Restaurant was fully booked but they let us order dishes from the tasting menu at the bar. A beautiful place to "snack" before our dinner. Everything was beautifully done, made us wish we got res to try the full tasting experience but this was pretty exceptional on its own. Every staff was super knowledgeable and attentive! Got to meet chef Christopher as well, what a cool dude!

4 months later I’m leaving a review because of how memorable Lysverket was and how much I appreciate the staff and food. I severely injured a birth defected ankle hiking Trolltunga at Norway and their food made me temporarily take my mind off the pain. Our last night at Norway before returning back to United States, my partner and I decided to visit Lysverket. We had no expectations - we were just looking to do something special before our departure on a whim. Majority of the trip, I was barely able to walk around with severe pain using a rental car to minimize activity on my foot. I been to other Michelin Star restaurants, but the food at Lysverket absolutely blew the other restaurants food by a long shot. My partner and I were childishly licking our plates of food trying to ensure no one saw us just going absolutely ham on their food. While tasting their food, I was able to forget about the pain and those few minutes I was able to forget about the pain really meant everything. Four months later and my ankle is just now healing and oddly I still think about this restaraunt and the experience there. The staff were really down to earth, attentive and really took the time to talk to us and listen. They were just really chill people with immense talent. I met the chef, his cooks and staff. What ended up being a spontaneous decision on a whim to make the last night special, ended up being one of the most memorable days of vacation I’ve ever had. I left a generous tip because I appreciated them so much, but weeks later I kept looking for their bill and they never charged me. I don’t know why, maybe it’s because I was limping around and because I messed my ankle up on vacation at Norway. But I wanted to say to the people who were working that day and we met - thank you so much.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the chefs, setting a relaxed and inviting tone for the evening. Dining in the chef’s table private room added a special touch, allowing for enjoyable conversations that made the experience feel personal and engaging. The tuna belly was an absolute standout- rich, delicate, and perfectly prepared. One of the highlights of the evening was learning about how they thoughtfully source their ingredients; the chefs were passionate and transparent, which added depth to the experience. While not every course hit the same high note, the warmth of the service and the genuine enthusiasm from the kitchen more than made up for it. An experience that felt both intimate and thoughtfully executed.

We had a truly wonderful dinner—the food was incredibly creative. The overall flavor profile leaned toward the sour side, but each dish had elements that either contrasted with or complemented it in really surprising and delightful ways. The only thing that felt a bit off was one of the male servers. He seemed like he might be having a rough day—he avoided eye contact and rushed through the dish explanations. We wouldn’t call it rude, but it did make us feel a bit uneasy. That said, the rest of the staff, especially the girls, were absolutely lovely. You could really feel their warmth and passion for the food in the way they presented each dish.

We came to Lysverket with great anticipation. It was my birthday, and as passionate food lovers, we were hoping for a truly special evening. Sadly, the experience fell far short of expectations, both in terms of food and service. We had made the reservation for our family, including our two young daughters. During the booking process, we specifically asked if the restaurant could accommodate children, and were assured that a menu could be adapted for them. However, while the adults were served their fourth course, our children still hadn’t received their first, a complete disregard that left us disappointed and confused. In any fine dining setting, such a lack of attention to all guests, especially children, is hard to justify. The service overall felt cold and unengaged. Our main waiter came across as indifferent, even slightly arrogant, with no real interest in making us feel welcome. The first course we were served was surprisingly poor, and unfortunately set the tone for the rest of the evening. Even the better dishes that followed were forgettable, lacking finesse, identity, or any memorable flavor profile. We did not opt for the wine pairing, but we did ask for a recommendation for the best glass of red wine by the glass, what we were served was uninspiring and did nothing to elevate the meal. The atmosphere was equally disappointing. The music was loud and intrusive, completely out of place for the type of experience Lysverket seems to be aiming for. Even the restroom was unkempt, with music blaring to the point of discomfort. In the end, what should have been a joyful birthday dinner became a disappointing memory. We genuinely wanted to love Lysverket — and gave it every chance to impress — but left feeling that the restaurant is relying too heavily on its reputation without delivering the experience to match.

