The Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller is a must-visit for dinosaur enthusiasts and families. The museum features interactive exhibits, including locally discovered fossils and replicas of dinosaurs like the Albertosaurus, Triceratops, T-Rex, and an impressive 21-meter long Ichthyosaur. Visitors can also observe palaeontologists at work in the preparation lab and enjoy hands-on activities designed for children.
We had such an awesome time at the Royal Tyrrell Museum! Honestly, it’s probably the best and most interactive museum I’ve ever been to. It’s super fun for both kids and adults—really well set up so everyone can enjoy it. The place is huge, and tickets were super reasonable—we paid $21 per person and spent about 3 hours there, but we could’ve easily stayed longer. A lot of people were taking their time and walking through more slowly. One of the coolest parts is how you walk through different time periods, starting way back in the Precambrian era and moving forward through Earth’s history. It’s crazy to see how much life has changed over millions of years. And the fossils? Unreal. They have tons of them, including full dinosaur skeletons and even one called Borealopelta that still has skin and stomach contents. There’s also a massive T. rex and a section dedicated to Alberta’s own Albertosaurus. There are also fun hands-on activities, like fossil dig spots and touchable displays, which are great for kids (and adults who like to play). The museum is located right in the Drumheller badlands too, which makes the whole experience even cooler. If you’re anywhere near the area—or even if you’re not—it’s 100% worth the trip!

Absolutely amazing! I was so glad to hear that we would be visiting within our travels, it is the perfect place for anyone who is interested in dinosaurs, evolution but I think even people who are not into museums would enjoy it as it is very engaging with great exhibits. There is a gift shop, a cafe and huge parking lot so many people will fit which also means it will be crowded. The cafe, however, closes sooner than the official closing time so just be mindful of that when visiting.
Suza — Google review
Wonderful place, amazing exhibits, there were so many exhibits that are original and complete, including the world famous T-rex fossil that they called "Black beauty". Love the arrangement of the whole museum that guide you through the begining of time to modern days, showing fossils related to each era. Love the conservation that the paltencologist and the government have done so far (they declared that any fossil found in Canada belongs to the gov instead or individual, which is great! History belongs to us, not any individual) Great place for all ages, especially those who are interested in dinosaurs and histories.

Visit: October 2025 Very cool museum with so many dinosaurs! It was really really cool to see so many originals and there was a lot of different exhibits to see. Definitely learned a lot. And you can see the passion for dinosaurs in the city and in this museum! I especially liked the Cretaceous zone, as it was a really different vibe and was really cool to see different live plants The cafeteria food was also pretty good and decently priced!
Daniel T — Google review
If you want to see amazing dinosaurs and at very affordable adult price, here's where you want to be. 21$ Canadian. This place is incredibly informative, amazing, well put together and laid out building. There's even an area where you can watch through a window and see people working there restoring dinosaur bones and doing the fine parts of preservation needed in the field. nothing but respect for this museum. if you love dinosaurs then here's the place to go!
Kolat 1 — Google review
I really enjoyed visiting the museum again after nearly a decade. I used to live in Alberta, and this was one of the field trip destinations we visited as kids during school. It was also a special place where my family would bring me and my cousins. I’ve always loved it here, there’s so much to see and learn. Coming back brought back a lot of great memories.
Kitty P — Google review
One of the best museums in Alberta if not Canada. We went on Saturday during the long weekend which met it was super busy. Definitely need to buy tickets in advance since the standby line was over an hour wait with no guarantees you'd get in. Also when super busy don't bother with circling the parking trying to find a spot just go to the overflow lot which had plenty left. If more people did that there wouldn't be a traffic jam trying to get into the parking! They have a golf cart complimentary to shuttle you back go the entrance or there's a short path that leads back to the front. We booked for 2pm and came a bit early but they only allow you to start queuing 5 minutes before your time slot so we walked outside a bit. There's a nice viewpoint in front of the museum and an interpretive trail about 1 km long. Once we were inside the place was definitely crowded but I've experienced much worst in other large museums so great work on the museum staff for the time entry. I think it made a big difference in being able to enjoy it without being packed like sardines. If you plan ahead like we did you'll have a wonderful time so don't trust all the 1 star reviews complaining about wait times!
Francis — Google review
Alberta’s best museum! Very well-curated - lots of originals (not just casts) and easy to understand the descriptions, each section is thoughtfully put together. Enjoyable for all ages. I was impressed by how accessible it is too for people with disabilities. Wheelchair rentals, ramps, elevators, break areas, interactive videos with subtitles, and supportive staff. Big fan of this place! We take all our family here who visit AB. Suggest adding translations into other languages as the history of evolution especially is so important for all to understand! And add books on the history of the Badlands and fossil fuels industry to the gift shop.

Such a fun activity to climb into and up the worlds largest dinosaur. Inside it is painted with creative colors and sections of fossil bones inside. When you reach the top you walk out of the dinosaurs mouth. The scenery is rolling hills, sage with the community below.

Visit: October 2025 It was so cool to see! Definitely very large, and it was fun to go up and see all of the decorations inside as well. Definitely something to stop by and see in Drumheller

What an awesome park. My kids had a blast. Very informative, I would recommend any one with kids to come down here and have a look around. Drumheller has a wonderful scenery as well, the layers of rocks makes it a beautiful place to look at fossils.

Come and see Worlds Largest Finosaur - Tyra the Tryanosaurus Rex! She's 86feet tall and what a beaut! Come and see this local treasure before the planned demolition in 2029! Voice your support for Tyra's existence for future generations!! Avoid the extinction!!
Josh — Google review
Good enough to climb up the world largest T rex's mouth but that is all. Great scenic point up there however there is nothing special. It is said that it will be demolished soon, so it would not be a bad idea to go up as a memorial.
할리치킨헤드TV — Google review
You can’t make a trip to Drumheller without seeing and climbing Tyra the T-Rex! Word is that she is being taken down in Dec 2029 when the lease runs out, so make sure you get here before then! Such a historical landmark since I can remember and sad to learn that she is going to go into extinction forever! It cost us $15 for our family of 3. Is it a money grab? 💯, but it is a fairly affordable experience even if it only takes a few minutes to climb the 106 steps within! You get the view and the clout to say you’ve been in a T-Rex’ mouth and survived! 😀 On a hot day when it’s busy, be prepared for a sweaty and humid wait near the top, as everyone (including us) snags a memory and takes in the view.

The Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site, located in the Red Deer River Valley, is a well-preserved 1930s coal mine that offers guided tours and a train ride. It is situated about 22 kilometers south of Drumheller and is known for being the best-preserved coal mining site in Canada.
We did the self guided tour. Spent about an hour on the site. It's in wonderful condition. I would have liked to do one of the tours, but it was such a hot day, I wasn't up to the climb to the top. Would definitely recommend visiting.
Shelagh R — Google review
Fascinating site, but very surface-level information given in tour. We (two adults) enjoyed the site, though found the Mine Portal Hike to be underwhelming and a very sanitized/basic level of information. I was hoping for more of a "historical documentary" level of knowledge, but the content seemed was appropriate for school children. Don't get me wrong, the tour guide was perky & enthusiastic, and it's not her fault the script was lacking. The tour -previously- included a much longer walk through the coal chute, but unfortunately part of the tunnel has collapsed.
Kate F — Google review
The Tipple and Mine tours were amazing! The tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. The historic site has a lot of artifacts on the mining history of the area. Great place to go for the day if you are doing multiple guided tours.
Robert M — Google review
Take a guided tour!!!!! You're already here, so get the most out of it. Ashley is a fabulous tour guide. He is super knowledgeable and his love of the stories of the people is evident in how he shares them. The hardhat is unnecessary, but adds some flair to the experience. We found lots of boards explaining the various buildings and machinery. Buying tickets in advance will save you some time!!! Also makes sure you get the time you prefer.
Jannean M — Google review
We had a fantastic visit on our way through! A must see along the Hoodoo Trail! We took the Mine Tunnel Hike Tour and our guide Mary was awesome! They answered all our questions and really knew their history! Wished we had had more time to do the other guided tours as well but make sure if Bob is there you stop to learn from him! Such a wonderful gem in the valley we learned so much! We did not buy tickets in advance - got there right at 10 - but would recommend buying in advance if you know you are coming and want to book a specific time for a specific tour - we got lucky and grabbed the last two spots on the mine hike!
Tessa F — Google review
Amazing experience and wonderful guides. It was fun and informative. My 14 and 12 yo boys also loved it. We did the processing tour and the train. Make sure to wear closed toe footwear!
Larissa S — Google review
Interesting history on the coal mines, lots to read about, good images and interactive. Save your money and don’t do the coal ride. The experience is great without it. Lots of bugs and no shade if you go during the summer.

