Nestled on the serene banks of Loch Faskally in Pitlochry, Fonab Castle Hotel offers a luxurious castle hotel experience with 42 beautifully decorated rooms and suites. The rooms are equipped with modern amenities like smart TVs, Nespresso coffee machines, and indulgent hospitality trays. Some rooms offer unique features such as Loch views, turret seating areas, original fireplaces, and vaulted ceilings.
Very beautiful castle and property with a rich history. It’s been converted over to a beautiful fairly modern hotel. Our room was very large and comfortable and the surroundings are peaceful. It’s very convenient walking distance to the village of Pitlochry. The staff were excellent and made sure our stay was wonderful. Highly recommend staying here.

I'd say my review is more of a 4.5 star. The staff was incredible and made you feel like family - particularly the concierges Stephen and Mark, as well as, the bartender, Oliver (Ollie). Shout out to Ollie for making THE BEST cocktails as well. The food was VERY good, but the service was quite slow whether it was dinner or breakfast. Also, it wasn't always accurate. Seems like each meal there was something forgotten. The rooms could also use a re-fresh and tidy. All that being said, I would absolutely stay there again. The setting on the loch is idyllic and it was a very wonderful stay!

If this is Fonab’s idea of a “tranquil spa experience,” I’d hate to see their version of chaos. My boyfriend and I paid £120 and drove an hour and a half for what was meant to be four hours of peace and relaxation and got about 30 minutes before it turned into a children’s pool party. A man and two kids came charging in to the pool/jacuzzi area with water toys and guns, shouting and splashing it honestly felt more like our local leisure centre pool than a luxury spa. When I complained, the receptionist basically shrugged and said, “He’s a member, there’s nothing we can do,” and apparently, this is a weekly occurrence every Sunday morning. So much for a relaxing spa, more like family fun hour! To be fair, we were told the outdoor hot tubs weren’t in use but we still paid full price, which only added to the disappointment. On top of that, the spa itself is looking very tired and clearly in need of some serious maintenance and care. We left after an hour, money wasted, morning ruined. It then took over a week for anyone to respond and a ridiculous seven weeks of chasing emails to finally get my refund. Overall, completely misleading, poorly managed, and nowhere near the “luxury tranquil escape” they advertise. Save yourself the disappointment as there’s nothing relaxing about this place except leaving it.
T P — Google review
Nice hotel and the surroundings are lovely. Staff tried really hard to show that they are a higher class hotel. Our woodland lodge was nice but had a funny smell when walking in and was really cold but soon warmed up when putting the radiators on. No air conditioning so when room gets hot the only way to cool down was a £5 small fan which was disappointing. Nice enough room but not worth the money paid for the night as I travel a lot and can compare. Love the Spa area and the pool, so big plus and the lady colleague there was very pleasant The bar area was disappointing. I asked for a IPA that I buy at Tescos for £1.70 and was charged £9 plus 15% service charge. £10.50 for a low quantity Joker IPA !!!!!??? I understand prices be higher in a nice hotel but you would expect a higher quality products. 15 % service charge is not great. The price wasn’t on the menu for that product so in fairness i should have asked but never thought they would charged that. Tried to put a charity charge on my bill which I am ok with depending on the charity, if I had been asked the ok but not just putting in on about when it’s about saving trees! so that annoyed me. I would paid it if I was asked!! Overall I enjoyed my visit and the hotel and I would recommend to visit if you get a deal but with the value for what I got compared to other hotels then I would have to think hard before I go again but if there was a discount then I would consider. Keep up the good work and revisit your prices as you might get more volume rather than trying to push high margin. Pay premium prices then your products and food need to be top notch, not just because your classing yourself as a high class hotel

rating based on price - beautiful setting, and felt special/fancy. a few notes: given the caliber of hotel was somewhat surprised by what felt like slight understaffing (for instance, had to wait 20 min in the lounge and notify people we were there before anyone showed up to take order for afternoon tea; no one at breakfast when we arrived; longish wait to check in behind just one person because no one else was working the desk, no one available to drive us to the train station with our luggage etc). with that said, fantastic views, everything high quality, pool and hot tubs were lovely, worth a visit if affordable and def feels like a treat
Liza E — Google review
This five star review is really for Concierge David who really gave great service. He picked us up from the train station and made my mom smile and laugh several times. This was worth more than the stay for me since we had recently lost my father. Anything that could make her happy made me happy. Also when anything was amiss in our room he was always the one to show up! A jack of all trades. Unfortunately, I didn't have access to change during my stay to give him a tip directly and wanted to show my appreciation by letting everyone know that he really is a big part of what makes Fonab a 5-star hotel.
Joy J — Google review
Magical setting, third tier wildly overpriced hotel with service ranging from acceptable to laughable. Has to be reviewed contemplating cost and the relative value is very poor. Average smallish rooms, shower water pressure lacking with all other elements unremarkable. You’re staying in a nice house by a river for the price of a stunning castle. The service in the restaurant suggested that the entire staff had been under trained with tableware loudly laid down and removed. Main course delivered with the mumbled announcement of “ cod”. They were going through the motions. We had stayed at a real castle the night before that literally couldn’t be compared for the same price. The

Our stay at Fonab Castle was an absolute highlight of our trip. We were fortunate to stay in the penthouse suite, which was stunning — spacious, luxurious, and with incredible views. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond. They were attentive, genuinely friendly, and even provided us with a ride into town, which was such a thoughtful touch. The spa experience was fabulous. We enjoyed relaxing massages, swam in the pool, and spent time in the hot tub — the perfect way to unwind. We also loved exploring the grounds, especially the hike along the river to the loch, which was both beautiful and so much fun. Throughout our stay, the staff made excellent recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. Every interaction felt personal and warm, making us feel truly cared for. Fonab Castle combines luxury, comfort, and incredible hospitality. We can’t recommend it highly enough and would return in a heartbeat.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Pitlochry, Knockendarroch Hotel & Restaurant offers an elegant stay in a plush Victorian country house. The hotel boasts 12 uniquely decorated rooms with a touch of tartan and stunning views. Guests can enjoy Scottish dining at the upscale restaurant, known for its gourmet offerings made from the finest local produce.
Absolutely gorgeous property. We had a lovely balcony room with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast and dinner were both quite good. Parking was a little tough because we arrived late in the evening and spots were taken by people eating at the restaurant. Location was perfect with just a short walk to the main part of town. I saw other reviews complaining about the walk, which I don’t understand because it was quite lovely and brief. Will stay again if we come back!
Julia L — Google review
We went for dinner and what an experience that was. We were first put in the sitting area and served pre-dinner drinks.at the same time we were given the menus and wine lists to peruse. After taking our order we were able to enjoy the comfort of the room before being taken to the dining room. All of the food was excellent as was the service that accompanied it. All I know is that if we are in the area again we will eat there and in the expectation that rooms are available we will stay there as well. We were super impressed.

We stayed for two nights in August for my birthday. Room was down alot of stairs in the other house. Were not aware of this as I have mobile issues as waiting on an operation. However room was lovely no complaint. Our family were camping in Blair Athol so on check in were asked if we would like to book dinner. After saying about the family and said we would be dining with them both nights attitude changed. Came back early to have a night cap before turning in,only to find no bar as such. Only a lounge full of sofas which put you in mind of an old folks home. Needless to say we left. First morning for breakfast, after ordering our fruit came. Then they forgot about us. We had eventually to ask. No apology. When toast came it was burnt. Should have sent it back. The full English was the smallest I've ever had and the potato scone was a very small pancake. Second morning I had a tummy upset and needed to use the ladies. Out of order and no alternative. Had to leave hotel and go back outside down all these steps to our room. Not acceptable. We paid well over the price, double the price from previous week. But we thought we were going to a lovely hotel to relax with a drink after a busy day with family but how wrong were we. We would not recommend this hotel . Too many no parking areas as well. Even in hotel grounds.
Elizabeth P — Google review
Absolutely beautiful hotel. Our room had the most stunning view overlooking Pitlochry. The room was spacious and comfortable. Staff at the hotel was very kind and our breakfast was great. A close walk into the town. Only complaint is that we wish we had spent more time here!

A superb and beautiful hotel. The rooms were beautiful as were the furnishings throughout , food delicious and service very good. Highly recommend. Went there with my cycling friends who thought the same!

It was a fantastic experience to stay at the Knockendarroch Hotel. Dinner and breakfast were superb; bed extremely comfortable; showers hot and powerful. But absolutely the best thing about staying here are their wonderful staff. Special thanks to Paige, Morgan, Jessie and the other lovely young Australian lass whose name we missed - who made our stay special.
Brendan C — Google review
Good room, good food with inconsistent staff. Jessie was friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were good, not great. We had hoped for better.

