We celebrated my daughter's fourth birthday there, and she felt like a princess, referring to the hotel as her castle. The hotel staff was exceptionally wonderful, and while we utilized valet parking due to the hotel's popularity, we were treated with great care. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, particularly for those seeking a family-friendly mini-vacation; it is an excellent choice and one we will definitely consider again!

Husband and I have lived our whole life’s in SD. That being said we are super disappointed in the experience today. He have a 27 year old friend in town from the Netherlands visiting so took him to enjoy the crown jewel of the city. Sat for a cocktail at the bar by the up coming ice rink. Our friend left his ID in the car, fine, went to retrieve it and came back to show his ID. Well the bartender took id and wanted to show the manager. When he came back they wanted a passport.never before have I heard that. And did ask for it at first. So because he didn’t have his physical passport he couldn’t sit at the bar. He had a valid id from the Netherlands shows he’s 27. Side note the lady next to us got her drink just telling the bartender she was 42 no id we over heard. We quickly finish our two drinks for 62 dollars as our friend stood back from the bar because he couldn’t sit there and left. Suuuuper disappointed to say the lease. And the bartender had more stains on his shirt than the towel he was using to wipe the counter. Way to go hotel manager.

Hotel del Coronado is rich in history, with beautifully crafted woodworking and architecture. There’s truly no other hotel like it, and we always enjoy our stays here. The newly completed renovation preserves many elements of the original buildings—such as stained glass windows and a recently uncovered mural—while updating the guest rooms. During our week-long visit, here are a few takeaways: • We were surprised to find there’s no in-room dining service. All service questions are handled by texting the main desk. • On the upside, there are several excellent restaurants on-site. If you enjoy fine dining, I highly recommend Nobu, offering exceptional contemporary Peruvian-Japanese fusion cuisine and outstanding service. • Be sure to research your room options in advance to ensure you have the features and view you want—there’s a wide variety to choose from. • The hotel is located near a military base, so you may occasionally hear jets or boats. • Guests can enjoy the main swimming pool and the hotel’s stunning oceanfront beach. • The spa is excellent and includes access to a fitness room and private spa pool. • Take time to explore the hotel’s history and visit its small museum to deepen your experience. The staff are happy to share stories about the ghost of Kate Morgan, and tours of her room (502) may be available. • Don’t miss the Crown Room, known for its grand Victorian architecture and crown-shaped chandeliers. Years ago, brunch was served in this elegant space—today it’s used for private events. I wish it were more accessible to guests.

Great location! The beach and setting are absolutely stunning and that is 100% what you are paying for. The room, amenities, and service are quite bad. In terms of service you will experience long waits and sometimes quite rude and unhelpful staff, the rooms are very very basic (worse than a Hilton garden Inn) with only the absolute essentials and none of the small touches you would experience at a luxury resort, and the whole resort is quite hard to get around with multiple layers and sections cordoned off per stay type/ room rate, so it is quite cumbersome to navigate and enjoy. Everything is extra and everything is an absolute rip off (e.g. the deck chairs and umbrellas at the beach are all extra). A 9oz glass of rose at the bar $32. The pool was very very busy and filled with kids and I can't imagine it being enjoyable in the summer. There were multiple events all day everyday so sometimes you have to walk through a conference or a wedding in a courtyard to get to your room which is a little awkward. My room had a leak in the roof making it quite hard to sleep and generally speaking the quality just isn't there for the amount you are paying. Prepare to be fleeced! On the upside the hotel is in walking distance to many wonderful shops and restaurants, the beach boardwalk is beautiful and all the restaurants on the hotel grounds have fantastic views. The rooms are generally quiet.

Highly recommend the beach front rooms. Hotel is very well kept and maintained. Such a great experience. We enjoyed wine with our hotel neighbors, sunsets, and the ocean front views. Thank you HDC we will book again soon!!

Most beautiful place. All made out of wood and old time place. The Christmas tree was beautiful. Took me back to my childhood. My great grandfather Ben Ross took the family there every winter there from Omak Washington to San Diego for the winter. My grandma and Great Uncle knew a few famous people that stayed in the hotel that time.

Hotel del Coronado is an absolute masterpiece! I’m completely thrilled with my stay at this legendary hotel. The Victorian-style architecture is breathtaking from the first glance, and the beach right at the doorstep makes it the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The rooms are spacious and elegant, the service is top-notch—staff are attentive and friendly, and the food at the restaurants is simply divine. The pools, spa, and ocean views create an atmosphere of luxury and comfort. If you’re looking for a place where history meets modern comfort, this is it! 5 stars out of 5, I’ll definitely be back! Here are three interesting facts about the hotel: 1. The hotel was built in 1888 and was considered the largest resort hotel in the world at the time of its opening. 2. It was the first hotel to be fully illuminated with electricity. 3. The famous film "Some Like It Hot" starring Marilyn Monroe was filmed here. Additional note: The hotel underwent a restoration in 2021, costing over $550 million.

We came to the Grand Del Mar for our anniversary. The property is beautiful. The pools were nice, the room was lovely and comfortable. We had lovely dining experiences at Amaya with respect to the wait staff and they also brought us drinks and a dessert to celebrate our anniversary. The steak was not, however, worth the price in our opinion. Unfortunately, the overall experience was not quite what we expected from a resort of this caliber. For instance, there was no sunscreen at the pool either day after we were told there would be. The service at the pool was incredibly slow. It took upwards of 40 min to get chips and dip. The second day we were at the pool, there were no cups out at the water dispensers at the pool and the water clearly had not been changed from the day before as it was close to empty. When pool service started at 11, we asked for water right away. We were told they would be coming around with water shortly. I watched the waiter take water to most other people but not us. My husband finally got up and found the pitcher himself after we waited at least 20 minutes. Another strange thing that happened was that someone came to check our minibar around 6 pm in the evening when we were getting ready for dinner. Our room had not been ready until about 4, so it was surprising they needed to get in so soon after to check something. We used spa services the first day we were there and our massages were amazing. The facilities were nice. However, no one told us there was a co-ed relaxation area, so we waited separately before our massages. My husband had to go out and ask for assistance after waiting awhile in the locker area not knowing how anything worked. Overall, we did enjoy our stay. All of these little concerns though would give us pause in a booking a future stay. We have been to other luxury resorts in the area and have experienced better customer service and care elsewhere.

Was amazed at the beauty of the massive grounds of this property. Very green and lush everywhere. Views everywhere of the stunning lawns and open areas. The umbrellas all over the property are stunning ! Loved the bocce ball area and the pickle ball courts and of course the gorgeous golf course that surrounds the 400 acres. Loved our large patio with the fire pit where we enjoyed every evening and morning. The food was lacking, but Del Mar and Solana Beach restaurants are so close, and have sunset views so it wasn’t a big deal to us . Also the rooms are big and comfy but could use an update but they were very clean, bed so comfy and never been in a hotel so quiet in the room at night . We stayed in a Vista Suite and it was super nice with mini kitchen and mini fridge and table to play games or eat. We will be back!

I had high expectations for what was advertised as a 5-star luxury hotel, but what I experienced was anything but luxurious. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this property is not equipped to handle the level of service and hospitality it promises. Staff & Service: The staff across the entire property were incredibly slow and inattentive. From check-in to room service and everywhere in between, we were met with long waits, lack of communication, and a general sense of disorganization. It didn’t feel like a luxury experience – it felt like they were understaffed and overwhelmed. Dining Options: There was only one main restaurant on-site, which is baffling for a resort claiming to be five-star. The menu was extremely limited, uninspired, and repetitive. The kids’ menu was even worse – the same four items were offered everywhere: in the restaurant and by the pool. No variety, no thoughtfulness, just the bare minimum. Event Experience – Wedding Disaster: We were attending a wedding during our stay and were horrified to find the ballroom’s A/C wasn’t working. The room was hot, stuffy, and completely unpleasant. The air quality was so bad that even the staff working the event looked visibly distressed and uncomfortable. It completely ruined what should have been a beautiful celebration. Fire Alarm Incident: As if that wasn’t enough, the fire alarm went off for no apparent reason during our stay. Security evacuated the entire building, which is understandable, but when I explained that my baby was upstairs in our room, they refused to let me go to her. I was forced to wait in a chaotic and stressful situation, not knowing if she was okay. My older daughter suffered a panic/anxiety attack during the ordeal, and there was little to no support or empathy from the staff. Overall Experience: This stay was not just disappointing — it was stressful, chaotic, and unacceptable on so many levels. This hotel is not ready to carry a 5-star label, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing or safe stay. We left more exhausted and distressed than when we arrived. Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5) Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

A Memorable Stay During Our Daughter’s Move-In at UC San Diego My wife, eldest daughter, and I had the pleasure of staying at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar last week while moving our daughter into UC San Diego — and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. A special thank you to Sage, Guest Services Supervisor, who gave us a warm and thoughtful welcome. We also appreciated the professionalism and hospitality of Nenad, Nathan, and Amanda in the executive office — they truly made us feel at home. The accommodations were excellent, and the adult spa pool team provided engaging, attentive service that elevated our relaxation time. It was also a pleasure to meet Swamy, Director of Engineering, who was actively out on the property ensuring everything was running smoothly — a great sign of leadership. And a shoutout to Shea, Food & Beverage Manager, whom I met while enjoying a morning coffee — your passion for hospitality shines through. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. Keep up the great work — we look forward to returning!

2025-10. Hello, we celebrated our Anniversary at the Fairmont Amaya restaurant and we sat outside which was wonderful. The atmosphere and sunny weather was excellent. Our son visited us from LA and treated us to their Sunday Brunch. Unfortunately, the food was not very good. My wife had the Benedict which had crab meat which tasted like it was out of a can, and not very fresh. We also ordered bread and it was burnt black and not eatable. They took it away and brought back bread which was hard and not eatable too. The other dishes were ok but not Fairmont calibre. The service was good, our son liked the smoothie, and the coffee was excellent. Hopefully we can try it again and try other dishes and return it if not satisfied. We probably should have complained when we tasted the food. Hope this review helps.

This hotel is beyond amazing from the style of the hotel and rooms to the staff. The staff were all friendly, helpful and caring. The valet team made sure to make us feel welcomed on arrival and even every day as we went and came back to the hotel. The front desk team were beyond amazing, professional and accommodating. Any issues were taken care of promptly. The hotel exudes elegance and class. The food was tasty and significant in portion. I can honestly say no other hotel is at the level of Fairmont Grand Del Mar- we will be back for sure!

Hands down one of my favorite hotels. The staff was awesome, area is great, extremely accommodating. We showed up with a new born at 9:45am and this hotel managed to figure out a way to get in out a little early. Staff was super cool even before my 5:00am run! We may go back to San Diego just to stay here. Love it and definitely will be back! Side note. I have stayed at many high end hotels.

Great experience! Situated in a walkable area, and not far from the airport. We enjoyed the stay so much that we want to check out Pendry’s other locations. Room was clean, spacious, comfortable — but what really stood out was how nice the hotel team was.

First class all the way. The rooms have a modern and expensive feel. Nice hard Mattress. The spa is peaceful and lovely, my masseuse Beatrice was outstanding. In all my 57 years it was the best I've ever had. My daughters and I tried their restaurant for dinner and had a yummy meal with really nice servers. They made sure everything I ordered was gluten-free, so many options here. And they take it seriously. Yay! 😊 Great job Pendry, It was my first time here and looking forward to coming back!

I had an amazing stay at The Pendry San Diego! The service team was absolutely phenomenal. A special thank you to Quartz, Ian, Roman, and John S. each of them went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and appreciated. I chose The Pendry for my stay, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding service, prime location, delicious food, and overall convenience. Looking forward to my next visit as The Pendry will now be my primary hotel choice when visiting San Diego!

We had a fantastic stay at the Pendry. unfortunately we didn't get to use many of the amenities, but the room was nice, the view was incredible. We turned down a suite upgrade without a view to wait for our 12th floor view room, and we made the right choice: city, bay, Coronado, ocean and Point Loma... all visible from the bed, or even from the full glass shower! We also dined at Lionfish, which was delicious!

Basically the perfect city hotel. Welcomed by very friendly and knowledgeable staff on arrival, and each return. Rooms are nicely finished, with great minibar offerings. Plenty of great food options. Great location.

Disappointing for the price. I was expecting a little more luxury. Rooms were small, bathrooms were tiny, decor could use a refresh (eg. carpets) and the nightclub is closed so it’s not really a hot spot. The pool vibe was decent. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for the price.

Our one-week stay at this hotel was nothing short of memorable. This will definitely be our top choice for our next visit to San Diego. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming from the start. A special thanks to Jennifer, who quickly resolved a minor concern and surprised us with an amazing complimentary upgrade. The restaurant staff were also incredibly kind and informative, making our dining experience even better. The location is unbeatable — the Balboa Theater is right across the street, where we enjoyed an Ali Saddiq comedy show. We were also able to walk easily to the Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, and the Bayfront. We 100% recommend this hotel for anyone visiting San Diego. Fantastic service, perfect location, and a stay we’ll never forget!

I traveled to San Diego to visit a friend and can confidently say this place deserves a 10 out of 10. Everything was fantastic, from the breakfast to the drinks and the overall atmosphere. I enjoyed my stay so much that I didn't want to leave. The valet parking was a bit steep at $70 a night, which feels excessive, so keep that in mind. However, the service was excellent, and the valet staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Overall, a perfect 10 out of 10!

Our stay at The U.S. Grant was excellent overall. The staff were exceptionally courteous, and the concierge service stood out for its professionalism and helpfulness. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We were here on business, and both the quality of the meeting rooms and food served was outstanding. The hotel’s location is ideal, just steps away from the Gaslamp District and a short ride to the waterfront and airport, making it very convenient. The only downside was the high cost of valet parking at $70 per day, plus substantial California taxes. While the hotel is definitely on the higher end of the price scale, the experience, service, and location make it well worth the cost.

Gorgeous historical hotel in the heart of San Diego. Very staff member is friendly and helpful! Would recommend the hotel tour on Saturdays to learn the rich history of this hotel! Every decor item is unique and of great detail. Stayed in the senator’s suite which is bigger than my apartment back home. Had a walk in closet, large bathrooms, and common area. Room included turn down service. Definitely utilize the concierge for recommendations! Only downside is some streets next to hotel feel a little rough, didn’t feel safe walking alone at night. During the day was perfectly fine walking to harbor and back. There was a lot of construction across from us. But you couldn’t hear it in the room. But valet is safely tucked inside hotel. So best to just drive to where you want to go. Always felt safe entering hotel.

A nice well designed hotel with excellent valet service, well designed rooms and a nice gym. Not the best location. But if it is just a place to sleep and you drive where you need to be, then this works great. There is some street nose, so you want to be on a high floor.

My partner and I had a perfect stay at this beautiful, historic hotel. Every detail went far beyond our expectations. The property itself is stunning—rich in character, with thoughtful nods to its history throughout. We loved our clean, spacious, light-filled room, complete with a breathtaking view. The in-room dining experience was just as memorable, with outstanding food and impeccable service. Every staff member we encountered was warm, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. You really feel like a VIP from the moment you arrive. One of my favorite touches was the evening “turn down” service in the lobby with soft lanterns offered a cozy glow and created such a warm and inviting atmosphere. It felt truly special. This hotel gets everything right, right down to all the small details. We’re already dreaming of our next visit.

We paid over $900 per night for a suite. The AC didn't work, and the room had a random sewage smell that would come and go throughout the first night. They upgraded us to a two bedroom suite on a lower level floor, which sounded like cars and motorcycles were driving through our hotel all night long. We were advised that younger children may have trouble sleeping due to the location of the room, but I'm not sure who would be able to get a good night sleep in that room considering all four of us had the white noise apps going and still didn't muffle the noise. I would expect more from a luxury hotel brand. Next trip to SD, I will go with two connecting rooms at a lower brand and save a lot of money.

Throughout all of my travels as a Federal Contractor, I have never stayed at a hotel as Excellent as this hotel. From the very first time I walked in with my work colleague, we were treated by everyone like we were royalty. Maria, at the Front Desk, has such a professional and sweet personality and made me feel immediately at home. Mike and his staff that runs the Lounge did a fantastic job. All of the food was great! The manager, Destiny, has a great personality as well and she shows that she truly cares about us having a great experience on our stay. I also really enjoyed the fitness center. I would say it is the best one I have been to at any hotel I have stayed at in the U.S. This hotel is my #1 choice to stay at any of my future trips in the area.

We were really excited about spending our last night in San Diego at this hotel because every hotel experience during our trip until this stay was fantastic. The intercontinental fell very short from being an accommodating hotel and enjoyable experience. For a hotel of its caliber they were not accommodating to any of our simple requests. First we called to ensure we could get a king room when we checked in because we knew we’d be checking in late. We were told it’d be a king room facing the water and upon checking they seemed to have no recollection or notes on that call. We then called to request a mini fridge to store some personal items and medication. We were told it would be an extra $30 per night to rent it. We then asked if we could use the “resort credit” of $23 with room service or other options on the property but were told no, we can only use the credit at the two restaurants on the property both of which were closed. In the morning we asked for a late check out to 12pm and were straight up told no without any other solutions such as offering to store our bags etc. by this point we were frustrated and asked to speak to a manager who said if we signed up for IHG rewards we could get an extra hour. Had I not asked to speak to a manager I wouldn’t have been offered this option. If you clearly do have the ability to offer extended check out why is the initial response a flat out no. The customer service is severely lacking and for an entity that is strictly based on hospitality, the hospitality was completely missing. We stayed at 4 different hotels during our trip to San Diego, from hiltons to fairmonts and previously lower star hotels such as comfort inns. We’ve also stayed at many intercontinental across north america and have never been asked to pay for a mini fridge to store personal items. They either come already equipped with them or offer them complimentary when requested. We have also never had an issue requesting check out for an additional hour. Very understandable but some policies are out of the control of the workers and managers at the hotel, but the serious lack of customer service is something they do have control over and is non existent.

This hotel should be studied for its excellence in hospitality. Everyone we interacted with on every level was fantastic: personable, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fun! Some of our favorites were: Destiny, Nathy, Sheila, and, of course, Dee H. Our plans to stay with friends fell apart last minute, so I had to make a last minute booking and Dee was super accommodating and easy to chat with. We were in town celebrating my daughter‘s 17th birthday and I asked if there’s anything she could do to make it memorable it would be appreciated. Not only did she upgrade us to a beautiful bay front view, but she also sent up an amenity cart with strawberries and champagne. Somebody please give her Employee of the Year!!!!! I can’t say enough awesome things about this property, the people, the food and the location. You guys all rock! Thanks for the wonderful experience! We’!! be back!

