Joss Bay, located between Margate and Broadstairs in Kent, is a 200-meter sandy cove surrounded by picturesque white chalk cliffs. This family-friendly beach offers various amenities such as a surf school, beach loungers, and a cafe. The bay is named after a notorious local smuggler from the 1700s and is popular with both families and adventurers.
Joss Bay Beach is as lovely and spacious as always! Plenty of room to relax, with toilets and a car park conveniently available. Perfect spot for a family vacation. There’s a bit of seaweed and some stones in the water, so be careful as they can be sharp, especially for kids. On a sunny day, it’s absolutely perfect! Plus, you can enjoy ice cream, bars, and delicious fish and chips nearby.
Ananya's C — Google review
We visited Joss Bay for the first time on a windy day, and while it was a bit breezy, our dogs absolutely loved it! The beach is beautiful, and they had a great time running around. The only downside was the lack of a café or toilets, but we didn’t mind too much as we were focused on letting the furry babies running around. Definitely a lovely spot for a walk with your dogs, just be prepared for the wind and plan ahead for amenities!
Pat S — Google review
I visited Joss bay on midsummers day (33 degrees Celsius) for a beach trip and it is a great sandy beach. Parking was hard to come by but eventually we paid £5 to park in a field nearby. The sand was mainly clean and even though the beach was very crowded it was possible to find space. The sea while accessible and refreshing was not clean either in looks or smell. The lifeguards were very helpful and gave my friend a plaster when he cut his toes on the rocks.
Fatima L — Google review
Worth the visit for sure. Not busy at all and sea is usually calm and suitable for kids. Lifeguard available, toilets and parking as well. Some see weeds but not enough to ruin the experience. Sand bank was huge and mostly clean. This beach specifically has a gelly fish warning. Luckily all good for us, but is worth informing people. The only thing missing is a bar/cafe nearby. They have only a shop renting chairs and umbrellas. Careful with seaguls, they are quite annoying ans invasive
Stef N — Google review
Ignore any bad review. Joss Bay beach is the real deal. The nicest beach in the whole Thanet Stretch. Safe. Clean. Amenities. Rock pooling. Shade (if you need it). Peace. Views. An absolute must for any visitor or beach lover.
John K — Google review
Brilliant day on the summer solstice 😎. Parking £5 all day. Walk down via path, passing toilets (left of cafe above), to the beautiful, sandy, clean beach. Great views and cooler by the beach. Great for a family day out. Food expensive but good (e.g. chips £4.50). Lifeguards on the beach with flags to show safe swimming areas. Equipment hire available.
Amrik S — Google review
Good pubs and vibe is all fine and loved it but water was with more weed near shore and full of rocks on one side. Overall it is a very good beach on a sunny day

Nestled on the southeastern coast of England, between Margate and Ramsgate, lies the charming seaside town of Broadstairs. This classic British destination boasts sandy beaches, colorful beach huts, and an array of antique shops. The town has been a favorite retreat for city dwellers for centuries, including renowned author Charles Dickens. One of its main attractions is Viking Bay, a picturesque stretch of coastline adorned with vibrant beach huts and fishing boats.
Amazing beach with everything you could want within walking distance. There is a lift down onto the beach.
Jason S — Google review
There is a copious amount of golden sand on this beach. Soft silky and smoothe, that slithers in between your toes. Just how we like it!
Bee M — Google review
Great beach with local bars, restaurants and shops. Lifeguards on duty and easy to park although no internet available at the car park so had to pay by cash.
Sarah H — Google review
Not as beautiful as Botany Bay, Kingsgate Bay, Jess Bay and Stone Bay thay are wild ... It's very over-populated with too many businesses. It's a very urban beach but English style I liked the sea hats but sea gulls are pretty wild here, if you eat they fly on you and also get your food away be careful it happened to me when I put down my take away box ...they stole it! Lol Nice fish and chips places and a few gift shops and art galleries are also worth a try!
Daniela M — Google review
A beautiful cozy flat sandy bay that has everything you need for a fantastic day out at the beach, as there is so much to do around this area whether you like relaxing, walking or eating, this place has it all along with its amazing history, so much to see.
Tracey A — Google review
Typically pleasant British beachfront with numerous options for food and drink, including reasonably priced fish and chip shops. The beach is sandy with some rocky parts a little further into the surf. Lots of seaweed grows at these points, and the beach can be rather green - but it's perfectly safe to swim. There are the typical seaside amenities nearby, such as shops and stalls selling beachwear, buckets, swimming gear, etc. It gets very crowded at peak times. My photo shows the end of the day when most people have already left - and it's still busy. Safe for families with children but is quite loud, as it attracts a lot of large groups, teenagers and Bluetooth speakers. For a quieter visit, try Stone Bay just a few mins walk Northward along the coast. Stone Bay has only a single vegan (I think!) beach shack for food, but it's far more peaceful and much less crowded.
Jon N — Google review
Lovely beach with plenty of food, cafes and shops. Beware of the seagulls when you have food with you. They try to steal your food. I once was their prey. 😥
Aom A — Google review
Viking Bay in Broadstairs is a sandy beach less than a couple of hours from London by train. There are amenities such as toilets, food kiosks, showers and lifeguards. The beach itself is full of seaweeds so to me it did not make it the prettiest beach. Broadstairs itself was a very gentile town. There are several walking trails in the area which can be followed and is well sign posted. There is a Dickens museum, as Charles Dickens apparently loved staying in Broadstairs. On the clifftop there were various pop-ups selling a variety of goods. There is also a children's play area in the same vicinity. It is a lovely area and worth a visit for a day out with the kids. The toilets could be kept in better condition though.

