Authentic Japanese restaurant
Hakata Ikkousha Tonkotsu Ramen Costa Mesa is a cozy Japanese spot with a stylish, wood-paneled interior that serves hearty ramen soup bowls. The menu is simple to navigate, and the service is minimal but in line with the self-service trend at ramen shops. The "Mentai Tonkotsu" Ramen and "Black Tonkotsu Ramen" are recommended choices, and there's an option for special toppings.
One of the best ramen’s I had recently. Definitely a try ! This is an authentic place, menu is simple, you get to choose your dish, consistency of broth, spice level, thickness of noodles and your add ons .
M.Ali M — Google review
One of my favorite ramen shops in OC! The shop is small and tucked into a little shopping plaza in Costa Mesa. Parking can be tricky when it’s busy, but the times I’ve gone with my BF, we haven’t had any issues. The vibe inside is cozy and no-frills, with that delicious ramen aroma greeting you as soon as you walk in. You fill out your order on a sheet at the table, and there are photos of the menu to help you decide. Once your order's in, service is fast—your ramen comes out piping hot in no time. My go-to is the Black Devil—a bold mix of the God Fire and Black Tonkotsu broths. I usually get level 2 spicy, which hits the perfect balance of heat and flavor without overwhelming the rich broth. It’s honestly one of the only ramen bowls where I slurp up every last drop. That deep garlic flavor from the black oil, the spice, the creamy tonkotsu base—chef’s kiss. The noodles have the perfect bite, and the chashu is always tender and packed with flavor. Sometimes my boyfriend and I order the gyoza too—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and a perfect appetizer to kick things off. If you’re into intense, flavorful ramen with a kick, this place is a must. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area—especially if you're a spicy ramen lover like me!
Isabella L — Google review
I visited this ramen restaurant on July 20th and had a disappointing experience with their gyoza. The first plate had a long hair in it, and the replacement we had was raw inside. When we asked if it was safe to eat, the chef assured us that it was fine because the pork was fresh. Unfortunately, after one of us ate one, they admitted it was undercooked, which led to severe stomach pain and a visit to urgent care. This was especially disappointing because we are frequent customers, and this is the first time we’ve had such a negative experience. Sadly, we didn’t even receive an apology. I hope they improve their service and food safety standards in the future.
Yamamoto A — Google review
I came here looking forward to a good Tonkotsu ramen, but I was very disappointed. I’ve had Tonkotsu ramen at dozens of ramen shops, and my partner and I both agreed this tasted (and looked) like chicken broth. We first thought we were served the wrong item, but there was nothing else on the menu it could have reasonably been. I ended up only eating half of it and was very disappointed. The broth tasted nothing like creamy tonkotsu, and instead tasted just like the chicken broth I get at the grocery store. If you’ve had tonkotsu ramen before, you can also see it doesn’t look like the normal broth - it’s too dark and not creamy looking. Wish I had gone somewhere else for ramen, especially at this price.
Gabrielle S — Google review
I have no idea what those bad reviewers are talking about. I came here because I loved the Torrance location and was hoping for a repeat experience. This place is great! The food is delicious, the servers very nice and very attentive and the atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for having a nice family dinner. I would come again and recommend this place . Posted are some pictures I captured , looks empty here but it was very busy for dinner :)

After finding good ramen shop in Irvine, this place was the last try. Not bad but I felt little expensive.

Ramen cooked good but too salty for us We checked light however it was still salty
Purozack — Google review
The noodles were chewy and perfectly cooked. The broth was very flavorful but a little salty. I thought it was just me but I did see a customer order hot water to dilute the soup. But overall, it was delicious!

Ramen Zetton is a cozy, trendy ramen eatery that serves generous portions of flavorful noodle soup and innovative Japanese dishes. With an underrated reputation, this hidden gem attracts both vegans and meat lovers alike. The vegan options are particularly impressive, earning praises from Japanese patrons who found them even more satisfying than their meat-based counterparts. Personally, the experience was delightful, relishing every last drop of the scrumptious broth.
Twas a first time visiting this underrated gem 💎 ramen noodle shop! I was with a group of Japanese who wanna try vegan experiences and they enjoyed the ramen very much! They also tried meat based but still they enjoyed it a lot. A few even said it’s better than meat one! I think that’s a good compliment for it! I personally loved it and I drunk even the last drop of the soup! Come for those who are vegan/vegetarian and enjoy plant based! Cheers 🥂

Open pretty late at night and definitely a joint to hit of you are hungry late. They serve night specials for fried rice at a very reasonable price. Ramen portions are not large, but more in the Medium size realm. You can choose your toppings and add-ons when you order. There are different choices from vegetarian to pork. Great to eat with friends and groups.
GP C — Google review
Honestly, I've hesitated to review this place for years because it's my favorite ramen joint and I never wanted it to get more crowded. But with them finally being open again on the regular, after I thought they were gone forever? I want this hidden gem to succeed and thrive! The food here is outstanding. There's no other way to put it. No matter what you order, it's fresh, flavorful, and just plain perfect. Yes, I'm a white dude from the east coast, so YMMV; but if you like perfectly-caramelized chashu or heavenly, tender chicken, rich broths with delicate, complex flavoring, and exquisitely-cooked noodles, you'll be happy here. Perhaps most notably, RZ also offers exceptional vegan ramen - not a sad-by-comparison afterthought, but multiple (!) carefully-concocted brews that will knock the socks off anyone, vegan or not. Feed your veg friends here for a rare surprise. Other spots just can't compare. I haven't eaten inside the restaurant since before covid, because that's not within my personal risk tolerance. (It was actually the last restaurant where I ate indoors - I had to get that one last bowl in!) But I know that they currently have plexi barriers between tables, and they tend to keep the door open for air circ. Staff mask adherence is probably as good as it is at any other OC food establishment. Staff demeanor is, as always, gracious, attentive, and friendly. They don't pick up the phone, and they don't have an ordering website, so just go there and order. I heard today that they're only open for lunch at the moment - hopefully they'll re-open dinner service soon. Portions are sizable, an order of ramen often makes two meals for me. Even so, get some fried rice for the fridge, if they have it, and thank me later. 👨🏻‍🍳🤌🏻🌟

I've been looking for these flavors since I visited Tokyo on my honeymoon. Delicious pork cutlet with curry. Place was great. Parking is easy. Atmosphere is perfect for a business lunch.
Shaun S — Google review
Oh no the Tsukemen is finye from their menu! The ramen broths are still great tasting.
Christopher Y — Google review
It's a great hidden gem. Ramen here is always amazing. Extremely nice and hospitable service. A bit on the slower side but none the less still always awesome.
Giovanny V — Google review
A very unique ramen establishment considering all of the other ramen restaurants in the local area. They offer several types of broth, none that follow the typical flavor profile you'd expect from common ramen. For example, chicken broth is an option, which is actually fairly rare to encounter. Also, they use an incredible amount of dashi (fish flavor), which could actually turn people away from it (I like it a lot). Their pork bowl is more saucy and has less meat with more vegetables. Even the interior, from my observation, is intentionally antiquated to maintain the historic vibe. Definitely going to return here and try the many different options available, including Curry rice.
Gi K — Google review
Avoid the lines elsewhere and checkout this chill place. Cool vibe. Lots of good appetizers. I didn't like the miso tan tan, but the veggie broth was good

3Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai - Irvine

Ramen restaurant

Japanese restaurant
Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai in Irvine is a popular Japanese brand known for its unique twist on traditional ramen. The broth is lighter in color and flavor, while the noodles are crimped and the chashu is perfectly cooked and sliced. Their fried chicken, or karaage, is a must-try along with their home-brewed barley tea. This outpost marks the chain's first location in America, adding to its 60 existing spots in Japan.
I had just finished work in Irvine and was craving ramen, so I looked up some options. Most of the results were Hakata ramen, but I wasn’t in the mood for something so rich. Among all the choices, the one that caught my eye was this Kitakata ramen. Kitakata ramen originates from Kitakata City in Fukushima Prefecture and is known as one of Japan’s three great ramen styles (Sapporo, Kitakata, and Hakata). The soup is typically soy sauce-based, made with pork bones, dried sardines, and chicken stock, giving it a light yet flavorful taste. The noodles are thick and wavy, with a chewy texture that holds the broth well. In Kitakata, there is a culture of “morning ramen”, where many ramen shops open early in the morning. I believe this contributes to the unique style of Kitakata ramen. Being pregnant and extremely picky about food right now, this ramen was a perfect match for my cravings. The matcha cheesecake for dessert was also delicious. Finding this kind of ramen in the U.S. is rare, and as a Japanese person, I was deeply satisfied. I will definitely be coming back.
Akari E — Google review
Surprisingly good and interesting twists on your usual ramen spot. It was tasty, reasonably priced and had large portions. The chicken karaage had this amazing crispy rice flour type of coating that was really good. I loved the green chili shio ramen as well. I would definitely go back.
Jen Y — Google review
This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Irvine. The clear broth and chewy noodles are absolutely fantastic. Their summer special, Hiyashi Ramen, is also refreshing and pairs perfectly with all the fresh vegetables. If I ever move back to Korea, I would seriously consider coming back to Irvine just to have this ramen again.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
박성진 — Google review
Enjoyed both the started and the main course! The treatment from the waiter was good 👍🏻 and the service once inside was fast. Only issue is that they were full and made us wait for 20 minutes outside under the warm California weather. Also… for that price I would expect more food!
Juan C — Google review
The service is terrible, and you still have the nerve to ask for tips. Fifteen dollars for a bowl of noodles that doesn’t even fill you up! Not even an egg! The service is awful — no greeting when you walk in, just two eyes staring at you. They serve the food without giving chopsticks, and the waiter doesn’t even speak a word. This kind of service is absolute garbage. Japanese service is total trash!
Jason S — Google review
Clean and delicious. Was seated quickly, ordered green chili ramen. Broth and noodles were tasty and will be back to sample other items. I like the open kitchen. Recommended ramen spot.
Alex R — Google review
Some of the best ramen I've had in Irvine. The service was fast and friendly. We sat at the bar to avoid a wait for tables. Come give this place a try.
Jim V — Google review
There has definitely been a change in the flavor of the soup since they opened. Despite that, we still enjoy the texture of their ramen because we love the noodles. The taste of their soup is okay, but I am obsessed with the kids menu that they offer! I was pleased with the portion of the kid's ramen and you get a side of karage (fried chicken), edamame, a side of ramen toppings, and rice with the seaweed as well. I recently went back couple of times to eat here. And the soup flavor got way better!! The soup and noodles are delious!

