1Zeus is Loose Hostel

Youth hostel
Zeus is Loose Hostel, located in Thessaloniki, offers well-maintained dorms and private rooms. The hostel features a rooftop bar and an industrial-chic lounge. It's conveniently situated near the Byzantine Church of Agios Nikolaos Orphanos. Guests praise the cleanliness and thoughtful design of the dorms, as well as the friendly and helpful staff available 24/7.
I visited first time in Thessaloniki and stayed here first time in a hostel but it was an amazing experience. The hostel is in the prime location just few steps from bus station (if you are using public transport which is great here), nice common space, they also have bar on roof top which was all packed up when I visited and staff is fantastic, like to visit another time too. Totally recommended to solo travellers and also with friends and family.

Our room was small but cozy (we booked a double), though the noise from the neighboring rooms was quite disturbing. The reception staff provided only very basic service (they barely greeted us at the entrance). On the other hand, the bar and restaurant staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was excellent.
Din L — Google review
👍 The location is great - just a 15min walk from the train station or 5min by metro, and everything is within a walking distance. It's right next to one of the main roads' bus stops and a metro station. 👎 We booked a private room to be able to sleep better but the doors aren't noise insulated at all so we could barely sleep. We spent the first night at a room on the first floor where we heard all the noises so we asked for a quieter room. Unfortunately, it turned out that the window in the new room was broken which we didn't realize until we came back to the hostel to sleep and we then stayed up all night because the room was full of mosquitos. 👎 I'd also like to note that because of how the bunk beds are designed, it's not the easiest to climb up or down to the top bunk (and we say this as climbers). There should be a railing for the top bunk to make it easier for accessing it and safer to sleep up there. 👍 The bathrooms are nice and modern with spacious showers - it seems like that's the case for all the rooms which is great! 👍 The upstairs common area is a rather chill area where you can also do some work. Would be nice though if they had some background music instead of dead silence (especially since it's an echo-y space). 👉 My advice is, for the private rooms, don't stay at the room on the first floor and inspect your room properly when you check-in so you don't loose your sleep.
Maria — Google review
Everything was perfect ! The room was clean and the bed was confortable . This hostel location is very nice, everything is doable by walk. Employees are nice and really caring ! There is a very nice view to chill and socialize at the 6th floor of this hostel.
Louis-marie T — Google review
We loved this hostel, stayed here twice. The vibe of the place is great. The staff is incredible. The rooms are clean. And when you shower your toilet doesn't get wet!
Corey — Google review
If you’re looking for a centrally located hostel where you can get everywhere on foot, this is your place. Breakfast was surprisingly good (though priced higher than nearby places). The common area and rooftop bar were exceptional. Our drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was great. Rooms are clean. The one main con is that the bed (in the private room) is squeaky. If you’re with someone, everytime they move, you will move as well. Noise also travels easily and if people come back late or leave early, you’ll hear it. That being said, it’s definitely one of the nicer hostels I’ve stayed at.

Awesome hostel — big communal kitchen, cool rooftop bar, privacy curtains at each bed, and large under-bed lockers. A good place to start if you travel alone.

We had a very nice experience with this Hostel, we had some technical issues related to our travels and they were very accommodating and we really appreciate their support. Looking forward to engaging them again in the future :-) thank you all for your help and support!

Youth hostel
The Stay Hybrid Youth Hostel is a great option for budget-conscious travelers looking for a fun and youthful atmosphere in Thessaloniki, Greece. It's well-maintained with modern facilities, friendly staff, and convenient location. Guests will appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms and common areas, as well as the availability of elevators. Market close by and pharmacy are also appreciated.
During my recent stay at the hostel, I was particularly impressed by the professionalism and hospitality of the reception staff, especially Virginia and Vaso. From the very beginning, they provided exceptional service, ensuring a smooth and pleasant check-in experience and offering valuable assistance throughout my stay. Virginia demonstrated outstanding professionalism and attentiveness, always willing to help with any inquiries or requests. Vaso, equally courteous and welcoming, contributed greatly to the warm and inviting atmosphere of the hostel. Their commitment to guest satisfaction and their friendly yet respectful manner made a lasting impression. It is rare to encounter such dedicated and genuinely caring staff members. I would highly recommend this hostel not only for its facilities but also for the remarkable service provided by Virginia and Vaso.

Very good Hotel overall! We had a good experience most of the time .Very affordable with good hospitality. The only negative thing was the room....it didn't had very good soundproof walls or door and at night we can hear the other room doors closing all the time and footsteps outside ... And that problem need to be fix , otherwise pretty clean and had all the basic,if you want just a standard hotel with bed to sleep and have a shower its very good option for a 2 star hotel,in the center of the city, close to everything.
Mike D — Google review
I had such a wonderful stay here! The staff are absolutely perfect – so kind, helpful, and always available if you need anything. The hostel is clean, cozy, and has a really warm atmosphere. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable, and I knew I could always turn to the team for help or advice. The location is excellent, close to everything you might need, and the rooftop is a lovely spot to relax and meet other travelers. Highly recommended!
נועה פ — Google review
My experience at this hostel was unfortunately not the best, mainly because of the other guests staying there. To be fair, the front desk staff was absolutely lovely — always friendly, welcoming, and smiling. They really made a good first impression. However, the problem was with the people sharing the room. During my stay, the atmosphere was far from what you’d expect in a youth hostel. Most of the people were grumpy, unpleasant, and acted as if they owned the room, making me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. At times, it even felt like they were trying to bully me. One older man, who spent most of his time playing video games (which I respect), constantly complained about any noise, both in the room and the common areas. Another guest wandered around acting like a security guard, keeping an eye on everyone’s belongings, which felt invasive and awkward. Honestly, it didn’t seem like these people were travelers — it felt more like they were long-term residents staying there for other reasons. Because of this, I would recommend that anyone considering this hostel contact the management beforehand to ask about the type of guests currently staying there. It can really change your experience. On top of that, I noticed some management issues: there was barely any cutlery available (only one of each item), and some of the toilets ran out of toilet paper. For the price per night, I expected better basic services. I’ve paid less in other hostels and had a much more pleasant stay. Overall, it’s a shame because the staff is great, but the environment created by the other guests and some management oversights made my stay uncomfortable.

I stayed in a private room at stay. I have dozens of bites all over my body, still itching like hell even one week after staying there. Looking at examples on google, the bites seem like they're from either fleas or bedbugs. I was promised that the rooms are clean and even new after renovation. Obviously they're not. The room was covered in carpet and it smelled a funny, I guess it's my fault for not taking it seriously enough. The hostel's location was good but it's obviously not worth it.
Alon M — Google review
I stayed in this hostel due to my aim for a hotel bedroom in Thessaloniki cost more than 150 euros due to some event on the night I arrived. Considering that i will arrive late at night, i really hate throwing away 150 euros. No hostel neither found on the night, but I chose to email the hostel right away, and they kindly and promptly answered that there is 1 more bedroom. Thanks to the guy who is on duty that night on September 06th! Keep up the good work! I love the location very close to everywhere, friendly staff, clean, and spacious room and common area. Also come with a large locker.
Danny — Google review
The price is decent, but the showers are not clean, the shared showers and toilets are next to the balcony where everyone are smoking, and the water in the showers are never hot enough Except this it was nice, the people in the reception are nice and kind
Meowi M — Google review
Small cabins (I had a "big" with 1,5*3,5*2 m)) Very clean, shower and kitchen with all required. Parking at the hostel (payable), alimentary shop over the street, snack bars nearby. Good opportunity to stay over night, however relatively expensive for the hostel.

Nestled in the suburban area of Agios Pavlos, Crossroads Hostel offers a cozy and casual atmosphere with bright rooms and dorms featuring shared bathrooms. The hostel provides free Wi-Fi, a well-equipped kitchen, terraces, and a beautiful courtyard shaded by tall trees. With just two dorms and a private room, the small guesthouse exudes a homely feel. Guests can enjoy stunning views over the city from the terrace while savoring delicious coffee at the outdoor bar.
Definitely one of the best hostels I have stayed in. Felt right at home. Super cosy, the staff were so kind! and the owner is a legend. The beds are really comfortable and extremely clean. The location is amazing with the best view ever of the city. if you love a good sunrise or sunset this is the placee to be. The kitchen has everything you need, including excellent coffee. I'd come back to the city just to stay here. And its super affordable. i even extended my stay here because i loved it so much :]

One of the best bespoke small hostels I’ve stayed in! Cozy, well-managed, and genuinely feels like home. Friendly, kind, gentle and relaxed staff, who make everyone feel genuinely welcomed, simple rooms with lovely wooden beds (some with kitchenettes and balconies), great communal space, good Wi-Fi, and a sweet little café. Perfect location in the old town lovely relaxing quiet area, worth the uphill walk. very comfortable beds fresh linen i slept for 10-hours each night. There are buses that can go down into town but it's also a nice walk through the park or past the ruins, there are so many great cafés up there that I just didn't want to leave the old town. i extended my stay to be there 10/10!

If you’re looking for a chill, quiet, and homey hostel, this is the place! George and the girls have created such a wonderful environment. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are always clean, there’s a female only dorm that has a kitchen and it’s in a quiet part of the city. With panoramic views! Must visit!
Ana R — Google review
One of the best hostels I have ever been. I like a calm, peaceful stay. Considering that this is a small place, this was perfectly provided. It also had a really nice view over the city and the seaside, nice to sit out in good weather at the small cafe attached to the hostel. The owner and the employees are all extra helpful and friendly had really nice conversations with them. Kitchen, washing machine available, also coffee and alcoholic drinks at the cafe section. It might be challenging to walk up by people with disabilities, however there is a public transport bus that comes almost all the way. Nearby you can find parts of the Theodosian Walls and the castle. Sometimes people sit out to drink and have fun up there on the hillside during the night, especially weekends.
Farkas V — Google review
Great, clean hostel with a home vibe, the staff were very friendly. Only downside is that it's a bit far (30 min walk) from the city center, but if you don't mind the walk it's a great spot
John F — Google review
Great experience in this hostel. Squeaky clean, nice staff (although not super easy to find reliable information for transportation and things to see). The bathroom and lockers were wide and clean. Location just in front of the walls is interesting. This way you have a great view from the terrasse, but it is 20-30mins walking from the center (or less by bus). I think it was worth it
Benjamin L — Google review
Crossroads is not just a hostel, it’s an experience! From the very first moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the warm atmosphere and the feeling that this is a place made with love and attention to detail. The rooms and common areas were spotless and well maintained, while the décor gave the whole place a cozy and inviting character that instantly makes you feel at home. The staff was absolutely wonderful always smiling, helpful, and ready to share tips about the city, which made my stay even more enjoyable. One of my favorite parts was the small cafe inside the hostel, the cocktails were delicious and carefully crafted, making it the perfect spot to unwind. At the entrance, there is also a spacious common area with comfortable tables and couches, ideal for working, studying, or simply meeting other travelers. The location is excellent with perfect view , close to everything you need, quiet enough to relax after a busy day exploring. All in all, Crossroads combines everything you could wish for in a hostel: cleanliness, comfort, a friendly atmosphere, and little details that make all the difference. It’s not just a place to stay, it’s a place to live. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Jetpak Alternative Eco Hostel is a top-rated accommodation in Thessaloniki, conveniently situated near popular landmarks like Aristotelous Square and the Church of Agios Dimitrios. Guests praise its prime location in the vibrant area of the city, with comfortable beds and impeccable bathrooms. The hostel features a well-maintained lounge area with a kitchen where guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast. Visitors appreciate the spacious rooms, high ceilings, and unique decor of this beautiful building.
Highly recommend this hostel! One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. It’s a beautiful building with spacious rooms, high ceilings and unique tiles. The bed is very big, comfortable and there’s a lot of floor space to pack your bags. The location is perfect as it’s near all the main attractions, food places and bus stops. The showers, floors and beds are very clean. The first floor lounge is nice and homely, with some fresh fruits and jams available - such an very inviting space to chill and eat. Most notably, the owner is very hospitable and sweet. She provides all guests with free coffee from her espresso machine and is very attentive when guests need help. Shout out to Sofia for being so friendly and helpful as well! This hostel was honestly the highlight of our trip to Thessaloniki. Thank you Jetpak Alternative for this amazing experience :)
Morgan E — Google review
Totally normal, decent hostel - I was a little thrown by the existing reviews being so sharply divided between "best ever!" and terrible, so wanted to add a middle ground. The location is good - just off a main street with bus stops, 5 minute walk to the boardwalk, ~10 minutes to Agya Sofya; there are lots of bars/cafes/restaurants around - building is well insulated for regular street/restaurant noise, but if a nightclub is having a big thumping party, it'll come through. The building itself is a little odd -- feels kind of half empty and half renovated, but all the basics are solid ; effective AC, enough bathrooms; hot water; clean; comfy beds. They've definitely fixed whatever bedbug problem from the reviews a few years ago. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Caroline C — Google review
Highly recommend this hostel! Very friendly atmosphere, got immediately a warm welcome, from the owner. The living room was very chill to hang out, and there were many books around and a roof terrace. The hostel is build in an old shopping mall from the 1920's(?) And some beautifull details around from that era. The owners dog is a cuddly sweety. This Hostel was not just a stayover, but truly a hearthwarming homely place where i met amazing people and felt like i could stay waaay longer there!

