New American restaurant
New York Grill is an upscale restaurant in Tokyo, offering a NYC-inspired ambiance with stunning city views and live jazz music. Located on the 52nd floor of Park Hyatt, this venue provides a unique dining experience. The restaurant features an open kitchen and a glass wall that creates the illusion of a sheer drop-off, adding to its dramatic setting.
When in Tokyo, one must at least try the weekend brunch for once in this elegant room. Not just because it sits on the 52nd floor of the Park Hyatt Hotel, the food is also immaculately prepared with lots of options on the buffet line. You will be moved to another room where the musicians are performing for your dessert and drinks if preferred. Staffs are welcoming and friendly. Service wise, they might want to pay a little more attention. For my experience, my empty plate wasn’t clear after I return to my table. 9900¥ after tax per person is well worth the dining experience and the view (even on a rainy day)

Before renovation I came for the holiday lunch buffet. The plan was golden week only and included a glass of champagne. My first time came, it need some time to find out the restaurant. View gorgeous, food ok, presentation added much points. Everything was beautiful. Highly recommend baked ricotta cheese, cheesecake, Vanilla ice-cream, sourdough bread, and should have the Champagne. Services really good, but some dining corners were strange such as mine was just one step near the stairs, and the wash room was quite small for a 5 star Hotel. Other than that, the dining experience was great in a beautiful environment with beautiful food. It's worth for it. 2/5/24 JGW 🍽🍾

We decided to dine here on our last night in Tokyo after a 3 week honeymoon. We reserved for a 6:30pm reservation a week in advance so we could see the skyline from daylight to night. And the view did not disappoint! However, just before leaving our hotel we realised there is a dress code, it's on the website so we should have known, but we didn't have that formal clothes with us so we muddled something together. It's generally smart dress, with Japanese in mainly business wear. We decided to order from the a la carte menu (but there is a set menu too) with a birthday gift budget of $250. We both ordered starters and main courses. My husband had steak which bumped the price up. I had two glasses of wine and my husband had one. However, including service charge we actually ended up spending $300. Overall our food was nicely cooked and everything tasted nice, but we both found it a little too rich. My bigger issue was my glass of Riesling was far too sweet, almost sickly. I expect if I see a Riesling on the menu of an upscale restaurant it will be dry, especially a California Riesling- but maybe my mistake for ordering it. Our only other slightly odd issue is it felt weird having modern European food with a California wine list in Japan.

Top class restaurant with highly professional staff members. Lunch menu offers a buffet with an entree of your choice. Appetizers & dessert were so good as well. A must visit restaurant with one of the most amazing 360 views of Tokyo. Priceless experience.
J K — Google review
I’ve had lunch here twice now and the food was amazing! You get a appetizer buffet which was really delicious - there was a variety of food to choose from which was all really tasty. The main course was also really good (had steak). The flavor of all the food was amazing. To top that off they do complimentary message plates if you are celebrating something which was a pleasant surprise for the birthday boy. The cakes and ice cream were also really good! The service was amazing too. And the view is just incredible. I also liked that we moved to the lounge after finishing the main course where we could see more of Tokyo and eat sweets and have some tea. This is definitely worth a try.
Anouska K — Google review
Decided to make a reservation here for my birthday and loved the ambience. We were seated with one of the best seats in the house! The buffet style starters as well as dessert course were delicious to say the least. Give the key lime pie a try if you can! For the main course we opted for the chick pea curry and seafood pasta! Both were so tasty. Thank you for the perfect end to our Tokyo trip!

It can only be 5 stars. This was my third visit to this restaurant (lunch), each time has been amazing. It is upmarket for what I am used to and they really control your movements, maybe due to Covid restrictions or because we are uncultured savages, you have to follow the meal flow strictly and the staff are super attentive. The buffet is the absolute best. Every single thing is fantastic and delightful to the palate, I’d eaten 2 plates full before my main even arrived. I was tempted to grab the bowls of ricotta cheese and bacon and trough them down. Salmon is fantastic as are all of the sauces and dressings available. My main today was the American sirloin with mash and asparagus. It was ok, not the best steak I’ve had but pretty damn good, just the right size as well. In the future I’d get the fish or chicken again. After all that food…. desert time!!!! Back to the buffet for amazing cakes, ice cream, pastries and all goodies! The staff will offer tea or coffee with your desert and it’s good stuff. It’s on the 52nd floor and offers an amazing view of Tokyo. You really feel the special environment of this restaurant. Great for dates, get togethers, celebrations or any damn reason you can think of. Just go. Cost is just over 7000yen per person. That is 1000% worth it for the food, service, location, everything. I’d pay 7000 just for the buffet lol. Use the bathrooms at the top of the first elevator….. super fancy.

An amazing holiday lunch buffet and main on the 52nd floor. Amazing selections and flavors, with carefully selected sauces for each meat preparation. After your meal, move over to the lounge area for coffee and dessert. Be sure to try to ice cream station and the cheese cake with cherry sauce. The Grill is also amazing for dinner and drinks, but will save that for a separate post!

Yakiniku restaurant
Butcher shop
Meat dish restaurant
Rokkasen is a renowned yakiniku restaurant located just a short stroll from Shinjuku Station. It's a favorite among locals and tourists alike, offering an array of all-you-can-eat options featuring top-quality ingredients carefully selected by their skilled chefs.
Rokkasen is hands down one of the most unforgettable dining experiences I’ve had in Tokyo. Tucked into a sleek building just minutes from Shinjuku Station, this premium yakiniku and shabu-shabu buffet is a carnivore’s dream come true—especially if you’re a fan of melt-in-your-mouth wagyu beef. The quality of the meat is absolutely top-tier. Every slice of wagyu is marbled to perfection, rich with umami, and practically dissolves on your tongue. Whether you choose the grilled yakiniku style or the silky-smooth shabu-shabu, each bite is a masterclass in Japanese beef excellence. Their variety includes sirloin, ribeye, tongue, and even rare cuts you won’t find easily elsewhere—all unlimited. Service at Rokkasen is equally excepti

Visiting Japan and really wanted to let go and feast. Found Rokkasen online and was happy to see they were also running boiled snow crab ayce promotion as well. Highly suggest anyone going here to get, at minimum, the Tsuki ayce set, as it includes lobster and abalone as well. I think this set is the best value if you want ayce. Was also surprised it included all you can drink alcohol as well. The service was excellent here, very warm and welcoming. They are quick to bring food ordered from their iPad-like machine. Also quick to clear empty plates, the grilling surface and the waste bucket. You can also request semi private booths that are seperated by draw down blinds. Overall was very happy with the experience. The 2 hour dinning limit turned out to be just perfect for us, as we finished just in time. It didn't feel rushed or hurried.

The food here highest quality, very fresh. Of course come for the food, but I think the best thing about this place is the service they’re friendly welcoming and they’re just really happy that you’re here.
GEO S — Google review
Fabulous Yakiniku restaurant on the 10th floor with nice views and private booth spaces for dinner. All you can eat option is great for those travelers that walked 20,000 steps like us and they have immediate service via the iPad ordering system. For a large group of hungry mouths, this is an excellent choice!
David C — Google review
Rokkasen is genuinely the most amazing dining experience we've ever had. Me and my wife come here every time we're in Tokyo and this is by far the best AYCE yakiniku for both service and food quality. Most AYCE places will delay giving you more food if you eat a lot, but Rokkasen never skips a beat and comes with your order in 2 minutes every time without fail. They are also very kind and take a picture of you to remember your experience, it feels more personal than most restaurants. Food quality speaks for itself - ask you can eat wagyu, lobster, and crab all very fresh 🤯
Micah M — Google review
I had the chance to visit Rokkasen in Tokyo, a buffet restaurant that offers both yakiniku (grilled meat) and shabu-shabu. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the beef was top quality. One of my favorites was the crab — already perfectly prepared and so easy to enjoy. I ate so much of it! The buffet also comes with a wide variety of drinks to choose from, which was a great bonus. Overall, it was such a satisfying experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back again.
PREEN Z — Google review
I was recommended Rokkasen Honten by a family member and I have to say it definitely did not disappoint. The service was 10/10. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The meats, seafoods and vegetables quality was also 10/10. If you are looking for an all you can eat/all you can drink Yakiniku place in Shinjuku then I would definitely highly recommend Rokkasen Honten. It is well worth it for the price! Make sure you book!!
Daniel L — Google review
Heard so much about this place, so had to try. Not disappointed , we ordered the mid range ‘all you can eat’ option and was very happy with the quality. Service was also exceptional, order came almost immediately after we punched on their iPad. We booked the night before and managed to get a 6pm slot and when we arrived was offered a nice cosy ‘room’. Will come again !

Restaurant
Peter Luger Steak House Tokyo is an upscale steakhouse that originated in America over a century ago and has now made its mark in Tokyo. The restaurant offers perfectly prepared steaks with a crispy exterior and rich flavors, staying true to the original techniques. The elegant interior spans three stories, featuring private rooms on each floor for intimate dining experiences. While the ambiance exudes sophistication, it also incorporates modern elements for a unique atmosphere.
Love the decor if you can it’s better to dine at the dining hall than the bar Steak is really good The sauce is good too. You can buy the sauce home at the grocery store on the ground floor. Mix green salad is good thick cut bacon is good as well as the cheesecake. Service is excellent. The staff speaks really good English. The only thing I didn’t like was the french fries with it’s smaller not as thick cut
J S — Google review
I always wanted to try Peter Luger and being in Tokyo I got my chance, overall the experience was fantastic. From the initial walk in where the staff greeted us to guiding to the table, to the ordering of the food and plating everything went perfectly. Food wise we ordered the 28 day aged porterhouse for 3 and lamb chops, with slice tomato (and luger sauce) for appetizer, broccoli, cream spinach and french fries for sides. I would say the slide tomato is a must for tomato lovers, the quality combined with the luger sauce it very unique, then sides I would recommend the cream spinach and the broccoli. The steak itself was definitely cooked over open fire (pretty sure it was not Sous vide but purely over fire) the crust was thick and crunchy but yet the core was medium rare as requested, the meat was flavorful with a balance salt/pepper and moist and tender with a good texture, comparatively it was among the best steaks I've had. A bottle of wine starts around 10k yen, a decent bottle would set you back about 12 - 18k yen. Glass of wine would be around 1.4k towards 3k per glass. Decent one would be around 2k yen a glass. Our Aust Shiraz bottle was around 12k Special shout out to our server Joe who really ensured we were well taken care of, from the order to the serving of food he never missed a beat. He always ensured our wine glasses were topped up (literally eyes at the back of his head). At the end of the meal he even splashed out a set of gold luger chocolate coins which really fascinated my kids. Another shout out out to Beeky who really took care of my kids and made my kids feel at home with his light humor and warmth, really took special attention to make sure my youngest was alright as she needed as she is quite a picky eater. And also to all the staff we encountered, overall the nights experience could not have gone better. Cheers!
SChan — Google review
Slightly disappointed by the quality of beef. With a price tag of 20000 yen, I expected high quality T-bone, though the meat is not that tendered and taste just average. The service and atmosphere are top-notched. It is indeed a nice place to dine with your friends or partner.
Ka ( — Google review
I am currently in the toilet writing this comment. This is my fourth time since last night. I visited this restaurant last night. The food, wine, service, everything was perfect except for the appetizer shrimp. There were four shrimps on the plate. When I ate the first one, it was already staled and had a strange taste. The second one was a little better. When the staff came over to ask how the meal was, I told him the shrimp was a little bit weird and may be over frozen. He feels sorry and he didn’t know either. I continued to eat the third one. The third one was even more serious. There was even a broken shrimp shell on the shrimp. I just put down the last one and didn’t eat it. The staff just took it away normally without any comment. I think it is definitely not worth 4,000 yen. What’s worse, I think it is very likely that the shrimp caused me food poisoning. The only thing I am thankful for is that I have completed this journey and will fly back to Hong Kong today. Although there are some regrets at the end, it is still a pleasant journey. I will visit Tokyo again.
Wai C — Google review
If you love steak, Peter Luger is likely on your must-try list. I finally got the chance to visit the Tokyo branch —the only one that is outside the U.S. They serve only one type of steak: USDA T-Bone. You sit down and pick a portion size (for two, three, or four). It’s dry-aged in-house and served with melted butter, already seasoned—no extra sauces except for their tomato-based extra secret sauce. My take? It was good, would have wowed me when I was starting out on steak. The steak cooked unevenly—likely intentional since one side continues to cook in hot butter at the table, but that side ended up without the almighty crust. I liked the meal here but didn’t love it. It’s not bad, but honestly, I’ve had steaks I felt better and had more value for money somewhere else.
Hangry J — Google review
Tried the Tokyo outpost of Peter Luger and ordered the steak for three (ribeye). While the meat had good flavor, the outside was noticeably overcooked, which took away from the overall experience. For the price, the quality didn’t meet expectations. Service was professional, but in a city like Tokyo—home to exceptional local cuisine—it’s hard to justify spending this much on an underwhelming steak. You’re better off trying something local.
Farhad K — Google review
Went here for me and my bf's 3rd anniversary! It was our first time eating proper wetsern-style steak, it is indeed different than Japanese Wagyu beef. It's really delicious in its own way! The steak itself was already good even without the sauce. But the highlights of the experience was the service - outstanding! Shout out to Yuri, the young female staff who served us very politely and her smile is the brightest. We ordered too many stuff (oops) because we want to try as much as we can, but we struggled to finish them all. The staffs were so attentive, without us asking, they approached us first and told us that we can take away the remaining (not many restaurants in Japan does this). And they even recommend us to finish the steak first before the salad because, well, that's what you're here for. Overall, it made our anniversary dinner amazing!!
Lauren S — Google review
The food is great, the steak is super tender and juicy. The only thing I dislike about is the open kitchen environment so the smell might catch on your clothes.

Teppanyaki Sumiyaki Saito, conveniently located near Roppongi, offers a unique dining experience that stimulates all the senses. Despite its lively surroundings, the restaurant maintains a serene atmosphere. The menu showcases an array of seasonal appetizers, Japanese black beef such as chateaubriand, fresh seafood options, and delightful desserts. Guests can witness their meal being expertly prepared right before their eyes.
Get the Platinum menu for the best experience ever! Of course, the beef is top notch and cooked to perfection but the accompanying dishes, such as the amuse, foie gras, uni, lobster, dessert were absolutely Michelin-level and so delicious! We love the counter space giving us the chefs’ full attention. Arigato Chef Saito and chef for a most memorable meal. We will be back!

We had a great time here. The chef is the best. The food is amazing. My kids enjoyed the whole experience very much. We highly recommend this place who wants the most intimate and authentic teppanyaki in Tokyo.

