Cool old downtown area. Lots of small shops and restaurants. On street parking. May have to search for it, depending on how busy it is. Was here on a sunny day, but was in the high 30's. Kinda of a crowd killer.

If you are around Nashville this place worthy a visit. This place is full of great restaurants, cafes and brewery and full of beautiful people walking around. If around , stop there.

The Lotz House Museum is a stately Civil War-era house located in downtown Franklin, offering guided tours that provide insight into American history through antiques and art. The museum's tour is particularly engaging for children aged 10 and up, as it tells the riveting story of a family who lived in the house during the Battle of Franklin. This immersive experience allows kids to empathize with the children who witnessed the historic events, providing a unique perspective on this significant period in American history.
Our visit to the Lotz House in Franklin, TN was nothing short of extraordinary. We knew we would enjoy learning about the local history, but we did not expect to be so deeply moved — or to leave feeling like we had stepped through time with fresh understanding. A huge part of what made our experience so meaningful was our guide, Chuck. His knowledge, warmth, and ability to bring the human stories behind the history to life was remarkable. We were especially thrilled to discover that we could converse with him not only in English, but also in German and French — what an unexpected delight! It added a personal connection that made the tour even more engaging. What stood out most was the balanced and thoughtful narrative presented throughout the tour. In a time when so many historical sites can lean toward one interpretation or another, the Lotz House honored all sides of the conflict with sensitivity and respect. The story of the Lotz family and the harrowing events of the Battle of Franklin were shared in a way that acknowledged the complexity of the past — not glorifying, not erasing, but helping us see the humanity of those involved, then and now. We left with a deeper appreciation not only for this beautiful and historic home, but for the lessons it offers us today. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Franklin — and if you get Chuck as your guide, you are in for a true treat!
Renee M — Google review
This was an amazing experience especially if you love history. It was a lot of information to take in at once, they are ran solely by tourism so please add this to your bucket list. I’m glad we decided to do this tour before leaving for back home in Canada. staff are very educated and welcoming! Must see !! I do however wish we could have taken pictures inside. Cameras are only allowed in the gift shop.
Sara B — Google review
This is one of the best historical tours I have ever been on! My husband and I took our tween boys, who went begrudgingly. Our tour guide was so good that he quickly had them fully engrossed! The home is beautiful, extremely interesting, and full of history of course! We especially enjoyed the original paintings by Matilda Lotz, and were able to purchase a very nice print of one of those works in the gift shop. I will close by admitting my husband is difficult to impress, but he loved this tour! Don’t sleep on this one, just go!
Joslin O — Google review
Fantastic tour of an incredible, historic home! The tour was reasonably priced and the home has a lovely gift shop. Evan was our tour guide and he is so knowledgeable. Thank you, Evan!
Margaret O — Google review
I cannot say enough good things about the people who operate this museum. You can tell that they are so passionate about the history and love to tell the story. Our tour was led by JT, but every single person there was extraordinarily caring, sweet, and educated on all the history. As a local from just down the road in Spring Hill, I’m actually sad that I never experienced the tour sooner. This is absolutely a must do!
Travis R — Google review
A small historic landmark with a big story! The tour was well worth the $17 donation. Tony is a great tour guide! He is passionate about the history of the house and is a great story teller! Thank you Tony.
Spencer M — Google review
I did a tour today of the Lotz House. My guide was Evan who conducted one of the most amazing tours I've been on. He was very articulate and well informed not only of the house but of the Battle of Franklin, architectural history, backgrounds and history of Mr. and Mrs. Lotz and their children. Evan really explained the significance of the battle and how it changed the lives of all who were entangled in the war. The museum has a wonderful gift shop and all of the employees I came in contact with were so kind and helpful. I highly recommend taking the tour whether you are a visitor from another area or a resident of Franklin. Fantastic job Evan!!!
Cyndy B — Google review
We're so thankful that we stopped by and were able to hop on a tour of The Lotz House. The craftsmanship, story of the home, city and Lotz family, original war artifacts and Lotz family artifacts were extremely eye opening and truly breathtaking. Evan was our guide, he was extremely knowledgeable and has a great energy. You can tell he really cares about the history of this home, family and town. I would highly recommend a tour of this home should you find yourself in this area. War buff or not, this is a one of a kind experience.

Farmers Markets
The Franklin Farmers Market, established over twenty years ago by eight local farms, has grown to include numerous vendors offering a wide array of fresh produce, baked goods, handcrafted items, and local art. The market is held every Saturday morning behind The Factory at Franklin and features products from dozens of family farms and artisans. Visitors can find everything from fruits and vegetables to artisanal soaps and specialty foods at affordable prices.
Absolutely amazing market! People are so friendly and there is such a huge selection of products! The lavender stand, the Polish bakery, and the fresh quacamole are all highly recommended. We can't wait to come back!

Any Farmers' Market is an incredible sensory experience, but in Franklin it is another to another level. Combine the market with the proximity of all The Factory has to offer and you have a fabulous way to spend a Saturday morning. Parking requires patience, but it all is rewarding.

