Firstly, the coffee. I am still looking for the best flat white in Norway. Det Lille Kaffekompaniet has come close but today the coffee was not hot enough. The coffee beans used had a very smooth and delicious flavor and the coffee was the correct double shot strength. The milk was creamy and that made the cappuccino enjoyable. Overall a good attempt and recommended. The service was good and they brought the coffee to you. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating for nice days.

My husband loved his flat white, and I had one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever had. We also shared an oatmeal cookie that was fresh, homemade, and absolutely delicious. The café itself is the cutest little spot — tucked away so that as you walk through the pathway, you stumble upon charming photo-worthy corners. It’s just adorable, and I loved everything about it. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re ever in Bergen.

a nice little coffeeshop, I dont know if I just came at an unfortunate time, but the bakery ive had, did not taste fresh at all. The chai latte, and the cake on the other hand were really good, especially the cake.

Such an amazing coffee shop! The staff were all so nice and my iced latte was delicious. I love the views that you can get from the cafe and the little neighborhood is so adorable. Sad I didn’t get to try any pastries but my fault for going so late in the afternoon. Highly recommend!

Hard working crew here. Baked goods were tasty but the cappuccino was the star of the show. My only criticism is that there isn't really a good place to wait when it's busy as it's pretty tight in there, and you likely will be waiting at least a few minutes. Your best bet is getting your coffee and/or treat and finding a shady/quiet spot nearby to enjoy it.

The carrot cake was insane. Very nice selection of coffees and was reasonably priced as well. Not a lot of things to eat though. But amazing carrot cake, amazing cinnamon buns also. Also saw date muffins, oat cookies, and some sandwiches. The carrot cake was 85 NOK. Very nice place to relax and be with friends. Great experience!

My sister and I visited Det Lille Kaffekompaniet after reading that the café—or at least the building it’s in—has been around for over 200 years! That alone gave it such a charming, historic feel. It’s a tiny little gem tucked away in Bergen, and although the inside seating was full, we sat outside and actually loved the cozy atmosphere with the fresh air. We ordered a slice of their carrot cake topped with a creamy frosting that had a hint of lemon in it—absolutely delicious! Moist, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The highlight for my sister was the flat white, which was recommended by the super friendly barista. She loved it! You could really taste the quality of the coffee, and the milk was steamed just right. Even though it’s a small space, the staff made it feel warm and welcoming. It’s the kind of café that makes you want to linger and soak in the surroundings. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in Bergen and want a taste of good coffee, great dessert, and a cozy slice of history.

All good. Went in the evening around 7pm on a Thursday. Fish dishes were good and fish cooked well. Pleasant atmosphere, not stuffy, relaxed and chatty, it felt good. Order at the bar hence the lower stars for the service.

Amazing Place. The Cod was outstanding! We had a little miscommunication issue on my behalf and I ordered a shrimp plate that I was allergic to, but immediately was taken care and offered options. The service was friendly the second we walked in. We felt very welcomed. Great Spot! Definitely worth a try!! If I am ever back in Bergen this will be my first place. Great Job!

We ordered iced mocha, iced latte and hot mocha coffee. The iced drinks are bland (watered down by the ice?) But the hot drink was just the right taste. So maybe they should change the recipe for iced drinks to compensate for the ice? Huge space inside with a 2nd floor. They have selection of sandwiches and pastries too.

Entered 30 minutes before closing on my last night here as I had the cardamom bun and it was the best I had in the other branch (Flottmannsplassen). Worried that I couldn’t make it in time to enjoy sitting in the cafe to have it but the staff said that we could enjoy them in the store for about 30 minutes! Unfortunately, cardamom buns were sold out (understandable since it’s SO GOOD), so we got the cinnamon bun with custard instead and two hot drinks. Staff were all friendly and approachable even 15 minutes before closing, they’re still entertaining customers 🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you for making my last night in Bergen so memorable!

My V60 was slightly acidic (grind size a bit too big) and the wait time was 15 minutes when there were only 5 people in front of me because there was only one staff member on a Saturday morning during busy time, but on the whole decent. They have a good selection of coffees.