Bluefin is a popular eatery in Newport Beach, known for its fast service and creative Japanese cuisine. Since 2006, it has been cherished by the local community. The restaurant offers stunning ocean views and a modern setting with a beautiful waterfall feature. Renowned chef Takashi Abe leads the culinary team, focusing on traditional sushi showcased in omakase, cold plate, sushi, and specialty rolls. Additionally, the menu features hot appetizers and signature dishes like Chilean sea bass.
This place is the best sushi restaurant in Orange County. It is located in the Crystal Cove Promenade shopping center. So fresh and exquisite. Every mouthful is so delectable. Must try and worth the drive. Enjoy the beautiful coastline. The sushi chefs here are the best. So friendly and they really take pride in what they do. The staff is attentive and fills your water without asking.

I live in Las Vegas. Any time I'm in Orange County, you'll find me here at least once. This is the finest sushi I've eaten. Period. Bluefin carpacio and crispy rice are in the pictures. The eel was too tempting to waste time on photos...lol
Michael S — Google review
This is my favorite go to sushi spot. Amazing service. Great menu. Fresh and delicious fish. My favorite menu items are the tempura crab claws, the toro nigiri and their handrolls. Eating at the sushi bar is the most fun because you can see their professionalism and expertise close up which is a great experience. A gem for Newport and Laguna!
David R — Google review
I always come to eat sushi when I eat real Japanese style sushi in LA. This location is amazing. Fresh fish & nice service. You should try this restaurant. 😄

Save room for dessert, and order the mocchi ice cream! You will enjoy clean, fresh, authentic Japanese cuisine at Bluefin. Upon entrance, you will notice the cleanliness of the restaurant and the uniformed, professional sushi chefs. The staff were kind and polite, especially Gregory, allowing us to dine in at 8:30 pm even though they close at 9:00 pm during weekdays. Indoor/Outdoor/Bar seating: Plenty of seating at this location. We sat inside. Delicious Food: Clean, fresh and flavorful. Ordered the mushroom miso soup with shiitake mushroom, grilled salmon with grilled vegetable, teriyaki sauce, wagyu beef carpaccio with onions, chive, goma-soy dressing, sesame seed, albacore dynamite roll, salmon avocado roll, and mochi ice cream. Loved everything. Excellent Service: Gregory, Jason and Raymond were professional, kind and attentive during our dining experience and each interaction. Parking: Free parking in parking lot. Valet parking is also available but it is closer to Javier's, so free parking is the better option. I highly recommend this restaurant for a clean, fresh, authentic Japanese dining experience, and thank you, Gregory, Jason and Raymond for a memorable experience!

Exceptional!!! Fresh authentic Japanese sushi. Beautiful view. Even miso soup is red miso soup. Haven’t seen that since I left Japan. 🥲
Kaori T — Google review
Came here for restaurant week and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the plating and variety of flavors in the dishes for an amazing $45 value. They showed a creativity in using unexpected traditional ingredients to create dishes outside of the typical sushi and sashimi. The sushi itself was pretty average but for the money it was an incredible deal and experience.
Sylvia S — Google review
Was working in Newport Beach and decided to take a lunch break felt like some sushi. Found this place on yelp decided to try it. A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for especially when it comes to sushi. This sushi was so delicious so fresh. The presentation on the plate was perfect. The sushi itself was soft and buttery and texture and everything I ordered was just excellent. The atmosphere inside and outside was great. I decided to sit in the outside patio with ocean views. If you’re in Newport Beach and looking for delicious sushi spot this is the place

Tokyo Table is a trendy Japanese restaurant that offers a unique dining experience. The menu features classic Japanese dishes with innovative twists, such as spicy tuna rolls wrapped in rice paper and bacon-wrapped asparagus skewers. One of their standout creations is the sushi pizza, and they also serve donburi in stone bowls. The drink menu includes an extensive selection of sakes and specially crafted cocktails. While the prices may be on the higher side, the restaurant's creative offerings make it worth a visit.
I noticed that someone removed my review on this restaurant. Not sure who did it and why?!!!! I need an explanation from the google map team. I was at this restaurant several times and I had great time here. So, my feedback was positive. I start thinking that someone is messing with me and i don’t appreciate it. This restaurant has great foods. I liked their pineapple drink and their specialty rolls. It’s hard to find my previous photos and I can’t remember what I ordered and upload them. Also, after getting new phone, some of the images are gone. It’s been a while. Do not MESS with me and my reviews!! If you do it again on purpose, I hope you suffer and go to hell.

Just tried out a new place in Irvine with family. The vibe was great with excellent environment. The foods were good nothing was special. My dish was chicken and it was delicious and different compared to other places. It was soft and juicy, they have all kinds of sauces and chili sauces to try out. Sushi and cod dish were average. The servers were friendly and attentive. The prices were $$$ and a little bit pricey. Can’t blame them cuz it is located in Irvine and at jamboree surrounding. Anyway, maybe would try again with their other specialty later on. Came right the time of dinner therefore it started getting busier at this place.
Jimmy T — Google review
If all my reviews are positive then what good is a review. If I can be honest here goes. To start the wine here is corked - do not order it. I don't think the servers are trained and your best bet is a beer. If this is Irvines Sushi Spot then it might be the most uninspiring. The sushi taste like it's been in the refrigerator for weeks. It's nothing worth speaking about. What Tokyo Table has succeeded in is Decor and the Marketing. Where it fails is in wine, food, and service. Not that the waiters hired are mean they infact are kind. It's just when you visit other places that claim 4 stars you see the difference. This place is a a two maybe even a one star Sushi place. You can see we're cutting corners to save money is noticeable in the food. What can I say.... it's like ... Meh and there are just so many other places.
Alejandro M — Google review
staff was really nice and friendly. icon didn't have much flavor. menus seems like they degraded and in bad conditions... the salmon citrus roll was real good, but it feels so little...

I’m very disappointed. This is my first time eating here since they’ve been under new management. The food is not good, the portions are smaller and many items have been removed from the Chicken Katsu Curry dinner. I will not eat here again nor will I recommend it to friends and family. This plate and place was once my favorite. The price has gone up significantly and the quality and quantity has decreased greatly.
N S — Google review
Nestled at the back of Irvine's Diamond Plaza, at Tokyo Table you will find a relaxed atmosphere with delicious food! Full bar and happy hour menu available for a little after-work festivities 😁 We tried the pineapple mojito and lychee mojito 🍹 My party had the miso soup, crunchy shrimp roll and assorted tempura (shrimp and chef's choice of veggies) as starters. A good start 👌 Mains included Chicken Katsu (not pictured), Garlic Shrimp Mahalo Style, and Miso Glazed Black Cod. The Chicken Katsu came with the sauce on the side, allowing the chicken to remain crispy until ready to take that bite! The Garlic Shrimp was delicious and for me, turned into 2 servings.... And the Miso Glazed Black Cod was light and flaky with a sweet flavor. Rounded off with the meal with Honey Toast. Toasted bread cubes served in a box of bread with Honey and ice cream. Light desert after our meal. If you haven't been here before, I recommend it. They have a great selection of sushi as well 🍣
Melissa L — Google review
One of the best Japanese resto, legit the taste of their foods, highly recommended their Tonkotsu Ramen & takoyaki, plus our server Alex is the best. Definitely, we will come back.
Acrit — Google review
The food here is not bad. Not my favorite but can't beat the price. Out of all the dishes, I think the kalbi is the best. Takoyaki is not bad, it's tender and juicy. The broth of the tonkotsu ramen is on the thick side but not that flavorful. But overall, is good for the price. **Checkout Insta @mrakusuma for more recommended places to eat***

Fukada is a modern Japanese restaurant located in Irvine, CA, offering a diverse menu that includes soba and udon noodles as well as meat and fish entrees. The restaurant has gained popularity for its dedication to traditional cooking methods, fresh ingredients, and a blend of classic and contemporary dishes. Chef Fukada's expertise in crafting his own buckwheat noodles and fresh soup each morning has earned the restaurant praise for serving some of the best noodles in Orange County.
I was recommended my a friend and absolutely love it here! The prices are very reasonable and the food quality and portions are great. The seafood salad is one of my favorites. Huuuge thick slices of tuna and salmon tataki's with a classic wafu dressing. Their unagi don is awesome too and is such a great combo with the seafood salad. The unagi is cooked to perfection and is very fresh and not super boney. Love the fact that you have the options to choose between white and brown rice! The tatsuta age (fried chicken) was great as well. Nicely seasoned and juicy! The udon they use is on the thinner side and I abosolutely loooove it. Super yummy. Also, this isn't pictured but I bought a salmon teriyaki plate to take home and I am obsessed. The salmon was sooo large and thick and the teriyaki sauce was perfect! It's takeout/eat in service at the moment and I have no complaints! Order first and then grab a table. Quick and easy. Definitely recommend!!

Their food is authentic! Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared, bursting with fresh ingredients and rich flavors. Tempura don ($15) and California roll ($7.50) with fresh salad and miso soup. Quick wait time (~10mins) at 7PM on a weekday. All orders are placed to-go but tables are open if you want to eat there. Food exceeded expectations for the price, tempura veggies especially. Friendly staff. Would visit again!

I was recommended from a friend who lives in the Irvine area to come try Fukada for a meal and it did not disappoint! The prices are reasonable and the food quality and portion sizes were amazing. Just a heads up, I recommend calling ahead to confirm the price, as prices are different in-store from Yelp! I got the Noodle Combination, which consisted of Tanuki Udon and the Spicy Tuna Don. It came with a bowl of freshly made udon that was so chewy, and it came with crunchy tempura flakes that added to. The broth was so clean and flavorful too. The Spicy Tuna Don did not disappoint either. It's prepared the day of and I could tell; the tuna was so fresh and had just the right amount of spice, and it came with a decently sized portion of rice with it. I was so full but luckily all of the food come in to-go containers so it was easy to take home and enjoy the next day. If you're ever in the Irvine area, I highly recommend stopping by Fukada! Parking is really easy and the restaurant is very clean! I'll be sure to stop by again when I'm in Irvine!

best udon. come at lunch and get a noodle combo for less than $20, insane value.

