Dim sum restaurant
HK Cafe is a spacious restaurant adorned with murals and paper lanterns, offering a variety of Chinese staples such as dim sum and tea. The atmosphere is lively, filled with families and the aroma of pork and ginger from the passing carts. The menu boasts an extensive selection of flavorful dishes including siu mai dumplings, sauteed green beans, jellyfish salad, roasted meats, and more.
Had an amazing meal at HK Café! Everything we ordered was delicious — the chow fun had that perfect smoky wok flavor, the pepper shrimp was super crispy, and the beef stir-fry was full of flavor. The Szechuan fish was spicy and rich without being overwhelming. We also loved the Shanghai-style dumplings and the tofu clay pot — both comforting and so well made. The place gets busy, but the service is fast and friendly. It’s great for family-style meals or big groups, and the portions are huge. Definitely one of the best spots in Portland for authentic Chinese food — can’t wait to go back!

I was expecting great things from this place, but it was disappointing overall. The service was okay, but we had a hard time communicating because the staff didn’t really understand what we were asking for. Most of the food came out cold, which really took away from how good the dishes could have been. We asked a few times for warmer dishes, but they didn’t seem to understand. The dishes themselves were good, but if they had been served hot, they would have tasted so much better.

If you're looking for authentic Dim Sum - this is the best I've seen in Portland. It's loud, it's fast, you aren't always sure what you're getting (they nodded for crab- but ugh, it's more shrimp when you bite in), a lot comes all at once, and then is cold once you eat, and you have too much of one and not another... You have to love the game and try to up your score each time by communicating a bit better, moving a bit faster, being more direct. If you want authentic Dim Sum- the full experience this is it. Show up ready for it! Everything we ate tasted good and we definitely enjoyed it.
Shawna R — Google review
My family absolutely loves this place. I have been there twice. My wife and daughters, so many more times. It is loud and chaotic, but in a good way. The din of happy people eating good food eclipse the ability to hear. It is a brunch destination on the weekends with a line out the door, and with good reason, food at good prices. Everything is good. Go with four people and share.
Rain D — Google review
We really enjoyed the soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings, coconut buns, sugar cane shrimp and tea. Most of the servers spoke English, and were friendly. Recommend.
Stephen L — Google review
One of the best spots in Portland for authentic Cantonese and Chinese comfort food. The dishes are full of flavor and perfectly cooked — the chow fun is silky and smoky, the pepper shrimp is crispy with just the right amount of heat, and the beef stir-fry is tender and savory. The Szechuan fish was another standout — rich, spicy, and full of depth. The restaurant has a lively, bustling vibe, especially on weekends, and the service is quick even when it’s packed. Portions are generous, making it perfect for sharing with family or friends. Highly recommend HK Café if you’re craving bold, authentic flavors and a classic Portland dim sum–style dining experience!

We had such a tasty meal here. I really like the steamed buns, tangy sauce eggplant, and the beef! The tofu clay pot is also very yummy.

--- dim sum --- ❤️Shrimp dumplings ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - juicy - huge - not over cooked - it's perfectly firm Steamed pork and shrimp dumplings ⭐⭐⭐✨ - huge, juicy but not my favorite - my boyfriend did not like this, but I loved it Xlb ⭐⭐✨ - didn't love it, wouldn't order it again - it was a little bland to me, but I could see how this would be comforting - doesn't give me the same hit as dtf - my boyfriend loved it Baked pork buns ⭐⭐⭐ - sweet and savory - my boyfriend described it as a pork donut - my boyfriend loved it but I did not --- entrees --- Crispy chow mein with chicken ⭐⭐⭐ - this was good filler, but I wouldn't want to order this for myself again Honey walnut shrimp ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - some of the best honey walnut shrimp in Portland - super crisp, not overly sweet

Chinese restaurant
Sichuan restaurant
Duck House Chinese Restaurant is a down-to-earth eatery that offers a Sichuan-focused menu with a small bar. The restaurant is known for its xiao long bao, where diners can enjoy pork or pork-shrimp filled dumplings with flavorful soup. The ambiance of the former bar, now transformed into a wooden-walled space, adds to the dining experience.
Very friendly service. It’s of good hopes while serving the food. Food was awesome! Absolutely recommend this place. It was very clean as well. Dishes are generous and easy to share with family and friends.
Semiha C — Google review
I hyped this place up after only dining once. That's my bad 😔. If the staff spent as much time cleaning the restroom 🚺 and checking in on diners as they did standing near the bar and taking to each other , this would be a nice place to dine. Having staff on the floor who can't communicate with diners is frustrating in itself. The hostess podium is absent of a hostess. I appreciate the masks and quick service. Our Salt & Pepper prawns w/I shell , were incredibly too salty. Inedible even with mustard and vinegar. A salt lick. They were perfect the first time I dined here. The combination fried rice had a lot of 'Wok hei' and a nice sheen, good amount of ingredients, but short on shrimp. The sesame chicken had a perfect fry. Delicious. The women's restroom 🚻 was filthy! Garbage over flowed in the stall and outside the stalls. No toilet paper in the large stall, and it stunk. Just disappointed ☹️. Won't be back. Too many better places to dine with better service and Parking, and prices, and cleaner.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this place was exquisite. To get straight to the point: the food was a feast for sore eyes, the portions were extremely generous, and the service was very comforting. I love how tall the takeout bags were, more than enough room to stuff yummy leftovers. Highly recommend the combination chow fun, so scrumptious and filling. Overall, great place.

8/11/25 First visit. My Kung Po chicken was a little overcooked and the chicken was in tiny bits. Will try again. 10/1/25 second visit. Great food and table service! Restroom was horrible !
Dan R — Google review
Hyped this place up after one visit, my bad 😔. Shrimp dry pot & sesame chicken were 🔥, but salt & pepper prawns were a salt lick 🧂. Combo fried rice? Solid wok hei. Ginger lemon drop cocktail? 💯. Staff chat by the bar, ignore diners, & the women’s restroom was nasty 🚻. No hostess, spotty service. 6/10, won’t return. 😞
Wilfred L — Google review
Bustling spot filled with a diverse group of happy people. Delicious tea, dumplings, achoy, and honey walnut shrimp. There are so many things on the menu, I'm looking forward to returning and trying more things. And the service was what I really appreciate: attentive and future minded. Things we were going to need were anticipated, and the table was clear when we left. I really appreciated that touch. I honestly felt like I was being served by professionals and that people were giving me a red carpet experience while I connected with someone I'm absolutely star struck by. A true legendary Oregonian shero. So thank you ever so much for the perfect atmosphere and dinner experience. I think the TVs could potentially distract from rather than contribute to the organic community vibe that's happening in there. It was the only part of the whole experience that didn't fit. Otherwise...I will remember my first time without a doubt!!
Calliope C — Google review
Stopped here with the wife for dinner before a Shen Yun performance at the Keller. The ginger lemon drop cocktail was very well made and flavorful, and not light on the alcohol. The mandarin crispy chicken was decent but not awe inspiring; very garlicky. A typical Americanized Chinese dish that I know a lot of people enjoy but it’s just not my thing to have something so sugary and swimming in thick sauce. But even so, it was executed well. However, the shrimp dry pot dish was absolutely fantastic! A completely different type of Chinese food than your usual fare, and I already cannot wait to try another protein. It’s rated at very spicy but honestly it wasn’t too hot at all, although I love spicy food. A majority of the spicy heat came from the copious use of whole Chinese peppercorns which were absolutely lovely in their tongue-numbing effect. The shrimp were fresh and stir-fried dry so they had an interesting crispiness with minimal coating. My only complaint would be too many green bell peppers in this dish, but I easily picked half of them out and still loved the dish.

Pretty decent Chinese food. They are known for their fried ribs but I think their eggplant, cuman beef dishes are my favorite

Chinese restaurant
XLB is a casual Chinese restaurant known for its soup dumplings and comfort dishes, as well as offering beer and wine. Despite the arrival of the celebrated Taiwanese chain Din Tai Fung in the area, XLB continued to thrive and improve its offerings. The menu features a variety of Chinese comfort food, with Shanghai noodles and xiaolongbao being standout items. The restaurant's ambiance combines Portland industrial style with playful Chinese elements.
Dumplings were really good. They melted in your mouth, and had a lot of juiciness to them. Very surprised with how much filling they were able to pack. The noodles seemed a bit flat, and needed some more aromatics. Loved the five spice cashews. Overall 7.8/10
Seth M — Google review
I'm so incredibly sad to have heard XLB will be closing its doors. I've been a long time customer. Their Shanghai noodles (without shrimp for me) are incredibly delicious. The five spice chicken is probably the best tasting I've ever had! I also really enjoy the steamed buns, perfect ratio bun to meat. The atmosphere here was so cute and intimate. I loved the bold decoration on the walls, and the iconic pink neon sign. We'll miss you XLB 💖
Angela P — Google review
The stir fried dishes we had all had the same too vinegary too burnt dark soy sauce flavor that made the beans taste the same as the eggplant. The beans weren’t blistered either. The XLBs lacked the unctuousness that I expect from them, instead tasting a touch watery. The noodle dish was great though.
Johanan O — Google review
Super nice interior and patio design in the restaurant, staff is great and super friendly. Recommend hand pull noodles with crispy pork noodle wrapped shrimp 🍤 (4)…… price is great too …. Total $23…. Simple dish for two ppl
Yakuza B — Google review
I’ve always walked by this place but never stopped until now. It’s been on my list of places to visit, and I finally went. First off, they were packed, and for good reason! They offer a few vegetarian options, and the worker at the front helped me pick a popular one from the menu. I chose the Eggplant with Tofu, which was pretty decent. It had a bit more soy sauce flavor than I expected, but it was still great—well-balanced with a touch of spice. The interior is small but has plenty of seating. I also want to give major props to the chefs. The kitchen is open, so you can watch them work, and they were killing it! It was awesome to see the behind-the-scenes action. There was a guy and a girl, and they were both amazing! I’ll definitely come back here again—I want to try the Bao buns next time.
Akash P — Google review
Came in today for a late lunch with my husband and two toddlers in tow and everything was top notch. Speedy food, incredible service (shout out to the person who gifted us a kids udon noodle on the house which my boys enjoyed for diner later tonight! Didn’t get your name but you were above and beyond!) and everything was delish! We had a blast. Those Sichuan green beans are wild good! Thank you, all.
Yvette C — Google review
The dumplings and Bao buns were out of this world delicious! Best dumplings and steamed buns we’ve ever had. The Beef Ho Fun noodles were flavorful and filling. The service was very friendly as well. Fresh green tea was available on tap. We loved XLB and would come back any time!
Leighton S — Google review
I've always driven by XLB but never stopped in until recently. My wife and I are big fans of Asian cuisine, especially xiaolongbao, as she is from Taiwan. We couldn't resist giving this spot a try, and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The xiaolongbao at XLB were exceptional, with a broth that was rich and full of flavor. It's always exciting to find xiaolongbao that meets our expectations, and these certainly did. However, the standout dish for me was the beef noodle. The noodles were savory and had a subtle sweetness from the sauce, making them absolutely delicious. Since it was a hot day, my wife ordered a watermelon mojito. While it wasn't her favorite—she's quite the mojito critic—it was still refreshing. The atmosphere at XLB was inviting, and the staff was friendly. The setup is casual, with ordering at the counter followed by table seating, which adds to the relaxed vibe. Overall, our experience at XLB was excellent, and we will definitely be returning to explore more of their menu. If you're a fan of Asian cuisine, this spot is worth checking out.

Chinese restaurant
Chin's Kitchen is a cozy spot in Hollywood District that has been serving up traditional Chinese dishes since 1949. Under the leadership of chef-owner Wendy Li, the menu was revamped to focus on Dongbei regional cuisine. The handmade dumplings are a highlight, with various fillings like pork with Chinese sauerkraut and shrimp with scrambled egg. This spot gained recognition on Guy Fieri's show for its delectable lunch specials and famous Dong Bei Jiao Zi dumplings.
For the first time, we were able to have lunch dining in, as the food offerings were only take-out during Covid-19. We had Braised Pork Belly, Stir-Fried Garlic Green Beans and Chinese Leek & Pork Dumplings. They were all so delicious that we couldn't stop eating even after we were full.🤤 My husband was especially surprised that the dumplings tasted exactly the same as the ones his Chinese friends used to make for him when he was in school, and he said "I have finally found the flavor I have been wanting! "🥟 In fact, we felt that the dumplings at this restaurant tasted as good or better than those at the more expensive Chinese restaurants in Washington Square, but at a more reasonable price. The only server in the restaurant was quite busy, but she served us quickly and efficiently. We would definitely go back to this restaurant again.🥰 12/29/2024 Craving delicious dumplings, we came back after a long time. We had B1. Chinese Leek & Pork Dumplings ($15.95), C2. Dim Sum Xian ($16.95), G1. Sweet & Sour Pork ($15.95), Steamed Purple Rice ($2), and Hot Tea ($2.50). As always, everything was delicious!🤤
Yulily — Google review
Very happy that I chose Chin's Kitchen to cater for my workplace's Lunar New Year celebration lunch! I ordered an assortment of noodle bowls and dumplings (12 pieces in each tupperware container). Chin herself delivered them and the catering process was so easy: made the order with ezcater on the website and had the order approved in less than a day. Delivery to downtown Portland office was only about $70. Everything was clearly labeled in their tupperware boxes (I chose to order noodle bowls for easier cleanup). And the food was delicious! The noodles had a great hand-pulled consistency, and the chili oil with our noodles woke them up, and a good proportion of noodles to vegetables. The Spicy & Sour potato noodles were my favorite, such a unique taste! The dumplings had generous amounts of filling and Chin was thoughtful enough to provide lots of sauces and chili oil for dipping. Highly recommend the food and especially catering from them for your next event! I can't wait to order more delicious Chinese food from them! Now I have to watch the episode with them featured in DDD with Guy Fieri! Thanks Chin!

I had just finished an escape room nearby and was on the hunt for something satisfying when I stumbled across Chin’s Kitchen. It’s not fancy, and that’s usually fine by me—some of the best meals I’ve ever had came from hole-in-the-wall spots. When I walked in, the staff greeted me warmly, which was a great start. The space definitely has an older vibe and could use a bit of a refresh, but I was hopeful that the food would speak for itself. The menu was large—maybe too large—and I felt a little overwhelmed, so I asked the waitress (who seemed like the one in charge) to steer me in the right direction. She confidently told me the top three dishes on the menu, and I chose one of them: the shrimp dumplings. The smell from the kitchen was amazing, so I had high hopes… but when the dish arrived, it looked like a bowl of raw dough. There was no garnish, no color—nothing to bring the plate to life. I took a bite and immediately felt like I was chewing through uncooked bread dough. It was thick, heavy, and lacked any of the delicate texture I was expecting. I actually started peeling off the dough and just eating the shrimp mixture inside, which was quite flavorful. The dipping sauce was also tasty, but overall, it just missed the mark for me. I started to feel guilty writing this, but I really did give them the opportunity to wow me with their “best.” I saw other plates coming out of the kitchen that looked far more appetizing, so I’d be willing to give Chin’s Kitchen another shot—but I won’t be ordering the dumplings again.

This is the spot I’ve been looking for. The highlight of the night was the orange chicken- something we’ve been searching for, coming from the east coast. The orange chicken had the perfect crisp texture with that light delicious citrus flavor without being overpowering. Coming in a close second was the vegetable stir fried noodle (lo mein). It was absolutely lovely- we asked and the noodles are hand made in house. The bite and chew with a nice light sauce was really something I’ve been craving. We also got the steamed pork and leek dumplings which were a touch on the saltier side. Overall I’m so excited to have found this spot and will be back to try more soon!!! These dishes were the closest we’ve found to East Coast since we’ve moved to Portland 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Im giving this place a 2 before i taste the food. The main reason is other than the lunch special the main thing i wanted ( sweer and sour chicken) you have to order the rice separately for an additional $2. This is the only place I have been to that doesn't include rice automatically. 😔. Not happy. Edit. The sweet and sour chicken is actually pretty good. The sauce is the way i like it. Dark red and tangy. I just have to decide if I'm ok with buying the rice separately. Updating to a 4

Chin’s Kitchen is awesome! All of the dishes that my wife and I ordered were cooked with fresh ingredients and had amazing flavors. The Cabbage and Pork dumplings (A2) were my personal favorite. Each dumpling was just as good as the previous. The fillings were tender and scrumptious. Probably the best I’ve ever eaten. My second favorite, The General Tso’s Chicken (F1), had a nice crunchy texture and a sweet, tangy flavor that fulfilled my expectations. This classic dish is one I’ve enjoyed many times over the years and Chin’s version is easily notable - as are most of the dishes we tried. Lastly, the staff was extremely courteous and friendly. They made us feel right at home. We’re from Orlando, Florida visiting Oregon for the first time. It was our understanding that the restaurant recently changed owners and is under new management. So, if you would, overlook the previous, bad reviews and definitely check this place out. Chin’s Kitchen is most certainly worth your time and money.