It really has the best flat whites I have one with soy next day with oat and both smooth and delicious. also had their toast with avocado and egg. The bread here is nice and thin but super filling and tasty. A great to find a small cafe instead of the touristy branded ones that serve mediocre coffee at best. ✨

This coffee shop has a great atmosphere and the service is warm and welcoming. With their many awards, I came in expecting the coffee to really stand out. Unfortunately, the quality didn’t quite meet those expectations. I ordered a flat white – while the presentation was nice, the milk texture wasn’t as creamy as it should be, and the espresso tasted a bit plain and lacked depth. Overall, it’s a lovely place to sit and enjoy the vibe, but I feel the coffee itself could be improved to match the high reputation.

The mead was superb there are three types I recommend having one of each - you maybe tipsy leaving but happy The reindeer steak was amazing, the combination of flavors were complex and well balanced. The meat was cooked to perfection and not a step more. The desert were both enjoyable

Traditional Norwegian food, with great local beers on offer too. I had the mushroom casserole as it was the only vegetarian option - nice earthy savoury flavours. The brown cheese mousse for dessert was fantastic! Everything came quickly and the service was fast - a bit too fast for me, especially given the high price, I would have liked to slow down and savour this a bit more. The restaurant is popular and very busy, but has a lively atmosphere. A tiny bit underwhelming for the price, but probably more exciting if you're a meat-eater

This was amazing food. Traditional Norwegian dishes with what felt like a modern feel. Every morsel was tasty. My husband and son had the meatballs. I had the fish pie. Very tasty. Restaurant was fully booked but they let us order dishes from the tasting menu at the bar. A beautiful place to "snack" before our dinner. Everything was beautifully done, made us wish we got res to try the full tasting experience but this was pretty exceptional on its own. Every staff was super knowledgeable and attentive! 4 months later I’m leaving a review because of how memorable Lysverket was and how much I appreciate the staff and food. I severely injured a birth defected ankle hiking Trolltunga at Norway and their food made me temporarily take my mind off the pain. Our last night at Norway before returning back to United States, my partner and I decided to visit Lysverket. We had no expectations - we were just looking to do something special before our departure on a whim. Majority of the trip, I was barely able to walk around with severe pain using a rental car to minimize activity on my foot. I been to other Michelin Star restaurants, but the food at Lysverket absolutely blew the other restaurants food by a long shot. My partner and I were childishly licking our plates of food trying to ensure no one saw us just going absolutely ham on their food. While tasting their food, I was able to forget about the pain and those few minutes I was able to forget about the pain really meant everything. Four months later and my ankle is just now healing and oddly I still think about this restaraunt and the experience there. The staff were really down to earth, attentive and really took the time to talk to us and listen. They were just really chill people with immense talent. I met the chef, his cooks and staff. What ended up being a spontaneous decision on a whim to make the last night special, ended up being one of the most memorable days of vacation I’ve ever had. I left a generous tip because I appreciated them so much, but weeks later I kept looking for their bill and they never charged me. I don’t know why, maybe it’s because I was limping around and because I messed my ankle up on vacation at Norway. But I wanted to say to the people who were working that day and we met - thank you so much.

We had a truly wonderful dinner—the food was incredibly creative. The overall flavor profile leaned toward the sour side, but each dish had elements that either contrasted with or complemented it in really surprising and delightful ways. The only thing that felt a bit off was one of the male servers. He seemed like he might be having a rough day—he avoided eye contact and rushed through the dish explanations. We wouldn’t call it rude, but it did make us feel a bit uneasy. That said, the rest of the staff, especially the girls, were absolutely lovely. You could really feel their warmth and passion for the food in the way they presented each dish.

We came to Lysverket with great anticipation. It was my birthday, and as passionate food lovers, we were hoping for a truly special evening. Sadly, the experience fell far short of expectations, both in terms of food and service. We had made the reservation for our family, including our two young daughters. During the booking process, we specifically asked if the restaurant could accommodate children, and were assured that a menu could be adapted for them. However, while the adults were served their fourth course, our children still hadn’t received their first, a complete disregard that left us disappointed and confused. In any fine dining setting, such a lack of attention to all guests, especially children, is hard to justify. The service overall felt cold and unengaged. Our main waiter came across as indifferent, even slightly arrogant, with no real interest in making us feel welcome. The first course we were served was surprisingly poor, and unfortunately set the tone for the rest of the evening. Even the better dishes that followed were forgettable, lacking finesse, identity, or any memorable flavor profile. We did not opt for the wine pairing, but we did ask for a recommendation for the best glass of red wine by the glass, what we were served was uninspiring and did nothing to elevate the meal. The atmosphere was equally disappointing. The music was loud and intrusive, completely out of place for the type of experience Lysverket seems to be aiming for. Even the restroom was unkempt, with music blaring to the point of discomfort. In the end, what should have been a joyful birthday dinner became a disappointing memory. We genuinely wanted to love Lysverket — and gave it every chance to impress — but left feeling that the restaurant is relying too heavily on its reputation without delivering the experience to match.

