Restaurant
Bismarkcito is a bustling restaurant located on the La Paz malecon, offering a lively seaside terrace. The restaurant features a high thatched roof and an array of tables overlooking the sea. Known for its fresh seafood, Bismarkcito offers two menus - one dedicated to fish tacos including their renowned smoked marlin, and another with a wide selection of grilled surf and turf dishes.
We spent two weeks in La Paz trying all the restaurants along the Malecón only to come back again and again to the Bismark. We highly recommend our waiters, Kevin and Jose Louis, they welcomed us warmly, helped us with our Spanish, remembered our drink preferences and always provided great service with lots of smiles. Go early on Sundays, it’s the only day they serve paella mariscos ($250), it’s a huge portion you might want to share and it’s amazing! Their seafood dishes are the best, their prices are reasonable and they provided the quickest and friendliest service on the Malecón.

Ramon took care of us with utmost care! He ensured there that our orders were perfect and that we had a great dining experience. The chef did a great job preparing our food. It was delicious! We also had front row seats to the most amazing views on the bay. We’ll be back!
Michele A — Google review
Portion sizes are huge (big enough for 1 plate to be shared for 2 people), food is very delicious though! The grilled octopus was amazing, it came with such a flavour burst rice and good vegetables. Fish ceviche had no juice and was similar to a tuna salad. Had a beautiful view of the sunset!!
Claudia A — Google review
We were greeted by Rodney our bartender who made us perfect drinks and made us feel welcomed. We only had drinks but will come back later for food. Fresh squeezed fruit for cocktails. We came back for dinner, our server was great but most of our food was just average, a real disappointment. They also ran out of wine by the class, red and white?
Steve M — Google review
This spot is, without a doubt, my favorite place to relax on the Malecón of La Paz. It’s more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The food is incredible, the cerveza is ice-cold, and the staff works together like a well-oiled machine, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The Tacos Camerone (shrimp tacos) are a must-try, especially with a stop at the side bar to pile on your favorite toppings. But the true showstopper? The Ostionas a La Leña—fire-roasted oysters that are simply unforgettable. They take time to roast to perfection, but that just gives you an excuse to sit back, sip your drink, and soak in the breathtaking view of the Sea of Cortez. If you’re in La Paz, don’t just visit—linger, savor, and let the moment become a memory.
Dawn K — Google review
I love the restaurant’s setting. Very relaxing with the beautiful ocean spread in front of us. I love that their salsa bar included a lot more than other places we went to. Unfortunately the lobster taco was very tough and I couldn’t eat
Miki — Google review
This restaurant was amazing. It offers several different types of food options. The food and drinks were great. The views and atmosphere make this place a great experience. Will visit again when in La Paz.
Edsel S — Google review
This restaurant is a fantastic spot with an unbeatable location, always buzzing with people. The food is solid, and their empanadas—only available at lunch—are a must-try! The service can be slow, but it’s always friendly, which makes the wait more bearable. Be prepared for a crowd, as it’s a popular choice, but the lively atmosphere is part of the charm. Great for a lunch stop if you’re in the area!

Playa El Coromuel is a vibrant beach destination located near La Paz, easily accessible by cycling. The beach offers facilities such as restrooms, restaurants, and rentals. Families can enjoy the aquatic water park with two giant waterslides that propel you into the warm sea. This stunning beach is known for its golden sand and clear blue waters, perfect for activities like snorkeling, swimming, kayaking, and fishing. It also provides breathtaking views of the local mountains.
Lovely family friendly beach. Updated facilities, including the newly renovated bathrooms. Food and drinks available, also palapa’s, tables and chairs One thing to beware of is the stingrays, but as long as you shuffle your feet you should be ok. I’ve only personally known two people stung in 6 years
Susan T — Google review
Away from the downtown hustle and bustle. Public beach with free palapas and various food shops near by that career to the beach customers. You can feel free to go up and get your own or for a few shekels more, you can have them bring it to you on the beach. Nice calm water and beautiful long pier suitable for photo shoots. If you can't get one of the free palapas you can rent an umbrella table and chairs. If you're there to eat and drink the table chairs and umbrella are complimentary with your purchase. The water was calm clean and cool on the day we went with a light breeze in about 80°F. We had beers and fruit while we enjoyed the views and the sand. The people were kind, the service was great, the prices were very reasonable. The beach was very clean with people enjoying music and not a ton of loud obnoxious young adults and smokers.
Xbox U — Google review
It's an excellent choice if you're looking for a convenient, family-friendly beach close to the city. The beach is well-maintained and has all the essentials you need for a comfortable day by the water. One of the biggest perks is its accessibility. It's a quick and easy drive from downtown La Paz, and there's plenty of parking available. You don't have to worry about a long journey to find a great spot. The water is typically calm and shallow, which makes it perfect for kids to swim and play in. There are also palapas and lounge chairs you can rent, so you're not stuck laying a towel directly on the sand. The on-site restaurant and food stalls are a huge plus, offering a decent variety of food and drinks. The bathrooms are also clean and well-kept. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that it can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends and holidays. The atmosphere is more "busy public beach" than "tranquil escape." If you're looking for a quiet, secluded spot, this might not be it. However, if you're traveling with family or want a beach with amenities and a lively vibe, it's a fantastic option. It's a great place to spend a fun, hassle-free day soaking up the sun and enjoying the Sea of Cortez.
Iliana P — Google review
Solid beach on the edge of town that somehow works for both family vibes and cracking beers with the bros. Plenty of free palapas to claim, or you can spring for an umbrella setup with chairs and a table. Food is available too—take the short walk up to the restaurants or kick back and let table-side service come to you. The only buzzkill? Shards of broken glass in the sand. I didn’t hit anything sharp, but bottles on the beach are a trash move—stick to cans. If people showed this place a little more respect, it’d easily be a 5-star recommendation. As it stands, the vibe is there, the setup is there, but the glass is a safety hazard.
Lucas S — Google review
Nice beach close to town. There’s public restrooms and a small seafood restaurant. There’s a scenic overlook where you can get great ocean views.
Karla S — Google review
Went on a Saturday. It wasn’t terribly busy. You rent tables, chairs, umbrellas. There’s food and drink service. The ceviche was good. There are food stands up top but did not have cold coco. There’s a ramp for individuals not able to do stairs.
Melis T — Google review
Close to town so easy to get transportation. Snorkeling and water sports + beach service for eateries.

The water is crystal clear with schools of fish swimming around. Very nice.