Loved the small business appreciation and the overall vibes, but if you get overstimulated easily this may be a lot for you.

So many options here! Great food, health and beauty products, farmstead products and produce. We purchased hot old fashioned donuts, chorizo bowls, BBQ ribs, BBQ sauce, fresh tomatoes and corn on the cob, blueberries, Polish rye bread, macarons, sun dried tomato basil butter, hummus from Hughmus.....so many more options! I enjoyed a visit with Rachel from Myco Terra Farmacy about mushrooms and will definitely be learning more! Great market! Don't miss this one!
Jeni D — Google review
Love love this Farmer's Market! The various vendors and the variety of products make the visit very fun and enjoyable! Flowers, veggies goat milk soaps and cheese, fresh meat and dairy. Always have fun checking each product out!
Virgilia F — Google review
Large outdoor farmer's market with tons of fresh groceries from your beets to your meats, and maybe grab a donut or two! Come hungry as there are many food trucks to choose from plus many plant-based options. You can also enjoy live music as you shop!
Tara 5 — Google review
Even tho it was early in the summer, there was a wide variety of fresh products and artisan hand made items. It's such fun to try new foods, drink a coffee, chat with friends. Support your local community! Also, the Factory is a great repurposed place to visit too.

Carter House, a restored 1830s home in Franklin, TN, served as a crucial Civil War command post during the Battle of Franklin. The house bears witness to the intense fighting with over a thousand bullet holes and stands as a testament to the bravery and sacrifices made during that time. Visitors can take guided tours to learn about its rich history and explore exhibits that offer a tangible glimpse into the past.
It’s an old house full of history. If you like that. You’ll like this. Tour guide did a good job keeping me engaged who was only here by request of my husband history nerd. No pictures allowed inside the house so enjoy some pictures of my husband while he enjoys reading placards chock full of history

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Tour at the Carter House Our tour of the Carter House with Willie as our guide was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, he delivered a thoughtful, thorough, and engaging experience that truly brought the history of the Battle of Franklin to life. Willie has a gift for storytelling—he didn’t just recite facts, he gave context, perspective, and emotion that helped us better understand both the battle itself and the human cost behind it. His passion for the subject was clear, and his knowledge was impressive without ever feeling overwhelming. The way he tied the history of the house, the grounds, and the people who lived through that time together made the tour not just informative, but deeply meaningful. We walked away with a much greater appreciation for the site and the history it preserves. 👉 If you’re visiting the Carter House, ask for Willie. You’ll leave with more than just facts—you’ll leave with a story you’ll never forget.
SHIRLEY S — Google review
Since we moved to the Nashville area, we were planning to visit these historic sites. IT didn't happen right away, but when you expect the least it happened. Being at right place at the right time, just at the time when the expanded tour was starting, is pure luck. It was fascinating to listen to a tour guide delivering all these historic details. Facts about historic events happened just about in our neighborhood. I wish that our Docent was more storyteller than straight fact delivery. Excellent news is that the historic site is expanding, acquiring more land. It's the place to see Franklin.

Where do I start? And wow, I should have paid more attention in history class. My eyes were open, and the tour guide was terrific - very educational and in-depth, providing a rich history of the place. I would highly recommend this place and make sure to be in the Ladies tour group!!
Lori F — Google review
One of the best experiences we had in Nashville! Our guide Randy combined amazing historical detail with a realistic retelling of the family’s story and that of his family’s connection to the Battle of Franklin. Highly recommend!
Richard W — Google review
Our tour guide was exceptional! His name escapes me, however, he was a young gentleman, black hair and blue eyes. This is the favorite tour that he does, as he does several. He was so knowledgeable and informative. Very nice seeing a young person as a historian. Highly recommend his tour.
Debby D — Google review
We came here on a whim and are so glad that we did. We joined a tour late and the guide couldn't have been more accommodating. My husband is on a walker and he was very well taken care of. The guide we had was exceptional. He truly takes pride in his job and knows how to keep people interested.

The Franklin Theatre, a beautifully restored historic movie house, offers a unique entertainment experience with live music performances, film screenings of first-run movies and classics, and family-friendly events. The venue's iconic marquee has been lighting up Main Street since 1937. With its full bar and concessions, guests can enjoy old-fashioned surroundings while watching a movie or attending a live show. The 300-seat theater has hosted renowned artists such as Amy Grant, Sheryl Crow, and many more.
Recently, I was fortunate to get to attend a private event at The Franklin Theater. The entertainment was Kenny Loggins & his band. He's a legend and sounded great. The opening act was a young singer songwriter named Hunter Hawkins. She was terrific, like a young Joni Mitchell. It was a magical night. The theater is beautiful.

I have attended many concerts at the Franklin Theater. They host excellent concerts. We have been to three concerts in the past month, all top notch. Atmosphere is friendly and casual. Employees are very nice and helpful. I love this venue and plan to attend more events.