I can’t recommend this place enough. My husband and I went here for our anniversary and everything was amazing; from the service, to the atmosphere, to the FOOD. Oh my gosh is the food divine. When we arrived (it can be tricky to find but it is to the right of Uohama on Imorai Zaka street down the first set of stairs on the side of the building, where you then take an elevator up to the sixth floor and step straight into the restaurant.) We were greeted immediately, and I don’t believe this happens every time, but we were able to pick our seats (even though we had reservations, which are highly recommended as the seating is limited) and chose the private room. We had the wagyu special and it came with a four course meal where we got to pick the Wagyu cut we wanted. The waitress was so kind and helped us know what menu options came with what (as they have course options as well as options of a la cart items). The food came very well seasoned, cooked, and prompt, with low wait times for each course; but not rushed to where we were stacking up on items. Everything was timed appropriately. We ended up having the restaurant to ourselves so I am not sure if any of this would be different during peak, but I would doubt it because of the professionalism and craft each person brings to this exquisite restaurant. We then were given our dessert and they dressed up our plate to my husband’s wishes, writing a sweet message out of chocolate on the plate. They were also very careful about his dairy allergy throughout, and put in substitutes when something couldn’t be served without dairy (this only happened once with this delicious cold cream broth that I had for one of my appetizers, which they switched for duck confit, also delicious.) Again, everything was cooked amazingly and we got to see the cuts of meat before they were cooked to make sure it was to our liking. They even brought us out to see the chef flambé them as you can see them cooking from the front of house. It was definitely on the pricier side but so, so worth it and I would definitely come here again for future special occasions in Tokyo.

Delicious wagyu here. It stands on it's own when it comes to flavor and does not need the extra toppings/sauces they provide. Small space; definitely meant for smaller parties. Staff were friendly and offered great service worth the price of the multi-course meal.

Amazing food, service and quality. Highly recommend this place! We were looking for a dinner place to celebrate our first trip to Japan and our daughter’s birthday. This place delivered. We tried the sirloin, tenderloin and chateaubriand. They ranged in increasing levels of tenderness. The food was superb. We got two tasting courses with unique appetizers - one was the Wagyu sampler with scallop and the other was anago with uni and crab. The kids loved the Wagyu nigiri. and added 300g of a 3rd meat. The dessert was so creamy for a sorbet and full of fresh fruit flavor. They also prepared a special dessert plate surprise for my daughter which was even better! Our server Hiroyuki (spelling?) was super attentive, kind and thoughtful. Highly recommend this place!

This is a very intimate setting with only a handful of counter seats and a table or two but the food was excellent. The A5 wagyu was like melt-in-your mouth butter, and with everything prepared in front of you, there's no time for scrolling on your phone. The staff was very accommodating and spoke very good English, able to explain some of the nuances of the various set menus. A great experience for my first time in Japan.
Benedict C — Google review
Had an amazing Wagyu experience here. The most tender cut of meat we ever had! The service was also really good, such nice polite and happy personnel. We sat by the bar and had a great view of the chefs cooking our food. Highly recommend ☺️

Food was amazing! We ordered the platinum anniversary, it was so much food! My wife and I struggled to get through all the courses so come hungry if you order this... I would give more stars if I could. The staff was all fantastic and spoke plenty of English for little conversation and very friendly.

Coffee shop

Cafe
Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo is a massive four-story structure located by the Meguro River, making it one of the largest Starbucks roasteries in the world. Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the building boasts a traditionally-inspired design with light-colored wood that creates an airy atmosphere. The top floor houses the roasting factory, while the third floor features the Arriviamo cocktail bar and the second floor hosts the Teavana tea room.
This Starbucks is one of the largest in the world, with four floors—each offering a unique concept. The highlight here is the in-house roastery, where you can watch the coffee roasting process. You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors, and the menu is extensive, with both coffee and non-coffee options, along with a wide selection of pastries. I ordered a cold brew, which was smooth, well-balanced, and delicious. My whole family really enjoyed the coffee, pastries, and the overall atmosphere. And don’t forget to check out the exclusive merchandise—available only at this location.

Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo – My Favorite One Yet. Having visited the Starbucks Reserves in New York, Milan, Seattle, and Chicago, I thought I’d seen it all, but Tokyo proved me wrong. Hands down, this one is my favorite. The moment you walk in, you’re hit with an overwhelming (in the best way) variety of drink options you won’t find at your typical Starbucks. From seasonal specials to craft coffee creations, everything feels elevated. And the food? Absolutely delicious—far beyond the standard pastries I’m used to back home. What really sets Tokyo apart is the layout. The roastery spans four beautifully designed floors, each with its own unique atmosphere and offerings, yet the signature Starbucks warmth and vibe is consistent throughout. It’s like exploring four cafés in one. Out of all the locations I’ve visited, this one struck the perfect balance between innovation and familiarity. Safe to say, Shanghai is now officially next on my Reserve Roastery tour.

Really cool experience! Several levels inside, each with their own unique offering. The bottom floor held the roastery, gift shop area, select pastries, and all the coffee/tea drinks along with the many different methods of brewing: Chemex, V60, siphon, etc. You can get a tasting flight to better understand the ways different brewing methods influence the final cup. Another level held the bulk of the Reserve specific pastries and baked food items. Yet another level was where you could purchase alcoholic beverages: wine, cocktails, and coffee liqueur drinks. It was fun checking it all out and I definitely recommend going to one at least once in your life; however, I certainly wouldn’t frequent this location or spend any time waiting for a drink here if you’re not planning on doing the full experience. The coffee, baked goods/sandwiches, and wine were all very good though! Hope this helps 🤗

This starbucks place is all over my tiktok fyp so we definitely have to try it. At first glance, the place is indeed large since it has 4th floors. The staff was really amazing. He even opened the door for us. And from an introvert pespective, I am so thankful. There's a lot of people, especially foreigners. The pastries were so delicious looking. The smell of coffees were also good. Since the place is vast, there's a lot of seat that you can take. We took the balcony since it is already cool outside. The pasties were indeed good and I also got cold brewed. The only downside was it was pretty pricey compare to other starbucks place. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Visited on a Saturday morning in September … no wait to get in. I do not typically drink Starbucks, but I do love quality coffee and read about this place after my last visit to Tokyo, so prioritized for this visit and am so glad I did. The building is amazing and I was fascinated by all the distinctive areas. I sat at the bar on the 3rd floor to enjoy a pistachio croissant and brûlée latte. Both were amazing!!! It was fun watching the baristas create the cocktails in front of me. I will actually return on future trips, the experience was that great.

We came there and stayed for 2 hours! It's the second biggest reserve starbucks in the world and the store as 4 floors - each one as different things. The coffee was great and we tried some unique flavor of coffee (black sesame and special coffee beans with ruby chocolate). We tried the Pastries and they were amazing!

I visited STARBUCKS RESERVE ROASTERY TOKYO with my friend on Saturday afternoon. I booked an admission ticket the day before — I didn’t know a ticket was required to enter! This Starbucks isn’t a standard one; it’s a special flagship store with an amazing atmosphere. We first found seats on the 4th floor, then went down to the 1st floor to order our drinks and sweets. The shop was very crowded, but once we got our seats, we could relax and enjoy our drinks, sweets, and a nice chat. We were also treated to complimentary fruit tea. The whole experience was amazing!
Mariko T — Google review
This is the second Reserve location I have been to, the other one being in Seattle. I thought the selection of food items was pretty good, but the coffee menu seemed more limited. Maybe this is because of the additional tea selection? I liked the multiple floors, but the seating downstairs by the main food and drink area is limited. I tried the tiramisu and it was delicious!! My husband and brother were both less satisfied about the food quality and expected better from a Reserve location

Niku no Ohyama is a popular no-frills steakhouse in Ueno, known for grilling various cuts of meat, serving croquettes, and offering ground Wagyu burgers. The menu is filled with a variety of meaty options to try. This small eatery and snack shop is famous for its minced-meat cakes, called menchi katsu, which are deep-fried to a crispy golden brown and can be enjoyed with a beer.
Came here in the secret food tour and had the popular croquette. Extemely crispy and flavorful. I like it more than the curry one. Unique and a must try if you're in the area!

We stopped in for one drink, it was delicious and great value for the price. I accidentally left a bag behind and the staff had very kindly put it away for me when I returned a few minutes later. I'm very grateful for both the value and the service provided here and am excited to come back and try food another day.
Harry L — Google review
I ate a croquette here. I find menchi katsu to be too meaty so just opted to eat a regular potato croquette. This is one of the BEST croquette I’ve eaten in Japan. Even better than the Hokkaido potato one I tried in Azabudai Hills market. It was soft and it wasn’t dry or overly oily. I would eat this any time.
Jocelin L — Google review
Amazing food for a reasonable price. The sizzling chicken set is only 950¥! Highly recommended!

It was a nice restaurant! We went at around 1600 and it wasn't too busy to sit inside and have our meal. After 1700 though, it got quite busy, so it's best to get there early. No English menu, and my Japanese isn't perfect, but I went with Japanese friends and had no issues. Croquettes were fresh and delicious, and so was everything else! Definitely worth the visit.

Curry Beef Croquettes (99Y) filled with spices, curry and potato. Beef Croquet (88Y) can taste more of the beef without the curry. Both are tasty. Noto Beef Dice (1990Y) has a nice texture to it, pretty good. Chicken Namban (1200Y) is nice too. Service is slow tonight. The Ameya alley is pretty touristy, this place seems local with good value.

A perfect place to grab a hot and steamy snack on a winter day! They offer various fried items that are ultra affordable. I had the beef and potato croquette, or the korroke and it was amazing. The beef and potato mixture was seasoned perfectly, not too overpowering. The outside crust was a panko crust and was so crispy and had a great crunch when you bit into it. It was freshly fried and was piping hot! They have a bar table near the counter so you can stand and eat, or you can get your snacks to go. A must visit!

Good selection of deep fried stuff and beef menus. The Menchi was nice. Tried it with the sauce, chilli and mustard. Also the hamburger and cured beef salad were delicious. One star deducted from that they allow smoking in the restaurant which is normal in Japan.

Ikinari Steak Shinjuku 2 Chome offers a unique dining experience with its stand-up and seated options, serving a variety of beef cuts including rib eye, tenderloin, sirloin, and chuck eye. The restaurant is known for its unmarinated high-quality beef. Unlike traditional Japanese dining experiences, the servers here are willing to recommend steak cooking styles and wine pairings.
Nice staff, server spoke English and was helpful with allergy questions. They accept credit card. I ordered the prime rib and wa tender. The soup was tasty and pure. They offer many dressings. The steak sauce is very good!! The angus steak had a good flavor.

One of our last meals here in Japan and it was the first meal when we arrived. Hands down some of the best steak I have ever had!! Must try the tenderloin!!
Audria G — Google review
My friends and I visited this Ikinari location on our last day of our two week trip, and now I wish we hit it sooner. The Wagyu steak was absolutely, insanely delicious and the chef who cooked it offered different ways to try it as we ate and was a really cool guy overall. Staff was friendly and attentive despite our very limited Japanese and prices were more than fair. If I could go back in time, I would have ate here more often for sure, and hopefully I get that chance in the future. To the staff, Arigato gozaimasu!!

Food was excellent! Quick service, meat was fresh! Got the wagu beef which was extremely fatty, but prime cut. Would recommend!

Wagyu was really good even without their house sauce. Not used to wearing a bib, but it helped with the splatter from the sizzling platter. Great service.

We ordered the wagyu rib eye and attached are photos of the chewy fat we had to cut off. When we called the chefs over, they said, “It was good. Listen to us.” This is a tourist trap. Do not eat here.

The beef quality is bad and the air quality is bad, too. I ordered the recommended Wanyu Japanese beef 300g which is 6,600 yen. Half of it is total fat in the photo. The whole place is full of grill smell.

One of the better places to visit while in Japan. The food was cooked exactly how you'd request it and all the staff have a great personality. The chef even gave us recommendations which made the experience even more comforting and interactive. I would 100% go there during a visit in the area.

Kaiseki restaurant
Ryotei restaurant
Kikunoi Akasaka is a renowned high-end restaurant in Tokyo, offering traditional Japanese kaiseki cuisine that changes with the seasons. The menu is based on Kyoto's multi-course dining style and focuses on using the finest seasonal ingredients. The restaurant blends ancient traditions with modern techniques to create visually stunning and soul-satisfying dishes. The ambiance reflects traditional Kyoto, with bamboo-lined paths and wooden decor. Guests can choose between chairs or tatami mats for seating.
Despite being in Tokyo, this place makes you feel like you’ve been transported to Kyoto. If you’re seated at the counter, you can enjoy a beautiful view of a garden, adding to the serene ambiance. The food is incredibly fresh and delicious, and they keep things exciting by changing the menu every month. A unique touch is getting to see the live fish before it’s prepared, showcasing their commitment to freshness. The staff are friendly and attentive, making the entire experience memorable.

We came here on 15 April . It was a unique, exceptional and luxurious experience having the lunch Kaiseki at Kikunoi. Everything looked delicate , numerous elements and each bite made you feel like you were in heaven. Staff were friendly , courteous and super knowledgeable. We were presented with the official Kikunoi cook book that detailed all the dishes from the 4 seasons. 2 Michelin stars in 2025. Felt very honored to have a chance to dine there. 😍😍😊😊
Sammi T — Google review
The service is completely off the charts. Chefs did an awesome job describing dishes in English (because I can’t speak Japanese) and that is worth it already. Food is amazing. All 8 courses we had were fantastic, unique and special. Things assambles and prepared like we hadn’t tried before. Those sweetfish were terrific. I wouldn’t miss it at all if I have a chance to book it again. Ooh and the salt lemon ice cream…
Julio A — Google review
We had an exquisite 8 course kaiseki lunch in a nice setting. Ingredients were very fresh and presentation exquisite. Taste was a bit subtle but varied and combined well.
BL L — Google review
It was the worst Michelin-starred restaurant that I have ever eaten so far. I seriously doubted the authenticity of all the positive comments. When I just entered the restaurant, there was a strong smell of burning charcoal which made me very uncomfortable. Fish should be grilled back in the kitchen rather than in front of guests. The appetiser was a crab jelly which was as salty as seawater. The cold-cut plate was poorly-presented. Taste was okay though. Sashimi was normal. Lobster sashimi was not matching with its miso sauce. The dried scallop inside the soup was very hard to bite. There was a sour green apricot in the soup which basically destroyed the taste of the soup. The grilled fishes were bitter, probably because the internal organs of the fish were not removed? The beef fillet of the main course was alright but the sauce was disastrous. It looked like curry but it tasted like mushroom and was way too thick in consistency and too much in volume. I didn’t even know what the green thing next to the beef was as the one serving us cannot speak English well. Grilled eel rice was great though. It was probably the best dish after-all. Dessert was a brown sugar ice-cream with some fresh fruits. It was soso. I can hardly believe it is a 2-starred Michelin restaurant given its mediocre taste, lack of creativity and yet very high cost. I would not recommend this restaurant people who have not tried a true starred restaurant before.
Tony C — Google review
Wow. What an experience. Get a reservation in advance, dress appropriately and come hungry. There is a lot of food and it is all amazing. This is a 12 course traditional Japanese Kaiseki and not at all just tasting menu portions. Each dish is complex and the whole ensemble is very very well thought out. Heavy courses are followed by light ones and the chefs explain each of the dishes in detail. The menu changes by season to infuse the ingredients that are in season. Definitely an experience that is worth trying. I look forward to coming back.

