Sofitel Luang Prabang is a luxurious hotel that seamlessly blends French sophistication with Laotian cultural heritage. Housed in a century-old colonial mansion, the hotel offers chic suites with private gazebos and hot tubs set amidst manicured gardens and fortified walls. The elegant flood-lit pool provides a relaxing retreat after exploring the town's gilded temples and palm-stuffed alleys.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at the Sofitel Luang Prabang. The resort is very spacious and there are just over 20 rooms. This makes it incredibly quiet and a wonderful place to unwind. All the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. The service is beyond 5-star, simply fantastic. The free shuttle service and the rabbits on site are the highlights. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

The property is architecturally beautiful and historically significant. The grounds are kept well. Since there are only 25 rooms it has an intimate feel to it and the staff pretty much knows all of the guests. I opted for one of the 4 pool suites which helps cooling down in the middle of the day. However, the pool could have been cleaner, it had black organic matter at the edges of the water level and partially all over. So I found myself having black feet and hands when I got out of the pool. On the positive side, the pool is totally private and visually cut-off. The rooms are a bit dark but that is understandable, considering the historic overlay of the property. Except for one staff member, I found that the staff was really going out of their way to make the guest experience a memorable one. While I am generally not a big fan of hotel spas, this one is really fantastic, both for the quality of the treatment and the setting.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Luang Prabang. The hotel’s heritage status and elegant design aesthetic created such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. We loved how the colonial and Lao aesthetics were beautifully blended throughout the property. Service was outstanding—warm, professional, and attentive. The car service made exploring Luang Prabang easy and enjoyable, especially with kids. Special thanks to Max, Tee and the Governor's Grill staff. We had a really enjoyable and relaxing stay at this hotel and we would highly recommend it!

I'm a travel professional and visited this Sofitel on 27th March for one night. Overall I think this hotel is GREAT value and a GREAT experience. They have a massive pool and super quiet grounds right in the heart of Luang Prabang. Breakfast is copious and varied. The rooms are a little dated - but not horrendously so. The indoor /outdoor bath and shower deal was really nice. Their light switches need updating as they're set at toddler height and don't easily show when they're on or off. The roaming rabbits were a charming touch. The staff were all really pleasant, efficient and client-focused. I continue to be puzzled as to why ACCOR forces local staff to use the deplacé "Bonjour" French greeting in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam - all part of FORMER French Indochina. Their management claims it's an expression of "le French touch" and that staff are very forgiving and oblivious to history. However, I think it's about as appropriate as Marriott instructing its Vietnam staff to greet guests with "Howdy, how y'all doin'?" If ACCOR insists on this everywhere else that's up to them but there are some countries, former protectorates or colonies, where it's just daft. When I'm in Vietnam I want to hear Vietnamese or at a pinch English - the world's second language. Having spoken to a number of ACCOR staff in all three countries who have to do this, I know they resent it. That aside, I can highly recommend the SOFITEL Luang Prabang.

Our room (room 19) wasn’t cleaned until we called in the morning, and when housekeeping finally arrived, they entered noisily—chatting with each other and even taking a loud phone call while I was trying to work inside the room. Later that evening, they forgot to do turn down service as well. When we called the front desk to request it, they told us they were unable to reach housekeeping. Breakfast was the same everyday. Super boring and not many choices! Last but not least, a member of the hotel staff attempted to enter our room without knocking while we were inside. This was completely unacceptable and a clear violation of our privacy. At check-out, I tried to speak with the front desk staff about the incident, but she didn’t even look at me—an extremely rude response. When I asked to speak with the manager, she said the manager was unavailable. I then requested to speak with a supervisor or anyone from management, and she made a phone call without any explanation or acknowledgment, leaving us waiting until our airport car arrived. Throughout the entire interaction, she never offered an apology or even a simple thank you for our stay. I have stayed at Sofitel before and always had good experiences, but this was the first time I encountered such unprofessional and disappointing service at Sofitel Luang Prabang. Never again!

Wonderful 5 day stay. Shout out to Lee for her hospitality and arranging for us to settle in. All staff including restaurant staff and drivers who ferried us to and from the old town and the various restuarants in town. Hotel is exclusive and private with an old world charm.
Wee A — Google review
Stayed in Sofitel Luang Prabang for two nights, the hotel was a colonial building renovated(used to be French governor house and a prison). Although the hotel is a bit far from the old town center, they do provide free shuttle bus to 3 nagas, their sister property in the heart of old town. The space and garden are beautiful, we feel very peaceful while in the hotel. A large hotel with only 25 rooms, each room/villa is so spacious althouth the interior is a bit dated. Every corner exudes rich historical colonial ambiance. The pool is very large and beautiful. Jumping into the refreshing pool during hot afternoons is absolutely delightful The staff are truly impressive - everyone is incredibly friendly, whether it's the front desk reception, spa masseur or restaurant staff, all demonstrate exceptional service standards. I’d like to express special gratitude to Min(or mim? I am not sure). He is the bar manager in Governor’s grill while we had dinner. He is so friendly and shared with us a lot of his stories and myanmar condition, which we truly enjoyed. We had oil massage in the spa, which is very good overall. The price is on the expensive side but not outrageous. The therapists are skilled and using high-quality essential oil. The entire session left us wonderfully relaxed. The best surprise was the adorable rabbits on the hotel's lawn! They leisurely walk around the grass, and watching these fluffy little creatures instantly melts away all fatigue and stress.

We came as a couple to visit Luang Prabang for 4 days. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcomed by the management team, and every interaction thereafter with restaurant staff, housekeeping, front desk etc. was warm and highly personalised. Hospitality at its best. The property itself is a stunning oasis of luxury, the restaurant food quality was super, and the additional services such as transportation or tour arrangements were much appreciated.

The hotel features modern amenities such as air-conditioning, flat-screen TV, free WiFi, and minibar. Guests can relax at the spa or partake in yoga classes at the on-site studio. The hotel's bistro serves delectable Lao-French inspired cuisine.
Excellent location in town, near to the night market, morning market and an easy walk to places of interest. Service has been extraordinary with extremely attentive, pleasant and professional staff who were always willing to answer queries and make restaurant bookings. Really great room... comfortable, bright with enough space to walk around, read, watch tv and chill. And good washroom that did not pose any safety concerns. And yummy cookies everyday...9 And the sunset cruise was really great too... very relaxing and pleasant and certainly a nice way to view the scenery. Canapes and drinks made it an overall enjoyable experience. So congratulations to management and staff... keep it up, you made gha hotels my go to for hotel bookings

We spent 5 days there in August and had 2 rooms, as we were a family with 2 grown kids. Everything was wonderful. The pool was cool and inviting. The breakfast had a huge assortment of cuisines; the rooms were large, quiet and comfortable. Unlike many of the luxury hotels in the area, the Avani+ was directly in town so we could walk almost anywhere. I’d recommend it and would stay there again if I ever return to beautiful Luang Prabang.

Excellent hotel in a superb location! Very nice, clean, and well-furnished rooms, very quiet despite its central location. You can get everywhere on foot and practically never need a tuk-tuk. The staff and the general manager are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Definitely going back.

All of the staff were wonderful — from the front desk to the restaurant team, housekeeping, and the spa therapists. Their service was excellent, always polite, and incredibly helpful. The hotel’s location is great, with a peaceful and private atmosphere. The rooms are very comfortable, perfect for a relaxing stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Avani Hotel! Everything was excellent — from the warm hospitality of the staff to the quality of service throughout our visit. The team was always attentive, friendly, and ready to assist with anything we needed. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere made us feel comfortable and welcomed. We truly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend Avani Hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and relaxing stay. Nata - Tom

The decoration is beautiful the staff polite. However several other things make this hotel not good .lts way overpriced compared to other 5 star hotels. The tours in their transport vans way overpriced too as,is airport and train transfers The rooms are very small. No coffeemate or milk in the room. The breakfast has very limited choice. The restaurant where l ordered imported ribeye steak 2 days running was bad tough and tasted like buffalo so l am not sure of it's origins. When l checked in a whole drama about the price and they tried to charge me double it was a long time sorting out this error. Overall very disappointed with the hotel. On leaving another error with the bill causing more delay. As for your reply the steak the 1st night was ordered as medium well came back rare which l informed them on the second night. The second night at least 30% was inedible and was quite a disgusting taste . The charging issue was your reception tried to charge me over 1500 dollars in the 1st place and l spent many minutes explaining it was double the charge booking.Com had given me in the first place .Also hair tongs, got left in the room but no one even bothered to contact us to say they had been found.

Avani+ is perfectly located — you can walk from the hotel to almost anywhere in Luang Prabang. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, recommending great restaurants and must-visit attractions. The hotel itself is new, and the rooms are beautifully designed. I felt completely relaxed throughout my stay.

Resort hotel
Satri House, a colonial-era mansion in Luang Prabang, was once the childhood home of Laos' first president. After a complete makeover, it now stands as an elegant boutique hotel with 28 unique rooms and three suites adorned with local Lao artifacts and antiques. The property features two outdoor pools, free Wi-Fi, and a spa for guests to enjoy. Visitors can also relax at the garden bar or explore the pond- and palm-dotted grounds during their stay.
A very special place. This was my second stay and it did not disappoint. The ambiance is fantastic, a beautiful garden setting with beautiful old buildings, two pools, lovely intimate spaces to sit throughout the grounds, with beautiful Lao artefacts everywhere. It’s like staying in a grand home. The staff are absolutely fabulous and take great care of guests, the gardens and the rooms. The breakfast is superb and the restaurant serves delicious food. The General Manager, Robert, deserves a special mention. He provides such warm, personal attention to guests. His interaction with staff is respectful and caring. It seems a really happy work environment with him in charge. Would not hesitate to return.
Moyra R — Google review
Wonderful boutique hotel tucked away in its own private gardens. The architecture is a mix of French colonial and traditional Lao/buddhist influence. Keep in mind that it is colonial style so dont come here expecting modern/post-modern conveniences. For example, instead of blackout curtains, you’ll have wood shutters! So enjoy getting away from the modern western world and immerse yourself in old world charm.
Trung H — Google review
Satri House was unique and full of character. The rooms were excellent, the public areas beautiful with lots of vegetation - very peaceful and relaxing. It was very near to the centre so it was easy to walk to. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast, an occasional lunch and dinner. The quality was excellent although the choice at breakfast could be improved. Overall, we loved our stay here and would recommend it for anyone who likes somewhere a bit different. Just be aware that there are a lot of stairs between the rooms, restaurant, reception etc so it might not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Nivin M — Google review
Wonderful boutique hotel, quiet, comfortable; lovely well decorated big rooms, with lovely bathrooms; choice of food could be a bit more varied but quality was good; nice garden, pool, reading rooms, and even the spa was nice, simple but nice. The best of it all was our reception guy who went the extra mile to make our stay memorable.
Marc F — Google review
Satri House is a beautiful hotel offering a peaceful escape with vibrant colors and stunning pools. The staff is exceptionally friendly, giving us complimentary drinks as a welcome and welcoming felt friendly and genuine. The staff carefully and thoroughly explained what the possibilities of restaurants, trips and monasteries to visit. They also recommended the best hours to visit these places. The hotel also offers bikes, to take around town for free. I highly recommend this hotel!
Diana R — Google review
This boutique hotel is a great place to feel the atmosphere of Luang Prabang : the place is spacious and our 2 rooms were decorated with great taste and personality Take time to enjoy the main swimming pool : a real journey in the past ! We also enjoyed the breakfast : excellent taste, good quantities, and efficient service. NB Please note that some customers might be disappointed by quality of some facilities (e.g. bathrooms need a little modern touch !), and by the fact that there is no TV. But isn’t it the best way to experience Luang Prabang and its out-of-the-time atmosphere ?
Camille D — Google review
Satri House is a higher priced accommodation that’s further away from most of the main attractions than many others. While it is in a restored old house, it didn’t live up to our standards when compared to the lesser priced place we stayed at in the old city. They conveniently forget to tell guests that they are constructing new buildings right in front of many of the rooms and the view is of workers making noise all day. While not unfriendly per se, staff all seemed their job was routine and didn’t go out of their way to help with much of anything. English skills could definitely be improved given the increased popularity of Laos. Rooms are quite dark and in the old colonial mansion style which makes them hollow and somewhat impersonal. The breakfast was far inferior to the one we had at our other LP accommodation. Very small menu and good has no flavor at all. Fruit is very skimpy and not good. The restaurant itself is insanely overpriced relative to many other comparable eateries with limited local choices and should be avoided unless you’re too lazy to venture out of the hotel Speaking of which, the pool area has very few loungers and many guests apparently came to Laos to sit there all day thus monopolizing the space. I’m unclear why you’d spend a pool vacation in a landlocked nation filled with interesting things to see and do but I suppose the high prices attract the snobbier set since many others seem to rave about the hotel. All guests we saw were European boomers who were clearly not in Laos to take in the culture and sights. While not the worst experience we’ve ever had visiting a new place, there are many comfortable and friendlier accommodations all over Luang Prabang so we can’t recommend Satri House
Rob K — Google review
We recently stayed at Satri House. Beautifully decorated, historic building, and first class hospitality. Food was also really good. We mentioned it was my husband’s birthday at the time of booking months before his actual birthday. They must have logged this in their diary because staff greeted him on the morning of his birthday with a cake with candles and sang happy birthday to him. They also gave us an upgrade free of charge to a junior suite in recognition of the special occasion. We don’t understand why they only have 2 stars on google. It should be much higher. Would highly recommend this hotel. Angela and Scott Raworth

Hotel
Nestled on Phou Vao Hill in southern Luang Prabang, La Résidence Phou Vao offers a luxurious retreat with breathtaking views of the city and surrounding mountains. The hotel features elegantly designed suites, an exquisite restaurant, an infinity pool, and a serene spa offering traditional Lao treatments. Guests can immerse themselves in the tranquility of the large grounds, indulge in spiritual teachings at the private retreat, or savor local cuisine at the Mountain Terrace Restaurant.
Set in beautiful grounds in a former royal residence with a stunning poolside view of Luang Prabang, this is a truly special place to stay. The staff are extraordinarily welcoming and thoughtful, and food is absolutely exceptional. It's also very easy to get into town on foot or using the hotel shuttle. Absolutely worth the splurge!

We enjoyed our stay at this fantastic hotel. The service level was exceptional and what we would expect of a 5-star property. The food for both the included breakfast as well as dinner options was excellent. It was probably the best breakfast we had on the entire trip. The property was sprawling and felt very exclusive with wonderful views and beautiful grounds. Our only hang up is that the room felt slightly dated and had some minor issues with the functioning of the bathroom. Regardless, that did not detract from our stay at this wonderful hotel.

La Résidence Phou Vao in Luang Prabang is an amazing place to dine, offering a peaceful and elegant atmosphere. The food is delicious, and the staff provides excellent service, contributing to an overall wonderful dining experience. The restaurant's setting, combined with its high-quality offerings, makes it a great choice for a special meal. However, it is on the more expensive side compared to other local dining options. While the cost might be higher, many feel that the quality of the food, service, and ambiance make it worth the price for a memorable lunch or dinner experience.
Tuan S — Google review
My stay here was fantastic. The comfort and service were the best experiences. They are thoughtful and lovely staff. If you are looking for some serenity, this is a great place to unwind. The location is away from the hustle and bustle of tourist attractions but they have shuttle vans that can take you conveniently and back. I had a 2 hour massage, the oil massage was fantastic. My son swam in the spa pool, the infinity view of the country side was so serene. Food is fantastic, the breakfast arrangements were neatly small but yet the variety was there to entertain many days of stays. A good mix of local dishes to discover too! We had the xmas dinner set, lots of fusion and interesting textures/ flavours. The portions were too huge for us. By the time it was dessert, we were so full. The evening started with kids taking photos with santa, fireplace drinks, christmas carols...all very cute. Our tables were set up by the pool. Highly recommend

The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor were truly appreciated. Every interaction was met with a smile and a willingness to assist. The level of service provided was exceptional. They value guests and strive for excellence in hospitality. Exceptional to the max ! The property sets away from the hustle and bustle but yet offer the convenient to go out and about . Culinary experiences is precious and define . We never expect a real local flavor when dine in the hotel . Our best highlight was the sunset cruise which filled with elegant warm services … left us with the most Magical memory of Mekong river and the love of Loas and the people .

I stayed at La Residence Phou Vao hotel for 4 nights recently and this hotel is delightful and deserving of a 5+ star rating. The property is beautiful, the food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is outstanding, the rooms and pool lovely, and the service is truly exceptional. The staff are so kind and friendly and they think of your every need during the stay - from ice water as soon as you arrive at the pool, to reconfirming dinner reservations off-property without asking, to leaving thoughtful treats in the room every evening; the staff are always 10 steps ahead of what you might want and need. I also used the spa services and no exception here - spa rooms are beautiful, services excellent and good value. I stayed at another 5-star property in the center of town for the first two days of my trip and it does not even come close in comparison to this hotel. If you are debating between hotel options in Luang Prabang, as I did before my trip, I would highly recommend staying here. I also realized once we arrived at the property that it’s in a great location - sits on top of a hill so you get the view and breeze but only 5 mins away from all the sights and center of town. The hotel will run you back and forth in a van or golf cart whenever you need. It’s very easy and you get best of everything.

Amantaka is a chic, colonial-style lodging located in Luang Prabang. Housed in a colonial-era hospital, the hotel offers refined suites, some of which come with private pools. The property features clean lines, high ceilings, and a mostly white palette creating an oasis-like atmosphere. Guests can enjoy daily afternoon tea with various iced infusions and pastries. The hotel also offers fine dining experiences served around the candlelit pool.
We stayed here for two nights, and the experience was worth it. The staffs were very attentive and considerate, they only speak Thai to us (knowing in advance that we’re Thai). The room maintenances and turning downs were seamless, like we had little gnomes who secretly tended to our rooms once we were away. Bathhouse was an unexpected addition to our stay. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the hot bath, cold bath and the steam. The room itself was spacious and well decorated. The lighting details, shadows, and spacing between furnishings were impeccable! We went to a sunset cruise with Bobby, he was very nice in accommodating us. Highly recommended.
Thanatpong R — Google review
On a "Global Scale" Amantaka was very nice - but not outstanding - as far as hotels in LP and Laos, it was incredible - an old hospital I believe converted to a hotel, we had a very large colonial style room - huge bedroom, huge living room, great bathroom - built a very long time ago and updated as best they could but still somewhat older and a little more run down than the pictures on the website would indicate. But it was clean, well appointed and the service was impeccable - as good as any Aman (and we've stayed in a bunch). The food was also very good and they were very flexible in meeting our pescatarian needs. Small little gym and a concierge who was more than helpful. And the hotel is just far enough away from the night market to be quiet but close enough to walk to all the activities and restaurants near by. Highly recommended.
Andrew K — Google review
We had a wonderful stay at Amantaka. The Pool Suite was perfect, with a beautiful pool where we could cool off and swim during the hot weather. You can really feel the sense of peace that Aman is known for throughout this hotel. The facilities are very well maintained, and the staff were truly lovely, providing genuinely heartfelt service at every touchpoint, from the driver to the waiters, spa manager, and front desk assistants. We enjoyed several memorable experiences, including a city tour, Mekong river cruise, trekking to Kuang Si waterfall, and the alms giving. A highlight of our stay was the thoughtful birthday surprise the team prepared for my partner, it was so special. The spa treatments and sauna facilities were definitely top-notch. There was a small incident with laundry, but the staff were sincerely apologetic, and it didn’t take away from our overall experience. Amantaka is on the pricier side, but it is absolutely worth it.
Marcusyhn — Google review
I didn’t stay at the hotel, but I came for breakfast at the restaurant. Since I wanted to visit Aman Taka that morning, I called the hotel in advance to confirm if outside guests were welcome for breakfast. They said yes, though they mentioned the balcony might be full. The menu offers both Western and Lao-style dishes. I ordered the congee—it was really good, with a rich and flavorful broth (probably pork stock). I also ordered the fruit platter. One of the fruits I thought was persimmon (it looked just like it!) turned out to be apple, which was a bit disappointing. The menu is à la carte only, which I think is the same as other Aman properties, like Aman Tokyo. The service was perfect, I talked with few staff about food, hotel and Laos and I really enjoyed a peaceful breakfast. thank you very much. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all—only three other groups besides me.

