Very nice mosque, I think it has been forgotten by the state, isn’t as clean and good looking as it was once upon a time. I hope it changes, but from a historic perspective it was very nice to see that it is still an active worship place. I feel like they should clean the name board of the mosque, it was full of dust…

It's nothing you haven't seen before, but it's worth the time, we couldn't go in due to our belief, but the gardens were really nice and well-maintained. I would also recommend walking along the salt lake path in summer and in winter...overall, not a bad experience, but nothing crazy.

Placed by salt lake, good time to sit on the bench and relax for the while. If flamingo 🦩 season -> extra special. If want to visit mosque than good dress is mandatory 😉

It is slightly off the beaten track but is still worth the effort to visit as it is a very nice mosque indeed. Perhaps it isn't as clean as it may have been in the past but still it was OK. Our only mistake was that my wife was not dressed properly and was refused entry. and so many stray cats around .... not pleasant.

Beautiful setting by the edge of the Salt Lake. Peaceful and scenic place, especially around sunset. Remember: ladies must wear full-length pants covered clothing to enter — no entry otherwise.

The Hala Sultan Tekke mosque, which is very beautiful, is located near the salt lake. It is essential to wear an appropriate long dress; otherwise, entry will not be permitted.

This mosque has been described as the third holiest place for Muslims in the world (some say the fourth, after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem). During the Ottoman Empire, Ottoman-flagged ships would hang their flags at half mast when off the shores of Larnaca, and salute Hala Sultan with cannon shots. The mosque was built over the grave of Umm Haram, who was believed to be the sister of the Prophet Mohammed’s foster mother.

I loved all the details, there are so many interesting tools and insights from early medicine; it was history beautifully mingled with art, and also modern day objects. The host, Dorothea, was so passionate and friendly, she offered us a tour and explained the practices of those times. This museum has a lot to offer and is worth hours of scrutinizing, there are so many things to learn and discover. I really loved this experience and I dearly recommend it, I would come back any time! (The entrance is free, but you can make donations if you wish; also, you are allowed to touch the exhibits)

We stumbled upon this beautiful little medical museum by chance. We really appreciated the way the objects are displayed like a cabinet of curiosities filled with intertwined stories, all very well explained. We enjoyed diving into this medical universe through its different eras and narratives. The museum is very comprehensive, as it covers a wide variety of medical topics through rare antique objects that you won’t find just anywhere. This really helps visitors grasp the evolution and challenges of medicine over time. We also particularly enjoyed the many artistic creations, all centered around the theme of medicine. They were made by Dorota, the person who guided us during the visit. She has a true artistic sensibility that we found very moving. Her creations about dental equipment are not to be missed make sure to ask her to show them to you! So, if you're ever in Larnaca, we highly recommend taking the time to visit this wonderful museum.

THE MEDICAL MUSEUM of Larnaka is a quirky, magical, educational micro-museum also known as THE KYRIAZIS MUSEUM after the eponymous Dr MARIOS KYRIAZIS MD,DSc whom it was a delight and an honour to meet and chat with ( and even receive kind and helpful medical advice from!) on the morning of our visit. Many of the exhibits were spine-tinglingly gruesome but also, awesomely thrilling! I liked the fact the museum space was small, only a couple of rooms, but they were chock full of fascinating medical objects. The lovely Dorota gives you a whizz of a tour around then you can peruse the exhibits again at your own pace. The good Doctor was so lovely I bought his book which I think will be an amazing and humorous read! Best Google to check the Museum opening times. My Lonely Planet Guide said it was only open Wednesdays and Saturdays until 1230 hours but this is incorrect. It’s open much more frequently than that. Definitely worth leaving the beach for!

