John Watling's Distillery, located at the 1789 Buena Vista Estate in historic downtown Nassau, is a must-visit destination for rum enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The distillery offers complimentary tours where visitors can learn about the estate's rich history and its role in Nassau rum production. Guests can also sample some of the finest rums and spirits infused with Bahamian flavors during signature tastings at the Red Turtle Tavern.
Wonderful stop on our Bahame day tour. The tour was brief, but informative. The distillery was nice, but the piña colada was exceptional! We went back for seconds, lol
Julian R — Google review
I had a great experience at John Watling’s Distillery. From the moment I stepped onto the historic property, I was immersed in the history and craftsmanship behind their rum. One of the highlights was the Piña Colada sample. It was smooth, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. It set the tone for the bar experience, where every drink was made to order. The on-site store and eatery made the visit even better. I loved being able to browse and take home a bottle of their signature rum while also enjoying some local bites. Next time, I would like to take the tour to find out more about the distilling process.
Maggie L — Google review
The John Watling's Distillery is a beautiful, historic property that’s now home to a rum distillery, coffeehouse, and small eatery for visitors. Stopped here as part of a van tour and unfortunately, the “tour” was short and rushed, with a guide who seemed disinterested (hence losing a star). Still, the colonial-era setting is lovely, and Bond fans will enjoy knowing Casino Royale filmed several key scenes here. Ends at the gift shop, of course. Recommended for a stop for rum, some island history, or 007 fans.
M — Google review
Loved this place! Free tour and tour guide was awesome, super chill, informative and concise and the ambience and staff were super friendly and answered all our questions! Worth the stop since they don’t export, and it was such a historically rich place!
Amy C — Google review
Got a great tour. Our tour guide was amazing, I think her came was Celina? Can't remember but she was awesome. The drinks were good and place is very cool.
Ryan C — Google review
This is a beautiful and historic estate. There is a lot of history behind this building. The tour is free. The distillery was very interesting but there isn't a lot of information provided on the distillery process itself. They provide a sample of puna colada which was very refreshing. There is an onsite store to purchase their products as well as to purchase food and enjoy a meal. Please note that walking to this location from downtown may lead you through neighborhoods that are not safe so be careful. The run and vodka all seemed well made.
Joseph S — Google review
Nice small distillery. Went for the store but got a sample of pina colada to try at the entrance. Ended with a bottle of rhum, still need to try it! And we got a small reduction for buying 2 bottles.

Great tour and perfect place to escape afternoon heat. Coffee shop is first class and pina colada is among the best

The Queen's Staircase in Nassau, Bahamas is a significant historical landmark consisting of 66 steps carved from limestone by African slaves in the late 18th century. This impressive staircase was constructed as a shortcut to Fort Fincastle, strategically located at the summit of Bennet's Hill to defend against potential invasions. The site holds deep historical significance, with its construction honoring Queen Victoria for her role in abolishing slavery in the Bahamas.
Well worth a stop. No admission charged though some may request payment. We did accept an offer for a narrated tour which was well worth the $10 tip we gave.
Jerry H — Google review
The Queen’s Staircase is a must see when visiting Nassau. It’s not only beautiful but also filled with history. The staircase was carved out of solid limestone in the late 1700s by enslaved people and later named in honor of Queen Victoria for her role in helping abolish slavery in the Bahamas. Walking the 66 steps feels like stepping back in time, and the lush greenery surrounding the area makes it a peaceful and scenic spot. It’s a place where history and natural beauty come together, and I’m really glad I had the chance to experience it.
Rodzilla — Google review
Great place to visit if you're in for a cruise. It's quick, educational and easy to get to. There are vendors at the top of thr staircase if you're able to climb to the top.
Alan P — Google review
Beautiful historical place near downtown Nassau with a greenery view and waterfall. Entrance is totally free, do not need to buy a tour or tickets to visit. The 64 steps are friendly to climb but if you’re looking to avoid that, you may arrive from Prison Lane>Greenwich St and just walk down. Spent about 20 minutes there, including pictures. We parked at a parking lot on Sands Rd, which supposedly costed $3 dlls but nobody was there to charge. It’s a ~7 minute walk from the port if you arrive from a cruise.
Lizbeth G — Google review
It's ok, I thought it was going to be older, more antiquated, but the stairs appear modern, like clay bricks. I'm appreciative of the experience, locals in the area makes it enjoyable too, like the lady at the top of the stairs selling beverages who was so kind with a great amount of sincerity, and the lady running the bathrooms, and the guy at the parking lot who helped me find parking (he was there on Sunday November 9th at 3pm). Beautiful locals!!! The waterfall was nicely done, with relaxing tones that enhances the surroundings.
Andy S — Google review
Nice place to visit when in downtown Nassau. It’s a short walk through the rocks with a waterfall and steps. Free entry. Signage about its history. Gets busy in the daytime but good to visit when the cruise ships have gone. Shame the old Fort nearby is closed but hopefully will be renovated soon
MattTravels S — Google review
Love this place! I have visited multiple times and I am still in awe EVERY TIME! So breathtaking! This time we almost got left because we were taking too long taking everything in. I just love the ambiance, stairs, and the waterfall! So beautiful 💛

Flea & Street Markets
Nassau Straw Market is a traditional open-air market in Nassau, Bahamas, offering a wide variety of handwoven straw crafts, Bahamian souvenirs, and tourist trinkets. Following a fire in 2001, the market was temporarily relocated but continues to thrive with dozens of vendors selling handmade wares such as straw hats, baskets, wood carvings, and seashell jewelry.
The Straw Market is a must-visit spot located right along Bay Street in downtown Nassau, just steps from the Cruise port. It is a vibrant, two-story market featuring up to 500 vendors selling straw and wooden-made goods, conch carvings, shell jewelry, local art, t-shirts, magnets, and more. Straw weaving is a long-standing Bohemian tradition that dates back to early subsistence lifestyles after World War II. Although the original open-air market was destroyed by a fire in 2001 and later impacted by Hurricane Irene, it was rebuilt in 2011 as a sturdy, air-conditioned building designed to withstand winds of up to 200 mph. Here, you'll find authentic crafts handmade by local artisans, including baskets, hats, bags, dolls, mats, wooden carvings, drums, and conch shell jewelry. Other and various souvenir items are also available for sale. Bargaining is always welcome!
The M — Google review
Nassau Straw Market is one of the most iconic spots in Nassau to explore local crafts and souvenirs. The market is full of handmade items, from straw bags and hats to vibrant jewelry and decorative pieces. It’s a lively place, with vendors showcasing the essence of Bahamian culture through their work. Walking through the aisles, you really feel immersed in the local atmosphere, and it’s a great spot to pick up something authentic to remember your trip. Perfect for anyone who enjoys discovering traditional craftsmanship.

We cruise about twice each year. Arrived morning of 11-18-2025. Previously cruised Carnival to Nassau in 2017 - not much has changed. Nassau Straw Market is what you'd expect. Fun to shop, but deals are not going to be that great. I am into watches thus I can purchase most of these watches at the same or cheaper in the U.S. I dont know if it was the Rum or the sun, but I did something I never thought I'd do. I purchased a faux Rolex at a decent price point with friendly negotiations. At the straw market and jewelry stores they do accept credit cards; however, you can get a little better deal with cash and the wifi can be spotty and you may have purchasing issues. Expect mostly normal pricing above retail then negotiations down to about normal retail. A typical t-shirt will cost $15 to $20. The quality is a $5 shirt. Look around before you buy on jewelry many of the shops are owned by the same friends or family members. Ask for the lowest price and expect negotiations. Look out for knock-offs. If your paying $500 for a genuine knock-off of $35,000 Rolex or Tag then you know what it is. Have fun and be careful. Safety tip of the day. Watch your children close the street traffic is crazy, lots of sidewalk and street trip hazards. The grandpa's and grandma's will run your butt over with the hover-round. Set an alarm 30 minutes minimum before your ship boarding time begins.
Deric W — Google review
Very busy and tight. You literally have to turn sideways to walk between vendors. You will find good souvenirs, but the vendors all sell the same things, so it gets repetitive after a while. We didn't find some unique sodas. You can haggle, which is a plus. Not for the claustrophobic. It is a place you have to visit if you're in Nassau.
Rob — Google review
I have been to the Straw Market twice when I visited Nassau by Cruise. Both times we ended up buying many souvenirs here and the vendors are open to haggling and bringing down the price. They have a great collection of magnets, wooden articles that you can inscribe your name on, clothes and bags. It is a bit overpriced compared to other places in internal Nassau but it's a good place to go to when you don't want to travel much. All vendors accept US dollars.
Neha V — Google review
The hair braiding area talked people into more & more braids leaking to $100's of dollars & sitting & waiting forever. People apparently would tie a handmade bracelet on your arm then demand cash for it 😱😱 Was told before leaving the cruise to NOT leave your party.... WELLL....
Lorna S — Google review
Decent spot to shop for items you can find online. Negotiate better prices on items you like. Better things to do in Nassau but if you want to check it out to kill some time it’s good to experience once.
Ian — Google review
Great place to get deals and souvenirs. Be sure to bargain with them cuz U can easily bring them down in price.

Nature & Parks
Parks
Clifton Heritage National Park, established in 2004, is a historical site preserving the legacies of various groups who impacted the area. The park offers diverse outdoor activities such as hiking through different ecosystems, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and bird watching. Located on New Providence Island's eastern tip, it boasts beaches like Jaws Beach and opportunities for snorkeling at the Sir Nicholas Nuttall Coral Reef Sculpture Garden.
We had the best time in Clifton, especially thanks to our driver Edmond! The national park is really nice and peaceful, we did some snorkeling and Edmond made sure we saw a lot of beaches nearby. There was almost now one else. He also explained a lot and answered all our questions. When snorkeling be aware that you have to swim out and the waves can make that quite exhausting
Tabea M — Google review
A wonderful way to support local Bahamians while learning about part of their history. Also beautiful pristine beaches, friendly and knowledgeable staff, beautiful snorkeling location. This is a low key National Park run by locals. They are very accommodating and responsive. Ms. Carla Rutherford ensures all the details are taken care of. I signed up on their website for the combination heritage tour and snorkeling with lunch and transportation provided. After tax and VAT only $120. I was picked up at 9:30 at My hotel in Atlantis. We then stopped at the cruise ship terminal and picked up a woman and her three teenage children who booked a day at the beach with lunch. Not the snorkeling and heritage tour. It took about 40 minutes to be driven to the park. We all checked in at a little welcome booth. The I was dropped at the snorkeling beach and they were taken to flipper beach. Jason was the snorkeling guide and was fantastic. There are basic changing rooms, a porta potty and simple outdoor freshwater showers. I just to go in a lifejacket as I had not snorkeled in over 10 years. They did have lots of gear including snorkeling vests. Jason had prepared a mask for me so it would not fog up. He came out in a kayak with safety equipment so he could keep an eye on the surroundings as well as the people snorkeling. He was very clear in his communication and tailored the experience to the confidence of the people snorkeling. The sculpture was beautiful and the fish fantastic. The reefs are not brightly colored but the fish were. I did not go to the sunken plane but that is also an option. You need to bring your own towel. I was then taken to Flipper beach where they have some lounge chairs and a simple structure with changing rooms and a picnic table. We were brought a tasty lunch of hot pasta with shrimp and broccoli and garlic bread and a cold bottle of water. No options were given for other choices so if you have dietary restrictions I suggest you check in advance to make sure they can be accommodated. The beach was lovely with hardly anyone there. Calm water for swimming. After lunch I was driven to the start of the Heritage tour. Tash, the tour guide was great. Very engaging and handled any of my questions easily and with grace. The tour is very interesting and really helps give context to some of the history of the country. We were then driven back so the party of four could get back on their cruise ship. I was back at Atlantis by 3 pm. A really great day
Sue N — Google review
We came on a Saturday for the deluxe Beach day, they brought us lunch & saw six people the whole day. We had the beach pretty much to ourselves. It was spectacular and beautiful. We hung out at flipper Beach most of the day. We snorkeled at Jaws Beach and paid to have our car, so we could drive around. Came back the next day, because it was so wonderful and peaceful and quiet. We saw a total of 10 people. The snorkel Beach was open, so we snorkeled and had a good time.
Stephanie H — Google review
I love it! The staff was amazing with epic customer care! I came twice, on Saturday and then again on Sunday, Nov. 9th. The grounds are well-kept and the history is amazing. It was interesting to walk along the slave huts, a short walk, so enjoyable even in the hot midday sun!. The banana hole was interesting, wished if I had gone down to enjoy the eperience a bit more. A lot of birds chirping. Take a moment to sit on one of the benches, listen to the birds and the whispering, susurrus sound of leaves for a refeshing experience

