Thai restaurant
Zaab Zaab is a vibrant Thai restaurant that has quickly gained popularity since its opening in April 2022. Located in Elmhurst, it offers an inviting and colorful dining space indoors as well as an outdoor area. The menu features authentic flavors from Thailand's Northeastern Isaan region, with dishes like Larb ped Udon, gaeng om with beef shank, and moo tod pla ra being standout favorites.
I was here a few times before. If you are craving authentic Isaan food, then you are at the right spot! Delicious authentic isaan food and their Thai Iced Tea is great too! The waiters are very friendly as well. Highly recommend it! But be careful with the spice level!
Sirilak M — Google review
As a Thai food lover, this place was amazing!!! We ordered a bunch, including the papaya salad, the rib eye steak, and their grilled fish. This place offers authentic northern Thai food so you know they won’t hold back with their spices! Papaya salad has a rly good kick to it so be aware but it has a a great balance between spicy and freshness. The rib eye steak was super juicy and tender and their grilled dish was also amazing/ super crisp and perfectly cooked. All of the dishes paired so well with rice and we ate it 🆙

My god! Very yummy This is real thai food. You can feel the same in Thailand. I dont know why I come back again at zaab zaab 3 time.

Friendly staff. Great food. Was not disappointed with the seafood hotpot. Fried fish was so good. Picture was the aftermath of the soup. Wine and beer only.
A S — Google review
This restaurant is located in Woodside's Thai Town and offers traditional Thai cuisine. Compared to many Thai restaurants in Manhattan, their dishes are more traditional and flavorful, with some options not commonly found elsewhere. For those wanting to experience authentic Thai food, this place is an excellent choice. Even if you order common Thai dishes that you often have at other Thai restaurants, you'll notice a distinct difference in the taste.
D G — Google review
My experience being here couple time the food is definitely excellent and what made the atmosphere even greater for dine in my server mimi and also ben they both are doing amazing great team work ..definitely recommend the fried rice and also som-tum remind me authentic like what I had at chiang mai and isaan during my trip 😁
RC T — Google review
Great food! Large portions. Even if you’re from manhattan the small trip out is definitely worth it! The seating is a bit awkward if it’s more than just two people would be my only downside. I know they recently opened up a Brooklyn location so I might try that one to see if they resolved the awkward seating at that location. But again the food is great and totally worth it!
DC — Google review
A single spot close to LaGuardia airport that offers really good Thai food there’s other Thai food in the area. This place stands out as a more authentic experience. I started off slowly by just getting the chicken pad Thai and it was really well-made. I venture to a place across the street wasn’t as good. I’m definitely going back to the spot as likely my to go the delayed flightlocation in the area. Parking is a bit challenging, just like the rest of Queens

Dumpling restaurant
Chinese restaurant
White Bear is a compact Chinese eatery known for its spicy homemade wontons. It's a popular spot in Flushing, New York, and has garnered praise from various sources. The signature dish, Wontons with Hot Sauce (Number 6), is highly recommended and celebrated for its diverse textures and bold flavors. While the menu offers a variety of options, the Number 6 is often suggested by the staff due to its popularity.
The number six!! So good! 10 flavorful chili dumplings for 10 bucks. Great deal. Eat it in the street. Or in the park down the block, since there is no seating at this walk-up window. Definitely worth it. My wife got the number 17. Which she enjoyed. But maybe not as much as my 6.
Carl T — Google review
I used to come to this place before the hype in 2015 and dumplings were good. I went recently and decided to try their noodles and was so disappointed. It tastes like something I can make at my house. Boil noodles and add chili sauce on top. Worst part is they charge you $10 for a half empty bowl, they don't even fill up the bowl with noodles. I do not recommend getting the noodles here. In the picture is half eaten noodles but there were barely any to begin with. It's worth $5 at most.
Christine V — Google review
A good place to grab a quick bite in Flushing! It is only take out now. I ordered the #6 Wontons with chili oil. It is a good portion for the price, only $10, cash only. I wish there was a little more meat in them than dough, but still good. Sauce isn’t too spicy, it’s just right.
Elizabeth P — Google review
We stopped by for their popular chili wontons, and they lived up to the hype. The wontons had a nice balance of tender wrapper and well-seasoned meat, and the portion was generous for the price—like many Chinatown stalls, it’s a great value, $10 for 12 wontons. Bring cash! The chili-onion sauce was delicious: flavorful, a little kick but not overpowering, and it tied everything together perfectly. This is more of a take-and-go spot than a sit-down, but it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and craving something quick and satisfying.
Connie K — Google review
Cash only. Takeout only. But the wontons are worth it (nr 6)! Absolute fire! Also had their dan dan noodles, which are not traditional sichuan style, but more northern. Can also fully recommend!
Anton S — Google review
We had the chance to explore Flushing for some great food and decided to start with White Bear. We went with their most recommended dish—the wontons with chili oil. The portion was generous, and the spice level was perfectly balanced. The wontons themselves were incredibly flavorful and packed with filling. We shared one order among our group, but it was so good we were tempted to go back for another!
Hannah — Google review
Ordered #6 wonton chili oil. While it looks decent, as an asian there was no flavor nor was it spicy. If you want good wonton chili oil, I highly suggest to go somewhere else! Too much hype for something way below mediocre.
Jennifer L — Google review
Small portion, good flavor. I waited 10 minutes with only 4 orders in front of me and they didn't have dumplings, so I ordered the wontons everyone orders. The food was fine if you are in the area, but nothing special, so in my opinion it's not worth standing in line, and much less taking a trip to Flushing just for this.

Izakaya restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Izakaya MEW is a late-night spot offering a variety of Japanese dishes in a casual tavern-like setting. The menu includes soba salad, sushi, yakitori, and other Japanese fare to accompany drinks like beer, sake, and cocktails. The space has an energetic vibe with loud music and good service.
A friend of mine suggested this place since he's already been before. He made a reservation for six on a Friday night. I loved the vibes and atmosphere. Everything we ordered was fantastic. They also offer some pretty fun, mocktails, perfect since many of us do not drink. Service was fast and efficient. I would definitely come back.
Caitlin A — Google review
We recently dined at this Japanese restaurant and overall had a wonderful experience! The dishes were flavorful, beautifully presented, and full of savory goodness. Every plate brought something unique to the table — from the perfectly seasoned fried rice topped with an onsen egg, to the rich and satisfying omusoba drizzled with mayo and okonomiyaki sauce, and the crunchy sushi rolls bursting with freshness and texture. The tempura avocado tacos were a fun and creative twist, and the cheese fries offered a comforting, cheesy bite. The restaurant itself had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were attentive — they checked in several times to ensure our food arrived properly and that we were satisfied, which we really appreciated. However, we did find the cheese fries a bit too greasy and heavy, leaving a noticeable oily aftertaste. That was the only dish that didn’t quite meet the high standard of the others. Another small disappointment was being charged $1.50 extra for hot sauce — it was unexpected and felt a bit unnecessary for such a simple request. Despite these minor issues, the food was overall delicious and savory, and the service was kind and attentive. If not for the extra charge for the hot sauce and the overly oily fries, we’d gladly give them a full 5 stars. Still, this is a place we’d happily return to for another flavorful meal!
Sepideh S — Google review
The food here really impressed us, some of the best Japanese dishes we’ve had in a while. Everything was fresh, well-balanced, and full of flavour. It was definitely on the loud side inside, but once the food arrived, we didn’t mind at all. A great spot if you care more about taste than quiet.
Ana C — Google review
One of the best Izakaya in the city for both quality/variety of food, and reasonable prices. Located downstairs and always packed with diners. Seasonal specials like scallop skewers and regular items tartare, mentaiko udon, crudo & basque cheesecake all top notch. It was quite loud due to the packed seating and service a bit slow.
Jia S — Google review
Generally very reasonably priced with. Lot of Japanese pub food. The portions are fair. I recommend going with a small group so you can try/share things. The okonomiaki was pretty large. The mushrooms truffle ramen was very rich. The sushi rolls were yummy but hot dishes are a better value of food quantity for the money.
Jaye B — Google review
Really worth the long wait. The first thing we had was the mackerel, some of the best I had. I wonder if that sauce would go well with rice. Chicken nanban is a must get. The sauce is amazing either succulent chicken. Niku tofu, really good for sharing, warms you right up, delicious. Pork Katsu was great, but my friend said the pork was dry which I thought was moist. It was incredibly loud, somewhat hard to talk but I think it makes a pretty good date place.
Leo Z — Google review
I had such a great experience at Izakaya Mew in New York! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was fresh, flavorful. The prices were very reasonable for the quality, which made it even better. The service was excellent too — friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. It’s definitely one of those places you want to come back to again and again. Highly recommended!
Tim B — Google review
Busy and lively basement izakaya. The Yuzu Kiki cocktail was nice, kind of like a sparkling margarita. Food was just average, more like cafeteria dishes. The Frozen Kirin Beer looked cool but wasn’t cold enough and didn’t taste great. Each dish is cheap, and most of the guests looked pretty young. Fun vibe if you like crowds, but not really for the food.

Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Totto Ramen Midtown East is a bustling and snug Japanese ramen spot that opened in 2010, offering chicken-based broth with thin noodles. With locations in Midtown West and Hells Kitchen, this beloved destination for ramen enthusiasts provides a cozy ambiance and authentic flavors. Whether enjoying their signature ramen varieties or seasonal specials, Totto Ramen offers a comforting celebration of traditional Japanese noodle craftsmanship.
Quick service and good food. The atmosphere is very casual and friendly. We ordered three different types of ramen: the totto ramen with chicken, the spicy mega ramen with pork, and spicy miso ramen with pork. I going to give this place four stars until I tried the spicy mega ramen. It is so good!! Rich, garlicky, savory… definitely one of the tastiest ramens I’ve had in NY. My brother liked the ramen here better than the one he had in Japan. He liked the totto ramen the best for its clean savory chicken base soup.
H Y — Google review
Tried out the summer special tsukemen at @totto_ramen and the broth is very thick and has a slight citrusy flavor to make it more refreshing. Noodles are pretty bouncy and chewy. Overall good but not the best I’ve had in NYC. It would be a lot better if the broth can come out hotter.
Vicki — Google review
A classic ramen institution in Midtown East, Totto Ramen never disappoints. 🍜 I recommend trying their original signature ramen bowl with a side of pork buns. If you come here for lunch during the work week, try to arrive earlier than usual. It can get busy!
Alex G — Google review
I've been looking for a good ramen place around this area and I think I found one. Mega Paitan is their best seller and I was not disappointed. Service is okay, making sure we have water. The place is nice, they have a bar seat where you can oversee the workers making ramen.
Dani — Google review
We have been trying a lot of Ramen in the past few months and to be really frank the ramen was pretty ordinary. We went here as we read some good reviews. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Nanban which was good (the only thing I did not like was the sauce was poured over it, I like my sauces on the side) and the Spicy Paitan Ramen (they have Pork and Chicken options). The ramen was nowhere close to other ramen places in the city.
Pratik G — Google review
This was an amazing experience! i got their Pork bun and the Spicy Mega Pai-tan bowl. They were so fücking good. The pork bun tasted like heaven. The ramen bowl was to die forrrr. My friend got the Fire bird Paitan(i hope that’s the right name) and she loved it toooo. I tried Japanese soda for the first time and it had a very unique taste. It didn’t taste like any of the popular sodas, it just tasted…different (get it?) 10/10 experience. I will definitely be back <3
STEPHANIE M — Google review
I had the classic chicken paitan ramen. It was tasty and decently priced given the size and toppings. The pork char sui was very good. I was disappointed that there wasn’t really any lighter broth options on the paper menu and that the miso was still with the paitan broth. There were many individual diners seated at large tables when they could have eaten at the bar. There is a B health rating as of December 2022. I’d eat it again but will try other places.
Jaye B — Google review
Great flavor. I would recommend the spicy mega ramen. The spicy ramen is not very spicy, so dont worry. The pork version is tasty but very salty. The chicken version might be better if you dont like salty foos.

Noodle shop
Ippudo NY, located in the East Village of New York City, is a popular Japanese eatery known for its delicious ramen dishes and pork buns. Despite being always packed, the rich and complex soup broths along with perfectly cooked noodles make it worth the wait. The specialty here is tonkotsu ramen, featuring silky pork bone broth with tender braised pork, mushrooms, scallions, and bamboo shoots.
I am a big fan of Ramen and even this was beyond my expectations. I had the best gyoza I can remember, and the Yuzu Shoyu had an amazingly flavorful broth. The atmosphere was excellent and the service was very good. I would return again, and recommend it to anyone for a love of Japanese food.
Sylvain B — Google review
Absolutely loved the food! It was amazing all of it. We got some of bao buns i had the port and the veggie one and both was absolutely amazing! I have to highlight the veggie bao bun because it was a light crunch with the soft bun that was flavorflu and delicious that i honestly would go back to NY jusf for this bun. Sushi was delicious and so was the ramen and the peppers we got for an appetizer! Everything we ate was incredible. The atmosphere was a really incredible vibe and you got to watch them make the ramen too! Definitely would go back.
Shannon — Google review
not bad, but not as impressive as I expected. The ramen had good flavor, but the broth felt a bit lighter than the original in Japan. The noodles were nice, though the portion felt small for the price. Service was friendly and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but overall, it didn’t quite capture that “wow” factor. Still, it’s a decent spot if you’re craving ramen in the city.
Elizabeth W — Google review
Top notch service and atmosphere. Had the karage, spicy gyoza and dragon tantan ramen. Wasn’t blown away by anything, but the ingredients were high quality and presentation was good. Would order a different bowl or ramen on my next visit.
Cody C — Google review
What can I tell you…. One of my fav ramen places. Took my kids out for a meal… had a GREAT time. I got a special ramen that came in extra large. Apparently I was one of 2 ppl to order extra large in the past 2 - 3 months lol… I had no idea how big it was. It was frigggin enormous. I could not finish even with the help of my 16 yr old. Had to pack for home. But good lord was it tasty. The food was on point with broth rich with flavor and melty meats. Garlic toppings, spicy flakes and extra sauces galore. This meal was everything my boys and I needed at the end of a great day in the city.
David H — Google review
Always love going to Ippudo! This was my first time going to this location and the vibes were great. Never a long wait and service was awesome. Tried the miso ramen this time and it was creamy and delicious- pork super soft and toppings added great flavor. The lychee soda 🤩 probably one of the best sodas ever
Chelsea P — Google review
I came here this past Saturday and was disappointed. my husband and I have been here many times we and we think the chef changed as the food was different and tasted different. Ordered the karaage chicken and it used to come with a side dipping sauce and it came plain this time. we ordered the karaka spicy ramen and the pork has changed as it was basically a slice of pork and not their past thick, charred pork. we didn’t enjoy it. it was way too dark in there as well.
Jennifer T — Google review
When walking into Ipudo I was greeted by the staff and with no wait was brung to my own table with a small cube having QR codes on all the sides. (I went to IPPUDO when it was happy hour) My order: Pork bun ($10) - the bun is really soft, the pork melted in my mouth, the lettuce has a nice crunch. The pork bun is a must try if you eat here!! SHIROMARU MOTOAJI ($20) - the noodles are good, broth tastes normal, the Bamboo shoots are a little bit tough but edible, and the chashu tasted like ham. If you really want a pork bun or want a cozy and relaxing place to hangout either with friends or by yourself, Ipudo is a good restaurant to be at. Preferably at happy hour if you want great food at a good price.

Sushi restaurant
Ootoya Times Square is a sleek and refined restaurant offering Japanese home-cooking favorites like yakitori, soba, and hot pots. The generous portions of extra-crispy tonkatsu and simple preparations of grilled fish make it a great spot for a post-work or pre-theater meal. The Oyako don and Salmon Tonyu Nabe are well-seasoned dishes with creamy textures, although some elements may not meet professional standards in terms of quality.
Great fish dishes here. Tons of different menus make it a bit confusing but that means more choices. Good sake options and various smaller dishes. Miso fish was my choice and a great one.
Albert K — Google review
First meal in NYC. Waited for 5 minutes and sat on a bar table on Sunday night. Recommend Washu beef sukiyaki nabe (added a onsen tamago), Katsu toji with chicken, and beef potato croquette. All of them are tasty, and I feel it worthwhile to add rice to make it a set (really good Japanese rice). Paid 90 (before tax and tip) for 2 people, but in general I feel it a bit pricey though (but maybe that’s reasonable price on time square… I’m not sure) No one added water to our table so I feel the service could be improved.
Shiki — Google review
Ootoya in Midtown is my go-to spot for authentic Japanese set meals in a cozy atmosphere. I enjoyed everything about our visit. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and felt like a comforting Japanese home-cooked meal. We ordered a kids’ meal for my toddler, and he absolutely loved it! The food came in a rocket-shaped plate, which made the experience fun and exciting. The seating can be a bit tight depending on where you’re placed, but it’s manageable. A great spot for anyone craving authentic Japanese flavors with a warm, welcoming vibe.
Anna — Google review
First visit to this location, usually going to the Chelsea branch. As usual, good quality Japanese food at pretty good prices and good service in a pleasant spot, convenient to the theater district. Recommend!
ESB N — Google review
I've had unagi (eel) quite a few times but the unagi at Ootoya was spectacular. It was well cooked and tender. The rice portion was just enough to satisfy and the sweet soy sauce gives it the classic touch. The salmon sashimi was tender and flavorful with hints of citrus. The warabi mochi was made in house and was soft and slightly chewy. The brown sugar syrup at the bottom was a little too strong for my taste but the mochi was delicious. The mochi was definitely more delicate than what you can buy at the Japanese grocery store. Everything I ordered at Ootoya exceeded my expectations. I would definitely go there again and try other things on their menu.
Marcel R — Google review
The food itself is top tier. I got the butterfish set and each dish was finely crafted with its own flavorful essence. The salad and radish have a more subtle flavor, but the punchy tang of the salted fish and soaked tofu balls balance it out. All I’d say is it’d be perfect if my data or wifi worked inside. The waitress also forgot my soup spoon lol
Hsin-Roe P — Google review
This place is very authentic, coming from someone that has been to Japan a handful of times. My party all got the pork or chicken tonksu so I cant comment on the rest of the food but as I looked around it also appeared very nice. The vibe was chill and relaxed woth amazing staff making sure we were well taken care of. If your in the area i highly recommend this spot.
Ivan G — Google review
I had a very disappointing experience at Ootoya in New York today. I ordered the Washu Beef Sukiyaki Nabe set, but the pot itself looked dirty and unwashed for a long time, which was very off-putting. The broth was overly sweet, the beef was tough and dry, and the scallions were just old green leaves. The grilled salmon tasted unfresh with a strong unpleasant smell, and the ikura (salmon roe) seemed like it had been sitting for 2–3 weeks — overly salty and fishy. The sashimi was far from fresh, the color already looked off as if the fish had dried out, and even the wasabi was darkened. In Japan, Ootoya is known as a casual, affordable spot for decent Japanese comfort food. But here in New York, the portion is small, the quality is poor, and the price is shockingly high — $50 for a set like this is unacceptable. Honestly, I don’t recommend coming here. This experience was far from what Ootoya is supposed to represent, and it’s disappointing to see Japanese food culture presented this way.