My husband and I spent our Anniversary at the InterContinental San Diego, and we had a blast. First, we were greeted by the bellman, Tony, who was very pleasant. Upon checking in, Maria, who is the best, checked us in to our room. Maria's level of service goes beyond just doing her job. You can tell that she truly cares about her customers. She's officially one of my favorite people. I can't forget the restaurant staff, the Manager Ryan, who took the time to talk with me and my husband, and Mia, the server who made sure we were taken care of. Last but not least, Michael the Concierge was just a joy to speak to. He helped me find some shopping areas to go shopping. You get what you pay for and the Intercontinental isn’t. Great food and service. The staff offers first class service and seem to enjoy helping guests. We will use this hotel every time we take a cruise, due to the accommodations l, service and food, and for being a 5 minute walk to the cruise terminal. Also a great location very close to the Midway and downtown.

This was our second visit to this Intercontinental Property. It is wonderful. However, our highlight was seeing and being greeted by Kirk Larowe. His smile, stories and hospitality were the highlight of our entire experience. We would come back just to see Kirk. The entire staff made a great hotel even greater. Can’t wait to see you again😊

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in! The rooms are stunning and clean with fantastic views over the city. The location is absolutely perfect. It is right next to the harbour and there is plenty of shops/restaurants around. The staff are all lovely and efficient on check in. Couldn’t recommend enough!

As locals, we decided to celebrate our friend's birthday with a spa day at Estancia Hotel and Spa, and it was the perfect choice! The amenities were excellent — heated lounge chairs, sauna, jacuzzi, and a beautiful pool. The hotel grounds are stunning and so peaceful. Staff were super friendly, and the poolside lunch options were delicious. We treated the birthday girl to a massage, and she absolutely loved it. A wonderful experience all around!

I stayed here expecting a high-end experience, but unfortunately, it was far from impressive for the $400 per night price tag. While the property itself has potential, the room I stayed in didn’t live up to the standard I was hoping for. The bathroom was particularly disappointing — there was mold and it was clear it hadn't been cleaned properly. For a property that's supposed to be high-end, this kind of neglect is completely unacceptable. I’ve attached photos to show just how bad it was. Given the steep price, I expected much better cleanliness and attention to detail. If you’re considering staying here for $400 a night, I would recommend exploring other options that provide better value for your money. There are certainly better choices out there

My husband and I spent the day at Estancia to celebrate his 50th birthday. Allison the Executive Director of Events planned a very special day for him from start to finish. She was equally as excited to welcome us to the hotel us as we were to be welcomed. She is personable, hospitable, professional and thoughtful. From the spa, to the pool cabana to the welcoming cocktail and lunch, each detail did not go unnoticed. She checked in on us throughout the day to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. If you are looking for someone that goes the extra mile to plan your special event then I would highly recommend Allison. A true professional with a friendly, welcoming attitude. Thank you, Allison! From the moment we arrived, it was a spa paradise. Marissa the spa director and team were exceptional from the start. Warm, welcoming and attentive. The spa and all its amenities were clean, well maintained and exactly what we were looking for. Ed and Moly were our massage therapists. They were professional and polite and gave my husband and I one of the best massages we have had. I have never laid on a more comfortable massage table like this one. The glass of champagne and house made chocolates were a nice and thoughtful touch. If you are looking for relaxation at its finest then I highly recommend the spa! We also had a blast at the pool bar with Daniel and Ryan. Ryan helped us with a gift card mishap (on our end) and was so nice and patient. Daniel had us laughing from beginning to end and was really fun and easy to talk to! Both were friendly, professional and efficient! Thank you, Estancia and staff! We will definitely be back!

Just came back from an amazing stay at Estancia! We were celebrating our anniversary, and everyone here made sure we felt special all weekend. So much thought was put into giving us the best experience! I want to give a HUGE shout out to the staff at Estancia, who made this stay so incredible. Acacia at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful in answering all of our questions. We spent the afternoon at the spa, where Nathalie made sure we were all set up for a relaxing afternoon. We received wonderful massages from Ronnie and Ed. We ate dinner at Mustangs & Burros. The food and drinks were delicious, and the service was amazing. Our server (didn't catch her name but really wish we had) had great recommendations, and was on top of checking in on us. We received a lovely anniversary dessert at the end of dinner. The next morning we had breakfast at Greenfinch. Another great meal here. Karina was a very attentive server. I can't rave enough about our experience. What a lux experience! Wonderful time! Beautiful place on this planet! We got some amazing hummingbird photos right at the hotel, beautiful plants and flowers everywhere, I guess the love it here too! Would i stay here again? In a heartbeat! No doubt!

Such a beautiful property! Amazing amenities with a large swimming pool and hot tub, along with great live music and yummy food and drinks. If you are an Amex Platinum member, you get 100 dollar credit for the hotel and also 60 dollar credit for breakfast, along with a late check-out.

Pros: beautiful grounds, luscious gardens, serene surroundings. Cons: pretty much everything else. We booked the stay using the Chase Edit program, similar to the Amex Fine hotels and resorts program with slight variation to the benefits. Check-in staff was less than welcoming after a day of traveling. Asked about the resort benefits and was basically told no to everything (room upgrade, late check out). That was fine since we understood it to be based on availability and not guaranteed. Tried to grab a drink at the lobby bar before closing time but was told they had issues with payment but that could be sorted by ordering it through in room dining. In room dining said they can’t do anything since the bar was closed and they can’t source the drinks. That left a really bad taste in our mouth as we felt we were brushed off due their internal mismanagement. They are quick to charge your card but slow to deliver service. If you decide to stay here, do not expect the high level of service they claim to offer. As long as you have low expectations you won’t be disappointed.

I stayed in a suite with a courtyard view, and my room was very spacious. The lobby, pool facilities, hotel grounds, and bar were all very well kept. I particularly liked the adults-only pool and hot tub, as the main pool was loud with many children. The front desk and valet staff were very attentive and answered all of our questions and requests in a timely manner.

Park Hyatt Aviara is absolutely beautiful!! We stayed 4 nights and it was wonderful! They even exceeded our highest expectations! Each staff member was well groomed with five star service mentality! Special mention of Tyler, Annie, Amir and Alex 💓 they were superbly attentive and first class 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Food was fabulous! Adult pool is beautiful and relaxing. Rooms were impeccable in every way, supremely clean, looked freshly painted, with new furniture and high quality linens .. super comfortable bed and furniture. Everything was fresh and house keeping on their A game! The whole resort is fantastic and extremely well taken care of … meticulously maintained with a spirit of excellence! I highly recommend Park Hyatt Aviara and would definitely come back! The Miraval Spa was a healing oasis! A heavenly experience of serenity and tranquillity 🌺 Super clean. Side note, we prefer a peaceful, private quiet corner and we were very fortunate that Hyatt accommodated our request to perfection! We got the top floor - suite 505 and it was spacious and beautiful and perfect for my husband and I. Plus it has a GORGEOUS view of golf course, mountains, lagoon and Pacific Ocean in the distance. Love you Park Hyatt Aviara!! Tip of the hat to your leadership and whole team!

I had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Park! The place is extremely pet-friendly, which made traveling with my dog so easy and comfortable. The service was highly professional and attentive—every detail was handled perfectly. The room itself was beautiful, private, and well-maintained, creating a really relaxing atmosphere. I also really appreciated the late checkout, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, everything felt thoughtful, seamless, and discreet—definitely a place I’d love to come back to જ⁀➴ᥫ᭡⊹₊⋆

Was here to attend a friend’s wedding and had the best time. The he rooms were spacious, well equipped and had spectacular views. The food options at the hotel were amazing too. The only thing I think the place could improve on is the late night snack and food options. It’s a popular hotel with weddings and I believe the late night snack option would’ve been amazing. Also, I was surprised to see that there was no minibar. I walked in wanting to grab a beer out of the mini fridge, but there was none available. Opportunity lost, but overall had an amazing experience. Would definitely recommend, esp for gold lovers it’s a great place to be.

A resort of true luxury and great service!! I really enjoy the adult pool with fantastic mountain view. Water is crystal clear (not the kids pool which is understandable. No one can keep the kids pool clean all the time). The golf course ⛳️ is amazing 😻. Driving range is complimentary if you stay at the hotel.

Five Star Resort - Globalist Treatment Reviewed May 24, 2024 My wife and I enjoyed our one night stay at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad. The resort is in a quiet area east of I-5 with sweeping views of canyons and a distant ocean view. The landscaping is maintained perfectly and the entire property is clean and extremely safe. Our room was upgraded to a beautiful one bedroom suite with two balconies overlooking the central courtyard area. The suite/rooms were very nicely appointed and maintained...definitely befittting a five-star property. The suite was comfortable and very spacious. Staff at check in and at the restaurant were all very professional. Breakfast at the restaurant was very tasty and plentiful with the Globalist "benefits". We were very pleased with the resort, the staff and the experience overall and would happily return for another visit. Date of stay: April 2024

This was my first time my family and I stayed at this resort and it will not be my last. This hotel really caters to all families and the service it provides is unlike anything I have experienced. The rooms were clean, the service was the best and catered to all our needs, the pool was spectacular I could go on and on. The 4th of July event was maybe one of the better events I have ever attended, the food, the bar, the fireworks, the band it was just perfection. I would like to thank Nate (GM) who helped us out with securing a table, taking care of us at the pool, along with Sophia (server). This hotel is 5 stars for a reason, and we look forward to coming back again. Thank you again for a great trip! Gus

This hotel is iconic so I had to scratch the itch. Although a gem, with great service and an excellent restaurant, it needs, like a month long deep cleaning. The pool needs a redo. The pool attendant is a very nice, hard working guy. I realize it was mid August when I stayed, understanding the summer rush can be brutal, but my little eye could spy details like unnoticed trash in the chaise lounges and around the pool bushes. The pool bar and spa need a lot of work, gardening needs, in the room maybe a carpet cleaning, unclog the bathroom sink, give us a newer couch, (kind of tired in the rooms). Good linens and bed, thank you! . . . Overall, the charm & location is unrivaled. Perhaps that is why management doesn’t think they need to pay too much attention to deep cleaning.

My wife and I fell in love with LaValencia a few years ago, and were delighted when our daughter Brittany and her husband Brandon decided to have their wedding there this September. From our first interaction with Bobby Fader, LaValencia's Director of Catering, he was a complete professional, and his assistant Dani was attentive, knowledgeable and amazing. As we live in the Chicago area and the bride and groom in L.A., their referrals for local florists, venues for after party and talent were all top notch. The day of the wedding we were so very well taken care of, with Dani seemingly everywhere at one time! We are so very grateful to the entire staff for helping us to put together this dream wedding, and we recommend LaValencia for anyone who wants to have an amazing event in one of the most beautiful venues in California.

La Valencia delivers. The location is ultra-walkable to downtown La Jolla, shopping, dining, and scenic walk to the cove. We booked an ocean-view suite sight unseen. Upon check-in, we were surprised there was no balcony and I would call our view "parking/rooftop view with ocean behind and to the far right"...but.... here is the good stuff. The Cove is a nice walk away down on-property stairs and an access controlled street gate. A huge park is between the hotel and the ocean. It is a nice place to walk and check out the sea lions. Lots of restaurants, hair salons, shopping, ice cream, and dining within a close walk. We went to the hotel table seating room for drinks and small bites. Had a few excellent rum runners and also got shrimp cocktail, hummus, and charcuterie. All excellent. Room was ready over an hour early which was nice. We had to check out super early 04:30 and valet parked our car out front...super convenient and much appreciated. Suite: decent, comfy, single sink and single restroom, no balcony, oceanview technically correct but not an amazing view. Room could have been cleaner. Shoes stuck to the floor in some spots. Clean and comfy bed. Dining/drinks: 10 out of 10. Fun date location with the wife. Got to chill and unwind with great drinks and bites. Location: crazy good. Service: great

A Unique and Dog-Friendly Gem The staff at La Valencia are incredibly kind, professional, and respectful. This hotel is truly dog-friendly — at check-in they even put my dog’s name on the reservation, which made us feel so welcome. They even have a special dog menu! The food is beautifully presented, and the architecture is stunning, with traditional Spanish touches and gorgeous ceramic tiles on the walls. It feels like a one-of-a-kind place, full of charm and character. Totally recommendable for anyone visiting La Jolla.

The rooms are kind of old, AC won't get you cold. The beds are okay. The shower is nice. The water took forever to get hot. The location is beautiful though. Great place to stay if you don't care about the hotel too much.

We came for lunch. We have been to La Valencia many times both for just a meal and to stay for a couple of days. Yesterday we came just for lunch. I ordered the soup and when it came there was an audible gasp at the table. The soup came in a bowl that only held four ounces of soup. There was one piece of chicken. There were no crackers, no bread nothing. When I left I was hungry. I love the La Valencia. The service was great, but I feel the price and the amount of food was unconscionable. I was really kind of angry when I left. I will have to think long and hard about coming for a meal again.

Stayed here because of an American Express deal. I was hoping for a great view on the ocean side but I was on the street shops side. Oh well. At least it was quiet. Or maybe it was the loud HVAC that was drowning out all other sounds. The restaurant was decent. The poke nachos were a messy presentation, could be improved. Room service was good. If you call before 7 am, they will get your breakfast to you shortly after they open which is great. The best thing about this hotel, was I got in early and they actually accommodated the early check in option which I very much appreciate. Things to improve on: front desk didn't go over the american express deal which every other hotel goes over, talking about amenities. Front desk day 2 guy didn't know about putting the breakfast order in early.

I’m a SD native and came here to listen to jazz. We used to come here to eat back in the day, the hotel is so elegant. The jazz music was wonderful! I also had crab cakes which tasted like they were made with canned crab, but they were ok. The desserts were good and so were the cocktails. The staff are friendly and helpful. We spent a relaxed evening.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. We stayed here for four nights whilst in San Diego and loved our stay. The only real room for improvement we found was that the room we were in (1698) could have benefited from some minor TLC as the wallpaper had peeled from the wall in some areas and the shower leaked water (looked like the door was missing a seal at the bottom) HOWEVER these are very minor cosmetic complaints. Lovely night at the Westgate, little staycation for us. We took an uber to Michelin Star Lola 55 and came back to hotel to enjoy the rooftop pool and jacuzzi. There was live music in the lobby, so quaint! Loved the cozy robes, and the darling bartender Brandon made sure we were all set up with buckets of beers before he left. We watched the Dodgers win the World Series from the jacuzzi, such an experience! The other hotel guests were lovely and exited to be there. We enjoyed room service with a view from the 18th floor Premier King room. Loved the decor. Very Parisian! Enjoyed the heated pool and jacuzzi with several lounge area options before out late check out. Valet Sam was darling, you can tell he loves his job! Would stay there again and highly recommend the hotel as a top-not h experience.

Omg completely in love with this place. Came to have a little staycation for our anniversary. We were a little nervous and intimidated coming in but the service was very helpful. We were hungry and went to the restaurant for breakfast. Got greeted by everyone. And when we told our server that it was our anniversary he went out of his way to get us the best picture and told us how to pose and everything. Favorite thing is Gabriel(the server) told us " if you wanna make everyone envious tell them you went to paris for your anniversary. They always buy it .

We recently stayed at The Westgate for Comic-Con. If you're familiar with the process, you basically put your name into the hotel lottery and hope for the best, and I definitely got lucky. It was my first time staying here, and hopefully not the last. Every single staff member I interacted with was warm, personable, and genuinely friendly. From the moment we arrived, the valet made us feel welcome and gave us a helpful lay of the land. Meli at the front desk checked us in and patiently answered all our questions. The hotel has a high-end, old-school charm, like something straight out of Mad Men. Our room was impressively spacious, very clean, and surprisingly quiet given the weekend crowd. I sent out for dry cleaning and it came back quicker than expected. When I called to request it, someone came to my room right away, just another example of how responsive the service was. The restaurant and bar were excellent, even though the main dining area was under renovation. If what we experienced was their temporary setup, then I’m excited to see the final version. The burger and stuffed pancakes were both delicious, and the bar served up well-crafted cocktails. I especially liked the Perfect Martini and the French 75 that I ordered. Location-wise, it was ideal for Comic-Con, walkable to the convention center, and also along the official shuttle route. Valet service was quick and efficient, which made things even easier. Considering the hotel was almost certainly at full capacity, the fact that everything ran so smoothly, and with such a personal touch, was genuinely impressive. I’m hoping I get paired with The Westgate again for a future Comic-Con, but even if not, I’ll definitely be returning for a vacation or weekend getaway.

The Westgate stands out as an oasis of luxury, beauty and old fashioned customer service in the heart of the Gaslamp District of San Diego. All Grand America hotels are unusual in that they prioritize luxury, quality and exceptional service. They must be a great place to work too because staff work there for years. I remember Gabriel from my visit to the Westgate 8 years ago and it was so nice to see him again this visit. The rooftop pool is a great spot to swim and great spot to watch both sunrise and moonrise. Brandon at the rooftop pool bar was welcoming and friendly. The rooftop gym is amazing. We had an all around great San Diego visit thanks to the Westgate.

Cruel, Unprofessional, and Unfit for Hospitality I stay at the Westgate San Diego often for work, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Three out of four elevators were out of service, and it took me over 15 minutes just to get downstairs. That alone was stressful enough, but the real problem was the front desk staff member (who seemed to be a manager). When I called to ask about the elevators, he answered with pure attitude instead of helping. Then, when I got downstairs to quickly buy an Evian water before heading to the airport, he intentionally dragged out the process. He kept saying things like “I entered my password wrong” or “I clicked the wrong thing,” wasting more and more time even though he already knew I was late because of the elevators. To make it worse, he claimed he couldn’t process my contactless payment until I told him if my card was Visa or Mastercard. That’s simply not true, I’ve paid for water here many times before without being asked that. The whole interaction felt cruel, like he went out of his way to make me miss my flight. Traveling for work is stressful enough. It’s not my fault the elevators were broken, but being treated this way by someone in hospitality is unacceptable. Just because I’m not personally swiping a credit card for the room doesn’t mean I deserve less respect, my employer pays for me to stay here, and we should all be treated as valued guests. This staff member either needs serious customer service training or should not be in that position at all. Hospitality is about helping people, not punishing them. If this is the behavior of a manager, then Westgate San Diego has a serious customer service problem.

We just finished visiting Loews and we thought it was an alright resort. The lobby and location are definitely impressive and very nice! The rooms felt a little outdated and dingy for how much they are. We were visiting for a wedding weekend for context. There is a free shuttle to downtown coronado which will definitely save you at least $15 in uber/lyft to that area so that was very welcome! The pool/hot tubs were great and open late. However, I feel like there should be more amenities for the price (e.g. breakfast included, airport shuttle, parking, etc). Beds were comfy and every room had a balcony! Staff were friendly but could've explained the amenities better when checking in. We discovered most of them through the website. Overall the wedding venue was fantastic and had such pretty views of the ocean/bay area. Since this hotel is on the strand, expect to pay and wait a bit more for an Uber/lyft compared to staying in downtown coronado. We probably wouldn't stay here again unless it was for an event.

