Ramen restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Noodle shop
Shogun Ramen, located in Brighton's south lanes near the town hall, offers a taste of authentic Japanese noodle dining. Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant surprises with a spacious interior featuring a long bar-side kitchen and additional seating downstairs. The menu includes traditional Japanese ramen dishes served in a casual atmosphere with fast service. Customers can enjoy generous portions of flavorful and well-priced food in a cozy and quiet setting.
Great place, unassuming outside but cute inside. The curry was DELICIOUS and filling and the portions were satisfying! The chicken was crispy and fried perfectly. I don't live in Brighton, but if I did I'd eat here all the time.
Sirna B — Google review
Never been here before, always walked straight past but definitely coming back. Food came out incredibly fast and tasted amazing. Only notes would be that it was a little pricey for the three items I ordered and the atmosphere was a bit off. Nice place though, I'll be thinking about the ramen for weeks!!
Maisie W — Google review
Delicious food. We had the katsu chicken curry and the char chu. Both were very nice. The atmosphere was a bit dingy, no music, just a small basement with 4 small tables. No phone signal downstairs. The lady at the front told us to find out table our selves, even though she was not busy. Then you have to go back upstairs to order. Not ideal if you have mobility issues. The food came out fast, though, and was piping hot. I'd recommend this place for a quick bite to eat, but it's not a place to really enjoy a meal and relax.
J C — Google review
As a ramen lover, I was thrilled to discover Shogun Ramen during my visit to Brighton, and it was my first stop when I arrived! The ramen was absolutely delicious savory, perfectly balanced, and easily the best I’ve found after struggling to find a good ramen shop near me. The food came out impressively fast, which made the experience even better. My only suggestion would be adding some light background music to elevate the atmosphere and make it even cozier for enjoying the meal. 🍜
Timothy C — Google review
This little ramen eatery is by far my most favourite. Doesn’t have huge cafe like sitting rather a traditional sitting how you find in South East Asia. Ramen and Katsu curry were heaven to dive in. Enough for a 2 to 4 member family, couple and group of 4-5. Strolling in Brighton after long beach day a bowl of ramen can fix your day for sure. Price wise it’s expensive - I have seen many take away rather dine in. But I enjoy small eateries so I rather enjoy sitting and eating there.
Mayanka S — Google review
I love Ramen and came here expecting a real authentic experience. Well it was certainly an experience. The place was super busy and orders backed up hard . The chef was struggling yet still pushed out orders impressively. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen 🍜. It was a good size and really nice toppings, egg and pork. However the ramen noodles were super soft and ruined the overall meal. If they made the noodles firm it would have been great. I might pop back for their non ramen meals to test. The prices was reasonable about a tenner for the ramen, four pounds for a beer.
Arvin D — Google review
Didn't even eat here and they were rude when I was finding my table. Date of experience: 3rd June 2025, 7pm I walked into shogun out of curiosity and because I'd seen it a couple times walking by, and I was hungry today. When I walked inside, I said hello and the lady behind the till said, "FIND A TABLE AND ORDER FROM THE TILL" I think to myself, it's a little rude but maybe it's just because she doesn't speak English well. Fine. I walk to the seat I want that's only 2 metres from the door and she yells again, "FIND A SEAT AND ORDER FROM TILL". I've seen the menu from outside so I want to order, and I walk over to the till- "FIND A TABLE FIRST THEN ORDER FROM THE TILL" By this point I'm not even hungry for whatever meal they might have. I don't recommend stepping inside this store.
Yanisa P — Google review
The broth was very bland and I used soy sauce to add a bit of flavour. The char sui was also quite dry despite sitting in the soup. The only thing that was good about this place is the price to be honest (a decent size bowl for the price)

Japanese restaurant
Located on Preston Street, Bincho Yakitori is a Japanese izakaya that draws inspiration from the casual dining spots in downtown Tokyo. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere and a menu designed for sharing, featuring dishes grilled over natural fire with simple flavors. Chef David Miney's expertise, gained from living in Japan and cooking in Tokyo for three years, shines through signature items like kara fried chicken, pork belly, and chicken skin skewers.
If you hate amazing food, wonderful staff and fantastic atmosphere then do not come. Here, you will find a refined menu with flavours you will go to bed and dream about. We sat at the kitchen bar and had the most fantastic experience. The Korean cucumber and pork belly yakatori are essential. Chicken skins a regular favourite also.. I recommend booking the next table you can (be prepared to wait a few weeks) and tell all. Your friends. A true gem in Brighton emerging foodie culture.
Alex M — Google review
I had a wonderful experience at this cozy restaurant. The atmosphere was perfect with dimmed lighting that made it feel intimate, even though we were seated at the bar. The service was excellent—welcoming, friendly, and efficient. We didn’t wait long for our food, and the pacing of the dishes was spot on, with plenty of space on the table despite ordering a lot. The wine we started with set the tone for the meal, and the food was amazing. The pork belly skewers were a standout, melting in my mouth. I left feeling full and satisfied, but not overly heavy. We finished with a smooth Japanese whisky, a perfect end to the meal. For the quality of food, drink, and service, the price was great value. I’ll definitely return if I’m ever in Brighton again. Highly recommended!
Isar K — Google review
Gotta love Bincho! Brought my mum here for an early dinner and we both loved it! Shout out to the mixed leaves salad which had salmon sashimi! Very tasty!
Mary L — Google review
Legitimately one of the best Japanese meals I've ever had. Beautiful, succulent meats, with fabulous garlic rice. Just exceptional. If you're going solo, there's a good chance you can do a walk-in!
AVN — Google review
The food was delicious and we really enjoyed it. The staff were quite busy, so one item we didn’t order was added to the bill by mistake, but it was quickly corrected when we mentioned it. Hopefully next time the service can be a bit more organised.
Yanna — Google review
Not to be dramatic, but i could eat here every single meal for the rest of my life. Pork belly skewers are out of this world. Other faves are the chicken skin skewers, the grilled mackerel, miso corn and garlic rice, but no matter what you go for you won't be disappointed.
Anca E — Google review
Went for a meal for two today at Bincho, had a great experience. The atmosphere was energetic and the service was welcoming and prompt. We tried a few different items on the menu and all of them were great. Our favourites were the pork belly, chicken skin, the meatballs and the karaage chicken. Really recommend for anyone looking for a good atmosphere and amazing food!
Harvey A — Google review
Really excellent experience here yesterday evening - we felt like we were back in one of the great casual izakayas we’ve eaten at in Tokyo and Osaka. Succulent meat dishes, original fish plates, and some artisan Japanese beers I haven’t seen in the U.K. before. Lovely friendly and efficient staff. It’s quite loud, but we had no trouble conversing at all.

