The City of Caves in Nottingham is a fascinating underground attraction that offers a glimpse into the city's rich history. The network of over 500 sandstone caves has been developed since Anglo-Saxon times and now serves as a popular family destination. Visitors can explore various historical sites within the caves, including a medieval tannery, Victorian slum remnants, and an air raid shelter from World War 2.
What an awesome tour guide Stephen was. Brought the unusual caves of Nottingham to life with some great stories told with wit and passion. The best thing we experienced in Nottingham and value for money, purely for Stephen let alone the interesting cave/tunnels. Total time 1-1.5 hours

These Guided tours are very informative and interesting, great on a hot day as it's lovely and cool down there. We visited with the intention of us all going in, however it's not ideal for toddlers. Our 1 and a 1/2 year old son would have found it very frustrating had he gone down. Our kids between 9-13years loved it as a lot of the tour was about children! Would recommend a visit with kids or as a couple of you are Into hidden history of cities!
Ed C — Google review
Had a nice experience while visiting the place. Better to buy tickets in advance. The entrace is under the flyover next to the Contemporary Art Gallery. The staff is nice you can ask many questions about the cave system. Our guide was very nice giving good information about the life people had in the past and how the cave systems were used in the past. The way he explained some interesting facts were funny, engaging and informative in the same time. Inside the temperature is comfortable. If you're visiting Nottingham give it a try you'll like it.
Daniel A — Google review
Dave our guide put on an entertaining tour with fun and drama to keep the younger members of the group entertained. It’s great when someone puts so must effort into making this tour so memorable in the forty five minutes time frame. Thanks for giving me an insight into life in the caves as I’d no idea so much took place there.
Stephen W — Google review
A must-see in Nottingham! The caves are fascinating, and our guide Andy was fantastic — funny, knowledgeable, and full of great stories that brought the underground history to life. Top tip: wear comfy shoes, as the ground can be uneven. Such a unique experience right under the city centre!
Leftheris R — Google review
Hidden beneath the bustling streets of Nottingham lies an extraordinary network of history, atmosphere, and intrigue — the City of Caves. This subterranean wonder is more than a collection of ancient sandstone chambers; it is a living chronicle of the city’s past, beautifully preserved and thoughtfully presented. My visit was made all the more memorable thanks to our fantastic tour guide, Sam, whose warmth, wit, and depth of knowledge brought the caverns vividly to life. From the moment the tour began, she effortlessly balanced historical insight with engaging humour — even jesting that if we didn’t enjoy the experience, we should attribute it to “Philip” instead. Naturally, there was no need for poor Philip to take the fall; Sam’s delivery was impeccable. Her ability to weave fascinating anecdotes of medieval tanners, wartime air raid shelters, and long-forgotten dwellers transformed what could have been a simple historical walkthrough into a truly immersive journey. One could almost feel the weight of centuries pressing gently through the stone walls, softened by Sam’s charm and enthusiasm. The atmosphere below ground is simultaneously eerie and comforting — dimly lit tunnels giving way to surprisingly spacious chambers, each echoing with the whispers of those who once lived and worked here. It’s a setting that invites reflection, curiosity, and, for those with an appreciation for the finer subtleties of history, genuine awe. In short, the City of Caves is a Nottingham treasure — a reminder that some of the most remarkable stories are told not in grand halls or museums, but in the quiet depths beneath our feet. With Sam as your guide (or perhaps “Philip,” should you prefer the mystery), it is an experience not to be missed.

Lovely little hour tour. Pur tour guide Evie was full of energy and told the stories and histories with such fun and theatre. Very interesting and worth every penny and a donation.

Buy tickets in advance to get a time slot. The tickets are valid for twelve months. The guided tour was great, lots of stories and information from our guide. Would recommend, along with the Halls of Justice. Maybe not for the claustrophobic!

Nottingham Castle is a historic mansion that offers displays on local history, decorative items, and renowned international artists' work. The castle provides an excellent view of the town and features remarkable bronze sculptures of Robin Hood and his tribe by James Woodford. Damaged in 1651, it was replaced by an Italian-styled citadel owned by the Duke of Newcastle.
Nottingham Castle. I was at a loose end and decided to go for a day out. Absolutely fabulous, a lot of interactive exhibits which are ideal for both adults and children. The art galleries are absolutely perfect and the cafe is great too. The shop is perfect for all pocket sizes and the grounds are beautifully looked after. For the adult ticket of £15, it’s free entry for a year so is worth going just for that!
Jess W — Google review
Nottingham Castle played an important role in Britain's history. Apart from being famous for being home to the Sheriff of Nottingham, the castle was a strategic stronghold during England's civil war in the 1600's. Today the castle is museum that houses exhibits of Nottingham's lace manufacturing, studies surrounding the "Major Oak" in Sherwood Forest, and many other interesting displays. Outside the walls is a statue of Robin Hood that is a must see for visitors. Beneath the city is a network of caves that are also present at the castle. Booking a tour of the castle caves provides visitors with much more information about the history and importance Nottingham Castle has played in Britain's history.
Paul C — Google review
Cool castle ramparts encasing a grand mansion steeped in history. Highly recommend booking a cave tour to explore the tunnels within the castle rock. The guides are hugely knowledgeable and give you a fun, educational, story-filled experience.
Leah M — Google review
Nottingham Castle looks impressive and full of history, even from the outside. The grand architecture and its position overlooking the city make it a striking landmark. The grounds and surrounding area are beautifully kept and offer great photo opportunities. A must-see spot that captures the heritage and charm of Nottingham!
Harsha J — Google review
Nottingham Castle is a great mix of history, legend, and modern storytelling. The museum inside offers well-presented exhibits about Robin Hood, local art, and the city’s past. The castle grounds are beautifully maintained with lovely views over Nottingham. While the original medieval castle no longer stands, the experience is still engaging and family-friendly — worth a visit if you’re exploring the city’s heritage.
David G — Google review
We had a lovely afternoon here. Kids loved the art museum. And so much history. We are most definitely going again. As we still did not managed to explore all the grounds.
Erica — Google review
Great place to visit in Nottingham! The castle has loads of history, the museum is well set out, and the views over the city are amazing. The best part though is the jack’s cave tour – exploring the tunnels under the castle is such a unique experience. Highly recommend booking the tour when you go!
Manula J — Google review
Personally, we thought £15 entry for adults (£30 for us both) was expensive for a one-off visit if you wanted a tour of the caves that was an extra £8 per adult (we did not go on that). Yes, the entry ticket lasts a year and you can go as many times as you want which is good if you live close by, It's nice that children are free to enter, nice grounds with views over Nottingham, it's not really a Castle more like a mansion building which houses an art gallery / museum in the main building, the Robin Hood experience is more for kids with lots of interactive things to do, we enjoyed the Rebellion part of the exhibition and all about the history of Nottinghams troubled past, Wasn't really impressed with the echos of the Forest exhibition lots of tree photos and a video of some ladies dressed on cloaks hiding in trees, it may be I would prefer to walk in a natural woodland or forest and listen to the natural sound of nature, personally we would not return as we have seen it

Nottingham Contemporary is an elegant building nestled into a sandstone cliff, featuring modern art galleries, a learning area, and a cafe. By day, it's a leading international art gallery, while by night it transforms into a cavernous music venue hosting various events. The expansive concrete basement space has hosted performances by renowned artists and bands. The institution also offers workshops, film screenings, and more to celebrate the arts.
AMAZING ART GALLERY !!! Completely free to enter and so well done. The gift shop was also amazing. I cannot recommend this enough.

My first Candlelight concert. Massive Hans Zimmer fan. 41 Degrees smashed this set! Absolutely brilliant, relentless! Lovely venue
Jessica W — Google review
We have been first time here. It was ok but not something great what we were expecting. Musicians were playing beautifully, but we were expecting to have more instruments like piano as well, but there wasn’t and also the place was very small and we were expecting to be in really big hall like on the pictures of candlelight concert

I visited many times this Building and always been happy to see the artist from around the world, as a source of culture , they contribute our community, with events such a candles stick night, what I recommend to see , and visit regularly, becouse always have something to discover and take away in your heart.

Fre entry! It's a large, pleasant space. The Exhibition we saw ( and heard) took time tune into, but gradually we allowed ourselves to absorb the sounds, images and ideas. It was thought provoking, surprising yet also calming. Cafe food excellent and affordable, mostly veggie options. Most. Enjoyable.
Emily — Google review
It's a good contemporary galery. I'm not a huge fan of contemporary art is sometimes it doesn't show mastery of skills but concentrates on the message. My preferences aside, it's a good place, good lighting, great and friendly staff with lots of events and community engagement activities. If you are into contemporary art (or stuck for options) I definitely reccomend paying a visit. Overall a wonderfully place and staff.
Zlati K — Google review
I remember coming here often as a child growing up, which initially got me into art in the first place. First time visiting again after a long time, and I love how it's stayed the same! Would love to see more exhibitions in the future, and come visit again :) Also, not sure if The Space on the lower ground floor is still being used as part of exhibitions or not? But I remember that room being the best part of my childhood!

Spacious, organized space and helpful staff. Nice gift shop with lots to choose from, good for presents. Friendly cafe with clean, well presented toilets. Gallery was tidy and had a good atmosphere. Thought provoking and professional exhibitions. Noticed the roof outside the entrance has a lace pattern, fitting in with the history of the area. There is a Tate modern feel to the building inside and out. Free to get in, but felt I should leave a donation which is easy to do. I look forward to more visits!

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is a renowned and peculiar ancient pub nestled in stone caves. It boasts a charming and quirky interior, complete with resident ghosts. The pub provides delectable food options alongside its traditional ale, making it an enticing destination for visitors. Located in Nottinghamshire, England, this historic establishment holds the distinction of being one of the country's oldest public houses.
As good as it gets. An old fascinating and historical pub Built into the cliff side ,Great old architecture, lots of small rooms over two floors. With two outdoor areas. Very nice food and menu selection. Helpful and friendly staff. A must visit for all ,Ghosts Included.
Mick K — Google review
Recommended by a friend in Ohio, and what a recommendation! I had lunch after touring Nottingham Castle, which I would recommend as Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is in a cave under the castle. Like all structures of this era, the ceilings are quite low and the stairs and rooms are quite twisty and full of surprises. The staff was so nice and efficient. I ordered at the bar downstairs and had my meal delivered to a table on the next floor (see video). I’ve taken many trips to the UK, and frequented many establishments with signs claiming the “world’s best fish and chips.”. The fish was amazing and perfectly prepared. The chips were not greasy at all, and very flavorful. The highlight was the fresh peas! Bursting with flavor. I rate the fish and chips second only to the Mayfair Chippy in London, however, the ambiance and experience takes it over the top even if you’re only slopping by for a pint.
Andrew G — Google review
Visited for the first time for a Sunday roast. Best to go before 12.30pm so you can get a table and the Sunday roasts are still available. Ordered the beef roast and beef croquettes. Delicious and reasonably priced. Service was splendid. Inside the pub was literally still like a cave. I will definitely go back again.
K ( — Google review
After visiting the castle and surroundings places stoped here 1st just to take photos and check out the pub but ended up having late afternoon meal. The food was tasty and the atmosphere gives it a cosy and nice vibe. Best was seeing people talking and not with their faces glued to the phones. It's a little tight inside but that's what gives the pub a charm, combined with it beenig carved into the hillside. The staff was very nice, good service. The pub was clean and despite beeing full no bad smells inside. The bar offers a nice variety of drinks. Outside seating with plenty of tables and an inside smaller court. The outside seating comes in handy in warm sunny days to enjoy food and drinks with friends or family. There's on street paid parking next to the pub. Will be returning when visiting Nottingham again.
Daniel A — Google review
It was very easy to give this historical 12th century pub nestled into the caves of Nottingham Castle a maximum rating. I received very good bar service and a generous discount being a CAMRA member. The bartender was quite knowledgeable about local ales and some of the history of the pub; even the regular customer propping up the bar, was keen to chat about both subjects. I can imagine that as autumn becomes autumnal with howling winds, the cooler temperatures and the long nights, this pub will be a gem for supernatural thrill seekers. Will definitely return very soon!
Paul B — Google review
Well this really is a very special pub to visit. Its an absolute gem of a pub carved into the sand stone of Nottingham Castle. Its possibly the oldest pub in England but wasbis for sure is the warm welcome from the staff who are very friendly and knowledgeable of the ales and beers on offer. Lots of great seating inside and out and super fine ales. The beer choice really is very good. I look forward to coming back again soon.
Adrian W — Google review
Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem is a great little pub. It is partially underground set in a cave, so a very interesting setting. There is a really good menu catering for almost everyone. Vegetarian, and vegan options available, and for people with specific allergies. The food arrived promptly, and was delicious, as well as generous. Very friendly, and attentive staff behind the bar. Great range of beers and ales. Must go back as I only had two! The others look very inviting and attractive to lovers of Real Ales. No complaints at all. Highly recommended.

Wollaton Hall is an impressive Elizabethan mansion located just three miles west of Nottingham city center, surrounded by a picturesque 500-acre deer park. The mansion houses the Natural History Collection and the Nottingham Industrial Museum, offering visitors the chance to explore six galleries of natural history exhibits. Additionally, it gained international fame as Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises.
Wollaton Hall and Park is a great trip for a few hours out with family or friends. The variety of wildlife on site makes for a great walk around, especially spotting the deers or heron. There are a few cafes on site which offer snacks or lunches and coffees, with indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend visiting the museum on the courtyard, it is very interesting and the entry fee goes to a good cause.
Hayley R — Google review
I always love going to Wollaton, whether that be for work or pleasure. I recently shot another wedding there and the staff and food as always was first rate. We even got some magical rooftop and golden hour shots up there and in the Prospect room.
Daniel P — Google review
The dinosaur exhibition was our favourite: a life size t-rex! But the museum is so much more than this. With hi-tech activities such as live virtual excavation and building an ecosystem, alongside hands-on experiences like fossil finding and exploring microscopes, this is the best museum weve been to.
Alexandra T — Google review
Went to an outdoor movie for hocus pocus and its was AMAZING! I need to go to more Wollaton events because im never disappointed. I also went to the country music festival here over the summer and it was a blast! I’ve been inside and it was lovely. The grounds are free though.

