Hotel d'Europe is an elegant lodging housed in a historic mansion dating back to 1580, making it one of the oldest hotels in France. Located in the heart of Avignon, this luxury hotel offers views of Palais des Papes and is within walking distance of Pont d'Avignon. The property features antique-filled interiors alongside modern amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, concierge services, and a garden terrace.
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary,. It's right off the TGV in Avignon we stopped as we were heading south, we stayed one night and it was very romantic, very beautiful. The town is a gem and the hotel is as quaint and beautiful as you can imagine..

Disappointing Experience Despite a Charming Setting We stayed at Hotel Europe in Avignon for one night, from April 30th to May 1st. The hotel itself has undeniable charm—an elegant, old-style luxury with a lot of character. Our room was particularly spacious and included a cute little balcony. The location is also excellent: perfectly situated to explore Avignon on foot. However, our overall experience was unfortunately marred by a serious lack of consideration for guests’ comfort. We paid around €460 for the night, expecting a restful and high-end stay. Instead, on the morning of May 1st— a public holiday—we were woken up at 9 a.m. (possibly even earlier) by what can only be described as construction-site noise: loud banging, metal being cut, and heavy machinery sounds. When I opened the window, I could see that the noise was coming from some sort of renovation or construction work within the hotel itself. We eventually got up and decided to check out earlier than planned. During check-out, the receptionist politely asked how our stay had been, and I responded honestly, expressing that it was unacceptable to disturb guests with such intense noise at that hour, especially on a holiday morning. Her response was quite dismissive—she mentioned they were “installing mirrors or something like that”—and proceeded to charge me an additional €26.60 for the use of the parking without acknowledging the inconvenience we experienced. Let me be clear: this complaint is not about the money. It’s about manners and respect for the guest. When a customer points out that their sleep was disturbed by noise caused by the hotel itself, and particularly when that customer is staying at a so-called 5-star property and paying close to €500 per night, the very least you would expect is a gesture of goodwill. Waiving the parking fee or offering a token of apology would have been appropriate and professional. We chose this hotel hoping for a restful and luxurious experience. Instead, I left feeling disappointed and unrested. It’s a pity because the hotel really does have potential. But service matters just as much as style—and this was not the service one should expect from a 5-star establishment.

At Hotel d’Europe, you quickly realize the hype is absolutely deserved. The restaurant delivers an upscale yet approachable dining experience, where refinement never overshadows warmth. The atmosphere is elegant and historic, but never stiff — it feels like the perfect setting for a special meal that’s still inviting and comfortable. The cooking is precise and thoughtful, with dishes that showcase both creativity and classic technique. Service matches the setting: attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. In short, it’s a place where everything comes together seamlessly — food, ambiance, and hospitality — making for a meal that feels truly memorable.

Absolutely perfect 🤩 A place with a fabulous history (Napoleon, Hugo, Hemingway, Piaf…) and heritage a few steps away from the Popes Castle of Avignon. The gastronomic restaurant is a must go to enjoy one of the most refined cuisine in town!! The private and quiet courtyard under the trees is a true gift in the heart of summer, charmed by the delicate sound of the fountain. Some well deserved refreshing peace amid the heat of town…
Beauvais J — Google review
This hotel was built in the 1600s and has a beautiful, welcoming courtyard and offered us excellent service at the front desk and from the valets. We had a superior room, which opened to a quaint courtyard and balcony with seating area. At night we had drinks in the common area but didn’t not try any of the food options. Air conditioning was superb and provided a respite from the warm Provençal sun. My only criticism was that the room was a tiny bit shabby and would benefit from a refurbishing.

Hotel Cloitre Saint Louis is a luxurious retreat located in the heart of Avignon, offering upscale rooms in a 16th-century Jesuit school building. The hotel boasts a private garden, an outdoor pool, and a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city. Its historical courtyard is available for events such as wedding receptions and conferences. The vibrant and stylish rooms are designed by renowned interior designer India Mahdavi, providing guests with comfort and character.
Great place to stay. It is a very beautiful place (supposed to be a school in the old days). The rooms are huge. Maybe they were dorms before? 🤣 The hall and the garden are stunning as well. They serve breakfast and they are alright. They have a very convenient parking (need to pay for overnight parking). The location is fine and make sure if you have heavy luggage, see if you can ask for a room that doesn’t need to walk stairs. Cos most of them need to. Great place, beautiful architecture.
Brian Y — Google review
The setting of the hotel is superb – peaceful, full of history, and with incredible potential! The staff are very friendly and helpful, which makes the stay all the more pleasant. However, the rooms, while clean, feel quite outdated and are in serious need of renovation. The comfort and amenities fall short of expectations, especially given the charm of the surroundings. Important note: if you're taller than 6'1" (1.85m), expect difficulties getting into the shower or even using the toilet, as the spaces are extremely cramped. This hotel could truly be outstanding. For now, it’s just about adequate – which is unfortunate, especially since even the staff seem aware of the issues.

I absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Cloître Saint-Louis in Avignon. The building itself is so unique and historic, which made the experience even more special. We lucked out and got a very unusual room—almost like staying in a tower—with fantastic views of the courtyard and rooftops surrounding the hotel. We had zero issues with water pressure, noise, or internet, which made for a comfortable stay. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful throughout. Breakfast was good, a typical hotel buffet, and the location couldn’t have been better—just a short walk to restaurants, museums, and cultural attractions. A truly memorable place to stay in Avignon!

This is a beautiful hotel. It was a privilege to stay in such a historic building. The upkeep required should not be underestimated. The price was most reasonable for such a place. The bed very comfortable. We had a superior room overlooking the lovely courtyard. The hotel is near to all points of interest. The staff were gracious and helpful.Yoann helped us with our bags when we arrived which was greatly appreciate. I recommend this hotel 100%]

Disappointing stay at this 4 star rated hotel. My friends and I booked this hotel for a 6 night stay after reading an excellent review and article in ‘The Daily Telegraph’. While there is no question that the hotel is in a beautiful building (albeit in need of some restoration), the services are sadly lacking and the staff attitude somewhat defensive, to put it politely. Daily housekeeping was cursory, the kettle in the room did not work properly and there was a constantly dripping tap in the toilet. The hotel provide one tea bag (Earl Grey only, so if you don’t like Earl Grey I suggest you take your own tea) and 2 small sachets of instant coffee per day in the room and offer a ‘present’ of one small bottle of water in the fridge on arrival. No milk, no biscuits, no other little treats that you might expect of a decent 4 star hotel. The breakfast is all self-service but is fairly good, though, as in most hotels, the hot food (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages) is not very hot. The hotel is centrally located, a definite plus. But there was a dead rat left at the hotel entrance for 4 days and it was not until my friend suggested to reception that public health authorities should be advised that anything was done about it. Also the central courtyard was full of leaves and was not swept once during our stay which rather spoilt the hotel aspect. We didn’t use the hotel pool so can’t comment on that facility. All in all I would say this is an over rated and definitely overpriced hotel with no clear leadership from management (there was apparently no hotel manager or deputy manager on site for 3 days when we arrived) as to what is expected of this standard of hotel. It also felt that the hotel was understaffed and those that worked there had no pride or joy in their job, with a few exceptions. I would not stay there again and would not recommend it.
Lynne — Google review
Disappointing superior hotel room for a 4* ranking. Carpet is yucky! We had issues with smell of marijuana coming into our room… Shower is poorly maintained. Almost no water pressure &, hot water, once in a while. Too bad about the room, because the property itself is beautiful. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Would not stay here again.
Monica T — Google review
4 star hotel? the building is beautiful.. the way they put the rooms and furniture looks like a bad choke.. no style for this old building. Room for EUR 200 not worth at all... poor installation, internet is nearly not existing (so bad you will not any get it in 3rd world contries).. incredible for 4 stars.. Parking for 23 EUR outside not inside parking (really?)... at all really not worth a recommendation...

Hotel de l'Horloge is a 19th-century property located in the heart of Avignon, offering warmly furnished rooms with some featuring terraces. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi and is conveniently situated near Rue de la Republique and Place de l'Horloge. With its central location, guests have easy access to the city's main attractions. The hotel offers modern and comfortable rooms decorated in warm tones, some with private terraces.
Superb location for this quaint hotel. The room was beautiful and cosy, the staff was kind, and the breakfasts are great. You can walk all around in nice little streets and discover wonderful restaurants nearby. It is a very nice place to stay, affordable, if you are in Avignon and want to visit the vineyards around. Thank you to the team for a nice stay!

Right on the main square. Beautiful old building with unique room configurations. Modern amenities and a cute breakfast area off the main lobby that looks like an arboretum. Walking distance to attractions. I would stay there again and recommend it for short stays while traveling. Only downside is no car parking at the hotel although you can drive up, drop your bags and parking is just a 5 minute walk away.
Kathy B — Google review
Extremely disappointed with Hôtel de l’Horloge. We had to cancel our reservation 1.5 days in advance due to circumstances completely out of our control. Our rental car was unexpectedly cancelled, trains were fully booked, and we were left stranded with our 7-month-old baby. I contacted the hotel immediately, explained everything, and asked if they could show some flexibility, as this was only meant to be a short stopover on our way to a wedding. Since there were no available tickets via Avignon, we had no choice but to take a different route. Their response came two days later, by which time it was very clear they had chosen profit over compassion. Booking.com showed goodwill and refunded our car rental, understanding that these situations can happen, especially when traveling with a small baby. Hôtel de l’Horloge, however, chose greed.
May I — Google review
I had some trouble during my trip when my rental car broke down, and I found it very difficult to communicate because of the language barrier. I was really in a tough situation, but the hotel staff went out of their way to help me as if it were their own problem. Their kindness and dedication truly touched my heart. Thanks to their wonderful help, everything was sorted out smoothly, and I was able to enjoy the rest of my trip. I’m deeply grateful to all the staff and wish the hotel continued success. I’ll definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Avignon!
Shihyun A — Google review
It's perfectly at heart of the inner town. We enjoyed start our morning at the terrace which is directly above the historic street. The room is cozy and the crews are nice and helpful. The only drawback is, there's one night being a bit noisy (we are at French 1st Floor). Probably because of the Avignon festival;)
Leon J — Google review
We had a room overlooking the square and it was very pretty and quiet thanks to excellent air conditioning. Beds perfect for me with medium firm supportive mattress. The breakfast was high quality, better than some 5 star hotels, I particularly enjoyed the pain au chocolat which were warm and rich. Staff friendly and made an effort with guests from all over the world.

Auberge de Cassagne & Spa is a luxurious five-star hotel located just outside Avignon, in the commune of Le Pontet. Set in an 1850 farmstead, this classic French country house offers charming and spacious rooms and suites adorned with floral prints and pastel shades. The hotel features a fine-dining restaurant helmed by Chef Philippe Boucher, serving gourmet Provencal cuisine alongside an impressive selection of wines.
We stayed at this beautiful property for two nights. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Spa facility was nice, open till 1 am each day. I was able to enjoy the indoor pool and hot tube at 10 PM with my teenage son after a day at Avignon. Hotel room was very nice with high ceiling and very effective air conditioner. I even got a beautiful rose in my room! Hotel breakfast was very good too with high quality local food and a fresh orange juice machine. I would recommend this place.
Yi C — Google review
I’m really shocked at how this hotel has a 4.6 review and maybe I completely missed something but I feel like I’m being quite generous with a 1 star rating. The rooms are a bit old and tired and nothing in them screams “5 star”. We were fresh off a stay at another SLH hotel location in Barcelona which was fantastic and truly a 5 star experience with friendly and helpful staff and great rooms. This location is like a €100 hotels.com pick. The “complimentary water” was a cheap plastic bottle and the in room coffee wouldn’t even be fitting for a Best Western. At breakfast, we had a juice spill on the table. Not one staff member offered to help, or even a napkin. They’re completely disengaged. Additionally, the location isn’t convenient to anything and the outside of the building, and neighborhood, were not exactly impressive. The cherry on top was them trying to charge me for an extra breakfast for my 2 year old who ate a croissant. This property is not deserving to be within the SLH property group with Hilton and is a poor representation of the Hilton brand.
Kevin H — Google review
Stayed here for three nights on our honeymoon and had wonderful time. The food is exceptional, as was the service. I loved the gardens and the pool was the perfect temperature (I hate cold pools - but this one was really easy to get into).
Sarah D — Google review
This hotel was a pleasant experience. It is definitely not worth the price that we paid but it was not a bad hotel. The rooms were very nice, standard size for what I would expect in Europe. The shower and bath were nice and we used both. It was cold so we didn't use the outdoor pool, but the indoor pool, hot tub and spa were nice. Breakfast was a disappointment after our stay at a different SLH location in Narbonne but was acceptable. The negatives are room layout vs office location and how to get to the breakfast area. We initially kind of got lost trying to find the breakfast area the first day. The paths are not flat, they are natural rock paths which made rolling luggage difficult. Only one restaurant and it's very expensive. The location itself is fine and felt safe, but it is not a hotel to book if you want to Uber from the airport and plan to walk everywhere. We read this on other reviews and we had a rental car because our main plan was visiting tasting rooms in Gigondas and Chateauneuf de Pape so it didn't cause us any issues.
Billy B — Google review
We stayed in this lovely hotel in July and this was a pretty nice stay . The «plats» were awesome , the reception was fine enough plus the bagagiste from Russia helped us a lot . Thanks a lot
Леало В — Google review
A very cute country hotel. Would prefer if the very Provençal exterior was melded with a more modern interior but did not ruin our stay. Beware that the hotel charges things to your room in error (I’m going it’s an error and not theft!) all the time. They charged us for breakfast every day which we did not have, and charged us twice for our laundry. Similar happened to the friends we were with on the breakfast.
Paula F — Google review
What a gem this place is. My husband and I are still gushing over how lovely it was. The pictures and description on the website are so glowing, I honestly braced myself to not be disappointed (as that has happened before). From the moment we walked in the lobby, til the moment we left, I felt like we were in paradise. Our room was beautiful, even lovelier in person. The private terrace was so peaceful, after we left, we somewhat regretted not staying a few extra days and doing nothing. The food is excellent too. I didn’t have time to try out the spa. Le Pontet is about 15 minutes drive by Uber to Avignon. We found this very easy. The hotel also has parking if you’d rather rent a car. I think it’s the perfect way to be close to the action and enjoy some quiet time. You won’t be disappointed.