A Big, Big Thank You to Everyone at Clifton Heritage National Park! My friend and I had an absolutely amazing time at Clifton Heritage National Park, and I want to send a huge thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our visit so special. A very special shout-out to our snorkeling guide, Rico. I accidentally left my water bottle at the park, and to my surprise, he personally delivered it back to my Airbnb later that day. I didn’t expect to see it again, but he simply said, “Don’t worry, we’ll take care of it.” That small act of kindness meant so much🥹thank you, Rico! We booked our tour directly through the website. Mr. Edmond picked us up from our Airbnb and, during the drive, introduced us to Bahamian culture, city life, food, and beautiful beaches. He brought us lunch and dropped us off again at the end of the day. He was so thoughtful and kind🥰 Ms. Vernita showed us the historical side of the park. Her storytelling was powerful and brought the past to life. She spoke with such passion that it moved us emotionally. She was friendly, engaging, and always made sure we understood the culture and history, asking if we had any questions along the way. The highlight of the day🤿snorkeling—finally happened at the end. We saw the famous underwater statues we had been looking forward to. Rico guided us from his kayak, making sure we stayed on the right path. fishes swam alongside us, making the whole experience feel like a beautiful underwater adventure. It may have been because we visited on a Monday, the park was nearly empty, and we felt like we had a VIP experience.🔥 Thank you all for making our day in The Bahamas so warm, welcoming, and unforgettable. I will definitely be coming back!
Jing L — Google review
One of the best things we’ve ever done on a cruise stop! Our guide, Edmond, picked us up from the cruise port and drove us directly to the park, giving history lessons about the Bahamas and pointing out interesting sites. The drive took about 40 minutes, but filled with beautiful views. The park had a tremendous beach, Johnston Beach, where we swam in beautiful water before our guide brought us lunch. We then saw some cliffs and cool sites before our guide dropped us back off at the cruise port. A tremendous way to see much of the island and escape the crowds and tourist traps.
Carson C — Google review
We did the heritage tour. Excellent way to spend some time. We were visiting via cruise ship. Bought our tickets online directly through their website which included transportation. The only hassle was that they needed us to call them, the day of tour, when we got off ship so they could send the driver to pick us up. We did not have any mobile phone service and the free port wifi kept turning off. Not sure even if wifi worked could made contact as do not think they had a whatsapp number. The meeting place is right outside the port entrance next to water fountain which was easy to find. Luckily a nice local man at the gate let us use his phone. Via phone we were giving description of the minivan and name of driver who was picking us up. It was somewhat stressful having to make the phone call to get these details. There is no parking near the fountain but emailing the name of driver and description of van day before would have been very helpful. Edmund was our driver to and from Clifton. EDMUND WAS EXCELLENT. Very friendly and gave much local info on our drive to and from. Vernita was our tour guide at the park. Vernita was also excellent and shared her great knowledge of the park which is a former plantation. We toured some of the housing from those former enslaved on the plantation. After the approx 1 hour walking tour we were taken to the beach and given a excellent chicken, rice and mac cheese lunch. Spent about 1 hour on the beach then back to port. Entire length of the excursion was about 4 to 4 1/2 hours. This visit is highly recommended. In our group was my wife and I and another couple which Edmund picked up at a hotel. The beach is beautiful and only a couple other people there.
Phil J — Google review
The experience was great, from beginning to end. Once we debarked our ship we were greeted by a guide, at our rendezvous. We were chauffeured to the park by Edmond, who was VERY enthusiastic and entertaining. And kept us informed for the entire drive, of the development and fun facts of the island. Once at the park, I and my guest were taken to the beach, where I snorkeled, for the first time. It was a challenge but the statues and fish were beautiful to see under water. Although I was provided an underwater camera, unfortunately I didn’t receive all of the videos and photos that were taken. So I got no personal memory of the statues. Vante canoed, while I held on to the back. Once finished with the snorkeling, we were brought to a relaxing private beach, where we got to lay in the sun and was served a delicious lunch. Afterwards, we went on our heritage tour, hosted by Miss Vernita, who was super kind and knowledgeable. I like that the park is kept in its most natural state but I wish the grounds were more upkept and there were more informative, professional signage. It was a privilege to grace the grounds that the enslaved and natives took part in not only building, but permanently stapling, one of the most important parts of Nassau.

Cable Beach, located on the northern shore of New Providence in the Bahamas, is a picturesque destination with wide sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters. It's just a short taxi ride from Nassau airport, making it easily accessible for travelers. The beach offers powder-fine white sand and see-through blue-green water, providing plenty of space for visitors to relax. While relatively crowd-free now, a new resort is set to open nearby soon.
We had a great time, You will have the opportunity to buy food and drink with the same quality, at a better price later, do not buy the first drink or food package when you arrive .

Great beach! Small, calm, quiet, not full of crowds. They rent chairs for the day. Downsides: no restrooms, and no place in the beach to eat (it has very good restaurants in a walking distance).
Daniela M — Google review
Cable Beach in Nassau was absolutely beautiful! It was relatively empty, which made it even more relaxing. I would definitely recommend it — truly a dream!
Isil S — Google review
Nice, quiet, and enjoyable! Beautiful water and sand create a tranquil environment. Few people here, mostly locals, so I enjoyed it immensely!
Andy S — Google review
It’s not a bad beach but the atmosphere is not the greatest. If you are negotiating jet ski rides or beach chairs, be very careful with the guys doing it. They aren’t to be trusted.
Ricardo S — Google review
Took a cab to the beach from the port, great, clean beach from the cruise. However, the staff that rents out the chairs, tables and makes drinks will bamboozle you (blue covered canopy). Alex was great, attentive, helpful. Woman who seemed to be the boss wasn't very nice, didn't give change back ( tipped herself 10$) and was frequently yelling at others. Go, but be leary and ready to speak up for yourself.
Rachel M — Google review
We tried to go to this beach but realized that the majority of it is owned by private hotels and all inclusive a. There is one small area open to the left of Sandals but otherwise you cannot access or there is a lot of construction. I would recommend Love Beach, Goodman Park or Jaws Beach instead.
Nicole B — Google review
The water was lovely. The beach area is ample. As you enter the water there are a few drops so it gets deep quickly. The waves were very serene so you could dive into them with no risk of being tumbled. Sandals is right there so they have a small area of the water roped off. It does not in any way affect others. I still enjoyed the beach.

History Museums
The Pirates of Nassau Museum offers an immersive experience into the city's history as a pirate haven during the 18th century. Situated in Nassau, Bahamas, this museum showcases replica pirate ships and various exhibits that bring to life the Golden Age of Piracy from 1690 to 1720. The location's shallow yet navigable waters made it an ideal base for pirates to plunder merchant ships.
Pirate museum located in the centre of Nassau. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance. Not a huge place but worth the entrance fee and definitely worth checking out. Interesting and fun inside. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Michael C — Google review
This is a nice place to visit as a tourist. It's right near the cruise port and it's family friendly. It provided a lot of good information about the subject matter and was interesting. It was not a mind-blowing experience, but it was a very pleasant way for my family to be in entertained unhurried way in a nice, cool facility for a while in the midst of a hot, crowded port day in Nassau. The price is definitely far better than what you'll find with most tourist spots in the city.
David E — Google review
The Pirates of Nassau Museum is a really cool museum and well worth the visit. It’s compact but packed with fascinating exhibits that bring the golden age of piracy to life. The displays are engaging, the history is well presented, and it’s easy to explore at your own pace. Perfect for history buffs or anyone looking for a fun, educational experience in Nassau. Highly recommend stopping by!

Great educational afternoon. Perfect for any age and a nice way to learn a bit about the local pirate history. Loved checking out the flags, I had no idea there were so many. Seeing the actual size of cabins and ships was a real eye opener (spoiler, it's nothing like in the movies). Staff was friendly and helpful however the museum is self-guided. They might have offered private tours but we didn't see that.
Connie M — Google review
I was excited and had a good time, but it isn't for all. Wife n youngest ran through, 11 yr old and I walked n looked at everything. They have pirate relics, scenery, ship, but they were looking to replicate some Disney allure and I was looking for raw history. Gifts could have been more pirate, with some good stuff for sale, kinda not impressed, but I had fun nonetheless. Maybe if they had a theme party area, people could plan parties from the cruise.
Martin B — Google review
Loved the walk through of this place. Tickets were a good price for this mini adventure. Lots to see and read, take at least 45 minutes to go through this place. It had great history facts, culture, and the figures were put together very well! We got lucky we stumbled upon this place. Last walk through ends at 4:30 pm, not sure about any other days like the weekends. I didn’t want to post too many pics, you need to see it for yourself, you’ll be glad you did!!
Alexandra O — Google review
A fun self-guided tour that shares lots of interesting pirate history in Nassau. It’s an easy walk, kid-friendly, and conveniently located close to the cruise port. Took about 30-40 minutes to finish. Admission is $14 per person, which feels reasonable for the experience. Just keep in mind that there’s no parking available, so plan accordingly.

This was a great immersive experience with educational and interesting displays that made the pirate history of Nassau come alive. As a wheelchair user this place was wonderfully accessible with wide paths and gentle slopes. There is one staff operated lift in lieu of a short flight of stairs.

Arawak Cay, affectionately known as "The Fish Fry" by locals in Nassau, is a vibrant seaside strip on West Bay Street. This area was constructed from sand dredged from Nassau's Harbor in 1969 and has since become home to a variety of authentic Bahamian restaurants serving traditional island cuisine and colorful drinks. Popular spots like Twin Brothers and Goldie's Enterprises are renowned for their fried "cracked conch" and famous Sky Juice cocktail.
We were expecting more of an open market type of environment, kind of like food trucks but with stationary grills instead. It's really just a row of a ton of restaurants. But it really is the best food on the island, and at better prices than the fancy hotel restaurants or the ones downtown by the ships. Try Joey's for awesome red snapper and amazing drinks, and Frankie goes Bananas (but don't get the conch fritters there, no conch in them). But DONT MISS BRUNO'S. Best food anywhere on the island. The grilled conch stew was so filled with conch you couldn't even see the bowl. The conch fritters were filled with conch. And they have an AWESOME breakfast at the best deal on the island.

Fresh seafood and Conch salad! Enjoyed the brisk mile and a half walk from the cruise ships. Twin Brothers was closed for refurbishment. Went next door and enjoyed fresh conch salad. The neighboring restaurants are Very competitive and almost cut throat. They try to stear you into their restaurant! There are many choices to choos from with fish, seafood and fritters!

the strip is always lit especially on weekends! The conch salad is top tier, a must try! Super friendly people! 🤎

This area is a small walkable street that has several restaurants to choose from. This is a party atmosphere. There were both locals and tourists here. We were with children and I do not think I would return with them. This is better for adults.
Dori S — Google review
Amazing location if you like being amongst the locals. We ate at Twin Brothers. We ate fresh Conch salad, pulled from the shell and made right in front of our eyes. We ate outside in the beautiful weather with the locals just chatting it up and having a good time. It is just a short walk away from the cruise terminal but cabbies are waiting in droves for your business as well. Some of our fellow cruisers ate here too but did so inside with the actual restaurant and all they ate were wings. Why come to an iconic location to get wings??

Outstanding remarkable piece of history Arawak Cay has been. Great memories of fun days and nights out on the fry. No matter if be just to grab a bite or a salad or a drink or two lol. Just the bare essence of " being on the fry" is home warming. Nevertheless it caters to all ages and there's always "something to see when you aint looking!"

The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas is housed in a charming 19th-century mansion, offering a captivating display of Bahamian art and history. Situated on Cable Beach, visitors can enjoy stunning ocean views while exploring the museum's elegant exhibits. Additionally, the gallery was funded by the National Geographic Society in partnership with the National Museum of the Bahamas. This collaboration led to the creation of the Bahamas Blue Hole Expedition, an ambitious project that involved extensive dives into numerous blue holes.
Super cool contemporary art museum. I really recommend going especially if you’re tired of cruise ship conformity

It's a small gallery that used to be the home of the governor (or someone in government). There were a few exhibits when we visited. Some of the old photos were pretty cool. There were some good paintings and drawings as well. A few things, like a stack of wood, I don't consider art, but that's just MHO. We wouldn't go back though.

This was my favorite stop in Nassau. I was very impressed with the exhibition A Small Remainder of Teeth! I'm very appreciative of the artists and the messaging. Best wishes for the Bahamian people and thank you.

A fairly good sized venue. Quite an eclectic collection. Many of the same artists were represented over and over. But there were some really good works presented. Many areas did not allow photos though.
Jen L — Google review
Only the exterior grounds were open when we visited. The art walk is nice. Be aware that it is a well maintained and marked trail but pretty rugged. Wheelchairs and stroller would not work out well. There are lovely sculptures along trails. There is also a lot of trees and local Flora and fauna to view. It does seem to be a work in progress still. If doing a walking tour this should be included.

A must see when in Nassau. Very interesting art from local artists. In addition to the art indoors there is a nice outdoor section. The staff are very friendly.

