The Gamble House, a masterpiece of Craftsman-style architecture, was designed by Charles and Henry Greene in 1908 for the prominent Gamble family. This National Historic Landmark showcases American Arts and Crafts architecture at its finest. The iconic home took 11 months to build using 17 different wood species. Guided tours are available every Thursday through Sunday, offering a glimpse into the house's rich history and exquisite design.
The Gamble house is beautiful! I was super bummed that it was not open on the day we were there. You care free to roam the property which we did. If you’re ever in Pasadena I highly recommend you make this part of your trip!

Such a beautiful house as a museum, been there 20 years ago. It's nice to revisit after these years. The house is well kept over the years. I joined as a member since I am a local, will revisit regularly. Remember to RSVP for private tours.

A bucket list of mine to finally get to see. The guides are very knowledgeable and the history of the house and inhabitants’s is fascinating. I like how they stagger the tours so you don’t feel rushed. Limited parking out front.
Rebecca D — Google review
Very, very impressive home, very well preserved. Tour guide was excellent, very well trained and passionate about this Art & Crafts gem. It is rather dark in certain areas, but the guide uses a flash light. The gardens are really special as well. The garage has special design elements as well, and currently used as offices, public rest rooms & staff offices. If you love fine wood working, it’s a must-see! Buy tickets ahead of time.

An absolute gem in Pasadena! The Gamble House isn’t just an architectural masterpiece it’s also Doc Brown’s house from Back to the Future. Come for the movie nostalgia, and stay for the stunning Craftsman architecture and gorgeous, peaceful grounds. Every detail of the home is a tribute to fine craftsmanship and design. Whether you’re a film buff or a fan of historic architecture, this place is a must-visit!
Stephanie S — Google review
I was excited to go here and disappointed by the austerity of it. Not much in terms of history, the docents had trouble answering questions, and while it was interesting, I thought for the wealth and influence the Ganbles had in 1800s and 1900s and even today, the decrease and design were uninspiring. Though the premises were outstanding.
Michael H — Google review
If nothing else, go for the architecture. A beautifully built home showing the arts & crafts style of the early 20th century...

Unbelievably stunning! A beautiful time capsule of art deco architecture and furnishings. Tour was very thorough with ample time for questions.

Pasadena City Hall, a stunning architectural masterpiece completed in 1927, showcases the Renaissance-style design and serves as the administrative hub of the city. This iconic structure is a testament to the City Beautiful movement, reflecting grandeur and beautification in urban planning. Designed by Bakewell and Brown, it seamlessly blends Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival styles. The prominent circular tower at the entrance sets an impressive tone for visitors.
If you're reading this review, maybe you're considering Pasadena City Hall for an engagement or pre-wedding photoshoot. Well, you're looking at a great spot! Its stunning architecture provides a timeless and elegant backdrop for any shoot. As a wedding photographer and videographer, I've had the privilege of coming here many times to capture beautiful moments. My wife and I are a husband-and-wife team, and when we got married, we actually did our engagement shoot here, too! One couple we worked with had their first look here in the morning on their wedding day, and there were plenty of private areas to exchange their private vows. Other times, we've come here for pre-wedding/engagement shoots, and every time, we find creative ways to utilize the variety of areas here -- there are so many options! One thing that stands out is the garden and fountain in the center, surrounded by majestic pillars. The steps are also wide and long, which makes for some intimate yet grand drone footage (for both photo and video). Parking is very easy to find, just outside the venue. On some days, there might be multiple shoots happening, but it hasn't been an issue for us before to avoid any groups of people. Clearly, we love this venue, as we've gotten our own photoshoot done here for our wedding, but even from a professional photographer/videographer's perspective, you can't go wrong with having your shoot here! Highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pasadena City Hall Pasadena City Hall is a masterpiece. With its grand architecture, soaring arches, and elegant details, it feels cinematic — like something out of a classic film. Weddings and engagement sessions here are always timeless, and the light that pours into the courtyard makes portraits feel luminous and refined. It’s an iconic backdrop that gives couples a gallery full of sophistication and style. ✨ If Pasadena City Hall is your dream wedding location, I’d love to create timeless, elegant photographs to match its beauty.
Drew P — Google review
This is an ICONIC building here in our city, so I'll try to do it justice with an AI-slop-free review. I have lived here in Pasadena since mid 2022 and I've had the pleasure of driving by and even occasionally visit this monument to good Mediterranean Revival architecture (I did have to look that up, I admit, lol). This famed City Hall has been in Parks And Recreation (unpopular opinion: both The Office and Parks & Rec were made by the same team, but Parks & Rec is the superior sitcom), Big Bang Theory, and Parenthood. There's a large water fountain once to go in. There are towers you can go up through, to be able to get a better view of the city. Nice touristy spot, even for us local that live 3 minutes away from it, lol.
Alejandro M — Google review
I recently photographed an engagement session at Pasadena City Hall, and it’s truly one of the most elegant and diverse photo locations in Los Angeles. The European-style architecture, open courtyard and gardens, and warm natural light create a timeless backdrop for engagement and wedding photography. Every corner offers a unique composition — from grand arches to quiet garden paths. It’s a place that feels both romantic and cinematic. Just keep in mind that you’ll need a photo permit to shoot here, but it’s absolutely worth it for such a stunning location.
Nemanja Z — Google review
It’s one of the best place to visit in Pasadena. Beautifully representing the historic architecture. Amazing architectural views . So many photo shots are happening here . Best views to take pictures . Peaceful place for evening walk and enjoy architectural work.1927 built

Breathtaking city hall, whenever I walk in Pasadena or drive through it to get food or anything else, I always see this. It’s so cool, and the view of it is honestly quite stunning—it’s so big! If they allow you inside, I need to see!

Fun & Games
Sports Complexes
The Rose Bowl Stadium, a historic arena located in the Arroyo Seco, is renowned for hosting the annual college-football championship game and a popular monthly flea market. This iconic stadium, built in 1922 and renovated in 2013, can accommodate over 90,000 people for various events such as football games, concerts, and Independence Day fireworks shows. It serves as the home field for the UCLA football team and has welcomed performances by music legends like U2 and Beyonce.
UCLA played a great game on Oct 18th. It was a home coming game in which, I could not have picked a more exciting game to watch. The atmosphere in the , Rose Bowl, was very electric and organized. The pregame tailgaters all had great family fun for all ages. A well staffed security team gave a feeling of safety while being very willing to address the needs of the public.
Fred — Google review
This place is due for renovation. They also need to figure out a better way in and out of the GA field. Those tiny tunnels need to be wider. Have a plan to get in and out of the stadium itself as parking on golf course is stacked and shuttle can take forever due to long lines.
Cc C — Google review
I saw Oasis Live '25 here. The concert was amazing. The acoustics were good and there are a lot of food and drink options at the venue. The negatives - like others have said, the seating is very close together and not the most comfortable. I mean, it's stadium seating, so sitting and even standing isn't great. The line to get into the concert was very long and I got there pretty early. My biggest gripe however is the outrageous charge for parking, $75.
Carina J — Google review
My grandson really wanted to see Oasis. Now, they don't tour often so I was stuck getting the only show in town, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. I knew it would sell out and I knew the seats would not be very good, but for what I paid they should have been much better. The prices were outrageous. Many venues have upped their food game, but not here. It was the same junk you might find at a circus. It was very pricey and none of it was good. We were very disappointed. Parking is a bear and if you are disabled, well that is too bad. They have very few spots. You have to get there at least 3 hours early just to get in, get food and get merch. They don't have enough places to get merch so be ready to wait in line an hour just to do that. Then there is the fun of finding your seats with staff who have no idea where you are to go and just point. It took us 20 minutes to find our super expensive seats which were really bad. We had a fight break out in front of us and no security was to be found. We had to make them stop ourselves. The place is old, not kept up and it is sad. It used to be nice. I will go back if forced by my grandson because what he says goes and he has plans. I would be happy to never see the place again. The sound is terrible, you can't see and it is too loud. It is just bad.
Elizabeth L — Google review
I had a good time at the music concert I went to at the Rose Bowl. It is a classic, historic stadium. The sound was great. The negatives of this as a venue are 1) there aren’t enough bathrooms - the lines were VERY LONG for both men and women and 2) the seats are very close to each other - there is very little elbow room to move around.
Olivia H — Google review
Taking the Private tour Given to our school was incredible! The Rose bowl is historic in so many levels. Its over 100yrs old and the traditions stay the same. Our Wonderful and Insightful Tour Guide Joe Fehrenbach did an outstanding Job of telling us the stories and history of such a historic site. He took us to the Press booth, the Private Club House, the Locker Rooms, the Memorabilia rooms. Wow!! And the tour ended ended with an excellent video that summed up all the nostalgia of the Rose Bowl! This place is is California Gold! Dont miss it! Book your tour, you'll love it. Thanks Again Joe! Cheers and GOD Bless!

