Cool Blue Hole Ocho Rios is a popular tourist destination in Jamaica, known for its scenic tropical waterfalls and multiple swimming holes. Nestled in the White River Valley, it offers enchanting views of lush greenery and exotic flowers. The icy blue waters of the river flow through hills, forests, and villages before reaching the Caribbean Sea. This hidden treasure is also referred to as Island Gully Falls, Secret Falls, and Irie Blue Hole.
An absolute must if you are anywhere in the Ocho Rios area - tours/transportation to here can easily be arranged from hotels. This is such a beautiful and peaceful place where you can relax and cool off in the shaded waters below. Just be warned that after heavy rains the cool blue hole can transform into cool brown hole! You will have so much fun jumping from the waterfall! - The guides here do a nice job with this.

This was my favorite excursion in Jamaica! Our tour guide LaShawn was a 14 year old who was super personable and professional. He helped us through the raging water and even encouraged me to jump! This is definitely a MUST DO when you’re here. We rented a car and got tickets online, so we drove there ourselves and didn’t have to worry about a big tour group. Highly recommend!
Reinelle A — Google review
We had a great experience! The tour guides were very patient, friendly, and helpful. Mickey was our primary guide and Jay was the secondary, and both went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and safe. Mickey even went diving to recover my brother’s sunglasses after they were lost during the fall—such a thoughtful gesture! A tip for future visitors: be sure to wear water shoes, as they make the walk up the falls much easier. Our pictures turned out amazing—the photographer did an excellent job capturing the moment, and the fee for all the photos was very reasonable. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that I would highly recommend!

My wife and I visited the Dunn's River Falls, and the Blue Hole on the same day. I have to say, the Blue Hole was the better visit of the two!! It was a wonderful experience! From our guide, to the leap into the water, it was just amazing!
Evan S — Google review
this tourist attraction is very nice and worth the detour! it is not too crowed and the tour only last about 1hr total. you get to jump in the water many times, hike through the waterfalls and enjoy the quite unusual secret jungle hideout feel. the best advice i can give you is when you get out of the tour bus, make sure you leave all your clothes and belongings there and only wear your water shoes. you may bring a cellphone in waterproof case but nothing else.
Marie K — Google review
Would I return? Yes. Will I return? Yes. However, I won't book a tour, just drive up and pay for entrance and life jacket. This agency is amazing, our bus driver was amazing and informative. We did the blue hole and bamboo Rafting and had a great time. I HIGHLY recommend this agency If this is your first time booking or are not familiar with the culture of Jamaica. My only complaint is the constant begging for funds from side vendors playing on your emotions to buy something or the tour guide asking for tips. While going up the blue hole mountain we saw far to make vendors looking to sell something which ruins the scenery and fun of the hike. Even the photo guy, who came out of nowhere, asked for $120 for the photos And then asked for a tip. When I asked if the $120 isn't for him, he said no that's for his boss tip is different. The bamboo Rafting isn't long but it's relaxing. I fell asleep part way which is what I wanted as I was tired and needed to chill. Halfway, we stopped on an island where you can get a massage of some sort but then the side vendors popped up AGAIN asking for purchase. I am sorry to say this but the owner of these areas need to limit or straight up remove some of them. You can only buy so many gifts before you eventually stop caring. With the constant asking for tip you realize you can't plan accordingly, at least financially, properly for these excursion because you never know who's going to ask for a handout.

This place is breathtaking and beautiful. It is such a beautiful and scenic place to enjoy a day our in nature. The water is extremely cold. My family enjoyed jumping into the blue hole and swimming around. The place is located far up in the hills of St. ANNs. The guides at the location are very kind and helpful. I definitely recommend this place for a day of fun and excitement.

Fern Gully is a scenic stretch of road in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, featuring towering fern species that form tunnels along the tranquil route. The three-mile protected national treasure is home to over 300 varieties of ferns and dense rainforest vegetation. Visitors can take a drive through this picturesque gorge and enjoy the lush greenery. Additionally, tourists can explore local communities like Colegate and Walkerswood on their way to Harmony Hill farm in Salisbury St.

