Island
Orcas Island, part of the San Juan archipelago, is a larger and more secluded island than its neighbor, San Juan Island. The lack of an incorporated town adds to its remote and relaxing feel. The village of Eastsound offers charming shops, galleries, cafes, and restaurants for visitors to enjoy. A must-see attraction is the breathtaking panoramic view from the 2,409-foot peak of Mt. Constitution in Moran State Park.
Definitely make ferry reservations. The boat ride is half the fun! Go up Mt Constitution on a clear day with a picnic, see some old growth forest and breathe clean air.

Something you definitely want to experience. Book ferry tickets ahead of time, smooth process and spend the day on the island. Eastsound shops and cafes are great for tourist shopping, visit and kayak at Moran State park and make your way up to Mount Constitution for some of the best views of the region

Absolutely beautiful Island picture perfect scenes all around the island. The water and spots are clear and blue and green colors of the water. Makes for an excellent relaxation spot. People on the island are very friendly
Beth — Google review
Loved our visit to Orcas Island. There is an abundance of outdoor activities available to access. We found a park that had a beautiful lake at which it was easy to launch kayaks. A lot of people bike and hike. The downtown offers a number of local stores. We particularly liked the bookstore that welcomed our dog. One of the clerks, maybe the owner, even gave her a homemade treat. It is truly a gorgeous place.
Mary S — Google review
Pretty seascapes but a triumph of privilege: it is white, old, a bit dull. We came mid September and everything is already closed for the season. We drove around to explore the island but everything seems to be on private land at the end of a private road.

Absolutely amazing and quite breathtaking. We visited the farmers market for some great food and enjoyed walking through all the shops. There are lots of beautiful things to see, get ready to take lots of pictures. There is a church with a beautiful garden, I can remember the name of the church. You can see the garden from the road. Be sure to stop in for a visit.

Orcas Island is a wonderful place to visit. Gorgeous scenery, great places to stay, good food, amazing trails, and a nice laid-back feel. Besides all that, you get there by ferry.

Nestled along the stunning coastline of San Juan Island, Lime Kiln Point State Park, affectionately known as Whale Watch Park, is a treasure trove for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. This picturesque day-use park features a historic lighthouse that serves as an ideal vantage point for land-based whale watching from May to September. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views while keeping an eye out for majestic orcas, humpback whales, and other marine life like harbor seals and sea lions.
A bit disappointed I didn’t see any orcas, but oh well—let it be! The scenery here is absolutely unbeatable, truly stunning. The trail to the beach is easy and enjoyable, making it a great spot for a relaxing walk. Still worth the visit!
Shellie S — Google review
Beautiful area with good hiking and a great interpretive center with lovely information and kind staff. There isn’t much parking here, but it rotates out pretty easily. This is a great starting point to bike down to cattle point or take a break from a ride originating at cattle point.
Heather A — Google review
Great place to watch a sunset! Need to buy a discovery pass for $10 so bring cash. There is a self pay station. Locals say this is the best place on the island for whale watching: we only saw a sea lion. Beautiful view is the expanse of the Sound!
Ron E — Google review
Beautiful and tranquil setting if visiting Friday Harbor. Take the time to head out and see the countryside and when you’ll enjoy the views on the way to this picturesque park. There are nice waterfront trails, adequate parking and the views of the wildlife and water is stunning.
John W — Google review
The only downside for me was the bathrooms, I really wish there had been plumbing for the toilets. We didn’t see any orcas, but the season just started so maybe they’re just being shy. Also the lighthouse was closed because someone broke their ankle and the staff was helping out, but what can you do. I like that there were multiple trail loops to walk while my husband sat on the rocks with binoculars, he did end up spotting a minke whale, so that’s something! Seemed like a great place for families, lots of parking, plenty of picnic tables, cute gift shop, snack stand, and lots of informational stands to read wildlife facts.
Anastasia A — Google review
Cute little park with a short hike to the lighthouse. There is a fee for a tour of the building. The views are spectacular, and the little wilderness you walk through is so pretty with old trees and magical glades buzzing with dragonflies. Gift shops, restrooms all the things are there. They are composting toilets so if you're not for that thing, go pee before you leave your accommodations.
Stephanie J — Google review
Very cool light house you can go up. There’s lots of rocks to climb on the waterfront. Bring your discover pass.

Pretty site, informative gift shop, good parking lot, composting restrooms, nice trails to the water to watch for whales. Picnic tables & informational signage at the waters edge.

Roche Harbor Resort, also known as Hotel De Haro, is a luxurious harborfront destination with three restaurants, a cafe, and a spa. The resort offers stunning gardens and is a popular spot for competitive sailors, celebrity yachts, and spa vacationers. Guests can enjoy delicious meals at the Madrona Bar and Grill while taking in picturesque views of the harbor. Additionally, the resort provides easy access to nearby trails for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the area.
We love staying at Roche Harbor Resort! This place is truly so special and the staff is so attentive and caring about every little detail. Love that there’s a general store, the coffee stand and breakfast is amazing, and we ate at madrona every night! Highly recommend the cottages, feels like our own home away from home!

Possibly the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in in one of the nicest scenic areas ever. They made the wedding I was attending magical for my daughter-in-law. Ask for John Wayne suite if it's available. Only drawback is that there is no air conditioning or fridge in the room.
Fredie V — Google review
Roche Harbor Resort is a must-see destination if you’re visiting the island. Steeped in charm and history, it offers stunning waterfront views, beautifully maintained grounds, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. Whether you’re exploring the marina, strolling through the gardens, or enjoying the restaurants and shops, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. It’s the kind of place that captures the essence of island life relaxing, scenic, and unforgettable.

What a beautiful place. Isaac works in front of the hotel volunteered exceptional service making our visit even more memorable and enjoyable. If Isaac is representive of the friendliness and care staff provide here you can’t fail to enjoy your visit.

This is quite possibly the most idyllic resort in the state of Washington. The history is fascinating, the location is unbeatable and the available restaurants and small store will cover all of your basic needs. The grounds are meticulously maintained and beautiful at any time of the year (though the spring and mid-summer are the most colorful). This an obvious wedding destination, so it can be quite busy groom May to October. Make reservations and plan ahead. The town of Friday Harbor is about 20-25 minutes away and offers pretty much anything else you could need, including many more restaurant options. The drive between Roche Harbor and Friday Harbor is beautiful any time of year and is also just worth it to get a better "feel" of San Juan Island. Don't debate, just visit!
F J — Google review
We stayed one Friday night in the Hotel de Haro in a room with a view for about $200, which was very reasonable. We were there for a wedding and had great communication before our stay — we received texts, emails, and even a phone call about our reservation. At night, the lights make the whole place feel extra magical, and the grounds are so well maintained — it honestly felt like something out of a movie. We loved the marina view, the friendly staff, and the cozy touch of coffee and donuts in the lobby. It felt very homey, and we slept great. The only downsides were that our room floor was noticeably uneven and slanted, making it tricky to set up our infant’s pack and play safely. Also, while the shared bathroom wasn’t an issue (especially since our room had its own sink and mirror), both our sink and the shared one didn’t drain well. Oh and the walls are thin. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay and such a charming, memorable spot!
Melissa H — Google review
As guest that stayed in the condos, it was beautiful. The whole place was perfect! The view was phenomenal! When we needed extra towels, we did not have to wait long before someone arrived to take care of us. However, my friends had a wedding there, which is the reason why we stayed. The wedding was beautiful. The surroundings made everything magical. The chapel and mausoleum were something out of a fairytale. But the reception was poorly executed. The wait staff were caught eating the food that my friends paid for. And this was discovered only because the kitchen door swung wide open and guests saw staff were in the kitchen stuffing their faces. Which the food was not theirs to eat! And makes complete sense as to why there was not enough of certain foods served or things that should have been served but was not. The food was for the guests at the wedding! And there was a major food allergy that was brought up long before the wedding day, noted in the contract and was overlooked. The groom had caught that there were many dishes made with the food allergy included, he had to have the chef make him gravy that didn't include the food allergy. Regardless, the groom ended up spending his wedding night in the bathroom. Food allergies need to be taken seriously. Overlooked and it could cost someone their life or put them in the hospital.
Kristina R — Google review
For $400+ a night guests shouldn't have to sleep on uncomfortable 100% polyester sheets that are more like what you'd find at a cheap roadside motel. Stayed in one of the condos that has minimal noise abatement. Upstairs neighbors very noisy clomping around. Plus at these prices checkout is 11 am. No excuse for that.