Great hostel, affordable clean, comfy beds, really nice people working there, excellent location near great bars and restaurants. The owners have experience running hostels in Berlin which bring a German sensibility to the space. I look forward to spending more time at Jetpack when I return to Thessaloniki.

Staying at Jetpak Alternative in Thessaloniki was a fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere that sets this hostel apart. The owner was incredibly kind—engaging in great conversations and offering morning coffee etc. :) The hostel has a wonderfully cozy feel, making it easy to connect with fellow travelers. The common spaces are well-designed, with a comfortable lounge area featuring large sofas—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. There’s also a shared kitchen stocked with essentials like tea, coffee, peanut butter, and biscuits, making mornings even more convenient. A charming touch is the collection of books in various European languages, adding to the hostel’s character. The dorms are comfortable, with spacious beds, reliable Wi-Fi, and air conditioning to ensure a restful stay. If you’re looking for a place that values hospitality, comfort, and a friendly atmosphere, Jetpak Alternative is an excellent choice.

I've been to many hostels, but Jetpak Alternative is definitely one of the best ones ever! The hostel itself is great - it is located in the "hotspot" area of Thessaloniki, where all the young people are coming. It has very comfy beds and amazing bathrooms with great showers. It is so clean, that I've felt like being in a pharmacy at some point. The hostel has a lounge area with a kitchen (and free breakfast). It also has a rooftop where you can chill out and meet other folks, which is a very cool thing to have in hostels! The owner, Neil, is such a great guy. He helped me so much, and he even showed me around the hostel, which I have never experienced before. I have really enjoyed having a great conversation with Neil, and I am very grateful for everything. Overall, Jetpak Alternative is an excellent hostel

Highly recommend. Lovely hostel, the owner was delightful and helpful in recommending places around Thessaloniki. The room was lovely. Big bed and personal area. I find in hostels I don’t have much space to spread out. It was not the case at jetpak. Very relaxing to be able to spread out and repack my bag.

Perfect Location. The rooms with the balcony are really nice:) 2 showers 2 baths- clean!! Warm people♡ And an amazing outside terrace and enough space for work and play boardgames if you want.

Do NOT stay here unless you enjoy drug dealing, paper-thin walls, and the police showing up during your vacation. That’s exactly what happened during my stay a full-on scene that ended with law enforcement being called. And honestly? I wasn’t even surprised. The noise levels are unbearable. You can hear everything arguments, random footsteps, even people outside shouting at 3 AM. Zero soundproofing, zero peace. But the worst part? The area (and quite possibly the property itself) is crawling with drug activity. You can feel it in the air sketchy people coming and going, weird behavior, and an overwhelming sense of danger. This place should not be listed for rent. It’s a disgrace and a complete violation of basic safety standards. Staying here was not just uncomfortable it was disturbing and unacceptable. Avoid it like the plague.

Amazing place with everything you need and would like to have! At least for me;) What a lovely welcome by midnight, super helpful staff, comfy bed, super clean and comforting environment, yummy breakfast with selection, beautiful common space with terrace and garden, best central location with sights directly around and still quiet, very aesthetic style,… could go on forever - thanks for creating this space ✨🙏🫶

Extremely convenient location: right next to one of the city's main arteries - Egnatia (Εγνατία) - close to Rotonda, airport bus, metro, coast etc. The lovely and friendly staff at the reception and in the bar/café. After check-out, you can leave your luggage at the reception for free until the evening, or sit in the hostel's café garden, order something from the bar (good prices!) or just surf the Internet. The room has a fridge, air conditioning and TV.

Daily transfer to CBD complimentary , check schedule at front desk changes daily All in all a very pleasant experience in this quality Hotel. Couldn't fault anyone or anything. Highly recommend.

Exceptional stay at The Met Hotel! Impeccable service from start to finish — warm and professional front desk, friendly restaurant and pool staff, and spotless rooms. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Huge thanks to Nikos at the front desk for helping us immediately when we left cash in the room safe — he handled it with true professionalism. This hotel offers top-tier comfort, care, and style. Highly recommended!

What can I say? I booked the day of rest where you can have a massage package and enjoy the gym, hammam, pool and rooftop bar. It was the best day I have had in Thessaloniki. The service was top tier, the attendant at the desk-George, was incredibly attentive and anticipated every single detail, and the other guests enjoying the area were respectful and only engaged after asking me if I wanted to talk. The rooftop bar had a beautiful view, and the two ladies behind the bar were lovely and very professional. You can enjoy yourself for the full day and the massage includes a facial. If you book the massage, the 30 minute massage is the style where your neck and back are manipulated or "cracked," so that's something to bring up if you are not used to that specific massage. The masseuse was efficient and professional, assertive and knew how to read the room. I didn't have one bad experience with any of the staff, the guests or the facilities. The only thing I would like to have done was to try the gym, but after the rooftop, food and sun, I went back to the downstairs pool for a swim and then had to tap out. All in all, if you need a day of rest, come to the MET. It's a whole reset.

Without question the worst service I’ve ever had. When I was greeted last night the man who helped get me set up at my room was fantastic. But the next morning was abhorrent. There were cleaners outside my room for 5 hours and the woman at reception couldn’t speak a word of English so was unable to communicate with her at all. Also extremely discriminatory. But that’s expected at a place like this. EDIT: I shall reply to your comment under this as I don’t want to get into a back and forth under email. I was told the night before I could check out at 1PM. That wasn’t a gesture of goodwill, I was told a late check out was at my disposal so I used it. Also, the receptionist could not speak English. All she understood was the money I handed her. Every time I spoke she kept in saying, “sorry?”. She didn’t understand anything I was saying. Was unable to communicate with her my situation in the appropriate manner. I’ve also edited the location to a one star because trying to walk around that area is an atrocity. And in addition my room was 226, the cleaners were outside it all morning. Was unable to do a morning meditation because they were so loud.

I originally booked a regular room, which turned out to be smaller than expected – partly my own oversight. After raising this with management, they were quick to offer me an upgrade, which made a big difference to my stay. The staff were very attentive and eager to ensure a pleasant experience.

The room was perfect, had everything we needed ( Executive Suite ), clean. The rooftop pool is great with a good view on the city from a far. Breakfast was very good. Staff is of the charts, best of the best. Inside pool was also nice, just not a lot of space. They have fast wifi. They also provide a free shuttle to the city, yes i would also change the hours to be later as well, but in the end 6-7 eur taxi won’t hurt anyone from the city to the hotel. Its in a quiet place, and rooms are also soundproof. Nearby is a small market that works most of the time (5min walk ). We enjoyed our stay a lot. The only donwnside was the area it is in. There isn’t much to do. If you want your peace we totally recommend it.
C9 P — Google review
I came expecting a five star experience. Unfortunately this falls way below the mark. Where to begin. The rooms feel very tired and outdated. The lighting is very low and dim, even in the bathroom. The finish and details are nowhere near five star. Old TV, no coffee machine in the room (it’s 2025 and a small coffee machine costs €50), ridiculous water faucets from the 1980’s (one for hot water, one for cold) with a modern design, NO proper shower!!!!!, tiny rooms, antique key system that takes you back to the 90’s, to name a few. I have stayed in rented apartments that were way above and beyond what this so called five star hotel offers in terms of comfort and convenience at half the price or less. I can compare this to an Ibis hotel or a Holiday Inn. The rooftop pool and bar close at 6… in the summer. 5 umbrellas for a whole hotel. In 37 degree heat. The surroundings are docks, warehouses and a very noisy road. Forget about walking to the center. It is a challenge and doesn’t feel safe at night. I will definitely NOT be returning, and I would definitely NOT have written this review if the hotel was actually 5 stars. The reason I wrote this is that the expectation and price do NOT justify the experience and it’s frankly a misleading advertisement.

Arabas Studios is a charming hostel located in the Old Town of Thessaloniki. The traditional mansion offers cozy dorms and private rooms, featuring rustic decor and a courtyard patio with sea views. Guests can enjoy bike rentals and various beach and city tours to explore the area. The warm welcome, sense of community, and openness of the staff create a homely atmosphere, making it a favorite among travelers.
I went to this hostel because it was nearby the Ministery and close to the train station. I will be back, the crew are really friendly. Shout out to Dawoud great french guy, he made me discover nice street food in Thessaloniki. Overall the hostel is nice, well furnished. Lot of cats to pet outside in the street. I recommend.

All you could want from this kind of hostel/studio accommodation. I loved and enjoyed my stay here, for a whole week. All travelers are open to chat, great community of volunteers. Rooms are clean. Even dorms has a balcony/patio you can sit in the evenings. Good location within the city, not in loud central part but not far away from city center. I recommend to all future guests.🏡🔥🇬🇷

It's a hostel with a nice view over Thessaloniki and the sea. The road to it is quite difficult as the streets are narrow and uphill, also parking nearby is hard to find. The rooms are clean and large enough and the AC cools it down well. The location is also an advantage due to the fact that it's in the old town and tourist attractions are a short walk away.

Really cool hostel tucked away in the quiet backstreets. Super warm and friendly staff and good vibe overall!

Very comfortable beds, slept well. Thessaloniki is a hot, but they had decent AC. Not in city center so it is a 7+ minute walk to food or anything. Friendly staff and cute cats.

Hostel Arabas is THE hostel experience, both if you are a traveler and come as a guest or as a volunteer. It is perfectly small for the guests and staff to meet and have fun with each other, the location is great, the place is very charming, the owner is great and has a really nice natural and coherent way of running a hostel and creating a good atmosphere. A treasure and a hub where extrovertedness exists together with a homely, chill atmosphere, where you can meet a lot of international people and experience Thessaloniki while staying in the Old upper town - in my opinion the cutest part of a in general great city!
Solvej L — Google review
Well, for 46€ a night it has its goods and bads. The service was great. The owner was really communicative, welcoming and had a nice way of running the place. Everyone was chill and the vibe was the right one for what a hostel should be. BUT…On the negative side, my room smelled soooo baddd!!! I dont know if it was only mine or if that was the case with all the rooms, but mine smelled like … the closest thing i can describe it as is a garlic you left on the kitchen counter for too long.
Klajdi A — Google review
The hostel is located in a beautiful part of the city. If you go all the way up the hill, you‘ll get amazing views over the city, if you go down, you‘ll be in the city center in 15min ! You have some space to hang out, outside or inside, both places are very charming :) I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Arabas. You‘ll get in touch with people quickly ^^ Hoping to visit again soon!!