Went here for dinner with my friend prior to going to see a movie at the Hollywood Theater around the corner. Showed up at 5:30p, ordered and the food showed up at 5:50p! We got the chili noodle dish and it was AWESOME! We also go the 15 piece combo dumplings. It was good as well. Some history is my Dad worked here back in 1965 when it was then Chin's Kitchen as well but they were serving up Cantonese cuisine then. Funny that this was the first time I entered the restaurant from the front door and sat in the dining area. I typically went through the back door where the kitchen staff came and went when I was a kid. Glad this is still a Chinese restaurant and a darn good one at that! Go there and enjoy! The noodles are just next level good.

Pretty decent Chinese food. This is the way it tastes on the East Coast so I felt quite at home. The server was super friendly and pretty funny. He tried his best to accommodate our specific needs and was running out being a champ. What a great dude. Yeah I can see why they were rated so highly. This might be my staple Chinese food restaurant.

Master Kong is a family-owned Chinese restaurant that offers a variety of comfort dishes such as noodles, congee, and dumplings. The restaurant has two locations in Portland and is known for its handmade pork dumplings, fried pot stickers, and soup-filled xiao long bao. Customers can order different types of dumplings, wontons, and buns from a large vertical touch screen.
Absolutely amazing food, you can taste the love and care that goes into preparing these dishes! It's fresh, flavorful and the hospitality is so welcoming. The young gentleman tending to customers was polite and happy to accommodate and serve us. The ladies in the kitchen were timely and diligent in preparing our plates. This place sets the bar high for any competition, keep it up!

I think the prices are perfect. The flavors of the food are potentially not what you'd typically expect for chinese food - it's like comfort, hearty, robust food. Not suuuuuper flavorful but comforting for sure. They give 3 sauces: chili oil, garlic sesame, soy sauce + vinegar, I asked for extra chili oil and garlic sesame. We liked the garlic sesame specifically with the handmade dumplings and the chili oil with literally everything else. Jiang bing ⭐⭐⭐✨ - wonton crisp a little soggy - flavors were there though - not super generous on the meat ♥️Beef stew ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - ordered extra meat - wish there was extra bok choy - noodles seemed fresh! - would definitely order again House made pork dumplings ⭐⭐✨ - definitely our least favorite, but it's solely a preference thing - just less flavor but it really was handmade - I think a lot of people would like the thicker skin on this ♥️Pan fried buns ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - coming back just for these - crisp, perfect, juicy - loved the pork on the inside

Our server answered all our questions and went through everything on the menu. Our food appeared timely and everything was tasty. We especially liked the meat folders and would highly recommend them.

The service and the food here was exceptional! The dumplings, soup and wrap that we got was so fresh and delicious both my husband and I finished every bite. Definitely will be coming back here on our next trip to Portland!

This Chinese restaurant is a true hidden gem for anyone craving authentic flavors. The moment you step in, you can smell the comfort of home-style cooking wafting from the kitchen. Their hot congees are rich, hearty, and perfect for a chilly day—each bowl feels like it’s been simmered with care. The dumplings are tender and flavorful, while the potstickers have that perfect golden crunch that makes you want “just one more” every time. What really stands out is how authentic everything tastes—no shortcuts, no watered-down recipes, just the kind of food you’d expect from a bustling street-side spot in China. And the prices? Amazingly affordable, especially considering the generous portions. You can walk out with a full stomach and still feel like you’ve gotten an incredible deal. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends, this place delivers comfort, flavor, and value in every dish. It’s the kind of spot you find once and keep coming back to.

Came back after eating here a few weeks ago because their jian bing (savory filled crepe roll) was so good. It comes vegetarian by default and it's super affordable, lot of food, and packed with flavor and texture. Also tried their wonton noodles (non-veg) which were delicious and flavorful and their vegetarian / vegan dumplings were great too, however a tad too sweet for our tastes. Their pork dumplings, which is one of their staples, are better. Regardless of dumpling flavor, the quality of how the dumplings are prepared are superior since the crease on the top is thin enough to be enjoyable and the skin is just right. They are as good as eating dumplings from San Gabriel (LA). Everything is affordable here and high quality. It definitely feels like a local vibe here since you get your own free hot tea from the front (I love their tea) and order from qr codes on the table. They also play authentic Chinese music too on the tv, not just play bland American sports. I only wish they had more sauces like red vinegar (for wonton) and more options for my vegetarians friends. Otherwise, still very delicious and will be back to try more dishes

Master Kong absolutely went above and beyond. Not only was the food incredible — full of rich flavor and clearly made with love — but the kindness of the staff completely blew me away. I accidentally placed my order for pickup at their other location, and instead of canceling or making it complicated, they personally delivered my meal to me. That kind of thoughtfulness is so rare, and it meant so much. Everything from the food to the people just radiates warmth and care. You can tell this place is run by people who genuinely love what they do. Master Kong will always be a part of my Portland travel tradition from now on. ❤️

There are not many restaurants as incredible as this one! Service is incredibly fast and efficient - you place an order at the kiosk and before you can even blink the most incredible food you've ever had in your life is placed in front of you. Not to mention it's incredibly affordable, cheaper than most food carts and restaurants in the area. HIGHLY recommend the jian bing and chinese style dumplings!

Stretch The Noodle is a popular Asian noodle food truck located in downtown Portland. They are known for their hand-stretched noodles and offer a variety of dishes such as Jian bing, dumplings (including spicy pork and shrimp or vegan options), and stir-fried chicken with hand-stretched noodles (which can be substituted with tofu for a vegan/vegetarian option). Operating only on weekdays from 11 am to 3 pm, they cater to the lunch rush.
Eating spicy hand pulled noodles soup here under the big tent with the cozy heaters was the perfect Portland tourist attraction for a rainy day! When I visit the city from the country, I always try to eat authentic Chinese food, and this was a hit! The food cart pod park is very clean and safe and trendy and affordable. I wish I was a Moose because then I'd have 4 stomachs, so I could try everything on the menu here!

I thought the noodles #3 were good. The mild option was still quite spicy. I enjoy spice and I'm glad I got the least spicy. It's in a food cart community? Idk what you call them .
Hay — Google review
Truly unique food. The noodles have some unique shapes here and there which personally I loved as it reminded me how homemade this is. The flavor was so good I almost couldn’t stop eating but fullness struck. I couldn’t help but finish it again later in the same day. Could t even wait for the following day. I do wish there were more veggies and slightly less noodles. But hey, it’s called “stretch the noodle” I guess so can’t complain. I asked for their recommendation and they said the number 2. Definitely a good pick. I love spice and enjoyed it a lot. The food truck park isn’t too crowded and there’s a lot of options there. Also not too hard to park.

I ordered the BIANG BIANG XXXTRA spicy and might have seriously messed up with that… the noodles were EXCESSIVELY SALTY. Like EXCESSIVELY!!! I had to add two bags arugula and tofu and avocado to balance it out. It was too much sodium.

Absolutely phenomenal! The noodles were delightful, you can taste the quality! I was really impressed, ill definitely be back

It is hard to find Biang Biang noodles, and usually they are not this good. The noodles here are authentic and delicious. I highly recommend them, reminds me of Xian. A must try!

Excellent hand pulled noodles. Both types of noodles were made in front of us, and both were fantastic. Pork and shrimp dumplings were also some of the best Ive had. Highly recommended! The neighborhood is a bit sketchy and there are a handful of shared public tables. Still worth it.

Absolutely incredible. I had the bang bang noodles. The spice levels say hot is “very hot” so I went with medium, absolutely delicious flavor but if you like spicy don’t be afraid to level up.

Wong's King | Seafood Restaurant is a bustling, no-frills banquet-style dining hall that offers a variety of Chinese standards and dim sum. Located in Southeast Portland, it is known as one of the most popular Chinese restaurants in the area. However, be prepared for potential wait times, especially on weekends. The restaurant operates from 9:30 am to 3 pm on weekdays and is recommended to check Portland seafood restaurant reviews before visiting for a better understanding of what to expect.
What an exceptional meal! Not your typical Chinese food definitely cuisine. We had several varieties of dim sum and each one was better than the last. Hands down, an excellent choice for a night out.

01/20/17: 4.0 out of 5 - It's been a long while since I've eaten at Wong's King. I believe a little over two years. It's still looks the same. Meaning the place is clean, bright, and nicely set up. The food was tasty for the most part and not so expensive, considering we ordered from the Chinese New Year Special Menu. The service was great. They were quite attentive, and quick to get the things we ask for. Overall, I'd come back but with family or friends. Just not really would go out of my way to eat here. However, if haven't done so, give Wong's King a try and decide for yourself. Enjoy!
Therdsak S — Google review
One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. The service is relatively fast, the waiters are nice, and the portions are large for the price. The food is flavorful, fresh, delicious, and authentic. The space is large and has many tables.

My husband and I came here for dim sum, we arrived just when they opened the restaurant so it wasn't crowded at all. We tried shrimp dumpling, siaw mai, yellow cream bun, sticky rice in lotus root, shrimp rice noodle, and xiao long bao, and all tasted delicious. I specially enjoyed their siaw mai and shrimp dumpling :) and the chili oil was tasty as well.
Riviani Y — Google review
One of my favorite places for dim sum! Come earlier the food is hot. The weekends get busy so come before 11 am if you don't wanna wait.... I love the fried taro with ground pork and mushroom filling( Wu Gok). The customer service isn't the best but the food and ambiance is great. If you've never tried dim sum this is the place. They also have a menu stocked with authentic Chinese dishes.

Whole family said their bbq pork is the best we hav ever had ! The food was all very good, kudos on the orange chicken and the places atmosphere was like on the fancy side. Place gets a A+ from me !!!

This was our first time here. If you walk in and see Asian people eating at an Asian resturant you know it has to be really good. Our friends told us they had the best Dim Sum (spell check) I went in thinking that was a dumpling of sorts, because we had just mentioned we wanted to try a good dumpling. Anyway, we were seated quickly. While we were waiting for menus (no menus) ladies came by with carts of food and ask you if you want to try. If it looks good grab it. They so have options with out seafood which is my jam. My in laws and husband ate all the seafood and non seafood options. All of it was delicious. Pictured is an egg yoke roll. Try it. You will love the sweet taste. After you are done take your ticket up and pay. Easy peasy! You will be full! Oh yeah the black sticks on the table are chop sticks use them or ask for a fork like my in laws. We had no idea what to expect, but we loved our Dim Sum.
Chelsey H — Google review
I have gone to this place 3-4 times now, and every time I have gone it has been good. Last time I went, it was great! The reason I gave it 4 stars was that the waiting situation, and particularly the lobby, needs some work. It is a little dingy, and needs some updated furniture. However, the main restaurant is spectacular!

Nestled in the heart of Portland's historic Chinatown, House of Louie stands as a beloved staple for those craving authentic Chinese cuisine. This charming eatery boasts an extensive menu filled with classic dishes and offers daily dim sum that keeps locals coming back for more. With its plush booths and kitschy decor, it has become a comforting spot reminiscent of diner culture but with a unique twist. Diners rave about the sticky dumplings and sweet char siu, which have remained consistent favorites over the years.
This resteraunt was practically empty when I walked in so at first it made me nervous. But, soon after choosing a seat my family and I were greeted by a kind waitress who took our order and gave us tea. When our food arrived it was AMAZING!!! There was so much flavor and everything was cooked perfectly. That's why I give this place 5 stars.😃
Jooj H — Google review
Food was good. The place is very much dated. Not much options for the dim sum. I was expecting a little bit more. The bathroom was really bad. Broken stalls and very dirty. Please fix it.
Nikki G — Google review
Wondered in from exploring around. Only people there at first but two more tables came in during our twenty-minute stay. Tea was good and server nice. We ordered quickly from a menu full of choices and our food came hot very quick. Veggies tasted very fresh but the noodles were terribly overcooked. I wouldn't travel back to that part of town to eat there but would go again if in the area.

I really don't know why this place has so many negative reviews. We went for lunch on a Tuesday and it was pretty empty, so we were seated and served our dim sum almost immediately. If you're the type that thinks P.F. Chang's is considered Chinese food, then you probably won't like this place. It's also nothing like east coast Chinese food, so don't go in expecting that either. What you can expect is very good dim sum, with decor that makes me feel like I'm back in China, all without knowing how much you're going to pay for it. They fill out a sheet for every dish you take, but it's too cryptic understand. We got a lot of food and it only came to $18 between the two of us. I would definitely go again. One thing to be careful about is going after they've been serving for a while. On my second visit, we showed up near the end of lunch and some of the food was a little colder than I would have liked. Overall, we left stuffed and for not that much.
Donald E — Google review
I love the dim sum usually always fresh and a good selection. However, today I did find a some sort of a metal wire in my lobster tail when confronting the waitress about it she just grabbed it and just said sorry. The place usually is empty which is a plus but the walls, seating areas and bathrooms are dirty and sticky not a clean environment at all. The waitresses are usually not friendly and very short and rude as well. Only reason I started goingg to House of Louie because my favorite place down the street closed Fung Chung. I will continue to keep looking for good dim sum places!
Katie E — Google review
Ah yes, this was the dim sum restaurant I went to with my family while in Portland. I found the decor of the restaurant old, run down, and dirty with hardly any business, fitting in quite well with the rest of Old Chinatown in Portland. The dim sum was at best mediocre, at times tasting like reheated leftovers. I was disappointed in the limited selection and the size of some of the dishes which were rather pricey. Still, this is one of the few surviving Chinese establishments in Old Chinatown and so you might not have much choice if your in the area.
Jong T — Google review
We ordered some dim sum for lunch and were not impressed. The shu mai and har gao were okay, but the cha shu bao had a really large bread to meat ratio, making them not really enjoyable to eat. The shrimp in their cheong fun were small. The hot sauce on the table tasted oddly crunchy and burnt. We ordered pork ribs and baby bok choy afterwards and they took an oddly long time to bring it out to us. I'd recommend going elsewhere.
Allison H — Google review
My family and I have been dining at House of Louie since 2000 and the food has not changed... but in the best way possible! We have always been impressed with the consistent "YUM" when eating a shrimp noodle. In our 17 years of dining at the restaurant a lot has changed surrounding it, including the addition of Portland's homeless population. The only reason I am giving a star down is due to cleanliness, I have always used the restroom pre-eating at House of Louie because it's not known for being sanitary. However, I am here to preach that in 17 years no one I know has every had food-born illness from this fantastic dim sum restaurant!

Everything we ordered was tasty, and food was on the table in under 10 minutes. Our servers were helpful and pleasant. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s definitely a good night out. Many vegetarian options, and the chef respected our low salt request.

Big, filling portions on their dim sum menu. My favorite item is their siu mai. They are huge, juicy and full of flavor. The rest of the items were delicious as well. Service is quick and friendly. Although they don’t have carts full of food for you to browse and choose, you order using paper slips where you tick off the boxes for which items you want and they come back later to bring them to you. The venue itself is huge with mostly big tables.

We’ve been coming during the week day and it’s not as busy. We enjoy the dim sum and combo meals because it’s always filling. Can’t wait to try other dim sum dishes! I love that you can pay at your table and they bring over their portable point of sale system if you want to pay with a credit card or NFC (Apple, Google, Samsung Pay)

The flavors in this restaurant are not outstanding, but they are all normally delicious. It is nice that they offer dim sum all day long. The spacious restaurant has a pleasant view and is a great place to get together with friends. Chinese food is a great choice for large gatherings. Today, six of us got together and had 12 different kinds of food (about 20 dishes including dim sum). We were already full of food and about to explode🤣.

Tasty dim sum place in Beaverton. Good service. Unlimited tea. My favorites are pork shew my, stuffed chive and shrimp /pork pan fried cake, roasted duck, sticky rice in lotus leaves and custard cream steamed bun.