We had a wonderful time at the Medical Museum! The exhibit features a wide range of medical equipment and various surgical instruments of different age. You are also allowed to touch and interact with the majority of the exhibits, which makes the experience truly engaging. There was also a really friendly guide who provided us with a comprehensive excursion, even after the working hours had passed. The owner of the museum is a doctor himself, and if you’re particularly interested in medicine, you can talk to him about it, as well as purchase his book (English/Greek) and have it signed. By the way, the museum is entirely free to enter, although you can leave a donation afterwards :)

The Kyriazis Medical Museum in Larnaca was established in 2011 and displays medical items, books and framed documents relating to the practice of medicine from antiquity to the 20th century. It is the only medical museum in Cyprus and all the collections belong to a Nobel prize nominee. You can touch all the items there and feel for yourself how they work. Its founder is Marios Kyriazis, a descendant of four generations of doctors and pharmacists in Larnaca. The hosts can open anytime by appointment. Most days they will open from 10 am to 7 pm.Tours in Greek, Italian, English, German and Polish.

The museum is very interesting and the exhibits are very impressive. Everything has been collected with great effort and care. We were given a spontaneous short tour, which we really enjoyed. You get a vivid impression of what medicine used to be like. An impressive contribution to everyday history. The current state of science is tomorrow's error. Science is continuous advancement.

A small museum, not very spectacular. Many very old ceramic vessels, Roman glass, remains of statues. You only need about 30 minutes to visit it.

The Roman glass has to seen to be believed . So delicate, but survived in Tombs . The Pomos idols and the flat idols are amazing . The pots and other artifacts are very special. Well worth a visit . Entry €3

Located a 3 minute walk off the main square. Cost :3 euros and they take credit cards. It’s a single floor of 5 rooms and a corridor. Different historic periods of vases and pots, figurines and statues/ heads and artefacts. Description could be made easier with number going in a systematic order as well as the description. Descriptions are put into one page of say 1-5 and objects maybe on two different levels in two different panels of display making it difficult for the visitor to follow a systematic viewing of the displays. Also description not at eye level but a lot of bending down is required for reading inscriptions, the font could also be bigger.

A small private museum with exhibits from Stone Age that Pieridis family acquired through the generations which they showcase for the public to enjoy. The museum is housed in a private colonial style building which it was a family house before built in 1825 and which it has been occupied the site for more than four generations. Each room is sectioned on different afterfacts from bronze, clay, glass and more. My favourite section it was the different coloured and shapes of blown glass. You can spend easily one to two hours there and is accessible for wheelchair users. It has a small gift shop at the back and toilets in the back yard. Entrance is €3.00 and is well worth a visit there.

Great building with loads of historical items including maps, statues, lamps and coins all displayed on a professional way. An interesting history of ancient Cyprus. Well worth visiting.

From an architectural standpoint it’s a very pretty building and the interior is spectacular. I didn’t take any photos as I didn’t know if it was appropriate or not as it is an active church. But the paintings and reliefs inside are quite unique. And the building itself has a great history that’s interesting to learn about as someone who’s not tied to the Christian faith. The surrounding neighborhood is very quaint and has many good shops and restaurants/cafes.

This is amazing Church is a must visit if you are in the area. Beautiful structural architecture on the outside and inside to the amazing things you will see when you enter. If you can try and be covered up because there is a sign outside saying no shorts for men and women should ideally have their hair and shoulders covered but they do have robes for free on the outside to cover just in case you forget. Situated in the church are the most amazing icon pictures all over and the whole church is almost covered in gold. It is a particularly busy church with tourists in and out at all times. When you enter there is a lower two level where Lazarus bones used to be kept before they were moved, but his tomb still remains.

Hearing about this church and seeing some of the photos doesn’t really prepare you for the experience and history you are about to feel walking up to and inside this master of a monument. The outside is stunning, well preserved and sits on a lovely open space. When you enter it is very typical of a Greek church and lovely. Make sure you visit the tombs also under the church.

Beautiful church, very peaceful! We went there around at 1400 and it was closed. Advise to check the opening hours before you go. It opens in afternoon at 1530 but if you are there early, there are few souvenir shops that you can visit, enjoy lunch, take photographs, enough things to keep you occupied.