The National Art Gallery is opened again. And has presented wonderfully, the art of Tampa based Bahamian artist, Kendra Frorup "The Whimsical Collector". All the gallery spaces display her wonderful work spanning a couple decades. You will enjoy this meditative and indeed whimsical collection. There is sure to be several pieces that enchant you. Highly recommend a visit. Parking on the grounds, inside the gates was available. And there's even an EV Charging Station parking spot. The entrance was free - not sure if that was for locals. Gallery staff were welcoming and pleasant. The Art Park and garden spaces were open for strolling and wandering. P.S. Based on observation, I believe EVERY Bahamian Art Gallery venue has a Junkanoo art piece at their entrances. 😀

For its small size its collection was a nice journey into a reflective story of the Bahamas. We decided to venture during a cruise ship stop over. It took us about 1 hour to get view it all at a casual pace. It seemed like everything was focused around local artist

Fort Fincastle, located on Bennet's Hill in Nassau, is a limestone fort built in 1793. It was named after British captain Lord Dunmore and designed to protect Nassau Harbour from pirates. The fort offers stunning views of Nassau, Paradise Island, and the eastern approaches to New Providence due to its location atop the highest point on the island. Although it was never used for defense as its cannons were never fired, it later served as a lighthouse.
Oh I absolutely was thrilled to death to find this historic fort built in the 1700s. Four dollars to go into the fort. It’s pretty spectacular and gives you a panoramic view of Nassau. Absolutely worth every penny. There are two other forts on the island that unfortunately I did not have time to visit, but they are on my must visit for my next time I arrive in Nassau. Make sure you wear good fitting sneakers because there’s a lot of walking and the stairs are very old. Go see the queen Staircase right next to the fort. Incredible. Google your trip before you go and make a plan so you get more bang for your buck. Do not, and I repeat, do not take the bus tour. It takes you to Atlantis, stops at a crappy beach for a couple of photo shots, takes you to places that you would have absolutely no interest in like a rum cake where you go by crap. It did take us to a rum distillery, which was pretty cool. But if you really want to explore the island either, go by foot or rent a driver and do it on your own, you’re gonna get so much more accomplished, doing it on your own. All the stores that I’ve ever visited are just a rip off
Roads P — Google review
This is a small fort with a great view. Walking from the cruise port we noticed The Queen's Stairs and after that we found Fort Fincastle. There is a $3 fee to enter the fort, which is well worth it and it helps to support the fort. Outside the fort there are lots of vendors selling drinks, food and gifts. Once inside there were four people doing drills with fake rifles. One room inside the fort had a video screen with a control panel that had four buttons for different languages that told you about the Powder Room. At the top of the fort you have a 360 degree view of the area including the cruise ship port. After visiting the fort head over to The Queen’s Stairs which is a short walk and the coolest place we visited in Nassau.
Bill L — Google review
If you've already climbed the Queen's Staircase, this spot is a must-see. Unlike the staircase, this site isn't free, there’s a small entrance fee, but the views are absolutely worth it. The fort itself isn’t very well maintained, and with a bit more care, it could definitely shine more. Still, for the panoramic views and a few bits of historical info you'll find here, it's well worth the visit.
Cirrus S — Google review
History buffs will love this landmark fort, comes complete with canons, great opportunity to see architecture from another day and age. We were very fortunate to see some young people doing military drills on the grounds, my privilege for sure. Afterward, many shopping tents right outside! Help the locals out!
Annette L — Google review
I would never visit this place unless I was already here because I was at the Queen’s staircase. It’s a place you can see everything in under five minutes. It’s very small and they charge an additional fee if you use a credit card. I felt it was not worth the money, but if you’re in the area, why not check it out
Stephen S — Google review
Nice historical spot right next to the Queen’s staircase. The fort is temporarily closed so there’s not much to see but it does have a nice view of the city.
Jose B — Google review
A neat find on Nassau, a treat to be able to explore part of the history, not just the shopping and dining. Just a couple dollars to get in, with scenic views and a hint of 1700’s military life. Worth the time away from the bustle.
Jonathan S — Google review
Great view on top of the Fort. We swing by the Fort since it's only a 3 minutes walk from Queen Stairs. Not a top destination, but worth wandering around if you are at Queen Stairs. 2 places combined only take 30 minutes anyway.

Pink Sands Beach on Harbour Island is a unique 3-mile stretch of pink sand, derived from crushed shells and coral pieces. Accessible via a two-hour ferry ride from Nassau, this world-famous beach is renowned for its distinct color created by the abundance of broken coral pieces and empty shells of foraminifera.
We loved this beach. It was beautiful, we went in April which was a perfect time, not too hot. We stayed in Eleuthera & took the water taxi ($5 pp cash) each way to harbor Island & spent the day. Town was beautiful and the sunset was gorgeous. It was a wonderful day.
Stephanie H — Google review
Calling it pink sand is really a stretch. If you’re seeing pictures of really pink sand, they are retouched or using a filter. It is a beautiful beach, but set your expectations appropriately. If you traveled a thousand miles to wade in pink sands, you’ll be disappointed.
Scott L — Google review
While visiting and exploring Harbor Island stoped at the Pink Sand Beach. A tourist area as it had more people and more places to get food and drinks. Additionally has a horse riding rental. Sand is soft and pink when wet. Water very clear and clean. Nice area to go too but more busy than other areas in Harbor Island.
Eddie U — Google review
Excellent! Crystal clear waters, warm and dreamy, Pink sands, there can be a rip current but you could spot it as it stirs the powdery sand. Be mindful that there are no life guards on duty. There was some sargassum present but some of the resorts were making efforts to cleanup (with manual labor) but overall is was gorgeous, a must see.
Paul D — Google review
Pink sand glowing like dawn. Each grain reflects coral dreams and calm. Pink Sands Beach is a love letter from nature — soft, rare, and eternal as the tide’s quiet song.
Silver G — Google review
It's beautiful but so is every other Eleuthera Atlantic Beach! I took many photos trying to capture the pink sands and you can see it in person better or the little coral specks in a handful close up. We didn't think it was worth the expense to stay there or the fuss to get on the island as we enjoyed many other Eleuthera spots equally. Attached many unedited photos without filters to see if you think beach is pink...and agree or not with my 3* rating - especially compared to any other Atlantic Eleuthera beach.
Nancy C — Google review
A gorgeous pink sand beach on Harbour Island that is quite long. It benefits from having the resorts being up above the beach rather than being in the beach. Additionally there are not a bunch of chairs and umbrellas on the beach, but some so that guests can enjoy the beach. Very beautiful and a great place to enjoy the water and the amenities of Harbour Island. In sure the resorts are fairly costly, but a day trip from the main island of Eleuthera is doable.

Just a magnificent beach! Words can’t describe the vibe this beach gives. The sand is so nice and soft and easy to walk for hours on that beach. A gem to check out if you made it this far to Eleuthera

Visitors can purchase an Atlantis Aquaventure package for all-day access to the pools, beaches, and the expansive water park.
The water slides are so much fun! It's the first exciting river I've been on! It's like a lazy river but exciting with rapids and twists and turns. Not only were there pools and rides but beaches and nice walks. 10 out 10 I would come back and have just as much fun again.
Robert C — Google review
Our cruise line stopped at the Bahamas and one of the options to enjoy in Nassau was the day trip to Atlantis. What a treat! My wife and I had our honeymoon in the Bahamas and we're only able to stop by and view Atlantis from afar but never able to enjoy the well run water park called the Aqua venture. What an awesome water park!! I highly recommend spending a day at Atlantis Aqua venture and enjoying the thrilling rides, the absolutely awesome lazy river, as well as enjoying the pools. For lunch we enjoyed burgers at the Shake Shack and loved our meal. Seats are plentiful and it does get warm to a little hot after 12 so I recommend bringing water proof sandals or aqua shoes as the ground does get hot. One of the best water parks in the world at Atlantis Aqua venture and I can easily award 5 stars for this outstanding water park.
Brian H — Google review
Really fun experience but not worth the over $300 day pass for 2 non-hotel guests. Did not get any pictures of the pool, slides, or kids-splash pad, but all were maintained well and clean. Also an amazing area to walk around and see the beauty of the resort as well.
Justin — Google review
Don’t come Things are closed for 3 days not sure why we spent nights staying in this property but they closed their major attractions for 3 consecutive days. It is understandable attraction closed during tropical storm but 2 days after Leap of faith and other bucket list items are closed without notifying guests are absurd and irresponsible
Wanson L — Google review
Not cheapest place to go but was worth going . Managed to take own refreshments which helped. Long lazy river and plenty to see and do with the aquariums aswell
Jonathan T — Google review
What an exhilarating experience! The water slides are incredibly fun—imagine a lazy river transformed with exciting rapids, twists, and turns. It's the first thrilling river ride I've ever been on, and it completely redefined my idea of a water adventure. Beyond the slides, the park impresses with a fantastic mix of pools, rides, beaches, and scenic walking paths. I’d give it a solid 10/10 and would definitely come back for more fun. A little tip: it can get pretty crowded when the cruise ships are in port. For shorter wait times on most rides, try visiting either after 3 PM or before 10 AM. My favorite attractions were the Drop and the Challenger—true highlights of the day. Plus, don’t miss the other pools and aquariums; there’s plenty to explore and enjoy. A must-visit spot for anyone looking to blend thrilling rides with beautiful scenery!
Clayton C — Google review
Aquadventure was the whole reason our son wanted to come to the Bahamas. He wanted to take the Leap of Faith and did so over 20 times. The tube slide that goes through the shark tank is also nice. The rapids river is amazing and a lot of fun. The tower of power slides rotated from being open to being closed during the time we were there. Overall, it was everything our 15 year old son was looking for.
Jason S — Google review
We stayed at the property and were able to walk into the water park both days. There were lines for a few things but rest was easy to get to. One issue we had was, for the large expanse of the water park the hot tub space was extremely small.

Junkanoo Beach, also known as the Western Esplanade, is a vibrant beach in Nassau named after the annual Bahamian parade. While some locals may argue that it doesn't match the tranquility of Paradise Islands beaches, it's the most convenient for cruise visitors and offers various amenities. The Tiki Bikini Hut on the beach is popular for its party atmosphere and tempting drink specials.
The water is superb, the sandy beach is a perfect spot to spend the day. Of you keep walking more to the end of the beach it is less crowded with less people trying selling you atuff. 10 minutes walk from the cruise port.
Lior O — Google review
This is a popular free beach because it is so close to the cruise ship terminals and it is an easy walk along Bay St. It is full of vendors selling beverages and other things. The water is clear but the beach is rocky and overall dirty. Local vendors can be aggressive about selling on this beach. There are beach chair and umbrella rentals offered. Loud music is played so it's not peaceful and relaxing. Move further down and it is quieter but not cleaner.
Joseph S — Google review
Very nice public beach that is a ~20 minutes walk from the cruise port. There are a few vendors renting chairs or offering drinks, but I didn't buy anything from them. If you walk to the right, you can find a quieter spot with less vendors, but unless you rent a chair, it's hard to find a spot to sit on.
Tyra B — Google review
Beautiful spot in Nassau! Spent the some time at Junkanoo Beach and it was absolutely amazing. The weather was perfect — partly cloudy with a nice breeze — and it wasn’t too crowded at all. The water was crystal clear and that beautiful shade of Bahamian blue you see in photos. Great place to relax, enjoy the views, and soak up the island vibe. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Nassau! 🌴☀️🇧🇸

You should come here at nights too, so enjoyable!

Lucayan National Park is a must-visit destination in the Bahamas, offering a diverse range of ecosystems and natural wonders. Spanning 40 acres, this park features expansive beaches, sand dunes, mangrove swamps, and lush forests of palm and pine trees. It is home to one of the world's longest underwater cave systems, providing an unparalleled diving experience for visitors.
It is pretty inside the caves, the water is so clear and bright blue, swimming not allowed. The park is small but has flora and fauna to take a look at, which is why the 11 dollars entry fee is well worth it. Once you're done, make your way by walking across the highway and mangrove swamp to the amazing Gold Rock Beach, takes only about 10-15 minutes on the well marked path.

If you are into the beach and nature, you will enjoy this place. There are two caves you can walk down to , and when you finish, you walk across the street to this breathtaking beach. We fell in love immediately. Also, pirates of the Caribbean were filmed here. We found lots or coral, and when the tide is out, the marks you can see in the sand from the waves were pretty neat. Put this place on your bucket list when you come to freeport.

Excellent hike with unique geology. Can be difficult to climb down in some areas. If you have the ability to view, this is a really different experience off the beaten path that harnesses the beauty of the natural environment. Budget Friendly (only $11/pp). Lots of signage. Easy parking. Some garbage cans along the way. Bathrooms do not have plumbing or running water, however the 'pit' was fairly clean and they did have hand sanitizer. It has a fully gravel path, but would not recommend it for someone who has difficulty walking.

Idyllic. Peaceful, calm, beautiful natural environment. Lucayan National Park is a beautiful place to hike, explore or relax. It is a little bit of a hike to get to the beach but worth it. Bring everything you need because it is pretty remote. I think my favorite thing was relaxing on the beach listening to the waves and feeling like we were the only people on earth.

