Long Beach Lodge Resort is a high-end oceanfront property on Vancouver Island's wild and stunning west coast. It offers stylish rooms and cottages with splendid furnishings, including fireplaces and wood accents. The resort pays attention to customers' preferences, providing cozy sitting arrangements that create a homely feeling. Guests can enjoy beautiful views of the ocean waves or watch surfers in Cox Bay while reading a book by the window or in front of the massive fireplace.
What an absolutely incredible location right on the water with an entire beach out your door! Our room was in the main lodge building with an ocean view that made me want to stay forever. The room was generously sized and spotless. Bonus points for the fireplace that I’m sure is so cozy in the winter! I did find the price to be a little high, even with all that and considering it was the height of summer, but the Tofino area doesn’t exactly have vacancies so I suppose that’s why

Had a great stay at Long Beach Lodge. The pictures don’t do justice for how beautiful the view is from their Great Room. Right on the beach the sunsets are picturesque. The restaurant’s food feels inspired and unique while still offering classic tastes. Special shoutout to housekeeping as they were professional, quick and efficient! Everyone here felt so friendly and welcoming and made me feel like a part of the island family right away. Thanks to the staff at Long Beach Lodge Resort

Our 1st dinner in Tofino was at Long Beach Lodge Resort! The service and food was outstanding!!!! The young girl that waited on us was new and unfortunately we do not remember her name! She was very attentive and sweet! The sunset was impeccable and such a wonderful experience on our 1st night! Thank you so much for having US! Cheers! Also we have been watching your live cam of the beach for months now! We love it and so do our friends!

We had an incredible stay at Long Beach! From the moment we arrived, everything was set up for a perfect family vacation. My kids had the time of their lives on the beach – they couldn’t get enough of the sand and waves, and the resort made it so easy for us to relax while they played. The beach was clean, safe, and ideal for little ones to explore. As parents, we felt truly relaxed and rejuvenated. The resort's amenities made it effortless to unwind, and the atmosphere was so welcoming for families. It was the perfect balance of fun and relaxation, with something for everyone to enjoy. The entire experience exceeded our expectations, and we left with great memories.

This is one of the premier resorts in one of the most spectacular places on the planet. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and professional. The great room is a spectacular place to sit and have a beautiful cocktail and appetizers while overlooking one of the most beautiful views on the planet.

I spent ($1600 for 2 night stay) an incredible amount of money for a very dark and dingy room, said Forest view when it was a couple of trees and mostly looked at heat pump and a couple of plants. It was so dark I had to have lights on all the time there were only lamps in the room, one very small overhead light, it was the middle of summer, and I can’t imagine what it would be like in the winter there!! I could hardly see a thing in the room with all the lights on it was so dark and dingy!! It was also pretty outdated for that price. I was given this room because I did have a pet and they had no other pet rooms available. There was such tiny windows to open.- Hot and stuffy you couldn’t even get air into the room. There was no air-conditioning, long weekend in August.. It is a great location, and I’m sure the other rooms Are perhaps better but this was terrible!! I felt like I was down in a dungeon. It was an incredible amount of money for such a crappy room!! Also the parking lot is awful- hardly any room in between cars to open your door, there’s nowhere to park to take your luggage out no help whatsoever- I’m surprised that people haven’t had their car doors banged from other car doors, also the way you enter the parking lot I almost got hit. It’s a very sharp corner into the parking lot.-

Cozy rooms, super quiet, amazing dining great room, good location, BUT the staff are just brutally disrespectful and inconsiderate. When you're paying >$500 per night, this is a minimum expectation. I implore you to either camp, stay at Zed, or go ultra premium and stay at Wick. A few examples: - When we were checking in, two attendants were at the front desk when we pulled up, we were taking out our luggage bags and not one person helped us, even with the door. They were just sitting there. - I wanted to surf Sunday morning, because it was only not windy in the morning, so I asked if I could rent a board the night before and the manager said "We're not a 24 hour service." I asked if she knew somewhere that was, and she said "I don't know, Google it." - Every order we got at breakfast was wrong and they didn't adjust the bill at all. Literally every one, from me ordering a green tea and getting black to ordering a bowl with salmon and receiving an omelette. - When we were checking out in the morning, my girlfriend said good morning to the attendants as we dragged our luggage out to the car. Not only did they completely ignore her, but they again didn't help with the door, with luggage, any of that. We are kind people. I'd like to think we're great guests, but this is just brutal.

The location of the resort can't be beat—nestled right on Cox Bay, it offers stunning ocean views and direct beach access. The on-site dining is a treat, especially with seaside views from the Great Room and SandBar Bistro. Whether you're here for adventure or relaxation, Long Beach Lodge delivers a memorable West Coast experience.

Nestled in an upscale oceanfront setting, Brentwood Bay Resort & Spa offers over 30 beautifully designed Ocean Suites and Villas with breathtaking views of the ocean. The accommodations feature luxurious amenities such as king-sized beds, gas fireplaces, and spa-like bathrooms. Guests can enjoy delicious dining options at the classy restaurant or casual pub while being treated to live music and impeccable service.
My partner and I came here for vacation and loved it! This was one of the highlights of our vacation on the island. We upgraded our room with the hot tub and ordered room service. The view and atmosphere was phenomenal. The room was very clean and we would love to stay again. It was very pricey to stay here but enjoyed our time.

We really liked the resort itself, the rooms, the pool area, the bar and the restaurant. The location is great too, far enough out of town/Victoria but not too far. Our only issue was with the staff, they weren’t very friendly for the most part and everything took long. I’d still recommend it because not all staff members seemed to hate their jobs.
Shaun L — Google review
We just flew from Alberta for a weekend at Brentwood Bay and unfortunately left disappointed with several things. I will say the positives were the front desk staff who were polite and helpful. And a bar director who greeted us with lots of knowledge and information about the area and the new dinner menu that happened to change while we were there. We had to change rooms the second day because of lack of availability. Somewhere during the change I had purchased a brand new sweater from lululemon which still had tags that mysteriously went missing. Immediately upon checking into our new room I called the front desk and it was nowhere to be seen. I did not wear the item, nor did I take it anywhere and thus knew it was missing. Possibly I could have left it outside the suitcase while we were packing up our room, but it would have then been found. When I talked to a manager she was quite certain it was my own mistake and almost dismissive regarding my concerns. Furthermore, I had contacted the front desk before we arrived and asked about the amenities on site as we were between this property and another. We were advised there would be an on-site bar down at the pool where we could order food and drinks which was closed when we arrived. Part of the reason we flew to Victoria was we wanted to have a relaxing pool/spa day so that wasn’t ideal. Lastly, the restaurant left a lot to be desired. The first night the wagu entree we had was completely cold and they were out of one or two appetizers on the list of 6. The second night when the menu changed there seemed to be a couple more options to choose from so we were excited, one of which we ordered was the halibut and it was incredibly dry. The other was the beef checks which left a lot to be desired. I understand that one or two of these things may not be the end of the world, but all together not exactly the experience you would expect from a place advertising as 5 stars with the price tag to match. I wish the manager had been a little more thoughtful or even took the time to listen to what else had occurred during our stay as opposed to just shutting me down. I never leave negative reviews of properties but this left a bad taste in my mouth. I would suggest looking at Oak Bay spa resort for those interested in a relaxing getaway in the Victoria area.
Cara K — Google review
The pros are: the location and quiet surroundings. Lovely view of the bay was a plus. The cons are: the website states the "iron" the sheets on the bed. Not only was this not what we found on the bed in our room, but the duvet cover was either dirty or gray from being old. This was a gross finding for us. The washroom had a very large soaking tub. It took up so much room that the separate shower was on the small side. You had to maneuver around the door to get in and out of it of the water closet area. It seems that when I consider the pros and cons, the nightly cost was pricey for what you get.
K G — Google review
I just had the squash salad at the resort ... it tasted good, but the portion was tiny. As someone who’s owned a restaurant, I know that salad probably costs a few cents to make. Quick literally squash and kale with a splash of cranberries.... For $16, at least make it a proper meal ... It was 3 inches across. throw in some nice goat cheese or something. Nice presentation. Nice taste. For my bill I am walking away disappointed.

My husband and I just celebrated our one year anniversary at Brentwood Bay in the Arbutus room. We got married at Brentwood. We had Thomas as our server, and he was wonderful. He was the one who booked our reservation originally (we had requested the area where we said our "i do's"). He remembered us, and brought out two glasses of champagne on the house for us. Food was delicious (but very pricey for small amounts). My husband was still quite hungry once we left(after a $180 bill). We've agreed Brentwood is a once a year treat, as we can't afford that every day of the week. If your looking for a high end meal, with a lovely view, Brentwood is your place to go.

We stayed for a night to celebrate a birthday, I wish we had stayed two nights ! Everything about our stay was amazing! The view from the room, the jetted tub in the room, the pool & hot tub ! Dinner at the pub was fantastic! Can’t wait to go back again .

I recently had a celebration with 12 guests at the Arbutus Room. The restaurant Manager Adriana ensured that everything was perfect for the event. From the moment we contacted him weeks before the event right through to the follow up afterwards Adriana exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend the Arbutus Room at the Brentwood Resort to anyone booking a special occasion. The patio is stunning, the food is exceptional and the service is next level. Thank you to Adriana and his staff for making our evening so special. All of our guests raved about the evening.

The Wickaninnish Inn, a renowned lodge in Tofino, has been providing a luxurious coastal wilderness experience since 1996. The 72 elegant accommodations offer various options, from cozy standard rooms with fireplaces and private balconies showcasing breathtaking ocean views to larger suites with extra living space and bigger balconies. Its magnificent location on Vancouver Island's rugged west coast is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on three sides and backed by an ancient forest.
This hotel is beyond awesome in every way. Location- our view from our room is exceptional plus we can hear the waves rolling in. Service- every single person offers help and greets you with a most authentic smile… I mean so genuine! The bar had top notch drinks- (try Thy Neighbor) and a wicked meat charcuterie platter. Our bed and pillows were the most comfortable I have ever experienced at a hotel. We’ve stayed at modest and high end hotels, and The Wickinnish Inn is actually a good value, IMHO. I highly recommend it- oh and we stayed 6 nights and loved every single minute!! You could walk up and down their beach day and night.
Annabel B — Google review
Location - I would struggle to put it into words but hopefully the pictures can do some justice. The sunset was from our bedroom. A little wilderness paradise. Service - unparalleled, the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in, they have thought of everything and the turn down service was wonderful. The staff genuinely enjoy working there and were so pleasant and helpful on every occasion. Amenities - stunning lounge, great gym, beautiful library with incredible signed letter from George III. Food - really wonderful food options for breakfast/brunch which was incredibly tasty, thoughtful and well cooked locally sourced ingredients. Forestis in the Dolomites probably still comes out slightly ahead for us but the Wick is giving it a very close run for its money, which is saying something! Congratulations to all the staff and owners on such a great facility.

Incredible. 4 nights with friends in The Pointe Building. Rooms large, ours with 2 chairs and gas fireplace. Nice amenities. Bathroom very nice and well appointed. Service fabulous from the moment you arrive til you drive away. Food excellent. Loved every minute. You can walk out the door and go for a walk in the woods and on the beach without getting in your car. We plan on returning.
Alex G — Google review
A visit to the Wick was on my bucket list. I had very high expectations. The location, service, food, and the atmosphere were well beyond all of my expectations. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss. Thank you to all the staff for making my birthday the best one ever.
Arlene P — Google review
Celebrated our Honeymoon here in the Fall of 2024. It was incredible. The views, the beach, the service. We had dinner at the Pointe which was great. Massages at the spa. All of it was wonderful. The staff is great. Easy to get to town and do all the activities there too. Staff is helpful in scheduling whatever you want. Will be back at some point to celebrate again.

Our stay at the Wickaninnish Inn was unforgettable. From the reviews and photos, we knew it would be special, but being immersed in the beauty of the Pacific West Coast exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Beachcomber Suite, and it was an absolute dream. From the shower and bed, we had a direct view of the forest and beach. At night, we left the balcony door slightly open to fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. We enjoyed nightly games of backgammon in the library. Accompanied by soft music and a fire that radiated from the lobby, it set the perfect mood to relax in the evenings. A heartfelt thank you to Tovah at The Pointe Restaurant for her exceptional service and generosity—she is a true gem! We have never encountered such a high level of professionalism in the service industry. We would also like to thank Kennedy at the front desk, Zyna at Driftwood Café, and Rose from The Pointe, who served us breakfast daily. Each of them stood out for their warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine kindness. The staff went above and beyond to make our visit extraordinary. Leaving the resort and the magnificent natural surroundings was not easy. The memories we created here have left a mark on our hearts forever.