Had a quick dinner alone. Unfortunately, I over ordered again. I did ask if I had ordered too much and I was getting a same answer that I used to hear over here - it depends on people. Looking at my size, though putting on weight but I don't think that I am a big eater.. haha, may be I had been under estimating my own weight. Anyway, the food is acceptable and suit to my taste. I wish I could have been here with more people so that I may try more variety. If you are looking for Cantonese food near Beaverton, I will still say that it's worth to try. Specially if you want to eat Dim Sum. Being eating alone, the cost is always higher as I tend to order more...

I like the atmosphere, very large spacious restaurant with lots of seating. I thought the food was delicious. I tried their dimsum and regular menu and I enjoyed the food. But my stomach hurt & felt bloated both times I ate the foods. Also, when I dined in, I didn't receive much service. I had to break off their chit-chat to get the staff to refill my tea. When I picked up my online order, I asked them visually the portion of 1lb of roasted pork. It was a simple question but the service was extremely rude and brushed me off. I'm not going back again.

02/16/2025 (Sun) The food here is always delicious, and the chef's skills are excellent. Today, we decided to try some dishes we hadn't had before. We ordered Steamed Clams ($22.95), Sesame Beef ($21.95), Sautéed Eggplant with Hot Garlic Sauce ($17.50), and Seafood Crispy Noodles ($14.50). Each dish was quite generous in portion, and they all came with rice, so we were absolutely full. Personally, I liked the eggplant the most. As for the seafood crispy noodles, the version at East Harbor is much better. The beef had a strong flavor, so having it with rice was a must. The clams were actually quite large, more like hardshell clams, and since the sauce was simple, it might get a bit monotonous unless shared with a group.

We ordered sesame beef, fried rice, and salt/pepper squid. Each plate is enough for two people, so it was good. I would come back. They have a parking space behind the restaurant, and there should be ample space on the side of the road if the lot is packed.

The fried 🦀 crab has an interesting flavor, lots of work to open the shell, but it was fun. I think it was around $55, not too expensive for a big crab. I really liked the veggies, delicious! Haven’t had veggies tasted that good for a long time. Pepper squid was ok, a little dry and hard to chew.

I’ve been going to Powell’s Seafood for 35 years and it’s our family “go to” place. I married into a Chinese family and my in-laws knew the owner and wait staff. However it changed owners a few years ago, so just not the same. Still good, but prices went up substantially and just doesn’t have the pull it once did.

Very delicious food!!! Always get the fried rice with pork, udon noodle with exo sauce, and chow mein off the menu. During dim sum, the leaf covered sticky rice with meat inside is the bomb, clear noodle with pork/beef is super yummy, a lot more are to die for. One thing though. 3 stars are for food, minus two stars because of poor service. All the servers/cashier/employees are so slow and unfriendly. It has happened many times, but the second last time and last time we went, we waited over crazy minutes with no service. First time it was over 40 minutes that we had been seated and the waiter did not even come back to take our order. He was happily talking with his coworker eating his lunch and cleaning tables when there literally were no other customers besides us that needed service. We left after 50 minutes. I gave them an extra 10 minutes, but no one came to take our order. The second time it happened, we waited about over 20 minutes and the waiter did the same thing AGAIN. Happily talked with his coworker who was on his lunch and cleaning empty tables. Another table that came a few minutes after us kept clearing their throat to get the waiter's attention, but to no avail. I had put my menus to the side near the edge of the table, then standing up, then just did not care anymore. All of a sudden the waiter comes by but PASSES us and goes to the other table and asks if they were ready to take their order. The gentleman said "I think they were here first" and the waiter said "No it's okay." I literally scoffed since that was ridiculous. The gentleman repeated himself "No, I think they were here first. You should take their order first." and the woman with him agreed. The waiter finally came to us like we did not exist. I thanked the nice gentleman, but the waiter said "Oh your welcome!" like I was speaking to him that he so kindly came to take our order???? No. I thanked the other customer. And to make it worse, he most definitely put our order second after the customers behind us because they got their food first. And I was not trying to listen over, but the waiter did not even get the other customer's soup, and they asked for it to go since they literally did not get it until after finishing their food. And the waiter did not apologize. I love their food, but I really don't appreciate their service. It is the worst. Sadly, I will go back again for their food, but I don't think they deserve any tips anymore for how they treat customers, and it isn't just me that it has happened to.

Every dish my group got was delicious. The menu was a little confusing but the staff was very helpful and explained everything to us easily. They had hot carts going around for random appetizers which I thought was really cool. Our food got to us quickly and didn't have to wait at all. Really great experience overall :)

I gave 2 Star for the food only. Their customer service is very bad. Most of the servers are rude.
Sabbu J — Google review
There was lipstick on my cup and they didn’t give me a straw so I was drinking from a dirty cup until I noticed. After I had noticed I stopped drinking but felt so sick but decided to give it a chance with the food since I already ordered. When it came out, I was so disappointed because the soup tasted like straight up barbecue sauce. Also they only use dark meat for their orange chicken and it tasted too iron-y. Then I’m eating the egg roll and a half grey and half black hair was literally stuck in the roll. I tugged at it to make sure it wasn’t mine somehow and it was lodged in the middle of the roll so there’s no way it was mine. Luckily they didn’t charge me for my meal but they still charged me for the dim sum (which I agree with since I had ate most of it). But I’m shocked a place could be this bad. I took pictures of the cup but she took the egg roll away from me as soon as I complained.

Szechuan Garden Chinese Restaurant is a bright and simple eatery located on the Beaverton-Hillsboro border, offering authentic and tingly Sichuan classics. The owner, Daniel Chen, serves up spicy dishes like crispy-fried Chongqing chicken, tangy mapo tofu, and crunchy lotus root dry pot. Known for its authentic cuisine, this restaurant stands out as the only Sichuan spot in Portland that offers less tongue-numbing spicy options.
My favorite Chinese restaurant! I’ve been here countless times, and they never disappoint. My favorites are the fried rice, string beans, snow pea leaves, Mapo Tofu and Dan Dan noodles—so good that I order them every time! Everything on the menu is delicious, though, and their spicy dishes are truly spicy, which I love. The portions are served family-style, true to Chinese tradition, so I almost always end up with leftovers to take home.

The food arrived quickly after we requested it, and the quality is also good. I ordered my noodles to have a little bit of spice instead of medium, and they made sure it wasn’t too spicy. They have good portions of food, with a very large bowl filled to the brim with noodles. I also got Thai tea which was nice and cold. The staff were friendly and did their job well. Overall everything was tasty and the atmosphere was great. There isn’t anything they did wrong! I also noticed that the owner has replied to the reviews, which shows a lot of dedication to their work and recognition of their customers. Would recommend!

Got takeout from here after years away, but it was disappointing. We asked for no cilantro, but the lamb dish came missing green onions, which are really essential to the flavor of the fried lamb, so that was upsetting. The lamb itself was also underwhelming, lacking the distinct taste of lamb, to the point where I couldn’t even tell if it was lamb or beef. We also ordered the knife-shaved noodles. They were fine, but the portion of meat was so small it felt almost like a garnish.

My main complaint is that it was way too salty for me. Chong qing ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - good crisp - way too salty for me - needs to be spicier - like that the pieces were small so it ensured it was crispy Green beans ⭐⭐⭐ - too salty Egg plant ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - like how soft it was - good flavor Crispy noodles ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - liked the vegetables Mapo tofu ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - soft - not super spicy ❤️Chow mein ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - tastes like the chicken Chow mein of my childhood Cumin lamb ⭐⭐⭐ - it's good if you like cumin - it's the only flavor there Honey walnut shrimp ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - liked how it wasn't too sweet

The food was the best Chinese food my husband and I have had In a while. I got the orange chicken, he got pepper chicken. Mine was crispy and delicious and his had a really good kick to it and the rice was sticky and perfectly cooked. We also had the pot stickers and they were crunchy and the sauce was tasty. The egg flower soup was a bit sweet for our taste but still good. I also ordered hot tea and the tea was very nice, didn’t even need to put in sugar.

I've been dining at Szechuan Garden in Beaverton for a few years, and it has consistently delivered a great experience. The food is always delicious, with authentic and robust flavors that never disappoint. The service is consistently good, with friendly and attentive staff who make you feel welcome. The prices are reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of food and service provided. Whether you're a long-time patron or a first-time visitor, Szechuan Garden is highly recommended for a satisfying and enjoyable meal.

Restaurant
Din Tai Fung is an internationally renowned Taiwanese restaurant chain that has made its mark in Oregon. Known for its delectable Chinese cuisine, the restaurant offers a wide variety of dumplings, wontons, and buns, including dessert options. The establishment is always bustling with eager diners due to its exceptional food quality and long waiting lists.
The food at this restaurant is truly outstanding—authentic Chinese cuisine with rich, flavorful dishes that are consistently delicious. The menu offers a wide variety of options to suit all tastes, and everything we ordered was exceptionally well-prepared. The service was equally impressive. The staff were friendly, attentive, and very helpful in recommending dishes. Our food was served promptly, with no waiting time, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Given the restaurant’s popularity, making a reservation in advance is highly recommended, especially on weekends. It’s often fully booked, which is a clear testament to the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. I absolutely love dining here and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Chinese food.

They offer a good variety of vegetarian options. The vegetable dumplings and wontons are a must-try, and the vegetarian fried rice is quite good, although it tends to be oily. While vegetable noodles are available, it’s important to note that the noodles themselves are made with meat products, so if you’re strictly vegetarian like me, it’s best to avoid them. The ambience is excellent, and the service is exceptional. The location inside the mall makes it a convenient stop, especially on busy days. Reservations are recommended, but walk-ins usually wait around 10–15 minutes, depending on the crowd. For dessert, there are a few decent options. I enjoyed the chocolate bun, though personally, I’d prefer a pastry or dessert from somewhere like The Cheesecake Factory. Still, it’s nice to have some sweet choices available within the restaurant.

We live an hour away. When we left home I checked waitlist and it was a 90-100min wait. We joined waitlist. We were 25 min from the restaurant when we received a text message saying that we must arrive within 15min otherwise we will be removed from the list. I called location and they said they will see what they can do. Uugghh we would have made it just fine if the wait time estimate was right. We get there and the reception lady said we have to just join the waitlist again which is up to an hour. We asked to speak with the guy we spoke with on the phone. A manager came and was able to get us seated in 20min instead of an hour. We ordered spicy chicken wontons... AMAZING! A must order! If I come again I will definitely do a double order of these. We also ordered the crab & kurobuta Pork Xaio along bao and the kurobuta park XLB. We were not a fan of the crab. They were too fishy tasting. The server came by and replaced them with chicken. Thank you! The mix of vinegar and soy sauce that they recommend (3:1 ratio) tastes like communion wine. We ended up making our own mixes of sauces. The XLB with the spicy wonton sauce... mmm so good! Overall service and food was awesome! We appreciated not having to wait the full hour.

This is the 4th location of Din Tai Fung that I've made it to, and they never disappoint. An amazing meal like always, and some of the friendliest staff you will find anywhere. My family are superfans of this restaurant and highly recommend you go if you can. Braised Beef Soup is a must have, along with the soup dumplings you know you will devour. Beef Tenderloin dish is also amazing!

Every time I go to this place the service is excellent, they even help you or give you advice on how to eat the food. I like everything about this restaurant. I forgot to took a picture when the food was served but I ordered a chicken soup, chicken spicy wontons and a milk tea. Everything was delicious.
Ivet P — Google review
The vegan dumplings and vegan buns are excellent, the cucumber salad is always good, and the spicy sauce noodles are full of flavor. The sesame sauce noodles were a bit bland, but the spicy sauce was good. The wait can be long, so it is best to join the waitlist online or make a reservation. Asking for bar seating is also a good option if you want to get inside more quickly. Overall a great experience.
Sarah — Google review
The food was really good. The prices a bit to high but the wait is absolutely ridiculous. 2 plus hour to then sit in tables so close you basically eat with the next table. In my opinion is not worth it to dine in. Order to go or at the bar.

It was delicious. Everything was cooked well and had layers of flavor. They were speedy, friendly. The atmosphere was low lit, industrial feeling, clean and the booths felt intimate. IL great vegetation options. The rib sauce was amazing and so was the cucumbers

Canton Phoenix is a delightful gem that offers an authentic taste of Cantonese cuisine in a warm and inviting setting. With family recipes at the heart of their menu, each dish is crafted using simple yet flavorful ingredients, ensuring a satisfying dining experience. One standout dish is the Beef with Chinese Broccoli, which perfectly embodies the essence of traditional flavors. Over recent years, Canton Phoenix has navigated challenges but emerged stronger than ever.
Salt and pepper squid is legit. Flavorful, crispy, (despite ordering to go) and a good portion. They actually used squid as opposed to other places that use cuttlefish which is never as good. If you need to satisfy your SPS craving this is the place 👍🏼. Sad they don't have the beef tripe w/ginger and scallions on the dim sum menu anymore, but the SPS makes up for it and is worth the visit.
Mimosa C — Google review
We got chicken fried rice, crab puffs and egg flower soup. Everything was good except for the soup. I’ve had it before from Canton and it seemed fine but this time it had an odd taste to it. Super bummed because that’s what I was craving most!
Mary H — Google review
The food tasted pretty good, the egg flour soup was very thick, did not like it. I had the WORST stomach ache of my life after eating though. Either from MSG or the oil they use. I have a sensitive stomach, nobody else was sick. But if you're sensitive to MSG and/or cooking oils, beware.

This Chinese restaurant transported me back in the day when I first went into a Chinese restaurant. We ate in the lounge. We came there when it was an open mic event. Not intentionally. So we were listening to different groups performing songs. That was not my jam. Service was ok. Food arrived slowly. However, our server apologized for the food coming out slow. Prices are reasonable, and the food was mediocre. Overall, it's not the vibe.
M C — Google review
Delicious noodles and dim sum, especially late at night. The karaoke on Saturdays is always a fun vibe!
Trevor W — Google review
I called to ask if they had a band or karaoke because I wanted to bring a birthday party there (none of us had ever been there before), but the woman that answered didn't understand my question so she asked what I assume was a manager to take my call. All I heard was someone saying that they couldn't be bothered in the background...3 times, then the call was disconnected. Now none of us can be bothered with giving our money to this place, but many of us are digital creators, so we'll be sure to let everyone we know on social media what happened.
Kris K — Google review
I have been going here for karaoke nights for a few years now and I always have a wonderful time. The bartenders and KJ's are kind, respectful, fun and hardworking. The regulars are like family. Everyone looks out for eachother and any incidents of individuals trying to make trouble are dealt with quickly and respectfully. The bar manager Cheryl is a great person and is very attentive to customers. Barb is my favorite bartender she is so sweet and funny too! The food is consistently good. I always get the chicken and mixed vegetables and it's always cooked perfectly with the veggies lightly crunchy and not mushy. The Karaoke sound system is the best I have found and KJ's Jamie and Johnny make karaoke fun. Thank you Canton peeps for being a safe place to unwind and have fun with friends!
Katrina C — Google review
Canton has been through a lot of changes over the past few years. And struggled a bit during COVID. But they have come through it and are better than ever. The lounge has been remodeled. The staff has a great attitude, takes care of you and pours solid drinks. They have a new KJ for karaoke and he is great. And they have improved the lighting and the sound for their karaoke singers. The patrons are not too ‘local’, so it's welcoming to anyone, regulars or newbies. I recommend the bar/lounge highly. The restaurant is no more and only serves food in the lounge or for takeout/delivery. Food quality is pretty good under the new owners, but the dim sum is still awesome. I occasionally will come here for dinner before karaoke starts at 8PM, as the food is still a 3 or 4. But the bar is a 4.5 or 5, especially if you want music (karaoke on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, open mike on Thursday, ).

Frank's Noodle House is a cozy, family-owned restaurant known for its Chinese hand-pulled noodles and Korean BBQ dishes. The establishment has been influential in popularizing fresh noodles, with former chefs opening their own eateries after working there. Featured on 'Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives,' the restaurant gained acclaim for its delectable hand-pulled noodles. Visitors praise the quick and friendly service as well as the exceptional homemade noodles.
These noodles were extremely delicious. They had a great bite, texture, taste, everything you want. I ordered the signature stir fry noodle dish with pork belly. The spice level I chose was a 2, but I could have gone up. The pork belly was also perfect. We sat down for a late lunch; we were seating and served very quickly. Overall, I absolutely recommend eating here.

