Praia do Sono is a secluded and tranquil beach accessible by small boats, located near the coastal village of Trindade. It is renowned for its pristine white sands, calm and clear waters perfect for swimming, and hiking trails through rough jungle paths. The area offers simple guest houses and a few families living in the vicinity who work in local restaurants and bars.
Absolutely Incredible place! It was Definitely worth the hike. I can't wait to come back!
K D — Google review
Beautiful beach! I took the bus from the central station in Paraty going to Vila Oratorio. I got down in the last stop, that's where the hike starts. There're signs. Took me almost 1 hour to get to Praia do Sono, it was really hot and the path goes up and down. Can be slippery in some parts. Beware of snakes, spiders and scorpions (there's even a sign about it). I just saw a dead snake in the path. I had lunch in the only place open. It was good. Guess that low season has something to do with it cause there's plenty of bars/restaurants in the shore. There's also camping sites, it's a great option to stay here longer and explore nearby beaches. There's also a 5 nights hike, camping along the way and bringing your own food. The sea had waves, and it was fun! Be conscious about your level in the water as there's no lifeguards or whatsoever. I loved the fact there were few people. Definitely worth coming here for an entire day or more!! I 😊😁😄 I went back hiking, but I saw people taking a boat
M S — Google review
After a walk of 1.30 hour through the jungle get there ( you can go by boat, but it's not the same feeling). The beach is very beautiful and clean. There is a variety of restaurants even being an isolated beach. There are lots of camping sites if you want to stay overnight.
FERNANDO R — Google review
You can reach Praia do Sono by walking through a 3km trail. It's not a difficult one but be sure to use repellent.
Francisco M — Google review
Naturally beautiful and isolated!
Adelino J — Google review
Great place to stop by, worth the visit. You can get there by hiking or taxi boat. I went hinking and at the end of the day I got a boat back to our car. The locals are very receptive and their food is amazing, you won't regret the visit. Don't be afraid of the dogs they are friendly and like to be around for company and they like to play.
Guido A — Google review
Perfect place to rest. Not so easy access making this place more calm.
Emil K — Google review
Easy to get there from Paraty. Bus leaves fairly regularly to Vila Oratorio and from there you can walk the (fairly) simple 3km walk to the beach. It was pretty slippery when I went but if you are of reasonable fitness then it shouldn’t be a problem.

Paraty Bay is a picturesque destination set against the backdrop of a lush coastal mountain range. With over 50 islands and 100 beaches, it offers plenty of opportunities for exploration in its protected waters. The area also boasts tropical mangroves, historic ruins, and fishing villages that showcase the region's biodiversity and culture, earning it recognition from UNESCO. Additionally, Paraty Bay has a rich history as an exit point for treasures bound for Portugal and as a stronghold for corsairs and pirates.

paraty is a great litlle town with beutyfull beaches , and other natural attractions. but the pousadas and hotel in he city center and the hitoric center are too expensive and often fully booked. i recomend to stay in the near by jabaquara beach (20 minutes walk from the historic center or 5 minutes by hourly bus); there you can find cheaper and even better accomodation, and you will be rigth in front of a beutyfull quite beach, which is the only one thing that makes sense of the whole trip to brazil .

Cachadaço beach is a stunning, wide stretch of coastline with a trail leading to natural pools surrounded by rocks and lush native vegetation. To reach this tropical paradise, travelers can take a paved road from Bairro do Patrimonio in Paraty or pay attention after crossing the border between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro when coming from Ubatuba to Trindade. The beach is a favorite among explorers for its access to the Atlantic Forest hillside and short trail.
Great beach tropical paradise with great views and calm waters. We ate some delicious fresh oysters from a shucker right in the sand and also visited a restaurant with views of the water. This was the best beach for us while staying in Paraty

