This statehouse was beautiful from the outside. However I was disappointed that it wasn't open for self guided tours on the Sunday that I was passing through. Regardless, toured the grounds and checked out all of the statues there. Enjoyed the design of the dome. It was very different than most. I'll put this on my list of visited capitals but unseen from the inside.

One of the coolest state houses I've visited! Unfortunately I only saw it from the outside but even then the whole area is clean, beautiful and well maintained! The state house itself has very beautiful architecture. If you are in Columbia definitely stop by and walk the grounds of the South Carolina State House!

Definitely recommend a stop here. There is also a parking garage near by and a short walk to the main street area as well. We spent a solid hour just outside walking around the grounds. Very beautiful building and interesting history here. Lots of it. The stairs and view outside is worth going to view alone. When facing the building from main street the original building was a little to the right until it was burnt down in a war. The city was great to view and enjoy for the bringing in of the new year. The fireworks were great and wonderful to watch from the middle of main street and the oldest streets in the city.

My son Cian went here before. He sent me beautiful photos of the ceiling. The whole building is extraordinary. I visited to really get a feel for it. The security guards were melting. Their faces were rimmed with welts and rashes. A fire coiled in the corner, slowly engulfing the walls. Their faces metal detectors went haywire as they combusted into flame. Despite this, nothing was burnt when I stomped the fire out. At least my feet hurt now. It gave me something to feel. The building must be incredibly indestructible!

The South Carolina State House is very impressive from the outside. You can walk around this impressive building, and it looks different from every angle.

Beautiful place, lovely grounds, quiet on the weekends. Highly recommended.

Visited the State House on Saturday after visiting the Soda City Market a block away. The security guard was very friendly & courteous. We removed our personal belongings to be x-rayed & walked through the metal detector without issue. We did not take the free tour, but wandered around on our own. 3 floors & not all rooms are open. There’s a gift shop on exit. Make sure you walk around the grounds outside. Very nice state house.

Arts & Draughts at the Columbia Museum of Art is hands-down one of the best ways to spend a Friday night in the city. The vibe was amazing—great crowd, cold beer, and incredible art. The silent disco was a blast, and the Sam Gilliam exhibit was a powerful experience. Beautiful atmosphere, creative energy everywhere, and something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're an art lover or just looking for something different to do, this event delivers. I’ll definitely be back!

The main exhibit on the second floor was closed, and the first-floor section was only partially accessible due to filming. While admission is free for South Carolina residents, out-of-state visitors are charged a $15 entry fee. Paying full price to see barely a quarter of the museum felt like a pretty raw deal.

We really enjoyed the artwork from Printmaster, Sam Gilliam. Unfortunately, the upstairs exhibit was closed for renovation and will not be opened until January 2026. We also visited the Intersection on Main Street: African American Life in Columbia exhibit, which was extremely informative! I am so grateful to Faida for taking the time out to tell us about very interesting facts about the USC and surrounding areas. I highly recommend everyone going at least once.

A solid art museum that regularly features interesting exhibits. I saw the Keith Haring exhibit here recently, as well as the Alexander McQueen exhibit a few years ago. Both were excellently done. Outside that are other art pieces well worth seeing. On our most recent trip this weekend, we didn't find out the second floor of the museum was closed until after we had already paid for our tickets. We essentially paid normal admission prices in order to view the Haring exhibit, a few separate art pieces, and an exhibit on African American life in Columbia that was already free to begin with. The museum is a non-profit, so at least the proceeds go towards its educational programs and art conservation. However, I can't help but be reminded of Keith Haring's belief that art should be accessible and affordable to all. I understand that the museum does not want to miss out on proceeds, but at the same time it feels unfair to be charging normal prices to view significantly fewer art pieces.

It was like waking street fair in NYC lots of vendors and live music. My food experience here was terrible guess I have to find the right vendor . Food was priced high had paella seafood in rice it was awful 😫. Salty fishy and costly. They had a car show and the art was just fantastic. There was a young guy there with Lakers painting and just beautiful prints . Did not catch his name but I will return . Parking was good. I would rate five if it weren't for the bad food experience. No Spanish food I would suggest. Stick to other food.

Soda City Market is always a lot of fun, and is one of my favorite things to do in Columbia! I love getting to know all of the different vendors, and checking out the really cool miscellaneous items that they're selling. Today, I learned that there's a shop in Five Points that sells vintage, 1980s-style clothing, as well as Jamaican, Brazilian, and Belgian-themed restaurants in the city. I never would've known that before going to Soda City. I also got a decent slice of pizza, as well as a solid cup of coffee. And... the dogs! If you're a dog lover, I'm not sure there's a better place on Earth to find some beautiful dogs than Soda City, they were precious! There's really only two (2) downsides to Soda City: the prices are very expensive relative to the quality you're getting. Now, you are supporting local businesses, so I don't mind paying a little bit more for it. However, nearly $20 for a good, but not great, slice of pizza and cup of coffee isn't particularly ideal. Also, there's always very obnoxious religious zealots who either scream into a megaphone, or spout race-based conspiracy theories on the street corner. I don't mind the people who have a booth and welcome you to talk to them, but the ones who scream into their microphones kinda ruin the vibe.

I love Soda City! There are blocks and blocks of vendors selling so much cool stuff, bands playing, food trucks, a farmers market and vintage clothes! There is truly something for everyone. My favorite is DJ Voodoo child. He is a master at mashups. Anytime I am in Columbia on a Saturday, you will find me here!

So many vendors offering delicious food, drinks, crafts…. It’s the best market I’ve ever been to.

Lucky to have been visiting when we went. Pride was ongoing and the number of vendors and support vendors were amazing. Lovely people and great food and products.

I visited the market today for the first time and was really impressed. It has a great vibe with street performers playing instruments right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. There are lots of food stands with tasty options from hearty meals to sweet treats. You can also find many other cool things like fresh flowers honey hot sauce and more. I recommend getting there early the later you go the busier it gets. The market is open every Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm.