Craigatin House is a charming B&B located at the southern end of Pitlochry, just a short walk from restaurants and shops. Housed in a historic stone Victorian building originally built for Queen Victoria's daughter, it has been completely renovated by the current owners. The main building and its annex offer spacious rooms with en-suite bathrooms, such as room no. 6 in the main building and room no. 10 in the annex.
Such a gorgeous setting. The room was so pretty, shower was powerful and the detail on the tea/coffee tray was lovely. The gardens are the perfect place to relax during the day and a perfect distance walk to the town. Breakfast choice was fantastic and great options for veggie, vegan and gluten free, when I asked they gave me all the options. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much for them. Gary was the perfect host and is so keen to get feedback, which is so refreshing in this sector. We will definitely be back and recommending to anyone travelling to Pitlochry.
Rebecca M — Google review
We had a lovely stay—the views, gardens, spacious room, perfect showers and cozy comfortable bed were especially wonderful. The breakfast, (breakfast lunch and dinner rolled into one plate)- highest quality, best coffee in Scotland. So peaceful so friendly and that is not the complimentary high-end rare Single Malt Scotch talking! That was especially a treat to relax in the living room, overlooking a beautiful garden with so many hues of green and gold, sipping that little magic potion.👍 Thank you

We had a very relaxing and peaceful time at Craigatin House. The property is in a great location, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was 10/10. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, creating a warm and homely atmosphere. The house has a lounge area with a fireplace and complimentary selection of whisky. Would recommend if you are looking to wind down and get away for a few nights. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!

This was our first stay at Crsigatin House. Our host Gary was amazing from the outset. Friendly, very helpful., explaining everything about the B&B which is located off the road, so no noise. The gardens are beautiful and the lounge area within the main building is very well appointed with a modern cathedral style ceiling with the warmest wood burning stove for heating. Very comfortable settees and seats are also available. There is ample parking off road. Gary recommended places of interest and local venues for eating etc which were excellent. Our room was on the ground floor and was beautifully appointed. Immaculately clean with all the usual requirements for your stay. This is certainly the best B&B we have ever visited. Go on give it a try, you certainy wont be disappointed. Well done Gary and staff. Well done Craigatin House B&B.
Thomas M — Google review
Can’t say enough about Gary and his staff. They went out of their way to make our visit memorable. One of our travelers fell and twisted her ankle and they were so helpful and kind. The location is perfect-a short walk to town but a bit off the road and very quiet. Grounds are lovely, rooms beautiful and clean. There is a lovely lounge area where the 4 of us met each evening to talk about our day.. And the breakfast is amazing! Highly recommend.
Liz H — Google review
Absolutely loved this place. Very cozy and warm! Great staff, incredible views, top rated breakfast- best black pudding I ever tasted and the whisky porridge is a must try. Location is great - very close to the train station.
Fatti G — Google review
Absolutely top banana. Staff superb, well greeted on arrival, shown breakfast room and lounge area with log fire. Room was excellent, shower/bath room stunning. Breakfast was amazing and best plate of porridge ever served up
Wee D — Google review
The whisky, brown sugar and cream porridge sets you up for the day. It is not licensed but there is a large enclosed area with a log stove with wine glasses so you can bring what you want to drink. There us no TV, you can stay in your room and watch TV but you can sit in the lounge on cosy seating and read and talk with the other residents, share experiences and local knowledge if you have it. They also leave 3 bottle of whiskies abd glasses for the usage of guests

Whilst visiting this summer we ate here as a family of four.... great place and would thoroughly recommend! Large selection of drinks and the menu was great for our two kids. You can't book a table but we were welcomed in very swiftly with no problems on a Saturday evening - will definitely be back!
Mina A — Google review
Room was spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly and top notch service. Food prepared on the spot was delicious. Bar area was very busy but the atmosphere was good. We've stayed in most Pitlochry hotels in our lifetime but we'll be staying here from now on.
JAMES A — Google review
We didn’t stay here but ate here. Good food - tasted lovely but portion sizes were sadly lacking. Just shy of £23 for fish and chips. Price is fine if the portion sizes are good but sadly they were very disappointing. Tiny portion of peas and very small pot of chips. Fish was quite small. Soup was £10.45. Served hot and tasted lovely but one very small piece of bread. For that price more bread is needed at least. Won’t be back to eat I’m afraid.

We weren't staying at the Old Mill ( on this Occasion) but I would Highly Recommend Eating 👌 here, it's a very busy Place, and understandably so.... It is a Fabulous place to Enjoy a Great Eating Experience...Local produce is readily available on the Menu, ( PLEASE NOTE 📝) The old Mill doesn't Accept Table Reservations, so there will be a Waiting Time, given as you ask about Table Availability, and Credit ( Where CREDIT IS DUE) it was very, very busy Saturday Evening, The Tower was Buzzing, the Enchanted Forest light show was on...and the Old Mill had a Live band from 9.30pm... Our meal 😋 was Absolutely Delicious, prompt and Attentive Table Service ( just perfect 👌) Thank you so much for a Fabulous 👌 Evening.... Russell, Angela and Lorraine.....❤️😋🥩🍗🍻🍖 Steak, Chicken and Salmon, Superb portions.....

A lovely dinner at The Old Mill Inn. No need to book a table as you just pop in. We did and were seated straight away. Staff are friendly and attentive. Lovely dishes on the menu to choose from. Ordering was so easy, with staff coming to take our food and drinks order at the table. The wait for both our drinks and food was not long. My friend had the Sunday Roast and I had the Butter Chicken Curry. My friend enjoyed her Sunday Roast, the curry was nice but if I was to come again then I would order something else.
Jennifer C — Google review
Really nice place to eat. A little pricey for what we were looking for during a camping trip but we found there was wood fired pizza on offer which were really delicious. Sat in the garden area and watched the football in the sun. Really nice atmosphere and the rest of the food off the main menu looked great from what we could see so I will be back to try it.
Drew K — Google review
We recently visited this restaurant on a Sunday and opted for the Sunday roast. While the location is great, especially the outdoor seating, the meal itself was a big disappointment. The beef was chewy and dry, the gravy was flavorless, and the potatoes were dull and unappetizing. We might consider returning to enjoy the atmosphere outside, but we won’t be coming back for a full dining experience. My advice would be to skip the Sunday roast and try something else on the menu instead.

The food was exceptional. The service fantastic. My chicken with haggis and root veggies was delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was definitely made from scratch. So delicious. Thank you.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Atholl Palace Hotel! The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The views and the grounds are absolutely breathtaking! The hotel itself is full of charm and history and the atmosphere is cozy and peaceful. My room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel has all the amenities you need and the food delightfully delicious! From start to finish, everything about my stay was perfect! I can't wait to come back.

I loved this palace. The food I have to say was incredible (the chef is amazing). From the afternoon tea (which was great!) to the breakfast buffet was just perfect. The room was beautiful, new and clean. We had an upgrade which we were quite thankful for, and the palace itself was amazing.

The hotel is amazing! Set is beautiful countryside and walking distance from the main drag. The rooms are comfortable and they have wash cloth as well as hair conditioner for Noeth Americans. The food is amazing and breakfast buffet has something for everyone. High tea at the hotel was a great experience.

Stayed here last weekend beautiful hotel with stunning gardens and views. We booked a superior room which we got however had to contact reception as they gave us a basic room in error on our arrival. This was sorted quickly. Staff are very friendly and the food and service was excellent. Lovely spa facilities. This hotel is of a very high standard, would highly recommend. We will definitely return.

From the moment we arrived after a ten hour drive to Pitlochry we were warmly greeted & welcomed. It hit us immediately with the ambience & calmness of the palace and made us feel very relaxed in the tranquil setting. The service we received throughout the seven night stay was nothing short of superb. Cleanliness was to the highest standards. The food was mouth watering on every occasion. The vista & gardens are breath taking in this beautiful location in Scotland. The palace building itself holds a magic that is timeless in it's history. The architecture is amazing and the interior superbly furnished with plenty of space with warm fire places to completely relax. Our heartfelt thanks to those members of staff who went the extra mile to make our time at Atholl Palace so special, Kate, Laura & Marius. We also had the pleasure of meeting the new manager and wish him well in his new appointment. Thoroughly recommended. Steve & Jacqueline.

A special thank-you to Catherine — you were truly amazing! From the very first meeting to the last dance, you made everything run so smoothly. Your organization, kindness, and calm energy let us truly relax and enjoy every moment. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or team to celebrate our wedding!

Great hotel, in fact it's massive.. A place that you Immediately feel at home, liads of places to sit and relax, open fires. The staff were all great and the breakfast was excellent (self service). Evening meal was superb, we ate in the bar but no issues whatsoever. Our room was large. Superbly comfortable bed and great views over the garden. Excellent pool and jacuzzi with spa. Loads of free parking. Situated in a massive 50 acre site with woodland walks and many other outdoor activities weather permitting. Great hotel, happy to return.

From arrival to departure I found all staff to be professional, considerate and willing to go that extra mile for their guests! Atholl Palace is so much more than a hotel, it is a home from home - just wish I could have squatters rights! The food is ALWAYS fantastic and the hotel is beautifully decorated in keeping with its history. The spa is very restful, clean and well maintained. I had two wonderful massages during my recent stay and I came home VERY relaxed. The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful, sitting outside taking on the views or even the stunning views from my beautiful room - WOW! Really didn’t want to leave! Sincere thanks to all the wonderful staff- you are all absolute gems!