Hi. Everyone should go, I can't say enough about the venue, FIRST CLASS !@@! EVERYTHING was PERFECT. I have been to over a 100 shows at Venvues all over the Naahville area, 250 mile radius. Gallery 202, located in historic Clouston Hall on 2nd Avenue South Franklin, TN, is a unique art space with a rich history. The gallery is housed in the former residence of local artist Bunn Gray and was originally built for social events by Edward G. Clouston in 1921. Visitors can explore a diverse range of art forms including paintings, antiques, pottery, jewelry, and sculptures from both local and national artists.
Jim took the time to understand our need and make sure we found what we want, even if we ended up commissioning a work. We found the exact piece, Marigold Dreams by Julie Harvey. Looks like the room was made for it! Nice to meet Kelly and glad to have 2 new friends. Highly recommend taking the time to visit the gallery!

We had a wonderful time looking at variety of art pieces. The owner’s kindness had a significant impact on my son, he’s a young artist. By taking the time to review my son’s drawings and providing helpful feedback, the owner demonstrated genuine interest and support in my son’s drawings. The owner’s act of kindness likely boosted my son’s confidence and motivation to continue pursuing his passion for art. The positive and encouraging feedback he received made him feel valued and appreciated, reinforcing his own abilities. The supportive interactions with the owner were incredibly inspiring.

This gallery was part of a walking tour I took in Franklin and I think it was the highlight of the tour! This is a wonderfully curated gallery in a historic home. Kelly. the owner (and artist), was so welcoming and excited to share all the art with us. I had to go back later and pick this piece up; it's the first fine art I've ever purchased! That's how good this gallery is!

When you walk into Gallery 202, you are greeted with a warm welcome from the gallery owner, Kelly, and his infectious smile and southern hospitality. The gallery is full of beautiful pieces of art and antiques. Kelly is an amazing artist, and I have been able to purchase a couple of his paintings. He took great care in packaging the paintings, and they were shipped quickly. Please be sure to check out Gallery 202; you will be glad you did.

Kelley and Jim are very welcoming and knowledgeable. Kelley Harwood is an extremely talented artist. I have personally given him 2 commissions for paintings for our home and my office and he vastly exceeded our expectations on both occasions. They also carry excellent works of other regional artists and we have purchased several of those over the years. I could not endorse Kelley,Jim and Gallery 202 with more enthusiasm. If you enjoy fine art and artists you have to go if your ever in Franklin. Beautiful historic home for the 202 Gallery as well. Sam Yeager

Got to visit this amazing art gallery today with my daughter. While we loved viewing the amazing art work, getting to chat with Jim and learning history of the house and more about the artist made this our highlight of the day! Great place to visit! So many little stores with great unique things. We visited the record store, art gallery, eat delicious alligator, and my favorite part was the little plant store that has butterflies flies and insects as art display, beautiful thing a! Never seen such thing!

This is a great shopping and eating district all in one place. Its like an indoor mall with a lot of rustic character. Great eye candy and window shopping. I loved the vibe. We had a great meal at the White Alligator - the Shrimp Wedge Salad was amazing. Great place for groups to meet since there are many eateries to choose from - something for everyone's liking. It can get super busy on the weekend so heads up and plan ahead.
Samone J — Google review
My wife and I love this industrial place shopping/dining area! So many amazing shops, but one that stuck out above the rest. “Times Past and Present” is the oldest store in the factory and it is an absolute treasure. The owner was the sweetest lady and we loved hearing the history of the store and the factory! We just about missed the store however because it is kind of off to itself. Had I not had to take a call and step off to the side; we may have missed it! So happy we found it. The Find was also a great vintage “find.” Pun intended. Lunch at Hattie and also never disappoints. We love visiting the factory every trip we take to Nashville. We will most definitely be back!

Great local boutiques and restaurants. And a great centerpiece bar with work areas tables to gather and talk and meet. Great coffee shop in here some, business offices good taco place... good amount of parking. I haven't even mentioned the private theater that you can rent out and the movie theater that's there.
Russell A — Google review
Parking is a bit chaotic but overall this is a pretty cool place. We went Friday night for dinner at Edleys and came back for breakfast Saturday morning to get donuts at 5 daughter's bakery. They had a nice farmer's market going on at the factory with live music as well. If you can look past the packed parking lot (they do offer valet as well) then it is a pretty cool place. With different stores and restaurants. They even have an event space you can rent inside that host different things (there was a pop up boutique that day)

A Franklin gem. If you’re in town you have to stop. Great food. Great shops. Unique options. So much charm. Great for couples or the the whole family.

Really trendy shopping and dining center built in an old stove factory. You pay a bit extra for the atmosphere but it's a pretty place with lots of variety. My biggest complaint was the stores all close pretty early so if you are wanting to check them out, go before dinner.

Very cool building, found out Reba McEntire filmed a music video here and that's why some of the windows are painted red to help with lighting for the music video. They were unable to get the red paint off so they just left it.

