Beer hall
Pub
La Capsule Lille is a charming and rustic-chic bar located in Vieux-Lille, offering a comprehensive collection of craft beers and charcuterie plates. The bar is known for its vaulted brick cellar with exposed wooden beams, creating a cozy atmosphere. It features 28 craft brews on tap, including local options with various flavor profiles such as tart, roast, and smoked notes.
It’s my favorite craft beer bar in Lille. I’ve been here twice. There are almost 30 beers on tap that you can find on Untappd. They also have food. The staff are overall pretty nice and knowledgeable about the beer. Only 4 stars because there’s this one time where I asked a guy at the bar if I can try one beer on the tap (this is common practice in craft beer bars I think) and he said no and expressed it in a not so nice way.
Charriz B — Google review
An excellent selection of beer styles from local breweries and great service. A must stop if you're a beer drinker visiting Lille.
Ryan M — Google review
Probably one of the bigger craft beer pubs in Lille, with 20+ draft beers. Mainly French craft breweries, with a very nice variety of styles. Styles are marked with clear icons. You can ask for a small taster to sample if you prefer a beer. Prices are very fair. Cosy atmosphere, nice seating area at the bar or windows.
Koen K — Google review
I love this bar! We've been to Lille twice and wouldn't miss a visit. Excellent, friendly service and superb beers, which are varied and well priced. Beer lovers will love this fab bar, we will 100% be back next time we are in Lille!
Gill S — Google review
Made reservation for atmospheric cellar bar. Good table in a popular spot. Warm reception. Excellent selection of beers. Very limited but tasty bar snacks - previous reviews suggested more. Overall a great craft beer bar.
Ellen W — Google review
Great place, vibrant and full of quality beers!
Ana B — Google review
Food rating is not relevant as this is only a beer bar but the beer is very good! A wide selection of both local and international beers, nice atmosphere, very cosy. Must-try place for any beer lover.
Thomas P — Google review
A nice place where the hosts know about their beer. Almost 24 beers on tap, it's one of the best draft beer places you can find in Lille and highly recommended to visit if you are into beer. It's unfortunate that tasting plate is not available on weekends; other than that..it's a cool place to have some nice craft beer with good options.

Célestin is a microbrewery located in the quiet Rue Jean Jacques Rousseau, Lille. The brewery offers a wide variety of its own craft beers as well as imports from France, Belgium, and around the world. One of their notable brews is La Dix lager, which has made it to the beer menu at a three Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris.
This was one of our best experiences in Lille. We loved chatting beer, food and Lille itself with our guide Mark. The beer was amazing and it was genuinely interesting to hear about the passion that goes into it. Don't let this slip from your Lille itinerary.
Peter C — Google review
Cheers to them! They helped me choose among their artisanal beers and on top of that, after a friendly chat, they made an extra effort to find me dinner in the city. Super recommended
Francesca M — Google review
Passed by this place and ended up buying a lot, the owner is warm & welcoming, also very happy to have discussions about his unique creations 😊, we can see that he is absolutely passionate about his craft. Price is alright for craft beer!
Cicil T — Google review
This is a Micro Brewery and a bottle shop as well. When you come in you will walk first to a small bottle shop with a decent selection of beers. Then on the back there is an equally small room that houses the brewery. Everything about this place it's small. You can do a small demonstration of the brewery with an accompanied beer tasting. You can only drink in the brewing room. No drinking allowed at the bottle shop. It an interesting place nevertheless.
Julio J — Google review
Amazing brewery and beer tasting! We were a large group of 15 people and it was the highlight of our trip to Lille. The tasting was really well done, all learnt a lot and the beer was amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Lille to stop by and pick up a few of the local beers/ if you have time do the tour.
Isabelle M — Google review
Home brewed beers, made in the old town of Lille, a bit expensive, don't know if they're worth it because there's such a great choice of beers in this region. Nice to think they're making beers in the heart of Lille.
Gary H — Google review
Excellent selection of beers, from an in-house brewery, to a selection of local and regional beers, all the way to Asian and Australian beers. The staff are excellent advice too, just ask for help and they're happy to show you around
Gaeel — Google review
They really do brew (experimental batches) here. It smells like a brewery! Take note other ‘in house brews’! Eclectic range and a friendly lass to help choose.

Located in the Vieux-Lille, BEERSTRO - Taverne Moderne offers a unique concept where you preload a magnetic card and then play bartender by choosing from their fourteen craft beer taps. If that's not enough, there are 70 bottles from breweries around the world. This modern tavern provides a convivial atmosphere, simple cuisine with fresh ingredients, and an extensive selection of 14 draft beers and bottled beers.
We had a wonderful experience at Beerstro 14—excellent service, Vivien looked after us very well! Delicious food. Well done! We’ll gladly return and highly recommend it.