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
The Star Mine Suspension Bridge, a 117-meter-long pedestrian suspension bridge, was built in 1931 to replace a cable car system and provide coal miners easy access to the nearby Star Mine. Located southeast of Drumheller's city center, this wobbly construction crosses the Red Deer River and offers visitors the opportunity to walk across it at their own risk.
During our trip to Drumheller last summer, my wife and I visited the Star Mine Suspension Bridge—and it was a really unique. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the badlands, the bridge itself is a historic and scenic spot that adds a bit of adventure to the day. Walking across the suspension bridge is a fun little thrill, especially as it gently sways beneath your feet. It offers great views of the Red Deer River and surrounding landscape, and there’s a real sense of history here—it was originally built for coal miners to access the Star Mine across the river. Knowing that you're walking a path that once carried workers to and from the mines adds depth to the experience. The surrounding area is peaceful and makes for a perfect short walk or picnic stop. It’s not a long hike or major attraction, but it’s definitely worth the visit if you're exploring the Drumheller area. Combined with nearby sights like the Hoodoos and Horseshoe Canyon, the Star Mine Suspension Bridge adds a nice historical touch to the natural beauty of the region.
NJ C — Google review
This suspension bridge is nice, but it is only the crossing and return section. It has no additional attractions as seen in the photos. It is free and people do not read that there are a maximum of 20 people on it, so you can see a lot of people on the ride.
Catherine V — Google review
I love this bridge and the landscape in the area! It's so fun to go across it and you can walk a bit on the other side but mostly all of it is private property except the path right near the river. We are pretty sure we heard a rattlesnake in the tall grasses which was exciting and kind of terrifying lol so I'd stick to the path!
Tara B — Google review
The Star Mine Suspension Bridge is such a fun and charming spot! Walking across it is a cool experience, especially when you step off and feel that bounce, almost like a trampoline. One of the sweetest touches is all the love locks attached along the sides, with little notes that add a really personal and heartwarming vibe. It's a peaceful place with a bit of character, definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!
Mr R — Google review
Very cool suspension bridge and very sturdy. The bridge did not sway aggressively with lots of people on at the same time. Beautiful water views, and you can hike on the other side if you would like. Some people put locks on the bridge. You will need to pay for parking.
S L — Google review
Another free attraction. Short walk over the suspension bridge. A brief description of its history is on the West side. The bridge does wobble a bit and if you are like me, scared of heights and movement, it really isn't too bad. The other side, nothing to see or do, but it is something to do.
Millicent L — Google review
Star Mine Suspension Bridge is a fun little stop with big views. A short hike gets you to the bridge, and once you're on it — wow. You get sweeping sights of the badlands, hoodoos, and that big Alberta sky. The bridge has a bit of a wobble, which makes it even more exciting (or terrifying, depending on your balance 😅). Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!
Chris — Google review
If you’re looking for a unique and picturesque winter experience, this suspension bridge is absolutely worth a visit. Located just a short walking distance from the main area, it offers an unforgettable experience, especially during the winter months when the surrounding landscape is blanketed in snow. The bridge itself is a marvel, swaying gently above a stunning natural setting, and the views are nothing short of breathtaking. The snow-covered scenery adds a magical touch, making it feel like something out of a winter postcard. Whether you’re looking to take in the serene beauty of nature or capture incredible photos, this spot will not disappoint. Walking across the bridge feels exhilarating, with the crisp winter air and the crunch of snow beneath your feet creating a memorable sensory experience. The area is well-maintained, and the pathway to the bridge is easy to navigate, making it suitable for visitors of all ages. If you’re a fan of peaceful winter walks and scenic views, this suspension bridge is a destination you won’t want to miss. Make sure to bundle up and take your time enjoying the journey—it’s a truly special spot that showcases the beauty of winter in all its glory.

Restaurant
Last Chance Saloon, established in 1913, is a remote and rustic bar located in Wayne, Alberta. This historic establishment has a colorful past, with framed bullet holes as evidence of its wild history. Once a bustling mining community, Wayne is now a ghost town just 10 km from Drumheller. The saloon offers delicious comfort food like burgers and grilled chicken, along with premium beers and liquors.
It was fun to eat here. There’s all sorts of memorabilia on the walls and a little history of the establishment at each table. Overall very good food. Gravy was real gravy. Brisket was tender. Cornbread was tasty. Bathroom was clean. Staff was very efficient, kind and helpful. 100% would go back. Went with three adults(1 vegetarian) and 2 kids. We all enjoyed our meal. Generous portions but not too much.
Cheryl A — Google review
Really neat place for a lunch and really nice staff ready to help. The outside sitting area is actually cooler then inside but it was super hot when we visited. On cooler days probably ok to sit inside. We were a group of 6 and had various brisket burger and pulled pork burger, brisket salad and the mash bowl. Everything was good but we did find the brisket a bit dry. Luckily they have hot sauces available which help. The pulled pork however was delicious and so was the salad. The baked beans which is an option instead of fries were actually really good. Had pineapple pieces in it which made it sweet which I really liked.
Francis — Google review
There aren’t enough stars for this place! My son has sesame, peanut, modified milk and tree nut allergies. I reached out to them one day before our visit via email and the response from them was incredible caring and kind. First of all, there are no nuts in this facility (pun intended). They went through the menu to determine items suitable for sesame and modified milk. We exchanged several emails to clarify suitable items. When we arrived, our servers too were super caring and careful. It is very hard for us to eat outside as a family, especially for burgers (due to sesame and modified milk). We are beyond grateful for Last Chance Saloon, where we had a not only safe but also super tasty dinner. We will always remember them as one of the nicest parts of our time around Calgary. As if their kindness is not enough, the Saloon itself is historical, full of interesting articles, has nice outdoor seating and as local as it gets. Tip: try to go sooner than later in the day since there’s generally a line up and seating for the day may get closed before the closing time because of that.
Irem B — Google review
What a hidden gem! Worth the drive... actually, the drive is part of the experience! We were greeted with friendly staff, an amazing atmosphere full of fun stories and history. We enjoyed the burgers and although mine wasn't made as I had asked they quickly apologize and made it again with little wait. Try the onion rings...they were the best I have ever had! Highly recommend checking this place out!

