Patisserie La Cigogne is a charming French bakery and cafe located in the heart of Bayview Avenue. It offers a cozy and inviting ambiance, transporting visitors to a Parisian cafe. The menu features authentic French pastries, crêpes, quiches, sandwiches, and must-try staples like Croissants and Chocolate Croissants. Additionally, the patisserie impresses with its Dream of China cake featuring strawberry mousse and passion fruit coulis.
Excellent coffee, food and service. By far the best croissants in Toronto. The food choices are all delightful. I have had small meetings here over the years and it is the perfect setting and the $3.25 coffee is offered as an unlimited cup. They also have a lovely outdoor seating area. Overall, an excellent choice. You won't be disappointed. It's a hidden gem!

Institutional neighbourhood bakery with all sorts of treats, cakes and breads. Can see why this place has such a loyal following: their stuff is pretty and caters to all types of sweet teeth. Been here a couple of times and enjoyed. My most recent visit, we got the cream brioche and mont blanc. Brioche was a tad dry and would have liked more filling. Mont blanc was smooth and creamy and tarty all at the same time. Good amount of seating area. Prices are on the higher side but not unreasonable. Service is efficient. A good stop if you want some treats!

Danforth location: A good hangout on east end for baked stuff and sweet treats. Its carries standard “bakery & cafe” vibes. Their patio is pretty and nice sit out for the quaint neighbourhood. Baked goods are decent and prices are above average. Biscotti, Savoury croissant, turnovers amd latte were tasty. A good alternate for the american coffe shop opposite to it. It was our second visit recently and was sarisfying
HariG — Google review
An absolute gem on the Danforth. It was like I was transported into France. The patio was delightful and the washroom was clean. They have housemaxe French pastries definitely going to give one a try next time. The staff was pleasant and helpful. But their pastries looked like something straight out of Miraculous.
Val B — Google review
Love This Place! Patisserie La Cigogne on the Danforth is such a great find. I tried the pear pie and it was amazing—packed with real pear slices and just the right amount of sweetness. The croissants are delicious too—super buttery and flaky, just like they should be. It’s so nice to taste traditional French recipes. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!
Alina G — Google review
I purchased 3 croissants. The lady charged me for 3 different items that had different pricing. She said two of them had the same price but all three items had different pricing. The croissants reminded me of Costco. I do not trust or recommend this establishment.
Hunter S — Google review
This is an excellent place for a gathering with friends for breakfast or just for a coffee. The variety of french bread and desserts is fantastic. Very legit flavor of a Parisian croissant. The almond croissant is my favourite ever. They have breakfast to dine in (not the best but decent) with service at the table, also ice-cream and the best tea with lemon ice-cream scoops in the area. Their hot chocolate is also rich, creamy and magnificent. Perfect spot if you're in the mood to play some board games while having a nice hot chocolate with a little dessert (wide variety, including eclairs). The owner is such a sweet and attentive lady! Sometimes, they give you loyalty cards.
Alejandra B — Google review
I used to go to the original location for years. It was superb. Now it just looks good. They now all taste like old cardboard. So sad. Now I need look for a new place. I cannot stress enough how bad all the items were. We tried eight of them. Most ended up in the trash. The latte was so bad we could not drink any of it. Clearly the new owners only care about appearance and profit.

Nestled in the heart of Toronto, Jules Cafe Patisserie is a charming French bakery that transports you straight to Paris with its delightful offerings. Known for its exquisite pastries, this cozy spot serves up classic favorites like pain au chocolat, flaky croissants, and beautifully crafted fruit tarts. The menu also features savory options such as croque monsieur and a variety of quiches—think artichoke and tomato or ham and cheese—that are perfect for any meal.
French pastries and excellent espresso -- it's heaven! We had a vanilla cream square and a plum Danish, both flakey and delicious, accompanied by tea and espresso. The bathroom is downstairs.

I visited Jules Patisserie just few minutes ago, for the first time, and I can see why they have so many happy customers! “Javier” who was at the front, was super friendly and made me feel so welcome. He took the time to help me and even gave me complimentary pastries, which was such a kind gesture. Thank you Javier for this! The pastries were absolutely delicious, and the whole place had a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s clear that they don’t just serve great food, they also care about their customers. No doubt this is why so many people keep recommending this place. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

A french bakery/pastry shop with great baguettes, breads and pastries and cakes. They specialize in pastries and croissants (regular, chocolate, almonds and mixed). They also have a small dining area (4 tables of 2 and additional counter seats) where they used to serve specialty coffees, any of their dessert items as well as a lunch menu. There is an inside washroom (downstairs and thus not easily accessible with babies due to the steep staircase). In all, good quality, authentic European style products. However, the photos show the whole wheat sourdough bread (healthy but a bit chewy), the chocolate croissant and the cinnamon danish swirl which together cost $15. I was there around noon and most of their regular selection was gone. Additional photos were added in April 2025. They are still as good with excellent quality pastries. Prices were increased and the 3 just purchased cost $18 but the quality makes it worth the cost....

A friend told me the pastries here were delicious, so I stopped by since I was passing through. I visited on a very hot day. I understand the staff might be irritable because the store was hot, but they had no intention of helping me. I stood there for 5 minutes, and even though I made eye contact with two female employees, they completely ignored me. A man (who seemed to be the manager) came out from the kitchen and told them a customer was waiting, but they just listened and continued to ignore me. In the end, I was so upset that I just left. It doesn't matter how delicious the pastries might be, with that kind of attitude, I have no desire to ever go back. I will not be returning. It was the worst.
Hoon Y — Google review
The worst almond croissant I've ever had. I don't know if it's because the bakery had no air conditioning (what???!!!) but instead of layers of light, flaky pastry, the buttery layers of the croissant had essentially melted making the pastry dense, chewy, and doughy - almost like it was undercooked. For almost $8, I definitely expect better
A 7 — Google review
If you’re looking for a real croissant in midtown, this is the place you need to come. I could tell from one bite that they use quality ingredients. Staffs are friendly and the service is quick. They offer a variety of baked goods such as croissants, sourdough breads, sandwiches, danishes, tarts, quiches, cakes, cookies etc. We tried some of their products below. 1. Plain Croissant : 4.5/5 2. Almond Plain Croissant : 4/5 3. Chocolate Almond Croissant : 5/5 - Just delicious. I've never tried the chocolate + almond combo before but they go really well together. Highly recommend. 4. Mustard Twist : 5/5 5. Vanilla & chocolate cookies : 4/5 6. Apple Almond Danish : 5/5 - The texture of baked apples and the layers.. everything about this danish was amazing. I usually don't like the taste of baked apples but this danish? Please try. If you ever see this danish in the basket, just get it. You won't regret it. 7. Pain Au Chocolat : 3/5 I recommend visiting in the morning if you’d like to try various pastries. And maximum 4 people are allowed in the store. I’ll definitely come back and try their cake menus too.
Jojo — Google review
Unbearable temperature inside. Walking into the cafe felt like stepping into a sauna. The air was stifling, and I was sweating through my shirt within minutes. It’s impossible to enjoy patisserie when you’re fighting the urge to bolt for the door just to breathe. The staff seemed aware of the issue but offered no solutions.
Damon B — Google review
How am I only finding out about this place now?! The paste rows are amazing. The croissants are super flaky and buttery. It’s making me hungry just thinking of them now. I also tried the quiche, it was good and had big chucks of broccoli but probably not something I’d order again. That being said I’d definitely come back for the croissants again anytime!

If you're on the hunt for a delightful culinary escape, look no further than Ma Maison. This charming bakeshop and café is a treasure trove of French-inspired delights, offering an array of freshly baked breads, exquisite pastries, savory meat pies, and prepared meals that will whisk you away to Paris with every bite. The moment you step inside, you'll be greeted by the warm ambiance and friendly staff who are eager to share their knowledge about the menu.
C’est VRAIMENT magnifique!!! A small authentic representation of the finest French foods that everyone will enjoy. I have been coming here for more than 20 years plus. They excel in so many areas. Come in and lose yourself in the decadence and quality. Special occasions will be elevated by anything you take home from here. Come in ready to buy and decisive, don’t hold up the line while you lose yourself in the gourmet fantasy. You can always come back. Seasonal fruit danishes with custard are usually gone by 10am…sandwiches gone by 1pm, etc.

The Wyck Recommendation: Ma Maison Rating: 4.3/5 Croissant So Good I Forgot My Name Intro Scene There’s a moment, sitting outside on a too-small chair at Ma Maison, where you bite into a croissant and briefly lose the will to speak. Not from disappointment. From awe. You become French. You become flaky. You become whole. What Was Ordered Two croissants—each better than the last—and a velvety espresso that didn’t try too hard but knew it was hot. Also tried the quiche and madelines and had to fight the urge to propose to the counter. The madelines were soft little butter clouds, and the quiche was a golden slab of warmth and wizardry. Service Commentary Surprisingly excellent. The server was super attentive—like genuinely into the fact that you were there. No pretension, just warmth and a sense that you were part of the morning routine. Rare for a pastry place where people usually grunt and point. Vibe Check Quiet, familiar, and gently buzzing with old souls. The kind of place where people don’t just come—they return. Regulars nodded to each other like it was a parish. This wasn’t brunch. This was ritual. The Space Itself Part Parisian fairytale, part suburban secret. Eiffel Tower decals in the window, flaky goods on gold trays, and espresso served in real cups. The indoor layout is charmingly cramped, and the outdoor setup? Cute but criminally small. Prepare to elbow someone with your joy. About the Neighborhood Tucked near Islington and Bloor, in a low-key strip that screams “don’t underestimate me.” Neighborhood seemed full of Maltese locals, all in the know. There’s plenty of free parking in the back, which in Toronto is as rare as an honest realtor. Zero hipsters, just retirees and immigrants who know what’s good. Hits & Misses ✓ Croissant: an emotional experience ✓ Espresso: dark, smooth, no attitude ✓ Quiche: golden and glorious ✓ Madelines: buttery dreams in sponge form ✓ Server: attentive, kind, and present ✓ Parking: free and plentiful (seriously!) ✗ Seating: tight enough to kiss the table ✗ Closes early—dreams crushed by 4 p.m. ✗ No room to linger—it’s a grab-and-glow-up kind of place Final Verdict Ma Maison doesn’t just feed you—it charms you. It’s a pastry shop with soul, anchored by regulars who’ve been coming since the dawn of pastry. The food? Fantastic. The service? Shockingly warm. The vibe? Pure Maltese-Toronto bakery magic. Just don’t expect to stretch out and read a novel. This place is built for bites, not brunch marathons. Rating: 4.3/5 Perfect For A solo escape with flaky therapy Impressing your aunt who knows good butter

Wow, an amazing hidden gem that I'm surprised my coworkers and I haven't discovered before. If you haven't been to France and want to indulge in authentic French cuisine, Ma Madison is your little slice of heaven. From their absolutely delicious pastries, their croissants has the perfect flaky crunch outside and soft buttery inside, butter tarts, cookies and an entire display of every delicious dessert you can dream. To satisfy your hunger, you are presented with amazing dishes prepared using fresh local ingredients and all of the love you can expect from a beloved local establishment. Their Beef Bourguigon was fork tender and full of flavor, perfectly paired with their mash potatoes. Their roast chicken, with it's crispy skin and flavorful juicy meat, is another perfect option. If quiche is your fare, they have you covered with an amazing selection for you to discover. Oh and they have a nice selection of home made soup! It was nice to meet you all, Jay, David and Maho. Thank you for making me feel welcomed and for providing a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy your delicious and decadent creations.

