Bathsheba, located on the east coast of Barbados, offers a rugged and scenic beach with dramatic rock formations. It is renowned as a surfing destination, particularly for the famous Soup Bowl swell that attracts surfers from around the world. The beach features beautiful pools formed by the rolling Atlantic sea, providing opportunities for relaxing soaks and family-friendly sea baths.
That's the eastern part of the island, the ocean site, famous spot for surfing. Absolutely beautiful. A must see and visit.
Krasimira V — Google review
One of the most charming points of the island. We could not swim as the waves were high, but we had great time just by chilling in the park. Really worth the visit!

Bathsheba and the "Soup bowl" on the stunning Atlantic East coast of Barbados. If you're a surfer, then this is one of the best spots in the world 🌍
EFlatMajor7 — Google review
Came here on a weekday around midday. It is a lovely beach a little different from the others on the island. This beach is more rocky, and has rougher waves. If swimming or surfing please take caution and heed all warnings. It's truly a beautiful sight and very calming to watch the waves and listen to the ocean. There are areas to sit on the grass or benches as the shore is rocky in most places. Definitely worth the drive up here though. Would visit again.
Sam D — Google review
Beautiful beach. It's not the best to get into a the rocks are sharp and can cut your feet. There are strong waves to knock you over, and lots of sea moss and weeds. I did enter though and the temp was nice, but I cut my foot so enter at your own caution. Best to just walk along the shore and let the waves touch you.
Leonard — Google review
Easily my most favorite coastal destination in Barbados. We spent a good half hour here wandering the beach. Large rocks jutting out of the ocean is just otherworldly. Very quiet, not a lot of people around at the time. A lot of sargassum seaweed though. It does have a bit of a smell and it’s thick and attracts bugs. But otherwise adds a bit of color and extra beauty to the scenery. I can only imagine what this beach would look like with none of the seaweed! Visited in May 2025
Anna R — Google review
Beautiful rugged beach with sensational views. Worth noting you can't really get onto the beach itself due to the rough seas and huge amounts of seaweed, and the area doesn't have much to do expect for a couple of small restaurants. Still, I'd make time for this if you want to see some of the best views of Barbados.
Daniel C — Google review
Amazing beach — rugged, scenic, and full of character. There are some parking spots nearby. The waves were quite choppy, so we only saw surfers in the water, but it’s a lovely place to relax and take in the view.

Andromeda Botanic Gardens, located near Bathsheba, is a stunning 6-acre garden offering self-guided walks amidst tropical plants, flowers, and trees. Founded by Iris Bannochie in 1954, the gardens are home to over 600 plant species including begonias, bougainvillea, cacti, ferns, heliconia, hibiscus and orchids.
Beautiful botanic gardens, filled with fabulous trees and wildlife. Great trail through the gardens with an audio tour app. A restaurant and cafe serving the most delicious pastries, so good we bought extra to take home! 10/10 recommend spending a morning here and stopping for some food at the end. Pick up a lovely local hand crafted gift in the gift shop on your way out 🥰
Louise — Google review
Since an entrance you are welcomed by a lovely lady working on cash desk. She was super nice and helpful. We also decided to have a drink and pastry at cafe there. They are making them fresh everyday and we also were able to buy a loaf of bread! It was delicious and similar to more European style bread (not that sweet and deliciously crusty, so we enjoyed it with just a butter 😄). Both lemonade and pastries was delicious.
Oliwia K — Google review
A little bit pricey IMO for entrance but it’s an absolutely lovely space for a stroll. Manicured very well and beautiful flowers. Unfortunately no monkeys were seen! But there were geckos:) Well worth heading to after the PEG Farm 15 min away by taxi.
Jennifer S — Google review
Excellent botanical garden. A must visit if you are impressed by botanical spaces and are into botany. Lots of flora you will only find in this island, some that ahs been imported but thrives here, and greenery will fill your point of view whichever way you look. The Eastside cafe near the entrance has good coffee. It did rain on my visit and I recommend bringing an umbrella so you can enjoy comfortably.
Rajkiran N — Google review
Was lovely environment, we did not go into the actual garden but saw a monkey from the entrance. It offers a very relax natural atmosphere and has a restaurant by the side. We met a young lad at the reception who was very friendly and engaged us in pleasant discussions. We had just had breakfast at Zemi so we couldn’t really eat at this restaurant. Overall was a lovely time.
Joseph A — Google review
Very beautiful garden, warmly recommended if you want to know more about the nature of the island.
Lorenzo P — Google review
I am a fan of Botanical Gardens and this was by far one of the most beautiful peaceful Gardens I have ever been to. The staff were so kind and very helpful. I had the most delicious snack of a croissant and a coffee that was so fresh. I really enjoyed talking to the owner, Sharon, she was so lovely. I downloaded the app which I thought was extremely helpful explaining all of the beautiful Plants and Flowers that are a part of this garden. There is also a little cafe on site and a cute little locally sponsored shop. I saw lots of green monkeys! I traveled by bus and it was a long trip from the other side of island but definitely worth it. I HIGHLY recommend this visit!

Love this place! I like to come for the walking and then go to cafe (right here). Bring all the guests of the island to this garden🫶🏻

Gardens
Welchman Hall Gully offers a unique experience with nature walks, cave tours, and the chance to observe a protected troop of green monkeys in a lush tropical valley. The garden is set in the remains of collapsed caves, surrounded by towering bamboo trees, flowering plants, and a serene pond. Families can enjoy spotting monkeys, rabbits, and tortoises while strolling along the well-maintained pathway.
Any opportunity to see a monkey, is an opportunity I will take! Luckily we were blessed with a fantastic series of monkey interactions here in Welchman Hall Gully! Our first experience was about 10 minutes in as the monkeys were walking down from the back of the gully towards the entrance. This was around 12:00 PM. We just sat enjoying the monkeys as they passed by. Afterwards we proceeded to walk through the entire park area. The environment is unique and interesting. We found an area where the cave roof had collapsed which we enjoyed to see. On the way back we got to the visitors center and the women at the front told us to come to the back because she was gonna feed the monkeys. That was the best part of the experience. It was so amazing seeing the monkeys tear through bananas! That was around 1:00PM. We were some of the only people there for about an hour and a half. Often times it was just us with the monkeys.
Kevin B — Google review
100% best nature walks, self guided path, no shortage of beautiful trees and if you are blessed you will see monkeys. They have specific feeding times, so call to confirm, after lunch time, you may see them chilling and playing.
Matthew D — Google review
Excellent walk through nature. Beautiful trees and scenery. The only animals we actually so the day we visited were roosters 🐓 who could not wait too greet you. 🤣
Beautiful B — Google review
Monkeys not guaranteed. They say feeding between 10:30 and 12:00 but they haven’t been around for a bit. However after talking to the staff they went off to find them and encourage them down as the troop is fairly young they’re nervous of humans. If your into millipedes, snails, slugs and a couple of scrawny chickens then this is the place for you. A nice walk through the gully but not much else.
Jason M — Google review
Our tour guide William was very knowledgeable and very helpful we enjoyed our time very much in the gully. We would definitely come back again well worth the visit!
Desiree L — Google review
Welchman Hall Gully is a wonderful place for a scenic hike and to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. It’s peaceful, educational, and perfect for exploring at your own pace. The gully was once part of a large limestone cave that collapsed, creating the lush tropical ravine you see today. Keep an eye out for the Green Monkeys, they’re absolutely adorable and often spotted playfully moving through the trees. A visit here offers a perfect mix of relaxation and discovery.
Neli T — Google review
If you're a local... don't skip this. If you're a visitor, don't skip it! Such a wonderful experience. We were initially going to just walk through on our own but ended up meeting tour guide Asan, I've never had a better tour in my life. It was educational, indept and beautiful. He was teacher, photographer and guide. Book with him. I learnt names of trees, vines and fruits.
Sabrina M — Google review
Interesting garden with a path to follow, we did not see the monkeys as they are easier to be seen when they are fed. If you want to take a break from the crowd and the beach, this is really the right place.

