The Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum, established in 2013, offers a unique and immersive experience into the traditions of various tribal communities in the region. Unlike traditional museums, it allows visitors to walk through doorways and into rooms that showcase wedding celebrations, pots and pans, musical instruments, and more up close. The museum features a giant banyan tree at the entrance with branches extending throughout the gallery to provide shelter for different kinds of huts and homes.
The Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum in Bhopal offers an incredible journey into the rich cultural heritage of the state's indigenous communities. This isn't just another museum with static displays - it's a vibrant celebration of tribal art, customs, and way of life. The museum beautifully presents authentic tribal crafts, traditional implements, jewelry, and artwork that highlight the creativity and skill of these communities. What makes it special are the full-scale replicas of tribal homes with detailed wall art and decorations that transport you into their world. The thoughtful curation represents various tribal groups, each with their distinct customs and architectural styles. Modern presentation methods, strategic lighting, and narrative elements make the experience both captivating and informative. From elaborate wood carvings to meaningful paintings depicting ancient stories and legends, every corner tells a story. This museum successfully bridges the gap between preserving tradition and contemporary presentation. It's an enlightening experience for anyone interested in India's diverse cultural landscape - whether you're passionate about history, art, or simply exploring something different. The Tribal Museum offers valuable insights into indigenous traditions that deserve recognition and provides a meaningful alternative to typical tourist destinations.

Had a wonderful experience at the Tribal Museum! The entry fee is just ₹20 per person and ₹100 for photography — totally worth it! The place is beautifully maintained, neat, and clean. Loved how every corner tells a story and showcases tribal life so creatively. If you visit on a Saturday or Sunday, don’t miss the amazing food stalls — especially their Jalebi and Dosa, both are a must-try! 😋 A perfect place to explore, learn, and enjoy authentic local vibes.
Tamanna P — Google review
One of the best museums in Bhopal! This museum offers an enriching experience of tribal life, culture, and art. It beautifully showcases tribal artifacts, lifestyle, and full-scale houses that give a true sense of their architecture and traditions. The entry fee is nominal, and there’s a small extra charge for photography — totally worth it if you enjoy capturing unique cultural spaces. A canteen is available on the lower floor, and a souvenir shop is located right next to the entrance. One of the most fascinating parts of the visit is meeting real tribal artists from different regions who stay here to create and display their crafts. The on-site art gallery features stunning tribal paintings, which are also available for purchase. Parking for cars and bikes is conveniently located opposite the entry. Overall, it’s a must-visit place for anyone interested in culture, art, and photography.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 Stars – An Absolute Gem in the Heart of Bhopal! The Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum is honestly one of the most stunning and underrated places I’ve ever visited. It’s not your typical museum with boring text panels — it’s like walking into a living piece of art. Every corner, wall, and display feels alive with color, culture, and stories of the tribal communities of Madhya Pradesh. The architecture itself is fire 🔥 — super aesthetic, open, and modern but still deeply rooted in traditional design. The exhibits are so immersive — you don’t just see tribal life; you feel it. From handcrafted tools and ornaments to full-sized huts and artistic installations, everything screams authenticity and creativity. The lighting and setup make the whole place feel magical, especially in the evening. Plus, the staff is super friendly, always ready to share cool insights about the tribes and their art forms. And if you’re into photography — oh man, this place is a dream come true 📸 Honestly, the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum is not just a museum; it’s an experience. Whether you’re into culture, art, or just want to vibe in a beautiful space, this place deserves all the love and hype. Totally worth the visit! ✨ Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bhopal!

Loved this place! It feels like you have been teleported to a whole new different world. It gives old vibes with mud houses of different tribes. It also has a cafe. And the surrounding is very nice. Also besides the tribal museum there is state museum where you can visit. There is no charges for females. You can see old sculptures, coins, paintings, etc. Also you can have VR experience which needs extra charges as per the duration. Must visit if you are in bhopal.

I must say that Tribal museum in Bhopal is one of the most illustrative and amazing museum showing the tribal culture and life. It shows how tribal community is living in different type of houses, how they draw painting, how they celebrate their functions and how they play games. Museum has large galleries which are beautifully designed to give a real life showcase. One must have minimum 3 to 4 hours to fully explore the museum, there are also cultural shows by tribal community on specific times and date. There is also a good cafeteria there which serves food at very reasonable prices.

A very beautiful and well maintained place. It showcases the culture and heritage of the state's indigenous tribes. Beautifully displayed with vibrant colors. A must visit for everyone visiting Bhopal. One of the beautiful museums in India.

