Founders Brewing Co is a renowned craft brewery located in Grand Rapids, offering a spacious hangout with views of the brewing facilities and serving delectable sandwiches. The company has experienced remarkable growth over the years, becoming one of the largest craft breweries globally with distribution in numerous countries and states. Known for their popular All Day IPA, which is the top-selling session IPA worldwide and ranks fourth among all IPAs, Founders Brewing Co continues to expand its reach.
Founders Brewing Co. has a very nice taproom. The menu is fairly broad and includes salads, bowls, skillets, burgers, and platters. For those with celiac, they have gluten free options highlighted on the menu. Mentioned this to Hannah our waitress and she found the recipe had changed and made an alteration to our order. Also vegetarian options highlighted on menu. The beer selection is good as you would expect. Music a bit loud and not to my taste, but not a huge problem. Waitstaff very attentive. Great place for a meal.

Breweries are not my go to thing but I tagged along because my husband and dad wanted to go. Everything got the “I want to return” ratings… the beers, the food (looks simple but flavorful) , the service, and the atmosphere. Highly recommend, especially if it’s your first day in the city visiting.
Adriana E — Google review
WOW this is an amazing brewery. They do all the brewing on site. The outdoors seating is so nice with great views. If you like sports they have plenty of televisions to watch your favorite team. You definitely have to make a trip here to see how beautiful this place is. The brussel sprouts were amazing. We had a great time and a great server.
Damon R — Google review
Most breweries can make a good beer. A lot of breweries can make one great beer. Very few can make several really great beers. In my rankings, Founders is #1. This location is first-class all the way! I was a little surprised - you're not gonna drink on the cheap, but really the prices aren't bad for quality of beer and environment that you're getting. I very much wish I lived closer. One question: My receipt and Google Maps do not agree on the street name. When did the street get renamed, and why?
Ken S — Google review
Stopped in while out of town to visit as a bucket list item. Great place! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, great food, kind and efficient staff, and of course excellent beer! If we lived in the area we would be here a lot!
Brett S — Google review
This is one of the best Brew Pubs I have visited. The Dirty Bastard Scottish Ale is excellent. The building is huge and has a wide selection of seating indoors and outdoors. There are 3 bars. I enjoyed the fried cheese curds.
Richard T — Google review
When in Grand Rapids it is a must to go to Founders. This is large restaurant with good service and beer. Lots of merchandise if you want to buy something. Parking is a little weird with having to drive by the place and down another street. I really liked the beer flights to try all of different beers.
Matt H — Google review
Very nice place, it is a little higher in price, but it is all craft beers so it's to be expected!! The people were very kind and even offered a sample of what I was looking at to drink before I actually ordered it so that was really nice!! You can sit inside or outside, but can still be out of the direct sunlight which was super nice!! The place is done up very nicely!! I look forward to going back and would definitely recommend it to others!!

Tapas restaurant
San Chez A Tapas Bistro is a vibrant and casual eatery that specializes in Mediterranean, Spanish, and Latin American cuisine. The restaurant offers a variety of small sharing plates and tapas in a fun, laid-back atmosphere with colorful decor.
Pricey for the portion that you get, but the taste is worth the trip! The goat cheese appetizer paired with the baguette was so simple, yet so good. Definitely a must to start the meal. Also recommend the peppered steak with the tortellini. It was cooked perfectly! Least favorite was the ahi tuna. Couldn’t taste much jerk and was not a fan of the chunky carrots. Definitely will be back to try more!

First visit to Grand Rapids—impressed w service, drinks, and food here. Liked the atmosphere except music was a little bit loud. Loved their fresh salad w red grapes, blue cheese, and honey toasted cashews. My friend and I really loved the small plate dishes! All were great!
D H — Google review
Stopped in for dinner while visiting from out of town. They were debuting a new menu the night we came. We tried several of the new dishes. Everything was delicious but the acorn dish really stood out. The service was friendly and efficient as well. We really enjoyed our time here and would return!
Brett S — Google review
Had a great time! The food was great, service absolutely top-tier, and there are truly options for everybody! I had multiple dishes pictured, but my absolute FAV was definitely the empanadas. I would order them all on their own to-go! They blew me away! I suggest grabbing a few dishes, as it is a tapas restaurant, so you should come with a family style dinner mindset! (Which I personally love) Also, I shared a video of the introduction they give when they bring over your paella/tapas dishes. He was so kind and well-spoken! I just thought it was the sweetest thing. 12/10, will be back!
Gabby J — Google review
The chef creates uniquely yummy food, but the price is high. They have a unique presentation. The food is hearty and very satisfying. The kitchen does a great job with the pork. The steak dish is a full meal. Also, the shrimp are well taken care of and slightly delightfully sweet. They offer a scrumptious chocolate peanut butter dessert.
Claire G — Google review
San Chez Bistro is beautiful inside and out. Their staff is knowledgeable about allergies, and they have a guide to the major allergens that tells you what is safe to eat (green), what you can eat with modifications (yellow), or what you can't eat (red). If you need a modification, it tells you what modifications need to be made. The food was delicious, I had the vieiras y tocino which is seared scallops and pork bełly. I also had a side of gluten free bread which came with a delicious dipping sauce. My mom had the Queso De Cabra which is baked goat cheese, tomato sauce, and garlic toast. The waitress did inform us that it could be made gluten-free by using the gluten-free bread but she went with the garlic bread instead. The decor inside the restaurant is beautiful and even in the bathroom there are many murals which make it an enjoyable experience wherever you go 😆.

Brunch or tapas. You can’t go wrong. I’ve been when everything was perfect. Only once I’ve been when a couple items are less than par. Overall, we are usually very happy when eating here.
Jenessa — Google review
This was the first time I've been to San Chez! My friend Teresa told me about this restaurant and we finally got a chance to go there together. We had two different types of shrimp dishes, on steak dish, pork belly, potato balls, dates filled with goat cheese, we gave the bartender free reign on rum drinks 🍸, and one very large beer! Everything was amazing. The wait staff was attentive, and we also had her bring dishes when we picked out the main protein part. She made so many amazing choices for us. We had one person in our group who has some dietary restrictions, and the chef even came out to talk to us about some options. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I really want to come back. I even tried absinthe for the first time.

Cottage Bar, located just off East Fulton in Grand Rapids, is a historic pub and restaurant with an 80-year history. This charming wood-and-stone-trimmed establishment is renowned for its Michigan beers and delicious burgers. The cozy atmosphere, created by dark paneling on the walls and an original Art Deco mahogany bar, adds to its appeal.
Awesome dive bar in downtown GR. Close to Van Andel so it’s perfect for drinks and food prior to a game or show. Service was great and very friendly. We asked for other dive bars in the area and all 3 servers were quick to suggest places and make conversation

The place is amazing with fire pit ! Cottage burger was fantastic 👌🏾 Little disappointed with no availability of fish or chicken corn dog. $17 for 2 strips of chicken and calling it a burger wasn’t nice ! Lady taking our order wasn’t attentive , overall , not the right time for us.

Went here for lunch with a friend. It was ok. A little over priced for what I got. Potatoes were very bland. Just chunks that were over roasted. Didn't taste like there was much seasoning. The sandwich was fine. My friend really liked the beef stew. I do like the atmosphere here. After we asked for the bill it took about 10 minutes to get it, which wasn't great. Their burgers are really good here though.
Dave T — Google review
I dropped by for a quick dinner on a Thursday evening, and I was happy with my meal. The place has been in business a long time, and the interior is cozy with a nice old bar. The staff was friendly, and the prices weren’t too bad considering how things are these days. I got the cottage burger (an olive burger variant) along with a cup of the chili blanco. Both were excellent. The whole place had a nice warm feel. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the area and you’re looking for a comfortable meal.

Delicious! We went for a late lunch on the first day of fall. We sat comfortably on their patio and had fabulous service. The burgers we ordered were cooked exactly as requested (medium-rare), the tots and cottage fries were addictive and drinks were nice and strong. The entire experience was perfect and we're looking forward to going back!
Mrs. B — Google review
Very dark inside which I I enjoy if you have trouble seeing or wear glasses, you may need to use your phone flashlight to read the menu. Me and my wife stopped in for lunch. We got the cottage burger and waffle fries plus a Coke. I was surprised when my bill came out to $52.. the waffle fries tasted like they had the flavor of bad oil and in my opinion the burger was not that great. The burger patty was small. I enjoy good food and don’t mind paying fort it but when I left here, I felt like I was robbed.
Ke R — Google review
I sat on their very cozy side-patio for a quick solo dinner and enjoyed the charm and privacy of the setting. I’ve hear this is one of, if not the oldest bar in Grand Rapids. The black bean burger & fries were great - I’ll definitely be back, hopefully on the patio again!
Michael B — Google review
The burgers are super super good! I got a Mac n cheese burger and it was to die for. The cottage fries are like American fries and not special. They were good but not great. They do not have any birthday specials :-( the beer selection is decent.

HopCat Grand Rapids is a renowned brew pub located in downtown Grand Rapids, with an additional location at Knapp's Corner. It was one of the first multi-tap 'beer bars' with an extensive bottle list when it opened in 2008. Since then, it has expanded to 17 locations throughout the Midwest and beyond. The original location offers a woodwork-filled ambiance and serves creative pub fare and brunch items.
This place is freaking amazing. We visited for my husband's birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. LEGITIMATELY the best burgers we've had in a very long time and the truffle parm fried we're just right. One of the kids had lobster Mac and cheese and Dad and I had a bite... We'll now have to go back for our own! 😂 The atmosphere is fun and they have an amazing mural created from bottle caps which is a necessity to see.

Awesome bar! Great convenient location. Really fills a need for a true bar setting. Good cocktail menu, plentiful beer menu. Great staff, very friendly. I loved this place and had a great time. The Porter I ordered was meh, but that’s not a ding against HopCat.

20 out 10. I mean top tear service to start. The food was hand crafted and phenomenal!I had the hangover burger and substituted the pretzel roll for a biscuit. When I say best burger i have ever hand i swear by it. HOPCAT THANK YOU!

This place has got great vibes and a great atmosphere. Theres so much to look at inside and the decor all just melds so well with each other. The burger was well made and the fries were top notch as well. All washed down with a local brew, made this fella one happy customer.

Amanda and the girls are great could have asked for anyone better to serve me.... I will say very classy and reserved with a upscale hipster vibe..food was awesome I had the Hangover Helper a 2 patty burger with a fried egg and hash cake and garlic aioli....

Update: Chloe the AGM reached out directly via phone and left me a very genuine and sincere voicemail once I reached out via email. It was within hours of me sending the email that I received the call. They are remedying the situation and going above and beyond to make me want to continue my business with them. Again Chloe has been absolutely amazing!! Will update food review once I am able to get back down there which will be soon!! Love this bar and love the vibes. However I ordered from Uber Eats and there were bits of plastic in my Dirty Martini Burger as well as me ordering Killer Cosmic Fries and I received Mac n Cheese instead. I’m hoping that there can be some form of remedy.

Was busy before the concert. Many people waiting for table saying a 45 min wait. We waited maybe 15 min. Atmosphere was warm and friendly. Food and drinks came quickly.. They were on the ball getting us in and out ontime. Fries were great! Needed 2 hands for the burger. It tasted as good as it looked..maybe could have used more sauce. I would recommend this place...uodate 9.4.25...another concert.. was told 45m for table..only took 15m... food took a little bit to come..but tasted good... they out of many beers.

Fine dining restaurant
Bistro Bella Vita, located in downtown Grand Rapids, offers a warm and airy atmosphere with a focus on farm-to-table Mediterranean dishes. The restaurant prides itself on delivering an exceptional dining experience with top-notch service, whether it's a casual meal with friends or an elegant chef's table dinner. The culinary team creates authentic recipes using fresh, natural ingredients sourced from local farmers.
Of course! Here’s a casual four-star review you can use for Bistro Bella Vita in Grand Rapids: Five Stars - Great Food, Great People, and Allergy-Friendly Too Really solid spot in downtown Grand Rapids. Bistro Bella Vita has some amazing food—especially their pastas and pizzas, which are definitely worth the trip alone. The pasta is always cooked just right, and the flavors are on point. I also highly recommend checking out their weekly specials. I’ve tried things there I normally wouldn’t order, and I’ve never been disappointed. One thing I really appreciated is how well they handled food allergies. The staff was super accommodating and made us feel totally at ease, which isn’t always the case at restaurants. The atmosphere is really nice—comfortable but still has that “special night out” feel. And the servers are excellent: friendly, knowledgeable, and just genuinely nice people. All around a great place to grab dinner. Will definitely be back!
Randy P — Google review
We stopped here to grab a cocktail and sit outside since it was so nice out. We were greeted quickly and our server with the beautiful curly hair was really friendly. She helped my sister pick out a cocktail based on her preferences and gave us some recommendations. We didn’t eat any food because we just had lunch but I’ve heard their martinis were good so we wanted to come check it out. Both our drinks were delicious! I’m a sucker for a drink with a house made shrub! We gotta come back next time to try their food!
Nina C — Google review
Wow! We had an overnight in Grand Rapids and found this restaurant while walking around downtown. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat without feeling “stuffy”. We chose to sit outside for our dinner, and the patio seating was perfect for the amazing weather that early evening. Our server was friendly and offered suggestions and made us feel welcomed. We ordered the bruschetta to split and it was delicious! I opted for a simple meal for dinner and the Margherita pizza did not disappoint! It reminded me of the pizza I had while in Naples, Italy. The dough was light and flavorful with just the right amount of sauce and cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese (forgot to snap a pic!) and she loved it! I tried a bite and the sauce was amazing with a hint of spice. Price is on point for the quality and amount of food you receive. Highly recommend!
Courtney C — Google review
The kale salad and prosciutto pizza were delicious! The beef brisket and black spaghetti dishes were well cooked but needed just a touch more salt and pepper to bring the flavors to life, but the server brought the grinders and we fixed that up in a jiffy.
M G — Google review
I took my mother here for mothers day dinner. Everything was delicious. The black pasta with seafood, and the risotto rocked. Our server Kylee was awesome. We will definitely be back and request her again. Go here. You won't regret it.
Carlo P — Google review
We made a targeted stop here specifically for the bar program, and the experience was truly top-tier. The ability to grab a seat outside on such a beautiful day was a bonus, but the service quickly became the highlight. We were greeted instantly, and our server—who had the most beautiful curly hair—was genuinely friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. She served as an excellent mixology consultant, expertly guiding my sister to a cocktail that perfectly matched her flavor preferences. The drinks themselves were delicious. As a cocktail enthusiast, I was particularly impressed by the drink featuring a house-made shrub—a sure sign of dedication to a high-quality, inventive bar program. We didn't sample the food this time, having just come from lunch, but based on the stellar reputation of their martinis and the quality of our cocktails, we are already planning our return trip to fully explore the dinner menu. This spot offers high-end execution with a genuinely welcoming atmosphere.

We were at your amazing Bistro on Oct.5 with our son & granddaughter. Our wait staff was Lane & he was wonderful. He suggested a beautiful white wine for me (I'm Canadian) & it paired wonderfully with my meal. I wish I knew the name of my meal; it was just so delicious! It was a pasta wrapped in a circle with a delicious meat sauce inside & seated on a tomato-based sauce. Best pasta dish I ever had. If you know the name of the dish, please tell me. We all enjoyed our meals, filet minion, trout & a chicken dish, along with appetizers & tiramisu & crème boule that my granddaughter & I shared!!! I can't wait until we can return to the Grand Rapids area to enjoy another meal there! Wish I had taken pictures, but everything was so good, I didn't think of it!

Vivant Brewery + Spirits is a captivating brewery housed in a renovated chapel, offering tours and a pub serving craft beers and French cuisine. The establishment's medieval monastic theme is evident throughout, with stone work, chandeliers, communal wooden tables, and stained glass adding to the ambiance. Guests can savor popular dishes like Duck Confit Nachos alongside their signature Farm Hand French farmhouse ale or Triomphe Belgian IPA.
I’m stingy with 5 stars. Andrew & Jason at Vivant earned it! This is your neighborhood ‘Cheers’ experience. I was visiting Grand Rapids and put in ChatGPT if I was Anthony Bourdain, what restaurant should I experience. (See actual prompt below) Vivant was #1. Loved the Shadow Raven: bourbon aged English style stout beer (8.2 ABV), Pulled Pork Mitraillette and Bavarian beer hall vibe. ME: Act as Anthony Bourdain and tell me the top three places to visit and eat in Grand Rapids Michigan CHATGBT: If I were channeling Anthony Bourdain, exploring Grand Rapids, Michigan, I’d seek out places that embody authenticity, character, and a deep connection to their community. Here’s the #1 spot that captures that spirit: 1. Brewery Vivant – A Belgian-Inspired Gastropub in a Former Funeral Chapel Housed in a beautifully repurposed funeral chapel, Brewery Vivant offers a unique blend of history and culinary innovation. Their menu features Belgian and French-inspired dishes, and their beer selection is crafted with the same European flair. It’s a place where the ambiance tells a story as rich as the food and drink.

Love this gem on beautiful Cherry Street! Stopped in today (July ‘25) to hang on the (dog-friendly!) patio and have a few bites. I enjoyed the catfish sandwich with fries and my friend had the nashville fried chicken sandwich with a side salad. The catfish sandwich with remoulade was very tangy & tasty and the slaw on the chickens sandwich added great taste and texture. I love this place and come in several times a year - 4 stars only because the prices are a bit high for essentially upscale pub food (although for a great product). I’ll be back again, just have to save a little to splurge on their patio!

this was our favorite place for the beer weekend we did. The service was excellent. We sat outside and the beer was excellent. We also has some smoked old fashioned and I think they may have been the best we ever had. The owner came out at one point and offered to do a tour which we did. He really gave us the backstory and enjoyed the service. We had the duck nachos which is their most popular item on the menu.

A charming brewery set inside a former church. We ordered two beer flights, truffle fries, poutine, and a bowl of pickles. The beer list had a solid variety, though a few we wanted to try were unavailable. The ones we did have were enjoyable. The fries and poutine were good, fairly standard. The pickles, while tasty at first, got too acidic and started to burn after a while. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was great, and prices were reasonable. I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the Grand Rapids area.

This was our first time here but it will definitely not be the last! From the time we walked in, our hostess Mary went out of her way to make us feel welcome and accommodated. Our server Em was efficient and attentive without being overbearing. She knew the menu inside and out, and graciously answered all our questions. The bartender Andrew helped my husband choose a beer that would fit his taste. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! The atmosphere is charming. Just an all-around pleasant experience.

We're new in town and have been trying new places to see what's worth it. Vivant is worth it! We sat at the bar and Andrew was an incredible bartender. We tried several beers - all of which were fantastic. Food was great, with good variety and add-on options. Loved this place and will definitely be going back.