Sacred & Religious Sites
The Nidhe Israel Synagogue & Museum is a significant historical site in Barbados, featuring a restored synagogue dating back to the early 19th century. It stands on the grounds of an earlier 17th-century synagogue and is one of the oldest in the Americas. Designated as a UNESCO protected property, it holds great importance in representing the island's Jewish history. The adjacent cemetery adds to its historical significance.
We visited this Synagogue many years ago as a family before it was a historical site and went back in January of 2024 to honor my mother who died October 7. She was a genealogist and historian and loved Barbados. It brought me so much peace to be able to sit on the bench in the courtyard and say a prayer for her and talk to her. It filled a hole in my heart and healed my soul just a little. This is a beautiful synagogue and is the oldest synagogue in the western hemisphere. Jewish people were instrumental in the development of the rum trade in the Caribbean and we should be proud of that! The mikveh was also very special. If you are in Barbados definitely come see this beautiful place!
Carol S — Google review
Beautiful synagogue. It was very interesting to learn the history.
Svetlana F — Google review
The Synagogue Historic District has become a very popular tourist attraction to all who visits...including a walking tour through Bridgetown, there's an entrance fee to visit the museum and grounds along with a parking lot for your convenience. The area is clean and well maintained, inside one of the structures on-site is a cafe and art gallery, I especially love the way the developers has kept the true essence of this site by incorporating the old charm with the new in this historical district. The artisans shops of old once housed the same businesses as there is today, the original entrance to the Synagogue is situated on Synagogue Lane with the repurposing of the original door is quite interesting while keeping a bit of the old wall structure of the building. This area is nestled between Coleridge Street, James Street and Synagogue Lane...and was developed and restored to incorporate the Synagogue & museum, the Codd's House Monument, the Fire Brigade House and the Artisans Shops and its surroundings to commemorate this rich history between 8-10 years ago. During the construction of the artisan shops...it is said a gravesite was discovered and much of the tombstones was in tact written in Jewish & Arabic inscription was something that needed to be preserved. It's good to have this little knowledge of the Jewish heritage and the role they played during 17th century Barbados.

What a fabulous historic place to visit! Our private walking tour guide Karen from Ruthann Discovery Tours was fabulous. She was very enthusiastic about her countries history.

Gun Hill Signal Station is a historic site built in 1818 by the British Army as a communication post and lookout. Located at 213 meters above sea level, it offers panoramic views of the island. The station's primary purpose was to sight incoming ships and signal whether they were friend or foe. The well-maintained grounds feature lush gardens, historic lamps, and breathtaking views of the island.
Great historic site, with cafe, gardens, and interpretation. Fantastic views of the island. Worth it just for that! Great attached garden areas, plenty of cannon (original) and plenty of history, learning and information. Can't remember how much tickets were, but we're available at the door. And reasonable. Would recommend!
Rowan C — Google review
This is a signal station used during slavery. It's a beautifully maintained museum/event center and the proprietors gave us a brief, but informative history lesson on how the stations were used. Super dope spot
Jana B — Google review
The historic signal station in St George, with the famous Lion carved from the local limestone. Fantastic 360 degree views across St George and neighbouring parishes. A visit is highly recommended, learn how this site fitted into the chain of signaling stations across Barbados.
EFlatMajor7 — Google review
Pros: Exceeded expectations. Expected good views but they were !!! Went on Saturday and very quiet.. Took a short video because photos just can't capture it.They have play area for kids. Clean washrooms. Very friendly welcome. Wasn't sure if I wanted to pay the entrance if 15 but so glad I did. Flowers, Old lights leading up the trail. Cons: Would have like to see the old Cannons in action and see how far cannonballs could travel...could they reach the ocean and take out the vicious Pirates? One can dream?
Dylan S — Google review
Wonderful scenery. You're able to see the more of the island when climbing to the top.
Val L — Google review
This was a very interesting historical site to walk around and explore. There are a lot of informative displays to read and look at. The grounds were lovely as well - there are a lot of tropical plants around the property.
Carina J — Google review
Very cool signal station with an interesting history. Beautiful view from the top of the tower and lots of interesting posters and maps that help you understand the historical context. We also had lunch there - which was lovely. Choice of a starch, meat, and salad, as well as a drink. The price for this was included in the tour I was on so I can't comment on the food prices, but the drinks prices I saw at the bar were pretty pricey so I would expect the food to be too.

Mountain peak
Mount Hillaby is the highest peak in Barbados, standing at 1,115 feet. The trail to the top offers a moderate to difficult 6.5-mile hike through lush landscapes filled with heliconia and palm trees. Although it's not a challenging climb, the misty morning views from the summit are worth the effort. However, reaching the actual summit can be tricky as some visitors have had difficulty finding it due to unclear directions.
Visit here next time you visit Barbados
Unkl R — Google review
Google Maps has this summit shown at the incorrect location. Correct location for summit of Mount Hillaby is 13°12'40.2"N 59°34'56.3"W. If you drive to the very end of the road with the same name (starting in Hillaby at 13°12'40.2"N 59°35'28.1"W) then climb up the bank on the southern side you will find the 1950's US triangulation point.
Stuart M — Google review
Full disclosure: we didn't actually get to the summit. We used Google Maps to drive from Harrison's Cave to where Google defined "Mount Hillaby", which led us through a grass field. Because it was so muddy and we were in a rental Suzuki Swift, we decided to get out and walk from there. It's a very beautiful area and a nice walk, but once we got up to the point Maps said the summit was we had difficulty finding the summit. I asked some locals driving by how we can get to the top, and they said that the "shortcut" road to it was closed today. They very kindly told us that we would therefore need to walk down to the bay and the bus stop to the north, and then walk back up in order to access the summit. About an hour walk according to them. We had a busy day in front of us so we opted out then, but regardless it's a beautiful, bucolic area to explore.
Ross R — Google review
There was a man at the top, he called himself Ivan Ivanovsky Ivarsk. He told me to reestablish the communist union. I grabbed his hand and he took me up, into the sky. And soon we uponeth the lord. The lord said "Let there be BREAD!" and it was good.