Udon noodle restaurant
Sobaya is a traditional Japanese restaurant that specializes in serving homemade soba and udon noodles, along with other authentic Japanese dishes. The dining experience offers a taste of Japan with its clean and classic ambiance. The menu features various options for enjoying the buckwheat noodles, either with dipping sauce or in a flavorful broth. Early bird specials are available, offering an assortment of appetizers, tempura, sushi, and dessert alongside a bowl of noodles at a great value.
Holy crap! This place was so good. We stopped in on the way and we're just blown away by how authentic and tasty the food was. The chicken nanban was one of the best things I've ever eaten. And the rice bowls looked so good. Definitely stop by and try this! I also really loved their hot green tea
Saahil P — Google review
I’ve gone to Sobaya even before their Michelin credentials. I was recommended here by a family member and recently rediscovered it while doing some solo-exploring. I always grab their daily lunch combo as it gives you a bang for your buck. (If you’re a college student in the area, you’d be a fool not to give this place a chance.) Both hot and cold soba options are solid (my brother prefers cold, I like hot) and we adore their dons. There was one time I found something wrong with my order and they were so apologetic- immediately replacing my dish with a fresh one. I was happy to receive a fresh one (tempura deliciously hot out of the frier) and finished. That’s when they gave me a free green tea crème brûlée for my troubles. They didn’t have to do that, but they were so kind and profusely apologizing for the earlier blunder that I couldn’t help but tip well and applaud their service. My water was never empty! All the food was delicious. Not too salty, not too sweet, but just right. Love Sobaya and will definitely keep coming back :)
Joan V — Google review
As expected, the place was quite busy due to the hot weather. Watching a video of soba being made while waiting helped ease the boredom, and the food itself wasn’t bad. The tempura was crispy and tasty, but the dipping sauce for the soba was a bit too salty, and overall, the soba wasn’t particularly more flavorful compared to other soba places. Considering how busy the restaurant was, the staff seemed understaffed. The team was moving around busily, but things didn’t seem well-organized, making their efforts appear somewhat inefficient. The host also came across as unfriendly. Rather than repeatedly telling every guest, “Can I put my name on the waitlist?” and “Just wait here,” it would probably be less frustrating for everyone—and easier for the staff—if they used a proper waitlist system like many other restaurants do. It felt like a missed opportunity to improve both customer experience and staff workflow. One staff member was clearing tables, wiping surfaces, handling new napkins, chopsticks, and cups, and then using the same hand to scoop ice from the ice bin and serve drinks—all without taking a single moment to sanitize or wash their hands. It definitely didn’t feel hygienic or sanitary. When I first received my food, something felt off. I noticed that the dishes were placed upside down on the tray, so I had to rearrange them myself. I understand they might have been busy, but it really showed how unprofessional the service was.

Didn’t expect to enjoy this experience so much! Very kind service and super accommodating. I love the ambiance too! But mostly, the food. Truly the type of a meal you’d get in Japan. High quality soba and fish. Spotlight on lunch menus — great value!

Finally got around to coming here for the lunch special I chose the eel with cold soba noodles. Honestly, i would be happy eating a lunch set everyday. This was a perfectly balance meal and got me the right amount of full. The eel was fatty and super flavorful, the dipping sauce for the cold noodles was okay tasted like a variation of soy sauce. My friend got the hot soba which i would recommend eating quickly as the noodles become soggy. Lastly, the green tea was amazing!! Would deff come pack the place was busy around 1 and then at 2/3 became extremely empty.

The cod fish was absolutely outstanding. I finished every bite, even the soba broth. The space wasn’t too crowded and the servers was nice, which made for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.

All the dishes stayed true to the basics. Among the items we ordered, the Una-Ju Don was the best, while the tuna in the Tuna Avocado Don was slightly disappointing. I visited with my son in the early evening, and it was a comfortable meal without a crowded atmosphere.

Soba Totto is an authentic Japanese restaurant in the heart of Manhattan, serving up delicious bowls of soba noodles and skewers (yakitori) made with thinly sliced pork. The menu is limited only to dinner, but lunchtime options include all-inclusive bowls that are perfect for a quick and easy meal. As an added bonus, the restaurant has a lively atmosphere with seats at the bar to watch the pros work.
Had dinner at Izakaya Futago in Midtown and it was a great experience. The space feels cozy and sleek, perfect for an after-work meal with drinks. We ordered the grilled eel with simmered egg, which was rich and buttery, and the All Stars sushi spoon, great bites w/ high quality fish. The large yakitori platter came with a great variety. The gyudon was really comforting. Their 4-stacking soba came with 3 different sobas and tempura. Ended with the chestnut ice cream which was delicious perfect: Everything was beautifully plated and balanced, definitely a spot I’d go back to.

This is a very quiet, relaxing place to eat some real Japanese food. It feels and tastes exactly like the food I ate in Japan. Its nice to eat here once but after that you dont really need to experience it again and again. The service is excellence and you can tell there is a high level of attention to detail in everything this restaurant does.

Never again. Was going to Sakagura, then saw the Michelin guide tag and got curious... big mistake. Tried the lunch set- price was okay for what you get but flavor was super average. Service was terrible, and food took forever. Wouldn't go back.

Very good experience. Lots of selection. Tried the sushi, which was interesting since it’s on a spoon. The yakitori was tasty and the chicken was filling. I especially liked the don rice bowl. One of my favorites with the chicken and egg. Food was served fast and fresh. Servers were very attentive.

This place is such a hidden gem. The second you walk in, it feels like you’ve stepped straight into a cozy Tokyo izakaya — warm wooden decor, lively chatter in Japanese all around, and that perfect mix of chill and energy. We ordered a bunch of small plates to share, and every dish hit just right. The Tako Wasa was the perfect starter — cold, briny, and a little spicy kick to wake up your palate. The Aburi Mentaiko came out warm and melty, smoky from the torch and seriously addictive. The Ankimo Ponzu was rich and silky, balanced by the citrusy tang — one of our favorites of the night. The Emerald Oyster was a splurge but so worth it — super fresh and beautifully presented. The 5 Stack Soba looked impressive and tasted even better — chilled noodles with just the right texture, perfect for sharing. We also tried the chicken liver and gizzard skewers, both grilled perfectly with that savory charcoal flavor you only get from a real yakitori setup. Prices were really reasonable for the quality, and the staff were friendly but not hovering — they let you enjoy your food and conversation. Overall, just a great spot with authentic vibes, good food, and fair prices. Exactly the kind of place you stumble upon once and keep coming back to.

Absolutely loved my experience at Soba Totto! Excellent service, chill vibes, and delicious food! Tried cold soba for the first time and was not disappointed. Highly recommend the 5-tier New Totto Soba! So fun to eat and great to sample several dishes. Will be coming back :)

It wasn’t as nice as we were expecting but it was alright. The food tasted decent but the price felt high for what it was worth; the portions were on the smaller side and there was barely any meat in my niku soba. I also barely touched my cherry blossom cocktail, as it tasted like a party drink rather than a well balanced cocktail. I’d recommend getting sake instead. Overall the two sobas and one drink didn’t feel worth the almost $100 bill (incl tip) we paid. But the restaurant itself wasn’t bad. If you do go, you should use the discount on my profile to make it more worth your money.

Asian Jewels is a bustling venue in Queens that offers a standard selection of dim sum in a large, traditionally decorated space. It's known for serving some of the best dim sum in the city, attracting lively groups of families and friends. The cavernous dining rooms with red-and-gold decor and chandeliers can accommodate large gatherings.
First time dining here tonight after reading their reviews. We order chicken meehoon and soft tofu with veggies. Both dishes tasted great and not too salty. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Wendy T — Google review
I had a fun time here with 6 of my pals. Unfortunately we came at 3:33pm, unaware that the carts ended at 3:30. The sign said the dimsun ended at 4:00 not 3:30. We were still able to get dim-sun but just had to order them specifically and wait longer. The dim-sun was pretty tasty, although I would have liked the pork buns more if they had more meat inside. The soup dumplings also didn’t have much soup insight which was a bit disappointing. The tripe was great though. We had a great time but I recommend coming before 3:30pm for the best experience.

Good Chinese food in Flushing! They have a large space with lots of tables for big parties. They also have several private rooms available. The food is pretty standard compared to other restaurants in the area. One thing I didn’t like was that a lot of their sauces tasted similar with a hint of tomato like for the Peking Duck and the Pork Chops. Price was a bit expensive. Service was good. Parking lot with valet in the back, but gets hectic at the end.
Very R — Google review
Nice authentic dim sum experience. There are a lot of options on push carts. Although , a lot of dishes include shrimp which my husband is allergic to so more limited for us. Favorites include the chicken feet, meat and taro wrapped in tofu skin, and coconut pudding. We got there early when they opened around 9 on the weekend, however the kitchen doesn’t open until 10:30 so many things on the dim sum special list weren’t available.
Isabelle J — Google review
So much good dim sum that gets pushed around on carts. Cart ladies can get a bit aggressive but you’ll never lack food options. Service is overall a bit inconsistent and all over the place but you’ll adapt. Egg tarts here were very good.
Rovik R — Google review
We loved the ham sui gok (crispy dumpling), pineapple BBQ pork buns, and the surprisingly good durian mochi! Some items were less exciting though—the tofu pudding lacked flavor, and the congee with century egg and pork was a bit underwhelming. But overall, the experience was great, with friendly service.
J ( — Google review
Decent place to get dim sum. My favorite is the steamed shrimp ball with bits of water chestnut for the light crunch cooked in egg white sauce. Do go early to avoid crowds on weekends.
Alan F — Google review
I came here with a couple of friends for an early dinner on a random saturday. We were seated immediately despite the restaurant being quote busy. Before we even sat down, the servers were already offering us plates—so be prepared to start eating right away! The food itself was delicious and very unique for the american palate. My friends and I particularly liked the siu mai and cheong fun. However the experience can feel overwhelming if you’re not familiar with dim sum.The dishes come around quickly, and it was sometimes hard to understand what the staff were saying due to both the noise level and a language barrier. Some of the items are pictured in the menu, and at the front of the restaurant there’s a complete list of items in both English and Chinese, which is really helpful. The dim sum servers were friendly and never too pushy, which I appreciated. The only downside was trying to flag down a regular waiter for some water. When we finally did get someones attention he was a bit rude and told us to wait though no one brought us water until we asked a different waiter 15 minutes later. Overall, the food makes this place worth visiting. It’s delicious and authentic. Be ready for a fast-paced, lively atmosphere, and maybe brush up on dim sum basics beforehand to make the experience smoother.

Tonchin New York is a branch of a Tokyo-based chain that offers tonkotsu ramen, griddled dishes, and fried chicken. This izakaya-inspired eatery has been around for four years and originally opened in Japan almost three decades ago. The menu features a blend of Japanese and U.S. flavors, with the classic Tokyo tonkotsu ramen being the standout dish.
Walked in on a Friday night, had a 25 min wait. The edamame was a taste of Asian and Western fusion, I was a little surprised at first but it was delicious. The salad, I really LOVED their homemade dressing (as someone who hates salad dressing). The curry chicken wings were nice, really juicy but a little bit too salty. The matcha lemonade was great, not overly sweet like other places, and the waiter pours the matcha on top in front of me. To be honest, I enjoyed everything else more than the ramen, ironic cuz it’s a ramen place). The ramen is not bad, but just mediocre, so it didn’t really stand out from the others. The place is pretty popular so it was pretty packed and noisy, a little hard to hear people talk.
Ka N — Google review
Tonchin delivered a fantastic ramen experience. The dipping noodles were generous in portion and the broth was rich, authentic, and full of flavor. Service was excellent — friendly, accommodating, and unlike many other NYC spots, we never felt rushed. It made for a really comfortable dining experience. Definitely worth booking in advance if you want to secure a spot. Highly recommend dining here when in New York.

Busy, but worth the wait. Walk-in, had to wait for maybe 10 minutes by the bar. Waiting was made easy by super friendly bartender. Signature ramen was absolutely worth it , plus the cucumber salad and gyoza. Deep but not heavy , thin slices of pork , lovely texture of noodles, and super smiling staff. All the best to Tonchin crew from Norway!
Alexander L — Google review
Stumbled upon this place and it does remind me a little bit of Tokyo! The TSUKUNE bao was very flavorful. Even though the ramen were about $21-$22 it was still good. The thing that surprised me was how tender the roasted chasu pork was. You can tell the restaurant stayed busy but even as a walk in, the wait was 15-20 min. I would say 8.5 out of 10
Aslee V — Google review
Tonchin absolutely delivers one of the best ramen experiences in the city! From the moment the bowls arrive, you can tell each one is crafted with care -- rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and fresh, vibrant toppings that bring everything together beautifully. Every bite is balanced, comforting, and deeply satisfying without feeling heavy.
Aphirak B — Google review
Amazing Japanese ramen spot! Super humble yet definitely not low-key — it has received Michelin recommendations for 5 years in a row. We went for lunch during our visit to New York, and the value was incredible. For just $27, you get a starter and a main, including their classic tonkotsu ramen. Hearty soup and super generous portion of noodle which can be rare for ramen places. There are also other great options (some with a small extra cost). Highly recommend trying the Tsukemen as well — perfectly chewy noodles (served hot or cold) paired with a rich, concentrated dipping broth. Absolutely delicious! The restaurant is located right in the heart of Midtown, making it very easy to walk to from nearby tourist attractions. If you’re in town, don’t miss this place! We did walk-in on a weekday 10min after opening time. The restaurant can get busier so reservations are highly recommended for popular times (I.e weekends).

TLDR: decent ramen that was unfortunately just too oily 3.5 stars I like a good tonkotsu ramen but this ramen was just too oily. I usually like drinking the soup but the initial spoonful of soup coated my mouth with a thin layer of oil. The rest of the ramen was good but being unable to enjoy the broth on its own really hampered the experience.
Wilson T — Google review
I came here two times for lunch and for dinner. The ramen was tasty. It’s a nice place, but there is a small problem with the air after eating, our clothes smelled a lot like food. Everything was good, the waiters were kind and smiled. They also helped us choose some good sake. But the administrator was not nice. She talked to us in a rude and unfriendly way.

The menu features various styles of udon including chilled, dump style, and kake. In addition to its udon offerings, Samurai Mama also serves sushi and other appetizers like dumplings and salads.
We had a great experience in this place. I had the best gyoza of my life here and also the miso soup was delicious. The staff was so kind and professional. I also recommend the Mushroom ramen.

Peak rainy day destination. The best ramen & udon by far, and their ingredients are very high quality. The service is excellent as well, they let me and my friends stay and chat during the lunch/dinner swap which was incredibly kind. Love coming back to this place!

Vibes are immaculate ✨ I wish more restaurants had low lights and community tables. This made for good people watching while enjoying perfect Udon Curry with friends. The food is always so good—in particular stop in on cold nights or rainy days to warm up within these wooden walls. Groups, family, or date night—this place is it.

Grab a bowl of authentic udon served hot, cold, dip, or pour. The hot broth that I got tasted clean and balanced, no msg so it’s good to drink. The tempura probably would’ve been good except it got soggy in the broth so I would ask for it on the side next time.
Tiff L — Google review
Udon was pretty good, amazing noodles but broth was a bit boring. I'd go back for food except the service is really annoying. They are nice, but there were 3 separate waiters hovering over us, constantly someone refilling your cup that you took 1 sip from, removing something from the table the second you're done. They need to chill out a bit. We felt very hurried.

I had much higher hopes that what I actually ate. Maybe it was an off night, everything seemed basic and small for the price. Staff were super busy, but not attentive. Might have needed more? The food was just good, not bad, but also not the special that I was expecting to get. The portions were small. The place was loud. I would give it another chance, because my partner said it was really good.

The family-run business gained fame after being featured by Anthony Bourdain and has expanded to multiple locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Customers praise the delicious noodles and recommend trying the extra spicy option for a flavorful experience.
I used to work here a few years ago and recently stopped by again — the food and service are still just as great. The noodles were packed with flavor, and the spices smelled amazing. They’ve added two new drinks to the menu, and both were solid, but the orange one was my favorite — super refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. Glad to see they’re still killing it! I would like to say Chili spice sauce was good. Noodles spicy soup got me sweating 🥵. You can ordered your food from person or touch screen. Sometimes seat can be unavailable, it was a 4seat or 1 seated table . It feels like a grab and go food spot. I don’t mind going back.

I had actually seen this place on TV and wanted to give it a try. The pulled noodle dish was excellent and so tasty! I would have given the atmosphere a better reading, but a homeless man came in and sat and started giving me a hard time .

This place is the best I’ve had in a long time. Noodles are legit good and I’m Taiwanese American from LA and grew up eating food from the San Gabriel Valley there! I got the A1 Liang noodles and it was so flavorful; spice levels weren’t painful but it wasn’t shy either. The noodles had great chew and bite. The portions were very generous too. Worth the stop in. Just a few blocks from the metro too. So convenient!

Fantastic food. The in-house chili oil adds an amazing flavor to all their dishes. I got the Biang Biang noodles and the lamb RouJiaMo/“sandwich” and both were divine. I can’t handle that much spice so i chose the less spicy option. The service was fast and ordering was easy. Plus the prices were very reasonable. Would stop by for lunch again

They have a few vegan options. I had A1, N8, and the chrysanthemum tea. A1: Can’t go wrong with LiangPi. The seitan was a bit rubbery but everything else was perfect. 10/10 N8: No complaints. 10/10 Chrysanthemum tea: This tea tasted like what I’d imagine feet would taste like if it were a Lacroix drink. 5/10

Stopped by for lunch with my daughter. Zero regrets for going in there, folks. Staff was so friendly, but the ramen is seriously some of the best we’ve ever tried (and we hit plenty of ramen places). I got the vegan bowl, the grilled zucchini and tomato inside were perfection, but the broth was my favorite. Portions are really big! Try the cucumbers, too, they were a great appetizer. Seriously, go find this gem and check it out.

Really good ginger shoyu Ramen. Noodles were a great chewy bouncy texture plus there was a generous amount of noodles. Lots of veg, clear grease free broth with a developed flavour. My new go to ramen spot. Pork belly is excellent.... I usually stay away from pork belly as it often is improperly cooked when you go out but this place was 100% correct!!

Tiny ramen spot with most of your standard options and then some. Got the spicy tonkotsu noodles which had a good kick. Gyoza was plump but didn’t strike me as especially interesting. Space is tight and the blaring red light can be a bit strong. Service seems distracted as well.