Loved everything about it here. Our room, the breakfast, the hosts, the location…everything. Highly recommend this lodge. We stayed in a room inside the main house and no detail was overlooked. We felt welcomed the moment we arrived and had no complaints during our stay. This was our favorite place we stayed while in Scotland by far.

This beautiful lodge sits on a knoll just outside of downtown Pitlochry, so it was an easy walk into town for dinner. Our room was pleasant and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and there was plenty of hot water for a wonderful shower after a long day hiking. The bathroom products were some of the best I have ever used and contained sea kelp so I felt very relaxed after my shower. The breakfast was amazing. I had the French toast and bacon (it is more like American ham, but even better). Staff is very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this for a nice place to stay in Pitlochry.
Sharon C — Google review
Beautiful setting close enough to town centre (10 minute walk) but far enough away to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and spectacular views. Our car never turned a wheel throughout or 2 night stay. We booked a superior room which was huge. Lovely decor. Warm and cosy and beautiful bathroom. Enjoyed the small touches - bathrobes, coffee machine, biscuits and bottled water. Room was spotless. Use of lodge itself was only for breakfast. Lodge was beautiful.. Breakfast was exceptional. Huge amount of choice. Staff attentive and friendly. A lovely picturesque setting to start your day. We would certainly describe this as a luxury 5 star accommodation and experience. Will certainly book again for any future visits.

This accommodation is a real find. It is in a beautiful setting, minutes away from the centre of Pitlochry. The superior room in the courtyard, with balcony, was spotlessly clean and spacious. Staff were attentive and the owners were on site. The famous breakfasts lived up to their reputation, with a wide menu catering for all tastes. The breakfast room itself has lovely views. All in all, a place where you can relax and enjoy.

Once again, we had an outstanding stay at Craigmhor Lodge. Spacious, clean and comfortable room with an even more comfortable bed. Shower was large and hot with quality toiletries included. Staff couldn’t be more helpful, welcoming and with a smile. We have tried various places in Pitlochry and Craigmhor Lodge tops the list by far. Thank you and see you next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our return visit to Craigmhor Lodge, our favourite place to stay in Pitlochry. We were given an upgrade to the master suite, very much appreciated. It is a beautiful, spacious and very comfortable room. Loved the little extras that are always provided and replenished every day……Tunnocks Teacakes and Strathmore mineral water. Breakfast is an absolute highlight, with a superb choice of dishes all expertly cooked and presented. We look forward to returning in 2026.

Fantastic place. Gordon and the other staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Gordon's fluent German was a delightful surprise! Rooms are very clean, bedding was comfortable, bathrooms very clean with high shower head. Our stay was very quiet. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious with a great view - they offer great options that have something for everyone. Fresh fruits, yogurts, cereals, porriage, custom full scottish breakfast with blackpudding and all. The grounds are lush with hundreds of flowers. There even was a pheasant in the garden one morning! Would come again.

The Claymore Guest House is an excellent place to stay. It’s right on the main street in Pitlochry, so everything is within easy walking distance—just a couple of minutes to a charming local pub (The Auld Smiddy Inn) and plenty of shops. Gordon, the host, is welcoming and full of great recommendations for things to see and do in and around Pitlochry. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and nicely decorated. Breakfast is excellent, with plenty of options, all freshly prepared and generously served. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. We loved our stay and would recommend coming here.

Great place to stay, nearby lots of walking paths, good restaurants. Breakfast was outstanding, with good coffee, many choices and friendly staff. For me the bed was too soft, but that is personally. Would recommend the place.

I stayed at the Claymore Guest House for 2 nights in late September. I found that on checkout day, I was actually sad to leave, which is not an experience I generally have at lodgings! The owners were super friendly, the location was great for exploring Pitlochry, and breakfast was wonderful. You leave a sheet at reception marking which items you want for the following morning's breakfast, and they're served hot and fresh. It's worlds better than the "continental breakfast" that is typical for lodging breakfast in the States (and that I also received at lodging elsewhere while visiting Scotland). The staff also helped me call a taxi and gave suggestions for local walking routes.

This is a must stay place. The owner and his wife go the extra mile with being great host. We had a bad tire and Gordon, the owner, helped us contact and set up a repair. He informed us of events as well as provided a fantastic breakfast made by his wife. The staff was great as well.

We’ve just left Pine Trees after staying for 3 nights and I want to go back already!! We’ll be booking again for this time next year. What a beautiful hotel. The interior decor is stunning throughout all of the buildings. Our room was so comfortable with the addition of a balcony overlooking the hills - stunning. The staff were great, made it feel like a home from home and when they discovered it was our honeymoon made sure there was a card in our room and other little treats. Made it feel really special. We also got some lovely fizz at the bar, compliments of the bar manager. The meals were delicious, I’d recommend the smoked sea trout with eggs as the 2 oils that are on the plate are outstanding. Dinner menu is beautiful. I had the quail one night and beef shin the next - I can’t rate it highly enough. Great selection of wines too. Thank you to all the team that made our toner there so special.

We spent one night here and the experience exceeded expectations. The room and the views are amazing. The building is beautiful and there are many cozy corners to relax in the common areas. We also had dinner at the Fauna restaurant and it was excellent! The best of the experience are the people working there. The ladies at the reception desk are incredibly friendly and Heather at the restaurant looked after us so well! During our stay we've received so many gifts we felt spoiled! Thanks everyone for a wonderful stay, we will be back 😊

I had one of the best hotel experiences ever during my stay here. From the moment I arrived, everything felt perfect. The staff were incredibly warm, professional, and genuinely caring — always ready to help with anything I needed. Their hospitality truly made my stay unforgettable. The room was beautifully cozy, spotless, and thoughtfully designed with attention to every little detail. The welcoming drink was such a lovely touch, and the breakfast the next morning was outstanding with fresh, delicious options for every taste. Everything I needed was available — truly a place that understands comfort and quality. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay. I will definitely be returning! 🌟

This hotel was the absolute highlight of our trip through Scotland in terms of accommodation. Even though all the hotels we stayed at during our holiday were truly excellent, this one clearly stood out. What we loved: Exceptionally friendly staff throughout. From the first contact at check-in to the farewell, every team member was consistently courteous, attentive, and genuinely warm. The design of the recently renovated hotel is stunning. From the outside, it looks like a stately home, while inside it features many tasteful design details and a very cosy, harmonious atmosphere. Our room was also beautiful, with warm, ambient lighting and lots of lovely touches. The food – both dinner and breakfast – was absolutely excellent. What could be improved: The dining room is spacious, and the hotel was by no means fully booked. Still, all guests were seated quite close together, even though there were many free (and set) tables available. That was a bit of a shame. At breakfast, it took quite a long time before we were served, as only one staff member was present and they were not particularly fast. Overall: Our stay at this hotel was an absolute delight, and we can recommend it wholeheartedly. Next time we're in Scotland, we will definitely return to the Pine Trees Hotel!

We stayed in 2025 in the heather bank accommodation. Incredible rooms (recently refurbished), fantastic highland hospitality, staff were very helpful. The location is fantastic, in amongst the big beautiful trees in peace and quiet. The village is just a short walk away and is lovely to visit.

We stayed for one night at Pine Trees Hotel and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. At check-in there was construction at the only entrance, and the front desk staff was on the phone for several minutes without acknowledging us. When she did take us to our room, she rushed through, forgot to give us our keys, and offered no explanation of amenities or the property. The room itself was comfortable and the shower products were great, though access was a bit confusing with several staircases. Dinner at Fauna was the real letdown. We felt rushed from the bar to our table before our reservation time, were seated at the least comfortable table despite the dining room being mostly empty, and service throughout the evening was disorganized. The wine we ordered couldn’t be found, staff were visibly scrambling for 15 minutes before finally telling us, and then it took another 10 minutes for the replacement bottle to arrive. My husband’s ribeye was excellent, but my braised beef was dry and missing the bone marrow it was supposed to come with. Our server did not explain the menu, and we ended up with four types of potatoes by mistake. After dinner we waited 15 minutes to order drinks while the bartender chatted with another guest. The whisky tasting my husband ordered was supposed to come with chocolates, but staff only told us they were out after running around for 10 minutes. They offered a £5 discount but no real apology. The accommodation was fine for the price, but service overall felt rushed, unpolished, and inattentive. With some adjustments this could be a wonderful experience, but unfortunately it wasn’t for us.

Fantastic. We stayed at the Coach House with our 1 year old and our dog for our anniversary. I couldn't recommend this hotel more. The location is amazing, the rooms are big and the food is great. Lots of free snacks and drinks.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely bed and breakfast. Steve was very helpful and made us feel at home. The rooms are clean and cozy, equipped with a tea station and snacks, as well as a mini library in the hallway for sharing. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Parking is available and there is a small gift shop. Next time I will definitely make a stop in Pitlochry just to stay here again.