Cute spot in town for dinner and drinks. The food was a little underwhelming. The lamb pot roast was pretty dry. Our server was wonderful. The duck french fries are good and would recommend

Brewery Vivant was a delightful surprise. The atmosphere in the converted chapel is truly unique, and our server Elsie made the experience even better. Elsie, is an absolute gem – attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and beer selection. We relished the Duck Nachos Confit and Hearty Jamaican stew. the rich, flavorful and tender meat were incredibly satisfying. Their Farm Hand and Tropical Saison beer was outstanding, and the flight let us sample even more of their excellent brews. Highly recommend Brewery Vivant for its food, beer, and one-of-a-kind ambiance. Ask for Elsie – you won't be disappointed!!

Beautifully decorated, delicious food, friendly staff!! Luke waited on us and he was so nice and helpful! The salmon and Wagyu New York Strip was delicious. My espresso martini, while very strong, was also delicious. The chocolate mousse cake melted in my mouth it was so good. A definite try if you’re in the area!

We went here for a friends 30th birthday and loved the whole experience. We were able to reserve a table for 6, and the host was super helpful when we called ahead asking about bringing decorations and a cake! Food was excellent and service was fast and attentive! My husband got the burger and I got the shrimp scampi. Both were amazing!

Thank you for the great time I had tonight! First time in Michigan and for my first stop I was not disappointed. Trendy food choices eclectic drink menu and the atmosphere was just delightful. The regulars at the bar spoke highly of this place and made our minds up for us on our first dishes here. I had the wagyu sirloin which was recommended along with the prime rib which was also ordered. Food came out quickly and it was crazy busy for a Monday night with at least one party waiting at a time for any table, bar or patio seat to open up. I can see why this place is so popular and I know why I'll be back.

Place was packed and we snagged a chair at the bar while waiting for a table. Cocktails were delicious. We met Bruce, a regular who gave us recommendations for food, which were all delicious. Everything was excellent and it was obvious by how busy it was on a Monday night. Love the water in empty bourbon bottles. Will definitely be stealing that idea!

Oh my. Our first time won't be the last! The food was incredible, scallops and meatloaf, but the staff. The best!! Friendly, helpful, and so thoughtful. If I had one complaint it's that the music was a bit too loud. It made conversation a bit of a challenge. But that's a minor detail. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Great atmosphere, staff was very friendly. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was amazing. Ordered the 14 oz Ribeye and definitely one of the better steaks I've ever had. Highly recommend this place.

Amazing drinks, food, staff, and atmosphere! I got an espresso martini and my fiancé got the pink lotus. The tajin on the rim of the pink lotus was so good! The whipped feta served with focaccia was perfect. The pistachios and chives went so well with the spice of the n'duja vinaigrette. For my main I got the 8oz grilled Wagyu Sirloin with a red wine reduction, crispy onion flakes, jacked potato gratin, and garlic green beans. Absolutely amazing! It was my birthday and they gave me 50% off my meal. My fiancé got the 14oz ribeye with crispy yukon potatoes, grilled asparagus from Visser Family Farms, served with garlic butter, béarnaise, and chives. For dessert we got the chocolate mousse cake coffee with crème anglaise, chocolate hazelnut brownie, chocolate ganache, hazelnut praline crumble. The hazelnut praline crumble went so well with the richness of the chocolate. Everything was truly delicious and the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating.

Butcher’s Union was a fantastic experience! Conveniently located on the west side of downtown Grand Rapids, it's a popular spot so keep in mind that parking can be limited, and you might need to walk a short distance. We visited on a Saturday with a reservation and were seated in the beautiful atrium room. The atmosphere was lively and bustling, which added to the energy of the night. The food did not disappoint! I highly recommend the whipped feta appetizer, so flavorful! We also tried the Wagyu beef tartare, salmon, pork shoulder, and the burger. Every dish was exceptionally well prepared and delicious. The garlic aioli with the fries is a must try. The cocktails were also top-notch, perfectly crafted and definitely not watered down like you find at some other places. All in all, a memorable dining experience. We'll definitely be back! ✨👌

Stella's Lounge is a vibrant bar in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, that offers a unique blend of 80s nostalgia and vegan-friendly comfort food. The walls adorned with graffiti and an arcade filled with classic games set the retro tone for this unpretentious eatery. Their menu features three variations of nachos, all starting with tortilla chips, Cuban black beans, lettuce, onion, tomato, fresh salsa and pickled jalapenos.
Late night on a Tuesday and this place hit the spot while everything was amazing! The atmosphere, food, drinks, music were all “Stellar”! Once we saw the fried bologna sandwich…we had to get it and it did not disappoint! The pickle chips and toasted Texas toast took the sandwich to another level!!!! Highly recommend this place!

The atmosphere is awesome, the style of the place is cool. The service was great! Loved the waitress. The food was not the greatest. Not full on flavors and basically stuff I can make at home. Now if your vegan or vegetarian you may really like this place. Lots of options.

Big shoutout to my server- gave great recommendations. Gave me a to-go box without even me having to ask for one, she knew I was visiting from Detroit and had a long drive home so she offered to get me a Mountain Dew refill for the road (now that’s what you call great service). The food she recommended was DELICIOUS, one of the best smash burgers I’ve ever had! The atmosphere and the bar overall is 10/10. Have arcade games and just all fun vibes. Will definitely visit again when I’m back in town!

I was visiting here from the southwest us and the chronic fries are the best food I've had from the downtown Grand Rapids area. The stylish two-story setting boasts high ceilings, exposed-brick walls, and an elegant screened-in lounge for outdoor dining. We came here for dinner but they weren’t serving what we wanted so we ended up just getting a drink and an app this time. The service was also taking a longer time than usual. Perhaps we will visit again soon, but everything was just a little off on this visit, EXCEPT FOR THE RANGOONS which are always delectable.

I want to start by saying the service was beyond exceptional. I will go back for that if nothing else. Thankfully though they are more than their service. The atmosphere was incredible with a live jazz band playing at a volume that allowed you to have a conversation with those with you, but also very much enjoy their playing. Made for an outstanding evening. I have mixed feelings with our food. We went with sushi and it was good. Very flavorful, but nearly impossible to eat as almost every piece fell apart just trying to get it off the plate. Getting the very large pieces in your mouth was just not an option without using your other hand to catch half of it and stuffing it in all caveman style. Overall we really liked the place and it certainly sits near the top of our list for return trips to Grand Rapids.
Scott V — Google review
We visited for your first date night service. Food was good, needed more seasoning. We had the charcuterie board, steak, and scallops. It was very bland/simple. Mashed potatoes were dry. Cheese plate was good, minus the turkey. Apple skillet dessert was good a bit runny, would have preferred a thicker sauce. Overall the experience was great and we will definitely do it again.
Alicia S — Google review
Went here for the first time. We were lucky enough to be there during happy hour. I got a Raspberry Margarita and Blackberry Perrin. We got sweet potato fries and the shrimp ahi roll. The food was SO good. The sushi was definitely in my top 3!! The server is extremely good at his job. Never wrote anything down, but our orders were always exactly correct. Can't wait to go back. The only slight downside is that the tables are close to each other, and the walkway is a little tight. I am very fluffy though. ☺️

Fantastic food and drinks! They have a decent amount of indoor/outdoor seating. Rockwell Republic also has some great deals throughout the week. Excellent place all around. Ordered the guacamole and a sushi roll both on happy hour and both were excellent. Service was impeccable. Our server Shane was always in communication with us while he was in-between serving other customers. He was also extremely friendly and helped us with finding places to go around town! Great place to start out our Grand Rapids trip.

Food was wonderful and fresh. Takeout portions are smaller than dine in but overall the quality is top notch. All of the food was delicious. Only complaints are that we ordered the 3 taco meal and only received 2 tacos & that we asked for crostini and naan and received crostini and chips with the beer cheese dip. Also thankful that they were one of the few places that kept their normal hours in the mist of this water situation.

Madcap Coffee Company is a modern and minimalist cafe that has become a favorite among coffee enthusiasts in Grand Rapids. With experienced baristas who are skilled at creating intricate latte art, Madcap takes its coffee seriously, tasting thousands of bean varieties each year to select the best ones for their cafes. You can even purchase their Roasters Choice bags in-store or have them shipped to you.
My mom and I visited this Madcap location on a Wednesday morning and it was lovely! I wasn't too busy and we were able to find a table easily. The staff were friendly and efficient with our order. I got an iced mocha that was the perfect balance of chocolate and espresso. My mom got a chocolate chip cookie that she really enjoyed. I loved all the plants that this location has as well, it really made the place feel homey! Great spot in Grand Rapids!

I think I’ve found my favorite coffee shop! I’m in from out of town staying around the corner. Searched for a local coffee shop and found Madcap. Loved everything about this shop! The person at the counter took the time to converse which I always appreciate. There is some limited outside seating which was nice. Plenty of inside table and counter seating. A great place to sit with family/friends to converse, or to sit and get some work done. Open and comfortable space with a minimalist approach to decor. Let’s the coffee equipment shine! Also, take the time to look at the decor remnants at the top of the back/brick wall. Beautiful! Oh, and the latte was terrific!! They roast their beans locally!! Pastry assortment was not huge, but tasted great and displayed well.

I love a good coffee shop and Madcap was super cool! I went right at 8am and there were already people lined up for them to open. Unfortunately, I’m not really a coffee or tea person, so, I mainly go to coffee shops for the vibes and food. I ordered an Apple Cinnamon muffin and it was really good! Super fresh and very tasty. Awesome experience!

I love Madcap, they are in the top 3 for staple Grand Rapids coffee spots. Madcap is one of the places I compare other coffee companies to. They have great roasting processes which produce phenomenal beans. This location has pour over brewing method which is a must in my book. They also do espresso drinks. If you are looking for a damn fine cup of coffee Madcap is a must. I highly recommend checking them out and I definitely will be back.

Great place in town to catch a cocktail in an intimate setting. Our bartender Cayden was friendly and helpful. He always made sure to check in on us and keep the cocktails full. Cocktails were delicious, service was attentive and pleasant, and the vibes were great. We stopped in on a whim around 11pm and we were greeted, seated, and served quickly. The ambiance is calm and comfortable, feels very intimate and private in there! Would recommend checking it out.

I stopped by this bar for a drink with a friend, and we happened to get there at a quiet time. It’s a very classy place with an upscale atmosphere, but the bartenders are friendly and down-to-earth. They have some rare drinks on their menu, but their cocktails are approachable and delicious. They don’t seem to water anything down, and the cocktails tend to be strong. I tried two: smooth criminal and lavender blues. I think I preferred lavender blues, it was light and floral, but both drinks were excellent. I’d love to come here again, and I think it’ll be easy to convince my friends once in a while.
Mateo G — Google review
Cocktails were great, service was good, atmosphere was great. Food was tasty but maybe a little on the heavy side for cocktail appetizer food, eg totally smothered in buttery oily goodness sauce that requires cutting and avoiding drippage on white clothes. Tasty but out of context! I'll be back for more Old Fashions for sure.
Thilo S — Google review
Great drinks and appetizers. The price point is a little over the top compared to other locations that provides a similar food and cocktail experience, however the atmosphere makes up for it. A good place for celebrations or a date night, will definitely be a treat.
Renata C — Google review
Absolutely love the vibe of this place. Very chill and quiet, it has that speakeasy feel. The cocktails are top notch, as is the service. If you're interested in food, Lumber Baron doesn't have a kitchen, but they allow you to order off the full Ruth's Chris menu nextdoor. Lumber Baron does have a dessert menu though, the creme brulee is delicious.

My husband and I were looking for a low key bar near our hotel to end our night and this was the perfect spot. Loved it’s low key, speakeasy/old world vibes and delicious cocktails. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the bartenders make drinks. Our favorite cocktail was the smoked old fashioned, but all the drinks were delish!

This is a MUST visit. While walking through the Amaway Grand Hotel we stumbled upon this very cozy cocktail bar. It has that old-school, exclusive, members only, cigar bar feel for sure. The cocktails are well thought out and prepared by a very professionals, not just some person they found for minimum wage. All of this does come at a price, but the experience is totally worth it! Max's South Seas Hideaway is a tropical-themed restaurant and bar that offers an extensive selection of tiki-inspired cocktails and a diverse food menu. The venue aims to provide an immersive experience, transporting guests to a distant paradise with its two-story dining and drinking space. The menu features a variety of dishes, including poke bowls, chicken satay, beef bulgogi, drunken noodles, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. One of their specialty desserts is the Island Bread Pudding.
We had a great time. The kids loves the bonfire and the drinks we had were the non alcoholic and they were amazing. It was a little dark so you might need your flashlight till you get used to it. Out hostess told us all about the restaurant and the decorations. We did ask her about them. They have a fish tank upstairs. I should have taken more pictures but I didn't. We will go back again. The nacho fries were good too!

A very unique atmosphere. More importantly the food was delicious, tender. There spring rolls had the most delicate flakes wrap. Sauces were spot on. Service was great, the bartender explained everything that I asked and enjoyed watching my drink be made with pride. Id definitely go back and bring friends.

Dear Max’s, your staff, food, and drink, plus ambiance were amazing! I make it a point to visit tiki bars when travelling. While visiting family in Ohio I dragged my dad here from Toledo on a Thursday night. (what a drive and a half) The servers were a pair of young ladies, one gal had a Rum Rum, my darling shirt from the High roller tiki lounge/ Bettie Page rum from out in California which I immediately recognized, and thought was pretty badass! I didn’t realize the owners also had a SF location which explained a lot of the items I saw around the place 😊 Either way the food was superb! The portions were huge, and I wish I could have tried more. The drinks were top notch and again I wish I had a bigger stomach to try more. The servers hooked up my dad with a taste of a rum that they thought he would enjoy, since he’s a bourbon guy and it was both generous and thoughtful! I was absolutely exhausted by the end, and I regret not exploring the upstairs ( which we were invited to check out several times). I am not sure If they had any souvenirs for sale, nor did I see a swizzle… but I got a couple post cards for my tiki cabinet.

Such a fun spot for a date night! Went here to celebrate our anniversary. Drinks did not disappoint. Lots of variety! Food was delicious. Atmosphere 10/10 - loved the fish tank and the art! Make sure to get a reservation!

This place seems like an oasis in a concrete city. If you ever wanted to go to a tropical environment and have a few drink drinks and maybe a few appetizers or food, this is your place. The staff was very friendly when we were greeted at the door and they continued to be friendly while serving us. They were friendly and helpful with giving advice on drinks and I imagine food if we had done so. I will say the drinks were strong. I am not complaining. I’m just letting people know. If you wanna get the most bang for your buck, this is definitely one of your stops. They had a wide variety of beverages to choose from. I am sure you will find something that will wet your pallet. The interior is unique in a way that you might not expect. It has multiple floors. The upstairs has a full see-through aquarium, which was very unexpected. The main floor has the bar along with little private cabana type rooms you get seated in for a small party. Overall, this place will be somewhere I come back to and try additional beverages or maybe some food.
The C — Google review
As a tiki connoisseur, this has to be one of the best tiki bars I’ve ever been to. It’s on par with Three Dots and a Dash in Chicago and Tiki Tatsuya in Austin. This place might as well be part museum/exhibition of high tiki art. There’s a large collection of numbered Shag prints hanging casually on the way to the bathrooms, for example. I will be coming back here each and every time I’m in Grand Rapids or else I will have a temper tantrum and become inconsolable. In fact, I will travel to GR again just to visit Max’s. Also, make sure everyone at the table gets a bread pudding, otherwise fighting will ensue over bites. I loved this spot 💗🍹

One Twenty Three Tavern, located in the entertainment district of Grand Rapids, offers a hip and industrial-chic dining experience with elevated sandwiches, burgers, mains, and craft cocktails. The restaurant is part of the Studio Park complex and provides a unique twist on classic American dishes. Guests can enjoy dining outside in heated tents or greenhouses while also having access to outdoor entertainment such as movies and sports games.
The Tuesday Smash Burger special was good. If you are reading this just after I posted it, know that the prices are fluctuating and may not be accurate. - Smash Burger - $15: The two high quality smash patties about 4oz each (my guess). They were well seasoned with an emphasis on pepper. The pepper was not sharp, but it was deep. The cheese was great. The toppings were well balanced, though I might have added a touch more. The lettuce texture was particularly wonderful. I asked for no pickle and the waitress recommended getting the fancy sauce on the side since it is pickle based (good call). The Nantucket brioche bun was AMAZING (as usual). I’ve had Nantucket bread at multiple other restaurants and look for them now. It was soft, full, and kept the burger together well. - California Garlic Fries - $3 extra: Slightly smaller cut, deeper pepper flavor, a tad too much salt for my tastes, but overall the fries were amazing, cooked perfectly, and hot all the way to the end. There was a generous amount of fries, too. It made the $3 extra worth it! - Old Nation | Oktoberfest: Came free with the Tuesday special for the Smash Burger. - Tuesday Special: According to the website, “Every Tuesday, get our Classic Smash Burger and a brew for only $14.” When I asked about this, it was actually $15 and said that the website was not updated. I just checked the website again after and it was still listed as $14. I was charged $15 + $3 for the fries I asked for. They stick to their prices even when you correct them. They also had pierogies on the menu and I’d like to try them sometime! - Service: Very attentive, positive, and helpful. She caught that I did not care for pickles and recommended getting the fancy sauce on the side (she was right). We did not wait long for anything and our burger arrived in less than 15 minutes. Overall, great service! - Atmosphere: Higher class, clean, organized, but plenty of people were in street clothes. The lighting was darker, medium loud, but plenty good for private conversation. There were booths, but mainly only larger ones. There was also a bar, taller tables and chairs as well as standard high ones, - Conclusion: Good burger. I like pepper, so it was enjoyable for me. I think the prices were fair for the quality, service, and pleasant atmosphere. I’d recommend them. Visited at 7pm on a Tuesday.

Nice dinner last night before a show a few blocks away at Pyramid Scheme. Place was about half full so quick seating, enjoyed the smash burger/fries/beer tuesday special (great deal) with crab cakes. The burger was fantastic, fries came out lukewarm and pretty oily but very tasty (fries might’ve made in advance for the special and maybe the fryer wasn’t hot enough?). Friendly & quick service was nice. I’d go back again for sure but hoping for hot/fresh fries next time.

Delicious meals, friendly staff, tasty drinks. The apple and brie grilled cheese was PHENOMENAL. This place is absolutely worth walking a little bit away from the more hoppin' part of downtown; we waited three minutes for a table when other restaurants were estimating 30 minute waits. Felt like a hidden gem! Found accidentally, but we will certainly be back!