Nestled in the vibrant Aristotelous Square, Electra Palace Thessaloniki offers luxurious accommodation with a touch of history and modern elegance. The hotel's architecture seamlessly blends neoclassical and Byzantine influences, reflecting the rich heritage of its surroundings. Recently renovated, the interior exudes timeless sophistication with marble floors and spacious rooms adorned with walnut woods. The Orizontes Roof Garden Restaurant Bar on the top floor provides breathtaking views of the Thermaic Gulf.
The location of this hotel cannot be beat. Beautiful views of the water and located near several shops, restaurants, and places to tour. Several wonderful tours have their meeting/pick up location within walking distance. The rooms are nice and very clean. The sound proofing is excellent. There is lots of activity in the evenings nearby but we did not hear any of the noise. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with so much to choose from. The concierge staff are extremely helpful in arranging transportation and sightseeing tours. We received regular communication from the time we made our reservation through a post stay email. Excellent customer service.

It’s truly a wonderful place. The rooms are small, not everyone on the staff was great, but there were some people because of whom I would never go back to this hotel. The restaurant offers a stunning view of the city, and I would like to highlight a girl from the restaurant staff named Nina — she was the best, exceptionally polite and responsible toward the guests. It would be great if everyone were as professional as she is.

Stayed 2-5 September 2025 in a standard double (no sea view). We found the hotel to be very smart, very clean, with very polite staff and a great central place to stay for exploring Thessaloniki. Good choice of foods at the breakfast buffet and a plentiful supply of coffee provided. If we visit the city again, we will stay here but next time we'll book a sea view room with a balcony. Thoroughly recommended!

Wow - fantastic. This was an excellent place to stay for 5 nights. From the moment we arrived at this luxury hotel we were warmly welcomed. The staff were very friendly; the service was first class: and the various hotel amenities were not lacking in any way possible. The location is very central to everything and ideal for a short or long stay. It was perfect.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of July before heading to Skopelos by ferry. We're a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Electra palace and won't hesitate to recommend or indeed stay again. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were very well appointed and beds extremely comfortable. Every member of staff was super polite, helpful and friendly. The breakfast in the lovely rooftop restaurant/bar area was excellent. A bonus having a rooftop pool in a city hotel - obviously it's not huge (or deep!) but we were very glad of it. Location wise the hotel is excellent, particularly if you're heading to an onward ferry. No hesitation in a 5 star review.

Another amazing stay at Electra Hotel Thessaloniki! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming – special thanks to Alexia and Spyro from Guest relations who made everything feel extra special. The rooms are beautiful, the bar and food excellent, and the breakfast is just incredible. The views are stunning, and the service is consistently warm and professional. It’s always a joy to come back here – we can’t wait for our next visit!

I was dreaming about this hotel and what a disappointment I got having the smallest room without sea view, is not their fault ofcourse is just overcrowded for OXI day, but nevertheless the breakfast could be better for such a level, unfortunately we found the fresh orange juice quite watery, the smoked beacon wasn't fresh, but the view is really fantastic from the restaurant... Many people out of the hotel were trying to visit the restaurant during the night, but some of them were rejected since there were no seats... We also enjoyed the SPA of the hotel with extremely hot pool and sauna, unfortunately is available simultaneously only for 6noeople therefore you have to book it in advance... Another issue is that it starts working at 11:00 when check out starts, so if you are leaving this is impossible to enjoy it same day, fortunately we were provided late check out at 12:00 by friendly personnel and managed to cover the program...

City Hotel Thessaloniki is a chic and serene retreat in the heart of the city, near Aristotelous square. The hotel has been extensively refurbished to offer a tranquil hideaway with a cool feeling of serenity. It features hip rooms and suites, some with balconies, as well as a restaurant/bar and spa. Embracing an eco-friendly lifestyle, the hotel exudes urban sophistication with nature-inspired decor and contemporary amenities.
I am writing to share my exceptional experience at City Hotel Thessaloniki. The booking was arranged by Tryfonas K from Golden City Star Resort in Perea, Greece, and I was incredibly impressed with the service. Upon my arrival, Iordana D, the Front Office Manager at City Hotel, provided an incredibly warm and energetic welcome. She was kind enough to upgrade my room during check-in. When I mentioned that Tryfonas K had made the booking, she shared that she was his former manager, which instantly explained his outstanding helpfulness in arranging my stay. Iordana's excellent training clearly contributed to his remarkable service. Beyond the seamless check-in, Iordana also offered invaluable guidance on navigating the city, recommending fantastic places to visit and restaurants to try. All of her suggestions proved to be excellent. The hotel itself was perfect: conveniently located near all major attractions, restaurants, and shops. It was modern, comfortable, and exceptionally clean. I highly recommend City Hotel Thessaloniki for anyone visiting the area. I truly believe Iordana is an amazing manager. Her positive energy and willingness to assist made my stay incredibly enjoyable, and it's clear her influence extends to her former staff, like Tryfonas, who is now a star at his own hotel.

Stayed here 3 nights while on a pilgrimage tour of Greece with my church group. The location was great being right in the heart of Thessaloniki near the waterfront. Everything from shops, bars and restaurants was within good walking distance. The rooms were also comfortable and we were amused at the motivational quotes plastered on the mirrors in the hallways. Since renovations were being done to the hotel’s restaurant, we ended up having breakfast and dinner at hotels across the street. Despite this, our overall stay at the City was excellent.

Great Value and Perfect Location! City Hotel Thessaloniki is right in the heart of the city — just steps away from restaurants, shops, and major attractions. If you want to be in the center of the action, this is the perfect place to stay. While the rooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side, they are clean, well-maintained, and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The overall experience definitely justifies the price. It’s a smart choice for travelers who value location and convenience. I would definitely stay here again!

Very Disappointing – Not Worth the Price The room was tiny, dark, and had no natural light. There was only one small window facing another building less than two meters away, with a roof above it blocking any daylight. It felt suffocating, with no fresh air or brightness at all. For more than €100 per night, this is unacceptable. Definitely not worth the money and nothing like the pictures shown online.

great staff - the lady at the reception changed my room urgently after a minor problem, as compensation and a birthday present she allowed me to have breakfast at the sister hotel Excelsior. The hotel is undergoing renovations, which sometimes disturbed the clients, but everything was done with the greatest possible consideration. I completely forgot about the minor negatives, because of the caring staff. Especially Dimitris at the reception was very helpful, professional and friendly. As a solo traveler I really appreciate such staff. My room was quite large, clean, well equipped, with a nice, large balcony. The hotel is centrally located, by the sea/port - great location for trips (beware the sea is close but the beach is not)

My stay at Thessaloniki City Hotel was wonderful!(3 day) The staff were so friendly and helpful, always welcoming with a smile. The hotel is spotless and well maintained, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and tasty every morning. The location is also perfect — you can walk everywhere in the city, which made exploring Thessaloniki so easy. Truly a great experience and i’d love to stay again!

The hotel is currently being refurbished, so one lift was non-operational, and there was construction equipment around. However, our stay was enjoyable, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Rooms were clean and modern. Great breakfast. Will definitely return.

My wife and me stayed there two nights. 27.10.2025 check in 29.10.2025. We did not like the lady at reception, who was to eager to collect the money at arrival, before we could park our car. Also the breakfast the first morning was overcrowded and the waiters were unable to handle this mass of customers. It was a little fight to get a clean table. The bellboys were very helpful for baggage. The rooms were very small, but very clean. The bed was very comfortable. We would stay there again.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Thessaloniki, Hotel Kastoria is a charming destination for travelers seeking both comfort and convenience. This historic building offers a cozy atmosphere that resonates with the city's rich cultural heritage. With 40 functional rooms, guests can enjoy easy access to local attractions, shopping areas, and lively nightlife—all just a short stroll away. While the accommodations are simple and budget-friendly, they provide essential amenities like free Wi-Fi throughout the property.
Walking distance to pretty much everywhere. The rooms are reasonable. We stayed in a room with 4 beds and a private bathroom for 60 euros in August, but most rooms seem to have no private bathroom. There was no hair dryer in the rooms, but there were shampoos, soaps and towels. They marked it as they have a parking area but they don't, it's just one parking space with signs on it and they don't let you park there. Parking is a problem in this area in general so keep that in mind, we had to roam around for more than 20 minutes to find an available space.
Yiğit K — Google review
This hotel is in a good location, but has some serious downsides. The first (and most unacceptable) is that our room did not actually lock! The doorknob could be turned with any key - or even a pin or piece of metal. Having rooms that cannot lock is terrifying. Apart from the fact that any key seems to open every door, the rooms were small but comfortable enough and the service was good. For a low price, it was pretty good. I would recommend any other budget hotel over this one just because of the lack of security and safety.
Larry B — Google review
The hotel has a perfect central location, close to everything, and the reception staff were always smiling and helpful — they promptly gave us a hair dryer when we asked. The price is also very affordable, so in terms of price-performance, it’s quite good. However, there are some serious downsides. The street outside is very busy and there is no soundproofing at all — we could hear all the traffic noise even if the windows were closed. Also, the room doors are very old, and we could hear every conversation from the hallway inside the room. Many guests struggled to lock their doors, making a lot of noise, though luckily ours was easy to lock. When we first entered the room, we found some hair in the bathroom, which was disappointing. In summary: very central and budget-friendly, but not ideal if you’re looking for peace and quiet or modern comfort.

The Caravan B&B Thessaloniki is a charming property located in a neoclassical building dating back to 1929. Originally a travelers' inn, it has been renovated and now offers an eclectic mix of contemporary and classical decor. The B&B provides a range of affordable room sizes, making it suitable for families. Situated in the city center, it offers convenient access to Aristotelous Square and other main attractions.
Very clean (probably newly renovated) rooms, excellent service with a friendly staff. And as a smoker myself I appreciated that they had an ashtray outside the room’s balcony (yes the rooms have balconies) It’s right at the center of the city which is great. And yes! finally a hotel that is relaxed about its breakfast hours (for us that like to sleep in!) The food was amazing and delicious which was served rather than self service. I believe its restaurant doubles as a brunch restaurant which is very practical and smart.

The Caravan is a cosy, esoteric and terribly friendly B&B right in the middle of Thessaloniki. We chose a family room which was definitely worth the extra 20 euros. The service in the hotel is good. We asked for the room at the back side and they kindly gave us one. Parking is behind the hotel, and it’s 25€ for a day for an SUV. The rooms are quiet, clean and well-ventilated which is important for us in the summer. The shower in our room was a bit small and my bed was small and squeaky. Other two beds were comfy, so only the 3rd bed is a bit poorer. That’s why 4/5. Generally, we were happy with the location and what we got in El Greco :)
Ivona G — Google review
I am afraid I cannot recommend this hotel due to several concerns. The beds were quite old, making it difficult to relax. Furthermore, the air conditioning was not functioning correctly, and despite reporting the issue, I was informed that it was operating normally through a central unit, with no possibility of adjustment. The breakfast selection was also quite limited.
Andreas G — Google review
We stayed there for only 1 night. It was good enough for short stays. The receptionist who welcomed us was great. He helped us to find a restaurant to eat and it was really a great restaurant. We were very content. The hotel's elevators are really very neat. Only 2 people can hardly fit in.the rooms are comfortable. It is near the sea ( 7-8 minutes of walking)and there are many restaurants or cafes nearby. The breakfast had enough varieties. The hotel doesn't have many parking lots but there are paid parking places around. We had a pleasant stay.
Pelin S — Google review
Other than location and a place to rest your head there was no "Hotel" experience. The facilities in the bathroom are old and could not adjust the height of the shower head, parts falling and the worst part half warm water in the evening and none in the morning. The receptionist told me there is a problem but didn't even appologize. A paint scratch on the bed hidden by the pillows so you would not notice it when you check in. The doors are not sound proof at all so you can here all the noise from the hall and as my room was near the staircase everyone running up or down sounded as if they were in my room. I guess you can find better options for a budget hotel in Thessaloniki

Amazing hotel. The view was spectacular. The service was impeccable, amenities in the room were wonderful and included all the little extras that a 5-star hotel should have like turn-down service and wonderful bath robes etc. the breakfast was also excellent. Thanks for a lovely stay! We highly recommend

Our recent stay at the Daios was one of our most memorable experiences during our trip to Greece. The hotel offered a beautiful room, ours had a balcony with a brilliant sunset view. The service was excellent from all the staff but also all the small gestures of welcome the hotel offered us. We felt truly special. The most amazing breakfast too! The location was perfect, close to all tourist attractions but also in a part of Thessaloniki that was away from the mass tourist crowds. Great restaurants, bars and shopping nearby. A special thank you to Thomas who helped us with transfers and answered all our questions.