It was good!! Yummy food. Very quick and fast service. Git seated very promptly. I just felt that the dumplings didn't have as much flavor as I was expecting and they didn't wow me. The noodles themselves were also very yummy but seemed to be missing something. Idk if I should order them spicier (level 2 was pretty mild to me) and I ordered veggie noodles instead of meat ones so maybe the meat would give it more flavor I was missing? I would definitely go back and give them another try.
Andrea R — Google review
Whenever I’m in town, I make it a point to get food from here. I’ve even taken it back across the country just so my family could experience it for themselves! Frank’s Noodle House came highly recommended to me — and now I’m passing that same recommendation on to others. This place is all about the food. Don’t come expecting a fancy atmosphere or stunning decor. Honestly, if no one had told me to check it out, I probably would’ve walked right past, judging it by its modest exterior. Luckily, I was with friends who insisted we go in. And I’m so glad they did — because the flavors here are incredible. Sometimes the best meals come from the places that don’t try to impress you with looks… they let the food do all the talking. I’ve included a photo of one of my delivery orders during one of my shorter stays.

Our first time here was last year, and we loved it, but unfortunately, I do not recall exactly what we ordered. This was our 2nd trip here, and we ordered Pork Belly Stir-Fried Hand-Pulled Noodles, Sesame Chicken, Crab Puffs, and Thai Tea. It is family-style eating. The Sesame Chicken was tasty, and I loved how tender it was. I probably could have gone for another round of crab puffs, 4 was not enough, especially because we were sharing. The Thai Tea took me back to Thailand. It's been a long time since we had decent Thai tea. The noodles seemed to be lacking flavor for some reason. This is the one thing I do recall ordering the last time, and it was so flavorful. We got lucky. We were pretty much the only ones eating in there since we went to eat at a weird time. The waiter was friendly and did a good job. We'll be back again.

I’m disappointed! The string beans tasted so tough. The Mapo tofu was not delicious. The black bean sauce with noodle tasted a bit sweet. The dumplings are pretty good though but I definitely won’t be back.

Hands down the best noodles I’ve ever had. Both locations have texture and flavor that just hits your tastebuds. They also upgraded their spicy levels if you dare to a good challenge. Staff is always paying attention to people’s needs, wants, and suggestions which is rare nowadays. I recommend trying out the spring rolls & the beef hand pulled noodles as it’s my personal favorite combination.

We accidentally ordered noodles to the Beaverton location and the owner took care of us big time. Very grateful for his kindness. The black bean noodles were my favorite. Haven’t been since I was a child and damn I have missed it.

I ordered online the hand pulled noodles with vegetarian black beans sauce and the salad rolls. Smallest salad rolls I’ve ever had and the peanut sauce was watery. The black bean sauce really only tasted like onions to me. The noodles with cabbage and cucumber were great though.

Taste of Sichuan is a contemporary Chinese restaurant that has been attracting spice enthusiasts since 2011. Located in Beaverton, it offers a diverse menu featuring classic Sichuan dishes such as ma po tofu and Chongqing hot chicken. The Wild Side menu presents more adventurous options like cold bone-in rabbit in chile oil and swimming fire fish in spicy chile oil broth.
This Chinese restaurant is the best. I’m constantly searching for the perfect moo goo gai pan and I found it here at Taste of Sichuan. The place gets crowded at dinner time but service is fast and the staff are attentive. The food here is delicious and I can’t wait to try their other dishes. By the way their steamed rice is cooked perfectly as well. 7/16/23 Tried their lunch special, it was very good with generous portions and came with a soup when you eat in.

My family and I could not be happier to eat here again for the first time in two years after their unfortunate closure due to a kitchen fire. It’s like nothing ever happened. It was packed with people, but we hardly had to wait. Food came out quickly and tasted exactly as we had remembered it - being the best Sichuan Chinese food in the PNW. It has quite the following with hundreds of people who will say the same. We ordered twice cooked fish, Kung pao chicken, bbq pork fried rice, and dry cooked string beans. Some of our all time favorites! Our waitress Michelle was also wonderful! Congratulations on the re-opening and welcome back!!
Nyah G — Google review
Love taste of Sichuan. As a former restaurant owner I totally endorse their only taking in person orders as they get their reopen underway. I also love their response to the customer who complained about this. Even the best kitchens can only do so much in any given time and it will take a few weeks to months to get up to maximum speed and efficiency. Much better to limit to in person and keep quality up. Happy to come order in person at off hours. See you all there.

Go to restaurant for comfort Chinese food! Their menu is organized with pictures and their staff is friendly and will do their best to describe any dish or recommend their favorites! Hands down their handshaven noodles are a must have, you won't regret it! Portions are generous and family style and will definitely fill you up. If I'm being nit-picky, the food could be slightly oily at times. Otherwise, this restaurant checks all boxes! Highly recommend for your Chinese food fix in the Beaverton area!

Our family was looking forward to ordering take out. We went to the website but found only a phone number. No online info at all. When we called the phone number listed, the message we heard was that they were not taking calls. Poor way to reopen your restaurant!! Lost 6 customers tonight. Maybe that was the idea?!

The only restaurant that I will not miss for my trips to Oregon. Is it really so good? Hmm, if comparing to ChengDu's, still gaps. However, over here, it still considered as great :) One of my places that I will have dinners with my colleagueas. This week, I came here 3 times. One of the visit, I brought my Mexican friend, he enjoyed, though he said spicy... haha, the only time that he came here not for Kung Pao Chicken.

We've been coming here for at least 30 years. Some of the best Chinese food in Portland Metro. The Sesame Shrimp is my hands-down favorite. Portions are not skimpy for any of their dishes. It's the best comfort food around. Service is always friendly and fast. We do mostly to-go but when we do stop in, the place is clean, the seating is comfortable and it has a nice chill atmosphere.

I would never recommend this restaurant. I ordered the broccoli with garlic sauce and they brought me beef with broccoli. I told them this is not what I ordered and a different waiter said he would get me the correct meal, which he did. Then my bill came, and I was charged $14.00 plus a $1.00 for the rice, which I never was told it was an added expense. It was around 11:30 am when I ordered my meal off the lunch menu which is $11.00. I asked the waiter why the higher price, and he said he had given me the dinner plate, which I did not order from, I ordered from the lunch menu. He did adjust the price to $11.00 dollars with an unfriendly attitude. Their series of errors seemed to be my problem. I came away feeling like what they might have done to my food with such attitudes.
Mickey R — Google review
I really wanted to like this place, but the experience was disappointing. The owner constantly walks around the dining area trying to show off that it’s his restaurant, which creates an uncomfortable dining experience instead of a welcoming one. The employees don’t seem happy at all, one even mentioned to me that their tips stay the same no matter the season, which feels unfair. The owner also came across as pretty rude to his employees. On top of all that, the food was mediocre at best. To make things worse, I noticed that all their review replies sound like they’re written by ChatGPT instead of genuine responses. It just feels insincere and makes the whole experience even more off-putting. Definitely not a place I’d recommend.

The Chinese restaurant Shandong Restaurant offers hand-pulled noodles in a casual, modern setting. They have an extensive menu with both traditional and modern interpretations of classic Asian cuisine. The staff were very helpful and quick. We purused the menu and picked several items to try. The pot stickers are big (like 3 pot stickers)! They are handmade and were delicious! After that, the shrimp chow mein, Shandong beef, pork fried rice, & sweet and sour chicken all came out. The portions were large and easily shared family style.

This is a honest authentic review. It’s NOT Chinese food if you are looking for what it’s called. The fried rice is ok, northern beef is sweet and salty without broccoli which is not how to picture shows, burned? dumplings is a no no where it’s never near homemade thank to 99 ranch where you can buy a whole lot in the frozen section with $14. I can only rate the food because I ordered on Uber Eats but I got the cashew chicken chow mein kung pao chicken and the Szechuan spicy chicken. No one in my family of 4 ate it. It was honestly the worst thing I've tried in along time. Not only was it not anything close to Chinese I've ever had ot lacked a good taste to anything. I hate giving bad reviews but man I spent over 70 bucks and ended up throwing in a frozen pizza.

The food was great ! My favorite is their Mapo Tofu with pork. It was an amazing taste. Their chicken curry in clay pot was delicious as well. A little disappointed on the chicken wings. It says Fried dry chicken wings, but it came out very saucy . Their service was slow that night, they were very busy and only two waiters working. They served my Mapo Tofu without pork when I ordered it with pork. Of course, I wasn't happy about that. I'm willing to pay more for it. I politely told them about it, and they changed it. I'm glad I spoke up. Overall, I'm planning to come back and try it again someday.

Searching for a satisfying Chinese food experience in Portland? Look no further than Shandong. This restaurant offers a decent culinary journey through Chinese flavors that won't disappoint. Upon stepping into Shandong, you're greeted with the enticing aroma of hot and fresh dishes, promising a delightful dining experience. One standout dish that captured my taste buds was the soup dumplings. These little pillows of joy are bursting with flavor, delivering a delightful explosion with each bite. It's no wonder they quickly became my favorite. While I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit Shandong, if you happen to find yourself in the area, it's definitely worth checking out. The food is served up quickly, allowing you to satisfy your cravings without a long wait. Plus, the overall experience is a solid option for those seeking a taste of authentic Chinese cuisine in Portland.

I believe this place is under new management. They need to get it together or the place will not survive. The sweet and sour chicken overdone. I used to love it. The famous garlic green beans used to be a thing to dream about ordering, this stuff was close to being soggy and had NO flavor. The rice, the grains were falling apart and didn't have that high quality rice scent that I lo ve. I ordered pot stickers, and I got some sorta breaded pork ball. The filling was flavorless, we ate the centers and tossed the very greasy breading. We ate more than we should cause we were hungry. Who ever owns this now is trying to replicate the original owners. If there were any positives, I liked the reusable carry out bags and the food was ready within 20 mins and the host was friendly. But, I dont want to spend over $50 on 3 terrible items in a great carry out bag. Not going back!

Hot pot restaurant
Pan-Asian restaurant
Restaurant
Szechuan Chef is a cozy restaurant adorned with Asian elements, offering a wide range of Chinese classics and an all-you-can-eat option. The place is known for its fiery dishes featuring an assortment of peppers and bright lighting. Their Chong Qing hot chicken dish is particularly popular, consisting of wok-fried chicken with dried chilies, scallions, and peanuts.
This spot has now become a new hot pot place. The place is spacious and clean. What's nice about this spot is that you can choose what items you want and place it in your pot. They charge you by the weight. They will give you a few soup options as well as dry option for the food. We chose one soup (classic ma la tang) and a dry (spicy szechuan dry mix) option. The medium spice is good enough for me to enjoy. The mild spice dry pot actually would be equivalent to a medium spice (in my opinion). They also have some side appetizers you can order as well. We ordered the crispy fried chicken (kind of like popcorn chicken) and the mixed beef with spicy sauce. The fried chicken could've been better if there was some seasoning on it. The mixed beef was good. Overall, the flavor of the soup broth was very clean and enjoyable. I would come here again.

A hot pot experience where you pay for the broth base and then by the pound for the ingredients. The cold ingredients are featured on a wall space and then you select your preferred options and place into a bowl. A surprising amount of seafood options are available. It would have been nice if they had placed the seafood in a separate area to contain for cross contamination. Some items are mislabeled but I think that was due to misplaced entries on the shelves. The ingredients were fresh . The sauce bar had the typical ingredients. The broth bases were fine. Not overly flavorful but OK. A food influencer was dining at the same time as me and you could watch the level of service rise for that group. Overall the place was clean. The food was fine. Definitely look at the ingredients to make sure it matches the label otherwise you might experience a surprise. It was fine for a single experience but I doubt I would dine here again. My dining companion and I were just underwhelmed by it all. It has a high ceiling and very clean aesthetic. I imagine when the place it full the noise factor will increase alot.

Fun & delicious!! This place was great and we really enjoyed our meal. There were a ton of options, including lots for vegetarians. There is also a vegetarian broth option which was very good. I noticed a few other reviews mentioned that they felt the broth was not salty enough for their taste but what they failed to mention is that there is plenty of salt available so that you can customize to taste. There is also a sauce and toppings bar with close to 2 dozen sauce, spice and topping options such as chili oil, garlic, scallions, etc. Beware though, it's really easy to end up with a huuuuge bowl of delicious soup!! :) Definitely recommend and we'll be back next time we're passing through Portland!

There is a new hot spot place in town and we have to check it out. We stopped by for lunch and our first impression that the place is pretty clean. There is sauce bar section. Similar to other self serve spot, you pick the pot, get the ingredients from the fridge, weight, choose your broth or dry spices, then pay. I got the classic Malatang one, and my husband got dry pot. I got spicy but it wasn’t at all, but at least it wasn’t numbing either. My husband got medium but it was too much. The broth wasn’t as salty so it is a plus but the food was slightly undercooked. Overall, it was good, nothing mind-blowing, but solid enough if you’re craving hot pot.

My husband and I love hot pot and decided to come check out Big Hey Hot Pot after seeing it online. The first time we visited was on a Sunday afternoon. There is a tablet to sign-in, but they were not very busy so they seated us right away. Staff is incredibly nice and very helpful with answering questions about certain menu items they had. The restaurant was a decent size with a big open space. Clean and bright. They also have a bar when you first walk in but it didn’t look like it was open yet. After we were seated, my husband and I went to the hot pot station to fill our bowls with any item we wanted. They charge $14.99/lbs which is fairly decent compared to other places we’ve gone that also charge by the pound. I am not sure if we came after a busy lunch rush because the fridge with all the protein and veggies were not full and had empty slots. They have lots of seafood and protein items to choose from, but I wish they had a better selection of veggies. After you feel your bowl with everything you want, you get to the register where the weigh station is and pick your broth and pay. There are a few broth deletions to choose from. We did the chicken/pork broth and you can choose the spice level on that one as well. So good and really flavorful. We will definitely visit again soon. We’ve already visited twice in 2 weeks!

Yummy! This hotpot spot is a steal for what you can get! A variety of vegetables, meats, etc. for an affordable price. I got my large pot for ~$18 and can make 2 more meals out of my left overs. Staff was super kind and service was quick. The fried squid was also delicious!

I had such a good experience here! I actually came two days in a row because it was so good the first time. On my second visit, I tried a different broth that ended up being a little too spicy for me. I was planning to buy some tomato broth to balance it out, but they just gave it to me instead! Everything was so delicious, and the service was amazing. The spicy broth was great too, I’m just a bit of a weeny when it comes to spice! Will be back!

This place was so fun! The service is welcoming and friendly and they run you through how it works. There are large brass bowls and tongs, you select you fresh ingredients, which there is am incredible variety of, noodles, dumplings vegetables. mushroom, tofu, fish, shellfish, beef, and pork. You select a broth and sauce level and they cook it for you and deliver it.There is also a condiment bar with scallions, samba, peanut sauce, housing sauce etc. They weigh it and thats how they price your meal. So delicious and fun! Ill be back

Bing Mi is a popular food truck serving up Chinese crepes filled with a variety of savory ingredients. Originating from Northern China, these handheld crepes are filled with scrambled egg, crunchy wonton-style crackers, black bean paste, cilantro, chives, and pickled vegetables. Customers can customize their crepes by adding plum sauce for a sweet balance or opting for extra wonton crackers to enhance the texture.
Bing Mi is my favorite place in Portland. It’s so delicious, comforting, and fresh. They have excellent vegan options. I really can’t recommend them enough. I have people who insist on eating there first when they come to town and if anyone wants a food recommendation, Bing Mi is my first thought. It’s authentic the service is fantastic. I love Bing Mi so much and everyone should try them out ASAP.

The jianbing is delicious and fun! Not too heavy but filling. Decent prices for what you get too. The duck is good, sausage is a bit too salty for my tastes.
Eliana S — Google review
Jianbing is always delicious. I've had the food cart and now I've had the restaurant. Both are absolutely amazing. The duck platter is really good, the duck isn't at all greasy and the sauce sends it over the top with the slivered cucumber for a bit of freshness.
Sean D — Google review
The food was really delicious. The bing was even better than I anticipated. But it’s honestly really expensive for what it is. The noodle portion was pretty small too. I would come more often if it were more affordable.

