Really nice hotel with gym, spa and outdoor and indoor pools. Gave it 4 starts instead of 5 due to steam room not working and bathroom being a little dated but overall great service. Location wise it’s not beach front but it’s quite central and convenient.

Great hotel! It started when we got to the hotel very early from the airport (around ten) asked for an early check-in (thinking about 1pm or 12 at best. After less than 10 minutes of waiting, they told us that our room is ready. The staff is super nice and friendly, and they helped us with our every need throughout our stay. The standard room might be a little small in American standards, but it was fine for us. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast is good, great and fresh fruits and good pastries (breakfast is a little on the sweeter side, a lot of cakes and pies). My wife and I are vegetarians so we were a little limited, but we didn't leave hungry. The hotel is not that close to the beach (15-30 minutes walk) but it's a short Uber ride away. I cannot stress enough how nice the people who work here are. I highly recommend!

Good location (not great), nice design and facilities. But in my case I got an upgraded 'executive' room, without a desk (I have to use the TV table and my legs didn't fit) and veeeery poor wifi. It has 2 swimming pools, one open air and the other part of a small warm spa. Both are very small, only suitable to play with kids for a while. The jacuzzi is OK. The gym is very small but functional, I used it successfully for 1 hour, but I was alone. We 2 or 3 people it would be unconfortable. If you need it to unstressed a hard work day, think it twice. Breakfast is OK. Products are great quality but the variety is limited. In sum, good for holidays, bad for a work travel.

This is not a "boutique" hotel in any sense. Just a small one. Rooms are very basic for the price (but Punta is a ludicrously expensive destination) and have paper thin walls, so pray your neighbours are quiet and don't watch TV. Front desk staff were offhand at best - i assume underpaid and poorly trained. Remember the room rate here is over 50% higher than a big 5* resort hotel in Hawaii or Australia....

Nowhere near a 4-star hotel, and almost everything was broken, there was no second bedside table, no robes, one shampoo for two people and apparently showering should be done by a hand soap. Not sure about the breakfast either, decided to skip it after the first time (this hotel is still playing the old hotel game of early breakfast). Heating of the hot tub is broken, as was the tap in the shower, together with the wet sauna. Bicycles are rusty and badly adjusted, mine lost it's chain 10 minutes into my ride (when I first wanted to switch gears). Staff is nowhere near as friendly as people in Uruguay usually are, all in all: places like this are the reason we usually use AirBnB.

Large and modern rooms, equipped with all the comforts, room service twice per day, excellent breakfast and cozy swimming pool. Super helpful and kind staff. A restaurant, a Spa, a private cinema (up to 6 pax) and a library complete the offer to the guests. The hotel also provide free of charge towels, sunbed/chairs and "sombrilla" for the beach. The hotel has no maintenance, has no air conditioning, all installations are very old and without any care. Is a pity for the employees who really try their best. The hotel is a two star hotel.

Bad organisation, got kicked out because of double booking without any compensation. The bathroom is not well cleaned and the drainage is not working. The breakfast is really bad, not much choice and staff rolls their eyes if you ask them something in English. Only plus is the pool and the garden. I would strongly advise against staying in that place.

The room was pretty cozy and the shower pretty modern. It is a really beautiful place, awesome pool and spa. The staff was very helpful and kind. Also, the breakfast was the best I had in Punta!! Would recommend it to anyone.

I cannot speak highly enough of l’auberge. The family room is the perfect setup for a family. The beds are super comfortable, heated floors are great for cold nights, and the showers may have the best water pressure I’ve ever experienced. Fireplace was a great place to unwind at the end of the night. The grounds are beautiful. Service was perfect. We didn’t have dinner at the restaurant, but breakfast had a nice variety of foods (coffee was probably the only place they were lacking). Walls are thin but it’s a charming old hotel and the guests here are quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

I didn’t stay at the hotel but visited for their famous tea-time waffles. This spot has been notoriously difficult for us to get into—after several attempts over the years, we either faced extremely long waits or arrived too late. This time, we came right at opening and still waited about 40 minutes for a table. The hotel itself is stunning, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. As for the waffles, they were just okay—honestly, the ones we make at home are better. The real appeal is the experience. If you’re not particularly interested in trying the "famous waffles," I’d recommend skipping them altogether and instead enjoying a coffee while exploring the beautiful grounds. For those considering staying at the hotel, it seems like an incredible place to stay, and I’m sure it would be a lovely experience. Perhaps the restaurant’s lunch or dinner options are more impressive.

One of our favorite hotel stays, ever. The grounds are beautiful, the service is excellent, and the rooms (suites, really) are perfectly set up. We loved having a fire in the evenings (we visited in winter). The breakfast was lovely, and the much-anticipated afternoon waffles were delicious. I only hope we are lucky enough to return one day!

We had a great experience. The landscape is magnificent. The quiet and peaceful ambiance is what we needed it. Being to a walking distance to the beach make our stay even better. The breakfast service was excellent, Estefanie and two more women I couldn't get their names.

