The Queen's Staircase in Nassau, Bahamas is a significant historical landmark consisting of 66 steps carved from limestone by African slaves in the late 18th century. This impressive staircase was constructed as a shortcut to Fort Fincastle, strategically located at the summit of Bennet's Hill to defend against potential invasions. The site holds deep historical significance, with its construction honoring Queen Victoria for her role in abolishing slavery in the Bahamas.
Well worth a stop. No admission charged though some may request payment. We did accept an offer for a narrated tour which was well worth the $10 tip we gave.
Jerry H — Google review
The Queen’s Staircase is a must see when visiting Nassau. It’s not only beautiful but also filled with history. The staircase was carved out of solid limestone in the late 1700s by enslaved people and later named in honor of Queen Victoria for her role in helping abolish slavery in the Bahamas. Walking the 66 steps feels like stepping back in time, and the lush greenery surrounding the area makes it a peaceful and scenic spot. It’s a place where history and natural beauty come together, and I’m really glad I had the chance to experience it.
Rodzilla — Google review
Great place to visit if you're in for a cruise. It's quick, educational and easy to get to. There are vendors at the top of thr staircase if you're able to climb to the top.
Alan P — Google review
Beautiful views. Unfortunately, my tour bus driver got us there so late, we didnt have time to go up. It will be crowded. But yeah definitely gorgeous.
Edwine C — Google review
Beautiful historical place near downtown Nassau with a greenery view and waterfall. Entrance is totally free, do not need to buy a tour or tickets to visit. The 64 steps are friendly to climb but if you’re looking to avoid that, you may arrive from Prison Lane>Greenwich St and just walk down. Spent about 20 minutes there, including pictures. We parked at a parking lot on Sands Rd, which supposedly costed $3 dlls but nobody was there to charge. It’s a ~7 minute walk from the port if you arrive from a cruise.
Lizbeth G — Google review
Nice place to visit when in downtown Nassau. It’s a short walk through the rocks with a waterfall and steps. Free entry. Signage about its history. Gets busy in the daytime but good to visit when the cruise ships have gone. Shame the old Fort nearby is closed but hopefully will be renovated soon
MattTravels S — Google review
Amazing views and so much history. When you get up, thier are little shops INCLUDING Cuban cigars. If your into history and want to explore the Bahamas, go here!
Jackie J — Google review
About 10-15 minute walk from the cruise port. The area features lush tropical vegetation and a cascading waterfall. The staircase leads to Fort Fincastle. It is carved from solid limestone between 1793 and 1794 and is 66 steps in height. It was intended as a secure passage to the Fort. It was named in honor of Queen Victoria.

Junkanoo Beach, also known as the Western Esplanade, is a vibrant beach in Nassau named after the annual Bahamian parade. While some locals may argue that it doesn't match the tranquility of Paradise Islands beaches, it's the most convenient for cruise visitors and offers various amenities. The Tiki Bikini Hut on the beach is popular for its party atmosphere and tempting drink specials.
Junkanoo Beach is the closest beach to the Nassau cruise port, making it a convenient option for those who don’t want to take a transfer. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the port, and while it can get busy, the atmosphere is lively and fun. The beach has bars, music, and vendors, creating a festive vibe. The sand is nice, the water is warm, and it’s a great spot if you’re looking for something quick and easy to enjoy during your stop in Nassau.
Robson C — Google review
The beach is a close walk to the port. Roughly 15-20 minutes depending on how fast you walk. The water is very clear but there is vegetation and grows in most of the parts. The sand and beach overall is very nice. You can find vendors and restaurants along the beach. There are chair rentals and water sports rentals as well. The locals will aggressively try to sell you chairs drinks umbrellas tours the moment you step out of the port and especially on the beach. Once I sat down on the sand I was approached a handful of times. Due to its convenient location and clear water I would recommend as an activity that’s free.
Ian — Google review
This is a popular free beach because it is so close to the cruise ship terminals and it is an easy walk along Bay St. It is full of vendors selling beverages and other things. The water is clear but the beach is rocky and overall dirty. Local vendors can be aggressive about selling on this beach. There are beach chair and umbrella rentals offered. Loud music is played so it's not peaceful and relaxing. Move further down and it is quieter but not cleaner.
Joseph S — Google review
The water is superb, the sandy beach is a perfect spot to spend the day. Of you keep walking more to the end of the beach it is less crowded with less people trying selling you atuff. 10 minutes walk from the cruise port.
Lior O — Google review
Very nice public beach that is a ~20 minutes walk from the cruise port. There are a few vendors renting chairs or offering drinks, but I didn't buy anything from them. If you walk to the right, you can find a quieter spot with less vendors, but unless you rent a chair, it's hard to find a spot to sit on.
Tyra B — Google review
Beautiful spot in Nassau! Spent the some time at Junkanoo Beach and it was absolutely amazing. The weather was perfect — partly cloudy with a nice breeze — and it wasn’t too crowded at all. The water was crystal clear and that beautiful shade of Bahamian blue you see in photos. Great place to relax, enjoy the views, and soak up the island vibe. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Nassau! 🌴☀️🇧🇸
Demetrius R — Google review
Beautiful little beach, clear waters, located right in the centre of Nassau. Definitely worth having a quick dip at first light when the sun has just come up, the water is already warm and the crowds have yet to arrive. You can watch the cruise ships arriving. Gets busy during the day.
Michael C — Google review
A great time Tony and Miss Judy took amazing care of us. They were honest and fair and didnt harass or pressure is with sales. We had a amazing excursion off tue ship without all the outrageous charges. The jerked chicken was amazing. And the hospitality and service was outstanding

Fort Fincastle, located on Bennet's Hill in Nassau, is a limestone fort built in 1793. It was named after British captain Lord Dunmore and designed to protect Nassau Harbour from pirates. The fort offers stunning views of Nassau, Paradise Island, and the eastern approaches to New Providence due to its location atop the highest point on the island. Although it was never used for defense as its cannons were never fired, it later served as a lighthouse.
Oh I absolutely was thrilled to death to find this historic fort built in the 1700s. Four dollars to go into the fort. It’s pretty spectacular and gives you a panoramic view of Nassau. Absolutely worth every penny. There are two other forts on the island that unfortunately I did not have time to visit, but they are on my must visit for my next time I arrive in Nassau. Make sure you wear good fitting sneakers because there’s a lot of walking and the stairs are very old. Go see the queen Staircase right next to the fort. Incredible. Google your trip before you go and make a plan so you get more bang for your buck. Do not, and I repeat, do not take the bus tour. It takes you to Atlantis, stops at a crappy beach for a couple of photo shots, takes you to places that you would have absolutely no interest in like a rum cake where you go by crap. It did take us to a rum distillery, which was pretty cool. But if you really want to explore the island either, go by foot or rent a driver and do it on your own, you’re gonna get so much more accomplished, doing it on your own. All the stores that I’ve ever visited are just a rip off
Roads P — Google review
This is a small fort with a great view. Walking from the cruise port we noticed The Queen's Stairs and after that we found Fort Fincastle. There is a $3 fee to enter the fort, which is well worth it and it helps to support the fort. Outside the fort there are lots of vendors selling drinks, food and gifts. Once inside there were four people doing drills with fake rifles. One room inside the fort had a video screen with a control panel that had four buttons for different languages that told you about the Powder Room. At the top of the fort you have a 360 degree view of the area including the cruise ship port. After visiting the fort head over to The Queen’s Stairs which is a short walk and the coolest place we visited in Nassau.
Bill L — Google review
If you've already climbed the Queen's Staircase, this spot is a must-see. Unlike the staircase, this site isn't free, there’s a small entrance fee, but the views are absolutely worth it. The fort itself isn’t very well maintained, and with a bit more care, it could definitely shine more. Still, for the panoramic views and a few bits of historical info you'll find here, it's well worth the visit.
Cirrus S — Google review
History buffs will love this landmark fort, comes complete with canons, great opportunity to see architecture from another day and age. We were very fortunate to see some young people doing military drills on the grounds, my privilege for sure. Afterward, many shopping tents right outside! Help the locals out!
Annette L — Google review
I would never visit this place unless I was already here because I was at the Queen’s staircase. It’s a place you can see everything in under five minutes. It’s very small and they charge an additional fee if you use a credit card. I felt it was not worth the money, but if you’re in the area, why not check it out
Stephen S — Google review
A neat find on Nassau, a treat to be able to explore part of the history, not just the shopping and dining. Just a couple dollars to get in, with scenic views and a hint of 1700’s military life. Worth the time away from the bustle.
Jonathan S — Google review
Right near the Queen's Staircase, there is the Fort Fincastle. Its only 3$ entrance fee and its worth it, its not a very big fort, but you get to see a birds eye view of the coast. When we visited we were lucky enough to get to view the soldier show and they also launch the cannon. Before you buy tickets, you could ask them about the soldier show.
George F — Google review
Great view on top of the Fort. We swing by the Fort since it's only a 3 minutes walk from Queen Stairs. Not a top destination, but worth wandering around if you are at Queen Stairs. 2 places combined only take 30 minutes anyway.

Nassau Straw Market is a traditional open-air market in Nassau, Bahamas, offering a wide variety of handwoven straw crafts, Bahamian souvenirs, and tourist trinkets. Following a fire in 2001, the market was temporarily relocated but continues to thrive with dozens of vendors selling handmade wares such as straw hats, baskets, wood carvings, and seashell jewelry.
The Straw Market is a must-visit spot located right along Bay Street in downtown Nassau, just steps from the Cruise port. It is a vibrant, two-story market featuring up to 500 vendors selling straw and wooden-made goods, conch carvings, shell jewelry, local art, t-shirts, magnets, and more. Straw weaving is a long-standing Bohemian tradition that dates back to early subsistence lifestyles after World War II. Although the original open-air market was destroyed by a fire in 2001 and later impacted by Hurricane Irene, it was rebuilt in 2011 as a sturdy, air-conditioned building designed to withstand winds of up to 200 mph. Here, you'll find authentic crafts handmade by local artisans, including baskets, hats, bags, dolls, mats, wooden carvings, drums, and conch shell jewelry. Other and various souvenir items are also available for sale. Bargaining is always welcome!
The M — Google review
Nassau Straw Market is one of the most iconic spots in Nassau to explore local crafts and souvenirs. The market is full of handmade items, from straw bags and hats to vibrant jewelry and decorative pieces. It’s a lively place, with vendors showcasing the essence of Bahamian culture through their work. Walking through the aisles, you really feel immersed in the local atmosphere, and it’s a great spot to pick up something authentic to remember your trip. Perfect for anyone who enjoys discovering traditional craftsmanship.
Robson C — Google review
Very busy and tight. You literally have to turn sideways to walk between vendors. You will find good souvenirs, but the vendors all sell the same things, so it gets repetitive after a while. We didn't find some unique sodas. You can haggle, which is a plus. Not for the claustrophobic. It is a place you have to visit if you're in Nassau.
Rob — Google review
I have been to the Straw Market twice when I visited Nassau by Cruise. Both times we ended up buying many souvenirs here and the vendors are open to haggling and bringing down the price. They have a great collection of magnets, wooden articles that you can inscribe your name on, clothes and bags. It is a bit overpriced compared to other places in internal Nassau but it's a good place to go to when you don't want to travel much. All vendors accept US dollars.
Neha V — Google review
The hair braiding area talked people into more & more braids leaking to $100's of dollars & sitting & waiting forever. People apparently would tie a handmade bracelet on your arm then demand cash for it 😱😱 Was told before leaving the cruise to NOT leave your party.... WELLL....
Lorna S — Google review
Decent spot to shop for items you can find online. Negotiate better prices on items you like. Better things to do in Nassau but if you want to check it out to kill some time it’s good to experience once.
Ian — Google review
Great place to get deals and souvenirs. Be sure to bargain with them cuz U can easily bring them down in price.