I’ve been a huge fan of Bing Mi ever since I stumbled on their original location downtown. The jian bing never disappoints and is an amazing combination of flavors and textures- highly recommend the loaded bing with Chinese Sausage! Service is always prompt and friendly too!

Bing Mi has been my favorite place to eat since moving to Portland 8yrs ago. Every time someone comes to visit, I take them to try a Bing! But I have now tried everything on the menu and I love it all! Jacky is the nicest person you will ever meet and cares very deeply about quality and his customers. I cannot recommend enough! Lots of vegetarian options, too!

Great spot to have a cozy meal. The chili dumplings absolutely hit the spot and the noodles were great. The owner was unbelievably nice. Definitely a gem in the NW

The Loaded Spam bing was great! There was a great mix of soft and crunchy textures throughout the meal, the wonton cracker was key. Perfect size for a handheld walk around the area and snack. 10/10 would recommend.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Portland, Ling Garden Restaurant is a charming and unpretentious eatery that serves up classic Chinese dishes alongside a selection of beer, wine, and sake. It's an ideal spot for lunch, with enticing specials like General Tso's Chicken available at around $9—perfect for satisfying those midday cravings. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable, making it a great choice whether you're dining solo or with friends.
Excellent, clean, and comfortable place to get delicious Chinese food at reasonable prices and fast speed in a good neighborhood. It's more on the Americanized side than absolutely authentic, but the food they make is great. I'd definitely recommend the salt and pepper chicken, full of delicious flavor. They have really good pan fried noodles as well, if you're into it. The staff is friendly and tries to help you enjoy your food as best as possible, feel free to ask for recommendations.

I can totally see why there are a lot of single diners here for lunch. This is exactly where I would often go for a nice Chinese food lunch if I lived or worked nearby. The food was so fresh and lots of variety. The service wonderful. Everything was clean and the prices were not terrible.

The owners are sooooo nice!! We came after work (close to closing) but they were still really friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious, I love their twice cooked pork (although slightly different than what I expected but it’s really good!!) 🤤 We ordered 3 dishes for 3, but the portion could feed a village 😆 (jk we were just stuffed lol I also like how their food isn’t douse in salt, so it’s the perfect amount of savory to my personal liking Would recommend!!!! Can’t wait to come back again

Order to go. Small portions. They use leftover small box. Fried rice okay but fried noodle is not go. $30 for both. Didn't notice that they didn't provide chopsticks or fork until too late......September 25, 2025. Definitely will not go there anymore.

We had the Mapo Tofu and Kung Pao Chicken for lunch. The lunch was very reasonably priced, and the dishes were refined and rich in flavor, showcasing the chef’s skill. The interior was bright, with simple yet elegant decor, creating a clean and pleasant atmosphere. I’ve only had crab puffs with hard shells before and never really liked them, but the crab puff here was freshly fried with a soft crust, and I found it delicious for the first time. I’d love to try other dishes as well.😊✨

Ling Garden isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a time capsule of amazing flavor. I first ate here back in 2003, and it instantly became a core memory for me. The food was top notch then, and it still delivers that same quality and warmth today. The portions are generous, the service is friendly without being rushed, and the atmosphere is the kind that makes you feel like you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. After all these years, Ling Garden remains my gold standard for Chinese food. If you’re looking for a meal that will stick with you long after the last bite, this is the place.

I recently moved to the neighborhood, and I took my mother out for dinner this evening. We were craving Chinese food, and this was our first visit. The service was welcoming and attentive. I enjoyed egg drop soup and shrimp lo mein. It was very well prepared. My mother had sweet and sour chicken. The chicken was lightly breaded, and the sauce was delicious. Both servings were quite generous for the price. We enjoyed our meal very much.
Jim F — Google review
Classic American Chinese comfort food at its best. Huge portions, bold flavors—sweet, sour, salty, crunchy—all hit the spot. The crab rangoons were perfectly crisp, and the sesame chicken was a standout: crispy, tender, and just the right amount of sweet. Service was quick and kind, and the whole place felt like stepping into a grandmother’s kitchen. No frills, just warmth, generosity, and damn good food. We definitely over ordered but the leftovers hit just as good the next day after a long night out.

Nestled in a cozy corner of Portland, Zien Hong is a hidden gem that captures the essence of traditional Chinese cuisine. This unpretentious eatery may not boast an extravagant exterior, but it certainly delivers on flavor and generous portions. Locals flock here for its casual atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to gather with friends over delectable dishes served quickly and fresh. Zien Hong shines particularly during late-night hours when the cheerful staff welcomes diners with warm smiles.
Food hit the spot! Was absolutely fresh and brought to our table once each dish was ready. Tea was fresh and hot as well. This is what I want when I am craving American Chinese cuisine, this exact experience. Location is decent to be honest. Atmosphere is what one could expect. But the good was fantastic. I will travel all the way from Vancouver time and time again for this exact food!

The portions were decent and everything tasted like it was cooked fresh. The servers were friendly and got our food back to us without a long wait. The only issue I had was they don’t offer combinations dinners/meals. If you want a dinner with General Tso and fried rice you have to pay for each separately. This wouldn’t be a big deal however it’s $18 for General Tso and $15 for fried rice making it $33 for a meal, and to be honest the foods not worth that price. I would expect this price at a higher end restaurant but this is a small hole in the wall restaurant with bad parking.

Bri L — Google review
Ordered take out over the phone yesterday and was heavily disappointed in the food and the cost. 1. Take out packaging was terrible. They put chow mein separate from the veggies and chicken. It was pouring out of the container given in, making a mess of the food. Investment in containers would've solved this. 2. The cut of the veggies and meat was horrendous. Huge pieces of broccoli that was HARD and not cooked well. Huge prices of chicken that could've been cut to bite size. Small fixes that would have made the dish better. 3. The price was not justified. Yes $50 for a lot of food is worth it, but when the food doesn't match up to the flavor then portion size doesn't matter. I wasted so much food because of the taste of the orange chicken. It was a very tough meal to eat. Wouldn't reccomend this place when there's more viable options around.

Pure Spice Chinese Restaurant in Portland offers a delectable array of dishes, including supple rice noodles, tender oyster-sauced broccolini, and salt and pepper calamari. Their mastery of rice pasta makes them a sleeper pick for the best dim sum in the city, always served hot and fresh. The restaurant is known for cooking their dim sum favorites to order, ensuring the freshest possible dumplings.
This is the spot to find the yum yums you are looking for. Delicious soup dumplings that are gushing with flavor. Try the spicy Szechuan fish with green beans! Absolutely delicious. Comes with a little bowl of rice.

Damn. Very disappointed considering I just moved next door and would've come back often. I walk in alone with 35 minutes till close and ask to eat in. They give me strong push back saying I have to take out. I order duck over steamed rice, pay, and turn around to look at the menu further. Less than 2 minutes later, it's ready. I should've known the duck was going to be cold given how quickly it came out. It was incredibly bone-y and I really had to work to separate the little meat there was. My last bit of hope vanished when I realized there wasn't as much duck as I perceived. Instead, it was all an illusion on top of a bed of soggy lettuce. At least there are dozens of other Chinese restaurants in the area...

First time here. And the Dim Sum is great! Better than the other places in the Portland area. Service was excellent. Will be back again when we have cravings for Dim Sum.
David G — Google review
I was skeptical. No MSG probably not as good. This house fried rice is one of the best I've ever had. Just enough oil to have that sweet fatty flavor. It is not too dry not too moist. Might be ranked one. The duck noodle was also very good. The skin remains surprisingly crispy.

Favorite for dim sum and dinner. We drive in from Wilsonville to eat here and our family from out of town always gets a doctor go on their way out of town. They have us pickup takeout if we’re traveling that way to visit. It’s that good. Totally authentic and sooo delicious. You order off menu for dim sum vs carts which is nice since my husband is Muslim and can’t eat pork so easier to read the options and order.

Kenny's Noodle House is a delightful gem that embraces the essence of traditional Cantonese cuisine without overwhelming diners with an extensive menu. This cozy eatery specializes in classic noodle dishes, ensuring each plate is crafted to perfection and evokes the comforting flavors reminiscent of home-cooked meals. With offerings like jook, youtiao, beef brisket, and wonton noodles, it feels like stepping into a family-run restaurant where every dish tells a story.
Kenny's Noodle house is a fantastic place to enjoy authentic Cantonese noodles & wontons. They prefer you use cash but will still accept card. Three large and filling bowls will cost you $45~55 (without tip) and feed 3-4 people easily. They have lots of options and ample parking. They offer complimentary hot tea but also have a delicious homemade soy milk that can be served hot or cold. The soymilk is on the sweeter side so for those who like a less sweet one I would steer away from it. We ordered their braised beef brisket, shrimp wonton + noodles, & shrimp dumplings. We did not try their veggie appetizers but I am sure they are also very good too.

Finally, right amount of food rather than give you a huge amount of food and make you fat! Just kidding but yes, right amount of food and the taste is really good for me, as Cantonese. I think their noodle texture is nice. I already come back this place couple times!

Authentic and Delicious! I really like the food at Kenny’s Noodle House. The congee is comforting and flavorful, especially the salted pork with preserved egg—one of the best I’ve had. The wonton noodle soup is also excellent—fresh, tasty, and satisfying. This place feels like a true hidden gem. The environment is cozy and reminds me of a classic Cantonese eatery. Service is fast, and prices are reasonable. Definitely one of my favorite spots for authentic Chinese comfort food in Portland!

Kenny’s is the best spot for authentic soups, congee & other traditional Chinese/Hong Kong style delights. I’ve been coming here for well over a decade. The beef brisket wonton soup (add extra wontons) is out of this world! The chili oil they provide is the perfect compliment. You can chose from several different noodles, too, which is awesome! So thankful Kenny’s is still thriving as it’s truly an old school gem in the hood…
Ryan S — Google review
I come here for the steamed pork liver, not the charm! I’ve been coming here on and off since 2016, mostly for one reason: the steamed pork liver. I haven’t written a review until now because honestly, I don’t think they care either way, and that’s kind of the vibe: take it or leave it. They’ve been around long enough to know their niche, and they’re not bending over backward for stars. Here’s what keeps me coming back: - You can order a side of steamed pork liver, kidney, stomach, or beef tripe. I enjoy mine just as is or with whatever else I’m craving. - It’s one of the few places in Portland that still offers these specific cuts done in a traditional way. The not-so-great stuff: - Chinese donuts are hit or miss—sometimes crunchy, sometimes stale. - Wonton noodle soup disappointed last visit. The noodles had such a strong yeasty smell I could barely eat them. Their wontons are whole-shrimp style (not minced), which might be how they’ve always done it and I just forgot. - Service is nearly non-existent, so don’t expect warm hospitality. Last time I went, the lady asked “no tip?” before I even finished paying in cash. My receipt wasn’t in English either. It’s a tiny space, tables packed tightly together so prepare to wait or get cozy with strangers during peak hours. Parking: They do have a lot, but use caution pulling in/out from SE Powell. Overall: You come here for the specific dishes that are hard to find elsewhere. If you can stomach the attitude and uneven food quality, it’s still a niche gem, just know what you’re walking into.

1st great food and is beyond delicious, staff is nice and quick too, but the place is a little crowded i love the place and food but I don't see anymore culture behind it anymore, people no longer have the patience and understanding, but i love this place the only thing I don't like is the place set up not much space, but the food just hits the spot. Dough Zone Dumpling House has expanded to Portland, taking over a former fine-dining restaurant on the Willamette River. The location offers a great atmosphere next to the waterfront. While the food is reasonably priced and delicious, some patrons have noted that service can be slow and inattentive at times. The Beef Noodle Soup is particularly praised for its flavorful broth, while the dumplings are cooked to perfection.
The dining experience was exceptionally positive. The staff demonstrated attentive service, although the table became somewhat crowded with the abundance of dishes, potentially due to our over ordering. (really wanted to try the whole menu including dessert!) The noodle plate and soup dumplings were particularly memorable. While we were unable to secure the reserved window-side seating with the view of the riverside due to our late arrival, the restaurant's ambiance was captivating regardless of the seating location. The dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and enhanced by a touch of soy sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and confidently recommend this spot to those seeking authentic and flavorful Chinese cuisine.

This has been our local go to for the past 3 years since living here on and off from our second home. And we have always been happy with the consistency of the food. As of recent the restaurant does not feel the same in the quality of food and take out service. As I, more times than not, get my food to go. No more condiment station at the register and our food was poorly prepared compared to times pass. The cucumber was not thoroughly cut through making it difficult to eat. That’s the only issue I have. I am still a fan of this location for it’s beautiful view by the river, food still hits the craving and above all, I had the pleasure of speaking with a man by the name of Joe who happens to be from my neck of the woods. He made my recent visit feel like a family reunion and all I can say is his honesty and candor will keep us coming back. We need more people like him in the service industry. It adds a special ingredient you can find in the most expensive dining experience. Whatever he’s being paid can’t be enough. Thank you for always being a reliable source for local dining a rocks through from our home.

Everytime I am in town I make it a point I stop by. My fave dish: Kale salad, pork steamed dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, pork boiled spicy wontons, beef wonton soup. Price is VERY DECENT for the amount of food and experience. It’s a great place to bring your friends, order and share different dishes, enjoy all the flavors 🤤 Gotta try it if you’re a big foodie. I like it so much I ordered uber eats while at work. All the dishes came out fresh/hot. Although it’s missing the chilli oil, soy, ginger, and chopsticks. Flavor was still there so I’m not mad.

Loved the ambience—beautiful setting with a great view of the Willamette River and bridge from the seating area. You can even take a nice walk along the riverfront nearby. The interior is well-designed, and the washrooms are some of the best I’ve seen in any restaurant. Staff and servers were excellent—friendly, attentive, and happy to help. The menu is clean, simple, and easy to understand. Food was tasty, though the portion sizes were on the smaller side. That said, prices are very reasonable. Overall, a great experience—highly recommend!

If you're reading this, do yourself a favor and skip this place. There are far better spots for soup dumplings. The food lacked flavor and character—it just felt lifeless. I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but in this case, it's a public service. You deserve better dumplings.

We’ve visited other Dough Zone locations, but this one stood out as a bit more upscale. It offered stunning views of Portland, and the food and service were excellent. I highly recommend it.
Subhrajit S — Google review
Possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had. The location is stunning, the views are nice, and the food is as good as any other 5 Dough Zone locations I have tried but the service was horrendous. We were a table of 4 and were sat fairly quickly, but from there everything went downhill. For starters, it took 15 minutes for our server - Aileen - to even greet us and get our drink order. She brought those back (4 waters and a wine) and left without even asking if we were ready to order... we had already filled out our paper and everything. We waited another TWENTY minutes before we flagged her down and asked to put in our food order. Food starts coming out fine, until we start getting the wrong items. The food runner brought out what was supposed to be vegetarian dumplings (2 of our guests were pescatarians for health reasons) and instead we received some sort of beef dumpling... which we didnt notice until biting into it since it all looks the same on the outside. That wouldnt have been a huge deal except it took us asking THREE different staff members across 30 minutes for help getting our vegetarian stuff. Its now been over an hour since we ordered and we still dont even have all of our items. Not only that but with 5 or so employees walking around we sat with all of our glasses empty. We had to ask for a refill of the water, twice. After another 15 minutes we finally get the vegetarian items and again arent offered any refill on our waters or if we need anything, they just dropped off the food and walked away. We sat for another 35 minutes waiting for our check before asking a random staff member if we could check out. What should have been a nice 1 hour meal turned into 3 hours, not by choice. Even after paying Aileen never came back to check on us, tell us have a good night, or anything of the sort. She checked on us ONCE in a 3 hour service which again, shouldnt have taken more than an hour. Even beyond Aileen's horrid service, none of the staff seemed to want to assist either. We sat with empty dishes on the cramped table for long periods of time, we were never offered refills and had to ask repeatedly for one, we had to ask 3 different people about the vegetarian dumplings because no one would get it fixed; it was like dining in a restaurant with all new staff who have no clue what they are doing! (Honorable mention to the nice woman who seated us (i think she was the hostess? she was polishing silverware. She answered our questions about the vegetarian options and gave us lots of good info.) I've been to 5 other locations between OR and WA and I have never had a bad experience until now so I dont know if this location just sucks or what happened there... The food was fine overall minus the switched baskets with the wrong items. We got our salad and cucumber appetizers last which was weird but not a big deal. Overall it was easily the worst service I have had in years.