Beautiful caves ! Well worth the trip from cruise port. Park on dirt road to the right, before park entrance and access boardwalkway to avoid the ridiculous 11$pp fee. Bathrooms are horrendous latrines, you're better off using the bushes. Apparently the 11$ pp doesn't go towards much needed upkeep. No swimming in cave, but scuba is permitted with a permit. Cave is similar to Devils Den in Florida, enjoy 😉 👍

Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas is a massive hotel complex with various accommodation options, including family-friendly rooms at The Coral, water-side villas at Harborside Resort, and adults-only accommodations at The Cove. The recently renovated east tower of The Royal offers contemporary furnishings and ocean-inspired colors. With 3,400 rooms, Atlantis is a must-visit destination in the Bahamas, featuring a vast waterscape of lagoons, aquariums, and waterfalls.
Very nice hotel - went beginning of May, the weather was very hot, there’s many restaurants to chose from: the breakfast we did the buffet every morning, just easier, but dinners at all the different restaurants were bomb - Nobu and the Italian definitely top choices. Dinners can be expensive, lunch was relatively affordable, but there are many options for both. You can walk the underground aquarium under Atlantis all the way to the beach from the hotel. There’s plenty of bars, live entertainment and a casino for adults. Lots of shops, lots to see, the kids loved it, we definitely enjoyed our stay and recommend to anyone that visits the Bahamas. Very beautiful hotel. Lots of walking. There’s a gym too. The pool area for kids has an entire playground which was awesome the kids really loved it. The beach didn’t have umbrellas, the beach chairs have canopy’s but not all the beach chairs have canopy’s so if you need shade best get there early and get the chairs with the canopy. The hotel was super clean and really had everything for the entire family to enjoy, they also had giants sized games for kids and adults by the pool. Not to mention the giant pyramids slide.

Wow what a resort. Went with my wife and 2 kids (age 7 and 3). So much to do and the waterpark is amazing. The beaches are stunning, clear blue water and white sand. Got super lucky as we saw small turtles and fish so close to the beach. Really is paradise. Just opposite the hotel through Marina Village is a port for travelling and Margaritaville for alternative food options and souvenirs which are cheaper than those at Marina Village also it has a nice view of the harbour. As many have stated previously it is quite expensive to eat but was to be expected. The water bottles they give out were super useful. The staff at Poseidon and the cafe next to it were so nice. We would alternate between the 2 for breakfast. One tip, when someone offers you a drink on the beach, as nice as the drinks are haggle the price first ! Learnt that the hardway. Stayed at the Royal West Wing. Views were nice and the rooms are spacious.
Jaswinder G — Google review
I was there as part of a large conference the first week of November. Overall, the resort itself is fun but the service is VERY POOR. I would not go back. The resort is very shady in terms of their business dealings, they are constantly trying to prompt you for a tip when everything already had a 15% auto gratuity. They would say things like "Press the green button to NOT tip". It was a very sneaky tactic, and I'm not surprised at all. Our group of over 300 people spent over 7 figures for 3 days of conference, our company gave us gift cards of $600/couple and my business partner who was sitting next to me in Silan was told he could not use his gift card because the system was down. We were there for lunch on Thursday November 6th at around 1 PM. This was a complete lie, as the gift cards are run through the debit/credit machine terminals. The young man serving us with the dreadlocks basically lied, I chimed in and told him I had been to Silan 3 days in a row and have used my gift cards every day. He took it to the manager who proceeded to giving me a lot of attitude. In addition, they charged me for a coke and a panna water that I DID NOT RECEIVE OR ORDER. I made them take $15 off the bill, then they gave me more attitude. I have made it very apparent to our event manager that we should not return to Atlantis, as this resort is run by very sneaky individuals trying to rip off their guests.

The animal programs are good. The photos are a scam and the photographers are absolutely horrible, no way they're professionals. I mean it's comically bad, the camera settings, angles, backgrounds, timing, as an artist it's a joke. Everything is obscenely prices but we knew that. Sunday night I was subjected to the booming bass of a wedding dance party on the center of the complex. Imagine the decision by management to piss off several thousand guests for the sake of a hundred. Instead of the waterfalls and waves we got a disco night club shaking the windows into the night. My noise canceling headphones were not enough. The hotel I stayed in was air conditioned to about 60F for several days, no exaggeration, a meat locker. Overall most places are frigid at Atlantis, but that was like a dare getting to your room. The shower and sink water smells like sewage. Best thing about this place is all of the probably way underpaid staff. They're all impossibly nice. I just wish management was on the ball.
John D — Google review
I loved it , it is iconic but as a single solo traveler, it was a bit too noisy with families and kids everywhere. Lines for restaurants create jams even when you are just walking by. What I really didn’t like is the cigarettes in the casino. To walk through the casino if it rains to get to the other side you have to go through the smoke. Otherwise it is lovely view and wast I liked the most is the experiences as I got to walk with sharks in their aquarium and enjoyed the activities and the beach is lovely.
Hanan B — Google review
I just finished a solo stay at Atlantis and wanted to share an honest review for anyone considering it — especially fellow solo travelers. The property itself is undeniably beautiful. The views, the marina, and the grounds are stunning, and a few staff members truly stood out with exceptional service. I enjoyed walking the Marina Village and had great experiences at Nobu. That said, for the price point, the overall quality didn’t match what I expected. I stayed in The Royal, and maybe that was my mistake and I should’ve booked The Cove, but the cost here is extremely high for the level of service you receive. I didn’t consistently feel welcomed, and there wasn’t the level of hospitality I’ve experienced at other resorts in this price range. As a big José Andrés fan (I’m checking off all his restaurants), I was genuinely disappointed that the experience at FISH was the first time one of his restaurants didn’t impress. Breakfast options throughout the resort also felt limited. One thing I didn’t see mentioned clearly in reviews is the overall vibe: it feels like a very expensive place where families bring their kids for the pools/waterpark during the day and adults head off to gamble at night. And if you’re not at the waterpark, most of the alternative activities involve gambling, drinking, or paying premium prices for activities. I also wish I had known how disconnected the resort feels from the true culture and atmosphere of the Bahamas. Until I walked out to the beach and saw the ocean, I honestly wouldn’t have known I was in the Bahamas at all besides the employees, the resort experience is very contained and commercial. I feel like I would’ve had a better, more authentic overall experience if I had stayed somewhere with a more local feel that showcased the Bahamas beyond the resort walls. Finally, on my third day, right before checking out, I was told I was supposedly “VIP,” but no one ever explained what that meant or what benefits came with it, so I didn’t receive or use any perks. Overall, it was a decent trip, but the value-to-cost ratio and the inconsistent service weren’t what I expected for the price. The scenery is beautiful and there are some great moments to be had, but I hope this helps offer a clearer picture for anyone deciding whether Atlantis is the right fit for them.

Very nice. Staff are extremely friendly. Lots of stores and very family oriented. Just an FYI expect to pay resort prices for everything but overall worth the trip. I would recommend and look forward to a return visit.
Rob A — Google review
Will not be going back to this property even though the kids love it. Some of the staff are nice but several were ambivalent and showed no interest in their job or in the guests. Some food is affordable but a lot of it is overpriced - a side order of spinach is $26 at Carmine’s. Mixed green salad is $39. Buffet was only open 7am - 12 noon for our entire stay. Booked the Barbie room and it was “lipstick on a pig”. The Barbie suites are literally in the basement and the room smelled moldy. Hot water was never hot. We asked for them to fix it but they didn’t. Elevator was broken for 2 days. No amenities in room - had to request them and had to ask for basics like shampoo. Landscapers woke us up at 6:45 am with weed eaters. Tried to order coffee in the morning and was told it would take 45 minutes to 1 hour for coffee only. Got verbally assaulted by two guests for over 5 minutes and there was no security to be found. A Manager called them and it took 15 minutes for them to show up. Booked a $450 dolphin experience for 2 and they told us there was no photographer that day. Said they would compensate us by allowing me to stand on the beach and take my own pictures - a $35 value. 🤔 Just a terribly managed property all around. Way better places to vacation, especially for the price.

Thunderball Grotto, located on Staniel Cay in the Exumas, is a renowned snorkeling and scuba diving destination that gained fame for its appearance in James Bond films. The underwater maze features cave ceilings with holes allowing sunlight to shine through and reflect off the water. While experienced snorkelers can easily navigate the grotto, it's advisable for novices to visit during low tide. This spot offers vibrant marine life including octopus, stingrays, and tropical fish.
This was an awesome experience. It was a very nice day and the water temp was perfect. Make sure to be aware of your surroundings the current is strong.
Skyy K — Google review
Truly a special place to do some snorkeling! The light coming in from above the grotto gives the water extra clarity so that you can see around, but more importantly, see the fish that will come up to you and harmlessly nibble! If high tide, you will have to dive under to get inside; low tide, you can swim in with your head above water. Strong currents come & go, so if not a strong swimmer, make sure you have a capable swimmer with you. A "must do" while in the Exumas!
Nancy S — Google review
What an amazing experience! We can't wait to do this again .
Maggie S — Google review
A must - ripping current depending on when you go though. Definitely don't be too cool for the guide ropes; even an experienced diver can get rolled in the washing machine current and lose their way.
Norseman S — Google review
This place was very cool. We could see the moon through the hole in the top of the cave. The sunset lighting was amazing and the water was very calm. We were lucky that it was not crowded either!
Eric H — Google review
This is an legendary place near Staniel Cay. The James Bond film for which the grotto was named and several others movies were filmed here. There are a few entrances to the grotto, all of which require swimming, some underwater. Once inside, the grotto is spectacular. There are lots of fish in the corners and crevices. Make sure to explore the smaller but more beautiful grotto on the Southwest corner of the main grotto. Try to visit in the late afternoon once the tourists have left. Thunderball grotto must not be missed when visiting the Exumas.
Danny R — Google review
Great snorkeling spot, needs to be explored at a low weak tide. Amazing sea life and colourful coral. A very busy popular spot with tourists, but worth the stop at the grotto.
Lydia C — Google review
This place is amazing. We actually struggled at first to find the way in as we went at nearly high tide, but then some people popped up at the side of us and it all became apparent. Once inside it is fantastic. More fish than I have ever seen. Strongly recommend fins as the current is strong getting from the boat to the rock.

Bar
Tiki Bikini Hut is a vibrant bar located at Junkanoo Beach, near Downtown Nassau and the cruise line docks in The Bahamas. It offers an energetic atmosphere where visitors can savor drinks and food, including the popular conch fritters. The seating extends to the beach, providing stunning views of the ocean and cruise ships.
Great vibe. Right on the beach. Delicious conch fritters! Lovely people. We will be back. Come enjoy some layerd back chill.

Located on the seafront next to junkanoo beach. Came for a bite to eat and drink. Got a nice table facing the toilet block.Service wasn't the quickest, be prepared to wait to both order and receive your food. Great choice of dishes but the food was expensive and nothing amazing.
Michael C — Google review
I want to start by saying that this review is more about pricing than the overall experience. I visited this spot while on a cruise to Nassau after seeing it recommended on TikTok. The hut, located on Junkanoo Beach, had an amazing vibe, and my server Rina was absolutely wonderful. We first sat outside on the beach, but when a storm rolled in, we moved inside to continue celebrating. The atmosphere was lively, with food, drinks, a DJ, and my personal favorite, hookah. We ordered hookah, which was listed on the menu as $50. I gave $60, planning for $10 to go toward Rina’s tip. However, when no change came back, I was told the cost was actually $60, “including taxes.” Knowing the math didn’t quite add up, I asked for clarification. Rina quickly brought over a manager, who explained that the $60 covered not just taxes but also gratuity. After that was cleared up, I felt much better. For anyone visiting, keep in mind that the Bahamas charges a 10% VAT tax, and many places automatically include a 15% gratuity, which raises the final bill. I’d also recommend asking for a printed bill so you know exactly what you’re paying for. Despite the mix-up, the service was excellent. Rina was friendly, attentive, and even joined in my birthday celebration (we’re both Virgos!). Fenji also checked on my party to make sure everything was good, and I can’t forget the amazing Aunties both in the restaurant and on the beach who added to the welcoming vibe. If you visit, definitely ask for Rina—and buy her a birthday drink on 9/17! I look forward to returning soon.

ROACHES AND RATS I gave a one-star for atmosphere since there was no cleanliness category to choose from. The customer service nice and food was ok, but while sitting there having a very nice conversation with others from Los Angeles, Scotland and Florida we saw a pretty big rat run by and one of the other customers saw a pretty big Roach which was on his arm. The whole restaurant is outside on the sand so you're either going to need to accept the fact that you're going to need to share the restaurant with the bugs and the roaches or not go. The restaurant Personnel did not seem fazed by it but we will not be back.
Chautauqua O — Google review
The food that we did get was great. The main issue we had was with the service. Our order was incorrect and one person in my party never received their food. Asked for help several times, but our waiter was the bartender and never came to assist us.
Sigma 3 — Google review
Very nice beach and atmosphere was incredible but the beach sales people are sharks 🦈 changing the price of stuff as soon as they get what they want they leave you . A girl in a pink bucket hat tried to hustle me make you agreement and give money plus tip first they still tried to get more it cost me 56 dollars for 6 wings and a burger. Because they try to get you to tip twice . Great place but full of crooked sales men .
Justin V — Google review
I found this place on Google just looking for places close to our hotel (Margaritaville). It had great reviews, so we decided to try it. I LOVED it!!! We went about 6 pm on a Monday, and there were plenty of tables, and we were seated promptly! I ordered the coconut shrimp and the rice and peas. Both were amazing! The coconut shrimp was the best I've eaten anywhere. My husband had the island burger and enjoyed it. He felt the patty was really big...almost too big. But he said it was flavorful! The staff was great and I'd love to come back!!