The fish soup changed our lives. Thank you to Alison and company for giving us such a beautiful experience. The kitchen was very helpful with questions I had. We felt very taken care of and enjoyed our night thoroughly. ❤️

The team at Lysverket knocked it out of the park. All I will say about our meal is that I have zero criticisms and thousands of compliments. Most of all, I loved this restaurant because the humans acted like humans. No pomp or pretense. Just pure good vibes—from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. We came in at 5:00 PM, which is a bit early for dinner there, but we had been traveling all day and had not had lunch. Thomas could not have been nicer and let us be the first guests for the evening in the dining room. Service was fabulous and dinner delicious. We had langostinos for a starter and my friend had the wolf fish and I had the green risotto. We came back the next evening for a drink in the bar in front. Also excellent.

This is my honest review of the restaurant Colonialen Litt in Bergen, Norway. This restaurant, located in the heart of Bergen not far from the fish market, offers a truly unique concept. It blends a restaurant and bar with an artist’s residence and library, creating an atmosphere that feels both creative and relaxed. Inside, you’ll find artistic touches and frescoes, while large windows give you a view of murals on nearby buildings. The service was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the semi-open kitchen allows you to watch the chefs at work. The food itself focuses on relatively simple preparations made with high-quality ingredients. We especially enjoyed the small lobster-like crustaceans served with toasted bread – very simple, but delicious. Other dishes we tried included salmon with potatoes, vegetables, and a light sauce; pork with a piquant sauce, mushrooms, and vegetables; and another fish served with broccoli and vegetables. To finish, we had a creative take on lemon tart, which was refreshing and well executed. Portions are on the smaller side, and prices are somewhat on the slightly higher end, but the overall experience – with its artistic setting, warm service, and tasty food – makes this a place worth visiting if you are in Bergen.

No reservation on a saturday, such a tourist move (that’s on us). Three of us if you include our baby boy so yeah of course fully booked but the very kind hostess offered the sofa - which I can really appreciate. Thinking in function of the restaurant and customer experience. It was great. Good atmosphere, vibrant and young staff and no nonsense good food. We will be back in Bergen, and we will be back in Litthus!

Tried their bubbles tasting with 6 types of sparkling in around 1,5 hours. Great selection so you a really got around to try. Entertaining and educational sommelier. Was a bit speedy for my taste, but not a rush.

Had a business lunch, and the waiter is not very responsive. Food is simple for lunch but decent, thus 4 stars. Their egg benedict looks great, but unfortunately I went for the mussels. I make better mussels so it didnt impress me much. Interior is not great, but if you like rustic style it is fine. Therefor only 3 stars for ambient and interior and 2-3 stars for service.

The space, food, views, and atmosphere were all great. Service was okay. We had the Cowboy and Benedict, both of which were delicious - though the Benedict was a little on the small side. Prices were average for Norway, with each plate costing about $20 USD.

Loved this place, we went twice during our stay for breakfast. The staff are friendly and welcoming and make you feel at ease. Menu is small but solid - huge sandwiches! They were easily able to accommodate my request to make my meal vegetarian. Simple decor, calm and relaxed. Highly recommend!