The food was excellent and the service was fantastic despite the dinner rush. I ordered the apple and Brie grilled cheese with garlic fries and was very impressed with the unique flavors. It was a substantial serving and was very decadent. Though there was a long wait for a table, I managed to score a seat at the bar and the bar tenders were excellent. They were efficient, friendly and offered some helpful suggestions. One Twenty Three is conveniently located downtown and right next to the Canopy by Hilton Hotel. It's also walking distance to the Van Ansel Arena. I highly recommend a meal here.

The place also hosts various activities such as concerts and fosters collaborations with community partners to support independent artists.
I had some fun playing the pinball machines here. The combination of those machines with a bar is a great idea, and I enjoyed a nice beer while trying some older machines. It’s fun even when you’re as bad at pinball as I am. Maybe I’ll have better luck next time.

We came here specifically for the pinball. They have some recently released machines. While the machines were in good condition, some of the glass was very dirty and we also thought the machines were a bit pricey (used to more 2$ for 3 games rather than $1 a game which seemed to be a lot of the machines). Staff also did not seem very knowledgeable about the machines either so didn’t feel like a true pinball bar. Staff also came off kind of rude, like they are too good to serve you???!!

The Pyramid Scheme easily rivals as one of my favorite venues in downtown Grand Rapids. I have seen several shows here. The most recent was the Death is Little More tour with Boundaries, Stick to your Guns, Gates to Hell and Psycho-frame. Shows always run in a timely manner, with lines moving fluidly, pinball machines singing and drinks flowing from the bar. Highly recommend catching a show that suits your tastes, here!

Great bar in front with booths and pinball machines. Great draft selection. The venue area in the back is fantastic. Great place for medium sized gigs with bathrooms and another bar.
Barb K — Google review
I like the Pyramid Scheme venue mostly because for its size it offers just as much as the larger venues but without the congestion and prices. I have had the opportunity to see smaller acts like Mother Mother, Good Terms, Have Mercy to larger acts like Emery, Living Color, and Baroness. Before the show you can get a drink, play some pinball, and if you're lucky meet the bands in the lot. If you have some time to burn Stella's across the street has some great food so sit back and enjoy the show and ambiance. Always a great time.
Matthew M — Google review
Are you disappointed because the tickets to see the band whose song is on repeat at 5 different radio stations, from 400 yards away in the stadium stands, costs 2 whole paychecks (I hate Ticketmaster), well then look no further. There’s not a better place this side of the Atlantic Ocean to see an artist who actually wrote the songs perform them than at the bar named after the great 3D triangular shape. If you invite 2 friends, and each of them invite 2 friends and so on, the fun only multiplies for everybody. You can’t go wrong, and you don’t even have to report your enjoyment on your taxes next April. I’ve attended an incalculable number of shows here (maybe 10) and I’m never let down. Rates are fair, and the staff is kind. Play some pinball while you await the front row to true art in the best form.

Pictures don't do it justice! It was fun and the vibes were great. I came from Canada to see a show and it was worth the drive.

I didn't have any drinks here, but I was pleasantly surprised by this "hole in the wall" venue I have never been too. I saw still remains here and it was a awesome little venue. I'll be keeping an eye on upcoming shows for sure.

Cocktail bar
The Apartment Lounge is a cozy and welcoming LGBTQ+ bar located next to the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. It has a long history and offers theme nights, regular drink specials, happy hour, and even a bloody mary bar on Sundays. The bar also boasts a four-season outdoor space with a colorful street mural by artist Joey Salamon. Visitors have praised the inclusive atmosphere, friendly staff, and the bartender Michael for making them feel welcome. The venue is known for accommodating diverse celebrations and having gender-neutral bathrooms.
Awesome dive bar in GR. Matty was our server and he was seriously one of the best waiters my husband and I have ever had. Little dark inside, don’t remember seeing windows, but plenty of seating at the bar and tables. They had great drinks and drink prices. Pull tabs too! We will definitely return

I came here for my birthday and I was treated very warmly. The bartender was very attentive, gave excellent recommendations, was funny and approcahable. This place feels like a warm hug. Great vibe, good music, and strong pours! Thanks for making my day special. Definitely recommend<3

Mike was the first person who greeted me upon my first time here, he made me feel welcome and is very good at his job. He is the multitask master! Mack is also an honorable mention for being so sweet and kind, as well as good at what they do! This place has started to grow on me because of the service and overall fun atmosphere. Everyone here is great!

On my way home after a Friday night out on the town. I decided to stop here for a beer and check this place out. I honestly have to say it was good busy. Took a few minutes to get a seat. But worth it. Definitely nice mix of young and older people. The staff was very good workers doing a very good job. I honestly had a very good time for just stopping for one beer . And I honestly don't want to say it but the youtube music was the only bad part of my experience of stopping by this great lgbtq community bar! Otherwise I am very much looking forward to coming back here and having a lot of fun and a good cold beer. Which they even have draft beer too!! All told Definitely a very good lgbtq community bar to come back and visit again and again!!

My husband and I love coming here. The owner, Bob, is always so friendly, and you can tell he cares about his patrons as if they were actual family. Always feel welcome and comfortable here. Michael is our favorite bar tender. He always remembers us and is sure to always make us laugh. Great small place for good friends to meet and to make new friends.

So autumn was our server, and I came in DRUNK.. I couldn’t even believe how drunk I was actuallly and she would not serve me. No matter what. She brought me water and snacks and even after o was feeling better I asked for an Tito’s and water and she still would not serve me. I’m so thankful because if I would’ve been served alcohol I would’ve not been doing well. So I’m absolutely in love with her service and thankful someone so aware is working here. Thank you. <3

I've visited this establishment three times over the past five years, hoping to find a safe and inclusive environment to enjoy a drink. Each time, I am left with a harsh reminder of why I choose to avoid this place. The owner’s attitude is incredibly off-putting and unwelcoming. My first negative experience occurred in 2021 when he abruptly kicked me and my service dog out of the venue. All while a purse dog of one of the bartenders off duty was at the outdoor table next to me. That incident left a lasting impression, and it took me nearly four years to muster the courage to return. Regrettably, my experience today was just as disappointing. During my visit, the owner harassed me on three separate occasions. He repeatedly commented on the extensive amount of money he spent on recovering the booths, which felt irrelevant to me. As that's an investment needed when previously the seats were duct taped together and the carpet smells of must. At one point, he rudely demanded me to take my feet down. It’s important to clarify that neither my feet nor my shoes ever made contact with his booths, which he claimed cost $16,000. I was sitting with my legs crossed. After the third instance of his harassment, I felt compelled to explain my situation to him. I told him that while my foot might have been hanging off the booth, I need to keep my leg elevated for medical reasons. I truly urge others to reconsider spending their money at this establishment. The lack of respect for patrons, especially those with disabilities, is alarming and simply unacceptable.

I absolutely love this place. It's my go to bar that I always go to on night out when I am looking to just chill and be myself. The staff are phenomenal and always give you such the best mood ever. I swear they always cheer me up. And you always feel so included. However, there is one thing I must complain about, and that is the owner. I am autistic and cannot help but move around A LOT in my space. I adore this bar because the staff make you feel so included and like ourself, especially for me as a queer individual. But my recent experience has definitely thrown me off. I got told not to sit on my legs/feet because he was concerned about "ruining his expensive booths" that he just paid to have redone. Look, I get it. You want to keep the place looking nice, but the way it was approached to me was not all that nice. I don't want to go into full details about it, but it definitely struck me and hit me somewhere in my feelings. Being autistic, I cannot help how I sit and sometimes feel more comfortable in specific positions. And I hate to say that severely hit me somewhere. It didn't necessarily ruin my night since I and my friends just ended up moving to the bar stools when seats were available, but it sort of told me a lot about where standards were. Again, I understand, but it also came off as wrong to me. I love this place, I really do. I love all the people that work here. They are so amazing and do so much and they deserve all the credit in the world. They are the reason I will keep coming back and why this review isn't lower than four stars. Please my babes, keep doing you. You will have my support all the way. But before you obsess over your expensive furniture wear that is for certain to be degraded over overhaul of business over the comfort of your customers, please approach this in a better way. It made me very saddened when I was told this, like I was doing something terribly wrong, when in fact, it's just who I am as a person. I can't sit "normally", and never in my life would I have assumed it was a problem. I have sadly reduced my review due to someone else having a similar encounter as me with “legs up on booths”. It appears to now be a universal issue thing and that I am not the only one encountering this. I understand wanting to keep the business looking nice, but running a business means making hefty purchases here and there. I don’t like how the fear of being verbally torn down by the owner is affecting apparently my and others’ experiences. So caution to those out there like me who can’t help themselves. Be aware. You might get an unexpected call out when you’re in the middle of a conversation to put your legs down. Staff are always amazing. But its sad experiences with the owner are bringing this rating below five stars.

It offers affordable drinks with weekly specials and unique cocktails. The venue features classic arcade games like pinball, an old-school jukebox, and outdoor patio seating.
Well I loved this place; artsy vibe, less dive bar, more friendly hangout. Cracking selection of pinball machines, really friendly and open crowd, bar person was great. Felt right at home here, plus the nice chap behind the bar introduced us to the awesome music of Tanner J Burns.

My friend and I evidently arrived before the crowds, but Meanwhile quickly got busy after that. It was our first time there, and it’s quite the happening place. There are movie posters from a local designer all over the place, and it almost feels like a diner. They have a nice draught list, and although there’s often a line it moves pretty fast. I think the crowd tends to be on the younger side, but I didn’t feel uncomfortable. It seems like quite a nice bar to me, and I’d be happy to visit again.

Fine dining restaurant
Located in the heart of Grand Rapids, The Chop House Grand Rapids is a popular and upscale steakhouse known for its elegant ambiance and top-notch service. This renowned dining destination offers a menu featuring premium beef, expertly prepared seafood dishes, and indulgent sides. The plush chophouse is adorned with elegant gas lamps and also boasts a dessert and cigar bar. Everything we ordered was out of this world amazing! The prime rib was perfect, asparagus was delicious, and we loved the crème brûlée! The service was outstanding, and ambience very nice.

I chose this restaurant for my birthday and we started with the wrong foot. My sister made a reservation and the hostess didn't have it on their system, so we just had to wait for a couple of minutes while they prepared our table. Once the restaurant door closed it made a loud noise and that was part of our soundtrack every time a customer walked in. 😳 Rather unpleasant. The venue was dark and the music was gloomy. I started with the lobster bisque and it was perfection, so good! I tried the lobster bites and they were a tad too salty for me. For main course I ordered the beef Wellington with mushrooms and mashed potatoes on the side, it was nice. Drinks were delicious and the 6 desserts I tried were amazing. Probably the best desserts I've had in town. The service was good. I'd suggest to take care of the musty odor coming from I believe the carpet on the lower floor I noticed on my way to the bathroom, which was impeccable.

I have lived all over the country and have eaten in fine dining establishments from coast to coast. This was probably the best service I have ever had. I'm here to tell you, it is an experience! The wait staff are complete professionals at what they do, with detailed knowledge of their delicious menu. They present the food in a choreographed manner that was just delightful to witness. The atmosphere is what you'd expect - dimly lit, tastefully decorated modern dining room. The food was delicious. My steak and lobster were both perfectly seasoned and cooked. The scalloped potatoes were to die for, I would come back just to eat those! All in all, a wonderful dining experience. Do remember this is obviously a very expensive place, think $300+ for two people. But worth it to splurge every so often if you can, I think! Highly recommended.

The Delicious Spot for a Special Occasion or Business Dinner If you're debating whether to eat here, just do it. I visited on a business trip and it was a standout dining experience. Here's a quick guide to making the most of it. What to Order: The star of the show is the 16oz Australian Wagyu steak—it’s an incredible cut of meat and cooked flawlessly. For starters, the piping hot cheese bread is a must-have, and the calamari is a great choice for sharing. The Atmosphere: This is a fantastic choice if you want an intimate setting. The noise level is moderate, making it ideal for quality conversation. It strikes a great balance between being upscale and comfortable. Best For: • Date Nights & Anniversaries • Important Business Dinners • Celebrating a Special Occasion The service was excellent and very attentive. While there are plenty of dining options in the area, this place delivers a premium experience that is absolutely worth the price. Highly recommend.

My husband and I came here for him to try Beef Wellington and to celebrate our anniversary. I thought it was sweet they had flower petals on the table for us. I did not like how dark it was, but it wasn’t horrible. My husband said the scallops were amazing, the beef in his beef Wellington seemed not to be seasoned and the peanut butter dessert he got was delicious. I enjoy the lamb, a pumpkin martini and the espresso cake! Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive. We also liked the tablet menus that you could tap the item to see a picture and information on the items. Absolutely recommend for anyone questioning trying!
Britanie D — Google review
I really appreciated the friendly and attentive service — the staff were excellent, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. However, I was a bit let down by the food. The steak lacked depth of flavor and wasn’t as tender as I expected. As someone who has had extensive experience with Wagyu in Asia, I was particularly excited to try it here — but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. The texture was limp rather than melt-in-your-mouth, and there was more sinew and gristle than I’d expect from a high-grade cut. For the price point, I was hoping for a more memorable dining experience. Still, it’s a pleasant spot if you’re looking for great service and a vibrant setting.
SJ — Google review
Probably the best textbook steakhouse in downtown GR. Steaks were spot on, service was both entertaining and professional, and it nails the dimly lit old timey steak time atmosphere.

Restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Wealthy Street district, Donkey Taqueria is a lively Mexican eatery that has transformed a former service station into a culinary hotspot. This charming venue boasts an impressive selection of tequila and offers a delightful array of Mexican classics, including mouthwatering street tacos, fresh guacamole, and sweet churros. Whether you're stopping by for lunch during the workweek or enjoying brunch on the weekend with their refreshing margaritas, there's something to satisfy every palate.
No complaints here. In fact, I've only got good to report after my first visit. The atmosphere has a hip, downtown vibe. The service was friendly, prompt, professional, and helpful. Between an appetizer and two taco options, I can confidently say the food is on point. Plenty of outdoor seating for the warm months is clutch as well.

The place is really lively. We went on a Saturday night and had about a 20/30 min wait. We were seated inside, it's pretty close seating inside. The bar seems to be the main attraction. This place would be very good for singles trying to mingle. Its all plate or alicante food. The burrito i had was decent and the best thing was queso. Its very popular place but just not my scene.
Kymmie L — Google review
This is an extremely popular spot with great atmosphere, but I had a notably bad experience. The service was subpar, mostly i think the waiter must have been having a bad day because he was lowkey rude and clippy the entire time. Asked for a recommendation on something and he was like “idk it’s fine”. I counted my money wrong and tipped him around 50% on accident which i only bring up cause if he he reads this, it was NOT because of you or your service which were horrible, but I guess I hope you appreciated the tip. FOOD: it was bad. Our appetizer, the street corn style cheese dip was basically flavorless. It was BEGGING for salt and got nothing. We surmised that maybe the employee in charge of salting food must’ve been out sick. The chips were middling. We only got four tacos. The potato taco? Mushy potato cubes, not salted, basically flavorless The pork belly tacos? In desperate need of salt and sauce. The cubes pork belly itself was middling, like they were warmed rather than cooked to order. The best taco was the brussels sprouts, weirdly, and that was because it actually had some sort of sauce on it. The agua Fresca I drank was good, but it only served to remind me of all the incredible Mexican restaurants in Wyoming like 10-15 min away. The atmosphere is good though. The prices are fine.

Yes to Donkey Taqueria. It’s such a vibe! The decor inside is festive and there’s plenty of outdoor seating for those sunny days. 🌞 The staff is super kind and welcoming, and the food hits. The chips were perfectly crisp, the guac 🥑 was fresh and flavorful, and the drinks were so tasty. My friend got the ensalada and raved about it—fresh, well-balanced, and full of flavor. Definitely coming back for the food, the energy, and the whole experience. A must-visit when you’re in Grand Rapids! 🌮🍹✨

We love this place so much we had it catered for our wedding! It was so easy to order what we wanted and to have it delivered to the venue. We got the taco bar and it was even better than what you get in the restaurant! Was blown away! Would highly recommend for a wedding, defo a crowd pleaser.
Marian M — Google review
This place was actually recommended by a friend who came into town with me. We both decided to go get some food and it was such a lovely day we decided to sit outside. The inside is a nice modern atmosphere but earthy feel at the same time. With a nice long bar that extends in an l-shape around the inside of the building. Outside there's a nice seating area with gravel underneath your feet and several different ways of sitting with either bench seating or circular tables with a standard stools. They did have a nice cover over most of the outdoor area to keep you out of the sun or the tables had sun umbrellas to help and that was why we chose to sit outside. Our server Claire was amazing and made sure that our food and drinks were not only on time but delicious as well. The menu isn't vast but it's also not super expensive either. The ingredients were definitely fresh and most ingredients if not all are made in house which is a tough find these days. My two tacos and one drink was under $20 which is amazing for the service and the atmosphere that was provided. I strongly recommend this place for a lunch or dinner atmosphere with a friend, partner, or family.

Chips and queso were amazing very well done, little bit of spice but not bad at all. I had the burrito and it was pretty good, I would order again. The menu doesn't have any chicken tacos and I feel like that is a real miss tbh considering how many other types they have. Overall good experience would good back would try again. Update 2025: The chips are still amazing and the shrimp tacos are amazing.

New American restaurant
Terra GR is a locally-owned restaurant located in the old Kent Records building in Eastown. It offers a stylish and rustic dining space where patrons can enjoy farm-to-table dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The menu features wood-fired pizzas, craft cocktails, and Michigan craft draft beer. The restaurant is known for its seasonal offerings such as spaghetti Bolognese, seared scallops, and braised beef shoulder.
Terra made for a nice, more upscale dinner for a friend and me. They have some creative, Italian style dishes and lots of nice drinks to choose from. I went with a cocktail I can’t name in polite company, and it was delicious. It stuck me as something somewhat like a tiki-style drink in a rocks glass. I had the corn risotto and my friend tried the casarecce pasta. We both thought the food was superb. The corn risotto wasn’t too heavy, and it had tons of fresh corn flavor. The scallion ash was a surprisingly good topping. The decor was modern and the staff was helpful without being overbearing. This would be a great spot for a nice night out or just a pleasant meal with friends or family.

Terra in East Grand Rapids serves up incredible flavors with fresh, handcrafted dishes. The gnocchi with short rib as light and pillowy, melt-in-your-mouth tender, the salmon perfectly balanced, and the Margarita pizza a wood-fired delight. We went for brunch to celebrate my son‘s birthday. They had printed happy birthday on the top of the menu, which was very sweet. We had the brunch menu items. Hair of the dog bowl was too spicy for both grandmothers. The rest of us thought it was fine, but you may want to get the sauce on the side so you can control your own spice level. The tiramisu French toast was amazing! There wasn’t any espresso flavor to it so I don’t know why they called the tiramisu french toast but nonetheless, it was amazing! The cocktail called the Benson was also very good. They have a lovely outdoor patio, which we did not sit on, but looked really nice. Also, there is a parking lot behind it and they do validate parking or at least they did for us on a Sunday. Our waiter was not very good, but some of the other Waitstaff seemed better and were very helpful.