Super beach!!! If you get a nice sun and not as much waves, it is one of the nicest beaches in this region.
Björn J — Google review
One of the beaches i prefered when in Brazil. So untouched, no hotels, no restaurants, not a lot of people. Really wild place. The walk from the Trindade beach is just beautiful. Enjoy a bit of trekking with my gf. U better use good shoes because its not that comfy with flipflops.
ANDRES R — Google review
Two beaches next to each other. Beautiful landscape. Although it was not a very good weather when we visited it was still beautiful, clean with not so rough waves!
Maria K — Google review
Best beach in Trindade for me. The waves are a bit intense for kids but great for adults, the beach has a large portion of sand to do a lot of activities, and there's also a great place to eat and have drinks: Caiçara

Waterfalls
Cachoeira do Tobogã, located a short drive away from Paraty, is a unique waterfall where the water flows over a stone to form a natural slide and pool. To reach this attraction, visitors can take a bus from Rodoviaria de Paraty to the neighborhood of Penha. The highlight of the place is the surfing stone that adds an element of entertainment for both locals and tourists.
Fantastic little place. Parking is only 50 meters away and it's not too crowded in winter. Friendly staff, amazing cocktails, the kids were entertained for hours. Their Jorge Amado Caipirinha is my new favourite cocktail.
Mathias S — Google review
A place where you want to take a swim or at least walk in water, especially on a very hot day. To get to the place, you need to walk a bit, but I wouldn't even call it a hike. It's a nice walk through a forest. No tickets to get to the falls are needed.
Jana K — Google review
This was amazing! Definitely a must visit!! We went on a rainy day, which was actually perfect! Make sure to bring your swimsuit, because you can take incredible pics here! (it may have been due to the rain, but we did not pay for entrance. I think I saw a sign that normally there is an entrance fee but we’re not sure as the desk was closed)
Ronald M — Google review
Around 100 metres from the church at Penha you will arrive at the river where the rock formation is used by locals and tourists as a slide. A few steps to the middle of the river where you can slide down! It is so much fun and the locals even surf down it. It’s free admission and there are small pool formations at the bottom, middle and top for refreshing. Definitely work a visit if you’re staying in Paraty. You definitely do not need a guide; we caught the o local bus from Paraty bus station for R$5 per person to Penha, you can’t miss it.
Kara H — Google review
I didn't expect much from this local attraction but to be honest I was absolutely blown away by it! It was extreme fun watching locals pulling off incredible tricks as well as sliding yourself. It is quite bigger than in the pictures and don't worry it is absolutely safe though there are spots on the slide that can be quite painful. But no worries, nothing too serious! The locals are there to help you slide. Ask them to take you into the waterfall right next to it. You can enter the waterfall, chill inside and then slide out again. Amazing experience! It is all for free but if you appreciate locals' help, you can give them a tip in the tip jar hanging on the tree next to the slide. Absolutely recommended to anyone staying in Paraty! Taxis will take you here for about 40 Reals.
TxicoTxeco — Google review
Such a fun experience! Paid R$20 for parking and there are toilets in the car park you can use and don’t have to pay extra for when you pay for parking. 5 min walk to the bottom of the waterfalls. 5 min climb up to the top. 2 life guards helping people slide down the waterfalls (it’s like a natural water slide). There is a restaurant at the top which we didn’t go to but it looked nice!
Alex P — Google review
Nice waterfall on rocks, right on the end of the road of gold. Has a nice restaurant watching over the falls.
Yu F — Google review
Awesome and beautiful spot! The natural slide is a ton of fun and the food at the restaurant was excellent as well. Highly recommend visiting here 👍👍’s @nothin_but_views

Housed in an 18th-century mansion, this museum offers a comprehensive look at Paraty's history and cultural heritage through photos, artifacts, and personal accounts from residents throughout the ages. The well-curated exhibits beautifully represent the region's cultural and natural heritage. Additionally, visitors can enjoy a friendly café and various cultural activities on-site.
We can see several exhibits related to Paraty. We don’t need to pay admission fee. If you have 30 minutes, you can see all there.