Was a bit hesitant to book a reservation because I had seen so many mixed reviews, but I am SO glad I did! I booked a lunch reservation for 5, and to my surprise, there was only one other couple that had joined us for our experience. The boat ride in itself was an experience, but when we got there, we were absolutely blown away. When you get there, you are warmly greeted by the staff. Our server was an amazing girl named Paula (spell-check), who made sure we were happy during our entire time there. The owner introduced himself to us and told us to explore the property, which had breathtaking views. The food itself was amazing. Since we did the lunch, we had a sharing experience. First they brought bread, which would’ve been sufficient enough in itself, it was delicious! Our next course was a fish soup. Then, they brought out the cold tower, and everything on it tasted so fresh and delicious. It was more than enough for our party of 5. We had no idea we would also be getting mussels still before dessert, and honestly couldn’t even finish everything because there was so much food. By the time we got our dessert we were absolutely stuffed, but it was amazing! While we were there, we got to see the owner diving for sea urchins that they would be serving. Once he got back, he even let all of us try some fresh sea urchin that he had just caught. If we had booked a dinner experience (owner said that they were expecting 200 people for dinner on the day that we went), I don’t think that we would have gotten the same personal and intimate experience that we got for our lunch. Overall such a great experience that I would recommend to anyone that visits Bergen.

We arrived with our own boat without a reservation. Lucky us, we had a very welcoming arrival and everyone made an effort to squeeze us in. The five course tasting menu was a real treat. We had a tour of the impressive wine cellar and the enormous selection made it very easy to find our match for the evening. The whole team was very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything but the food was close to perfect. Understand that most things in Oslo is $$$. However, the bill to end the night would have been much better if the food matched the price. They use ingredients that is local to the region, but the portion was simply not big enough. They needed maybe, 2 more courses, for you to leave filled and satisfied. We had to find another place to eat after getting back to Oslo. Overall, the cook and flavour of the food was good but not amazing. Food aside, everything was an amazing experience. The location of the restaurant is simply stunning, the boat ride to the restaurant was peaceful, and the front of house team was attentive and friendly. Overall, we'd recommend the experience to friends but with a caveat of the food that's served.

The experience here is so wonderful. The food was absolutely amazing and our waiter Marian was the nicest most exuberant guy! He loved the sea and told us lots of places to go and facts about the food. He made the experience all the better for it. I would 10/10 recommend this restaurant, it is well worth it and will be a memory my husband and I look back on fondly for a long time.

Don’t listen to the bad reviews. Yes, it’s expensive, yes, it takes time, and yes it’s an amazing experience! The wine cellar is unheard off. They have the most exquisite and exclusive wines seen in a restaurant! That was so unique! The owner and his wife joined us on our table which made it all so communal. We came by boat and stayed overnight. All in all - a wonderful stay. The food was really good. I couldn’t believe that they provided me with a gluten free and lactose and dairy free menu on short notice. I still can’t believe I didn’t take a photo of my favourite dish. The halibut! I’m still licking my lips thinking about it.

I was glad that we chose this restaurant for the last dinner of Norway. I only wanted to eat seafood in Norway, and I would like to finish our last dinner with seafood. We made the right choice. It’s a nice seafood restaurant with the Bryggen view. We ordered mussels, shellfish soup, grilled flounder & brown cheese dessert, and all tasted great. Shellfish soup is little salty & thick for us, but it was still good. Service was also great. Only thing, 3 male adult guests on the next table watching the video on their phone pretty loud. (Again, no kids only adults were at the table) I was very annoyed with it since I don’t come from that type of culture. If it’s family restaurant or fast food, I might not care so much, but I didn’t expect this type of customers’ behavior at these restaurants. Any servers, hostess/host didn’t tell them anything. I guess that is acceptable in Norway. Or I should have told our server. Other than that experience, we had a good time.

First time came in 2018 with family, it was lovely, fresh, delicious with wonderful staff. We love wild salmon that time! I came back again 3 times in 2024 and this year. Still my favorite places, fresh torsk (Cod) is always delicious but catch-of-the day is my favorite, seasonal and local. Tried their Wagyu too but it was just okay. Seafood is better, lovely staff with beautiful view of Bryggen as always. (recommended to book your table in advance) 🩵

This restaurant, located right on the marina in Bergen, offers a stylish setting with large glass windows and a covered heated terrace that lets you enjoy the view of the harbor up close. The welcome was very professional, and the whole place feels a step above many of the more casual spots nearby. We tried whale steak – quite an interesting experience, with a flavor somewhat reminiscent of horse meat – as well as fish soup and crayfish. Everything was well prepared, quickly served, and reasonably priced considering the quality and the location. The overall atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, making it a great choice if you are looking for something more refined than the lively fish market restaurants nearby. I would especially recommend it to those who appreciate comfort, attentive service, and regional specialties in a beautiful setting.