This was beyond our expectations. The view, the rooms, the dining. First off the view from the lobby and hot tubs/pool is unforgettable. The dining at Currents was fantastic with delicious seafood. The rooms had amazing showers, a big bathtub, fireplace, cozy seating in front of a huge bay window. 15 minite walk into town and close to the lighthouse hike/walk

Absolutely blown away with this resort. We all said it was hands down the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. We had an unbelievable ocean view in a studio room and it really made the experience that much better. Don’t get me started on the huge bathtub and the rain shower - amazing! We had a short walk to the beach and we loved the hot tub and pool. Great location, helpful staff and all around amazing place. We will absolutely be back. Already can’t wait to visit again. I will rave about our stay forever.

Gorgeous room, gorgeous location. Black Rock was the perfect place to spend a week. We couldn't get enough of the view. The living room, bedroom, and bathroom were tastefully decorated and furnished, with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The kitchen was well equipped and even had salt and pepper mills. This is definitely one of the most memorable places we've ever stayed at. Highly recommend.

We had the most amazing time here. We stayed in a studio trail with an ocean view and were blown away by the view! The balance of modern accomodation and proximity to nature was perfect. Other features we loved were hot tub/bath tub with a view of the ocean, the restaurant and the location of the resort. It's near to hikes and beaches and a whimsical path to walk to town. Highly recommend, and already looking forward to returning ourselves!

A nice hotel / resort in Ucluelet... We stayed there for a few days and liked it. It's a great place to explore the area, do some hiking and storm watching and just relax and unwind a bit... Plus, it's just a short drive up to Tofino. There are two restaurants and a spa on-site. Our suite was nice too and had everything we needed. Especially loved the fireplace....

Wonderful views from a beautifully equipped, self contained apartment in a spectacular setting. Huge, comfortable bed, cosy underfloor heated spacious bathroom. Great options with both bar cafe and full dining restaurant not to mention the spa, pool and gym. Really lovely quality establishment with very pleasant staff, service and great value for money.

Stayed for our one year wedding anniversary, and they made us feel so special! There was a little gift and note in our room congratulating us, and our waiter at the restaurant made a special point of brining us champagne on the house. The healing caves were such an amazing experience as well! Such a lovely coastal escape!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A truly unforgettable and heart-filled stay at the Kingfisher Resort & Spa! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed at the front desk by the loveliest team. Thomas and Kim were both incredibly kind, helpful, and genuine — their warmth immediately made us feel at home and set the tone for our entire experience. Our room was stunning — beautifully designed, spotless, and offering a peaceful view of the water. Huge kudos to the housekeeping team for their care and attention to detail; the room felt fresh, serene, and full of comfort. At the spa, I had massages with Payge and Maria, and they were absolutely phenomenal — gifted, intuitive, and deeply nurturing. My partner was treated by Claribel, who was an absolute powerhouse — strong, skilled, and incredibly caring. Each of them brought a unique healing touch that left us feeling renewed and balanced. The spa desk staff were equally amazing — warm, attentive, and professional. A special mention to Bonny, whose music curation throughout the spa was outstanding. His selections created the perfect atmosphere of peace and flow — we noticed and appreciated the artistry behind it! The Hydropath experience was another highlight — relaxing, unique, and magical. Special thanks to Sarah, who guided us through the experience with such grace and kindness. The fitness facilities were excellent — well-stocked, clean, and thoughtfully arranged. A heartfelt thank-you to the two maintenance attendants who kindly helped us light the fireplace in the gym — such a lovely gesture that made the space extra cozy. The dining experience was equally memorable. Courtney, our breakfast server, deserves enormous praise — she radiated joy and genuine care, attentive to every detail, even going out of her way to split our plates so we could share dishes. Her energy and kindness truly made our mornings special. Christina, our dinner server, was just as wonderful — thoughtful, gracious, and attentive throughout. The food at the restaurant was exceptional: fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. Overall, our time at the Kingfisher was nothing short of extraordinary — restorative, heart-warming, and filled with care. Every single staff member we met contributed to making this stay deeply memorable. We left feeling nourished, relaxed, and grateful — and we can’t wait to return.

After driving past this resort for 9 years we decided to stop in for lunch. The place has a good reputation with locals so we had high expectations. The restaurant- AQUA Bistro, I believe- has a gorgeous patio setting. But otherwise, nothing special to offer. Certainly doesn’t live up to the hype. The brunch menu was very limited. Mostly expensive pub food. Service started off okay but we had to flag down the server for our bill after a long wait. Despite living in the area, we don’t expect to return.

Just had a one night stay, couples massage and dinner at Ocean 7. Location is great. Staff are very nice. Had my first ever 1 hour massage with Rika. I was so relaxed I fell asleep for a bit. She was great. Wife and I were both happy. Went for dinner. Had reserved a table at the window when booking but all gone when we arrived. One thing that bothered me, that I have to mention is. When booking, I was asked if we had any food allergies and I mentioned my wife's lactose intolerance. She assured me we could be looked after. I was excited to hear that as some of the items on the dinner menu had cream. Of course, as usual, after asking the lovely waitress if we could get the cream sauce lactose free. We were told they couldn't do that but the tomato sauce version was available. I will say the scallops were perfect, the cerviche was amazing, the rack of lamb I had was small but perfectly cooked and the sauce really tasty. The wife loves truffles and knew she ordered the wrong dish getting the risotto. She lived in Tuscany for 20 years where she had and made real truffle risotto. Unfortunately 1 of the 5 items we ordered was forgotten, but it happens. Overall a nice dinner, north of $400 with 2 bottles of wine. My problem is, WHY in this day and age with so many people being lactose intolerant, don't decent kitchens cook with lactose free cream? It opens up the menu to more people, it lasts longer and there is zero difference in flavour Don't make a point of asking if you don't really do anything about it. On a funny note. The bed had some noisy springs on her side. After saying all this we would go back if we were over there. Nice property.

A lovely day at the SPA and resteraunt for our Anniversary Oct 31. We thoroughly enjoyed the hydropath and mcouples massage. The food was delicious and it was nice to have the credit from the package we bought. Will go again..

My daughter and I came for facials. We had booked 60 minute ones and were told to be at the desk a few minutes before 2 pm (appointment time) we waited a few more minutes and were then taken to a lounge area, offered tea or water and given a clip board to fill out our address, email, birthdate plus many health questions. By the time the facial started it was 2:15. Then after a few applications of products, my esthetician checked my skin then left for at least 5 minutes to go downstairs to gather products suited to my skin type. The facial itself was lovely but about 20 minutes short of the one hour I paid for. I feel if you are requesting paperwork be filled out ahead then we should be asked to come 15 minutes earlier to fill out the form. And the products should be available in the treatment room. The treatments are expensive enough, I fill we were cheated of treatment time. Both my daughter and I were finished at the same time, 3:00.

Creative, beautiful garden with firepits throughout. Amazing rooms. Relaxing expansive spa and pool area. The best restaurant I've been to in a long time. We will become regulars. The best retreat.
Gary P — Google review
Lights out 11/10. Will return annually now in off season. Enjoyed the full experience and everything was perfect. The room, view, spa, restaurants, pool, hot tub, saunas and fire “pits”. Can’t wait to go back. The value for price is unbeatable (granted, off season pricing). Leave feeling completely satisfied. Even the coffee in the room is delicious and plentiful - It’s the little things.

Perched atop the Malahat Summit on Vancouver Island, Villa Eyrie Resort offers chic rooms and suites with stunning views of the Saanich Inlet. This serene retreat provides a range of activities including fishing, canoeing, and golfing. The resort's location allows guests to enjoy breathtaking natural wonders such as Mount Baker and Olympic Mountains while sipping on a cup of coffee.
We chose to stay local for our 3rd year anniversary and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Villa Eyrie Resort was amazing in every aspect of our stay. We booked a one night stay at the Villa Cielo jr penthouse, what a treat! The views were surreal and the soaker tub overlooking the Finlayson Arm was just a bonus. We also booked our dinner at Alpina restaurant. Molly, our server, was wonderful. We recommend getting the table side service for tiramisu, so yummy. We went here for brunch for mother’s day and we will keep coming back.

The Villa Eyrie is one of the most beautiful resorts, that I've had the pleasure of staying at. All the staff helped make our stay welcoming and relaxing. I want to send a special thanks to Samantha Johnson, who went above and beyond. The dining, the wine, the room - everything was absolutely perfect! We will be back, and highly recommend if you are looking spectacular!

Beautiful views and great food. Dined here for the first time..food was exceptional..service was great. I had beet salad..mushroom ravioli with scallops..probably the yummiest food I’ve had after a long time. I highly recommend. The freshly baked bread was delicious. I took one star off..due to floor/carpet around our dining table had food particles from lunch service. Front entrance washroom needed cleaning badly. These minor details can be easily fixed. Thanks for a great food experience..I will be back. ❤️🙏🏽🌷

Unbeatable views, tasty eats, there was a Happy hour drink menu i found online that didn't exist and no one gave me a reason it was still up, also found many references online about a pool that doesn't exist. Also had two extremely large and fast spiders running around my room. Ordered a ceaser salad and was asked if I wanted a little chicken added, salad was $17, chicken was $18. Service and host people were great, room was nice and clean the the jet tub is always the high light when we stayed here. I brought many of these issues up and they said they would look into them. Overall a good time tho.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure to stay at Villa Erie. The room was beautiful, very clean and well furnished. It's a very quiet remote serene atmosphere. The staff were great. We unfortunately had to wait for room service over an hour (mistakenly) but the staff made up for it by compying us a couple meals. The room had great views of the ocean and mountains. We will definitely be back.

Decided to stay at the Villa Eyrie for my second time this past month and once again left feeling satisfied and relaxed! My room was clean and comfortable with a spectacular view of the inlet and mountains! The restaurant they have in the main building has a very unique, European inspired menu with tons of great options to choose from. I hope to have the pleasure of staying here once again in the future!

You'll be charged additional taxes up to 50$ extra or more on top of the price you see. Don't eat at the restaurant! Ok hotel. Clean. Way overpriced for what it offers. The experience was ok. Beware there is no elevator to access higher floors. Good luck with heavy luggages. Jacuzzi in the room is really cool. The restaurant is abominous! But that's probably to be expected from north American chefs. Seems like the fancier you go the more oily over cooked and over buttery is the food. You pay big cash to be poisoned. Probably because no one eats there the food doesn't stay fresh and the cooking style is to make up for this.

My husband and I just spent 5 wonderful days at Villa Eyrie Resort. The room was amazing and the staff was very attentive and accommodating! I had a great manicure with Maddie (she was sweet and talked when I wanted to talk). She did a great job on my nails. We would highly recommend this resort! The food was outstanding at the Alpine Restaurant! Try the peach vanilla jam on the artisan toast at breakfast! Sooo good! We can’t wait to go back!

The Fairmont Empress, a historic chateau-style hotel built in 1908, offers upscale rooms, a spa, and an indoor pool. It's the perfect place for a romantic getaway with special Valentine's Day menus at Q at the Empress. The hotel overlooks Victoria's Inner Harbour and has been recognized as one of the best Canadian hotels by Travel + Leisure.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The hotel beauty and location were wonderful but the staff truly made it a 5 star vacation. Notably: *Jennifer at the concierge desk was knowledgeable and helpful. *Ramona, our server at The Q for dinner was amazing! Her vibrant personality and willingness to share her knowledge of the menu and local scene made our day! *Andrea, our server at the Q lounge was a gem! She went above and beyond to take care of us. *Our room attendants for our multi-day stay were ALL spectacular-the “extra” touches were lovely and very much appreciated. *The lead doorman (sorry to not get his name) is a great first impression for your hotel, we loved our daily interaction with him.

Planned a 3-day meeting for 42 people at the Empress. The staff were all very knowledgeable and helpful. They made certain that every detail was looked after. The Rattenbury Room was comfortable and spacious. The catering was first class and the staff very attentive. The guest rooms very comfortable and well appointed. I could not be more satisfied with the whole experience. I highly recommend the Fairmont Empress Hotel.