I can see why people give Terra five star but since I ordered the wrong items. It is a 3 stars for me. 1.corn risotto taste exactly like cream corn from a can, with lime juice. $26. Chef did a good job making the risotto but the flavor was a shocker. I prefer regular risotto. 2. Lamb meatball, is just lamb kafta shape in meatball shape. I thought it would be Italian meatball since most items in the menu is Italian. If u come here, just get pizza and pasta. That's what everyone getting and they look good. Don't try to explore outside of that.

You don’t come along fine gems like this very often so you are doing it wrong if you don’t come here when you’re in GR. Fantastic brunch menu and I’ve been told that the dinner is just as amazing! I had the Margherita pizza and can say with confidence that it was one of the top three Woodfire pizzas I’ve ever had. The sauce is robust and really sets it apart. Everything is made in house, even the fresh mozzarella on my pizza. The decor is modern yet simplistic is the vibe and you have an open kitchen view of the chefs working their magic! Absolutely phenomenal service and experience from start to finish.

Z's Bar & Restaurant is a long-standing American eatery and bar located in downtown Grand Rapids, just a block away from the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Since its establishment in 1982, Z's has been a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The restaurant offers an array of elevated bar food, including delectable Angus-beef burgers and an impressive selection of cocktails.
Great bar atmosphere very traditional, and the restaurant portion of the bar or the food was great. I went in there to actually grab a carry-out but I decided to sit down and stay. I placed an order for the chicken sandwich. By the way was spectacular. They did mess up I wanted no barbecue sauce or on the side and they forgot but I was in a hurry by the time I placed the order within five minutes. It was ready so they must’ve been, anticipating some big crowds. Regardless, can’t expect much more from a bar/restaurant than this. I would definitely recommend this place for quickly grabbing a drink or getting some food or staying all night great atmosphere

I came here because I heard the ribs were amazing. Turns out not to be true, they are very mid-level at best. Not a lot of flavor, and kind of dry. The service was really nice, and the atmosphere seems fun, the ribs do not live up to the reputation, unfortunately.
DEFINE F — Google review
This review is strictly on their chicken wings, nothing else. If you’re looking for good chicken wings then look elsewhere. $21 for a dozen wings that have got to be the tiniest, absolutely smallest wings I’ve ever seen. Even with the breaded coating they are tiny. If they offered naked wings they would look like they came off of a Cornish hen. I had to take some photos just to document the comically small size of these wings. In one photo you can see the drumstick bone next to a standard wet wipe pack for size reference. In another photo you can see a chicken “chunk”. Not quite a drumstick, not quite a flat. There was probably more breading than actual chicken meat on these things. This place should seriously consider getting a new supplier for their wings, or lower the price. Have always enjoyed coming to Z’s, but this is the first and last time ordering wings.

We didn’t eat there but grabbed some drinks instead. The service was good and our waiter was lighthearted. He brought us drinks in a relatively short time and checked in on us enough but not too much. The other staff was friendly as well. The exterior seating was ok but a little crammed. The interior seating has more room but if you want fresh air, then outside and closeness it is. The beers were beers. So not much to say about that. lol

Great menu offerings and authentic “tavern” ambience. We loved the Reuben, Cuban, and craft cocktails (extensive bar selection.) Amazing value on the $5 bartenders choice cocktails. Appreciated the kind and helpful service that was provided despite it being a busy Friday night. Great experience!

Was staying across the street for a conference so the convenience was great! One day I got the mac and cheese with grilled chicken and it was great. Big enough that I saved some for lunch the next day. Went over this evening to try the "award winning" ribs. I don't know who gives the awards for this but they were far from award winning. They weren't bad but not great. Really dry, kinda flavorless. No problems with service, waitress was polite and efficient.

I was happily surprised with the size of the location and service we received. The menu is burgers, pizza and the like. The drink menu is expensive and they have memberships for more deals. It was a very good option as it was close to our hotel and on the way to Devos. We were in and out quickly and it wasn't fast food.

The Mitten Brewing Company is a popular craft brewery and pizzeria located in a restored Victorian-era firehouse, offering a unique blend of old-time baseball decor and delicious food. Since its opening in 2012, this vintage baseball-themed brewpub has become a staple in Grand Rapids, attracting locals and visitors alike.
A great brewery in the Grand Rapids area. We have gotten beers before so it was nice to finally go to their brewery and get some beers on tap. All the beers are good and they have a few absolute knockouts. The sour mango and Belgian spiced red come to mind. They were phenomenal, we took a 6 back of the mango to go. We did a flight and a specialty pizza. The pizza was really good. We wanted to try the pizza flight but there were only 2 of us so we're going to come back with friends for that one. The staff were really friendly, we got there right at open and within an hour it was packed. Our server was great. She helped with the pizza and beers. The decor is also awesome, completely themed in baseball. I can't recommend Mitten Brewing enough!

We stopped here before a ballgame in Grand Rapids MI. Great Detroit Tigers and baseball Memorabilia and displays. Decent sized seating indoors but the patio was great. Did not feel crowded outside. Our pizza was very good. Beer selection is also good. Tried a couple of great beers...I recommend the 84. Would definitely stop here again. They only have street parking, then I saw a sign about parking somewhere? after I had parked a couple of blocks away.

The ambience at this place is top notch if you are a Detroit Tigers fan!!! One of the coolest designed restaurants I have been to! It’s in an old Fire Station and has all kinds of old Tiger and fireman memorabilia. They have flights of both beer and pizza, which is so awesome! My first time getting a pizza flight! They also have a Detroit style pizza, which was very good. The beer flights come in a really cool Michigan shaped holder. All the beers were good. The “Peanut and Crackerjacks” beer was such a tasty and unique brew, so I would definitely recommend trying that one for sure! Our server, Megan, was super nice and did a fantastic job with our party of 9. We got the cheesebread and The Big Show pretzel appetizer and both were very good! Would get both again. All in all, just a great place that is definitely worth visiting!

I love coming to the Mitten! The pizzas are truly one of a kind and delicious. I don’t think I’ve tried a pizza I haven’t liked yet. I definitely recommend trying out their menu.

Woah… that crust! And what a neat concept for a pizza. Lemon ricotta, hot honey, pepperoni, and spinach. This pie is definitely worth driving out of your way for. Not only that but the place has a really neat themed “timeless” baseball collection feel.

Was passing through Grand Rapids on the way to Muskegon to catch the Lake Express home to Milwaukee and stopped for lunch. First off the place is clean, inviting and has a great vibe. The baseball theme is AWESOME and they do a great job with it. The service was awesome. Our server was polite, clear, smiled and had patience. Just top notch. We ordered a Detroit style pizza and it was FANTASTIC. Delicious, fresh, hot out of the oven. The sauce was delicious, the crust was delicious and perfect and all the ingredients were fresh. I had a flight of beers with a focus on IPAs and Lagers. All the beers were good with a couple a bit above average but didn’t feel any of them were grand slams. Go to the Mitten and you won’t be disappointed.

STOP TURN AROUND GO BACK TO THE MITTEN!! All of us were in heaven. The wait for a table was worth it! What an amazing atmosphere. We had a blast. The pumpkin spice latte beer was the best. Even I drank it. I don’t drink but it was so good. We were in pizza heaven. The pizza flight idea is the best. I love it. I’d drive from Detroit just for the pumpkin spice beer and pizza. Love it. So so good. We haven’t laughed so hard at dinner in the 7 years we’ve done our beer tour. DON’T MISS THE MITTEN!!

Took my granddaughter! She loved it! We ordered the pizza flight! Margherita, westerdog, deluxe, Mediterranean, bee sting, and Aloha BBQ. Westerdog won but they were all good! Great server as well!

The Winchester is a popular gastropub located in the East Hills Neighborhood, offering elevated bar food and a fun patio that's open year-round. The exposed-brick walls create a cozy atmosphere, and the menu features delicious wraps, salads, entrees, creative appetizers, and their famous Winchester burger. In addition to the indoor seating area, they have expanded their outdoor space to accommodate more guests. The patio offers shade and ambient lighting for a pleasant dining experience.
Amazing, moody pub vibe with excellent decor and year-round heated solarium! Excellent service and food. Breaded fried fish was packed with flavor (not grease!) and served with a craveable dill tarter sauce - seriously, we were fighting to dip our fries in that stuff. Also tried: French dip, wings, and Winnie Cooper and would get all again. Super find, thanks for being excellent!

Went for lunch with a coworker. Our waiter he did take our order but there was another woman that ran our food & seemed more on top of it. Tables are also close together. The food was good, fresh but the seasoning or cheese is this case was much. Truffle fries were amazing. Portion size to price didnt match well. All in all not a bad restaurant but not some place im going to explore again.

Traveled from out of town and was looking for a good quick bite. The waitress was extremely nice and attentive. Got the fried pickles for an appetizer and would highly recommend. We split the French dip and the naan club. Both were absolutely tasty. Had a salad with blue cheese dressing and the dressing was perfectly garlicky. Would come back here next time we are in town.

First time at The Winchester we split the nachos, which are small but flavorful. I enjoyed a burger and my girlfriend had the tikka masala, she was not overly impressed with the tikka masala. They have an expansive selection of beer and drinks. I would like to come back to try more of their menu.

Only came for drinks so we didn't get to experience the food. Nice large outdoor space to sit. Service was on the slow side, but that's what we were in the mood for anyway. Good experience overall. Update: Finally got a chance to try the food. Not great, not bad, worth a try. The Brussels are decent, and the French dip was flavorful but a bit small. The atmosphere is great, certainly will return and try some other dishes. The happy hour mule is good for the price. Consistent with my original review, service was pretty slow, but not terribly. Update 2025: Really liked the food we had this time! The burger is really good and reasonably priced. The chicken tenders though.... So good. Fries and chips just average but plenty good enough. Service was much improved as well, Jen H. was really great!

Absolutely wonderful experience! Went with my sister and got two appetizers, two entrees, one cocktail, and one dessert and were just barely able to finish. Each dish was incredible and had a lovely balance of multiple flavors, many of which you don't typically see together. We got the deviled eggs, izakaya street corn, smash burger, sweet corn gnocchi, and curry poached pear. Our waitress was lovely and attentive and made sure we enjoyed our experience at every step. We are from out of town but will be back regardless!

Thank you first of all to the Winchester for participating in the GR Vegan Chef Challenge! It's a great initiative and it was awesome seeing the turnout. The Winchester's submission, a corned beet Reuben, was fantastic and creative. The flavor, presentation, and quality were all fantastic. I'd definitely love to see it be a permanent addition to the menu! 😊

We stopped in for lunch on a Sunday and had a delightful experience. We ordered the kimchi nachos and fried pickles as appetizers. The nachos are delicious but a tad spicy so beware! For entrees, we had the caesar wrap, french dip, pork sliders, butter chicken bowl, and drunken noodles. We all enjoyed our meals. The server (Yssa) was also super friendly and the perfect level of attentive - 10/10 on her service! We will definitely be back!

Mojo's Dueling Piano Bar & Restaurant is a popular nightlife spot in Grand Rapids, offering lively entertainment and a vibrant atmosphere. The venue features dueling piano performances that encourage sing-alongs and create an energetic ambiance. In addition to the music, the ground-floor eatery serves classic American fare such as burgers, fries, pasta, steaks, sandwiches, and salads. The bar offers a variety of martinis to complement the experience.
Great music from several musicians, all very talented and ready to play your favorite by request. Fun audience participation too.
Loyd P — Google review
The entertainment is always great. It's been about a decade since I have been there until tonight. Came for my 40th bday. I was just not impressed there wasn't any food. Like nothing not even appetizers. So our group of 16 had to go elsewhere. I have never been to a bar they didn't serve food. All the waiters bartenders were great and friendly.
Kari R — Google review
This is a review for the second floor. The first floor is decent if that is your vibe. But no food is a big negative. Plus this last weekend first round of drinks the male bartender on first floor charges me for doubles. Which I did not order and I literally watched him make and they were light singles. A 2 second poor max. I even said to my wife wow that was a light poor. Then charges us $29. The second floor is supposed to be more of a dance club. But the last few years they leave it very bright up there. The vibe is all wrong for dancing. People want it dark and play recent music. I just visited this last weekend because I seen they are bringing in new DJ’s. I was hopeful that would help the music but I was very disappointed. The playlist was more like a rave. Every song was mixed and not in a good way. Plus super bright white floodlights on.If you don’t turn the lights down the best DJ in Michigan will not fill that place. If this is the new example of talent coming in things are not looking good. 10 years ago it was packed every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Now it’s dead every weekend and not even open Wednesdays. It’s not only the DJ it’s more about the ambience. It’s great you are trying to improve I hope it gets back to how it use to be. It could with good talent and proper lighting.

It was a Friday night and we arrived a minute before 9pm and got in for free. Bouncer even commented that we JUST made it in, because cover charge begins at 9pm. We thoroughly, enjoyed the musical talents that evening. We had already eaten dinner elsewhere and had drinks elsewhere, so it was just nice to enjoy the music with other patrons. We would enjoy going back if ever in the area again!
Nancy S — Google review
Edit: also when they take someone’s ID and say it’s fake, and you call non emergency on them (they tell you it’s the only way to get it back) they BAN YOU. God this bar sucks. The workers suck, the drinks are midpack and expensive. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen security go on a power trip. One of the big problems I’ve seen is that the security doesn’t understand new Michigan licenses let alone out of state licenses. When Michigan started with the new IDs, everyone in this bar thought they were fakes, they took peoples licenses and IDs and those same people had to call the police to get it back. Absolutely inane behavior, just avoid this place.
Callum L — Google review
Got absolutely scammed by the male bartender on the main floor this past Saturday night. Charged me and my buddy $29 for TWO redbull vodkas. I almost couldn't believe it & asked if they were doubles and he assured to us they were single pours. Then my buddy tried seeing if there was a price difference upstairs and it ended up being $8.50 for one. How is this possible? Super scammy practices and I won't be coming back. Place was also dead as a doornail at 11pm as well. You wonder why...
Trevor C — Google review
This place is an absolute blast! Highly recommend anyone visiting the area, check this place out. The staff are laid back and friendly, the musicians are very talented and really know how to work the crowd, everyone was having a blast. We spent like 5 hours there hanging out, left for another bar next door and had one drink and went back haha there's a night club upstairs, but unless you're under 25 years old, you should probably just stay downstairs and give the piano man $20 to play some piano man.
Jon — Google review
Easy enough to reserve a table. When we arrived, we were carded (as expected, I'm 21 but look 19) and the host at the front took my ID and started at me for a good minute, looking at me like I was trying to get in with a fake ID or something. It may have had to do with my recent weight loss and hair color change, but I doubt it. Male staff and bouncers were incredibly rude and standoffish, refused to talk to us when we had questions, we had to look for one of the female wait staff in order to figure out what was going on. It was our first night club scene and we were confused as to how things worked. Waitress was very helpful and polite, food was fantastic and relatively inexpensive, around the tune of $10 for an entree. I highly recommend their Margherita flat bread pizza. Mozzarella sticks left more to be desired but I've definitely had a lot worse. Live music was fantastic, they played a lot of '60-'70's classic rock but they did play some Fall Out Boy and they do take requests. Mixed drinks/cocktails tasted cheap and watered down, but the shots were pretty good. Bartenders were nice but a little unprofessional, talking about/making fun of what I assume to be other employees. My friends and I went to go dancing and the upstairs didn't open until 9pm. We went upstairs and there is a small dance floor and a DJ whose music was so overpowered by techno-beats that you could scarcely make out what song was being played. We were honestly a little disappointed with the dance floor but all in all we had a good time. Ended up leaving at 10pm to walk around GR in the rain because it got boring. Probably won't be going back, except for maybe the pizza and the pianos. Definitely won't buy any mix drinks/cocktails again.

Good food. The mixed drinks are served well and the bartenders do a great job, both with their mixing and their attentiveness. Overall, a good atmosphere, but likely better for groups larger than 1-2 people as it's not an intimate setting.

Good food and atmosphere. It’s got a cozy, dimly lit classic bar vibe. Definitely the spot for soccer games. The food can be a bit slow, so if you go during your lunch hour I’d recommend putting your order in quickly. The pit boss wrap is so good. Update: Unfortunately this place has done a major menu change, and not for the best. We’ve tried out the new menu twice now and were disappointed both times. Most recently we tried the sticky chicken sandwich… it was honestly the worst chicken sandwich we’ve ever had. Just downright gross. They’ve also scaled down the portions. Wont be back to this one.

We came down to GR for a food show and decided to check out this place as it was right down the street from our hotel. Em was our server and she was absolutely amazing. And she made THE BEST smoked old fashioned hands down! Check out this place. We didn’t eat this time but we will be back for sure!

COULDN'T KICK US OUT FAST ENOUGH The waiter kept revisiting our table, eventually clearing two of the four setting while the rest of us were still eating. It was annoying enough to inspire me to write a review. Half the tables were occupied,, and it was only 6pm. When the waiter returned to our table a few minutes later, we had to ask him if they had any deserts. Even though it was only 6pm, he told as they were out of everything except for vanilla ice cream. We got the message. I'm not sure what was really going on at this place, but we will not be returning.

My girlfriend and I went in for a few cocktails around 6pm today and we sat all the way in the back near the window, The section didn’t seem blocked off when we arrived, and there was a sign at the host stand that said seat yourself. We sat for about 10 minutes and nobody noticed us so I went up to the bar and ordered our drinks and got a few waters. I offered to wait for the drinks, but the bartender said she would bring them out to us. I returned to my seat and then waited another 10 minutes and it was around this Time a waiter approach our table saying “Oh hey I didn’t even see you back here” Not a hey or a hello, but greeted as an inconvenience for sitting in the back is what it felt like. I explain I had already ordered the drinks and he persisted. We re-ordered them and he said they weren’t put in the system yet. At this point, we have waited 20 minutes for cocktails, which wasn’t that much of an inconvenience because we were just hanging out socializing. The restaurant didn’t seem busy. We waited another 10 minutes, and then I went to approach the bar and my waiter stopped me and said the bartender was making our drinks right now. I approached the bar and so did my waiter and I explained to the both of them if they didn’t start making my drinks yet I would just leave Because I wasn’t trying to wait any longer. The bartender seem flustered and responded with “ You can leave if you want, it’s not skin of our backs.” I told her I would wait for the drinks which by the way weren’t started at all. I returned to my seat and my girlfriend and I decided to leave it was at that moment walking out that I had seen my drink starting to be made. We will not be back and I don’t recommend this place. The service was atrocious.