Upper Lake, also known as Bhojtal Lake, is a stunning 31 square kilometer artificial lake in Bhopal. Created over eleven centuries ago by Raja Bhoja, it offers breathtaking views and opportunities to observe wildlife. Visitors can enjoy boat clubs and tours on the pristine blue expanse with tiny islands. The lake is surrounded by hiking trails and the Van Vihar National Park, home to a rich variety of birds and animals.
Very beautiful place in Bhopal, we can say it's a identity of Bhopal, You can walk peacefully arround lake in the evening and also enjoy beautiful sunset from boat.
Vijay K — Google review
Upper Lake is the most serene place in Bhopal. Perfect for peaceful moments and fun activities like boating. A must-visit for nature lovers!
Anjana H — Google review
This is the most iconic place of Bhopal for tourists and locals both. The lake offers breathtaking views and is a beautiful place for leisure walks. Recently, I discovered a nice area developed by MP Tourism for morning and evening stroll. There are nice shaded shelters and benches along with landscaped and well maintained garden. Lot of bird watching can also be done here. The sunrise and sunset look serene and scenic from this spot. Some films and web series have also been shot at this location recently. A place I return to often as my heart still yearns for the peace and tranquility it offers.
Mandeep S — Google review
Bhopal is also known as the city of lakes. Therefore, it is the top destination in the city for the visitors throughout the year. Raja Bhoj, the Parmara King, who ruled the Malwa empire during 1010 - 1055 CE, built this lake during his reign, who is also credited to establish this city which is now the capital of Madhya Pradesh. As a token of honour, his statue is also established in the lake. Apart from rich history, this lake is also an important water body not only for the residents of Bhopal for whom this is a water reservoir, but also ecologically for the environment due to which it has been included in the Ramsar list of Wetlands. One can often find people especially during sunrise and sunset, relaxing and enjoying the cool breeze and the view.
Sudhanshu T — Google review
Bhopal is a city of lots of human made lakes and this one is the biggest of all. It's a perfect place to chill in the evening and there are lots of snacking and street food options available over here. You can also do the boating if you're keenly interested or can just skip. There is beautiful art present over here which is made out of e-waste don't forget to check that out as well.
Soumya S — Google review
Brilliant! One of the tourist attractions! There are more than 35 fish species in the lake…. The lake never goes dry and is rich in nature…. I just hopethe government maintain its richness and does not construct anything around the lake…

Taj-ul-Masajid, also known as the "Crown of Mosques," is a massive 19th-century red-stone mosque located in Bhopal, India. It boasts imposing minarets, white domes, and intricate carved arches that showcase the city's elegant architectural style. Despite facing construction setbacks throughout history, it was finally completed in 1985 through public donations.
A Sikh's Perspective: A Soulful Experience at Taj-ul-Masajid, Bhopal As a Sikh and someone who deeply values spiritual architecture and interfaith harmony, visiting Taj-ul-Masajid in Bhopal was a moving and memorable experience. The name itself — meaning "Crown of Mosques" — is a fitting tribute to this majestic structure that stands tall not just in scale, but in grace, serenity, and historical importance. The first thing that struck me was its grandeur and tranquility. One of the largest mosques in India, it rises proudly with its pink façade, massive domes, and soaring minarets — a reminder of India's rich Islamic architectural heritage. The mosque isn't just a place of worship, it's a living monument that carries centuries of devotion, resilience, and artistry. What stood out most to me was the warmth and openness of the people. I was greeted with respect and curiosity. There was no barrier of faith — only shared reverence. It reminded me of the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who emphasized "Na koi Hindu, na Musalman" — that at the root of all spiritual paths is one universal truth and Creator. Whether you're spiritual, a lover of history, or simply someone seeking peace — I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Taj-ul-Masajid. It's not just a mosque — it's a celebration of faith, culture, and the diversity that defines India.
AstroSarvam S — Google review
This mosque is a very beautiful mosque. After going here you will feel as if you have gone there many years ago. People go to the mosque here to offer prayers. There are very good people living here with whom I have talked. They gave me a lot of information about the mosque. They told me how this mosque was built, who built it, when it was built, so after coming here I felt very good going inside this mosque.
Lakshmi R — Google review
When I stepped inside Taj-ul-Masajid in Bhopal, it honestly felt like time slowed down. The calmness of the place hits you first — that soft echo of azaan, the faint scent of ittar in the air, and the reflection of its grand pink domes on the still water of the courtyard. The mosque is massive — one of the largest in India — but what truly amazed me wasn’t just its size, it was its soul. Every arch, every marble corridor tells a story of faith, patience, and the artistry of Mughal architecture. Standing there, watching the sunlight filter through the arches, I could almost feel the centuries of devotion that built this masterpiece. And when the evening azaan begins, the entire atmosphere transforms — golden sky, gentle breeze, and the sound of prayers rising together. It’s not just a monument… it’s an emotion. Taj-ul-Masajid isn’t a place you just visit; it’s a place you feel. ---
Saiyad A — Google review
Architecturally stunning and spiritually uplifting. The masjid’s interiors are simple yet elegant, and the environment is filled with tranquility. You truly feel connected to Allah here.
Nida J — Google review
The Taj-ul-Masajid stands as the magnificent epitome of beauty and legacy in Bhopal. While the city's deep history encompasses centuries—from General Bhupal and Rani Kamlapati to Dost Mohammad Khan—this mosque is the crowning jewel of its more recent past. Its dramatic construction story, marked by halting periods and a phenomenal resumption, only adds to its legendary status. Today, the Taj-ul-Masajid is the enduring identity of Bhopal, radiating peace, beauty, and harmony for all who visit.
Mohammad S — Google review
One of the biggest mosques in the world with beautiful architecture and a peaceful vibe. After visiting, go to Motia Talaab nearby, sit by the water, enjoy the cool breeze, and relax. You can even try fishing.
Kunal D — Google review
The Darul Mazid (Darul Uloom Taj-ul-Masajid) in Bhopal — a perfect blend of spirituality, history, and architectural grandeur. Known as the “Crown of Mosques”, this magnificent structure is one of India’s largest and most breathtaking mosques, radiating timeless beauty and divine grace. The moment I entered, I was greeted by the sight of vast courtyards, tall minarets touching the sky, and three majestic white domes glistening in sunlight — a view that truly leaves you in awe. The serene reflection of the mosque in the central ablution pond creates a picture-perfect moment that speaks of peace and devotion. Every corner of Darul Mazid tells a story through its intricate Mughal-style carvings, finely detailed arches, and elegant marble flooring. The tranquil prayer hall fills the soul with calmness as the soft recitation of prayers echoes through the air. Adding to its charm, the attached Darul Uloom (Islamic seminary) continues to enlighten young minds with both religious and modern education, keeping alive a legacy of knowledge and harmony. Clean, peaceful, and beautifully maintained, this place welcomes every visitor with warmth and respect. Visiting during sunrise or sunset is pure magic — the golden light dancing over red sandstone walls makes it a photographer’s paradise. Whether you’re drawn by faith, architecture, or simply the charm of Bhopal’s heritage, Darul Mazid is a must-visit destination that captures the heart and soul of India’s rich cultural tapestry. A place where divinity meets artistry — truly a masterpiece of peace, devotion, and beauty.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Living Tribute to India's Rich Heritage — An Unforgettable Experience! Indira Gandhi Manav Sangrahalaya (Museum of Mankind) in Bhopal is truly one of the most unique and enriching museums I have ever visited. Spread across a vast, scenic campus on Shyamla Hills, overlooking the beautiful Upper Lake, this museum isn’t just a collection of artifacts — it’s a celebration of India’s incredible tribal, rural, and cultural diversity. What sets this museum apart is its open-air layout. You don’t just see history in glass cases — you walk through it. Life-size tribal huts, traditional dwellings, agricultural setups, and village scenes from different states and communities across India have been recreated with amazing authenticity. Each corner of the museum tells a story — from the art and rituals to the lifestyle and survival methods of our indigenous communities. The indoor galleries are just as impressive, showcasing rare photographs, folk art, musical instruments, ornaments, masks, and even spiritual beliefs of different tribes. Everything is well-labeled and explained in both Hindi and English, making it easy to understand and connect with. It’s not just educational — it’s a peaceful, soul-touching journey through India’s roots. Walking through the lush green paths, hearing the birds, and soaking in the tribal wisdom makes this place feel sacred. The staff is helpful, the premises are clean and well-maintained, and there’s enough space for families to enjoy without crowds. I highly recommend this museum for students, researchers, history enthusiasts, photographers, and anyone who wants to experience the real India beyond textbooks. Take your time when you visit — you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for India’s cultural richness and the resilience of its people. A true national treasure! 🇮🇳✨

