At Tai Koo Li, we first checked out the open-air shopping space here. It is known that Tai Koo Li is famed for its high-end shopping. This time, we saw shops such as Prada, Gucci and LV nestled in its traditional Chinese-architectures with LV having its own entire space in a building as shown in our photo above. It was also nice to stroll here because of its open-air concept and modern x traditional-Chinese layout... For more details, visit 2bearbear today!

Tianfu Square, located in the heart of Chengdu, is a must-visit destination known for its vibrant atmosphere and convenient access to popular attractions like Kuanzhai Alley and Chunxi Road. This expansive square, surrounded by towering skyscrapers, is the largest in southwest China and boasts a distinctive yin yang shape when viewed from above. It's a bustling hub where locals and tourists alike gather to fly kites or simply soak up the lively ambiance.
Is just a location that everyone come to take photos of the status.... Well maintain area...The whole park is huge n clean... Many people just sit around n kids playing... Believe the place will be beautiful when lights up in the evening

This is the bustling heart of Chengdu, with a towering Mao Zedong statue overlooking the city. While it’s more of a landmark than an attraction, it’s a great spot for people-watching, seeing kids play, and soaking in the city’s energy. If you're visiting at night, don’t miss the illuminated fountains, they add a nice touch. A quick but worthwhile stop if you're exploring downtown!
Leotrails — Google review
Good location in the centre of the city. Metro is an easy way to visit the Tianfu Square.
Sehrana R — Google review
Someone put some effort in here to make it look nice. Maybe take a few pictures and take a look to see what’s around given that you may pass by since it’s located pretty close to city center

Well. Maintained park and square good for a walk in evening or night, we could not see any other places around as we had been there in the night for dinner as Halal restaurants nearby.

Underground tianfu sqaure has almost everything. If you happen to save time in one stop before leaving to the airport. I recommened coming here. There is many souvenir shop. Coffee and Tea shop and countless restaurants junk food local food convenient store or even Uniqlo!
Bow S — Google review
Squares and parks usually don't disappoint in China. From a bird's eye view, it also forms a massive Taiji which is super cool. Underneath it is a metro station and massive food court. To the sides, you also have the Chengdu Museum and the Sichuan Science and Technology Museum. Further to this, there is a big statue of Mao Zedong, a giant set of peonies and the usual suspects in a Chinese square.
Kalin S — Google review
This is a huge and nice park in the city center that offers a great and nice view of skycrappers of the areas and is colourful too as it is beautifully decorated with many flowers and plants. It's better to visit at night and with the lightings, it's lovely. And right across is the Sichuan Museum of Science and Technology (that's also very nice at night with the lightings) with the "signature" statue of Chairman Mao. Very spectacular and nice building. The square is located just above the Tianfu metro station. And after our dinner, we came by here via metro for our stroll and indulged in it since we are all flower and plant lovers and took us about 15mins walk back to where we stayed at Chunxi Road.

Shops hotel waterpark ice rink cinema. Motorised train for kids coffee shops and eateries and metro. Big big space for alround family fun
Claire T — Google review
As a Westerner, visiting the Chengdu Global Center was a pretty fascinating experience, just the sheer scale of the place is wild. The entrance alone is massive and impressive. Inside, there are a ton of shops and restaurants, so it’s easy to spend a couple of hours wandering around and people watching. That said, if you’re a foreigner, be aware that some stores may charge you a foreigner tax, and a lot of the items are priced higher than what you’d find elsewhere in the city. Still, it was well worth a visit just to see it for myself, but I probably wouldn’t go back again with so much else to explore in Chengdu.

Huge building with a lot of shops and has a metro station underneath. However, it’s quite empty and has some parts that are abandoned. Love the water park inside.

