Probably one of the bigger craft beer pubs in Lille, with 20+ draft beers. Mainly French craft breweries, with a very nice variety of styles. Styles are marked with clear icons. You can ask for a small taster to sample if you prefer a beer. Prices are very fair. Cosy atmosphere, nice seating area at the bar or windows.

I love this bar! We've been to Lille twice and wouldn't miss a visit. Excellent, friendly service and superb beers, which are varied and well priced. Beer lovers will love this fab bar, we will 100% be back next time we are in Lille!

A nice place where the hosts know about their beer. Almost 24 beers on tap, it's one of the best draft beer places you can find in Lille and highly recommended to visit if you are into beer. It's unfortunate that tasting plate is not available on weekends; other than that..it's a cool place to have some nice craft beer with good options.

This is a Micro Brewery and a bottle shop as well. When you come in you will walk first to a small bottle shop with a decent selection of beers. Then on the back there is an equally small room that houses the brewery. Everything about this place it's small. You can do a small demonstration of the brewery with an accompanied beer tasting. You can only drink in the brewing room. No drinking allowed at the bottle shop. It an interesting place nevertheless.

Amazing brewery and beer tasting! We were a large group of 15 people and it was the highlight of our trip to Lille. The tasting was really well done, all learnt a lot and the beer was amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Lille to stop by and pick up a few of the local beers/ if you have time do the tour.

Home brewed beers, made in the old town of Lille, a bit expensive, don't know if they're worth it because there's such a great choice of beers in this region. Nice to think they're making beers in the heart of Lille.

They really do brew (experimental batches) here. It smells like a brewery! Take note other ‘in house brews’! Eclectic range and a friendly lass to help choose.

Stopped in about 4:00 after a long day of travel and found the perfect spot to wind down and relax. Love the self-serve taps, and the staff was super patient and helpful. Haven't tried the food yet, but we will soon be back sitting on the shaded patio enjoying a burger or plat du jour.

Nice staff, efficient service and nice concept with a card to try different beers 🍻 and can choose which ones to try and the amount. Also love the starters that are at a reasonable price. Only disappointment was their champagne was served in a beer glass rather than a champagne 🥂 flute.

It was a fun experience with a cozy atmosphere and nice service. English speaking and nice of them to explain how things work around. You need to draft your own beer from the 12 Taps available using a card. Such a nice experience and if you know how to draft a beer, it comes handy. Priced based on amount of quantity, so also super nice.

First time in Budapest but researched the best steak before we came and it did not disappoint ! It’s my partners birthday tomorrow too which I noted on our reservation and Suzy surprised him with dessert. 10/10 wish we could come back next week ! X

We loved this place. The food was excellent pub food, particularly incredible chips and the steak tartare...oh my. I has a really nice terrace for when the weather is good and a lovely area which is covered but kind of half in, half outside. My only reservation is that I just don't get the "pour your own beer" concept. Pouring a good pint is actually quite tricky and all too easy to f**k up. I can't help but think it would work for any other drink except beer but, hey, if you want wine they have plenty and they'll even pour it for you.

This place is excellent. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable, and they have a great selection. The location is great and near plenty of places to grab food before or after your beer. Very chill vibe. Great for lambic drinkers, but they have plenty of options regardless your particular preferences

After you have ordered beer, the waiter tells you that you need to order food. They tell you the price before ordering and double it when you pay. Unhelpful and rude staff. So many other good beer places in Lille - STAY AWAY from this one!

Perfect place for beer lovers. Set in a picturesque lane in the town centre there is a dazzling selection of beers that the staff can talk you through and make a tailored selection to your tastes. The guys know their beer inside out and can also speak English. They also have delicious snacks to accompany your drink - the saucisson was outstanding. I was made to feel very welcome and will definitely be back next time I am in Lille.

If you visit on the weekend, make a reservation. It's crowded. But it's pleasant! And I'm so happy that I was recommended to try mussels when I come to Lille. Actually, I was sad because I thought there was no mussels, but there was a very small part of mussels, and I ordered a classic one. The taste was the most delicious thing I had in Lille, and the champagne and red beer I ordered before the meal went well with the food and it was delicious. I was sitting near the kitchen, but I ordered mussels and everyone seems to eat a lot of hamburgers, so I'm going to try hamburgers next time. But you know what? Mussels that are non-mainstream were so delicious, and I'm looking forward to seeing how delicious hamburgers will be!!!!!