My wife and I attended the Oasis Live 25 Reunion Concert on Saturday the 6th of September and we weren't unhappy with any aspect of the concert experience: parking was excellent, people were friendly, staff was helpful, and the venue, historic. They know how to take care of 90,000 + during any event. Go. 🥰🤩❤️

The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens is a sprawling complex in San Marino, California that encompasses art galleries with renowned works, rare-book collections, and extensive gardens. Visitors can explore 120 acres of botanical landscapes and delve into the library's collection of rare books while enjoying the diverse bird population. The site offers a captivating blend of beauty and literary treasures, providing insights into 18th-century European art and 17th-century American art through various exhibits and collections.
Absolutely breathtaking. Immaculately maintained gardens and facilities. So many diverse settings all in one place! We did Japanese, Chinese and Desert gardens (and bonsai collection) and also had a bit of time at the mansion/art museum. Will need to come back another time to see the rest, in particular the rose gardens, which I hear are best in March through November. Overall, the best botanical garden(s) experience I have had. (and, at first, I did balk at the $29 ticket price, but after visiting, feel it is well worth it.). Amazing space.
Tim L — Google review
I’ve been here several times. Although it’s called a library, it actually feels more like a botanical garden — the area is huge. If you really enjoy wandering slowly and taking your time, you can easily spend the whole day here. I recommend reserving their afternoon tea; the atmosphere of sitting by the rose garden, sipping tea, and chatting is perfect for family gatherings, friends, or bringing kids along. My favorite part is the Chinese Garden — it’s incredibly similar to those in Suzhou, and it also reminds me a lot of Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai. Currently, the ticket price is about $29 on weekdays and $34 on weekends, which is a bit pricey, but they do offer one free admission day every month.
YUMI Y — Google review
It never gets boring. No matter which time of the year, the garden has a priceless beauty. I personally like the wilder areas more than the highly architectural ones. Alltogether, this is always a nice showcase to take out-of-town guests, who typically as a little plus indulge in the store at the end of the day. PREVIOUS REVIEW 2 Such a beautiful place, particularly now in the spring when everything starts to blossom. Since my last visit (before Covid), several sections have been expanded, eg the Chinese Garden, and others are under construction. The Huntington remains a super fav! PREVIOUS REVIEW 1 What do the Huntington Library, the beach, and High Sierra (e.g. Mammoth) have in common? The incredible display of nature that make each one of them an irreplaceable ingredient for L.A. quality of life. No matter how full it is, there is always the inevitable peace to rebalance from the day-to-day stress. The richness of conjoined plants with their wilderness, beauty, danger, independence, and durability that spans decades and centuries but observes subtle human-made changes puts many things into perspective. And its beauty is simply relaxing… P.S. … never regretted the membership … (Originally posted by me on yelp)
Andreas K — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience. We went for our wedding anniversary and it was worth the money. We did the free tour around the grounds, plus we went through two of the museums and lots of the gardens. Our favorite was probably the rose gardens and the subtropical area but all of it was really pretty in it's own way. We will be back with our mother's soon. 😁
Alexander B — Google review
Absolutely brilliant visit today. The weather was perfect — warm but not too sunny — and there is plenty of shade throughout the gardens, which makes wandering the trails comfortable and relaxing. Accessibility was great as well. The pathways are wheelchair-friendly, and it’s easy to navigate between most of the major garden areas without feeling limited. One important note: buy tickets ahead of time. They can sell out for the day, especially on weekends or during special events, so planning ahead will save you the trouble. If it’s your first time, the must-see highlights are: • The Chinese Garden – peaceful water views, beautiful architecture • The Japanese Garden – serene paths, koi ponds, and iconic landscaping • The Rose Garden – colorful, fragrant, and perfect for photos It’s the kind of place you can spend hours exploring without even realizing it. A stunning and well-maintained escape in the middle of the city — highly recommend for locals and visitors alike.
Nick S — Google review
I have been wanting to come here for a long time! Had to buy tickets online as it was a holiday and guess they are needed for Friday's, Saturday's and Sundays. Went right away in the morning and spent over 4.5 hours here! At over 100 plus acres and 16 themed gardens there is a lot of walking involved. Galleries to enjoy, gift shop ,tea house, cafés and more. Gardens included desert, Japanese, Australian, jungle, roses and many more. There was a cute water play area for children. I saw tram shuttle for people that wanted a ride back as some places are far away from the entrance and it got very warm. Definitely worth the price to see this beautiful place!
Mamie Z — Google review
I can not wait to visit the museum and gardens again. I attended later in the day so I did not have enough time to spend in every garden but the taste I got on my first visit was a dream. There is nature everywhere. So many beautiful varieties of plants and flowers. Some of which I have never seen before. I spent most of my time in the gift shop and really had to hold back not spending too much money. It is well organized and caters to all lifestyles. The passionfruit vegan chocolate bar is thee best chocolate I have had. The Huntington is an amazing place to go alone, on a date or with family and friends. Perfect place for writing or people watching as well. They have free first Thursdays and if you own an EBT Calfresh card you will receive a discount. I was not too impressed with the food in the cafeteria area. There were tons of people getting food, tea and coffee. I was able to put a vegan meal together at the bowl place but the food was cold. The hot water spout for tea was not working so the guy on the other side had to give us hot water from the bar which was scolding hot. I thought to myself how dangerous that could be if I did not double my cup sleeve. The grab and go section was good. Fruit was super fresh and there was an area with desserts also. After I nibbled I walked until closing basically. After some time the people at the table are gone and you can just walk through to whatever garden you want but really it's only about 30 minutes before closing. Please visit. It a dream place to be.
Renaissance A — Google review
This place is magical. The grounds are breathtaking. The cafe food is delicious and reasonable. The galleries have some amazing works of art, including The Blue boy. They had a live performance of traditional Chinese music in the Chinese gardens on the day I visited. It was lovely, surrounded by a body of water with plants, flowers, and rockery. We were there for about 2.5 hours and barely saw 10% of what’s available. Will definitely return.

big museum with lots of unique art; paintings and sculptures. i enjoyed especially van gogh’s art and all the catholic art with Mother Mary or the Saints. also it was free admission for students! and they had a little cafe where i got a soda. i would recommend a visit here.

This museum may be small in size, but the sheer amount of art is staggering. Degas, Renoir, Picasso, Rembrandt, are just a few of the big names here. I came to see one specific painting, but made sure to visit every single part of the building. The outdoor sculpture garden is under construction but the interior alone was worth the visit. Tickets were only $20! I wish I had more time - there are lots of benches and the artwork is hung in a way that really lends to stepping back and contemplating. I’ve spent hundreds of hours in huge museums, but this museum, with its smaller footprint was so much more impactful. Cannot recommend the Norton Simon Museum enough!

Amazing experience! Prob one the best Los Angeles county area museums we have been too. The layout works very well, and even though the parking lot is full, you do not feel crowded or rushed inside. There are essentially four long corridors of European centric art/sculptures on the entry floor; two more modern works/eras (Van Gough, Picasso, Monet, etc.), and the other two corridors filled with earlier period artist and works. On the lower floor a pretty amazing SE Asian exhibit. Also below is the outdoor cafe! Sculpture garden is amazing, but was closed when we were there for renovations. Despite the construction work, no real issue or impact on our time there. Parking lot is free, and even when busy seems to do the trick well! Highly recommend this spot! It is very close to the Pasadena Colorado hub (great food, shopping, etc.).

The Norton Simon Museum is such a gem, it’s intimate, and incredibly well curated. The collection is fabulous, with an impressive range that includes European masterpieces, modern works, and stunning South and Southeast Asian art. Each gallery is thoughtfully arranged, allowing the art to really shine without feeling overwhelming. The sculpture garden is also a highlight—lush, serene, and the perfect place to pause and reflect. Whether you’re a casual visitor or a serious art lover, this museum offers a truly enriching experience. A must-visit in Pasadena!

This is an amazing museum. The main exhibit was closed when I went but they said it would be back up in the fall. However, they have a very nice outdoor exhibit and kids area aswell.

Most of it is under renovation so I only got to enjoy the central courtyard and Silk Road exhibit. The tranquil garden is free with two lovely ponds. It even as storms from lake Tai, makong me nostalgic for the bike rides and trail runs near that lake. The building itself is reminiscent of courtyards with stone stairwells in eastern China. The Silk Road exhibit is excellent and any child can spend an entire afternoon with interactive activities and real artifacts. It’s always a bit of a misnomer though as the horse is what drew sellers and buyers in Europe and Asia together through trading routes. I look forward to visiting when everything is done in the fall.

Quaint Museum in the heart of Pasadena!!! Very accessible and they have a good sized parking lot north of the building and the entrance is on Los Robles. Now to the exhibits; although limited, they are beautifully curated. Think about a smaller version of the big museums although they’re featuring only the “bigger” countries in Asia. Currently, there is a special exhibit about “Dismantling Orientalism” which about presenting the Orient not from the stereotypical eyes of the West which I believe presents a fresher and more accurate take on the subject. I’d like to affirm and thank Grace Nicholson for her vision in making this place available to all. Plan to spend an hour before hitting the dining spots in the area. I also recommend spending a few minutes in their garden and appreciate the architecture.