Soda city has been an amazing addition to my Saturday morning. There is alot of different cultures from foods, natural items, and personal things to buy. Fun place to bring your dog and meet friends listen to music and much more.

Awesome trail with a wild surprise! Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park is one of my favorite spots to run. The trail is smooth, scenic, and perfect for a peaceful workout or walk. You get a mix of nature, water views, and history all in one place. What made my last visit unforgettable? I spotted a real alligator swimming along the canal! Totally unexpected and a reminder that you’re in nature’s backyard. Don’t worry—it kept its distance, but it definitely made the experience exciting! We enjoyed a wonderful time walking some of the beautiful river front trail and resting at times in the benches. A safe and beautiful place to visit and you might even pack a lunch. The rest rooms were clean. People of all ages were tubing down the river too!

Nice place to stop by good for a walk , bike or a run. The view on both sides is peaceful with water flowing on its way. Lots of benches to relax or read a book. They have hammock stand just bring you hammock and enjoy the water sound or take a nap. They have clean restrooms available. Plenty of parking space.

Pretty cool spot. It has an interesting history. The river seemed pretty clean. Utilized by local walkers and cyclists. People having picnics. And I really like that there are hammock frames down by the river.

Its a beautiful peaceful walk along the river. We saw Blue herons, turtles and the Rocky Shoals Spider Lily ( a rare species not to be picked). Beautiful and relaxing.

We walked for a good cause. In to the Darkness, suicide prevention in honor of Chris and my brother Frankie. Meet a lot of ppl and it was a great turnout.

Not my favorite place but it’s still really nice. Took my wife and the dogs here today. Plenty of shade and days like today you’ll need it. I’ll likely go back because I didn’t see a gator today and I need that in my life. I’m a Florida boy so there’s that.

I wish Pittsburgh had a library system as fabulous as Richland County Library. The main branch is unbeatable by far for friendliness, professionalism, knowledgeable about childrens books. The library is bright, colorful. Have a fabulous children and teen section. Unbelievable. Games, blocks, puzzles, drawing areas for the children. Come in on a hot or raining day and spend some time with your children.

While I've only been to this library branch twice, I will not be going back anytime soon. I have several issues with this library. The first one being the homelessness. Before you can even enter the library, there are lots of homeless people scattered outside who will sometimes stare or gawk at you. Same thing inside. I was in the library on the 1st floor minding my own business when a man yelled out to me if i had seen a woman walk by. What woman? I've seen several women walk by sir. The bathroom on the 2nd floor is filthy. I also witnessed a verbal alternation that was full of profanity and which staff seemed slow to act upon(it did happen out of nowhere though) but they eventually handled it. I would advise anyone to go at your own risk and keep to yourself.

This local library has an art gallery in the lobby that shows off the art of a SC based (often Columbia based) artist about every 4-7 weeks. Its one of the many perks this library has in going above and beyond books. While there is a restaurant, a social worker, a film theatre, a library of things and one of the best children’s libraries in the lowest floor - this art gallery is really the cherry on top.

An exquisite place and enticing modern decor that is transcending and inviting! This library offers a wide range of educational incentives for both the young & old (an assortment creative children books and interactive activities for both parent & child on the main floor. This includes an eatery area, public computer access, and weekly activies that include a live jazz band that showcased their talent through an innovative & collaborative storytelling event today. This library is one of the best libraries that I have encountered in many years. The Richland Cty Library is an innovation, and what libraries MUST become to be fully sustainable into the future. Make sure you take the time to put this library on your list if you visit the Columbia, SC area; it is truly an adventure!

This is a beautiful library. Me just moving to South Carolina. Didn't like the idea that you have to go to a different county to use the different libraries. But they did let me use a guest pass. I found the design of this library to be very attractive.

Sesquicentennial State Park is a hidden gem! We really enjoyed our stay—the campgrounds were peaceful and well-maintained, the walking trails were beautiful, and the lake activities and splash pad added so much fun to the trip. It’s a great spot for families and nature lovers alike. Our only concern was the speed at which many vehicles were driving through the campground. With people walking and kids riding bikes, it felt unsafe at times. Slower speeds and better enforcement would really help. Overall, it’s a wonderful park we’d gladly return to. Just be cautious and watch your speed in the campground!

This is a beautiful park located in the middle of an urban setting. Beautiful sand trails, a large lake, a splash pad, and a small campground that needs some attention. The lower loop is best, but the upper loop has lots of tree roots and very steep sites. Would be easier to book if the park included site photos on the booking website. Overall, this is a great park!!!

We stopped for a picnic lunch and a quick walk on a today's road trip. While $6/per person is more than we are accustomed to seeing for State Parks you can tell the money is going to good use. We ate lunch right next to the lake. There are geese so watch your kiddos. We then took the short nature walk to see the spillway/waterfall. It's beautiful here by the lake and under the trees. There are two sets of playground equipment for kids and a bathroom close by. Today the splash pad was closed but looks super fun for kids.

The park was clean and quiet and beautiful. We stayed for 3 nights for a convention and didn't get a lot of time to explore but I am sure we will be back. People walked and hiked and were very pleasant, even the children. It was a lovely park and close to everything.

Beautiful camping in the fall! We had full hookup space 8 for four nights and really enjoyed it. A peaceful getaway near the hustle and bustle of Columbia!

Very nice and peaceful. Definitely can get your steps in. Biking and walking and even open space for soccer or football. Also there's a small water park for kids. Very very family friendly. Would recommend! Only 99.00 for a whole year. That's like not evan 3 pennies a day for year.

