Located in Kill Devil Hills, Outer Banks Brewing Station is a unique wind-powered brewery offering a variety of craft beers and upscale pub fare. The nautical-themed establishment also features live music performances. Visitors to the area can explore other local breweries such as Northern Outer Banks Brewing, Whalehead Brewery, Swellsa Brewing, Lost Colony Brewery, and 1718 Brewing for growlers or crowlers.
Great place outside to sit with our pup. Hubby had the fish and chips and a beer and enjoyed it. Bonus, they have a gluten free menu, but cross contamination is still possible. Really enjoyed it. Jacob was our bartender and he was awesome.

This was our favorite restaurant we went to on vacation and in fact we ate dinner here twice in our week there. My husband is vegetarian and in general the Outer Banks is not the most vegetarian friendly place to eat. He had multiple options, including a homemade veggie burger, a beet salad, jalapeño cheese curds, etc. The staff is all friendly and nice. And the backyard is the icing on the cake. Large outdoor seating area with picnic tables, a pirate ship playground, live music, and allows dogs. We will definitely be returning on our next vacation.
Emily R — Google review
This was the first brewery we visited during our stay in Kill Devil Hills. Great choice...loved the outdoor seating with live music. Enjoyed the beer too. The food wasn't bad either.
Larry H — Google review
Stopped here to grab a drink before heading to our rental. The outdoor space is dog friendly and awesome to hang out in. Lots of shade is provided by the trees and vining plants that are part of the landscaping. Picnic tables with umbrellas are scattered around, and the outdoor bar has some seating available. We were greeted by the friendly bartender, who immediately offered our pup water. The beers were good and we enjoyed hanging out. You'd never know you were in the hustle and bustle when you're in this space!

By far our favorite meal during our stay on OBX. Handicap accessible, delicious food. We had the skirt steak Caesar Salad (enormous portion of steak!) the jalapeño cheese curds, crab and shrimp dip, buffalo wings, and scallops with risotto. All highly recommended!!
Elizabeth C — Google review
Came with the wife, two young by kids under 4, and our big dog. We had an excellent experience! Super family oriented and very friendly, casual vibes. The huge outside area and play space for kids makes this the perfectly food stop. Will come back whenever we past through! But the way the FOOS was SO GOOD. Holler are the motz sticks, 11/10!
Trolando — Google review
I had the fish n chips with their signature Kölsch, and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. The thick-cut fries were tasty. Everything paired nicely with the creamy tartar sauce and fresh slaw. The Kölsch was light, crisp, and refreshing, and it's an ideal match for fish n chips. Great food, great beer, and a cool layed back relaxed vibe. True gem in OBX. Plenty of parking is a plus.
B C — Google review
Lively atmosphere with great live music and a fun weekly market on site! Super kid-friendly — the pirate ship play area was a huge hit. Food was tasty, service was quick, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. It was busy but never felt overwhelming thanks to the spacious outdoor area. 100% recommend for families — we’ll definitely be back on our next OBX visit!

Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe is a waterfront restaurant and bar that takes pride in serving locally caught seafood and offering an ample selection of beer and wine. The cafe is known for its commitment to sustainability, sourcing fresh fish, crabs, clams, and oysters from local fishing traditions. They clean all seafood on-site and select vegetables from nearby farms.
Very nice restaurant between Manteo and the barrier island. The place is loud. So, sit accordingly. They have a garden outside that helps with their meals. Check it out. Great views. Our server was Emma and she was fantastic. The food is good. Plenty of local seafood. You can bring in your own catch and they will prepare that for you as well.
Kevin W — Google review
My family and I came to OBX for a holiday weekend. We were so excited to eat here after specifically looking for locally owned restaurants with fresh caught fish, and reading about the restaurant and family on the website. First, let me clarify since I’ve seen this brought up in replies by the restaurant: my husband and I love nothing better than fresh caught seafood, and have eaten everywhere from Venice, to Hawaii, to St Lucia, including countless times on the southeast coast of the US. We are not “unaccustomed” to fresh fish’s flavor as the owner suggests on other reviews. The website advertises panoramic views and their outdoor area, and while I may have been confused, it was definitely misleading when we arrived to discover there were no outdoor tables. Still, we figured the food would be good and fresh. We were eating with our 18 month old son with special needs. We had to ask for a high chair for him 3x. We had to ask for a straw for him 2x. I am 3 years sober, and was happy to have found a single mocktail on their lmenu, but when I asked about an unknown ingredient, the waiter told me, “yeah I wouldn’t know” and walked away. We were brought our meals pretty quickly, which was nice, but in my husband’s words, “It looks like it came from a retirement home cafeteria” (pics attached). We both ordered off of the fresh Saturday specials menu (that they posted on their social media that day); mine was yellowtail served with scalloped potatoes and squash and his was tilefish on top of grits…except they weren’t. I was served a gray, watery, undercooked tuna steak with mashed sweet potatoes and sliced pickles and onions sitting in a bowl of vinegar. I didn’t know what my husband ordered, so I asked him if his soup was good, only to discover it wasn’t soup (check the picture). I asked the waiter, “wasn’t this supposed to come with scalloped potatoes?” He said, “I don’t know, did you read the description?” I didn’t have the menu still, so I said nevermind, but when checking it later on their social media, I saw I was right. My husband managed to stomach some bites of his food, and my toddler ravenously ate their fries; I didn’t eat anything. As soon as we got back to our hotel 30 minutes away, my perfectly healthy husband and son had explosive diarrhea. I have IBS and felt perfectly fine, so I guess you can decide for yourself what variables contributed to that. I had hoped for genuine care for the food and location like I’ve experienced at other family owned restaurants, instead we visited a tourist trap that makes garbage fodder. Maybe their fish was fresh caught at one point, but certainly not by the time that it made it to our plates.