Hmmm - not too sure about this. I guess it would be OK if you had nothing better to do, but there are better to see. It is an old fort from the 12th century which had multiple purposes along the centuries. The cost to visit is only 2.5 euro; so, it is not overly expensive and is really only a short visit. There are old canons, and some chambers and a prison; and the view from the top is pretty good.

Very simple. The museum part is practically nonexistent. They need a better use for the upstairs room. Charging deterred many people from visiting when I was there, especially because nothing is reeling people in.

Had some time to kill so for €2.50 we thought we'd have a look. Not much going on, could really do with some information boards as you go around. There is one QR code by the tombs which give you a bit of background, but otherwise you need use your imagination. Good view from up the top out over the beach.

The Great Mosque of Larnaca, Djami Kebir (Al Masjid Al Kabeer) which is located in the heart of Larnaca with a few steps away from the beach. A very beautiful, calm and peaceful place that I visit often as a Muslim since I moved here, and even as a tourist it is worth a visit. Djami Kebir is perhaps the first Ottoman mosque in Cyprus and it lays just next door to the Medieval Castle.

My experience at Djama Kabir Mosque in Larnaca was truly wonderful. The mosque has a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. Nice Mosque with a friendly Imam. Me and my wife and my son visited and for the first time in a Mosque it was very nice. Exactly like I expected it to be a piece of the Cyprus culture. My wife had to cover her body, but they have already prepared coats with hoodies so it worked out just fine.

After the conflict of 1974 and the division of Cyprus into two parts (Greek and Turkish), the mosque was closed, but Cypriot President Makarios III allowed the mosque to be opened after a visit by Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi to Cyprus in which he formally requested the president to open three mosques. The mosque was renovated in 2002 with the support of the United Nations and under the supervision of Saleh Lamei Mustafa, Director General of the Center for the Revival of the Heritage of Islamic Architecture. But still the historical mosque is in need of restoration inside out !

Went in April, no Flamingo. Learned from the local that they only come to salt lake between Nov and Mar. If you go in other months, the lake view is still enjoyable, just no need to feel disappointed or not seeing any bird.

Larnaca Salt Lake fills with water during the winter and dries up in the summer to reveal a salt crust. This natural cycle attracts large flocks of migratory birds. Thousands of flamingos arrive from November to feed on the shrimp that thrive in the salt water.

Larnaca Salt lake is a must destination when you are traveling to Cyprus. It is a big salted lake, and if you are lucky u can spot flamingos! It's a great place for walking, jogging and looking at the airplanes since the airport is near the lake. During summer the lake gets dry and you see the salt.

Pink flamingos 🦩 visit the lake in winter. When I visited in mid November there were 2 big groups. Should bring a good camera to get a good picture. However you can walk around and enjoy the views. Various parking around the lake.

I visited it in November, and there were no birds, no water. Just a mud and salt. Large area covered by mud and salt. The guide said in winter there will be a lot of flamingo and water. It is located near Hala Sultan mosque.

Nice place for a walk alongside the salt lake, where you can watch the flamingos and other water birds. Great view of the Hala Sultan Tekkesi - this place has a ridiculous number of cute cats, it must be their sanctuary. There is several benches throughout the path, ideal to contemplate those magnificent birds.

This place is so beautiful and peaceful. It's easy to park, free of charge and it has a big open space. You can observe flamingos very easily from there, but they are quite shy birds, they won't come too close to the shore when you are there. But if you could be qiret and wait for a while, they would slowly come closer. Definitely a great place to get closer to nature! I highly recommend this spot!

That's a really nice calm place, which I liked so much that I visited it severel times for breakfast. You can sit inside or in one of the most beautiful yards I ever experienced. And I took that time for myself and enjoyed it staying there for a longer time. The people who work here and the manager does know their stuff very well. Food was always fresh and in best quality. Thank you so much. For me that's the best spot to have breakfast in Larnaca.

Today we felt like a real gourmet lunch and Stoano Kato exceeded our expectations. In a super relaxed ambiance with a really friendly service we enjoyed some delicious and marvellous looking dishes. And everything was fairly priced! Tips: smoothies, mussles and the Stoano Kato burger...made with expertise and love!