A beautiful view of the Scottish hills and countryside from this very comfortable Bed and Breakfast. Rooms are welcoming and bright with all the comforts ones looks for - comfortable bed, nice seating area for looking at the mountains, a clean and bright bathroom. Staff were friendly and breakfast was good. It's a short walk to the main street but set back so you have some peace and quiet too. Parking is easy, though we walked from the train station. Consider staying here on your stop in Pitlochry.

We stayed as 7 adults, a 2 year old and 2 dogs. Genuinely couldn’t fault the place. Rooms were beautiful, beds were comfy and all the little touches around the place were fabulous - like games in the Lounge or hot water bottles to help yourself to. The breakfast experience was 10 times better than most hotel experiences I have had. Stephanie couldn’t have done more to ensure our mornings were lovely and the facilities provided for your breakfast were incredible - she was amazing with our little girl and provided a colouring book, stickers and a reading book - Billie (our little girl) was thrilled! You could have breakfast here and not have to eat again all day! Steve was so helpful and an excellent communicator throughout. If we come back to Pitlochry, I doubt we will go anywhere else. Thanks again so much for the hospitality, it has been some of the best we have experienced in a long time.

Stef and Steve could not have been more warm & welcoming! 😁Room ideal; bed super comfy; breakfast tasty and garden platform perfect for viewing the hills and eating a cheeky, mouth-watering ice cream ‘tablet’ from Scotch Corner in! The ‘secret’ short cut to the High Street from the garden is great too! A real wee gem of a stay - thank you! 🤩

My daughter and I had an overnight stay at Tigh Na Cloich recently, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in the Pitlochry area. Stephanie couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming on arrival, which was a lovely start. Our room was very comfortable, and had everything we needed. The breakfast was fantastic! Pre-ordering system worked very well, and again Stephanie was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is close enough to the main street of Pitlochry for easy access to amenities, but distant enough to be removed from the bustle of activity. It was a shame we only had one night to spend at Tigh Na Cloich, but we would love to return! Many thanks Stephanie and Steve!

Nestled in the charming town of Pitlochry, Dunfallandy House Hotel offers a serene retreat in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Just a stone's throw from iconic landmarks like Blair Castle and Scone Palace, this hotel is perfect for those looking to explore the rich history and stunning landscapes of the area. Guests can enjoy well-appointed accommodations featuring spacious rooms that blend classic elegance with modern comfort. The inviting garden, shared lounge, and terrace provide lovely spots to unwind after a day of adventure.
We had a lovely stay at Dunfallandy House — a charming period property with tons of character and a peaceful atmosphere. Jack and Holly are incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts who went out of their way to help us feel comfortable. The house has a relaxed, niche hotel vibe with simply furnished and comfortable bedrooms. Our room was quiet and restful, with a very comfy bed and a thoughtful tea tray complete with a welcome gift of fudge — such a lovely touch! The food really stood out served in their newly refurbished, quirky bistro — a fun and memorable dining space. We enjoyed excellent pizzas and tasty, affordable bar snacks like chicken wings and fish finger sandwiches. Scottish sticky toffee pudding topped off the meal perfectly - much needed comfort food after a day in the saddle. Breakfast was delicious – both full Scottish options and salmon with avocado available - and set us up perfectly for the day. The location is peaceful and ideal for unwinding, with the historic Dunfallandy Stone just a short walk away. We couldn't help but think it would also make a great venue for small weddings. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing Highland escape with warm hospitality and great food.

We recently had a truly wonderful stay at the Dunfallandy House Hotel in Pitlochry. From the moment we arrived, the owners, Jack and Iris, made us feel incredibly welcome—they are absolutely wonderful hosts! The hotel itself is lovely and charming, and the breakfast was a true highlight. It was absolutely perfect, beautifully prepared, and set us up perfectly for our days of exploring. The attention to detail and quality of the hotel were outstanding. They were absolute stars with our young daughter. Jack and Iris run a fantastic establishment, offering genuine warmth and excellent service. We can't recommend Dunfallandy House Hotel highly enough and look forward to returning on our next trip to Pitlochry

Wow! Incredible experience of a life time!! First the recently 200 year old purchased and renovated manor house estate is perfectly situated in a meadow with sheep and rivers nearby to watch and enjoy, on your private walk to one of the most picturesque towns in Scotland. The Scottish Highland Games were just ending on the day we arrived. We got to see plenty of men and woman in Kilts and enjoy the festivities. The bagpipe music was my favorite! The hosts of the manor Jack and Iris, are gracious, informative and knowledgeable not only on Scottish history and culture but have traveled the world. The impressive whiskey bar, cozy fireplace lounge with huge leather chairs, hidden game room filled with a group of fun men from Germany, just to name a few. Most unique was a Great room TV theater room with huge screen, for Netflix, or whatever you want to watch. We watched Outlander! The host brought us drinks, while we watched. You are within a short walk to one of the most quaintest towns in Scotland. Don’t miss eating at the Old Mill restaurant. There are 14 eating places to choose from. The shopping was great for souvenirs and tweeds and plaids! The beds were made up beautifully with each bedroom having different colored traditional plaids, after a wonderful shower jumped into our most COZY bed!! Very comfortable. I’m pretty picky too! The breakfast was choices of a traditional Scottish breakfast and a yummy avocado, salmon, poached egg on toast. The best hot chocolate I have ever had. Iris mixes both the most amazing drinks and the food presentation was wonderful. I can’t say enough!! The greeting from when we enter to checkout was one for the record books. If someone finds fault with this place they are either negative by nature, not into history, our not experienced in the world. We will be back but stay longer when we come. Extra bonus was the backyard covered patio complete with 2 fire pit tables and chairs!!! Our only mistake was not staying 2 days or longer.

My mother, sister, 2 of my children and I all stayed at the Dunfallandy House in 2 separate rooms. The rooms were clean and beautiful and the hosts were very accommodating. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and exploring the area with the old Dunfallandy Stone. The breakfasts were wonderful and quite a few nights we ordered from their bar food menu. We loved the pizza, chips, and chicken wings! We didn't rent a car and took advantage of the Elizabeth Yule taxi service. Great memories were made at this beautiful house! Thank you Jack and Iris!

If your looking for a quality stay at a good price in Pitlochry then look no further. This beautifully renovated Georgian mansion is nestled in a tranquil location 5 mins from the town centre. The owners Jack and Iris will make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Breakfast is 1st class, there's a top quality whiskey bar and Iris makes the best tablet in Scotland.

Absolutely beautiful Scottish hotel, full of character and run by the lovely Jack and Iris who were so welcoming and catered to any needs. The bar was amazing, with an impressive selection of specialist whiskey’s and fun board games to play through the evening with a group. The bedrooms were clean and well kept, again full of character. Breakfast was also delicious! Such a beautiful location amongst the hills of Scotland, just a few hundred metres from The Tay. Thank you, Jack and Iris for going above and beyond with your beautiful hotel- we will be back for sure!

Highly recommended, we stayed at the beginning of this week and enjoyed it so much we have returned at the end of the week. So friendly and welcoming, the evening pizza was very tasty. Lovely stay and the loveliest people. Holly was waiting for us, when we arrived, and they were so prepared for us and our 1-year old with a cot in the room and with a high chair in the breakfast room in the morning (they serve a delicious Scottish breakfast!). Jack took us for a scotch tour in his impressive bar and even gave us some very special samples of rare scotch. Wonderful and can highly recommend. ❤️

Saorsa 1875 is a charming Victorian-style hotel located in Pitlochry, offering relaxed rooms and a cozy lounge. Situated near Bells Blair Athol Distillery and Pitlochry Festival Theatre, the hotel provides easy access to nearby attractions. Guests can enjoy amenities such as complimentary wireless internet, a garden with picturesque views, and gift shops. The hotel also offers wedding services and features a fireplace in the lobby.
My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights in the “red deer” room and enjoyed our time. The room was cozy and the bathroom had a spacious shower with the most beautiful tile. My only input for our room would be to maximize the space a little better since it was a bit cluttered making the room feel small. Now the star of the show was the food. Every meal was absolutely delicious from breakfast to the 5 course dinners. The food changed daily and was always a hit. I’m also picky with my wine and loved their selection. The entire staff was wonderful and always so helpful and attentive. Would absolutely come back!

Amazing hotel and loved our stay with our wee dog. Felt very welcome from the moment we arrived. Very friendly staff. Cheeseboard on arrival was excellent. Cocktails in the bar were very good with my favourite being the black spout. We had the 3 course menu which was excellent and a pleasant surprise given that the menu is quite ambiguous which we really loved. Made the meal exciting and great that you get what the kitchen is preparing that evening. Breakfast in the morning was also great and service brilliant. We stayed in the puffin room. Very comfortable and clean with everything you need. Very easy to get to all attractions in pitlochry and surrounding with the town centre a short walk away. My only disappointment was that we didn't stay longer and look forward to it next visit. Thanks for a great stay.