Great food. Their flounder was very good. Enjoyed them being open and not packed as others were waiting to get in. Wanted a good seafood place. My kids had chicken of course. Our waiter was overwhelmed some and couldn’t find him when we needed him. That’s why I gave low stars for service. Good and atmosphere was great and even have a little shop inside. Would recommend going.

My family and I were enjoying coffee at Charis Coffee in Manteo while deciding on a place to grab dinner. I asked the local barista where to go and without hesitation he said, "Cedar Cafe". He told us that they had the best chef in the area and served fresh local food which piqued our interest for sure. Another Barista rattled off a few other places that she had to think for a while to list but the gentleman gave solid reasons why not to go to them. So we excitedly went to Basnight's Cedar Cafe. The restaurant was spacious allowing us to have easy conversation. The windows on both sides of the restaurant were viewable from our table and the views were beautiful. Our server was excellent. She was born and raised in the area and had wonderful things to say. When I asked her what she would eat if she were sitting down for dinner, she offered two suggestions without hesitation and I ordered one. The Snowy Grouper was fantastic, the sides were also phenomenal! I loved that they told us who caught the fish that day in the menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal. When we left, we noticed their pesticide free vegetable garden where they grow their own produce to use in their dishes. It doesn't get fresher than that! We look forward to our next visit for sure.

After waiting for only 30 minutes, which is nothing here at the OBX, we were seated at a table by a window. We were greeted by a nice server, but felt rushed to make decisions on what to order. I had a question between two things on the menu, she recommended the entree that was a special (rockfish topped with a crab sauce). The meal was tasteless. My baked potato was not quite baked long enough, and the fish was cooked very well but just was nothing special at all…hardly something I would recommend to someone. The jerk swordfish was good, but the one an only meal we would return for was the shrimp and grits…which I normally don’t care for (consistency thing for me). But they were very good and a large portion of meat. I think we just had an off night because this place came highly recommended by friends. We may try it again some time in the future but not any time soon, with all the other options.
Shelli H — Google review
Fantastic place to eat! Menu was vast and offered really good specials. I had the Flounder stuffed with crab imperial. Food was incredible. Menu even shows the name of the fisherman who caught the fish. Live music was great touch to the bar area. Must visit, but visit early. They open around 4pm
Brian A — Google review
My husband and 12 year old son took a charter this morning and caught their dinner. After calling around for hours we finally found this establishment that would cook their catch. Colton walked in bouncing with joy wearing a smile from ear to ear with his fish in hand. Carolyn recognized him immediately and made a big deal about him catching his own dinner. She went out of her way to share his excitement throughout the restaurant! Then we met Jeff and Stacy (server in training) who continued to share the excitement of Colton’s accomplishments with the fish. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, but the way they made our child feel on top of the world was above and beyond anything we ever expected! We will be back on our trip next year! Highly recommend this restaurant!!!!

Mulligan's Grille in Historic Cottage Row is a laid-back restaurant that has been serving Southern coastal cuisine for over 20 years. Located between Jockeys Ridge and Historic Cottage Row, it offers incredible views and a beachfront deck. Known for its best burgers on the beach, the restaurant now focuses on local seafood prepared in an authentic Outer Banks style using fresh, local ingredients.
Where to start. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Great food, wonderful service, and fun atmosphere. A friend and I were visiting and ate here two nights in a row to try out their menu. Highly recommend their crab balls with the spicy tartar sauce. Our server Sara was super kind and extremely helpful. Our puppies enjoyed themselves, too, with their unique menu for dogs. Definitely will be coming back to enjoy more.

Love the outdoor upper bar seating! It has great views of the ocean! Food was good, service was great! The bar tender made me a Cat 5 drink off the old menu and it was glorious!! Will definitely be one of our stops each trip!

Dog friendly and amazing food. They had gluten free options for me and a menu for our pup. Her chicken and rice was served on a frisbee she gets to take home. The Mulligan burger was amazing and the obx crush. So good! Service was amazing! Joe and Denise are wonderful. We had such a great time. Will be back when we are in the area!

We had the Creole Shrimp & Grits and the Mulligan Burger. The Creole Shrimp & Grits was amazing (my wife couldn't stop raving). The burger was very good. It didn't stand out to me in any particular way but it was very solid. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly, great service!

We came here for the dog menue and were so pleasantly surprised. The pups were truly welcome on the upper deck. Given bowls of water and of course we ordered off the pup menu 🥰. There were so many dogs we loved it.
Billiejo S — Google review
Mulligan‘s was a great place for dinner with my family for our final night in the Outer Banks in Nags Head. Our waitress was very attentive. We got to sit on an outside upper deck patio and we had views of the ocean and a nice breeze. I had a cocktail called the painkiller and it was awesome. I ordered the coastal Carolina shrimp and grits which came with shrimp and andouille sausage. My meal was cooked well and it tasted so good. It was my first time having grits and I approve the meal was more than I could eat in one sitting and I definitely had leftovers to take home for later
Jennifer S — Google review
Ate here last with a family group of 9. Got there about 5:15 and didn't have to wait long but sat at two tables next to each other on the upstairs patio which we actually preferred. Waitress was attentive and pleasant. Most of the food was delicious-my dad said his side fries weren't warm enough but besides that everything was delish. Everyone was very happy with this restaurant choice. Tiki bar on the 2nd floor that is pet friendly as well.
Sara S — Google review
Really cute restaurant with very friendly staff! The food has slight issues, but it was decent if you’re looking for a place to eat. We got the fish and chips and the tuna bites as an appetizer. The fish that came with the fish and chips was delicious and the portions were very generous. The fries however were extremely chewy and stale. The hush puppies that came with the meal were very good. The Tuna bites however were almost completely raw in the center. I know some people prefer tuna a little on the undercooked side, but these were just completely raw and cold. Overall, not a bad place to stop if you’re in the area.