Such a wonderful place! The castle, the museum, the back garden and the deer park all look amazing and stunning! We had a lovely day.

Stunning, fantastic experience being so close to deers. And the views from the hall are epic. £15 to go into the museum was disappointing.

Wollaton Hall, Gardens and Deer Park is a 16th-century English Renaissance style mansion located in Nottingham. The ancient building houses a natural history museum and is set in parkland with walking trails, a botanical garden, and a variety of flowers. The picturesque park spans five hundred acres and offers ample space for relaxation. Visitors can enjoy bike rides, observe deer in their natural habitat, and marvel at the grand gardens.
Wollaton Hall and Deer Park is a place you want to visit if you are visiting Nottingham. It has a kids' play area, Wollaton Hall, restaurants, cafes, museum, shops, a golf course, and a lake where you will find lots of ducks, swans, and other bird people feed them. Toilets facility available. Lots of open spaces for kids play and run around. It is really nice to visit during summertime with friends and family for picnics. If you ride bicycles, do get it. You will enjoy the ride around the lake and to the top. Ample pay and display parking inside the park. You will certainly enjoy the place.

Visiting Wollaton Park was a dream come true for me as a Batman fan. The moment I found out this was the filming location for Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises, I knew I had to see it—and standing there in front of Wollaton Hall honestly left me in awe. The building is absolutely stunning, with its towering windows and intricate stonework. For a moment, it really felt like I was stepping into Bruce Wayne’s world. The park itself is just as beautiful as the Hall. Wide green spaces, autumn leaves scattered across the grass, and peaceful paths made it feel both grand and calm at the same time. I could’ve stayed there for hours just walking around and taking it all in. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. You can tell they care about the place and its history, and they were happy to chat and answer questions. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. As a Batman nerd, it felt like a pilgrimage to Wayne Manor. But even if you’re not into Batman, Wollaton Park is still an incredible spot to explore—beautiful, relaxing, and full of character.

Great place to visit. The car park is £5, I paid for this in the shop, giving them my number plate. The park is very extensive but it was fantastic to see the deer so close. The house is fascinating with all the natural history displays. This was £15 but the ticket lasts a year. The gardens were also very nice and the view down to the lake was beautiful. The cafe was ok, not the largest selection of food and the drinks were all served in cardboard drinking cups. All the staff everywhere were very friendly and helpful. The shop was nice to look around and standard prices. The toilet facilities were good and clean. There were some near the cafe and in the house. I definitely recommend a visit. On a warm summers day it would be a lovely place to bring a picnic and make a day of it.

Visited the walled gardens specifically. A wonderful, relaxing and fascinating project to restore the site. Lovely volunteers working at the site and amazing progression being made. Only open set times during the summer for tours. A warm welcome. This is a very special place.

Lovely grounds, plenty of deer and a nice walk in fresh air. There are toilets, a café and gift shop.if you need them. You need the Ringgo app to park and pay £6.10 for all day.

The park is about 500 acres. Many children at the playground, families on picnic rugs, deer wandering through acreage. Camellia House & Wollaton Hall are so different. Enjoyed every moment.

Not the best of days from a weather point of view but certainly from the number of people there. We will definitely be coming back and hopefully on the next visit go around the house. The cafe coffee and smoked bacon baguette was superb imo.

The National Justice Museum, located in Nottingham, United Kingdom, offers an immersive exploration of England's legal history dating back to the 1780s. Housed in the historic Shire Hall and County Gaol, this museum features interactive exhibits and artifacts that vividly depict the stories of criminals, victims, and law enforcement over the centuries. Visitors can engage in mock trials, explore old prison cells, and learn about famous trials.
Spent an afternoon here with my partner and her sister. We saw the court case and hanging reenactments and the actors were absolutely shining. Really brought the experience together, filled with knowledge and gave us further direction within our trip. Pricing is incredibly low considering what you get. Really happy with our time here. A further thanks to the actors involved, it makes the whole vibe so much better. Thank you.

What an incredible museum and well worth the entrance fee. The history of the museum, along with details of the former inmates, was so interesting. There is just so much to learn about, and presented so well. I've visited so many old goals over the years, but this museum offers far more and definitely worth visiting.

So impressed by this museum. Full of information and exhibits some of them interactive .But the highlight was the live performances of a Georgian trial in which members of the public took part and the "hanging" performance. Both were entertaining and informative. Could have stayed for hours. Highly recommend

It's my first time coming here and it was very interesting, I learned a lot. They made it more enjoyable with the wrist bands, and you walked around looking for the prisoners' numbers and found out what they were imprisoned for. The actors were very good and friendly, which made the day more enjoyable. Also enjoyed the little cafe the food was delicious and I'd happily come here again.

The National Justice Museum was an interesting museum, brought to life by the people playing characters, so make sure you get to listen to the stories in court and at the gallows. The museum has a frustrting safe to crack (which we did not manage to do) and we enjoyed a brief stop at the cafe. About 2 hours and twin with the Caves (must see as well). Get a joint ticket!

great experience, we loved the actors making it a very immersive experience. a fantastic feature on the current legal system for people seeking asylum which is brought to life by a film following the story of an amazing woman, we would really recommend watching this when you come.

Looking for an interesting and fun day in Nottingham…we spent over three hours visiting the fascinating national justice museum and highly recommend this well organised and original experience including the enactments! Cafe tea was the best in the city and the staff were fantastic. Can’t wait to use my annual ticket to go to the museum again.

Nottingham Arboretum, established in 1852, is a historic Victorian park boasting a remarkable collection of over 800 trees. This green oasis is easily accessible from the city center and has retained its original design by botanist Samuel Curtis. The park offers various heritage features, tree trails, and orienteering activities for families and dog walkers to enjoy. Awarded the Green Flag Award, it provides a peaceful environment with scenic views and a charming café.
Parking was hard to find but there was some close at the hospital. Toilets are only available at the kiosk / cafe for customers. That is the only negative. Pleasant walk. I spent over two hours walking around staff doing their best to keep the weeds down and everything looking good. If you want a get away from the city or just have time to kill while you wait for your hotel to be available as I did it is a nice relaxing time.

A Peaceful Green Escape in the Heart of the City The Arboretum is a beautiful green space located right next to the city centre, making it an ideal place to escape the busy atmosphere without having to travel far. The park is full of charm, with plenty of hidden alcoves and nooks to discover. There is a lovely aviary enclosure, and the area is rich with wildlife, from birds to squirrels, bringing the space to life. Throughout the park, you’ll find interesting pieces of architecture that add character and a sense of history. I often encounter kind and friendly people during my visits, which adds to the welcoming feel. It is a truly peaceful spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy a moment of calm in nature.

This is an absolutely wonderful park to stroll around if you have a couple of hours to spare, there's plenty of benches to relax and watch the wildlife, the squirrels are very tame and a joy to see scurrying around the trees and bushes... The park is wheelchair friendly with everywhere on the flat and no obstacles to overcome... It's also a dog friendly park, but please keep your pets on a lead so as not to scare the wildlife... The trees and bushes are splendid, I'm returning for definite in the Autumn when nature's colours are at their finest... The Arboretum is only 15 to 20mins walk from the City Centre, so if you're in the City centre and fancy a break from the City, come here to recharge your health batteries, it's well worth it... I caught the bus from outside the City and exited the bus at Canning Circus then it's only a 5min walk downhill to the Arboretum, but please be careful of the trams as there's a couple of tramlines to cross from there... All in all a marvellous place to visit... Come, you won't be disappointed ...

The National Arboretum is a place everyone should visit. It has amazing memorials and statues for all the armed forces and other organisations that have done so much for others. We went for the Donor Family service held annually in the Aspect building. There is a free exhibition on 1944 inside. A great restaurant, and shop. A land train to take you around the grounds. Loads of volunteers to talk to. And entrance is FREE apart from parking

Absolutely beautiful park — perfect for a relaxing walk or peaceful afternoon! There are plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the scenery, and the friendly squirrels are such a delight to watch. The park is flat and wheelchair accessible, making it easy for everyone to explore. It’s also dog-friendly, though best to keep pets on a lead to protect the wildlife. The trees and greenery are stunning, and I can’t wait to return in autumn when the colors change. Only about a 15–20 minute walk from the city centre, it’s a great spot to escape the hustle and recharge. A real hidden gem — definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby!

Well kept gardens with gorgeous trees, British birds and friendly squirrels. The Chinese Bell is interesting too. I enjoyed my time here. Shame the cafe or toilets weren't open, especially as it's been half term week.

This is such a big peaceful area to visit. The sound of the trees when the wind blows,is such a refreshing sound. The colourful flowers make this place is a relaxing place to be. This is such a nice place to have picnics especially during summer time. There are a number of bins and the park is well maintained. It is important to point out that there is a pond with some ducks and there is a restriction of not feeding these ducks. We love to visit this place as its easily accessible with nearby tram stop and also it is wheelchair accessible.

The theater offers a range of spectacular productions including iconic plays, musicals, and local performances.
I love this place! I see a show here at least twice a year if I can because they have some great plays and musicals on, including new pieces. It's small enough not to overwhelm you but big enough to house some excellent productions

Lift was out of order Sept 20, but did receive notification to enter via side door. Unfortunately they hadn't moved book sales from the upper level! No one checked tickets!! In turn, no help to seats. Changing room/loo had a hoist which was placed in front hand drier! I had to move this to use drier. Outside door propped open, made it very cold 🥶 in our seats. Wheelchair seating area, not wide enough for users to pass and a heated argument took place. Blue badge parking was fantastic and only for this reason would I consider returning.

We went to see 'to kill a mocking bird', which was excellent. From the point of booking I was kept really well informed about timings, how to get there, parking, access etc. It was very helpful being our first time to the venue. We sat in the circle, which is fairly steep, but has excellent visibility, even if you have a tall person sat in front of you. Very good! The bars were open in good time and drinks easy to buy or book for the interval and a water urn was available too, which is great. A really great venue and play. Certainly recommended and we'll be going back again.

Good views and plenty of seats - moderately comfy. Tickets are reasonably priced. I find the sloped floor, theatre design and snacks available poor compared to the other theatres in Nottingham however the quality of the shows is fantastic. The ladies toilets are small for the number of guests and most sinks were broken.

The place was great, I was here just for few days in Nottingham and decided to watch this play Mrs. MARRY WHITEHOUSE. The bar service was stellar, I guess an Indian guy, can’t catch his name to be honest, something Matty (sorry if I’m wrong), great service, very well marketed the drinks. To be very frank, I didn’t wanted to buy interval drinks, but he marketed so well, like some discount, he actually lured us to buy interval drinks and also the drinks were perfectly made. Just wanted to make sure he gets a little bit credit around the place, because that small gesture created an impact on our group ✌️

Much recommend, reserve your seats early. Be sure to park your car at one of the out of town tramway park and rides which run every 12 minutes. Take the tram to Old Market Square. The National Ice Centre in Nottingham is a top-notch ice skating arena that caters to all skill levels and preferences. It offers family skating, toddler sessions, and private parties, making it a versatile destination for visitors of all ages. The center is home to the Nottingham Lions ice hockey team and has two Olympic-sized rinks – one for public skating and another known as the arena used for shows, concerts, and ice hockey games.
Always come here when we come to Nottingham. £12 for the session. There’s different times each day so look online for that. Can book online to “fast track” or just pay there. Skate hire is included in the price and you can hire aids for £5 if needed according to different heights. Can also bring your own skates. Cold if you’re observing (duh) but when skating you do warm up
Natalie D — Google review
Been skating at Nottingham for 30 years, and slowly watched it go down hill. Booked on for a public skating session only to find that not only is there a tots zone in the middle (which there normally is and this is stated on the website) but now the top third of the rink is blocked off for speed skaters. There was no information on the website when booking about the speed skating section and we were still charged full price for the use of a part ice rink. In addition to this the cafe downstairs is now shut so there is no where to warm up and buy a coffee except to put skate guards on and use the lift to go up stairs. This is ok if there is not an event on, because when there are events upstairs they stop you going upstairs in your skates even with guards on. This whole place is just a joke now, go to Sheffield instead!
Sarah S — Google review
Cool experience and cheap but they definitely overcrowd the rink and don't really enforce the rules. Girl at till was lovely and the women that give out the skates work very hard. They accept card but bring cash for lockers. The ice rink is cold but if you wear long trousers and a jacket you'll be okay. It was my first time skating and I keen to learn but couldn't really I had someone skate backwards into me and my boyfriend, very almost fell over. Rude but okay💀 I think there should be a beginners skate time and then a skate time for people who want to show off. There were a few times that people would knock me going past super fast, it's really daunting. I understand that little kids might not have awareness but it was also grown adults too🤨 People just didn't seem to have much courtesy icl. I don't know what I was doing wrong, since it was my first time I made sure to not go in the middle and stayed out of peoples way as much as I could. Kids were grating up the ice with their skates to throw at each other lmao, the ice isn't great quality. Majority of people were sound don't get me wrong I get it's going to be a little chaotic when it's a weekend but it's the few people that don't have any courtesy, that really spoil it. It was fun tho had my heart racing when I'd have those close encounters with people not realizing they need to move round me not through me. 💀 I think there needs to be a life guard sort of, someone to enforce the rules. At the end of the day it's everyone's skate rink they are entitled to have their fun just as much as I am. I did really enjoy the moments were I was able to skate a bit and I'll definitely come back just not on a weekend. The price is fair enough so maybe it's just part of the experience lmao. It was a laugh.

Appalling lack of medical aid! Staff were lovely however they admitted they have very little first aid training. My partner had a really bad fall on the ice to which he stated clearly ge cannot walk on it and instead of finding a safer way of getting him off the ice he was forced to walk on it. We went to A&E and found out that his foot was broken in 2 areas with the 2nd breakage having been caused by the fact he had to walk on it. Thankful that the staff tried to help as much as they could but it is very shocking that for a public skating event where beginners are likely to get very seriously injured, there is a lack of medical help.