AMAZING stay at Saorsa 1875. We stayed for 5 nights in the hotel and had the most relaxing time. Food & Drink - absolutely incredible, and some of the best food I have ever eaten. The breakfasts were filling and a great way to set up your day, and the 5 course meal was incredibly inventive and flavourful. My meat eating partner was amazed by the flavours and textures in the food, and has considered veganism himself since our stay! The hotel lounge/bar is a very nice relaxed area, with some lovely cocktails! Service - couldn’t have asked for a better experience here. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming, and gave great recommendations for the local area. They all seemed very passionate about the hotel & food, which added to the experience. We were well looked after and felt a part of the Saorsa family by the time we left. Room - we stayed in their ‘Lynx’ room, which was a very spacious and well equipped room. The decor is modern but in-keeping with the style of the building, and the bed was super comfortable. Surroundings - the hotel itself had a lovely little woodland walk and outdoor seating areas that were very relaxing (when it wasn’t raining!). It’s only a short walk into Pitlochry town where you can spend a few hours shopping & dining. We ate at a few restaurants & pubs during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Of course there are many local walks and great views to be seen nearby. We will be back to stay at Saorsa any chance we get, and thoroughly recommend a visit - vegan or not!

Yuri F — Google review
As a vegan and animal rights advocate, I was so excited to find a hotel that aligned with my values and offered a fully plant-based experience. The commitment to being a vegan hotel is a huge plus and something I genuinely appreciate. The hotel itself has a wonderful concept, and the decor is charming and the woodland area is nice. However, our stay was unfortunately let down by a few key issues. The service felt distracted, and we had to wait to check in as the staff were too few and too busy, meaning that after a 7 hour journey we didn't feel very welcome. We were also disappointed by the small and slightly underwhelming breakfast offerings (my husband was served a very small pot of granola and an even smaller slice of toast with beans). While it's great to have a plant-based breakfast, the variety and portion size could be improved to match the hotel's high-end ambition. The breakfast is also not served until 8am, and as early risers, this is too late for us so we rushed in order to get back on the road. The biggest frustration was the unexpected overcharge for our two dogs. We believe a hotel with a strong vegan ethos would be more inclusive of animal companions. The hotel's response to our query felt dismissive and didn't align with the welcoming, compassionate spirit we expected. On the website it states the charge of £25 for dogs, not per dog or per stay, and on querying a charge of £50 for one night bringing our dogs, I was told this was my error as I hadn't booked for two. There was no way to add extra dogs when we booked, and I hadn't even considered they would apply this charge twice. Additionally, the noise from other guests and music from the bar late into the night was quite disruptive, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep when we had another long drive the next day. All in all we were at the hotel for just over 12 hours, there was nothing special to make it welcoming for our dogs, so the £50 charge felt very unfair and unclear. Overall, while the hotel's core values are fantastic and the idea of a vegan hotel is something I fully support, the execution fell short on several fronts. With more attentive service, improved breakfast options, and a more compassionate approach to animal companions, this hotel could truly be a standout destination.
Michelle M — Google review
Hope you stop tarnishing the concept of veganism. Disappointed and over priced. The overall experience is not as good as their marketing. The breakfast is limited and NOT FRESH! There are many oblivious bad blueberries in the porridge, cannot imagine this is from a healthy theme hotel! The bath tap is broken, they just ignore the report and did nothing. Not very recommending. Added: I rarely leave comments and even more rarely leave negative reviews, but seeing you, as hotel professionals, not only failing to improve but repeatedly denying guests' negative experiences is truly disappointing. 1. Your much-praised breakfast offers tiny portions—guests can only choose two from options. Even was denied to service a small extra of pudding. We paid £300 for this kind of service and breakfast? If guest pay 80 pounds, I will give you 5 stars but it costed 300 per night. And I don’t understand why you take pride in only having self-service toast basic things 2. The showerhead was broken and the water pressure was extremely weak. I’m not the first guest to raise this issue—what are you still trying to deny? Hope you stop tarnishing the concept of veganism.

We booked this fine dining restaurant and the hotel two months in advance for four people. Upon arrival, the restaurant informed us they only had a reservation for two. The manager has promised to “resolve the issue,” so now we’re waiting at the bar to see how professionally they handle their own mistake. It will be very interesting to see how this situation is resolved — and of course, we’ll be sharing the full story on TripAdvisor, where attention to detail and customer care clearly define a restaurant’s reputation.

The food was outstanding, we could never fault it, the service by George was amazing and faultless I am going to be totally honest I didnt think the pod was worth £75 the linoleum was creased, the windows were dirty! I think it being a special birthday and only the 2 of us ( A couple) they could have reduced the price.

We booked Sandeman’s restaurant 3 weeks prior to our trip to celebrate our 42nd anniversary. On arrival, we were taken to the Brasserie instead of Sandeman’s. I asked what was happening and showed them my confirmation email. They said they were unable to honor the reservation as they were overbooked. Then they offered to show us the restaurant we could not eat in. What a slap in the face. Shane on them. Never to return!

Guests can enjoy views from the terrace and garden, as well as complimentary wireless internet access.
We've stayed in the Fishers hotel a few times now and each time has been a really positive experience for us. We are a couple in our 40's and had booked a double room for an overnight stay to attend the enchanted forest event which was on in the local area. As has been the case on each occasion, we received a warm and friendly welcome from the staff, they took time to explain the dinner and breakfast arrangements and on site parking etc. Our room itself was clean, with all the amenities you'd expect such as tea, coffee and shower products etc. The hotel appeared to be having some upgrading done during our stay, but this really didn't affect our experience at all, however I'm sure it'll be beautiful when finished. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel, both of which were well organised and easy going which a good variety of options to choose from. There was only one negative to our whole stay and that was the parking. We have an electric vehicle which we placed on charge upon arrival. The Fishers website states it's a flat rate of £30 for overnight charging, however when the car charging was complete, we were on our way back from the event just before 11pm and I got a text to alert me that I would now be charged 25p per minute whilst I remained plugged in for a 'idle charge fee'. By the time we returned, it was just under £7 over and above the original £30 I'd paid through the app. I understand the hotel may not be responsible for the chargers, however I feel they should make guests aware of the additional costs rather than advertising a flat rate fee. If we had been further away, this could have ended up being very expensive for us. We also tried to remove our car from the space after returning back to the hotel to free it up for other drivers, however there were no other bays free and every other electric one had non electric vehicles parked in them despite signs requesting not to. Parking aside, we definitely enjoyed our time in Pitlochry and would have no hesitation in returning to the Fishers Hotel again in the future.

Pleasant enough hotel, containing rooms with beds in. Our room was moderately clean, but the bathroom was rather tired, with the bath side showing wear and signs of water damage. Slight smell of cooking grease permeating the corridors. Afternoon tea was fabulous, and reception and wait staff all very pleasant and helpful. Location was OK, and easy to find - slightly irritated by a £5.00 additional parking charge on top of hotel's own bill.

We were here last night. Room was lovely and the staff were superb. The only issue we had was the dining room which was postively baltic! The waitress explained the heating was only turned on at around 5pm. Considering the temperatre that day. It appears that was too late. However We kept our coats on and the meal itself was gorgeous.

Fantastic location right in centre of town, close to all attractions, restaurants and also the railway station if arriving by train. We got an upgrade to a "Deluxe" double room which was nice gesture. However I'm sorry but although room was very clean and bed was really comfortable it really does need a refurbishment. The blinds on windows were all badly marked and the shower screen in bathroom has been retro fitted as it cannot give a watertight seal due the handle on the bath itself so lots of water ends up on the floor. It's a shame as i feel with the right amount of money spent on this hotel it could be an absolutely gem as everything is there it's just let down as it feels really tired and in need of updating.

This hotel is not 4 stars. There were several people waiting in the lobby at around 5.30pm waiting for keys as their rooms had not been turned down yet (check in is at 4). Decor is the halls is dusty. Had a shower this morning, I use The Highland Soap Co at home, it’s nothing like the stuff they had in the bottles at Fishers Hotel. The shower gel made me itchy all over and the conditioner was watered down and lumpy. 4 star hotels don’t water down the conditioner. If you visit this place and you’re not from Scotland then this is not an accurate representation of the soap which is usually extremely high quality.

Did not find reception welcoming, while they offered drink they never smiled and certainly was not a warm welcome. Rooms were spotless but decor dated. Couple of wall sockets in room not working . Pillows were awful and hard as nails. Bed comfortable and room warm. Sitting in reception area having drink in evening and told bar closing 1030. Not just that while enjoying our drink a gentleman going around tidying up and sorting furniture like we were being rushed to drink up. Breakfast was lovely but more like a canteen and very clinical. Overall I would not chose this hotel to stay in again as overpriced, needs an update and staff could be much more welcoming to their guests. Dissapointed.