Minca is a small Japanese ramen spot located in the East Village of New York City. Unlike other noodle bars, Minca focuses on simplicity, offering 15 straightforward items without the option to mix and match meat and broth. The cozy joint has gained a loyal following over its 17 years for its signature pork and chicken bone broth, customizable flavorings, and various noodle options.
Hands down our favorite ramen place in NYC. We have been going to Minca for years and the flavor, quality and service are always superb. We have tried a lot of the most famous ramen spots and always come back to Minca. Highly recommend!

This place was just okay. My friend and I came here for the ramen and it wasn't bad, except my noodles were overdone and too soft. The broth had some thickness to it, which was actually nice because at other places, the broth is usually watery. And this ramen was hearty and perfect for a cold winter day (I had the miso and my friend had the spicy miso). We also had the spicy kimchi and some type of green salad (I forgot the name, I think it was seaweed lol). I can't really comment on those because I didn't care for the flavor profile of them. Otherwise the service was friendly, but the whole atmosphere felt dirty with flies everywhere and no air conditioning. I dined-in, but I think it would have been better to order out instead.

The ramen here is the definition of a solid bowl of ramen. It’s not glamorous, nor does it need to be. This is where you should go if you’re craving ramen or if it’s a cold rainy/snowy day outside. I do wish they used ajitsuke or even regular soft-boiled eggs instead of hard-boiled ones.
Dhruv P — Google review
Fresh off 1 hour on the treadmill at 10.5 incline and 3.3 speed to sweat out the sins of the night prior, I found myself craving ramen. I wiped the sweat from my dark brown eyes that are slightly too big for my face and remembered how someone commented on a TikTok I made about Momofuku, saying Minca was the better ramen choice in EV. I showered off, tucked my adidas sweats into my Nike socks, slipped on the all-black hokas and set off on the 0.4-mile journey. I missed it on my initial walk by as it is extremely ducked-off. Lowkey as the kids would say. With about 14 seats, an open kitchen based on necessity and the workers all speaking Japanese amongst themselves, Minca is about as authentic as a ramen place can get. It brought me straight back to wandering down a random street in Shibuya, seeing impeccably dressed Japanese residents enjoying their bowl of ramen at the tiny little ramen restaurant scrolling their WhatsApp. I ordered the seaweed salad and the Spicy Miso Ramen. I always say that you can tell how good a Japanese restaurant is by how good their seaweed salad is. Okay I’ve never said that but this seaweed salad was really damn good. The ramen broth was flavor blasted without being too salty or too heavy, and the noodles had the perfect texture that would leave a smile on even Ivan Orkin’s face. Honestly, it was a big mf bowl too and I think two normal humans could split this and still walk away content. I, however, happen to be a big dawg. My #1 ranked ramen in EV as of now. Also, I love the name of this place. MincaMinca! Sounds like a cute pokemon hahahahaahaha.

Say it isn’t so? MINCA HAS CLOSED TOO? This is tragedy. It was the tastiest ramen I’ve ever had in the world. Kambi is dead, long live Minca! I was heartbroken to learn Kambi on 14 and 1st was closed last month but that it’s sister restaurant is open. And you’ll be well satisfied. Is a bit Tinier than kambi in space but still the most delicious ramen I have ever tried in the world. Will be my regular go to from now on. Love you guys.

Good ramen at a cash-only establishment in East Village. Definitely satisfies the ramen craving but was a little disappointed after reading several reviews saying it’s the best ramen in Manhattan. Yummy but felt it needed more umami. The meat was tender. I loved the hole in the wall vibe it has
Camille J — Google review
i ordered their tonkotsu ramen (pork bone broth). overall the dish was pretty authentic and tasty to eat. the broth was rich and filling, although i typically prefer slightly more “pork flavor” in the broth. the noodles they used were thick and had a good texture (i prefer it slightly more al dente/harder than how they cook it). the chashu was very savory and tasty though slightly on the drier side. all in all i’d still highly recommend swinging by and giving them a try if you’re nearby!
Flo E — Google review
Great ramen. The broth, the noodles, and the tender pork belly. Of the places I've been to, their menu is the most reasonable (for Manhattan) and also the most delicious. The broth's consistency was heavy enough to stick well with the noodles. The flavor was tasty and not too overwhelming. I drank the soup all the way through. The pork belly was tender and melted in your mouth. It wasn't all fat either. The shrimp gyoza are also amazing. They are not gimmicky; they don't shout greetings in broken Japanese as you enter the door (to give you that authentic vibe). They are authentic and they show it through their ramen. They are also very hospitable and generous. They didn't charge me for swapping out an ingredient. A lot of places I've been to tend to charge you or completely deny you for swapping a simple ingredient for another one. In fact, all I asked was to NOT have scallions in my order, and instead the waitress simply offered a generous substitute. How about that? It's amazing how subtle yet powerful a gesture like that is when it comes to food service. I still would have enjoyed this place for the ramen alone. It makes for a fun, casual date spot. I would also have no problem coming here completely solo. After all, I just want good ramen and service. I'll return!

Pricey but worth it. It's hard to not kick yourself after spending $25 on a bowl of ramen, but I'm not mad. The noodles were fresh and perfectly chewy, the broth was delicious, and it was a perfect spicy bowl of comfort on a cold day. My friend got a pork bun and said it was delicious as well. We shared a bottle of sake, which completed the entire experience. We went for dinner on a Monday night and were sat immediately. I advise arriving before 7pm if you have more than 2 people and don't want to wait.

It was all so delicious!!!! Forgot to take a picture of the ramen...but it's so worth it. Also had the chili wings and pork bun...all yes. And Christopher was a great server!

I love how small and comfy the atmosphere was in the restaurant !! The Ramen was so filling and flavorful ! I will absolutely be coming to try every item on the menu !!

I used to love this place. I came back after a few years away and was sad to see the price go up and no longer include almost all the toppings, egg and protein. If you order a ramen with no add ons, it will look sad with cabbage?! And maybe nori? Idk super disappointed. Also the server was wearing maybe half the bottle of cologne and that messed with my smell and taste. I ordered the kimchi ramen and the topping included cabbage lol - kimchi is already cabbage?? By the time I added all the things that used to come with the ramen it was $32 for a bowl that used to be $16-$18. shrinkflation is annoying and lost a customer since 2011. I used to tell everyone I met that this was the best ramen. Weird how people get used to things like this and don’t realize there’s better and cheaper elsewhere in the city!

This place is amazing. I remember them located across the street or it might be something else. The space is big and opens late. The food is delicious especially the chicken wings. Food is good. Too bad we ate beforehand but we end up order for half of the table and the ramen is amazing. Great flavor and well made. Service is great. Food came pretty quickly and we appreciate they are understanding that some of us ate beforehand.
Kevin Z — Google review
The place delivers taste without high costs. You won't encounter similar cuisine at nearby places. The entire staff remembers returning customers. The menu here avoids unnecessary complexity. Although I don't give praise easily, this place earns it.

They charge your credit card With a predetermined tip Before serving your food. Waitress was good but the older manager lady actually told me to change seats before I was finished eating. She was very rude about it too, trying to seat a family of 4 that was coming in. She kept pointing at another seat without apologizing. The food was sub par. Not good. I suggest you go somewhere else. Part of the menu was not available.

Pretty good Ramen place with limited but yet very tasty selection. The place doesn't take reservations and operates on a first come - first serve basis . So get ready to stay in line. My personal recommendations are Brussel sprouts and Miso Ramen. The sesame is good, too.

Hahm Ji Bach is a popular spot known for its Korean barbecue and other classic dishes. The restaurant offers a variety of tasty options, including the house-specialty black pork belly, all served with lettuce and sauce for wrapping and a generous selection of banchan. Owned by Younghwan Kim, it's open 24 hours, making it convenient for any time cravings. The contemporary dining room is spacious and welcoming, with attentive staff providing excellent service.
I was quite hungry at night and was recommended to me to try this place out. The place operates twenty four hours daily, the only con was that it’s not AYCE (All you can eat), but the prices are pretty fair. They have many options to choose from like soup, traditional Korean dishes, stir frys, meat for Korean barbecue, etc. Was seated immediately since it was pretty empty. The service was good, the staffs cook for you so all you have to do is to enjoy. The meat was freshly sliced and cooks instantly. I recommend this place to any Korean barbecue lovers or just looking for a late night spot to grub. Definitely will be back!

One of the more popular Korean restaurants in the area. Located in the Murray Hill section of Queens. Clean facilities. Food is good. Large portions. Staff is nice, especially to children. Open 24 hours. Card payment is accepted. The complimentary soup that comes with the meal is awesome. Give this place a try.

I took my mom here and she absolutely loved it! The food was fresh, came out quickly, and they offer so many delicious side dishes. A big plus is that some of the staff speak Chinese, which made ordering really easy for my mom. My personal favorite was the potato jjeong. The restaurant can get a little loud, but it adds to the warm and lively vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving Korean food(or want a lot of side dishes).

I tried the Yangnyeom Galbi today, and it was absolutely amazing! 😋 The meat was thick, tender, and perfectly marinated — every bite was full of rich, savory-sweet flavor. The balance between sweetness and saltiness was spot-on, and the smoky charcoal aroma made it even better. There was no gamey smell at all, and it paired perfectly with a bowl of rice 🍚🔥 The portion size was generous, and the staff even helped grill the meat, so it was super easy to enjoy. Overall, a 10/10 experience — I’d definitely come back again with friends!

I love the side dishes they serve! Seafood pancakes were the best thing I've had here! Japchae was nice too. Very authentic Korean food

Stumbled upon a real gem. High-quality meat is definitely a major win in my book, it can make or break a dish. Also, a LOAD of side dish is nice, it means the meal is complete.

Sooooo good! Steak and Shrimp with seafood pancake 💚 the Banchan are excellent (love the peanuts especially) and the attention of service is Michelin worthy. There’s a reason Hahm Ji Bach is open 24 hours a day and always packed - it is soooo good! #queensnyc #koreanfood #nycfood #nycrestaurants

loved my dinner here! tried a lot of dishes that were amazing but i especially loved the uni mushroom ramen & the pork bone ramen. will def be coming back to get them again and especially in the winter for some warm ramen!

Delightful and delicious ramen restaurant. Don’t let the small space deceive you — this place hits a home run with their creative and flavorful ramen offerings. And definitely try the pork buns — they melt in your mouth, unlike any pork buns I’ve ever had. I do wish the chairs were a little more comfortable but the food comes out so quickly that you’re not hanging around in them for too long. I love this restaurant!

I've spent a fair amount of time in Japan, so I'm always on the hunt for quality ramen. And this spot delivered across the board. I started with some delicious alcoholic drinks which were very good, but the star of the show is the ramen. It’s probably the best ramen I’ve eaten outside of Japan. Rich, exploding with substance and flavor. A perfect meal for a rainy day in New York. My partner and I had the pork bone ramen and spicy miso ramen. The pork broth is amazing, the noodles are perfect, and the chashu is moist and flavorful. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!! If only I could return and eat a different ramen dish here every day....
Steph S — Google review
This was perfect for a rainy autumn day lunch last weekend. I ordered their spicy pork bone ramen, and they nailed it. The broth was rich, just the way I like it, with great depth of flavor. The noodles were perfectly al dente with a nice bite, and the thick cuts of chashu were wonderfully tender. Just an all-round great bowl of ramen. I’ll be back!
ReedH — Google review
Chicken ramen isn’t great, but the spicy miso ramen is rich, creamy, and actually quite good. If you’re limited to chicken due to dietary restrictions, I’d recommend skipping this spot. However, if you enjoy pork, the spicy miso is definitely worth trying.

No we’re lucky as we didn’t wait to get sitting but small place. Got the pork ramen and the chicken ramen, both were great, very tasty. Kitchen is open and you can sit at the bar and see how they cook or you have tables.

The best ramen we have had outside of Japan, and we’ve tried most of NYC’s ramens. Both the spicy pork and spicy miso pork were amazing. The egg was perfect, chashu was tender, and the broth was really flavorful. The service was also great. Definitely a hidden gem.

I dont have anything against this place, but i personally wouldn’t come back. $21 pre-tax+tip for Pork Bone ramen. Noodles were firm, broth wasn’t as rich as I’d expect from reviews and the name. Pork was thin and only about 2 slices. This place is probably good for an average person, but not a critic/stickler like myself

Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings in Flushing is a budget-friendly Shanghainese eatery that has gained widespread acclaim for its signature soup dumplings. The restaurant, which originated in Flushing in 2006, now has popular locations across Manhattan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania's King of Prussia Mall. While the famed dumplings draw many visitors, the noodle offerings at Nan Xiang also deserve recognition.
I would eat here once per week if it was in my neighborhood. Prices and value and service are all exceptional, as is the food. The space is quite inviting and has a warm comfortable and clean feel. The most bizarre yet hilarious thing is the background music was on a ~30 second loop, but it was very peaceful and quiet so didn’t much matter. The service was so friendly and prompt despite the place being slammed on a Saturday afternoon. The staff were running about and quickly tending to everyone at such a pace that I myself could not sustain. Despite this they were extremely friendly and helpful. They not only brought us the to-go containers, but expertly packed them up, which can be tricky with some soups. The food… Wonton soup: incredible! The broth was light and refreshing, very authentic. The wontons were so tender and savory. The best part? It was like $9 or something. It could have been a full meal. Soup Dumplings: incredible! We had 2 orders. The pork and crab meat, and the mixed. They are again savory and tender, but satisfyingly subtle and packed with a yummy broth. We also had the woodear mushrooms and chicken soup, which were equally incredible! We couldn’t even finish these because the portion sizes of the wonton soup and dumplings were so large. I dream of this.
Dustin I — Google review
My friend’s mom loves this place! Clean, comfortable, and friendly service. The rice ball tasted just like back home, and the pickled fish noodle soup was a big hit,the fish was silky and the noodles bouncy. The soup dumplings were tasty though a bit thick, but the sticky rice shumai was soft and chewy, so good! The celery and tofu dish would be even better if the tofu were cut smaller.

Favorite place to visit to soup dumplings. All the food there is delicious and very affordable. We always have the soup dumplings because they are the best. Other meals such as the wood ear mushroom salad, the spicy pig ears or the scallion pancakes are also a must try. Try to make e reservation upfront to avoid waiting.

An iconic dumpling restaurant that is known for their soup dumplings! Not only can you order traditional pork soup dumplings, but also truffle & pork soup dumplings, chicken soup dumplings, abalone & pork soup dumplings, three treasures soup dumplings, and many more! Just note that it may get busy at times and you will need to join a waitlist. In addition to their steamed soup dumplings, they offer appetizers, noodle soups, and stir-fried noodles & rice cakes. Several of their signature dishes that I also recommend are Beef Tripe in Spicy Sauce, Four Happiness Sponge Tofu, and Shanghai Stir-Fried Udon. If you want more beef and bok choy, then go for the Beef Stir-Fried Udon instead of the Shanghai Stir-Fried Udon. Other than that, enjoy!

This is one of the well-known dumpling chain restaurants in New York City, and we visited the Flushing location. There was no line when we arrived, so we were seated right away. However, the place was almost packed. It was late in the afternoon — not quite lunch or dinner — but we were craving dumplings and decided to give it a try. They served complimentary hot tea, which was perfect on a chilly day. It tasted wonderful, and the staff happily refilled it throughout our meal. We ordered two types of dumplings: one green-tinted variety (likely pork with leek or herbs) and a set of chicken soup dumplings. The pork dumplings were outstanding — flavorful and aromatic — while the chicken ones were milder in taste. The service was attentive; they brought out the dumplings in batches so each set stayed piping hot. The soup dumplings in particular were excellent — steamy, juicy, and comforting. They also had chili oil on the table, which added a perfect kick. Overall, this place is a great spot for dumpling lovers — flavorful food, warm service, and a cozy vibe. Highly recommended if you’re in the Flushing area.

Absolutely phenomenal! Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao never disappoints — the soup dumplings are perfection: delicate skin, rich broth, and flavorful filling that tastes authentic and fresh every time. The restaurant is clean, well-run, and always buzzing with energy, yet service stays quick and friendly. The menu has so many great options beyond dumplings too — the scallion pancakes, noodles, and crab soup buns are all must-tries. You can tell they use quality ingredients and real craftsmanship in every dish. If you’re in Flushing and want true Shanghai-style dumplings, this is the place. Worth every minute of the wait!

Solid xiao long bao - however, by far not the best i had even in US. The dough is a bit too thick and the size is a bit too big. The flavor is good though. Can’t recommend the truffle one - truffle and XLB just doesn’t match. Their pan fried baos are alright. Nothing i want come back for. 5 stars for late night opening hours though!

Nakamura is a cozy ramen spot in the Lower East Side, Manhattan, known for its top Japanese chef Shigetoshi Nakamura. The restaurant offers a variety of ramen bowls, including the popular Torigara with Jidori chicken broth and customizable noodles. Despite its small size, Nakamura is home to a huge talent and has garnered praise from both Japanese and American eaters.
This place is legit!!! Hands down one of the best ramen bowls I’ve ever had. I ordered the XO Miso (highly recommend adding an egg), and my husband had the Pork Ramen. Both broths were absolutely packed with flavor. The noodles were perfectly chewy and delicious. The food was incredible, but the service was just as memorable. We arrived late, around 9:30pm, and were warmly welcomed without any sense of being rushed. 10/10 recommend!!

This is a really small place with only few tables and a small bar. We tried two kind of Ramen - classic pork broth which was rich and savory. And chicken broth with spinach and a perfectly cooked egg, this was also great, far more light than the pork broth and had thin noodles. We started with a chicken gyoza which was nice. The staff was super nice but you make the order through an app. The place could be cleaner, tables needed a decent amount of soap, not to mention the floor.
Danit T — Google review
I had to see if Ramen Nakamura lived up to its #3 ranking on Timeout's best ramen list. This hidden gem on the Lower East Side is a small, intimate spot perfect for a quick, fantastic meal. The appetizers were a highlight, especially the yummy Yuzu Wings-which was my favorite. Also enjoyed the shishito peppers, the geso calamari had a nice chew. My parents enjoyed the corn ribs and gyoza. For ramen, our table tried the rich and creamy Tontoro Pork, the light and clean Jidori Chicken and the Tokyo Tsukemen with pork and flavorful fish dipping sauce. I've just returned from Japan and this is pretty authentic ramen. A special shout-out to our server, Carlos, who was attentive and made the experience even better. And a fun fact we learned: Chef Nakamura is one of the "Ramen Gods," a title earned from competing on a Japanese TV show called Ramen King, the ramen version of Iron Chef.

Super yummy, drinks, and food! The fries tasted great and the ramen!