Stopped in about 4:00 after a long day of travel and found the perfect spot to wind down and relax. Love the self-serve taps, and the staff was super patient and helpful. Haven't tried the food yet, but we will soon be back sitting on the shaded patio enjoying a burger or plat du jour.
David L — Google review
Great place to try beers and a tasty lunch. The staff were also super helpful. Make sure to try the carbonnade flamande. Would come back again just for that
Andrew M — Google review
Nice staff, efficient service and nice concept with a card to try different beers 🍻 and can choose which ones to try and the amount. Also love the starters that are at a reasonable price. Only disappointment was their champagne was served in a beer glass rather than a champagne 🥂 flute.
Anony M — Google review
This place is a must for its unique beer tap self service concept. Well done for the great concept, we feeled welcomed and the food is good, as it is 'fait maison' with fresh product. We had a great time being there today and will certainly be back soon, wish the team a good continuation, Isabelle
Isabelle L — Google review
It was a fun experience with a cozy atmosphere and nice service. English speaking and nice of them to explain how things work around. You need to draft your own beer from the 12 Taps available using a card. Such a nice experience and if you know how to draft a beer, it comes handy. Priced based on amount of quantity, so also super nice.

First time in Budapest but researched the best steak before we came and it did not disappoint ! It’s my partners birthday tomorrow too which I noted on our reservation and Suzy surprised him with dessert. 10/10 wish we could come back next week ! X
Lauren M — Google review
We loved this place. The food was excellent pub food, particularly incredible chips and the steak tartare...oh my. I has a really nice terrace for when the weather is good and a lovely area which is covered but kind of half in, half outside. My only reservation is that I just don't get the "pour your own beer" concept. Pouring a good pint is actually quite tricky and all too easy to f**k up. I can't help but think it would work for any other drink except beer but, hey, if you want wine they have plenty and they'll even pour it for you.

L'Abbaye des Saveurs is a beautifully restored old town in Lille, offering trendy luxury boutiques in narrow streets. Visitors can find designer shops like Violette, Essentiel France, American Vintage, Brandy & Melville, Serie Noire, El Lugar for jewelry, and Nathalie de Ruyffeleare for hats and accessories. Rue de la Grande Chaussee features luxury brands such as Hermes and Louis Vuitton.
I visited Lille in September with a friend and really enjoyed this small beer shop in old Lille. The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly, there are a couple of tables outside to sit and enjoy your drink or you can take it away. A cool place to contribute to a local business.
R M — Google review
This place is excellent. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable, and they have a great selection. The location is great and near plenty of places to grab food before or after your beer. Very chill vibe. Great for lambic drinkers, but they have plenty of options regardless your particular preferences
Eric B — Google review
After you have ordered beer, the waiter tells you that you need to order food. They tell you the price before ordering and double it when you pay. Unhelpful and rude staff. So many other good beer places in Lille - STAY AWAY from this one!
Oda E — Google review
It's Friday today and it was already closed at 22.20. What a joke and waste of time.
John R — Google review
Excellent selection and very helpful staff. Just keep in mind you need to order a bit of food to drink here!
Michael B — Google review
Perfect place for beer lovers. Set in a picturesque lane in the town centre there is a dazzling selection of beers that the staff can talk you through and make a tailored selection to your tastes. The guys know their beer inside out and can also speak English. They also have delicious snacks to accompany your drink - the saucisson was outstanding. I was made to feel very welcome and will definitely be back next time I am in Lille.
Jamie B — Google review
Nice place to enjoy choosing some good beers to take away...
David M — Google review
A must place to visit in Lille. Great beer selection and brilliant staff who are super friendly. They discuss your tastes and choose beers for you on that basis. Visited several times and never disappointed by their choices. You can also choose your own beers from their extensive selection if you wish. 10/10

Nestled in the heart of Lille, 3 Brasseurs is a vibrant and inviting spot that captures the essence of regional cuisine paired with locally brewed beer. This popular chain, primarily found in northern France, offers a delightful menu featuring traditional dishes like welsh and carbonnade flamande. The warm ambiance is enhanced by decor showcasing beer barrels, creating an authentic brasserie experience. During my visit on a Sunday afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety available.
It is 3rd time me to visit this place. I lived in Lille just more than a year. And if I want to drink a beer I don’t need to think of any other place to go. The beers are perfect always and the services are always wonderful! It is strange because there are lots of employees are working but every time when I’m here Jordan is serving on our table. As always he makes us happy !! Merci beaucoup Jordan ❤️ À bientôt!!! Ah! VISIT before 7pm, you can save 2 euros for your beer 50cl !! It is happy hours ❤️❤️

If you visit on the weekend, make a reservation. It's crowded. But it's pleasant! And I'm so happy that I was recommended to try mussels when I come to Lille. Actually, I was sad because I thought there was no mussels, but there was a very small part of mussels, and I ordered a classic one. The taste was the most delicious thing I had in Lille, and the champagne and red beer I ordered before the meal went well with the food and it was delicious. I was sitting near the kitchen, but I ordered mussels and everyone seems to eat a lot of hamburgers, so I'm going to try hamburgers next time. But you know what? Mussels that are non-mainstream were so delicious, and I'm looking forward to seeing how delicious hamburgers will be!!!!!