I loved the experience.. I believe it was an affordable amount.. You only pay once at the entrance, they will provide you with shoes of your size (they don't do half sizes) so I'd go half a size smaller! You can get the sliding aids (you pay a little extra for this item) and voila good to go! It was way too busy when I visited. Due to an ongoing learning session, coaches refused us to enter the rink! but once the lessons were over, the place was crowded!

Went to go watch the panthers twice! Great games, very busy but yet it was very clean. Not a very long wait to get in (quick bag check and quick ticket scan)
Alex M — Google review
As someone who has gone to this rink for a year now Id say there is some good and bad about it, first pros, very central to the city and in a great location, a lot of room to get your skates on, lockers are a good size, it’s got a nice cafe to sit in where you can watch the skating, a lot of events like hockey etc, felt very safe to leave things out(nothing gets stolen often), there is a student discount and it’s cheaper than alot of other ice rinks, lastly there is also a shop to buy skate equipment, which is very rare to see. Cons, too many people allowed to skate at once in public skate it becomes a hazard, also the rink sometimes gets split in 2 for hockey practice, would love to know before hand what times this happens so I can avoid it, the entrance is also not very efficient since it’s not really closed off so people who haven’t paid for skating can just walk in if nobody is on the till, you do get wristbands but they are rarely checked so mabye crack down on security a bit more.

Additionally, visitors can unwind at the tiki bar after their game with delicious cocktails or cold beers. The venue also offers special discounts for students on selected days.
This is the best crazy golf that we've visited it the UK. It's really atmospheric (even the toilets!) and there are lots of surprises with sounds and video and things moving. We did both courses, they both are good with a good amount of challenge. It's great that they also sell food and drink. The staff are friendly and helpful. We went at 10.30 on a week day which meant there were no queues. I hope to visit again sometime.

Good fun, awesomely themed. We went on a Saturday so the queue was very long 😪 but once you get on the course it's not that bad. I'd highly recommend those baskets you can push to put your coats in. It was winter when we went and it was very helpful not having to tie our big coats when playing (which we did do the first course round lol). There are two courses, ones supposed to be easier than the other but I'll be honest they felt the same 😆

Great place for friends and family, reasonably priced. Two trails, sacred skull and temple trail. Both are quite fun, sacred skull being a bit more challenging. 18 holes are priced at £10 which seemed very reasonable to me. The ambience and look of the place was very very remarkable, lots of visual and audio effects going on.
Adeeba R — Google review
Its alright but not enforcing rules on group limits, i get families want to play but the people in front of us had 5 kids with them so 8 of them it literally took three times as long. Due to large groups being let in it got to like course 3 out of 18 or whatever and people were piling up waiting for this one group to finish they must have taken well over 10 minutes per course. Due to this people were just piling up behind them with no where to stand and obviously people were getting frustrated. Its a good bit of fun but felt some courses were just far too simple and repetitive and also blasting hot air when its roasting. Feel like they need a dedicated course for groups over a certain size because even if they did enforce the group rule families even in pairs would still stand around talking and waiting for each other anyway, most people going seem to be in pairs so takes around 5 minutes per course but when you've got a family of 8 in front of you then it takes well over 10-15 minutes just to go onto next one it just got annoying and i know 2 couples behind me just cut across or walked out and due to no space its not like people can stand out the way while waiting for people in front so people had to stand on the course or stand right next to you while your trying to play and also makes people uncomfortable with a audience watching them 24.7. Also, due to people being inpatient you'll get comments and laughter and not once did we get onto a course without a bunch of other people stood literally right on us trying to rush us into going and the people in front at one point just started picking the balls up or not even trying. They need gaps in between so some sort of system with a WAIT and GO with distance between each course to stop people piling up as sadly i wouldn't go back again.
Corey F — Google review
Probably one of the best crazy golf places I've been to! A bit tucked away, but easy enough to find, the two courses of eighteen holes are huge! While the skull trail is better for a challenge, I thought the jungle atmosphere around the temple trail was way better! Would definitely recommend doing both if it's in your budget, and it is honestly priced better than some eighteen hole courses!!

We are so blessed to have so many great concert and theatres venues in Nottingham. The theatre royal is fabulous for plays and the concert hall for artists. On this occasion I went to see " Queen of the Night " A Whitney Houston tribute . The whole show was fantastic, she looked and sounded like Whitney , the band was top class and all engaged so well with the audience. Loved the show. As for the Concert Hall, great seating and views, fabulous acoustic, friendly helpful staff and very good pricing. Downsides, no bar and very poor toilet facilities, especially for women where the queue is huge. If they got those two things upgraded would easily be a 5 star venue.

My first time since childhood, probably about 50 years ago. There's a strange kind of beauty within the theatre slightly haunting and enigmatic which draws the eye around theatre and up to the beautiful ceiling. If you get the opportunity to go to a show, take it, it's an incredible place .

I loved my visit to see Kinky Boots at the Theatre.. my 1st visit in over 20 years. I was so chuffed to get a wheelchair seat and one where my sister (carer) could be with me too. She helped me and made sure I was okay everywhere. The view from accessible seating is a touch restricted as it's under the dress circle at the back of the stalls (any action high up is hard to see but as most happens at stage level.. all was good and I loved the show. It's got to be good views as its at the side of the lighting desk and they need to see too! See my video for your view.

We recently went to see Explorers with James May, which was excellent. However please be aware when visiting this venue, that you may need a mortgage to have a drink. The bar prices are extortionate, 1 pint and a soft drink £11!! I understand the bars are run by a third party, if I were in charge of the venue, I would ask if profit is coming before customer satisfaction! This does not give the venue a very good image, especially when paying for tickets which were later reduced, if I left my booking nearer the date of the show.

Rachel Cheung at Nottingham Royal Concert Hall – A Moment Never to Forget At today’s recital by Rachel Cheung at the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall, I was graced with a front-row seat barely ten feet from the piano. The experience exceeded every expectation by a furlong. To hear someone perform Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata — all three movements — is a rare and unforgettable privilege. The tension was almost tangible as the climactic third movement began: a storm of emotion expressed not only through her fingers but also through the intensity on her face. It cast a spell over the entire audience. Between movements, the hall was so silent that one could hear a pin drop. The audience, deeply respectful, withheld their applause so as not to break the spell. It was a shared moment of reverence — performer and audience bound in awe. To listen, to watch, to learn, and to love such exceptional talent is one of life’s rare blessings. To have been seated so close — to witness such mastery and emotion at arm’s reach — made it an experience I will never forget.

Green's Windmill and Science Centre is a restored windmill originally built in the 1800s, located just a short walk from Nottingham's Market Square. It was once the home of mathematical physicist George Green and has been rebuilt after a fire in the 1980s. Visitors can explore the inner workings of the windmill over four floors, learn about flour-making processes, and even purchase award-winning organic flour.
A Fantastic Visit to Green’s Windmill and Science Centre Today, my family and I visited Green’s Windmill and Science Centre in Nottingham, and it was a brilliant experience! The site is a perfect mix of history, science, and hands-on learning, making it a fantastic day out for both little ones and grown-ups alike. The beautifully restored windmill is a fascinating piece of history, and seeing it in action was a highlight. Learning about how flour is traditionally milled was both educational and engaging. The Science Centre was also a big hit, packed with fun and interactive exhibits that kept the children entertained while teaching them about science and engineering. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. It’s a place that truly brings history and science to life, making learning an exciting adventure. The staff are incredibly friendly, and there's a convenient cafe on site for refreshments. It's not a huge zoo, but its free entry makes it perfect for a sunny day visit, offering a pleasant break from city life.

Lovely oasis of calm in the city, a great place for a quick diversion from the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed feeding the animals.

Such an amazing facility to have so close to the city centre. Managed to get a space in the car park, staff were very friendly and helpful. Even at the suggested donation price, great value for money.

Lovely place to visit for anyone, families, friends, or on your own! They have lovely gardens, cafe, small gift shop and lovely well looked after animals. The cows and goats are always enthusiastic for a scratch! Make sure to check their social media because sometimes they have activities going on too!

We went here for a child's party. I was really impressed with it. A great inner city farm run by mainly volunteers. Parking can be tight but you can park on the road for £3 all day. The cafe was very good value for money. Food was great and the staff were super friendly. Overall a great community feel to the place.

Nestled just a stone's throw from the Motorpoint Arena, Disco Bowl Nottingham is a vibrant family-friendly bowling venue that has recently undergone an exciting transformation. With its eye-catching graffiti decor and an impressive 48 lanes spread across two floors, it’s perfect for spontaneous visits without the worry of long waits. The atmosphere comes alive in the evenings with dazzling light shows and DJ sets on weekends, making it an ideal spot for both casual outings and romantic dates.
We visited for my son’s 8th birthday as a family of 10 including two children under 5. The staff were all so accommodating and lovely. We arrived early and were able to start our bowling ahead of our booking. We bought a combo ticket so also got to enjoy the scrapyard golf, which is BRILLIANT! The decor, music, and atmosphere was perfect. The arcade was also really fun. Thanks so much.

Booked a party of 7 paid for two games of bowling golf and a drink. Set across two lanes first lane dosent reset and both lanes show incorrect score. Staff fixed lanes reset score for the score to be showing incorrectly again. Changed us to a different two lanes. However the lane we was on staff keep coming in and out through the booth interrupting our celebrations. Made the best of it and went to receive our drink each as ordered with the package. Asked at the main desk if they was a bar upstairs, was told yes but you need the downstairs bar for the cocktails as she gave us our tickets for the drinks. Then proceeded to said bar and tried to order cocktails. Can't have that, tried a bottle of cider can't have that. Never mentioned any of this when booking but then again the print of the ticket was so small we needed full zoom on a phone camera for it to be barely legible. Table service was extremely slow considering how quiet they was. They also ID'd my sister and her partner at the bar AFTER they had started drinking their drinks (both of age) and then proceeded to ask them and two more separate occasions for their ID again which is VERY bad practice. One if they wasn't off age they would have already broke the law second communicate guys don't come bother us at the table while we are trying to enjoy the party, especially when you had already verified the entire parry was over 18. The music was good, the food decent and drinks good. The golf course is hilarious but the service rather underwhelming for the cost incurred, and the "fine/small print" was ludicrous. ***edited to add picture the small print on the advertised packages actually say SELECTED spirits cocktails or 500ml bottles. However the vouchers states EXCLUDES spirits cocktails or 500ml bottles. Which is false advertisement in the least let alone the fact that the small print isn't even legible in either circumstance which I'm sure dosent follow the UK regulation on "small print" and is most likely not of the legal standard 12 point font.

Disco Bowl in Nottingham is a fantastic place for families. My daughter attended her friend’s birthday party there and had an amazing time. She really enjoyed bowling and playing the various arcade games. The atmosphere was fun and lively, perfect for kids’ parties. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the facilities were clean and well-organized. It’s a great spot for both kids and adults to have a fun day out!

I have been using this Bowling Alley since 1966 and I have had many good times with family and friends over the years. This has continued into recent years when I have taken my grandchildren twice in the last two weeks to play the crazy golf. The course is very entertaining and a good leveller for a group with a diverse range of age 10 - 74 years and diverse abilities. A good time has been had by all over the school holidays. However following the golf with my two teenage grandsons we decided to play a game of pool. However, we quickly found that there was very limited space from one end of the table, holes in the cloth but most significantly there was a terrible slope on the table making a reasonable game impossible. This very negative experience completely spoiled the visit for my grandsons and myself. I raised this with two members of with no helpful response. The adjacent table appeared in much better condition but no offer was received to get a complimentary game on that table. I was told that the Manager was not available but my concerns would be raised. As a pensioner with teenage grandchildren I have limited opportunities to spend time with them and the response I received on this occasion just compounded the poor state of the equipment. This is such a shame as this facility is an absolutely great for the family to spend time together.

Been here a few times, bowling and the arcade machines are really fun, but they have these capsule toys now that are pretty novel, the machine got jammed, but the assistant was incredibly helpful and I thankfully got the one I really wanted ☺️ thank you ! Will probably grab a bunch of these in the future. :)

Was not expecting an ID check just to go bowling - this was not clearly indicated during the booking process or in the booking confirmation email. The music was so loud it was difficult to hold a conversation, although probably should have expected it from the name of the venue - would be nice to have a separate, calmer area as the bowling experience itself was good. Some of the arcade games my friends and I played lasted too short to be enjoyable - less value for money. The service was otherwise alright.

Rock City is a renowned independent stage that has been showcasing up-and-coming bands since it opened in 1980. Over the years, it has hosted iconic acts like Duran Duran, The Smiths, Guns 'n' Roses, Nirvana, and many more. With two stages and multiple bars, the venue offers a fantastic live music experience. It recently won the Best Major Club award at the Live Music Business Awards 2019.
From American to the UK to follow a tour- this was my last show in Manchester. Not going to lie, it was very crammed and the place seemed to be falling apart and maybe a tid bit haunted BUT I hear tons of iconic artists have played here over the many many years and that made the experience even cooler. It did feel quite intimate which I loved personally. Security was on it too! The queue was well organized and there’s nice hotels to stay within short walking distance. Super freaking insane, I bloody LOVED it!
Megan S — Google review
Great venue with great unobstructed views of the stage. Up close and personal. Friendly staff. Great location in the city with tram stops a short walk away. A premier inn is less than 5 minutes from the venue too which relieves the thought of having to drive home straight after the gig. We saw The Lathums supported by Arkala. Great gig, great venue.
Mick G — Google review
Been to many gigs here and the layout is actually decent for a show. Quite a few big car parks near by, plenty of restaurants and bars for preshow. The view from most places in the venue is good too. Most recent was New Found Glory.