Nestled just south of downtown Franklin, Tennessee, Winstead Hill Park is a captivating blend of history and natural beauty. This compact green space was once a pivotal site during the American Civil War, where Confederate General John Bell Hood commanded his troops from its elevated vantage point during the Battle of Franklin in 1864. Today, visitors can explore well-maintained walking trails that meander through lush forests while soaking in breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and city skyline.
It's a great park. Very beautiful with lovely paths to walk on that are well maintained and also not too long. You feel surprisingly remote considering there is a target parking lot next door. Great place to walk you dog too but only on a leash of course.

Great city park, very quiet with nice walking trail. Also historically important, the high overlook provided a view of the city prior to the Battle of Franklin. Still a nice view today, although some mature trees have blocked the view slightly.

Great little paved walking/running path with a few view bridges and wetland/woodland scenery that is adjoined to the Observation Point and a significant part of history. The restroom is unisex and basically a porta potty enclosed in a building. It's pretty basic but private and after a lap or two you've pretty much soaked up the sights.

My family and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery here. Good history at this location and great details of the Battle of Franklin and Nashville. The trail is about a 3/4 of a mile and you can many folks here with dogs, scooters, or running. I can definitely see this as a picnic area as well. I believe there is a small public restroom and plenty of parking. We felt safe here and definitely will go back!

This is just a gem in the ruff... What a fantastic Road side stop. So much history in one stop. So much sadness... So many lives lost..

Heartbreaking memorial to the 7000 Confederate casualties suffered in the Battle of Franklin. Worth pulling off to see. I'll be going back again. Read up on the Battle before going. We should never forget these things. Salute to the good folks who built it.
Gary P — Google review
Right down the road from the Carter House, it's a nice stop to get the view the Confederate commanders had of the battle of Franklin. Even though trees block portions of the view, it easy to understand how this location provided an excellent observation of the battle.

Lovely place for a 3/4-mile walk through the woods. Civil War interpretive signs help explain the significance of the site in the Battle of Franklin. The squirrels everywhere were about the only companions I had this September evening. I'd love to come here again.

The Park at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, Tennessee spans 200 acres and was once a historic horse farm. It now offers hiking trails, a dog park, and a sports arena for visitors to enjoy. The Main Barn on the property was finished just before the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941.
It is a beautiful park both coming from Franklin or floating down the Harpeth river. We attended recently a 4th of July celebration and also floated by in kayak over a regular August weekend. Definitely recommend it either way. Enjoy it with your family and friends. :)
Ivan N — Google review
I have mixed feelings about this and am having a hard time trying to decide how to write a review. We attended Pilgrimage Music Festival here. The farm itself was great... but my biggest obstacle was the lack of accessibility. The festival made an effort, and I'm going to try to find the Festival itself to leave a review about those efforts. Overall, bumpy grass fields, gravelly roads, roads that were originally paved but have since noticeably deteriorated--seriously painful and challenging for anyone using a wheeled mobility device. It's a large farm, which is good in that you can fit in a lot (three performance stages, countless vendors and food options), but it's also a lot of ground to cross. I was exhausted by the time I got from the street to inside the front gates. The farm is great if you're fully able bodied. It's very charming and the perfect area for events. If that were the case for me, I'd give it five stars. But if you have any mobility issues, here's your heads up. Don't go alone. Have someone to help push or pull you, or someone who can go get you things while you stay in one place. (If you're in an electric scooter or wheelchair, you're probably fine? Just don't go when the fields are wet. You'll get stuck in the mud.) I don't have a lot of photos of the farm itself, just the artists at the festival, so here you go.

First time visiting for the 4th of July fireworks, and it was a fantastic experience! The entire event was very well organized, with clear signage, smooth traffic flow, and helpful staff. There was plenty of open space, making it easy for families to spread out, relax, and enjoy the festivities without feeling crowded. The atmosphere was festive and family-friendly, with lots of people bringing blankets and lawn chairs to settle in comfortably. The fireworks show itself was impressive—beautifully choreographed and lasted a good amount of time. We’ll definitely be coming back next year. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a safe, enjoyable place to celebrate Independence Day!

Amazing park for the 4th of July celebration. Look forward to coming back for the dog park and fishing the pond.

Wonderful place to come for a walk! If there is not an event happening. I would recommend walking around the farm but then heading towards the lake in the back of the property! Big trees with lots of shade that I'm sure would be great for a picnic. Also it is pet friendly! But they do recommend pets to stay on a leash. Also, legendary horse, Midnight Sun, was laid to rest here. Would recommend if you have a some time to relax.
Lupe R — Google review
Wow. Lots to do at this park! Plenty of photo ops too. While we were there, a bunch of other people were doing wedding photos. That is how nice of is. We went after hours so it was nice and quiet. Good for nature, but not much action with dogs and horses. Planning on going back for walking the dog, having a picture session for our family, or just taking another walk.
Tim H — Google review
This was our first visit to The Dog Park at Harlinsdale Farm, and it definitely will not be the last. The park itself is set back far off of Franklin Road, easily accessible with ample parking. The entire property is gorgeous, and there are separate fenced-in areas for the large and small dogs. But the most important thing is that ZIGGY loved it. The dogs were well behaved, the fenced-in areas clean and well-kept, and the other "parents" were friendly and welcoming. Definitely a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ experience‼️
Phil — Google review
For a long time Harlinsdale Farm was a hidden gem. Unfortunately for people who want a secret escape within city limits, those days are over. You can still find a quiet spot to enjoy the sunsets, take fido to the dog park or walk around the pond but you won’t be alone. It’s become one of the premier photo shoot destination of Franklin which is nice and also a bit annoying.