Carlisle Bay is a stunning turquoise bay and marine park that boasts relics like anchors, cannonballs, and a lighthouse dating back to 1885. This natural harbor was historically significant as the first port of call on the trans-Atlantic crossing and played a crucial role in projecting British imperial power in the region.
Beautiful beach, great swimming and snorkeling. You can take a tour for snorkeling (we preferred the tour as we didn't exactly know where the sunken ships and the turtles were... and the tour guides bring some food that attracts stingrays, tarpans and other fish). Also check out Savvy on the Beach (our favorite bar here - great drinks, take credit card and a great spot for watching the sunset).

This is a boardwalk alongside a beach, great for gentle strolls or just looking out at the Caribbean sea. Most of the beach near the boardwalk is usually empty, so the boardwalk is also low traffic. A few issues, the boardwalk is short, not long enough for a decent run. Another issue is that you can't easilyrun on the boardwalk and then continue your run on the road. Given the length, I think this is best reserved for leisurely strolls, rather than anything strenuous.
Akintayo H — Google review
We had a beautiful walk along the boardwalk. The breeze was a welcome respite from the heat. Some of the boardwalk had been ravished by hurricane Beryl but there were workman fixing parts of it. The South Coast is beautiful.

Very nice artwork along the walk and a scenic, easy stroll for a while along the southwest beaches. Keep an eye open for crabs and lizards, too! There are a few points at which the boards have a gap with potentially wet sand, so be careful if you care deeply about your shoes!

Perhaps the most secluded beach in Barbados. It has most of the qualities of a great beach, though unfortunately there was some seaweed at my time of visit. Lots of privacy available and to be expected as it is quite a drive to get here from the resorts and the hotel areas. The promenade leading from the tiny parking area to the beach is itself quite a geological marvel with fossil-pressed rocks and stones bounding the pathway The seaweed will be too much for many people, for those who can ignore it, this is a prime spot to take a dip and take in the sun Be warned, there are no lifeguards around!!!!!

Place is beautiful for a picknick but not for swimming. The waves are very strong and actually very scary when it’s raining. This is more at the Atlantic side so u can expect different kind of animals in the water.

Hope you like seaweed...In all honesty, I was a bit disappointed when I pulled up to Bottom Bay Beach. Immediately upon entry there were a few guys running "bars" at the top of the beach. They seemed friendly enough but I couldn't even get out of the car without them standing there ready to bombard me with their business. The beach itself is down some stairs, and frankly there weren't many people but found myself leaving after a few minutes. The water was rough and caked in seaweed. There was mounds of seaweed on the beach and really everything just made for an unpleasant experience. We were here in early March, I thought that was outside of "seaweed season" but I guess the laws of nature don't apply here.

Bottom Bay Beach is a hidden gem. The app is accurate and easy to find. Parking in an unpaved area and can accommodate a few cars. The stone steps are capped with the intricate fingerprint of land coral. A dense canopy of trees line the footpath to this visually lush beach. Ample white sand. Sky high coconut trees reach for the sun and sway in the strong wind. Water is nice and clean. Waves are strong so not suggesting major swimming. A small cave is in the undercut of the cliff. Enjoy!

Turner's Hall Woods is one of the best remaining examples of a mature forest in Barbados. You'll see lots of large trees and interesting plants. To get to the trail, follow the road all the way to the end. There is a little pull off on the right where two or three cars can park. Walk to the end of the road and just keep walking straight; the start of the path is overgrown and a little unclear, but once you get to the edge of the woods it opens up and is easy to follow. There are several trees down across the path, but they're easy to get around or over. If you don't like spiders, make sure there's someone in your party who isn't squeamish to lead the way! There are tons of spider webs across the trail. I suggest carrying a stick to brush them or if the way ahead of you.

Lots of picture opportunities. Definitely recommend going on your trip to Barbados. Most likely will go again next time we’re there since we loved it so much.

The garden is magical. The trail is well paved and the directions are clear. The lush foliage keeps the area cool and comfortable, which is a welcome break from the heat felt outside. There are so many beautiful plants, in various colours, shapes and sizes. There are monkeys roaming freely, frolicking and eating in the trees. There are many sitting areas and nooks along the trail but on the day I visited the seats were wet from the rain. The rain did not make the trail difficult, though. I walked comfortably in sandals without feeling the damp of the ground because the walking path was made of stepping stones. I was told there's a cafe but when I entered the souvenir shop, I saw no café. There's a large balcony seating area overlooking the garden if you want to lounge a bit. There are some art installations, comprised of old technology like typewriters and sewing machines, among other bits I do not recall. Refer to the photos for details.

St. Nicholas Abbey is a 1658 sugar plantation featuring a Jacobean mansion and rum distillery in the Saint Peter parish of Barbados. The estate offers guided or self tours showcasing its historical and architectural furnishings, antiques, chimney stacks, Chinese Chippendale staircase, and Dutch gables. Visitors can also enjoy scenic explorations of natural gullies and take a train to Cherry Hill for pristine views of the plantation.
As a local, it's been some place I wanted to visit for a long time. Decided to go and was not disappointed. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating, even down to the guys who maintain the facility and track by extension. Having done a few rum tours in different countries I definitely find this one to be more unique with the steam train, and gives and immersive experience and understanding into the history of the Abbey as well rum production as a whole. They were many your options to choose, but I did the 20 minutes train ride paired with the rum tasting. Only issue I found was that is was a bit pricey, but it can be argued that they have a specific allure in having the old fashioned locomotive. They also spoke of track extensions ,which I think would be great
Shomari B — Google review
We started our tour poorly because it was raining and Google Maps took us down a shorter but unpaved back road, on which we almost got stuck. Luckily we called them and they guided us to the starting point. Note that if Google Maps is taking you on a dirt road a few minutes before you're due to arrive, that's the bad back road and you really shouldn't go that way. Advice to managemrnt: add some signs there to guide visitors the right way. We started with the short steam train ride, which was enjoyable even though it rained. We then continued with a guided tour of the house. A 20 minute video of the distillery and Barbados followed, which was fun, but we expected a distillery tour, even if short. Then we had the tasting, which was disappointing - only a couple of their cheapest rums and it ended very quickly. We were hoping to buy a few bottles of rum at the end, but they were far too expensive, so we bought none. Advice to management: make it clear that there's no tour of the distillery with this package, just a video. Improve the tasting experience with more variety and taking a bit more time. And do work on those prices a bit - it's better to sell more at a lower price then sell almost nothing at all. Overall it was a great experience, especially since the guides were engaging and funny, but some tweaks could easily be made to gain that extra star.