Decent Beer, Classic European Attitude I ducked in to avoid the rain and was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of beers available for tasting. That part was definitely a plus. Unfortunately, it came with the usual European service coldness. Let’s just say the staff made it clear we weren’t really welcome to stick around. Good beer but don’t expect any smiles.
Jinn K — Google review
Absolutely amazing spot for comfort food with a fun twist! The dishes are *so* good you'll be licking your fingers. From poutine and burgers to mixed meat platters and small dish “platas,” everything is full of flavor and creativity. What really stands out is the beer selection—each dish comes with two recommended beer pairings, and there’s a great variety to choose from. The desserts are also a treat, with plenty of options and some fun surprises. Food came out fast, hot, and delicious. Our server was super friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for hearty, flavorful food and a good time!
Nina A — Google review
One of our favourite bars and restaurants in Lille. Great home brewed beer, recommend the rouge personally but quite sweet compared to other rouge beers. Two doors next to one another and if there is a queue head to the one on the right, most people seem to not even know it's there! Poutine is absolutely 10/10, for a beer and cheese fix this is your place. Service can be quite slow but we don't mind, usually testament to how busy their are!
Rebecca G — Google review
This is a fantastic place if you are in the mood for comfort food with a fun twist. The food was delicious, it came out quickly from the kitchen after placing the order, and our helpful server had a great attitude. If you want fun Poutines, Burgers (there's even a vegetarian burger that looks divine with a red pepper sauce ladled on top) or a thin but crispy flatbread concoction, this is the place for you. After lunch we had a café that comes with 5 miniature desserts. The creme brulee was delicious, and the pastries were unique and tasty.
Vanessa F — Google review
Food is well priced but average quality! Waiter was friendly but it takes long time to service!

Tea house
MEERT, located in Roubaix, France, has a rich history dating back to 1849. The famous waffles from Meert have a long tradition and were even supplied to the royal family in nearby Belgium for a while. The shop on Rue Esquermoise not only offers delicious waffles but also houses a historic tearoom and a restaurant. Visitors can enjoy the delightful experience of tasting these renowned delicacies with a fascinating historical background.
We had to queue for about 20 minutes, but it is a lovely tea room and all the cakes looked amazing! I opted for hot chocolate & their famous filled waffles which were really good! I went back the next day and got some to take home! The vanilla one reminded me of a custard cream biscuit! I do wish I tried one of their cakes too!
Sophie F — Google review
Great place for photography. Ok stroopwaffles, nice location Méert Lille is pure old-world elegance — a place where history, craftsmanship, and indulgence come together beautifully. Stepping inside feels like entering a living postcard from another era, with its ornate interiors, charming service, and irresistible aroma of freshly baked treats. The signature gaufres (waffles) are ok… The pâtisseries and chocolates are equally ok…, each one crafted with remarkable finesse and balance. Pair them with a perfectly brewed coffee or tea, and it’s an experience that lingers long after you leave. Whether you’re here for a quiet afternoon indulgence or to pick up a beautiful gift box, Méert captures the timeless art of French sweetness. An iconic Lille institution — elegant, delicious, and unforgettable.
Rodney L — Google review
Very wonderful bakery shop / cafe like a creation of art. The displayed pastries were so perfectly arranged and looked delicious. The chandeliers, glass work enhanced the look of the boutique further. The open air garden cafe very nice , staff kind and polite , helpful. In the shop the goods are well displayed with price tags so easy to identify. The display shelves are so pretty and the colour combination very unique. Overall this is more like a pretty waffle or bakery museum and I loved my time here. I enjoyed vanilla waffle . Wanted to sit down in garden cafe so had also queued for the waiting line but it rained heavily suddenly so left in the middle and this time happy only with the wonderful waffle, will return next week or soon for a coffee and pastry .
Mamata B — Google review
Magnificent. If you’re visiting Lille and would like some exquisite pastries and sweets, then consider visiting Meert. It is much better than some of the other/more expensive tourist traps. It’s situated in a beautiful building, which has been decorated beautifully.
Dan — Google review
A true jewel in the heart of Lille! Meert is as much about the atmosphere as it is about the sweets. The interiors are simply breathtaking—opulent chandeliers, historic wooden decor, classical sculptures, and ornate ceilings that transport you to another era. Whether you’re seated inside the regal tea salon or strolling through their boutique, the ambiance is a visual feast. I tried the coffee and their signature vanilla and raspberry-filled waffles—a delightful treat that lives up to its reputation. The coffee was beautifully presented and smooth, and the raspberry waffle had just the right balance of tart and sweet. Perfect for a special outing or if you’re looking to indulge in a bit of old-world French charm. A must-visit if you’re in Lille.✨
Harshini K — Google review
How can this be anything but 5*? The pastries, the service, the setting, the shop, the history, everything is impeccable and the price point is reasonable. I think Meert may be a victim of its own reputation, as it is busy and people clearly expect perfection, but in our experience it lived up to it, and of all our culinary experiences in Lille this will be the one I remember forever.
Geoffrey B — Google review
The mille-feuille was absolutely delicious, and the éclair was good, but I didn’t really like the dark chocolate. I really enjoyed the waffle because it was unique and different from the usual. The atmosphere of the place was wonderful, and the best part was the excellent service. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it in time for lunch.
Mohammad S — Google review
The food here was decent – both the main course and dessert were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. What really took away from the experience, though, was the attitude of one of the staff members, who came across as quite arrogant. I was hoping for a warmer, more inviting atmosphere, but everything felt a bit cold and flat. For the price point, I expected better service and a more enjoyable overall experience.