This National Museum of Mankind beautifully showcases human evolution and tribal heritage through its extensive exhibits. I find this place very useless.Let me tell you how it felt? 1- First of all, there is nothing in this park. This park is just a park in name and there is nothing else. 2- Whenever you come to a park with your vehicle, first you have to pay parking fee. ₹10 for bike, ₹20 for car. 3- After this you have to pay entry fee to enter. 4- I went there in the evening. I found a lot of insects on this bridge. I found a lot of flying insects which were irritating me a lot and were causing me a lot of trouble. 5- And when I went there during evening time, many places in this park were closed and there were creatures roaming around everywhere who can irritate you a lot. 6- Then they have made a small children's park. You will have to pay a fee to enter that too. 7- After that people come here. Mostly to enjoy the toy train, the fee for the toy train is ₹25. Yes, it is a little good. But spending ₹25 for one round is a bit expensive 8- Then when you go to its food court, you will find some expensive items in its food court which you will feel that I should go out and eat them. I should not eat here. According to me, it has turned out to be worthless. Going here or not going here is the same thing. For me, I would prefer not to go.

The two lakes are built in a terraced manner, the lowest level of the Upper Lake is just below the highest level of the Lower Lake. The Lower Lake has an area (water spread) of 1.29 , and its catchment area is 9.6 km2. The lake receives subsurface seepage from the Upper Lake. In the 1850s, the maximum and minimum depths of the lake were 11.7 m and 6.16 m respectively. As of 2011, the maximum depth was 10.7m. The Lower Lake does not have any fresh water source; it receives seepage water from the Upper Lake and drainage from 28 sewage-filled nullahs. It drains into the Patra rivulet, which joins Halali River, a small tributary of the Betwa River. The lake was built by creating in 1794 to beautify the city. The construction was commissioned by Chote Khan, a minister of Nawab Hayat Muhammad Khan Bahadur.A number of earlier wells were merged in this lake. The lower lake is beside a bridge named 'Pul Pukhta'. The lower lake has also been mentioned as "Pukhta-Pul Talao" in literature. The Lower Lake suffers from pollution due to drainage from sewage-filled nullahs, lack of fresh water source and commercial washing of clothes. The entire lake is eutrophic, and its water is not suitable for drinking. Had a good and peaceful mindset.

The museum and the temple are both located in the same complex as in most Birla Temple/Museums across India. Thus museum has a lot of sculptures of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva and the Goddess Shakti in various forms with very informative display cards. Outside the museum in the garden are a selection of sculptures from archaeological finds. Nov '24: Visited again in November 2024. Still a great place to visit!