Terrific selection of art and divided up by regions for the permanent collection. I really appreciate the hands on and interactive exhibits as well. Beautiful courtyard area and plenty of parking. Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of art in the newer collections. Attaching some of my favorite pieces of art I saw there. There is a free entry day each month. I think it's the second Sunday. Their gift shop had a really nice selection of goods.

I wasn't happy because I had planned to go to this museum for a long time and had often looked at the website. I even emailed at one point to ask if I needed to get tickets in advance. They responded promptly, but never mentioned that the galleries would be closed in August. I didn't discover the closure until I'd driven all the way to Pasadena. When I complained that the closure wasn't on the website, they pointed out that it was there if you click all the way through to "visit" and read the description. Anyway, the building and the courtyard are cool.

Parking: free (at least on Sunday), they have the lot on the corner. Plenty of space then. Entry: check online. Free once a month on Sunday. Beautiful building, tiny koi pond, great for pictures. One section is contemporary art that is only tangentially Asian (usually they have Asian heritage). The permanent exhibits are amazing, some very old, and well crafted.

Old Pasadena is a downtown historic district that has become a popular destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Visitors can start their day at the Botanical Gardens before exploring the 19th-century brick buildings filled with shops and restaurants in Old Town Pasadena. Art and architecture enthusiasts should not miss the Norton Simon Museum, known for its impressive collection of works by artists such as Degas, Rembrandt, Goya, and Picasso.
Visit Date: October 14, 2024 An enchanting historic district! Starting from the highway bridge, we strolled all the way to the Pasadena City Hall, enjoying the charm of this picturesque town along the way. Every alley we ventured into seemed to hold a delightful surprise. The beautiful surroundings, combined with a variety of shopping centers and boutique stores in the area, make this a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Los Angeles. Don’t miss out!

cute block of restaurants and shops with parks nearby and close to a few museums. a lot of upscale/name brand shops and some that aren’t as well. i only wish it had a little more personality, like sculptures and murals.

The Colorado Street Bridge is a stunning architectural marvel that has graced Pasadena since 1913. This impressive Beaux-Arts structure, which spans over 1,400 feet and reaches a height of 150 feet, was once the tallest concrete bridge in the world. Recently restored, it offers breathtaking views of Old Town Pasadena and the majestic San Gabriel Mountains. As you approach from Los Angeles, you'll be captivated by its elegant arches and vintage streetlamps that line the way.
The construction of this bridge is remarkable. It's beautifully built and all these years, still grabs the attention of anyone within view. There's an adorable little park and trail directly under it which makes this place a gem located located underneath a gigantic treasure trove! I recommend stopping by and reading the interesting history throughout to he park. I also caution anyone coming late in the evening or early in the morning, if you have small pets or children do not allow any distance between your loved ones because there are lots of coyotes and the they are big, healthy and not afraid. Just a reminder to anyone willing to control the coyote population, they are not game animals, so like rodents in your garage, kill them all and don't wait for the next coyote attack.

Stopped by the Colorado Street Bridge on our way to Ventura Beach Pier and it was definitely worth it! You can get some great views and cool photos from Desiderio Park, including a nice shot of Pasadena City Hall in the distance. Peaceful spot with a touch of history — glad we made the stop!

The Colorado Street Bridge is like a giant archway to fun! Walk across for views, or peek underneath for a totally different perspective. This Pasadena gem is a must-see
Eletta B — Google review
An Iconic Pasadena Landmark with Timeless Beauty The Colorado Street Bridge is a true architectural gem—elegant, historic, and absolutely stunning from every angle. Built in 1913, this Beaux-Arts style bridge gracefully spans the Arroyo Seco and remains one of Pasadena’s most beloved and photogenic landmarks. Walking across the bridge is a beautiful experience, especially around sunset when the vintage streetlamps begin to glow and the San Gabriel Mountains light up in the background. The gentle curve and soaring arches give the whole structure a romantic, almost cinematic feel. It’s no wonder it’s been featured in films and local lore for generations. Pro tip: Head down to Desiderio Neighborhood Park, directly below the bridge, for incredible views of the full span and those magnificent arches. It’s one of the best vantage points for appreciating the bridge’s scale and design—and perfect for photos. From there, you can also connect to the Arroyo Seco walking paths for even more scenic exploration. There’s easy pedestrian access via Defenders Park, and parking nearby isn’t too difficult. While safety fencing has been added in recent years, it doesn’t take away much from the overall experience. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Pasadena, the Colorado Street Bridge is a must-see—romantic, historic, and absolutely unforgettable. One of those rare spots that feels magical every time you visit.

big bridge, has a sad history as the “suicide bridge”. but it now has metal railing around it to hopefully prevent that from happening again. it’s ok to look at, i liked the park next to it, that’s where you should park.
Charisma B — Google review
Tried walking there but the bridge is closed to pedestrians and to get the view of the bridge you have to walk around the fence they have. Got to the bottom and they have a nice park. The bridge has a few curves in the road so getting a photo of the whole bridge from the park is difficult. Nice place to visit for a few minutes though.

The Pasadena Museum of History is a treasure trove dedicated to the history and culture of the region. Situated on a two-acre site, it features historic buildings, including the Fenyes Mansion, a stunning 1905 Beaux-Arts masterpiece with original furnishings. The mansion is part of 'Millionaire's Row,' reflecting the opulence of early 1900s Pasadena.
This place is rad. It’s really beautiful. We came here for a photoshoot. They have really great rooms and the architecture and texturing is awesome. I heard they do night tours throughout the museum, that would be sick. Just remember one thing though, BE RESPECTFUL. THIS IS A MUSEUM AND IT HAS HISTORY. don’t be a jerk. It’ll cost you!

The museum is pretty boring, not much to see. But the garden in the back was surprisingly beautiful. Might be better going on a day with a docent and some event, because I just walked in and there were just some pictures. Nothing special. The exterior is very aesthetic and was the only thing that made the trip worth it.

Lovely museum! I had never been and decided to do the Fenyes mansion tour. I did not know the history of Eva Fenyes, or how much she contributed to the arts in Pasadena. She also painted - lovely work. There are many plein air/California Impressionist works in the mansion. It's all preserved quite well. The tour price also included museum admission, and they currently have a very fun exhibit about film history and it's connections to Pasadena. Thank you to Pam, who was a great tour guide.

The Fenyes Mansion tour is the star, with beautiful rooms and stories that tie into early Pasadena. The museum rotates exhibits that are more interesting than you might expect. Parking is free in the lot shared with the history center. The grounds are calm, with big shade trees. It’s a civilized way to spend an afternoon, especially paired with coffee on Orange Grove after. Staff are knowledgeable without being stuffy

Nestled in Pasadena, the Wrigley Mansion, also known as The Tournament House, is a stunning example of Italian Renaissance architecture dating back to 1906. Spanning over 4.5 acres adorned with beautiful flower gardens, this historic estate has served as the headquarters for the Tournament of Roses since its donation by Ada Wrigley in 1958.
This place is quit good . You can do picnic or read a book and lost in nature. You have to park roadside. It has big old trees along with small rose garden.

Open for tours again. You do need to reserve online. Free parking along the streets nearby. The tour starts on time with a video presentation of the history of the house and the Tournament of roses Parade. Then you tour all the rooms on the first and second floor. There is a basement and attic which are not open to tour as they are just storage at this time. Our guide was great and the entire tour lasted 2 hours. You learn about the region from the early 1800's to present . Great furniture, architectural elements, trophies, jewelry, etc. The rose garden outside is fantastic and is always open to view without going on a tour.

Wrigley Mansion's Rose Garden in Pasadena, Los Angeles, is a true hidden gem. The beautifully maintained garden boasts a stunning array of roses in various colors and varieties, creating a picturesque and tranquil environment. The meticulous care given to the garden is evident in the lush, vibrant blooms that are a delight to both the eyes and the senses. The setting of the rose garden, adjacent to the historic Wrigley Mansion, adds to the charm and elegance of the experience. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, a peaceful moment of reflection, or even a romantic outing. The garden's design, with its well-laid paths and thoughtfully arranged rose beds, allows visitors to fully appreciate the beauty and fragrance of each rose. Visited the gorgeous rose garden and walked the grounds. Mansion was a winter home of the Wrigley family of chewing gum fame. It is owned by Pasadena and home of Tournament of Roses. So naturally they had beautiful roses. Also camellias, other flowers and a fabulous tree. Tours of home are free but one day/week and reserved ahead. Had my sons 10th birthday here, and it was also our first time! Those places is great!! We had a blast, there is so much to do indoors and outdoors! I paid extra for there sensory maze and that was my favorite part! We can't wait to go back!!! Wish they had a location in the valley!

