This coffee shop is a bit out of the way if you drive through Outdshoorn, But stop there if you are a coffee lover. The shop was already up and running at 7 and the guy running it knows coffee. I will be going back when driving through.

Very limited food, not very good. Coffee OK, but served in paper cups when you were having it there.

A local recommended this restaurant for ostrich meals and we were so happy with the experience. It is a garden restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, great service and the best meal I had in South Africa. We both chose ostrich shanks with mash and vegetables which was so tender, meat falling apart from the bone the moment you prodded with a fork. What a winner!

Although the place is small, it is absolutely charming with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered pomegranate juice, beef with mashed potatoes, and grilled chicken with fries. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. One lovely surprise was the complimentary dishes they served from the kitchen, and at the end, we were given some delightful biscuits when we paid the bill, such a thoughtful gesture! First time I’ve been back in 10 years and still up to a high standard. Shared the two different lamb and ostrich roosterkoeke and both were excellent in their own right. Also some great beers offered.

An absolute gem! We were thrilled to find a place that caters to veggie lovers too. The veg curry was so fresh and tasty, and the baked sweet potato was divine! So pleasantly surprised with this lovely restaurant in Oudtshoorn - a must visit for vegetarians and vegans too!

After a long day of driving, we arrived at our destination and stumbled upon this restaurant. We had such a blast! The food was fantastic, and the service was incredibly friendly and funny too! We had a wonderful meal here and would love to come back again!

The furniture is recycled from a decommissioned Spur Restaurant. The atmosphere is suitable for a camping ground. The food quality is debatable and took 90 minutes to arrive despite the empty restaurant. The food is rather expensive and make sure that the price in the menu matches the charge on the bill!

I have been looking forward to come here for so long only to be disappointed. It's an hour drive from home. We arrived half an hour earlier than our booking and was seated quickly. The waiter took 15 minutes before coming to take our drinks order and no wine list was provided with the menus. My husband fetched a wine list about 5 minutes after we were seated. We were told that kitchen was a bit under pressure. We ordered drinks which took another 15 minutes to arrive. Starter arrived about 45 minutes after we ordered and our main meal 2hrs15minutes after we arrived. The restaurant was not packed I counted 6 tables that had 2-4 patrons and 2 tables with 8 patrons. 3 waiters on the floor. The food is excellent and portions are huge. The waiting time was a huge disappointment. I am not sure if this is always the case in the kitchen but if so it seriously needs looking at.

There is a bar area too for those preferring a bar atmosphere Food was tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. We enjoyed a delicious burger with chips. Had lunch here. Portions are massive! Had a normalnburger and chips and could not finish it all. Wife had a steak salad. Lots of steak, the salad almost appeared as a side show. Large restaurant. Would be great to book for functions. Must be lively over the weekends. Especially if there is live music. Nice atmosphere. Very reasonably priced.

This place is dire. We went as a group of 6 people and had hopes of great authentic food, as this place had been recommended by Hlangana Lodge. The restaurant had few occupied tables, but despite this, drinks took a very long time to arrive and staff was nowhere to be seen when we wanted to order more drinks. The food took an eternity to arrive and came in dribs and drabs rather than being served at the same time. Only 1/6 of us ate our meal as the lamb neck was stone cold, the lamb shank had about as much fat as a southern right whale and the oven-baked pizza was still dough…not cooked at all and was only topped with cheese. When we told the waiter that the food was not right, he did offer free dessert as way of apology, but we just wanted to leave at this point to get something elsewhere and we declined this. We were presented with the bill with no deduction for the uneaten meals. Very disappointed and we recommend that you avoid this place.

Overall we were satisfied with our evening dinner. Was able to get some of the local wine 🍷 they have a lot of different meals to choose from maybe a bit too many... They also didn't do cocktails but we're still able to make gin and tonics. The décor tables and chairs felt quiet plastic and cheap so tould do with updating the place a bit. But overall the food was quite nice. The chicken curry 🍛 was a win .

