The Third Crossing is a charming restaurant located in the scenic Haven Marina in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft. It offers a relaxed and modern setting to enjoy chargrilled steaks, local fish, and seafood dishes. The well-stocked bar provides an array of tipples to complement the diverse menu featuring locally sourced ingredients. Whether it's a special occasion or a casual meal with friends, The Third Crossing promises friendly service and delectable cuisine.
This is our first dinner of our trip to Norfolk and I’m glad that it was a great start. We all loved the scallops and the unique great taste of the pea puree was a big surprise! Lobsters were all cooked to perfect. Our server Aidan is a star! He was very attentive to our needs and his professional manner throughout the night made us feel like in a 5-star fine dinning restaurant. Will definitely recommend this restaurant and will come again in future.

Had a devious meal here. It's by the water and the staff were fabulous. My starter of pork belly with apple and cinnamon sauce was a treat. Piping hot. Steak and seafood available, fresh lobster dishes. A lady said the whitebait was amazing.

Excellent experience. Food was absolutely delicious and atmosphere just right . 1st time here , certainly wont be our last. Staff were very polite and attentive. Can't ask for more.

I enjoy the 3rd Crossing as a drop in for coffee or very simple bar food. They really can't cook restaurant food. Over last 6 years have eaten in Thier restaurant 3 times - I don't recommend it as fine dining - sham because it's a perfect location by the water, parking available outside, tables out and in - couldn't be better situated and staff are friendly.
Elhovo B — Google review
A lovely meal we had at the Third Crossing. Would like the vegetables not boiled, but pan fried as mentioned on the menu. However, was lovely and would come back again.

We’ve just had a very tasty lunch at The Third Crossing. I was so happy to have a delicious piece of grilled haddock, being able to have it with no awful batter was fab and the chips were good too. My husband said his burger was very tasty and the beers were very much needed after walking from Lowestoft to Pakefield then Oulton Broad 🍻

Nestled on Yarmouth Road, The Foxburrow Beefeater is a delightful pub-style chain that specializes in grilled meats and international favorites. Head Chef Pete suggests trying the Mixed Grill, particularly if you're craving juicy steaks during your visit to Great Yarmouth. For family-friendly options at home, the Smothered Chicken is a hit—featuring tender chicken breast topped with melted cheese, bacon, and BBQ sauce.
Had breakfast here after a night in the Premier inn (which was also perfect). The breakfast was spot on. Cooked fresh, plenty of choice and as much as you want!! I couldnt of cooked it better myself. Compliments to the chef. Good quality ingredients. Thanks 👍

With a superb choice of breakfast options from pastries to cereal, to toast and preservatives, fruit and yoghurts or why not order a cooked breafast, they have something to cater all appetites. Unlimited tea, coffee, juice, could you ask for more? The cooked breakfast was well cooked and you just order what you want 😉 A good way to start the day 🙌 😌

Me and my partner had a lovely Sunday roast apiece and followed It up with a couple of Biscoff sundaes, we had excellent service from Emily F and we have booked again for Wednesday lunch

Lovely restaurant, lots of parking, clean, good service & amazing food! Steak highly recommended! They asked about allergies as soon as we arrived and provided the allergen menu. When ordering, we were asked who had the allergy to ensure food was cooked separately. Very impressed! Although, I would recommend adding more gluten free options to the menu as they were very limited.

First impressions are not great, walked in after booking a table for four over the phone, to a musty smell , the place appeared clean but unloved. Stood waiting at "wait here to be seated " point for what seemed like 10 mins but probably only 5 , ended up walking around trying to find someone and by now having second thoughts as the place was not busy so it can't be that good ?? , after getting fed up had a look on the computer myself (no locked screen ) tut tut !!! We took ourselves to a table and met a staff member on the way , we mentioned the computer said we were on table 27 ? And he replied , that's just randomly generated you can sit wherever you want to . We sat down ordered drinks browsed the food menu and ordered food expecting the usual pre cooked re-heated quality which usually comes with this sort of establishment, BUT........HOW WRONG WAS I ... the food that turned up was of fantastic quality and you could tell they took pride in what they were serving as it was also well presented , cannot fault in any way !!! Would return here without hesitation, if you can overcome the initial fear and inevitable misconceptions when you walk into this place then you won't regret persevering

