Restaurant
The Black Pearl is a renowned waterfront establishment in Newport, known for its nautical-themed decor and delectable seafood. The venue features an atmospheric wharf bar and a formal restaurant, offering a famous creamy New England-style clam chowder and refreshing drinks like ice-cold mudslides and frozen dark 'n' stormies on tap. Visitors can enjoy the best bar seats on the bustling waterfront patio at Bannister's Wharf next to the boat docks.
The restaurant is really nice, we sat on the terrace. If you visit Newport is a great place to go. The food is good. The clam chowder is good not so heavy and has a lot of dill in it! The mussels were great, but the sauce is to die for it. The shrimp past is delicious.

Me and my friends got a table by walking up, had to wait an hour, go sat inside which is very small. We waited quite a long time for our food and for the bill which really irritates me. I ordered a raspberry mojito and that was terrible, one of the worst I've had, thank god the food was good. Overall the clam chowder is a thin brothered one which I don't really enjoy but there were a lot of clams which made it better. I also got the cod over rice which was surprisingly really good.
ELOCIN R — Google review
We chose The Black Pearl because of its great Google reviews, without realizing how iconic it actually is in Newport. Their clam chowder is truly outstanding—later I found out it’s even sold canned in local shops, which makes total sense because it’s that good. The oysters were excellent as well. The lobster roll, on the other hand, didn’t really convince me. It was served in a croissant instead of the classic hot dog–style bun I’m used to from Boston. Maybe it’s a local twist, but I personally didn’t love it. Prices seemed fair overall. What I didn’t quite get was why they served my wine in a plastic cup on the outdoor terrace. We weren’t at a pool, and we weren’t so close to the water that it would’ve been necessary. The atmosphere is extremely busy, especially at dinner time. The day I went was very hot, and since the terrace is open-air, there’s not much they can do with cooling. If you don’t like crowded places, I’d recommend visiting at a different time or day. Overall, it’s a place worth visiting at least once if you’ve never been to Newport. I would go back, but definitely at a less crowded time.
Karina T — Google review
Stopped by for a quick drink and bite. we sat at the outside patio bar. I had the Pretzel with a Guinness while she had the chicken salad with an Aperol, followed by a shared frozen Mudslide per the suggestion of a local. Service was awesome, the drinks were on point and the food was excellent.

Stopped at the Pearl on the 4th for lunch and place was packed as usual. We got lucky and we're able to get seated rather quickly. We wanted to eat outside as always ate inside. Atmosphere much better outside. We both had lobster sandwiches and fries. Disappointed in what you received for $36 each. As picture shows you can't even see the lobster, takes the excitement away 😧.Service was fair as waitress only came by once after we received our dishes but she was pleasant. This is the first time I wasn't impressed as this is one of my favorite restaurants in Newport. We will still keep stopping here but will pass on the lobster in the future. Still feel Lindy's Tavern is best place in Rhode Island for a nice colossal roll 😋😋😋
Richard L — Google review
Have been here several times before. The atmosphere and food are always very good. Their clam chowder really is award winning. On this visit we just got apps because we needed to get to a show. Had the crab cakes and shrimp with grits, both delicious. Only complaint was the Mojito was not good at all. Prices are average for Newport. It’s very popular in the summer so you will probably have to wait for outdoor and indoor seating.
Donna K — Google review
Great food, service and atmosphere! Went for drinks at night and then back for dinner the following day, both nights were great! Clam chowder is one of the best I’ve ever had. The frozen dark and stormy is delicious. Highly recommend!
Greg N — Google review
The food was delicious. We all enjoyed what we ate, but the service could have been better. If only the server smiled and was a bit more attentive. She couldn't care less. The room was not crowded. We had a better time at some of the other places.

Located at Bannisters Wharf, Clarke Cooke House offers a mix of casual and formal dining options in an 18th-century building. The upscale dining room serves fancy New England cuisine, while the Candy Store/Bistro provides a more relaxed atmosphere with simple New England fare. With its proud sailing history and iconic Americas Cup races, Newport is an ideal destination for nautical getaways, especially during the summer and fall seasons.
Great spot. We had the crab cake to start, loaded with crab and no filler. I had the pepper crusted tuna, cooked just right, and my son had penne almond chicken he didn’t leave a bite. Finished with the famous Snowball for dessert. It is that good. Cool atmosphere, great service, not too stuffy. Would definitely come back.

We came here at 1pm on a Wednesday in early Aug 2025. We sat alongside of the entrance to enjoy the beautiful weather and hustle and bustle of the wharf. Our waitress was great. She was prompt. Drinks were quick to arrive and stay topped off. We wanted a snack and not lunch, so oysters and heirloom tomato with burrata salad was just enough. Everything was so fresh. The chefs choice oysters were buttery and delicious, and the salad, bright, sweet, and the perfect partner to a beautiful summer day. Can’t wait to return!
John R — Google review
The service here was not the best, the waitress couldn’t give me descriptions of ANY of their oysters, I was pretty disappointed, however I still ordered an assortment of oysters as an appetizer and then the lobster roll has my meal. Overall the food was pretty good. Luckily my friend and I had the pleasure of sitting right next to the water! Don’t know that I would recommend this place to anyone but glad I walked in & gave it a try!
Kat W — Google review
5 stars all around! This place is delicious! Off-season, Wednesday night October, and it was packed. Despite the crowd, our server was attentive and helpful. Highly recommended daily oyster selection and the clam chowder. I enjoyed the featured halibut…. Not sure how often that makes the menu, but if you see it, try it! And save room for the snowball from hell. It’s worth it! Met the GM who graciously gave us a tour and treated us like celebrities. I wish we had more time here… I’d eat here everyday!

While we were walking around the harbor in Newport, we wanted to grab a drink. When we walked by, it looked like a nice and fun place. We asked if we could sit at the bar and we were able to find two seats. There were locals and visitors alike, and we could tell we found a gem. Kevin the bartender was friendly, attentive, and made great drinks! When he left his shift, Shawn took over and made sure to keep our water glasses full. We’re so glad we stopped by that afternoon!
Jeff — Google review
We came here after seeing the funny video of the assistant AG getting arrested for trespassing lol. We absolutely loved it here. The service was comfortable and not overbearing but right on time. The food was delicious! Also, every course came at the perfect time. The view of the harbor is beautiful. There’s a nautical old money feeling with surprisingly nice prices, especially for the best dinner in newport. Ultimately a great experience with no complaints. Hopefully next time we get to witness an AG be arrested.

Some of the best food we've ever tasted - the truffle appetizer was a once-in-a-lifetime delight. The lemon, honey and vanilla sauce with the asparagus appetizer was so good that we used our bread to get all of it. The duck breast and the swordfish entrees were beyond our expectation with innovative and delicious accompaniments. Dining on the third level is a once a year treat for us.
Althea A — Google review
One of the best restaurants in the US. Great views. The food is delicious. Try the King Salmon, its perfectly cooked. Enjoy some excellent oysters from the region. The sushi is not bad so if you are in the mood for it, give it a try. The staff was great and knew how the chef recommends his food to be prepared. I recommend this place. So make reservations and enjoy.

Italian restaurant
Giusto is a stylish Italian restaurant that offers a variety of pasta, meat dishes, and seafood along with an assortment of cocktails and wines. The open-air porch provides stunning harbor views, making it an ideal setting for a delightful dining experience during the late spring or summer. Chef-owner Kevin ODonnell and his team have been recognized for their outstanding hospitality, earning a James Beard Foundation semifinalist nomination.
Absolutely fabulous. We live just outside Washington DC and have a few Michelin-star restaurants. Giusto is better. We had the Black Bass Crudo with kiwi and yuzu (amazing), the Japanese Eggplant, fruit di mare Bucatini and the Mushroom Agnolotti (wow), followed by the Coconut Lime dessert - all with a great Italian white wine. An amazing experience, with fabulous service a wonderful view of Newport harbor. Thank you, Chef and all the staff at Giusto!

Everything about this place was an absolute 10/10, from the minute we stepped to the host stand to when we finalized our check. All of the staff was incredibly attentive, helpful, and went over the top to make sure we had a great experience. Our servers/food runners were great, the one server that stood out was Hope. She was friendly, funny, and overall created the best environment for our time there. All, and i mean ALL, of the food and drinks were AMAZING. Even the most unique & strange flavor combinations I was pleasantly surprised by; for example the capresi martini. I’ve truly never had anything like it. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.
Mya A — Google review
Nicely curated Italian restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining options. The chef's choice 7 course dinner is a wonderful option. Impressive wine list compliments the food. The pasta was perfectly seasoned. The salmon was also very good. Terrific service as well.
Mark L — Google review
The atmosphere here is excellent — warm lighting, a clean setup, and a relaxing vibe that captures the charm of a cozy Italian spot with a beautiful sea view. The environment alone, paired with an impressive wine selection, makes it worth a visit. Customer service was moderate. The staff were polite, but attentiveness was lacking. We were left waiting outside for about 15–20 minutes — a noticeable miss, especially considering the restaurant was roughly 80% empty. There were also minor delays with refills and an awkward seating arrangement, though nothing too disruptive. The food itself was hit or miss. Some courses were flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, while others felt rushed in execution or uneven in portion and presentation. We ordered the tasting menu for two, which was both expensive and lengthy — stretching over two hours. While the concept was creative, the pacing and overall delivery didn’t quite match the elegance the setting suggested. Overall, this restaurant shines in atmosphere and ambiance, but there’s room for improvement in service and culinary consistency. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy a glass of wine and the view, best suited for a relaxed evening rather than a fine-dining experience.
T L — Google review
We accidentally stumbled across the restaurant while taking a walk and went in to try. The menu is small but the staff explain the menu well if needed. We got a simple marinara pasta and mafaldine (lobster pasta). Both of them were very yum and seemed fresh. The marinara sauce is amazing. They were able to give a coloring set for my kid which helped. We had a good experience there!
Mrinalini B — Google review
It's not the first time I've visited Italian restaurants in America, but this one conveys the real flavors of Italian cuisine. And as a person who traveled to Italy, I want to say with confidence that they conveyed the flavors of Italy. The dishes we ordered were extremely tasty. The desserts also turned out to be very good. The waitress was very attentive to our requests, she knew everything about the dishes we were interested in and according to her recommendations we were able to enjoy our dinner. Therefore, they not only cook deliciously here, but also have the highest level of service. I recommend this restaurant 100%.

we had an incredible dining experience from beginning to end. giusto is absolutely worth they hype, and deserved of every praise and accolade. tip: ideally secure a reservation as far in advance as possible, but you’re like us, and your dinner plans came together that afternoon, call and get on the waitlist to be notified if a seat opens. we arrived at 8, and were able to secure a 9:15 seat, while we waited at the bar, standing for 10 mins before bar seats opened, and we ended up just having our meal there, which was an excellent experience. nick our bartender was amazing, the food was beyond. top tier, i had the duck confit, and she had the buscatini, we had the croquettes to start, and ended with the olive oil cake and salted caramel gelato, oh and a negroni or 3, all were phenomenal choices. can’t go wrong here ever! will be back!
Aiyah J — Google review
The food was incredibly delicious!! We were blown away! The service was just as amazing — our waitress was so warm and friendly 😊 My husband said it was the best Italian food he's ever tasted in his life! 😍🍝 The only downside was the long wait — it took quite a while for the food to arrive, and there was a big gap between the appetizer and the main course. But overall, it was absolutely worth it!

Seafood restaurant
The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar is an elegant and sophisticated restaurant located in Newport's historic waterfront, offering stunning views of Narragansett Harbor. Specializing in fresh, locally-sourced seafood and prime USDA steaks, the chic eatery provides a dining experience accompanied by an award-winning wine list with over 300 vintages.
The seafood is outstanding—10 out of 10! We've been to this seafood restaurant twice, and each visit has been excellent. The crab cakes were a particular highlight, and the cod was also very good. We ordered a whole lobster, and the server kindly helped us clean it, which made the experience much easier and enjoyable. The restaurant’s design is simple yet elegant. Despite being very busy during both of our visits, the service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. A practical note: Parking in front of the restaurant is limited and paid, so we were lucky to find a spot. Overall, highly recommended for seafood lovers looking for a top-notch dining experience. We'll definitely be back when we're in Newport, RI again!