Nakamura reminds me of the small places with good ramen in Tokyo and Kyoto. Small wooden tables, a tiny bar, excellent ramen and a clean and shiny place that makes you want to keep sitting there and watching the small kitchen making the magic of delicious ramen. We had the pork ramen and the chicken curry ramen. Both broth and noodles were savory , rich and delicious we both added chili 🌶️ oil cause we like it spicy 🌶️, we added cooked egg which was perfect and the experience was excellent with a very friendly and welcoming staff. It is like a small ramen bar somewhere in the back of a small neighborhood in Tokyo.
Amos N — Google review
Awesome food and portions. The Yuzu Wings were super delicious. We got the ton toro pork ramen (generously add chilli oil, it will be even tastier) and the pulled chashu mazemen. You can also order from the menu of the sister restaurant next door, Niche, which focuses on mazemen. The Yuzu Line Soda was refreshing and just the right amount of both sweetness and carbonation. We will definitely be back. We read a recent article on Time Out New York naming this as the top ramen spot in the city and had to try it out for ourselves. We were lucky to get a same evening reservation and that they could sit us within five minutes on a Saturday night after we were delayed nearly half an hour by the subway (shoutout to the MTA!!!). Super nice staff and it was easy to order via phone/app system. Service was a bit slow but likely because they were busy and nothing that would knock off a star.

The food is really good, the service is great. I liked everything I tried. The only thing I would improve would be the space in the back, where large groups can fit. It’s in front of the bar, but there are also some things of storage and it made a little bit of visual noise, however, it is not bad, maybe it’s because I pay a lot of attention to the spaces and decoration.

I got this ramen delivered so can’t comment on the atmosphere, but it was quite good and a pretty reasonable price. I got the spicy miso ramen and it was very flavorful. It was not very spicy unless you drank a lot of the broth and got a clump of spice all at once. One thing to note, if you do get delivery, you will need your own chop sticks or spoon because that was not included.

Back to our favorite ramen spot on chilly Friday night, it was so packed that you could obviously tell they’re understaffed. Nonetheless, kudos to the floor staff who worked so hard despite being short handed. This time we opted to try their summer special ceviche ramen and it was really delicious!

A charming spot that I was led into by smell alone- and to be allured by aroma on Ditmars is a complement of itself. The service was sweet and helpful. We started with the popcorn chicken and Takoyaki. The 🐙 was truly unique and cooked great. The popcorn chicken was lacking in flavor but the citrus combination created a nice taste. Now onto the main event!! The Hinomaru ramen just called to me. I was delighted by the sweet mixing of poached egg and bone broth- super unique and delicious!! Pork cooked to perfection. Spice level was perfect. Left nothing but clean bowls and full stomachs. Wish there was a coat rack so I didn’t have to put mine on the floor. Great overall. Looking forward to the next time!

Malaysian restaurant
Taste Good is a well-established Malaysian restaurant located in Elmhurst, known for its traditional and flavorful dishes. The unassuming strip mall setting belies the delicious offerings within. Since the 1990s, this eatery has been serving up generous portions of classic Malaysian fare such as golden-brown roti, satays, and spicy laksa filled with eggs, noodles, bean curd, and seafood.
I stopped by for lunch after discovering this place on Instagram—it looked promising, and I’ve been craving Malaysian food for a while. We started with the roti, which was warm, flaky, and really satisfying. I ordered the Singapore laksa—flavor-wise, it was decent but didn’t quite stand out. We also had a whole fish dish, which was impressively large and perfect for sharing. Overall, a nice spot with a good variety on the menu. I’m definitely coming back to try the Hainanese chicken next time!
Boontarica J — Google review
Food is amazing and taste so good. You should try their seafood egg chow fun. They cook the noodles in wok hai (has a little burnt taste) but it goes well with the egg gravy. Their bathroom is small and somewhat clean. Service is good!
Garnet L — Google review
I remember really liking this place back in the day, but it feels like both the quality and portions have gone downhill over the years. Hainanese Chicken (3/5): Don’t expect an authentic Hainanese flavor here but the best portion was this dish Roti (3/5): Tastes decent, but the portion was very small Beef Rendang (3/5): Flavor’s there, but nothing that really wowed me Tofu Pepper Dish (3.5/5): One of the better dishes, tofu was fried perfectly, but there were only a few pieces. Gravy Rice Noodle with Scallion (2/5): This used to be my favorite… now my least. The gravy was super watery, and the portion small again. FYI: Still cash only
Cecilia L — Google review
Taste Good Malaysian Food in Elmhurst is one of those hidden gems that you’re glad you found. The dishes are incredibly flavorful, and the portions are generous for the price. The roti served with the chicken curry was especially good the bread was warm and flaky, and the curry had just the right amount of spice and depth of flavor. One nice touch is that they give you free tea with every meal, which makes the experience even better. The food also comes out very quickly, and the staff are friendly and attentive even when it gets busy. Just keep in mind that this is a cash-only place, so come prepared. Malaysian food isn’t something you find everywhere, especially made this well, so it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in Elmhurst or just looking to try something new.

Came on a recommendation for great, affordable Malaysian food, and yes they were right! Char Kway Teow (Malaysian Noodle Stir-fry) was tasty and best dish. Also enjoyed a Cantonese Chow Fun (Gravy) that sauce resembles a bit of bean curd soup with fish cake and choice of meat. The Fragrant Spicy Chicken seems like a more fried version of Peking Pork Chops but can be a bit too dry. Environment can seem like a local's hangout and boisterous and tight, but food comes quick and enjoy the TV and wall of the wide variety of dishes.
Sean Q — Google review
Checked their spot for the hype. Can't say I had a good time. New dishes to try out but I still love Pappa Rich over this spot. The service was okay. They hardly came by at all. They didn't have water bottles either. The bathroom just smelled and was tiny. The owner (assuming the owner) was not friendly AT ALL but it was nice of him to help out his coworkers. Will not come back.

Been grabbing take outs from here for years and finally try dine-in. After seating, you are given complimentary hot tea and food came out in about 5 minutes after ordering. Portion is huge especially compare to price with chow fun and fried rice at $12 each. The taste was good and servers are always looking up and down to attend to your need. Note that this restaurant is cash only. A gem in the neighborhood!
Nat T — Google review
Very cramped space, but the people are super nice. The Hainanese chicken on its own is about a 6 or 7, but with the sweet and sour sauce, it’s a solid 9 — seriously, that sauce makes it. The sizzling bean curd (tofu) is a must-have. The sauce is spot-on — not too salty — and the tofu has great texture: crispy on the outside, soft inside

This a great spot for xiaolongbao and Peking duck! There's nothing quite like having a Chinese feast. Pick whatever you think looks nice from the menu and it'll be on your table in minutes. Comfortable and relaxed Chinese dining area. The soup and the watercress dumplings were great. The rice noodles and meat buns were fairly standard. The soup dumplings were on the cooler side, so were less than ideal. The closing soup was a bit on the sweet side

I submitted a Peking Duck. She told me to sit comfortably in the desired seat so that I could wait comfortably while waiting for Peking Duck. I ate it seven hours later, but the juice was still alive and not cold at all. They also brought a lot of green onion, cucumber bread, and black sauce, so it wasn't lacking at all. It was so delicious that I couldn't take a picture because I was in a hurry to eat it. I'll replace it with a menu photo 🤦‍♀️ I recommend it !!! 😋

I've been here 3 times. Once with co-workers, a friend and then family. Each time was a different experience - all positive. I may have even reviewed this sometime ago. My first time coming here I came with co-workers and it being my first time they recommended certain dishes which I really loved. Soup dumplings, and rice noodles. My second visit was with a good friend of mine and we chose completely different dishes like the Peking Duck and spicy garlic ribs and a veggie fried rice. Phenomenal. My third visit I came with family. I pretty much repeated the same meal that I had with my friend but we also ate the sesame chicken, duck buns, more soup dumplings and spicy noodles. This restaurant does not disappoint. Soup dumplings are free if you order over a certain amount and it's not even a high amount, the wait time is minimal and the food is just so good. My son is a huge fan. Will be coming here a 4th time for sure!

The “Shuanghuang noodles” were quite disappointing — this is not how they are usually made in Shanghai. The cold fish also didn’t taste good and I wouldn’t recommend ordering it. On the bright side, the service staff were very polite and attentive. But as for the kitchen, I really hope the chefs can refine their cooking skills a bit more.

This location has recently become a shared space for two restaurants—You Garden and Corner28—in Flushing they are still physically located in two separate buildings across the street from each other. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has noticeably declined. Both my wife and I ordered noodle soups: fish with pickled vegetables noodle soup and pork chop noodle soup, which turned out to be very bland and lacked depth of flavor. The soup dumplings were also disappointing—the skin was thick and doughy, far from the delicate texture we expected. We also ordered takeout. The jellyfish with turnip didn’t taste anything like I remembered—it was completely off—and the spicy bamboo shoots were bland and lacked any real spice or flavor. The only acceptable dish is the Yang Chou fried rice. I did order a Char Siu (BBQ pork) rice from Corner28. It was decent in taste, and the portion was generous. However, because it came from Corner28 and not You Garden, I had to pay separately, even though the same cashier handled both orders. Overall, it’s sad to see the decline in quality that used to be among our go-to places. Hopefully, they can improve and return to their previous standards.

A good friend invited us for lunch. Had SLB,1/2 peking duck, scallion pancakes & a panfried shanghai noodle dish. SLB could've been more juicy, skin was on thick side. Duck skin could've been more crisper. Pancakes & noodles were good. Menu has many different & interesting dishes to try next time.

I brought Roast pork and duck over rice. The water and oil from the veggie all Suck in into rice, and the rice is cold and hard. The veggie is not fully cooked. my family Usually come here for dinner cause the not too pricey. But the food is not tasty as usual. The soup dumpling is the only food is still good. nothing else

Ramen restaurant
Cafe
Izakaya restaurant
Takumen is a modern Izakaya-style Japanese restaurant with a casual and contemporary vibe. The restaurant features a cozy atmosphere with rotating art exhibits, offering an impressive selection of noodles, sake, and craft beers. The menu includes a variety of fusion dishes such as Hawaiian Tuna Poke Bowl, Spicy Goma Miso Ramen Noodles, Ban Ban Chicken Ramen Noodles, Wan Tan Men Ramen Noodles, and Black Sesame & Kale Salad.
Found this while we were around Gantry Park. Really nice atmosphere especially in the evening with their playlist. Other than the food, they also sell soft-serve, matcha from matcha days, and hojicha from kettl. I had the matcha latte with oat milk (they offer oat, macadamia, almond, free of charge), it was just OK. Staffs were helpful. It was a little packed on a Tuesday evening, might need reservation. Would come back and try their other menu.

Food missed expectations, the chicken meatball skewers were probably the best thing along with the Japanese ice dessert (arimatsu?). The lamb legs looked and tasted like airplane food and the ramen was ok.
Susie S — Google review
Very cute and clean vibe at the restaurant. We went for lunch and got some appetizers. Lots of vegetarian friendly appetizers however we thought the two mains (veg ramen and rice bowl) were lacking in protein options (no tofu and egg cost additional). The veg ramen broth was very salty as well. We felt a bit pressured by the waiter who seemed to keep trying to urge us to order more food for the table and dessert even after we let them know we would not like any dessert. For the price we will most likely not be coming back.

I used to love this restaurant when I came here a few years ago, since the food was really good back then. But my most recent visit was an absolute disappointment. The food was shockingly bad. Two different chicken dishes had almost the exact same seasoning, and we had to wait a long time. The ramen was the worst I’ve ever had – I stopped after just one bite.
Susie L — Google review
Service is great but food unfortunately isn't. Got the nanban chicken rice bowl and waited ages for it, and the chicken came out cold and not crispy at all. Food didn't taste authentic Japanese style. Black sesame latte was nice though.
CS W — Google review
This Japanese spot is right next to the 7 train, at the first stop in Queens. The interior is cozy, with lots of seating, and service is good (although they REALLY do try to upsell you on things, even after you said no multiple times—ie. additional toppings, drinks, desserts, etc.). They also have an ice cream shop here (Taku Parlour) that is available (but unfortunately, sold out when we went). We got their soy garlic wings and their ramen. Their wings were good but a lot of the pieces were really small. And, although the pork chashu in the ramen (I got their wantan men) was super soft and tender, I felt that the ramen was way too salty for me. Moreover, it doesn't come with an egg and if you do decide to get an egg add-on for $3, it comes in an egg cup and hard-boiled (as opposed to in the ramen and jammy/soft-boiled). Overall, I thought it was an alright spot, a bit pricer, and I'm not sure I would come back for their food.
Mia H — Google review
The Ramen really failed my expectation for Ramen. Poor flavored broth, dry meat and cold hard egg… not worth $20+ at all. The chicken rice bowl feels like a bento takeout from hmart, cold and dry, softened fried chicken is a nonono.

Been going to this restaurant faithfully for years and love the interior, the decor, but the FOOD!! Always incredible ramen, and I travel from Brooklyn regularly for their karaage and chicken dishes. Love the hojicha, matcha, and sake options. And always have a great experience with staff.

Taiwanese restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Restaurant
Taiwanese Gourmet is a popular spot in Elmhurst, offering authentic Taiwanese cuisine. The restaurant is known for its bustling atmosphere and spacious seating across two floors. Diners can expect friendly and quick service, making it a great choice for those craving Taiwanese food. The menu features classic dishes such as pork chops over rice, ginger chicken, seafood, stinky tofu, fried rice, Dan Dan noodles, and super crispy popcorn chicken with scallions and basil.
Great spot for lunch and dinner! Constantly delivers delicious Taiwanese dishes. Recommend appetizer Glutinous Rice with Large Intestine, from Taiwanese Specials, my favorites are the Pork & Dried Tofu, Pork & Bamboo Shoots, and Beef with Scallions. If you need a veggie dish, I would recommend the Chinese Watercress w. Garlic. Make sure to have these dishes with rice as they can be a bit salty to be eaten alone. I also enjoy their complimentary pickled radish. ~Cash Only Restaurant~

First time trying this Taiwanese restaurant and it went way beyond our expectations! We ordered so many dishes just the three of us and finished everything. 😆 The fried pork was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and the fried intestines were surprisingly clean and super tasty. Every dish was full of bold, well-balanced flavors just like what you’d expect from authentic Taiwanese home cooking. The restaurant has a cozy, homey vibe and to top it off, the staff were lovely and provided great service. If you’re in the area, definitely give it a try — now we know why we couldn’t leave a single bite behind.
Wattanachai C — Google review
This restaurant offers very authentic Taiwanese cuisine with a traditional touch. From classic street snacks to more skillfully prepared dishes, you can find nearly all the Taiwanese favorites you might think of. The stir-fry dishes, in particular, are highly recommended—they’re full of wok hei and best enjoyed fresh on-site. With the fast service, it’s a good choice both for a quick solo meal and for casual gatherings with friends.
D G — Google review
Note: This review is primarily for vegetarians who may find themselves dining here with meat-eating friends. Taiwanese Gourmet offers an authentic Taiwanese dining experience, and it’s best appreciated by those who eat meat. While there is a decent selection of about a dozen vegetarian dishes—mostly healthy, steamed tofu and vegetable options—they’re not the main attraction, lack depth in flavor and tend to be less exciting. That said, there are some more flavorful choices like crispy tofu and the traditional stinky tofu. The best vegetarian option is the crispy tofu with the savory garlic dipping sauce hands down! They are also accommodating and if you can describe something you’d like with their existing ingredients, they will try to accommodate. The real draw of this place is its traditional Taiwanese entrees, which are clearly a hit—on weekends, every table is packed. It’s a lively, bustling atmosphere: expect a lot of noise, clanging pots, and fast-moving staff. Service is friendly but busy, and the overall vibe is more family-style chaos than quiet, relaxed dining. Also, they’re cash only, so come prepared.

Came here to try the trending beef noodle soup — it was pretty good! We also ordered the braised pork with rice and the pork and fried tofu with rice, both were 10/10. We didn’t bother getting drinks since they serve fresh complimentary tea (we even got a refill!). I noticed almost every table ordered the clams, so I definitely felt like I was missing out. I’ll be coming back to try the seafood next time — especially those clams everyone seems to love.

i love the food here, their beef and chili hits every time and the crispy tofu is amazing. I love how silky it is on the inside while the outside has this perfect crunch. their vegeatables were fresh too.

I'm always searching for delicious Taiwanese food throughout NYC, so I was so excited to finally have the chance to stop by Taiwanese Gourmet recently. It's been bookmarked for quite a while, but it's a bit out of the way in Elmhurst where I don't find myself that often! Our party of 2 came by around 7pm on a weekday -- we were able to get seated immediately, and while the place was really busy the whole time we were there, I think there were always a couple of empty tables available. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share: - 蒼蠅頭 "fly heads" which is just stir-fried ground pork with chive flowers and black beans was not bad. I thought the ground pork had a great savoury flavour to it, but the chive flowers tasted a bit undercooked. I felt it was a bit heavy/oily, too. - 清炒高麗菜 sautéed cabbage was a little disappointing. Taiwanese cabbage is probably one of my favourite vegetables, and I was disappointed at how bland this dish was. The leaves were a bit too chewy for my taste, and I felt like it was significantly under-seasoned (salt/soy sauce/sesame oil would have gone a long way here). - 溼煎虱目魚 braised milk fish was delicious! It's not that common to find milkfish in the US (especially of this quality) even as a classic Taiwanese dish, so I was really pleasantly surprised at how yummy this was. The portion size was SO big, and the flesh was just soo fragrant -- tender, juicy, practically melted in your mouth with an amazing savouriness. Definitely would strong recommend this dish. - 番茄牛蓋飯 beef and tomato over rice was really tasty too. The tomato was cooked to a perfect softness, and the mature flavour paired really well with the slightly more umami bites of beef and scrambled egg in the thick sauce (some mix of black pepper and oyster sauce flavours). It was not too heavy at all when eaten with the rice; I felt like I could have just eaten this itself as my meal :) Service was very quick, and all of the staff were very lovely with taking our order and offering suggestions and whatnot. Note that they are a cash only place, so do come prepared! While there were some spots for improvement, I think this was still a very yummy (and promising) meal overall, and I'm excited to come back to try some of their other dishes (on their quite expansive menu).

Malaysian restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Coco in Elmhurst offers a diverse menu with noodle, soup, and fried rice dishes, as well as seafood and vegetable options. The restaurant is known for its generous portions and laid-back atmosphere. Diners can savor the flavors of Malaysia in dishes like beef brisket noodle soup and roast pork noodles, which are highlighted by their flavorful broths. Customers have praised the authentic Shrimp Curry Laksa and Dry Curry Beef for their deliciousness and fair pricing.
Decided to venture away from my usual Malay pick and come to Coco! Order: 1. Papaya salad 2. Thai spring roll 3. Hokkien Mee (my favvvv) 4. Char Keow Teow 5. beef satay 6. Ice Kachang (ABC) Papaya salad is a little bit on the drier side than I’m used to.. I think they’re more conservative on the fish sauce. Hokkien Mee is a must for me - it’s drenched in sauce and could be a little salty but you can request less salt less oil to be a tad healthier. They also add in pork fat piece which is honestly *chef’s kiss* Char Keow Teow is more fragrant than most places I’ve been to! Def going to be a fav from now on. Satay - only comes with cucumber and no onion like I’m used to be that’s minor. Still charred pretty well yet not overcooked! ABC - perfect proportion of all ingredients and condensed milk. Great way to end your meal! Don’t skip on this one! Def a place I’ll be frequenting more often. There’s a little section where they sell random stuff and Myanmar Jade amongst other jewelry. If you’re looking for jade pieces… well, here you go! They also take card but prefer tips in cash!