Lovely space to learn more about Paraty. There is a QR code to access the translation in English. They accept cash donations.
Lucille B — Google review
Very well curated exhibits that do a great job representing cultural and narural heritage of not only Paraty but also the rest of the region. It's open rather regular hours (a definite bonus) and the space is welcoming, I would recommend this place as it represents a great effort to display local treasures in such a small town. I wish there was a bit of signage in English to make it more accessible but the atmosphere is worth it even without being able to read the details

Military Museums
Museu Forte Defensor Perpétuo is a historical site located in Paraty, offering visitors a glimpse into the 18th-century defensive history of the region. The former battery features well-preserved cannons and provides stunning views of the bay. A short hike through bamboo forests leads to the fort, where a small museum showcases its history.
The exhibition contains very few items, but the posters on the walls offer interesting information on the history of Paraty, and as well the history of Brazil. Access is for free. Very nearby are stunning views of nature and we saw big birds as well as turtles.
Jakob S — Google review
Had an impromptu tour from Raul (curator?) of this lovely historic fort which is a great place to visit if you are in Paraty. Raul is a genuine enthusiast who told us all about the British guns that were given to Brazil by King George - apparently they were only fired once in 1822 and then only to celebrate an historic occasion. They looked great though, pointing out across the bay! He also told us the history of the indigenous craftsmen in this part of Brazil and spent lots of time with us despite the fort being officially closed for maintenance!
Ian B — Google review
After around 5 minutes hike, you can see remains of old fort and small museum. Taking photo museum is prohibited. Honestly, the view from there was not co much beautiful because there were a lot of tree and it made me difficult to see the sea. It’s better to take care ants and insects.
Papipupenta — Google review
Well preserved and maintained fort overlooking the bay of Paraty. Small basic museum but the short hike up the hill is well worth if for the views. Small beach at low tide if you walk down the rocks but not the allowed for swimming. Must go place if you are a morning walk lover person
Vinicius B — Google review
I'm not sure whether the museum is worth paying for to visit, but the place is worth walking to for the trees and the views. It's a short stroll from the old town of Paraty.
Ken H — Google review
Rent a bike and cycle to the top of the fort to be rewarded with some great views of Paraty and the sea! The top is an open area with grass where you can chill, or even take a picnic.
Timothy C — Google review
It is a good place to check Paraty front high vantage point, but there isn't much to see there. The Museum was closed due to the pandemic.
Bruno D — Google review
A short walk uphill will lead you to a peaceful outpost with amazing views of beautiful Paraty. Going there also serves as a reminder of how good it is to walk on solid pavement after trying to navigate the wobbly cobblestones in the historic center of Paraty.

Sugarloaf Peak (Mamanguá) is a flat-topped peak with stunning views of the tropical fjord below. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as kayaking to deserted beaches, hiking up the peak for impressive views, and exploring the mangrove in canoes. The area also offers opportunities to join the local caicaras for lunch and take private boat tours from Mamangua to Paraty, stopping at islands and isolated beaches along the way.
Such a stunning view! The hike is a bit challenging and took us 1 hour in a moderate tempo. We didn’t meet anyone on the way which made the experience very exclusive and enjoyable. And the view, one of the best I’ve ever experienced!
Herman — Google review
It's possible to get here from Paraty via a public bus and then a water taxi to the fjord. The hike to the peak is tough, it's not particularly far but it is steep and very humid. The view from the top is very impressive.
Benjamin M — Google review
Beautiful hike, but can be challenging about a 30-40 degree incline climb on the way up. It’s a 384 meter climb, took us about 44mins. 1,259 feet Views are stunning
Mike — Google review
A most do! Probably the best view I had of my entire life.
Jean-Philippe N — Google review
The trailhead is accessible by speedboat from Paraty Mirim. The trail is well maintained, moderate difficulty. The view is totally worth it.
Judit P — Google review
Very steep hike to get to the top of Sugarloaf Peak but if you take your time and watch your step, you'll get up there without any injuries. The path is pretty clear and the views from the top are phenomenal.