Amazing meal in a gorgeous dining room that faces the setting sun. The food had a wonderful refinement, which you do not always get for teppanyaki. Chef Ebi was just dabomb. Well worth a try!

Had the Chateaubriand of the beef and it is really tender. I specially like their sauce made with onion and apple juice. The fried rice and soup are also delicious. Appreciated the staff just letting me be quiet to enjoy each dish. At the end, they moved me to a window table for the dessert and to enjoy the night street view. Just one comment. It will be good if they can offer an option between fruit or a Japanese dessert.

Our hosts took us to this iconic Teppanyaki restaurant which had an adjacent lounge bar, where we enjoyed post dinner drinks with a live jazz band performance. We loved the curved Teppanyaki counter and were impressed with the care and attention the chefs took in preparing, cooking and presenting our dishes. The quality of the sirloin and filet mignon were some of the best we've ever had and wished we had room for more. Come just before sunset to enjoy the views and watch the city turn it's lights on, whilst you enjoy a delicious dinner with cocktails/beer/green tea.

This spot offers an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in Tokyo's high-end restaurant scene, boasting the highest number of Michelin-starred restaurants compared to any other city. Wow....simply WOW!. This is a once in a lifetime experience, and what an experience it is. The food is incredible, cooked in front of you by a real artist. The food itself was wonderful. A special treat saw us select the top menu and we weren't disappointed. I can highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed! The steak, lobster and seafood was fresh, and the garlic "crisps" the chef prepared were delicate yet perfect.
Stuart — Google review
Exquisite set dinner meals with a pretty large price range so suit most special occasions. While the food is quite delicious, the view is the real star of the restaurant with probably the best view of Tokyo Tower. The wine list is very extensive albeit quite expensive and the only shortfall of the restaurant is the service. For a high-end restaurant in Tokyo, the service is surprisingly mediocre and staff were not very attentive.

The steakhouse 37 Steakhouse & Bar is a great place to get authentic prime steak. They have a takeout menu with items like the Black Angus Beef Rib Steak Sandwich and 21 Day Aged Rib Steak Rice Bowls. The service can be improved, but overall it's an elegant restaurant with good meat. If you're looking for something special, try their Porterhouse Steak.
Food, ambience, service, was 5/5. The one thing that was difficult to find was the entrance door! I took the 21 Days Aged Black Angus Beef Rib Steak Course for 6900. By ordering this you’ll get assorted starters, all you can eat warm bread, soup, 200g angus beef rib steak with mashed potato, assorted desserts, and coffee or tea. The steak looks a little bit dry but it actually is not. The mashed potatoes was great too! Love that they gave 3 kinds of desserts! Brownie, tiramisu, and vanila ice cream.

Service was polite, attentive and friendly, they checked on us constantly and asked if the "taste" was ok. Altogether a good lunch. Highly recommend.

Hamburger steak, mashed potatoes. Great. A true 100g Hamburger with really good French fries (Pommes frites), cheese and the works. Hard to come by in Tokyo. Service and ambiance was good for lunch. Service is superb and you can see into the kitchen. I would have given 5 stars but there was no airflow, no fan or open window so it felt a bit stuffy. I’ll be back for sure.

Had the 4 course lunch here. The ratio of steak to mashed potatoes left something to be desired and there was too much sauce on the steak (good steak shouldn't need sauce!), but overall I was pleased. Not my first choice, but would come back.

"The Beef Master Private Shinjuku Main Store" is a popular spot known for its affordable A5-grade Kuroge Wagyu. The restaurant's strategy to keep prices low involves selecting high-quality beef and establishing their own delivery route. Located just a few minutes from Seibu Shinjuku Station, the interior of the store exudes a chic and relaxing atmosphere with completely private rooms that offer privacy and spaciousness.
Had an amazing time at this Japanese beef grill spot in Shinjuku! The vibe was just right—modern yet cozy, perfect for a great night out. The beef was incredible; every cut was so tender and packed with flavor. The staff were super friendly and really knew their stuff, helping us figure out the best way to grill each piece. We started with a fresh salad that looked almost too pretty to eat, but it tasted as good as it looked. Then came the main event: a variety of beef cuts, each one more delicious than the last. The beef tongue, seasoned simply with salt, was a real highlight—it was so good, we couldn't stop talking about it! They also served some awesome side dishes and pickles that went perfectly with the meat, balancing out the richness. The portions were generous, so it was great for sharing with friends. I can't recommend this place enough. Whether you're celebrating something special or just want a fantastic meal, this restaurant is a must-visit. Five stars for sure!

I had a really enjoyable meal here with the Takumi course. The meat was tender and packed with that irresistible aroma that makes me want to keep coming back. The course comes with fresh vegetables that come between the dishes. Perfect to reset the palate before the next big beef slice (yes, big slices) making each bite balanced and satisfying. The dining room felt comfortable and relaxed, with a chill, dim vibe that’s still practical thanks to a couple of bright bulbs hanging overhead. There’s also a big slab of salt for anyone who likes their meat a bit saltier. Very nice touch that lets you adjust the flavor exactly how you want. And my favourite, the beef tongue 😚👌 it’s chewy in the best way, deeply aromatic, and absolutely delicious. Definitely worth a visit!

I had the course menu here, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The meat was absolutely delicious and very fulfilling, each cut was premium, with beautiful marbling that made every bite rich and tender. From the wagyu seared raw meat with caviar and pickles to the Kagoshima Black Beef Yakisuki, every dish was carefully prepared and full of flavor. The variety was also impressive, especially the wagyu beef palette with different cuts, which really showcased the quality of the meat. Even the sides, like the farmer’s salad and the original potato salad with roasted beef, added balance to the meal without taking away from the star, the beef itself. On top of that, the free-flow drinks were the perfect complement to the course, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, this was a truly satisfying meal, both in quality and quantity. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy premium wagyu in a well-thought-out course menu.

I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a passion for meat, as it truly distinguishes itself as one of Tokyo’s premier dining destinations for meat lovers. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in an extraordinary meal, this restaurant is sure to impress.

I visited Yakiniku in Shinjuku and it was an amazing experience! We chose the ¥10000 and drink course, which was a fantastic value. The quality of the meat was top-notch, especially the Wagyu beef. It was so tender and rich that it simply melted in our mouths The service was a huge plus. The staff were very quick and friendly, always ready to refill our drinks or change the grill without us even having to ask. They made the entire dining experience smooth and enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively and perfect for a group meal. While the price is on the higher side, it's totally justified by the amazing quality and generous portions. If you're looking for a memorable yakiniku dinner in Tokyo, this is the place to go. We left feeling completely satisfied and already planning our next visit. A truly 5-star experience!

I had a great time with my family & friends. We ordered a set menu. The beef quality was very good, I didn't have to chew much to eat it!. I also enjoyed the set meal from the appetizer till the end. The appetizer looks so cute. Consist of scallop, prawn and a bit of caviar, taste so delicious. After that we enjoyed a series of beef. The thick tongue, misuji beef & zabuton were the best in my opinion. The location of this restaurant was easy to find. Right in the middle of Shinjuku area. Surely comeback...!!. I highly recommend this place.

Dinner here was such a treat from start to finish. The course kicked off with an appetizer that totally stole the show, fresh seafood and silky wagyu yukhoe jelly layered with crisp pickles, plus a little spoonful of uni on top for that rich, ocean-y kick. It's one of those bites that makes you stop and go, "wow, okay, this night's gonna be good." Then came the main event: gorgeous, marbled cuts of beef you grill right at the table, each one meltingly tender and packed with flavor. I went for the drink flow add-on, which was absolutely worth it. we ordered glass after glass of shochu and super refreshing ginger highballs, where i got a bit topsy at the end! Between the amazing meat, the fun DIY grilling, and those bottomless drinks, the whole vibe was relaxed and lively. Perfect spot if you want top-notch yakiniku and a night that just keeps getting better.

Each dish was beautifully presented, and the service was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and professional. One of the highlights is that the meat is served raw and you grill it yourself on a personal tabletop grill, which makes the whole experience fun and interactive. Highly recommended for anyone who loves great meat and wants to enjoy authentic Japanese yakiniku in a warm, welcoming atmosphere!

We went to the restaurant at 7:30pm on Monday and didn’t have to wait. English menu for ordering via tablet made it easy for tourists. The beef was good with reasonable price considering its location in Shinjuku.

Great food and service at Yakiniku, first experience of Japanese BBQ while visiting the country, and the wagyu beef was excellent; my 3 young children loved it and even helped to bbq the meat! The restaurant itself isn't big but it was busy all the time, which just means this place is super popular. Thank you for a lovely experience with great food!

We arrived without a reservation and the staff prepared a table for us very quick. The food was delicious and all the side dishes were amazing. Honourable mention for the garlic fried rice and the pork belly !!

We had an amazing experience at this yakiniku restaurant! Everything was on point—from the quality of the meat to the overall dining atmosphere. The food was delicious and definitely great value for money. What really stood out was the service: the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a satisfying and memorable yakiniku meal!

Had a great experience overall! The ordering system was super simple and translated in English, which was very convenient. We did the platinum course and received a variety of cuts with very good marbling. It felt like good value. Warning: do not eat the frozen peach at the end :)

HENRY'S BURGER Daikanyama is a small fast food spot that focuses on serving American-style burgers made from high-quality Wagyu beef. The menu is simple, offering single, double, and triple hamburger options. The restaurant is managed by the same team behind Sumibi Yakiniku Nakahara, ensuring a deep commitment to quality meat. Using ground Kuroge wagyu, the burgers are known for their juiciness and tenderness compared to typical Angus beef burgers.
Henry’s is the best burger I’ve had in Tokyo. It’s better than other burgers you might find in a, say, shack for example. Cooked smash-style, just how I like it, with a little bit of well-done ends, it’s utterly delicious, especially the Wagyu. The Waton burger has too much stuff on it for me. The fries are crispy and thin (you can choose between thin and thicker diner-style steak fries) and the presentation is excellent. Apparently there are a few Henry’s around so I’ll be in the lookout wherever I go.

I went to 5 or 6 different burger restaurants in Tokyo, and this was easily the best one! The staff spoke limited English and the space was small, but I was provided friendly service and still found a place to sit, and only had to wait a few minutes before my meal was ready. I didn’t know the burger was wagyu beef at the time, but I certainly believe it! The ingredients and seasoning were delicious. The smash burger was juicy and full of flavor! I think it had a better quality and taste than most Western fast food. I also couldn’t stop eating the fries, and the drink was refreshing. If they added milkshakes to the menu, I would call this the perfect American style burger restaurant, but even without them, you should go here for a great, quick bite to eat!

Not generally a burger fan, but had tried lots over my time. This one I think beats them all. As someone said - so simple but perfect. I opted for a single patty, it was was perfect size, easy to eat. Lots of smokey flavors, bun is on another level too. I am coming back here soon!

A great place to get a good smash burger! It's juicy, it's greasy, it's flavorful, what's not to love? You should be prepared for a wait, and I'd recommend to just get take out as the dining area only seats around 8 people. The prices are at a bit of a premium but the quality does make up for it. I came during off peak hours and there still was a line to dine in. There is some seats outside as well but if it's hot or cold out, you don't really want to sit down outside. I ordered a Double Wagyu Burger set. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about how good this burger would be. I've seen reviews and I've had several burgers around Japan that seem to miss the mark. Not this one though. It is definitely a classic smash burger made with high quality Japanese ingredients. I'm left scratching my head reading about how people are complaining about what this is. It's tender but with bits of bite due to the char and well-done bits. Juicy and greasy as hell but with tons of flavor. The only thing that stings a little is the price, but I knew it was going to be at a slight premium before ordering. Even the "set" up-charge is a bit high. I wouldn't even bother with getting the set next time around. While the shoestring fries were pretty good, they are still the standard issue Mc D clone variety. I ended up getting the Iced Coffee for my drink, which was also standard issue Japan Coffee but would need it because this food will put you to sleep. 😆 If you like smash style burgers, Henry's Burger should be an easy choice. It's made classic-ly with high quality Japanese ingredients. Simple yet very satisfying. Just be aware of the premium price point and possible wait for seating.

This is supposed to be one of the best burgers in Tokyo, so when I walked by, I had to give it a try. It was definitely a good burger, but don't expect it to be Earth shattering. The bun is great. It's super soft, so that there's no resistance as you bite, and it smooshes in your hand like a commercial potato bun. But it doesn't taste like it's made of chemicals in a factory. It tastes like real bread. The burger itself is a wagyu smashed burger, and you can taste the quality of the beef. The tallow is plentiful and the lacy beef edges are crisp and flavorful. All surface area that came in contact with the griddle tastes like a beefy cracker. Then, it's chewy, juicy, and tender inside. Great patties. I think they'd be even better with more salt and pepper...but I'm not complaining. I ordered a double patty with cheese, and along with their burger sauce, the cheese created a flavorful, gooey coating that dripped just enough from the sandwich. Not enough to make a mess, but enough to make me worry about making a mess. Ultimately, it's a fast food style burger, but with way higher quality ingredients than normal. It's priced like food in the US, rather than Tokyo, so even though it's still reasonable for what you get, it felt like an especially indulgent lunch. Bottom line: if you want a classic burger, give it a taste. It delivers. But if you're looking for one of those incredible mind-blowing Tokyo food experiences, this just missed the mark.

One of the best cheese burgers I’ve had in Tokyo. Flavorful, juicy, and just the right size. The onion rings might have even been better than the burger. (Seriously, get the onion rings!)
Sean G — Google review
This burger was average. It is an example of a big fish in a tiny pond. Standard smashed burger with overpowering sauce and the most undercooked wedges I have ever had… which is sadly normal for Japan.

Solo Eating After discovering Henry's Burger from Chris Broad of Abroad in Japan YT channel as it's apparently his favourite burger restaurant in all of Japan, I decided to give it a try. Henry's Burger has 3 locations in Japan, all are in Tokyo. Harajuku, Daikanyama & Jiyūgaoka. I ate at the Daikanyama location which is very small, only having 4 seats indoors and 2 outdoors. You order the burger, pick the size, meat, and if you wanna make it a combo/set meal. The cashier spoke fluent English so easy to order if you don't speak Japanese. Henry's Burger is one of the few restaurants that doesn't accept cash which I didn't mind. You can pay using a credit card or IC Card. Once ordered, it only took a couple of minutes before I got served my meal. It was one of the best burgers I ever had and left me hungry for more. The fries were fresh and crispy. Highly recommend going to Henry's Burger.

Meat dish restaurant
Oniku Karyu is a restaurant that takes its name from a Zen saying about beauty and is the brainchild of Chef Katayanagi Haruka. The chef's dedication to showcasing the true beauty of wagyu beef is evident in the carefully curated A4- and A5-grade kuroge wagyu sourced from top suppliers across Japan. These premium cuts are presented in kaiseki-style course menus featuring luxurious seasonal ingredients.
This was our first Michelin Star experience in our lives and I can say it was an experience of a lifetime. The staff (especially Jenie) was so educated on everything from the dishware to the regions of Tokyo where the truffles were harvested and we were very impressed. The chef has been in business for 17 years and you could believe it his his life passion. He was so happy to have us and we took pictures with him at the end. I hope to be back one day. Absolutely stellar experience.