Paradise Island is a tropical escape known for its massive resort, golf course, and stunning white-sand beaches. The Marina Village at the Atlantis Resort houses Cafe Martinique, an elegant restaurant with a nod to the 1965 James Bond movie Thunderball. This fine dining establishment offers French cuisine with tropical influences and local ingredients. The resort has evolved over time into a popular destination for adults due to its large gambling facilities and focus on marine life conservation.
Paradise Island is clean, quiet neighborhoods, cabbage beach is very close, 10 min walking, you can enjoy being around than Nassau downtown

I absolutely love Paradise Island, and I especially miss Cabbage Beach. The moment you step onto the soft white sand and see that stunning turquoise water, it takes your breath away. I’ve never seen a beach so beautiful and clear — it honestly looks unreal. Even though once you’re in the water it feels like regular spring water, the view from the shore is unforgettable. The way the sun hits the ocean makes the whole beach glow with different shades of blue. It’s something you have to see in person to believe. We’re already planning our second trip back because we know there’s more of the island we haven’t explored yet. There’s just something peaceful and special about this place — it stays with you even after you leave.

Overpriced Overrated So commercial like a zoo Nothing paradise about this resort high prices Buffet dinner $64 a person and that doesn't include 10% tax and 15% tip in price not included Shake shake easy $100 that's only few burgers and fries. Biggest rip off vacation spot ever been to. As soon as I checked out no more Internet access literally check out 11am by 11:04am couldn't even log in and for high prices very sad and embarrassing for Paradise to have to access when you are still at the resort for a few more hours. Horrible resort literally highway robbery Nothing was accommodating you pay for everything except for water park passes come with resort fee. They even charge for gym, paddle boarding $40 and mini golf $45 a person kids $25 these activities are at no cost to the resort. The Royal tower hotel was disgusting as furniture was rusty conditions old, shower heads nasty and mold even in bathroom shower. No refills of shampoos Needs a remodel for price you are being charged it's a ripoff The 15% tip automatically in everything is horrible so service isnt great as they are automatically getting that 15% so they don't care about their services. Beaches nothing great about them, Rocky as hell such big rocks and they constantly closed it. No towels on one of my 6 days after 1pm how are you supposed to swim or dry yourself unacceptable period. Overpriced hotel with nothing accommodating to guests everything is extra cost for everything. I'd never go back could of went on 2-3 vacations with that prices all being all inclusives. Lots of poverty driving back to airport sad maybe they should use ripping off customers with extremely high prices and help the poor. It's like you leave golden gates to see ppl lined up to get feed at kitchens or wheelchair person sleeping on the ground saw this with my own eyes. And you scratch your head going what the charge ppl at this resort is humanly disgusting.

Words do not describe how beautiful this place is, no matter where you go, what street you are on the vegetation is just beautiful! Locals are super nice, everything seems to be $$ but that was expected. We visited Cabbage Beach. Also, make sure you have cash on you. We struggled with finding an ATM that actually worked.

One of thee best experiences of OUR LIVES! If you ever get the the change to go,GO! I spent a week in the Bahamas, and it wasn't enough time to get through all of the towers. Atlantis is beautiful. We stayed in the Coral tower. We plan on going back and staying in all the towers(total 4-7). The staff was very friendly. The food is delicious. Just be aware of VAT=value added tax in addition to the 15% gratuity AUTOMATICALLY added to every meal. All in all, it was AMAZING!

Great if you're rich or just want to come for a day to sightsee. Very beautiful island, however, I would not stay here again since it's so cut off from the main land. You have to get here by ferry or taxi so be prepared to spend. Very pretty clear water.

Blue Holes National Park, situated on the stunning Andros Island in The Bahamas, is a captivating destination renowned for its remarkable underwater sinkholes known as blue holes. This expansive park spans over 40,000 acres and features around 50 of these unique formations created by the collapse of limestone caves. Visitors can immerse themselves in this natural wonder through snorkeling or diving adventures that reveal vibrant ecosystems beneath the surface.
Our group visited the Gardens and Butterfly Garden close to the resort. The gardens are beautiful and offer a variety of garden styles and plants to enjoy. The butterfly garden is not large, but there was a good variety of butterflies in abundant numbers. It was lots of fun to try to catch that perfect photo! This is a lovely spot if you want to get away from the city for a while. This was our first visit so we didn’t know what to expect. I saw on the map that there was a butterfly garden and was surprised to find a large garden area also. It wasn’t nearly as busy as the animal viewing area so it really makes for a good change of pace.

Clean, well kept national park. The pavilion and pathways are well kept. The Bahamas National Trust has done an excellent job of making these blue holes accessible and accommodating to both locals and visitors alike. Make sure you jump in the blue hole!

Absolutely amazing experience. Did not explore the park too much, however the information boards scattered around were very interesting and informative. Port Lucaya Marketplace is a vibrant outdoor venue in Freeport, attracting day-trippers from cruise ships and avid shoppers. It offers a variety of shops selling clothing, crafts, souvenirs, and name-brand goods from around the world. Visitors can also explore the Bahamas Maritime Museum located within the marketplace, showcasing artifacts recovered from the Spanish galleon Nuestra Senora de las Maravillas.
Port Lucaya in Freeport is a lively and colorful marketplace that's perfect for picking up souvenirs and experiencing a bit of local culture. It's a mix of small shops, friendly vendors, and restaurants serving up traditional Bahamian fare and fresh seafood. You’ll find everything from handcrafted goods and t-shirts to island-inspired jewelry and artwork. It’s a great place to browse, take your time, and chat with the locals. There are also several restaurants and bars around the square, offering delicious Bahamian dishes, including conch, grilled fish, and other fresh seafood. It’s a great spot to grab a bite and enjoy the relaxed island vibe. The best day to visit is definitely Wednesday, when around 95% of the vendors are open. Earlier in the week, many stalls can be closed or have limited hours, so plan accordingly to get the full experience. Overall, Port Lucaya is a fun and laid-back place to shop, eat, and soak up a bit of Bahamian charm.

When I was there, it was pretty dead. I probably saw about 5 other people. I know that the cruise ships have excursions there, so that's hopeful. I got a delicious spinach pie from Zorba's. I even went back the next day for another one. I got a great smoothie from Bateman's, it was great! Also went back the next day for another one. I got some candy at the popcorn shop, and some little souvenirs from various vendors. I got 2 super soft t-shirts from Pea & Roy. They had beautiful dresses and outfits. Overall, I would return. It was kind of nice having the whole place to myself. The museum wasn't free, so I didn't do that.

The straw market is like any other straw market. If you seen one you have seen them all. All the saler are selling the exact same thing. It's cool if you just want to walk around and people watch and see what they are offering at there little store
Latoya H — Google review
Way out of the way (20 minutes from cruise port, $40 ride round trip with taxi), and across the street from an abandoned hotel. hardly any stores open on Sunday, and if you want to hit the beach you have to walk a couple thousand feet down the street and then behind the police station and a factory and you have to climb over some sea rocks just to get to the beach. Not easy especially for the elderly. The shops basically had souvenir type stuff.
Roland K — Google review
Port Lucaya Marketplace has a bunch of vendors, but the shopkeepers are very pushy. After just visiting one shop, I didn't feel comfortable going into any other ones due to the pressure to purchase. We did have some conch & fritters at Daddy Brown's Conch Stand - so yummy! Bootleg Chocolates is worth visiting too. Their chocolate is delicious!
Ariana G — Google review
I travel often so this marketplace was no different than other islands. There are no ATMs. You have to go to the abandoned hotel across the street. Seriously, they have security just for the atm. The most diverse marketplace for food or tied with Puerto Rico. As soon as I smelled and saw the oxtail I was ready. Sold out by 11:30 to locals. So if you want soul food make it brunch time. If the ferry worked from the Taino (5 mins and free), I would've had lunch or dinner there everyday. Heard there's a tremendous fish fry on wed about a mile down the road

Ardastra Gardens & Wildlife Conservation Centre is a unique destination in the Bahamas, serving as both a zoo and a wildlife conservation center. Originally established to protect the endangered flamingo population, it now houses over 130 species of wildlife, including pink flamingoes, wildcats, native rodents, and various tropical birds. Visitors can enjoy hand-feeding lories and witnessing the famous daily flamingo parade where these elegant birds march in unison on command.
This was great. How could anyone not love it? It's perfect for a day when you're all beached out. There's a ton of shade, you walk through at your own leisure, and there's so much to see. I went to the Bahamas in January of this year and am now trying to get caught up posting my pictures of various places with reviews. I would recommend anyone visiting Nassau to checkout this well-kept conservatory as a point of interest. I found it to be a very charming, tranquil garden, that is filled with lush greenery, vibrant flowers, exotic birds and other animals that I did not post pictures of. 😀 You have to go see for yourself!

Cannot rave about this place enough. They made my daughter experience so magical, she had the time of her life meeting all the animals, our guide was so knowledgeable and knew every animals name and even had a bond with them that you could tell came from great care. She went above and beyond to make my daughters experience unforgettable. My heart goes out to them, I know how difficult it is to get enough funding as a rescue and add to it their gift shop was damaged from the hurricane, yet they still all greeted us and gave us an amazing Halloween experience!

This place has some cool animals but could use some others. Overall its okay if you’re just looking for something to do with family or kids. You'd have to look really closely to see the birds in my photos.
Keva L — Google review
Disappointing and Concerning Visit I left Ardastra Gardens feeling deeply troubled. Many of the animals did not appear well cared for. I just keep thinking about this poor parrot sitting in its own feces, with broken perches lying inside the enclosure. In that same habitat, the bird was screaming nonstop, and I noticed loose screws that could easily injure him. It was heartbreaking. Right next to him, another parrot was nearly attacking visitors and clearly seemed distressed by the presence of the Disney Cruise Line group. It really makes you wonder how Disney can support a facility where animals are left in their own excrement and exposed to such poor conditions. No one was there to speak with us or offer any information. It seems like the staff only focus on large tour groups, which must be their priority, but if you come on your own, you’re left completely on your own and very poorly welcomed. Also, the waiver at the entrance makes no sense. They ask you to fill it out, but no one checks the names or verifies anything anyway. Even the flamingo show, which could have been charming, felt chaotic. If you pay close attention, the zookeeper seemed unsure of what he was doing. He was chasing the birds around rather than guiding them calmly. This is not a conservation center. It does not reflect genuine care or respect for the animals. I cannot recommend supporting this place. Very disappointing.
Hannah R — Google review
This was one of our off resort adventures. Took a taxi from Atlantis to this location. Again, had a great conversation with our driver and learned a lot about the area as she drove us there. The location was great. Lots of birds to see as well as some other animals. My wife held a snake something she never thought she would do. We took pictures with the flamingos after they did their marching show. We learned a lot about many of the birds. Lots of great interactions.

Cabbage Beach, located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, is a popular destination known for its resort-adjacent white-sand stretch. The beach offers opportunities for walking, swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. It stretches for 3 miles along the north side of the island and extends beyond Atlantis' property. Visitors can enjoy various water sports such as parasailing, snorkeling, and personal watercraft rentals provided by private concessionaires.
Absolutely gorgeous beach, with soft white sand and clear, bright blue water. We walked all the way to the far east end, which has a wide area with plenty of space and great views.

This beach was amazing the water was super clear and light blue. The parking was a bit weird at first as you have to drive up a tiny rocky ramp to get in but it’s worth it. The waves were also a lot of fun to jump into.

Absolutely beautiful beach. Crystal clear warm water and soft sand. The downside is that as soon as you step foot onto the beach you get bombarded by groups of guys trying to get you to rent the beach chairs and umbrella. One guy got mad at me when I said we were only staying for a few minutes. Another guy tried to intimidate us by placing a family right next to our stuff.
D J — Google review
Fantastic beach. There are 2 public beach access. We used the one close to RIU hotel and walked a bit further east and had the entire beach to ourselves (sep 2025). Crystal clear turquoise water and white coral sand. You will be asked to rent sunchairs and umbrellas on arrival, but it's really expensive ($30) so if you really want it you can ask politely for a better price. We walked there from our hotel (Warwick) and it was a 15 min walk.
Tomas K — Google review
Absolutely beautiful beach — a hidden gem! Cabbage Beach is stunning — soft white sand, crystal clear turquoise water. It wasn’t too crowded when we went, and the views were just incredible. We didn’t even plan to swim — we just took a walk to check out the beach because it’s near our Cruise. But once we saw how gorgeous and inviting the water was, we couldn’t resist! We ended up jumping in even though we didn’t bring swimsuits. Honestly, it would’ve been a huge regret to leave without feeling the water here — it’s that beautiful. This is, in my opinion, the clearest and most beautiful beach in the world. I still can’t believe how insanely clear the water was — it looked just like regular drinking water, only salty! Unreal. There are some local vendors offering drinks and jet ski rentals — some are a bit persistent, but mostly friendly. Just a heads-up: bring your own towels, snacks, and shade if you plan to stay for a while, as amenities are limited. We are coming back this June — that’s how much I loved it. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Nassau — this beach is truly unforgettable!

I am staying at a near by hotel on the port side and they have a shuttle to this beach. There are many vendors and independent taxi owners trying to get you to pay for their services. I said no thank you to all and made it to the beach for free. On the left there is a few hotels and the Atlantis hotel so I walked right and found a gorgeous stretch of beach with NO CROWDS. I put my towel down and stayed in the water for hours. Clean and quickly deep, eyes open for marine life. Spectacular. No washrooms. No restaurants. Short visit but worth every second.