Nestled in the heart of Portland, Joy Wok is a charming family-owned restaurant that embraces the rich traditions of Chinese cuisine. While its exterior may not be flashy, the culinary offerings are nothing short of spectacular. Start your meal with their hot and sour soup, which packs a delightful punch. For main courses, many patrons rave about the Kung Pao Chicken—though it could use a bit more veggies for balance—while others enjoy the sweet and sour chicken for its satisfying flavors.
The Portland area has some of the best chinese food. The shrimp fried rice and egg rolls were so good.

I went to get lunch today, and the person in front of me was extremely rude—clearly, he didn’t want to be there. Even the kitchen staff were giving him looks, as if to say, “Are you crazy?” I urge the owners to ensure that only employees who enjoy their work interact with customers. Regardless of how good the food might be, I’ll think twice about coming here again after being treated so disrespectfully.

Don't order Mongolian Beef..... ok, first off, I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I have to be honest. The beef had good flavor, just the right amount of spicy. Problem: they must have added a whole white onion..... and didn't cook it down. There was more RAW onion than anything else in the dish. There was really only 1 other ingredient... a green onion...yes more onion.... As far as portion size, it was a half take out box, not much beef, mostly onion and a mini white rice for $17 If you love raw onion, this is the dish for you... as a matter of fact, you can have mine.

I wanted to enjoy the food. The Szechuan beef tasted like the meat was spoiled and it was 60% celery. I was afraid to eat it after the first bite. The chow mein was somehow flavorless, and hardly any pork. I ordered the BBQ pork. I would have been better off at Panda Express, or frozen from Trader Joe’s, and that’s sad. Bummer . The guy was cool and fun to talk to though. So that’s cool…

I’m sorry but I have patronized Joy Wok for about five years now, and this was the worst meal I’ve ever had from them or any other take away. I ordered sweet and sour chicken, and it turned out to be chicken flavored batter in a decent sauce, virtually no discernible chicken in it. Vegetable egg rolls were decent if a bit greasy. Never again.

I've eaten at this location near my home for over a year and a half. They are always accommodating and every time I order either the green beans and chicken or the broccoli chicken I come out satisfied. The only thing I wish they had were larger fountain drinks.

Cantonese restaurant
Happy Dragon Chinese Restaurant offers a classic dining experience with a focus on traditional Chinese cuisine and culture. The banquet-style space is adorned with Asian decor, creating a warm and nostalgic ambiance. The menu features a variety of tantalizing dishes such as Mandarin Beef and Kung Pao Chicken, served family-style. While the atmosphere is described as minimalistic, the food receives high praise for its excellence, making it a go-to destination for authentic Chinese cuisine.
I was here for a friend's birthday, I got to taste at least eight dishes. Everything was very well prepared, everything tasted great. This is a family run restaurant, and they care a lot about their guests experience. The atmosphere is a classic Chinese restaurant, brightly lit with beautiful brocade covers on all of the chairs. The food and service is the main focus here, and I will definitely be back soon.

Their seafood dishes is really good. Just itself I can give them 5 stars but the veggie and the beef is … hmmmm

Absolutely wonderful! The service is impeccable as well as the food. We were looking for some great Cantonese food while in from out of town and this place is 100/10 stars. Could not recommend more!

Great Peking duck. It comes with 2 courses: the crispy skin w/ steamed buns then duck stir fry w/ lettuce wraps. Both are fantastic. The Chinese broccoli and pork lo mein were both well made sides. We want to go back and try the crab special. P.s. If you don't read Chinese, use translate apps to read the special board.

The food is so good, and it doesn't have too much oil in it though. My husband doesn't usually say the food is good but he does this time. Thank you for the good food.

Good place to stop by for Chinese food, ordered the duck and was a tasty and tender, chicken feet was good, while calamari had too much flour. Overall if you’re looking for Chinese food, good place to try.

Xin Ding Dumpling House 鑫鼎轩 is a Chinese restaurant located in the old Thirsty Lion building. The restaurant offers authentic Chinese cuisine, with dishes like Kung Pao Chicken and Pork Xiao Long dumplings receiving high praise. The ambiance has a casual sports bar vibe, making it a great spot for a quick meal after outdoor activities. The portion sizes are generous, and the staff is known for being friendly and attentive.
Great authentic food! Visited with my Chinese family and we all enjoyed it. The dumplings are great but the best dish was the Dry Pot cauliflowers. Portion sizes are also generous, we ended up taking leftovers to go for dinner. Excellent and friendly service as well. Great, reliable spot for a quick but delicious meal.
Vanessa A — Google review
The establishment seems very lowkey. The bartender was our waitress but unfortunately did not check in us often. Also the other employees who delivered our food and refilled our waters were a bit standoffish. I needed sauce but since they practically ran off as soon as the fish left their hands. Unfortunately they were also not able to put Thursday Night Football on their tv and had to watch it on my phone. No big deal since it’s not a sports bar per se but still. The food was good. We got shrimp and pork dumplings, braised beef soup, combination fried rice, and fried fish. Would come back for dumplings only. Overall good.
Glenda A — Google review
I recommend the potstickers and the garlic green beans. The rest was not our preferred taste. The staff were helpful and quick. I recommend this restaurant for large parties (5-8) to singles. There is a bar and large TVs that play sports games. A few minor cleaning issues, spilled food left under my table. But other that that the large space is nice.
Christina D — Google review
We got the spicy tofu buns - these were so good, not spicy at all. The veggie and chicken dumplings were also so good. Chow mein was 10/10. Personally for all this food I think the price is fair , our waitress was really nice.
Pau R — Google review
As someone who’s traveled to China multiple times to multiple cities, I can say these are authentic flavors and dishes. Must order #1, Chongqing Chicken. Yes it’s spicy, yes your mouth is getting numb, and no you are not having an allergic reaction. That’s just the real Szechuan peppercorns doing the magic they do. Must order #2 Pork Wonton in Chili Oil. Do yourself a favor and get a side of the chili oil for an extra $2. You’ll find yourself dipping everything in it because it’s that good. Last but not least, Garlic Green Beans. A staple of better Chinese restaurants, these Green Beans are crispy and swimming in butter & garlic heaven.
James S — Google review
Warm open atmosphere even for large groups. Crab and pork bao dumplings are wonderful! Really happy with my Kung pao great flavor and generous with peanuts is a must! Everything was great except the special porks ribs with garlic was underwhelming.

We were craving soup dumplings, and this place definitely hit the spot. My family thought the wrappers could be a bit softer, but I actually really liked them. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous.

Came here for a post dinner snack - I wasn't hungry but I was in the area and heard about this place so I had to try it. I was immediately seated and the waiter recommended the pork and shrimp soup dumplings, which I ordered. They were delicious. I can't wait to come back to try more.

Clean restaurant! There's slot machine, they have pinball machine and pole table. There's an atm machine inside there for cash withdrawal. They have a bar with a variety of alcohol drink. The Chinese food is great. They do karaoke 🎤 on Saturday. Parking is free and easy to find. Employees there are neutral, no sarcastic, conceited, or bad attitude. I had a bad case of the flu for several weeks, I stopped by to have some hot and sour soup. The combination of roots, herbs & spices in that, breaks a cold down. Allowing me to sweat it out. For years I've used that Chinese soup recipe because it revitalizes my system and energized my immune system. Once again it did the trick, and it tastes fantastic. I ordered the combo plate too, absolutely wonderful. The food and service was great and being that was my first time there, I'll be back often. Now I have a Chinese restaurant to enjoy

Food is good - especially the fried rice! General’s Tso’s chicken had just the right amount of spice and was well cooked. However, while dining in, it’s worth it to note that this place is clearly more bar than restaurant, and service is a little slow and the atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired (smell of old cigarette smoke, etc). However, the bartender was very friendly and nice!

Located in the dim sum scene since late 2020, Excellent Cuisine Chinese Food Restaurant offers a mix of traditional and innovative dishes. The ha gow and siu mai are standout options, while the red rice noodle rolls with shrimp filling are a must-try. Although prices may be on the higher side, the quality and taste of the food make it worth it.
The food was delicious, so I made a special trip back for a second visit. The char siu pork 脆皮豬was crispy without any gamy taste. The turnip cake蘿蔔糕 was freshly pan-fried and seemed homemade—you could really taste the shredded radish inside. Each shrimp dumpling 蝦餃had a whole piece of shrimp and was quite large. This place is perfect for coming with a group. As for me, with my smaller appetite as a female, I ordered these dishes but ended up taking about half to two-thirds of it home.
Claire K — Google review
Wonderful dim sum. There are so many choices that you can not be disappointed. The food is hot and fresh. It rolls out on trolleys and is easily explained to you. Beautiful handmade buns and other items. We left full, and a box of goodies for later. Plus, it did not destroy our wallet.
Stacey B — Google review
The dim sum is great. It’s amongst the best in Oregon. The owners eat you the food and even somebody utensils are the same as HK Café.. This place gets crowded, but it’s totally worth it . The shrimp dumplings are packed with shrimp and not overcooked the chicken feet probably was not the freshest but everything else was fresh and very, very tasty.
Michael F — Google review
Tried this place recently and loved it! We ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings, crispy chicken, and tofu — everything was tasty and well-seasoned. The crab puffs were the highlight and so fresh. They even serve complimentary tea, which was such a nice surprise. It’s quiet inside with lots of seating, perfect for a relaxed meal. I’ll definitely be back!
Neha P — Google review
First time finally trying this spot after hearing about for ages. We came for dinner so the dim sum service wasn’t running, but we still had awesome dishes like sizzling beef and spicy garlic chicken. We were still able to order a few things from the dim sum menu like the shumai and shrimp hargow, which were some of the biggest and tastiest dumplings I’ve had in a while. Service was quick and friendly, and the decor was quite lovely. Can’t wait to return!
Christina S — Google review
Really enjoyed our visit here! We had the pepper shrimp, shrimp and pork dumplings, crispy chicken, tofu, and crab puffs — all delicious. The space is large and comfortable with private party rooms, great for big gatherings. The complimentary tea and calm atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for family dinners or group celebrations!

We found our new spot! The portions were perfect, they had it ready quickly, and everything tasted great! Not soaked with sauces, not artificial. Just great food! The only thing I'd prefer is more eco friendly packaging but that's takeout for ya!

Another local mom and pop spot located in the Eastside. The interior is spacious and the people working were friendly.  They have some lunch specials that you can get,  which is of good portion.  I ordered the Szechuan Beef over fried rice.  The dish was very flavorful.  I added a cup of egg flower, which was also good.

Wow, I didn't expect so much food for just one order. Have so much leftovers, but oh my, is it good food. I would totally go here again. The taste is sooooo mouth waterfalling. Get yours today! 😀
Joshua L — Google review
2 out of 5. The dining experience was underwhelming. While the variety of dishes looked promising, the flavors didn’t quite deliver, feeling average despite the high price. The ambiance was fine, but the lack of basic amenities—such as soap in the bathroom—took away from the overall impression. For the cost, the meal should have provided more depth in taste and a better sense of value. The Thai tea was delicious.

The Golden Garden is thus far the best Chinese restaurant I been since I moved from Santa Barbara, California to Portland…I love the Mongolia Beef, Hot and Sour Soup and Egg Rolls!! The Golden Garden interior is very nice decorated and clean, following what a Chinese restaurant is supposed to look like!! I feel like I’m in a 80’s movie set.
Bedoya R — Google review
I have been here multiple times. Coming here with a group and eating the dishes as it arrives is really a treat The food was fresh, piping hot and so well made. The serving is largish. The menu encompasses a wide range of cooking techniques. Look at the board listing the specials near the counter. They had a special that featured lobster fried rice or lobster lo mein for $19.95. A bargain. Actually, we plan to go there for dinner tonight just to splurge. The combo dry style fried rice was great as were all the five dishes we ordered. It had a smokiness that isn't often found in other restaurants. The restaurant is rather old and tired, but it's the food that.that stands out. The owner is there all the time. She covers all roles, lol. I will update later tonight after dinner.
Maria H — Google review
Between me and some friends but close to $70, food was absolutely horrible sesame chicken drowned in sauce. How's chow mein was disgusting, barbecue pork so dry. The crab puffs with the only thing that were edible, and I will say that those were some of the best I've ever had. But literally everything else a few bites we're taking out of and thrown away

I've visited this place many times, it's been good until this last visit. The shrimp this time were not fresh: mushy flesh and slight foul odor. The fried rice felt like they rushed it. "No heart," is how my partner put it. They used over cooked fresh rice and mashed it to hell, so it was crumbly; used Spam as the meat, and had barely any Dragon's breath. The vermicelli was over-cooked, had the texture of soft gelatin. The fried chicken was the best part: tangy and peppery. We did go during their lunch (around 2pm PST) So I feel like they rushed the order so the chef could eat. Either way, no excuse to the poor quality shrimp...
David C — Google review
My friend recommended this place and to our surprise, it was very good. Service was great, very friendly and fast. If you have a large party, try the house special wood bucket fish soup. We also ordered the dry cooked string beans, eggplant tofu, the traditional sweet and sour spare ribs. Another good one is the toothpicks lamb plus the black pepper beef.
J L — Google review
Authentic Sichuan Chinese food. Service was fast and attentive. There are lots of menu options, all of which are pretty expensive. The flavor is wonderful. The owners seemed anxious for us to eat and closed right when we left. But, So delicious!

Discovered this place recently and turned out to be good one. Great food and pretty generous portions. Will come back as I want to try other food on the menu.
Avinash — Google review
The food is overall ok, but not meet our expectations considering the taste and price. The cabbage is a bit oily. The pork stomach with pepper taste slightly sweet, not spicy enough. There is not too much fish fillet inside the soup considering it is $55 dish.
Chunjiao X — Google review
Four of us went out to dinner in a Friday evening. They had a few other diners in the restaurant. The ambiance is clean and Spartan. The service was fast. We ordered three meals, family style. The shrimp chow mein and beef broccoli were amazing. The shrimp especially was crispy and fried but didn't have heavy breading or anything. The whole experience would have been worth it just for the shrimp The beef broccoli was standard in texture but had a great balance of beef with broccoli. The sauce was strong with ginger and was delicious. The third dish, garlic spare ribs tasted okay and the coating was crisp and light. However, the meat was tough and rubbery. We definitely didn't finish that dish and it was not a good choice. The cost was reasonable for what we ordered and the portions were adequate to feed us all - even without eating the spare ribs. Overall, I'd love to try this restaurant again, just some more dishes.

Tasty Corner Chinese Restaurant is a new addition to the Portland State University neighborhood, offering a menu with a strong focus on Sichuan cuisine. The restaurant provides an extensive lunch special menu and features must-try dishes such as deep-fried shrimp with crab roe and lamb spicy dry pot with cauliflower and celery. One of their specialties is the spicy knife-cut noodles, which are hard to find elsewhere. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, providing authentic Chinese food without any fusion elements.
The good stuff. They absolutely crush it when it comes to Sichuan food. Everything's got the right type of spices, the quantities are large, and prices affordable. They do a vegetarian mapo tofu that is delicious with rice, and the Sichuan cold noodles (also vegetarian) are delectable. Service is quick and there's no wait even on the weekends. For a party of two, we had plenty of leftovers and enjoyed them the next day. Will definitely be back to try other dishes!

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants shut down. Before they closed, they recommended Tasty Corner. First visit hooked me with the food. By the second visit they already recognized me and my wife and recommended a new dish for us to try (which was stellar - chicken stir fry with peppers). Third visit they had my drink order memorized and knew us by name. We now come here every week, and every time they have new dish recommendations that are A+. Tasty Corner is the best of food and service.

My friend and I had dinner here at around 5:10 PM yesterday. We were seated right away. I got the hot and spicy house with beef which was savory and tasty. The onions were too bitter for me. I like slightly firm veggies, but not onions. I like them to be cooked throughly. Never tried hand shaven noodles before but I really liked the texture. It was almost like thick ramen noodles. Reasonable price for a big portion. I almost left some food. My friend did. The restaurant looked clean, but there were some tiny food debris here and there on my side in our booth. And of course like other restaurants in Portland, there was a fly. What disgusted me was the menu. Their menu inside weren't laminated so it had mold along the edge. Good thing I had disinfecting wipes with me. I hope they replace with laminated ones soon.