Pinkerton Park is a public recreation area located just half a mile south of downtown. It features walking trails, picnic pavilions, and extensive playground equipment, making it an ideal destination for families with young children. The park offers riverside trails and picnic spots, as well as quick access to Fort Granger Trail where visitors can explore Civil War markers and enjoy views of downtown.
Another great park in the Nashville area! Tinkerbell playground was so adorable and huge ! Lots of room for many kids. The trails were also very cool! There is also a trail off the paved one that is around the park that people mainly use for jogging and such, and it's really neat! It isn't for small children, but my 7 year old did fine. It's up a steep incline that is rocky, but after that, it's a wooden platform and then a grassy trail. There are also little plaques stating history facts about the war and after the war. The park is huge and has so many obstacles for kids, there was a rope jungle gym to climb, a whole wooden castle theme playground, swings, slides, a little log and rock obstacle course, little rock climbing formations, they have outside cement bench and table with outlets, they have a cement ping pong table and the equipment to play cornhole, just need the hackey sacs. It was a beautiful view and experience. Kept clean too!

This park is a classic example of the city. It’s full of great places for family gatherings picnics and place for kids to run around on the playgrounds. The mile park track has been there for a very long time and I’ve had plenty of great memories there going back to my childhood. The playground is worth letting kids go have fun. There’s plenty of places to bring your hammock and enjoy reading a book or having a nice swing. The drive over there is worth every second along with going and seeing a movie during the summer time is worth trying out.

Being out of state we needed a nice place for our dogs to walk. And this park I would highly recommend to anyone traveling with dogs. Our hotel was a quick 11 minute drive, easy to navigate to and from and park offers plenty of parking. Our dogs enjoyed it and so did we! A real gem in Franklin!

Fun playground! My kids love this park. Wish there was more shade, but it's definitely awesome. It has a mommy and baby swing which is super cute! It also has ping pong tables in front of the park. Oh and a cute theater stage and sand pit!

Pinkerton Park is a fun place for all age groups to spend a good day! They have a dedicated kids 👧🏻 👦🏻 area with a lot of fun activities 🛝 🏓 🏞️ 🛹 . There are also areas were one can bring their hammock and rest and relax 😎 There is plenty of hiking 🥾, walking 🚶‍♂️ trails around the park as well. Also if your looking for shelter, they have 3-4 spots with good seating capacity. If you are visiting or a local here and looking for a relaxing evening, Pinkerton is the place!👍🏻

Nice park, great grounds and equipment. Hung out at the canoe/kayak launch for a couple hours just enjoying the water on a blistering hot day. Very clean, there were some trash remnants in the river/creek, but mostly very clean.

So rare to find a park that stays open after sunset (often until 9pm). Lets the kids get out the bedtime zoomies on the two playgrounds while the parents can get in their steps on the mile-plus walking track. One of the free public access gems of Franklin.

Noble Springs Dairy, located just a short drive from downtown Franklin, offers visitors the chance to tour their milking parlor and cheese-making facility while interacting with their goats. The farm hosts special events like baby goat cuddling dates and Goats and Guitars, featuring live music and cheese boards. Families can enjoy guided educational experiences where they can learn about the goats, pet them, and cuddle with the baby goats for a small fee.
I own a cheese shop in Knoxville and visited recently to meet the owners and learn about the goats and creamery operation. Dustin was amazing and introduced us to their four different breeds of goats, including dozens of babies which were so cute and playful. He also explained the cheese-making process, and I was struck by how much work it takes to produce a quality goat cheese product like they are making. It gave me a whole new appreciation for family-run farms and creameries. I would definitely recommend a visit and tour of the farm to get an up-close look at where our food comes from and to support a small business. Absolutely worth a trip!

We've been a few times for the tour. The family is extremely friendly, welcoming, and educational. They are great people and their cheese, fudge, etc. is delicious! We love going here with the kids. They are an amazing family and would highly recommend.

Noble Springs is a goat dairy in Franklin, TN. They make the best goat cheese around! They have really fun farm tours where you can meet the goats and other farm animals. You can also try and buy cheese at the farm tours! They sell cheese in many local Nashville restaurants and stores! Check them out and try their cheese! You will not be disappointed.