We recently dined at Karoopot in Oudshoorn, and it was a fantastic experience overall! The portions are very generous, perfect for those with a hearty appetite. We tried the lamb chops, ostrich fillet, sushi, and steak, and each dish was cooked to perfection. The meats were incredibly succulent, tender, and flavorful—definitely the highlight of the meal. While I wasn’t a fan of the cabbage side, it didn’t take away from the rest of the fantastic food. Karoopot is also a great family-friendly restaurant, with a play area for kids, making it easy to relax and enjoy your meal while the little ones are entertained. If you're in Oudshoorn, it's definitely worth a visit!

We didn’t enjoy the experience at all. The service was ok, but the waitress seemed to be interested in adding more tables for herself, thus leaving us waiting. The food was mediocre, but the sushi was a hit. My daughter had the sushi and looked like most people opted for it. My steak which took forever, requested medium, came out rare. By that time we were exhausted sitting in the heat and waiting. Not a great restaurant experience. Pub would be a better description.

Visiting for the verry first time,from a verry warm welcome, during our visit and upon leaving, we were treated so well. Our waitress was very on point and friendly.Our food, Hot Chocolate and dessert, did not disappoint. Very nice experience and certainly a recommend.

We landed in Karoopot after the first two restaurants we walked into in Oudtshoorn weren’t what we were looking for. This one, however, was pitch perfect. The atmosphere was comfortable, with both indoor and outdoor seating. We were there in July, and it was too chilly to be out, but we enjoyed the interior. We could get both South African wine and beer on tap at good prices. We’d just finished the tour at Safari Ostrich Farm (recommended!), and since we’d never had ostrich, we got the braised ostrich fillet, remarkably similar to a good beef steak, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The meal came with onion rings, mashed potatoes, pumpkin and creamed spinach, and we topped it off with malva pudding. All in all, this restaurant struck all the right notes when we were getting a tab pecking and cranky. If we lived in Oudtshoorn, Karoopot would be in our regular restaurant meal rotation.

Enjoyed the Ostrich Liver in Piri Piri. The Ostrich Bobotie was very rich, a little too much so for me. The Ostrich Steak was a winner.

I loved this place. My family and I went there on Sunday to enjoy the delicious buffet they had to offer. We sat outside, and the atmosphere was beautiful. There is also a waterfeature in the middle of the restaurant, which fits with the decor. As for the food.. it was delicious. The potatoes were flavourful, the meat was succulent, and the chicken was delicious. There is a lot to choose from. I would recommend

We are a normal breakfast and it was not bad! The waiter Charmaine was friendly and made us feel comfortable it’s more of a bar to party than a restaurant so if you decide to come for food, drink rather!

Lovely eatery on the main road. Our waitress was superb. The food was great (not fantastic), but it isn't fine dining. It was well priced and delicious (although my meal; the steak, egg and chips were cold). BUT, it was a super cold night and I think it is a bit hard to keep all the food super heated, so I'll excuse it this time. The decor is lovely. A band was playing making the non-smoking section a very loud place. We struggled to hear each other, but took it in our stride.

Ate here for a whole week due to a work trip - 3 meals a day. The restaurant was beyond accommodating and went over and beyond to meet dietary requirements for 62 people. The staff were really friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone taking a trip to Oudtshoorn.

After a very long road trip we just wanted something simple to eat. Brian's Grill menu did not disappoint. We had nachos and a chicken basket with a glass or two of dry red wine. Perfect way to end our day's adventure. Staff are friendly and the service was good.

Shocking horrible experience! Writing as a solo female traveller, I went to watch the rugby. At some point near the end of the game I was sitting at the bar with my card trying to buy a drink and having a chat with the guy next to me. The bar was busy so I put my card down momentarily and continued talking. When I tried to buy a drink a bit later my card was gone. My immediate reaction was panic. I had to look everywhere, was put on the spot with the company I was keeping, and when I couldn't find it, I had to CANCEL MY CARD. When I asked the bar if they had maybe seen my card the barlady maliciously smiled and said: "This one"? I confronted her directly to defend myself, since I was feeling I was 1) either being manipulated, 2) intimidated 3) controlled or 4) attacked. And no, it was not just a person trying to help me keep my card safe - I was sitting right there where my card was in front of me on the table, so it is obvious it is my card, and she stole it, and if she was genuinely trying to help me she would have asked if this is my card first. They in turn responded by humiliating me in public, and asking me to "leave the premises" which we did. Acting collectively. This is another example of how it is not safe to go out alone here, especially not to this place. It is harassment and localism and bullying to the highest degree. I feel I am being provoked, as in triggered, for a public response, and I DO NOT AGREE TO VOLUNTEER OUR TIME FOR THIS BECAUSE WE ARE BUSY WITH OUR OWN IMPORTANT THINGS. I WANT YOU TO KNOW I AM NOT HERE TO BE A PUPPET IN YOUR SILLY DRAMA, ALL BECAUSE THE BARLADY INSISTS ON BEING THE CENTRE OF ATTENTION. She is stealing my energy and should apologize