San Juan Island National Historical Park is a breathtaking oceanfront destination that beautifully combines natural beauty with rich history. Visitors can explore native prairies and wooded trails, all while keeping an eye out for majestic whales. The park recently expanded, enhancing its appeal to hikers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Not only does it boast stunning sandy beaches and serene woodlands, but it also offers a glimpse into the past with historical sites from the 1859 Pig War between British and American forces.
This was a great park. We saw several foxes, bald eagles, seals, and sea lions. There are plenty of different trails to hike and a nice visitor center. The park is well maintained and in a stunning location. The old camp was nicer than any infantry duty station I ever had.

Great meandering hikes to the edge. Overlooks to watt sunsets

There is a great interpretive center here with lots of information. Parking is limited but a lot of trails out to cattle point and South Beach originate from here. There are bathrooms but the center does close early around three. Even if the center closes, they leave the parking lot open. You can’t camper overnight park, but can park here for most of the day. This is a good starting point for a bike ride or hike out to cattle point.
Heather A — Google review
Great visitor center explaining US and British conflict over the international border during the Pig War in mid 1800s. Contains American Camp with white fences and some buildings and signage. Beautiful prairie grass, Cattle Pass, Gulf of Juan da Fuca views. Lots of native flora and fauna including a red fox that was hunting voles.
Michael C — Google review
Nothing too special, decent place to pass the time. The drive in to the lighthouse at the tip is fantastic. Some history lessons here if you're into it
Hemanth K — Google review
Lovely grounds, don't blame the British Marines for hating to leave. Didn't make it here with the visitor center open, but walking around is still awesome. Pear trees and Garry oaks all over! The cemetery and Young Hill overlook were also worth the hike. Recommended stop for sure along with the American camp. Great compliments to each other.
Heidi V — Google review
This park is not just a "one stop" location. It covers a large area of the island, mostly on the southern point. There are trails, beaches, cliffs, water views, a light house and the old forts. All located within an easy drive of each other. So plan on spending a day exploring them all as I did. If you want to camp, options are limited. San Juan county park is the main option with limited spaces that fill up quickly so plan accordingly. Another note, the ferries are currently experiencing boat and personnel shortages so ferries are not necessarily on time and are also frequently cancelled. Patience and flexibility are a must! You can (must) reserve your spot for the ferry but know that even that is not a guarantee.
Charles S — Google review
This is a great park with beaches and a nearby lighthouse. The rolling plains are home to wild foxes which are worth the visit to see. If you want to relax and enjoy being at peace/chill in nature, I highly recommend visiting. The park is pet friendly and no pass appeared to be required.

West Beach Resort is a charming beachfront hotel located on the western shores of an island. It offers a variety of accommodation options including cozy cabins, waterfront cottages, and deluxe fixed 'tent cabins'. The highlight of the resort is its private sandy beach where families can enjoy various activities. Additionally, the resort features a marina, store, and cafe providing all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The rustic vibe and proximity to the water make it an ideal destination for those seeking natural beauty and relaxation.
So friendly and welcoming. We were out fishing and it was a great spot to dock the boat, have lunch and grab a drink. For boaters they have fuel (a bit pricey compared to other fuel docks) and a launch. Might be a bit hard at +1 tide but call to confirm
Cody M — Google review
We camped in an SUV tent for three nights and it was amazing! We were really impressed with how clean, cozy and nice the whole resort was. The sunset views were epic, the coffee and pizza were surprisingly good, and the showers were clean and the perfect temp (not coin operated either like some info online says). The cabins looked so cute and we’d love to come back and stay in one. The location to the town of Eastsound was unbeatable and it had so many great restaurants and shops, and also very convenient to Moran State Park which was stunning. Right down the road from the pottery place which is a must do! We drove around a lot of the island and I didn’t see many other spots that I thought could beat this one for what we want. We did a drive in site and it’s pretty flat and open, but the spots are spaced apart enough that it still feels pretty private. The drive in spots in the back field (far east side of the resort) have no afternoon shade so plan accordingly! We popped our hatch and sat up our chairs in its shade. Some mosquitoes at our site but a little bug spray and keeping the tent door zipped went a long way! The pond made for great frog ambiance at night and we slept like babies. 10/10 trip and we will definitely be back to explore the island more from West Beach Resort!

What a beautiful campground resort with cabins and RV spaces! They get some incredible sunsets here, see photos attached. Our campsite was spacious if not private - the RV/camping area is in a wide open area. The bathrooms are just a short walk away and are kept nice & clean. Pets are welcome here if they are friendly and generally leashed, but they aren't super strict about it. We had no problems with check-in; the staff was friendly and happy to help. There's a nice general store here with the basic needs and snacks, as well as prepared meals and desserts. You can rent kayaks, canoes, and even motor boats. We really enjoyed the stay and plan to come again, maybe rent a cabin next time! Olympic Otter

Awesome place! Outstanding staff and accommodations! Hot clean showers, well stocked store. Great pizza, beer, nachos, mimosas, the list goes on.... Give them a shot, especially if you are a beginner camper or just getting back into the outdoors. Can't recommend them highly enough. We will definitely be back as soon as we can.
Greg G — Google review
We camped here 2 nights in August. Cannot beat location nor sunset! Lots of fun activities and a great shower facility. The down side was tent sites 51b as absolutely no shade and total exposure! Also very hot day and staff is way too hot serving customers in the office/store/food court. Owners need to consider installing a heat pump in this space! Very nice staff though despite the heat.
June C — Google review
I went solo camping with my dog and had the most amazing time! I just had a tent site (there are many different types of lodging available), but it was walking distance to the beach/marina and even closer to the showers/bathroom (which were clean). They have beachfront cabins which looked amazing and family friendly, but for me my campsite was perfect as a beginner camper. The marina has great food, plus pretty much anything you would need just in case you forgot anything. Not only did I not want to leave, I literally had to heave my dog into the car. I honestly booked my next stay before even completely unpacking my car when I got home.

