Château Rhianfa is a luxurious chateau located on the shores of the Menai Strait, offering stylish rooms and suites surrounded by landscaped gardens. The hotel features a private beach and stunning panoramic views over the straits from its Grade II listed Victorian villa. Guests can indulge in decadence at Le Dragon Rouge Restaurant, known for its exquisite Sunday lunch made with locally sourced ingredients.
We had our wedding at Château Rhianfa in June, and it was truly the most perfect day! The venue is absolutely stunning — it felt like a real-life fairytale. Every detail was flawless, and everything ran so smoothly thanks to Elin, our amazing wedding coordinator. She went above and beyond to make sure the whole day was stress-free and magical. All of our guests commented on how lovely the staff were and how beautiful the venue is. We honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more — it was the most wonderful day, and we’ll treasure it forever.

In keeping with the theme of an old hotel, I understood it was going to have period charm. For £297 we expected more than a tiny old and tired room with red hot piping across the ceiling and up the walls. The room was an oven. We had to have the door open most of the time. Whilst the food was nice, it was expensive for what it was. In total we laid out over £500 for one night and dinner with one round of drinks. For that I'd expect a decent room. They supplied a fan but should have moved us. Or at least acknowledged how poor our stay had been. There were very few guests staying. The main measure of a stay is 'would you go back?’

Château Rhianfa is a favourite spot of ours, the setting is absolutely breathtaking with stunning views that never disappoint. We went for afternoon tea, which was okay, but not quite the 10/10 it used to be. The tea itself used to be a lovely loose blend but has now been replaced with a standard tea bag, which felt like a step down. Outdoors, the grounds looked a little left to go wild and could do with more maintenance to really match the beauty of the building and views. That said, the location and atmosphere are still incredible and worth visiting. A bit of a mixed review overall, but the setting really is unforgettable.

This is a delayed review after staying in the hotel in June 2025. The fundamental reason for staying in any hotel is because you need a place to sleep. All the other considerations/benefits are irrelevant if you can’t get a good night’s sleep. The rooms within the lodge fail regarding this fundamental reason. There are many reasons for this failure but here are the primary ones: 1. There are no soft closers on any of the doors, and so there is a constant banging of doors whilst people are moving around. 2. The door closing wouldn’t be such an issue if there was some level of sound proofing between the rooms but there isn’t. I was able to easily listen to a conversation in the room below ours as well as our adjoining room. 3. Our room was Eleri on the top floor in the Lodge, the water system is directly above this room, if anyone in any room in this building has a shower, goes to the toilet, or runs a tap, then the occupants of this room will know it! The sound of the flow of water is surprisingly loud. 4. No air conditioning. I could go on about the poor state of repair etc but these issues pale into insignificance compared to the disturbed night’s sleep. I've been lucky enough to have owned a Grade 2 listed Tudor Thatch property, so I know what to expect from a period property and the effort required to maintain it. This property hasn't had the required effort or money invested into it's maintenance. If you read through the past reviews, you’ll see that that these issues were first raised three years ago. The response from the hotel was that a series of planned work is ongoing to resolve these issues. If a similar response is added to this review without a date for these issues to be resolved, then take it ‘as read’ that no remedial work has been undertaken. You have been warned! The restaurant is good but expensive at £70 per head for three courses, excluding drinks. The gardens have a nice layout but are poorly maintained, the attentiveness of the staff is poor and the time to get drinks during the day is very long. The main hotel, whilst having some nice period features, is a maze of small rooms with a lot of stairs, reflecting the fact that this is a listed building that was originally a private dwelling and so not an ideal room layout for a hotel. All in all, this hotel does nothing to justify the cost of £220 per night, stay somewhere else, where you can get a good night’s sleep. The approach taken by the management to honest but critical reviews like this one, is not to fight it but to add two or three positive reviews immediately afterwards - let's see if they are true to form.

We stayed at this stunning hotel to celebrate my Mum's birthday. I was expecting there to be 2 separate beds in the room my daughter and I were sharing but there was just one large bed. I asked a member of staff if there was a twin room we could have, but she said there was only one twin room in the Château, which was already taken and it wasn't as nice anyway. So just be warned - if you think you're booking a twin room it may not be the case. Our room was indeed lovely, but didn't have a view and had an insanely noisy bathroom fan! Mum's room didn't have a view either (we explored elsewhere in the hotel to see the wonderful view). Mum's room had an amazing shower which was actually in one of the Château's turrets. The staff had written a birthday card for Mum which was a great touch. We ate out at night and had breakfast in the hotel - breakfast was fine, but nothing special. Our minor criticisms, however, pale into insignificance in comparison to the gorgeous Château grounds, the delightful building, and the amazing views!

Cracked bathroom floor, broken shower door seal, rusty radiator and light above basin. Toilet valve sticking so not refilling for next flush. Food not something we would go back for. They apparently ran out of horseradish sauce at Sunday lunch and no-one thought to go and buy any to go with the beef for the evening diners. Roast potatoes were probably deep fried, definitely not roasted, and served with fake gravy all over that wasn't even served separately should it not be wanted. Looked forward to a cooked breakfast but disappointed to find it had obviously all been cooked and put out for an 8am start. It was cold by 8.50 so didn't eat it all. Breakfasts served to 10.30!! Location perfect, but the gardens were as tired and unloved as everything else which made the whole experience one that we won't repeat. A great shame, because there is great potential at Château Rhianfa to be amazing.
Jenny — Google review
We were looking for somewhere a bit special to stay for a weekend away, I'm not sure how I stumbled across Chateau Rhianfa, but I am soooo glad that I did! We have spent the best weekend here that you could imagine... Firstly it's a chateau... ITS A CHATEAU, my wife just kept saying she felt like a princess. On arrival it's absolutely stunning and you can't appreciate how beautiful it is until you wander in the beautiful gardens and look up at the Chateau (magical when it's lit up at night too) The staff have been amazing all weekend, they remembered our names, they were chatty, friendly, knowledgeable and just genuinely outstanding people. The lady on reception was amazing and was great chatting about how haunted the place is! The restaurant, Le Dragon Rouge, yes it's pricey for the meal, but the food is nothing short of incredible. We stayed 2 nights to tried a variety of meals and everything just blew us away! The service was outstanding throughout (try the local Welsh wine, it was our favourite) We stayed in the lodge about 20 meters from the main chateau, it had the most amazing Menai Straight view and seeing the clouds / sunlight and changing weather through the day made it so magical. It was beautifully clean, we got the bed made each day and fresh towels (this was a lovely unexpected touch and made is feel soo at home and welcomed) The breakfast was so tasty and perfectly cooked, massive shout for the excellent size of juice glasses at breakfast, not the tiny thimble sized ones you often get... It's totally silly thing, but it made me happy to be able to get a substantial amount of juice on a glass! Lastly, the nooks and crannies, there are so many little places to sit with a drink, or just have a lovely view out. The wine cave... Look up, the seating area above is almost hidden but so cozy and lovely to sit in. It made the hotel so magical to be in and around. The summer terrace off the front lounge was beautiful for an hour, we sat with a drink, it was warm and the view was incredible, the spaces saved for weddings, from the views we snatched inside were nothing short of princess / Disney magic worthy! If we renew our vows (again) we are doing it here! We were gutted when it was time to come home, genuinely gutted as we had so much fun and it has left such an impression on us! Well done to the staff, as they made go from something amazing to genuinely outstanding and we are already looking at when we can get back!

Move over Channel 4's Escape to the Château. This is the real escape to the château. To pick fault would be churlish but I did witness 1 or 2 guests having issues. My stay was brilliant: location, room, staff and food all first class. I'd happily go back in a heartbeat.

The Anglesey Arms is a Georgian hotel that offers rooms with seaside-inspired decor and complimentary Wi-Fi. It is located near the Bridge Inn and welcomes both diners and guests in need of dog-friendly accommodation. The pub has various seating options, including an extensive beer garden, outdoor seating area, and dog-friendly tables in the bar. Like many other pubs on this list, they provide water bowls and treats for dogs upon arrival.
My husband, friend, dog and I really enjoyed our couple of days at this hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient. A present for the dog was in our room. We had lovely toiletries, too. The bed was huge and comfortable. The room was lovely and warm. My friend's room was comfortable, too. The meals were very good, and the menu was very extensive. The rooms are all on the second floor and above. So anyone with mobility issues (the dog and I) may have difficulty with the stairs. We were aware of this before booking, though.

Booked in for our final meal of our holiday, exceeded our expectations! David our server was faultless, best service we’ve ever had and would not have had a better experience without him! Food was delicious and an amazing pub quiz to finish.. would highly recommend!
Kate J — Google review
Only came for a meal, but the staff were exceptional, really lovely and made you feel very welcome. The food was also really great! I would recommend this place to anyone.
Nathan S — Google review
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere and beautiful décor. The food was really nice and the outdoor space is brilliant, especially with the children’s play area which kept the kids happy. Only downside was that the toilets weren’t very clean, which let it down slightly. Other than that, everything else was spot on, would happily rate 10/10 for food, service and atmosphere.