Japanese restaurant
Goemon Ramen Bar is a casual Japanese eatery in Brighton, founded by Nobu and Rui with the aim of bringing authentic Japanese ramen to the UK. The restaurant has gained a loyal following and perfected a mild, creamy, and full-bodied broth recipe through customer feedback. Located on Preston Street near the seafront, it offers an array of DIY toppings for their famous tonkotsu miso ramen.
This is by far the most delicious Ramen you will ever eat. The broths are delicious, full of wonderful flavours and the Gyozas are beyond fresh! The staff are friendly, kind and knowledgeable. You may have to Que at peak times by this is more than worth the wait. For those with smaller appetites this restaurant also offers smaller bowls of Ramen! Very generous portions.
Cara B — Google review
Came here on a Friday night for dinner. Short wait outside, but we were seated within 10 minutes (2 people). The food was delicious! Very authentic and tasty. It’s nice to have the option for a small or a medium size! The staff were very kind and helpful too. We will be returning soon! 🍜✨
Panni A — Google review
This place's ramen is truly authentic and delicious. I apologize for posting a one-star review just to let those who enjoy reading negative comments have a look. Don't hesitate, come and try this place! In comparison, many ramen shops in London seem so "crap". This place, whether it's the broth, the softness of the noodles, or this groza that I ordered twice, is at a nearly perfect level.
Fox S — Google review
There are often queues outside of this place and I can see why! This place serves fantastic ramen and other Japanese foods. The service is quick and polite and the food is authentic. As with ramen places in Japan, things are done swiftly, you'll likely be eating within 5 minutes. I would definitely come back and I would recommend you go as well!
Leslie P — Google review
This Japanese ramen shop was a pleasant surprise. The ramen they serve is very authentic and layered, with generous portions. The pork bone broth is rich and tender, and the noodles are slightly different from the usual ramen. The best part is that they also offer tsukemen, which is very rare in the UK. The tsukemen broth is absolutely first-rate, and it's definitely not your average ramen broth because it's significantly richer. It's a perfect match with the tsukemen. For snacks, we had the takoyaki, which was excellent in both texture and flavor. Anyone who loves Japanese ramen should definitely try it.
Zen C — Google review
Lovely atmosphere, staff where amazing and checked up as soon as they could. Plates taken quickly also what was nice for keeping space on the table. Gyzora was amazing the Ramen was even better with the nice tasting miso soup and the black seed ice cream hit the last spot i needed to hit. Lovely place will come again!
Jack D — Google review
The service there is very good, all staffs are smiling to customers. After you ordering, they will show you the pad to double check and provide tap water by default. However, even I chose the best seller, I need to say the ramen was not really good. The broth is very plain, and only can taste the salty flavor. The black garlic oil is special but just add some bitter flavours to the ramen T T. The 4 star is for the service but I am afraid I will not recommend this restaurant.
赵杰瑞(Jerry Z — Google review
Really enjoyed the bao bun – the chicken was delicious. The ramen was tasty too, but had a bit too many noodles and not enough veg or meat. I also tried the chicken rice, which was good, but it would’ve been even better with a bit of kimchi on the side.

Nestled in the heart of Brighton's bustling shopping district, Noodles Soup is a delightful haven for noodle enthusiasts seeking a quick and satisfying meal. This charming eatery offers an extensive menu filled with various noodle dishes, including enticing options like Spicy Korean noodles that transport your taste buds across continents. The vibrant atmosphere is complemented by its location among lively nightclubs and bars, making it an ideal stop after a night out or during a midday shopping spree.
A hidden gem! I first visited Noodles Soup many years ago and instantly fell in love with the delicious food and humble eating experience. So reasonably priced and lots of choice, image is of the pork which was super yummy (the beef noodle soup though is a staple ofc). 100% recommend
Sammy P — Google review
I am literally half-Malaysian half-Singaporean and this is the most authentic noodles I’ve had in the UK. The vibe was perfect, the portions were big, and the flavours were popping. Hit me so deep in my soul I felt a tear in my eye but then sucked it back in because I remembered we don’t express feelings that way. Oh and also great value. Man, like, sometimes you can just tell when the owners love the place. (Pic taken by my girlfriend. I had the beef offal noodles soup.)
Matt C — Google review
this was so nice! The service was kind and lovely and the food came fast and was delicious! Also it’s quite cheap in comparison to other noodle places
Kit L — Google review
Comfortably some of the most authentic and delicious Asian food I’ve had outside of Asia. Always get number 73, Honey bbq pork in spicy Laksa with egg noodles and it’s not once disappointed.
Chris F — Google review
Rich broth, beef was very soft and was melting in the mouth. This ramen is spicy but it’s worth it. Definitely recommend.
Olly B — Google review
I really love this place! If you’ve travelled around Asia and enjoy authentic noodles, this is a must-visit. The prices are very reasonable, and the dishes bring the feel of an Asian street food market—quick, fresh, and full of flavour. The staff are warm and welcoming, and they’ve got all the spices you’d want—vinegar, garlic, chili, and more—so you can tailor the taste just how you like it. I highly recommend it!

This was the best meal we had in Brighton!! Great value, large portions, incredible flavours. The vibe of the place was also so lovely. 10/10 would recommend and would definitely come back!!

Sushi restaurant
MOSHIMO is a modern sushi restaurant with sliding screens that open to the outside and a deck featuring Japanese-style seats. The restaurant is known for its sustainability efforts, offering a menu that is largely vegan-friendly. Dishes include plant-based sashimi, vegan tempura, and sushi rolls filled with vegan crab, tuna, or salmon. The menu features color-coded dishes to distinguish completely plant-based options, along with vegan wines.
Visited Moshimo for the first time tonight and immediately had to leave a review. The food was incredible, so many vegan options!!! We were served by a lovely girl with long lashes and a pretty pink dress, I think her name was daisy, what a delight! Will be back soon
Charli J — Google review
Atmosphere was a bit quiet as there was a huge storm outside so it was less busy than usual. It's normally lively and enjoyable though. Food was exceptionally good, as it always is here. Great value, especially with the annual members card. Fantastic variety, catering for veggies and vegans too, yay! Would love a bit more vegan protein that isn't fake meat, but hey, I'm not complaining, just gently suggesting! Staff are always friendly, capable, available and competent. All in all a reliably fantastic restaurant with great prices, wonderful food, super service and a friendly vibe. Highly recommended!
Paul J — Google review
Had a really nice server. Food was amazing. We ordered 2 £80 sushi boats, very good price for us since we were about 8 people.
Ketchup ( — Google review
Disappointing visit, would not recommend This visit was quite a letdown overall. The restaurant felt unclean, and the bathrooms were unpleasant with two taps not working and no tissues available to dry hands. The food was below expectations. The ribs, which were advertised as “fall off the bone,” were hard, dry and chewy. The sauce did not help, and I had to send them back. The chicken katsu was bland and served somewhat cold, as was the rice, even though the waiter said it had been freshly made. The sushi was another disappointment, with very overcooked rice that ruined the texture, although the salmon and avocado inside were fresh and enjoyable. There were a few positives. The presentation of the dishes was very nice. The vegetable tempura had a lovely batter and the gluten free option was inclusive and thoughtful. The gyoza were soft and the sauce paired well. I also appreciated that gluten free soy sauce was available. Service was another weak point. The waiters mostly stood around chatting to each other, and a member of our group had to get up twice to get their attention because they were not paying attention to tables. In summary, while there were some nice touches, the poor hygiene, disappointing food and inattentive service make this a place I would not recommend.
Elina — Google review
The menu is simple with not much thrills. Simplistic you could say. Ordered a big sushi boat (£100)and few sides and noodles. The food came out in good time and the waitress was accommodating and doing her best, thumbs up to her. The food itself was disappointing and not very good vfm. Ribs were very dry, the teriyaki chicken was going on dry, the noodles lacked any umpff, the sushi was fine but not worth the money in my opinion.
Dao M — Google review
Our favourite sushi restaurant! The food is always so good and so many delicious options to choose from. A good balance of fish, meat & vegan varieties. The service is consistently high, staff are very patient, attentive and good at offering menu advice. They also don’t seem to mind the mess my two young children make when they eat the ribs! The kids say it’s their favourite place to eat.
Andrea C — Google review
Great food and delicious but felt the service was a little off than other times we have been. No warm welcome and the table service was not overly attentive or cheerful. It was my son's 18th and he loves Moshimo. I did put that it was a birthday booking on the reservation but nothing was said. It could have just been an off night...It happens.