This is a very nice tour with a few options for what to see and the length of the train ride. The islands history is shared throughout the tour, which is very informative. The cafe was good as well. The food was very good and fairly priced. I would recommend it for some light entertainment.

Absolutely wonderful experience. We purchased the ticket for the train and the rum tour, which were 100% worth it. The train ride feels from another era on the coal-powered engine. Our train guide, Tonia, was fantastic and charming. She has a lovely voice. It was my niece’s birthday on the day that we went, so I asked Tonia to send her a greeting which she agreed to! Well-earned tip for a gift to remember. The second part of the tour was the rum distillery. That was fascinating to me, particularly the traditional method that continues to be widely used in Barbados. The guide, Chris, was also knowledgeable. Before the rum tasting you watch an 18 minute film shot by one of the owners. Honestly, I was not expecting much from it, but I was wrong. It is a film about Barbados during colonial times narrated in the most clever, hilarious way possible. Worth a watch!

We had an amazing day at the St. Nicholas Abbey. We did the train ride and full visit to the house and distillery. Our guides were super nice, and the visit is really worth it. Warmly recommended to do both the train ride and the guided tours.

I first came here in 2023 with my husband and it was a 5 star experience. Our guide, Virginia, was knowledgeable and took the time to explain things fully. We took a train ride to Cherry Tree Hill and it was a beautiful vista. Our tasting was done by Simon Warren. We had lunch in the outdoor restaurant after and Mr. Warren took the time to thank each of us, personally, for coming. In 2025, I came here with a friend. I would give it a 3.5 star experience. Our guide was fine but Virginia was sadly in the gift shop and the guide who took us through missed A LOT. So I explained things about slavery at the plantation, medicinal gardens, the bricks, and so on to my friend. There were 2 options for a train ride. We took the latest option and it was essentiallly just a marketing ride for the new areas where there will be luxury rental stays. It was fine and nice for a first timer. The tasting was okay. Mr. Warren was not present which is understandable. He can't be there all the time. Lunch was also decent. For first timers, i do recommend coming here. Just make sure the guide doesn't try to rush you through and you hear the history. Very little history was given.
Christine K — Google review
Amazing tour. Both the train ride and the great house tours were really great and well worth it. It was our favorite tour on the island. My only complaint is that the rum tasting was incredibly stingy. The rums are very expensive, so for someone who loves rum and would gladly pay for a really nice bottle, it would have been nice to taste some of the aged rums. We only got to taste the silver, 5 year regular proof, and a ginger liqueur. I've read old reviews that say they got to taste the entire lineup, so I'm not sure why this is no longer the case. If you want someone to spend hundreds of dollars on your rums, it should be included in the tasting. Even if there is a separate charge for a premium tasting, I would have jumped on the opportunity immediately.
Levente D — Google review
We did the train, house and distillery tour as a family, which was very enjoyable and informative. What really elevated the expirence was the staff, all were great, especially the owner Simon. While the rum is excellent the molasses cookies are to die for. Only slight caveat is it seems a little expensive for what you get.

The Animal Flower Cave, situated in the Saint Lucy parish on the north of Barbados, is a captivating ocean cave with steps leading to a coral floor, sea anemones, and natural rock pools. The cave offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea through diamond-shaped holes on the cliffs. Visitors can also explore unusual brown and green formations created by the oxidation of iron and copper.
We had a lunch reservation at 1pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant was not crowded and we were sat at what one of the staff members called the best table (I agree). The food menu was hard to choose from because everything sounded fantastic. We tried the beans and rice with jerk chicken, and the sizzling garlic shrimp. The shrimp was not sizzling but delicious nonetheless. My partner loved the jerk chicken. Afterwards we got tickets to go down to the cave. We only waited for about 5 minutes before we were put in a small group with a guide. We wore sneakers and with careful stepping, that was perfectly fine to navigate the rockiness of the cave. I would not recommend flip flops or barefoot. The cave was otherworldly. We didn’t swim, but just sitting in and exploring the cave was an incredible experience. Our guide had interesting facts and info as we went. Take your time to explore the lookout points and shops. The viewpoint behind the building where you buy your cave ticket is phenomenal. Nature is beautiful 🌊😍

I had a great experience at both the restaurant and the cave. The food was absolutely delicious and I think everyone should try the lamb stew. The service is also great with the staff being very attentive and friendly. The view is so nice and the breeze helps on a very hot day. There’s also a playground, shops in the area, and a nice lookout spot. The cave tour was well worth it. Our tour guide was very nice and even helped my kids navigate the slippery rocks. The view from the cave is very nice and the swim at the end is so worth it. The water was chilly but perfect in the heat. If you’re not the best swimmer, no worries, it starts off shallow and gradually gets a bit deeper so you’ll be fine. This was one of my favorite tours in Barbados and I would do it again.

The review is mainly for the restaurant. Great staff, amazing views and the food is delicious. The portion however is comical … the lamb stew which is a main course felt like a kids meal or an appetizer (See photo). The cave was closed due to waves, but that was fine because the views of the waves were incredible and it was free!

My second visit to this place, We visited here as part of our Island Tour! listen, the view here is astonishing! The ocean, the cliffs, everything is very scenic and beautiful. There is also a restaurant here but we did not have time to sample the food. Just be careful near the edge of the cliffs! There are changing rooms with ample room so you can change into your swimwear and out at the end of the Tour. The cave itself is accessed down a very steep flight of concrete stairs. Once at the bottom our guide carefully guided us around a series of small pools with lots of information. The last pool is the swimming area which ranges from 2ft to about 8ft at the deepest. Waves pound the entrance so getting too close to the sea is forbidden. The guide is there to keep you safe also. I have to say he worked hard with a small group of 2. After the Tour there's a chance to look at locally produced art and crafts. An amazing experience with an added twist. After the tour is finished there is a reasonably priced restaurant serving authentic Bajan cuisine which was the cherry on top of the experience. Barbados is the only coral island in the West Indies, The cave has a coral floor which is estimated to be about 400,000 to 500,000 years old. Whereas the younger coral section above the main floor is about 126,000 years old. We were able to plenty of animal flowers inside the pools, which was an amazing experience.