The Amantaka is a beautiful property with impeccable service and truly outstanding food. Everything about our stay was nearly perfect, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. However, I am rating 4 stars instead of 5 because of an unfortunate experience with a sound healing therapist during our stay. There was an announcement for a group sound healing session followed by complimentary 30-minute sessions. My daughter expressed interest, but the therapist suggested she needed more time. Without clear communication, this was turned into a “private session,” and we were later charged $300 for it. While the experience itself was pleasant, I found this practice misleading and inappropriate, especially at a property that otherwise demonstrates such high standards of service and hospitality. I hope Amantaka addresses this issue to ensure clarity and fairness in their wellness offerings moving forward.

Luang Prabang has many hotels converted from old buildings, but none are done with more refinement than Amantaka. The architecture and ambience is simply amazing. An oasis in the middle of the town—so peaceful that you feel completely secluded once you enter from its subtle entrance. Time slows down in Amantaka, which truly lives up to the style of the Aman group. During our three nights stay, we did the Sunset Mekong Cruise, alms giving, and the Temple Tour, and they were all absolutely wonderful. On the cruise, Tom took care of us with such great attention. For the Temple Tour, Oun was an outstanding guide—he generously shared his passion for Laos and his deep knowledge of the local culture, which was truly moving. We dont think we had any other guide better than him during our trip in Laos. As with any Aman hotel, it’s always the staff that leave the deepest impression—and Amantaka is no exception. In addition to Tom, our guide Oun, and the staff member who led us during the morning almsgiving (apologies for forgetting his name), as well as everyone we met in the lobby, restaurant, and spa-you are simply the best. The highlight of our stay in Amantaka was Elodie. Although we didn’t have long conversations, her warmth, attentiveness, and knowledge of both the hotel and Luang Prabang left us with the most perfect impression of our short stay at Amantaka. We are truly grateful to have her help us during our stay. Well, if you are seeking a peaceful journey in Luang Prabang, Amantaka is second to none.”

A place of exceptional history and emotion. At Aman, General Manager Aurélien Kinne and his team have captured the very essence of the property, sharing it with guests in complete authenticity and in the purest tradition of its heritage, all within a serene, Zen-like ambience that invites deep relaxation and an invitation to gastronomy, a sensory journey perfectly attuned to the rhythm of the place. The location was excellent, just a short walk to the main town and the famous night market. We enjoyed strolling back after an evening out. The property itself was well maintained and had a calm, relaxing feel. The staff were outstanding. Special mention to Sam and Dao from the restaurant, both were warm, attentive, and made our meals memorable. The cruise to the Pak Ou Caves arranged through the hotel was another highlight, well organised and a great way to enjoy the Mekong. The gym was well equipped and a nice bonus for a short stay. The spa was not bad either, a good option for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. One downside was the lack of daily in-house activities. Even the ones listed on the website, like the evening abode walk and meditation class with the resident nun, were not happening during our stay. The mattress in our room also felt worn and might need replacing. Overall, Amantaka is in a fantastic location with excellent staff, good facilities, and beautiful surroundings. With more consistent delivery of the advertised activities and some updates to room comfort, it could be an outstanding experience.

The Luang Say Residence is a luxurious hotel with charming Colonial-style suites set in 14,000 sq m of tropical gardens. The hotel offers an array of dining options and evokes the colonial-era ambiance of Luang Prabang. Guests can experience the traditional alms ceremony where monks collect rice from villagers and tourists at dawn. The hotel's sophisticated design and lush surroundings provide a serene retreat for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the historical charm of Luang Prabang.
I spent one night there. The colonial style building is really great. The location is ideal: aside from the crowd and yet near the town center. The swimming pool is very nice and calm. The staff is very competent and attentive. Breakfast is a real treat. A place I highly recommend.

Our stay at Luang Say Residence was exceptional. Despite arriving early, the friendly staff warmly welcomed us with refreshments and promptly checked us into our beautifully decorated rooms. The French Colonial architecture was charming, and the rooms were comfortable with thoughtful touches like separate toilet closets and excellent shower pressure. The restaurant offered a delicious menu with both Western and Asian options (the eggs benedict was a standout!). The hotel grounds were lush and inviting, and the pool was a refreshing respite from the heat. While the shuttle service has limited hours, the hotel is conveniently located near the downtown area and markets. The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. We highly recommend Luang Say Residence for a relaxing and enjoyable experience in Luang Prabang.

Luang Say Residence is a beautiful collection of colonial-style houses set within a well-maintained garden, creating a truly charming and peaceful atmosphere. The large and stunning pool was a perfect spot to relax, and the staff were very helpful and attentive, making my stay enjoyable. My room was not only beautiful but also cozy and comfortable, with a lovely interior that made me feel right at home. While the location is a bit far for walking to town, they offer a convenient shuttle service at certain hours, which made getting around easy. Overall, Luang Say Residence offered me a delightful stay with its beautiful surroundings, excellent service, and cozy accommodations.

Stayed a week at this hotel. It was very hot here so we used the beautiful pool a lot. It's huge and we had it to ourselves most days. The room was also large and well air conditioned. The service was very eratic. There were very few guests staying here. The staff mainly had very little English and from our observations spent hours on their phones every day. They were certainly polite but lacking initiative. Nothing five star evident here. The hotel was well out of town and was about 3km each way. We walked out once but other times used the bikes supplied. The shuttle runs but not regularly and make sure you ask for it. Mostly they call a tuk tuk. We did check out a couple of local restaurants but there is very little to eat at around the hotel. There is a mini Mart nearby where you can get basic supplies and beer is everywhere. Certainly did not buy anything in the hotel all prices are in US Dollars and it's so expensive. This is Laos eating and drinking is cheap. They were asking $20 for a burger and $4 for a bottle of water. Plumbing was interesting do not use paper in the toilets. Morning showers could only get a dribble from the shower so could really only shower in the afternoon. Breakfast was nice. Generally the place seemed run down. Lawns were not mowed and parts were quite dilapidated. Certainly not a five star experience in terms of facilities or service.

The Luang Say Residence is a wonderful hotel in Laos. The people who work there are very kind and helpful. They make sure you have a nice time. The hotel is very peaceful and quiet. It has a big, beautiful pool that is clean and well taken care of. When you swim in the pool, you feel relaxed. The rooms at the hotel are large and pretty. They have everything you need to feel comfortable. Staying at The Luang Say Residence is an amazing experience that you will always remember. Sources

Really fall in love with the design of this hotel. It is located in the central city of Luangprabang in a quiet area. The hotel has four rooms on each building, which are eight buildings and 32 rooms in total. My room is “Pioneer Suite King” with all facilities that you need in your room. Personally I like to check where everything located in the room but two of my friends could not find the AC and it’s remode control. It would be nice if the staff at the hotel kindly inform guests when assisting them to the room. Really love this place and would recommend everyone to experience here.

Excellent hotel, still retains that old world French colonial down at the heels but perfectly well kept feel to it. Not taken over by the big luxury chains so it retains its own personal charms. Rooms take you back a century to a different time, very laid back feel, breakfasts were excellent and individually prepared. Don't miss the eggs Benedict, best I've had.

Great hotel with comfortable and spacious rooms, 2 km distance from Luang Prabang center. Just at the moment it seems there is a Karaokee bar or party saloon in front of the hotel, be sure to ask for a room at the back of the property not with a street view. Breakfast very good. Staff very friendly and always willing to help.

Le Sen Boutique Hotel is a small yet exquisite hotel with Southeast Asian-inspired decor, offering comfortable rooms surrounded by a swimming pool. The property provides free bicycles and the option to rent motorcycles for exploring Shan State. It's conveniently located near the Night Market and Wat Manorom. The hotel features a leafy courtyard, large outdoor pool, and cozy rooms with luxurious amenities such as free-standing tubs and outdoor terraces.
A level of hospitality and aesthetics that is unmatched. I can easily say that my stay at Le Sen is probably the most memorable accommodation experience across my time in the region! From their overall professionalism and responsiveness to the facilities that are spacious, elegant, serene and include a top notch gym and a gorgeous pool to the remarkable breakfast both in terms of choice and quality of products (I note the home grown garden vegetables). I think by far it was the staff. The cute treats in the room, the helpfulness, warmth, kindness and generosity that is representative of Laos itself. Wondering why Le Sen is not 5 stars!

Every journey tells a story, and Le Sen Boutique Hotel was truly a highlight of my trip to Luang Prabang. It’s a small and charming hotel with around 15 rooms, each thoughtfully designed in a minimalist Lao style. Every detail – from the interior décor to the lush little garden – creates a calm, cozy, and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is incredibly peaceful and feels like a home away from home. I was especially impressed by the warm and genuine hospitality of the staff – attentive, kind, and always making sure you’re comfortable. 💚 The biggest highlight was the food! Everything is 100% housemade using fresh ingredients sourced directly from the hotel’s own farm. Afternoon tea, homemade pastries, and dishes from the à la carte menu were all delicious and beautifully presented. 📍 Perfect location – just a short walk from the night market, temples, and the dreamy Mekong riverside. It’s ideal for those who want to explore the local culture at a slow and peaceful pace. 👉 If you’re looking for a serene, well-designed place with authentic charm in Luang Prabang, I highly recommend Le Sen Boutique. I’ll definitely return!

This Hotel well deserves a 5 star rating. It has EVERYTHING you need for a perfect holiday. The friendliest staff, huge comfortable bed, walk-in shower, welcoming swimming pool and one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Great room, just a few steps to the pool. Great outside terrace with complete privacy. Well equipped Gym. Lovely touches every day - little cakes left in your room, fruit, complimentary water, very reasonably priced pickup and drop-off to the airport. I was offered a free afternoon tea one day in the restaurant, which was delicious. And ALL the staff are so friendly from the Manager, reception staff, cleaning staff, gardener, but especially the restaurant staff, whose beaming smiles and kind words every morning made me feel so welcome. My first evening I got very lost in the town and it was getting dark and my phone was low - I called the Hotel and the Manager himself came and collected me and brought me back to the hotel. Now this is first class service. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and it well deserves all the awards that are proudly displayed in the reception. If you choose this hotel, you will ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!

Amazing boutique hotel! The staff are all so friendly, the food and drinks are amazing, the room is beautiful, and it’s still only about 15minutes walking to the center of town. They also have bicycles and a shuttle if you prefer. Couldn’t recommend this place more! It’s so cute and nice without feeling stuffy or like it’s catering to a specific type of visitor. I love it!

We stayed here for my birthday to treat us with something special. But this place is far more than special. They created a home for us. It was truly one of the best places I ever stayed in my life! The stuff is extremly friendly and helpful. They offer free bicycles and shuttle (+pick up) for free to the center. The breakfast was a highlight also after 5 nights. This is the place were you can find true luxury and authentic kindness from Lao people. Vard from the reception helped us in so many ways. Organised our train trip to the capital, flowers for my birthday, car to the waterfall. He felt like a true friend. I truly miss this place and I will tell it to everybody potentially visit Laos.

This is a boutique hotel that actually deserves to utilize the word boutique in its name. Just WOW! The grounds are beautifully kept, the pool is refreshing, the staff is friendly and well trained and always anticipating your needs (special shout out to Phon, Pepsi, and Kop!). We had a suite and were in love from the moment we walked in, all the modern amenities but with beautiful traditional touches (dark wood details, beautiful flooring, a great balcony overlooking the pool, etc). The location is a bit removed from the center of town but we like walking (15min or so and totally comfortable and safe early mornings and evenings) but we also utilized the free shuttle service when it was too hot or raining. They even lent us umbrellas for the rain! We had breakfast at the hotel (not a common thing we do) for all 4 days we were there and enjoyed it every time. LeSen is a gem and I hope they continue to proudly maintain their property and keep their wonderful staff. I hope we make it back one day but if not, this will always be a highlight during our 5 week Southeast Asia journey.

This is a lovely hotel, within easy walking distance of the night market and a number of temples. The staff, as we found all Lao to be, were extremely pleasant, helpful and just lovely. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable and the bathrooms quite nice. We did not utilize the pool, but heard from others that it was a refreshing way to cool off in the heat of Luang Prabang. The hotel has the added benefit of being the home to Manda de Laos, an exquisite restaurant perched on the edge of a Unesco recognized lotus pond. We had lunch and dinner there, and every morsel was delicious!

What a great pearl in Luang Prabang. Perfect located at the Main Street. Big room with view to the road and garden restaurant. Very delicious breakfast with choice of western and Lao food. Very friendly and professional staff. It is a small place so you learn the staff very fast. Arranged pick up from train station and airport drop off. Laundry service was good as well. This boutique MGallery hotel is a UNESCO treasure and to be able to experience it once in true blue Laotian-style is truly an honour. I was assigned the corner Executive Suite named Tak Bat (Alms Giving) that lives up to its name as I was able to witness the morning sacred ritual right from my balcony as this property is located right smack on the main street of Luang Prabang with the lots of dining options and Night Market just a stroll away. Service by the staff were very polished and very attentive. Thank you to all the staff, especially Nouy, Vilai and Bay from the front office team as well as Tou, Fan and Thip from F&B for their tireless service throughout my short 2 nights stay at this little gem of 15 rooms. Ala carte breakfast was amazing and customization is possible according to your dietary needs. If you are looking for a city hotel in Luang Prabang in a traditional Laotian heritage house which is also a UNESCO building, look no further!

There are three beautifully preserved colonial-era buildings. The rooms are large and exudes an authentic atmosphere of bygone days. The same-name restaurant is also a highlight. Serving both traditional Lao cuisine and international dishes, the food is flavorful and very delicious. There is also an ice cream booth, said to be the first place in Laos to serve icecream. We almost came here everyday during our stay in Luang Prabang.

On our arrival, we received a warm welcome from the staff. We stayed in the Tak Bat suite, which was spacious and featured a large balcony, a lovely bathroom, and a comfortable bed. Our only concern was with the shower pressure; when the showerhead was raised, no water came out, necessitating that we sit in the bath for better pressure. Everything else was perfectly fine. Although it can get a bit noisy at times due to traffic and passers by, this is quite typical for an old wooden hotel in a small Asian town. The hotel provides earplugs for the noise, which didn’t really disturb us during our three night stay. If noise is a concern for you, you might consider staying at the Sofitel instead. Breakfast is served a la carte with over 12 choices, and the portion sizes are generous—far superior to what you would find in a restaurant in Luang Prabang. The food was very authentic. As platinum guests, we were grateful for our upgrade and enjoyed a complimentary welcome drink each day. The staff were consistently kind and courteous, especially Mam and Nouy, who went above and beyond to enhance our experience. The hotel has a sister property, the Sofitel Luang Prabang, which offers a mini bus service throughout the day, allowing guests access to facilities such as the pool, gym, and spa definitely worth taking advantage of! The 3 Nagas hotel is ideally located, just a 2-5 minute walk from the main attractions in Luang Prabang, making it perfect for those wanting to avoid waiting for transport to reach the main sights.

Fantastic experience. Ms. Mim made our day We found the bar when passing by the street on our motorbike. Found out that the bar is a part of 3 Nagas M Gallery Hotel. We ordered 2 signature ice cream and it was delicious. Then Ms. Mim came and said hello to us and told us about the story of this hotel. She also helped us find the market where we could buy some of the traditional Lao glasses made of silver. She also told us about the Happy Hours from at the hotel where we could buy 1 get 1 drink. After buying souvenirs, we came back to 3 Nagas to enjoy the Happy Hours. The cocktails and mocktails were amazing, in addition to 2 yummy snacks, the grilled sticky rice with Mekong powdered seaweed and the fish&chips. Then it started to rain heavily and she with other staff helped us move from the outside bar area to the inside area. We really felt in love with the friendliness and hospitality here. Definitely come back next time in Luang Prabang.

Kiridara Luang Prabang is a beautiful hotel located on the outskirts of the city, offering serene rooms with comfortable beds and stunning views of Mt Phou Si and the surrounding hills. The infinity pool provides a relaxing spot with great views, and guests can enjoy complimentary 5-minute massages from the spa while lounging by the pool.
Location overlooking Luang Prabang and the surrounding hills is naturally scenic. From the moment the hotel's driver met us at the train station to check in etc all the staff were very polite & friendly. We had an issue with our room but it was rectified quickly & to our satisfaction, which says a lot for the hotel's excellent customer satisfaction. There was a very good choice of freshly cooked food for breakfast. The pool overlooking the location is probably one of the best we've seen in Luang Prabang. While it's about a half hour walk into the Old Quarter, the hotel provides an on-call shuttle till 9.15pm. Would highly recommend the Kiridara.

Kiridara Luang Prabang is a lovely, peaceful hotel with great amenities and a friendly atmosphere. The breakfast was simple but satisfying, offering fresh fruits, pastries, and local dishes each morning, along with the option to order off the menu. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had a fantastic view. The bathtub was huge, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. While the TV signal was a bit pixelated (understandable given the location), it didn’t detract from the overall experience. The hotel itself is quiet and serene, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. A nice bonus is the courtesy van, which can take you into town and pick you up with just a quick message via WhatsApp. The only downside was the mosquitoes—there were a few in the room, and we had to kill them, so be sure to take precautions. Overall, though, it was a great stay and I’d highly recommend it!

The suite rooms is very spacious and confortable with great view on mountains and town. The swimming pool area is really nice. Didn't try the food. We wanted to treat ourselves with + 3h treatment on the spa but the two girls was not skilled at all for this kind of hotel and price. Body balance & Alignement was just boring and bad. Then we try reflexology they were falling asleep and doing exactly the same mouvement on my legs for 30min that just burned my skin with the friction of the hair without oil. We had to stop the massage. We get out with 250$ spa bill and not satisfied. Other that's it's a nice place to stay.

Beautiful resort style hotel with just 20+ rooms. Location on a hillside gave it a view of Phousi Hill in the distance. Stylish room had a little wear and tear but spacious enough with an outdoor terrace. Housekeeping did a good job meeting our needs. However, both the 2 pillows were too soft, they should provide one that's hard. Breakfast was outstanding in terms of quality and quantity. Part of it was a buffet and you could also order anything from a menu. Had a quiet dinner on the pool deck too. Location and traffic made it a bit difficult to walk or cycle to the sights, so we relied on the complimentary shuttle which ran until approx.8.45pm. Most of the staff were very pleasant and friendly. Extremely good value compared to the over-priced big name resorts and hotels there.