Fish Heads Bar & Grill in Nags Head is a charming waterfront pub located at a fishing pier, offering a pet-friendly atmosphere and mesmerizing views. This rustic establishment provides a quintessential Outer Banks dining experience with outstanding seafood dishes and cozy outdoor decks. Visitors can enjoy locally-sourced seafood, live music, and cold drinks while taking in the breathtaking ocean views. The restaurant's standout dish is the exceptional fish and chips, which has earned praise for its delicious flavor and reasonable pricing.
Great food and atmosphere, right on the pier! Really cool place on the pier with seating inside or out. Tons of beer options. There’s also wines and some mixed drinks. Service is really friendly. Just a great beach vibe!
Jay R — Google review
Amazing atmosphere. One of our favorite places to have lunch every year. The happy hour shrimp and fish tacos are outstanding. Can’t beat the ocean breeze and cold beer! The staff are excellent and friendly. Highly recommended Fish Heads. FYI…Parking can be difficult at times, so we walk.
Carl C — Google review
Don't turn into the parking lot! Park on the median on the right just before you turn in. The lot is angled parking with no outlet. It makes for some challenging driving when you have your crew of people. Park along the road before you get in. Okay now to the place...its awesome! They have a ton of outdoor seating but like today it was too windy to accommodate so they had everyone inside. Its a great busy beach bar. Plenty of beer options. They have seating that can accommodate larger parties it seems. Wait time is about 15-30 mins on busy times. No dogs allowed on the pier. Photos are of the coconut shrimp basket and the crab cake sandwich. Both were awesome. The shrimp came out steaming hot! The crab cake was amazing. My partner got the fish sandwich, I didn't get a photo but I swear they put both fillets on the sandwich.
Daegan — Google review
Fish Heads remains the best bar and grill in OBX. The food is incredible and very reasonably priced. Best Tuna bites I have ever had, and it's really hard to beat their happy hour deal shrimp buckets! For beer lovers, they have the widest selection of craft beer I've seen at a beach bar. On top of that, they have live music most nights and a great staff. If you get there and have to wait, don't worry, there is a side bar right outside the main entrance so you can order select beers and drinks while you wait! It is a quintessential must stop every year.
Taylor C — Google review
Best waterfront bar atmosphere. Food ranges from simple (hotdogs) to delicious (medium rare ahi sandwich). Huge draft selection—no hard liquor on premises. Beautiful day, the water was amazing! As usual, service was great. Note: they are closed Monday/Tuesday.
Adam — Google review
Enjoyed lunch in scenic environment. Food was hot and fresh. Staff was very fast and accommodating. Weather was windy but was able to eat away from conditions. Enjoyed watching the fishing from the pier too!
Liz M — Google review
Ok, the food was ok. Hamburger was a frozen variety. Not bad but not fresh. The fries were some of the best I've had in awhile. Someone in that kitchen knows what to do to potatoes. My wife's bbq nachos would have been better if all the chesse hadn't been on the bottom of the plate. Again they weren't bad, just all the chesse made the bottom chips soggy. The waitress was good. It should be noted that we ate during a downpour. She still checked on us regularly. THE highlight of this place is being able to eat while looking out over the ocean. It is the coollest thing. Great views. It makes this place worth a try.

Lucky 12 Tavern, established in 2006, has become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors. Situated near the beautiful Atlantic Ocean in Nags Head, North Carolina, this retro-funky bar offers a diverse menu featuring local seafood, hand-pattied burgers, Philly cheesesteaks, New York-style pizza, creative salads, and delectable wings. Additionally, patrons can enjoy boardwalk fries and a dedicated kids' menu.
This place was fantastic! A group of five descended on this establishment on a weeknight. We were seated immediately. The server was prompt and efficient. They provided us with well thought out recommendations. The Seafood Chowder was outstanding. They also had a very good selection of Bourbon Whisky and several well selected beers on tap. After a pleasant night of eating and drinking, we decided to order take out pizza from a second night. Again everything was well done. NY style pizza with a crispy crust and excellent distribution of toppings. The 'El Supremo' and Four Cheese with added pepperoni and black olives was very good. Finally, the have three very nice pinball machines tucked in a back room. It has been quite a while since I have seen pinball machines in this fine a shape and only charging $0.75 per play.

This was our second time eating here. This time we decided to get their pizza and so glad we did! I'm from NY and used to having some really good pizza but this place wowed me. It was so delicious!!!! The 16" pizza has 8 big slices, enough for 3 people. My pics show the bar side but they also have a dining room. We will def be back when in the area next time.

We came in on a Monday around lunchtime and were able to get a table right away. The gentleman at the front was friendly. The service was great. The food came out quick. The bacon cheeseburger was good you could tell they used fresh ground beef. The fish and chips were good, too. Fish was lightly breaded with a golden tint. The hand cut French fries were yummy. All in all, good restaurant is worth a try.