The menu features locally sourced dishes and inventive house-brewed beers that elevate the dining experience. Guests can indulge in delightful offerings like crispy fries served with a generous helping of light Maroilles sauce, making it a favorite among locals.
Nice inventive quality food even if you must order at the counter and get your food at the kitchen the place is minimalisticly great. My reservation was supposed to be for upstairs but we were seated downstairs. The food we ordered downstairs is good probably after 10 beers but not good after 2. Very rich & heavy. Unfortunately not good for a proper dinner. Also there was a lot of chaos and disorganisation amongst the staff, which we witnessed. We had not been well attended to by certain staff members so make sure that if you have an upstairs reservation, then definitely go upstairs yourself. Hopefully the food is better there too.
Anna A — Google review
We didn’t expect the portions to be soo big. We had a hard time trying to finish the food, and we couldn’t 🤣 The cheese sauce for the fries wasn’t a good choice, next time we will try another sauce. We came here because we wanted to try Welsh (right side), but it’s not for us. It was interesting to try but it was just too much and too beer-y. We’d love to come back and try other dishes from here 😊 The vibe here was also very nice.
Nhi D — Google review
Has a great vibe, people are friendly. But after I was decisive between beef burger or fried chicken burger, the emoloyee told me to get rhe beef burger, its great. Their beef fat fries are delicious, pizza is also pretty good with the cheese sauce and caramelised onions. Beef burger was horrible, the beef buns were dried out like stale bread, the beef patty was not cooked through, which is okay, but it was so dry the beef patty crumbled and starter breaking, cold and bland flavour. Beetroot ketchup was amazing, but could not save the burger. Toilets are also not very clean, with broken equipment. The staff are very friendly and inviting personalities. But their kitchen needs to move the food once it is ready. I often saw food ready to go, sitting underneath the heat lamp, essentially drying out the food.

Nice alternative place to be. Colorfull interior and nice seats. Different kind of fries, but very tastefull with different kind of sauses.
Happy C — Google review
It’s really about taste … I haven’t really appreciated my experience. The person I was with did liked everything except the dessert 🍮 that was dry from both our points of view. It’s an experience, a complete one. You like it or not- you don’t have any choices except for your choice of drinks (not on the menu) among what is proposed (beers, wines, water ) and choosing to taste a really delicious appetizer , (not on the menu) I have really experienced big chefs food’s. They are always unexpected and impossible to discuss the taste ! But for me, this experience wasn’t fine and yummy 🤤 It’s impossible to adjust to personal taste . It’s a choice of experience I didn’t appreciate. For 28€/pers you have a starter, a main plate ( 3 different plates ) and a dessert. That’s correct . The restaurant was full .
Rockia K — Google review
We ordered, waited there for a whole hour (not exaggerating) and when we asked when our food was coming they told us there was only one guy in the kitchen. A few other people were waiting really long too. 4 waiters outside and 1 guy in the kitchen???? We ended up leaving without having lunch because we had to travel back home. Really unpleasant experience 😞

Unbelievable beer, exceptional food and amazing philosophy. Went twice in 24 hours, would’ve gone far more times were I in Lille longer. Beer list is fabulous, with a nod to locally foraged herbs. Elderberry blonde was the standout, as was the tripel. On the food stakes, the Flemish cuisine shone through. Food was indulgent and sophisticated. Standout restaurant in Lille

Not only do they have a wide range of beers, but they also have great tunes to accompany them. If you're looking for a good place to drink, then B148 is definitely the spot for you!
Don’t pass this place if you’re in the mood for beer! The street work in front and small store front might seem like a turn off. It’s well worth it to stop in. Amazing selection of beers on tap. Very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere to sit, relax, and enjoy a beer.

The large choice of beer is juste amazing. Not only because it is huge but because the beers itself are incredible. They have been choosing it wisely. They exactly know what a good beer is. Trust me, you will never be disappointed to go there with friend or even on your own to try new beers.

They have the best lot of strong craft beers available in Lille as far as I have found untill now. Small cosy and good. Doesn't matter if the beer is 5.0 or 12.8, it's just a flat rate of €6, so not bad at all. You can even go to the laptops and pick your own tunes;)

La Mousse Touch' is a delightful fusion of a beer bar and microbrewery, offering an exceptional experience for craft beer enthusiasts. Nestled in Lille, this charming spot has expanded its offerings to include a diverse selection of regional beers, showcasing local favorites like PVL and Choulette. With up to ten draft options available, including their own unique brews such as the flavorful Berliner coconut pineapple and easy-drinking pale ale, there's something for everyone.
Next door of Britney, lovely craft beer spot with up to 10 draft beers. they also brew themselves on site, we had the berliner coconut pineapple (tasty, full of flavors) and pale ale (pretty good, easy drinking). Good vibes, more beers in cans too in fridge. Possible to eat too, the neighbors fries looked very good. Prices for draft beers are very fair (25 or50cl), 25cl around 4-5 euro