This Asia fusion restaurant truly is a hidden gem in Elmhurst. I had the pleasure of trying their Indian Shrimp Fried Noodles Mee Goreng and the Veggie Curry Clay Pot—both were absolutely impressive! The flavors were authentic and rich, a delightful blend that left me wanting to try more. However, my tiny stomach couldn’t handle it all, and even these two dishes were more than enough for me! What I also loved about this place was the peaceful and quiet environment. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy your meal without distractions and really focus on the amazing food. I can't wait to come back and explore more of their menu. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a unique and flavorful dining experience!

I ordered the beef Chang fun (flat rice noodle) and the taste did not live up to my expectations. Other restaurants nearby make it much better. I ate half of it and then didn’t want to finish the rest. The workers were nice though.

We were craving Curry Laksa and it brought us here. Very delicious indeed! We ordered other dishes too like the Chicken Satay, Shrimp roll and Oyster pancake. I had the coconut shake too. Everything came out good and definitely coming back!

I ordered the spicy fried rice & singapore laksa, they all tasted just ok. BUT, here comes the worst of all… the WORST MANGO STICKY RICE i’ve ever had in my life. I mean, come on, if the mangoes are not ripe yet just don’t serve it, saying it’s not available is so much better than serving the far from ripe sour mango cubes, you can even know what i’m talking about when you watch the video🤦‍♀️ and it’s not just about the mangoes, EVERYTHING in that dish is awful. i won’t bother coming back here.

First time to try Malaysian Cuisine and it didn’t fail me! Everything was good! So tasty and authentic! Location: It is located in Elmhurst. Just in front of the US grocery. The restaurant is small with few seatings inside, probably 10 people max. Service: she was okay. You have to order in the front and be seated and wait for your food. Food: Everything was good and tasty! SALTED EGG CHICKEN: this was the bomb, it was soo good! You can actually taste salted egg in there! GRILLED PORK CHOP: this is so delicious and tender, and a lot! DRY CURRY BEEF (BEEF REDONG): reminds me of Filipino kaldereta, the sauce is very tasty and beef is tender! FRIED CALAMARI: to be honest it is not the typical round calamari, it is strips and it taste good! CHOW KUEH TEOW: fried noodle with seafood, good as well! Price rating: 7/10, huge servings tho. Definitely will eat more here after grocery shopping! My favorite is the Salted egg chicken! So tasty and good!

Was craving some authentic Shrimp Curry Laksa from an authentic Malaysian restaurant and this spot did not disappoint! On a cold, wintery day, the staff was so welcoming, and the food came out fairly quickly. The noodles and broth seriously hit the spot for me, the flavors were bursting in my mouth, and overall, I couldn't stop smiling while eating. It was very fairly priced as well for what you got ($14). I left the establishment full. My friend ordered the Dry Curry Beef, and that was also very delicious. Also, the bathroom is absolutely beautiful. It was spacious and clean. Very pleased with my experience.
Jessica W — Google review
Malaysian restaurant in Elmhurst that was nice and cozy. It has a small shop at the front near the cash register which was an interesting set up. The flavor of the food was very subtle overall with the 2 entrees that I tried: the Chow Kueh Teow and the Singapore Curry Laksa. Not bad, and it tasted more homey. I also liked the Roti Canai and the accompanying curry dipping sauce with chunks of chicken. The restaurant is a bit small, but they have spaced out the tables and have one large table that can fit 10 people. Overall, I would give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I bumped them up to 4 stars because of their great service and cleanliness. Food came out really quickly despite serving our group of 8.

Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
E.A.K. RAMEN and IZAKAYA by Machida Shoten Hell's Kitchen is a trendy ramen spot with a warm atmosphere, offering Japanese-style noodle bowls and sake. The EAK fried rice is highly recommended as a side dish, and the pork in their dishes is surprisingly enjoyable even for non-pork enthusiasts. The EAK Ramen is particularly irresistible, making it hard to opt for healthier options like the mushroom noodles.
We really love this restaurant. It’s on a really cute blog and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. We ordered a bunch of things, including the oh so spicy miso Ramen, the wasabi marinated raw octopus, chicken carriage, and the poke bowl. Everything was really really good and just hit the spot!
Vera J — Google review
This definitely taste homemade and fresh to order food. I got the Tokyo Chicken Shoyu Ramen. A lot of chicken and a lot of onions (diced onions & green onions). If you don't like onions don't get this dish. The broth was flavorful not intense though I wish I would've had the option to make it spicy. The chicken had little flavor. And although I did have to take some of the onions out because it was too much they actually compliment the broth really well. I also got the 5pc Chicken Karaage. Fried chicken thigh pieces served with 2 of your choice sauces. I went with the spicy garlic and curry. Spicy garlic, was oil with toasted garlic & chili flakes.. I believe. Not spicy at all nor does it have a garlic flavor, still good, but misleading. The Chicken Karaage was hot, fresh and juicy. Also got the Veggie Fried Rice, which is not the fried rice most of us are used to. This had bell peppers, mini tomatoes, celery and like 2 pieces of tiny cauliflower. Though I'm glad I tried it, it really lacked flavor. Overall, food was hot and fresh but left much to desire flavor wise. Service from my experience was great. We got to sit outside and even though we were the only ones out there, they were very attentive to our needs.
Kimfude R — Google review
The ramen spot was a total vibe. Clean setup, chill lighting, and that cozy kind of place where you could hang with friends for hours. The broth was actually really good—rich, flavorful, and not crazy salty like some places. The noodles had that perfect bite, and everything looked fresh. The food itself? Solid. The service though… not it. I had to literally flag someone down just to order, then again to pay. It wasn’t even packed, so that part felt off. Maybe they were short-staffed or just not paying attention, but it kinda killed the flow. I’m from Houston, so maybe I’m biased, but the meat portions were weak. For what you’re paying, I expected more. The flavor carried, but it didn’t give that “wow, I need to come back tomorrow” feeling. More like, “yeah, that was decent.” Overall, it’s a chill spot if you’re craving ramen and want a cool atmosphere. The broth and noodles do their job, but nothing here screams life-changing. Worth trying once, but probably not a regular go-to

Great izakaya spot in theatre district that's good for quick lunch or fun dinner. Remember an amazingl popup experience when they took over Ramen lab when it was still open. Large standard izakaya menu selection, good ramen with flavorful broths. Friendly attentive service throughout the meal.

Tibetan restaurant
Dumpling restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Nestled away in the bustling neighborhood of Jackson Heights, Lhasa Fast Food is a delightful hidden gem that promises an authentic taste of Tibetan cuisine. To find this quirky eatery, you'll need to navigate through a mobile phone store and down a narrow corridor, leading you to a cozy dining room adorned with Himalayan decor. The star of the menu is undoubtedly their momos—plump dumplings filled with savory beef, chives, and cilantro that are simply irresistible.
Come here for Momos, steamed or fried! They're soft and juicy, and the sauce they come with is very spicy. I love the hand pulled noodles as well though I wish the accompanying elements were better cooked. I think the non-soup noodle dishes might be the way to go here, aside from the Momos.
Anita C — Google review
We loved the delicious Tibetan food. It's a limited menu, but there's a variety of appetizers, soups, or mains to choose from. Most are reasonably priced. They also serve drinks. Some more decor/ ambience and attentiveness from waitress could have been nice. We will recommend it to others who enjoy spicy food.

Gahwa is a Korean eatery that operates round the clock, serving traditional Korean dishes in a dimly lit space adorned with dark wood and log ceiling. Despite its lively ambiance, Gahwa exudes a warm and cozy atmosphere. The cuisine offered at this establishment provides a sense of home and comfort, even for non-Koreans. While the soup's broth is flavorful but lacking in seasoning, patrons are pleased to find condiments readily available on their tables.

Super empty on a weekday/friday night, went trick or treating with my niece and nephew and their kiddie friends and we were looking for a place nearby for food, decided to drop by since they were still open (closes at 9:20pm), there was only one other table with customers finishing their meal when we walked in. We got some soup and japchae and seafood pancakes to share, the beef bone soup was without salt so you'd have to add your own, there's a bowl of scallion too. Japchae was good and flavorful. Tofu soup was spicy but decent in flavor. Probably not my first choice in the area but ok for old ppl who can't have too much salt and needs to eat healthy. Lots of space and no crowd.
Rita L — Google review
Definitely a place to try the 🍲beef bone soup! Seems like their best best iconic dish. It was really really high quality, creamy and thick with lots of ingredients inside. The ❤️‍🔥pork with veggie was a big plate to share. Pork belly is chewy and neck meat melts in your mouth. Their 🧡kimchi was really delicious as well, especially the radish one. They have their master recipe. Would like to visit and try other things next time. The only thing I have comments is the services. When I asked for recommendations, the server had no patience and responded “everything!” then left…
Julia H — Google review
This Korean restaurant offers a quite unique dining experience. The food is basic yet flavorful, with highlights being the savory, sweet, and lightly fermented kimchi and the tangy, savory jalapenos. The ox bone tendon soup is simple and requires a touch of self-seasoning, and the seafood pancake is a well-balanced dish that goes excellently with their sweet salty garlic soy sauce. However, the ambiance leaves much to be desired, with a cafeteria-like atmosphere and minimal service. Music is noticeably absent, leaving diners in silence. Nevertheless, the food offerings somewhat make up for the lack of atmosphere. The pricing is on the higher end, so be prepared for that. Overall, it's a decent spot if you're looking for authentic Korean cuisine, but don't expect a vibrant dining atmosphere.
Daniel L — Google review
The food is fairly consistent at Gahwa. It tastes good and is decently priced. They are becoming more stingy with the banchan, especially the kimchi, which is why I am giving them three stars.
Sarah — Google review
My family and I came here because (1) they were the only place open at ten in the morning, and (2) my mom crowed about their bibimbap. The restaurant, at first glance, doesn't seem like much. It's a small space with few servers, and the de rigeur banchan, or small plates, that are a part of every Korean meal are few. Other restaurants might provide a bevy of offerings, but Gahwa sticks to the bare basics with the ever-present kimchi and kkakdugi (spicily fermented radish). That said, I couldn't stop my chopsticks from returning to these small plates. Both are done extremely well here, and we had barely enough time to savor them before our plates came out because the food arrived that quickly. I went with the dolsot bibimbap, the hot stone pot version of this dish, which was every bit as good as my mom claimed. There was a surprisingly varied mix of root vegetables and mushrooms and the server here was kindly about making mine vegetarian by removing the meat. All too often, the vegetables for this spicy mixed rice dish are cut into all kinds of lengths and sizes, including some that are too long for a spoon and leave vegetal tendrils dangling as you try to grab a mouthful. But here, everything is thoughtfully chopped into tiny dices, making it that much easier to pack a bite. It seems like a small thing, but I thought it a delightful touch. The only two drawbacks were that the pot wasn't terribly hot, which meant the rice never crisped on the bottom as much as I would have liked. The other very small thing was that I missed having an egg to throw in (which many other restaurants provide). But those small quibbles aside, we appreciated the quick service and the fact that they were one of few Korean restaurants in the area open to hungry early birds.
Jane C — Google review
I prefer Gahwa more than any Korean restaurants in Korean town. My hidden gem spot. The complimentary radish kimchi is just so good. Plz visit and try many dishes.

Nestled in the vibrant Elmhurst neighborhood, Hug Esan is a delightful culinary gem that showcases the rich flavors of Southeast Asia's Esan region, which shares its roots with Laos. This cozy eatery offers an inviting atmosphere with just six tables, making it feel intimate yet lively. The menu features comforting dishes like khao piak sen—a delicious soup brimming with pork spare ribs and sausage, garnished with cilantro and fried shallots—perfect for warming your soul.
One word: happy 🎉 We ate here for dinner and my, my, they served such delectable Thai dishes. I requested for spicy, spicy level for my Som Tum Thai and Pad Ka Prow (with beef), they delivered. In conclusion, happy 🎉

Nice space with good food. We got the steak which was good but could have been rendered more by having less sauce. I highly recommend the fish because it is moist and has been cured well, with two sauces that work independently (do not mix them!) to enhance the fish's flesh. The duck larb was also quite good, mainly with really fragrant herbs like the basil or the mint. Overall, a good place, I'll keep this for when I'm in Elmhurst.

Truly differentiated northern Thai cuisine. Expertly prepared and all delicious. It's a small place so you may have to wait if it's busy. Service is informative, efficient and pleasant. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring it in and pay a small corkage fee. Also they don't take credit cards but do accept venmo.

Very authentic Thai food here! I get quite picky with my food but this place definitely has so many good dishes. Ugh and I try every Thai tea and this is one of the good ones, must get when you’re there! It’s a small spot so there may be a small wait if it’s busy but for the most part, they try their best to accommodate and make a few moves for people to sit. Great friendly service as well!! 🥰

Very good authentic Thai food. Reasonable price and great service. Space is a bit small so probably best to get reservation ahead.

Have been coming here for a long time. Even though the prices have gone up a lot over time, it's because they started out really low when other places nearby had become exorbitant (Ayada, Sriprapi), but the quality of food at Hug Esan has been consistently excellent even more refined. I love it here. The staff are wonderful. Amazing food.

I looooooove this place! It’s legit. Tastes like home. Been coming here for years. Whenever I want Northeastern Thai food, I come here. I’ve had friends commute from Brooklyn for this. It’s regional, so don’t just order basic pad thai or curry that you can get anywhere else. Try the other stuff. Perfect to feast with family and friends. The space is small, so if you’re bringing a big group, just call ahead of time! The combo set’s a good intro if it’s your first time. Personal favorites: Grilled whole fish, Gang Om, Mok Nhor Mai, Somtum Plara, Naam Tok

Karazishi Botan is a Japanese eatery located in Cobble Hill, offering a casual setting and specializing in ramen. The menu features popular items such as Tan-tan Men, Fried Chicken Katsu Burger, Tonkotsu Ramen, and Gamma Green Ramen. Fumihiro Kanegae, the master behind Ippudo, opened Karazishi Botan in 2020. The restaurant also offers outdoor dining with a spacious backyard patio tented with heaters.
COZY RAMEN 🍜 Walked in on a cold night while most restaurants were semi-empty, Karazishi Botan was packed. Be warned this place is… cozy. Might be tough waiting for 2 or more but I was flying solo. I waited for 5-10 minutes and ironically got the most spacious and comfiest seat in the restaurant at the couch by myself. The atmosphere is lively and energetic. The menu Is extensive as they have much more than ramen. I ordered the wedge salad with mango dressing which was light and a nice counter balance to the savory. Also the takoyaki octopus balls are amazing; I mean you should always order this wherever you are. The tonkatsu ramen 🍜 was very delicious and hits the spot. The broth could’ve been a touch saltier and there could’ve been 1-2 more pieces of chashu but overall very good. Highly Recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I haven’t had a vegan ramen better than this in NYC, or been to a Japanese restaurant that offers the amount of vegan options they do! Be sure to ask your server, a few dishes on the menu say vegetarian but they are in fact vegan! Notable favorites: Captain Brooklyn, Fish and Chips, Yakionigiri

We had a great time. The food was tasty, but I’d recommend against ordering the Iron Men IV if you prefer things less salty. When we ordered, the waitress did mention that the broth would be “very rich,” but I was not deterred and curious to try it. It was tasty, but I’d probs have preferred what my gf got, which was the Showa Classic. We shared and enjoyed the INEZO Peach, a jelly-based sake drink. The servers were extremely courteous and responsive even though it took some time to get our orders in. If you’re dining here, expect a cozy experience since some tables are positioned quite close to one another or the bar seating to maximize utilization of the small space. I’d def come back the next time I’m on smith street.

If you are oz and looking for fish and chips Australian style. This is the place in Brooklyn actually. The chef used to lived in Sydney and he makes like the pub style. The ramen is good and dumplings highly recommended.

Excellent food! I think it may have the best Tsukemen style ramen in Brooklyn. I recommend the cold noodle tsukemen. They have a fun and quirky menu (matcha french fries for example) but also more traditional ramen options. I think you need to try this place at least once. Authentic as well (the owner and chef are Japanese). Three different seating areas, outside shed, indoor bar and tables , and then they also have an outdoor garden eating area. Very friendly!

Summary: 2 person meal with delivery fees/tax/driver tip = $85 and we didn't finish a single thing. Ordered Tonkatsu and Showa ramen. One ramen bowl had 2 standard diameter and 1/8" thick slices that we'd expect from any other ramen spot. The other looked like it was sliced from the very end of the tied roast and were about half the diameter and only about 1/16" thick...a noticeable difference. Not the end of the world. Then we noticed that both were missing the scallions listed on the menu and no additional packet or side container was included. The Showa wasn't supposed to have bamboo shoots but there were enough for the person who doesn't like them to point out that they were in there. We ate about 1/3 of each because from the first bite they were both insane sodium bombs. Barely edible. Oh yeah, the ribs. Not memorable for any positive reasons. May be ok at the restaurant but I doubt a 10 minute delivery ride will dry out ribs this fast. All the flavor was in the glaze, meat was nothing notable flavor-wise. We won't be back.

NR is a ramen bar and cocktail spot located on the Upper East Side, drawing inspiration from 19th century Japanese port towns. The menu features a fusion of Japanese, Western, and Chinese influences. The food offerings include oysters, mussel with beer and cotton candy, and specialty ramens topped with sea urchin or pork belly. Craft cocktails are served in ornate vessels for an Instagram-worthy experience.
Easily one of my favorite ramen restaurants. Everything was incredible, but the chicken buns and cocktails were absolutely standout and a must try! Shoutout to our server, Rei! Thank you for all the wonderful recommendations and making our experience that much more memorable.

One of my favorite dry ramen spots. It’s so good and service/ambiance is great too. Nice upscale feel that’s great for dates. Definitely get a reservation. Don’t miss this place, especially the truffle egg sandwich, sea urchin ramen, and their creative cocktails. Been here a few times and always excited to come back. Food: Outstanding and flavorful! Their apps are so good- Truffle Egg Sandwich is luscious and sooooo delicious. Melts in your mouth and makes you want to order 5 more. Their Spicy Tuna is great too. Although the tuna and oysters are smaller portions. For mains, do not miss the the Sea Urchin Ramen! Soooooo good. I usually like soup ramens but NR has the BEST dry ramen. It’s worth the price every time. Drinks: Their cocktails are delicious! Creative and different each time I go. Always a spin on classics and some of their creative kicks too. Keeps you on your toes to see what’s next. Vibes: Good space and not too crowded. The tables aren’t squeezed together and the acoustics make it easy for people to talk but it doesn’t echo the whole restaurant. It’s speakeasy vibes and intimate, yet fairly spacious with plenty of chit chat around you. Their bar seating is spacious too.