$8 Udon in Irvine, heck yes!!! My husband took me here cause he used to go frequently when he lived in the area. It was delicious!! There is plenty of parking, dine in can happen if you are ok with take out bowls and utensils (due to a shortage of employees, they cannot serve anyone like a restaurant), and there is water available. I ordered the simple udon with tempura flakes that included spinach and it was amazing! The best part was how affordable it was!! I tried my husband’s warm soba noodle soup and egg and chicken with rice. It was all so good!! Would definitely come back here and recommend it to many! It’s just a shame that so much dine in plastic containers are being used and wasted.

I lived in Tokyo for three years so I was searching for good Japanese food. Fukada delivered! I went before they opened on a weekday and joined the queue of people waiting. I sat at the bar and ordered gyoza and katsudon. The katsudon came with a salad and miso soup, which is a great deal. Everything was delicious! I went back another day for dinner around 6pm and was seated immediately. I tried the oyakodon that time and it was also very good, though I prefer the katsudon. This place is going to be a regular spot for me!

Cafe Hiro is a Japanese restaurant that blends the flavors of Japan, Italy, and France. The dishes range from sea urchin uni spaghetti to salmon spring rolls and are all highly recommended by diners. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere which makes it perfect for date night or any other occasion.
Been here a couple times and the food is good. Consistent with the food and service. Very friendly and quick food service orders. Haven’t been here when it’s packed which is good to be seated within minutes and ready to eat. The fusion options are pretty cool and different from other similar type of restaurants. The restrooms are clean and tidy which is a super plus.

Chose to have the omakase dinner which is served family style ($46 per person). The package includes three appetizers (we chose - scallops carpaccio (thinly sliced radish on top of scallops topped with shiso leaf and drizzled with mustard vinaigrette) - steak Tataki over sliced red onions - served with grated radish, chives and a soy dressing - calamari with very flavorful herbed salt and parmigiana reggiano Also included a choice of one salad - we got the sauteed mushroom salad, with romaine heart greens. Two pasta dishes our choices which were the uni pasta and mentaiko pasta. Both were super richly creamy! We probably should have gotten one pasta that was not cream based. The main entree is Chef's choice : we got the porterhouse steak (upgraded to 12 ounce) medium rare , came with a side of creamy baked potatoes and a very flavorful cold pasta ( maybe Marsala sauce?). One risotto included , tonight it was seared scallop with mushroom risotto. The dinner was capped by one each dessert - croissant bread pudding topped by chocolate and surrounded by a delicious caramel sauce - walnut crème brûlée- very tasty without being overly sweet - Panna cotta with fresh berries and berry sauce drizzle There is no kids' menu but we got a chicken curry dish for our little one - we asked for extra mild , which she seemed to enjoy. All the food was excellent, although a tad rich with the cream based sauces! Attentive service from the staff. Food was delivered at good time intervals. Since we were sharing, we also had plate changes at least three times. I got a glass of plum wine - almost a dessert wine it was very sweet and enjoyable. Subdued lighting and piped music. Plenty of parking. Check out the omakase lunch specials and also Valentine day specials!

I had such a wonderful time enjoying fusion Japanese cuisine! Every dish was absolutely delicious and packed with amazing flavors. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. I truly loved every moment of my visit!

One of the best finds this year. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is top-notch and so flavorful. Cannot believe it took me years to find this place. Enjoy their food...today! 😁

Japanese Italian cuisine. Cozy atmosphere is a plus. Service was acceptable. Food quality was good. Ordered fried oysters, tofu salad, scallop risotto, hamburger steak, two pastas. Best dish was risotto and other dishes lacked flavor and were disappointing. Expected better flavor and presentation for the price.

This is our comfort food goto place for 25+ years. It's sad to say but the quality has gone down a bit. The menu has pretty much stayed unchanged. Favorite dish: Mushroom salad, Uni Pasta, Beef tataki, Scallop tataki, Fried calamari (it's a hit or miss), Omurice, Osso bucco (sometimes too salty), Fried prawn appetizer, Spaghetti with meat sauce.
Carl W — Google review
I had high expectations for Cafe Hiro after reading some rave reviews online, but I was let down by the food quality and presentation. The restaurant itself was cozy and welcoming, with dim lighting and soft music. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was fast. We ordered two dishes: uni pasta with spinach and chicken cutlet with curry sauce. We also got some drinks and bread to start with. The bread was warm and fresh, and the drinks were refreshing. I ordered the uni pasta was served in a small bowl, with the uni and spinach on top of the noodles. The chicken cutlet was placed on a large plate with rice on the side and the curry in a separate bowl. The taste was not much better. The uni pasta was bland and watery, and the spinach gave it a weird flavor that did not go well with the pasta. The chicken cutlet was tender and juicy, but the curry sauce was tasteless. It tasted like watered-down tomato sauce. The rice was dry and hard. I think Cafe Hiro needs to do a taste test review for their dishes once in a while for quality control. They also need to work on their food presentation.

Love this place! I keep coming back. My favorite dishes are the pasta carbonara, osobuko, calamari & the pork buns. The bread pudding on the dessert menu is amazing.

Nestled in the vibrant culinary scene of Anaheim, The Kroft is a delightful eatery that reimagines comfort food with a gourmet twist. Known for its mouthwatering poutine—an iconic Canadian dish that's hard to find in California—this quick-serve restaurant offers an array of delectable options like country fried chicken and short rib poutine, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts.
Loved the blueberry lemonade, wagyu fries, birria egg rolls ànd hot Cheetos Mac n cheese (the last two, half-price during happy hour). Will have to return.

With the advent of so many smash burger place you don't ever need to go to a mediocre one, especially in LA. With that being said, the double wagyu smash burger here was not bad, a 7/10. The fries and cheese curds were also about a 7/10. If you're at the packing district and are craving a burger, this would be your choice.
Colin H — Google review
We stopped by The Kroft at the Anaheim Packing House and it did not disappoint. I had the Cubano and it was one of the best I've had. Crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor in every bite. My husband ordered the French Dip and was equally impressed. The sandwiches were next level, and the mac and cheese on the side was the perfect comfort food bonus. We paired everything with a cold beer and enjoyed every second of our meal. This place knows how to do comfort food right.
Caitlin M — Google review
Wow, the loaded fries here are 🔥. Well worth the price, it's just.. a lot of food. The burger was pretty good too but a little too saucy for me.
Erin H — Google review
This restaurant is mostly hamburgers and loaded fries. They did have chicken sandwiches, drinks and other side items to choose from. We ordered the basic cheeseburgers and some fries. Don’t let the two patties scare you off because the patties are very thin but are bigger than the bun. The cheeseburger itself is pretty basic with cheese, pickles and some condiments with a very soft bun; however, it was quite tasty and actually filling. The fries were okay but definitely needed seasoning. I think we’ll try the loaded fries next time and maybe the cucumber lemonade? The delivery service was also arrived on time which was a plus cuz our food was still a good temperature and not cold.
L. R — Google review
Country fried chicken poutine was fantastic. Food was made to order and was a large portion of fries with lots of chicken, bacon bits and cheese curds. Fried cheese curds were a nice side too. Also free refills on soda. Staff was helpful and nice.

Decent food and good vibes! The menu is quite unique, but is filled with delicious options. If you’re not accustomed to the menu items, this might not be the place for you. I’ve never even heard of most of the items, but wanted to try everything. The prices are probably a bit higher than expected, but they definitely reflect the portions given. I waited for about 10-15 minutes, but didn’t mind considering how good my sandwich was. * Kroft Fried Chicken Sandwich: 9/10 - really tasty and decent sized portion The parking lot gets busy quite easily so you might have to park on the street. The staff was really friendly and the restaurant has an urban atmosphere. We’ll definitely be stopping by to try all of the other delicious options! Highly recommend giving them a try!

The Kroft, nestled within the bustling Anaheim Packing House, has rapidly become a go-to destination for those in pursuit of great comfort food with a twist. Among the star attractions of their menu are the Wagyu Smash Fries, Cheese Steak Sandwich, and Smash Cheeseburgers, each of which manages to elevate traditional American cuisine to new heights. The Wagyu Smash Fries are nothing short of a symphony of taste. It combines the richness of 2 Wagyu beef patties, grilled onions, American cheese, diced pickles, and secret sauce with the crispy, golden texture of perfectly cooked fries. A must-try for any visitor. Meanwhile, the Cheese Steak Sandwich is a testament to The Kroft's commitment to quality and flavor. Tender slices of rotisserie beef, garlic mayo, grilled onions, swiss cheese, and a soft potato roll come together in a symphony of flavors that pays homage to the classic Philadelphia cheesesteak, with a unique twist that sets it apart. A visit to The Kroft is not just a meal; it's an experience that leaves you longing for your next visit. Come check it out!

Nestled within the upscale Crystal Court at South Coast Plaza, Hamamori Restaurant and Sushi Bar offers a delightful escape into the world of high-end Japanese cuisine. Under the creative guidance of Executive Chef James Hamamori, this contemporary dining spot showcases an impressive array of meticulously crafted sushi rolls and exquisite hot entrees. Each dish is a testament to Chef Hamamori's innovative artistry, featuring carefully sourced ingredients that are beautifully presented.
Had an anniversary dinner with my wife. Omakase was as good as the omakase I had in Tokyo, Japan. Great service. Will come back for more for sure!

Hamamori is a high quality sushi restaurant located in the South coast Mall Annex. The best offerings on the menu are the Gems, which are creatively flavored sushi so leave the soy behind. We came here for lunch a few times and the bargain on the menu is the VIP lunch with a sashimi salad, miso soup, the crunchy asparagus, several pieces of sushi (7-8) and some ice cream. Sit at the bar if you just want to order as you go. We didn't get to try the many cooked items on the menu but will be back.

Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had in Orange County I have tried them all and what makes the sushi difference is it’s high-quality and great but the customer service and personal relationships and communication by the chefs make it absolutely amazing. I was fortunate enough to be referred to this restaurant by a friend of mine and I am so thankful for that. I will never go anywhere else. I bring friends, family and visitors alike to this restaurant as it is some of the best sushi and best conversations you can have. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to have an incredible Culinary and social experience. I have been eating here now monthly for the past six months. It is the best.
Dylan — Google review
It was my first time visiting the mall (and the state!), and needless to say, I was 1000% satisfied with my choice to eat here. The food was great. I ordered the VIP sushi, and all of the sushi are very, very fresh. The hamamori shooter was interesting. The pork belly was amazing. It was my favorite, like, I literally closed my eyes to absorb the taste when I ate it because it was that good. Besides the food, the most memorable thing I experienced while eating here was the service. The server recommended pork belly to me, but I was afraid I couldn't finish it because I came here alone. Then she said that she could cut it in half, as in, there should be 6 pork bellies, but she could serve just 3 for half the price. I really appreciated that. And as I said before, the pork belly was, indeed, amazing. I was seated in the high table part, in front of the chef, so I could see them preparing the sushi. The chefs were so nice. They prepared the food and served them directly to me. I had some nice chat with one of the older chefs. He also made sure that I enjoyed the dishes and hinted the waiters to take my plates once I finished. Overall, it was such a wholesome dining experience. Eating alone in a new place is scary and intimidating sometimes, but here, they treated me very well and made sure that I got the best food and service 🫶🫶 TL;DR: Amazing food, amazing service, much recommended 💙

The restaurant has been open for 15 years with the same owner Hamamori. It is an upscale Japanese restaurant. Every sushi piece is unique under the Executive Sushi menu (8 pieces Hamamori Gems). We enjoyed every dish ordered at Hamarori Lunch Tasting Menu, e.g., miso soup taste is very unique, etc. Our waitress is very friendly.
Jeremy L — Google review
We went out for shopping then lunch on Labor Day & trusted the quality of this place because of its 5 stars review & location in south coast plaza but we were wrong. The Tasting Menu was decent but for some reason the sushi of the VIP menu was not fresh & tasted really bad. Lobster tail was dry. Probably will not come back.

Hidden gem on the third floor of South Coast. A good friend asked me to join for dinner and did not disappoint. Employees were genuinely happy, eager to serve and there wasn’t a wait in line to come dine. All fish looked extremely fresh, and the omakase selections from the chef were amazing. Would come back!
Anthony D — Google review
We had a horrible experience here, despite this restaurant’s stellar reputation and high-end feel. My father, who has an incredibly iron strong stomach, got food poisoning immediately after consuming not even all of an udon dish with zero seafood in it, likely due to staff error in poor seafood storage and cross-contamination. If someone else ate it, they may have ended up in the hospital, to put the severity in context. On top of that, the young chefs were chatting and snickering away rudely, were extremely unprofessional and left a horribly bad taste in my mouth. Our male server was also generally insincere and told us they checked the udon ingredients and all was fine (did you check the fish???? Did the chefs wash their hands???? And also how can you see bacteria like salmonella, bacteria that cause scombroid poisoning, vibrio, anisakis, etc, do you have a microscope back there??? Because maybe you should get one). This whole experience was extremely disappointing as we have come here before and had an amazing experience with respectful chefs and a friendly female server. I will not be coming back here willingly, and definitely not in the summer, and maybe you should think about it too unless you want to roll the dice on your health and suffering.

WaSa Sushi & Teppan is a Japanese restaurant with a focus on sushi, sashimi and cooked items. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Expect to spend around $15-20 per person for dinner.
No comments on the service, our waitress was very accommodating and professional. For food, the Albacore appetizer with the crispy onion topping was an absolute smash hit for the evening, as well as the Crispy Rock roll. They both disappeared faster than I could chew. The sashimi we ordered, in addition to having beautiful plating, was absolutely fresh and delicious. The salmon sashimi in particular just melted on the tongue like butter. Last but certainly not least, it's not every day that I dine at a Japanese restaurant with a memorable Sake selection. While sake is available at most sushi restaurants these days, after a while you tend to see the same two or three options over and over again. To have an extensive list of various sake options, as well as their house and seasonal sake options was a breath of fresh air.

So so experience at our first visit at this popular place in bison shopping plaza. The place was pretty packed at 8 pm on Saturday night. All the tapenyaki seats were taken so we got a booth. It took about 15 minutes before we got service at our table. Ordered some appetizers, a few sushi rolls the cucumber salad and the tempura udon. Most came out fairly quickly but it took a good 25-30mins for udon to arrive. Not crazy about the decor and ambiance of this place.

Don't order take out from here. They will give you bad fish. The fish at the bar is ok, not great. The pic is $20 of Toro. I did't even eat it because it looks so bad.

We came in to dine Tuesday evening after finding out Wasa recently extended their teppan days! We ordered from their daily specials, which was a teppan Tuesday fixed menu. Went with the steak option for $24 (chicken is available for $20), which included a choice of soup or salad, scallops and prawns, veggies, your choice of protein, fried rice and ended with delicious ice cream for dessert. Can't find those prices anywhere around. I couldn't believe the portion sizes of the fixed menu, we had enough to pack up for lunch the next day. We ordered a few a la carte sushi dishes too and all of them were incredibly high quality, flavorful, and beautifully presented. However, the teppan experience really stole the show. A special shoutout to Chef Ricky, who served up perfectly seasoned and expertly cooked dishes with impressive flair and finesse. The show he put on for our table was a fun and memorable one! Wasa has been a personal favorite of ours for years, and it never fails to impress. From the exceptional service to the outstanding food, it's a place I always look forward to returning to. Highly recommend!

Honestly a disappointing experience. The staff were helpful and attentive, but they could not make up for the food. While I did order some sashimi that was a bit off, but passable, the centerpiece of disappointment was the chicken teriyaki. The chicken was cooked well, but by far the dominant flavor of the dish was pepper. This tastes ( and looks ) like something I'd do at home in my oven. There was almost no teriyaki flavor at all, just black pepper everywhere. I struggled to complete the meal.
Brian S — Google review
10/10 would visit again for Wasa's service, ambiance, taste and presentation of dishes. Had a nice set meal teppanyaki with Chef David. The staff was very personable and all the dishes presented tasted great. Would highly recommend the seafood appetizers and definitely attend a teppanyaki dinner when here.

Nestled in a sleek and minimalist setting, Sushi Noguchi is a gem for sushi lovers seeking an authentic Japanese dining experience. Owned by the talented Chef Hiro Noguchi, who personally sources fish from Japan at local markets multiple times each week, this restaurant has quickly gained recognition since its opening in 2011. With over 50 years of combined experience between the chefs, guests can indulge in both traditional and fusion-style omakase that promises to tantalize the taste buds.
very fresh sushi, scottish salmon, omakase options. as others have mentioned the stand out feature is the quality of the ingredients - if you want a fried rocket drenched in spicy mayo you won’t enjoy this place although they do have fried options - this is more authentic and for those with some sushi experience. food is clean and fresh and tasty. i never had crispy tuna rice where i could see the fresh tuna chunks very cool!

It's been a minute since my last visit, but I dined here recently and had a wonderful experience. We made reservations for dinner, and everything was set up when we arrived. We looked through the menu and decided on some nigiri, hand rolls, tempura, starters, and a couple of beers. The sushi tasted fresh and well prepared, and the nigiri were decently sized. I enjoyed the Baked Blue Crab Handroll and the Agedashi Tofu. Overall, everything was delicious. We had one child with us; his order was the karaage (fried chicken) plate for kids. The staff was excellent, and the owner greeted us and ensured everything was going well. This is a solid sushi restaurant. with a relaxed atmosphere, and I hope to return to try the omakase and other offerings.

My wife and I discovered Sushi Noguchi a few months ago, and we quickly became regulars, bringing guests here for memorable sushi meals. We’ve visited four times with nothing but stellar experiences—until our most recent visit. On this occasion, we ordered two servings of the sweet shrimp, a dish we always enjoy. However, when the shrimp arrived, they immediately looked different—an obvious red flag that I unfortunately ignored. I decided to give them a try, but the shrimp tasted overwhelmingly fishy, which raised a second concern. I brought this up to our server, who explained that due to seasonal availability, they could only get frozen shrimp, rather than the usual live ones. She mentioned that the chef should have informed us of this substitution when we ordered, but we were never told. The server was apologetic, and the main chef came out to apologize as well, offering a 50% discount on the sweet shrimp. While we appreciated the gesture, the issue was far from resolved. Five hours later, I woke up around 2 AM feeling extremely nauseous, chilled, and with an urgent need to vomit. I spent the next several hours suffering from severe diarrhea, body aches, and general discomfort. My wife experienced the same symptoms. This was incredibly disappointing, especially considering how much we’ve enjoyed this restaurant in the past. It’s concerning that the chef either didn't catch the issue with the shrimp before serving them or failed to disclose the substitution to us. Given the noticeable difference in appearance and smell, it seems clear that the shrimp should have been discarded rather than served. As much as we’ve liked Sushi Noguchi in the past, this experience has left us hesitant to return. It's unfortunate, but I can’t see myself revisiting after this.

Noguchi is simply the best sushi spot in Yorba Linda and we are so lucky to have it. There are quite a few options around here and some are quite a bit cheaper but none have the quality that Noguchi has. Their fish is not only impeccably sourced but masterfully cut and presented. You can tell that the all the chefs are quite passionate about their trade and it really elevates the experience. Their dining room is quite casual and I feel comfortable coming dressed up for dinner or right off the tennis courts for lunch.
Davis N — Google review
It was amazing, tried both Jun's and Hiro's omakases and they were both amazing, definitely the best fish I've ever eaten, and I've eaten plenty of sushi in Japan. Also tried their Miyazaki beef and it was also delicious, as good as the A5 steaks I've had in Japan, definitely would recommend. Came during covid and they were very professional and clean. The number of people inside was very limited, all the staff was wearing masks, and we sat at the bar, where each space was separated by a divider, definitely felt safe.

Anjin is a Japanese steakhouse that serves a variety of cuts of meat, along with ramen and kimchi dishes. The restaurant is located in a nondescript strip mall and has great service and tasty food. The wait can be long, but it's worth it for the authentic Japanese Yakiniku experience.
We love this place. The meat is exceptional. You know it’s good when they don’t have to drown it in sauces. Wonderful servers. Good choices of Sake and beer. Open late. Easy parking. Super good meal.