Beautiful, relaxing, calming and breathtaking are just a few words that I can use to describe Fern Gully. Every drive through Fern Gully is a whole experience where the whole world slows down. I do hope this area is protected and preserved so that all Jamaicans and tourists can have this experience. There are also a few craft shops where you can grab souvenirs like towels, swimwear etc
Alexia — Google review
Fern Gully is one of my favourite places. The long drive through a fern tunnel with the sunlight peeping through and flickering like stairs is enchanting. This was the old road through to Kingston from Ochi Rios. Whilst the highway gets you to Kingston in a fraction of the time I miss this drive via Fern Gully down to Bog Walk.
Christine M — Google review
Fern Gully is one of the most amazing places I’ve seen. As you drive through, you can feel the temperature change from the cover of the trees. The road is twisty and winding, but it is an incredibly scenic and calming drive. Be sure to stop at the various vendors along the way!

Nestled in the heart of St. Ann, Konoko Falls is a stunning natural attraction surrounded by lush botanical gardens and a small zoo. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque cascading waterfall, which is not only climbable but also features inviting swimming pools. The site also boasts a museum showcasing Jamaican indigenous art and artifacts, as well as a budgie petting and feeding area. Additionally, it offers ample space for various activities such as picnics, wedding receptions, or family reunions.
Awesome experience at Konoko Falls! It was pretty empty so we had the whole waterfall all to ourselves. Perfect for a medium sized group who wants hang in the pools at the base of the waterfall. Easy walk. And the botanical gardens next to the waterfall are gorgeous!
Josiah G — Google review
What a great place to visit. We wenf as part of a cruise excursion and I highly recommend it. The botanical gardens are amazing and informative. For those with some mobility concerns, the garden is well shaded, slow paced, mostly even terrain. The waterfall portion is optional and there is a shady bar area to wait in while the rest of the tour does the falls. The falls are slippery and easier to navigate barefoot or in aqua shoes. Do not recommemd sandals or flip flops. Great for all ages. Well informed, caring tour guides. Bring tip money for a well deserved cash gratiuity at the end.

Went here for an excursion on my cruise on Wednesday. I can not say enough about how beautiful this place is. Our tour guide was phenomenal. If you get the chance to go, don’t hesitate. Do it

Dunn's River Falls is a unique waterfall in the Caribbean where visitors can actually climb the 180-foot high and 600-foot long cascades that empty into the sea. It is one of the few travertine waterfalls in the world, offering a rare experience for travelers. Additionally, nearby attractions like the Green Grotto Caves provide an opportunity to explore natural wonders beyond just the falls.
What a GREAT experience on our visit to Dunn's River Falls, this was my second visit. Big Foot was our guide and Quinn took our video and photos. Both did an excellent job and also provided much humor and laughter. I would highly recommend this adventure and also highly recommend purchasing the video, photos and also included is a short video of places to visit in Jamaica. If you purchase the video and photos and encounter a problem, check your Junk/Spam File, if not there, contact the email on your receipt and they will contact you and send another link. I encountered the problem and they addressed the issue very quickly.

Went on a Saturday morning around 10am. This was the perfect time because it go t really busy after that. Lovely climb. They did well scrubbing the rocks but some parts are still a bit slippery.

Dunn's River falls is so beautiful that I have no words for it. Just be aware of the fact that some stones are more slippery than the others, and even with wearing water shoes at cetera you might still have a hard time.

We had a great time during our Spring break in 2025. Our guide was named Oliver and was very cautious and friendly. He was also very experienced and made it so fun. Our only inconvenience was that we never got our photos and video. A guy named Patrick took our cash, $40 but we never received our photos nor video. Otherwise, our experience would have been a rate of a 5. The waterfalls are gorgeous. Be careful not to give anyone cash!

One of the most beautiful Gardens in St.Ann and in Ocho Rios breathtaking views from the top of the property looking out at the Caribbean Sea, and you can't forget the waterfalls on the property, one of the best botanical gardens I have seen.