I’ve never felt so humiliated trying to go on a night out. I bought my ticket online for Rock City, showed up excited, and after showing my ID I was asked who I was with. When I said I came alone, the bouncers told me “no single males are allowed in tonight.” What makes this worse is that I know there are nights when single males are allowed in — and that same night, I saw British men walk in on their own with no issue. For me, as a Romanian, I was turned away. It felt like I was given an excuse, but the real reason was clear: I was treated differently because I am foreign. To pay for a ticket in good faith, only to be refused entry while others are let in, was humiliating and discriminatory. This isn’t just poor customer service — it’s unfair and unacceptable. I left feeling embarrassed, angry, and unwelcome. Nobody should ever be treated like this. The big guy with tattooes and the one near him refused my entry.
Claudiu S — Google review
First ever visit to Rock City the other week for WASP. What a venue! Love the fact that security just scanned everyone in quickly and left people to it, rather than getting all over involved like Showsec do at other venues. Parking so close, perfect! Will definitely be back!
C T — Google review
Good: The staff were great, really helpful in getting a seat side stage and helping me get in. A good view across the stage about 15-20 metres away. Acoustics ok for being side stage. Staff going round during the show to collect rubbish was something I have not seen in other venues. The room was free from the usual dropped plastic cups you see elsewhere. Top marks for that Bad: I needed a disabled parking space and the nearest I could find was a couple streets away. Walking into the venue, there were about 4 lots of stairs to get into the concert room. So not great on crutches. I tried phoning the venue 4 times on the day of the show to ask management about accessibility, no one answered nor returned a call even with 3 messages left. That was a bit rude... Ugly: The place looks like it could benefit from a lick of paint and a refurb. Just seems dated in places. Reminded me of old cinemas when I was a kid in the 90's. Overall: Worth 4 stars for the staff. But if you have a long drive to get there, especially if you have accessibility issues, plan ahead.
Keith P — Google review
Great gig, queue before doors open was long but well organised and stewarded, the line for those who needed special assistance similarly seemed well organised. It went down very quickly when the doors opened as bags had been searched while in the queue by two very polite and courteous security guys. Went as a lone young woman and never felt afraid or unsafe- queue for the bars weren't long even between sets, the toilets were clean (cleaner than when I've been in on nights out!) but as they were busy did run out of loo roll so maybe stash a packet of tissues in your pocket. The gig was great, definitely busy but never felt crushed or overcrowded, and water was passed through the crowd when it began to get hot. The merch counter was also well staffed and everyone was very friendly. I've been on club nights also and definitely one of the best clubs I've been to, great place, even when it's rammed it never feels unsafe- with security and safety team in the bathrooms and checking on anyone who's been in a cubicle for a while. The drinks aren't too badly priced and you generally don't have to wait ages to order/get your drink. Tunes are amazing and one of my favourite places to be!
Alex C — Google review
Band was amazing (Spacey Jane) and the venue space was great. However, on this night the sound of the band was so quiet you could barely make out what he was singing or saying over the band, which was still fairly quiet for a concert. The volume of the support act had been perfect so it’s not a venue issue but me and my friend actually moved closer to the stage to see if it was just where we were (it wasn’t). Very disappointed in this as we spent money to hear the band and didn’t get the full experience.

Broadway Cinema in Nottingham offers a unique cinematic experience, showcasing indie, foreign, and art house films. As a charity dedicated to nurturing filmmaking talent and promoting creativity, it stands out as a cultural leader for independent cinema in the Midlands. The cinema's diverse program includes foreign language, art house, and experimental titles not typically found at mainstream multiplexes. In addition to regular screenings, Broadway hosts film-making workshops and educational events for the local community.
We went to the Twilight Marathon over the weekend, and honestly, it was amazing. The amount of effort they put into it was insane! They had a whole Twilight-themed menu in the café (food plus drinks), the soundtrack playing in the background of the café, and even a quiz with prizes between each film. They also left fangs and stickers on every seat, and most people got inflatable baseball bats, which was such a fun touch. The staff were so lovely—super chatty and just as excited as everyone there. The energy in the room was unreal, with people cheering and laughing throughout the movies, which made watching that many back-to-back so much easier. The whole thing just felt iconic. They even had a Team Edward vs. Team Jacob vote and swapped out one of the posters for a “Welcome to Forks” sign. Some of the staff dressed up too! Honestly, I would’ve happily paid more for my ticket. It was just so much fun being around so many people who love Twilight as much as I do. I’d love to see them do a Harry Potter marathon next, maybe over two days or two weekends. 10/10 experience!

Broadway cinema is a fantastic independent cinema where you can watch the latest cinema blockbuster as well as independent films. It has a bar as well as anither restaurant on the first floor and the utilities are really good with big toilets as well as a welcoming foyer. The restaurants have a good menu and really good service as friendly staff as well.
Carlie P — Google review
Don't be the same, dare to be different! Broadway does that in a nod to the traditional old cinema experience (without the intervals and ice cream sellers). Don't sneak in food and drink, support this independent cinema with your patronage. There is a bar and a counter but no hot food I could see. The seats are large and feel more like an armchair, space is not an issue here. Not on time? Not a problem, your usher will escort you, with torch to your chair to stop you stumbling around in the dark. Loved it x
C F — Google review
I am rarely able to get into films here as most of the cinema goers that attend have no etiquette. For example, I just went to watch a film, someone chose the seat directly in my eye line on the row in front, and then wouldn’t sit still (such as playing with his hair and spiking it up so part of the screen was blocked off) , and I just couldn’t get into the film. I did move, but by then it was too late as too much of the film had been shown for me to start getting into it. This isn’t the first time, and it’s actually insane how often I get someone sitting near me that proves to be a distraction. It’s really hard to get into most films because I’m constantly being taken out of the immersion by people who don’t know how to behave in screens, or at least realise that other people exist and to be mindful of those around them. I don’t necessarily blame the cinema for this, or the staff, who for the most part are great, but as a film going experience, I rarely enjoy my visits.
Kate J — Google review
A great independent cinema. Shows a range of films, theatre plays and TV specials so just because there is nothing on that you fancy one day, check back regularly as the offering is wide and varied. This cinema also allows drinks from the bar to be taken to your seat, allowing you to enjoy the film in a laid back environment. It doesn't have the bells and whistles that some cinemas have eh IMAX, reclining seats etc but it is clean, comfortable and very welcoming.
Antony G — Google review
This must be up there amongst the highest quality independent arts cinemas in the country - always a good choice of films and the screens are comfortable and good quality environments - screen 1 in particular being a classic cinema experience. Personally I'd sometimes favour a slightly broader range on the menu choices (I think it's been simplified a bit in the last year or so compared with what it was when there were more hot dishes available) but I assume choices have been made on what works best for the kitchen and the need to offer relatively quick service when people have a film to go to. Overall there is a good atmosphere and Broadway is a very important part of the city's cultural range of attractions.
Dan L — Google review
Bought tickets online and realised I bought tickets for the wrong part of the UK (I don't live in Nottingham and there is a Broadway here in Letchworth) wrote to them twice and no response. They are money hungry individuals and simply don't care, i wonder how this attitude is reflected to people who actually attend this cinema.
Jim B — Google review
First visit for us and we’ll be back! Great bar area, plenty of room and so comfortable! I particularly liked that it was good and dark whilst the film was running, and you can take your drinks from the bar! It felt like a space for grown ups without the ridiculously expensive rubbish we seem to get bombarded with at other venues. Broadway is now my preferred venue for films. 👍

My wife and I had such a brilliant time on the Brewery Experience Day at Brewhouse & Kitchen Nottingham. Ross was our brewer and he was fantastic – super knowledgeable, easy to chat to, and made the whole process really fun and engaging. We got hands-on making an American Pale Ale, with Ross guiding us through each step. On top of that, we had a tasty breakfast and lunch, and plenty of beer to enjoy along the way – what more could you want? Honestly, it’s great value for money and such a unique day out. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone who loves beer or just fancies trying something a bit different. Big thanks to Ross, we’ll hopefully pop back in the next couple of weeks to try the APA! 🍻

Had a brilliant visit to this pub recently and it’s quickly become one of my favourites. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a great mix of locals and visitors. The food was hearty and well-cooked, and the drinks selection was spot on. A special mention has to go to Sarah, who really made the experience stand out. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. It’s rare to meet someone who strikes the perfect balance between being professional and personable, but Sarah did exactly that. She made sure everything was just right and added such a positive energy to the evening. Would definitely recommend a visit here – and if you’re lucky enough to be served by Sarah, you’ll be in excellent hands!

The food is tasty (the Beer-Can Chicken is a must-try!) and the drinks menu is excellent. What really makes it stand out is the friendly service—everyone’s welcoming, and a special shout-out to Sarah, who always goes above and beyond. Perfect mix of productivity and relaxation—I’ll definitely be back!

Went here to celebrate my birthday and had an absolutely brilliant time! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming – a perfect mix of lively but still relaxed enough to enjoy a good meal and conversation. I had the rib eye steak and it was cooked to perfection – juicy, full of flavour, and exactly how I asked. For dessert, the cheesecake was a winner – creamy, rich, and the perfect end to the meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. Adam and Jack, two of the younger members of the team, were outstanding – friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely looked after. Nothing was too much trouble, and they helped make the night feel that bit more special. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks for a great birthday evening!

The Hockley Arts Club is a multi-level cocktail bar with various unique spaces, each offering its own distinct ambiance. The ground floor, known as Stockholm, features Scandinavian-inspired decor with deep leather sofas and warm carpets. On the top floor, the Electric Garden offers an exotic conservatory-style setting for enjoying gin and prosecco. In between these spaces lies the Blue Rooms, where intimate tables and private booths provide full table service.
We visited here as part of Nottingham Cocktail Week and it was one of our favourites so my partner decided she'd like to visit again for some birthday cocktails Great service and great drinks, it's a little pricey but no more than any other good cocktail bar and I feel like you're getting what you pay for so it's still good value
Jack G — Google review
Nice atmosphere and good vibes overall. The drinks on the menu were quite meh, personally not a fan of “non-classics” that are overly fruity or juicy. Luckily our bartender was “Cas” who guided our cocktail journey and made us some classics and some special “off menu” items. Recommend asking for a 1910 if you are served by him.

The service was really good and attentive. I had a twister cocktail which tasted exactly like the ice cream lolly. It was incredible. I then followed up with a espresso martini. Again, this was great. It was table service. They are a little pricey but for the ambience, service and cocktails, it's worth it for sure. Very tasty and enjoyable.

Such a great place for delicious drinks! You can choose between three floors which have different vibes (Stockholm is more for dancing, The Blue Rooms is great to chill and chat in a very cosy, warm atmosphere, and The Electric Gardens is perfect to chat and hang out in a nature oriented decor). The cocktails are slightly different between all three venues (although a couple of drinks are available on all three menus). The staff is super friendly. My personal favourite is the Blue Rooms. The cocktails are honestly amazing and well worth the slightly higher prices. Even when a drink isn’t quite what one would go for, they still taste great, perfectly balanced and full of flavour! Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a chilled vibe and delicious drinks.

Used to be a really good bar. Now serves cocktails from pre made mixes, then the staff shake them like they are making a cocktail from scratch. Price is like they are making them properly. Really disappointing! Used to be a hidden gem in Notts! Now shocking tbh
Tom P — Google review
The vibe felt off as soon as we walked in. Two members of staff looked directly at us while we waited to be seated, but carried on chatting to their colleagues rather than acknowledging us. Eventually, we were seated at the bar, where the barman asked if we’d been given menus (we hadn’t). He then asked a blonde staff member - Alice, I think—to bring us some. She rolled her eyes and did so reluctantly, which we later realised was because her shift was ending. Regardless, that’s not a professional look in front of customers. When my partner placed the menu on the bar, the barman asked us to remove it in a passive-aggressive way. It wasn’t clear why he couldn’t have just moved it himself, but the way he said it came across as unnecessarily rude and uncomfortable. The drinks were fine, but overpriced and nothing memorable. The real issue came later: my husband left early, and as he was walking out, a staff member actually chased him down and demanded payment. He tried to explain that I was settling the bill, but was treated as though he was lying and pressured to pay on the spot. He messaged me afterwards to let me know, which meant I didn’t need to pay again but by that point, the damage was done. I left feeling humiliated and unwelcome. The atmosphere was neither friendly nor inclusive, and unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Great place to visit as it's full of nature and a very calm stroll if you want to take the fam and the kids along with you they have amazing scenery and you can even hire a boat and go around the lake on. They also have some amazing statues with loads of detail to them they also have a big play area for kids to play on. There is also a castle not the biggest but still a nice area to visit the park which you can go and stand on.

Lovely walk, good sized park. Boats are a bonus! Although not cheap, but the young lad and young girl were very friendly! There is hardly any parking, and the spaces are very tight. People seemed to park wherever they like also, with no regards to others. Lovely large grass area to sit on. Shame that people cant be bothered to take their rubbish home with them - or in the bin - theres ample of them!!! Crazy golf and foot golf to. All in all, a lovely outdoor area.

Another Park visited for the first time, I parked opposite within the Hockey centre which is free for visitors...as is also the parking within the park grounds... I'm well impressed by the area and boating lake which is I believe in the University grounds... It's only a short walk around the lake, a casual thirty minutes stroll... Unfortunately the cafe was closed by the time I arrived ...my fault entirely, I'll arrive much earlier next time... There's lots of wildlife especially around the lake, I loved the stepping stones area which is a bit of a short cut instead of going further around the lake... I'll give a more comprehensive review the next time I visit... Very enjoyable two to three hours... Thinking of my next visit already...

Had the most wonderful time with a group of 11 of us celebrating a wedding and a birthday! The food was absolutely delicious, and every care was taken with any allergies and food requirements. The staff were so unbelievably adorable and helpful, and didn’t mind putting up with us all! We are a loud bunch :D Thank you for an amazing time and amazing memories made!

We had a really good experience. Very welcoming staff, good ambience, and very delicious food. Definitely recommend and would definitely come back. Ben was very friendly and accommodating. He delivered a 5-star service.

Atmospheric place, very good food. The service is very nice. You can see the process of making pizza. Also when you order tartare the staff prepares it in front of you. I heartily recommend delicious Italian food. We were there at lunchtime without a reservation and got a table for 5 people without any problem. I think it's because it was the middle of the week. Reservations may be needed at the weekend. It's better to check before going there.