Very nice restaurant to visit. The staff is really polite and introduces every meal to you. After a warm welcome by the chef we were amazed with several dishes. All dishes had beef as the main karakter except for the dessert, which was a strawberry dish with home made ice-cream. Incredible and very tasty experience.

It was a splendid experience. Me and my husband have digesting problems so we kindly asked the chef to prepare us well done meat if possible, he did it wonderfully. Even prepared a totally different meal to exchange the beef tartar. We appreciated the gesture so much and enjoyed the meal. One of the best michellin experiences ever. Thank you so much.

Michelin star perfection from start to finish. Oniku Karyu delivered the best meal of my life—every course was executed with such precision, balance, and artistry that it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The flavors were bold yet refined, each dish telling its own story while still flowing seamlessly into the next. What truly elevated the evening was Chef Haruka-san himself. His passion, creativity, and warmth were evident in every interaction, and his dishes exploded past even my highest expectations. It wasn’t just dining; it was a masterclass in hospitality and craftsmanship. The service was flawless—attentive without ever being intrusive—and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance of elegance and comfort. From the moment we arrived to the final course, everything was seamless, thoughtful, and deeply memorable. Oniku Karyu isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience that redefines fine dining. If you are fortunate enough to visit, prepare to be amazed.

Dining at Oniku Karyu was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Chef Haruka-san was incredibly warm and personal, taking the time to explain each dish, the ingredients, and even the rich history behind the exquisite Wagyu we were served. His attention to detail and passion for his craft truly elevated the evening and made my birthday celebration feel incredibly special. The staff were equally attentive and gracious, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere throughout the night. The restaurant itself has an intimate and elegant setting, perfect for savoring each moment and each bite. Every course was masterfully prepared, and the wine pairing complemented the flavors beautifully — each sip enhancing the depth and character of the dishes. The Wagyu was, without question, the best quality meat I’ve ever tasted — tender, rich, and presented with artistry and care. Oniku Karyu is a true gem, a place I will return to every time I visit Japan. Highly recommended for anyone who values exceptional food, craftsmanship, and genuine hospitality.

What a wonderful experience me and my best friend had at Oniku Karyu! Everything from the food, to the service, to the ambience was exceptional. A real treat to be able to dine here. Our favorite dishes of Sept 2025 were the beef sandwich (their specialty) and the slightly grilled meat piece with salt, wasabi, and ginkgo nuts. What made this meal extra special was the staff. The chef, Haruka Katanyangi, was so kind. And the servers and sous chefs (one named Ryu (may have misspelled his name) were fun and lively. Thank you for having us!

My experience at this outstanding restaurant in Japan surpassed every expectation. The beef, a highlight of the meal, was exceptionally tender and succulent, practically melting in the mouth with every bite. However, it wasn't just the beef that left a lasting impression; each dish presented was a delightful surprise, exceeding what I had imagined in both taste and presentation. The chef, alongside their crew, welcomed us with warmth and kindness, contributing to an special atmosphere. The level of service and hospitality encountered here is unparalleled, certainly a rarity, if not completely absent, in my experiences across the U.S. This establishment isn't just a restaurant; it's a testament to culinary excellence and gracious hosting. Without a doubt, it stands as the best dining experience I've ever had.

The Chef’s personality, kind staff and unbelievable food made this unforgettable. Thank you for a wonderful once in a lifetime experience.

The eel used in their signature dish comes from designated farms, ensuring high quality and specific cultivation standards. When dining at Ishibashi, be prepared to wait as the cooking process begins upon your arrival. Ishibashi is the definition of Tokyo’s classical sukiyaki experience. From the moment you step into the historic setting, everything feels timeless. The wagyu was melt-in-your-mouth tender, cooked with precision and grace right at the table. Service was warm, dignified, and deeply rooted in tradition.

By far our favorite experience of our trip. You step off the street and into the building that has been frozen in time. You are shown your private room and have your food cooked to perfection right in front of you. The amount of care and precision applied at everything your hostess does is just amazing. What an experience that I cannot recommend highly enough.

I cannot believe there are no reviews for this place! I was looking for a place to eat Wagyu when I came across this restaurant- the oldest sukiyaki restaurant in Tokyo. It had been open since 1870s and is still owned by the same family. The building has a timeless feel to it. They do not have a website. We made reservations a few months in advance via our Tokyo hotel. The food is cooked for you and every single bite was an explosion of flavor in your mouth. I have never had such delicious sukiyaki. The balance of sauce and Wagyu and vegetables was perfect. The quality of beef was excellent but I really feel that the way it was cooked to perfection made all of the difference. The set meal (lean or marbled) is not cheap but worth every penny. I would absolutely come back again.

Pros: -Service was good and the staff were friendly. -Loved the vintage ambiance—very charming and nostalgic. Cons: -The price doesn’t quite match the portion size(very little); we expected a bit more for what we paid. -One of the staff who served us was having the flu and wasn’t wearing a mask. She was involved in the cooking process as well, which was quite surprising—especially considering the usual high standards of Japanese service.

We had a great sukiyaki dining experience at Ishibashi restaurant. The staff's warm welcome and accommodating nature added a personal touch to the experience. The sukiyaki itself was outstanding with each dish cooked to perfection by the skilled staff - very fresh and juicy! It was a memorable evening that showcased the restaurant's commitment to delivering a top-notch dining experience.

Had a wonderful dinner experience at Ishibashi with my wife. It was our first dinner in Tokyo and one of the most memorable of our trip to Japan. Admittedly the restaurant is not very easy to make reservations for if you're not Japanese, but we were able to have our hotel concierge call for us in advance to book our dinner. Your only options for dinner are to pick whether you want lean or marbled beef. We got one of each but they're both pretty marbled as you can tell from the pictures. The meal comes with a small salad and appetizer, pickled vegetables, an egg and rice dish, and fruits. The meat is cooked slowly and a member of the restaurant staff is with you the entire meal to cook. The meat is very rich and served with a raw egg and shoyu sauce (I think). You will have more than enough food and my wife was not able to eat her portion of the egg and rice. The entire dinner was memorable. We were taken upstairs to a private dining room with tatami mat flooring, which we did not expect. The building itself is very historic and it feels like you are transported to a time in the past. The staff member that was with us for our meal, Haru, cooked our food perfectly and tried her best to answer our questions despite the language barrier. She took great care of us and made our experience extra special! She even wrote us a kind note before we left. Thank you so much!

One Michelin star sukiyaki in Tokyo. To me what differentiate them from other fancy sukiyaki restaurants is size and quality of the wagyu. The beef is so beautiful and photogenic!! The staff will take care every step of preparing and serving which it’s much less fun than usual sukiyaki meal LOL. At the end they will serve the rice cooked with egg that my stomach can’t deal with that big portion of carb.

Takashimaya is a renowned department store located in various cities in Japan, such as Shinjuku and Yokohama. In Shinjuku, the Takashimaya Times Square houses a fantastic kids floor on the 9th level, offering amenities like a baby rest area, toy stores, a kids hair salon, and a mom-and-kids-friendly cafe. The store also features high-end brands alongside popular and affordable ones like Disney and Kinokuniya Books.
Strolling through the floor with the desserts and treats is like visiting a dessert museum. 🤤 Every item is a beautiful work of art that doesn’t seem like real food, but always end up tasting as good as it looks. There are so many shops. It’s hard to pick favorites. Each purchase is treated and packaged with care. Come here to buy gifts, treating yourself, or even just a feast your eyes. We loved this department store. The staff was beyond polite, selection on each floor was incredible, it reminded us of the large multi-level stores in Paris. Cosmetics, shoes galore, museum quality jewelry (stunning) and the clothing!!! I could go on for days! We ended up in the downstairs floor, choosing gifts for friends in the food area. It was a dazzling display of teas, coffees, seasonal chestnut treats, granola (we purchased charcoal autumn), again, I could go on for days and days! Chocolate, baked goods (oh the baked goods)… did I say baked goods!!!!! Cookies, English muffins, croissants (at least 8 varieties), scones, rolls, baguettes…. As we were walking around we did walk by one area called Yogurt Four Seasons. It has the freshest, tangiest, creamiest assortments of yogurt I've had since my days in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont! The portions are small, just enough to sample a few flavors, but they also sell a six-pack that's perfect if you're staying nearby. The service is quick and polite--though the staff did not speak English, it's not a problem. Just point, the labels are descriptive and in English. We used our phone's translator once or twice with the other staff but honestly, you can order just fine without. Before purchasing gifts for family we used the translator because it will tell you when items will go bad, what is in them and sometimes where they are made. We could not believe we spent 4 hours there and went to pop in for :30. It was worth it if you have the time and money, you decide what to spend. Don’t forget some things were only $6. Some were $600. And there is a conversion function on your iPhone for Yen to US$. Oh, and we walked here from the hotel as it used to crazy to think to park near here.

I went to Takashimaya to kill time with my toddler before meeting friends. The 9th floor is all kids stuff and has a small area of toys kids can fiddle with for 20-30 minutes. There is also a nice rest area by the changing tables, breastfeeding room. They had a plethora of types of high chairs you could use, microwaves, hot water, vending machines with kid options and garbage cans by the little feeding corner. There were also many strollers for mall use only. On the 12th floor is Moana cafe which has a kids pancake set and next door is Tsubaki-ya which has good cake sets for meeting mom friends. The B1 also has some bread and cake places and small seating areas. Besides their being 12 elevators in this mall, waiting is always a pain. The priority elevators are respected though, which is nice. The bathrooms are also all wonderful.

It is one of the better colossal department store in Shinjuku. You could pretty much find anything you need at the store and they also have a supermarket downstairs in addition to all the food stations. I always come to their supermarket to get items that I need when I'm staying in the hotel. If you are in Shinjuku City or near the Shinjuku main train station. You can access the department store via the bus or Subway. If you're taking the bus, just hop on bus number 86. Make sure you're going the right direction, you need to get off at Sendagaya-Gochome. Takashimaya is right across from you. If you're taking the subway, you can access via F13 (Brown color), M09 (Red Color), or S02 (Green color). After you exit the subway car, you need to look for exit E8. Once you exit E8, you will see Takashimaya in front of you.

The atmosphere is extraordinary, and the view is stunning, but unfortunately, the food doesn’t live up to the same standard. We ordered a course meal, but most of the meat was chewy, and I wasn’t a fan of the pairing of beef with sembe. Both the tarts used for the antipasto (savoury) and dessert were clearly pre-made and weirdly sweet. The only thing I truly enjoyed was the bread and butter. It’s a shame, as the location has so much potential. Even the music felt a bit off. I expected something more refined to match a place like this.

An additional 3000 yen per table for the night view, but the scenery is totally worth it. I have eaten better Wagyu before, so the food is only 3/5. If I close my eyes, I could not tell it’s regular New York steak or wagyu. But the view adds a lot of credits to it.

At Kintan our group of four booked a table in advance, however unfortunately all the window seats had been taken. This wouldn’t have been a problem, however on arrival the super young staff was on the phone and we couldn’t be seated for the first 5 minutes, once seated it was 15 minutes until we where handed a drink menu (only one at that). Usually we could enjoy the view and chat, however they had placed us right by a large pillar which blocked the view, and with no drinks or service it was pretty awkward as this was supposed to be a special evening. The restaurant was not busy and there were plenty of other tables open, but it seemed that the staff where all just out of college and the manager a burly chap was too busy “managing” to see to the customers himself. When the food arrived it was thrown down on the table as if in a university canteen, only with an explanation of what each dish was with no ideas of whom had ordered what. I try to be fair, so I’m giving an extra star as the food was not bad at all; however when splashing over 10,000yen a head (well above the average eating out budget for an Tokyo trident), I felt cheated, sad and upset. When spending that much money for me it’s a special occasion. Honestly I’ve had better customer service in Sazaeria and Dennies. Just writing this review to save anther poor soul from making the same mistake as I did. The Thai restaurant on the 37th floor has the same view and even without a window seat has a wonderful atmosphere and staff. I’d advise that and will go there again next time instead.

This place has a beautiful view and a very nice, tasters menu. Gizzard and mushrooms, and wagyu beef were the starters, followed by beef tongue stew and a small paté hamburger, which was interesting, and quite tasty as well Each dish was delicious, though the steak served as a main course could have been better quality. The meal concluded with a mousse pastry, topped with fresh fruit and raspberry sauce. This place in on the 38th floor, and provides a fantastic view of Tokyo through large glass windows. Even the elevator ride up offered a breathtaking view of the city. We visited this place with a close friend of ours and that, was the best part of the evening.

BAD WITH ALLERGIES I normally don't leave reviews unless they are 5-star, but this was horrendous and ruined my evening so I think I need to let people know. I had a terrible allergic reaction, but the staff insisted that there's no allergen in the dish. I let them know beforehand of my allergies, but somehow I ended up puking and in pain. Ok, why is my body having an allergic reaction if there's no allergen?! I thought a 'nice' restaurant would be safe for people with allergies but not this one. Also the food is so mid as well, not worth going. Plenty of other restaurants in this building, don't go to this one.

I wasn’t expecting this restaurant to be on the 38th floor with an amazing food and incredible food. As other commenters said, the beef tongue was superb. I ordered the gorgeous lunch and was so not disappointed. Everything was absolutely delicious! I would love to bring some foreign tourist friends here when people can once again travel after Covid. Thank you for the friendly service and the really good canned special coffee. The special mask case was also a very nice touch!

Ramen restaurant
Hajime is a renowned restaurant that holds the 36th spot on the list of top 50 restaurants globally. The establishment's concept revolves around nature's beauty, reflected in its meticulously prepared dishes resembling serene ponds and graceful koi fish. To reach Hajime, travelers can take the Midosuji Line from Shin-Osaka Station to Yodoyabashi Station. While some visitors wish for more condiments like garlic at their tables, many praise the delightful rice bowl with meat.
The food here is so good! The service was very friendly, and they even have a machine where you can order in English, which made everything super easy. It was my first time trying Tsukemen, and my boyfriend had the ramen, both were absolutely delicious! Tsukemen is a dipping-style ramen, cold noodles served separately with a rich, hot dipping broth. Very recommended!! They served the food really fast, everything was clean, and the whole place had a nice, welcoming vibe. One of our best experiences in Tokyo for sure. If you’re looking for tasty, quick, and flavourful ramen, I totally recommend this place!