We just returned from four days at Loewes Coronado Bay Resort and it was absolutely lovely! Yes, the property is a bit older, but I'll take a one-bedroom, bay view suite for a fraction of what some other resorts in the area cost. The service was really wonderful from the front desk to housekeeping, the pool server, and the lobby bartender. Self-park is pretty pricey especially with the added daily resort fee...plan on an extra $500 in those fees over a four-night stay. The main restaurant is just OK, but we had an excellent burger in the lobby bar and some delicious tacos by the pool. The proximity to the ocean and bay-views make the location really wonderful. I would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Wonderful gem in San Diego - location is idyllic and a refreshing change from other resorts/hotels for those looking to enjoy tranquility and charm of Coronado island. I actually love the fact it's not right in the Hub of town and more remote...and LOEWS provides shuttle service to Coronado town center when you want more Dine/Shop/Activities. Also, you can even use local bus to reach the resort, the journey provides wonderful views as it goes through Coronado and the famous bridge. Gorgeous views of water, Coronado bridge, downtown skyline...the grounds are impeccable with lovely trees/flowers and their own herb garden. Food onsite is very good with excellent views, awesome outdoor deck adjacent to bar. 3 different pool, excellent jacuzzi with strong jets and good gym. Many come here for conferences, I came here for Rest & Relaxation...there is something for everyone. Definitely recommend - have stayed here twice and loved the experience. RICK at Front Desk took excellent care of me and look forward to coming back again soon!

I think as some other visitors this is an average experience for what you pay to be a “luxury hotel”, in a excepcional location!! The rooms are simple ok with Full size beds, not even Queen!! ..the TV was just Cable/local channels and didn't provide the option to log into Netflix.. TV is not Smartv!!. Olease dont take your car to the RESORT, they charge 50dlls a day to park car in basement, I think it should be free because your paying $300 dlls a night and they dont offer parking or continental breakfast service! Everything in resort you have to pay… the only thing free is the pool!! At nights they dont offer free shows like for example someone playing guitar or singing.. it should be a good a idea having some one singing nest to bar at least they would have people consuming drinks… because bar was very alone most of the time!! Im my opinion your paying moren for what you get!! I booked 5 nights and I had to go to Coronado Hotel bar to have fun the last 3 days!!

We normally come down to San Diego for our anniversary weekend and stay at Paradise Point but after 10 years of it and a declining management that was unapologetic for their mishaps we decided to give our 11th anniversary a try with the Loews Coronado and it did not disappoint. Front desk Rick was a complete star and gave us good vibes immediately with a genuine sense of welcome and appreciation for our stay. It was followed by a generous upgrade to a suite and chilled champagne, Chocolate covered strawberries and a handwritten note signed by the Loews family. We will come back and stay at their Villas next time. Yes the resort seems dated but upkeep in our suite was irreproachable. A+++ to the resort management, ownership and entire staff for being so welcoming and joyful.

I came here for a business trip and I was not impressed- I would not consider this a luxury resort by any means.. Rooms were very old and dated, in 2025 you have TVs that you can't cast to? There are very limited dining options within the hotel and the food was fine nothing to rave about. The service truly left something to be desired all around. I truly felt invisible in this hotel and not in a good way. Leaving this review on a good note, the mexican food at the pool was on point! Best part of the hotel!

The rooms are old, outdated, and are randomly stained. There are mold stains under the faucet handles, stains on the curtains; and the bathtub looks like it was installed in the 70s. $55 per night parking + ~$40 daily resort fee + $15!!! per day fast(er) wifi (if you want to watch videos and stuff), and dull lifeless rooms bookend the experience. It is good if you want close access to the beach and good views of the harbor but only if you pony up the added cost for the better view rooms. Not sure why Amex puts this in their premium hotel collection list. Also Not sure if its worth recommending even at the low cost of entry since they anyway tack on shady resort fees, absurd parking fees and fees for decently usable wifi… there are better options but it does have it charm. The location is nice if you like seclusion to a certain extent and there are decent on site dining options that are unfortunately again a little too pricey. This hotel desperately needs a renovation to bring it to modern standards. We were torn between the Pendry and this and I guess if we knew what we know now, we would have go to the Pendry

We have stayed at this Hyatt many times on our visits to San Diego. Perfect location for a sunny SD stay. Central location for your vacation. Close to restaurants and a nice stroll on the marina and downtown. Close drive to Coronado, the beaches, universities. Etc. Nice rooms. Great customer service. This time we experienced the club level. The buffet breakfast was surprisingly good with fresh food and lots to offer, including proteins and plenty of pastries yes I will. Thank you so much. Have a great day. Decent coffee and excellent service. Staff was constantly refreshing the fruit, eggs etc.

We had a wonderful stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt during a conference at the convention center. Rooms: Very quiet, well-equipped, and comfortable! We also had a wonderful view from our room. It should be noted that while there are refrigerators in the room, there is not a microwave. Amenities: The fitness center at this hotel is wonderful! Clean, and most all of the weight and cardio equipment you could ask for. Service: We had a wonderful experience with the front desk at check in and check out, cleaning service, and baggage hold. Location: This property is in a wonderful location. It is just minutes from the Convention Center and the waterfront. The trolley and bus stops are also nearby, making it convenient to get to other parts of San Diego. Little Italy is also around a 20 minute walk away - perfect for dinner!

We stayed one night at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego while visiting a friend and overall had a very good experience. The hotel is beautiful, with a nice food/bar area, a Starbucks, a great pool, and it’s conveniently located right next to Seaport Village. The highlight for me was the shower—excellent water pressure and perfectly hot. There were two drawbacks. First, our room smelled strongly of cigarette and cigar smoke. Honestly, it was almost a deal breaker, but since it was already 11pm and I was too tired to ask for a different room, I just dealt with it. Thankfully, the smell faded by morning. Second, we didn’t realize until we arrived that parking is not included and costs $55 per day. You could try finding street parking, but that would be frustrating, so we just paid the fee. If you book here, definitely factor that into your budget. Overall, it’s a very nice hotel in a fantastic location. With a fresher room and clearer notice about parking, it would have been excellent.

I just stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and for a Hyatt I was actually disappointed. We had issues at check in where the hotel charged my card 2x over $1800. Then, they charged me for a room upgrade and it honestly wasn’t even worth it. They said I’d get a newer room with a better view. Yes, better view but the room wasn’t that great. The fridge kept leaking, the safe did not work well, the towels had holes in them & some were stained. I will say that any time I called for new towels they did arrive fairly quickly. I put a do not disturb sign on my door and when I stepped out and came back to my room they had cleaned my room. Obviously the do not disturb sign didn’t work. That was very annoying. Upon check out we had issues again with charges and using the parking deck as my flight was later than check out time. The hotel manager offered to waive the late check out fee & give me 40K in Hyatt points for all of the inconvenience. Honestly, he was ok but I will not be returning to this facility.

I will make this a bit short because there would be allot. For what you get the price is great, for what you have to pay for destination fee, it's pretty lame. So, I split a room for 5 nights. Got 1 boat ticket I should get 1 per night. Pool closes at 10 which is ok but I don't want to swim after 10 but I want to sit up there and have fun and enjoy a group of people and yet they close the entire area. The $15 per day for food or drink.. worth it. No free or basic breakfast for the cost. The view is great but the "upgrade" cost per night (which I didn't do) sounded ridiculous. The best part was I came in on Wednesday, left on Monday and flight came early early and for to hotel at 1130 and instead of making me wait till 4 the room was ready and allowed me to check in early for free. Thank you. (So many other benefits or things you are forced to pay for with the destination fee but most are pretty lame.) How about choices, instead of this get free breakfast or Don't take the solo boat ride (again should be able to get more then one when you share a room). Overall I would recommend the place if you are willing to spend more then other hotels in the area

I was so disappointed with this hotel. It’s average. The room is not as clean as I would prefer and the shower doesn’t work great. More water comes out of the bottom then the top shower head. The furniture was pretty banged up and the comforter was literally just wrapped in two sheets - which didn’t give me a clean vibe. The pillows are cheap as well. The elevators are very interesting as well. I would not stay here again.

1 night in downtownSD is all it takes to feel alive again~ perfect birthday getaway. Thank you Hyatt for making this a truly special time for me. The special dessert treat waiting for us in the hotel room was a wonderful surprise. Lovely view of the Bay and the most comfortable bed and pillows for a great night sleep. The hotel hospitality from front desk to the bar was above average and genuine. Park the car for $45 self parking per day. We walked everywhere, or took the trolley to Little Italy.

Stayed here during my husbands conference. Location gets the most points, being at the marina, beautiful view, amazing sunset. Went for plenty of walks! Food was probably the least as to which I had to drop a star. The breakfast buffet was absolutely not worth 40$ at Marina Kitchen. I asked the host if there were any non buffet breakfast options and she only mentioned the Starbucks. I wish I researched better bc the Exchange Marketplace across from Marina Kitchen DID HAVE BREAKFAST. Partially my fault for not looking harder but I felt like she really played me for a fool when she said that. So I got stuck with a 40$ breakfast buffet that was subpar. The food at Agave located by the pool area was pretty good though! I also dropped a star for amenities, (paying for location mainly IMO) the hotel amenities weren’t great (idk if I’m also comparing to other hotel chains as it has been a while since I stayed at a Marriott) but I really expected robes, even slippers 🥲. - Only 1 side of our bed had a nightstand with an outlet so that was inconvenient. - Wish there were more hooks in the bathroom (who puts their towel on the towel bar IN THE SHOWER??) I didn’t think this place deserved 3/5 stars. Moreso 3.5-4 mainly bc of location. I would hope corporate takes these suggestions into consideration ☺️

Great location with great amenities. A short Uber from the airport. Rooms are spacious. I had a balcony room which was great. Not 100% private so be aware. Pool and gym were excellent. Food was good and priced for what you would expect. Nice add one for Marriott Elite members. Great area of the Marina to walk or bike!

Overpriced usual hotel. It’s not luxury as it stated. Parking is just some spots outside the building, so if you want covered parking-pay for valet parking. Breakfast costs $100 for 2 persons. Seriously? $100 for 4 eggs 2 sausages and cup of coffee? Don’t forget to pay $45 resort fee on the top of overpriced room For NOTHING. No any water inside the room, but it says “free complimentary water”, no ANY water. No wending machines to get some water. Only one wending machine at the lobby level. No free WIFI😆lol. It’s 2025 and this hotel charge people for WiFi. The cheapest motels provide free WiFi, but this scam hotel will charge you for bad quality WiFi. Restaurants have poor menu and overpriced food. Beds mattresses are disaster. Very bad quality for “luxury hotel” that we paid $500 per night. Uneven surfaces of mattresses made my body hurt when I woke up. audibility of walls is very good, and it should not be like that. I don’t have to listen to my neighbors watching tv. Shampoo and conditioner are awful, my hair feels like hay after it. Disgusting smell of shampoo, body wash and conditioner. No any night light in the bathroom, so if you want to use the bathroom at nighttime you will need to turn the bright light in whole bathroom . Super cheap coffee maker in the room, super cheap coffee in the room. I will never stay in Marriott ever again. It was my first and last time I ever stayed there. Disappointed

The highlight is the gym and the resort style pool area. It was a great place for the work conference we attended. Rooms were solid. Slightly older, but solid. Spacious. The vending selection is modern and a nice touch. On-location restaurants and food options were also great.

We really enjoyed our overall stay at this property — the room was comfortable, and the experience inside the hotel was great. However, there are two major issues worth pointing out. First, the windows in our room were very dirty, which made it hard to fully enjoy the view we paid for. Second, and most importantly, the parking experience has been a nightmare. While our car was parked in the hotel’s lot (for which we paid over $100 for two nights), corrosion from the ceiling dripped onto our car. At first, we didn’t realize how serious it was, but after washing the car, the paint peeled off both sides, leaving us with over $1,000 in damage. When I called the hotel, I spoke with Ashley (the operator). Instead of offering any accountability or support, she told me to “contact the owner of the parking lot” — even though this is the Marriott Marquis parking lot. When I pressed for help, she became dismissive, pretended not to hear me, and then hung up on me. This was shocking and extremely unprofessional. I now have to go through my insurance to fix the damage, but I’m very upset that a hotel of this caliber would wash its hands of the problem so quickly. Guests deserve better support and accountability, especially when parking is this expensive.

I thought going into it that the resort fee was a bit expensive but I quickly found out why and took full advantage of it. The rooms are very clean and room keeping comes around often to clean. Our view of the city was lovely. The gym was very well equipped with machines but limited on free weights. The Starbucks in the north tower was very convenient. And oh my gosh the pool!! Absolutely beautiful area with palm trees so pretty it feels like your in paradise. The pool is at a perfect temperature that no one could complain about. There is 2 bars with slightly overpriced mixed drinks and sodas. There were 2 hot tubs, one of them was very hidden so it was almost always empty. There is a gate near the edge of the pool area that leads to a beautiful boardwalk into the shops and seaport village.

For $500 a night, this was really disappointing. There’s no internet in the room even though it clearly says there is on the card. The beds are uncomfortable, the rooms are small with low ceilings, and while the view is great, you have to pay extra for it. The location is great, and the service is good, but that’s about the only highlight. Overall, this felt more like a 2–3 star hotel experience at a luxury price.

My biggest problem is the safety and security. Anyone can drive right in and right to your room. There was a car very slowly rolling through the entire resort at 3 am blasting it's subwoofer so loud it shook all the buildings and so NO ONE got any sleep! Very clean and kept up. All staff are wonderful. All very hard working. BUT, the ownership is clearly stingy and need to address the high prices for all the extras that are supposed to set the place a part from any other hotel. They nickel and dime you for everything! Parking is $47/day! The jet skis are $250/hr! They charge for the coffee! And the room coffee doesn't count because I wouldn't touch that if I was paid to... those pods are toxic. To set you a part from just any hotel there's all the other resort amenities but you way overcharge for them. They should be included for the price of the stay! The only thing good was the service and people. And cleanliness. Very kind. But sadly they work for a very stingy ownership. I just hope they are compensated very well and that you aren't stingy with their pay! The pools were very clean and nice.

This was a really cool resort. It is huge though, so if you have heels on, you might want to take advantage of their golf cart service. The property is quite old, but the rooms are nicely renovated and felt clean. The room service food was amazing!! The AC worked well and was able to keep my room the temperature I wanted. There are many pools and activities. The restaraunts are okay, not blowing my mind which is unfortunate, the fancier restaraunt really did not meet our expectations and was quite expensive. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Pickleball courts and equipment were in pretty terrible condition though, the paddles they gave use were not even usable, they were very broken.

Easily the most beautiful setting of any hotel I've ever had the pleasure of staying at - a true tropical oasis. The service was impeccable and especially friendly - warm and welcoming. The beds were luxurious and comfortable. The five pools were stunning. And the activities! They were never-ending. We especially enjoyed the mini golf. If you're looking for a unique way to spend your San Diego getaway, don't pass up Paradise Point. It's central to everything, and yet an entire world away from it all. No other place like it!

I'd suggest that you ccheck on the sliding door in the shower stall - it does not stay put when you slide it all the way to the sides. Also, I'd suggest that you carry more food items, espcially fruits and healthy foods, like a regular convenience store or gas station might have, including milk, cookies, candies, bread, etc. I struggled to find anything meaningful or useful to buy. The prices were too high too. Please be mindful of that. Rest was fine. I appreciate the help with toiletries such toothbrush and toothpaste, the golf cart rides, and the umbrella in the rain on Tuesday, October 14. I checked out the Spa (didn't have the time or means to use it) - the lady was very courteous to show me around and I found the facilities to be impressive. Wish I had the time and money! All employees (concierges, golfcart drivers, receptionists) were fantastic - nice and kind and helpful.

My husband and I had just gotten married and when we checked in, the staff were so lovely and accommodating. We had told them we had just gotten married that day and they gave us a free room upgrade! Very easy, quick check in process. When we arrived to our room, it was spotless and beautiful. Not too long afterward, the staff knocked on our door and gave us a bottle of champagne with glasses AND a hand written card with hand drawn drawings on it of wedding rings and big, bold colorful letters wishing us congratulations and a heartfelt note. It was so very thoughtful and we felt so special! While we only live about a half hour away, we will definitely be staying here again.

I am a local San Diego Wedding Planner and I had the amazing privilege to work with the Paradise Point team to execute a gorgeous wedding earlier this year in May. Our wedding planning team works on the paradise point property pretty frequently and it is always such a pleasure and so seamless! I worked closely with Sydney during the wedding planning process and she was and has continued to be such an incredible asset to the Paradise Point team. She was very hands on and always available for me and my team as well as our couple and their families. She is very detail oriented and always going above and beyond to make sure the event runs smoothly from both a service and guest perspective. Sydney is so genuine and kind and I always look forward to the opportunity to work with her. Paradise Point is a gorgeous property and the staff, specifically the banquet and events teams always work so hard to put on the most gorgeous and thoughtful events!

I came here for a work conference and it completely met my expectations. The conference room was a bit cold but is not usually for these types of medical conferences. The breakfast they served was delicious. I enjoyed both the main pool and the adult only pool. I enjoyed the pool options. My room was perfect and had a back door directly leading to the beach. It is more geared towards families but couples can have a good time here as well. Booking kayaking was easy and the on-site restaurants were delicious. The staff was friendly also.

Clean room, good shower! I travel a lot for work and am critical of cleanliness, bed comforts, amenities and room service/fiod quality. The food was good the first night. The second order was inconsistent and the dessert was uncooked. The staff was friendly. The windows seat was awesome! My room had adorable hotel postcards. The gym was nice and clean! My shower head dropped all night, but maintenance took care of it immediately.

Look, I'm not usually one to write scathing reviews but Hotel Republic really left a sour taste in my mouth. Let me walk you through what happened because honestly, I'm still trying to process it. So I'm supposed to be in town for CRSSED and book Hotel Republic - seemed decent enough from the photos and reviews. The night before check-in, I reach out asking to cancel my reservation. Pretty clear request, right? Instead of just processing the cancellation, they send me this follow-up asking if I want to cancel. Which... wait, what? I literally just told them I wanted to cancel. Why are they asking me again if I want to cancel when that's exactly what I requested? I don't see their message until the next day and when I do respond, I'm honestly a bit frustrated by the circular logic here. I mention that their handling of this could be disputed with the attorney general - just a factual statement about how businesses should handle cancellation requests properly. Here's where it gets completely inappropriate. Instead of just processing the cancellation I asked for TWICE now, they accuse me of being "aggressive" in my communication. I went back and reread my messages because maybe I missed something? Nope. I was straightforward and factual. Apparently mentioning basic consumer protection laws when a business isn't handling a simple request properly is now considered hostile behavior at Hotel Republic. The whole interaction left me genuinely uncomfortable about staying there. Like, I ask to cancel, they ask me if I want to cancel (???), and when I point out that this kind of runaround could be problematic from a consumer rights perspective, suddenly I'M the aggressor? If this is how they respond to guests who know their rights and expect basic competency, what does that say about their business practices? 1/5 stars. Hotel Republic can't even process a straightforward cancellation request without making it weird and defensive. The fact that they got accusatory when called out on their poor handling tells you everything you need to know. The last thing you want to deal with when you have a personal emergency.