Beautiful place for couples, perfect for a mid day picnic. The breath taken water falls is simple amazing. You can take along your kids but the steps to and from the water falls are killer but it's definitely worth the walk.
Tifaney G — Google review
Beautiful gardens with a great waterfall in the 25 acre property. A walk through treasures about 40 minutes. A few beautiful banyan trees there too. The caretaker doesn't give receipts to tourists unless asked for which means the owners aren't really getting all the fund to keep the place maintained. The guard took $20 from a tourist couple and pocketed it.
Hassan A — Google review
Very lush and beautiful garden. Scenic view of Ocho Rios from the hills is breathtaking. However due to the natural state of the water resources that support the pools, i realise that the water cannot be treated as easily as the traditional pools. However, believe greater efforts can be spared to make it more habitable.

If you're in thr Ocho Rios area, this is an absolute must see. It's not only stunning in beauty, it's tranquil and rejuvinating...the diversity of plants and the way they are laid out and cared for will provide hours of memorable photos and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of the tropics and for Jamaica. The gardens are tucked away, which is good thing as it helps keep this jewel of a place vibrant.

The beach offers a range of activities such as banana boat rides, parasailing, tubing, and snorkeling equipment rentals. Visitors can also enjoy picnics under the shade of palm trees and dine at nearby restaurants like Reggae Kitchen and Lounge.
I m marine engineer and i have been 98 countries yet. When i visited ocho rios bay beach, they asked me to entrance fee. Its so strange, i am not going to use any beach services just i want to take some pictures and share to my friends . Why should i pay entrance fee?
Ahmet D — Google review
Walked here from cruise terminal (had to walk past SO many people trying to sell you stuff/taxi/excursions). But once past the large group, you walk a little through town to get to the beach. Probably took us 10-15 min. You can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for pretty cheap ($5-10/chair and $5-10/umbrella or something like that plus have to pay $10 entrance fee). Water was warm and beautiful!
Laura R — Google review
Crystal Blue waters with a clean white sandy beach. Went here for a church trip with some friends on a very busy Saturday, as there were numerous trip buses in the parking lot. There was a bit of a wait to get in, but we eventually got our armbands and got ourselves settled. Even though the venue had a lot of people, there was still enough room to spread out and find an open spot in the water for yourself. My group rented a cabana for the day for about JMD$5200 (USD$32) so that we were able to have a comfy spot to rest our heads and bags; the attendant cleaned it up for us before use, but took ages to give us our receipt, so there was a bit of a mix-up at one point, but that was quickly settled. There were loads of activities to do as there were persons advertising various water adventures you could take part in, like taking photos on a glass boat or water tubing for the adrenaline junkies ☺️ If you wish to take part in these activities, ensure you have extra cash on hand, as they don't take cards to my knowledge. Food is easily accessible once you have on your armband, as you can go off property to purchase food such as KFC, Burger King etc or from any of the local cookshops. The changing rooms as expected were a bit mucky as it's where everyone changed, so it had a slight smell of pee and wet sand on the floor. Just try and balance on your shoes to ensure that doesn't catch your good clothes. There are showers available on both the beach and near the changing rooms. I did not check the bathroom facilities as I used the one over at KFC. It's a fun day and a relaxing day to be had by all, especially if you're there with good friends.

Very popular beach for everyone. You have to pay to go on to this beach as well as your chairs. It’s a crime that you should have to pay to go on a beach in Jamaica! We had a lovely afternoon there, but the fact that we had to pay just didn’t sit well with me.

Beautiful waterfall and some beautiful banyan trees in this tropical little garden. The waterfall is like silk flowing over smooth rocks. Looks like about 10m high in small cascades. The guard and the keepers took $20 from a tourist couple and never gave them a receipt. They also didn't want to give me a receipt for the four of us that went there. No prices upfront to tell you how much it is.

The Garden is beautiful with a picturesque waterfall. However, it would be good if the staff offered a tour. Also, the pools need improvement. More water activity could be accommodated if the venue is renovated. It needs a water concept that is enticing. The most enjoyable part is the scenic venue that gives authentic meaning to "St. Ann being the garden parish.
Ytniad N — Google review
The gardens are beautiful and intresting to explore. If you have the time there is a beautiful pool near the bottom of the waterfall that is fed by a spring. Great way to cool off. So remember a swimsuit. If you are on a tour off a cruise ship you probably won't have time.