Garden of the Groves is a 12-acre botanical garden located in Grand Bahama, offering a lush tropical escape from the island's typical landscape. Visitors can wander through manicured gardens, tamarind and java plum tree groves, and enjoy views from a hilltop chapel. The garden features a limestone labyrinth for meditative walks and a raccoon habitat for kids to explore.
Absolutely beautiful! The people were so friendly and inviting, everyone had a smile. Fried conch was really good! The "trail" was paved which made it easier for my mom to walk. There are a few big steps but worth it. Definitely will go back.

Such a lovely, tranquil place!! It's so quiet and relaxing, the gardens are beautiful and the people are so friendly! There are ducks and turtles and fish everywhere in the ponds, and the cafe was great for lunch! The meditation labyrinth was very cool, and casually wandering around the paths was a lovely way to spend the afternoon!

Garden of the Groves is a must-visit when you're in Freeport! The scenery is absolutely beautiful—lush, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing or taking pictures. But what really made the visit special was the amazing food and the incredible staff. The food was fresh, flavorful, and way better than we expected for a garden café. Everything tasted homemade and delicious. The employees were so welcoming and kind—they made us feel right at home and took great care of us throughout the visit.

It was pretty not a lot of people Guess it was on offseason which was great. The animals were nice to look at and the spiders were pretty cool and I love the turtles and the weird chickens. The waterfalls were pretty but the water was a little muddy or dirty looking. Other than that it was a good experience.
Mordekhai M — Google review
It's a lovely diversion from spending the day in Port. Definitely worth seeing if you're a fan of tropical flora. Relaxing waterfalls trickle near ancient trees. Flowers everywhere....even beautiful during the off season! $17 entrance fee. Bathrooms on site. Guided tour extra. Wear good shoes and watch your step! Bring your camera! Overall, a delightful way to remember this beautiful corner of the Bahamas.
Laura H — Google review
Lots of potential to connect with nature and experience the Bahamian environment. Enjoyed the turtles and birds. Would have loved to see more people there, better cared gardens, engaging cultural activities, more about the history and culture of the Bahamas. The garden's staff and kiosk owners were kind and helpful, beautiful people with lots of knowledge to share. There was a stray dog who followed us through some of the aquaphonics part of the trails (this part of the park seemed a little unkept). It was a little unsettling since the dog seemed to be very thirsty and we didn't see any collar or potential owner nearby.
W. M — Google review
What a beautiful garden! It's relatively small but has a lot of character. There are ponds with fish, turtles, and ducks in them. You can have delicious lunch by the water and watch the stray cats walk around the area (but don't feed them!). Other notable mentions are that the bathrooms are clean and staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. I went with the tour guide Marilyn who had a plethora of information about the garden and was a great storyteller.

Such a lovely garden to visit. I loved the labyrinth. I walked it and then worked through each of the 6 petals of the center rose. Was so peaceful. I enjoyed the statue of St. Francis. He's my favorite Saint. Loved seeing the beautiful trees and flowers.

Arawak Cay, also known as "The Fish Fry," is a vibrant dining area in Nassau, Bahamas. It features a colorful row of Bahamian restaurants and food stands offering a variety of local dishes such as conch salad, scorched conch, conch fritters, cracked conch, and conch chowder.
We always enjoy going to a local place. This was a place we found 7 years ago on our honeymoon. When we recently took a cruise and had a port at Nassau, we knew we had to go find it again and remanence. The place has had a face lift and some remodeling done. The owner even went out of his way to get us some Guava Duff, a must try with in Nassau. We also enjoyed the couch salad, very spicy, asked for the spice on the side. Do miss this friendly and welcoming place with excellent food. We will see you again hopefully soon.

We found Jerry at the Fish Fry Street, a place home to more than 50 establishments that offer incredible food, specializing in seafood. It’s difficult to choose the best spot; some are well-known and celebrated, while others are more modest. However, all of them are fantastic, and none would dare to claim they are the best.
The M — Google review
Our experience at The Fish Fry was absolutely terrible. We waited over two hours just to receive our food, and when it finally arrived, half of our orders were incorrect. The service was shockingly poor — our host and waitress were unhelpful, inattentive, and to make matters worse, we were overcharged on our bill. This place came highly recommended by the taxi drivers who brought us to the area, but the whole thing felt like a set-up. Not only did the restaurant overcharge us, but the taxi drivers also tried to change the price they originally quoted us for the ride. It seemed like a coordinated effort to take advantage of tourists. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Save your time, money, and patience — go elsewhere.

It was our second visit back to Nassau. This trip we came by cruise. We took a taxi to Curly's for the whole snapper and seafood platter. The nassau grouper is enough for me to return yearly. Then we walked down to the beach. We were given free chairs to sit in with a purchase of a drink. O'neill with a taxi service was dropping people off and offered us a ride back. His van had air and he was alot friendlier than the first driver. The first driver didn't talk and charged more. $28 there $20 back. Walking would have been good if we didn't have children. I definitely would recommend a trip to the fish fry. You can even rent jet skis and go on banana boat rides here.
Amanda R — Google review
They had nice crisp air inside. The food was mid though. I got a fried lobster tail. The perk wings were not "pan chicken" it was cooked in the kitchen and just sauced. No smoked flavor.
Monica K — Google review
Food was okay. But the fish was filled with bones - making it hard to eat or enjoy. Flavour was great tho! Service was good too - but waited 45 min for our food. So don’t go hungry! We did get to see some turkeys and manatee! That made it an experience!

Great grilled fish sandwich. I also had the grilled plantains and recommend both. Sandwich was served with fries Our server was excellent and Wesley had recommendations for us.

The food was not good at all. Our waiter did not understand the assignment and bought us three different meals. Charged me $2 for a water I never received. Charged us for an extra $18 dinner that was not was ordered. The conch fritters were not good. The Cole slaw and brown rice with red beans in it was good.

Gold Rock Beach is a well-known and beautiful destination located in Lucayan National Park, just 25 miles from Freeport. The beach boasts expansive low-tide shorelines, turquoise waters, and golden sands that have made it famous as a filming location for Pirates of the Caribbean. Despite its popularity, the beach offers a serene getaway with on-site amenities such as BBQ pits and picnic tables nestled within a 40-acre oasis of mangrove, palm, and pine trees.
It's one of the prettiest beaches I've ever seen. Check the tide chart so you can watch the tide go out. It's absolutely gorgeous!

The beach goes on a long way so you won't run out of space, no restaurants or shops but the peace and quiet makes the beach feel special, the water is bright blue. They say it's the best beach on Grand Bahama, I agree!

Gorgeous remote beach. Clearest waters and felt like a private island when we were there. Very peaceful and gorgeous. We brought our own chairs, umbrella, Drinks and snacks to spend the day there. Absolutely beautiful!!

Alright. This is probably the clean and beautiful water have been in. the softness of the sand is mind blowing. The overall landscape is a gem.
Yannick T — Google review
When I say this is beautiful, it’s an understatement!! The water is so clear and pristine. I was so happy we came here. I would love to rent a car next time and just go back and spend the day here. This is where Johnny Depp came for the filing of some of the Pirates of the Caribbean. There is also a quite a little walk on boardwalk through the mangrove to get to the beach, so wanted to throw that out there Incase someone can’t walk as far. I had ankle surgery and I was having a hard time walking it. A local man is on the beach and rent outs chairs and umbrellas incase anyone doesn’t want to sit in the sand.
Meagan G — Google review
We found this fantastic beach after touring the Lucayan National Park. You walk across the road from the parking lot and walk down an elevated wooden walkway to the ocean. This is the best beach we have ever visited. The ocean is calm and you can walk out several hundred yards in the gradually sloping beach on the white sand beach. If you didn't bring an umbrella or drinks, there is a private vendor who rents umbrellas and lounge chairs and sells drinks and food. We noticed a dirt road entrance after the park entrance which you could park for free and walk to the walkway. We would do this if we returned. However, there is no bathroom on the beach so you might want to pay at the park to use their bathroom and park safely in their lot. We didn't drive further down the road, but believe the beaches further to the east would be just as excellent if you can find a public entrance to the beach. I recommend renting a car and visiting this amazing hidden gem. The beaches along the east end are much better than those to the west end of the island.

Wonderful iconic beach where Pirates Of The Caribbean Dead Man's Chest was filmed. Make sure you park at the Lucaya National Park building. It is currently $11 a person and you get to see some cool caves too. Beach is pristine!

Fort Charlotte, the largest and most captivating of the Bahamas' forts, was constructed in the late 18th century during British colonial rule. Named after Queen Charlotte, it stands as a testament to the island's strategic significance and military prowess. The fortress features a drawbridge, waterless moat, underground passages, dungeons, and ramparts. It is part of a sprawling military complex that includes Fort Stanley and Fort DArcy.
If you would like to know apart of our history in the Bahamas, you should visit. I am born and raised here and didn't know that Fort Charlotte is 3 forts in one. The history is amazing, go and check out the hand written carvings in the walls. I was amazed with the calligraphy they had back then. Truly some place to check out
Anita C — Google review
This fort is located further away from the busy downtown and business area with the cruise terminal. It is accessible by walking down Bay St and then past Junkanoo beach and turning left on Marcus Bethel Rd. However, this area can be unsafe so be careful. When we arrived, we didn't understand the nature of the fort. We paid $5.50 per person and then a tour guide showed us the small outpost and the three other large forts further up the hill. The tour guide was extremely personable and had a lot of knowledge. He made sure we saw all the major sites and historic displays. The fort itself is poorly kept. The displays and signage could be improved greatly. I like history so this was in my wheelhouse but the kids were bored by seeing a lot of stone walls. There is a straw market type area right nearby and the tour guide did talk it up quite a bit. However we were never pressured to go in. There were hardly any visitors while we were there. The view from up there was impressive.
Joseph S — Google review
This is a small fort compared to others you can see in the Caribbean. It was relatively cheap to get in, $16 total for two adults and one child. We basically saw everything in about 35-40 minutes. The biggest disappointment for me was the lack of period items. Cannons are new/restored, only original thing I remember is a well. Not much to see with that. Views from the fort are pretty. Worth the visit if you like history, but definitely not a mandatory stop.
Joey H — Google review
Nice historical site to visit. You don't have to buy tickets. It's a free tour. You just walk in and walk around or somebody will tell you to give them a few bucks and they'll give you a tour. If you got time on your tour, go check it out!

This is a great fort! A free guided tour is included and the history of this 200 year old fort is quite interesting! I highly recommend it 👌 👍

Fort Charlotte is a fascinating historic site and one of Nassau’s must-visit landmarks. The fort is well-preserved, with thick walls, cannons, and underground passages that give a real sense of its history. Climbing to the top offers breathtaking panoramic views of Nassau, the harbor, and the surrounding coastline. The site is spacious and peaceful, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace while learning about Bahamian colonial history. Walking around Fort Charlotte feels like stepping back in time, making it both educational and visually impressive.
Caleb H — Google review
I enjoy d walking around Fort Charlotte with a he tour guide.
Herley L — Google review
We hired a local guide for a tour of the island and it was well worth it because the fort was closed when we showed up but he talked to the ladies at the entrance and they opened the fort up for us. We felt bad for being the only ones there so we were quick to go through it but the staff was informative, there was quite a bit to explore compared to Fort Fincastle, and the view of downtown was decent. If you have to pick a fort while in Nassau, this should be your stop. The parking lot if up a bit of a hill and there are souvenir huts right at the parking lot but we were able to get some good deals on conch shells.

Glass Window Bridge, located in Eleuthera, Bahamas, is a man-made bridge that replaced a natural arch destroyed by hurricanes. It spans only 30 feet and is famously known as the narrowest place on Earth. The bridge offers breathtaking views of the stark contrast between the dark blue Atlantic Ocean and the turquoise Bight of Eleuthera. This iconic landmark serves as a reminder of nature's destructive power and showcases the stunning diversity of the surrounding landscapes.
Wonderful view, watching the sea from both sides 😁. The cool wind and the view were amazing.

What a true wonder in Eleuthera. The glass window bridge joins the Atlantic with the Caribbean Sea. Seeing the dark blue waters of the Atlantic and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Some went down on the side of the bridge to see the seas coming together. If visiting Eleuthera most likely you will pass the bridge at some point so stop and enjoy this true wonder of the seas meeting.