Great garden, great location, prices reasonable, good selection of food, nice out door seating. However... ran out of burgers at 7pm! Was going to put 4 stars however changed back to 5 as the burgers could have been THAT good that they sold out? Haha.

Don't go ANYWHERE else to stay as the staff are exceptional, location is perfect...and the room AND food 10/10. We can't wait to visit again soon. Finally, a special THANK YOU to Will the general manager who goes above and beyond 🙏 and has an outstanding staff team!!!

Food excellent here. Good parking. Will return. Dog friendly and takes bookings. Did not stay so can’t comment on the rooms. Found the staff helpful & friendly.

Poped in here last week for a quick drink on our way home after a day out. Atmosphere is great Drinks are very expensive and food is pricey. In a great location if visiting the island and easy to find. Just make sure you input you car registration into the screen by the bar now that some private company owns the car park which is mad!

The hotel offers complimentary WiFi and modern amenities like climate control and work desks for added comfort. What a lovely place, great view of the bay from our room. It was well stocked, very clean and quiet with a large balcony. (Room 704). Staff were super. Friendly and helpful without being overbearing or loitering. Food was delicious, and the breakfast was freshly cooked to order. Car park is free for residents but remember to buy your reg number into the tablet at the check in desk. The swimming pool was a super temperature and really nice. We will be back.

Had a lovely long weekend break in October. We felt very welcome and felt comfortable having our dogs along with us, as they were welcome in the dining areas. We had never visited the area before and found it perfect for walking on the beach and exploring. Lovely hotel room with bay views and excellent tea/ coffee facilities in the room.
Debbie O — Google review
We had a wonderful stay here on the Coastal Break offer mid October. As a family, we stay in Trearddur Bay every summer so to come back with our 2m old baby was very special! The hotel was so accommodating for baby, making sure we had a table at breakfast with space for our pram, storing our pram downstairs for us and having a fridge in the room to store milk. The staff very friendly and we had a lovely stay.

A great place for architecture. Can use wheelchairs but not every where. There is a shuttle car for going from the hotel to the top. But best to ask when booking. As the do have a top hotel as well. But well worth a shuttle to the lower hotel leavel for the views.

We arrived early in Holyhead for the ferry to Dublin. With time to kill and Holyhead not offering very much, we headed to Trearddur Bay, approx 15 min drive. It would be a lovely place to spend a short beach holiday or weekend. Nice beach, shops restaurants and rooms to rent. But it is a summer place. Would not recommend for cold wintery days. But nice in the summer sun. Had a meal and headed back for Ferry sailing. Further to my review and reply from hotel. I do apologise if you thought I was critical of the hotel in wintertime. Tjis was not my intension, as I have no idea what you offer during this season. I was pointing out, that it is a seaside area with a nice bay and beach, which would not be practical for the winter. But would be open to what you offer during off season.

We had the best 1 night stay with our dog, he loved his doggy treat box ❤️ Beautiful sea view, lovely clean room, comfortable bed. Our evening meal was delicious, the staff very knowledgeable and attentive. Breakfast was outstanding! Egg's Benedict were the best I've ever had. The lovely friendly staff made our stay even more special ❤️ We can't wait to come again... very soon 🥰

Very nice and clean hotel. The reception and porter staff are brilliant. They are very welcoming and professional. The restaurant food is high quality. Breakfast was good and again cannot fault the service received. The service level is like a 5* plus hotel. The bed was comfortable. I didn’t want to wake up for work! The room was spacious and clean. Very well presented. Big thanks to Vicki, Kacey, David & the porter lads.

Just got back from our second stay at the Trearddur bay hotel. Really enjoyed it, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Lovely quiet, clean room with a great view of the sea. Lots of choice of food at breakfast and evening meals were good too, with plenty to choose from the menu. Spacious warm swimming pool...can't beat it, look forward to our next trip. Five minutes from shops, bars and restaurants and some lovely walks too.

Nestled in 11 acres of stunning gardens and woodland, Tre-Ysgawen Hall, Country House Hotel & Spa is a luxurious 19th-century mansion offering elegant rooms and top-notch amenities. The hotel boasts a state-of-the-art spa with a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, whirlpool, solarium, and gymnasium. Guests can indulge in various spa treatments at the Beauty/Therapy Suite.
The hotel, and grounds are amazing. If your looking for a clean, relaxing environment to unwind this hotel ticks all the boxes. Arrived at 6 the spa closes at 7 so went for a swim, steam room and jacuzzi before having the best meal I think I've had in 40 years. Lasagne was hands down the best I've had ever period. In Venice last year and it didn't come close to what I just experienced. The salad with balsamic vinger and parmasan dressing was a great combo. Washed it down with the perfect pint of Cobra and finished it off with an authentic tiramisu. Overall its a 10/10 for a r and r trip away with the misses.

Well what can I say.... On arrival thought we had struck lucky... How wrong were we. The room looked OK on the surface but look deeper and you will see the truth. Skirting boards full of dust... Water marks down the walls.. Bed so uncomfortable we felt sea sick if the other person moved. Just outside our room were dirty glasses sitting on the radiator and part opened packs of water bottles that were there the next morning. Restaurant food was good and the chef was very attentive regarding allergies. I don't expect to hear a member of staff being spoken to by what I presumed was management in a derogatory way in front of customers. On check out all the staff were outside smoking and not attending to customers. A month yes a whole month to get a response which was a free spa... I don't want a free spa I didn't use the spa I used the hotel. I was told the mattress had been changed and the wall repainted but the wall was wallpapered. Work that one out. I've stayed in some wonderful hotels over the years but this was one of the worst... A month is way too long for a response to a complaint they need to make sure there is someone to deal with issues available 24/7.

An Unforgettable Stay – Highly Recommended! What truly sets this hotel apart is the level of service. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. It’s clear they genuinely care about their guests' experience. The food at the restaurant was as delicious as it looked!! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and will definitely recommend it to friends and family. Five stars all the way!

Bedroom smart. Bed 🛌 very comfy!. I slept well. Tv couldn't keep any picture on long enough to watch. Spa facilities are very good. Nice and clean. However, it can only provide treatment service massage, etc, for one person at a time, which was very disappointing when requested by booking in advance. Short staffed, maybe? Staff are nice and friendly, but again, very few or double up doing a number of different roles. The restaurant is very overpriced for the average pub food. I have never seen scrambled eggs that look like rice before. I actually didn't think it was possible to get scrambled eggs so very, very wrong... how wrong was I ✨️😬

Had a lovely couple of days with the family. Great remote location to relax and unwind but not too far from attractions. Halal options available which made the stay even more enjoyable. The swimming pool and spa/ gym was also a great addition to the stay. The rooms were inviting and grand with lots of original features kept. Liam (head chef) was very accommodating to our needs and would like to give him a ‘thumb's up’. All the staff were very polite and welcoming. Great place to stay and unwind.

Just had a 1 night stay here. We had the ex bridal suite which was very big and comfortable. The bathroom is new but not finished to a good standard. The fan in our room was absolutely disgustingly dirty. Broken ironing board. The bed was comfy. The whole hotel is very dated and clearly the carpets have not been hoovered in a while. The spa was ok, needs more attention on the cleaning and the jacuzzi water was full of foam which indicates it isn’t cleaned properly. The restaurant food was nice, though I had to send my stone cold garlic bread back. Breakfast was very average. My partner could not eat the poached eggs as they had been cooked in so much vinegar. All in all a very average hotel, wouldn’t be in a hurry to return, especially for £190 for 1 night ! Need lots of money spending on it.
Amy C — Google review
The room was lovely, a lot more attention to dusting and vacuuming could have been paid though. Occasionally dust the headboard and vacuum under the desk and in the wardrobes. Spa was beautiful setting and nature walks were lovely. Staff and food was exceptional.
Tab A — Google review
Sadly disappointed. I wanted to love this hotel, it had everything I love on paper, antiques, old rooms and grandure from another time..but sadly that did not portray in real life. Firstly the room, from first glance looked lovely but actually after being in it for a while there were many flaws! As you will see from the pictures! It wasn't hoovered, there is clearly something leaking from above, the picture you see is it dried but when we woke in the morning it was wet and spreading. The wall paper was peeling off the walls and the windows were dirty. As for the bathroom, firstly look at the picture of the shampoo/shower gel, that's scum!! And it's disgusting! Secondly, if you value the condition of your hair (especially women) and are using the spa, but forget your own shampoo/conditioner DO NOT use what they provide, I don't know what it was in the bottle but it absolutely ruined my hair, turned it to dry straw after using it once and I could not even get a comb through it without feeling it was going to break I had to send my husband out first thing for my usual stuff to try and fix it. There's no personal touches to this hotel, and it's on need of some tlc in places. We had room 9 and it was right next to a vent system which was noisy? Then there's the food, we had a meal at the restaurant for my husbands birthday, I wish we hadn't honestly. I chose what I thought would be a safe option, spaghetti Bolognese, you can't go wrong right? Oh you can, it was watery and tasteless, and I couldn't eat it, even my husband tried it and didn't like it and he eats anything! My husband had a steak, medium, it was medium in the middle! And the "truffle mash" wasn't truffle at all. For a restaurant charging what they charge why are you giving guests paper thin tiny napkins? Give us a proper napkins like you had on the tables in the corner where you were not seating anyone!! The breakfast choice was good though, although majority of the cooked breakfast is not cooked fresh to order.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here following a local recommendation… the food, value for money , service and ambiance was second to none. The presentation of food was stunning and we both enjoyed the complex & wonderful flavours of each dish …. thanks to Miley for her exceptional service. Our night was wonderful and would highly recommend here for all occasions. You won’t be disappointed.