Despite being tucked away near popular pubs and entertainment venues, this gem is not to be missed. The restaurant exudes character with its fusion of regency architecture and Japanese culture. Known for generous portions at affordable prices, Pompoko serves up dishes like Chille Ebi Don and Tempura Prawns that keep customers coming back for more.
Wonderful and cozy spot, with honestly some of the best value for money authentic oriental cuisine in the area. Went out with my mother and we were very impressed with the intricate effort put into each dish. Could not recommend enough but prepare for cash only 🫶🏽

Small but tidy place to eat-in. Low price for all the dishes but super delicious. All the Beto rice that we ordered are outstanding. Absolutely amazing. Food was fresh, hot and crispy. Tasted beautiful. Staff were delightful and friendly and really enjoyed the time there. The place is clean and cozy. We sat downstairs but there is seating upstairs and outside. We already want to go back.
Mia L — Google review
Nice small Japanese casual restaurant serving classic Japanese hot dishes like Katsu curry and chicken teriyaki and much more. The highlight here are the prices almost all dishes are under 10£ which is rare to find nowadays. Portion sizes are decent and they have plenty of seats upstairs too. You order at the counter but make sure you bring cash as they only accept cash. For a 2.5£ fee you can even bring your own booze 😂

Cute little Japanese restaurant with good service. Order and pay first at the counter and find a seat. The pork shouga yaki don was good but the prawn yakisoba only tasted like oyster sauce.

Wagamama Brighton Central offers a casual dining experience with its Japanese-inspired setting and communal benches. The restaurant's minimal decor and communal tables make it an ideal spot for a quick meal after exploring the vibrant lanes of Brighton. Additionally, visitors can enjoy various local events such as the Big Beach Bootique by Fatboy Slim in June and the annual Brighton Gay Pride carnival in August.
Love the food here. My favourite is the prawn raisukaree, hot honey chicken for starters it’s an absolute treat. Love the smoothies too. The waiters/waitresses are always friendly, smiley and welcoming. We had Alina serve us on a couple of occasions, she is really lovely. Thank you guys for the great experience eating there.

The severs I had were SO lovely and made sure my allergy order was safe, even making sure to rewash the ladle to reduce any cross contamination risk. The lemonade was lovely as always and tried the new Raspberry Snow Cake which was good. Playlist was enjoyable and not too loud too.

Had a lovely meal today at Wagamama. The service by Willow was incredible, she was so polite and friendly - I felt as if nothing was too much for her! The food was fresh, hot and tasty! We had the set lunch menu, which was a main a drink for £12 - bargain, deffo recommend. Great vibe in the restaurant too

First time here in Wagamama in Brighton - food pretty okay - unsure whether we just chose badly tonight!!! Wouldn’t rave about it but having had a couple of side dishes, a bottle of wine and 2 mains at £61 it was good value. The chicken Katsu would not rate - had better ITSU take away at Tesco for a third of the price but the Ramon was a little better although chilli a bit over done and I do like it hot. All in all - not a disaster which is interesting I am giving a review. I either go wow amazing or oh no a disaster ( which is rare) This is pretty middle of the road as is the service. Staff are efficient but don’t feel connected to customers which is hard to articulate - but they are slightly aloof which is as interesting as it is odd Worth trying out for the middle of road experience. At these prices it’s okay to be middle of road. Good budget experience so gets 3 stars! Overall decent value - but maybe we choose wrong!! Worth a re-try!
RWK - — Google review
Having never tried Wagamama, thought i'd give it a go while in Brighton. It was ok. I had a ramen - I believe it was a chicken with lots of chilli. Noodles were a little soggy, not the best. My little one had a noodle dish from the kids menu. It was covered in a sweet, sickly sauce - he couldn't eat it. Drinks were ok and tasted as if they had seasoning in them. I would give Wagamama another go as I saw people around me with rice dishes that looked devine!

I’ve attended dozens of Wagamamas before and had hundreds of ramens, but this was by far the worst. It did taste awfully bland, waiter forgot to bring the salt which asked. Service was slow and clearly waiter allocations were not clear, tables were touches by multiple people.

Asian grocery store
Unithai Oriental Market Ltd is a hidden gem located on Church Road, seamlessly blending Brighton and Hove. It's not just a grocery store but also a casual eatery offering delicious home-style Thai cooking at great prices. The market provides an incredible selection of Thai ingredients for those looking to cook their own dishes like pad see ew or red curry with duck. Additionally, it offers English sparkling and five styles of sherry alongside local Sussex dishes and Spanish tapas, creating unique culinary fusions.
I recently ordered a Pork Pad Thai from UniThai Oriental Market in Hove, and it did not disappoint! The portion was generous, with plenty of tender pork, perfectly cooked rice noodles, and a great balance of sweet, tangy, and umami flavors. The fresh lime, crunchy peanuts, and bean sprouts added the perfect finishing touch. It wasn’t greasy, and the flavors tasted authentic—just like something you’d get from a proper Thai street food stall. UniThai isn’t just a place for great takeaway—it’s a hidden gem. It’s primarily an Asian grocery store, packed with Thai, Japanese, and other Southeast Asian ingredients, from fresh produce to specialty sauces and snacks. In addition to its takeaway service, it also has a small restaurant tucked inside, serving up freshly cooked Thai dishes at very reasonable prices. If you’re in Hove and craving authentic Thai food, UniThai is a must-visit. Whether you’re picking up ingredients to cook at home or grabbing a delicious meal, this place has you covered. Highly recommend!