My kids love going here. We have a family membership and love going any chance we get. Any time we go, there’s always something fun to do. It never gets old. Most of the time we stay till closing. I love that the theme changes every so often. Halloween and Christmas are really fun themes there. The water creek is also very fun in the summer and those perfect sunny Cali days. There’s plenty of things to do. There’s an inside area for play, creativity, and exploration. The outside area is for play, imagination, and exploring. My kids’ favorite area is the bike area. They get to ride on tricycles. There’s a smaller play and bike area for the little 4 and under next to it. They can play in water, ride on smaller tricycles, go on a small slide, and play with hands on activities.

I grew up going here , so now I take my daughter, nieces and nephews. Staff is always so kind. I went on a really hot day, but rest assured you can buy cold drinks/food at fair prices ( cheaper than most museums/amusement parks). They also have water fountains throughout the museum and a little pond where kids can get wet. Just make sure to pack extra clothes. I was also pleasantly surprised when my nephew lost his iPhone and it was turned in to the lost and found. For people like myself who are parents and get social anxiety, the crowds tend to be smaller than fairs or amusement parks which is a plus. My daughter loves the craft room and all the interactive exhibits.

This was our first time going and it was so much fun. There is so much to do! It’s definitely an all day event. The children loved it. We will be back. There is a splash water spot towards the back of the property. So bring a change of clothes. In that area there is no bathrooms close by. It is a walk back towards the front to use the bathroom. We stopped in an area where the kids can play real life gardening and kitchen and grocery store. So the kids can farm their own food and they can pay for their items. There is a spot where the kids can ride bikes on a real race track! It was so much fun. There are a few indoor activities where the kids and be an archeologist. The kids can walk down the stairs and climb up a real tunnel. There is a craft area for the kids. There is a climbing area, I recommend the kids going up. It gets kinda tight going to the top as an adult. There is a restaurant or cafe on the property but we didn’t stay to eat. So I’m not sure what they offer.

Great place to take your kids! Although it is catered more towards older toddlers and above. I would say kids 3 and up would have more fun exploring but you can still take the younger ones so they can look around and interact with some stuff 🙂 There’s a little water area that kids can go in during the hot weather so I would recommend taking some swimwear for them! So much to do here!
Angie S — Google review
It was alright. I went on a cooler day, there was a lot of kids so it just felt really crowded and hard to keep track of mine in the crowds. A couple of their exhibits didn’t work or were too busy with kids to actually do anything in them. The whole water area smelled like raw sewage so we ended up leaving it extremely early on. Favorite part was the man & woman at the sing along. I’d rather go to a place that has more than 1 station per exhibit.
Leslie V — Google review
Taking your kids to this place for couple hours, everyday if you want, could very well be a better alternative than going all day to hectic, stressful and expensive Disneyland for just one day. You could choose to pay for a yearly membership to avoid paying per visit. This place is loaded with many fun activities, including tricycle rides. The tricycle rides wait time could be long on weekends. Well organized and attentive staff. Kids will have beautiful and lasting memories.

The Millard House, also known as La Miniatura, is a historic site in Pasadena designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1923. This early example of Wright's Prairie School style showcases his innovative use of concrete 'textile blocks' with textured surfaces resembling brocade. The house reflects Wright's vision for affordable and self-built housing, diverging from his previous work. Its Mayan-influenced design has earned widespread acclaim and National Historic Register status since 1976.

Wedding venue
Castle Green, located in Pasadena, is a former hotel that exudes an air of Gilded Age mystery and elegance. The central annex, built in the Victorian era, boasts a striking exterior with Moorish-meets-Victorian architecture and lush gardens. The building has been reimagined to restore its 117-year-old beauty, featuring arched verandahs, walkways, a lily pond, expansive lawns, and unique trees.
If you love historic places, gorgeous architecture, and have a flair for vintage, Castle Green absolutely has to be your first and only stop for wedding venues. For our vintage-inspired wedding in November 2024, Castle Green made the perfect backdrop. They were incredibly accommodating to host our 10-piece swing band and their in-house caterer made some of the best food our guests said they've ever seen at a wedding. Almost every single one of our guests complimented the food, atmosphere of the venue, and incredibly kind wait staff! The Director of Events Tatiana is absolutely amazing - from the moment you meet her, she is kind and thoughtful, offering ideas of how to make your wedding special and steering you away from things that haven't worked in the past. She let us stop by the venue as many times as we needed to either practice our wedding dance, show other vendors the space, and prepare for the big day. Castle Green's location, special history, and completely wonderful staff will no doubt make your wedding day unforgettable - I couldn't recommend it enough.
Katarina M — Google review
Castle Green has an incredible presence — bold, exotic architecture with detailed front entrances and a design that really stands out. It’s one of Pasadena’s most iconic buildings and you can see why it was once such a showpiece. But up close, the building looks pretty run down. Paint is fading, some parts feel neglected, and it doesn’t have the cared-for energy you’d expect from a site with this much history. The area around it doesn’t help either — Central Park across the road felt unsafe when we visited, with a strong police presence and several people sleeping rough. It takes away from what could otherwise be a great little pocket of the city. Worth a quick look for the architecture, but not somewhere we felt like hanging around.
Ben S — Google review
We had our wedding on 6/28/2025 at Castle Green, and we could not have been happier with the experience. From start to finish, the coordinator (Tatiana) was available to help us with anything and everything that popped up. One of the standout things about working with Castle Green was their attention to detail. Tatiana shared everything we needed to book the space in a clear and concise manner. We also went with many of their suggested vendors from a thoughtful but extensive list provided at booking. We were a little nervous that we were required to use their caterer, but we had a decent experience with the caterer and we loved our food day-of. On the wedding day, everything went smoothly. Guests raved about the beautiful exterior and interior spaces. We loved having our ceremony outdoors and our reception indoors. Tatiana truly made us feel cared for and that meant so much to us. Also, we loved how there were so many spaces to take photos in and for guests to relax throughout the night. We wholeheartedly recommend Castle Green as a wedding venue. We couldn’t imagine having had our big day anywhere else.
Caroline D — Google review
Hosted a 20's themed fundraising event for a bit under 200 people a while back and it turned out AMAZING. Overall everything was great, the venue and caterer were awesome and easy to work with. Pretty much everything besides entertainment and décor were handled by venue and caterer which made things super easy and a low work load. Having access to the outdoor spaces and many indoor spaces is a huge plus allowing for different spaces to be used for different times during the party. Food was very tasty and the ambiance fit our theme perfectly. I will say the only thing I wish I would have known is that in the ballroom, speakers are defiantly needed in the very back if you have anything being said on a mic. We hosted a live auction and only had large speakers in the front thinking it would project to the back but with normal noise from chatter and people moving, you could not make out what was being said. Easy fix would have been to add a speaker or two to the back. I would definitely recommend the venue!
Katy B — Google review
125 year old building. Started as a hotel and now condos. Tours are twice a year. You explore the historic lobby and other common areas. There are also rooms available for tour every floor. There was a panio playing, then a jazz band to help you feel like you went back in time. Parking lot just to the north.
Gary S — Google review
Castle Green is such a magical place and we loved it even more after having our wedding there. The different areas were fantastic and beautifully decorated, creating natural segmentation in each area our guests. Not to mention so many iconic shows and movies filmed there, really makes the experience special. Tatiana was also lovely to work with, every so patient and communicative!
Christine L — Google review
We had the most magical wedding at Castle Green! Tatiana was wonderful to work with and made sure we had everything we needed for the day. Going into it, we knew that the setting and the venue were absolutely stunning. What we did not know was how the venue and vendors all worked together effortlessly like a family, and we simply cannot think of a better way of starting our new family than a wedding at Castle Green!
Rachel E — Google review
My wife and I were married at Castle Green on 8/2/2025. We toured over a dozen venues, and we chose Castle Green for several reasons. 1) We wanted to have an outdoor ceremony; 2) We wanted to be somewhere that was easily accessible and welcoming for our many out-of-town guests; 3) We wanted a timeless aesthetic. We got all of these and much more at Castle Green! Firstly, we loved working with Tatiana, the Director of Events at Castle Green. She was tremendously helpful and made us feel at home from our first meeting. She was very responsive throughout the course of our wedding planning and helped us book multiple tours for us to show our parents the venue when they came into town. The outdoor space at Castle Green was excellent. We got married under the tree on the lawn. We decided to do a first look on the other side of the lawn on the benches. The hot August sun was blocked by the buildings during our 5:00pm ceremony, which was followed by going indoors for cocktail hour and dinner. The interior of Castle Green was beautiful and perfect for what we were looking for. We did the Hora which worked great in the dance space. The dining area fit our 120 person guest count perfectly. Many of our guests came from the Midwest, the east coast, and Northern California. They found it easy getting to Pasadena from Burbank or LAX, and those visiting LA for the first time loved the vibe. We booked a room block at the Westin Pasadena, about a 3 minute drive or 15 minute walk from Castle Green. We had an incredible and forever-memorable wedding day, and highly recommend Castle Green to anyone looking for a venue in Pasadena or the greater Los Angeles area.