The park is well kept, and the trails are nice and wide with the exception of a few spots that were a little narrow at times, but the inclines (3) that were thrown in made it worth the hike. The beginner trail consists of 2-3 miles. that was easily conquered in my opinion, but time ( aches) will tell. 😁

The museum is amazing. The displays and exhibits are incredible. Jackie was so helpful and knowledgeable about the museum. When I asked, she agreed and did the introduction to the YouTube video I was creating about the museum. Thank you again, Jackie! You’re the best! Jim

So happy we stumbled across this hidden gem. It was a pleasant surprise and it is free to visit! The collection of artifacts was amazing and they had everything from personal effects to large scale vehicles. Jackie who worked the front desk was very knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant. We enjoyed chatting with her as well as learning some new history facts from her. A visit to the SC Military Museum is highly recommended for anyone interested in history. It offers an educational experience for visitors of all ages. Some young boys visiting with their grandparents at the same time as us were really enjoying the treasure hunt offered for younger kids. We will definitely be back to visit again!

I visited this charming museum on my recent visit to South Carolina. The staff was friendly. The museum had a wealth of objects for its size. I really appreciated the firearms exhibits. They switch exhibits in the 3rd Gallery every 6 months. The current exhibit is on the contributions of South Carolinians to our Space Program. It was interesting. This place is definitely worth visiting.

I am so sorry we had not visited this museum before. It has a lot of interesting displays and information about the military, weapons, and vehicles from the Revolutionary War forward. We spent about an hour and a half, but we could have stayed longer. They also have a great little gift shop. It is free to visit.

I was out here in Columbia just visiting for the day. A couple years ago my dad passed. He loved military history and we would regularly go to museums like this. I’m not sure if it’s just because I’m older or the memories it brought back of me spending time with him. However, this was the best military museum I’ve been to. I actually stood and read most of the plaques. I would definitely come again. Especially if you are looking for a free experience.

Very informative. Clean and great staff. Little shop at the entrance has good prices as well. They now off a "Tour" on your device (does not read or talk to you) but can translate into other languages for you if needed. Loved the moon rock and Helicopter in the second building. Will come back.

The museum was excellent when I last visited in 2012. But now it has transcended into something spectacular. The collection has grown dramatically, and the exhibits are diverse and focused. If you have not been back in a while, give it another look. If you have never been here, it is one of the finest free military museums out there.

Lotta places to get a drink. A scotch is $11 at most places so it's comparable to just about anywhere but still has that city proximity to more nuanced establishments. 8/10 location

It’s time to fire Beamer. Instead of wasting millions on stadium upgrades, USC should invest that money in getting a better coach and recruiting better players. The program is going backward, and no amount of fancy facilities can make up for poor leadership on the field.

Quiet and good place to focus on your school away from other busy cities. There are great teachers who are willing to help you if you ask. A lot services are provided by the school to help students with their school and social work. It get boring sometimes because it is a small city but overall there are a lot of activities to do

Fantastic campus setting. First time visit and was impressed with the architecture and upkeep of the entire area. It will be a great 1st year experience for my son.

Traffic, "both foot and automobile" are somewhat out of sync around the university and there is a true attitude problem with the students and fac ulty believing that they own the roads. Little attention is paid to the traffic signals for pedestrians and it is a fairly unsafe place to be in general. There needs to be a stronger yet friendly police presence there.

Very well kept grass. Water fountain and pond looked clean. There were a lot of homeless/sketchy people around. I also saw a tent set up for someone. Could be a great park.

Finlay Park has been renovated and it looks amazing. Pickleball courts, ping pong tables, playgrounds, nice sitting areas, two stages, roller skating rental and much more. Great Green space!

5 stars based on hope for the future. The Grand opening, coming November 15, 2025, they say it is going to be fantastic. Hope they bring it back from the less than desirable place it had become.

Absolutely thrilled with the recent renovation! I grew up in Cola and remember coming to this park as a kid and I’m so excited my own kids will be able to spend lots of time here now. We’ve been twice in the few days since it opened and it felt very safe, lots of friendly park rangers and law enforcement officers. The playground is one of the best we’ve been to, the sliding hill is a huge hit, and the little streams were so nice to picnic by and splash in. It’s also nice that it’s so close to the main library so we can do both in one trip. I have a feeling we’ll be spending a lot of time here in the coming years!

The park is absolutely beautiful. They have greatly improved the park. The children's area is perfect and we are looking forward to the concerts. The concert stages were nicely done

Unbelievable that this park is in downtown Columbia! A waterfall, fountain, pickleball, walking trails, etc. The playground for kids is unreal. So clean and so safe. Great place to relax by the water!

I really hope they can keep it maintained and there will be events all the time. Columbia really needed a green space like this. The renovations are beautiful

Mini golf course was good! Clean and well maintained. Arcade games and laser tag as well! The rides were not in service, but over all a good experience

Place was a blast! Took the kids there for a fun day but this place would also make for a really fun date night! Fun for all ages, couldn't get the kids to leave.

It was a great time here. We went through the week, so it's not crowded at all. The lines were short, they had so many games. The racetrack was really fun. It wasn't too expensive. It was your average arcade gaming anywhere from a dollar to 5 dollars per game. Racing was only like $8 each. And you got like three or four laps around, which I found that fair pricing, very clean. They have a small cafeteria type restaurant. Serving hamburg's,chicken, pizza, pop, beer, slushies and more. We were traveling from florida to pennsylvania.Stop by south carolina, a little out of our way, but was well worth the stop.

They had everything here!!! Lots of cool games and even for adults! There was also a go kart track in the back! Loads of fun and something for everyone! Great playtime for an adult group😁

Went today around 12 to 4pm. I wanted to specifically recognize 2 employees for their wonderful customer service and attitudes. One specifically was the lady working the desk where you pay for golf, go carts, etc. She was extremely pleasant and her customer service was excellent. She had a wonderful cheerful attitude and very helpful. The other was the manager today. He was extremely kind and helpful when I got things mixed up there. He quickly fixed my issue. He had excellent customer service. Overall we had a great experience, staff was helpful. We saw staff members cleaning the games and areas.

Had such a fun time playing mini golf with the family. The course was beautiful at night and the kids really enjoyed it!

I had a blast with my children and niece. The food was really good, pricing is reasonable. I had a 12, 9, and 5 year old we had so much fun! I was able to ride my 5 year old with me in the go carts. Games were easy and friendly. Bathrooms were clean, and although it was a busy Saturday I’d go back!