We had reservations for dinner for 8pm but my husband called to see if they can get us in earlier. They accommodated us at 6:15pm even though they were completely booked. We were seated on the covered deck, however the view of the Marina was covered with thick, clear plastic which they could not open up. This not only obstructed our beautiful view but also prevented the circulation of air. It did get a little stuffy. Some other guests were not thrilled about this and decided to sit indoors. Other than that, our experience at this place was excellent. The drinks were refreshing and the food was delicious. Our server Jennifer was friendly & attentive. We were treated with a free dessert and a card signed by the employees for our anniversary.
Dipa B — Google review
Had a great lunch here while in Newport for the day. Warm Lobster Roll was fantastic. Not that i am an expert in Lobster Rolls, but can not imagine having it any other way. Although I know some of you do. Scallop chowder was good, but to me the base made it something i could not take a lot of. My wife like it over the clam chowder, and i preferred the clam. Worked out perfectly. Madisyn was great and attentive and our seats inside over looking the water provided a wonderful atmosphere.
Scott R — Google review
We had a great dinner at The Mooring! The food was excellent all around. The shrimp ceviche was fresh and flavorful with just the right amount of heat, and the fish & chips were perfectly crispy with great fries. The chicken was juicy, with a bright chimichurri and creamy garlic mashed potatoes that really stood out. Our server Sharon was friendly and professional, though she tended to linger a bit long at the table. Overall, a really good experience and we’d definitely go back.
Loren S — Google review
I was so excited to dine here Saturday for lunch. The food looked amazing on social media & my experience was just as great as it looked online. The seafood was delicious and fresh. The out door seating was beautiful and peaceful. When booking the reservation, I did request in the comments to be sat outside so I really appreciated that they honored that request. Our waitress Maddy was a doll. Super down to earth & consistently checked in on us. Everything was great!
Carley P — Google review
Absolutely incredible experience! We arrived on our first night here to Newport, and everyone recommended dinner at The Mooring. We had reservations for a table, but we ended up having so much fun at the bar with bartenders Nick and Matt (and patron Jim) that we decided to hang with them for the evening. From Nick’s perfect cocktails (salted caramel espresso martini and of course a classic dirty) to Matt recommending local stops to see in town on our stay, we had a great experience - not like some highfalutin place that misses out on an authentic experience. And the food recommendations were fantastic! 10/10 for us, and so much so we may go by again before our stay is over. From Nashville with love - Amanda & Jason.
Amanda W — Google review
Had dinner here with my wife over weekend. Food was very good, the chowder was super solid. Shrimp cocktail was good portion, super fresh. Lobster roll and fries was good, not great. No need for lettuce on a lobster roll. Second best lobster roll we had while visiting. Nice ambiance, good views. Service was good. Would go again.

We had a fantastic experience here! Beautiful food, amazing service, and super delicious food. We came for the lobster rolls and were blown away by them, but we left actually being number one fans of their honey biscuit. Hahaha you HAVE to get the biscuit, it’s the greatest thing ever. Our server Candace was SO sweet, attentive, and lovely - she made our meal extra special!

Located in the heart of Newport, Rhode Island, Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant is a beloved culinary destination with over 30 years of history. The establishment offers a diverse menu featuring everything from classic pub fare to contemporary multicultural dishes. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, it's a popular choice for both locals and visitors seeking delicious food and genuine hospitality. The restaurant boasts an extensive wine list with over 250 vintages, earning recognition with the Wine Spectator Award for Excellence.
VERY good food. We walked in on a Saturday around 6pm and had a 35 min wait for a party of 3. There are plenty of stores to walk around nearby while you wait for the text that your table is ready, The Golden BBQ Burger was amazing. We also got machacha nachos and short rib sandwich and they were good too. The service was good, the atmosphere was nice because it was a bit more low key but still great food and lots of decorations.

Newport is a happy place for my wife and I. Brick Alley is a must-visit restaurant when in town. This trip we were a party of four. Absolutely enthralling decor and always excellent service. I put a picture of all that was ordered although I can not name them all. I had the salmon which was delicious but looked a little lonely as served. If there was any shortcoming at all I would say that the menu is a bit limited. Take a look 👀 online and make sure that they have what you like. If you do visit I am sure that you will enjoy the experience. Your mileage may vary.

Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant is such a great spot! The atmosphere is warm, lively, and welcoming, making it perfect for a casual meal or gathering with friends. The highlight for me was definitely the clam chowder—so rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. It’s an absolute must-try! 👍 The menu has a wide variety of options, and everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and efficient, which made the experience even better. If you’re in Newport, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant in Newport, RI is a lively and welcoming spot that blends classic charm with a fun, casual vibe. Located on Thames Street, it’s perfect for families, date nights, or just grabbing a drink with friends. The menu is huge think award winning burgers, fresh seafood, pastas, and even a lobster roll voted one of the best in America. Inside, the decor is packed with antiques, sports memorabilia, and even an old Chevy truck, giving it a nostalgic feel. The staff are friendly, the portions are generous, and the energy is always upbeat. It’s a true Newport favorite.

We stumbled upon The Brick Alley Pub thanks to a great recommendation from our trolley driver, Rob—and what a find! This place is bursting with eclectic charm, packed with fun antique memorabilia on every wall. It’s like walking into a cozy museum-meets-pub—there’s something to admire in every corner. The bar area is separated so perfect if you have small Kids too! Despite being pressed for time (we had a return water taxi scheduled for our cruise), our server was incredibly accommodating. We let her know we had only an hour, and she made sure everything was smooth and efficient without making us feel rushed. We started with their famous beef nachos, which were absolutely delicious—layers of crispy chips, melted cheese, and perfectly seasoned beef. My friends opted for the all-you-can-eat salad bar, which was impressively stocked with a huge variety of fresh toppings, dressings, and sides. A true salad-lover’s dream! I ordered their award-winning Lobster Salad Sandwich, served cold as recommended. It did not disappoint—light, flavorful, and loaded with fresh lobster meat. It came with classic coleslaw and a side of sweet potato fries, which were perfectly crispy and just the right amount of sweet. Before heading out, we also grabbed a few tee-shirts for our husbands—a fun way to support local businesses and take home something memorable. Little souvenirs like that always make vacations last just a bit longer when you’re back home. If you’re in Newport and looking for a spot that’s full of personality, local flavor, fantastic bar area and great food, I highly recommend stopping in at The Brick Alley Pub. It’s now one of my favorite hidden gems from the trip!

Don’t let the ugly yellow awning fool you, this place is a must-visit! Portions are huge and food is delicious. Whether it be nachos, fried mozzarella, turkey club, fish and chips or a burger, you can’t go wrong! There is something for everyone. Service is also great, never have to flag down wait staff for refills, etc. I recommend making a reservation - Thames St. is a very busy area and there is usually a wait.

When it was our turn to have a break for lunch from our tour, we decided to stop by and try them out. It sure did not disappoint and it is one of the bigger restaurants in historic Newport. We were seated almost right away and our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered food and it arrived pretty fast. We got the cheeseburger and the smoked turkey club, both delish, fresh and tasty. A good option in historic Newport.

White Horse Tavern, dating back to 1673, is the oldest and possibly most haunted tavern in America. It has served as a courthouse, meeting place for various groups, and a private residence. The historic setting features creaky wide-plank floors, original beams, glowing sconces, and multiple hearths that create an atmosphere reminiscent of its early days. Visitors can dine in the main dining room or on the second floor with views worth navigating the narrow staircase for.
Scotch eggs were about as flavorful and perfectly cooked as you can expect. Clam chowder was excellent. We also ordered endive salad blackened sword fish and beef Wellington. Bread pudding and candy bar rounded out the meal. Smokey Old fashioned to start. Everything was impeccably prepared. Best meal we had for this trip. Service was warm and attentive.

We visited here from out of state with high expectations. Every single one of them was exceeded. Good wine selection and great service. Make sure you make a reservation! The dress code is clearly unenforced but perhaps it varies depending on different times of the night or who is hosting. My preference is just to commit to one of them, either drop the dress code or enforce it. Include a note with the reservation, & put up a sign outside so it is harder to claim ignorance regarding the website info. The field greens had an exquisite minty + turmeric taste with candied nuts and it was a perfect appetizer! The lobster ravioli and lobster bisque are similar so make sure you want them both if ordering both. The duck legs were crispy on the outside and they were so good! Would recommend going early so you can park in their free parking lot, I’m sure it gets full. One of the dining rooms is upstairs so be sure to request what you need in advance.

Excellent restaurant which is also the oldest tavern in America. Lot of history, beautiful stories and architecture. Really nice old woody feel. Lovely service and staff who are friendly. Highly recommend you book in advance guys it gets full fast. We have been three times on three different trips. The food is nice but not overwhelmingly good. The best dishes were the Brussels sprouts aide dish- must have! Also the dessert mousse was amazing!! The duck chicken and steak were 7/10.

I will just say - when George Washington walked into this tavern, it was already 100 years old! If that isn’t enough to pique your curiosity and your desire to visit this iconic restaurant, then let me tempt you further. The wine selection is impressive; the food (don’t miss the Beef Wellington) is delicious; and the service is impeccable!. Still not convinced? The staff is welcoming and gracious - and the bartender pours the perfect Rusty Nail! Still need more? Our reservations kept changing (our fault - NOT theirs) - but Bill and Ryan were superb and accommodating. We were celebrating a birthday - and the owners of the Golden Steer Las Vegas were in our party (no pressure 🙃). It could not have been a more exciting or grander memory! If you have not dined at the White Horse Tavern, then it’s high time you did. You will not be disappointed - and who knows? … you may just walk in George’s exact footsteps!

Full moon on a Friday and lucky me there was a table near the bar. Beef Wellington was superb, see pics and the wine was outstanding. Great hostess and bartender. Efficient, friendly and scrumptious. So glad I made the walk from my air bnb! Thank you for graciously welcoming me from Nashville!

The food was delicious! We ordered the lobster ravioli, scallops, oysters, and lobster soup. The portions were generous and everything tasted great. The ravioli were especially amazing, served with a rich sauce that included extra lobster and shrimp. My mother-in-law loved the Nespresso martini with Baileys, which we highly recommend as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food! Our waiter was also very kind and took good care of us. I really like the atmosphere of the old tavern.
Shelby H — Google review
The house/restaurant is super cute. It’s white table, but doesn’t need to be. The food and service do not match the vibe. The scotch egg was delish. The clam chowder was simple but lacked salt and pepper. I had a chicken dish that was rather bland. The veggie plate was nothing to write home about. Very simple and basic. Our waitress was not attentive. She told us the specials and walked away—we were ready to order by that time. She was covering at least 5 tables. Again, doesn’t match the fine(r) dining vibe. We had to ask the food runner for more to drinks because it was completely out. I would not recommend this place.

Very busy, decent wait. Servers were great. The atmosphere was ok. Buffalo wings above average. I had the chicken Marsala as my entree, and it was actually really good... Not a meal I expected from a pub... I'd definitely come back.

Best bar in town hands down! We asked the bartender every where we went and they all said PJ is their favorite and it's easy to see why. Looks a little divey but has some world class food. The seafood soup is incredible, full of flavor and seafood. Loved the jambalaya too. Can't wait to come back!

Looked at this place on google. I didn't disappoint pretty cool place. The atmosphere was awesome, and it was pretty busy on a Monday. But overall, the wings and Chicken Marsala and my go-to old fashion were pretty dang good. Will definitely be back in the future.

During a visit to Newport, this place was recommended by a resident. It's a little gem... the burger was excellent, fries had great flavor and were nice and crispy, and the penned carbonara was hearty and tasty. Staff was friendly and super fast.

Incredible bar. Came here to watch NFL Sunday from a cruise ship stop in Newport. Quick walk from port. Staff is super attentive and nice. They were nice enough to put the games on we wanted to watch. Wings are a must order. Bartender told me they were legit and he wasn't lying. Some of the best wings I've had from anywhere, period. 1000% recommend this place.

Irish pub
The Fastnet Pub, named after the southernmost lighthouse in Ireland, is a classic Irish pub located on Broadway in Newport. It's a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, offering a casual and lively atmosphere. The pub features live music, including Irish folk bands and jam sessions on Sunday evenings. With TVs for sports enthusiasts, darts, Ping-Pong, pool tables, and a spacious outdoor patio with plenty of seating and games available.
Went looking for some great fish and chips and the Fastnet Pub delivered. It's delicious great job to the chef. It was my first visit to this location, but I will be back. I noticed plenty of dartboard and a pool table as I wandered around. It was a little early for much of a crowd, but the patrons seemed to be having a good time. Theres also lots of beers on tap.