A large, luxury shopping mall located in the heart of Chengdu. It brings together numerous world-class fashion brands, along with restaurants, cafes, and a cinema, making it a complete hub for shopping and entertainment. However, the highlight that makes IFS famous worldwide is the giant panda sculpture climbing the side of the building. For anyone visiting, don't forget to go up and take a photo with the adorable panda on the 7th floor!
Tongz N — Google review
Visited during Golden Week — it was crowded but definitely manageable! The main highlight is a giant panda sculpture called “I Am Here” 🐼 climbing over the IFS building — easily one of Chengdu’s most iconic photo spots and a must-visit for tourists. The mall is huge, modern, and super clean, with a mix of local and international brands like Prada, Sephora and Balenciaga, plus plenty of dining options and even an ice-skating rink. 💡 Tip: for a photo with the panda’s face view (and not just the butt 😆), head to the 7th floor terrace! And if you’re already at IFS, do walk over to Taikoo Li for the famous 3D screen, aesthetic photo spot and luxury shopping! Overall, a must-visit spot in Chengdu that perfectly blends shopping, sightseeing, and that iconic panda charm Chengdu is known for.
Edwin G — Google review
Definitely a tourist magnet, and it really doesn’t get more central than this. The mall itself has loads of shops to explore, or you can just wander around and soak in the vibe. It’s got a unique, lively energy and is definitely worth a quick visit if you’re in the area.
Clara H — Google review
The IFS International Finance Center Chengdu is one of the city’s most famous landmarks, not only for its luxury shopping and prime location, but also for its iconic giant panda sculpture climbing the building. Created by artist Lawrence Argent, this playful yet striking installation has become a must-visit photo spot for travelers exploring Chengdu.
Coteeradej G — Google review
The luxury mall with the massive giants hanging panda on the side of the building. This spot is becoming the highlight of Chengdu city central. Many tour groups would stop by to drop off their group for this social media highlight spot. Especially during noon, this area will be packed with visitors.
Sandee T — Google review
Main attraction is just a panda structure hanging over the ifs building. Lots of people when we visited just to snap a picture or 2. Yours truly inclusive. This area reminds a lot of ginza although the latter is a lot more organized. There are other malls adjacent to this. It is pratically impossible to get a place for some sit down drinks. Did not really enjoy the visit.

The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is a renowned conservation facility that offers visitors the chance to observe giant pandas and other endangered animals. Situated about 10 kilometers from downtown Chengdu, this base covers approximately 247 acres and serves as a scientific research and breeding center, public education site, and educational tourism destination. It is dedicated to the protection and breeding of endangered Chinese wildlife such as giant pandas and red pandas. Visitors can also opt for a panda volunteering experience at the center.
This place is super impressive and super clean. Go on off season when it's not so crowded. Also know that during the summer it would be hot and the pandas will be in the indoor closures. I suggest going during the cooler season because you can see the pandas in the outdoor in the Villa areas of the park. Do know that the DD taxi drop off location is a little far from the entrance and about a 10-minute walk up a small hill. The bathroom by this location is extremely clean. That was. I was so pleasantly surprised. There's plenty of trash bins and you can get a really good sense that people really care about working there and taking care of the pandas. I highly recommend going here and making it the number one spot for your trip to tend to

amazing experience. We got to see the pandas and their babies. Unfortunately only for a small amount of time since it got hot pretty soon and pandas don't like hot temperatures. So I recommend you going there when the weather is a bit cooler. Prepare to go early in the morning. Pandas will be out for some time before they go to sleep. We arrived around 10:30 am and most of the pandas were already sleepy. It was also interesting to see the red pandas.