I’m not a big ramen gal, but for me it was good. The soup itself was very tasty, and the add ons as well. You order and pay by yourself at the machine. Liked the atmosphere. Pay attention that the normal plate is more than enough! At least for me :)
Schwartz L — Google review
The pork was very tasty. The soup didn't taste much and was cold on one side of the bowl. Overall pretty disappointing ramen in tokyo.
Henry S — Google review
The shop itself can be a little hard to fine. The best route would be to walk all the way down Takeshita Street, cross the road and head left and when you see the cat mural of the brand Ripndip, the restaurant is on the right hand side. You'll see a very steep and deep stairway that leads to the restaurant. The shop is very small and the ordering machine is at the back. As there are limited seating, you can either wait or order takeaway. This is one of the shops in Tokyo that I see offer Tsukemen and the dipping soup was so flavourful and thick! Noodles were chewy and thick and the chashu pork was two thick pieces. As the soup can taste quite salty near the end, you can always ask for some hot water/tea to dillute it a little and finish.
Phoebe C — Google review
This was a very nice spot! I came here for lunch, craving salt due to spending time in the park in the summer heat, and was happy with my ramen. It didn't have a too salty aftertaste, though I think I was too full to pay attention to the aftertaste anyway! I saw that the upgrade to a large bowl was free, I decides to buy that, since there were two more size upgrades... how foolish that was. I dread to think how large the XXL must be!! I was very, very full. It was good, though, and kept me full! Didn't need dinner that evening! The staff member who greeted us was lovely. When we walked in, he greeted us in English and told us to order at the machine. He was relieved when he realised we could understand some Japanese, but he was very sweet to make the effort to accomodate us and communicate in English anyway! The atmosphere was fiarly cosy, kept clean, and not too loud, though it being in the basement is a little unfortunate, since natural light is always nice. It is on the more expensive side, as far as ramen goes, but it was good as a one-off treat! And not bad for the area either, everything in Harajuku will be more expensive... Finally, there was not much variety, but I think this is a good thing. Places that specialise in one dish tend to do that dish very well, and this place is no exception.

Takeout Restaurant
Subway is a popular counter-serve chain offering customizable sandwiches and salads, including healthy options. In Tokyo, the subway system makes it easy to navigate top attractions like Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Shibuya's scramble crossing, Shinjuku's Kabukicho, Tsukiji Market, Higashi-ginza's Kabuki-za Theatre, and Tokyo Tower.
suitable for breakfast, because the food is not too heavy. If you buy a set, I think the price is very cheap because it's filling. the location is close to shinjuku station. Because the shop opens at 8 am you don't have to worry about looking for food in the morning rush. There are lots of choices of bread, fillings, and toppings so you don't need to worry if you have any restrictions.

Subway in Japan. Funny enough one if the best sandwich shops Japan has to offer 🥴 Got the limited time tandoori chicken. Very good with low calories and good protein chunk for price
James F — Google review
This is the worst one among the three Subways in Shinjuku that I often go to. It always smells awful and looks not as clean as the other two. But what’s worst is that when I ordered salad chicken sandwich earlier tonight, one of the staff just put a piece of chicken with a extremely obvious PURPLE SPOT THAT I CANT TELL WHAT IT IS on the sandwich like It’s perfectly normal to serve a customer with something looking so suspicious??? And the other one staff didn’t even throw away that piece of chicken until I told him to??? It baffles me, truly. Yes the purple spot may be safe to eat but did they just want me to take the risk of possible food poisoning or diarrhea?? I’m worried about the food safety here. The unbelievably service attitude too. BTW the other two Subways are the one in the Opera City Building and the one in the Nomura Building. The latter is smaller than this one but way more clean and comfortable. And it’s not far from here, just a 10min walk.

I love the location of this subway! Super convenient for anyone passing through Shinjuku station. The sandwiches are fresh and yummy and the staff are very kind and helpful. A nice place to have lunch. It’s close to the station and has a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from. There is also a salad option for those that want to avoid gluten and other bread products. It is slightly more than I want to spend on lunch, but it is fresh and delicious, so I come here several times a week.

Typical subway. Food was good, but they messed up my order at first. I spoke Japanese but maybe my accent is weird and they started making a sandwich I didn’t want? A little bit of a miscommunication? Also he toasted my sandwich without asking, which I didn’t want it toasted lol. But they did remake it when I told them so, no problem after

The highlight of the meal is undoubtedly the Kobe steak, renowned for its incredible tenderness and rich buttery flavor. Diners can enjoy cooking their own Sirloin steak set B on mini grills, although it’s already cooked to perfection!
This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. The Kobe beef and overall experience were outstanding. We stumbled upon it while walking near our hotel, and I was able to make a reservation for 8 p.m. on the spot. Both the chef and our server made the evening memorable with their thoughtful guidance. Our server, Kieko, did an excellent job explaining the menu and the different cuts of beef, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by for an exceptional Kobe beef experience

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this restaurant on our vacation. It is located side of Mitsui bldg and looked very small, but there were a few tables corner of inside the restaurant. Chef Miguel and a lovely waitress welcomed us and took us to the table. He explained and educated us all about Kobe beef and the restaurant was legit with prestigious awards. We splurged with ¥80,000 set menu for two, which including salad, rice (we switched with beef garlic rice) and soup. Beef was so tender and melted in the mouth. Grilled vegetables were nice and healthy additions of meat. And there was a surprise desert, which was a homemade vanilla ice cream with homemade cherries sauce. Entire meal was just fantastic! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to enjoy high quality Kobe beef.

Came to Miyabi after a rather tough several days of work. And it is the wisest decision that I have made in a long time. Ordered the Champion Briand meal. Wow this is definitely the best steak I had by a big margin in all my life. The meat is tender yet textured, full of silky smooth flavour that has a mild aromatic milk after taste and perfectly grilled to medium rare. Chef Miguel has been most helpful and professional in arranging the dinner, and for telling me about how Kobe Beef is carefully managed in order to get to such a great height. This is really a wonderful, even miraculous, dining experience. Strongly recommend to anyone coming to Tokyo. This is very very different from what we can have outside Japan. And this is actually also the best steak that I ever tasted in Japan (sorry that I am repeating myself …..). Certainly not cheap but trust me, it is worth every yen you pay for it. Oh by the way the restaurant is a small outfit with a cosy feel. Totally unpretentious. Very comfy !!

We would have never found this or make the reservation ourselves... But luckily, my best friend lives in the neighborhood and made the reservation for an amazing dinner! Everything was flavorful, fresh and the textures were amazing!! They only have about 8 seats, so if you can get in, you’ll be sitting at the counter watching chef working his magic! (And chef speaks very good English, too!) Sake selection was also incredible, you can simply tell him what you prefer, and they will have something for you! Or, if you’d like to have wine, bubbles, Shochu or beers... They’ve got it all :)

(Translated by Google) 2nd time. May 2022 It’s been a long time since I’ve been here! Every single plate of snacks is perfect ✨ Is it okay if I don't have this? There's nothing like it. It would have been nice to have a leisurely drink and eat slowly, but since the start time was after 8 o'clock this time, I ate a lot. The white meat grilled fish had an elegant taste and was great. I'm glad that the nigiri had more shellfish this time! The horse mackerel was also amazing. Also, additional bonito toro? I think you said you could only get two volumes? It was smooth and elegant, and I don't think I would have recognized it if I hadn't heard it was bonito. I love the general manager of THE craftsman, and I know him by sight, so it's fun for me to talk to him about various things 😊 I think people with no manners write strange things. It's true that the trend of saying anything is fine for customers is a bad thing 🇯🇵. First visit↓ Bio's Champagne was delicious✨ The happiness of having delicious alcoholic beverages and carefully made elegant snacks presented just right in front of you. I forgot to take a photo, but I started with the octopus. For some reason, I can't leave out the octopus. The next engawa was crunchy and went perfectly with the champagne. The smoked oysters are also rich, which goes perfectly with the champagne. Whelks are so elegant that I want to eat more of them (lol) I wanted to eat whelk with sushi. I should have said it. And smoked roasted blackthroat. This is exquisite! Sake or beer would be good too. The abalone chawanmushi was also rich, and although I don't really like chawanmushi, the one here was really delicious. After enjoying the snacks, move on to the nigiri. I received 4 types of sea urchin for the omakase, but there was an additional sea urchin. I can eat endlessly now. I wanted it to never end!

The first half is a sake and appetizer course. Unique side dishes shine, such as white fish comparison, abalone liver sauce with leftover sauce, abalone liver rice with leftover sauce, and chawanmushi with ayu paste. The second half is the nigiri course, which has a nice aging and finishing touch. If you visit around July, you can taste and compare fresh sea urchins from all over the country, so it's a must-see for sea urchin lovers (if you're looking for sea urchins, call ahead to confirm) The price is approximately 20,000 to 25,000 yen per person. I think this is a sushi restaurant where satisfaction with the price is quite high.

We were eyeing this place amongst others in the area post-Shibuya Sky tower visit (~18:00 on a Thursday) for some Wagyu/Kobe beef to signify our first trip to Japan. We didn't secure a reservation since our itinerary wasn't solid, but we lucked out with a table (though not near the window-view as those appeared to be max at 4-person group. Reservations recommended, and there's even an online option via TableCheck). The place was near empty when we started, near full when we left. Our hostess/ waitress, was proficient/ fluent in English and menus had English descriptions (very helpful for my Dad who refused to try even the basic tourist-Japanese phrases). We're halfway through our trip, and after a day of navigating the ちかてつ and relaying translations to someone who refuses to start their hearing aids, it felt nice having a break from translating for the fam. My wife opted for the Kobe beef course, kids for the sirloin, and dad for the Halal chicken. There's a remarkable difference in the tenderness & flavor of the sirloin vs the Kobe. The 3+ chefs worked diligently and wait staff were very attentive, considering where we were seated. The atmosphere was dim but well lit, and it was interesting to see servers reciting the orders to the chefs out loud in Japanese. There was a steady flow of customers after we got there (assuming they had reservations) and the place was near filled when we left at ~19:30. Would definitely eat here again (and it appears the full course is a value!)

We had a very unpleasant and uncomfortable dinner at Teppanyaki 10 in Shibuya. The food was just okay, not bad, but nothing special. Normally I don’t comment much on taste since everyone’s different, but what really made the evening disappointing was the horrible service. The waitress who took our order was professional. But all the others, especially the one serving tea and dessert, were awful. We felt like we weren’t welcome, and we could easily notice a clear difference in how we were treated compared to the Japanese guests around us. Our food took ages to arrive, and their attitude was cold and rude the whole time. Toward the end, the dessert cart came around and the server asked if we wanted tea or coffee, but her tone was sharp and impatient. She looked very annoyed and clearly didn’t want to be serving us. When she came back with dessert, her attitude got even worse. We saw her interacting much more kindly with the others who were Japanese, which really made the difference feel obvious. With all I’ve heard about Japanese hospitality, I expected at least decent service. Sadly, this place didn’t deliver. Based on my visit and reading other similar reviews, I wouldn’t recommend it. If you’re looking for a friendly spot with good food and respectful service, it might be better to try somewhere else.

Everything was so good! The servers and chefs were very nice. They accommodated all of our requests and tried to make the meal the most enjoyable for us. We went for lunch, and after our meal they offered us coffee/tea, and a dessert cart came around and we were able to choose anything we wanted. The limit for each dessert was one per person but we were able to try all the desserts.

Tepan 10 Shibuya has great food and the steak is always delicious. But the service at the door was disappointing. I called ahead to reserve a window seat, and when we arrived they tried to put us at the bar instead, saying they were full even though the place wasn’t busy. Because of that experience, I’m not sure I’d come back.

Nice view of Shibuya Crossing and a good steak. I ordered the 180-gram Kobe steak—it was well-prepared and probably worth the price.
Farhad K — Google review
We were having Christmas and birthday dinner here. I believe we could have a better experience at other times. For Christmas, they split the dining into two sessions with a 9 course meal! A group of customers from the first session were so unhappy that every one of them kept complaining about the food in front of us while we were waiting for the second session outside. In fact, we were more angry with them than anything. The food was very good to us. Everyone in my group enjoyed it very much. But I understand the problem was the limited time. We were a bit rushed. The staff were tensed. The chefs needed to serve a full house of customers with all the great food in practical one and half hour. If I am the boss, I would rethink if I should run a Teppanyaki like a fast food shop even only for festival days. Customers who are minutes late would have problem finishing the meal before being asked to leave. For birthday, we were fully informed that nothing could be offered or even served. But we just wanted to bring a cake and kind of celebrate so we didn't mind paying the charges for bringing outside cake. What surprised me was that when I needed to ask for my candle back, we were warned, "No fire!". Yes, it was a warning rather than notice. They just had a fire show for Christmas at chef table so I don't understand what harm could be done with a small birthday candle to the alarms. But there was not much time left before closing, and we respected the rules. We were just joking that if we could have a knife for cutting the cake🤣 But overall, all my family members were happy with the meal. So it was still a four star dinner.

TeppanYaki KOBE Beef Steak EBISU84 is a renowned teppanyaki restaurant in Tokyo that exclusively serves world-famous Kobe beef and Grade A5 Japanese Black virgin heifers. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including Kobe beef courses and high-end seafood options like abalone and lobster. Visitors can expect an exquisite dining experience with tender, marbled Kobe beef that melts in the mouth.
After falling in love with Kobe beef Teppanyaki Grill last visit to Japan we had to find a similar experience for our younger son who does not live here. We wanted a small local type of restaurant and this did not disappoint. They have two private rooms and the counter service, which was so much fun to meet another family from Canada. The food was presented beautifully, seasoned perfectly, and the Kobe beef, wild everyone! We ended up with the course menu, which was fantastic to try different things whether they were your cup of tea or not. This was a wonderful dinner to celebrate our son’s wedding in two days, which were very excited for! Definitely a bit pricey, but more of an experience than just a meal.

We had a memorable dinner at Ebisu 84. My partner and I were lucky to share an evening with a team that clearly cares about what they do. Master Tatsuya Soga skill and precision were a pleasure to watch, and every ingredient on the menu felt carefully chosen and perfectly prepared. The meat was excellent, but so was everything else. The hostess made sure we never had to ask for anything, and her attention added a quiet sense of ease to the whole experience. The team is generous and kind — it felt good to be there. Thank you also for the late tasting of natto :D We hope to come back soon!

This was hands down the best meal we had in Japan. From the service to the intimate setting, everything was exceptional. The staff were so attentive, and the food was incredible. Thank you for making this such a special part of our trip! ❤️

We ate here twice during our trip Even though it was almost 40 minutes away from our hotel. The first time we ate there, all the staff made sure we felt welcome. My three boys felt so loved by Sei and the Chef. She explained to them the background of the pictures on each napkin. She also carefully explained each dish to my two boys who chose the course menu. My youngest who is a picky eater was accommodated with dishes he'd eat. My husband and I are vegan so they helped us choose dishes we'd be able to eat. Based on this, we chose to eat there for our last night in Japan. To our surprise, they remembered everything our kids loved and prepared them again. And, they made a is a vegan course menu. We felt so loved and appreciated by everyone there. It was the best experience we had in Tokyo. They treated us like family and we can't wait to see them again when we come back next. Thank you, Chef and Sei.