Island Village Jamaica is a modern entertainment park in Ocho Rios, designed to resemble a traditional Jamaican coastal village. It features a quiet beach, craft shops, bars, restaurants, a video-casino, art gallery, and an amphitheatre with regular open-air performances. The Reggae Xplosion Museum is also popular among visitors.
Island Village is a quaint Shopping mall. It is unique in that it has are wide variety of places to visit and a wide variety of things to do. There are Jewelry stores, Perfume stores, a convenience store, souveneir stores, a photo studio, cofee shops, restaurants, ice-cream shops (including one that sells Devon House ice-ream and another that sells rolled ice-cream), popcicle stands and much more. There is even a restaurant with a beach and water slides (Margarita Ville). Weekly events such as kareoke nights are also held here (somtimes free of cost). It is a common place for both tourists and locals to come to relax and unwind. It is a good place to go with friends and family and to have events. I want to make special mention of "KK Tavern & Lounge", a restaurant my family and I recently went to, to celebrate my birthday. The outside seating area is situated right by a fish pond and the view was beautiful. The customer service was stellar, the food delicious and very affordable. Their menu consist of mainly Jamaican meals such as chicken & chips, steamed fish, rice and peas and curry goat or stewed pork. I have posted images of this restaurant and the food my family and I ordered. I would 100% recommend.

Mahogany Beach, located on the east end of Ocho Rios, is a small yet lively hangout with palm trees and rentable chairs. This charming public beach offers beautiful views and a range of water sports activities such as parasailing, tubing, jet skiing, and snorkeling. On weekends, it becomes vibrant with music, jerk cooking aromas, and impromptu soccer matches. The beach also provides amenities like parking, showers, and a shop selling beach goods.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – A Hidden Gem with Exceptional Service We spent the day at Mahogany Beach to celebrate both my Wife’s and Daughter’s EarthStrong_Birthday Our visit to Mahogany Beach was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and supported — especially Kevin “19” at the entrance. He was incredibly attentive and went out of his way to assist our daughter who uses a wheelchair, as well as our elderly father who has limited mobility. His compassion and professionalism stood out and set the tone for the entire day. The team didn’t hesitate to let us drive all the way down to the beach to drop off and pick up our family members, which made a huge difference in accessibility and comfort. Their care and accommodation made what could have been a challenge into a smooth and enjoyable experience. And the 500 JMD entry fee includes a beach chair per person — a huge plus and something we really appreciated. The beach itself is beautiful, clean, and relaxing, with calm waters and a local vibe that’s both peaceful and welcoming. Whether you’re looking for a chill day by the sea or a family-friendly spot with a personal touch, Mahogany Beach is the place to go. We will definitely return and highly recommend this beach to anyone — especially those travelling with elderly or disabled loved ones. Truly a hidden gem in Ocho Rios!

This is a nice little beach with a lot of facilities, amenities, there was even party boats docking. The only problem I found was seaweed was very close to the shore, and I was scared of the amount of little fish that were in the water. This may not both others but I felt uneasy about it.
Tee C — Google review
Very small beach and it gets crowded really fast. The staff was extremely helpful, and one of the guys helped us set up our tent. It has a nice gift shop and a restaurant. It was very crowded the day we went and the beach got dirty really fast . There was no running water to clean ourselves of the sand. I think we got hustled we had to pay $1000 just for the cooler..we had no food only water and juice for the kids.
Glimmers G — Google review
Nice beach, but the excursions (jet ski, rafting, photo shoots) as well as the restaurant are extremely over priced and is in USD!!! Cost for beach entry is 500JMD comes with a beach chair. You can bring your own food / drinks inside. Parking is available. Sad I didn’t get to see the floating bar completed
Moiya F — Google review
This beach is picturesque from the entrance to the shore! Warm beautiful water, beach chairs, and a bar with a food menu. There are instagram excursions you can pay for, but I wouldn't. The beach is beautiful enough! The fish sandwich wasn't great, but the drinks were delicious 😋
DrMonëy — Google review
This beach was an amazing experience. Lovely Scenery. Great Customer Service. Have food & drinks. Very affordale to enter and we got beach chairs along with it. The beach is clean. Music is playing. Alot of fun water activities to do!!
Keana C — Google review
We were recommended this beach as a spot to spend the day at in Jamaica. Overall it was a nice way to spend the day at the beach. It's a nice view and there are bartenders that take your order from the beach which is helpful. The drawbacks are that there is quite a lot of trash in the water and surrounding areas. We also had some items stolen from our area while we were swimming which was unfortunate.