One of the most beautiful spots in Franklin / owned by the sweetest family. we go as often as we can! The goat cheese is amazing- a must visit
Emily W — Google review
The goats are super cute and the owners are really nice but for $28 you should get an actual board with meat, cheese and crackers. Instead you get dollops of cheese and a small packet of wheat thins with a mini beef stick.
Rose S — Google review
We visited two weeks ago and will definitely be back for the live music. The farm is beautiful and the goats are kept so well. We met one of the owners and she is pleasure to chat with. She does a wonderful job at keeping up with all the work in the farm. We had no trouble with parking, I guess it depends on the time of year or if it rained which makes total sense. The little piglets were also super cute and the farm dog was so chill. Definitely worth buying the goat cheese it’s honestly the best we’ve had ever. All the different flavors she makes are so creative 😊. We will definitely be back! If you’re down in Franklin, TN this goat farm is worth the visit.

My family and I enjoyed this tour immensely! Our tour guide, Kaitlyn, was kind and very knowledgeable. My boys were thrilled with the stories she told and I love how that helped them learn some history as well. I highly recommend this particular tour, with one small* word of caution- you might not want to bring young children- serious adult situations are discussed in some cases. My boys are 13 & 10 and I felt some of the stories were a bit heavy for them, but honestly they savored every gory detail! What a great segue into Halloween.

My girlfriend and I were in town for a few days and decided to join the ghost tour led by Joe on Saturday March 19. We had a really great time exploring the town and learned a lot of interesting facts both about general history of Franklin and plenty of spooky local stories as well. It was a really unique and fun way to spend the evening and I highly recommend taking a tour if you're in town! Joe was super charismatic, kind, and very entertaining. Well worth the money and time!

Fantastic! My first ghost walk, and it was so good! Our tour guide was Joe. He really made it memorable with his enthusiasm and eerie pics he share on his tablet. Franklin Walking Tours offers a variety of experiences for history and architecture enthusiasts. The tours cover four National Register Historic Districts and seven local Historic Districts, showcasing homes and buildings in different architectural styles such as Federal, Greek Revival, Victorian, Tudor Revival, Queen Anne, and bungalows. The Fierce Females tour highlights notable residents including suffragettes who fought for women's voting rights and the town's first female mayor.
This was our 3rd time doing a ghost-walk with Franklin Walking Tours. This is the original ghost-walk tour company in Franklin and they know their Franklin history well! We had Nola as our guide this time and she had such a different perspective than the other guide we previously had, so that the tour was very different. While touring outside the historic Masonic Lodge, we were unexpectedly invited inside for a private tour by a couple of the masons. Such history inside! Nola graciously took time after the tour to give recommendations on some late-night snack options for us. I would take a 4th ghost-walk tour with this company, it’s that good!

We had such a great time on the Grim & Ghostly tour! Chelsea was our guide, and she was amazing…so fun, full of energy, and really knew her Franklin history. You could feel how much she loves what she does. Such a fun and unique way to learn about the town!

I took the Grim and Ghostly tour and had the best time! The weather was prefect, and our groups guide Alicia was amazing! She has a real love of history and spooky events from Franklin's past. The tour is never rushed so you have time to enjoy each stop and ask questions. It is even dog friendly one of our group brought her fur baby along on his first tour. At one point we even had a Black cat join our group for a block lol. I like to think that's a good sign for a Ghost Tour. It is a walking tour so wear comfortable shoes but be prepared for a great time! At Twine graphics stop we were able to go inside hear the story about it plus the employee working shared some stories of spooky events! The final stop is Cherry Manor probably the most haunted places in Franklin! Alicia shared photos that people from past tours had captured and shared with her. Plus, the story of what happened earlier this year during a tour was spooky & amazing! If your ever in Franklin I highly recommend making time for this tour!

Came to visit Franklin for a long weekend. Booked a walking tour ahead of time. Jessica met us at Landmark Booksellers. The bookstore itself was a historic building where the tour began. We were surprised but pleased that my wife Linda and I were the only one on the tour. Jessica had an assistant (sorry I don’t remember her name) so we basically had a one on one tour guide. The tour started at 9.30 which I soon realized was an effort to beat the heat. Jessica was aware of that and looked for shady places to stand. It was an easy walk and we visited several historic building and were given their interesting backgrounds. The tour concluded with an excellent cookie from a local bakery. If we visit again we would consider doing another tour with Franklin Walking tours. I think we would like the ghost tour.

Located in downtown Franklin, Bicentennial Park is a beautiful urban park that was created to commemorate the city's bicentennial. The famous Franklin Greenway path starts at the north margin of Bicentennial Park. Besides being a great spot for biking and scooting, Bicentennial Park also includes an overlook of the river.
Made a quick stop at Bicentennial Park to appreciate nature after the Dickinson Christmas 2021. Nice and clean - well maintained park. Heritage Foundation of Williamson County is a nonprofit organization that focuses on the preservation of historic resources in Williamson County, including downtown Franklin. They offer self-guided walking tours highlighting several historic sites and are committed to the revitalization of downtown Franklin while preserving its architectural, geographic, and cultural heritage.
Today we interviewed Williamson County historian Rick Warrick. I have never met a man that is so full of rich knowledge, and is so willing to share it with others. This was a part of our 225 anniversary project that unmistakably links the histories of Williamson County, the City of Franklin, and Franklin First United Methodist Church together. If you have a chance to go by the Old Old Jail, which is the location of Rick's office, it is well worth your time. Not only that, but the new History and Cultural Museum sits right next door and tells a beautiful story of the landscape of Franklin and our community. 100% recommend!