Little Big House is a charming guesthouse located in the picturesque district of Ano Poli in Thessaloniki. Originally an abandoned refugee home, it was transformed into a modern hostel in 2012. The highlight of this colorful place is its magical courtyard and lovely rooftop terrace, where guests and non-guests can enjoy homemade treats, coffee, refreshments, and alcoholic drinks.
What an amazing place! So in love! Easiest 5⭐, no questions asked! Big Alice in Wonderland vibes, amazing hostess, beautiful cats and great coffee, will always recommend! 😺🩷

what a treat to find this place off the beaten track up in the old town, it was exactly what i needed a little home comfort and a friendly greeting. they used to do rooms (which look adorable) but they do no longer. the cafe is brightly decorated and lots of cats. i ordered the omelette 🍳 which was so lovely on a wee plate with salad and local herbs chunky like a tortilla- very nice treat €9

I was passing through narrow streets of Thessaloniki, when I saw this beautiful and colorful building. I entered to have my breakfast there and was surprised in a good sense. A very cozy place, the owner was such a great lady , very talkative and welcoming. If you are in Thessaloniki, visit it !

i love this place so much, however the prices are on the higher side which is a pity considering that the drinks aren’t the best. the basque cheesecake is SO good though and worth the 5€. i love the cats, and the atmosphere & the waitresses are always really sweet :)

I love this place. Every time I go I leave so relaxed, it's amazing. Great coffee, great food, delicious cheesecake plus the nicest service.
Anya C — Google review
This was a part of the birthday present for my boyfriend. The food was really good and everything here is vegetarian or vegan! Prices were very nice and taste was great as well. The whole location is very instagramable, cute and colourful. We both love cats and we have never been to a cats cafe before. In Germany cats cafes have a questionable reputation as you don't know if the circumstances within the café would be fitted for the cats. However this one is absolutely perfect and I have never seen a more animal friendly approach before. The cats here come and go. There is food and other things for the cats here. Some of they stay longer or visit more often. Like guests! Generally, you can touch them. Some of they are very curious and also fond of humans and head scratches :) But other cats just won't let you simply because they don't know you. The cafe is located in an area with many private houses and no real streets. That's good for the cats so they are safe. It's also very quiet, clean and peaceful there. However for our german standards it's very hard to get to as we are not used to the extreme ups and downs of the streets in Greece but that's just personal preference and has nothing to do with the café. Would definitely visit again and highly recommend to everyone! Staff also speaks perfect English and the menu is in English as well so it's also tourist friendly. PS.: my boyfriend is sorry for breaking your pen :(

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Thessaloniki, Vanoro Hotel is a modern oasis that perfectly marries luxury with comfort. This upscale establishment boasts stylish accommodations and an array of amenities, including a delightful restaurant and bar, Anza Kitchen & Bar, where guests can savor exquisite culinary creations. Just a short stroll from iconic landmarks like Aristotelous Square and the bustling Ladadika area, Vanoro serves as an ideal launchpad for food lovers eager to explore the city's rich gastronomic scene.
We’ve came back again this year for 2 nights, everything was amazing just like the last year. Breakfast is great there is a variety of options to choose from as well as yummy coffee! Rooms are comfy and cozy, extremely clean. all of the staff we’ve encountered were so kind and friendly and supportive, whenever I asked for matches they always gave me one which I am so thankful! It’s literally at the center just 5 mins by walk to the square. One minus might be the street parking, but they’ve already stated that before the reservation so we were already aware of the parking situation, plus we found a free parking area just below the street which was nice, since parking is a general problem in Thessaloniki I wouldn’t call this as a minus though.

Excellent five-star hotel in the heart of Thessaloniki. The location is perfect for exploring the city, with everything within walking distance. Rooms are spotless and comfortable, breakfast is fresh and plentiful, and the staff are polite and always ready to help. A great choice for a central, clean, and welcoming stay.

The hotel is centrally located, the rooms are comfortable, and the staff is friendly. We thank the housekeeping lady for her friendly smile and assistance. Most importantly, I'd like to thank Mr. Dimitri and Ms. Aleksandra. They supported us in every way from the moment we arrived. Of course, I also thank the other receptionists. I even lost my passport one day, and they took great care of it, and I finally found it, thank God. In addition, the breakfast is indescribable and must be experienced. Whenever we come to Thessaloniki, this hotel will be our destination. See you again ❤️

We felt very welcome and comfortable at this hotel – even with our little baby. What stood out the most was how child-friendly the entire atmosphere was. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and accommodating, and we truly appreciated the care and attention we received throughout our stay. A big thank you to the reception team as well as the kitchen and restaurant staff – everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. The room was clean and quiet, the breakfast was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. We would happily stay here again and can fully recommend this hotel, especially for families with young children.

This was our second stay at Venoro Hotel, and we really enjoyed it again. We traveled all the way from the USA, and it was absolutely worth it. The room was sleek and very clean, and we felt truly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The location is super convenient — just a short walk to the center and restaurants. Breakfast was amazing, and my iced latte was honestly better than anywhere else we’ve had. We will definitely return!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Vanoro Hotel - A True Gem in Thessaloniki Vanoro Hotel is genuinely a 5-star experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional — the staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and always ready to help. The rooms are modern, spotless, and thoughtfully designed, and the elegant lobby gives a true boutique-luxury vibe. The breakfast? Absolutely insane. There were endless options to choose from — fresh, delicious, and unlimited! It felt more like a curated dining experience than a hotel breakfast. The location is also perfect — central, convenient, and ideal for exploring everything Thessaloniki has to offer. One fun note: our local tour guide was so impressed by the hotel during a quick visit that he immediately booked a staycation there with his wife for the following weekend! I would highly recommend Vanoro Hotel to anyone visiting the beautiful city of Thessaloniki. It far exceeded our expectations.

The service at this hotel was absolutely outstanding. The staff that work there couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Had a terrible experience at a supremely different yet equally rated hotel in Thessaloniki and my god the difference is night and day in terms of the staff members. The reason I’m giving the room 4 stars and not 5 is because there is only one English Channel on the TV and it’s 24hour BBC news, a little variety would be appreciated I’m sure for English speaking only guests. Or have Netflix added on so guests can sign in and out as they please.

A lovely hotel in an ideal situation. Not too big family run. Elizabeth was very helpful on the front desk, they take a great pride in their service. All the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very generous and delicious. Who could ask for more.

This is my fourth time staying at this hotel, and this time it was terrible. There was a water outage for more than 12 hours, and they don’t even have a water tank—how does this place have a five-star rating? Every time I come, I notice the food and service quality declining even more. At breakfast, it took 45 minutes just to get a simple sausage. The penthouse room (number 52) also had a strong cigarette smell. It was a very bad experience, and I will never come back. I definitely don’t recommend it to anyone expecting a five-star service.

My wife and I visited Thessaloniki this week, me for the first time. After much research online I chose the Excelsior Hotel. I'm sure there are many wonderful hotels in Thessaloniki but after our stay here I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. The hotel was incredible in every respect. It is centrally located, beautifully decorated, extremely clean, provided all the amenities we needed and the breakfast was extraordinary in my opinion. But most important to me was the service we received from the entire staff upon our arrival until our departure. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels during my career and have never experienced the level of service that we received at the Excelsior. If I owned a hotel I would want people like Ελισάβετ and Γιάννη managing the front desk and taking care of my guests. They both were so very welcoming, friendly, accommodating, professional and competent. Thank you to all the staff but particularly to Ελισάβετ και Γιάννη. We will definitely be staying at the Excelsior during our next visit to Thessaloniki. God bless you all.

The Atlantis Hotel, conveniently situated next to the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki and 20 km from Thessaloniki airport, offers comfortable and colorful rooms with amenities such as minifridges and complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel's central location provides easy access to popular retail areas and tourist attractions in Thessaloniki. While the facilities may seem basic, they are clean and provide all necessary amenities including comfortable beds, shower rooms, and TVs.
The facilities appear 'basic' .. bed, shower room, tv ... but, it's actually all you need! and its VERY clean. The bed is comfortable and I even had a small fridge in my room. A chambermaid will come and change your sheets in the morning and replenish your complimentary soap & shampoo. Towels are provided. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. You should not be disappointed with this place, unless you are expecting luxury fixtures and fittings. The location is slap bang in the middle of the City. You walk out of the door and you are amongst all the shops. There are coffee shops/cafes within a 2 minute walk The sea is 5 minutes walk away and there are so many things to see! The cost of a taxi from the airport to the location is between 20 - 25 euros (depending on Traffic). There is also a bus stop with buses to the airport on the doorstep (literally!! )

The only positive thing is that the hotel is at the center of the city. The rest is just terrible . I paid 40€ for a small room which had a double bed with very dirty sheets and pillow cases , room smelled of cigarette and was very dirty . The toilette smelled very bad and was very old . On top of all that , I paid with card and I asked for my money back since I stepped foot in the room and immediately left, and they told me that since I paid by card I can’t get my money back , but if I paid with cash they could give it back to me . Really bad experience !

Awful! I have stayed there in the past but it seems like they belive that they own a Hilton hotel or something! The prices are super high for what they offer nowadays. Also, the staff was extremely rude. I tried to ask for some directions during the night but there was a really old man who couldn't understand me. Great addition to the team I guess.... Avoid it at all costs!!!!

Located at the main road, Egnatia Street, it is easy to reach sights and entertainment places in a walking distance. If you're lucky to get a room towards the back side it's wonderfully peaceful. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Reception staff is friendly and supportive, which makes sightseeing a piece of cake. The only drawback of the hotel is the lacking elevator. Plus it is an old building with high ceilings. So walking up to third floor after a 15km walk through Thessaloniki might be challenging 😉
Susan K — Google review
The rooms smell of cigarettes, dirty air conditioners. The only plus is the good location. I rented a room to leave early in the morning for the airport, and the bus stop opposite the entrance allowed me to sleep 5 minutes longer
Илья А — Google review
The only reason I gave 2 stars and not one was the friendly and helpful people at the reception. We were given a room with a window leading to a narrow sort of space inside the building. At the very top of this space, there was a transparent roof, but which was too far away and too small to let any light into the room. Also this room never receives any fresh outside air. It felt like a prison cell, the only difference is we had the ability to leave whenever we liked, which we did. We chose to spend as much time outside as we could. And the little time we did spend there was unpleasant.
Cristian M — Google review
The room was a mess , all dirty and really bad looking, bed sheets where broken , lots of noise from the main road , no parking space , You will need to look at least 1 hour to park the car somewhere in the city. In 3 days no one came to clean the room or to pickup the garbage , check the photos.

Good location, clean. Beds are fine but there was no power outlet or shelf to put my stuff on by the bed. Also no lockers in the room. When I was there, there were like 3 other guest staying there, which mostly kept to themselves, so I didn't feel like it's the most sociable place if you're traveling solo. The White Tower of Thessaloniki is a historic Ottoman fortress and former prison that now houses an interactive exhibition showcasing the city's rich history. Situated on the city's waterfront, this iconic landmark was once part of a larger fortification and is believed to have been built in the fifteenth century after the Turkish conquest of Thessaloniki. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the sea from this location, making it a popular spot for enjoying drinks while taking in the scenery.
The most famous landmark of Thessaloniki with great panoramic views from the top. Inside you’ll find a small but interesting museum about the city’s history. Entry is €8, which is maybe a little bit expensive for the experience and the views

On the one hand, you must go here when visiting Thessaloniki. It is the most famous landmark of the city and has a lot of history attached to it. On the other hand, it is rather expensive (at €8) for what is a relatively small (but interesting) museum. But I have to say that the views from the top are terrific. So Yes - go!