Walked across the street from the Robert Mills House & Garden and was greeted by this stunning home! Free gardens and grounds access during the day as stated at the sign at the entrance gate! So peaceful and stunningly put together. Coming from someone not from the South Carolina area, it was wonderful to see a variety of species native to SC as well as some unique selections as well! Plenty of benches to sit and rest, especially with the tree canopy providing shade. Street parking was easy, accessible and free! The restoration of the home was beautiful. I visited on a Friday morning and it was very quiet and not busy. Highly suggest visiting the gardens!

The garden here is beautiful. It is full of trees and plants that are not all commonly seen in this area. Live oaks, weeping pines, and fir trees shade camillas and azaleas. All the plants and trees are well marked. Lots of things are already blooming, but we will visit again in a month or two for the full show. They are open 10 - 4 Tuesday through Saturday and 1 - 4 Sunday. It is free to visit the garden.

Beautifully kept grounds to still through on your lunch hour or on weekends. Great place for the annual oyster 🦪 roast they have once a year. People who work at these historical mansions do their very best to preserve history and keep the landscape in immaculate condition for everyone to see on each visit here.

I've visited and officiated ceremonies at this location several times. Lovely garden if you love outdoor space. Excellent location for special edition photos, weddings, and elopements.

This is my favorite of the four Historic Columbia House Tours. It's the biggest, grandest house with the most beautiful gardens, I really enjoyed my tour. My volunteer guide was super chatty and fun, I liked her a lot! Make sure to walk around the gardens and read all the signs. The memorial pavilion to the right is really cool. All tours start at the Robert Mills gift shop, and then you walk across the street.

We enjoyed our visit to the grounds. They do not have daily hours, only certain days. Lots of information on the evils of slavery to be found here. Slightly more difficult to find however, is what kind of tree it is that we're looking at. It would be great if they could cover both at least. I'm sure that had we been able to visit on a day that they are open we would have learned more. Grateful that the grounds are open to view even if the tours don't run every day.

The Mann-Simons site is set up as a self-guided experience, so it seems unnecessary to require visitors to pay for a tour guide and drive around the small neighborhood in their own vehicles. It would be much more convenient if the home had open house hours, allowing guests to explore at their own pace rather than being required to follow a structured tour—especially if they’re only interested in one of the houses. While the exhibits consist mostly of videos and informational signs, the history itself is interesting. Overall, I’m glad to have visited the Mann-Simons house, but I was disappointed in the way the tour was structured.

In a number of cities, a select number of houses are preserved as museums - each house museum is often a standalone museum, and the homes that are preserved either had a notable figure(s) who lived there and/or have significant architectural features. Historic Columbia takes an innovative approach where multiple historic properties are under the same organization - this means the historic homes are collaborative with shared resources. It also provides Historic Columbia to tell a more complete story of Columbia's history looking, so they can tell the story of notable people (e.g., Woodrow Wilson, Wade Hampton) but also about regular people and their work to get ahead. Most of the homes come with a guided tour - that's why there are a limited number of tours each day for each house.

Do not just show up up here. Check the website to see if you can figure out when and how to visit some of the historic homes and gardens. Or contact them to ask... it definitely requires more planning ahead than I like to do on vacation. On your adventure, you can hope to learn about Columbia while you see architectural styles spanning three centuries. Or maybe you just wander through the neighborhood admiring the old homes on your own.

Toured the Hampton-Preston Mansion. Our tour guide Denise was an extremely knowledgeable. She went out of her way to answer all of our questions and really took the time to make our experience memorable. I am proud of the strides that historical Columbia has made to include the stories and experiences of enslaved workers that built and ran these properties. Highly recommend to anyone visiting.

This hard working group has preserved historic buildings for Columbia's citizens to enjoy. Their tours are fantastic. They stepped up and prevented our iconic landmarks from being razed when no one else would!

The Historic Foundation saved several of the historic homes 50 years ago and prior to 2015 the tours gave great detail about those who lived in the homes and how they lived. Today the tours are more about political correctness.

We went to the candle light Christmas evening event it was a let down it was supposed to be how people of columbia celebrate Christmas but most of the decorations were plastic most of the tour guides were not as knowledgeable ha some would think Hampton Preston home -Robert Mills plastic reefs on the front doors it was a chaotic experience the horse and buggy ride we paid for was around the block in a wagon drawn by mules or donkeys veey short and uncomfortable ride soaking wet seats so we went on the tour with wet pants the staff was in running at the last minute unprepared .they did have a choir that really sound good while we should out in the rain waiting what seemed like a long time to finely get in only to get only one Christmas Carol when we did get in the house no one would take the time to tell where to go or what to do then the rushed us through the house it was over before it started it seemed I will say that one tour guide did do a great job was very knowledgeable Rose Mary she is English sad a brit knows more about the history of our land marks then the rest of the.lical tour guides who didn't seem to know anything only rushed us through and where not very friendly my advise for next year to the poor folks that were there with us is save your 50.00 dollars next year and go across the river to the Lexington museum were the Christmas event is free long lasting friendly in coustum guides and plenty of free food and refreshments with real demonstrations of how it was in those days lit fire places blacksmith and even enslaved people working in the kitchen columbia historic said there would be hot chocolate we saw none

Great series of trails with lovely views and close to plenty of restaurants. My only complaint is that there are no water fountains along the trails, you need to head to one of the trailheads for that kind of thing.

Nice area to get a walk in right near downtown Columbia

Three Rivers Greenway is an absolute treasure in Columbia! It’s one of the most beautiful and well-maintained outdoor spaces in the area. I love coming here to walk, jog, or just unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The atmosphere is calm and refreshing, with stunning views of the rivers, shady trees, and plenty of wildlife to observe along the way. The paths are wide, clean, and easy to navigate, making it great for people of all ages and fitness levels. You can walk right alongside the Congaree, Saluda, and Broad Rivers, which makes every visit feel scenic and relaxing. There are also plenty of benches, picnic spots. What I appreciate most is how quiet and serene it feels, even though it's so close to the city. It’s a perfect place to disconnect from stress and reconnect with nature. Whether you’re there for a workout, a peaceful walk, or just to enjoy the sunset, Three Rivers Greenway never disappoints. A must-visit spot if you're in Columbia!