Always a regular stop at some point during our vacations at OBX. I ALWAYS get this Seafood Bisque as my app, and an Oyster Po' Boy Sandwich as my entree (subbed slaw for handcut fries - both are great!). Never disappoints!!!
Mark P — Google review
The place was slam full but service didn't slack at all. Food came out quickly and it was hot. I snagged a beer with my wings and that came out fast and was cold. I have no complaints at all. EVEN BETTER the 8 piece wing would have been a 16 piece anywhere else. Definitely recommend this place.

Brewery
Lost Colony Brewery, located on the Nags Head-Manteo causeway, offers a taproom and retail space with scenic views of the Roanoke Sound. Visitors can purchase a variety of beers like Nags Head IPA and Kill Devil Hills Scotch Ale to take home or enjoy a pour on tap while admiring sunset views over the water. The brewery's previous tavern in downtown Manteo has been replaced by this waterfront location.
Lost Colony Waterfront is my favorite bar & pub! Dirt makes everyone feel welcome. There are no strangers at the pub because of the fun, friendly atmosphere he creates. Dirt genuinely cares about everyone who walks in the door & his smile & laugh can turn around even the dreariest of days. I never felt like I had a bar or a pub that was "mine" until Lost Colony. Whether you're celebrating a win in life or just taking a break & relaxing with friends or family it's awesome to spend time there. The water views are spectacular & it offers indoor & outdoor seating so there's always an option no matter the weather. The beer is fantastic. I'm not even typically a "beer" girl but Lost Colony's brews are top notch. My fave is the Hatteras Irish Red but everything I've ever tried there is good. It's also located near a pizza shop and a cafe so there's always something to pair with your beer. You also have to check out the gift shop. Lost Colony's apparel, mugs, and glasses are great. They have the best branding & logos. 5 out of 5 stars all the way!

No food here, buy they work with Benny's Tesoro pizza. Went in and asked the beer tender what went best with a huge slice of pepperoni pizza. He quickly responded Flounder Pounder. I said I'll take it. He was dead on, washed the hugest slice of pizza I've ever encountered. Will definitely be back, go getcha some.

It doesn’t matter what day of the week you come here, just come here! Kim, or Dirt, or once in a great while Ray behind the bar, it doesn’t matter. The beers are absolutely pure, and the atmosphere is exactly as you would hope, phenomenal! That is a very long sentence to describe the best waterfront pub, not just in OBX but the East Coast. The beers are exactly as they should be, but the smiles behind the bar and from the regulars are what makes everything worth it. And the pizza from next-door at Benny’s is the perfect compliment.
Rick H — Google review

Great views, great beer! Best stout and porter I’ve had since moving to NC! Dirt was so welcoming and made us and our dog feel like family. The inside area was very nice also.

Bartender "Dirt" is amazing - makes everyone feel like a local and a pal. Excellent beers. Fantastic setting overlooking the sound. Highly recommend!

What an outstanding brewery. Great selection of beer ( with great back stories), welcoming and friendly service and a deck with a fabulous view of Roanoke sound. The most dog friendly of bars and they are very happy to let you bring in food from the (many) vendors around the pub. Highly recommended

Goombays Grille & Raw Bar is a vibrant and family-friendly seafood restaurant located in downtown Kill Devil Hills. Since 1992, it has been a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The restaurant boasts a lively island-style atmosphere with colorful decor, including bright murals, local artwork, and fish tanks. The menu features a creative fusion of Outer Banks seafood with Caribbean influences, offering dishes like Caribbean Creole Pasta, Caberete Shrimp, and Caicos Coconut Shrimp Salad.
Service was excellent, food was great. We enjoyed our meal. Highly recommend their banana pudding cheesecake. Amazing flavor and it's not too sweet, which is perfect. Most restaurants have very overly sweetened dessert. Would certainly be back again.

Always colorful with an excellent menu for lunch. Brought friends for their first visit and the two that ordered the Rasta Pasta decided we were coming back in three days. They also bought containers of the sauce to take home. Shrimp and crab curry soup was unique and gently creamy with fresh vegetables. Burgers and flounder were top notch and we had to order additional jalapeno crab balls. Onion rings were large, perfectly breaded and not overdone. Kayla was an amazing server - a true ambassador to Goombays. Christian assisted and was clearing our table frequently and checking our needs. A great experience!

Our server Cala was amazing and she recommended a great meal and was very patient with ALL of my questions I had being ones my first time here. The food was amazing I had fried flounder and shrimp with fries and coleslaw my husband had the same except for he had fried oysters instead of shrimp. The drinks she suggested was amazing as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant the scored a 10 out of 10 in my book everyone we encountered was very friendly

Had a great family dining experience! Everyone had very fresh food and it arrived hot and quickly. The small parking lot actually keeps the inside for getting too overcrowded. Would suggest going at off-peak hours to make sure you get a table and food quickly. Will definitely be back again when we are on the island. Looked like there was a great and comfortable bar also if you dont want to sit at a table.
Adam H — Google review
I stopped here for dinner on a Sunday night and the dining area was almost full to capacity. The dining area is a bit small and most tables are pretty close to each other. I liked the crab dip and fried fish plate with rice and vegetables.
Alex R — Google review
The food was really good. The family loved the service and atmosphere so much. Definitely recommend this place and the variety of fried fish dish options on the menu.