This place did not disappoint at all! Had to check out when we were in area. Meals fantastic for our group of 4 and 1 k9. We had brisket sandwiches and wraps a chicken and rib platter and Luke chose the meatballs off the k9 menu. Also had water and clean bowls for him to drink from. Waitress was awesome with recommendations and stories. Can’t wait to return.
Kathy R — Google review
If you are near here or planning a trip close by, this place MUST be added to your list of stops. The first thing you get is two happy lovely smiles from the friendliest servers you will ever meet. If they boast about their sangria, take their word for it and get one. The atmosphere is from another era. The mining history of their town is captivating and the ceiling is covered in signed currency from around the world. The food is incredible and the prices are more than manageable. If I'm ever back in the area I will go here wether I'm hungry or not.
Jason M — Google review
My husband and I, and my brother, came to this area because we all heard of the Eleven Bridges to Wayne. Once we got here, we discovered so much more. We pulled up to the Saloon at about noon. The parking lot was already filled to the brim with cars, tricks and motorcycles. The restaurant is that popular. We never ate here because when we planned the trip, we had no idea what was here. We brought along a picnic lunch and ate it at the Wayne Picnic Area, adjacent to the Saloon. After lunch, we wandered into the Saloon. The staff was so friendly and, even though they knew we were not going to order food, they suggested we wander throughout the place and take pictures. Almost every available wall and ceiling space was covered with pictures, signs, money, antlers, antiques . . . even irons. And when the waitresses brought out platters of food, our mouths were watering. Everything looked and smelled so good. Next time, and there will be a next time, we will dine here. The pictures are from the back patio and the attached hotel. The saloon advertises that it supports local businesses and just as we were leaving a van pulls up from Valley Brewing in Drumheller. Right on cue! Just outside the entrance to the saloon is a kiosk that sells Fermented Fire Hot Sauce products. These people make the best hot sauce and killer pickled peppers called Cowboy Candy. This one's sweet and hot. The company's located in Munson. You really must try their product. So good!!!!!! Oh . . . and the Eleven Bridges are so cool!
Daniel C — Google review
Such a cool and unique spot! Last Chance Saloon is full of character and history—it feels like stepping back in time in the best possible way. The atmosphere is cozy, quirky, and truly one-of-a-kind, with so many little details and vintage touches that make it special. The staff is absolutely charming—so friendly and welcoming, they made us feel right at home. We came here twice during our trip because we loved it so much, and even took some BBQ to go! The barbecue was delicious — perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Drumheller or anywhere nearby. A little off the beaten path, but that’s exactly what makes it unforgettable.

Scenic spot
The Willow Creek Hoodoos, located in the Canadian Badlands near Drumheller, are a must-see natural wonder. These otherworldly sandstone formations, some reaching up to 20 feet tall, have been shaped over millions of years by wind and water erosion. The Hoodoo Trail offers easy access to these unique pillars and is a popular stop for hikers and road trippers alike.
The Willow Creek Hoodoos are absolutely stunning and well worth the visit. The short hike in is scenic and peaceful, and once you reach the hoodoos, it feels like stepping into another world. The unique rock formations are perfect for photos, and the whole area has a quiet, untouched beauty. Great for a quick stop or a relaxed afternoon exploring. Highly recommend. Parking was $3 per hour.

The Willow Creek Hoodoos are absolutely stunning! A hidden gem with breathtaking rock formations and peaceful surroundings. It’s not too crowded, so you really get to enjoy the natural beauty and unique landscapes. Perfect spot for photos, a short hike, or just taking in the views. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

I visited this place as a tourist while living in Calgary, and I hesitated for a while, wondering if it was worth driving 200 km to get there. But I was truly amazed — and I’m so glad I went! The views are absolutely breathtaking, with stunning rock formations and landscapes you won’t see anywhere else. It’s definitely a must-visit spot, and you won’t regret making the trip.

A scenic spot that very few know to visit. This is one of the famous locations where a Bollywood movie’s song - Jaadu from Koi Mil Gaya was shot at. All natural formation with enough parking(paid) and good experience.
Vikramjit B — Google review
Lots of history and nature here. No entry fee which was very good . Decent parking spaces. They also had small ice cream booth near Parking which was great as it was super hot when I visited these hoodoos. Wear good shoes as it is bit slippery to walk there.

Nature is simply Beautiful! And the weather was perfect as well. Definitely recommend as a spot to stop at, try climbing and take beautiful pictures. This is not stroller friendly by the way.
Jummy K — Google review
Lovely place. Paid parking is available on the opposite side. When I went during the evening time, it was not that crowded however before I was leaving, the place was swamped. But still enjoyed the view.😊Wanna visit there once again, just wanna climb the rocks😍
Sonya H — Google review
Pay to park and do as you wish! Way better than anything else in the area. Make sure you have good shoes on. It’s a free for all when climbing up, not for the weak! It was fun to navigate ourselves up and down, fun for the kids to figure it out. It’s a nice spot for pictures. I wouldn’t recommend when it’s wet or raining. It’s a beautiful place to visit and no so crazy packed like everywhere else. Enjoy!

The Little Church, located in Drumheller, Alberta, is a famous tiny church originally built in 1968 and rebuilt in 1991. Despite its small size, it serves as a place of worship and meditation, accommodating only six people at a time. The chapel features benches and real stained glass windows, offering visitors a unique spiritual experience. This popular roadside attraction is free to visit and holds regular services despite its dollhouse-like appearance.
This is the cutest sweetest little church I have ever seen. The door is may be 6 feet plus inside there are six little benches and the pew is so cute. The stained glass windows complete the scene and the exit has such beautiful words. I recommend that everyone who visits Drumheller should visit the little church.

Beautiful little church — quiet and peaceful. I loved it. It has a small door, about 6 feet tall, with six cute little pews and stained glass windows. We sat down for a couple of minutes and felt very peaceful. The whole visit takes about 5– 10 minutes. It’s located very close to the Royal Tyrrell Museum.
Rach P — Google review
The little Church really lives up to its name, just a small group of people gathered in faith. It’s a cute little attraction, whether you’re in town or just passing through. We stop by every time we visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum. Sometimes it’s busy and you’ll have to wait your turn to take photos, but other times it’s nice and quiet.
Kitty P — Google review
It a cute little church. Photogenic spot and kept very clean. There was no crowd as I arrived early in the morning.

The Little Church is a beautiful and peaceful spot tucked away in the heart of Drumheller . It's full of charm and history — you can feel the love and care that’s gone into preserving it over the years. Whether you're stopping by for quiet reflection, to take photos, or just to admire the architecture, it's well worth a visit. A perfect reminder that sometimes the smallest places leave the biggest impression. Highly recommended if you're exploring the area. Free parking for 4-5 cars but you could also park on the side road.
Chris — Google review
This is so cute. Saw it on a day with a little bit of rain. Right off the road, which is a shame as taking photos from behind the church aren't as good. Plus, make sute you are there alone, as you can't fit many people inside & photos wouldn't be as good. Luckily got there with no one around, then one car came.

"Peace to all who enters" & yeah, that's trueee🥰I got a chance to experience that. Visited this small little beautiful church when I went to Drumheller🥰Very calm and quiet place.

This little church in Drumheller is a must see. It sits about 6 people and its spotless clean. Makes the perfect spot for all kind of pictures. Two windows are colour stained and are so beautiful.

The Badlands Amphitheatre, located in the Red Deer River Valley about 22 kilometers south of Drumheller, is a natural outdoor amphitheater with seating for around 2,500 people. It hosts various events such as outdoor plays, concerts, and fireworks displays. The site is best known for the annual Badlands Passion Play depicting the life of Jesus Christ and also features concerts by well-known artists.
Beautiful amphitheatre with a wonderful performance. They offer golf cart lifts if you have difficulty with the walk and terrain. Pre-ordered picnic lunch was delicious. Will be back.