It was interesting. They tell about the house and staff during that time as well as the history of pre-, during, and post Reconstruction. It is still a bit in transition. We also saw the Robert Mills house and the Hampton-Preston mansions. It all ties in together. Check into free tour on third Sunday of the month.

Took our kids here a couple years ago. Good experience for them. Good to learn about a former President, and see how he and his family lived during a different time. Sadly, it was closed today. But when it opens again, add it to the "historic things" for the kids to do.

28th President Woodrow Wilson's childhood home. Did not go inside, arrived too late. But, it was still nice to see. It is super close to the statehouse.

First things first, the website does not state the cost, which as of May 22' is $10/adult, and second, it's barely a museum. I could learn more about Reconstruction and Woodrow Wilson from a children's book, than here. The "tour guide" merely led you to the house and unlocked the door and that's it, it's not even clear they know anything about the house or history for that matter. The house is in good shape, but features no real furniture except a few things on display pedestals. Let me do you a favor, skip this one.

Very nice small fire department museum within the Columbia FD with some cool antique items. A must see if you’re a fireman or first responder. Free, but leave a donation in their box.

The museum isn't big by any means but what they have on display and the information about local historical events and people is amazing. It was definitely worth the stop while in town.

Went by to visit website said they were open. They werep closed. Tried to call no answer. Really was a disappointment.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted nicely by the lady in the front and Derek was sure to ask me if I need help with anything. I was in and out within no time and I was fully convinced that home depot's customer service outperforms lows.I did not have to chase anybody down for a service. Derek also made sure to ask if I had a home depot card. I told him I had. I did not but because of this pleasant interaction I will be.

I would not recommend scheduling any install projects with this store. I spent $40 for someone to come do measurements to install three interior doors. The person who did the measurements said someone from the store would be in contact to give me a final estimate and discuss next steps. I didn't hear from anyone for two weeks. It took an additional week plus me going to the store to finally resolve the issue and be refunded. The two people I spoke to were JP and Parker. If they say they will "look into something and call you back" they probably won't.

GENE! From rental department. A man that truly embodies customer service. So much patience throughout our Penske Check out. Gene truly deserves recognition! A bonus or something. He was holding the department all on his own early morning with lots of customers waiting. Each interaction he met it with kindness and patience. Thank you Gene!!

Employee John, a customer and I were on the same isle looking for something for kitchen pipes etc. I overhead John mention he was a master plumber. I asked if I could pick his mastermind and he replied, "Go to Lowes" I failed to see the humor in it. The other customer and John looked alike. He pretty much ignored me after that. While I was looking I called my dad to ask him about my sink issue. John decides to ask if I needed help after his buddy was gone. Said he was just joking. After talking to a manager, I found out I didn't need either product and he in fact showed me what I needed. These stars are for the Assistant Manager that went out his way to help me.

We bought a portable Air conditioner unit 8 days ago at this location, it ran fine for about an hour and then it started leaking everywhere. We boxed it up nice and neat to return it back on the weekend. When we arrived at the store we ware told that the return policy on the unit has changed and it's now 7 days with make us 1 DAY LATE! We asked,beg.. it is over $500! The manager on duty texted the store manager Amy that promptly refused to give us our money back and literally forced us to take the money in store credit! I am beyond angry and frustrated, I wish we had been told about this new policy when we made the purchase. Managers like Amy leave us with the worst experience at Home depot. I would never come back to this location!

My son and I went over to pick up some items to work on his house around 6pm Saturday. We went to self checkout and Employee wanted to scan all are items. My son payed almost a hundred dollars. As we were leaving I told him it should have been only around $65. I carefully examined the receipt and he double scanned Items. He looked frustrated and didn’t seem to care. He told Us to go to customer service. Over a Half hour wait to get refunded for being overcharged. If he’s working off of a commission he’s raking in a bundle. Next time let Us scan and you can just stand there and watch like you were trained to do. It would be nice if Home Depot could hire employees that knew something about construction or at least what they were selling.

Helpful staff, great selection of tools, garden stuff, paint, whatever. Great prices too. They've got all the spring lawn and garden materials in, so time to get started! I shop here at least once per week. Last week I had $800 worth of lumber delivered for their standard $79 delivery fee. I ordered the material online and the delivery guy used his forklift to drop the load at the side of my house, just where I wanted it. Update 8/21/2022: Still a great store with knowledgeable, helpful staff and nice selection of products. Update 5/28/2025: Still a great store with helpful staff.

I don’t know why the public park is not free for parking,and the soccer fields are closed to public people on weekends! You have to pay $5 for parking at the parking lot! Is it under the law? Is it have the permit to charge $5 per car? Confused so much!

This park is awesome. We are on our second annual pass. It has a lot of flat paths for walking running or biking . It has a dog park, or you can just walk your dog on a leash. The paths are set through the bush with views of brooks, and a river that meander through the park. It has a plethora of activities including picnic tables, volleyball net, playground, kayak rentals and a water park for kiddies. The bathrooms are always clean. There is also an environmental center.

What a great day we had at Bark to the Park event today to raise money for Pawmetto Lifeline! Everyone had such a great time. What a lovely park.

Very nice and well laid out park. Entrance fee is nominal and they provide a map. All inclusive park is super nice.

Today was my first time at Saluda Shoals park and I have to say that the new playground is absolutely beautiful. I love the turf so kids can be safe and as care free to able to just worry about playing ( which should be every kids only responsibility). My daughter had a blast running up and down the ramp. I love the fact that its made also for kids that may have disabilities or not capable of using their motor skills normally. I love the over look of the small pond which is guarded with a fence and the small waterfall that just relaxes the atmosphere. I really love everything about it.