Having lived in thailand for many years, unithai is my little piece of Thailand in the UK. I go here to eat or buy cooking ingredients, and it's the only really authentic Thai food I've ever found outside of Thailand. I recommend all the dishes, but particulary the Pad Kra Pao, minced chicken, holy basil, jasmine rice. As your back in thailand here, make sure you are clear on the chilli heat level, otherwise you'll end up with standard Thai level, which for a farang is very hot. The owners here are lovely, really nice people. Always happy and friendly.

The BEST Fishball soup noodle in the UK, I still have not managed to find one better than Unithai. And you will find all your Asian and Oriental cooking essentials here.

Delicious food and great service. Felt like home cooked food. Fresh and light. Would definitely visit again. Reasonable prices with good portion sizes.

Chicken pad Thai was far too sweet and not very tasty. Pad Med Mamuang was also not tasty and had none of the usual spices associated with Thai food. Shame. This place used to be so good.

Some of the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand! The pork broth/soup is insane (see photo), so flavoursome, tons of noodles, spice, meat, deep, rich broth and you get absolutely tons!! For about £7. Super charming too, hidden away at the back of a Thai/Chinese mini supermarket.

Wabi Sabi, a new restaurant in Hove, offers an authentic and innovative Japanese dining experience. The cozy corner location invites diners to savor traditional and contemporary Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi, ramen bowls, and small plates. While some customers praised the fantastic food and extensive drink selection, others noted issues with food delivery timing and mixed service quality. Overall, the restaurant is celebrated for its delicious offerings and friendly atmosphere.

Loved this place! The restaurant itself feels cosy and intimate, with bold colourful murals, silk flowers and a lovely faux cherry tree cascading in the centre. While the menu options are so vast, they're initially quite daunting, every dish we selected was cooked / marinaded / cured to perfection. The service was excellent - staff are friendly and professional, and food delivery was super quick. Very rarely does my hubs give a 10 out of 10 as an all-round score, but Wabi Sabi managed this effortlessly. We will definitely be going back. Mission: to get through the whole menu!

The sushi is amazing!Nicely decorated restaurant. I don't like the service charge on the bill as I think the customers should decide about the tip themselves. That visit we would have paid more but on principle... Otherwise we love this place!Highly recommended!

First (and wont be the last) visit to WabI Sabi... took close family for an easy lunch, neither of them had really experienced a range of Japanese cuisine before so all new for them. Table booked online and arrived early, seated very quickly and then ordered drinks while we worked our way through the menu. The menu is daunting to first timers, lots of options and maybe some clearer explanations for some. We ordered a selection of appetisers and tempura, then a Bento box and couple of mains that included a Donburi bowl and a Katsu Curry to appease the teenager who would compare to Waga*****. We asked for dishes to arrive as and when they are ready which was great. All food was superb, clean and fresh and served with a typically Japanese care and precision. The beef tataki was amazing and the Katsu was much better than the chain version, thumbs up and indeed conversation from the 14 year old! Should have taken more photos but got lost in the moment and enjoyed the food and conversation. Definitely going back... I mentioned Waga***** which on looking would have cost more for a lesser quality! support local. X

Came here for dinner. We used first table to get 50% off our order (but have to get 1 full priced drink) Best in mind the sharing isn’t in the 50%, just talk with waiter very clearly BEFORE you order. We had some confusion but it got sorted. Food very good, boat was cool

Japanese restaurant
Ramen restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant New Road area of Brighton, Tonkotsu Brighton is a delightful addition to the city's culinary scene. This beloved Japanese noodle shop, which originally hails from London, has quickly found its rhythm in this new location. The star of the menu is undoubtedly their signature Tonkotsu ramen, featuring an indulgently rich broth that’s simply unforgettable.
Chili tofu hiyashi was cold and spicy, perfect for the end of a hot day along with a refreshing ginger and sansho soda. Absolutely delicious especially compared to a lot of other veggie/vegan options, would love to see a branch in Edinburgh. Tallulah and Georgia were friendly and made sure I was seated, served and got the bill without much waiting at all, which was ideal after travelling. Great experience, thank you folks!

We decided to try this place from recommended. The restaurant itself is very clean and decorated well. I had to ask the person serving if the air conditioning was on as it was so hot inside. She said no, then put it on. We were left for a very long time before being asked what we wanted to order. Then everything came out very fast and had to make room for everything on the table. The Tonkotsu ramen was very salty. I left most of the juice. The wings were very good! We ordered more as it was happy hour for wings and cocktails. The other server was lovely and because we were in a hurry to leave (we had a show to attend) did her best to get the bill ready for us as we were already away from the table and asked her by the card machine. It was not cheap but it is very filling and has some good quality of ingredients.

EDIT: Response to Owner. Thank you for replying however with all due respect, it shouldn't fall on the customer to provide your staff a liveable wage, that ownership should be on you. Increase menu prices if necessary so that it's transparent for the customer before ordering. Matter of fact is people DO get embarrassed to ask to take service charge off, regardless of whether there is judgement or not. In this economy, everyone is fighting for an increased living wage, not just restaurant staff. REVIEW: Decided to try the vegan chilli tofu ramen because their website mentions that the noodles are handmade. Was left very disappointed, the noodles just tasted like packet noodles, broth was sweet and lacked the umami flavour Japanese food is known for. Even their chilli oil didn’t help much, for some reason it was just not spicy. I really really wanted to like this place, even went for their large portion and extra toppings, but it overpromised and undelivered, I’ve had better noodles and sides at chain restaurants which is saying something. I was also really annoyed by the 12.5% service charge they added. If customers want to AND can afford to, they will tip your staff, please stop enforcing it on your customers! People like me get too embarrassed to ask to take it off the bill, and restaurants know this and purposely use this tactic to get more money out of their customers.

The staff were so so lovely and the food was incredible. 10/10 vegan options and even 2for1 cocktails. Great portions and value for money. Will be back!

Amazing vegan food! The chilli tofu ramen was rich and spicy with perfectly cooked tofu. The tofu, aubergine, and cauliflower katsu curry was crispy and full of flavor. Don’t miss the house ginger lemon drink - refreshing, zesty, and the perfect complement to the meal. Highly recommend!

Marrocco's is a family-run Italian seafood restaurant and ice-cream parlour located on Hove seafront. Since its establishment in 1969, it has become a generational favorite, with customers passing down the joy of Marrocco's for four sweet generations. The place offers a variety of flavors for their award-winning ice cream, including classics like Vanilla and Chocolate as well as unique options like Bubblegum and Jaffa Cake.
You can't visit the beach without having ice cream here:) Different flavours, some changes daily! I took the dubai chocolate and cherry almonds both was delightful&delish. Super friendly service and reasonable price.

The place was packed while we arrived around 7pm and surprisingly, there was only one waiter handling the entire floor. Despite the rush, service was still friendly. The food was impressive. The pizza is freshly made to order, the clam pasta was delicious, Lobster linguine(£32) was average and given the cost, I’d say the value for money isn’t the best…. Before you leave, don’t miss out on the Italian gelato.
Chi F — Google review
Their pistachio ice cream is seriously out of this world. Smooth, rich, and creamy, but most of all, SO full of flavour. Normally, pistachio anything barely tastes like anything other than sugar, including every other pistachio ice cream I've tried. But Marrocco's is unlike any I've had before. Their biscoff flavour was also excellent! Was lucky enough not to have any queue at all on a cold and windy Saturday, but I would happily wait in line on a hot summer day for the pistachio ice cream - absolutely worth it!!