The location is excellent. I stayed here for a night over the weekend. The staff at both bars was amazing and provided great service. The only issue I had was with the breakfast voucher (Titanium member). Even though the reservation was for two people and the welcome information flyer mentioned that it was for two, they only offered me one voucher. They said that since my wife wasn’t a Titanium member, she shouldn’t get a breakfast voucher even though the reservation was under my name. After a few minutes, they offered a “one-time exception” and provided a second voucher for the second person. This is something to consider when staying over the weekend, as the club lounge is closed for breakfast.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Rude Staff, Allergic Food Served, and Non Apologetic. I had one of the worst hotel experiences at Hotel Republic San Diego, Autograph Collection. I had booked a 2-night stay, but due to extremely poor service and a terrible incident during breakfast, I had to check out after the first night. During breakfast, the staff was rude, unhelpful, and completely unprofessional. Even worse, they served food containing allergens to my kids despite informing them clearly about the dietary restrictions. This put my children’s health at serious risk. Even at the reception the staff was rude. When I reported the issue, the staff showed no empathy or responsibility. There was no apology, no assistance, and no willingness to make things right. To make matters worse, even though I checked out after one night, they charged me for the full 2-night stay and offered zero compensation for the inconvenience and distress caused. I expected much better from a Marriott Autograph Collection property, but this experience was completely unacceptable. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families, and I urge management to seriously improve their service standards and customer care.

Stayed at Hotel Republic San Diego as the first stop of my trip and had a wonderful experience. The location is excellent and very convenient — close to the train station, ferry, Little Italy, and the Gaslamp Quarter, all within walking distance. As a Marriott Platinum member, the check-in experience was detailed and thoughtful. The front desk went through every membership benefit and destination fee amenity, and I was upgraded to a corner suite for my birthday. The suite was spacious, with a large bathroom (shower + bathtub) and sunset views of planes landing over downtown — stunning! The destination fee is actually worth it here: bike rental with locks, access to a full professional gym across the street (with sauna), $25 F&B credit, and daily yoga. The rooftop restaurant/bar was another highlight — had a fantastic tequila-based cocktail with a great vibe surrounded by downtown’s glass buildings. Overall, boutique feel, excellent service, practical amenities, and very convenient location. Only small downside is no pool, but it didn’t affect my stay. Highly recommend!

Meh best describes Hotel Republic San Diego. Although the location is very good, they, like nearly many other hotels have contracted out their valet service - in this case to Ace Parking. While they did deliver the vehicle when requested, 'at their own pace' sums up the speed. In addition, the employees at the property were indifferent in attitude and helpfulness on more than one issue. The property offers decent value for the money, but not great value and the overall service feeling was very middle-of-the-road.

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. From the moment we checked in, things felt off. They advertise a $25 food and beverage credit, but it’s completely misleading. That “credit” is just part of a mandatory $25 destination fee they charge no matter what. So whether you use it or not, you’re still paying for it. It’s deceptive. Valet parking is another rip-off—$65 a night, when there’s a garage across the street for just $15 overnight. It’s clear they’re overcharging wherever they can. The food itself wasn’t bad, but like everything else here, it was way overpriced. Definitely not worth what you’re paying. The hotel is also in a terrible location—right next to a county jail, with a constant heavy police presence and a large homeless population right outside the building. It didn’t feel safe or comfortable. Rooms are small, outdated, and the showers are old. Nothing about the stay felt like it matched the price point or expectations. I would not recommend this hotel at all. There are much better, safer, and more honest options nearby.

Tower23 is good if you're wanting to watch a big game, or if you're wanting to sit outside and have a lunch! The inside is quite rowdy during a game, so we sat outside and had a nice dinner. It's along the boardwalk so you can take a nice walk after you eat too! The food was pretty good!

Location can't be beat. Restaurant / bar at the ground floor is awesome. Rooms are sufficient, not anything super special. I've stayed here like 3 times now. Definitely a good deal. Not mind blowing, but definitely decent value.

From the moment we arrived at Tower 23, everything exceeded expectations. The location is unbeatable, right on the beach with breathtaking ocean views and stunning sunsets every evening. The vibe is modern, relaxed, and effortlessly cool. The rooms are spacious, sleek, and incredibly comfortable. We especially loved the patio and hearing the waves at night, it felt like a true escape. The staff was welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. Every interaction felt personal and genuine. I was amazed by the staffs level of detail, constantly perfecting the look of the hotel and delivering excellent service to its guests. JRDN, the hotel’s restaurant, served some of the best meals we had during our trip. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented with a perfect view of the ocean as a backdrop. Whether you’re visiting for a weekend getaway, a solo reset, or a chill vacation over the 4th, Tower 23 nails the boutique luxury feel without being pretentious. Already planning our next stay! Cant wait to come back!

The hotel is much quieter than you would think given its close proximity to the beach. Beds are comfortable. Rooms are spotless and clean. Air is super cold and that can be a plus on a surprisingly hot San Diego afternoon. The location can’t be beat if you are staying in pacific beach.

Great hotel and easy parking with the valet. Staff was amazing. They even sent us a congratulatory gift because we just got married. That was an amazing surprise. Beautiful views and great room. We will come back.

My sister came to visit and we decided to get a room at Tower 23. Not only is the hotel beautiful and unique but the staff was so caring. Luis the manager was the first to greet us and let us know about the hotel and things going on around the area. He gave off the feeling that we were right where we should be. The entire staff from Marta to Nathaly at the front desk was beyond impressive, you can just tell everyone there loves their job. You know that it comes from the top on down, such a beautiful team! We had Sushi at the restaurant called JORDAN's earlier in the afternoon and loved it so much we went back to grab a late night meal. Get the Cheeseburger! Our plans to go out on the town quickly changed to not wanting to leave, where else was there to go? We had the Ocean view the esthetics of the hotel and great music playing. And all the things sisters need to catch up on. The rooms were a wow factor as well, I had the best night sleep. The place just gives this luxurious vibe, you can sit in the cozy little areas they have through out the hotel, you can sit in the bar or out on the Outdoor deck, or you can just hang out in your room and still see and hear the ocean. Wherever you sit you will be in the place you were meant to be sitting. Thank you Tower 23, we had the best time and will be back!

I stayed at Tower 23 recently and left my room spotless. No leaks, no damage, nothing unusual. The day I checked out and I was on the planes go back home, I was shocked to find out the hotel had charged my card twice for $600 each ($1,200 total), claiming I caused water damage to the room below mine. They only showed photos of the ceiling downstairs and provided no proof at all that the water came from my room. There were no issues reported while I was there, and no one mentioned any damage when I checked out. I’ve called three times trying to speak with the manager (Luis), and every time I’m told “we don’t know when he’ll be back.” No documentation, no timeline, no explanation. Just repeated stalling and silence. If you plan to stay here, watch your credit card statements carefully and take photos of your room before you leave. This has been one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I still haven’t received a proper explanation or refund for the unauthorized duplicate charge.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The concierge made things so easy, and being able to text them whenever was such a nice touch :) The room was beautifully designed, the bed was incredibly comfy, and the peaceful environment made it the perfect couples getaway for my hubby and me. Definitely one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had.

Rooms are beautiful and the courtyard is relaxing. Easy street parking in front of the hotel. “The Nest” room was plenty of space for us (a couple) for one night. Would likely want more space if spending more time in the room, but we were just passing through La Jolla. Omitted one star since it’s not staffed 24/7. Would definitely stay here again!

The Orli exceeded our expectations. The online photos do not do justice to the details, design and charm of this boutique hotel. Small touches made our stay extra lovely like bottled water (not in plastic) and protein bars/collagen packs in the perfectly-sized room - The Study - to the cold brew on draft and tea available all day in the lobby and the delicious pastries in the morning. The location was perfectly situated in La Jolla. We are excited to return.

I have stayed in a lot of nice hotels across the world and this is in my top 5. My girlfriends and I spent 3 days/2 nights here in The Nomad suite and it was perfection. The grounds are gorgeous, the rooms are beautiful, and the hotel thought of everything for our girls trip. The staff would text us everyday making sure our stay was up to par. The face masks in the fridge were such a hit! Also, kudos for having a sound machine in the room as well. I honestly can't wait to come back.

TLDR: you want to stay here. A lovely, refined boutique hotel that is in walking distance to numerous restaurants, cafes, stores, and most importantly the ocean. The rooms are well appointed, though perhaps smaller than one is typically accustomed to. Service from the concierge was prompt and helpful. Small touches, like pastries in the lounge, were great. We had a great time here.

The prettiest boutique hotel that we've stayed in so far! They truly offer curated experience for their guests. Easy check in and out as well - 12pm check out time is truly a plus! The exteriors and interiors of the hotel were aesthetically pleasing, and we were truly surprised on how they went the extra mile to cater to our needs, given that we stayed with our 10-month old baby.

**Review of rooftop. Did not stay at the hotel** This 1912 Victorian hotel is located across the from the Diamond district and Moxy Hotel and next door to ACE parking. If you can’t find free street parking, at least you know you can circle back to pay for a spot. It’s a cute hotel with mint green stripe and checkered pattern. The lift is an old school elevator with a pull gate. Be sure to open it as soon as you land on that floor. Otherwise, it’ll go back down. The roof deck is on the 11th floor and up another level of steep stairs. As soon as you walk outside, you’ll see the giant iconic Hotel St James sign. Beautiful outdoor deck with plenty of seating and umbrella for shade. View of Coronado Bridge, Petco Park and convention center. The food and drinks are linked to Saint James French Diner. There’s only one unisex restroom on the 11th floor, closest to the roof.

I had such a great stay at the Pali Hotel San Diego! From the moment I arrived, Renee made me feel welcome with her warm and attentive service—she really went above and beyond to make my visit easy and enjoyable. The hotel has a nostalgic charm that feels different from the usual downtown spots. I loved the vintage touches, cozy design, and the fun little bowls of candy sprinkled throughout the property. The rooftop bar and overall vibe make it a really unique place to stay. Overall, a memorable experience with great service, character, and small details that make you smile. I’ll definitely be back!

The Palihotel San Diego is a charming and stylish boutique hotel located right in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. Its vintage aesthetic and thoughtfully curated decor give it a distinctly European feel, and the rooftop bar is definitely a highlight — great vibes, great views. The location is excellent for exploring downtown San Diego, with plenty of dining and entertainment within walking distance. However, there are a few things to be aware of. The rooms are quite small, which isn't unusual for a historic property, but may be a drawback for some. The elevator, while part of the hotel’s historic charm, is very slow, inefficient, and honestly feels a bit unsafe — it’s tricky to operate and could easily injure someone if they're not careful. Street noise is noticeable at night (to be expected in the Gaslamp), and the hotel can feel overpriced considering the limited amenities. One of the bigger disappointments during my stay was the lack of daily housekeeping. Despite expectations, my bed wasn't made any of the 5 nights that we’ve stayed and requested -- instead, we were just given fresh towels upon request. For the price point, I would have expected more consistent service. Overall, it's a unique property with a lot of character, but be prepared for a few compromises in comfort and convenience. I also received a note that said 'Happy Anniversary, here's a bottle of champagne'—but there was no champagne anywhere in sight...

This hotel was by far one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at. The room was so small there wasn’t any place to put your bags. One of the elevators was broken, and talking to another guest in the hotel, it had been down for days. I’m honestly not sure how this hotel got a 4 star rating. The staff was nice, but I would never stay here again. I also got a fungal infection on my feet after staying here. The tile in the shower was falling off and was in disrepair. I’ve stayed at 2 star hotels nicer than this hotel. I’m a flight attendant and stay in hotels for a living. Absolutely terrible.

Unfortunately this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. My husband and I booked 4 nights here, upon arrival at 4pm we were told we would need to wait for our room to be ready. This was a bit confusing as check-in was scheduled for 3pm. We waited about 30 mins for our room. As we made our way up to our room, we had to navigate the ancient elevator. The elevation doors are unable to be held open making it very difficult to navigate with baggage. Very long wait times. And exceptionally small. My husband decided to take the stairs (also a maze) up to our room with his luggage and made it about 10 minutes before me in the elevator. When we arrived in the room we instantly noticed how small the room was. We had a queen sized bed suite. There was not enough space for our both of our luggages and we had to shuffle between the bed and the fridge to get to the other side of the room. Unfortunately when we walked in we also noticed just how stuffy the room was, as if the air in the room had not been circulating for some time. When we tried to turn on the A/C we realized it was not working. Upon inspection we realized the unit was not connected (picture below for reference). We called the front desk and had no answer, we also text with no answer. We finally headed down to the front desk to ask for another room or if our A/C could be repaired. We were met with a a shocking revelation. Apparently 90% of the rooms were without A/C and had been since the day prior. I asked why we were not informed and was told “because you could have gotten one of the few rooms that did work, so I didn’t want to tell you unless it wasn’t working.” A bit of a strange response, alas, we were happy to continue our stay if there was a room with A/C, unfortunately, there was not. We were told the electrical would be repaired by Tuesday, which would have been our last day, meaning the entire stay would be without A/C. Unfortunately, my Husband and I had to book a last minute hotel in a different location. I realize the front desk staff was not to blame as the issue was way bigger than them, however, I do wish I would have been informed of the issue before paying my incidentals fees and bringing all of our luggage up to the room. It felt very unprofessional and we left having a very bad experience and a free drink voucher. All in all, the building is stylish without any true modern amenities. The pricing should match the experience and unfortunately I feel as if they are charging a bit too much for what you are getting. However, if you’re willing to have some amenities lacking, this could be a great experience as the location and aesthetics are nice. The staff is also very nice.

Beautiful boutique hotel with extremely kind and pleasant staff. Really thoughtfully designed and quite a vibe from the moment you walk through front door to the toilet seats. Really. Rooms are a little tight on space but the location makes it worth it. Elevator is old and charming but honestly the doors are hard to open by hand.

Walking through the front door feels like stepping back in time to the most charming and sweetest hotel. From check-in to settling into the cozy room, every moment was delightful. The dinner was fantastic, and the rooftop bar offered stunning views that made the evening even more special. The staff was so attentive and eager to help if any issues came up – they truly made us feel cared for. A perfect one-night stay that I would definitely recommend for a memorable and magical getaway!

We’re so glad we chose this place for our special celebration! Fran and Henry were incredibly friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. The hotel is very kid-friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Our family felt truly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The suite was spotless, spacious, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and pleasant stay. We had a wonderful experience here, and we can’t wait to return. See you next time!

We stayed here for an anniversary trip with young kiddos and LOVED IT. Fran and her team were so communicative before our stay, and everyone on staff there was lovely. They left lots of goodies in our room for our anniversary (and came back again to give our kids even more macarons to eat). They had goodie bags for the kids that literally entertained them for hours. We loved eating breakfast in their restaurant every morning. The rooms were spectacular and they also gave us a free upgrade per our Fine Hotels and Resorts stay through our credit card. Top notch in all the ways!

This place is very chill. The staff, music and atmosphere is just relaxing. Everything was clean and prompt. Staff seem to pop out of no where to address guest needs. Do I need a towel? Didn’t think I did, but why not? Location is also close to grocery stores and restaurants. Highway entrance is less than 5 minutes away.

Food was just ok but the service was slow, slow, slow. 90 minutes before our main courses arrived. First round of drinks were slow. We ordered our second round of drinks, which got made and forgotten about at the bar and our waiter didn't check. Had to ask what the delay was and they found them and brought them to the table. Pretty dismal service which is a shame as it's a nice looking dining room. We won't be returning based on this evening's experience.

I was in town for a conference and stayed at this hotel. The meeting facilities were modern and well-maintained, with reliable technical equipment and comfortable seating. The staff were professional and attentive, ensuring that the event ran smoothly. My room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, which was much appreciated after long conference days. The hotel also had a fitness center and a spa, perfect for unwinding. Dining options onsite included a casual café and a fine dining restaurant, both serving high-quality food.

A little slice of heaven. So many amazing little details adding up to a perfect luxury ambiance. I feel so at peace every time I visit. All of the staff is so very kind. Be sure to catch the breakfast! The waitresses are so sweet!

Went to the Pony Room for dinner. Overall, it was a lovely experience but my chicken was a bit undercooked as were my brussel sprouts. Service was outstanding tho'. My partner loved his burger, said it was the best he's ever had. I 'd eat there again.

Went for a spa day with my husband for our anniversary. Treatments were nice, then went to the pool to relax and have lunch and there were no available chairs. I understand it was a Saturday, but there was no where to sit and have lunch afterwards. After waiting we got in the pool and it was the dirtiest pool I’ve ever been in - in my life. Visible pieces floating everywhere. Like fish food. The resort is beautiful and the service is nice, but the pool freaked me out.

Over an hour to get a simple salad and Burger ordered at the Pony Room. The service waiters came to our table maybe 4 times They didn’t have water for about 20 minutes, so just mediocre at best. Really sucks we were excited to go for our very first time and our experience was not good to us. ;(

We’ve been coming to Rancho Valencia for 20 years and have never once been disappointed. We always stay in the same room—it truly feels like our home away from home. The staff is absolutely amazing—attentive, professional, and always going above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The facilities just keep getting better, now with pickleball and padel courts adding even more fun to our visits. And I have to mention the spa area—it’s one of my favorite places anywhere. Peaceful, beautifully designed, and the perfect way to unwind. Rancho Valencia continues to exceed our expectations every single time.

Had a quick two night getaway with my wife. Loved it. Great food, great service, spa was incredible, beautiful location, and getting to use the resort Bentley was a nice perk. No complaints about anything!

Horrible stay. I’ve been here twice now and I definitely won’t come back. For starters I accidentally messed up my reservation and booked the wrong night. When I went to change it I was charged $124 dollar fee, and supposedly the hotel wasn’t the one who charged it. Secondly, I was celebrating my first anniversary with my wife and they couldn’t have cared less. I work in the industry (hospitality) so I know how far great service and genuine interest goes. There was barely a congrats by the front desk agent, however no amenity, and it wasn’t noted on our reservation. As for the room situation it was decent your average hotel room, but the beds were really uncomfortable as well as the pillows. There was no mini-fridge or microwave as well. Lastly, we ordered room service and their prices don’t match the menu, they automatically charge delivery fees and gratuity, which should be stated on the menu. The food was also subpar, burger was overcooked and bacon and topping seemed old and low quality, they gave me like 20 little shoestring fries. If this is one of the best hotels Tijuana has to offer I feel like the industry is just leaps beyond in terms of overall experience for guests used to staying in other countries. And look at the cake we paid $6 for, literally store bought from a store like Sorianna or calimax lol.