Great beer selection. A nice guy from the staff described everything to us willingly and in detail, he took his time with us even though he was busy preparing for the evening concert. I appreciate that.
Roman P — Google review
Updated Dec 2023: Staff still amazingly friendly, but the beers brewed on site are still among the most offensive I've ever had. It's a process problem. Infections, high ferm temps, whatever it is, it's undrinkable. Ordered a beer, took a few sips, left. Updated Nov 2022: The staff is very nice, but goodness, their "homebrews" are just insulting. Got the DIPA, which shouldn't have made it to the taps. It's not a recipe problem, it's a process problem; quality control is nonexistent. Review July 2021: A strikingly slow and offensively maskless staff (in covid times) serves a few good beers and some subpar homebrews, some of them clearly infected. I wish them the best, but there's a steep climb.

The Delambre Bakery is a must-visit in Lille, drawing both locals and travelers with its exquisite confections. From cakes and tarts to mousses and pastries, the shop offers a delightful array of treats. The warm ambiance invites you to explore their fresh baked goods and delicate chocolates. With seasonal offerings that change regularly, there's always something new to try. One of their summer specialties is transforming cookie recipes into Italian ice cream.
Just wow!! These cookies are truly amazing, perfect if you have a sweet tooth like me. I had the double speculoos which was absolutely loaded with biscoff spread. You may have to queue for a few minutes but it moves very quickly. Definitely worth a wait regardless!!
Molly B — Google review
I would say this cookies are definitely OVERRATED, one cookie cost 4€ and for me they tasted like cookie dough. Didn’t had much flavour if not butter and sugar and the only difference between a red velvet and the New Yorker was the taste of the white chocolate, if not they basically tasted the same. I think you can find much better cookies in Lille and I would not come again
Sofia A — Google review
Great cookie shop if you like soft, almost cookie dough baked cookies. Highly recommend the double speculous - so rich and filled fully with biscoff and chocolate. I would advise sharing one though as they're not for the faint hearted. But still delicious and worth the visit.

One of the best cookies I have ever tried. I would love to come back to try more flavours. They were soft on the inside and not overly sweet.

Le Barbier qui fume Vieux Lille is a popular spot in Lille for meat lovers. The restaurant offers a variety of smoked meats including beef, pork ribs, and entrecote. It's known for its French cuisine, serving dishes like gratin dauphinois and smoked ribs. With two locations in Lille, it's a great place to enjoy quality meat dishes. Visitors can expect excellent food and decent prices at this restaurant.
I tried the salmon fume which was delicious. Price wise, it was worthy as well. Other than food, they were dog friendly, huge plus for me. They do not have an English Menu, which i believe it is a must as Lille is a city break that British people prefer because it is really close to UK.

A good place just to satisfy your hunger. the beef stew was too raw, it needed a little more roast. I ate with my family outside in the street where many people were passing by and it was too comfortable. Otherwise, everything is good, like price and quality.
Gheorghe V — Google review
Very friendly staff. The interior setup, although the building itself is old, is very functional and gets probably the maximum from combining the old and new. I had the spare ribs, but the meat was too dry for me. The taste was very good, but really dry.

Slow food!! We had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant - onglet de boeuf (hanger/skirt steak) with tatin of endives, and choucroute garnie (sauerkraut with smoked meats and sausages). This restaurant specialises in beech wood smoked meat - and the results are terrific!! The service was attentive and the prices are reasonable! This is highly recommended!!

If you’re dining alone or you’re an English speaker, just go—no hesitation! The staff are incredibly friendly, a bit goofy in the best way possible, and make the whole experience feel relaxed and fun. I don’t mean that disrespectfully—it actually adds to the charm. The food and wine are absolutely amazing. I’ve had smoked meats in the Deep South in the States, but their ribs? Something else entirely. Packed with flavor, and unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Le Barbue d'Anvers is a wonderful restaurant known for its hearty dishes, fresh seafood, and extensive beer selection. The two-story building features a bistro-style environment with an interior design that showcases wooden elements and unique ornaments. Some of the exquisite dishes include beer-cooked shellfish with vegetables and a delicious duck dish with potatoes, artichokes, and truffles.
Le Barbue d’Anvers was a fantastic experience. We were here at New Year’s Eve when they open at 12. As a starter we choose (unfortunately) only one plate to share of their sausage plate. As the main courses we had three different plates. All were served on very hot plates. This is just love <3 The food stays hot for the whole meal <3 The stu was very good, the beef was excellent, and the chicken was good. This was an excellent experience even if I did not manage to get my digestive at the end (needed to rush out to catch a train) .