Botany Bay is a picturesque public beach located on the Thanet coastline near Margate in Kent. This secluded beach offers stunning views of the iconic white cliffs and chalk stacks that surround it. Visitors can enjoy activities such as fossil hunting, exploring rock pools and relaxing at the nearby cafe. However, caution should be taken with the tides as they come in quickly. The sandy beach has warm water and provides a peaceful atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
🌊 Botany Bay Beach – A Hidden Gem on the Kent Coast! 🌿 Absolutely breathtaking views! 😍 From the iconic white chalk cliffs to the peaceful blue waters, Botany Bay is one of the most beautiful spots I’ve visited in the UK. Perfect for a relaxing walk, taking in nature, or just escaping the noise of everyday life. 🏖️ The cliffs make the views unforgettable, and the sound of the waves is so calming. Whether you’re here for photography, a family picnic, or just to breathe in the sea air, this place delivers every time. ✨ Free to visit ✨ Clean and peaceful ✨ Great for cliff walks and exploring rock pools Highly recommend adding this beach to your weekend getaway list — it’s a true coastal treasure! 💙

Our favourite family beach. Not far from London. Important if you’ve got a toddler and don’t want to travel long distances. Not overcrowded. Beautiful views, sandy beach and great waves. On top of it there are lifeguards to make sure safety of your kids. Hotel on the top of cliff to eat in. During tide out you can explore caves and search for fossils.
Kamila K — Google review
We walked from Margate Beach to Botany Bay Beach along the promenade (about an hour’s walk) and arrived around 6pm. By that time, it wasn’t too crowded as many people were leaving, which made it a peaceful spot to enjoy. The tide was low, but the views were still stunning, especially sitting close to the dramatic white cliffs. The beach was a little littered, likely from the day’s crowds, but overall still very enjoyable. Facilities are convenient with toilets nearby, a lifeguard station, and a bus stop just a 5-minute walk away. The surrounding area is dotted with beautiful residential houses and has a very quiet, relaxing feel. A lovely place to visit if you’re in Kent - perfect for an evening stroll or to unwind by the sea.

Botany Bay is a beautiful hidden gem with dramatic white cliffs, soft sand, and clear water. It’s quiet, clean, and perfect for relaxing, walking, or exploring the rock pools at low tide. Great views and photo spots! Highly recommend checking tide times before you go. One of the best beaches in Kent!

I really enjoy swimming and also you can rent umbrella and you also rent surfing board live jacket is nice place to visit if you need more info, please let me know thanks. Toilet also available there .

Nice beach with striking white cliffs and clean sand. Quiet and very scenic, and nice for a peaceful walk along the beach or just relaxing in the sand. Facilities are minimal though, and parking can be tricky especially if you're not early. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
Raheem H — Google review
Nice beach..calm and went there on easter weekend..we didn't had much crowd there... Car park to beach is good 20-30 min walk through designated walking trails..... As this a blue flag beach, you won't find any shops near y by except one ice cream shop which closed by 4 pm..
Anupam G — Google review
It's ok. Was busy. Don't understand why people won't clean up after themselves. Doesn't hurt to take your rubbish back with you! Water was crystal clear. Parking was bit of an issue. But overall kids really enjoyed it. Walk around the cliff was nice.

Margate Main Sands is a popular beach destination in Kent, offering a range of activities for visitors. The area is known for its surfing, swimming, and classic seafood snacks. The beach is backed by a promenade and features children's rides, making it an ideal spot for families. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as the Dreamland amusement park and vintage shops.
Precise location: Marine Terrace, Margate, Kent, CT9 1XJ. Lovely, reasonably clean sandy beach with toilets near by and tidal pool. Margate train station short walk away. The sea front and beach has security guards. There is dog ban there in place from 1st May until 30th September, dogs are not permitted on the beach from 10am – 6pm. Although, many people do take dogs with them there. Restaurants, lots of cafes and bars with different variety of food and seafood stalls, lots of shops are just a short walk away in the Old Town. Very popular for families with kids! There are children’s rides and amusement arcades there, which is offering families traditional seaside fun and entertainment. :) Lots of parking everywhere with different prices from £9 for whole day just across the road to the beach or £7 for 24 hours or £4 for 8 hours if you don't mind walking for 10 minutes to the Main Sands, then you have to drive further up the road to the Viking Coastal Trail Car Park. Near Coastal Trail Car Park, there is a beach too, but watch out for tide there not to be washed off to the sea! :) Can be extremely busy on hot days and especially at the weekends, so try to arrive as early as possible! :) Last weekend absolutely packed. People were almost breathing at each other's backs! Nevertheless, in general, it is great place to come to enjoy the sun, the sea and all what Margate can offer! :)
Irina S — Google review
This beach by the seaside is next to the harbour. We didn't go down to the sand, but there didn't seem to be too much rubbish on it. When it's low tide you can see the Antony Gormley Another Time Statue. There are restaurants, shops and amusement arcades around. The weather was overcast and windy when we visited, but it must be nice to enjoy fish and chips in better weather. There's different parking options around. Street parking is generally more expensive than some of the big parking garages. It's a bit of a walk from the train station to this point, but not too far.
J L — Google review
Lovely sandy beach. The tide pool is super useful during low tide ( but be careful is super slippery to get in and out). Also beware of the mob of seagulls ...they will swoop and steal your food 🫣
Aisha M — Google review
If you don't actually want to sit on the silky soft sandy beach but still want a quick swim, or paddle along the shore, then go to The Kings Steps. These are situated along the promenade, where you can sit down have a picnic, munch a freshly cooked pizza or some local fish and chips (I strongly recommend that you don't feed the seagulls as this will start a seagull frenzy). During the Summer months as the night draws in The Kings Steps is one of the most memorable, amazing and tranquil places to be. As a local I'm probably prejudice to the fact that you will experience some of the most beautiful Sunsets looking out towards Margate's Harbour Arm.
Sheraleelynda H — Google review
I love this sandy windy beach. I don't get the chance to be here often, but when l do, on goes the trunks and a plunge into the sea. Walking distance to public toilets, shops and cafes, as well as train station. Near galleries and markets, lots of choices of where to eat.
Spike M — Google review
Lovely beach but town questionable lot of homeless drunks in open park , hopefully one off
Martin A — Google review
Wonderful fantastic day out lots to do for adults and children as well as a diverse range of eateries at down to earth prices. Margate is the new in place to go. Full of history and culture and a very diverse community.

Minnis Bay, nestled in the charming coastal village of Birchington on Kent's northeast coast, is a delightful sandy beach that beckons visitors with its stunning views and tranquil atmosphere. This expansive bay is not only a haven for kitesurfers but also offers families an ideal spot for a day out, complete with a children's play area and ample free parking.
One of our favourite bays on this stretch of coast. Was not crowded despite it being a Bank Holiday weekend. The large sandy beach means plenty of space available. Also good for dog walkers and cyclists. A number of places to buy food and refreshments. Tide goes out far on this stretch of shallow water. As such it's great for children. Easy to park with free parking on the road plus car park.