What can I say? You want Kobe beef, this is one of the finest teppanyaki places I've ever been. I booked for 9 people on a family trip and the service had great communication leading up to the night of the dinner. They were also super accommodating with a vegetarian and a person who could not have too much beef in their diet. In addition, accommodating two picky tweens with the food...THAT I was most concerned about. No problem at all because the food was top notch, which both kids loved. The ingredients were all locally sourced from different regions of Japan and especially the piece de resistance, the kobe beef. The preparation for all course menu items were expertly assembled by the manager and his team and cooked on the hot steel surface by the grill master. The food was also matched with special singular condiments that enhanced the simplicity of the food. The service was absolutely lovely and accommodating. There were even times that simple dishes just showed up from nowhere! All-in-all, such an amazing evening with food, service and surroundings put together at this fantastic place for a last hurrah for our family trip to Tokyo.

Ebisu84 in Tokyo delivers an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you arrive, the elegant atmosphere and attentive staff make you feel welcome. We ordered the Chateaubriand, and it was simply perfection. The beef was incredibly tender, rich in flavor, and cooked with absolute precision. Each bite melted in the mouth and left us amazed at the quality and care behind every detail. The presentation was beautiful, and the balance of flavors showed how skilled the chefs are. Every course complemented the beef perfectly, and the wine pairing elevated the entire experience. Ebisu84 truly sets the standard for Kobe beef dining. It is easily the best beef we have ever had anywhere in the world.

Yakiniku restaurant
At USHIGORO S. in Shinjuku, diners can enjoy a unique yakiniku experience in private rooms for various occasions. The restaurant prides itself on skillful grillers with rich experience who prepare the finest rare beef cuts from Tamura Farm and Omi Beef from Okazaki Farm. Guests can savor limited courses featuring carefully selected black Japanese beef from top farms and pedigrees.
Really good quality beef. We had the set dinner menu which came with many delicious dishes in between the beef courses. Enjoyed the experience overall and service staff very attentive. There was a maximum dining time limit of 2 hours.

Extremely enjoyable experience. The restaurant was beautiful, the staff were great, the food was incredible. The flavours and tenderness of the meat were simply unbelievable!! It was really good value for money as well, with the set meal being very reasonably priced. 11/10 meal, I would highly recommend to all and would definitely come again!!

We reserved online only to find that our reservation had not been received by the restaurant. The maître d’ went beyond the call of duty to find us a table despite the restaurant being fully booked. And how grateful we were!! We were assigned our own delightful waiter/cook, who took care of our every need with gracious, professional and friendly attention. He was amazing! And then there was the food… Although we opted for the cheapest of the set menus, there was plenty to eat in both the beef and veg/salad options. Every time the door to our private room slid open, another culinary delight was produced, with everything oozing freshness and quality. I’m so sorry we didn’t catch our waiter’s name (his initials were K.T.) because he was so helpful and patient in the way he explained everything to us. From the first fresh, crunchy vegetable and salad courses through the multiple beef options, via the divine desserts and finishing with piping hot tea, he explained, cooked, joked and provided. A special mention must be made about the “tour of the cow” - a culinary journey which took in multiple parts of the most delicious and tender cuts. Once cooked and served with different sauces, egg yolk or rice, they provided melt-in-the-mouth decadence. Photos from other reviewers reveal we could have had significantly more enhanced versions of our meal, with even more outrageous ingredients, but we left this establishment to the friendly bows and waves of all the staff, feeling as though we had dined like kings:-)

While the private room, view, and delicious food were fantastic, the service tonight was unacceptable. The staff were inattentive and didn't bother to explain the dishes. The weird smile we received when we politely declined other beverages for water felt very strange and unwelcome. It’s a beautiful restaurant with great food, but the poor service really let it down.

The BEST Yakiniku restaurant I had the opportunity to sample. The private rooms only dining provide an intimate experience, the drinks offered in their menu is well paired and service is highly attentive, well skilled to help you cook the meats to perfection in the right manner and duration. Highlight of the entire dining experience is simply the unmatched exceptional quality of meats that is impressively unrivalled. This is the best Yakiniku I have the blessings to enjoy. Ushigoro S makes emphasis of quality over quantity. Bookings are an absolute must, does not accept walk-ins. Restaurant is non-smoking. Accepts cash and credit card payment.

Definitely one of the best Yakiniku (grilled meat) experience in Tokyo! All meat are well served and grilled by the staff in front of you, which makes every piece of meat being cooked and presented at the best status. You can taste the most premium quality of beef in different styles, not only the grilled meat, but beef sashimi, beef sushi etc. Also, you will have your own private room to enjoy the meal. It’s a wonderful dinning experience and will visit again for sure! P.S. be sure to make a reservation in advance

Beer hall
Innovatively challenging traditional norms, the youthful chef at Towa revolutionizes his seasonal menu by incorporating Japanese beef as its centerpiece. With an unwavering ardor for meat, he meticulously selects top-grade cuts not only from Kobe but also renowned ranches in Tajima, Hitachi, Sendai, and Nozaki. Despite adhering to a timeless foundation, the establishment offers an extraordinary range of beverages and delectable soba dishes.
Discovered this place on my first trip to Japan, and have made a point to come back on all my subsequent trips. It is a small locally owned bar that has a small craft beer selection and curated menu with a speciality in soba. Portions are generous, tasty and very affordable compared to more touristy spots. Highly recommend for tourists looking for spot locals go to while not being intimidating. They have an English menu and don't have any issues with serving foreigners.

We came here for dinner last night after a day long shopping! It’s right around the corner of Ueno station! The place is a bit small and cramp! But the two service staff ladies was very nice, fast, and very accommodating! The soba texture is very good but the dipping sauce was a bit salty for my taste! The sauce over the shrimp tempura and rice was Devine! Too bad I didn’t get to try their local draft beer because it’s a beer soba joint! Next time! Pepper & Morris

The soba noodle is okay. But speaking of the price, the food they offer is pretty good. I'd say, worth your money. Furthermore, a lot of alcohol varieties, a good place to have a drink.

I’m not coming for food only I have come for atmosphere and service and the hospitality from people here. It’s not fair if we only get them 1-2 stars because of the taste of food, they didn’t do any advertising said that they serve best food , just want to encourage everyone here to continue doing their great job and service. Thank you for taking care of me.

Great beer and great soba. It's a small little shop with a great selection of beer and food. I ate here twice, would have loved a third visit. The staff is very friendly and efficient. They have English menus for both the food and drink menu. The soba was fantastic, tried their kitsune soba and the tempura mochi soba, both were excellent. The tempura mochi was tasty, melts in your mouth and is very filling. It is a small bar restaurant, don't recommend going here with large groups or with kids.
S M — Google review
Really nice soba & craft beer shop. Small bar, cozy dining area with mostly 2-person tables and a few larger in the loft section. Been twice on different vacations about 4 years apart and excellent beer selection and food both times - recommend the kitsune or duck soba. Staff excellent, seem to have a lot of experience with travelers, store does take credit cards despite being a smaller operation. Beers are a little pricey but you can order small glasses and try a few.

Kagurazaka Marutomi is a hidden gem in Tokyo, offering a delightful kaiseki presentation that showcases Japanese culinary delights. The menu features an assortment of creative wagyu dishes, including char-grilled tenderloin, cutlets, and sukiyaki that are sure to bring joy to your palate. The chef's expertise in preparing beef dishes shines through, making it stand out even among other renowned dining spots in the city.
One of my favorite kaiseiki restaurant in Tokyo. Seasonal ingredients with superior skill from the chef that made every dishes presented gorgeously yet remains its best taste. Very low-key restaurant but very attentive and friendly services. Looking forward to return each and every time when I’m in town.
Kenny H — Google review
The dinner omakase kaiseki course that I opted for turned out to be pretty average. For the price (of ¥55,000 for 2 person), the quality of the ingredients used as well as the cooking techniques leave quite a bit to be desired. It was an interesting experience as the restaurant was really intimate, especially if you've opted to sit at the counter, but the chef was also really quiet and the overall atmosphere felt a little bit awkward. Because the restaurant was listed in the Michelin guide, we expected a lot more finesse in the cooking techniques or even the freshness or quality of the ingredients used, but it all turned out to be a little bit too subpar for the hefty price tag.
Jolaine C — Google review
Everyone knows Tokyo is a haven for foodies, and this spot was easily one of my favorite meals during my trip.
Shar — Google review
The set course menu was fresh, and so full of flavour. The clear broth was warming, and while I personally am not a huge fan of sashimi, I figured a michelin star restaurant would be a good place to give it a try. I was not dissapointed. The grilled bonito was soft and tasty, and with the Japanese mustard was a great combination. The service was impeccable. We asked for recommendations for drinks with some of the dishes and had some truly different and exciting sakes and wines. Wish we had got the names of the hostess and chef so we could mention them by name. It's a small restaurant, maybe 12 seats total, 4 at the bar, so definitely book ahead. We sat at the bar looking at the kitchen and would recommend this to watch the chef in action. Would absolutely come again.

It's a must try place. A hidden gem. The pictures don't do any justice! Well underrated Michelin 1 star restaurant in my opinion. I'd go back here over some 2 or 3 stars!
Jason L — Google review
Among all the fine dinners we had in our 8 days in Tokyo, this has the best food in our books. The appetizer was complex and interesting, soup was great, and surprisingly the beef was the best among our meals, beating even the yummy teppanyaki place Ginza Steak by a hair. The chef told us his parents are beef mongers... no wonder. Presentation and service were also good, attentive to details. The chef decided what we ate. An English menu was presented to let us know what was in there. The staff was reasonably fluent in English that I could get everything I wanted across, with some help of my (very) broken Japanese and google translate.

A true gem in a city with exceptionally high standards for food.
Steven H — Google review
(Translated by Google) It's located on a side street from the main street, just between Kagurazaka and Iidabashi. The course, which mixes the seasons, is very satisfying and allows you to enjoy both fish and meat. You can enjoy Japanese cuisine with attention to detail. The private rooms are spacious and allow you to enjoy your meals in peace, making them useful for group dinners. In addition, the hospitality, such as the consideration for the guests, is excellent. They have a wide selection of sake, but I think it would be better if they had a wider variety of whiskey and shochu. In Kagurazaka, where there is a lot of competition for Japanese cuisine, this restaurant definitely ranks in the single digits in terms of overall score. Great Meat and Endless Drinks at 牛の達 Private I had a really good dinner here. It started with a small dish of fresh seafood and soft wagyu jelly with crunchy pickles. On top there was a little uni that gave a nice ocean taste. Simple but very tasty. The beef was the best part. Each piece had beautiful fat and cooked quickly on the grill at the table. Every bite was soft and full of flavor. I also chose the drink plan. The staff kept bringing shochu and ginger highballs without stopping. The place felt calm but fun. You can take your time, cook the meat how you like, and enjoy drinks with friends. If you want good yakiniku and a night that feels easy and relaxed, this restaurant is a great choice

Dining at this restaurant was a truly unforgettable experience. The quality of the meat was exceptional, especially the beautiful platter of Wagyu beef with its incredible marbling. Each cut, from the Top Blade to the Clod Heart, was tender and flavorful. The variety of cuts provided a fantastic journey through different textures and tastes. Beyond the star of the show, the other dishes were equally impressive. The beautifully presented appetizer, with its delicate layers of seafood and caviar, was a perfect start to the meal. The different cuts of beef tongue, served on a marble slab, were cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. This place is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality meat and an expertly crafted dining experience.

TOURIST SCAM!!! ok - first is first, this is a tourist scam, I don’t suggest anybody who travels with a budget to make the same mistake to eat here. If you don’t mind what you pay for what you eat and where you eat, if you like to eat like in a social media video, then you go and enjoy the atmosphere and dinner. I found this resto from google maps by relying on other comments. We are a family traveling with a budget (I don’t mean a tiny budget). We like to travel and enjoy things, but it doesn’t mean we have money to waste. My son was looking forward to try wagyu beef, so we aimed 1 night nice dinner during our holidays, which was this place. I didn’t have any idea about the cost of wagyu or anything, so I couldn’t wake up from the scam. For a sharing course, price was 80k Yen, which makes around 500 euros! She advised to share this course for 3 of us, per person menu was 25k Yen. Both are ridiculously expensive. I noticed that when we decided to order an additional set of meat (because at the end it was like a tasting experience not even a proper dinner with full size meat), which was 8500 Yen. It is the time I noticed the SCAM! For a Michelin restaurant experience in Europe, you don’t even pay this price! From the entrance, they treat you like you are in a TikTok show. Everything is exaggerated, they ask you to take videos while they do their show. I understand this is what some people want, but not regular people like us who want to enjoy a nice family dinner!!!! The days after this dinner, we checked the prices on the windows of other restaurants, and yes this is a SCAM which wasted half of our dinner budget for all holiday. If I knew how to make a complaint to tourism department or so, I would definitely do it. I will add picture of the menu and the bill so you can see the prices.

If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable dining experience in Tokyo, look no further than Uchouten, a beloved hamburger restaurant nestled in Higashiikebukuro. This long-standing establishment has garnered a loyal following, often leading to full houses during peak hours. After multiple visits, it's clear why: their Kuroge Wagyu beef hamburgers are nothing short of spectacular. Pair it with their chef's salad—boasting delicious prosciutto—and perhaps a refreshing beer for the perfect meal.

It's fluffy but meaty, and I'm very satisfied✨✨ The accompanying macaroni salad has a strong mayonnaise flavor and is well seasoned, which I really like! I also think that the seafood cream croquette here is the best in the cream croquette world. The seafood flavor is concentrated, and when combined with the rich white sauce, it's a brain-shattering deliciousness✨ The tartar sauce that goes with it is so good that I want to drink it from a barrel. Nikutei Futago Shinjuku is a top-tier yakiniku restaurant located in the vibrant area of Shinjuku. It offers an exceptional dining experience with its high-quality ingredients, traditional yet stylish ambiance, and excellent service. The menu features over 80 items, showcasing the finest wagyu beef including Ota wagyu from Hyogo Prefecture and Sendai wagyu from Miyagi Prefecture.
We’ve been here four times already, and it never disappoints! The appetizer tomatoes are so refreshing, and the meats, especially the rump cap beef, skirt steak, and Chateaubriand are so tasty! The egg yolk rice pairs beautifully with the beef, and the iron plate grilled garlic rice is incredibly tasty. We also love the egg drop soup. Also, we love the drinking yoghurt in the end, and it was a perfect touch!😋 This place has become one of our must-visit restaurants every time we’re in Tokyo. Highly recommended!
Miss C — Google review
This place is amazing. Everything about Nikutei Futago is top notch. We ordered the set menu, and it was the best wagyu we had in Japan. We’ve been to several wagyu yakiniku places in Tokyo, and this place is by far the best quality Wagyu we’ve had. The service is stellar, Masa made sure our experience was perfect. I highly recommend dining here!

We ordered the Iki Course, and it was the best decision ever. Might be a lil bit pricey for yakiniku, but really worth the price. Also we booked a private room, so it’s very private for anniversary dinner.

The best steaks I’ve had. Phenomenal service by Yukako. I wasn’t sure how to cook my Châteaubriand, so she cooked it to absolute perfection. This is my second time here and I will return every time I’m in Tokyo!