The store offers a wide range of products including jewelry, perfume, brand name handbags, premium Jamaican alcohol, and spices. Customers have praised the shop for its beautiful diamonds, stunning jewelry pieces that change colors in different lights, and Invicta watches.
Really Really great place to go shopping. if you're looking for unique and beautiful finds go to jewel palace, my wife purchased this amazing bracelet and a matching ring, the stones change colors brilliantly in different shades of light! And I picked up some Invicta watches, the owner vic is awesome!!
Michael M — Google review
The appraisals are inaccurate. He charges double what the prices are really worth. I bought this ring for my wife which was $5500. He was trying to sell it for $7500. We got back to the states we had it appraised its worth $2950. Don't buy anything here it's not really worth it. He's intentionally robbing people.

Beautiful diamonds with helpful staff. If you go in ask for Bobby he will find you the best piece at the best prices aided perfectly by Nicole and Sabrina, the whole team make shopping their pressure free and provide excellent customer service.

Tajmahal Plaza, located in Ocho Rios, is a visually appealing shopping center with an Indian-inspired aesthetic. It offers a variety of shops ranging from food and souvenir outlets to jewelry stores and Cuban cigar shops. Visitors can explore the diverse range of offerings, including dining options and unique items for purchase. The plaza also provides opportunities for sightseeing and interacting with local street vendors.
This plaza is esthetically pleasing to the eye. Very clean with an Indian inspiration. There are shops from food restaurants, cuban cigars to novelty items and jewelry. Check it out for yourself and enjoy your time in Ocho Rios.

Total scam with the support of tour guides and drivers. We were told to buy only from one particular shop as they will give us discount. Little did I know they marked everything 200% up and then gave 50% off. After shopping at that shop I was curious and checked the next shop, the same item was marked as the price I paid after 50% off.
Sunitha K — Google review
It’s a typical tourist hot spot to catch everyone walking off the cruise ship, they have them at all cruise ports. We spent the first hour looking around all the shops comparing prices before actually committing we Liked a wooden vase that was $50 most places with a “special” at $25. After checking all the shops out we got it for $16 so just haggle and do research first! We enjoyed it if nothing else.
Marc A — Google review
Tried to charge me $80 for a $13 bottle of rum and when she realized she got caught tried to work out a “deal” with me. I walked out buying nothing. They have a good selection but you need to know what prices should be and haggle them down even then still unreasonable cheaper shops are right down the road
Alyssa S — Google review
Tourist attraction, high priced trinkets, jewelry and souvenirs. Some good spots to grab a bite or drink though!

If you use a debit or credit card, pay CLOSE attention to your receipt. Not sure if accidental or intentional, but the decimal point was moved. Immediately notify your bank or credit card company of any disputes. The merchant would not respond to my correspondences.
Linda H — Google review
The workers in this plaza only have one mission that you buy from them 😅 the prices are high but it is a tourist place. The service of all the local people is very good and they help you with whatever you need.
Yordanis A — Google review
Lots of shops and a couple of good places for coffee and a meal. Souvenir shops tend to sell the same items. But it is fun to drop by if you are in the area

The beach offers various amenities such as chair rentals, food service, and opportunities for fun activities like water sports and sunbathing.
Love this beach!!! Clean and nice
Ranjini C — Google review
Really nice beach for the entire family. There is a cost to enter. Kids under 4 free. There are tables and chairs that are free, but if those are occupied, you have to pay for a beach chair. There are lifeguards and water sports that you can engage in besides swimming. Beach is clean, and the ocean isn't too rough. There are some chnaging rooms and showers (could be better though) . Nice beach, lots of space. Nice vibe
Phill — Google review
Great beach!!! Come early to get a shady spot. NEW: no re-entry.