I had high expectations for Kiridara Luang Prabang based on the stunning photos on Agoda, but unfortunately, the reality didn’t quite match up. The location is decent but not as breathtaking as it appeared in the pictures. The rooms are spacious, but I found them lacking in coziness. The air conditioning also struggled to keep the room cool at night, which affected my sleep. On the positive side, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was excellent, especially the coffee. However, the hotel is quite far from town, and although they offer a shuttle service, the distance can be inconvenient. Overall, I felt a bit misled by the beautiful pictures, and the experience was more average than expected. Be aware that the photos may set your expectations higher than what you’ll actually experienc

Kiridara Luang Prabang offers a serene and picturesque stay, perfect for those seeking peace and tranquility. The property is stunning, meticulously clean, and well-maintained. The local staff are exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and always eager to help, making the overall experience feel warm and personal. The restaurant is another highlight, offering a good variety of delicious options to cater to different tastes. However, there were a few disappointing aspects. The Wi-Fi is extremely weak and unreliable, frequently disconnecting, which can be frustrating. The spa experience fell short of expectations; the treatment was subpar, and the towels were heavily soaked with oil, suggesting a lack of professional cleaning. Additionally, the French lady at reception creates a cold, unpleasant atmosphere with her frosty demeanor and unprofessional treatment of both guests and the local staff, which was disheartening to witness. While the positives outweigh the negatives, some improvements in service and amenities would make this place truly exceptional.

Nestled in the Khemkhong area of Old Town Luang Prabang, The Belle Rive Boutique Hotel exudes French colonial charm with its three beautifully restored heritage buildings overlooking the Mekong River. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a colonial style, featuring large four-poster beds and Lao textile accents. Guests can easily access the main road and the vibrant Luang Prabang night market within a short walk.
We stayed two nights and really liked there. The room was quite comfortable, clean and quiet. It was perfect for a relaxing time. The staff were friendly and attentive. The cruise tour was free with compliment drink. To be honest, I didn’t expect that much, it was amazing to chat with staff and other passengers in nature. Nice gift from my hubby for White Day. Portable water bottles, natural mosquito repellent etc were well-prepared. You can find out that they are committed to improving the environment. And mini bar (juice, beer and water) are all free. Highly recommend this hotel. Hope we will back soon and stay longer.

Comfortable bed. Very nice, helpful and friendly staff. Sunset Cruise was complimentary and was great. Will definitely stay here again. No TV in the room but can be requested.

I was a bit confused of this place by the photos, but booked it due to the good reviews. Basically it's less of a hotel, and more so a collection of buildings on a street that presumably were converted to have hotel rooms. It appears most (possibly all?) rooms are facing the street, and have Mekong River views. It's only a two lane road with relatively low speeds, so not a huge deal. And in a weird way it kind of works, as it makes it more feel like you are in a town vs. a resort. Since it was low season, they double upgraded us from their base terrace to a balcony room. I always appreciate this a lot of hotels will only upgrade if your room is unavailable, or only do it if you have status. The room truly was nice- rustic styled but actually felt new and clean. Much better in person than in the photos. It was too humid to sit on the balcony without fans, but still the views from inside were fantastic. The included minibar was a nice touch. You get two beers included in your stay, and then housekeeping will refresh it with soft drinks throughout your stace. They don't advertise it on 3rd party booking sites (making me think it was a direct booking offer) , but they did also give me a free river cruise for my stay (including one drink). The hotel also provides bikes, and even ebikes for free. I highly recommend taking the ebikes accross the ferry and just riding on the other side. Really nice views, and the ebikes make the hills easy. The hotel has a restaurant accross the street that is river front. I think this is the main draw of the hotel, as you can have included breakfast every morning looking at the Mekong. I was a bit confused on what unlimited all day breakfast means from reading reviews so here's specifically what it is: Once per a day when the restaurant is open, you can order from their breakast menu (attached) at their restaurant. You can order as much as you like while seated, but you can't leave and then come back. The breakfast was good, and it's unique to have full table service. if you compare it to the massive breakfast buffets served in southeast asia by hotels in this price range, the options are more limited but that's a very high bar. In general I found the Laos food at their restaurant for breaskfast and dinner bland, but the western breakfast options were good. Especially the croissants. Note a few caveats for low season right now - the river lounge area is gone. presumably they will reopen it once it's no longer at risk by the water. - Despite reviewers metioning it, they do not do turndown service when the hotel is at low capacity. They don't technically advertise turndown and the hotel isn't in the price range where you would normally see turndown so you can't be too mad. The location is decent. You are maybe a 5 minute walk to the center of Laos "nightlife", and then a 10 minute walk to the market. Definately book here if you want to be by the river.

Such a lovely place with lovely, kind staff. The rooms are clean and traditional with wooden furniture and authentic decor. Right by the Mekong River, the rooms are across a small, one lane road and the restaurant is directly by the river. It is walking distance to the night market and shops. Very good coffee too. From Saffron coffee. Really good. It is not silent but if you're from a big city, it is very quiet and peaceful. If you're from a small town with no noise, you can hear the occasional motorbike and you can hear your neighbor a bit. It has a tranquil vibe.

Wow blown away by this hotel and the service. Room was spacious, clean and well equipped, staff are kind and accommodating. Location is extremely convenient and all heritage attractions are walkable from the hotel. The view of the Mekong river was amazing and breakfast was delicious. Would definitely come back. 100% recommended to any first time Luang Prabang visitors, they truly make this place feel like a hidden gem 🤩

We absolutely loved this place. The buildings are beautiful French colonial buildings right on the river. Our room was massive with a gorgeous sitting area, four poster bed with mosquito netting, desk, beautiful old hardwood floors and authentic antique touches like the huge wooden closet. AC was superb. Our windows opened right out onto a fantastic river view! There are so many things included in your room price. Breakfast was amazing (and included) at the riverside restaurant - build your own- we had lattes, toast and homemade jams, eggs to order, bacon, fruit plate and incredible chocolate croissants. We also loved the free sunset cruise (free drink each). Through the hotel we arranged our own boat trip to PAC Ou Cave and we arranged for our laundry to be done, and for a driver to Nong Khiaw. The staff are so kind and friendly!!! There are so many nice touches, such as unlimited water in environmentally friendly glass bottles, complimentary drinks in the fridge, umbrellas to use, newspapers.... we felt pampered and surrounded by beauty. You will be so glad you stayed here.

Perched on a hill overlooking the UNESCO Heritage site, Luang Prabang View Hotel offers a range of modern rooms with some featuring private pools. The property boasts stunning views of the surrounding countryside and city. Guests can enjoy dining options, spa facilities, and impeccable service. With its commanding location atop Phou Meo hilltop, this hotel provides an ideal vantage point to take in the beauty of Luang Prabang.
Absolutely loved our stay here, the pool is really nice and has an amazing view. There is also a nice small gym. Our room was lovely and looked much nicer in person than in photos, and had a great bath.

My stay at Luangprabang view hotel years ago were always satisfied and i always chose to stay here whenever I visited Luangprabanh. However, my recent stay with my family in May 2025 were unacceptable. The last day of our stay, we came back from a waterfall and our 2 kids were sleeping in the car so we drove the car to park infront of our room to send them directly to the room so they did not wake up during we transfer to a goft car from the hotel to send us to the room. While we were packing for checking out (I was thinking of asking the hotel if we can extend 1hr more for checking out as our kids were tired from our early trip to the waterfall and still sleeping and the time we stayed there were not many guests staying in the hotel) there were already a car waiting to send us to the robbies and cleaners from the hotel waiting to clean the room. So, we had to wake up oir kids and rushing for checking out. No one called for pickup yet and I wondered how could that happened.

The staff is very friendly and they are the best of the hotel. The hotel is a bit run down and it has seen better days. It has a great view which comes at a price being away from the town Center so you need either to take a taxi which is around 5 usd or the shuttle the hotel has.

Villa Maly Boutique Hotel in Luang Prabang is a charming and elegant hotel conveniently located in the heart of the city. The hotel offers a range of room options, from budget-friendly to luxurious, with some featuring outdoor bathrooms and others with air conditioning. The 1930s vibe of the hotel is reflected in its pastel shades, antique furniture, and refreshing swimming pool. It's an ideal choice for design-minded couples and heritage enthusiasts looking for a relaxing stay.
I can't say enough good things about Villa Maly and their staff. We originally booked 4 nights and ended up extending for an additional 2 nights, twice. We didn't want to leave! I communicated with them prior to booking and they were very helpful. They also arranged transportation from/to the train station at a reasonable price. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly and welcoming smile, and 5+ star service for the duration of our stay. I have never experienced such care, kindness, and wonderful hospitality. The hotel itself is charming, elegant, and beautiful. It has all of the amenities you'd want without trying to be something it isn't. Our room was well appointed, clean, and very comfortable. The pool area was beautiful and a very nice place to relax during the day. We enjoyed the daily buffet and á la carte breakfasts offered at the outdoor restaurant everyday of our stay. There were all types of food offered; both Lao and western. Everything was well prepared and tasted delicious. We did not eat at the main/indoor restaurant, although I wish we had. The main restaurant offered a very beautiful and romantic setting with a gourmet type of menu that looked delicious yet affordable. The staff is AMAZING! Everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and caring. We did not have many needs but anything we asked for was met with a smile. The service was impeccable, and I was thoroughly impressed with how the hotel was run. The location is less than a 10-minute walk to the center of town (night market, morning market, temples, etc.). The hotel also offers a free daily shuttle to drop you off at the center which makes it a bit easier to explore further from there. There are many great restaurants in the area (our favorite was Jungala) and the area felt very safe and easy to navigate. We chose this hotel in spite of the higher price compared to many of the other hotels nearby, but the extra cost was well worth it. In my experience, you get what you pay for and that was especially true with Villa Maly. We enjoyed every minute of our time here and wouldn't hesitate to book again in the future. Thank you (kop jai der), Villa Maly! 🙏

Enjoyed a fabulous 5 night stay at Villa Maly. Family of 4, we had two rooms, not connected, but one above the other. Beautiful surroundings with well maintained gardens and a lovely pool. Convenient location, walking distance to everything. The highlight for us were the staff who incredibly friendly and can communicate in English. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Housekeeping cleaned in the morning and also returned in the afternoon to set up the room for the evening, nice touch. Breakfast was great quality with plenty of options. You can also order expresso coffee. Free shuttle bus drop off to anywhere in the city area. Would definitely return, highly recommended.

Vila Maly is a true gem housed in a former royal residence where you can genuinely feel the history in every corner. This intimate boutique property creates a wonderfully personal atmosphere, and the staff are absolutely exceptional – their attention to detail and genuine desire to help with your every need is remarkable. The welcome experience blew us away: local snacks, refreshing drinks, and an arrival massage (a first for us in all our travels!). The amenities are perfectly curated with free bikes to explore the city, shuttle service, a beautiful pool for relaxation, and outstanding breakfast with excellent variety including great vegetarian options. The kitchen staff even accommodated our request for less salt, showing their commitment to personalized service. Vila Maly offers exceptional value for money – you're not just getting accommodation but an authentic cultural experience in a historically significant property. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a unique, intimate, and memorable stay in Luang Prabang!

I stayed here for three nights on my first trip to Laos. It's about a 10-minute walk from Naito Market. It's located in a quiet area, and the rooms are spacious and clean, so I liked it. I'd definitely stay at this hotel again next time. Regarding rental bikes, just ask the front desk and they'll bring them to the hotel. While it's a little pricey, it's a safe option, and they'll bring it right to the hotel entrance, so I recommend asking the front desk to rent a bike.

I believe you’ll have an amazing time at this hotel. The staff are friendly and supportive. The served food is very delicious. The rooms were very clean and fresh, we also had a cozy balcony. I would advise you to bring your own shampoo and shower gel because the ones at the hotel had a specific smell and we honestly didn’t like it. We also wish the pool could close later than 19:00. It’s so hot in the afternoon, we can’t swim at that time, so if the pool could close at 21:00 for example, it would be awesome! The hotel is also a bit far from the city center and there is a dangerous bridge that you have to cross every time you go to the city center.

After visiting Luang Prabang multiple times, I was looking for a hotel that was outside the fray of the main peninsula but still close enough to walk to town. I was also looking for a nice place to cater for a large group of people including families with children for nine nights. This place was perfect. A beautiful, serene location on the banks of the Nam Khan. The hotel managers, Mrs Kaisone and Mr Santi, happily organised many vans, tuk tuks and tours whilst the bar and kitchen staff looked after our every need. The breakfast provided a wide range of options, including delicious Khao Soi. The rooms were clean and well furnished and the gardens were immaculate. There were multiple pools for us to enjoy and the staff even provided me with an unexpected birthday cake. Gotta love Laos and the Lao people. A perfect holiday location. Thank you, My Dream Boutique Resort Hotel!

First of all - we have been to this hotel 12 years ago and we really liked it. That’s why we decided to come back with our kids. Unfortunately we were quite disapointed with the room. I don’t know if there maybe are not many families staying in the family options and therefore they are a quite old. We did not feel comfortable at all. We told the reception, so we got offered another room. However both rooms were really smelly and humid. It might be due to the wet season and we don’t know how the normal rooms are because we decided to cut our stay short. Service was good and they tried to come up with the best option for us. For us as a family the location was also not ideal.

Cash Stolen from Room - Avoid This Hotel! I experienced a serious theft during my stay at this hotel. A significant amount of cash, including HKD, RMB, and Lao Kip, was stolen from my wallet inside the room. The incident occurred between the morning of October 2nd, after we left our belongings unattended in the room. We had confirmed the cash was present the previous night. The hotel’s lack of basic security measures and their inadequate response to our complaint are utterly unacceptable. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this hotel to prevent similar losses.Your valuables are not safe here.

The staff was very kind and attentive. Breakfast was good and there are gluten-free options. The hotel is close to the airport. I would say the place is good value for money. However, the mattress dipped in the middle so my partner and I did not sleep very well when we stayed here. It hurt my back. The safe was broken in our room and we could not set a code so had to use the key which reduces the level of security seeing that we had to leave the key at the reception because there was only one key to the safe and we didn’t want to risk losing it. The hotel absolves itself of any responsibility in case your valuables go missing but we were in a situation where we had to use a key and leave it with someone at the reception. Additionally, the safe’s battery ran out and kept us awake on our last night because it kept beeping. There is a shuttle service to town but the schedule is limited to 21:30 back to the hotel so if you want to stay out late, it’s a 25 minute walk to the hotel from the night market.

Our recent stay at Victoria Xiengthong Palace was simply magnificent, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless and filled with exceptional service. We were met directly at the airport by the hotel's complimentary shuttle, a thoughtful and welcoming gesture that set the tone for our entire visit. The staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating throughout our stay, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Our villa room was exceptionally spacious and beautifully appointed, providing a true sense of luxury. We especially loved our private balcony, which offered a tranquil spot to relax and take in the serene surroundings. One of the highlights of our trip was the hotel's sunset cruise on the Mekong River. This experience was truly unforgettable, offering breathtaking views as the sun dipped below the horizon. It was a perfect, peaceful moment we will cherish. The breakfast was another standout, with a delicious and varied selection that easily met our expectations. Fantastic hotel at the quieter end of the peninsular (doab). Overlooks the Mekong giving a lovely view from the restaurant or your balcony if you are so lucky and there is often a cooling breeze coming off the river. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, at the restaurant and Reception. They will organise your and cars for you making life very easy. This hotel is absolutely stunning. It’s a perfect blend of traditional Lao architecture and culture with a touch of French colonial charm. Every corner of the property feels thoughtfully designed — warm, elegant, and full of character. The surroundings are lush and peaceful, with a gentle breeze that makes you feel totally relaxed. It’s the kind of place where you can truly unwind — calm, quiet, and soul-soothing. But the highlight has to be the bed. It’s incredibly soft and comfortable — one of the best I’ve ever slept on. I fell into a deep sleep, completely relaxed, and honestly didn’t want to get up in the morning. It felt like being hugged by a cloud! We absolutely loved our stay here, location of the property is perfect and u can walk pretty much everywhere including night markets, rooms are spacious and clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable compared to some other beds we have experienced traveling throughout Laos. Breakfast is À la carte and is absolutely fantastic, but truly the À la carte and most noticeable part of this property is the staff they deserve 10 stars. To be honest the check in lady was a bit coarse and aloof, I don’t believe she made a single eye contact with me, so I was a bit concerned how our stay would go. But after that everyone definitely exceeded met and exceeded our expectations. Our cleaning lady was the kindest person. Also Lit and Pepsi were just incredible, it’s almost like word NO is not part of their vocabulary, they really understood what hospitality is. My only couple of tiny gripes are is that the property is by a main street and it does attract a lot of traffic almost all hours of the day especially early mornings so perhaps asking for one of the rooms in the back of the property would solve the noise problem, also I didn’t absolutely love the spa experience and we definitely had consensus on that in our group (we had 4 total rooms) Overall the value for ur money is unheard of and we will definitely be back in Luang Prabang.

Such a scam. After our stay, despite our repeated reminder to confirm the stay, the hotel kept quiet. As a result, we couldnt claim our cashback offer from agoda. Not to mention the receptionist attitude was not very welcoming when we arrived. Not very typical of Laotian hospitality though.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights before taking a slow boat to Pak Beng to visit the Mekong Elephant Sanctuary. After our time there, we returned to the hotel for one final night before heading off again. The hotel is beautiful, like an old villa. It’s incredibly elegant, with everything made of wood, and it has such a charming atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay. The first time, we stayed in a standard room, and the second time, they kindly upgraded us to a room with a view of the river. The hotel is located on the opposite side of the Mekong River, in a very quiet and peaceful area surrounded by greenery. We also dined at the restaurant, and the food was excellent. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was extremely kind and attentive. We had a fantastic experience here and would highly recommend it! The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. They allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel during the two days we were away, so we didn’t have to travel heavily loaded. When we returned, they had even placed our bags in our room, ready for us. This level of service made our stay even more enjoyable. We truly appreciated their thoughtfulness and attention to detail.

Nestled at the tip of the peninsula in Luang Prabang's UNESCO World Heritage Old Town, Mekong Riverview Hotel boasts a prime riverside location with stunning views of the merging Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. This colonial-style hotel offers elegantly decorated rooms with tropical accents, complemented by free shuttle services and complimentary bicycles for exploring downtown attractions.
If your diet revolves around KFC or Burger King, whether at home or abroad, then Luang Prabang might not be the ideal destination for you. You won't find water parks or jet skis here either. However, for those seeking to escape fast food and a fast-paced lifestyle, the Mekong Riverview Hotel is the perfect retreat. Situated at the confluence of the Nam Khan and Mekong rivers, within the UNESCO World Heritage site of Luang Prabang, this hotel offers an ideal getaway. During our four-night stay, the Mekong Riverview Hotel exceeded all of our expectations, surpassing even the glowing online reviews and YouTube videos. The décor of our room harmonized beautifully with the historical charm of the surroundings. With a rain shower, spa bath, and a wrap-around balcony, we spent hours simply sitting and enjoying the uninterrupted solitude we sought. Given its location, the hotel provides transportation to the busier part of Luang Prabang. For the more energetic, complimentary bicycles are available. Breakfast is included, and the restaurant is located across the street on the bank of the Nam Khan River. As the fog lifts from the hilltops across the Mekong, you can savor a delightful bowl of local rice soup. As you may have gathered from this review, the Mekong Riverview Hotel has left a lasting impression on us, and we highly recommend you experience it for yourself.

