Resort hotel
The Hotel Zugspitze is a traditional, alpine building located in the heart of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Offering a spa, pool, hot tub and steam room, as well as free tai chi courses and afternoon teas every day, this 4-star hotel is perfect for anyone looking for luxury accommodation in the area.
Amazing front of house staff that will go above and beyond to help you. Rooms beautifully clean and well appointed. Breakfast had plenty of options and having breakfast on the terrace was a delightful experience. The pool and spa area the whole family loved. Ideally situated and in fact we only planned to stay one night but extended to 3 (partly because our car broke down! 😢) but in a way we are glad because it gave us more time exploring around Garmisch, Zugspitze, Eibsee and Mount Wank. After we travelled to Zermatt and Chamonix and we honestly think Garmisch is massively underrated. Visit now.

The Best hotel of our trip! Staff were excellent and so helpful at all times. Great location. Nice room with extra space and a balcony. Coffee maker in the room which was nonexistent in Austria! Excellent breakfast and get snacks in afternoon. Public transport is easy to use. You get a guest pass for free public transport if you stay a couple days.

Really Brilliant and good value. Such a tidy place, friendly and organised. The Bed was super comfortable and the bathroom to the highest standard. Breakfasts were great with a brilliant choice of Continental style and UK-type style. Location was not spectacular in scenery, but being in the best part of town & handy shops; so I say 5 Stars. We had dinner in the Hotel. Excellent and amazing value. The Sauna Area, pool and hot bubble tub, were also top notch. Really, overall, excellent.

I can see what this hotel has such great reviews, it’s a fantastic spot to stay. Good location, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. This place is so lovely, the staff is kind, the rooms are cozy and really well appointed, the sauna is a nice touch as is the afternoon snack and other bonuses. Will definitely be back!

OK... Normally I am very picky about my hotels and the quality of services within. I have to say my stay at the Hotel Zugspitze was extraordinary. I stayed in a Junior Suite and it was clean, neat, well organized, had a small kitchenette with dining, a sofa... and out of this world views of the mountains. Daily service was excellent. Breakfast was included and along with the standard German Breakfast, the kitchen would make dishes to order if you asked. Great service! Finally, the restaurant was exceptional. My meal was a superb blend of seasoning and flavors that complimented each other (I had Pork roasted over a beech wood fire, sliced roasted potatatoes, and fresh white asparagus) and it was perfect. Topping it off, Apfel Strudel was so flakey that pastry flakes went everywhere with each bite... Definitely will return and stay again!!!

We really loved our stay at Hotel Zugspitze in April! The entire place has such a warm, cosy vibe that made us feel relaxed from the moment we arrived. Every little detail adds a thoughtful and charming touch to the experience. Breakfast was excellent, and we especially enjoyed the afternoon tea and snacks – such a lovely treat after a day out. Our kids had a great time during our stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and this hotel was a big part of why it was such a memorable trip. We also appreciate the Easter treats -so thoughtful! Highly recommended for families and anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere.

All people who work there are incredible! Felt very welcome since the moment I stepped my foot at the reception all the way till we checked out (which I was sad to do, as we loved our stay!). The room was very spacious, bathroom too, especially appreciated heated floors in the bathroom in winter, huge plus! The views from the room are incredible. We stayed there over Christmas time and it was magical. Breakfast was top notch: fresh, plenty of choices and service was excellent! Especially I would like to thank Kateryna who worked at breakfast, she was so attentive and kind. My husband and I did not have anything bad to say about our stay. It was truly exceptional.
Margaryta K — Google review
We had an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and at home. Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The Christmas tree they thoughtfully placed in our room was a lovely touch – it made our stay feel extra special. The bathroom was spotless and well-appointed, with plenty of towels and amenities. The hotel's location is fantastic, within easy walking distance to many popular attractions, restaurants, and shops. But what really made our stay stand out was the exceptional staff. Everyone we met was friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care about our comfort and happiness. And finally, the breakfast was great – a wide selection of delicious options to start our day off right. We highly recommend Hotel Zugspitze to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and comfortable place to stay.

Located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the Staudacherhof is a classic Bavarian country house offering traditional rooms with Wi-Fi, a restaurant, and a spa. Run by the Staudacher family for over 110 years, this luxury spa hotel prioritizes high-quality suites, top-notch service, and immersion in nature and wellbeing. The hotel features an indoor/outdoor pool area, saunas, yoga retreats, 'Bayurvedic' cooking, and special wellness packages.
This hotel was so lovely, I am already wishing we could go back! We spent 2 beautiful days here when we were only supposed to stay for one. We were able to snag our room for an extra night. The accommodations were comfortable, spacious, and clean. The staff were wonderful and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The pools/spa were refreshing and welcoming. We would absolutely stay here again, and we highly recommend it.

Charming and idyllic hotel! We only had 2 nights at the hotel and I wish we could have stayed longer! The hotel staff were helpful, friendly, professional, and all around wonderful. Our room was clean and well appointed. The breakfast buffet included a good variety of items. The hotel is walkable from both train stations, as well as plenty of shopping and dining. The only negative thing I could say is that we didn’t stay long enough to take advantage of everything they had to offer. I can’t wait to go back and even bring our kids next time.
Katie P — Google review
We had a fantastic stay at Staudacherhof in Garmisch, even with average weather. Traveling with two small kids and two grandparents could have been a challenge, but the hotel made it easy. The pool and sauna facilities were exceptional and a real highlight for all ages. The on-site playground was perfect — the kids made great friends there and had a wonderful time. The food was excellent, and the complimentary afternoon cakes were a lovely touch. Highly recommended for families!

Our time here was so wonderful we extended our stay an extra day. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast every morning was delicious and plentiful. We were able to rent bikes from the hotel and ride around town. The spa is amazing; heated pools, jacuzzi, and many different saunas. I highly recommend this place to stay.
Jeff P — Google review
One of the most lovely hotels I’ve stayed at. The room/terrace was stunning. Perfect central location for hiking and then relaxing after. The spa was so nice, especially the outdoor area (hot tub and heated pool). Many saunas / steam rooms. The daily breakfast was exceptional. Very accommodating. Thank you for a great stay

We reserved two rooms at Staudacherhof in March 2025. After two nights of sleeping in Room 217, my father was covered in dozens of bed bug bites and we found a dead bed bug under the bed frame. We reported this situation immediately to the front desk. The hotel representative explained to us that there had been a known issue in that exact room for months prior, which they believed had been resolved. Immediately my parents were switched to a different room and the hotel offered to launder all of their belongings at a high heat, and they were ultimately offered a 50% discount on their 4 nights lodging. The remainder of our trip was tarnished by this experience, my father experienced significant pain and discomfort from the many bites, my parents had to go over 24 hours without access to their personal belongings while they were being disinfected. We have also had to go to great lengths (expense and inconvenience) to ensure we do not bring these pests back to our homes. We shared this experience with the owner, Peter Staudacher, and asked for a full refund of the charges for my parents room only. We are of the opinion that despite the 50% discount, being charged over €500 for this stay is inappropriate due to the pain and suffering this has caused. Peter Staudacher has refused the refund, he believes our “claim is not appropriate” We cannot recommend this hotel and will not be back.

A truly superior experience. A lovely small hotel with beautiful amenities and the high standards of the finest accommodations. Warm regional ambience. Super thoughtful, kind staff. Great location for both the slopes and quaint downtown. Great pools and sauna/spa. Wonderful for both families and romance. We loved it.
Tom A — Google review
Traditional, cozy, and charming with modern technology and friendly staff. This hotel is a great location if you’re traveling by a car because there was plenty of free parking. The hotel is located in a residential area so it didn’t seem ideal for someone hoping for walking distance to attractions. This boutique hotel has a wellness spa with a hot tub, heated pool outside, and indoor swimming pool. I stayed in one of the smallest rooms and it had furniture in a smart layout to maximize the space. Even the smallest rooms had private balconies to enjoy the fresh air and mountain views. It’s a great option for someone looking for a cozy picturesque hotel with traditional charm.

We had the most incredible time at the Biohotel Garmischer. Staff were extremely helpful and always going above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Organic breakfast was delicious, coffee made by the staff with oat milk option was lovely. Breakfast had lots of vegan options too which was lovely. Rooms were beautiful and spacious, our room had a balcony too. Sauna and spa area was such a treat, and has a beautiful relaxation area too. We will definitely be coming back here!

Everything great, except thin, hard mattress and no way to get the room really dark. No minibar or water cooker. You wake up with first daylight! Staff exceptionally helpful and nice! Food very good! Would go again to eat, but not stay overnight.

We stayed at the hotel several years ago, we are now back in the area and wanted to eat at the restaurant at the hotel again. It did not disappoint. All the waiters are charming . The food delicious and it’s just a wonderful , happy atmosphere

We loved the food and beer! Breakfast was also very good, delicious coffee and great service and food selection. Our dinner was one of the best we had in Europe. The lentil and pork belly, salad and soup were phenomenal. The fresh beer was the best I've ever had. Enjoyed the sauna too! Nice big countertop in bathroom and beautiful balcony view. Garmisch is absolutely adorable.

We stayed for 4 nights in this beautiful room with a beautiful view and nice bathtub in the middle of the room. We would loved our stay, breakfast was delicious, they were always super friendly and attentive, the times I asked for something they rapidly responded towards my needs! It’s great location, close to the supermarket, restaurants and the bus stop for those without a car. The sauna it is nice, small, but cozy. We would loved to come back! 🩷

We had an excellent stay at this hotel with the two of us. The front desk staff is super friendly and they gave nice tips for exploring the area. The rooms are spacious and have comfy beds, we also enjoyed having a bath tub in our room. The best thing about this hotel is: they have a great spa! Equipped with a sauna, steam room, foot baths and comfortable relaxing beds. After a full day of mountain sports, there is nothing better than going to the spa and afterwards directly to bed. After hiking you can find yourself as well a shoe cleanser in the hallway. Furthermore, the restaurant offers a superb (complementary) breakfast, and also delicious dinner. If we come back, we will definitely stay here again!!
Lindi — Google review
Had a very nice stay at this lovely property. Martin at the front desk was AWESOME and everyone who worked there was super nice and accommodating. Martin gave us excellent suggestions for hiking spots and we really liked Ernest the house chocolate lab who hangs out during the day. Location was great just a block from the main pedestrian area and a short walk from the train station. Breakfast was good and plentiful with nice choices for both Europeans and Americans. The room was very large as was the bathroom. The view from our balcony was amazing. It was rainy so having our windows open didn't cause any problems but I can see where it might be noisy if the Biergarten was rocking. My only complaint was about the pillows which were a huge feather pillow that basically went totally flat once you put your head on it. I asked for a second pillow to 'stack' and that helped. Total nit picking and I'd gladly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

We stopped in for an evening meal and it was great. Fresh and delicious takes on regional classics. The white beer creme brulee was quite special! Wonderful service too.

Hotel Rheinischer Hof in Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a classic establishment offering traditional rooms with Wi-Fi, a country-style restaurant, and a luxurious spa experience. The family-run hotel provides breathtaking Alpine views and complimentary Wi-Fi for guests to enjoy. The Fontana spa features amenities such as a sauna, massage room, indoor pool, and fitness center for ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation.
I have stayed in countless hotels and this one just became my #1 hotel! The views are fantastic, staff is so helpful. The tall gentlemen with dark hair in reception helped me curate my day to my needs. I am so thankful! The wellness SPA was well kept, clean and had a complimentary drink bar. There is a warm indoor swimming pool, cold plunge, different saunas, rest areas, showers, and a massage room. There is a fitness room as well. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choices. There is an area in the dining where you can get an all day (great quality) coffee and juice, as well as dishes. The hotel provided us with free bus tickets. The bus stop to attracting and the town centre is right outside the hotel. I will be returning and suggesting this hotel to my friends! Thank you!
Elina — Google review
Great location, amazing staff and management. The front desk team / management were terrific I guiding us for our daily excursion. The breakfast was great. The room was spacious and could certainly benefit from a few updates. Great location next to the bus stop and conveniently located near grocery store, restaurants, etc. We recommend this place. Thx

I love this place. The service was awesome! Reception worked when we arrived at 23:00. Rooms has great soundproof. The breakfast was amazing, we even had an ability to get freshly squeezed orange juice, which is a very rare case in this country. The variety of dishes was impressive. And the parking on the territory was a great plus. There are lots of services available around. Also this hotel located not far from the town center. In general I would recommend this place for a stay even for a week or longer. Thank you guys!

We loved it! We even extended our stay! Cant wait to go back! The view was amazing. Breakfast offerings were great! Loved the drink machines and having an afternoon coffee with other guests. Some guests played board games over coffee.

Friendly and nice hotel where we enjoyed our stays. The rooms on the annex across the street are classic design. We stayed in the top room with a beautiful view over the mountain side. The second time we stayed on the top floor of the main building where the rooms are modern design. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast buffet was very delicious with a lot of local products, fresh orange juice and many choices. The hotel is about 2km from the city center, but just outside is the busstop that drives right into the city (and back. Very convenient and easy means of transportation in the city.

One of the best hotel experiences I've had! I usually don't review hotels as I've come to expect the same experience over time but this hotel was exceptional. The receptionist is the nicest and most helpful person, answering all questions and giving you any helpful details. They have a comprehensive set of facilities to help you relax. They have like 4 different saunas: bio sauna, Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, and brechelbad sauna, as well as a steam room and cold plunge. They also have a pool and fitness room. Our room itself was extremely spacious and had amazing views of the mountains.
Ryan Z — Google review
The room was very big and clean. Breakfast was very good The hotel staff was very helpful 👌 The city center was few minutes. by bus The location of the hotel is in a peaceful neighborhood which we love.
Assaf P — Google review
An unassuming typical Bavarian hotel , but WOW : the owners go all out to make the guests comfortable. An unlimited supply of non alcoholic drinks at the bar throughout the day - imagine having an unlimited range of Schorles or hot chocolate/coffee while sitting at the patio admiring Zugspitze in the distance. Breakfast came from the heart honestly - everything was freshly made , and I really liked the freshly squeezed orange juice which was juiced right in front of us ! The swimming pool and the range of nicely scented saunas in the basement just simply blows the competition away ! I would really love to come again 😁