Excellent dinner! We had oysters, fish sandwiches, drinks, and more. Everything came out great, hot, and tasty. Service was quick. We brought a 3 year old and it was noisy enough to where young kids won't be a bother but not too noisy where it could be hard to talk or hear. Our waitress was kind and had a great sense of humor too. We would definitely go back.

Poor Richards Sandwich Shop is a veteran lunch spot known for its hot and cold sandwiches, as well as its bar featuring trivia nights and live music. The pub-style restaurant has a nautical theme, with an interior that resembles a ship's cabin. Guests can enjoy their meals in cozy booths or on the open-air back porch with views of the waterfront. Locals in Outer Banks frequent this eatery for no-nonsense yet delicious lunches, such as the Cuban Reuben and Italian Sub.
Poor Richard’s is one of my favorite spots to stop as a local when I’m feeling hungry. The servers were wonderful as always, and the food was great. I’m always a sucker for their clam chowder, even on a hot day. I’ve been going for years and will continue to do so :)

Ordered a Philly sub and a Heart Attack wrap here to go. Both were done very quickly even though it was a very busy concert night. Filling, delicious, and thr Philly had a good amount of veggies and cheese. We ate on one of the piers and definitely created a new core memory!

Sandwich shop next to the boardwalk. The place is very busy at lunchtime (from noon to 2pm). It takes a good 15 minutes to order and another 15-20 minutes to receive your order. The sandwiches are varied and very good. Generous portions, good prices, great location. The sandwich of the day on our visit was breaded shrimp. Delicious. We enjoyed the experience, but the wait is worth considering.

Best fried chicken sandwich you will ever eat! The pickle brine really makes a huge difference. Every year I visit OBX this is a must stop, this year I was first in line and glad for it as it is possible they run out! Don’t miss it, don’t question it, just do it!

We stop for lunch every time we're in Manteo. My wife had the special, a shrimp po boy. She said it was one of the best she had on the East Coast. I went with the heart attack wrap and wasn't disappointed. The cucumber salad was good as always. Other comments about the lines, seating, and wait are valid, but definitely worth the stop.
David L — Google review
This is one of our favorite places to visit in OBX. It is in Manteo, so it is a lot quieter than places like Kitty Hawk and Kill Devil Hills. Give you that small town vibe and the sandwiches add to that. Super friendly staff and the food is always so good, sandwiches taste super fresh. The shop backs right up to a dock that you can sit by and enjoy the food. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good sandwich in OBX.

Pizza restaurant
Nestled along the scenic Beach Road in Kill Devil Hills, Dare Devil's Pizzeria has been a beloved staple of the Outer Banks since 1987. This family-owned gem is renowned for its mouthwatering pizzas and stromboli, crafted from housemade dough and sauces that are prepared fresh each day. The inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for families and friends to gather over a diverse menu featuring subs, salads, wings, and tempting appetizers.
This restaurant is serving up some really great pizza! Sometimes hard to get in because it's so good! The staff is very friendly.. so much so that we were the last ones there one night just after close, but they let us finish up the game! Thanks again, and we'll definitely be back.
Mary R — Google review
Tried this place since it came highly recommended, and the food surely didn’t disappoint. Their veggie pizza was definitely one of the better ones that I’ve tried and the pepperoni pizza was delish too! The place itself has very chill vibes!
Rachana M — Google review
Pizza and calzone were great, but I was personally disgusted by the lack of hospitality, which started as soon as my g/f and I walked in for a put up order. We stood by the register for over 5 minutes before anyone said anything, seeing that there were 3 people working the counter. This wouldn't be a big deal, but the girls working the counter acknowledged everyone else that came after us instantly. "How are you tonight? What can I get you?" We didn't experience that. We sure witnessed it. Definitely was casting a certain vibe. This will be one of the worst reviews I have given in a long time and not because of the food.
Matt S — Google review
The pizza was good. The flavor and consistency of the sauce told me it was made from scratch but the crust was a little “bouncy”. It could have been cooked another minute and that might have been good. Parking is easy in the dedicated lot. There were people sitting at tables on this rainy September night but we carried out. The young woman who took our payment and then handed us the food was a little gruff- small talk is not her thing perhaps.
John D — Google review
Delicious pizza and perfect crusty crust. Not too thick, not too thin. We had the North Shore and the Crazy Greek pizzas with the Zorba Greek salad. Homemade sweet and unsweet tea available, as well as sodas and beer. Very laid back. Order at counter, dine in or carry out.
Kerry B — Google review
Great spot right near the beach. Prices are reasonable. It’s quite near where I’m staying at the beach and it’s been hopping every evening. We decided to go around 4 pm when it wouldn’t be busy to check it out. So here’s the DL on what we are: wings were large, large stromboli was way more than enough to feed 2 people, and the Crazy Greek Pizza had the perfect thickness of crust and blend of cheeses on it to ensure the feta wasn’t overwhelming. Wholeheartedly would recommend and the price to food ratio is one of the best I’ve seen while on vacation.
Rebecca D — Google review
Went to this pizzeria for dinner with my husband and had a great experience. The place is super clean and organized. I loved how easy the ordering process is, and how you can grab a box for your leftover pizza. The staff was really friendly and welcoming, even though the restaurant was packed. Highly recommend!
Ana M — Google review
Used to be a great place to dine. There is no table. There's no table waiting anymore. You have to clean your own table. There are a few tables and clearly take out is the primary switch of their business model. It used to be a quaint fun pizza place that had a lot of character. And now mostly seems to be a small sitting bar while you wait for your takeout. The pizza was average maybe slightly above average. This used to be the go to spot