Imagine eating a brownie fudge Sunday on the dock while your cages are in the water filling up with dungeness crab! Delicious pears, berries, apples! Wild frogs! Kayak rentals right into the open ocean! Surrounded by the cleanest air! This place is a dream come true!!!! Cam in the office helped us get our fishing license and was super knowledgeable about the area, where to go and what to do.
Tomer Z — Google review
Beautiful property with plenty of amenities to make camping as easy as possible. Town is super close and it was easy for us to drive all over the island from West Beach. Coffee from the general store was a delicious treat in the morning before we went to Mt. Constitution and we had breakfast burritos before whale watching! Seriously a blast of a trip for my first time to the San Juan Islands and Orcas Island!

The resort also features a marina and provides loaner canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes for guests to explore the beautiful surroundings. Visitors have praised the peaceful retreat it offers as well as its convenient amenities such as a well-stocked shop in the lobby.
Staff is great. Cabin one has a broken gas fireplace. Staff were not able to fix it during our stay there. Stay was beautiful. Kayaking and being able to make your own fire was fun. Cabin was rustic with some modern touches. Bedrooms get cold easy so keep those wall heaters on

Wonderful place! Stayed two nights and definitely want to get back. Beautiful location and it was so nice and quiet here which was lovely. They have a few kayaks free for guests, which I used and had a great paddle around the bay. Even saw otters! Cabin was very cozy and comfortable with a nice view. Only drawback was the windows weren't very clean

Photos don’t do this place justice — it’s a beautiful, peaceful getaway far from the bustle of Friday Harbor. It’s on the pricier side, but that’s to be expected on the island. The cabins themselves are fantastic: new, super clean, and with stunning views. Highly recommend if you want a quiet, comfortable stay.

Wonderful resort. The cabin rooms were so comfortable and spacious. The lush grounds were peaceful. The family owners and staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Highly recommend for a weekend away. Friday Harbor has locally owned shops, and the farmer's market is great!

We (my mother, 10-yo son, and I) stayed in a 1-bedroom cabin for 3 nights. It was the perfect accommodation for us and we could have spent the whole time on the resort grounds. The cabin was even better than I expected. The fully stocked kitchen was super handy. We ate breakfast in every morning and a couple of dinners. The bedroom had a comfy bed and the armoire provided plenty of space for our belongings. The pull-out couch was pretty comfortable too. The shower has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They also provide plenty of high quality towels. The staff were friendly and a great source of information. The lobby shop and coffee shop were nice resources. There is free drip coffee available during the coffee shop open hours. The same high quality coffee is provided in the cabin for brewing as well. We took advantage of the kayaks and canoe. My son was obsessed with spotting the harbor seal(s) while we paddled around the bay. It is a short 15 minute or less drive to anywhere you want to go on the island. We explored English camp, American camp, cattle point, sculpture park, and much more. The Snug Harbor resort was a wonderful place to relax before and after our excursions. My son wants to come back next year and I hope to return soon as well.

Beautiful location with Beautiful clen cabins! Very peaceful and well kept. The staff were so friendly with tons of recommendations of places to go on the island. They also give a great military discount! Will definitely return!

We really loved this spot! Quiet and clean with plenty of space. My kids loved playing in the small access space to the water. Janice and team were super sweet and helpful. I think this place is a best bet if you boat in and dock as it is not close to anything if you are driving (had to drive the 17min back to Friday Harbor for groceries).

Specialty Museums
The Whale Museum, located in Friday Harbor, is a must-visit destination for those interested in learning about whales and the Salish Sea ecosystem. The museum features a variety of exhibits showcasing artwork, artifacts, and educational programs focused on different kinds of whales that inhabit the area. One of its highlights is the skeleton of a young orca named Sooke (L-112), offering insight into the process of preparing whale skeletons for display.
Really well done exhibits with lots of information about the orcas and other whales, and very moving stories of some of the individual Southern Resident Killer Whales. Employees were kind and knowledgeable, and I attended a fantastic free talk at the museum by Brad Hanson about the status and health of the Southern Resident Killer Whale pods. If you’re planning a trip to San Juan Island the Whale Museum is whale worth a visit.

We went in on a Saturday. It wasn't crowded. Good collection in the display and an audio tour we can listen along as we move through the exhibits.

An interactive museum, well-equipped and educational. Excellent for taking small children, as it has a children's area. I liked that, despite having two floors, it has a wheelchair for guests to climb if needed. It's a quick tour; I highly recommend visiting.

Amazing! This is a must see whenever you are in Friday Harbor! Kids & adults, so much to learn, experience and explore. The gift shop has something for everyone 💙💚💙
Bambi M — Google review
My partner and I came here for our third anniversary. We both thought this was one of the best museums we’ve ever been to. The staff are clearly enthusiastic and well-informed about marine life. The exhibits upstairs are curated with extraordinary care for the animals that they depict. In particular, the interactive phone booth in the corner was clever. It was a wonderful way to hear the animals through a “filter” — the phone’s antiquated crackle and sense of distance — as a simulation, perhaps, of the underwater transmittance of that information. We had a lovely time. Thank you for having us!
Michelle C — Google review
The museum was very informative and have really cool exhibits. The woman working there was very nice and friendly as well. I also really liked the unique finds in the giftshop that had many items from local artists
Allison H — Google review
GOOD AT EDUCATION BUT MUSEUM NEEDS AN UPGRADE The people here are passionate about educating humans on these wonderful creatures and what can be done to protect them. However, the museum itself looks like it's from 1992 with very little interactivity and, in this day and age, that's expected. I hope they receive funding to update, as this is the perfect spot to learn about whales and then go out and see them in their natural habitat. On the plus side, the gift shop was good with a nice range of products.
Linda B — Google review
Informative museum focused on conservation and respectful, careful study of and interaction with marine wildlife (especially whales). The exhibits are interesting, and there's lots to read about whales on the self-guided tour. Experience standing inside the ribcage of an orca, seeing a whale brain vs. a human brain, listening to whale calls, and other interesting and interactive displays. There's also a nice little gift shop and videos about whales. Well worth a visit.

Additionally, gentle hikes around Mountain Lake and Obstruction Pass provide scenic views and access to tide pools.
Moran is a beautiful, secluded park on the edge of the world. There is a variety of hiking options for all skill levels as well as boating activities. Worth the trip out for the day. The falls are beautiful and the hike (or drive) up to Mt. Constitution should not be skipped on a clear day.

Beautiful! Easy access to trails, amenities and a park. Just did the Cascade Lake trail, which is a lovely relatively easy less than 3 mile hike. The views are incredible and terrain varied from forest right down to the lake. There’s a snack shack there, bathrooms and picnic area. Definitely worth the $10 Parking/registration fee.

We recently drove through Moran State Park to check it out for future visits, and it’s absolutely beautiful! The park sits right along the water and is incredibly lush and scenic. While there are no electrical hookups (which means we wouldn’t bring our RV), it’s perfect for tent camping or bringing our truck. We like to scope out parks ahead of time, and this one offers plenty of great sites to choose from, with four different camping areas. The park also has an awesome spot where you can rent kayaks and canoes, plus a designated swimming area with a beach. There are lots of amenities, and the restrooms were clean and well-kept throughout the park. A couple of tips: definitely book your campsite well in advance since this is a popular state park, and don’t forget to reserve your ferry tickets to Orcas Island both ways—especially on weekends, as the waits can be long. We’ll definitely be coming back here for camping and exploring more of what this amazing park has to offer!

A beautiful park with camping amenities. Also has a nice kayak rental place on Cascade lake. Check out Mount Constitution for a beautiful view spanning from Stanwood to Blaine and beyond on clearer days.