Our stay at the Fairmont Empress was absolutely incredible! Such a beautiful harbor view to look out and see each morning. The gold lounge is astounding! The food was delicious! The customer service was impeccable! High tea was delightful! A trip of a lifetime!

The hotel is beautiful! I stayed for a work trip, everyone was very helpful, and pleasant to talk with. The rooms were very clean, and comfortable. It was a bit of a maze looking for my room, and the conference rooms, which added a bit of fun mystery to the trip The only minor downside for me was the shower door. It only covers half the shower, and I had difficulties with water spilling onto the floor through the gap between the shower door, and the rest of the shower. Given the chance, I would stay again.

I booked a two-night stay at the Fairmont Empress through American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts and was very disappointed. At check-in I was told no upgrades were available, but later found out directly from the hotel that multiple upgraded rooms were open. This felt dishonest and set the tone for the rest of the stay. Despite calling ahead twice to confirm a crib, none was in the room when we arrived, and when it finally came it had no sheets. The bathroom was outdated and poorly maintained (peeling caulking, low water pressure, even a spider). Basic items like lotion were empty on arrival. Attempts from management to “make it right” came too late into the stay and were not handled in a thoughtful way. For a hotel of this reputation and price point, the service and condition of the room were far below expectations. The one bright spot was Manraj at breakfast, who was kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, the overall experience left me feeling misled and let down, and I cannot recommend the Fairmont Empress. O btw - I'm brown skinned and never asked if I was here for a special occasion - which I was (two birthdays and one extra special as my child's first). The couple to the left of us - white - they were asked.

Superb location, friendly staff, and great amenities all around. A luxurious experience in a majestic setting. A great mix of history and modern atmospheres. Clean and well appointed designs throughout the hotel. Especially appreciated the landscaping with the unique plants and flowers. Great proximity to Beacon Hill Park.

The Fairmont Empress is iconic. It’s a piece of Victorian history, and a luxury accommodation that’s worth every penny. We stayed on the Gold level with our family and we all LOVED it! The pool was perfect for us, the high tea was exactly as I had hoped it would be, the rooms were perfect, as was the hospitality. I am so grateful for the experience we had.
Dylan B — Google review
Our two-night stay at the Fairmont Empress in Victoria was an absolute delight, combining exceptional service, comfort, and an unbeatable location. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided superior service, greeting us warmly, handling check-in with ease, and making our time in the Gold Lounge truly relaxing with their attentive care. The plush bedding in our room was incredibly cozy, ensuring restful sleep each night. The hotel’s prime location in Victoria’s Inner Harbour made exploring the city a breeze, with attractions like the Royal BC Museum, Beacon Hill Park, and fantastic restaurants just steps away. A special thanks to Guy, who made our afternoon tea experience the best ever with his charm, knowledge, and impeccable service—truly a highlight of our trip! We can’t wait to return to the Fairmont Empress for another memorable stay.

Resort hotel
The Inn at Laurel Point is a modern waterfront property offering comfortable accommodations and convenient access to popular attractions in Victoria's scenic Inner Harbour. The eco-certified 4-star inn features 196 rooms with premium bedding, air conditioning, and free WiFi. Guests can enjoy amenities such as an indoor pool, Japanese-inspired garden, and waterside dining at the Aura restaurant. Additionally, the inn provides access to Union Club facilities including a fitness center and rooftop terrace.
The rooms with terraces overlooking the Inner Harbour in the newer wing are absolutely spectacular—worth every penny. Waking up to those views feels like a luxury in itself. We ordered breakfast during our stay, and it was excellent: a generous serving of fresh fruit, perfectly prepared eggs Benedict, and, of course, that stunning harbour view to top it all off. Laurel Point is also perfectly located—close enough to downtown Victoria to walk to shops, restaurants, and attractions, but tucked just far enough away to feel peaceful and serene. The waterfront setting is ideal for a morning stroll, and the sense of calm around the property makes it feel like a little oasis in the city. If you’re looking for comfort, great service, and some of the best views in Victoria, Laurel Point is a fantastic choice.

A Perfect Engagement at the Laurel Point Inn***** This month, I pulled off a local staycation engagement at the Inn at Laurel Point, and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to make it happen. From the very first contact, the level of service and attentiveness from their entire team was outstanding. A few names deserve special mention — Janus Liu and Oscar Zamora, along with the rest of the front office staff. Janus went above and beyond to show me the room and help plan every detail of how we could pull off an engagement surprise in their Japanese Garden. He walked me through several proposal options within the resort, coordinated logistics, and even helped arrange floral support to make sure the arches and flowers I brought in looked perfect. We stayed in the Erickson Wing Dream Suite, which was absolutely stunning — spacious, beautifully designed, with a breathtaking balcony view and an incredible jacuzzi tub. Oscar played a huge role in helping set up the camera and ensuring the execution of the proposal went seamlessly. Everyone at the Inn — from the front desk to the bellmen — carried such positive, genuine energy. You could tell the staff was genuinely excited to help make the moment special. As a local business owner who’s been in the service industry my entire life, I can confidently say this was a five-star experience from start to finish. The Laurel Point team made what could have been a stressful plan feel effortless, and they helped turn a dream into reality. Highly recommend for anyone looking to celebrate something meaningful — or just enjoy one of Victoria’s most beautiful getaways.

The location of the property is excellent. So close to walking paths, parks, ferry/water taxis, and the grounds of the legislature. Countless things to see ! The hotel itself is very quiet, spacious hallways let alone the size of the rooms. Patio decks are large considering most places barely accommodate 2 chairs. We spent a lot of mornings having coffee on the deck watching the ferry come in and each evening having cocktails on the same deck watching the whale watcher boats come in, the sea planes landing and the sun set.
JJ S — Google review
Extremely luxurious hotel at an affordable price. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. The beds are fantastic. This hotel is very conveniently located to downtown and the ferry lines. We booked through Black Ball lines and got a great deal.

Do not overlook this gem. Being on the Harbour gives you an ideal spot for a beautiful sunset and plenty of walking paths. The grounds of this hotel are beautiful and tranquil. The food is excellent and well as the service. Staff are so friendly with greetings and help if you need it. It's like being at a home away from home.

We are repeat visitors to The Inn at Laurel Point. We’ve stayed in both wings, and enjoyed the fabulous views of the Inner Harbour with every stay. The rooms have always been clean, quiet, comfortable, and well appointed. The restaurant and bistro are excellent. Importantly, the staff have been exemplary in their efforts to accommodate us, including a difficult time when we needed to unexpectedly extend our stay. They were fantastic, and deserve special mention for excellent service.
Yolande L — Google review
One of our best stays. Loved everything about this place. Location is awesome in the middle of everything. Views abound. Loved watching all the activity in the Harbour. From sea planes to small and large boats and yachts. Very quite. Except maybe for the occasional seagull or seaplane but not an issue after dark. Nice decks. Great restaurant in the hotel. Also a coffee and pastry place was good. And there is a nice waterfall on the grounds and be sure to check out the kitchen garden and pull up the qr code

We loved this place. The room was slightly dated but very clean and comfortable, with a nice view of the harbour. The location is excellent, not right in the busy city centre but an easy walk to get there. Both the food and the service at the restaurant were fantastic. We will stay here again without hesitation.

Pacific Sands Beach Resort is a beachfront all-suite hotel that offers stunning ocean views and beach houses. It is situated on Cox Bay, adjacent to Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, and is just a short drive from Long Beach and Tofino's seaside village center. The resort provides family-friendly accommodations ranging from studios to three-bedroom Beach Houses, all equipped with fully-equipped kitchens and cozy fireplaces. Guests can enjoy beachside dining as well as access to a seasonal kids' club.
Pacific Sand Resort is a beautiful place to stay, with oceanfront suites that offer stunning views. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. We loved that they have lots of board games and DVDs to enjoy during downtime. A nice touch is the free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available at the front desk anytime. The only downside was the long table dinner we booked — given the setup and vibe, we expected individual servings, but almost all dishes came on shared plates for six. That said, the wines were excellent and definitely a highlight. Overall, it was still a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Nikoo H — Google review
We booked 4 days at the Pacific Sands Resort in Tofino for our 40th wedding anniversary in September 2025 and it was the perfect place to celebrate it. We had one of the ocean view rooms and would sit out on the deck with our coffees every morning, and sometimes after the days activity, watching the surfers and the waves roll in, or if the tide was out watching the birds or people walking along the gorgeous stretch of beach. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, the suite was very well equipped with a kitchenette and lovely sitting area with a fireplace, and the food from the take out restaurants was always excellent. We were at first surprised that there wasn't an indoor restaurant at a high end resort like this, but soon discovered that taking your food and sitting by one of the several fire pits along the beach front was a wonderful, very private experience, and there are many terrific indoor dining experiences in Tofino itself which is a 10 mintue drive away. We had our anniversay dinner at Shelter Restaurant in Tofino, right on the water with excellent food and service. There are numerous tour companies out of Tofino for whale watching, rain forrest hiking, trips to natural hot springs, kayaking and many hikes that are very clearly marked that you can take yourself. We did all those activities and each one was great. Shout out to Paddle West Kayaking and Aquatic Safaris for whale watching and a trip to natural hot springs We would highly recommend Pacific Sands Resort and Tofino itself as a great destination!

This is a beautiful resort with a great range of accommodation. It was a great spot for storm watching and just enjoying the beauty of the private beach and its surrounds. Our room was very clean, with a comfortable bed linens. The view from our suite was great, and it was a small happiness to wake up in the morning and watch the surfers while I drank a coffee. However, the on-site food services left something to be desired. The quality of the food and beverages were average at best and considerably expensive. It was hit and miss with service at the cafe. One worker was particularly rude to every customer, the other was the most lovely young woman. With that said most of the accommodation had kitchens with all the modern amenities, so take advantage of those and cook yoir own meals and enjoy them on yoir own deck or many community tables and chairs overlooking the beach. All in all we enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back again in the near future.
Jase V — Google review
I was Instagram influenced and it was true to every picture— actually even better. 10/10 recommend. Great location, great beach, excellent room and service and onsite surf and bike rentals plus sauna and spa options. The on site food options were casual but very good. it is dog friendly and there are a lot of them so if you don’t like dogs that may be an issue.
Kara T — Google review
This was our second trip to Tofino, first stay at Pacific Sands and our stay was amazing. The resort was clean, friendly staff and super clean rooms that had everything you need. They also have doggie bowls, blankets and towels which was amazing. One less thing to pack on our next trip to Pacific Sands

Stayed at the Lighthouse Suites with Ocean Views to enjoy the storm watching season at Tofino and it did not disappoint ❤️✨️ From sunrise to sundown, the the views offer everything from storms to picturesque horizons. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, and equipped with most things you need. The onsite grocery store has the essentials and the Beach shack as well as the Surfside grill had halal-friendly options such as vegetarian and seafood. The room comes with a cosy fireplace, fun amenities, comfortable bedding and an equally comfortable couch with the ocean views ❤️ Coastal Rides is the app for getting a ride around. Tofino Delivery is the app for getting food to you from around town. Both include the Pacific Sands property in their service. I also used Pacific Rim Navigators for service to and from the long beach ariport. Guest services at pacific sands is only a text away and super responsive. Although nothing compares to the roaring ocean views at Cox Bay, my favourite part of the stay was the trail to Pettinger point. Especially when it rained, it felt like walking through a magical tropical forest. From check in to check out, the process was smooth. Service support for everyday cleaning was great. The only downside was that there were often silverfish and a couple of other bugs in the kitchen and washroom and it makes the floor require more cleaning. Super glad I chose pacific sands and will be back again!