Nice location, Deluxe rooms are upstairs and have a nice bacony with a nice view on the Mékong river. Rooms are clean but very noisy, particularly when the staff start his cleaning at 8am. Don't intend to sleep late! Their restaurant, the View Point is absolutely not good, this will include your breakfast treat, even if you paid for breakfast with the room, I would suggest you just go somewhere else to enjoy a proper breakfast. Unless you fancy oil, salt and sugar very much.

Awesome hotel a short stroll from tons of good restaurants, night market, and boat dock! They even have some free bikes that you can use to get around town when you get tired of walking. Had a small issue with the shower head in my room; instead of waiting on maintenance guy, they immediately switched us to a different room, much nicer one too, and did it at no extra charge! Staff was incredible and very helpful when we had any questions. We will definitely be back at the Mekong Riverview next time we are in Luang Prabang!

Stayed here for 2 nights in August 2022. The hotel overlooks the Mekong river. Rooms were large and spacious, slightly old. Room had a large balcony. The restaurant- viewpoint cafe - had spectacular views of the Mekong and Nam kham rivers. Staff was friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. The breakfast spread was quite narrow and had very few vegetarian options.

We sincerely loved our stay at the Mekong Riverview Hotel. The staff was fantastic, and we really appreciated the room upgrade upon arrival. The balcony out front was a fantastic place to read and watch the Mekong flow by, and the restaurant had spectacular views as well in addition to great food. We will be back.

We stayed at the hotel as part of our honeymoon trip. The advantages - the central location, the spectacular view of the confluence of the rivers, the kind and dedicated staff, free bicycles to get around the city, the most delicious banana-pineapple-mango shake! The disadvantages - poor breakfast without variety, we found ants in the minibar in our room and sometimes in the bed. But overall a beautiful hotel and great service.

The Apsara Rive Droite is a chic boutique hotel located on the opposite side of the Khan River, offering an intimate and tranquil escape from the bustling crowds. Housed in a renovated French villa surrounded by lush gardens, it provides a classic and luxurious interior for guests to enjoy. Whether seeking a romantic hideaway or planning a special celebration with friends, this riverside bolthole offers comfort and attentive service.
Really great service! Took good care of us by booking taxis, giving us tips, and most importantly, organising the shipping of a bag we had forgotten in another city. The hotel manager and staff are very kind, polite, and professional. The hotel is in a very good state, nice swimming pool, spacious and clean rooms. Especially like the breakfast in the garden. Location-wise, not right in the city centre but quickly there by taxi and soon by boat. Also there is a great restaurant close by so not an issue to be a bit ex centred. Will stay again!

This is a small boutique hotel with a very professional, experienced, and thoughtful manager. The room is spacious with a huge balcony facing the river. The breakfast is served according to our requests and the local coffee is very special. The only setback is the toiletries.
Li K — Google review
This is a lovely property with the most amazing staff especially the manager Mr Peehann The property is beautiful, comfortable and clean with decent sized rooms. The hotel serves a cooked breakfast plus fruit every morning. Eggs cooked to order although pho is available. The local lao coffee is delicious too. You can relax by the lovely pool or head into town. The boat and bridge are unavailable so the hotel provides a free taxi. As mentioned the staff were excellent especially Mr Peehann who even accompanied me to the bank when I lost my card. I cannot think of better service. The area around the hotel is quiet but with a few nice bars and restaurants should you wish to stay local. The hotel also does a great dinner. We ate local lao vegetarian one night. Would definitely stay here again

Everything was excellent. The room, the staff the pool. Peehann the manager was so welcoming, enthusiastic and efficient. We loved our stay there the only negative is the works on the river but that is temporary.

Everyone here was absolutely amazing and the hospitality was fantastic. We were allowed to check in early and check out late to accommodate our schedule. We arrived just in time for the Luang Prabang boat racing festival which was exciting to watch and experience. Our balcony overlooked the river and we were able to see a little of the race(s) from our room.

Our entire experience at this hotel was superb from start to finish. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful manager, Hann, who went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible (from buying us train tickets to getting us late night beverages). The atmosphere of the hotel is very green with lots of trees and colorful flowers. The room is clean, spacious and perfectly laid out with a shaded balcony. Our breakfasts were cooked to order every morning and serves outside in the garden. Last but not least, we enjoy our daily trips across the river with Joi, the boat man who always wished us “good night and sweet dream” every time he dropped us off for the night. For anyone that’s after top notch service and hotel experience, I highly recommend staying at this hotel! We will definitely be back.
Praoampan — Google review
The manager was so nice, a great host. All the staff were excellent. Loved how peaceful and quiet the hotel was, and the location is so central. We enjoyed the breakfast and quaint dining room. The 30 second boat ride across the river to get to town was fun. So was the bamboo bridge.
Andrew B — Google review
Great value for the money. Conveniently located walking distance to the night market, temples, river cruise start, and nightlife street. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They have a little patio area out front on the river to enjoy some drinks or have your meal. The free breakfast was delicious. We had no issues with any bugs or anything in the room. Room comes equipped with a comfortable bed, towels, soap/shampoo/lotion, a safe, and refrigerator. I would stay here again while traveling through the sleepy city of Luang Prabang.

Le Bel Air Resort Luang Prabang is a sprawling property located along the picturesque Nam Khan River. The hotel features a charming riverside restaurant and a relaxing poolside bar. Guests can enjoy spacious rooms with pleasant views of the river and well-kept gardens. While the location is slightly removed from the bustling town center, it offers a peaceful atmosphere. The friendly staff provide excellent service, although language skills may be limited. One minor suggestion for improvement is to address potential safety concerns in the bathrooms.
We booked for 2 nights, but will add one more. We’re here at the end of August and it feels like we’re the only guests here 😅. Haven’t seen any other guests around the property, and we were the only ones at breakfast. I guess it’s kind of nice, feels like a completely private experience. The staff is nice and friendly. The grounds and pool are beautiful, the bed is very comfortable. Walking across the bridge right next to the property towards town felt very sketchy, but after the first few times it was fine. Overall, really nice place, highly recommend 😁

I am surprised with the 4.5 rating on Google for this hotel. At best, it is a three. Anyway, the property, while on a nice ground, is dated. Rooms were nice, I am sure, once upon a time. The breakfast is very mediocre for a 4 Star Hotel. We have traveled for 3 weeks in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. This was the worst breakfast of all the hotels. The service was also poor. Not too many staff members comprehend English or are able to communicate. That is still acceptable, but what was not acceptable to me was refusal to send milk/creamer to the room so that I can make my tea. I was asked to walk down to the restaurant! The location is also not great. While all good properties are near the central area, this property is on the other side of the river.
Dhanesh M — Google review
Staff very friendly and attentive. The rooms were spacious. Good swimming pool area, needs the bar facility improving for food provision. From the front the hotel doesn't have 'curb' appeal but once through the lobby it opens up. Location about half a mile walk to the main street with lots of restaurants.
Malcolm C — Google review
A beautiful hotel, rooms spacious and clean and the gardens around the accommodation blocks are lovely. Nice pool and bar area. Be aware though if you are staying at this hotel in the quieter season they do close the restaurant and serve food at the pool bar The breakfast was nice but not a huge amount of choices.
Louise T — Google review
This is a great place to relax. Since there aren’t many guests, it’s quiet and peaceful, providing plenty of privacy. The atmosphere here is really nice and beautiful, with lots of greenery. Each corner and zone is well arranged, and the poolside area is also great. The swimming pool is clean. Overall, I’d rate it 10/10. The bedroom is clean. I stayed in the cheapest room, but it was spacious and worth the price. The bathroom is nice (though there are some slight paint stains since it’s an old building). The bed is soft, and the room feels airy, not stuffy. I’d rate it 10/10. The breakfast here is average, with not many choices. If there are a lot of guests, you’ll get a buffet, but if there are only a few guests, you’ll get à la carte (but still unlimited orders). For the food and taste, I’d rate it 6.5/10. The service here is good, and the staff are lovely. Although there aren’t many staff (probably because there aren’t many guests, which is understandable), every zone is still assigned staff, so you still get convenience. There is a shuttle service to and from the city center throughout the day (with specific pick-up and drop-off times). Overall, I’d rate it 9/10. All in all, I had a very good experience here, and I will definitely come back again with my family.

Sala Prabang is a charming colonial-style hotel located in Luang Prabang, Laos. It is housed in seven restored historic townhouses, one of which was once the residence of Laos' first Prime Minister. The hotel offers understated rooms with exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings, creating a rustic ambiance that appeals to history enthusiasts. Situated in a picturesque riverside setting, Sala Prabang provides great value accommodation for travelers seeking a tranquil retreat with beautiful river views.
Sala Prabang is a charming hotel beautifully situated along the majestic Mekong River. It perfectly blends traditional Lao architecture with modern comforts, offering a serene and luxurious experience. The rooms are elegantly furnished, providing stunning river views. Its prime location allows easy access to local attractions while ensuring a peaceful retreat. The dining experience is exceptional, featuring a variety of delicious local and international dishes. The staff's outstanding hospitality and attention to detail ensure a memorable stay. Sala Prabang is an ideal choice for those seeking a blend of historical elegance and contemporary luxury.

We had a room in the sister-hotel with a view on the Mekong. Actually, it’s more like a view on the minivans, especially during early evening hours. The rooms are okay. Our shower had very high water pressure, which is good. The noise from outside can be drowned largely by the AC. Cleaning of room was perfect. The breakfast is outside, next to the river. Nice detail; bread is roasted over an open fire.
Marcel M — Google review
The location in charming Luang Prabang and by the Mekong riverside is fantastic. It's a charming hotel and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit simple, but clean. The breakfast buffet is right at a riverside space which is lovely.
Janina O — Google review
The hotel consists of several different houses, each with a number of rooms, spread along the street. The concept is not quite clear. Does not feel boutique hotel. Style of the houses and rooms à bit quirky. Breakfast buffet is a rather sad story. No bar, no loundry service, no mini bar though there is a fridge in each room that works but doen not really cool. No usable sockets to charge phones or other devices. Except in the bathroom but you must leave the light on, so not ideal when sleeping at night. TV with few channels actually viewable. Room cleaning sometimes refills coffee and water, sometimes not. Bathtowels must have been white at some point, but that time has long passed. Location is good but with a twist, really noisy street until late in the evening, night.

If we come to Luang Prabang in the future we will definitely choose this hotel again. I remembered passing by this hotel and impressed by its beautiful lobby. Then we decided to move here when we were sick and desperately needed a good rest. We were able to check-in early and extended the room with a reasonable price. The staff was very reliable - he helped to send my partner to hospital when he was sick, and booked the train tickets for us. The room is beautiful, rustic and bright, high ceilings, good ventilation. The location is perfect - just across the road or down the way there are many restaurants and cafes by the river. The back street is very beautiful and tranquil. We've been staying in different hotels here during our trip, lots of them were overpriced during the peak season, but we are very satisfied with this one. Highly recommend. Thank you for hosting us.
Virginia L — Google review
This is in a perfect location by the river, and a short walk to the main street. Staff are customer-oriented and quick to help, and I appreciate that room was tidied daily even though I did not hang the sign out. However...... Do NOT book the classic room. It is run down in an adjacent building (two units away from the lobby). Room is very dated, lights are too dim especially at night, walls are stained, toilet chokes or couldn't stop flowing, and shower room doesn't drain well. When it rains you can hear the loud sound through the zinc roof and is not ideal at all. I was at room 204, and didn't see anyone else in that building during my three nights stay. I am sure the hotel has better rooms to offer, but just do not take the classic double as it didn't look anything like the pictures.
Keegan T — Google review
The aesthetics are reflective of French architecture, as is the rest of the city. The staff is friendly and accommodating, as are the cleaners. The free breakfast with our booking was amazing and all you can eat. The courtyard seating was location across the street from the hotel right on the Mekong river which was gorgeous to soak in every morning. Our room (109) was well put together, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. A few recommendations for this room: - more lighting is needed for general use through out the day - both French doors need blackout curtains, it’s too light during nighttime. - the shower head needs replacing due to it being completely calcified. I hate to nitpick, it really isn’t in my character, I try to find joy in everything and adapt in unfavourable situations. But I think more people would enjoy their stay if these few things were worked on. Besides that, I absolutely loved my stay and would come back. Great price, great people and a great morning breakfast :)

We stayed 5 nights in this quiet boutique hotel. The room was spacious but the shower stall was small. Although there were large windows for natural light, the light from lamps was limited. The location is excellent, walking distance to everything. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast at the riverside patio was a treat however the food was nothing special.

I had called the night before to book two rooms for one night only for 8 people, so 4 people per room. The hotel employee told us over the phone that they had rooms which could sleep 4 for 600,000 kips per room per night. When we arrived at the hotel the next day, I told a hotel employee at the front desk that I had called the night before to reserve two rooms. This is not the same employee I spoke to the night before. The employee at the front desk told me that they don’t have rooms which could accommodate 4 people, only rooms for 2 people. He said that it was his son who told us about the rooms and that his son didn’t know anything. I didn’t believe a single word that came out of this person’s mouth. I then asked the employee how much it would cost to sleep 8 people. So the employee told me that each room is 550,000 kips. I was very mad that I was lied to and was told a differently story upon arrival. I didn’t want to make a scene and left the hotel with my party to find another hotel in Luang Prabang. Be careful and beware of this classic bait and switch tactic from this hotel. Stay away from this hotel. They may have other hotels in Luang Prabang under similar names. You are warned.

Room was okay, WiFi kept cutting out. Owner of the hotel was cheeky when asking for payment, he tried to give us a completely different exchange rate to anywhere else which would have made our stay much more expensive than the price that we had booked at.

First I would like to shoutout the host of this hotel. He was generally helpful, gave great suggestions on activities, and had a wonderful attitude. All the staff were great. Perfect location, right by a number of good activities. The beds were some of the most comfortable I encountered in my three weeks in Thailand and Laos!

It is difficult to add to the other 5 star reviews already posted for the Apsara and our experience matched that of other reviewers. Our room was exceedingly comfortable with doors opening onto the balcony which remained sunny most of the day. Staff were excellent and Ivan (the owner) was often present to provide information and guidance from his many years of living here. Apsara is well positioned making Luang Prabang easy to explore. Highly recommended.

The Apsara is a charming hotel in a great location with fantastic staff. It seems like every structure in the center of Luang Prabang is a hotel or restaurant. On one side of the central area is the Mekong River and on the other is the Nam Khan River. The Name Kahn, where the Apsara is located, is the quieter and prettier side. In early February 2025 I stayed in a second floor room, which is well worth paying for, as opposed to one on the ground level. But a friend stayed in a ground floor room and liked it immensely. Next to the Apsara is the Tamarind, one of the best restaurants in Luang Prabang. The manager, Mr Room, helped us with everything we needed. He's great.

Nestled in the heart of Luang Prabang's heritage zone, 3 Nagas Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience that beautifully showcases authentic Lao cuisine. Housed within two historical buildings, one of which was once an ice creamery for the Royal Palace, this charming eatery has undergone thoughtful renovations to enhance its ambiance with new furniture and vibrant decor. As part of Accor’s MGallery by Sofitel collection, it combines rich history with modern comforts.
The last time I dined here was over five years ago and the service, attention to detail and food has remained consistently great upon my return to 3 Nagas. We were introduced to a new cocktail, the M3 - a perfect blend of mulberry infusion & gin. My husband and I declared it as the best cocktail we have had in Asia (I dare to say top 3 in my life) Mee (sp?) was also so lovely and explained the story behind the create of the drink — we even went back for another the next day before we left! I’m looking forward to when life takes me back to LPB for another round of the cocktail! ** Special shoutout to Mr Bank who was so kind, patient && absolutely helped us choose a great meal!

We happened to pass by and decided to stop for a quick lunch. We ordered a mix of small fried dishes, including bamboo fish, chicken satay, and a few others, along with salad and red sticky rice. The food was good, although the coconut wasn’t very tasty. One thing to note is that they place large fans directly in front or behind you, and the strong airflow can be quite uncomfortable. I asked them to adjust the direction, but communication was a bit difficult since they didn’t really understand English.

We went to 3 Nagas restaurant twice. Firstly, we went for dinner and we found we enjoyed the restaurant very much. Next day, we were looking for some place for lunch but we could not go for other restaurants because the food here was so good. Service was also superb. Easily the best meal we had as a family in Laos - incredible! Highly recommended! Our kids got fish and chips and chicken fried rice which was amazing. Adults got pork curry and stir fried rice noodles. Delicious. Drinks were good and very reasonably priced for a 5* place. Was about $60 USD for everything including a cocktail for the adults - worth it! If you are in Luang Prabang you must visit!

This restaurant belongs to the 3 Nagas Hotel, and like the hotel, it doesn't disappoint. Food was fantastic. The Lao fish even convinced the child at our table, usually not a big fan of fish. For kids meals, there are local and international options. There's also some interesting local vegetarian options: the bamboo shoot soup was delicious - with lemongrass and subtle chili.

The Namkhan in Luang Prabang is an informal ecolodge that offers a range of amenities including an equestrian center, spa, outdoor pool, restaurant, and yoga facilities. The resort provides activities such as kayaking, sunset cruises, and massages for an additional fee.
Really peaceful and charming property about 15 minutes from Luang Prabang, but the shuttle was easy to use and made the distance a non-issue. We ended up really enjoying being out of town—quiet, green, and right by the river. There’s a lot to do onsite: yoga by the river in the morning and afternoon, a beautiful pool, river tubing, and a nice spa experiences where I had a great massage and my girlfriend enjoyed a facial. The staff were all incredibly warm and helpful. We got picked up at the airport in an old Russian jeep, which was fun, though we were more than happy to use the hotel’s comfortable minivan for the ride back and for shuttles. The many dogs roaming the property were a very welcome touch (particularly Pepsi!) all who have been rescued from the streets by the property’s owner. Dinner at the restaurant was surprisingly great—my red duck curry was probably the best I’ve had anywhere, and my girlfriend talked about the pork ribs for days. Breakfast was just okay; it started as à la carte but switched to a buffet halfway through, which we didn’t like as much. One thing to pay attention to is the room type. We booked a “Superior Suite” which is in the older section of the hotel and found it a bit dark and didn’t love the bathroom. The newer poolside villas looked much more modern and bright, and we’d book one of those next time. The glamping tents by the river also looked fun and different and worth a try. We also appreciated that nothing at the hotel felt overpriced—food, drinks, spa treatments, and activities were all reasonably priced and not outrageously marked up like at many resorts. Overall, a lovely and memorable stay. Would absolutely recommend—but just be thoughtful about which room you choose.