If you love history, sculptures and museums then a must-visit place indeed which is located just next to the Birla temple. The entry ticket is 25₹ and you have to pay 100₹ additional for any kind of photography which includes mobile photography too. There is a wide variety of sculpture art inside the museum which I like a lot. The museum is somehow maintained well. AL - Amaan Shaukat Mahal is a stunning architectural gem in Bhopal, built around 1830 and serving as the seat of the Nawab of Bhopal. It stands out amidst the predominance of Islamic architecture in the city with its unique blend of Asian, Western, Post Renaissance, and Gothic styles. The palace's intricate carvings and grand presence make it a popular tourist destination.
This royal building is situated at the entrance to the Chowk area in the heart of the walled city. Shaukat Mahal is a 19th century palace which was designed by a Frenchman, said to be a descendent the Bourbon kings. It combines Indo-Saracenic and Rococo architectural styles. The exterior of the palace is also carved with exquisite floral patterns that give the Mahal a very eco-friendly appearance. The Shaukat Mahal is flanked by the Sadar Manzil which served as a Hall of Public Audience during the princely period. This brick-red building has an ostentatious appearance, and the gardens that surround the palace makes the Manzil look very pretty. The aesthetical interest of the castle, finish with overwhelming utilization of white alabaster and highlighting a progression of complex triangular molded curves on its roof, was additionally upgraded by flawless outsides decorated with sensitive flower designs giving it an eco-accommodating appearance. Indeed, even following two centuries, the magnificence and wonder of this authentic landmark stays unmatched in the city. Sightseers going to the site are certain to be left totally speechless with its charming magnificence and aesthetic interest. When going by 'Shaukat Mahal', do travel to the colorful red block building 'Sadar Manzil' that encompasses the royal residence. The splendid red of 'Sadar Manzil' impeccably supplements the smooth white development of 'Shaukat Mahal' and the rich gardens here further add that touch of greenery to the postcard culminate setting of these two excellent structures. Numerous a times, exceptional qawwali programs are additionally sorted out in the patio nurseries amid nighttimes. The background of flawlessly lit 'Shaukat Mahal' gives that mysterious feel to the entire environment. In the event that you get a shot, do go to this melodic execution and absorb your souls the Nawabi spirits of Bhopal.

It is not worthwhile to visit this Mahal. It may be historical, but the location has been lost, and it is home of many people.  It is not a place to visit, and you will be disappointed if you do. Instead, there are two MAhals nearby, one of which is under renovation, and the other is GOUHAR MAHAL. Its infrastructure has been dismantled and is no longer maintained by anyone. It feels more like a home than a Mahal or an old house. I was very disappointed to put this on my list of places to visit. As a result, it is not necessary to pay a visit.

An almost 200-year old monument, which is still occupied by residents, in spite of almost being in ruins. It is believed to have been constructed sometimes in the beginning of the 19th century as a wedding gift to Sikander Jehan Begum, the first full-fledged female ruler of Bhopal. I was unable to visit inside, only viewed it from outside. It is indeed a majestic monument, and in several parts one can imagine it's foregone splendour. Today a very good hotel operates on the premises.

Very poorly maintained historical Palace by the government of Madhya pradesh. I think the government of MP is not giving a little focus on the condition of Historical palaces the well known Shaukat mahal is a live Example. Once a beautiful and huge heritage building is in the worst condition now you can't even get Inside of the Shaukat Mahal due to it's worst condition. There is grass all over the building, the building looks like a haunted place of b grade bollywood horror movies. Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal is honestly one of those places that leaves you with a lasting impression. Tucked near the Upper Lake, the whole setting feels peaceful and refreshing. The building itself has a very unique design, simple yet artistic, and the view from the premises makes it even better. Inside, there’s a lot to explore — art galleries, a library, and even sections dedicated to tribal art and culture. I personally loved the tribal art gallery; it gives such a raw and authentic feel of Madhya Pradesh’s roots. The paintings and sculptures are displayed in a way that feels approachable, not overwhelming, which makes the experience really enjoyable. The amphitheatre is another highlight. Even if you’re not attending a performance, just sitting there for a while feels special. You can almost imagine the energy of the crowd and the artists performing under the open sky. It’s one of those spots that connects you with both art and nature at the same time. Overall, visiting Bharat Bhavan didn’t feel like just ticking off a tourist attraction — it felt more personal. It’s calm, creative, and full of stories. If you’re in Bhopal and looking for something beyond malls and busy streets, this place is a must.

Bhopal's most unique mall is Peoples Mall. Mostly children or families come here who want to spend time with their families. There are many places for children to play here. You will also find the Taj Mahal here. You will also find the Red Fort here. You will also find the Taj Hotel here. And this place is more famous for children. You will get good food here. You will also find good places to visit here. I am a solo traveler. I just wanted to go here and see how this place is because I saw reviews on Google. There were a lot of positive reviews about it so I just wanted to come here for a visit. To be honest, its entry fee is ₹60. I can say that yes it is worth it for one time. This place is not for repeated visits. This place is for one-time visits only. If you have children at home or you want to spend more time with your family, then you can come here again and again. You can come in the evening. You can enjoy comfortably and then leave. Otherwise, if you are a serious traveler, then it is okay for you to visit this place only once.

Most of the branded shops here are closed, and only a few visitors come on weekdays. The “Seven Wonders” attraction is the main highlight of the place. It’s worth visiting once, especially considering the affordable entry fee of ₹60 and an auto ride costing around ₹40 for a 30-minute trip. However, it’s not really worth a second visit. Visitors can walk around freely, as there’s no time limit inside. There are several food stalls near the entrance, but due to low footfall, sales are limited and the food items are often not very fresh.