The Heritage Foundation is seeking to run a third party event center that would require a rezoning in the heart of the residential section of downtown Franklin. They are actively threatening the foundations of the community that has attracted the economic development and tourism that they promote. In this endeavor, which is being executed with heavy handed PR / Spin and outright antagonism to historic homeowners, It seems they have finally completely lost sight of the appropriate order of their missional priorities.

Families can enjoy the children's playground and picnic pavilion while taking in serene views of the lake.
Very clean a cozy. Playground and picnic area is near so you can easily have a picnic with kids and enjoy outdoors. Trails is a very well maintained. There were a lot of fish in the river that we watched for a while on the bridge and while walking on the trail you can spot a lot different kinds of birds. Dogs must be on a leash. Parking lot is not to big but always has a free spot.

5 stars for the park overall. Very well maintained, kept up to date, and clean as well. Restrooms on site. Very peaceful, nice trail, lightly rushing water, sometimes fish in the water. Several seating areas (a covered area, a pergola with seating, and benches throughout). 4 stars for the playground cause it’s missing swings. But it has several slides, rock wall, etc…

I love how this park is so unique to all others in this area. People who come here aren't dressed for a long hike. They come in work clothes just to take a moment away from the busyness of Cool springs and their desk jobs. It winds along a creek with multiple shady spots. It's fairly flat so you don't need any special shoes. It's just a little peaceful respite in the middle of all the craziness of your regular day!

We needed a place to walk after lunch and was please to find Aspen Grove Park. All references are Aspen Grove Drive and Seaboard Lane. It is also off Cool Springs Boulevard with parking and access between P.F. Chang's and Core Life Eatery. It consists of a delightful .8 mile pave walking path with three bridges crossing Spencer Creek. Thanks to the warm winter we saw daffodils leaves which will make a lovely walk in a couple of weeks. We also saw two deer coming up from the creek and blending into the wooded area. It's a short enough trail if you don't have time and pretty enough to want to do the loop more than once for a longer walk. There's also a nice playground, clean restrooms and a nice pavilion. You can access this park from Cool Springs Boulevard, the main entrance from Aspen Grove or the next door office park. It's ideal for workers who need to get out of the office but don't have a lot of time.

There is a way you can ride up to Owl Creek park, but more connections and extensions are needed to reduce driving to this great 👍 park.

I can’t believe it’s taken me 3 years to actually hike through the trails here!!! (I honestly didn’t expect trails in the middle of housing developments to be so wonderful. Woops!) Today my pup and I took the morning to explore all the trails and oh be still my heart- it was GORGEOUS. Grateful to have a local spot to fill up on nature and get a good walk in!! Definitely making this a part of our weekly routine! (Until the humidity and heat invade!)

Nice park and area to explore and walk around. Never been inside the old house but it’s very* crowded on weekends with photographers and weddings, etc. there’s also a barn, fire pit area, old spring house, pond and a few miles of trails. Worth visiting!

Love this beautiful library. It's amazing to have such a beautiful and well maintained library in our community as a place to gather, study, work, and better ourselves in so many ways. It's always wonderful to take a day to work here and see all the community come through with their children fostering the love of reading and self improvement. All staff has been wonderful and the place is just wonderfully peaceful.

WOW. I love this library! I am a Maury County resident. However, I work for Williamson County Schools. I stopped in to use a computer quickly, and everyone I encountered was so nice. I was helped right away and treated with such kindness. It was so clean and well organized. I was extremely impressed at the size of the library and the huge book selections. I am jealous of this library!
Carlee M — Google review
I absolutely love the Williamson County Library! The staff is always friendly and helpful, making every visit a pleasant experience. The collection is fantastic, offering a great selection of books, audiobooks, and digital resources. The children's section is especially wonderful, with engaging activities and storytime sessions that make learning fun. The library is clean, well-organized, and a peaceful place to read or work. Their community programs and events add so much value, catering to all ages and interests. Whether you're looking for a quiet place to study or a lively event to attend, this library has something for everyone. Highly recommend visiting if you haven’t already! ❤️

This is a really good library and everyone here is very helpful. Clean, quiet and full of resources just like a library should be.

This library has a good selection of children’s books. The library has separate spaces of adult, teen and children sections. There is a librarians to help in each section. The environment is very friendly and welcoming. The staff of the library is knowledgeable and helpful. To get library card was fast and easy process we got card and key chain mini card so it is very convenient to use. We usually order books online and just coming to pick it up, fast and simple. Because if we are going to browsing through the shelves we always end up with a whole stack of books 😅 It has a reasonable parking area with plenty spaces to park. There is also a drive through books drop off
Liudmyla K — Google review
We love the toddler and baby story times! The play room is also a nice way to escape the heat.
Annette N — Google review
Lovely library. All the things one hopes for in a library. Kids play room closes an hour before the library at 5pm. It's a great place to teach your kids about using community resources respectfully, like leaving a place nicer than you found it. Or at least as nice. Like, clean up after yourselves. Which should go without saying, clean up after your kids too. I mean, right. Anyway. A+ TO WILCO on a very lovely library.