Loved everything about our visit to Animal Flower Cave & Restaurant! The gorgeous day during our visit made for some beautiful pictures and memories! Discovery: The cave was discovered in 1780 by two English explorers who found its seaward entrance. Formation: It was formed at sea level but now stands six feet above the high water mark because Barbados is rising at a rate of one inch per 1000 years. Access: Coral steps built in 1912 lead down through an opening in the roof (called "the blowhole") into the cave. Sea Anemones: The cave is named after the sea anemones found in the pools, which are locally known as "animal flowers." These anemones look like plants but act like animals, retracting their tentacles when sensing danger.

The museum also features a unique collection of horse-drawn carriages and a courtyard restaurant.
Visited this 'great house' today. Judy was amazing as our guide. The experience does an excellent job of presenting the gilded lives of the white plantation owners. However, there is no mention of the horrific chattel slavery of Africans on whose forced sweat and blood the house was built. Please also be truthful to Barbados history.

Morgan Lewis Windmill, located in the northern district of St. Andrew near Barbados' eastern shoreline, is a historic 18th-century windmill that was used to mill sugarcane. It is the last remaining sugar-producing windmill on the island and one of only two operational sugar windmills in the world. The windmill ceased production in 1947 but has since been renovated and now houses an informative display and a small museum.
Beautiful views of the hills and the ocean. Nice windmill for pictures. Very nice cafe run by a very friendly lady. Your admission of BBD 6 per person is a credit you can use at the cafe. Go for the lunch and short hike up the windmill. Food was amazing and decently priced (not a tourist trap). The self guided tour up the windmill was fun and educational. We thoroughly enjoyed popping in here for an hour. It’s a small site : 20 minutes investigating the historic windmill, the rest enjoying the view from the cafe, which serves good basic snacks and drinks. St. Michael's Cathedral, also known as the Church of St. Michael, has a rich history dating back to the 17th century in Bridgetown, Barbados. The original wooden structure was built in 1628 but had to be replaced due to rotting. The current cathedral, completed in 1789, stands on the site of the original church and features impressive Gothic Revival architecture constructed from local coral stone.
Very nice cathedral. Completely different from the ones we are used to see in Europe. I think it’s a must see when you’re visiting Bridgetown.

Yet another historical church in Bridgetown...this one bares the name Cathedral as there's another Anglican Church in Bridgetown with a significant history connected to it...St Mary's Church. Located on St Michael's Row this church is also full of history and is one of the oldest on the island...Barbados's first premier, Prime Ministers and prominent people of society at the time are all buried on the church grounds. The aesthetic and architecture are beautiful inside along with its organ feature, I was impressed with the gravestones buried under the church floor and well preserved, the many plaques and memorial adorned the church walls was also quite impressive. The church yard with its vast gravestones and grounds are well maintained with lovely shaded trees...opposite the Central Bank of Barbados, this area connection is quite nice and clean with benches to relax on a beautiful day.

Sitting here at 12:00 pm and hearing the bell chime was pleasant. It would be great if the clock(s) could be repaired or replace on this historical site because growing up and walking through the city I remember looking up at the tower to see the time

Very enjoyable church and well worth a visit. Outside are many gravestones from the early 1800s. Inside the church are graves on the floor, some from the 1600s, and many plaques on the wall, with very touching words of affection.

The Anglican cathedral in Bridgetown. The plaque says it was erected in 1665. But it had undergone renovation due to Hurricane and other natural calamities.

A very moving Matins on Good Friday. The 20 strong choir was talented and professional with a very emotional performance of Handel's "Surely He has borne our griefs....". And I've heard the "Messiah" live more times than i can remember, from The Huddersfield Choral Society and top world choirs. Excellent organist. Sadly there were so few there to hear it. I would love to hear them give a complete performance.

St. John's Parish Church, located in Saint John, Barbados, is a stunning gothic-style architectural gem with deep cultural significance. Despite facing destruction from hurricanes in 1675 and 1831, the church stands as a testament to Christian faith and determination. The church grounds provide a serene escape for visitors after exploring the eastern part of Barbados or hiking nearby. Behind the church lies a cemetery where notable figures, including a former prime minister of Barbados, have been laid to rest.
This historic church represents the Anglican tradition per the Church of England built in 1645. Over the years due to fires & hurricanes it was rebuilt - the fourth time around 1836. It is of pure Gothic design. Beautiful. Sits on top of a hill with lovely views. A big graveyard is at the back. Could use some attention and maintenance. Many great personalities are buried here. It is an active church.

Our tour guide was taking us around the South/East coast for a day trip and brought us by this historic church. While it wasn’t initially on my list to see, I’m so glad he took us. It was Sunday so we got to pop our head in to see/hear a bit of the service. The grounds are incredibly beautiful. The architecture is grand. Walk through the cemetery in the back. There is a viewpoint by the sundial (also cool) with views of the east coast.

We visited this historic parish church as part of an excursion offered by our cruise. It's located on a hill overlooking the Atlantic ocean and offers great views of the countryside. The stone church was built in 1660s to replace the wooden church of 1640s and has been subsequently being rebuilt due to damage from storms. The gothic architecture of the church is unique to this part of the world. Highly recommended to visit.

I’ve been eagerly waiting to write a review of the beautiful St. John's Parish Church ⛪, a place rich in history and tradition 📜. Situated in the parish of St. John in Barbados 🇧🇧, this lovely Anglican church sits majestically on a hill 🌄, offering breathtaking views of the eastern and northern parts of the island 🌊🏝️. The architecture inside the church is awe-inspiring 😍, with clear influences from the Church of England 🏛️. The reverence of the space is palpable, making it a truly special place for worship and reflection ✨. The grounds are meticulously kept 🌳, adding to the serene and spiritual atmosphere 🙏. St. John's Parish Church is a hallmark of the Anglican tradition in Barbados and is located just across from Codrington College 🎓, the training ground for priests in Barbados and the Caribbean 🌍. This church is truly a gem 💎, steeped in history and significance. If you have the opportunity, I highly recommend joining in a service on Sundays 🌅 to experience the rich Anglican tradition firsthand 🕊️. St. John's Parish Church is not just a place of worship but a piece of Barbados' heritage that everyone should visit 🗺️.