our experience here watching the passion play was outstanding. first off the staff and volunteers are so organized and supportive in your experience at the site from foh ushers to numbered bathroom stalls. every detail was thought out making it that much more easy to let yourself get immersed in the show. they sent a very comprehensive email detailing recommendations to make your time there more comfortable. we took pillows to sit on the hard wooden benches. we brought lots of water, hats, sunscreen, and ways to cool of as we were seeing the 4pm show which meant we would be back lit in full sun for the whole show. this venue is absolutely astounding. being a natural amphitheater meant that voices carried with ease. the variety in which they used the landscape was absolutely incredible. seriously an unreal experience. i would highly recommend coming here to see the passion play to absolutely anyone.
Meg W — Google review
We caught Blue Rodeo here in August 2024. The setting is surreal, the acoustics surprisingly good, the venue comfortable friendly and well organized. Drumheller has the dinosaur museum, which is a pretty good attraction. Combine that with an outdoor concert, for a first time trip to Heller, and you have an outstanding.adventure.
Dale C — Google review
My daughter and I had a fantastic experience seeing the Passion Play! Every single base was covered from golf cart lifts from the parking lot, clean bathrooms (that were for women only during intermission! So smart!), someone coming around to pick up garbage, people directing traffic. Just so so well done! These are the little details that really elevate the experience. Ans the play! Oh my - so incredible! It was our first time and we can't wait to come again next year!
Karri S — Google review
Watched my neighbour Jann in the Badlands. It was spectacular! We went mid Aug '25, and the sun was setting as she hopped on the stage around 845pm. While she continued, dusk fell, and the lights around the stage illuminated the hoo doos, setting a wondrous backdrop. You're parking in the hoo doos, so it's a dusty hike to the seating area. The volunteers do a bang up job guiding and organizing hundreds of cars. It can be a mild hike from where you park to the venue, but there were golf carts transporting people with mobility issues. I was not prepared for the mosquitoes. I recommend layering up. It was a warm night, no rain, so I went in a t-shirt. Now, I deserved the ones on my arms, but I could not believe how many of the bloodsucker got me through my socks. I had 11 bites on my right foot alone between my shoe and my pant cuff! Other recommendations - consider a seat cushion to place on the wooden bench. Also, we sat in row H, second row, and we didn't know there was a clearing at the base of this row where people gather to dance. Some wore glow in the dark necklaces on every limb, which was fun, albeit distracting. I probably would have preferred to sit further back. You get a better appreciation of the environment. All-in-all, I highly recommend taking in a concert here if you get a chance!
Travis O — Google review
We attended Roots, blues and BBQ Sept. 6, 2025. Every artist playing was amazing, and the acoustics phenomenal. The pre-ordered "supper" was very disappointing. The amount of brisket in the bun was not quite a tbsp. There were. We no condiments on it, and for $25 it was definitely not worth it. If we went again we would order the hamburger from the concession instead. It had an actual piece of meat on it. Do not waste your money on the prepaid order.
Wendy S — Google review
Saw Amanda Marshall and Jan Arden here this weekend. First time going to this outdoor amphitheater. The atmosphere and sound in here was awesome!! The abundant staff and volunteers are great and always friendly and helpful. Served locally made beer and drinks that were great. We had perfect weather, but that could obviously change your experience. What a Gem, and 2 great canadian artists. Sorry we missed Alan Doyle.

Very unique landscape. Perfect place to spend a day for lifetime experience.

Amazing place for dinosaur passionate. My son was extremely happy. The museum is great, and the expeditions in the desert to search real dinosaur bone fragments or solidified wood were the highlight of our trip.

We loved exploring the unique landscapes of this park. The territory was very clean and well maintained. It is a great place to come with the whole family.

The area is so interesting. The drive in feels like an amusement park ride. We did the family Dino stomp tour and it was great! We explored and found fossils.
Adam P — Google review
It was a great experience, kids will enjoy the museum. The life-size dinosaurs are amazing, lots of reading, too. There's a fee to access to the museum, but it's worthwhile. On the other hand the landscape of the park is breathtaking, the mild steps of the stairs make it easier to reach the top. Once you are at the top, you will see the surrounding areas as if it was intentionally put it there. Beautiful and you will thank the mother nature for this blessing.

Good place for a day trip. The city is very small and not many amenities. Tyrell museum, world’s largest dinosaur and hoodoos are the main attractions. You can hike some of the mountains from the trail behind the museum. It’s nature’s wonder. You won’t see the same composition of land anywhere else. I go once in few years to visit.

Amazing Alberta provincial park located next to the town of Drumheller. Very accessible to all visitors. Home of the Royal Tyrell Museum as well, amazing place to experience the prehistoric history of the province. Park includes many paved and gravel walking/hiking paths, as well as trails for bikes as well. Lots to see within the park boundaries! A must see if visiting the area.

The landscape makes you feel you are in another planet. It is a surreal and humbling place to visit. You could easily imagine Giant dinosaurs walking the terrain. Icing on the cake is the Royal Tyrrell Museum. See for real yourself an amazing collections of dinosaur skeleton, bones and fossils. Such a great day out for the whole family.

The East Coulee School Museum, located at 320 Railway Ave E in Drumheller, is a restored schoolhouse from the 1930s that offers a glimpse into the region's coal mining past. The museum features various exhibits and hands-on activities within its historic 12-classroom setting. Visitors can explore different rooms showcasing a 1930s classroom, a coal miner's shack, a fossil room, and more.
This is a very interesting museum that offers a fascinating look at the region's coal mining history, the community that grew around it, and former school that was closed in the 1970s as the town's population dwindled. (After the remaining community came together to fix the school, it reopened as a museum in 1985). It's definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Wonderful experience as a school to visit this museum. They still have the fun playground equipment. Great experience for all.

Wow! What a truly memorable experience at the East Coulee School Museum. We had our 2 cats in their carriers , so it was great that they allowed us inside with them. This place is a hidden gem, if you are in the Drumheller area. There is so much history in this one place. The classrooms with true stories in those books on the desks , are a grim reminder of what life used to be. The staff mentioned that there have been spooky experiences , but none of them are harmful. We were denied entry at the Atlas Coal mine because of our fur babies and that’s how we found this museum. And we are so glad we did. They also have a cute cafe and a lovely gift shop attached. Here are some pictures of our experience.

The manager Cindy helped me so much with researching my family history in East Coulee. It was amazing that she found my grandfathers attendance records from 1945! The museum has a lot of local history and the staff are very welcoming! I am so happy I got to walk the same halls my Grandpa did as a kid. This is an excellent museum with a lot of artifacts that showcase the rich history of East Coulee! Thank you so much Cindy, my family are amazed at the history you helped me find.

This museum is literally a school that preserves common areas and part of the history of the town, which was a mining town so there are many interesting pieces regarding the life of the miners, their families and the boom of the 1920s.

So fascinating the walk threw an old school and the history was so neat to hear about ...I would totally recommend stopping in and having a walk around ...the staff are very pleasant and very knowledgeable and prices are affordable...and they also have a licensed restaurant so when u want to put your feet up and have a drink you can ....

Very cool place that gives you a glimpse of an bygone era. I played a 100+ year old piano and my kids were able to use a typewriter and even keep the paper that they typed random stuff on. I also perused a book from the late 1800s that one of the staff brought out to me and read another school book from 1921.

Bernie & The Boys is a quirky and family-friendly bistro in Drumheller, known for its gourmet burgers, subs, pasta dishes, and a variety of milkshakes. The restaurant has gained celebrity status after being featured on the Food Network's 'You Gotta Eat Here.' It prides itself on using local ingredients in their dishes, particularly their 100% Alberta beef burgers.
One of the best diner burger & shake experiences I've had! This place is the real deal! A tasty, juicy burger, incredibly well seasoned, surprisingly herbaceous fries, and legitimately maybe the best milkshake I've ever had AND, not to mention the best milkshake selection I've ever personally encountered. An outstanding restaurant, a must visit stop for anyone lucky enough to be in the vicinity. You gotta eat here!
Connor H — Google review
Fantastic service as soon as we walked in. Prepare to be overwhelmed by a plethora of choices and come hungry! What incredible portions and their fries were sensational. We were especially impressed by the milkshakes and kids meals. Everyone was accommodating to our tired crew and the highlight was when some of the kids got to meet Bernie! Very cool. We will definitely be back!
Amber C — Google review
The store name intrigued my husband and I, we couldn't leave Drumheller without stopping here first! Walking in felt like taking a step back in time but with a modern twist. The older gentleman was super welcoming and gave amazing recommendations. We got double G's special burger, red velvet cake & cheesecake milkshake, passion fruit milkshake. I was concerned that they would be too sweet but I found them to be perfect! The Burger's were filling, juicy and tickled our taste buds just right! I would recommend anyone to stop by here for an unforgettable experience!
Questy — Google review
We discovered this place through a video on YouTube. When you arrive you have to wait in line to pay to order your products and then they assign you a table. The food was good but the fries had a strange color apparently from the reheated oil. The burgers were good though. Dirty bathroom with no paper and no parking.
Catherine V — Google review
Food was good we expected great from the reviews. The fries were too salty so I couldn't finish them. The burger was good it just needed more seasoning. Milkshake was delicious. It is pricey so expect that when you go. But it was good for one stop and I still recommend checking it out.
Laura B — Google review
Definitely bring your appetite. You can purchase single, double or triple decker burgers. The menu for milkshakes is amazing . A must stop !
Kimberley F — Google review
I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to burgers, and I was quite disappointed, primarily by the beef patty itself. Its rubbery and dense consistency, and lack of flavour, left me feeling like I’d had better burgers from the freezer at the grocery store. The milkshake was pretty good.
Craig K — Google review
These burgers are amazing... If your looking for a hidden gem with good burgers and great milkshakes this is the place for you. I ordered a triple burger and had to eat a patty separately, so the burger was mouth size. Juicy, flavorful and filling... 10/10 will come again