NR is a beautiful blend of a ramen restaurant and cocktail bar, and they really know how to create a great local vibe. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, and it’s clear this place is loved by the neighborhood regulars. The food is creative and well-prepared, and everything pairs nicely with their impressive selection of drinks. I think this is a place meant to be enjoyed with good cocktails and good company, rather than just for ramen alone. If you’re looking for a pure ramen experience, there might be other options in New York — but if you want amazing service, great ambiance, and a fun night out, NR is definitely worth visiting.

I came here for dinner one evening and was pleasantly surprised by my experience! Located in the UES, this Japanese-fusion restaurant is a delightful find and great spot for a date night. The interior gives off speak-easy vibes and is a lot more spacious than I expected. Service here is pretty quick, friendly, and attentive. Their menu has a wide variety of appetizers and their mains focus on Japanese ramen and soup curries. They also have a unique menu of cocktails that are all so fun (definitely a must-try!). We got their Happy Hour seafood tower, uni ramen, and wagyu ramen alongside a couple of their cocktails. Their seafood tower was delicious and a great deal during HH. I loved their soupless uni and wagyu ramen and both were special in their own way. The wagyu ramen came with bone marrow and was full of flavor and so rich. The uni in the uni ramen wasn't the most buttery, but it was still good nonetheless and I loved the addition of roe and seaweed into the dish. Their cocktails were so fun and one of them (I believe it was the Botanical Garden) doubled as our dessert as it came with shaved ice haha. Great spot and I highly recommend.

Came here for happy hour, they have $1 oysters which is a great choice. The drinks are made crafted by a mixologist and it did not miss. If you’re looking for a great date night vibe or just a low key place to go out with friends this is a nice place to visit.

Fu Yuan is a small restaurant located in the heart of Main Street, Flushing. Despite the lack of seating, it offers delicious and affordable classic dishes such as Curry Fish Ball Rice Noodles, Shrimp Rice Noodle Rolls, and Steamed Rice Noodle Rolls. The noodles are cooked to perfection and generously topped with a well-balanced combination of sauces including soy sauce, peanut sauce, and sriracha/hot sauce.
we ordered the shrimp rice roll and the curry fish ball rice roll! the shrimp were perfectly tender and bouncy and the rice rolls were very soft and soaked up the sauce well. the curry fish ball portion was pretty small which was a bit disappointing but the rolled and sliced rice rolls had a nice texture to them as well! what they mean when they ask if you want it spicy is if you want a drizzle of sriracha. id recommend this if you're getting the peanut sauce with the curry fish balls. no seating and cash only afaik.

Wow! This no-frills take-and-go little spot that serves some of the freshest, most delicious steamed rice noodles I've ever had. We got the small beef and small shrimp versions, and they were incredible! The secret is in the sauces—definitely say "yes" to all of them. The mix of soy, peanut, and a hint of spicy sauce with a dash of sesame seeds is perfection. This place, a hole-in-the-wall located just steps off the subway, just look for the blue awning, is a fantastic value -- bring cash. Keep these awesome local stalls thriving. Enjoy the food and don't forget to tip! 🍜

Tiny window service HK style takeout on Roosevelt, between Main and Prince. Very short line of 1 person ahead of us on the order line on this cold, blustery Sunday afternoon. There were already about a dozen people mulling about waiting for their orders. The order taker spoke Cantonese (actually quite rare in Flushing) and was professional and efficient. To sample the quintessential HK archetype, we ordered a basic wonton noodle and added the stewed beef for $3 more. Soup was clear and packed separately from the wonton noodles and stewed beef. Wontons were acceptable, no shrimp were present in mine. Noodles were crispy, not soggy and the stewed beef was well flavored. Not greasy, not oily, but cut into very small, almost dainty 1/2" x 1/2" pieces, not the traditional large chunks usually served. 3 small stalks of yu choy were also included. $11.50 total for stewed beef, wonton noodle, cash only. Fair for 2025 prices. This seems like another example of the latest and greatest FOMO where "if there's a super long line and bunches of folks are all willing to wait, then this must be great". Good, but not worth a 20-30+ minute wait. Noodletown NY on the Bowery, Wu's Wonton King LES are packed with Tiktok gen hipsters, but still have the right combination of biohazard bathroom + old skool HK, hanging duck greasy spoon we drool over. If there's no line here, thumbs up, otherwise go to Shun Won.

Ivan Ramen, located in New York City's Lower East Side, is a vibrant and popular spot known for its creative homemade noodle soups and izakaya-style small plates. Chef Ivan Orkin's flagship restaurant has garnered acclaim from respected critics and was even featured on Netflix's 'Chef's Table.'
Spectacular all around! Everything we tried was delicious. The seaweed kimchi was phenomenal, the ramen - out of this world (every single spoonful and every bite was divine), very interesting n/a drinks and the smoothest cheesecake. Very nice staff. We got there at around 3:45 p.m., and it was nearly empty. Food was served very quickly, and it's very convenient that you can pay through the QR code on your table. We were also really surprised by how low the prices were compared to the quality they offer! If we lived closer, I would eat there every day! Can't wait to go back!

Ivan Ramen (yes, the Chef’s Table legend!) did not disappoint, chicken broth has been simmered for 8 hours, smooth yet silky, soft-boiled egg stirred in for that velvety touch, noodles with a perfect chewy bite. Crispy chicken skin + scallions on top = flavor bomb . And I loved those roasted tomatoes! Skin crackly, tangy-sweet and refreshing—such a genius twist! Will definitely return.

Amazing ramen! Had the spicy miso one. Very rich broth and the spice blend to the point with a divine garlic touch. Yet it was more of a Mala noodles to me. Noodles were perfectly cooked (a bit thin for my taste tho). Will come again for the tonkotsu.

This is my third or fourth time here. It’s always a great time, no matter the time of day or week. I came for lunch today and tried their new spicy veggie miso ramen and it’s honestly some of THE BEST ramen I’ve had in the area and city. As a noodle lover I’m always pleased when a place continues to elevate their menu.

Absolutely exceptional Ramen. The appetizer of the crunchy chicken was really yummy. The Ramen was a whole other level of ramen I’ve never had before. I got the Ramen with the crispy chicken on top. It was out of this world.

Ivan Ramen offers a refreshing take on a classic dish. The noodles were firm with a unique flavor, likely from a different flour blend, and stood out from any ramen I’ve had before. The broth also had a creative twist that felt light and clean without losing depth. I had the spicy miso and i think there is mala in there.. the different spice profile is well balanced. It’s a great example of how you can deviate from tradition and still deliver something just as satisfying as the original. Service is good - the staff is very attentive. Restaurant lighting is a little too dim imo.

Udon noodle restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Raku is a cozy and stylish spot located on Macdougal Street in SoHo, offering a variety of Japanese small plates and house udon specialties. The restaurant's unassuming exterior makes it easy to miss, but once inside, guests are greeted by a calming and transportive dining room. The menu at Raku can be overwhelming for first-time visitors, so it's best to start by deciding whether you want your udon warm or cold before exploring the extensive options.
I ordered the saba sushi, ankimo, ebiten udon, and sakura sake panna cotta. The udon was excellent. Both the broth and noodles were clean and well balanced. The panna cotta was very well made. The combination with red bean worked nicely and the subtle aroma of sake at the end was memorable. The ankimo was not very impressive even at $10. I personally found the shari in the saba sushi slightly too much, but not enough to break the overall balance of the sushi. The other dishes were also good. Overall, the flavors were clean and refined. The prices felt reasonable(for New York) and the quality is comparable to some of the best local spots in Japan.
Bo K — Google review
The noodles were perfectly cooked—chewy with just the right texture—and the curry broth had a balanced kick that brought everything together. The fried chicken was incredibly juicy and crispy, pairing perfectly with the sauce. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive throughout. A great experience overall!
Shreya B — Google review
The good: The udon noodles are excellent and perfectly chewy. The bad: - bathroom sinks are insanely small. I don’t know who looked at that and thought it was a good idea - they ran out of fried appetizers — three hours into service. That’s unacceptable, you’re open for another 6 hours! - you get very little protein for the amount of money you pay - we got zero service, nobody came to ever check up on us and it was extremely hard to flag someone down. - found a piece of black plastic in my food. I’m assuming it’s a piece of black nitrile glove?? - we opted to not tip because of these reasons, and the server thought it would be appropriate to “remind” us that tips aren’t included in the bill. When we said we knew, he asked if we were tipping in cash. Overall, for the price Raku is charging, this level of unprofessionalism doesn’t make sense. I would not recommend or return.
J S — Google review
The restaurant not too big, cozy, but pack, rsvp totally recommended if coming in rush hours. 90 mins to complete your meals since they are very busy so other customers can have an opportunity to dine in as well. Their steam eggs surprisingly so tasty and it took at least 20 to 25 mins wait for that dish. Their spinach and mushroom very simple yet very tasty as well. Udon was also good, overall I loved this place and I was glad that my hubby discovered it lol. We walked there since we were there on a vacation. There’s no way we would drive around NY. Too crazy and parking sucks. Good for kids, family as well. Serves beers and wines. Of course there is parking along the streets. But not easy to find one sometime. We either walk or uber when we come to NY.

Raku is hands down the best Udon spot I’ve ever been to - a must-visit for Udon lovers! 🥹 The noodles are insanely chewy, like mochi 😋The Kitsune was light and tasty, and the Tempura was crispy and delicious! Great pick for first-timers! Tantan had a nice kick but still felt clean and light. The Karaage was super juicy and tender 😗 - not a fan of the sauce, though. Highly recommend this place ✌️

Soba noodle shop
Asian restaurant
Health food restaurant
Cocoron is a cash-only Japanese noodle shop known for its wide selection of hot and cold soba dishes. The chefs, Yoshihito Kida and Mika Ohie, both from Japan, prepare scratch-made dishes with Kida making buckwheat noodles in-house and Ohie focusing on sides like house-made tofu. The cozy restaurant offers a variety of soba dishes served in soup or with dipping sauce, all made with flavorful broths.
I finally crossed Cocoron off my list as I’ve been craving for warm noodles. As a soba-ya, their soba really stood out, especially their dip soba as it is served in a hot stone pot. I was blown away by how extensive their menu was, as they served a variety of soba, curry and appetizers. The vibes of the restaurant reminded us of some Japanese hole-in-the-wall ramen spots. Friendly service, cozy space, clean bathroom. Seats are limited but they have another location 3 minutes away. ****CASH ONLY. There is also an ATM at the back of the restaurant. *Mera Mera Dip Soba $18.5 (L) Their most popular soba. Served in a hot stone pot, they lit the pot with fire to keep your dipping sauce steaming hot. The mera mera broth was similar to dan dan broth—it was a spicy sesame broth with minced chicken, bok choy and scallion. It was rich, thick and flavorful. You enjoy the dip soba as if you’re having tsukemen. Every strand of soba fully absorbed the sauce when I dipped into it, while the soba remained bouncy. After I finished my noodles, they gave me some soup to add into the sauce. *Warm Mera Mera Soba $19 (L) Another signature mera mera soba but a soupy version. We found the soba soggier and overcooked as it was soaked in the broth. My friend also found the broth a little bit bland compared to the dipping sauce. FYI small = 130g, large = 180g of soba. The price difference is $1.
Ruby C — Google review
Honestly. Unreal. So delicious. The mera mera soba has a deep sesame flavor. Its creamy. But not too heavy. So fragrant. Delicious. I understand why the ‘mera mera dip’ is an option now. It probably keeps the noodles from overcooking while they’re in the broth. The soup version (not dip) was amazing, but I’d try the dip next time to make sure the soba doesn’t keep cooking and get soft. They have cold noodles / cold soba which looks amazing and refreshing. The prices are ok. ~$18-20 per meal. For the quality, I think it’s worth it. Nice place to seat solo or with a group. They have several bar/window seats, which makes it good for a solo eat. I will go back for sure. Cash only !!! No card/credit.

i love coming to this place when the weather starts getting chilly. the mera mera has noodles with the slightly creamy and nutty soup and are a match made in heaven. i have tried a few other items on their menu but always go back to the mera mera or dipping soba. was recommended the chicken meatballs and they were nice.
Lori L — Google review
Cash only spot - their sukiyaki cold soba was good, great texture. The difference in size is only in the amount of noodles. Seaweed salad was interesting, worth trying.
Susie S — Google review
Such a lovely experience! I got the classic dip soba and LOVED it. The broth was so incredibly flavorful and warming, just what I needed on a chilly day. I recommend getting the large size noodles for just an extra dollar—definitely worth it and was a good ratio of noodle-to-broth. The noodles were perfectly bouncy and picked up the flavor of the broth beautifully. To be honest I had no idea if I was eating the noodles the technically ‘right’ way—the whole process of using the big spoon/bowl to assist in the dipping seemed so complicated—but I also had a lot of fun trying to figure it out, and it seemed to help me eat more slowly and enjoy the experience. The free tea the server brought us at the end of our meal was truly the cherry on top!!!
Ayda — Google review
Soba is nice, but also ordered their curry rice with came with exactly two pieces of undercooked potatoes, two pieces of overcooked carrots, and two random pieces of pork. Was not a good experience for the curry rice as it was a large yet the dish felt like mostly curry sauce and rice with improperly cooked ingredients.
Jeffrey C — Google review
A woodsy little soba spot with simple & hearty food. The space is on the tiny side, so be prepared for a wait after you put your name down on the paper wait list. This is a cash only spot, though they've got an ATM in the back. The Stamina Soba is so comforting, with thinly sliced pork on top of an umami broth and a slight hint of yuzu. The only note is that the soba noodles could benefit from a bit more chew. The broth flavor is simple but very satisfying, perfect for a cold winter evening.
Bill W — Google review
1. The food is decent, I would only recommend the soba and nothing else. The Stamina Don is not a “Powerful Bowl Dish”or “Gut-Busting, it is bland and not spicy. 2. The portions and taste of the appetizer was not worth the money to try. 3. The service was excellent, they rearranged the seating for our large group in a small restaurant. 4. The atmosphere was nice and homey, on busy days it can become crowded.

If you love rich, flavorful broth and chewy noodles, this place is definitely worth a try. Even with the bold broth, the chashu and egg each retain their distinct flavors. After finishing, the savory taste of the broth lingers in your mouth for a while.

Tried the tsukemen and tonkatsu jiro ramen at TabeTomo. The noodles were chewy and had a great texture, but tsukemen broth was extremely salty. I couldn't finish it, which was disappointing given the good noodle quality. Also we found a hair in Tonkatsu Jiro ramen… Overall, not something I'd go back for.

COME HERE - if you want the most full bodied, rich, and flavorful bowl of warm ramen. I ordered the seared mackerel appetizer and the tonkotsu chashu tsukemen. The fish was flavorful, satisfying and refreshing. Plus you get the added bonus of the torch at the table. The people next to us ordered the megamori tsukemen challenge. It was MASSIVE and gave everyone quite a good piece of entertainment for the night! No reservations, so prepare to wait OR get there on the earlier side. It was a Saturday at 5:30p and we waited about 15 mins! Enjoy !!!

First of all, the environment was very clean, atmosphere was very nice, quiet but you can still talk, the staff was very hospitable and welcoming. Second, appetizers was great, the karaage was insanely juicy and tender, prob one of the best karaage i’ve ever had, would recommend, the chicken skin was crispy and flavorful also very nice, the takoyaki was a bit too sourly on first bite due to the amount of sauce on it but besides that it was a pleasing osaka style takoyaki. Third, the jiro style ramen was nice, me and my friend had the tonkatsu chashu ramen, very flavorful especially with the chilli, can taste a bit salty after some bites but overall was a pleasing ramen, also the portion was HUGE you thought you’re almost finished but there’re still plenty inside the sound, the tonkatsu chashu tsukemen was also decent but it was even more salty than the ramen, so I’ll personally only get the ramen next time. Overall, would recommend, very nice appetizers with fairly priced ramen for the portion, the staff was hospitable the environment was enjoyable. Definitely would revisit. -sawa

In search for affordable new york ramen I ended up at this place. First of all, portion sizes are hugggee!? I went with my dad and we could hardly finish one big bowl of ramen together (we did have some delished torched mackerel that our waiter recommended on the side though). I really loved all the toppings. Probably the best tofu I've tasted, it was soft and silky, but not in a geletinous jelly kind of way. Just perfect. The rich and flavourfull broth was really to die for. Lovely food for a really affordable price. (btw the place was full of Asians, and if anyone is particular abou t their ramen it's them)

As a tsukemen in NYC, this place was great. Noodle does have a unique bounce to it. Similar to one in Japan. But your in nyc so don’t expect Japan price. Sat at the bar, good atmosphere. Large portion of noodle with a huge bowl of soup. I would advise the gf/wife just get the original tsukemen with single chasiu and add an extra egg. Dont get the cha siu tsukemme. or else you gonna have too many food. Or you can pack it to go home. That works too. Total meal: 2 noodles, 2 appetizer, 1 beer. Walked away 94$ but we got noodle packed to go for the midnight snack.

The best ramen I’ve had in NYC. The broth is flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and everything is consistently great. Friendly service and a comfortable space. Definitely worth coming back.

Everything is delicious here! I always get the tonkotsu chasu tsukemen. But today I had a sip of my friend's yasai tsukemen and it was unbelievably flavorful. I'll have to get it next time

Nepalese restaurant
Nepali Bhanchha Ghar, a beloved establishment in the neighborhood since 2015, is renowned for its award-winning jhol momo - steamed dumplings immersed in a spicy broth with tomato, sesame seeds, ginger, and garlic.
Lots of good food for very reasonable prices. Right off the 7 line so great for a pre or post game dinner. Momo's were great. They gave us tons of sauces too. Overall a great experience, and I look forward to returning.
Nick K — Google review
Tried steamed and chilli chicken momo. Loved the tenderness, flavors and the filling. Spicy sauce was superb. Staff should be a little mindful of the customers and maintain a peaceful ambience. An old lady was screaming on top of her lungs and we hated how loud she was.
Arya P — Google review
Nepali Bhanchha Ghar is definitely a hidden gem, and was on our list since it won the Momo Crawl in the past. We got 3 types of momos: fried potato, chicken jhol (soup) and the veggie steamed. The steamed veggie momos were not as flavorful as I was hoping, and needed a lot more sauce. Though, the chicken jhol momos were super tasty, and the soup itself added lots of flavor. The inside can accommodate small groups and they play Nepali music in the background which was charming! Tip: you have to pay at the front of the restaurant rather than waiting for the check.