The Panda Breeding Center in Chengdu, China is one of the most heartwarming and unique places I’ve ever visited. It’s not just a zoo — it’s a research and conservation center where you can see giant pandas being cared for, bred, and protected in a natural, peaceful environment. The moment you enter, the atmosphere feels calm and green, surrounded by bamboo forests and clean walking paths. The pandas are the real stars here — you can see them eating bamboo, climbing trees, and even rolling around lazily. Watching baby pandas playing together is the most adorable sight imaginable!
Madan A — Google review
Absolutely incredible l. It was everything I dreamed of and more. World class zoo type place. Heaps of enclosures for different weather, full of natural elements for the animals. Stunning grounds full of beautiful forests and gardens. Amenities everywhere to meet a wide range of needs. Excellent food options, interpreter options, shuttle buses and exhibits. Had perfect cool weather, animals were very active.
Elliot P — Google review
The universe doesn’t need more proof of perfection, but here it is. Pandas eating, sleeping, and occasionally rolling downhill like fuzzy boulders. Red pandas sneaking around trees, also eating because clearly that’s a species-wide policy. And the humans? We join the cult willingly, buying panda-shaped ice cream, panda hats, panda buns. It’s not a zoo, it’s a black-and-white lifestyle brand. Even the trash bins have ears. Everywhere you look, someone’s smiling, someone’s taking 200 identical photos, and a panda’s chewing like a philosopher who’s found peace in carbohydrates. The air smells of bamboo and faint existential joy. 5/5. You don’t visit Chengdu Panda Base. You surrender to it.
Wade W — Google review
We only saw a small part of the big 25Hectare site as our hosts (the city of Chengdu as part of the UNESCO Festival of Intangible Cultural Heritage) treated us to this wonderful morning visit there. However, we did see several panda, mostly juvenile and the museum and loved both. We did not go through the main entrance so I cant comment on that but we did have a English speaking guide. If I ever go back to Chengdu (maybe) I'd love to spend a whole day there as they also have Red Panda which I love:-) This was in June so not sure if that is considered shoulder season. We were told that the wait at the most famous panda He Hua was 3 hours on the day we were there, so I guess it can get very busy there.

The Panda Research Base in Chengdu is an absolute must-see. After all, who wouldn't want to watch adorable pandas munching on bamboo and being clumsy and adorable? It's conveniently located just outside the city center and has a very affordable entry fee. My only recommendation is to do a little research beforehand; the base is huge, so knowing where you want to go will help you avoid getting lost and make the most of your time

⸻ A visit to this center is a must when in Chengdu. The giant pandas are absolutely adorable and a joy to watch. The facility is home to over 200 pandas, housed in spacious open enclosures that closely mimic their natural habitat. We visited on a particularly hot day, and since the center is quite large and requires a lot of walking, it’s best to wear comfortable shoes, bring an umbrella, and carry plenty of water. It’s a wonderful experience, especially for animal lovers and families.

Luodai Ancient Town, situated just 20 kilometers from downtown Chengdu, is a captivating glimpse into the architectural and cultural legacy of the Hakka people who settled in Sichuan centuries ago. The town's well-preserved Guild Halls are a dominant feature, showcasing elaborate designs and woodwork that narrate tales of a bygone era. Its streets boast traditional teahouses, antique shops, and local eateries along stone pavements.
The main attraction is the Hakka communal home, the 4-storey round shape building that is similar to Mulan's childhood home in the famous Disney cartoon about a Chinese heroine. There is a museum of Hakka culture and a trace of Hakka people migration to various parts of China. To get there from Chengdu by public transport, there is a BRT line K7, with a 2 RMB fare. It is a nice little ancient town on the outskirts of Chengdu that is worth a half day visit. The exact location on Google Map is "Boke Town".

Interesting place to have a walk about with plenty of street food. Very crowded when we were there on Sunday. Just be careful with the open drains as I saw a few people stepping into them. The local authorities should close them up.

Everything was closed unfortunately, the main road had some shops open. Looks like it is under renovation, good for a little walk but need to check if works are done to avoid disappointment.

The architecture is quite different than what it can be seen around, as it's specific to the Hakka tribu living at Luodai. It worths to be seen for its particular buildings.

They call it the number one Hakka town in West China. I find it fun. A lot of food. A nice getaway destination if u live in Chengdu. If u a tourist. No need tho.

If you have a lot of time in Chengdu, it's worth a day trip. You can get a taxi for about 18 dollars including the toll or the bus for about 50 cents. The town has recently been rebuilt so it's not original, but it remains a fun day out. There are lots of shops selling local Hakka snacks and crafts. There are also activities such as shooting games and trick art houses. However, it can be difficult to get back to Chengdu, it's best to get a bus as taxis are usually full when you find them. Good for families and kids.