I found this place by mistake as I walking down town in Lille and decided to give it a try. I was alone and I tried the croquet maroilles, the poulet maroilles and a 500ml local beer. Firstly, the croquet maroilles was excellent. It was served with salad and it was exceptionally good (costed 7 euro). Secondly the chicken was good but not the best I tried. The sauce was a bit thin and had not a lot of flavour. The plate was served with fried potatoes which were tasty (costed 19.5 euro). Lastly, the beer was exceptional 😁. I must say that the hospitality and helpfulness of the personnel was beyond expectations and made the whole experience amazing. Very well done.

Its a cosy restaurant which is located in a alley closed to Grand Place of Lille (not so far from Rihour metro station). There are seat outdoor and indoor (1st floor). The food is delicious, beer is good as well. Price is around 30euro/each person. But I wish restaurant make more bread instead of french frites. Otherwise, quick preparation of food and warm atmosphere.

Anna R — Google review
This restaurant sits in a sort of building backyard, preceded by two others more economical places I'd say (judging from what it was served), so it was found almost because of a chance and - at the net of my experience - I wish I would have not found it at all. Firstly, it has to say that we arrived here only because we were after dining while eating the two popular Lille dishes: the carbonnade flamande (stewed meat) and waterzoï (boiled poultry in bouillon with cream). We couldn't find any of those on the first top 5 restaurants we visited on our path, and being already 8pm we decided to give it a go to this place, though the cost already put me on the warning condition. But I thought, ok these are local special mains, so they must somehow be with worth; hence we entered. At the entrance, the waiter indicates is the table number where we can sit. He said you can go upstairs, table 10. Every restaurant I've been so far, even the cheapest, has always seen waiters escorting us to the table, so this was already collecting its second negative point. Finally at the second floor, another waiter see us arriving, and when I said about the table, it let us accommodate next to a table close to the kitchen (which was having the door fully open because of the hot weather and the fact they could not keep their windows open), a fridge with cold drinks and the elevator used by guests (the space for passing between my chair and the lift was so reduced, that I wonder what would have happened if a person on a wheel chair was there). Anyway, the waiter comes with the blackboard with the daily selection, but we say we want those dishes. He suggests that they will take only five minutes to be prepared and whether we were ready to eat. We just say so and literally after seven minutes the mains arrive, clearly suggesting previously cooked food, which in fact was barely warm, tasty, but definitely not worth the money they sought. In serving the meal, part of my stew was poured on the underneath napkin; when it came the time of the wine, some drops went on the table, and the tea (served in a metal teapot you usually get in a second-hand style bar) was heavily dropped on the table. The dessert selection was almost okay, and the glasses of wines good, but this was very little to compensate the bill. Toilets are in the basement, where a second guest hall is located, with the gents with a door open and the hand wash basin in the main room somehow.

It was nice here. Very nice seating outside and service was good. My steak and fries was lovely and is highly recommended. Nice restaurant area with an industrial vibe. Staff very nice and spoke English. Menu is steak as to be expected with a few other dishes. Croquettes and Iberico ham to start and so much ham and good quality. We both had fillet steak 300gr (the only size fillet on offer) so if you like a large steak this is the place to come. It was very tasty came with fries and a choice of sauces I had mushroom which was very nice. Had a nice bottle of wine with meal but no dessert as too full. We come again if on Lille. If you're a fan of Blues and Rock, then The Stairway is your ultimate destination in Lille! This vibrant venue spans two floors, featuring an "Old Rock" cocktail bar on the ground level and a lively club in the vaulted cellar below. Here, you can groove to classic tunes from the 60s and 70s while enjoying a cozy atmosphere filled with comfortable lounges.
English Music! And they also played one Bollywood song believe me! The ambience is great, the club has plenty of space and the drinks are medium ranged. Happy Partying!

Racist against non-french... They let 5 (out of 6) enter from our group. The last one, not french and not drunk, they did not let in. Security was very aggressive and insulting. Not worth going. Try another place instead...

It's so difficult to internet search a good jazz club in France. Most clubs just post pictures of drinks, the bar, and food. I don't go to jazz clubs to eat. I want to see pictures of the stage, drum sets, and musicians performing. Why don't the French get this?

HEIN - Brique House is a vibrant, three-story venue that offers a variety of burgers, fries, and sandwiches along with a microbrewery and terrace. The interior boasts a retro vintage decor, creating an atypical and warm ambiance. Guests can enjoy flavorful dishes like fish with sautéed vegetables and maroilles sauce fries. The homemade iced tea is described as refreshing, while the service is prompt. Visitors praise the unique beer selection and locally inspired menu options.
I was part of a very large group (+20). Despite it being a Friday evening, there was a lot of space at HEIN, including on the terrace. The beer is very good, the food is simple but good enough and the staff are friendly. The digital-ordering from table is easy but slow, it is quicker to go to the bar in person.

Great modern spot hidden just next to Lille Flandres station. They manage the perfect blend of hipster bistro and authentic northern estaminet. Their cheeky branding is somewhat heavy-handed but works well, and their beers are very solid. The Welsh rarebit is good, their beef tallow fries don't match the level of a proper friterie, but are good nonetheless. Friendly, down to earth service combined with modern menus (pay by qr code at the table). It's an equally great spot to spend some time for drinks, either on the cosy outside terrace nestled in a brick courtyard, or in the chic vintage backroom. A number of electric plugs are available for the laptop working crowd.