Deliciously French! It reminds me perfectly of when I lived in France. There’s an amazing variety of patisserie with all the classics. There are also plenty of hearty lunch options, sides, and hot and cold beverages. Many dinner items are packaged to go like soups and lasagna.

I recently visited Ma Maison, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was nothing short of excellent; every bite was a delight. The pastries were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, showcasing the bakery's commitment to quality. What really stood out, though, was the outstanding customer service. The girl at the front was phenomenal— Prags was not only friendly and welcoming but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her enthusiasm for the products made my visit even more enjoyable. It’s rare to find such a perfect blend of delicious food and top-notch service. I highly recommend Ma Maison to anyone looking for a great bakery experience. I can't wait to return!

Nice place, good coffee and pastries, you can grab some savoury food here as well. Will benefit a lot from small renovation but otherwise pretty cozy spot.

A great find in Etobicoke. I loved the plain croissant with cocoa that was not too sweet! My partner had warmed ham and cheese croissant and sandwich. Both tasted great. We will go back to try other food. Nov 2020: Open for pick up! I have tried bunch of them after my 1st review. Quiche, soup, dinner, cakes etc etc. All good. We chose their to go meal for our anniversary dinner since no indoor dining. But we don't mind eating home with this delicious food.
Nozomi K — Google review
Sadly it seems like the quality of food has changed. I really used to love coming here, but in the last few months, the crème brûlée I ordered often now doesn’t even have a good top crunchy brûlée. The plain croissant doesn’t flake at all. Disappointed in the quality, which used to be wonderful and well made.

Nestled in a vibrant neighborhood, La Bamboche is a trendy bakery that captivates with its exquisite pastry artistry and delightful selection of French macarons. This charming café offers an inviting atmosphere where you can savor these delectable treats alongside Japanese-inspired cakes. Perfect for a cozy coffee or tea date with friends and family, La Bamboche provides a peaceful retreat to indulge in an array of flavorsome macarons that will leave you craving more.
I ordered cupcakes from this bakery through Uber Eats for delivery to my brother & sister in law who just found out they are having a baby. La Bomboche staff were kind enough to include a personalised handwritten note with hand drawings and made the delivery so special for us. Thank you so much.

I visited this café to relax and get some work done, and it was a great experience. Their coffee menu is extensive and unique, offering a wide variety of options. They also have a big selection of pastries and sweets, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. I ordered a BLT with turkey, and it was both delicious and filling. The café itself is quiet, cute, and clean, making it a perfect spot for working or unwinding. I also loved the calm music they were playing—it added to the relaxed atmosphere. The staff were attentive and very friendly, enhancing the overall experience. This is a great neighborhood café, and I will definitely be returning!

I liked the croissants but the drinks are okay, the matcha is not that strong in flavour (mostly milky) and the honey comb latte was good but not anything amazing. Their croissants were delicious! And definitely must try! Service was great and the washrooms were clean as well. The ambiance of the place and decor was cozy and very welcoming, I could see myself working here for a bit. Over all really great!

It would be great if you mention somewhere that the kitchen closes at 3pm I did a 30 minutes drive from home to come try your sandwiches. Arrived 3.30 w/o knowing the kitchen hours. Cappuccino 4.5/5 . i recommend it.

TOCA is a restaurant located in the Ritz-Carlton that offers seasonal Italian cuisine made from locally-sourced ingredients. The menu includes Canadian and Hungarian influences, featuring dishes like sweet-and-sour cabbage, nokedli, langos, and palacsinta. On Sundays, they offer an indulgent buffet with a wide variety of options including chilled seafood, smoked fish, cured meats, cheese, pasta, carved meats and breakfast essentials.
It’s been a long time but I used to love coming here for the brunch all your can eat buffet and unlimited mimosas. i cant wait to come try their current brunch buffet offerings. i love the service here. it is like being on cloud 9 in a foodie’s heaven. the cheese room they often use for the dessert cave is such a treat with the biggest spread of different desserts available.

The Ritz Carlton is a wonderful hotel and I wanted to share my experience at the restaurant on the 2nd floor Toca. The service was great and I liked the lighting and colours they used I felt like they hit the spot right in the middle where it isn’t too bright and it isn’t too dark. They have a cheese container they size of a walk in closet you can see where all there cheese is kept fresh, as well as cutting stations where you can watch prosciutto be prepped right in front of you. The food was delicious my only critique was the portions felt a little scarce but I must say their bread they brought out before the meal was delicious.

We got the Ribeye and the Salmon - both absolutely delicious. You could taste every ingredient and flavour. The Insalata Mista had a very unique dressing that we loved. Exceptional service and attention to detail! We were well taken care of the whole time and felt very welcomed; thanks Zaki and Grace. Great ambience with chic interior, fresh flowers and a peek into the kitchen.

The best Canadian breakfast I’ve ever had! The pineapple juice tasted incredibly fresh, and the mint tea was served perfectly warm. I can’t believe I’m raving about jam, butter, and toast—but trust me, it was worth every penny. We didn’t even have to wait; we were ushered in right away, and the staff were so courteous. I’m definitely coming back next time for brunch and dinner.

Elegant Dining Experience – A True Toronto Gem TOCA exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and professional, and the atmosphere was refined yet welcoming — perfect for a special night out. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was beautifully plated and bursting with flavor. The house-made pasta was a standout, and the cheese cave experience is something truly unique — highly recommended for any cheese lover!

The four star ratings are credited to the manager Ken. He’s such a sweet heart that we would go back just because of his dedicated services. The waiting time, the food varieties, food quality, and the actress were all disappointing in the beginning. But Ken, a very nice manager who originally came from Singapore offered a true 5 star hotel service! He listened to our feedbacks carefully! He took actions right away to make the customers happier! Ritz Carlton is lucky to have Ken working here! If it’s not him, the rating would be much lower!

We had a booth in view of the kitchen and the restaurant ambiance was calm and very much so enjoyable. I loved every dish I had. The beef tartare was comparable to what I’ve had at Michelin restaurants. The pasta was amazing. I only wish they had sweeter options for cocktails. The service was excellent. Had a great birthday dinner.

Good modern Italian cuisine. If you love cheese this is the place. We love the cheese board and the grilled shrimp.

Restaurant
Lady Marmalade is a popular eatery in Leslieville, known for its inventive breakfasts and globally inspired lunches. The bright and art-filled space features local art on the walls and a mix of antique tables and chairs. Since opening in 2009, it has attracted a devoted brunch crowd with dishes like the Moroccan scramble, fresh fruit crepes, and various Eggs Benedict platters.
Took a close friend here for her birthday brunch and it did not disappoint! We waited about 40 minutes before we were seated which wasn’t too horrible considering the line was quite long but moved quickly. Clearly a popular place. The drinks were great, I would highly recommend the cold pressed juice as a nice compliment to your morning latte. Personally I had the braised beef eggs Benedict and I can’t say enough good things about it. Service was good, not the most attentive but it was also very busy so I can’t fault them for that.

I was blown away by this breakfast spot! The selection is incredible, finally, a menu that isn’t overloaded with pork, but still offers so many delicious and creative options. Everything tasted fresh, from the produce to the baked goods, and you can really tell they put care into the quality of their ingredients. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were attentive without being overbearing. It’s rare to find a breakfast place that checks all the boxes, but this one absolutely does. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

Came here for brunch on a Saturday. Waited in line for about 20-30mins. They do not do reservations, so make sure you come earlier and aren’t starving. The place is small but they have 2 floors. It has a very cute and intimate aesthetic. We were seated on the first floor so I’m not sure if they can accommodate larger groups, but I wouldn’t take that risk. Once we got seated, the service was very quick. One thing I liked is the menu is the perfect amount of simple but extensive. There’s definitely some unique options on there. The reason why I have this place 4 stars instead of 5 is two-fold: 1) my partner asked for a larger salad instead of home fries as part of his order and his salad did not look that much larger than mine. It looked like maybe 1 or 2 more pieces of veggies. 2) the home fries weren’t cooked too well, they were way too greasy, almost as if they were overcooked or old. Aside from that, I wouldn’t mind returning.

I’ve been here a few times and the food is absolutely delicious. Our server was kind and attentive. The only reason I gave it four stars was the entry line system. We checked the website and knew there aren’t reservations on weekends, but what we didn’t know is if your party is more than two people and your entire party is not there, they will not seat you until your entire party has arrived. Keep this in mind if you’re planning to go earlier than others in your party. They will seat others ahead of you, even if you got there first. We went early and ended up waiting outside for about 25-30 minutes. Aside from that, the queue does move along well and wait times don’t seem too bad. The food is well worth it!!!
Caroline B — Google review
The spinach waffles were ok but not memorable. The small thin paper waffle was a good option to have if you just want something a small desert option but $8 is definitely not worth it. Overall I found it expensive for the quality of food. $40 for one person is too much for this spot. Staff were super friendly and it’s had a nice set up.
Maria T — Google review
Went here for brunch with a friend over the weekend and it turned out to be a really nice surprise. I wasn’t thrilled about the walk-in only policy with no reservations, but I appreciated how the server often came out to check the line and keep things moving. I ordered the Salmon Benny and while the portion looked a little small at first (made me wish I had added something else), the quality more than made up for it. The salmon was beautifully cured, paired perfectly with the soft poached egg and sauce, execution at a level you don’t often see. I’m already thinking of coming back to try the Build Your Own Benny just to see what other combinations could be. Cozy space, friendly service, and a warm vibe made it a perfect start to a sleepy Saturday morning.