Beautiful dining. They let us in without a reservation luckily. We had the Nikutei Simple Course and the Sake Flight and they even helped us cook the Wagyu so we didn't ruin the beautiful flavours.

Steak house
Ginmeisui Ginza is a modern and luxurious teppanyaki restaurant situated in the vibrant Ginza area. The low-lit, minimalist space features individual grill plates for Wagyu beef and lobster at counter seats. Guests can savor the aroma and sound of abalone, spiny lobster, and Japanese black beef being expertly cooked on a beautifully-polished iron griddle.
10/10 experience; with the most delicious wagyu beef & lobster as the true stars of the dinner. This isn’t just a simple sit down dinner, it’s a show of culinary talent and passion for service, as the food is carefully prepared by a talented chef in front of your eyes as you sit at the elegant counter. We loved every second of it, nothing to fault, from the chilled starters to the perfect dessert to balance the meal out. Cannot recommend this place enough, thank you for your hospitality.
Carlota A — Google review
Impressive restaurant and design. First class layout and aesthetics. We chose the Kobe and Spiny Lobster option. The Kobe was not the best I’ve had and the lobster was really the size of a shrimp. I realized most restaurants in Japan tend to rush the dining experience if your the last seating of the night. We sat down at 8 and they finished our service at 9. 1-hour for a teppanyaki dinner might’ve been faster than going to Benihana with my kids. The price was over $200 a head with some standard grade sake. I don’t think I can recommend this experience. Maybe it’s better if you come early.
John K — Google review
I ordered the seasonal course which comes with 8 courses (paid $200). Way too pricey for the size and quality of the courses they serve. They served me a small piece of "kobe beef" steak that I don't think it was kobe beef at all just by just looking at the marbles. Felt scammed and dissatisfied at the end of the meal!
Yuxin L — Google review
Wonderful experience overall! There is a service charge that is not included in the set price. Also drinks are additional. So be warned this place is not cheap. But you get what you pay for and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is also very nice. Along with the service. I recommend making reservations in advance! My friend and I paid ¥16,000 for two people —lunch set. We also ordered a drink.

This place was fantastic. The presentation was exceptional, with a high attention to detail. The chef was personable, and friendly. He made every effort to enhance our dining experience, even though we didn't speak any Japanese. We also arrived somewhat late for our appointment, but they happily accommodated our party. Our drinks came quickly and were refilled immediately. The atmosphere was elegant, and refined. I would highly recommend for date night, or for travelers looking for a fine teppan dining experience.
Paul C — Google review
Confusingly located in 3 floors of the building, so you may be a bit confused at first, when you are trying to figure out which floor to pick. In our case we went to the seventh one, and there they navigated us to the right one. You are given an option between a place at the counter, which offers a better show and I guess a nicer culinary experience, and a salon, which gives more of a privacy and relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant offers several predesigned tasting menus, including the ones with the famous Kobe beef. I would have welcomed a printed menu in which we could see what is actually included in the menu (in ours it was vaguely described, e.g. seasonal soup, dessert, fish, etc.) as the level of English of the waiter wa not as great, but nothing Google translate could not solve. Unfortunately, not all the courses were that great, and I am not really sure if they worked well together, rather they stood well on their own as individual meals. Overall, the food was of good quality, the service was nice, but that is all to be expected given the price tag. What I actually enjoyed the most, was the privacy the salon offered, which allowed us to have conversations and fun without external interruptions.

Takeout Restaurant
Ushigoro is a sophisticated and well-lit restaurant located in Nishi-Azabu, offering a touch of luxury suitable for special occasions. The menu features multi-dish courses and a la carte options, with the 6,100 tabegoro course being highly recommended. This course includes approximately nine small platters of various cuts of beef, such as thinly sliced beef tongue and thick-cut skirt steak.
The location is very closed to the train station, easy to find. The service was great! The servers were able to communicate in basic English. I was able to talk in simple Japanese so everything went well. We picked two lunch course and they were both wonderful. No kids menu available so I ordered the curry (beef) for my kid and the kid loved it. The quality of meat was great too! The server also informed us that which meat went well with the salt and which paired with the sauce. The server also asked us if we need refill on soup or rice which were both free. We did not get any because the portion was enough for us. It was a nice dining experience for us. Definitely will go back again!

Overrated restaurant. 1) food portion - it’s on the small size 2) the seasoning is a bit too salty and few of the dishes are Korean inspired. For people who doesn’t like spicy…they won’t like it 3) food looks better than it actually tastes lol 5/10
Gladys H — Google review
My second times visit and still one of my favorites high-rank beef BBQ in Tokyo. The quality of food and service are top of class. All staffs are extremely polite and willing to help, they more or less can speak some English so communication is not an issue. I order an set and extra pieces of the beef sandwich, it is super tender and tasty when mixed with the curry sauce provided. I order it every single time. The set itself can feed a person already, as you are free to choose a dish from either rice or noodle. But still, you can take it, pleade do try the sandwich, it is really good.
Samantha C — Google review
*Not recommended for solo diners if you're considering the set dinner.* I reserved the ¥12,400 set dinner, excited to try the Matsutake and Mushroom Beef Rice in Roasted Stone —one of the dishes I was most looking forward to. However, once service began, I was informed that this dish is only available for parties of two or more. As a solo diner, I was told I’d need to pay an additional ¥10,000 to have it included. I’m still unsure if the waiter misspoke and meant ¥1,000, but he clearly said ¥10,000, which was shocking considering the entire meal set costs ¥12,400. I asked if a half portion could be offered, but they declined. Instead, they let me choose a rice or noodle dish from the regular menu as compensation. I opted for the Thick-Smooth Ox Bone Stock Noodle Soup, but was disappointed again—the soup base was identical to the day’s soup already included in the set, meaning I essentially had the same soup twice. The waiter didn’t mention this overlap. The noodle portion was small, and without the rice dish, I left feeling hungry and dissatisfied. I strongly recommend the restaurant clearly indicate on the menu that the Matsutake and Mushroom Beef Rice in Roasted Stone is only available for two or more guests. As it stands, this feels like a trap for solo diners who expect the full set experience. This was my third visit to the restaurant, but the first time dining alone. Since I’ve had the beef rice before, I’m familiar with its portion size. I truly enjoyed my previous two experiences, but this time was a letdown. The overall experience left me disappointed, and I’m not sure I’ll be returning again.

I had an outstanding dining experience at this beef-centric restaurant, which offers a comprehensive set menu that showcases everything from beef tartare to various cuts of beef. The attentive staff takes care of the grilling, ensuring each piece is cooked to perfection, which meant I could relax and enjoy the meal without any stress. The quality of the beef was simply exceptional, and the restaurant's location on the 12th floor provided a stunning backdrop, enhancing the ambiance with its scenic views. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly professional, adding to the overall excellent service. For the finale, I chose the beef curry over rice or noodles, and it was a decision I didn't regret. It was so flavorful that I devoured it all, despite being nearly in a food coma from the rest of the meal. I'm already planning my next visit and will definitely try to get a window seat to enjoy the nighttime skyline of Tokyo. A truly memorable experience!

We took the seasonal menu ¥15,000, wasnt a filling meal. Presentation of the beef was nice, the staff cooked it in front of us. However he overcooked at least 2 kinds of beef, such a waste. The sauces and salads were great & tasty, could have been better if slightly more food provided & better cooking technique.

The best steak I've ever had. We had Kobe beef here and it was melt in the mouth delicious. Also had a side of roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables. We shared the dishes as the steak was huge enough for 2 people. Service was excellent and can cater to English speaking visitors

An outstanding culinary experience! We arrived at around 5:30pm for our reservation, the server meticulously explained the cuts of beef that he was going to serve to us, showing the raw cuts that were going to be cooked to our taste for the evening. The dessert with the personalized message congratulating us for our wedding was a very nice touch!

Enjoyed an excellent tenderloin that was cooked to perfection and wonderfully tender. It smelled fantastic, too. I also had the aged beef sushi which was also really tasty, if rather pricey. The menu was very helpful, as was our waiter, which made choosing something much less intimidating for a first-timer like myself. A picture of where there cuts come from and a description, as well as how much work you should expect to have to do when chewing. The wine selection is extensive, and expensive for some bottles. I didn't try any on this visit, but I'll definitely partake when I return. It was surprisingly quiet when we went at around 6pm on a Sunday evening.

Our family of 4 splurged on a steak dinner of aged Kobe beef ribeye (480g=1 lb=31104¥) and aged black Japanese beef tenderloin (225g=1/2 lb=7680¥) plus some sides and beer. Condiments: onion sauce, garlic soy sauce, salt, pepper and wasabi. Everything was delicious and cooked medium rare (our specification). Both types of beef were very tender and better than the prime tenderloin or prime ribeye we can get in California, but our palates weren’t good enough to distinguish between Aged Kobe and Aged black Japanese beef. The service was excellent and we got a great explanation of the ordering process thru a combination of an English menu, Google translate and minimal Japanese. There is a 30-50 minute wait while they cook the steak.
Martin F — Google review
Wanted to try kobe beef so I went there on the day before leaving japan, the steak was good, tender and perfectly cooked. I would give 5 star if I didn't " have to take" kobe beef, since the waiter misunderstood my order and didn't double check on such order. Otherwise food was good, but the experience wasn't so good.
Trung V — Google review
So the food was about 4 stars, but the service was 1 maybe 2 stars, waiter was horrible. I should have got the aged Kobe, but I wasnt sure if a steak was worth 300 usd for 1 lb, do I got 4 steaks for 100 usd

Okay, so Kobe beef is expensive. However, if you've never had it, it's definitely worth a try. This cozy little steakhouse is a good place to start. With a tourist friendly staff, and a good selection of wine and sides, you're in for a treat. The flavor, texture, and aroma of the amazing Kobe ribeye roll will haunt me, mocking every other steak I eat for the rest of my life.

Went for my bday dinner. Very friendly staff and great experience overall. We went for the 1st dinner seating and only 4 customers including me and my girlfriend, the chef spoke good English and is happy to explain each dish and its ingredients to us. The sushi rice is vinegar-infused (same as Jiro sushi) but it wasn’t very strongly vinegary, instead the slight hint of sourness was very appetizing to me and my girlfriend’s tastebuds. The chef offered up a repeat of our favorite dish and an additional handroll of Hokkaido sea urchin, without additional charge His recommendation for sake was very on-point, the Kyoto Nichi Nichi was a very pleasant complement to the course. Overall great food, nice drink selection and great experience, with a reasonable price tag.

Confectionery store
Shorakuen Tea Salon & Boutique is a charming shop that embodies the concept of a "souvenir shop in paradise" inspired by the mythical peach forest, Togenkyo. The space is adorned with peach hues and offers an array of delightful treats such as "mountain sweets," which are intricately crafted to resemble Japanese mountains, along with Taiwanese tea. The store's limited seating makes reservations advisable for those looking to enjoy the tea salon.
Whenever I find aesthetically divine eateries on Instagram, I generally expect style over substance, but this salon genuinely delivers BOTH great flavors and atmosphere. I felt like I was in a dream world! We got the Mt. Fuji spring and early autumn desserts, and each one really captures the flavors of those seasons. There are many elements in each dessert, but they blend together beautifully. They were also quite generous portions. One can be satisfyingly shared between two people, but we decided to have dessert for dinner! There are only 4 small tables, so make a reservation in advance. Their souvenirs and gift items are also stunning. You’ll want to buy everything.

A very lovely cake shop. Not only do the mountain cakes look pretty, they actually taste really good too. I tried the Nishiyama one, which was a delightful combination of creamy and crunchy textures, with a balance of sweet and tangy flavors. The decoration plate also made my day a little brighter. It’s a small shop, so I’d recommend making a reservation if you intend to dine in.

They have full English menu as well. However if Insta is not your main purpose of life then be prepared to meet lots of people doing hard core photo and video shooting. As far as flavor goes, it’s not bad. Definitely pretty looking that’s for sure.

Regina L — Google review
Though we made a reservation it seems that on a Monday we really didn’t need one. The cafe was smaller than expected and didn’t look much like the videos on Youtube etc. The biggest disappointment was that the mountain they supposedly cut the chocolate pieces from and the robot waiter are nowhere to be seen. This chocolate is also not on the menu. We ordered the “kingyo yaki”, set of 5 mountain chocolates, and matcha milk. Somehow despite being served in a teacup my hot matcha was served stone cold - how did the waitress not even notice? The kingyo-yaki and chocolates were okay. The chocolates are to be eaten with a knife and fork but they’d just been taken out of the fridge so they were really hard and difficult to cut. The red mountain was pretty gross I didn’t finish it. We were also given some extra chocolates and a box as a gift (which kind of justified the price of the egregiously expensive “meal”). The merchandise they sell is VERY VERY expensive. Tote bags are 5,000 and the keychains are 7,000. The location is also a bit in the middle of nowhere so i can only really recommend coming out here if you need the photos for your social media.

Food wasn't anything super spectacular, except that they bring a hot stone to cook beef slices on (however, it gets cold relatively soon, so the last pieces don't cook very well), but the atmosphere was beautiful. (Translated by Google) I was brought here for a course meal on Christmas Eve. There seemed to be a vacant seat by the window, so we ate there. 【meal】 Overall it wasn't bad, but it seemed like they didn't do the job for the price. It seems to be a meat shop, so I think the meat was delicious. However, because it is a private room, the staff cannot see the progress of the meal, so overall the serving time is quite slow. 【service】 I thought the store would store my jackets for me, but it turned out to be a store you would normally walk into. There was no explanation of the meal, and the customer service was pretty average given the atmosphere. I had a seat by the window, but it was extremely cold, so I asked them to turn up the heating, but the building seemed to be managing the whole thing, and they kept gulping down hot oolong tea. I was asked for the address on the receipt, so when I said ◯◯ please, he called me out and said ◯◯, which was refreshing and made me laugh lol 【atmosphere】 Japanese style? The path was paved with cobblestones, which gave it a Japanese-style feel. There was a Febreze hanging in the private room. It felt like it was a little loose, but I think it was still beautiful. I can't say much because I didn't pay for it, but my companion said it wasn't worth the price, so I thought it wasn't worth the price. Lunch has pretty good reviews, so I wonder if lunch is delicious? ? I'm not thinking about repeating it at the moment, but it's something I'm curious about.