The fish soup changed our lives. Thank you to Alison and company for giving us such a beautiful experience. The kitchen was very helpful with questions I had. We felt very taken care of and enjoyed our night thoroughly. ❤️

The team at Lysverket knocked it out of the park. All I will say about our meal is that I have zero criticisms and thousands of compliments. Most of all, I loved this restaurant because the humans acted like humans. No pomp or pretense. Just pure good vibes—from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. It’s the kind of thing you get when good people work incredibly hard and do it for all the right reasons. Thank you, team Lysverket, for helping to make this guest’s 30th birthday his best one yet. ❤️

Just besides of the famous local fish market and we enjoyed the creamy fish soup there at Bjerck! The staff are all warm hearted, the atmosphere there is quiet and comfortable.

We had a table right in front of the window. The view is amazing. I had the vegetarian version of the Classic brunch board and my boyfriend had The "Bergenser" brunch board. We both really liked it. The price is reasonable by Norwegian standards.

I got the 3 course menu, the starter was saltier than I’d like and the dessert was ‘t anything special, but the main was incredible! We got a table right next to the window so we had an excellent view of Bergen which was very pleasant.

We are a little conflicted about what to write down in the review. There were some great things. My halibut was super tasty. My sisters cod was not warm, and the vegetables were cold and hard. Pitifully, we did attempt to flag down a waiter, but he didn't do anything about it. The dessert didn't match the description. Service was slow. Expensive.

If you’re looking for a lunch spot with a view in Bergen, Bjerck delivers on location—but not on value or pace. The food was fine, but the service dragged and the prices felt inflated. My partner and I came in for lunch and ordered the chicken Caesar. It was decent—nothing standout, but fresh and well-prepared. The issue was timing. Service moved slowly, and our server seemed stretched thin. It looked like they were handling too many tables at once, which made it hard to flag someone down when we needed anything. The wine pours were small, and each one cost more than $16 USD. My salad ran about $28. At those prices, you’d expect a more polished experience or something memorable. This wasn’t that. It felt more like a view-premium than a food or service one. To be clear—nothing was terrible. But for a quick lunch, this felt too slow and too expensive. If you’re short on time or watching your budget, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Had a corner table with the view towards Torget and Fløyen. We where 7 people that had a range of dinners and everyone where pleased with the food and service. Personally I shared the Kveitekotelett with on other. That in itself was a bit too much cooked and lacking salt to my tast (no salt on the tables) so just a bit underwhelming. On the other hand I had their Tiramisu as dessert and it was perfect, higher than my expectations, coming from someone that always chooses it when available. I will come back, but go for a more secure choice for main course. Call / order ahead for a window table.

Pingvinen Restaurant is cozy and authentic with amazing Norwegian comfort food. The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Great spot to try local dishes and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere—highly recommended!

Amazing restaurant in the heart of Bergen. Fantastic local food, very fresh and tasty. Good selection of beers and wines, very fair prices for the size of the portions. Small and cozy, best to reserve a table before you go there! Absolutely recommend hitting this spot while in Bergen, memorable!

Would definitely recommend visiting while in Bergen, for delicious authentic Norwegian cuisine. Friendly team, cosy atmosphere, relaxed and enjoyable evening. I would recommend booking as it isn't a big venue, it is busy and seemed very popular.

The mead was superb there are three types I recommend having one of each - you maybe tipsy leaving but happy The reindeer steak was amazing, the combination of flavors were complex and well balanced. The meat was cooked to perfection and not a step more. The desert were both enjoyable

Traditional Norwegian food, with great local beers on offer too. I had the mushroom casserole as it was the only vegetarian option - nice earthy savoury flavours. The brown cheese mousse for dessert was fantastic! Everything came quickly and the service was fast - a bit too fast for me, especially given the high price, I would have liked to slow down and savour this a bit more. The restaurant is popular and very busy, but has a lively atmosphere. A tiny bit underwhelming for the price, but probably more exciting if you're a meat-eater

This was amazing food. Traditional Norwegian dishes with what felt like a modern feel. Every morsel was tasty. My husband and son had the meatballs. I had the fish pie. Very tasty. Great atmosphere in the restaurant. Casual and comfortable. Staff were friendly and entertaining ☺️ I would agree with other reviews. The value of this food for the quality was better than other restaurants we saw around.

Great value for the price. The whale steak was amazing, the lamb stew incredibly tasty. The fish soup was nice but nothing special. Everything was beautifully presented, especially the reindeer cured meat. Really pleasant service. Would come back!