Loved the brunch and I got a very basic brekky sandwich. Soft bun and all the toppings in it was so good! The place is clean and has a great atmosphere. Went on a Monday and was seated right away. Definitely need to go back to try something else! Parking on the street. Tables main and upstairs. Bottomless coffee.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Broadview, Lady Marmalade is a cozy brunch spot known for its delicious food. We went at just the right time because the moment we stepped out, we saw a lineup starting to form just outside the restaurant. I ordered their Aperol Spritz to start with followed by their Cochinita Torta (absolutely packed with flavour!) which was a pulled pork sandwich served with house fries (which was very flavourful) and their Classic Breakfast Sandwich, featuring scrambled eggs and avocado on a soft bun, paired with a fresh side salad. The food definitely lived up to the hype, and the service was just as good. It totally makes sense that there was a line up outside!

Bonjour Brioche is a bustling French bakery and cafe located in the Riverside neighborhood of Toronto. For over twenty years, this classic establishment has been delighting patrons with freshly baked croissants, quiches, tarts, and omelettes. The aroma of baguettes and pastries fills the air as dedicated bakers start their day at 4 am to ensure the highest quality viennoiseries.
What a super place! It’s small, cozy and very friendly. The food was incredible and so tasty. It’s a popular place, so you might need to line up. But it’s worth the wait.

I really had a pleasant experience here, Nathan my server was so nice and always asking if I need coffee refills or something else. Shout out to the maitre d due to his very welcoming personality. It was busy by the patio but had 2 tables for me to choose for inside. I had drip coffee and basque cheesecake and I really enjoyed it. There’s two washroom downstairs but no lift, it would be an issue for ppl with mobility issues. I spent $16 for coffee+basque cheesecake+Tip, which is a steal. I will be back.

I am new to Riverside neighbourhood and was recommended this restaurant. They have a wonderful and welcoming staff. I had plain and blueberry custard filled brioche and also fruit tarts. I love the fact that their pastries are not too sweet. They also have great coffee. One time I stopped by with my dog and they offered her a biscuit! I guess they are a great staple to this neighbourhood. Thank you, Bonjour Brioche!

We have enjoyed Bonjour Brioche since it first opened, many, many years ago. We were thrilled that many of staff remained when ownership changed, and the food is as delicious as ever (spicy bacon sandwiches, quiche, lemon twists, flourless chocolate cake, and their latte bowls are some of our favourites…). The service (especially at their take out window) is also great. I don’t often call in my take out order, but when I do, the person who picks up the phone always remembers my order and my name. It’s a nice place to enjoy a weekend brunch too.

Absolutely delicious! I bought a loaf of brioche bread and a spinach, feta, and roasted red pepper quiche from here to share with friends. The quiche was so creamy and the crust was light and flaky. I've never had a quiche like that, the feta and egg mixture blended so well. I would 10/10 get another one from here. The brioche bread was just the right amount of sweet and was really fluffy. I used it to make French toast and it was a hit. I ordered both of these for pick up so I can only rate the atmosphere based on the pickup window. The attendant was really nice and the black board and overall vibe of bonjour brioche was excellent.

Follow @bredgyeats on IG for more food posts! Bonjour, and goodbye, I'm going up to my room to enjoy my triple banana pudding in peace. The trio of the creamy banana pudding base, moist banana bread chunks, and caramelized slices of banana bring a rich taste with hints of creamy vanilla, and finished with a drizzle of caramel to add a sweet richness in each bite. Flourless Chocolate Cake - Decadent and rich chocolate cake but quite heavy and dense. Exterior was slightly more crisp, and texture was smooth. Chocolate taste had depth, like at least two different tastes of chocolate. Also not overly sweet. Spicy Bacon - Bacon had a nice balance of flavour, not overly salty with a slight sweetness. Cheddar provided some sharpness and creaminess along with the avocado to increase depth, and tomato for a fresh ingredient. Baguette was still crisp even with takeout but got a little chewy after a bit.

Bonjour Brioche was an amazing brunch spot, the place was simple and cozy. The service was great and everything was delicious. Highly recommend the salmon eggs Benedict, probably the best eggs Benedict I've had and the French toast was amazing as well. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try most of the pastries as they were sold out (around 1PM). If you want to try the brioche or croissants I suggest going earlier.

When I first stumbled upon Nadege on Queen West in 2010, I had no idea I was about to walk into a place that would become so much more than a pastry shop to me. Back then, it felt like a breath of fresh air—a modern, clean haven offering a dazzling variety of delicious creations. I quickly learned that the magic behind it all was Nadège Nourian, a fourth-generation French pastry chef from Lyon. Knowing her family's rich history made every bite feel like a connection to a long, beautiful tradition of craftsmanship. Over the years, this place has become a constant in my life. It's where I go for the intricate layers of the Marie Antoinette cake, a true masterpiece of flavour and texture. The individual donut cakes are a sweet, delightful indulgence, and the canelés—my absolute must-have—are a perfect symphony of crispy, caramelized shell and soft, custardy center. They are the simple, elegant pastries I always return to, a little taste of perfection every time. But Nadege is more than just pastries. It’s a wonderful spot for a light breakfast, a quick snack, or a delicious small sandwich. It has been a quiet witness to so many moments, both big and small, in my life. Every visit feels like coming home, and with each canelé, I'm reminded of the simple joy of discovering something truly special. It’s a place that not only satisfies my cravings but also touches my heart with its unwavering commitment to beauty and flavour.

Nadège Patisserie is the kind of place that makes you pause mid-stride on Queen Street, as though the universe just whispered, “Yes, you deserve a treat today.” The moment you step in, you’re greeted not just by pastries, but by an atmosphere that hums quietly with intention — polished, deliberate, and effortlessly chic. The gleam of the glass cases, the careful arrangement of mini cakes and macarons, the soft clink of spoons against ceramic teacups — it all feels like a small, delicious theater. Every pastry is a performance. The croissants are flaky, buttery crescendos that yield in layers with a whisper, the macarons are jewel-like, pastel oases of almond and ganache, and the cannelés — oh, the cannelés — they are caramelized, tender little cylinders that somehow manage to be both humble and transcendent. Each bite feels like it’s been choreographed for maximum delight, and you find yourself pausing to savor the artistry before diving in again. If you’re seeking a patisserie that feels both intimate and grand, playful and precise, Nadège is it. Pop in for a single macaron or plan an afternoon around a tiered mini cake indulgence — either way, you’ll leave feeling that the world is a little sweeter, and maybe a little more beautiful, than it was when you walked in.

Nadège Patisserie is a dream! We had a danish and the most incredible lemon tart, both were absolutely delicious. A must-visit for pastry lovers!
Bia L — Google review
The cheesecake tasted really off, almost sour like it was about to go bad. Macarons also tasted old, like they’ve been sitting for days. For more than $40 you’d expect some quality. Wouldn’t even eat this if I got it for free. Used to love this spot. Yikes
Robert A — Google review
The place has maintained very high standards for food. I’ve always loved to drop a visit at Nadége because of their amazing croissants. Surprisingly, today I was told by the hardworking team that the payment policies of Nadége have changed and that they don’t accept cash any further. But as per my request, they did make an exception and I truly appreciated their support. I wish there was a different rating option for staff so I could rate them good. But for the restaurant, I think they’re degrading their customer experience by removing a 100% Legal Tender - Cash in their payment policies. This indirectly shows that they do not value the customers who want to pay through cash instead of debit / credit cards. Some people don’t want the big corporates (Banks) to handle their hardworking money, which is completely fair and sensible. I do also understand that it’s legal for private business owners to make their own payment policies. A big wrong move by Nadége in my opinion. I don’t know what was the idea behind this, but doesn’t seem a good one.

Nestled in the vibrant King West neighborhood, Beast Pizza is a culinary gem that redefines traditional pizza with its inventive approach. This cozy yet polished eatery specializes in unique toppings and whole beast preparations, showcasing local meats in every bite. Their menu features adventurous creations like the Glizzy Quattro pizza, which cleverly incorporates four full-size hot dogs wrapped within the pizza itself. Collaborations with renowned chefs, including those from Michelin-starred establishments, keep their offerings fresh and exciting.
Had a great time here and appreciate the staff for being so friendly and attentive, and the kitchen for serving up some solid food. The dining room is smaller than I expected from the photos with just a few tables in the middle and then some stools up against the bar. It’s cozy, for sure. But didn’t feel like we were being rushed or anything as a table of two taking up a table that could have been for four. Had the beet salad to start, which was great. It was cooked well, seasoned well, and I liked the pistachios and the lemon goat cheese pairing. Also ordered two 12” pizzas which I think was a good amount of food for two people to share. One was their mushroom pizza which had a great mushroom flavour to it. The other pizza was the tongue and bacon. Also really liked that one and the tongue was cooked well without getting tough. I like the pizza dough - not too thin or thick.

We went as a big group and tired 6 different pizzas. My favourite was the pepperoni. It was probably the best pepperoni pizza I’ve tried in a while. The atmosphere was very cute! They also have some very interesting toppings like beef tongue and bacon pizza, definitely a place worth trying! Their dipping sauce is fire too! Hot honey is a must!

4.6 / 5 - great score and great small restaurant. Been both an inside diner and Uber takeout. Pizza - great taste, selection and toppings. Solid crust and flavour. End crust is a touch big. Bone Marrow - with the melted cheese is sensational. Even in takeout. Meatballs - soft, tasty and perfect amount. Salad - with anchovies. Large cuts. Good - might skip next time. Dips- sensational. Get them all!! Rosemary bread - Delicious and better than I could have expected. Cauliflower and cheese was make the favourite. Broccoli was good. Might skip later. Fun inside and great delivery. Both are good options.