We had lunch here today, everything was very delicious. The creme brule was also excellently prepared, with real vanilla. Quality ingredients, fast and friendly service. All the staff were very nice, especially the Greek lady and a young man. They answered all our questions patiently. I can't judge how expensive the place is in local terms (?). A big advantage is that you can book a table online.

Just besides of the famous local fish market and we enjoyed the creamy fish soup there at Bjerck! The staff are all warm hearted, the atmosphere there is quiet and comfortable.

We had a table right in front of the window. The view is amazing. I had the vegetarian version of the Classic brunch board and my boyfriend had The "Bergenser" brunch board. We both really liked it. The price is reasonable by Norwegian standards.

I got the 3 course menu, the starter was saltier than I’d like and the dessert was ‘t anything special, but the main was incredible! We got a table right next to the window so we had an excellent view of Bergen which was very pleasant.

If you’re looking for a lunch spot with a view in Bergen, Bjerck delivers on location—but not on value or pace. The food was fine, but the service dragged and the prices felt inflated. My partner and I came in for lunch and ordered the chicken Caesar. It was decent—nothing standout, but fresh and well-prepared. The issue was timing. Service moved slowly, and our server seemed stretched thin. It looked like they were handling too many tables at once, which made it hard to flag someone down when we needed anything. The wine pours were small, and each one cost more than $16 USD. My salad ran about $28. At those prices, you’d expect a more polished experience or something memorable. This wasn’t that. It felt more like a view-premium than a food or service one. To be clear—nothing was terrible. But for a quick lunch, this felt too slow and too expensive. If you’re short on time or watching your budget, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Had a corner table with the view towards Torget and Fløyen. We where 7 people that had a range of dinners and everyone where pleased with the food and service. Personally I shared the Kveitekotelett with on other. That in itself was a bit too much cooked and lacking salt to my tast (no salt on the tables) so just a bit underwhelming. On the other hand I had their Tiramisu as dessert and it was perfect, higher than my expectations, coming from someone that always chooses it when available. I will come back, but go for a more secure choice for main course. Call / order ahead for a window table.

We ordered Vegetable Hummus with Pita and Vegetarian Pizza. Both of them really really tasty, loved the dishes! The place seemed pretty popular as it was fully occupied and the staff were doing their best to manage everything. The place is a small cute place, they also serve alcohol. The place was short staffed on the day we went, so the service was pretty slow. The staff could have been a little nicer in their communication and also give out the English menu on the first go instead of us having to figure out dishes in Norwegian and struggling with it after asking for help with translation.

Great find in Bergen! The chicken and fish dishes were fresh and full of flavor. Local beer selection is solid, service is friendly, and the vibe’s relaxed. A cozy spot that feels local and worth coming back to.

The last four times I have been back tp Bergen, this remains my favorite restaurant - unpretencious, friendly and warm. Their shashuka's are lovely accompanied by freshly baked bread. Awesome. Today, for the first time, I had their Hangover shashuka - three eggs and added pepperoni. And it was gorgeous - not because I had a hangover, but I hiked in the mountains and was ravenous. Awesome experience.

We had two types of pizza and they were the best we had in Norway. The place was packed but the kind waitress arranged a spot for us. Atmosphere was was nice and prices were best in Bergen.

Loved our meal so much at Kafe Spesial during our stay in Bergen, we ate here twice over our 4 day stay! Top notch pasta and pizza in a casual setting. Pricing is so reasonable for the area. Definitely recommend if you are in Bergen!

You can order on a QR code, which I liked, staff were so friendly and fitted us in even though it was busy and we were walk ins! PIZZA WAS FANTASTIC!!! CRISPY BASE, thin yummy, good cheese, good pepperoni, good onion, and good chilli oil!!! 10/10 recommend, and price was reasonable!

Standard McDonald’s experience with room for improvement. Ordering is self-service and my order was ready in good time. Seating is only available upstairs, but the dining area wasn’t very clean - tables and chairs had crumbs and dirt on them. As for the food: burgers were a good size but sloppily put together, fries were cold, and the jalapeño cheese poppers also arrived cold. The only standout was the Licorice McFlurry - surprisingly good and paired really well with the ice cream. Overall, okay for a quick bite, but cleanliness and food consistency could definitely be better.