This repeat momo crawl winner lived up to the hype! We came for a late lunch and we had 4 dishes that were all superb. Service is friendly and attentive. The vibe is relaxed… we felt like we had been transported to Nepal. We will be returning!!

If you are a fan of momos, then this is the place for it. Momos freshly made and delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was clean and represented Nepal. But the staff could have been more attentive and friendlier.

We loved the food here! We tried the unique fried Sel Roti and paneer jhol momos. Both dishes tasted amazing and portion size is really big for the price. Will definitely come back to try more dishes. The restaurant is located right outside the subway station.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect momo in Jackson Heights, and Nepali Bhancha Ghar did not disappoint! Since it was raining, a warm bowl of jhol momo was exactly what I needed. The chicken jhol momo was fantastic—the rich, flavorful broth had an incredible aroma that made it stand out. I also tried the steamed goat momo, which was juicy and delicious. The sel roti and the masala were okay. The butter tea was a unique experience! If you're looking for authentic Nepali food, especially on a chilly or rainy day, this place is a must-try.

Mandarin restaurant
Young and Rich NY is a trendy Chinese restaurant with a modern dining area adorned with Kaws, Murakami, and neon decor. The clientele consists of younger groups, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The menu features mostly Hunan specialties, including the house special sauce barramundi and spicy dishes like Smashed Chilies w. Preserved Egg. The portions are generous and reasonably priced, making it family-friendly.
Stumbled upon this Hunan restaurant in Flushing — the food was a great surprise! The Stir-fried Beef with Chili was flavorful and tender with just the right kick of spice. The Steamed Egg with Minced Pork was silky and savory, and the Golden Crispy Corn was sweet, crispy, and addictive. The vibe in the restaurant was also great, and the owner has really good taste in music. Will definitely come back!
Harry C — Google review
Hunan restaurants in NYC are harder to find than a Republican at Burning Man, so when I came across Young and Rich as a lunch contender, I was skeptical there'd actually be authentic (and good) Hunan dishes. But there were, and I was more than happy to be wrong. The black Fried Stinky Tofu was delightfully musky and pungent, though nowhere near as stinky as its Taiwanese cousin (as is typical). Definitely get this for dining mates who've always wanted to try stinky tofu but need a "training wheels" version to start. The Sauteed Prawns with Garlic and Vermicelli were gloriously crunchy and juicy, while the Griddle Spicy Bullfrog Pot was classic Hunan in a stew--from the chewy frog meat to the delicious green peppers. Similarly, the Stir-Fried Beef Hunan Style hit all the right regional notes. And the House Special Fish Head with Hunan Pepper--while taking an extra 45 min to prepare--was worth the wait for the mouth-tender fish and delicate spice, so similar yet so different from its bombastic Sichuan cousin. Service was pretty easy and attentive throughout, and the decor was modern and clean.

This is a clean and spacious Hunan restaurant in a busy area of Flushing. The food is absolutely delicious (and spicy)! I especially like the pepper and pork dish. Service is prompt and courteous.
Chenyu L — Google review
This spot is a nice choice if atmosphere is what you’re after, since the vibe is warm and inviting. However, the food left me a bit underwhelmed. I came early in the morning hoping for authentic Hunan flavors, but the spicy beef tasted just okay and felt like it had been premade. The seasoning seemed overly processed, with a chemical aftertaste that wasn’t very pleasant on the palate or the stomach. While it wasn’t terrible, it definitely didn’t deliver the fresh, bold flavors I was hoping for.
Chen Z — Google review
Very authentic hunan dishes. The spicy pork feet was so good that I had almost half of it. The grilled garlic fish is fine. Will try the spicy one next time.
Fiona Z — Google review
Highly recommend this hidden Hunan restaurant in Flushing! The stir-fried beef with chili is perfectly cooked—spicy, flavorful, and incredibly tender. The steamed egg with minced pork is silky and savory, making it the perfect match with rice. The golden crispy corn is crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, and so sweet you can’t stop eating it! What’s even more fun is the owner’s great taste in music—enjoying delicious food with great tunes made the whole vibe perfect. If you love Hunan cuisine, don’t miss this place—it’s the kind of spot you’ll want to come back to again and again!

Amazing Garlic Pork Ribs — Crispy, Flavorful, and Perfectly Cooked! These garlic pork ribs are absolutely incredible! The ribs are fried to perfection — crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. They're coated with crunchy fried garlic that adds a burst of aroma with every bite. As soon as you take a bite, the rich garlic flavor fills your mouth, blending perfectly with the tender and flavorful meat inside. The seasoning is spot-on, and the texture is just right — not too greasy, not too dry. Definitely a must-try for garlic lovers! Highly recommend giving these a try. You won’t be disappointed!

JiBeiChuan Noodles in Flushing is known for its prized delicacy featuring fish maw, a key ingredient in their specialty soup. The dish combines fish maw, chicken, and rice noodles in a delicate and flavorful broth. Customers recommend trying the ma la noodle soups for a deliciously spicy yet enjoyable experience. While the restaurant's small size may lead to limited seating, the attentive service from friendly staff members enhances the dining experience.

Lovely unassuming spot along Prince Street, amidst a bunch of bakeries and tea shops. You’ll find this near the Tangram mall. I’ve been struggling to find a good noodle place that had /actual/ flavor and used not old-ish meat. So I was relieved to find this place. The portion size can be split generously within two people and even three if you order something with broth or soup. Do note though that the flavors are there & good but not strong. However, you can definitely change that with special instructions. Staff was accommodating and patient. Place was not that big and would most likely have you waiting if it’s the lunch/dinner rush. But well-maintained. Can’t wait to try the cold chicken slices and other appetizers.
Bey S — Google review
Overall, I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was tasty, the service was good, and everything looked clean. They seated me quickly, and the portions were huge — one dish is definitely enough for two people. I ordered a tomato noodle soup, but I found it had way too many noodles and not enough vegetables or meat. Also, since most of the broths are pork-based, there aren’t many options if you don’t eat pork. I also tried the mushroom (wood ear) salad, which was fresh and delicious. In short: the food is good and flavorful, but I’d love to see more balance with the soup (less noodles, more veggies and meat) and a few more non-pork soup options on the menu

Had a long layover at JFK so decided on this place based on Google Maps reviews. Easy to find and my meal and service were excellent. Photo of Tom Yum noodle soup. Ordering is through a menu Ipad with photos. Super easy and convenient to place your order. I will be back.

I ordered the original bone soup rice noodles. The broth was extraordinarily mild, with each bite leaving something to be desired. I believe this is the kind of meal you would seek if you had a cold—not overwhelming, but a gentle anecdote. However, I did not have a cold on this day, so perhaps a different menu option would have been better.

Decided to stop in and was so excited they had Tom Yum noodles! My boyfriend ordered regular spice and I was a little worried, but it was delicious!! Like a slow burn but not too much to make it unenjoyable 🌶️ It was the perfect amount of spice and sour and I was in loveeee. If you’re a Tom Yum enjoyer, this is a MUST ORDER! I believe you can pick seafood or beef, but it also had tofu skin, fungus, enoki mushrooms, (another white mushroom I forgot the name of 😭), tomatoes, cabbage, quail egg, so much yummy stuff! All my friends also enjoyed their meals except the friend who got the mala which was too spicy for them, but it still looked delicious! I also liked that they hand you a tablet to order so there’s no need to stress and rush, just add what you want to cart and give it back to the servers! The food came out fast and the portions were amazing for the price! I have another whole meal after eating as much as I could for only $16! The servers were friendly and packed our meals togo for us! 🥹 There was also a promotion when we came in for buy 4 meals get 1 free so that was a pleasant surprise! I’ll definately need to stop by again whenever I’m craving Tom Yum 🤤

Flushing always surprises me. The noodles in this place are good. I’m surprised by the volume because it’s HUGE. It is served in a pot like bowl, aka big. The classic soup noodles I ordered is light, satisfying and the noodles are fresh and chewy. It’s a very satisfying meal.
Shako L — Google review
I love rice noodles and the ones here are perfect. The texture is smooth and chewy in the best way. I always get the bone soup rice noodles and it hits the spot especially now that the weather is getting cooler. I usually order for pickup and they package it really well. The noodles and soup are packed separately so the noodles don’t get soggy. The price point is great and the portion is big. I usually save the other half for later. Super satisfying every time. Will definitely come to dine in next time!

Maxi's Noodle is a cozy spot that specializes in serving Hong Kong-style noodle soups with wontons, dumplings, and other delicious toppings. The cafe offers a variety of options such as springy egg noodles, generously sized dace fish balls, and rich beef stew to accompany the flavorful broth. Customers can also enjoy outdoor seating while savoring their hot bowls of soup. The place comes highly recommended for its tasty wontons and dumplings, along with the friendly service.
Arguably my favorite wontons outside of Hong Kong, approved by a Hong Konger! Last year, Yelp ranked Maxi's Noodle No.1 on their Top 100 Chinese Restaurants list, and for good reason. It is a mom-and-pop restaurant specialized in Hong Kong style wonton noodles. You can add one topping for $10.75 or two toppings for $11.75. Beef stew/tendon is an additional $2. It’s not the cheapest, but the quality is definitely worth it, Especially since wonton noodles could be pricey even in Hong Kong. They have two locations in Flushing and a new location in Chinatown. *Flat Rice Noodle with Wonton and Beef Stew 雲吞牛腩河 $13.75 I went with their hor fun (flat rice noodles), which were smooth and perfectly cooked. The wontons were filled with plump and meaty shrimps. The braised beef shank was another highlight—it had a great balance of tender tendon and lean meat, packed with flavor. The broth could’ve been a bit richer, but on the plus side, it means they don’t use MSG. I didn't try but my relatives also sing praises about their dace fish balls (鯪魚球).
Ruby C — Google review
The braised beef melts in your mouth, and the dumplings are packed and flavorful. But the real winner for me is the dry egg noodles sooo good! 🫶🏻 Definitely coming back for more! 🍜💯

The most incredible noodle soup I've had in a while, and the price makes it even more enjoyable. The wontons, dumplings and fish ball size is on another level, stuffed with meat, and seafood. Definitely looking to go back when I visit NYC again

No frills place with a few seats inside and a handful of outdoor tables. I got the noodle soup with wontons and dumplings because I wanted to check which I would prefer. Both were exceptional...bursting with shrimp. Noodles were the perfect level of springy. I, personally, found the broth too fishy for my liking, but chili oil and vinegar helped. Large servings and efficient service.
Lisa W — Google review
Best noodles I have had in a while! The options were great and very customizable to your liking. The dumplings were delicious. I was out of state and hope to come back again soon. Might make the trip just to eat here. There was a little bit of a wait as it is very small and very busy but very well worth the wait!

This is a cozy, local wonton noodle spot in Flushing, New York. The highlight here is definitely the shrimp wonton noodle soup. The wontons are big and packed with plump, juicy shrimp. So flavorful and satisfying! They also offer a variety of street-style side dishes, and everything I tried was delicious. You can also take the wontons to go. They freeze well and are great to enjoy at home later. The atmosphere is casual and no-frills, making it the perfect place for a quick and tasty Chinese meal.
S. B — Google review
As someone who lived and worked in Hong Kong, I can genuinely attest to the quality and authenticity of Maxi's Noodles. This place is the real deal. The star of the show is, without a doubt, the Wonton Noodles. The noodles themselves are perfectly springy with a great bite, but the wontons are what truly set them apart. They are generously large, packed full of succulent shrimp, and are nothing like the typical, smaller wontons you find elsewhere in NYC. This is Maxi's signature, and we love it. We started with the Curry Fish Balls, and they instantly transported me back to the streets of HK. They were perfectly bouncy and soaked in a fragrant, savory curry sauce that was absolutely addictive. Our family keeps coming back to explore the rest of the extensive menu: My father swears by the Ja Jiang Mein. I always get the Imitation Shark Fin Soup with dace fish on top. I can taste that the soup has been stewed with dried flounder, pork, and finished w yellow chives, is incredibly umami, deep and authentic. Even our vegan friends are covered! The Stewed Mushroom Noodle Soup features thick, fat, and incredibly flavorful mushrooms. We devoured the fried wontons and my mom loves the Beef Stew with Tendon since its not tough and a tender chew. The heart of the operation is Maxi herself. If you do get to see her, her passionate energy is infectious. You can tell she puts her soul into the restaurant, whether she’s manning the counter, rolling up her sleeves wrapping her famous wontons. This is a special restaurant that truly cares about its craft. Highly recommended!
Yin L — Google review
Cantonese wonton noodles are more than just a dish they’re a piece of culinary history. Originating in Guangzhou in the early 20th century and perfected on the bustling streets of Hong Kong, the dish became a symbol of craftsmanship and comfort: springy egg noodles in a delicate seafood and pork broth, crowned with silky shrimp wontons. At Maxi Noodle in Flushing, this tradition is honored and preserved with remarkable care. On my visit, I ordered the wonton, dumpling, and dace fish ball noodle soup with duck egg noodles. Duck egg noodles are a defining element of the Hong Kong style, their rich yolks lending both golden color and that signature springy bite. The broth, cooked with pork bones and dried seafood, was light yet layered exactly as it should be: clean enough to sip, complex enough to linger. The wontons themselves were outstanding plump, generously filled with whole shrimp, wrapped in delicate skins that held their form without becoming gummy. This reflects the Hong Kong tradition, where shrimp not pork is the star. The dumplings offered a heartier contrast with pork and vegetables, while the dace fish balls were a true nod to Cantonese heritage. Dace, a freshwater fish native to southern China, has long been used to make bouncy, hand-formed fish balls that embody both texture and flavor a staple of Hong Kong street food and noodle culture. To finish, I added a dash of red vinegar and a spoon of house-made chili oil. The vinegar cut through the richness with brightness, while the chili oil layered on a fragrant, smoky heat. It elevated the bowl from comforting to addictive the kind of detail that separates good from unforgettable. I didn’t try them this time, but Maxi Noodle’s menu reflects the full diversity of Cantonese comfort food. The curry fish balls recall the savory snacks sold on the streets of Hong Kong; the beef stew with tendon is praised for being braised until meltingly tender; and the stewed mushroom noodles showcase the depth of flavor that even a meatless broth can achieve. What makes this place truly special, though, is Maxi herself. She can often be seen hand-wrapping wontons at the counter a small but powerful gesture that shows her dedication to her craft. That passion flows into every bowl, turning what might seem like a casual noodle shop into a living link to Hong Kong’s food heritage.

Marufuku Ramen, a celebrated soup spot from the Bay Area, has made its mark in New York with its Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen featuring a milky 20-hour simmered pork broth and customizable spice levels. The menu offers various options including chicken and vegetable broths, along with Japanese appetizers like gyoza and edamame. Customers praise the rich and creamy broth, flavorful ramen choices, and generous portions of meat.
I really enjoyed the ramen here—it's a reliable, satisfying bowl that comes absolutely loaded with toppings. I had the hakata tonkatsu dx bowl of ramen that features a light, flavorful broth with hints of pork and corn that feels comforting without being too heavy. I also tried the gyoza, which were just okay, but the super refreshing side salad made up for it. The sweet soy dressing was something I'd come back to have again. The atmosphere is lively and fun, making it a spot I’d happily return to.

We stumbled into here late afternoon after our intended kitchen had already closed for dinner prep, and boy were we glad that we did. This is a hidden gem (I was surprised to learn it is a franchise) that has it all - fantastic Japanese-styled service, attractive pricing, and solid ramen. We had the Spicy Tantan ramen which was delicious and the right amount of heat - very much present but not overwhelming. The broth was delicious and took them up on the additional order of noodles. Menu is simple and straightforward. Their gyoza had me reminiscing about my long overdue Trader Joe’s shopping trip, but at $3 for 6 pieces during happy hour, I wasn’t disappointed. The main dining was populated by a good number of families - both visiting and locals alike. The entrance had a wonderful bar that looks into the kitchen and feels like a perfect spot if you were looking to dine alone and many were. If you are looking for a salve for a colder night or winter day that won’t break the bank, this checks all the boxes.

Susuru Ramen is a cozy spot in Astoria offering Japanese noodle soups, rice bowls, and buns filled with meat or seafood. The veggie miso ramen features an earthy brown soup made from shiitake mushrooms and kombu, sticking to classic toppings like bamboo shoots, onions, corn, and fresh cabbage. With a simple interior and reasonable craft beer list, it's a great place for ramen lovers.
Loved their spicy wings. They came spicy with a light nose of yuzu which made them taste so special and delicious. The Tan Tan Ramen we tried was good too, the noodles which I believe are homemade came in a perfect firmness were my favorite. Just a cute, minimal stylish spot with delicious place that run by friendly Japanese crews that we will definitely keep coming back to!

This place had AWESOME RAMEN!! Loved it!! Wasn’t expensive either - plain ramen was $7, beef $12, miso $15. The broth was so so good. The beer was cheap too. Soup dumplings and pan-fried dumplings as well. Great place!!!

I ordered the Deluxe Ramen, which had a very gentle and comforting flavor. The ramen included finely chopped onions, and since I’m not a big fan of onions, I personally would have preferred it without them. When I added the black sauce, it brought out a strong garlic flavor, so I could enjoy both the light, delicate taste and the bold garlic punch in one bowl. The noodles were on the thicker side, and for me, they didn’t pair perfectly with the soup. The service was excellent, and the interior had a nostalgic feel, almost like a traditional countryside ramen shop in Japan, which I really loved. For appetizers, I ordered the karaage and gyoza, and both were delicious. The karaage looked simple but was perfectly executed, and I absolutely loved it—I’ll definitely order it again. The gyoza also tasted handmade and was very flavorful. They also have a great selection of sake and beer, which makes me want to come back again for sure.

At this bare bones ramen shop with tables furnished of plywood, you’ll find one of the best paitan chicken broth ramen bowls around. Been curious about this Ramen ever since a friend recommend this and also I read some good reviews online. First of all, the place. I wish the place could be nicer lil bit. It doesn't give the cozy vibes, doesn't give a feeling of welcoming or feeling want to come back. The food. My friend and I we ordered gyoza and karaage as appetizer. The karaage was soooo delicious. I love it. The gyoza just okay, almost similar like frozen gyoza we can get from costco or BJ's. Nothing special. Then for ramen we ordered Paitan and Tantan. The Tantan was soo good but the Pairan, I don't know what to say. Just blant, didnt like it at all. But the server, who also the hostess herself was sooooo nice. She did her job very well. She maintain the line and serving other customers at the same time. Thumbs up for her. So. My conclusion. It's good but not that great. Well, maybe I should try other ramen and other appetizers next time.