Decent Beer, Classic European Attitude I ducked in to avoid the rain and was pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of beers available for tasting. That part was definitely a plus. Unfortunately, it came with the usual European service coldness. Let’s just say the staff made it clear we weren’t really welcome to stick around. Good beer but don’t expect any smiles.

One of our favourite bars and restaurants in Lille. Great home brewed beer, recommend the rouge personally but quite sweet compared to other rouge beers. Two doors next to one another and if there is a queue head to the one on the right, most people seem to not even know it's there! Poutine is absolutely 10/10, for a beer and cheese fix this is your place. Service can be quite slow but we don't mind, usually testament to how busy their are!

This is a fantastic place if you are in the mood for comfort food with a fun twist. The food was delicious, it came out quickly from the kitchen after placing the order, and our helpful server had a great attitude. If you want fun Poutines, Burgers (there's even a vegetarian burger that looks divine with a red pepper sauce ladled on top) or a thin but crispy flatbread concoction, this is the place for you. After lunch we had a café that comes with 5 miniature desserts. The creme brulee was delicious, and the pastries were unique and tasty.

Very wonderful bakery shop / cafe like a creation of art. The displayed pastries were so perfectly arranged and looked delicious. The chandeliers, glass work enhanced the look of the boutique further. The open air garden cafe very nice , staff kind and polite , helpful. In the shop the goods are well displayed with price tags so easy to identify. The display shelves are so pretty and the colour combination very unique. Overall this is more like a pretty waffle or bakery museum and I loved my time here. I enjoyed vanilla waffle . Wanted to sit down in garden cafe so had also queued for the waiting line but it rained heavily suddenly so left in the middle and this time happy only with the wonderful waffle, will return next week or soon for a coffee and pastry .

How can this be anything but 5*? The pastries, the service, the setting, the shop, the history, everything is impeccable and the price point is reasonable. I think Meert may be a victim of its own reputation, as it is busy and people clearly expect perfection, but in our experience it lived up to it, and of all our culinary experiences in Lille this will be the one I remember forever.

The mille-feuille was absolutely delicious, and the éclair was good, but I didn’t really like the dark chocolate. I really enjoyed the waffle because it was unique and different from the usual. The atmosphere of the place was wonderful, and the best part was the excellent service. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it in time for lunch.

The food here was decent – both the main course and dessert were fine, but nothing particularly memorable. What really took away from the experience, though, was the attitude of one of the staff members, who came across as quite arrogant. I was hoping for a warmer, more inviting atmosphere, but everything felt a bit cold and flat. For the price point, I expected better service and a more enjoyable overall experience.

My reservation was supposed to be for upstairs but we were seated downstairs. The food we ordered downstairs is good probably after 10 beers but not good after 2. Very rich & heavy. Unfortunately not good for a proper dinner. Also there was a lot of chaos and disorganisation amongst the staff, which we witnessed. We had not been well attended to by certain staff members so make sure that if you have an upstairs reservation, then definitely go upstairs yourself. Hopefully the food is better there too.

We didn’t expect the portions to be soo big. We had a hard time trying to finish the food, and we couldn’t 🤣 The cheese sauce for the fries wasn’t a good choice, next time we will try another sauce. We came here because we wanted to try Welsh (right side), but it’s not for us. It was interesting to try but it was just too much and too beer-y. We’d love to come back and try other dishes from here 😊 The vibe here was also very nice.

Has a great vibe, people are friendly. But after I was decisive between beef burger or fried chicken burger, the emoloyee told me to get rhe beef burger, its great. Their beef fat fries are delicious, pizza is also pretty good with the cheese sauce and caramelised onions. Beef burger was horrible, the beef buns were dried out like stale bread, the beef patty was not cooked through, which is okay, but it was so dry the beef patty crumbled and starter breaking, cold and bland flavour. Beetroot ketchup was amazing, but could not save the burger. Toilets are also not very clean, with broken equipment. The staff are very friendly and inviting personalities. But their kitchen needs to move the food once it is ready. I often saw food ready to go, sitting underneath the heat lamp, essentially drying out the food.

Nice alternative place to be. Colorfull interior and nice seats. Different kind of fries, but very tastefull with different kind of sauses.

It’s a choice of experience I didn’t appreciate. For 28€/pers you have a starter, a main plate ( 3 different plates ) and a dessert. That’s correct . The restaurant was full .