Nestled in the hills above Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Das Graseck is a modern-style hotel offering stunning mountain views and a peaceful retreat accessible only via its own cable car. The hotel boasts contemporary alpine-style rooms with amenities like satellite TV, free WiFi, and private bathrooms with complimentary toiletries. Guests can enjoy the wellness center for adults, two restaurants, and various facilities including an outdoor pool, beer garden, gym, shared lounge, and golf course.
This place is a hidden gem. The views, the service, location, the spa, the staff and the food. Truly amazing. Even the cable car to the hotel is just 1st class. I will be back. Breakfast was amazing and the infinity pool was so cool.
AzureJedi — Google review
There was nothing really wrong, but for the price you pay, not enough. Parking space was limited, probably due to day guests. It´s nice to arrive with the cable car, the views are stunning. Food was good, nothing to complain, but not excellent. Staff nice, but the little extra effort and care are constantly missing. Spa is nice, but not enough loungers, we had guests sitting on bean bags in the corridor. I don´t know whether and how many day spa guests had been there, but that´s not what you are looking for. Outside pool is nice on the pics but in reality not practicable. No hangars for the robes, far from the main spa area. Personally we find better options for that price in that area.
Mike S — Google review
The hotel is nothing too special, but nothing bad either. But the price tag that comes along with it, is way too high. The breakfast is nice, the dinners are okay. The restaurant staff is sometimes a bit too talkative for my taste, but others might like it. The saunas are too small and not open early enough. The room was okay but nothing special either, the cable car was in our case rather a reason not to go as we both are not the biggest fans of cable cars + it limits strolling through the city as you need to get down from the hill and then still need the car to get into the city. The treatments are good though. We had an issue but the hotel was flexible enough to solve it after we raised it. Overall too pricey for too little effort and quality and experience.
Kay S — Google review
My sister and I did a day pass for the spa. Overall it was lovely minus the woman at our initial check in. She immediately seemed annoyed we didn’t speak German (sorry). She gave us no tour. Advised us on the wrong direction to go. When we asked about slippers or sandals (we didn’t bring our own) she said they didn’t have any. Within 30 seconds another staff member who was male offered us slippers for no additional cost. Everyone was literally so helpful except the main desk woman. By the time we left she was gone and the new main desk lady was so nice. The views from the pool were worth every penny. Wish the water was hotter but that’s ok. Would love to come back the next time we visit. Would advise taking the gondola ride up for 6 euro as the road up is a bit steep. Beautiful place.
Lauren O — Google review
A glorious experience! Bottom line, a luxurious and relaxing experience for individuals, couples, and friends. The staff is kind and accommodating, helpful ahead of arrival all the way through your stay. The parking and cable car experience is simple. We were welcomed with Prosecco on the gorgeous patio with a stunning Alps view. Our room was well appointed, and we booked specifically to take an Alps view- breathtaking, even on a foggy and rainy day. The spa facilities, including the panorama pool and sauna on the second floor as well as the adults only spa downstairs, are exquisite. Multiple types of saunas, a great pool, and multiple lounge areas… complete with a variety of beverages and a tranquil vibe, exactly what we were looking for here. I had a 70 minute full body massage that was spectacular, but even without specific treatments, this area is not to be missed. The fitness facility is small but has a lovely outdoor deck and everything you need. The road to and from is winding and steep and a no joke workout should you choose to walk it. You can easily get into town on foot or via cable car and take a beautiful walk, even seeing Zugspitze. Last but not least, the dining experience. Breakfast is a glorious buffet, extensive coffee options, and a made to order menu. No joke, best omelette I have ever had. While lunch is not included, should you stay at the resort and get hungry, they have a great menu at reasonable prices. The four course dinner was beautiful, and they accommodate allergies and preferences. Amazing soups, a crawfish and melon appetizer, bouillabaisse, lamb, fish, decadent desserts… it was great! Already dreaming of retuning, any season.
Angie R — Google review
The views all around are dreamy. We especially loved opening the window to hear birds and the chime of cowbells. The mission to cater to the health of all guests is noble—small details aren’t unnoticed. The servers made notes on all dietary restrictions and remembered where we sat, and I never had to make a comment about what I can/can’t eat. Every course was appropriately modified! If we make a return trip to Bavaria, Das Graseck will be the reason!
Sheri M — Google review
I spent a day-spa at Das Graseck and the place was wonderful and the spa was amazing. I decided to give two stars because the food is ridiculously expensive for the portions served. The amount of food was tiiiiiny and the quality was normal, not gourmet. Generally, in gourmet restaurants you can expect such a case, but honestly this is a point of improvement
Camila D — Google review
We booked a two-night stay as we passed through Garmisch. I am convinced most of these reviews are fake based on our experience. Location It sounds like an interesting concept—a hotel so remote that you reach it by cable car. In reality, the road to the parking lot is overrun with hundreds of tourists coming down from their gorge hike. The parking lot is tiny, inadequate for guests, and frankly a disappointment. Cable Car An uphill trek with luggage to the Grasekbahn, with no easy way to reach the station. This means unless the hotel arranges to send down a car for you, if you are elderly or at all infirm, it is unreachable. There are only two cable cars and they run extremely slowly. We waited behind 6-8 people and it took forever to go up since they are so small. The same issue occurs when you want to descend to go anywhere. A romantic concept ended up being an inconvenience. Staff Check in was slow. No one helped with our bags. Room We booked a suite with a sauna and terrace. What they don’t tell you is you share that space with the room next door, so you can see them, and they can see you. You are literally on vacation with the people in the room next to you. This is not how this very expensive room is advertised. The photos and web description show a room with a swing on a private terrace—you should know these photos only show half the reality. The room is extremely small, but what struck us the most is it was absolutely filthy. The bathroom was unclean, the sofa was unclean (there was hair and stains everywhere), and the room was uninviting. We were worried about how dirty the bed might be. We walked out and found another hotel an hour away. Based on our experience, the room and grounds looked nothing like the photos in advertisements. There is no real Mountain View; you look at cows eating on the farm next door. This hotel is extremely dirty, worn, and overpriced. There are luxury resorts in the area that resemble their photos. This is not one of them.

Today, it boasts a lovely pool, wellness area, and spacious guest rooms with pinewood furniture and balconies or patios.
During the weeks of our stay and planning our stay, the snow wasn't great and we were going to go skiing. So we booked this hotel last minute within a day or two of arrival. Staff is super friendly. Facilities are great. They have an awesome spa and sauna and you can get massages there. So we took a health day and enjoyed all of it. The spa area is very expensive including two saunas, a steam room and a ice rub down station along with multiple different types of rain and heated showers and infrareds on as well. Great value, awesome staff

The Location is perfect for Garmish, the Hotel style is supposed to be antique, and it is. Their Bathrooms are modern tho. I'd be careful booking in the summer, since it gets a little hot with no A/C, also some noise from the main street during the night if the windows are open

I wish I could give this hotel zero stars. As a frequent traveler, this was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I booked a Junior Suite for 3 nights based on more than 10 photos shown on Booking.com. However, upon arrival I was given a completely different (and much worse) room. When I pointed this out, showing the listing photos, the manager dismissively claimed those pictures belonged to a “different category.” After I insisted, he began raising his voice at me — unprofessional and extremely rude behavior for someone in hospitality. Only after further pushing did they switch me to the correct room type, but instead of offering an apology or consideration, they deliberately placed us in a far corner room. I overheard the manager instruct staff to give me a “smaller room.” This was not only dishonest but also inconsiderate, as I was traveling with my mother (who has back issues) and my one-year-old daughter. The location of the room meant unnecessary walking up and down stairs just to reach reception. When I asked to cancel the stay, I was told I could leave but would not receive any refund. Even when I requested to stay just one night (despite my negative experience) and cancel the remaining two nights — which included my birthday — they flatly refused. The lack of empathy, the disrespectful treatment, and the deceptive room advertising made this stay absolutely miserable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families or those seeking a welcoming environment. Guests deserve honesty, professionalism, and respect — none of which I received here.

The room was beautiful. The manager we checked in was kind and offered us local destinations. My partner and I tried to enter the hotel after hours, we banged on the front door, ranged the night bell several times for an hour. Just to be told by the night staff they “forgot to turn on” on night bell in the reception area, and actively heard and saw us bang on the door. Keep in mind this staff member was in view of the front door and reception and did nothing but ignored us. I’d stay here again, but night staff needs serious, proper training. Again, lovely hotel, night staff is terrible.

We booked two suites in this hotel and stayed for 3 nights. The hotel rooms and wellness area were good but the rest of the hotel has seen better days. The service staff who spoke only English were lovely The older German man was simply rude and unfriendly. He really spoiled our stay. For that reason I most certainly can not recommend staying here ... Customer service cab really make our break things.

Hotel was just ok, stayed for three nights and for what it is, is a little expensive. Breakfast was ok, rooms were suitable but a bit outdated and the rest of the hotel was a bit tired and they didn't top up our amenities at all and when we left they made us pay for a nights car park when we didn't use the car park one of the nights and didn't let us know that we apparently had to tell them before we didn't use it, which is stupid. They also didn't advise us until the end of the stay that we had to pay a city tax. Would definitely look for something else in a slightly better location next time I come to the town. Not worth the money paid.

Sophisticated and charming old world hotel. I stayed by myself several years ago and then brought my family this year for the week after Christmas. This is a hotel guests have been coming to for generations, with travelers of all ages, and especially during the holidays, grandparents, their children and their grandkids. We signed on for half board (dinner) and enjoyed delicious regional fare and traditional service. Kids take books and playing cards to while away the four courses that comprise dinner. It was a fun immersion into a continental and more meditative culture than the typical American dining experience. The rooms have excellent beds and bathrooms with spa robes and slippers and those cool windows that open from every angle. Front desk and waitstaff are courteous and generous with excellent English. Breakfast is bountiful, perfect muesli, good coffee, good breads. It’s convenient to the ski slopes and walking trails and in between both town centers which are just a few blocks away. You don’t necessarily need a car plus public transit is excellent. This hotel sells out during the holidays. If you have flexibility, you might visit at shoulder or non peak times to maximize your value.

Wow. Wow. WOW. Our jaw hit the floor when we saw this hotel. So cute! So close to the town center, within easy walking distance to everything. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were spotless. Highly recommended! Some other reviews mention that the rooms are unbearably hot. Luckily for us, there was rain and cooler weather during our stay and the rooms didn’t get too hot, but it was noticeably warmer than I’d like. The fan in the room helped though! We had no trouble with the internet, once we found the switch in the kitchen to turn it on. Speeds are somewhat slow, so keep that in mind if you need to take work calls. Beautiful spot and a must see if you’re passing through beautiful Garmisch 😇

Rooms are nice although Internet didn’t work on day one. Had to change rooms. The biggest issue is that during warmer weather the room with its large panoramic windows is a like a green house. Unbearably hot, no windows that open and no AC. There is a ski hatch that opens towards the road and provided some relieve but then it becomes unbearably noisy at night. Fan was offered on check out (we apparently didn’t ask for something we didn’t know about).

We stayed at this hotel for three nights. While the location and room views are nice, the rest was just average. The hotel has several design flaws: the air system in the room was ineffective, and the small side window couldn’t be opened without letting in excessive noise—plus, it did little to improve ventilation. Service was minimal, and the overpriced breakfast didn’t meet expectations. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless the view and location are your top priorities.

Beautifully hotel. Featuring interesting art and very well designed furnishings. Overall vibe is very nice, also due to the friendly staff. Location is superb and from the alte villa you have spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Downsides are the busy street out front which is a lot of noise at night if you have the windows open, which in summer is a must because there is no AC so it gets very hot indeed. Also the kitchen could have used some more pans and such so you can actually cook a full meal.

This is my third experience in this hotel... When you repeat the experience it means that the hotel is good, and in my experience it seems that this is the last, Everything is good in the check-in and stay procedures, the breakfast is very good, the service staff in the restaurant and the rooms are also good, But when checking out I asked the man in charge at the reception if I am allowed to extend the check-out instead of 11 am to be at 13:00 pm, The receptionist informed me that a fee of 50 euros will be charged for the extension, I asked him again if I am allowed to extend for one hour until 12:00 pm, he repeated the same answer by paying 50 euros as an extension fee, This policy and procedures left an uncomfortable effect and did not take into account any extension request, and the way the employee responded seemed to suggest leaving the hotel immediately "The time for the extension request was 10:45 am, knowing that most hotels allow an extension within an hour or two without additional fees.

Just wanted to share some thoughts about our recent stay as well as I don’t agree with your answer from our first review comment…. We had some issues with the internet at first. It kept cutting on and off even it showed up for few seconds…the room change suggested from the receptionist offered fixed everything since the router was properly connected in the new room! We didn’t know you could provide fans, which would have been great to know.!The place is really unique and seems perfect for winter, but I'd avoid it in the summer because it got pretty hot inside. The only ventilation we had was a hatch above the entrance and a side door at the other end, which didn’t help much. You can only use the kitchen if you eat cold food nothing to heat up We felt a bit misunderstood from receptionist due to the explanation that the internet was not working properly and had the feeling it’s a hassle to get an IT support….no clue why? On the plus side, the location is fantastic—super central. The view from the room is stunning just don’t open the door on the side…it’s very noisy and a lot of traffic passing by

Really wonderful hotel that I can absolutely recommend if you are in the area. Such large rooms or mini apartments basically which are extremely spacious. Was really nice to have a small kitchen with a fridge and table to sit around for food/social. I really miss sitting in the wonderful & huge window seat and watching the great view of the mountains and nature. The decor is impeccable (especially if you like the scandi-minimalist style) - approved by Swedes/guests from Stockholm :) Also, super clean property (really could not fault it - spotless cleaning so kudos to the cleaning staff!). It feels like it's brand new and well taken care of. Really safe area and close to the main centre/train station/supermarkets etc. so it's easy to get around on foot. Would be fun to return again in the winter! :) Hope to come back again sometime soon!

Clean and fresh bunker-like designed toilet facility (for men). Toilet located downstairs from the hotel reception, stairs behind the reception table. Elevator also located on the premises. Only 2 pisulars (urinals) and one classic toilet for the real deal. Premises were clean and modern, a bit funny bunker-like design (with plane cement walls). Personally I would not design my toilet in such way but for this public toilet design, it was quite OK. Toilet could have been bigger since the hotel premises also included restaurant and outside terrace. So you can fit quite many visitors inside. All in all, very pleasing experience even though I felt little pressure to hurry my business in the sitting toilet side. Coat hanger included inside the toilet cabin. I could go there again and can recommend it for a relief purposes. 3/5.

The elegant rooms come with balconies or terraces, providing a perfect spot to soak in the picturesque surroundings. Guests can enjoy modern amenities including free WiFi throughout the property.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean – nothing too fancy, but perfectly fine for a relaxing stay. What truly stood out, though, was the half-board option: absolutely excellent! Every meal was delicious, with a great variety, fresh ingredients, and thoughtful presentation. The service staff in the restaurant were also incredibly friendly and attentive, making each dinner feel special. Would definitely recommend for anyone who values great food as part of their holiday experience!

We enjoyed our stay at the Riessersee hotel very much. We stayed at the seehaus, waking up to the magnificent view of the lake and the mountains. The dinner at the restaurant was delicious. The breakfast spread in the morning was elaborate as well. More importantly, absolutely brilliant staff members made the stay memorable. Thank you. We would love to stay here again in the future.

We had a great experience. The hotel is clean and the location is perfect if you want to relax in the nature. There is a lake immediately on the side of the hotel. The view to the mountains is amazing. Breakfast is very good.

The first twin room we got had very strong moldy and doggy smell but the staff was very helpful and changed our room. However we couldn’t get a higher floor and instead got double room on the ground floor and bathtub was clogged so it took very long time after shower for the water to drain. It took some time to get this sorted out because we were initially given an upgrade to a bigger room but then were told there was some mistakes and had to go back to reception and get another room. Luckily we were still at the elevator and didn’t need to move our stuff twice. Room’s sound proof could have been better. Dogs are super welcome at this hotel and they provide blanket, water and food bowls and poop bags. Poop bag stations are everywhere around the hotel and also on the trails. Everyone is super friendly and helpful at the hotel. Breakfast is exceptional! A lot of options and fresh fruits. Dogs are not allowed in the breakfast buffet area but you can take your food and go to the other area to sit with your dog or simply leave the dog in the room. They allow that too, which is very thoughtful unlike some other hotels that do not allow dogs staying alone in the room. Parking can be a problem if you don’t want to pay for underground parking especially when you come back late as free outdoor parking is limited during peak season. Riessersee lake is literally next to the hotel and with great view and great hiking trails for morning walk. It also has interesting history of the Winter Olympics. Location is superb if you have a car. Very quiet and away from city up in the mountain and in the nature, but only 5 min drive to go to Garmisch city center. We will definitely come back again.

Absolutely amazing. We stayed here almost a year ago in May 2024 and we still think about this hotel, so I had to come back and write a review. We brought our golden retriever and were lucky enough to get a room in the Seehaus, which has unreal views of the lake and mountains. The hotel was super accommodating for our dog and a short drive to nearby attractions. If you are looking for a pet-friendly hotel near Garmisch with mountain and lake views, look no further! The staff were incredible and gave us freshly baked pretzels at checkout—a small touch that really set them above the rest. This was our first hotel stay in Germany and after almost a year of traveling, the Riessersee is still #1 and we would definitely come back!

Review for room: Suite Seehaus Panoramic view to the sunny side with balcony. Positive: - the nice view of the lake and the mountain - great breakfast with a lot of options - pet friendly (dog are not allowed in the main restaurant but there are good option for eating with your dog in other spaces or outside on terrace) - the room cand accommodate 2 adults and a baby - Great deal with half board options. A lot of good food. negative: - unfortunately the room does not look like the picture promoted on website. We recieved a smaller suite composed by 2 different room (bedroom and living room). The living room has only a small rectangular widows and no lighting system beside a small lamp. - also we found a big spider on the living room wall. - We ask at reception for the room we saw in the picture, because for that picture we book the room, but they say that the image is for presentation and because is a old building the room are different. No change of room was possible. - also we ask for mor lighting on the living room because we needed for the baby but nothing happen during our stay. We used our phone LED for more light at night.