I want to love this place and I do but the food doesn’t have the wow factor. The decor and staff are lovely, but the food just isn’t. We went for an evening meal, I had the lamb which was okay but it was so salty and the gravy tasted like Bisto. Definitely wasn’t worth £27. My partner had the pork belly which was cremated. The waitress came and checked on the food as we were finishing, so at this point he didn’t want to complain so left it. For the price, the food at the oyster catcher is a million times better.

We visited SMH a few times while staying in the area. The food was fantastic and there is a great range of drinks. All of the staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. The front bar area and the rear garden are both dog friendly, which was great. The bars and restaurants are well designed, and there is plenty of space to move around. A great place for a quick drink, an afternoon out or a meal in the evening. We really enjoyed our visits and would definitely recommend it.

I and my family have eaten here on several occasions and can only say that it is second to none. Both the food and the service is 5 star. We have never stayed here as such as we have our own house in Rhosneigr but we are told that the rooms are also very comfortable and also fall into the 5 star category. I strongly suggest that a booking here is a MUST for any trip to Rhosneigr.

Looks like a 5 star aesthetically but food doesn't match the decor.....staff good but over all feel is they know there's nowhere else to go for food at times so standards are poor......my burger was raw mentioned it but shrugged off......not great......🤨

The food seems to have gone downhill since my last visit! We visited for lunch, I ordered the king prawns in garlic & chilli which was lovely but it only had 6 prawns and two pieces of bread for £11, way overpriced! My lunch companion had the fish goujon ciabatta which was good but let down by a sad looking salad and really cheap coleslaw, yuk!! The side of chips were ok but not worth £5! I'm local to the area but I won't be hurrying back which is sad as the venue and staff are lovely!

Had an excellent lunch sat out in the late October sun. Lovely staff, a great meal at a great price, 25% off food at certain times of the day and week. A great view over the Anglesey countryside down to the local town of Cemaes. Will definitely be back at the first opportunity.

Just stopped here for a meal on the way back home. It was by far the best meal we've had all holiday! If I could give them more than 5*s to reflect how much better they were, I certainly would have The food was fantastic and lots of it, even the desserts were incredible. The service was really fast and friendly helpful staff throughout An absolute top recommendation for Anglesey from us

Gadlys Hotel is in a lovely location above Cemaes Bay. A large terrace with seating outside looks to the bay and a sunset on clear evenings. Large glass windows of the restaurant provide lovely views. We stopped for dinner this evening and ordered the mini fish and chips, which was still a good sized portion. There is an extensive menu offering burgers, pizza and hake Thai style, steaks and much more. The service was friendly. We enjoyed our meal.

Very, very, very nice food. Meat so soft. Veg so interesting. Staff lovely. Bar / restaurant area very nice. Price not too high - slightly higher than a pub but by no means a "second mortgage" job. Food of the sort of quality you get at high-end establishments but with proper portions and ingredients you can actually recognise. Would go again.

We had a lovely dinner here on Friday and Nell our server was super! We were shocked to find out she is so young and going to college. She really looked after us. I had the chicken starter and the pressed lamb main course. Delicious - Pint of Wainright Gold in the bar beforehand and a glass of Merlot with my meal - busy place so i recommend booking. Dogs are allowed only at one end of the place - and there were plenty of people in there with dogs! Great view of the bay

The food here is excellent and is complimented by everything else from the lovely service and staff to the gorgeous view. We had the fried squid to start which was quite remarkable and the flavour balance in the batter and the herbs was perfectly done. For our main, it was the fish and chips, and it didn’t disappoint at all, it was very well presented and the flavours were spot on. I wasn’t particularly impressed with the passion fruit and mango cheesecake but its just a good excuse to try a different dessert next time. We will definitely be visiting again. The pricing was average for this area, there is no service charge on the bill so we have added that separately.

Nestled in the charming town of Amlwch, Anglesey, The Lastra Farm Hotel & Self Catering Apartments invites you to experience a delightful blend of history and comfort. Housed in a beautifully restored 17th-century farmhouse, this traditional lodging offers complimentary Wi-Fi and a hearty Welsh breakfast to start your day right. Guests can indulge in an array of culinary delights at the on-site restaurant and bar, which serves everything from morning coffee to dinner.
Having long known Lastra Farm Hotel over many years, my most recent stay being for the sad occasion of a family funeral. Stayed for a couple of nights in self-catering accommodation which was just perfect. Quiet, clean, modern with everything we required including a particularly comfortable bed. We’d have no hesitation in staying again in happier circumstances. The funeral tea provided was fresh, wholesome, plentiful and beautifully set out, and was sensitively and unobtrusively served. Thank you, Elaine, Adrian and staff.

Stayed for one night and couldn’t have been more impressed. The room was modern, spotlessly clean, and the bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was a real highlight—locally sourced, beautifully cooked, and absolutely delicious. The service throughout was exceptional: friendly, professional, and welcoming. We had a peaceful, restful night’s sleep—very quiet surroundings. A perfect base for exploring this side of the island. Highly recommended!

We booked almost last minute, and it was an absolute pleasure to spend the night here. Elaine was a wonderful host—warm, welcoming, and attentive. She even recommended a lovely restaurant in the bay, as their own was closed on Tuesday evenings. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and offered beautiful views over the fields. It was also very quiet—just what we needed after a 7-hour journey. We couldn’t be happier and would highly recommend this place!

We have eaten here several times in the past but not for a good while. Have been twice in the last month or so. Sunday lunch today and previously a midweek dinner. If you go for Sunday lunch don't be tempted to have a starter. Portions are generous. The meals we had were nice and good value. The stand out feature of the restaurant for me are the staff. Service was exceptional. Will definitely be back.
Mike B — Google review
Fantastic stay. Everything was clean and well kept with a beautiful view and plenty of space even in a smaller room. The restaurant was brilliant with fab food and drink. And if you could find better more caring and considerate staff, please let me know because the staff here are exceptional. Thank you for a wonderful stay x

We have just stayed for one night. The location is very nice and open , host very welcoming. The breakfast was also nicely cooked and well presented. The reason for 3 stars is our room , although spotlessly clean , smelt of dogs and there was a ‘welcome dog’ pack in our room. All I could smell all night was dogs and the neutrodol air freshener. I have checked the details and apart from saying it’s a pet friendly hotel I couldn’t see anything that suggested we were booked in a room used for dogs. Personally I think guests should be made aware of pet friendly rooms . I certainly wouldn’t have booked had I known about this.

Our group of six have recently had a four night break at Lastra, all of us couldn't speak highly enough of the cleanliness & quality of the accommodation. The food was first class, & all of the staff were very friendly & accomodating, especially Dan, we all hope to return soon.

What a fall from grace! Was last here2 years ago and had a brilliant meal! Last night I took my young family there and have never had to complain and leave an establishment, before even been served our main before! Staff are friendly and trying, but are woefully under trained and under staffed! Food quality is very poor for the price point! Hopefully they can sort going forward as it’s a great building in a great spot!

What's more to say, good food, good location, friendly and helpful staff. Hey eating outside can be an issue, seagull problem, but that's normal for these places. In sum we had great food, dogs were welcomed and looked after and a nice little soujorn on our day out.

Right on the main street in Beaumaris and a lot bigger on the inside than you would think from the outside. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Food was very delicious. An okay selection of alcoholic drinks and reasonable priced. Would definitely visit again.
Nat C — Google review
It breaks my heart to say this since I have been coming to The Bull with the family for many years, but it was clear this year that the standards have gone completely downhill. The restaurant manager and food offerings are nowhere near as good as they used to be. One night we waited one hour for the food. My husband's meal seemed to be like a ready meal. On the day we left, there was instant coffee, intermittent bread and butter, no tongs to pick up the bread which everyone was handling. The beautiful pain au chocolat that used to be there are now clearly freezer heat and serve. The staff seem to be unhappy and not properly trained. I cannot blame the manager for kitchen staff not coming to work, but I can blame her for not listening to customers. She spent most of the evening talking the tables around us down, to prevent them from making a complaint, ignoring the other customers. There is a lot of goodwill for The Bull built up over years (this place was stellar), but this will be lost if things continue like this. The Inn Group need to stop cutting corners to reduce costs and look at the staffing and training situation urgently!!
Anne B — Google review
Came for a few drinks with friends of an evening. Staff were very friendly and very helpful when recommending menu items and drinks. The Bull Inn is definitely worth a visit if you ever pass through Beaumaris. Whether you’re local or on holiday ❤️

Could be great - clearly short staffed on day we ate there (? Need more staff?) Made a booking but on arrival took them about 10mins to sort a table - just had us stood in a busy bar area with no communication as they tried to make a table. Service then was terrible - was bar ordering which took about 15mins until served due to only one staff taking orders and making drinks, not a nice relaxing experience at all. Food was nice, however cheese and onion pie ordered for two of our party and was meat pie when it arrived - terrible! Outside beer garden is lovely. Need more staff and better orgainisation.