DELICIOUS we had Szechuan beef brisket noodle soup and Chong Qing chicken. Don’t come here without getting the chicken, it was life changing. Kept us warm in the cold rain. Saw that this place was ranked on several lists of ‘Best Chinese Food in Oregon’ so decided to come here. It was alright, nothing mind blowing. Taste of Sichuan is a cozy Chinese restaurant located in downtown Portland, offering a laid-back dining experience. We had lunch at Sichuan Tastes and ordered the kung pao chicken and Mongolian chicken. Each meal came with a soup, rice, and a vegetable roll. While the food was just average, the portion sizes were very generous. The restaurant was very clean, and having a clean restroom was a definite plus.

I stumbled upon this place while visiting Portland from Seattle. We ordered: Sichuan Popcorn Chicken (highly recommended! It wasn’t too salty, and everything was perfect!) ✅✅✅ Pickled Fish Soup (酸菜鱼) (it reminded me of my mom’s cooking—so good! The soup blended perfectly with the fish.) ✅✅✅ Soup Dumplings (小笼包) (the skin was a bit too hard to bite) ❌❌❌ Rice (it was slightly undercooked, in my opinion) 🙅❌❌❌ To-go: Dried Beef (干锅肥牛) (I haven’t tried this one yet but will update soon.) The service was fine, typical of a regular Chinese restaurant. However, we felt a bit awkward when the server mentioned that the tip wasn’t included in the bill and hoped we would leave one. In my culture, that’s considered rude since tipping is optional. We already knew the tip policy from the receipt.
Beatrix C — Google review
This place is the most authentic Sichuan restaurant I have had privilege at eating at in the PNW, outside of Myth in Richmond, B.C. Indeed, whenever I am in a larger city, I look for a place that makes Tengjiaoyu (green Sichuan pepper fish). This spicy and numbing dish alone was worth the three hour drive to Portland! We also ordered soup dumplings, pork fried rice, dry fried string beans, Dan Dan noodles, General Tso, Sichuan Pork Wonton w.Chili Oil, & Sichuan Popcorn Chicken. Every dish was absolutely superb. I wish I was in town for a couple more days so I can try the dry pot Frog. It was very clear that the food was prepared freshly. I will be back!
Sarai W — Google review
Disappointed. I ordered the spicy dry pot stir fried pork intestine. It wasn't spicy. I should've asked for extra spicy because this sichuian place is americanized/ appeals to the portland palette. Usually the dish has stir fried bell pepper, a little onion, sometimes celery. This had potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower. Huhh? Would've been forgivable if it was actually spicy and numbing! There also wasn't a lot of meat in the nearly $20 dish- lots of filler between the broccoli, cauliflower, potato and celery. Def avoid if you want authentic Sichuan SPICY intestine stir fry. The young woman as the server/cashier was very nice ! Perhaps their other dishes are good?
Keke S — Google review
Very tasty food and food was served fast. Spicy is set just right - enough to tingle the tongue, but not hide the flavor of the food. The Spicy fried fish was not over battered with a delightful crunch. The twice cooked pork belly is like how bacon should be cooked. The only shame is that they do not have chow fun which would really compliment it. Price is reasonable, and bubble teas are way cheaper than most but still tasty. Will definitely return to try out more!
Will H — Google review
Food was incredible. The spicy clams dish had sauce that was so tasty and delicious. I did not eat the clams as I don't enjoy the taste, however I loved the sauce. Everything was fresh and delicious. The noodles were spicy and tasty, and the vegetables fried rice was good. The spicy oyster was worth the drive from Seattle to Portland.

I have a great appreciation for Szechuan. It's my favorite style of Chinese food. I'm really glad I tried Sichuan Taste. The food is fantastic and it's a very reasonable price. I had the Kung Pao chicken which is the best I've had in a long time. My son ordered Mongolian chicken. Both were from the lunch menu. He also had a cup of hot & sour soup, which he said was just ok. This is an excellent restaurant. The only difficulty is finding parking. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. ✌🏼

Food was delicious! The roasted duck was perfect, super crispy on the outside and the meat itself melts like butter in your mouth. Service was super quick, too. Will definitely return whenever I’m craving duck over rice.
Genesis G — Google review
The noodle soup doesn't come with wonton, so it costs extra to add it. The bowl of noodles itself was a small serving for the cost, and the amount of roasted pork we got in it was also minimal. The broth was seafood-y, I didn't care for it. They provide soy sauce, vinegar, white pepper, and chili oil. We also ordered beef brisket and roast duck with rice, and I also don't think it's worth $17. The duck had decent flavor, but the brisket wasn't flavorful. I don't think we'll actually come back.

Not pictured but my family also tried their roast duck rice plate and ginger chicken. They said both were delicious! Service was quick and great. Downside is the small parking area but overall a fantastic restaurant and will return to try other dishes!

Whole in the wall secret spot for amazing Cantonese BBQ. The duck and various kinds of roasted pork are fresh and well-made. Service is casual but attentive. I ordered a roasted duck and cuttlefish ball with rice noodles and it was really good. Their soy milk, grease stick, and rice dishes are also quite satisfying. No fancy ambience, only solid cooking. 99% of customers are Asian.

I knew i was in the right place when i saw all the delicious ducks and brisket hanging in the window. Fastest service i have ever had at any restaurant, ever! Great tea. The soup was so good. I got the 4 pork buns and my wife got a two meat combo with noodles and bok choy. The brisket has a unique and wonderful flavor. The bbq pork is juicy and a delight. Next time i will bring home a roast duck! Thank you!!!

Ordered the wonton noodle with pork trotter. Had the BBQ pork and roast pork belly to go. Hits the spot, all of them. Pork trotter was stewed to perfection, soft but not too soft and well seasoned. The skin on the roast pork is amazingly crispy. It’s crunchy, not hard or over roasted. So glad this is close to home.

This is a new restaurant recently opened in the Portland area. It is great to see more authentic Chinese restaurants serving the Asian population who crave for traditional Chinese congees and noodle bowls. The workers speak Cantonese so it was a good sign. I was kind of satisfied with the noodle overall. I would give them a 3.5 stars for the noodle bowls and an extra 0.5 star for their good service. When BBQ is part of their restaurant name, I had high hope on their quality of the BBQ meats. I also noticed that they have recently increased their pricing too when compared to the old photos of the menus posted by our wonderful Yelp community members. There is now only one pricing for one size of the noodle bowls. I don't know if it was a good idea. I did notice that the pricing is now $2 more for any 2 choices of meat option. Overall I think their noodle bowls are a half star better than competitor Kenney's Noodle House. It is always disappointing to have NO vegetables in the bowl. Is it becoming a trend to not offering vegetables? I saw that Fortune BBQ is charging extra $2 for vegetables, very disappointing. My husband ordered wonton and BBQ duck noodle soup $16 and I had dumpling noodle soup $13. I was very happy with their large dumplings with at least 2 medium shrimps in each dumpling. Other ingredients were crunchy with chinese mushrooms, very good. The flavors were on point. My husband got three wontons and 5 pieces of duck. Their display case showed beautifully cooked ducks that were meaty. Their BBQ pork also looked very nice and juicy. However, I was disappointed that the duck pieces tasted a bit metallic. I can't complain how meaty the duck pieces were. I won't recommend BBQ duck at this restaurant. If we go back to this restaurant again, we will try their BBQ pork instead. The wontons were fine but smaller than the dumplings which was expected. I prefer their dumplings over the wontons. The broth was okayed but lack the depth. It seems that my dumpling broth may have augmented with seasonings. The noodle was pretty good and was not overcooked. I would have given their noodle soup higher rating if it weren't for the lack of vegetable and high pricing.

Fried Egg I'm In Love is a popular food truck known for its elevated breakfast sandwiches served on toasted sourdough bread. The food truck is located at the Cart Blocks food-cart pod, making it convenient for those exploring the Pearl District, Old Town, Chinatown, and downtown Portland. While parking may be a bit challenging at their brick and mortar location on Hawthorne, the lines move quickly and diners can grab a table to enjoy their meal.
We stopped by Fried Egg I’m In Love and were seriously impressed! We ordered the Vegan and the Sara, and it was packed with flavor—definitely not your average breakfast sandwich. The avocado was a perfect blend with the cheese. On top of that, the customer service was amazing—the guy was super friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. Great food, great vibes. We’ll definitely be back!

We take all our out-of-town visitors here. Delicious egg sandwiches with the local flavor of Pioneer Square. This past Saturday we treated our nephew to gourmet egg sandwiches from a food truck, something he's not seen in the Midwest (gourmet anything from a food truck). As we sat waiting in the shade upon chairs provided by IKEA, we listened to the dulcet sounds of the city... the gentle fluttering chorus of coos and clucks of the city pigeons was layered with tinny christian music emanating from a box truck parked in the center of the square. The band was promoting something called Heaven to Earth and its members all stood sweating, crammed in the open box save the drummer, who somehow earned a spot on the paver bricks where he could at least feel the breeze. All of this was punctuated by the shrieks of a woman doing her best to evade a small fleet of security personnel bedecked in bright yellow vests... She came around Starbucks from the North, wailed a hasty retreat, then cut straight through the center of everything, pausing her screams just long enough to hurl an insult toward the box truck full of Christians... Ah, Portland in the summer! Anyway, the sandwiches were the bomb. Can't wait until our next visitors give us another excuse to dine here again! If you're eating it on the road I recommend passing on the delicious pesto... it gets oily and messy to eat. However, if you have the time to sit and eat with a pile of napkins at hand the pesto is well worth the mess!

Apparently, food carts are very popular in Portland, and a friend recommended we try Fried Egg for breakfast. When we arrived, there was already a short line, always a good sign. We placed our order, and while it took a little time for the food to come out, it wasn’t too long. Unfortunately, there was no seating area nearby, so we took our order back to the hotel to eat. The sandwiches were delicious and absolutely worth both the price and the short wait.

Such a great find. Our daughter swore about this place and she didn't miss. We got three different sandwiches. The smells like protein spirit. Which comes on toasted sourdough, fried egg, Tillamook cheese and protein choice. Huevo mutilation sandwich comes on sourdough, fried egg, smashed sausage patty with caramelized onions aardvark aioli. So good and must try. My daughter got the vegetarian patty sandwich. If you're looking to get coffee they don't serve it here but there are numerous places near by that do.

Agree with everything that has been said. Food truck is serving delicious breakfast sandwiches. Got the Yolko Zeppelin and loved it. The pesto has a little kick which was a nice surprise. Travels well to as I was able to carry to the Saturday Market and sandwich was still fresh.

We got the Sriracha sandwich and the Huevo Mutilation sandwich and both were 10/10!! This food truck is super busy, we waited around 20 minutes for the food but super worth the wait. There are brick steps all around the food truck that you can sit and eat.

A special little surprise in the park in a bright yellow trailer! At first I thought they were unexpectedly closed as I got there at 8am, but they were running a bit late and opened at 8:03. I was first in line and glad I waited! I ordered two Yokeo Onos and they were nothing like we’ve had before. Greg food and friendly service. Keep it up!

Jade Rabbit at The Emerald Room in Portland, Oregon offers a delectable array of handmade dim sum, including the must-try chili oil wontons that are filled with meatless pork and beef, enveloped in a delicate wrapper, and topped with hot chili oil, garlic, and cilantro. This spot is known for its wide variety of authentic offerings without hidden meat or fish.
One of my favorite restaurants in the Portland metro area. I have only received exceptional service from their staff. The staff here actively participate in your dining experience. All staff are highly knowledgeable of menu items and their recipes. If you have dietary restrictions, you will never feel more cared for and prioritized. The dishes are exquisite. Every. single. One! I have never been disappointed and their drinks are paired perfectly to the menu’s diverse flavor profiles. I am not a vegan or vegetarian and Jade Rabbit helped me understand you can feel sustained and satisfied with vegan/vegetarian meals. They have expanded my palate exponentially.
Matt M — Google review
This place is such a good vibe. The atmosphere and presentation were delightful and welcoming, as was the food and drink. However, it did seem a little lacking in flavor on some items and not others. The prices reflect quality ingredients however and that was apparent. The vegan pork, chicken, and beef were delicious, as was the chili oil. It just seemed to be missing a little bit of the kick (perhaps umami is what I am thinking), but was still very comforting. The chili oil will creep up on you in spice (which we loved). We thought the 22% gratuity (split among all hourly employees) was a smart move. The staff seemingly doesn’t babysit their tables, which I actually appreciated, but if you expect hovering service, this isn’t the place so be aware before you go and approach with understanding. We also loved how they included on their menu an ask that patrons not assume gender identity or ethnicity of staff. This place is a great asset to the community and we will be back! 🐇
Kelly C — Google review
We got the Mami Noodle Soup, Fiery Wind Soup, and the fried wontons. The noodles had a great chew and the flavors of both soups were excellent. The fried wontons were good too and had a nice crunch. I would love the option of having tofu be a possible alternative for the mock meat because sometimes the texture can be too real for me. We absolutely will be back though to try more options in the future!
Meghan H — Google review
Excellent snd adorable menu. I’ve had the bao buns from here shaped like bunnies - too cute, but today I got the World Vegan Month Special - the Faux-Squid Calamari and the chickk’n ramen. Both were flavorful and delicious. The calamari was crispy and a little spicy. My only complaint is they served it with too many jalapeños for my taste. I love sitting outside on a sunny day, but if it’s raining, they have a cozy wood stove inside that makes for the perfect fall/winter vibe in Portland.
Ardie F — Google review
EXTREMELY disappointing. Would absolutely not recommend or return. We had a reservation (so I know exactly what time we arrived) and were starving, which made us really excited to try this place. Unfortunately, it was a letdown across the board. Atmosphere The space is small and cozy but lacks a clear identity. You can spot several different Asian influences, but there isn’t a strong point of view tying it together. There’s a back dining room separated from the front by the bar. The space is clean and does give a bit of an “at home” feeling, which I liked. Service The customer service was honestly the only redeeming part. I didn’t catch her name, but the tall server with the cool hairstyle was working the entire front of house when we arrived. She was greeting guests, running the bar, and managing tables for the back and front dining rooms. She was friendly, calm the entire time, and professional, but clearly stretched thin. To no fault of hers, we ended up waiting 25 minutes just to place our order (again, with a reservation). At that time, there was only one other table of two in the front and no one at the bar. Eventually, she got some backup, but the wait really set the tone. Food This was the most disappointing part. With the steep prices and amazing food photos online, we expected a great meal. They were out of the adobo (the dish I was most excited for), so I ordered the mapo tofu. The food came out surprisingly fast considering how long it took us to place the order (about 15 minutes), and everything looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the taste didn’t match the presentation. We ordered ($75 which includes 22% service fee): - Turnip cakes: the only decent dish, mostly thanks to the sauce, since the cakes themselves were bland. - Kimchi mung bean pancakes: bland, and the sauce was so salty it was inedible, leaving us with plain pancakes. - Mapo tofu: tasted like it was just dusted with five spice and nothing else. Bland and very flat. - Lo mei gai: again, bland and disappointing. - Pandan carrot cake: good flavor but served cold and very hard (I even took a video to demonstrated how hard it was but Google won't allow me to upload it 🙄). Overall Between the high prices, under-seasoned food, slow service (despite the server doing her best), and a mandatory 22% service fee, this was a bad experience. Never again.
Trey R — Google review
I was disappointed with my experience there. The white rabbit buns were good but the rest just didn’t meet expectations. Green jade buns fell apart easily, the tofu bowl was dry and had one note of strong Szechuan seasoning. The dark side noodle was still hard and had picked veggie on the side that’s in large chunks (like it’s straight out of a supermarket pickled mustard green) and salty. I like the lotus wrapped rice except there was a strong piece of ginger and took over the entire flavor profile. Mung bean pancake we didn’t even eat it was thin, dry, and hard. They charge 22 percent on the check instead of asking for a tip but was understaffed. Had a hard time getting service. The restaurant was cold. I did love the hot sauce at the table very much.
Wanda W — Google review
Jade rabbit was a really fun experience. My sister in law is vegan and gluten free and I loved that we could go somewhere where she could eat about half of the menu or more. The tea was phenomenal, super great selection if you genuinely love getting into unique and tasty teas, the food was also very good, I think the overall crowd favorite of everyone ended up being the creme brulee dessert. The crispy calamari was to die for and genuinely made me feel like I was eating calamari. We will definitely be back in the future!
Jessica S — Google review
Really disappointed, I would have given a 5 stars, as I do reviews on a regular. 2 things are which cause me to give a 2 star rating First issue was the 22% gratuity, I usually am a good tipper 25%/30% provided its warranted. When a restaurant demands or stipulates there is a mandatory 22% gratuity its a turn off, if we were not with friends, I would have left, a tip is something earned and considered our meal was $200 for the few dishes we had pretty spendy for a place that has a mediocre atmosphere, not a high quality restaurant. 2nd issue, our reservations were 6pm, and we were seated promptly, which was nice, the issue is we had been there only about 1hr 15 minutes, just finished my last bite and lady came over and said "not to rush you, however we do have another table coming in in 10 minutes", what! We just spent almost $250 with mandatory 22% tip and to be made to feel we had to leave was a big turn off! So definitely not coming back even thought the food was amazing. Really sad to have that type of experience for the price

Pelmeni Pelmeni is a popular food cart located in the Hawthorne Asylum pod in Portland, offering delicious Slavic dumplings filled with chicken or beef and topped with sour cream, ketchup, and fresh dill. The portions are generous and can be enjoyed under cover on rainy days or by the fire on cold days. Customers can also get their orders to-go and explore nearby historic Ladds Addition. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is known for being friendly.
Was super stoked to try this place and it did not disappoint. Located in a central part of Portland in an enclave of other food trucks, it was super easy to find and we ordered relatively quickly on a rainy afternoon here in Portland. The person behind the counter was super nice and we received our food relatively quickly. Everything was absolutely delicious, from the potato dumplings to the sweet cheese dumplings, to the borscht. My god the borscht was unbelievable. It was a huge helping And just so flavorful and perfect for a cold rainy day here in Portland. You need to get the borscht! Overall, this was a wonderful experience and I would be happy to eat here again for my next visit in Portland. Thank you so much, Pelmeni Pelmeni!