Eastern Flank Battlefield Park is located in Franklin, in the Eastern area of the city. The park offers 110 acres of outdoor event space perfect for hosting meetings and other events. The trails are historic interpreted and perfect for kids to ride bikes or take a leisurely walk while enjoying the sites and history of the battlefield.
So hard to write a review about a place like this. If you walk the 1 mile path, go to the right first. You will be able to follow the signs better. In awe of what happened on those grounds and the blood thar spilled. Be sure to visit the gift shop and do the tour. So amazing to see the signs in the cemetery. The love that was shown to one and all in death.
Lorna M — Google review
Great place to walk. Several routes of different distances are available. Plenty of benches. Clean restrooms are on location. Plaques of the different participants of the battle offer insight to the battle.
Fred Y — Google review
A place to get out and walk around with information at different stations along the path. Sobering place to visit and foibles about all those who gave their lives
Terri B — Google review
Beautiful and safe walking trail and historic park located close to the center of Franklin. Highly recommend for a brisk sunset or sunrise walk.

For history lovers, this is a great place to visit. The house and grounds are beautiful. The tour guide was was versed in the history of the house and the historic battle that took place here.

Beautiful campus for The National Day of Prayer event. A must-see location with plenty of walking paths that tell the rich historical battle landscape of Franklin, the Confederate Cemetery and the Carnton family story.
Jody T — Google review
Very nice place. If you want to know the history of our past and understand the difference between the battle flag and the confederate flag you need to go there. Remember and honor our soldiers for without them we wouldn’t be a free country. Perfect place to get your facts straight.
Pearline T — Google review
Absolutely amazing place an great ppl ❤ The battlegrounds are well kept the original fencing 😲 but my favorite thing was the cemetery. I have photos to share with everyone.

Hiking Trails
Nestled along the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway, Timberland Park is a hidden gem just a short drive from Nashville. This serene wooded park offers an array of hiking trails that rival those found in more popular spots like Warner Park, but without the hustle and bustle. Visitors can enjoy peaceful walks through nature, with options to create custom hikes up to two miles long. The Big East Fork Reserve Trail stands out as a favorite among hikers for its beauty.
Very nice hiking trails and easy to follow. The trails are well marked and informative tree markers. Just need some day hikers because the trails are not Rocky and uneven. They have a really nice nature center with maps and info. The staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. Pets are allowed as long as they're on leash. Picnic tables are available. And plenty of loop trails. Also a pond at bottom of : Big East Fork trail. Parking and bathrooms are available. Saw an 🦉 and Red Belly Woodpeckers on ridge. Benches are everywhere on trails. They offer a variety if nature programs. Enjoy and please keep it nice for others.
Free B — Google review
Awesome hiking trails! Great for me specifically because you go down and then come up on the way back. Great pond/lake too! There was a really cute bench swing near the parking lot that had a breathtaking view. The hike was not difficult, but I would not recommend it for strollers.
Savannah K — Google review
Nice park very well maintained by Wilson County. Trails are very wooded. Not particularly spectacular views but good exmplar of middle Tennessee forests. The parking is at the top of the hill just off the trace. There are several options for trails the longest is about a two mile loop. The nature center has hiking sticks you can borrow! Given the elevation change you should grab one! Do be aware many of the longer trails go through private property and are NOT DOG FRIENDLY. They're well marked and there are trails were dogs are fine. Just be alert plan appropriately and be respectful. Overall a great place to visit for a day hike or even just an afternoon hike. Park closed and gate locked at 6pm so don't get stuck.
Trey T — Google review
Timberland Park is very nice. The tail is well maintained and is ADA Accessible. Dogs on a leash are permitted. The welcome center is very nice and informative. My only complaint, was the grouchy man sitting at the desk. He obviously hates his job and is a downer for this beautiful park.
L C — Google review
We have been going to Timberland since it opened and love it as a daypark! We like it for several reasons, one of which is that it gives you a strenuous hike in a fairly short period of time. They’re working on some new things out there right now for the kiddies, too.
John R — Google review
Excellent park, various degrees of hiking trails. If someone is new, it's easy to get lost without maps or directions. Nice visitor center, clean facilities. Super interactive and friendly staff. There are lots of small to medium trails. There are few picnic tables right near the visitor center.
Madan N — Google review
Love this park! Came early in the AM and parking lot was empty. Easy to find a number of trails to start from. Beautiful and easy hike deep into the woods without seeing others - ran into one other person on a cross-trail. Dog friendly but there is a preserve where pets are not allowed off of the Nancy Conway trail.
Jessica D — Google review
A beautiful park with lots of trails. It is well maintained and the trails are labeled well. There is a short segment at the entrance that is ADA accessible which is wonderful.