Hotel De Cambis, Bw Premier Collection is an elegant boutique hotel located in a historic building just a short walk from Avignon's main attractions. The rooms are beautifully designed with colorful decor and offer modern amenities, spacious bathrooms, and ample closet space. Some rooms even feature balconies or fireplaces. Guests can enjoy regional Rhone wines at the on-site wine bar before exploring the town. The hotel also boasts a restaurant and storage for belongings.
What a lovely hotel cosy , clean with a perfect location We had a nice warm welcome from the receptionist Angele who gave us some lovely tips for visiting the area The hotel is very clean , the rooms are nice and nicely decorated . Breakfast is good and offers a lot of choices The manager , Deborah , was nice and smiling. Our stay was just a very experience I would recommend with no hesitation

Perfectly located hotel, you can walk to all the top attractions within minutes. Very kind and knowledgeable manager and staff. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious with large flor to ceiling windows in the room we stayed. One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in!
Vax B — Google review
Very nice and clean hotel, beautifully decorated. There’s a bar at the reception with comfortable chairs. The hotel is air-conditioned and very comfortable in the hot summers. The bed is comfortable. Everything is super clean. The breakfast room is on the second floor overlooking a beautiful historic street with fabulous architecture. Next to the breakfast room there is a lounge with tables and sofas and elegant furniture where you can either work or just hang out. They have a small (European-sized) elevator. Bathroom smells nice. Breakfast is decent but not mind-blowing (considering the price of the breakfast). They have fast WiFi (even good for videoconferencing). The only downside is perhaps that the space between the door and the hallway floor is quite large so if the cleaning staff are in the hallway you can hear them quite well. I suggest the hotel add sound buffer materials at the bottom of each door. Overall the best thing about this hotel is that it’s right in the center of Avignon and within walking distance to pretty much anything; despite this, we had a quiet room facing some inner courtyard and we didn’t hear any street noises. Next time we come back to Avignon, we will book this hotel again (but probably not the breakfast).

My stay at Hotel de Cambis was truly a unique experience in a place that has a real soul. The staff was attentive to every detail and made sure all my wishes were taken care of. I enjoyed excellent wine at the bar with my friends, and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and gave me the rest I needed. The location allowed me to walk everywhere easily, and parking my car was simple. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff who made my stay so pleasant and unforgettable.

Excellent hotel within the walls of Avignon and not too far from the train station. Characterful, well maintained building with friendly helpful staff and a small lounge/bar area close to reception. I would defiantly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Avignon.
Robert R — Google review
Very comfortable room and above all bed. Great location, but if coming with a car you must ask for specific instructions on how to drop off your luggage as this is a pedestrian area and you cannot follow GPS to address. You must come in a different way. Be sure to ask hotel. This clear instruction was not given to us until after we arrived by driving down a one way street.
Rita L — Google review
Hotel De Cambis, BW in Avignon, is an outstanding choice and truly a remarkable hotel. The rates are very reasonable, and the room was clean and comfortable. The warm welcome we received at reception rivaled that of a five-star hotel. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and were instrumental in securing dinner reservations for us. The location is perfect. Just a short walk from the Avignon Centre station and the river cruise dock Les Grands Bateaux de Provence - Croisières Mireio. Breakfast was plentiful and came with a cheerful "Bonjour" from the staff. This hotel was an incredible find and a perfect haven during our travels.

La Divine Comédie is an upscale boutique bed and breakfast located in Avignon, France. It offers a storied mansion with genteel suites, an outdoor pool, a spa, and views of the Palais des Papes. The property boasts the largest private garden in Avignon with mature trees and lush palms, providing a tranquil setting for guests to relax.
Stay in a palace/bed&breakfast, in a large and secluded garden in the center of Avignon. Within walking distance of all attractions, restaurants, and shops, the house boasts five elegant suites, each individually designed. A delicious and generous breakfast is served in the garden dining room in winter, and outdoors, poolside in summer. The staff is attentive but unobtrusive.
Teri D — Google review
Eclectic aesthetics! I love how secluded you could feel staying here yet 5 min walk away you can already reach the busy streets and the Pape’s palace. Service is good, room is clean, and I love the garden area and the beautiful landscape. If you expect the service that of a five star big hotel, it’s not here. But if you appreciate the 5-room only privacy and a good service that’s not intrusive, you’ll find it here
Serena L — Google review
We only stayed one night at La Divine Comedie but we made the most of it! Tom and Dorian were both amazingly welcoming, giving us interesting info on the house and making recommendations and ensuring our comfort. They both made the stay special with their above and beyond service. The house and gardens are just breathtaking and in room massages were a treat. You pay more here and you do get more.

This is a long overdue review for a phenomenal stay at the Divine Comedy, but my phone recently served me up a number of photos that allowed me to imagine I was once again resting by the pool at the Divine Comedy, in what feels like a garden oasis, but is in fact right in the middle of Avignon. My wife and I stayed here this past summer during the Avignon theatre festival and we couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful and charming stay touched off by the property having such a lovely and pleasant team. We enjoyed a great breakfast in the gardens before heading out to see shows and explore the city during the day, until we were in need of an afternoon swim to revitalize us. Can’t wait to be back in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I had a delightful stay at this charming house in March '24, which was low season but nevertheless, all rooms were occupied. The house was warm, cozy and totally charming with many unusual features and artefacts. Dorian the Manager was very helpful and friendly. The floors are a bit creaky which is fine for such an old house but some inconsiderate people in the room above me walked around with hard shoes and woke me at 2am! Breakfast was wonderful and fresh and the garden spectacular. I will definitely return. Parking available - make sure you get clear directions before you go, as the streets of Avignon are very confusing. Hope this is helpful DW

One of the most special places we have ever stayed!! It is so romantic and serene. A hidden surprise behind a huge door with gorgeous sprawling gardens, curious and romantic decorations, and kind staff. We stayed in the yellow room and had views of the pope’s castle and gardens. The room is huge with all the amenities. It was very quiet and a true delight to stay here. We wish we could live here!! Highly recommend if wanting a special stay in Avignon.

The most magical place in Avignon! The hotel is beautiful, both interior and exterior. The breakfast is fresh, delicious and perfect start to the day! The team, especially Maxence, was so accommodating! The pool spa is a must, very relaxing! Be sure to reserve it! The rooms were very comfortable and equipped with nice linens and toiletries. The rooms have air conditioning but opening the windows to get a breeze was even better. This house was the highlight of our trip. It’s a quiet hidden oasis in the center of Avignon. You can walk everywhere. My daughter loved greeting the dogs everyday. Every aspect of the stay made you feel as though you were at home. Look no further and stay here as you won’t regret it! Thanks for a lovely Birthday and Mother’s Day vacation!

One of the prettiest places we have ever stayed - loved how it was tucked away in Avignon behind a large door. Had no idea what we were talking into, and the gardens around it were just the beginning. It is beautifully landscaped and decorated with a romantic and whimsical touch. A true gem of a place that we will definitely come back to in the future. We stayed in the yellow room and loved the view of the gardens plus pope’s castle. Highly recommend!!

Mas de Capelou is a charming guesthouse located in a beautifully restored 17th-century Provencal farmhouse just outside of Avignon. This tranquil retreat offers B&B accommodation and features a seasonal outdoor pool, terrace, and gardens for guests to enjoy. Each guest room is uniquely decorated and equipped with a private bathroom. The peaceful setting on the island of Barthelasse provides an escape from the city while still being conveniently connected to Avignon's cultural attractions and restaurants.
I don’t often write reviews and would like to share this because so very good. Valerie has created a paradise of tranquility, style and cleanliness with a beautiful garden, pool and restaurant on site; and close to Avignon. I recommend very highly.

The hotel is beautiful. The owner is very nice . The restaurant is perfect but we made a mistake booking ,The suite Capeline . It is NOT a room for 4 adults. It is perfect for a family with KIDS. The second room , very uncomfortable , too small.

The rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast is Provençal and the restaurant is well-run with tapas in an African setting. A lovely pool and many hidden ‘caves’ makes the nice garden with fruit trees and beautiful flowers complete. Thanks for a very nice week at this estate near Avignon 🤗

Loved our stay at Mas Capelou. We rented a 2 bedroom suite which was perfect for us. Well decorated, manicured grounds, heated pool, onsite restaurant, honor system bar by the pool stocked with wine, drinks, chips etc. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. We visted around avivnon during the day and relaxed in the evenings at this restful location. We were glad we found this hidden gem and would definitely recommend.

Just a stone throw away from Avignon city centre, this BEAUTIFUL Mas is nestled in a lush greenery. We stayed in the Suite and it was very clean. All the amenities were provided. The croissant at breakfast was to die for. Highly recommended!

Charming. Fun. Impeccably appointed. Comfy bed. Super yummy breakfast. It's a little off the beaten track - about 4km from Avignon - but that's what makes this farm b&b and gorgeous restaurant so great. Valerie and Jules are superb hosts. Loved this place. Highly recommended!

Absolutely phenomenal place - it’s beautiful, calm and so much relaxing. Rooms are great - very clean and comfortable. The owner and the staff were really nice and helpful. Hotel is located on the Barthelasse island - it is just 10 min by car to Avignon whilst being really secluded. Will go there again for sure.

Hôtel Le Prieuré Baumanière 5 étoiles Relais & Châteaux is a tranquil oasis in the picturesque town of Villeneuve-les-Avignon, just across the Rhone river from Avignon. This 14th-century priory has been renovated to offer contemporary rooms with free WiFi and air conditioning. The hotel features a lovely garden, tennis court, and an outdoor pool.
A beautiful hotel, if somewhat poorly decorated rooms. I agree with other reviewers that the rooms are very spacious and I was pleasantly surprised to have a terrace off my standard room, but some of the decor elements are very out of place, especially the lighting. The staff was very agreeable and the breakfast was excellent. The location is perfect and is proximate to what I found to be the best attractions in Avignon. The construction next door did damper the tranquility of the property, unfortunately.

My wife and I loved this place. Charming, beautiful grounds. Warm, friendly service. We loved hanging out on the hotel grounds. Staff helped us carry bags every step of the way. Convenient parking. If I could offer the hotel one bit of of advice it would be to make the showers / tubs have a barrier (wall or curtain) so water doesn’t get all over the floor — which it can all too easily, even if you’re careful. Besides that — only good things to say. We wish we’d booked another night or 2 (we stayed 3).

Wonderful, beautifully situated hotel. We stayed for 4 nights in mid' September. As with all great hotels, the staff make the difference. We had some issues with our car on arrival, Phillipe at reception was super helpful, providing immediate and ongoing help to sort out the situation during our stay. Great that we were met in the hotel car park on arrival and our bags taken to the room. All staff were friendly and courteous and all restaurant recommendations for dining in Villeneuve-les Avignon were excellent.

We normally go straight to our house rental after flying in from New York City, but this year we arrived a few days early so we could visit the Saturday brocante in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. We stayed at Le Prieuré and it was a lovely experience. The hotel has friendly staff, a nice pool, and beautiful grounds. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant this time as we were looking for something more casual, but the restaurant looked excellent. The concierge recommended a nearby place that was a few minuteswalking, which turned out to be exactly what we wanted. If you are visiting Avignon, staying in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon at Le Prieuré is a great option. We hope to return in the future.

This is decidedly not a five-star hotel. If paying luxury prices for a glorified retirement home with delusions of grandeur appeals to you, then book your stay immediately. Genuinely baffled by this establishment’s high ratings. The staff radiate the enthusiasm of people counting down to their next break, management barks orders at subordinates in full view of guests, and phone-scrolling appears to be a primary job requirement. The breakfast manager deserves special mention for achieving remarkable levels of both unhelpfulness and visible misery. During our final day, housekeeping apparently forgot we existed. We made a pilgrimage to reception for toilet paper and waited an hour at the bar for a single drink. Speaking of their bar: with exceptional restaurants like La Cabane and Flo’s only a few steps away, it’s worth noting that a bottle of wine at these superior establishments costs the same as one glass at Le Prieuré (and arrives before you’ve fallen asleep). We splurged on a suite for three nights. Management never bothered with introductions, our room was cleaned exactly once, and our bill featured several creative additions (including a €6 apple juice for our toddler that exists only in the hotel’s imagination). If you’re going to parade around with five stars, perhaps consider actually earning them. A four-star rating would at least offer guests the pleasant surprise of exceeded expectations rather than the current disappointment. We won’t be returning, though the town itself is lovely and deserves a hotel worthy of its charm. *edited to add this is mostly a management issue. The staff on the ground is quite nice. Management needs replacement.