Water park
The Rotary Spray Park in Drumheller is a popular seasonal attraction that offers families a refreshing break from their adventures. With water canons and fountains, kids can have a blast while adults enjoy the ample greenspace, picnic tables, and benches for picnicking. The park is conveniently located near other attractions like the Worlds Largest Dinosaur and the downtown shopping district. It's operational from Victoria Day weekend to Labour Day weekend, making it an ideal spot for beating the heat during summer.
Lovely little splash park, also with a big fountain to wade in. Dinosaurs a big part of the decor. I can verify as of Sept 8, it was still going at 7:00 pm so they did extend their seasonal hours.
Danelle W — Google review
Great splash park, with a fun theme. The wading pool was really cool. Only issue was a lack of shade. A few sun shades could go along way. As there was a lot of people in the little shade there.

Good spot for kids and families to hang out. River view nearby and lots of local shops to go to. Something to look forward to seeing every summer!
Karen E — Google review
This is a family-friendly setting that is fun for kids. When I visited the park with my family I saw several people having a picnic.
James C — Google review
Tha best! It was so hot when we arrived and my kids love water. It's more than a splash park. They have a large wait pool with fountain and it's free! Highlight of our trip 😉
Nichole T — Google review
Rotary Spray Park was a bit disappointing. There was some construction going on, which made it less enjoyable. The dinosaur features look quite old, and the paint is faded, so it doesn’t have the same excitement it probably once did. It’s okay for a quick stop with kids, but definitely could use some updates and maintenance.
Hapi G — Google review
Lots of picnic tables. Free public washrooms close. Shaded areas. Lots of dinosaur sculptures around. We just went to the park to eat lunch; no tickets, no cost
Lise B — Google review
I thought this was good! Only complaint is you don't get enough time. We went all the way to the top and a family was behind us, so we didn't want to make them wait with it being so hot out.

Valley Brewing is a charming microbrewery located in the heart of Drumheller, offering a variety of delicious beer options. The brewery features an inviting patio overlooking a lush park, making it an ideal spot to savor their award-winning beers such as Discovery Raspberry Ale and Full Steam Copper Lager. Visitors can also enjoy the cozy indoor seating and friendly service from knowledgeable staff like Carly.
The Taproom offers a nice selection of beer, like the beer tasting cards that come with the flight boards, and their growlers feature a nice design. My sister was checking out the pop. You don't get to see the brewery part; it's just the taproom you're in. I didn't get a chance to see if they offer any food; I was just there for a flight board and a growler. The server did a good job writing on the tag; it looks professional.

We had a fantastic experience at Valley Brewing! The Aerial Lime Gose was a highlight refreshingly tart with a perfect lime twist. The patio was a great spot to enjoy it, offering beautiful views that added to the overall vibe. Highly recommend a visit for great beer and a lovely atmosphere!

Well I figured id wait until I visited a couple of times to write a review. Everytime I go here the employees seem bored and a agitated. I order a flight of beer they typically just drop it on the table and I pay. Honestly the attitude when I go here is off putting and I feel uncomfortable approaching the counter. The beer however is really good and the patio if quite nice. I do recommend it. But the employees really need to be a bit more welcoming.

First time visiting this brewery.. The brewery in drumheller had kids running around the place the day we went.. also a t had very strongly perfume smell in the brewery.. We had the flight board and the soda … The discovery mixed berry ale was not my favourite but full steam copper lager was good …

Great selection of beers! We stopped here while camping near by and picked up a couple of cold ones to partake in Adult bevies around the fire. This place did not disappoint. After chilling our beer to the appropriate temperature. (Cold as you know what) we opened up the can of Pilsner. The cold crisp clear taste was just what we needed after a warm day. Looks like we will be stopping back in to stock up before heading home.

Newcastle Beach, situated in the town of Drumheller near the Red Deer River, is a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The beach offers a sandy area with amenities such as a covered picnic shelter, washrooms, and a playground. It's known for its tranquil atmosphere and ample shade from surrounding trees. While not overly crowded, it's an ideal place to cool off on hot days.
It's a lovely beach to chill during summer time. Nothing fancy, but enjoyable. The water is not cold, and it's kid-friendly. There is one portable toilet that I can see, and you can also go boating or canoeing from this spot.
Lily R — Google review
Really nice spot on the river. There are also other amenities there (hockey, baseball, dog park ...) but for us it was the beach that we wanted. We swam, caught crayfish, and kayaked. If you cross the river a little upstream, you can kayak up the river offshoot until you reach the river again barely upstream of some decent rapids! So that was strenuous but fun!
Nicole H — Google review
Recently visiting Newcastle beach for just the second time with the purpose of finding birds ands taking photographs, I must say this park has its own attractions. Although small, sections are well treed, providing good habitat for a variety of species. With the Red Deer River at hand, even turkey vultures soar above, a real treat for bird watchers. This past Tuesday, the park was quiet, peaceful and only adds to the wellness of anyone who would take time to visit. Known as an Alberta hotspot for birds, it's well worth the stop.

It's the only beach and Drumheller that they have available to the public it's not horrible it's a nice place to go on a hot day. And if you just wanna chill and enjoy the sun. Just figured out that they do have bathrooms and free showers at the entrance in the building off to the left (west) side of the road. but it's a great place 4 tubing and suitable for families with little ones. The river is so calm and you can pretty much walk most of it. they have boat access to the river for your canoes, boats and whatever else. I come here every year and I have so much fun and enjoy the sun every time. Drumheller Is my Arizona in Alberta. Xoxoxo great ppl too.

Fantastic little beach. The water is the perfect temp. Not cold but still cool on a very hot day. 👌 It's a sandy beach, not rocky as mentioned in another comment. Bring the sand toys! It gets rocky deeper in. However, BEWARE, there is a strong current here. Only strong swimmers should go in anything more than waist high, if that. My kiddos had a ton of fun but I had to stay right close to them and keep pulling them back in. I'm a strong swimmer and even I was no match for it lol. It does go deep, keep the littles in the shallow part. What a great workout to swim against the current though! Loved that, if I lived here I'd 💯 be swimming here regularly!

A Hidden Gem in Drumheller! Visited the Homestead Antique Museum during a day trip to Drumheller and was pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it! The museum is filled with an incredible collection of antiques that offer a real glimpse into pioneer life—from furniture and tools to clothing, household items, and even a two-headed calf. As someone who works in the dental field, I was especially fascinated by their old dental setup. They had a vintage X-ray machine, dental chair, and old instruments on display—it was so interesting to see how far the field has come! The staff were also super friendly and great to chat with, adding to the overall charm of the experience. It’s not a huge museum, but it’s thoughtfully curated and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. A lovely, nostalgic stop that really rounds out the Drumheller experience!