Wow what a great little midweek adventure! Apparently the Mt. Wilson observatory compound is open from 10-4pm daily and I believe fully open on weekends with tours at 10:30am and 1pm. Tickets can be purchased at the cosmic Cafe (open weekends only). On the road you walk along to get to the observatory is an astrological museum with many photos and text explaining what you're looking at. If you go to the 100' telescope there is a smaller building across the road to the right of the same driveway that houses another exhibit of fewer photographs and captions. When you get to the 100' telescope, make your way to the backside, around the left. You will come to two sets of stairs, one goes up, one returns back down. Inside is the telescope room you can view through glass. There is a button you can push to hear about the observatory. There's also benches to rest on. The whole thing is pretty awesome. I can only imagine what it's like if you were to take the tour. When you do take the tour you can look through the telescopes at whatever they are pointed at. I'm sure it's amazing!!

Such a peaceful hidden gem! 🌿 Beautiful and spacious place — and the best part is there are no tourist crowds like in the popular spots. If you come on a weekday, you might be the only one here! Just nature, birds singing, and complete silence. There are picnic tables and a small café that’s open only on weekends. Guided tours are also available on weekends if you want to learn more about the area. Perfect place to relax and recharge. ✨

Went for a public viewing night on the 100in scope. It was really cool to look through a 100+ year old scientific instrument. And the operators were very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend if you can afford it and stay up pretty late

Heull Howser would be proud! We visited Mount Wilson Observatory on a Sunday, and it was not crowded — a great time to explore this historic site. A few important notes for visitors: Drive Carefully: The road up, especially Mount Wilson Red Box Road, can be hazardous. We saw several rocks that had recently fallen from the cliffs, and sadly quite a few run-over squirrels. Take your time and stay alert. Accessibility: The facility does have wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking. However, the path from the lot to the 100" and 60" telescopes is a small hike, down and then back up a hill. This may be challenging for ADA needs and older visitors. Staff explained they will accommodate those with walkers or wheelchairs as best as possible. Parking Pass: A sign at the parking lot entrance says to display a Daily Pass, but it doesn’t tell you where to get one. Passes cost $5 and are available at the Mt. Wilson Skyline Park Picnic Site, next to the Cosmic Café. Restrooms: Google Maps currently says the restrooms are “Temporarily Closed,” but this wasn’t the case during our visit. The facilities were modest but clean and functional. Overall, this is a fascinating and worthwhile destination — just prepare for the drive, the walk, and the parking pass details. The observatory’s history and the views from the mountain make it more than worth the effort!

The Mount Wilson Observatory is certainly one of the most famous in the world, as it is so scientifically historic, a trip to Southern California is really complete with quick visit here. I took the scenic Mt Wilson Red Box Rd to the parking lot just beyond the big antennas. After placing my adventure pass in the window, I went to the Mount Wilson Skyline Park for a picnic and then walked up the road, not much more than 10 minutes towards the white observatory domes. First off, I hardly saw anyone, as it’s very quiet and unlike the Griffith Observatory, which is in Los Angeles and usually always crowded, In total there were only five other people out and about besides me. I saw employees and of course, the researchers with whom I joined in fascination! Signage is helpful to know which scope was used for its particular purposes. The Mount Wilson Historical Museum is dedicated to showing exhibits and giving information on the historical use of this great facility. There’s no admission, though the museum does have a donation box with which we can show our appreciation and support!

Lovely area to explore in and out of the observatory. Despite how hot it was that day, the chill winds gave it the perfect weather to enjoy the hike even more.

Great place to get a good introduction from professionals about stars and the depth of space. There are actual several observatories at that place. I was part of a group from Palm Springs and we all had a great time with our guide and the various professionals working at the site.

St. Andrew Catholic Church, located in Pasadena, is a significant landmark with its Romanesque Revival campanile bell tower and regular masses. It is the oldest Catholic parish in the city and features an interior that replicates the Basilica of Saint Sabina in Rome, complete with stunning murals, decorations, and a white Carrara marble altar canopy. The church's campanile bell tower is one of Pasadena's most recognizable features and can be seen from miles around.
Saw this beautiful church passing by and had to stop to see it, we also passed by nearby city halls beatifull building. Must see if you are around the area!

I don't recommend you to bring your children to get baptized or to have their communion. Very unorganized, no communication between staff, very rude and inconsiderate. I hate to even have to write a bad review on my church. But everything by was handled very poorly. When I first enrolled my daughter for communion classes I was given a date and time for the ceremony. And I recall this day perfectly because the coordinator Mr. John Anderson told me that I would be able to choose the ceremony date depending on whether I wanted it in Spanish and/or English. I saved the date. Fast forward to today a week before the ceremony they informed me that she wasn't going to have her ceremony this year and that she would need to complete yet another year of classes. Never was I informed that from the start. I called back to get more information and confirm whether or not my daughter was going to have her communion. I called Mr. John Anderson no call back. Called the office, finally got a call back from one of the other coordinators Ms. Juana. I explained to her the situation and how upset my daughter was over it and if there was anything we could do. Mrs. Juana at the time was kind and understanding. She informed me she would be adding my daughter to the list and that my daughter would be having her ceremony this weekend. She apologized for the clerical error. I was so thankful for her. My daughter was happy we went to go buy her dress get some decorations and food. Everything was great. Then 2 days later. I get a call from Mr. John Anderson telling me that there has been a mistake, that my daughter will NOT be having her communion this weekend. He didn't even know that I already had spoke to Juana regarding the matter. He had to put me on hold for 30 minutes to call her on the other line to confirm whether or not Ms. Juana had told me that. He probably was rude to her, because she was so afraid to tell me that there was nothing she could do anymore. This has been the worst experience ever. My poor daughter getting shut down twice, not to mention all the money I put in on her classes and her celebration. To hear my daughter cry and tell me she won't be able to wear her beautiful dress was heart breaking. So I thought to my self, there has to be something I can do. I asked to speak to Mr. John Andersons supervisor, which is Father Gonzalez. I thought to my self, he would be more understanding and he would be kind enough to try and do something to help fix the situation. My daughter could have taken a test or something. Idk at least apologized for all the miss communication, something. Boy was I wrong. He was rude, un kind and inconsiderate. He didn't even let me explain the situation. Very rudely told me it was not going to happen. Blaming me for not reading the manual, pretty much telling me it was my fault. He made me feel stupid and never even acknowledged the mistakes his staff had done. And the suffering he and his staff cause my poor daughter. I do take some of the blame for not questioning the ceremony more or asking for more details. I just lost my father last month so it's been difficult to keep up with everything. But I truly believed we would have be informed towards the end of classes and closer to the ceremony date. Because I was informed the details at the beginning. I just wished they would have handled it better. And if they would have just told me from the first time that she wasn't going to have her ceremony instead of getting my daughter's hopes up to just take that away from her again. I hope this doesn't happened to anybody else. It's devastating and heart breaking. We've been preparing for this day since last year. Imagine.

Hello, and thank you for your response. I want to start by saying I truly meant no harm in sharing my review. I was surprised by the tone of the reply, as it felt like it assumed negative intent, and that was never the case. I began by expressing everything I love about the church, and I meant every word. I chose not to go directly to the pastor or priests because I’ve had a previous meeting with Father Gonzalez about my sacraments. It was unrelated to my current concerns, but due to some miscommunication, I left the conversation feeling very emotional. I know he wasn’t trying to upset me, he was trying to resolve the issue, but it left me hesitant to initiate another conversation like that. That said, I’ve always appreciated Father Gonzalez and looked forward to Mass when he was presiding. Your response made me feel a bit pressured to share more than I wanted to publicly. I kindly ask that future replies to feedback be approached with more gentleness. I say that with all respect. I genuinely didn’t know about the children’s chapel. During my OCIA church tour, I wasn’t shown or made aware of it, perhaps it's in a different building? I’ve had difficult experiences at other churches due to my daughter’s disability, so I try very hard to sit where we’ll disturb others the least. The room I referred to in my review was the one near the south end of the church, under the picture of Mary, which was sometimes announced for mothers to nurse or soothe children. I may have misunderstood its purpose, and I’m happy to be corrected. I only wish the correction had come with more kindness, in that case, I would’ve gladly updated my review. Thank you again. I still care deeply for this church and hope to return when the time feels right. Warmly, Isamar Original Post: This is by far one of the most beautiful churches in Southern California. I had the privilege of finishing my sacraments with my husband here. OCIA was such a pleasure and I looked forward to it every week with John Anderson. The only reason I took off two stars is because this church is probably the most unwelcoming for families with small children. I have received some pretty dirty looks because of my daughter who has a disability and my baby who still makes noises during service. I tried going to the nursing room but it’s too cold/hot (the door is always open) and has no place to sit and is completely isolated from church. I can’t hear what’s going on if I’m in there with my child and don’t know when the Eucharist is being received. I don’t want to open the humongous door just to see what’s going on every few minutes. The last time I went there with my family, we all walked into the cry room and just left because there was nothing we could do in there. I love this church. I want to go back so badly, but I can’t. It’s not made for families with small children, let alone my daughter who has a disability. I’m writing this with the hope that someday things will be different.