Excellent bay, I have lived here and after leaving home have been coming here for many many years. How can you not love this place. Beautiful.
Mark F — Google review
A lovely beach with lots of things to do nearby. It’s relatively clean and lifeguarded.
J W — Google review
I've just discovered this lovely bay and been twice in the past week with the grandchildren. If you get the tides right you'll have the most wonderful time. Clean water, soft sand and plenty of space for social distancing! Although it was breezy we were equipped with wind breaks so no problem! Lots of shells and fun stuff to collect. We even saw a crab which the children were mesmerized by! Lots of Parking nearby and we saw a cafe although it was closed (Covid-19)
Sandie R — Google review
Lovely dog friendly beach. Couple noce places for food
Mick F — Google review
We absolutely love visiting Minnis Bay, and are so thankful that this beautiful beach is right on our doorstep. You have the option of both pebble and sandy beaches, which is even better when the tide is in, which was our situation although we knew this ahead of time, therefore we set up camp upon the pebble beach. The Minnis to Reculver Trail also makes for great; walking, running, cycling and even roller blading. You won’t regret spending a warm sunny day here.

Tankerton Beach is a classic shingle beach located on the north Kent coast, offering a picturesque seaside escape. The beach is overlooked by colorful huts and a promenade, with calm waters suitable for swimming. Nearby East Whitstable provides various amenities including food and drink options. Tankerton Slopes, a grassy nature reserve at the Whitstable end of the beach, is perfect for children to play on.
A place for sea food lovers. I have visited this place twice and love the fresh oysters right from the sea. beautiful place and well connected by train (station Whitstable). The beach is unique as every day twice a sandy beach emerges during low side allowing people to walk into the Sea.

I seem to visit here regularly. It is a very calming and enjoyable place to visit. There are cafes and restaurants, good parking... something for all ages. It has a nice promenade, and one end has Whitstable Castle. Just down near the sea is the hotel seen in the photo.

Lovely beach, with plenty of space. Very nice to walk on the long footpath. From the top of the hill there are several benches, where you can appreciate the amazing views.
Sónia M — Google review
Tankerton beach is a nice place with clear blue water. Less folks and a partway where you can walk for more than 30 minutes. The only issue is the excessive speed of some children riding their bikes on the partway.

I love this beach, so lovely and peaceful. Such a trendy little area. Beautiful Pebble beach. Lovely town n really nice locals & visitors around like no drunks etc. it’s great for the families and everyone who is looking for a great time, family fun or picnic. U can get amazing photos of sunrise or sunset at the top of slopes. A few options of places to eat or drink at beach but there’s a lot in high street which is not far. This town is really good for seafood.

Stone Bay is a serene and less crowded Blue Flag beach located in the seaside town of Broadstairs, nestled between the popular Kent beaches of Margate and Ramsgate. Families are drawn to this spot for its soft sand, chalky cliffs, and ample space for activities like rock pooling. Although dogs are not allowed during high season, it's a dog-friendly beach otherwise. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the promenade to Broadstairs for some local treats.
Quietest of the Broadstairs beaches from my visit on Friday and Saturday, it’s very large with lots of sand and a rocky path when the tides out. You’ll want to walk in the direction of Ramsgate to find the nearest public bathrooms and restaurants at Viking Bay
Rosie N — Google review
We decided to stay in Stone Bay which is quieter and less crowded than other nearby areas. The place is relaxing. My kids played with the sand. You cant really swim but it’s a good place to just lounge around and hear the waves and feel the wind. No toilets nearby. Sand is ok and fine.

We had an amazing time at this beach. The view is simply stunning, with clear blue water stretching as far as the eye can see and soft sand making it the perfect place to walk and relax. The atmosphere is so peaceful and refreshing, with the sea breeze working like a natural atomiser, filling the air with freshness and calm. Sitting by the shore and watching the waves was truly relaxing and gave us such a sense of escape from the busy city life. It’s a beautiful spot where nature shows its best side, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, scenic, and refreshing experience. ---
Behrooz S — Google review
Lots of space but windy, went here from London in early April. It was quite windy and cold. It was fun looking for interesting rocks and shells, but there were no unusual rocks, just interesting forms of chalk and flint. I would recommend going here for the beautiful view and rocks, but if it is not summer take some warm clothes. By the way, the sand was soft and easy to walk on but I would be careful in case you get sand in your shoes. A very good place to go is Broadstairs if you go further you can get to some beautiful green gardens!

Greatstone Beach is a hidden gem near Romney Marsh, Dymchurch, and Dungeness. When the tide retreats, it reveals miles of open sands to explore. The beach features soft sand, safe swimming waters, and is gaining popularity for water sports. With its wide views across the bay to Folkestone and Dungeness, it offers unfettered fun.
Lovely stretch of beach. During the day the tide was quite in so a long stretch of sand for the kids to play in. Lots of shells to collect. A fish and chips as well as Kebab & pizza shop nearby for lunch or dinner. The sand is very fine so was flying everywhere - i am sure we ate a bit along with our food 🙂 Today was sunny but quite windy. Overall a lovely day to be out at the beach. Not very crowded, and lots of parking space available in the car park or nearby streets.
Ruddhi N — Google review
Lovely beach right next Cambersands. Good choice when cambersands is busy. When it is low tide, it is very low tide a good 10 minute mucky/muddy walk to the shoreline. Very beautiful tho and very quiet. Best for a sandcastle day than a swimming in the ocean day when it is low tide. Definitely look this up when planning your journey.
D. H — Google review
Looked great on the map, sand dunes and clear water but seriously we have never been on a beach with so many midges/flies. Never come again, shame
Brian J — Google review
Lovely beach ,clean, quite quiet.when the tide is out it is out very far! Not many tourist facilities, but a very large beach with dunes feels like a hidden gem.
Stevie H — Google review
Wide pebble beach without facilities. Mostly quiet. Steep acces to the sea. At low tide no sea access at the shore. A big muddy walk is needed.
Perry K — Google review
Absolutely wonderful beach, much easier to walk to on the sand than lots of others as it is a small incline. Lovely sand, not overcrowded when we went at all. The water was even warm! And you could get quite far out paddling before it got deep. Car park which is easy to pay in several ways, public toilets (there are several blocks along the beach, the ones next to this patch weren’t the best but better than none!), an outside shower for cleaning off. We even got lucky with an ice cream man. Our new favourite beach I think, reminds us of being in Ireland with the sand dunes 🤗 A few things to remember: • I would bare in mind is that the toilets are seasonal so won’t be open all year round. • Our directions took us to little stone beach which is just further along the coast line and FULL OF STONES. Great stone seems to be a small patch of sand between so I’m glad we didn’t give up. • Dogs are allowed on this beach, there was even a cat! Just in case you have children who aren’t confident around animals. We are a family of 6, with children aged between 13 - 8 months. I would

Love coming here, sandy beach, and lots of shells to collect. The only issue is that some people are inconsiderate to the environment. They leave their rubbish around, which makes me feel unsafe to walk barefoot in case there is a broken glass or sharp object. I love coming here but disappointing some people have no respect and care for the environment.