A wonderful place to visit! The White Tower is full of history and beautifully presented inside with clear displays and interactive exhibits. Excellent attraction..6euro entry p.p. The walk up tonthe top with its several rooms and chambers along the way was really well worth it. You could easily spend 2 hours here going through the various write-ups & history. Some audio on English via your phone was available at key points. The views from the top are amazing. You see the length & breadth of the coast line and nearby hils. Apparantly you can see Mt. Olympus on a clear day...we were not so lucky.

A must place to visit if in town for the first time. The tower is multi leveled with each level having an exhibition of the city's history. There is also a museum shop that was not operating on the day we visited.

The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is a renowned institution housing an extensive collection of Greek art and artifacts dating up to late antiquity. The museum's central section showcases exhibits from excavations in Thessaloniki and Macedonia, including sculptures, architectural elements from an ancient temple, relics from the palace complex built by Galerius, and gold artifacts from the Archaic and Classical periods.
A rich collection of wonderfully presented items depicting the immense archeological wealth and depth of Greece. In addition to their historical significance, many of the exhibits are spectacular on their own. Masterfully shaped and colored pottery, statues of unmatched artistry, weaponry that displays the military prowess of ancient Greece, gold accessories of impossible craftsmanship that adorned its prominent citizens, and so much more. The facility is also wonderful, clean, with broad corridors and occasional seating, and adequate information concerning the items as well as the age they represent. An overall wonderful experience.
George S — Google review
A gem of a place that deals with ancient Greek history and will take up at least three hours to tour depending on how much you want to learn. There is an app one can download and by scanning each exhibit learn its story in more detail than id depicted on the case. Artifacts, jewellery, sarcofagi, tools, weapons, mosaics and many more can be admired. Well worth a visit.
Christos T — Google review
What a great museum to visit if you’re in Thessaloniki. It was a hot day but it was nice and cool walking around inside the museum. So much history and culture. There is a special section called the Cave which has some amazing exhibits.
Richard T — Google review
You may feel it's a small museum, but it's not. There is also underground floor. I spent there almost two hours and didn't feel the time passed. Very beautiful and interesting exhibitions, with interesting texts. Especially the gold jewelry collection. Highly recommended! There is also cafe in the small garden. You only need to take care about "ship bone" in the Cave exhibition. :)
Anita F — Google review
This museum is worth every minute if you are interested in Greek ancient history. The whole place is quite spacious and you never feel lost. Time spent is 2-3 hours. Totally worth the 8€ entrance fee
D — Google review
I really enjoyed my visit to the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki. The collection is impressive, especially the exhibits from ancient Macedonia — the gold jewelry, statues, and everyday artifacts really help bring the history to life. Everything is well organized, and the information panels are clear and helpful, even for someone without a deep background in archaeology. The building itself is spacious and modern, and the layout makes it easy to move through the different periods. I also appreciated the temporary exhibitions, which added some variety to the experience. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that some sections felt a bit repetitive, and a few exhibits could use better lighting or clearer signage. Still, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Thessaloniki and interested in the rich history of the region.
Harun T — Google review
If you're in Thessaloniki, the Archaeological Museum is definitely worth a visit. When I went, there were three exhibitions: The History of Macedonia, The Gold of the Macedonians, and In the Cave. A free app is available that provides in-language guides about the artifacts on display; these are always accompanied by bilingual captions (Greek and English). The second exhibition I appreciated the most was The Gold of the Macedonians. The artifacts are beautifully crafted, with such minute details that it amazes you how the goldsmiths managed to work the metal so delicately and elaborately without having power tools or precision instruments. The third exhibition is temporary, also interesting, and the spaces are organized to evoke the idea of the inside of a cave, with display cases containing archaeological finds from Greek caves. We spent 2.5 hours exploring the museum, and it was enjoyable. Inside there is a bar and at the end of the visit a souvenir shop.
Alessandro G — Google review
An unforgettable journey through ancient Macedonian history! The Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki is absolutely worth a visit. It's well-organized, easy to walk through, and packed with fascinating artifacts from ancient Macedonia and the wider region. The exhibits are clearly labeled in both Greek and English, and they really help you understand how people lived thousands of years ago - from everyday life to burial customs. The Derveni Krater alone is worth the visit - it's a stunning piece of ancient art. The museum feels modern, clean, and not too crowded, which made for a really enjoyable experience. Staff were friendly and the outdoor section was a nice bonus too. If you're in Thessaloniki and have even a little interest in history or archaeology, don't skip this place. You'll come out feeling like you've actually learned something - and seen some incredible pieces of the ancient world up close.

History Museums
The Museum of Byzantine Civilization in Thessaloniki, Greece is a top destination for those interested in the history and culture of the Byzantine period. The museum's extensive collection covers artifacts and exhibits from the early Christian period to the Ottoman Empire, with a specific focus on the 4th to 15th centuries. Visitors can explore various exhibition halls that are divided into different periods, offering insights into art, religion, and daily life during this influential era.
Wonderful museum! I was lucky and didn’t experience any of the 10 permanent exhibition being temporary closed for a lack of staff. Very organized how you flow from one room to the next, free audio guide which can be downloaded over WiFi and nice staff. Everything you’d expect from a well-kept museum. I came closer to closing, 1 hr is not enough, I think I skipped a room and skimmed over a couple others due to time. The artwork and artifacts are beautiful and for only 8 euros, I think it’s a great deal.
Hak B — Google review
The museum from its exterior looks great. They have captured the Byzantine style of architecture. You see that a lot of work has gone into making this museum. There were a lot of amazing artifact, mosaics, frescos etc….to see. Although I thinkk this museum was lacking on staff. We were even told that because they are understaffed only 4 out of the 12 exhibits were open to the public. The guides in those open rooms were more like guards and were always on their phone. Everything is supposedly digitalized. What’s the point of guides then? Just employ guards. Anyway at least what was open was amazing to see what remains from the Eastern Roman period, but more then half the museum was closed of so it didn’t justify the 8 euros price tag. Visit if it’s fully open.
Filip T — Google review
Small but beautiful museum with a fabulous collection of Byzantine art. The staff are very friendly, and the exhibits are well presented. Be careful around some of the displays though, there are small steps in front and when my daughter accidentally touched it, the alarm went off! The cafeteria and gift shop are currently under renovation, which was a bit disappointing, but overall it was still an awesome experience.
Yao C — Google review
An excellent collection excellently presented within an excellent facility. Middle Ages were not dark in the Eastern Roman Empire, which we call today Byzantium. Paintings, mosaics, decorated pottery, jewelry, and so much more display the light of a civilization whose refugees sparked the Renaissance. Truly, a wonderful experience for those who appreciate history and art. In a country so rich in archeological findings of ages ranging into the greatest depths of antiquity, such exhibits are often unduly overlooked.
George S — Google review
Absolutely worth a visit. I think the ticket was €8, which you certainly can't complain about. It was very quiet when we visited, which probably lent the whole place some serenity. If you are in Thessaloniki and you have an hour or so to spare, I think it would be well spent here.
Per J — Google review
Unlike the archeological museum, the Byzantine museum rightfully accepted my journalist credentials. Thank you! So a +1 for them. I was surprised how small the overall collection is considering the hundreds of years of the Byzantine empire, but what is present is lovely. The mosaics, barrel tombs are particularly unique and the closure slabs exquisite. There are guards in every room to make sure you’re not touching anything. Photos allowed. It only took me about a half hour to circle around the museum. Tip: outlet outside room 5 to charge your phone.
Jennifer S — Google review
The space is good developed: the halls, the lights, the pieces of mosaic, tombstones, vases, examples of the unique history of Byzantine. If you have a time, it's better to take a guide tour, and not to be lost in the treasure of this museum.

One of my favorite places in Thessaloniki. Just pure inspiration. The ceramics are unbelievable, just like the early byzantine tombs.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture of Thessaloniki by visiting Agora Modiano, one of the city's most popular markets. Here you can explore a variety of food stalls offering traditional Greek delicacies such as Koulouri and Bougatsa. Indulge in the rich flavors of artisanal confectioneries and sample the famous ouzo, an anise-flavored aperitif.
We loved visiting this place while staying in Thessaloniki. Although many shops were closed (september), it had a lovely vibe and you can enjoy all the treats in the spacious upstairs area.

A very elegant market in the heart of Thessaloniki. Unfortunately, some of the shops were closed, and those that were open only offered tea, sweets and there were also a few small cafes. Anyway, the exterior architecture was very beautiful, and the interior decoration for Easter was also lovely.

I came early, about 9, most of the stores weren't open yet. This market is perfectly clean. I baugt some spices at beautiful spices shop. Looks like a very nice place for shopping.
Anita F — Google review
Nice place to visit, although we came on Whit Monday so a lot of stalls were closed. Quite fancy so not the typical market but more of an organic, artisan market. Some nice stores, handmade items and good quality purchases to be made here. Lovely architecture on the outside. Not somewhere you can buy things on a whim, but still worth visiting.

Great for a coffee, pastry and fresh local products. They also have toilets Dont get me wrong, the place is exceptionally clean, but can’t wonder if the refurbishment washed away some of the rustic charms of yester years

Guests can enjoy amenities like complimentary Wi-Fi, concierge services, and a trendy bar/cafe. The hotel's proximity to Ladadika District provides easy access to vibrant entertainment options including tavernas, bistros, and espresso bars.
Great experience! Very clean, great service and very polite staff. We stayed there for 2 days and they cleaned and changed all the towels and replaced the soap we used. One thing I really liked was that it was sound proof so we couldn't hear the neighbours. The location is very central so of course there are parking issues, but you can find paid parking nearby, so it shouldn't be hard. Breakfast had a lot of variety, assortments of pizzas, cakes, croissants, pies and bougatsa, as well as the regular stuff like cheese, ham, eggs and sausages. All in all, a great experience, highly recommended!
Alina D — Google review
Our room smelled like cigarette smoke when we got there but we were thinking it was because the window was left open. At night smoke started pouring out of a vent in our room which seems to be connected to other rooms. The hallway on our floor was full of smoke. We contacted the person at the reception but he said that there is nothing that he can do. It seems like the staff turn a blind eye to guests who smoke in this hotel. The law states that the hotel must either clean your room or offer a replacement but we did not get any option so we had to leave in the middle of the night. They told us that they can not give us a refund for the stay or the breakfast we did not have but as a "token" of appreciation they will refund us the parking price. This is not acceptable.
George P — Google review
I had to wake up at 3am to catch an early flight, and I couldn’t sleep at all due to the hotel being next to a bar that plays extremely loud music in the weekends. Had a terrible experience overall, especially as I had booked this hotel by mistake on booking.com and only realised it when I arrived at the location. The staff were not helpful, even though they saw I was under a lot of stress when I realised I was in the wrong place.

We chose this hotel last minute and we did not regret it. The staffs are super helpful and attentive to customers. Special thanks to Elpida and I think the manager of the hotel( sorry could not remember the name) who were very helpful about tips what to visit in the area and go beyond for customer satisfaction. The staff had excellent communication skills with the customers. We had 3 excellent days in Thessaloniki. However, we have a constructive feedback; It would be great to have a free parking for the hotel instead of a daily paid one even if it was not so far from the hotel. In addition, the guidelines to find the hotel on map is totally wrong if you come by car; this should be fixed. But the staff helped us to reached the hotel. We stayed in Room 604 and it was clean, plenty of space for 2 people. Breakfast was really good and the ladies responsible for the breakfast are so sweet and joyful. We will definitely book this hotel again.