Beatiful Church and beautiful service whether the Holy Mass is celebrated in English, Latin or Spanish. The ordinarium parts of the Holy Mass are always in Latin, at least whenever we attend. Church members, clergies and laities are all welcoming. The choir is heavenly.

The church is beautiful and awe inspiring. The church was painted by European artisans and is worth your stop. Find some parking near by and then walk down to Slater 50/50 for lunch. This is probably a 20 minute stop but if you are in Pasadena , it is worth your time

This church exterior & interior is amazing the details of the building is very intricate. It is so beautiful what an awesome church. And always clean inside and out. The service is great. Gave us a peaceful of mind and heart after attending the mass. We love this church.

Huge Catholic church building just right off the 210 freeway and parking is available across the lot for people attending the mass. The liturgy was very solemn and/but the music brings you back to the olden days. The reviewers are correct about how beautiful the architecture is and it gives you a European feel.

Vista del Arroyo Hotel, built between 1920 and 1938 by architects Marston & Van Pelt, has a rich history. Originally housing the Planetary Society's HQ in one of its bungalows, the property was later sold to private owners but was renovated back to its former glory in 2008. The Richard H. Chambers United States Court of Appeals now occupies what used to be the hotel.
Vista del Arroyo Hotel, 1920-1930 125 South Grand Avenue Architects: Marston & Van Pelt The Richard H. Chambers United States Court of Appeals is located in what was once the Vista del Arroyo Hotel. The property was originally built in 1903, restored and reopened by the federal government in 1985. The hotel was designed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style of architecture, is it the largest of several buildings adjacent to the residential district on the western edge of Pasadena. A reconstructed rose-covered pergola, restored fountain, and colorful plantings greet today’s visitors. The Colorado Street Bridge and Arroyo Seco accompany the courthouse, adorning from below. This is one of the few Pasadena neighborhoods that boasts pre-1900 houses in quantity and good repair. Orange Grove was the first prime residential street when Pasadena was first founded in 1874 as the Indiana Colony. After incorporation in 1886, the city became a noted winter destination for wealthy visitors from the East and boasted six large resort hotels. Magnificent mansions and gardens began to replace the earlier farms along Orange Grove, earning it the nickname “Millionaires’ Row.” As more new residents arrived (including California Governor Henry H. Markham), Orange Grove addresses became scarce, so new side streets were cut in. In the 1950s, garden apartments replaced the aging estates along Orange Grove, but the side streets still have many turn-of-the century houses. Built to recall Eastern-style homes, the earliest were staunch and upright Queen Ann Victorians like 346 Markham. Also popular was the American Colonial Revival, most visible at 337 Markham. 271 Markham is Shingle Style; although not dark brown, its billowing forms are still evocative of the Eastern seaboard. As you walk along St. John Avenue, visualize the east side of the street replaced by the Long Beach Freeway—first planned in the 1950s and still, as of this writing, an officially adopted route. The rest of the neighborhood to the west became a local landmark district in 2005.

Old Pasadena has a complex history, with past attempts to limit the influx of minorities into the area. There were even racist articles published in newspapers calling for the expulsion of Chinese residents. Despite this, it remains a vibrant and diverse neighborhood today. One of its newest additions is Le Chateau de Tien Tao, a restaurant offering a limited menu that has quickly become a focal point in Old Pasadena since opening in January.

Dodger Stadium, located in Elysian Park and opened in 1962, is a must-visit for baseball fans. With a massive 56,000-seat capacity, it's one of the largest MLB stadiums and has been home to the Los Angeles Dodgers since its inception.
Went to Dodger Stadium for the Dodgers v Blue Jays game 3 of a 3 game weekend series. It was absolutely incredible. With the Stadium being old and full of history it was nothing what I was expecting. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. The stadium was clean. The views from outside looking in to the views inside looking out were beautiful. Some of the Dodgers fans got a little hostile when the Jays took the lead which I get as a sports fan but chanting USA and using course language was a little much as a lot of young kids were around. The cherry on top was the Blue Jays avoiding the sweep in an exciting conclusion for a regular season game.A must visit if you are a baseball fan. Go Jays Go!

I went to a game at Dodger Stadium recently, and it was an amazing time. The energy in the stadium is contagious—from the crowd singing along to the national anthem to the excitement building with each pitch, everything felt electric. The stadium itself is iconic. The views are fantastic, especially when the sun starts to set behind the hills. The architecture has a classic charm, you can tell this is a park with history and with character. Food-wise, I got nachos and a beer. Delicious choices, but yes—the prices were steep. Nachos cost more than expected, and the beer wasn’t cheap. Still, consuming them while cheering, surrounded by fans, made it worth it. The amenities and atmosphere were excellent. Plenty of vendors, good sightlines, helpful staff. Even if parking or getting in took a bit of time, once inside it didn’t matter—every moment felt fun. Overall, despite the high cost of snacks and drinks, it was a very fulfilling experience. If you love baseball, camaraderie, and a lively crowd, Dodger Stadium is a must-visit.

A truly fantastic baseball experience from a visiting fan (Phillies). Views inside are fantastic. We had first row seats in the 158 Loge level. Food at the main concourse level is great (garlic fries are a must get). Getting in and out was a breeze, and the fans were awesome. Super cool experience.

An old stadium that just works and has stood up to the test of time! They have so many spots for photo opportunities for you and the family. My one let down was the security gaurd at the gate, he was ultra power trip and couldn't wait to ruin someone's day. Wish I would have gotten a picture hindsight. My buddy was not allowed in with his fanny pack as it didn't fit in the box? He searched it first, then proceeded to demonstrate that it didn't fit, even though it fit. He maneuvered to make it look like it didn't fit and fluffed it to make it look like it didn't fit. Made him walk all the way back to the truck(30minutes away)even after pleading with him. Then when he came back he made him throw away his vape? Been through stadiums and concerts and never seen someone have to throw away their vape. Of course you cannot smoke them but never seen them have to be thrown away. You can even go through airport security with them? There was no talking to this guy so he threw it away(note these are not cheap, around $40) definitely brought the energy down after having start the game experience with this. Some consistency in training and maybe a supervisor readily available in the event there is a question. Just typing this up brings back the level of frustration. Sad. The rest of the experience was dope. Dodger dogs are just part of the experience. Still get to get your ice cream in the baseball helmets and dont forget about the nachos in the bigger helmet! Oh and dont walk to the stadium as the uphill slope is not fun lol. Just park there for $35. (Pro tip)

2nd-best setting in American sports. An iconic stadium dripping in celebrated history around every corner - the Dodgers truly embrace nostalgia. You can bring in unopened water and food in a clear "stadium-size" bag so save yourself money and grab some sandwiches and snacks before going in. Buying food and drinks at the stadium, after paying for the seats, is an adventure in fiscal suicide, but you go because you're a rabid Dodgers fan or baseball fan. Sit at the top of the stadium or in the outfield seats with the true fans, repping Valenzuela jerseys and laughing and cheering throughout the game. Sit in the outfield during a game against San Diego or San Francisco, you won't regret it. The drive to and from the stadium sucks, the prices are insane, but the ambiance of the organ played throughout, the fun-loving fans and the top of stadium views are nearly unbeatable.

I visited the Stadium with my family and had a great experience. The staff was knowledgeable and welcoming, and the team provided excellent care. Parking was simple and convenient, and we were in and out quickly. The only thing I didn’t try was the food, which seemed a bit overpriced, but overall it was a smooth and enjoyable visit.

I want to take this time to make this 5 star review because I was there on 9/20/25 in which it was a good experience and I went with my dad because he won a ticket raffle with Coca Cola. I’ve been a dodger fan for so long that now, I can finally say I was there watching everything live. Everything was well organized that now I want to go watch another game in person. But yeah overall a good experience at the Dodgers Stadium.

Great venue! We've been for a cirque performance, a comedy show and America's Got Talent. It's a classic venue with great acoustics. There is plenty of room to see your favorite actors and shop for memorable items. The atmosphere was great and very intimate to feel like it is more special and personal. The staff was amazing, food was great, and the facilities were very clean. There is plenty of parking and the rates are reasonable. The area it is located in is very safe and easy to find on a map. It is accessible and there are great dining ventures on the outskirts of the convention center.

The museum deals with Californian artists and art and the influences the State has had on the art scene. The exhibits are usually very interesting and they've had many amazing works here, from modern art to Catalina tiles, to Californian watercolors. Definitely worth checking out. There's a mural in the parking lot inside the building and if that's full, there's a parking structure across the street as well as street parking.

Wish it was more bigger, seems very expenisve for such a small place. Didn't like the atmosphere. Normally in museums you have guides helping you understand more about the art and ask if the visitor have any questions or concerns. But in here I thought the guide was just there to guard and following me around if I was going to do something to the art. Not a good experience.
Erendira D — Google review
This Museum will permanently closed on October 7th. So if you read this after that you are out of luck. There is a parking lot as well as underground parking both are free. It's a small Museum and very easy to accomplish in an hour or so. There are no restaurants in the museum itself. But you're in Pasadena so there are many in walking distance. There is a very nice museum store but once again 10/7/ 18 is it's closing day.