Italian restaurant
Sorstis Restaurante in La Paz is a top choice for those craving Mediterranean cuisine. The menu features fresh vegetables, charcuterie, pasta, seafood, and stone oven pizzas paired with an impressive wine selection. The restaurant's charming ambiance creates a romantic and relaxing dining experience, complemented by live music performances on weekends. Housed in a white building reminiscent of an Italian villa with an open-air courtyard, Sorstis is renowned for its Mediterranean menu and Mexican wine selection.
Very nice restaurant, we celebrate our anniversary dinner there, our waiter was verynice
Mirella S — Google review
We were excited to try Sorstis from the web, and photos. Unfortunately disappointing. Cocktails were good, but when food came out , the flys were so bad you had to shouu, them away to take a bite. Seafood linguine overcooked, not linguine, but spaghetti. Half way through the meal waiter finally brought out a can to burn rosemary and lime to help keep them away. 😩. Bathrooms filed with flys , they should put several in there, and clean them. Not likely to go back!
Rob D — Google review
Great selection in a nice environment. I have been here a couple of times and this place does not disappoint, I highly recommend the por ribs and the fruti di mare pasta, salads are great too.
Derick F — Google review
We shared the fish carpaccio to start, they give you an assortment basket of fresh pastry breads. We had the duck and duo parmigiana for the entrees. The food was incredible, the service was attentive, and the atmosphere was top knotch. We came early during sunset and it was beautiful. However, wear bug spray for the mosquitoes!
Jess — Google review
This has to be the best restaurant in La Paz. If it's not, it's definitely up there on the podium. Our family was seated after a short 3-5 minutes wait. The waiter made his introduction and started off with water. Provided a quick rundown of the specials as well as offering his recommendations. Gave us plenty of time to decide. Foods came out looking great and the taste was excellent. We enjoyed every dishes that were brought out. Between the fresh squeezed orange juice and mixed alcoholic drinks, it was a very enjoyable night. Definitely an elevated dining experience that we did not think existed in La Paz. Summary: The combinations of a great setting, with excellent services and foods, at a very manageable price make this a must place to visit!
J T — Google review
It was the second time I have eaten there. I will not be back. The first time, a year ago was fine. This time I was joined by a friend. Both of us have had careers in hotels and restaurants in the US, Switzerland and Italy. The service was manipulative and obnoxious, the food just OK and the prices much higher than justified by the quality provided. These things that stuck out: The waiter made stupid gestures and expressions that may have meant to be charming in a petulant sort of way, but came off as disrespectful. The wine list was over-priced. And they were out of many things. After they said they did not have the first two wines I selected, they insisted I follow another staff member to the wine room, located in a small private dining room, which was occupied by diners at the time. I was forced to squeeze behind their chairs while they ate to get to the wine room door that could barely open due to the tight quarters, where I was presented with the most expensive of their wines, most costing 3x - 4x more than the ones I had tried to order sitting comfortably at our table. No price list was provided and so I was expected/encouraged to select blindly while my friend sat alone. When it was time to pay I used a card and in Mexico you are given the option to manually select a gratuity percentage from the handheld device. I noticed that the obnoxious waiter had scrolled down to the bottom of the screen so the options for 5% or 10% were no longer visible, only the option for 15% or more. There is no excuse for greedy and contemptuous service like this. Avoid this place.
Charles J — Google review
OMG everything we had was AMAZING 👏 Our server Lorenzo? was super nice, even though it was close to closing time. Prices were also great for the quality they put out. Family of 6 went out and EVERYTHING was amazing. Maybe the arrugula raspberry salad was a little too sweet/ had too much dressing for me, but aside from that everything was 🔥 (couldn't figure out how to post a picture here)

Food was good and the ambience was great. Highly recommend this place, but come hungry because the portions are big.

Families often gather here to watch the sunset, while children can enjoy playing among the impressive sea-themed bronze sculptures that adorn the boardwalk. Mexican restaurant
Located in the heart of the La Paz boardwalk, Hambrusia is a gastrobar known for its craft beers, cocktails, and creative Mexican-Asian fusion cuisine by chef Eduardo Pino. The term "Hambrusia" refers to a special kind of hunger that goes beyond mere sustenance. The restaurant offers a variety of tacos with unique flavor combinations categorized by protein type. Guests can enjoy exquisite Mexican small plates with an Asian twist, complemented by craft beer and handcrafted cocktails.
Excellent service and wonderful selection of Mexican fusion dishes, craft cocktails, and beers. I went twice because I loved it so much. Would have gone thrice except they were closed for the holiday. The mezcal-based Margarita Ancestral was refreshing after a long, hot day in the sun - and it’s part of their happy hour offerings from 6-8pm. Food was tasty and made with quality ingredients. Outside seating for sunset is a must.
Mitch W — Google review
Modern take on traditional tacos and tostada. Super service and good drinks. We were a fairly large group and no one left disappointed.
Diane Y — Google review
I don't know if it was an off night or business as usual, but the experience was disappointing. The food took a long time, despite the place being empty. Service wasn't great (e.g., never asked how we wanted the burgers cooked, didn't check in after the food came, didnt ask if we wanted another drink). The place was empty although the Malecon was bustling. The food was only okay, my burger was more bun than burger. Overall just underwhelming, especially for the price.
Jamaal M — Google review
Came here on a food tour. Loved it so much we came back the next day. Food was GREAT both times. Their Betabel taco and French fries are AMAZING! We did wait a long time for our meals today, but there was a large group of people before us, so it was ok. Everyone was very friendly.

Food was acceptable. The Inside is plain and simple. The jaimaca kamboocha was delicious. I’ll not return.

very solid dinner spot! the food was tasty especially the quesabirria and chicken sandwich. The prices were not too high. I definitely recommend.
Sophia D — Google review
La Ambrusia in La Paz, BCS, offers an exceptional dining experience that blends creativity with traditional flavors. From the moment you step in, the restaurant impresses with its cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, making the dining experience seamless. We started our culinary journey with the Taco Tripulpo, a delightful surprise of octopus with tripitas. The unexpected combination delivered a burst of flavors that was both unique and satisfying. The presentation was impeccable, and the taste was simply excellent. Next, we indulged in Mei Mei, featuring pork belly topped with a tantalizing mix of Teriyaki sauce, served on a delicate flower tortilla. This dish offered a fusion of flavors that delighted the palate, showcasing the chef's skill in blending different tastes into a harmonious dish. For the main course, we savored their signature burger and fries. The meat was incredibly flavorful, complemented perfectly by the pesto and meticulously cut French fries that were crispy and delicious. Each bite was a testament to the chef's dedication to quality and taste. Overall, La Ambrusia deserves a perfect score of 10 out of 10. The restaurant not only delivers on taste but also on presentation and ambiance. It's a place where every dish tells a story of creativity and passion for food. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore unique flavors in a welcoming environment.
Gilberto P — Google review
This restaurant has good vegetarian options. After reading the reviews we thought we would give this place a shot. We ordered beef tacos nachos burgers beet tacos tuna tostada and fried shrimp happy. The burgers were fantastic however the fries were over done and super thin. The beef tacos were not served hot and were Luke warm by the time they got to the table. Nachos had good flavor however the chicken on them was cubed and obviously reheated and hard. The tuna tostada things were okay....the best tacos were great. Service was wonderful. Great atmosphere.

La Paz Whale Shark VIP Tours offers a unique and personalized experience for travelers seeking an intimate encounter with whale sharks. The tour, which lasts 2-3 hours, departs from Marina La Paz and takes participants by boat to the area where the gentle giants swim. Participants have praised the knowledgeable guides and the opportunity to dive multiple times with the whale sharks. While some may experience seasickness during the journey, many consider it a small price to pay for such an unforgettable adventure.
Prior to our outing, the communication with this company was prompt, thorough, & clear. Very impressed with their customer service. We had such a great day with these guys today! Katrin was so knowledgeable, passionate, & hospitable. She worked hard to make sure we were comfortable, happy, & safe at all times. Cory was a master boat captain, maneuvering through narrow openings in rocks & always spotting interesting wildlife. We felt so thankful to be in a smaller group, unlike some of the groups that had a dozen or more guests (we had 6). The lunch was so fresh & delicious. We’ve been on a few tour recently & the food on this tour was significantly better than that we had on other tours. Besides seeing the gorgeous islands & the cute sea lions, we saw lots of dolphins, two types of whales, sea turtles, & more! Even my teens were happy with this fun day on the sea! Thank you, Katrin & Cory.