I had a chance to visit this church during my visit to Barbados. Beautiful church with some noteworthy tombs behind it. One of the tombs being that of the former prime minister of Barbados. There was a service going on so I was hesitant to go inside to avoid disturbing them; however, the priest that I met outside was very kind and friendly. The church grounds are well maintained. The building itself is beautiful

Nature preserve
Graeme Hall Wildlife Sanctuary in Barbados is a stunning nature reserve that boasts some of the island's last remaining undeveloped wetlands. The sanctuary is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including various bird species and mangroves such as red and white mangroves. Visitors can explore the area via a boardwalk and observe the local flora and fauna, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts. Although currently closed, efforts are being made to reinstate this important natural space.
OMG what a fabulous day! So beautifully designed with accessible pathways through mangroves and palms and incredible foliage sheltering birds and turtles and so much of what nature has to offer if we're willing to stop, be patient, watch and listen. The bird sanctuaries offered wild birds and tranquility, migratory and rescued and others, interactive and engaging. Saw iguanas and so many reptiles, all housed in pristinely clean and cared for sanctuary. The staff? Incredible! Welcoming, engaging, helpful and fun! Learned so much from Damian standing watch with the reptiles Robert, filled with evident passion in the migratory bird zone as well as from Annika and Nakila (forgive me if I got it wrong) in the Gully Aviary (so funny and knowledgeable - clearly love what they do) where I had birds eating from my hands and off my head 🤣 to Ryan in the tranquil wildlife haven which was exactly that, a breath of tranquil, fresh air. We even had Tony DaSilva, owner and protector of the trust who called us back to show us an Osprey perched gracefully across the lake and his love and passion for what he envisioned was so clear in the pride he exhibited; such a lovely man! The ladies at the ticket booth, staff along the paths, everywhere! Thank you. Words can not express my joy and I cannot recommend this enough as a perfect, peaceful, learning and enjoyable experience ! GO! You will not regret it!

Absolute must visit on your next visit to Barbados!!! The reinvigorated Sanctuary has brought fresh life to what was" just a swamp" before, is now a guardian of our natural heritage as an island in the tropics, the free flow trail through this wetland is perfect for nature lovers and children to interact with wildlife, while learning more about their environment! The new Aviary experience gives people the perfect opportunity to interact directly with birds usually seen in cages in zoos across the world, but being able to touch, feed and see up close our feathered friends is amazing!!
Master B — Google review
Well worth a visit. The birds are the star of the show here. The migratory bird area where they keep unreleasable rescued migratory birds is very cool; you get to see lots of different species of native migratory shorebirds from close by. The two huge aviaries full of parrots and other flamboyant tropical birds from around the world are truly amazing. The space is large enough and rich enough that the birds can fly around and display natural behaviors, but they'll also come right up to you, eat out of your hand, or perch on your hat (or try to steal your sunglasses, in the case of one blue and gold macaw who took a fancy to my girlfriend). The chance to see one of the last pockets of mangrove wetlands left in Barbados is also really cool.

Hidden gem but not for long. Well worth the price for the tourists. You can walk along the trails , enjoy the scenery and learn about the history of this place and then you can feed the birds or fish. Cute little birds , interacting with humans. Staff is knowledgable and polite.

Went here with my VBS from Chrsit The King Church. The aunty's and the children definitely enjoyed it here. On a day that was to have rain pouring, the Lord held it up for us to do this tour beginning to end. How good is our God who also gave us a lovely time start to end. Beautiful gardens and aurora, magnificent birds, parrots, ducks, snakes..and the monkeys...man were they huge. The Cafe here is the cutest. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and beautiful animals. We'll definitely come again. From Christ The King Church we thank you for havint us. Blessings.

Farley Hill National Park, once the site of the luxurious Farley Hill House built in the 1800s for entertaining royal guests, now stands as a significant location in Barbados. The historic mansion was unfortunately destroyed by fire in 1965 but the area has been designated as a national park by the Barbadian government. It has become a popular spot for picnics, weddings, and photography due to its picturesque setting.
The ruins are blocked off by fences but you can still see the impressive remains of what I imagine was a once stunning mansion. The park itself was packed on Mothers Day Sunday with locals having picnics. It’s an absolutely perfect place to picnic because of the beautiful tree cover and green spaces. Follow the road to an overlook. Stunning views of the East Coast (pictured).

A great place to picnic under the shade of mahogany trees. There is a beautiful view on the east side hill. There are Christmas lights in December. Though I wish there were more amenities.
Nelson S — Google review
This historic national park has been an attraction for both tourists and locals alike for many years. I've enjoyed it's ambience for both family picnics and corporate gatherings, and the many shady areas provide much needed shade from the scorching sun. The surroundings are well maintained, and there are also toilet facilities available if needed. My most recent visit was at night to see the awesome decorations that have been rolled out for Christmas 2024. This is a "must see", as everything is beautifully lighted - the entrance, the trees, the ruins, the washrooms, nothing it left out. It was well worth the effort to reach there so late at night.

Attended Gospelfest One Awesome Day at Farley Hill National Park and the atmosphere was charged. Farley Hill never disappoints. I must say that the bathrooms were maintained throughout the entire day as the attendant ensured that toiletries were replenished and cubicles cleaned. Magnificent views from on top of the hill of the surrounding countryside as well as the inside of the Park as the crowd raised flags and late evening use their cell phone light. Plenty of benches as patrons also brought their lunch and had a picnic while enjoying the various artistes.

Beautiful views looking out to the east coast as usual. Lush green vegetation covering the rolling hills. White crested waves of the Atlantic hugging the rugged sandy shores. The breeze making melody to swaying trees on the hill.

An enjoyable walk in perhaps one of the last remaining areas of natural rainforest on the island. Well marked trails take you on a self guided tour of the forest. Allow a couple of hours to take it all in and there are seats and tables if you want to take a picnic.

Wonderful guide Jasmine provided a map with the 3 main routes. I did self guided walks though I believe guided walks are also available. Great opportunity to forest bathe and connect with nature. You'll need proper walking boots or at least trainers as some paths are very muddy. I.mot fast walkers, the 2 long walks took about 90 mins. Take plenty of fluids with you on your walk! Wonderful views of East coast. Left my godfather to read his Sunday paper on the verandah whilst I went off walking, he very much enjoyed the peace and quiet! Fabulous, highly recommended!

St Mary's Church have long been admired with it's lovely architectural design, and its place on the World Heritage Stage...I think is deserving of a bit more care and attention to the exterior of the building. Though there's ongoing cleaning and a bit of sprucing up here and there whenever I passes by...its still lacking that extra effort into the upkeep and appearance of the building itself. However the grounds and the outside is quite nice with shaded big trees which offers lovely backdrops in photos...is reminiscent with the history and the heritage of historic Bridgetown.