My wife and I spent a couple of very enjoyable hours at the PMCA when we visited last month. They had a very interesting retrospective of work by Claire Falkenstein, an artist whose work we were not familiar with. The museum had a wide selection of excellent works in a variety of media. It was very well presented, along with a video on her career. In a smaller gallery was a collection of photographs by Brett Weston. We plan to go back the next time we are in the LA area.

Its historic and classy ambiance creates a nostalgic experience.
The Pasadena Civic Auditorium has been around since 1932, and you can feel its history the moment you see it. It’s a beautiful building — grand but not over-the-top, with classic architecture that really stands out. When we stopped by, there were groups of graduates taking photos on the steps, and it just fit — the place has a sense of celebration about it. The columns, the layout, the soft glow of the old stone — it’s the kind of building that makes you pause. Even if you’re not going to a show, it’s worth a visit. It’s one of those places that reminds you how much charm Pasadena has tucked into its corners.

We flew down from Norcal yesterday to attend the live performances for Americas Got Talent show, week two. Driving from the Burbank airport takes around 30 minutes, depending on traffic. We got there early enough to walk about two blocks to grab a sandwich at a local café. Unfortunately, I forgot to jot its name down... So, parking was easy breezy. We parked at the underground parking lot for the Civic Auditorium. $15.00 flat rate and plenty of spaces available. If you're going specifically for the AGT show know that you should get in line for the 2:00 seating at around 1:30. There will likely already be a sizeable line but it flows well and moves quickly. They might have this next information in their online FAQ. I don't recall seeing it. So, go online to get your "priority ticket". My ticket was good for two. That ticket will get you to the line outside the Auditorium that I mentioned above. You will then work your way up to a couple of tables where you will exchange your online "priority ticket" for an actual printed Auditorium ticket. That ticket with have your seating location. ie: we had Row 3 Seat 17&19 LL LC. Meaning we were in the middle section of the balcony, three rows up. Great view from all seats, beat I could tell. What I didn't see is the part where you then have to wait until 3:15 before they actually open the doors for the Auditorium seating... it actually worked our ok. While we were sitting outside on a little wall in the shade, Howie Mandel pulled up in his black suv. And bodyguard. I was able to snap a couple of photos as we walked by. Don't expect to come and kick back and have a leisurely afternoon while your at the show. I won't spoil the rest for you. Come on out and check it out! We saw the 11 acts for week two. Mama Duke got the Golden Buzzer from Mel B.

Wow! We went to America's Got Talent at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. It was great! Its a beautiful building inside and out.The seating is set up so no matter where you sit, you can see it all. Staff was very nice. We had a great time. Thanks Pasadena, thanks AGT!

Absolutely stunning theater! Went to watch a live recording of my favorite podcast MY Favorite Murder, for the first show had seats on the floor, right center and they were amazing seats!! We also went to the 2nd show and those seats were up in the balcony, also right center. That's the view in the pics. ***note to event planners *** if someone purchases tickets to both shows playing that night, you should have a priority line for them to get their tickets scanned so they don't have to walk all the way around the corner, down to the NEXT corner to get in line. Though I did meet my daily step goal for the day, perhaps it was a blessing. Amazing show, beautiful venue!

We had our Citizenship Ceremony there we started lining up at 11am and our ceremony was at 12:15pm but started until 1:45pm and lasted about an hour, the place it’s nice and cool inside we were 2199 people, over all a great experience.

The Pasadena Civic Center has a great Orchestra and Loge/Balcony layout. I have had various orchestra seats and Loge seats that were fabulous. I have been to several "America's Got Talent" tapings where the stage lighting and effects are amazing. It holds about 3,000 people. There is parking across the street in Paseo Colorado for $12 (less if you get validated by a shop or restaurant).

Fair Oaks Pharmacy, located in South Pasadena, has been a local landmark since 1915. Originally known as the South Pasadena Pharmacy, it has evolved over the years to include a soda fountain and lunch counter serving classic diner food and ice cream treats. The pharmacy also features a compounding pharmacy and a selection of retro memorabilia for sale. Situated on the corner of Fair Oaks Avenue and Mission Street, this old-timey mom-and-pop shop is a popular stop along historic Route 66.
110 year old soda fountain still making sarsaparilla the old fashioned way. It’s like stepping back in time. Ice cream is Thrifty’s. Who doesn’t love Thrifty’s ice cream? And just about every retro candy and tchotchke you can imagine.

Fair Oaks Pharmacy (est 1915) is a family owned and the oldest landmark in South Pasadena. It’s a vintage corner shop that offer soda fountain, ice cream, candy, toys, merch & pharmacy shop on Fair Oaks avenue. I have walked past by this shop for years and never actually walk-inside until today. The best place to enjoy a sundae, shake, banana split or simple cone is a vintage soda shoppe. Once you step through the doors at Fair Oaks there is a distinctively different vibe. Staff were energetic and friendly. I’m glad a visited this shop. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and I recommend them.

Established in 1915, Fair Oaks Pharmacy & Soda Fountain stands as a cherished landmark along historic Route 66 in South Pasadena. This vintage establishment seamlessly blends its original role as a pharmacy with the nostalgic charm of a classic soda fountain. The interior, adorned with retro décor, offers a delightful step back in time. The menu boasts a variety of classic American fare, including hearty sandwiches, burgers, and the renowned Kitchen Sink Sundae, a decadent dessert featured on the Food Network. Beverage enthusiasts can indulge in hand-dipped milkshakes, malts, and traditional ice cream sodas. For a unique twist, the buttered popcorn milkshake is a must-try. Yelp Beyond its culinary offerings, the pharmacy's vintage candy selection and nostalgic toys evoke fond memories for many visitors. Whether you're a local or a traveler, a visit to Fair Oaks Pharmacy & Soda Fountain promises a delightful experience that marries history with indulgence.

Been going to soda fountain for years, now I go when in Pasadena. Arrived about 4pm, ordered my family were eating treats. About 4:30 a family with children came they were told fountain closed. At 4:50 people who are friends with male soda jerk, as they hugged. The friends were made malts. Really bad customer service.

Located off Route 66, Fair Oaks Pharmacy is a throwback to mid-century road culture. They offer old timey offerings such as toys, candies, and tchotchkes. They have a soda fountain, too! Give their egg creams a try.

So, I was out for a while without sunscreen and didn’t realize until my face and arm got pretty burnt. I went to this pharmacy looking for something to cool and soothe the burn. Had to wait in line for about 15 minutes but this lady working there suggested aloe vera gel, I decided to trust her and honestly, it helped a lot. Still, I guess I better stick to using sunscreen next time.
Carlos G — Google review
Great ready for a treat! Fair Oaks Pharmacy has been serving since 1915 and a great start/end to Route 66. Apart from the Soda fountain, they have a ‘Celebration of Pop Culture’ room with purchasable retro memorabilia from 50s to the 90s! Try out items like the Coca Cola Sundae or an old fashioned ice cream float, where else would you get them!
Anirudh K — Google review
Fair Oaks Pharmacy is a classic location. Ice cream parlor with a real pharmacy. Brings back nostalgic feelings of the old days. They have a great selection of desserts, the portions are huge, be for warned. The ice cream is very average tasting, not to say it taste bad. They also have a selection of regular food, such as burgers and fries. The rest of the pharmacy has toys and gifts, nicnacs and other Route 66 related merchandise. I appreciate the old games and toys, the stuff you may had found in the 50’s. The atmosphere is so delightful. Fun for a date, family or just friends getting together to eat the most expensive dessert I’ve ever seen “the sink” costing a whopping $35. (See picture below)

If you're seeking a unique and off-the-beaten-path attraction in Pasadena, look no further than the 'Fork In The Road.' This distinctive public art installation stands at the intersection of St. John Avenue and Pasadena Avenue, resembling an enormous 18-foot-tall fork. Originally placed by locals Bob Stane and Ken Marshall, this quirky sculpture was temporarily removed but reinstated in 2011 with proper approvals.
It was interesting to find a fork with a meatball in the middle of the road. The fork is about 18 ft. The material doesn't seem too steady and I won't reccomend sitting on the meatball. Parking can be an issue because you have to park on the street . It is a cool roadside attraction after all:) ••• Updated 🌟𝔽𝕆ℝ𝕂 𝕀ℕ 𝕋ℍ𝔼 ℝ𝕆𝔸𝔻🌟 •••𝙿𝚊𝚜𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚗𝚊,𝙲𝙰••• 》The 18-foot wooden fork stands right where the roads split, literalizing the “fork in the road.” Originally placed by locals Bob Stane and Ken Marshall without the consent of the city, the statue was temporarily removed but has been replaced since the builders purchased the pertinent insurance and blessings from city officials....and since my last visit is still there October 2022