Second time with VIP Tours and they never disappoint. Took the GF for her birthday as swimming with the Whale Sharks was on her bucket list. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Angel our guide and Fernando our captain were both fantastic from start to finish, truly a VIP experience and they live up to the name in every facet. We did the Sea of Cortez Wonders Tour which included the Whale Sharks, Sea Lion Colony near a coral reef & lunch at Balandra Beach. We started out looking for Whale Sharks and once into the regualted area we quickly found one but unfortunately it started to dive as we were about to to jump in. Angel quickly diverted and recommended we find another as to not waste time. After about five minutes we found another and well worth it, roughly a 20 foot majestic creature we were able to swim right along next to and get multiple jumps in with. The family of 4 with us on the tour had 2 children and only ended up jumping once or twice each so we were able to get 4 jumps in fairly quickly and Angel was great at getting the GF up close with the Whale Sharks while getting excellent pictures and videos. The next stop on the tour was the Sea Lion colony which was nice but they were all sleeping, one did swim right under us as we were approaching but the best part of that stop was the coral reef and all the gorgeous fish. Lastly they prepared lunch for us on our own private spot on Balandra Beach which is absolutely stunning. Pictures truly don't do it justice. Could not have asked for a better experience. Please don't waste your time with other companies as VIP truly is the best and know what they're doing. Will be back with them in November to bring Sis along as it's on her bucket list as well. Thanks everyone at VIP for making this such a memorable experience! Until next time...

Going on a trip with VIP Tours in La Paz is absolutely fantastic, we've been on on the tour with them 3 times already and looking forward to come back. They really know how to make our trips special. This trip we did Whale Sharks tour and Island of Espiritu Santo tour. Swimming alongside gentle giants – the magnificent whale sharks is such a treat. Being so close to the shark is breathtaking experience and tour guides make sure each guest spends plenty of time with shark and get a really good look at them. The experience was followed by the lunch at a stunning beach, best ceviche I've ever had! Second tour of this trip, we went to Espiritu Santo island, a jewel of the Sea of Cortez. VIP Tours orchestrated a perfect day, filled with snorkeling adventures where we encountered vibrant marine life in their natural habitat. The highlight was swimming with playful sea lions, whose curiosity and agility amused us all. On our way to the Island we even saw a humpback whale, very nice unexpected surprize! As repeat customers, our expectations were high, yet once again, VIP Tours exceeded them and provided a magical journey. Each excursion with them is a testament to their genuine desire to create memories that last a lifetime! Very happy with our tour guides Angel and Katrin, and booking manager Katya - it was very efficient and professional communication, fast replies and she made sure our experience was seamless!

What an amazing experience!! Everything was incredible! Katya was great keeping us informed up until the day of (we almost couldn't go because of the season being closed) but it opened right in time! Angel our guide was amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable, he did an excellent job answering questions and explaining everything to us. I had 3 chances to swim with the whale sharks because we had a small group! He did a great job keeping us AND the whale sharks safe. Our captain was also amazing, keeping the be boat close, but a safe distance. I honestly can't say enough good things! And... The photos and videos after are priceless!!! Quite literally the best experience ever.
Jessica R — Google review
Everything was perfect, warm welcome in Marina La Paz, and off we go, the boat was comfortable and had a toilet! full shade and cushioned seats, only 5 passengers, the boar ride was a bit more than an hour but very scenic and many oportunities to take pictures of birds and cliffs. The equipment provided was in mint condition, clean and good quality. Our guide was very knowledgeable and attentive, she speak 4 languages! Snorkeling with the baby sea lions was amazing, the water was warm and clear, we had lunch in a beautiful beach with white sand, with shade and chairs, the best burritos I ever had and fresh ceviche. We snorkeled again over a shipwreck and stop to enjoy the views of Balandra beach, it was without a doubt the best day of our holidays. Everything was so well planned and organized, there is a reason this company is number 1 in TripAdvisor. Thank you again Katrin, Angel, Katya, Anna and captain Fabio, we also received the pictures and videos next day! so if you dont have a camera dont worry, they take care of everything, you can always find low cost companies, but his was first class! We will come back for the whale shark season!
Ilaria M — Google review
What a wonderful time! Made lemonade out of lemons. Whale sharks haven’t shown up yet but Katrin took us out to swim with sea lions, snorkel, and have a delicious ceviche lunch at Balandra beach. She is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable that it made this tour one of the top ones I’ve ever been on. Will come back when the whale sharks show up! Adding to this review. Went again a month later two times and swam with the whale sharks twice and sea lions once more. It was fantastic and hope to make this a yearly trip! One more edit-went again two years later in 2024. Whale sharks with Katrin and sea lions 2 days later with Maritza at Espíritu Santo. Both trips were excellent. My first time to Espiritu and I loved it. This is a fantastic company. (Last 2 photos are from this trip)
Meredith K — Google review
We were a small group of 6 and did both the whale sharks snorkelling and the All Islands tour (Combo tour). Anna is extremely warm, fun, knowledgable, and made us feel at ease. The tour company really thought of everything and made it all readily available from wetsuit gear to snacks to sanitizing products to even taking pictures and videos of our experience for free so we could just enjoy the tour!!! Swimming with the whale sharks was absolutely unforgettable, we swam with one that was over 27 feet long and was feeding so stayed in one place for all of us to spend lots of time with it. Swimming with sea lions and so many beautiful fish (parrot fish, blue hippo tang, starfish, etc.) and checking out the coral reefs was magical. The lunch on the beach was DELICIOUS, and the setting felt like paradise. Thank you VIP tours for one of the best days of my life!!!
Samantha S — Google review
Such a great experience with Angel! I love how regulated it is and protected the whale sharks are. I’m glad I went with VIP because of the small group size - it’s worth the extra price compared to other companies because you get more time one on one time with the sharks. The photos and videos they took turned out great, too!

Church
Parroquia Espíritu Santo, also known as the Iglesia Reestructurado Del Espiritu Santo, is a church located in La Paz, Baja California Peninsula. The area offers stunning views of Playa Tecolote and the famous Espiritu Santo Island, a popular day trip destination and World Heritage Site. Visitors describe the church as a peaceful place to encounter God, with kind and helpful clergy.
The name Google uses for the Iglesia Reestructurado Del Espíritu Santo is apparently Parróquia of the Holy Spirit. I get a feeling in these cases that I'm thinking of one place but reviewing another. I was walking about La Paz this afternoon in the stifling hotness when I came upon this church. I thought it was interesting, and apart from that, I can't understand why it is in this city that so many places are named for the holy spirit.