The Namkhan is a truly tranquil retreat, perfect for escaping the busy city and finding peace of mind. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the herbal tea provided is a delightful touch. Breakfast is outstanding and one of the highlights of the stay. The shuttle service to the city center can easily be reserved through the hotel app, and the drivers are professional, friendly, and very attentive. The swimming pool is also an excellent spot to relax and unwind, surrounded by beautiful nature. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay in Luang Prabang. I would definitely return on my next visit and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable experience. As a guest from Taiwan, I can say this has been one of the best experiences I’ve had.

Carl and his team went above and beyond! We booked an additional night after our first night as it exceeded expectations! The shuttle to town is easy and it is lovely being a bit away to unwind after hectic sightseeing. Breakfast is delicious and the team accommodated our dietary needs without batting an eye! When they same exploring the organic garden the team gave us a personal tour with detailed explanations as many of the veggies aren't available at home. The pools were clean and refreshing with ice water delivered poolside before we could even ask! Delightful! We look forward to returning!

The free shuttle service to town center was very helpful as was the golf cart to and from the cabins. Internet connection was expectedly patchy. Our only regret, not staying longer.
Suresh B — Google review
Our experience there was fantastic! We booked 5 nights for our honeymoon. Recently the place was flooded so as a compansation we got upgraded to a bigger room 🤙 The hospitality was great from start! Carl and his team are very friendly and helpful, always making sure that we have everything we need and offering recommendations for activities. I liked that they use an app for guests being able to contact the reception, very convinent. The breakfast was great, after a while they just remembered our preferences which was super nice. Few things to consider: - The road that reaches the hotel is not well constructed and is pretty far from the heart of the city, so if you're planning on going out a lot it can be a bit annoying and costy. - After 11pm it might be harder to find taxi drivers to the hotel, since the distance. - In our opinion the room was pretty dark, should have stronger lights. - A lot of bugs all around, should be careful opening the balcony door 😅 but you'd expect that in a country like Laos.

Indigo House is a contemporary boutique hotel located in the heart of Luang Prabang, just minutes away from the morning and night markets. The hotel's design incorporates traditional Lao elements with a modern twist, featuring a fresh blue and white color scheme and local textiles. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and relax at the ground floor cafe offering homemade cakes and bread. The rooftop dining area provides a nice spot to unwind, although the menu is somewhat limited.
We loved Indigo house, the location is fantastic right on the night market Street, with a lovely little foodie Alley next door to the hotel. It was central for everything we needed. The staff are excellent and a really really helpful. There was a number of choices for breakfast and we enjoyed it every morning. There was plenty of food on offer. There is a bakery attached the hotel which sells pastries which were delicious. Our bed was very comfortable and there was shutter block out the light. It was an open plan room with the sink as part of the room and a room for the shower and toilet off of the room. The shower was concrete with some tiles on it which was the only thing we felt let down our room. We had to go up one flight of stairs to reach our room which never bothered us,going up two more flights of stairs came to a lovely restaurant which was outdoors overlooking the market. We didn’t eat there but we did have a drink in the evening.

Location: the hotel is IN the night market street. The night market starts 80 meters before this hotel location, which means you may need to carry the bags for that distance. We had booked transport by the hotel, so the taxi driver helped out. So, of course, the hotel is close to everything, and inside the UNESCO Heritage City. Service is slow. Limited menu. Food is okay. The pastries were great. Pastries are sold in the bakery outlet that they set up every evening. Rooms: walk up the staircase. We had 3 rooms, one of them had no bathroom, just a bathtub on one end of the room, not even shower curtains or shutters. They should also provide furniture such as a chest-of-drawers or wardrobe.

A really great hotel. Rooms well decorated with massive stone bathtub. Comfortable beds, clean rooms. Perfect location right next to the night market and yet rooms completely silent. Walking distance to everything in the town. Staff were friendly and helpful with booking transfers or giving info. Monks/alms occurs right in front of the property in the mornings. And the breakfast is top notch! Definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Great location, night market is downstair. Couple of issues are you gotta order breakfast and the WiFi was doesn’t connect at all in room 101. I gotta sit inside the toilet room for the WiFi it connect.

Place at great location but the rooms were not upto the marks compared to the prices. The place have great bakery items but all were too sweet so it depends upon one’s taste. Service was slow but plenty of food available. Lot of pastries and sweet items. At night they display everything outside for street market. You need to carry the bags around 90 mtrs if you arrive during evening time when market is open as taxis are not allowed. So keep in mind and plan accordingly.
Singh G — Google review
Very friendly & helpful workers. Ran out to help with my bags from the train shuttle. Bakery & Coffee Cafe tasted great, while breakfast had a lot of choices & great taste. Location fronting Night Market while 3rd floor restaurant had tasty food & nice view.
Randy — Google review
Our family ate at the lovely rooftop restaurant and bar a few times during our visit. The staff is absolutely lovely and they accommodated our needs really well. Food is very well prepared and delicious and not greasy. They adjusted the spice levels as per the needs of our children (as a lot of local dishes use green chillies). You can watch the sunset and the night market while enjoying the breeze. Highly recommended as its the tallest building in LP and offers a different view.

Fantastic and helpful staff with a wonderful setting. Clean and well maintained, pool is great with plenty of loungers. Room is well equipped with outdoor seating. Is walking distance to nightmarket and all sights worth seeing in Luang Prabang. A special thanks to Bed for looking after us! 10/10!

Lovely and cozy hotel. We enjoyed our stay with a real friendly and welcoming team. Reception team were always cheerful and supporting. Pool view wa definitely worth it. Spacious clean and vivid room. Authentic Lao breakfast and international option. Reliable internet speed was an added value for a digital nomad! And one big extra point isnthe location nearby all attractions and night market within a walking distance yet it's in a quiet place. So you can enjoy it all. Definitely will be our favorite option to stay in Luang Prabang.

A very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Pool was lovely to swim in after a bit day sightseeing. It's well located and easy to walk everywhere. Breakfast was OK but you can go out for breakfast if you want too.

had a wonderful stay at Sunrise Hotel Luang Prabang! The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, always ready with a smile and great recommendations around town. The location is perfect , peaceful yet close to the night market and river. My room was clean, cozy, and had everything I needed. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with local touches that made it special. Plus internet speed is amazing suitable for digital work 💙 Definitely a great value for money and a place I’d love to return to next time I’m in Luang Prabang. Highly recommended💙

We had a 5 night long stay at this hotel during our trip to Luang Prabang. The hotel offers various room types including triple occupancy with double bed and single bed (which we opted for) as well as family rooms which aren't offered by many in and around Luang Prabang. The location is extremely close to the famous night market....5 mins walk away. It's located in a narrow lane just off the main road. Rooms showed signs of aging and they need a revamp. Bathroom had a foul drainage smell throughout our stay which were in line with other reviews of previous guests who stayed here. Breakfast spread is okay with two local delicacies and the usual egg preparations. What stood out for us during our stay was the staff be it housekeeping or restaurant staff all of them were extremely helpful and catered to most of our requirements. The view from most of the rooms are basic and the pool area is okay. Restaurant is only open for breakfast no other meals are served throughout the day.

🤓Location is fine. 3-5mins walk to night market, but to see morning alms or to biggest temple you need 15-20mins walk. 🧐Room: I requested to change the room due to bad smell from toilet, at first they reject but i forced them come over my room to feel the stink smell they are ok to change the only remaining room for me. That room at the corner of the pool should not be served!! 🤣Beautiful toilet tile

Sunrise Garden Hotel – Disappointing Stay We booked to stay at Sunrise Garden Hotel on the 15th of July and had planned to return for another night on the 18th. However, after our initial experience, we decided to cancel the second stay. Despite its strong rating of 8.6 on Booking.com and a prominent search listing, the hotel fell short of expectations. The rooms were tired and in need of maintenance—our shower was unclean, and the wallpaper was peeling. While the pool was decent, the surrounding gardens were unkempt and lacked care. Breakfast was particularly disappointing—easily the worst we encountered during our travels and certainly not what you’d expect from a 4-star property. For our second night in Luang Prabang, we chose a different 4-star hotel. Not only was it cheaper, but it offered a significantly better experience: more spacious and well-maintained rooms, attentive staff, and overall better value. We recommend exploring other accommodation options in Luang Prabang. This one did not meet the standard we were hoping for.
Nick G — Google review
The value for money was really poor. The reception staff was friendly, but the rest of the team seemed tired and unmotivated. The room was partly dirty and still showed clear signs of the previous guest. Breakfast consisted of five dishes, all of which were already cold. Overall, the stay was unsatisfactory – I would not come back.

Guests can enjoy amenities like an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, and free WiFi throughout the property. The hotel provides excellent customer service with a friendly and accommodating staff.
I had a wonderful vacation with my family at Villa Oasis. The hotel has been newly upgraded with luxurious rooms, especially the breakfast area with a view of the lotus pond. The pool is clean and relaxing. I will recommend this hotel to my friends.

This hotel really knows how to treat its guests with a smile. From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel right at home with their welcoming attitudes. Every staff member is incredibly attentive and goes above and beyond to ensure you have a pleasant stay. It's the kind of place where the friendly atmosphere creates a truly memorable experience, and you'll want to return soon.

We were welcomed with a glass of tropical fruit juice and a room boasting a direct view of the lily pond. The rooms here are beautifully and luxuriously designed, with exceptionally comfortable beds and a peaceful ambiance. We received attentive care from the staff, who greeted us with smiles at all times. I highly value the prompt service and reasonable pricing. Breakfast was basic, but I particularly enjoyed the coffee.
Christian M — Google review
The experience could have been better. When you’re on vacation, you expect to find a place to rest and relax; however, the hotel is under construction, and I was woken up every day by the noise of hammering and banging. Breakfast was accompanied by the same noise. In addition, there was a bad smell in the bathroom, probably due to the plumbing. On another note, we booked the tuk-tuk service through the hotel, and it was not a good experience. The driver didn’t wait for us on the way back, we waited for him for half an hour, and he never showed up. We had to hire another one from the waterfalls. They said they would give us a discount for the inconvenience, but we were charged the full price for the outbound trip. The laundry service also left much to be desired. Our clothes were returned unpressed, poorly folded, and damp. However, I must highlight the service from the staff, who were very friendly. The hotel will probably be lovely in about a year once construction is finished, but for now, I wouldn’t choose it again.
Narella P — Google review
I should have read recent reviews before staying here: Construction noise pre 7am until the evening Construction also means the only entrance is through a walking alley, next to the huge pile of contruction debris and trash. If you have multiple bags and/or kiddos, its not horrible but not practical Massive amounts of Construction and trip hazards Patio bar thats hovering on the edge of property has a PA system that goes until 11pm.. so your window to sleep is there, but fit it in because not a chance all day otherwise My bed was broken in first room, shower didnt work in the new room. No safes. Small fridge on floor I left a day early, of a 2 day stay. They need to consider guest experience... The staff are are smiling but cmon, you can't call yourself an Oasis with how horrible the conditions are!.. And then theres breakfast, ice cold eggs and some sliced hot dogs are the main staples. Iced latte tasted of 2 day old coffee with come milk and a feeble attempt at foam. Prison food has to be better
D P — Google review
The location of this hotel was great, it was tucked back enough you don’t get the busy road noise, there are only a few sun loungers by the pool however we never struggled to get one, the staff were very helpful and tentative and the rooms were very clean. The only negative is that the breakfast isn’t the best, it’s sometimes cold as the warmers don’t keep it super warm and the variety runs out fast if you go to eat at the morning rush.

Located in the heart of Luang Prabang, Villa Chitdara is a quiet family-run guesthouse with elegant wood furnishings and gorgeous views of tropical gardens or the street outside. The hotel's 25 rooms are all great for those looking for a homely feel while being centrally located in the city.
It's a very nice hotel. The superior double rooms are not very spacious but clean, nicely furbished, and all. We had a room with a street side balcony. The rooms on the other side have a garden view. The staff and the management are very helpful. The breakfast buffet is elaborate and good.

A charming gem in the heart of town. Very conveniently located, making it easy to visit local attractions, the main food street, and the night market. The rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast—though limited—is satisfying. It includes essentials like eggs, toast, fruit, and a couple of local dishes. While it’s not the lavish spread you might find elsewhere, it’s more than enough to start the day. There’s no pool or gym, but the excellent service more than makes up for it.

We had a wonderful three-night stay at this charming hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm and friendly staff who spoke well English, making our check-in process smooth and effortless. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, with a spotless bathroom that matched our expectations. Each morning, we looked forward to a delightful breakfast served in the serene garden area. The selection included a variety of fresh fruits, tea, coffee, bread, cake, noodles, and yogurt—something for everyone's taste. The peaceful ambiance of the garden added a special touch to our mornings. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and pleasant stay. We would definitely return!

Overall, a good 3 star hotel. Very clean room. Not spacious though. Tiny working desk. Not very suitable if you stay here and hope to work. But quite fine if you are on your vacation and not expecting to work. Breakfast? Boring same old same old every day. But, the great thing is they have fresh fruit every day plus a coffee machine you can make your own. Atmosphere is good. There is a garden in the middle of the hotel.

such a nice hotel! i stayed here while visiting luang prabang and the room is super clean (and new). the buffet breakfast had a large variety of food, my favourite being the sweet orange juice (i think it’s fresh). location wise, it’s somewhere in the middle of the city meaning a lot of tourist attractions (night and morning market, temples, etc.) and restaurants are of walking distances.

This was such a wonderful place to stay! The rooms were very clean and the location was perfect for walking everywhere. There was a nice balcony to sit out on and the corner room had many nice windows. I arrived on my birthday and there was a cake and flowers waiting. The best part was the Alms giving ceremony heads down this street so you are able to attend without any other tourists.

I had an amazing experience at Villa Chitdara during my stay! The peaceful location allowed me to immerse myself in the local way of life, with monks passing by in the mornings and residents participating in their daily rituals. The villa is situated on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle, yet conveniently located near numerous restaurants within walking distance. Additionally, the main road and the scenic river are just a stone's throw away. The breakfast choices at Villa Chitdara are fantastic, offering a variety of options to suit every palate. The staff members are incredibly friendly and always ready to assist, ensuring that my needs were met throughout my stay. Furthermore, the rooms are beautifully furnished and thoughtfully designed, providing a comfortable and cozy environment. I am already looking forward to my next visit to Villa Chitdara, eager to experience the same level of hospitality and enjoyment.

We stayed at the Villa Chitdara as we found the reviews very favorable and we were not let down. The room was a perfect size for us and had the comforts of home. The shower was nice and hot and while I found the bed a little on the hard side, my partner did not. We had a balcony with a view of the courtyard and enjoyed some relaxing quiet moments out on it. The breakfast offered with our room had a nice selection with our eggs cooked to order. Location is perfect. One short block up from the Mekong river and one block from the Main Street. Street noise we never a problem. The staff were awesome. The woman who owns the establishment helped us get our train tickets to Vientiane which we much appreciated. If you are coming to visit Luang Prabang, you should consider staying at Villa Chitdara.

Villa Pumalin is a budget-friendly accommodation option situated in a prime location in Luang Prabang. Guests appreciate the convenient proximity to the Mekong River, main street, and local markets. The accommodating staff members are praised for their friendliness and flexibility, going above and beyond to assist guests with various needs.
great location - 3 mins walk to mekong river, 5 mins walk to main street, less than 10 mins walk to night / morning market. friendly and flexible staffs - on the last day we checked out around 1pm because severely sleepy (woke up to see the sunrise), 1 hour later than check out time, but since there were no check in yet, staffs showed understanding and even helped us to carry luggage. breakfast is simple but good enough - several choices like noodles, pancakes etc. room is cozy, comfortable. overall, very good place, more valuable than it's rate.

I stayed here for 4 nights in room 01. At first I was concerned because it’s right next to reception and the dinning area but I’m an early riser and it’s overall a very quiet place. My room was clean and very comfortable. Bed and pillows were very comfy. The managers are kind and helpful, booking me drivers to places I wanted to go out of the city. The breakfast was simple and small but enough and delicious. The location is perfect, within walking distance to just about anything you want to see in the historic river district. The street it’s on is lovely. There is no longer a pool which still shows on the Agoda site but that’s not a huge deal for me, it would be nice if they update the advertisement though. I would stay here again. A good value for the charm and quality.

We stayed here for a couple nights in February. The guys at the reception were super kind and helpful: we had some issues with our Vietnamese visas and they let us use their hotel phone to call them for 2+ hours for a couple days. The rooms were also very clean and looked great. Location was amazing - very close to the night market and close to the river. I would definitely come back! Service was outstanding- they did more than they had to! The only slightly negative comment I would have is that the shower would overflow if you showered too long and that the large shower head was not working properly.

Pros: - The staffs were nice and friendly. - The guesthouse is in a very good location, very close to Mekong river, night market and Phou Si hill. - Limited choices of breakfast but the taste was ok. - We booked a room with balcony, and the balcony was huge. Cons: - The facilities ran down. - The serious problem was the cleanliness. There was dust in every corners, unidentified brown and yellow stains on the blanket. The shower room was catastrophe, there were many worms and bugs. - The room was not at all sound-proof and the guesthouse sits among a loud neighborhood. - Staying there for 5 days, we witnessed couple cases of overbooking. So, please make sure before your arrival that the guesthouse secures your rooms.

Nestled at the foot of Mount Phousy, Villa Santi Hotel is a charming blend of history and elegance, once serving as the residence for Queen Khamphan, wife of King Sisavangvong. This 19th-century villa showcases stunning French colonial architecture with its striking white arches and soft green shutters, harmoniously paired with traditional Lao teak interiors. With just 20 rooms, guests can enjoy an intimate atmosphere that reflects the grandeur of Laos' royal past.
I had a wonderful stay at Villa Santi Hotel! The service was great— the staff were very kind and always went above and beyond to assist with any requests. Just had dinner at the main or front building which was nicely decorated for Christmas. It was classy and beautiful with jazz music being played. My friend had Mekong fish in a curry with steamed rice while I had their local khao soi soup noodles with minced pork and fresh herbs. Both were good and the drinks were fine too. Service was great and friendly.

Very disappointing! Don’t come!!! The reception building is newly renovated but not the rooms; they are in different buildings with opposite vibes.. do not believe the reception building pictures, it’s only where u check in and have breakfast (breakfast is so not 4 stars resort breakfast, too normal). The rooms where we actually stay are so old which nothing near the price we paid. The service is so bad, the staff are not friendly; when we checked in the receptionist is on her break time and no one can help us with that, also explain nothing, just gave the keys with no smile or welcoming at all Never ever again

Very disappointing. Firstly the hotel is located outside of town and so its a 10-15min ride to town. On the days we stayed they hadn't planned for the annual festival so there was no courtesy car and no taxis available. Rooms are clean but basic. When we arrived our rooms had been allocated to other guests so check in was a chaotic process with lots of calls around staff and management. Breakfast was incredibly basic - most of our stays in South East Asia have been in 3-star hotels, this was a 2-star breakfast. Pool area is nicely maintained and clean.