Greeting those to usually drive by towards the inner city of Pasadena is a fun, cheery idea brought to life in a form of a literal giant fork in the road located at an actual fork in the road. It's definitely not everyday you see something but worth stopping to admire. It is walkable but you have to be wary of the limited parking that surrounds this block as well as the various plant life that inhabits its surroundings. I suggest parking near one of the residential streets and giving it a minute walk just to get to this majestic piece. Once you get up close though, it'll just feel surreal especially if you get a side-by-side shot!
Kenny L — Google review
I mean, as you would expect, it is merely a MASSIVE fork in the road. But honestly it is one of the cooler odd things that I have come across on my travels and a lovely destination to walk towards if you just want to explore Pasadena. On your walk towards this landmark you will see several different areas of Pasadena, both rich and poor, and definitely feel how different the vibe of Pasadena is in comparison to the rest of LA. So be sure to check this random fork out haha, havent seen one anywhere else and honestly i'm here for the wordplay 😁🍴🍴

La Casita Del Arroyo, a gem tucked away in Lower Arroyo Park, is a stunning representation of Spanish Revival architecture that beautifully embodies community spirit. Designed by the esteemed architect Myron Hunt in 1933, this charming center showcases Mediterranean-inspired elements like terracotta roofs and arched doorways. Surrounded by lush gardens along the banks of the Arroyo Seco, it offers a serene escape.
I went here briefly to help setup for a meeting. However, I met the property manager who was on her job and very helpful! The view was great and facilitates were clean and comfortable. I'd suggest for a meeting or training for sure!

BEAUTIFUL place. The area itself is beautiful and the vast garden and walking path is amazing. You can host anything there from a conference to a wedding. Just don't park there after your event because they will lock you inside the gated parking area. That was my experience. I had to call 911 to get me out. I went for a walk after my event (which ended at 4pm) and when I returned (around 5pm) staff locked the gates and I was stuck. They saw my car and the park was still supposed to be open but they locked me in and left anyway. It took 2 hours for me to get out. I live 2 hours away. I must say the police that were on the scene were very nice. They did an investigation afterwards because this apparently happens a lot.

This has a great view of the Pasadena Bridge and some wilderness. There are some flowers outside and a small parking lot. There's a hall, but there was a private event being held,so I couldn't see inside.

This is a magical place that is relatively unknown to most people, but a perfect spot for a small retreat, reunion, wedding or conference. It burned, and was rebuilt since my wife and I were married there in 1978, but it appears from the pictures to have the same charm it did on our special day.

La Casita Del Arroyo is a wonderful and historic rental venue. I believe it has a maximum occupancy of 80 people and it does allow alcohol with an increase in the deposit. You need to bring your own tables and chairs and your event must end by 10pm. It is located in a beautiful residential area of Pasadena and it has 35 parking spaces. The venue was built during the great depression and is constructed of locally sourced river rock. The venue has spectacular views and beautiful garden areas. You must be a Pasadena resident to rent the venue.

Nestled in Pasadena, Millionaire's Row, also known as Orange Grove Boulevard, is a stunning showcase of the city's affluent history. This picturesque avenue is adorned with grand mansions and lush gardens that reflect the architectural elegance of various styles such as Victorian, Craftsman, Mediterranean, and Spanish Revival. A leisurely drive or stroll along this boulevard allows visitors to soak in the rich glamour of yesteryears while admiring iconic residences like the Wrigley Mansion.
Orange Grove Boulevard is a beautiful location to take walks, it is peaceful and there are plenty of trees including the House for the Tournament of Roses. Full disclosure report: I volunteer with Pasadena Heritage and here's why: PH is celebrating 40 wonderful years, and counting, of architecural, historic and community preservation, education and advocacy. A pioneer in the establishment of HPOZs (historic preservation overlay zones) that give neighborhoods like North Pasadena's Bungalow Heaven charm, and added value in both value, and historic context. PH is also in the forefront of sustainable, historic building repurposing. Craftsman Weekend, in early November, is always a "must-do, must see" event. Informative, volunteer-docent-lead walking tours, through the Rose City's intriguing pockets, are given throughout the year. Recent tours have included mid-century courtyard living and landscaping, and special focus on the work of Greene and Greene, and Wallace Neff. Volunteering and membership enables you to meet great folks who love art, architecure and history. Pasadena really does treat culture and education like a true community utility.

The institution's involvement with NASA's Jet Propulsion Library and various astronomical observatories demonstrates its cutting-edge contributions to these fields.

Fenyes Mansion is a beautiful house museum with period furnishings. It is a great place to visit for ceremony, but it can be difficult to see the actual event from the inside. The mansion is also full of history and art.
An amazing mansion from around 1904. Filled with renaissance revival furniture and a couple of actual renaissance furniture. Woodwork throughout, amazing wall papers, and wood flooring. The tour starts with a presentation of the history of Pasadena and how this house was built. You then tour the first floor with the grand entrance, reception room, dining room, bedrooms, office, and kitchen. Neither the basement or second floor is included in the tour. On the way back to the museum you see the Finnish Folk Art Museum. You only get to look through the windows.

Denis L — Google review
I really wanted to enjoy my visit to the Fenyes Mansion, and I have to say the museum staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. However, my experience was unfortunately overshadowed by one of the mansion staff members who treated me and my group with unnecessary suspicion and rudeness. He accused me of being “dressed up” and assumed I was a celebrity taking commercial photos with our cell phone— which was completely untrue. We made it clear that we were happy to just walk around without taking pictures, especially since there was a wedding shoot happening nearby. Despite that, he told us, very rudely, that the garden was closed to us and pointed at a sign. He even said, “What if you posted your pictures and everyone came here?” — which made it sound like he didn’t want visitors at all. It was a disappointing and uncomfortable experience. The museum staff did apologize and said they hoped we would return another time, but also admitted there wasn’t much they could do about the situation. I love the history and beauty of the museum, but that one encounter left a very negative impression. It’s a shame that such a beautiful place is represented this way by certain staff.

Booked a tour the same day online which was very easy to do. Cost about 20 dollars roughly which I felt was well worth it. My tour guide was Pamela who was fantastic. You do wear plastic covers for your shoes when in the house but they provide this. The tour lasted about an hour and you could take photos. I really enjoyed it, our group was small with lots of chances to ask questions. They can store any bags that you can’t take in the house. There is a toilet and gift shop on site. I really enjoyed this tour and would recommend. It is located in Pasadena a short walk from the Main Street. Thank you Pamela for a very interesting tour of this beautiful historic house.

This library is MASSIVE! It's one of the biggest, if not the biggest, library I've ever been to. This library has four floors of books, a few auditoriums, study rooms, and even a coffee shop right outside. It has a very old school rustic feel to it. I went there to view one of the many programs that they have going on and the auditorium that the program was in was a very nice, large auditorium. I'm definitely going to try to come back here more often.

This public library has a beautiful building, and their staff is excellent. Free wifi is a plus. I first came to this library when I was in high school at Glendale (Hoover HS). Love it since then!
CRAIG H — Google review
Believe it or not, they have a very rudimentary untied-shoes sort of creepy fellow basically living inside the condemned Library who peeks out the window to make sure nobody is sitting on the lawn. It seems like the orders are coming from above that they want to make sure nobody stays on or near the closed Library lawn for very long. If you walk by and take a break, sit down, rest, and  use their Wi-Fi which is still on as a free accessory ( "free" meaning tax-payer benefit) they will forcefully ( not physical force as far as I know, yet ) but without apology, & without normal social etiquette, and without even showing identification, make sure that you leave the PUBLIC premises, (PROBABLY ILLEGALLY because it is public property and the outside is not condemned). They are so DEATHLY AFRAID of becoming like a downtown Los Angeles homeless haven that they have orders to make sure nobody stays on the public lawn and pay a low level security guard (maybe ex-con) to stay inside the library at all times peeking out the window to enforce this (probably illegally), even on New Year's Day the day of the famous Rose Parade when there are thousands of tourists walking to the parade and from the parade back to their cars, as well as to the Rose bowl for the football game. It is freakin CREEPY 👎👎😡👎😡

This is my favorite public library ever. It is so beautiful and the location is perfect. There is an outdoor courtyard with a coffee bar. It is open late (9pm on most weekdays). It is mostly clean and the large hall is the perfect place to work (not too loud but just enough background noise). There are quieter areas for those who prefer. Overall very beautiful library with convenient hours in a very nice part of town.
Conny T — Google review
The staff and service at this iconic library are consistently outstanding. Friendly, helpful - staff will frequently go into the stacks to find a book for me. The reservation service is amazing, with an email arriving in my home overdue warnings, and enough staff on duty that I never have to wait. The building is a historic treasure. What's not to love?!?
Jo N — Google review
Love the inside of this place. Has an old school feel to it that’s great. There’s an Internet cafe of sorts down in the basement if you need to get online. You can print stuff out down there. Lots of study space in multiple different rooms. There’s a meeting room upstairs that can be reserved. Parking can be a pain much of the day here. There’s just not enough parking around. Bathrooms can be unpleasant due to the ever present homeless population that makes use of them. There’s an outdoor courtyard with a tiny cafe.