What can I say - the atmosphere was so relaxed and inviting. The service was incredible, especially Ben who couldn't have been more polite- and finally but most important the food! It cannot be faulted, the pizza is so authentically Italian 🍕 and for dessert the dough petals were so pleasing I couldn't stop even though I was full!

The food was spot-on! I had a lasagne and my wife had a a carbonara-esque dish with prawns. The tiramisu is one of the best I've tasted in a long while. The atmosphere and ambience was lovely and the staff were very friendly, accommodating and efficient. Highly recommend!

We came here for Sunday lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We shared gusto dough petals with tomatoes, crispy shallots with homemade mayonnaise to start- which were delicious. We both went for a ‘Gusto Roast’ - one pork belly and one mushroom pudding. The portion sizes were really generous. I would especially like to thank our waitress Eleanor - she was the most attentive server we have had in some time, noticing that I was running low on gravy and getting me some more. She gifted us a free prosecco and a personalised brownie from the chef. I would definitely return again for the good food in elegant surroundings with exceptional service.

Castle Rock Brewery is a popular Nottingham pub brewery that offers easy, guided tours for beer lovers. The brewery has a range of beers that are sure to delight, with Black Friday being no exception. There were nine different black beers on tap, each with its own unique taste and flavour. The tours are also great value for money, and are available every day except Sundays.
The staff is friendly, welcoming and warm. I came looking for Ayinger beer. It turned out they don’t sell this particular one, however lovely Vanessa did a whole research for me and explained where can I find this beer. I really appreciate it, thank you guys!

Used to be great but have really been price gouging recently. £6.10 at all of their pubs that I’ve been to for a Guinness is absurd. I asked the landlord and he said that it’s due to the current wholesale price which is a lie as most other places can sell it much cheaper. I’ve had cheaper pints of it in west London within the last year. An independent pub in stapleford that I frequent is selling it for £3.40 and it’s looked after better. Stop taking advantage and maybe your pubs would be busier

So this review is for the tap room at East Midlands airport. Absolutely shocking. Warm beer. Poor quality food. Expensive. The staff are trying their best. Not sure how they are going to earn tips based on the products they are having to serve. I get it's an airport, but seriously Castle Rock, no one will visit or buy a beer from you again based on my experience. Buck your ideas up, support your staff with decent food and a well kept cellar and you can charge whatever price you want. Knowing what I know now I would walk back to boots and get a meal deal. Disgusting.

Great pub, fab atmosphere! A must pit stop on your way back from Trent Bridge before heading to the train station.

Staff were nice to be fair. However having to share saliva via the serving pumps with everyone at the festival is little unsettling especially in these post Covid era. We were advised we had to purchase reusable cups to save the planet…. What about saving peoples health?

I would like to thank Castle Rock and Alexa for their excellent customer service. I got married at The Embankment (if you are looking at wedding venue's check it, best venue for everything) in October and my family enjoyed Preservation which they put on our our private bar so I ordered 2, 5l for my family for Christmas. Not known to them, I had since ordering broken my hand which made drive thru collection almost impossible. Without further they agreed to local delivery out which was out of time and at very short notice. I would like to thank Castle Rock for being very accommodating and in a very Christmas spirit.

Went to the beer festival on Friday night early evening. Plenty of bar staff and not long to get served. Unfortunately, the first three beers we asked for off the list were not available. Keg beers were numbered but casks were not. Staff seemed to be equally as confused as I was. On one occasion we were served an IPA mistaken for a stout. Might seem petty but considered the cost of the entry fee not a very good experience. Won't being going next year.

Amazing products from Castle Rock Brewery! I heard from a friend that during these trying times, the clever team were distilling old beer into gin, and as a gin fan, I had to try that! I popped into their site and saw their expansive gin range and ordered a bottle of their winter season gin. I received my confirmation and they explained as I was local, I could pick up. Once I got the gin, I tried it that night over ice and it was amazing. Warming, spiced and with a depth of flavour like I have never tried before! If, like me, you're trying to shop local this festive time, check out Castle Rock Brewery!

Nice & clean kids absolutely loved running around having fun. Nice set up my advice is purchase for a 2hour session as 1hour goes by way to fast. Food & drinks available. You can also book ahead of time & registration can be done online before arrival to avoid any long queues.

Our first visit to Planet Bounce and I was pleasantly surprised given some of the reviews that I’d read. The place was clean, well presented and the staff I encountered were helpful. My children enjoyed it but noted that ‘Rebound was better’. The only real issue was my youngest being punched by another child, but boys will be boys and the staff again were helpful and showed concern when I complained regarding this. It wasn’t particularly busy when we visited which was surprising given it was half term, so at peak times the experience may have been different.

I recently visited this wonderful place with my 6-year-old daughter and her friends, and we had an absolute blast! Booking tickets a day in advance was a smart move, especially considering the holiday crowds. I highly recommend opting for the one-hour booking option as it's not only cost-effective but also perfect considering how quickly kids get tired. The venue is impeccably clean and well-maintained, with lockers available for convenience and a cozy cafe for a quick refreshment break. Pro tip: pre-registering before arrival speeds up the check-in process, saving you valuable playtime. A definite must-visit for parents looking for a fun and safe environment for their little ones!

Arrived at 5:20pm on Monday 4th after checking the closing time, which was advertised as 7pm, only to be told that they’ve decided to close at 6pm instead. We brought 5 kids with us, all of whom were rightfully thoroughly disappointed. The last hour started at 5pm and we even requested for them to let the kids just have whatever time remained and we’ll pay full price but they refused that too. To top it all, we had to pay £4.50 for parking for absolutely nothing.

I had took my children there and they enjoyed it very much. Paid online & the price was cheaper than red kangaroo. It is slightly different. Free lockers is also a bonus. Downside: limited food or out of stock. Recommend buying a jug of juice instead of individual drinks.

Great place for kids. I needed something to keep my 5 year old daughter entertained during our time in Nottingham as statues and buildings weren't doing the trick. Silly me, I didn't realize we needed to book online ahead of time, but fortunately the gentleman at the front directed us to the website and we were able to book online without any issues. After that, my daughter had a blast jumping and climbing.

£12 each espresso martinis. Bartender didn't know how to make cocktails and kept reviewing a help-sheet: only put the ingredients in to make one then shared it between two glasses. Asked for manager who asked "have you had an espresso martini before?" then assured us this was correct. Been here before and always highly rated/recommended but certainly gone downhill. Would not recommend.

We did the Friday Night Bottomless Brunch to celebrate my 30th and we had an absolutely fantastic time! 🥂 This was one of, if not the best bottomless brunch I’ve done. The food and drink service was spot on. The servers were friendly, always on hand, and we didn’t have to ask to be served once, as we were constantly being supplied with food & drink. What made the night though was the entertainment from The Trent Sisters… wow, we have some memories to last a life time! 😳🤣 Thank you so much Das Kino for a night to remember. It's been a long time since this place was the Old Vic. First time we'd been here as we don't tend to visit this part of town too often. Very nice place indeed ! Pleasant staff, lovely, clean surroundings and a nice atmosphere. We only popped in for a 'swift half' to see what it was like - ended up staying a couple of hours and having fab pizzas there too! 2 for 1 pizzas at that (both have to be the same). Good selection of beers, ales and ciders(try the Berliner Pilsner!) and great food, I could have had 1 of everything! We'll be back, thanks guys!

Whether you're on a first date or hanging out with friends, the staff can recommend suitable games for you to enjoy. The venue also features escape rooms for those seeking a more challenging experience. Visitors can relax and spend their Sunday afternoons here while enjoying the extensive game collection.
There aren't enough words to describe how much we loved our first visit today. The atmosphere and staff are absolutely lovely and very welcoming. The layout is clear and spacious. The selection of games is insanely generous. The price of sitting at a table is very reasonable but the food and drinks aren't cheap. That said, given all of the perks from eating and drinking in such fantastic surroundings, it is so very much worth it! We will be back. A lot!

We called in here while spending the weekend in Nottingham and we enjoyed our time there. We found that the staff were very friendly and patient when explaining all the information about the place to us as first time visitors. There is a seated area which acts primarily as a cafe but with a handful of board games they can be played for free and this could be a nice option for a family killing time. Then there is a larger playing area behind this with a library of games to choose from and which you pay for your time there. We found the choice of games overwhelming as people who do not know too much board games. Perhaps it could be useful to have some suggestions for people? (Eg. Top 5 games based on reactions, top 5 co-op games, top 5 strategy, top 5 quick play). Once we'd chosen our games we didn't have much time to play it as Pandemic takes a while to learn and set up on your first go but we enjoyed it all the same. The food was reasonable for a quick snack, maybe a little overpriced for what it is, considering paninis didn't come with a salad just a few nachos. But a nice selection of cakes and teas to go with it. Also the place stayed open until 11 when we visited on Saturday so it's a great option for a night out if you're not looking to drink or dance and just want a place to have fun and conversation with friends. Be sure to make a bit of extra time to sign up and become a member if you're a first time visitor.

Positive points: Really impressed with the range of boardgames and the food quality they were in. Stayed for a couple hours on a Tuesday afternoon and played two games but we were spoilt for choice! The pizzas were really good and the range of drinks was good too. Negative points: Toilets were really grotty and the place was dusty and not very inviting from the front. Inside it's a bit corporate feeling and not very welcoming. Reserving the table involved downloading two different apps which is a lot of effort and might put some people off. The negative points definitely could be fixed easily by management. Don't let these put you off going though, all in all we enjoyed ourselves and would return.
Bekah — Google review
I'm not usually a fan of board games as I get bored quite easily but I really enjoyed my visit on a rainy afternoon. We played two games and I actually really enjoyed it. We also shared a pizza and had some lovely ice cream milkshakes. The games were in excellent condition and the venue was tidy and clean. Will be back again soon! We played Lost Cities and Fifth Avenue.
Georgina C — Google review
Unfortunately didn't have a great experience here. We've been to lots of board game cafés and were really looking forward to this one. Positives: -a great selection of games - so many! -layout was nice -ice cream shakes were great Negatives: - the main negative for us was the service. There was no one around to talk about the games or give us any recommendations, which is common in board game cafes. The one girl we saw wasn't particularly friendly. No one came to collect our empty glasses or plates (the whole 2 hours we were there) which meant we had them on a small table while trying to play games. In the end we took them back to the counter. No one cleared up any of the dirty tables around us, there were plates and glasses everywhere. - the toilets were disgusting (sanitary bins overflowing, water all over the floor, they smelt) -the food was very expensive for what it was and the pizzas were not very nice. Not cooked properly. We should have known not to order them seeing as the table next to us had barely eaten any of their pizzas! - games not organised very well - there was no reference system. For people who don't know much about board games, it could definitely be overwhelming. There were just too many games without any direction of which ones to play or any suggestions. Overall, we were disappointed with this board game café and won't be returning.
Matilda P — Google review
Been wanting to visit a board game cafe for a while with my partner and daughter. Having driven past Ludorati many time we decided to take the plunge and it was worth it, absolutely brilliant place. It was modern, spacious and had a great selection of games. We decided on the game of life and had such a great time. The staff were really nice and helpful and the milkshakes were first class. Great to spend the afternoon as a family.
Adriano R — Google review
First visit to the games cafe and loved the whole experience. Fantastic selection of games for all the family. Table service is a bit slow but it was a really busy day with lots of bookings and did not cause an issue. Ordered 3 pizzas for the family to share and as there is only one pizza oven it did take a while but we were advised at the time of booking so no problem. Good selection of hot, cold, alcoholic and milkshake drinks available. We had a large booking and all enjoyed it. Will definitely recommend and go again.
Anna D — Google review
As an American, I was visiting a friend in Nottingham, and we had a rainy day to fill. He suggested checking out the cafe, and when we sat down they explained the table rental period caps out at 4 hours. We laughed, there was no way we would be there that long! 6 hours later we left after our third game. The shop is clean and well organized with an open cafe, and the game selection is frankly amazing. From very old titles to new ones, well maintained, alphabetized, and across the spectrum of game times. Too often places that offer games with food have like... the dregs of the owners collection, plus like maybe 10 popular ones (Catan, Ticket to Ride, Small World, etc). The bits are mistreated, the boxes hard used, and no variety past whomsoever's taste that set things up. They do charge more for premium games - but if you consider how many pieces so big box games have - to do a checkover to confirm things are not missing is time consuming. I wish this was not 7 hours flight from home! Absolutely go visit.

Cave Escape Nottingham offers a unique and immersive escape room experience set within a subterranean cave system. The mesmerizing set designs, mind-bending puzzles, and plenty of twists and turns make it stand out from traditional escape rooms. The sandstone cave system adds to the atmosphere, but may pose challenges for those with mobility or balance issues. With friendly staff and enthusiastic themes, this escape room provides an exciting adventure for all participants.
I went as a part of a work event and it was so much fun. We tried their WWII room and it was so much fun. The theatre of the caves as well as the opportunity to dress up added to the experience. As someone who's not a massive war buff, I could still contribute as it wa more about the story and setting than necessarily the clues. Whilst it was definitely challenging it wasn't impossible and the staff are there to help when they can. Theyre very smart in how they implement the rules and restrictions by making it fun instead of scolding you when you make a mistake.

Loved the Carfax room and it was such a memorable experience! The whole escape game actually takes place down in a real cave system, which gives it a fun and spooky vibe. You move through different rooms as you go, with each space packed with clever puzzles, clues, and keys to figure out. Phoebe was our host and she was great—friendly and always ready with helpful hints when we were stumped. The three of us went in not really knowing what to expect and ended up having loads of fun. Absolutely worth checking out if you’re up for a night of teamwork and a unique setting.

Carfax: Really enjoyed it with a group of four. A mixture of clues with some shortcuts for appropriate background knowledge, or even just having a good look round. Helpful hints from ghostly voice when asked for, usually because we had not looked hard enough in some places (mansearching). Storyline, subject and room setups and equipment worked really well with some enjoyable surprises. Staff all very freindly, helpful and enthusiastic. Thoroughly recommend it.