My friend and I had dinner at your restaurant this evening at around 7 PM, on September 17th. The food, especially the Carbonnade and Welsh, was absolutely delicious. Thank you for a wonderful meal. We were a table for two, and we ordered one Carbonnade, one Welsh, and two beers. However, when we looked at the bill, it appears we were charged for an extra beer. It shows a total of four beers instead of the two we had. Could you please check our bill and provide a refund for the overcharged item????

A wonderful place with great food, a wide variety of beers (and suggestions about combining the food and the beers) with good prices. We tried the Welsh (vegetarian option as well) and it was delicious. The staff are very polite, efficient and helpful. The decoration of the top floor is nostalgic and adds to the experience. A truly great place to discover!

We were eating at 7pm because we had a 5 year old with us. We were seated promptly and our order taken virtually immediately at 7. My husband enjoyed the very happy Shiny Happy & I had a tasty kombucha. We both had very delicious cheeseburgers and my son had his first fricadelle which he wolfed down. We have had better fries, they were a little greasy and not so crisp but still tasty. Only complaint is the WiFi could be better for those visiting from abroad.

This was advertised as having food from 6pm but I was told when I arrived that it was 7. No apology. The beer I had was odd tasting and unappealing. Comfy chairs were a nice touch I guess.

BRIQUE LAND - Brique House is a fantastic spot in Lille with a great selection of craft beers, including triple, IPA, and lager. The staff is friendly and the outdoor seating area offers a cool escape from the heat. They serve delicious vegetarian food like zucchini pizza and salad. The taproom has an excellent atmosphere with smiling staff members creating an enjoyable experience for visitors. In addition to their own craft beers, they also offer options from other local breweries.
Brique Land - Brique House is an absolute gem! The cocktails were fantastic, and their brewery offers a great variety of options on tap. Unfortunately, their sour ale wasn’t available during our visit, but there’s still plenty to enjoy. The pizza was delicious—definitely worth trying—and the prices are quite reasonable. We had a blast playing electronic darts, which added a fun touch to the evening. The staff were the kindest, most helpful people ever, always welcoming us with a smile. Highly recommend for a casual night out!

Wonderful place: really friendly staff, great spots in the shadow (when we visited, it was pretty hot outside), good and pure (vegetarian) food (we shared a zucchini pizza and a salad) and of course great beers. My bf and me totally loved this place! Be sure to check departure times of public transport. We think the long walk back is totally worth it. ;)

Great range of their own craft beers and a couple of other options from a different local brewery. Had a very good NEIPA. Big outdoor seating area, with games and a pen of chickens clucking away! On a Sunday the pizzas were only available until about 2.30 and then again at 7.

We had pizza in the pink room. Pizzas were nice, but I would say on the pricy side compared with other places. We came at 7pm on Saturday hoping that it would be vibrant, but restaurant was empty so the vibe was not so great, with many flies attacking us. Also, I want to make a comment that low seating (sofas) are very instagrammable but at the same time extremely uncomfortable if you are trying to eat from the table.. Overall okay, but not sure whether we would return...

Le Lobby is a popular craft beer bar located in Vieux Lille, offering a vast selection of over 50 craft and traditional beers. The interior has a dark and moody ambiance with unique furnishings like a graffiti-covered Mini car, making it an ideal spot to escape the sun during the day and enjoy a lively party atmosphere at night. With more than 10 beers on tap, it attracts a diverse crowd, mostly young adults, who gather to enjoy old classics and indie music.
If you want to be able to choose from 20 different beers to try on tap this is the best place. Really nice interior. And the bartender was really nice and gave helpful suggestions regarding the beers.

What a great interior. Awesome. Please do visit this bar. But outside they advertise 48 bears. But inside only 8 on tap. And not much more on bottle. But it looks like this is the same in every bar we stayed so far. But a really great place to stay!! You must have seen this.

Great beer. Disabled Access. Spacious. Smoking area out front. So disagree with the recent 1* review on most of their nonsense. Mostly, on the music choice. Music is subjective. What one may find awful, another may love. It's ridiculous to ridicule a place for music that you do not enjoy. Bar snacks are limited, which is a shame. However, the nachos were a large portion and tasty. The most important thing, is drinking. Man, there's great beer here. A huge menu of choices. The staff are really lovely, especially to this fool that speaks absolutely no French. Oh, they also offer this 'sharing' rack of beers of 14 x 1/3 tasters.