This hotel is truly exceptional. The breakfast is incredibly delicious and wide ranging catering to all tastes. The staff were extremely professional. The spa is a delight with a beautiful open air rooftop pool two saunas and a steam room. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Stuart ( — Google review
I wish I could add an additional star to Hotel Werdenfelserei, as it truly deserves it. The room (it was a suite) was impeccable in every respect: the bed and the mattress, the linings, the shower, the decor, the balcony overlooking a park across the stream, room cleanliness, coffee - everything was next to perfect. The breakfast is an experience by itself. It's much easier to spell what wasn't there - nothing. The variety of food, the quality, the service, 2 juice machines, 3 coffee machines, selection of breads and so on. The food is with a local swing, of course. Yet somehow it fits various tastes and breakfast habits. I admit: one day we intentionally got up a bit earlier to enjoy the breakfast to its fullest. Excellent experience! And having a very good Wurzelwerk restaurant on site adds to the experience (a separate well-deserved review). After talking with Monica, the hotel's owner, we better understood the spirit and the emphasis on a team work, which always start from the leader! The location is very good, the parking is convenient, the roof pool is quite, the SPA is spacious and will equipped. The only suggestion I have is about the SPA. We wanted to have a massage one day and it was impossible to find somebody who manages the schedule. We moved between the hotel reception (not much help) and the spa reception (nobody was there) and eventually gave up. Boutiquehotel Werdenfelserei pays back an excellent value for your money. Highly recommend!
Arie R — Google review
Werdenfelserei exceeded our every expectation. It really does manage to strike the right balance in offering a polished, spa-centred stay for couples and families alike. We stayed in a spa suite for four days and wished we had planned for a full week. From the moment we found our parking space reserved for us on arrival, to being greeted with treats and bubbly, to the bottle of wine and send off bag, we felt totally looked after. Breakfast is a wide spread of cheeses, meats, cured and smoked fish, veggies and fruits, yogurt and jams, pastries and breads galore. The “light” lunch is an array of salads, soups and a warm entree. Dinner is bright and sensual with all sorts of local flavour and colour. The spa experience is well-designed and does the trick - gorgeous outdoor pool for soaking and taking in the alpine views, a round of sauna and steam rooms, and a warm, quiet lounge area which we referred to as the Nap Room. Finally, the location is perfect for exploring both the town and the absolutely top notch hiking nearby. This was the autumnal holiday we were dreaming of. Highly recommend the spa suite for a splurge. Can’t wait to come back - for skiing next time!

Fabulous hotel in Southern Germany, the Alpine area in Garmisch, DE. Very "Alpine-like" architecture, made of wood, and beautiful. It was nice to be on Ludwigstrasse, until I tried to sleep. Very loud on the street, and the church next door chimes the bells all night long. Didn't get much rest, and I wouldn't stay here again. A fan would've helped a lot. Could've cooled the room down, and provided some white noise to block everything else.

At this stage, I have been abroad in Europe on a motorcycle for 10 days. I have stayed in several hotels, hostels, and hovels across 5 countries, and let me tell you, this has been the greatest hotel experience yet. The evening clerk was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely professional, while still being able to joke that I looked like a wet cat upon my arrival. The single room, while a touch small, was perfect for a solo traveler, and the washroom facilities were top notch. The restaurants around the hotel are fantastic, and though I was initially skeptical about the 18 euro breakfast, the variety and selection alone, not even accounting for the effort and service, was far beyond anything I have experienced anywhere else. The items were fresh, delicious, and plenty. Honestly, as one other review mentioned, my only gripe was the church directly adjacent chiming it's bell through the night, but I carry earplugs so that was minor for me. When I return to Partenkirchen, and I WILL return to partenkirchen, I can't imagine I'd be staying anywhere else
Sean N — Google review
The room was generally fine, although there were some minor issues. Unfortunately, the behaviour of the reception staff was completely unprofessional. On the first day, the man at reception told us about the breakfast and the hours it was served, without mentioning that breakfast was not included in our booking. Since, as we later found out, it was not included, he should have also informed us of the price at that time instead of simply mentioning the breakfast. Naturally, we assumed it was part of the room rate and went to breakfast. The next day, at check-out, we were charged for it. When we explained the situation to the lady in charge that day at reception, she reacted rudely and simply said, “You have not booked breakfast.” In addition, in the evening we did not have any bottled water in the room to drink. In the room, there was a menu listing items available for purchase from the hotel, including bottled water priced at around euros. My partner went to reception to get some. As the man at reception was busy with other guests, he first spoke to a young woman there. The same man then stepped in, in a rude and somewhat aggressive manner, telling him not to speak to her because she was “only an assistant” and that he should speak to him directly. He then said they did not have any bottled water and that we had to buy it from the hotel restaurant. We assumed the price would be the same as in the room menu, but for two bottles of water we had to pay around 13 euros. The service was poor, and the staff extremely rude.
Angie K — Google review
I did not stay at the hotel because both my friend and I were mistreated by the receptionist — a man with a mustache. While we were discussing the check-in time, I politely asked if it would be possible to check in at 13:30 instead of 15:00. In response, the receptionist reacted rudely. He threw our passports onto the counter and said, “If you don’t want to stay, you can go.” I told him there was no need to be aggressive, and we decided to leave immediately. We went to another hotel, where we were received with courtesy and professionalism. Because of the receptionist’s behavior, your hotel lost the opportunity to rent two rooms. I hope this matter will be addressed appropriately to prevent similar situations in the future.

I recently stayed at the Atlas Grand Hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen for two nights, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing—especially due to the dismissive and unprofessional behavior of the front desk staff. Despite clearly placing the “Please clean the room” sign on my door, housekeeping completely overlooked it. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, I was told the cleaning staff had reported that no cleaning was requested—an explanation that was clearly inaccurate. I was told someone would be sent to clean the room, but no one ever showed up. Later, around 4 p.m., I went to the front desk again to ask if the room could be cleaned while we waited in the lounge. Rather than being helpful or courteous, the same staff member responded rudely, saying the cleaning team had a “long list” and that he had no idea when the room would be cleaned. His tone and attitude were completely unprofessional. I was genuinely shocked by the lack of hospitality, especially from a hotel that has been around for hundreds of years. Had the situation simply been explained with basic courtesy, I would have been far more understanding. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Lovely and large room, amazing views of mountains, friendly & helpful staff. We had a lovely family holiday and would definitely return. Kids loved the playground and pool. Amazing location, friendly staff and good food for big and small. The kids room and playground for the little ones are a nice added touch. There are tunnels throughout the hotel for convenience, when the weather is bad, which unfortunately it wasn't great. The view on our last day was amazing though. The only shame was that you couldn't drive up to your front door to unload your luggage. We will be back!

Our suite was very spacious and offered a stunning view of the Alps, which we especially enjoyed from the balcony in the afternoons. The room was clean and comfortable, and while the furniture might be a bit old, it complemented the hotel’s vintage vibes. Breakfast had a good variety of options, though more vegan choices would have been appreciated. One drawback was the room service, when we requested paper towels, we were told no one was available to bring them up to our room, so we had to bring them ourselves from the reception which was in a different building. The location is excellent if you have a car, but even without one, there’s a bus stop nearby with hourly buses to the city center.

The hotel has a wonderful architecture, located on top of a small hill, it's picture perfect. The rooms are quite large, a few things like electric kettle or coffee machine is not available. The breakfast was wonderful. It's an extensive palette of various cheese, confectionaries, breads, fruits, Joghurt, teas. We stayed there only for one night, wish we could have stayed more. It's great for children with lots of play area and space to walk around.

This was one of the best stays I’ve had in Germany. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and offered an incredible view of the Alpine mountains—something truly special to wake up to. Fresh fruit and light snacks were provided in the room, and the complimentary breakfast was enjoyable and well-prepared. The hotel also features a sauna, which is a great amenity for those who enjoy it, though I chose not to use it as the shared setup might not be ideal for everyone’s comfort :/ The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature, making it perfect for a quiet, restorative getaway. It is a bit remote, and public buses to Garmisch run about once an hour, so transportation should be planned in advance. If you’re looking for m deep connection with nature, this is the perfect place to stay.

The hotel boasts an indoor pool, a tennis court, and a country-style restaurant with a beer garden. Whether you're into summer activities like hiking and mountain biking or winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding, this hotel provides easy access to outdoor adventures year-round.
After exiting from the GaPa train station, we had originally wanted to take the bus to our hotel at Mercure Garmisch Partenkirchen. However, the timing from Google Map was not accurate and we actually missed the bus. Hence, we took a 20 mins stroll to Mercure Gapa which was rather nice as it was 15 degrees this afternoon. Check-in by Csilla (Chee-La) was smooth and we were upgraded to a Junior Suite with welcome amenities (wine and fruits), loads of space and a bath tub as well. During check-in, we also paid 3euro per night per person (or 12euros for 2 nights) due to the local tourism tax – the good thing is that it comes with the Gapa Guest Card which allows travel on the local buses (bus 1 to 5) in the Zugspitz Area. The Junior Suite has a separate living area partial view of the mountains and another room where the beds were – complete with a HUGE TV. In terms of facilities, there’s a swimming pool that opens from 7am to 10pm, a sauna (where you have to be completed naked for both men and women together) that starts from 3pm, a gym as well as breakfast from 630am to 10am. With Accor Gold, we also had welcome drinks of Paulaner Dunkel and Weissbier at the bar. There was a choice between wines, beers or soft drinks... Breakfast next morning was amazing as well. Love the cozy vibes of the restaurant and the spread. Service was excellent all round. Look out for the day's programme that would be laid out on the table as well! Though we stayed at the hotel only for 2 nights we enjoyed our time there. A good advantage was the hotel's proximity to the centre and to the Olympic Ski Jumps. It is surrounded by mountains, so the views are great. The breakfast buffet is varied and the food really tasty. The only thing we would add is a wider choice of vegetables. The swimming pool is not big, but still enjoyable. Additionally, the sauna was spacious and well-heated. However, we think that an extra payment for bathrobes in a 4-star hotel should not be charged - usually it is a standard amenity. Overall it was good quality for money and if we were to come to GaPa again, we would choose this hotel again :)

How this Hotel may/can belong to Mercure I do not understand. The hotel has no air conditioning! Beware in summer, the sun shines all day in the room. * Rooms: we had a suite. However, there were some flaws that are not acceptable. For instance, there was no soap in the dispenser, the light did not function in the (separate) bedroom, and there were stains on the carpet. Surely, when booking a suite, you expect this to be in order! On top of this, after the first night, the cleaning staff had not closed the door properly, allowing everyone in. We had only noticed this in the evening when we returned, so the door was not closed all day. The daily cleaning itself is also very superficial. * We had taken the half-board formula, and it was very inconsistent: The first evening we were given a set menu with soup, a choice of three main courses and a dessert. The second evening we could choose from the restaurant's menu (ideal). The third evening came the complete disappointment: a buffet. The buffet was terrible and had the level of a clean-cafeteria. Nothing was fresh, all dishes were industrial and only warmed up in the kitchen (the other nights too). The staff in the restaurant are friendly and know perfectly well that the quality of the food is poor... they only carry out what the management tells them to... and they get all the complaints. * Breakfast: is acceptable. Only I don't understand how it is possible to make such a bad omelette. The fruit juices very industrial and no sparkling water available. We had to pay extra for this! * Swimming pool: is outdated * Parking is chargeable and expensive - no electric charging points available. I want to give 3 stars for the hotel, but because of the restaurant it only deserves 2.

The hotel itself and the rooms are fantastic. We stayed in the junior suite, it is ample, modern and has everything. The building and the location are superb. However, this is one of the worst run hotels I have ever been in. The staff is absolutely rude and unprepared. I am not even talking in saying "good morning" - they treat you like trash. One day there was no parking space in the lot when we came back, and the clerk said it was no his problem. He even refused to refund the money we already paid for parking there. Breakfast is poor and they don't refill what's been taken. Not even clean the empty tables. When I book a four star Mercure hotel, junior suite I expected good hospitality. I am not even complaining that the coffee machine at the room had no capsules. But to be treated that way, I would not recommend to anyone.

This hotel is quite run-down, though it does have a great view and is not a bad choice for a last-minute stay. Unfortunately, the front desk staff was very rude—the lady on reception provided awful service, and it wasn’t a language issue, just plain rudeness. On the bright side, the bar staff, were super friendly, and the kitchen staff served delicious schnitzel and great beer. Breakfast was also very good. With friendlier front desk staff and improved housekeeping, this hotel could easily become a gem. Too expensive for the kind of service and run down hotel.

Nice hotel with a good location Only negative points are: -Why do they have beds that are 1,60m wide whilst they give blankets which barely cover you up. -Staff could be a bit more welcoming. They don't really pass a goods vacation vibe. -They also said rooms have mountain views but in reality it was more like a parking lot view from the first floor. I guess you need a higher located room to enjoy those.
David B — Google review
The rooms are very small, bathrooms are smaller and the price tag is not justified. The view outside the room was very beautiful and location of the hotel was the only plus point. Parking is available on site for 12 euros. Saw a rat very close to the kitchen, I guess they have a ratatouille! But seriously a rat near the kitchen is alarming for me. Didn’t feel like a 4 star hotel to me!

I‘m very happy with my stay. I will definitely come again. The room was clean and smelled good. They clean the room every day without us asking. The food was fresh. We have been travelling, hopping from hotel to hotel. Mercury Hotel served the freshest breakfast of all. The service was amazing. They catered every needs during the stay. Location is great. Definitely staying here again when we’re back. Thank you Mercury Hotel Team.

Absolutely Disgraceful Experience – AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS This was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had – an absolute nightmare from start to finish. The manager and staff were not only rude and unprofessional, but they also tried to scam and extort money from us. We made a booking that clearly stated two people per room, but upon arrival, they insisted it had to be one person per room – a completely made-up policy that wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the booking confirmation. When we questioned this and stood our ground, the manager flat-out refused to give her name, and the staff followed suit, refusing to identify themselves like they had something to hide. This is not just bad service – this is dishonest, shady behavior. To make things worse, the manager had the audacity to make offensive jokes about our appearance – something no decent human being would do, let alone a person in a position of responsibility. She even threatened to call the police simply because we were asking for what we had rightfully paid for. We’ve traveled to many places and stayed in countless hotels, but never – NEVER – have we been treated with such disrespect, arrogance, and hostility. This place is a scam operation, not a hospitality business. Avoid this hotel like the plague. If you value your dignity, your money, and your peace of mind, stay far away from this place. It ruined what was supposed to be a peaceful vacation and left us angry, humiliated, and disgusted.
Deepan C — Google review
Good location and friendly reception staff, but overall disappointing. We had requested twin beds months in advance, yet arrived to find one double bed. The room was small, very hot with no air conditioning, and the sheets had stains which we had to replace ourselves. Housekeeping was inconsistent and the room was only half-cleaned during our stay. Curtains did not block light, making it hard to sleep, and the elevator was unreliable. For the price, the quality felt poor. The reception team remained polite and helpful, but the service was really minimal.
Samy O — Google review
Take the negative reviews seriously — I wish I had. We checked in just before 20:45, only to be told the kitchen was closed, even though the hotel’s own sheet said it closed at 21:00. At check-in, the Asian employee asked for personal information that wasn’t required. When I declined, she was rude in every interaction afterward. The room was outdated and poorly maintained. The toilet first wouldn’t flush, then wouldn’t stop flushing. No fridge. The shower head wouldn’t stay in place, the glass door leaked and flooded the floor, and the soap dispenser was empty until we asked twice for it to be filled. There was no bathroom fan, no air conditioning, and the coffee provided was cheap instant powder with no cream. Parking was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel, but the garage is essentially for compact cars only. The spots were too tight for our midsize crossover rental to fit and allow us to open the doors, and the only usable spot was reserved. Even getting out of the garage after realizing this took serious maneuvering! I lived in Europe for 10 years, so I know tight garages. This one was absurd. The alternative was paying every two hours outside 20:00–08:00, while a perfectly good lot visible from our room was reserved for staff only. We asked to shorten our stay to one night but were told it was impossible. The worst part came after the first night: I woke up with multiple bites on my hand (see photos). They began as intensely itchy welts and quickly turned red, swollen, and painful. By the afternoon, I could barely ignore them. When I reported this to the front desk, I was met with complete indifference — no apology, no concern, not even basic insect cream. The same staff member actually tried to cover for the problems by making up “facts” she could not possibly have known. It was a blatant attempt to deflect responsibility rather than address the situation. That summed up the attitude here — dismissive, dishonest, and completely unprofessional. No one wants to spend their holiday with painful, itchy spider or bed bug bites from a hotel room. That is bad enough, but having staff dismiss it entirely is unacceptable. Bottom line: outdated rooms, unfriendly staff, unusable parking, and insect bites. Avoid this place.