Nicely decorated with tea lights, sexy jazz music, attentive waiter and most importantly great original food. I can't think of anything negative about Atoano Kate. A few good vegitarian options which are rare in Larnaca, but this time I tried the Chef's Special 'corn fed baby chicken'. Note that it's described as 'whole chicken', but it's actually half chicken. Nicely prepared with orange sauce, served with sauted perfect and tasty potatoes, and artfully topped with artichoke, asparagus and mushroom. Absolutely delicious and easily the best chicken dish I've had in Larnaca. I left some room for the home made desert 'Crepe Suzette'—two crepes with orange liquer served with ice cream. YUM! On second thought I'm not sure why I ordered two dishes with orange sauces, but both dishes were excellent. Compliments to the chef, and I'm sure to return again when I'm in Larnaca.

Absolutely fantastic place, food & prices. The waiter was so professional and polite, and we were stunned by how the food was served, also it was so tasty and portions were great. There is a small garden inside the place that is cosy and full of lush greeneries. Just perfect, we will return for sure.

The beach in Larnaca is a great spot, especially in March. While the water was quite cold, I enjoyed dipping my feet in. The beach is spacious and not too crowded, which is perfect for families with children since the water is shallow. Overall, it’s a lovely, relaxing place with a welcoming atmosphere.

The sand was fine, but hard, perhaps from the water. The water didn’t have the same color as in Nissi and Protaras, for example, but it was warm. A sunbed and umbrella cost 7.5 euros, but for some reason nobody came for us to pay. There’s also a lifeguard. There were waves in the water, which was extremely clean. The sun set very early around 5:30 PM, but maybe because it gets dark much earlier here. There’s nowhere around to get food if you get hungry, or water - you have to go out to the waterfront street itself.

We have been here many times. To be honest, I have not seen the cheaper place to eat such a good food for that amount of money. It is tasty. I love seafood linguine. We tried lots of dishes and never were dissatisfied. Also it’s quite quick service as well. Definitely recommend visit! Also the portions are huge! Absolutely fair price.

This place is absolutely ridiculous! Was waiting 25 minutes in the order queue. They have 3 counters to order, just one was open. Only 7 people was in front of me. When it was my turn, the staff told me the food will need one hour to be ready. The restaurant hadn’t that many guests. Just 1/3 of the tables was occupied. Never ever again, that’s just super embarrassing, never saw such a stupid concept like that. They definitely need to change their concept and more important, their management.

This has to be the worst meal i have ever had in a tourist area in Cyprus, the food was inedible at best, the burger had a strange odour and was soggy, the corn on the cob was horrible the coleslaw warm and the frozen oven chips overcooked and cold, the other of my dining companions were unable to eat what was put in front of them, under normal circumstances I would have asked for the manager and made an official objective critique of the food in order for them to perhaps improve but I felt at the time it would have been pointless and served no purpose, if they really cared then they wouldn’t be serving food of this poor standard. Neither value for money or good quality to justify the cost.

Visit date is - 24-Sep-2023. We were two families with 1 child each. The food that we ordered was exceptional. We ended up with 2 salads and 2 burgers, quite big portions. We had a great time. The only downside that i would point is that we asked for a high chair twice in order to have one, not the end of the world since it was a semi-busy day. There is a playground which we ended up visiting a lot, very lively, for smaller children a guardian is a must since some games can be dangerous. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone with a family. Especially if the child is a bit older and can play on its own. Great work, keep it up

A relaxing family friendly venue, Nico and the team make you feel at home while providing a Stirling service. The food is great and the coffee fantastic. We loved spending our time here relaxing in the welcoming atmosphere, whether it's morning coffee,afternoon tea or just a perfectly made lemonade nothing was any bother. Love the fact they even have a great WiFi with room inside to work remotely and a place to entertain the young children. Thank you team see you next year.