A must-visit attraction is the Royal Tyrrell Museum, offering a fascinating insight into prehistoric life. Families will find Drumheller an ideal destination with various activities beyond the iconic Worlds Largest T-Rex.
The Drumheller visitor center is also the world's tallest Dinosaur. To go I side the Dinosaur the ticket price as of today was $5/person. I guess 3 and under were free. The staff there were super friendly they will give you suggestions on places to visit and how to reach there and what to expect when you reach there. They were quite knowledgeable about the area and surrounding locations.

Had the most fun time in Drumheller and visiting the World’s Largest Dino!!! We were obsessed with the dinosaurs all over town and the nearby Hoodoos/trails. Such a little town with so much to offer! At the visitor center, there was a lovely person working with glasses that provided so much helpful information - thank you thank you thank you!

I drove almost 12 hours straight the other day just to take my kids out to see the dinosaur, I would do it again tomorrow if it wasn't for the gas cost. Lots of fun things to do in drum and the I formation center here is one of the best first stops to be made here. Good information on the valley aswell as help from many locals can make for the best experience down here. Just aswell seeing the valley I the fall or early winter is beautiful.

So sad this world-class attraction is being decommissioned this year. A sad day for sure. Our granddaughter will be heartbroken 💔 to see it gone during our next annual vacation to Drumheller this summer. The big dino is the highlight of her visit, but we may have to look for another place to visit that will capture her excitement when we go on our next summer camping trip. 😥 I am advised the giant tyrannosaurus will be closed in 2029 which is good for us. Our granddaughter will be a teenager and probably more interested in boys than dinosaurs. As far as Drumheller goes, my personal opinion is that tin giant is the epicenter of a great place to visit, eat, and explore. It just seems foolish to remove the most loved attraction by young and old. It is unique, functional, fun, and an icon that is as spectacular as Drumheller itself. When you tell people you were in Drumheller, they first thing they say is did you go to the dinosaur? If there is a way to save it, you should explore all possibilities. That’s just my two-bits worth.

Hard to locate despite the 100’ T-Rex, the signs tell you how get there…but not exactly where it is! Decent selection of locally themed souvenirs. Staffer I dealt with was cordial and helpful. Drumheller is a nice town, in a fascinating setting. I will try to see more of it, more often.

What a fabulous place to visit! Great directions, tips, and lunch recommendation. Wish I had asked for the gentleman’s name, but he was amazing and I’d come back just to have a chat with him. Thank you, from the Florida away team. Oh, and it’s well worth the $5 to climb to the top of the World’s Largest Dinosaur! RAWRRR!!! 🦖

As you approach the charming town of Drumheller, you'll be greeted by three delightful 'Welcome to Drumheller' signs that make for perfect photo opportunities. The first sign is located on Highway 56, leading directly into the heart of the town from the north. If you're coming in from the west, you'll spot an identical sign along Highway 9, which is a popular route for travelers. Lastly, there's another welcoming sign situated on Highway 575 at the end of the Dinosaur Trail loop.

If you're cruising through Drumheller and in need of a quick yet satisfying meal, look no further than Asteroid Cater. Nestled just a few kilometers south of downtown, this seasonal gem is renowned for serving some of the best burgers around. With its vibrant blue, castle-like exterior, it's hard to miss! During the summer months, it becomes quite popular among locals and visitors alike.
If the the large poutine can feed a family, the family size must be able to feed a hungry biker gang. When I ordered the large size, I didn’t expect a bucket, but for $11 I got one. It must have had 6 fresh cut potatoes, a pound of gravy, and another pound of the best pizza mozzarella money can buy. Price was extremely reasonable, and was hot, fresh and came to the window quickly. One of the last bastions of hope on the plains of Alberta while road tripping, I finally came across a true diner joint that is reminiscent of something you’d see 50 years ago. I’ll be back when I am in the area.

Charming Ice Cream Spot with Unique Ambiance If you’re a fan of ice cream served in creative styles, this is a must-visit! Besides ice cream, they offer a range of snacks, including fries and burgers. The parlour is complemented by a delightful garden with a small playground and toys for children, making it a family-friendly spot. Located right by the road, it can be a bit noisy—something to consider if you’re seeking a tranquil atmosphere. However, the quality of the food and the picturesque surroundings more than make up for it. The building has a whimsical, fairy-tale-like charm, reminiscent of old Cinderella-style houses, offering a perfect backdrop for photos. A lively, fun spot for an outing, though perhaps less ideal if you’re after a serene retreat.

Nice spacious patio with a garden and slide with toys for kids to run around. We got ice cream and fries. The fries were home cut and lovely golden brown. The old fashioned canteen type that are hard to find these days. Great stop if you have little kids. Friendly staff. Would come again.

The area offers various activities such as picnicking, playing sports, walking on paved pathways, and climbing hills. Fun for the whole family. Picnic area, restrooms open in the summer. Can play Frisbee, catch, soccer, fly a kite. Go for a walk on the paved pathways. You can cross the road safely after you push the pedestrian button. Cars are supposed to stop. Fun place to spend an afternoon. If the gates are closed you can still go in. Nice little place to stop for a picnic on the way to Tyrell museum. Lots of families there and it was only a Thursday. There are various picnic benches and also outhouse type washrooms (had hand sanitizer but no running water). There are walking paths. We didn't go very far but did see some nice cacti. Saw lots of people strolling and some on bikes as well.

Beautiful place to park your car, have a picnic and get onto the trail network that takes you right into town. I did a 12km run loop but once you cross the bridge into the other side, the trail markings get a little sketchy but you can stay pretty close to the river

Lots of prairie dogs around. 4 picnic tables, no flush bathrooms. No running water (the tap was broken when we went) please do not feed the prairie dogs, keep them wild! They will try to intimidate you or wag their tails for food lol good view of deadlands and nice scenery

Very nice hidden gem in town! I hung out here while waiting for the parking lot at Midland to clear out for the evening. The trail to the west offered up some very nice scenery. As it was a very hot afternoon, I did not traverse very far on this one, but did manage to take some spectacular photographs. Though not as aesthetically interesting, the trail to the south was wonderful as well; it offered up much appreciated shade from the hot July sun, and I was able to find the occasional fruit bearing saskatoon bush, which was my favorite thing about the area. The outhouse was clean and odor free. Some of the picnic tables were in the shade. Be careful where you step as the ground squirrels have made several holes, not all of which are easily visible. It was disappointing to see that someone had not cleaned up after their dog, perhaps a dispenser of bags for dog waste would help with this? Honestly, you could spend a whole day just in this park.

I love this place! Beautiful walking trail connecting drumheller and the museum. There are outhouses but i believe they are locked during off sesson, same as the park. You can park on the road though, but when its open, there is some parking inside. There is also picnic tables.

Scenic spot
When visiting Drumheller in Alberta, Canada, make sure to take a scenic drive to see the unique rock formations known as Hoodoos. These ancient structures are only found in a few places in North America and are a result of centuries of erosion on sandstone. The Hoodoos are thin spires with a hard rock cap that protects them from complete erosion.

We had a wonderful two-night stay in Drumheller, thanks in large part to this fantastic campground! We came all the way from the Netherlands, and this was one of the highlights of our trip through Canada. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help. The washrooms and showers were spotless, which made our stay even more comfortable. We were lucky enough to be the first guests to try out their brand-new rental bikes — such a great experience! We rode to the Atlas Coal Mine, the Hoodoos, and the fascinating Royal Tyrrell Museum. Renting bikes is definitely worth it if you want to explore the area in a fun and active way. We were passing thru the area yesterday towing our travel trailer when we began to have truck problems. The owners of this campground could not have been more helpful in getting us situated to bunk down and get some rest while we got our truck sorted out. Very nice little campground, quiet, family friendly, clean and well located right off the main road. Would highly recommend and will absolutely stay there again when in the area.