The place is like a Time Machine that takes you to the 1950s and what it must’ve been like to visit Punta del Este at that time… a beautiful garden, lovely pool and rooms that are comfortable and elegant. Loved it. If there’s only one thing I could ask to improve is the wifi. The system is too complicated and not very user friendly.

Everything was very nice. The room had amazing views of the beach and the water. The Rooftop Bar was excellent. Bartenders were very entertaining the decor and The View was great. The restaurant was good and the breakfast was excellent. But what really made the hotel a five-star hotel was the service. No matter who you talk to the answer was always yes. They were always friendly and there to help you with any issue you had.

This is a mixed review. The hotel and the facilities were very clean and pretty, the rooms were nothing special. Comfortable and clean. The beach access is wonderful but that’s the best part about it. Otherwise it is in a charmless row of identical modern condo looking hotels. Theres not much around you’re better off staying somewhere closer to La Barra which is cuter. They charged us $7 USD for 2 bananas. SEVEN DOLLARS! We couldn’t get over it. When my grandma tried to leave breakfast with a piece of bread for later as she wasn’t feeling well she got chased and scolded for leaving the breakfast room with food. Compared to the other hotels in Uruguay the breakfast was decent. The hotel restaurant dinner was gross. The people working at the desk were very nice and helpful. The saunas and pools were very nice. The food and drinks at the hotel were so overpriced you feel like you’re getting taken advantage of it’s NYC and Miami pricing. Overall, nice hotel but overpriced and location has not much to offer besides beach.

Beautiful and big hotel, reception speaks proper English (which is absolutely not ‘normal’ in other hotels in Uruguay). The pool is huge and clean, same goes for the room. The breakfast is a bit poor if you ask me. From the hotel you also have access to the beach with beds and umbrella for free. The service of the beach restaurant (which also belongs to the hotel) could be improved. Staff is not very interested, don’t really smile and don’t speak English.

Excellent hotel! We were definitely satisfied their service and hospitality. Their arrangement was very fast. Our room was very clean. Their top bar was amazing view. Stayed at this hotel over the weekend and it was pretty nice. The hosts were kind, friendly people and check-in and check-out were super smooth. We had breakfast included, and there was a swimming pool, sauna, gym, and room service. The reservation process and the cost per night were accessible and easy to pay. I made my reservation via WhatsApp directly with the hotel, and it’s cheaper that way instead of using booking sites. They were super kind and fast on WhatsApp, and they offered me to pay for one night upfront and the other night at check-in. The pool was really good. We went at noon on Saturday when it was less crowded, and it was warm and big enough for us to enjoy. The sauna was great too, and there were people around to help with the temperature. I used the gym and ran on the treadmill, which worked fine. There was also water available in the gym. Our room had two beds and a big balcony, but it was too cold to use it. It would be perfect in the summer. There was a mini bar with drinks and snacks for purchase, a microwave, utensils, and everything you need if you want to eat in your room. The beds were super comfortable, and the cleaning staff did a great job. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, soap, a shower cap, lots of towels, and a bathrobe for the pool. They sell specialty coffee, which might be better. Breakfast is served between 8am and 11am, so if you get up super early or late, you might miss it. Also, the restaurant is closed because of the low season in Punta del Este, so we had to go out for lunch and dinner, even if you wanted to stay in the hotel. Being there for business, I had to go out every night to look for a place to have dinner. There is no seating for working in the room ( table and chair or desk). The hotel has no meeting/ business room. To go during summer and enjoy the beach...

Not worth it's price. I was told this used to be a great hotel but I think pandemic hit them hard. Dirty room, broken and dirty blinds, worn mattress (has shape of person in center and it's very uncomfortable). The bathroom literally smelled like a dirty communal pool. You can hear everything because the construction and furniture is just cheap. Wifi does not work, so forget about watching Netflix or anything like that. Super small tv, bad quality. Does not deserve to be 4 stars. Only giving 2 stars because the staff was very kind and attentive and because the balcony is really nice. Breakfast was ok.

Shelton Hotel is located in the heart of the city, the beaches are nearby at a walkable distance and it's located very near to the many intresting places within Punta del Este. It's a good value proposition here. However, the hotel rooms themselves might feel to be smaller, mundane and a bit unkept.

Excellent little hotel in a wealthy residential area. The rooms are modern with baths in the bedrooms (at least our room had that), the pool is nice and the hotel is very calm and quiet. The breakfast was good, although I would love to see the hotel adding some more vegan options. Overall, my partner and I had a great two night stay here.

I have been to Punta many times, so finally thought I need to test the famous Enjoy hotel. Location is great (right opposite a great stretch of beach and in proximity to many good restaurants). Room was modern, clean and appealing. Service at breakfast was a bit lackluster. Lots of gambling Brazilians in the hotel, you need to like that. Been there, done it, Moving back to The Grand Hotel, I think.