Lots of stuff, very friendly owners and obviously English speaking so easy to communicate. Worth the walk over and we bought some bags, bracelets and hats.

The Pirates of Nassau Museum offers an immersive experience into the city's history as a pirate haven during the 18th century. Situated in Nassau, Bahamas, this museum showcases replica pirate ships and various exhibits that bring to life the Golden Age of Piracy from 1690 to 1720. The location's shallow yet navigable waters made it an ideal base for pirates to plunder merchant ships.
Pirate museum located in the centre of Nassau. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance. Not a huge place but worth the entrance fee and definitely worth checking out. Interesting and fun inside. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Michael C — Google review
This is a nice place to visit as a tourist. It's right near the cruise port and it's family friendly. It provided a lot of good information about the subject matter and was interesting. It was not a mind-blowing experience, but it was a very pleasant way for my family to be in entertained unhurried way in a nice, cool facility for a while in the midst of a hot, crowded port day in Nassau. The price is definitely far better than what you'll find with most tourist spots in the city.
David E — Google review
The Pirates of Nassau Museum is a really cool museum and well worth the visit. It’s compact but packed with fascinating exhibits that bring the golden age of piracy to life. The displays are engaging, the history is well presented, and it’s easy to explore at your own pace. Perfect for history buffs or anyone looking for a fun, educational experience in Nassau. Highly recommend stopping by!
Rodzilla — Google review
I was excited and had a good time, but it isn't for all. Wife n youngest ran through, 11 yr old and I walked n looked at everything. They have pirate relics, scenery, ship, but they were looking to replicate some Disney allure and I was looking for raw history. Gifts could have been more pirate, with some good stuff for sale, kinda not impressed, but I had fun nonetheless. Maybe if they had a theme party area, people could plan parties from the cruise.
Martin B — Google review
Our family loved this! It was easy to get to from the port, reasonably priced, and so cool! You get to walk through a ship and see several exhibits.
Ashley ( — Google review
Loved the walk through of this place. Tickets were a good price for this mini adventure. Lots to see and read, take at least 45 minutes to go through this place. It had great history facts, culture, and the figures were put together very well! We got lucky we stumbled upon this place. Last walk through ends at 4:30 pm, not sure about any other days like the weekends. I didn’t want to post too many pics, you need to see it for yourself, you’ll be glad you did!!
Alexandra O — Google review
The Nassau Pirate Museum is a fun, immersive experience that, for a moment, transports you into the golden age of pirates! It has a similar vibe to Disney’s Pirates ride — but with the added bonus of walking the set yourself, along an old quay and even aboard then through a full-sized pirate ship. The attention to detail and creativity throughout the museum is impressive and historically informative. With friendly staff, affordable admission, and just a short walk from the cruise terminal, it’s a must-visit for families!
Pete G — Google review
This is a neat little spot. We have walked by here several times on our way from the Cruise Terminal heading to Junkanoo Beach and we finally decided to drop in. The price was reasonable and the displays were informative. Not really a museum in terms of actual historical artifacts, but still a good stop to fill a little time during a visit to Nassau.

John Watling's Distillery, located at the 1789 Buena Vista Estate in historic downtown Nassau, is a must-visit destination for rum enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The distillery offers complimentary tours where visitors can learn about the estate's rich history and its role in Nassau rum production. Guests can also sample some of the finest rums and spirits infused with Bahamian flavors during signature tastings at the Red Turtle Tavern.
Loved this place! Free tour and tour guide was awesome, super chill, informative and concise and the ambience and staff were super friendly and answered all our questions! Worth the stop since they don’t export, and it was such a historically rich place!
Amy C — Google review
I had a great experience at John Watling’s Distillery. From the moment I stepped onto the historic property, I was immersed in the history and craftsmanship behind their rum. One of the highlights was the Piña Colada sample. It was smooth, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. It set the tone for the bar experience, where every drink was made to order. The on-site store and eatery made the visit even better. I loved being able to browse and take home a bottle of their signature rum while also enjoying some local bites. Next time, I would like to take the tour to find out more about the distilling process.
Maggie L — Google review
The John Watling's Distillery is a beautiful, historic property that’s now home to a rum distillery, coffeehouse, and small eatery for visitors. Stopped here as part of a van tour and unfortunately, the “tour” was short and rushed, with a guide who seemed disinterested (hence losing a star). Still, the colonial-era setting is lovely, and Bond fans will enjoy knowing Casino Royale filmed several key scenes here. Ends at the gift shop, of course. Recommended for a stop for rum, some island history, or 007 fans.
M — Google review
Got a great tour. Our tour guide was amazing, I think her came was Celina? Can't remember but she was awesome. The drinks were good and place is very cool.
Ryan C — Google review
This is a beautiful and historic estate. There is a lot of history behind this building. The tour is free. The distillery was very interesting but there isn't a lot of information provided on the distillery process itself. They provide a sample of puna colada which was very refreshing. There is an onsite store to purchase their products as well as to purchase food and enjoy a meal. Please note that walking to this location from downtown may lead you through neighborhoods that are not safe so be careful. The run and vodka all seemed well made.
Joseph S — Google review
Great tour and perfect place to escape afternoon heat. Coffee shop is first class and pina colada is among the best

Awesome Experience! Great Rum! The tour was simple but thorough. The complimentary Pina Coladas were amazing! Best I've every had! We got the Sampler of all 4 flavors loved all of them! Such a beautiful building and great/friendly staff
Heather S — Google review
I'm gonna start off by saying I don't like Pina Colada's, but I love their's. Spend some time here visiting the distillery (tour) history of the property and the bar. Have a drink indoors or outdoors . There is a small shop that serves food on the property. Didn’t eat there, but the food looked good. Clean restrooms and an air-conditioned facility. Great place to swing by to take a break from all the walking!

The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas is housed in a charming 19th-century mansion, offering a captivating display of Bahamian art and history. Situated on Cable Beach, visitors can enjoy stunning ocean views while exploring the museum's elegant exhibits. Additionally, the gallery was funded by the National Geographic Society in partnership with the National Museum of the Bahamas. This collaboration led to the creation of the Bahamas Blue Hole Expedition, an ambitious project that involved extensive dives into numerous blue holes.
Super cool contemporary art museum. I really recommend going especially if you’re tired of cruise ship conformity
Arundhati E — Google review
It's a small gallery that used to be the home of the governor (or someone in government). There were a few exhibits when we visited. Some of the old photos were pretty cool. There were some good paintings and drawings as well. A few things, like a stack of wood, I don't consider art, but that's just MHO. We wouldn't go back though.
Michael — Google review
This was my favorite stop in Nassau. I was very impressed with the exhibition A Small Remainder of Teeth! I'm very appreciative of the artists and the messaging. Best wishes for the Bahamian people and thank you.
Rox F — Google review
A fairly good sized venue. Quite an eclectic collection. Many of the same artists were represented over and over. But there were some really good works presented. Many areas did not allow photos though.
Jen L — Google review
Only the exterior grounds were open when we visited. The art walk is nice. Be aware that it is a well maintained and marked trail but pretty rugged. Wheelchairs and stroller would not work out well. There are lovely sculptures along trails. There is also a lot of trees and local Flora and fauna to view. It does seem to be a work in progress still. If doing a walking tour this should be included.
April W — Google review
A must see when in Nassau. Very interesting art from local artists. In addition to the art indoors there is a nice outdoor section. The staff are very friendly.
Alfahad91 — Google review
The National Art Gallery is opened again. And has presented wonderfully, the art of Tampa based Bahamian artist, Kendra Frorup "The Whimsical Collector". All the gallery spaces display her wonderful work spanning a couple decades. You will enjoy this meditative and indeed whimsical collection. There is sure to be several pieces that enchant you. Highly recommend a visit. Parking on the grounds, inside the gates was available. And there's even an EV Charging Station parking spot. The entrance was free - not sure if that was for locals. Gallery staff were welcoming and pleasant. The Art Park and garden spaces were open for strolling and wandering. P.S. Based on observation, I believe EVERY Bahamian Art Gallery venue has a Junkanoo art piece at their entrances. 😀

Arawak Cay, affectionately known as "The Fish Fry" by locals in Nassau, is a vibrant seaside strip on West Bay Street. This area was constructed from sand dredged from Nassau's Harbor in 1969 and has since become home to a variety of authentic Bahamian restaurants serving traditional island cuisine and colorful drinks. Popular spots like Twin Brothers and Goldie's Enterprises are renowned for their fried "cracked conch" and famous Sky Juice cocktail.
We were expecting more of an open market type of environment, kind of like food trucks but with stationary grills instead. It's really just a row of a ton of restaurants. But it really is the best food on the island, and at better prices than the fancy hotel restaurants or the ones downtown by the ships. Try Joey's for awesome red snapper and amazing drinks, and Frankie goes Bananas (but don't get the conch fritters there, no conch in them). But DONT MISS BRUNO'S. Best food anywhere on the island. The grilled conch stew was so filled with conch you couldn't even see the bowl. The conch fritters were filled with conch. And they have an AWESOME breakfast at the best deal on the island.

Fresh seafood and Conch salad! Enjoyed the brisk mile and a half walk from the cruise ships. Twin Brothers was closed for refurbishment. Went next door and enjoyed fresh conch salad. The neighboring restaurants are Very competitive and almost cut throat. They try to stear you into their restaurant! There are many choices to choos from with fish, seafood and fritters!

the strip is always lit especially on weekends! The conch salad is top tier, a must try! Super friendly people! 🤎

This area is a small walkable street that has several restaurants to choose from. This is a party atmosphere. There were both locals and tourists here. We were with children and I do not think I would return with them. This is better for adults.

Amazing location if you like being amongst the locals. We ate at Twin Brothers. We ate fresh Conch salad, pulled from the shell and made right in front of our eyes. We ate outside in the beautiful weather with the locals just chatting it up and having a good time. It is just a short walk away from the cruise terminal but cabbies are waiting in droves for your business as well. Some of our fellow cruisers ate here too but did so inside with the actual restaurant and all they ate were wings. Why come to an iconic location to get wings??

Outstanding remarkable piece of history Arawak Cay has been. Great memories of fun days and nights out on the fry. No matter if be just to grab a bite or a salad or a drink or two lol. Just the bare essence of " being on the fry" is home warming. Nevertheless it caters to all ages and there's always "something to see when you aint looking!"