Visited Beast on a Thursday evening while my girlfriend and I were in the area. We wanted to try their pesto pizza, which is only on the dine-in menu. We got a great corner booth right next to the kitchen where we were able to watch the kitchen team cooking it up! Vibes and atmosphere in the small restaurant were great, lots of different things, posters, miscellaneous décor that contributed to a fun space. The Lord Pesto pizza came fresh out of the oven and super gooey! They could have held out on the amount of oil on the dough and in the pan, but it was delicious nonetheless. The pesto and the burrata spread on top made it perfectly creamy and added such good texture. We also added smoked chicken as a protein and it was a good match with the other toppings. We gave this pizza an easy 5⭐️ Will be back to try some other pizzas on the menu!! The dough was worth it enough!
Brianna M — Google review
Beast pizza has been on my to try list for a while. I wasn’t blown away by the flavour of the pizza, but I was blown away by how light and fluffy and airy the crust was it literally kind of felt like I was eating a croissant pizza. The pizza south felt heavy. There was lots of cheese. It was very oily. There was something that was missing in the flavor. I can’t pinpoint it. Maybe it was the sauce that was bland, but it wasn’t my favourite pizza. We also ordered the Caesar salad, the broccoli and the beets they were honestly just mediocre. Overall cool environment good place to grab a cocktail And a pizza with some friends

We had their specials of the day, tuna pate app, and pork belly pizza. Their pizza is crispy and thin but maintains a soft chewy crust. Honestly, it was perfect. The tuna pate comes with bread made from the same dough as their pizza. One of my new favourite pizza places in Toronto! Can’t wait to come back!!

O.M.G. Went for their special occasion with the 3 Caribbean inspired pizzas. Beef patty Pizza, Ox tail Pizza, and Jerk Pizza... Who could even decide, so we ordered all three. Where has this been so my life?! All three seemed like they would not work, from the description and the look - especially for those of us coming from Caribbean roots. The first bite of each was crashing our brains, faces and taste buds, and had us rethinking what we though we knew about food flavor x texture mashups. They were all a massive success. The pizzas sold out, so I hope Beast Pizza brings them back sometime, so everyone can have this experience. Rum Punch was nice too, especially the over the top garnishing to elevate the experience of the drink. The staff was super 😎 guys, very attentive, very fast. Even if these Caribbean inspired pies don't return, I will to see what they come up with next. Big up, Beast Pizza!

Old School, located at 800 Dundas St W in Toronto's Little Italy, is a beloved diner known for its all-day breakfast and American comfort foods. The bright blue facade of the street corner location is hard to miss, and the exposed-brick interior adds to its charm. 10/10 brunch spot! It was so good. Glad I got to try so many different things from the menu. Everything tasted so fresh and flavourful! Really happy with the service. All the servers were great and super friendly! My server was super knowledgeable and helpful in giving suggestions. Highly recommend !!

Went to Old School for brunch this morning and overall had a great meal! We ordered the eggs Benedict with peameal bacon, the blueberry pancakes, a biscoff latte, and an Americano. The food was great: the pancakes were fluffy, the eggs Benny was perfectly cooked, and the biscoff latte had just the right amount of flavor without being overly sweet. That said, I was a little disappointed because I’d read so many reviews raving about the blueberry hot sauce and was really looking forward to trying it. I was hoping to ask our server about it, but after he dropped off our food, he never came back to check on us for the rest of the meal, which was a bit of a letdown. Overall though, the food and atmosphere were solid, the place is super cute and I’d definitely come back, if not just to buy one of their mugs, but I’m crossing my fingers for a chance to finally try that blueberry hot sauce next time 🤞

Nice spot, very cool interior! Got the blueberry compote pancakes and the egg avocado croissant sandwich which were both really good! The blueberry compote was delicious, sweet and tart balanced really well. The compound butter on top is a great touch too. The sandwich was flavourful and with the avocado and eggs had a nice texture, like a little creamy. They also had this blueberry hot sauce which sounds weird but I’m obsessed with it. Just enough heat, not overly hot but a little sweetness to it. The biscoff lattes tasted good too, though I think I like a little stronger flavours for coffee. We were seated on the inside which I think was a little louder but nothing crazy. Service was also friendly and attentive!

The atmosphere is stunning, beautiful decor. Service was great, the staff are all so kind. The food was incredible, and don’t get me started with the coffee! Highly recommend this chic spot, 10/10! *the only thing I would suggest/add is a better wait list system; they did first come first serve and some guests with reservations had to wait. A scan/sign in system would make that much smoother!*

4 stars for a good brunch at old school! It was good but not exceptional, hence a solid 4 stars overall. The service was a touch slow at the beginning but otherwise very attentive. We did have a reservation for their patio which they seemed to be scrambling to accommodate. They ended up seating us on the back patio associated with the old school cafe, which was ok but not quite the same vibe as being on the main patio where we had reserved. Food was good and tasty, but again nothing overly exceptional. Portion sizes were good and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. It wouldn’t be at the top of my list for places to go back to, but I did enjoy the meal.

My favourite brunch in Toronto. Their eggs Bennys are all so good, my personal favourite being the pulled beef! Love the variety of Benedict’s they have, something for everyone. Eggs always cooked to perfection, and the hollandaise is delicious. Their blueberry pancakes though, WOW!! I‘ve never really cared for pancakes too much, but this place changed my mind. Literally the best blueberry pancakes I’ve ever had, consistently impressed with this place. Service is friendly, Zack was our waiter and was awesome! Thank you Old School for being a tried & true :) P.S: they have a blueberry hot sauce that is AMAZING, next time you’re there ask to try it

To start, I think that this is a cool spot and my friends liked their food so this is just my experience with what I ordered. The mac and cheese was not good. I added hot sauce to it and it made it a bit better, but the chicken that I added was terrible. It had a weird taste to it and the cheese sauce was bland. On another note, our waiter was extremely rude and unprofessional. We were trying to be as nice as possible because it was busy and I was thinking that maybe he was just overwhelmed, but when asking for simple things like hot sauce, or a drink, he would just abruptly leave the table, come back and put the item down without saying anything. It made our group very uncomfortable and he got visibly annoyed with my friend when she asked for a mimosa and didn’t take his recommendations for alternative drinks. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you order the blueberry pancakes and if you don’t mind servers that make you feel like you’re inconveniencing them.

Café Cancan, located in a whitewashed Queen Anne row house, offers a unique dining experience with its pastel-hued interior and patio. The contemporary French bistro serves classic dishes with a modern twist, such as Fried Duck Eggs and Truffle Scrambled Eggs. While it's known for its buzzworthy brunch menu and Instagram-worthy decor, the restaurant also takes reservations and welcomes walk-ins at the bar.
Delicious, food is great. A bit sad I ate it so fast. Overall great, love the colour palette here. Seating is kinda limited but cozy. Their patio is not a cute as indoor seating during the day. I like their salted duck egg, the slightly more acidity in the mushroom sauce goes really well with the yolk and bread.

There are so many wonderful things about this restaurant. The decor is adorable and for the most part my service is actually been quite good despite what other reviewer’s have claimed. There are also so many unfortunate things about the restaurant. I’ve dined here twice – once for lunch and once for dinner (sat inside the cutest little booth known to man with an adorable bell that says ring for Rosé!!!) Lunch experience was much better - I ordered the burger and fries and it was perfectly cooked and very delicious. I then brought some friends here for dinner one evening and we were mostly underwhelmed. The steak tartare head shaved mushrooms which is bizarre and didn’t actually add any unique flavour, the French onion soup was actually more of a meat soup and had almost no onions or cheese or bread in it whatsoever. It was so disappointing. The gnocchi was delicious but I have to agree with my friends in their assessment that it was very salty and while I did order the burger a second time it arrived undercooked. I had asked for medium and was hoping that it would be pink throughout but it was really bright red throughout indicating it was way more medium rare. So it’s a gorgeous spot to dine but I’m not entirely sure I’d return, even if it is adorable inside.

Went here for Sunday brunch! It’s a small place with patio sitting outside which was nice. It’s very photogenic place. We ordered their latte, chocolate croissants and eggs Benedict. The eggs benny came with watermelon salad on the side. Overall the food was good but we personally thought it was over priced for what we received on the dish. Their coffee was great. I would recommend this place for coffee and Pastry more than their brunch menu. The options are pretty limited! Would go back but just for coffee.

The decor was fantastic! While it was a bit on the feminine side, the attention to deal was absolutely yet incredible. We did the Carte blanche menu and it was soooooo much food. Very reasonably priced for a tasting! the french onion soup with braised brisket was outstanding. all the dishes were amazing. the service was wonderful. It is what dining is about - leaving with a big smile on your face and a surge of happy.

I had a feeling it was one of the good ones and it was great to find that every single interaction and experience at Cancan was gold from start to finish. The staff was kind, fun, engaging and very efficient. While we didn’t have reservations, we were able to snag a spot at the bar (first come, first served). The food was amazing, it all just melted in your mouth with the perfect blend of ingredients and spices... just delicious! It was also a very good portion, paired with a drink it was filling. (I got the greenhouse juice!). Finally, the location and atmosphere of Cancan is refreshing and beautiful. Love everything from the wallpaper to the seat finishes. Just the perfect blend of color. All to say, it’s very Insta-worthy! Tip: Try to get reservations, especially if you are more than 2. Otherwise, try your had at the bar booth.

Randomly dropped by here and I'm so glad I did! I went on a Monday around 1pm so I didn't need a reservation to get a table. First of all, the decor is so freaking cute. Everything is so well designed and thought out. Second, the food and drinks are DELICIOUS! My mom had the burger with fries and I had the mushroom gnocchi. The fries were some of the best we've ever had - perfectly hand cut and so well seasoned. The gnocchi was also so deliciously savoury. I also ordered the peche et fleurs cocktail and it was also very yummy. I'd absolutely go back for lunch - it's a little pricey but you're basically paying for the atmosphere. Also service is really good. Attentive, but not annoying, and very polite. I had a lot of fun.

I went with my sister for a late lunch. I will start with the place itself - just great! The design gives a boutique atmosphere, the arrangement of the tables and the central bar give the feeling of a restaurant in Europe. The waitress was not the kindest person I met, but the wonderful food made up for her cool attitude. A unique experience! Highly recommend.