The Luang Prabang Pearl Hotel is a charming 4-star accommodation with an outdoor pool and terrace, conveniently located near attractions like Wat Xieng Thong and the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre. The pearl hotel in luang prabang is a must stay if you’re ever in luang prabang! The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are nicely sized and the staff are seriously one of a kind. they are all so lovely. especially mrs chang. they are all so accomodating. answering every question we had, recommending places for us to go. my partner even left his phone in the moped he returned and mrs chang drove him back to the place herself which she didn’t have to do. i cannot recommend this place any more. such affordable luxury

Absolutely 5 star service at this hotel! So attentive and friendly, it really made our stay in Luang Prabang for our honeymoon. They remembered our names, were quick to offer us a drink of juice after coming in from a hot day, and were happy to chat and provide recommendations. The rooms were very clean and quite spacious. The breakfast was solid - no question you will find something you like - including fresh juice that they make by order. Yes there is ongoing construction. It woke us up about 7am each morning but we are early risers so wasn’t a huge deal for us. Thank you so much to the team at Pearl hotel for making our stay so memorable!

We had a delightful time here - to the extent that we rebooked to stay longer! The staff are so amazing. They are so polite, friendly and go out of their way to help you. One time we were relaxing by the pool, and the staff spontaneously brought us fresh squeezed fruit juice and pool towels. They are so attentive and kind!! Honestly, the best service. It’s amazing to have access to 2 pools, perfect in the heat here. There are pool towels left out in bulk and a basket for used towels. There is daily housekeeping if you want it. It’s very clean and there is adequate luggage space! We had everything we needed! I can’t speak for the construction noise, because it appears this was no longer an issue when we stayed at the hotel.

The room was large, nicely apportioned with a large bath and shower area. We opted for a king size bed, which was very comfortable. Most importantly, the air conditioning unit worked well. If there is one downside to the room, it was the lack of a quality bath gel. Pink hand soap is ubiquitous throughout Laos, including the showers, but not my preference for getting clean. As for the rest of the hotel, they have a nicely done local breakfast, fresh juices and Lao coffee. There are two swimming pools with lounging chairs. The highlight is the staff. The day managerial team of Mrs Chang and Mr Cuong were exceptionally hospitable, outgoing and engaged with the guests. The same was true of Mr. Win, the evening shift manager. They did everything to make the guests feel at home. Thank you!

It is quite difficult how many stars to give to our stay in this hotel. Pro's; The price is quite oke, the staff is friendly, and rooms are clean Con's; most important; the rooms are really noisy, a lot of sound outside also in the late hours. Their airport taxi for €12 is far overpriced, via loca (taxi app) you pay around €4. The water in the Pool smells really bad (dont know why, the rain maybe)? For me, this is a 3 star.

Cozy An Boutique Hotel Luangprabang is a newly opened 4-star hotel located in Luang Prabang, just 800 meters from Mount Phousy and 500 meters from the Night Market. The hotel offers comfortable and clean rooms with modern amenities and spacious bathrooms. The staff, including the friendly Vietnamese proprietor, are genuine, helpful, and speak good English. Guests can enjoy a quiet environment just off the main road for a peaceful stay.
I recommend a 100% this hotel! We had a pleasant stay, all rooms have a balcony. The price is decent and the location is perfect. You can rent a motorbike nearby for cheap. The staff is nice and helps get tickets even when they re sold out on the websites ! very helpful. The rooms are great and the beds are comfortable, the shower is amazing and has so many functionalities. The breakfast is good and offers many varieties of food. I would only say that the rooms are very badly soundproofed, you could literally hear your neighbours pee. But we didn’t really mind. The poolside is very narrow too.

Really good location for restaurants, shops and the night market. Close to the Mekong River too. The only downside to this location is the school opposite and there is a lot of screaming during school hours. The front of house staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is ok, although the choice of food is not that extensive. The better rooms face inwards towards the pool. Some of the outer rooms face towards a lot of corrugated roofing which isn't too nice. A nice touch is that each room has its own balcony. Modern air conditioning also works very well. A couple of small criticisms are that the TV reception in the rooms is very poor and the property has no bar or lift. This is a very popular hotel - we stayed here twice and on each occasion, the place was full.

Great location, friendly staff, but a few issues. The hotel has an excellent location—walking distance to restaurants, shops, and key attractions. The staff were kind and helpful, assisting us with tours, transfers, and general information. Very friendly and welcoming! The rooms are good and include all the essential amenities. However, the hotel’s open corridor design allows mosquitoes to enter easily, especially during sunset and at night when you open the door. We requested a mosquito net, but unfortunately, they didn’t have any available. They did provide insect spray, which helped a bit, but it wasn’t the ideal solution.

What a great little hotel, great spot right around the corner from the food market. The pool was a great amenity, we especially appreciated that it was actually cold and refreshing after the hot days. The two boys were always very friendly and willing to help with whatever they could. The rooms have everything you require and the beds are comfortable which isn’t always easy to find. Thanks for having us, see you next time!

little cozy boutiques hotel with great location ran by a Vietnamese owner. quite new. room are great and well equipped. comes with a pool view balcony. they also have ceiling fan too If you are into that. walkable to almost every major tourist attraction in town. food, temple, everything! okay-ish staff. good service but not great. they’re trying their best but not quite there yet. mixed up our booking, some challenging difficulties when asked for invoice. The neighbourhood are quite safe but can get noisy sometimes from parties and blasting loudspeakers. but they usually keep it down before 9pm. i understand that its beyond their control. they prefer USD over LAK and its a bit cheaper if you pay in USD too. overall pleasant stay. recommend, will definitely come back!

Very nice, clean, spacious room. Included breakfast was pretty convenient and very good food options. Location is really close to the main street as well. Staff are friendly and helpful. 100% recommend this hotel.
Amor A — Google review
The room is wonderful. You're literally half a metre away from the pool which is nice and refreshing. You have privacy screens on either side if you just want to relax poolside. The shower has a lot of features, and the beds are nice and comfy. Very soft. Service was amazing. When already checked out they let us leave our bags there for the day, as well as letting me sleep off a minor stomach bug I got in Thailand. They gave me extra water, asked if I was okay and carried my bags to the taxi. As for the location, you can easily walk from there to all the Luang Prabang highlights, and using Loca you will get drivers very quickly due to the hotels location. This is perfect for visiting sights like Kuang Si Waterfalls. I would definitely recommend, and will come back when back in Laos.
Jarin T — Google review
The hotel is in an excellent location, close to everything you need. If you're not planning to visit the waterfall, there's no need to rent a motorbike. The decoration is beautiful, the rooms are clean and cozy, and all necessary amenities are provided. The staff are incredibly kind and service-minded, always ready to assist with anything you need. Highly recommended!

Fides Boutique Hotel is located in Luang Prabang, offering a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi, and a bar. Guests have praised the freshly refurbished rooms with a boutique vibe and spacious showers. The hotel's quiet location away from main roads provides a pleasant stay. The staff are friendly and go above expectations at breakfast. With excellent service and fantastic breakfast offerings, this hotel is considered great value for money by many guests who have stayed there multiple times during their holiday.
Came to Luang Prabang a day ago, the initial plan was to stay in a hostel but just after one night stay, I’ve decided to move to a hotel. Walked around to see few places, absolutely loved this place. It’s slightly inside, 10 min walk to the main road but the rooms are super clean and the hotel has limited rooms so it doesn’t feel crowded. Almost feels like your private guest house. The staff are really nice and kind. Highly recommend staying at this place if you are planning to visit Luang Prabang

We stayed for 2 nights and we really liked it. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was ok too. The breakfast was amazing!! And it was on the garden which was nice. The staff is friendly and the owner is really helpful and nice. Gave us some great tips. It's not in the center but it's walking distance and it's easy doable.

We had an excellent experience. Location, room, cleanliness, staff, breakfast: everything was just perfect. The hotel is very centric, in a quiet street 7 minutes walk to the Night Market and near good cafes and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and clean. Pat, Leo, Toto and the rest of the staff were attentive to detail and helpful at all times. And the freshly cooked breakfast in the terrace was superb!

Had a fantastic 3 nights at Fides . Leo takes pride in his hotel, both in service and cleanliness. His staff are a credit to him,and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast outside was excellent Our room was spacious, very clean, the bed was very comfortable. A bonus for us was this is a child free hotel !!! Location is very good, slightly out of Town.so quiet on an evening.,only a ten minute walk to shops, bars, restaurants and night markets. Can highly recommend Fides Boutique Hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay at Fides for 3 nights while we were in Luang Prabang. It is run by Leo, a Dutchman who is very friendly and was extremely helpful with all the random questions we had about LP! The staff were also great: Noi, Pong, Pat, and others (sorry I can't remember the names or have misspelt them). Leo kindly upgraded us to the best room at no extra cost. The hotel is small (dozen or so rooms) with a gorgeous colonial style interior (UNESCO protected). However, the room was also very functional, comfortable, and clean, with a spacious bathroom and lots of space to put toiletries. There is a peaceful garden area with a small bar where you can chill. A simple breakfast is offered. It's located on a quiet road just out of the main historical district, which is only a 10-15 minute walk away. There are good restaurants and cafes nearby. Would highly recommend!

I'd give 5+++ stars for their service - that's just how great, kind, and helpful the staff were. They really went beyond to ensure you have a pleasant experience, not only at their hotel but also throughout your trip. I ran into issue with my train ticket booking, and they were helpful to assist me. The facilities were new and clean. The place and room look better than photos. Hot and cold shower works perfectly. And their bed is amazing - super comfortable!

Wonderful Stay at Fides Hotel in Luang Prabang I had a very nice stay at Fides Hotel in Luang Prabang. The location is excellent—very convenient for exploring the city. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious, and the room was clean and comfortable. Overall, a great place to stay. Highly recommended!
Chua — Google review
The reviews are accurate that the rooms are rather small. However that is more than made up for in cleanliness and comfort. Personally I’d much rather have a decent sleep than a walk-in wardrobe. Staff were friendly and went above expectations at breakfast. You must order the pancakes, they are the best I’ve had!! The bread they serve is also delicious bakery bread. The walk is minutes long to reach the night market and I had a great stay. Only downside is the lack of a fridge as the fruit I bought went bad very quickly.

Vieng Savanh Boutique Hotel, a 3-star non-smoking property in Luang Prabang, is conveniently located near Wat Ho Xiang and the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre. The hotel offers free WiFi, room service, and a 24-hour front desk. Guests appreciate the outstanding staff service that goes above and beyond to make them feel at home.
First of all, I would like to point out how nice, sweet, cheerful and helpful the host boy is. We first booked for 3 days only, then decided that we would not find a better service for our budget, only more expensive, so we booked for 4 more nights. Very flexible and helped us find a solution to all our problems. Recommended programs, which restaurant to go to after the waterfall (rice field cafe, we were not disappointed!) helped us rent a motorbike, which was brought to the hotel at the agreed time. Breakfast is very tasty, lots of options to choose from, which you can eat at the table in front of the rooms. The rooms are very, clean, well equipped, air conditioning works well, internet is average. Sometimes there is a power cut of a few minutes, but this is more of a city peculiarity, they experience it about 5-6 times in a week. Nearby there are plenty of restaurants, money exchange, mobile service, convenience store, 1 min walk to the monk's walk in the morning and 3 min walk to the night market in the evening. Overall, I highly recommend and thank you for having me here.

Amazing family run place, very good service and kind owners. Breakfast is usually included and the milkshakes are delicious. The rooms are clean and spacious. Just round the corner from the night market. Very easy to book a van to go visit different places. Totally recommend!

I needed to escape from the noisy hostels, so I booked 1 night in this hotel. And I am so glad I did. The location is great, my room (superior double room) was very spacious, clean, cozy. The staff is also very friendly. And the breakfast was fantastic! I really enjoyed the peace and quiet and pampering here. Thank you!

We stayed here for 3 nights. I highly recommend staying here. Very close to the morning market, night market, and the main street that has restaurants and shops. The room is big and clean. Hot shower without problem. The highlight of this place is the breakfast with various options and the owner! We had a different breakfast every day and it was all good. This place is owned by a couple and they both were super helpful and nice. I could ask anything when I needed support.

The hotel is in the center of the city, within walking distance of all points of interest. The room was big and clean and the breakfast was very good. But the most important thing was the staff who were kind and willing. Especially Dung, the Vietnamese guy who runs the hotel is the most pleasant, smiling, helpful and willing manager I have ever met. Thank you so much Dung for everything you have done for us!

Cold River is a cozy and informal hotel with simply furnished rooms that come with complimentary Wi-Fi. It's a small, family-run B&B-style hotel located within easy walking distance from town. The comfortable and nicely decorated rooms offer a wonderful stay, although for a view, it's recommended to stay in the upstairs rooms as the downstairs ones can be a bit dark. Guests highlight the friendly staff, amazing included breakfast, free water supply (especially helpful during hot weather), and efficient laundry service.
We had the best stay at cold river!! Lovely owners, great location, clean and nice rooms. And the absolutely best part was the breakfast, which was included for us. It’s a very quiet and nice area with a super nice front yard. We were scammed at the first hotel we checked in at, and you can be confident it won’t happen here. Can absolutely recommend staying at this lovely hotel.

Really really lovely stay here. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Good laundry service and AMAZING breakfast - one of the best we have ever had in SE Asia. Really recommend.
Aimee D — Google review
Nice place with a lovely river view, tucked down a quiet street and in great location for walking to everything in Luang Prabang! Hotel offers a nice breakfast and free water in filtered fountains throughout the hotel. However, the rooms felt like they needed some TLC though. The aircon didn't work on heat setting so we were sometimes cold and other bits were just a bit inconvenient such as broken locks and lightbulbs in the room, and the toilet missing some screws in the base which let a sewage smell into the room. From expedia it was not clear our standard double balcony room came with a wet room instead of a bathroom which was a bit annoying as once showered we got wet feet every time we needed to use the bathroom!
A&B B — Google review
Horrible experience at this hotel. The balcony door in my room is locked by a pair of sliding bolts. The bolts are so loose and worn they dropped by themselves, locking me on the balcony. I was locked out for ages in the heat and eventually had to climb over the balcony to get to reception, injuring myself in the process. The staff did not seem like they cared at all just shrugged and said yeah that happens in this particular room a lot. No one apologized and just nonchalantly said they'll have a look after I check out. Horrendous behavior.

An excellent stay at Cold River! I was a little nervous about my room as it is listed as having no window (I was worried that it would feel claustrophobic). But my room was great! There is an internal window, so you do get a little natural light (but you'll still need the lights on when in the room). But I certainly didn't feel too trapped by it! The decor is lovely and everything is clean. There is a kettle in the room and tea and coffee provided. And a water dispenser in the hall (always appreciate this to avoid plastic bottles!). The breakfast was excellent and plenty of it (your choice of eggs, a plate of fruit, a small bowl of yogurt and muesli, crepe/pancake, baguette). The location is nice too and only a short walk to the main tourist drag. The laundry service they offer is great (line dry rather than tumble dry, so your clothes are treated with better care). There's a lovely cat that I made friends with 😻. The only thing I can think of that I didn't love was the pillow was a little too firm/large for my preference. Overall I can definitely recommend staying here.

The Cold River homestay was one of the nicest ones I've stayed at in SEA so far. The whole place and concept seems really thought through. The place itself is lovely, the breakfast delicious and it's close to the center. It's a bit more expensive, but for sure worth the money.

The Sanctuary Hotel Luang Prabang offers a relaxed stay in a historic setting, complete with a restaurant and bar featuring a terrace for unwinding. Guests can also indulge in massages during their visit. Additionally, the hotel hosts daily screenings of the 1927 silent film 'Chang: A Drama of the Wilderness,' providing an opportunity to immerse oneself in Lao culture.
Excellent location. Within walking distance to Old Quarter or Night market. Room is extremely comfortable and clean. Staffs are professional, fast, and attentive. Not much for breakfast, but food is delicious. Great coffee, indeed.
Hanh N — Google review
Before my 10 day stay at the aptly-named Sanctuary Hotel I read the comments here and looked forward to it living up to the outstanding reviews. It certainly met all my expectations and exceeded many others. I enjoyed the amenities and the quiet escape from the vibrancy of the city. Where to begin? The breakfast buffet is extensive and variety is provided for those on longer stays. The rooms are clean, well-appointed (real tea and coffee at your disposal) and regularly (daily) serviced by professional and considerate staff. The grounds are well-kept and include a refreshing pool area to lounge or swim as well as a garden area to simply relax and read a book. As others have pointed out, the location is perfect for those who have no transport: the peninsula is within easy walking distance and the night market on the hotel's road. The new on-site restaurant was perfect on both visits. The placement of the main building and the other rooms, plus the grassed garden and trees create acoustic attenuation to such a degree you forget the outside world exists. If peace is your thing. Finally, but most importantly for me, all the staff, whatever their role, were excellent in the art of hospitality. Their warmth and their preparedness to assist in whatever way they could to make my stay a memorable experience was world-class.

It is a quiet and peaceful hotel with a lush, natural atmosphere filled with greenery. The room is clean, and the bed is soft and comfortable—perfect for relaxation. If I visit Luang Prabang again, I will definitely return to stay here. It’s a hotel I highly recommend for anyone looking for a restful and pleasant stay

We really enjoyed our stay at The Sanctuary Hotel Luang Prabang. The staff was excellent and above expectations. They got us our get train tickets for a very small fee, helped us with local pricing and gave us a couple amazing suggestions for local Lao food restaurants the 360 Sunset bar and ຮ້ານອາຫານຮ່ອມວັດແສນ1991 Wat Sene Alley Restaurant 1991. We asked about helping schools and they recommended Big Brother Mouse which is an excellent organization. The rooms were lovely, big, clean and beautiful. The swimming pool is clean and amazing, the pond and grounds are peaceful, well-kept and beautiful. The breakfast is made to order and was nice. Thank you everyone at The Sanctuary. We loved our stay and are looking forward to visiting you again in the future.

The hotel is set in gardens and pond. The room we had - upgraded - was spacious and clean with all amenities provided and was next to the swimming pool. The breakfast building is positioned next to the pond and extends over it. The staff there were friendly and helpful. Reception staff were all incredibly polite and assisted with suggestions for our walks around town. We really did enjoy our stay and would definitely come again.

The Sanctuary in Luang Prabang is a peaceful retreat that offers a tranquil escape while still being conveniently located near the heart of the city. Nestled in a serene area, it is surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful gardens, providing a calming atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Despite its quiet surroundings, it is just a short walk from the vibrant night market, local temples, and the scenic Mekong River. The location offers the best of both worlds – a tranquil setting with easy access to the town’s cultural attractions. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay in Luang Prabang, this is definitely a great choice.

How to start. This little oasis is a gem. The grounds are beautiful with ponds and lots of seating areas. Our room was spacious and had so many amenities. Disposable toothbrush which was great forgot mine. Shower caps etc. Shower gel was wonderful. Had a hairdryer. Aircon. TV, refrigerator. The buffet breakfast is like none I have had. Great variety of food and dining outside early morning was wonderful. The staff is very attentive and if you need anything or have questions they are more then willing to help. Pool area very nice though I never quite made it there. They show a movie in the evening again missed but people I saw seemed to enjoy. On our last day there notice they had great Bicycles not sure if Free or if you can rent. The hotel is centrally located short walk river and market. I highly recommend the hotel.