Went early to avoid the crowds. Pay and display car park adjacent to free public toilets. Absolutely fabulous sandy beach. Dogs are permitted at certain times and in certain sections between 1st April and 1st September. A bit further than other beaches but that just made it quieter.

Dymchurch Beach is part of the Romney Marshes collection of beaches and is located along the Kent coast, offering approximately 3 miles of wide sandy shoreline. The beach features sand and shingle areas divided by wooden groynes, making it a dog-friendly destination where dogs can enjoy chasing frisbees on the expansive sandy beach. Families can indulge in activities like sandcastle building and moat digging while enjoying the wide expanse of sand for sunbathing.
We had a lovely time on the beach making memories and building sand castles. There’s fish and chips, ice cream, arcades and the fair rides for the kids to enjoy too

Beach was lovely and when the tide is out there's tons of space so you're not going to be hemmed in, it really is a massive beach. No sure on the quality of the water tho, so best check online when you go, as UK beaches have sadly taken a turn for the worst over the last few years, which is a real shame. Aside that it's a no brainer, would definitely recommend and only an hour twenty from London by car.
Mark G — Google review
Went there in the afternoon. It was low tide so walked much further towards the sea. There was pungent smell. Beach was mostly golden but large section had black marks. Looks like water is dirty. Actual area was quiet with limited number of shops. Parking is available in council run car park. Cost is £2.50 an hour. Hopefully sea water will not be polluted in the future.

Nice beach, but the tide does come.in & out very fast. Still the beach is sandy with plenty of room. Plenty of Fish & chip shops small amusements unfortunately with the machines that pump out what looks like raffle tickets which are worthless. Only to exchange them for tatt It was a lovely warm day & the family had a great day & that is all that matters

Amazing views, perfect for long walks on the beach or the walking path. However, I have never seen dirtier water anywhere else... We could literally see the sewage waste floating, it was very very disappointing. This beach is such a good opportunity for Kent to have an amazing spot for swimming and sunbathing. Would go again but just for a walk, unfortunately.

A lovely clean sandy beach but not much more can be said for it. For August school holiday period it was extremely quiet.

This is an excellent sea beach with easy access by bus from Ashford and is wofely popular among locals. The beach is nkt crowded but is definitely a wonderful gateway to go and spend time away from daily monotony of life. Being in Ashford, we took bus 500 straight to the beach area. The bus timetable is available at Stagecoach website. We went around 1pm in afternoon and stayed until 3:30pm in the seabeach along with having lunch there until thick black clouds came and started to pour in badly. The coast line is long and is definitely a calming place to enjoy away from daily hustle of life.

lovely clean beach, check the tide times because during a full tide there is 0 beach, low tide, the beach stretches far giving you plenty of space. sand is nice, bit clay like and sticky the further out you go. lots of Ringo parking all along the strip. Not many toilets but if you walk to main area you'll find toilets and shops. everything is reasonably priced. Great day out.

Hythe Beach is a charming and unspoiled pebble beach located on the south-eastern coast, nestled between Folkestone and Dymchurch. The beach offers a steep slope into the sea, with deep waters that are perfect for swimming. It's a peaceful alternative to the bustling towns nearby, offering lovely walks, rich military history, and quaint dining options along the old-school high street.
Hythe beach is a long stretch of shingle coastline that also takes in Sandgate and Seabrook. Hythe is steeped in history, and running parallel to the beach is the military canal that runs through the historic Kent town. Hythe is formally one of the cinque ports and still retains many historic remnants of its past.

Shingle Beach. Free parking along the front and side roads but this was very busy when we went down was lucky to get a spot or you could have a bit of a walk, not bad but if like me you have all the beach gear for the kids could be an issue. Toilets are at one end, not the cleanest. We were at the lazy shack end and was able to get some chips later on. Good beach if you want to just sit and read a book. Not the best for the kids I would say.

Hythe, located on the Kent coast, is a charming seaside town that offers a delightful mix of traditional English charm and beautiful coastal scenery. One of the highlights of the town is its picturesque beach, which provides a peaceful retreat for visitors. The pebbled shoreline stretches along the seafront, offering stunning views of the English Channel, and it's perfect for a relaxing walk or a quiet afternoon by the water. The beach is clean, uncrowded, and ideal for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of busier seaside towns. The town also boasts a wide selection of places to eat, catering to a variety of tastes. Whether you’re in the mood for traditional British fare, fresh seafood, or something a bit more contemporary, Hythe has plenty of options. Local pubs and cafes offer cozy, welcoming atmospheres, while the restaurants along the seafront provide the perfect backdrop for a meal with a view. There’s something for everyone, from casual bites to more refined dining experiences. Hythe’s high street is another feature that gives the town its traditional feel. The street is lined with a variety of independent shops, boutiques, and local businesses, making it a great place for a leisurely stroll. You’ll find everything from artisan gifts and homeware to clothing and fresh produce. However, it is worth noting that there are perhaps too many charity shops along the high street. While these stores can be great for a bargain hunt, they do tend to dominate the shopping scene, which some visitors might find a bit repetitive. One of the most convenient aspects of Hythe is its parking situation. There’s plenty of easy street parking available along the seafront, and the best part is that it’s free, which is a rare find in many coastal towns. This makes it easy to access the beach and town centre without the hassle of finding paid parking or walking long distances. Overall, Hythe is a delightful coastal town with plenty to offer visitors. Its beautiful beach, variety of eateries, and traditional high street make it a pleasant place to spend the day. While the abundance of charity shops may not appeal to everyone, the town’s relaxed atmosphere, scenic views, and easy parking make it a lovely destination for a day trip or longer stay.

It's a shingle beach! At low tide, lovely small lagoon paddling for children inshore of rocky reef. Pity nearby Sandgate Hotel can't find its identity - fancy not serving drinks etc in the daytime! Never mind, Sandgate itself has lots of enticing cafes instead.