Just under an hour up and around 40 mins down for us but it is pretty hard with the heat and humidity. However, the views at the top make it totally worth it. Make sure you go all the way to the top with the rope onto the big rock so you can get incredible 360 views. Then jump in the sea when you get down to cool off :)

Paraty Sport Aventura is the largest arvorism park in Brazil, offering circuits for both adults and children, as well as activities such as zip-lining, rappelling, kayaking, and picnicking. The park is located near the Rio-Santos highway in Paraty and offers canyoning trips. Visitors have praised the entertaining experience and recommended trying the red circuit and zip line.
Amazing experience! We went as a group of 6 and did the red course. It was pretty challenging physically but you're rewarded with a long zipline over a river which was amazing! I would recommend this to anyone who wants a challenge and beautiful views!
S Y — Google review
It is a very beautiful place, it was a very entertaining experience and above all it is highly recommended. The red circuit and the zip line is too entertaining, They offer adventure activities, it is very well organized, the zip line circuit is long and in height is quite a lot and in the circuits even the simplest has a bit complicated parts, the experience was great, Arborism, zip lines, kayaks, rappelling accompanied by visits of monkeys. You have the opportunity to walk in the treetops but its main attraction is the obstacle course. The stay is wonderful, sometimes it is scary, the height is quite high but the guide was always available to help you if necessary. You basically climb from tree to tree over different obstacles each time, some more difficult than others. Great views, it is very impressive. There are three different ropes courses, one for beginners, the intermediate one and one that is highly technical and more difficult and is not at all disappointing, All the staff were great, conscientious, friendly and they convey a lot of confidence. Wonderful hours are spent and an excellent experience to live, A fun day for any age, this was one of the best attractions. Without a doubt it is a wonderful place.

(Translated by Google) Poorly signposted, unkempt trails, although the instructors are friendly, one of them was extremely rude to me, which made me not want to go back there or recommend it to anyone. I do not recommend it for children aged 6 and 7, as the circuit is small and very easy, not worth the price charged. We have been to parks where there was an entrance fee and children could go as many times as they wanted, which were infinitely better than this one. There in Paraty-Mirim there are several boatmen who offer a ferry service to Praia do Cruzeiro (this is where the trail starts). I paid 250 for a round trip and the trip took about 20 minutes.

(Translated by Google) The beginning of the trail is quite challenging, with a steep climb, reaching an altitude of 190 m. The rest of the trail goes through various stages, ranging from well-defined paths to dense forest. According to locals, few people do the trail, so in dense forest the trail may be covered, but it is easy to find. I did the trail without a guide, so apart from these short stretches where the vegetation is more prevalent, the trail is good. The end leads to several beaches in Saco do Mamangua and is very rewarding. After doing the trail, there is the option of returning by boat. Just talk to the locals, and the price is approximately 150 reais to return to Paraty Mirim beach. If you decide to go by car to Paraty Mirim, there is a parking lot near the entrance to the trail. Don't forget to bring a bottle of water and insect repellent. Due to the dense forest in some areas, it can get quite stuffy and full of mosquitoes at times. Don't forget that you are on a trail, so you may find yourself in front of wildlife. During my trail I came across a family of coatis, but locals told us that there are also jaguars in the area. If you like hiking, this one will leave you feeling very satisfied and fulfilled. Praia do Pontal is a bustling tree-lined stretch of coastline with numerous food and drink vendors. It's the closest beach to the historical center of Paraty, offering a laid-back atmosphere where visitors can relax with a cold beer or traditional Brazilian caipirinha from beach bars. The beach also provides opportunities for sea kayaking, paddle-boarding, and boat rentals.

Very dirty water, absolutely not good for swimming
Duoyuan G — Google review
Locals don't recommend that anyone swim in these waters. This is where river water mixes with seawater, and as the river gets sewage from the city, the water is not suitable for swimming. If you came all the way to Paraty, make a bit more of an effort and drive to any of the dozens of other options that are much nicer than this beach. There are about 5 kiosks that offer shade and places to sit and drink and eat. If you just want to go for a stroll and not go in the water, then fair enough, but this is all this beach provides.
Joao C — Google review
If you're looking for a beach where the sound of the waves drowns out the noise of everyday life, Praia do Pontal is your perfect escape. This tranquil gem offers a peaceful haven with the bonus of being just a short stroll from Paraty's charming old town. Imagine waking up to the sea breeze and stepping right onto the sand for breakfast—no need to change out of your pajamas! It’s the ideal spot to relax and soak in the soothing atmosphere. Plus, with the historical streets of Paraty just around the corner, you can immerse yourself in centuries-old architecture, then return to your peaceful beachside retreat. Whether you're a history lover or a relaxation seeker, this beach is a place where you can feel the past while enjoying the present.