We found this to be a comfortable and well managed hotel in a very convenient location for the train station. Breakfast is very good, with plenty of options, cooked and otherwise. The sauna and spa area is huge, and a little minimalist but very clean. The rooms are fine (ours had a small terrace with a superb view) but could do with some refreshing - it's about time for some new curtains. Overall, it's a much better option than some earlier reviews suggest.

Nice hotel in a very convenient location in Garmisch, perfect if you are traveling by train. The rooms are small but clean, the breakfast has all standard items - I would have loved some vegan options. The service was mixed, the young guy doing the check-in at the reception seemed bored and could have been friendlier but the other staff made up for it.
Trail D — Google review
This hotel is very modern on the outside and in common areas. As soon as you get to your room you are met with a very outdated space that does not match the vide of the hotel common areas. The curtains were dusty, the carpet was missing, and the furnishings are very worn. The bathroom looks like it may have been recently updated with new tiles. The views from the room were also amazing, as was breakfast. Breakfast had a large selection of German, American, and English options. However, the rooms were a big downfall.
Hannah L — Google review
With this price there is no bottle of water, boby lotion or slippers provided. The check out time is at 11am but at 9am the staff opened my door and checked. I was still in bed. They didnt even say sorry. The location is good. The gym is very well equipped. The breakfast was ok. It is typical german breakfast. The check in process was easy and quick.

Absolutely loved my stay! The hotel has a golden location—close to everything, which made exploring super convenient. Check-in was a breeze, and I was in my room in no time. The place was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, which I really appreciated. The highlight was definitely the balcony with a magical morning view—such a serene start to the day! Highly recommend if you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and a touch of nature’s beauty.

We booked a 4 person room which is a queen bed and pull out couch for my 2 y and 5 y old children. When we got there at 4pm the lady at the front desk was very mad Priceline said 2 people which I told her it is the same price if we put 4 people and showed her the price on Priceline. It would make sense if she picked on this topic if they serve breakfast which they do not. She charged me an extra 90 Euros on top of the price we were quoted for my children to use the pull out couch. She also made a comment that she now has to be the one that has to pull out the couch and put sheets on it since it is 4pm in the afternoon. Not a very good first impression of Germany. Do not think I would recommend this hotel if you have a family or little children.

Cold and heartless – avoid this place We had to cancel our honeymoon due to Israel’s airspace closure caused by the war with Iran. We informed the hotel four days in advance, yet they refused any refund or even a credit. No compassion, no flexibility, no humanity. Just “policy.” We lost flights, money, and vacation days — and they couldn’t care less. Never again. Avoid this hotel.

If I could give this hotel 10 stars, I would. Very quiet spot tucked away, but close enough to go downtown. The breakfast is wonderful, and worth extra cost. The customer service was also amazing. My husband and I were able to check in after a long day of travel, and relax. The view from our room AND bathroom was the cherry on top. I'd love to visit here again in the summer because it looks like they have beer garden? overall, great spot and a great price! We will be back!

Nice and clean hotel. Room was comfortable enough but quite bland. Blanket was not thick enough and pillows were uncomfortable. I shut the windows and curtains to make the room warmer, but the cleaner came in and re-opened everything. I would suggest a door handle sign that says whether or not a room requires service. Breakfast was ok -- scrambled eggs do not need to be cooked for so long, but juice and everything else was nice. Front desk service was exceptional. Location was far from bus stop and the restaurants I wanted to try, so I would take that in consideration when you are looking. There were also church bells every night, so bring ear plugs.

Disappointing Experience – Unfriendly and Inflexible Management My wife booked a one-night stay at Biohotel the day before our arrival. Sadly, just two hours later, our baby developed a sudden fever, and we had to rush to the hospital. Within three hours of the booking, my wife contacted the hotel to cancel, fully understanding that 80% of the booking fee would still be charged, as per the cancellation policy. What we didn’t expect was the complete lack of empathy or basic human understanding from the hotel staff and management. Despite providing a hospital report for our infant, the hotel refused to show any flexibility or compassion. We were told someone would call us back after checking with the manager — but no one ever did. No follow-up, no understanding, and certainly no concern for a family in distress. It became very clear to us that this hotel cares only about money, not people. As someone who has traveled to over 40 countries, I have very rarely encountered such cold and unhelpful behavior from hospitality staff. This experience left a deeply negative impression, and I would never consider staying at Biohotel again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. Hospitality should come with humanity — sadly, this place offers neither.

One of the coziest single rooms I’ve ever stayed in, with a warm and comfortable feel. The location is unbelievably good, just a short walk from the main train station yet in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Breakfast was consistently great every morning, with plenty of options like bread rolls, eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, fruit, cold cuts, pastries, pretzels, etc. Had no trouble parking my rental e-bike, and the staff were all super kind and helpful.

Very nice hotel, 12 minutes away from the local train station. It offers vegan breakfast which was absolutely fabulous with vegan yoghurt, chia pudding, spreads, and baked goods. It has a very cute atmosphere and nice and polite staff. It feels very local and way better than big name hotels. Also, some rooms have views to the mountains. I really recommend, especially for vegans.

Well situated amidst a small garden in a quiet street near the center of Garmisch, this hotel offers personal service in beautifully renovated rooms. Very helpful staff every day during our 4-day stay. It may be a bit expensive but it’s location is so spot-on that it’s worth a visit. I loved the smell of the hand made wooden beds and closets. Our room was a bit dark but roomy and clean. Falling asleep with the murmur of the Partnach stream is very relaxing. 😎 No restaurant but excellent breakfast and many good restaurants in walking distance. Loved our stay!

Eibsee is a breathtaking mountain lake located in the Wetterstein Mountains, known for its crystal-clear, deep blue waters. It is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a picturesque hiking loop and opportunities for boating. The area surrounding Eibsee is rich in natural beauty and serves as the gateway to the Alps, with easy access to Zugspitze, Germany's highest peak. Visitors can also enjoy modern amenities such as restaurants and hotels while experiencing Bavarian traditions and craftsmanship.
It is a very beautiful lake near the Alps mountain range. In winter it is completely frozen and you can walk on the ice. There is a very beautiful path around a lake for walking.

Without a doubt, the best and cleanest lake in Germany! The water is a bit cold due to the fact that it is next to the peak of Germany🇩🇪🗻. Definitely go for a round tour around the lake, you will see variety of amazing views🌅 It might be overcrowded over the weekend.
ÖZGÜR Ö — Google review
Beautiful, I recommend to go very early since the lake gets incredibly crowded from 9 a.m. The walk doesn't have lots of climbing, mainly a flat trail with amazing views. A relaxing walk and dogs enjoy it.

Eibsee: Bavaria's Emerald Jewel Eibsee is, quite simply, an out-of-this-world natural spectacle. Located at the base of the mighty Zugspitze, it offers a visual experience that feels less like a hike and more like stepping into a postcard. The water is a startling shade of turquoise and emerald, perfectly reflecting the dramatic mountain backdrop, creating a truly picturesque and unforgettable scene. The main attraction is the well-maintained circular path that traces the shoreline. This gentle, family-friendly walk is a pure joy, leading you through quiet forests and over small inlets. The trail's highlight is easily the small, charming wooden bridge that crosses one of the narrower points, providing stunning views across the water toward the tiny islands dotting the lake. Beyond the immediate loop, a network of excellent, quiet trails branch off, inviting hikers to explore the surrounding dense Bavarian woods. Eibsee is the perfect blend of accessibility, tranquil lakeside beauty, and high-alpine majesty.

A god‘s marvel. The best view is when you are coming down from the Zugspitze with the cable car. The beauty and the serenity takes you in, just leaves you in awe of what nature can give to you. Eibsee is heaven on earth, just visiting once or twice is simply not enough.

One of the most beautiful places in europe. Row/ paddle boat are available directly offline. However, tour (guide) boat needs to booked online in advance. Mobile toilets are available on the hike. There's a restuaraunt near the hoatung spot and that's the only place for food. Hiking takes around 3 hours with normal pace and few breaks. Row boat costs are around 15 euros for 4 people. Parking is available as well

【This place is really suitable for hiking and water play】 Next time I come here, I will definitely bring swimsuit, beach shoes, a waterproof phone case and a mat. The most comfortable thing I can think of is to take a one-and-a-half-hour walk around the lake first, because of the shade of trees, it won't get sunburned at all. Then lie down by the lake to rest and play paddle boarding or kayaking for a while. It's a bit of a pity that I couldn't watch the sunset in order to catch the bus. I'll come again!

This delightful hotel gasthof is situated in the centre of the old part of Garmisch. Walking distance to the shops and railway station. We had a junior suite with balcony and views towards the old Olympic ski jump ski runs and the Zugspitze. A spacious room and shower room. Breakfast is varied with plenty of choice. Hyperion Hotel Garmisch - Partenkirchen is a luxurious mountain property offering a range of amenities including a Bavarian restaurant, spa, indoor/outdoor pools, and complimentary breakfast buffet. Located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, it is an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts with activities such as hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing in the summer and skiing and snowboarding in the winter.
We have enjoyed a delightful stay at the Hyperion in a spacious and modern double deluxe room. The buffet breakfast is superb with lots of options including freshly cooked eggs and omelets, the perfect fuel for a day on the slopes. The staff are warm and welcoming and have been most gracious with our requests. Location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to the town center but quiet enough for a good nights sleep. It’s hard to find a hotel that ticks all the boxes, we will definitely return!

Great, clean hotel with a lovely breakfast that has a lot of variety. Fruit selection is awesome and it's really nice that they cut up the oranges and grapefruit for you, makes it much easier to eat. Room had strong AC which was definitely needed in the summer heat. I'm not sure how I would have dealt with the close to 90f temperatures without the AC. Staff was very friendly too. I love that the minibar was replenished every day and they give you the ingredients to make your own apple schorle or spetzi. We also had a balcony with fantastic views. The only negative is that the other guests were quite loud on their balconies and always smoking at night, so you can only enjoy the balcony for a little while at night until it starts completely smelling like cigarettes from your neighbors. And same for the breakfast, if you sit outside or near the door, someone is always smoking. I wish they would have a non-smoking area because it's bad for your health to always be breathing in secondhand smoke. Also, the shower was quite small and I think a larger person would have difficulty with it. However, it actually had a door instead of one of those European half glass doors that leaks water all over the place, which was great. The bathroom was nice and renovated with good water pressure and hot/cold settings. Overall this hotel is awesome and I would recommend it! The location is walkable and parking is available if you need it. The price is a little on the higher end for the area, but if you are coming in the summer, it's so worth it because there is AC, which makes it automatically better than 95% of the other hotels here.

The Hyperion is just a few minutes walk from the centre of Garmisch and that makes it a great base to explore the wider area either by public transport or by car. The hotel is clean and modern and the rooms are well decorated with everything you would need for a comfortable stay, including a coffee machine and fridge. The bathroom was perhaps a little small but still perfectly functional. We were lucky and had a room on the rear of the building and had a great view of the Zugspitze from our balcony. Breakfast was good quality, with a wide range of buffet options such as fruit, cereals, pastries and hot options. Staff were friendly and polite and always said hello in passing. They answered our questions on the local area. The bar staff made great cocktails. There were a few things that were a little frustrating however. 1. The buffet setup is a little chaotic. Instead of being spread out it's all clumped in a small area of the room where it's difficult to move past people. 2. The hotel is quite noisy. There doesn't seem to be much sound insulation between rooms. We often heard our neighbours simply moving their chair or shutting their doors. Also when they arrive home after partying until 4am in the morning. 3. We thought the charge for the parking garage was quite expensive. But of course, paying for it is paying for convenience. There is free parking on the roads around the hotel. On the whole we enjoyed our time at the Hyperion and would like to return some day.

Worst customer experience I had in a long time. I accidentally booked for the wrong day (during the week in May so the hotel was for sure not booked out) and wanted to move my date to June after I noticed. I was prepared to pay a significant extra amount and book a superior room but their „customer service“ was completely ignorant. Not a way to treat guests especially if you want them to return.

We spent three wonderful nights here in early spring. Our room was incredibly spacious for three people, and we loved the breathtaking mountain view. The breakfast was good enough to start the day, but the star of the show was definitely the beautiful indoor heated pool. While it's on the expensive side, the price feels justified for the quality of the amenities.

We booked a room with halfboard. I normally take my pillow with me every time i go on vacation, but this time i could not - the pillows were perfect! So was the room - renovated, clean, a decent (included) minibar. Some things to consider: - parking fee is not included - dinner… well you won’t leave hungry, but honestly i wouldn’t book it again. Not a single salad / piece of vegetable. You can only choose the main course. It’s ok, but it wasn’t good. - sauna is only naked, no other options. I’m used to having a family sauna next to naked options, but it’s not the case. Breakfast was very nice!

We stayed 3 night in the hotel and I totally recommend it, starting with the room with very comfortable size. Breakfast very complete and taste and the location is very good, 5-7 min walk to the city center and 12 min drive to the Eibsee! Staff also very friendly!

Vier Jahreszeiten is a traditional alpine-style hotel located in the heart of a town, offering picturesque mountain views and tranquility. The hotel provides over 50 cozy rooms with beautiful alpine vistas, equipped with modern amenities such as TV, phone, and private bathrooms. Guests can enjoy Bavarian dining on the sunny terrace while taking in the stunning mountain panorama. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi access and can arrange airport transportation upon request.
This is a great hotel situated within walking distance of many attractions in Garmisch Partenkirchen. We caught the Flixbus from Munich Airport which stops literally outside the hotel, as is the train station. Main town is about ten minutes walk, but there are restaurants very close by. Christian and the rest of the staff were brilliant, very attentive and helpful at all times. We went skiing daily, good ski/boot storage room in the hotel but we preferred to leave our skis at the gondola. Thank you Christian, we will be returning!

Wonderful stay! Had Mountain views and a comfortable room. The free breakfast was amazing each morning and when I asked for hot water for tea I was offered a kettle to keep in my room. The bus pass and access to the fitness center/sauna are a plus, too!

Rooms 🛏: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had booked a single-bed room, and it was small. The bedsheets and bathroom were clean. Quiet and peaceful. Price 💸: ⭐⭐⭐ Expensive for single bed rooms. But I guess this town is pricey. Location 📍: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It is no more than 1 minute walk from the train station, and 40 seconds walk to the bus station. Couldn't be any better. Service 🛎️: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quick service. I had forgotten my key card inside my room, and the receptionist immediately provided a duplicate key. Wi-Fi 🛜 speed: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Peak 150 Mbps at noon, and 253 Mbps very eary in the morning. Wheelchair accessibility ♿️: Yes. The hotel is accessible in wheelchairs, and one can use elevators to reach their rooms. Personal comment 💁🏻‍♂️: I reached 2 hours early, and fortunately, a room was provided to me. The receptionist is very warm and friendly, but struggles with English.

Good location basicallt at the train station, great for a short stay. Very clean. Breakfast was good too, range of options. Service was wonderful. I would stay again. Beds too soft for me. Nb. No fridge in room.