The Gazelle Hotel, situated in Menai Bridge and just 24 miles from Holyhead, is a classic 4-star hotel offering comfortable rooms, a restaurant, and a bar. The hotel provides free breakfast and Wi-Fi for guests. It's conveniently located near various dining options such as Burger King, Starbucks, Subway, and a supermarket. The hotel offers clean and comfortable family rooms with nice bathroom facilities. Guests can enjoy beautiful scenery right outside the hotel.
The location and incredible view is why you come here. Also handy for the coastal path. However, it has lots of other good points. The mussels (starter) were fresh and massive, although needed some more bread... order a side of chips if you have sense. The risotto was brilliant, topped with a perfect poached egg. I'd have it again right now. All of that served with that view right on front of you. My double room (no 5) was a reasonable price and best described as bijou. The bathroom is lovely and had an incredible shower. Located at the rear of the hotel so no amazing view. I expected more beer choice and was a bit disappointed to find none of the better Robinson's staples like Old Tom available, even in bottles. All in all though a decent place... and that view!

This hotel occupies a stunning location - right on the front of Menai Straits where we had dinner. Dinner was fabulous. Great choice at a reasonable price. We had such a great night we booked 2 nights accommodation late November,
Julie H — Google review
The rooms are clean but very small, light switches and plugs seem to be in the wrong places, tv was on the window sill not on the wall bracket that was still on the wall, it wasn't designed to be a hotel at all, the plumbing is very very loud, you can hear running taps and flushed toilets threw the night, we even heard people yawning, the location is amazing, we did not use the food or bar facilities. Overall a basic place trying to be a posh place ie the bathroom is stunning, the bedroom very basic, the hallway to the rooms is very nice, the stairs very basic (banister very loose)

Food is absolutely amazing and views from our room are fantastic. 100% book again. only thing is the stairs are too dark needs painting a lighter colour or put more lighting there make it more safer for your customers . The pillows were too soft and duet was too thick made it very hot even had the windows open all night .Also need more shelves in bathroom to put your things on. Otherwise everything else was very good.

The Valley Hotel is a family-run establishment with bright rooms and a bar & grill restaurant. It was once a traditional coaching house on the Holyhead to London route, now offering real ales and homemade food, including a Sunday carvery with a choice of meats and seasonal vegetables. Located on the Welsh island of Anglesey, the hotel features Welsh slate and rustic charm in its recently refurbished main bar. The hotel's proximity to the ferry port to Ireland makes it convenient for travelers.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the valley and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and a level of hospitality that made me feel right at home. The rooms were absolutely beautiful—spacious, tastefully decorated, and impeccably clean. Every detail, from the plush bedding to the stunning views, was thoughtfully curated, making for a truly relaxing environment. It was easy to unwind in such a well-maintained space. What truly stood out was the staff's commitment to ensuring every guest had a memorable experience. They were attentive without being intrusive and were always ready to offer recommendations or assistance when needed. Their friendliness added a personal touch that often goes missing in larger hotels. I highly recommend the valley to anyone looking for a fantastic stay in Anglesey… The combination of stunning accommodations and top-notch service makes it a place I can't wait to return to! Below are some photos of the room I stayed at in all its glory, all in all every happy with my time as a resident here in the valley

The staff are friendly and the rooms clean. However, the hotel is looking a little tired and the mattress was uncomfortable. Nonetheless, it offered decent value for money. Breakfast is good and made to order (you can order as much of each item as you want, which isn't made clear!) but it took a while for them to cook. Make sure you head down for breakfast early or you'll be waiting a while!

Arrived soaking wet after cycling in a rainstorm The staff were lovely and allowed us to sit where we could see our bikes. We had delicious coffee and an equally delicious warming bowl of soup. Many thanks to Valley Hotel

You get what you're told, its clean, staff are friendly. The main menu is great with lots of choice. The food itself was very nice and to a good standard. The room was what we needed for our trip to Anglesey, although it was small it was clean and has all the facilities expected. There is a play area to the back which is great if you have children and there is plenty of parking. Its a short drive to Trearddur Bay. The reason for the 4 star is the breakfast could be better, no decaf options also there wasn't any fruit if you like a healthier option. The hotel is on a busy junction and unfortunately when we stayed the window cleaner turned up quite early (8.30am and a Bank Holiday) which wasn't great for us on a break, but this may not bother other people. For the money it was worth the stay. 👍

Absolutely shocking carvery service. Luckily my partner got a refund without any hesitation! Really appreciate the refund. The meat is all carved together and I cannot believe my eyes what we were seeing. Dry beef, mixing meats together and we cannot believe it. It looks like slop on a plate so don't bother with a carvery at all!!! I hope no one else has the misfortune of going to the carvery!!!

Nice hotel for a short stay or a stopover for the ferry to Dublin, it is well placed for a visit to Anglesey and surrounding areas, it's close to RAF valley so there is a bit of aircraft noise now and again, blood shops near by and food and drink were ok and not overpriced.

Great hotel but AVOID ROOM 10 as it is far too hot and can't be cooled down, a portable fan is the only relief from the heat which is at a uncomfortable level. Other than that the hotel is great. Had a lovely relaxing afternoon in the bar. Evening meal wasn't brilliant but edible. The room we had was for disabled. The hand bars were full of dust and the paint was peeling of the pipe on the radiator. The first thing you saw as you walk in is the black marks on the window frame. Needs a new blind in the bathroom. Once these are sorted it will be a much better room.

Wonderful 3 night stay at the end of Sept this year and last year. Really love the Victorian character of this grand old hotel. Beautiful location. We landed on this by chance, I don’t normally like hotels, just too many bad experiences. If every hotel was like this one, I would happily do more. If you book here, you won’t be disappointed. This is a family run hotel, the owner was around and helpful. The staff wasn’t just helpful, but actually liked their job. Bar staff did a great job, also had a coffee and cake bit. It’s spotless, breakfast was brilliant, staff also again helpful and so friendly at breakfast with lots of choices. Both reception staff, helpful, happy and couldn’t do enough. Room was spotless and had everything you need. Perfect location for everything around, if you have a dog, it’s perfect stay for them too. Thank you so much, for making our stay perfect! We will be back! Lisa, Jay and Betsy the Lab

We have just returned from having spent a wonderful long weekend relaxing at the Bulkeley Hotel. This place oozes character and charm and has to be one of the best ‘dog friendly’ hotels that we have ever stayed at. We stayed is a basic inland room which was more than adequate for our needs, with a large bathroom and lots of storage space. We found all the staff, without exception, helpful and friendly. To top it all off the food was lovely too! We will definitely be coming back!

I spent the penultimate day of my summer holidays here in August 2025. This place is a fantastic place. I hope and plan to return. It would be best to return bringing with me some delectable lady company to enjoy and share this place together. I hope to sample their bedrooms, bar and restaurant again next time. The staff at this hotel are excellent. This place harks back to fabulous historical times, the good old days. Live life in the past as it was meant to be. Fabulous. A new and old favourite. Never been to Beaumaris before - but I would like to come again.

First impressions were promising—a great location and a beautiful building. Unfortunately, things began to unravel the moment we interacted with the staff. Doubts about the hotel’s quality quickly crept in, and by the time we reached our room, any sense of optimism had vanished. The carpet was filthy and ripped, the bathroom had a dented bin lid, there was no toilet brush, and chipped paintwork was just the beginning. Even the lift had incorrectly labelled buttons. At the bar, my girlfriend ordered an Espresso Martini. The barman didn’t know how to make it and, even after being guided by another staff member, still got it wrong. Breakfast service was a mess on both mornings. Guests were waiting over 15 minutes for basic items like tea, coffee, toast, or even fried eggs and bacon. The staff were clearly inexperienced and lacked training—not their fault, but a direct failure of management. I emailed the General Manager twice asking for a response. I received nothing. That silence speaks volumes about his lack of care, passion, or responsibility. But don’t just take my word for it—check in, waste your money, and see for yourself. Maybe now I’ll get a email!