We loved our time at the resort. While here, I had a facial from Lisa of “Tranquil Moments Theraputics” and the experience was next level. From the incredible atmosphere she has created in her salon suite to her personable and compassionate treatment style, I had a wonderful and relaxing time. So deeply relaxing, in fact, that I fell asleep!! My skin felt amazing when she was done. Thank you, Crown Isle, for providing this kind of service, and make sure you hang on to this girl. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hands-down the BEST massage I’ve ever had! From the moment you walk through the doors at Tranquil Moments Therapeutics inside Crown Isle Resort, you're transported into a state of pure relaxation. Lisa has created the most peaceful, welcoming atmosphere, and her calming energy instantly puts you at ease. I’ve had a lot of massages in the past, but nothing compares to this one. Lisa’s intuitive touch, attention to detail, and the genuine care she pours into her work truly sets her apart. You can tell how passionate she is about what she does — and yet she remains incredibly professional, grounded, and respectful throughout the entire experience. She made me feel completely comfortable and safe, and I left feeling like a new person — relaxed, recharged, and so deeply cared for. I can’t recommend her enough. If you’re considering booking a session with Lisa… do it. Your body, mind, and soul will thank you later. 💆‍♀️✨

Beautiful space, view, balcony overlooking 1st hole. We stayed in the Edinburgh Villa. Staff were friendly and helpful, laundry facilities right down the hall. Would recommend anyone stay here, just a peaceful place to be with a little bit of golfer party vibe in the evening 😉

A round of golf in one of the area's premier courses. It didn't dissapoint. I'm here in early October and the round with a push cart was $109.00. Certainly a good deal for a resort couse. Great proshop facilities. It was a beautiful day so I was a little dissapointed the patio wasn't open for a lunch after golf, but I guess ya can't have anything. Great course, like to play it again to replay a few shots.
Cameron W — Google review
Visited the golf course for the first time. Such a beautiful resort and offers an enjoyable round. Next time I will have to stay and get in a couple of rounds. A challenging but enjoyable track to play. There are some excellent views of mountains that are strategically placed on some tee boxes and landing areas. The pro shop was top-notch, featuring some fantastic brands and niche offerings that could have made me leave with way more than I bought. Staff were excellent and friendly, with a very welcoming feel. We had a meal in the restaurant before we left, which was something everyone must do. Delicious takes on some traditional food, with the whole table enjoying their meal. Definitely coming back as this has everything you can enjoy from a resort course and can see that staying here would offer a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle.

We booked here last minute for my birthday and were treated so good! We got our room changed to a room overlooking the golf course and was treated to complementary wine delivered to the room! Raghaw at the front desk was awesome and got us dinner reservations to enjoy the restaurant. Great stay, we’ll be back!

Terrible experience, so disappointed! We booked 2 months in advance, booked through Expedia, which was fine! However had to call directly to book tee times, which I did not mind! Good goo tee times, so we were looking forward to it. On check in, they confirmed our tee times. An hour later I went to inquire about driving range etc, we where asked when we where playing, I stated Friday at 1;09, September 5! Response, no you’re not! The close is closed all day for a tournament! Nothing they could do, no luck talking to a manager at club house or front desk! Sorry, we will find out what happened! No word from hotel! Later that night we booked another resort and Tee time at another course! We checked out, no word if they will try and charge us the additional night we were to stay! Terrible way to run a business, notification earlier, we would have changed out dates! A phone by the hotel appears to much effort!

Accessible only by boat or floatplane from Tofino, this off-grid luxury resort provides a remote getaway on the shores of Clayoquot Sound.
What a magical place! The location is only accessible by boat or seaplane. The food is spectacular and local wherever possible. The staff were first class. Everyone we met were friendly and knowledgeable. The excursions were all unique and a ton of fun. This place is one of a kind.

WOW what an experience! There are places that take your breath away—and then there’s Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, where even your soul exhales. Tucked away between old-growth rainforest and the wild Pacific, this extraordinary sanctuary delivers luxury so seamlessly woven into nature that it feels like it was always meant to be there. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just a resort—it was a community. The people at Clayoquot are as warm and grounding as the cedar that lines the en-suite bathrooms of the luxury tents (which, by the way, have heated floors—a welcome surprise after misty morning hikes or river adventures). Their hospitality is sincere, their smiles constant, and their passion for this land palpable. Each day held something unforgettable: horseback rides through lush forest paths, gourmet meals with ingredients sourced from the very land and sea around us, and soul-stirring hikes through towering old-growth trees. Knowing that this ancient ecosystem is actively protected—thanks in part to Clayoquot’s support of partners like Seaflora Skincare and the Ancient Forest Alliance—made every step feel purposeful. It’s rare to find a place so deeply committed to preserving the magic it shares. The line between luxury and wilderness blurs here. You might wake up to the call of eagles, spend your afternoon kayaking alongside sea lions, and come home to a turn-down service in your tent that rivals the finest hotels—all in the same day. Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge is exceptional in every way. But what truly sets it apart isn’t the stunning setting or five-star comforts—it’s the people who make you feel like you belong in this wild, wonderful place. And once you’ve been, a piece of your heart will always remain there.

Don't think about it...just go. The MANY guided activities, cuisine, property, accommodations, and BAR are exceptional. The staff however, is BEYOND exceptional , 10 stars. While this venue may be financially out of reach for many people, it is 100% worth every penny. So if you get the opportunity to visit CWL...a truly heavenly place, don't hesitate for a second. If you want to lay around at a luxury hotel and get pampered, go to the Four Seasons. If you want an experience of a lifetime... go to CWL.

The most wonderful personalised stay, everything about this lodge brought a smile to our faces. You are greeted from the seaplane by welcoming faces and their two dogs then whisked to the lodge and handed sparkling wine whilst being orientated. The tented lodging is gorgeous, our room kitted out with chairs overlooking the river, comfortable bed and bathroom indoors. Coffee was delivered to your tent to enjoy pre breakfast each morning. The food and beverage was also delicious throughout, and would particularly like to comment on how excellent the pastry chef is. There were a variety of activities offered which were ran in small groups and very enjoyable such as hiking, kayaking, whale watching. We had some excellent guides / activity leaders and would like to call out MC who runs the cold plunge sessions and two of the hiking guides we had, Luke and Jared. Although the above experience does come at a sizeable cost, if you are considering a stay here, don’t hesitate, just book, I imagine we will be back ourselves one day!

Beautiful location. Very quiet. We stayed in a middle row cottage, at the end of the row, closest to the forest. The deer came onto the property to rest on the lawn. The rooms were airy and clean. I loved the heated bathroom floor. The kitchen has a great layout. There were all sorts of rosewood furniture and rosewood accents in the cottage we were in. The private hot tub was wonderful, and we were delighted to see many stars from it at night. The restaurant and pub were lovely, and had lovely patios. Nice walkways to and from the amenities area. There was a bit of a haul to get from the car to the cottage. If you are handicapped, mention it to the front desk at the time of booking to get a unit close to parking. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

Over all our experience to Poets Cove was very enjoyable for the weekend. We came to the Island for a wedding that was hosted at the resorts. As we have rented out all the cabins it was very enjoyable for us as we had a sense of a private community for the weekend. The views from the resort are phenomenal and you can catch some beautiful sunsets there. While it’s fairly isolated from the rest of the island the island is small enough for that not being an issue if you wanted to explore the island, go disc golfing or go the the plaza to get some things from the store. Would highly recommend this getaway whether it’s for a couple, a group of friends and also a nice place to get married. The only downside is that the resort is showing its age and could use some updates to match up to its pricing and 4 star credibility

Poet's Cove Resort is great. There is a quaint nautical theme, the rooms are super clean and the grounds are meticulous. The crisp architecture looks like it was built last week. Everyone is super friendly. Love it. Only downside is that the Lodge rooms do not have any microwave available to use... at all.

I imagine when this place was new that it was quite luxurious. But the owners (who also own Harrison Hot Springs hotel) have not kept the place up at all. At best this is a 3 star resort. Upon arrival we were early so didn’t expect to check in but we were allowed to use the pool. However they wouldn’t give us any towels “There aren’t any.” So we just sat out by the beach waiting for them to call which they never did. At 4pm we went back and were told 5 minutes still. They are clearly very understaffed. We stayed in one of the cottages which is a great size. But needs repairs. Windows that are broken etc. And it definitely could have been cleaner. The wooden platform around the hot tub gave way under my daughter’s feet and she fell through and was cut up and bruised by the wood and rusty nails. The whole thing is rotten and was in the same condition at another cottage our family rented. We didn’t have anyone come and speak with us after we told the front desk. And as someone else mentioned, there isn’t any management presence. The lower, bigger pool wasn’t open so the little one was quite crowded. And there is clearly mold in the bathrooms. This place needs a major overhaul of renovations/maintenance and far more staff. I hold the owners responsible for that. If this property was listed as 2-3 stars I probably would have expected this condition.

We had a beautiful stay for our anniversary at poets cove. Because we were late getting the ferry, all shops were closed and there was no time to get a drink to celebrate. Anna at the front desk was incredibly accommodating, giving us a bottle of red wine with a smile. Thank you so much to your wonderful staff and all that you do!

Beautiful location, friendly/helpful staff, and great pool facilities. The cabin we stayed in was excellent, and the hot-tub was a nice touch. The only critiques I have are that there was a lot of dishware missing in the cabin, appliances (ie toaster/washing machine) did not work well and the check in process was a little behind/disorganized. Otherwise, an enjoyable place to stay.

Staff were nice but the hotel is in dire need of a deep clean and some TLC. We were put in a pet friendly room without being told and there were huge pee stains on the floor and large scratches on the door and it smelled of dogs. Know it’s an older hotel but a good clean and some minor repairs would go a LONG way. View was amazing from the hotel.

Rooms are not bad. Need a bit of updating but lovely views. My issue (s) are 1) they supply plastic cups wrapped in plastic for water & coffee - wonder why it isn't a resort that is environmentally on board?? 2) loud band playing one night so not able to enjoy a peaceful evening. It’s up to the resort to tell clients when booking that these events are happening so they can make an informed choice. It was a pricey experience that was very unfortunately disappointing.

Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort & Conference Centre is a beachfront retreat nestled in 22 acres of serene forest. The resort offers rustic-chic rooms, bungalows, and cabins, providing ample space and kitchen facilities. Guests can enjoy the outdoor playground, indoor pool, and complimentary dining for kids at the on-site restaurants. The award-winning Grotto Spa offers a range of pampering treatments using natural West Coast ingredients.
For me it was a vacation, for my wife it was a mix of business and a retreat. The room (along the ridge just over the beach) was A++, fresh, clean, perfect environment, incredible view, comfortable and quiet. The food provided by the kitchen staff in buffet format for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was varied, fresh, flavourful, and absolutely top notch. The resort itself is beautiful, the cabins are in amongst the trees, the roadway is minimal to prevent chopping down more of the woods. The restaurant is great, the conference room is spacious, it is a classy spot to take your family or business.

Staff was amazing! We got an ocean view 1 bedroom unit. Nicely appointed kitchen and bathroom. View was stunning. Walk to beach was steep but doable. Unfortunately bedroom was stuffy and hot. No AC or fan in bedroom. Didn’t feel comfortable leaving window open all night as it readily accessible by walkway. I would recommend getting studio if only two people in order to enjoy cooling systems

Went to do the “Dip & Dine” experience because we were in the area for a trail race. The grotto experience was alright but it was missing a cold plunge entirely. The only way to get the cold immersion was to use the outside showers as the inside waterfall by the hot tub only trickled cold water and wasn’t the right pressure. Hot herbal tea wasn’t provided, only fizzy flavoured water (inside the grotto) which was alright. For $115, more options would have been nice. Towels, number of showers/bathrooms/changing areas, number of saunas, the hot tub temperature and the mineral pools were all great! Same with shower amenities and hair dryer/hair products and skin products. Those were good. For the dining experience we found the tapas menu to be too slow and partially bland. There was too much waiting time between the dishes and the overall flavour palette of the dishes were alright. Nothing overly special. In fact, some weren’t very tasty and felt bland. However the decor was nice, though it was hard to sit since the tables had a very large table base so you were forced to pick a side when sitting. I ended up sitting crossed legged -which the chairs allowed. We didn’t stay the night and we were driving by it and happened to be in the area. Overall, I personally wouldn’t return but it’s nice to do at least once.