Well, nothing to say except book a room here and you'll be proud of your decision. Great spacious rooms. Too spacious for Europe. Amazing pool, breakfast, grounds and free parking. But the highlight has to be the area around. More charming than the crowded historic Avignon. Cute shops and restaurants around.
Kits V — Google review
It’s nice and has a lively pool and garden surroundings. It’s basically like any other French hotel. Staff are casual and laid back. On the surface it looks clean and well managed. Stay a night or 2 and it all unravels to not the best stay. Rooms are cluttered dusty and hospitality staff average.
Ian H — Google review
Our stay at le Prieure was outstanding. It was our first stop in Provence and it did not disappoint. The staff were extremely helpful and responsive to our questions about the hotel and its surroundings. The suite was clean and roomy for the 3 of us and overlooked the beautiful garden and pool. The town was so charming and had a great bakery and spots to eat within walking distance. If they weren’t sold out we would’ve stayed more than our 3 nights. We would definitely come back to this hotel.

The Avignon Grand Hôtel is a bright and airy accommodation option in the heart of Avignon. The hotel offers a range of rooms and suites, all equipped with free Wi-Fi. Guests can opt for breakfast and take advantage of the outdoor pool during their stay. Despite its convenient location, some guests have reported issues such as mosquito infestations in their rooms, which were not adequately addressed by the staff.
This was steps from the central train station and walking distance to all the important Avignon restaurants and sites. We got a two room suite with TV in bedroom and living room. THe bed was superbly comfortable and the towels were luxurious and big. My husband got his shower and I got a lovely bathtub. Everything about the hotel is amazing. We did not have the breakfast because we just weren't hungry enough for that lavish spread but we should have! Fabulous in every way!!

The room had a strong smell of mildew/mold which was almost unbearable. We brought scents to distract from it, but I would never stay here again. Also, the carpets were stains, the shower had mildew all over, and the bathrooms were not entirely clean. The rooms on the front of the hotel were also noisy
Sarah C — Google review
First of all, this is most definitely NOT a 4-star hotel. Some rooms will only have portable A/C that requires that you leave the balcony doors/window wide open throughout the night if you want cool air, not to mention bringing in hot air, dust, and mosquitoes. The hallways are damp and smell musty, the furnitures are very worn down and the breakfast is one of the worst I've seen - worse than Holiday Inns I've been to in the U.S. While there are some employees that are competent and professional, a vast majority of the employees (including the cleaning staff in particular) would not even say hello when you pass by them and your eyes meet (or even when you say hello first). In fact, they actually yelled at my father for going into his own room for trying to retrieve something he left inside - he hadn't checked out at that point and literally went back in 5 minutes after he left. Amenities are 2- or 3-star level in U.S. standards, and again no A/C near or in the bathrooms. Filled water bottles are only complimentary upon check-in, and not provided on a daily basis like you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. If you're using their family suite, be warned that a majority of these rooms seem to be two-floor units and you don't have a choice as to whether you get one with or without the stairs. We were on a family trip where two of the family members happened to have foot injuries - while they switched one of the rooms, they refused to make any accommodations for the second room. The stairs themselves are poorly secured to the wall and present a safety hazard. Two people ended up sleeping on the couch because we couldn't access the second floor with ease. Plus, if you have suitcases you will never be able to bring them upstairs, foot injury or not. Location-wise, this is next to the train station so it could be convenient for some, but it's not very close to the Avignon old city center. All in all, I would highly discourage any of my friends from staying at this hotel. The hardship/fatigue we experienced during our stay here had a lasting effect on the rest of our trip and honestly ruined Avignon for me. Not sure if I'd ever come back, but even if I do, I'll be sure to rule this one out.
Janice K — Google review
Went on a family vacation. Do make sure not to request a duplex “suite”. As you can see, if you want AC, this is the state of the room on the second floor of the suite. Windows wide open for AC to operate. Definitely not a 4 star. We also mentioned we had injured individuals that cannot use the second floor, and was told they had no rooms so deal with it essentially. Note that we stayed 3 days there… not even an offer to switch during any of the days. The staircases were rattling and squeaking (see video) for reference. Location was excellent. If you want a place that is close but outside the walls of Avignon and a nearby parking area, go for it. Personally don’t feel the price and hotel rating is justified.
Peter C — Google review
The room was very spacious and clean. Larger than any others we encountered in France. On the night we stayed, it was very hot and the portable A/C struggled to keep the room cool. Otherwise, a great place to stay.

++ The room was large and clean Staff was friendly and helpful (great suggestions on restaurants, bars, city areas to visit, sights) The parking is next door - very convenient The hotel location is amazing, just outside the city walls, very close to the railway station, walking distance to the centre and city sights, very convenient Wifi super Breakfast quite satisfactory — Rooms are a bit dated, could use a renovation We stayed in a superior double room with a garden view - not much of a garden view really and the chairs and table in the garden were quite dirty

Hôtel Le Bristol Avignon is a modern property offering well-maintained rooms and suites equipped with minibars and cable TV. Situated within the ramparts in the center of Avignon, this 4-star hotel provides air-conditioned accommodations, a bar, free WiFi, and a shared lounge. Despite some mixed reviews about the front desk staff, many guests praise the hotel for its excellent location on the main street of Avignon and its affordable rates.
The location is perfect—very close to the station and major attractions. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely friendly, and the hotel offers 24/7 service. The room was very clean, and the toilet was separate from the bathroom, which was convenient. There was no refrigerator in the room, but the simple breakfast was quite nice. Overall, a simple yet comfortable hotel—perfect for a short stay during a trip to Avignon!

My room was very small, with no space to open my suitcase. I had to push the bed to open it. There was no minibar and it was very dark. The bathroom was separate from the shower, which was behind the front door. Both were very small. My room didn't have an electronic key, unlike the others. I didn't have room service on the second day because they forgot, and I was left with wet towels. My experience was very bad and I wouldn't go back.

We stayed in this hotel for several nights - and returned for a couple more following a trip to the French Riviera. The rooms were clean and well serviced - and ours was very peaceful on both our stays. This Hotel is extremely well located with a walk of only a couple of hundred metres to both the Avignon SNCF Gare and the PEM Routiere bus station - which services numerous locations and towns of interest - so easy! It is also close to bus access to the Avignon TGV. The biggest highlight of this hotel for us was the friendly and accommodating staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free. This is a terrific and extremely convenient hotel to stay at during a trip to Avignon and this part of Provence. Highly recommended - we will certainly stay here again when we visit.
David G — Google review
The location is nice as it is close to all the major sites in Avignon and is easily accessible by any form of transportation. However, the soundproofing in the walls proves inadequate as you can hear people from other rooms taking a shower. At night, the lights in the hallways are motion activated, but they are bad at sensing when people are there. When you want to go to another family member's room or you want to go out on a walk at night, you have to wander around in a dark hallway and hope you don't fall on the inappropriately placed stairs. The rooms are also inaccessible to people with weaker bodies such as old people or people with disabilites as the elevators do not reach all the rooms and often times after using the elevator you still need to go up some stairs to get to their room. The breakfast tasted delicious and would've been easily very enjoyable had the staff not been so rude. When asked if they could refill the sausages when it had been finished, they dismissed the request immediately. They said they didn'thave any more left, come to find out they already had some cooked and just refused to bring them out. When they finally did bring them out, the staff kept staring and pointing at us as if we had done something wrong. Overall, the hotel was very unwelcoming and I would recommend looking for other hotels around the area.

Excellent boutique hotel in the heart of Avignon! My family stayed here during the Festival d'Avignon, and it was so nice to be in a prime location. I studied abroad in Avignon and know the city well, so I was thrilled to be in such a fantastic location. Frederic is a friendly and helpful host, and the rooms were very clean and had lots of boutique charm. We needed two rooms to fit our family and we liked how each room had its own unique decor. Finally, my two daughters loved visiting with Frederic's cats whenever they were sunbathing in the lobby. They are very friendly and helped ease their homesickness for our own cats back in the States. If you're looking for great service and an authentic Avignon experience stay here!

Great location when being in Avignon. The hotel could need some touch up’s where it feels a bit dated, which goes both for the rooms and the general areas. The service is outstanding though, the owner is extremely helpful, service-minded and makes you feel at home. Overall a great stay!

This is a very good place to stay. Perfectly located a few minutes walk from the railway station and easy to find, it’s close to all the main sights, restaurants etc of central Avignon. The owner is welcoming and so helpful. He illustrated a map with a very clear plan for how we should spend a very short time in the city and it proved perfect. Yes, you may have to lug your cases up a few flights of stairs but our room was clean with an excellent spacious bathroom. Breakfast was modest but fine.

Stopped here for two nights as I toured the area. Hotel was inexpensive but the room was a little small and didn't feel that clean. The manager let me keep my luggage while I was walking around before I went on my train. Location is slightly further than some other options but still good enough to the sights in the city. Room got a little loud during the evenings since there's a bar next door.

My daughter and I just visited this magnificent bed and breakfast a week ago, April 2025. The hosts greeted us with tremendous warmth and were sure to provide us with wonderful tips on what to see in the area. Olivier even set up a tour for us which was delightful. We stayed in the suite which was very large and well appointed. The gardens are so well loved and provided a needed respit after a long day of sight seeing. I highly recommend and hope to return.

If I could give a 10 for the service that still would not be enough as Olivier and Laurence were such wonderful hosts. They helped us with orientation on our arrival and provided a great list of recommendations when we booked our stay to help with planning our short stay in Avignon. The location was central to everything but on a quiet street to get away from the crowds. The building and rooms were a great mix of old and new with art adorning the walls. The garden and pool are a great spot to relax We would love to stay with them again if we return to Avignon.

I highly recommend staying here if you find yourself planning a trip to Avignon. Oliver gave us a very warm welcome, provided refreshments as he sat with us to give information about Avignon and a tour of the grounds & our room. This was the perfect place to end our trip to France. There is a book of information for dinning, tours, etc.. anything you need to plan a perfect trip in this beautiful city. You can see the love and care that the owners have put into the gardens and house, and they are very happy to share it with guests. Both were very attentive and it never felt like a bother to ask them for anything, very warm and inviting hosts. The garden is beautiful, which provides a nice escape from the city, and the pool is very refreshing for the summer heat. The room had everything that is needed; there are refreshments free of charge in the fridge and a wonderful French breakfast in the morning. Great location close to the Gare d’Avignon Centre as well as the city center & Palais de Papes. They truly allow you to feel at home here. I would definitely stay here again without a doubt!

The loveliest guest house we've ever stayed in! I was blown away by the beauty and hospitality during our stay in Avignon. Of the the hotels we stayed in during our trip to France, Les Jardines de Barcane, was our favorite place to rest after a long day of traveling. The breakfast set up was so thoughtful and the gardens absolutely dreamy. Do no hesitate to book a stay with Olivier!

Olivier was a fantastic host and made us feel right at home. His welcome introduction was extremely well thought through and saved us having to look for the best restaurants and things to do in and around Avignon. The room was very comfortable and the garden was a delightful area to relax after a day or exploring the area. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a homely stay in Avignon. Thank you Olivier!

This place is like a peace of heaven within Avignon. Such a lovely backyard, beautiful rooms. Highly recommended if you want a place to stay far away of anonymous chain hotels. Very private and personal welcome as well as service. And not to forget the hidden star guest Minette. Highly recommended and we always would return without any hesitation. I also recommend to take the breakfast. Lovely setting and high quality, local products (best honey ever tried). To have a decent sized pool after a day of exploring the city is an additional advantage.
Fabian K — Google review
My wife and I are retirees and had a wonderful time at this very warm and serene bed and breakfast just a short walk to the center of town. As soon as you walk in you felt the comfort and beauty of their back yard garden area where we sat and enjoyed nature. There is also a very nice pool adjacent to the gardens to cool off after a day of touring. Oliver and Laurence were great hosts; helping us in every way possible with choice of restaurants, and how to get around Avignon and surrounding areas by using trains and buses, and even helped us with our luggage. We were in their Babylone Suite which is on the top floor, it was a spacious room including the bathroom. The stairwell was narrow but we had no problems walking the steps. If you like B&Bs or want a change from a hotel, this is a great place to stay and the hosts just adds to a wonderful experience.

Hôtel La Mirande, located in Avignon, France, was once the residence of a 14th-century cardinal and now stands as an elegant hotel with high-end rooms adorned with antiques. The hotel also houses a cooking school where guests can participate in classes taught by Michelin-starred chefs from the region. These classes offer the opportunity to learn how to prepare innovative Provencal dishes such as strawberry salad and stuffed guinea fowl.
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel La Mirande. We received amazing, over the top service. When we could not figure out how to drive the to the hotel, we parked outside the city and ubered in. The next day the valet went and retrieved our car for us and parked it at the hotel. We arrived later in the night a little frustrated and hungry and all the restaurants were closed. The front desk reception arranged for a cheese plate to be brought up to the room. Anything we needed they took care of even dinner reservations at Le Restaurant which was absolutely outstanding!! I highly recommend! Also, the hotel couldn’t be in a better location. You can walk to everything.