Second time at this lovely hotel. Amazing and attentive staff. Great location and great amenities. The only things I wish I could have changed were the shower, it was a bit outdated and the water wasnt too hot, (but thats my personal preference), and maybe having a few more chairs on the roof terrace near the pool for some early morning sun. Everything was fantastic.

I loved it here!! Everyone was very helpful. I stayed on the Grand care floor and the nurses were always willing to help. I ordered room service quite a few times it was great, and with in two blocks there are more than enough places to eat or get ice cream.i stayed a week and even recovering I enjoyed myself. I highly recommend!!

We stayed on the medical floor ( Grand Care) and our stay was great. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. I would like to call out Raul Fragozo in the plaza cafe for his pleasant demeanor and great service for daily meals. Can’t say enough good things about staff and service

The casino on the main floor allows smoking inside. The smell of cigarette smoke immediately hits you when you walk into the hotel. Although no smoking is allowed in the rooms the smoke travels to the upper level rooms. Nothing like eating dinner in the plaza cafe and being choked by cigarette smoke. I made a reservation to stay 14 nights for work but ended up checked out 8 days early due to a bad allergy flare from the cigarette smoke.

Good Stay especially the Nurse Service. HOWEVER I believe I was overcharged since I opened an open Voucher and when I checked out they didn't gave me a statement. Sent them multiple email regarding itemized billing regarding my stay but no response. I would like to stay here again but I am afraid I'll get over charged by no reason.

Stayed here recently for three nights. Check-in was very smooth, and we were able to check in early, which was a huge plus since our flight arrived early in the morning (though we might’ve just gotten lucky since it was a Thursday). The property also has a convention center, so if you’re checking in over a weekend when an event is happening, expect long lines—we saw one on Sunday during checkout and were glad we used the mobile check-out option. The front desk associate who helped me, Mirna, was incredibly kind and welcoming. The location was very convenient—close to everything in the city—and every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The property itself is clean and well maintained. One big highlight for me was that the hotel is dog-friendly, which made my stay so much more convenient, safe, and enjoyable. It’s great to have a comfortable place that accommodates pets without hassle. The rooms appear to have been renovated from an older building, and while they were comfortable, there were a few drawbacks. The doors are very heavy and difficult to close quietly, which made for a lot of noise from other rooms. Sound insulation overall could be better; we could hear quite a bit from the hallway. The bathroom could also use more towel hooks—there wasn’t a good place to hang bath or hand towels, and the only towel rack was inconveniently located above the toilet. Lastly, the safe in our closet area wasn’t working. Overall, a pleasant stay with friendly service, a great location, and pet-friendly convenience—just a few small improvements would make it even better.

Such a fun resort!! My kids loved it. They loved the pool, sand pits and the many firepits to hang out by. Awesome vibes throughout the whole resort. Ashley checked us in and she was amazing. Very nice and courteous. Only issue is the parking. We stayed on the area by the mall and parking was limited. Rooms were ok but it could be better.

We loved the pool area! It’s super kid-friendly with a fun waterslide and a relaxing hot tub perfect for families. The dining options across the property were all delicious and conveniently located. We also appreciated how dog-friendly the resort is, with a small park and such a warm, welcoming atmosphere for pets. Also, staff here were the kindest. We really loved our stay here.

We are locals and stayed here for the first time for a family overnight getaway, and we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Leilani gave us a very smooth check in with an unexpected complementary upgrade. The renovations of the grounds are really nice and you would not expect to see this nice of a property in the middle of Mission Valley. We all enjoyed the pool area and the waterslide. DJ on the patio by the bar was a nice touch. The sports bar was a little busy so we ordered food from the bar. I do wish they had a more kid friendly menu available since we were sitting outside on the patio/ fire pit area. Had a great experience at the market with Rolando. I can’t remember the woman’s name at the bar that helped us order food, but she was also spectacular. The renovated rooms were really nice, but I do wish they had some hooks in the bathrooms aside from the towel racks. We stayed in the Palms Tower. I wish I did bring a sound machine just to drown out the loud sound of patio doors, opening and closing doors slamming lots of echo. Soundproofing in-between rooms was great though. Altogether fabulous experience, we may consider coming back to celebrate our anniversary. I really do appreciate the mid-century decor really brings some fun without being super stuffy like other four-star hotels in San Diego.

We had an amazing stay at Town and Country Resort in San Diego — truly one of the most dog-friendly resorts we’ve ever visited! From the moment we checked in, the front desk staff made us feel like VIPs. They were warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure both humans and pups had the best experience. The resort itself is beautiful and perfectly located right next to Fashion Valley, so you can easily pop over for some shopping or a bite to eat. There’s so much space to walk around, and our pups loved exploring the grounds — they even made a few furry friends along the way! We also appreciated how pet-friendly the vibe was throughout the property — from the outdoor dining spots to the open areas where dogs are more than welcome. The Town and Country hotel was promising with their catering from the conference I attended there and at The Lapper, which is their main restaurant - they had their menu and conference buffet gluten free items labeled. However, I got a salad with ranch at The Lapper for lunch, I told the waiter I was gluten free, the salad had no gluten warning, then for dinner at the conference saw that the ranch contained gluten. The next day, they only had sandwiches for lunch, but one station was build your own so I was able to make my own without bread. However, the cavatappi pasta salad that was labeled gluten free someone informed me later that they asked the staff and it was not. So I was "glutened" twice in 24 hours, at 2/3 meals I have eaten here. The manager was responsive, but only apologized and asked me to come to the front desk to ensure I was safe. There was no refund for any part of the stay, nor an offer to ensure the rest of the meals at the conference were gluten-free. Thankfully I am not celiac, but I worry for those that are. Don't eat here. Even if they say gluten free, it cannot be trusted. In addition, the top bed cover had stains on them, the balcony faced the brick wall of the other side of the building and I was not informed of that ahead of time, the door to the room was not easy to close, and there's barely any light in the room despite like four lamps. There's also a trash smell by the conference area lawn? The room also smelled damp/moldy. The conference hall also has about 10 restroom stalls for the main conference room areas, and one of the main bathroom is up stairs. Positively, the staff are super friendly and responsive and the retro theme is very cute. The lawn area has lots of outside seating, and the pool looks nice (I wasn't able to go to the pool). It also did not feel crowded which was nice. If a few things were tweaked, it has potential to be a very nice stay.

I called before arriving to ensure that I could have a package shipped to the resort. The person on the phone said yes and took an additional step to confirm the address of the resort. They did not mention the $8 fee associated with this. Why would you take your own initiative to confirm the address and not mention the fee? When I expressed my frustration to two separate staff members (Mirna and another person), they didn’t seem to care at all. Didn’t offer compensation. The happy camper rooms are absolutely disgusting. My coworker and I both were assigned this type of room and we both smelled a bad smell. The rooms felt more like a motel room, so beware! The positive part is that they switched rooms for us with no trouble at all. My new room had a tub shower, which I don’t like, but it was overall better. Lights above the coffee maker in my New room flickered constantly so I couldn’t use them. At this point, I didn’t even bother to mention it to the front desk because I was so tired of the trouble. Food at the resort was definitely sub par. I bought a bagel at the market café and it was so stale that I had to throw it out. The Conference food wasn’t very good either. Premade sandwiches with lots of sauces didn’t take peoples food preferences into consideration. Drinks were super expensive. I ordered the exact same drink twice at the monkey bar and was charged different prices.

Came here for a buddy's wedding. The sweets are actually very nice. I have heard from several sources saying that they were outdated, and that they had a funky smell. That funky smell is actually because of the ocean. In fact, I command the facility for keeping the buildings up to date. It is not easy to maintain facilities when it is surrounded with the ocean. The room I had was actually very nice. The order that I had been told about was not that strong. It actually smelled like salt water, which is normal because we are surrounded by large body of salt water. I did not think the furniture was outdated. It was actually very pleasant. My room was up in the tower. The only gripe I have is that a lot of the staff there did not speak English. It was the housekeepers. Now before you get offended, I'd like you to know that I myself a Mexican so I can say whatever the hell I want. I think it is important that people understand the universal language of this country, which is English. I learned English, my family learned English, because everybody here speaks English. I would expect some of the employees to speak English or at least understand it. I dropped the shirt while I was heading to the wedding. I asked a handful of the housekeepers if they had seen my shirt. They looked at me as if though I had just unboarded a spaceship and had just landed on Earth from a different planet. They just gave me this blank stare and then spoke their dialect amongst each other. Unacceptable. Another gripe I have is that the stay was a little too expensive. You got to make it at least $150 cheaper. Other than that though, everything else is cool. I enjoyed my stay overall.

This was my third time coming back to the Catamaran resort hotel, and spa. I absolutely love this place because it borders on Mission Bay and the Ocean is across the street! The hotel staff are just amazing. The rooms are well kept and even though the kitchenette area is older I absolutely love it! I love having the bigger refrigerator and Keurig cup coffee maker, and microwave. Perfect for when we come in a larger group or even when it’s just a couple of us. We really enjoy the restaurant on site with a beautiful views in the fire pits. You can even order an evening with a fire pit on Mission Bay and s’mores! When we stayed, we rode bikes around Mission Bay. These can be rented. There’s also Catamarans, kayaks, etc. What I just learned this time is that they even have boogie boards and chairs to borrow to go over to the beach. Best tropical beach vacation stay and it’s close to so many fun things to do in San Diego!

Very, very nice grounds. Nice view from the tower. Not a real vacation resort, more like a destination for corporate training. But, its more relaxing. Not alot of loud music. The board walk is great place to hang out. Its not lively like a carribean or Mexican resort, but the prices are the same. They have alot of original stuff is still in the rooms from the time it was built. The one restaurant is pretty much to only place to eat. Expensive! Plenty to eat up the street.

We are local San Diegans that chose the Caramaran as a gathering place for my dad's 90th birthday. We had a wonderful time. The grounds are very tropical and well tended. The front desk and staff were both courteous and helpful. And, if you haven't taken a ride on the paddle wheel boat around Mussion Bay, I'd recommend it. Ask at the desk about a ride on the Bahia Belle 👍

Renee in reservations and Joanne at the front desk were awesome and were my first contacts at the resort. The property and tower I stayed in were clean and very comfortable. The views were fantastic and the resort is centrally located near the bay, beach and many restaurants. My stay could not have been better!

My husband and I stayed here for a week with our toddler. We loved it. Very laid back family friendly vibe with many conveniences. The fish, birds, turtles, sandy beach and pool were all hits with my toddler. I enjoyed the convenient coffee shop, bar, restaurant and room service. The food was great all around. The staff was friendly and helpful. The luau was amazing too.

The good... excellent food and service, great amenities and a really beautiful location and view, and the property is very attractive. And the bed was very comfortable. The bad... no grab bar for stepping over the tub side for a shower or bath. Little space beside the sink for toiletries. And worse, a short toilet that filled the bowl high enough that I had to sit on one cheek to keep my dangling bits from dipping in the toilet bowl.

Excellent staff. Rooms are not 5 starts but depends on your perspective. They are super nice with great balconies and AC. Breakfast is yummy. Will absolutely stay again

We stayed at Hotel Lucerna for one night Sat-Sun for $190~ after fees and taxes. To start off, the service and staff was so nice and welcoming. They answered all the questions we had and helped with anything we needed. 5 stars there. The room, we had a deluxe king which was pretty comfy but the rooms did look a bit outdated compared to the images online and social media. Not super different but it just felt a bit older. Our room was facing the parking lot/ street side and depending on traffic you do hear the traffic throughout the night, but nothing that the hotel can control. The pool was in the center of the property and at first I thought it was a fountain but it is actually a pool. We didn't get a chance to get in since we didn't have swim trunks but there are lots of trees surrounding it so lots of leaves at the bottom of the pool . They have a rooftop sushi and bar that you definitely need to check out! Overall, I would come here again if it was much cheaper. There were other hotels that were cheaper but this one was picked based on location and where we were going to be.

Second time here and not a great experience. The rooms are run down, dirty and things are broken. The bar service was terrible, not once did anyone check if we wanted anything more, more sales more tips? Pool service is non existent, menus on tables but not one employee to help you. Had to walk in each time, no refills, no is everything okay, do you need anything?

This is the second time we spent at this hotel. The first time I was in the back portion 1st floor by the ramp-the entire time I had to listen to noise from guests and employees rolling carts and suitcases up and down a ramp. No soundproofing. The sliders were not “secure” and I stuffed towels under the door to make sure nothing crawled under the giant door crack. The second time we were given a tower room, unfortunately it was facing the front of the hotel/strret/traffic. Omg. I’ve never heard so much noice. All day and night car horns blaring, motorcycles, police sirens and police whistles while directing traffic, not to mention the CONSTRUCTION right next door. The noise was NONSTOP. it was nearly impossible to sleep, much less relax. During both stays, I’d request water and nobody ever brought any. I was dumbfounded. I probably spent $30 BUYING water from their gift shop because they just ignored or forgot my request for water. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk they apologized but still never gave/brought us any water. The ice machine was on the fritz-I was able to get some to chill my drinks (that I had to buy in their shop) but it melted quickly. No room refrigerator either. Although the restaurants, lobby, and property are nice-I had HOPED that our second stay would be better. Sorry to say-It wasn’t. I didn’t even tempt fate to consider crossing the round-about traffic circle for water or snacks. I wish I could add the video of the NOISE… it was truly terrible.

Spent the night here for my sisters wedding, it was very secure and felt very safe. Poolside is amazing. Bar and restaurant was very good! Close to everything!

Room was old smells bad and very noise. Shorts has piles all over and very uncomfortable. Shower didn’t drain a very bad experience. Only in Mexico they can get 4 stars for a place like that.

Our stay was great. The pool and hot tubs tubs weren't full (September timeframe).The resort is right on the bay and there are plenty of activities to do. We did kayaking around the bay and it was fun. The resort also has fire pits near the pool which give it a great ambiance for night swims or just chilling after a long day. The food is good and they have a non-dairy dessert option which was great! Overall, I recommend the stay.

Very good experience. Beautiful resort. Recently had an anniversary trip to San Diego. It was very lovely stay. Hotel staff was incredibly friendly and thoughtful. Pool was much larger than anticipated and the hot tubes were comfy. Lounge chairs and service by the pool easy as you could scan a QR code to order. Covewood was delicious stop for breakfast! I recommend chilequiles! There were live music and activities available in the evening such as movies by the pool, live music and smores at the fire place. You could rent bikes and boats located near the bay. Gym was kept clean, tennis courts and pickleball courts were also clean and available. Location was convenient for our day trips, we really didn't have to travel that far. Our longest drive was probably 15 min. I would highly recommend staying at the SD Mission Bay Resort!

We had an amazing stay at San Diego Mission Bay Resort! The location is unbeatable, right on the water with beautiful views and plenty of activities for everyone. The pool area is gorgeous, and we loved relaxing by the fire pits in the evening. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had that perfect coastal vibe. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful, making us feel truly welcome. Can’t wait to come back for another getaway!

Our family absolutely loved this resort! There’s so much to do without ever having to leave, from pickleball, paddleboarding and bike rides along the bay to delicious food and live music at night. The kids had a blast at the pool and movie night, while we enjoyed some much-needed relaxation by the water. The property is beautiful, the staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is so peaceful. It’s become one of our favorite places in San Diego!

Great hotel, close to everything which made it easy to get around and see a lot in a few short days. The walls are thin. And the parking lot was a little rough one night for an event but otherwise we had a nice experience, enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the fitness center.

I really wanted to enjoy my stay here, but unfortunately there were too many issues that made it frustrating. The biggest problem was with our room door with the handle constantly malfunctioning and our key cards rarely worked leaving us locked out multiple times and having to consistently go back to the lobby. On top of that, the TV barely functioned. It was full of glitches and the remote hardly connected, which pretty much made it unusable. Parking was also $45 per night, which feels which feels a bit overpriced given the overall experience. I’m not usually the one to write reviews, but I hope management addresses these problems so future guests can have a smoother experience.

We just returned from a fantastic stay at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort and Spa and couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the service and hospitality were truly top notch. A special thank you to Angel, our pool server, who went above and beyond every day. Even when the pool area got really busy, Angel never missed a beat—always attentive, friendly, and full of smiles. He kept things moving with grace and professionalism, and made our poolside experience feel effortless and enjoyable. We also want to recognize Juan and Omar at Covewood Restaurant for the outstanding service they provided to our group of 14. It had been years since our entire family sat around a dinner table together, and they made the evening incredibly special. From handling our large group with ease to making sure everyone felt taken care of, they made that dinner one we won’t forget. The common areas around the resort were immaculate—very clean, fresh, and clearly well maintained. We were greeted with genuine smiles everywhere we went, and it was clear the entire staff takes pride in their work. It really does seem like everyone loves working there, which makes such a difference for the guest experience. Lastly, a quick thank you to the team at the front desk—we arrived late Thursday evening and the woman who checked us in (I wish I had caught her name!) was polite, efficient, and got all of our rooms settled quickly and with care. This resort truly exceeded our expectations. We’ll absolutely be back!

Decent hotel, but would recommend choosing the best room possible. We chose a corner suite with a balcony, but even that room could have been improved. Loud from the train, paint chipping, no chairs for the balcony, etc. They only offer valet parking, however there is cheaper parking directly across the street. Property was clean but downtown is not.

My stay at this hotel was as good of a stay as I’ve had anywhere. The location was perfect for the baseball games, the hotel was clean and very comfortable, but the staff and the service is what sets it apart. I just wanna take a second and recognize a young lady that works at the front desk named Shawna. She is truly one of the good ones left in this world and completely restored my faith in humanity. She’s an amazing employee, and the Omni is very lucky to have her. Thank you to Shawna and the rest of the front desk staff for taking such good care of me.

I really liked this hotel. The room we had (corner with a balcony and bay view) was very clean, updated, overall very nice. Love a hotel that still has ice machines on the floors. The pool area is very nice and modern, with plenty of seating and lounging available while we were there. The price was right, too. Super close to the ballpark and just overall a nice, easy experience. When I initially posted this review I deducted one star for the “dubiously cheeky decision to blast wretched country music in the lobby and parking area on departure morning for Deftones fans leaving after the festival”. But then I remembered that they were very kind and accommodating in adjusting our reservation when our flight was cancelled the day we were scheduled to fly in, so I don’t feel right about deducting for the awful country. But just know that I considered it.