Just had a beautiful weekend Ti na Mara !!!! We had planned a getaway to Alberta to visit some friends, but had some troubles and decided last minute to head up to drop Parksville. From the initial phone call of booking to our check-in to our wonderful room. Everything was amazing.! The food and beverage manager, Kim went beyond what we expected! Thank you so much, Kim. You made our Thanksgiving 2025 one of the best ones and a great memory. I highly recommend Ti Na Mara

I would NOT recommend the spa / grotto, my wife and I came from the mainland to celebrate our wedding anniversary with a " relaxing " spa and tapas experience. Unfortunately the grotto was nothing more than a public pool experience noisy and far from relaxing !!! We had to spend majority of our time in the saunas where people were still barging in even when the hostesses had clearly stated if theres sandals and house coats at the door to wait your turn . Clearly no common curtacy or common sense. If you are going to be charged over $100 per person just to have a noisy and over crowded experience you're better off saving yourself the money and time and go to a public pool . Youre better off going to Sparkling Hills or Scandinave to name a couple that actually emphasize QUIET AND RELAXING ENVIRONMENT and make it crystal clear to the guests its a quiet environment !!! That is what a spa experience is supposed to be. We were not the only couple that felt the same way that we spoke to. That being said the tapas were excellent ! Unfortunately with the both of us being more stressed out than when we came it effected our dining experience. By this point i had run out of patience and waiting between courses to be served was irritating to say the least . We have both been here before in the past and enjoyed our experience its unfortunate this is how it ended this time . No I would NOT recommend the spa / grotto but if you can skip this part and go straight for the tapas you won't be disappointed.

Our oceanview room was lovely, the location is nice … that part we did enjoy but overall the rest of the experience was very underwhelming. The spa is a overpriced and not worth it. My favourite part of a facial is the massage aspect. The massage was effortless and very short lived. My spa technician was awkward and felt like they were not experienced. My pores could have also been much more extracted. When I kindly brought all of this to the attention of the spa staff upon checking out of my service they apologized and offered nothing to rectify the situation. They also still charged me an automatic 15% gratuity on a service I was not happy with. I am traditional in the sense that a tip is earned for a good service. If it was a good service I would have happily tipped 20%. I feel the auto gratuity entitles the staff to not give their best to their customer because they are getting tipped anyway. Then theres the grotto. You pay $120+ a 15% gratuity to sit in a glorified public pool. I was under the impression it was a more exclusive experience considering the price. There had to have been 20-30 people in there, empty glasses and towels/sandals everywhere. It was not relaxing whatsoever, was extremely disappointing and felt like a total waste of money. Then a 15% gratuity, for what? Who was I tipping? The cost and tip made absolutely no sense whatsoever. There is a way better spa resort further north so I will not be returning here or recommending it to anyone. This place just wants your money with subpar service.

Nice room and great views. Service was generally very good except for the dining room hostess who checked us in for our reservation and then disappeared for ten minutes. When I flagged down a passing waiter to ask, he investigated and came back to say that she was bussing tables and cleaning up. Obviously they were short staffed if your hostess had to bus, leaving customers at the front waiting. By the time she came back there were three couples waiting. When we were walked to our table we saw multiple free tables so it wasn't a case of having to clear a table for us. Our waiter at dinner was very helpful and made up for the earlier inconvenience.

The Boathouse Spa's eucalyptus scent and the soothing sounds of crashing waves create an atmosphere of tranquility. With over two dozen facial treatments and invigorating massages available, guests are sure to leave glowing.
My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel and spa for our anniversary, and we truly couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. Every interaction was warm, friendly, and genuine and it was clear that they truly care about their guests and take pride in delivering exceptional service. Our stay was made even more special by the thoughtful touches and attention to detail. The atmosphere was peaceful and romantic, making it the perfect setting to celebrate our anniversary. We also had the pleasure of visiting the Boathouse Spa, which was absolutely incredible. It was relaxing, luxurious, and left us feeling completely refreshed. This was one of the most memorable stays we've ever had, and we’re already planning our return. Thank you to the entire team for making our special occasion so unforgettable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a serene, five-star experience!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel for my wedding, and it was truly a world-class experience. The room was beautiful, with every detail thoughtfully designed. The amenities were top-notch, and the food was absolutely delicious throughout our stay. What stood out the most was the exceptional staff. They were incredibly helpful in supporting the preparation and organization of our post-wedding brunch event — everything went smoothly, and we felt genuinely cared for. The spa facilities were also lovely and made for a relaxing escape amidst the busy celebrations. I highly recommend staying at this hotel, whether for a special occasion or simply to enjoy a luxurious getaway.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Oak Bay Beach Resort. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The spa area was absolutely amazing—relaxing, well-kept, and a true highlight of our trip. The restaurants were outstanding, serving some of the most incredible food we’ve had in a long time. A special mention goes to the long-haired waitress at The Snug Pub (I wish I remembered her name). She was incredibly personable, and her great attitude and customer service made our dinner so much more enjoyable. The front desk staff were also fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and professional. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our experience. I would highly recommend Oak Bay Beach Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with excellent service, food, and atmosphere.

Unfortunately had a horrible stay here at Oak Bay Beach Hotel. I was unable to access my hotel room this past weekend. I had to go to reception multiple times to get new key cards and none of them worked. The staff then tried to use the master key which also did not work! One would hope that there would be a way to access your hotel room that you booked.... I was locked out of my room for 30 embarrassing minutes. Furthermore, I have no faith that if this was an emergency that the hotel staff would've known how to respond. There was no manager that evening which is odd. And then we found out that the operations manager was not working the day after (Sunday) to address the issue. The operations manager needs to be working to ensure the hotel is operating....the hotel is clearly not operating. Additonally, the windows and suites are not very sound proof. We could hear construction across the street as well as diners on the patio and also guests next door. All this noise while the windows were closed. Definitely not the relaxing experience we were expecting. Furthermore, the lack of management is very frustrating. I was supposed to receive a follow up call today and no such thing has happened. Extremely disappointed. Shane Gould, please contact me. Update, after multiple attempts to reach someone when I was told someone was going to phone me yesterday, my negative experience was basically minimized and many things were said during the conversation which were contradictory. I have updated the review to reflect this.

Spa, not hotel review: Run, don't walk, to see Jessica (RMT). I initially booked as a relaxation massage far in advance, but by the time I arrived had pretty bad back pain. Jessica is both incredibly skilled and so lovely. It was definitely a treatment massage and worth every penny. My back pain is almost gone. Huge props for providing stretching exercise suggestions, not to mention her favorite local spots to eat (which she jotted down for me). Thank you, Jessica, 10/10

This was our first time staying at Oak Bay Hotel, and it was a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the manager, who even surprised our baby with an adorable toy dog that he absolutely loved. The room was very comfortable, and the hotel itself was immaculate. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Although we didn’t stay long enough to explore all that the hotel has to offer, we’ll definitely be booking here again next time we’re in Victoria. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. I really appreciated how well equipped the rooms were. I loved the quality of the products used and the bathrobes. What I think would have made it excellent for me was more knowledgeable staff at reception and a more personal touch (customer care). I had mentioned in my reservation that it was going to be my gift for my husband’s birthday, asking for an earlier check in. I never got the acknowledgement of my special request, and there was no personal touch gesture in our room. Typically, we would see at least a happy birthday note. That was a bit disappointing as it would have made that day a bit more special for my beloved. Additionally, it was disappointing to discover that the hotel had no business centre or quiet rooms one could use for work meetings. My husband and I both had to have a few business meetings during our stay and sharing one desk in the room was very inconvenient for both of us. The mineral pools made it all worth it for me. Fantastic views, perfect water temperature, not overcrowded (before dinner). All the staff at the restaurants are lovely; top notch service! All in all, I would recommend this hotel for special occasions, but wouldn’t expect the staff to go above and beyond to make the stay extra special for you. Also, wouldn’t recommend it for business travel or a working holiday when both partners need to work at the same time.

Concierge greeted us and was very friendly to welcome to the spa. Our massages from our RMT was amazing. They made us feel welcomed and really receptive to make our experience relaxing. After we were able to use the mineral spa facilities. The view of the bay water was amazing and relaxing. There is a 2 hot tubs and a mineral pool. You can enjoy this spa facilities for 2 hours post massage service. Totally would recommend and hope to be back soon.

I came here for a wedding and I really loved the location and enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is beautiful. It has a restaurant and a cute little coffee bar which was great in the morning. The beds are comfy, the rooms are big and clean. There is a pool and hot tub even though I didn't get the chance to use it. It is a little expensive but I truly enjoyed my time here. The one and only complaint I have and it is not enough to knock a star down is the rooms temperature. I was either too hot and then the a/c would auto kick in and I'd wake up freezing. My own fault as I should of gotten up to try and fix it. Overall very happy and would stay again.

We spent 2 nights here, beginning of August. It was beautiful! The staff when we checked in and out were fantastic. The room was spacious, and beds were Queens as advertised (we've been fooled at a few places and get doubles instead). The kids highly enjoyed the fact there was a TV in the washroom. There were seals galore right out front, that were so fun to watch, so that was a nice treat. My only "complaint" would be that we had a partial ocean view room with a balcony. But our room was tucked back against the building... therefore, we had the large public patio both behind us, beside us, and partially in front of us, which pretty much made our balcony useless as there were usually people in front of us standing on the hotels patio, blocking our view 100%. **Please note that there were multiple rooms with the partial view that didnt have the public patio blocking them, ours just wasn't one of them** Would absolutely return to this hotel again!

The view and atmosphere were also great, and I was really happy. But this time, I ordered a steak, and it came in maybe seven tiny pieces. Nestled on the picturesque Bear Mountain, The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa offers a luxurious retreat with top-notch amenities. We had a wonderful stay at The Westin Bear Mountain. Our room was impressively spacious and very comfortable. A huge highlight was the surprise free upgrade to a room with a stunning mountain view – thank you so much to the staff for that incredible perk! We loved relaxing in the large bathtub and spending time on the big balcony taking in the scenery. The only minor hiccup was finding the spa facilities – the signage or directions could perhaps be a bit clearer. Overall, a truly great experience. The upgrade made it extra special, and the room itself was perfect. We highly recommend staying here and would definitely return!

I stayed at The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa for my annual work retreat and it was AMAZING. I simply couldn't be more thrilled with the level of service that we received. From arrival, check-in, housekeeping, restaurant staff, etc. Everyone was welcoming, warm and attentive to details. My room was impressively spacious and very comfortable - seriously! 1.5 bathrooms, full kitchen, dining area, living room (with pull-out queen bed), storage closet, 2 full walk in closets ... so much space! A huge highlight was having the large bathtub to relax in and the big wrap around balcony to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views! There is a restaurant onsite, as well as a pub/cafe just across the parking lot. You can order food directly to your room, for a delivery service charge. The Spa facilities are fabulous and the golf course is great. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely return! (On a professional note: I planned the work retreat and coordinated the weekend event onsite at the resort. The events management team, catering, meeting boardroom location, time management ... everything I dealt with them on was perfection. It was so stress free and wonderful to plan the retreat with them.)

We stayed here for two nights with a very large group in a number of suite units and hotel rooms. It was 30C each day and we complained that the AC didn’t work in any of the rooms (temperatures of 24-25C in the rooms). Despite repeatedly inquiring about getting this fixed, nothing was done so it was a very uncomfortable stay for everyone. At over $550/night/room I would not ever consider coming back here when there’s much more affordable options that would have allowed us to sleep comfortably. Some of the rooms with suites had a terrible smell in them too, and the service from staff was pretty abysmal with the exception of the guys at the front who were very professional and helpful. The restaurant in the lobby was a bit of a nightmare too. Half our table waited almost 2 hours to get their mains and it didn’t seem like the servers had a clue who was in charge or how to handle a large group. Golf course was a total nightmare as well. We will not be staying here again in the future.

I recently spent a couple of weeks at the Westin Bear Mountain and cannot say enough about the amazing staff. From valet to the front desk to housekeeping, every single team member was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. This trip was a particularly stressful one for me, and returning to the hotel each night felt like a true refuge. My room was beautifully appointed, the view was breathtaking, and the service consistently exceeded my expectations. I am deeply grateful to the entire staff for the many thoughtful touches—both big and small—that made my stay so much more comfortable.

We had a good stay at the Westin recently over the weekend. It’s a stunning location with beautiful scenery and a very welcoming staff. The people went out of their way to make you feel happy, especially the Doorman Scott. Our only complaint would be the room itself is a little dated, not sure if their AC was broken in our Suite which we paid for an upgrade. The air-flow would only pump heat into our room and we have a toddler, so it just lead to some hot evenings. My father in law sat on the toilette and fell off as the screws at the back of toilette were not tight. Staff fixed it quickly, but little details made it a 3 star for us.