This hotel is very special. The rooms are decorated exquisitely and in keeping with the historical period. However the air conditioning was not working in my room the first two nights and there wasn’t another room available so sleeping was uncomfortable. The third day the electricity went out completely and I was moved to a much smaller room for the final night. Upon checking out no adjustment was made on the bill for the inconvenience or for the smaller and presumably less expensive room.
Carolyn U — Google review
This is not a luxury hotel, it is more akin to a poorly run bed and breakfast. The air conditioning was not working in the hotel for our entire stay. There was no consistent hot water in the bathroom. The room reeked. The carpeting and linens were stained. We were advised not to use our balcony because opening the door to it would trigger the (broken) AC to turn off. Breakfast was terrible. Only the bread and eggs were edible. However, dinner was shockingly good considering how terrible everything else is at this hotel. Service was unacceptable. I saw the front desk staff refuse to allow other guests to hold their bags. The concierge seemed to lack basic knowledge about activities in the region. When I asked to leave the hotel and check into a new one (due to the broken AC and lack of hot water), I was told I would not receive a refund. Eventually, they gave half off the stay. It should've been refunded entirely.

In the middle of the old town, beautiful building right across the street from the Popes Palace. Beautiful very unique room and amazing surface. Extremely difficult to drive to the hotel with all the old town narrow Street €25 for valet parking.

A Charming Stay at a Truly Historic Gem Hôtel La Mirande is an unforgettable place—steeped in history, elegantly preserved, and full of character. While our room wasn't one of the signature ones with soaring ceilings or a canopy bed, it was still very nice: spacious, well-appointed, and full of thoughtful details that made the stay comfortable and relaxing. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is refined and peaceful, with a level of old-world charm that’s hard to find anywhere else. From the tranquil garden to the antique-filled sitting rooms, every corner feels like a step back in time—in the best way. The location, right next to the Palais des Papes, is unbeatable. And the staff were gracious and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking to soak in authentic French ambiance and timeless elegance. We hope to return someday and try one of those even grander rooms!

Leslie was the most outstanding employee at La Mirande. She was SO kind, helpful, knowledgeable and seemed truly happy to be of service in the dining room.

Everything about La Mirande is wonderful. The hotel is located literally next door to the Palais des Papes. The rooms are charming and very comfortable and well appointed. The dining areas are beautiful and the service is top class. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a comfortable and smooth stay, organizing dinner reservations, a great personal tour of the old city as well as travel to and from the TGV station. I cannot recommend La Mirande highly enough.

Mercure Avignon Gare TGV is a remarkable 4-star hotel located in the heart of Avignon, France. Situated just 1.8 miles from the city center, this sleek hotel offers understated accommodations with an outdoor pool, contemporary restaurant, and spa facilities. The hotel provides easy access to attractions such as Remparts d'Avignon and musee Louis Vouland.
This hotel is beautiful. The service was amazing and friendly. The room was spotless and so modern and nice, it even smelled lovely! The housekeeping staff was so nice and accommodating when we asked for towels (we used ours for the pool not knowing we could get them from the desk). Our bartender, Lucas, was fantastic. We looked forward to our evening time at the bar and he even helped us to prepare some wine for our room the night we had to pack and had to spend the time in our room preparing to leave… I will advise anyone coming to this area to visit this hotel, it was wonderful and I am hoping to be back someday. I am from the USA.

Room was clean with comfortable beds and cold air conditioning. Shower with good pressure. The restaurant service and food quality are very good. We has the pasta and pulled pork sandwich - fresh, tasty, and delicious with friendly and warm service from Pauline and Valentin. Highly recommend.

This place works well if you have a car, since the free parking and EV charging are a nice perk. The TGV station is also just a ten-minute walk away. The room itself was okay and the breakfast was pretty good. Overall, it's a fine place to stay for the price.

The kind associate upgraded me to a fine corner room with a wraparound balcony. Room had 2 extra beds I didn’t need. The hotel is very modern and convenient for TGV travelers. The restaurant is nice and the swimming pool lovely. Breakfast was good too.
David S — Google review
Great restaurant with tasty options, However a big miss is that there was a false fire alarm, and while trying to exit from the emergency doors, they were locked. This is borderline dangerous if the alarm was real. Also, 2 stays, had to change the room twice. Once because the AC didn’t work, second because they forgot to clean the room. In my opinion, stay away.

I booked this hotel initially because I was traveling in and out of Avignon via TGV and also this hotel is the only Accor property in Avignon offering flexible rate during the days I wished to stay for some reasons 🤔. Yet, after checking in, there is much more that impressed me. Front desk staff are very helpful and welcoming who are willing to address every question I had, I originally booked only a classic room with double bed but got upgraded to a family room which is highly appreciated as I wanted to book twin room in the beginning but it wasn't available the time when I make the booking thus it's a pleasant surprise for me😄. I used the pool one day in the afternoon, it was very nice and organised. I also managed to have breakfast and dinner one day because I joined a full day tour, and the F&B staff are also very helpful and attentive despite being occupied. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind living outside the centre of Avignon or if you have your own method of transportation

I was genuinely surprised to see this hotel rated as a four-star property. Upon arrival, the check-in experience felt more like a self-serve kiosk setup—just a few laptops on a desk, with only one staff present. There was no luggage assistance, no room service available, and overall, the experience felt more like a three star hotel at most. When I got to my room, I was disappointed to find several fruit flies and other insects that I had to remove from the room and I also found stains on the carpet and couch that converts to a pull-out sofa bed. Overall unkept and worn-down feel. I’ve stayed in other four-star hotels, and unfortunately, this one didn’t meet the standards in terms of cleanliness, service, or amenities. The breakfast was also underwhelming and lacked variety or quality. If you’re looking for a hotel experience that reflects genuine four-star service and comfort, I would recommend staying elsewhere.

We had high expectations after reading all the great reviews , unfortunately our experience was not great ! On the positive side the hotel is a good base to discover the region and the free parking is a plus , Nevertheless the room was very basic with the bathroom separated from the bedroom with a curtain ! During our 2 nights stay we had to change our room twice for a couple of incidents . The worst part of our stay is the alarm that went off early in the morning indicating a fire , we rushed out of our rooms with other hotel guests , trying to evacuate the building but all exit doors were locked ! Panic ! We finally tried the elevator to the lobby to be told in a cold manner that it was a false alarm . I hope the hotel is aware of the severity of the situation if there was actually a fire !

Hôtel Mercure Pont d'Avignon Centre is a modern 4-star property located in the heart of Avignon, within walking distance of major attractions like the Pont d'Avignon and the Papal Palace. The hotel offers comfortable rooms with city views, along with amenities such as a cafe/bar, garden courtyard, fitness room, meeting rooms, and secure parking. Guests can indulge in Mediterranean cuisine at the on-site restaurant or relax at the bar's outdoor terrace.
Perfect location, direct access to the Papal Palace. A city parking is near the hotel. Spacious room, comfortable bed, good hot water pressure in the bathroom. Large selection of food for breakfast, including local products. Friendly staff. If there are excursion groups in the hotel, it is better to come for breakfast early, otherwise you may have to wait.

Mostly good, but they booked out our entire floor to a group of young footballers, who were up all night, slamming doors and shouting in the hallway. They could have sent an email to the few guests staying that weekend to advise us, or put us on a different floor. Management overall seems to be lacking. We had four people standing at reception on our arrival, but only one of them could check people in, the rest just standing there doing nothing. Fitness centre is actually just a room with a treadmill and bike, not an actual fitness centre. So don't expect to workout. Location is good enough, a 10-15 min walk to all main streets and restaurants, but very close to popular sightseeing.
Ilya L — Google review
The location is excellent, with the Bridge of Avignon and the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-des-Doms just nearby. The front office staff were very kind and helpful, which made my stay more enjoyable. However, the AC unit in the restroom was not strong enough to use the blow dryer or the hair iron comfortably.
Jeanna L — Google review
Nice room, comfy bed, helpful staff, great location, and there's a cat that hangs out in the lobby! Unfortunately, the air quality is awful. Either the carpets in the rooms have collected too much dust or it's the air coming through the vents, but for a stay of more than a couple nights, be prepared for a sore dry throat and stuffed nose.
Donald S — Google review
A nice stay in Avignon. The hotel is extremely well located for the various sights of Avignon. Staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast spread was very good with many options.
Matthew — Google review
I have written very few reviews, but this hotel deserves one. Very unhappy with our stay here. Here’s why. I forgot two dresses in the closet when we had an early departure. When our tour director notified them the next day, they could not locate either dress. This seems dishonest and unacceptable to me. Where could they have gone? You will not be able to use any blow dryer in the bathroom, as the electrical outlet simply will not work even with the hotel’s provided (Europe wattage)blow dryer. The current is truly for razors only. Highly inconvenient to blow dry my hair outside the bathroom where the only mirror was awkward and nowhere near a table. This situation was so odd (for 2025 in a decent chain hotel) that I asked the front desk who claimed it was a safety issue. I’ve stayed in many historical village convents with more convenient bathrooms. For a hotel that has an attractive lobby and terrace, it was surprising to see a lot of paper trash strewn around the main entry to the hotel. The same trash I saw on day one was still present two days later when we left. I could have easily picked it all up, so why doesn’t the bellman bother to?
Dana B — Google review
The hotel is old and dated and is more akin to a 2* than a 4. Postage size towels of facecloth quality. Poor quality bedding with no closures and a seem down the middle. Both rooms had an issue with the plumbing where the showers turned scaldingly hot and burnt us. Shower heads are not fixed and face toward the walls making showering tricky. Unpleasant smelling incense burning in the corridors. No staff at the breakfast resulting in dirty plates piling up. Not a good option at the price.
Sarah R — Google review
Only redemption was the location. No room service after 7 pm. Parking was not included. Breakfast was not included. Very expensive at 18 e for just an elevated continental breakfast. When showering the water shocks you with blistering hot to freezing cold. NOT HANDICAP accessable.

Nestled in the charming city of Avignon, the Hôtel Best Western Plus Le Lavarin offers a serene escape just 2.5 km from iconic landmarks like the Palais des Papes and Pont d'Avignon. This bright property features comfortable, air-conditioned rooms equipped with free Wi-Fi, ensuring a pleasant stay for all guests. The hotel boasts an inviting outdoor pool and a refined restaurant that promises delightful dining experiences.
We had a great stay at the Best Western Plus Le Lavarin! Due to a significant issue with another accommodation we made a very late reservation for 4 nights. The rooms were small for 3 people, but had everything we needed, including great AC for the hot weather.. The breakfast was tasty, and so was the dinner we had on property one evening. The best part of our stay was the staff. They treated us so warmly, and were always ready to help.
Wbforbes — Google review
Out of all accommodations on our 30-day European honeymoon, this was the worst. Awful location, no where near the Avignon city center so we had to order a taxi every day to take us into the city (about 10-15 minute drive). The surrounding neighborhood was not safe for walking around. There was no AC in the room which had us sweating every night. When we asked about this, the staff only stated the AC is turned on during the hot months even though we were there in the middle of April and it was warm to us. In order to try to make the room cooler at night, we cracked open the patio door which made the room a bit cooler but also let in tons of mosquitoes which led me to leave the hotel with about 20 mosquito bites on my body. 😭 definitely not worth it!

We have stayed here twice now and plan to book again. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious and the air con works very well which was welcome in the recent heatwave. Some nice touches are; rainforest showers are amazing and the rooms have herbal tea bags and water available as well as tea and coffee. There were also complimentary cakes available in reception during our latest stay. The pool and outdoor areas are well kept and the garden is very pretty. There are several inflatables available to use in the outdoor pool. There is also a gym and sauna area which are very clean. The restaurant and bar are slightly pricier than other hotels but worth that price (the menu did not change however and there was a marked difference in presentation on the two nights we dined which I will have to attribute to different staff working). The location is a way from town but if you are fit enough then it is easily walkable. We opted for taxis this time due to the heat and having a young child in our party but there is also a bus that goes from outside the hotel and staff are very helpful advising on routes. We look forward to our next stay.

We stayed here two nights and got a room in the extension part of the building. The room was large, had a big window and a comfortable bed. Really happy with the secure parking - it always got full in the evening but we always managed to park the car. The only negative comment I have is that the pool area could be better. The pool wasn’t very clean and some of the chairs were broken.