I just want to say THANK YOU to the front desk and security staff at this hotel. My daughter was having a medical emergency and the staff at this hotel made it a priority to save her. I can’t thank you enough for saving my daughter while I was on the other side of the country. Please know, as a mother, this was such a frightening day for me and you gave me the greatest sense of peace to help us in our time of need. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

The room was phenomenal, other than the bathroom, the view was great, the cleaning staff were very nice and helpful, the gym was set up well, as was the pool. The location is everything. So much nearby to walk to in minutes. Unfortunately, the list of experiences I had on the wrong side of the scale outweigh the above. - Check-in didn’t greet me as I came in from a day of flying and they were cold and seemed put out that check-in wasn’t working, literally blaming me instead of just being patient. - I had a cleaning person say they’d come back around 9:45 then just not come by for 2 days, to wake me up at 8:30. - Maintenance told me the shower vent worked despite mold in the tile and the mirror not clearing, then put a tissue up to the vent to show me it was …it wasn’t. Their “fix” didn’t resolve the venting, nor the shower “jittering” and making a sound like it was going to fall apart when I used hot water. Several showers were just room temp to quickly cold. The showers are also lined with older liners which was unexpected given the rest of the hotel. - Valet gave me a look like I was from another planet when I just asked the nearest person about recycling a bottle - Front desk during the day had one kind man and one woman that were pleasant and helpful to at least give a resource if not a solution. - A different front desk person said they’d send water up and it just never came. I heard similar from other guests. - Had a package arrive and no one let me know that it had. Calling after I was out of state, they didn’t have any notes or contact despite a picture on Amazon. I kept trying and reached someone associated with Omni and UPS that would respond in single word answers and kept asking what I wanted despite having a callback from them about the situation. I can totally understand if the sheer volume of baseball guests tends to dull an otherwise outgoing helpful culture, but this wasn’t even a miss here and there, I literally felt like I’d created an issue by trying to have a reasonably comfortable stay. The Hilton locations and more specialty hotels in the gaslamp will be my choice next time.

Don't use their valet. We stayed at the Omni Hotel in San Diego in September 2025 and used their valet service, operated by ACE Parking. During our stay, I discovered that my car had been driven nearly 40 unauthorized miles while in their care. When I dropped off my car on September 14, I photographed the dashboard showing the mileage with the hotel visible in the background. When I picked it up two days later, the odometer showed almost 40 additional miles, and the interior had been disturbed. Items from the back seat were shoved under the front seat, and the car's alignment was noticeably off, pulling to the right. I reported this to management immediately and followed up several times, but the response was slow, evasive, and dismissive. Both the hotel and ACE Valet continued to give me the runaround instead of acknowledging or properly investigating what happened. They claim to have reviewed camera footage, but when I requested documentation and proof, nothing was provided. This experience completely undermined my trust in this property and its valet partner. If you care about your vehicle, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel's valet service, or the hotel itself, until they take responsibility for how guests' cars are treated.

The hotel is in a perfect spot,close to everything,even have a private catwalk to the stadium on the 4th floor. Beds could be softer but other than that really like the new pool/ Tiki bar area

I am not sure why I’ve never put a review up for Omni LA Costa Resort. The hotel has beautiful grounds and we’ve even been upgraded there I remember correctly. My husband and I have stayed there a few times , and we were treated very well. I think at least twice , we had our dinner comped because our room wasn’t ready upon check-in. However, we weren’t rude , we were kind and I think thats why they staff was willing to do that for us. I hope the staff there know their kindness didn’t go unnoticed.

I stayed at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad with my partner, to celebrate my birthday. Since we’re local, we thought it would be a great midweek getaway and even brought our dog after confirming with the hotel that pets are welcome as long as they are leashed at all times. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by another guest and the way the staff handled the situation. On two separate occasions, I was charged by an off-leash dog (a doodle) while walking my leashed dog. The first time I quickly went back inside, but the second time I was forced to yell at the owner to leash his dog. He initially refused, and when my partner came outside, the man became confrontational, claiming our dog shouldn’t be on property if he couldn’t be approached by other dogs. The resort’s rules clearly state that all dogs must remain on leash. We called security, which took 15 minutes to arrive, while the man sat on the grass, antagonized us, and gave me the finger. When security finally came, the man began making false accusations against me instead of being held accountable for breaking the rules. To make matters worse, the head of security told us he needed to “see our dog” to determine if he was safe to be on the property, even though our dog was leashed the entire time and the other guest’s dog was the problem. We were stunned by the lack of professionalism. The manager on duty, Vanessa, repeatedly passed us off, and the head of security, Michael Sears, could not provide clear answers about how the situation was being addressed. It’s now been over two weeks since our stay, and there has been no real resolution. The only “fix” offered was having the loss prevention manager speak briefly with my partner, which did nothing to address the larger issue. As an LGBTQ couple, it was disheartening to feel like we were dismissed and treated as less important than the other guest, who repeatedly stated he was a “member.” It felt as though his status afforded him leniency, while we, as paying guests, were pushed to the side despite following every rule. For a resort of Omni’s caliber, I expected far better. Clear enforcement of rules, professionalism, and genuine accountability should be the standard. Instead, we were left feeling disrespected, unsafe, and unwelcome. We’ve filed a formal complaint with Omni corporate, but based on the response so far, it’s clear this property has serious issues in how it handles guest safety and bias.

I was at the Omni La Costa for my first time last week for a work conference. They didn’t have a room for me during check in, so the wonderful lady at the desk upgraded me to a suite right on the golf course for my 4-night stay. It was spectacular view, very tranquil ambiance, and a beautiful evening every night. Got a cheeky round of tennis in at the courts last minute, you can rent everything you need. The walk to the Lobby and main area would be the only strenuous part if walking longer distances (2-3 blocks each way) is not your thing. Fear not, the staff have golf carts that will gladly cart you and your party across the resort. All around great stay!

Nice place to relax. Rooms have been updated recently it seems but unfortunately in my room they replaced the tub with only a shower. in the past it had both a large separate tub and shower for a king bed room. Enjoyed the pools and jacuzzi as well as their fitness center. only note is hopefully the pool gets a little more attention, for the 3 days I've been here I've seen the same empty wine glasses and even a broken nail on the floor, understandably it's been low traffic my whole stay often having the area to myself but would be nice to get a clean up once a day

The property is in need of many physical repairs. The rooms are super dated. There was not one hook to hang a towel. Peeling wood on the outside of the buildings, cobwebs in the windows, crumbling stones and bricks. Food is mediocre. The gym has ample equipment but aesthetically many of the machines and stretch equipment are aged and peeling. There is a great kids focused splash area, water slide and toddler pool that’s about a foot deep.

ROBBED DURING OUR STAY HERE!!! Story time: We stayed here for one night as a birthday weekend getaway. We stayed on property for dinner and watched the World Series for a few hours at the bar. When we got back to our room, we found that all the cash had been taken out of my girlfriend’s wallet. Notably, we had a reservation for the bar, so at least some employees knew where we would be for some time. Items that never leave that section of the wallet were taken as well, this was not simply misplaced. We called the front desk and security showed up. We gave a report, and they said they would investigate. We were in a lower level plaza room which has a door that leads directly outside. There were two cameras that I found that point directly at the patio door. Between the two cameras and an audit of the hotel keys, I have no doubt that there is some evidence. In the effort of full disclosure, when we got back, we saw the patio door was closed, but unlocked. Whether that was forgetfulness on our end or a strategy by the intruder is unsure. After a night of poor sleep from anxiety and feeling a bit worked up, I got a call the next morning saying that their investigation was “inconclusive.” After some pushback, they said that when it’s dark, the cameras don’t pick up much, if anything. That seems like a flaw to me. With that, there was no resolution given to me except that they would send to their insurance company and have them reach out to me. I’m very disappointed with the way this was handled by management. In fact, I haven’t heard anything from management, just the security guard. One night of comped parking/resort fee would have just about made up for the cash lost, and I would have felt that they cared, at least a little bit. Instead, I’m posting this review. Oh, and we had to change rooms from our initial room as there were a number of dead bugs on the window sill. I don’t even necessarily mind the bugs, it’s an outdoorsy property, but wouldn’t you have cleaned them before turning the room? I don’t usually write many reviews, but for the greater good I needed to write this one. If you have a reservation booked, be careful while on property. If you haven’t finalized plans, choose one of the other great properties in this area. I’ll try a redo for my birthday somewhere else.

Place was amazing . Would have been a 5star until I ordered room service for breakfast. Besides been pricey. The food arrived hour late & deliveries in bag by the door. Definitely not the best room service for a $200 breakfast. Beside breakfast experience was positive. I would NOT recommend room service.

It was our first time and we played the North course. What an experience! The course was in great shape. The staff were courteous and friendly. The views were spectacular. The only note is for the players. Fix your divots people! We had delicious food and drinks in the Lodge Grille.

This golf course is right by the ocean, and the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The facilities are super convenient, and the practice range is great too. I really love this course. The prices are pleasantly surprising — especially for the practice range. I’m not ready to play on the green yet, but I hope that by coming here often and improving my skills, I’ll soon be able to play on the course.

Most beautiful golf course in Southern California with unique holes, greens, and scenic ocean views. The course is very well maintained and the staff is knowledgeable, welcoming, and efficient. Priced well for Dan Diego residents, hard to get a tee tint if the only downside but that’s due to it being an incredible course and experience!

Great views and nice fairways. Greens were a little rough and watch out for the cross shots in this links style course. Great to check the box but won’t come back.

The perfect La Jolla, CA getaway! Friendly staff, great food and no need to leave the resort. They host great conference experience, which are quite separate from the rest of the resort. Ample parking, clean and 5 Star service while you are in the property.

Great golf course...course conditions - tee to green were in transition as they just over seeded. Greens perfect! Golfing challenge -*****! Views, layout, design and lanscape incomparable!

These courses lives up to all of the hype. The south course is beautiful and is a beast that will test the best players. The north course has equally beautiful views but is a much more fun course for any player.

My sister and I chose this resort to spend time together celebrating our fathers life. He loved San Diego so we figured we would celebrate and say goodbye to him there. When we arrived at the hotel we were told we were being upgraded. First of all there is no elevator in the first building and there was nobody to help us lug our suitcases up to our room. At that time they let us know there is only one restaurant on the resort and no in room dining. We had no car because we felt like it would be fine but the location was not suitable with just one restaurant especially when finding out on Sunday nights they are not even open. Where do you go for dinner?? We did end up renting a car. The pools did have lunch service but it closed at dusk. When we got to our room it was a king bed. I had booked a 2 queen bedroom. When I called downstairs they informed me they were completely booked and could not accommodate a new room with two beds until the next day. We sucked it up and slept together We did not get a new room until late afternoon the next day. The headboard in the new room was leaning so far that I thought it might fall on my at night. It was not bolted into the wall. The bathroom was very disappointing. Small tub(old with staining)/shower combo and one small sink. Not really what I expected for the kind of money we paid. The toilet paper was also one ply , now come on that is crazy. The air conditioner was a wall unit that was super loud and cycled off and on all night. Waking me up often. The view was lovely. The only issue was they did not inform us there would be a wedding on one of days we were there. We had no use of the private beach that day or the firepits in the evening. I would have appreciated a notice of the event, especially because we paid 46.00 a night for a resort fee on top of the parking fee for the car we never intended to rent. The first night we ate dinner at the Vessel Restaurant and it was great. We had a waitress named Marin and she was lovely. The food was amazing!! Now on to the service, the breakfast buffet was ok, same things everyday. Drinks were not part of the breakfast. We had servers that brought coffee and cleared plates. So when the bill came (we had breakfast paid for as part of my credit card package) it covered the cost of the buffet but we were left to pay for the drinks, tip ,and two different surcharges (6% which was fine but the other one as a 20% surcharge for a buffet?? Never seen that in my life.) The service was good the first two days but at the end of our stay they had very few waiters so we waited for water and drinks for around 15 minutes until my sister went to get the bartender for help. Horrible experience. I wonder where all their staff is?? One of our last nights we had dinner again at the Vessel restaurant again poor service. I really do not blame the wait staff it was clearly a staffing issue. I do want to reiterate the food was amazing!! So basically I will not be staying here again and I will be letting my credit card know that this should not be listed as one of their The Edit properties. Definitely not what I expected for my stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Kona Kai! The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed, we stayed in both the bay and marina view rooms, and both had incredible views. The beds were super comfortable, and everything felt clean and fresh. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional. A special thank you to Scott, the General Manager, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us, truly exceptional service. The resort itself is stunning, the private beach, nightly bonfires, and pool make it feel like a peaceful getaway right in San Diego. We also tried the spa, and the massage was fantastic, one of the best we’ve had. Overall, it was a perfect and peaceful weekend. Highly recommend Kona Kai for anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing stay!

The location is great with beautiful views but the overall experience was below our expectations for a four star hotel. 1. The buildings are outdated and the sound proof was minimal. We clearly heard the guests talking and walking in the hallway and in the room next to us. It’s more like staying in a motel. Also, the fridge had continuous humming noise, which was very disruptive for light sleepers. We also found a piece of hair on the shower curtain. 2. We firstly requested a baby crib via email before check-in and were told it would be provided based on availability. We arrived early on Day 1 and requested a crib again in person at the front desk. We were told it would be provided once the room is available in the afternoon. When we got the key and entered room, the crib was not ready. We had to request it again and finally a housekeeper brought it.

Where do I even begin? Stephanie is, without question, the most incredible event coordinator anyone could ask for. Over the 2.5 years we worked together, she became so much more than a planner—she truly felt like a best friend who cared about every detail as much as I did. From day one, she went above and beyond to make sure our planning experience was smooth, joyful, and completely stress-free. Every suggestion, every tiny comment we made—she listened, understood, and somehow always managed to make things even better than I imagined. Her ability to improve and elevate every idea was nothing short of magic. She guided us through every stage of the process with such grace and professionalism, all while keeping everything lighthearted and fun. Additionally, she was extremely flexible, working with us on budget concerns, she was responsive, and always reliable. She worked with all of my vendors seamlessly, and without her I don’t think the day would have been as perfect as it was. And the thoughtfulness! Stephanie and Peter (our hotel block coordinator) have such beautiful hearts—they even surprised us with the most meaningful little gifts along the way during our weekend. Those gestures meant the world to me and reminded me just how lucky we were to have them by our side. If you’re looking for someone who will not only plan your wedding flawlessly but also care about you, your story, and your happiness, look no further than Stephanie. She’s pure magic. 💕 As far as the property goes, they were going through pretty significant changes during our wedding weekend so our guests experienced some plumbing and AC issues that were frustrating for some of the pricing. However, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind and I believe all issues were resolved. We can’t wait to return to the property in the future.

Decent hotel located right on the water. It's a large place though, so your room might be pretty far from reception. Staff were helpful 24/7, but several in my party had trouble with key cards not working. The gas "campfires" along the water and the "beach" were a fun touch, but you can't actually go swimming in the water. They do have a nice outdoor pool. Not a lot nearby though and a the place is a good bit away from downtown and the main tourist spots. The free bike service is nice. Seems to be a popular event venue.

stayed here for a few nights recently, and probably won’t stay here again, it wasn’t the worst but also wasn’t the best. why: the pools were not heated, and the one paloma hot tub we tried was nice but only warm, not very hot and some of the jets didn’t work. also seagulls and ducks kept coming up and landing in the pool, so i opted out of swimming in bird poo. also there was never anybody staffed at the paloma pool bar. the room itself was nothing impressive, very basic and kind of dated for the price. no bedbugs, and pretty quiet, and there was one weird stain on the curtains. water pressure in the shower was lacking. overall meh but very overpriced. the rooms do not have microwaves, so i called and requested one two weeks before our arrival date. when we got there, no microwave in the room so i had to ask again and they brought it up to the room. all the staff are very nice, but their pillows are trash and have next to no stuffing in them, so i requested twice for extra pillows, which never came. didn’t bother again after that. the restaurant onsite was on the pricey side, and the food was outstanding, although it did take an hour and a half to get our food on a night that wasn’t super busy. the breakfast buffet was a different story - first of all you are not only charged for it (even when staying in a room), but you are also charged a 30% fee as well as a 10% buffet fee on top of it. the buffet foods were terrible. the pastries seemed like they were a week old, and the waiter was very rude and rushing us, even though we got down there 20 mins after it opened. made no sense. i’ve stayed in worse (for much cheaper) but i was also disappointed. will not be staying here again. and before the owner or manager replies, the room was not booked under my name and no i will not be emailing you because i noticed that other older reviews have mentioned some of the same issues so yall just need to do better. 🤡

The location is beautiful, and the grounds are overall nice. The rooms are dated and the buildings are not well maintained. Although the hotel was not full I was placed in a room that faced a wall. It was so awful I considered leaving. I decided to ask to move and thankfully I did. My new room was much better. But not one person offered to help me move, despite them not being busy at all. Very poor customer service. Maybe good for a family, but definitely not a luxurious hotel. Also be aware that even during the summer months restaurant and bar facilities are extremely limited. I won’t be back.

Will definitely be visiting again! Had so much fun! The decor was great (especially for cute photos) Pricing was appropriate for the area and quality. Didn't stay at the hotel itself just visited the lounge/club. Food and drinks were good, didn't try out everything I wanted so will be sure to change things up next time and make it a weekend thing and stay at the hotel.

We adore this hotel. This was our second stay here so we were able to compare and it was the exact same quality experience as last; we find the service to be old-school: always friendly, accommodating, and not rushed. We arrived a few hrs. before check in and were happily given our room early. I think the beds are as comfortable as it gets for a hotel (and I travel a ton for business). The bar cart is a lavish but special offering....I think the hotel is best suited for those who want to drink, eat, and stay up late but you could also do the pool during the day, hit an early dinner at either restaurant on property, and request a room further away from the action (we didn't hear anything late from our corner of the property). We love all the options, too, each with great service. Jazz club, Mexican restaurant, diner (delicious and 24/7), lobby bar/restaurant, bar with free games (except bowling, I believe). It's all there for you to explore...this isn't your typical boring hotel. Nothing better than having a nightcap at midnight and being in bed 3 minutes later. Highly recommend for a fun weekend or staycation.

Beautiful hotel with incredible theming throughout! So many options for food and drinks and they are all worth trying. The coffee bar had incredible lattes and cortados. A hot vanilla latte was my go to each morning. The pool area was equally stunning but the water was a bit too chilly for swimming. Definitely check out Quixote even if you don’t choose to have a meal. It is absolutely stunning. Only complaint was the beds in the rooms aren’t great. Will definitely be back again.

Spent 3 days in San Diego. Found this hotel on Mrs Jones. It's really a one-of-a-kind. The hotel has definitely embraced its history. Half expected to see the twins from The Shining at the end of the corridor. The rooms are great, as are the restaurants, pool, gym, bowling alley, (yes, there's an actual bowling alley) and everything else. Will absolutely be back!

Jason provided exceptional service throughout my apartment search process. He was professional, responsive, and went above and beyond to accommodate my needs with a great deal and flexible terms. The building itself is impressive - modern with amazing amenities and beautiful views. In short, the customer service at The Lafayette is outstanding. The leasing process was smooth and transparent. Highly recommend working with Jason and this team if you're looking in the area!

We love this Hotel!! It is our go-to spot for vacations in San Diego. The staff, rooms, pool and vibes are always 10/10. Especially appreciate Sa’Ria in concierge who always goes above and beyond for the customer experience. She’s so knowledgeable professional and awesome.. we always look forwarding to hopefully seeing her when we visit!