I’m an Orcas resident, since 2014 — Moran embodies my sense of Orcas. We humans are the visitors in this natural setting where deer, birds, and critters of many types THRIVE. PLEASE be EASY and QUIET without leaving garbage so that we humans do not harm or disrupt. If you’ve read this far I will share a locally known very special place. Just before entering the park from the north, Rosario Rd goes Right, West. If you take it, in ~1/2 mile Palisades Dr. goes off downhill to the left. to a parking lot on the edge of the park. Park there and follow the trail at the edge of the parking lot ~1/4 mile to the right to a magnificent lagoon. Many people hang there by a prominent rock dabbling their toes in the shallow water and swimming. Another 1/4 mile along the path takes one to the wonderful bridge that is visible from the main Cascade Lake picnic area across the lake. My pics taken from the lagoon in May 2025.

An absolute favorite for good ole woods on the lake camping! Campgrounds have so much variety in shade, waterfront options, RV hookups, walk-in, and group sites. Their bathrooms and showers are well maintained, and the public use areas are always kept up as well. They staff a little snack shack where you can find limited swim gear and accessories, plus impressive snacks, coffee, ice cream, candy, etc. The lake is a non-motorized boat lake, but they rent out water toys or bring your own float islands and paddleboards. Mt. Constitution is also found within the park and is a must visit! Views into Canada and over the WA coast are to die for on a clear day. Whether you're visiting just for the day or longer, Moran State Park is an oasis worth experiencing!

Beautiful park with lots to do! You have the lake below Mount Constitution with rentals and food and a beach like atmosphere. You can go out Mount Constitution for trails or a big bike slog uphill. The views from the top of Mount Constitution are lovely. The whole area is great and it’s easy enough to ride an e-bike on the hills that go up and down.

Located on Spring Street, the San Juan Islands Museum of Art (SJIMoA) is a remote museum dedicated to showcasing the works of local and regional artists from the Pacific Northwest. The museum offers rotating exhibits, workshops, and lectures, providing visitors with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant arts scene of the region. Housed in a renovated former EMS vehicle garage, SJIMoA features a second-floor studio illuminated by skylights where guest artists conduct workshops.
Lovely little art museum with a great selection of art! I loved the photography exhibit that’s on about compassion. A huge variety of artists are represented from Imogen Cunningham to local artists as well! Docent was extremely friendly and enthusiastic. Mondays are pay what you like too.

This is a small, but powerful museum. We very much enjoyed all three exhibits and the lady working the information booth was super friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a stop in when you’re on the islands. I wouldn’t recommend this place for small children.

GOOD THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES Fabulous small art gallery/museum. The layout has been beautifully designed and curated by Peter Lane, the paintings shine from the walls and I enjoyed my walk through. Worth a good hour of your time to stop and appreciate the fine artists on display. Lovely things for sale in gift shop.

Iceberg Point on Lopez Island offers a picturesque hiking trail that leads to Point Colville and back via Watmough Bay and Chadwick Hill. The route boasts stunning views, serene meadows, and enchanting forests. Hikers can choose to explore any section or complete the entire journey. The area features unique wind-swept coasts reminiscent of Iceland, with opportunities to observe playful seals through binoculars near a prominent marker.
This is an absolutely lovely park! There are many stunning views and plenty of places where one can get close to the water!

Kinda difficult to determine where the trailhead is, as all areas look to be posted “Private Property” but park at Agate Beach Park and walk up the road 1/4 mile. A sign will direct you where to go from there.
Michael D — Google review
This is such an incredible place - don’t miss the detail on how Indigenous people used fire to manage the landscape on the panel on the trail in, very cool!
Tucker C — Google review
Easy hike. Though for some reason we got lost finding our way back lol but we did it. It was fun and beautiful!
Kimberly E — Google review
Great hike on Lopez Island. We got a bit turned around (take a photo of the map on your phone), but it was lovely so didn’t really matter. These wind swept coasts are pretty unique. The rocks reminded me of Iceland. Fun seals to gawk at by the big marker, bring your binoculars for a good look. It’s the perfect hike length (shortest round trip is 2.5mi) - options to go further if you want, shade options, sun options, hills but not too big or steep. Tips: Be respectful of the neighbors and private property you’re passing by to get to the park entrance. No facilities at the point, but there is parking and a toilet at the county park just south of the beginning of the hike to the point. It can be easy to miss the turn onto the trail from the road - as you walk up, you pass two homes on your right. The turnoff is immediately after the second house with the big open yard. There’s a gate that indicates you’ve found the right trail. Have fun!
Lisa B — Google review
Definitely going to go back here. It was difficult to find, as you think you are going down a personal driveway. But the entrance is just pass the first house on the right. You will see the sign at the top of the post. You also have to park and walk from the beach before the entrance, only a quarter mile or so away. This is probably why it was such a pristine park and lot at all busy, well that and it's on a small island. Beautiful hikes taking you to some amazing scenery of the San Juan Islands and surrounding area. They have some very rare flowers growing here, some that can only be found on Lopez Island (so be careful and stay on trail).

Iceberg Point is a special place and probably my favorite location to photograph and spend time on Lopez Island. It has an amazingly diverse landscape and the weather, especially during winter storms creates a rustic beauty. It's part of the San Juan Islands National Monument / BLM with access from Agate Beach County Park and a must see when visiting Lopez Island.
Bill E — Google review
Beautiful hike that starts in a neighborhood but ends on a shore that looks like something straight out of a movie. Good views of sea lions and sea anemones in the nearby tide pools. Trail traffic was moderate on a Saturday afternoon.

The Orcas Island Historical Museum is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. It features cabins from the 1870s and 1890s, showcasing historical artifacts that depict the island's rich history. The museum offers a relaxed atmosphere in Eastsound, where visitors can explore the development of island communities and early settlers' stories through excellent artifacts. The volunteer staff provides informative and friendly guidance, making it an authentic and memorable experience.
Absolutely amazing, if you want to get a sense of the history of Orcas, this is the place! It was free to enter, but they do suggest you donate. The staff members were wonderful, passionate, and knowledgeable. I might come back again just to say hi! I also bought christmas gifts, and some stuff for myself, like a san juan islands scene byway sticker for my car!

The San Juan Historical Museum, located at 441 Price St., is a local history museum that offers a glimpse into the island's past. Housed in an 1894 farmhouse and featuring several other historic buildings on its grounds, the museum showcases artifacts and restored architecture from the late 1800s, providing visitors with a journey back to the island's rural era.
This is a little gem parked away! Small collection of interesting buildings, many explainer boards and many neat photos. Very nice staff. They stayed a few minutes past closing for us just so we could explore the grounds without feeling rushed. Interesting that some of the older buildings have been moved/saved, lot of history. The main museum building is the best with recreation scenes.

This was the first time I've been to the San Juan Historical Museum though I've been to the island several dozen times. The museum was fantastic! Great pieces of history both from earlier time periods and specific to the island. I loved the King's farmhouse with the phone operators board and what bedrooms looked like. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the island!