People’s Mall in Bhopal is a unique blend of entertainment, culture, and leisure. The standout feature is the collection of life-size replicas of world-famous monuments like the Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, and Statue of Liberty, offering great photo opportunities and a mini world tour experience. The mall also houses a water park with attractions such as a swimming pool, wave pool, and various water rides, making it a fun spot for families. Additionally, there’s a multiplex cinema, gaming zones, and a variety of food outlets to cater to different tastes. However, some areas could benefit from better maintenance. Visitors have noted issues like cleanliness in restrooms and the need for more active retail outlets. Despite these, the overall experience remains enjoyable, especially for those looking to spend a day exploring diverse attractions in one place. Tip: Visit during the evening to see the monument replicas beautifully illuminated.

Kanha Fun City is a vibrant aquatic theme park located in Bhopal, renowned for its thrilling water slides and pools that promise endless fun. This amusement haven features classic rides like bumper cars, making it an ideal destination for families and thrill-seekers alike. Opened in 2000, the park has become a popular spot for various events such as weddings, corporate gatherings, and school picnics.
We visited for the Holi celebration, and it was an amazing experience! The arrangements were great, with delicious food, a fantastic DJ, and two dance zones—one for rain dance and the other in a covered lawn area. The water park and amusement park were both incredible. The security was also top-notch. It’s definitely a must-visit with family on any day, not just for special events!

It is very good option for the family visit during summer. Maintain very cleanly. Gives importance to hygiene and safety of the visitors. A lot of fun is there inside fun city. Basically there are two zone. One is water park which has entrance fees of Rs.300/_ per person. Full fare will be charged from 3 feet height of the children. Fun city closes at 06.00pm. Second one is Amusement park has entrance fees Rs.300/_ per person with the same above conditions. Combined ticket is Rs.600/_. Children can enjoy a lot in both the places. Number of rides are available.

Water park is good , compared to crescent they have little short slides so is easy for childrens. Charges are also little high. Earlier they used to give 500 ruppe ticket(water park+ amusement) Now it is 600 for water park and 300 for amusement park. They asked us to take 600 ticket complementary with amusement park(none were active though). New charge criteria is not sensible despite just charges are becoming high and degraded with facilities. Why to go - fun area , good food area, amusement park is also good. Why not to visit or choose crescent over - rate high, no clean pool ( today we saw many little 🐞🪲🐞🐜 grasshopper 🦗 and something not friendly at all leeches . The majority of the staff were helpful, but I had a negative experience with the locker room staff at the water park. Initially, they requested us to purchase a lock for 300 rupees, but we declined as we managed our expenses separately. When we returned, they had locked our locker and demanded payment. This situation was disappointing, especially since only 1-2 lockers were involved and the amount requested (over 600 rupees) seemed excessive and inappropriate. May be they will work on all this may not be if you all are ready to face all these glitches move ahead otherwise my suggestion is for crescent more upon this (water park). Thank you.

The Bhojeshwar Mahadev Temple, located in the rural village of Bhojpur just outside of the city of Bhopal, is a well-known Hindu temple that dates back to at least the 10th or 11th century. The temple is unfinished, and its architecture and construction remain a mystery due to unknown reasons. Despite this lack of completion, the temple remains an important part of Hindu culture and tradition in the area.
Visiting the Bhojeshwar Temple in Bhojpur, Madhya Pradesh, is like stepping back in time. Though incomplete, this ancient marvel exudes grandeur and serenity. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple houses an awe-inspiring 7.5-foot high lingam in its sanctum — one of the tallest in India. The sheer scale and architectural brilliance are enough to leave anyone spellbound. Believed to have been constructed in the 11th century during the reign of the Paramara king Bhoja, the temple stands as a powerful testament to the vision and craftsmanship of that era. Despite its unfinished state, the Bhojeshwar Temple remains spiritually enriching and historically significant. Whether you're a history lover, a devotee, or simply seeking peace in a scenic setting, this temple offers a unique and humbling experience. A must-visit gem in the heart of Madhya Pradesh!

The Bhojeshwar Mahadev Temple is an 11th-century incomplete Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Bhojpur, near Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. It is famous for housing one of the largest Shiva Lingams in the world, which stands over 7.5 feet tall and is carved from a single stone. The temple is considered an architectural marvel, notable for its massive construction, intricate carvings, and the remaining architectural plans and ramps used in its construction

The Bhojpur Shivling is closely associated with the unfinished Bhojeshwar Temple, believed to have been commissioned in the 11th century by King Bhoja of the Paramara dynasty. The temple is renowned for its massive monolithic Shiva lingam, standing about 2.3 meters tall, which is regarded as the largest of its kind in India. Although the construction was abruptly discontinued for reasons that remain uncertain, the site today holds the status of a Monument of National Importance and is preserved by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

Jama Masjid is the second-largest mosque in Bhopal and also the pride of Bhopal. This mosque is situated in a congested market area. Most tourists come to visit this mosque for its beautiful classic Islamic architecture. This mosque has three side entry doors you enter from anywhere.

Jama Masjid in Bhopal has historical value and beautiful old architecture, but the experience was underwhelming. The structure itself is grand, but poor maintenance and lack of cleanliness take away from its charm. The surroundings felt a bit chaotic, and there wasn’t much information or signage for visitors. With better upkeep and management, it could be a much more pleasant and respectful experience.