We played Carfax, with Isobel hosting us. the room was fantastic, really great theming and natural progression of puzzles. we were able to spread around and contribute and not all be stuck watching one person solve a problem. our host was excellent at very gently guiding or supporting us if we'd done something right but got the alignment wrong.

Trent Bridge is a must-visit for sports enthusiasts, being one of the oldest cricket grounds globally. The electric atmosphere on match days is an experience not to be missed. Even non-cricket fans can appreciate the historic venue through available tours, offering a behind-the-scenes look. This marvel of construction connects Nottingham with West Bridgford over the river Trent and boasts a dual road.
Ignore the review by Saintie and the lovelocks photo on Ribinraj's. They are about the nearby suspension bridge, a few hundred yards upstream and indeed a very pleasant river crossing (for pedestrians only). Actual Trent Bridge has no 'lovelocks' on it (at present & long may that continue) and is very solid so definitely does not wobble if you jump up & down on it - or if you drive a tank over it, which thankfully doesn't happen often but who knows what the future holds? And I think the one by Mark AB is actually about the bridges over the Trent some distance upstream forming part of a dual-carriageway ring-road, Trent Bridge is one bridge with nearby remains of a predecessor that was built many years earlier. nb. 'remains' only - there is one single, single carriageway Trent Bridge. Trent Bridge - importantly an actual bridge, not a football stadium, cricket ground or pub but a busy & functional road bridge with adequate pedestrian path on both sides and underneath both ends. Where would we be without it?? Also, regarding what it says in one of the other reviews about the nearby pub being named after it, the pub was so named many, many years before it was purchased by a well-known chain! Finally (until I think of something else to add) it is, like the current railway bridge over the Tay at Dundee, not the original bearer of it's name & location and like the railway one mentioned it also has remains of the previous incarnation visible for all to admire (but only at the south end & only on foot, but you can touch and feel!)

Participants praise the positive encouragement and wealth of knowledge provided by Chris and Elaine, making it a highly recommended spot for anyone interested in trying their hand at pottery in Nottingham.
It was lovely to get back to classes today following the sadly enforced break. This is a wonderful, inclusive, supportive group that has helped myself and my daughter in law through some tough times. My pottery skills are improving! Losing Chris has been a really harsh blow, such a lovely, talented man. We are all with you Elaine xx

I booked onto a throwing course about 6+years ago, and it was brilliant. Elaine and Chris have such a wealth of knowledge and their studio is equipped to do anything you can hope to make with clay. I've been coming back to their classes weekly ever since, and even though I've now got my own wheel, I still pop in for a chit chat while I get inspiration from what other people are making. If you're thinking of trying pottery and you're in Nottingham, I couldn't recommend Hands on Pottery enough.

I hardly ever leave google reviews, but I thought I'd just pop this one in here. I was really looking forward to booking with these guys, having been given a gift voucher for my birthday. Working at antisocial hours meant that I first contacted them via email. After a few preliminary emails back and forth about booking a slot, I didn't receive any further response confirming my booking. I then emailed a few more times to see whether I could use the voucher, and received no response again. I tried calling a fair few times but no one answered, and I left a message on their Instagram account. Sadly, I wasn't able to go to the shop to enquire, as I live far away, and now my voucher has now expired. I'm quite sad about this as they clearly seem to do some amazing workshops and everyone seems to really enjoy them! I am probably just someone who slipped through the cracks, but I feel like this was quite an unprofessional way of managing enquiries. I'm sad to leave this review but I hope this really was just a one-off!

Reported to trading standards. I contacted Hands On Pottery on 9th November to enquire about booking onto one of their workshops. They confirmed that places were available and I paid £120 to secure a booking. They did not respond for over a week despite me contacting them multiple times to ask them to confirm the booking. When they replied, they said that the workshop was fully booked and they could offer a refund. I have now contacted them 4 times asking for the refund and providing my bank details. They have not issued any refund and are not responding. Hands On Pottery have now had my money for over 3.5 weeks and are non-responsive. I have reported the business to trading standards.

I booked a workshop with Elaine as part of a hen weekend for a group of 9. We had such a great time and Elaine was really nice and a great teacher. We all said afterwards we would love to do it again. We can’t wait to see our final pieces!

Ran by an excellent potter, facilitator and tutor Chris, this is a very friendly and welcoming environment to learn how to pot. He helps you as much as you need it, gives you lots of positive encouragement and is full of ideas to help your project along. I have been going for six months now and find it good because I work shifts and cannot commit to going every week. You only pay for each session you attend, not block booking and it is very reasonably priced at £4 per hour and then you pay for your finished products by their weight. I also find it very therapeutic to work with my hands and feel very relaxed at the end of each session; plus the added bonus of taking home something that I have created. You can choose to go either on Tuesday or Thursday evenings 6.30 - 8.30pm and there is the potential to join some of the day time sessions too.

Absolutely love this restaurant. Amazing food and cocktails at great prices. The friendly staff make all the difference too, not pushy but there when you need them Live band was fun too, great service at the bar and a fab atmosphere without being too noisy in the restaurant section. definitely recommended!

Lovely place. Went for a lunchtime tapas. Lovely food. Nice calamari, not over cooked. Good vegetarian choices too. Downed with a nice Chile Lime cocktail - not too sweet. Decor is so pretty and the staff were helpful.

Had the Salsa lesson - which was excellent! And hour of learning and dancing fun before drinks and dinner. The bar drinks were slow, as the bar is massive and only two staff working. I found the drinks to be a lot of ice and condiments and not much substance. The food (buffet tapas style) arrived in good time and was delicious all round! On the whole would be happy to return for the atmosphere, dancing and food.

A big thank you to Revolution de Cuba Nottingham, we visited 2 weeks ago. We mentioned that we had just got married and they went above and beyond and really looked after us. Our party of six all enjoyed delicious tapas. Cocktails, both alcoholic and non alcoholic were fantastic. Staff were friendly and attentive and we all had a fabulous time. Unfortunately we couldn't work out how to leave you a tip, with you being cashless and it was the first time we had used the app. How can we tip retrospectively? Thanks again, you made our special day even more special.

Pitcher & Piano Nottingham is a modern chain bar located in a converted church, making it one of the coolest bars in the area. Despite its non-independent status, it's a must-visit for its unique setting and spacious interior, perfect for after-work drinks or weekend pre-drinks with large groups. The Grade II-listed church provides a stunning backdrop for dining and drinking on their outdoor terrace, complete with stained glass windows and exposed brick archways.
We had a fab afternoon bottomless brunch! Jessica was a great host, kept us topped up with drinks throughout the time we were there. We paid a bit extra and we all had the steak, egg & chips and it was really good. We would definitely book again, great value for money!

This was my third time coming here on 28.07.2025 and this time I brought my family who flew in from overseas to the UK. We were all really looking forward to it. We arrived at reception at 6:30pm and waited about 10 minutes but no one came to seat us. In the end, we went up to the bartender and were told we had to find our own table — just like a food court. The table we found was dirty and hadn’t been cleared. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy, but there was only 1-2 waiter serving everyone. It took another 10 to 15 minutes just to place our order for drinks( 2 beer,2 cocktail & 2 coke), 5 starters, and 4 mains course. After waiting 30 minutes, we still didn’t have any drinks. We asked the same waitress who took our order — she went into the kitchen, then came back and told us the kitchen had lost our order and we’d have to order again. She promised us a free drink as an apology, but in the end, we didn’t get anything at all. Meanwhile, people queuing at the bar got their drinks straight away, while we waited nearly 50 minutes for ours — it was really unacceptable. It wasn’t just our table waiting — the nearby customers were all waiting too. Another 15 minutes later, our starters finally arrived, followed by the mains, but they still missed one of our dishes. When we asked the waiter again, he told us to wait, but after another 10 minutes with nothing happening, we just paid and left. We originally planned to order dessert, but we gave up because we didn’t know how much longer we’d have to wait. Honestly, it was a terrible experience. Despite the beautiful setting, the service was unbelievably bad. It completely wasted our precious time and ruined our evening. I’d rather go to Wetherspoons than ever come back here again.

History, Hues, and Hospitality: Sunday Lunch at Pitcher and Piano Nottingham Our Sunday lunch reservation at The Pitcher and Piano in Nottingham was an absolutely memorable experience, thanks primarily to its stunning and unique setting. Housed within the magnificent High Pavement Unitarian Chapel, this Grade II listed building—originally constructed in 1876—is far more than just a restaurant; it’s a living piece of Nottingham history. The architecture alone is worth the visit. It's truly breathtaking to dine beneath the soaring ceilings and surrounded by the retained grandeur of the former chapel. The conversion, which happened in 1998, brilliantly preserved key elements, giving the space an atmosphere that is simultaneously historic and modern. It makes for one of the most visually interesting and vibrant dining environments you could find in the city, perfectly blending its past as a place of worship and a lace museum with its present as a popular social hub. For a fun, tangible souvenir, we took advantage of the on-site photo booth. It’s a great way to remember your visit, costing £5 for four physical prints and including a digital download of your photos, making the unique backdrop part of your memory. Making the online reservation was smooth and efficient, and upon arrival, we were treated to excellent hospitality. Our experience was made particularly wonderful by Jess, who waited on us. Jess was attentive, professional, and added a warm, friendly touch to our meal, ensuring everything was perfectly taken care of. Great service combined with great surroundings elevates a simple lunch into an occasion. Overall, The Pitcher and Piano offers a truly unique destination for food and drinks. If you’re looking for delicious dining in a jaw-dropping location, this venue delivers on both history and quality service. Highly recommended!

Nice food and superb church setting. The ambiance was marvelous! There’s nothing to complain about except sometimes when you order and pay via the QR code, it may not go through. I didn’t encounter any problem but my friend did, so she had to go asking the staff to check if it was alright and ended up ordering and paying the analog way.

I had the pleasure of being served by Jess during my recent visit to pitcher and piano, and I just had to take a moment to share how exceptional she was. From the moment we were seated, Jess greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. She was attentive without being overbearing, checking in on us just the right amount to make sure we had everything we needed. you could tell she genuinely cared about making our experience great. Jess’s positive attitude and friendly demeanor truly elevated our brunch experience. It’s clear she takes pride in her work, and I appreciate how she went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable visit. If you’re lucky enough to be seated in her section, you’re in great hands. Highly recommend!

Very classy and stylish atmosphere with Jazz playing in the background. Came here for a friend's birthday. The wait for food was a little while as warned by staff but when the food arrived- it was worth it. The lamb was melt in your mouth and flavourful. The hells kitchen cheesecake for dessert was so light and creamy- absolutely beautiful. While the price is on the high end, the quality definitely reflects this. The service was also extremely pleasant, polite and pleasant. Especially the server Agnes, who went above and beyond to make our visit pleasant and went above and beyond to help us with our requests.

The ambience and service were absolutely superb! Our hostess and server, Julia, was incredibly accommodating and made sure everything went smoothly throughout our dining experience. It was my husband’s birthday, and the team made it extra special with thoughtful birthday cutouts on the table and a small slice of birthday cake — such a lovely touch! The only downside was the steak we ordered, which unfortunately turned out to be tough and chewy. We were quite disappointed, but Julia handled the situation exceptionally well. She immediately acknowledged our concern, apologized sincerely, and escalated it to her manager right away. We assured her it wasn’t her fault and truly appreciated her professionalism and attentiveness. Julia’s outstanding service really made a difference — if not for her, we would have left quite frustrated. Kudos to Julia for turning what could have been a disappointing experience into a memorable one!

Four of us dined. All had a great experience. I took off one star for the food as you can’t deduct a 1/2. Only because the cut of ribeye steak I got was just a bit less juicy (marbled) than I’m used to. It had however been cooked perfectly to order - medium rare. I’m happy to go back and see if I get a better cut next time. Everything else was great.

The Alchemist Nottingham, located in a gothic building on King Street, offers a luxurious bottomless brunch experience with signature cocktails and an internationally-inspired menu at an affordable price. The bartenders are known for their expertise in molecular mixology, creating drinks with meticulous attention to detail and adding a theatrical element to the night out. The extensive drinks menu and mysterious atmosphere make it more than just a bar experience.
I just had an incredible meal with friends! The food was absolutely spot-on—from the Spicy Chicken to the Katsu Curry, everything was tasty and well-presented. Sarah's service was lovely, making our experience even better. The cocktails were a highlight too, especially the Eureka Moment, which was perfectly theatre-served. Can't wait to come back!

Me and my boyfriend and I recently visited The Alchemist in Nottingham and had a really enjoyable time. The interior is super stylish and atmospheric, with a cool vibe that adds to the whole experience. The toilets were surprisingly nice too — clean and well-kept, which is always appreciated. We tried a variety of small plates; the food was okay overall — decent, but nothing that particularly stood out. However, the drinks menu made up for it. There was a great choice of cocktails, and many of them were really creative and fun to try. The staff were lovely as well — really attentive and friendly throughout our visit, which made the evening even better. We didn't take many pictures. I would definitely return in the future.

Maybe dependent on time of visit. I was 4 30 to 5 30. Atmosphere was comfortable, not buzzing but we changed seats twice. High chairs- feet dangling was uncomfy. Some individual seats too low then and some parts of leather couch sunken in! Only 2 staff at bar and no one took away dirty empties quick enough. Toilets are away n far. Disabled a bit closer than the gents n ladies! Barman also counted money wrong and was gonna over charge us! Menu looked cool but no beaker available for my Light bulb-which was the main reason why I wanted to order it, as it was on the menu pic outside! No service, we had to collect our own drinks even though there was a wait. Sunday platter offer looked great but we weren't hungry. Not sure if i would return, esp during the day but think night time visit might be more fun???