We stayed 29/30 August 25 - will definitely return. Extremely lovely staff in Reception & Restaurant all approachable & so pleasant to talk to. In particular thanks to John undertaking night security who kept checking on me in the early hours when I came down to read a book in the lounge area. So kind. Dinner & breakfast delicious - really enjoyed. Facing the street was a little noisy going to bed but it certainly didn’t stop us have a good sleep as it became very quiet - apart from seagulls of course 🐦 but of course that goes with the sea front location - perfect for wandering.

I have been waiting to take my mom and dad for a while. The hotel didn't’ disappoint. Fabulous service, food superb. Had an inland room which was spotless and comfortable. Only negative was the shower had no power. We are already organising our return trip.

My favourite hotel in Anglesey. Beautiful views with old world charm... we had a 4 poster bed that was so comfy to sleep on. It's right in the middle of the town so you can just step out of the front door and all of Beaumaris is right there... the shops, the cafes and of course the castle. Can't recommend it enough 🥰

The Black Boy Inn Four & Six Restaurant & Bar is a historic medieval inn in Wales, known for its locally sourced Welsh dining and seafood specials. It is one of the oldest pubs in Wales, offering a great selection of beers and comfortable ancient rooms for those brave enough to stay the night. The inn's surroundings include Caffi Maes and the smallest bar in Wales, perfect spots to enjoy local food and watch the world go by.
Great place to stay, central location, room was really and had everything we needed. Staff were super friendly. Dinner was great quality and good value with no waiting. Only downside is the lack of parking, though a short walk away is free parking after 16:30 till 10:00

Stayed here this weekend (2 nights). Fantastic pub and cosy rooms, really friendly staff. The pubs has two bars plus a restaurant area, all of which have a great atmosphere and classic pub feels. We had breakfast included which was a help yourself to drinks and cereals/ yogurts/ fruits plus a cooked option which you order. Went for the Welsh breakfast both mornings which was good. Also ate in the bar one evening and had wings to start followed by the burger. You can order from the table using a QR code however that didn't include the specials so we had to order from the bar in the end. Not a problem at all. Good location next to the castle. Would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic experience at The Black Boy Inn! The food was spot on — fresh, full of flavour and served nice and hot. The beer was great too, really good selection and perfectly poured. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed but lively at the same time. You can tell there’s real care and pride in what they do here. Definitely one of the best places around for good food and a proper pint. Highly recommend! 🍻

Restaurant looking good, very cosy (at least room first on right). I receive very tasty lamb shank, and my wife got a lovely pie, all piping hot. Not cheap but not crazy expensive either. We left restaurant full and satisfied. Highly recommended!!

The location itself is fine, the pub is a historic inn, located within the castle walls and looked worth a visit when we were looking at places to eat and drink. We didn't have a meal here but dropped in twice during our stay in the town. Both occasions I had the pleasure of being served by one of the rudest members of staff I've ever encountered. Definitely won't bother again.

Can’t comment on the hotel/rooms as we just visited the restaurant. Ordered the lasagne and mixed grill. The mixed grill was fine but the lasagne was really odd - not at all like the traditional dish - no layers, no sauce in the mince, no white sauce - just minced beef with a sheet of lasagne on top and topped with chopped tomatoes and cheese. Really bizarre and not at all to our taste. Can’t say we would return but the atmosphere was nice, service was fine - maybe we just ordered the wrong dish!

A return stay at Black Boy Inn, we’ve enjoyed their unique and spacious rooms inside the confines of the old walled city. The beds have all been very comfy. They have 16 on-site parking spots (albeit snug), with 4 EV chargers at 22kw. They’ve a Restaurant, a Pub, and a Bar. The included Breakfast was a very good start to the day.

Great hotel with lovely rooms. Can bit a tad noisy while the bars still open. But the hotel is smack bang in the castle walls. It has great historical information all around the hotel and gardens.

Seacroft is a traditional Welsh bar and grill restaurant with rooms that offer free breakfast. The food is locally sourced and well cooked, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The pub is in Trearddur Bay, which is a popular tourist destination with good amenities such as restaurants, shops, and bars.
Staff were lovely. The food was great quality and good value for money. The sweets were expensive however that's the norm wherever you go nowadays and you don't have to have them. We were a little confused as when booking we were looking for 7 pm for 8 people and was told they could only accommodate us at 5 pm, although the majority of tables were empty when we left at 8.15pm Maybe the kitchen closes early, not sure I'll ask next time All in all a great meal, good location, lovely staff, we'll be back before the weekend Christian Kelly Philbin Leonard family

A group of us went for a meal to this pub last month and I was expecting better. Very understaffed for the type of venue ended up ordering our own desserts at the till and then coffees as there were no staff to hand. The food portions were small for what you were paying, presented on small tapas style dishes to make you think you are getting more for you money. Although the food was tasty to be fair after it finally arrived on a quiet evening. The desserts were the most disappointing part of the meal. Once again very small portions of Sticky toffee pudding and lemon sponge with a dessert spoon of custard on the side! A Brookie (Half brownie and half cookie) was ordered also and it was rock solid! Who on earth pulls out a tray bake like this out of the fridge and puts it on a plate without microwaving it for at lease 15s to soften it. Quite the task to get the dessert spoon though it. Overall its a nice venue for drinks and a catch up but will not be going back for food anytime soon.

Lovely clean and tidy place, decor tasteful. Service as expected. Shame i had to ask why i had not replaced the beans/ black pudding on my breakfast with an alternative! Tried to charge the same until i said if not replaced i would expect a price reduction. Fortunately, he reduced the cost and apologised. Saying i should have said at the time, i said I did, but the waiter didn't listen. Shame it took the shine off, what would have been 5 stars.

The surroundings are beautiful and it's really good that children and dogs are made welcome. There is good disabled access via ramps but would not fit large mobility scooters. The restaurant is airy and the tables are not squashed together. There is a good variety of food available on the menu. The young man who served our desserts was a superstar. He was very proactive and offered good service. The Manager promptly and efficiently dealt with an issue that arose. The Seacroft is in good hands with this Manager.

Came to eat here during our stay in Anglesey at the start for the summer holidays. Found the staff very rude, three youngish girls stood at the bar more interested in their conversation than serving customer. Food was well below average for the price charged. I wouldn't recommend visiting. Only think it has going is a nice location.
John N — Google review
Brilliant location, just a shame about the food! Ordered a beef and pork Sunday dinner with a cauliflower cheese and truffle fries for my wife. Lunch arrived and I asked for Horseradish sauce… “we don’t have any” was the reply so asked for English mustard. The cauliflower cheese was cold so I asked the waiter to warm it up (and could have some gravy for the dry £20 Sunday dinner) this was also just Luke warm. The cauliflower cheese turned up again (and was still only warm, food should be piping hot) and I used the gravy to give my lunch some kind of warm feel. Do the chefs not probe any food to check temperatures? (There should be a record book in the kitchen with food probe checks recorded??) No check back was done so was unable to inform the staff of my unhappiness with the whole situation. Overall an average tasting lunch but cold and for me (as a restaurant owner) over priced for what we received. Had far better for far less money!

Not the best! We were really worried about coming here, after reading all the negative reviews.. If you think of this place as an expensive Wetherspoons, you wont be too disappointed. We booked a Deluxe room with a balcony, and it was boiling as soon as you went upstairs. We were fortunate as we brought our big fan (after reading the reviews) the tiny fan in the cupboard wouldn't have done anything to aid with how hot it was up there. In the shower room there was an almost empty toilet roll to last us for 3 nights, no hand wash just an empty dusty bottle alongside dirty hand cream and shower gel, mould in the shower and the "clean" towels had black make-up on them from the previous occupiers. The "cleaner" lady always looked very grumpy, so we didn't ask her for the thing's that we needed. luckily there was a store cupboard at the hall, so we found some clean towels and a couple of loo rolls. the draws and cupboards looked like they could do with a proper clean, under the bed was thick with dust! With the place being dog friendly, you'd hope that they'd keep on top of the hoovering. This is all thing's that numerous other customers have mentioned in the past comments and reviews... So nothing new... yet nothing has been done to rectify all of the cleaning issue's. Even the coffee cups were dirty with coffee stains and grime, so were the glasses. Just left for us to clean on arrival. Also squished bug's on the wall. On the first night we hadn't booked anywhere to eat, and the hotel kindly booked us in with them. We weren't looking forward to the food, due to the reviews.... We were seated and then we waited awhile with the menus to order... Only to be told that 6 item's on the already limited menu they were out of. So we ate elsewhere. what we saw coming out, didn't look good...We were definitely glad that we didn't order the evening food... Highly recommend The Sea Shanty that's a short walk down the road, also The Stores next-door is good also. I recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Also there is an Adsa 8 minuets away by car. The room's did let in a fair bit of noise, so bring your ear plugs. We were very tired when we got back, after being out all day. On the plus side the location is great! only a few minutes away from a beautiful beach. The breakfasts were amazing! We couldn't fault them. The Scottish male server and the Welsh male server on a morning were very polite and professional... they couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. I would give them both 5 stars. There is good parking also. The little beach is beautiful and it's only a couple minutes walk away. It's such ashame as with only a few improvements our score would have been very different. listen to your customer's... we visited in July 2025 As this place stands at the moment I wouldn't recommend or return to stay.