We came in on a Saturday evening, 7 of us and had made reservations online but honestly there were plenty of tables open when we arrived. We sat in that table in the front, left corner, which was nice since it was warmer there and less noisy. We were greeted right away and was told to sit anywhere we wanted. Absolutely delicious drinks, wow! The smoked chocolate old fashioned is a must. Two of us did their shots and were super impressed with them that one of us ordered another one! Food: chicken wings, hot honey chicken sandwich, BBQ Mac, chili. Chili was my least favorite item but everything was pretty amazing. Great quality and very flavorful. Dessert: home made apple fritter - OMG. It was tiny but DAMN. Prob THE best apple fritter I've had in my life. Just wow. So glad we decided on this place! A must visit if you're in town!

Food is out of this world. Beautiful set up. Was trying to do a tasting of their browns but the waitress tried to pass off a different spirit as a bourbon. It was obvious it wasn’t. I tried hinting I could tell it wasn’t. She insisted it was. I think she realized she goofed because they didn’t charge me for the flight. Sadly I never got to try the bourbon. Their straight whisky and wheat whiskey are good though.

MDRD, located on the 27th floor of the Amway Grand Plaza in downtown Grand Rapids, offers breathtaking views of the city skyline. The restaurant's modern Spanish cuisine and lavish cocktails are complemented by its sleek design and personalized service. With tiered seating, private rooms, and a balcony for eight, MDRD provides an upscale dining experience.
We had a lovely first visit. It was as expected after hearing nothing but high praise since they first opened their doors. We planned a birthday celebration, noted on our OpenTable reservation and received well wishes all throughout our service. We were seated in a private space overlooking the city and were treated with respect and welcome! The food is all top notch quality and flavor and preparation and presentation! All of these details made our first visit an outstanding memory, especially for a milestone birthday of a deserving family member! Our service was wonderful and pleasant and easy going. We appreciated being treated to a high-end experience with a comfortable approach. (We were sure to wear the appropriate business/casual specified on our reservation confirmation but did notice on our way out that other patrons wore more casual attire. I applaud the openness but always like to know how to feel most suitable. Overall, we were definitely glad to not be surprised when we arrived and felt our occasion warranted a dressier vibe.)

Quite the dining experience in Grand Rapids. The view was incredible - and the restaurant is designed to give almost every seat a view (very impressive!) Tapas style dishes were extremely flavorful. Perhaps not fully authentic but not in a bad way - their twist on Spanish food is quite a good take. Drinks were fantastic as well. Definitely will go back - albeit likely for a special occasion.

Best views in Grand Rapids. I absolutely loved this very chic restaurant. The flamenco reserva drink was so refreshing. The food presentation was a surprise. Very beautiful and explosion of flavors in your mouth. We really enjoyed the appetizers, we ordered the wild boar empanadas very tasty. We absolutely loved the spiced ginger carrots. So flavorful with a hint of spicy in it. The pepino salad was a nice surprise if you love pickled foods. The only reason I gave a 4 rating was because the Wagyu steak lacked flavor. The limon dessert Wowww what a fun experience! so delicious!!! Overall we had an amazing experience and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Very romantic. Our reservation was at 7:00 p.m. so the Sun was shining very strong on our table. They do have shades if needed. Our waiter Jeff was so knowledgeable. He explained every single entree with every detail. He did a great job. We would definitely recommend this restaurant. We ordered a nice bottle of tempranillo overall our bill was not a shocker. About $300 for the spanish amazing experience. Worth every penny.

One of my favorite restaurants to celebrate a special occasion. Food, service, and views are always great. Menu changes often though. I am sad they got rid of their beef tartar tapas and dry age ribeye steak entree. This time around we ordered the pork belly tapa, patatas bravas tapa, octopus tapa, waygu steak entree, and pork chop entree. It was a lot of food for two people so we had leftovers.

Just stopped by for a drink on our way through the town. What a nice bar, atmosphere and execution! Drinks are phenomenal and the place has a nice lounge cocktail bar feel. If you like great standard cocktails and really fun specials this is the spot for you!!

Went for the happy hour, excellent old fashioned. The gimlet is also delicious. Glasses are chilled which adds such a lovely touch. The espresso martini is no longer a happy hour item, but you should still get it because it's divine. Connected to a wind bar, the barman was very kind and knowledgeable

Excellent cocktail lounge! The vibe here is great, almost a bit like a speakeasy type feel. Great selection of cocktails and even some wine and beer for those who aren't into cocktails. Bartenders are friendly and informative.

Flanagan's Irish Pub is a vibrant and welcoming spot nestled in downtown Grand Rapids, where the spirit of Ireland comes alive. This festive watering hole has been a beloved part of the community for over 40 years, offering a delightful mix of traditional Irish cuisine and classic bar food favorites. The atmosphere is casual yet lively, making it an ideal place to unwind with friends or meet friendly locals who are always ready for a chat.
im shocked at all the low reviews im seeing because the food and service are amazing! the pulled pork fries are super crispy and the meat is tender and delicious. and the servers are basically running the whole place. they had 2 servers 1 cook and no manager or supervisor to be seen to help them out the nearly 2 hours i was there. im guessing bad management is why they cant keep more than 3 guys at a time.

Can't rate the food, there was none...the kitchen was closed. Sat at the bar, we ordered our drinks and the bar tender forgot about us. When he finally put his phone down and looked up, he realized his error (10 min. later). We were served our drinks in red solo cups. Not very Irish.

Went there for dinner, reserved but got there with a seat yourself sign. We found seat and noticed the available tables were dirty, after we sat down. Here's the review of the food and service. The service was fair at best. The food wasn't worth the $50 spent. The Bangers and mash were not good, the potatoes were cool and the gravy congealed. The Ruben was ok but the fries were greasy. The pretzel bites were greasy and the cheese dip was clearly old and crusted over. The pub was a bit dirty and very loud. The parking next door for just about an hour at Ellis was $9. All in all, not a do over.

Very disappointed …if I could give negative stars I would. If you are looking for something to eat don’t go here. I paid $13 for a tiny burger that I could have gotten from McDonald’s for less than $2. It wasn’t even freshly cooked. Pretty sure it was warmed up, over cooked on the outside. Big rip off for what I paid. And the posted hours, not even close. I walked around town waiting for them to open up at 3, posted hours, only to get there and have the waitress tell me that they opened up at 11am on Sundays. Close…when things are slow I’m informed. Unless you are just looking for a drink, can’t say anything about that as I didn’t have one, don’t bother coming here because the food menu is poor at best. I’ve had burgers at other bars that are AT LEAST twice as big for under $10. And cleanliness, the menu was dirty.
Matthew C — Google review
I gave it two stars because the staff was friendly and hospitable. Besides that everything was mediocre at best. Tiny menu to choose from, long wait which I'm hoping was because they are short staffed and not because they were busy; because they weren't. Tiny, low quality hamburger, on a plain bun with no condiments offered; I had to ask for ketchup and mustard and wait while they struggled to find some. Soft, chewy chips under the top layer of crunchy ones and a pop for $17. Very disappointed. The bun was excellent and toasted which was the highlight of my meal.
Lindsay O — Google review
Really really disappointed. Perhaps the worst Rueben sandwich I’ve ever had. CUBED not shaved corned beef. No sauerkraut, none to very little dressing and maybe cheddar cheese on it! WTH? We ordered pretzel bites as an appetizer and they came out with our meals. Oh and was told when given, we’re out of the cheese dip. WTH? Fish and chips were ok as well as the French fries. My draft beer was refilled in the same old glass not a new cold glass… Totally bummed out.

A decent bar in a great location. Close to the center of Downtown GR, Flanagan’s will never be too far away. With great Irish fare and drinks, the atmosphere is that of a real pub with good music. A fun stop for when you’re bar hopping nearby.

Went here with my two children during our visit to GR Comic-con 2018. It was very busy between the people from the event as well as college football on. The staff was extremely helpful and amazing despite the higher than anticipated demand. Our server Annika was terrific. The food was amazing! Overall it was an outstanding experience.

Pursuit of Happiness Co. is a trendy champagne bar and market located in Uptown GR, offering a variety of bubbles and spritz cocktails made with their own champagne, Blanc de Noirs. In addition to champagne by the glass or bottle, they also serve wine, beer, and specialty cocktails. One unique option is the "Slap Twice & Call Sally" cocktail featuring a locally made popsicle in bubbly or non-alcoholic champagne.
Best first-time experience! Staff was absolutely phenomenal and so sweet! The vibe was minimalist but also swanky! Def my kinda spot and like 2 mins from my house. They had cocktails and delish lil deserts also really great snack items. CanNOT wait to go back!

This was so much better than I was expecting. Cassie is awesome and I'm sure she is the reason why POH is as great as it is. Food was delicious and excellent quality. Priced very reasonably as well. I love that when we asked for more of a few items she happily agreed and charged a very fair price for the extra items. The drinks were perfect! This was our first time here but we will definitely be back. Recommend the charcuterie board, bread and butter, and the burrata.

If you are in Grand Rapids, stopping for a cocktail at Pursuit of Happiness is an absolute must!! Their French Martini goes down as one of my favorite cocktails- think rainbow sherbet flavor with delicate froth. Soooo tasty!! Next, I had the Aviation which was giving me lavender vibes with the crème de violette- it was crisp and refreshing with the luxardo cherry! We shared the charcuterie board which was a fantastic spread and they were able to accommodate our gluten-free friends with GF crackers. Decked with modern, contemporary decor, they also have a display of perfect little trinkets for gifts, and of course, bottles of their house Prosecco to-go if needed (which yes, the answer is YES)!!

Absolutely loved the food, drinks, and vibe! The cod? Flaky, flavorful, and simply amazing with the aïoli. The steak? Melt-in-your-mouth amazing! And the Old Fashioned—it was on pointe. This place ia a hidden gem. Can’t wait to come back for more!

Went here for drinks. Every drink was wonderful, we were a group of 11, and got lucky to walk right in on a Saturday night! Went here after work to celebrate a Bday. Drinks and food here were great. Lovely rooftop atmosphere. My qualms: the waitress had to come back several times tell one of us that they were out of something ordered. To be out of half the things on the menu @ 4PM on a Thursday was a little shocking but we brushed it off. The waitress asking if we wanted our checks multiple times when we were actively still ordering and eating was a bit off putting.

A great rooftop to spend the afternoon eating and drinking. Our server was very helpful with our drink selections and never steered us wrong. They were all excellent. The food was perfect as well. It took us a while to get a reservation, so book early. It's a busy spot, and it deserves to be.

I enjoyed my sandwich and salad. The lamb chops my wife had were very full of grissel and they over saturated her drink with the lime. Outside of that it is a pretty location to dine but I would recommend better lighting on the balcony and for more knowledgeable wait staff. When we placed our order the host didn't ask us if we wanted a table inside or outside and the young lady that served didn't seem sure to know if we needed to go to the bar for service or is she had to serve us at first which is bad form.
Darold H — Google review
Knoop is the hip new rooftop joint in GR, on top of the new hotel Canopy by Hilton. They have indoor and outdoor seating, both tables and lounge style. We sat outside in the lounge. There were some bugs, but it was tolerable and we were outside, so what do you expect? The menu is focused on German and Dutch cuisine styles like pretzels, sausages, and meatballs. There also some great seafood and salad options in addition to standard fare like burgers. Everything has a modern flair to it. While the menu is limited, there's something for everyone. Their signature dish is "Rooftop Chicken", a modern European take on chicken and waffles. I had the lobster quesadilla, which was fantastic. They have an extensive drinks menu with a rather large and unique cocktails list. Cocktails are pretty fancy, with fun presentation and premium ingredients. Also good wine and beer options, with local flights available. Usually it takes a little bit for new restaurants to get the kinks worked out, but everything was running smoothly for us from the get go. We got seated immediately, got drinks and apps promptly, our server was attentive and pleasant, service on the whole was top notch. Prices are a premium, but that's to be expected at a swanky new rooftop joint downtown. If a couple each gets a drink and entree and share an app, you can expect to spend 80 bucks-ish. Overall I'd recommend it, especially as a great date spot for conversation.
Drew L — Google review
Wouldn’t go here again. View is cool but drinks were basic and way overpriced for what you are getting. We also ordered their homemade garlic knots which tasted like they were great value frozen ones heated up in the microwave (also way overpriced). Really bummed. I think the reviews and prices are so high because of the atmosphere alone not based on what you get.

I would love to return next time I’m in town. This place is awesome for date night or a group of people. Good atmosphere, the food I had was awesome, and I received great service from the bartender since I was sitting at the bar. I was wanting a rosé that was dry but very fruity. The bartender had me taste 2 that matched that description and I chose one I liked. I had a salad that was very big and even without protein, it felt filling enough to be my meal. The wine in their store had a great selection too and I left with two bottles to take home.

Loved this place for happy hour! Very nice atmosphere, good menu and music. Danny, our server went the extra mile with recommendations and our request to see the label of the Cabernet we enjoyed. The Cajun crab dip and cheese plate were a perfect combo. At $5 a small plate, you can go wrong. We will be back!

Just enjoyed a first time outing at House of Wines. We ordered 3 flights of wine, charcuterie board, a few additional glasses, and left with an additional bottle of wine. Danny was our server and did a great job, even pointing out that one glass I wanted to order was a certain (higher) price point, which I appreciated the heads up. We will definitely be back!

Five stars! What an amazing tasting room and wine bar! Had a blast and staff was wonderful, knowledgeable and friendly (Ashley waited on us). Wine selection was large and had a great variety from local Michigan wines, to wines around the world. After tasting you can check out the market side and pick up your favorite bottle, and then some! Prices are beyond fair and how fun is it to build your own charcuterie board?!? Can't wait to go back and try more wines. Thanks!

Wine Selection variety is superior. Appetizers and light fare are high quality and well executed. Staff are knowledgeable and extremely friendly. High quality wine at a reasonable price served with matching aperitif right here in downtown GR.

What a fun place - the atmosphere is amazing here. It is honestly a lovely place. The setup is great. The left side is retail - a great little selection of bottles of wine. The right side is the restaurant. A large bar, high top tables, the front being a cozy section of standard tables. There's also a patio section outdoors. For being a small space, they have it set up to fit a lot of people in there. The wine is good - glasses, bottles, flights. They also have cocktails and beer. The food - damnnnnnn, those charcuterie boards are out of this world. You can just order one listed on the menu if you are busy chatting or just lazy, but if you want to be choosy or make it fun you can build your own - As small or large as you want. And they... are... incredible. Beautiful. Delicious. Seriously, do it. The service here was also spot on. We sat at the bar, and our bartender was fantastic. Hopefully she's there the next time I go back.

Drip Drop Cocktail Room is a late-night cocktail bar located in the bustling Bridge Street Entertainment District. It offers a selection of 10-15 artisan cocktails at any given time, featuring classic drinks with a modern twist using fresh herbs, fruits, spices, and island-inspired ingredients. The atmosphere is intimate and upscale, perfect for enjoying carefully crafted cocktails. Visitors highly recommend trying the espresso martini made with rum and fresh espresso or the bourbon old fashioned.
Drip Drop has quickly become my favorite cocktail spot in Grand Rapids. The drinks are always amazing, and the atmosphere is super intimate. I highly recommend this place as an after dinner location. I regularly hit it up after eating across the street at Butcher's. I love sitting at the bar and having Connor and Johnny talk about the different drinks they are making and ideas they have for new menu items. Nick, one of the owners, is always friendly and welcoming, and it's easy to tell how passionate he is about cocktails and Drip Drop.
Matt — Google review
Drip Drop is hands down one of the best cocktail spots in Grand Rapids. The space itself is gorgeous! It's cozy, stylish, and the perfect vibe whether you’re on a date night or just grabbing drinks with friends. You can tell the bartenders know their craft inside and out. What really makes this place shine, though, is the staff. They’re not just talented, they’re genuinely welcoming and passionate about what they do. I’ve always felt taken care of and never rushed. They’re happy to talk through the menu, recommend something new, or even craft something custom based on your preferences. Drip Drop has quickly become one of my favorite spots in the city. If you’re looking for top-tier cocktails and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night, this is the place.
Alpine — Google review
If you have never tried Drip Drop, you are missing out on a gem! The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. Even on weekend when they are busy, you still feel cozy and welcome, like you’re just having drinks in the living room at a friend’s house. Whoever is in charge of the music has wonderful taste, they truly know how to curate a vibe. I especially appreciate that they put so much care into their non-alcoholic offerings. A lot of places just offer soda or an overly-sweet juice “mocktail”. Their mocktails are crafted with the same cordials/syrups/shrubs as their cocktails, and they actually carry NA spirits! As someone who very rarely drinks, it feels nice to have something on the menu that I can enjoy without feeling like an afterthought. You can tell that the owner treats the staff well. As a long time industry veteran myself, you can tell the staff are happy by the gracious and attentive service they provide to their guests. Their bartenders are always happy to tweak recipes (I’m picky… nuff said), or create something entirely unique for you. If you are someone new to the craft cocktail scene, you have to give this place a try. You will never want to go back to a vodka-cranberry after trying their menu!
Michaela W — Google review
My partner and I stopped by Drip Drop for the first time this past Saturday night, and we were greeted with the greatest experience! It was very busy for 11pm but we were able to snag a couple of bar seats, and the bartenders (Connor, Johnny, and another nice gentleman) were so friendly and took their time when walking you through cocktails despite the rush. Our amazing host, who unfortunately I cannot remember the name of (long brown hair), welcomed us to the neighborhood with a complimentary palate cleanser since I had mentioned that we moved down the street not too long ago :)) We got two drinks each, totaling around $60 before tip, so a bit on the pricier side (in my opinion), but the cocktails are unique and it is worth it if you are looking for a cool date-night spot. We will definitely be returning to try out more of the menu!
Hannah F — Google review
Wild that a couple guys who have never been inside drip drop are leaving reviews complaining that they don’t have their own private parking at their house and decide to take it out on this bar…. But I digress. Drip drop is hands down the best cocktail bar in GR. There are plenty of places to get craft cocktails in town, but their drinks take it to the next level. The techniques and ingredients they use are something you’d expect to see in NYC or Chicago. The bartenders have so much knowledge and passion for what they do. I love that they make the bar menu as a team, everyone gets to contribute, so each menu is a combined passion project and you can tell that they care about every drink they put out. The space itself is a haven on bridge street. It’s so cozy and intimate. I especially love coming here later in the night to wind down from my day. This is easily my favorite bar in town!

I’ve been living at The Reserve since July and honestly couldn’t be happier. The apartments themselves are modern, well-kept, and when I got my keys, mine was spotless and smelled amazing (something that was a small gesture but huge impact!) The office staff is always so friendly and quick to help with anything I need, which really makes a difference. Maintenance has been awesome too, any time I’ve put in a request, they’ve come the same day. David especially has been super knowledgeable and professional. It just feels good living somewhere that actually cares about their residents. The property is beautiful, always maintained, and the location is perfect, close to all the shopping in Grand Rapids. Overall, just a great place to call home.