Was a bit hesitant to book a reservation because I had seen so many mixed reviews, but I am SO glad I did! I booked a lunch reservation for 5, and to my surprise, there was only one other couple that had joined us for our experience. The boat ride in itself was an experience, but when we got there, we were absolutely blown away. When you get there, you are warmly greeted by the staff. Our server was an amazing girl named Paula (spell-check), who made sure we were happy during our entire time there. The owner introduced himself to us and told us to explore the property, which had breathtaking views. The food itself was amazing. Since we did the lunch, we had a sharing experience. First they brought bread, which would’ve been sufficient enough in itself, it was delicious! Our next course was a fish soup. Then, they brought out the cold tower, and everything on it tasted so fresh and delicious. It was more than enough for our party of 5. We had no idea we would also be getting mussels still before dessert, and honestly couldn’t even finish everything because there was so much food. By the time we got our dessert we were absolutely stuffed, but it was amazing! While we were there, we got to see the owner diving for sea urchins that they would be serving. Once he got back, he even let all of us try some fresh sea urchin that he had just caught. If we had booked a dinner experience (owner said that they were expecting 200 people for dinner on the day that we went), I don’t think that we would have gotten the same personal and intimate experience that we got for our lunch. Overall such a great experience that I would recommend to anyone that visits Bergen.

We arrived with our own boat without a reservation. Lucky us, we had a very welcoming arrival and everyone made an effort to squeeze us in. The five course tasting menu was a real treat. We had a tour of the impressive wine cellar and the enormous selection made it very easy to find our match for the evening. The whole team was very friendly and knowledgeable. Everything but the food was close to perfect. Understand that most things in Oslo is $$$. However, the bill to end the night would have been much better if the food matched the price. They use ingredients that is local to the region, but the portion was simply not big enough. They needed maybe, 2 more courses, for you to leave filled and satisfied. We had to find another place to eat after getting back to Oslo. Overall, the cook and flavour of the food was good but not amazing. Food aside, everything was an amazing experience. The location of the restaurant is simply stunning, the boat ride to the restaurant was peaceful, and the front of house team was attentive and friendly. Overall, we'd recommend the experience to friends but with a caveat of the food that's served.

The experience here is so wonderful. The food was absolutely amazing and our waiter Marian was the nicest most exuberant guy! He loved the sea and told us lots of places to go and facts about the food. He made the experience all the better for it. I would 10/10 recommend this restaurant, it is well worth it and will be a memory my husband and I look back on fondly for a long time.

Lovely food, and amazing service. The setting is absolutely stunning and they put you at ease very quickly. Staff are superb and the owner was very charismatic. Only thing that I would say was a downside was whale being served but this is a personal preference. Highly recommend if you love seafood

Don’t listen to the bad reviews. Yes, it’s expensive, yes, it takes time, and yes it’s an amazing experience! The wine cellar is unheard off. They have the most exquisite and exclusive wines seen in a restaurant! That was so unique! The owner and his wife joined us on our table which made it all so communal. We came by boat and stayed overnight. All in all - a wonderful stay. The food was really good. I couldn’t believe that they provided me with a gluten free and lactose and dairy free menu on short notice. I still can’t believe I didn’t take a photo of my favourite dish. The halibut! I’m still licking my lips thinking about it.

I was glad that we chose this restaurant for the last dinner of Norway. I only wanted to eat seafood in Norway, and I would like to finish our last dinner with seafood. We made the right choice. It’s a nice seafood restaurant with the Bryggen view. We ordered mussels, shellfish soup, grilled flounder & brown cheese dessert, and all tasted great. Shellfish soup is little salty & thick for us, but it was still good. Service was also great. Only thing, 3 male adult guests on the next table watching the video on their phone pretty loud. (Again, no kids only adults were at the table) I was very annoyed with it since I don’t come from that type of culture. If it’s family restaurant or fast food, I might not care so much, but I didn’t expect this type of customers’ behavior at these restaurants. Any servers, hostess/host didn’t tell them anything. I guess that is acceptable in Norway. Or I should have told our server. Other than that experience, we had a good time.