Restaurant
Located in Pakefield, Lowestoft's southernmost point, The Jolly Sailors offers stunning coastal views and has recently undergone a makeover by new owners Moss & Co. The pub and restaurant provide a gleaming gastropub experience with indoor and outdoor seating that overlooks Pakefield beach. Visitors can enjoy generous portions of delicious food made from fresh ingredients while taking in the picturesque sea view. Additionally, the establishment is known for its friendly service and dog-friendly bar area.
Visiting the area and after a walk by the beach we thought we would stop by The Jolly Sailor. It was lunchtime and we was surprised by the relaxed atmosphere, the bar allowed and dogs and lovely fab views across the sea. We ended up staying for lunch, both fish and chips and scampi were lovely, hot and delicious. 100% worth a visit, Thankyou.

Incredible food! Beautifully presented too. Service was friendly and warm. The staff even did their best to cater to our children’s allergies and autism/picky eating.
Ellie F — Google review
Working nearby and I have visited on every trip since discovering it. A nice walk from my hotel along the sea front then a great view from the pub. The food was the best I’ve had, this time I went for the whole place in shrimp sauce with potatoes and beans, £23 but worth every penny. The fish was perfectly cooked and quite thick so my hesitation about not satisfying my appetite was not needed. The beer was problematic pumping and although acceptable I questioned it 🤔 and was asked if ok but did not want to be fussy as just a bit on the flat side but was real ale. After the meal the nice lady said she had changed the barrel and would I like a half on the house which I accepted ,very good service in going that bit further to look after customers .👍

Genuinely the best battered cod I've had in a long time, which alongside 2 other dishes all came out really quickly. Nice pub with excellent sea views, very friendly staff and a good atmosphere.

Our new local having just moved here. Lovely location looking out to the sea and good value food. Is often very windy so wrap up.
Ellen L — Google review
Popped in for something to eat, saw they had Abbots Ale on tap so had that with the fish and chips. The food was good, let down a little by the chips. The beer was very disappointing as it was cloudy and had floaters in it. The bar staff apologised and said someone had just moved the barrel a little too hard, and they refunded me the cost of the pint. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent food, good selection of real ales from multiple breweries. Nice atmosphere too. Really good table service, yet remaining the relaxed pub vibe. Amazing views over the coast also

Sat outside having a drink and enjoying the view, there was a lovely selection of ciders on draught and the soft drinks weren't too expensive. We didn't eat but hoping to go back for a full English at some point.

Sgt. Peppers is a vibrant and lively diner that embraces pop culture with its colorful decor. It offers a diverse menu of comforting dishes, including options for children. Whether dining in or taking away, customers can expect their food to be served all at once, ensuring a seamless dining experience. The service provided by the staff is exceptional, going beyond expectations to ensure that everyone enjoys their meal. With clean plates from all the kids, it's evident that Sgt.
Came in on last night of our holiday. We were intrigued by the outside signage. I had the pork belly, Mrs F the steak and the all my loving cocktail. Guinness for me. Despite the menu saying there's a wait on steaks, our food came really quickly. Both our meals were cooked perdectly, the fries fresh and hot. I must admit, the pork belly beat me, 2 massive really well cooked and tasty ribs. We finished a raspberry revolver to share, amazing 😋. Great atmosphere, background music a real trip down memory lane. The decor is a real throwback too, especially if your' a gent, going to spend a penny on/ in penny lane 😁. Thanks to the team here at Sgt Peppera for a lovely meal and experince 😃

Haven’t been here in a while. But food still at a good standard and portion sizes are good. Service is friendly and rather speedy (especially with drinks). Worth a few visits as the is a good choice from the menu.
Jon ( — Google review
Disappointed with what we got. This place was recommended for it's burgers and yet what we got was 3 dry and overcooked patties. And they weren't even handmade, but rather processed patties. I had the plain burger and went double, thinking I was in for a treat. But I couldn't finish one patty. I've had a lot of burgers and this wouldn't rank in my top 100. Chips were good and plentiful. And the milkshakes were nice and chocolatey. Service was quick. Server was polite and professional. There is a good selection once you get your head around the quirky names. Will we be back? No. Would we recommend? Again, no. There are much better burgers out there if that's what you are after.