If you want to catch a spot here before 9PM, come before opening at like 4PM to put your name down in their lil 📓 waitlist. The meat was exquisite - their cuts of beef were solid. Some better than others for sure. My personal favorites are number 1. Prime Boneless Short Rib and 3. Salted tongue. Cook number 1 to medium rare so that its still soft and not too chewy - try not to get it charred unless u like rubber. For number 3, I like to make this crispier actually because the slices are thinner. The other cuts were marinated well, but I personally don’t like their texture or flavor as much. Service was quick and the servers were friendly. The meats came out within <3 minutes of ordering them and servers would come and swap grills after you finish grilling 2-3 meat dishes. Water was refilled regularly. Tried the pineapple sherbet and it was a great way to end the night! The sherbet was super soft and easy to scoop. The pineapple flavor wasn’t super tart but was a subtle sweetness and I loved it.

Our waiter Setsuko was so kind to us and took her time to explain all the foods with detail. We got 3 meat platters and the beef tongue was amazing! Service was fast, efficient, and very very friendly, just like the ones I had in Tokyo. Most authentic Japanese restaurant I’ve been to on this coast highly recommend!! I cannot wait to come back here and enjoy myself at Anjin. What a gem to find a slice of Tokyo in Orange County🔥🔥🔥

Anjin is so different from most Asian BBQ places : Unlike most BBQ places, Anjin is a teeny, tiny, cozy restaurant—perfect for a romantic date night, in my opinion. It might not be a wise choice for the first date because they are ALWAYS busy, and there’s always a wait time. And they don’t take reservations no matter what, so DO NOT show up too hungry! Unlike most, the service is excellent, and the staff is lovely and attentive. No one acts annoyed, bothered, or hard to find to get a drink refill, if you know what I mean 😏 They even change the cooking iron girdle before being asked. All you have to do is order and eat; they’ll take care of the rest! Unlike most, each order comes with only a few thin pieces but excellent quality, delicate marinated meats. And soooooo delicious. Some might think it’s pretty pricey for what you get, but remember, they’re not serving cheap meat. Japanese care about the quality of the meat. Therefore, if you're looking to order to get a lot of meat and eat to death, this is probably not the right place to go. Regarding what to order, I suggest you speak to your server. They are usually very good at suggestions and explaining each dish in detail. Make sure to order # 43.石機ビビンパスープは。Chicken on Rice in Hot Stone Pot w/Soup. Order it with crispy rice. This is the yummiest crispy rice you’ve ever had. And I think one order is good for two people. I’ve been going to this place for over 15 years, and it’s one of the few restaurants that has consistently provided good service and quality food.

First of, this place isnt the biggest restaurant around that can support a lot of party. That being said the wait time is usually long. However, the food didn't disappoint and it was actually well portioned for its price. Maybe a bit on the expensive side but it was worthy. Service was good. 8/10 on that. They were nice and polite as any server should be. Got nothing negative to say about the place, recommend to anyone who has decent size wallet to check it out😅

I would rate the perfect 5 stars if the price matches the food. The food was good, great condition and quality of meat but I personally it’s overpriced. I have eaten Japanese BBQ in many places but at Anjin, you have to spend at least $80 each person to get full (even I’m a girl). The portion was so small, just 6-8 slices of meat. They even charge for kimchi, and other veggies. I mena they can give us a little free with the plate of meat that we order and they can charge if you order extra later. Overall, it’s a good place for Japanese BBQ but just not totally worth your money!

The japanese restaurant Gu Ramen Taps and Tapas is a great place to enjoy some ramen or Japanese tapas. The restaurant has amazing food with tons of flavor and the prices are very reasonable. Plus, the waitstaff is wonderful and always happy to help. If you're looking for a japanese dining experience that doesn't disappoint, then you should definitely check out Gu Ramen Taps and Tapas!
My wife found this place in Laguna Beach as we were going to the Pageant of the masters Ordered: Gu Ramen with Fried Tofu topping, Crispy tofutons, and fried rice. Everything was delicious and was served quickly. Our wait staff Dan was friendly, helpful (had a few questions), and checked in with water and if we needed anything. Definitely give this place a chance.

The wings are amazing! A must have when going here. Everything was great honestly. The broth on the ramen was incredible. The tempura was perfect on the shrimp. Such a cool low key spot. Amazing vibes. One of my favorite spots now.

Great place just by the road and near to the viewpoint for the beach. The food also tasted very good and was easy to order - they are able to accommodate your request as much as possible. Would definitely be back.

I'm a big fan of Asian food and it was my first time spending the day in Laguna Beach. It was a short walk from the beach, maybe 20 minutes and service was good and staff were friendly. We ordered 2 Ramen bowls with egg topping and made it a combo. I would say broth wasn't bad and portions were good. The egg isn't a soy sauce egg so if you are into that, then you may be disappointed. The rice bowl was good but you can say it's an acquired taste if you aren't into pickled veggies. Definitely recommend to someone if they're looking for a good quick fix and can't decide on what to eat but if you're looking for a more premium Ramen taste, this isn't it. 4 stars from me but I would be open to going again.

Absolutely delicious! The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and the pork melts in your mouth. Cozy vibe and super friendly staff. Easily one of the best ramen spots in Orange County. Highly recommend!

I've been coming here for years when on vacation. Prices seem to have gone up while the quality didn't seem quite the same. I still give it 5 stats because it is really good ramen. The location is perfect after a beach day.

Kappo Sui is a cozy Japanese eatery known for its traditional dishes like udon, teriyaki, and high-quality sushi. The restaurant offers a homey atmosphere and friendly staff. Customers rave about the grilled sea eel, homemade cold dipping udon, and freshly fried tempura. The place is described as authentic with delicious, fresh sushi and perfectly seasoned chicken karaage.
We came here for an anniversary dinner and I can confidently say this is the most authentic Japanese establishment I’ve been to in SoCal so far. They are extremely welcoming and attentive. The food is delicious and uniquely authentic. Zuke served us himself and he was such a pleasure to talk with! This is a great place for a special meal. I plan to take anyone visiting me to dine here - totally worth the drive from Chino Hills!

Had an excellent experience here! The food is soooo delicious, and the staffs are super friendly and warm. I will recommend all the food! Wanna point out that I ordered basque cheesecake but got surprised with complimentary dessert samples. Every single one was amazing and will say that they are the best dessert I had in Orange County! Definitely coming back soon

This is the most legitimately OG sushi experience I’ve had in a while. This place is so authentic my waitress poked fun at me for grabbing the wrong dish for my soy sauce haha However, the service is fast, professional, very warm and friendly really just feel feels like I’m eating with my aunts & uncles. Chef did an excellent job with all of my rolls & nigiri even made me a custom vegetable mani roll upon request. The pricing is fair. Everything was super fresh and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend coming to to enjoy their lunch menu!

I’d been wanting to try this spot for so long, and it was worth the wait! The Agedashi Tofu and Grilled Pacific Saury were perfect with cold sake, and the sushi was so fresh. The Seared Engawa was a standout — honestly one of the best I’ve had outside of Japan. Finished with the matcha pudding, which was the perfect ending. Staff were so kind and welcoming, and even dining alone I felt completely comfortable. Very authentic Japanese food — I’ll definitely be back!

In my opinion this is the best Japanese restaurant in OC! Great food and great service! - Kisu Tempura and Maitake tempura is my favorite. It’s really hard to find fish tempura and especially good ones around here, their kisu tempura is beyond my expectations. Served at the right temperature keeps the coating crispy and fish soft. Maitake tempura is very juicy and retains all the mushroom flavor. - The fire grilled king mackerel is also cooked to perfection, the surface is grilled to be dry and smoky flavor but kept all the moisture and oils for the meat. - Simmered Kinki fish is seasoned well, sweetness and saltiness has a great balance. Also comes with a tofu soaked and cooked in the fish broth which is a big plus. Will definitely come back soon!

Hands down this is the best Japanese restaurant stateside! Highly recommend going here, you won't regret it! They have the best homemade Japanese food and sushi! The flavors here are so authentic and umami! Having lived in Japan for more than two years, this is one of the few spots in the US that truly does have that delicious, homemade Japanese taste. Let's start with the sushi, which is super fresh and amazing. The menu has a huge selection and we loved everything we had (which was most of the menu). Our absolute favorite was the Uni Hand-roll. The freshness of the uni combined with the shiso leaf delicately wrapped with seaweed was orgasmic! We literally had to order another round because they were just that scrumptious. The cooked food is amazing as welll! We usually start with a Spinach Salad. While the salad looks deceptively simple it packs huge, umami flavor. The dressing combined with the bits of bacon and the greens themselves make the perfect combination of light and dark flavors. Next is the Crab Croquet. So deliciously creamy with lots of crab inside. You won't regret ordering this appetizer for sure! The Agedashi Tofu is also very yummy if you're looking for a light and refreshing appetizer. For the entrees, they have the #1 eel box I've had in the US. It is super, delicious! The eel is perfectly grilled and the sauce is divine. The portion size is substantial as well, if you're looking for something heavier. The Duck Nanban Soba's broth is so savory and addicting. The Duck itself was tender and delicious. This soba was so good, the bowl was literally empty before I knew it! The Simmered Black Cod was phenomenal as well. Tender, savory and mind-blowing good. Even if you're not into fish, you'll probably love this dish! The Fire-Grilled Mackerel was also an explosion of deliciousness and one to add to the must-try list! For dessert, the Cheesecake was bomb, but the Matcha Panna Cotta was the winner for us. It was so creamy, smooth, and tasty. The matcha flavor was perfectly sweet and not bitter at all. The perfect way to end a perfect meal! Honestly, you can't go wrong ordering anything from the menu. Everything is so fresh and delicious and you can tell they put a lot of effort into making each bite something to remember. Not to mention, the staff is so friendly and attentive. The owner, Zuke, is awesome and definitely cares about running a welcoming and top-notch establishment. Overall: 10 Stars!! Go here if you want amazing Japanese food. You won't regret it!