Management has gown DOWNHILL. I lived here for 4 years when it was brand new. The first 2 years were great, but there was a noticeable change soon after. Our air conditioning unit broke on 6/13 and were told my management and maintenance that it would take 20 days for a new unit to come in. That seemed like a long time, but I WISH it took 20 days. We didn't have central air for 106 DAYS!!! They fixed it the WEEK before our lease ended. In between those 106 days, we were ghosted by management whenever we emailed/called/went into the office. We finally reached out to corporate (Peak Management) and it started to pick up movement, but that lasted for about a week. Did they end up prorating our rent for not having central air ALL SUMMER LONG?! Nope. They paid us the difference in Consumer's bills over the months we didn't have central air and only window units. So, for 106 days without central air, we were reimbursed about $380. Meanwhile, we were paying the normal rent that states central air. Management did not take this seriously and we went the whole summer (which was a hot one!) without an amenity we were promised when signing the lease. Before this incident, I would recommend the Reserve at Oxford to anyone, now I'm telling people to avoid at all costs. This management company is money hungry and does not care about their residents.
Brynn S — Google review
Probably the worst management and maintenance that I have ever experienced. Some issues weren’t fixed even after two years of living there and they overcharged for small things such as replacing lightbulbs. Our kitchen ceiling had leaks and they never repainted it. Our door had issues and they never fixed it and I was worried that my key would break every time I wanted to lock/unlock the door. The roads had major issues after the winter and they were not fixed. The overpriced rent was definitely not worth it.
Mohammad M — Google review
If I could give a zero I would. Lived here for almost 6 years. First 3 years were great. Last 3 years horrible under new management. Pool never open, all grass is dead but I’m charged a water and maintenance bill. Would not recommend to anyone.
James P — Google review
Would never rent at Peak managed property again. The grounds flood or become to soggy to walk in the grass after any rain making it extremely messy to take the dog out after. We had a pipe burst in our building twice. The first time we never found out until we found water damage and MOLD since they failed to send anyone out to check our unit. The second time we woke up to water in our hallway and our neighbor had a river coming out of their unit as well as the other unit around it being flooded. We asked to end our lease early as the second occurrence was just weeks before move out but they advised that the only people who would receive any sort of discount or anything would be the people who had the unit where the pipe burst even though the other units also had to deal with the issues. Management seemed undertrained and gave no indication they cared at all about any of the issues. We had to run it up to the regional manager to even get the mold issues addressed after they sent a 3rd party contractor out after we initial found it and this guy was not trained or helpful and just lied to the office about what was found. The craftsmanship is also poor for the price with cabinet doors being hung crooked, door latches not lining up, and just a all around very poor paint job shown in the attached pictures.
B P — Google review
I had put in a work order about my window and around the frame being cracked and Jesse was out to fix it that same day! I also had an incident where my door broke and he came to fix it, at first they thought they were going to have to redo the entire frame, replace the door and everything, but he was able to fix it and only has to come back to finish the wall! Appreciate the quickness of coming and getting it done.
Tori L — Google review
Lived here for two years. My AC was short cycling. Took maintenance looking at it 4-5 times to just say “it’s fine”. I demanded a HVAC worker to look at it, and they had to replace the compressor. Took 6 weeks in the peak of summer to get fixed. I had window units and I was not reimbursed. They said just the power bill difference. I had another issue of sewer gas behind the washer and dryer. Again they kept sending people that couldn’t do anything. They sent an appliance repair man who laughed saying he doesn’t do plumbing. They also sent one plumber who said something was majorly wrong and would have to cut into the walls. They sent one of there local maintenance who just foamed around the cracked pipe leaking sewer gas, didn’t work. I again demanded a professional who replaced all of the washer drain pipes (behind the wall). That was 6 months of sewer gas in my living space. I filed a complaint with the city of Grand Rapids and that’s the only way they stepped up and sent plumbers. My dryer plug melted due to high amperage. Called emergency maintenance due to a burning plastic smell and they said they “couldn’t smell anything”. My neighbor came over and confirmed the burning smell. The plug was replaced after it happened again but seems like a major fire hazard to me not to fix the first time. Towards the end of my lease there were car break ins, stolen packages, cops for multiple domestic violence cases and loud cars coming in blaring music at 2am. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Alt City Beverage Company is a popular spot in the city, known for its wide selection of non-alcoholic craft beers and alcohol alternatives. I found the attitude to be a turn off. I was coming here quite often, and spending quite a bit of money upwards to $50 or more. No more. Sorry, if you plan on treating customers awful, I'm done spending with you. Sorry, try a different business. It took a while to write this, and gave it another try just to be disappointed again.

Hands down best drinks and customer service in Grand Rapids. Highly recommend the campfire smoked maple latte and the brown butter caramel latte. Unbeatable in flavor! Can't wait to go back and try other drinks.

Being from Chicago, I’ve had access to a lot of good smoothie places. I would absolutely say that this place is the best one that I have ever been to. I ordered their ‘Good Morning Darkness’ and my wife got their ‘Kale Yeah Dude!’ Would love to try one of their Zero Proof Cocktails next time!

Located in the heart of Grand Rapids, Leo's Seafood Restaurant & Bar offers a delightful dining experience with its artfully presented seafood and romantic ambiance. Since 2004, this premier restaurant has been committed to sourcing fresh, quality ingredients and crafting exquisite menus. Voted as the best seafood restaurant in Grand Rapids, Leo's is a top choice for those craving delectable seafood dishes.
We picked Leo’s a couple days before coming to Grand Rapids. We were seated right away , recommend making a reservation, and we were about an hour prior to it filling up. Dan our waiter was a total pro, and all the rest of the staff were great and never gave us a need to ask for anything as they were are spot on. We had Mussels and Calamari as appetizers. They were both great. The quality and freshness were outstanding and both were cooked perfectly, and tasted amazing. The entrees, Charred Scallop’s, and Shrimp and Lobster linguine were just awesome. Cooked and seasoned to perfection and came out steaming hot. Never sat under a warmer. The portions were nice too, as you can see in the photos I have attached. I need to mention again how wonderful and attentive Dan and the rest of the staff were. Just wish Leo’s was closer to our home so we could go more often. I can honestly say this was the best food and experience we’ve had since before COVID hit. I highly recommend making Leo’s as a must try restaurant. It’s worth the drive you will not be disappointed.

Went to Leo's for my anniversary and I was not disappointed. Excellent service from Brooke she was so great. The atmosphere was so romantic everything was first class.. The food was unbelievable and the presentation was magnificent. Overall one of the best if not the best experiences I ever had. If ever in Grand Rapids, MI this is a must stop for an extraordinary dining experience you will not be disappointed.

We attended the Mother’s Day Brunch and enjoyed the experience greatly. The surf and turf was amazing, crab deviled eggs were a unique addition to the menu that we loved. Once seated we were served almost immediately, and food was brought out promptly. Both of our waitresses were 10/10. The only reason we are not giving a 5/5 star rating is because when we arrived, we were lead to a table, then brought back to the front as our table was not actually ready.

Great customer service. Our waiter Dan was So helpful with selecting our entrees. We had the lobster and crab cakes. Large pieces of crab. Absolutely delicious! Also we had the surf and turf. The steak was made to perfection. Finished the meal with a delicious chocolate brulee. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Excellent food and service. The key lime pie, seafood pot roast, crab cakes and scallops were amazing! No wonder this restaurant is highly rated. I'll fly back to GRR just for this food!

Leos is an amazing upscale resturant that is totally upscale but totally relaxing and friendly. Not only was the food very high quality and delicious, we surely had the best server ever...Avery. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. My husband likes finding good resturants and he read about Leos. Just so happens we also love Michigan so we planned a mini vacation for our 32nd anniversary around Leos and it was definitely worth our 6 hour drive. Incredible food...Steak and lobster. Sea bass (thanks to Avery suggestion). So delicious. A scallops hor de vores with mango salsa and a free celebration sundae. Perfect evening Le

Wonderful experience from booking to bill. They ask when booking if the reservation is for a special event (ours was birthdays). They greeted us with “Happy Birthday”, checked our coats and seated us right away. We started with adult beverages. The drink menu was holiday/winter themed (fun!) we had the goat cheese salad & Lobster Bisque for appetizers. Chilean Sea Bass and Branzino were our entrees. Compliments to the chef (insert chef’s kiss here) The service was impeccable. The wait staff positioned themselves to not interrupt our time together, unless necessary. Our main server (Brook) timed her visits perfectly. The space was a 5 minute walk from our hotel and the neighborhood was very walkable. Parking was abundant if needed.

The Green Well is an eco-friendly gastropub in Grand Rapids, offering a diverse menu and a selection of local and European beers. It was one of the city's first gastropubs and has since become very popular. The restaurant is known for its Pig & Fig appetizer and Truffle Fries, as well as dishes like the Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich, BBQ Pork & Polenta, and Green Well Double Burger.
I had my first brunch experience at The Green Well, and it definitely won’t be my last. The service was warm, welcoming, and attentive. I ordered the Pork belly Benedict with potatoes, and it was outstanding. The pork belly was rich and flavorful with just the right amount of crisp, and it paired beautifully with the perfectly poached eggs, creamy hollandaise and sautéed onions. The potatoes were golden and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Everything came out hot and beautifully presented, and the entire experience felt both relaxed and elevated. Highly recommend The Green Well for anyone looking for a top-notch brunch spot with great food and excellent service.

Friendly, retro infused diner/bar with a slightly elevated menu. Delicious food with a small menu, which I think helps restaurants do their dishes exceptionally. Fresh ingredients and a lively atmosphere make this a great spot to visit just a few minutes outside downtown Grand Rapids. I would easily give this great spot to grab a bite and a drink 5 stars, if only they had one or two more vegan/vegetarian friendly options. Would absolutely recommend this place for a date, casual visit, or to hang out in the bar area with friends. Thanks for the great food and cool atmosphere. Would love to come back and dine outside once the weather improves!

High quality food cooked perfectly. I tried the roasted dry rub airline chicken with broccolini and salad. It tasted delicious and perfectly cooked. My wife ordered the salad with chicken and said it was great. My daughter tried the lasagna and it was outstanding. The noodles were homemade and the sauce very excellent. We highly recommend the dishes we tried. Our server, Cooper, was on point regarding efficient attention. The patio was the perfect place to have dinner. It was next to a small park and had trees sheltering the sunlight. One note, credit card use has an extra fee.

When first walking in, the host was very friendly and quickly got us to our seats. It was busyand it was oddly quiet but quite nice. The restaurant was very clean and the wait staff was amazing. Food: We ordered the smash burger and it was perfect. There was no oily mess and it wasn't comically topped with ingredients. The fries that came with it were a nice mix of soft and crisp and came with a delicious Dijon aioli dipping sauce. The meatloaf was moist and sat on a generous amount of creamy mashed potatoes. It was also paired with some semi sweet carrots that went nicely with it. The top of the meatloaf had a nice crust and right amount of ketchup (maybe?) And had a great sweet smokey flavor to it. I recommend both dishes. I will be revisiting this place plenty a time in the future!

Nice place to go on a Tuesday night - not too crowded at all. Outdoor seating was more full. The food was flavorful and they had a good selection of appetizers, drinks, entres, and desserts. Our waiter was very down to earth and helpful.

Update This place is really worth a visit. We recently visited and would recommend the Al Pastor bowl and the Autumn Harvest Spaetzle. The fried rice from kids menu is great as well. Previous review: This is truly a gem in Grand Rapids. We went here for a lunch on a weekend and were seated in the patio. The place is laid back and quiet. For appetizer we had the street corn dip. The dip was tasty and the torilla chips were great! For main course, we ordered the green well curry with tofu ( was pan seared) and the Nashville hot fried mushroom. Both had very distinctive flavors that we really enjoyed. In the end it was really hard for us to pick one dish that we enjoyed the most as everything we tried was really good.

Dinner before a show at the Wealthy Theatre on a Saturday night. Restaurant was busy, but no waiting for a table in their nice area outside…this was after 7pm. What a great place!! It’s a pop back to the good ole days. From scratch cooking, great vibes and the only place you can where using their restroom is super fun. Well done! The service was great. Had the autumn sangria and that was really tasty. My hubby had the brown ale special and he really liked that. I got the fried chicken pickle Mac. The fried pickles were ok, had better, but loved the cheese curds and chicken! The Mac and cheese could use a little more flavor but it was still really good. My husband got the Mac burger and he also said it could use some more flavor. We would definitely be back

Best mac and cheese I’ve ever had. I’m mostly vegan, rarely eat dairy, but this….next level delicious. I’m pretty sure they took this one off the menu :( chipotle ketchup on top. They do change the menu frequently which I think is a good thing! Tried a vegan “tv dinner” as well which was amazing. Everything has been great. Slightly pricey but can’t complain too much with how great it is.

Electric cheetah is one of those restaurants in Grand Rapids that you can go to and almost everyone will find something that they really like on the menu. I highly recommend checking them out for lunch and looking at their combination menus. We got the pick four which we were able to pick from various sandwiches, salads, soups, and sides. Great food, great prices, great quality.

Great eclectic take on classic American foods! I had the leftover meatloaf sandwich. What a surprise to the tastebuds to get the funky lamb in there with the bitter complexity of brussel sprouts, and the smokey heat of the chipotle ketchup. My wife had the classic grilled cheese with added texture and flavor of a tomato and pickled red onion. Reasonably priced for the area. Great service. FABULOUS decor. Seriously, they spent some good money well on the design of that place. Will be back for sure.

So in one of my trips into GR I searched healthy food restaurants in the area and this place popped up. Glanced at the menu and grabbed my friend and headed over. Started out with a little wine and a Thai salad. Thankfully my friend and I like splitting food because the salad was huge and absolutely delicious. Honestly when we finish they had to rip the plate away from us before we started licking it. Lol. Not really but I think you get my point. Then I got the iconic fried chicken tv dinner meal and my friend got the Ruben. Absolutely wonderful. I won't leave a review if im not happy with my stop and im so happy to have stopped here. Fabulous. Keep it up.

Had the brisket Mac and cheese, was pretty decent, could have been a little more cheesy for me. I was hoping for a few different root beers, but they had been busy the previous couple of days and were out of most of their root beers. Apple spice cake was delicious and the monster cookie was really good.

Sundance Grill is a popular spot with two locations in Grand Rapids, offering a quiet atmosphere and an extensive menu. The 28th St. location has been a favorite among brunch lovers since 1985, serving Southwest-inspired American favorites like Churro Pancakes and Bacon & Chorizo Tacos. Additionally, the downtown location provides stunning rooftop views, making it an ideal place for a romantic dinner or even a proposal.
Got to Grand Rapids and was hungry so my Girlfriend and I looked up something to eat. We had our kids with us so honestly we were looking for french fries. We read the menu and saw fries and also was walking distance from our hotel so off we went. We got there and we were the ONLY people and seated. The gentleman that was our server was so friendly and helpful. They had a huge kids menu too. The kids wanted pancakes but stopped serving breakfast at 3pm it was 3:15, so he asked if the chef would mind, the pancakes were made!! The Chef name Coach came out to talk with us as well he was kind, warm and engaging. My girl had her food custom made and they didn't blink an eye. The food SLAPS so hard!! Love was truly put in it and we could feel it. The kids ate all they could as well. Needless to say GO HERE!! The staff, food and overall environment is fantastic.

Great place I recommend if your in the area for breakfast wasn’t very busy. Service was great. Our waiter did a very good job explaining everything and going above and beyond. I don’t remember his name, but he almost seem like an owner or something. Their food was great decent priced we had breakfast there. Some of our crew got the mimosas and they loved them. I suggest going out of your way to visit this place. Sorry my pictures aren’t the best.

I came here today for some drinks. Me and my wife got a small pitcher of prickly pear margaritas. The menu price was 23 and got the bill noticed it charged 26. Didn’t want to make it a big deal over 3 bucks but I said something just to understand the pricing and the waitress told me it’s because we got a flavored margarita. that didn’t make sense because the classic margarita was 19 and the prickly pear was 23. so the manager talked to me about it and he rudely just said i guess I’ll have the waitress give you 3 dollars back and walked away. No apology.

This is an awesome tex mex spot for breakfast and if you are a fan of savory breakfast I highly recommend checking them out. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I got the avocado toast and my fiancé got the chorizo biscuits and gravy. Both were excellent and I plan to return next time we are in Grand Rapids. Their cinnamon roll is VERY large and we ended up eating it for 2 days of breakfast afterwards, so be warned! Highly recommended.

15 mins after being seated we never had a server to come take our drinks nor food order. After a few more minutes of waiting, a server finally showed up to take our order and drinks. 15 mins later, still no drinks or food and server was MIA at this point. Flagged down another server to see if she can find out where our food and drinks are. With an attitude, she asked if we even checked with a host before sitting down. The entire experience was unprofessional and snooty. First and last time there indefinitely.

The Detroit location was our go-to, so we were bummed when it closed…but the Grand Rapids location is just as good! Beautifully crafted sushi, packed with flavor, and served in an upscale, welcoming atmosphere. So glad we have another location to enjoy!

Love this spot for date night! All of the appetizers are amazing but the crab rangoon dip is definitely a favorite. We always end up ordering multiple of the crouching tiger specialty roll because it is THAT good. The restaurant is typically full on weekends so I would recommend making a reservation, however, typically you can make an online reservation 30 minutes to an hour prior to when you want to eat and they were able to seat us immediately. Service has always been great, but plan on 1 to 2 hours for dinner just because of the time it takes to make each of the rolls. The quality of the food is definitely worth the wait. Best sushi restaurant in Grand Rapids hands down!

My husband and I went here on a Monday evening and it was lovely! My husband got a specialty roll and I got Salmon nigiri and gyoza. The sushi was good quality and flavorful. They also had some speciality lemonades and I tried the Mango flavor. It was delicious! Our waitress was kind and answered all our questions. I've only been to the BOB during Art Prize and I've only tried their pizza, so take this review with a grain of salt. Pizza was decent. Brew selection was pretty good except they were out of my top choice. Fun atmosphere, multiple levels. I'd go again.