Mexican restaurant
Claros Fish Jr. is a popular seafood spot located just off the malecon, offering a diverse menu of seafood tacos, tostadas, and plates. The restaurant features a large topping bar for customizing meals. It's known for its bilingual staff and attracts both locals and tourists. While it's considered somewhat touristy, the food is still delicious. The restaurant is part of a chain with locations in other cities as well.
Excellent food. Good service and nice location. You can see the ocean from the terrace. The menu is quite large with a lot of choice. The seafood is fresh and super tasty. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the good service. After the meal you only walk 3 minutes into heart of the town and onto Malecon

We visited for an early dinner after a long day traveling from the east coast of the US. Location is great, the restaurant has a non assuming character with affordable pricing. Seating was easily available. We started with margaritas- they were really nice and a big size without much added sugar or any weird orange flavors you sometimes get in the US. The lime flavor was perfect. The menu had many options but we chose using our local friend. I chose a taco paceño shrimp that locals favor. My wife had grilled octopus and grilled shrimp tacos. My empanadas were great. We also tried the onion rings but were a bit disappointed with the amount of oil… a large dish with too much oil can lead to discomfort later ;) The salsa bar had his selections for topping off the tacos. I heard that sometimes they have onion rings at that bar and maybe tasting one or two is enough. The main dishes were great, pricing was even better!! I highly recommend. 👍 if you find this useful

Really awesome place for affordable tacos right by the water. Order anything and you can access the free flow salad/garnish bar. The ceviche was fresh and fried seafood was done well.

This place has very good taco to choose from. I love their crispy fish and their octopus taco. The ceviche was very fresh and comes with large portion. They have a condiment bar in the middle restaurant for you to add any siding for your taco. Overall a great place to eat some cheap tocos.

Wow! We absolutely loved this place. They have so many different options for seafood tacos. We tried the scallop, crispy fish, and crispy shrimp as well as a shrimp empanada with cheese. It did not disappoint! Huge pieces of shrimp, freshest scallops I’ve had. The empanada was ridiculous almost the size of my forearm. The condiment bar was beautiful, so many different salsas, and veggies to make the tacos even better. We enjoyed it so much we ended up eating here twice. La Paz has been an amazing foodie trip we were not let down once which is quite rare.

We had an absolutely fantastic lunch at Claros Fish Jr. today! The food was truly delicious – we especially enjoyed the seafood dish baked in foil (the one with the octopus, shrimp, and fish was incredible!). Every bite was fresh and flavorful. But beyond the amazing food, the service truly stood out. Our server was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful dining experience. It's clear they take pride in their food and their customers. We highly recommend Claros Fish Jr. if you're in La Paz and looking for a superb seafood meal with top-notch service!
Iliana P — Google review
The food, ambience, and drinks are good. Nothing over the top or extraordinary. They did have a salsa, toppings, and condiments bar. It was very good, but I have concerns for food safety. It wasn't very busy, but it might be a problem if the restaurant gets crowded. I would recommend that they have extra fans because it gets very hot in July. The servers were helpful, again, nothing extraordinary. The restrooms do need some upgrades. The restaurant does not have parking, but there is street parking available, sometimes. . If I were in La Paz again, I would choose another restaurant for a better view. Prices were comparable to other restaurants in the vicinity.

La Paz is a jewel on the shoreline of the Sea of Cortez. Magnificent. It's a family oriented tourist destination. The place is stunningly beautiful and the local people are friendly kind and helpful. Many are bilingual and have learned English on the job. I tried speaking as much Spanish as possible, but their English is better than my Spanish. Amazing experience for my twin teenage daughters.

We visited Kiosco del Malecón while in port on our Carnival cruise. The food was good and safe, and the staff were honest with pricing, which we really appreciated. The place felt comfortable and not intimidating at all for tourists. That said, we were a bit underwhelmed by the flavor... for being in Mexico, we expected a bit more boldness in the taste. We're from California, so maybe we’re just spoiled with amazing Mexican food back home. Overall, it was a decent experience, just not super memorable. 05/15/2025

Great beach club, lovely sunset views and their staff is very friendly and accommodating. Bring water shoes of some kind, the water is beautiful but the sand has stones and shells that could hurt your feet.

Come for the views and beach! Absolutely breathtaking, but the lack of service from the restaurant is brutal. 2 great staff members and the rest made me feel like a huge inconvenience, maybe because my Spanish isn't the best. I also don't drink alcohol so maybe that was the reason servers didn't come by much. I definitely didn't feel welcomed and ignored 80% of the time, having to clear my own dishes, find my own silverware and napkins. Very frustrating when I need to cut up my little son when I cut food and have to go get my own stuff. This was daily! Music was so loud I couldn't hear much of anything else. Asked many time to turn it down just a bit but with in a short time it would go back up. The hotel staff was much better. Not perfect but good enough that I would come back for them and the beach. But unfortunately you need a decent restaurant but this is not it, shame because I loved the beach here but the service is a 1 unfortunately
Franny L — Google review
The Pros The hotel is affordable and beachfront. One of the few to have a swimable beach away from the marina and boat traffic. The staff, especially those in the outdoor bar/restaurant area, are very friendly and helpful. Food portions are big, and the drinks are well crafted. Late checkout (12pm) is a plus, and the A/C unit in the room is impeccable. The Cons This hotel needs a major overhaul everywhere you look. Room entry systems are inconsistent, with some having newer electronic entry while others (like mine) had a tricky physical key. Once inside, you'll find dated furniture like beds and chests (ours had a broken drawer). Our room had spotty wifi spottier cable tv, and it also lacked an iron + ironing board which we had to borrow from the front office. Daily upkeep is a bit of an issue as well. While they do seem to "clean" every room, it seems like they either rush through the job or aren't very thorough. If all you need is an affordable place to sleep and don't mind outdated amenities, check this place out. If you plan on spending long periods of time in the room and want something a little more modern, perhaps look elsewhere.

Went there for the beach club, had to go up to 4 different workers asking to buy a day pass for the beach club. They would just redirect me to another person that wouldn’t say anything. Gave up and sat down at the bar, sat there for 30 mins no one came up to us to take our order, ended up just leaving. Terrible service.

Hyatt Place La Paz is a modern hotel located in the upscale Costabaja Marina development, just 10 minutes from the city center. Situated adjacent to the marina, beach club, luxury residences, and a golf course, this chic locale offers contemporary rooms with free Wi-Fi and an outdoor pool. Guests can also enjoy a 24/7 gym, restaurant, and bar on-site. The hotel's perfect location provides a quiet atmosphere with easy access to the beach and town.
Our stay was super, staff were very friendly and VIEW was GORGEOUS. Because of the perfect location of the hotel, even on a windy day, it was hot by the pool with only a minor breeze. My partners phone fell in the pool and staff were helpful in providing us some rice to put the phone on. Location was great because it was quiet, a short walk to the beach across from the marina, or a quick drive into town. Breakfast in the morning was also delicious- a full buffet, warm and fresh. Hotel was clean, large foyer with plenty of seating, and tastefully decorated for Christmas It was the exact stay we needed.

We stayed here in March and had a wonderful time. The rooms were nice and beds comfortable. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. Bar service was good too. The location is a little off the beaten path, which was nice, near one of the marinas with nice restaurants a short walk away. Excellent service.