It’s a cool hotel if you don’t care about sleep and the hoards of wanna be influencers. Stayed for a weekend as the wedding we were attending was here. The rooms are small. Want to unpack and put your clothes away? Nope. No dresser, but instead a bougie bar cart stocked with citrus, bitters and all the hipster fixings. The partying never stops here, at 2am you will certainly hear the loud club music, even on a Sunday night (or should I say Monday morning?) I will say the only positive is the staff. Every staff member was kind and helpful. We did switch rooms after the first night and they were quick to find us a slightly more quiet room. Staff and service were excellent but unfortunately not enough to outweigh all the other issues.

Alex at the front desk was amazing from the moment I called to confirm my reservation until the moment we met in person! He is such a sweet, kind, and empathetic guy. We will definitely return to Margaritaville because of him. The hotel itself is nice and looks new. Housekeeping was a bit slow, but other than that everything was good!

My husband and I had dinner at Landshark Restaurant last night and had the best experience! Ana F was our server and she was an absolute delight! So sweet and attentive and gave us excellent service. The margaritas were perfection and the food was OMG amazing. I had the fish tacos and my husband had the turkey club and they were delicious. We can’t wait to go back!

They charge you an additional $35 per day over what the room really cost, they say that's for facilities usage...I believe that is a scam and a dishonest way to do business. They need to tell you what the cost is per day not scam you w/an additional $35 per day once you show up.

Gaslamp District in SD. Everyone is so kind, the rooms are pretty and love the beach theme in them . The front desk is amazing , the valet parking guys are very nice too, gym is great! All in all if you wanna spend a great time in this area in San Diego it's worth it! Plus all the Amazing food choices you have nearby

Location is great. Room was okay. I arrived early and requested an early check-in. They said it could be done for a fee and they’d let me know as soon as it was ready. After 2 hours of not hearing from them, I went up and asked. My room was ready but I was never notified. The room was neat but not really clean. Crumbs on the floor, dirty sink, gunk on bathtub, and paint handprint on bathroom door. I don’t expect perfect but, for the price, it should be close.

I checked out at 3 PM and called at 4:30 PM to let the hotel know I left my charger in the room behind the desk. 100% certainty and checked my bags twice to make sure without a shadow of a doubt. I changed so hotels, so wasn’t far. As expected, the room had not been cleaned and housekeeping supposedly went to check. They put me on hold twice and forgot I was on hold (total of 17-20 min) so I returned to the hotel. [My opinion] The receptionist appeared to lie about how they couldn’t find it and said it was already rented. Truly pathetic service and this isn’t the only hotel that struggles with lost and found. For $300 per night, they must do better. Also, food at the restaurant was very average but that’s pretty common for the gaslamp district. Room was nice, clean but housekeeping did skip service while I was there and I did not put out the do not disturb sign. Overall, ok hotel, vibe is decent but service was well below the cost/night and relative quality standards. Do better 👍🏼

If you are on a business trip, don’t book this hotel. Please. I’ve never had such a hard time getting a credit card authorization form so I did not have to use my personal credit card for my business trip and guess what? My personal card was still charged for the stay!!! I called this hotel once a day for 7 days until I finally received my credit card authorization form for my business to fill out and then when I got to the hotel after a terrible travel day, they said they did not have a credit card authorization form. What the heck?! I’ve never seen such disorganization in my life. And when I finally thought it was figured out, they still charged my personal credit card when I left and I had to call yet again. The person I talked to helped finally. I’m not sure if it’s the people at the front desk or the managers but please train your employees correctly! In regards to the rooms, I was given a room on the fourth floor. The room was comfortable and clean, but if you actually want to relax in your room, don’t get a room on the 4th floor looking out literally at the pool. You can hear every word to the music they are playing and honestly I could just start having conversations with the people outside my room if I wanted to. Thankfully, the lady at the front desk was great and moved my room the next day!! She was great, wish I remembered her name. Overall, I will never, ever stay here again especially when I place can’t even get their money organization problems in order.

Wow! Kudos to Quartz hotel for the hospitality and top quality service! The rooms are nice and spacious, and their amenities are great, if you have the time I’d highly recommend taking full advantage of their spa packages/services! The massage therapist are great and sooo welcoming!! My husband and I did a couples complete service and received a complimentary champagne bottle and fruits! (The fruits were chefs kiss!) Now a special and heartfelt thank you to GODOFREDO who’s in Concierge!! He’s so attentive, kind, friendly and most importantly goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to fulfill his customers expectations. I asked for a nice romantic setup in our room and he asked for pics of us. When we entered our room it was something so special and uniquely tailored to US!! Overall our experience there was a 10/10 and would highly recommend!!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel in a busy medical plaza. I was booked here after a surgery and it was beautiful, quiet and felt very safe. I was able to order room service, or go to the restaurant, and staff was fantastic. Everything is clean, and the garden and pool area is gorgeous. I just wish it was a smidgen closer to some shopping in walking distance for souvenirs.

My favorite hotel in Tijuana, we’ve been here a couple of times and we have always had a great experience. The staff here is super friendly & helpful. The hotel and the rooms are very modern, clean & nice. The rooms have an amazing view which is one of my favorite parts about this hotel, the hotel itself also feels extremely safe. I definitely recommend staying here, even their room service is great, the food at the restaurant in the lobby tastes so good and is fresh!!

My wife and I recently stayed at Quartz Hotel, and unfortunately, our experience wasn’t what we expected. We were placed on a "CARE" floor without any prior notice, which we later realized was meant for post-op recovery. Seeing nurses walking around and patients recovering made us feel very uncomfortable—it felt more like a recovery clinic than a hotel floor. To make matters worse, we had issues with the room’s light controls. The button to turn off the lights wasn’t working. We contacted the front desk, and although someone was sent up to help, they couldn’t fix the issue. We were offered to switch rooms at 12:30 AM, but we were too tired and had too many items to repack. We ended up sleeping with the lights on, which was frustrating. We understand this hotel caters to medical tourism, but guests should be clearly informed if they’re being placed on a post-op recovery floor. Combined with the unresolved technical issue, this really affected our stay

Spacious rooms with a gorgeous view. The pool is phenomenal (except for the broken railing on the otherwise wonderful hot tub). It has coloured lights that change, for an extra-delightful experience. The pool itself is salted and so relaxing. The pool Lounge area is huge with lots of furniture and umbrellas, and although we don't drink, there is a bar there with drink delivery to the hot tub during the daytime. Near the pool area is a huge garden filled with cactus, succulents, and other plants native to all over Mexico. There is a " living wall" of succulent plants that extends from the 4th floor roof deck all the way down to the second floor restaurant level, and it looks like a flowing waterfall of plants. Beautifully designed. We have yet to use the spa or the gym, but we have had a look at the gym , and it is very well stocked with the latest equipment and it is open 24 hours. The list of spa treatments is extensive, even includes sound bath therapy with singing bowls. The staff are so nice. They go above and beyond to help. For example, we asked for a coffee pot to make tea, and they gladly replaced the Keurig espresso maker. The shower is beautiful and spacious. and the shower door swings inward and outward. There is a refrigerator and a safe (although it would be nice to have a microwave). The complimentary breakfast is delicious. The chilaquiles are recommended. Also, healthy options such as an egg white omelet, regular scrambled eggs, or homemade oatmeal are very tasty. The complimentary "green drink" is very healthy and refreshing. The coffee is perfect. Green tea is available as well. The servers in the restaurant are superlative, very friendly and happy to chat and answer questions. The room service menu is excellent, and even includes dishes from nearby restaurants. The soups are awesome, and the Caldo Tlalpeño in particular is the best soup I have ever had. We are trying to keep our costs down, so the soup and salad options are welcome. The avena, at 114 pesos, is the most delicious oatmeal we've ever had. One would think we couldn't get excited over oatmeal, but the flavours within are divine. We are here for medical reasons, and we hit a snafu with the bank machine (the taxis here only accept cash), and the hotel made sure we got to our appointment across town on time. The front desk concierges are friendly, efficient, and when we needed to extend our stay they made the process very easy. We speak a little bit of Spanish, but they also speak very good English so communication was easy as well. The hotel is located in the Zona Rio area of Tijuana, which is popular for medical tourists due to close proximity of all the Specialists and medical services, and is considered to be a safe neighborhood.

The rooms are hot and they blame the sun. They promised me to credit me for the stay. They dropped the ball on that. Why would I want to stay there anyway? They do have a lovely pool and jacuzzi. The food is ok, but not for the price they charge. It's an unlivable situation. Rhe worst. But it's arguably better than being out on the street..

Small Rooms...Good Elite Breakfast Reviewed May 17, 2024 We stayed for one night recently at the Andaz San Diego. The room was nice but small. As stated in many reviews the overall room layout and the strange curtain were very awkward. The bed was comfortable. We had planned to use the pool but it seemed to be closed for a private party... The hotel provided ear plugs and a note about noise from the neighborhood...shown in pic. The best part of our stay was the breakfast and service. Jesse at the rooftop restaurant was "Brand Ambassador" in addition to being a top-notch waiter. The valet was extremely slow...unfortunate for the cost. We stayed at four other Hyatt properties on this trip and while the Andaz was not a "bad" property it was our least favorite of the trip. I didn't see the other reviews here on TA before it was too late for me to cancel or I would have changed to one of the other properties. Date of stay: April 2024 Traveled as a couple

I recently stayed at the Andaz San Diego and overall had a great experience. The hotel has a modern, stylish design with a strong boutique vibe. The rooms are clean, well-furnished, and the beds are very comfortable. The rooftop bar and pool are definitely the highlights – great atmosphere, stunning views, and good cocktails. The location is excellent if you want to explore the Gaslamp Quarter – lots of bars, restaurants, and nightlife within walking distance. However, that also means it can get a bit noisy at night, especially on weekends. Service was professional, though not overly personal. Check-in was smooth, I would not recommend the valet parking as there are way cheaper options just around the block. Overall, a solid upscale hotel choice in downtown San Diego – perfect for younger travelers or couples looking for a stylish stay with nightlife options nearby. Not ideal if you’re looking for peace and quiet.

Enjoy a weekend staycation recently at the Andaz. The hotel is located conveniently in the gaslamp district and within walking distance to the Petco park. Checkin/checkout was efficiently done online. Front desk staff was helpful in answering our questions. The wait staff at the rooftop restaurant were friendly and attentive. Nice view from the rooftop restaurant. The pool is on the rooftop as well. Room was clean. The bed was super comfortable. I usually don’t sleep well the first night at a hotel but I got a really good sleep at the Andaz! At the lobby, There was coffee in the morning and water in the afternoon/night.

First time staying at the Andaz in California is a 3 star. I would have to say the andaz in Miami, Fl and New York are both 5 stars. I was disappointed. The room had a smell and we got a room facing a giraffe. It was an interior facing window. Not one of the best hotels at all. The staff was great, very polite. Location was great and it was close to a lot of restaurants, which is a plus. The best was the breakfast at the rooftop and Jesse the server was fantastic. One of the best servers out there. Kuddos to him. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, due to the location.

I'm writing a 5-star review for Madison. I would give 10 stars if possible. I was actually at the Manchester Grand Hyatt lounging at the pool. I asked Madison, who was on a staycation, if she had a cell phone charger I could borrow. At the time, I didn't know she was employed by the Hyatt. Madison called the front desk and asked for a charger. She also gave me a bottle water from her bag. We talked and I discovered that Madison worked at Andaz. I was so thankful for the kind and friendly assistance Madison offered, on her day off, at a different property. She should be recognized for being beyond exceptional and a great asset to the Hyatt.

Not great, unfortunately. The pool was closed, we weren't allowed to eat some dinner on the roof top (you'd rather us eat in the room was 2 small children?), and the cost for parking was outrageous. The location is fine - close to the zoo. But lots of people experiencing homelessness yelling at each other down the street. Didn't feel like the safest area. Guess we should have done our research a bit more on this one. Unfortunately can't recommend. We won't be back.

The room had strong urine smell. The front desk claimed fully booked and refused to change room. However, apparently it’s not fully booked) Originally I gave 1 star. I add another star for the quick service to clean the bathroom and spray some refreshing. (The urine smell is from the carpet and they just can’t do anything)

OK, here is the thing… We are still here and this hotel is amazing Including I absolutely love it so this is why I’m having a hard time. The ambience, the pool and all of the things that surround this hotel are amazing. The check-in process was also amazing. However, we come down to the pool and it takes a while for us to get service, but that’s fine… Then we order drinks and food. We get our drinks in a reasonable amount of time but our food pretty much never comes out and then our server gives us half of our order after we remind her that we haven’t gotten it in over an hour and 20 minutes. OK she comped our one pizza and fries however, we ordered two pizzas and fries, but I’m pretty much willing to let that go then after a very long break for the waterslide, the ““ lifeguard is back and looking at his phone the entire time as he’s waving kids down not even checking to see if it’s clear. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Like I can’t even believe it. I’m so used to things being different and I’m really disappointed.

The proximity of Legoland is awesome and the use of the Hilton pool is great, but no one told us there would be major construction when we were here. It's not loud. It's just no facilities are open and it's inconvenient to get to your room. I guess in 2026 summer when they finish all this construction it might be nice but right now it's kind of a dump. Feel totally gypped that we paid full price to stay in a place under construction

We had a wonderful stay at the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa for our kid’s birthday vacation part 2! While the property is currently under construction (which wasn’t clear during booking), the team went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, especially Grace B. She was truly exceptional! Grace personally reached out before our stay, made sure all our needs were met, and took care of every detail with such warmth and care. Because of her, our trip felt special, smooth, and stress-free. Thank you, Grace, for making our family celebration unforgettable!

Another fantastic stay for my kids and me! This visit was made truly special by Guillermo at the front desk. We were celebrating my summer babies' birthdays, and he went absolutely above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The kids had a blast at the pool and loved the tie-dye activity the hotel offered. We can't wait to come back!

We stayed two nights to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary, but it turned into a nightmare. The room was old and the soundproofing was terrible. Our neighbor turned on the TV in the middle of the night and it was so loud we couldn’t sleep. I sent three messages and called the front desk twice. The staff said they would send security to assist, but no one ever came the entire night. The on-site restaurant, 20Twenty, was just as disappointing. There were only two servers covering the entire dining room, and we waited nearly an hour for our food after ordering. This hotel does not live up to a four-star rating—with such terrible rooms and service, I would say it doesn’t even reach two stars. What was supposed to be a special celebration became a stressful experience. I would not stay here again and do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was, hands down, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had and families should steer clear. The rooms were dirty (bugs and even human waste on the wall), the walls and floors are paper thin, and the noise from other guests was unbearable late into the night. The “heated pool” was freezing, the shuttle was unreliable, and the smoke alarms went off at night due to an “old system,” terrifying children. Staff showed little concern for guest comfort or safety, amenities were unavailable despite being advertised, and guests at the connected property are clearly prioritized while Sheraton guests are left with subpar conditions. On top of that, hidden charges for parking and resort fees were added even when not used. If you’re traveling with kids or anyone who needs a restful stay, this is not the place. Until this property is remodeled and properly managed, it is unsafe, unsanitary, and not family-friendly.

I chose this hotel because it had a kid-friendly pool with a slide. But the entire hotel is shut down under construction except the rooms (no warning when I reserved the room on their website). No check in, no room service, no restaurant, no pool at the Sheraton. But they still charged full price for the room. They gave us access to the Westin pool and the Hilton pool across the street (but had to wait in line at their front desks to get a pool key, and it was a long walk with wet tired kids). Had I know there was no pool or any services at the Sheraton I would have stayed at the Hilton across the street that has a kid-friendly water slide in their pool. The Sheraton rooms, hallways, and elevator were outdated. Also they make you park at the Hilton self-park lot, you can't even park at your hotel if you're at the Sheraton. All 3 hotels (Sheraton, Hilton, Westin) share the back entrance to Legoland. That part was great--no line, and you enter the park near the wooden play structure handicap ramp.

We chose L’Auberge for our anniversary trip. The property itself feels a bit tired (rooms and common spaces could use some refreshing), though the location is undeniably lovely. For our anniversary dinner, we decided to try Adelaide, the on-site restaurant. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. Service from our server was lacking, and the steak we ordered was poorly executed—it tasted like it had been torched to achieve the char we requested, leaving an unpleasant flavor. At the price point, it fell well short of expectations. The side dish that came with it also arrived cold. Overall, the food was just okay and not worth the premium pricing. On the positive side, some of the staff were excellent—Leo and Elyse at the front desk really stood out with their warmth and professionalism. Others, however, could benefit from additional training to elevate the guest experience to match the resort’s reputation. We also encountered some confusion around room rates and resort fees, but Elyse was proactive and helpful in resolving it, which we truly appreciated. In short, beautiful setting and a few standout staff members, but the overall value and dining experience left us underwhelmed.

From arrival to the final bite, L’Auberge Del Mar delivers perfection every time.

The rooms were great other than they could have used a little more sound insulation. The temperature controls were great, the shower and sink worked well and the bathroom was well laid out. The bed was comfortable. The patio was reasonably private. The service was awesome, from housekeeping to the front desk to the staff at the bar. An update: my lady lost her diamond necklace in the room but didn't notice until after we left. I called the front desk but action was not prompt and by the time someone went to look, there was another guest in the room. The most likely situation was that housekeeping found it, but as far as I can tell, no one asked the specific housekeeper that cleaned the room about the necklace. Net, I feel that we got lip service about a lost family heirloom.

Both the room & restaurant were super underwhelming for the price. However the staff was good and the location is incredible. But the rooms are akin to what you would find in a best western (small, somewhat outdated) and the food at the restaurant just wasn't worth the price, in fact it was bad. They also require valet in order to park which is an extra $25. If you don't care about those things, and only about location, this is a great spot.

This hotel is beautiful with warm and friendly service from staff, but unfortunately there were a few things that kept our stay from being the restful babymoon that we'd hoped for: 1. The bed was ROCK HARD. My husband prefers a firmer mattress, but even he found the mattress to be very uncomfortable with not enough cushioning. I had terrible sleep while experiencing excruciating hip and back pain each night. Not fun as a pregnant person. I did call the front desk and mention the hard bed, but they were only able to offer a super thin mattress protector that didn't help. 2. The walls are paper thin with poor sound proofing. It didn't help that our room was located directly across from a bridal changing room. We were woken up very early one morning by a group of girls talking, laughing, and playing music. I could so clearly decipher what they were saying that they may as well have been hanging out in our room. We could also hear the wedding party/guests laughing, talking, and running through the hallway at 2 am. 3. There was a false fire alarm that went off on our last night there at around 2:30 am, and we had to evacuate our room. The front staff did waive our resort fee for that day for the inconvenience, which I am appreciative of. This is also something that I understand the hotel couldn't have helped. With everything added up, I unfortunately ended up with dark circles and bags under my eyes at the end of our babymoon.