First time came in 2018 with family, it was lovely, fresh, delicious with wonderful staff. We love wild salmon that time! I came back again 3 times in 2024 and this year. Still my favorite places, fresh torsk (Cod) is always delicious but catch-of-the day is my favorite, seasonal and local. Tried their Wagyu too but it was just okay. Seafood is better, lovely staff with beautiful view of Bryggen as always. (recommended to book your table in advance) 🩵

Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing! The mussels were incredible! The smoked whale was also tasty. Had the fish and chips and was top notch! Awesome experience

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the Fjellskal Seafood Restaurant in Bergen, Norway. This restaurant, located right on the marina in Bergen, offers a stylish setting with large glass windows and a covered heated terrace that lets you enjoy the view of the harbor up close. The welcome was very professional, and the whole place feels a step above many of the more casual spots nearby. We tried whale steak – quite an interesting experience, with a flavor somewhat reminiscent of horse meat – as well as fish soup and crayfish. Everything was well prepared, quickly served, and reasonably priced considering the quality and the location. The overall atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, making it a great choice if you are looking for something more refined than the lively fish market restaurants nearby. I would especially recommend it to those who appreciate comfort, attentive service, and regional specialties in a beautiful setting.

We had lunch here today, everything was very delicious. The creme brule was also excellently prepared, with real vanilla. Quality ingredients, fast and friendly service. All the staff were very nice, especially the Greek lady and a young man. They answered all our questions patiently. I can't judge how expensive the place is in local terms (?). A big advantage is that you can book a table online.

Although Good way cooked, some dishes not deserved the price. Such as mussels and shrimp which are very very small type you will not enjoy. Only king crab nice but also price very high compared to average i. Same area

Located at heart of Bergen, surrounded in the water, service is great and food is amazing, the price is on higher side because most eatery is for tourist.

The Norwegian fish soup is excellent period I wish I had ordered that for the main meal rather than just the appetizer . The mussels in coconut milk were good but paled compared to the fish soup. They also serve a selection of cold beer brewed in Bergen .

Quite a small restaurant so you will have to squeeze in if it is busy. Very reasonably priced and tasty food. If you are looking for something a bit more casual this place has got you. The chips could have done with some improvements since they are served with almost every main. And sometimes we were forgotten about on the window seat but we still enjoyed our visit.

Food is delicious but WARNING you can’t bring this food back to the States. Despite what vendors will tell you US Customs won’t allow you to bring meat, even if it’s dried, back through customs. Fish is generally acceptable but not sure how they feel about whale If you are just sitting down for meal, great choice.

Not really that impressive compared with many fish markets throughout Europe, such as that of Cadiz’s. The price is also quite high, if you really want to buy something, actually you could just walk down the harbor to some fisk shop the locals will frequent, you could expect the price to drop 1/5 to 1/4 depending on the items (such as caviars or salmon tins). But since the market is conveniently located at the heart of the harbor, a leisure walk here is nontheless a no brainer itinerary.

Very strange that this location is placed together with the larger fish market with multiple stalls across the street. This place is in the middle of various stores and does not look like a restaurant but you'd be wrong. The best Bergen fish soup I've had and I've had 1. Maybe there are other better ones next street, next district or whatever but this was superb. Incredibly cheap as well. The mussel dish was top notch also. This picture is how I'll remember it, and if I end up in Bergen again, I know what I'll have and where

Opt for traditional fish soup! Mega tasty and especially if you go for it in cold times mega warming (tip: add pepper it makes the taste so much better)

Very interesting place to walk around, smell and try local food. Everything is very fresh and many places offer free samples. You at least gotta try it! I don't think I would try to carry any food back to the US, perhaps have them ship it if you really want it. I found the tubes of caviar interesting.

Excellent location and the food was lovely. Went around lunchtime and was surprisingly quiet so got a seat really easy. Fish soup was very good but certainly not the best in Bergen we have had. Mussels on the other hand were excellent and the white wine sauce was lovely.

We went for dinner and although we had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table it was certainly worth it. We had oven baked hake and fish and chips - both meals were generous serves and full of flavour. We had the Albariño to drink as we both had fish. The eating pods have a nice view over the Harbour. Staff were very friendly and checked in during the meal. Highly recommend eating here if in Bergen

Love the fish soup but a bit disappointed with the salmon combos, and the seafood plate. Sashimi were far too thin and I think it's a bit over priced. The staff served us was very friendly and told us some local history.

Fantastic fish restaurant in a great location right on the fish market with wonderful views of the harbour. Very reasonably priced food for Bergen and fantastic quality. The menu choice was really good too. The fish soup starter is amazing! And listen to the recommendations of what the best fish of the day is. I was recommended halibut and it was delicious! Our waiter, Sjanija, was superb. So friendly and helpful! (If he’s reading this, I’ll just say Presidente!!). It was such a wonderful experience that we returned another day for lunch when my husband enjoyed an amazing dish of sushi! Would highly recommend - one of the best fish meals that we’ve had!