The good: The atmosphere was nice. The bad: You are basically your own waiter The ugly: Our food was cold. By the time we got it, it was room temperature, and there were no servers to help us remedy the situation. Just the very occasional person running orders out from the kitchen. They were no help. Yet they still had the nerve to ask for a 20% or more tip in the food. Not sure why. They certainly aren’t giving the patrons attentive service. We will not be returning.
Erik K — Google review
I was recently here celebrating my 21st birthday with friends. When we arrived everything was great, friendly staff and a nice environment. Unfortunately the bartenders changed shortly after and they were terrible. Openly pouring half shots into drinks and claiming they were doubles (still charging double price) to multiple people was the first problem. They charged me $10 for a $4 drink, and when we asked if prices changed as the night goes on we were told no. To top it off the drink was extremely weak. Total rip off of an evening and we left for better bars.
Dylan C — Google review
We were greeted after sitting at the bar however we had to flag down a server to order food. They didn't check on us and the location was not busy. They did check on the couple next to us 3 times during their maybe 30 minute visit. The chicken ordered was served hot and fresh however the fries were warm at best. The beer was ok. I was visiting the area, when I return to the area I wouldn't visit again, due to not feeling like a valued customer.

The family-friendly farm offers activities such as apple picking and corn mazes during the fall harvest season. Visitors can also enjoy year-round shopping and dining experiences at the venue.
I absolutely love this place! Not only does it have the best donuts around that are warm and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the cookies I recently tried were amazing too! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming, the activities are fun for everyone, apple picking is fun (first time I ever apple picked was here!), the store is also cute with a lot of local items. Also, the winery is amazing and you can also do wine tasting! This is definitely a family staple around West MI and a must go to!

I went off season (no outdoor activities involved) and was so impressed by this little gem in Grand Rapids. The donuts were beautifully soft and so satisfying. Additionally, everyone at the wine cellar was so friendly and so helpful. Though very sweet, I loved their recommendations, and I’m so glad I bought bottles to share of their peach Spumante. They did offer a discount if you buy 4+ bottles. Also, loved hearing that their wines support local MI farmers as all the fruit used for the fruit wines comes from MI farms.

Robinette’s never disappoints! The apples are always crisp and fresh, the cider is the best around, and the warm homemade donuts are worth the trip alone. I also love stopping for a wine tasting,it’s such a fun and cozy experience. The employees here are truly wonderful. On my last visit, I couldn’t find a specific apple variety, and one of the staff not only walked me right to them but also took the time to explain the differences between a few others I might like. That kind of thoughtful service makes you feel so welcomed.♥️♥️♥️♥️

Mid-sized apple orchard. They have a few children’s activities but not as much as some of the others in the area. We did the horse drawn wagon ride and that was very nice. The petting zoo was just a few animals in individual pens. The donuts line was way too long. It seems they could have a better process for it. No other lines outside of that. They only had one type of apples for U-pick and it was $25 per bag. We couldn’t bring the children in with us for the wine tasting. There was a small slide and a jumping pillow. The jumping pillow was for children over 3 so we didn’t participate as one of our little ones was only 2. It seems like a great place to spend an afternoon if you live in the area however, not exciting enough for our annual fall weekend trip.

Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery was the perfect weekend spot for my family. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt open, clean, and well cared for. We brought our dog along and were pleasantly surprised that he was allowed to join us outside. The outdoor seating area was beautiful — surrounded by trees and open space, it made for a peaceful, relaxing meal. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious, though a bit on the salty side for our taste. Still, the flavors were fresh and satisfying. The combination of great service, scenic surroundings, and family-friendly policies made this a memorable visit. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend Robinette’s to other families (especially those with dogs) looking for a relaxing place to enjoy good food, local wine, and a beautiful outdoor setting.

Honestly a little disappointed. Just seems your whole business is a little dishonest. Your pies packed in your boxes are just GFS pies and your coffee here, while good, is marked with a wonderful from Michigan sticker making it seem local. It’s from Wisconsin. Again, great coffee but the negative review is more so with how you’re marketing yourself with less than honesty and it seems a bit shady.

It’s so fun to be in the city and drive about 10 min and be at an apple orchard. This place is busy busy on weekends but that’s how it goes. If you don’t like crowds, don’t come on the weekends. Great experience, we enjoyed the food and atmosphere and will be back, I really enjoyed the table side Carmel Apple and shrimp cocktail was delicious. Everything was great.

If you are looking for a unique and intimate restaurant in Grand Rapids, then Mertens is a great choice! We had the flavor packed chateaubriand for two which had our mouths watering with every bite. The crisp edges of the steak were absolutely delicious. The potatoes and green beans were excellent side dishes and we ate every bite. The fancy drinks, cheesecake, and staff were also fantastic and made our anniversary dinner very special.

Was a sad experience this evening. I was really looking forward to a grata birthday dinner but was sorely disappointed. The onion soup was pretty good as a starter, but the $125 we spent on a chateaubriand should have been better. The cut itself was from a big box packer maybe? It just was not of the caliber we were expecting. Then the cook maybe left it under the broiler and got distracted because it was char broiled on the outside, more that it should be. The “potato puree” tasted like instant potatoes. The seasoning on all of it was off. The it was sliced down the center and two hunks were put on a plate w a dollop of roasted garlic and herb butter. Presentation was horrid. All in all the atmosphere was good and I absolutely love old buildings and history, but the food was really lacking.

Was really disappointed with our experience here. We wanted a nice dinner for our anniversary and this place looked promising. Upon sitting down and ordering drinks/apps, we were told that they were out of almost half the menu. Our first, second, and third picks for meals were all out. The appetizer we want, also out. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles, but the waffles had to be substituted for French toast sticks. Thought this was an upscale restaurant, not a middle school cafeteria. I got the seafood ravioli and the shrimp that topped it was horrible. Truly I have never had worse cooked shrimp. It was so tough and chewy, like eating rubber bands. But considering we waited well over an hour for our food to come out, I was so hungry I ate it anyway. In their slight defense, the waitress offered to see if there was anything they could do about the shrimp, but at that point we just wanted to leave and it wasn’t worth the hassle. Everything here took soooo long. Each time I requested a refill, it was a minimum 15 minutes. They may be going through a specifically hard time or hard night, but I would never return. We were celebrating our anniversary and it really killed the whole vibe. Paid a whole lot of money for crappy food that took too long to come out and service that didn’t really make up for it.
Brenna G — Google review
Not at all the fine dining experience l expected. Much can be improved here: the menu was basic and did little to reflect the French theme; the appetizer l ordered was not in stock; the wait staff looked bored; a reservation party had booked the entire rooftop so we couldn't have our drinks up there; and there was no ambient music at all. I brought my fiance here for a romantic dinner, and we were frustrated at the overall lack of much to set this place apart at this price point. There were however a few redeeming qualities of our visit: the brief roof top view we snuck in while the reservation party was downstairs; the old world decor combined with sleek contemporary design, plus extremely well made cocktails. I would love to see this place succeed as it has been a favorite since it opened as New Hotel Merten years ago, but l fear it might not survive the competitive market as its current iteration.

Had an amazing experience here on a Tuesday with my new wife! The drinks were fantastic, and our server Vega was outstanding and personable. I had the chicken & waffles and it tasted like it could have came from the south (I lived in charlotte and my dish here was even better than I had there). My wife got the ribeye and Brussels sprouts and was extremely happy. We will be returning soon!

Did a birthday happy hour here. The food was delicious. The steak was cooked just right. The best part of the meal was my espresso martinis. So freaking good. The service was awesome and incredibly kind. We definitely will be back

I really wanted to love this place. Made a reservation about a month in advance for Valentine's Day. The woman hostess didn't smile, say hello or even wish us a happy Valentine's Day. She seemed like we were bothering her. OK, shown to our table; lots of other couples, this showed promise! Sat for easily 15 minutes before our waitress took our drink order. Probably another 15 or 20 before we received them. The whole night went like this. Our waitress was friendly when we saw her, which wasn't often. The poutine was excellent. Our cocktails were excellent. My husband ordered a steak rare and it came out well done. Overall I was extremely disappointed for what's supposed to be a higher end restaurant in Grand Rapids. Would I go back? I'd probably give them another try, but not for dinner.

One Bourbon is a Southern-inspired eatery and bar located in the Bridge Street Entertainment District of Grand Rapids. The restaurant offers a rustic and industrial interior, serving up reimagined classic dishes alongside an extensive selection of over 100 bottles of bourbon. Signature dishes include the Chicken N Waffles, Bourbon Beef Poutine, and Georgia Egg Roll. Happy Hour deals are available Tuesday through Saturday from 4-6pm, featuring discounts on drafts, wine bottles, and house cocktails.
My wife and I celebrated my birthday at One Bourbon Friday night 03/14/25. We couldn’t imagine a better night from the friendly staff, the best customer service and amazing food! We truly had a great time and thankful we chose One Bourbon. Steve took great care of us and we appreciated it! He was the best. I ordered the filet medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. My old fashioned was amazing as well. My wife ordered the burger and that was done perfectly. I don’t have anything negative to say… it was a perfect evening! Thank you!

Food and drinks were fantastic. I appreciate that the whiskey cocktails provide an option for bourbon or rye. The salmon was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We even saw the owner running around and assisting mg with staff, which I always respect as a former server! The sweet notes in the women’s bathroom were a nice added touch. This restaurant feels like a classy establishment when it comes to the quality of food and beverage while still being down to earth and welcoming. You can get away with wearing jeans or a nice outfit here.

I went for the burbon but when I go back it will be for the burger. Yes they have an amazing selection of burbons at very reasonable prices but their burger Best burger i have had in a long time. The staff was awesome very friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere and vibe of the place was great. Just a fun evening to treat myself to an end of a long work week.

Unique bar/restaurant on the city’s west side (just west of downtown GR). Has old bourbon bar feel inside with a fun & playful feel in the outdoor seating area. Only reason for 4 stars is the price (too expensive for what you’re getting). Otherwise everything was on point; service, atmosphere, and the food was all great. Party tried the cheese curds to start (light & airy with a decent aioli). Then we tried the Tennessee Chicken and the Bourbon burger with Nashville hot fries. TN chicken was good (hardly 3oz of chicken was not worth the $30) but the potatoes, green beans, and mushroom sauce were very tasty. The Bourbon burger was slightly overcooked (ordered med, came out well done) but the flavors were perfection! Too much oil on the Nashville hot fries but they were good. Coke products are a plus. Overall, the decent food & good service and atmosphere made it a nice visit - just not a fan of spending $95 (w/tip) for two people with NO alcohol and very little to take home.

Today I tried their featured mint chocolate chip torte! I am not usually a fan of mint chocolate but wow! This isn’t just dessert—it’s an awakening. First bite, the mint smacks you like a cool breeze after a summer storm. Then the Oreo crunch barges in—rich, chocolatey, unstoppable. The texture? Creamy yet crunchy, soft yet solid—it makes no sense, but it’s perfect. By the second forkful you’re not even at the table anymore—you’re barefoot in the grass, ten years old, staring at the stars. By the third, you realize this isn’t dessert… this is destiny.

Stopped by after a visit to JB Zoo, and wow, the food was amazing. I had the honey lavender lemonade and my boyfriend had a grand armory “wheezing the juice” IPA, both were delicious. But the food was on another level!! I had the dill lemon salmon, he had the salmon silders, both were phenomenal. The jalapeño popper dip?? Insane. Our server, Ian, was the cherry on top. His service and recommendations were great. 10/10 Great visit, wish we lived closer because I would be a regular here. The atmosphere on the patio is perfect for summer, service was great, food was phenomenal.

A fairly good selection of bourbons. Prices average, standard pours are small 2oz. I have found other places in GR with interesting bourbons with two and three finger pours for the same prices or less. The atmosphere was comfortable. We didn't eat so I can't comment on the food. What I liked most was the friendly and accommodating staff.

The Grand Rapids Downtown Market is a spacious food hall that offers a diverse range of culinary experiences. Visitors can explore specialty food and drink shops, attend cooking classes, and discover incubator kitchens for food startups. The market features artisanal vendors from the region, making it an ideal spot to pick up fresh ingredients for home-cooked meals or enjoy a quick lunch while sightseeing.
What an outstanding market! A culinary dream come true. I’m not sure I could keep this review to less than 6 paragraphs if I got going, so I’m going to post some photos of my weekend instead. I hope everyone has a chance to experience how wonderful this market is in person. Great Job, Keep up the outstanding work.

Assorted food vendors. Prices are pretty inflated at most places we visited. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the walleye fish and chips meal and the smoked salmon from Fishlads. I enjoyed the boneless wings from the Juju Bird and Brian was friendly. I would definitely skip tacos from Tacos El Cunado. No one was present and I ordered myself on a kiosk. The girl came back after and I asked to add lettuce and tomatoes to the tacos and she said okay. Luckily I looked before leaving and it was only beef in a tortilla. I ordered 2 tacos at 4.00 each and chips and salsa and guacamole for an additional 3.75 and somehow my order was over 17.00 . Food below subpar. I would also skip the lemonade at the Chewie Bitez as it tasted of fake powder lemonade definitely not fresh and ran over $17 for 2 without having any Boba in them, the huge brownie was also days old( dated) and extremely dry. The chocolates from Loves ran $3 per tiny piece but my kids really wanted to try them. Although they were beautiful they were extremely over priced for the quality and size. The kettle corn from Dorothy and Tony's was very good.

The Grand Rapids Downtown Market is a lively food hall with a mix of local vendors and more commercial offerings. It features a cheese bar with a good variety of cheeses and a large selection of wines, making it a great stop for cheese and wine lovers. The market also includes a bakery, various food vendors, a spice shop, and a place for handmade soap, offering a nice mix of specialty items. However, some visitors might find that the market leans a bit more toward commercial products than expected, rather than purely artisanal or locally crafted goods. Still, it’s a fun place to explore, grab a bite, and shop for unique ingredients or gifts.

Its a wonderful location. You can get great foods, wines, spices and more there. A couple bakeries, some restaurants, a wine store a cheese store, a butchery and a fish monger are all some of the things available inside. The prices can be pretty steep in some of the places, particularly with the fish, but thats more or less, the nature of the beast on the whole. Vendors were all great and service with a smile.

Margaux is a chic and inviting restaurant located in the historic downtown district of Grand Rapids, inside the JW Marriott. The restaurant offers a modern twist on classic French cuisine, with locally sourced dishes served in a modern space featuring floor-to-ceiling windows. Executive Chef Jenna Arcidiacono delights diners with an elevated bistro fare menu that includes dishes like steak frites, coq au vin, and bouillabaisse.
It was my second visit at Margaux and JW Marriott. Restaurant is modern well designed. Bar area is my favorite. Just elegant, comfortable, nice ambiance. Tasty cocktail also no alcohol good selection 🍷👌 Service polite and nice. Food is OK / good. Beautifully served attention to the details, I really appreciate. I my opinion and other guests after eating 6 meals, is lacking flavor, flat taste. Breakfast buffet is not great too. For this price I expect would expect more. My opinion is base on comparison to Hilton and other Marriott’s. Bar is Great 🔥👌

We stopped by for brunch today . My husband always travels Marriott so we know the hotels well , but were very disappointed with the food and service at this place We arrived around 12pm . The restaurant was not busy . We had a table in the back of the restaurant which really needed some soul and decoration . It looked sad . The tables had white tablecloths , but they were not ironed well and looked tacky . My husband ordered a smashed burger and an old fashion , I ordered an avocado toast with sunny side eggs . The cocktail arrived after 30 minutes ! in glassware that looked like plastic . The overall cocktail did not look estheatically good . It looked like an ice tea . At 12.50 the food had still not arrived ( 50 min waiting ) . I tried multiple times to catch somebody’s attention , but servers kept going by without watching guests . When I finally inquired , the server explained the kitchen was backed up . I would advise to set these expectations at the onset to avoid frustrations . When the food finally came , it tasted good but did not look great . My avocado toast had scrambled eggs thrown on top of the toast . ( not sunny side up ) and that was about it . The server apologized for the wait and removed the cocktail from the check . Not his fault . But the place needs to be reviewed for JW Marriott standards . From the server training , uniforms , the food in the buffet and the overall plating of food . Far from being a JW Mariott experience .

TLDR: We’ve been here multiple times and have never been disappointed with the cocktails, food or service! It’s a beautiful environment and atmosphere inside the JW Marriott hotel downtown Grand Rapids! We’ve been visiting this bar/restaurant for over a year now, sometimes out of convenience due to the location and until last visit for The Emperor’s New Groove, my absolute favorite cocktail ever created, that I DON’T have a photo of and that they JUST took off the menu 😭😭😭 However, they have many other delicious options which I’m happy to try. This visit, I ordered the Strawberry Blonde (which I loved and ordered a second) and he ordered the Margaux Signature Old Fashioned - the first try with Makers 46 and second try with Buffalo Trace- he preferred the Makers and I preferred the Buffalo 😝 He ordered the full size Caesar salad (add blackened chicken breast and shrimp) and I ordered the accompaniment Macaroni Gratin- which he ended up ordering a second portion of for himself 🤤 because it was so satisfying! I forgot to take a picture of the dessert menu, so I can’t exactly remember what we ordered for dessert but it was a fantastic chocolate cake/ mouse/ gelato with caramel sauce. All of it pieced together perfectly! They have a large selection of top shelf liquors, a very friendly and attentive staff, and a beautiful view of the river. UPDATE: We have visited a few more times since my review, so I thought I’d do a quick update! We stopped in for Mother’s Day brunch (since both of our mothers were out of state) and it was lovely! The price was more than usual because the buffet included more than usual on account of the holiday. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT skip the omelette station! The chef (my sincerest compliments) made me the most delicious omelette I’ve ever had in my life, and was such a lovely gentleman! I’m rarely impressed with anything because I’m me 🤣😫, but he and the staff at Margaux never cease to impress. The brunch pastries were absolutely delicious. Another highlight was the smoked salmon. The meats were supposedly scrumptious as well (I’ll take his word for it since I don’t eat meat 😅). Last highlight- the sherbet mimosa was super refreshing and not too sweet. Our next visit was for birthday dinner with friends, and we sampled quite a few cocktails. We revisited the strawberry blonde (lovely and not too sweet), the Mr. Pink (one of my new faves), the Aurora Borealis (the visual reminds me of Halloween, and when it starts mixing, you can really see the appropriateness of the name), the What’s Up, Doc? (I would have never ordered, but after having a sip of it from my friend’s drink, I may have changed my mind 👀), a Dirty Martini (reported to me as “as expected”), and an East of Eden- I was hesitant to order this drink because I generally don’t love cucumber, but I’m all about trying new things, and it was very refreshing). We ordered the Cheese Plate, as we usually do, and I can’t say enough how happy it made me to not see the duck pate on the board 😬. Being on the cheese! 😅 The birthday girl ordered the Filet Au Poivre (reported to be wonderful), two of us ordered the Crabe Royal (and, oh my, was it flavorful! Definitely a new favorite for me), and one of us ordered the special which was a 45 day aged 12 oz New York strip steak. He subbed the frites for Macaroni Gratin. He said that while the steak was good, it feels cold on the outside and he would have preferred it charred for flavor. He did admit that he generally prefers a filet mignon, and does not prefer this cut, so while the steak may actually be great, it wasn’t his favorite. The staff brought my friend a surprise birthday treat, which I had a bite of and it was SO GOOD- a very rich flourless chocolate torte-type thing with perfectly fresh berries. We’ll be back soon! There is valet parking available, otherwise you can park on the street or in the parking garage.