Do not stay here. Drove in at night. Dirty dusty roads throughout. Grass areas between campers are weeds. Noisy highway. This campground was the most expensive we stayed at travelling from BC to Sask and back and by far the worst. Lovely campground down the highway in Hanna - Fox Valley. To add insult to injury you have to pay for a shower after having paid $68 to stay.

They don't supply tea or sweetners. Its seems clean. Cons- is that you are only supplied with one door key. Smoking is all infront of each door. The smell comes right into room from smokers smoking cigarettes and drugs. Very convenient to have restaurant but the prices are a bit high. They could offer a discount if you are staying there.

Athens Greek Restaurant is a great place to get your Greek fix. It's family owned and run, with excellent chicken souvlaki and sweet baklava. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, making it the perfect spot for a meal with friends or family.
Excellent restaurant in Drumheller. Family operated. Great, caring service. Tasty foods. Our 10 month old daughter was also welcomed. When we were there the tables were full, yet the food arrived quickly. We had hummus and pita as a appy, plus mousakka and lamb souvlaki for our main dishes. Very pleased. Thanks for making this a highlight for our visit to Drumheller.

Wow, what a great restaurant. It's a hidden gem right before the bridge. The food was FANTASTIC. And the portions were huge. I've never had Greek food so good and authentic. The Greek potatoes are so soft and flavourful and the lamb, so tender and so juicy. My wife had the Moussaka and it was done so well. Make sure you get the mama salad as the side. The dressing is amazing. Service was fantastic and very accommodating to children. We had a group of 13 go with 7 kids and everyone left satisfied. Will definitely go again. This is the place to eat after a great day at Tyrell.

This is not a large restaurant but it was comfortable. The service was good but at the same time it was very slow. I really appreciated how kind and caring they were towards my 4 year old son. I had the chicken souvlaki and it was a very big portion and tasted delicious. We enjoyed the food very much and the price was good for what we got. I had had the baklava for dessert and it was well made and very sweet.
Melissa J — Google review
Had a decent experience here. Mixed review on the service which was awkward yet well-meaning. Decor is a bit hokey. Healthy sized food portions as each entree comes with rice, salad, potato, and bread. A friend and I split the calamari and one entree and it was enough for us. Great flavour in everything we had, and the chicken souvlaki was amazing, so tender and melted in our mouths.

The food here is tasty and the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food is served with a flourish (especially the ‘flaming cheese’ that they set in fire at your table; but some of the portions seemed small for the price. I would recommend for anyone looking for hot, delicious Greek food but at the price it is a bit more of an occasional treat.

My son is a dinosaur lover. Although he is not as passionate as he was when he was a child, the dinosaur fossils in Drumheller sparked his interest. We have been to many famous dinosaur museums, including those in the United States and China, but this fossil store is the best we have ever been to. There are many kinds of species, and the owner is very professional and enthusiastic. In the end, my son spent more than a hundred "deposits" here. He wanted to come again when we arrived in Calgary, but unfortunately we encountered heavy snow and had to wait until summer.

We love The Fossil Shop! The owner has so much neat stuff and is very knowledgeable! She took the time to chat with us, and shared a lot of great information about the different pieces. It was a very relaxed environment, and we didn’t feel rushed or pressured to purchase anything. We browsed for quite some time! I left with a bag of reasonably priced treasures, including polished rocks, dinosaur bones, and a little Ammonite piece, but there is so much more! We visit whenever we are in Drumheller.

I wanted to check this out on my way through and was pretty thrilled with how many things there were to peruse. I would not recommend bringing a child who wants to touch everything into this store - it is too tempting and then you will be in trouble! But the staff were absolutely lovely and understanding of my "need to touch the breakable stuff" toddler. He thankfully didn't break anything hahaha

I highly recommend their chicken club which was delicious with fresh ingredients and received very fast service. The outdoor seating is relaxing with a nice garden setting and the cool mist over the order windows is a great touch when it's really hot out. Easy to find right along the highway this is a perfect little oasis when visiting the Drumheller valley. Another bonus is there is plenty of parking in the huge lot.

This was such a great place to visit!! A beautiful outdoors environment that was great for dogs. My dad ordered the carnivore burger and didn’t realize that there was not bun, the staff were able to help him out and give him a bun without hesitation. The food was delicious and we’ll definitely be back! :))

Went to eat late lunch on Saturday, food was good, and onion rings were the best. Service was friendly with a smile. We played mini golf late Sunday around 7pm. $14 each. A bit pricy. Course was average, but if you play with right friends it makes it fun and enjoyable. Hole 16 was fun and crazy... want to try corn maze next time, never done one... rang the bell😁

My family and I had an amazing experience here! The owner and the staff are extremely kind. They helped me pick out a beautiful orthoceras necklace. When I got ice cream for my kids, the staff had fun asking what they would like. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable about the Drumheller area, and their fossils in the store.

Great little shop! I did not get his name, but the teen boy working there wearing the foam dinosaur hat was very friendly and helpful. He kept checking in with us as we browsed. Keep up the good work ethic dude! Very pleasant shopping experience overall

We had a small vacation in drumheller and on our way out from across the spray park we decided to grab a couple of souvenirs because we didn't get much at the Museum. The lady at the counter was definitely a gem no pun intended! We were curious about the geode and she was very helpful with letting us know that the colours would be similar to the keychain I purchased which sold me right away. She then provided us with a hammer and told us to go outside by the concrete pad and gave my husband instructions on how to do it properly. The picture below doesn't do it justice but I have not taken any pictures since we've gotten home.

Tried to serve us cold end of the day hot dogs that were most likely about to get tossed. I touched it and it was cold and she offered to microwave it for me….. no thanks. Do not eat here. No locals will ever go here so they only prey on tourists

Located in Drumheller, The Beef Club is a small family-friendly restaurant that offers a variety of delicious dishes. Visitors can enjoy items such as calzone, kids' pizza, steak sandwich, and the popular Desert Beer on tap. The staff is known for their friendly and welcoming service, making guests feel right at home. Despite some confusion with the old "Evans" sign still being up, the overall dining experience is highly praised.
Came during May Long weekend from out of town with a friend. The Beef Club was close to our hotel, so we decided to try it out for dinner. We were quickly greeted as soon as we entered and lead to some seats. The waitress explained about some of the items on the menu, and was quick to answer any questions we had. The staff here were awesome and friendly, joking a bit with us while we ordered and afterwards when we were paying for our meal. The food itself was tasty. I got the Hickory Burger, which I quite enjoyed.

This was a cute local place. We ordered a steak sandwich with parm/mozzarella fries, beef dip with mixed greens, and kids chicken fingers. Our server was a nice fellow and our food was really good. There was a confusion with where we were eating as they have an old "Evans" sign up with the other info for the beef club. They need to ditch that. Thanks for lunch.

What an amazing dining experience! Our server Jason was so friendly and efficient! The menu is wonderfully varied and each of our party had an equally delicious and varied dish. A very great meal for us all, we wish we lived closer to eat there more often :)

This was formerly Evans. If your worried about it, don't be. We order here every Thursday for our poker night and have not looked back. The pizza is the same great selection (Best in town) and the delivery service from Ian is great. We've ordered the wrong thing before and they called us back to confirm! Check it out!

In town for lunch, which took way too long to be considers lunch. We came in with my baby, I ordered the triple a sirloin tacos... I have already been steering away from enjoying meat, and every bite I had into my taco there was a piece of fat or tendon. Now I am not the type to say anything. I gave my fiancé the money to pay, and went to clean my baby up. There was not a high chair offered to us, but 2 sitting right there. And overheard the cook say that he only uses the fat and trimmings for the tacos. I read the reviews and they were great... Why cheap out in any aspect to a paying customer..

Friday of a long weekend, food came fast, burger was good, not fantastic but still very good. Yam fries should have a dip , aeoli or something. Server was exceedingly pleasant. No problem with this place. Maybe wait times could be big if it were busy, but it wasn't , and we didn't wait.