A lovely pebble beach. It was very quiet when we went and my children enjoyed finding stones and splashing in the water. There was a cafe at the end of the beach which had food, drink and nice clean toilets. If you are lucky you will get to see one of the fishing boats go out to sea.

Outdoor gents and ladies toilets were open and reasonable, shingle working beach with good fish and chip shop at one end and a couple of pubs and cafes dotted down the front. Parking free and unrestricted on the front with access over the sea defences to the waterfront

Such a wonderful place, lovely walks, interesting military history and the high street is old school and has some lovely places to eat and drink. Definitely recommend a visit here. It's a hotspot for water sports like paddleboarding, kayaking, and wakeboarding, while families can enjoy the Victorian tidal pool and a scenic four-mile path to Margate that's perfect for cyclists. The beach offers ample space for relaxation and stunning sunset views.
Minnis Bay Beach is such a lovely spot! I had so much fun running around and splashing in the water — I even managed to get my shorts wet (oops!). The beach has a great atmosphere, and it’s perfect for enjoying the sea breeze and a bit of carefree fun. Definitely a place I’d go back to for another sunny day out!

I visited this beach after reading it was one of the best in Kent, but I was disappointed. When I arrived, the shore was covered with seaweed and algae, which made it impossible to enjoy a proper beach day. The paths around the area are nice, but there are definitely other beaches nearby that are much better. On a positive note, it wasn’t too crowded.

A perfect beach for the family - very shallow beach which means you have to go a long way to seldom. It also means the tide comes in very fast and at high tide most of the beach is underwater. Lifeguards are on duty from 10 and dogs are allowed after the turned groin. Plenty of free parking but there is also a car park you have to pay for. Public toilets are available and plenty of places for icecreams, drinks, food. You can also hire bikes to go along the sea wall to Reculver (or further). Lots of beach huts that you can hire. The lifeguarded section can get very busy. Our grandchildren loved their time on the beach.

We love this beach, it is popular but there's plenty of space. There's a couple of Cafe/restaurants and public toilets. Tide goes out a long way but when it's in its shallow for a long way out, good for kids. Just be aware that people bring their dogs after 6 pm in the summer and they don't mind whose sand castles they go on.

A lovely beach with sand unlike some other nearby areas. It’s lifeguarded and monitored, with staff ensuring flags are moved with the tide also. It was perfect for me! Even in less than ideal weather, I was able to relax wonderfully at Ramsgate Main Sands. The long walk along the beach to the yacht marina was just what I needed after a long drive. The peace and sound of the waves did me a world of good. I was particularly impressed by how clean the beach was. I can imagine it's even more beautiful here in the summer, but it was great even now. It was the perfect way to unwind before continuing to Dover for my ferry. Cheers.

There are handy facilities nearby like toilets and adventure golf, and free parking which makes it even easier for families, couples, or anyone just wanting some fresh sea air.

A little gem of a beach, tucked away not more than a few hundred meters from the Canterbury Rd between Margate and Westgate-On-Sea. Only 1 ⭐️ because; 1. the facilities are shocking (the toilets date back to pre-decimalisation as far as I can tell) and the cafe appears to have closed in 1978 - the same time as everything else in the area by the look of it. 2. there are a number of outfall pipes running into the sea - which is a bad look these days. 3. on street parking… which is free (yay) but far from plentiful (boo). This spot has bags of potential - come on Thanet council - pull your finger out.
Glenn L — Google review
Lovely promenade to walk along, but the beach looked really ugly with the tide out. Even some what looked like sewage pipes going down to the sea. Really needs some work done here. Cafe and loos look ancient (and permanently closed in the case of the cafe). Some free parking on the street, which gives it an extra star. Not worth visiting.

The Isle of Sheppey is a popular seaside destination with wide sandy beaches, nature reserves, museums, and scenic trails. Visitors can enjoy birdwatching, spot hares in the nature reserve, and experience tranquility in the area. Additionally, it is part of Kent's extensive coastline which includes traditional holiday destinations like Margate.
Couple of hours at the Isle of Sheppey beach was simply perfect. The moment I arrived, I was struck by the peaceful atmosphere and the natural beauty of the coastline. The beaches are clean, with a wonderful mix of sand and shingle that's great for strolling and finding treasures. We spent hours beachcombing and just enjoying the fresh sea air. It's a fantastic spot for families, with plenty of space for the kids to run around and play. The water was refreshing, and the views across the estuary were stunning. It’s a genuine seaside escape that feels a world away from the hustle and bustle.

Gorgeous place we didn't know existed! The Swale nature reserve is beautiful with so many migrating birds. The are a few bird hides which are great for having a quiet moment (they are dry and warm with benches). The beach is great, sandy at the shoreline with a fabulous array of different shells. You'll need water shoes though as the shells can be sharp. When the tide goes out the sand is muddy underneath so difficult (and perhaps dangerous) to walk on. Interesting to see lots of fishermen digging for worms! One thong to note is that there are sand breakers on the beach so whrn walking across the beach there is a 'hurdle' every so often. Not a problem for us but might be for someone with resticted hip movement. We swam in the sea at high tide every day. There are jelly fish but we didn't see any stinging ones. There is only a small part of the beach with a lifeguard present. The town is a big contrast to the tranquillity of the nature reserve and beach - lots of very noisy arcades. We'll be back, but for the nature reserves rather than the town.

Sheerness - Not the prettiest of areas. We parked up after getting petrol as we saw some beautiful gates which we presumed would lead to a park and then onto the beach. (Note to self never presume). The lovely gates led to nothing really. It feels a bit run down but maybe we were just in the wrong side of town who knows. The beach itself with the steps were lovely.

The restaurant is pleasant as are the staff. I read the menu on the website but when I arrived at the restaurant I was advised that that was the Summer menu and this was the Winter menu. We were not told about any specials on the board! Not a lot to tempt me. I had soup to start potato carrots and something and although thick it was tasteless but then to find about a 3/4 inch splinter of some sort in my food put me off completely. I don't like pheasant and some fish I didn't know what it was so I was left with lamb shank not keen on lamb and the gravy or potato was sweet? So I didn't really enjoy that. Menu just not to my taste I guess. If it wasn't for the company I was with it would have been a less than enjoyable experience. Sometimes these restaurants try to do a little fancier than is necessary as I would have preferred just a salad or chicken pasta not mushroom and olives - that's too specific for some people. Not everyone likes pheasant but I know it is difficult to meet a happy medium. I was disappointed as it was my husbands birthday dinner.
Maggie O — Google review
A big piece of London clay sticking up out of the sea, in essence! There are some very beautiful parts of the island, but some areas look very tired and in need of revitalising. There is a lot of history on the island and it is certainly far more interesting than just a lump of London clay, although there is certainly plenty of that about! Warden is a good place to find fossils on the beach these days. There did used to be plenty on Minster beach, from the boom eastwards, but the fossil beds seem to have moved a lot over the past few decades. On the point of beaches, they, and the sea, are now FAR cleaner than when I lived on the island 45+ years ago. Just spent two weeks there, so can't be that bad! 🙂

It's a lovely day out, the sand is nice and soft to walk on but the sea is full of seaweed so maybe not great to swim in. On a hot summer's day the water was warm as it's shallow for at least a mile. It's a lovely walk.