No breakfast. Not seen a breakfast yet in Norway, online it says they do serve a breakfast menu. Had a cinnamon bun and the center was frozen 🤢 Also people say this ones pretty bad, both in Bergen center as the same quality.

Avoid this mc at all cost... the food was decent like in every mcdonalds, but we didnt even get our whole order, wven tho we paid for it. The plane was crowded( wich they cant do anything about) but it was extremly trashed and dirty. And it was expensive

My mom ordered a burger for me from her McDonald's app on her phone, but apparently the order never came through even though she payed. I waited 30 minutes before asking the staff if they had gotten my order, and when I showed them a screenshot of the receipt that my mom had sent me, the guy just walked away when I was mid-sentence and didn't care. Left with an empty stomach.

I've been to many McDonald's in Europe, and this one was the worst. Service was very slow, and the card payment systems didn't work at the self-service machines. Orders took a long time. The employees were visibly confused, and everything they did was completely slow . The food had no salt, the burger had little flavor, the fries had almost no salt. The cleanliness of the spaces was not the best, there were several broken ketchup machines.

Badest service I ever experienced. I know Sunday at 10 om is hard, but the Card payment was not working so I had to okay at the desk. The Girl who was working on 21st. of September 2025 talked to her friends. Her friend told her that there is a Customer, she didn’t say Hi or anything else, she even didn’t looked at me, she entered the Details in her cash uer and as I payed she already was back at her friends to discuss loudly any Points. The Sweet potato Fries were cold and the Sprite Apple tastet like water. Sorry, But that was dødsdårlig!

We had a very pleasant breakfast at Espresso House Strømgaten! The croissant was incredible, the space was very clean, aesthetically pleasing, and calm, service was friendly and quick… highly recommended!

The Espresso House in Storsenter Bergen has very good service. There are a lot of students here and so there is always something going on. This makes it difficult to get a seat. The staff are super friendly.

Needed a quiet break from walking the historic streets before a flight. A quick charge up of batteries and some fizzy water was the order of the day for me. Very nice people and the pastries looked very good.

It is so cozy and spacious and it has a really good vibe they have family table with charging section its perfect for studying its very nearby to the Bergen library tho.i enjoy sitting here and talking to my friends. This is hands down one of the best cafes I have ever been to! Insanely good coffee, amazing food, super cosy atmosphere and professional and friendly service! Will always come here when I am Bergen!

Cozy small place to chill out even on Sunday (normally most shops are closed). They serve good sandwiches, coffee, tea, as well as beers. I also like red berries tea and apple cake, there are 10-12 tables to sit with many books and board games to play. Lovely!

Their ginger toddy slaps. One of the best hot drinks I've ever had. So good. The nachos are delicious, but could be better. Not enough cheese or salsa, pretty dry by the end. One of the employees wasn't particularly friendly, but the other woman with curly hair was great and helpful. Music could be a bit quieter. Thanks for having actual soft seating and not purely the wooden hard chair nightmares most public places think is sufficient (though there's some of that here too). The lady taking our order was a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Soup of the day is a great concept, bread, and butter that come with it were absolutely delicious. Cauliflower soup was also tasty, though I missed the creaminess a bit. The whole place is decorated with origami and there are some board games available so it's a nice place for a meeting with friends or a date when you're worried you won't be able to hold a conversation. After a certain hour the place serves alcohol so it's a café with an opportunity for brunch.

The place itself is charming and very cozy. Besides coffee offers they also have beer on tap. I only had a coffee americano and it was a bit too acidic to my taste. You have to order at a bar, but the service is really fast.

I’m still in shock from how rude the service here was, by far the worst I’ve ever experienced anywhere in the world. The server was friendly with other patrons, so the only thing I can reasonably surmise from this experience was a hint of racism. Best to avoid this place

Reserved a table to discover it's find your own table on arrival. Full indoors so had to find my own space outdoors (luckily the weather allowed this). Food tasty and portion size decent (of chicken and waffle). Pan Asian style, not much Norwegian about it except the waffle, but that's obvious from the menu. One for the hipsters to be seen at I think.