We started our stay on San Juan Island with a visit to this historical museum. Very well done - we were the first visitors on a Tuesday morning. The director, Kevin, and his staff of two volunteers were very gracious and friendly. We walked the entire facility and enjoyed the displays. The main gems of the San Juan Islands, Friday Harbor remains one of the few fun and welcoming islands in the SJ to tourists and visitors.. unlike some of it's neighbors (Lopez) that have turned their backs on tourists in favor of rich "private beach" zoning, Friday Harbour is a refreshing throw back to the Old Identity of what the SJ Island used to represent. 10/10 will recommend. The museum is a living testament to the islands dedication for sharing their past and present to all visitors 🫶🏽

ALICIA IS THE BEST!! before receiving my first pedicure from Alicia afterglow spa I had always gotten pedicures back locally in Michigan, but this was the first time I had ever gotten a real pedicure. Alicia was able to make my ugly feet look beautiful, she really took her time and got all of the calluses and dead skin off of my feet. I’m a cook so I work in on my feet all day long so I have thick calluses and very weird toenails that grow upwards and not outwards so I have just thick plates toenails with a lot of dead skin underneath and she was able to remove it and make them look very nice. I just received a second pedicure from Alicia and this time it was more of a maintenance pedicure than a deep dive pedicure like the first one. Please if you go to the spot request, Alicia.

Overall - I highly recommend this SPA - love their outstanding customer service. Thank you very much.

This was THE BEST massage experience I’ve ever had. From the beginning checking in with Mayra to the amenities I was able to enjoy while waiting (steam room, shower, etc), to the amazing massage itself with the wonderful Audrey that made me melt into the table, I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I appreciated that I was asked beforehand what amount of pressure I wanted, what my trouble areas were, etc. Audrey tailored the massage to me with everything I wrote down in mind and it was perfection. Additionally, this spa was utterly spotless and clean, which I think I pretty important. If you are on the island, just do yourself a favor and go for it because you won’t regret it.

Beautiful location. Very quiet. We stayed in a middle row cottage, at the end of the row, closest to the forest. The deer came onto the property to rest on the lawn. The rooms were airy and clean. I loved the heated bathroom floor. The kitchen has a great layout. There were all sorts of rosewood furniture and rosewood accents in the cottage we were in. The private hot tub was wonderful, and we were delighted to see many stars from it at night. The restaurant and pub were lovely, and had lovely patios. Nice walkways to and from the amenities area. There was a bit of a haul to get from the car to the cottage. If you are handicapped, mention it to the front desk at the time of booking to get a unit close to parking. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Over all our experience to Poets Cove was very enjoyable for the weekend. We came to the Island for a wedding that was hosted at the resorts. As we have rented out all the cabins it was very enjoyable for us as we had a sense of a private community for the weekend. The views from the resort are phenomenal and you can catch some beautiful sunsets there. While it’s fairly isolated from the rest of the island the island is small enough for that not being an issue if you wanted to explore the island, go disc golfing or go the the plaza to get some things from the store. Would highly recommend this getaway whether it’s for a couple, a group of friends and also a nice place to get married. The only downside is that the resort is showing its age and could use some updates to match up to its pricing and 4 star credibility

Poet's Cove Resort is great. There is a quaint nautical theme, the rooms are super clean and the grounds are meticulous. The crisp architecture looks like it was built last week. Everyone is super friendly. Love it. Only downside is that the Lodge rooms do not have any microwave available to use... at all.
Thom G — Google review
I imagine when this place was new that it was quite luxurious. But the owners (who also own Harrison Hot Springs hotel) have not kept the place up at all. At best this is a 3 star resort. Upon arrival we were early so didn’t expect to check in but we were allowed to use the pool. However they wouldn’t give us any towels “There aren’t any.” So we just sat out by the beach waiting for them to call which they never did. At 4pm we went back and were told 5 minutes still. They are clearly very understaffed. We stayed in one of the cottages which is a great size. But needs repairs. Windows that are broken etc. And it definitely could have been cleaner. The wooden platform around the hot tub gave way under my daughter’s feet and she fell through and was cut up and bruised by the wood and rusty nails. The whole thing is rotten and was in the same condition at another cottage our family rented. We didn’t have anyone come and speak with us after we told the front desk. And as someone else mentioned, there isn’t any management presence. The lower, bigger pool wasn’t open so the little one was quite crowded. And there is clearly mold in the bathrooms. This place needs a major overhaul of renovations/maintenance and far more staff. I hold the owners responsible for that. If this property was listed as 2-3 stars I probably would have expected this condition.
Angela H — Google review
We had a beautiful stay for our anniversary at poets cove. Because we were late getting the ferry, all shops were closed and there was no time to get a drink to celebrate. Anna at the front desk was incredibly accommodating, giving us a bottle of red wine with a smile. Thank you so much to your wonderful staff and all that you do!
Denis O — Google review
Beautiful location, friendly/helpful staff, and great pool facilities. The cabin we stayed in was excellent, and the hot-tub was a nice touch. The only critiques I have are that there was a lot of dishware missing in the cabin, appliances (ie toaster/washing machine) did not work well and the check in process was a little behind/disorganized. Otherwise, an enjoyable place to stay.
Ross C — Google review
Staff were nice but the hotel is in dire need of a deep clean and some TLC. We were put in a pet friendly room without being told and there were huge pee stains on the floor and large scratches on the door and it smelled of dogs. Know it’s an older hotel but a good clean and some minor repairs would go a LONG way. View was amazing from the hotel.
Rachel H — Google review
Rooms are not bad. Need a bit of updating but lovely views. My issue (s) are 1) they supply plastic cups wrapped in plastic for water & coffee - wonder why it isn't a resort that is environmentally on board?? 2) loud band playing one night so not able to enjoy a peaceful evening. It’s up to the resort to tell clients when booking that these events are happening so they can make an informed choice. It was a pricey experience that was very unfortunately disappointing.

Lopez Islander Resort and Marina is a laid-back getaway located along the marina and waterfront on Lopez Island. The resort offers a variety of accommodations including standard rooms, suites, vacation homes with bayview decks and kitchens, RV sites, and seasonal camping. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a restaurant, outdoor pool, Jacuzzi, gym, and 'tiki lounge bar.' Despite some disorganization at the front desk, the friendly staff provides good service.
I’ve docked here several times over the past few years staying at the marina while exploring the San Juans. Great to have as an option - staff is nice and the bar is friendly - definitely more local vibes vs resort. One older gal at the front desk could lighten up a bit after a couple check ins this past year. Overall, enjoy all that Lopez has to offer!

Absolutely loved our lunch at the Lopez Islander Resort Restaurant – easily a five-star experience! We started with the fried oyster appetizer, and wow — the breading was light and crispy, and the combo of cocktail and tartar sauces were great accompaniments (and that’s saying a lot, because I usually hate tartar sauce!). For mains, we had the Baja fish tacos and the salmon sandwich — both were fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The setting couldn’t have been better — we docked for free at the marina (such a great perk when dining there), and enjoyed our meal out on the patio with our pup. Pet-friendly, scenic, and welcoming — this place checks all the boxes. The staff was super friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a must-visit if you’re on Lopez Island. We’ll be back for sure!

Stayed at the hotel and parked boat in the marina on a 4 day fishing trip. The food in the restaurant is excellent! The prime rib was spot on. Cooks here know what they're doing. Service from Grace was fantastic! Our bartender David was also fantastic and was fast and efficiently keeping everyone taking care of during the busy rush of a Friday and Saturday evening. The marina has gas, ice (free one bag a day for guests) and easy access. Luiz took care of getting us all settled in and was awesome. All in all I highly recommend if your looking for a great island fishing resort. Boat was safe at night and the rooms were clean and comfy. If I could make one recommendation, they Samish Bay oysters are fantastic in a shooter but would be superb on the half shell as a Friday-Sunday special!