Morgan Lewis Beach is an isolated shoreline situated on the rugged side of the island. It exudes a wild and untamed atmosphere, with a few goats freely roaming. This secluded spot offers solace as there are usually no other visitors around. However, swimming is strongly discouraged due to the dangerous possibility of being swept away by strong ocean currents. Despite this risk, it's an ideal location for engaging in activities such as playing frisbee or taking long walks with a quiet companion.
Followed google directions down a narrow single lane dirt road to an opening about 300 meters from the beach. The dirt road continued but was muddy and with pretty big ruts, glad we decided to walk the rest of the way, fair chance we would have been stuck in the mud even with 4WD. We were alone on the beach just before sunset walking about a mile to the south and back. Plastic washed up from the sea and a little seaweed, but not so bad as other reviews make it sound. It's isolated and we enjoyed being all alone in the wide open beauty of the large waves crashing the sizeable beach area. Dont plan on a swim, just too rough, and no shade. For a peaceful walk, nothing more.
Nick — Google review
Breathtaking and natural. Something very satisfying about starting at Cherry Tree Hill and driving all the way down to the sea. However, this beach is overrun with garbage and the sargasm is piled so high you can’t walk to the water. Disappointing.
Ryan G — Google review
A great view mostly. The sea air is a nice change, especially to smell it. If you have a pick up truck, make sure to travel the dirt roads. The sights you see are pretty cool. Take pictures if you can also. You wouldn't be disappointed!

Stumbled across when exploring east coast. Fabulous scenery, people horse riding, locals fishing (we were too and caught a snook), and a herd of friendly goats. It was slightly hard to get to the way we came - dirt road + very short walk at end, but well worth it. Wouldn't recommend swimming here or anywhere on east coast due to Atlantic swells.
Josie — Google review
Wild, fresh and unspoilt - an ideal spot to breathe in some good air and reflect on your good fortune! Also, a welcome cooling breeze after a horseback trek through the hills of St. Andrews parish. The Morgan Lewis Windmill is close by if you want to learn about the history of the sugar industry and visit the only intact sugar windmill in all of the Caribbean.
Daniel T — Google review
Red Tide has taken away anything this beach once had. Couldn't even walk out to the water as the long red tide seaweed piles were too deep and tall to get through. Makes us more appreciative that St. Maarten works hard to maintain their beaches from this invasive tide. This beach showed what happens when the tide is left natural. Even weeds don't grow.
Dr. G — Google review
Big wide expanse of beach. Just like NJ! Great waves. Does not look like it is used as much as others.
Lisa B — Google review
Isolated beach on the ruff side of the island. Feels rugged and wild, with a few goats running around. You'll likely have the spot all to yourself as we did. Don't go swimming as you'll likely get swept out to sea. This is the one place I went that I wish I had my dog with me. It's the perfect spot for frisbee or a long walk with a silent companion. The ocean is so loud you wouldn't be able to carry on much of a conversation anyway.

Queen's Park in Bridgetown, Barbados is a national park featuring beautiful gardens, a children's playground, and a sports/events field. It is home to one of the island's two immense baobab trees, brought from Guinea, West Africa around 1738. The tree has a girth of over 60 feet and is a must-see sight in the park.
Loved Queens park especially since it was Christmas morning and folks came out to display their outfits, which showed vibrant colors and styles that captivated the eye. The park was well maintained. I especially appreciated the informational columns that displayed facts on each Parish. Overall it was an amazing experience.

I've been coming to Queen's Park for decades, it's a park where lots of cultural outdoor activities and national events takes place annually along with an art gallery and museum inside. The Park has well spread out grounds with room for tents, an entertainment stage and an on-site pavilion along with a cricket playing field and kids play area. Having a North and South gate...the park acts as a short cut for pedestrians to get from one side to the other without having to use the busy street outside which has no sidewalks. The park is well maintained with good upkeep of grounds with a nice fountain display into the shape of Barbados and it's parish pedestals signage, just as you would see it on a map. Barbados's oldest tree can be found here with another less aged one in Warrens which I reviewed previously. I recently attended a Father's day event which was quite nice and fun filled for the whole family with games and activities centered around honouring Fathers...a good visit when traversing through the city with nice benches to relax.

There was a local vendor selling merchandise but no storefront or restroom at this spot.

A really long bus ride for a very short train ride. The history is fascinating. The view at the end is amazing.

Amazing spot for a picture. You get about 15 mins whilst the steam train turns round from st. Nicholas abbey. There are quite a lot of sellers there though, who admittedly are only trying to make a living but can be quite string with their sales tactics
Kevin F — Google review
One of the most scenic vistas in Barbados. Preferable if you approach from the North passing St. Nicholas Abbey and Tourist railway before arriving. You have a commanding view of the entire Eastern side of the island. the wild Atlantic coast and parks in that area. Its beautiful, its free, so don't miss it.

The National Botanical Gardens in Bridgetown is a serene oasis offering a wide range of activities for the whole family to enjoy. It's a wonderful place for picnics, with spacious grounds and plenty of room for kids to run around. While it's still in its early stages, the garden boasts potential for future botanical wonders and offers breathtaking views of both sunrise and sunset. Visitors can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, greenery, and open space perfect for nature walks or simply relaxing amidst beautiful surroundings.
It's Free! We go to the Gardens on evenings to take a short hike, play, ride and explore. We also do breakfast picnics here under any of the hundreds of trees. It has become our favorite spot on the island. We have also had monkey sightings here. Our most memorable time in the Garden was watching a Blue Moon at night.

Its nice and pretty, and we need modern facilities to make it more attractive and comfortable. It's nice for picnics, camps, fetes, and hikes. Attractive place to exercise also. It has great potention. I visited April 5th, 2025.

In the heart of Barbados' embrace, where flora lushly sprawls, The evening whispers secrets as the golden daylight falls. Amongst the vivid blooms, where gentle breezes softly sway, A tranquil symphony of nature greets the dying day. The skies, a canvas painted with hues of crimson and violet, A celestial masterpiece, dramatic and yet so silent. Obstinate trees stand as guardians, their silhouettes are stark, Against the blaze of sunset, ignites the whole park. As shadows lengthen, the garden breathes in twilight's grace, A serenely cool retreat, in this enchanted space. Amidst the fading light, where nature's beauty shines, The soul finds peace, in these serene and timeless lines.

Situated amidst the city center, it is surrounded by significant landmarks such as the Parliament Buildings and the Chamberlain Bridge. Formerly known as Trafalgar Square, this area features notable monuments including the Lord Horatio Nelson statue and the Cenotaph honoring Barbadians who served in World Wars I and II.
🙂 need to buy tickets, free and open to public every day of the year, great place to learn about the historical figures of Barbados.

Really nice area. Came at night the day after Christmas and the trees and decorations were so warm and nice. Place where they tell the history of slave rebellion heroes and other important people that shaped Barbados.

stopped by here on a food tour of downtown. -This monument is made for the 11 different "heros" of the country. From a former slave fighting for freedom, to the fathers of independence of barbados, and even Rihanna the singer who is from barbados. -Its right in front of the parliament buildings, and across from the draw bridge and independence square and arch. -Its a interesting monument, and i think well designed.