A walk to remember This is not the typical built ancient town, it still has the old vibes although part of it is rebuilt and has plenty of stores. The walk along the street is pleasant and if one gets out of the street there's a nice park with a lake where people can walk, rent a boat or have a pick nick. It's easy to get there from Chengdu. My friends and I took two buses in total (4 rmb to get there). The bus stops at Luodai bus station and then the ancient street starts quite close from that (with hon is easy to see because it's marked as green on the map). We took buses 81 and 219 (1h30m). Luodai Golden Wall This is a must day your around Chengdu. It's super easy to get there and the views are beautiful. This wall is not as impressive as the Great Wall in Beijing but it gets close. We took three buses from Chengdu to get there (1h50m). The bus arrived to Luodai town bus station (I recommend to visit the ancient town before or after the wall), from there you can take a small bus to the beginning of the wall (it's the last stop and the ticket office is nearby). The ticket entrance is 10 rmb (no discounts for students or elders). It takes around two hours to go up and down. At the top of the wall there's a temple and the hiking isn't very strong, just rest when you feel tired. We took buses 81, 219 and 853. To go back just take the same buses but mind that the last one is at 6h30pm and the wall closes around 6pm.

Sichuan Museum is in Chengdu and can be reached through subway on Line 2, or Line 4 stop Chengdu University of TCM & Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital. (One need to walk a little from Subway stop to reach the museum). This visit was a unique experience. The museum building is based on three flours with clear layout plans and directions in both Chinese and English. However some exhibits only have description in Chinese. Entrance to the museum was free but one needs to display identity documents. The staff at the entrance was helpful and it didn’t take long to go through the security check. The museum hosts several galleries. Among all the galleries I enjoyed "Gallery of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy", dont miss it. Gallery of Sichuan Ethnic Culture, Gallery of Sichuan Embroidery, Gallery of Tibetan Buddhism are alsoa must visit. Bronze section was closed on the day I visited. Dont miss it if you are in Chengdu, Museum remains closed on Monday and public holidays.

Qingyang Palace, also known as Qingyang Monastery, is a grand Taoist shrine in Chengdu, China. It is one of the oldest and largest temples in the city, offering a serene escape from the urban bustle. The palace features notable structures such as Hunyuan Hall, Eight-Diagram Pavilion, Hall of Three Purities, and more. Visitors can admire artifacts and two striking black bronze goat statues.
Qing Yang Gong (The Green Goat Monastery) 青羊宮 is a Taoist temple with a large scale and a vast area in Chengdu 成都, which is overall quite well maintained. Before entering this Taoist temple, tourists and believers alike need to buy entrance tickets. We, the two elderly people over 60 years old, were lucky enough to enter for free🤭. After entering through the main entrance, I found that the temple hall buildings were built one after another in a rather straight line on the slightly sloping land that climbing up backward, and form a Taoist temple complex. The straight line form by these temple hall buildings were rather similar to the entire architecture of Tiananmen 天安門 complex in Beijing, reflecting that this Taoist temple hall buildings were strictly built in specific condition based on Feng Shui 風水. No wonder there is a continuous stream of believers offering incense, praying and worshiping. The incense is in full bloom and the gods appear. I don’t have a deep understanding to the statues of Taoist gods. I only recognized one statue among them which resembled Taishang Laojun 太上老君 that was enshrined on the altar in the fourth hall. I only recognized one statue among them which resembled Taishang Laojun 太上老君 that was enshrined on the altar in the fourth hall. And then I confirmed that I am correct in my personal judgment after having proof from some document source inside this temple. We came here right on the La Ba Festival 臘八節, which is the 8th day of the 12th lunar month at the end of the Dragon Year (in the early January 2025), which happened to coincide with the festival. We witnessed the free distribution of "Eight Precious Porridge 八寶粥" held by this Taoist temple during the “La Ba Festival 臘八節”, attracting many elderly and poor people, queuing up and waiting to receive the free "Eight Precious Porridge" in turns on the “La Ba Festival 臘八節”, it was so lively. We both didn't really know about "Eight Precious Porridge 八寶粥" and had never eaten it. We also queued up to get a try and finally understood that this "Eight Precious Porridge 八寶粥" turned out to be a simple gruel made from a mixture of several grains and beans. It is a delicious gruel with a special taste. After trying the "Eight Precious Porridge 八寶粥", we entered to the temple hall from the front entrance and walked through the halls one after another, offering incense and praying to the gods enshrined in each hall. We were not sure whether it was in line with the worship rituals of the local temples, and I also feel a little unfamiliar with these Taoist gods that I vaguely want to know about. We walked straight through all the shrine halls, and reached to the last that we heard the sound of chanting came from inside. It turned out that it was a group of Taoist priests and nuns who were holding a chanting class. Facing the entrance of this last shrine hall, I found that there were bronze statues on the left and right in front of the shrine hall entrance. On the left hand side of the entrance was a bronze goat, and on the right hand side there was another statue that looks like a goat but not an ordinary goat. It turns out that this is a bronze creature which is the treasure of "The Green Goat Monastery", that its whole body looks like a combination of the twelve Chinese zodiac signs.. Those combination are : Mouse ears, Cow nose, Tiger paws, Rabbit back, Dragon horns, Snake tail, Horse mouth, Sheep whiskers, Monkey neck, Chicken corns, Dog belly, ang Pig buttocks. According to legend, believers who feel uncomfortable or sick in any part of their body can eliminate the disease by touching the corresponding part of the body on the "The Green Goat". Believe it or not, it depend on you yourself ! This legend should probably be attributed to the conclusion that "if you believe it, there is it; if you don't believe it, there is nothing"! You can prove it by giving it a try ! We ended the visit at the the Martyrs Cemetery, playground and bazaar fair, with full satisfaction & happy feeling ! (070125)