My family and I visited on busy Thursday evening. However the bartender was not phased and attended to all customers in good timing! I highly recommend the painkiller it was amazing. The wings and onions were also pretty good. This place is about a 6 minute drive from the Cliffwalk.
Priya V — Google review
The pub is authentic and in a great location. The daytime bartender was unfriendly and a bit rude. He tossed the bill back at us when we paid as if annoyed because we didn't open a tab. The bartender was jovial with the locals but a bit of a "douche" to two out-of-town customers. Order beer...basic mixed drinks are simply average. I never comment or leave a negative review but this bartender was blatantly rude.
Patricia H — Google review
Really Disappointed. We have been here many times but hadn’t gone in for about 6 months. We used to love the burgers with the steak fries and the chicken tenders and fries with the curry sauce. I should have known something was off when I saw the menus had changed and everything was different. Should have left then. What used to be a half pound juicy burger was a slider. Shoestring fries instead of the nice big steak ones. Chicken totally different and much more salty along with the curry sauce being way too salty as well. Service as if you are a burden and you are lucky enough to get waited on at all. Made me depressed honestly. A once comfort food and good craic place I will be avoiding in the future.
Mel C — Google review
I end up here with boozy friends every time I visit Newport, and it never fails to disappoint. Menu is uninspired and poorly executed, service is reluctant at best. The space itself is nice, particularly the patio, but I always leave fearing someone has pilfered my card. Best I can say about it is that they have Save the Robots on tap, which will trick you into an intoxicated state far more intense than you intended.
Dan M — Google review
It's one of the top bars in Newport. Super friendly service from the staff. And also always friendly and welcoming are the patrons. I watched soccer games there in the past. This Saturday, I was looking for a place to watch the F1 Qualifying. When I got there the place was packed and golf was on TV. I asked the bartender if it could be switched, and he would check for me. And all the golf fans were happy to watch the Qualifying with me. And not to forget the food, I had honey mustard wings and they were really good. 😋 in the past, I had the Ceasars salad and the burger before. The menu is on line.
Anita M — Google review
I had a really bad experience here. I was feeling dehydrated and simply asked the bartender for a glass of water—something any decent bar would offer without hesitation. Shockingly, they said it would cost $5. Charging for water, especially when someone clearly needs it, is incredibly disappointing and says a lot about the priorities of this place. I won't be coming back and definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Gabriel — Google review
Lively watering hole in the summer. This is an old New England joint so don’t expect anything fancy, from the food to the service. The owners and servers are friendly though usually hard to flag down. Great beer battered onion rings. Unsure if there is actual table or drink service outside in back as I’ve been told to go back there a number of times and never once saw anyone but locals playing games and smoking cigarettes. Cozy in winter. A place to get drunk, and not too cheaply. Irish bangers and mash were ok, but the mashed potatoes were of questionable origin/ preparation. A cool landmark to visit it Newport, but nothing to cry over if you miss it. Irish music Sunday evenings.

The Reef is a casual waterfront restaurant located in Newport Harbor, offering a tropical paradise experience with its outdoor patios adorned with palm trees, lounge seating, and fire pits overlooking the harbor. The menu features a variety of international cuisine, including lobster rolls served cold with Reef lobster Aioli or warm garlic butter. This dog-friendly spot provides ample outdoor seating for patrons to enjoy live music and creative cocktails while taking in the picturesque views of boats on the water.
Yesterday was my first time in Newport, and the Reef was my first stop. I heard some great things about it so a friend and I decided to go. We sat outside with a view of the water and the boats, with lovely live music. We had the most amazing server, shout out to Oliva (with the bangs)! She was fantastic and kind and very helpful/patient when we’re asked her so many questions about the menu. She gave great recommendations on what food and drinks were the best and she was RIGHT. This was 10/10 some other best best food I’ve had and it was a great first time in Newport! I will definitely be back again, Thank you Liv!!

Overall we had a decent time at the reef; we came for lunch. One thing that is a small pet peeve of mine is when a place will advertise indoor and outdoor seating, but there will be no barrier to the outside so the inside seating is basically outside anyway. It was a hot day and we had been out in the sun and asked to sit inside, but they had one of the walls open to the outdoors so the indoor seating really wasn’t much relief from the elements. Still, our server was very nice. It took a little while to get our food but it was very flavorful. I got the calamari and lobster bisque, my husband got the swordfish. We both enjoyed our dishes. We both drank water as our beverage however they didn’t put any ice in either of our drinks, and there was debris in my water- additionally because there was no barrier to the outdoors a gnat died in my soup and there was one in my water as well. The decor of the place feels a bit run down/dated for the menu price. While we were eating some guy was walking his dog through the area between the indoor and outdoor seating, and his dog urinated into one of the potted plants. No one (dog owner or staff) attempted to stop this from happening.

We made reservations for a waterside brunch. Farmers omelet was delicious and cooked perfectly. It was paired with simple spring greens with a light vinaigrette that was equally delicious. Avocado toast was very well done a tasty. Egg was perfectly cooked to a soft boil. Highly recommend both brunch items.

Food was just above average. Although the Greek Ceviche was odd IMO. Cheap plastic like Feta and raw fish was a weird combo. Most loved dishes of the night were the Watermelon Salad, Asian noodles and the Crispy tuna appetizer. Service was very friendly and the place is nice, right on the dock. Good gluten free knowledge and options.

This was a stop on the Newport Foodies Stroll. We had a bowl of their clam chowder. Apparently, Rhode Island Clam Chowder is very brothy whereas New England Clam Chowder is very creamy. This was described as a hybrid - more of a light cream. There is excellent flavor in every bite and I definitely recommend it. The view is quite wonderful as well.

The Reef was the perfect spot for my birthday brunch! The lobster benedict was AMAZING, really wished we'd gotten two! We had such a fun time with our server Jamie. It was hilarious trying to guess all the different songs that the live steel drum band were playing (live music on Sundays). Great views, great atmosphere! Would definitely go back.

Everything was just right. We almost did not get in though. They seat the last table at 8:45. Our server was wonderful. They were able to accommodate a food sensitivity to gluten, dairy and soy. She had the hamburger and truffle fries. They have a separate gluten free fryer.

We came to The Reef during off-season. The food was delicious & the service was great. I enjoyed the lobster pappardelle pasta so much - pasta had a bite and the sauce was fresh, savory, and herby. Oysters were fresh and delicious too! Clam chowder was a bit watery for what it is, however, it was still tasteful and nice. Overall the environment was quieter due to it being off season, which I prefer. But it was a nice restaurant to grab a bite at! Owners and workers there were attentive and lovely people.

The service was fast and friendly. The lobster tacos were amazing, with huge pieces of lobster meat. The linguine with clam sauce was delicious, and the kids’ parrot pizza was a hit! Almost forgot everyone loved the calamari!

I liked the style, the food and the atmosphere. I got the grilled swordfish blackened and it was very delicious. My wife got the lobster and shrimp pasta and it has a lot of lobster chunks in it, all great. The clam chowder was also a highlight. The menu stated it is award winning with the recipe also containing dill. It sounded interesting and exceeded my expectations in every way. The dill works so well and the clam was very tender, so far the best clam chowder I've had. We really liked it and are glad we visited.

We were traveling through and the kind parking attendant recommended this restaurant and we are so glad he did. It was excellent! It was a beautiful day. We were seated by an open window and it felt marvelous. The pumpkin pie martinis were fantastic and each of our meals were amazing along with outstanding service. If we come back to the area we will definitely return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Red Parrot! Although some say it’s too touristy I think it is worth the trip. We had a group of five and everyone was extremely satisfied with their lunches. My mother had the coconut shrimp and was very happy with the sweet and light batter. She opted for honey mustard dipping sauce as she does not like any heat whatsoever and thought the sweet and spicy dipping sauce might be too much for her (the honey mustard was one of the best I’ve tried. My sister had the taziki pasta with Kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes, spinach, feta, chopped tomatoes and chicken. It was very light on the protein but the taste and pasta portion were great. Dad got the Coco Loco Coconut shrimp wrap. Flavor and portion size were great but he said there was maybe two piece of shrimp. The sweet potato waffle fries were a huge hit and not one remained in the basket! Everyone was very happy with the only improvement noted was that for the price the protein portions should be “beefed” up a bit.

Fun, friendly & informative! I had a delicious Swedish Fish cocktail (highly recommend) I ordered the Bacon, Egg & Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, my husband ordered the lobster salad! Both dishes were delicious & perfect! We couldn't resist indulging in the Bananas Franchesca~ YUM!!! The atmosphere was amazing, 5 out of 5 hands down!

Absolutely delicious food, great service, and ideal location! We had no wait time, and our server was busy yet attentive and fun. The lobster Rangoon, swordfish platter and seafood Alfredo were top notch and huge portion sizes. The kids had fun mocktails with a little squeaky flamingo and shark on the lid. It was an overall great experience and we will definitely be back!

The Lobster Bar is a relaxed seafood and cocktail haunt located in Newport Harbor, offering beautiful sunset views from its wooden structure and outdoor patio. The restaurant features enormous lobster tanks, giving diners a sneak peek of what's to come on their plates. Known for its huge lobster rolls, clam rolls, and classic fish sandwiches, this spot is perfect for lunch or dinner after a day at the beach.
This was our first time coming here to eat. The service was magnificent, and the food was delicious! The price is definitely reasonable for the meal, I would say it was between $35-$40 per person for a good portion of fresh lobster. They have lots of different appetizers and dish options as well. We came before the lunch rush and got a really good spot right by the water. Our waitress was attentive and kept our drinks refreshed. The food came out quickly and overall the service was very good. I highly recommend The Lobster Bar for your next meal! 🍽️

We had gone during a long weekend, so naturally the place was quite packed. Even with the crowd, the wait time was surprisingly short — we got a table in about 10 minutes, which was impressive. As for the food, it was definitely enjoyable. I ordered the lobster roll, and it turned out really tasty. The filling was generous, and with the French fries on the side, it was quite a hearty meal. I also tried a bite of the fish and chips — that was even more delicious, maybe because of the crispy flour coating and frying 😋. The shrimp pasta too was flavourful and hit the spot.

This was our first visit to this seafood spot, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, and the food tasted fresh and flavorful. Prices felt fair for the quality, and I’d definitely suggest trying the lobster roll—it was a highlight. The menu offers plenty of appetizers and entrées, so there’s something for everyone. The view of the bay was stunning, and as the sun began to set, it created such a beautiful atmosphere that we wished we had more time to stay and enjoy it. Our server was attentive, always checking in and keeping our drinks full, and the dishes came out promptly. If you’re looking for a place with great seafood, warm service, and unforgettable views, I’d highly recommend The Lobster Bar.

Easy and fun spot if you are looking for a restaurant with good views! We stopped in after one of the sunset sailing tours and were happy to be warmed up with some clam chowder soup. The food was okay but not amazing so this is more of a spot if you have a large party or want water front scenery as there is a ton of seating. Their lobster roll is served cold so if you aren’t a big lobster person, wouldn’t go for that. The fish and chips were fine, can’t really mess up fried fish :) would probably still go back if with a group. Service was pleasant and there’s plenty of TVs if you’re trying to catch a game.

10/25 - Here on a NE bus trip & wanted to eat someplace with a view, boy were we happy with this place. Good food, good service and the view we were looking for. The wife had crab cakes, I had the lobster roll flight (3 ways). I have to say her crab cakes were better 😁. Average beer selection with a couple of unique ones. Satisfied our needs both visually and gastronomically.

I went to eat at lunch time at a weekday and no wait or reservations needed. I got the clam chowder and fried seafood platter. The clam chowder was average nothing special but the fried clams had a weird taste. It tasted like it was not prepared properly, there was dark green and gritty substance with the clams. The other fried stuff was fine. I do not recommend getting the fried clams.

5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic meal and perfect coastal atmosphere. The lobster roll was fresh, generously packed with sweet lobster meat, and served on a perfectly toasted bun. The slaw on the side was crisp, light, and flavorful — a great balance to the richness of the roll. My companion’s grilled salmon was beautifully prepared — tender, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with asparagus, roasted tomatoes, and a bright lemon-herb sauce. Service was friendly and attentive, and the outdoor seating made for an ideal dining experience. Highly recommend The Lobster Bar for anyone looking for great seafood done right.

Perro Salado is a vibrant Mexican restaurant located on Charles Street, offering a festive atmosphere and locally inspired dishes. The menu features gourmet tacos, flavorful moles, and tequila flights. The outdoor patio provides a charming setting beneath colorful string lights and a pergola. Signature dishes like sticky pork ribs and battered fish tacos are complemented by top-notch margaritas.
Was hesitant to try Mexican food in Newport but this looked a bit upscale and didn’t disappoint. Unique take on some dishes with a local twist. Clearly fresh ingredients. Chips and salsa and guacamole were a huge portion and delicious. Margaritas were super tasty and came in many flavors. Went with the duck tacos which were stellar but could have used a third taco for that price. Server was great, she was patient and helpful. Would recommend to anyone and it’s obviously popular being so busy on a Tuesday night in late October. I’d say the only downside is the 1% addition to your bill for kitchen staff. I get the message and purpose but why not just pay your staff more rather than forcing your customers to subsidize your payroll?

Great vibe, pretty small place, very low lighting with loads of ambient lights/candles. Neat artwork & decor. We had a nice table situated near the patio, close enough for fresh air & to hear the live music but not too loud. Overall though the noise level is pretty up there, as this restaurant is in a very old structure. Cucumber marg & blood orange marg very yummy. Excellent & friendly service, attentiveness perfect. Duck tacos A+. Salmon was overcooked (catering to the masses?), but the flavor of the tajin roasted potatoes & roasted carrots more than made up for it. If you like salmon cooked this much & would order it, it’s enough for at least two people. Nice experience overall, glad we went during our short stay here while we’re trying to sample multiple places!