We went here to try the popular Dubai Ice cream. It was nice and fairly priced. We also did try the dining menu, but we did not really like it. Burger was too salty. Pasta was bland. Chicken caesar salad tasted like the chicken was under cooked.

I’ve been here a couple times and it always taste as good as it looks, there are large selections of Italian foods from Pastas, Rissotos, Pizzas and the best Gelatos. We’ve ordered the Calamari Fritti and is well seasoned and very crispy we’ve also ordered the famous Crab Spaghetti and is very delicious( Note: If you ordered the Crab Spaghetti I advised sharing with your friends or family the amount on of food you get is a lot and more than I’ll expect), the ravioli is decent as well and in terms of the service is really good the young lady server she decided to gift my friend an extra scoop of ice cream. :D

Brighton Chippy Fish & Chips is a delightful spot for those craving classic British fare in a laid-back atmosphere. Nestled conveniently near the train station, this charming chippy stands out amidst the many options in Brighton and Hove, which can often be hit or miss. Here, you’ll find generous portions of fresh fish enveloped in a light, crispy batter that’s simply irresistible. The chips are equally impressive—thick-cut and perfectly seasoned with salt and vinegar to taste.
Fresh cooked while you wait. Fish was excellent and so many chips. For just over £10 is excellent value. They put on as little or as much vinegar and salt as I wanted too. Great service. Would have been nice to sit and eat but it is takeaway only (shop is tiny)
Montag W — Google review
Very quick service near the train station and the food is served hot as the chef fried the food after the order. We ordered cod fish and chips, it was alright. We also ordered battered sausages but I think the chef forget to put it into our takeaways bag :( The owner is really friendly tho.
Esther H — Google review
I paid £13.80 for Fish and Chips, and it was a complete letdown. The portion was just oily batter with no actual fish inside. It tasted like pure grease, with no flavour or freshness. For that price, I expected a proper meal—not something that felt rushed and careless. I won’t be returning.
Mohammad A — Google review
Had the best fried fish in UK ever! Thank you very much for Ash(Chef of the shop), as he was extremely nice to let me eat in the shop. Truly recommend this fish and chips takeaway located just next to Brighton station. Excellent quality, Reasonable price and Nice service!
April L — Google review
I had gone at probably the most inopportune time as the home supporters had just returned from the train and it was bustling. So much so that customers needed to wait outside for their order. However, the line of people were swept away by fast service; and the chips were the finest I've had in the city thus far. Excellent crisp crunch, with the nostalgic greasy taste any British person would come to expect from a true traditional chippy. 5/5
Adam P — Google review
Of course I had to try some fish and chips when in Brighton. After reading some super bad reviews on a lot of places at seafront I ended up trying this place before boarding the train home. I really enjoyed they took their time and frying my fish after order, so it was served super fresh. The small one was more than enough for me and I would be more than happy with a small chips as well, but that they don’t offer on the menu. All in all it was a good fish and chips.
Sebastian W — Google review
Scampi was great, you get 10. Chips nice and fresh however the service is a strong 0. The gentleman at the front desk is rude. Wouldn’t even offer a bag with the food after spending £15+ in his shop. Would I go back? No, the guy will charge 60p to put everything in a box.
Joy B — Google review
Went in today for sausage and chips.. worker wanted cash, said only had card, he was not pleased. Then I saw a small sign saying they cooked their food in peanut oil. This sign should be on their menu not on the side. I said that my son was allergic to peanut, refused to give me a refund, but if I had paid cash he could give me a refund.. i was then given a lecture of how important it is for me to ask how they cook their food. NO a bigger sign on their menu is what is needed (according to trading standard website) eventually his colleague cancelled the transaction. Will be reporting them to trading standards about the lack of labelling on their menu.

The menu features delights such as freshly shucked Jersey oysters paired with homemade chili dressing and rich crab rolls that are simply irresistible.
Great for all types of seafood. The whelks were massive and tasty. We asked for them to be cut up as they were so big which they did for us. Marinated octopus was also good. This cozy oyster bar is definitely a hidden gem in Brighton, located right by the beach. It has limited seating, but all the spots offer beautiful sea views, making it a very relaxing place to enjoy a meal! I ordered oysters, crayfish, and dressed crab, and everything was delicious and incredibly fresh. I loved the crayfish so much that I ordered another serving. They offer seafood in three different portion sizes—small, medium, and large—which is very thoughtful. The female owner was also nice and friendly, reminding us to watch out for the "pirates" while dining! Overall, a fantastic trip experience by the beach during the weekend:)

I had the pleasure of dining at a seaside kiosk and tried their famous crab and lobster rolls. I have to say, they were both incredibly fresh and delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the ingredients were top-notch. The crab meat was sweet and juicy, while the lobster was succulent and full of flavor. The rolls themselves were soft and perfectly toasted, adding a nice crunch to each bite. What really made this dining experience special, however, was the stunning sea view. The kiosk is situated right by the water's edge and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the ocean. It was truly unforgettable, and made the meal even more enjoyable.
Sha S — Google review
Had the nicest Jersey Oysters - reasonably priced - sitting by the beach. This place offers great variety of seafood including cockles, whelks, shrimp and anchovies - all you can wish when visiting the seaside. Beware of the massive seagulls! Can be very nasty - had one coming out of nowhere in the sky, knocking my head and diving into my cockles pot!
Ernesto S — Google review
Right on the beach, it is as simple and as perfect as it gets. Fresh oysters, prawns, and seafood served straight to you with the sea as your backdrop. Grab a plate, sit on the pebbles, and let the view do the rest. It’s the kind of spot where the salt air makes everything taste even better. Just one word of advice: guard your food. The seagulls in Brighton are fearless, and they know exactly where the best oysters are being served. No frills, no fuss, just seaside seafood.
Christina M — Google review
Very fresh oysters, delicious shrimp and octopus as snacks. Do not take rapanas, they are hard and poorly washed. Fast and pleasant service. very democratic prices)) The tables stand right on the pebbles of the beach, which at the same time is simple and with a beautiful view. The only thing is that there is no cover, probably not very pleasant when it rains or is hot.

This little beachfront kiosk, has a lot to offer in the way of fresh local seafood. Additionally, a little kiosk also sells other seafood, but this has been imported, and some of it are no so real seafood, just looking like that. In a street filled with restaurants, which one would you choose? So my housemate recommended we eat here. We were starving and our order was going to take about 30 minutes. The wait was worth it. So we ordered grilled pork steak. It is saigon style chargrilled pork steaks. I can taste a hint of lemongrass that adds freshness contrasting the smokey flavors of the steak. It was served with its own nuoc mam dipping sauce which is a combination of sweet sour spicy salty and savoury flavours. We also shared a bowl of their house special Beef Tendon - it is rice noodles in lemongrass soup with a hot and spicy beef broth, slow cooked beef, sliced short ribs and tendons. Texture play was there. The broth was clear, clean, beefy, herby and comforting. We also had the Ca Phe Muoi (Vietnamese salted coffee) - oh so perfect and refreshing. It was creamy and sweet and then a little bit of saltiness hits your tastebuds. Yes they accept credit cards and they have a loo.