Came in with a recommendation of a friend and got seated immediately! Their menu is quite big. They have a separate sheet for their nigiri. After looking through everything, I decided on the lunch sets! Their prices were very reasonable. Starts from $15! chicken karrage lunch set - came with 5 pieces. came with rice + miso soup + pickled vegetable + salty seaweed type dish. All the components went well together. You can also add a spicy mayo for an extra $1.25 I believe. It’s not on the menu. King mackerel set - rice + radish + miso soup + small dish - highly recommend! It’s soft and moist! There are bones so beware while eating it! Mackerel set - came with rice + miso soup + pickled dish. Their fish was a bit dryer but eating it with the radish helped. Duck - portion is small. it was cooked well. Eat it with the mustard! The flavor tastes good together. Desserts: matcha panna cotta - loved! Matcha flavor was strong so i enjoyed it. Basque cheesecake - it’s what you’d expect. Blueberry panna cotta - the compote on top was good! A bit tarte from the blueberry! Service: friendly and thorough! If you have a question, he’s more than happy to answer for you. Parking: lots of parking if you are here between 12-1:30!

Japanese restaurant
Yoshiharu Ramen is a contemporary Japanese noodle eatery located in a modern strip-mall setting. It offers a variety of traditional ramen soups that are perfect for warming up on a rainy afternoon. The staff, particularly the server/hostess named Anh, is known for their kind and accommodating nature, ensuring an enjoyable dining experience. The menu features delicious options such as vegetarian ramen and fresh fried tofu.
Yoshiharu Ramen in Anaheim totally lives up to its rep as a top spot for authentic Hokkaido-style ramen! I ordered the Black Tonkatsu Ramen, and wow, it was a flavor bomb—rich, garlicky broth with that perfect umami kick, paired with tender pork and perfectly cooked noodles. The vibe here feels like a nod to Japan’s ramen history, from the Meiji Period roots to Tokyo’s iconic Rairaiken. You can tell they’re serious about their craft, just like their #1 OC Register rating suggests. If you’re in Anaheim and craving legit ramen, this place is a must-visit!

I'm not sure if this was a fluke but my ramen came out barely warm and almost room temperature. It had the potential to be good but I'll never know. I probably should have sent it back or literally asked them to microwave it but the server was like nonexistent and my water never got refilled either lol. It's okay I won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend this either. It's hard to really review the food past that but the price tag is kind of high too.... I just recently went to shin sen gumi on Monday where the ramen is 9.50 so this bowl being twice the price just makes it kind of sad. Food: 2/10 Service: 3/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Value: 3/10

Amazing food Soups are 🥇 Only issue is they give you 1 napkin in the table so when eating you gotta be super super clean or ask for more….. just buy napkins for each table like all restaurants Ice scream is amazing and Russian lady always nice attending us there.

Service was exceptional. Our server was nice and attentive. We ordered spicy tonkotsu black and the non spicy version. The chashi was good, but the spicy version had almost no flavor and seasoning. You could taste more of the broth with the non-spicy version. Overall extremely underwhelming. Also ordered some takoyaki, which were quite awful. It's largely just dough, little flavor and some were very undercooked/practically raw.

It was really good I had the TONKOTSU SPICY BLACK Ramen oh man it was good and spicy lol but flavorful. As had egg roll for appetizer and also got real Sushi called Crunchy roll that was really good to each roll was big. All was super good but sadly one crucial thing they didn't have was Ice for the drinks. Not even cold water just room temp water which sucked was little pricey. Besides the water everything was good I'll come again

The black garlic tonkostu ramen was phenomenal. Went with a friend she had spicy miso ramen and liked it as well. The staff are all very friendly prices are reasonable for the very tasty portions, and the music was a soothing lofi that made the ramen taste better. Very yummy. Very worth the price. Would highly reccomend the black tonkotsu ramen.

I want to hear a few weeks ago and I feel like the food was pretty good but definitely not amazing. I would give it a solid 7 out of 10. The food here definitely was not my complaint though. My complaint was actually the service. I went here on a weeknight where it was not super busy yet the server barely came around. There was two adults and two children sitting at my table. I ordered two kids meals and two regular bowls of ramen. By the time the food came out both kids meals came out and then one of the bowl of ramen. The server never seemed to question the fact that she only brought out three dishes for a table of four people. I sat and waited for quite some time thinking maybe my ball was just a little slower and after everyone at my table was nearly halfway done with their food I had to wave down the server and ask about my dish. Instead of just admitting that they completely forgot my order they brushed me off and said oh it would be coming right out. I had to watch every table around me get their bowls of ramen after that before I even got mine. By the time I was done eating my family had been sitting and waiting for me and when the bill came they actually charged me for 5 dishes instead of the four. They ended up double-charging me for my specific bowl of ramen as if I ordered it twice. I was very annoyed at this point and asked for my refund on the extra ball that I was charged for. Unfortunately for me there was no manager that night and so they could not refund my card that they had already charged at that point. So they ended up just giving me cash for the one bowl that they overcharged me for. Honestly that was my mistake for not looking at the bill first. We had been sitting there for so long already and had to ask for the check that when the server came without even looking at the bill I just handed her my card. Now I know better for the next time I go here that I have to double-check and possibly have them repeat my order. As I stated before it was not the food that was a problem here it was more of the service. I am definitely willing to give them a try again and hopefully we'll be able to update my review :-)

Udon noodle restaurant
Asian restaurant
Authentic Japanese restaurant
Meiji Seimen Costa Mesa is a cozy Japanese restaurant known for its handmade udon and soba noodles. The lunch combo offers options like Sukiyaki Beef Curry bowl and Egg Totoro & Mentai udon. The curry has a well-balanced spice blend, while the noodles are described as juicy and bouncy.
I had been wanting to visit this place for a long time but always hesitated because of the long wait. Luckily, I was first on the waiting list and got in as soon as they opened. One of my friends, who is an expert in Japanese cuisine, insisted that the best way to judge a good udon restaurant is by trying their basic udon. After taking a bite, he paused for a few seconds and then praised it as the closest taste to authentic Japanese udon he has had outside of Japan. I ordered the Nabeyaki Udon, Shabu Shabu Udon, Chicken Karaage, and a Tempura Set to share with my friends. The tempura set, in particular, was absolutely amazing and highly recommended. The chicken karaage was also delicious. For the Nabeyaki Udon, I chose the medium spice level, which had a nice kick and was full of flavor. This place is now officially my favorite udon restaurant, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

We came here to try their cold soba noodle, the sauce is ice cold and savory which we like a lot. Their noodle is house made and is chewy. The chicken carriage is surprisingly good, very juicy and crispy, also came in with a lot of pieces. Tempura was okay, it doesn’t come with any sauce but you can ask the server to grab you tempura sauce.
Yun- C — Google review
To start we ordered the fried chicken and assorted tempura. The fried chicken was our absolute favorite, the crunchiness, juiciness and flavor was great. We then ordered the Nabeyaki udon and the SP Katsu. Both were great, but the udon itself was so good. The broth and the noodles were memorable. I’m excited to come back and try more dishes! This restaurant seems really popular and gets packed so definitely add yourself to the Yelp waitlist if you can.
Kayla-Kae N — Google review
I had the cold soba, and it was quite good. If you’re looking for Japanese-style udon in the area, I would recommend this place. However, it’s not somewhere you can eat comfortably at a relaxed pace. I understand that there are many people waiting, but clearing our bowls while we were still preparing to pay didn’t feel appropriate. I would recommend this restaurant only if you want to come in, eat, and leave quickly—it’s not a place for a leisurely meal.
Socaleater — Google review
This is my second visit and it's just as superb as the first. I'm picky and have complaints at every restaurant I go to, but for this place I have NO NOTES. On my first visit I got the curry udon and I thought there was no way to top it. Today I tried the special- kimchi udon. I would eat that every day for the rest of my life and die happy. The broth was so flavourful and complex. The udon noodles are perfection. Every ingredient went together so well. I'll be here every chance I get. come early- there will be a wait-list

Tip: Add yourself to the Yelp waitlist ahead of time and check in when you arrive at the restaurant. The restaurant itself is really small, so there'll most likely be a long wait during prime time. Scan QR code available to view menu. Service and food delivery time were quick. Started off with the fried chicken appetizer, and it was good. Lightly battered, yet crispy chicken served with a side of sweet chili based sauce. For entrees, we had the Shabu Shabu udon, Nabeyaki udon, and a small bowl of Sukiyaki Beef Curry. They were all quite tasty and filling. My favorite was the Nabeyaki udon, which was flavorful with a slight hint of spice. It was plentiful enough to maybe share. Overall, it was good and worth the wait.

Ramen restaurant
Kashiwa Ramen is a popular spot for a Friday night dinner, offering made-to-order ramen with appetizer options and rice sides. The staff is friendly and provides great service. The menu includes delicious gyoza as appetizers and various ramen options such as chicken broth & pork, miso ramen with pork and extra egg, and black garlic ramen with chicken. The restaurant is highly recommended for its authentic Japanese quality and piping hot, high-quality takeout options.
Kashiwa is a cozy little ramen place. Here, you order ramen by filling out a sheet of choices for type, broth, protein, noodles, taste, and toppings. The ramen prices were on the order form. The menu was more for reference. The ramen was pretty good. We also loved our server. She was friendly and super sweet whenever we ask for anything. Pro Tip: For taste, don't choose the lite option for broth, especially for miso. I made this mistake and the broth came out pretty plain and diluted with little flavor. My partner got normal and it was much better. * Karaage 4.5/5 - The fried chicken came out piping hot and fresh. The outside was crispy and scrumptious. The inside was super juicy. It was a bit light in flavor, though. You will want to dip it in the accompanying sauce which was a combination of sweet chili sauce and a sauce that looked like spicy mayo (but lighter and not as good). * Spicy Miso Ramen 5/5 - The normal spicy miso ramen had great flavor. It came with a half boiled egg, bean sprouts, corn, and butter on the side. The spiciness was between mild and medium. Get the wavy noodles. They're thicker than the straight noodles, so there's more of a bite. The chashu pork was thinly cut and had a charred flavor while still being tender.
Sophie — Google review
I tried Kashiwa Ramen for the first time and went with the black garlic ramen with chicken broth—absolutely fantastic. The broth was rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and the black garlic added just the right depth. The noodles had a great bite, and everything came together perfectly. Service was excellent too—attentive without being overbearing, and the food came out quickly even though the place was busy. Overall, a great ramen spot that hits all the marks: flavor, consistency, and solid service. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Tip: get an order of fries to toss into the remaining Mazemen sauce after you finish the noodles. 美味しかったよ! ごちそうさまでした!