Anshun Bridge, a famous landmark in Chengdu Shi, is a picturesque covered bridge that spans the Jin River. Originally built in 2003 to replace its predecessor destroyed in a flood, it has become an iconic attraction. The bridge features an upscale restaurant and is particularly stunning when illuminated at night. Visitors can also enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Jiu Yan Qiao Bar Street nearby, with its combination of bar street and Chinese ancient architecture bridge.
Anshun Bridge is a must-visit in Chengdu! The bridge lights up beautifully at night, creating a stunning reflection on the river – perfect for photos and a peaceful evening stroll. The area has a great atmosphere, with scenic views all around. There are several local pubs and restaurants along the riverside, making it a great spot to enjoy food and drinks while soaking in the view. Highly recommend coming here after sunset!

The bridge 🌉 is spectacular when the lights are on. The walkway along the bridge is also quite happening with a live band in most of the eatery. It's comfortable dining & drinking at this spot while viewing the beauty of lights.
Cher O — Google review
Got ourselves a table at the bar’s outdoor seating to enjoy the change in scenery from daylight to night time, and was treated to quite a majestic view. 💡 the bridge lighted up around Google Map’s sunset timing despite the sun not fully set yet, which brings about a different kind of view leading into the night time. 🌉 the naming convention of the bridge apparently changed after it was rebuilt in 2002 (According to some reviews online), from Nine Eye Bridge to the current Anshun Bridge - hence the difference in names across different platforms and sources. Definitely a spot to come by and enjoy the bridge with the lights up and admire how this huge structure sits atop a river 😊

Vibrant place to come at night. Bars along the river are a great place to hang out on a warm evening, with the bridge lit up beautifully. Watch out for the pandas though- they want money! Lots of hawkers and stalls, everything from souvenirs to ear cleaning! 😅😅

(Translated by Google) I visited the Daci Temple in Chengdu this morning, when it opened. I must say the experience was engaging, even though part of the temple was under renovation. The structure is quite large and includes several small temples, each with its own history and charm. What particularly struck me was the devotees' prayers, which I had the pleasure of witnessing. The Daci Temple is an ancient and important Buddhist place of worship, dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). Its traditional architecture and colorful frescoes make it a unique and fascinating place. However, I can't help but notice that the presence of designer boutiques in the area next to the temple seems a bit out of place. It's as if the commercial side has taken precedence over the spirituality and history of the place. I feel like this is an example of how business can influence even the most sacred places of worship. Despite this, I still recommend visiting the Daci Temple for its historical and cultural importance. I hope that the renovation will restore the temple to its former glory and that the spirituality of the place will not be forgotten in the race for profit.

It is a very interesting museum about the food of Sichuan. There are displays and exhibits about how bean paste (the soul of Sichuan food) is made, and how soy sauce is made. There are also activity centers and live demonstrations. There is a courtyard full of stalls that is an "all you can eat" concept, that allows you to try all sorts of Sichuan food. It is an interesting and fun concept, but unfortunately a lot of the food was not good in quality, and the seating area was also very dirty.