We stopped at the Best Western for one night on our way to Paris from Toulouse. The hotel was quiet, with ample parking and a good restaurant. But what makes this hotel outstanding was the efforts the staff to help us retrieve some important papers we had left behind in our room. We discovered this when we reached our next stop in Lyon. The Best Western staff were contacted and helped us retrieve the papers the next morning when the guest who was now occupying the room had checked out. Our trip was saved. We drove back to Avignon from Lyon and retrieved the papers and then drove to Paris to catch our flight. Thank you Best Western staff for your help. If we are ever back in Avignon we will definitely choose your hotel
Graham S — Google review
The rooms are clean and the reception staff are helpful. The hotel is comfortable. AVOID THE RESTAURANT. Our food was undercooked and came out very soon after ordering. We had to send it back along with a dirty and broken wine glass. The pool was ok but could have been cleaner.
Ginger F — Google review
It has free parking, a big plus. The location of the hotel is not so good. It is about 3 km far from the Avignon wall. Waking is not recommended as the streets are always has no people. There's a bus stop nearby. If you don't wanna drive or walk, you can try the bus. Its room has a tub for you to relax. The refrigerator in my room is broken. There is a complimentary carton of water inside the refrigerator. However, it is at room temperature. The water has a stale smell. I drank water I bought after giving it a taste. As the refrigerator is broken, the staff asked me to store the yogurt I bought at the refrigerator in the kitchen. Whenever I want to eat yogurt, I need to go to the front desk to ask them to get my yogurt. It is really weird. Breakfast is decent with a nice view of the backyard

Thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay here. We were in the ground floor apartment opposite the breakfast dining room. It’s fairly basic, but the shower is good & the bed is the best we have ever slept on when on holiday. My wife & I are very tall so it’s always struggle to find big beds & we NEVER agree on mattress comfort… until now! Despite the crazy hot weather, the rooms were cool thanks to the air-con (on for our arrival) & the pool was in use at every opportunity by our daughter. The hosts are very friendly & chilled, with restaurant recommendations provided along with wine & nibbles for my wife when sat round the pool (bring insect repellent to avoid bites!). The breakfasts were amazing. Loved the fresh bread, offer of cooked eggs & the ‘grown in the garden’ figs.

This accommodation was the most expensive in our whole 2 weeks trip. And I have to say it was the best place that we stayed. We were 2 couples, room really big enough. Love their settings, how they decorated the house. The house owner are also really cute, made great breakfast and were so helpful by telling us what we could eat, where to go etc. I already miss their house, you feel like it is your house too. Really cozy! Next time will reserve again! Really really really recommended!!!

Very quiet street with a sheltered and private garden, and friendly hosts. We visited in a heatwave and the pool was lovely and cold every day. The breakfasts were very well catered with good local bread and pastries and a nice selection of yoghurt, cheese, ham and salami. We stayed in the little appartment which was perfect with two kids. The kitchen area was just right for us to be able to buy bread and cheese and fruit, and eat in when it was too hot to go out for lunch. The fridge also held a respectable number of beers and a few bottles of wine for lazy evenings in the garden.

Spent 3 lovely nights at the L'Observance. We were a family with 2 adults and 2 little children and had the apartment. Enough space, clean and comfortable beds. Breakfast was yummy, especially the fresh baguette and croissants and many other things. Only criticism could be the small TV. Thank you and all the best 👍🤩

We had a wonderful short stay here! The room looks exactly like the pictures and the location is central to most attractions as well as the train station. Breakfast includes a variety of croissants, bread, jams, cheeses, yogurts and crepes from 8:30 am-10am. No elevator in the building but good thing theres not too many floors to climb. Staying here is a great way to meet others and the host is a lovely person. We enjoyed our time here very much.

Our stay at Le Limas was superb. Rosalie greeted us and provided warm service (in excellent English whenever our elementary French faltered!) throughout our stay, including providing a tasty breakfast spread, giving local recommendations, and helping us with travel mishap (she arranged a last minute taxi when our train to the airport was severely delayed). Located 5 minutes from train station and across the street from City Walls. 20 minute walk to Popes Palace. Nice size rooms. Ours was supposed to have a sofa and spare bed but had a king sized bed (medium soft foam) and a comfy chair. Some days coffee was left for us, others we had to ask for it. Air conditioning in room was poor (it was close to 40 C). Bath tub is large, so difficult to step into. Pool was jam backed. Huge lobby and dining rooms. Breakfast was repetitive but good. Fresh eggs available to boil yourself. Bacon and sausage barely cooked. Lots of fruit, cheese, etc. All in all adequate but a better place for families than anyone else.
Jamie W — Google review
This is a very nice hotel. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We stayed in a family room for 4, with a large double bed, a single and a pull out bed on the floor. Although not huge, they are reasonably sized and storage is ample. The rooms also had a fridge for storing drinks and snacks. The bathroom has a decent shower with quality products available to use, and a separate toilet. It's location is perfect, our room overlooked the old walls, and it is right next to a tramline. The car park is an underground car park and I believe it was €12-15 for the night as an additional cost. The reception area is open and inviting. We did not use the pool or the restaurant. The drinks in the bar however were a little pricey. I've marked one star down due to drinks costs and also as I felt the male receptionist who greeted us was a little frosty and could have been friendlier, although other family members had a lady before us who they said was wonderfully helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Location is perfect for sightseeing. Staff very helpful and friendly. Issue 1: Upon checking in we found another guests pyjamas underneath our pillows. Issue 2: Air-conditioning could never drop the room temperature below 26°C.

Very nice facility with a reasonable bar but a bit of a walk from the old city center.and Palace of the Popes. Also a walk to some of the more local restaurants. It is close to the Avignon Center train station and metro stops and does have all the amenities in the rooms.

I spent but a single night at the Novotel Avignon Centre prior to an early morning train departure, and while I did not have the opportunity to avail myself of the hotel’s full range of offerings, I found it more than adequate for a brief stay. The presence of water dispensers on each floor was a most welcome convenience. The bathroom was impeccably clean and suitably appointed. The hotel enjoys an excellent location, mere steps from the city centre, ideal for my short visit. Only a ten-minute drive from the Avignon TGV station: Overall a well-situated and competently run establishment, entirely fitting for a short sojourn. I should not hesitate to return, should my travels bring me once more to Avignon.
Le M — Google review
Nice and large room, very confortable. A covered parking is available and you are 15’ distance walk from the historical centre. Pity that we had to insist repeated times to have our room cleaned.
Michel R — Google review
We had a terrible breakfast experience due to unmanaged bus loads. This could have been a nice hotel if they did not accept bus loads of tourists in an unmanaged way. The buffet was exhausted, almost empty. Although breakfast staff was doing it's best for cleaning the tables and adding supplies, essential food like bread, cheese and meat slices were missing during the hour that we tried to get some food. I cannot blame the breakfast room staff; the hotel management should be fired and replaced for not managing bus loads properly (e g. by assigning a separate breakfast room for busses). Even then, 4 double-deck busses parked beside the hotel is simply too much! Even the day before, when bus tourists were less disturbing, the breakfast buffet was not what we expect from a Novotel.

The Hôtel Mercure Avignon Centre Palais des Papes is a contemporary accommodation located on the Place de l'Horloge in the heart of Avignon. With 89 rooms, this 4-star hotel offers modern amenities at reasonable prices. Its convenient location near Palais des Papes makes it an ideal base for exploring the main attractions of Avignon. While some guests found the decor slightly dated, they appreciated the warm reception from the staff.
We had booked a one night stay and found the parking easily but as I hadn’t read the address correctly we went to the wrong hotel and we taken by one of the reception team over to the Palais des Papes. He couldn’t have been more helpful. The reception team at the hotel also were very helpful and we went up to our well appointed room with an excellent view. Being so central we were able to visit the bridge and the Palais as well as walking around the town including finding a gelato for a welcome ice cream on a very hot day. The bed was extremely comfortable and both my wife and I slept well. The breakfast the next morning was very good with a wide selection of pastries charcuterie, cheese, fruit etc and delicious coffee too. We would certainly return.

We had an excellent stay at the Mercure Hotel Palais des Papes, lovely staff, especially grateful to Yoann who provides great eating and site seeing tips. The hotel is directly next to the Palais, so you could not ask for a better spot, and the suit is well worth the investment for that spectacular balcony!

We stayed one night and while it was ok, we likely wouldn't recommend it or stay again. Pros: - Perfect location for touring the sights of Avignon - Friendly, helpful service/staff - Fridge in room - Dated, but quite comfortable - Clean Cons: - AC turned off in building, despite being a listed amenity. The hotel was very hot, and we were not informed until we asked maintenance to check. We got a fan, but air didn't circulate well in the room. We were miserably hot much of the time. - Strange smell in the hallway and room - probably from the carpeting. - Breakfast was lackluster - scrambled eggs were probably from a powder as the texture was strange. No veggies (tomatoes/cucumber). Only a couple of bruised pears as fresh fruit. - 10am checkout (kind of early for vacationers)

The hotel's location is excellent, but unfortunately, it lacks on-site parking. However, there is a public parking lot nearby and the hotel offers a discount for guests. Beyond the location, I was disappointed with the overall experience. The room i was staying in was small and old. The hotel does not meet the standards expected of a 4-star establishment. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a friend and I certainly won't be booking here again.
Lennert W — Google review
Good location and “friendly” service at the reception. I have no comment about Room 202, which was next to the elevator and was flanked by two narrow windows. What really pissed me off was the checkout time being at 12pm, yet housekeeping opened our door without knocking at 9am while we were still in bed—JUST TO CLEAN?! And it didn’t happen just once. She opened the door three times before noon—EACH TIME WITHOUT KNOCKING. That was incredibly rude and completely unacceptable.

This is an absolute no for me. Dragging your suitcase over cobbles stones for 200m because the parking they say they have is not at the hotel. Getting to the hotel is a nightmare. The room is SO small you have to stand on your suitcase to get in bed and the window is the size of a match box. I literally felt like I was in prison !

Arriving at the hotel after a very long flight to be told our booking had been cancelled because our agent had not paid for the room - rubbish! We asked how the cancellation had occurred and when. Initially they said by telephone twice and then changed to by Email. We asked to see the emails but they couldn’t be found. We asked to see the manager but was told he would only be available at 10.30 the next morning. They then found us a hovel to stay in for the night. At 10.30 the next morning we returned to the hotel to see the manager Not Available AND they could still not show us any evidence that they had cancelled I suggest to any travellers that they constantly reconfirm their bookings with this hotel to ensure against any questionable dealings.

apparently we did not get the room promised. Very small and little room for luggage. We asked for extra pillows and on the 3rd and last night they were removed. Breakfast was perfect.

Hotel
The Adagio Access Avignon is a reasonably priced, clean and simple apartment hotel located close to the TGV train station. The staff are friendly and speak English well, making it easy to get around town. There are a few areas of the property that could do with some updating but on the whole it's an excellent value for money option.
Great value 5 minutes from Avignon TGV station - room 301 was quiet (closing door to separate room from corridor) and view on forrest. Reception lady was friendly and offered welcome chocolates (Platinum member)

Our room was fine with a small kitchen but it was on top floor and was too hot, even in mid May. The AC did not work and we were only able to sleep by opening the windows - but this led to traffic noise. I hate to think what it must be like in full summer. Suggestion: ask for a room that is not on top floor.
Jeremy W — Google review
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in June 2025. The hotel is located near the Avignon TGV station, just a 7-minute walk away. The room is spacious and includes a kitchen equipped with cooking utensils. The bathroom is clean, but the water drainage is a bit slow. However, the hotel is not close to the city center of Avignon; you need to take a bus to get there, which takes about 30 minutes. The nearby supermarkets and restaurants also require a bus ride or a 10-minute walk. The staff is nice and helpful. If you want to be near the TGV station, this is a good place to stay.

I recently spent six weeks at this hotel during my stay in Avignon. The hotel's location is a major plus—just a 5-minute walk from the TGV station, making it very convenient for accessing public transport. The reception staff truly stand out. They're well-trained, incredibly cooperative, and handle every request with professionalism, always offering effective solutions. However, I did encounter an issue early in my stay. I had to leave for work early one morning and returned late the following night, only to find that the door code had been changed. Unfortunately, I wasn't informed of the new code, which left me stranded outside for over 30 minutes trying to reach someone for assistance. It would be helpful if the hotel could send an SMS notification to guests when such changes are made. Another area that could use improvement is the cleaning service, which wasn’t always up to standard. However, whenever I brought this to the attention of the reception team, they responded quickly and addressed the issue. I also had a minor issue with the air conditioning in my room—it made a lot of noise when I increased the fan speed. Once I reported it, the reception took prompt action to fix it. Overall, while there were a few hiccups, the hotel's excellent location and responsive staff made for a mostly positive experience.
Joseph F — Google review
Hotel was extremely hot, AC barely worked. There were insects everywhere including cockroaches in the halls. Halls smelled damp like an old salad. Toilet stopped working after one use. The hotel generally just felt run down and in poor condition, and it was ultimately just not a pleasant stay.
Alex — Google review
We had stayed at an adagio hotel in aix-en- provence and had a very good experience so we naturally expected the same here in Avignon, but we're shocked when we entered our 'apartment' it smelled like roach spray, and made me cough and sneeze, the rooms were much smaller than described and the a/c was non-existent, we turned it to 15celsius, and barely any air was coming out of the vent, the whole place looked worn and neglected. We could not stay there, so we didn't touch anything and went back to reception and told the receptionist that the room was not as described to us when we booked, and we will not stay and want a refund. She was very nice and said she understood, but she herself couldn't issue a credit, only the manager could do so. No manager was on call, was told she be there in the morning. I wrote an email to the manager explaining the situation and ask to issue the refund. Since I had not heard back, I personally went back the next morning, since I was told the manager would be there, but guess what???not so, now the manager is in Paris for a week, and nobody else can do anything, we are leaving for the states in 2 days, i was assured that the manager would get my email and take care of it!!! We will see, I have never been anywhere, were the cannot give a refund after they charged you 20 minutes before. I guess I have to take it up with my credit company. So be aware, if anything happens to you at that place and the manager is not around which seems to be the case, you have no recause.
Burga N — Google review
Only 5 minutes from the tgv and car hire if needed. It was nice and clean and breakfast was good staff were helpful.