A shingle beach on Whistable seafront. A great location when the tide is out to collect shells and various coloured stones and Peebles. There is a good broadwalk made of concrete and the beachfront is dotted with a number of beach huts. There is also a very nice cafe called the West Beach Cafe which serve an excellent Tea with very good scones. Alcoholic drinks are also available. Very friendly owners too. There are a number of very smart beach front dwellings. All in all a great location for a good walk as well as a place to walk your dog's.

Walpole Bay is a picturesque and calm sandy bay that offers a perfect setting for a family day out by the coast. Children can enjoy the tidal pool, rock pools, and ample sand for building castles. After some beach fun, visitors can head to the nearby mini golf course and cafe. The area also features a charming art deco-style hotel with a small bar and food options.
The walks, swimming in the tidal pool, the sauna all amazing. Good vibes. Occasionally ruined by your typical English lout who wants to ruin it for everyone. The council plans for the future are promising. Palm Bay next door is a bit more spacious if it gets busy in high season.

I loved this tidal pool. I walked along the sand for 35 minutes to get there, and it was fantastic. I felt safe as a woman swimming there at the back, having met another great woman also going for her swim.1.5hrs from London on High Speed HS1. Felt so down as thought 1.5hrs is too long but forgot all about it once I arrived, and literally am floating back on the train very completely happy. Got a Greek takeaway and had it on the beach opposite town centre with music playing across the harbour from the pubs they got there along a Pier or something. The best day of my summer out on my own.

Very nice beach, lady who owns the bright orange beach hut allows her dog to poo on the prom unfortunately though. Apart from that a lovely spot with some nice cafes.
James F — Google review
This beach is very tidal - at low tide you get a wide stretch of damp sand at the top, then a wide stretch of very wet sand/rocks. At high tide it is all under water (particularly for the hour or so either side of the peak tide). It is ok for walking along (on the damp part) or for making sludgy puddles, but if you sit directly on it you are likely to get wet. The beach is sandy but fairly coarse, and with plenty of stones and wide bands of seaweed. There are also rockpools to explore at low tide. There is a cafe and there are life guards on duty.
Jenny S — Google review
I love this beach very quiet and relaxing but the cafe isn't very nice and there isn't a lot else there for food unless you go towards Westgate. I recommend the beach and would return but will bring my own food and drink next time.

Camber Sands is without doubt one of our absolute favourite beaches in the UK. It’s a stunning stretch of coastline with soft, rolling waves of golden sand that seem to go on forever – perfect for long walks, sandcastles, or just lounging in the sun. The kids absolutely love it here – they’re constantly darting between the water and the sand, always finding something to do. Whether it’s paddling in the shallows, digging holes, or chasing each other up and down the dunes, there’s never a dull moment. There’s plenty of parking available, which makes getting in and out stress-free, even on busier days. Around the area, you’ll find handy little shops selling beach toys and snacks, which is brilliant if you’ve forgotten a bucket or spade. And for food, you can’t go wrong – there are some excellent fish and chips spots nearby, ideal for a proper seaside lunch. Camber Sands has that rare mix of natural beauty and family-friendly amenities. It’s clean, spacious, and full of charm. Whether you’re visiting for the day or planning a longer stay, it’s a perfect beach for all ages. We never get tired of coming back!

We got a great deal for 4 nights, but one week later in school holidays it would have been more than double, which is a bit cynical. Accommodation is fine 's further from the bay than you'd think and if you aren't prepared to drive every day there is very little in the surrounding area. No public transport. Facilities arnt great and close really early but the pool is nice. We enjoyed it but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it...

Booked a caravan for our family of 6 for four nights was immaculate. Had a wonderful time. On our last night we decided to visit the show at for the kids where there was face painting inside the restaurant/bar area. The lady painting my son’s face told me and my partner we could order food in as we were contemplating what to feed the kids. My kids are quite fussy so it was good to know that we could order in, however, once our food arrived and we started to eat, a lady walked over to our table and told us to go outside with our food. She was quite abrupt. I tried to explain that the face painting artist (employed by themselves) had told us we were able to order food from outside. I understand the restaurants policy but the lack of communication and the abrupt approach of the bar members ruined my experience. We ended up going back to the caravan before the family game show. I was really disappointed with the approach of the staff. We were left embarrassed and not wanting to return

Samphire Hoe is a 30-hectare nature reserve located between Folkestone and Dover, created from the material excavated during the construction of the Channel Tunnel. It offers stunning views of the White Cliffs of Dover and provides opportunities for walks, picnics, angling, and dog walking. The site is bursting with wildlife, birds, butterflies, and wildflowers. Visitors can enjoy two miles of flat, traffic-free walking trails along with peaceful surroundings amid beautiful scenery.
A great place for a walk - we took our dogs and they enjoyed it too. Yes, you pay to park, but £2 for a whole day is a bargain. The cafe is closed indefinitely, according to a crude sign, so don't expect to be fed and watered. We loved the views and the closeup contact with the white cliffs.
Peter C — Google review
It’s a really nice place for a summer’s day walk , however be prepared to take a pack lunch as the cafe wasn’t open when we went. Definitely somewhere to go before exploring Folkestone sea front where there has been a lot of work done to make it more family friendly.

Nice place in Dover with beach, rock pools and a coastal walk. Parking available but it does get full pretty quick so it’s just a case of your luck on the day. Small cafe on site but you’re better off packing food if you plan on staying for the day. You can catch fish there too so if you’re coming with kids bring your nets!