Great park! I do wish they had swings. But the splash pad is fantastic! Plenty big enough and the water timer is genius. Keeps the kids guessing! We enjoy it. There is a fee. $5 to enter the park and $3 per child for the splash pad. There is a ton to do I recommend looking at the website and making a full day of it.

Absolutely love this place, it cost $0.00 to have a fantastic day with the kids! Pack a lunch and stay til 2!!

This walk is well shaded and only about 1 mile (2 miles up and back). It connects to Timmerman Trail via the boat ramp parking lot for a longer walk. Unfortunately, both were closed on May 19.

This is a beautiful scenic walk through the woods. It's all paved it's one large Circle and you can see much wild life

The Riverwalk is an awesome series of trails mostly along the river. Majority of the trail is shaded. I saw two buzzards eating a dead snake, a big turtle, lots of birds... definitely a cool place to take a hike or go for a jog. The area also seems to be a great place for bike riding as the roads look to rarely be busy.

Nice, quiet place with tall trees and plenty of shade. The river view is nice even from the single point we could observe. Good rest rooms. Nice ethnic looking carvings on fallen logs and tree stumps is a great concept. Would go there again. On our way to North Carolina, we dropped in here to have a brief 'picnic lunch'. We were going to use a picnic table near the car park. But, the nice gentleman and lady (photo) suggested the river edge site. Thank you sir and ma'm, that was a nice walk and a nice place to have lunch. Since we were behind the schedule for our destination, we couldn't explore the river walk more fully. But, we will surely add that stop in a future trip that way.

I only come here for the disc golf course. Last time I came 6 months ago there appeared to be course improvements happening, those have obviously been abandoned. The course appears to be abandoned and forever neglected. No tee pads, massively overgrown, majority of the course is unplayable, and the rest is miserable because of the overgrowth. You would think that they would keep up with it since it’s a pay to play course. 0/10 recommend. Do not play until they properly maintain and finish the course.

I’m a photographer by trade and graphic design great environment for weddings or large scale events. Or if you want go to the light show Christmas times it’s beautiful an great fit for the kids.

Great place to spend the day. They have parks, trails, tubing, splash pad, picnic areas, and more. Love it there.

Tubing down the river was very relaxing. Just make sure your there before 3:00 or they won't let you on the river.

Great park, for toddlers and all ages. We took our toddler there, and he loved it. It's a huge park with a section called Leo's Landing, which is the place that kids mostly love. It has numerous structures, rides slides. It also has a small zip-line for ages 5 to 10 years. It even has a small place to sit back and read a book, with a selection of shared books in an owl shaped shelf. It also has a splash pad that would open this weekend, we still went to see it. It's a great place for kids n parents to hang out.

I drove from Charlotte to visit the West Columbia Riverwalk, which is about a 1 hour and 45-minute drive. I went alone to try something different from Carowinds or Wet 'n Wild, wanting to enjoy some time in nature. I didn't make an online reservation. Upon arrival, I found that they only accept cash, and there is no ATM on-site. They offer various tube options, and I decided to rent the $35 tube. There's also a $5 rope fee available. A life jacket is required, and I brought my own. Parking is free, with options ranging from across the street to a 5-minute walk, depending on where you park. I had a great time and highly recommend bringing a paddle or float stick. I have float sticks, but silly me left them in the car by accident. The site also has bathrooms and a shower to clean off after your trip. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and highly recommend this place!

I’ve been waiting to experience the Riverwalk in Columbia, SC, and it was absolutely worth it! The moment I stepped onto the path, I was greeted with pure tranquility. The combination of nature, fresh air, and the calming sound of the river made it such a peaceful escape. Everything was well-kept and clean, which made the walk even more enjoyable. The sights along the way were simply beautiful — from the flowing water to the natural greenery, it felt like a little hidden gem right in the city. I left feeling refreshed and already know I’ll be back again soon. Highly recommend if you need a dose of nature and serenity! 🌿✨

Went to the Garden and Hat party. Lovely place. Fundraiser was planned so nice. The fashion show put on with the children was quite exciting. They strutted down the runway like pros. Looking forward to next year!

I only experienced the free gardens and the gift shop at the Robert Mills House but left with such a positive experience! The Hydrangeas were reaching peak bloom during my visit and smelled absolutely wonderful. The exterior of the home is kept in great condition despite its age and the gardens are a must add to your list. Free admission and longer hours to visit if you aren’t able to join the tour. Restrooms on site available to the public in a side building were very clean! Every staff member I came across was incredibly helpful and kind. Perfect place for a picnic, a little inspiration or just to get your steps in. As an out of town guest, I would have regretted not visiting this home and garden during my stay, so add it to your list!

I actually took the tour for this one and my tour guide was the best. I ended up being the only one on the tour, but he was very knowledgeable and great to talk to.

Well preserved mansion designed by prolific 19th century architect Robert Mills. The surrounding formal gardens are open to the public to enjoy for free.

I toured all four of the Historic Columbia houses, and I started with the Robert Mills house, though the Hampton Preston across the street is my favorite of all four. Robert Mills is my next favorite - fantastically restored and preserved, and I love how they have it all set up - especially down stairs in the kitchen, with biscuit flour and a cracked egg on the floor (all pretend, of course.) There's a beautiful symmetry and curves to Mill's work (he's the architect, no one family actually lived there in the end, though it was used for other things.) I love the curved front hall and rooms. I think the tours pre-covid were more guided. The guides told me that they were supposed to stand in the hall while visitors read the plaques, but most of them couldn't help themselves and stood in the door and told me all about everything anyway. Plus, I was the only person on three out of the four tours I took, so I think they were generally more casual. Also, you get a discount the more tours you take - they came to recognize me over the week I visited, so I paid anywhere from $7-10 for each of my tours. EDIT - don't sleep on the monthly garden tours, they are really informative and interesting!