I can't recommend this place enough! The food and drinks were absolutely spot on – everything from the Prawn Lollipops to the Lobster Mac was top-notch. Sarah, our server, was a gem, super attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was just right, making it a perfect evening out. Can't wait to come back!
Kimberly S — Google review
I visited for a special occasion on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, and while the staff were courteous enough, the service lacked warmth or attentiveness. Unfortunately, the food did little to elevate the experience. The lobster mac & cheese was passable, though hardly memorable, and the £30 steak arrived looking uninspired, offering neither flavour nor finesse to justify its price. The cookies, sadly, were stale and disappointing. The only true highlight of the meal was the churros. They were crispy, indulgent, and by far the most enjoyable part of an otherwise underwhelming dining experience.
Swapnali B — Google review
Bottomless brunch was good and lots of different fun cocktails included which was great. Service was slow even though we pre-booked however it was a Saturday so have to take that into consideration. Good value for money in my opinion as cocktails here are usually quite expensive by themselves and they were reallt stong. Oyster shots were something different that I've not seen before, would reccomend for girls night!

I was impressed with this Alchemist, particularly the architecture of the building and the sociable seating at the bar. Sitting at the bar suited me and the American tourists who i was chatting to about Nottingham and other tourist spots.
Paul B — Google review
Underwhelming to be honest. Staff were really relaxed and unprofessional. Upon arrival we had to go up to the bar to ask for a table because they were just distracted and chatting behind the bar. They all looked pretty young and this is probably their student job, but come on, I know it’s a Sunday and they probably wanted to go home, but that did make our experience worse. They took ages to come take our order, my boyfriend had to go up to the bar to ask for someone to take our order and even so we were still told to wait. There were only a few tables with people only having drinks, and several members of staff floating about but none seemed to be available to take our order? Fajitas were ok, but nothing special. Chicken was a bit dry and the portion was quite small. There was barely no onions and peppers under the chicken, 🐓 and it was burnt and stuck to the hot plate. Had to scrape the burnt veg off to be able to eat it. And the bad customer service didn’t help. Also a side note, the music was quite loud and made it hard to talk.

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant
Alchemilla is a stylish British restaurant housed in a historic red-brick building that used to be a Victorian coach house. The establishment, led by renowned chef Alex Bond, has earned a Michelin star and gained recognition through appearances on popular TV cooking shows. Offering elevated dishes with a focus on seasonal and foraged ingredients, the restaurant presents five, seven, or ten-course tasting menus featuring options for vegans, pescatarians, and meat lovers.
We were here to celebrate a birthday and our anniversary. The 7 courses are really nice. All courses came in very rich flavour, which I could imagine not always the preference for everyone. But we really enjoyed. The only suggestion to the dishes is on the last course of truffle tart - the tart base was too far to be cut but knife or fork. It would be easier to handle if it goes a bit softer.

A Birthday Dinner to Remember! Had the best birthday dinner ever at Michelin-starred Alchemilla! If you’re dining here, definitely go for the wine pairings—they truly elevate the experience. Each wine was carefully selected to complement every course, and the moody atmosphere with gorgeous lighting made it even more special. The service was fantastic, and the food? Absolutely incredible. My partner said the duck was the best he’s ever had, and I was obsessed with the desserts and their perfectly matched wines. They truly lived up to their Michelin star! We’ll definitely be back—can’t wait for the next visit!

This was my husband’s birthday present. It was a 2 hour drive over and was worth every minute! 4.5 hours, 12 courses and 7 wines. Could not fault a single mouthful. Drinks on the terrace to start was a lovely touch. Dan has done an excellent job pairing the wines, I don’t usually like dessert wines but the last two were particularly beautiful. Fantastic atmosphere. Alex was really friendly and chatty and even brought us extra snacks because they were just so good! The mushroom dish was a stunning stand out in a delicious tasting menu. We’ve been to quite a few Michelin star restaurants and this was easily our favourite. Will definitely come again.

Our server Molly knew exactly what she was serving us and wow it was a lot to remember. The place has a wonderful charm and there is a beautiful roof terrace.

Absolutely THE best place for date night / celebration food. The team are amazing and the food was superb. There was one hiccup about whether we were having sweetbreads or not but this was the only mishap. The terrace was a great addition since we last visited.

Review for just the upstairs garden cocktail bar. Delicious drinks, great service, lovely atmosphere. Interesting intimate layout. The wooden outdoor furniture seems a bit weathered and could use sanding and treating.

Spent my birthday at Alchemilla — and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate. I’ve wanted to do the full tasting menu there for years and I’m glad I was able to make this occasion especially memorable. Started with a glass of Nyetimber Rosé on the terrace before heading inside for a tasting menu that was creative, intricate and full of bold, unexpected flavour. The menu included; 🦪 Oyster with Summer 2022 relish & buttermilk - Genuinely one of the best oysters I’ve ever had 🥔 Hash brown with truffle curd, chorizo jam & cured pork - This was also delicious 🦀 Chicken skin with brown crab & togarashi – a crispy, umami-rich punch The menu then unfolded beautifully across land, sea and forest: 🌱 Celeriac, sour butter & sour bread - We’re definitely team Celeriac (if you know, you know) 🦐 Langoustine, nam jim & fermented fennel 🍄 Mushroom, teriyaki & caramelised ham cream - This may have been my favourite course. The various types of mushroom created such an amazing blend of flavours and textures. 🐟 Trout, miso duck liver & fermented rhubarb 🔥 Sweetbread, lobster hot oil, ranch & umai caviar 🕊️ Pigeon, apricot, rose & merguez 🌲 Blackcurrant wood, pine & beetroot 🍓 Strawberry, sorrel, koji & black garlic The whole experience truly lived up to expectations and the full wine pairing ensured my pictures progressively got worse as the night went on but I can’t wait to hopefully go back again in the future and I highly recommend if you’ve wanted to go then do make the trip!

Our family party of six had a marvellous time at Alchemilla recently, celebrating my wife’s birthday and the beginning of her retirement. Rushcliffe Country Park, located in the serene village of Ruddington, offers a tranquil escape from city life. The park features over 5 miles of gentle trails winding through meadows, conservation areas, and landscaped spaces. Visitors can enjoy stunning views overlooking the lake and relax on unique seating like a swan-shaped wooden bench. Originally a wartime depot, the park now boasts an extensive playground with modern equipment for children up to 12 years old.
If they will be have a jet wash for muddy dogs that will be perfect park for my "not always golden" retriever. Very friendly park. Nice, polite people. Well-behaved dogs. Good education section. Sometimes part of the park is flooded, but the main part is accessible. Nice part with appels trees with old and local spices (very tasty;).

We love this country park! Parking isn't easy at peak times, but you can park on the road surrounding for free. Just make sure if you park in the car park you get a ticket - I've seen tickets wardens, and it's cheap! Lovely little cafe when you enter. Then a great sensory tour in the forest, our kids always stop and play here first. Down at the main park, loads of areas to play football, sandpit and a skate park...also recently found an amazing pump track! It's unreal! If your kid likes bikes, parks it perfect

The park is one of the best parks in Leicestershire. There is plenty to do for children, such as a sensory garden, a big play area with sandpits, slides and swings, and a skate park. It's a perfect place for a family day out in the sunny weather! Car park is chargeable and a bit small, but you can park on the road in a walking distance just before you get to the park. There are Caffè shop, a couple of ice cream vans during warm days, and next to play area there are 2 food trucks. If you love to spend time outdoors, close to the nature, then this is a perfect spot! Highly recommended!

We weren't holding out much hope for this museum as the entrance price was so cheap, but it is absolutely wonderful. The staff are so knowledgeable about all of the Nottingham brands on show, and are happy to answer any questions. Thank you to the volunteers who showed us around the museum, it was such an insightful visit, the stories you told and the knowledge you shared was incredibly fascinating and we learnt so much ! Highly recommended for a visit.

This museum has absolutely blown me away. A truly hidden gem of Nottingham. It gives you an accurate picture of where Nottingham is from, where it is at where the City is headed. It has got some very interesting collections and a range of Nottingham history of success. But most important of all are the volunteers who run the place. They are so warm and friendly, their knowledge of their subjects and their passion is moving. It's a shame we didn't have enough time to do more but will definitely be going back and cannot recommend it enough. The Victorian kitchen run special events where you might be able to test a Victorian dish so recommend scanning their website to see what's on before you visit.

Junkyard Bottle Shop & Pour House is a hidden gem located on Bridlesmith Walk in Nottingham, offering an impressive selection of craft beers from various breweries. The laid-back taproom and shop provide a casual atmosphere to enjoy the wide-ranging craft beers on tap.
Really cool place, great selection of, mainly Belgian, beers, lambics and ciders. Delicious food menu, the handheld section is especially good value for money. Lots of seating, outside, inside and upstairs.

Love Junkyard, being a regular spot we visit for beer. Visited 3rd Jan and decided to have some food there for the first time. Big mistake! We ordered a few small plates, but they forgot the chicken wings. We said we still wanted the wings so they cooked them and brought them out. They must have rushed them, as they were still raw in places! I know meat on the bone can be pink the closer to the bone it is, but there were bloody in places! Thankfully we noticed, spat out the first mouthful and left them. They didn’t smell good either!

Terrific, hidden gem of a craft beer bar. Carefully curated tap selection and a vast array of options in cans and bottles. Interior is tastefully minimalist. Friendly staff as well!
Sascha A — Google review
Easily one of the best places to drink in Nottingham city centre. Always a great range of beers on tap (at least 15) plus very well stocked fridges with some great beers from smaller breweries across Europe and beyond. Very friendly service from all staff who know their beers and happy to offer advice and a small taste before you order. Food is great and goes well with the drinks. Outside seating areas (front and rear) for warmer weather and a great atmosphere inside. Definitely worth visiting!

Great selection of Keg Beer and super friendly staff definitely worth a visit.

Update: stopped for a quick bite and a beer. We had 3 starters, the lamb kofta, artichoke and halloumi. All were delicious and what trio of food, I recommend trying all three together. I have upped the star rating to 5 now, as the food was delicious and the staff were great. Previous review: Nice spot. We had lovely vegetarian food, and there was a nice looking meaty options to. Always a great selection of beers, so plan plenty of time to try them all. I would definetely come back here.

Nice selection of craft beer and cocktails. Outdoor seating links through to Kilpin Beer Cafe.

Was recommended this place by a friend. A great shout. Great atmosphere tucked away in a little nook. Its through a small alley so you might have to pay close attention when finding it. Note for cider drinkers: They sell some in cans, but they have no cider options on tap, HOWEVER they do have fruity sours on tap which I'd say are even better. If you're a cider drinker like me and haven't tried a fruity sour before, go on, get one ere, I bet youll like it. Phwoar

The venue offers beer school experiences where participants can learn about the history and process of creating signature brews. We had a wonderful time at the Brewdog Nottingham as a family. We were met by 2 extremely helpful and friendly young men who helped my elderly parents with seating and explained the menu really well. We all had pizzas which were absolutely delicious and a flight of beers. Everything was fantastic, thank you. Laurence and his colleague were brilliant, they were A) Legendary B) Charming C) Worthy of a pint and D) ALL of the above!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🐾 🍻 We recently held our very first dachshund charity event at BrewDog Nottingham, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, the team made everything seamless and stress-free. A huge thank you to Jenn, the manager, for not only donating the space to us but also organising an incredible fundraiser of their own to support our charity—an amazing and generous surprise that truly meant the world to us. We also want to give a special shout-out to Joe and Cam, who were absolutely brilliant on the day. Their support, energy, and kindness helped make the event such a success. Our supporters had a fantastic time, and we’re so grateful to the entire BrewDog Nottingham team for helping us pull off such a memorable day. We can’t wait to come back! 🐾🍻

Great service from Joe, who had a wealth of knowledge about all the beers on offer. Joe was running the whole place solo (it was Sunday lunch time and fairly quiet) but still managed to accomplish everyone’s food and drinks orders, preparing and cooking our food himself whilst also engaging with all the customers that came in during our visit.

The Robin Hood Statue, located in Nottingham's Old Market Square, is a striking monument honoring the legendary figure of Robin Hood. Crafted by sculptor James Woodford and erected in 1952, the statue depicts Robin Hood in his classic attire with a bow and quiver of arrows. The iconic symbol attracts visitors from around the world to capture photos and learn about the mythical outlaw who robbed from the rich to give to the poor.
Such a nice place to visit! The Robin Hood Statue in Nottingham is not just a photo spot – it’s a little piece of history in a charming setting. The area around the statue is beautiful, with the old castle walls adding a magical touch. I had a great time there, especially reading about the legend and snapping a few photos. It’s perfect for a short stop, and the atmosphere is peaceful yet full of character. A great place to go whether you’re a history lover or just want a cool landmark to see!
Rahaf — Google review
This was a short weekend trip away with the wife, ostensibly to go 'Castling'. Nottingham Castle is now a museum showing Nottingham's history from the fabled Robin Hood to lace manufacturing and the Luddite rebellion. Week with a visit if you visit Nottingham.
Michal K — Google review
If you are in Nottingham, it's something you really have to do I guess. We were expecting a huge crowd to be there being school holidays, but no. Easy to get some good pics.
Geoff M — Google review
I visited the Robin Hood statue on Robin Hood’s Lawn, just outside Nottingham Castle, and it absolutely lives up to its reputation as one of the city’s most beloved landmarks. A must‑see in Nottingham: the Robin Hood statue outside the castle is photogenic, free to visit and brimming with local legend. Standing in 3D just like the county flag, it’s a fun stop even if it’s not museum‑level spectacle. Bow may look a bit worn from souvenir hunters, but it’s still iconic. Combine it with the castle visit and Old Market Square for a full dose of Nottingham history. The Robin Hood statue is a small but iconic Nottingham landmark, perfect for photos, steeped in folklore, and visible without paid entry. While not a grand attraction, it’s a symbolic focal point for both locals and visitors alike. A solid 4+ stars for heritage meets casual sightseeing.
Sreejith S — Google review
Seems like it shouldn't be classy but it is. Situated near the castle and right next to the castle gate with some great places to drink and eat nearby. Go along, get your picture taken, help others get their picture taken.
Trevor H — Google review
I grew up in Nottingham, and to be honest I find the Castle and Robin Hood statue very disappointing. Nothing really remains of the original Castle, so Robin Hood by the Castle walls is a little incongruous. That said, it's as much a part of wonderful Nottingham as the left lion, slab square or the Lace Market. Have a look, pose like Ussain Bolt for a photo, then stroll on to the Old Trip to Jerusalem.
Jonathan B — Google review
The statue of Robinhood is in the premises of Nottingham castle. Nottingham Castle offers a surprising mix of historical intrigue and contemporary experiences. Here's a breakdown to help you decide if it's the right destination for you: A Storied Past: Ducal Mansion: The castle itself isn't a typical medieval fortress. It's a Stuart Restoration-era mansion built on the grounds of a former Norman castle. This unique blend offers a glimpse into different architectural styles and eras. Robin Hood Connection: Nottingham's association with Robin Hood is undeniable, and the castle grounds even feature a Robin Hood experience (subject to change). Interactive Exhibits: While some find the historical exhibits lacking, the castle offers temporary exhibitions and interactive displays that can be engaging, especially for families.
Shailendra R — Google review
Nice stop off point to enjoy a drink and snack, while checking out the statues near the castle grounds entrance The statues have been repaired and well maintained, the location is quite friendly and with plenty of seats to rest tired legs, also not far from great eateries, pubs and the Victoria centre shopping centre

The Church of St Mary the Virgin is Nottingham's oldest religious foundation and one of the largest churches in England. The beautiful building was erected in the late 13th century and features intricate carvings and a gothic style. It is also listed as a Grade 1 historic building, testimony to its historical significance.
Beautiful church. Open to public and has toilets as well. Self guided tour here, go on a weekday and you will have church to your self. Massive windows with a different saint in each window in stained glass form. The church is big, like massive, makes you feel small and in awe that humans worked together with Gods fortitude to create such a beautiful work of art. Private chapel is secluded and beautiful. Exterior of church is wonderfuly cared for. Wish I could attend a service here at the height of its use. Will come back again to bask in awe.