Nightmare. All the good reviews are old. The hotel is really old, isn’t very clean. Breakfast buffet was quite a joke. Also, it’s very loud in the night. We have a small baby, so I booked the double room, but was offered a room with two twin beds and bunk beds. One staff was very rude, in fact aggressive when I asked for double room. Do not ruin your holiday. You are wasting your money and holiday by booking this hotel.
Neo — Google review
Very old and aging hotel. The rooms are so-so. You can be lucky or unlucky like us and get a room with a rock hard mattress and a stone pillow. The breakfast is okay, the coffee is bad. Best about breakfast is the freshly pressed orange juice machine. The sauna is good and included. All in all, the hotel would be okay if it weren't so outrageously expensive. We stayed here with friends in early March. They had more luck with their room but still it remeins a very old hotel close to the main train station (center and most restaurants are 15min approximately away) for quite some money.

The Wittelsbacher Hof is a charming Art Nouveau hotel located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, offering a luxurious mountain escape with stunning views. The hotel features original features, a modern spa, and an indoor pool. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast and easy access to the shopping area and health facilities. The service provided by the staff is exceptional, making it stand out from chain hotels.
If you're expecting a five-star luxury hotel, this might not be it, but if you want real hospitality in action, keep on reading! What Wittelsbacher Hotel may lack in high-end decor, it more than makes up for in value, warmth, and excellent customer service. Frau Angela was super friendly and helpful, always ensuring we had all the information we needed to make the most of our stay. At breakfast, Frau Gada and her colleague greeted us with genuine smiles and were quick with our much-needed morning coffees & teas. The breakfast itself was just right, a nice continental selection as well as a warm breakfast. The wellness area is a lovely bonus. It includes a clean swimming pool, a proper 85°C sauna, and a brand-new infrared cabin perfect for unwinding after a long day of hiking. Another big plus: the hotel is only a 10-minute walk from the train station and you receive a complimentary city travel card.. There are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby. For the price, this hotel delivers far more than expected. I’d happily choose this authentic, comfortable experience over a five-star hotel any day.

Rooms are comfortable and food has more varieties. Since we reached the hotel at 12 am, they charged heavily without any concern. However been thanked for giving us room in that later night to have good sleep after 6 hours of driving from Frankfurt

I stayed in this hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen from August 12 to 15, in room 29. It was an unforgettable experience. The view from my window was absolutely breathtaking — waking up to the Alps every morning felt like living inside a painting. Every moment, from sunrise to sunset, offered a new and stunning perspective of the mountains. The staff were simply wonderful — attentive, genuinely kind, and always ready to help, yet never intrusive. Their warmth and professionalism made me feel truly welcome. The hotel itself is perfection: spotless, cozy, and designed with such care for detail that it creates an atmosphere of harmony and comfort. Everything was thought through to make the stay effortless and enjoyable. I am deeply grateful to the entire team for these days. This was one of the best hotel stays I have ever had. If you wish to experience true hospitality, breathtaking Alpine views, and a flawless stay — this is the place to be.

This hotel was a great value! Nice location, walkable to the downtown restaurants. We had a family room for our family of 4 and it was perfect! The room essentially was 2 rooms with with bathrooms and and door separating the rooms. Now that we have teenagers, it’s so great to not be jammed up in one room! The only downfall was no a/c— we opened the windows, but still it was hot in July. I would recommend a floor fan for the rooms. The best part of this hotel is the amazing included breakfast!!!! Seriously could not have been better. A gorgeous breakfast room and patio, meat, cheese, salmon, fruits, veggies, yogurts, and hot eggs/omelette made to order. And the ladies serving for breakfast were so sweet and helpful!!

I've seen a lot of comments about how outdated the hotel was, but my stay was great. Didn't try the wellness area so I can't comment on that. Very nice host (Martin) who provided service with a smile. I had a room with view of the mountains. Thanks a lot!

Moun10-urlaubswohnen is a newly opened apartment hotel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, offering modern 1- to 3-bedroom units with mountain views and a sauna. The property is centrally located near the train station and city center, making it convenient for outdoor enthusiasts. Guests can enjoy the garden and mountain views from the accommodation. The apartments are well-equipped with amenities including a washing machine and dryer, providing comfort for guests.
We stayed for 3 nights in October and we enjoyed our stay! It was conveniently located with the train station just opposite which also has convenience store there. There’s food and supermarket nearby too. The apartment is of a great size and had everything we needed, especially a washing machine! We will recommend this place!

First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to Sezai for his invaluable assistance and guidance throughout our stay. He patiently explained every step of the process, from check-in to parking, and provided detailed information about operating each machine in the apartment. His comprehensive knowledge of the city was truly impressive. The apartment was exceptionally clean and comfortable for my family. The presence of a van was a great convenience, and there was also a safe parking spot for 10 Euro with an automatic gate. However, during the back of summer, the air conditioner was a must-have to ensure a pleasant stay.

This a must-stay if you visit Garmisch-Partenkirchen! The facilities are top-notch and very tastefully decorated, with lots of space. The room we booked had a kitchen, living room (with TV and sofa and coffee table), dining area with a roomy dining table and a cosy bedroom. In Garmisch, you won't find a lot of eateries so the kitchen is virtually essential - we cooked almost every day we were here! They provided all the cooking essentials including knives, pots, pans, cutlery, basic seasonings etc! The location is also incredible, as it's located right next to the train station and only a few minutes' walk from bus stops that go to most of the local sights such as Mount Wank, Zugspitze and the Partnach Gorge. You can also easily walk to both sides of Garmisch-Partenkirchen towns from this place, and there's a massive grocery store (LIDL) barely 5 minutes away. The staff/owners are also incredibly friendly and gave us a helpful tour of the accomodation and facilities, and also gave us handy tips on how to get to most of the local sights. They were always cheerful and checked in on us if they saw us walking past the reception desk. All in all, a fantastic stay and a place I would strongly recommend to anyone staying at Garmisch-Partenkirchen :)

We had a wonderful stay at moun10-urlaubswohne. The apartment was amazing — spacious and beautifully arranged. We stayed in a unit with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room, which was perfect for our group. The sofa in the living room turns into a comfortable bed, which was very convenient. The view was absolutely stunning, and it added so much to the overall experience. A special thanks to Sezai, the receptionist. He was extremely helpful, kind, and always smiling. His service was outstanding, and he took the time to explain everything to us clearly and in detail. His honesty and friendliness made us feel truly welcome. Staying at their hotel was an absolute pleasure, and we would definitely come back again!

A nice, spotlessly clean apartment in a great location (the apartments look directly onto the train station, but fear not - the soundproofing in the balcony doors is excellent and anyway the trains move slowly in and out of the station). We only had one reservation about the room. The sofa is a sofa bed, and therefore not very comfortable to sit on. But great place for easy access to the trains and therefore the main cable cars. Staff welcome was very warm and friendly and service is very efficient.

The first thing my daughter said when we entered: “My flat is going to look like this…” So you know already this will work most likely… Very nice place, right next to trains, no noise, spacious, modern, warm, wood, clean, cozy… Staff was very helpful and nice too. Very close to the center, definitelly value for the price. Just small recommendation, boots in ski room to be heated please…. We will definitelly come back here…

The hotel is conveniently situated near ski lifts and popular attractions such as Garmisch-Partenkirchen Ski Resort and Ludwig Street. Our group had a wonderful holiday at this hotel. We felt cared for every single moment. Andrea is an incredibly friendly and warm-hearted person – she helped us with all our questions, gave us great ideas on how to spend our time, shared stories about the hotel and the family, and we laughed together from the heart. The hotel is located in a 10 minute walk from railway station. It has a plenty restaurants and shops around. The hotel is very cozy and has a special Bavarian charm. You can feel that every detail in the interior has been chosen with love, and each time you notice something new. The breakfast was rich and varied. In the evenings, we enjoyed live music, entertainment program, and amazing food – just keep in mind that the portions are very generous! Absolutely every member of the staff was cheerful and welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere that made us feel truly expected and appreciated. We also noticed that many locals chose to stay at the hotel, which says a lot. Andrea and Barbara – we would come back to you in a heartbeat!

What can’t be said about this wonderful Gasthof. We spent three nights there and felt like family. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Andrea. Very welcoming and I can tell she’s proud of her family’s establishment. I very much enjoyed hearing her tell the story of the hotel/restaurant. Breakfast every morning was lovely, and while we only ate dinner there once, it was also excellent. Great food, and live Bavarian music and entertainment. 10/10 location, 10/10 hospitality, would absolutely stay here again next time we are in the Garmisch area. Parking area is small and a bit tight (and costs a few euro per night), but that should be expected.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Driving in we were greater by Barbara who asked us to meet her in the restaurant. We checked in there and made our dinner reservations. We sent to our room, in a separate building. Walking into the room was like walking into a Time Machine. The air smelled of cedar wood. The family that owns the place give amazing hospitality.

We stayed at Gasthof Fraundorfer for two nights during our January ski trip and had a wonderful experience at this family-run hotel. The location couldn't be better - right in the center of town with convenient parking available at the back of the property. Our room was simple but perfectly comfortable, featuring cozy beds and a spotlessly clean bathroom with excellent shower pressure. Everything we needed was within walking distance, including supermarkets just 5 minutes down the road. The real highlight was the restaurant with its authentic live music and entertainment - it truly made us feel like we were experiencing the heart of Bavaria. The atmosphere was fantastic and added so much character to our stay. At around €100 per night, this represents excellent value for a destination village during peak winter season. We'd definitely recommend Gasthof Fraundorfer to anyone looking for an authentic Bavarian experience in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Good experience all around. Rooms are clean, location is excellent, staff are friendly and welcoming. We had dinner in the restaurant as well, was excellent. Good food, vibe and live music. Only negative thing was that the pillows were deplorable. Better to wrap a towel around the garbage can and sleep on that.

aja Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a centrally located upmarket hotel that offers a range of amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, and a restaurant with stunning mountain views. The ideal times to visit Garmisch-Partenkirchen are from June to September for summer activities like hiking and mountain biking, and from December to March for winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding. Staying at this hotel provides easy access to outdoor activities throughout the year.
We had a wonderful stay at aja GP. Beautiful hotel, excellent location and amenities. We had breakfast each day at the hotel, which was superb quality and large assortment of items though the coffee is not the best. We had dinner at the hotel once as well which was also excellent. The rooms were very comfortable though a little on the small side. We would absolutely stay again and recommend 100%.

Lovely hotel in stunning location. Very warm reception. Room was spacious and really comfortable. No AC. No phone line to front desk. Breakfast was decent. Parking is attached with underground garage. Direct access to the rooms from the garage. Really smooth check-in. We had a great stay for one night. If we were to stay for multiple nights, lack of phone line to front desk would have made it inconvenient for any requests.

This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The staff were all incredible, even if your German is not perfect. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed. During our 3 day stay, I interacted with almost everyone at the front desk and everyone was friendly and accommodating. The spa and pool area were beyond expectations. The pool and one of the saunas are family friendly. The 3 minute walk to the train station and Zugspitzbahn made our travels and hikes very efficient.

This was the most amazing hotel that totally exceeded our expectations. We instantly felt calm and relaxed when we arrived and there were so many things that had been thought about that made travelling with our four year old so easy. The pool and saunas are the highlight, including a great heated outdoor pool with views of the mountains.

Only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the “Mountain View” room upgrade isn’t quite as advertised.. I was expecting the view showed in the photos, while I’m sure some rooms have this view, ours did not and wouldn’t have paid for the upgrade for what we got. We were disappointed and felt a little deceived. Other than that, the hotel was incredible. - Great place to relax after hiking or just spend the day disconnecting. - Pool and spa were incredibly clean and there was always a place to sit. - We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating to our very limited knowledge of the German language. - location can’t be beat if you are traveling by train, so convenient! - We really enjoyed the breakfast selection and the afternoon coffee and tea - there wasn’t AC but the window opened fully to allow the room to cool off. - with the windows closed we couldn’t hear a thing outside, totally soundproof! We would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends

Unfortunately I can just give one points for the Aja hotel in Garmisch. Was rated two and again got further disappointed… Short summary: big minus because of cleanness of the hotel room, bad price value. And the service is not so friendly. Positive points: spa areas and swim pools. The sofa in the room was with a big dirty spot (20x20cm). The reception didn’t believe us and sent the cleaning staff to check. Due to the full house we can’t get another room and the sofa is then covered with a clean blanket. And was promised to be cleaned the day after. The location of hotel is close to the station. But on quite busy street. Need to close the window to avoid the noise. The bar at pool is refusing to serve food because it is 5 mins to 18:00… The highlights are the spa areas, nice and big with many pools. And the view to the alps is wonderful. The food was ok with good price. I don’t think we will come back here again. Overall it doesn’t match our expectations for the price in the high season.

One of the best resorts in this city. Location: No car? No problem. The resort is just a short walk from the train and bus stations, with a large supermarket right across the street. Room: Be sure to book a mountain view room for the best scenery. The shower room has a clear glass design, but there's a curtain between the bed area and the bathroom for privacy. There's no air conditioning or fridge in the room. Facilities: This family-friendly resort offers a spacious indoor pool and sauna area—just remember to bring your own slippers, as they're required for entry. The outdoor pool is absolutely stunning. Food: Breakfast is beautifully presented with plenty of choices, including champagne. However the pancakes were dry and hard on the edges, and the mixed fruits weren’t fresh. There is a fresh cooking station for egg which is great. Hotel Perks: A free coffee break is offered from 2–3 PM with yogurt, cake, and possibly coffee (we didn’t have time to try it). A bus ticket is also provided via email, which can be used to travel to Linderhof and nearby areas. Staff: The reception team is very welcoming and helpful. Mareen( sorry for wrong spelling) was giving ampify service during our 2nd check-in. She took a time for explaining hotel facilities including the tips for travellijng. Joas was helping us for a bus ticket. Special thanks to them.

The staff were friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with anything we needed. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable—we’ll definitely be coming back!

I ’d absolutely recommend staying at the Eibsee Hotel and will probably find my way back there someday. The location is obviously incredible - right on the lake with gorgeous views in every direction. I was really pleasantly surprised by the food. Breakfast had a ton of variety, the afternoon snack was more than enough to count as lunch, and both restaurants served truly excellent dinners. Great wine selection, too. The service was top notch. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and on top of things. I didn’t have any trouble at all as an English speaker. The spa was super relaxing and bigger than I expected—I especially loved the quiet room with a view of the lake. There are so many cozy spots around the hotel to just sit, breathe, and enjoy the scenery. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place that really delivers on both comfort and experience.

The location of the Eibsee Hotel is undeniably stunning - right by the lake, with breathtaking views and easy access to nature walks and hikes. However, our overall experience did not live up to the expectations one would have of a 4-star establishment. We've stayed at several other 4-star hotels and resorts in the past, and unfortunately, this one fell short in terms of service quality. While the restaurant staff were warm and welcoming, the reception service left much to be desired. A particularly unpleasant incident involved a staff member (possibly a manager, which is worse) who approached us in an extremely rude manner, assuming we were not hotel guests. It was only after his colleague informed him that we were indeed staying at the hotel that the situation was clarified - yet no apology was offered. This interaction felt not only unprofessional but also dismissive, especially given that we were well-presented and had simply returned from a hike and freshened up before dinner. It was hard to ignore the contrast in how other guests - particularly white or German individuals, were treated with noticeably more courtesy. This disparity in treatment was disappointing and left us with the impression that the hotel may not often host people of color, or is perhaps not accustomed to doing so with the same level of hospitality. Despite the beautiful setting and some positive elements, our experience was tainted by this unfortunate interaction. For that reason, we would not choose to return or recommend the hotel to others looking for a welcoming and inclusive stay.

Love the surrounding nature, the breakfast buffet was always a delight, a big thumbs up 👍🏻 to the egg station chef! All the staff were extremely attentive and super nice. We had a fantastic weekend getaway.

🌟 Wonderful stay at the Eibsee Hotel 🌟 The hotel offers an excellent value for money 💶 : the room was comfortable and the included half-board very convenient. The meals were varied and delicious 🍴, definitely up to expectations. The restaurant has huge panoramic windows overlooking the lake 🌊 – a true highlight, especially at breakfast when I loved starting my day with such a stunning view. My room had a terrace with an amazing view of both Lake Eibsee and the mountains 🏔️💙 – such a privilege to wake up to that scenery! The hotel also provides great amenities: direct access to the private beach 🏖️ with kayaks and paddle boards 🚣‍♀️🛶 to explore the lake. A magical and refreshing experience. I didn’t get the chance to try the spa 💆‍♀️, but it’s available and adds to the already well-rounded offer. The surroundings are just as exceptional: Lake Eibsee is one of the most beautiful in Germany 🌿, located at the foot of the Zugspitze 🚡. Whether walking around the lake or going up to the summit, there’s plenty to enjoy! 👉 In short: a wonderful hotel in a unique setting, perfect both for relaxing and exploring this stunning region.