Room smelled and so much old blood stains underneath the mattress. Story continues with this hotel, we booked this hotel again since the location is near the train station. We understand our booking cannot be refunded or modified. I have begging them to see if it can be exceptional case to allow us to get the refund for my booking cancellation since my husband diagnoses cancer and needed to start the treatment. We really needed to cancel the trip. The other hotels did exception and refunded all our money from our booking after they heard our story, but this hotel has no sympathy and I strongly not recommended to anyone. If all the hotels are not available, I still not considered to stay in this hotel again forever!! The only thing that we booked this hotel again after our trip in May, it’s bcoz the location, nothing else. The room was dirty and smelly, mattress with blood on it.

Bed & breakfast
The Bastide de Bellegarde is a luxury bed and breakfast on the Barthelasse River island, offering Instagrammers a chance to play out their castaway fantasies. The four suites are rustic and charming, with exposed stone walls and original wooden beams creating an interesting scene. Brian, the Irish owner was wonderfully welcoming and invited guests to explore the island and its surroundings. The bed and breakfast also features a restaurant, bar, shared lounge, garden and pool.
Brian made us feel at home – he is a naturally charismatic host and an amazing chef (Michelin star coming soon 😉). When our room was too hot, Brian let us move to another, cooler room. It was lovely to stay just outside of Avignon and bike around the island. Our meals were great, everyone on the staff was so kind, and the peacock sightings were a treat.
Beatrice L — Google review
Bastide de Bellegarde is spectacular! Brian is a wonderful host, a delightful conversationalist, and an amazing chef. The breakfast he cooked for us was by far the best we've had in a month of traveling across Greece and France. (Our only regret is that we didn't reserve dinner there too!) Moreover, the location is great - so close to Avignon, but in a quiet, peaceful spot just outside of town. It's for a good reason that this place has a perfect 5.0 rating with 454 reviews on Google! We can't wait to return.

We recently stayed at this absolutely beautiful villa in Provence. Brian was the most welcoming and hospitable host who did so much to make our stay both comfortable and relaxed. The rooms of the villa are absolutely gorgeous and decorated in luxurious French furniture and furnishings. Brian cooked the most delicious breakfasts and evening meals, always in true French style. The food was outstanding. Brian was so charming and an absolutely delightful host who made us, and all his guests feel at home. I cannot wait to re-visit Bastide De Bellegarde again.
Grace K — Google review
Every room carries the authentic charm of a Provençal estate, brought to life by Brian — the owner, manager, and chef — whose personality and taste shine through in every detail. His collection of paintings, sculptures, china, and antique furniture gives the house a unique character, and each piece comes with a story that Brian shares with warmth and enthusiasm. Our guest room, with its sitting area, expansive terrace, and comfortable bed, felt like a seamless extension of the beautifully curated spaces downstairs. Beyond the charm and aesthetics, both breakfast and dinner were outstanding. Brian’s eye for design is rivaled only by his talent in the kitchen — every meal felt both thoughtful and memorable. A truly special stay, made all the more remarkable by Brian himself.
Mark J — Google review
Brian, the owner from Bastide de Bellegarde, has such a charming Humor and ability to connect people that Wolfgang and I immediately felt like staying with old friends in a Wunderful surrounding. The delicious dinner Brian cooked for all of us made our stay an even more special one. Not to forget to mention the beautiful and carefully renovated Mas Provencale and the big garden and cosy terraces that invite to relaxing hours only 10 minutes bike ride away from Avignon Center. We for sure will visit Brian again!
Petra E — Google review
What an amazing stay we had here! Right from the start we were made to feel welcome, and once we settled in to our beautiful room we didn't want to leave. The spaces have all been finished with well-chosen art and small decorative pieces, and the grounds and nearby area make for nice strolling. Do not miss the optional dinners provided either! The host is an amazing cook, and we ended up eating on property every night. Additionally, it is close enough to the city to park (free) quite nearby at the tip of the island and walk over the bridge into the city, so convenient to everything but with a feel of being in the country.
Diane E — Google review
I had the most wonderful stay at Bastide de Bellegarde, and that’s completely down to Brian. The house is beautifully decorated with such charm and character, it honestly felt like stepping into a French film. But what really makes it unforgettable is Brian himself. He couldn’t do enough for us, welcoming us so warmly and making the place feel like a true home from home. Breakfast was abundant and delicious (I’m still dreaming about the bread and pastries), and dinner was even more special—not just the food, but the setting, the atmosphere, and the way Brian effortlessly brought everyone together. He’s entertaining, thoughtful, and simply a joy to be around. We had so much fun cycling on the free bikes, and when we got caught in the rain, Brian even picked them up for us, such a kind gesture. Every little detail made our stay feel effortless and full of heart. I honestly can’t recommend it enough.

Tranquil, charming, tasteful, artsy and the best B&B I've stayed. The peacock welcome is special. You must have dinner here the owner Brian prepares and serves. Delightful, feasting to both your eyes and taste buds. You will be glad you did. If you drive, take advantage of free parking and shuttle to Avignon

Hotel De L'Atelier is a charming accommodation set in a converted 16th-century factory, offering a refined stay with a courtyard patio and an inviting dining room. Located in the historical district of Villeneuve-les-Avignon, this family-friendly hotel provides easy access to popular attractions such as Palais des Papes and Eglise Collegiale Notre-Dame. The former silk factory features thick stone walls surrounding lush gardens and private courtyards, providing a tranquil retreat.
Lovely hotel! With garden and terrace !!! The breakfast is complete with orange press juice, cappuccino and everything you want from a continental breakfast. For work or leisure, this hotel has it all! I came for business and had such a pleasant sleep (no noise) + you can walk to the church and touristy places. You have plenty restaurant options around the hotel, an ATM just one block away, at least 2 bakeries. Thursday, a local market is open 1 block away next to “bank Agricole”. Honey and cheese over there is just great!
Ailin B — Google review
The rooms were super awesome. Antique terracotta tile, stone walls, and that vintage French vibe, while still having modern amenities. Pretty big rooms for a French hotel also. The service was pretty great. It was sometimes hard to find someone to help you, but whenever they were helping you they were amazing. Location was great. It was close to a lot of French places to eat, villeneuve castle, and a short ride away from avignon centre. Perfect for touring without the crowds near where you stay.
Chloe F — Google review
The place looks nice on the outside. However with 2 flight of stairs and a room with zero space and lots of ancient furniture with no utility, the feel is that of a crammed space than a hotel room. They have friendly staff and a hot water dispenser with some tea/coffee packs and biscuits kept in the common area. No fridge or kettle in the room. We didn't have bfast at the place. There are plenty of eating places just outside the hotel. The scenery is beautiful but the rooms should shave off the excess gothic furniture to let some room.

A hidden gem in a beautiful, historic town. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Atelier! The location is stunning—Villeneuve-lès-Avignon is full of charm and character. The hotel itself is beautiful, full of history and atmosphere, with a lovely terrace and patio that make you want to stay forever. Breakfast was generous with plenty of vegan options, which we really appreciated. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming—especially Stéphane, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at Hotel De L'Atelier! This place has so much heart: the staff is kind, helpful, and super knowledgable about the area, and everything - from homemade jams at breakfast to a very extensive guide book of local recommendations made and updated by Stéphane - has a warm personal touch. Staying in Villeneuve is also a wonderful option; it's beautiful and quiet, and very easy to get to Avignon Centre. Highly recommend :)

Auberge de Noves is a charming 19th-century manor located on the outskirts of Avignon, set within a picturesque 15-hectare park. The rustic-chic quarters offer a relaxing retreat, with an outdoor heated pool and beautifully decorated bedrooms. The hotel boasts one of the finest restaurants in the area, featuring Provencal flavors and an extensive wine list with around 45,000 bottles in their cellar.
I was here about 50 years ago in the early fall September as I recall. I have never forgotten the experience of staying and dining at Auberge de Noves. The meal was exquisite. The service was superb. The view, of carnations blooming in the fields, from my bedroom window was akin to being in a French impressionist painting. I dream returning to this esteemed establishment. It will always be in my beautiful memory. Everything was beyond perfect.

Lovely room and really friendly staff. They are all very nice to us, especially to our little boy. Restaurant is amazing. Lovely view from Terrace and really good food. We had a chat with the chef over last night of our stay. Very friendly guy who used to work in London. Pool is very serene. Towels and drinks are self served in the little room next to changing. We loved our stay and wish we could stay longer. Breakfast is definitely the highlight of the day. Freshly squeezed orange juice, lovely yogurt and soft boiled egg. Fresh croissant and bread. We are definitely spoiled. The location is very central to all villages and sites. We highly recommend this place to anyone.

The domaine itself is amazing and with view The staff is exceptional Breakfast is excellent, made with local and fresh products, Restaurant is not gastronomic but still very good and tasty, Wine selection is local but a but pricey Swimming pool is good, good facilities ; shower, changing room, towels, sun beds and kids games. Rooms are very tired, in need of serious renovations. It would have been a palace 20 years ago

Beautiful place, excellent service from a very friendly and accomodating staff. Good, spacious room for 2 adults and a child (junior sutite). Air condition in room should be improved, it was barely sufficient to cool down the room during 4 days of 30+ degrees. Good, spacious pool with free (non-alcoholic) refreshments available, and with sufficient amount of sunbeds available. Food at restaurant is excellent, however it should also be so considering that the price is rather high. Breakfast is also good , but it is the same meny that is served every day (no buffet), which may become boring after some days. All in all: Excellent place, highly recommended.

The refined building features spacious, light-filled rooms with crisp white interiors, some of which have private patio spaces. La Demoiselle is a gem. It is beautifully styled and immaculately clean. Violette was super helpful with logistics & recommendations, and her breakfasts were simple and delicious, especially her homemade yogurt. The hotel is ideally situated for anyone wishing to explore Avignon. It is one of those special places you want to keep going back to.

The lady of the house is very very nice and helpful, room is spacious, warm and chic. Air-conditioning function well. We are on the 2nd floor, so one will need to move the luggage up, but that's often the case in Europe. The only slight problem is parking at Avignon is not easy and if you got a big car and strolling round to find the parking is not easy either. I would recommend it.

Spent a few days in Avignon at La Demoiselle and would highly recommend this beautifully renovated 5 room boutique hotel! Violette and Lise were welcoming and informative, my room large and airy with lovely linen and a reading nook, clean modern bathroom - great attention to detail and spotlessly clean! Lovely breakfast room with great coffee, homemade yogurt and croissants, and more! A short walk from most everything on a quiet residential street. No elevator, but I had help with my bag. Would go back in a heartbeat!

We were in France to participate in a plein aire painting workshop, and decided to spend two nights in Avignon to overcome jet lag and to see this beautiful city. So happy we chose La Demoiselle for our accommodations. Liza and Violette made sure that we could easily enter when we got there after 7 pm, and we found our room to be immaculate and the bed supremely comfortable. The morning breakfast offering was perfect, and Liza was a gracious hostess. The location is perfect for exploring the city as it’s located in an ideal area to explore and with excellent dining, shopping and sightseeing a walk away. Will stay at La Demoiselle again should I be lucky enough to visit Avignon in the future.

A wonderful stay! We booked the Jeannette suite and it was so lovely! The room itself is quite large (as is the bathroom, though not a lot of counter space if that is important to you) and it has the only terrace in the hotel. The terrace is quite nice, overlooking the glassed covered breakfast room. It was perfect on the one night it rained - we just brought in some wine and cheese and had a little picnic, as it was covered and protected. The room itself was very comfortable, with a couch, and everything was spotless and tastefully decorated. Breakfast each morning was continental style, with pastries, cakes, fruits, cheeses and the most delicious homemade yogurt. There was also coffee and oranges to make fresh juice. The owners were wonderful - they helped to arrange car services for us to and from the airport and a dinner outside of town (and sent me a confirmation the day of our dinner). I also mentioned that we would miss breakfast the first morning as we had an early tour and I received an email later on stating that they had arranged for a staff member to come by and start breakfast early for us, which we really appreciated! The hotel is more of a B&B, so no staff in the afternoons or evenings, but they did have there phone number listed and were available by email also. Lastly, I peeked into the open and unoccupied other rooms on my floor and the first floor, and they looked great too!