Located in historical Bridgetown, the square is where the monument of the national heroes of past and present are located, was called Trafalgar Square in the past because of the British colonial heritage, the name change is more relevant today as the country has since moved to a Republic

Anglican church
Nestled in the charming town of Speightstown, St. Peter Parish Church stands as a testament to Barbados' rich history and architectural beauty. This quaint church is surrounded by delightful 18th-century buildings that reflect the area's past as a bustling trade hub between Bristol, England, and Barbados. Speightstown offers visitors a glimpse into the island's plantation heritage while seamlessly blending it with modern Bajan life.
Very beautiful church. It was open to the public on the day (Tues) we were visiting Speightstown. There was an organist there playing beautiful music. There's dedications to multiple parishioners on the walls. We even saw a family of monkeys playing in the trees near the cemetery. Super CUTE and unexpected!!!
D H — Google review
As with all the parish churches on the island...this one being no different all boasts a lot of history and of great significance to the island's Anglican worshippers and the parish in which they served. They have all been in existence since the 17th & 18th century and have similarities in their architect both inside and out, most have a second level with an organ and balcony. Even the altar is similar in design with the stain glass windows and a clock tower structure exterior...maybe I missed it on my visit, what I didn't see at this one however was a designated gravesite and tombstones of the time period. It was clean, comfortable and airy...that same familiarity of the parish churches, the many memorial plaques on the wall with spacious pews...definitely worth a visit when in the area.

The St. Peter's Parish Church is located in the immediate vicinity of the Speightstown City Center in St. Peter's Parish, Barbados. The Church is a welcome sight for the city and can be seen on entering the city from that direction. The outstanding edifice and well kept grounds is an obvious historical attraction and no one had to tell me that, it just looked the part. The St. Peter's Parish Church with its prominent tall steeple and distinctive architecture commands attention and a closer visit to the site is definitely worthwhile. Much more can be said, however it is best to visit in person and soak-up as it were, the great ambiance; viewing the photos gives some idea of the majesty and splendor as well.

Paradise Beach in Barbados is a serene and laid-back destination on the up-and-coming South Coast, also known as the Fun Coast. It boasts palm-fringed sands, shallow-water reefs, and moderate waves that are perfect for beach lovers. The area is renowned for its top windsurfing spot at Silver Sands, which hosts the annual deAction Barbados Waterman Festival.
Paradise Beach is located in the Saint Michael Parish of Barbados. The beach is long, peaceful and perfect for swimming. The beach gently slopes into a sea of tranquil, turquoise water. The ocean floor is nothing but soft sand, making it peaceful and perfect for swimming. There are a few shallow areas on each end with rock formations, but it is interesting places to snorkel.

If you want to feel like you are on an abandoned island, this is the spot for you. We parked up by the paradise villas and walked down to the beach, along side some abandoned buildings. The beach was super peaceful and there was no one there. We had the beach to ourselves. The water is calm, the beach is large and clean. It was a great find! Best kept secret. 😎

Beautiful beach, clear blue sea and white sand. Lives up to the name

It’s a fantastic bay right in front of the abandoned Four Seasons Resort. Easy to reach with public transports, you can access there from Batts Rock Beach or walking through Paradise Villas. If you need some shade, you must go to one of the sides of the bay. Southern side you find palms and on northern sides there are huge mango trees. Be careful to the manchineel trees, because there poisonous and cause blistering (you can recognise them by a red ring around the trunk or from the small yellow/green apples). On the northern side of the beach, you find a suggestive composition of rock towers.

Conset Bay, located in St. John, is a tranquil fishing village that offers a serene atmosphere for exploration and relaxation. While the red-flagged waters make it unsafe for swimming due to strong undercurrents, it's an ideal spot to watch the Atlantic waves crashing against the shores. The mile-long Cattlewash Beach nearby boasts paradise-like sands and cool trade winds, perfect for beachcombing. Meanwhile, Morgan Lewis Beach offers remoteness and tranquility with deserted stretches of sand.
I loved it. This was the destination of our hike from Bath Beach House. It is just as I remembered from about 16 years ago.
Katrina W — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting Consett Bay for their Fisherfolk Day, part of BARFISH. 🎣 Although it wasn't my first time in Consett Bay, it was my first real visit. Previously, I had driven down the hill into Consett Bay on two occasions, only to turn around and head right back over the hill. 🚗 This time was different as we were there as Fisherfolk supporting our counterparts. Apart from the festive atmosphere, which was delightful 🎉, I took the time to truly observe the Bay. Consett Bay, in my opinion, is a gem tucked away in the lovely parish of St. John. 💎🌿 I love the basin design of the Bay. But my favorite activity was walking out onto the jetty. 🚶‍♂️ This is when the real beauty of the Bay comes alive. The view is breathtaking, with the rocks and greenery creating a stunning scene. 🌊🌳 The people there were also very friendly 😊, and there was plenty of fresh fish to enjoy. 🐟🍴 If you are touring through the island, this location should be a must-stop. 🌴🗺️ Don't miss out on this hidden gem!

While swimming is not recommended due to strong currents, the stunning views make it worth a visit. Accessible via a dirt road and steps down to the bay, it's an ideal spot for a quiet picnic or exploring the cliffs.
Secluded cove, quite famous in Barbados. If you have Google maps you shouldn't' have a problem finding it. It is a bit deserted down steep steps so I recommend going with at least one other person.
Paul B — Google review
Nice attractive viewing spot at the top end of the island. Lot of picnic tables and stairs down to small beach but NO washroom facilities.
Malcolm S — Google review
Beautiful and quiet bay, we went twice and both times (weekday in late November) we were only ones there. Accessible by dirt road then steps down, due to rocks surrounding the bay seemed to lose the sun late afternoon (4ish).
Josie — Google review
Beautiful spot: watch for the sign pointing to "beach access" towards the end of Grape Hall Salmond on the right hand side - this will take you down on a dirt track to the beach stairs. Currently (spring '20), there is a huge dead tree restricting some of the access to the beach - hopefully to be removed...
Phileas B — Google review
I visited Archers Bay in August 2019 and it was on the first leg of an Island Tour since I was staying in Friendship, St. Lucy, nearby. Having researched the places that I must see in Barbados, that was definitely on my list and I was happy I went. The location from the road may be missed but if one knows where to go it's quite rewarding. There is a cliff area without railings and for vertigo and milder fearing of steep dropoffs be mindful. The rather beautiful picturesque view of the rough Rocky coastline contrasted with a calm white Sandy Beach all make for spectacular views. I kept wondering two things, how to get to the beach and even more pressingly, how did they get that name on that rock in the rough waters.
Dwaine L — Google review

We could have spent all day here or maybe never left! Not safe to swim but you can dip your feet in the water and watch these impressive waves crash and roar, the water spouts are really cool and have never really seen anything like that before. We were basically alone besides the one other local. Amazing and definitely recommend a stop here when exploring the north tip of the island.