Parks
Clifton Heritage National Park, established in 2004, is a historical site preserving the legacies of various groups who impacted the area. The park offers diverse outdoor activities such as hiking through different ecosystems, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and bird watching. Located on New Providence Island's eastern tip, it boasts beaches like Jaws Beach and opportunities for snorkeling at the Sir Nicholas Nuttall Coral Reef Sculpture Garden.
We had the best time in Clifton, especially thanks to our driver Edmond! The national park is really nice and peaceful, we did some snorkeling and Edmond made sure we saw a lot of beaches nearby. There was almost now one else. He also explained a lot and answered all our questions. When snorkeling be aware that you have to swim out and the waves can make that quite exhausting

A wonderful way to support local Bahamians while learning about part of their history. Also beautiful pristine beaches, friendly and knowledgeable staff, beautiful snorkeling location. This is a low key National Park run by locals. They are very accommodating and responsive. Ms. Carla Rutherford ensures all the details are taken care of. I signed up on their website for the combination heritage tour and snorkeling with lunch and transportation provided. After tax and VAT only $120. I was picked up at 9:30 at My hotel in Atlantis. We then stopped at the cruise ship terminal and picked up a woman and her three teenage children who booked a day at the beach with lunch. Not the snorkeling and heritage tour. It took about 40 minutes to be driven to the park. We all checked in at a little welcome booth. The I was dropped at the snorkeling beach and they were taken to flipper beach. Jason was the snorkeling guide and was fantastic. There are basic changing rooms, a porta potty and simple outdoor freshwater showers. I just to go in a lifejacket as I had not snorkeled in over 10 years. They did have lots of gear including snorkeling vests. Jason had prepared a mask for me so it would not fog up. He came out in a kayak with safety equipment so he could keep an eye on the surroundings as well as the people snorkeling. He was very clear in his communication and tailored the experience to the confidence of the people snorkeling. The sculpture was beautiful and the fish fantastic. The reefs are not brightly colored but the fish were. I did not go to the sunken plane but that is also an option. You need to bring your own towel. I was then taken to Flipper beach where they have some lounge chairs and a simple structure with changing rooms and a picnic table. We were brought a tasty lunch of hot pasta with shrimp and broccoli and garlic bread and a cold bottle of water. No options were given for other choices so if you have dietary restrictions I suggest you check in advance to make sure they can be accommodated. The beach was lovely with hardly anyone there. Calm water for swimming. After lunch I was driven to the start of the Heritage tour. Tash, the tour guide was great. Very engaging and handled any of my questions easily and with grace. The tour is very interesting and really helps give context to some of the history of the country. We were then driven back so the party of four could get back on their cruise ship. I was back at Atlantis by 3 pm. A really great day

We came on a Saturday for the deluxe Beach day, they brought us lunch & saw six people the whole day. We had the beach pretty much to ourselves. It was spectacular and beautiful. We hung out at flipper Beach most of the day. We snorkeled at Jaws Beach and paid to have our car, so we could drive around. Came back the next day, because it was so wonderful and peaceful and quiet. We saw a total of 10 people. The snorkel Beach was open, so we snorkeled and had a good time.

A Big, Big Thank You to Everyone at Clifton Heritage National Park! My friend and I had an absolutely amazing time at Clifton Heritage National Park, and I want to send a huge thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our visit so special. A very special shout-out to our snorkeling guide, Rico. I accidentally left my water bottle at the park, and to my surprise, he personally delivered it back to my Airbnb later that day. I didn’t expect to see it again, but he simply said, “Don’t worry, we’ll take care of it.” That small act of kindness meant so much🥹thank you, Rico! We booked our tour directly through the website. Mr. Edmond picked us up from our Airbnb and, during the drive, introduced us to Bahamian culture, city life, food, and beautiful beaches. He brought us lunch and dropped us off again at the end of the day. He was so thoughtful and kind🥰 Ms. Vernita showed us the historical side of the park. Her storytelling was powerful and brought the past to life. She spoke with such passion that it moved us emotionally. She was friendly, engaging, and always made sure we understood the culture and history, asking if we had any questions along the way. The highlight of the day🤿snorkeling—finally happened at the end. We saw the famous underwater statues we had been looking forward to. Rico guided us from his kayak, making sure we stayed on the right path. fishes swam alongside us, making the whole experience feel like a beautiful underwater adventure. It may have been because we visited on a Monday, the park was nearly empty, and we felt like we had a VIP experience.🔥 Thank you all for making our day in The Bahamas so warm, welcoming, and unforgettable. I will definitely be coming back!

One of the best things we’ve ever done on a cruise stop! Our guide, Edmond, picked us up from the cruise port and drove us directly to the park, giving history lessons about the Bahamas and pointing out interesting sites. The drive took about 40 minutes, but filled with beautiful views. The park had a tremendous beach, Johnston Beach, where we swam in beautiful water before our guide brought us lunch. We then saw some cliffs and cool sites before our guide dropped us back off at the cruise port. A tremendous way to see much of the island and escape the crowds and tourist traps.

We did the heritage tour. Excellent way to spend some time. We were visiting via cruise ship. Bought our tickets online directly through their website which included transportation. The only hassle was that they needed us to call them, the day of tour, when we got off ship so they could send the driver to pick us up. We did not have any mobile phone service and the free port wifi kept turning off. Not sure even if wifi worked could made contact as do not think they had a whatsapp number. The meeting place is right outside the port entrance next to water fountain which was easy to find. Luckily a nice local man at the gate let us use his phone. Via phone we were giving description of the minivan and name of driver who was picking us up. It was somewhat stressful having to make the phone call to get these details. There is no parking near the fountain but emailing the name of driver and description of van day before would have been very helpful. Edmund was our driver to and from Clifton. EDMUND WAS EXCELLENT. Very friendly and gave much local info on our drive to and from. Vernita was our tour guide at the park. Vernita was also excellent and shared her great knowledge of the park which is a former plantation. We toured some of the housing from those former enslaved on the plantation. After the approx 1 hour walking tour we were taken to the beach and given a excellent chicken, rice and mac cheese lunch. Spent about 1 hour on the beach then back to port. Entire length of the excursion was about 4 to 4 1/2 hours. This visit is highly recommended. In our group was my wife and I and another couple which Edmund picked up at a hotel. The beach is beautiful and only a couple other people there.
Phil J — Google review
The experience was great, from beginning to end. Once we debarked our ship we were greeted by a guide, at our rendezvous. We were chauffeured to the park by Edmond, who was VERY enthusiastic and entertaining. And kept us informed for the entire drive, of the development and fun facts of the island. Once at the park, I and my guest were taken to the beach, where I snorkeled, for the first time. It was a challenge but the statues and fish were beautiful to see under water. Although I was provided an underwater camera, unfortunately I didn’t receive all of the videos and photos that were taken. So I got no personal memory of the statues. Vante canoed, while I held on to the back. Once finished with the snorkeling, we were brought to a relaxing private beach, where we got to lay in the sun and was served a delicious lunch. Afterwards, we went on our heritage tour, hosted by Miss Vernita, who was super kind and knowledgeable. I like that the park is kept in its most natural state but I wish the grounds were more upkept and there were more informative, professional signage. It was a privilege to grace the grounds that the enslaved and natives took part in not only building, but permanently stapling, one of the most important parts of Nassau.

My first visit to Clifton Heritage National Park was truly eye-opening. Standing where my Bahamian ancestors once lived and labored filled me with pride, humility, and deep reflection. Hearing the stories of their resilience and sacrifice brought our history to life in a powerful way. I left feeling more grateful and more informed about the strength and legacy of our Bahamian forefather Awesome tour guide Ms.Pratt

Cable Beach, located on the northern shore of New Providence in the Bahamas, is a picturesque destination with wide sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters. It's just a short taxi ride from Nassau airport, making it easily accessible for travelers. The beach offers powder-fine white sand and see-through blue-green water, providing plenty of space for visitors to relax. While relatively crowd-free now, a new resort is set to open nearby soon.
We had a great time, You will have the opportunity to buy food and drink with the same quality, at a better price later, do not buy the first drink or food package when you arrive .

Great beach! Small, calm, quiet, not full of crowds. They rent chairs for the day. Downsides: no restrooms, and no place in the beach to eat (it has very good restaurants in a walking distance).

Cable Beach in Nassau was absolutely beautiful! It was relatively empty, which made it even more relaxing. I would definitely recommend it — truly a dream!

It’s not a bad beach but the atmosphere is not the greatest. If you are negotiating jet ski rides or beach chairs, be very careful with the guys doing it. They aren’t to be trusted.

Great public beach with beautiful ocean views! The water feels just as good as it looks cool and relaxing the waves we’re pretty calm when we visited in early February. The water temp was a lil cooler but pretty easy to adjust to once you dive in. If you want good drinks go see Shantell she has a set up with drinks in freshly cut pineapples and you get to add as much or little alcohol as you’d like to them. You can get one fruit cup with 2 refills for $30 my favorite was the pina colada.
Asia E — Google review
Took a cab to the beach from the port, great, clean beach from the cruise. However, the staff that rents out the chairs, tables and makes drinks will bamboozle you (blue covered canopy). Alex was great, attentive, helpful. Woman who seemed to be the boss wasn't very nice, didn't give change back ( tipped herself 10$) and was frequently yelling at others. Go, but be leary and ready to speak up for yourself.

We tried to go to this beach but realized that the majority of it is owned by private hotels and all inclusive a. There is one small area open to the left of Sandals but otherwise you cannot access or there is a lot of construction. I would recommend Love Beach, Goodman Park or Jaws Beach instead.
Nicole B — Google review
The water was lovely. The beach area is ample. As you enter the water there are a few drops so it gets deep quickly. The waves were very serene so you could dive into them with no risk of being tumbled. Sandals is right there so they have a small area of the water roped off. It does not in any way affect others. I still enjoyed the beach.

Cabbage Beach, located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, is a popular destination known for its resort-adjacent white-sand stretch. The beach offers opportunities for walking, swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. It stretches for 3 miles along the north side of the island and extends beyond Atlantis' property. Visitors can enjoy various water sports such as parasailing, snorkeling, and personal watercraft rentals provided by private concessionaires.
Absolutely gorgeous beach, with soft white sand and clear, bright blue water. We walked all the way to the far east end, which has a wide area with plenty of space and great views.

This beach was amazing the water was super clear and light blue. The parking was a bit weird at first as you have to drive up a tiny rocky ramp to get in but it’s worth it. The waves were also a lot of fun to jump into.

Absolutely beautiful beach. Crystal clear warm water and soft sand. The downside is that as soon as you step foot onto the beach you get bombarded by groups of guys trying to get you to rent the beach chairs and umbrella. One guy got mad at me when I said we were only staying for a few minutes. Another guy tried to intimidate us by placing a family right next to our stuff.

Fantastic beach. There are 2 public beach access. We used the one close to RIU hotel and walked a bit further east and had the entire beach to ourselves (sep 2025). Crystal clear turquoise water and white coral sand. You will be asked to rent sunchairs and umbrellas on arrival, but it's really expensive ($30) so if you really want it you can ask politely for a better price. We walked there from our hotel (Warwick) and it was a 15 min walk.

Absolutely beautiful beach — a hidden gem! Cabbage Beach is stunning — soft white sand, crystal clear turquoise water. It wasn’t too crowded when we went, and the views were just incredible. We didn’t even plan to swim — we just took a walk to check out the beach because it’s near our Cruise. But once we saw how gorgeous and inviting the water was, we couldn’t resist! We ended up jumping in even though we didn’t bring swimsuits. Honestly, it would’ve been a huge regret to leave without feeling the water here — it’s that beautiful. This is, in my opinion, the clearest and most beautiful beach in the world. I still can’t believe how insanely clear the water was — it looked just like regular drinking water, only salty! Unreal. There are some local vendors offering drinks and jet ski rentals — some are a bit persistent, but mostly friendly. Just a heads-up: bring your own towels, snacks, and shade if you plan to stay for a while, as amenities are limited. We are coming back this June — that’s how much I loved it. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Nassau — this beach is truly unforgettable!
T N — Google review
I am staying at a near by hotel on the port side and they have a shuttle to this beach. There are many vendors and independent taxi owners trying to get you to pay for their services. I said no thank you to all and made it to the beach for free. On the left there is a few hotels and the Atlantis hotel so I walked right and found a gorgeous stretch of beach with NO CROWDS. I put my towel down and stayed in the water for hours. Clean and quickly deep, eyes open for marine life. Spectacular. No washrooms. No restaurants. Short visit but worth every second.

