Basement Bar delivers a hybrid bar / house party / nightclub experience the likes of which is uncommon to the Yangon nightlife scene. As the name suggests 'Basement' is located 1 floor below its ground entrance. Coming in from the street entrance the walk past a small corridor and into the bar below is an exciting experience in and of itself. I went on a Saturday night and there was a DJ playing. The bar was pretty busy but started to kick off from about 10:00pm. On another Saturday night there was a live band playing mostly Burmese songs. Basement has a distinctive 'H' design where the DJ was in the right side and patrons were in the left side room. I feel that the bar could make more use of its space and perhaps include high stools and/or tables in the DJ room as it was open and unused space making the other room packed. Also, I feel that some bar stools at the bar would be a welcome addition since there were none there, and, at 10:00 pm on a Saturday night seats are much needed. In the absence of bar stools, lone patrons really have no option on where to sit as the seats and tables generally cater to group arrangements. I ordered a Myanmar beer for MMK1,500. This was served in a plastic cup. I feel that the plastic cups take away from the bar experience and glasses would have been better. The bar has only one toilet, given the amount of patrons, more toilets would be welcomed All in all, I believe that if and when licensing restrictions on opening hours are relaxed, the Yangon nightlife culture expands and if a few improvements (such as those mentioned above) are made, then Basement Bar will surely offer a top class underground bar/nightclub experience.

Not expensive, reasonable cocktails from 4000 kyats, nice vibe and chatter. Friendly service too. Please, please, please: stop the smoke! We had to leave, it was just too smokey to stay for more than 15 minutes. If that's the local culture, then so be it, but for the sake of the health of your visitors, please install extractor fans or stop smoking in a confined space. It's not good for your employees health who work in this environment all day and night.

You never forget a first. It was our first beer in Myanmar after a 36 hour trip. Came down and realised we hit the jackpot. Because if anything says Good night with a capital g, it's a nice environment, nice smiling hosts some nice bites and a tall pitcher of cool brew. Came there twice more and always left in a good mood.

Underground bar - low ceiling, dark, smoky and very loud bands. Have to be the special kind of people looking for such places in order to enjoy it fully. Live music over weekends, usually local rock band. Beer in plastic cups or bottles, cash only

Very nice place to hang out with friends. Luckily we ended up with live band and we got great time. Price is very reasonable and foods are also above the average. Definitely we will go back there when we get a chance.

This place was pretty terrible. Music was waaaay too loud, and not that great tbh. The service was also kind of trash—asked three times to get the bill before we finally had to go to the front to force our money upon them (so that we could escape and save our ears from bleeding as quickly as possible).

This place is actually really badass. Great night club vibe with a great DJ. If not for the 11pm curfew I could see this becoming one of the pioneering bars in the Yangon night scene. Westerners welcome.

I was only able to take few photos as we were both melting and the tile floor can get very hot, I was walking like a kangaroo on barefoot. No footwear allowed upon entering. The place is huge and very impressive. The ticket is 25000 and you have to pay in cash and ATM is only inside(!), so you can’t get inside unless you have cash. Girls who give tickets won’t let me in, I was lucky a guide helped me P.S. the ticket says that the price is 10000, so not about legitimacy of their posters

Very nice experience to go here in the evening. Last time I went in the daytime so it was another kind of experience. In brief, very nice and beautiful. Very big place so you should spare at least 1 hour to be here.

Too loud music, crowded and frankly not worth it, if you are looking for a nice night out (that is, without house music and strobe lights). On the other side, one looking for professional escort will definitely find something here. Just be careful. Should be safe inside, it is full of security

You can have specific cocktails here, a bit expensive though. Please dun try Phat Thai here. Seems like they dun know what it is and it is just like normal fried noodle except bean sprouts included. Food is very normal and nothing special. Portion is very little compared to price. Snail soup is only one thing which makes me feel delicious. Drinks are also expensive. But staffs’ service is good luckily. But you can see very beautiful sunset here.

My first time visiting this lounge. The customer service and hospitality of the waitress are on some level. I enjoyed their service and clever explanation to menus. Or maybe because we are the celeb table? The decorations are good also the retractable roof. We often ask them to roll back and roll forward, because when there is rain and when it's not rain it's getting hot. And they carefully served as we wished for. The drinks, the cocktails are really great. Aslo the price is high. Menus prices are spicy. Got some more money before you come! Whatever, for sometimes happiness, let's make it worth it. The sound system and the music is a little weird to me. The volume is not stable. Sometimes it get too low, sometimes it's getting higher. I recommend the playlist also need to be active and popular or club music. Sad thing is I don't remember what I drink that night. Over all the food, drink and service is great.

Bit of a crazy place to shop but has a bit of everything from a supermarket and mobile phones to absolutely everything in between. Don't decide what to eat till you have been to the top floor. Back to Myanmar Plaza after two years, more shops and restaurants, still looking new and clean. Still the cursory glance in To any bags after you've walked through the security arch the each entrance.

The most convenience place for family as many fashion shops, furnitures and the large electronic device showrooms and sales, Spa.& beauty centre, many foods stalls and famous restaurants, many rooftop bars and restaurant at 5th floor, Kids playground but no movie therrater in it. It is 4 storey shopping centre.

It’s a nice place, rather quiet on weekdays but if they have events then it’d be really lit. So if you’re a fan of techno, go for their event specific nights otherwise you might be disappointed. Shisha is good, service is good, food is good. There’s other foreigners there so you won’t feel too out of place here. Liberal place. Stay safe !

This bar is located at Khantharyar center. Inside it's noisy, but outside you can relax while looking at Kandawgyi lake. Beer and food is not too expensive.

It has the best sound and light system. International standards. Excellent collection of songs and DJ knows how to make the crowd crazy. By far the best club in town. Crowd starts coming after 11pm. Been there on Thursday night not many people but still half of the club were occupied. Entrance fee a bit expensive, it comes with one drink you can choose soft drink or alcohol. DJ was good at mixing songs. I believe it will be very happening during weekend.

Staff turn out to be super friendly and helpful. Reason it took so long to serve the drink is because my drink was actually the Godzilla of deinks.

entrance around 10-12 usd. for this price you get a small beer in can. which is not the worst... problem is that you can sit only in the far bar for this price but you are not allowed to take a table (they font tell you that before) so when someone else comes - the waiter comes and in a non polite way asks you to leave the table. for those who likes terrible noisy places with a bad service - walla, you are wellcome.

Went with a friend and availed of the Jaeger set at MMK80,000. The music was a good audio-visual experience and had several DJs playing different sets over the course of the night. The staff were attentive and the club itself has a great charm to it. An ideal place to go to end the night, probably after having a few starter drinks at nearby bars such as Harry's, After 8 or Eclipse.

Cele Bar may be small, but it's full with charm. It's become our go-to spot for relaxation, thanks to its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Despite its size, it never fails to make us feel welcome. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