May be the best meal we had in Bergen. Stopped in for a quick lunch before a Fjord boat tour and was incredibly surprised. The Whipped feta sandwich (pickled bell pepper and dried olives) was over the top wonderful - it is presented open face like a bruschetta and was incredible. The sardine plate came with a very gourmet sardine (in oil) with an aioli, salt and very soft local bread. Flavor was incredible and a great deal (the can of sardines presented is sold in stores for 120 and the plate was not much more than that - great deal. My wife wants to go back tomorrow and order the exact same thing - that never happens on vacation. Service was excellent - the most friendly people we met the entire trip.

Food was ok, place has nice vibes, but it took 30 minutes for hummus, bread and chips to arrive and 40 minutes for the sandwiches. And we were not the only one to notice slow service. At least 2 other tables were complaining and getting frustrated. Staff was very nice, friendly and apologetic, but there was one staff that gave us wierd and judgemental looks. Will visit again but i hope organization in the kichen will improve.

My mum and I thought the food was delicious: she had the half-and-half open sandwich - half crab, and half goats cheese with lingonberries; and I had the chicken and pesto, orzo(we think?) salad. Yum! The waiting staff were friendly - and thank you especially to the kind young person who was sweet and took our photos 🥰 The nice couple sitting at the next table also offered to take photos for us. Visited restaurant for lunch. Food was excellent BUT the waitress forgot to enter the order… and after waiting for more than 50 minutes- in view of the waitstaff - we had approached them to remind them that we had not gotten our lunch. We will not return.

For my last day in Bergen, I wanted to explore less touristy neighborhoods, which led me to a cozy cafe called Nobel Popel. Place was pretty packed since the weather was sunny and it was the weekend, nevertheless I was able to find a place and got a cardamom and coconut cappuccino (63NOK) alongside a vanilla bun vanilla hun (44NOK). Gotta say, though the service was immaculate and the vibe was very cozy, both the cappuccino and bun were disappointingly flavourless.

The interior was extremely pleasantly designed, you could tell that someone poured their soul into that place. Also good sitting space with both sofas and chairs. The prices were not expensive, and staff very friendly, as we forgot to ask for oat milk (entirely our fault) they offered to remake our coffee free of charge. Sweet place, totally recommended!!!

Nice cafe with a beautiful interior. I had just a coffee which was reasonably priced (for Norway). The stuff was very nice and helpful. A lot of sitting place inside and outside. Wheelchair accessible and there is a place to change a baby in the toilet.

The cafe is so peaceful, and simply beautiful. The brunch menu is surprisingly sufficient unlike many places in Norway. We had brownie, cappuccino, cortado and the shared brunch platter. The brownie was fine. The coffees were good; I also loved the cups. The shared brunch was both delicious and very satisfying with cheese, fruits, hummus and else. The bread served was also very fresh and delicious. All in all, it was a good experience.

We just had a tea because it was rainy outside but the cafe was so cozy and calm and the service very friendly! (+ amazing music playing) We were also happy that it was open until 8. If you want milk or honey in your tea you don’t need to pay extra! Also really pretty hood where the cafe is located. We recommend!!!🌺

Noble Bopple has always been one of my favorite cafés in Bergen. I used to come almost every weekend for their chili cappuccino and often for brunch with friends their food and atmosphere have always been pleasant. But recently I had an unpleasant experience. We were with friends and ordered lots of things it was only me that have some food sensitivities, so I had a small lunchbox with something I could safely eat. But I ordered my drinks and dessert from them. A lady who works there, whom I hadn’t seen before, came and spoke to me very rudely in front of everyone, telling me I couldn’t eat it there. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable, especially in front of everyone. She told me to close the box right away, and stood there until I did. I completely understand that it’s their café and their rules, and of course I followed what she said but the way it was said really disappointed me I still like this café, but I hope next time they treat customers with a bit more kindness.

Great place to get a snack. The prices are quite high but the quality is worth it. We took a Norwegian cheese plate (including the famous brown cheese) and it was really really good. If you wanna have a taste of Norway finest cheeses this is the place to go!