We ordered, waited there for a whole hour (not exaggerating) and when we asked when our food was coming they told us there was only one guy in the kitchen. A few other people were waiting really long too. 4 waiters outside and 1 guy in the kitchen???? We ended up leaving without having lunch because we had to travel back home. Unbelievable beer, exceptional food and amazing philosophy. Went twice in 24 hours, would’ve gone far more times were I in Lille longer. Beer list is fabulous, with a nod to locally foraged herbs. The large choice of beer is juste amazing. Not only because it is huge but because the beers itself are incredible. They have been choosing it wisely. They exactly know what a good beer is. Trust me, you will never be disappointed to go there with friend or even on your own to try new beers.

They have the best lot of strong craft beers available in Lille as far as I have found untill now. Small cosy and good. Doesn't matter if the beer is 5.0 or 12.8, it's just a flat rate of €6, so not bad at all. You can even go to the laptops and pick your own tunes;)

Great beer selection. A nice guy from the staff described everything to us willingly and in detail, he took his time with us even though he was busy preparing for the evening concert. I appreciate that.

Updated Dec 2023: Staff still amazingly friendly, but the beers brewed on site are still among the most offensive I've ever had. It's a process problem. Infections, high ferm temps, whatever it is, it's undrinkable. Ordered a beer, took a few sips, left. Updated Nov 2022: The staff is very nice, but goodness, their "homebrews" are just insulting. Got the DIPA, which shouldn't have made it to the taps. It's not a recipe problem, it's a process problem; quality control is nonexistent. Review July 2021: A strikingly slow and offensively maskless staff (in covid times) serves a few good beers and some subpar homebrews, some of them clearly infected. I wish them the best, but there's a steep climb.

I would say this cookies are definitely OVERRATED, one cookie cost 4€ and for me they tasted like cookie dough. Didn’t had much flavour if not butter and sugar and the only difference between a red velvet and the New Yorker was the taste of the white chocolate, if not they basically tasted the same. I think you can find much better cookies in Lille and I would not come again

Great cookie shop if you like soft, almost cookie dough baked cookies. Highly recommend the double speculous - so rich and filled fully with biscoff and chocolate. I would advise sharing one though as they're not for the faint hearted. But still delicious and worth the visit.

The cookies are definitely very good - I tried the Black Pearl Cookie - it was definitely a very good cookie, however, prices were rather high - although the quality is excellent, it is still "just" a cookie, albeit a very good one.

The best dessert here (sorry all French desserts but this American cookie beats y'all🫡) . Always bring friends here to try cookies and everyone loves them. Anyone who disagrees please look at the long queue outside everyday😂

A good place just to satisfy your hunger. the beef stew was too raw, it needed a little more roast. I ate with my family outside in the street where many people were passing by and it was too comfortable. Otherwise, everything is good, like price and quality.

Very friendly staff. The interior setup, although the building itself is old, is very functional and gets probably the maximum from combining the old and new. I had the spare ribs, but the meat was too dry for me. The taste was very good, but really dry.

Slow food!! We had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant - onglet de boeuf (hanger/skirt steak) with tatin of endives, and choucroute garnie (sauerkraut with smoked meats and sausages). This restaurant specialises in beech wood smoked meat - and the results are terrific!! The service was attentive and the prices are reasonable! This is highly recommended!!

I found this place by mistake as I walking down town in Lille and decided to give it a try. I was alone and I tried the croquet maroilles, the poulet maroilles and a 500ml local beer. Firstly, the croquet maroilles was excellent. It was served with salad and it was exceptionally good (costed 7 euro). Secondly the chicken was good but not the best I tried. The sauce was a bit thin and had not a lot of flavour. The plate was served with fried potatoes which were tasty (costed 19.5 euro). Lastly, the beer was exceptional 😁. I must say that the hospitality and helpfulness of the personnel was beyond expectations and made the whole experience amazing. Very well done.

Its a cosy restaurant which is located in a alley closed to Grand Place of Lille (not so far from Rihour metro station). There are seat outdoor and indoor (1st floor). The food is delicious, beer is good as well. Price is around 30euro/each person. But I wish restaurant make more bread instead of french frites. Otherwise, quick preparation of food and warm atmosphere.