Pleasant staff but etiquette not great. Had issue with barman who saw me standing at bar and proceeded to serve a man (French spoken gentleman)who asked about what beers were available, although all on show, the barman pointed to each one and named them, although easy to see label, afterwards the gentleman ordered 3 drinks- 1 beer 2 whisky, his company stood behind him (8 people ) waiting next to be served. I asked for my 3 drinks- the barman then looked at company to which I said I allowed 1 gentleman to be served in front of me, but not another 8. I was very angry and disappointed. Room was some distance away- although told it would not be in main building, the room was at least 4 set stairs and 8 fire doors to get the room-, not ideal. Breakfast was good, staff were nice. No scottish staff.

The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel is a grand Victorian hotel offering contemporary rooms, a restaurant, pool, sauna, and gym. It's one of the options for upscale accommodation in Pitlochry alongside other notable establishments like Atholl Palace and Fishers Hotel. While some find the hotel a bit dated, the staff are friendly and helpful. Guests can enjoy clean rooms with comfortable beds and pleasant garden views.
We just enjoyed a two day stay. The hotel is cosy, clean, welcoming. Staff was lovely, friendly, helpful. Food was lovely, fresh, reasonably priced. The bar was also reasonable, enjoyable area to enjoy a couple of drinks. The sauna, jacuzzi, pool is very relaxing. Nice relaxing spa music playing softly in the background. The hotel is ideally located to explore pitlochry. Loved our stay definitely recommend, hopefully be back soon.

The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel is a building that immediately evokes a sense of former glory. Its stately, old-world charm is evident from the outside, and this feeling continues as you step inside. The interior is a fascinating and sometimes quirky mix of old and new, where ancient door knobs and well-worn carpets sit alongside modern amenities like a television and telephone in the rooms. The building retains its original character, right down to the windows, which are single-glazed and add to the authentically ancient feel. While the overall ambiance is one of stepping back in time, this also means the hotel can feel a bit cold and has a distinct "old building" smell. Unfortunately, the spa was also closed for maintenance during my visit. However, the hotel offers some wonderful features. The outdoor patio is a fantastic spot to sit and relax, and the bar is a welcoming space, occasionally featuring live music. The hotel also boasts a massive car park, which is a definite plus.

Don’t read the negative reviews. Lovely hotel, great facilities, including indoor pool. I choose this hotel due to the parking facilities, big car park outside and at the side of the hotel. Great value for money, clean rooms, staff were great. Breakfast was small but good selection of hot and cold foods. The restaurant is a bit outdated and so is the bar area could do with being done up a bit. The changing rooms for the pool are extremely clean but could to with being updated. Enjoyable stay and looking forward to staying again in the future.

This Hotel has seen better days. We stayed for two nights and had to switch rooms in between because our first room reeked of wet dog, there was mold in the bathroom, the window didn’t open and the water pressure was non-existent. The second room was better but the interior still a bit old and shabby. Not worth the price value! Only good thing was the friendly staff who was always very helpful and understanding.
Rieke B — Google review
I booked a couple of nights here as a last night minute getaway, kind of relying on the 'Hydro' brand as a guarantee of a decent hotel. On checking in, the reception staff were polite and welcoming, if seeming a little flustered for some reason and gave us our room key. The reception areas and hallways seemed clean enough, but the decor was very dated, almost to 1970's level. The room- relatively comfortable, but like the reception and hallways, very dated. I turned on the main light and was treated to the sight of a lightshade, absolutely packed with dead insects. The main light didn't get used again. The shower had very low water pressure and struggled to get above warm despite being turned to the hottest setting. I was told this was due to demand from guests when I raised it with reception, but this seemed to be the normal working for the shower at any time. Breakfast the next morning was a usual buffet style cooked breakfast and whilst plenty on offer and edible enough, was nothing particularly astounding. We spent the rest of the day in the town which is only a 10 minute walk down the hill from the hotel, but we agreed between ourselves to give the hotel breakfast on Sunday a miss and source food elsewhere. We returned later in the evening having eaten in town, but decided to get a drink at the hotel bar. As I've said the reception staff were friendly enough, however this was let down by a male member of bar staff who could barely bring himself to speak to my partner or I as we ordered drinks, making us feel like we were an inconvenience for having dared ask him to serve two drinks. I'm sorry to say that, as a result, we won't be booking the Pitlochry Hydro again.
Mick T — Google review
I am writing this review primarily because of my experience in the restaurant. I am known as being pretty hard to impress, and I have to say that our food was amazing. Both my husband and I ate the entire meal (even though the portions were very generous) because the flavour was so good. We ordered seafood and risotto which can be tricky to pull off and it was perfect. Yanis offered fantastic service along with the rest of the staff. I was initially a bit nervous because some reviews were a negative about the food- but I have no idea what those reviewers are talking about. Perhaps just a bad day?. We were so tired and didn’t want to leave the hotel so we stayed and ate and are so glad we did. The rooms however leave much to be desired. But …. it is a 3 star hotel, and is very affordable, so I think it’s important to keep that in mind when disappointed. I probably would not stay in the hotel again- but would visit the restaurant over and over. Note: hotel staff were lovely

We stayed in a cosy double room, a wee bit dated and could do with a freshening up. Shower pressure not great. Lovely spa with decent sized pool and jacuzzi and a new sauna, there is also a gym which is small but has basics to train and I’ve visited here twice now and has always been quiet. Food is amazing! Breakfast and meal were top notch and staff very friendly and helpful. Specifically Celina is lovely. Overall I would recommend to stay here during a trip to Pitlochry only a 10 minute walk from the high street with loads of wee shop, cafes and restaurants and about a 20 minute walk to the Pitlochry dam. (If you have mobility issues please note there is a steep hill to walk to hotel from Pitlochry High Street. Good value for money.

We have stayed here before a while ago but this visit consisted of us visiting family to use the leisure facilities. The pool itself was lovely but unfortunately the changing rooms were completely inadequate for the pool capacity and the number of lockers available. 2 showers and 2 changing rooms, which meant waiting times. The showers themselves had very poor water pressure. We visited my parents room before we left and it was a shame to see what they got for the money they paid. The space was great with a separate seating and TV area, and a lovely 4 poster bed in the separate bedroom. However, they had to use a shoe to keep one of the sash windows open, crumbled grouting around the bath, where locks had been removed from the bathroom door and swapped for a handle, the gap had not been filled and looked really bad. The wardrobe also needs an update to keep in line with the room rating. Staff are very pleasant and always have been whenever I have stayed here or visited.

Scotlands Spa Hotel, located in the picturesque town of Pitlochry, offers a serene retreat in restored Victorian buildings. The hotel features subdued rooms and a spa with an indoor pool and exercise room. Guests can pamper themselves with massages, body treatments, and facials at the spa. The hotel's Atholl Palace Verandah Restaurant provides a delightful dining experience, complemented by attractions like the Japanese Garden and Atholl Palace museum.
After reading a number of poor reviews recently I was worried ahead of arrival. But I found everything agreeable. The staff were competent and attentive. The room was clean and comfy, it is very conveniently located to the village, free (limited) parking. Breakfast was fine, not bad, not fantastic. Did not use the spa facilities but the hotel part met my standards and expectations. While there is room for improvement, there is potential here and deserved a mention in light of the recent low scoring reviews

Location, Pitlochry is lovely. The hotel leaves a lot to be desired. It's not as described. I booked two rooms at a cost of £644 for two nights which was probably average. I would have expected far more for the money. The hotel is a dump. The rooms are dated and dirty. I was rang on my way to the hotel to be told that the pool was unavailable due to high chlorine levels, really. How does that happen. No apology given. I had booked the hotel specifically for the pool as my granddaughter had travelled with us. I am writing this review whilst at the hotel. I'm sat in my partner's room which is like being in a greenhouse due to the thermostat on the radiator being useless. Hopefully someone who can make some changes will read this and get their finger out and spend some money. Do not book this hotel it's not fit for purpose.

My wife and I stayed at Scotlands Spa Hotel on 23rd-26th September it was absolutely filthy. Cobwebs on a lampshade in the games room were there on Tuesday night and still there on Friday afternoon despite informing reception twice. There was bird feathers on a carpet in a corridor on Tuesday when we arrived at 12.30pm and were still there on Thursday morning. The source of the feathers was a dead bird which had clearly been there for a while. Dead bird got removed and the staff solution was to pull the blind down. Again reception were informed. In our room there was dust all over the dressing table. A stench in the bathroom and pubic hairs on the floor behind the toilet. On the day we were leaving my wife spotted a large stain on the side of the mattress. She pulled the sheet back and we found another large stain on the mattress. Absolutely disgusting. My wife returned from the Spa Hotel with Impetigo which she didn't have when she arrived. I emailed the general manager the day after we returned to inform him of our concerns regarding our stay. I sent him photos to prove what I emailed was true and he agreed that it was totally unacceptable. We will never set foot in that hotel again.