As a pilot flying private charters to the Bahamas every day, there are a few truly majestic spots that always stand out above the rest — the Glass Window Bridge in Eleuthera is definitely one of them. Every time we fly over, it’s a reminder of just how crazy beautiful this place is. You’ve got the deep blue Atlantic Ocean crashing on the one side and the calm, clear aqua green Caribbean waters on the other — separated by just a little sliver land. From the air, it looks like mother nature painted a line right down the middle. If you book a private charter to Eleuthera Bahamas with Air flight Charters be sure to ask if there’s time for an aerial flyby of this natural wonder. We love giving our passengers a view of the Glass Window Bridge from above. ❤️✈️🇧🇸🏝️ Team Air Flight Charters

This spot is a must see wonder when visiting Eleuthera! Take caution with traffic and don’t visit on a windy day.
Colleen V — Google review
This was very cool to see! The deep blue surf of the Atlantic juxtaposed with the light blue of the tropical sea is spectacular! The bridge used to be a natural arch until a hurricane took it out. It was replaced by the concrete bridge standing now. I climbed onto one of the cliffs to get a better vantage point. There is parking but be careful of the traffic!
Preston B — Google review
Simply a wonder to see. The Atlantic on one side, dark blue, waves crashing against the rocks, coupled with the calm turquoise of the Caribbean on the other. A must to stop and get some pictures
Brandon T — Google review
This is my favorite in Eleuthera. I love to pass on this bridge. I always end up in awe with the magnificent Atlantic Ocean and the calmer beautiful Carribean sea on the other side. The difference in color between the two seas is mesmerizing. You will never get tired of the scenery. It is considered the narrowest place on planet Earth. You can park your car near it. Recommended to drive at sunrise or sunset and take videos or pictures. Everyone visiting Eleuthera needs to visit this bridge. There is also a natural geyser near it that you can visit as well. If going North, you can check the geyser first. Queens Bath (left side if driving south) and other attractions are near the Glass window so check any sign while driving.

Government House is the official residence of The Bahamas governor-general, representing England's monarch since 1801. This stately pink-and-white neoclassical building on Duke Street showcases a blend of Bahamian-British and American colonial architecture. With its graceful columns, circular drive, conch-shell-pink color, white quoins, and louvered wooden shutters, it reflects typical Bahamian style while also featuring elements reminiscent of Virginia or the Carolinas.

If you are visiting now in December 2021, do not go here as they are renovating and you will not have access to go inside. I think the place would be rich in history but the guard there was kind enough to tell us they were not open. The people are so friendly.
Arjun S — Google review
I must be missing something cause what i saw was just another abandoned building in serious need of a paint job. The whole area around the Government House was run down with grounds unkept, public utilities jury rigged to work (light poles, electrical boxes) ripped open, exposed wires. Streets filled with potholes and most"stores" if not selling either t-shirts or jewelery were abandoned. Obama must be the mayor, makes sense all of a sudden.

This Pompey Museum is dedicated to the history of slavery in The Bahamas and the effect it had on both the slave population and Bahamian culture. It has exhibits that tell the story of slaves and their revolt against their masters, as well as an examination of the impact of slavery on Bahamian society today. There is a small entrance fee for visitors to visit, but it's worth it for any insight into Bahamian history you may gain.
Extremely instructive and interactive. Wonderful small museum about slavery and Bahamas history, I wish more people would pay it a visit, it truly deserves it and for a minimal price (5.50$), which for Nassau prices it’s literally nothing. Highly recommend!

Informative museum with good context for the history of the country at a good price. I had 30 minutes and got through most of it, but I would say leave 45 minutes to see the whole floor.

There's alot of Bahamian island history and knowledge packed in this small place. The story of the island is told objectively. There are artistic visualizations, audio and video stories. Whether a local or just passing through on vacation, it's well worth the small price to preserve the history.

This museum is a must see in Nassau. The bottom half gives you established history and the top half gives you a glimpse at older artifacts and practices of the Lucayans prior to settlement. Upstairs and downstairs are two exhibits and the pricing is vague, so their posters need updating. Also it's round the corner from the straw museum and not too far a walk from the Queen's staircase and Fort.

Nestled in the heart of Downtown Nassau, the Heritage Museum of The Bahamas offers a captivating glimpse into the rich tapestry of Bahamian history. Housed within the beautifully restored Mountbatten House, once a summer retreat for Lord Louis Mountbatten, this compact museum showcases an impressive collection of artifacts, costumes, and local goods that span from prehistoric times to modern-day.
Probably not what a lot of people think about on a trip to the Bahamas. We had a rainy day to fill and wandered this direction. The museum has a nice collection with both more modern mixed media and historical photos and depictions of the island. There are both indoor and outdoor installations.

Very nice museum to learn about the Bahamas. A main criticism is that it was boiling hot inside!!! As if the AC was put on heating it was unbearable. Also the audio guide was batchy, better if you bring your own headphones.
Alfahad91 — Google review
The museum is small in structure but jammed packed with the wonders, mysteries, treasures and history of The Bahamas. The tour takes you on a walk through time with real life artifacts and models dating back hundreds of years. I wish they would one day include a dress up photo both with the Victorian area. A great activity for locals and tourists alike.

I had a booking at 10 and there was a slight confusion as no one was there, but I head across the street to the hotel, they made some phone calls and got someone over there. There was a slight delay as they got things set up, but they ran across the street to get me a chocolate drink to do right by me for the delay and confusion.

Small, intimate venue, but packed with interesting stuff. One of our favorite sites visited during our trip. It's part of the Graycliff site, and they apparently funded the set up and maintenance. It has an eclectic collection of Bahamian memorabilia. Highly recommended.

Not having A/C inside and no description tags on artifacts means that the management of this museum totally don't care about the visitors. Having one of the most expensive tickets in this area I think they can allow to get an A/C installed. Also absence of the description tags means that the museum administration forcing you to pay for the audio tours. To get an extra profit on you. I will skip this museum.

We had been to Nassau 2 times before and never saw this little place. But we are so glad we walked by this last trip. Awesome museum! We took the audio tour, takes 30-40 minutes and you walk out he whole place guided by an audio device they provide you at the entrance. It is a huge tool to understand what you are, and guide you through history. This is a must see place. From the cruise port you get there in a short walking. We recommend this museum to every Nassau visitor.

Prince George Wharf is a bustling cruise terminal in Nassau, Paradise Island, where numerous cruise ships dock. The terminal consists of three long piers with berthing spaces for up to eight ships. Despite the large number of docks, the proximity between them allows for easy access. However, the area can get crowded with passengers, so it's advisable to stay together with your group.
Built for tourists and is fenced off with security away from the street. You can leave but it gets hectic. The shops are typical touristy shops but they are a lot less pushy than if you went to the Straw Market. For those who have been Starbucks deprived your in luck there’s on in this area!

Day and Night! The old cruise ship wharf did not reflect the beauty of the Bahamas. This rebuild is spectacular, an absolutely stunning entry to New Providence Island. Came to Nassau on the Disney Wish and had a great experience onshore especially at the Lukka Kairi waterfront bar next to Senior’ Frogs. On the way back to the ship I talked to one of the dock workers name Arthur Johnson…..probably the best conversation, and most informative I have ever had. I initially was just asking about a departure time of a Royal Caribbean ship next to the Wish, but Mr. Johnson not only talked about that but in a short 5 minute conversation gave me and my wife a plethora of info about all of the ships and how they dock and depart. We also found out he had worked at his job for 48 years!! Needless to say talking with Mr. Johnson was an absolute joy. The Wharf has a great man in Arthur Johnson and he truly made our trip to Nassau that much more memorable.
Tom H — Google review
The refresh of the Nassau cruise port did improve it greatly from a comfort standpoint with coverings on many of the walkways leading from the ships and wider paths and a safer feel where the vendors are. However that doesn’t change why many folks don’t get off the ships - there really isn’t anything interesting to do here that can’t be found in better and cheaper forms in any other cruise stop.

Beautiful island hit hard by COVID. No banks there anymore and the one ATM in North Andros was vandalized. Struggling communities and businesses. Most stores and restaurants only accept cash, if they are even open for business. No hospital on island, stay vigilant when out.

Absolutely beautiful! The waters are breathtakingly beautiful shades of blue and green. Only accessible by boat and well worth the planning to get here. Many trails and snorkeling spots to explore.

We experienced the park on a 42-foot catamaran. The water is pristine and you will never see such beautiful turquoise colors! We snorkeled and paddle boarded and explored some of the uninhabited cays. We spent about 4 days in the park. Absolutely breathtaking. This area is only accessible by boat.

Very beautiful place to visit. They do not have wifi and barely any cell service. Had to hike up the hill to the very top to get very little cell service. But, there's really no need for service because of the beauty it holds. If you go on a dinghy ride south of the visitor center, there is spot where there is this cave or tunnel. If you hit it at the right time and tide, it's a great spot for diving and body surfing. But have to be safe. Awesome place! Oh, and you might stumble across treasure hunts. (Only clue I'll give)

My favorite place in the Bahamas! Be sure to follow park protocols when visiting. All mooring balls are by assignment only and anchoring is only allowed in designated areas.

Incredible water! You can drift With your dinghy just outside the rock cut and see spotted eagle rays beneath you. The opportunity of a lifetime! Highly recommended. Watch for turtles!

Nice visitor center. Hopefully someday they will get a dive shop with rental equipment. The whale bones are neat. The employees are nice. The view is gorgeous. They had some neat rock Iguana shirts, I would have bought my dad one if they had his size, but they were out and not ordering more. I was interested in a visor from the land and sea park. The ones available weren't very cool and they were too small for my head. I suggest an additional style of visor.

We went for the pig roast, and we were not disappointed! The food was excellent! The beach was amazing, and you're able to feed the stingrays as they swim by! We took Elvis's water taxi over and enjoyed half the day at Chat N Chill and the surrounding beach. Drinks were cold, and the food was great! Lots of photo opportunities as well.

If you love stingrays and have always dreamed of feeding them, this is the right place for you. You can get some conch and feed them in an area of the beach. You may have to walk down to see it! There are about five stingrays and they are gentle and massive!!

$20 Mai thai n daquaris. They do have plenty of family things to do, just not like swimming with dolphins like sea world or zoo experiences. $200 each with under 3 free for pig experience. I prefer bacon, cheaper, tastier. They have flamingos, swim experience with animals, kids blue dot pool, food n drinks on the beach. This time of year wasn't hard to score beach chairs n umbrella with towels for 4. Water a little cooler, but 10 min in and it's perfect. Double up on sunscreen. They have a casino, but with 2 younger girls so no idea if they have a good payout. We spent the day at the beach.

Valet said 25 to park and you can come back in less then 24hrs.free. said we will take a look then go out to dinner then come back. Gave 5 dollar tip. Leaving and then said you can't come back unless you give me another 25 to park. So that says it all about this place.

Great Casino! Machines pay much better compared to competitors on Paradise Island. The Casino setup is much nicer as well with more ATM's and ticket cash out machines which made it much easier to cash in my ticket winnings for cash. Very well planned with up to date machines and games with higher RTP. I highly recommend this Casino for those who actually want to win money and not just hear noise!

I would have played much longer on the craps tables if it weren’t for CHESTER. CHESTER is one of the craps dealers/pitbosses, but CHESTER is extremely rude to guests. CHESTER actively talks about guests as they play and mocks them when they celebrate a win. Now I know why every craps table besides the one CHESTER works is full. His is always empty. CHESTER is definitely costing the casino money with his poor attitude and mistreatment of guests. I’d consider not coming back to the hotel based on this unchecked guest abuse.

Potters Cay is a hidden gem in Nassau, located under the bridge connecting Nassau to Paradise Island. This local hotspot offers an authentic Bahamian experience with its lively fresh produce market and conch shacks serving up delectable dishes. Visitors can witness the preparation of fresh conch salad, a must-try local delicacy, as vendors skillfully dice the conch and vegetables before squeezing fresh lime over the top.
Visited here & took a friend to the Dock to deliver a package for the boat. I didn't get a chance to sample food from the restaurants, so I just stood on the water's edge & enjoyed the sea breeze. Police personnel patrolled regularly so the environment was pretty safe. Will probably go back to sit outside & dine.

Christ Church Anglican Cathedral, located in Downtown Nassau, is a stunning Gothic stone church dating back to 1841. It is the state church of The Bahamas and holds the distinction of being one of the oldest congregations in the country, with roots tracing back to the 1670s. The cathedral's locally-quarried limestone construction, complemented by mahogany ceilings and granite-tile floors, showcases remarkable colonial architecture.
This is an amazing and beautiful church. The architecture is astounding as it was added on to 4 complete times since it was established in 1670 over 300 years ago. The ornate woodwork and exquisite stained glass windows are something to behold and don't get me started on the pews as you just don't see this kind of love and craftsmanship put into anything anymore. Whether you believe in God or not (I for sure do) you should just go see the love and work put into this amazing church. The pastor lady was super gracious and kind taking time from her day to talk to me and have a tiny bit of fellowship while giving me some of the low down on the history of such a beautiful place. Pictures are worth a thousand words so I've included a few. Just astounding what humankind can do with their mind, heart, and hands. I consider myself truly blessed to have seen this place and imagine how many souls have been saved as they still hold services and have since 1670 just so beautiful to ponder.
John S — Google review

What a beautiful cathedral. The Christ Church Anglacan Chathedral is beautiful. The stained glass on each of the windows is astonishing. For being an older church, this looks like it's been loved. There is a restoration project under way, but it does not detract from the beauty of this place. The ceiling and organ were exquisite as well. Well worth a look if you are in the area.

Fun for the entire family (if you have a boat to get here) for 30 minutes or so. It’s great to feed the pigs, play with them, and maybe rub their bellies in the sand. They love being fed and sometimes will follow you out into the surf to eat. Usually, they bring out just the baby pigs - unless there is a large group of tourists, and then they unleash the big ones.
Jay C — Google review
Cool place to swim with the pigs. It’s a lot more convenient than going to the original location in the Exuma‘s. Be prepared to pay the locals that claim this is their own spot and they are pigs. Make sure you don’t turn your back on the pigs. While we were here, I saw the big pig, take out one of the employees when his back was turned to him. Stay in the water and that is your best bet.