We had a big family holiday staying in Eibsee hotel for a week. It was a wonderful experience and we all had an amazing time! There are so many different things to do at Eibsee hotel. My family enjoyed activities like cycling, hiking and jogging around the lake. Also swimming, paddle boarding, pedalos, and canoeing in the lake. My husband and his brother traversed some of the local Vai Ferratas. There is a cable car station right next to the hotel which you can use all year round. We went in summer so there was no snow but you can do skiing in winter. There is a luxury spa with gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room next to the spa lounge for the guests who likes to just chill out in a quiet relaxing area with a stunning view of the mountain and lake. The food was buffet style and we enjoyed every single day of the luxurious menus. I specifically enjoyed the bar in the evenings. The bartender, Bence, entertained us with stunning cocktails and he also entertained my teenage son showing him how to make mocktails. My son felt very welcomed and enjoyed it very much. Bence's excellent friendly service and stunning cocktails made us come back to the bar every single night! Overall, I really enjoyed our holiday and I would strongly recommend the Eibsee hotel to everyone!

Hotel Garni Brunnthaler Garmisch Partenkirchen is a charming family-run hotel offering a range of amenities including a sauna, terrace, garden, exercise room, and Wi-Fi. The location is ideal for nature and winter sports enthusiasts with easy access to hiking and skiing trails. The rooms are well-maintained with thoughtful touches and offer beautiful mountain views. The hospitality is exceptional, making guests feel welcomed and at ease throughout their stay.
My wife and I just spent three nights here and absolutely loved our stay. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room was very comfortable and had a nice outdoor seating area. Breakfast was served every morning at 07:30 and was quite tasty. The location was perfect for exploring Garmisch and the surrounding area. I definitely recommend staying here when visiting Garmisch.

Solo American 5 night experience: this was hands down the best hotel I stayed at during my 2 week trip in Germany. The staff were friendly, the breakfast was fantastic, the views were incredible, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I don’t think I could have found a better deal anywhere else in Garmisch. The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from the train station and from the main tourist area of town. I honestly didn’t see another hotel that had a better location between these 2 areas but I suppose one could exist. I did have a problem with my shower on the first day and the problem was fixed immediately, despite it being after working hours for most of their staff. All shower experiences after were great. I have only one complaint: Cigarettes. I like to sleep with my window open to let the cool air in and there were a few occasions where cigarette smoke from the neighbors got into my room. As an American coming to Germany the amount of cigarette smoking in public was my biggest “culture shock”. Perhaps if you live in Germany/Europe already, this may not be as much of an issue for you. All around: 5 stars. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation. The cigarette smoke was a downside, but everything else made up for it.

Great surprise! Wasn’t sure what to expect about his hotel. Besides the good location. It was quite the surprise, to find the rooms to be so modern and well keep, the bathroom on the small side, since I book a single room, but it had all the new amenities, and it looked brand new. The sauna and relaxation room was a big plus. Parking wasn’t an issue, and close to the ski lifts. At check out they gave a whole chocolate bar!! Nice!! Will definitely stay here next time I’m in town!!

I had one if not the best night of sleep ever in my stay here, the bed is super comfortable. This place was definitely worth it and I highly recommend it, even though my stay here was spontaneous and I only stayed for one night but still, I loved it. Despite the simplicity of the location, the room, the breakfast, in my opinion it beats so many other 5 stars hotels I’ve stayed in before, including the one I had stayed at in Singapore. Plus nothing beats the views of the mountains from here, again my room was simple, but am sure if you get one of their larger rooms you’ll have an amazing view of the Bavarian Alps. They also have a gym and a sauna if you’re into that, but I didn’t have enough time to use them. Not many small hotels/resorts in Europe have their own parking spaces, so I was also glad that they had a parking space of their own in the back. So if you are driving, that’s one thing you won’t have to worry about. Most importantly the hospitality, over here you’ll be warmly welcomed and the service is amazing, if I ever comeback to the area I will most likely stay here again.

Great hotel. We spent two nights, two rooms. First and foremost- great service. Basic but have-it-all rooms, with a nice balcony. Very clean. The location is perfect- you have the city, train, and the nature just minutes from there. I went out running and after few minutes I found myself running in a nice trail surrounded by greens. The hospitality of the team is great. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed this 3-star hotel for easy access to the city center and amazing breakfast and overall service. Bathroom was spotless. The room was on the tight side and rather modern. I somehow expected traditional Bavarian furnishing like in other hotels in Garmisch. We had a great time!

Cam S — Google review
Unpleasant and unforgettable experience with the arrogant service! (Writing again since I got a comment from the hotel that I am aggressive and telling lies, which is not true; and writing this comment to give public information for future customers and NOT to insult.) As I believe that the hospitality quality and selling good experience are important for hotel business especially, I share my bad experience here. When we came back to the hotel to get our luggages after check out, we got asked whether we want to grap a cup of tea or coffee. We took one black tea(4.20euro) and small cappuccino(3.90euro) and also took three finger food size cakes(2.50euro each)(which was introduced "for free" when we check in). Eventually we are asked to pay 15.60 euro for the service. It was quite surprising since the way they asked seemed like hotel's invitation and it was too expensive for small cakes and drinks. In the end, 15.60 euro is nothing for us but most ridiculous situation came like followings. We complained about unexpected and excessive payment. The manager's response was "you are not our guest anymore" inhospitable. Strictly speaking, we are not guests anymore since we checked out and probably we are not deserved to take free service from hotel. It is OK to pay what I had, but the problem was the manager's behavior and attitude. When we were complaining, the manager kept cutting us off saying "let me talk" with annoying voice. And she kept telling us "thank you" with nasty, sarcastic and arrogant smile. I regret to choose this hotel and it ruined the vacation mood. Probably I will get comment again from the hotel that I am a liar or insulting. But I don't want any comment again except sincere apologies. I don't write reviews especially negative ones. But this incident was very unpleasant so I have to leave the comment. It is so funny to read other reviews which have same experience like me and the answer from hotel is even more interesting! In my opinion, sarcasm is their specialty and never accept their faults. It was a pleasure to read other reviews before they change the comments😉 To my comments: I am NOT angry because I paid. Problem was attitude of the manager! Many people are already pointing out the problem but it looks like this problem will be never solved since the management doesn't know what is the problem😁 To my 2nd comments: AGAIN, I am "NOT" angry because I paid!!! It is very natural to pay what I had for sure. 15 euro is nothing for me! Again I emphasize; the problem was the attitude of the manager!!! The way of talking of manager was humiliating and rude. It could be said more decent and kind way that we need to pay without sarcasm. I was NOT against the payment. This hotel is still not getting the point and make the "previous" customer more and more angry with unreflected and sarcastic replies. The more you write this kind of replies, the more you reinforce the fact that my comment is correct in public. I don't understand why it is so difficult to get simple apologies for the arrogant service. It is not what I expected when I book a four star hotel. #Zugspitze #Alpen #Bergblick #Sauna #Eibsee

If you want to enjoy the GAP area this is a perfect location. Grainau and Längenfelder Hof is a great choice for alpine scenery. You can get here by the small train and will do well without a car. I recommend you rent bicycles (electric or other) as you have access to great roads and paths.

The Hotel Trifthof Garni is a great place to stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It's located just a kilometer from the Olympiaschanze ski jump and the main railway station, making it easy to get around town. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, and the hosts are very friendly. There's also a breakfast buffet available, as well as a garden and lounge area where you can relax after a day of skiing or hiking.
We had a wonderful stay here. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful. They allowed us to leave our bags until check in was available. The rooms appear a bit dated, but their rustic appearance adds to the charm and character of the place. Everything was very clean including breakfast. Bathroom shower is a bit small, but nothing to complain about. Definitely recommend anyone stay here!

A Wonderful Stay with the Best European Breakfast! I had such a lovely stay at your hotel and wanted to take a moment to say thank you. To start, the breakfast was absolutely the best European breakfast I’ve ever had. I especially enjoyed the bacon, ham, and the colorful boiled eggs—everything was not only delicious but beautifully presented. The breakfast area also offered a charming view, which made each morning even more enjoyable. The hotel's location is another big plus—just an 8-minute walk from Garmisch Station, making it very convenient. I also loved the scenic path next to the hotel, perfect for a morning jog or a peaceful evening walk. The wide green fields along the route made me feel like I had stepped into a fairytale. The surrounding area is simply breathtaking, with views of the majestic Alps and the charming Bavarian-style houses that add so much character to the town. Thank you again for a memorable experience. I would love to return in the future!

We had a great stay. Everything was super clean and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and excellent every morning. The location was a nice walk from the centrum and the train station but it was nice to see all the beautifully painted houses. The hostess was very warm and friendly and even gave us an early Christmas present of chocolates!!! Would definitely stay there again.

The staff was very kind and available in case of need. Rooms were clean, bathroom too. Location is good and the city center of Garmisch is reachable in 10 min. The hotel is basic but it was a good stay without complaints. Nonetheless, the price is not cheap as you would expect for such an accommodation, but this is the same for every hotel in Garmisch.

This was one of the cutest hotels we stayed at during our trip around Europe. My girlfriend speaks a little German and spoke to the lovely owner and we received the loveliest service during our one night stay. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived as we only booked online a few hours before arriving but they made sure to make up our room as soon as we arrived and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. The rooms are on the smaller side but we had a nice ensuite with a good shower and a beautiful balcony with views of the mountains and a nice outdoor table to enjoy the morning sun. The property freshly cook and prepare breakfast everyday and they had a beautiful buffet ready. This was included in the price and we didn't want to leave. We will definitely come back and thank you so much for looking after us!

This hotel is a gem. It's quaint, clean, and fresh with balconies off the room. The breakfast included is the best and includes a wide variety of items such as meats, vegetables, cheeses, cereals and breads. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were soft and squeezable. There is no AC, but that is not an issue. The nights are cool, you can sleep with the patio door open, and there is a fan in the room if needed. As with most European hotels, the bed has a comforter only and no top sheet. The view from the balcony is amazing and it is a great place to relax and have a night cap. The location is nice too. Garmisch city center is about a 15 minute walk. Partenkirchen center us a 10 minute walk. Both places have a great selection of restaurants. Parking is free at the hotel. It is limited and you can park nearby on the streets if needed. The owners are great. They take great pride in the hotel and it shows. I know I would go back there and I highly recommend it for others.

tldr: one of the best stays we’ve ever had — highly recommend! We arrived in Grainau by car around midday, and our room was already ready even though check-in time was later. That small gesture set the tone for the whole stay. Parking was right in front of the guesthouse, super easy and stress-free. The room itself felt almost brand new: spotless, modern, and very practical. It had a fully stocked kitchen with a proper cooking hob and all the utensils you’d need to cook like at home (though we mostly ate out). The bed was perfectly comfortable — not too firm, not too soft — and the bathroom had a window, which makes it feel bright and fresh. Best of all, our terrace looked right onto the mountains, with a stunning view of Zugspitze. The property is clearly cared for with love. The yard is beautifully designed, with cozy corners to sit in and even a small pool for cooling off on a hot day. What really made it feel special is that the hosts also live there — so instead of feeling like a faceless rental in a ski village, the whole place feels like someone’s home (in the best way). Location-wise, Grainau is perfect. It’s calm and peaceful compared to busy Garmisch, but you still have plenty of restaurants around and really easy access to both Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Zugspitze by bus or train. And finally, the host, Sandra, is what makes this place shine. She was incredibly warm, always happy to chat, and gave us really helpful tips on getting around. You instantly feel welcomed and at home. We stayed for two nights but honestly wish we had booked longer. Can’t wait to come back!

Just returned from a three week tour in Germany. Of all the hotels that we stayed in, Gastehaus Richter was by far our favourite! From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family. The hotel is renovated to a very high standard. We had a lovely room with a terrace in the beautiful garden that had a stunning view of the Zugspitz mountain. Breakfast by grandpa each morning was fabulous and the afternoon coffee and cakes were an unexpected treat! We loved everything about our stay here and would not hesitate to recommend or return.

I don't have a bad word to say about Gastehaus Richter - it fully deserves all the fantastic reviews. We loved the family - Otto, Sunny & Christoph - all legends! The breakfast was SO GOOD especially Otto's eggs and Christoph drove all the way to pick us up from a nearby restaurant we went to for dinner because it was raining! The setting - at the foot of the mighty Zugspitze - is stunning and the garden and natural pool provide such a peaceful setting for reading and swimming. Sunny has such an eye for design, our room was super comfortable and clean and all the sheets and towels smelt like roses. An absolute pleasure to stay here - thank you! I look forward to returning to ski in the winter!

We booked this place last minute as a group of four and took the chalet. I have to say we all found it amazing. The owners were friendly and showed us the apartment facilities on arrival. You can book this place with confidence for it's location close to both the town centre and ski station. Off road parking is somewhat limited at the side of the building but we never had trouble and there are many spaces on the roads. I would say that my only issue in the Chalet would be maybe the interconnecting door between the two bedrooms cutting down some privacy.. Since it's aimed at adults and not parents with kids I am not really sure why the door is there. That aside really this is a fantastic place to stay. Wouldn't hesitate to come back again. Congratulations to the owners.

Partnachklamm, located in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, is a narrow and picturesque gorge featuring waterfalls and a walkway, making it a popular destination for hikers. During winter, torch hiking tours are available in the area, offering an exciting way to experience the beauty of the gorge. The 703m long and 80m high Alpine wonder provides breathtaking views of spraying waterfalls, rapids, and calm basins.
A Must-Visit for Nature Lovers! 💚🏞️ Partnachklamm is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited — truly a wonder created by nature. If you ever get the chance, this place is an absolute must-visit! I wish I could go there again. The whole experience feels magical. The stunning gorge, the flowing river, and the natural ambience — it’s honestly hard to describe in words. You’ll be walking along the riverbanks, and much of the path runs through tunnels where it feels like it’s raining inside. It’s such a unique and refreshing feeling. A quick tip: If you can handle the cold, it’s better to wear shorts or something you can easily fold up. The pathway can get wet, and your clothes might get dirty by the time you exit the gorge. But if you’re sensitive to cold, make sure to carry a jacket with you. If you love nature, adventure, and breathtaking views, you’re definitely going to love this place!

A must visit for all people who like walking though nature. This place is amazing and so beautiful. U walk through it and wonder how nature works and see that if u leave nature to itself it does amazing things. People with wheelchair, strollers and people with walking handicap will have a hard time walking though here. Also when u go through the gorge is good to have a flash light, waterproof clothing and hiking booth.
Mary L — Google review
Beautiful experience! The Partnachklamm is very well maintained and easy to follow, with clear paths and a nicely mapped route through the gorge. It’s a relatively easy hike. It can get a bit crowded on weekends, but the scenery more than makes up for it. After exiting the gorge, there are plenty of hiking trails to choose from if you’d like to continue exploring. Amazing place, gorgeous. Nature is impressive and the power of water is very obvious here. Some parts are rather dark though, so maybe bring a torch or just use your mobile phone for lighting. The paths are narrow in some parts but seeing that there wasn't too much going on, it was not a problem. I can imagine that it might be bothersome on busy day.

Visiting Partnachklamm – Beautiful, But Overpriced Partnachklamm (Partnach Gorge) is undeniably a natural wonder and a must-see if you're in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area. The gorge is stunning, with its narrow passageways, towering limestone walls, and the sound of rushing water echoing through the canyon. It's an impressive display of raw natural beauty that photographers and nature-lovers will absolutely appreciate. However, the experience does come with a downside: the entrance fee. At €10 per adult (as of 2025), it feels steep for what is essentially a short, 700-meter walk through the gorge. While the path is well-maintained and safety measures are clearly in place, the high price doesn’t quite match the duration or complexity of the attraction. There's no guided experience included, and facilities are fairly basic. If you're traveling with a family or on a budget, the cost can add up quickly. It would be more reasonable if the ticket included access to nearby trails or some additional interpretive content about the geology and history of the gorge. In short: Pros: Stunning scenery, unique experience, easily accessible. Cons: Short walk, crowded during peak hours, and overpriced for what you get. Worth visiting once, especially if you've never seen a gorge like this before — but be prepared to pay more than you'd expect for a brief nature walk.