We stayed in their Ladadika Design building. The room was pretty and very clean, the hotel amenities were nice. Downsides: very small room for a group of 4, noisy during the evening until late - but those seem to be a constant in the center of Thessaloniki. Breakfast was filling and very good, plus the coffee from the Plaza café is great!

Had the most amazing stay at Capsis Thessaloniki. The pool was amazing. The staff couldn’t do enough for you - all so friendly and helpful. The rooms were really clean. Really enjoyed the restaurant - the breakfast had a really good selection. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Thessaloniki:)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the most amazing stay at the Capsis Hotel! The staff were absolutely incredible—so welcoming and always happy to help with anything I needed. I had the best experience relaxing by the pool, and I genuinely looked forward to breakfast and dinner every day. The food was great and the atmosphere was just perfect. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

One of the best hotels you can choose for your stay in Thessaloniki! Great location, where the train station, the port and the Subway of the city are all in a short walking distance! The city centre, too! The hotel itself is also a trademark, operating successfully for a few decades in Thessaloniki! Try it,you will not regret it! 😉

Good location, comfortable, nice and clean room, super nice staffs services. We stayed this Hotel for 2 nights. We spent almost at the swimming pool and rooftop bar, all staffs were super nice, smiling and good service. Theodora! She works as a lifeguard at swimming, very carful, take good care of us, respectful and polite! We would stay there again

Have only been here one night and half a day. Good location. 30 min walk to White Tower. Plenty of cafes and ravernas to pick from en route. Standard sized European room with shower/bath. Nice rooftop pool/bar area with plenty of loungers to relax and get some sun. Beautiful lobby.
J W — Google review
I spent €180 for two nights, thinking I was treating myself to something special, but I was very disappointed. The gym was closed, the nice roof terrace and pool doesn’t open until 11 a.m., (this is not stated in booking.com). So there are no guest areas available until late morning. The pool area when opened plays very loud ibiza classic music so no snooze time there. the spa is a service you have to pay extra for (it's not a hamman that guests can just use) it doesn’t open until 3 p.m., and breakfast wasn’t included it's an additional €20. The staff were polite enough. the property is right on a very busy main road, you need earplugs it's constant traffic noise so very difficult to relax here. the bonus was the bus stop is close by €2 Ox1 direct to airport. room service wake you up at 0830 unless you put a disturb sign on the door. it's more like a 3-star and overpriced should be more €70 euro i decided not to extend my stay here
Emma W — Google review
The hotel looks very nice, but functionality is the problem. The beds are hard as a rock, very uncomfortable. The bright white lights in the room make it feel not inviting. The food for our buffet was good, not great but better than some other hotels I’ve been to in Greece. The bathroom in the room is very tiny and the sink designs easily gets water all over the counter. On one of the nights we could also smell cigarette smoke, maybe coming in from the courtyard area or something. I wouldn’t stay here again.

15 EUR tax for just one night! This place is officially classified as a 5-star hotel, but in reality it’s more like 2–3 stars. Extremely noisy and poorly soundproofed. Definitely not recommended. There are much better hotels within walking distance for far less money. One night here and never again.
Kos M — Google review
The hotel is well located, it's a walk distance to the seafront and to restaurants and bars. The personnel are nice and helpful. Good breakfast. But if there are large groups you have to wait long time in line to be able to get what you want to eat. It's a problem if you a tight schedule. The room is comfortable and big enough but what it is really bothers me was the rooms temperature . At this time of the year, end October, the air conditioning doesn't work so the room is to hot, even leaving the window open, which it's only possible if your room is not facing the main street. Otherwise it is to noisy. During my stay it was impossible to have a good night sleep. The hotels restaurant is good.

Very nice and quiet hotel. It is a little bit on the side, not in the center, but very near, as it's just past the Dimokratía junction. The hotel stands out and has a wonderful helpful staff. It's definitely one of highly recommended hotels. I'm a blogger in Greece in General and in Thessaloniki, specifically, as a tour guide, so part of my project is checking out hotels, service places, and more. It is again one of the great hotels in Thessaloniki. It doesn't have parking, but there is enough free parking nearby.

Super friendly staff. Our flights back were cancelled due to emergancy in our homeland and we stayed there for more than two weeks. The staff took care for us as if we were family. The hotel's general manager talked to us regularly, the maid cleaned our rooms first thing in the morning and when we left they packed us doggy bags with breakfast. I highly recommend that hotel if you're in the city. Location is great and central as well, the hotel is fully renovated and the quality of the amenities were good.
Rotem . — Google review
Not what you expect when you book to a Holiday Inn brand hotel. The hotel is centrally located next to the city center but the surrounding area has many old, dirty abandoned buildings. No problem with security but still the views are somehow disappointing. Common areas are renovated and modern. Our room was facing to Afroditis street which I suppose is part of a much older building. The balcony was not maintained probably for years and the room was too small for two persons to fit well. For the same price, you can easily find much better accommodation in the city centre.

Each dish was prepared with care, making it hard to pick a favorite. The drinks complemented the meal perfectly. I had a great stay at this hotel! It’s about a 15-minute walk from the city center and just a minute away from a metro station. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom is also large. The staff is incredibly kind, polite, and helpful. The breakfast is rich and varied, offering plenty of healthy options as well as some indulgent treats. One evening, I used their room service because I was too tired to go out for dinner, and I was very satisfied—the food arrived quickly, and the burger was absolutely delicious! The hotel also has its own spa center with massages and facial treatments, which is a great bonus. The housekeeping staff is very friendly as well. Overall, I’m super happy with my stay and would highly recommend this hotel!
Miroslava N — Google review
I’m giving 4 stars due to the inconvenient non-refundable policy. It seems the hotel uses a third-party service to handle bookings, and if you make a mistake with your dates (as I did on Booking.com), the operator will rudely tell you to “sort it out with Booking.” However, changes are impossible because the hotel is listed as part of a promo campaign, and Booking simply doesn’t have the rights to modify the reservation. In our case, we weren’t asking for a refund, only to change the dates, but this was refused. So, I recommend being extra careful when selecting your dates. We didn’t expect to get a parking spot at the hotel, but there are free parking spaces available within walking distance. The hotel itself and the breakfast are very basic, which matches the price. The staff, however, were all excellent and very helpful, which we truly appreciated. The only downside was an unpleasant smell coming from the air conditioner in the room. Since we stayed for just one night, we didn’t raise the issue.

The location was brilliant as it was near the center of Salonika. Would have liked it if the served lunch or dinner but still everything is within walking distance.Am planning to go back next year. The Imperial Classical hotel is like a home away from home. Would highly recommend it. 👍👍👍👍

The staff are lovely. Very friendly and kind. The free breakfast was delicious and plant to choose from. The bar has a good selection and is open in the evenings for drinks. The hotel is clean and the bed super comfy. The location is good. I walked everywhere from here and saw as much of Thessaloniki as possible. The rooms are dated and definitely need some attention and there is little sound proofing so you can literally hear everything in other rooms and the corridor which was annoying at times. That said, a good budget friendly hotel to explore from

The Imperial Palace Classical Hotel in Thessaloniki offers a distinctive blend of Victorian elegance in the city's heart. The central location allows for easy exploration of the city's landmarks and entertainment The hotel features a variety of boutique rooms, each uniquely decorated in a Victorian style. Room types range from budget single rooms to family accommodations and junior suites, catering to diverse guest needs. The rooms could benefit with some modern amenities and upgrades as the mattress and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The staff are very kind, courteous and well informed. Breakfast items on the buffet were out before closing time with no refills so i rate the offering as mediocre. Overall a nice hotel with an average experience.

Hotel with a great location near the city center. The staff was really nice and I enjoyed a nice room at a fair price. As a couple of negative points the extractor in the bathroom was really loud and the bathroom floor was filled with water after using the shower. The views from the balcony are not the best if that is something that you care about, but overall I had a good experience.

The hotel's prime location allows for quick access to iconic landmarks such as Aristotelous Square and the White Tower, both just a short drive away.
I guess I stayed in one of the renovated rooms. My room was big and clean. There was air conditioning and working perfectly. My bathroom was also nice. For the price it was a really good room. They cleaned my room and changed my towels everyday. The breakfast was good. Staff who worked in the kitchen was so kind. Receptionists were all so helpful and kind as well. The tour prices are very reasonable if you are traveling alone and not have car. The hotel location is fenemonal walking distance to major attractions. My only complaint first they I arrived early and they didn’t let me have breakfast. They have plenty of foods considering many people don’t have breakfast for checkout day that would be fair trade. Overall had positive experience.

A wonderful place to stay in Thessaloniki! The rooms were so cute and very comfortable. Good water pressure in our room! The reception was so good and kind and very helpful. Location was a little tricky being on the main drag. There is no parking, but they do have a deal with a local parking garage about 5 minutes walking time away which works well. Would stay here again.

Firstly ı am very thankfull to le palace hotel for this wonderfull experience. We came from cyprus to this hotel, location was great you have acces to lots of shops beautiful parks and other stuff like entertainment, bars and tavela restaurants. Another important thing is comfort, cleaning, kindness of the workers. Comfort of the rooms were nice beds are comfy and there is also a airconditioner and a tv in the room which that means you can watch tv with your family in a cool room.Hotel also have a room for studying and reading. Thanks to the cleaning lady not just our room all the hotel is very clean also she is kind and helpfull. The one of the most inportant of me is the food and making breakfast at this hotel is great they have a lot of diffent type of food for every one and the food is just good as the diversity.I never eat that much food in any hotel before in my entire life.So you want a Hotel with good location, food, cleaning and workers for a affordable price Le palace otel must be on your list.If I come back to thessaloniki one day,my hotel choice would be Le palace hotel again. And Also ı want to express my special thanks to Tony who works at the reception desk.He help us very much with literally any thing, without hesitate and always with a happy face.

We stayed in a front-facing room on the 1st floor. The room was spacious, new, and very clean. Although the breakfast area was small, the breakfast itself was more than sufficient, with freshly baked pastries and eggs being served continuously. The hotel’s location is very central, and you can reach almost everywhere within a few minutes. The only downside was the parking situation. The daily fee of €18 is not unreasonable, but there was a lack of clear information regarding the parking location. When we tried to unload our luggage in front of the hotel, the police immediately approached us, warning that a fine would be issued. If guests were directed straight to the parking lot in advance and the license plate was communicated, this problem could have been avoided.

Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Money We stayed as a family (two adults and a small child, 2 years old) at Le Palace Hotel in Thessaloniki, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. The hotel’s location is undeniably perfect, right in the city center, which makes it easy to explore Thessaloniki on foot and return to the hotel at any time. However, this also comes with a significant downside: extreme noise in the rooms, even with the windows closed, as there is absolutely no soundproofing. It genuinely feels like you are sleeping on the street. The hotel itself is very old and poorly maintained. Although parts of it have been “renovated,” everything feels extremely cheap and worn out. There has clearly been no real investment in maintaining or improving the property for many years, and everything gives off a neglected vibe. One of the main reasons I chose this hotel was the promise of Cocomat mattresses for a good night’s sleep, especially for those with back problems. However, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and I doubt they were actually Cocomat mattresses—or if they were, they were far too old to offer any comfort. The biggest disappointment was the check-in experience. I booked two double rooms one month in advance, specifying that both should have double beds (not twins) and a baby cot in one room for our child. I even called the hotel after booking to confirm these requests and was assured everything would be arranged. However, upon arrival, we were shocked to find both rooms had twin beds and there was no baby cot. When I asked at reception to change the rooms, I was told the hotel was fully booked and nothing could be done. The same answer was given again in the morning. No help, no apology, just a simple “nothing we can do.” This level of unprofessionalism and lack of hospitality is truly disappointing—especially in Greece, where genuine warmth and hospitality are the norm. It’s clear the staff are just following management’s instructions, and the hotel’s owner has no interest in guest satisfaction or investing in the property. The breakfast was basic and exactly what you’d expect for the price, but everything else felt like a waste of money. There are so many hotels in Thessaloniki, and I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. Even for the low price, the overall experience is simply not worth it—unless you absolutely don’t care about comfort, sleep, or good service. Despite this, we enjoyed our time in Thessaloniki, but Le Palace will definitely not be on our list for future visits.