The Lawn Terrace at Castle Hill Inn is a picturesque waterfront spot with a spacious patio and comfortable Adirondack chairs that offer stunning views of the bay. It's a popular destination in Newport, known for its classic New England cuisine and refreshing cocktails. The menu features favorites like 'Cornbread's' Clam Chowder and Lobster Roll, made with fresh, local ingredients.
Lunch at the outside bar was top-notch. My lobster roll was elite, and so was the calamari. The bartender was extremely pleasant and informative about Newport. After our lunch we went out to the lawn and relaxed. The views are simply beautiful. I highly recommend going here.

This restaurant has by far the best water view dining in the area. Great for enjoying a delicious lunch while watching the sail boats cruise along the harbor. There are plenty of seating scattered throughout the property but on a busy summer day, make sure your reserve a table ahead of time. Food was decent but you really come here for the view and the sun.

Great! Awesome place to lounge and enjoy some good food and friends. Fish tacos were delicious. Swordfish was well prepared and presented. Cornbread was delectable. The kids enjoyed their meals and experience. Good drinks selection

We had such a wonderful experience at The Lawn Terrace! We tried the avocado toast, corn bread, fried calamari, burrata, and eggs Benedict — and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The calamari was hands-down the best I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The atmosphere makes it even better. Tables typically require reservations, but bar seating is available for walk-ins, which is super convenient. You can also just grab a drink and enjoy it near the ocean view, which creates such a relaxing and beautiful dining experience. Highly recommend this spot for both the food and the stunning setting — we’ll definitely be back!

Best place there is. Service was perfect, views were perfect and food was amazing. I watched many of the workers being rude to by other patronage but they handled it beautifully and professional. Food was hot and great and the views can not be beat. We sat at the bar as well and the bartenders were amazing. I can not say enough about those that work here. They deserve so much.

Had an absolutely amazing time! We reserved the private Adirondack experience because we were a group of 7. It was so worth it. The service was fantastic. Steph was with us and she was top notch. The drinks were great, the food was fabulous, loved the minister rolls and the view was impeccable. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Been around the world and understand what makes an outstanding travel experience...Our experience was going well until we encountered Julia who was amazingly rude and off Putting. Our first and most likely our Last time. The view is beautiful but unfortunately our experience with the staff member created a negative experience and impression for future experiences. It is a shame that a beautiful view and great drinks are shadowed by terrible customer service. My suggestion go for a drink, scenery and instagram photos but eat Elsewhere for true authentically quality pleasurable experience in Newport RI!

Beautiful place to have lunch or dinner. The view of Newport is amazing, you will see lots of birds and boat/ships passing by. The food is top tier ! I recommend the beef carpaccio and the sea bass , you will not be disappointed! All of the staff were really nice and accommodating to my friends with certain food restrictions. Will definitely come here again soon!

O'Brien's Pub, situated at 501 Thames Street, is a popular spot known for its all-ages garden patio, pool tables, TVs, and live music. The pub offers an array of sandwich options including the highly sought-after lobster roll made with knuckle and claw meat blended with mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Other menu highlights include Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich, veggie wrap, vegetarian burger, classic burgers and sandwiches.
Perfect “all around” spot on Thames St that has the best outdoor atmosphere on a street packed with excellent restaurants and stores. We sat in the outdoor patio area with two kids, we shared some great apps specifically the humus player was great and full sized to really share. Food was good and great for a family with plenty of options. Highly recommend here when you’re looking to get a good value and easy food service in between more posh restaurants that are very particular in their food and style.

Good outdoor patio. Great drinks, food, and music in the afternoon. The service was non-existent. The wait staff were standing around vs attending to tables. The restaurant was practically empty due to rain, but no wait staff at the high tops. Ended up going to the bar to order drinks and food. The frozen mudslide with a floater was great as was the veggie burger. I would recommend them both. There is a great pond in the center for kids to play and catch plastic fish toys. Do not sit at the high tops unless you are using the bar for service. The bartenders were great, but the wait staff definitely needs training in customer service.

if you’re considering eating here, JUST DO IT. the clam chowder, lobster roll, and mudslides are so delicious. we also ordered shrimp curry and the jerk chicken, which if you can handle spice you should order. our waitress told us that the chef was Jamaican, so really flavorful delicious food. the atmosphere is so nice in the spring/summer with the outdoor seating. we sat next to the water fountain with rubber duckies!! and the mudslides tasted like spiked McFlurries. if i could rate this place higher, i would. 10/10 recommend.

I recently visited this past holiday weekend for a birthday celebration and, as always, you guys did not disappoint … Outside dining, the atmosphere, the food, the staff, I even had a laugh with another patron over the Mac and cheese with lobster 🤭 Our server, Taylor is A+ Not only did she do her job exceptionally well, her her personality and extra attn to the smallest of detail, definitely got my attn. enough that I wanted to review her before the food and drink… The food and drink did not disappoint. It was as great as Taylor’s service. I gave the bartender creative liberty .. and he delivered deliciously. Ordered the fries and buffalo wings, which were some of the best on my list! Thank you for always being a great experience! Never disappointed!

We’ve gone a few times now, to both the outside and inside portions, and we’ve never been disappointed!! I’ve tried multiple dishes, including the lobster salad roll, which was outstanding. The food, service, and atmosphere are all amazing. Everyone is incredibly nice and the food is amazing. A perfect setting and features entertainment for kids. We brought a dog once and he received amazing service and treatment as well. Definitely one of our go-to places :)

We were given drink tickets here from our Newport Foodies Tour. Our drinks (Tommy's Big Ginger and a Kentucky Mule) were well made by a bartender who appeared quite overworked but was very friendly. I did not order food but saw and smelled plenty of it go by. We had a lot of food on our tour and I was full but I was almost tempted to order since it all looked great

A bit of a wait to get in. Server wasn't very familiar with the menu/ingredients of items. Food was great. Lobster mac and cheese had tons of lobster in it.

We enjoyed our dinner. Great outdoor seating area, food was good. My husband said his burger was good and I had the Greek salad which was great. Our server Miyah B was excellent. She seemed genuinely sweet and was attentive without being overly attentive. I watched her interact with kids at a nearby table and she was great. Great casual dining spot.

Restaurant
Caleb & Broad is a laid-back bar and restaurant located on Broadway in Newport. It's a popular spot among locals, offering elevated comfort food for dinner and weekend brunch, along with craft brews and cocktails. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, with glass doors that open up to create an indoor-outdoor feel during warmer months. The menu features unexpected dishes like the banh mi bowl with kale and Brussels sprouts, as well as more traditional favorites such as avocado toast and breakfast burritos.
A friend recommended this restaurant to us for our family vacation to Newport. We went on a Monday night when the entrées were a special price of $12 after 5 pm. All of our entrées were so delicious and cooked to perfection -- we had the baked salmon, sesame tuna, and the ribeye. We also very much enjoyed our appetizers of the poutine tots and the buffalo chicken mac n cheese. Our food came out quickly and the portions were filling. Our waitress was also so friendly and sweet, she really made our dining experience very pleasant. We sat outside at the patio tables since we had our dog with us and everyone was very accommodating. If you are in the Newport area, I would definitely recommend trying out this restaurant-- especially during the Monday evening special!
Maria Z — Google review
Interesting food options, the Korean BBQ Ribs and Poutine tots were our favorites. We also had short rib flatbread, pickle egg rolls, corn tacos, K-9 cup, and cookie skillet. They were all pretty good. The cookie skillet was kind of fun that it came out sizzling but was too hot to eat for a while, I had to get a side plate to switch it to because the cookie was getting overcooked. There was a table of 7 that all asked for separate checks which is a wild request and so our server was busy closing out that table for a very long time. Fountain sodas are not free refills which I also thought was wild, especially since we waited so long for them to come. If I knew I was paying for refills, I would have turned them away since by the time they showed up, we finished our meals.
Nicole M — Google review
Although the service was great and food was good, I wasn’t a fan of the creepy homeless guy gawking at my family and other girls walking by during the meal. The atmosphere would have been great otherwise. The Cumberland Farms across the street seems to create a good hangout spot for the bunch. Not really what I’m looking for in a good brunch experience, NGL.
Matthew V — Google review
Service was so slow outside we sat for over 50 minutes before getting our food. Service was really terrible and other people who were sat after us got taken care of first like it was a personal thing with the server. Food mediocre. The home fries were unseasoned and bland, terrible really go elsewhere. Server also had long hair down which is not normal for any dining establishment and how hair gets into food.
Sasha H — Google review
Visited here when I came to Newport for the first time back in May to avoid tourist season. We were the only people in this place & the bartender/server was super nice & quick with service. I tried the Brussel sprouts appetizer (unreal), and the blueberry grilled cheese which was okay, just loaded with thyme which was not my favorite-but I’m picky. The artwork on the walls was amazing & the vibe was super cool. Definitely coming back!
Jenna C — Google review
First time visiting this place from out of town. Overall good experience. Good customer service and good food. Not great food but good food. Prices are discounted on entrees Monday nights, so arguably the best night to try it! I have to remove a full star simply because this place labels itself as a "cocktail bar" on Google, but in order to be a proper cocktail bar, your drinks better be stellar and properly made and served in proper glassware worthy of the drink you ordered, not served in a beer glass. This place is just not a cocktail bar, I'm sorry. The lavender cocktail was the best of the four tried though. I do recommend, but would order beer next time!
J. B — Google review
Went for 1/2 off apps on a Wednesday, should’ve arrived earlier but we were too busy exploring & had had a small snack elsewhere before their 3-5pm started. So many options & we were only hungry enough for one. BUT we came back later after dinner solely for the skillet chocolate chip cookie with bacon (anniversary treat!) & two super yummy fall cocktails. Delectable. Daytime bartender was lovely & appropriately chatty over post-season baseball. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

Stoneacre Garden is a vibrant and expansive destination that offers a variety of dining experiences. Its bright orange exterior, adorned with oversized illuminated marquee letters, sets the tone for a lively atmosphere. The restaurant features multiple dining spaces, including a rooftop terrace overlooking Newport Harbor, a back patio with a bocce court and libation hut, and a spacious dining room with greenery cascading from suspended trellises.
BEST wedding reception venue on the island! We rented the entire restaurant for our 156 guests & loved all of the spaces, especially the late-night Speakeasy. Exceptional service (because they all work there regularly), incredible food & an absolute joy to work with. No need to rent anything (ie: linens, glassware, etc) because it's already there.

We were looking for a place in Newport for 14 people, and no one had space for such a big group on a Saturday night. Finally, we found this amazing spot with such great vibes and atmosphere, where we celebrated my mom’s birthday. It was a wonderful, cozy family night. The food could have been a little better, but the service was excellent Thank you Stoneacre Garden

We came to Stoneacre garden on a Friday afternoon and was able to get seated without a reservation. The waiting staff here are so friendly and offered some great food suggestions. We just wanted some drinks and to share a burger but we didn’t realize how delicious everything would be. Highly recommend if you’re in the area! Make a reservation if you’re going during a busy time because I can tell it gets packed.

Today my girlfriend and I visited Newport from CT and AZ respectively to celebrate our 3 year anniversary, and were disappointed beyond belief. The restaurant looked good and had good reviews and up until we received our food, we believed so. Our server was kind and helpful and we know this was out of her control. To start, we ordered a "watermelon burrata salad", and to our disbelief, there were 2 pieces of watermelon. First red flag. Then it came time to order our mains, in which we both ordered the steak frites, medium rare. Our waitress then came back and told us that we could order "pink or not pink". Second red flag. Finally, the food came and oh my god was it awful. Flavour non-existent. You could get more flavour licking your own sweaty skin and the bottom of your worn out shoes than that steak. It was lukewarm at best and was noticeably a reheated steak. I felt like I relived an episode of Gordon ramsay's "Hell's Kitchen". Sure there were grill lines, but they may as well have tattooed that onto the meat considering the lack of charred texture. Bland does not even put into words how plain this was. You could've eaten paper and left with more of an after taste. Don't make our mistake and do not come here.