Located just a 15-minute drive inland from Paraty, Fazenda Bananal Restaurant offers a unique dining experience in an immaculately restored colonial farm setting. The restaurant serves delicious farm-to-table cuisine in a light-filled space, allowing visitors to enjoy a delightful meal before exploring the museum, tropical gardens, and working farm on the property. This simple yet evocative establishment provides insight into the area's history and future potential.
Fantastic place in the middle of the nature. The restaurant is within the fazenda and offers a huge variety of options. The quality of the dishes is really exceptional and colorful. The fazenda itself offers several activities, ideal also for families with kids. I highly recommend this place.

Lovely grounds, the museum, gardens, main house, trails, all beautiful and I think it's absolutely worth a visit. I cannot highly recommend the restaurant. We were the only table and service was SLOW, no one brings menus, no one offers water, the food took forever and the beef was so chewy it was uneatable. We did love the salads, the roasted hear of palm, and desserts were delicious.

I had an amazing time at this place! The food was super fresh, flavorful, and they had generous portions. After lunch, we took a stroll around the farm and enjoyed the beautiful grounds. The service was a bit slower, but that’s not uncommon in many places. The cocktails were also great, but the food was definitely the star of the show! 📸 click the photos to see what we ordered

I wanted to review the actual farm " Fazenda Bananal". Beautiful property super well maintained, lots to see and learn. Spent a raining afternoon there and hours went by. The sustainable house is cool, the big house where the exhibitions are really cool. The restaurant dishes smelled divine. We couldn't eat because you need a reservation. This is the real deal so make the reservation !

What an amazing property, by far the best restaurant I have been too. I highly recommend this place to anyone who ever goes to Paraty, this is a must eat. The food was amazing and the staff was more than perfect and extremely accommodating. We really wanted to try the cheese they made on the farm but it wasn't on the menu and the staff made it happen. They also went way above and beyond and sent us home with some cheese. I make no reservations when I say this; the ice cream was by far the best I have ever had in my life, you need to try it to believe it. Love this place and love the staff the owner should be very proud. Can't wait to come back.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful, peaceful, traditional, the place has changed a lot, but it remains wonderful! I've been going to the inn since the early 2000s. That's more than 20 years. I made friends, took unforgettable trips, saw electricity arrive and fishing be replaced by tourism and then become an important commercial activity again, saw the entire community move to Paraty to rent out their houses. I saw guitar circles replaced by loud speakers (the community itself asks that this not happen). In short, the community has evolved and, for the good of all, today the houses have electricity, refrigerators and even internet, technological benefits that make life easier. Even so, the whole region maintains a certain aura of isolation that has remained untouched throughout these more than 20 years. The peaceful life, the Caiçara culture and the natural beauty of the place have changed little or not at all. The beaches remain beautiful, the water is spectacular. Some people remain in the same place, like Dona Dica, now elderly, making her wonderful squid pastry on Praia Grande beach! Or Ananias and Regianne, taking care of the Trilha do Peixe campsite and attending to everyone with affection and dedication. There's Manequinho at Sumaca (one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen), with his peculiar humor and his always well-prepared food. In short, while the place has evolved, many things remain untouched. For those who go: in 4 days you will see all the beaches. Want to relax? Seven days is enough to return to the places you liked best and spend some afternoons stretched out on the sand. Ten days is the time for you to start feeling isolated from the world. In 30 days you'll be a local, starting to wake up at 5 am and going to sleep at 8 pm. Bring snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, fins), all the beaches have excellent snorkeling spots. Bring insect repellent! During peak season, there's food, drinks, and a small bakery with some everyday items, in addition to the traditional pizza bread that's been made the same way for who knows how long. Outside of peak season, it's best to bring everything. Bring hiking shoes. Excursions aren't expensive, ranging from 15 to 60 reais per person. Food costs around 25 reais per dish; in some places it's enough for two people, in others not. Pastries range from ten to 20 reais (my favorite is the squid pastry from Dona Dica's on Praia Grande beach – generous portions and very well made). Beer was 15 reais for a 600ml bottle in January 2022. There are also snacks available. Most places only offer seafood and fish. Fishermen always have squid, fish, and shrimp; it's well worth preparing them every day. Have a good trip! As praias continuam belíssimas, a água é espetacular. Pra quem for: em 4 dias você conhecerá todas as praias. Quer descansar? Boa viagem!