The hotel was by no stretch bad but the value for money wasn't there. We paid over £230 for one night which obviously was hiked up due to the enchanted forest being on. The room itself was okay but not £230 ok. It was clean but aesthetically could really do with some maintenance as there was huge bubbles in the wall paper and a hilariously huge gap under the door which I could get my entire hand through. The halls on the other hand were exceptionally outdated and 'patched in' with bits of plaster everywhere. Dirty door next to the lift on the 2nd floor and they had wrapped or papered over the lift which was also bubbling. Upon arrival, we stood at the reception / bar which isnt very clear nor professional looking. One of the blonde ladies from the spa checked us in who was fantastic but when the actual receptionist showed up ( woman with dark hair and glasses), she just let the lady from the spa do it all whilst she sat there. She did however offer a discount dinner voucher for their sister hotel which was nice. We used the pool which was fantastic, great area and facilities and the pool and jacuzzi are toasty! Absolutely loved that. It looked clean. There was a huge pile of towels left from the night before still lying there in the morning which I moved into the basket. My other half said the men's was the exact same so there must be no cleaning overnight in there. Breakfast was fine, decent selection but one the staff was visibly angry/frustrated at another one. However, all staff who cleared the plates etc were very polite, prompt and professional. Decent sized parking but due to it being busy it might be hard to get a space. Overall, I probably wouldn't return

Really disappointed in this hotel. I had reservations to stay overnight but was given an emergency hospital appointment to attend meaning I couldn't make my booking. When my husband called to explain, he was very coldly told absolutely no refunds and only given the option to move our stay if we visited within the next couple of weeks - something we couldn't commit to at the time due to medical uncertainty. I understand terms and conditions, but having absolutely no human compassion is horrific. My husband was already worried enough about me and the person on the other end of his call made him feel even worse.

3 is maybe generous. It was a place to sleep. It was expensive. Very expensive for what it was and for the cleanliness. My money should have went a lot further. Saying that. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was good and I slept decent

We have just come back from a 4 night stay at this hotel. The hotel in itself is excellent the rooms are clean when you arrive. The staff are friendly The breakfast is a buffet breakfast with plenty to offer. The big draw back is the house keeping. It did not exist. After been out all day the last thing you want to do is to come back to an untidy room bed not made bins not emptied and nothing refilled like milk etc, this happened on three of the four nights we stayed. So on this i give you 3 stars. Might put me off going back. A real shame.
John H — Google review
Only stay here if you are looking for place for storage of bags and a car park. This is the worst accommodation me and my partner have stayed in. The windows wouldn’t close, my partner ended up sorting it after staff tried. The room smells and is outdated but most of all it is absolutely freezing. We checked in at 4 in middle of October and the room was baltic compared to the cosy reception area. We asked several times for the heating to be turned on and the staff were incredibly rude and need training on customer service, even at 9pm we still had no heating. We got put in a room just down from the dining room and by 7 you were up from the noise of everyone walking passed and talking. The swimming pool and spa facilities also weren’t in use. The location is amazing but you need it to be cause you will want to spend every minute of the time out of the hotel and in a cosy establishment.

The property features a sunroom and a garden where guests can relax and take in the serene surroundings. Conveniently located just off Atholl Road, this B&B provides easy access to the town center.
Absolutely tremendous value. Rooms are clean, very modern and have plenty of electricity sockets for chargers and so on. There is a great selection for breakfast both continental and cooked. 2 minute walk from the heart of pitlochry, was ideal for our trip to the Enchanted Forest. Would definitely book here again. Friendly staff as well.

Stayed here as part of group tour. Our room soared to among the smallest based on the outside view of the window. Overlooked the parking lot and needed a safety pin to hold the curtain partially closed to avoid direct view in but slow done fresh air. Staff provided a second fan and remade the bed without the duvet as it was particularly warm. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good though the same repeated daily. Off starting more than two nights it might get a bit bit boring. Friendly and accommodating staff! Location just beyond the center of town so very convenient. I would consider staying here again though certainly request a better room off the parking lot.

We absolutely loved this place — it was wonderfully cosy, just as we hoped. The rooms were spotless, though the strong smell of vinegar (likely from natural cleaning products) was a bit overpowering. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and the town itself was simple yet beautiful - perfect for anyone looking to truly disconnect.

Very good hotel. The location is perfect as it's very close to pubs and shops but in a quiet area. The outdoor area is very big and there is plenty of carpark space. Our room was refurbished not long ago and it was very big, comfortable and with plenty of windows. The room has all the amenities you will need, only missing: Conditioner, body lotion (both available from reception on request) and some herbal teas. Every corridor has a water machine available. Breakfast is very good with a small selection of gluten free cereals. Highly recommend it

This was our first visit to Pitlochry, and it certainly won’t be our last. We found this hotel at the last minute, as our trip here was completely unplanned, and we were pleasantly surprised from the moment we arrived. Service was outstanding right from the start. The gentleman at the front desk took the time to inform us of a powerful storm approaching and advised us to cancel any plans for the following days in line with weather advisories. His thoughtfulness and care for guests’ safety really stood out. They were also able to accommodate us for an extra night, which gave us more time to enjoy the charming, quaint town of Pitlochry. Our room was on the top floor — spacious, cozy, and very comfortable, making it the perfect place to relax after exploring. The hotel includes breakfast, which was plentiful and delicious! A truly lovely experience, made even better by the warm hospitality. Highly recommend!

Another comfortable night in the Arcasaid. The room had everything you could need, a much needed fan, coffee machine, dressing gowns and slippers, toiletries, even toothbrushes/ toothpaste should you need it. Staff very pleasant and a good choice at breakfast, we've stayed here before and we'll definitely stay again, many thanks.

Good size double room, excellent breakfast choice, quality and service. Very pleased to have the biscuits in our room replaced each day, odd though toiletries were not refreshed. Generally very clean but bathroom needs a little attention, with the ceiling needing mould removed and repainted. Pleased to have a seating/lounge area but it would be better with a sofa-bed, rather than a covered up single bed. Odd also, not to be able to open both bedroom windows, why is 1 marked 'do not open'? If broken, please fix it.

Beautiful old building, spoiled by the addition of what looks like a 1970s carbuncle of an extension. Like many old hotels of this type showing signs of ware. That said the location is good, on the edge of the town. Rooms are clean and tidy, bathrooms relatively modern. Goid size car park, which you can use if you arrive early. Breakfast is good, more than ample portions. The staff were friendly and polite. Worth considering as long as you do not want 5 star accommodation

My mother and I stayed in that B&B as our first step for our roadtrip to the Highlands and is was a great to spend our first scottish night there. There is a large parking, we were warmly welcomed and were offered help to bring the luggage up to the room. The room was really nice, simple but with everything you need (powerful hairdryer, shampoo, etc. Even some coffee, tea and biscuits) The breakfast is really amazing, it's like a restaurant. When we arrived, our table with the vegan/veggie menu was prepared. You can start with the small buffet (fruits, cereals etc) while they prepare the warm breakfast you choose from the menu. I had the Full Scottish breakfast in veggie version. My mother had the scrambled eggs. They were really nice people. There are two warm living rooms. Everything is super clean and it smells amazing when you enter the B&B. I recommend it. If you book from theit website, you'll have a discount.

The hotel is charming, well-located, and offers spacious, clean rooms with everything needed. Parking was available, directions to the room were clear even for our late arrival, and breakfast options were straightforward. The price was fair compared to other places in the area. However, the shower water pressure was very low, which made washing hair difficult. The avocado toast came with pre-made guacamole instead of fresh avocado, which was disappointing. At breakfast, the waitress checked on every other table but not ours, though the older gentleman who first greeted us was very friendly.

We stayed in their "King or twin, plus single" room which was probably the largest hotel room I've stayed it. Plenty of room for us to spread out our hiking gear while preparing for each day's climb of a local Munro. The staff were friendly and helpful, and unfazed by all our outdoor gear. Parking was easy, and the breakfast was great, including the avocado on toast.

An enjoyable stay at this quiet hotel. Food was very good and nice atmosphere. Bedroom was clean and bed comfortable. En-suite was small and could do with a refresh, shower water flow was poor.

Quality hotel with good deco. Our junior suite was big with a great shower. Unfortunately we had to ask for a single bed to be made up despite them knowing this when we booked.( should have 2 single beds as well as king size bed) Breakfast had to be pre booked the night before which is not ideal. Large but fried egg was overcooked. No fruit available but this could be a Scottish thing as we found this in other Scottish hotels No evening meal unless you book at least 24 hours in advance. A problem for us as we did not knew that far ahead when we would be arriving Nice town a 10 walk on a steep hill. Loverly location with lots pretty walks

Great room. we had the family room for a family of 3 and it was a great size and clean. the only downside was it was cold in the room and no way to turn on the heaters. breakfast was ok, not as many choices as you get in bigger hotels, and the staff gave us grief for changing our child's order.

Fantastic Hostel Brilliant stay at the Hostel. The rooms and communal areas all spotless and well equipped. The lounge is great, inviting and comfortable. A real home from home. Chris and his team are friendly, helpful and engaging. Definitely recommend staying.

