A little island 20 mins ferry away from Xiamen. Popular with locals and tourists. As one of the first port opened for commercial trading in the past, the island is scattered with lots of buildings architecture of western influence. Almost every building carries its own story. I feel like i am in an entire different world while i am there. The only damper is the commercialised streets with local street vendors selling touristy items.

A peacefully place, only 10-15 minutes ferry journey. Be prepared to walk whole day through the history of conquering the island by many countries.

During my initial trip on 2019-10-24, I walked from 13:30 until the park closed at 18:00, and still had a lot of unseen area, which is why I returned on 2019-11-03.
