The 37 best museums in Porto Alegre

A very big place. I am sure there are times where it merits more than the three stars i am giving it. But unfortunately the art that was displayed during our visit was underwhelming and disappointing. It fid seem like the place that would hold different exhibitions and always change what it holds as seasons pass, so i can't judge it more harshly.

When I went it was filled almost completely with modern art, which is not my cup of tea. Building is beautiful though.

Very lovely place, indeed. As for only regional level very progressive. A bit even reminded me Tiger Art at Buenos Aires, but more like Tate Modern in London.

Gorgeous building in a green calm square of this surprisingly beautiful city. Building is full of great architectural details and european influences of XIX C and a fabulous modern eclectic yet fascinating exhibits. A fairly relax atmosphere.

One of the most enchanting and unassuming museums I have ever been to charting the history of Porto Alegre, and in particular Rio Grande do Sul in its finest details regarding wars and settlement. Not to be missed. Above all a free entry Museum one will be more than willing to pay for.Perhaps the most fascinating exhibits of early amerindian art i.e. masks and pottery I have ever seen. The museum itself is not particularly impressive, but the building is really nice and somewhat unique among all the surrounding high-rises. There is little to connect or contextualise the various objects, but in a way there are also some signs of care in the way the whole thing is kept.

Nice place to go for a short walk and some pictures, but not that great. The lake toward the back of the park is nice. All of the interesting places are restricted access only. The tickets are cheap to get in though, maybe worth visiting once.

I used to come here with my family ( mom and dad) when I was younger, it was so nice and peaceful, I loved seeing the fish ponds, the birds all over the place. It’s a beautiful place and great for hiking, but also is great for just relaxing, getting a blanket and sitting on the grass and reading a good book, or even for having a picnic with friends and/or family, the kids will enjoy exploring the whole area. I loved this place since I was 3 years old and now, I’m looking forward to bringing my own kids there soon. 💚💚💚💚💚