It’s a beauty. Observing the gorge and the surrounding was a very nice adventure. Obviously it might get a bit crowded especially on the weekends but the beauty wouldn’t allow anything to interfere. There is also a very nice hike route right after the gorge. Totally recommend.

Amazing experience walking along the catwalk and carved path through this glacial slot canyon! The water is clear and tinted ice-blue, rushing, and slicing through space that seems only a few feet wide, while you walk through cavernous tunnels and under overhangs. And then, coming out the other side, you get to walk back above and over it all! What a fun hike!! Just be prepared for some steep walking with good shoes, water, and a flashlight for those dark sections!
Brian B — Google review
An unusual gorge. I've been to many, but this one is very interesting. There are many sections where you simply walk through a narrow tunnel right in the cliff. A lot of people. Obviously, this place is very popular.

Guests have praised the deliciously prepared meals at the restaurant and appreciated the friendly and accommodating staff.
Sets right in middle of the old Town. The Church is straight across the street The entire guesthouse is Old Traditional and in my opinion kept that way very good. .seen complaints of being noise but that is what is never going to be a hidden thing unless you go into a cave from people...I did not mind it all because I did not go there to get involved in people business to hear what they say... the female receptionist was also our waiter...she is a joy to have and can make some laughs....food was great...so being raised with no shoes I have not got above my raising and complain about small things or details...If I come back to Garmish I will definitely stay here.

Nice hotel well located. Breakfast was solid. A quaint location. Owner hilariously in retrospect made no attempt to speak English to me, which I actually respect. Pimsleur is much more practical for language learning than rosetta stone!

Very traditional inn which used to be popular among locals. But not any more. The rooms are clean but very simple and don't justify the pricy room rate. Food is distasteful and too expensive, breakfast is okay though. The personnel is very nice and helpful. The inn's location in the center of Partenkirchen is good but there are better places to stay and to eat nearby. If you want to have a beer in traditional location it's acceptable.

Rooms were really nice and also the view from window is beautiful. Breakfast is included in the stay and food was tasty. The owner of the hotel is really good at providing services and always there if you need any support. 🙂 However, what I did not like was the behavior of staff. When we asked for some help regarding our room, their reaction was very rude. So tip to the staff if you are providing services, then please be a little patient and learn to talk politely. 👍 just because of this reason giving 3 or I would have given 5.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special. We upgraded our room, but it was just an average room. The towels were rough and our water didn't get very hot. The quality that you get doesn't match the expensive price, which is unfortunate. FYI, there is an extra charge if you use credit card to pay for your stay

Lovely location, 500+ year old hotel. Nice showers clean rooms. I was on the top flower so very low ceiling but my son was on the second floor and plenty of room for a EU hotel (don’t expect big US rooms or beds if coming over the pond :) )

The room was nicer than expected and the views and location are amazing. Every staff member we encountered was absolutely friendly. Some of the rooms are have a rustic alpine fee while others are fresh and modern. The location is unbeatable.

i have experience with the apartment which was ok-ish. New kitchen and bathroom, but very old floor which make a lot of noise. The utilities in the kitchen are very basic. Breakfast is nice but overcrowded and you have to wait. Sauna is very basic, without any water or place for relax.
Ivana K — Google review
The rooms are fine but we didn't get any soap or shampoo, just hand washing liquid. Breakfasts were good. The biggest problem starts if you want to eat dinner or lunch there. Out of five meals we ate during the stay only two of them were fine. The thing they call risotto was really weird.

This hotel is in a great location near shops. The employees who we interacted with were all great and very helpful. The rooms were nice and clean. No complaints.

Fantastic central location, restaurants and shopping down every back street. We stayed in the annex so I can't speak to the hotel. The apartments need paint and touch ups and there is no parking, so it's first come. Off season price is excellent, however high season makes this apartment overpriced.

Historic hotel located within easy walking distance of the town centre and Tourist Info Office. The breakfast buffet is pretty good. With cold meats, smoked salmon, cheeses, breads, and the usual fare. At check-in we received a free travel pass for the week covering all the local buses which was extremely useful for reaching ski lifts, the train station and into the Partenkirchen side of town. On Friday and Saturday evenings the adjoining Steak & Wine restaurant can be accessed beside the hotel's reception desk, or from the alleyway beside the hotel. The food here is really good! The hotel lounge and bar was rather quiet during the middle of the week, but the staff were helpful and very friendly and the Weißbier was truly excellent.
Bruce R — Google review
The food was terrible. The salad was old and soggy. The steak was overcooked and seasoned with something that should never go on a steak. And the potato was covered in nearly a cup of sour cream with the same odd seasoning. We don't live here but do live in Germany so we are used to the flavors and like them. This was not that. And the cordon bleu looked like fast food with a child-sized portion of fries. I tried forcing bites down and ultimately gagged. I can't even describe how awful our dinner was.

Nestled in the picturesque town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Wallfahrtskirche St. Anton is a stunning example of Rococo architecture, constructed between 1708 and 1738. This beautiful pilgrimage church features an eye-catching onion dome that can be seen from afar. Originally home to a small chapel built by cousins Jakob and Johann Lidl in the 17th century, it was transformed into its current form after the Spanish War of Succession.
I love this beautiful church with dozens of thought-provoking framed photos of young German soldiers lost in the world wars. Poignant and peaceful in a lovely setting.
Curtis C — Google review
I'd bet many Americans don't get to this out-of-the-way beautiful yet moving place. It was memorable and moving to my wife and I. Moving because it is not only clearly Holy, but also a statement as to the follies of men when they choose war. The many little plaques, and this is only one wall among many, not only here but throughout Germany, that speak of their war losses. Then the oil painting pictures combantants, and the translation basically thanks God that their prayers asking for no bombing were answered. (Perhaps a German could provide us an accrurate translation?) The combination of the painting with all those plaques created in me a very reflective mood. It's a beautiful church in a lovely location and a nice hike, whether going up the mountain and then walking down or walking up from Partenkirchen.

Kokaroll — Google review
We discovered this place on our hike, not realising it was only minutes from our hotel. It's both a beautiful and moving church which acts as a memorial for the wars. It's a must-visit and I got more from this than most "tourist war memorials".
Jonathan G — Google review
Beautiful walk, beautiful church that I had the pleasure of visiting during a stage towards the Tannehütte route. A place of prayer disfigured (in my opinion) by the presence of numerous plaques of Nazi soldiers who fell in war. A reprehensible presence.
L P — Google review
Beautiful church interior. Painful reminder of the world wars on the way in through the main entrance from the Philosopher's path stairs (all the pictures of children parents would never see again). Worth a visit and you can reward the kids with a trip to the playground afterward.

A very silent place, where you can feel beavenly. The walk up the hill is also mesmerising, with a silent gush of the wind, and a view of the whole town on one side. The church is very peaceful, as expected.

Schloss Elmau is a sophisticated resort consisting of two hotels, offering luxury spa facilities, upscale dining options, and six pools. Located in Kruen, this luxurious retreat is surrounded by the stunning Bavarian Alps and offers a range of recreational amenities including multiple outdoor swimming pools, a sauna, and a 24-hour fitness center. The hotel's history dates back to its construction in 1916 as a retreat for friends and artists.
The place is magical. It is truly a spa experience in its entirety. Everything is well thought out and relaxing - from the children’s playgrounds to the sound of birds outside of your window. The materials used for construction, the wood grain under your feet in the rooms, the lighting, the textures, and the variety of activities are designed for you to truly relax and pamper yourself in every way. Fabulous massages, perfect pool temperature, everything is spotless. High quality bedding and sound insulation. Schloss Elmau is a gem!

I had the most wonderful experience at Schloss Elmau. The hotel is truly one of a kind: surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery, it combines absolute peace and quiet with world-class luxury. The service is outstanding, warm and attentive without ever being intrusive. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed and offer incredible comfort. The spa and wellness areas are exceptional, with multiple pools, saunas and relaxation spaces that make it easy to disconnect completely. The culinary experience is also remarkable, with restaurants that serve outstanding meals, from breakfast to dinner. What impressed me most is the atmosphere: Schloss Elmau manages to create a place where you feel at home, yet constantly amazed by the beauty and attention to detail. It is the perfect destination for anyone seeking relaxation, inspiration and unforgettable memories. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, and I am already looking forward to returning.

Overall, I had a great experience, but there is an important “but.” When I travel and stay at a hotel, I don’t expect it to express any political views. Regardless of the global political situation — and here I’m referring specifically to the Israeli flag given as a welcome gift — I come to a hotel to relax and leave the world behind. Your hotel presents itself as a retreat, but in my case, it failed to offer that escape. I couldn’t stop thinking about it throughout my entire stay.
Timothee B — Google review
Set amidst one of the most magical alpine settings, surrounded by mountains, meadows, and forests, this property truly showcases the beauty and serenity of the Bavarian Alps. It’s no surprise that the G7 summit was once held here — the location feels both secure and inspiring. Guests can enjoy a short hike to Elmau Alm for a hearty lunch in its charming mountain hut, or simply unwind in the many spa pools scattered across the estate. For a must-do excursion, the Zugspitze — Germany’s highest peak — is only a 30-minute drive away, best experienced on a clear day. That said, there are certain drawbacks. The hotel is extremely popular for corporate events, and when either the Retreat or the Hideaway is booked out, access to that property’s facilities and restaurants is restricted. The Hideaway offers more extensive facilities and larger dining venues, but the main building feels somewhat cloistered, with enclosed, dimly lit spaces. The main dining hall lacks atmosphere, whereas the Retreat offers beautiful outdoor breakfast seating — a far more inviting option. Unfortunately, the main restaurant’s dinner service is quite limited and the quality underwhelming for a property of this caliber. The Badhaus spa features a wide range of facilities, though it notably lacks hydro-massage jets in the pool — a common standard in Swiss spas that elevate the experience with targeted water massage. The hammam was also disappointing; the large marble table appears to be more decorative than functional. On a positive note, the Retreat’s Mediterranean and Japanese restaurants deliver well-prepared dishes, though menus remain limited. The temporary Thai restaurant is enjoyable, but not exceptional. Service is another area where the property falls short. While staff are polite, the overall experience feels understaffed and less polished compared to other five-star resorts. Many team members appear relatively inexperienced, leaving service execution a step behind expectations.
Vic N — Google review
Visiting Schloss Elmau was a bucket list stay that did not disappoint. The accommodations, location, and staff exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the main hotel, The Hideaway, the second building, The Retreat is designed for families. Our room was fairly large, with a comfortable bed and a bathroom that met the size challenge; I am 6’5’. I was impressed by the staff; English, in addition to German and other languages, was spoken by the staff, and we felt at ease as guests interacting with the hotel. The check-in process was flawless; we were met at the front of the hotel by a crew who took our bags and whisked our rental car off to the underground garage. We had a mountain view from our room, which was simply spectacular. I read some comments previously about the lack of in-room air conditioning, but with the windows opened for a cross breeze, it was more than sufficient. I do wish there were more electrical outlets to host our various gadgets that need to be recharged. Luckily, we brought our travel extension charger. There are three restaurants on the property, and we only dined at one: the main dining hall, where breakfast and dinner are served. Breakfast has a variety of choices to accommodate a global palate. Dinner has a buffet-style selection of salads, desserts, and a daily changing menu of main course options; most were fine, though I thought one meal missed the mark—the duck, which was disappointing; the confit duck leg should be sent back to the drawing board. The kids' meals? Well, a toddler won’t care if the French Fries were soggy and the chicken tenders were cardboard; I went for it after the crappy duck—hence, how I know. The dinner buffet was 85 euros; I’m not sure about breakfast, perhaps it was included, I have not audited the bill. The spa facilities are, well, it's why one comes—top-notch! The heated pool, activity accessories such as bikes, golf, tennis, and archery are all available. I loved that there were family pools and then adult-only accommodations, along with some optional clothing if that is your interest. The Krun area, where the hotel is located and the direct property, requires you to bring your walking shoes; don’t miss the biggest opportunity of all - getting close to what nature has to offer. The most impressive feature of Schloss Elmau is the fusion of cultures in the decor. I think we witnessed a combination of German, Italian, and Eastern Indian influences. I was particularly impressed with the lighting, especially in the library. The walnut ceiling in the library was to die for, coupled with interesting bespoke lighting choices among the variety of books; I took pictures of more than a few to find in the US 110-volt versions. The use of Indian reds to bring comfort and ease was thoughtful and reflects a strong infusion of Hindu decorating. I wish to conclude my comments by touching upon the cultural and intellectual elements we were fortunate enough to experience. Despite struggling with jet lag and fatigue, we witnessed a spectacular performance by an award-winning pianist. Schloss Elmau is structured around performances and intellectual engagements. On our last full day, we met an Upper West Side New York resident who was herself a pianist and had, by her account, played for the Kennedy family—yes, that Kennedy family. She remarked that this was her sixth time visiting, and it was her favorite place for all that I mentioned. I hope we can allocate time for another visit to not only explore off the property more but also to enjoy all Schloss Elmau has to offer.

Amazing place midst of mountains. The lake is just adjusant to the hotel and the lake itself is so beautiful. You could see lots of fishes and ducks swimming in the lake. The hotel is beautiful and clean, and it offers a beautiful view of the mountain. I stayed there for a business meeting. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. I'm a vegetarian, so there were not many options for snacks, and when I informed the staff, they made vegetarian sandwiches for me. At lunchtime, they made sundae specially for me because there was no vegetarian dessert available for me. Thank you so much 💓

The hotel was really great. It's a bit expensive, but worth it's money. The rooms were really tidy and clean. We had a double bed with two mattresses. The service was great. We wanted some tea in the evening and we're able to borrow a water boiler/kettle from the reception and received cups and tea bags from the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was plenty and tasty, only thing missing vegen cheese and cold cuts. The spa was great, two saunas (Finnish 90° and Bio 60°), plenty of showers, a small pool with cold water and even a snow room. The hotel provided water and tea in the spa and there extra large towels, so no need to bring the towels from the hotel room. There were a couple of rests, a couch and even a separate room just to sleep.

I stayed at this hotel while attending a professional conference. While the facilities, cleanliness, and location were all up to expectations for a 4-star property, the overall experience was disappointing — primarily due to the staff’s attitude and lack of customer-oriented service. Every interaction I had with hotel personnel (with the exception of the bar area) felt unnecessarily harsh, cold, or borderline disrespectful. It created the impression that guests were seen as inconveniences rather than customers. Some examples: • At the restaurant, when I simply wanted to order a drink, the staff’s abrupt “Was denn?” felt unnecessarily rude. • While relaxing by the lake, I was shouted at from behind the bushes with “Hier ist Privatgrund,” without anyone even asking who I was. • When ordering a triple espresso, staff commented mockingly about drinking “too much coffee” — a personal remark that felt out of place and unprofessional. In a hospitality setting, especially one aiming for a premium clientele, the tone should begin with respectful distance. Personal interaction should be led by the guest, not imposed. Additionally: • The WiFi was barely functional. • There was no in-room freezer. • While there were premium pillow options, the default ones were not comfortable for sleeping. For the price point and advertised star level, I expected a much more respectful and welcoming experience. I’d strongly encourage the hotel to send a mystery shopper to evaluate guest interactions — they might be surprised by what they find

This place is a dream. Our room was in the Mary Portman house, it was spacious, spotless clean and beautiful. We were lucky with the weather, we had a lot of snow, which made the whole area like a picture perfect Christmas movie scene. We spent 3 refreshing nights there. Food and cakes are delicious. Wellness area amazing. Outside pools in a beautiful garden with mountain views. Saunas all with breath taking views to the pine trees and mountains. Lots of rooms to rest afterwards, the beds are very comfy there, too. Just amazing. Service was very polite, friendly and helpful. Also, we were there on Nikolaus day, and we got some Nikolaus chocolate from the hotel, which was a very sweet gesture. There's a lot of things to do there, outside activities (hike, snow shoeing, etc), inside facilities (gym, game room, library, darts room, etc) Go, if you have a chance, very very recommended, we loved it there. 😍 Thanks for hosting us!!