We dined here on a Friday night. We found this place to be over rated. Good food but not exceptional; what makes it unique is its location by the Fish Market. My cocktail, Monster Margarita, was actually very good, refreshing. For starter I selected the Lobster Bisque; good flavor, with lots of pieces of lobster; and Sea Scallops with Caviar, good choice. My main course, Seafood Salad, was good but not delicious. Perhaps next time I would try the Sushi.

Dropped in for an early dinner and the place was quite busy but by far tolerable. We had the whale steak and reindeer and both of them were extremely delicious. Also notable that you have a very good view from the window if you are sitting close enough.

My second visit to Fish Me was as good as the first. We had a large group and the staff was accommodating and attentive. The menu was a cornucopia of seafood choices and preps. The presentation of the food was creative and appropriate. My only complaint is price. A little high on cost, but reputation and quality are hard to argue with. When in Bergen stop by for a wonderful meal on the water. It is an easy stroll from any hotel in Bryggen area.

Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We were promptly seated and given menus. There was three of us and we ordered the standard set meal for 3 persons, we should have ordered for 2 as the food portions were large. There were 3 types of bread and generous portion of salted creamed butter, followed by steamed mussels, bone marrow, yogurt bread and pea hummus, ox cheek on bed of potatoes. We managed to finished it all however need a long walk after. Not cheap at about 750NOK per person but the quality of food and friendliness of staff justify the cost.

We had a nice experience. The ambiance was casual but warm, offering a comfortable atmosphere for our meal. The service was also good, with attentive and friendly staff throughout our visit. A real highlight was the freshness of the food ingredients (we had herring, mussels, fish of the day, and beef tartar); you could tell they prioritized quality. In terms of Norwegian cuisine, this restaurant certainly delivered a decent food experience. We've noticed that Norwegian food, in general, tends to be quite simplistic in its seasoning, often leaning heavily on fat and salt with less emphasis on sweet or sour notes. While this aligns with the traditional style, it's something to keep in mind if you prefer more complex flavor profiles. However, within that context, the dishes here were well-prepared and enjoyable. At the same time, we've had better Norwegian food at a lower price point. I will say the highlight was the sour cream with the herring.

We came not on fully empty stomachs so just got small plates. Wish we had room to do the set menu. The ox cheek was great and tender, as was the fish of the day. Looking around at other tables proved some unique dishes I would have liked to try.

We spent our last night in Norway and wanted a special farewell meal. We have had amazing food across our 2 week trip in Norway. We had huge expectations for this restaurant especially since we made reservations well in advance but we had poor service were asked to move tables, my husband and son had the seafood tasting for two. Their food was good I ordered the beef and also fries as I am gluten-free which I said when I booked. The fries and beef came at the same time after I asked them to bring fries first with my son and husbands courses. The beef was cold, the meat was pre cut and dry and very tough. I then waited 25 minutes for cod, peas and potatoes the sauce was watery and salty. I had the same dish the night before for half the price and much more flavor. So disappointing for our last night.

I had the braised Ox and mussels. Both were really delicious; OX was melting away with just the spoon. Services was quick and efficient. Restaurant is elegant and modern.

What an absolutely amazing place, great Norwegian food, my wife can be a fussy eater but had no problem finding something to eat. Me on the other hand, I should have starved myself, there were so many amazing dishes. I particularly loved the braised Ox cheeks, they were worth Michelin Stars. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I’ve eaten here many times — the burger has always been good and the atmosphere is amazing. Probably one of the best burger I had tasted in Norway. I even introduced it to my entire family. But the service we experienced yesterday was probably the worst I’ve ever encountered. The female staff member didn’t even look at us when we walked in. Was it because we’re Asian and didn’t fit the “vibe”? 😅 My husband had to go to the counter to order, while she personally went to the next table to explain the menu and take their order directly. When my husband politely asked a question but didn’t hear her response clearly, she let out a loud, annoyed sigh. After we finished our food, she didn’t check in or ask how the meal was — yet she went straight to the next table to do exactly that. I’m honestly wondering… was this just bad service or something more? Is this what discrimination looks like?