Thobors Bakery is a local gem known for its excellent macarons and delightful pastries. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by a tantalizing aroma and a vibrant display of treats. The bakery offers a cozy dining area where you can relax while indulging in their delicious pastries and hot beverages. Their menu features an array of delights including fresh baguettes, authentic croissants, and flavorful macarons in unique varieties like apricot-rosemary.
Thobors is an incredible bakery with great service. The atmosphere is very delicate and intimate, since it doesn't have many tables and chairs, but it's perfect for having a coffee, enjoying a croissant and enjoying all the flavor of a delicious sweet treat. The bakery is close to several bus stops, private parking lots and paid parking lots. The salon is really small, but it's possible to enter with walkers and wheelchairs. For those who go with babies, they have high chairs for children. The display window is an incredible environment, always with all the products very well organized and well presented, in addition to having great prices, and being extremely tasty. It's really worth visiting

Upon arriving you feel welcome. Service was the only good thing in my experience today. I got the sausage croissant. Not sure if the sausage was supposed to be raw but it was uncooked and cold, even after warming up the pastry for 3 minutes. I rarely leave food uneaten but couldn't finish it. The plate pick up was at the back of the restaurant, and high on a counter. It was inaccessible to my stroller and I imagine to other mobility devices. I also got a chocolate medallion. It was a very rich treat so it's good that it's small.

Ordered their famous Galette des Rois for pick up. This is a traditional French pastry only available im January! Pick up was quick and easy. Pastry was flakey and balanced sweetness. Especially after warming up. All the pastries are made with French butter!

Excellent French bakery on Mt. pleasant that is a great place to stop for a coffee and pastry. I shared a chocolate and almond croissant with others and ordered a cafe Americano. Everything was fresh and tasted great, and there is a cozy seating area inside. Would highly recommend!

Cute authentic French bakery. The worker was nice to introduce me their baked goods. I got the berry croissant/Danish, apple turnover, and jam beignet. Enjoyed all! They have pastries, bread, quiches, cake, and sandwiches. Happy to come back and try more. Wish they made danishes as those are my fave.

Rahier Patisserie is a charming patisserie located in Leaside, Toronto, offering a delightful selection of delicate French pastries and fruit tarts. The Amelie and Clementine cakes are particularly eye-catching with their vibrant colors and are available in various sizes for both individual indulgence or group gatherings.
One of my favourite patisseries in Toronto. I have been enjoying their delectable pastries, cookies, tarts, and cakes for almost 2 decades now. Quality products with consistency you can rely on. It's a shame I live across the city from them, otherwise I would be there quite often! 😅

I ordered a hot chocolate and was displeased with a couple things 1. They use actual hard pieces of chocolate, which they steam together with the milk. The barista poured the milk into the cup and then plopped the leftover chocolate gunk from the bottom of the steam pitcher, which then they had to mix again in my cup. Leaving me with a chunky drink …yum 2. I didn’t even receive a cup filled all the way . I ordered a large size, and paid over $6. The person a head of me received their drink and had theirs filled to the brim, but my drink was left with about 2 inches of room on top. In the end I’m just disappointed that I paid the amount I did for the quality I received.

Charged for the plaque on my own birthday cake after being told it was free when I ordered it. Definitely not the best customer experience. Response: Since you insist on technicalities, you are correct. You told my father that it was of no charge because he paid ahead of time. Had it been the situation you described, when I came to pick up the cake you wouldn't have insisted that I pay for the plaque. Suffice to say, you have lost our business over $1.95.

Very friendly and cozy patisserie shop that serves a very tasty coffee. The cakes and cookies are die for! Recommend to all!
Anastasiia R — Google review
I had Rahier on my list to visit for some time and had the opportunity recently. I have mixed feelings on the visit. The items were good. The madeleine and cappuccino that I had were tasty but not the premium quality I expected given the reviews on G Maps. The pastry items (as agreed on by my friend) were good. However, the drinks are massively overrated. I would recommend passing on the cappuccino as it tastes flat and less quality than say a Sbucks cappuccino, which are standard comparison points. For a coconut filled pastry and my small cappuccino (small cup half full) I paid 7.56, for comparison. It's competitive for the area but the taste is only okay. I would recommend a visit if in the area but it is not a top selection for either french pastries or coffee drinks.
Zarwah — Google review
Not a big shop but has such fabulous pastries. There is a small patio at front for you to sit and enjoy. The small individual cakes are more costly but good for special occasions. They display so well on the table.

Very good French bakery with legit croissants and pain au chocolat and other French pastries / cakes, just like in France ! You can also have brunch there. And their hot chocolate is really good. The proper kind with real chocolate and milk. They also have amazing gâteau basque, which is rare to find in Toronto. They come in small and large cake size.

heating up the croissants at home before consuming is definitely serving these croissants right! they are so good and crunchy in the right spots, nothing beats a good laminated croissant. i tried out two slices of quiches, and they do not disappoint! so yummy and just the right flavour, not heavy at all, and the crust hold everything together. such a lovely shop, you could really taste the love in the food from the makers.

Sweet and simple setting. Parisienne feel. A fresh baguette of perfect texture with delicious butter and apricot jam hit the spot, accompanied by an excellent coffee. Several classic lunch choices on the menu. I was more in the mood for baked goods. Took away an apricot Danish. Yummy. Not overly sweet. The lady in charge really cares about her customers. Good tasting pastries, but so overpriced and super small. As shown in the picture, the chocolate croissant is literally a mini. Very disappointed in the value for price, as 6 little tarts, 2 croissants and a small brioche loaf (very dry) was $56.00 Unless they drag me back to show me I'm wrong, I wouldn't go back and can't recommend.
Andre B — Google review
My experiences here have been peculiar. I first came in a few months ago and the chocolate and double chocolate croissant were regular size. Now they’ve shrunk considerably. This one pictured is nearly mini size but costs almost $5!! Tastes great but only lasts a few bites, which isn’t worth it. The regular chocolate croissant only has a tiny amount of chocolate in it. The raisin pastries were way too sweet, like it was soaked in sugar rather than glazed. The first time I came in, I was asking if there were any vegetarian sandwiches. The clerk, noticing I was Muslim told me that all the meat was halal, even the ham, which apparently is just processed chicken??? I was very confused… Why would you have a chicken sandwich but label it ham?! I also didn’t see any halal certification posted so it all seemed very dubious. As well, another time I went in to buy a vegetarian quiche. I was given a Parmesan and leek quiche but upon eating it, there was actually smoked salmon in it even though it was labeled as vegetarian… the clerk offered to refund or replace it which was nice. I decided to try the quiche anyways but it turned out to be super salty and I tried offering some to guests but nobody could eat it because of how incredibly salty it was. I’m pretty sad because I live next door and was excited to have a cute French bakery near me but $5 for a 2-bite croissant coupled with confusing claims and inaccurate product descriptions make me hesitant. Would love to see you guys improve and I’d definitely come back, as your workers are very nice and friendly!

Most recent visit was subpar. I think ownership changed last year and the product quality has diminished significantly. Today pastry were dry and over baked. Zanes used to be our go to but now not for the price/quality. We much prefer Mon K even though they open later

First of all I used to come here every single weekend for over a decade as I lived across the street. When the new owners took over I noticed the quality significantly decreased. Today I wanted to surprise my husband for our anniversary and get a small cake. I was told it was a cake and inside was a layer of mango. I was shocked when it came to $46 for a small cake with tax. We just cut it opened both took a bite and it was ALL icing. There was absolutely no cake whatsoever and not even a slice of mango let alone a layer of mango like I was told. It was pure icing for $46. I will never go back nor will I recommend anything from this store. We had our neighbours over for cake and she spit it on on her plate after taking a bite. I said what is wrong she said its ALL icing. We all took a bite and this is when I said I paid $46 for this! No cake and not even a piece of mango let alone a layer. I would give this 0 stars if I could. Do you see a layer of mango or cake in this photo? Unbelievable and extremely disappointed ! The first red flag was signage everywhere stating no refunds! If you stand behind your quality and freshness you would not post multiple signs NO REFUNDS if you were a great bakery. Many business in the area used to actually buy their bread for the restaurants and the pastries now I know why they stopped. I will not recommend them anymore to anyone nor will I ever go back. I am still very upset I spent $46 for icing. I cannot even eat what is left in this photo it is pure sugar. Even my neighbours did not want to take it home it was that bad - its pure sugar and pure icing. No cake and not even a layer of mango or any mango to be seen. I was lied to. I will not recommend this to anyone nor will I ever go back.

Mon K Patisserie is a charming bakery and cafe located in East York, offering a unique fusion of traditional French and Japanese-inspired baked goods and desserts. Run by a husband-and-wife team from Osaka, the patisserie showcases an array of delectable treats that reflect a blend of Japanese and French culinary influences. From classic butter croissants to seasonal matcha Mont Blancs, the pastries are known for their balanced flavors without being overly sweet.
Absolutely the best bakery! Have been coming to Mon K for years and always blown away by how delicious everything is! The croissants (chocolate almond, cinnamon, bechamel and bacon) and danishes (blueberry) are phenomenal! Incredibly flaky, buttery pastry -- delicate and flavourful. We buy their Chestnut buche de Noel every Christmas and it's always a showstopper. Their quiches and ham and cheese baguette sandwiches are super for lunch. They always have a weekly special -- never hesitate to grab one! Highly recommend!!

The prices are reasonable and every pastry I tried was delicious. I went a bit late, so some of the ones I wanted were already sold out. But I picked up almost everything that was left in the display fridge (except the whole cakes), and they were all great. I especially liked that nothing was too sweet. The level of sweetness was just right. Not really a complaint, but if I had to point out something, everything is takeout only, even if you want to dine in. Also, maybe because it’s so popular, many items sell out quickly. I really wanted to try the strawberry yogurt something and the chocolate something cake, but they were already gone. I live a bit far, so I’m not sure when I can go again, but I definitely want to come back for more!