Loved the views and attention to detail from the staff. Place is clean and has a great location. Easy to walk across to the beach. The morning breakfast buffet was something I will not repeat. I love my coffee robust and my food hot and tasty. We traveled out for our morning breakfast and coffee every day after the first days experience. The plumbing in the room has issues. The front door would not close easy. Then wouldn't lock shut. Beds are ok. I did get a kick out of the croupiers. Almost forgot to mention the views from the balcony are awesome!!! Came back today a year and a half later. I forgot to mention the casino is fun and the crap dealers were awesome to chat with! Upgrading my stars!!!

My husband I just left Enjoy after being there a week. We had a wonderful time. Great pool and restaurants there. Would definitely stay there again… but would come when it is still in season so more places and amentities would be open.

Rooms are old and dirty. Even the upgraded rooms have stained carpet and old disgusting linens. They really don't clean after each guest at the restaurant either. Staff is inconsiderate and unwelcoming. Stayed twice here for the location and the indoor pool, but both stays were unpleasant. I guess they can get away with charging high prices for a sub-par hotel because of the location.

Also presentation of history, patron etc. Looked not very professional,. Only in Spanish and for many parts as it was made in power point.

Museo Ralli Punta del Este is a must see if you like the statues of Dali. The museum has quite a few of them. The rest of the collection is also really good. If you like art I can only recommend it!

The Ralli museum was a real find! Open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., it is a place that without a doubt you have to visit during your day in Punta del Este. Admission is free, and offers a large number and variety of paintings and sculptures by Latin American and world artists, including Salvador Dalí. I recommend visiting the place in daylight to better appreciate the outdoor areas. The museum has a protocol for covid and bathrooms in good condition. Totally recommendable!

Neat experience, love that it’s free! Some paintings are beautifullll, and the optical illusion metal stuff was pretty neat too. Loved the old paintings from several hundred years ago as well. Lots of nude statues outside though, the only drawback here :(

Its a must go place when you are in Punta Del este , it is a private museum but they don't charge you any fees. I had been here on 17th Dec 2017 and it was a hot day, they had given us hand fans since it was hot. The staff speaks English, Spanish and I am not sure one more language and the collection here is really good. The artwork is so tasteful

First of five Ralli museums (the others are in Chile, Israel - 2 and Spain.) Awesome collection of Dali works on display: it's hard to believe that the admission is free. You can also see beautiful tributes to Marc Chagall, Alphonse Mucha, Bruegel the Elder and others. Don't take a trip to the museum as a part of a tour as you might not have enough time. Plan to spend at least 2 hours there.

The bed is comfortable. And the staff were helpful enough. Very good time at this high-end hotel, as part of an international conference. M By registering I got a good price but the base price (> $200/night) is quite high for Uruguay (but perhaps normal for Punte del Este). Truly impeccable service, from the reception (who speaks English) to the maids and the waiters. The breakfast buffet is really not very extensive… but the seasonal fruits are appreciated. You can eat outside in front of the swimming pool. The rooms are very clean and the bedding comfortable; old furniture. There should be drinking water fountains accessible to customers in the hotel (I used the staff one…).

The hotel is placed on nice spot of punta del este, but i consider it  VERY expensive for service provided, im my oppinion it´s not adecuate for a 4 star, and segment pretended. Example: NO ligth on the bathroom and smell of tobacco on room 112. Poor attended breakfast, there is not nespresso or spresso coffee, lack of fresh fruit and you have to ask if you want scrambled eggs or omellette for breakfast (if you have to beg is not service), they have a Cook for breakfast, but they dont offer any food. Another topic, asked for an extra bed , and charged me 100usd without telling me price, or offering another room. Service level, is a 2 star, and price and target guest are 4 or 5 stars. We spend 2 nights almost all the time out of the hotel, but nobody offered us any kind of service. I will never come back to the hotel or restaurant due the lack of service, and oldfashioned not focused on costumer.

Wonderful location right in the heart of everything but still quite enough to get some rest. The rooms are very dated and mine only had one outlet... One. There were also no mini fridge and one of the window shades didn't work. The shower was great tho with a ton of space and great water pressure. The gym and jacuzzi are a joke. The gym is 3 outdated broken pieces of equipment and 2 dumbbells that aren't even the same weight. The jacuzzi is a cheap inflatable 2 person tub that has disgusting water and doesn't turn on. Great views I guess? The pool is located in the basement and seemed ok. Breakfast was hit or miss. Some days you'll have hella food with eggs and a decent selection of stuff, the other it will completely empty of anything that was there the day prior. Also the garage across the street has a nice buzzer that is loud and plays whenever a car comes and goes. At $150 a night, I'd rather look somewhere else.

Nicely designed hotel in the quiet area of the Peninsula, but still walking distance to many restaurants and bars. The reception is welcoming and so are the staff. There is a garden with a bar and a pool (nice for a dip but too short to properly lap). Our room was ‘ok’ but a bit disappointed as it was meant to be a ‘superior’ room. The biggest issue we have had during our stay is the noise: the buses frequently passing in the street were waking us up , even with ear plugs. Also the walls and doors are not thick enough and we could hear other guests.