(Translated by Google) ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere is well decorated and represents the dinosaur theme well, which is reinforced by the characterization of the waitresses as expeditionaries who serve customers as "Adventurers". SERVICE + FOOD However, the service left a lot to be desired, due to the delay in delivering the orders, which in my case was (01 Giganotosaurus (burger), 01 Stegosaurus (burger), 01 Fritastitan (Fries with Cheddar and Bacon 400g) and 01 H20 (soft drink). After placing the order, the French Fries and the soft drink arrived in less than 15 minutes, but the burgers took exactly 1h8min to arrive at my table, and unfortunately I was not the only one to suffer with this absurd delay, all the customers were complaining about the delay, which, incredible as it may seem, also corresponded to more than 1h. Nevertheless, the bread on the base of both burgers arrived sweaty and fell apart when touched, in addition to the fact that after more than 1h of waiting, the soft drink was warm and in the cups all that was left were what at some point were the ice cubes. ENVIRONMENT In addition, the environment was not well air-conditioned. I had noticed that the environment had 4 air conditioners, of which only 2 appeared to be working, since the display of two of them showed "16°C" and the other 2 had the code "F0" - a code that indicates that communication between the internal unit and the external unit has been interrupted or is damaged. As for the background music, the songs were good, most of the songs were "hits", however they would always get stuck, and when the transition between songs occurred it was bizarre, because the songs would intertwine as if one was corrupting the other, and suddenly the next song would start playing solo.

Many kiosks over the beach, and that attract a lot of tourist's, but anyway it's a amazing beach, with light sand and green water, many parking lot options over the beach. Nearby Camburi (Ubatuba-SP) and Paraty-RJ city, very know because of its historical importance.

Hotel
Nestled in the heart of Paraty's Historic Center, Pousada do Ouro offers a classic colonial architecture and decor. The elegant guesthouse features spacious rooms with whitewashed walls and colorful doors and windows. Guests can enjoy amenities such as an outdoor pool, sauna, massage sessions, movie nights, and a game room. The attentive staff provides top-notch service that is highly praised by visitors.
Our stay at Pousada de Ouro was exceptional for several reasons. First of all, the hotel is located in a beautiful complex of typical houses of the time, with attention to detail, it was very clean and had all the amenities to make the stay perfect. On the other hand, we had a problem with the rental car, and Alessandra helped us with all the conversations and subsequent transfers to the different places on our trip. All the hotel workers are extremely friendly and willing to lend a hand. I recommend staying at Pousada do Ouro and would definitely stay there again.

Cozy hotel with lots of sitting spaces, nice pool with a bar and sitting areas. Rustic rooms with comfortable bed. Very fast Wi-Fi, good shower, very clean. Safe box, fridge and little "backyard" about 1 square meter that can be used by smokers. Excellent buffet with lots of fruits and a menu you can order from. Very close to main square but on a quiet street. Worth every penny paid for it. A garment stand or a simple chair to put your clothes on at night would be a valuable addition.

Wonderful hotel - deserves more stars! Reception staff and room cleaning staff especially are very friendly and welcoming. We were made to feel special for celebrating our anniversary. Photos do not do justice to how beautiful the rooms and shared spaces are - would book to stay here again

We had a lovely time at the Pousada do Ouro. Everything was great - the room, the location, the pool and everything else. The people could not have been more lovely and kind. A special thanks to Isabella and Filipe for their kindness and rescuing my backpack which I stupidly left in a cab. Also a special thanks to Junior for his friendship, explanations of the birds and of course the caipirinhas!