Shin-Sen-Gumi in Irvine is part of a casual Japanese chain known for its charcoal-grilled yakitori, sushi, udon, and ramen. With locations in Japan and California, each branch specializes in different Japanese styles such as robata, yakitori, shabu shabu, udon, and ramen. The Irvine location offers friendly staff and delicious food with perfect udon noodles and clean presentation.
We went on Sunday and had to wait a little but got seated soon. The Hakata soup base is Tonkotsu pork with think noodles, which is my choice. You can ask for different noodles with extra charge. I really like their pork fried rice, it's a must to try next time you go there, delicious 😋
Tony K — Google review
With locations throughout Orange and Los Angeles counties, Shin-Sen-Gumi has been a mainstay at Woodbury Town Center where many of its former neighbors have unfortunately gone out of business. The staff is always very welcoming and efficient with seating and orders. The menu offers everything from cold/hot/fried appetizers, udon and ramen to rice dishes. On our recent visit, I tried the Spicy DanDan Men off their seasonal menu. It's described as a "Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen w/ rich spicy sesame miso flavor, topped w/ seasoned ground pork & beef, shredded chili pepper, cilantro and green onion." The broth was flavorful but IMO not spicy enough (although admittedly my heat tolerance is high). I wasn't given the option to customize the ramen set-up so the noodles weren't to my liking and I felt like they skimped on the pork & beef inclusion. Overall it wasn't my best choice of ramen but I know they have better options on their menu. I also supplemented my meal with a Soboro Bowl which is always a favorite. I also recommend trying the Nan Kara (deep fried chicken cartilage) if you have the palate for it. The Shin-Sen-Gumi Restaurant Group was first established in 1992, so you can expect this restaurant to continue operating well into the future!

Very mediocre noodles…. Ramen wasn’t good, udon didn’t meet up to my expectation either. All are very plain. Atmosphere and service is good but food is not worth going back.

I've been going to this place since 2019. Even if it's a long drive, I found it worth it because it's the only place I know that doesn't make their curry udon watery. I'm not surprised the prices went up, but they took out the size options for the udon, and what's worse is their curry udon no longer has a thick consistency. In the pictures I've added, you'll notice the curry udon now looks lighter compared to the older photo (I can't edit captions on photos so I meant to put 3/4/25 on the most recent pic).It really does sadden me that the quality of food has lowered, and I have to pay more for it. It's no longer worth the long drive and I think it's better if I make curry udon at home...
Amanda G — Google review
I was really looking forward to this meal, but it’s honestly a letdown. I specifically ordered the ramen with light oil, but it’s ridiculously greasy, like they ignored my request entirely. And to make things worse, the gyoza is overcooked. way too crispy and dry instead of that perfect balance of crunch and juiciness. Kinda ruined the whole experience.
Iloveramen2 — Google review
Overall a great experience! The food was amazing and the time between the food was very short! My partner never tried black sesame dish before but absolutely loved the sesame spinach. They also have vegan options for people like me, the vegan poke dish was amazing!
Yutaka ( — Google review
It seems like there’s been a change in ownership. The taste is noticeably different from before — it now feels more like a Chinese take on Japanese ramen rather than authentic Japanese flavors. The tempura batter was too thick and heavy, and overall, the food quality has definitely declined. Disappointed, as this used to be a favorite spot.

I really enjoyed this place for the past 5 years. I just got hakata ramen delivered last night because it was buy 1 get 1 free. Within an hour of consumption, both my girlfriend and I were taking turns using the restroom as it was coming out both ends. This was at 7pm last night; it is now 9am "tomorrow", and I am still sick to my stomach. I'm sorry, I can't eat your food again after that experience.

First and foremost, amazing service. We were seated immediately, and ordered within 5 minutes. Food came out pretty quick too. Im usually not a ramen person, but this ramen was cutin! Get some extra veggies on the side, you wont be disappointed!

Wow! Such great ramen! Great flavor and perfect noodles. You pick the size, protein and toppings from a wide selection. I got the mild and it was just right…not sure what extra hot would be like! They also have a great selection of appetizers although we didn’t try any this visit. Great service too! I’ll be back to try another combination. Located in The Camp.

Just tried Slurpin’ Ramen Bar in Costa Mesa and I’m still dreaming about that garlic edamame. No joke — spicy, garlicky, perfectly blistered. I would eat a bucket of it. Actually, I might have. Gyoza were crispy golden pockets of joy, and the ramen broth? Creamy, flavorful, and made me question every cup noodle I’ve ever had. Bonus: the service was fast, the vibe was chill, and I left full but already thinking about my next visit. Anyone else obsessed with garlic edamame like I am? Drop your favorite ramen side dishes — I’m on a mission.

Great flavor. The ramen was delicious & enjoyed the green tea treat afterwards. It’s a small place so make sure you get on the waiting list.

Had the Tsh… dipping noodles with ramen — was good. May come back to try their ramen soup. Place is very popular and service is very helpful.

First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. The garlic edamame was 10/10, and my chashu rice bowl was also super delicious. The pork belly in the ramen is super soft and melts in your mouth while the broth is rich.

Top 3 Japanese restaurant in the US. We park our car near by and walk to the restaurant surrounding. Then we see many people here and decide to choose it. The fried noodles is like 100% Japanese style and so good. The Tonkatsu was ok but I got very full so I think it’s worth.

Sat at the bar and the service was a bit slow but very nice. The food came out in good time and it was well served. The food was good and we left full. The price was just right for the food that was served. I’m thankful to the sushi place across the street (south) as all you can eat was not for us so we crossed the street to try kabuki and thankful we did. This place a worth a try.

Hadn’t been to a Kabuki in years and we were so happy we did. Didn’t know they had happy hour, so that was a pleasant surprise! Sushi was perfect temperature, the flavor was good too. Mogumogu is a vibrant restaurant located in Fullerton, offering a unique take on ramen by serving it without broth while still maintaining rich flavors and textures. The menu includes a small but satisfying selection of vegan options. Customers praise the outstanding service and delicious meals, particularly highlighting the Tokyo Mazemen and Deluxe Mazemen dishes. Visitors also appreciate the attentive staff who provide guidance on how to enjoy their meals to the fullest, such as mixing ingredients thoroughly and adding vinegar at the right moment.
Wow-wow-wee-wah! I came in not knowing what to expect and left impressed. I ordered the Mogu Chicken. It was fried perfectly and juicy on the inside! The deluxe mazemen was amazing. I would best describe this as a dry noodle ramen. The noodles had some heft and were toothsome. The texture was great! The sauce was an umami bomb. Savory and flavorful. The onsen tamago added another layer of richness. The gentleman working there recommended adding some mayo. Again. Another layer of richness. I added a decent amount of their vinegar. I love vinegar and helped add pop and balance to the richness. My only gripes were that the ramen egg was really cold and the chashu was not as tender as I am accustomed to. Come try the mazemen!
Jay. G — Google review
Everything is so delish! We have the deluxe mazemen, which is mixed ramen with pork chashu, soft boiled egg, fish umami, and more mixed together. We also have the California tonkotsu ramen, the broth is very flavorful and creamy. For appetizers we have the Mogu chicken ( so crisp! ) and the agedashi takoyaki, first time trying it and it is soaked like the agedashi tofu. It’s soft, chewy and delish! We also have the uji matcha cheesecake for dessert. I think my favorite one is the deluxe mazemen, it mixed a lot of flavors together. Service is friendly and food comes out 10-15 minutes which is great. Recommend this place!
Leona W — Google review
I took my mom here for lunch. It was a very comfortable atmosphere. We'd never had Mazemen before and it was delicious, as was the Mogu Chicken!
Steve K — Google review
I came here on a cloudy Sunday and was immediately greeted and got a seat right away. I ordered the deluxe mazemen with the pork belly and it was delicious mixture of different savory textures and flavors. I definitely liked it more after adding a bit of the white vinegar to cut through some of the richness. I also had the yuzu sour, which if you know me, I love the yuzu like waking up and having no work that day. The yuzu sour was refreshing, not too sweet, and tasted like one of the bottled yuzu sodas out there. If I'm in the area after hitting some golf balls I'll come back.
Ryan L — Google review
I had the Tokyo mazeramen and it’s soooooo good. I crave it every time I’m in Fullerton. The service is quick and the waiter is super friendly.
Allison H — Google review
My friend introduced me to Mogumogu last year, and I’ve quickly become a regular. I’ve put all my friends and family onto mazemen too, and they all love it. It’s different than regular ramen because it’s not a noodle soup. It’s more of a ramen “pasta”. I always get the deluxe mazemen. It comes with Slice pork chashu, Spicy minced pork, Poached egg, Scallions, Chives, Minced garlic, Fish umami, Seaweed flakes, Seaweed, Soft boiled egg. Mix everything up, and I always add a liberal amount of the umami vinegar and sesame seeds, then enjoy. At the end, they give you a small ball of rice to finish off the rest of the sauce. With the mazemen, I usually like to get a side dish or two. Most of the appetizers are good. If you’re looking to switch up your regular ramen spot, then I’d highly suggest mogumogu.
Cody K — Google review
I hadn’t heard of brothless Ramen before, but I’m really glad I did - especially since it’s the summer! The deluxe mazeman is so beyond delicious. The more you mix, the better it tastes. Once the toppings and vinegar is all combined, the noodles are well sauced, and this is seriously so beyond flavorful!! We also absolutely absolutely loved their Fullerton exclusive gyoza and the popular Mogu chicken as well. And then for dessert, we were so happy to see that they even offer taiyaki and Matcha cheesecake!
Reagan P — Google review
Make sure you check in on Yelp for one free spicy chili sauce! I actually dumped this entire sauce into my ramen bowl, and it gave the soup an extra umph! Parking: I believe this is their newest location. They’re located in a newly-built plaza down the street from CSUF. There’s plenty of free parking in the lot. Ambiance/Environment: We visited on a Saturday around @13:30, not realizing their last call is @14:45. They close for a couple hours to prepare for dinner, and reopen @17:30. This spot is great for large groups. Plenty of indoor seating. No outdoor seating. Service: Shout out to our server Kristen! She made us feel welcome, and we didn’t feel rushed at all. The cooks were quick and efficient. We received our orders under 10 minutes. After dining, you pay at the register. What we ordered: We dined for a total of 3 persons. 1) Gyoza - This came with 5 pieces. Much smaller than I thought, but these were absolutely delicious. It was filled with pork and chicken and paired well with the sauce. 2) Mogu Chicken - My cousin ordered this as an appetizer. These were so mouth watering. Perfectly fried and crispy. Don’t forget to dip it in the sauce for extra flavor. 3) Karaage Bowl - My partner ordered this rice dish. Mogu chicken, rice, scallions, sriracha mayo. He felt there could’ve been more Mogu chicken because there was a lot of leftover rice. Though, he still enjoyed it. 4) Tokyo Mazemen - My cousin ordered this dish. For those who don’t know, Mazemen is a Japanese, noodle, broth-less dish served with oil and toppings. This specifically contained spicy minced pork, poached egg, scallions, chives, minced garlic, fish umami, seaweed flakes. They also had instructions on how to properly eat Mazemen on their menus and walls. They later brought a tiny bowl of rice. My cousin loved this dish! It wasn’t too salty, and everything paired well together. 5) Spicy California Tonkotsu - I ordered a ramen bowl. This contained pork, chicken broth, sliced pork chashu, scallions, soft boiled egg, woodear mushroom, seaweed. It wasn’t spicy until I dumped the entire spicy chili sauce in. The soup was flavorful afterwards. They were generous with the toppings, but I wish it had more than 2 pieces of pork. Pricing: I think we can all agree this inflation is wild. At this point, $$$ is considered the average price range now. We were able to share everything between the 3 of us. Portions were definitely fulfilling. We’d come back to try the happy hour.