I loved the we got to dress up as cooks and prepared the famous chicken Sichuan style. That was quite an experience. However our tour guide in the museum was speaking way too fast and for some of our group it was difficult to follow her instructions while cooking. I also did not like the tour she gave us. It was very speedy and not very interesting, to be honest. Things which we found interesting and asked about- she couldn't answer. At least she was honest about it and didn't give us some misinformation. I still give this place 4 Stars though because if you will explore it on your own or you get lucky with your tour guide- this place is definitely worth visiting!

What a wonderful way to get to know the local cuisine and history behind the food. The museum tour was enjoyable. Sampling the "snacks" was a joy as they were tasty and abundant. The cooking class was a lot of fun and educational. Expect to have your photos taken by a museum employee then emailed to you. We left with our stomachs full and smiles on our faces. I recommend this to any level of food enthusiast. Chili paste and other small gift items are available for sale near the soy sauce and chili paste vats.

Amazingly friendly service and experience! Our personal guide and chef teacher, Molly, took me and my girlfriend on a nice little historical journey on Sichuan cooking, then we went to pray at the Kitchen God, before finally on to the main cooking event! Molly and the assistant chefs (yes, there were 3-4 assistant chefs just waiting on us, despite being a group of 2), where we cooked kung pao chicken, ma po tofu, and panda dumpling desserts. Everything was so clean and well prepared that although this was my *first time cooking anything* it came out delicious and the experience really moved me. At the end, after eating our dinner in private within the gardens, Molly and the Executive Chef presented us a fun little award ceremony as rookie chefs. Then Molly personally walked us to the bus station and waited until we boarded. My girlfriend and I both feel so touched. This is without a doubt the best cooking experience ever!

Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street, located in the heart of Chengdu, is a bustling commercial hub that covers approximately 20 hectares. This lively area is known for its vibrant mix of food, entertainment, and leisure activities. It's a must-visit destination for those looking to immerse themselves in the city's dynamic culture. The street boasts an array of shops and restaurants, making it one of the busiest commercial streets in China.
Walking out from the subway station in the IFS Financial Center (國際金融中心), we crossed the road in front of it, and came to Chun Xi Road (春熙路), a famous business area in Chen Du (成都). This Chun Xi Road - the first new road in Chen Du was built in 1924. It has a long 100 years history of progress in Chen Du. It has grown and developed to the current prosperity after the decades along the years since it was built. Being in this street, we feels like that we are walking around at the Orchard Road in Singapore. But the obvious differences between is, Chun Xi Road is more complete, well planned and fast developed, very eye-catching and comfortable. We can see that there are many imported and domestic non-food high-end luxury & branded products. Of course, the existence of noble restaurants is also indispensable here, as well as some global franchise stores. There is also a 4 stars hotel with a long history too, that is Chun Xi Hotel, which is founded in 1924. It is located at the centre - the Central Courtyard of Chun Xi Road area. The current front look of this building looks a little old without any modernized touch or proper maintainance touch. Compared with the front look of some nearby newly built similar star-rated hotels, it is a bit lost. But anyhow, ChunXi road is really a good destination we should come to visit when we are in ChenDu. (040125/x)

Chunxi Road was newly built and named in 1924, and is known as the Centennial Golden Street. The bustling area is about 20 hectares. It is home to a variety of specialty stores of many brands, as well as many Chinese time-honored shopping malls, as well as large shopping malls and hotels.

After checking into our hotel in Chengdu, our first mission was to explore and find a good place to eat. One of the top recommendations we received was Chunxi Road Pedestrian Street. Though it was a bit far from our hotel, we took a Didi and headed there — and it did not disappoint. Chunxi Road is a vibrant and bustling area filled with hundreds of shops and eateries, featuring both local delights and many well-known international brands. It’s quite similar to other famous pedestrian streets in China, such as Nanjing Road in Shanghai or Beijing Road in Guangzhou. But it’s not just about shopping — it’s a place to taste delicious food, rest, people-watch, and simply enjoy the vibe. You’re spoiled for choice, whether you’re looking for street snacks, casual bites, or stylish cafés. And for photo enthusiasts, the area offers plenty of Instagram-worthy spots. Don’t miss Taikoo Li, a stylish section of the area that features mostly international luxury and designer brands, all set in a beautifully designed open-air mall that blends modern and traditional Sichuan architecture. Whether you’re here for shopping, food, or just to take in the local energy, Chunxi Road is definitely worth the trip.