A must visit. I went to the Jama masjid at night. There were hardly any people about. Being a non Muslim, I was not sure whether I could enter or not, so I asked an elderly gentleman who was exuding the mosque. He said I could go in & escorted me in himself. The mosque was brilliantly lit from outside. I did i was the only visor & had the whole mosque to sit in tranquility or peace. I took a few moments to disk in the atmosphere of the place. I would say this is among the more beautiful mosques in India & well maintained.

Their knowledge on Islamic architecture is well portrayed in the elements of the entire building. The place is mostly deserted apart from tourists travelling there. I request others to upload the correct pictures of the Masjid as few people have Added Taj ul Masajid pictures. Beware of the wrong pictures. I am sharing few pictures when i visited there.

The Jama Masjid of Bhopal, built by the city's first female ruler, Qudsia Begum, in the early 19th century, is a historical landmark. The mosque's striking facade features two tall octagonal minarets that majestically rise from the main structure. Each minaret is topped with a gracefully adorned dome and crowned with a gleaming, gold-plated finial. Its elevated platform, accessed through three entrance gateways, gives the mosque a commanding presence in its surroundings. Located in the bustling Chauk Bazaar, this mosque is not just a place of worship but a significant architectural marvel that attracts visitors.

Manuabhan Ki Tekri is a peaceful hilltop spot in Bhopal. It offers beautiful, wide views of the city and the lakes. The main attraction is a large, white statue of Shiva. It’s a quiet and calm place, perfect for a short visit to relax and enjoy the scenery. A nice spot for families and couples.

Manubhan Ki Tekri is truly one of the most peaceful and scenic spots in Bhopal. Located on a small hill, it offers a calm atmosphere away from the city rush. The climb up is short but rewarding, and once you reach the top, you’re welcomed by beautiful Jain temples and panoramic views of Bhopal city and the Upper Lake. The place is very well maintained, clean, and spiritually enriching. The Jain temples here are beautifully constructed, with intricate carvings and a serene environment that makes it perfect for meditation or just sitting quietly. The sunset view from the Tekri is especially stunning, as you can see the golden light reflecting over the lake and city. There’s a ropeway facility available, which adds a fun element for families and kids. The ropeway ride is short but gives a great aerial view of the surroundings. Parking is available at the base, and the overall place feels safe and welcoming. A small note: since this is a religious site, modest dressing and respectful behavior are appreciated. It’s also best to visit during mornings or evenings to avoid the heat. Highlights: Panoramic view of Bhopal & Upper Lake 🌅 Beautiful Jain temples 🙏 Ropeway ride 🚡 Peaceful, clean & spiritual atmosphere ✨ Tip: Carry some water, visit during sunset for the best experience, and don’t forget your camera! 📸

The park situated on top of hill is in really sorry state, play area is broken, tiles on walking steps are broken, electric wires are broken ans dangerously lying on floor. Remember Bhopal Museum is a memorial museum dedicated to the tragic Bhopal disaster, which occurred on December 2-3, 1984. The museum is divided into five sections and features over 50 original audio recordings from survivors, doctors, and experts involved in the aftermath. It offers a poignant look at one of the most challenging times in the city's history through exhibits such as photos, oral stories, protest songs, artifacts, and campaign posters.
It's been 37 years since that fateful and horrendous nightmare that occurred in Bhopal. Considered to be World's deadliest industrial disaster, this tragedy still continues to rob the lives of people. For the entire world, the lives lost may seem to be a statistic, but for a person it was the entire world. This Museum serves as the painful reminder of suffering and loss that Bhopal incurred. It has the collection of photographs, artefacts, campaign posters related to the tragedy, and the personal belongings and voice recordings of the victims and their families, it is purely haunting. Their tales of struggle and survival, the loved ones they lost will numb your heart. I don't have words to describe the experience and the emotions I felt.

A small museum based on Bhopal gas tragedy. It's located inside the boundaries of a colony, constructed for tragedy victims. A small flat H.No. 216 has been taken on rent and photographs and voices of relatives of victims, telling the story of the tragic day and what they and their kins suffered. One can hear their voices. From here you can also learn how casual the our government and society are to their people. Seems we don't respect human lives. Pathetic. Victims have not received compensation so far. You can also come to know that in similar tragedies in other countries what amount of compensation they received for their victims and what we have received, a meagre amount, due to negligence of our government. An NGO running this museum. Pay a visit to this museum to pay homage to those victims.
Anupam S — Google review
The museum exhibits artefacts, oral histories, photographs, protest songs and campaign posters that have emerged in the movement for justice for the victims of the Bhopal disaster. The survivor groups have worked with Lakshmi and other museum professionals to design and create their own memorial museum, filled with posters, photographs, and artefacts, such as a small victim’s dress, a stopped pocket watch–donated by the families of victims and survivors. Survivors have given to the museum personal objects that are often their last tangible link to those who died because of the gas leak. Many others have recounted their harrowing tales of survival and struggle. The museum’s narrative is shaped by their stories and objects.