This hotel is a great place. Super clean, rooms a nice size and the staff is kind and helpful. A super vibe thanks to a staff group who enjoy each other and their guests. An added bonus is a fun mix of visitors from families, to bird watchers to divers. Best place to stay in La Paz.
Howard C — Google review
Service, cleanliness, location are not even close to 3-star hotel standards. Personal cannot give clear information to customers, unless your Spanish is perfect. ATM in the lobby won't tell you about the 116% fees until you get your cash. Breakfast buffet is also disappointing. When we tried to take a shower, water came out brown with a smell and the bathtub was clogged. We paid $225 for the worst hotel I've ever had the chance to experience. Run away from the Courtyard Marriott that is, by the way, its new name.
Benoit G — Google review
During my recent visit to La Paz for a weekend trip to Balandra beach, I chose to stay at the Hyatt hotel, as I have been consistently satisfied with their standards of cleanliness and hospitality in the past. Unfortunately, my expectations were far from met during this particular stay. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to find my room was not as pristine as I have come to expect from Hyatt properties. The room had an unpleasant odor, appeared unkempt, and shockingly, there was mold visible in the shower. The hotel is advertised as a 4-star property, but in light of my recent experience, it felt more akin to a 3-star establishment. The disappointment extended to the breakfast offerings as well, which failed to meet the usual high standards of Hyatt. I was so displeased with the quality of the breakfast that I chose not to eat there. I am leaving this review to provide an honest account of my experience, and to set realistic expectations for future guests considering this property. Despite being a loyal patron of the Hyatt brand, I was let down by the inadequate standards during this stay. I truly hope Hyatt will take this feedback into consideration and make the necessary improvements, as it's always been my preferred choice for accommodations during my travels.
Ivan B — Google review
Nice hotel on the south edge of town overlooking the marina, but also very close to industrial activity, as are all the amenities in this area of the city. They aren't readily noticeable or noisy, but could be a concern to some. Staff is very friendly, food is good, there's a relatively large workout room, and the rooms are comfortable.

The place is great and great location. The only complaint I have is that the have “Starbucks” at site and its a joke……I ordered a Venti Capuchino non Fat…..no Venti, just 12 oz…..ok….no non Fat milk, only lactose free….ok….after they served it was cold and no froth…..HORRIBLE…it’s the first Starbucks I return my life….incredible….refused to pay….the lady said its what they serve….disappointing…

Fantastic hotel, and great value. We really appreciated the friendliness, and all the valuable information they gave us about the area. The rooms, and facilities were very clean and modern. The Museo de la Ballena y Ciencias del Mar in La Paz showcases a diverse array of exhibits and scientific collections focused on whales, dolphins, and porpoises. The museum pays tribute to the region's beloved gray whales, known as the Friendlies for their apparent enjoyment of human interaction. Visitors can witness these magnificent creatures in lagoons near La Paz between mid-January and mid-April before they embark on their annual migration to Alaska.
Echoing previous reviewers, this museum is a true gem!!! It's filled with incredible artifacts of all kinds, and the staff are so kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The guided tour is 110% worth it -- you'll learn more than you ever thought to ask about, and hear some fun stories and interesting facts along the way. We visited with a toddler and a baby, and loved getting to spend our morning here.

Loved the tour and the guide was very informative. The entire space isn't big and can be seen and appreciate within an hour, but the amount of fossils and displays available are great. Especially if tickets are only $100 pesos for the guided tour. My daughter loves the hanging skeletons and the sea turtle display

We had a great experience at the Museo de la Ballena y Ciencias del Mar! My son absolutely loves whales, so this visit was perfect for us. The museum may be small and cozy, but it’s packed with fascinating information about orcas, different types of whales, and other sea life. The exhibits are educational and engaging, and we definitely walked away having learned a lot more about marine ecosystems and conservation. It’s not a flashy, ultra high-tech museum, so don’t expect too much in terms of size or amenities, but it’s a charming space that truly focuses on sharing knowledge about these magnificent creatures. For anyone who loves marine life or wants a deeper appreciation for the oceans, this museum is worth the visit. It’s a great stop in La Paz for families or curious minds. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed our stay. The service was excellent and the staff made sure we always had help with translating Spanish for us where needed. No pushiness on drinks at pool. Staff all professional and courteous. Breakfast and dinner excellent. Views from hotel of sunset were great. Know drinks and dinner are to be paid for at time not chargeable to room. The room had wonderful view, very spacious. Somewhat dated yes but clean. If looking for modern hotel this is not it. A charming, authentic, local vibe. We would happily stay here again.

The staff are extremely friendly. Andrea the receptionist was always happy to help with any of my inquiries. The room was spacious and clean. The TV had several channels. Bathroom and shower were very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The view from the balcony was exceptional. The pool was clean and had several chairs/beds. We basically had the pool to ourselves for a handful of days. Downtown is 5 min away via taxi/uber. Only issues I had were: the walls are thin. I could hear chairs moving, showers turning on, people chatting/walking (I’m a light sleeper). The jetted tub in my room did not have hot water. It came out lukewarm at most. Would stay here again. Great prices!

An older hotel which has been nicely updated. It looks like all rooms are facing the beautiful ocean view and lovely pool area. Staff are very kind and eager to serve while struggling with our gringo language. Hotel food is exceptional, but restaurant seems sadly underutilized as patrons prefer to go downtown to party. Free breakfast but it appears you pay coffee in your room.
Guy L — Google review
We bought a day pass for 500 pesos per person to enjoy the pool and the experience was… meh. After buying the pass, we found out towels were not included. We had to negotiate paying a 300 pesos deposit to get a towel (refunded on return of the towel). The menu did not include the light pool side snacks we hoped for, and did not have any vegetarian options. We did not see any free water available, only what was in the menu for purchase. The pool was very clean but also very shallow. So, if you buy the day pass be aware that you are not getting a lot for the price.

I stayed here for over a week and do not have anything negative to share. Everything, from the room to the hotel’s location, including the welcoming and nice service, made our trip more special that we could ever wish for. We will definitely be back!

Taco restaurant
Taco Fish La Paz, located along the vibrant Malecón, is not just your average taqueria; it’s a delightful sit-down restaurant that offers an inviting open-air patio and a full bar. Celebrating over 30 years of culinary excellence, this beloved establishment has become a staple for both locals and travelers alike. The menu is extensive, featuring mouthwatering options like perfectly fried sea bass tacos and crispy tostadas topped with fresh ceviche.
Delicious marlin and 🍤 shrimp tacos to be had here. The tortillas were soft and doubled up, and the seafood had great flavor without any additions. We missed the fish tacos since we arrived 30 minutes before they closed and because they ran out of fish 🐟! Don't miss going here because it constantly sells out because the tacos are excellent
Josh F — Google review
First off, the food is delicious! You garnish your own tacos - which can be intimidating if you don't know what to do. The food definitely does not skimp on the seafood. The pulpo quesadilla is quite impressive. The waiters can get sexy! Interesting side note: the offer high quality straw hats for sale here!
O H — Google review
Amazing place with great choice of seafood. We came for the tacos of course, which were good but unfortunately we received a lot of fried tacos but I think this was a misunderstanding. I just wish they had more non fried options. They have a bar for sides so you can add them to your tacos. The view is amazing!
Vanessa G — Google review
We ordered fish tacos and a pulpo taco. The tortillas were terrible. The corn tortilla reminds me of the gringo tortillas in the states like Mission or Guerrero. The fish was bland and not crispy! Soggy and not made to order. No limes either! It was pretty bad. The pulpo was also rubbery and tasted bad. The chile sauce was also gross. Worst food i had in La Paz. I make better tacos at home.

Very good tacos Ensenada style, friendly service and great view. I love the shrimp and the fish taco.

Right across from the ocean so you get good views, cool breezes and good food. Just as a FYI the tacos are bigger than the burritos. Both taste excellent. They have a huge salsa bar to fix up your tacos the way you want them. Service was good. I definitely recommend this place.