Ardastra Gardens & Wildlife Conservation Centre is a unique destination in the Bahamas, serving as both a zoo and a wildlife conservation center. Originally established to protect the endangered flamingo population, it now houses over 130 species of wildlife, including pink flamingoes, wildcats, native rodents, and various tropical birds. Visitors can enjoy hand-feeding lories and witnessing the famous daily flamingo parade where these elegant birds march in unison on command.
This was great. How could anyone not love it? It's perfect for a day when you're all beached out. There's a ton of shade, you walk through at your own leisure, and there's so much to see. Time your visit so you're there for the flamingo show at 11 am and the Turtle Activities at 11:30 am. It is such a value for the $35 admission.

I went to the Bahamas in January of this year and am now trying to get caught up posting my pictures of various places with reviews. I would recommend anyone visiting Nassau to checkout this well-kept conservatory as a point of interest. I found it to be a very charming, tranquil garden, that is filled with lush greenery, vibrant flowers, exotic birds and other animals that I did not post pictures of. 😀 You have to go see for yourself!

Cannot rave about this place enough. They made my daughter experience so magical, she had the time of her life meeting all the animals, our guide was so knowledgeable and knew every animals name and even had a bond with them that you could tell came from great care. She went above and beyond to make my daughters experience unforgettable. My heart goes out to them, I know how difficult it is to get enough funding as a rescue and add to it their gift shop was damaged from the hurricane, yet they still all greeted us and gave us an amazing Halloween experience!

We visited this place while on a Caribbean cruise. It was really great and the kids loved it however, one important warning for anyone that goes here. Pay with CASH only! We paid using our Visa card and we believe this is the place where our card was compromised. It caused a lot of headaches for us when we got home and had to reverse the fraudulent transactions. So by all means go visit this place, it’s wonderful, but pay your entrance fee and anything else with cash.
Amir N — Google review
Disappointing and Concerning Visit I left Ardastra Gardens feeling deeply troubled. Many of the animals did not appear well cared for. I just keep thinking about this poor parrot sitting in its own feces, with broken perches lying inside the enclosure. In that same habitat, the bird was screaming nonstop, and I noticed loose screws that could easily injure him. It was heartbreaking. Right next to him, another parrot was nearly attacking visitors and clearly seemed distressed by the presence of the Disney Cruise Line group. It really makes you wonder how Disney can support a facility where animals are left in their own excrement and exposed to such poor conditions. No one was there to speak with us or offer any information. It seems like the staff only focus on large tour groups, which must be their priority, but if you come on your own, you’re left completely on your own and very poorly welcomed. Also, the waiver at the entrance makes no sense. They ask you to fill it out, but no one checks the names or verifies anything anyway. Even the flamingo show, which could have been charming, felt chaotic. If you pay close attention, the zookeeper seemed unsure of what he was doing. He was chasing the birds around rather than guiding them calmly. This is not a conservation center. It does not reflect genuine care or respect for the animals. I cannot recommend supporting this place. Very disappointing.

Government House is the official residence of The Bahamas governor-general, representing England's monarch since 1801. This stately pink-and-white neoclassical building on Duke Street showcases a blend of Bahamian-British and American colonial architecture. With its graceful columns, circular drive, conch-shell-pink color, white quoins, and louvered wooden shutters, it reflects typical Bahamian style while also featuring elements reminiscent of Virginia or the Carolinas.

I must be missing something cause what i saw was just another abandoned building in serious need of a paint job. The whole area around the Government House was run down with grounds unkept, public utilities jury rigged to work (light poles, electrical boxes) ripped open, exposed wires. Streets filled with potholes and most"stores" if not selling either t-shirts or jewelery were abandoned. Obama must be the mayor, makes sense all of a sudden.

Christ Church Anglican Cathedral, located in Downtown Nassau, is a stunning Gothic stone church dating back to 1841. It is the state church of The Bahamas and holds the distinction of being one of the oldest congregations in the country, with roots tracing back to the 1670s. The cathedral's locally-quarried limestone construction, complemented by mahogany ceilings and granite-tile floors, showcases remarkable colonial architecture.
This is an amazing and beautiful church. The architecture is astounding as it was added on to 4 complete times since it was established in 1670 over 300 years ago. The ornate woodwork and exquisite stained glass windows are something to behold and don't get me started on the pews as you just don't see this kind of love and craftsmanship put into anything anymore. Whether you believe in God or not (I for sure do) you should just go see the love and work put into this amazing church. The pastor lady was super gracious and kind taking time from her day to talk to me and have a tiny bit of fellowship while giving me some of the low down on the history of such a beautiful place. Pictures are worth a thousand words so I've included a few. Just astounding what humankind can do with their mind, heart, and hands. I consider myself truly blessed to have seen this place and imagine how many souls have been saved as they still hold services and have since 1670 just so beautiful to ponder.

What a beautiful cathedral. The Christ Church Anglacan Chathedral is beautiful. The stained glass on each of the windows is astonishing. For being an older church, this looks like it's been loved. There is a restoration project under way, but it does not detract from the beauty of this place. The ceiling and organ were exquisite as well. Well worth a look if you are in the area.

We just walked right in and started looking around at all the decorations and figures. Plaques inside give you some history.

The Nassau Public Library, originally constructed as a jail in the late 18th century, has a rich history and unique architecture. The building's design included individual cells with windows for ventilation. Since its conversion to a library in 1873, the former prison cells now house an extensive collection of books, colonial documents, artifacts, and historic prints.
Looks like a cool spot but unfortunately closed to the public for some construction. Check out the other library near a school in town if you want a local public library.

Parliament Square in Nassau is a picturesque location featuring pink-and-white neoclassical mansions, including the Senate & House of Assembly. The square is surrounded by major historical landmarks such as Fort Fincastle and the Queens Staircase, as well as being within walking distance of the cruise terminal and Bay Street. This central government area dates back to the 1700s and 1800s, with its charming colonial-style buildings making it a great spot for photography.
We were surprised how the buildings of Parliament Square resemble colonial buildings in the United States. We learned these were originally built by Loyalist from North Carolina. There are three main buildings all painted Bahamian Pink. We really liked the history and the lively colors.
Louis E — Google review
Our visit to the Parliament Square was filled with great surprises. The square was laid out in the late 1700s to early 1800s by loyalist refugees from North Carolina following the American Revolutionary War. The buildings reflect both British colonial and American Federal styles, reminiscent of structures in New Bern, North Carolina. We had the opportunity to interact with some government officials who invited us inside the lobby and explained the history and political views of the area. Entry is free, and the square is open to the public. You can also enter the building to visit the Assembly Gallery if it is in session. The best time to visit is on weekdays during the session months of January, April, July, and October, when you can see the Parliament in action. Don’t forget to go to the back of the building, where you can explore the garden and other important buildings, such as the library and the Supreme Court.

The square was a historic mansion of former British Government Colonial Administrative location in the town center right across from the cruise terminal. The building is painted as a nationalistic color to represent the true color of Bahamas.

Clean, painted, lightly photographic. Desperately needs tables & chairs, and some bronze or stainless steel art, and a non-alcoholic drinks concession, and some very high shade sails between the buildings.

Great place if you're a capitol building nerd such as myself. Safe lush grounds and cool, colorful buildings make it a must-see for the government building buff in all of us. Pros: Pink buildings In the thick of everything, easy to get to Cons: Some construction equipment visible in photos

Great choice, super friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean, beds are super soft and comfortable. The option to pay 7 dollars more to eat at the restaurant was a steal! I can't wait to come back!

Bahamian are "Proud to be Bahamian!" The Bahamas recently celebrated its 50th independence and decorated Parliament Square and it was beautiful. I took these photos in the day but at night it's lighted and just as gorgeous if not more.

Nestled within the historic Graycliff Hotels property in downtown Nassau, Graycliff Chocolatier stands as the Bahamas' pioneering interactive chocolate factory. Visitors can partake in various chocolate-making tours and workshops while perusing a diverse array of handcrafted chocolates. The renowned chocolatier offers engaging experiences for all ages, including tasting tours that showcase the entire chocolate production process from bean to bar.
Yum, definitely delicious chocolates. Pricey but well worth it. On a cruise, out walking the city, so just purchased enough for all of us to sample. Too hot to purchase anymore as on a long walk.
Matthew C — Google review
I had a tour of this place and it cost $60.The tour was very short, but it included an interactive part, so we were able to make our own chocolate. The chocolates are very expensive and there are a lot of options. They are good gifts for family and they put ribbon on the cute boxes the chocolates come in. They also give small samples of chocolate chips. Outside of the shop, there is a bunch of seating and tables for people to sit at.
Mackenzie D — Google review
Stopped through here as one of our RC cruise excursion stops. They gave our chocolate samples and we ended up purchasing a bag of butter pecan rum coffee. We've gone through the entire bag, so rich and delicious. Love the flavor of this coffee. Was hoping to get a slice of pizza but they didn't have much ready and available. Place was busy but nice to stop through. They have some gifts for purchase in the store as well
Chasity N — Google review
We did a small tour without making chocolate. We received 3 spoonful chocolate, 2 pcs of chocolate and history of chocolate and get to see their chocolate making area. Small but we are satisfy. We get to meet and dance with the band out front. What a great experience.
Varee R — Google review
I believe this area is best visited in the evening. It features restaurants, wineries, and a fantastic Cigar store. The Gray Cliff Chocolatier, which offers some of the best chocolates around is the main attraction. Maria particularly enjoyed the variety of chocolates available there, as well as their exquisite craftsmanship. The flavors are unique—some are infused with rum, cherries, pineapples, and other ingredients that are not typically found in the U.S. If you are visiting during a busy time, be prepared to compete with other visitors. However, if you prefer a leisurely experience, we recommend waiting until the crowds disperse, as this location is not particularly large. It can accommodate around 20 to 25 people at a time inside the chocolaterie. In addition to chocolates, there are other amenities to enjoy, such as a pizzeria that sells a variety of sauces, including spicy options, and jewelry. You can also find local rum from a nearby distillery, making it a perfect stop for cruise passengers who only have time for one visit. If you are staying in the area, though, you’ll have more opportunities to explore at your own pace.
The M — Google review
Chocolatier factory was near to see. They have several items to choose from as soon as you walk in from Jams, Preserves, Jelly’s, Lotions, you name it, they had all flavors and seats to purchase. You can choose to get you a “Chocoltini” (non alcoholic version) but it looked amazing. Once you complete that or other items you may choose. You can speak with the cashier and have a tour of how the chocolate is made or you can pay $60 for a chocolate making class to which you will get to taste the chocolate and make your own chocolate bar to take home.
Melissa C — Google review
Took a tour here with the family.. the chocolate is great but they have Bahamas cigars! It's also it's next the liquor shop so you can get some crazy types of moon shine..