I’ve been wanting to try The Big Bowl for ages and finally got round to booking a table for a pre-birthday celebration. The restaurant is small but had a great atmosphere - service is super friendly. The pho, arguably the best broth I have enjoyed! It was so flavourful, deep and delicious and warming. It’s everything you want in a bowl of noodles. I chose the beef marrow and short rib and the meat was so tender, the bone slipped off without resistance! Everything about the food was simply fresh and delicious! I will be back for more slurping soon!

Unsure if it was a bad night as we chose restaurant for good reviews. Everything was really awful. Curry was a cheap knock off sauce, nothing authentic - tastes like a mass produced version. Beef pho was awful. We regularly get Vietnamese and this was truly to be avoided.

SHELTER HALL is a trendy seaside food court located in a converted Victorian building right on the seafront. It features six exciting food concepts from renowned chefs, offering global eats and a variety of beverages including cocktails, wine, and craft beer. The venue provides banquet-style seating in a stylish hall serving food from breakfast to dinner, as well as a spacious al fresco terrace. Additionally, it hosts live music sessions and DJs on weekends.
This was my first visit here (I had only had a brief look around on a few days earlier) and it was great. You can order very easily from the different kitchens using a QR code from your table and enjoy the sea views and music. My food from temaki (Japanese kitchen) was delicious and presented beautifully. Good prices for the quality. Lovely friendly staff.

Had a really great time at Shelter hall. They managed to squeeze us in when they were absolutely packed. Also had this lovely foggy view of west pier from our table. Food was great and came rather quick. Didn’t take a picture of it all as it was so nice I forgot to. Really like the fact you have such wide variety of different places to select food room. We went for a steak, Parmesan fries and a sea bream dish. Was all very well done. Staff were really lovely and accommodating, asked for extra plates and got multiple from each place we ordered from. So be wary making requests on the app as it goes separate to each place you order a dish from. Just ask the bar staff or specify the place you’d like an extra plate or whatever you request is. Definitely would recommend and will be attending again.

There’s a great mix of choices like burgers, sushi and tacos, and everything looked fantastic. I had the chickpea burger which was delicious. Next time I’d love to try the sushi and will definitely be back when I’m next in Brighton.

Had a great experience at the Shelter hall. I think it is such a fun concept and could really help out when a group is struggling to choose where to grad lunch or dinner! I popped in here as an escape from some heavy rain and ordered a pizza. Food came surprisingly fast and was delicious!

The FOOD was PHENOMENAL. The STAFF were so WELCOMING AND EXCEPTIONAL. Everything was wonderfully explained and perfect. They were extremely ACCOMMODATING and funny. GREAT CHARACTER. Service was quick and easy to navigate. The ATMOSPHERE GOSH. Beautiful place to go. Brilliant photo opportunities. Cosyyyyy. Lovely place for all: families, friends, dates… THE LOT. Will go again. 100000/10

Just happened to come across this place and thought we’d try it. Both had a rice bowl & edamame beans which were lovely. Was virtually empty when we went on a Friday lunchtime, but can imagine a Real buzz when busy

Authentic Japanese restaurant
Murasaki Restaurant in Brighton is a genuine Japanese eatery with an atmosphere characterized by sleek design, wooden flooring, and abundant bamboo elements. Their extensive menu offers all the traditional Japanese dishes one would expect. Notably, their sushi stands out as exceptional, and it is served alongside freshly fried tempura. The restaurant's modern and airy ambiance was enjoyed by a group of six diners who found the prices reasonable and the service satisfactory.
So insanely good. I live 5mins away and it was the first time I went here in 3 years; makes me so annoyed I haven't tried it earlier!! The staff is so helpful and friendly too. The place has a cosy vibe, good beer on draught as well. Will definitely be back as soon as possible

I've been to this place a few times as my friend lives less than 5 minutes walk away. The service is always good. It looks like a place where people can relax after work with their friends. The bar really reminds me of places where people go after work before home in Japan. The food is tasty. The only thing is that I wish they had a bigger menu.

Authentic Japanese neighbourhood canteen vibe. Nostalgic flavours, low key presentation. Extensive menu and generous portion size. I’d come here everyday if I lived around here! Dog-friendly!
Keith L — Google review
We popped in on a Saturday Lunchtime to nice quiet atmosphere with chilled jazz music playing in the background, perfect for chatting. Friendly service and a concise menu with a decent selection of dishes, either in a tapas style or single main courses. We had two main courses, both of which were excellent. Good, large portion sizes with tasty fresh ingredients. The BBQ sauce in mine was possible a touch too spicy for my palette but still enjoyable. A selection of vegetarian options are available although unfortunately, the 3 main noodle dishes are not as they use a fish sauce base.

Great little Japanese with a good value lunch menu. Bento box was delicious, service excellent.

Cozy, extremely welcoming, big portions <3 The best udon noodles I’ve ever tried in my life ! ! ! Unmatched atmosphere for both solitary evenings and big dinners with friends. My favourite place to visit in this quieter part of Brighton.

We loved coming to this family run restaurant. The food felt authentic and reasonably priced. We typically go for sushi, but this time we opted for hot dishes (soup 🍵 + katsu curry 🥘) We'd love to go back and try the sushi next time though! 🍣

Vegan restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Brighton, Bonsai Plant Kitchen is a delightful culinary venture brought to life by the talented duo, Dom Sheriff and Amy Bennett. Their journey began at the renowned vegetarian spot, Food for Friends, where their shared passion for vegan cuisine blossomed. With Amy's expertise as a head pastry chef and Dom's experience leading kitchens, they crafted an imaginative menu that draws inspiration from South East Asian flavors.
This was our second visit to Bonsai. It was as SENSATIONAL as the first time. Unbelievable food and incredible flavours. Me and my husband enjoyed every single bite. We will definitely come back when we visit Brighton again. Service was friendly and the price for the quality of the food is very good. My personal favourite dish was the cauliflower, my husband really was blown away by the “pork” spring rolls. He was so impressed he ordered another portion! Absolutely delicious!
Tina R — Google review
The staff were really nice, the environment was enjoyable- the music was good and the tables felt casual yet still private. The grilled cabbage with seaweed butter was delicious! My personal favourite bite of the night. Their own brand scorpion beer was also really delicious and paired well with all of the food we had. This is the actually second time eating at bonsai (first time was 2 years ago) and unfortunately it has not stood well to the test of time. The first time I ate here I was blown away and this time I did not have that same ‘wow’ feeling. The majority of the food was good, but did not excel. The kimchi pancakes in particular were quite flavourless. However, I still think this is a nice place to go for a meal and I would still go back and be pleased! The ordering system is very interactive which is interesting, the staff are lovely and attentive, and the food is still good!