Just a really nice hostel with a big kitchen, good stuff, a fair price and everything else youd expect from a hostel. It has a very nice atmosphere and doesn't feel commercial. The only thing they're missing is lockers (although the receptionist was very helpful and locked my valuables in the office for the night) and maybe a washing machine (they will wash, dry and fold your clothes for 10£ tho)

Pitlorchy Backpackers Hostel is fantastic! The location is perfect, making it easy to get around and explore. The vibe is super welcoming and laid-back, which makes it easy to meet other travelers and feel at home right away. The place itself looks great, with a stylish and comfortable setup that adds to the overall experience. Highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area!

Lovely facilities with free tea and coffee and a welcoming lounge area. Friendly staff always happy to help. Only x1 power socket located in room resulting in having to charge my phone elsewhere. Pack of mirrors in bathrooms. Car park challenging as a big motorhome tried to park there and there were limited spaces. It seems there is at least x1 space reserved for shop staff.

With room key you are safely in and out of dorm as unbothered as own room. The common room with self serve hot drinks all day, including hot chocolate, iis a great facility that you don't get in posher places. It that sets up mutual trust, thus the tablet holder I left in there late at night was still there after brek. It has nice views over the lively High St. Whether to park your baggage in there all afternoon as invited if you arrive before opening of check-in at 5:00 remains a matter of instinct. The online booking, asking me to estimate arrival time, then came through saying check-in from 3:00, so I was not expecting ! to find on arrival that reception would only open at 5:00 and, one at a time behind someone else, I would have the worry of doing the check-in quickly enough to go for my already booked 5:30 bus to Enchanted Forest ! But that bus pick-up is only a short distance away, within 5 mins, so there was still adequate time.

The place is well located and the staff is very accommodating. The facilities are ample and clean. I enjoyed my stay here and would love coming back again and again.

Nothing like internet there was 4adults and 5kids both rooms was freezing. Check in wasn't until 5pm what's the point asking us what time arriving when we had to wait 2hours before we finally got in.Double room window broken holding together with duck tape shower awful and the towels left where old. 8bed dorm was freezing the kids slept in there clothes and 2of younger ones slept with mam in single bed. Sorry not worth money if we found somewhere else we would've moved but we had the Enchanted Forest to visit.

Craigroyston House & Lodge is a charming Victorian B&B offering stylish rooms and a full Scottish breakfast in Pitlochry. The lodge provides cozy accommodation with complimentary WiFi and is conveniently located near attractions such as Scone Palace, Blair Castle, and Castle Menzies. With well-appointed bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and tranquil garden area, it's an ideal choice for couples, individual travelers, or families.
During our journey through the beautifull Scotland, we stayed for two nights in this lovely B&B. We were welcomed by the friendly owner. The house is gorgeous and the grounds are very well kept. The house is on higher grounds and we could go into town via a path through the gardens. Our room was on the highest floor and very spacious and very clean. With a separate bathroom. Lots of wallsockets which is always handy. The towels we got were a bit on the large side, but clean. The owner had lots of tips for us about sites to visit and things to see. Breakfast was very well organised, we had a menu in our room on which we could write our preferences for the next morning breakfast and it had a lot of tasty things to choose from. We had some nice chats with the owner and learned that they only started this B&B 18 months ago. We can only say they do a fantastic job.

Very comfortable and well appointed luxury B&B. Lovely clean and attractive room, with a super bathroom. Greg was so welcoming and had many helpful suggestions as to activities and restaurant choices. Breakfast was delicious, with many choices to suit all tastes. We really appreciated the wonderful location, adjacent to the high street and all amenities. Definitely will use again on future visits to Pitlochery.

Craigroyston House & Lodge was a beautiful B&B with a warm and welcoming host. It is within walking distance of everything that Pitlochry has to offer. I would recommend visiting during the off-season because the town was absolutely miserable in August. I expected crowds, but was completely unprepared for the hordes of tour busses and people in this town. That said, our host made several great recommendations for things to do, and he was absolutely wonderful. I would stay again during a different time of year!
Laura S — Google review
My first stay at a B&B, and it was amazing! The property is so gorgeous and well maintained. The rooms are really comfortable, and the service was stellar. Greg was incredibly kind and welcoming. On top of that, the breakfast was delicious and very filling. Would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back!

Awesome place. Greg and Susan were great hosts. We wish we had stayed here longer. Arrived later in the day and left early the next so we didn’t get it experience all that Pitlochry had to offer. A perfect B&B for Pitlochry! We were given great recommendations for where to eat and things to do around the village. The room was quiet, clean, and so very lovely. The parking was accessible and made it easy for our road trip.

We arranged for a car trip for 27 people at the hotel and it was like private house party. The rooms were lovely . The breakfast had a lovely selection and dinner was the same, All the staff were delightful and could not do enough for us. Also the family run business were great.

Had a great stay here in June 2025. Staff were very friendly, rooms were cleaner than I expected for the price, on par with much more expensive hotels. Sure the carpets and some high-contact areas of trim are worn, but nothing dingy and everything super clean.

The Carra Beag Guest House is a Victorian building with period furniture and fittings giving it a sense of old world charm. The guest house is situated in the small town of Carra-Beag in the Western Highlands of Scotland. The guest house offers accommodation in doubles or singles, and has a shared lounge, dining room and kitchen. There is also free parking available on site.
What a lovely place to stay. Our room was spacious and absolutely spotless. The included breakfast was delicious and incredibly great value. Helen and Mark are excellent hosts. The location of the guest house is perfect, you’re just one street outside of the hustle and bustle of the main strip but just a few minutes walk to transit and the shops. We have absolutely nothing negative to say about Carra Beag, it was for sure a highlight of our trip. Would highly recommend visits to Blair Atholl Distillery and Robertsons of Pitlochry while you’re in the area.

This is an ideal location to stay as its right in the centre of the town. A short walk and your in the heart of Pitlochry. This is our first stay here for 2 nights but we shall definitely be returning. Our breakfast this morning was superb. Porridge with honey and milk. Followed by a full breakfast with locally sourced produce. ( the haggis was particularly tasty). Our room was immaculately clean and lovely and warm. Beds are so so comfortable. Teas and coffee facility in our room. Also there's a small fridge. The lounge downstairs is welcoming with chocolate cake and sherry to try. All round a fabulous guest house 🏠.

Absolutely beautiful guest house, lovely period features and decor, comfy beds and good quality bed linen. Fantastic location near to the centre of Pitlochry but also slightly raised so beautiful views. The absolute best aspect of Carra Beag tho has to be Helen and Mark, the owners. They both immediately made us feel so welcome, nothing was too much trouble, just ask. They made our wee holiday, we were so relaxed and comfortable, it was perfect. Helen's cooking was outstanding, loved the three different cooked breakfasts we tried. Would highly recommend this guest house, it is a little gem and we are already planning our next visit in a couple of months time. Thanks again Helen and Mark.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A Fantastic Stay at The Carra Beag Guesthouse Stayed here on a fishing trip with friends and had an incredible experience. The Carra Beag has a beautiful garden with great views, and the building was being freshly redecorated — very well looked after. We were greeted by Mark, who was brilliant: friendly, funny, and super helpful. I stayed in Room 9, which had its own private street entrance — a great touch for added privacy. The room was clean, cosy, and full of traditional Scottish charm. Breakfasts were excellent thanks to Helen, with a great selection and flexibility to suit preferences. Even the shampoo and conditioner had a lovely whisky and honey nut scent! The best surprise was the honesty bar in the lounge — help yourself to drinks and note it down. It made the place feel like staying at a mate’s house. All in all, the best place we’ve stayed in Pitlochry. Highly recommended!

Our room was nice and big and very well cleaned. The bathroom was basically the size of another guest room. The heater didn't work but we had a small space heater to make the room feel warm enough. Beds were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was made to order and was very filling. I highly recommend the Scottish breakfast and the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. Our biggest frustration during our stay was parking. We were asked to park in the back and got blocked in overnight. It's mind blowing to me that they don't collect keys for cars parked at the front. Simply so that they can guarantee that guests could leave early, if they needed to. What if the people leave the room or sleep in? This might mean that if you park in the front row of the tiny parking lot, that you would be asked to wake up early to move. I was stressed out all night, hoping that the driver of the van who blocked us in would move in time for us to leave. We had to leave by a certain time so there was little to no wiggle room to leave late, so it was quite stressful.

This bed and breakfast is magnificent! The owners have gone out of their way to think of all of all of the small details a traveler would need. The room was large, the furnishings were classy and very refined, and the bathroom was huge and extremely well done. We were greeted with whisky (and handmade cookies) as each room is named for a Scottish Whisky Distiller. The common area and dining room were gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious. It was an easy walk to town. Highly recommend this place!

Croft Na Coille is exactly what I had pictured when I thought about staying in a quaint bed and breakfast in the Scottish Highlands. It's adorable, the room and view are lovely, the couple who run it are super friendly and welcoming. They recently renovated the bathrooms and they are beautiful, with a big bathtub that was so relaxing. It's tucked in a neighborhood so it's really peaceful. In addition, it's walkable to "downtown" Pitlochry, a sweet town with a bunch of small stores and restaurants, as well as to the train station that can easily get you around Scotland!