The Victoria Hotel, located in the heart of Menai Bridge, offers stunning views of the Menai Straits and the Snowdonia mountain range. The hotel provides free parking and Wi-Fi for guests. It features a restaurant, bars, event space with live music, and gardens. Guests can enjoy comfortable rooms with sea views from the balcony and tasteful interior design. The airy restaurant offers delicious food with attentive service. While parking may be tight, the location is convenient for exploring Menai Bridge.
We were staying in Menai and booked in for Sunday lunch as they are dog friendly. Lovely hotel, tastefully decorated, we were sat in the bar area to eat (because of our dog) but it was lovely, we didn't feel "put in the dog owners area". Staff were friendly, the food arrived promptly and it was very nice. I am particularly thankful they offered a vegetarian option of a Sunday dinner, mushroom wellington, very nice! Would recommend and would go again.

Visited for an evening meal whilst on holiday. It's a gem of a place. Really nice decor and stunning views. Staff were all lovely and smiley and helpful. Food overall was delicious but my chips weren't overly hot. Would definitely visit again though. Only downside is not many parking spaces, but there's a play and display car park (cash only) round the corner. We managed to get a space down a side road.

My stay at the Victoria far exceeded my expectations. I stayed for a short business trip (2 nights) and was really impressed with both the rooms and food. The room had lovely decor, a comfy bed, a balcony and a strong shower. You’re also able to get fresh milk on request in a little milk jug for the twinings tea, Welsh coffee and nice biscuits provided. It’s honestly the little things like this which really gives it the edge. The food is also fantastic and all the waiting staff are super friendly and accommodating. I had the Sunday roast as I travelled up before the start of the week. This roast is now in my top 3 list! The breakfast is also fantastic, you receive a small continental selection + a la carte with dishes such as pancakes, avocado toast and full breakfasts! Amazing! I genuinely can’t recommend this place enough.

I stayed here for work but I will definitely come back with my family. I cannot tell you how lovely the staff were, felt like we were all friends for years. So personable and helpful. Room was excellent and so cosy. Best night's sleep I've had in a while - it was so quite too. Breakfast was delicious, really good value. I would give it 5/5 but the dinner the night before wasn't great at all (I could just have had an off plate though as everyone else's looked good). Would reccomend. I've stayed an another hotel a stones throw away but The Victoria is way better.

We stayed at the Victoria for 3 nights. It was exceptional. The staff were all fantastic. So polite and so welcoming. The initial welcome from Stevie the manager set the scene for a fabulous break. Food was presented really well and exceeded our expectations. The outside area is beautiful with really nice maintained gardens. The rooms are tastefully decorated. Comfy bed. The atmosphere is one of friendliness. Even though there was a food festival going on and the outside area was heaving in the evening there were ample staff on to cover it and an outside bar set up. The weather was so gorgeous we actually felt we were abroad having a drink outside overlooking the sea. The hotel is very dog friendly and there are decent areas in the bar and where you can eat without feeling you are being excluded. My only advice would be to get rid of "Isla" on the phone. AI doesn't work for this wonderful hotel. She's extremely frustrating. Luckily I managed to speak to the lovely Jade in the end who sorted it all.

What a great find. This impressive looking hotel is also impressive inside. My husband and I had a lovely spacious room, great meals at the restaurant by friendly staff who were more than happy to help. Check in/ out was easy. There was plenty of parking spaces. The hotel had a friendly relaxed vibe and was clean and fresh with tasteful decor. The General Manger was exceptional on service. The hotel was in a perfect location to visit the menaii bridge ( walking) or touring Angelsey by vehicle. Would definitely visit again.

Went for food at the Victoria, Service and staff excellent, parking difficult due to being a hotel, very busy. Views at the back (Menai straight) nice and well set out. Food - Apart from the steak and ale pies (nowhere near enough steak inside), close to being just an ale pie. 3 off the party had this option and all 3 where the same, disappointing because everything else was close to perfect.

Additionally, there is a restaurant on-site where visitors can enjoy meals. Amlwch itself is known as the Ancient Copper Town due to its historical significance in copper mining at Parys Mountain, which is located near the hotel.
I think we were quite lucky when we went here as we ended up getting the best seat in the house, in the conservatory overlooking the bay, and what an amazing view it is! We thought that the food and the service were both excellent. I had the lamb Henry which was really good. You didn't get a massive amount of lamb, but I suppose that's the way it's going. They had a really nice beer that I think was their in-house IPA. There is also a Large car park.

Nestled in the serene outskirts of Bangor, North Wales, The Slate / Y Llechan is a charming establishment that beautifully marries history with modern comfort. Originally a farmhouse and coaching inn from the 1700s, it offers guests a cozy retreat complete with fireside dining and casual accommodations. Just a short distance from Bangor Cathedral and the railway station, it's an ideal base for those looking to explore both the city and its picturesque surroundings.
Had a wonderful meal here. Staying in the cottage a few steps away, so booked a table for the evening. The manager was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to pre-order what we wanted in order to evade the limited menu on the night. We had two chicken burgers and two steaks, which were all fantastic. Portion sizes are ENORMOUS, with the prices still fantastically reasonable. Steak pictured is cooked medium-rare, with the only fault being a little fat still on the side. Given this is the only issue, it highlights how wonderful this establishment is. To top it off, all staff are friendly, and the set-up is wonderful. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Food here is fantastic, we had Sunday roast and then breakfast the following morning. Everyone here was super friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, the only issue we had was the train going by. The intervals between when they go by widen quite a bit in the evening but as someone who has a younger child it was difficult for him to stay asleep until almost midnight as it was so loud going by. We tried closing the windows to dampen the sound but it only helped so much and with the warmer temps it made the room quite hot.

Nestled within 30 acres of picturesque landscape, The Royal Victoria Hotel offers a relaxed atmosphere with comfortable accommodations that boast stunning views. Guests can enjoy delightful dining experiences in the conservatory and unwind at the bar. While there’s no set menu at the Snowdonia Restaurant, visitors have plenty of nearby dining options to explore. On this visit we had a short 3 night break, checking in on 14/07/2025. My 93 year old father was with us and it was important to make it a happy, memorable occasion. A very warm welcome was received at Reception, which is always a great first impression! Food was delicious with an excellent choice for breakfast. The lady who served our cooked breakfast was very helpful and friendly, as were all the rest of the staff. We had very comfortable rooms with good views. A great hotel that couldn't be better placed for the Llanberis route up the mountain, it really is just across the road. Rooms are warm and quiet, bar is relaxed and welcoming, the restaurant did a solid fish and chips for me and the rest of my group were equally satisfied with their food. Will absolutely be back if we do the route again.

Stayed here for two nights, the room was beautiful and the location was perfect in scenic Llanberis. Great hotel. Amazing location a short walk to the Llanberis Route up Snowdon. The service was fine. Room was lovely and had amazing views. Only issue was the stain on the sofa which was a little off-putting.
Kim M — Google review
I stayed in the coach house and it had to be said the room was pretty average but it was clean and warm which was fine after a day on Snowdon. It just needs a littlenmore TLC there. But what I must say is that the restaurant food and the bar food was terrific. I mean really very good. But what stood out most was the service. What a great bunch of people. Every single person was friendly, every interaction was professional from bar staff to waiting staff and receptionist. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I would definitely return to the Royal Victoria.

Having stayed here twice before. I was abit disappointed. The room was forever cold even with the heating turned up. Noticed if you were near the windows there was a draft from them. The walls were so thin you could hear everything next door and in the corridor. This meant being woken up all the time. Breakfast is usually very good. But this time the scrambled eggs were cold on first morning but OK on second. Overall. Nice and clean. Good location for walks. But not for romantic break

Guests can enjoy delicious home-cooked meals paired with a great selection of beers, making it an ideal stop after a refreshing dog walk along nearby Llanddona Beach.
Stayed for one night, and will definitely book again for future trips to N Wales. Everything was pleasant from the lovely lady who checked me in, to leaving in the morning. It was clean, comfortable and welcoming. It got a bit noisy outside at closing time, but that's to be expected given the room is above a pub. THE COMPLIMENTARY TEA WAS LOVELY. I need more of that in my life.

Disgusting food had to send two dishes back. Shocking service and got over charged for drinks we never ordered! The Manager was not one bit helpful when we told him we were dissatisfied with the food and refused to give us a refund so I suggested if we could have drinks instead as we did not want to eat any of that food, he would not allow that either. We spent 100 pounds on a few processed disgusting sandwiches. Staff were absolutely clueless and the food was really bad quality would not recommend and absolutely will not be returning.