An amazing stay at this delightful place. The food was out of this world. I had the pizza which was cooked in a great pizza fired oven. The owners were really accommodating. Bonus for me was Rose and Fudge the resident puppies. The decor and buildings espe iallh ghe bar were so unique. I would most definitely stay and eat there again. Thank you so much

Karoozin is a total gem! The vibe is effortlessly cool, great service, the owners are so lovely, and the food and drink menu is on point. Plus, the prices are really affordable. I had an amazing pizza that easily tops my list for Oudtshoorn. If you're after a chilled evening with great food and a fantastic atmosphere, Karoozin is the spot!

Great food and vibes at Karoozin village, reasonably priced and super friendly service. I was very excited to see that they had gluten free pizza bases on their menu, which was delicious.

Nice little Wimpy, has a decent big play area for kids outside as well as a small inside PlayStation games area for the bigger kids. There is plenty of parking outside with a security guard. The service was pretty good and the staff were all friendly. We were a big family with lots of kids and everyone was happy

Everything was mediocre unfortunately. They tried but eishh the food I was eating because I was hungry it was not enjoyable at all. The wings seemed to be cooked in water and just poured sauce over. The onion rings were overdone.

I am epilitic and the few times I went and ended up feeling sick, The staff made a point to watch over me in case they needed to call my ice contact while still treating me as a person as not a nuicence. Good location with potential, service is horrible though. Arrived at restaurant, had to walk around and look for someone to serve us. Service was slow, owner and waiters seemed more interested in drinking and smoking, then to clear tables. However the food is fantastic, the burger we had, was delicious and you can’t find beter in the Karoo. Not the best lunch destination, would recommend Rou Karoo as a Weekend sit down when you have all the time in the world.

Great little cafe, fab service, delicious milkshakes. Actually my only complaint is about the owner / manager, who came in to the bar area where the waitress was making our milkshakes and told her rudely to hurry up, before she saw there was a customer (my husband) standing there. We were the first customers of about 5 couples who arrived in quick succession, and the owner / manager expected this one poor waitress to take care of everyone. It's not hard to take care of 5 tables of course, but not when they all arrive within 5 minutes of each other, and you are busy making drinks. Only when she noticed my husband, who was waiting for our takeaway order, did she decide to help and take menus to the other tables herself. I couldn't believe it, felt very sorry for the waitress!

Fantastic oasis in a quiet part of town. Safe parking. Wonderful welcome and service. Exceptional food and very good coffee. We were travelling from the Klein Karoo to Sedgefield and stopped here - I'm glad we looked it up and found it on trip advisor.

Quite possibly the worst breakfast I have ever had to pay for. Family of 4, our bill came to R565. What a waste of time and money. Especially since we have to find somewhere else to eat. I had the spinach and feta omelette, had about 3 bites and it was not edible. An overcooked slimy mess. ‘Toast’ was cold and soggy. Coffee watery and could maybe pass for steamed milk. Not one of us ate very much of our food. Was not asked how our meal was. Waiter oblivious. Shockingly slow service. I will never recommend this place or be back.

First of the place has a nice atmosphere and on the service looks upmarket and posh. But when it comes to the food its below standard, the red cappuccino definitely has way to much cinnamon in and ontop of it so much that you nearly chock on it, second and this was the nail in the coffen, is that i found a black hair ontop of my pepersteak pie, i was really disgusted by that, but i called the waiters discreetly and made them awair of it, they returned with a new pie and left the cutlery so i had to call again for cutlery. On the quality of the food well the pie was extremely dry and had hardly any sause in it the pepper taste is overpowering. All in all definitely this was not worth the money we paid, i have one question to ask where is the hygiene in this place i see kitchen staff and waiters with long hair entering and exiting the kitchen and no one is wearing any hair nets.