Had a work meeting here, it was quiet enough for that to go well which was good. There are lots of tables of different sizes, so you can go with varying amounts of people, and a large outdoor section too. I found the building layout kind of confusing but the staff are very nice. I got a fresh lemonade which I was pleased to find was only €3.30. I got a sandwich as well, later on, which was €5.75. They toasted the sandwich for me free of charge, and served it with some potato chips. The sandwich was large and quite an adequate lunch. I also recommend it for kids because I think they have a play area.

I ordered a peanut butter bar, and when I started eating it, I found it was full of mold inside. I showed it to the staff, they took it away but did nothing until I asked again for a refund. Only then did the manager come, apologized, and gave me €3 back out of €4.50, which I had to point out again. This is extremely concerning – mold is dangerous, especially for people with health conditions or pregnant women. On top of that, the staff’s reaction was not professional at all. I took a picture and will share it here, so customers can be aware. I truly hope they improve both their quality control and their customer service.

Stumbled upon this spot with our 1.5 year old. It was a perfect pitstop! Excellent service (ordered at the counter and they brought our smoothie and orange cake to the kids area. Little one has a blast with the others! Safe and family friendly spot close to the beach.

Located on Mackenzie beach, they have a variety of food. We tried the Goat Cheese Pizza and it was tasty, fresh and the portion was really good. They did not mind to get French fried from another restaurant since they Don't have. prices are fair and affordable. They always send some people to the beach to deliver drinks.

A great place. Visited there several times during our trip to Cyprus. They have great coffee and pastries, awesome view outside and a warm and cosy atmosphere inside. The staff was very kind and helpful.

My 2 year old daughter loved it! I think for 2 year olds it’s amazing. It’s not too big of a museum and not too small but just enough to keep their focus on it and to do another round to see the things they loved the most. A very good first introduction to animals, shells and fossils.

The museum is technically poor. The items are common, the taxidermy is bad, the insects in drawers are rotting to dust, the few labels provided are often wrong. But the displays are absolutely charming. Something in the honest optimism of this place feels like a child proudly displaying his finds and it is utterly endearing. It is a good sized collection for the scale of the building and I wish them the greatest of success. May it one day rival the best museums in the country. My few photos don't do it justice - it's definitely worth a look.

The WWII exhibits include a Spitfire engine that starts up every Sunday at 11am - its roar shakes the display cases. Personal letters from Cypriot soldiers are preserved under glass with their original wax seals intact. The curator knows which photo album contains hidden images of resistance fighters.

Good place with AC, but guy who working there didn’t wants to let us inside at 12:20 (he said that it’s open till 13:00) and was really unhappy about the fact that we still wanted to entrance there. Museum is for 10-15 minutes max.

Small but lovely 😊. A large collection of flora and fauna of Cyprus - very impressive collection. My kids (4 & 7) loved it. ✅ Signage could be improved. ❎ Nice large safe playground and public library next door. 👍🏻🤸🏼‍♂️

Very calm nice beach. They had the parasol and lounge chair typical for beaches here but we were able to set up our own towel and chill without anything bothering us. At night people come and set up tables and party spots. Towards the end it seemed to be common for two tides to converge(at least early evening in late June) forming a square tide. Beautiful but can also indicate an upcoming rip tide so do be careful.

Amazing beach. Clean yellow sand. Beautiful sandstone rock in the water near the Flamingo Beach Hotel. There are points of various water entertainment: windserfing, flatboard etc. There is a zone for beach volleyball. The beach-beds cost about EUR 3 per day (if this wasn't a fraud). Many stores and bars nearby.

Yesterday we spent a few sunset and after hours on Makenzy Beach... What to say?... The Salt Lake or Flamingo Beach, which is 5 mins away from Makenzy Beach one of the must see local sites. Makenzy beach offers the great food but a bit pricey restaurants. In one of them I had the best over fish soup...

Location is nice for partying, there are lots of restaurants near by, but the beach is overrated. The sand looks like cars are passing through the beach on a daily basis. On the bright side, the water is not deep and it is crystal clear (mid September).