We had been looking for brown cheese for a while, specifically Brun Undredal which tastes like caramel flavoured fudge (beautiful stuff). We found it here along with other brown cheese. The assistant let us taste one other to compare, but Undredal was so much better. We wanted to use up our remaining currency before returning to Scotland. We had 116kr to spend. She cut us a block of the cheese and weighed and priced it. It was within 2 cents of the total. Amazing service, others have mentioned to other parts of the shop and it is certainly worthy of business.

Fabulous spot for local cheese and gourmet foods. The staff helped us pack a picnic lunch with cheese, charcuterie and breads. Bought wine around the corner at wine shop. Great option for a fun lunch while in Bergen awaiting our embarkation.

Quite a varied menu thats mostly in Norwegian. Ordered a drink and sandwhich, both which were good quality. Friendly staff. Receipt machine wasn’t working when I visited but hopefully they fix it soon if you need a paper or emailed receipt

Quite a variety of selections for your drinks. My friend took me there and I ordered chocolate flex which was a protein shake. I'm surprised that it was pretty good. The price was also affordable. However the music was too loud.

The worst service ever. I was made to pay more than the price on the screen. When I noticed and told the woman who took my order, she shrugged her shoulders and said with an angry voice: “Yes, the price on the screen is wrong!” There’s nothing I could do about it. The sandwiches tasted bad as well. I recommend everyone to avoid this place since they are scamming people on purpose.

Everything about the place was great — the atmosphere, the food, and the overall setting. However, the experience was completely overshadowed by the poor attitude of one staff member, Tily. Her behavior was unwelcoming and dismissive, which made me feel very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, because of that, I don’t think I would want to come back again. I truly hope the management takes this kind of feedback seriously, as good service is just as important as good food.

If you’re coming here for the food and ambiance — you’ll love it. If you’re coming here expecting basic human decency from all the staff… well, just make sure you don’t end up dealing with Tily. She somehow managed to make a warm, inviting restaurant feel cold and uncomfortable with just a few words and a look. That’s talent — just not the kind any guest appreciates. I truly hope she’s just having a bad month… or year. Until there’s a noticeable change in customer service (starting with her), I’ll gladly take my business elsewhere.

I often visit this place as it’s my daughter’s favourite place to have a healthy juice and a sandwich. However, more often than not, the service always puts me off. It seems that one of the requirements to be working there is that you lack empathy and are rude to your customers. We visited this Sunday and I was trying to order through the app but couldn’t as it said they had run out of one of the ingredients. I reached the counter and asked an employee and she explained me that didn’t had apples (which is in pretty much all juices). Without offering any alternative, I asked if they could do it without apples. A straight NO in a rude way was said. Again, without offering any alternative apologise nor an alternative. Such a shame as the juices are good but unfortunately the service is not up to it. There is another juice place in the same shopping center which we will start visiting.

We just passed by this bakery & tried their Cardamom roll & cappuccino. Pastry looked all fresh & good, and cappuccino was also great. Downstairs seating might be little tight, but upstairs were specious. WC was outside of the cafe & needed a code but not charged for the bakery customers. Very nice cafe/bakery at Bryggen.

Our first visit to a café in this charming city. The coffee was good, the atmosphere pleasant, and there was a wide selection of homemade pastries and sandwiches.

Visited a few times on my trip, a great range to choose from and the baked goods are huge! The staff were really friendly too. They also have an outside area where you can buy drinks.

Enjoyed dining in at Baker Brun for breakfast with really friendly and cool staff. 😎 The total cost for all was around kr 250. Their "vanlige café" offers refills for just kr 15. The pastries were good and fresh. The pistachio bolle was tasty, though I think a slightly longer bake time could have made the dough more puffy, also the cream was soft and light with a hint of rum.

Manager at this place has negativ attitude. Commenting on the products costumers want to buy and delivers no service. Clearly he only thinks about profit putting in discounted products for full price and he was loud and clear that he owned this store and you do AS he says. Visit this place and it will ruin your day. 1star well deserved just because the manager is a douche. The other staff is nice though.

This store is conveniently located at Kronstad light rail stop. Open 07-23, closed on Sundays. Great for a quick visit, but prepare to use some extra time if you are not a regular customer as it is hard to find your way around. Avoid if you have a temper and a weak heart :-) Selection is below average for a Kiwi store, but I guess that's the price you pay for a central location.