Diners rave about the generous fish-to-rice ratio, ensuring you get your money's worth with every bite.
This place is great, this was my first time here. My wife and I got the Bento dinner and the Dinner roll combo. The food was fresh and delicious. We even had enough to take home. Free ice cream too. Rolls are a little price though

This place is OK. It does have good service. Walter was my waiter and he was really nice. My complaint was the sushi. The fish to rice portion is good but when the rice portion is the same size as the wrapper of a straw it isn't much. I think a short and thicker piece of fish would be better. Also my wife's fried rolls came out cold. We ordered 3 different times and each time the fried item was cold. I also never received 3 items that I ordered and the teriyaki sauce was super salty. To sum it up nice staff and atmosphere, mediocre sushi at best. There must be a lot of kids that don't know real sushi posting reviews because this is 2.5 stars max.

My wife and I wanted to get go to a Sushi Restaurant by the University of Fullerton to Celebrate our 27th Wedding Anniversary. Found Sushi 4 U and that the four star was good enough to go to for the first time. We were right. Service was great and waiters were fast with smiles, orders, and refills. We also liked the bite size cuts that did not fall apart so easily after a soy sauce dip. Our hot sushi rolls came hot and stayed hot till it was gone and that took a while. 3 stages came and went and we were all delicious and well presented. Prices were also fair and reasonable. Very good experience will visit again.

My son and I went there today. Excellent! Great variety and the size of the fish very generous, not like some all you can eat sushi place's. Service was great and all very friendly. Couldn't recommend it more!

This is by far my favorite sushi place. The fish is always fresh and the service is friendly. Plus, the selection is awesome. Definitely try the "Love Love" and/or the red blossom roll. Soooo good. There is plenty of seating. So, it's also great for larger parties.

I enjoyed the food here. The sushi selection isnt particularly large, but you will definitely find a few items that you will love. I highly recommend the 911 roll, which is my favorite s. Keep in mind they currently have a college student special so be sure to bring your school ID.
Joshua J — Google review
I'm happy I tried this place out. The quality of the sushi was good and so was the service. I don't recall my waiters name but he was very attentive and even apologized for the wait when it had only been about 5 minutes. The all-you-can-eat sushi has 2 options for both lunch and dinner. (Prices are based on my recollection and might be slightly different) Lunch A - $15.99 Lunch B - $17.99 Dinner A - $18.99 Dinner B - $24.99 "A" gives you choice between the first half of the sushi menu, "B" gives you it all. I went with Dinner B and feel it was worth the $. If you're up in the air about this place, give it a try, I think you'll like it. I give it 5 stars because I've had tons of sushi and I feel between the price, service and quality of food, it deserves it. The rice is also just right, not too sweet like some others.

So good. A few friends and I had the all you can eat Sushi, it was great, the rolls were good, the beers was super cold, we got a special price since we ordered two at a time. & The music was great, I was surprised, it was new pop EDM music, which sounds off, but it felt great, it sent the tone for the atmosphere.

Sushi Atelier is a standout gem in Irvine's vibrant culinary landscape, celebrated for its innovative approach to Japanese cuisine. This restaurant goes beyond traditional sushi, offering a diverse menu that includes grilled and simmered dishes like teriyaki and ramen, ensuring there's something for everyone. Each dish at Sushi Atelier is meticulously crafted, transforming meals into artistic experiences that delight the senses.
My biggest disappointment upon arriving in the USA was the local sushi restaurants. But I was incredibly happy to find you – your sushi reminds me of the taste of home. They are fresh, rich in flavor, made with real cream cheese, and so convenient to order! You truly are the best, and I’m so glad I found you! I’ve ordered from you for the 20th time now, and not once have I regretted it. I was also so happy to see that you finally made sweet sushi! When I see negative reviews from ‘locals,’ I realize one thing: these people don’t understand real sushi and should stick to local sushi restaurants because they don’t deserve yours. This is my honest review for you.

I want to leave my honest review. I have never been a big fan of sushi, but after trying sushi from Sushi Atelier I was impressed, this is the best sushi of my life. I am very glad that I found this site. Excellent service, everything is very tasty and high quality, without a doubt I can recommend this delivery to everyone, you should definitely try it. They also have other Asian dishes, which I'm also delighted with. I absolutely love it !!!!
Evin O — Google review
Sushi Atelier is a takeout-only spot, and it’s… okay. The sushi is fresh enough and packaged neatly, but there’s nothing particularly memorable about it. It does the job if you’re nearby and need a quick sushi fix, but it doesn’t stand out in terms of flavor or variety. Overall, it’s a decent option for convenience, but not something you’d go out of your way for.

If you crave rolls you got used to in Russia/Ukraine/Belarus, run, don’t walk! Huge, delicious, and packed with fresh ingredients. If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary experience, look no further than Shootz! Nestled in the vibrant Los Rios area, this eatery offers a unique coastal vibe that perfectly complements its delicious plate lunch menu. The standout dish is undoubtedly their signature butter kimchi katsu, which boasts rich buttery flavors and savory notes from the kimchi brine.
Shoots has an awesome dish called the Brulé spam musubi. What a great idea on our old Hawaiian favorite. Their Brulé sauce that they put on the musubi, or rice cake is fantastic. They’re chicken. Katsu with their kimchi sauce is also very delicious. The atmosphere of the River Street marketplace where this is located gets a little crowded but on the other hand, there are multiple vendors there offering pasta, Mediterranean food, Mexican food, etc. something for everyone in the family. There is no doubt it is great fun to walk down the isle and check out all the vendors, but I will always stop and get the spam musubi from here.

First time here and will definitely be coming back. Delicious katsu butter chicken. Some of the best Musubi I've ever had. And delicious tropical tea flavors. We ordered a family platter of kimchi butter shrimp and chicken. Both were delicious! The staff were accommodating and gracious. We were able to sub out the Musubi that comes with each platter for extra rice and macaroni salad. The Katsu chicken was mouth watering and seasoned to perfection! They do not skimp on the shrimp platter here, either. Plenty of perfectly crispy shrimps to go around. Both the shrimp and chicken were well complimented by the Mac salad and seasoned rice. 10/10 recommend!

Took over 30 minutes to get my one chicken katsu plate. Went up to ask if they knew how much longer it would take and they said it would be out soon. I stood there for 5 minutes and watched them set two bags on their counter and walk away. When I asked if any of those were mine they said the ticket system wasn’t working so they didn’t know. They asked what I ordered and confirmed one of those were mine. They were friendly and food was good

Ninjas With Appetite is a food truck that offers inventive Asian-inspired dishes with a touch of Mexican influence. The menu features delicious bowls and burritos, including the popular half and half burrito. Customers rave about the housemade teriyaki sauce and commend the friendly service. Many are willing to travel long distances just to savor the flavors offered by this unique establishment, making it a must-try for those seeking Asian comfort food with a twist.
One of the best places to have some Asian comfort food. My husband and I drove about an hour and a half just to try this place. And yes it is worth every inch of hype. We ordered there half and half burrito and we both got a bowl to take home for dinner. We introduced our friends to this spot. Definitely one to keep in the books.
Jazmon S — Google review
Came in at 11 to beat the lunch crowd. I was the second customer inside. Still took 20 minutes to get a burrito - and the only thing to hit the grill was when they warmed up my tortilla. Decent enough food. Not worth the wait, especially when the food sits in a warmer tray all day. Update: came in after the lunch crowd this time. Waited a few minutes for someone to notice I had entered. Music was so loud even shouting hello didn't get anyone's attention. Music was turned down once I was noticed, but I still couldn't hear the lady trying to take my order. Probably my last visit here.
Brian G — Google review
I ordered the beef burrito. It was pretty small which is surprising because the pictures make it seem bigger, definitely not $8 worth. The taste was good but it didn't come with any cheese so I assume you have to ask for that yourself. It would of been nice if they asked instead of leaving me to figure that out after.

Stopped on our way back from out of town. My Sweetie had the cheese steak teriyaki burrito, and I had the chicken teriyaki burrito. Have seen pictures of this place on Facebook and heard how good it was. Well, that it is. If you like spicy, gotta try their chili sauce on your meal, very good (and hot). Will be back again for sure. If you want something a little different, then you gotta try this place.

Great food. It's famous for their bowls and mix Spanish food. Overall it's great but parking sucks. Also be aware on weekdays during lunch time waiting time can be up to 20 minutes. Calling a head of time to beat wait time.