We had a really great stay at The Westin Bear Mountain – overall an amazing experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the service was definitely 5-star. Our room was clean and cozy, and the views were beautiful. The food was another highlight – both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were fantastic. Easily 5 stars for the food and hospitality! The only downside, and the reason we’re giving 4 stars instead of 5, is that the spa facilities (like the pool and saunas) weren’t included – you have to pay extra to use them. It’s a bit of a bummer, especially since it’s a spa resort. That kind of access would’ve really made the experience feel complete. That said, we did enjoy the outdoor hot tub with amazing views, which was a great touch. All in all, still a wonderful place to stay – just wish the spa experience didn’t come with so many extra charges.

Dear Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa Management, I am writing to formally express my disappointment following a recent two-night stay at your hotel. While the property itself is beautiful and the views were quite enjoyable, our experience was significantly affected by persistent electrical issues in our room. During our stay, we encountered a major inconvenience when half the power in our room unexpectedly shut off. I understand that technical issues can occur, but the timing and handling of the situation left much to be desired. Given that we spent very little time in the room during the day, the few moments we were there were made uncomfortable due to the lack of air conditioning, no access to the TV, and extremely limited lighting—only the bathroom and one other light functioned. This also made packing especially difficult. We reported the issue to the front desk, and while it was resolved the following morning, we were informed the power switch was located outside our room. For the inconvenience, we were offered a $50 credit toward breakfast. Considering the discomfort caused, I found this compensation underwhelming. To make matters worse, in the early morning on the day of our departure, the power shut off again. When we informed the front desk, their response appeared indifferent and dismissive, which only added to our frustration. This repeated issue and lack of concern from staff made an otherwise pleasant stay end on a disappointing note. I believe a more appropriate resolution would have been warranted under the circumstances, and I hope you will take this feedback seriously to improve future guest experiences.

We were really excited to use the presidential suite for our wedding and had the reservation booked months in advance for our wedding August 29th (3 days from now). It's a beautiful spot and had plans for my bridal party to get ready and had times for the Spa to relax. Sadly, I lost my 19 year old son to a car crash exactly 2 weeks ago. He was supposed to walk me down the isle and has been absolutely devastating for myself and our family. In cancelling our wedding, this reservation amongst many others, we spoke to several people with Bear Mountain to request a refund, and due to their policy, was only issued a $2875 credit to use for a future stay within 12 months. You see, we only just live down the hill from the hotel, and the expenses we have incurred have been overwhelming. This is what we paid for a two night stay, and are currently being denied a refund. I ask that you please revisit your policy and have some compassion for the circumstance. This was the only reservation that has not shown such. I'm so tired with all the calls I've had to make and break each time I repeat myself. This was my baby, my only son, and we are drowning in grief, when it should have been the happiest days of our lives.

I loved this place! I chose to treat myself for my birthday with a two-night stay during my travels, but in the end, I stayed four nights because I felt so comfortable. It was a bit pricey, but compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at, it offered much better value — cleaner, more beautiful, and friendlier staff! I really liked the location, although getting around without a car can be a bit inconvenient if you want to explore nearby areas. The pool and hot tub were great, the laundry service (3 CAD) was very convenient, and the young, friendly team made my stay even better. Special thanks to Sebastian, Lauren & Jordan! And a big thank you for the birthday gift — that truly delighted me. If I have to suggest small improvements (and of course there’s always something): my room had a few spiderwebs and a couple of spiders. Nothing major, but a little extra attention there would make it perfect. I also had some difficulties accessing the pool area, as sometimes only one of the two doors (the men’s) was working, so I had to try several times. But it was always worth it.

Words from my girlfriend- ‘This place is truly what heaven feels like, there were old people playing music softly in the distance. There was rolling fields of green grass and a gorgeous giant tree to lay under, not to mention the fire pits, the barbecue area was an awesome touch! And of course, the beach is the most incredible beach in Tofino. It’s full of people walking their dogs. Everyone’s happy everyone’s vibing and there’s amazing places to explore the sea life. We had the most amazing Day and the most amazing sunset of our entire lives here! The room the room was also so cozy and the A-frame made it feel so unique not to mention the deck had an amazing view of the ocean and it was so nice to drink our tea there every morning. The staff were also very friendly and the pool was also interesting. Would stay here again.’

Stayed here for the first time with our pup. The welcome feeling for us and our dog were fantastic. The cabin was stocked with essentials and so clean. The views and proximity to the beach was perfect. We will definitely be back. So warm and cozy. Community fire pits and covered bbq area were an awesome bonus.

It was fabulous to have a cabin with a balcony and a breathtaking view. We were able to cook but found it frustrating that the smoke alarms went off without cause. The bed was comfortable though a bit of a climb up. It was a pleasure to walk the beaches. Our son gave us a tour of the rainforest, the surfing beaches, and we even had a go on the waves. It was great to have a pool and hotub with a place to wash clothes. We enjoyed our forays into Tofino.

Ocean Village in Tofino is absolute paradise within paradise. The ocean is just steps away, the cabins feel like magic, and everything about this place radiates peace. A special shoutout to Cassidy at the front desk—she was incredibly kind, helpful, and made everything easy from start to finish. If you’re looking for the perfect mix of beauty, comfort, and genuine hospitality, this is it

Cabins and locations was as expected - amazing the service however was not. We were charged additional $112.50 for our little dog even though when we booked on the website did not add fee for a pet. We clean the room perfectly after our stay but the manager insisted on the fee claiming they have to “change the mattress” and fumigate the room because of the dog. Of course they never did that. It was an unfortunate experience and we’ll never go back.
Jivko J — Google review
Rooms are quite small and very basic (two star level accoms), indoor pool and hot tub is a nice feature when you want a break from the sun and sand, and the overall location is ideal for families (great grass area behind the beach and nice communal bbq’s). One of the two fire pits was struggling to work when we were able to nab one, and they shut them all off at 10. The lack of more fire pits is a drag as it’s really hard to get one given the number of units. Lost water for a couple hours on two mornings during our stay due to a pipe burst. Overall we had a pleasant stay but 605 pn plus fees and taxes I expected a bit more space, slightly nicer touches and a higher level of service.

The view from the room is magnificent! Our luck the weather was warm and sunny, watched a beautiful sunset and stars. The service was friendly and professional. We will visit again.

Sunrise Ridge Waterfront Resort is a modern beach resort located along the famous resort drive, offering spacious and modern west coast style 2-bedroom suites. It's a family-friendly destination in Parksville, Vancouver Island, with plenty of activities for both kids and adults. The resort features new townhouse-style rental units perfect for families and groups.
We really enjoyed our time here. We stayed in room 412 B. The bed was comfortable. I wish there was at least one firm pillow. The shower had insane pressure, to the point where it was painful. We did notify staff, and hopefully this will be fixed. Nice towels and robes provided at the pool and I liked the flexible hours available, though the pool was often full of kids. I love that there’s ice cream and mini golf walking distance away. Keep in mind the beach is very rocky

A big thank you to Sherry at the front desk for going above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. She was incredibly helpful with our reservation over the phone and just as kind and welcoming when we checked in. She went out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable from the very beginning. The two-bedroom townhouses are absolutely incredible, very spacious, with everything you could need right in the room. We can’t recommend them enough and are thrilled with our stay here.
Mona T — Google review
The suite was beautiful but the cleaning staff could have paid better attention to detail. Arrived and half the dishes were in the dish washer, the body soap was empty in the shower so we had to get out of the shower and take it from the tub dispenser. The shower door was hard to keep closed tight enough to keep water from getting all over the floor. Lastly the fire place didn't produce heat or flame. Despite all of this we we enjoyed having a suite which had a nice bed, good couch and living room area. The kitchen was decent and well stocked.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite and LOVED it. Beautiful new clean space. Great pool. Family & dog friendly. Perfect for family gatherings with a variety of room options. Highly recommend. We plan to return next year

This is our first time staying here. We stayed in one of the townhomes. I felt it was very spacious for the 4 of us. It was modern, clean, and the kitchen had enough supplies so we could cook. We made use of the Webber grill and they also had a ninja blender. The only thing I didn’t like was the pool never had any towels left when I’d take my daughter around 3pm. Also, the tiny gym could be improved by adding 1 weightlifting bench and some yoga mats. Other than that, loved the location and relaxing atmosphere.

Nice resort/hotel. I was in the main "lodge". I call it a lodge as it wouldn't be out of place on the ski hill - it really is a beautiful place. There's no restaurant on premises, but one within walking distance, but the room came with a pretty decent kitchenette. The room is quiet - I was confused when I got the room 128B - which would indicate a room A. As it turns out, there's a little room (128) that has 2 rooms off it (A & B) - perfect if you're traveling with a group and want to be in close proximity! It also made it very quiet - I don't think I heard anyone in the halls. And because it's set off of the main road, I really didn’t hear traffic. The room had great blackout curtains. I didn't get a chance to sit out on the little patio as the weather wasn't the greatest, but it was a nice option. Also within walking distance to the ocean, but beach access was challenging as there wasn't much of a staircase to it.
Kaylee N — Google review
The place was nice and we were able to book a waterfront view. However, the microwave was broken upon check in and management refused to fix it for the duration of the stay. Considering the hotel forces a minimum stay of 3 nights and microwaves are pretty much plug and play, you should book with the assumption that you may not get the amenities listed in the booking. Management has proven from this experience that they won't fix broken appliances. Shades are also razor thin so expect to wake up early from the blinding sun.

We have been coming to this resort for many years and always loved it. Unfortunately, this year we were disappointed. Our room was not ready until 5:30 PM. Housekeeping staff spoke over the radio in an unprofessional way to the front desk. Alex and Mark at the desk were very polite and tried their best to help. When we got to the room, there were no sheets for the sofa bed and some small trash on the floor, which we cleaned ourselves because we have a child. Thank you to Alex and Mark, and also to their manager at checkout who listened to everyone and kept a friendly smile.

Great getaway place with plenty to explore around. Neat and clean rooms with amazing views. The only downside is no TV at this place. If you are taking kids with you, please pack your tablets.

Very quiet, friendly, nicely laid out, clean and maintained. Lovely views of waterway between Quadra and Campbell River. They have 50 amp electrical, so bring an adapter if your RV is 30 amp. The camp host lent us one, much appreciated.

I stayed at this dump in August 2023 and couldn’t get away fast enough. Upon (pre booked) checkin my room had clearly not been cleaned (unmade bed, beer cans, etc.) and the woman at reception said the hotel was full and suggested that I call around to find another hotel (she did not offer to call herself, and it’s already 6pm on a small island in peak season). With no success and nowhere else to stay, she finally agreed to clean the room so I could check in around 9pm. It was fine, clean enough but clearly hadn’t been updated in 30-40 years. I tried the sauna, it barely worked and was full of mildew. Food looked pretty sinister. Location and trails were gorgeous 10/10 on that, but I still checked out early after just the one night. Apparently they are selling the resort so hopefully the new owners do something with the amazing location.

Really enjoyed our stay at the resort which was welcoming and a fun place to be for a couple of days. The free archery and other amenities were a nice added touch. Rooms were older but very clean and the views are fabulous. I must say the restaurant left a lot to be desired and was a big disappointment. We sat for almost an hour waiting for our food to arrive with little to no attention from the server, and when it finally did both dishes were incredibly bland and the portions very small for the prices charged. I’d go as far as to say this was probably the blandest dinner I’ve ever eaten and that’s saying quite a lot. Great resort but very disappointing restaurant experience.

My husband I took a day to adventure around the island. We stopped at the lodge for the views and lunch. I must admit I was very surprised. The food was not only amazingly good, but also affordable. The staff are super friendly. The seafood chowder was amazing and the fish and chips was cook to perfection. Best seafood lunch along our journey. The views from the patio were breathtaking as well.

I ate at their restaurant almost exclusively once I found it. The seafood soup was one of the best soups I’ve ever had. The prime rib and Yorkshire pudding and vegetables were perfection. Even the horseradish was hot. The mussels were exotic and in an absolutely delicious sauce. The service was informative and cheerful, and delivered some excellent cocktails.

Beautiful spot. We had a small queen room. Great view from the balcony. No AC and no TV. Great opening windows and a fan for good air circulation. The bed and pillows were wonderful. The grounds are beautiful, and the restaurant is really good. Great price for a great location. We will be back!!

We stayed 2 nights on a long weekend and our stay was good. The VIEWS! They were spectacular!! We saw eagles, humpback whales and I could have spent hours just sitting on the balcony looking out. Our room was clean and a had a stunning view as all the rooms do. It's a little out-dated but that's not a big deal. The staff we friendly and helpful. The only downside for us was the restaurant (also quite out-dated). We ate 2 meals (a breakfast and a dinner) and the service, though friendly, was slow. The food was mediocre and overpriced for what you were getting. Overall, we had a lovely stay and the spectacular views at this resort make it a great place to visit.