Bateau Hôtel Le Chardonnay is a unique 4-star hotel located in Avignon, just 700 meters from Papal Palace. The hotel offers a shared lounge, terrace, bar, and water sports facilities. Guests can enjoy free WiFi and the convenience of a 24-hour front desk. The property is non-smoking and provides exceptional staff support. Visitors have praised the originality of this waterfront accommodation and its quiet yet convenient location.
A stay so good we extended it! Hotel Chardonnay is an historic barge in prime position on the waterfront by the Palace of the Popes. The upper deck Starboard side has views of the ancient city walls, while the Post side has the river Rhone. We preferred the city side view from 2 glorious arm-chairs and floor to ceiling windows. The cabin, indeed the whole boat, is old style. Whilst the cabin is not huge in the context of modern shore-side Hotels, its quite adequate. But then there's the larger communal space. Maximum occupancy must only be about 50 people so the large dining room, adjoining bar and aperitif lounge become perfect, plus, forward on the main deck right at the front is a large saloon with 180 degree views forward. A terrific place to pull the laptop out or have a quiet afternoon coffee. We loved the old world charm so much we added a third night to our stay and had an excellent (and budget friendly) dinner onboard. Breakfasts were excellent to give a good start to the day in the very interesting city. The staff were excellent, genuinely happy, friendly and appeared 'invested' in the boat and caring for guests. We loved the step back in time, as well as the affordability. Better than a hotel, and better on the pocket.
Mark — Google review
The staff support was exceptional. They allowed us to move into a room facing the water instead of the noisy traffic, and while that room only had two small beds, they moved furniture around to make one whole bed for us. Some of the staff also work the nearby small ferry that crosses the Rhone and therefore know about it's daily functioning. The room was pleasant too, having a large sliding window and refurbished bathroom. They are great people, which can be rare to find in touristic Mediterranean cities.

This was our first time sleeping on a boat, and it was such a fun and unique experience! The view from the boat is beautiful, and you can enjoy it from your room, the diner or the lounge. Watch which side of the boat your room is on, but you can occasionally see nutrias from the side closer to the bank. The crew is kind and accommodating.

The rooms are nice, with a charming typical old cabin style. The bathroom is a bit outdated but overall everything is functional. The most remarkable thing would be the excellent and friendly service of the crew who made their best effort to help and give us a pleasant stay. Very nice Bed and Breakfast. We stayed for six nights and it was great location for exploring the hill towns around Avignon. The hosts are really special. So kind and willing to do that little bit extra to make your stay special. You are in the countryside, on Europe’s largest river island. Staying in a 16th century hunting lodge. Quiet, and tranquil. April is perfect warm weather. The breakfasts are home made croissants, warm butter, home made yoghurt, eggs, eaten in a communal lounge allowing you to mingle with other guests. The place has it all. We arrived by bus, crossing the river from Avignon, next time we will hire a car. Easy to explore the surrounding hill top towns

What an absolute delight! Beautiful property. Upon arrival we were greeted personally by the owner. He was extremely friendly to these Americans. Very helpful. And spoke great English. The room was spacious, comfortable, well appointed . The breakfast is top tier European breakfast. It’s worth the cost - do it. We love the property so much that we decided to spend a day on the grounds (which is very big). The pool and games were great. Nestled in the heart of Avignon's historic district, Aux Augustins Palais des Papes & Wellness by Autour du Petit Paradis is a charming guesthouse set in a former 14th-century monastery. The accommodations include spacious apartments and studios with cooking facilities and seating areas, some featuring original stone walls and small balconies overlooking the inner courtyard. Immaculately renovated, this delightful property offers a range of rooms and suites, providing all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay.
My wife and I had a great time here. Sabine and Patrick who run the place are very friendly and helpful. We had the attic room, which does have very low ceilings as they mention on their website, but the private terrace with a view of a 14th-century tower is amazing. The room and common areas were all very clean, and the private courtyard, which the attic room overlooks, was nice and quiet which I really enjoyed because the streets can get quite noisy on the weekends. If we’re ever in Avignon again, we would definitely stay here.

Absolutely wonderful! The charm and class of what you would hope for on a trip to Avignon is what you will find at this beautiful B&B, hotel, residence, … not sure what to call it, except, … experience. First, with the owners/hosts, Sabine and Patrick, they are multilingual, very gracious, and clearly are interested in guests comfort and first class experience. From the homemade quiche, ratatouille, jams, yogurt, to the local breads, fresh various coffees (Nespresso to American brew), fresh fruit, they delight us with a beautiful morning start. They don’t have on sight parking but were extremely helpful in taking us to the car park, helped us with our laundry (actually washed two loads for us). They provided many restaurant suggestions, helped with reservations, and it goes on. The beautiful rooms are all around a beautiful flower garden courtyard, our room even had a terrace overlooking the terrace. I don’t want to ruin any more surprises, just come and enjoy, … this will be one of those places, and experiences, to remember. Avignon is beautiful and full of things to see and enjoy.

My partner and I just spent a couple nights at this wonderful place. We found the location away from the very touristy area of Avignon just perfect. It was a close walk (maybe 5-10 minutes) to some of the main attractions and it was easy to get to a bus stop to explore Villeneuve Lez Avignon just across the river (highly recommend). Lots of good restaurants and small shops very close to the hotel. I would say the ONLY thing we found lacking at the hotel: good pillows... they were flat and encased in a thick plastic.... not enough of an issue to rate below 5 stars and Nicholas was kind enough to give us two additional pillows. Just surprising because everything else was top tier and very comfortable. The courtyard in the middle of the rooms/apartments was an oasis that made you feel very much away from the busy streets. Very quiet, well appointed without being fussy. And Nicholas was very kind in orienting us upon arrival with suggestions and directions. Would definitely stay again.

This was a fabulous place to stay . Such character and in a brilliant location to visit all of Avignon We were allowed to leave our suitcases early and the sofa bed was kindly made up for us PS - although toilet paper is at the top of the list of provided items you only get one small roll so be prepared Otherwise a fantastic stay highly recommended

If you are looking for French charm, excellent location and a warm welcome as if you are family, this is your place!! Sabine and Patrick are THE consummate hosts! My room (#5) was super clean, with AC, a little kitchenette, and very comfortable. A sweet little courtyard is the perfect place for resting. You will not want to leave this place!!

We stayed three nights in the attic room at Aux Augustins and it was wonderful! The room was clean and comfortable and the aircon meant it didn’t get too hot (even when it was 30+C outside). The terrace next to the bell tower was really picturesque and a lovely place to sit. The owners were super friendly and helpful, plus location was excellent (but not at all noisy)!

We enjoyed our stay at Aux Augustins very much. Our room was spacious, well-organized, clean, and very quiet. We received a very warm welcome from Patrick, who made sure that we had everything that we needed for our stay. Patrick even offered us an additional night free! Aux Augustins is conveniently located for the sights in Avignon, but was also far enough away from the tourist areas so that it was quiet. Our only problem was that there was some road construction work near the apartment building, but we did not hear any noise from it in our apartment, and we were able to find ways to avoid walking near the construction. We highly recommend Aux Augustins!

We booked a comfortable studio apartment in this restored monastery. It had a small kitchen which was good for making breakfasts, tea & coffee and heating food. The room was spacious, well designed and comfortable and we had a large modern bathroom. It's in a great location just minutes away from bakeries, supermarkets, bars and restaurants and short walk to all the attractions. We had a car which we parked for free at the Les Italiens car park which was a 10 minute walk away.

Character, location and hosts!! We stayed for three days and had a great time in Avignon!! Our hosts, Veronique and Fabrice were superb! When we arrived they spent time with us to review a map of the city and make recommendations of where to go and what to do. They made dinner reservations for us at delicious restaurants! The room was clean and functional. This is a 500 year old building with tons of character. The rooms have air conditioning and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent! There is no elevator but Fabrice carried our bags to our room. We highly recommend this great place!

We enjoyed our stay at La Banasterie. The room was ecletic but comfortable and nice with a lovely garden patio outside our door. We had a delicious breakfast each morning in the cute dining room. Well appointed and thoughtfully decorated. The owner, Tanguy, was very cheerful, nice and helpful with great suggestions regarding what to see and information on dining. He called for reservations and saw to it that we were well taken care of. We would recommend this hotel for a fun stay in Avignon.

We spent 2 nights at La Banasterie in Avignon and would highly recommend it! Fabrice and Veronique were just the kindest hosts and sat with us when we arrived to point out some top Avignon sites, give restaurant recommendations and a map of town. Their BnB is so lovely and cozy, with the prettiest decor and welcoming little courtyard patios. It was a real treat to stay in a historic French home like this! And their daily breakast was fantastic as well, with homemade yogurt, granola and jams, coffee/tea, juice, plenty of bread/croissants, cheeses and even an egg if you'd like. Overall, we really love our stay here and would definitely recommend to friends and family!

We recently stayed at La Banasterie B&B for 3 nights. The location is very close to the sights of Avignon, but is miles away from the hustle and bustle of the main drag. The rooms are unique and charming, with interesting appointments, and chocolates. The host is charming and helpful, especially with restaurant and shopping recommendations. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, yogurt, a lovely assortment of freshly baked goods, coffee/tea with hot chocolate available on request. A place I would stay at again.

Stayed there for a night. The guesthouse was lovely. A lot of character (building is very old) but done up perfectly. Hosts were very very very friendly! Location was just a turn away from the Palias des Papes. We were also given excellent recommendations for restaurants in the area!! Please do note that you can only check in after 4pm - if earlier; the hosts may not be home to welcome you.

Nestled on the picturesque island of Barthelasse, Mas Château Blanc is a stunningly restored 19th-century farmhouse that embodies the essence of Provencal charm. This intimate guesthouse features five beautifully designed rooms and suites, blending modern comforts with rustic elegance. Surrounded by lush greenery and mature trees, guests can enjoy serene mornings filled with birdsong and afternoons lounging by the immaculate seawater swimming pool. The property also boasts an orchard that supplies fresh ingredients for delightful breakfasts.
We had a wonderful experience at Mas Château Blanc, other than it being too short a stay (2 nights). The villa is stunning and impeccably decorated and appointed. Breakfast is delicious. Fabienne is a fantastic host. The location is peaceful, with very beautiful grounds. Still, we were less than 10 min drive to Avignon (you must have your own transport). We would love to go back on our next time in the region. I can't think of any negatives, but be aware there is no restaurant on the grounds so meals need to be outside (this is probably obvious for most).

Basic but everything one could ask for. We walked from the central station and had a pizza and beer rather than going back out. In the morning, we walked to the central bus stop. Good experience with the hotel. Room is clean , pool is great , the food in the restaurant is really nice , we had the steak and the grilled octopus and the wine by glass is good too. Plus point , they are very kind to give an additional sides for the kids menu to my kid . The staffs are very friendly too . I rate it 5 stars because I feel the current 3 stars average is not reflecting the actual rating, I really believe they deserve more. I would definitely come back if I were to make a trip down south again. :)

The hotel is well located for my business trips to Avignon. Also if I wanna go downtown by car or public transport. Plenty of on site car parking available. The rooms are off a good size, but the carpet has his best years behind. Gym machine was defect and the one treadmill not enough.
Simon F — Google review
the bed lining gave me an allergic reaction, the room smelled like sewage , the bed lining was yellow, the towels were yellow and smelled like chemicals and waste and the bathroom was dirty and unclean
Bartol D — Google review
The hotel had recently been upgraded from a Novatel to Ibis Styles. The toilet was not working correctly as the cistern kept on filling up. Also, the plug in the bathroom didn't pop up as the linkage between the lever and plug isn't long enough. The pop-up bed for kids had a mattress where you could feel the springs through my body when laying down. The restaurant was ok. The pool table had no white ball, and the chalk was broken.
Train M — Google review
This hotel has no respect for your privacy. I typically prefer not to have my room cleaned during my stays and always hang the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door. Despite this, the staff still entered my room, moved my personal belongings, and cleaned without my permission. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable. When I spoke to the reception, they explained that if they see the "Do Not Disturb" sign and receive no response after calling the room, they will enter and clean anyway. What kind of absurd policy is this? I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. The franchise manager needs to be held accountable.

Although it was during the Avignon Festival, and the hotel was quite busy, it all went very smoothly. We received a VERY warm welcome from the gentleman on duty that day: he was so helpful not only sorting out our booking and room, but also keeping our belongings in the closet while the room was being prepared, giving us directions to the city. Awesome. The room was totally up to Ibis standards: super cosy and comfy. And the breakfast offered plenty of options, all delicious. The hotel is located in the outskirts of Avignon, 10mn walk from the last station of the tram lane. It's near a shopping center and a cinema. The surroundings felt safe.

We were worried that it would be noisy because of the proximity to the train tracks, but it was super quiet. Parking very convenient and with the hotel discount, quite inexpensive. Good breakfast. Best of all, the staff. They were all very helpful and charming. 5/5
Geoffrey W — Google review
I just stay one night, so probably could not assess their services fairly. The reception is very welcoming though. The location could not be better, just next to the station that traveller with luggage will find it a relieve, and the old city of Avignon is just across the street. The room is quite small but very clean. A nespresso machine is available in the room.
Soegianto A — Google review
Location is perfect if one doesn’t want to drag the luggage for more than 50 meters and the room was clean and sufficient for one or two nights. But Avignon is a very small town and the side walks are flat (not cobbled) so one can find other hotels within 500 meters if walking is not an issue. We didn’t take breakfast as there are cafes within 5 minute walking and it felt more French to eat outdoors.
Annie Z — Google review
In city center. Well located. Good breakfast. Just next to the train station. Friendly personnel. Parking at the train station park. A bit expensive but 20% discount available for hotel guests. And quite convenient for the people with a car

I might not have good luck this time. The bed of my room was hollow. There’s no water when I flushed the toilets. The shower gel was empty. The sound proof was really bad. I could hear door slammed early morning. The breakfast is fairly good but the coffee is very watery. The Expresso tastes like American coffee. BTW, please pay attention when reserving the train tickets. It’s next to Avignon Centre, not Avignon TGV.