We walked in ourselves not with a tour Honestly nothing much to do except buying chocolate We joined the tour to experience the making of chocolate inside the factory It was just us and nothing too special I would skip this if I go again They buy chocolates from overseas and make white milk and dark chocolate So nothing else to learn it is quite small

Aquaventure is a popular 141-acre aquatic center located at Atlantis Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas. It offers high-speed waterslides, a lazy river, and numerous swimming pools. Visitors can purchase an Atlantis Aquaventure package for all-day access to the pools, beaches, and the expansive water park.
We stayed at the property and were able to walk into the water park both days. There were lines for a few things but rest was easy to get to. One issue we had was, for the large expanse of the water park the hot tub space was extremely small.
Kruthi P — Google review
The water slides are so much fun! It's the first exciting river I've been on! It's like a lazy river but exciting with rapids and twists and turns. Not only were there pools and rides but beaches and nice walks. 10 out 10 I would come back and have just as much fun again.
Robert C — Google review
Our cruise line stopped at the Bahamas and one of the options to enjoy in Nassau was the day trip to Atlantis. What a treat! My wife and I had our honeymoon in the Bahamas and we're only able to stop by and view Atlantis from afar but never able to enjoy the well run water park called the Aqua venture. What an awesome water park!! I highly recommend spending a day at Atlantis Aqua venture and enjoying the thrilling rides, the absolutely awesome lazy river, as well as enjoying the pools. For lunch we enjoyed burgers at the Shake Shack and loved our meal. Seats are plentiful and it does get warm to a little hot after 12 so I recommend bringing water proof sandals or aqua shoes as the ground does get hot. One of the best water parks in the world at Atlantis Aqua venture and I can easily award 5 stars for this outstanding water park.
Brian H — Google review
Really fun experience but not worth the over $300 day pass for 2 non-hotel guests. Did not get any pictures of the pool, slides, or kids-splash pad, but all were maintained well and clean. Also an amazing area to walk around and see the beauty of the resort as well.
Justin — Google review
Don’t come Things are closed for 3 days not sure why we spent nights staying in this property but they closed their major attractions for 3 consecutive days. It is understandable attraction closed during tropical storm but 2 days after Leap of faith and other bucket list items are closed without notifying guests are absurd and irresponsible
Wanson L — Google review
What an exhilarating experience! The water slides are incredibly fun—imagine a lazy river transformed with exciting rapids, twists, and turns. It's the first thrilling river ride I've ever been on, and it completely redefined my idea of a water adventure. Beyond the slides, the park impresses with a fantastic mix of pools, rides, beaches, and scenic walking paths. I’d give it a solid 10/10 and would definitely come back for more fun. A little tip: it can get pretty crowded when the cruise ships are in port. For shorter wait times on most rides, try visiting either after 3 PM or before 10 AM. My favorite attractions were the Drop and the Challenger—true highlights of the day. Plus, don’t miss the other pools and aquariums; there’s plenty to explore and enjoy. A must-visit spot for anyone looking to blend thrilling rides with beautiful scenery!
Clayton C — Google review
My husband was so excited to see Atlantis. He was so upset and angry after we visited. We went on our honeymoon because we love water parks and aquariums. Literally the worst we have ever been to. The aquarium was a pain in the butt to find and it was so small. The waterpark was mainly pools and mainly kid focused. It looked more fun online. We paid $20 for a locker which we accidentally closed before putting our things in. Once you close the locker, you can only open it one more time and that is to get your things out. So we lost $20 to a locker we never got to use. It was over $400 for a day pass. We feel so disappointed and scammed out of our money. Not to mention, it was $50 for one alcoholic beverage and one meal. We will never come back.
Paisha S — Google review
It is a fun pool focused Waterpark. In early June, the water is a bit cooler than ideal. There are limited quick service restaurants, which don't take cash. This wouldn't be a huge issue, except their credit card system isn't that reliable. That said, you can use cash at the pool side snack hut. There was almost a small riot among people waiting for a double innertube for the lazy river. It is a lovely, well-kept facility, with a few minor issues that are easy enough to deal with.

Fort Charlotte, the largest and most captivating of the Bahamas' forts, was constructed in the late 18th century during British colonial rule. Named after Queen Charlotte, it stands as a testament to the island's strategic significance and military prowess. The fortress features a drawbridge, waterless moat, underground passages, dungeons, and ramparts. It is part of a sprawling military complex that includes Fort Stanley and Fort DArcy.
If you would like to know apart of our history in the Bahamas, you should visit. I am born and raised here and didn't know that Fort Charlotte is 3 forts in one. The history is amazing, go and check out the hand written carvings in the walls. I was amazed with the calligraphy they had back then. Truly some place to check out
Anita C — Google review
This fort is located further away from the busy downtown and business area with the cruise terminal. It is accessible by walking down Bay St and then past Junkanoo beach and turning left on Marcus Bethel Rd. However, this area can be unsafe so be careful. When we arrived, we didn't understand the nature of the fort. We paid $5.50 per person and then a tour guide showed us the small outpost and the three other large forts further up the hill. The tour guide was extremely personable and had a lot of knowledge. He made sure we saw all the major sites and historic displays. The fort itself is poorly kept. The displays and signage could be improved greatly. I like history so this was in my wheelhouse but the kids were bored by seeing a lot of stone walls. There is a straw market type area right nearby and the tour guide did talk it up quite a bit. However we were never pressured to go in. There were hardly any visitors while we were there. The view from up there was impressive.
Joseph S — Google review
This is a small fort compared to others you can see in the Caribbean. It was relatively cheap to get in, $16 total for two adults and one child. We basically saw everything in about 35-40 minutes. The biggest disappointment for me was the lack of period items. Cannons are new/restored, only original thing I remember is a well. Not much to see with that. Views from the fort are pretty. Worth the visit if you like history, but definitely not a mandatory stop.
Joey H — Google review
Nice historical site to visit. You don't have to buy tickets. It's a free tour. You just walk in and walk around or somebody will tell you to give them a few bucks and they'll give you a tour. If you got time on your tour, go check it out!

This is a great fort! A free guided tour is included and the history of this 200 year old fort is quite interesting! I highly recommend it 👌 👍
Craig M — Google review
Fort Charlotte has a rich history tied to the island's strategic military importance during the colonial period. Built by the British in the late 1700s, specifically around 1787, after the American Revolution, it was designed to protect the Bahamas from potential invasions or attacks. This fort was part of a broader military strategy to defend British interests in the Caribbean. The fort was named after King George III, who reigned during its construction. It is located on a hilltop that offers a commanding view of Nassau's harbor, allowing for both observation and protection of the capital. Unlike other forts in the region, Fort Charlotte was never fully completed and did not see significant military action, although it did play a role in the island's defense system. The fort features bastions, gun placements, and small barracks, which were typical elements of British colonial fortifications. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction, but it receives fewer visitors than other forts in Nassau, such as Fort Fincastle, which is more frequently visited by tourists. Fort Charlotte offers a great view of Nassau Harbor, cruise ships, the straw market, and Fish Fry Street. Additionally, it is located near a mini-straw market, which is an alternative for those looking to avoid the busy main straw market by the port. We didn't take many pictures here as my phone battery died and it was charging. Yet I'm Sure you will take your own.

Fort Charlotte is a fascinating historic site and one of Nassau’s must-visit landmarks. The fort is well-preserved, with thick walls, cannons, and underground passages that give a real sense of its history. Climbing to the top offers breathtaking panoramic views of Nassau, the harbor, and the surrounding coastline. The site is spacious and peaceful, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace while learning about Bahamian colonial history. Walking around Fort Charlotte feels like stepping back in time, making it both educational and visually impressive.

Pompey Square is a vibrant and culturally rich destination in Nassau that serves as a lively social hub for both locals and visitors. This square, named after the courageous rebel slave who instigated a revolt in 1830, offers an engaging atmosphere filled with art shows, festivals, and playful activities for children. At its heart lies an interactive water feature that invites relaxation amidst the surrounding restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and the poignant Pompey Museum of Slavery and Emancipation.
This area was very beautiful, and it was set up with sales stalls offering a lot of souvenirs. Very picturesque environment.

I stood here wondering if people knew the history of this square. Its significance to time and place. That bodies were once sold where people clamored and walked about going to purchase food and wares. Then I noticed the windows, that even when some forget, time and place will still hold important stories and history. Thank you for not erasing the sacredness of this ground completely. It matters.

Nestled in the southwest portion of New Providence, Primeval Forest National Park spans 7.5 acres and showcases an undisturbed, old-growth hardwood forest. This national park, established in 2002, offers a well-maintained path that leads visitors through a diverse range of plant and animal life. The park is home to the oldest mahogany tree on New Providence and features stunning ancient caves and dramatic sinkholes reminiscent of Mexico's cenotes.
This is a tiny National park, all 7 acres of it. I had a very interesting tour from Anwar who was very knowledgeable about the sink holes and the plants, animals and insects residing there. It is a very small sanctuary for them. I personally found it fascinating and thoroughly enjoyed my walk. I just felt sad that the park wasn't 100 times bigger!

Small but very interesting park. I enjoyed walking through and reading the information signs. Be very careful of the spiders! If you're tall, you can hit some webs with your head. Nothing to panic about but, again, be careful. Do take your time and look above and below. There are tiny details and cool sights hiding.
Rox F — Google review
This is a pretty cool place! We arrived around 3pm, and they closed at 4pm. The staff were friendly and accommodating. After we paid for admission we started our adventure through the Primeval Forest. Apparently this is a piece of the natural island as it was before the development of modern society. It took us and 25-30 minutes to walk through and check out the area. The trail was well marked and any structures like stairs, bridges, and ramps were well constructed and in good shape. There were a lot of holes of various depths, with trees and roots growing all over. It was something cool to do and I recommend stopping by if you have some time. I would recommend not coming unless you're at least an hour before closing.

This was a fantastic discovery. We had no expectations as we did not know about it and actually drove past. We decided to stop, what a magical place a truly hidden gem. This is well worth the visit. Highly recommended and leave some extra time if taking the children because they will definitely want to explore on the well marked pathways. The guide at the entrance was friendly, welcoming and highly knowledgeable about the history and plants. Maybe in future it will definitely be nice to have a area where you can have some refreshments near the entrance.

Ok hike, short . Watch out for spider web everywhere. Very cool limestone sinkhole.
Richard S — Google review
Visit this magical place! The original original Bahamas. It’s so soothing to be surrounded by a dense thicket of trees, seeing the canopy sway above and the fascinating (and safe!) sink holes below. Too much of the island (well, of most places) has been harvested for timber leaving little original forest. Visiting is a wonderful way to get the joy of the forest while helping fund its preservation. For less than the price of a cocktail? Worth it!
Kate J — Google review
I must admit that I didn't know what to expect from the park but is was a very pleasant surprise and experience. Christophe was an amazing tour guide and there was so much to learn and see. Native mahogany, giant fig trees, over 100 thousand-year old sink holes. It is definitely worth the $10 to be in the midst of nature.
Nahaja B — Google review
Im so happy I made it here! Theres nothing near by, so you will need to drive or get a taxi. The jitney doesn’t go this far. I rented a scooter so I could be on my own schedule. You will not be able to flag a taxi- so have one wait or come back for you. The trail is not too long but very well marked. Lots of photo ops. Its wet and there are mosquitoes! Wear proper shoes. You will get to go down steps in to one of the big banana holes. There lots of signs along the path explaining how it the forest formed and the ecosystem with in it. If you hustle its 30 mins - but if you linger, read everything, take photos- 1-1.5 hours.

Nestled on the eastern coastline of Nassau, Fort Montagu is a historic limestone fortification that dates back to 1741. This charming site offers breathtaking views of Nassau Harbour and is conveniently located just a mile from the city center. Originally built to protect British interests from Spanish threats, Fort Montagu holds a significant place in history as it was the backdrop for the United States Marine Corps' first military action in 1776.