Absolutely loved this pelmeni spot. You can tell the food is made with love and passion. I haven’t had pelmeni dressed the way they made them and very much liked it. The sweet and the savory. The savory ones were so so good.

The sweet ones were extra tasty but the quantity is large so make sure to have someone to share with :)
Matthew P — Google review
I’ve been here twice now and love the food. The pelmeni has a great texture and I like ordering this with all the toppings. The cold sour cream, sauce, and scallions are a great complement to the pelmeni. If you like spicy, be sure to add the hot sauce when you pick up your food. I’ve ordered the small and large chicken pelmeni from here. I actually prefer the small size because it seems to have a better ratio between toppings and pelmeni.
J. L — Google review
These dumplings are amazing. I usually get the chicken dumplings. Toss your dumplings around and spread the toppings & tomato sauce evenly for best taste!

Solid pelmeni. But $16 for a “large” but actually quite a small bowl is a little insane. I suggest going to nearby Eastern European grocery stores and buying them in bulk instead.

Tried the Potato Vareniki — they were light, soft, and melt-in-your-mouth tasty. Service was very fast. Nothing mind-blowing, but a good, comforting bite if you're craving dumplings or something quick and satisfying.

Really, really good. Warm, filling, and fresh. I got the potato vareniki and it was so delicious — topped with a tomatoey sauce, sour cream, and fresh dill. The dumplings were perfectly chewy and soft, and the whole dish was delivered steaming hot. The woman was also very kind. Never had anything quite like it — I will definitely be back!

Nestled in Southeast Harrison, Pot & Spicy is a must-visit for anyone craving the unique flavors of chuan chuan xiang, a delightful skewer-based dish that hails from Chengdu. As you step inside this cozy spot, you'll be greeted by an impressive display of skewers featuring an array of ingredients like fish balls, oyster mushrooms, pork belly, quail eggs, lotus roots, shrimp, and octopus.
Excellent spot with great flavors and a taste of something different than you’re used to. It’s pretty unclear unless you’ve been there before I guess but you grab a few skewers of whatever you want and they’ll either fry or boil them for you. If you get them boiled you get a bowl of delightful broth with some kind of noodles or rice. The fried skewers just come with some sweet pepper sauce. All in all this place was a great surprise. I went here because another place was closed and I’m glad I did because I’ll be back!

Came here on a Wednesday night. Small little place in a mini mall. The lotus root appetizer was great! Love the flavor. The spicy beef appetizer was decent, nice flavor and not too spicy. The deep fried skewers were good, I liked that they had different spices for different skewers. The boiled skewers were pretty good too, the soup wasn't too spicy and the noodles were good. The beef hot pot was alright, wasn't my favorite but not bad. The waitress was nice. The lemon water carafe was a nice touch. 3.5/5.
Jeff N — Google review
Service are nicer than average Chinese restaurants definitely, give a point for that. 3.5 with rounding. The taste of food is normal I definitely have tried better one in other place, but the thing is the more you eat, the more you feel actually it’s pretty good. It’s what I may come back once or twice if I live nearby. This type of restaurant it’s not a lot in Oregon, give a credit for that. But the food could be expensive, I really consider for 3 star but yeah, still pretty good tho😬
Jay C — Google review
It's a small place but it's amazing! I love how you get to pick which skewers you want and can have it fried or in a broth. If you have more than 6 skewers and you want it in a broth, you get free noodles! The broth is so flavorful! If you get it fried, it's fried in a batter that's also very flavorful.

Around 20 USD each person dining in - Good food for this price. The fried skewers are even better than spicy pots. Would Iike to give 4.5 stars - not great variety of skewers to choose from

The skewers are where the fun and value are. Come here with a big group and go to the back to get a grab bag of skewers to have served fried up or in a nice hot soup. Prices are fair and there are good noodle dishes to complement.

Yums! Fun little place for some choice skewers. There's the basic chicken, beef and pork belly skewers. Throw in some intestines, tripe, gizzards and other offals. There's tofu, shrimp and fishballs. Order a few side appetizers - namely the lotus salad. Then choose your broth of choice, (we had the spicy broth). Or have those little morsels panko breaded and deep fried. Eat a lot or a few. It's a tasty experience you will do over and over again. And the cute little gal serving us was so nice and helpful! Highly recommended!

Despite the modest size of the establishment, the food is described as amazing and worth trying.

I have eaten at Wan Q since they were at the original location Ive tried giving them chances because it used to be so good. After today we are done, food is just not good, prices are higher and portions small. My husband found plastic in his fried rice. Sad
Laurie M — Google review
The food was awful. The flavors made no sense. I had orange chicken which was not flavored, not enough seasoning, not orange, and kind of a ball of mush and kung pao chicken which did not taste right and barely had any chicken. There are a lot of good chinese places around, I hoped I could stumble into one that was near my child's baseball practice. I should have gone to a better spot. Also, it was too expensive. They must make their money on lottery or something. Terrible food.
James J — Google review
I started going to the Wan-Q Lounge at its current location a few years ago to spend time with friends. The service from the bar has gone significantly downhill in that time, as they can't keep a decent bartender on staff. Brawls & fights are happening more often. The community mural has been wallpapered over. Now it's just another hole-in-the-wall with video poker & a couple pool tables. Visit if you don't mind waiting 30 minutes to get overpriced food or drink...and do cash as you go, or it might take 30 minutes to actually pay a tab.

Never have a normal menu, walk in for dinner and it's all happy hour fried stuff. Chinese food isn't even comparable unfortunately. Garbage and grease traps overflowing in the back. You go there for a last resort drink.

Little hidden gem is definitely how I would describe it. Food was amazing! If you are the needy customer type that expect them to be at your table checking on you every few minutes and rushing to get you something then the place is not for you. I would not say they have terrible service, the staff is just very small as it was literally the waitress and cook there on a Saturday night but the food is worth it, atmosphere is quaint (I hate loud restaurants where you cant think) and staff is nice. Customers have praised the top-notch service provided by the staff, making the dining experience exceptional. Visitors also appreciate the authentic western style Hong Kong cafe food, with dishes like baked fried rice bringing back good memories for some.
The restaurant is simple yet has a clean and tidy, bright atmosphere with a pay-first style. We had Honey Garlic Chicken Wings, Scrambled Eggs with Pork Chop, and Spicy Pork Belly. Both the chicken and thinly sliced pork were flavorful and well-marinated, and the eggs paired perfectly with the seasoned rice and pork chop. The portions were generous, and although we intended to leave some, we ended up finishing everything. The owner was friendly and pleasant. I'd love to try other dishes here.🤤

I love this place.... So glad I found it. I am kind of a creature of habit and always order the Black Pepper Chicken. It is so delicious I think about it when I'm nowhere near the place. Nice portion. Super fresh and flavorful. Always nice staff and reasonable prices make it a great lunch spot. I just love it and want to make sure this place has enough business to stick around. One tiny caveat...there are never more than one or two people working at once so if it is busy, waiting time can be a little long. Since I only have a 30 minute lunch I have tried to call ahead and order, but that has never worked out as no one seems to answer the phone when I have tried this. Not sure what's going on there, but the food is worth a bit of a wait. Check it out!

We decided to try Jong Can for takeout after work today, and we were pleasantly surprised. The place was clean and modern, the man who took our order at the front was really nice, everything was reasonably priced, the food came out pretty quick - long enough to let us know they were making our food to order, but quick enough to be a good takeout place - and the food was delicious. We got black soy chow mein, cashew shrimp, and spicy pork belly. Everything tasted fresh and not overly oily. We'll definitely be going back.

Like being taken back to Changsha, Hunan! I had the stir fried pork with peppers and it was a little different than Qing Jiao Chou Rou, but I could taste it's DNA! The addition of cabbage was great, I didn't hate the bell peppers when I usually do and the spice and oil was less than what I remember from China, but they've turned it from a meat main designed for large family dining situation in a Chinese family restaurant into a complete meal for one and I just really enjoyed this place! Don't sleep on it! Feels pretty new and I am going to come back frequently!! Honestly my only gripe is I wish there was a way to get a small side of their vegetables dishes to balance out my meal and that's such a small gripe. I've never found a Chinese stir fry place in PDX that I loved before but this place was love at first bite!

The Chow Mein and Pepper-Salt Chicken are particularly popular, with heaping portion sizes and delicious flavors. Authentic literal mom and pop home cooking. The special stir fried dry Noodle was literal comfort food, packed with flavor and large hits of meat and shrimp. The mapo tofu was a little over sauced but it sure went down nicely with the fried rice. The portions are awesome and the price point is perfect. No frills, authentic home cooking! It is next to a circle of food trucks with available outside seating. Short walk from powell's.

This place is fantastic! Super nice folks working the little place. A lot of food for a killer price and it was super flavorful. Made fresh to order and the lady chatted with me while I waited after noticing that I was reading a book about Jackie Chan. She thought that was pretty cool , so was making hilarious karate action moves and noises. Come out to Portland frequently, so can say with 100% confidence I’ll be back.

I love this place! Years ago, I smelled someone’s food when they were walking by. I asked where it was from and here we are! The nicest Asian couple run this cart. I always feel better after grabbing some Beijing chicken and going home to curl up with some YouTube. I hope they stay or maybe expand to a brick and mortar,.. as I’ll be devastated if they ever leave. (As so many of my fav Asian food carts have over the years)

Great little place. Classic yummy American Chinese food. Obsessed with the sesame beef. So good, nice big portions.

One of the best Chinese food carts in the Portland area. 5 start review.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - surprisingly impressed by this food truck! We ordered a Pepper-Salt Chicken (#5) and a House Special Chicken Spicy (#10) and both came with a scoop of white rice and brown rice. Very generous serving, seasoned well, and delicious overall. The pepper-salt chicken was wok fried on the spot but was a bit dry. However, the flavor was wonderful! The House special was a coated chicken in a slightly sweet and spicy sauce with carrots, onions, bell peppers, and mushroom. Amazing flavor again and quite an intense kick. Ambience: n/a - food truck that looks clean and neat but the surrounding area didn’t feel the best. There were a few police that showed up on either side to speak with the people spread around the sidewalks. Service: 5/5 - attentive and quick to service. An older man drove up a few minutes after we placed our order to cook the salt and pepper chicken on a wok! Value for price: 5/5 - yummy food, generous portions, reasonable price. Absolutely loved it and would want to try other dishes!

Every single time I come here to pick up an order for Doordash, I always have to wait. Adjust the setting in your tablet so drivers get there they dont have to wait so long. Were just trying to pay our bills and we dont get paid any extra to wait for an order to be finished.

Best choice for downtown Chinese food! Delicious and filling portions. So many options for a little food cart. It’s hard to choose, and the family staff is so nice! Love the Orange Chicken and Lo Mein. Can’t wait to go back next time for Won Ton soup and BBQ Pork Fried Rice.

Indian restaurant
In downtown Portland, amidst the bustling food carts, Best Taste of India stands out with its delectable offerings. The $10 Chicken lunch special is a steal, featuring Tikka masala, samosa, rice, dal and naan. The saag paneer impresses with its perfect balance of creaminess and authentic flavors. Additionally, the Vegetable Samosa delights with its fresh ingredients and mild Indian sauce. This food cart is definitely worth a visit for an authentic taste of India in Portland.
I was walking through the Portland Saturday Market today and happened upon the Best Taste of India food cart and had to try the Samosa. I ordered the 2 Vegetable Samosa and so loved the freshness and the flavors. Fantastic crispy outside filled with potatoes and peas in a mild Indian sauce. They were so yummy good with the dipping sauce that I had to use a fork. Amazing.
Jamie W — Google review
The worst samosa I have had! Clearly the dough used for it wasn’t the right one. It was dripping with oil, the oil kind of seeped in through and it was completely undercooked from inside.
Shraddha J — Google review
All food served hot, service good. Chicken Tikka Masala was a weird shade of yellow rather than the usual red from tomatoes and cream. No significant flavor, and tastes excessively creamy. Chicken meat tacky to the tooth, quite overdone. Sister in law said Amy's frozen curries tasted better. TJs as well. Garlic Naan is reasonable. A bit thin, more like a tortilla. Taste was good. Rice well prepared. Overall would not return for the value received.

Ordered the Chicken Goa Curry, it was excellent! Serving size was great, very satisfying. Will surely come back on next visit to try more of their other dishes.

Just happened to come across their place while walking around downtown. There are several food carts around, so it was a tough choice but ended up going here. Wanted to try something else, but their special was a $10 Chicken lunch with Tikka masala, samosa, rice, dal and naan. It’s a really good deal and the quantity was sufficient. The taste was amazing! I understand why they’d give us just white rice but I wish it was biryani rice. The curries were pretty quite good, and loved dipping the bread in them. The people working there were friendly too!

I am currently sitting in the food truck park/beer garden. If I eat any more I will potentially die. This is the best Indian food I have ever consumed in my entire life and I have had a lot of Indian food. I am going to cry. I ordered paneer tikka masala with rice, garlic naan, and a rose drink. I am devastated that I live three hours away because I would camp out here every day if I could. There were cucumber slices in the rice!!! I’m not kidding, I need to emphasize how good this food is. My compliments, praise, and tears of joy to the chef. Thank you so much for this incredible eating experience.
Danny M — Google review
My only complaint about this place is that once I start eating I cannot stop until it is all gone. After a hard day at work, my mind and body are always restored. I'm so happy to have found this cart ❤️
Brandon O — Google review
Absolutely LOVE the food and mango lassi, BUT they’re RARELY open when we go despite their hours saying they’re open. The first time I noticed it was during the holidays, but I just excused it because a lot of places were closed during the holidays but now in August and it never changes. It is a consistent issue. One time their window was open slightly and we asked if they were open, they said no, and then close the window/door. So we’re very confused. They’re very nice too when it’s open but wth? If you get the chance, and they are ACTUALLY open, I highly suggest saag paneer and mango lassi.

First time having dim sum, great experience. I'll definitely be having it again! -jellyfish -chicken feet -pork shortrib -turnip cakes -sugar cane shrimp -spring rolls -broccoli I can't remember the other few things we ordered.

This has been a go to business lunch location more many months. The food is excellent! They have a nice variety on the menu preparation of the food is authentic. My favorites are all of the pepper seafood (fish and shrimp) dishes! The decor wont inspire, what my wife might call a "hole in the wall". Look past that. Just enjoy the great food.
Noah B — Google review
The food is great. The prices are great and the atmosphere is cheesy and awesome. They are all givens. What makes this place truly 'best ever' is in the service. There is a woman who works here who is attentive, fun, kind and is truly amazing! She even remembered when my friend had left his glasses...ALMOST 8 MONTHS LATER! How is that for service??