I so much want to really like this place. My review is focused on the Marina. The Islander has a fabulous setting, it is a super time capsule of a resort, very clean, good food, good service and convenient access to town. The Marina is a disaster. Half of the slips need complete makeovers (40ft) and are at best marginally safe, there is no pump out, there are no hoses or power line extensions available on the docks, there are no personnel on the docks, no garbage disposal on the docks - and for this, they charge the highest rates in the San Juan Islands (my boat is 45 LOA) and I paid $140/night - more than Roche (which is fully amenitized and professionally staffed). I could accept all of the above for what comparable facilities charge - say $60, even then I would be disappointed in the quality/safety of the dock. Port Ludlow has docks in much better shape and they are renovating! I stayed at a wonderful dock in Eagle Harbor recently - $53, great dock, water, power, and a super pump-out. I have know stayed at the Islander Marina three times over the last two years - each time hoping that matters have improved - no!! No more for the rates they wish to achieve. The Islander is a distant marine experience to Friday, Roche, Anacortes, and Deer. It is not worth the money - a consistent disappointment for me. I can't speak to Rosario as I have not been there in years for similar reasons.
Kevin M — Google review
We stayed on our boat at the Marina- Expensive overnight with limited to no services ( no pump out or bathrooms on dock). Difficult to find any staff. Restaurant food is fried pub fare at best. Not much to do and no restaurant choices nearby. No charm to the place.

Lakedale is a picturesque resort nestled on 82 acres by the lake, offering a variety of accommodations to suit every preference. From luxury yurts with private hot tubs and glamping units with bathrooms to lodge rooms with breakfast, camping, and log cabins, there's something for everyone. The property features three lakes and provides boat rentals, sports courts, BBQs, and ample space for outdoor activities.
Lakedale is an incredible place to stay and is in a quite and secluded place on the island in between Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor. Staying here was one of the highlights to our trip. We stayed in the lodge and loved everything about it. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, it was quiet and the breakfast was fantastic. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and nice. The view from the lodge was so beautiful. There were so many positives about this place that we will be returning customers and can't wait to come back. I highly recommend staying here if you visit Friday Harbor.

This is a really special resort that has a broad range of camping experiences, from straight campsites for tents to yurts, canvas tents, cabins, and RV sites. We had an RV, and there are limited spots. They are situated in a great location and accessible to all the activities and amenities like the lakes, the boats and peddle boats, canoes, fishing, etc. The resort is close to Friday Harbor for shopping and dining and centrally located for easy exploration of the island and its sites and landmarks. The team there is super efficient and very nice. The desk folks at the lodge are so sweet. We had a lovely experience. The only downside is that it is a challenge to sync the check-in and check out to the ferry schedule. We had hours to kill going home, and the ferries are not always reliable to begin with. It's hard to find parking for an RV in town while you're waiting. All around A+ experience and worth the ferry fee to get there.

We stayed in their campgrounds and wow. Truly my new favorite campground. The check in process is nice and easy. The campground is clean and has so many activities for kiddos( bikes, rentals for the lakes, fishing allowed, volleyball court, tiedye ). Everyone was quiet and respectful of eachothers space. Bathrooms are super clean and have nice showers( they are motion censored though so the water shuts off a lot!) We saw a big buck and a fox late at night. Truly a incredible sight I will be coming back!

This is a family friendly, fun area to retreat with super friendly staff! Lots of activities, free bikes and paddle boats. We enjoyed the full sized checkers and the Tie-Die activity! Quiet place to RV. Hook-ups are great. No sewer on the island but they have clean shower and bathrooms facilities! Came with our kids more than a decade ago. Came back for a 35th anniversary’s. Still so much fun!

Stayed here at the RV campground October 5-7 2025.5 spaces, electric & water.Nice and flat.Good view of the lake & forest. Awesome campground.Very quiet when we were there. We were the only people in the RV campground. We were a couple of hours late getting out due to car trouble and they did not charge us extra.Staff helped us getting the battery charged.

Our family of three recently stayed at the lodge suite for one night. This place is gorgeous, quite and clean. The suite has two bedrooms, a living room and a balcony facing the forest, very spacious. Both the main lobby and outdoor deck right by the tranquil and beautiful lake. It surprised me that bicycle, boat/kayak and fishing supply all included in the price. Breakfast is also included and it’s delicious. At night I came out to the main lobby twice and just sit there and enjoy the beauty of this property. Next morning we biked along the lake, lots of well maintained meadows with wild flowers. Great job Lakedale, we will come back!

Everything here is amazing we have camped here at the family camp grounds 2 years in a row and had different sites each time. Every site is phenomenal. They are all on or near the lake. Beautiful views. Fun activities. Bathrooms! Safe for kids! Everything you could ask for!

Beautiful, quiet lodge that is wonderfully decorated and perfect for a relaxing getaway! We stayed in room 7, which had a main living room area and two queen bedrooms. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, and we enjoyed reading on the back deck.

WorldMark Deer Harbor is a relaxing resort located alongside Deer Harbor on Orcas Island. The vacation rentals offer suites with kitchenettes or full kitchens and private decks, making it easy to enjoy casual home-cooked meals. Guests can also make use of the shared barbeque area. The front desk staff are known for being extremely helpful and kind, while the rooms feature comfortable beds, cable TV, and great showers.
Great location and service. The rooms are clean. We stayed in a q bedroom for a family of 4. We made it work but it would have been better a 2 bedroom. The sofa bed is not comfortable. The jacuzzi on the deck is awesome, just try to get the perfect temperature of your liking. We went during a heat wave and the bedroom did not have ac. The office let us use a fan.

Such an absolutely beautiful place. So very peaceful. A hot tub at every cabin we have stayed at the last 3 years. The pool is nice. Older but well kept!
Stephanie T — Google review
My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in a deluxe studio, and we absolutely loved our time here. The room was very clean and cozy, and one of the highlights was having our own private jacuzzi right on the balcony – such a treat! The location is perfect: quiet, relaxing, and right by the marina, which made for beautiful views and peaceful walks. There aren’t a lot of restaurants, shops, or entertainment options within walking distance, so it’s more suited for a laid-back getaway than for those looking for a lively atmosphere. Some restaurants or activities are only open or available towards the weekend (Thu-Sun).That said, it’s only a short drive to nearby towns if you want more dining or activities. What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and went above and beyond to provide great information and resources that made our stay even better. Highly recommend WorldMark Deer Harbor if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and relaxing getaway with top-notch service.

We went out here to work on boats and stayed here. Pros: The rooms are nice and comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was a must after a long day of work and hiking. Love the kitchenette and they have a variety of premixed, individual packed spices that are really good! The view is phenomenal. Overall very happy with the room and amenities. Cons: The parking is not good at all. We showed up at night and could not figure out how to get into our room. The trees are right where you back out and it damaged the roof of the company vehicle. You have to carry your luggage too far in my opinion. I think it would be better if each person had their own walkway to their room. It was not clearly marked which way to go or how to get into your room and no directions on how to get around the area. Like one way streets and how to access those roads. Once you find your way around, totally worth it. The food on Island is amazing! Bring your appetites cuz it may surprise you. We didn’t eat in Deer Harbor area. We were working near Eastsound Village and the food was on point there! I absolutely loved the gift they left on our door on our last night. You will have to visit to see what it is. But I thought it just was perfect! Love the little riddle it came with. Definitely would stay here again!