Stopped by on out first night to try them in a different state. The server was very friendly and helpful. The food was good not much different than home. But it hit the spot. I would give them 7 out of 10 stars.
M B — Google review
First & foremost, our waitress was stellar!! I ordered a $30 prime rib, medium rare. It came extremely well done, dry as a bone with absolutely no flavor at all. Our server offered to return it to the kitchen, but not being a fan of spit in my food, I declined. I took it back to our hotel & fed my dog. Server was so sweet bringing dressing for my salad & butter for my “loaded” potato. She did get busy & never refilled our drinks. I never expect much from chain restaurant mixed drinks, but don’t waste a penny. Watered down fruit juice has more flavor than any of our drinks had. So disappointing to have a $165 meal ruined with an inedible prime rib.
Sherrie H — Google review
We normally go to Texas Roadhouse. Stopped in to order to go. I got the 7oz steak with lobster tail upon other things. I spent over $100. I got back to the motel & the lobster I ordered was just the shell with a tinyyyy bit of meat. Not worth $100. I couldn’t go back cause I was over an hour away. The lady said oh we will take good care of you. Mac and cheese wasn’t good either.
Sunshine H — Google review
Terrible service, I definitely wouldn't go back. The food was too greasy, the meat was burnt, and the service was terrible.
Marian T — Google review
The wait and items this Resturant was out of are why I give only 3 stars. Our waitress was terrible!! She stated she had been with Outback for over 11 years. Just not at this same location. There was an hour wait for a table. Not unusual for an Outback location. They were not busy at all. It was clear they were short staffed waitresses wise. That is a huge problem at a lot of locations. After we were seated and ordered we waited an hour plus for our food to be served. They were out of a lot of items. At the end they were out of ice-cream to fix the dresser we had ordered. The manager was great at fixing this issue. He done away with the up-charge for the dessert and still gave us the brownie with the chocolate sauce. I think the manager was doing the best he could with what he had. I would surely give this location another try. The food was fantastic! Cooked to perfection!! The other two waitresses were awesome!!! If you are in this area and looking for a job go put in an application. As I stated the manager on duty at the time of our visit was amazing. He could really use some good employees to keep this place afloat. It would be a great loss to the area if this Outback were to close.

We are visiting from out of town to celebrate our anniversary, and while the food was excellent, our server, Billy, made the experience truly exceptional. He was welcoming, friendly, and brought a wonderful sense of humor to our evening. His professionalism and outstanding customer service skills were greatly appreciated and made our celebration even more memorable!
Kaitlyn K — Google review
My wife, grandson and myself just visited your establishment. As soon as our server brought us our menu's I asked her if Outback offers AAA discount, we were told you did. Our food was decent. When I asked for some additional butter from. another person walking by, it took 10 minutes to get along with the comment "Here's your butter" as he put it on the edge of our table and walked away. Getting back to AAA discount, it never happened. The electronic gizmo at the table was cleared out by our server very quickly I might add. When I asked for a receipt, she said she would have one printed which took another 5 minutes. The restaurant was maybe 10 percent full during our visit. The last day of our vacation ended on a sour note. Of all of the the reviews I've written, yours is the first sub standard one. You've deserved it.

With unique options like The Greg Brady topped with mac and cheese, there's something to tantalize every palate.
LOVE THIS PLACE! It was the first restaurant we tried since moving to NC from TX, and to say we're blown away would be an understatement. The menu is simple and awesome. I ordered the Cowboy burger and my husband got the Gonzo burger, then we shared an order of regular Crinkle Cut Fries and Crinkle Cut Fries with Bacon and their house-made cheese sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious! They also have a signature Jack Brown sauce that is to die for. I dipped both my fries and burger in it lol I can't wait to come back here and try the other burgers and sweet potato fries!! And i really think funnelcake would be a cool addition to the menu and pair nicely with the fried Oreos they already have 😏 The staff is awesome, the beachy vibe is fun, and the food is incredible. Come try it! Trust me! You won't be disappointed! To the staff, thank y'all for such an amazing experience. We can't wait to bring our family here someday 😇 🖤

Super friendly! Burgers were juicy and fresh! Came out quickly and the ambiance was fun and inviting. Got the cobra burger and the Cowboy burger with sweet potato fries and fried Oreos. Food did not disappoint! We went late and still had time to grab a bite and chitchat with the employees. Kindly let us park in there parking lot as the pizza place across the way rudely kicked us off there property. Definitely recommend this place if you are 21 and looking food after fun at the beach, they stay open late!

Absolutely the best burgers we have ever had. We tried to go Saturday night as it looked so good online. When we got there it was 9:30pm. The gentlemen at the door looked at our little one and told us unfortunately it was 21 an older after 9pm. We were pretty bummed we just got in town a few hours earlier and settled into our beach house and researched food. But it looked so good online that we decided to go back today (Sunday) for dinner. This was the first time ever that me, my girlfriend, and our daughter all 3 finished our entire meals. I got a double cheeseburger, kiddo got a cheeseburger, and girlfriend got the Greg Brady. The waitress helped her decide between the Brady and the don’t care don. She went with the Brady as it wasn’t as heavy earlier in the evening at the recommendation of the waitress. We also ordered the fries with the house cheese sauce and bacon. And goodness they were the best cheese fries ever. I ended up putting the cheese sauce and bacon onto my burger at the end and that was a game changer! We decided that we have to go back before we leave to head back to Virginia in a few days. Seriously everyone needs to try this place! Incredible