Nestled in the heart of Luang Prabang, DownTown Backpackers Hostel offers a cozy and unpretentious atmosphere perfect for solo travelers and backpackers alike. While the dorms are simply furnished, they provide a comfortable stay with fantastic amenities like free breakfast, tea, coffee, and WiFi. The hostel's prime location places you just steps away from vibrant morning and night markets as well as major attractions like the National Museum.
The good: Location, price. The bad: Staff are honestly lazy/do not care about cleaning the place at all. I ended up emptying garbage bins and cleaning the sink myself after 2 days, then miraculously they scrubbed all the sinks which I found funny. Breakfast is usually a loaf of bread with some jam spreads, on the first day we were given a moldy loaf like very moldy, nice! The day before apparently they served pancakes and then my entire stay there was no pancakes and I was denied one after asking even though a woman was given one after requesting the day before, also nice! Not sure if they were waiting for all the people that checked out to clean or were embarrassed that I was doing their job but at least they did something after 3 days. I will say they did sweep the rooms but dirty toilet paper was left to sit for days and days. Air con is shut off at like 4 or 5am which is a bit drastic. Overall the location and price outweighs the bad, also there is a pool table which is cool. Always go to the station to book your bus tickets yourself, hostels always charge you a premium. I would stay again to be honest just because it is cheap and anywhere in Laos costs way too much for accommodation.
Shelby A — Google review
Whatever you do do not stay here. We thought we got a really good hostel in a prime location but we should have read the reviews first. We arrived and everything was good we went to bed and woke up the next morning covered in bites, we checked the bed and there were bed bugs, we also saw another man who checked out early because of bed bugs in his bed too. I then went to shower before going to the waterfall, I turned the water on and the smell that came from it was disgusting, it smelt like pee. We have it the benefit of the doubt and decided to use another bathroom to brush our teeth and all of the water out of every sink came out smelling the same. We also checked in at 1 and the owners left not long after to go to the capital leaving one man unable to check in and also meant that we had no aircon the entire night as they are the ones that control it. There is an aircon ban and it’s only allowed on from 8pm to 8am which is fine, if it was actually on. We couldn’t even go to reception to ask for it on because there was no one there (it is advertised that reception is open until 10pm). We were meant to be here 4 days and left after the first night, would not recommend, don’t waste your money

If you're after downtown convenience, budget comfort, and don't mind a bit of dorm-room adventure, Downtown Backpackers is a solid pick with major perks like breakfast and location. But if you're sensitive about theft, picky about cleanliness, or need reliable transport support, consider locking valuables tightly or choosing a more polished option.

Busses from here are a scam, do not book transport departing from here. The bus booked from 12go Asia did not show up, another couple who booked a different bus were also stranded. After 1.5 hours of waiting we had to fix different transport. No receptionist available and the person that was walking around the hostel just ignored us and didn't even try to help.
W. V — Google review
Don't book a bus here with 12go it's a scam. Booked a bus with 12go but it never showed up. Were told we'd get a cancellation email but never came through, and 12go not giving us a refund option. Staff no English, number on 12go booking non responsive (we don't even know if it exists)
David R — Google review
Do not trust busses departing here, even 12go Asia. After being there 40 minutes early and waiting until 1.5 hours after the planned departure time there was still no sign of the bus even existing. Hotline does not pick up and the hostel staff does not seem even remotely interested in the whole situation and simply walks away

Can't speak for the hostel itself, but we booked a bus that never showed up and the lack of communication between the people working there and the "owner" was abysmal. Homm Souvannaphoum Luang Prabang is a refined hotel offering elegant rooms, chic dining, and a range of amenities. The hotel was once an old palace transformed into a modern accommodation with spacious rooms featuring balconies and great amenities. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool, spa treatments, and free Wi-Fi. The location is peaceful and close to the night market and other attractions.
Good hotel with cozy vibe. Near walking street and easy for sightseeing. Very quiet atmosphere, best if you want to getaway from hassle. Restaurant is also good. They have a made to order breakfast (selected from their provided menus) which is more than enough to start your day before enjoying a serene getaway. It may seem not much, but it's still worth every penny. Truly recommend and I will be back there again if the opportunity arises.

I recently stayed at Homm Souvannaphoum and had a wonderful experience. The hotel blends modern comfort with a touch of traditional charm, making it a relaxing retreat in the heart of Luang Prabang. The location is excellent close enough to explore the town’s main attractions, but still quiet enough for a peaceful stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable beds and all the necessary amenities. What stood out most was the hospitality. The staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm smile. Their local recommendations for dining and sightseeing made my trip even more enjoyable. The hotel’s pool and garden area are also highlights perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with a good variety of local and international options. Overall, Homm Souvannaphoum offers great value for money and delivers a memorable stay. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Luang Prabang.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and it was an absolute dream oasis ! HIGHLY recommend for anyone in Luang Prabang. ♥️ Long review incoming so TL;DR: Location, rooms, pool, amenities were high quality — but what really stuck out was the fantastic hospitality and service! — 📍Location: fantastic! Near the main road but very quiet and tucked away. Just a quick walk from the night market and the phousi temple + hills and an easy walk or even easier bike to the main central areas in town. 🏨 Rooms: great sized room, HUGE bed (2 singles pushed together but we rarely get this space in nyc! Haha), balcony overlooking the pool with lush views, and a simple but very clean and functional bathroom. They also provided 4 bottles of filtered water (in reusable glasses) which we greatly appreciated. Especially with all the single plastic water bottle waste in Asia 🥺. Housekeeping was prompt and serviced every day. I would say the only negative was that the WiFi was not very strong in our room and we would need to go onto the balcony or in the lobby to get stronger signal 🌊🚲 Pool & amenities: we LOVED having the pool to take a dip in after the HOT humid days. Drinks were buy 1 get 1 free (the entire time lol) and they were yum! They also had free bikes that you could rent from the front desk, which were perfect for getting around town! We had breakfast included and every morning it came with fresh fruit and an a la carte menu (but with no restrictions on how much you could order). They also had a spa but we did not use it. 👩🏻‍💼 Hospitality: WOW! The service and quality level of hospitality was just so lovely here. From the second we walked in we were greeted with friendly smiles and taken care of in such a kind and caring way. Front desk was super helpful in answering our questions, booking a sunset cruise for us and helping us book a scooter for a day trip to Kuang Si Falls and gave us other areas to stop at on the way. Special shout out to Pan and Noun! Restaurant service was always amazing. With Marvin making the BEST mango passion fruit smoothies we’ve ever had and delicious food (breakfast and at the poolside restaurant). He was always curious on how our day was going and checking in on us with a smile! And lastly, even the security guards went above and beyond. We unfortunately had a flat tire on our scooter on a highway ~30min away from town and the security guard (Thongkoun) spotted us on the side of the street, stopped (while in the middle of taking his kids home), rode with us to a nearby town, tried to fix our tire, and when he couldn’t, called a local truck to get us back to the hotel safely! We are so grateful for everyone at the hotel and can’t sing our praises more. The night before we left, the hotel / housekeeping left a note on our bed, written out in delicately cut flowers and leaves 🥹. Such a sweet and thoughtful add!

Stepping into Homm Souvanaphum, once a prince's palace, feels like stepping back in time. Its classic interior perfectly complements its rich heritage. The location is fantastic, offering a peaceful escape by the Mekong River, close to temples and the night market. The staff truly elevated my stay, sharing captivating stories about the hotel's royal past. And the breakfast? Simply delightful, especially the egg Benedict! If you're looking for a peaceful, charming escape with rich history, a great location, and exceptional service, Homm Souvanaphum is an excellent choice.

We stayed at Homm Souvannaphoum for a short getaway, and it was such a lovely experience for us as a young couple. The hotel has a charming atmosphere with a perfect mix of comfort and local style, which made our stay feel special and romantic. Our room was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed, while the pool area was a beautiful spot to relax together. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, always greeting us with warm smiles and helping us with recommendations around Luang Prabang. The location was also convenient, just a short walk from the night market and river, so we could easily explore the city hand in hand. Overall, it was a memorable stay, and we would definitely come back for another couple’s escape.p

Wonderful hotel which was the Prime Minister's residence of long ago. Spacious rooms! Grounds are well kept. Breakfast was wonderful and attendants very helpful and always smiling. Front desk was quick and efficient. A relaxing and peaceful stay!

A lovely place to stay, warm and welcoming like being at home. The staff were very friendly and even arranged a belated birthday surprise, which was truly impressive. The room was spotless with fresh, clean bed linen, and the towels were thick, soft, and high quality. The saltwater swimming pool was excellent, and the breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. I would definitely love to come back again.

Nestled on the outskirts of Luang Prabang, Thongbay Guesthouse is a serene oasis offering picturesque views of the lush green garden and the beautiful Mekong River. The property features charming thatched-roof bungalows surrounded by palm trees and tropical plants, creating a tranquil atmosphere for guests. Visitors can enjoy delicious breakfast served on deck and take advantage of complimentary bicycle rentals to explore the town at their leisure.
We had an incredible stay at Thongbay! The whole team is very attentive and friendly, always there to help and make sure everything is going well ! The breakfast is very high quality and complete, brought to the room or the terrace by a lovely team. The manager was very nice, he hired scooters for us and bought bus tickets for our next destination. It's a real haven of peace and tranquillity, surrounded by vegetation. The room was very clean and well equipped. The location of the hotel is not a problem at all ! Bicycles and shuttles are available free of charge. In less than ten minutes you're in the centre! And you can even get there on foot, it doesn't take very long. It's worth being a little further away for the peace and quiet and the quality of service.

Nice place on the Nam Khan river. Rooms are dated but the atmosphere along the river is peaceful and serene. The main downside is that the rooms have no seal - you can hear conversations and sounds from far away. This was the only time we needed to use ear plugs during our 40-day vacation, with music playing past 2am and construction starting at 6am. Other guests were having problems sleeping. The price seems high for these kind of issues. Other than that, great service all around with free shuttles to the city center. I would just ask that the cleaning staff please don’t look in the room windows to check if we are there, but knock instead. They were peeking in at my wife and I while we were in bed without clothes on.

Very quaint family run property - service was great and staff very kind. Very peaceful, lush setting. Daily breakfast options are simple, but we like that they served them at our villa balcony. The location was considerably more further out than we had anticipated, so I would’ve preferred to be more central. However, you are in a quiet peaceful location alongside the river which many will enjoy. Walking into town would be tough though given the heat. We tried it once and quickly circled back lol. The morning and evening shuttle services into town is great, however. The beds/pillowcases are admittedly not super comfortable, and I think the villas could really benefit from having true lounge chairs (where you can lay out fully) and ceiling fans (it can get extremely hot and there are a lot of mosquitos given the location) on the balconies. Overall, a charming, clean, budget stay that provides good value.

This was the perfect stay - from the start being given welcome drink and a delicious chocolate cake and all the information we could need for our stay in Luang Prabang. We stayed in a river view villa- where we were served breakfast every morning which was delicious and running theme of the food here. On Christmas evening they hosted a special buffet meal with music and dance for all the guest staying where we felt very welcome and at ease. No pushiness to participate in activity at all just a sense of welcome to share in the meal. We ordered room service and it was perfect overlooking Mekong eating delicious food in peace . The layout of the resort is also lovely can wander through lush gardens and loads of little pockets to sit and relax and a spotless pool with loungers . What really makes this place stand out tho is every single one of the staff are really kind- always greeted with a smile and checking in to see if you needed anything. House keeping was also spotless fresh towels when needed. Don’t hesitate to book as the distance outside the center they have a shuttle bus available 6times a day. We chose to walk a few times and it was a breeze.

Excellent little resort. Beautiful property. The staff are very kind. I have not seen property this beautiful since Costa Rica. If you are looking for a quiet retreat, this is it. You can walk to town, you are in the local hood, I loved it. Mr. T, shown here, was very helpful, I thought he was the owner but he’s only staff, he is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He even acted as my translator and helped me with filing a police report when my stuff got stolen on the LCR train. I highly recommend this resort.

Comfortable room, with balcony facing the river, complimentary shuttle service several times a day to the city and excellent service! Mr T is very experienced and was always present at the entrance area every day, ready to help with any of our questions. His team are also friendly. Could feel that they sincerely want all guests to enjoy their stay. We stayed for 3 nights with our 2 kids in the River View Bungalow, booked with them directly via WhatsApp. Although this guesthouse might seem a bit further from the city compared to others, but the spacious room, great service and complimentary shuttle made up for it. Also, breakfast is served right to our room at our preferred timing every morning! Would definitely recommend them.

Excellent place. Very warm welcome and friendly staff. You don't just rent a room, but are really taken care of, in a very warm way. Nice authenic rooms with a terrace with view on the river. Free bike usage to explore the city (perfect way to do so), and a free shuttle service as well. They go the extra mile to ensure you have a good experience! We stayed in another hotel in Luang Prabang too, but this is by far better price/quality! Just another level. Strongly recommended!!

There are one or two things that can be improved at Thong Bay but they are trifling when compared to the location and the sumptuous gardens and taking your breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Nam Khan River. It is a little bit out of town but is easily walkable or take the hotel minibus.

Muang Thong Hotel is a laid-back accommodation in Luang Prabang, conveniently located near Mount Phousy. The hotel offers informal rooms with comfortable amenities such as a desk, mini refrigerator, and coffee maker. Guests can enjoy the large pool in the main courtyard and indulge in a daily breakfast with fresh fruit. The friendly and helpful staff provide excellent service, including concierge assistance and room service.
High quality hotel. Excellent location next to the night market. Very clean and fresh smelling rooms. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was great. Nothing bad to say about this place. Highly recommended.

Rooms could use an update. Mosquitoes will eat you alive even tho there was nets to cover the beds. (Recommend 2nd floor rooms if you decide to stay with them.) Breakfast was decent, but sad to say that customer service was not. We had a large group stayed there - they all decided to only stay 1 night after I've already booked my room. At check in I asked if I can pay/stay for 1 night since everyone else is only staying 1 night, but the clerk refused and MADE me pay cash for both nights while everyone else can pay with their credit card. (This was our 1st time and 1st night in Laos.) I don't like to leave negative reviews but be wary and sure of your dates because once its booked they dont care to work with you and they won't reply to your email or answer your calls.

We stayed here in summer ‘24 for 2 nights after a 2 day hike excursion to recover. It’s a nice hotel with comfortable clean rooms. Service is good. Breakfast is very Asia-oriented but offered enough choice for us. We also had some lunch and it was good. The breakfast area is nicest outside, inside it lacked some coziness. The swimming pool was the favorite of our boys to relax and the hotel offers free bikes so it’s easy to cycle to the center and visit places. We had dinners there at the night market. The hotel is associated to Lao Airlines and checkin for our next flight to Hanoi was very easy cause we could do that from the hotel, with luggage labels etc. Good value for money.

Our rooms were nice, clean, and well-maintained. The bedding and towels were exceptionally soft. Lovely breakfast. Airport shuttle bus was included. Staffs were super friendly and helpful, considering the fact that I asked them at least 5 times to help open the door. (it was definitely skill issue) The hotel’s location made it quite convenient to get around. (1-2 kilometers away from most of the attractions) The only downside would be the fact that our rooms were upstairs. Note: - the stairs made it not so age-friendly - highly recommend the rice porridge in the breakfast menu - if you are flying with Laos Airlines, you can check in and get your boarding pass right at the hotel (super convenient!)

The rooms are just ok, but nothing like a 4 star. The walls are paper thin ! I had to use earplugs to sleep the first night as I could hear the people next door being very loud. But they came knocking on my door, when I was watching tv !!! It's far to be from a 4 star. Just a 3 star. The rooms painting needs to be refreshed, needs a baggage holder, and a curtain net to allow light !!! Needs a nicer reception area, and a nicer breakfast room. At the moment, it looks like a backpacker hostel. Would I recommend it ? Of course NOT !! I stayed in 4 stars hotel boutique hotels in south east asia before , far fat better ! The Belle rive is a 4 star , and it is, far far far better than the Muang thong hotel !

Nice interior of the hotel, clean swimming pool, tasty breakfast (with dinner dishes served morning), good quality of coffee. Super friendly staff, always smiled. Rooms not so nice, small blanket not enough for 2 people, funny smell in the bathroom and the fungus on the walls close to the bath. Rooms are super dark and quite dirty, a lot of dust in the corners. Nevertheless good hotel for spending 2 nights here.

Thank you for the wonderful stay! Breakfast included in the spacious and peaceful abode. Convenience in witnessing the morning alms ceremony occurring directly outside the facility. Cute, small hotel in the middle of town. The orchid suite is huge and perfect for families. The other smaller rooms are closer to the small courtyard where breakfast is served. Those can a bit noisier. Breakfast is a la carte, simple, and tasty, especially the Khao soy and tamarind coconut jam. Bathrooms could use a slight update. Service was really good. Staff took great care of us and held onto items we forgot.

This is a little gem 💎 of a hotel. We spent a week here & felt we couldn't have made a better choice of a place to stay in Luang Prabang. You are just a few paces from the Mekong and very near all the major sites here in the historic quarter. If you have a street side room, you can step out your door at daybreak to watch as every morning the monks walk past for the Alms giving. The management & staff here are so friendly & helpful. The rooms have everything you could need with a private balcony at one side (although a fan would be a good addition for the balconies as there is not a lot of moving air on a hot day as its enclosed by the courtyard). The bathrooms are clean & great as well. We didn't find the streetside rooms noisy at all - Luang Prabang is a fairly quiet little place. The breakfasts are perfect in the idyllic garden/courtyard in middle of the hotel. They set you up nicely in the morning with an omelette, french toast or khao soi & a plate of fresh fruit. Do not miss their now famous baguette toast with the tamarind coconut jam enjoyed with their delicious coffee or smoked Lao tea! If you fancy some Western style food in the evenings or even just a few beers, Popolo is serving up some exceptional Italian food & pizzas next door too. Would highly recommend this hotel. 🙏

This was an okay hotel in a central area. My room was in the back building on the second floor. (The pool water feature is in serious need of a deep cleaning and has an obvious discoloration to it. Should be gray but was actually yellow.) The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The rooms in the back building were bright and light had wonderful large patios. Unfortunately, I had to take a twin because as a solo female traveler I choose to not stay on the first floor. TVs were a little on the small side. The food, which I had several times, as room service and in the dinner area was very good. There is a wide range of food selections. Unfortunately the breakfast offerings are extremely limited and it could be because the room only has about eight or nine tables and breakfast time it got extremely busy and became that you had to wait around for a table. The happy hour specials are extremely confusing to the bar staff as none of them seem to know how to make the specials that they offer. One night it was by one get one free and another night it was not. However they had no idea how to make the drink and it was different each time. Both yummy but different. The bathrooms are clean but the showers were needed a deep cleaning and has a strong odor so leave the fan running at all times and the door closed and it alleviate the smell. Myself and other people staying had this similar experiences. I will say that the shower water pressure was consistently inconsistent. The water pressure would drop and you could hear it and you had about 2 seconds to get out of the water otherwise you would have boiling hot water only. Cold would disappear for about 5 seconds and then you can go back into the water. So, consistently you would hear when to move. I heard from others that they too had similar experiences in their rooms in different buildings. I've had many many spa treatments over various hotels in different countries and I would say that as someone who has spa experiences I did not particularly enjoy mine but for others who aren't as familiar this might be very enjoyable.