The fort is tiny and cute from the outside. I did not see a value of buying tickets to go inside. The surroundings are pretty, the fort is right on the beach. When I was there, the beaches were full of seaweed, so did not look terribly inviting for swimming. I enjoyed watching small boats passing by. There are no good food places very close, some nice embassy buildings. there is a mall with Starbucks within walking distance. The streets around are quite littered though.
Valeriya G — Google review
Fort Montague is a fascinating historical site located on the eastern edge of the island, near the entrance to Nassau Harbor. It is quieter compared to other forts, such as Fort Fincastle, but it offers a unique glimpse into the island’s past. Built in 1741, Fort Montague is the oldest surviving fortification in the Bahamas. The British constructed it to protect the island from potential Spanish attacks, especially given Nassau's strategic location as a port. Named after the British noble Lord Montague, it was part of a network of forts designed to guard the harbor and ensure safety from naval threats. Fort Montague also played a key role in Nassau’s defense during the American Revolutionary War and the War of 1812. The fort features small barracks, cannon placements, and ammunition storage. Fort Montague is the smallest fort compared to others on the island and is the closest one to the beach. Although there is no entrance fee, we were charged two dollars per person… I believe the best time to visit is in the morning, as you will encounter fewer cruise tourists across the street from the fort. There is a place to eat and drink nearby, and a restroom building is available free of charge not too far from the area exit road.
The M — Google review

Fort Montague is a small but interesting historic site right by the water. It doesn’t take long to explore, but the views of the harbor are beautiful and peaceful. You can really feel the history of the island here. A nice stop if you enjoy quiet spots with a bit of local heritage.

I am giving a rating of 3 because I do not have consistently excellent service. There are times when I have a fantastic experience and massage and others where I wished I spent my time doing something else 🙃 Unfortunately, parking is an issue - limited is an understatement, the hospitable security is there to try when he can to help you fit somewhere when possible, but the overall historic colonial styled building remains lovely. I've had instances where I waited nearly 15 minutes past my time because somehow, a room wasn't available. The rooms are close and walls are thin-- remember, historic building so there's only so much that can be done to "upgrade them" -- so, during my latest service, for thr first 20 minutes of my massage, I had to hear the shouting of the client next door on the phone - despite it being a no-phone zone. I've had some of the nicest and dependable professionals provide service and I've had others who perhaps needed a break and it definitely showed. I will say, there's a gentleman who is downstairs at times who I think to be an owner and he always greets patrons and seemingly problem solves matters when the lovely reception team appear overwhelmed. Despite my feelings, those who live in the east in particular I do believe this is a viable option for full spa services-- your experience may be better, so form your own opinion 😉.

I’m here from the States for a month. Baha Retreat came highly recommended and they did NOT disappoint! Simone did my nails (full set) and they are beautiful! The salon was very very clean, very comfortable, and everyone was super nice. I can’t wait to go back!

Wow what an amazing experience! Simone was absolutely great I can't wait to come back just to have her do my nails! Cindy was sooo gentle with my sugar waxing I honestly did not feel a thing. I finally do not have to rush to get things done before I come to the bahamas. I will be visiting here again to see my ladies soon! Thank you! ❣️

Marine Habitat at Atlantis, located in Paradise Island within the Atlantis Resorts complex, is a stunning sea creature showcase featuring over 250 species, including sharks and stingrays. This expansive aquarium is one of the largest in the world, housing more than 50,000 marine creatures in various sections such as lagoons and caves. Visitors can enjoy thrilling experiences at the 141-acre water park, relax on five miles of pristine beaches, and explore diverse marine habitats with an array of aquatic animals.
Great view of the various marine life with so many different species. The view is centred around the old structures that were built by their ancestors giving a glimpse of how it was way back. There’s also a restaurant that can give you a view of the aquarium.

Beautiful display of marine life in this large aquarium. It’s neat to see the habitats up close. The access is included with your stay on Atlantis ( via hotel fees). It is easy to find once you know it’s inside the hotel. Nice gift shop that supports marine life maintenance.

One of the coolest things I’ve experienced. Came here after having breakfast at a local buffet. Was not expecting to come across this so it was a very pleasant surprise. Felt like I was at a theme park. Cool fish to look at 🐟 🐠
Miguel R — Google review
We went after hours so admission was free. It was neat, but it definitely would have been better to see during the day as there were outside parts as well.
Kristen C — Google review
The marine habitat is nothing bit referred as 'The Dig'.When i asked for directions i ended up saying Marine habitat which nobody recognised. So if you are asking directions, please just call it the dig and if you are trying to figure it out within the resort, there are directions mentioned and should be easy to find.
Soumya T — Google review
Loved walking through the habitat everyday. Especially seeing the sawfish and the sea turtles! It’s such a fun activity for your kids to see all the different fish and aquatic life. Both for older kids and young ones.

Very impressive large marine habitat with a very diverse range of marine life. Being a SCUBA diver, I am picky about aquariums. This is one of the best I have seen. You can spend an hour going around viewing the different habitats and animals.

If you're an aquarium enthusiast then like me, you would be curious about this place. While in the Bahamas, I stopped While in the Bahamas, I stop by Atlantis not so much for the waterpark more so for the aquarium, by Atlantis not so much for the waterpark more so for the aquarium. If you’re staying at Atlantis, that’s all fine and dandy Marine habitat is definitely not worth spending 250 per adult or 125 per child just to see the aquarium you can see the entire thing in less than 20 minutes, while it is beautiful, it’s quite small not much exhibit to look at. I recommend if you’re staying at the hotel but if you’re planning on just going there for the aquarium, don’t waste your time or money.

Graycliff Cigar Company in Nassau offers a wide variety of hand-rolled cigars made from Central and South American leaves. The company has expanded to include a cigar factory, where visitors can take tours, purchase cigars, or even participate in cigar-rolling lessons. The factory employs over a dozen Cuban rollers who live on-site through a special arrangement with the Cuban government.
Very nice cigar spot in the Bahamas. It was about a 13-minute walk from Port, which wasn't too bad. Don't be alarmed because it is located down an alleyway, off in the cut. The staff was very nice, knowledgeable, and friendly. We walked in, and we had a great time watching the staff roll up the cigars. They were reasonably priced from $11 up to $25 if my memory serves me correct. I'd highly recommend this spot.
Angela H — Google review
The location is a bit hard to find for a first timer to locate. Customer service could be a bit better. The location itself is great for relaxing and smoking your cigar . But prices on certain items could be a bit lower.

Wonderful tour of this long established cigar factory…A must visit if you are in Nassau
Pamela H — Google review
Not what I expected. To sum it up in one word....SAD. No one was around to help get any cigars. Only 2 cigar makers were making any cigars. The whole place is very unkempt. It looks abandoned. I ended up smoking my cigar in the smoking area. Luckily we were dropped off by the taxi driver that was meant to take us back to the hotel for free. Otherwise if be upset to pay to come here and see if in the conditions it's in. The place can be a gold mine if it were fixed up and actually have more staff to greet you. We were greeted by the passengers from the cruise ship, and not the staff. All in all, Gray Cliff cigars aren't the best and I'll be sticking with the real cigars I know and love. The other areas such as the liquor tasting had a young girl serving liquor but then didn't know which liquor she just poured. Again, SAD.
Lucky P — Google review
Visited on a Sunday when our cruise ship docked. There were only 3 people rolling in the factory but we could simply walk in and watch them. We were there for a while before anyone came out to see if we wanted to buy anything and she was very disengaged and seemed bothered to have customers. The facility and experience was mediocre at best but worth a walk to see the area away from the touristy areas.
Jason W — Google review
We had a great experience touring this small family-owned cigar making business. The people were happy and fun to talk to. We each bought a sample of their best two cigars and enjoyed them with a local Kalik Gold on the patio.
Firesteel F — Google review
About a 15 minute walk from the port. Make sure you know where you are going before you make the trip. Not too hard to find just do some research and follow the signs. Overall a fun experience for cigar enthusiasts and the whole family. I booked a tour on the website for $10 a person. Laidback tour lasted about 15 minutes. If you’re a cigar aficionado temper your expectations as it’s a boutique brand and not a huge operation. I did appreciate the free cigars. There is also a chocolate shop nearby worth checking out.
The S — Google review
Great little cigar spot only a 15 min walk from the port. No official tour unless you booked it with a company, but the staff inside are friendly and helpful. Excellent selection of cigars and a nice comfy smoking room.

Restaurant
Graycliff Restaurant, located in the renowned Graycliff Hotel, is a celebrated dining destination that has attracted the likes of Beyoncé and Jay-Z. One of its most notable features is the award-winning wine cellar, boasting an impressive collection of 275,000 bottles from 20 different countries. The restaurant offers a sophisticated ambiance with live music and hand-rolled cigars in the lounge before guests move to the garden patio for an exquisite dining experience paired with an extensive selection of wines.
The restaurant is definitely a special occasion restaurant. It’s classic old world charm with excellent service. We had so many people tending to us that I couldn’t keep track, but Lock-something (I forgot his name) and the bus boy (his name starts with a “C”) stood out! We ordered the following: Seafood medley in bechamel sauce Cheese and truffle purses with butter, sage and truffle oil 10 oz grilled filet of antibiotic free prime beef, red wine reduction and Bernaise sauce Slow oven roasted crisp duck in a Bahamian citrus sauce escoffier Mashed potatoes Creamed spinach Guava souffle Graycliff Bahamian bread pudding with vanilla gelato I really enjoyed the seafood medley appetizer and my husband enjoyed his cheese purses. Originally my steak was overdone but it was quickly rectified by the waiter who’s name starts with “Lock”. He was so gracious about the whole thing, which I really appreciated. The duck was excellent. The skin was nice and crispy and the meat was tender! The mashed potatoes and the creamed spinach were also good. The guava souffle was delicious but I wouldn’t order the bread pudding again. It had too many spices for my taste. Overall it was a good meal with excellent service, especially by Lock-whatever his name is. There’s is a $4 charge for sharing appetizers and a $10 charge for sharing an entree. If you don’t eat a lot, it might be worth it. I heard that their wine cellar is outstanding but we only had sparkling water and two diet Cokes. They had an interesting looking mocktail which I would have ordered if I had seen it before I ordered my second Coke. There’s no parking so you have to valet for $10. Remember to bring extra cash for that plus the tip.

I had an extremely great time here at this restaurant. I got to sing songs with the piano man and have the most awesome time! I gotta say the food was really good, but the prices are insanely expensive! But you get what you pay for! I would highly suggest this place!

The great cliff restaurant has a really cool atmosphere. It’s really a fun place to eat. The service and food were top-notch. It was within an easy walking distance of the port and downtown. It’s on a really cool street with fun umbrellas hanging from the road. This place is definitely worth going to. The bathrooms were very nice as well.
Stephen S — Google review
I didn't get much to eat here, but what I did have was wonderful and all the food I saw at my table looked great, as well as at the other tables. They do have gluten free bread, but it's just standard sandwich bread. The cocktails are very good, they apparently have their own coffee. The interior and exterior are gorgeous. There is even live music, they have a person playing the piano. Will say that this is a smoking establishment and they even have some one who will roll. Another, highlight for me was the plating, they had such beautiful plates.
Natalia C — Google review
High end, elegant restaurant in a beautiful setting. We started with Conch Chowder, which was good, but not better than any other we had on the island. Tuna tartar was very good, but again, not better than any other. We shared a snapper filet, which was delicious in a somewhat creamy sauce that did not inundate the dish. Caesar salad was disappointing; a little on the small side and typical of the Caesar in a nicer restaurant. Food was all good, but not transcendent. Service was excellent and the waitstaff attentive. Very much a special occasion place. A little bit of sticker shock from the prices; there wasn’t an aperitif we had that was less than $20. The entire dinner bill for 3 was $380, inclusive of tax and tip.

Authentic building with great atmosphere and history, but food not up to par. Extremely expensive, presumptuous for what is being served. Tourist trap leaving on past. Impressive wine cellar though.

A unique experience for a trip to Nassau. I decided to book the afternoon tea. What a lovely way to enjoy the surroundings. Attentive service. A nice presentation of the food for the tea. Beautiful decor to enjoy yourself and take a break from the heat.