Does the job if you just need a bed in a convenient location. Short walk from the Menai Bridge. Wasn’t loud on a Sunday night. Do note the rooms are only accessible by stairs so might not be suitable for someone with disabilities or large suitcases. There is tea/coffee facilities in the room though the sink was too shallow so I had to fill the kettle with the shower head 😂 shower gel is provided in the room too

Stayed for one night whilst attending an event in Bangor. It was a little further away than I thought it would be but fortunately got a lift out and a taxi back. Didn't use the pub, only a room review. Checked in behind the bar, check in and then you're free to do what you want to do. Key fob to get in on the fire escape. Rooms are basic but what you need. Will use again in the future.

Single bed headboard not fixed.1 pillow so stiff neck.Heating not working so cold. Noisiest pub ever if you want to sleep or hear yourself think don’t bother, I’ve had headaches and painkillers both days.Stairs out the back when pub closed are fire escape not for older or children. Sleep in your car

Hotel Cymyran offers a delightful blend of modern comfort and stunning natural beauty, making it an ideal getaway. Nestled just a short stroll from the picturesque Cymyran beach, this hotel features contemporary rooms, some boasting private balconies that provide breathtaking views of the Snowdonia mountains. The on-site brasserie-style restaurant is renowned for its exceptional fish dishes and has garnered praise for its delicious offerings, including perfectly cooked rib-eye steak and homemade chips.
Stayed here for two nights in October. Rooms were generally clean. The only let downs were the tatty towels that were a bit threadbare and the shower tiles that could have used a bit of a scrub. Otherwise, the accommodation was good - good comfy bed, good shower which was hot and had good pressure. Food at supper was of a high standard. The buffet for breakfast was a bit lacking in my opinion. Though the cooked breakfast looked very good. Would recommend.

Where to start with this one. Wow. All bedroom doors unlocked with keys in when I arrived, meaning anyone was free to roam around into any other Room. In the middle of a pandemic. Room had two singles that my feet were over the end of, when my booking clearly stated a king double. Dated looking room hadn't been decorated in 30 years. Tiny television adrift on an ocean of wall with wires dangling everywhere, with no remote. Bathroom that was so gloomy you could barely see, even with the lights on, so you couldn't see how clean it was. No breakfast, no dinner, no working free WiFi as advertised. Oh and no staff on after 6pm or before 8am. Very useful. I cannot remember the last time I was unfortunate enough to stay at a place such as this. Avoid

Booked the room on very short notice. The room was downstairs and a bit claustrophobic but the price was good and other rooms had beautiful views over Valley wetlands and the sea on the other side. The staff were courteous and very helpful. The food was good and plentiful. As a keen birdwatcher it proved to be an excellent base to visit the wildlife of the island with RSPB Valley wetlands just about any mile away. I plan to make more visits to the hotel.

Absolutely disgusting, wish I'd read the other reviews before we trusted this place. Were due to stay overnight, first holiday I've had in two years. Turned up and nobody was there. The place looked very shabby, unlike on the website photos. We phoned both the number on the door and the website number repeatedly with no answer. People hanging around outside another building nearby said 'just wait, she'll turn up eventually, it's just what she's like'. We waited 20 minutes then left a voicemail not to take any money from our account as we couldn't get into the building and were forced to drive home. I was gutted, absolutely ruined my holiday, but now after reading the other recent reviews I'm almost relieved. Money was taken out of our account anyway, phonecalls and email were not returned. No apology was given. We were eventually refunded. I can't stress enough for you not to give this terrible place any business.

I have eaten here a few times when staying at a nearby caravan site. The food is always excellent with large portions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Dog friendly too! Only downside is that they no longer have cask beers so rated 4* rather than 5*.

I stayed here with my family for a nice family holiday it was a terrible experience, the lady that runs it was very rude to my children and demanding money everytime we went into the lobby , the staff where wearing pyjamas we ordered drinks and they were out of date and my children had bad tummy I asked her to refund money back she laughed and said do you want another one. All our bed sheets had dirty good marks and blood on them we will never stay at this hotel again it ruined our holiday.

Great superb hotel. A little out of the town. However. Suited me well as I was only here for one night on business. Don't get me wrong. This place is very welcoming and very friendly staff from booking in to dining in the evening. And if you like Jets. It's a must.. may I add. I only had one meal here as I was only here for one night but the food was delicious had a rib eye steak cooked to perfection and the best home made chips iv ever had. This is one of those places you would come just for food. So friendly. Not that busy tonight but the service is really warming. Thanks guys. A thumbs up from me if your a contractor or fell walkers or anyone wanting really nice friendly place and lovely food. MR NEWLOVE

I do not recommend this place! If I could give 0 I would! I booked a room on Saturday morning for me, my husband and my 4 weeks old daughter. I asked them till what time we can do the check in because I knew we will arrive late and they said by 23 PM. We arrived around 22 and surprise they give our room to someone else. The lady from reception laughed in my face saying she don't know with who I spoke to the phone and suggest me to go to Liverpool to find a room because everything around was fully booked. Very disappointed, the receptionist have no shame and no even apologies!

The hotel's location near the town and harbor provides a comfortable stay with well-appointed rooms, although paid parking is located a short walk away from the premises.
It was a brilliant hotel! We stayed in a family room, which was really spacious – about twice the size of a standard hotel room. The room was very clean, and having a bathtub really helped me relax after a long day. It was my first time staying at a Premier Inn, and I’d love to use it again when I travel to other places.

Brilliant Premier Inn. The kids were raising money for charity plus was my daughters birthday. Firstly they allowed early check in. Secondly they kindly put a birthday banner up on the room and in the room. They also left a box of chocolates and a birthday card! All thanks to Hannah! One of the politest people we have ever met! Hotel was good, clean. Perfect location. Bathroom was clean (which is the main thing) Plenty of parking opposite the hotel. Breakfast is at a restaurant called Table Table which is what you expect from Premier Inn breakfasts. Top quality! The staff are very friendly and helpful!

THE P.I. Caernafon have exceptional Satff at Reception and Breakfast, Table Table. When we checked in Hanna and Sasha were professional, kind and helpful. My husband had to.look for parking a fair distance from the PI. HANNA HELPED ME TO CARRY OUR HEAVY luggage to Rm 222. The internet was very slow and going to be repaired the next day, my birthday, 2 October. I was silently disappointed as my children and family would be unable to contact me and wish me on my Birthday. Hanna arranged for Sasha to organise a card and gift for me. I noticed the surprise the next day! It made me very happy 😊 At breakfast, we met Sara who was very kind and bright. She had an infectious laugh which will brighten anyone's day. How wonderful to meet staff like these three ladies, especially Hanna and Sara who are willing to go the extra mile in service to others. We thank and appreciate you. We have stayed in various Premier Inns, this one with really nice view outside and good location. Very close to the marina and Caernarfon Castle. Supermarket Morrisons is nearby for any emergency need. We had a family room, the room was clean and good size. Had a nice hot breakfast the next morning in the restaurant next to it.

We picked this place as it’s dog friendly and it’s close to the port at Holyhead. There is a car park outside for patrons only. On arriving we had to go to the bar to collect our keys, one is for your room and the other for the front door. So you can come and go as you like. You go back to the foyer and go up a steep set of approximately 15 steps to reach the rooms. On entering the room the first thing I noticed was the musty smell, we opened a window straight away. The room was small and had too much furniture in it. The space either side of the bed was wide enough for a bedside cabinet so felt very cramped. There was a chest of draws and a dressing table and stool. There was no real room for our bags or the dogs bed/ bowl. There was a kettle and cups but I did wash them before I used them as they looked dirty. Every time we moved in the bed you could hear and feel the springs. We were going to spend the evening in the bar but the crowd in there were very noisy/ rowdy so we decided to walk a short distance up the road to The Valley for a couple and spent the evening there. We’d driven over 350 miles to get here and I was tired and was looking forward to a good nights sleep as I had another 2.5 hour drive once I get off at Dublin the next day. I didn’t have a good nights sleep and I’m not looking forward to my drive home. Next trip we are going to stay at The Valley.

Th room was extremely hot with only two small windows that didn’t allow much air to pass through making the room really hot and stuffy. Although the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was nice.

With a variety of accommodation options, including both standard and premium fully serviced pitches, guests can enjoy their stay amidst beautifully maintained greenery surrounded by hedges and woodland.
Pitched up with our tent for 5 days. We had incredible views out to sea from our plot. Lovely food on the takeaway menu (used twice and amazing both times). Shower blocks are spotlessly clean and regularly checked by the staff. My son used the gym and was very impressed. A 10 minute walk gets you to the beach, which is dog friendly. A special thanks to Simon who looked after us in our hour of need when the wind picked up and the tent looked like it would take off 🌬🌬 He allowed us to use some monster tent pegs.....nothing was moving with them!! All in all, a fantastic campsite and will definitely return.

What a fantastic campsite. Location stunning, short walk from many beaches and great coastal walk to nearby Moelfre, where you’ll find a pub, ice cream shop and great little cafe (Ann’s Pantry). The facilities at the site are immaculate, the staff are all very welcoming and helpful. The cafe and little shop has all you need and you can even order fresh bread. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the road although I didn’t use it. Would highly recommend.