A nice burger place! We went with some friends and the service and atmosphere were very nice. The burgers were pretty good if a bit expensive for my standards, but overall a good place to visit for a little gathering and a chill experience.

Good burger. Horrible service, took 10 minutes to have anyone take our order, even though the restaurant was empty. It was a very hot day and it was unbearably hot inside as well. They have the food to be great, but are not.

I went here with high expectations. This was supposed to be the best burger in Bergen. Well, I ordered the "Fyllaburger". The potatoes were good, but the burger was way too compact and tasteless. It says on their website that this isn't a fast food place, and the hamburgers are made from scratch. If that's true, the chef should be ashamed. My conclusion is that everything was good except the meat, which is the most important part of a burger.

Great burgers and brew. We headed off the main tourist streets and found Inside Rock Cafe. They have a nice menu of burgers and other finger foods. Best burgers we have had in Scandinavia. They were cooked well and the sauces were tasty. They advertise some burgers as hot and they had a nice little kick.

Very tasty burgers but only Chicken . Veg burger was not at all recommended. And also we tried super tasty and spicy nuggets. Must try though they are super spicy with all hot sauces. Just given 4 stars bcoz they really need to improve ambience and veg burger.

Excellent foos and service. We wanted a window table and our server graciously informed us that we would be moved as soon as a window table becomes available. And sure enough, in about 10 minutes we were at a nice window table (away from server and kitchen traffic). The ambiance is not as elegant as it should be considering the prices. There are nicer environments such as Cherie. Pricy but recommended.

What a gem! The service was great, the servers knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. Lovely interiors with relaxed yet classy atmosphere. The food was really excellent, we were very impressed! The cod had incredible flavour, the pea purée and cabbage complimented the fish perfectly and the lamb was hearty and cooked to perfection. The chocolate pot with raspberry sorbet also, we could not fault. Good wine and delicious cocktail selection too, non-alcoholic wine options are also available. My only suggestion would be to upgrade the paper menu’s to something more fitting to this beautiful place. I would definitely recommend this spot and I hope to be back.

We had an excellent dining experience at this restaurant. We tried the tartar, tenderloin, and French cake—all dishes were fabulous. The waiters were also very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place for a delightful meal.

Relaxed atmosphere. I had venison, my wife had monkfish, both were excellent and good portions. Served by Leina who could not have been more considerate or friendly - made the meal experience just perfect.

Good experience. Has a fish I have never seen on the menu other places. If you are eating here at a Thursday, try the dish of the day!

Very pleasant and energetic service. Cool open kitchen concept. Lovely food, they definitely deserve a higher rating! Food came out quickly, though we were a little confused that the bread, starters, and mains were all served at the same time. Perhaps it would be better to discuss this scheduling with the customer. Fish soup - Average. Crunchy leek rings Scallops - Average. Not my taste, though it’s a very unique approach with the cream and strawberries Lamb - Excellent. Generous portion Cod - Excellent. Generous portion. The cabbage was wonderful too Caramelized nectarine with granola and yoghurt dessert - Nectarine was nice, though I didnt like the granola and yoghurt

We had a great experience at Bien Basar last night. The food and atmosphere were amazing and service was great! Our server Mikkel was super friendly and attentive.

Good food with nice views of Bryggen. Had a not so perfect experience: we only found out after paying for our order that they were out of what we ordered. Luckily we were able to decide for something else (although not so many vegetarian options), but since the new order was cheaper, they could only refund me in cash. Lucky that I paid attention, as they also counted wrong and were going to refund me poorly, plus it took a while for the whole thing to be solved. But once it got resolved, we didn't wait too long before getting the order. Would have just been nicer for them to make up for the disturbance some way.

Great outdoor seating overseeing the harbor and Bryggen. We came here to enjoy beers and they had some good choices of local IPA beers served cold in a beer glass. Great friendly service. This was a great place to visit while we were in Bergen.

Had a great experience - good drink selection and friendly bartenders. It was a little on the slow side since it was raining and we had the chance to talk with Rolf. He was down to earth, super friendly, and provided some great recommendations to check out while we were in town (since we were visiting from the states).