A short wait at the traffic lights and we were allowed to enter the tunnel Single lane for cars and quite steep. Car parks well sign posted. There is a cafe and toilet facilities. Parking can be brought in small sessions or £2 for the whole day. Amazing views of cliffs and coast. Several looped footpaths and dog friendly too. Dogs must be on leads as there can be grazing animals. We'll Def be back for a longer walk

An excellent place to reconnect with nature. Start at the blue watch house, read the poem on the door and explore the inside. Then follow the path and notice the wildflowers and the buzz of the bees. It's a pollinator haven. If you can, go down to the beach, it's particularly nice at low tide. Practicalities - there are decent bathrooms, a small exhibition space and picnic benches. Parking is £2in cash, you can also use the RingGo app.
Micha N — Google review
We definitely enjoyed this easy coastal walk at Samphire Hoe. This was our second option after failing to find a parking space in Folkestone! I’m glad we decided to go here instead. The views are amazing! Some people can walk along the Sea wall where you will find couple of people fishing in that area. Others can follow the gravel path to the the beach. We did the latter. There is an area along the beach further down (toward Folkestone) which I think is a nudist beach - we didn’t go as far 🙈 but overall, it was such a lovely place for a quick walk with beautiful views. Samphire Hoe is part of the Geo Park together with the white cliffs of Calais in France. We had binoculars with us, so we saw those white cliffs across the English Channel. We also spotted some butterflies and birds like cormorants and probably some starlings.

An Absolute Must-Visit! A true hidden gem with a dramatic entrance through a cliff tunnel leading to stunning sea views. Parking is a bargain at £2.50 for the day (free for disabled visitors) and can be paid by coin or the RingoApp, with free WiFi provided to help you connect. The main trail to the beautiful shingle beach is scenic and full of wildlife but can be uneven. For easier access, a separate path from the overflow car park is available but has a steep final hill. With toilets and picnic spots on-site, it's perfect for a simple, wonderful day out. We loved it!

Beautiful short ish walk. Several routes avaliable on nice track paths or you can choose the flat and easy sea wall option which is wheelchair accessible. Car parking is £3 for the day which isn't bad and there is a cafe for snacks and hot drinks. Not much seating once you head off. Beautiful Cliffs and stoney beach once you get to the end. There is a hidden spring close to the bottom of the cliff on the beach but you have to traverse the stones to get there.

Wonderful beach away from the (relative) hustle and bustle of Folkestone proper. Long pebble beach with good swimming. Normally very quiet, great for dog walkers - some restrictions apply - and just enjoying the views out to France. The Boathouse cafe is the jewel in the crown in my opinion. This is a truly beautiful place. Lovely walk along the very popular beach path. Very relaxing with the sound of the sea and wildlife across the road. The beach itself is pebbly and it's a popular fishing spot. It used to be free parking along the length of the road, but the council recently introduced parking tarrifs and installed parking meters as they have to spoil everything!

Although not as well-known as other beaches in the area, it boasts stunning views of the sea and coastline when the tide recedes. This sandy bay is approximately 150 meters long and is ideal for activities such as surfing, swimming, and sunbathing.
Lovely beach, clean and relatively quiet. There is a band of rocks to low tide need shoes. Great cafe just on the promenade for coffee and a great bacon roll (lunch available too)
Jon W — Google review
Went there years ago, forgot how rocky it is when the tide is out. Nice little beach with toilets and cafe. Parking in the road but a steep slope down to the beach. Grass areas at the top .
Martin W — Google review
A lovely, sandy beach with a cafe and free on-street parking. There’s a steep slope down to the beach, but it’s not too much of an issue.
Neil S — Google review
Love this place. Plenty of on street free parking, good access down a slope to the dog friendly beach(all year round). There's a small cafe. You can walk to Broadstairs and Ramsgate easily asking the beach.... As long as the tide is out! Lovely cliffs all along both routes.
Ian W — Google review
Great place to visit. On road parking nearby is free. Then a slope passed the public toilets (which were ok) and you are greeted with a picturesque sandy beach. Our friends brought their dogs who had a lovely time. After our strole we then went back to the little cafe where decent coffee was served. We will be returning!
Paul L — Google review
Lovely spot for a walk with the dogs as dog friendly all year, and a sandy beach. A small cafe here too where we had a full English which was lovely. There are also toilets.
Russel W — Google review
Really lovely beach, a lot quieter than Viking Bay. A fascinatingly large amount of seaweed is here, and builds up en mass in sections which, from over the top, look like a satellite view of a river running through a rainforest. The only gripe I have is how rocky it is, particularly when going in the ocean - you will experience sharp rocks, and they will hurt. I ended up wearing my sandals in the ocean, which survived and did prevent pain. Highly recommended some form of padded aquatic shoes.
Robert ( — Google review
Went on Friday and Saturday and it was very quiet, around 15 other people. Visitors tend to stick to Viking Bay so this acts as a quieter alternative, although it is steep to climb so you might opt for the lift or steps at Viking Bay and then walk around to Dumpton Gap (right hand side) if you can’t manage

Sheerness Beach is a picturesque sand-and-shingle beach located near the mouth of the Thames and Medway estuaries. The beach is bordered by open green space leading to a pleasant promenade, with gardens separating the town center from the shore. Visitors can enjoy sunbathing in these gardens if they prefer not to relax on the shingle beach. Gigis Cafe, a family-run establishment, offers a great dining option before heading back to the station.
A nice place to come too Sheerness Beach has lovely walks to walk along the beach and coast great views of the sea and nice fresh air down here. There is a kids playground and amusement arcade with bowling too. When I came to the beach it wasn't busy very quiet and peaceful. But would very busy on a summer day Sherness-on-Sea train station is across the road from here.
James G — Google review
Ive been visiting this beach for years and i have never had a negative experience. Free parking if you go up the ramp on marine parade, but beware as its very gravelly with lots of large potholes, but it still gets you close to the beachfront. Theres also free road parking further up. Always quiet, plenty of space and a nice walkway, stairs down to the beachfront which is pebbly but sandy when the tide goes out. Usually a clean beach, free public toilets further up the beach away from the town. Gorgeous for sunset views!