My stay at Le Palace Hotel was peaceful and satisfying. The hospitality was great, and the staff always welcomed me with a smile. I felt relaxed and respected throughout my time there.

Great hotel with everything you need for. The one problem that arises it's when the breakfast is served there are limited amount of chairs and tables and becomes crowded. Either the breakfast time should be extended or additional place should be considered.

The hotel offers contemporary rooms and suites with essential amenities such as air conditioning, satellite TV, and minibars. Guests can enjoy free breakfast and access to facilities including an indoor pool, spa, health club, and spa tub. The hotel's prime location provides splendid views of the city's ancient market.
Room facing the Via Egnatia can be very noisy - Sunday night - traffic all night but after that it was quiet. Staff are unfailingly polite and helpful. They arranged for laundry for us. The bar and lounge on ground floor - great place to hang out. Loved the breakfast spread. Very central and easy to walk everywhere

My family stayed in this hotel over a number of days in August 2025 and they provided excellent customer service. The rooms were very clean, well air-conditioned and had everything that we needed. The location was excellent: very central and within walking distance from many interesting sites and shops. The staff were incredibly helpful and responsive, and helped us with any query that we had. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to visitors.
Mark O — Google review
What to say. Well the room was nice and clean, the location is great, staff friendly enough, spa in the same building. Sadly the one thing I use a hotel for is to sleep. But the beds are absolutely horrible. Imagen that I stand straight up in the bed I will sink down 7-8 cm. If I lay down and distribute my weight it is like sleeping on a rock. There is simply no coming back from that. The breakfast was sub par. Cherry tomatoes was the only fresh vegetable on the tables. No baked beans. Blasting rock music at 8am is just sad. Forget about a healthy and quiet breakfast. One more thing, to charge 1 euro for the ability to weigh your luggage in a 4 star hotel does not only seam greedy, it certainly is greedy.
Patrik — Google review
I found the hotel to be vary enjoyable and a very pleasant experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is one issue I would like to mention. We were a family of 5 with holiday suitcases, so we needed two taxis. On 5th August we got two taxis to the airport, arranged by the hotel and it was €25 per taxi. On the morning of the 16th August we again got two taxis to the airport, arranged by the hotel. One cost €25 and the other one with me, my daughter and young child cost €35. He said it was a fixed price. I think he took an extra €10 on top of the agreed fare.

Breakfast was a delight. But the rooms are far too warm with no good way to cool them off. There is a thermostat on the wall. But the system does no practical good to cool off the room. We’ve stayed in two different rooms on two different occasions. If you like your room cooler than 80, then I recommend looking elsewhere. We visited in early June.

Nice hotel, well located, friendly staff. Breakfast doesn't have many variety, however, it is a good selection. Rooms looked a bit smaller than on the photos on booking.com. Good cleaning. Walk distance to many tourist spots.
Gisele L — Google review
Rooms are small, but typical for European hotels. Breakfast was very good. I have stayed in this hotel twice in the past week—2 different rooms. If you’re American, and used to ac, this may be a difficult place for you. The first night, the room never really got cool even though the thermostat was set to much cooler. It was difficult to sleep. Others in our group complained their room was hot also. Yesterday, we stayed in another city in Greece, and the hotel was great. Temperature in the rooms was very comfortable for us and we rested well. Today, we returned to the Egnatia Palace after having been sightseeing all day in 91° heat. Our ac unit has been running now for nearly 3 hours and it is still 82° in here. Some in our group even went back outside because it felt cooler outside than in their rooms. So it has been very difficult to find rest here.

Macedonia Intercity Bus Station is a convenient hub for travelers in Thessaloniki, connecting them to various destinations including the airport, city center, and even routes to the rest of Europe. The station offers easy access to taxis and ample parking spaces. Travelers can also enjoy a small shop offering savory Greek pies with vegan options. While some suggest that the station could be better organized and cleaner, it remains a central terminal for intercity buses with reasonable prices.
This really is a good bus station, with good facilities. You can get everywhere in Greece and beyond. The only downside is the usual terrible toilets, it's amazing what Greeks think is acceptable.
Bob H — Google review
There’s a small shop in here that sells savory Greek pies with vegan options! A nice surprise. Called Term1nal maybe? Easy to find amongst shops. Also I had no problem finding my bus and as I was standing there someone came over to ask if I needed help.
Matt R — Google review
I needed to buy a ticket to Kalampaka, I told so to the ticket officer but instead of giving me the ticket she kept telling me in a very, very rude way the departure time of the bus, which I never asked for. I had to tell her at least TEN times that I wanted to buy the ticket, before she actually gave me the ticket, and then she complained because according to her I should have just nod to her unrequested information and go away since people usually only ask her the time of the bus, and then she also proceeded to fantasise on how I would have complained if she didn’t tell me the time of the bus but actually gave me the ticket because that’s how people usually react. I totally understand that sometimes clients can be very annoying, but what does this have to do with me? I asked you for ticket, give me the ticket. All this happened while she was talking with someone on a walkie talkie. Maybe if she puts it down and actually listens to people when they talk with her, all the unpleasant situations she complains about would not happen.

Оne of the most UNSAFE places in Thessaloniki! You gotta watch out and be careful for rude homeless people, drag users, thieves, and illegal sellers! The security guards don't care at all! Do not recommend travel after 7pm during winter time. Do not recommend ANY of the public toilets! The waiting for the bus taking forever, because of all these things!

We had such a lovely stay at the Blue Bottle Hotel. Everything was walking distance and it is in a good area with a lot of shops, restaurants and bars. The breakfast was also good! They had 3 set menus or you could pick and choose your own breakfast. However, the best part was Eleutheria, the amazing hotel receptionist! Everyday she would give us recommendations on where and what to eat, going above and beyond to take the time to make sure we enjoyed Thessaloniki. Every restaurant she recommended went above and beyond our expectations, and she would even go as far as telling us her favorite dishes. She was so kind and really took care of us. For that, we could come back to the Blue Bottle again!

We booked the Blue Bottle trusting the reviews for the hotel but were bitterly disappointed. The 17 square meter double room was too small with nowhere to unpack, no shelving, no cupboards and one ricketty table. The first receptionist who booked us in was apathetic, a far cry from the ones mentioned in the reviews. Finally the breakfast service was glacial. All the other guests were looking around like us to see where the waitress was and why the service was so slow. The waitress completely forgot the poor man behind us who sat for twenty minutes waiting for an order that didn't arrive. OK so it's quirky and well situated but so are many other hotels in this area of Thessaloniki. Sorry Blue Bottle but you really must to try harder.

Our reservation for four nights was canceled by the hotel, and we were charged the full amount despite circumstances entirely beyond our control. Severe lack of customer service and empathy. Once payment was secured, it seems our status as valued clients was disregarded. This occurred after a war broke out in my country two days before our scheduled arrival, leading to the cancellation of all flights to and from the region. Although we had paid extra for a free cancellation option, the hotel's policy stipulated a three-day advance notice. We promptly informed the hotel of our situation two days prior to our arrival and followed your instructions to submit an official cancellation request via email/booking platform. Despite our timely notification and the extraordinary circumstances, our cancellation request was denied. We were informed that we would be fully charged, seemingly placing blame on us for the unforeseen event of a war (by the way, “thank you” for your concern for our safety!). When we attempted to discuss this further by phone, they slammed the phone to our face, and subsequent email inquiries were ignored. To our dismay, after processing the full charge, the hotel proceeded to cancel our reservation without our consent. This implies that even if travel restrictions had eased and we were able to arrive even a day late, despite having paid in full, we would have been denied accommodation. It appears we have been fully charged for a room that was ultimately resold. The manner in which this situation was handled demonstrates a severe lack of customer service and empathy. Once payment was secured, it seems our status as valued clients was disregarded.

Hotel Rex is a modest accommodation option with simple rooms and 24/7 room service. It offers complimentary Wi-Fi and is located near the bus station, about a 10 to 15-minute walk from the center of Thessaloniki. The hotel has both renovated ensuite rooms and older ones, so it's advisable to request a room in the newer part for an improved experience. Guests have praised the comfortable beds, cozy rooms, and helpful staff.
Very good price and nice warm shower with good pressure I came in after riding a motorcycle in the rain all day so nice to be warm and dry.
Luke V — Google review
Very close to the railway station there is the Rex Hotel. At first glance it seems to be nothing special - not bad, not good. But when you go to bed, you understand that you have ended up in a barracks, so rough and like a soldier's blanket without a duvet cover. The biggest surprises await at breakfast. The room where this happens is the size of a typical Russian apartment kitchen. Not only is there no service personnel, we had to climb on a chair to get an electric kettle from some cabinet, go to the kitchen to pour water from the tap and boil water for all the foreign tourists. In general, there are no more impressions!

Terrible. Ants all over the floor. Windows that don't work properly. No lock on the bathroom door. See through bathroom door. Smell of cigarettes. Rude staff - they'll accommodate you but make you feel like a burden just because you have children and don't want a room that smells like cigarettes or one where the air con doesn't work. Very disappointing overall. At least it was close to the train station so we could run away easily.

The staff was friendly, the room very clean and generally good. However, the most important service in a hotel is a good nights sleep and the mattresses are badly in need of replacement. Overall a good place to sleep, but ... I was surprised with a room in another building and I received an instruction to switch the boiler ON in order to have hot water. It didn't work, I took a cold shower. At the next evening they told me, sorry, there is a problem, so you will have to take another cold water shower. After complaining, I received 17 euro discount, 8,50 per shower :-)

Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff. We stayed in a basic twin room which was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was included and was a good spread of pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, bread and olives. Would definitely stay again. Good location too.
Gareth O — Google review
The location was slightly rough and unpleasant surrounded by multiple abandoned buildings. As a female in her 20s I did not feel safe walking to the hotel when it started getting dark. I was given the accessible room as it was the last available despite booking months in advance. This room was practically located right next to the reception desk and lobby/dining area. This resulted in being waken up to people having early breakfast or just conversing in the lobby. The shower was not practical which cause water to go absolutely everywhere including the wooden bedroom floor. The window which was located above the bed was street level which again felt unsafe and intrusive.

This was one of the darkest hotel rooms (432) I have ever been to which is not necessarily something a very bad. It's just that on the photos in the ad the things were looking completely different. The room consists of four four single beds with limited outlets (3 if I remember correctly) all situated on the oppositing wall so you can imagine how inconvenient it was to charge your phone while using it, for example. There was an unpleasant surprise with the parking as well. There were available lots so we took one because we were told that the tax of 15 euros allows us to use the parking 24 hours which technically isn't true. We were staying for one night only and checked in 15:30, The checkout should be before noon time and when we checked out they requested us to give them back the key for the parking which was not really nice. The location of the hotel is very central. Everything is within 20 minutes walking distance which is good.

We were there the middle of November. The front desk persons are super friendly and helpful. The price for a room is very affordable considering the location. They offer parking at a near by lot, very short walking distance from the hotel. It charged 13 euros a day, no need to worry about parking meters and parking infractions. It’s smack dab in the middle of down town, walking distance from shops, water front, the large agora, and many other places. The room was a nice size, very clean and bright, not dingy. Most comfortable bed I’ve slept on in my travels. Nice large and clean bathroom with plenty of hot water. There was a small counter with a fridge, sink and a hot plate. I don’t know why it’s listed at such a low star rate. Will definitely go back.