We've wanted to stay at this WorldMark for several years and grabbed our Spring Break reservation when we booked 13 months in advance. We are in a 1 bedroom/ 1 bathroom unit. It's a typical WorldMark, but the kitchen only has 2 burners (no oven) and a dorm style fridge. We brought our rice cooker and Ninja Foodie cooker with us. Each unit at this resort has a private hot tub. There are no washers/dryers in the unit, but there is a laundry facility near the owner's lounge. Our unit is clean and functional, but the carpets are badly worn. We are here in early April, so many restaurants are closed. I did have delicious lasagna at Island Pie last night. They are open Wednesday-Saturday.
Karen B — Google review
There is only a hotel size mini fridge. Each unit has it's own hot tub on their deck. Only some units have water views. There is a swimming pool. The front desk will give you ice. Also no oven in unit, one in the office.

Nice place. Stayed in a studio cabin and everything was fresh and well maitained.maintained. Hot tubs we new and very much enjoyed.
Bob F — Google review
I stayed at this property in January 2025 and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. Here are some key points to consider: 1. (FYI - have nothing to do with the property)Transportation Issues: Make sure to check the ferry schedule in advance, as missing it can cause significant delays and inconvenience. 2. Connectivity Challenges: The cellphone network in the area is poor, and while WiFi is available, it’s not complimentary. You’re required to pay for a 10-day plan, which is inconvenient if your stay is shorter (mine was only 3 days). 3. Heating Problems: The heating system was poorly maintained. During the cold January weather, the heater made loud noises throughout the night and didn’t function properly, leaving the room uncomfortably cold. 4. Unhygienic Facilities: The hot tub was not cleaned adequately, which raised concerns about hygiene and the potential for skin infections. 5. Lack of Services: This is not a hotel, so don’t expect any kind of service or assistance during your stay. At $130 per night, I expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, the lack of proper amenities and maintenance meant I couldn’t enjoy my time. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless significant improvements are made.

Obstruction Pass State Park is a hidden gem located on the southwest side of Orcas Island, offering a perfect blend of woodland trails and beachfront beauty. The park features waterside campsites, interpretive trails, picnic areas, and fishing opportunities. It's considered one of the best beach access points on the island due to its scenic coastline. Visitors can enjoy a short trail leading to a rocky beach with stunning views and serene surroundings.
Easy trails down to amazing water views and a serene beach. The hike is less than half a mile, takes about 20 minutes. Lots of places to snap beautiful pictures. There is a restroom and plenty of parking. Would highly recommend.
Raina — Google review
Only two stars are from a boater's perspective. Obstruction Pass Park is somewhat unique in the fact that it is accessible by land or water. It is tucked away at the southeast corner of Orcas Island at the end of a short half-mile or so trail. The small campground is open to boaters, hikers alike. A single buoy is in the small bay, plus room to anchor. The beach is dinghy friendly, however, being open to the pass and resulting traffic makes for lots of wake action. There are trails to hike and great views. Bring your camera and lunch.
John C — Google review
Nice, easy hike with good views of the sound. I'd definitely recommend meandering down to the beach and checking out some of the tide pools.
Kyle C — Google review
There's a bunch of maintained campsites that are open to claim on arrival. Beautiful spots right on the water with lots of cool tidal sea creatures to inspect. Quick hike in, maybe three quarters of a mile. (The hermit crabs were returned to the tide pools, don't worry)
Blake T — Google review
Lovely, secluded campsites right on the cliff. There is a 0.6 mile trail down to from where the gravel road ends. There is a bike rack in the parking lot, but if you’re like me and aren’t willing to be so far away from your bike overnight the trail is walkable with a fully loaded setup, though rather inconvenient. The composting toilets are great, much better odor-wise than a traditional pit toilet, and they were fully stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer the night I was there. No water or garbages, so obviously pack in everything. Despite being secluded, if there are boaters out on the water, know that boaters are loud and sound travels quite efficiently over water. It was $12 for the night, pay via an honor system box with either cash or check. Don’t pay at the pay station in the parking lot, there is another at the campsite itself.
Waylon U — Google review
Obstruction Pass State Park is out-of-the-way and not crowded. It is a short trail to the beach and there are many campsites along the trail closer to the beach if you want a quiet beach to yourself and just a handful of other people this is the place to go on Orca Island. Don’t forget the Discover pass.
Swap — Google review
Beautiful roughly 15 minute walk from parking lot to beaches and camp sites.
Jeremy M — Google review
A beautiful park with access to shoreline beaches (a rarity on Orcas with most shoreline privately owned). This park has a circle route trail that meanders from the car park, through delightful forest to a stone pebble beach and back again. There are hike-in primitive camping sights on the cliffs above the beach. Pack out your trash. Be kind and respect the locals.

Lavendera Massage is a cozy studio that offers amazing massages. Richard, one of the therapists, provides an exceptional experience by delivering intuitive and confident pressure, leaving clients feeling completely relaxed. While there was a pricing misunderstanding for a couples massage, the staff's generosity and professionalism were highly appreciated. The team at Lavendera is known for their professional and detailed work, accommodating late arrivals with understanding. Clients highly recommend this place for its great technique and fantastic service.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our massages here! They were professional and detailed in their work. The room was comfortable and soothing. They also took time to accommodate our late arrival (due to a canceled ferry sailing), which was super appreciated! Highly recommend.

The name is changing to “Island Vitality” but had a 60 minute massage with Laura Bell which was the best massage I’ve had. It was full body, combo of therapeutic and relaxation and awesome! Highly recommend.

They were very accommodating and nice. I enjoy a deep tissue massage regularly, but unfortunately, that is not what I was able to get here. While I was able to relax, my muscles were still pretty sore when I left. It's a good place for a relaxation massage if that's what you're looking for.

Amazing massage and a cute little studio. I booked a couples massage and Richard was my therapist; he immediately made me feel comfortable and listened to my areas of need. He delivered constant, intuitive, confident pressure throughout my massage and I left feeling like a relaxed pile of mush. AKA he nailed it. This was absolutely one of the best 90min massages I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this place for your next self-care day.
Jessica V — Google review
Couples massage for our honeymoon was great but be sure to read the fine print. We booked a couples massage online after reading on their website that the price for a COUPLES MASSAGE was $170. After the massage they charged us $340--double the listed price--because the website didn't say the "couples massage" was $170 PER PERSON. When we explained the situation they only refunded us the $50 tip we left them. In short, the massage was great but far overshadowed by the misscommunication on pricing and lack of professionalism after. We won't be using them again. UPDATE: They did refund us the $170, which we appreciated immensely.