Cantamar Tours & Scuba / Baja Diving and Service offers an unforgettable scuba diving experience in La Paz. Despite being a small group, the tour provides comfort and affordability. The trip includes sightings of humpback whales on the way to Espiritu Island, encounters with sea lions during the first dive, exploration of a shipwreck during the second dive, and a delightful ceviche lunch on the beach. The professional staff ensures a safe and enjoyable adventure for all participants.
Had a wonderful boat trip that was such a highlight of our Baja trip. We loved swimming with the sea lions and our guide and captain were super enthusiastic and lovely people. Cerviche on the beach at Balandra was amazing, we were there and we had a whole little beach to ourselves. Super nice and chilled day.

October 25, 2025 We had the pleasure of meeting the dive instructor/master, Maurice for a discovery dive. Maurice was so patient and knowledgeable making me feel safe. I’m a veteran diver but had not dove in 20 years. I was feeling a little anxious but Maurice calmed my fears with helpful information. It was like riding a bike. The captain Gil was friendly and put our safety first by handing out life vests as soon as we climbed aboard the boat. The total experience was wonderful and a delicious lunch provided with cold drinks. I will be recommending this company to all my friends who like to dive and ir snorkel. They shared their knowledge about the area islands beaches flora and fauna that was interesting. Their customer service was excellent. Thank you. Lisa and Demeris Morse

We had an awesome experience with Cantamar Tours. They seemed professional and very courteous. The number of people on board was small and we were able to snorkel with multiple whale sharks. In fact, I tired out and came back to the boat after seeing many up close. I highly recommend this tour group! Paul from Dallas, Texas

We had a fantastic day with our amazing guide Valeria and our skipper Hillar around Espiritu Santo island and swimming with the Sea Lions. It was great to learn about the history and biodiversity from our guide who was also excellent with our 11 year old daughter showing her some snorkeling and diving skills aground the reefs. We felt very safe on the boat with good equipments and refreshments. Lunch at the beach was fresh and tasty. Probably the best day of our cruise and would highly recommend.

Golf course
Nestled on its own picturesque peninsula, Paraiso del Mar is a stunning resort and residential community that offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Accessible via a complimentary ferry from downtown La Paz, this tranquil haven boasts breathtaking views of both ocean and desert landscapes. The highlight for golf enthusiasts is undoubtedly the meticulously designed course by renowned architect Arthur Hills, featuring a challenging links-style layout that spans 7,039 yards with five sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.
Tough track! Gold tees play 6500 with multiple blind tee shots. It would be helpful to have a course map. On several tees, I drove up to the fairway to get a picture of the hole before teeing off. Lots of overgrowth around the gold tees. It appears they don't get as much play? I really liked the way the course blended with the terrain. Desert, rolling hills, wind and the sea. Beautiful views and challenging golf!

Ate lunch at par 4. The setting is beautiful. We had a party of seven and food came out at all different times so made for a long eating time and unable to eat together. We enjoyed the food.

The head guy at the golf course was extremely rude. The man that sits in the golf club house. Arrogant and not pleasant or helpful at all. He needs to be find a new job where he doesn’t have to deal with customers
Ben F — Google review
Excellent and challenging course. Get ready for some intimidating tee shots when playing from gold tees. Fairways were good; greens fast and in great shape.
Marko P — Google review
Challenging links style course with tricky sand traps. Lovely area and enjoyed the golf overall; however, it was overpriced for what you got. For resort prices one would expect better equipped carts, better maintained cart paths and fairways, and higher level services. Maybe 3 holes have the ocean views.
Elsie R — Google review
The course was really nice and the people who worked there were really helpful. They were able to squeeze us in same day even though they had an event.
Christine B — Google review
Called for a tee time and was not alerted that we needed to setup a QR code for entry. Got it setup and security guard at gate wanted to hold my ID until we left. Was treated like a felon trying to rob the place. Definitely would not recommend coming here if you value your time.
Duc N — Google review
Really liked the golf course. Several holes run along the water. The staff was very friendly and the food in the restaurant was very good. The layout is great with no two holes that look the same. The greens are some of the most undulating that I have ever played so don’t plan on making many putts. I think it is a very good value. If the course was in Cabo it would cost 3 times as much.

Ibarra's Pottery is a very famous and respected ceramics workshop in La Paz, which dates back to 1958. The pottery store is famously known for its high quality products, and the ladies who work there are some of the most talented and skilled potters in Mexico. It's a great place to enjoy great people and beautiful ceramics, and I can't wait to visit again!
I can not even say how very much I love the pottery of Ibarra’s. And Vicky and Julie are so kind and helpful and warm and welcoming. Every time we have a family or friend visit us, we bring them to Ibarra’s and their eyes light up with joy and excitement. I have purchased pieces already made and have special ordered items as well and so happy with every piece I bring home or have given as gifts!!! ❤️❤️❤️

The cutest shop with very nice people working there. Lovely hand made pottery, I bought a couple of beautiful white and blue salsa bowls and brought them home with me to Canada along with a bottle of their popular pure vanilla extract. Look up their shorter hours and plan a trip to Ibarra Pottery where they have beautiful hand made and painted traditional Mexican Pottery. You can get tiles, plates, platters, napkin holders, pots, all the things and it’s gorgeous and affordable. Because we were driving I could take three big planters for Christmas gifts, platters and bowls. It was a great shopping experience and reinforced my appreciation for Mexican artistry and indigenous craftspersonship.

The menu features fair prices and generous portions that will leave you satisfied.
Omg this food is amazing!! We had oysters the size of our heads! The snapper is huge. Everything is the bomb!! Highly recommend

Hole in the wall but great food. Ceviche was fresh/excellent. They give you chips & salsa, chips were super fresh as in they made them there. Seems popular with locals. Clean bathrooms. Fair prices (forgot to take a photo of the menu). They have mostly beer and hard liquor for drinks, they don’t make cocktail drinks. They take CC or cash (US/Pesos). There is an old resort next to the restaurant (we saw it up close when we walked to the restaurant from the shoreline by La Posada/Calle Nueva Reforma), the waitress said it closed 10 years ago, looks like it was once a massive resort (several stories high) with a large pool, now it’s falling apart/abandoned. The beach in front of the bar isn’t as nice as other beaches seems locals go to the beach in front of the bar to mostly fish. We have full reviews on our visit to La Paz including restaurants and beaches, so look at our profile.

We stopped here on the way back from an excursion. The cruise line purchased a bottled drink for everyone. You would think the workers or owners would be happy with that. TIM Rent a Bike offers affordable bike rentals for exploring the city, coast, and surrounding hills. With options for all ages and abilities, including mountain bike trails and organized biking tours, it's a great way to experience the area. The rental process is quick and easy, with a variety of well-maintained bikes available at fair prices. All you need is an ID or passport to get started on your biking adventure.
Great TREK bike with fat tires for a ride along the waterfront and into the marshes at the far end of town. Easy to book ahead, easy to book on the day of, reasonable prices, we rented by the hour but the 3 hour or daily rate were better deals - we just didn't need them that long. Great biking path along waterfront - worth the adventure - start early before its 1. hot 2. busy at the waterfront
Sheila V — Google review
Poorly maintained bikes, and none for someone 6" or taller. Staff were friendly, prices decent, however their cancellation policy absolutely sucks. Being a little overly ambitious, we rented the bikes for a week. Within minutes I had to exchange the first bike, it was simply unrideable. The second bike was not much better, and by the end of the day we decided to return the bikes. Brought them back early the next morning. I would have been more than happy to pay for the full 2nd day, or even a third, but the company was unwilling to refund ANY of the amount paid for a full week, despite the fact that the reason for the return was that the bikes are absolute crap. We were given a credit for future rentals... Which of course we will never use. Let's be clear, I wasn't expecting anything fancy from a bike rental in Mexico, as even high end bike rentals in other countries generally can't keep up with the bike maintenance, however, these two bikes bordered on unsafe, and definitely not worth the money. Add to that the lack of a refund, and I can't recommend this place to anyone.