Two time customer here - came back especially for my girlfriend who really enjoyed the Shocker. I ordered the regular cheeseburger both times, the wagyu beef makes it a great burger. HOWEVER, On our first visit we experienced a positive atmosphere, had a drink, and overall enjoyed it. On our second visit today the host could not have been more dismissive and unwilling to simply adjust my to go order mere seconds after placing it, in person. I won’t list every problem I had here with one employee, but you can’t go wrong with the food if you’d like a burger.
Naquoia M — Google review
Jack Brown's never disappoints! I'm pulling up there was people everywhere the place was packed people standing outside look like it'd be like a two hour wait we gave her a name. They said probably 45 minutes so we ran around the corner for a minute and we got a text that our table is ready in 10 minutes . We were pleasantly surprised! Got back and got seated right away. Our waitress was right there seeing if we wanted water and drinks we were pleasantly surprised to see that they have added canned drinks such as high noons and seltzer since the last time we were there. We put an order in of the fried pickles, which were absolutely delicious. We all got our burgers cooked to perfection and we left happy people. The only struggle of the whole night is parking. There are not a lot of places to park and if you drive a big truck like I do, you have even less options, but we made it work. Go see Jack and have a burger or get takeout if you don’t wanna wait!
Jeannine D — Google review
This is a no frills diner that serves one specialty, burgers! So if burgers are not your thing, you may want to look for other options. You can get your burger in about 7 to 8 different ways. All of these varieties are prepared flavorfully. Sides are ordered separately as ala carte item, which is a drawback. Servers are attentive and helpful. Portions were good, and came out in a timely manner. Interior dining area is almost nostalgic to a past bygone era. Overall, a good place for burgers, and only burgers.

So a cool place first off. I want to go back just to see more of the vast assortment of trickets on the walls. Super cool place. The food. I got a specialty burger .. I am done with rolls I will say that. Burgers on Donuts.... Insanely good. Sweet with a little onions and just a plain burger. That burger is exceptionally tasty by itself. Beer assortment is deep... And cold. Easy to recommend as their name, is their game. Great burgers.

Duck Donuts is an iconic establishment in the Outer Banks, offering freshly made customizable donuts right before your eyes. Founded in 2006 in Duck, it has expanded to five OBX locations and gained popularity for providing made-to-order doughnuts. The process involves watching the donuts being made on-site and then choosing from a variety of toppings, coatings, and drizzles to suit your taste.
Promptly greeted and left happy. Ordered a half dozen and of course if you don’t know all the flavors you want, they will help. Sunrise (lemon glaze with raspberry drizzle) is dynamite. They have a nice selection of stickers we ended up finding a few that we had to bring home. This place checks the right boxes. This was my first time going. They offer vanilla cake donuts and you choose the icing and toppings and make it for you. The choices can be overwhelming but they are patient while you decide. Two coffees and 4 donuts were $16. I didn't think that was bad. If in the area, stop by for fresh donuts. 🍩☕

My daughter and I are here in OBX on vacation and we heard about how good Duck Donuts is so we had to try. And even more awesome, we had a coupon for BOGO. My daughter had an oreo donut and I had a chocolate caramel with nuts. I didn't realize they were made to order so we were pleasantly surprised. They were so good. Hot, melted in your mouth. Cool donut place! Staff was very friendly. Would definitely visit again.

I thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of donuts available for order, and each one was absolutely delicious! The donuts are freshly made as you order. The only thing you don't really get is the human contact some people may want. You order on a screen, pay at the screen and pick up at the counter when they call your number. All the staff are behind the counter diligently making donuts, which is great; however, there is a lack of any actual human interaction, detracting from the overall experience. Although the prices are slightly higher than expected, the wonderful quality of the donuts makes them worth a couple of extra bucks per donut compared to what you would pay at any other donut shop.

Mouth watering donuts which no one can resist. Lot of different combination of flavors to try. My favorite is blueberry glaze with Oreos. Fresh out of fryer donuts melt in your mouth. It was a bummer that they don’t serve donut sundae like few other locations.

Had reservations with a large group (14) for a weeknight dinner. We enjoyed drinks at the tiki bar outside (complete with great live music) before being seated right at our reservation time. The main dining area is well appointed, with nice views of the docks and marina below. Our waitress was prompt, thorough, and incredibly nice, including when interacting with the several young kids in our party. I had a side Caesar salad to begin. The dressing had an excellent flavor, though there was a bit too much dressing on the salad for my taste. For my entree, I had the fish of the day (swordfish) over mushrooms, spinach, roasted potatoes, and a cream sauce. The fish was excellently cooked and paired well with teller vegetables and sauce. Overall, a solid dinner, a more innovative menu than your typical beach seafood restaurant, and good service with great views!

We are not fancy seafood people but for a nice night out this place has everything you need and want. The views from the enclosed porch are amazing looking out at the docks. The cocktails are well made and the food and fish are fresh and delicious. Shown is the fish of the day (Blue Fish) on orzo, the fried shrimp and fried oysters, and some oyster shooters...not our jam but if you like bloody Mary's...you'll love these. Service was excellent and not too stuffy. We liked this place much more than other similarly priced places in town.

We brought our large family of 16 (teens, parents & grandparents) to Blue Water Grill for “catch and cook” after a fishing excursion earlier in the day. BJ was awesome to work with getting it all set up. Our fish was cooked to absolute perfection - both blackened and fried! We chose 2 sides (green beans and mashed potatoes) that were also amazing! The menu included items for our non-fish eaters as well. Our server, Ralph, handled our large party seamlessly. It was everything we hoped it would be! Very highly recommend!