Fabulous restaurant! The food was delicious and worth the price. We loved the entire experience so much that we came back a second night to get another meal that was better than the last one. The owners Jo and Colin tun a fabulous establishment and I felt like I was in a proper American restaurant from the delicious food to the enormous serving sizes.
Chelle — Google review
The perfect place to go for a meal, friends or family. The food is always good quality and good portion size. The staff are very friendly and always ask how your meal is etc
Barry S — Google review
The service was pretty good. As long as you don't have a steak it's not too expensive. I had the surf and turf, I was a bit underwhelmed by the steak, it was cooked rare like I asked, the only problem was it had no seasoning at all which left it rather bland. The chicken in the chicken burger tasted rubbery, which didn't appeal to my wife. The kids nuggets portion was a decent size. The lemon sorbet I had for dessert was very nice and refreshing.
James D — Google review
Went for dinner, had a regular burger, deluxe & platter. Great tasting and simply prepared burgers. Just lettuce, tomato, pickle & onions. The fires were hit and fresh. A great place to grab a family meal. Have the onion rings they are terrific!
James C — Google review
We were in the area for a few days and ate out every night. We found Sgt Pepper’s via a Google search and was immediately intrigued. Open since 1982, away from the main Lowestoft town centre (with local parking) if you are a 60s or Beatles fan, I think it’s safe to say you are gonna LOVE this place. Brimming with Beatles and decade related memorabilia (there’s even a mock zebra crossing and a drum kit on the ceiling plus numerous juke boxes dotted around), even the stairs to the toilets and cubicles have numerous Beatles posters and photos, everything a budding Beatles fan would ever want or need – forget The Cavern Club, this is place to be….So how about the food and drink ?? Love the menu, pulling on musical references (see pic), very clever. However………………. Be careful what you select as some meals (for me) offered much better value for money. I had the “ZZ Top”, which is basically a burger in a bun with some coleslaw and a dollop of pulled pork and 2/3 of a plate of French fries (always a good way of making a meal look more than it is) while my wife had “The Supremes” – an absolutely incredible chicken breast covered in pepper sauce with a nice side salad, some huge spicy potato wedges and a dip, I was envious and tbh, ended up finishing her meal because she was absolutely full. I had room LOL. I recommend you think a great deal about your choice of main meal. The food was fresh and well cooked and arrived nice ‘n hot. I do wonder if a number of customers eat here for the kudos and intrigue and the food is excellent, but a bit pricey if you’re just having a burger. Budweiser on draught and a nice selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, something for everyone. Staff were pleasant. Be warned, the place closes relatively early (we turned up initially at 8.45pm ON A SATURDAY only to be told that kitchen was shut down as the place closes at 9.30 !!). Needless to say, we went back a few days later (our last meal before we went home) and got in at 6.45. Overall, well worth a visit if you’re say, within a 15-20 mile radius, especially if you’re a huge Beatles fan, but some meals (for me) seemed a bit expensive. Doubt we’ll go again, simply because we live over 200 miles away, but as we were staying in the area, so glad we went. Check it out.

Crooked Barn is a charming restaurant with attentive and friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the menu. The food is described as a taste sensation, with the fillet steak being particularly praised for its melt-in-the-mouth quality. While some felt that portion sizes could be larger and wished for more side options on the menu, they appreciated the accommodating service from the staff. Visitors also noted the excellent COVID-19 safety measures in place, including social distancing, temperature checks, and mask wearing.
The staff were amazing, very knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and friendly, food was a taste sensation , the lemon tart was sublime, 4 of our group had the fillet steak and the feedback was “melt in the mouth” . Our only critique would be portion size for the larger eaters of our group, sides could be an option but we didn’t see them on the menu, but I’m sure if we had asked the staff would have obliged as that is the sort of service they gave, nothing was a bother. We all loved it and will go back.