Very very nice, unique, charming place in historic centre of Paraty. Old school building totally refurbished into stylish hotel. Big rooms, excellent breakfast, super kind service and personnel. Swimming pool, sauna, cosy bar. All that you need and want for a careless stay in beautiful Paraty.

Well located, great customer service from all employees (Thank you Filipe, Junior, Caio, Ian, and all those who we do not get a chance to get the names); it is a charming place in the heart of the historic downtown. Breakfast has lots of variety and fresh food.

Beautiful stay here, right in the middle of the colonial town. The staff was incredibly helpful, receptive, and I was able to communicate with them easily in English as well. They have amenities too: we used their sauna and got some relaxing massages. The breakfast was excellent!

What a fantastic place. It was a real travel in time. The pool and adjoining bar with classic pool table reminded My wife and I of the old world. We had a wonderful time here. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. The food was absolutely delicious. Much of the staff spoke English. The rooms were very clean. Pretty good value for the money too. Highly recommend ouro !!!!!!

Bed & breakfast
Pousada da Marquesa is a charming 18th-century guesthouse located in the Historical Centre of Paraty. The colonial-style house is adorned with antique decor, creating a nostalgic ambiance that extends to the restaurant. The rustic yet modern design of the rooms provides comfort with amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and minibars. Guests can enjoy spacious accommodation, a pool, and massage treatments while being just 2 km from Jabaquara Beach.
I absolutely love this place. It’s understated and has a quiet, old world charm about it that is missing in most other hotels I’ve been to. The service is excellent, the breakfast is very generous, the pool area and gardens are very well looked after and the pool bar is extremely good value. Don’t be put-off by the 2star hotel label- I’ve been in many ‘4star’ hotels that couldn’t hold a candle to this place. Also, ideal location- moments from dozens of restaurants and bars.
Brian F — Google review
Location only gets 4 stars not because the pousada is badly situated, not at all. But because it's located in the cobble stone pedestrian area and this could make it harder to reach if you have mobility issues. The room I stayed in was great, good bed, great shower. But the absolute selling point is the pool area with it's bar and what has to be the nicest bartender I have ever met!
Jeroen ( — Google review
Beautiful place to stay. It’s like you’re living in a museum. Breakfast was fantastic, the bread was so fresh. One criticism I would say is there are roaches and termites in the rooms. They won’t hurt you but rather unpleasant to have around.

Beautiful setting right in front of the historic church! It's like a haven of peace right in the middle of the old town. Way more peaceful than the touristic area. Super service too! English is not really spoken here but with a smile and a little effort everything can be understood. Warmly recommended!

If you studied a little customer experience, you would know that this type of thing greatly reduces your chances of sales. I then went down and went to see the orchid nursery and the bromeliad nursery. So far, no one has answered me. Arriving at what divides the two greenhouses, a giant and very angry dog was inside the orchid nursery and was trying to bite me through the screen. In the bromeliads were a man and a teenager who didn't say anything! I said good morning and it stopped there. To top it off, a small mongrel was growling and walking behind me the whole time. Até aqui no ninguém me atendeu. Had an amazing experience at Raul's ranch. Before we started he made us connect with the horses. He explained everything perfectly. While riding the horses, he explained about horsemanship, the life of the animals around his home and so much more. The ranch is located in a marvelous place. After the ride we got a nice pick-nick in a once in a lifetime setting. The views are breathtaking Raul, our mountain friend from Brasil, when I'm back in Brasil one day, I'll come back to visit you and you're beautiful home on top of the hill. Thank you for having us and being so nice to us.

Raul and his horses are the best! He's such a patient teacher, his 'garden' is absolutely beautiful and the two horses we rode Laredo and Universe are super calm and well trained. It made for a wonderful experience. The picnic towards the end of the ride is really well put together and the setting where you eat it, taking in the view is special. I really cannot recommend Raul highly enough! ❤️

Excellent. I love horseback riding, horses, and just being outside, so this 3-hour ride was bliss. I didn't have an opinion on where to ride. Raul took me all around their acreage on the mountainside. He and his wife speak English and I only know a few words in Portuguese. He told me all about the local plants and picked fruit for me to try. He is very pleasant, and took pictures and video of me with my camera. He set up a driver to pick me up at my pousada guest house and take me back. He was able to take a credit card for both. The lunch and picnic were lovely. The horses seem happy and healthy. I look forward to coming back someday.