Met Adam and not only did he provide great service, but he provided a great attitude. He provided us fresh caught tuna that was the best tuna I have ever had and a white wine that was even better. A great guy that truly cares about his business and cares about the service he provides customers. Would definitely come back and is a gorgeous events center to host weddings and other special events. Would highly recommend as a member of the service industry myself

The building and decor for wedding reception were beautiful. The staff were very efficient and kept things running smoothly. The Roof Deck at The Vanderbilt is a relaxed and stylish bar with fantastic views of the harbour, the bridge and Goat Island. It's perfect for a pre or post dinner drink or for a night out with friends.
I wasn’t really impressed with the drinks up here, but everything else about this place makes it worth a visit. There was a wait when we initially checked in, but we found that tables moved fast and we were able to enjoy the town for around 20 minutes until we were texted about availability. On that note, the host staff were amazing and very helpful, offering directions around the hotel and how to get around, as well as clear explanations on wait times. They were so amazing! The view is literally perfect. We were lucky enough to grab a spot right around sunset. As I mentioned before, I wasn’t obsessed with any of the drinks I tried, but they’re good enough to enjoy with that kind of view. Definitely a spot to check out while in Newport.
Isabelle M — Google review
I can’t speak to the food because we just had sunset drinks. But in terms of drinks if you make a reservation you will get a table…. But the tables don’t have the best views. The self seating bar does. We walked in on a Thursday evening around 7 pm and found a seat at the bar. The service is a bit slow and not at all up to the standards of the hotel on the first floor. However i would go back to enjoy the great views . There is only one bathroom upstairs that is right next to where the elevator is that leads to a bit of a crowded feeling that characterizes the whole place. The atmosphere loses one star for looking out on a parking lot before you elevate your eyes to the sunset 😀
Heather P — Google review
This is a tremendous view of the sunset! But bring low expectations of everything else. The service was painfully slow and inattentive, despite a large staff given the size of the venue. The food is OK, but came before the drinks, which was disappointing. Beautiful views, but missed the mark on service, big time. Menu is sparse, but what we ordered was OK.
Steven L — Google review
This place has a spectacular view and you pay the price for it. They have a variety of cocktails which are good. We enjoyed the sunset with two cocktails and a pretzel and then we went to the bar downstairs which is very characteristic and has an exclusive atmosphere. It can get very loud when full. The service is very good and the personnel is very kind and welcoming..

Hours online show until 10pm… had dinner at the Vanderbilt; before dinner at 7:30 was told it was too crowded on the rooftop and they couldn’t accommodate anyone else- then told shortly after 9 that last call was 9:10 and we couldn’t go- after very slow dinner service. Very annoying. Limited menu. Not sure I’d recommend/return.

The Castle Hill Inn was an elegant dining experience for lunch. I am usually apprehensive about valet, but our guy, Connor, instantly made me feel as though my car was in good hands. From there, we were sat by a beautiful hostess named Ayina who was super friendly and informed us of everything they had to offer. Once we were seated, our waitress named all of the specials they had (so many good choices) and drink specials. Everything came out perfect. Lounging on the Adirondack chairs on the grass while watching the boats is a must-do when at Castle Hill Inn. There are even some paths to get down on the rocks below. Awesome place for a date. Highly recommend.

[This is strictly for the restaurant!] WOW. 100/10. Go for sunset!! This is a must-see dinner spot if you are venturing to Newport area. Food, view and service were all an absolute 10/10. Cannot wait to go back another time. We went early/mid Oct so it wasn’t as crowded as it likely is in peak season but we still got there early (before 530) to get a good window seat in the dining area. The clam chowder was the best I’ve had to date. My husband ordered the duck and I’m not a big duck person but it was delicious. I also loved my turkey sandwich. And our waiter was incredibly attentive and kind.

The Vanderbilt, Auberge Resorts Collection is a luxurious hotel housed in a 1909 mansion originally built by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt. The property boasts stylish rooms with kitchenettes, a spa, and two pools - both indoor and outdoor. The hotel exudes grandeur with museum-quality artwork, roaring fireplaces, and fabulous dining options.
An incredible dining experience at the Green Room at the Vanderbilt! We had such a wonderful time. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a kind and attentive staff member who guided us to our table. Although the patio was closed for the day due to the weather, we enjoyed an impeccable view of Trinity Church. Our server, Cindy, introduced herself and made us feel very welcome. She was not only kind and professional but also very personable. After she offered us a selection of coffee or tea, we decided to order a bottle of sparkling wine along with a cheese platter. Cindy was outstanding, consistently ensuring that our wine glasses were refilled. This level of service is rare and highly valued. As locals and regulars, we truly appreciate how Vanderbilt shows hospitality and cares for its guests. Overall, we enjoyed a great snack accompanied by even better service! Great job, Cindy! We truly appreciate you! Srdan D.

Stopped in for a cocktail in the lower restaurant and the rooftop sunset with friends. Everyone working there was exceptional and helpful in hospitality....except one waitress on the rooftop bar who was rather rude; tried to kind of make up for it but the experience was already soured. Other than that, the snack we got was fresh and delicious; just should have come with a utensil. All else was good.

From the moment we arrived, our stay at the Vanderbilt hotel was nothing short of perfection. The staff greeted us with a warmth that made us feel instantly at home, and the check-in process was seamless. Our room was an elegant retreat, beautifully decorated with a blend of historical charm and modern luxury. The attention to detail was impeccable, from the crisp, high-thread-count linens to the stunning view of Newport from our window. The hotel's amenities truly set it apart. The indoor pool was a serene escape, and the spa services were rejuvenating. We especially loved the rooftop bar, which offered breathtaking panoramic views of the city and harbor—the perfect spot for a sunset cocktail. The location is ideal, placing us within easy walking distance of Newport's best shops, restaurants, and historical mansions. The dining experience was a highlight. The in-house restaurant served a delicious and innovative menu, and the complimentary breakfast was a delightful start to each day, offering a selection of fresh, locally sourced options. Every meal felt special and well-curated. What truly makes the Vanderbilt a five-star experience is the exceptional service. The team went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, offering thoughtful recommendations and anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. It’s clear they take immense pride in their work. This is more than just a hotel; it’s an experience we can't wait to repeat. We left feeling completely refreshed and already planning our next visit. Tesla charger on the property free of charge.

I truly don’t know where to start with this hotel. We had our small 40 person wedding here 9/27/25 and not only is Sara amazing (event manager) but the other staff is astounding! To start, Sara worked with us for about 10 mos until our wedding day and was very responsive via email and even met us on a day she was not working to show us around the inside/outside of the building to give us ideas for our events. Secondly, during our 3 night stay the staff was amazing all around. Rooms and shared rooms (like the library) are spotless. The front desk staff and other staff just walking around know you by name and what room you are staying in which makes you feel important! Lastly, the food was incredible. Aside from our wedding food, we ate here several times during our stay and it is apparent that the quality is there. We are truly looking forward to our anniversary (or sooner) for another reason to stay here.

The Vanderbilt Hotel in Newport is an absolute gem! The common areas are stunning, with elegant decor that perfectly captures the charm of Newport. Our room was comfortable, beautifully appointed, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The highlight, though, was the rooftop bar—sipping cocktails while watching the sunset over the harbor was unforgettable! The staff truly made our experience exceptional. Said and the valet team were incredibly friendly and attentive, always greeting us with a smile and ensuring every detail was handled seamlessly. Amy, Ivan, and Darby went above and beyond, providing outstanding service and making us feel so welcome. They were especially thoughtful with our dog, always ensuring fresh water was available, which meant the world to us. We can’t wait to return to this wonderful hotel!

We had the most delightful stay in Newport at the Vanderbilt. I cannot stress enough what an absolute gem of a human Gaby was. She made us feel like friends, not guests, and was able to accommodate any minor request we had. The property itself was so special and the outdoor spaces were filled with hydrangeas. For location, it was a 2 min walk to downtown and about 7-10 min walk to most restaurants we wanted to go to. Highly recommend staying here! Food was great and rooftop was so nice for drinks.

We enjoyed every second of our one-night March stay, which was booked through the AMEX Fine Hotels and Resorts program. All benefits were clearly laid out at check-in and we thoroughly enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the hotel, as well as the goodies offered in the mini bar. The greeting at check-in—by both the concierge and front desk—was truly memorable, as they each went over the top to welcome us to Newport and make sure any questions we had were answered. It was apparent they genuinely love their jobs and city, and that passion was contagious. Our upgraded room was beautiful, and we arrived to a welcome note and chocolates sitting on the table. In a town full of luxury, I would choose The Vanderbilt every time.

We enjoyed our time in Newport, but expected more from The Vanderbilt. While the staff were very kind and welcoming, the service overall didn’t reflect typical Auberge standards. The rooms were extremely comfortable—especially the beds, which were wonderful. However, the food was underwhelming and didn’t meet our expectations.

Midtown Oyster Bar in Newport is a seafood restaurant known for its large raw bar and creative menu. The airy, high-ceilinged space offers two decks and spacious dining rooms, including an outdoor rooftop deck. The restaurant features a variety of fresh-shucked oysters, smoked bluefish dip, Hamachi sashimi, littleneck clams, chilled shrimp, octopus tacos, and the Leviathan shared platter.
Excellent oysters. Still wish restaurants would make real chips for fish and chips but this is North America. There is a variety of seating from cozy bars to open shared tables. Very attentive service during lunch on a rainy Sunday. One must try the oyster shooters!

We came here based on a friend’s recommendation, and I’m so glad we did! Even though the restaurant was packed, we were seated within seconds of walking in (around 5 PM). The raw oysters and clams were fresh and delicious, but the lobster roll blew me away. It was warm, juicy, and loaded with a generous amount of lobster meat👌🏼 Will definitely come back for another roll. Highly recommend!

Midtown Oyster Bar is absolutely fantastic! The seafood is as fresh as it gets, and the oysters are some of the best you’ll find anywhere — perfectly shucked and full of flavor. Their menu goes beyond oysters too, with delicious seafood dishes and flavorful sides that make every visit a treat. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot whether you’re out with friends or enjoying a nice dinner. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to recommend the best pairings. If you love seafood, Midtown Oyster Bar is a must-visit!

Very nice, missing the live music though. We’ve gone a few times in recent years, and the food is always outstanding, as is the service. The dishes always look and taste sensational. Would recommend.

In town 5 nights visiting and My wife and I were out walking and wondering where we were going to get dinner. Stopped in and looked at menu and decided to give it a try. We sat at the bar. I started with 3 oysters and they were so delicious I had to get more. We had Charred octopus (as good as it gets), wicked shrimp, lobster roll and truffled fries. Everything was fresh and exceptional. Highly recommend.

Midtown Oyster Bar was fantastic. They were able to accommodate a party of 12 for our family’s wedding week dinner. The staff was very kind and attentive. The food was delicious, especially their seafood tower, lobster Cobb salad, truffle fries and lobster roll! They were also able to split entrees in half for people sharing (salad picture of half split portion). Highly recommend to anyone visiting Newport.

Thank you for the great food and service. We enjoyed our 20 year anniversary and dinner at your restaurant. When we return to Newport your place is definitely on the list again! Thank you again! Great food!

We had a fabulous meal here. We were expecting “pub” food but everything was delicious. The oyster selection was incredible. The little necks were mouthwatering and the scallops were cooked to perfection! Madison our waitress was the best server we have had since moving to the US. Thank you so much!

It offers waterfront seating with stunning views of Newport Harbor and the Newport Bridge from its multiple decks. The restaurant features fresh seafood, raw bar platters, and fixed-price menus. In addition to its delectable dishes, The Landing also provides live music and great hospitality for a memorable dining experience.
Love the Landing! Great food and fun, and of the best music venues in Rhode Island. So many fun time here with live music. On Bowens wharf so perfect for the oyster fest and the seafood festivals. Fourth of July too! Recommend biking here from the bike path. Also Jamestown ferry is a good way to get to and see Newport.

Went for dinner. They are on the wharf and have outdoor seating facing the boats. The drinks are expensive, $17-$20 each. The menu is very limited for vegetarian dishes, they had one entree. The shrimp scampi and salmon were good. The server was busy with other tables, so I had to get up and ask for grated cheese which arrived promptly. The portions are smaller than expected. The bar area had a good band and was packed. Overall, it is a good place for music and drinks.

I cannot rave enough about how good of an experience I had here. The food was awesome and the service was superb. We ordered the mussels they made our jaws DROP. So delicious. Our entrees were also just as amazing. Eat here!

We have eaten here many times before as we come yearly to Newport for 4th of July. However this year was very disappointing. The size of the sandwiches for lunch was miniscule and the quality of the food not so great. There was no good place for the wings and the sangria is definitely not homemade. We will probably not come here for lunch again next year
Dianne C — Google review
Great location! Nice bartender! Fun atmosphere! Food was mediocre. Coconut fish bites were mushy and too spiced. Looked like they dumped hot sauce on them:( stuffed quahog had very little quahog. I am disappointed. Was here with my best friend so it was still a good time!

We went on 4th of July and again on Saturday, no wait both days! Food is great, the Jonathan’s crab with seaweed salad was the family favorite and order twice! That is a citrus clean dish! Perfect for hot days! Service was fast and friendly, great atmosphere.