Attended with a group of ladies from our local WI for afternoon tea. Venue very attractive but no atmosphere as only us there. 16 in our party but just 5 tiered stands with enough for 3 on each brought out. We found it difficult to explain to waitress that need another portion but she seemed to think we had plenty and probably some left over! She then brought us a further plate of sandwiches and another scone. The sandwich fillings were disappointing too, no choice and appeared to have the 4 cheapest fillings, I.e no beef or smoked salmon. No choice to have fruit teas just tea or coffee. Scones were dry and cake choices poor as well. Would not return for afternoon tea, probably poorest I have ever had.

Came here a few years ago as a Christmas Groupon gift. there was 8 of us all together. I really enjoyed my food and the barn itself is beautiful! Some of the party I were with prefer bland food (non complex flavours) and this place is vibrant and flavourful. I wouldn't have known about this place if not for my Groupon voucher. Highly recommended.

Visited for Friday Steak Night. Excellent value for money, £30 for two, Steak and trimmings plus bottle of house wine. Quality and quantity far surpassed expectations . Lovely venue and attentive staff without being intrusive. Very impressed.
Lynn J — Google review
Went for dinner and we were the only ones there so didn't do great for the atmosphere but the service was great. We did get the wrong tables food but this was soon realised and taken to the correct table, lucky as my wife was just about to cut in to her pork dish. I had the lamb and the portion was tiny, just 2 small strips of meat, it was very tasty but certainly wasn't a great size dinner. The pork portions were a lot better and I do wish I'd ordered this dish, but the duck we also ordered was very dry and the potatoes were hard. I feel for the prices they charge for their food the quality and portion should improve. We have been here many times over the years but feel this will now be the last.
Rob S — Google review
I'd been here on my own several years ago and found everything to be excellent. I was looking for somewhere to book to take a good friend for a birthday lunch that she hadn't been to before. Due to us both being cautious with Covid rules, we were more than pleased with social distancing, temperature taking and mask wearing from entering the reception area and throughout. Staff were pleasant and efficient, we weren't rushed, menu excellent as was the food, couldn't fault anything. Good prices too. My friend loved it and felt safe and will definitely be returning. Beautiful rooms and lodges if you want a nice relaxing stay. Well done to all. Kathy D, Norfolk.
Kathy D — Google review
Lovely venue and atmosphere. However they also have undertrained staff and overpriced food for what you get. Stood at the door for a good 5 minutes waiting to be seated with staff walking past and no acknowledgement which set us off on a bad note. The service was slow which the manager did warn us about saying they were very busy and there would be a wait but the restaurant was only half full. Not impressed with the steak at all, was unable to cut through and hardly ate any of it but was still charged full price. The lemon cheesecake was amazing though. Unfortunately we won't be returning.
Jess P — Google review
Looked nice Location nice, we popped by in the afternoon for a coffee, we sat down had a coffee and tea to peruse the evening menu, as we was going to eat their that evening, the doors were left wide open and it was cold, staff were moving chairs around banging them around dragging some forgetting there are people there, and the service was sloppy not a great impression. So we decided to eat elsewhere that evening.

Pizza Hut is a family-friendly chain known for its made-to-order pizzas. The restaurant has vegan options available, and the all you can eat buffet is a steal. Well worth it.
Haven't been to a Pizza Hut for years as the ones where I used to live closed! So having moved to Lowestoft we thought we would try it. It was a Friday evening, not very busy and food was lovely and staff friendly. We both got salad from the unlimited salad bar which was fresh, well presented with lots of choice, pizzas were nice as was fries. As we went for a deal we saved room for pudding so took half the pizza home for lunch next day (which went down nicely!). The puddings again were nice, only thing my husband ordered warm brownie but it wasn't warm, still nice. Would definately recommend and definately we will return at some point.

Basic pizza place. Food was hot, but nothing to rave about. Limited tables available, but not busy. Understand some maybe reserved but for when? No-one sat at them for at least an hour. Service with a smile. 25% blue light discount, but not on the deals. Toilets clean. Not rushing back though.