went for the walk after New Year. wasn't so many people. Was amazing day, lovely weather and we enjoyed. Very clean, a lot benches, you can sit and enjoy the view. Recommend to visit.
S V — Google review
Enjoyed a great day on Sherness Beach. Never been here before and was quite pleased with the uncrowded and clean pebbly beach. Be prepaed to be amazed by lots of oyster shells of varying shapes and sizes - a treasure trove for any budding archaeologist.
Christopher C — Google review
Pebble beach but the atmosphere and quiet makes up for it, a small life guard stationed swimming area is set aside for children of rocks, a short walk in to the town reveals a delightfully traditional tea shop
Andy C — Google review
Got to love this beach that's not a beach but it is a beach. Great for scooters and throwing stones.
Max D — Google review
Major major plastic pollution every meter of this long beach. Some locals are clearly attempting to clean what they can evidenced by the piles of debre collected and left by the council bins. However it is clear that the problem is on a scale that only the government and local council can deal with.
Jonny R — Google review
Lovely stretch of beach , which you can walk along to the town centre, and sometimes in the summer got ice cream van up there plus little events

Kingsgate Bay Beach, located near Broadstairs, is a hidden gem that offers a quieter and more secluded atmosphere compared to other nearby beaches. While there are no lifeguards during the summer months, families often visit this picturesque beach and can park at the nearby Joss Bay. The beach is surrounded by stunning white cliffs and features a natural sea arch that is accessible during low tide. Visitors can explore small caves and enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline.
What a stunning find! A beautiful dog friendly beach with gorgeous fine sand. No litter despite it being a busy day. Beautiful cliffs and natural stone arch similar to Durdle door. Great pub just above the bay too🙌🏻
Fiona J — Google review
Beautiful beach, although full of see weeds. We didn't swim there but stopped for some photos. Not busy at all. There's a famous pub on the hill, food looks nice and not expensive.
Stef N — Google review
30 °C, cloud free sky, warm sea water, and plenty of space at the beach? YES, PLEASE! Had an amazing outing on Sunday from 11am to 6pm~♡ Recommend this area on a nice hot summer day :))
Marian E — Google review
Lovely beach try to come here atleast once a year. Park up in the pub on the cliff for like 11 pound all day usable toilets. Walk down the steps and enjoy the sand everytime I gone there usually around 15 different grps of ppl and still plenty of space.
Alan D — Google review
A little hole in the cliff, dog friendly, parking (outside of the pub for £10, or be a customer and park for free) and a hotel that's a castle on the right. Beach is fairly small but it was a great outing with the doggo.
Nathaniel L — Google review
amazing beach with breathtaking views between large white cliffs on one side and Kingsgate castle on the other; calm and not busy at all with clean water (except for seaweed before you get into sea!!). It has a large shallow expanse at low tide so safe for children to swim, play with sand and catch crabs. No facilities on the beach but a yummy restaurant just above that opens till very late. Quite a bit to walk to get to the beach (partly no sidewalks along the way) so definitely worth taking a local cab to and from nearest train station if coming by public transport (around £10)

Public beach
Dungeness Beach is a unique destination, being England's only desert and one of the largest shingle beaches in Europe. Nature enthusiasts and photographers are drawn to its vast expanse and stunning views. The beach is a haven for wildlife, offering visitors the chance to spot over 600 species. Strolling along the boardwalk provides a peaceful experience within the nature reserve.
This is a very remote and unique place to visit. Loads of history here to explore and learn, you can go up to the top of the old lighthouse, walk around the old boat wrecks on the beach, get lunch in one of the pubs. I learned when last there that it is the only desert in the UK
Tom C — Google review
As mentioned by others it's very remote and very peaceful 😁. A tough walk on a steep sloped shingle beach. Beautiful views and a slight eerie and alien feel to the place. Not to mention the sinister twin nuclear reactors all adding to the feel of a different and unique part of the UK! Lots of birds to see for the experienced and novice birders. Watch out for Seals 🦭 in the water as well!
Ricardo F — Google review
A beach for those who prefer their coastlines moody, surreal, and sprinkled with rusty boats and art installations that may or may not be sheds. No sandcastles here, just windswept minimalism. Bring a coat, a camera, and your existential thoughts. Leave the beach ball at home.
Faye A — Google review
It's a peaceful gravel beach. 10 minutes walk from Dungeness train station. Tides are high on windy / rainy days. Old and new lighthouses are close by. Perfect to enjoy a day out with family.
Arif K — Google review
Lovely landscape ideal for walking and wildlife watching. There are two lighthouses you can visit and some fascinating buildings, please respect residents privacy when viewing the properties. There is a cafe/seafood bar, we didn't visit so can't comment on prices. The Dymchurch train stops here and there is a place to get food and drink at the train stop. There is also a couple of pubs but the one near the lighthouses closes early. A few famous people have properties here so you never know who you might bump into! It's such a vast area it's usually quite tranquil and if your patient you can get a nice photo of the many birds that can be found here. It's a beautiful place and often referred to as a desert. Great to take time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Very nice beach! There are so many things to explore here: The LifeBoat, Pebble-filled beach, lighthouse, The Pilot restaurant, Prospect cottage, Small train, etc.

Nice , big station Had plenty of facilities here ( step free access , coffee shop , bus stops , taxi rank and a Premier Inn nearby ) . The location is very good with only a 10 min walk from the town and 2 min walk from Dreamland . The main ticket machines were closed so we had to go to the other ticket machines where we couldn't buy 2 adults + 1 child on one purchase . Tickets just to Broadstairs cost £12+
Harrison — Google review
Pretty basic Victorian esq station that has no barriers but an overwhelming level of security…it’s Margate, not Westminster. It’s really nice how it opens up onto the ocean front tho and loads of parking and other transport right outside

Just returned from margate from going to margate for a holiday i am a wheelchair user the security guards and the national rail staff were sympathetic to our situation but it wasn't in their hands as the tickets to return to London was for a later train as the man in the ticket office wanted to charge my carer £40 on top of the price of the original tickets that he paid for the kind lady wanted to put us on the earlier train but remembering the man in the ticket office coldhearted behaviour we had to wait for the time for our train when we got back to the train station at 5.30 pm the ticket office was closed and the man in the ticket office had gone if the weather was bad we would have been ill due to bad weather sympathetic clarification needs to be used as the man in the ticket office was money orinated and only thought of how much money he could have made national rail when he didn't need to charge £40 on top of our return to London and the ticket office was closed when we returned from waiting three hours and the man had gone home it wasn't me who had the conversation with the man to then find the ticket office closed and the man in the ticket office had home There need to be unified clarification from national rail regarding the price of train tickets as you pay for your tickets online to then get quoted £40 on top of the original online price and the hotel had to be vacated by 12 noon and you have to wait till the departure time of train according to the ticket so if you vacate the hotel for 12 noon you have to wait till 6.20 for your train as the man in the ticket office is cold hearted