A simply wonderful church in the city centre. Full of history and a lovely place to find a quiet spot to pray. We arrived at the end of the main Sunday service, sadly, but had a delightful chat with the new vicar. My family has long association with the church.

This is colourful window has 36 lights, much of it hidden by the reredos.

The most beautiful church in Nottingham, and a magnificent building that dates back to the early 15th century, but now bears the familiar Gothic Revival style of so many cathedrals in England. It's not as spectacular on the inside as many other large churches, but worth a visit when in town (Nottingham offers surprisingly few notable historical attractions). The painted glass windows are very nice indeed.

A nice church to visit with a bonus tour (free but can give a donation) where you are are able to climb to the top of the tower and see a great view of Nottingham from the top! Half way up you get to learn about the bells used in the church by some of the bell ringers - very interesting and a lot to learn - and even get to get right up and close to the bells and mechanisms. Wonderful highlight of a day in Nottingham
Charlotte W — Google review
Lovely church open to the public, not just for faith but as a community space. The recently gilded roof angels look amazing and the newly refurbished bells sound heavenly 😀

What an architecture, what a beauty and what a building this church is. The beauty and the details on this church will blow your mind even without knowing the historical dimension to this amazingly beautiful church. My only concern with the building is actually nothing to do with the building or church itself but the surrounding buildings which the council has allowed to swallow up this beautiful piece of art.

Great set of displays following the story of Robin hood. Set rooms for different aspects, and lots of info boards around the place. Kids will like it, but it is a bit simplistic for an adult group, and there are ALOT of stairs if you have mobility issues

This is an absolute MUST if you're visiting Nottingham. We stumbled upon it on our way from Nottingham castle and was welcomed by a gentleman with an uncanny resemblance to Little John. He had a world of knowledge and I was so pleased to find out that someone else out there knew who Michael Praed was. I had such an amazing time and learned so much.
River S — Google review
We were actually on the way to the Ducal House when I looked to my right and happened upon "The Robin Hood Experience". On entry we were greeted warmly by the outlaw himself and after a nice chat the offspring were given a task each to do and directions to our starting point. Set in an old three storey house and adorned with everything about the legend from artwork to pop culture references we went to the top room which was made into a medieval hovel where we were told a story. We visited several rooms that visit and heard from Friar Tuck, the evil Sheriff and then the outlaws themselves in a room made to look like a forest. I found this place absolutely charming and it was obvious that a lot of care, commitment and enthusiasm has gone into it. Yes, in this day and age of animatronics, VR and massive installations I could see some younger generations not quite understanding the work that went into this quirky diorama. It's just unfortunate that differently abled people won't be able to experience this alternative attraction but you can't blame that on the creators of what is, in my opinion, a great little bit of escapist joy.
Rudi B — Google review
I quite enjoyed the Robin Hood Experience, there really is a lot of stuff jammed in to a small space. I think I may have been a bit of a closet fan of Robin Hood, as it occurred to me that I had seen a lot of the shows / films mentioned on the info boards..! We took the two kids with us and they were both given some challenges to complete as we went through the rooms, with promise of a prize at the end. This kept them partly busy, albeit we needed to read and tell them what they needed to look for, and when they found it they wanted to move straight on.... The rooms are not big, and as other reviews have said, you wouldn't really want to be doing it in large groups as there just isn't the space. I felt it was perhaps priced a little wrong for the small people as it was only free if under 3, perhaps think this should be under 5. I think we was in there for just over an hour, and it was something a bit different. Wife wanted me to make sure that I wrote that it does have facilities (toilets) but perhaps don't expect too much in terms of the quality of the toilets!
Andrew C — Google review
A great and informative experience! Lots to do, plenty to see and to learn. I was very impressed with the efforts that went into the decorating and the activities.

Nice place to visit, but it's a bit overpriced for what is inside. We were greeted by very friendly staff and went for a journey through the building. There are a lot of plaques and printouts to read about the history of Robin Hood. Very educational and good for kids.

I loved this place as it is the passion of a true fan and historian. If you have kids it is a great place to go. There is even a dress up room with colouring. If you love the Robin Hood screen and television renditions it is great. They even have the original Hern the Hunted outfit from the original 1980s Robin Hood BBC series. Talk to the owner Robin.... he is an amazing person and very friendly.

A fantastic night of racing! Lovely and rather charming little flat course. Really nice and green venue, a general admission ticket lets you view the parade ring and gives access to trackside viewing at the finish line. Perfect amount of seating, bar wasn’t too busy and we were served quickly. Horses were happy and looked after superbly by their stable staff as per usual. Also interesting that it seems race goers can get up close with the weighing room too. Definitely worth the visit , I really enjoyed myself here and will be returning soon!

It's a smaller but good racecourse. Everything in easy reach, only 'seconds ' to walk from the parade ring to the stands. The best bit is that it's only £9 for entry.. It's a little hard to find if not a local , and used to the Nottingham roads. Possibly needs more direction on road signs??

Nice racecourse, good viewing of parade ring. The horses spent as much time in preparade and viewing of this isn't as easy. Family fun day had Quackers rhe duck greeting at the date and walking round during day. Nice touch for younger children along with bouncy castle. Tables outside near parade ring were taken early and all in sunshine. Good viewing of racecourse from grandstand albeit many posts can block views from higher up. Big screen shows all of race which is good for where you can't see far side. Nice panini and hot chocolate from tearoom under stand. Racecourse 20 for us as a family of 3.

Great location for a stroll, the day I visited had clear reflections of all the beautiful clouds in the water. Shortest walk around the reserve is 1.9 miles. It was busy with people at least every 10m and cyclists on the paths but that's to be expected for a Sunday. Had a great time white water rafting with a group of friends, haven’t done it before so was a bit apprehensive but it was lots of fun! We camped on the site, which is a decent 20 minute steady walk to the Lake for Paddle boarding and White water rafting. I recommend booking in advance as the place is really popular. The camp site is basic but has electric hook ups and there is a toilet and shower block, play park, shop, and loads of open spaces for kids to play. The watersports themselves were great, and decent value for the time we got. On the saturday we hired paddleboards and a kayak to keep us all entertained, it was great fun and a nice way to cool off in the heat! We hired a raft on the Sunday and I'd like to say a special mention to Sam the Instructor who was great! He kept us all entertained whilst teaching us how to be safe on the water. And overall he made the experience one to remember for the kids and the adults! Well done Sam, highly recommended! My daughter also had a go on the Sky Tykes trail which she loved, worth mentioning it’s attached to a cafe selling food & sweet treats, ice creams & waffles, and the odd lager & cider to cool off! Sam also provided knowledge of the wider area including a mention for the Poppy & Pint pub which we visited and also enjoyed! In all we had a really pleasant sunny weekend and I would recommend a visit.

I felt a little miss sold when booking the camping. Probably my lack of reading so willing to accept the camping isn't set in the park but a short walking distance away. However my main reason for 1 star is the toilet facilities on the campsite. I should have read the reviews and back everything they said. Very unkempt, grimy, someone had thrown up in a sink and it was here the entire 3 day stay. The toilets dont lock easily so I couldn't leave my children to use them on their own. Very disappointed. We won't be coming back.
Sarah S — Google review
Grounds kept well, shower and toilet blocks ok. Decent facilities. Pitches not clearly marked out though, so we had someone next to us overpaid a little, which meant we had to as they weren't around to speak to. We went after school summer holidays to ensure it wasn't too noisy, but had a few families with very young kids running around screaming late and very early next morning. Not the parks fault of course - fully on the parents - but would be reluctant to stay again because of that

The site itself is lovely. But it's unfortunately let down by a few points. The pitches first of all aren't clear. When we arrived, the people pitched next to us had parked on our pitch, due to the lack of zoning. We used the shop, which is quite expensive but exactly what you'd expect from a captive audience, but the woman running the shop was rude and clearly uninterested. The rules on keeping the noise down were not enforced, with the people next to us watching their television rather loudly until midnight both nights of our stay. The biggest issue we had however was the toilet and shower blocks. They aren't cleaned often enough, in fact I believe they are only cleaned once a day, and very badly at that. They absolutely stank, I'd hate to have been pitched near by as you can smell them as you're walking toward them. The site state they've recently refurbished the block, they haven't, they have simply added another block outside the existing block, which really needs totally refurbishing. It's a shame there were the issues with cleanliness, as the site itself is beautiful and really well located.

Very disappointed after our recent stay. The toilets and showers were filthy. It was evident that the toilets have not been cleaned for quite some time. Also there was no soap in any of the dispensers. We ended up having to go off site to find toilets as they were not up to human hygiene standards very disappointing.

Absolutely brilliant session white water rafting here today with my two teenage daughters. Highly recommend this activity, something really different for us and so much fun. The instructor (‘Sam’ - I think!) was fantastic so big thanks to him for making it such a success . He had a great way of getting the kids involved, got the adrenaline going but also feeling safe under his instruction - all came away buzzing! Thanks

British Rowing National centre. Lots of car parking, book in advance £7 all day. Food stalls, toilets, spectator seating. Quite exposed if it rains. Well organised event but watch out for boats and cycling coaches on the paths!

Cock & Hoop is a small bar located at the Lace Market Hotel that offers a wide selection of beers, including tap takeovers and canned options. The bar has a unique pricing strategy based on the strength of the beer, potentially offering good deals. It features brews from various breweries and Nottingham talents in its well-stocked fridge.
Compliments to Chef Cristina for a delicious afternoon tea. The best scone I’ve had, crisp on the outside, fluffy inside. The waiter (forgot name) was exceptional, keeping us topped up with drinks, and had THE shiniest shoes! Will definitely be back

Visited Sunday evening, whilest it's a nice pub with a good range of drinks . It was uncomfortable hot, not due to the weather it was a fault with the heating. On mentioned to staff they explained the fault, nothing done. I visited the ladies' toilets, only 1 available. Unfortunately, the sanitary bin was overflowing and positioned inches from the toilet, so with the heat, the smell was toxic in small space. Please see photos

Had the most amazing afternoon tea. The service from Carl was impeccable. He was attentive but not imposing, faultless. Pot of tea refreshed, glass topped up. Chef, Christine came & checked everything was ok. Beautiful scones & meringues were perfect. I honestly can’t fault anything. Thank you. We’ll be back again.

The vibes are immaculate in this place. One of my favourite watering holes in the whole city. Excellent service by Zak.

Came here with a friend because we both won free pizzas at the freshers fair, we ordered the mama mia pizzas and despite having vegan cheese they were delicious nice pizza dough and fresh toppings. We came in 10 mins before the kitchen closed ( fyi closes 4pm) and the staff were nice enough to make us pizzas still. They have VERY delicious mayonnaise here wow it's from sauce shop. The decor is really cool and the pub feels quaint and cosy. Could be a nice place to bring mates.

Putting this on here mainly to see if anyone else has experienced this. I have historically enjoyed the cock and hoop (I even stayed in the adjoining hotel before my wedding), but I’ve had two strange experiences recently. The last two times I have been here, I have asked for the daily deal advertised on multiple signs - the first was a pizza and pint deal in March, and the second was their wine Wednesday deal today. On both occasions, I was told that the deal was no longer running, despite the sign being outside (one of which would have had to have been actively put out that day). On the second occasion, I was told the deal had come to an end two weeks ago - in which case, why was the sign out? To further thicken the plot, their Instagram post exactly 2 weeks ago (the day I was told the deal had been cancelled) advertised wine Wednesday, with no indication that the deal was coming to an end. I find this baffling, and really damaging to my opinion of and trust in the pub. If you are not running a deal, that is fine, but you should make sure you are not advertising this deal. It may well be that I was just unlucky, but the repeated incidents makes it feel as if the deals are not real!

Charming place with great history, delicious local cask ales, ciders and beers. A must visit after your museum tour across the street. I had a wonderful chat with Ash and another bartender I unfortunately didn’t catch the name of. Both are super knowledgeable about the drinks on offer and about Notts history. Also met Alex, who was only on her second day working at the pub but she seemed to fit right in! I will definitely visit again!

Sunday roast was good, but we asked for medium rare beef, but it came cooked. Dessert was so good! Overall, everything was great. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Would come back.