This is a unique place in Nassau. The restaurant itself is located in a historic building, it also had live piano which was a very nice touch. The host was a bit judgmental in the way he looked and spoke, granted I was dressed somewhat casual, it is bahamas after all, but the rest of the stuff was very friendly. Duck was excellent, wine was excellent, they are famous for their collection. For desert I got guava souffle and that was a highlight! It is a big desert so definitely share it. Garden are looked very romantic too. Also they have a very good lunch menu but had a short trip and didn't get a chance to try it.

There are lots of street vendors that are surprisingly fairly priced. I bought a painting here as a gift to bring back for my father. It was only $ 3 USD, and the artist painted it right in front of me. Just try to stay away from the obviously corporate-run stores as they tend to be way overpriced.

Historical landmark
Blackbeard's Tower, located in Nassau, is a hidden gem with a lot of history. It was said to be the lookout of the notorious pirate Blackbeard during the Golden Age of Piracy. The tower is nestled among houses in a residential area and has not been well maintained. Inside, you can see writings with Blackbeard's name.
Take Blackbeard's Terrace (road) up the hill. Google Maps directions are incorrect. Locals helped us find this place. It's a very hidden trail right next to a private residence driveway (see pics). The lot next to it is empty and filled with overgrowth. Very cool stop. Be prepared to hike a short trail through some brush.
Christa M — Google review
Take the advice of others. DO NOT follow google maps. Use Blackbeard’s Terrace. It connects to the main road. Once up and then down the hill, go around until you find the white corner gate. The path is extremely difficult to see but it’s there. This is an amazing piece of history, you just cannot miss. Don’t be discouraged by getting there.
Rebecca J — Google review
All the other review are correct about finding the path, except they left out one thing. Walk up to the white gate....close enough to touch it on the right side. Look, right, and there is the path! Full of garbage... almost like someone doesn't want it to be found. Very cool spot to imagine the pirate past. Looks like the stairs were added at one point a few years ago as the nails in it were galvanized and machine made. The upper beams, on the other hand, are all tongue and groove and embedded in the structure. no nails required.
Jim L — Google review
First, do NOT follow Google maps to get there! It will take you onto Fox Street and then Sills road which does not connect to the tower and ends in a bad part of town. Instead the East road along the coast will branch into a small road named "Blackbeard Terrace" which on Google maps does not extend to the road. This will take you up a hill and to the tower which is nestled in among trees by a house with a corner gate. The tower itself is very cool to see and a part of history. If you like pirates this is a nice stop. Be sure to go inside and see the engraving on the tower.
Devin L — Google review
This place is a HIDDEN gem. We only got to it via a very nice local who helped us! It’s right between some houses in a residential area and honestly crazy how they haven’t kept up with it. It has so much history and you can see all the writings inside the tower with Blackbeards name. The stairs are broken and it’s pretty unsafe for young kids or people in wheelchairs so this place is definitely for those willing to walk through a forest area and then climb up inside to see inside the tower. Be careful because there’s no supervision there. No tickets needed. Just hoping you guys can even find it!
Dara C — Google review
Hard to find. Black Beard Terrace will get you there. Park next to house and find the trail. Loads of trash on trail. It was very cool being someplace that was occupied by pirates 300 years ago.
Steve S — Google review
What a shame this piece of history is now completely derelict. Fascinating background to the tower. Stair completely collapsed, and inscription is being taken back by nature. However worth the climb through the fly tipped rubbish as a point of curiosity and well well off the cruise liner tour’s itinerary !
N P — Google review
Continue beyond Fox Hill Rd. and the graveyard. After a few driveways you will come to Black Beards Terrace. Turn up this lane and continue. It will turn left at the top. Continue. The lane will then make a right turn. Stop. Just to the right of the gated driveway there is a path to the ruins.

Located in Nassau, Senor Frog's is a vibrant restaurant and bar that offers an exciting live music scene. It's a popular spot for both locals and tourists, especially those looking for a lively atmosphere with tropical cocktails and finger foods. The venue hosts talented local musicians who showcase their skills throughout the week, providing an opportunity to immerse in the energetic vibes of Bahamian music.
Stopped by for a quick drink. Very large popular place located in the centre of Nassau by the seafront. Great choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Food menu available but we didn't stay to eat. Relaxed fun vibe to the place. Service was great, friendly, helpful and welcoming, especially Netty who was amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

Great place to have drinks and party with your friends! The food is mediocre, but that’s what you expect here. The drinks have a ton of sugar in it so make sure you double up on the alcohol. The waiters are super fun and it’s just a party. You can buy the waiters drinks too.

Waiter was great, place was pretty, just enterprise’s in my opinion and not the best taste. Paid $26 for 4 mini tacos… it didn’t say mini on the menu. And they add $24 on top for service fees and their own gratuity. Not recommended. Paid $120 total for 2 plates and 2 drinks.

What a setting, sit and watch the world go by, all the cruise ship action right over the water. Hot wings and Caesar salad! Large portions very nice, cold beer! The frozen margaritas at $20 a go are steep, nice but expensive. 3 of those was equal to our food bill. Lovely place lovely atmosphere, Nassau is awesome.

Senior Frogs is a must visit if you've never been. If you have been, you know what to expect. Loud music, a fun loving waitstaff and a lot of booze flowing. We've been to this location twice, 10 years apart, on our honeymoon and now on our 10 year anniversary. It was so much fun both times. The music and DJs were amazing. Food was good. It is right on the water. I would literally stay all day. Its our tradition when we cruise now to try if there is one at the port we are at. Definitely a special place to us. 💚

I was here with a friend for lunch and unfortunately, it was a bad experience. We ordered a Caesar salad and mine had 8 croutons, about 6 pieces of chicken strip , salad dressing , grated cheese and mostly lettuce and it cost me $22. Even Wendy’s has a better salad for half the price. Even more disappointing was the alcoholic drink (the yellow drink) that my friend ordered which was charged for $21. Please don’t bring kids here or bother stopping here for a meal. Food is overpriced and the lady that we gave our money to was very rude.

If you're looking for a seafood restaurant with some serious mounds of food, Oh Andros is the place to go. The grilled conch here is especially delicious, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The only downside is that it can be quite busy, so make sure to book ahead.
This is a good place to eat. I read past reviews about how confusing it is when you ask people to recommend a place to eat and they all say “the fish fry “ then you arrive to blocks of many little restaurants that many of them say “fish fry”. We read reviews and this one had good ones so we came and try it. Food was great and portions were super big. Many people were taking leftovers. I had the grill snapper. Absolutely delicious! It came with two fish! But not grilled, at least not what I consider grill. I think of a grilled fish cooked without any oil, this one was more like deep fried however, the seasonings were just so delicious!! The rice was on the hard side for me but still very tasty. My husband had shrimp and lobster, he thought lobster was a bit salty but nothing that would ruin your food. Our sides were fried green plantains, also super yummy, and mac&cheese. Finally my son had the cheese burger and not even crumbs were left on his plate. For three dishes, two sodas and two waters we paid $90. As you may already know they add a 15% gratuity to your check. Things to know, there are no bathrooms in the restaurant, actually most of them don’t have any inside either. Instead, you have to walk across the street and use the public restrooms, which are pretty decent. Only seating options are booths, not bad for space but in case you need a different seating option this may not be the place for you. They also give you the option to pay with PayPal for a $6 fee. My husband asked for a spoon and they said they had no spoons, odd, but we managed without. The waitresses were not very friendly but they did their job. Overall I would recommend this restaurant. Also while you are here or after, you need to check out the frozen daiquiris in the next door locale “Bruno’s”. They were also super delicious!!

Before walking in , Vondra asked did we need a table for two. She was very friendly and straight to the point. Me and my husband absolutely enjoyed everything . We had Conch which is fried snail , I would have never tried this but it was so damn good lol. We also had grilled snapper with Mac and cheese and potato salad as well as lobster , shrimp , rice and peas and coleslaw. Everything was excellent. We enjoyed our time eating there .

Great food with large portions! I ordered their spicy chicken wings and the chilly pepper fish and both were delicious and very flavorful, in addition, they were cooked to perfection (not overly cooked, dry or oily). The portions were also very large, enough for 2 people. I also ordered their conch salad - I thought it was good, but nothing to shout about. The only downside to this place is it can get busy and take a really, really long time to get your food. If you're in a rush, probably better to skip this place.

Our first meal outside of Atlantis and it was great!! We ordered the lobster and red snapper and scarfed down the whole thing! It did take what felt like forever haha… we went around 2PM on a Friday. But it wasn’t too bad. We sat in door in AC and snippets of rush hour 2 was playing so all was good.

Ok people, if you want to see a plate that 5 people could eat out of, this is the place. The amount of rice, potato salad, plantain and fish, was enormous. Delicious, tasty, nicely spiced and fresh. Wait time to get food was not the greatest, but totally worth the wait.

This restaurant is at the famous fish fry. The food was delicious 😋 The staff were super friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Massive portions. Restaurant
The Cricket Club Restaurant & Pub is a great place to eat if you're a sports fan or just looking for a nice place to relax. They have TVs all over the place so you can watch your favorite games, and their British breakfasts are delicious.
Beware of this menu, delicious and dangerous. Conch was hot and fresh. Ox tale, chicken curry and burger was cooked to perfection. Now, sides are something else. Potato salad, coleslaw, fries were amazing and lots of flavor. Highly recommended
Sam — Google review
As a newcomer to The Bahamas, I wanted to try something truly local—and I’m so glad I did! I had sheep tongue souse for the first time here, and it was absolutely delicious. If you’re visiting, this dish is a must. I’d come back just for the souse alone! I also ordered the steak and eggs breakfast. The steak came a bit overcooked at first, and then slightly under the second time, but the staff handled it incredibly well. They were so accommodating and went above and beyond to make things right. Once everything was sorted, the steak turned out phenomenal—juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly to order. Prices are a little on the higher side, but the portion sizes more than make up for it. You definitely get your money’s worth, both in quality and quantity. The place does get busy, so there might be a bit of a wait, but with the stunning views and great atmosphere, it’s well worth it. I’ll definitely be back! المطعم مميز من ناحيه الاكل جدا لذيذ والطاقم فيه اكثر من رائع انصح بشوربه اللسان عشره من عشره وطبق الستيك

Very good value for authentic Bahamian food or British/curry dishes. The grilled red snapper plus plantains and the Mahi sandwich were very good values. You can also get 3 Sands beers for $11.
Brian E — Google review
I Don’t feel sorry for this review, Nassau depends on tourism most of everything for income, when we got to the Cricket club, of course we ordered the conch fritters, $4.50, super spicy, sauce too, the grilled snapper $24, super spicy too, the rice and plantains were good, beware rest of the world, pepper in Nassau means spicy hot! And drinks. No matter the food Mrs Tammy treated us like she was giving the food for free. Rude, mad or she was having a bad day. The rest of the staff was very nice and polite.
Charlie R — Google review
The food was delicious, and the serving size was very filling. You are not going to walk away hungry. We ate outside and you cand see old ruins of Fort Charlotte from the colonial days. The price tag in comparison to other restaurants was cheaper. The only draw back and my criticism is not only to this restaurant, it's for every place that provides any type of service, is they tack on a 15% gratitudy tax and when the staff brings you the check they ask if you want to add a tip. My tip is that 15% grtitudy tax is just paid. And you feel guilty if you don't. At another restaurant I was told that gratitudy tax is split up amount the staff, sometimes not the person who served us. I should say who my tip goes to. But regardless it's a must see and tast their food.
Al S — Google review
This place is hard to review. The food was excellent and prices were decent. My wife got the grilled shrimp and veg packet and I got curry shrimp with plantains and macaroni. We also split the cracked conch snack. The food was excellent; however, the service and wait time after ordering was not. We got there at 1215 on a Sunday and found a table immediately. However, it took until 130 to get our food. It was very crowded but still took way too long and all of us customers were getting angry. People at tables all around us were pissed off. One table who got a fried mahi mahi and a seafood pie told us they had been waiting almost 2 hours. It was so so slow. So I would recommend going but only when they are not that busy.
Stuart D — Google review
Everyone should discover this absolute gem 💎. Locally owned and staff with the best of the best, the atmosphere is welcoming and staff goes above and beyond expectations. There was no wait when we visited. We had the conch fritters and fish chowder to start. We all had crab rice. I had cracked conch, Glen oxtail, Jackie whole grilled snapper, and Bridgette had cracked lobster. The portions and sides were substantially large than our appetites so everyone took away "doggy bags". Price reasonable for families -- and they were plenty of those visiting while we ate and chatted. My only let down was I was willing to purchase tee-shirt that said The Cricket Club but they were none available for sale. 5 stars and two thumbs way up!
Cedric K — Google review
Come here with my family every time we visit. They have an awesome live band. Great food at reasonable prices. Very family friendly. Recommend for locals and tourists. You may end up dancing, and joining others doing the same.