Sat one table from the stage, listened to a great singer/guitarist cover all the classic rock and country tunes with perfection. Place gives off a complete beach, party vibe. We enjoyed some icy-cold tropical adult beverages (all of them perfect). Ordered some oysters on the half-shell, tuna tartare, and clams casino. All three served super fresh, a briny mix of perfection, super light and super flavorful. The waitress, friendly and attentive, unobtrusive but always there exactly when needed. Just a perfect dockside experience with my wife!
Rob R — Google review
Food was mediocre at best. The appetizer said Jonah crab but me and my husband both agreed they used Jonah’s cousin pollack (imitation crab) for the $16 dollar app. Also got a lobster roll which lobster was overcooked and the rolls seemed like they were grilled hrs before instead of grilled made to order. There are many other options than this place around. Too bad the quality isn’t there as they have one of the best spots in Newport on the plus side our waitress liv was very friendly and fast with service. The thing we both found odd and unprofessional was there were like 4 girls at the hostess stand on their phones the whole time laughing amongst each-other. I get sometimes there is downtime and you talk to your coworkers at times and have conversations but seemed the whole time they were hanging I was thinking why are yall there maybe you should take note from our waitress liv and do some work as she was running around and maybe help her or one of the other waitresses instead of lounging around. Liv deserves a raise with all the nonsense of this restaurant is my final thought on this place.

Pasta Beach Newport is a charming spot known for its intimate ambiance and delicious pasta dishes dressed in homemade sauces, as well as gourmet thin-crust pies and focaccia panini. The restaurant, owned by the Ropolo family, offers a classic Italian dish called Spaghetti alle Vongole, featuring small and flavorful Italian clams that evoke memories of the beautiful Amalfi Coast.
Pasta Beach in Newport was excellent. I had the gnocchi and the ravioli, both were delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was on point. Easily one of the best Italian meals I’ve had in a while. I’ll be coming back. Five stars.

Pretty good experience! Some of the food fell a little flat but the sausage and smoked mozzarella pasta was incredible. Service was good and attentive. Atmosphere was a little cluttered feeling, but maybe that's because it was during the day. Would go back again just for that pasta dish.

We came here for an early Friday dinner. The carbonara was amazing. The watermelon salad was very good. The vodka pasta was good but didn’t taste like typical vodka sauce that I was expecting. My daughter enjoyed the pepperoni pizza. I was not a fan of the ricotta dip or the meatballs.
Nicole M — Google review
The service and atmosphere was good and everyone was nice. We got salad, confit potatoes, cacio e pepe and creme brulee. The cacio e pepe was okay. Maybw it was because we requested to get all the stuff together, so the pasta started clumping up as it cooled. Other than that, everything was pretty good!
Ankita S — Google review
Tasty Italian dishes, but on the higher end of the price range. The appetizer of Burrata was amazing and the lasagna was delicious and served in a huge portion. The food was fast, but service could have been better.
Lee S — Google review
The decor inside is very nice. The pizza was completely soggy and oily (as you can see in the picture), the pasta was very bland/under seasoned/overcooked considering the price, waste of money. On top of that, the specified complementary bread on the menu wasn't served to us until we asked about it, and recieved a sigh from the server for asking, but it seemed our server Emily was capable of providing it to the tables around us. Mind you they weren't even busy, we were like the 5th table there.

Unfortunately, this place disappointed us. We came to the city for special occasion, but mood of the waitress ruined our day. She was kind of rude and “unhappy” to work with us. Vine was served in plastic cup… and whiskey in regular vodka shot…. We asked not to serve us a tap water, but our voices weren’t heard. Oil bottle had broken and had the part inside
Alina S — Google review
One star and that’s just for the drink. The pizza Quattro was a full-blown dairy crisis. Cheese so thick The tuna? I don’t know what part of the fish that was. The pasta came with frozen peas that tasted like they hadn’t emotionally thawed since Gilded age maximum regret. The staff I didn’t know I booked a speed-dining experience. was mid-meal, drink still full, fork in hand and a staff member comes over to ask if we want the bill.

The Grill at Forty 1° North on Thames Street in Newport is amazing. It’s like another home where they treat us like family. The 2025 Chef, Sue is incredible. If you have been there recently, return and if you haven’t give them another shot this year because it’s the best, most delicious dining experience it’s been in years! The service is top notch, drinks are fabulous, & food is better than years past. There are some new menu items like the redesigned chowder that are absolutely decadent. The clams over spaghetti is a new creamy dreamy dish. The lobster roll was one of the best my friends had ever had. They’re about to release their spring menu and we can’t wait to go back to try everything. The managers and staff are a combination of seasoned professionals who have worked on the island for years and seasonal employees who hold hospitality near, and dear will be added for the busy summer months. We also returned for brunch drinks the next day which were amazing! This location is a hidden gem in Newport for parties of 11+ also. They have an awesome family style prefix dining menu that is sure to satisfy everyone. There are plenty of meat and vegetable options. We’ve held these on the dock in the summer several times and were so satisfied With the entire experiences.

A wonderful dining experience at the Grill at 41 North in downtown Newport. This occasion was particularly special as our friend was returning to Taiwan. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the Food and Beverage Manager, Yahaira. She is a delightful young lady—sweet, kind, and friendly, yet very professional. She ensured we had a great table overlooking the water, and I must say, the sunset was incredible! Even if you're not dining, it's worth a visit for the view. There are plenty of spaces to relax, such as the Oval Bar or Library Bar. The fireplace adds a lovely touch of comfort and coziness. When we sat down, our attentive server, Cristian, welcomed us. He is a talented young man who manages both the dining room and the bar, showcasing impressive skills. The food was superb! The new Executive Chef, Alia Asher, even came out to greet us and introduce herself. The dishes were delicious and beautifully presented, with amazing flavors. To start, we chose the bread service and Caviar Osetra. Unlike many places that serve a ‘cheap version’ of caviar with chips, here it was served in a classic way with homemade Bellinis—truly impressive! For our next course, we had smoked salmon (which also came with homemade Bellinis), tuna tartare (freshly made, topped with a delightful aioli, and accompanied by homemade wonton chips), oysters (served with a special crushed ice mignonette), and a kale salad (the best salad in town so far!). For our entrées, Chef Alia recommended her favorite: the Tomahawk steak, perfectly sliced and served with bone marrow. We also enjoyed scallops and a whole steamed lobster. The pacing of the meal was perfect; we never felt rushed and could savor every bite. We started with cocktails and then moved to an exceptional selection of wines. Overall, this was an unforgettable experience! We are looking forward to see new summer menu created by this very talented Chef! Thank you!

Great food here! Got dinner here on our last night on vacation. We got mudslides they were amazing! I also got Lobster Mac and cheese again since it’s not common from where I live. They have gluten free pasta penne! They were a bit busy but they had the sliding doors open so a lot of fresh air was coming through.

What an amazing experience! This place is friendly and a bit loud. The service was TOP notch. I felt like family as soon as I walked in. The pizza, 😳.... IT'S INCREDIBLE. THE lobster roll is decadent and warm and plain delicious. The wings were AMAZING! The cod with asparagus melted in my mouth 👄. The fried seafood platter was not over-battered and heavy but light and fresh... I tried the Mango wheat tap from the rotating line and it made my pallet do something it's never done.... 😂 I highly recommend but beware it's loud and young and free-spirited... The Mango wheat (tasted like a mango Blue Moon) Whalers Rose beer tasted surprisingly light for an ale!!

It wasn't too busy. The food came out hot and was very delicious. The presentation was good. Most importantly, the food was very good.the view from the restaurant was very good as well. When you fly cross country to the East Coast, land late, and you're still on California time, you're looking for nothing more than a place with a kitchen open late. I found it at the Gas Lamp Grille. Big bonus... The GGG Smashburger on the late night menu is as good a burger as I've ever had. Fries were also perfectly prepared. And Guinness on tap. Can't speak to anything but the late night menu, but if you need a late night meal in Newport, this is the place.

Might be the best deal you're going to get on a lobster roll in Newport. And it's quite good, of course. We also got the fish sandwich, which was excellent! Very fresh fish, super-thin, super-crispy, and nearly greaseless batter coating. So fresh out of the fryer that you could burn yourself on the tender moist fish. I'll bet their fish and chips are spectacular. A nice view of the harbor here, too.

We had a great early dinner, with a gorgeous view. The apps were delicious and the atmosphere was serene and refreshing. Quite surprising that it was not that busy. Minor things: The dessert was not that impressive though; only the espresso gelato was the best thing about it. The drink said it contained mint, but I did not see it or tasted it. The server was over-checking on us, kind of creating a “rush” vibe, even though the restaurant was 3/4 empty. However, for the view, we would go back again.

Dined with 7 friends at dinner time on a Saturday. There was a wedding & reception happening on other side of the outdoor dining which was wonderful to be a part of. Service was average, food was great and the view is amazing. Parking was a little confusing and chaotic as there was only one valet who seemed very flustered and may not have spoken English very well.

The view is amazing! Smelled a little musty when we came in to the restaurant, could be the outdated carpeting. The menu is very simple (which is a plus for me, one is not bombarded with so many choices!) We ordered the tuna ceviche, burger and swordfish club. Food was more than very good and a good portion. We are not locals of the area but decided that after touring the newport mansions we'd give this place a shot. Boy, did we make the right decision. Was visiting Newport from NY and went to Newport Craft Brewing & Distilling Co. on Sunday for our first time. Everything was incredible from the beer and spirits to the service and the space itself was awesome. And we got a great Wallys burger and hot dog to try too. We brought our dog and sat outside on the upper level and saw an amazing sunset overlooking the bridge. It’s also a great place for a football Sunday since they had all of the games playing. Would highly recommend checking it out and getting a beer flight or cocktail and then also getting some beer and a bottle to bring home with you. Shoutout to Sarah and all of the staff for being so great and welcoming with us and our dog!

This was recommended to us by a local, and it was a fun spot. The building is modern and nice and has so many tables, and then when you go outside, you see the water view and we got to see the beautiful sunset. Newport Craft is one of my absolute favorite breweries in Rhode Island, and they made our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks truly unforgettable. The rooftop deck offered immaculate views of Newport, the bar was flowing all night, and their cocktails and beers were 10/10. Tyler and the entire team went above and beyond to make the planning process seamless and the evening itself special. They were incredibly helpful, thoughtful, and attentive to every detail. From start to finish, we felt taken care of and our guests had an amazing experience. This place is pretty tasty, especially if you are looking for some smoked wings. They used to only have one dry rub wing on the menu but just added three new varieties so of course we had to try all four when we went in. I'd say that all three are valuable new additions but if I could only choose one I'd pick the buffalo wings. There is a great craft beer selection to go along with the food as well.

Such an amazing unique, special and delicious meal! We split the juiciest wings - perfect spice - along with the baked pumpkin that was to die for and also had the cucumber salad. More than worth the visit!

Great local spot in Newport! They have a great selection of beer and other beverages. I really enjoyed the live music they have, and it was a great place to spend time with friends and enjoy some great music and beer. I definitely recommend this spot if you're in town!

Ran into Mz Norey on St. Patty's day and she told me about the military discount. Been a regular ever since! Expansive selection of choice brews, and Tyler the chef is FIERCE on that grill!!!

Good food, good drinks. They brew a few beers in house and bring some in from the area as well.

Best beer selection in the state. Always a tap list full of exceptional beers from the US and all over Europe. Food is amazing. The smoked wings are the best around. Handmade pastas are my favorite. Solid vibe inside.

The location and decor earned the 2 star at this establishment. It's a shame the bartender isn't friendly at all. When asked about menu items she is strictly business and will not engage with any of the 5 guests present at this time . The bar offers house brew and draft beers . You cannot sample any of them. It is posted. ' when it pours it's yours. No free samples . This place reads of bad attitude. We are let down. Our pre holiday season date night on Broadway is not off to a welcoming start. Side note . The bartender has not asked if we are enjoying our choice. We are beer lovers from a simple. Budweiser to a double IPA . My choice of the October fest was not a good one . We dine out regularly. We will never return here . We will definitely tell our friends NOT to waste their time or money. I wish I knew how to add pictures to this review.

American restaurant
Bar 'Cino Newport is a cozy Italian restaurant and bar located in the heart of Newport's historic Washington Square. The restaurant offers a laid-back atmosphere with an open kitchen concept and al fresco dining options, providing a European vibe. The menu features Italian specialties such as pizzas, pastas, warm olives, potato chips, grilled endive, tiramisu, and lemon sorbet.
If you are visiting Newport, definitely go here. It is one of the best restaurants in town. We ended up going twice because we loved it so much the first time. The line and constantly packed tables are a testament to how good everything is. The cocktails are phenomenal and any entree is delicious. Not to mention the desserts too. The lemon sorbet was so flavorful. There are so many good things to try. The carrots were my favorite too.
Courtnie P — Google review
Great little restaurant in town with intimate seating and lighting. The staff is friendly and efficient. Drinks are good and food is delicious. The rigatoni bolognese has a meaty sauce and the whole roasted branzino is flavorful but be cautious with all the bones. The seared salmon was tender with a citrus fennel herb salad. We absolutely loved their grilled pizza with prosciutto, fig, arugula, fontina, and gorgonzola. Now for my standard comments. Easy to walk to in town. There is a good amount of seating but it is a bit packed. Still quite comfortable to dine in.