The interior of the restaurant is Japanese-style, and the night view from the window is beautiful, but don't expect too much because the skyscraper next door is in your line of sight. The Uji course, which costs 8,000 yen for a course meal + all-you-can-drink, seems to be a breakdown of ``6,500 yen for food + 1,500 yen for all-you-can-drink'' because the receipt was written in two tiers: 6,500 yen and 1,500 yen. Stone-grilled meat is a style in which you grill it to your liking on a hot stone, and this time the three of us shared one grilling stone. Due to my age, I can't eat much anymore, so eating the entire course was enough. From a young person's perspective, the quantity may be small for the price. All-you-can-drink is by glass exchange, and the beer is premium malts. It's listed as a 2-hour course, but if you're 4 or more people, you can get an extra 30 minutes by making a reservation on the gourmet site, and the last drink order is 30 minutes before the end of the day. There are no particular complaints about the response to the call button or the speed of delivery. "Miyabi" in Shinjuku, Tokyo is a top-notch A5 Wagyu Teppanyaki Steak Restaurant that offers an exceptional dining experience. The restaurant has only three menu sets, but the high prices are well worth it for the quality and deliciousness of the food. Guests can expect warm hospitality and extra care from the staff, making it a great place for celebrations.
Awesome teppanyaki dinner. Seafood was so fresh, the abalone was still moving. Yummy lobster. Foie gras was excellent. Beef was cooked to tenderness. Friendly Chefs too! Highly recommended when in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

We booked the Christmas dinner for our anniversary. Requested for counter seat, when we get there, all counter seats are empty but we were assigned to the very end and one person is blocked by half wall. We were NOT introduced for our food, NOT asked if we were fine with each ingredient, basically having a SILENT dinner until other guests coming in. Apparently guests who speak Japanese gets greetings and care. Guests like us who only speak English get IGNORED. Not recommending this place to any visitors who do not enjoy DISCRIMINATION.

Excellent Teppanyaki experience! Food was well seasoned and perfectly cooked! Taste was exceptional! Went for the Course menu approx 12000 yen which included Foiegras, Lobster and a choice of Steak cut.

This is a very small and cosy restaurant with around 8 seats at the counter and 6 seats at the table. We ordered the miyabi teppanyaki menu which comes with foie gras, lobster tail and wagyy beef in a 11 course meal. Food taste, presentation and service are all good. The only downside is restaurant allows smoking which luckily for us wasn't that bad as there was only one patron smoking during our time there and he was seated quite far away.

An amazing dining experience! The food was outstanding — the best meal we had during our trip. The restaurant is small and very personal, with a very charming chef and friendly staff. Ingredients are of the highest quality, and each dish was beautifully prepared right in front of us with great attention to detail. We would definitely come back. Highly recommended!

Complete honesty: fine establishment, food is fantastic, flavors are on point, price is perfect, and portions are exactly appropriate. Best part: the waitress made it her goal to ensure I was satisfied. Japanese service is usually good, but she set a new bar for me in terms of hospitality. She, along with the setting, provided a serene ambiance. Only flaw: I was seated at a booth versus counter seating (booked ahead). It is often mentioned in the reviews that foreigners are not favored to be seated at the counter. I won't play into that stereotype, but had I been asked, I would have waited for the seat I reserved. In summary, I would return and highly recommend because of the service I received.

Wow. I’m going to be thinking about this meal weeks after leaving Japan. I think this was the best meal we had during our 9 day stay. The attention to detail was remarkable. Highly, highly recommend this restaurant if you are considering teppanyaki during your time in Shinjuku.

Teppanyaki Tetsuju is a popular restaurant located in Ginza, offering a variety of delectable dishes such as Kobe beef, A4-ranked Japanese Black Wagyu steak, and Osaka's specialty okonomiyaki. The restaurant focuses on the concept of "freely enjoying delicious foods bit by bit" and provides affordable lunch and dinner options with customizable course meals that allow patrons to select their preferred meats. The menu highlights monthly seasonal ingredients, ensuring fresh and diverse dining experiences.
We usually like eating at restaurants off the street that have more of a ‘local’ vibe but it was drizzling and we needed to sit down and get warm for bit and this was amazing. Awesome cityscape view behind the chefs whilst eating, and the food was delicious. Very well spread out cover the course and loved every dish. Highly recommend if you’re after a delicious lunch by yourself or with your partner

We made an online reservation. The information online indicated that there would be a counter with city views. To our dismay, upon arrival we were seated at a cramped table behind the counter where there was no view and it was difficult to slide behind all the counter seats to be able to go to the restroom. This was not the experience we expected and we felt quite mislead. The food was nice, but was not spectacular. The garlic rice was over salted. We did appreciate that the meal was not rushed so we did get quite a lot of time to talk. However - we had hoped to spend that time with a nice view of the city and/or meal being prepared by the chef.

I love my experience. The 2 chefs were very nice and warm welcoming. After I ate, I loved watching them preparing onions and garlics. The food was really delicious. I lab the wagyu appetizer with shiso leaf. As for the steak, I love it dipped in wasabi and soy then the charcoal salt on rice. The balsamic sauce was also interesting. The strawberry ice cream was very very creamy, perfect match with the chewy mochi. I and my meal with a nikka highball while enjoying the view and the moment of silence. :)

Outstanding meal! I had the 'Seasonal' set menu... 3 large appetizer bites, three skewers, a piece of Mackeral, crab soup, Wagyu with vegetables, garlic rice and desert... each was perfect. They have a counter with 8 or 10 seat and a small room with a table. Two guys working the grill were very nice and excellent cooks.

Teppanyaki restaurant that served cold steak! This is a small teppanyaki shop with eight counter seats and only TWO tables. I ordered the recommended menu of the month with 140g. Kobe beef. The first three dishes were quite good. After waiting a long while then came the steak. To my surprise everything on the plates was COLD!!! No warmth at all. Neither steak nor vegetables. It’s the most expensive menu of the shop (¥15,510 per person) and the worst teppanyaki steak I’ve had in my life. Luckily we added the garlic rice option (¥550 per person). The rice and soup were hot! The shop’s name is Teppanyaki Ginza Tetsuju.

WAGYUMAFIA DISTRICT is a renowned wagyu brand known for its exclusive gourmet wagyu experience offered at its restaurants and pop-up shops in Tokyo and nearby countries. With seven international locations, including three exclusive restaurants and the famous Cutlet Sandwich shop in Tokyo, WAGYUMAFIA provides an exceptional dining experience. The flagship store in Hong Kong offers premium A5 grade Miyazaki Wagyu beef imported directly from Japan.
The burger had potential to be great, but a few small, hard-to-chew pieces detracted from the experience. On the other hand, the wagyu sandwich was absolutely delightful—the highlight of our meal—and the fries were impeccable. The manager and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive experience. I would definitely recommend the wagyu sandwich. I also heard they have another branch that serves ramen, which I was eager to try, but unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance this time.

It was the best burger ever! Life changing experience. Service was sooo nice and kind and amazing! The chef and waitresses were friendly and wanted us to come in even when it was closed, the truffle fries are so tasty with the hot sauce and the cheese burger was delicious.

Unbelievable experience we arrived without a reservation and the chef was so amazing to accept taking us in. I ordered the big wag and highly recommended we also got the ultra cheeseburger and it was amazing. I also recommend the truffle fries. The beef is very fresh cut right in front of us and grounded to make the burger. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly they even went to greet us when we left.

Burgers? Meh. Bathrooms? Luxury. Super low-cost vibes, not-so-low price. The burger was so salty I felt like I needed to rinse my kidneys afterward. Honestly, it tasted like a prank from a sodium enthusiast. But hey—they give you luxury hand soap and a fancy toilet seat, so maybe that’s where your money goes. If I wanted a better burger experience, I’d rather hit up Shake Shack and go wild with a triple or even a quadruple patty. At least there, the salt is optional and the flavor is intentional.

I visited Wagyumafia District because it’s known as the 8th Burger in the world—and yes, the experience definitely felt unique. The serving style was creative, and I was impressed by the avocado wagyu burger, which was freshly made to order. The staff were very kind and welcoming, which added to the overall positive vibe. However, the taste didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The burger was a bit too salty for my palate, and I felt like something was missing in the flavor profile. The chips were also quite average and didn’t stand out. Overall, I think it’s a bit overrated in terms of flavor, but still worth trying for the experience, presentation, and concept. A good spot to visit once, especially if you’re curious about upscale wagyu burger culture.

Tempura restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Kagurazaka Ozashiki Tempura Tenko offers a delightful dining experience with a focus on expertly prepared tempura. The skilled chef showcases mastery in handling delicate ingredients, resulting in tender and flavorful dishes. While the preparation of fish is particularly impressive, there are opportunities for improvement when it comes to harder materials like asparagus.
We had an amazing meal and experience. Definitely some of the best tempura we had in Japan. And the neighborhood Kagurazaka is super cool to walk around and explore the little alleyways.
Adam G — Google review
This was a meal for all the senses; it was really nice to watch the chef make the batter right before you and listen to the ingredients frying delicately in oil. It’s more than well done but I personally preferred a slightly thicker and less done batter. Overall I do think it’s extremely pricey for the amount and the type of ingredients but it was nonetheless a very good experience. Dessert melon and strawberry at the end 👍 Instructions in English were very clear for the dipping sauces and salts and staff were attentive and friendly.

This was a really bad meal. Felt like a bit of an ordeal. Enormously overpriced. The food was nothing special at all, no better than Tempura you would get anywhere, and didnt taste of much. Seems just set up for tourists to overpay. Not good at all....
Perry B — Google review
I enjoyed the food and the chef was very nice. However, as others have previously mentioned — it is overpriced at $200 dollars per person. I had another tempura omakase meal at Endo in Kyoto with better food/service at half the price pp.
Juan C — Google review
An amazing tempura experience in a really great district of Tokyo, expensive but you really get what you paid for, the chef cooks everything in front of you and explains really well what and how to eat what's in front of you (like which sauce to choose...)
Pierre M — Google review
Amazing very private, tempura experience. Not inexpensive but excellent.
Robert G — Google review
I enjoyed dinner course very much. The first half of course is served by the first chef. His cooking is very good for fish and soft materials. Tender and filled with favor from material. For hard materials like asparagus I would expect more. The second half is served by the second generation chef. Although the cooker, tembura coating are all the same, favor of each dishes differs from his master magically, especially for vegetables. I really like the expression of smell, shape, taste and passion of food for sure. So happy the art of tembura is succeeded and even better. I would like to recommend people who enjoy Japanese traditional dishes.

This is such a great restaurant! It has a cute atmosphere and amazing service. They are so attentive and helpful. The food is incredible. The tempura is so well made and the progression of food is great. We definitely left full and satisfied!

I’m full of praise! The soya sauce white nightingale is slightly charred and juicy … delicious! The menu is well curated and totally enjoyable! Service is attentive too. The place is exclusive and I get to dine alone in a private room. Allow for sufficient travel time coz it’s difficult to find the place.

Delicious! Eating blowfish as Sashimi and Hot Pot is pretty standard but you can eat them as BBQ style in this restaurant. It was soooo good. You cannot just walk in, reservation is a must. You either need to be taken by a member or know someone who is already a member of this restaurant in order to make a reservation.

It was a very beautiful experience. It’s certainly expensive, but you don’t just pay for the food which is exquisite but mostly the experience which really is remarkable.

(Translated by Google) Osaka Torafugu no Kai is a well-known members-only restaurant that promises a special time. When you open the solid door, you feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for the food. Here, the menu perfectly brings out the depth of blowfish cuisine, and the pairing with carefully thought-out drinks is also wonderful. A number of delicate dishes using special ponzu sauce prepared by the chef himself and fugu soup bring out the high-quality flavor to the fullest. From the exquisite Shirakoyaki to the unique ovary pizza, there are many possibilities for blowfish that can only be tasted here. Furthermore, the sophisticated space and warm service make each dish a special experience that will leave a lasting impression on you. It was so delicious So good that if someone asked me what my favorite food was, I'd be the cheeky one to say fugu! I'm not posting this right after eating it, so I went to another restaurant to eat fugu afterwards, but I realized just how great the fugu dishes here are! I'm so glad I became a member when they took me there!! The restaurant is a little hard to find, but that's also why it's so wonderful and feels like a treasure! Kaiseki restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Seafood restaurant
Kioichō Fukudaya is a refined restaurant offering traditional multi-course Japanese meals in an elegant setting. The restaurant provides bespoke tableware and serves dinner on weekdays, Saturdays, and the day before national holidays. Lunch is available on Fridays and Saturdays. The average price for dinner is 38,000 JPY. Located just a 3-minute walk from Akasaka-Mitsuke Station, it offers excellent food with great presentation and service in a convenient location.
Unique experience with one of the most exceptional services I have ever seen. A staff member will be waiting for you at the entry. You will need to remove your shoes and will be conducted to a private room in a traditional Japanese house. Each dish is served with the most exquisite delicacy and the chef comes to your room to personally serve a few of them.
Onnae S — Google review
My family and I had a great time dining here. The service was excellent and the staff were all very friendly. The atmosphere is perfect if you’re looking for a personal and relaxed setting. The food was amazing and the pairing of flavors was top notch.
Brandon L — Google review
My take on Kioicho Fukudaya: The setting was lovely a real hidden gem feel with a private room that was cozy. The execution of the food & service was absolutely spot on (5/5). However, I wouldn't necessarily reccomend this two star Michelin to my friends. This is very traditional Japanese cuisine, highlighting amazing, fresh, but unusual ingredients. If you're more into modern flavors, some of the dishes will be hard to stomach. The service and ambiance were fantastic, and the food was executed perfectly, but, encountering so many unfamiliar delicacies made it a bit of a learning curve. For me, the $275pp price tag didn't quite align with my personal enjoyment of the meal. Still, a lovely experience nonetheless with exceptional service.
Hana K — Google review
Throughout the course of the dinner, the service was incredible. A staff member was there to greet us from the beginning, we had two very kind and hospitable staff members who were always there for questions. The atmosphere is set within a traditional Japanese home whilst the food is extremely tasty and filling. An incredible experience I would highly recommend.

Full video with sound on Tik Tok My coworker and I decided on dining here while on a trip to Japan. The private experience was AMAZING! When you walk in you’re immediately greeted with a warm welcome and asked to take your shoes off. Bring socks if youre wearing sandals. They will seat you and your party and begin the experience right away. They did ask us if we had any allergies which is customary since there is a mix of seafoods throughout. I was full because the courses ended and felt I may come off rude, but I let them know everything is amazing I’m just getting full. 🫣 Overall this was an authentic experience and worth the trip to see the history, the love poured into the meal and the artistry.
Daniela T — Google review
For how much I spent, I don’t think the food was worth the money. Some of the dishes were bland. The wagyu was tough and not mouth-watering like it usually is. I came out feeling very unimpressed. Personally, I have found that some of the cheaper restaurants I’ve gone to have more flavorful food — all for $6-12 USD per person. Perhaps I’m uncultured and don’t understand Japanese food, so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt. This restaurant happens to be ranked much lower than other ones in the list of places we’ve tried in Japan. Honestly, maybe we just went on an off day. Don’t get me wrong, there were some highlights. Some of the best-tasting unagi I’ve ever had, and I don’t like unagi usually. Great pieces of toro — mind-blowing. I just didn’t think that the dishes were consistent. Overall, seafood quality was A+ though. Maybe it’s because I got the Omakase option and didn’t get to choose the nigiri. Phenomenal service though — like so good we were kind of uncomfortable and started cleaning up after every drop that would fall on our tray. The staff is extremely attentive and respectful. They’re all kind and helpful. We were also dining in a private room. Wow, talk about an experience. Would I do it again? Nah, I think I am more of a hole-in-the-wall kind of gal — more about the food than the ambience. Of course, I’d love to have both but that’s hard to find or I just haven’t found it often in Japan.