A lovely room in a decent spot with friendly helpful staff. A note for vegans - there is almost nothing to eat in the breakfast buffet or a-la-carte menu. All there is is fruit, toast with jam, and a few salad items (lettuce, olives, cornichons) to choose from. We went and bought our own oat milk so we could at least have cereal. It's disappointing that in a huge buffet breakfast at such a nice hotel there are so few options for people who don't eat any animal products. Couldn't believe there wasn't even plant milk.

Additionally, there is a restaurant and coffee shop on-site. Travelers can take advantage of various amenities such as free parking, pet-friendly rooms, child care services, and cooking classes. The location of the guesthouse has received high praise from previous visitors for its convenience to nearby attractions.
Guesthouses, hotels look amazing here and Manichan is one of them with their cute look and excellent service. The room smells good. The location is perfect. Its situated in the neighborhood where has Mekong river, Morning Market, Night Market (also the street of Wat XiengThong, Wat May, Royal Palace and Phousi Hill) so it has everything within walking distance but still super quiet at night. I had a lot of requests and questions and the owner just helped me with everything (even making breakfast before the time for breakfast start). We had problem finding a rental bike too as there was a high demand for them and they helped me look for different rental places for a bike. Thank you so much Manichan, we had a wonderful stay.

The rooms are comfortable and the location really close to the morning market but still very quite is nice. The breakfast is quiet good and tea 24/7 is a nice extra. Our recent two-night stay here was simply delightful! From the moment we arrived, the reception staff( Joseph) a filpino can speak english were incredibly welcoming and helpful, providing us guide highlighting nearby restaurants and the bustling night market – which, thankfully, was within easy walking distance. The guesthouse itself was a tranquil oasis; the rooms were spotless and well-maintained, and the complimentary breakfast each morning was a delicious start to our day. The overall atmosphere was conducive to relaxation, allowing us to fully unwind and enjoy our time away. The easy access to both the night market and day market and various restaurants made it incredibly convenient, and the friendly staff truly made our stay extra special.

Twin rooms and double rooms are NOT the same, despite the insistence of the rude and dismissive owner of this guest house. Having booked two double rooms in March 2023, we were dismayed to arrive in late December and find that only 1 double room and 1 twin room was available. Rooms lack basic facilities and are much smaller than pictures online suggest. We left after one night to find suitable accommodation. The only positive comment is that the Laotian manager was helpful in facilitating our departure

Nice cosy room at the ground floor, good breakfast, lovely common patio (Café del Mundo), friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Early morning it can get noisy of traffic on its way to the market, passing by through the alley just behind the guesthouse. Of course this is depending on the room you’re staying in. Anyway, apart from that we had a great stay and would be happy to come back again.

I stayed here for several nights, and the owners were incredible! Not only were they helpful in booking activities, and giving great suggestions, but they went so far above and beyond. We enjoyed meals together, chatted quite a bit, and I had a lot of fun getting to know them. They're truly generous and caring people, and it was a blast to stay there. Finally, the room was super spacious and comfy, and the breakfast was fantastic (noodle soup was delicious)!

Definitely worth considering. Andy is a great host, very helpful, and from North America so he speaks fluent English. The rooms are nice and well kept, the tour options are perfectly adequate, and laundry and beverages are available for a fair price charged to your room. Also the location could hardly be beat. The free breakfast is excellent!

Wanted to like this place but it’s very hard to when Peter constantly couldn’t maintain respectful boundaries and act questionably around me when other guests are not around. Something for other solo female travellers to think about; please check online forums for the complete picture of this owner’s reputation. This is not this despicable gaslighter’s first rodeo. The guesthouse + location + cafe is good for the price. Otherwise, I regretfully won’t be coming here again, for my own safety. Reply: "I have thousands of good reviews, hence I must be a saint", you're really having fun hiding behind this fort. I would account inappropriately stroking my hair, my back, making comments about asking me to give you a foot massage, and touching my back (again) to 'adjust my straps' as disrespectful, not an 'innocent joke' and frankly, borderline SH. And no, I didn’t voluntarily walked into your room. You said your daughter sleeps there and INVITED me to see some kittens. That’s where you TOUCHED me and ASKED me to join your nap, remember you disgusting old rat? That room was hidden out of sight, and as a solo female traveller I wouldn’t rudely intrude someone’s living space unless I’m welcomed. Rewrite the narrative all you want, I hope people reading this can make their own decisions. My friend did return out of convenience after checking with me-- she could probably teach you a lesson if you were to attempt anything. Be better, Peter.

Villa Champa is a cozy and quiet small hotel in Luang Prabang, popular among families and budget travelers. The rooms are spacious with en suite showers, comfortable double beds, A/C, and a small balcony. Guests can enjoy a variety of breakfast options on the street patio. The staff is known for being very friendly, helpful, and fluent in English and Thai. They provide a warm welcome with drinks and fruits upon arrival.
We stayed for two weeks in a double room and had a great experience overall. The location was perfect — close to the main avenue and with plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was really good and filling. The only downside was that it wasn’t always consistent — sometimes a few options were missing. Having hot water, tea, and coffee available all day was definitely a nice bonus. The room was comfortable, and one thing we really appreciated was the shower setup: it had a proper divider, so the whole bathroom didn’t get wet. Also worth mentioning: the guy at the front desk was super kind and always helpful. We’d stay here again for sure, and definitely recommend it.
Martiniano J — Google review
This was by far the most disappointing guesthouse of our trip through Laos. The room was left untouched for our entire stay—no cleaning, no fresh towels, nothing. Noise was a constant issue; we could clearly hear our neighbors in their bathroom, making it impossible to relax. The breakfast was bad, with cold, leftover coffee and tasteless food. The real issue, however, was the staff. They offered to book train tickets for us, but completely neglected to follow through. When we reminded them the night before our trip, they nonchalantly admitted they’d forgotten, and of course, the train was fully booked by then. Their "solution" was to arrange a minivan to Vientiane, which they claimed would get us there by mid-afternoon. Instead, we were packed into a cramped van that left late and only arrived in the evening. What made it worse was how unprofessional and unpleasant the staff were, even laughing at us when we asked questions or tried to clarify details. This place was not only overpriced but an incredibly frustrating experience. I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

Tldr - bookings don't matter. Luang Prabang. I've spent seven months of the last three years in this town, a place I know intimately. The gilded streets, the gentle flow of the Mekong, the quiet grace of the people—it all feels like a second home. I've sent many friends and acquaintances here, often with a recommendation for a place I thought I could count on: Villa Champa. A week ago, my brother and I checked out of a twin room we'd occupied for eight nights. The plan was simple and straightforward: return a few days later and pick up right where we left off. We had a booking, a firm reservation for the same twin room. It's a small detail, but one that matters when you're traveling with your brother. Two beds. A small, but significant, buffer zone. We returned, bags in hand, ready for another stretch of riverside tranquility. But the front desk had other plans. The twin room, our room, had been given away. "No problem," they said, with a shrug that felt less like an apology and more like a dismissal. "You can have a double room." One bed. Two brothers. A level of intimacy we weren't looking for. This is the kind of short-sighted behaviour that makes you shake your head. A place that knows me, a place that knows I've sent them a steady stream of business, a place that knows I'm here in this town for a significant part of the year, chooses to give away a booked room rather than inconvenience a walk-in. It's a classic case of sacrificing the long-term relationship for a short-term gain. The Lao people have a beautiful phrase: baw pen nyang. It means "no worries," "no problem." A phrase of quiet acceptance, of rolling with the punches. In this case, baw pen nyang. There are plenty of other guesthouses in Luang Prabang, wonderful places run by people who understand the value of a booking and the loyalty of a repeat customer. Places that, unlike Villa Champa, won't leave you and your brother in a single bed, wondering what happened to the simple courtesy of a room reservation. From where I'm standing, Villa Champa gets one star out of five. And that single star is for the memories of the way things used to be.
B W — Google review
The room itself is good, the bed is comfortable and the room is large. But I really do not recommend sleeping here, it's very noisy in the mornings from road works and local children screaming at the reception. And the worst thing - during our entire stay there was a screeching noise that repeated itself for 10 minutes each time, it turns out that there was a problem with the water pump in the hotel so every time someone turned off the water the noise started. We wanted to change hotels but they did not agree to let us cancel the reservation and get a refund. All the mess is not worth the room or the location.

Paid in advance via agoda. They gave our room to a walk in customer and gave me and my brother a double bed to share. No thanks! Had to book an extra room across street
K W — Google review
The location is nice. Close to night market and phousi hill. The room is clean. But....... the owner is really rude. We checked in very late instead of normal check in time. So, we requested if she can offer late check out around 2 pm. But she yelled us at for no reason. This is the very first time experience in our lives for getting yelled by hostel owner. Without having a lot of guests as this is low season, she can be nicer at her customer service. We are not gonna stay nex time for sure
Thinzar M — Google review
Room was nice clean, breakfast was good, included drinks that so great in the price. Receptionist not at reception often :))
Lily D — Google review
We stayed 6 nights. Room was spacious with a little porch outside on the ground floor. The reception gentleman was friendly and accommodating. The bathroom had a separate shower. The floor was gritty when we arrived. The king-size bed was hard with a queen size blanket. The ceiling fan blew like a hurricane and the ac was spotty. Breakfast was meager but typical of other venues. I got food poisoning on the last morning which made our first day in Vang Vieng pretty crappy. If you stay here, do not rely on the front desk for any of the services that they promise they can help with. I got panicked looks everytime I asked about train tickets. Finally I booked on 12go. When our tickets were going to be delivered, no one was at the front desk, so my wife and I took turns waiting in the lobby. We asked for a taxi to the train station. The desk told me it would be $50 (we got there by private taxi for $10.50). I would not choose this hotel again.

Villa Senesouk is a budget-friendly accommodation option located in the bustling area near the temples. The rooms are simple and clean, with air conditioning available for a reasonable price. While communication in English or French may be challenging, the staff is friendly and accommodating. Its convenient location and good value make it a highly recommended choice for travelers looking to explore the area without breaking the bank.
You can taste Luang Phra Bang here. Convenient, just 5 minutes walk from night market.
NJuang J — Google review
The hotel’s location is super convenient, making it easy to reach all the attractions in Luang Prabang. I especially loved the friendly cats around and starting each morning with a bowl of noodle soup from the shop next door—it was one of the most delicious meals I had during my trip to Laos. However, if you’re a light sleeper, this might not be the best choice, as the preparations for the alms-giving ceremony begin around 5:30 AM and can be quite noisy.
Gia G — Google review
This place is ok but definitely in need of some TLC. Wooden surface showing signs of wear and tear. Also dust-laden horizontal surfaces indicating room cleaning is not thorough. Reception staff largely disinterested and largely preoccupied with whatever they were watching on the smartphones. Can't give this place any more than 2 stars.
Ed C — Google review
What a gem, couldn't be any better for location, perfect to view morning monks collecting Alma, quiet relaxed location with most things in easy walking distance .polite staff, lovely authentic rooms ,we got deluxe and it's lovely ,very happy and perfect pick for stay in luang prabang 🙏🏼really great noodle soup local shop for breakfast right next door .

Clean and a practical stay but only for one night. Some of the staff were completely useless because they really couldn't be bothered and wanted to watch the TV or their phone but one was very nice and kind. The staff also sleep on the floor in the main hall, beware on entering in the dark.
Flora C — Google review
Very nice rooms, really a boutique hotel. No restaurant but plenty walking distance.
Ingvar H — Google review
Horrible hotel, not worth the money! We have stayed all over Laos and SE Asia and this was one of the worst places by far, especially for the cost! Filthy moldy bathroom, huge wasp (think 3cm!) in the bathroom, only lukewarm water, spotty WiFi, ripped sheets, etc. No breakfast included. Staff was very lazy and when we asked about the water they said it was cold outside so no hot water. They refused to help us with WiFi and said it should be working so it must be all of our devices having the problem. Stay away and find somewhere else!
Mera G — Google review
Geckos everywhere inside the room... I couldn't sleepy neither relax. The room wasn't very clean (spider web and soap remnants of the previous guest)...

The Villa Suan Maak Guesthouse & The Kitchen Restaurant is a great place to stay in Luang Prabang. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is the best I've had in Laos, with a few different choices. The location is good too.
Amazing place to stay and great staff, very friendly! Great room, very clean with plenty of space. Location was pretty good also. The included breakfast was the best we have had in Laos, with a few different choices. Also used the laundry service which was really good, all clothes still the same size and smelt amazing! I would definitely stay again

Really enjoyed our stay here! I think it was a great location, free cold water, breakfast is amazing you get so much to fill you up for the day! Staff are super friendly also! Laundry service is really good! So impressed with this place and the service really made you feel at ease! Would defiantly recommend staying here!

Place is a bit far from town but still within walking distance. Room was rather small for double single beds. Basic necessities provided, including towel, hanger, hot shower and drinking water. They also provide housekeeping if u are staying more than a night. Drinking bar with mini games located along the walkway. Hearty breakfast included too!

Staff are super nice. Good vibe in the evening. The dogs here don't bother us. In fact, they are really sweet, and they eat veggies. It was a bit cold the day we were here, so it was rather quiet.
Anne — Google review
It is quite a Nice place. The staff/receptionist were not there when we arrived, so we had to sit for 45 min outside before she came back from whereever she went. Our room was Nice, a couple of lizards in there. The WiFi did'nt work the first 2 days and the aircon was not really strong enough to cope with the heat. But it was allright for the price we paid.
Nanna P — Google review
First of all, we went to the restaurant for a quick snack of fries after been ill. They firstly took ages to come. Secondly we were greeted by 3 dogs which I presume the restaurant own or new. Me and my partner love animals and are happy to always see dogs however these dogs were covered in fleas, which sat next our table. One of the dogs was dripping blood next to our table and through out the restaurant. To make matters worse, the next dogs started to mate next to us all while waiting for our food. We proceeded to move seats but they followed us to continue to beg, drip blood and mate. The owners did nothing about this and just watched with the occasional laugh and the odd gesture for the dogs to move. We stayed at the guesthouse next to this place and during our stay, was awoken by the same dogs several times at 3 am barking for an hour or so each night. Once again no body caring. If you want to run any successful business and restaurant, sort and treat your dogs or whoever’s dogs they’re correctly because it is disgusting and you are disturbing other customers in other guest houses by mistreating the dogs. Also the fries were poor.....

Impossible to sleep more than 2 hours because of the noise : rooster and chickens in this district are singing loudly all night long (this is not a joke : its very stressful). Impossible to close my eyes after 5pm. This is not a good place if you need silence to sleep. However bedrooms are ok. Except bathroom.
Cablan A — Google review
An average plus accommodation, with EXTREMELY SUPER NICE staff both in the hotel and the little restaurant /bar, where the meal is out of this world. Go for the green curry or the schnitzel!

Nestled a bit away from the bustling heart of Luang Prabang, Fan Dee Hotel stands out as a serene retreat for travelers seeking tranquility amidst nature. This charming hostel is perfect for those who enjoy leisurely strolls, as it’s located on the outskirts of town. With its lush garden ambiance, Fan Dee offers cozy accommodations that invite relaxation after a day of exploration.
I had an amazing stay in Fan Dee! People are lovely, the rooms are spacious and the beds super comfy and with a mosquito net. The best part is the fact that they really put an effort into sustainability and that you can hang around and swim by the river! The food portions are massive and there are veggie options too. Oh and you also get a lot of freebies like river cruises! Thank you ;)
Ana C — Google review
I had a wonderful stay at Fan Dee Hotel in Luang Prabang. The team gave us such a warm welcome and was always attentive and helpful. They offer a variety of great activities like boat tours and cooking classes, which really add to the experience. The setting is beautiful, right by the Mekong River and surrounded by nature, making it a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The food is excellent, and there are the cutest dogs around, which made everything even more enjoyable. A truly special place, highly recommended!

Really nice and relaxing place! Able to swim in the river anytime you want. The bed is comfortable and atomosphe of the hostel is really good as well! A bit far from the city center, but you get free ferry shuttle. And I enjoyed the small boat to town!!

Spent some time at Fan Dee Guesthouse and fell in love with the place. Really enjoyed the relaxing vibe and different areas to chill out by the river. Also the food was just amazing, as well as a free shuttle to City Center by boat 🤌🏻 Definitely would recommend to anyone who want to slow down a bit and feel real Laos.

We stayed more than a week in Fan Dee/Sa Sa Guesthouse and had an amazing time there! It is a very calm place near the Nam Khan river where you can take a swim and refresh! Rooms are always clean and tidy, the Wifi is working well and there is a big common area to hang out, eat and meet other people :-)

Wow. What an amazing stay! So real and relaxing, Fundee is like a beautiful oasis. Travelers from everywhere stay so you meet many amazing people, but collectively it has a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff are gorgeous people, a fun mix of mainly Lao and other international staff. The people here are very passionate and real about being a sustainable and eco friendly business. Not to mention, you will never be bored here. There is a free water taxi to the city center, a natural swimming pool (the river), plenty of spaces to stretch and do yoga, hammocks, a pool table, chess, a free sasa sunset cruise ticket, cooking classes, and more! The ladies in the kitchen are also very talented and I would eat just at the guesthouse everyday! Miss the food, definitely recommend the fresh spring rolls. I will forever cherish my two week stay at Fundee, thank you staff!

Nice place in good location. Had a large room with large balcony, lovely wooden floor, air conditioning worked, bed was comfortable. Bathroom old fashioned but everything worked. Breakfast was basic but the staff were all friendly and accommodating, helped with onward travel. If you want to stay in an old style guest house then this fits the bill.

Villa Lao Wooden House is a cozy guesthouse located just a short walk from the main street and the Night Market in Luang Prabang. With only 6 rooms, it offers a very intimate and family-run experience, with Mr. Vong being the friendly owner who goes out of his way to assist guests, including providing transportation services. The clean and well-designed rooms come with good hot showers, although there may be limited English-speaking staff available on-site.
Ok A.C. Great host, super helpful and very friendly. Great location, very beautiful part of town. They did my laundry for cheap, couldnt be much happier. Will stay again!
Jordan S — Google review
Cozy and clean place. Quiet, non-busy area within walking distance of everything you’d want. AC is good (choose lower floor as second floor has a taller ceiling therefore cools down much slower,) water pressure is amazing as is this hot water. Staff are nice but English is nonexistent. I’d happily stay again.
Ryan L — Google review
Quiet hotel set in a back street. Clean, nicely designed room. Clean bathroom with good hot shower. No views. Only thing was there wasn't any staff there while I was staying there, except for a caretaker who speaks very limited English. At check in, I pick up my room key that was left on the front desk in an envelop that shows my name. Very strange and might be inconvenient when you are in emergency.
N B — Google review
Spent 3 nights as a solo traveler at Villa Lao last weekend and had a very pleasant experience. Location: 3 min walk to the main street in Luang Prabang and a 5 min walk to the Night Market. Lodging: there are only 6 rooms in this guesthouse run by a family (owner is Mr. Vong) making it very cozy. The family is helpful and speak English extremely well; Mr. Vong also has a Toyota truck and can bring you to/from the airport & drive you outside the city (eg to the waterfalls). There's hot water and good water pressure in the room, towels are changed daily, breakfast comes with the room (choice of American or local pork noodle soup), and there are bicycles for daily rental. Only gripe is the bed - it's really firm. Manage expectations: don't expect 5 star luxury. This is very much a 3-star 'hotel', but does the job if you plan to be outside exploring most of the day.