My family recently got some savoury and sweet pastries from this little patisserie and everything was absolutely lovely! For savoury, we got their Croissant Sandwiches including Egg Salad and Ham & Cheese. Both were flaky, delicious, and you could tell were freshly made! For sweet we got a Dark Chocolate Tart and two Matcha Tiramisu cakes, which were all pieces of art. The Matcha Tiramisu was creamy, luscious, light and not overly sweet. They were my favourite of the whole bunch and were absolutely DIVINE! We also got four of their Cream Puffs and one Coffee Chocolate Tart. The Cream Puffs were so fluffy and not overly sweet. The Coffee Chocolate Tart was also fantastic. Their other pastries and danishes are luscious! The staff were helpful and prompt at packing our rather large to-go order! This is a lovely place for pastries, whether you’re craving sweet or savoury!

I’ll admit it — this is definitely one of those Instagram-famous treats, but the moment I saw “Tahiti” on the menu, my heart couldn’t resist. Nord Lyon, located on Queen Street West in Toronto, is a charming French bakery and restaurant that opened its doors in November. Despite the challenging circumstances of the Red Zone restrictions, this spot offers a delightful experience with an array of delectable treats made with high-quality French butter. From freshly baked bread and sandwiches to delicate pastries like eclairs and macarons, there's something for every palate. The establishment also serves top-notch coffee to complement the indulgent offerings.
I’ve been to this place a few times and tried several of their pastries, they’ve all been great. I’ve recommended it to a bunch of friends, and they all liked it too. My favorites are the almond croissant and the pistachio croissant. Just a heads up, the pistachio one is really filled, so skip it if you’re not into that. But overall, the texture, crispiness, and flavor of the pastries are consistently excellent. Plus, the variety and freshness here are hard to find anywhere else in DT Toronto. This time, I finally tried their ayce buffet, and I was seriously impressed. Everything was super fresh and hot. They even have an omelette station, you choose what goes in, and they make it for you on the spot. There’s a solid range of protein options like eggs, bacon, beef, sausages, and even cooked fish. For carbs, they’ve got rice, pasta, French toast, and more. Tons of fresh salads and veggie options too. A few types of their signature croissants were available, though I was hoping for a bit more variety on that front. Coffee, orange juice, and hot water were all included. The staff were super friendly and helpful the whole time. Only downside was when I asked for water, there were no clean glasses available, and I had to wait about 10 minutes to get one. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. Washrooms were very clean too, which is always a plus.

If you are looking for a heavy chocolate-filled almond croissant, with a chill vibe this is the cafe to check out. The coffee was okay not too great as I had better but there are so many options in the bakery. I opted for a chocolate almond croissant as it looked so tempting. It tasted good, especially the filling, which they take seriously. It has approx 10 tables with a variety of sweet and savory options. I enjoyed my rainy-day coffee. Must visit :)

Stopped by Nord Lyon on Queen St West and had a wonderful experience! The presentation was beautiful - from the elegant tray setup to the gold-toned cutlery, everything felt premium. I had the chocolate-covered pastry bar, which was rich, smooth, and incredibly satisfying. The butter cookies with candied fruit were light, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet - a perfect treat with coffee. The staff were especially warm, attentive, and welcoming, which really made the visit stand out. They took time to explain the options and made the whole experience feel special. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to relax and indulge in some high-quality desserts with great service and classy vibes!

FOOD (brunch buffet): good variety for the price. There's selection of salad, omelet made to order, pastries, pancake/crepe, pasta and other breakfast food. Everything is good and you can definitely get full from yummy selection. SERVICE: it's a small place but so crowded during weekend. The staffs are really busy so they might forget stuff. VIBE: it's a pastry shop turned into brunch place during weekend. Small and tight area but super crowded. Other than brunch time there're plenty of spots.

I stepped into Nord Lyon on Queen West with fluttering expectations—after all, I’d heard whispers of buttery croissants that could make your heart sing. My past dalliance with their almond croissant left me… amused, but never enchanted. Today, I was seeking redemption in their famed brunch buffet. Little did I know I was about to be cast as the lead in a culinary tragedy. The first act unfolded at the pastry display: a basket of croissants so sunken and pale they might have been excavated from last week’s leftovers. I bit into one, only to discover the soul‑crushing crunch of cardboard—drier than the Sahara and twice as unforgiving. I cornered a waiter, demanding to know how something “fresh” could taste like a two‑day‑old relic. He smiled apologetically, insisting they’d “just been cut fresh”—a weasel‑worded confession that whatever baking once happened, it certainly didn’t happen today. Act Two brought the buffet’s more theatrical twist: a strict “no waste” rule that threatened a surcharge if plates didn’t emerge spotless. So there I was, gnawing at my lifeless croissant like a condemned man forced to devour his own shroud, all to avoid the sting of an extra charge. Meanwhile, the “pistachio” croissant betrayed me completely—no nutty whisper on the tongue—while the chocolate version offered only a faint echo of ganache, as if the real filling had eloped with better ingredients. Yet every dark hour has its flicker of light: the make‑your‑own omelette station shone like a beacon, and the smoked salmon—a silken slice of brine‑kissed perfection—was a momentary reprieve from this buffet noir. Cakes and tarts lay limp and stale, as though they’d been waiting for a revival that never came, and the crepes collapsed beneath their soggy shame, tasting more like a damp gym towel than a Parisian treat. In a final, bitter curtain call, I glanced around at the cheerful staff, whose warmth felt like a cruel irony against the backdrop of culinary ruin. The décor was elegant, yes—glowing bulbs, polished brass, and potted ferns—but what are pretty surroundings when your taste buds have been betrayed? At CAD 35 a head, with not even a latte to soften the blow, this buffet felt like a heist of my hard‑earned after‑tax dollars. I will never return. Let this be your warning: Nord Lyon’s brunch buffet is a drama of dashed hopes and stale pastries. Don’t let the friendly smiles and gleaming décor fool you—behind the curtain lies a wasteland of cardboard croissants.

I happened to pass by this store by chance and noticed some amazing-looking croissants, so I decided to give them a try. I must say, they were absolutely delicious! The fillings were generous and high-quality too. I think I’ve just found one of my new favorite spots for croissants.

Fleur du Jour is a charming French patisserie located on St. Clair West, founded by the husband-and-wife team Clara McBride and Riane Georges Ikiouane in 2017. The shop exudes an authentic French vibe with its minimal interior design and commitment to quality pastries.
This coffee shop has the best almond croissant! It's perfectly flaky, with delicious almond filling. A great place to relax and enjoy a treat! Will definitely come back to try more of their pastries and coffee!

Love this place and I went every day when I lived next door. The owner is from France and their croissants are the best. Their coffee drinks are lovely as well. This place sells out fast even though they really don’t have much of a selection and that’s why I gave it not a five star and the ambiance is lacking as well.

Smashing IT! ☕🥐☕ My goodness why did I wait so long to try this place out! Hands down, there's no denying the best French Pastries in Toronto! This amazing and unassuming cute little pastry shop is serving up some of the most amazing and the most authentic French pastries and delicious cakes. Everything is made fresh, simple good quality ingredients as it should, and the moment you bite into any of their many pastries your taste buds will be lit up and you're just going to want to jump up for joy! Because you've finally found that bakery that knows a thing or two about baking the proper pastry. The coffee is amazing as well! So if you're in the neighbourhood drop on off to Fleur du Jour and try as many pastries as you can, trust me you will be so deliciously delighted!

This little pastry shop on St Clair is worthy of legend. Every day they open at around the same time, but it varies a little - it’s dependent on the croissants are ready - which varies a little with the weather. They don’t have a close time - they close when they sell out. If you have a bit of time, try the Brietto - it’s a croissant toasted with Brie, prosciutto and a cheesy creamy filling, absolutely delicious! In the morning they offer a wide variety of French pastries - from the classic croissant to sweet delights with berries, pears and other delicious fresh fruit. The only reason they don’t have them in the afternoon is because they sell out by then! In the afternoon they have divine mousse cakes in several flavors - the Rocher and the Cassis Vanilla are incredible. We keep coming back not just for the food - the owner and staff are always welcoming and makes us feel at home! Pricing is reasonable, but payment is cash or debit only (no credit).

If you're looking for authentic (yet unique) French patisserie in an unpretentious setting, this is it. Everything is freshly baked and delicious. The staff is courteous and responsive and the owner/baker is delightful. Stop in for the Brietto (croissant with brie and prosciutto) and a coffee. Bring home some apple, raspberry or mixed fruit tarts. Everything a real treat!

I stopped in for a pastry and iced latte. The coffee was good and the pear pastry was very good if a bit floppy due to the lack of a/c on a hot and humid day. The experience was hurt by the flat to the point of rude staff person. It's as if they are trying to be a poster child for the Gen Z stare. People are who they are, but this shop could improve on customer service and the interior environment and it would get an easy 5 stars from me.
B S — Google review
The croissant was excellent; very fresh and tasty. The coffee was good. There is a bit of seating inside. My only issue is that the coffees aren't priced right. How is a cortado and a macchiato the same price as a cappuccino. $5 is much above market price for these drinks with significantly less milk.
Dave — Google review
It's a hole-in-the-wall type of place with the price point of a posh cafe. Croissant was on point. Unfortunately, that's about it. Worst cappuccino I've had in years. It tasted like something poured from a random gas station overnight pot. Service was lukewarm at best. The atmosphere is like an university co-op.

Goûter is a charming North York patisserie that strikes the perfect balance between large-scale production for wholesale and catering, while maintaining exceptional quality. Their weekend box offers a delightful selection of croissants, kouign-amann, madeleines, danishes, jam and bread. For walk-ins, the kouign-amann is highly recommended. This authentic French patisserie prides itself on its wide array of croissants and danishes baked fresh daily.
Kouign Amman are divine! Also frozen croissants, pain au chocolat, etc to proof overnight and bake at home.

You walk into Goûter and you simply do not know where to look first! Then again, the smells of fresh bread, butter, chocolate pure bliss. I love all the selections of great food. Everything from take out meals and soups to filled croissants, stunning baking and chocolates. I bought a little of everything but always my go to’s are perfect baguettes, a proper croissant filled with ham and bechamel, a fruit danish and of course a tiny cake. Please follow @joannasable on instagram for more food and travel.