Self-catering accommodation
Sooke Harbour Resort & Marina is a modern resort located by the harbor, providing well-equipped apartments with kitchens, fireplaces, and balconies. The resort also features a marina and serves as a hub for local fishing charters. Guests can enjoy comfortable accommodations with properly maintained amenities and fully stocked kitchens. The cozy interiors and just-right beds make for a great stay at this picturesque waterfront destination.
It's a perfect location in Sooke. It's a town home with nice water view. Your parking spot is just in front of the town home. It's closed to all attractions and downtown. They keep the place and unit tidy and clean. The big kitchen and the nice patio are good for a family meal. There are a big BBQ oven in the patio. The supermarket in the town has well keep stock for you. The interior is just as good as the pictures that showing in their website. We didn't see any seals in the wharf this time. If it's a busy fishing season, there are a lots of seals around the harbour waiting for some free fishes. The only problem we have is the door lock. It's a little tricky to open it. Luckily, we get there before they close at 5pm. The staff is super friendly to show us how to do it. Thank you. They sent me the email teaching you how to open the door lock in a video. But it's too bad all emails in the junk email box, I check it out when I back home. Maybe, they should remind you check your junk email box since I get only one email from them.

This was my first time I here with my family for a nice weekend get away to come and visit my aunt and uncle. This is my first trip of coming to Sooke and we booked a nice house hotel for us to stay in for weekend fun. The rooms were good, tidy, neat. The kitchen was good, the living room was decent. And the sleep was just what the doctor ordered. As for the view, I got the top floor due by the fact I always wanted to see the Ocean sea. And sure enough, the view was everything I was hoping for. As for complaints, there isn't. Get to walk down to the docks to see the sailing boats head off to do some fishing. Did see a seal but that little guy took off before I can take a snap pic. Bottom line, me and my folks enjoyed it and if I was to come back here again. I know where to book and rest my body and soul from my travels here in Sooke ^^

Check in is an absolute nightmare here. It does not operate like a regular hotel/lobby. I was given check in instructions to bring my ID and payment card to the front office for check in, there is nobody to show those details to! On top of that, there are no other instructions given on the email for checkin. So I was having to sit in the parking lot after calling a number that nobody will answer repeatedly. DO NOT BOOK HERE. Your experience will be frustrating, the service will be terrible, you’re better off booking at a regular hotel.
Carissa G — Google review
Great location if you are wanting to do a fishing excursion from the marina. We stayed in unit 142 which was very quiet. Hot tub located very close to this unit which we used. The unit itself is in need of some refreshing (very dirty carpets), however beds were comfortable and overall we were pleased with our choice of accomodation. The basic supplies for stays more than a a day or so are pretty skimpy...ie. dishwasher tablets, toilet paper etc. If you are planning to do any beach activities in the local area be prepared to bring your own chairs, beach toys etc. It would be nice if these could be picked up for use from the reception centre if each unit does not supply them.
Hel C — Google review
We went crabbing on the docks. It was great! They have a great station for cleaning your crabs before you take them home so you can remove the guts and feed it to the shrimp, seals, orders, and other marine life who will happily eat it 🙂

*Edit to respond to the owner* I did not have two bookings, I only had one. It was under my name, and booked several months in advance. A family member (same last name, different first name) booked a unit under their name, and later canceled their booking, not me. There should have been no way for my booking to be canceled. My husband and I booked a rental here for a few nights as we were having our wedding nearby. We had many family members staying here too. However when it was time to get our check in email, nothing came in. So we called and we were on hold for a while, then transferred around. The communication was very poor and there is no office on site. We found out they had accidentally canceled our booking, and had no space for us. Imagine that, the bride and groom now have nowhere to stay for their wedding! After calling around they found us a similar rental at a sister property, which is a 35 minute drive away from the original property (where our family was still staying), and 30 minutes from the town of Sooke, which is incredibly inconvenient for us as we were having lots of get togethers with friends and family before and after our wedding. There was also no cell service at this new property. When asked about price, they tried to charge me over double for this new property than what I was supposed to pay, and I had to argue to get them to bring it down to the original price. They did not offer us a discount, a free night, nothing for the major inconvenience. We ended up canceling our stay after 1 night and staying somewhere else, because we couldn’t be so far from our families and from town with all of the events we had planned. Total disappointment, and extra stress that we should not have had to face just before our wedding. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Love the location, just on the outer limits of Sooke, so easy to get around. Large enough for a crowd (two good sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sofa bed that is actually good, huge kitchen and dining area). Parking is in front of the unit for 1 truck.

Ocean Trails Resort is a charming woodland condo property located on seven acres overlooking Rathtrevor Beach in Parksville, British Columbia. The resort offers spacious two-bedroom units with balconies, and guests can enjoy amenities such as a heated outdoor pool, a 12-person hot tub, tennis courts, and an on-site playground. While the lack of AC in the rooms was noted, the pool provided a refreshing escape from the heat.
By far the best hotel we’ve stayed at with family! The units were incredibly spacious—more like a condo than a hotel. We had a full kitchen, in-suite laundry, and plenty of room to relax. The resort has everything you could ask for: a big pool, hot tub, kids’ playground, tennis courts, beach access—you name it! The property itself is beautiful and there’s so much open space for kids to run around and play. If you’re planning a trip to Parksville, this resort is a must-visit!

My family and I spent 3 nights at Ocean Trails in one of 2 room suites and one 1 room suite. Overall, it was a lovely experience, but there is room for improvement. The photos on the website and on promotions seem to misreprese the suites we were in. As they are independently owned, fit and finish seem to vary substantially. There was nothing wrong with our suite per say, but also not as nice as the marketing. Cleanliness was below expectations but not terrible. I suggest bringing your own towels. Our unit had some light maintenance issues. Not enough to complain about but enough to mention as feedback to the operators as well as potential guests. I certainly would stay here again and encourage others to do the same, I would just lower my expectations slightly. On the positive, the pool area is nicer in person than the photos and seems to be very well maintained. The resort is good value and you can't beat the location. The resort has the potential to be 5 star but I would give it a solid 4-4.5.

I found this place by randomly checking the resorts near Parksville. Turned out that everything was pretty good. The condos are located in a quiet area with a lot of trees, which also close to the beach. The room we were assigned was clean and tidy, with an AC. All the instructions were clear. I enjoyed the three nights spent here.

Excellent stay at Ocean Trails. Super family oriented with an amazing outdoor pool and hot tub conveniently located just a short trail walk to Rathtrevor Beach. We stayed in unit 7, it was great! Nice corner unit with green space out front.

We were thrilled to have the space we needed for our two families to have a visit. Huge concern with the stairs, very unsafe, steep and likely not up to today's code: we had 2 falls/slips there that could have ended up terribly... Also the walk and ramp to the beach is crazy steep and dangerous. There is no way we can have pulled our wagon up and down there for the day. Unfortunately for some reason, the pool was also closed when we were there ... So that was not fun for the kids. Clean space, but very sparse, no wrap/Rubbermaid, games/puzzles etc for the kids.
Lana H — Google review
We have been coming here for years and always enjoy the resort, its location, pool, hot tub & proximity to the beach. This was the first time with our young grandson and hopefully the beginning of a new tradition. The three bedroom unit worked out perfectly for us with a Nice quiet secluded area out front for him to play & Close to the beach. However we were extremely disappointed to find out thru other guests staying there that they had got a special (stay two nights get one free) for the same time and number of days we were there (6) but they got two nights free which amounted to over a $600. Difference. When we inquired at the front desk we were told it was only offered thru Expedia and was a one off deal however we were told later that we needed to ask about the special in order to get it. When booking our vacation we phoned the resort directly as we believed that we would be given the best price and that it was better than them having to pay fees thru a third party. This was very disappointing as we are retired, on pensions and also long term returning guests. We would have hoped that they would have honored the special to us as well.
Sharon L — Google review
Katherine customer service person on the phone so rude - didn't like answering questions regarding the resort, hung up on me twice and would not provide Manager name - told me to research the resort before booking - which is why i was asking questions about the details in the first place. I had the best facial ever from Rose at Damara Day Spa this afternoon. I had the good luck to have a facial from Rose on my last visit last February. I was pretty pleased to have her again. So gentle, relaxing and caring. My skin is very happy. Thanks Rose.

Rose at Daymara I have visited Daymara Spa at the Delta hotel in Victoria numerous times over the years. Most recently I have had the opportunity of having my services done by Rose. Rose is an excellent aesthetician and massage therapist. Her attention to detail and ensuring that her clients are comfortable and happy with her work are true indications of her love of her profession. I would highly recommend asking for Rose when you next visit Daymara Spa at the Delta Hotel in Victoria.

I really recommend people to visit this spa. It's not only the best spa in Victoria but also five stars. I had a great experience with Anu. She's so skillful and experienced. I had a stressful week but after this treatment today I feel so satisfied. It’s worth spending time here. The facial was so relaxing with the eminence products. I can just easily see the results in like 75 minutes. I had a signature deluxe facial with eye and lip treatment (Eminence). It was amazing. I didn't expect that this was going to be really effective. People please go try out Damara with Anu. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.

Point No Point Resort is a luxurious retreat that offers charming log cabins with stylish rustic decor and their own private sun decks. These cozy accommodations provide breathtaking views of the ocean, allowing guests to relax and unwind while enjoying the soothing sound of crashing waves. The cabins are meticulously maintained, ensuring a clean and comfortable stay for visitors. One of the standout features is the exclusive hot tub located on each cabin's deck, which provides an unbeatable vantage point overlooking the ocean.
We gathered together for a brief weekend visit as 3 couples, and enjoyed a peaceful getaway on the west coat of Vancouver Island, staying at the Bridgehouse in the Point No Point Resort. The scenery and location were stunning and very relaxing. The building is older, the layout could be better with one of the main bedrooms downstairs having a bath and bidet but not a shower, the room upstairs having a separate bathroom down a flight of stairs, with an angled roof which makes entering the shower a bit of a challenge for taller people. The kitchen was not very well stocked with utensils but was acceptable. On the plus side the decks and hot tub were lovely, the lounge and dining room were very comfortable with a lovely fireplace. We enjoyed a pleasant meal at the restaurant last night, with excellent service from Jos. We will return!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Point No Point Resort. Secluded, private, no wifi or cell service, and quiet. Our unit was nicely laid out for self catering, and the wood box was always full. The hot tub was so private, as was the entire sundeck, and the view was spectacular. We will be going back; we have decided to make Point No Point Resort "our" spot from now on.

The property is gorgeous, with trail system leading to different beaches. The restaurant is top tier serving seasonal dishes. We stayed in Suite 8, well appointed kitchen, cozy wood fireplace, large bathroom with separate shower and huge soaker tub, add in a private patio hot tub with stunning ocean views - it was absolutely perfect! Absolutely will be back! Looking forward to see what the cabins have to offer.

Been here before a couple times. Beautiful spot, great accommodations. I give it lower stars, however, because they need to move into this decade and get online booking going! Trying to find dates, matched to desired cabins, with someone over the phone is the epitome of frustrating! I just don't have the time so, sadly, will be looking somewhere else.

Wonderful, cozy spot with incredible ocean views from your own private deck complete with a hot tub. Fantastic service and the staff go out of their way to make you feel like your just at your own cabin, yet you have all the resort amenities including beautiful private beach access and trails at your disposal.

Last minute needed a hotel and found secret rock, so happy to stumble on this resort. Called to book and was meet with great customer service and easy booking. Stayed in a deluxe cabin and found a nicely updated exterior and fresh furniture inside, is buggy at night which is to be expected when staying in nature. Was able to us the pool and kayaks after check out which was lovely. Went for a nice stroll after sunset to check out the boardwalk which was fully light with beautiful string lights. Had a great ocean front breakfast at the restaurant which also had amazing friendly service. Will definitely come back and stay longer

We stayed in one of the tent houses for one night our first time. It was a wonderful experience, nestled up in the trees overlooking the water. We enjoyed it so much we decided to come back. This time we stayed in a cabin. It looked newly renovated and modern. As soon as we stepped out of the car, we were hit with the smell of raw sewage. It wasn't overwhelmingly strong. Yet we hurried ourselves to the cabin. Unfortunately, the smell was also inside and really bad in the washroom. We had planned to spend our two night stay relaxing in the cabin this time but with the odour, we couldn't stand it for more than an hour. It was a literal nightmare sleeping there. The bed and pillows were amazing and it would have been a restful night's sleep if it weren't for the permeating odour. They have us a 20% discount but after spending over 700$ to stay there, I'm not sure it was worth it.