Visited this restaurant on 08/04/2025. Had not been for at least a year. It is much improved. The food was always ok, but was really good this time, good choice for buffet, salad all fresh. biggest improvement was in the atmosphere and the welcoming helpful staff. Was served by Jess and Emiia

What a disappointment! We were looking forward to a delicious take-away pizza-we always order from here , when we're on holiday, camping 5minutes away. We've always thought it dreadfully expensive, but so worth it. Not tonight- cold, tasteless with a floury tasting base & we played 'hunt the pepperoni ' on a £30 pizza. Awful.
Suzanne L — Google review
Pizza hut can often be hit and miss, but this was my best ever visit to one. Ordered using the QR code which was a doddle. If people cant use that system they clearly have issues. Within a minute of putting my order in, my drinks were brought to the table. Salad bar was fully stocked, all clean and tidy. Pizzas came piping hot and perfectly cooked. Staff checked in on us to make sure everything was fine. Couldnt fault it.

Not local to the area but our hotel recommended. Generous sized portions and a really good amount of quality meat in the dishes which makes a change from others we have tried. Delivered to us and nice and hot. Would definitely use again if in the area

East Point Pavilion is a vibrant gem along the seafront, perfect for those looking to unwind after a day at the beach. This lively venue offers an array of delicious street food options, from Mexican and Indian cuisine to tempting pastries and desserts. With its inviting atmosphere, East Point Pavilion also hosts live music events and open mic nights that add to its community spirit.
Super nice spot to check out on the seafront. We throughly enjoyed it. Stopped by here with friends last week while parked up by the seafront & it was lovely - we had a drink from the bar, purchased some tasty local grub from pop up food shops, got some fab pics & had a good chat with the manager who seemed a really nice & genuine guy. All the staff in this place were very friendly & welcoming for that matter too. Impressed with the bathroom facilities as well as they were really clean & hygienic which isn't always the case. Being in the winter now it was quite quiet when we arrived but upon leaving a good hour or so later it was much busier. This place is probably packed in the summer months with more going on such as live music & more food options along with more tourists. We were really glad we found the pavilion and decided to check it out. Thanks to all the staff.

The staff of Black Dog were absolutely brilliant, very polite and incredibly proffessional. They made us feel welcome and the food was lovely. The Toby's Bears where also incredibly cheerful, welcoming and very friendly! The atmosphere is very welcoming the furniture and layout spacious and comfortable. Even the toilet facilities where clean and well kept!

I've been in and out of here all through the weekend as it's opened during the first light festival and there's been so much choice from the different food outlets! Great burger and outstanding fries from oisihi kitchen, loved the pulled pork tacos at hermanas, pizza bases from black dog deli are superb and I had a couple of the different toppings which were quality. Mostly I've been snacking on the run and planet ouef (love that name!) Takeaway scotch eggs and sausage rolls in various options have kept me on the go. Only had the opportunity for one beer at Sir Toby's, their Pavilion beer commemorative ale so far but will return when I can sit and chill. Beautifully redone inside and way better than the old white elephant! Toilets are great, inside and outside sitting spaces are great and all the staff are really happy. Well done and thank you for turning this place into somewhere to go!

I came in for lunch and had the Rainbow Bowl from Tres Hermanos. I didnt have any filling with it, but it was more than ample food for a lunch. It looked beautiful and tastes delicious. Its a lovely place to come for some food and drink and look out over the North Sea. Also, the toilets are spotless.

Refurbished and reopened in June 2022 as an indoor open plan area with a variety of great food outlets in mock market stalls, including pizzas, Asian food and Mexican food. A bar too selling decent craft ales on draft as well as a beer fridge. Guest DJs often play music whilst you site and have a bite to eat and a drink and well ventilated. This redevelopment offers something completely different to what the Lowestoft townsfolk are used to and hopefully it will be supported by them. Its also great for visitors to the area in offering something a little different to the usual expected seaside fare.

The beer festival wasn't the largest I have been to local selection of fine ales. But the time spent there heard a brilliant folk singers who were excellent 👍