This restaurant sits in a sort of building backyard, preceded by two others more economical places I'd say (judging from what it was served), so it was found almost because of a chance and - at the net of my experience - I wish I would have not found it at all. Firstly, it has to say that we arrived here only because we were after dining while eating the two popular Lille dishes: the carbonnade flamande (stewed meat) and waterzoï (boiled poultry in bouillon with cream). We couldn't find any of those on the first top 5 restaurants we visited on our path, and being already 8pm we decided to give it a go to this place, though the cost already put me on the warning condition. But I thought, ok these are local special mains, so they must somehow be with worth; hence we entered. At the entrance, the waiter indicates is the table number where we can sit. He said you can go upstairs, table 10. Every restaurant I've been so far, even the cheapest, has always seen waiters escorting us to the table, so this was already collecting its second negative point. Finally at the second floor, another waiter see us arriving, and when I said about the table, it let us accommodate next to a table close to the kitchen (which was having the door fully open because of the hot weather and the fact they could not keep their windows open), a fridge with cold drinks and the elevator used by guests (the space for passing between my chair and the lift was so reduced, that I wonder what would have happened if a person on a wheel chair was there). Anyway, the waiter comes with the blackboard with the daily selection, but we say we want those dishes. He suggests that they will take only five minutes to be prepared and whether we were ready to eat. We just say so and literally after seven minutes the mains arrive, clearly suggesting previously cooked food, which in fact was barely warm, tasty, but definitely not worth the money they sought. In serving the meal, part of my stew was poured on the underneath napkin; when it came the time of the wine, some drops went on the table, and the tea (served in a metal teapot you usually get in a second-hand style bar) was heavily dropped on the table. The dessert selection was almost okay, and the glasses of wines good, but this was very little to compensate the bill. Toilets are in the basement, where a second guest hall is located, with the gents with a door open and the hand wash basin in the main room somehow.

Fabulous spot on a backstreet - recommend the steak or carbonnade - a traditional Flemish stew with fries. Fabulous service and nice wines, too.

It was nice here. Very nice seating outside and service was good. My steak and fries was lovely and is highly recommended. However my mom ordered a medium rate steak and was served a very rare steak to the point where she did not eat most of it. Overall it was quite good as I enjoyed my food but it was unfortunate that my mom's dish wasn't as good as mine.

Delicious meat and beers are served with a smile. It's definitely a place worth visiting if you're a meat eater. I personally recommend ordering the L-bone stake or the truffle burger. Both are absolutely amazing.

Nice restaurant area with an industrial vibe. Staff very nice and spoke English. Menu is steak as to be expected with a few other dishes. Croquettes and Iberico ham to start and so much ham and good quality. We both had fillet steak 300gr (the only size fillet on offer) so if you like a large steak this is the place to come. It was very tasty came with fries and a choice of sauces I had mushroom which was very nice. Had a nice bottle of wine with meal but no dessert as too full. We come again if on Lille. Please note the address on Google maps is wrong it is the street on the other side of the building but there was a note on the door.

It is a drab place which is dead on Saturday evening except for some teenagers hanging out with friends. Restaurants are not many, and not all are good, with rather pricy options. The Greek place was very good, but the Indian one was terrible.

We tried the Mexican food at El Camion and were blown away by the kindness of the ladies working there—they even made fresh guac for us without coriander! Talk about amazing service! The bar on the ground floor was equally impressive, with a super kind, helpful, and patient bartender who made the experience even better. This place has such a vibrant and welcoming vibe. Can’t wait to visit again when I’m back in Lille!

I pass by this bar & restaurant almost daily. My partner and I decided to stop in to eat. There were a few patrons outside drinking beer, but the inside of the restaurant was empty. I arrived before the dinner rush. My partner and I stood inside for over 25 minutes next to another man waiting for a table as the servers moved around us to refill beer. At one point, alone of the servers stood out front, talking to a table for over 10 minutes and occassionally glanced at all of us waiting inside. When she entered again, the man waiting alongside us said something to her about waiting for so long and wanting to eat. Afterward, we were all seated. We waited another 25 minutes for the server to come back so we could order. We ordered the Fish and Chips. The breading was soggy just under the surface and very chewy overall. This restaurant is not worth over an hour wait for Fish and Chips and beers. The fries were okay, and the presentation was fine, but the fish was not.

I asked the server if the welsh had gluten. The server asked the kitchen and they told me “it was only traces of gluten”, then my dish arrived, I started eating and it turns out it had a huge loaf of bread in it. I let my server know. This is very sensitive since as a celiac I could have a really bad allergic reaction. Better to say don’t know or we’re not sure instead of putting on risk the health someone else.

Rainy day in lille, had a lovely lunch. I had couscous with stew and 3 meats. So much food that I couldn't finish it. The flavours were subtle and reminded me of a Moroccan taste.