This handsome, historic house and museum at 1616 Blanding Street in Columbia, South Carolina was built in 1823, preserved by the Historic Columbia Foundation and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1974. It was designed by South Carolina native architect Robert Mills, notable for not just one but two Washington monuments. Tours are offered regularly, providing insight into the history of the building that reflects the symmetrical Early Republic, Federalist architectural style. The backyard formal garden and grounds blossom exuberantly in the spring, bursting with vivid, harmonious color, while mirroring the graceful elegance and decorum of the antebellum era.

One of the highlights of visiting Columbia South Carolina. The house has a rich history involving Robert Mills, the architect of the house and most famous for designing the Washington monument. The guide was very informative and always asked if we had questions. Great Costomer service all around. The price for a guided tour is $10 a person and well worth it.

3 floor museum with interesting artifacts. No charge to enter. Nice cool place to explore and escape the heat on a hot summer day. Just head down bull street and it will take you right to the McKissick Museum. You cant miss it.

It's a great collection and nice that it's free. It was a little confusing to find at first. I parked at the corner of Bull and Pendleton. There is a small parking lot there but I thought it might be for student visitors but I bet it would have been fine to park there. But there was plenty of room on the street as well. I could/should have entered on the lowest level on that side but I walked around and in the front door. I asked the girl at the desk where to see the museum and she said to go down one floor - it's scattered on four floors but start downstairs. So I went downstairs and the girl there said to go to the second floor, which is where I got confused. Why didn't the first girl tell me to go upstairs instead of down? It turns out, the bottom floor is officially the check-in desk for the museum, the main floor is the student visitor center. But the museum is mostly on the second floor, with some on the third and a little more on the main floor. After I finally ended up in the right place, one side of the second floor is a display for play, all about toys and games (and some were very nostalgic for me!) and the other side was about folk art with a large gallery of quilts. Up one floor is a natural history gallery, a chain of rooms with some of the oldest items in the collection, fossils and animals, cases of minerals, etc. Then back down on the main floor is a display room with assorted bits of the collection and the school mace. (Further down that hall is the visitor area - a mocked up dorm room and orientation rooms.) Then I went back downstairs to exit out the bottom door closest to my car. I think that only parts of a larger collection are on view but I could be wrong. It's not amazing, but it's great for a free museum, and walking around the historic horseshoe/campus is really nice.

Had to stop in at this free museum and welcome centre on the University of South Carolina campus. Located at the top of northeast end of The Horseshoe, the McKissick Museum features U of SC memorabilia, several natural science additions such as lunar rocks, cultural items like their current quilt exhibit, and the sceptre used for convocation. I spoke with two very friendly lasses, one on the main floor who was a student, and another on the second floor who was a volunteer for the museum and knew her stuff! Would highly recommend a visit, cheers.

Excellent collection of minerals including instruction and explanations. I learned a lot spending just an hour there. There was also a temporary exhibit on bee photographs which I very much enjoyed.

Fun place for the kids. It can get quite crowded in places. Be careful with little ones since this includes all ages.

We love this at the zoo!! Its a great ending to a hot day visiting all the animals and it's never been overly crowded. I would like to see the 'lifeguards' (if thats what they are) to keep people from sitting on the steps and the walk way to the river area. Adults and children seem to congregate there and it's less inviting and accessible for others of us who want to pass through back and forth as it's designed.

So much fun! Great day event for the little ones! It was our first time at waterfall junction today and my son loved it! I did too. It wasn't wild and crazy wasn't packed. Just perfect! They have food and beverages there! And things you can buy if you forget anything at home like sunscreen, hats, swim suits, and stuff! You don't even have to go to the zoo if you don't want to because this was enough for the kids LOL! Defining worth going!

Lots to do but kids like to walk fast and still fall on the slick cement. They really need to change the flooring. We stayed with our kids the whole time but kept helping other kids up. Kids were falling everywhere and busting heads and faces. Like that alcohol is available but way over priced and food is zoo food so again pricey for old stail chips.

Very nice for kids. Esp little kids but older kids enjoy it too. I wish they would expand it a little bit too and add a couple more centers for kids, water slides maybe! But def worth visiting.

Not bad, the sitting area to watch your kids is good but there is a section that is out of sight which isn't ideal if you want to stay seated and let the kids burn some energy... good detour after the zoo.

Geared towards mountain biking and casual hiking, the forest has around a dozen trails that circumnavigate the property. Excellently maintained and supported by volunteers, the trails are well marked and laid out. The property has several valleys, giving it a variety of difficulty ranges for effort and experience ratings. Beautiful views and sounds of nature deeper inside the park.

I visited Harbison State Forest with the intention of biking and had a great experience. The place is very well maintained, and it’s clear that they are actively working on the trails, which makes it even more attractive. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back!

It's a great nature facility, but as a 1st time out there, the trails are marked that well ( that I saw), and although most people were friendly the # of Mountain bikers and some it were very fast on the trails. Maybe it would be nicer during the week vs weekend. Also the Pay for parking, now Requires a Credit or debit card.

Went for a trail run here while visiting Columbia. Beautiful trails, great parking options, good escape from the boisterous and lively downtown of The Big Apple of the South (otherwise known as Columbia SC). Looking forward to the next time I can go back and continuing exploring amongst the forrest!

I like it out here, It offers many different trails to explore and be outside. Never really busy that I have seen and every one is nice when you pass them. Good place to get a good quick hike in or get outside for the day

I run on the trails weekly at least. I love this forest in the middle of the city. The weekends can get busy with mountain bikes, but they are always courteous and have never bothered me. The trails are great and there are so many that I am always changing my routes up for new scenery and they never get old. I love the ever changing forest!

My kid says it’s better for skateboarding than scootering but still lots to play on. Clean, safe, spacious.

What a great area! The playground was great for small and bigger kids. The skate park area was so cool with many different ways to do tricks. There is a soccer field, baseball field, walking trail...the works!

Great place to skate. It has a sweet pump track and the park itself is transition based. The bowls are more advanced. All around awesome place to skate.

A fun free place for family and children. Awesome skate park and bike ramp Trail that is so much fun and I really awesome fun part right next to it. There's also plenty of room for playing sports and just having a fun family picnic. The people there are nice and sharing and caring. All around just a really cool fun place to take your children or to just cut loose and be a kid yourself!!