For our 25th wedding anniversary, I booked a room with a view at this hotel, expecting a special experience to celebrate such a milestone. At over $1,500 for two nights, my expectations were high, but the reality was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, the front desk staff, Ashlee, assigned us to what felt like the worst room in the hotel. It had a musty, moldy smell and offered a dismal view of another building’s rooftop—far from the scenic view I had paid for. When I raised the issue, Ashlee’s attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. After some back-and-forth, she reluctantly moved us to a better room, but her proud demeanor and condescending eye contact made the interaction uncomfortable. It felt like discrimination, and I couldn’t help but notice the lack of diversity, with barely any Asian guests visible in the hotel. The breakfast was another letdown. The options were limited, and the food was mediocre at best, not matching the caliber one would expect from a hotel charging such rates. Additionally, while the hotel claims to be “close to the beach,” it’s a good 5-minute walk, and there’s no ocean view from the property itself, which was misleading. The noise loud music turned off until 10:45pm and people were taking a loud in the lobby at 6:15am. Overall, this stay fell far short of the luxurious, celebratory experience we hoped for. The poor service, subpar amenities, and misleading claims made our anniversary feel anything but special. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a memorable getaway.

What a beautiful day we had rocking wellness on the Southern Pacific Coast in Del Mar at this resort. We were truly pampered women warriors and started the event with relaxed yoga, ocean breezes, sunshine and support! Everyone greeted us with a smile! Vendors were there with resources and giveaways- we made flower arrangements, crowns, got massages, did crafts and summed it all up with a catered luncheon! The food was delicious and healthy. VIP valet parking, the premises are so well kept, the lounge is comfortable and well laid out for either privacy or a meet & greet. Every room has an ocean view. I will certainly come back next year and make a point to visit in between privately - because this place is divine, indeed! Thanks for hosting all of us women warriors and for supporting all veterans/military and first response! 💝✨🤘

Rooms were clean and just what I expected. Suites had a fridge, microwave, and sink so you could cook some small meals if you didn't want to go out. A good place to stay if you're not looking for something fancy.

Absolutely Disgusting. Never Coming Back. This place is filthy. The floors were so dirty they left the bottom of my feet black—like I walked through a garage, not a business. There was hair all over the floor, actual buggers smeared on the wall, and the restrooms? Straight-up nasty, take a shower after taking a shower!! The windows were foggy and covered in grime—like no one has cleaned them in weeks. On top of the disgusting environment, the service was unprofessional, dismissive, and clearly didn’t care about it. This place should be shut down for health violations. I regret ever walking in. Is this how they clean, don’t even think about eating in the hotel. Pictures by request. Do not stay here! 07/27- After Hotel Response I read your reply and frankly, it’s dismissive. I stayed in two different rooms over two different nights, back to back, and both were equally filthy—no reporting needed when the problem is consistent and visible. My feet turned black from walking on your floors, boogers on the wall and hair on the floor and bathroom…. That’s not a fluke, it’s neglect. Your lobby staff never greeted me, never smiled, never acknowledged guests walking by. That’s not hospitality—it’s bare minimum disengagement. Saying you’re committed to cleanliness and service means nothing if you don’t deliver. Instead of pushing the blame on guests for not reporting things, do your job. Walk your halls. Inspect your rooms. Train your staff. Until then, your “standards” are just words—not reality. I have more pictures to share. You let me know

While in Tijuana, this is where I stayed for a short while due to a medical appointment. This was my second visit to City Express. They always keep the rooms clean! The staff is helpfu & professional. The breakfast is a delightful option.

Although the rooms and facility are new, the customer service here is HORRIFIC. I asked to speak to a manager when the girl at the check in counter lied to me about my room being ready in 10 minutes and after 40 minutes said she didn’t know when it was going to be ready. When I continued to ask them for a time they continued to laugh between them and say they were waiting for the cleaning tenant to respond but yet between their conversations continued to say they didn’t want to call her. This is extremely unprofessional specially from a “manager” and because I had my 2 kids waiting for the room. I decided to walk out and take my kids to eat instead of waiting for them to feel like giving me a room. I left and to my surprise the security guy “disappeared “ by the time I reached the parking lot and was stuck in the gate unable to leave until he finally felt like coming. It doesn’t end there I’m currently on my 3rd call asking for blankets, pillows and a crib, it’s been. 5 hrs since I checked in at this point I strongly believe they are doing it on purpose. Stay away and stay at a different location the lack of customer service is a joke

It’s a Marriott, first room we got smelled like the bedding wasn’t washed in months and the second wasn’t much better after we asked for a different room. We accepted the second but seriously. I expected better by choosing to stay at a Marriott. The room itself was fine. I was just very off put by the poor condition of what seemed like either unwashed sheets or the remanence of the odor after a construction worker stayed here for several weeks or months without having the bedding washed and we got it after it was washed once which obviously wasn’t enough for the strong odor. Just to clarify the second room still smelled like dirty sheets. The reason we didn’t ask to move again is because we didn’t expect moving again to make a difference and it was only for one night. We accepted the poor condition because we were tired and didn’t want to keep moving around. The only thing that made the stay a little better was the continental breakfast. In my opinion it was better than average.

Rooms were rundown, but ok. Only issue is there were 100's of fruit flies coming out of the shower drain. I put the bath mat over it to smother them. It was gross in the morning. Front desk staff (3 ladies) were all unnecessarily rude to me. I definitely felt discrimated against (like they hated white girls with blond hair & blue eyes). Do they not know they work for a hotel with all types of people visiting? I will not stay at this hotel again.

Very nice rooms and staff. Very clean. Great Mexican breakfast.

Most staff was amazing. Valet was frustrating at times because they share valet with another hotel. The bell man was beyond amazing and went above and beyond. We were so grateful for him when we checked in and checked out. Room was so noisy as it faced the street + a wedding reception was happening one night and we could hear their music until midnight. Bar had good service for food. Check in staff was ontop of 99% of things. Over all id stay here again, maybe just ask for an interior room (if thats an option) for noise. Housekeeping was severely lacking. Dirty glasses were left and not replaced. Toys from prior guests were under the bed. Top linens were NOT changed as dirt was still on it thru entire stay. So I would just be aware of that

The hotel is really beautiful and the staff are very kind and helpful. The front desk associates, the valet, the bartenders-- all very nice. Room was very large and well-decorated. My only complaint was that the room was dusty. There was a thick layer of dust on the lamps next to the bed. If you are sensitive to dust like I am, be aware of that. There is also a strong perfume-like smell when you first enter the room so be aware of that as well if you are sensitive to fragrance. But everything else was beautiful. The courtyard was a lovely place to have breakfast.

Location is very close to Santa Fe Train station, Little Italy and Belmont Shores. The hotel is really nice and comfy. The staff were super helpful. My room was perfect for me. I stayed in the petite room for a couple nights and it was perfect. Didn't need extra space since I was out most of the day. I would 100 percent stay there again.

This is my favorite hotel to stay at in San Diego. It’s clean and beautiful and all the staff is wonderful! As a Marriott employee, I’m super picky about hotels. This is one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. It’s a beautiful building with a great history. The first time we were there a couple years ago, we were given a tour, and it was so interesting! It was my husband’s birthday this weekend, and I treated him to a visit with Rico at the barber shop. He loved it! It is a great addition to the hotel.

My wife and stayed here for a night before our cruise out of San Diego. Very close to the port, it was a great hotel. Steep steps to get up to the main lobby were the only real obstacle. But our room was great for two people. Huge shower. Nice noise in the room. Would highly recommend. The only picture I took was the ceiling of the room. The hotel used to be a YMCA, they have some history down in the lobby.

Amazing hotel! Beautifully appointed. Staff goes above and beyond. Everyone was so nice and so helpful. Rooms were great super clean and fresh looking. Amenities are top-notch. I would definitely recommend.

Was not sure how to leave this review as it is for the restaurant. I was here before and loved the hotel and food. So when I returned this was the first place I went to eat. I was so disappointed. I had a 30 dollar salad and the lettuce was brown. So brown i probably should have sent it back but I did not want to be that guy. Can not express how stupid I feel to have paid 30 dollars for a brown salad. Very disappointed.

Imagine waking up to the sounds of the ocean roaring and falling asleep to the fresh ocean breeze after a walk along shore. Heaven. The Grande Colonial rooms are beautiful and relaxing, the location is perfectly located to walk to shops and restaurants and to the beach, the staff is passionate and friendly and the vibe is perfect for couples or a girls weekend. This is a 5-star experience. They treat you like a famous family member, calling you by name and asking how your day went when you return. I can't imagine staying any place else when I visit La Jolla. (I could live here if I could afford it.) I have been staying here for more than a decade -- and it has never disappointed me. I have stayed in nearly every wing, and have my favorite rooms! My favorite memories have been made with family and friends here!

This hotel is a little gem in the heart of La Jolla close to the beach and shopping! Its an historic hotel and quite nice with beautiful rooms a great restaurant and best of all the employees are just wonderful! Its like a little family that really cares about your stay and how they can help you. I will definitely stay here again..

We were on the top floor. View was really good. Would have preferred the other side of the hotel so we could have seen the sunset and not been above the dumpsters and the morning noise. Nice old Victorian vibe. Bed was bad or worse. Bathroom was small. Great location. It was fine, the people were amazing, expected more of the room for the price.

I have never have been tested as nice at any hotel as I did here. I stayed in hotels in the states and overseas. If I come back to San Diego, I will be staying at the Grande Colonial. Hopefully management realizes the quality of their staff, appreciates their efforts and retains them. Rooms are clean and spacious. Many of amenities offered as well.

This was our 4th visit and it will be our last. The room was like an after thought stuck away down a back stairway. When we found it and had unpacked, my husband went into the restroom and found that the last guest must have had an issue and housekeeping did not clean the toilet. We should have checked out. It was horrible. They sent someone to clean it right away. I made sure management knew and they apologized and offered us $50 to treat us to dinner at their wonderful restaurant. That was a joke. Our dinner was $250. Then when we got our folio, the $50 credit was not on the bill. It took a long phone conversation to resolve it. No amount of money can take that vision out of my head. I guess if I had taken a picture, they might have been more attentive.

The service was excellent! Location in beautiful we loved walking down by the water and seeing the sea lions. LaJolla was perfect. We walked around and felt very safe. Area is clean and beautiful. Hotel was also wonderful.

The room is spacious & clean. It is in a prime location. 2 min walk to children pool. Walking distance to all restaurants. The only complaint is the room on top of my room making some noise in the morning walking me up.

Had a great stay! The pool, hot tub, and sauna were relaxing and lounging by the pool was nice. Food at the pool was good as was the breakfast at Vaga. My room was quiet, comfortable and nicely decorated. I really enjoyed the eucalyptus in the shower and the great smelling shower products and body lotion. Bed was very comfortable, and the view of the ocean from the room was stunning. Steps from the beach! Staff were all friendly and welcoming, and valet staff were prompt and efficient. A peaceful and luxurious experience all around.

Service is generally better than Hyatt but not quite Four seasons. You can call me if you need more info. One standout department is the valet team. …and we didn’t even bring a car! They were all so engaging, helpful and accommodating. Top tier hospitality in a coastal vibe way. I don’t know all their names but Tommy, Gus, Angel and Matt were all amazing! …and whoever the kid is who got promoted off of the graveyard shift, he’s great too!

This resort is beautiful. The coastal views, steps from the beach, a most relaxing pool and spa & excellent service. We ate and drank at Vaga and The Pocket, both restaurants/bars at the resort. Our bartender Jared Enloe at The Pocket took care of us all weekend! Superb service, fun conversations, excellent drinks and I especially loved his food suggestions for our stay. Thank Jared and everyone at Hyatt for making our weekend getaway so special.

Our stay at Alila Marea was nothing short of spectacular! It started at check-in where John( who later reminded me capture my honors points, thank goodness!!) welcomed us and made us feel at home. He was kind, considerate, and professional as he listed the generous amount of amenities. The staff, the food & beverage, and most all the spectacular sunsets were a thing of beauty and marvel. We hope to be back soon but our 5 night stay was perfect. Two favorite things on site were the complimentary (strong cocktail👍) at sunset and the silent disco!! This place was amazing!!

The only thing better than the spectacular location (and I can’t underscore this enough) which was amazing - was the staff. Eva and John were so attentive to my needs and went the extra mile to make sure my stay was more than enjoyable. They set the bar high with their attention to detail (and I’ve stayed at more hotels than I’d like to count). All the housekeeping staff were a pleasure too, they made you feel at home. I highly recommend making this the go to getaway in Southern California. You will not be disappointed.

This is the best place to stay in Encinitas. The location on the water is special. All the rooms are great. The amenities are first class. Special shout out to the valet team and Milad. I travel here for business often and Milad always makes me feel at home when I pull in.

This place is pretty amazing. They have everything you could want for a proper California beach vacation. Beach access with beach chairs, umbrellas, surf boards, etc. The best part is the pool and hot tub area. Beautiful views from the pool. All staff at the hotel are friendly and accommodating, but a special shout out to Dominic and Stephon at “The Pocket”for taking care of us while we were poolside. Their service was exceptional. What a great time. Definitely recommend 10 out of 10. at the pocket

Cute hotel but do not have your wedding here! My best friend had her wedding celebration here in January and the staff was mostly rude only some were polite. Many of the family and friends were overcharged for the rooms, seems like the hotel had to double dip to make ends meet that weekend. Tacky habits, tacky staff apparently. Bummer it's such a cute hotel - it might be nice to have a weekend here but do not plan a wedding or an event here. The planning group does not know what they are doing. Disgusting and embarrassing.

We havent stay overnight but we want to! Incredible vibe. Great staff. Fabulous food. The pool with the giant screen always brings a huge smile to my face when we walk in :)

I chose to stay here specifically because they advertised free breakfast, which was a big deal for me since I was traveling with my three kids. Turns out that was a complete lie. At check-in, I was told there was no free breakfast—just an overpriced menu. I ended up ordering anyway, and my daughter took one bite of the breakfast sandwich and said it was clearly just a frozen Jimmy Dean. $8 for that? Seriously? Later, I asked about the free bikes they advertised. Surprise, none of the four bikes actually worked. Not one. And it didn’t stop there—the air conditioning barely functioned, and the bathroom fan took a full 10 minutes to even start up. This stay was one letdown after another. I won’t be coming back, and honestly, I’m incredibly disappointed.

I stayed one week solo. All the staff--from front desk to housekeeping to bartenders--were lovely to me. Wish I would have asked what kind of mattress it was because it was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've had and I slept like the dead. I also really liked the option to text the front desk for any needs like housekeeping, room service, ice, etc. They were very prompt. Excellent little restaurant/bar, Ponyboy. The vibes were vibing. Be aware that you'll need a car/Uber to get to a lot of typical tourist attractions or beaches, although the attractions at Shelter Island are walkable. Breakfast isn't free (I was also under this assumption when I booked), but the egg croissant wasn't too pricey at $8 and Starbucks/Better Buzz Coffee were very close.

We booked The Pearl Hotel through the Hyatt program and, as Hyatt Globalists, expected the usual benefits—but unfortunately, none were honored. At check-in, the staff was not helpful and seemed uninterested in assisting with an early check-in request. Parking was charged separately, and one few spots on site were full, forcing us to park several blocks away. Our room had an AC unit that emitted a loud buzzing every few minutes, disrupting sleep. Breakfast was very expensive, unimpressive and charged to us, despite it typically being included with our Globalist status. On the positive side, the lobby and restaurant are stylish, clean, and well maintained. However, the property is not kid-friendly, and overall the experience did not match the value or service we’ve come to expect from Hyatt-partner hotels.

Amazing care and customer service! I needed to make a very last minute change to my reservation. They were so understanding and accommodating. I will definitely stay with them for all future trips to San Diego! Thank you!

I booked a room at The Pearl Hotel through the Hopper app for the dates of May 17–20, 2025. Upon arriving around 7:00 PM on May 17 to check in, I was informed by the front desk that my reservation was no longer valid due to a “maintenance issue.” Unfortunately, they were unable to offer an alternative accommodation, as the hotel was fully booked for the night. I received no prior notice—neither by email nor phone—regarding this cancellation. This left me unexpectedly stranded and without support. The least the hotel could have done, as a courtesy, was to notify me in advance by phone or email so I didn’t have to travel there only to find out that my room was unavailable. The front desk staff provided no assistance, and I spent nearly two hours on the phone with Hopper trying to resolve the situation, ultimately leaving without a solution. I have my own speculation as to why this happened, but will not share it here.

Very very clean!!! Very cheap too!! No bathroom in the shared rooms but many outside the rooms divided in men, women and any gender , with 3 showers and 2 bathrooms each ! Quite hostel! It also has a pool table! Not classic hostel where you meet and talk with everybody , people there kinda all do they own things! But recommended if you’re just looking for a place to stay !

Totally LOVED my experience. It was great. Fast. Easy. Showers were clean beds were as well. Everyone was respectful and quiet. My ONE complaint is that it is generally too warm. It was slightly uncomfortable and the little fan in the bed was pretty disappointing. But I showered to help with the heat and it was better from there.

This was truly a great place. The host was amazing. He even carried my bag up the stairs when I was tired when I arrived. The bed and private space was ideal for TNR price, it's sooooo much better than uncomfortable bunk beds. It was like having my own private room. I had a bed stand to put my stuff; plenty of plug outlets, and a personal curtain for privacy. The others guests in their pods were nice and considerate. It was super clean and safe. I will definitely stay here again.

Great location downtown. The price is one of the cheaper ones in the area. It is not too close to the main areas so it's quieter as well. I didn't feel unsafe. I met three staffs during my 1 night stay there. One of them was pretty rude which made the experience poor for me. Also, I particularly don't like taking taxis and driving, and the staffs there are quite clueless about public transportations too. The bed is fine. The thin walls make it easy to wake others up. The quiet hours are a bit too long for me too. I understand if they want to accommodate to all guests from early birds to night owls, but it makes packing up of luggage quite difficult (end of quiet time is 8am, check out is 12pm, but those having earlier flights might need to be careful of making noise). For those interested, the bus to the airport is 20 minutes walk away. Nearby bus stop at 11th St and the blue trolley is nearby too. These are pretty restricting for tourist attractions, but pronto card/app lets you transfer to another bus/trolley within 2 hours.

Amazing hostel in downtown ! It’s clean, everything is super close and reasonable price. Branden was super friendly and kind, he let us know so many cool spots and treated us so well. I highly recommend this place !!

I really highly recommend this place if you simply need a place to shower and sleep. Private little pod, not a room. Curtains are thick and stay closed. Enough space inside even the twin. Showers are completely private. It's quiet and very clean. Place seems very secure. Only couple blocks to the trolley.

Very clean all over. The staff are friendly. You get personal pods, not bunks. There are spaces for online work and study. Large lounge area. Many charging stations. TV room downstairs. Location is excellent, near trolley and across from Albertsons supermarket.