Lovely room and menu. As it should be, duck confit meat was moist and skin crispy- perfect. Excellent sauce and perfectly cooked veggies. Wife's pasta dish was excellent and very filling. The room is lovely and quiet enough for conversation. The bar had several patrons but wasn't noisy. Dinner was much better than breakfast. Breakfast menu was comprehensive and there was a buffet option. Coffee was just okay. Cocoa was an oversweet mix, not hand made. Even so, had we not so enjoyed dinner, we would have been satisfied with breakfast.

I had high expectations for Margaux, but the experience fell short. The asparagus in my starter wasn’t prepped properly — the bottoms were tough and sinewy — which speaks to a lack of care in the kitchen. Service was polite but unpolished; my server seemed new, and basics were missed. Ice water was served with only a few cubes, my empty glass sat unrefilled, and dirty plates remained on the table while she focused on resetting others. At these prices, I expect attentive, professional service and properly prepared food. The ambiance is elegant, but the execution didn’t match. Overall, the restaurant feels overpriced for what it delivers.

Definitely one of the best dinner experiences, my man Patrick went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable birthday evening. The views from the balcony are out standing, the breeze from the river makes it even better ! We had the hearth roasted sea food for 2, $85 . We tasted bitterness in every bite because carbon from roasting , but the crab was juicy and delicious. Patagonian king Prawn was cooked well and juicy. Lobster tail was good. Old fashion was fantastic. Sparking wine is good. Surprise birthday cake was perfect !

It was our first time in Grand Rapids, we were there for the auto show. Decided to give Margaux a try and boy are glad we did. I cannot say enough about this place, the atmosphere was beautiful, the food was EXCELLENT! Even better was the service, our server Melissa went out of her way to make our experience amazing!!! Shout out also to Catherine, for great conversation! We were invited back for brunch the next day and it was just as good! We will definitely make the trip again just for Margaux.

Živio is a low-key establishment that offers a variety of standards from Greek, Turkish, and Bosnian cuisine. This modern European tavern and grill serves dishes influenced by the cooking traditions of Central European countries. Their menu includes salads, wraps, gyros, and dinner entrees. One notable drink they offer is the Zivios Popsicle Sangria cocktail which can be made with either Red Sangria or Rose Sangria and comes topped with fruit and an orange peel.
I ate at Živio one summer evening with two friends. The service was good, and the interior was clean, bright and modern. The food was delicious. I had the beef stroganoff, and that was wonderfully savory with plenty of bread and pasta. I was really satisfied with the quality and quantity. If you’re hungry and looking for a good meal, you can’t go wrong with this choice.

Truly amazing spot, I see why this place is so well reviewed. It had been on my list for a while, so was excited to check it out. The halloumi fries were insanely good, as was the gyro and the pita. I would love to give them 5 stars, I've been here multiple times and the food is delicious...however the service is just so-so and the air conditioning situation is an issue... it's so hot in there. The outdoor seating is generally more pleasant than sitting inside, even when it's very hot outside! The wait staff don't seem to communicate with each other at all. Three people asked if we wanted to move from the bar to the patio but no one brought the waters we asked for repeatedly until we got cocktails. Staff are very nice but when it's in the 90s and the ac is broken... at least make sure there's water! This has only been an issue when I sat at the bar though (the water, not the temp). All that said the food is absolutely worth it.

Greek style. Naan tacos and beef stroganoff were phenomenal! Flavor explosion! Sangria picture was yummy!!! We added the boozy popsicle for $2 Naan tacos come with three. One shrimp, second chicken, and third beef. There are no substitutions which sucked for me not eating red meat BUT the other two tacos were great and the other person had my beef taco.

Discovering the perfect location to satisfy your craving for Chicken and waffles should not be a challenging task. After thoroughly examining 2361 restaurants in Grand Rapids on Yelp and Google, along with studying 823905 restaurant reviews and 52 lists and articles from Experience Grand Rapids and Gayot: The Guide to the Good Life, we have compiled a comprehensive list. One notable establishment that stood out is The Friesian Gastro Pub.
POUTINE WEEK! September 13-28 on Michigan St in Grand Rapids. - Braised Short Rib Poutine (GLUTEN-FREE!!) - $20: It was the only gluten-free option we could find. Poutine has gravy which is typically made with flour, but can be made with corn starch. They have a gluten-free option which is basically without the Mint Gremolata (which we didn’t want anyway). It was the last serving of the night since they ran out. It was VERY good, so I can see why it ran out. The hand-cut fries were medium shoestring cut and were mainly soaked in the gravy. The texture wasn’t too bad for what it sounds, though. The braised short rib was the main player in the dish. It was very tender and you could tell they went all out. The cheese curds were classic poutine. I thought there wasn’t enough when looking at it, but was actually spot on (there were actually a few leftover at the end). The citrus crema was potent by itself to the taste, but once stirred in, a wonderful nuance. I am seriously considering it as first place, but the price tag was $20. It was a good value, though for sure! It was a large plate!! - Diner Style Smash Burger - $18: Also, I have been wanting to try their smash burger. Couldn’t resist. The smash burger patty was high quality and cooked right. The bacon was thick and tasty. The toppings were also higher quality and well balanced. The cheese was slightly on the lighter side, but worked in this case really well. I was really looking forward to the Nantucket bun, but the sesame seeds were a bit over done. The bun was good, though. - Service: We were allowed to choose our own seats. Some of the tables were not yet cleaned up, so it was a little slim pickings. The waitress was very positive, knowledgeable, and helpful. There was a mix-up about the poutine. We wanted gluten-free and it was not understood the first time, but it was noted and corrected BEFORE it was actually made. I wasn’t too excited to use the online menu, though. It worked for us since we already knew what we wanted. - Atmosphere: Darker industrial feel with wood accents. There was softer and quieter music in the background and it was a great quiet place to stop. We dined indoors, but there is outdoor dining out back or on the ROOF! - Conclusion: This place has a lot to offer! The exterior is a bit deceiving. It is amazing on the inside. It is clean and professional. The food is high quality and at a fair price. It is a little more expensive, but it is worth the price you pay. 6:30-7:30pm Thursday September 19, 2024.

One of my favorite restaurants. I love that they change up the menu regularly. And as a celiac, they are somewhere I feel super safe eating (and can actually have fries since they have dedicated fryers!). Their GF carrot cake is amazing and it's rare I order a dish that I don't love. Also very much love the rooftop dining in the summer.

Nice little place. Food was good but on the pricey side. We did get a generous portion though. Quiet, nice decor and clean. Definitely worth a visit, and don't hesitate to try the French Dip! Update 2023: Visited for brunch today and it was excellent! Both the Corned Beef Hash and Breakfast Burrito were delicious. The bottle of bubbles is reasonably priced as well.

The outdoor patio was impressively upscale and warm! We had a great time and were extremely happy with the food. Everything was spiced well and served beautifully. It’s definitely in a spot of GR I haven’t ventured much before, but may be the place that brings me over more regularly.

The food value was not equal to the price tag. For 2 people we spent just over $106 which included tip. I ordered the brisket and my girl ordered the steak. The brisket was mostly fat and the spices were pretty intense. We were offered a different bbq sauce which ended up costing $1 for a tablespoon or so of sauce. Her 12 oz New York Strip didn't look anything like the pictures online. It literally looked like a green mess. It was fairly tough with a bit of gristle. The desserts we're very good and the service was also very good. If not for those two things the restaurant would have received between 1 star. Disappointed.

We were drying the night in Grand Rapids and decided to give the Friesian a try. I made a reservation, though on the Tuesday evening we went, it was unnecessary. The decor was nice and the restaurant clean. Service was friendly and quick. We started with drinks and the Frites and Fondue, which I highly recommend. I mean how can you go wrong with a pile of truffle fries and melted cheese? I got the double smash burger with a side of vegan Mac and cheese, Maggie got the torchio bolognese. Now maybe it’s the west coast in me, but a good burger needs some aioli or sauce or something. This burger was by no means dry, but it lacked a little zip. Unfortunately, the vegan Mac and cheese lived up to its name and had virtually no flavor. We took it home to my sister in law who loves bland food and she enjoyed it. The torchio bolognese was on point. A large portion gave leftovers for tomorrow. All in all, I’d come back again. There’s a lot of menu to explore and the drinks were strong.

Malamiah Juice Bar & Eatery is a modern and clean establishment located in the Studio Park shopping plaza. While it closes early at 5pm due to reduced hours and staffing during the pandemic, it offers a nice place to relax and enjoy a meeting or light lunch. The cold brew is particularly impressive, and their acai bowls are highly recommended. Although there isn't much indoor dining space, the surrounding areas of Studio Park provide ample seating especially during warmer months.
It took them a little long to make a smoothie but the quality was good. They are only open until 5pm, which seemed unusually early. I mentioned it to the staff who said they had to cut back on hours and staffing during the pandemic , to save money.Wish it was open later at night. The building is clean and modern. Beware of the location GPS gives you. The place is part of Studio Park shopping plaza. The location makes it nice since you can relax in the plaza while you drink

Read the reviews so I decided to try out their Açaí bowl. Ordered the Peanut Butter Bowl because I love açaí and peanut butter. Problem was that there was no peanut butter in it, staff said that there was but I sure couldn’t taste any. Had a quarter of a banana cut up and some nuts on top, but mostly açaí, and some of that was frozen. Bottom line…definitely would not get it again, probably would not go again because that’s what I was interested in having, might be great for some other menu item.

I didn't see the location from the street as it is set back near court yard but easy to find and cute location. Juice bar and acai bowls. I got an acai bowl and it didn't disappoint.
Mardy C — Google review
Started off waiting 30 minutes to receive 2 açaí bowls, and there were 0 other customers. Presentation was great until I dug in and took a bite, this was the most plain tasting açaí bowl I have ever had. Was supposed to be a peanut butter bowl, but tasted absolutely no peanut butter. The açaí itself had absolutely no flavor. There was maybe a 1/4 banana and a little granola in it, but it was mostly just frozen chunks of açaí. We were both highly disappointed in our bowls and do not recommend, especially for their higher price point. Normally am stuffed from an açaí bowl, but definitely left hungry today!

I work downtown and have heard good things about this place so I decided to try it out. I ordered an 18oz Green Goddess with protein powder. I did tip but it was $13 for a cup full of nothing! There was zero taste, I’m not even sure the protein powder was added. I don’t think I care to try this place again but use your own judgement.

It’s always great to have a healthy option among the many meaty, greasy, delicious fare. No judgments! Before my “meal” of vegan gelato I had a wheatgrass shot. I’m not a fan of the taste usually but because it’s done such wonderful things for my health I love this medicine. But! This wheatgrass shit was actually delicious. Sweet and not too potent on the grassy side but potent in the way you know it should be. Thank you Malamiah!

This is a nice place to visit for a meeting or light lunch. I heard they had Cold Brew, and was very impressed by the taste and smoothness. There isn't a lot of inside space for dining, but a lot of areas around Studio Park, especially during the warmer months. This is definitely a nice "vibe".
Whitney D — Google review
I hate to give this place only two stars because it's the cutest spot in such a cute little area butttt the acai bowl we ordered was not flavorful at all. My husband and I love acai bowls so everytime we travel to a new place we find a spot that services acai bowls. We ordered the paradise bowl- as someone else stated in the reviews the acai base was of soup like consistency and lacking flavor as if they used water to blend it. I tasted no bananas, which typically gives the acai its sweetness. Then to "top it all off" our bowl had what appeared to be canned pineapples on top. Whatever the pineapples were they didn't look or taste like fresh pineapples. This bowl was in no way worth the $11 price tag.

Supermarket
The small grocery store Bridge Street Market has been doing well recently as they've been stocking more produce and a few new items, but they have run into some trouble with their vendor schedule which has resulted in product shortages.
Employees seemed friendly Store Is very clean SO MANY OPTIONS & fun brands! I love grocery stores and this one is definitely a favorite. The owner of Mama’s Makings chicken salad was inside stocking her items & sampling- very friendly and it was the tastiest/most flavorful chicken salad I’ve tried!

Although I have lived in Grand Rapids for over a decade now this was in fact my first experience with Bridge Street Market. It will not however be my last. I was in the neighborhood so I decided to take the initiative to visit for the very first time. Walking in the atmosphere was quite welcoming from the get go. With so many hidden treasures here there was so much to find and even enjoy. The checkout experience was also very quick.
Joel V — Google review
Love Bridge Street Market! Everything we need right down the street. Great service from their staff. Nice, safe grocery shopping. Very convenient for those of us who live in the area. Love their cafe and sub shop, the daily rotisserie chickens are really good too. They have an enormous selection of groceries, wine, liquor and beer, as well as specialty desserts and so much more! Regardless of what you're looking for, Bridge st Market has it. Great store!
Rob V — Google review
If you happen to happen upon the West Side of Grand Rapids you may notice just past the railroad tracks on Bridge Street a lovely marketplace known as the Bridge Street Market. This urban supermarket is a part of the revitalization project of Grand Rapids Western sector. It is a Meijer branded grocery store complete with a parking structure and a gas station. A very convenient location just west of the future Amway stadium and the Varnum Towers. If you are visiting Grand Rapids via the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel or the JW Marriott, or even the luxurious Courtyard Marriott, and are looking for a great healthy choice option. This will be a delightful experience for you and your party. Coffee, hot food options, beer, liquor and wine as well. You can't go wrong with this diamond gem of a location; well representing Meijer and the West Side of Grand Rapids. Enjoy! 😊
Dominic C — Google review
I love the store and location. The inside is filled with what I need. For the Westside there are very few options. I shop there almost every day and the staff are very nice and helpful. On the other hand the constant harassment from people asking for money or cigarettes outside in the area and parking garage is off the charts. For Bridge Street the Hendrick is a focal point for the future of that area. Garbage and outside appearance plus more security could be greatly improved.
Chris C — Google review
Just want to comment about the wall of liquor they have near the entrance. Never seen this type of shelves before in any type of grocery store. Each bottles are shinning under the overhead spotlight and telling you to buy them. This is a boutique Meijer so grocery choices are limited but they have everything you need to make lunch or dinner.
FriedChicken — Google review
Staff is super helpful (when you can find people, which isn't always). Common items often out of stock, somewhat limited selection, high prices. Some super high quality stuff that's hard to find elsewhere, though - this is more of a boutique market than a Meijer.
Conrad L — Google review
I typically don't get excited about grocery stores, but the quality and selection of food here was just awe inspiring. I want to move into the neighborhood just so I can go shopping here every week! Fresh produce and selection of Vegan food was the best I've ever seen.

Cocktail bar
SIDEBARGR is a classy and intimate bar in Grand Rapids that offers a selection of seasonal, handcrafted cocktails, as well as wine and beer. It is considered one of the area's first true cocktail bars, with a tiny basement setting that exudes intimacy and dedication to crafting exceptional drinks. The cozy 18-seat bar provides a warm atmosphere where the staff excels at creating delicious cocktails tailored to individual preferences. Additionally, between 4-6 p.m.
This place is excellent. The ambiance is quaint, charming and very romantic. The red lighting on the night we went was a nice touch. Wonderful, unique drinks. I had the Chad special. Also, shoutout Chad he had a great, off the cuff drink for me. If Chad is your bartender please compliment his shades they’re fire.

The best cocktail bar in GR ! The folks know their game and can make any drink you ask. Recently expanded their seating capacity which is great 👏🏽 Everyone is very passionate and makes great drinks !

Absolutely loved our experience at SidebarGR — hands down the best speakeasy in Grand Rapids! From the moment you step in, you’re transported to a cozy, classy hideaway that feels both exclusive and inviting. What really stood out was the bartending — not just the skill, but the passion. After hearing the bartender’s take on the Old Fashioned, I let him make it his way — and it might be one of the best I've had. Balanced, bold, and beautifully smooth. Two of my friends described what they were in the mood for, and the bartender crafted custom cocktails for each of them — both drinks were spot on and had them raving the rest of the night. If you’re in Grand Rapids and want a cocktail experience that goes beyond the ordinary, SidebarGR is a must. Expert mixology, great atmosphere, and personalized service that makes you feel like a regular — even on your first visit.

Definitely the premier cocktail bar in Grand Rapids. This bar transports you to a more simple time where the Speakeasy reigned supreme. It’s a cozy venue, where you may want to consider a max group size of 4 people unless you’re willing to split up. Every time I’ve visited, the staff has been friendly, knowledgeable, and has a great sense of humor. It’s very clear that this bar is a great startup for bartenders who want to create their own drinks, menus, and abstract cordials for cocktails and move up to other bars to hone their craft. No complaints there, it helps that the menu rotates with the seasons keeping things fresh. Yes it’s dark inside, yes it’s fairly loud when many people talk at once, yes it’s cozy, but none of that matters when you take the first sip of your drink. Not every drink is a 10/10, but among the menu you will find your 15/10, and have a great time with friends or the staff. Prices are well adjusted compared to other bars in Grand Rapids. NEVER be afraid to ask the Bartender to surprise you with a drink. Ask them for something off menu they’re working on perfecting, ask them to make their favorite drink, ask them for something funky and refreshing. They will deliver.

I rated this a bar a 5/5, I’d leave 10/10 if I could! The cocktails were so phenomenal, I couldt wrap my mind around it! I can be formally picky, but every single cocktail the bartenders made were phenomenal! They listened to my picky preferences, recommended drinks, and they were exactly what I could’ve never thought to ask for! Amazing bartenders! Thanks again for making experience better than I could’ve imagined here! Don’t be afraid to tell them any “picky” preferences! These bartenders know their stuff and can find something for anyone!
Samantha L — Google review
What a beautiful place to sit down and take a drink it is small but in a cozy way and the drinks are amazing and well thought out as well as the service is incredible we were taken care of almost immediately and checked in on frequently. I would absolutely recommend coming here for a sophisticated drink and relax area.
Sammi V — Google review
Sidebar is one of those places that always enhances the night. The drinks are always on point. Well crafted and delicious. Good luck trying to stump the bartenders. Their cocktail game is top notch. If you can dream it, they can make it type of atmosphere. Absolutely worth while to stop in and spend a little time here.
E B — Google review
Certainly a hidden gem! Recommended by the bartender at a similar location, when we got there it was immediately apparent this was the place to be. Small(ish), not overly crowded, cozy, perfect lighting - all around great atmosphere - bartenders made us feel welcomed and were most engaging. Menu features some very interesting cocktails - all delicious - watching Drew and Noah craft each cocktail was a treat in itself! Added to the top of our 'go to' list when visiting GR!