Amazing food and was a perfect highlight of my day! Two of us came here for lunch and we got four/five sharing plates which is the perfect amount. Everything was delicious but would recommend in particular: the sea bream and the Hanoi spring roll. The sea bream was the best vegan fish I’ve ever had 🤌
Sean C — Google review
Nothing to fault! From the start our waiter was so friendly and helpful, then the food was a delicious selection of flavours but not overwhelming. I'm not vegan but I would eat here over many meat/fish serving restaurants. Cocktails and mocktails were really good and offered a slightly different take on the standard. We ordered 7 dishes and a desert to share, which was plenty for the two of us. Good value for money.
Andres V — Google review
A phenomenal dining experience. The server was very friendly and the ambience was just right for some Asian small plates. The food came out fairly quickly which is always appreciated. We ordered 6 dishes, and our highlights were the karaage mushroom (delightfully citrusy, spicy and crisp) and the aubergine skewer (intense umami and delightfully smoky). I really appreciated that the menu wasn’t heavy on the vegan meat alternatives and used a lot of produce too! This is a must visit for any vegan, and any Asian cuisine enthusiast.

wonderful spot. 2nd visit with my mum on Friday and we both agreed that it is some of the best food we’ve ever eaten. My mum is a vegetarian and generally doesn’t get much enjoyment out of eating in restaurants due to the options being so limited. However, at Bonsai, she has free range to order what she likes and actually enjoy the food. The staff were lovely and very attentive and the restaurant it self has a great atmosphere and vibe. This restaurant will always be a go to for us and I have already recommended it to friends (one of which visited last week and had an excellent experience also).

Stepping into this lovely restaurant in Brighton, a place brought to life by Dom's vision, is a truly wonderful experience. It's clear that the passion behind the food shines through in every detail, from the incredible dishes to the welcoming atmosphere. We honestly loved everything we tried! The dishes are so flavourful and creative. Every bite was a delight, and the whole experience was just perfect from start to finish. You can tell how much care goes into everything. I can't recommend this place enough. We'll be back again soon. A special thanks to Urte for looking after us!

We LOVE visiting Bonsai. After discovering this beautiful restaurant for my son's 21st we've been back a few more times and have always been absolutely blown away by the incredible food they create here. The atmosphere is funky and super cool, also relaxed and chilled. You can definitely either dress it up or come as you are. The music is normally upbeat so if you like it quiet then possibly it's not for you. Neither my husband or I drink alcohol so we have a Mocktail and they are so, so good, definitely the best Mocktails I ever tried. The service and the staff are just the right amount of friendly, helpful and efficient, nice, welcoming and genuine. The menu changes fairly regularly. I have nothing but praise for this restaurant. They have created a wonderful experience and I urge you to visit! You won't be disappointed... Thanks Bonsai you're the best! ❤️🙏❤️

Kusaki is an upscale Japanese restaurant in Brighton that offers a contemporary dining experience with a focus on plant-based cuisine. The restaurant's interior features soothing green shades, wooden decor, and a striking indoor blossom tree. The menu includes vegan sushi platters and dishes inspired by Japanese flavors, such as turmeric tofu and smoked carrot fillings. Kusaki provides both lunch and dinner options designed for sharing.
Kusaki is such a lovely place. The food is always original, beautifully presented and so tasty. We tried a black sesame ice cream that day that was out of this world. Atmosphere is relaxing and soothing and the service is one of the best in town. Special thanks to Alex, who waited on us that day as they were absolutely wonderful!
Cecilia D — Google review
Lovely plant based Japanese food. The kaarage aubergine we had was delicious. Loved the kimchi rice too. And the sushi pieces were delicious. Wish they had more fun desserts though, we had the brownie which was ok but a bit boring compared to the rest of the money (every restaurant in England serves brownie as dessert). Staff was super nice and it wasn’t too busy when we went which was nice.
Simon T — Google review
I don’t typically write bad reviews but wow this is a bit upsetting - Pelicano, you’re really doing your sister restaurant a disservice here. Let’s start with the food (pics included) - so incredibly basic, to the point I was like damn we paid £30 for this when I could have made it at home. This felt like Sainsbury’s already breaded chicken with some basic hovis white bread. I’ve eaten proper Sandos, and this ain’t it. Even my kids wouldn’t eat this - it was a soggy mush with kids level crisps? This isn’t quality Korean cuisine, don’t position it as so. Atmosphere/ Management - During the day it’s so dark, empty, lifeless. The staff are a bit strange and openly talk about their struggles as a business. When staff are open like that, it creates a really weird vibe. Moreover, I don’t understand the logic behind closing at 1pm. A woman walked in at 1 to then be turned away, she looked super confused - I completely get it. I’ve lived in the area for years, surely closing at that time and avoiding the lunch rush isn’t sustainable. Guys I’m sorry but this would need a full blown, 360 revamp. Disappointing.

We came for a friend's birthday and had the most incredible time. The food is so beautifully presented and we loved the attention to detail, as well as the care from the staff, who let us try the orange wine, helped with our menu choices and put a birthday candle in our friend's pudding! Our highlights included the oyster mushroom karaage (even loved by our friend who normally doesn't eat mushrooms!), the fried nigiri, and the drunken rice which was so good I wanted to get some to take away. We also loved the ambiance, the comfortable chairs and the size of the table. It was such a lovely experience!
Joanna C — Google review
Old statement: The Service was impeccable, very warm welcoming and friendly. But most importantly the food was great, loved every bite of it. From starter to drinks and dessert. The location and the ambiente is great as well, good taste in interior design. New: they don‘t exist anymore. This thing is closed.

The whole experience was beyond our expectations. The service was spot on, with friendly staff that made our dinner enjoyable. Every single dish we tried was delicious, so much so we could not label a 'favourite'. We absolutely recommend all vegans and not to try this restaurant!

This was a delightful experience. I enjoyed all the food except the desserts they just weren’t my personal taste but were presented lovely like the rest of the food we had. The Kara-age mushrooms were my fave Brilliant show off spot and everything is vegan 🔥🔥

Really liked this place. Came here on a Wednesday evening with booking a table beforehand. I would suggest you'd do the same as it was full for a Wednesday (always a good sign). We ordered drinks, two small plates and two large plates and it came out of the kitchen really quickly (we were eating main meal in the next 20-25 minutes). After that we decided to have a dessert and with that it took one whole hour to order, get the desserts, finish and pay. So the service was a bit slow in the end but nothing to complain about as they were really nice and friendly. I loved the food, fairly priced and loved the fresh ingredients. One thing that bothered me was the lamb's lettuce on everything. Could be at least flavored, or maybe not there at all? I loved the atmosphere of the place, pretty decor, nice music...somebody really thought this through. Overall a great experience and would definitely visit again.