Best campsite ever stayed on in 30 years. All positive. Staff amazing. Hayley and Simon are so helpful and friendly. Space between caravans and pitches excellent. The showers and toilets spotless. Showers amazing. Beach near by. Booked two nights ended up staying 5 nights. After driving around Anglesey definitely think this place to stay. Thank you. Our dog loved it too!

Perfect for us. Lovely friendly welcome in our motorhome with dog on board. Beautiful site with amazing views. Direct beach access from site through woods approx 15 walk for those with good mobility. On site shop / pub/ outdoor seating. Well stocked freezer and fridge for essentials however site offers take away options and fresh bread which both were very good.

We enjoyed ourselves but it was expensive for a very big walk to the toilets and bins very steep slopes the beach was nice but the gym was five pounds fifty we thought it was part of the facilities the cafe was a few chairs and tables and the shop was tiny we thought The facilities would be a lot better. The staff were lovely and toilets clean but we wouldn’t stay again

A great location, we enjoyed the bar next door, had a good pizza & the conversations with the locals. The room was nice and the lounge area on the first floor that was available for use had plenty of perks and was a great place to hang. My only complaint was that I was cold in the evening. We didn’t have any control over the heat. It would have been nice to have a small space heater. It warmed up overnight & was warm enough in the morning. We were only there one night, I didn’t ask for them to turn on the heat. They might have done that. They were responsive to all my questions & needs. They even let us in early. We were in the Captain’s room.

What a most accommodating little hotel. Self check in was easy and straightforward. Room was quirky and tastefully decorated. We read reviews beforehand that the rooms were small. Yes not that spacious but not tiny. For 1 night it was fine. Floorboards were noisy but otherall it was quiet. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Downstairs had the lounge/eating area. It had complementary water, tea, coffee and biscuits. Which we found lovely. Free parking outside, but spaces limited. A lovely hotel. Highly recommended

We enjoyed the relaxed self check in. The room was very clean. We had the use of a lounge with free mikk, tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes. Crockery and cutlery were available if you want a takeaway or to eat your own breakfast. We parked outside of the property. It was good value, it was handy for Southstack. Ideal for us.

All was great. The location is a short walk from the train station and ferry. Also close to the center with the good food and coffee shops. Room was cosy and clean. Bathroom is large with bathtub and great hot water. All was impeccably clean. The common area was like home as was the warm welcome and prioritizing my early check in. Super pet friendly. They offer the option for a day tour of three amazing castles (!!), safe driving and comfortable car - worthwhile for foot travelers. Holyhead is also close (10 min drive) to the lighthouse, spectacular coastal and inland trails and a few Neolitic standing stones, burial chambers and dwellings. I missed the Puffins by one week, but was amazed by the hills covered with flowering Heather. Definitely worth stopping in Holyhead and The Hut Seafront Inn to explore the beauty of Holyhead island. Thanks also for all the support and advice on where to eat and how to get to places!

I'm really unsure on how this hotel can have a 4 star rating. It's grubby in places and in need a revamp. The bed springs were sticking out and bed sheets with holes. Great location for snowdonia, but wasn't a comfortable stay after unfortunately.

Accommodation in university hall. Had a large ensuite room with a king size bed, nice and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner served in the refectory, breakfast hotel style with hot food counter and continental section. Dinner was cooked to order from a reasonable selection, to a high standard. Apart from the layout of dining hall and rooms you hardly know it's not top name hotel. Possibly some issues for access for some as there are a lot of stairs, with lifts to some floors.

Absolutely fantastic welcoming hotel. All the staff were lovely and it really did feel like a home from home. We had 4 children under 7 with us and they couldn't do enough for us. Every morning they had set up breakfast ready with plastic cups at our request for the kids. Chopped up their breakfast and even offered to buy in alternative cereal if the kids didn't like the huge selection they had. The cooked breakfasts were amazing and the evening meal was superb. We stayed in the chalet and found it absolutely perfect for our large family. So glad we found this place and have already made enquiries to return next year. Thankyou very much for a lovely stay.

Stayed at the chalet, a stand alone bldg at the back of the main house. Had everything you need and the place was clean, warm, big enough for 2 adults and a child and had the convenience of the fully equiped kitchen. Easy to reach and 5 mins away from local shop, chippie, a decent pub and the small harbour and the stunning views of the bay and beaches.

The menu here has improved dramatically. The decor had improved, and the ambiance is lovely. This is now another great place to eat in Cemaes

Extended stay hotel
Nestled in the charming town of Menai Bridge, the Victoria Hotel stands as a delightful destination for travelers seeking both comfort and local flavor. This inviting establishment is not just a place to rest your head; it also offers an array of culinary experiences that highlight the best of Anglesey's vibrant food scene. Guests can indulge in hearty meals at nearby eateries like Seawave Traditional Fish & Chips, known for its classic take on British favorites.
We very much enjoyed our stay here. Our room was comfortable and cozy, with a nice view looking out over the beer garden. It's a corporate run hotel and the beer selection was lacking in local choices, but we had good beer nonetheless. My breakfast of salmon on toast with a poached egg was delicious. My husband devoured his eggs Benedict. The staff were friendly and attentive.

The Victoria has always been a beautiful spot for us to come and visit and with its location we decided to stay here for the weekend after our wedding. Stevie and the team were great at accommodating our needs and the room was beautiful, especially the view of the Menai Strait. The bar and restaurant is beautiful and full of so much character. The breakfast menu had a variety of choice and was lovely and hearty. I don't know the name of the young gentlemen who served us breakfast on Monday 23rd June, but he was incredibly polite and friendly first thing on a Monday morning. Can not recommend this place enough, thank you for making our first stay as a married couple a wonderful experience.

Had to stop here as we were stranded here due to our car breaking down. It was such a golden find, the staff were incredibly helpful and hospitable, the food was delicious and the room we bought was actually rather cheap for the size of it! Would definitely recommend for those looking for a quiet getaway to North Wales.

Havent actually stayed, but have been several times for food & drinks, Lovely place, staff are very helpful & friendly, the interior is beautifully done adding to a relaxing atmosphere, the outside is stunning, especially on a warm day, with lots of tables and chairs to sit at whilst having a drink or something to eat, Also a lovely terraced area with fantastic views over the Menai Straits, also large covered Gazebo seating area. Food is fabulous much nicer and better value than Brunning and Price pub/restaurants 😃

Stunning setting for wedding celebrations last week! The staff were so accommodating and the hotel was tidy and clean. Complete with a lovely bar downstairs and excellent breakfast options! Thank you for a lovely stay ❤️

Average hotel. Room was unloved, old, scratched bedside table with no lamp for reading, no mirror on the dressing table, very inconvenient for doing hair and makeup. Scratched old headboard. Staff wonderful.

Really nice food with great views from the gardens at the back. Staff really friendly. Have been a couple of time on this trip to Wales and will definitely call again when I return.

The ideal location for a peaceful relaxing break. The yurt was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We cooked on the barbecue every night, but the shared kitchen was spotless and very well equipped. The washblock was also spotless and there was plenty of hot water. The area is beautiful with stunning beaches and breathtaking scenery. Even my dog had the best holiday!

We stayed in the Sgubor barn conversion and had a fantastic 7 night break, whole place was clean and comfortable and warm. Had views across fields and Snowdonia from the living room doors. The private jacuzzi was lovely. Even got greeted by the Collie each morning.

Facilities were great. Hot tub was definitely worth paying extra for. Host was very accommodating and resolved any minor issues. The booklet with instructions could do with having more contact details for the local takeaways

We stayed in Stabal cottage, which is part of Anglesey Yurt holidays. It was a beautiful cottage, quite spacious and located in the countryside, so nice and quiet with dark skies for star gazing.

Wow, What a great place to stay. My family and many friends enjoyed a wonderful weekend there. Definitely worth a try. Lovely views and great yurts. The hot tub was fantastic after our Snowdon climb.

Clean, warm, well-equipped and helpful, with a hot, fresh (and not huge,) breakfast. (edit in response: This was in 2019.)

Lady was alright but as soon as we were about to leave she started being rude for no reason. We had kids around and she was smoking and getting drunk as well.

This boutique hotel exudes a youthful spirit and modern design, appealing to a trendy crowd looking for something fresh. While it shares some amenities with its older counterpart, The Townhouse offers a unique atmosphere that feels lively and inviting.
Room was lovely, clean and spacious. Food was delicious; staff friendly and made you feel welcome. Great ambience and would thoroughly recommend.
Zara M — Google review
The hotel is fine and all but it's somewhat more expensive and judging by our room ("Creme") it's rather weird than exclusive. You can see how 10yrs ago it must've been pretty neat but nowadays it's kinda lived off, the TV is spec. tiny, and the huge interrogation-like window between the bedroom and the bathroom is more inconvenient than fancy (e.g. bathroom lights light up the whole bedroom - using the toilet in the middle of the night wakes up whoever is in that room with you). It's definitely different to many hotels I usually see, the big rooms have have a certain charm, everything is pretty clean, but I would argue if the price is really worth it.