A good value for money. If you want to spend majority of your time outside in the city for shopping, visiting museums or just having fun and good time, than all you need is an affordable hotel with clean room and adequate set of services. That was our criteria and the hotel fulfill them completely. In a room (street view) you can expect clean bed, clean bathroom with towels, TV and a mini bar - just enough to have a good rest overnight. WiFi was solid and free of charge. Perfect location, very clean room and great breakfast. I have stayed with my family and really enjoyed. You have to read the booking confirmation to collect keys from other hotel and there is a public parking 50 meters away from the hotel. You will absolutely enjoy the hotel and surroundings;)

Stayed with family overnight. Excellent location near port and all the restaurants/bars, clean room even if bathroom needs some finishing and overall, rooms can be improved. Very good air conditioning - heat was not a problem on an August hot day. Special mention to the awesome breakfast! Unfortunately our room was just on the corner of the building, directly over the crowded restaurants area, so it was pretty noisy until 1 AM - if you plan to party, this location is excellent. This is why I could not give 5 stars. Does not have his own reception, need to go to the other Colors hotel, 200m away, easily reachable. For parking: there is a public parking 50m from the hotel, but this is very crowded and max payment is 4 hours - you can use it if you arrive in the evening (weekend is free from 21 to 09) otherwise is recommended to find a 24/24 parking.

Absolutely top location in Thessaloniki – it couldn’t be more central. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully designed. Overall, the interior design is very well done. The receptionist was also super friendly, and I was even able to check into my room 90 minutes early. All in all, highly recommended. However, the chat tool with the hotel on the Booking.com app was hacked, and I was pressured to click on a link to enter my credit card details. Naturally, this made me feel uneasy, so I emailed the hotel before my trip to inform them about it – unfortunately, they never replied or thanked me for the warning.

The room was very poor. Toilet and sink don't work properly, air conditioner was beind a wall which did not reach the room. The door lock was terrible. We put the correct codes and does not open until 4 tries. The booking was made through booking.com where payment was made depending the amount due. When arrived near the hotel we realised that the main door is locked and that we needed a code which the hotel never provided and there was no stuff on the property. We waited at least 15 minutes for someone to come help us with codes and keys. Apart from the bad attitude of the receptionist, we had to pay extra fee to have the codes which we apparently had to pay before arriving inorder to receive the codes prior to arrival which the hotel never informed us. We never had any issues with booking a hotel from booking.com. Never again this hotel. We had very bad experience.

It was easily walkable to many historical sites and shopping as well. The hotel is surrounded many restaurants, clubs, etc so the neighborhood was noisy on a Friday night. With the windows closed, it was muted enough not to bother me, but people who are sensitive to that should take that into consideration.
Anne S — Google review
Let’s summarise the good things: Bed is good; bathroom clean; room has sufficient amenities and WI-FI. The noise level is ridiculous you have a band playing directly in front of the hotel for half the night and the discos are close so if you’re out and about it’s a nicely located hotel if you like a good nights sleep - forget about it!
A — Google review
Best hotel if you have a pet! I've been to many pet friendly hotels, but that one, was the best! The room was perfectly made for pets! They also offer a bag with treats (over charge), we got it and our dog really enjoyed it! I would stay there again! Also, I didn't mind the noice from the outside because I know this is the loudest area at night in Thessaloniki. And for people who have pets, we all know how hard it is to find a nice place to stay. I definitely reccomend COLORS.

Such a clean beautiful street, full of amazing boutiques cafes restaurants, buskers playing and singing Greek music. Just beautiful

The city seems like starting here. Many cafes, restaurants, bars, and stores are located between this street and the coastline.

One can't visit Thessaloniki without going to this boulevard. It's the main commercial street of the city, with shops, bakeries, patisseries and cafes. We spend hours each day there on our visit. At nighttime it still is teaming with people. Every side street too has many gems.

Indoor lodging
The Trilogy House in Thessaloniki is a trendy accommodation option with an industrial-chic vibe. Housed in a charming 1920s building, it offers ten elegantly decorated rooms with unique furnishings and modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, and air conditioning. The location is ideal for exploring the city on foot, and guests appreciate the stylish design and friendly service. Some rooms feature balconies with sea views, while the first floor boasts a nice bar.
Lovely, great decor, super clean with all amenities you’d need for city stay
Marta G — Google review
We were here for two nights and I don’t think we would’ve handled staying much longer. The room and the design were pretty, that’s for sure. But that’s the only positive things to mention here. Not only is the place located on one of the main streets and very noisy. You could also hear the neighbors (phones ringing, music, talking, TV…). Sleeping without earplugs impossible. The functionality of the shower was also not great: the water splashed all over the bathroom since the glass wall was way too small. We wouldn’t come back here.
Helen R — Google review
It was such a pleasant stay to this beautiful hotel! Gorgeous architecture and interior design. It is walking distance from the good restaurants of this amazing city and the promenades. We had the sea view room and it is so inedit. I highly recommend it! Soory i couldn’t do any pictures of the details and unconventional decorations. Maby next time!

Nice hosts and the place is pet friendly. I like the atmosphere of this place, it is also very clean despite the fact that it is a very old building. My room had a nice balcony and nice view.
Blerta K — Google review
It has amazing decor, I loved it. The location is great, you can walk everywhere. I loved the breakfast, it was unique and very special. The hotel building is very special and has been restored. I congratulate the owner of the hotel, they have accomplished a different and special job.
Derya A — Google review
Great place to stay in one of the best spots in the city center!! Great ambience and vibe, place got character, with the whole building being being so vintage-like. Interior design nails it. Small open terrace for smokers. Personnel were all very friendly. There is a great little Cafe/bar that also does live gigs is situated in the 1st floor of the building. Two things not so great; -Bathroom door(at the "Loft room" is mostly made out of semi-transparent glass so better not turn the bathroom light on, if there's another person in the room or they're in for a show 😂) -The place is right in front of one of Thessaloniki's busiest streets-which in a way is great and got a view and all, but that also means there's a lot of traffic sounds. So if you're a light sleeper get some earplugs 🙂

My favourite place to stay in Thessaloniki. Very unique and stylish designed rooms. Absolutely perfect and friendly service (thanks Angelina). Some rooms even have balcony, some have sea view. Pls note: no parking (just come with taxi or park outside), no elevator (just exercise). Nice bar in 1st floor. Great location to enjoy night life. Only 2 Min walk to sea side. Highly recommended!

The Mood Luxury Rooms is a modern and well-maintained boutique hotel located in the center of Thessaloniki, just a 4-minute walk from Chabad House and the Hachshara restaurant. The spacious and tastefully decorated rooms, some suitable for families, feature amenities such as a minibar and coffee machine. Guests praise the great staff service and convenient parking.
Location is awesome. Room is basic and clean. Breakfast is made to order from a la carte menu. I just wish that they wouldn't charge for the second cup of coffee at the breakfast.

Room is basic and clean, but I wouldn’t call it luxury. Location is central in a busy area. There is no parking. Breakfast is from a la carte menu where only one cup of drink is free.

Great location in the heart of Ladadika district - top services, amazing food, cozy rooms, retro vibes, and always available to help, with a smile. It is our second stay and it even got better - congratulations to the entire staff, we felt wonderful during our holiday. Thank you 💜

We selected this hotel to host the guests of our wedding and we can't recommend this hotel enough. The hotel is super clean and modern, the rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast was super delicious, location is perfectly central to everything and the staff went out of their way to make our wedding week experience the most memorable one, hats off to the entire MOOD team. After really nit-picking, i only have to points that could be improved 1. The rooms could have Smart TVs instead of basic ones and 2. The breakfast coffee should be bottomless and not limited to 1 coffee, other than that this hotel was absolutely perfect value for money and I would recommend it anyday.
Sarim H — Google review
Great place! L.E. I’ve come this year again and when I parked the car I didn’t see the metallic bar next to my car and I opened the door all the way. Luckily one boy from the hotel staff was there and he threw his hand between my car’s door and the metal bar. So this much they care about their service. They deserve only 5 stars reviews!

Very nice place with convenient position in heart of the city . Everything great , only one thing , don’t charge second coffee at the breakfast.

Its a small jewel inside the city! The hotel its close to a lot of restaurants and bars, they serve a delicious a la carte breakfast in the morning! The room its big, spacious, comfortable and has all the necessary amenities. Although its in the city center, its really quiet and there is no noise penetrating from the street. Travelled with my best friend and we loved it.

Located in Downtown Thessaloniki, thesshostel - Thessrooms is a modest accommodation with basic rooms and convenient amenities. Guests can enjoy a rooftop terrace, shared kitchenette, and lounge. The hostel offers bicycle rental, free Wi-Fi, and luggage storage. Its central location provides easy access to local bus and train stations. Despite small but clean rooms, the friendly staff and self-service lounge make for a comfortable stay at an affordable price.
What to say more? Room that we get was very clean. Quite big space with nice desin. Staf very kind and helpful in any need. It is close from train station, walked about 6 min.
Martynatum — Google review
Best location there a very traditional bougatsa place that sells delicious greek food for breakfast and coffee nearby. There is also an amazing food place next door and also the train station is super close. The check in was very easy, we arrived late but we were given a code to collect the key and the rooms very clean.
Nikoleta T — Google review
While traveling back from Zakynthos we stopped overnight in Thessaloniki and this hotel was a good option for us. Although it is placed in a former industrial area behind the railway station and the neighborhood is not really the best in town, overall it is well positioned at only 5 minutes by car from the port where all entertainment can be found. The room was a loft, very cousy and and newly furnished. All is industrial style but comfortable.
Bogdan S — Google review
A lovely hotel in an amazing location just a short walk to the metro. The owners are very kind and respond super quickly! ❤️🙏🏼
Cilem N — Google review
Very cooperative and friendly staff. Located near local bus station and train station. So have added advantage of east commute. Rooms are small but clean and washroom are also good. Have a lounge for self service to make tea/coffee any time. For the amount, that they charge, its services are more than enough
Kashif A — Google review
Stayed at the 3 bedroom apartment. Very basic, has fridge and hot pot.But clean. Balconies in all rooms. Kitchen has only 2 chairs, but in apartment there are 6 beds. 1 room is with double bed, not 2 separate beds! No place for cooking. 1 shower and 1 wc in same room for 6 beds; 20minute walk from city centre. Has coffee shops and food chains close by on the main street. Parking is on the street, but it is tough to find space at night especially. parking on the street is for free.
Anna A — Google review
This hostel is extremely ghetto. Inside it looks like you are in the ghetto, and is very dimly lit, and makes you feel like maybe you are not in a safe place. There is no heat and it gets very cold inside, extremely cold at night. The kitchen facilities are not fully equipped as they say they are. I even emailed ahead to ask if they had certain things in the kitchen and they said yes, but when I arrived they did not. I had to go out and buy the extra kitchenware myself. Only to find that the cookers don't even all work properly! The showers do not always have hot water. Only a couple of the days did it have hot water. A couple of the days the water was too cold to shower at all and I had to go without showering. A couple of the other days it was warm enough to shower but not very comfortably. And the internet is very spotty and doesn't always work, which can really cause you trouble if you need to use it, especially for work like me. And the place isn't even cheap either, you are paying more than you should for such accomodations. The only good thing is that the female staff are very friendly and try to be accomodating, but there is only so much they can do to be accomodating when the accomodations are simply so poor. And the male staff member doesn't even try to be accomodating and obviously doesn't care about his job or the customers. In the end this was one of the worst hostels I have ever stayed at, and made for a very depressing stay in greece.
Brian K — Google review
We stayed for a single night on our way to Lefkada, and this spot did exactly what we needed: a straightforward, no-frills room at a fair price. Nothing flashy—just a comfortable base that makes travel days easier. The location is the win. It’s an easy walk to the old town area and the seafront, so you can stretch your legs, grab a bite, or take a relaxed evening stroll without fussing with transport. Heads-up: amenities are minimal. You’ll get towels, but bring your own shower essentials and toiletries. Given the value, that trade-off felt reasonable to us.