The supermart is spacious, bright and clean and it carried a wide range of food and merchandise and household products. Prices were generally higher than the normal shops but still cheap (considering the exchange rate) and as it was past 7.30pm, the supermart was quite empty as it's dinner time. Yulin Comprehensive Market is a prominent food market in Chengdu, offering a wide variety of goods such as spices, fruits, dry products, vegetables, and meat. The market exudes a friendly and laid-back ambiance with numerous food stalls and restaurants that are perfect for enjoying a meal. It's an ideal place to experience the local culture of Chengdu while satisfying your culinary curiosities.
My childhood memories, a great place for anyone who wants to get know about the city culture of Chengdu!
Staple W — Google review
To begin with, I will share the pics of this place once this review is approved as TA does not allow the first reviewer to upload photos. I am not sure why. We visited this local market to try to see and experience locals lifestyle and way of living. The market is spacious and quite clean. There are food stalls selling local delicacies and also a wet market behind (and a sundry foods section on the second floor), selling all kinds of daily foods from meats to poultry to veggies, fruits and fresh flowers and plants etc. This is the market only locals know and its good to be here to try the nice and yummy local street foods. Things were generally cheap. Just next to the market is an open market where many seniors gather over a game of chess or chitchatting. But there are many wild dogs running around and although they do not bite, they would follow you especially when you are carrying food!

Du Fu Thatched Cottage, located in Chengdu, is a memorial to the renowned poet who resided there during the Tang Dynasty. After fleeing to Chengdu in 759 following the An-Shi rebellion, he penned over 240 poems that are now treasured national works. The site offers insight into his life and work. In addition to this historical gem, visitors can explore other attractions such as Kuanzhai Alley and Jinsha Site Museum within Chengdu city.
Du Fu Cottage in Chengdu is a tranquil oasis perfect for a reflective walk. The lush gardens and historic structures offer a peaceful escape. Highly recommended for those seeking a serene and cultural experience.
B P — Google review
Unless you’re familiar with Du Fu’s poems, you’re here for the lush greenery and well kept park. And I was very surprised by the number of famous personalities who have visited the grounds. In Singapore, we’re probably more familiar with Li Bai, not Du Fu because of our secondary school text. But since they were close like brothers, it piqued my interest and I went searching for his poems. I was also happy to see marble statues of Li Bai, Du Fu and Su Tong Po. And we went searching for his thatched cottage.
HC L — Google review
Du Fu Thatched Cottage in Hanoi is a cultural spot inspired by the famous Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu’s original retreat in Chengdu, China. While it is not the actual historical site, the Hanoi version has been created as a quiet place of reflection and appreciation for classical poetry, literature, and traditional Chinese-style garden design. Visitors will find a charming layout featuring pavilions, water elements, and landscaped greenery that echo the simplicity and elegance associated with Du Fu’s writings. The site feels tucked away from the city’s usual bustle, offering a rare sense of stillness where travelers can pause, read, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. Interpretive boards and displays help contextualize the poet’s life and works, making the visit both educational and contemplative. For photographers, the best time to visit is early morning when the light is soft and the grounds are still empty. Details like carved woodwork, tiled roofs, and the reflections in ponds provide excellent compositional opportunities. Close-up shots of architectural features pair well with wider frames capturing the garden’s serenity. While the site may not be large, its calm and literary spirit make it a worthwhile stop for those seeking something different in Hanoi—especially travelers interested in poetry, history, and tranquil photography settings.