I went here on busy day on Easter and they just forgot about us. The cook saved the day coming to our table and serving us a delicious dinner. We couldn't try their famous hickory burger, so I'm looking forward to visiting them again and I hope to have a better experience.

Rosedale Bridge is a charming suspension bridge that, while not particularly long or high, offers an exhilarating experience for those who dare to cross. Constructed with transparent wire mesh, it sways gently as you walk, adding a thrill to your journey. Although it may seem overly robust for a gravel road, the bridge is well-maintained and provides stunning views both from its height and along the banks of the Red Deer River.
Seems a little bit over built for a gravel road, but it's well maintained and has great views up top and near the river.

Nestled in the heart of Drumheller, the Drumheller Public Library is a delightful haven for book lovers and families alike. Open Monday through Saturday with extended hours during the week, this library offers a bright and airy atmosphere filled with natural light. It's an ideal retreat from the summer heat or rainy days, providing cozy corners to dive into your favorite reads.
I love visiting this library. It is always a cool oasis during the summer heat. The staff are friendly and kind, and very helpful if you have questions. I appreciate the comfy seats throughout the room. The kids section has books at kid eye level so it is welcoming for young readers- which is fantastic! And they have posters in the non-fiction book section which direct the reader on how to find books on sensitive, personal subjects, so that you don’t need to ask staff for help if that makes you uncomfortable. That is such a wonderful idea! They also have a self checkout if that’s what you prefer. Great library!
Devon H — Google review
This is a wonderful library full of natural light! There is plenty of parking. And even better, the bike trail comes right here. Be sure to visit Hensley the rusting dinosaur out front. If you are in town visiting with children, bring them in for a fun place to play. There's a dedicated section of dinosaur children's book ready to read in the comfty chairs. Or there's lots of puzzles and toys for kids. In the teen section there are a variety of board games and puzzles. There are outlets throughout the library to charge all your electronics. And free WiFi! If you get hungry there's a small deli right outside in the community center.
Carrieaf — Google review
Not as safe a place as I'm sure some of the staff would want it to be. I don't blame them. I know they were being constantly harassed for certain policies. Unfortunately now I fear the LGBQT+ safe space isn't so safe either. I had hoped to find a place to meet like minded folks and not feel pressured to risk my health or my identity (yes I know my name is public on this review, I am not a coward) in a welcoming space. Sadly, (especially for some of the staff there who I know try their absolute hardest to make this a welcoming place) every time I have gone in there in the last 3 months it's felt less and less safe and more and more open hostilities have been noted. I hope this review doesn't discourage the staff who work so hard, but give them ammunition to keep fighting for a safe space be for all people to learn in Drumheller.

Great little place to visit. Everything is reasonably priced and the moving dinos tour was cool! My kids did the Dino dig, two girls working there were not enthusiastic to be doing their jobs. Washrooms were clean. Ample parking all around. I suggest selling food…we would have eaten lunch there! Keep up the great work.
Mark P — Google review
It's fun. The animatronix are cool. They offer 2 activity for an extra cost - dig your own fossil and mineral mining. It's not too big though, not much room to explore. We paid $30 for a family of 6. In excess of that you have to pay extra unlike Tyrell museum - $48 for a family of 6 (5 yrs under are freeand of course, it's not comparable to it...but overall we had fun. The giftshop is really loaded with interesting stuff you can't fi d elsewhere, even at Tyrell Museum.
Christina — Google review
A bit pricey for how small it is, but I can see how the animatronic dinosaurs are driving the price up, and my kids loved them. We weren't in there very long, we did the gemstone search. We were a bit put off at the very start that for my husband and I to help our young kids search for the gems to fill their vials, we had to pay an extra $2 each. They upgraded the size of 2 out of the 3 vials we got, which I didn't notice until we were in. In the future, please never change 2 out of 3 kids vials - either offer to upgrade all or don't bother - kids fight over stuff like this. A warning to any parents worried about chemicals on sensitive skin: the water in the gem digging containers understandably contains either chlorine or bleach. I'm sure this is a great thing for public safety and cleanliness, but there is no signs alerting people to this and a few in our clan with sensitive skin came home with a rash that we could only attribute to this. (Only on the hands/wrists, we didn't use any new soaps or lotions, etc.) Anyway, young children may become quite bored with the gems and give up easily so I'd recommend paying the extra for the privilege of assisting your kids find the gems they've paid to find or you'll have paid $7 (+$2) for a small plastic vial with a few rocks in it. We definitely loved the gift shop, though. It definitely has a much better selection than the RTM. I didn't feel very welcomed by the employees by the time we were done selecting our purchases, though. We had 3 young kids with us, each with money gifted by grandparents to purchase souvenirs on our trip. We were trying to look at the overwhelming amount of fossils and cool things in the store and it took my kids awhile to decide what to buy. On top of that, I was selecting 2 larger gift items for family members and also was there to pick out what I wanted for myself. My husband was trying to usher my children to stay together and cause as little commotion as possible while we were there, and we are very grateful that the woman behind the side counter was so lovely to them as they chose items and changed their minds. Keep in mind the store is packed with amazing finds and even my kids couldn't decide what to bring home. I walked around the entire store probably 4-5 times trying to help my kids find things then selecting each of the 3 larger items I was buying, and again, the woman behind the side counter was amazing and even showed me her favourite piece - an Agate Slice that looked like the ocean. It was a perfect choice for one of the gifts I needed, and I'd already selected an item for the first, which she wrapped up as I looked for what I wanted to buy. As I was finally deciding between two or three pieces, I was approached by not only the young gentleman who was at the main till when we entered, but also a woman who I assume is the owner. I explained exactly what I was doing to each, and after I finally brought up my items to pay, the lady I suspect is the owner came over and was flustered in her rude interrogation of the woman who had helped me while she was trying to choose a display stand for the agate. As an afterthought, I realized the owner may have suspected we were trying to steal items in that we were pretty distracting and I went back and forth a few times, but solely due to the last part of the experience, I don't think we would return. The main attraction pieces were fun to see once but I don't think we'd go back anyway, and how well we were treated while spending $400 in the store just didn't sit well with me.
Blaine ( — Google review
It was OK. The kids enjoyed it. Way to expensive though. Paid almost $200 for 4 kids and two adults. You don't have to do the activities like the mineral mining and the bone dig but once you get in there and the kids see the activities, because it's all open and the kids can see all the fun things to do, then they beg and beg and beg to do it all and you're out a bunch of money. Interesting stuff but for the price and the info I'd rather just go to the museum for half the price and all the info.
Sarah B — Google review
What an excellent little gift shop, so many artifacts and gifts. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Lots of gifts for the kids. Best of all, ice cream! A great stop when visiting the largest Dinosaur in the world.

Seen the signs when they were building the place, finally got a chance to stop in! Very cool. Well done on the animation of the T-Rex, my daughter was 2.5 took her a while to walk up anywhere near it! If you stand and stair into its eyes it's eerily haunting!! Their geode collections is phenomenal, I heard either the employee or owner talking about having to travel to Madagascar for certain rocks. I'm not a rock person but that's dedication! They did a wonderful job and it shows they love their establishment.
Trent M — Google review
Lots of room, handicap access, elevators and lots of places to sit and rest between exhibits which are breath taking. Our second time here, I'm 68n my wife 66 and this is our grandson second time here as well he is 11 and he loves it. The outdoor trails are easy and have different trail walks to suit your ability. A must see!!!! Place
Chester W — Google review
This place was good for a one - time visit (we won't likely return). The family admission rate is reasonable. They have some beautiful fossils from around the world (not so local, but Morocco and China, for example). There is a play structure inside, so kids can play while adults look around. There are moving and roaring dinosaur sculptures, which were cool. The $16pp indoor fossil dig was better suited for kids 3-5, not our 12 and 15 year olds - the fossil selection (the prize) from the dig was pretty picked over, but it was fun to dig. The security wiring in the display cases was ugly, and wires crossed in front of objects in places (could have been done with more care).