The Nassau Public Library, originally constructed as a jail in the late 18th century, has a rich history and unique architecture. The building's design included individual cells with windows for ventilation. Since its conversion to a library in 1873, the former prison cells now house an extensive collection of books, colonial documents, artifacts, and historic prints.
Looks like a cool spot but unfortunately closed to the public for some construction. Check out the other library near a school in town if you want a local public library.

Sandy Toes, Bahamas is a quintessential beach bar located on Rose Island, just a short 30-minute boat ride from Nassau. The secluded tropical island offers crystal clear waters for snorkeling and the chance to interact with nine resident pigs. Visitors can enjoy a private beach, delicious drinks and lunch, swimming with the adorable pigs, and even spot countless peacocks on the island. The experience is described as clean, uncrowded, and beautifully set up.
It was my first solo trip and I had the best time of my life ever. The beach is amazing 😻 food was great and staff was awesome! I plan on going back very soon . Everyone was kind and welcoming I have so many amazing videos and pictures. I recommend!!
Lola T — Google review
The boat ride was absolutely cramped, the employees were not very kind. Cody screamed a lot. It gave me anxiety and kept me anxious all day. The snorkeling was over crowed and we kept getting kicked with fins. The bartenders were incredibly rude and seemed bothered when we order - especially for our children. You had to walk up from the beach to get drinks - 6 oz drinks at a time. The lunch was okay - but nothing to brag on. The nicest people were the ladies with the animals. The male staff members clearly did not enjoy their job. Our family of 5 was very disappointed and couldn’t wait to leave. Again, to many people, it’s not real swimming with pigs like advertised. We truly felt scammed.

We had an amazing experience at Sandy Toes! The boat ride there and back is a good time. Snorkeling tour was outstanding- we saw lots of fish. The beach was gorgeous- white sand, turquoise water- great for swimming. Lounge chairs with shade. The pigs (and peacocks, chickens, goats) were really unique and fun. Well trained and seemed well cared for. We swam with them and fed them at scheduled times when the staff brought them out. The bar with unlimited drinks was delicious, as was the lunch. Hammocks, volleyball and outdoor games. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Showers and lockers available. Small group of people which made the experience nice and relaxing. Best part of the trip, and one of the best experiences of my life!

This was the most awesome side trip we made. While this was NOT a cruise excursion, we decided to venture out on our own. The staff was very professional and personal. They love to joke around while providing excellent service. As a leg amputee it was challenging with the island not being very ADA friendly but I managed very well with their help. I advise bringing your own snorkel if possible. Plenty of shade for those fair sinked like myself. I promise you will not be disappointed. For those worried about getting back to your ship in time, we had ABSOLUTELY no issues because they stick to a very strict schedule and taxis were lined up at the dock to transport us back to the cruise port. A++++

About a 20 minute boat ride from Atlantis. The workers on Sandy Toes were polite & very good about taking pictures while having the pigs do tricks. I thought there would have been more pigs out at once but it was a good crowd. I thought the pigs would have been in the water more.

If you’re planning to swim with the pigs in the Bahamas — don’t try to save a few bucks and go with a lower-grade operator. You’ll be sorry you did! Sandy Toes is hands-down the best tour to Rose Island and offers an incredible experience from start to finish, with a knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely caring team. ****Most importantly, the pigs are SO well loved and cared for — you can really see the difference!!****The facilities are beautiful, the beach is stunning, and the lunch was absolutely delicious. And it’s not just pigs on a beach — there’s something for everyone! Peacocks, snorkeling, games, tubes — fun for families with young kids (ours were in heaven!) as well as couples and groups just looking for a perfect island day. We walked away saying it was the best experience we could have asked for. Highly highly recommend! 🐷🌴💗

We had heard amazing things about Sandy Toes, so our expectations were high. We visited in mid-October, which falls near the end of the rainy season, so we knew weather could play a role. Booking & Communication: Annie was wonderful to work with! She was friendly, responsive, and quickly eased my concerns about the forecast by assuring me that if our excursion was “rained out,” they’d simply move us to the next day. That proactive communication gave me confidence before we even arrived. The Trip Over & Snorkeling Experience: The boat ride to Rose Island was smooth and scenic, about 20 minutes long. Unfortunately, a short rain shower hit just as we arrived. When we docked, the crew announced there would be only one snorkeling session — immediately after disembarking. The surf, however, was rough with waves crashing against the dock and rocks, and it didn’t feel particularly safe for adults, let alone kids. The snorkeling gear process was chaotic and rushed. Staff were shouting directions, and guests were left confused about where to line up. The tone came off as impatient and scolding, which added stress to what should’ve been a fun experience. Once in the water, visibility was poor due to the weather, and we didn’t see any turtles — something we had been really looking forward to. Guests also weren’t allowed to use snorkel gear on the calmer beach side, which was disappointing, especially for families with small children. The Island Experience: The island itself is beautiful but beach access was smaller than expected, with limited areas open to explore. We were told not to go beyond a certain point, restricting beach access quite a bit. On a positive note, there were multiple sessions throughout the day to interact with the swimming pigs — absolutely the highlight! The pig handlers were kind, patient, and clearly loved their animals. Lunch was excellent — honestly, one of the best meals we had in the Bahamas — and the open bar was generous with plenty of covered seating for when the rain passed. There were also ample beach chairs and shaded spots for relaxing. Suggestions for Improvement: - Be upfront on your website about there being only one snorkeling opportunity. - If conditions are unsafe, postpone snorkeling instead of rushing guests into the water. - Allow snorkeling gear to be used on the calmer beach side — especially helpful for families. - Clarify that turtles aren’t guaranteed. The advertising makes it sound like they’re part of the experience. - Encourage staff to slow down and be more patient during gear distribution. - Bring back the beach hammocks! They’re heavily featured online but were nowhere to be found. Final Thoughts: Sandy Toes has a lot of potential and several great aspects — the food, the pigs, and the bar are all top-notch — but the overall experience felt rushed and overly controlled. If you’re visiting near the end of the rainy season, expect some unpredictability. For those traveling with children or hoping for a more relaxed snorkeling experience, a private charter may be a better fit.

Eleuthera, part of the Bahamas archipelago, is a popular vacation destination known for its stunning pink-sand beaches and excellent diving spots. The island offers a variety of dining experiences, from casual pubs and bars to upscale restaurants.
It's heavenly with a beach to yourself! We visited in hurricane season but got lucky with the weather. Restaurants were mostly closed, so we prepared to cook our own. The supermarket in South near Rock sound had the most choices and was reasonably priced. Do carry deet for sandflies at dusk and dawn!

I spent 3 days and nights here. Things you need to know before coming out here: This is not a very modern island. Most places only take cash. Bring lots of cash, at least $250 per visiting day per couple. There are only a couple ATMs on the island. Many restaurants are out of people's homes. There are a few nice restaurants on the island. There are no big-name hotels. There is a very nice resort that was $1000 per night. I chose to rent an Air BnB for $75 per night. It was more than adequate. We went on a tour boat to see different parts of the island, swim with pigs, feed stingrays, and sea turtles. The people on the island are very friendly. Don't expect people to be in a rush for you, this includes restaurant staff. People here are on island time. There are places to rent cars, but they are typically older cars that are in rough condition, and are being rented by individuals on the island. There are many nice places to visit, including the Queen's Pool, Preacher Cave, and numerous beaches. If you're lucky, you might run into Lenny Kravitz. He lives on this island. And finally, the airport is like something out of a third world country. It is tiny, and behind the times. Give yourself at least 2 hours before boarding.
Texican — Google review
This island is very rural with few restaurants and resorts. If you are looking for a quiet place with gorgeous, secluded beaches this is it. Except for Harbor Island where the wealthy visit, the scenery here is typical island scrub and the towns are very rustic with run-down buildings. The grocery stores are small and the prices are quite high since this is an island. We found the most well stocked store was near the airport on the north end of the island. There are no-seeum bugs at dusk which can be very annoying. The electricity goes off frequently for short periods of time. The roads are not great and people drive on the left side which takes a little while to get used to. Renting a 4 wheel drive car is a must unless you are staying in a resort. We were happy to stay right on the ocean in an Airbnb because the view was spectacular. We found Rainbow Bay Beach and French Leave Beach to be the easiest and most beautiful to visit if you are staying in the north central part of the island.

A fabulous, deserted stretch of beautiful beach which we have stayed on regularly over the last 5 or 6 years. Pristine. One of our favourites on the entire planet - and we’ve been right around it!❤️

Heaven on Earth! Eleuthera is a hidden gem of the Bahamas. There is not a ton of touristy things to do so if you want to disconnect and get away from your day to day stresses and enjoy naturally beautiful landscapes this is the place for you.

From the moment you arrive, you will meet a genuine Eleutheran. Everyone you meet will be just as nice and no they will not mug you off at all. They are so nice and friendly you won't believe it, actually takes so.e getting used to. We visited to collect sea shell's and enjoy the Bahamas first hand. We had a car hire from a really nice chap Wilton Thomas who as a small fleet of 15 cars. They are ordinary cars as there are pot holes and unmade roads everywhere you go. That said the roads were easy to drive as not many cars on the roads. We had the most amazing adventures round the island, stopping off at as many beaches as possible. We popped into local shops for snacks and drinks etc, the people just so friendly everywhere you go. The beaches and sightseeing exceptional bars and restaurants. We stayed at Pineapple Fields central Eleuthera Governors Harbour on the Atlantic side if the island. Directly opposite Tippy's restaurant and bar.the atmosphere was amazing every night, with live music most nights Reggie and Jazz brilliant musicians doing their stuff. Like most former British colonies, plantations with untold stories if you care to look around you. Most of the unmade roads former plantation access roads. What a beautiful place with beautiful people.

Dolphin Cay Atlantis is a 14-acre marine mammal habitat that offers an immersive experience for eco-tourists. It houses 17 rescue bottlenose dolphins and provides educational programs for guests to interact with the dolphins, witnessing their vocalizations and physical abilities. The facility is committed to conservation, rehabilitation, and education.
We absolutely loved our time at Dolphin Cay! Our daughter had the incredible opportunity to interact with both dolphins and sea lions, which was a magical experience for her. The trainers are truly passionate about what they do, and it shows in the way they care for the animals. We were also lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes look at the rehabilitation center, which gave us a deeper appreciation for their conservation efforts. If you’re staying at Atlantis, we highly recommend supporting this cause by signing up for one of the many excursions they offer. It was a highlight of our stay and something we’ll never forget!

We did the tour with the Dolphins - it was a lot of fun with the family, and was well organized. However there was only limited time with the dolphins and lot of folks in the tour. Which was in line with how expensive this tour was

We had shoey (dolphin king) was amazing he made sure everyone got a fair share with the dolphins. They listened to him even when he was empty handed and he made it enjoyable for all ages. The dolphins were amazing we got to hug them, high-five them, and we even got a kiss on the cheek from a dolphin. They ended it off with flips and tricks and was definitely a 10/10 experience.

My family and I had an amazing experience swimming with the dolphins. The process was mostly smooth. Photo process isn't very clear. Expect to pay an extra $250 for all digital photos. The website is not very detailed on what's involved with the experience. You basically get to swim with the dolphins for about 30-45 mins in the water as you learn about the dolphins and perform activities with them. You are also provided with a snorkel to see the dolphins underwater. Overall, awesome experience and really glad I was able to do it with my family. My 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter will never forget it!

I had the pleasure to do the rise & shine experience with the dolphins. Overall, great experience. The instructor was very friendly and got the entire group immersed into the experience. Making jokes with the dolphins and splashing us (very refreshing). I think this experience was well worth the money. The gift shop doesn’t open until 9am, so to purchase photos that the photographer takes, you’ll have to wait until the store opens. They take good photos and give a variety of different shots from the entire time in the water.

Fun experience swimming with the dolphins. The trainers were kind and patient. We were there in a small group and each had an opportunity to interact with the dolphins. A fun place to tour and learn about marine life in the area. We usually pass on the pictures they sell after the tour, but we couldn't pass this one up. What an amazing experience.

A great experience! We were able to kayak with the dolphins for about 30 minutes. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It was pricey but that’s expected. We were not staying at Atlantis so we had to also purchase a day pass, which we were unaware of when booking months ago however so plan accordingly.

Notable street
Bay St in Nassau is a lively and historic road, known as the city's oldest. It's a popular spot for shopping, dining, and lodging, with British colonial landmarks adding to its charm. The bustling street attracts both locals and tourists seeking deals on various items like jewelry, designer purses, electronics, and liquor. While some shops offer typical souvenirs, there are also quality gift shops and duty-free stores available.

(Translated by Google) This last flagship of the Commonwealth has undoubtedly lost its charm under the waves of American tourists. Four huge cruise ships are permanently docked in front of the official buildings of the capital. It's difficult to make your way through the processions of cruise passengers in search of typical souvenirs. The few vestiges of the British empire are not well highlighted behind the stalls of the Straw Market rich in trinkets of more Asian than Caribbean origin.