Enjoyed the visit. It's free and you need to get a ticket from the counter by showing your passport. Locals enter using their national ID card. Upon entering, it's 5 levels of exhibition halls. It's a lot to take in and you can spend half the day or more here to view the interesting displays. We missed their seasonal exhibitions with different themes each time. Looks really good. The curators, artisans and staff take great pride in their work. Their attention to detail is amazing. Look at the miniature diorama they set up of silk trading alley. Amazingly detailed. You can make out what vegetables are being sold, you can make out the art scrolls being sold by the vendor and you can even count the individual mulberry leaves in the bamboo trays, usually used to house and feed the silk worms 🐛🐛🐛. You can even tell what they having for a meal at the restaurant table. Take the time to read the information cards. It's enlightening. So many similarities between the cultures of ancient Egypt and Chengdu China, like for example the funerary ⚰️📿 traditions and beliefs. The ceramics and porcelains are astounding too. Plus lots of souvenirs to buy. You have been warned. 🤣🤣

While it provides an excellent shopping experience, visitors should be aware that not all stores accept Visa or Mastercard, so it's advisable to have enough Chinese yuan on hand. This department store is known for its diverse selection of quality goods, making it a great place for some retail therapy.
Very modern mall in chongqing, has most major brands. Note not all stores accept Visa / master so make sure you take enough rmb with you

I originally came after seeing all the posts on Dianping about 90%-off clothing, but when I arrived, there was no sign of those giant bargain halls—just a fairly traditional department store! The merchandise also leaned noticeably toward older demographics. Although the mall is newly renovated, the displays and layout still give off strong 1990s retro vibes. There were almost more staff than customers in the entire building. But it wasn’t just the old-fashioned products—even the restrooms were poorly designed. For example, instead of having toilet paper dispensers in each stall, there was just one shared roll placed in the public area, with paper always pulled out and left hanging messily! There also wasn’t a trash can under the paper towel dispenser—highly inconvenient. After drying their hands, customers had no idea where to throw the towel. After looking around helplessly, they’d have to find a stall to toss it in. How utterly anti-human! The soap in the dispenser was so diluted with water it wouldn’t even lather ‼️ And it was almost empty! Cleaning staff were walking around nearby, yet not one came to refill it—they simply turned a blind eye! Some of the faucets had extremely weak water pressure! This stinginess stood in stark contrast to the luxurious exterior decor—a classic case of "all that glitters is not gold"! Every empty mall has its internal reasons. When you neglect the basics—like service and facilities—no amount of glamorous packaging can make up for it. It’s like putting the cart before the horse.

Many locations in Chengdu are surprisingly missing from Google Maps, and even after adding them, they still don't appear. Google map got serious problems in adding new locations!!! Even this hair salon chain, with dozens of outlets, doesn’t have a single one listed. I have no choice but to find a nearest store to drop a review. What I comment is this one see image 2. The discounted price for a haircut (in dianping app), wash, and blow-dry at this salon is incredibly attractive—probably the most competitive in the town. With numerous branches available, customers have plenty of convenient locations to choose from. For tourists visiting Tianfu Red Mall, this salon is a great option, located right on B1. It’s also a reliable choice for lady/gal who just want a trim and aren’t too concerned about elaborate styling. The stylists here are very attentive and prioritize customer preferences, thoroughly discussing the desired hairstyle and length—even down to 1cm. The style I got is similar to the one in Picture 1, though possibly shorter. It’s a low-maintenance cut that doesn’t require daily styling—just throw on a baseball cap, and you’re good to go. It’s perfect for those with a busy schedule! For customers who don’t rely on their looks for work, the results at this salon are more than satisfactory. When I went on a weekday afternoon, the salon was noticeably busier than others, but fortunately, there was no wait. Plus, the package price includes a wash and blow-dry, making it one of the most competitively priced salons in the city. 💈 If only such competitive salons could open in Singapore! One drawback is the issue with loose hair clippings. The clippings weren’t adequately managed, and many fell onto customers, which made cleanup quite a hassle. Unfortunately, one tiny piece of hair ended up in my eye and was impossible to remove, causing discomfort for an entire week before it resolved itself. I hope they improve their handling of these finer details in the future.

(Translated by Google) Now, if you don't know, finding the toilet in a shopping mall is torture, friends, but the only thing we will know as a standard is that the toilets are always in the worst place in the shopping malls. Apart from that, it is not a bad mall, but if you expect cheap prices in China, your address should not be the shopping malls. The prices are not much different from here.