My husband and I got married on 9/21/25 and did a “mini-moon” to Newport and we visited Bar Cino on 9/22/25! We were so excited to celebrate our first day married and the staff at bar cino was so kind and Cassandra and Molly took care of our bill! We couldn’t have been more grateful to Bar Cino, Cassandra and Molly for being so so kind. The food was absolutely spectacular and the service even better. We are so looking forward to coming again! ❤️

Tried the grilled pizza at Bar 'Cino for thr first time. Went with the sausage pizza. Thought it was pretty good. Definitely a unique style of pizza. Had a good crunch and good overall taste. Washed it down with a draft beer. They have a really nice bar set-up. Good service. Nice atmosphere.

Service, food, atmosphere, all so great! The Best pizza and I dont even like pizza. Thin, perfectly crispy crust, full of flavors...yum! The special pasta was great also, mushroom sauce with Bok Choy and spicy sausage. Wow! Sitting outside with just enough wind made it more memorable. Even though we had to wait about 30 mins it was so worth the wait!
Grace L — Google review
I started my meal with the prosciutto fig bruschetta, which was absolutely sensational – the combination of sweet figs and salty prosciutto was perfectly balanced and set the tone for the rest of the meal. The pizza I ordered was a prosciutto fig pizza with a super thin, grilled crust that was cut with scissors, giving it a unique texture and a delightful crunch. The flavors of the pizza surprised me with how well they blended, each bite better than the last. I then moved on to a spaghetti carbonara that was truly outstanding – creamy, rich, and with just the right amount of peppery bite to bring it all together. It was one of the best versions of carbonara I’ve had in a while. For dessert, I had an affogato that was good but not particularly memorable, and a lemon tart that, while okay, didn’t quite match the exceptional level of everything else we’d had up to that point. All in all, I was genuinely surprised by the overall quality of the food at Barcino – I didn’t expect such a high standard in this spot. From the impressive bruschetta to the excellent pizza and pasta, this meal was a wonderful discovery.

Celtica Irish Pub is a cozy dockside spot located on Long Wharf in Newport, near the Marriott. It offers classic New England food and pizza, along with entertainment like karaoke, pool, darts, and trivia. The pub has a typical Irish atmosphere with Guinness pints, flat-screen TVs for sports viewing, and comfortable leather couches. While it has a limited menu currently, the food is consistently good and there's a friendly staff to enhance the casual vibe.
This bar is so much fun. The karaoke bar is alot of fun. Bar pizza isn't bad. Typical brew selection. Pitchers available. No wait staff place your order with the bartender and barstaff drops off your order. Fun place .love the disco ball

Bar and Board Bistro is a casual dining spot that offers custom charcuterie boards and bar snacks, along with an extensive wine selection. The restaurant, owned by Carolyn Rafaelian, seamlessly blends historic allure with modern aesthetics. Situated on Thames Street, it occupies a former bank building and features unique elements like a large bank vault door on the ground floor. The Leopard Lounge on the second floor provides stunning views of downtown Newport.
Another gem in downtown Newport. The food here was absolutely Amazing!!! The foccacia bread was so good. I got the steak and it was delicious. The cocktails were super good as well. This place is a must if you are in Newport!!!

Went to bar and board last month for my birthday with a few friends and sister. We sat upstairs at the bar and had some really great drinks. Our cheese board was nice (and tasty), but the wings were not good at all. I also didn’t realize we had to pay for the added items outside of the cheese and meats (when we were offered them I thought it was just part of the board and said sure). I think next time we would just stick to drinks. Overall, i would go back for the vibes, views, drinks and service.

I had such a great experience here on a Friday night! Not only was the food amazing, but they also had live music, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. I ordered the grilled chicken with Caesar salad, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, and the salad was fresh, crisp, and topped with just the right amount of parmesan. The waiting time was awesome — my food came out quickly, and the service was friendly and attentive the whole time. The service was friendly and attentive, and the live music created such a fun and welcoming vibe. It was the perfect combination of great food, great service, and great ambiance. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends! For dessert, I had the most indulgent treat a rich brownie topped with creamy ice cream, drizzled in caramel and chocolate, sprinkled with nuts, and finished with swirls of whipped cream. Every bite was a perfect balance of warm and cold, sweet and nutty. It was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked!

Enjoyed my dinner here with my parents. Our waitress was great and really sweet! I really enjoyed the board we got and the drinks, the enclosed porch was great to sit and people watch.
Kels D — Google review
Meatball Trio and colossal shrimp were excellent. Sea bass special was good once salted - very bland upon delivery, and the lobster role was inconsistent throughout - some bites were tender and buttery and others dry, chewy and lacking flavor. The smash burger (not pictured) was just ok. We received our food before drinks, had empty water glasses most of the time, and our server forgot two or three time each: silverware (we ended up taking from the server station), water, salt, and a to go box. Good location and spot for people watching through the windows.

Highly recommend! As visitors, we wanted a place for dinner that was in the heart of downtown but didn't feel touristy. The lasagna bianca was absolutely delicious as was the salmon! Even though we were full, we had to try the bread pudding -- we savored every moist, rich, satisfying bite. (The portion was so generous that we took some home for later!) I am a foodie at heart and was so glad we ate here, sitting in the tasteful bar area overlooking cobblestone streets with docks across the street.

Stopped in here twice the week of 9/14/25 stumbled into the bar Sunday evening because we heard the live Jazz from the street. Had excellent cocktails at the bar while enjoying the music. Spoke with chef, Andrew and he talked us into visiting later in the week on Taco Tuesday, which we did. We loved the Birria Tacos and Salmon entree. I also want to give a shoutout to our server Connor, he was excellent as well. The whole vibe of this restaurant is classy and fun. While the food and drinks are just as enjoyable! We will definitely be back next time we’re in Newport.

From the moment we walked in the door, it was the coolest vibe in Newport. We sat at the bar with Jonah and Angel because we didn't have a reservation on a busy Friday night, had great drinks. Manager came and grabbed us as she was able to seat us with Sailor, probably one of the best service we ever had. Such a beautiful place with great music.

After a disappointing first visit, we were invited back for a complimentary six-course meal with tequila pairings. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive, which made the evening enjoyable. Our server was also very knowledgeable about the various tequila we enjoyed. The appetizers were flavorful and well-prepared, while the main dishes and desserts were pleasant, though not as memorable. We appreciate the restaurant making the effort to provide a much better experience this time.

First came here because of the vegetarian and gluten free menus, makes it so easy when people have diet restrictions! I always say I'm going to try something new, but I end up getting the veggie nachos every time, they are so good!! Everyone I go with has liked their food too, never any complaints. Nestled within the luxurious Vanderbilt Grace Hotel, The Dining Room at The Vanderbilt offers a sophisticated dining experience that beautifully marries elegance with comfort. This intimate space is adorned with rich navy walls and plush leather club chairs, creating a romantic ambiance perfect for any occasion. Under the culinary guidance of Executive Chef Timothy Caspare, guests can indulge in an array of elevated American dishes that are both innovative and delightful.
We went to the Newport Hour, the Vanderbilt’s version of Happy Hour on a Friday night this winter. We got the first seats at the bar which filled up quickly. The mixologists were awesome. Drinks were delicious. We tried several from their curated menu. The ambiance is great. The classy, classic setting combines history with modern menu twists. The anchovy toast was magical, oysters fresh & delicious, bread and butter was dreamy. We were a mix of couples, & friends.

We had such a great experience at the Vanderbilt dining room. The atmosphere was dark and moody in the best way — it gave off a true old money vibe that made the whole night feel a little more special. We started with raw oysters, clams, and Old Bay cocktail shrimp, and everything was sooo good — super fresh and flavorful. We also split a Caesar salad (because why not?) before diving into our main dinner, which we picked off the specials list: steak frites, cooked perfectly medium rare. Every bite was delicious. Already looking forward to coming back!

LOVED absolutely everything about this place! I am sad that I count try everything. The servers and staff was very considerate. Having explained about portions and being vegetarian...they did everything they could to accommodate it without us having to request. The food was delicious! I am in awe of the Ribolitta they served and would love to shout out about it from the Newport lighthouses. I could not take better pictures due to the lighting. The prices are competitive with other restaurants in the area and is nothing over the top. I would have been more cognizant about dress code, but we had been traveling and were exhausted. Definitely would be coming here again. Highly highly recommend!

I made reservations and visited for brunch with my family. Quite a charming resort and dining area, wonderfully decorated and had a very welcoming feel. The brunch was very good and the cocktails were outstanding. The service was impeccable, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I will certainly visit this place again for a meal and hopefully stay the weekend in the near future.

Three in my party dined here and all had an amazing meal. The quality of the food was outstanding. We started with shrimp cocktail, smoke haddock croquettes, and garden salad. All excellent. The main courses consisted of duck which was cooked perfectly as was the ribeye for two. I selected the Frenzy Sauvignon Blanc and was very pleased. For dessert we tried collectively the sticky toffee pudding. It was a spice cake with coffee ice cream and a caramel base. All in all the ambience was excellent and staff was good as well.

When you want to escape the tourist riff raf of Newport and enjoy an elegant old world dining room, look no further than here. The ambiance is 1st class, without being pretentious and quiet where you can actually hold a conversation over dinner. The cocktails we started off with were all expertly made, I had the sweet heat while my friend ordered the nomadic old fashioned and my wife ordered the paper tiger. For food we had 2 Royal’s(burgers) and they were ligit, so so good. My wife had the Harry’s Bar Ham & Gruyère, very, very good. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Allan D — Google review
No surprises here. An atmosphere of luxury from the past is evident in all areas of the property that we were able to see during our brief visit. We were on a cruise, reached port early in the day, and made the short trek to The Vanderbilt for breakfast. Quiet, subdued luxury is the vibe here. Standard breakfast fare is offered. Our meals were well prepared and presented nicely. Service was fast and friendly. The price was consistent with a meal from an establishment that has the name "Vanderbilt". All-in-all a nice experience at a price I expected.

I visited the shop today, hoping to purchase cheese. Based upon the photo display, they had a wonderful selection. I arrived only to find that there were a couple of shelves in a closed refrigerator on one side and perhaps two shelves on the other very sparse. Nothing of interest. Nothing exciting. And insulting to have someone walk to their shop only to find, but I would consider a terrible selection of cheese. Well, not huge. The selection of wine was interesting.

If ever there was a hidden gem, this is it! Tucked away behind Memorial Boulevard on Merton Road is this unassuming little shop offering quality gourmet food and a carefully curated selection of fine, affordable wine from around the globe. I was impressed with the variety they were able to fit in this cozy little space. Jon (sp?) spent a generous amount of time answering my questions and getting to know my tastes to point me in the direction of wines I might enjoy. I wasn't able to take the wine with me right away and they gladly held it for me until I could return with my car. Overall, a wonderful experience and I hope I get the chance to visit again in the near future.

This is a great shop if you're looking for artisanal cheeses. Very wide variety of fantastic cheeses from all around the world. This is a new location that they move to within the last couple of years which is much bigger than the old location in the more crowded shopping district. The Chanler at Cliff Walk is a luxurious hotel located along the iconic Cliff Walk in Newport, RI. Housed in a 19th-century mansion, this opulent property offers 20 uniquely designed rooms filled with antiques and upscale amenities. The hotel boasts breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, acres of manicured gardens, and a historic charm that exudes old-world grandeur. Each room features a fireplace, private hot tubs, and heated bathroom floors for ultimate comfort.
An unforgettable honeymoon experience! We spent two nights at The Chandler at Cliff in Newport this past October for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely magical. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, personal, and attentive — they truly made us feel special. The hotel itself is stunning — elegant, historic, and perched right on the cliffs with breathtaking ocean views. The location alone is worth the trip, but what really stood out was the food. The lobster was hands-down some of the best we’ve ever had — fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Everything about our stay felt thoughtful and unique, from the charming rooms to the little details that made our celebration feel extra memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to start our married life. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway or special occasion. We’ll definitely be back!
Yann C — Google review
We had a mostly great stay here, in Martha Vineyard! The service was top-notch—everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Housekeeping really impressed us with their attention to detail; the room was clean, fresh, and nicely set up. It had a cozy, comfortable feel that made it easy to settle in and relax. There were a couple of hiccups during our stay. Unfortunately, we did encounter some bugs—ants near the wet bar and bathroom, spiders around the hot tub, and flies on the porch. We're not fans of bugs, so this was definitely a downside and took away from the overall comfort. Additionally, the jacuzzi tub didn’t drain properly the first night, though that issue was resolved afterward. That said, the warm hospitality and attention to cleanliness truly stood out. With improved pest control and a bit more maintenance, this could be an excellent getaway spot. We suggest to maybe opt for a room instead of a villa to avoid the bugs.