What a bizarre experience! We stayed here two almost weeks, and I was ready to give a four star rating until checkout. Checkout time was 11am, and we were out of the rooms by then. We hung out in the lobby afterwards, and had food left in the fridge. We were going to have lunch and leave just after 12. Then at 12, they said we had to leave. At first they didn't even want to let us eat our leftover food (in their containers). Eventually they let us eat, but then they were super rude shouting "get out!" At one stage, one of the staff bizarrely blocked the gate and at that point I seriously considered calling the cops. I've never had such a shocking experience in years of travel.

Beaches
Playa Balandra is a stunning beach with a picturesque, white sandy shoreline and crystal clear waters. The beach is situated amidst low-lying hills which provide a breathtaking backdrop. The beach is well-maintained and easily accessible with ample parking available. Visitors can bring their furry friends along to enjoy the beach as well, although there may be some local dogs that bark incessantly. However, it's easy to avoid them by walking further down the beach.
Beautiful beach. Truly one of the best in the world. It's a shallow beach so you can't really swim. They limit the amount of people that can go in as well as limit on time. Get there before opening for each slot time. One is at 8am and the second is at 1pm so each wave of people are only allowed about 4 hours on the beach and they limit how many can enter. They sell snacks and rental umbrellas and chairs at the entrance before going in by vendors. All legit so it's safe. Bring your own snacks and drinks before going as they don't sell anything inside the beach. Overall it was a great experience, we enjoyed it. There is a simple hike up a small hill to get a nice view of the beaches from the top. Worth doing as well.

Totally worth the drive from Cabo for an excellent day trip to this beautiful beach. Goes knee deep for a long stretch, and although we were warned about stingrays, we didn’t see any. You do have to walk shuffling your feet to avoid stepping on one but its totally worth it. Great view from the top of the hike, definitely check it out

Beautiful beach It's a beautiful place in which you can pass some hours of nice views You can bring your own food/drinks. Avoid glass and please take the garbage with you. There is 2 possible access: at 8:00h and 12:00 The maximum stay is 4 hours. The have a limited access for every group. You need to stay in the line for ~40 minutes During the line some guys are selling drinks, food (ceviche) and it's good. Be prepared because inside there is no option to buy nothing. The beach is clean, after every group the staff clean the place. The water is cold after Aug/sep but it's still a must to do activity. Consider there is some sea wildlife (jellyfish, mantas, etc), step grounding your feet and cover your skin with large clothes (jellyfish can burn your skin, nothing to die but it's better to avoid it). portable toilet is on the place if needed Parking lot is free of charge and safe

We’ve traveled a lot, seen beaches all over the world but Playa Balandra is different. The first thing that hits you is the water impossibly clear, shifting between turquoise, teal, and soft jade as the light moves. It’s shallow for what feels like forever, so you can wade out and still see the ripples dancing around your feet. The whole place feels untouched, almost sacred. The hills cradle the bay in this perfect natural curve, and the calmness is something you feel as much as you see. No crowds, no noise just wind, salt, and that unreal blue stretching out to the horizon. THE PARK IS FREE DONT LET ANY VENDOR TELL YOU OTHERWISE 20 minutes from La Paz. We took a scooter 🛵

One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen. The water is so shallow you can see the bottom. There’s a short hike to the top of the hill where you can take the best photos. Make sure to wear the right footwear since the trail is a bit rocky. There’s lots of marine life I saw plenty of fish and an eel! Get there early to beat the crowds. Parking fills up fast get there before 9 AM.

One of my favorite beaches in La Paz !!! The water is crystal clear and you can walk almost a mile and the water never gets deeper then waist deep. They have a morning and afternoon time slot for visiting 3 to 4 hours so make sure yo u plan your trip accordingly bring a cooler and bury inexpensive and don't forget to rent umbrellas and chairs on your way in from the people that were great you there as you're driving into the park !!! Am I still if you're in the combo or La Paz area

Beautiful beach to visit near La Paz. We came in the August heat, when the water was very warm. Saw a puffer fish (?) and lots of little fish, but no manta rays. Also many impressive birds flying the thermals above. It’s amazing how many people arrive at the beach without supplies, creating a great business opportunity for the locals. As a protected beach they only allow a limited group in the morning, clear them out at noon, and another limited group in the afternoon, with closure at 5 pm.

WOW what a breathtaking beautiful beach. Definitely worth being on the Top 50 list and worth the drive from Cabo. This is a must beach to visit.

What an amazing experience our family will absolutely NEVER forget!! The crew was beyond amazing and the views were brilliant to say the least. I highly suggest everyone take the sunset cruise with Sunrider, it's and experience you never want to miss. The food was also spectacular, drinks were awesome and again totally top notch service!! Highly recommend!!

The Sunrider Tour in Cabo San Lucas was hands down one of the best experiences of our trip! The sunset was absolutely epic glowing skies over the ocean that felt straight out of a postcard. The crew kept the energy high from start to finish with great music, dancing, and a contagious vibe that had everyone on board joining in. The atmosphere was electric, and the crew was astronomical fun, friendly, and full of life. If you’re looking for a sunset cruise that turns into a full on party on the water, this is it. So much fun!

We had an amazing experience with Sun Rider! We did a sunset cruise, it was a great experience. The staff went above and beyond, the food and drinks were delicious!

I never write reviews but I really had to do it in this case because wooow, absolutely incredible experience with Sunrider in Cabo & La Paz! I can’t say enough amazing things about Sunrider! From start to finish, every single tour we did with them was flawless. We did the Sunset Dinner Cruise, and even Scuba Diving—and WOW! Each one was unforgettable. The staff is incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive, always making sure we were comfortable and having fun. The boats are spotless and very well maintained, the atmosphere is super welcoming, and everything is run smoothly. The Sunset Dinner Cruise was such a blast—the entertainment was lively and fun, the music was great, and the vibes were just perfect. The food was beyond delicious, and I highly recommend trying their lobster ;)—absolutely worth it! During our tour, we saw tons of whales, it was a truly magical experience. Snorkeling and scuba diving were also beyond expectations. The guides were so knowledgeable and made sure we felt safe every step of the way, and the marine life was breathtaking. Sunrider is hands down the best tour company I’ve ever experienced. I would recommend them to anyone visiting Cabo or La Paz, you’re guaranteed to have the time of your life.
Maria T — Google review
If you want to see Cabo from the water without feeling like you just boarded a spring break booze cruise, Sun Rider is the sweet spot. The crew runs a tight ship (literally), balancing safety, sightseeing, and just enough tequila to make you bold enough to sing along with the onboard music. The boats are clean, the staff has jokes sharper than a marlin’s bill, and the views—arches, sea lions, sunset—are the kind of thing that makes you consider “accidentally” missing your flight home. Bonus points for their buffet; it’s not Michelin-starred, but it sure beats the mystery hot dogs you’ll find on other boats. Overall: Sun Rider proves you don’t need to choose between fun and classy—you can actually have both while cruising past Land’s End.