Fun pump track. I've never been on one before so I had a blast trying it out! Found this little park and decided to make a stop and check it out. Wish we had one of these where I live.! Would love to visit again on my next roadtrip. I enjoy visiting new places to skate. Very clean. Very calm. The pavement was smooth. I did go late evening on a Thursday and after it rained so there wasn't anybody there skating. There were a few puddles due to the rain. Bring some water and stay hydrated! ~Enjoy South Carolina!

I love this place. It is one of the best parks that I have seen so far in Richland County. My favorite part is the playground for kids. I could easily put this place in the top 10 places to visit in the city.

Overall, we enjoyed our visit. The playground area was nice, although a few areas of minimal vandalism present. We wished that it had traditional swings with a toddler seat though. The Zipline like, roller coaster seat was a huge hit with our five year old. It appeared like the bike area and skate parks were well maintained. We didn't use them, but we saw others who did during our visit before the rain.

Always an awesome experience to workout and have quality with family and friends! For leisure or competition! I taught my brother and sons how to play disc Golf, and they love it! The ball (soccer, baseball, and football) fields plus play grounds are fantastic as well! 10 out of 10 stars!

Challenging advanced course, especially # 18. Many narrow shots on the fairways through the trees. But difficult to lose discs. 👍

All I can say is... wow! What a touching and beautiful tribute to all of the South Carolinians who gave their lives in service to our country. I stopped by this park to pay my respects on Memorial Day, and I swelled up with pride to be a South Carolinian. I'd recommend anybody in Columbia, whether you're a native or just stopping through, to stop by and just spend a few minutes of silence in this beautiful space. It'll be sure to touch your heart! Happy Memorial Day 2025!

While the war memorials themselves are very nice and well-done, but like the other reviewers have said, the homeless have unfortunately made it theirs. There are certain places where the homeless shouldn’t be, and desecrating memorials is as a result of letting them stay here. There were several sleeping, smoking, and drinking throughout the park; as it is supposed to be a solemn place for recollection and paying of respects, and though they didn’t directly bother me in any way, I refrained from visiting certain ones such as the Vietnam because they were strewn about. Maybe take the San Diego approach and chase them out of the public parks. Nevertheless, the memorials and monuments were very well done with details such as the famous Korean jacket-wearing soldier like the Korean War memorial in Washington, D.C., the very striking Jewish Holocaust memorial, and the “trench” from the WWI memorial with the Doughboy. Regardless of the homeless, definitely worth a visit to pay respects to the mostly heroes passed on from South Carolina. Cheers.

A little run down. Could use a bit of maintenance. But a very nice hour break for the family one afternoon. Impressive monuments for a city park. Educational for all of us. Pretty cool place for a quick family stroll. Dog friendly, but no places for clean water so make sure to bring some with.

Very nice memorials in this park. A little hard to find but worth seeing. Really sad though that several homeless men were sleeping on or near several statues and someone actually defecated behind one. Unacceptable!

I really enjoy this park as part of my fitness routine for the great trails, convenient location, and peaceful environment.

This is a nice park that has two separate play structures next to each other. One for little kids the other for older kids. They both have trees that provide shade over them. There’s also sidewalk areas you can walk around on including a bridge that crosses over a small creek. There’s fields where you can play softball or baseball as well.

We pay tax dollars to utilize a park that we can never use! We pay a yearly fee for access to the basketball courts and fields, but they never offer reasonable times for use or leave a court/field open for community use! It’s absolutely absurd and really unacceptable! The Saluda Shoals Fields and Seven Oaks Park are also blocking the public from using public facilities! The private organizations are being allowed to monopolize the use of the indoor facilities and fields! This really should be investigated and audited by the municipal authorities and state government agencies!

Had baseball games there thus last weekend, crowded but great park! Concession stand was great, homemade lemonade.... delicious!!! Had hot dogs and nachos. Great food and snacks!!

Ive been here a few times now to watch my nephew play baseball, its nice, no complaints except for the concession doesn't serve any "real food", only nachos, hot dogs, corndogs, and this last time they had some Jimmy Dean's Griddle cake sausage egg and cheese sandwiches. They have candy of corse and chips, can sodas and their lemonade has a nice variety of choices of added favors/colors you can choose. Also the last 2 times I noticed a italian ice vender.

Learning to play disc golf here is super fun! I however, am still not better than the first time. But still fun 😁

I can only say good things about my experience for making final arrangements for myself with the representative Mary Hollowell! She is so pleasant and knowledgeable about all the needs and questions I had! I have went through this process for my mother at her passing, and it definitely was not as pleasant and comforting like Mary Hollowell has made this. She is the best!

St Peter's Cemetery and Elmwood Cemetery are historic and beautiful. You could spend hours exploring the acres and acres of interesting headstones. A number of veterans and those killed in WWI and WWII rest here.

Susie and Cheyenne have been tremendously helpful and truly a blessing in the process of designing markers and a bench for my mother and myself. They have ensured that everything is made correctly and as we discussed, and they have both been patient and compassionate regarding questions and clarification we've needed. These ladies and their staff are a blessing to us, the families they help, and to anyone who has the privilege of meeting them.

I was dreading picking up my husband after his cremation. It was so hard, as we had been together every day for over 30 years. My daughter and I were met by such caring staff and when lead to a private room where my husband's urn was waiting, we were astounded. The way everything was arranged, and the entire atmosphere of the room, immediately put me at ease. It was obvious the care and dignity with which my husband had been treated. We were so amazed we took a picture of the arrangements to share with loved ones up North. They were also very impressed and relieved. From the very beginning of the process, they were so professional. I can't say enough good things about this funeral home and all the staff. They are so compassionate and caring. I feel blessed they had been recommended to us.

Our family has been buried in Elmwood Cemetery since the 1800’s. They have been wonderful to work with planning our most recent funeral. It’s never easy dealing with grief but the staff at Elmwood help every step of the way.