I was specifically looking for ramen that wasn't of the pork broth/tonkatsu variety. For this reason I landed on going here instead of the other ramen restaurants nearby. I went ahead and ordered the deluxe ramen so I can intake more protein and it was pretty good! The wait staff was really nice and diligent. It was also a pretty hot day today mid day around 1 PM so we were the only ones in the store. Not sure how they are when it is busier. The food was great. Since I've mainly eaten ramen in LA/Vegas/AZ and only had 3 ramen places in NYC, I would say it's probably on par with most places. It definitely is worth a shot if you like chicken base broth as opposed to tonkatsu, miso, or shoyu ramen.

Hong Kong style fast food restaurant
Nestled within the vibrant Canal Street Market, Joe's Steam Rice Roll is a fast-food gem that specializes in the beloved Cantonese rice noodle dish known as cheong fun. This culinary hotspot has garnered attention from both press and social media, with captivating videos showcasing the artful preparation of these delicate steamed rolls. The process is nothing short of mesmerizing—rice flour and starch are transformed into silky noodles, which are then expertly folded with various fillings before being sliced and plated in one fluid motion.
What can I say about Joe’s Steam Rice Roll on Canal St? Hmmm…pure joy! The taste, texture, customer service and even the food court ambiance was kinda charming 😊. Price-wise very affordable too! I would do it again in a heartbeat and can’t wait for another NYC visit! 👍🏼😋👌🏼 P.S. Peanut sauce, spicy sauce or even soy sauce…anything & everything works with Joe’s Signature Steam Rice Roll!

If you’re in Chinatown for food, don’t waste your time here. You can get insanely delicious food for 1/4 the cost and 2x the portion down the block. The chili oil wontons were somehow flavorless, and the beef rice roll was awful. The beef was mushy and grey colored, and the dried shrimp must’ve been expired because it had a rotting fish taste to it. This is some kind of tourist trap, or for people who don’t know what good tastes like. Super disappointed, because it really looked delicious.
Leah — Google review
Sometimes a meal just isn’t what you hoped it would be. Sometimes people talk something up and you know that you like other items that are somewhat similar so you get in your head that you’re bound to love this one. Such is the case for Joe’s Steam Rice Roll in Chinatown, NYC. I had never done the steam rice roll experience before but I love most things relating to rice noodles, especially the thicker version, so this item made too much sense for me. Double that with people telling me this spot was very good and now my mind is super excited to get in and try this out. It was also inside this cool indoor market type spot with other vendors like a milk tea place, video games, an antique-y type store, etc. Sadly this fell short of the mark. The rest of the days mini bite tour had a lot of pork involved so I went with the beef version of the noodles and I added some egg, scallion, and sesame seed. Somehow they managed to remove the flavor of all of these items. I’m not even sure how that’s possible. Every bite of this was bland. I’ve had bland noodles many times in my life, but to add these ingredients to them, even after tossing some soy sauce on to try and combat the lack of flavor, it was still very light at best. A sad result but they can’t all be winners. Joe’s Steam Rice Roll - Sucked.

The vegetarian rice roll was surprisingly a bigger portion than expected! It was delicious and the option to douse it in spices and oils was key! It took a bit to order but at least you know it's made fresh and delish! I love the food court vibe to the Canal Street Market and the availability of multiple options and good seating to enjoy indoors! Will definitely come back here for more food and to get these veggie rice rolls again!
Kunal D — Google review
Their rice noodle roll are soft and made to order, so they are nice and hot and fresh! They have customized rice noodle roll that you can pick and choose your ingredients to add in. I ordered a plain rice roll with egg, bbq pork, scallion, and 4 curry fish balls on top. Sauces are provided at the pick up station, so please serve yourself. Oh, their curry fish balls are pretty soft and chewy with delicious curry sauce flavor vs other places are usually more hard or tasteless fishballs. I also ordered their crepe with pork floss and scallion. The crepe comes with these crunchy cracker or chip like ingredient and lettuce. So the overall crepe was pretty good with multiple textures while eating that. But I gotta say, it is very filling! One upsetting and disappointing part was while eating the rice roll, there was a small plastic piece inside!! Quite disturbing while trying to enjoy the food.
Cathy ( — Google review
The cafeteria setting is very vibrant and fun. I had the combination rice roll and it was tasty, but not the best I’ve had. It was also quite pricey compared to other locations that serve this. The curry fish balls were quite flavorful.

Rice rolls come with your choice topping and $7 gets you a large portion . This was my first time trying a rice roll so although I can’t compare to others I really enjoyed it. The wonton in spicy chili was good and also $7. It’s rare to get such a good deal in Manhattan!

Located on Canal Street in the heart of Chinatown NYC, this food court stand makes steamed rice rolls to order. Ignore that it is all served on disposable plates. The food is well prepared and delicious. The space has open tables for all patrons of various food vending stands. Various items can be included to fill the steamed rice rolls. Ordering and payment is done by tablet or at the counter if you have questions. Recommended for a quick snack or lunch.

Shinka Ramen & Sake Bar offers an intimate setting with a wide selection of savory slow-cooked ramen bowls, BBQ options, and an extensive sake menu. The standout dish is the award-winning beef bone marrow ramen, made from 14-hour simmered wagyu bones with their marrow. The menu also features other tempting options like pork baos and spicy tuna tacos.
This place brings the heat in many ways. Good variety of drink options. We had the pork buns, soft shell crab buns, and the ramen with bone marrow. The bartender was really nice and recommended us drinks to try. The first time I had a matcha IPA drink. Will be returning for sure

My sister, partner and I went to Shinka for some ramen. We ordered the Beef bone broth ramen and the Birria ramen. Bone broth was to die for, ugh. Birria was okay still tasty but it doesn’t compare. Helen was our server and bartender. She is amazing! She gave us have some free shots. If you visit ask for Helen.

This restaurant truly deserves five stars! The staff are friendly and attentive, providing excellent service that makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The food is delicious, with every dish prepared to perfection. The beef bone marrow ramen, in particular, is absolutely incredible—rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The environment is warm, inviting, and well-kept, making it a perfect place to enjoy a great meal with friends or family.
Go G — Google review
We came here for dinner, and I decided to try the bone marrow ramen. The broth was absolutely fantastic—rich, flavorful, and perfectly thick. However, the noodles weren’t quite to my liking; I personally prefer thicker noodles that could complement the hearty broth better. The restaurant itself has a laid-back and cozy atmosphere, making it a great spot to unwind and enjoy a comforting meal. Overall, it’s a solid ramen shop with unique offerings.

Blown away like a torpedo out of the water 💥 💥 Michelin star quality BROTH with beef bone marrow. 🥇🥇 Ramen was good but the broth, oh the broth, no words …. 🥹 I grew up here and ate pretty much at all the Asian hot spots from Mott St to cheap eats on Christie St. I wouldn’t have to pay more than $3.50 - $12 for a bowl of noodles. So $21 for this beef bone marrow ramen aka GYUKOTSU is damn excessive but rightly justified. I waited 15 minutes and well worth it 👍👍 I can devour this for lunch 7 days straight 🏆 First time here and I sat at the beer garden mistakenly. A more chill & laid back Japan setting is a quick walk up the steps. 2 establishments sharing 2 types of cuisine ✅✅

The ribs was very good. The nachos was from fried wonton skins which was very crispy and light and the toppings was a good match. We had the spicy tonkotsu ramen which was mildly spicy. The broth was good but didn’t need all the red oil on top that had no purpose. I removed as much as I could. The beef with marrow rant was delicious. Had a good dinner. Staff was friendly.

We were so blown away with the great customer service and phenomenal brunch that we came back later (the same day!) for an early dinner! They also have an awesome selection of beers on tap. During our first visit in the early afternoon -I opted for a rice bowl, my husband had steak tacos and my cousin had the wagyu sliders. Everything was absolutely delicious. Mahmod and Nahid were top notch waiters. They kept checking in with us to make sure all was well. It was a very relaxed and welcoming environment. Nahid and Mahmod enjoyed telling us about the different dishes on the menu and answered our questions without hesitation. They insisted that the next time we come back we try the Ramen. After we left the restaurant, we "worked up our appetite" again by exploring the Museum of Modern Art- so we decided to go back to Shinka! Since it was later in the day, the restaurant was more packed, but Nahid and Mahmod remembered us and welcomed us back with a friendly greeting. The atmosphere was alive with conversation and had a really chill vibe. I ordered the Bone Broth Ramen, my husband had the Wagyu sliders this time and we ordered the gyoza for appetizers. They food came out in a reasonable time. I was blown away by the Bone Broth Ramen. Like. Literally. I was almost emotional. Words can't describe the rich flavors I experienced. Eating the ramen felt like I was experiencing an outer body experience. The ramen and broth was delicious, delicate and rich. My husband was also mesmerized by the Ramen. Now let's talk about these Wagyu sliders. My cousin didn't offer us any when he had them and NOW we understand why. Those things are PHENOMENAL. You get three of them in an order and you will want more! The gyoza were also a hit!!! I have never seen gyoza presented the was that Shinka plates them. Underneath the crispy topping (which also tastes delicious!) are some the most delightful tasting gyoza . I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant if you get a chance to visit the Chinatown area of New York City.

Takoyaki has 6 balls and had barely any octopus in it. Nicely crisp and good flavor but the insides were a bit gooey and very soft almost as if it were undercooked. We also got the Shinka Tonkotsu Ramen and Beef Bone Marrow Gyukotsu ramen. IMO the tonkotsu ramen was better, just more flavorful. The bone marrow just tasted salty 😐 FYI Shinka and Beer Garden share a kitchen downstairs so wait time was extremely long… they also are probably understaffed so wait time for food is even longer.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dive into the world of Thai desserts, look no further than Khao Nom. This charming café in Elmhurst is a treasure trove of flavors, showcasing an array of pandan-infused, coconut-rich treats that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. While it was once customary to enjoy savory dishes at its sister establishment before indulging in sweets here, Khao Nom has expanded its menu significantly.
Everything we got was amazing!! Since it’s on the lane with so many other Thai restaurants Khao Nom still manages to stand out!! They specialize more in appetizers and rice dishes here as well as their dessert menu. Tip: if windows are open and you’re sitting by there, don’t have your bag/ phone so close to it where someone can steal / run with it bc that happened to someone here before which the waitress was giving us this advice. Super helpful and thankful for her on the heads up!! They also give you a wide range of home made Thai sauces which were also great but didn’t like that it was on the sweeter side of the spectrum We got: - crispy tofu skin 4.5/5: enjoyed this a lot, skin was perfectly crispy and very meaty, could’ve been a 5/5 if the sauced it paired with was more sour than sweet - corn fritters 4/5: not sure if this dish was always around but I’ve seen this at more Thai restaurants more often nowadays and if it was my first time eating it maybe i would’ve been more impressed. But fried corn fritters here were too fried and can taste the oil but the sauce makes it better. But still sweet here too - spring rolls 4.5/5: these were sooooo good, easily a 5/5 if the sauce was made better! Crispy, juicy, meaty, and flavorful! - pork belly and rice 4.5/5: soo good too, the pork belly here actually paired with the sauce very nicely! - Thai ice tea 5/5: perf milk to condense milk ratio We were also so sad the pandan dessert was sold out!! Will def come back to try that next time.

Wait was too long at saranrom Thai so we went here instead ~ Ordered the chef special and the braised pork was very soft and tender. It came with a spicy sauce that was very delicious! My friend said the food tasted like something off the streets from Thailand 😋 The only negative thing is that the drinks were too sweet :( unsure if u can adjust the sugar level

10/10!! The food was delicious, vegetarian friendly, and kid friendly. Worth going out of your way for. They were so nice, accommodating to a vegetarian diet, and a toddler. The food was the best I’ve had in a while!!

Khao Nom is such a hidden gem in Thaitown! I ordered the stir-fried minced pork with basil and fried egg, and the deep-fried shrimp cakes — both dishes were packed with flavor, cooked perfectly, and reminded me of the authentic tastes you’d find in Thailand. The basil pork had the right balance of savory and spicy, and the fried egg was perfectly crispy on the edges. The shrimp cakes were golden, juicy inside, and came with a tasty dipping sauce that paired so well. What really makes this place stand out is the variety of traditional Thai desserts they offer — it’s like stepping into a Thai dessert shop back home. There’s so much to choose from, and everything looks freshly made. On top of that, they also serve classic Thai-style dishes you’d find at local street-side eateries, which is such a treat if you’re craving true home-style flavors. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Whether you’re coming for a meal or just to pick up some desserts, it’s a great spot to experience real Thai flavors. If you’re visiting Thaitown, make sure to stop by and try it for yourself — I’ll definitely be coming back!

I would give zero if I could. I came there after dinner for the Thai dessert. We were told that we have to order 1 for each person, which agreed to and we did. The server was rude with an attitude. There was no any sign like "dine in tables are not for desserts" thing. After we ate, they ask if we want anything to go and we were like Sure.. and bought like 4 orders of desserts to go. When we get the check, they added 18% tips to everything including to-go orders. We were a party of 4. We didn't complain but paid and left. Won't be going there anymore. If they don't want customers who come for the desserts to have seated, put sign saying "desserts for to-go only"and 18% tips will be added automatically.

FUKUROU BROOKLYN is a captivating ramen restaurant with a unique ambiance resembling a botanical garden. The menu features delectable options such as takoyaki, spicy tonkotsu ramen, and braised pork belly rice bowl. The latter stands out as a phenomenal dish with juicy pork cuts and delicious shredded pork belly. While the Kamoni Shoyu Ramen offers generous duck slices, the noodles are deemed slightly flimsy.
Can’t hate another good Japanese spot in the area. There are plenty of other dishes I’d like to try here but this time we were feeling ramen. In short it’s good. Larger portion sizes than other more famous spots and the flavor and noodle texture was great. I word of warning if you ask for spicy they will give it to you, I could can hang awhile but eventually it did catch up to me.

Decent price and the service was good, but the food was okay. Maybe it was an off day, but the spring rolls we received were cold in the middle. The staff immediately corrected it and got us a new order of spring rolls. I would try again because everything else was pretty good.

New World Uyghur Cuisine, located in the basement food court of Flushing's New World Mall, offers a unique taste of Central Asia's Xinjiang region. The restaurant is known for its signature dish, lagman, which features hand-pulled noodles stir-fried with tender lamb, chili peppers, onions, and other vegetables in a flavorful sauce rich with spices.
Absolutely the most tender lamb skewers I’ve ever had. Served on authentic and traditional metal Uyghur skewers. So well spiced and great quality for an affordable price! They take cards too. I will come back with my parents next time! This family owned restaurant stall is such a gem. The family owners were working hard together as a family and it was beautiful to see. Lovely place.

Got one Samsa ($4.99) three beef skewers for $12.00 and lamb stir fried noodles for $13.99. One thing I can say is DELICIOUS. I will be coming here again. Everything was very tasty. However, I’d say the price for the beef skewers is a bit too high. new world mall in general stinks so it kind of made it hard to eat but once you’d eat the food, you forget about the unpleasant smell. I do recommend for other people to eat at a local park though to enjoy the food.

Tasty food, generous portions, the fresh hand pulled noodles are very good, along with the rice, the lamb is juicy and seasoned perfectly. The Naan bread is hot and delicious. As part of our food crawl in downtown Flushing, this was another place I told my buddy to try since many of the same establishments had a similar theme or food offering. The grilled lamb skewers were super tender and flavorful, with big chunks of meat. The lamb noodle dish was a bit salty for our taste but still very good, and the noodles were perfectly chewy. Loved the Uyghur yogurt with honey, refreshing and perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy.

Pata Paplean is a homey bar with a playful vibe that specializes in Thai-inspired dishes and drinks. You can't go wrong with any bowl of noodles here, whether it's steaming bowls of boat noodles or sweet-and-sour tom yum. The only thing wished would change about Pata Paplean is that its noodle soups would be served in bigger bowls because always another bite is delicious!
If you're in Elmhurst and craving authentic Thai comfort food, Pata Paplean is an absolute must. The vibe is eclectic and fun—colorful chairs, street-style signs, and all the charm of "Little Thailand" packed into one cozy spot. But the real star? Their noodle soup. It's hands down the best I've had around here—rich, savory broth full of depth, tender meat, and just the right balance of spice and tang. Every spoonful feels like a warm hug from Thailand. Bonus points for the quirky decor and friendly, no-fuss service. Just grab a seat, dive into the menu, and enjoy a taste of Bangkok right in Queens.

Small potion for large size order and overprice. A few meat balls for $11 and not given an option to customer for gratuity based on their service. You have to use cash only and bill is not systematically. Really annoying and not in good service. No water refill and have to wait a while for that and how they the added the gratuity without any given options to the customer.

My favorite Thai noodle shop in the Elmhurst area makes me feel like I’m back in Thailand—everything tastes amazing. I usually order the Nam Tok noodles, but today they launched a new hot-pot menu. You can choose from a variety of broths—Tom Saap, Tom Yum, Nam Tok, or clear soup—all of which are incredibly delicious and perfect for chilly weather. I highly recommend giving it a try! Next time I’ll sample one of the other broths. Today I went with the Nam Tok—it was so good! You really must try it!

Such a cute little Thai noodles shop. We had the Tom yum noodle soup and the nam tok beef soup. Both were really good and the soup/ingredients were authentic. Not too many seats making it kinda cozy (only one outdoor table), and deco was nice and it does make you feel a little bit like you are on the street side in Thailand. Would be back again to try some other dishes!

Feel like being back in Thailand! I have eaten here too many times not to leave a review. Growing up in Bangkok , this place brings back good childhood memories. Noodle with clear broth is my all time favorite. The taste is authentic, the ingredients are fresh. I especially love the crispy pork rind toppings. The portion is not too big , just like the portion you would generally find in Thailand. I always have room to order dessert or sweet drink after. Wish there is a location in Manhattan, then I would be there every weekend :)

Packed with fresh seafood, fish balls, tofu, and morning glory, every bite is comforting and flavorful. The portion size is generous, and the toppings are cooked to perfection, making it both filling and satisfying. Beyond the food, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff add to the charm, making Pata Paplearn not just a place to eat, but a spot to truly enjoy authentic Thai comfort food. One standout dish is the Spicy Cloudy Pork ramen, featuring tonkotsu broth with braised pork belly, scallions, yuzu kosho, and lo mein noodles.

In all honesty . I would not go here again. The cashier was helpful but as for the food . It’s a hard NO for me . I ordered the chicken bites with French fries $19. The chicken was undercooked and overbreaded . The apricot sauce is good but it was a bit too sticky . A solid 1/10 .

The value for the meal is great here you get a well rounded meal, the noodles, veggies and chicken are cooked to perfection. There was what seems to be dumplings in it as well. It came with a nice soup spoon and chopsticks to complete the Japanese experience (despite not being so good at using the chopsticks I still didn't get a fork) The staff were great (one of them was wearing the apron as a cape 🤣).

I was at the Hudson yards location at 1pm on Tuesday 12/12. I must say this was the worst service have ever received. I purchased my meal at the kiosk entered the corresponding information.