A real find in the area. You would not think there is a restaurant there but the food and the atmosphere were a real pleasant surprise. My mom had a super large pizza that was simply delicious and I had the best ostrich dish I ever got to try.

It was our first visit to Tall Goose as we are visiting the area and decided to try it out following their Google reviews. We were not greeted, welcomed or seated by anyone and stood around for quite some time before we went to ask for service at the counter. It felt like the waiters weren’t focused on the patrons and were having private conversations instead of being sharp and attentive. The food was exceptionally tasty and the ostrich steak and salad well prepared. The food arrived quickly.

Our visit to M&B at the Langenhoven Lifestyle Centre in Oudtshoorn this morning was not great. Waited for food, salt and pepper pots were dirty with old sauce, when pressing the chips oil came out. Not recommended.

Ordered a chicken burger for myself and chicken straps for my daughter both were terrible. Burger was so saucy and the chicken patty was basically my daughters chicken straps on my burger, burger fell open due to soggy bun. The strips were over fried barely any chicken just fried crust. And we waited nearly 40min with 2 other tables there, I could see our food sitting there but waiter was not available.

The toilet facility is disgusting , needs gutting. My burger was served with a frozen centre, I sent it back. Then I ordered a slice of cherry bakewell tart which was horrible.

Great cafe with excellent service and fantastic food. The venue is clean and well kept. They have nice designer crockery. The coffee and cakes are reasonably priced. There is lots of free parking and the place is wheelchair friendly.

They cater to food allergies well. The manager is a friggen star that can step into any position when needed and the other waitresses are great

I’m not one to give negative reviews, but in this case, I have no choice. We visited Milky Lane in Oudtshoorn and decided to try the waffles and milkshakes. The waffles were fantastic, loaded with ice cream, but the milkshakes were a huge disappointment—just flavored milk. It was such a let-down. We should have sent them back. Instead we scooped some of the waffles ice-cream into them to try and thicken them up. We will definitely not be back.

There is always a problem with this Milky Lane taking online orders. "It's always unable to take your order". You are losing business....if I wanted to drive there I would not be placing the order online.

Lovely place and it dares to be different with the decor and music. Like a breath of fresh air. Food was very good with service to match and the potion is generous. Loved the older music and also the volume making it enjoyable rather than bearable. The menu is also quite extensive and full bar should it be needed.

What an interesting restaurant. It is tastefully decorated with the likes of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe pics and memorabilia. If you a fan then this is a must-see. This extraordinary theme really gives character to the place and definitely makes for interesting conversation to say the least. We enjoyed our ribs and lambshank and found the meals quite affordable. We highly recommend this restaurant.

50's style American diner vibe venue. Very friendly owner makes an effort. Our waitress was great. We found the food okay but average at best. With a bit of investment into kitchen staff this place could be so much more.

One of the few open on Sunday, but very unhealthy food. We deliberately mentioned we wanted to eat healthy with 3 kids, ordered 4 separate green vegetables plates (butternut was sugared. Yes really), 2 veggy pizza's (never seen so much cheese on a pizza and they used BBQ sauce (!) as basis instead of tomato). Salad was fine (luckily we asked for sauce separate because that would have ruined it. It's not expensive though.

I absolutely love the hospitality 😁 It does not feel that one is in Oudtshoorn, probably of the green landscape outside. The food is mouth watering, I eat with my eyes first and I was satisfied 💃🍽️

Went looking for a lunch on a Sunday afternoon and discovered this place. Our waitress got the drinks order wrong but we decided it's fine - Coffee was good at least. The food was really good. Ate the pork belly with mashed potatoes, a bit sweet but a very generous portion. When we got the bill however, the price did not coincide with the price displayed on the menu (+/- R 50 difference per meal on the bill). We inquired and it was rectified on our bill with pencil, we had to wait a while again for the waitress to bring the the card terminal. It's worth going for the food, but definitely check the bill before paying.