Chinar Park in Bhopal is a peaceful spot in the midst of the city. This exquisitely landscaped park has magnificent views and walking paths. The Chinar trees give shade and a feeling of peace, and it is ideal for nature enthusiasts and people looking for peace. The full bloom of the various Bougainvilleas present an awesome view which is very much pleasing to the eyes. It has a children's playground, hence making it the best place to take families along. The walks during the morning and evening hours are rejuvenating, as the breeze and singing birds offer a refreshing atmosphere. The maintenance of the park is impressive. Chinar Park holds such a special place in my heart. My grandparents used to take me there every single day at 5 o'clock when I was a child. The memories of those afternoons are some of my most cherished. Even though they're no longer here, I still find myself drawn to the park. Every bench, every path, every tree seems to hold a memory. I can almost hear their voices and see their smiles as we walked and talked. I love this place because it's more than just a park to me—it's a beautiful, emotional connection to my past. It's a reminder of their love, and coming here always makes me feel like they're still with me. It’s a peaceful and very personal sanctuary.

Museum
Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal is a war memorial and museum inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, in 2016. Situated on a sprawling 12-acre park in the heart of Arera Hills near M.P. Nagar and Secretariat, it pays tribute to the nation's war heroes from the Army, Air Force, and Navy. The main attraction is an underground gallery that allows visitors to experience the harsh conditions of Siachen Glacier.
Shaurya Smarak is a must-visit destination in Bhopal that beautifully honors the heroes of our nation. The authorities have done a commendable job in creating this memorial, blending patriotism with thoughtful design. The site offers ample parking and is very reasonably priced, with entry tickets at just ₹20. Photography and videography are allowed for a minimal contribution of ₹50, making it accessible for everyone to capture memories. This memorial is not just a place to visit but an experience that inspires pride and gratitude for the sacrifices of our brave soldiers. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bhopal!

It’s a perfect blend of nature and history, where you can spend quality time with family and also feel a deep sense of patriotism. There’s a cafe inside to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The best part is the entry ticket is just ₹20, and parking is absolutely free. A must-visit place in Bhopal for everyone! 🇮🇳

Shaurya Park is a very good place. This place is very famous. If you come to Bhopal, you will definitely feel very good if you sit in the garden here. The entry fee here is only ₹20. For a single person, but if you want to take a phone or a camera or if you want to do photography inside, you will have to pay ₹50 extra. But you will enjoy a lot by going here. By going here with your family and friends, you will get a lot of knowledge about soldier. Even better thing is that when you go here you will find different things. You will get different information. You will get all the information about whatever Indian military has done till now after independence and before independence! When we went there the weather was very good at that time so we enjoyed a lot.

Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal is a unique and beautifully designed war memorial that pays tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers. Unlike traditional memorials, this place combines art, architecture, and nature to create a peaceful yet thought-provoking atmosphere. The open-air design with landscaped gardens, water bodies, and symbolic structures truly sets it apart. What I loved the most was how every element here has a deeper meaning – the sculptures, murals, and installations narrate stories of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. The flame and tall structures stand as a symbol of eternal honor for the martyrs. It is not only a place to pay homage but also to reflect on the values of dedication and service to the nation. The ambience is calm and serene, making it a great spot for both families and students to learn about history and valor. It is also well-maintained and has clear information boards to explain the significance of different sections. Evening lighting adds to the beauty and makes the experience even more memorable. Overall, Shaurya Smarak is a must-visit in Bhopal – not just for its architectural beauty, but for the emotions and respect it evokes for our heroes. Truly inspiring!!!

The Lake View of Bhopal, overlooking the majestic Upper Lake (Bhojtal), is one of the most scenic and peaceful spots in the city. Surrounded by lush green hills and a cool breeze from the expansive waters, it offers a perfect escape from the city’s hustle. The sunsets here are truly mesmerizing, as the golden light reflects on the calm lake, creating a soothing and picturesque atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy boat rides, long walks, or simply sit by the promenade to soak in the beauty. Adding to its charm, the area around Lake View is lively with local food stalls, tea vendors, and small shops, making it a favorite evening hangout for locals and tourists alike. Whether you’re seeking a quiet moment of relaxation, a family outing, or a photography spot, Lake View perfectly blends natural beauty with cultural vibrancy, making it a must-visit in Bhopal.
SIDDHARTH P — Google review
This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful parts of Bhopal, but unfortunately the charm is diluted because of the excessive presence of street vendors scattered everywhere. I am not against street vendors at all, but at least certain sections should be designated and maintained in a way where people can pay, enter, and truly enjoy the natural beauty of the place without unnecessary clutter. If managed well, this area has the potential to become one of the most Instagram-friendly spots in the city. At present, since access is completely free, many visitors don’t value or respect the space the way they should. A little organization, proper zoning, and thoughtful curation could transform it into a place that not only retains its cultural vibrancy but also maintains its aesthetic appeal. With just a few changes, it can truly become a landmark attraction of Bhopal.”**