Marina Village at Atlantis is a charming waterfront destination within the Atlantis Resort. The village also features upscale boutiques offering designer fashion and jewelry, as well as a variety of restaurants serving Bahamian and international dishes. Nice secure experience. Lots of activities and it's clean. Service is 4 star. There are no facilities for warming food. They wanted $18 to warm a plate of food. No way...
Hubert J — Google review
Dont miss the Junkanoo Parade on Tuesdays and Fridays @ 9 PM.Starts at the Ben and Jerry's and ending at Carmine's.The village houses multiple restaurants and is a nice little hangout to eat if you want a takeout and sit outside watching the sunset and yachts.
Soumya T — Google review
Wish to have a better wifi connection but the rest is excellent. I love the sunset with all the mega yacht views. Pizzeria, Starbucks and ice cream shops are excellent as well as the variety of restaurants, bars and shops.
Andreina O — Google review
A pool of stores, most of them are restaurants or surf wear, in front of the Atlantis. You may shop here and they charge your hotel room. The views here are breathtaking. It look extremely beautiful during evening hours with some light music ,streets are adjacent to the deck where in you can see beautifully decorated yacht all over. Marina village is basically of Atlantis which has two access one from the Atlantis and other is for general people. It has got many restaurants, ice cream stores ,shopping area and music all over the place

Art Museums
Junkanoo World is a celebration of Bahamian culture and tradition, featuring music, dance, and art. The festival has its roots in the seventeenth century when enslaved Africans were granted a holiday to celebrate with their families. What began as a masquerade has evolved into the country's national festival, showcasing elaborate costumes, percussion music, and dances during parades on December 26th.
We absolutely loved Junkanoo World! We learned so much about Junkanoo, the costumes and how they are made, as well as how to play the drums. Although this is a small museum, it is full of rich history and amazing people. Legendary Quentin Woodside and his family were so very wonderful and accomodating. We tried on Junkanoo headresses and costumes! I love everything about Junkanoo and now I love it even more! One of the best experiences we have had in the Bahamas! Thank you Junkanoo World!
Nicole F — Google review
I’ve thought it will be a proper museum, but never know you need to get someone to open the door to open the place for you to have a view inside. I’m not sure how to appreciate it cause for me the place look a bit creepy. Also, It’s hard to get a taxi from this place, and we end up walking back to the harbour area that took almost 30 minutes.
Diyana G — Google review

We went here as part of a tour. We learned about the history of Junkanoo, and got a chance to play drums and cowbells and be part of a mini parade. My husband and i thoroughly enjoyed it!

Such a wonderful place to go and learn about the history and culture of Junkanoo! The individuals who run this place are very friendly and dedicated to preserving the history. This is a good place to visit if you are on vacation to get a taste of Bahamian culture!

Barbabbas and his family help run this spectacular Museum and tell the history of Junkanoo with a spotlight on their influence in it! This is a MUST SEE STOP. You will not regret stopping by Junkanoo world and having your own mini parade!! Barababbs is the most amazing man and does countless things to help support the community. He is the king of Junkanoo and is a wealth of knowledge of the culture and JUNKANOO!!

Saunders Beach is a serene and secluded stretch of white sand, shielded by an offshore island, making it popular for swimming. It's a hidden gem known to locals for its calm and clear waters, perfect for a relaxing dip. Families with children will appreciate the shallow water, onsite restroom, and playground. The beach also offers food and drink stands for convenience. With its tropical trees creating a picturesque backdrop, Saunders Beach provides a quieter alternative to the bustling Cable Beach area.
GEM! About 2,5 miles from JUNKANOO BEACH. Less people, very beautiful beach.
Kevin I — Google review
This beach is very beautiful, has a bathroom (very clean), free parking, free access to the beach, an outside shower to clean off the sand, and overall, a very good experience! Way better than fish fry beach!
MJ N — Google review
Stopped here for a day at the beach with the family. We picked it because of the Google reviews. It was not at all crowded and we easily found parking (a parking lot right there). We quickly found a spot on the beach with shade. The water was beautiful and calm, and sand was so soft. The bathrooms were very clean and the attendants were very nice. I will say that there was some trash strewn around areas of beach closest to the sidewalk, so I took a star off for that (we found a broken glass bottle in the sand that one of us almost stepped on). At one point, an ice cream truck even stopped - pretty cool! Otherwise, a really nice find and would recommend.
Jody G — Google review
What more can be said for a place that is known for its beautiful beaches and this beach is just one of many around the islanld, you have access to restrooms, and showers, lots of parking also. This is one of many you can watch the beautiful sunset over the ocean.
Brian B — Google review
Beautiful Beach ⛱️⛱️ free parking The sand is super soft as you walk along the beach. It look clean. The water was clear water for most part so you can easily take a nice dip. The water is warm. Also public restrooms there too. Bring some chairs or towels to chill out on there aren't to many trees 🌴🌴 for shade take some shades. Driving it's bout 5mins from downtown. And less crowded.
Corenzo W — Google review
Beautiful beach, so paceful. If you are on a Cruise ship, and have time to take the 30 min walk, please do it!!! It's absolutely worth it. It's like a private beach, nobody goes here. Be aware that there are no showers or toilets around. There is a KFC and a Burguer King just across the street.
Marcela H — Google review
Very beautiful unspoiled beach for a quiet getaway away from all of the tourist traps. It was a $5 cab fare to get here from the cruise ships. We arranged for the cab to pick us up at a certain time and he was right there on time. It is too far to walk there. If you are looking for amenities such as kayaking or jet skiing, then go a little further to Goodman's Beach. This was very quiet and we were able to snorkel right off the beach. I saw a spotted ray and huge spiny lobster along with quite a few fish. I would love to go back and just do garbage pickup as there was some trash among the rocks and sea floor. It could be cleaned up quite easily. The water was crystal clear.
Leanne B — Google review
Saunders Beach is a local hangout. Love this beach for its cool environment. Definitely away from the port and busy area. It's not front cover pretty but it makes up for that in local feel and vibe.

The Western Esplande Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Grand Turk. It is walking distance from the cruise port and has a cool vibe with no hassle. There are many options for food, drinks, and beach chairs to rent here. The beach is also popular for tourists who come to pick up souvenirs for family and friends back home.
Nice beach for toddler! Water is crystal clear as you expect.. I paid 50 for 3 chairs and an umbrella to very nice lady. Had a good time.
Jay J — Google review
Public beach spot without vendors' haggling !!!! Facing the water, on the left of all the shops & rentals (across the street from the Courtyard hotel), this hidden space under the trees' shade provides a cool, non-commercial access for beach & relaxation. Same water & sand (a bit "trashy" from vegetation nature) but much cooler temperature vs that in other areas (even with an rental umbrella) Bring your own towels or ground covering since this is a non-commercial spot. For the restroom, walk back to the vendors' area (across the street from the police station). Just to be safe, again bring your own supplies (soap, TP, etc...) we found none available on our stop.
Atlanta A — Google review
The water was clear and clean. This beach is part of Junkanoo beach but doesn't have all of the vendors and shops and people trying to sell you things. The beach itself was rocky so definitely bring water shoes. The beach was also not very clean. I would not leave your items unattended while swimming because it didn't seem that safe. Most of the people on the beach were from the cruise ships.
Joseph S — Google review
This beach is an excellent option for cruisers. It's a 20-30 minute walk from the port and boasts crystal clear water, soft sand, and several food and drink options. In mid-May, the water was the perfect temperature. The only negative at this beach is that it's relatively crowded, but we sat near the water so we have a lovely view of the water and the lighthouse. We rented two chairs and an umbrella for $30. They told us it was $10/chair and $20 for an umbrella, but they'd give us the umbrella for $15—we only had $30 and they didn't seem to care. We ordered food from one of the food stands and paid about $45 for a beer, one water bottle, fried seafood, and a chicken sandwich with fries. Pay attention to the fine print ok the menu because there are gratuities and taxes that aren't factored into the list price. The food was good enough but it didn't change my life. If you are interested in water sports, there are paddle boards, water bikes, jet skis, canoes, etc available to rent too. Definitely a good option if you are coming from the cruise port and want to spend the day relaxing.
Sarah D — Google review
Western Esplanade Beach is a peaceful and scenic spot with soft sand and calm, clear waters. The beach is spacious and less crowded, making it perfect for relaxing, swimming, or enjoying a quiet day by the ocean. The surrounding area has a relaxed, local vibe, and the gentle sea breeze adds to the overall tranquility. It’s an ideal place to unwind, take a leisurely stroll along the shore, and soak in the natural beauty of Nassau’s coastline.

Scott B — Google review
The water was beautiful. Unfortunately, there was just a small area for public access, and the port holds up to 8 ships. There were 5 ships at port while we were there, so it felt pretty crowded. We got there early, so it wasn't bad at first, but as the day went on, it got more packed. On top of that, there are the locals who are constantly trying to rent you: the umbrellas, beach chairs, jet skis, and other assorted equipment that you'll have to say no to several times. Some of them are trying to sell you trinkets and stuff just trying to make a buck. Heard the same guy give different sob stories that changed from person to person. The beach and town itself had trash everywhere. Was a very clean experience. Unless you want to see the town and learn a little history, I'd recommend skipping the beach and staying on the ship or at your resort.
Kris M — Google review
MUST COME!! This small beach is in walking distance of the ship and right next to restaurants for lunch. There are beach chair rental places, fresh coconut drinks, a couple bars and small stores right there on the beach. The sand is white and the water is clear!! Really nice spot just get there early it will get crowded from the ships. We went at 9am and had it to ours selves almost until 11. Oh and lots of different fish in schools swim around you the entire time in the water it's nice!!

Bonefish Pond National Park is a vital wetland in The Bahamas, serving as a crucial habitat for local birds and wildlife. It's a popular destination open on specific days, offering free admission to visitors. The park is renowned for bonefishing, where anglers seek the elusive silvery game fish in shallow coastal waters. Additionally, the Bahamas offers diverse fishing experiences including reef fishing and big game bites. The area around Bonefish Pond also provides an opportunity for nature walks amidst stunning scenery.
Jimmy's Wines & Spirits along with Corona Beer volunteered to clean up the park. It was alot of work but with the effort. The park is open on the weekends and the boardwalk is a beautiful walk through the pond. If you haven't been, go and bring your kayak...so much fun exploring the pond!