Nothing special. A place where you can eat something cheap, fast and relatively tasty. OK service, you can pay by card, free Wi-Fi. What you find in any other Burger King in this world.

Inside very very dirty , was trash under the table and all tables also was left and not only that the stuff was under the cashier sitting at the phone the other one was talking about personal life. That’s why I was waiting the for so long and while I was waiting I just hear “ I farted for three seconds” like why I supposed to waiting so long and hearing all this things

Big indoor playground, good location to go with the kids when the weather is bad. Don't forget to bring socks for your kids (no shoes allowed at the playground). They also serve food and beverages there, and have some snack machines. Beware: parking is free round the corner, but a bit adventurous - especially when it has rained for a bit (take care when maneuvering with your car).

We had a great time! The place is very clean and pleasant, and the kids enjoyed themselves a lot. Prices are reasonable, and note that it’s important to bring socks even for adults who want to join the kids inside the play structures. The staff were wonderful, very kind and attentive, and they handled children’s unwanted behavior in a gentle and respectful way. The only downside is that it’s a bit far from the city center, and getting there was a little inconvenient for us with public transportation. But overall, it was a fun experience and definitely worth visiting!

We were here two times during our holiday. The first time was free entrance day which was really generous. At our second visit we payed a really reasonable price. Our boy really enjoyed the fun park, for him that was the best part of the holiday. :-) The staff was very kind, respect for them.

You have a very nice place for kids in Larnaka, but I don’t understand why in such a lovely place there is no healthy menu. The options are only nuggets, French fries, pasta, and ice cream. It would be great if at least the ice cream was made with stevia or lactose-free. Also, when I came at 20:15 and asked if the kitchen was still open and if I could have a salad, the girl at the bar looked at the waiter in a way that felt unprofessional. In the end, they said yes, they would make the salad, but the expression on her face made me not want it anymore

It’s huge, kids have fun here no doubt. Parents can sit, drink beer/ice tea and enjoy the safe atmosphere and environment. Really a huge recommendation. We came at a week day and it was very spacious and even the staff played with the kids. 5/5

It's clean, organised, friendly and as you can see from the picture, it created pure joy for our boy. A really nice spot to come for parents and their kids if you live here or here on your holidays.

Nice clean beach with free changing and toilet facilities. Showers have a small fee. Sunbeds and umbrella is available for rent at 2,5€ per piece. Very great price and the equipment is in good quality. Fun place to watch the airplanes come in to land at the nearby airport.

Of the beaches we visited in Larnaca, this was by far our favorite! The crowd was a bit more relaxed and the planes landing at the airport were a fun bonus.

nice beach, only issue is that people from the nearby complexes take their dogs there in the morning so they can shit and pee on the beach (though it's forbidden by law, local authorities don't care). So beware where you let your children play on the sand, dog parasites can blind young kids.

A nice, clean beach. Sunbeds & umbrellas are standard price. A little disappointed that we were unable to get mattresses for both beds, only 1! The very best part of this beach is the restaurant. A very unassuming style, basic chairs & tables, think white plastic garden furniture. Staff are friendly & helpful. An extensive menu with a mix of traditional Greek dishes & your usual burger & chips etc. But we come here for one dish, a simple tuna salad. It is probably the best tuna salad on the island, in fact I can honestly say it is one of the best I have ever had!!! It comes in, what we refer to as a bottomless bowl! The reason for this description is quiet simply, it seems to go on forever, which is a good thing as it is sooooo tasty. Don't say we didn't warn you! If you have this as a late lunch you will not be eating again for the rest of the day! They have an OK wine & beer selection. You are sure to have a lovely relaxing lunch overlooking the beach. Then back down to beach for a walk along the waters edge or slip back onto the sunbed, top up the suncream & have a little afternoon nap...ahhh 😊

Lovely beach and the water is so warm. The beach is sandy but doesn't have the golden colour Cyprus is usually known for. There is a popular restaurant nearby where you can eat fresh fish. It's also not as busy as other beaches in the area. Plenty of parking too.