Gufa Mandir Lalghati Review – A Unique Spiritual Experience in Bhopal Gufa Mandir, located in Lalghati, Bhopal, is one of the most distinctive and revered temples in Madhya Pradesh. Unlike conventional temples, this sacred site is built inside natural caves, offering devotees a serene and spiritual atmosphere that feels closer to nature and divinity. Dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, Gufa Mandir also houses idols of Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman, and various other deities, making it a place of worship for multiple faith traditions within Hinduism. The uniqueness of Gufa Mandir lies in its natural cave setting, where the sanctum and shrines are carved within the rocky interiors. This rare architectural style creates an aura of mysticism and peace, setting it apart from modern temple complexes. Devotees are drawn to its tranquil environment, echoing chants, and divine vibrations, which provide an unmatched spiritual experience. Situated near Lalghati, the temple is easily accessible from Bhopal city center, attracting both local devotees and tourists. Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh is a renowned destination for wildlife enthusiasts. Situated near the Upper Lake and Shymala Hills, it offers a picturesque landscape with diverse flora and fauna. The park follows strict standards set by the Central Zoo Authority to preserve animals in environments similar to their natural habitats. Visitors can witness tigers, lions, bears, and other wild animals roaming freely in this urban jungle.
A Refreshing Day Amidst Nature We visited Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal by car, and it was a truly refreshing experience. The drive through the park was peaceful, surrounded by greenery and beautiful natural landscapes. We were lucky to spot a variety of wildlife including peacocks, deer, a tiger, lion, bear, crocodiles, snakes, butterflies, and many birds. The enclosures are spacious and designed to resemble the animals’ natural habitats, making the experience feel authentic and immersive. The weather was perfect, adding to the charm of the visit. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the park, soaking in the calm atmosphere, and witnessing the beauty of wildlife up close. A lovely day spent in nature — highly recommended for a peaceful outing!
Anjana H — Google review
Van Vihar National Park is often referred to as a “national park,” but in reality, it feels more like a large open zoo. Many of the animals are kept in enclosures, so don’t expect a completely wild safari experience. The park is set along a single straight road about 10–12 km long, which you can explore in different ways — on foot, by bicycle, bike, or car — with separate entry fees depending on your choice. It’s a very photogenic location, with plenty of spots where the greenery, lake views, and wildlife make for beautiful pictures. The best time to visit is early in the morning when the air is fresh and the crowds are minimal. If you plan to walk the whole route, wear sports shoes and comfortable clothing, as it can be a long stretch. On the other hand, if you’d rather not walk, bringing your own vehicle is a good option to cover the distance comfortably. One thing to keep in mind is that the park is not very shaded, so visiting on hot, sunny days can be tiring. Overall, it’s an “okay” place for a peaceful outing, especially for nature lovers and photographers who enjoy a calm environment without too much rush.
Avnish C — Google review
According to me this place is a waste of money. Let me tell you why you should not go here? 1- When I first came here, there was a fee to take a motorbike inside. It was ₹20, now the fee is ₹80. 2- Even if you charge more money, you will not see any animals here. When you go to visit here, you will get to see only one or two special species of tiger. You may get to see a peacock. You may get to see a wild pig. This is all you will get to see. You may get to see many types of deer. But you will not see many animal here. 3- All I get here is Crocodile, pig , tiger , bear, Deer and some birds I have seen it only. 4- Even after that you have to get down at every place and see whether there are animals there or not. There used to be a lot of animals here earlier. Nowadays I feel that no animal is visible clearly. 5- But there is a plus point here. If you come here in the early morning or in the evening, the environment here becomes very good before it closes. The breeze blows very well, so if you are coming on a two wheeler, you will enjoy travelling a lot. It will be very nice to roam here.

Beautiful place! So green and there is river/lake flowing alongside. It feels surreal. Ticket cost is very less but the experience is amazing! They have a very clean and maintained national park. So spacious and we can find many animals there. The view is just breathtaking. Rare trees are also there, beautiful butterflies, tigers, bears, snakes, rabbits, rare birds, turtles and many more I have seen. They also have a beautiful cafe inside van vihar. They have scenic dining settings. Good options in the menu. I enjoyed a coffee there while gazing at the water below, observing beautiful and soothing ripples of flowing water. Well maintained place. Bikes and cars are allowed inside. Horn is not allowed to keep animals and other creatures at peace. Bicycles and e bikes are available for rent there at a very reasonable cost. Great experience overall.

Must visit tourist attraction of Bhopal. With the lake on one side and animals on the other. There are lot of peacocks 🦚around. Lot of different birds. It’s hard to get the glimpse of tiger 🐯 and leopards 🐆. As their cage are huge. Entry fee for car is 300 rupees. They tell you to not honk while driving. But some dumb people still honk and disturb the animals. So please remember this while you visit next time.

Van Vihar National Park is the perfect spot to spend a peaceful morning or evening in Bhopal. Whether you prefer walking, cycling, riding your Scooty, or driving through in your car, the park is designed to accommodate all. On one side, you’re treated to the calm beauty of the Upper Lake, and on the other, lush greenery surrounds you — it’s truly the best of both worlds. The park is a great place to catch a breathtaking sunrise or sunset by the lake. You’ll also come across a variety of animals, birds, and butterflies, making it a serene escape into nature. There’s a charming little café by the lakeside inside the park — a nice place to sit and unwind, though the prices are slightly on the higher side. I’d also recommend renting a cycle from outside (either your own or the electric ones available nearby) for a more enjoyable and comfortable experience as the cycles available inside are mostly partially broken. A must-visit for nature lovers and anyone looking to slow down and take in the beauty of Bhopal.

🌳 Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal is a peaceful escape right inside the city, perfect for a quiet walk or cycle ride under tall trees with the lake breeze. 🦌 You can see tigers, leopards, deer, bears, and many birds living in clean, spacious enclosures, making it perfect for nature lovers and kids. Early mornings are best for bird sounds and animal sightings. 🚲 Cycling inside was the highlight for us, riding along shaded paths with the lake view on one side. The park is well-maintained, affordable, and has clean washrooms and rest points, making it family-friendly. 🌿 If you are tired of city noise and need a breath of fresh air, Van Vihar is the place to slow down and reconnect with nature. Highly recommended when in Bhopal!