Everything was delicious! The homemade chips turned nacho-style were especially tasty! Chicken breast was tender on the salad and pasta entree was a winner, also. Beautiful views, friendly and casual atmosphere. Would recommend.

I’ve had overall decent experiences at Blue Water. It’s a beautiful restaurant and a great ambiance. The shrimp and grits are quite good, although a little bit of an odd mish mash of flavors. The steak is generally good, but sometimes a low quality cut of meat. The oysters are generally good, but recently we got quite a few bad oysters which was disappointing. I would still go back and I enjoy my time there. Usually good food and great service.

Not a single complaint. We got the calamari, cranberry ginger Moscow mule, French 75, ceaser salad with shrimp, fried shrimp, a burger and the shrimp pasta. Blue Crab Tavern is a long-standing dockside tavern with a relaxed atmosphere, offering live music nights, games, and outdoor seating. Nestled on Colington Road for over 20 years, this soundside pub provides an authentic island experience. Boaters can even dock at the free dock to enjoy cold drinks and light bar snacks while taking in stunning sunsets over Kitty Hawk Bay. Everything about the Crab is awesome. It’s a true beer bar, all beer is in the can, and the owner recycles the cans and tabs for charity. Nice dive bar with friendly locals. Bottles, cans and cash only. ATM inside. No liquor. The bartender welcomes everyone coming in and is very nice. 50 cent pool table. Most beers are &3 or $4. I was looking for a place to have a couple drinks and hang out, and this was perfect!

We get there at 10:30, online says it's open till 11. As soon as we walked in, we were told they already called last call. We were so excited to have one beer there.. but wasn't allowed .

Beautiful sunset location. Great prices, kind people. Nothing fancy but really comfy

We went for a quick after dinner drink here - classic dive vibes. Walked in, was greeted right away by the bartender and the locals at the bar. We got an NC IPA and sat out back to watch the sun set. Everyone was friendly and we hope to go back next time we are in NC! Other reviews said this but cash only - check your wallets! Also LORDY some of these other reviews made me laugh. Thanks for a chuckle!!!!!

Dive bar at it's finest. Just beer, all cash and a cool play area on the sound. It's full of friendly locals and the bartender was cool. I'll go back for sure. No food here except a few bags of chips.

Restaurant
Firetender is a new restaurant located in Manteo, offering a casual yet upscale dining experience. Situated at the Hotel Manteo on the main highway, the restaurant boasts a modern and design-forward atmosphere with cozy booths and tables. The menu features woodfired pizza, Mexican street corn dip, roasted brussel sprouts, salads, and various dishes served in cast iron skillets. Additionally, they offer a solid selection of wine, beer, and craft cocktails.
Sarah was our waitress tonight, she was absolutely amazing. Our glasses never got emptied, always made sure our food exactly what we wanted. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Thank you Sarah and Kayla! We will definitely be back on our next visit hope to see you ladies then!

Seated fairly quickly. Service was friendly and commendable. We ordered 3 pizzas, and I think 2 would have been sufficient. They were tasty, we took some home.

Great restaurant with a relaxed vibe. Cozy, trendy inside seating as well as comfortable outdoor seating. Food was amazing. We had the Corn Dip and the Pizza Ala Vodka. Both came out hot and delicious! Will definitely be going back again to try other items on their menu.

Great place to eat! The smash burger is delicious. I loved the pickles! Caesar salad was very good! Perfect amount of dressing for me. The Figgy Piggy Pie was very good but unexpectedly spicy for the guest that had ordered it. Service was slow but that was due to only having one waitress working the lunch shift. I really wanted to try the brussel sprouts and Mexican street corn dip that I read reviews of but they aren't available at lunch.

My wife has been coming to this place since she was a little girl back when it was, "The Elizabethan." Then it became a pancake house. The amazing renovation work Saga did to make the, "Firetender," is fantastic. The pizza was wonderful and the flour less chocolate tort with vanilla ice cream was decadent. Thanks, Firetender for the hospitality and food. Great start to your new restaurant. 👌

Cozy modern atmosphere with really good food & drink options! I got the espresso martini 🍸🫘 very well made 👌 I got the spaghetti and meatball Alla Vodka special and it was very good! You can tell Eric the head chef takes his time and puts great detail into the dishes. Noah our server was very well mannered & took great care of my wife and I. We can't wait to go back next! Cheers

My family and I have been here a few times now. The food is great and the atmosphere is intimate but welcoming. When in a larger group we prefer to sit outdoors as the interior seating is a bit more quaint. However, on date night with my wife we do prefer interior seating as the interior is very nice and feels a bit more fancy for our night out. We are a family that orders all the apps when we go a place, or in this case, small plates. No complaints on any of those, at all. The meatballs and street corn were very big hits. Along with the pretzel and wings taking close second and third. The pizzas and burgers were also big hits. All in all, its a great place and far beyond what you'd expect from a hotel restaurant.

An exciting new breakfast! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels 1st class. The staff are very pleasant and eager. The breakfast menu only has so many options, but they all sound so delicious, it was hard to choose the first. I decided to try the Lemencello Pancakses and my wife ordered the Chorizo breakfast wrap. Both were all-stars, beginning with the presentation. Very delicious and we'll prepared food. It's something different than your eggs, bacon and grits if you enjoy that. We cannot wait to come back and try more breakfast options and some of the dinner menu.