Very easygoing and comfortable stay, lovely staff and quiet rooms. Slept so well and woke up basically in the middle of town ready for that fantastic french coffee!!

We arrived at this hotel at 11:00 PM on 25/07/2025 after having all our belongings stolen, including our passports, bank cards, and money. We were in a desperate situation and explained everything to the staff. They told us at the reception told us we could make an online transaction and showed us a confirmation by email. We followed his instructions and made the payment, but after that, they refused to give us a room or issue a refund, even though we had no other options that night. When we tried to explain, the man became aggressive, insulted us, and told us to take our bags and leave, in the middle of the night, knowing we were stranded and vulnerable. We had to cancel the transaction ourselves and were left outside in the dark without help. This was inhuman, unprofessional, and deeply upsetting behavior. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. No person in crisis should be treated this way.

Great location, in the very centre but Avignon is a quiet city. The rooms are a bit austere but very practical (plenty of storage space) and perfectly clean. Good bed. Friendly staff. Very good value for money. If the weather is good then I would not recommend the breakfast, as the breakfast room is a bit poky and you can easily have continental for less money sitting somewhere on a fine terrace.

We stayed for three nights in July during the Avignon Theatre Festival. We had a 2nd floor room that had windows facing the square and was down the hall from the breakfast area - and most amazingly the soundproofing was awesome. Literally, you could open the window and hear the street performers and crowds and then close the window and enjoy the quiet. On top of that the staff were friendly and very helpful. Oh, and the breakfast, their frozen yogurt machine plus breakfast pastries were great. Our first visit to a Kyriad location - but certainly not our last!
David S — Google review
This is a GREAT location. While you're right in the center of all the action, the rooms are situated so you don't hear any of the noise if you're trying to get some rest. The staff are largely fluent in English and super friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised at the price of breakfast considering what you get. They offer the typical French breakfast pastries, but also eggs, bacon, sausages - the works. The dining space is also in a cute, quiet little nook, which is another plus. Would definitely stay in the future.

Regina Hotel Avignon is a small and charming hotel located in the heart of the city. The staff is known for being friendly and welcoming, making guests feel right at home. The rooms are simply furnished with amenities such as flat-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi. While some areas may need a bit of touch-up, the overall experience is delightful, especially with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The hotel's breakfast offers a wide selection of pastries, specialty breads, cakes, and jams.
This was a great hotel for the cost and our needs. Location was in the center of Avignon and yet it wasn't a far walk to get to the train/bus station for outside of town attractions. The room was of good size, offered both a couch as well as a desk and additional chairs for seating. There was a refrigerator, water boiler with coffee and tea supplies, as well as air conditioning that worked well. The area was very busy but the room was insulated well and road noise was a minimum. Blinds were dark enough and closed well enough that we were able to sleep past sunrise and the available breakfast, albeit for a fee, had several options to make both myself and husband happy plus endless coffee, what more can you ask? I will say that the croissants were cooked on site and on several occasions, were a bit overdone but still edible. Staff were lovely and very helpful and the reception desk was manned all day and into the evening hours. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

Good location with walking distance to Papal palace. The economy room was very basic and tiny. The room was clean and AC worked great. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. The nearest parking was 5 minutes walk away and I don’t not recommend bringing heavy roller suitcases due to the cobble stone streets.

This is a very basic room in an old old building. Very clean, but a fellow traveler thought it was unacceptable (she's really sort of a snob). Rooms are very small but perfectly okay for a place to lay your head after being out and about all day. Very reasonable rates if you're not too fussy. Great location in the center of town!!!

Hotel is in a great location. The room was sufficient and clean. However, there was mold or mildew in the bathroom that caused me to become very sick. You could smell it instantly when you walked in the room. The hotel was very hot but was told that the air would not be available until May. I was there the end of April and it was hot. It was in the 80s outside but warmer inside. Their policy of no air conditioning until May should be changed. If it’s hot in April then air conditioning should be available. Please check for mold and remedy before someone else gets sick.

My suitcase was stolen out of the hotel’s luggage room when I stayed in January. I watched the CCTV footage of someone stealing my suitcase and walking out of the hotel while the staff watched. I reported it to the police and filled for insurance with the hotel’s insurance company. But now they will not respond to any emails about when I can get reimbursement. They have not answered any emails for months.

Moldy shower. Used napkin in the coffee bar. Dirty mini fridge. If you value cleanliness please avoid this hotel. We were horrified by the state of our room & bathroom.

The hôtel calls itself a boutique hotel. In reality it is closer to a youth hostel or a student dorm. No service, no design, decoration and style is incoherent. The pricing was abusive. We left the place immediately.

Brilliant location. Used this hotel as our first stopping point on our roadtrip and it was lovely. The receptionist was so helpful and informative; there is ample parking and the rooms were so spacious and airy. We had a lovely window in our room that was huge. I needed an iron and the lady at the desk had it all ready for me to collect and use. Housekeeping also so friendly. Location is perfect: walking distance from the town centre but far enough to have some peace.

Perfect, just what we needed. A lovely old-fashioned really French hotel. With the essential modern touches of a lovely hot shower, very good Wi-Fi and a delicious breakfast. We slept really well and the Reception staff and the breakfast staff were absolutely charming. Merci!!

Quaint hotel in central Avignon. Friendly team who gave us a very warm welcome Walking distance to local sites The hotel does have a limited number of car spaces across the road. It needs to be booked in advance (email) and is suitable for small vehicles

A wonderful welcome. Friendly and very helpful staff. Rooms were comfortable and well appointed, but a little small. Breakfast was a treat. A good selection of food, regularly replenished. Excellent location although a little tricky to find, via the city gates. Important to reserve a parking space in the nearby garages.

Stayed here September 2023 as part of a 'Ramblers' walking holiday. Very pleasant family-run hotel, the atmosphere of which contributed in no small part to our overall enjoyment of our tour, which one of the chain hotels would not have done. Nice rooms, good standard Continental breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff (who spoke English well!). The location just inside the Avignon city walls was good for exploring the city, and was around a ten minute walk from the main bus and train stations. My only 'wish list' items would be for tea & coffee-making facilities in the rooms, and room safes. Thank you, Hotel Le Magnan.

Overall it was fine, as it was about what I expected for the price. However, the parking situation is not ideal (this can be said for all of Avignon). The first night they had a spot reserved for my use, which cost about 16 Euros after "tax", but the second day the receptionist told me to move my car because there was not enough room. This was questionable to me because there were some empty reserved spots later in the evening, but I was able to find another spot across the highway and it did save me some money. While it is located within the city walls, it's literally right on the edge and not in a very popular area, so at night it felt somewhat sketchy. They also lock the lobby door at night, so that might be saying something about the area? Also the rooms just had a door handle lock and no dead bolt or additional lock, and the halls were very dark at night. As far as comfort goes, the mattress was equivalent to a college dorm room. Decor was very basic, but the interior overall was clean. The water for the shower did get very hot and the water pressure was adequate. There were not many options available within the city when I stayed, probably because it was just before the festival, but I can tell you that I would not stay here again.

Garlande Hotel Avignon Centre is a very charming hotel with comfortable rooms, free WiFi and satellite TV. It is located in the heart of Avignon on a pedestrian street, just footsteps away from some of the city's most important attractions. The staff are incredibly service-minded, offering valuable tips on things to do and places to eat in the area.
The hotel was not less than amazing! The host Stephan was very kind and helpful and gave us great information and tips for all our trip in Provence. Breakfast was also very delicious and all pastries were made by Stephan’s wife. The location in just perfect. Thank you so much Stephan! We highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

Loved our stay here - a very quaint little hotel and we really liked our room which had a nice view of the street outside. However the floor of the room is not leveled, and has a very clear slope which made me feel tipsy. This is primarily because the hotel is in a heritage building, so can't do much about it. The couple running the hotel are very kind and sweet, we chatted with them almost everyday during our stay (right from where we can get some spicy food to tarot cards!). We also received recommendations on where to go in the Provence region and what activities we can do within Avignon. Even though we didn't have time for it all, whatever suggestions we were able to implement was worth it. The instructions we got on email were extremely good and saved us a lot of hassle! The service is therefore a masterclass in hospitality. My one tiny complaint was the breakfast but i think that's more of a me-issue than the hotel because i found the food a little repetitive and bland. It's all homemade though so i made sure to eat well! But the hot chocolate and coffee i had here was the best! The location is amazing, beautiful streets nearby with lots of restaurants and cafes and shops.

Stunning place to stay due to position in the old town. Feel part of the village! Thank you to Clemence for his suggestions. Take the time to enjoy the hotel breakfast before a day walking and exploring the old streets. We particularly loved visiting the town market (look for the parking lot on the map) and grabbing lunch and wine for a picnics over the river. Viva La France! C’est magnifique!

Great location just outside of central Avignon in the beautiful village of Villeneuve, a short walk to great restaurants. Folco is a very welcoming and hospitable host, preparing the best breakfast you’ll have with a selection of local fruits and cheeses etc. Lovely property with expansive peaceful views. Not far from central Avignon and the option to drive to nearby sites.

We had an unbelievable experience staying here. The property is gorgeous from the beautiful room, views of the city, quiet neighborhood and the pool in what felt like a “Secret Garden”. Folco was a kind and attentive host who went out of his way to ensure a comfortable stay. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. We highly recommend!!

My favourite place on my recent road trip around France. This chambres d'hotes was incredible - gorgeous grounds, an authentic, rustic aesthetic that felt so genuinely southern French, spacious, comfortable rooms, and a beautiful view overlooking the Rhone towards Avignon and the Palais des Papes. Our host, Folco, was the definition of welcoming and courteous - he graciously spoke English to my partner and I, showed us to our room, helped us with our bags, gave us restaurant recommendations and assisted with a reservation, and provided great service during the amazing breakfast he put out every morning. He deserves all the credit in the world. Not only is the location beautiful, but it is ideally located to explore Avignon and Villeneuve-les-Avignon. The latter is only a ~10 minute walk, and is a gorgeous old French village that has really retained it's charm and character. Right by this village is the spectacular Fort St Andre, that shouldn't be missed! You're also just a 5 minute drive to the Avignon Park and Ride; from there, you're just a 15 minute walk to old town Avignon, and all the amazing history, architecture, and art that city has to offer. I hope to return to Avignon one day, and when I do, I would definitely look to stay here again.

Hotel Colbert is wonderful. Spacious and clean rooms, location perfect. No elevator is the negative I would not for people with mobility issues otherwise everything was perfect. The Hotel Dog Bunny was so sweet!

A simple, clean room in an excellent location to explore the ancient city. Our host was informative and engaging, and breakfast was excellent, with the offer of even more, had we been hungrier. Close to good restaurants, shops, and of course the exploration of the inner ancient city, it was also remarkably quiet. I loved the film and art posters with which it is decorated.

The hotel is quirky but does everything perfectly; Clean, spacious room(no.1), good shower, super comfy bed etc. Breakfast was in the courtyard and was an assortment of all sorts but it just worked. A beautiful house in a nice upscale neighborhood near Avignon. The house contains a beautiful garden, a beautiful swimming pool and most importantly; sympathetic owners who greet you with a smile on their face. You can park here for free and you are in the center of Avignon in a few minutes. An important point that I want to dwell on is the perfect breakfast that is prepared every morning by the lady of the house. I know from experience that the French are not very good at breakfast and they often compensate by providing very good lunches and/or dinners, but D'or Les Anges proves that the French can also be very good at breakfast. 5 stars for these people!

Mathieu and his wife were wonderful hosts and their guesthouse was an absolute highlight of our 28 day trip! The guesthouse itself was impeccable and our rooms were appointed with everything one could ask for while travelling - the detail and room styling was exquisite. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, beds were super comfortable and the garden and pool area was a stunning place to take breakfast, relax or have a swim! We took advantage of everything La Maison Grivolas had to offer - in particular, Mathieu's superior knowledge of Avignon. His advice on what to see and do was always on point, and for the last night he made a reservation for us at a beautiful restaurant to celebrate our time in Avignon and surrounds. The breakfast daily was a particular treat with the freshest, homemade produce and the joy of having a traditional French breakfast to start our day. I cannot recommend La Maison Grivolas enough, and look forward to my next visit! Thank you so much Mathieu! (Translated by Google) The accommodation is really very good, located right near the old town. The hosts are very nice and help with parking. We had a VW Passat, and the car shouldn't have been much bigger. Despite its proximity to the old town, it's very quiet, and the rooms are good. The many mosquitoes in the room weren't pleasant. The cleaning staff kept opening the windows to air the room and, of course, left the door to the room open while vacuuming, so they kept coming in. The Wi-Fi at the very top of the room was horrible. A repeater is definitely needed. The breakfast was okay, but it could have been much better. There were slices of dry white and wholemeal bread that definitely needed to be toasted. The croissants were of varying quality. The cheese was very good. The dog was always interested in the food, but always kept his distance when you asked him to. Overall, a good stay. Da muss unbedingt ein Repeater her.

(Translated by Google) This is an amazing apartment even for one night. Part of the apartment is a 16th century building. Very interesting design, friendly owner, who bought us some drinks and candies, which I successfully pocketed :) The owner also recommended several places for us, and they were all simply amazing!