In French, "goûter" is the verb for "to taste", and everything I've had so far at Goûter was definitely tasty. The interior smells of the fresh butter they use in their boulangerie, so entrancing! My significant other and I shared their Piña Colada gelato (especially amazing), Banana Chocolate Caramel gelato, Pain au chocolate (très bon!!), Almond croissant (though I think I prefer the filling at Amadeus and Nadege), Kouign-amann (MUST-HAVE, buttery sugary crispy fluffy goodness originating in Brittany, France), Tarte au chocolat (not as rich as I'd hoped), and a super crunchy French baguette (too crunchy for my tastes but I would still repurchase) that we used to make a couple sandwiches at home. There's a market across the road and a No Frills just North at Wilson where you can pick up toppings to make your own delights. The shopkeeper was very polite and definitely has a strong knowledge of French patisserie. She let us sample their new scones - buttery, a bit cheesy, and fluffy, yet with a firm crust, we'll have to get some next time! From what I've seen, they also allow you to pick up frozen Pain au chocolat (and perhaps other items) that you can proof and bake in your own kitchen! I asked about when they usually sell out of their baked goods, and apparently every day is different. If you are worried, you can order in the morning and then pick up your items by the end of the day. They really care not to over-produce so that they don't waste food, and so that their products are always fresh out of the oven. I was really impressed when the shopkeeper said that they make everything themselves, nothing from other stores. Verdict: Definitely one of the best patisseries in the city. We'll definitely be back to try their other products and repurchase our favourites! Looking forward to trying some chocolates, eclairs, and more pastries!

I feel like I'm kind of rounding up here, I would've given this spot a 3.5. The cruffin and kouign-amann were absolutely amazing, but I was so let down by the almond croissant and danish. I pre-ordered ahead of time, but had I seen them beforehand, I likely wouldn't have spent the money. The danish had a hole in the pastry, as if it had stuck to the pan while baking and the bottom had just ripped off (I shared it with my family and everyone was disappointed) - I think grocery store ones are better than this for a fraction of the price! And the croissant was pretty lacklustre, not flaky and full of filling like other croissants. That being said, I think this is a good spot to check out for their famous kouign-amann, which was super tasty and the cruffin was perfectly flaky and loaded with a delicious cream filling!

What a joy to discover this traditional French pâtisserie and bakery right down the street from where I live. After living in Paris for a couple of years and getting used to walking to my local boulangerie, I didn't think that I would ever find this in Toronto. But find it I did, at Goûter that opened up on Bathurst a few months ago. The croissants, pain au chocolat and pain au raisin were perfectly flaky and fresh. By far the "most authentic" that I have found in Toronto (and I have tried a number of French bakeries on Avenue, Yonge, Bayview and Mt. Pleasant in North York). I didn't get a chance to try the baguettes yet (the real litmus test), but I will certainly go back. The confectionery and home-made icecream look delicious, and they have an amazing looking espresso machine that I definitely want to try. All-in-all, a great experience for a newly opened store on Bathurst. I will do my best to help it stay around. -------- OK, I just went back to try the fresh baguette (actually more like a French "tradition" with a harder crunchy crust and a chewy, rather than the soft fluffy inside of a baguette), and it was fantastic. Seriously. I am upping my review to 5 stars. Oh happy day!

Riverside Burgers is a petite counter-serve eatery known for its delicious burgers with a variety of toppings, as well as poutine and salads. The restaurant also offers the famous citywide Quiche Lorraine, made with smoky ham, Swiss cheese, leeks, and a smooth egg custard. The cozy and intimate atmosphere of the place makes it a great spot to enjoy a good burger and fries.
First time trying their burgers. It was their 5th anniversary, the balloons, crowds and the tasty smell attracted me there. The burger was very delicious. The burger was crispy with lettuce onion tomato. I definitely will come back for their burgers. I recommend this burger place if you are in the neighborhood. Congratulations and best wishes to your business!

Riverside Burgers is fantastic! The food is absolutely delicious and you can tell it's made fresh to order. It's cool to see them cooking it right in front of you. The staff are super friendly. We tried the jerk chicken burger and the Riverside burger, and both were amazing. The toppings and meat were perfect, with great proportions, and the buns were so soft. The only minor issue was that it was a bit cold inside. But the walls are signed by previous customers, which gives the place a really cool, local feel.

If you're looking for the best burger in town, look no further! This place absolutely nails it, and their **Riverside Burger** is next-level amazing—especially with the goat cheese. The combination of flavors is just perfect, with the creamy tanginess of the goat cheese complementing the juicy, perfectly cooked patty. Every bite is packed with incredible taste, and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. On top of the great food, the service is just as impressive. Hande is outstanding at her job—friendly, attentive, and always making sure everything is perfect. Her recommendations were spot on, and she made the whole experience even better. I highly recommend this place to any burger lover. You won’t be disappointed!

Great staff and very service. Got the Hot Hawaiian. It was very tasty. The burger was well cooked and not overly seasoned so you could still taste the quality beef. Price is fair. More than fast food prices but much better priced than other burger places. I will go back soon.
Phil J — Google review
First time trying Riverside and we ordered through UberEats. We ordered 3 burgers, 3 fries an onion rings and a poutine. The order arrived with 1 fries almost empty, one half full. The onion rings had about 5 rings (for $8.95) and the burger patty was bland and under seasoned and generally lacked any taste. For an $80+ tip meal this was definitely not worth it. I will not be ordering from here a second time.
Neil H — Google review
Decent burger but far from mind blowing. Patty was under seasoned and the burger as a whole lacked sauce. Despite being the only dine in order, my burger took about 20 minutes to make. I’m sympathetic to order of priority, the workload I might be blind to and online orders but I watched the line cook focus on irrelevant tasks instead of my meal on a few occasions. May have just been an off day!
Simon C — Google review
Hands down the best burger in Toronto! This place is a gem — the burgers are incredibly fresh, the meat quality is top-notch, and the flavor combinations are just perfect. It’s rare for my 3-year-old daughter to finish an entire meal, but she ate it up with zero complaints — that alone says a lot! It’s a super kid-friendly, family-run spot that makes you feel right at home. We’ve tried both dine-in and takeout, and the quality is consistently amazing. Their homemade aioli and spicy sauces by itself show the dedication. If you’re in Toronto and love a great burger — you have to try this place.

Had an amazing meal here! I tried the Riverside burger, poutine, and onion rings, and everything was fantastic. The burger was juicy and flavorful, the poutine had rich gravy and perfectly melty cheese curds, and the onion rings were crispy without being greasy. On top of that, the service was outstanding—Hande, Yusuf, and Yasemin were all super friendly and made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!

Absolutely the best canelé in Toronto! I haven’t had the chance to visit in person yet, but I always order from here through Uber Eats or DoorDash — and it never disappoints!! I really love canelés and have tried them from many different places, and this one is by far the BEST. I’ve also tried their crème brûlée and pistachio ice cream — both are so good. Everything I’ve had from here is high-quality and full of flavor.😋 1000% recommend this place.

I first tried the classic creme brulee on UberEats and had to come back for more flavors. The pistachio creme brulee was amazing, the lavender honey was tasty but a bit too sweet for me, and the Viet coffee was super yummy and flavorful. Definitely a great spot for a creme brulee lover like me!!

I took my mom here to celebrate her birthday today, and what an amazing place! Some of the tastiest and most unique crème brûlée I’ve ever had, all made in house by one of the unbelievably talented, self-taught owners. The cafe is also stunning, with beautiful decorations and plants all over, and the owners are so lovely and kind. My only regret is not trying this place sooner! Can’t recommend it enough!

We ordered the tiramisu and ferrero rocher canales to go. The tiramisu is mon dieu — SO SO GOOD. Every bite had equal bits of ladysfinger, mascarpone cheese and chocolate dusting. I think it’s my favourite tiramisu in the city!! The caneles are really good too. The hazelnut flavours come through, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. We’ll definitely be back to try all the other desserts! edited to add, five days later: we ordered another tiramisu, more ferrero canales and the marshmallow one to try as well! best lunch time treat decision! 🤤🤤

Hands down the BEST croissant I’ve had in Toronto. Crispy on the outside, soft and slightly moist on the inside, with perfect layers and an incredible buttery aroma. The balance of texture and flavor is just chef’s kiss. You can taste the quality and care in every bite. I wasn’t expecting much—but WOW. It blew both me and my husband away. We looked at each other after the first bite and literally went: “Oh. My. God.” Thank you, Mabel’s. I didn’t know how badly I needed a perfect croissant in my life until now.

Great sausage rolls and great chocolate chip oatmeal cookies! Made by hand and the service was lovely, by friendly folks who clearly love what they're doing. You have to pay for premium ingredients and the time it's made with care, so be forewarned it's not cheap, but it's worth it for a treat!

4.66 Stars. Just ate the pretzel bun ($1.49) at home - warmed it up and added Kielbasa and old cheddar with mustard - it was good. Service was great, changed our selection and so lovely about it. Bought a couple vegan items to share with family and they look great. We considered cool drinks but they were a bit pricey. I would recommend going here for sure.
Kim M — Google review
We were walking in the area when we wanted something sweet and saw this bakery. They had a vast collection of items and we ended up going with the brownie. This is one of the most decadent brownies I've had as it had a good, harder texture on the outside and fudgy on the inside which made it so great. We shared one brownie between the two of us and it definitely hit the spot. They also have warm drinks available which I may get the next time I'm here.
Durugshan W — Google review
I was at the bakery recently with a friend, sitting in the back enjoying some empanadas, when things got really uncomfortable. One of the staff members, a woman in a dress who seemed to be in charge… started yelling at another employee. It was loud enough that we both looked at each other, unsure of what was going on. The girl at the front noticed we were clearly uncomfortable and came to the back to quietly close the door. It felt like an attempt to remove us from the yelling, which we appreciated. The whole situation shouldn’t have happened, though. The food was good, but the atmosphere was completely thrown off. Hope the staff get treated better.

Friendly staff and great bread. I especially appreciate that they cut the bread for you. I don't know why but most bakeries in Toronto don't cut the bread. This for me is a great selling point, I don't mind walking a.bit more if they can cut the bread for me.