I pass by this bar & restaurant almost daily. My partner and I decided to stop in to eat. There were a few patrons outside drinking beer, but the inside of the restaurant was empty. I arrived before the dinner rush. My partner and I stood inside for over 25 minutes next to another man waiting for a table as the servers moved around us to refill beer. At one point, alone of the servers stood out front, talking to a table for over 10 minutes and occassionally glanced at all of us waiting inside. When she entered again, the man waiting alongside us said something to her about waiting for so long and wanting to eat. Afterward, we were all seated. We waited another 25 minutes for the server to come back so we could order. We ordered the Fish and Chips. The breading was soggy just under the surface and very chewy overall. This restaurant is not worth over an hour wait for Fish and Chips and beers. The fries were okay, and the presentation was fine, but the fish was not.
Vanessa F — Google review
I asked the server if the welsh had gluten. The server asked the kitchen and they told me “it was only traces of gluten”, then my dish arrived, I started eating and it turns out it had a huge loaf of bread in it. I let my server know. This is very sensitive since as a celiac I could have a really bad allergic reaction. Better to say don’t know or we’re not sure instead of putting on risk the health someone else.

Great Welsh place in Lille! I had the chicken maroilles, an amazing dish. It consists of a melted typical cheese from the north of France with some chicken. I was a little disappointed by the supposedly best beer in Belgium which was 11° but the taste was bit bland. Very pleasant terrace outside and nice staff.
PF — Google review
Good food at reasonable prices. Lunch was excellent. My only complaint is, as a non French speaker, the menu was very difficult to understand. When we translated it, it didn't have descriptions of what the dishes actually were, it was more like commentary on them. So if you weren't already familiar with the foods, the menu gives almost no help beyond telling you the price.

Nice food and beer. My sister was visiting me in Lille and I wanted to show her the speciality of the north. Everything was great, but after we ordered some lady who worked there, was a bit rude because we ordered just 1 dish to share. I was a bit sad because I am not used to this kind of treatment and usually people in Lille are very nice. And I think it’s possible to communicate everything nicely and with respect.

Even understanding the difficult conditions, I can't tolerate how rude the waiter was, the only interest here is making money without offering neither a good service, nor a good beer. One of the best places to have a chat while enjoying a drink. Large choice of beers. (local and Belgian mostly) there is a nice atmosphere the barmaids are nice and benevolent, there are 4 inside rooms and there's also an inside small courtyard where you can smoke and have a chat or just unwind. You can often find live musicians playing different styles of music. And on the walls paintings or photographs for sale.

The place is small so do not expect a big table when you have a big group. There is no decoration and the music is so low that can completely forget about it. Sometimes it is a good thing though. Saturday, 11 AM. I walked into this café to order two Americanos. I left with three Americanos, one beer, and a serious reflection on my life choices. The man serving was a lovely monsieur, an old French gentleman. Since we both speak Latin languages, I thought this would be easy. Non. Instead of using actual words, I relied on finger-pointing, which was about as useful as trying to pay with Monopoly money. Somewhere between my frantic gestures and his polite nods, my “two Americanos” became three plus a beer. At 11 AM. On a Saturday. As someone who is sober curious, this was not exactly the plan. But the real highlight? Some people waiting at the bar turned to stare, not at me, but at the beer. Interesting breakfast choice for sure. To be clear, this was not the Frenchman’s fault. He executed my absurd order perfectly. The problem was me, who somehow turned a simple coffee order into a full-on social experiment. Service was excellent, the place is fantastic, and if you enjoy a little public humiliation with your morning coffee, this is the spot. Highly recommend, just bring a translator, a visual aid, or someone else to order for you.

The store offers an extensive selection of local and artisanal beers from microbreweries, with 33cl bottles on the left and 75cl bottles on the right. Visitors praise the friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the range and can provide guidance based on individual preferences.
Great selection of beers covering all bases. Helpful and friendly staff. Big thumbs up.

Bar du Singe Savant is a magical place that attracts people from all over the world, creating a beautiful and fervent atmosphere regardless of their beliefs. The bar offers a wide selection of beers that changes regularly, ensuring an interesting experience for beer enthusiasts. It provides a great atmosphere for families and friends with games available to enjoy quality time together.
This is a fantastic brewery serving up 12 taps of fantastic beer. The prices are more than reasonable, and I recommend ordering a number of small pours to sample what they have. The Arctic Papayou is an easy drinking American wheat, but if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, go for the Smoking Chihuahua. It’s a porter fumé pimenté, super smooth, slightly spicy, and very drinkable. The bartenders / brewers are welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable - if you want to chat about beers and brewing they are more than happy to carry the conversation. Overall this is place with a great vibe and even better beers. Check it out.

You can sit comfortably here and explore the world of beer in a relaxed manner and there are also various games for children. DER 🐵 is present everywhere. THE BEERS we had tasted very good and were easy to drink (American Wheat, Tasmania Ale). (Translated by Google) I have been a regular at this bar for a while, and I can only highly recommend it! Every Thursday, it has become my headquarters for spending unforgettable evenings. The staff is simply brilliant: always attentive, helpful and very friendly. They know how to make every visit special and welcoming. The choice of beers is impressive and unique to this brewery. Each beer is carefully crafted, and the menu changes regularly while retaining its classics. There really is something for everyone, whether you're a fan of light beers or more complex flavors. In addition to drinks, they offer a selection of delicious food: small dishes to share or tasty pizzas. Perfect to accompany a good beer! The room is spacious, spread over two floors, which allows you to find a quiet corner or enjoy the general atmosphere. And in summer, the large terrace in full sun is a real asset.