Nettle's Farm Bed & Breakfast, located in Marietta-Alderwood, is a picturesque B&B that offers well-appointed suites featuring modern kitchens and uses fresh produce sourced from their own on-site farm. With an impressive 90% rating based on two reviews, this charming accommodation provides a serene getaway. Guests can indulge in the tranquil ambiance while enjoying the opportunity to create delicious meals using top-notch ingredients.
The extras Riley offered were unique, they made a great experience even better!! Fun times creating pizzas, amazing kitchen!! Fresh coho and learning how to pin bone the salmon, were special to us! And delicious! Secluded, yet accessible to beaches, views were amazing!! Sublime sunsets! Riley was a gracious host who afforded us privacy, but was readily available. You gotta meet Stella, the cherry on top!
Denise H — Google review
We were very excited for our stay at Nettles farm based on the previous reviews and the website; however, our stay unfortunately fell short of those expectations. We were expecting to spend a lot of time outside at the property, but it was neglected and overgrown (not matching the pictures online). There were no vegetables, the chickens were never let out of the coop, and the outdoor kitchen was in an uninviting state. The house itself is nice and the kitchen is well stocked. We had to request a fan and many of the windows did not have screens, which made the house a bit hot during the day. The host, Riley, is very nice, but he forgot we were checking in that day and that we had previously requested pizza kits for both nights of our stay. He put together a pizza kit for the second night of our stay, but the dough was not made by him and it was inedible when fired in the pizza oven. Additionally, the morning of our second day he told us he would have crab and oysters for us for dinner, but at 6:20 that night he told us he wouldn't be able to get them to us. Not having food both nights was particularly difficult given the lack of food options on the island - we would have loved to have had Riley's pizza both nights as we requested given the glowing reviews other guests have given. Overall, we were disappointed in our experience, especially based on the cost. If the farm is brought back into shape, I think it would be a much better experience for guests and staying here would be a great value. In its current state, and based on our experience, we would recommend folks look for other accommodations available on the island.
Katy S — Google review
We just spent three nights at Nettles Farm (4 adults and one 3 year old) our host Riley is a super nice friendly guy. Unfortunately the property appeared to be neglected for some time, the farm had no vegetables or herbs and everything was very overgrown (nothing close to the images on the web site)The house was pretty well stocked with necessities, many of the window screens were missing so opening up the house without flys and bugs was impossible. The pizza oven and pizza kit that Riley provided was wonderful and so much fun for the adults and kids. At just over $1800 ($600 a night) we felt our $ could have been spent better elsewhere.
Scott G — Google review
Nettles Farm was a dream vacation for our family. (No easy feat for 6 adults, 1 toddler, and a goldendoodle.) Riley was a fantastic, generous, and thoughtful host. Can't say any of us have spent a week at a house that comes stocked with home-roasted coffee, farm-laid eggs, bacon cured by neighbors, and herbs from the garden. Not to mention a feast of spot prawns—a rare and delicious delicacy! Riley went out of his way to make us feel at home and show us all the magic Lummi holds. We visited beautiful beaches, walked through the forest preserves, and stocked up at the local farm stand. The island was a perfect respite for our group of citydwellers. Both Lummi and Nettles Farm are places we won't soon forget.
Elly F — Google review
My partner and I just spent a long weekend at Nettles. It’s a lovely location with access to (very safe!) road biking and some small walks. The highlight for us at the farm was a the best kitchen we’ve ever had at a BnB. More appliances and options than we have at home and a fully stocked pantry! We made a pizza in the pizza oven and exchanged baked goods with the host! Highly recommend. We will be back!
Catherine B — Google review
Nettle's farm is an oasis of relaxation, generous hospitality and wonderful food! We spent a birthday weekend there and enjoyed making pizza in a special oven with fresh ingredients. Riley, the owner, was delightful and showed us around his farm. He was generous with his time and with fresh ingredients. The kitchen in the farmhouse was well equipped with all that we needed to make wonderful dinners. Lummi Island is a great place to bike, hike and just get away from it all.
Amory C — Google review
Magical. The Nettle farmhouse was meticulously clean, beautifully architected, and was well stocked with kitchen tools. The beach was walking distance away. Riley has a great appreciation for art and has an amazing collection of work inside the farmhouse. We were able to pick fresh spinach, enjoy fresh organic eggs from the chickens on the farm, and Riley even smoked us a salmon. Fresh coffee that Riley had roasted and Nettle farmhouse jam was incredible. Our stay at the Nettle farmhouse was unbelievably bountiful. Nettle farmhouse is the best home/inn we have ever stayed in. We will for sure be returning to the Nettle farmhouse.
나히 — Google review
Lummi Island is truly a magical place, and Nettles Farm made us feel at home. The pizza oven: so fun, the crust turned out perfect every single time. The fresh eggs from his own chickens on site, bacon, bread, yogurt, and the coffee beans (roasted by the host Riley himself) was every bit of gourmet. The kitchen is equipped probably better than our own, down to all the pantry items, spices, and condiments you'll ever need. The room and bathroom are very clean, the steam/shower is a nice touch. This is a house that was designed and built with lots of love and care. And we felt honored to have experienced and stayed there. The farm and chickens made us feel very grounded and connected to the nature. Our dog had the best time of his life, his one and only experience to be roaming free from the moment he wakes up until he passes out from exhaustion. Thank you Riley for an amazing stay, we look forward to coming back. There is a COVID cleaning fee and a pet fee.

Lesson learned. I will NEVER let anyone else touch me unless i know they are reputable. This was the worst "massage" I ever had. I ended going home and straight to the emergency room because of the pain. The pain meds they gave me were barely enough to take the edge off. My sister and I both suffered the same fate after booking with this business while on vacay. 10/18/24 Two weeks, an emergency room visit, and 4 chiropractor visits later .. the most expensive massage ever. Do your research. I fully believe a refund would have been in order. My chiropractor was in shock when he examined me. How does this happen to two people in the same day, one after another? I think she relys more on the stones to take the place of an actual hands on massage. She did not touch me with her hands once. Save your money and your muscles, find a better place. Update 12/10/24 . Pain is mostly gone. I still have to baby my arm. I go to physical therapy once a week. please go back and read reviews Before you book here.

I had a fantastic and therapeutic massage by Roxanne . She was knowledgeable and offered several modalities. She is a very good communicator, and I left her table totally relaxed. Do yourself a favor when on the island, and make an appointment 😊.
Lisa M — Google review
Roxanne is so passionate about what she does and very kind but ultimately my massage was not enjoyable. She was late and started the session with a discussion about Covid which did not put me in a relaxing frame of mine. I had booked a 90-minute Medical/Sport massage but ended up receiving something altogether different with the first full 30 minutes devoted to different gongs and bells clanging next to my ear. The pressure of the massage was too light, even though I had requested firm pressure due to a sore neck. Overall, a bit disorganized and unsatisfying
Mishel F — Google review
A Massage by the Sea was an incredible and truly life giving experience for me. Prior to meeting Roxanne, I had been experiencing severe back pain for ~3 months. Within 2 sessions, Roxanne was able to make a significant improvement in my symptoms based on her deep knowledge of the muscular and nervous system. I am so grateful to have met her and for her compassionate care and attention. I highly recommend A Massage by the Sea!

Roxanne and Sukima paid attention to all the protocols with CoVid, so we both felt comfortable. They both are highly professional and ensured that we had the best possible experience for a couples massage! Hot stone massage was fantastic and the resonating of the gongs went everywhere through my body. The studio was very nice smelling and the beds are heated, if required. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back next time we visit Orcas Island! Thanks so much!!

Lopez Island Historical Museum provides an educational insight into the island's history, including the tribes that cared for the land and the development of farming. The museum showcases authentic period photos and artifacts from pioneer families, offering a comprehensive look at early settlers' lives. Visitors can explore well-laid-out exhibits inside and outside the building, with a dedicated kids' area indoors. A small donation is suggested for entry.
This a small historical museum depicting the history of Lopez Island. It well curated and the docent is a lovely life-long resident. She graciously answered all questions. We felt it was worth a hour visit.