Prob the best donuts, not a fake review did not receive any free items. Watch out for my 5/5 stars one though 😂
Edwin — Google review
We finally got to try Glory Hole Doughnuts, and overall, it was a pretty good experience. The dough itself was incredibly smooth and soft—clearly made with care and quality ingredients. We especially enjoyed the berry and fruity flavors; they were vibrant, not overly sweet, and had a nice balance that really stood out. However, at $3.95 per donut, we felt the pricing was on the higher side. While the quality is definitely there, it’s hard to fully justify the price, especially when compared to other artisan donut spots in the city. For that reason, I’d give this place 4 stars. The donuts are tasty and worth trying at least once, but it may not be an everyday treat unless you're okay with the premium pricing. Would still recommend it for anyone curious or looking to treat themselves—especially if you enjoy unique or fruit-forward flavors!
Paula R — Google review
Had the opportunity to try a Glory Hole Doughnut. They have been around since 2012 in the East York community. They take pride in their pronounceable ingredients and that everything is hand made. I considered these doughnuts as gourmet doughnuts. The size is huge, and the quality and the price matched it. I had the fudge dip mini. The other one I almost considered was the cinnamon sugar mini. When I’m trying something new, I usually go for the most basic flavour to be able to compare and give a honest review. In overall, the fudge dip mini wasn’t overly sweet. The doughnut is fluffy with a slight chew to it at the end. My coworker, she loves it and finds it dangerously close to her home. Another one, she said it was good too. Me, I’m happy that someone brought it into the office to brighten everyone’s day. The doughnuts were all so pretty. This is not a nuts free bakery.

What did you like about these doughnuts? Close to home. They are made freshed. They are a bit smaller than normal doughnuts I've had for $3.95. The doughnuts were fluffy and soft, and there were a lot of different flavors to choose from. The service was amazing, which made the experience a lot better.

their donuts are to die for! I’ve tried the cinnabun and toast & butter. unfortunately this location is closing at the end of the month :( EDIT: i tried their cinnamon buns that are only served on sundays. absolutely scrumptious!! I’d probably get them several times a week if they were sold everyday. I don’t know their name but the employee that has served me every time is very very kind and a pleasure to speak with. I will be back plenty of times until it closes. apparently there will be a community party for their closing on august 30!

Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Toast and Butter Donut, Ferrero Rocher Donut - I've always underrated donuts, but not after these entered my mouth. So light and airy with an attractive spring back once bitten into, with a delicate fry for a crisp bottom that's not overly oily. The Ferrero Rocher was the star today, dipped in an indulgent Nutella hazelnut icing and sprinkled with crushed hazelnuts to add another layer of texture and nuttiness. Additionally, if you like the rich sweetness of butter tarts, you can have them in a donut form as well. EDIT: Butter Pecan - the donut itself is still top notch. Fluffy, spongy and airy. However, this flavour is too cloyingly sweet for me, but sweet tooths may love this.

Renowned for its exquisite macarons and delightful French pastries, this charming patisserie offers over 18 flavors that are as visually stunning as they are delicious. From the classic passion fruit and chocolate truffle to unique specialties like mojito mint and matcha cream, each treat is crafted to perfection.
Delysèes Bakery is a masterclass in flavor and presentation. The pistachio coffee is unexpectedly exquisite, perfectly crafted with a rich, nuanced taste. Desserts are a flawless balance of texture and aesthetics, each one a work of art. Service is exceptional—Jaren goes above and beyond, setting a new standard of hospitality. The atmosphere, with its French music and stunning ceiling, creates an experience that feels both refined and effortlessly indulgent.

Bought three cakes today and have to say this French Pastry shop tastes so bad. The taste has no relations to the French ones I had in Paris AT ALL. Chose the Opera and another chocolate mousse and thought it won’t go wrong with chocolate always and I was completely wrong. The cakes are very moist and too sweet. I wasn’t able to taste out the texture and flavor of different layers - which should be a minimum requirement of a French dessert. The passion fruit mousse is also so so with very normal butter tart underneath (have to say it taste very similar to the ones I bought at grocery stores). These cakes don’t worth the price at all as well as their qualities - especially they label themselves as Luxury French Pastry Shop.

My friend recommended this patisserie so we went together, and what a treat it was! The storefront itself is beautiful designed with black velvet seating and gold details. The ceiling is adorned with beautiful feathers and decorative plants. The display cases house picturesque tarts, cakes, macrons and sandwiches, all of which are almost too pretty to eat! The man at the counter was super helpful, friendly and bubbly! He gave us some recommendations since we couldn’t decide on which desserts to get. In the end we settled on three different pastries! We got the Frasier (Fresh fruit and Vanilla cake), the Milk Chocolate Tart and the Passionfruit Lemon Tart. They came on beautiful black ceramic plates with gold-plated utensils. All of them were delectable, delicious, moist and melt-in-the-mouth. My favourite of the three was the Frasier, which was so refreshing and delicate. My friend devoured the Milk Chocolate Tart, which was super decadent! I’ll be dreaming of these pastries for a while and can’t wait to come back and try more!

Love this spot for delicious desserts and cakes! Paulina was super nice and helpful and recommended some delicious desserts! I told her I liked pistachio and she gave me some great recommendations and was so sweet. I would highly recommend their pistachio latte and their cakes are so creamy yet light!

My friends and I have only praises for both the food and service at this luxury dessert store. We had two great experiences at the bigger location in Yorkdale, one in March and another one in April. We loved their pistachio coffee and their cappuccino with oat milk , their teas, cake and croissants. Our server Jarren was just amazing that we came back April 12, we were actually looking forward to be served by him and he never disappoint! I also had the opportunity to order online for their luxury cakes and have them picked up by my daughter both at Yorkville and Yorkdale location. True it may ba on the higher price point but that’s what you get if you want high quality products which equates to luxury.

It’s a small, cozy place—perfect for hanging out with friends and enjoying a sweet treat. The croissants were flaky and delicious, and the cake was just the right balance of moist and flavorful. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot to relax and catch up. If you're looking for a great place to satisfy your dessert cravings, this is definitely worth a visit!
Alisha S — Google review
This place has nice decorations and furniture and gorgeous looking desserts. Which are overpriced according to those vibes. But while it delivers on all the esthetics, it fails to actually delivery tasty treats. Out of two desserts, one was nice. But the mango one was not edible. Absolutely disgusting one. For 14 $ before tax it isn't worth it

What an amazing patisserie with mouthwatering cakes. The presentation of them is so beautiful, that you can’t decide which one you wana try out. As I have seen such places in Qatar, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, I have not seen anything comparable here. A little bit on the pricier side, but the taste and quality is so delicious that urs absolutely worth it. It’s a big wow!!

Jack and Lil's Commissary Kitchen is a delightful takeout and catering gem nestled in Corso Italia, where South African flavors come to life. This mother-son venture, inspired by family traditions, offers a unique twist on breakfast and lunch with wholesome sandwiches, grain bowls, and street food that’s perfect for on-the-go dining.
After eating at over 200 breakfast brunch eateries we tend to have expectations. Sometimes it’s feels like we’ve seen it all. This morning’s South African brunch experience pleasantly surprised us. From the cosy communal seating to its decor and obviously its menu, it’s not your usual peak brunch destination. Highlights: Baked eggs with charred onions, goat cheese and matbucha as well a the honey mustard breakfast sausages had us going for seconds! A truly unique #peakbrunch

Found a little gem in the hood, that I didn’t know existed until I saw they sandwich board on St Clair today! Amazing breakfast burrito, great coffee, and a super tasty vegan peanut butter Blondie! Will definitely be back to try some more treats.

A local hidden gem! This place has the absolute best gluten free baked goods I’ve ever had (and some of the best baked goods overall in the area!). The chocolate chip cookie honestly brings joy and their muffins are creative and delicious. Coffee is great, especially the cold brew! Most definitely worth a visit- you won’t stop coming back :)

HOLY F. Over the past two days, thanks to some generous catering, I had the pleasure of eating a Zucchini Muffin, House Yoghurt Parfait, a "Jack in a Box" with 48hr Herbed-Honey-Mustard Grilled Chicken Thighs; Green Beans in Malay Dressing with Golden Raisins, Almonds, Aleppo Pepper; Mixed Greens with Tomato, Shallot, Feta, Pumpkin Seeds, Smokey Kumquat Vin; Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges in House Aioli; AND a Chocolate Chunk Cookie. Everything was perfect!!!! I have never experienced better catering in 15 years of advertising and film. They make simple AMAZING. I'm honestly astonished. If only we could get small places like this into the places where big film caterers have been slacking off for years <3

Unreal. So delicious and fresh. Got the banana tahini muffin, sesame brittle bar and tofu buddha bowl. The muffin was AMAZING, so was the richness of the brittle bar and the fresh perfectly balanced flavours of the buddha bowl topped everything off. Highly recommend

The best Sunday brunch is found here! Try the vegan Banana Tahini muffin w/coffee..👌🏾 The service at Jack & Lil's is excellent and the staff are very friendly! This South African gem was a bit of a challenge to locate. There is a Jack & Lil A-Frame sign near the rear laneway entrance.

I love it! They catered a lunch for us and it was amazing. They came highly recommended by a friend of mine too. Beautiful and as tasty as it looks.

Butter Avenue, with two locations in Toronto, is a must-visit for macaron enthusiasts. Their menu boasts an array of decadent flavors, including unique options like Genmaicha and seasonal varieties such as passionfruit and pumpkin spice. The charming shops offer a delightful selection of baked goods, from strawberry croissants to ham and cheese croissants. Visitors also rave about the delectable cakes and soft serve ice cream available at the uptown location.
What a hidden gem! Adorable gift shop too. The cake was perfect - moist, not too sweet and the right amount of frosting makes for a balanced birthday treat.

I had this at the downtown location a few years ago, but haven’t been going downtown as often since the pandemic started. So happy to find their uptown location ☺️ love their cakes and soft serve!

Ordered 3 slices of cake on a Monday afternoon. It is not the soft cream you normally get .. but buttercream. Not soft and fluffy. The sponge is on the dry side. But I really like their berry and pistachio ones. Very unique and tasty.

Stopped by here yesterday to find some nice baked goods. Lovely little shop inside and picked up some strawberry croissants and ham and cheese croissants. Both were delicious, lovely gem a bit hidden out of the way. Hope to drop in again and try the home made soft serve ice cream they offer!