The view was panoramic. You feel as if you are floating on water. Service was really nice and the staff are super friendly, the value of food is really good compared to what you pay. Do not expect to get your order quickly if it's only weekend, but it worth to wait for at the end. ❤️

We came to watch the Euro final in football without reserving a table and we got amazing seats and great service. Could not have been happier, thank you for making our evening 🫶🏼

Decent for Bergen We had dinner here in May 2018. If ever stuck in Bergen again, I would consider dining here again. PROS: - Limited but good beer selection - Staff at bar was enthusiastic and gave beer samples - Affordable for this location - Comfortable cushioned booths outside CONS: - Food is mediocre at best - see details below. - Counter service, and though they brought the food out to you, they were sure to remind you that you can get up and get your condiments yourself. FOOD DETAILS: Husband ordered a Mexican lager and club sandwich. I ordered a fruity beer and salmon salad. Both beers were great. Club sandwich was too much bread, not enough fillings. Fries that came with bread were ok but not great. Salmon salad had very little salmon in it. I do not recommend.

Quite little place to get out of the rain for a bit. We don’t try any food, coffee only. We had mocha which seemed to be made from real cocoa powder and not syrup. Really good flavor but could have been hotter.

We stopped by Godt Brød Korskirken during our walking tour of Bergen with Ani today. We are visiting Bergen as part of our 17 day cruise through Norway and saw this bakery while exploring the city on foot. It looked so inviting and my friend had told me I absolutely had to try a traditional Norwegian cinnamon roll while in Norway so we decided to come in. Johanne was behind the counter and she was so friendly and helpful. In addition to the cinnamon roll she recommended we also try the raisin roll the cardamom roll and the award winning almond and custard roll. We ended up getting all of them along with a cappuccino for my husband two hot chocolates for our daughters and a chai latte for me. Everything was absolutely delicious. The almond and custard roll was my personal favorite with just the right balance of sweetness and texture. My husband and our older daughter loved the cardamom roll which had a beautiful aroma and a soft fluffy texture. Our younger daughter was all about the cinnamon roll and finished the whole thing on her own. The drinks were also excellent and made with care. The hot chocolate was rich and comforting the cappuccino had a smooth bold flavor and the chai latte was warm and perfectly spiced. The service was excellent and Johanne made us feel truly welcome. The bakery itself has a lovely atmosphere and is a perfect stop whether you are looking for a quick treat or a relaxing break during your time in Bergen. We are so glad we came here and would definitely return. This was one of those unexpected gems that makes travel so special.

Tried a few breakfast places, this one has been my favorite so far! The food was really 👍! The carrot cake, very juicy and rich in flavor. The sandwich, wich you create yourself "subway" style, all fresh ingredients that were super nice. And the lady who did the sandwich was a super sweetheart. Def. Going to come back before I leave bergen!

The school bread was the best we had since coming to Norway and we have had a few lol. We did order an ice latte and they gave us hot ones. They cafe also was very warm and would benefit from some air movement (hardly anyone has AC) but fans etc would help.

Visited several times. Julie was friendly and helpful as were all the staff. Great coffee and pastries amazing toasties and sandwiches.. We had lots! Sat outside in the sun and inside in the rain! Both were good.

I had an amazing night at this beer bar! The place has such a cozy yet lively atmosphere. They have live music with a great singer performing everything from acoustic hits to upbeat party songs. The vibe is chill but energetic – perfect for both hanging out with friends or meeting new people. Their beer selection is impressive and reasonably priced. What I really loved is that they’re open until 3 AM, so you can truly enjoy the night without feeling rushed. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out if you’re looking for good vibes, music, and drinks!

Sjoboden is a simple drinking hole. Beer and basic other drinks. Great position and vibe in or out doors. Stopping bye for a drink while looking around the Bryggen.

This is an excellent spot for people who like live music we all know and cherish to sing along to. Easily accessible for all. Have a drink and soak up the atmosphere of our wonderful Bryggen. Usually loads of tourists during summer.

We just had a beer and listened to their live music performer. He was excellent!!!

Absolutely great place to sit in a dark room and watch tourist wander in too far before realising they are in a bar and not an overpriced arts and crafts sales room. Once they spot their error, do they try to leave with some dignity intact or carry on and have a small drink. I spent a good hour watching this comedy play out. Great fun. Extra points for having bench seats that are just a little to high to casually sit on if you are over 50 and have a bit of a sore back.

I would definitely recommend this bar. The live music is really good, the environment inside is very nice and, the most important thing, the owner and the workers are VERY NICE, very good people. They helped us a lot yesterday, I wish them all the best :)