If there is one criticism that I have for this place is that there is too much food (lol). Waw. What an amazing experience, starting from how friendly everyone is, to how incredible the facility is, the spa, the rooms, the views, the walking trails, the game rooms, the salad bar, the dinner options, and did I already mention how friendly the staff was? Certainly will come back often.

Definitely worth the price. We loved the food, room and the stunning view. Awesome spa offer. But we were not impressed by the reception work. At our arrival we didn’t get proper information about our stay and we got wrong purchases on our bill in the end. We didn’t get the offer to bring the luggage to the room. We were not greeted by hand even though all the other guests were. Not a good first impression. We saw that others got treated perfectly, so we are optimistic that we will have the best time next time we will come.

The security guard in the park was unnecessarily rude and racist. I was having a cider on the bench in the park. I am a tourist and unsure about the laws of drinking a mild cider in a public park. He told me and my wife to get out that very instant and was gritting his teeth in anger while speaking to me. I respect laws of each place but he could have spoken in a nicer way. He didn't have to be so threatening and aggressive.

One of the best places they we have been with the family. The staff is so polite. They have helped us with a lot with information and navigation. The one thing that we didn't like is the food there. A little variety for the breakfast buffet. But other than that, we will be there again.
Boyan P — Google review
I don't recommend it, never again. - customer service - no interest to help - parking (less parking spaces than rooms) - food quality - like hospital food - smell in the room - high price accommodation compared to quality reply to your reply: Hello, if you accept the critique or not, that's your business. This is my review after the experience of staying in your hotel for other visitors. I will be happy to explain more about what I was unhappy with. Yes, I came with a group from the Czech Republic, but I would strongly disassociate myself on associating with this group. I was in my room in the evening, did not drink alcohol and had nothing to do with disturbing the peace. What specifically was I not associated with? 1)The week before I visited your hotel I had surgery on my leg and arrived with canes. My question to the reception if I could get a room with a shower inside was coldly answered that it was not possible, that I should switch with someone, that it was my problem. 2)When I stopped my car near the entrance (there was no space - not enough parking spaces), the receptionist was very unpleasant and told me to park in the public parking lot a piece away from the hotel. 3)The food is a very subjective feeling but I just didn't like it, it was very tasteless. Does this sound okay to you for 5 stars? I was very angry!
Pavel K — Google review
A little bit expensive and the food is just ok… but the place is awesome and there are a lot of activities to do.
Alejandro A — Google review
Amazing service. The cook was über friendly prepared lunch and dinner menus for all types of clients- lactose- free, vegetarian, gluten-free, eggless. Breakfast and dinner menus were very delicious. We stayed with a Sindelfingen school class 6 excursion for 4 days. The employees at the front desk, the cleaning ladies' team were all very friendly and extremely helpful. Especially, when a child in wheelchair and crutches was there, personal elevator service was always available. The natural environment surrounding the youth hostel was fabulous. You could hear the creek flow, the amazingly fresh air did wonders for our skin😃. Every morning you see the beautiful mountains and have an amazing view of the nature. One star less- the bathroom in room 213 had mold in the shower area. Besides that, remember to bring in ur own hand washing soap. Atleast, for this excursion it was not included 😃. Beds were clean, beddings were spotless and clean too. The pillows and blankets were good quality.
Mahfuza H — Google review
Pretty pleasant stay. Extensive facilities; there is a volleyball court, a basketball hoop, playground for children, common area with chairs, etc. The rooms are quiet nice and clean. They offer breakfast and cheap beer and snacks. I think the place is perfect for families.

We, group of 4, stayed here in October-2009. The reception by Mr. Thomas here was warm and he provided all help in getting around. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. The bar service and morning breakfast has left us with good memories. There is quite good hotel across the main road from hostel - if you are looking for good pizzas and beer. Overall its one of the best place for budget traveller to Garmisch.

Iglu-Dorf - Zugspitze is an adventurous hotel located in a snow-sculpted igloo, offering a unique experience for travelers. With breathtaking views of Austria and Germany, the standard igloos are fairly inexpensive, starting at 119 euros per adult. Guests can even build their own igloo for a truly adventurous experience.
We didn’t stay here, but we walked around. You could either pay to see the hotel or buy a drink and walk around. It was really cool walking around. We enjoyed the chairs they had out front and the nice view. There were way less people in front of it
Jacqueline Z — Google review
An absolutely amazing experience ! We didn’t stay in the hotel but went to the igloo bar. Loved the unique feeling of being in an igloo that’s built differently every year.
Jamie — Google review
Have not yet stayed here for the night, but from the views, the smell of the fondue, the quality of the drinks and the hapinness of the people wandering inside I am sure it would be a one of a kind. If you're here for the winter and don't know where to stay while visiting the mountains, this may be your best place.
Rawad B — Google review
Great artistic place! Loads of ice carvings, sculptures and designs. You can either pay €2 or buy any drink to get in. Sauna/hot tub weren't open when we went, but would be a lovely experience here. Don't miss this out while you are heading towards Zugspitze...
Gokul K — Google review
Simply lovely. Though ours was a very short stay, it is surely an experience to discover. Lovely snow carvings, ice sculptures, great bar, sauna, hot tubs. The perfect short stay. I wish I could have also participated in building the igloo (that's for the more adventurous soul 😂) There's a church and a restaurant right outside. Also plenty skiing or sledding g opportunities right on the glacier. A must visit!!
Aditi A — Google review
We visited Iglu-Dorf while touring Zugspitze. We stepped in there to get a bit of breather after pulling the kid's toboggan for the better part of an hour. The staff was well behaved, and helpful in answering the questions about the climate and what to do at the Gletscher. The kid loved the beautiful carvings of dragon and castles on the ice walls, and I am sure it'd be a once in a lifetime experience to stay there overnight. Check out the attached video of their rooms. The staff talks good English and as a tourist, I never had trouble accessing their service. Good job!
Visakh S — Google review
Incredible experience! The artwork throughout the igloo hotel is amazing and the interior jacuzzi was a perfect end to the night! We had a terrific staff who really took care of our needs!!!

We had a blast staying overnight on the Zugspitze with Iglu-Dorf! We were a group of six friends and all shared one iglu. The entire snow structure is beautifully decorated and quite impressive. This year's theme is nature so there were plants and animals carved into the snow in each of the rooms and in the hallways. We were fed and entertained with a very informative tour, sledding, and two hot tubs and a sauna. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone, it's such a unique experience, well worth it!

A fantastic experience overall, room was clearly recently renovated and very comfortable for a summer stay, check-in/ out was easy, included breakfast was wonderful and the facility is easily navigated in both German and English. Location is a 5-10 minute walk from main train station and the hotel provides lots of information and discounts to nearby restaurants and Garmisch-Partenkirchen activities.

Stayed in a triple sharing room here with my family. It was beyond expectations and everything was very well organised. The owner and the other staff were super nice to us and made sure the stay was comfortable. The room had a beautiful view of the alps, the room and toilet were clean and all the facilities were included in the room. The breakfast too was simply amazing! Thank you and I highly recommend.

Great experience here. Room is comfortable and clean. Just note there are no elevators, so only stairs. Breakfast was fantastic, great spread. Very close to train station and totally walkable.
Yih C — Google review
Fantastic hotel with a great breakfast. Stayed here for a week and we had a great time. My favorite thing was the lobby with a fire place. Additionally, the junior suites are worth the extra money; we had a balcony with a view and a ton of space. They were very dog friendly and extremely helpful.
Matt H — Google review
We liked the location which is close to Garmish railway station and Zugpitze train station and main bus-stand, the staff was smiling and helping, the breakfast was elaborate and tummyfull, cleanliness was maintained all through. And there is a breathtaking view of mountains from this hotel... But.... No services after 7 pm being a family run hotel. E mail communication before reaching the hotel was quite curt. Our room was cramped up, no free space, sloping ceiling in room takes away space to move, no proper directions given on phone to reach the hotel( as our net on mobile was not working). But still, we must say, our stay was comfortable and relaxing.

This is one of the best places I have stayed in a long while! The staff was so helpful, attentive, and kind. They welcomed us with warm gluwine and tea before we went up to our room. They upgraded our room with no extra charge and it was beautifully updated and had a great view of the mountains. It was spotless and was cleaned everyday. The breakfast selection was amazing, too! Beautiful eating area and a very good host. Overall, this place was amazing and I highly recommend to anyone!

We stayed at this hotel for just one day, but we absolutely loved it! The room was very clean and cozy, with a balcony that offered a stunning view of the mountains — truly breathtaking. Breakfast was included, and it was served by a very kind, friendly, and talkative gentleman who made the morning even more pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay, and I will definitely come back next time for a longer visit. The location is also wonderful — peaceful, beautiful, and convenient. Thank you for the warm hospitality!

See view from the balcony! These people were beyond friendly! We stayed here for 3 nights, we left before breakfast the first morning for a hike/tour and the host asked us later that day where we were and if he would see us the next day at breakfast! The housekeeper also cleaned our room but went above and beyond organizing our clothes and the entire room! If we ever go back to this town this is a great place to stay! The breakfast food was also great! As non-German speaking the staff all spoke pretty good English as well which is very helpful! They helped to give directions and recommendations around the town too! Highly recommend, would stay again!

Gapartments Ferienwohnungen is a 5-star accommodation in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, offering stunning garden and mountain views. Conveniently located near various attractions and transportation options, the apartment provides free WiFi, private parking, and facilities for disabled guests. The modern 3-bedroom apartment, Mittergern, features a lovely patio seating area and a well-equipped kitchen. Guests appreciated the helpful hosts who provided solid advice and recommendations for exploring the area.
Everything was absolutely amazing in every sense of the word! I stayed on the first floor. The apartment includes one bedroom, a living room with a sofa, a kitchen, and a balcony with a beautiful view. There is one spacious bathroom. The place is clean, comfortable, and private. The host, Barbara, is incredibly kind. The building has an elevator for luggage and a shared laundry room in the basement, right next to the elevator. Honestly, this place deserves more than a 10/10. The only downside is that it’s a bit expensive, but it’s totally worth it. It’s also very close to the city center, just 200 meters away on foot, which is great for those without a car. There’s a pre-installed pipe for those who bring their own bidet sprayer, as the bathroom doesn’t come with one.

The owners of these apartments are wonderful people. The apartments are amazing. We had people in the apartment above us and you never heard anything. It’s in a great location and I would highly recommend staying here. If there was a scale of one to 10, I would give it a 10+

This was my second time visiting Garmisch. We stayed at Gapartments both trips and have been really pleased with it. Working with the owners has always been easy. For this most recent trip we rented 4 of the 5 units there for a large party. It was very convenient to have everyone under the same roof in a perfect location. I highly recommend!
Michael A — Google review
In fact, Barbara helped me a lot to achieve the happy trip that everyone wishes for. I don't know where to start, should I start with the cleanliness? Or the good reception and abundant explanation. But my words fail to describe my happiness.. but it is enough for you to know my enthusiasm to repeat this experience in the same place.
Khalid B — Google review
The apartment we stayed in was beautiful, clean, with lots of windows and even an outdoor deck. It is located just minutes from the train station, a supermarket and the pedestrian street. The area is quiet with mountain views. I highly recommend this place.
Joanne B — Google review
Stunning stay in a beautiful place. Great communication and so much to see and do nearby.
Megan G — Google review
This was a great base for my father, brother and I to visit the area. The views from the apartment are incredible and it is only a short walk to the pedestrian zone of the Garmisch side of town. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. We definitely had a great time and a lot of that was because of them. Their recommendations were spot on. The apartment was clean and well furnished. This is a place that I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending.

This is the most beautiful hotel I've have ever visited in my memory. The rooms are nice and clean, staff especially helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is an old stately home and is lovely. But the beauty I'm speaking of is outside every... EVERY... Window. When it rains, when it is sunny, I found breathtaking views each morning when I would wake. My absolute favorite time was eating breakfast on the terrace with the mountains for breakfast companions. I hated to leave this place to continue on my journey. Highly recommend.

The reception lady was very kind and friendly. The breakfast was stunning! Especially the atmosphere at the dining hall! and they have caffein free coffee :)

Comfortable, historic, beautiful old building. Per the manager it was a duke’s home built in approx. 1910, which was converted in the latter half of the 20th century into a hotel. We really liked the artwork, from quirky old posters to paintings to historical photos of the building. The breakfast was standard German fare of breads, cold cuts and yoghurts, but everything fresh and delicious. And the dining room has amazing woodwork! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Nice big private parking lot, and a kids play area in a fenced yard.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast excellent with a wide choice of cereals, rolls, cheeses, meats and other things. Our superior room was enormouse, comfortable and had a balcony with table and 2 chairs and side views of the mountains. Everything is spotlessly clean. Attractive garden to relax in. Ten minutes walk to restaurants and shops.

Friendly staff, efficient service and tasty breakfast with very good coffee and espresso. We booked a two room suite but second bedroom could only access the bathroom thru the first bedroom. So we booked an extra room. Also, be aware there is no elevator and our room was three flights up. There is no restaurant but many good ones are a 10 minute walk. Enjoyed great wine along with snacks in the relaxing garden.

This hotel is pretty neat, clean, friendly customer service and seems to be a family owned and operated. Will come back here again hopefully next time

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Edelweiss Garni this past August -and it was lovely. Professional and friendly staff. The room was large and comfortable and beautiful and clean. The hotel is on a quiet street but only a short walk to the very nice town district. Very affordable, too. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Our only regret with booking Hotel Edelweiss was that we didn't stay longer. Everything about it was perfect - it looked charming, the rooms were large and well maintained, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is about five minutes walk from town, through a lovely park, on a very quiet road. It has free wifi for guests, and a lovely garden in which to enjoy your breakfast or a late night drink. Highly recommended.

Loved the hotel.I recommend it highly to anyone wanting a good priced large room with all the amenities. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was awesome. This was the only place we stayed in Germany with eggs to order for a free breakfast. My only discouragement is that we did not stay longer. This hotel is a must stay for trips to Garmisch.

We stayed in the hotel for a night in first decade of May, nice country style wooden house with antique furniture, polite service and tasty breakfast with a great view of the surrounding mountains and underground parking for our rental car. Walking distance from the center we also got free tourist pass for local transportation for the time of our visit there.
Dan M — Google review
What a fantastic hotel in Garmisch-Patenkirchen and a must stay! It's such an easy drive from Munich to Garmisch and the underground parking (upon request) was greatly appreciated especially for the winter. The Hotel is perfect for the region, excellent stay that are very attentive and go above and beyond to ensure your stay is nothing short of perfect. The breakfast is excellent and the hotel as a whole is clean, warm, well appointed and very friendly. The hotel staff give great advice and different ideas on what to do in the area aside from the normal in Winter. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the town centre and the Hotel will help you make any reservations for dinner, lunch etc and even some recommendations if you don't know what you want. The Hotel is also just far enough from the main roads leading and going through Garmisch so it's very quiet and a must stay! We will definitely be back.

We had our yearly company event at Kreuzjochhaus and stayed overnight. It was an amazing experience: Incredibly beautiful location (both the surrounding Alps and the hut itself), amazing food, and a great team. Highly recommend and we will come back!

(Translated by Google) We had a wonderful time in this beautiful, very tastefully furnished luxury cabin. The location is tranquil, the ambiance relaxed and upscale – perfect for unwinding. The food was excellent: fresh, creative, and lovingly prepared. We were particularly impressed with the dinner. The service was super friendly, attentive, and unobtrusive – just right. You feel like you're in good hands right from the start. The spa area also impressed us: modern, clean, and ideal for relaxing after an active day. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We'd love to come back! Many thanks to the lovely team at the Kreuzjochhaus for the excellent organization of our offsite and the effortless adjustments to our many last-minute changes.