We stopped by after the cliff walk for a pizza, but ended up not getting it. While the view is very nice, the servers, the waiters, and the other clientele all have a certain demeanour to them. Specifically, this place caters to a certain demographic, and will give you second class service if you are not clearly part of that demographic. It feels very unwelcoming. Finally, the wait for a simple pepperoni was 35 minutes! Would not recommend.
Eric Z — Google review
When my husband booked this location I thought Wow thats expensive. He didn't tell me about the cost because he knows I wouldn't have said yes to spending that much a night. Im more frugal lol OK that being said, this hotel is amazing in every way. I was worried I wasn't fancy enough but the staff wasn't fake nice they were genuine and kind and interesting. This is important to me . The historical beauty was stunning. The lawn and the view! The easy access to the beach and the cliff walk was perfect. The food was delicious! I couldn't say more!

We stayed back in May and could not have asked for a better stay. The staff is amazing, we absolutely loved our room, the drinks and breakfast were so so good! The cliff walk is just outside the door! We were between here and other top hotels in the area for our stay and I am so glad we chose here.

Stunning restaurant but when you pay $60 for two glasses of wine , plus the and $8 for a club soda, not including the tip ...you feel a little taken. Especially when they tell you you can't sit on the lawn chairs, even when they are two thirds empty. Bad policy for paying customers. Who charges $8 for club soda for the DD? I mean, come on! Disappointing.
Theresa K — Google review
Exceeded our expectations!! The service was absolutely incredible, the room was beautiful with a bathtub overlooking the beach. The staff are more accommodating and friendly - shout out to Paige and Jake. Absolutely recommend.

We tried the wine garden/lawn for the first time this summer. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. We waited 30+ minutes for service to the lawn chairs and were told we could not go to the bar to get our drinks and had to wait on the lawn. We wanted to order pizza but they said it would be over an hour. We ordered a very sad, expensive cheese board that was $35. We were then rushed out and told that they were closing early. Overall it was not the best experience.

Wrong room. Dishonesty. Neglect. An inferior room than advertised, booked, and paid for, was initially provided. The concierge even claimed that the wrong room was right. The cleaning staff and direct observation contradicted the assertion. The correct substitute room was ultimately provided. However, only after repeatedly requesting it from different concierge representatives; neither of which was aware of the other’s alleged note of the promise; neither of which phone called, as promised, to make the change. Otherwise, largely a good place.

Wish I could rate it higher but it is what it is. Super pricey spot that is just kind of old. Dated, cramped rooms that are in need of a much needed makeover. My room was super dark, even with the shades drawn wide open. My TV was broken along with the phone. A/C was ice cold which was nice. The outdoor pool was spectacular and obviously the main draw to staying here. There are plenty of nicer places but what's the point if you're there in summer and not getting some rays and pooling. Indoor pool was hot and muggy, a little ventilation would go a long way. The staff was amazing and the food was fantastic. I brought our dog and it was totally pet friendly and super convenient. Plenty of nice grassy spots. I'd stay there again but was just expecting more for an establishment with this price. Needless to say, the views and location make it.

We enjoyed our stay here near the holidays and particularly appreciated the staff. From the bar tenders, to the front desk staff, to the shuttle drivers and valets, everyone was so helpful and accommodating. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, and the view was gorgeous, but the bathroom was tiny and had 1 hook in the entire room and almost no counter space,. The bedroom itself was dark and could have used another lamp or 2. Small concerns but our stay certainly wasn't inexpensive. We didn’t have time to eat in the main restaurant but the bar was cozy and lively and the food was great.

We had an Amazing experience. Our Room had a great view. The service was excellent. Friendly and helpful. We had an Amazing dinner. The sea bass and oysters were to die for. Breakfast is a must. The smoked salmon toast was the best. Bring your wallet as the meals are expensive. Worth every penny of it. The service was above par. The waiter was very knowledgeable. Can't say enough about this stay. Perfect get away!

The Brenton Hotel is a sophisticated waterfront hotel located at the intersection of Americas Cup Avenue and Long Wharf in Newport. It offers 57 modern rooms and a penthouse-level suite, all with nautical-chic vibes and stunning views of Newport Harbor. The rooms feature king beds facing floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies with harbor views, chaise sitting areas, and picnic-style room service.
Our stay at The Brenton Hotel in Newport was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and pampered. The amenities were absolutely fabulous—everything from the room decor, hotel furnishings, to the on-site offerings reflected thoughtful attention to detail. A special shout-out to Aidan at the front desk, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. His professionalism and warmth set the tone for the entire visit. It’s rare to encounter such genuine hospitality, and it made all the difference. The food and beverages were absolutely delicious, adding yet another layer of enjoyment to an already outstanding stay. Whether it was a morning coffee or an evening cocktail, everything was top quality. The service at the bar was just as impressive. Aidan at the bar was amazing—friendly, attentive, and made each visit a real pleasure. Overall, a wonderful experience. I highly recommend The Brenton Hotel to anyone visiting Newport—whether for business or leisure, you’ll be well taken care of.

We held our wedding ceremony on the rooftop of The Brenton and the entire staff made sure that our wedding and our stay was absolutely perfect. We have the best pictures and were able to use the rooftop bar easily. We had one of the suites for getting ready and the room was beautiful - spacious, welcoming, and very functional. We used the in-house catering for a breakfast spread delivered to the room (delicious and generous portions). We also had the in-house kitchen prepare charcuterie and snacks for us to take on a sailboat; the concierge car delivered it to the boat and made everything so easy. A huge thank you to Rachael and the entire Brenton team - it was our dream wedding and we can't wait to come back again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our stay at The Brenton Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island was exceptional. The room was beautiful—crisp, clean, and thoughtfully designed—with a stunning balcony overlooking the harbor. Every detail felt fresh and luxurious, from the in-room coffee and freshwater to the nightly ice cream treats. The service was top-notch, and the valet team was friendly and efficient. The Brenton has that rare boutique charm—elegant, welcoming, and full of personality. When you’re in Newport, it’s a blessed day at The Brenton.

My spouse and I spent two nights in early September 2025. The entrance is confusing on the first floor, since there is nobody there to greet you. Or any sign indicating where is the hotel reception?? Everybody is on the second floor, including the missing concierge, and the twenty-some front desk persons who haven't got a clue of the surroundings or the amenities. The location is prime, and that is where it all ends. The food is extremely limited with lots of starches, and semi-prefab "small portions". The valet parking is very convenient at $40 extra a day! The rooms are nice for the price, if you would like to share your morning duties through a see-through glass enclosure. There's a clock In the room that hides a telephone but unless you are clairvoyant you could not figure it out, and no mention of it anywhere. Some items in the room are complimentary and others are not, but pricey, and you would have to be a rocket scientist to figure one from the other - (very confusing - badly written.) No newspapers available anywhere in the premises (after asking for it , the response was - we have trouble being delivered to us?? However ,we saw newspapers everywhere nearby in stores and hotels! So what is the real issue? The bar is well stocked by experienced bartender(s) and expensive. Free breakfast is advertised as minimum $ 30 per person ?? ( you mean maximum $30 pp? with tips, tax and extras to be added.) Cup of coffee is $8.00 (what? you're not Starbucks ++) The printed material in the hotel is vague and poorly written, leaving one to wonder who wrote this, and what their education or intention was. Since it's a high priced - luxury accommodation, I wish they would have taken more care of the details. Overall a 6.out of 10 ( hype vs. reality.) Try it if you'd like a sub-premium experience for a premium cost!!

Luxury hotel in a woderful location with views of the harbor. Staff was welcoming and gave us great information about what to see and do in the area. A small issue with our room was addressed quickly and completely by the manager. We'll absolutely be back.
Ann B — Google review
Our room was a corner king and HUGE. I could not believe the size. Staff was exceptional: valet offered us cold water ever time we left or entered the hotel, and the overnight front desk person, Juan, was super kind when we were accidentally locked out of room by malfunctioning lock on a difficult late night. The hotel seemed to be new and doing a great job at establishing a strong reputation for itself. Location couldn't be better, and dog-friendly accommodations made the trip easy and fun with a small dog.

Stayed three nights for a wedding weekend. Wonderful and comfy hotel in great location. Love the "living room" overlooking the water and spectacular roof deck. Service was absolutely top notch. MacKenzie was particularly helpful. We will be back!!

A year ago, my husband and I booked the Brenton Hotel as the site to celebrate our 70th birthdays with our three children, their spouses and their families. We very much looked forward to having the opportunity to be in Newport together (where my husband and I got engaged 44 years ago!) to celebrate the beginning of the “season of 70.” The Brenton Hotel was an outstanding venue that enabled us to enjoy an unforgettable five days together!! At our request, they arranged our four harbor-view rooms together in a row so that our family could have easy access to one another. This property, which is right in the heart of hdowntown, was exactly what we hoped for— and more!! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in accommodating our every need. Kathy, the concierge, actually helped our kids arrange for an entire display in our room to surprise us when we arrived. Throughout the weekend, Kathy did other thoughtful things to celebrate us! She is a real doll (so pleasant!) and is to be commended for her attention to detail and knowing how to provide unparalleled service. Our family chose to have several meals in the Living Room area, and we were treated to excellent service and meals, no small task with a six year-old, a four-year-old, and a two year-old in tow. Bar service was exemplary, and Aidan was very outgoing and generous with his time and suggestions about good places to dine. Juan was also super-pleasant and all-around phenomenal! The entire staff (from the valets, to the front desk, to housekeeping) was cheerful, outgoing, and helpful at every turn. Our family couldn’t have had a more memorable time together, and we credit our experiences at the Brenton Hotel for helping to make it all possible!! Our heartfelt thanks to the entire Brenton team!! We look forward to returning during our next trip to Newport!!

Fluke Newport is a prestigious seafood restaurant with breathtaking harbor views. It serves creative, seasonally-inspired dishes made with fresh local seafood. The casual oceanfront establishment has an ironic and stylish upstairs bar that offers beautiful vistas over the bay.
From the start a WARM GREETING from owners Jeff & Geremie Cocktails Creative, Appitizers Fried Oysters and Cold Corn Soup set the mood with their Crispy Texture and Sauce providing nice heat, the Corn Soup offered a Sweet & Creamie balance with a Remarkable Finish with a Smear of Basil Oil. Entrees came and the Celebration became Center Stage starting with Perfectly Grilled Black Sea Bass & Lemon Curd, Arugula Pesto Risotto Wild Caught Shrimp. Mussels & Scallops, then my dish the Seared Sea Scallops with Pillowy Hand Cut Gnocchi with their Melt in your Mouth Texture was Heavenly. A Perfect Meal for a Perfect Evening. Our first day in Newport for our short 3 Day Excursion the Bar was set high for our next few days of Dinning. 🍸🍷🍽

Amazing staff! The wine list is extensive but they'll give you great recommendations and then let you try before you buy. Even just the different types of appetizer bread were scrumptious and the food was equally as lovely. Great atmosphere, and easy location on the wharf

Restaurant
"The Revolving Door" is a sophisticated tavern offering New American cuisine, seasonal cocktails, and craft beer. The establishment has garnered a loyal following for its signature cocktail, the Dewolf of Thames Street, which features aged rum, coconut milk, red miso, orgeat, and mint. With four restaurants to choose from under one order when ordering online, it's convenient for families. Visitors praise the delicious food and excellent service.
Don't order the Raviloi, tasteless, watery, but everything else was excellent, NY Strip, Hanger steak, Lobster tail, broccolini fantastic, tasty, perfectly cooked. Head cook? very interested in making sure you have a great experience. Definitely will return.

Lovely outdoor patio, best for evening dining in the summer. Service was good. the entrees are limited, but I think this represented the chef's desire to do a few things well. Our appetizers were well prepared and seasoned. Prices are a little higher than most on Thames, but quality is higher too.

The ambiance is perfect, lots of windows an urban flare. The staff is great. My appetizer Soft Shell Crab was excellent. Cocktail nice. However, my choice of entree Pork Malanese was good, tender...too much fat, hold back the Lima Beans ☺ . The side of fried rice would have been good, nicely made with lots of bacon, but too dry for my taste. Overall, it's a great place, will definitely come back. A must dine here.

Wonderful, unique restaurant with a unique concept; the chef changes every couple of weeks. The place is small, which creates a nice intimate setting, but they are also able to accommodate larger parties if you give them enough notice. We've never had a bad meal here; definitely our favorite restaurant of all time!

Great idea for a restaurant. Had their house menu. Food portions are not huge, which is great. I was certainly still full when I left. Homemade bread was amazing! Service is not the quickest. I recommend sitting at the kitchen bar for the best experience.

Steak was Al right, a bit tough. Overall a good experience, but probably not a dinner that one will remember. Also, Something need to be done about the desserts menu asap - nothing to choose from ( there are 3 options) and what is on the menu is not impressive