Highly recommended, generous servings for their chicken katsu teriyaki and very delicious! I like that they have a brown rice option so it feels a bit healthier.

This is a very good option if you looking for Japanese food option in Brighton.... the main thing I like is most items on the menu are served fresh and made in front of you ... they have few options for the vegans too .... I personally like the salads here ... they are fresh as I mentioned and are reasonably priced

The food was nice however they made me a chicken noodle soup instead of a king prawn soup noodle that i actually ordered however they did remake it and let us keep the wrong soup and the servers and chef were very nice and accommodating
Heloise — Google review
Are they even open??? We have been going here for years and the standard has been going down for a while. The ordering system is rubbish and if you order something they don’t have they just cancel without explanation. Aside from that, the portions keep getting smaller and the food really isn’t as good as it used to be. I spent a while trying to order something the other day online, it was painful but I’ve had this same problem before many times so I tried to call - it rang for ages until at one point it sounded very much like someone picked up the phone and put it back down. 5 hours later (and 15 minutes before I’d set for the collection) they cancelled the order. I was done trying before this point but that was a nice touch. I actually walked past there today and the windows are all painted like they are closed, so either their terrible service has run them to the ground or they are revamping. - If they aren’t closed for good I definitely would not recommend. If they can’t work out how to put a note on their website saying they’re closed or stop people from placing order… or answer a phone. I’m not sure they can handle preparing food.

Ordered this and was sent a single noodle dish (with horrible fatty meat) and the bao buns. Gave them a ring but no answer. How can you get an order so obviously wrong? Absolutely useless. This place used to be a regular for me, won't bother again.

Korean restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Brighton's Lanes, Yori has made a delightful addition to the local dining scene with its authentic Korean cuisine. This charming restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner, offering an enticing menu filled with traditional Korean dishes such as appetizers, soups, noodles, pancakes, fried chicken, and the ever-popular barbecue meats that diners can grill right at their table.
I had such a fantastic experience! The food was absolutely delicious. What really made the night extra special, though, was the service. Ed looked after us from start to finish and was brilliant, attentive without being overbearing, super friendly, and always ready to explain dishes or recommend the best options. A great place for both the food and the atmosphere, 10/10. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We had a very nice time eating at YORI, it offered a unique dining experience whilst still serving up some tasty dishes if you didn’t want to do the Korean BBQ. I would say the way of ordering by the QR code was a little confusing but the staff were very friendly and I recommend this place if you’re into this kind of cuisine and going as a group.

After a whole day of exploring Brighton, I was extremely hungry and decided to try this Korean chain restaurant after checking out their menu. Although it was busy in the evening, we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. We ordered the Haemool Pajeon, Spicy Sweet Chilli Fried Chicken, Pork & Squid Bulgogi, Gal Bi Tang, and two cold drinks. Everything was amazing! The seafood pancake and beef soup were particularly delightful, giving a wonderful sense of satisfaction. I especially loved their Passion Fruit Martini. The staff were very polite and maintained their smiles even while being extremely busy. This is definitely a restaurant I would recommend!!

Had a great meal at YORI Brighton. I went for the Galbi Tang with rice and kimchi — proper comfort food, full of flavour, and really well done. The beef was super tender and the broth was rich without being heavy. What really stood out though was the service. Edrian looked after me and was honestly one of the nicest, most genuine staff I’ve come across in a long time. Friendly, welcoming, and just on point the whole time. You can tell he actually cares. Definitely coming back — top spot. Also he server was quite the handsome man too!

My daughter has been desperate to try Yori, so we went when saw one whilst in Brighton! I should have walked out when first walked in as tables weren’t cleaned or emptied despite no one in there. Food was terrible, place was filthy service practically non existent. Forgot items on our order and the sauce on one of the chicken items looked dubious! Would never return.

5/5 such a fun and novel experience for me, would highly recommend This was my first time doing Korean BBQ and I found it so much fun Personally if I were to do this again I’d probably order more cooked meat and less raw meat, as the multitasking can take away from the eating, and our rice was cold by the time we ate it The service was excellent, the ordering website was a bit funky for me but our hostess sorted our order out for us without a hitch The food was so tasty as well, we ordered the spring onion pancake, some chicken, beef, and pork, kimchi, and egg fried rice, and we were more than satisfied when we left, cooking the food yourself means it takes a bit longer to eat and you’ll feel fuller quicker

One reviewer gave high praise to Jia Mo, a Chinese restaurant known for its incredible flavors and freshly made noodles. The service is friendly and efficient, and the prices are reasonable. I was expecting bit more but got disappointed. The noodles were ok however the amount of lamb meat was tiny. For the price of 12£ I do expect to get a bit more meat. The place looks small but downstairs plenty of seats.

Really good. Fresh, full of flavour and the guy working here has an obvious passion for what he does. The slow roast pork was spot on. Portion size is large, and so good you’ll want to eat it all.

The noodles taste really fresh and delicious, they made it all by hand which is really different from other types of noodles, and the new drink(iced tea) is really fresh as well, I think it’s the best match with the noodles! Highly recommended!

Liang pi is the best, 5 star! Murger I tried beef one, so so, but I think pork one will be better if you can eat pork. You po noodle is ok, handmade noodle, but if it can be more elastic (hand pullable) would be much better. A good meal!

Very friendly service with helpful recommendations to make the most of the food. The vegetarian noodles I can strongly recommend those where absolutely incredible with such a variety of flavours with chillies garlic and cucumbers, all these combined with thick noodles cooked on order rather than reheated made this a lovely meal that made others get food envy! The pork belly buns as well where very juicy and the meat fell apart in my mouth, perfect after a walk in the cold Brighton weather to warm you up for the last leg home. Absolutely loved the katsu curry! It was super comforting, the portion size was generous, and the price was quite reasonable. The staff were very friendly and kind, and overall, this place feels like a great little find. The setting is quite simple — more casual than a traditional Japanese restaurant — so just don’t expect a fancy atmosphere.

What a pleasure and delight. Hoon was a fantastic host. We are big fans of Korean food and have tried most restaurants in the area and have even undergone cooking traditional dishes weekly. With that being said, it is nice not to cook and enjoy the feeling of a home cooked meal. We explained that we were vegan upon arrival and Hoon put us at ease by explaining the whole and how he prepares each dish. We proceed to follow his recommendation of the Tofu Curry and Bibimbap paired with his homemade kimchi. I cant speak highly enough of the flavours of the dishes and the quality of ingredients and not only that, Hoon was a very personable host and we discussed all things Korea. We will be visiting again and look forward to trying more menu items. Hoon, 감사합니다.

Not impressed at all. I ordered the cold sesame chicken ramen and it wasn’t any good. The Szechuan numbing flavour is the only thing you taste and really didn’t had much other flavour. I hope it’s just this dish and other dishes I haven’t tried are better well next time.

£14 for a Chicken Katsu Curry. It came cold, with 90% of the bowl being noodles, very dry and hardly any sauce, the chicken was so thin there ended up being more breadcrumbs than meat.