One of our highlights traveling Brazil! This experience was everything we hoped for and so much more. Both my boyfriend (beginner) and myself (intermediate rider) had the most inspiring and humbling day, spending time with Raul and his beautiful horses. Raul taught us so much about establishing a natural relationship with the horses (who have a dream home at his families’ farm) while also educating us on the rural landscape and history of the environment. He is the kindest soul and made us feel very comfortable. The tour comes with a picnic stop with delicious juices, snacks and breathtaking views. We hope we come back one day and bring everyone we know ;) Highly recommended!!

Myself and my girlfriend had a fantastic time riding with Raul. I had never ridden before and Raul made me feel comfortable and confidant quickly. He is so knowledgeable about the area, the vegetation and the horses, and is so passionate about what he does. Raul speaks English very well and we had lovely conversations. The view from the main view point is incredible. The whole experience was so special with a delicious cake at the end too. The horses felt safe and comfortable and Raul organised our taxi which was efficient, comfortable and easy. We could not have asked for any more from the experience and highly recommend. Our favourite day in Brazil so far! Thank you so much Raul!

My girlfriend and I were booking horse riding with Raul on Christmas Day. It was the first time for me on a horse but I felt comfortable from the first second because of Raul’s super friendly and calm personality. I can only recommend that experience. Really good for beginners.

Awesome place. If you are visiting Parati, Trindade is one of top places here to visit, specially the beach named “praia do meio” which is a nature reserve. Lula Beach, also known as Praia da Lulu or Beach of the Squid, is a secluded gem located on a small uninhabited island near Paraty. Accessible only by sea, this beautiful sandy beach boasts crystal clear waters and pristine white sands. The surrounding ocean is warm and inviting, perfect for swimming and relaxation. Just beautiful. Must go! (Just nature, no infrastructure such as washrooms or kiosks).

Brilliant place to spend all day but......too many ships with tourists with loud music, influencers taking millions of photos but it's still worth to take private transfer from Party and enjoy all day there. Remember to take food and drinks with you as there is nothing like shop or bar

It's just fantastic! You'll usually get there by boat, mine, was Netuno IV, great team by the way. You can jump from the boat and go swimming. Beautiful place.
Uendell M — Google review
Great stop as part of our boat tour. Recomend swimming from the boat if you have the fitness for it.

A nice little beach which looks like you can only access via a boat tour which we paid R$50pp for (we went in June and you can probably negotiate this down). The water is warm and the views are amazing.
Chris K — Google review
It is a place you must go if you visit Paraty. Rent a boat for the day as it is the only way to get to this beach. It can be a private boat or tour boat, they all go there, I honestly prefer the private boat as you can decide how long you want to stay in each place.
Guido A — Google review
Beatiful warm waters beach with a private property. Good shades available. No access to the main roads, access only by boat.

Clear and calm waters. Went in a Wednesday and it was quite empty for a sunny day, almost private. Awesome for kids with adult supervision. Beautiful place. Must go when at Paraty.

AMAZING Paradise😎 Easy access. . Just 5 minutes by boat from Gonçalinho Beach. I recommend the Konquilhas restaurant. Fair price and great customer service. The waiter "Coquinho" is very friendly and hard worker.
Ronald O — Google review
It's a short boat ride from nearby são Gonçalo Beach. This small island has three little beaches with simple restaurants. Plenty of shade under the trees. The sea is extremely calm and the water is clear. Great place to spend a few hours, especially for families with children

We loved this beach! So gorgeous, and much more accessible than other beaches in the area. The parking lot is right in front of the beach. There is some shade, but we got food at the restaurant and got to use their umbrellas too. There are almost no waves, just beautiful views. Perfect for kids!

An amazing beach, definitely deserves 5 stars. The city, however, doesn't really have a great structure.

A beautiful place and you can swin because the water is clean. Security and calm to travel with the family. There is a Blue Arara and a Red Arara that flys through the beach. A wonderful moment with these birds.