10/10 this tour was AMAZING!!! Knowledgeable and helpful staff (Juan and Sal) I recommend this tour and company to everyone!!! We all were blown away at their professionalism, passion for conservation and care for our safety. This is a must do in La Paz. Just WOW!!!

Bay Trip and the Arch of Cabo San Lucas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Booking this tour through Viator was simple and stress-free, and the company was quick to respond to any questions I had. Our crew, Capi Jaime and José Saavedra, made the trip unforgettable. They were patient, funny, and shared both folklore and history about Cabo and the Arch that kept us entertained the whole way. The boat was very comfortable and the perfect size for the three of us. It was also my mom’s birthday, and they went out of their way to make her feel celebrated with music, smooth sailing, and lots of good energy. This was such a professional and welcoming experience. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cabo San Lucas. They have boats for different group sizes, and with a crew like Jaime and José, you’re guaranteed a memorable trip. These two truly deserve recognition for the way they care for their guests!

Serpentario de La Paz is an ecological park that serves as a shelter and sanctuary for over 150 species of reptiles, birds, and other rescued animals. It offers a petting zoo for children and provides educational programs about the local wildlife. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring the well-being of the animals. Visitors can see, touch, and learn about various creatures while supporting their recovery from injuries before being released back into the wild.
This place has been a highlight of our time in La Paz! It’s a small rehabilitation center for injured or abandoned animals. It now costs 200 pesos per adult, which was well worth it! We saw the animals being lovingly, and attentively cared for. There is an area for group education. You can purchase food for some of the animals in the gift shop. We didn’t notice that until we were on our way out, but this did not detract from our experience. The best part is the aviario where guinea pigs and various birds are very social. The birds would land on our arms and nibble at our feet. The guinea pigs also were interested in touching our feet, but not being held. It was magical!
CherylAnn C — Google review
One of the highlights to our La Paz trip. We love animals and it was amazing to see all the work this sanctuary does to help rehabilitate and care for these animals. Saw so many species of snakes and reptiles that we have never seen. The volunteer workers are very passionate and friendly. One told us all about the owls. Recommend wearing long sleeves and pants, in case of mosquitoes.

11 and 9yr old grandsons loved it - want to make it a reoccurring adventure every time they visit. Lots more than just reptiles. Highlights were “feed the birds and Guinea pigs” cage and the pond full of red ear slider turtles. For a few pesos you can purchase food for some of the creatures. It was a fun jaunt. Place was mostly shaded but we brought hats anyway. Cute gift shop and the boys love their T-shirts

Very impressed. Drove by this place many times without ever seeing it because it's in a residential area. As being someone who helps care for a reptile (see some of my other reviews), we were impressed by the whole experience. The critters seem happy and healthy. The staff seem to really enjoy what they do. I would definitely recommend stopping by for a visit. FYI, They are providing care for more than just reptiles.

Wonderful reptile and animal rehab center that's worth a visit to see some endemic species. * Lots of different species of reptiles, birds, and small mammals. The center will try to rehab the endemic animals for release. * Animals are well taken care of and their living spaces are clean. * Animal caretakers walk around frequently and are happy to chat about the rescues. * Plenty of street parking. The serpentarium is located in a suburban neighborhood, nestled between two townhome complexes.

A small zoo, with turtles, reptiles and birds. There is a fee for entry, and you can purchase small amounts of food for the turtles, birds and rabbits. A small information card gives the animals scientific and common name, region and diet, in both Spanish and English. The animals appear to be well cared for. Some are being rehabilitated and some are permanent residents, used for educational programs. (There was a Mexican Grey Fox there when we visited -- so cute!) The turtles, birds and rabbits are habituated to expect food from visitors, so they will swarm you pretty aggressively. The only unfortunate part was the number of biting insects. We all had 20+ bites on our legs and arms before we were done. Wear bug repellent!

El Serpentario de La Paz is an excellent animal shelter to bring your family to. Make sure to bring pesos because they don't take credit cards. You can buy animal food in little water bottle lids to feed turtles, guinea pigs and birds.

This is my wife's favorite place to visit in La Paz. We have tried to visit every other week for the last six months. My wife especially loves to feed the birds, hamsters and occasional rabbit in the enclosure they have. It's like a Disney princess moment for her when the birds are covering her and hamsters are underfoot. I highly recommend Serpentario and it's a must see if you're in La Paz. They have many rehabilitation and permanent exhibits and they take great care of all of the animals.

La Paz is located on the Baja California peninsula on the Bay of La Paz, 210 kilometres (130 mi) south of Ciudad Constitución, municipality of Comondú, and 202 kilometres (126 mi) north of Cabo San Lucas, municipality of Los Cabos. It is located 81 kilometres (50 mi) north of the town of Todos Santos. Its geographical coordinates are 24°08′32″ N and parallel 110°18′39″W, it has an altitude of 0 to 27 meters above the sea level. It is one of the three state capitals of Mexico that are on the coast of the sea.La Paz has a subtropical desert climate (BWh). The climate of La Paz is relatively consistent with generally little rainfall, with a year around average temperature of between 17 and 30 °C (63 and 86 °F). Summer months (July–September) typically see highs between 34 and 36 °C (93 and 97 °F) and dew points of 21–23 °C (70–73 °F). [8] The winter months (December–February) are the coldest with temperatures dropping below 15 °C (59 °F) at night, but cold mostly are from 20 to 25 °C (68 to 77 °F). Breezes from Bahía de La Paz moderate the temperature. The bay also acts as a barrier against seasonal storms in the Gulf of California. Rainfall is minimal at most times of year, although erratic downpours can bring heavy rains. Rain tends to be concentrated in a short, slightly rainier season that peaks in August and September, following the pattern of the North American Monsoon. The driest season, where it is common to have no rain, occurs March through June. La Paz averages over 300 days of sunshine annually and an average of 3148 sunshine hours. During the summer the cooling Coromuel winds, a weather phenomenon unique to the La Paz area, blow during the night from the Pacific over the Peninsula and into the Bay of La Paz. As with most of the Gulf of California, the temperature of the water changes substantially over the course of the year, with temperatures around 68 °F (20 °C) during winter and around 85 °F (29 °C) during summer

Being an explorer in searching for good diving, snorkeling, and natural sceneries, we bit the tourist trap by purchasing the tour. The water is not as clear as Hawaii, or some part of Cancun. Even around the coves where they are sheltered from the coastal winds, when water is as calm as a lake with gentle winds brushing the surface, the water is murky. The visibility is less than 4 meters from the surface. We can barely see corrals beneath the water at 4 meters below, and the bottom estimated to be 10 meters. We have to swim in water depths of 1 meters around coarse sands to see small fishes no larger than three fingers. Any deeper, you can't even see the bottom clearly. Larger fishes the size of your two hands couldn't be seen around August. Make sure to visit during peak periods around December to March. It will be very crowded. Not sure how the turbidity conditions be with that much movements.

Nice place to chill after sea lions diving! Must stop for a quick visit (stayed there around 1 1/2 hours) and the views are spectacular. Believe you should book a ride to take you there, as it does not have direct access from the Espirito Santo Island

An incredible beach to visit, even thought it is quite hard to get there since the only way to visit the beach is by boat, but after all, it is still a must of you are in La Paz, the beach is just as beautiful as Balandra which means an stunning view and maybe one of the most beautiful beaches you would ever see!.