Eric T on TripAdvisor perfectly described our own experience this past weekend. We were fortunate to be moved out of the cabin facing the huge plastic wedding tent instead of the advertised ocean view (first person at the desk asked me what was wrong with it 🤯 when I asked to be moved), but otherwise, everything he wrote perfectly matched what we experienced. Beautiful location and facilities with great potential, but very poorly managed. Definitely not what I would expect from a 4-star hotel in term of cleanliness and tidiness. In our cabin, I had to wipe some red-brown marks off the wall near the bed with tissue paper 🤢. The wine glasses were filthy, there were squished dead insects on the walls and ceiling, spider webs inside and outside the cabin, and the windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. If you’re charging a premium for ocean views, the very least is to keep the windows clean. The spa smelled like old sheets, definitely not offering a luxurious experience advertised on the website. The restaurant was also very far from what is advertised. Servers were kind and attentive, but the food was not fine dining or exquisite in any sense. My coffee cup came dirty, and both the salmon and the steak were very salty and overcooked. The one positive was a comfortable bed, but now after reading recent reviews mentioning bed bugs, I’m now worried about what might happen next. Unless something changes drastically, I would not recommend staying here. It seems like most of the effort goes into marketing instead of the actual experience and value offered to the guests.

We stayed here for one night in a premium tent. All in, we had a good experience. Some of the recent reviews made me nervous, but did not reflect our actual experience. Yes, parts of the resort are a bit dated, but the location is beautiful and the place is maintained well. The tent was spacious and comfortable with gorgeous views. Any small issues we had, like our door lock not working, were addressed immediately by the staff. We would come back here again and stay in the same tent style room for sure! As noted the restaurant is not managed by the resort. The food was good but not outstanding and the service was fine, everyone was friendly and polite. Also I was worried about the noise carrying from tent to tent and that was not an issue at all. It was a quiet little getaway not too far away.

The Rockwater is a nice resort, charming location with beautiful views. The food was excellent and restaurant staff prompt and friendly. Thank-you Hanna for your hospitality and charming service and making our dinner a memorable one. Booking a massage at the spa was another great way to start the day. We highly recommend booking a treatment with Kan. Her kind and gentle courteousness and overall professionalism was just the touch we needed to capture our stay. Well worth the visit. Thank-you Rockwater!
Steve L — Google review
Beautiful location but the cabin we stayed in was somewhat lacking. No room service for the 3 days we were there. Our entrance door would not lock due to poor alignment. The restaurant was nice and the staff were friendly but the food wasn’t great for the prices they charge. We were there at the beginning of the shoulder season so perhaps they were in maintenance mode.

What an amazing place to go for relaxation and recharge! The natural beauty of the surrounding area is so special (this should never be a secret but I’m happy if it is!) and the team at Rockwater have done an amazing job at allowing the beauty of the location to shine! From private and cozy yurt style tents in the forest, to a clean and welcoming main resort building, to a fantastic restaurant on-site serving excellent brunch overlooking the pool and ocean views! This place has it all, you really never want to leave! We had an incredible time Kayaking (for the first time) taking in the ocean life up close and felt very safe using the resort kayaks in amongst the calm water of surrounding coves (this is a must do while here!). Mornings here are wonderful -sitting on your personal balcony (or on the dock or perched above the cove in Adirondack Chairs) with superb in-room Nespresso Coffee taking in the views and ocean air. Staff were above & beyond friendly and welcoming, very helpful and eager to make recommendations for activities nearby or in Sechelt. Still dreaming about our time there and can’t wait to go back to Rockwater Secret Cove Resort!

We stayed here 3 years ago and we loved it so much we came back. What a disappointment the tents were this time. All run down - safety pins to hold up blinds - stains on outdoor cushions- chairs - hole in toilet door - mold - tub with black marks. Such no minor things to fix. And for the price we paid - even with amazing views - not worth it. We thought about the new cabins but when we went over there - the smell of sewage was disgusting. Too bad.

Cannot say enough good things about this hotel! Immediately greeted by a wonderful view when you enter the lobby. To begin the staff was attentive and courteous. The amenities were clean and well kept. The room was large and the beds may have been the most comfortable I’ve stayed in. Would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family and easily rate this stay a 10/10. Well done staff and team! We look forward to our next stay at Bear Mountain. The food at the lobby restaurant was also very impressive and the brunch options were a great way to start the day.

We stayed at Fairways. The hotel itself was vey nice, however they do not have a pool/hot tub. You can use the facility next door for a mere $47.50 per day (that is not a typo). The area is very peaceful. Other than outdoor activity there is not much else to do. There is one bar/restaurant so your dining options are limited. There is no convenience store or the like to purchase snacks etc.
Steve C — Google review
What a beautiful resort! Very quiet and peaceful. The restaurant was spectacular but didn’t open until 7pm so it made it a rush to get to our events at 8am. A little convoluted to get to the resort, but easier after driving there a few times.

We booked multiple rooms through my family members (last names all Kent and Irons) and stayed here for two nights with a very large group in a number of suite units and hotel rooms. I tried leaving a review and got a smug response from management and my review being removed because they claimed I never stayed here.

Stayed here for 2 nights, in a beautiful suite. The first night I stayed was before my wedding- and the second night was the night of my wedding with my wife. We had asked for the room to be cleaned before we returned after our wedding (i had my bridesmaids and makeup artists there with me prior to the wedding getting ready) we came back to nothing cleaned at all- the only thing that was made was the bed. When we spoke with staff about this they said "we only offer a light cleaning which is mostly just making the bed" So unfortunately we came back on our wedding night to cups everywhere and crumbs on the floor. If you have an expectation for your room to be cleaned (like every other hotel) don't stay here! No apology from the manager. Considering we payed over $1000 that is unacceptable.

Fantastic staff. Property is well maintained. We're currently in the middle of a six day stay with our 1 year old son. Staff has gone out of their way to accommodate us. Would recommend to anyone who's looking for a mountain escape with the desire for modern amenities.

Wow! I was thrilled with my stay at the Westin. Staff was amazing and goes above and beyond. My daughter booked a two night stay in July 2025 for her wedding! First night was for her bridal party and second was to be for herself and partner. Walked into to a beautiful room with a view! We had people in snd out throughout the morning and early afternoon of the wedding day for hair, makeup and photos. When the couple got back to their suite that night the room was not made up To what was expected and asked for on several occasions when the room was booked and when we checked in the night before. It was told that she wanted the room cleaned and beds made. Well, bed was made and fresh towels were given. The rest of the room was still the way we left it! It wasn’t a disaster but definitely was asked to taken care of as per her request many times. For the price of this room per night we should have had someone come in and turn our beds down … but the standard certainly wasn’t there! This is extremely disappointing on soo many levels! This was to be a special memory for the bridal couple that was tarnished! This was a gift from her 91 year old grandmother from NS that couldn’t attend. We gave you a chance to make it right and you failed! We were not asking for a refined but for compensation and you failed You disappointed a bridal Couple on their wedding night! This maybe petty to some , but good money was spent, it was a gift.. requests were asked and not followed through! If this is not your practice to clean your rooms as such after several requests than that should have been stated by your staff… and it was not! I was present when the request for the room was given and was told Absolutely no problem!! Train your staff better when asked simple questions ! You can still make this right!

Conference & Convention Centers
The Vancouver Island Conference Centre (VICC) in June 2022 was the perfect venue for a wedding. With its smaller spaces, it accommodated 80 guests and provided ample natural light for the ceremony, photos, and reception. The catering and bar service were outstanding, offering food options for all age groups including vegan guests. The planning process with VICC staff leading up to the wedding was flawless. Overall, VICC proved to be an incredible conference center with excellent staff and delicious food.
Location was easy to get to from either ferry terminal. Venue was great, parking was cheap and the catering was delicious. Staff was accommodating. Best conference I have ever attended and the venue was a huge contributor to that. Great job Vancouver Island Convention Centre! P.S the Coffee by Birch Bark was delightful and the granola bars and pesto hummus 😋 👌 were yummy!

I was doing video tonight and was assured a board feed for the livestream and we kept working through the low volume issue to no avail. The sound tech said they sent all the digital boards to Victoria for an event down there leaving him with two old boards to daisychain together. Unfortunately I got no sound or distorted sound. My bush fix was to throw my mic on the podium but there were three mics so each speaker and performer wasn't always near the mic. I find this unacceptable level of professionalism. If there is an event and you took the booking and can't provide the services it makes the end user experience one that people will remember. Sadly the viewers didn't understand it was two parties one providing sound and one doing video. The audio totally was a let down. My brand gets hurt every time this happens which thankfully isn't very often.

The Beach Club Resort - Bellstar Hotels & Resorts offers relaxed rooms and suites with private balconies, a heated indoor pool, and a restaurant with a patio. It is located along a 22-km stretch of sandy beach where visitors can enjoy searching for marine treasures like sand dollars, starfish, and crabs. The resort boasts endless coastline views from rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows.
We just returned from a 5-day stay at The Beach Club Resort celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary, and it was perfect. The rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed, and very comfortable. We especially appreciated the air conditioning during the hot days and the excellent soundproofing, which kept things peaceful even with a festival happening on the beach. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful every time throughout our stay, and the food was excellent—room service was a treat, especially with the stunning oceanfront views. The boardwalk right outside the resort makes for a beautiful stroll, and the ability to rent chairs and umbrellas made our beach time even better. Highly recommended—The Beach Club Resort made our anniversary unforgettable, and we will absolutely be back!

Our stay at The Beach Club Resort was absolutely wonderful. The location right on the ocean is unbeatable — waking up to the view of the beach each morning felt like a dream. The rooms are spotless, spacious, and very comfortable, and the staff always go above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The restaurant is excellent, and the whole resort has such a relaxing atmosphere. We try to stay at least once a year, and each visit reminds us why we keep coming back.

Really wanted to love this spot but honestly it was just a mediocre stay. The indoor pool is so small and the room has zero air circulation. It was hotter inside than outside and way too much chlorine in the pool with bath water temperature. The area of the hotel our room stunk every night as it was above the kitchen. Our safe batteries were dead and called twice to have them replaced but nothing came of it. Our room smelt like fried foods. No option to change rooms which sucked. Air conditioning was crazy loud. Woke us up every time it turned on. Food always took a long time to come out at the restaurant and service was mediocre at best. Upon checkout I voiced these complaints and nothing was provided to satisfy us. Wont come back here again unfortunately.

This was our first stay at Beach Club and the staff at the front desk were so friendly, warm, and engaging. The location is beautiful and overall it was a great value. They have really set themselves apart with the amenities they provide. Well done!

The staff at this resort are amazing. But I booked this current stay when we were here last year. A one bedroom ocean front 1 bedroom room suite. I’ve looked forward to this ALL year. And when we opened the door to our room the view was amazing…but not as good as our last stay, and the room and patio were visibly smaller. Our room was recessed and there was another building obstructing our view. The front desk acknowledged there was room “differences”, but essentially nothing they could do as the hotel was sold out. Going to be a while before I recommend or stay here again.

Wow! We REALLY loved our stay at Beach Club Resort in Parksville! The room was so comfortable and we enjoyed having the the mini kitchen as well! We had a partial ocean view which was so beautiful! The staff were friendly and we also enjoyed the restaurant and terrace a few times! Food and service were great! We will be back for sure!

Absolutely gorgeous view right on the water in our one bedroom suite. King bed and a small sofa bed for four people. Big, well stocked kitchen and two bathrooms. Hotel amenities included kayaks, but beware that the double is very heavy to drag down to the water. Life jackets were provided, too! Very nice and would return. Thank you, Beach Club!

The Best Western Plus Carlton Plaza Hotel offers comfortable and relaxed rooms and suites with free Wi-Fi. The property features a restaurant, lounge, and coin-operated laundry facilities. The hotel is conveniently located near various amenities such as a bakery, restaurants, and a supermarket. While the rooms are on the smaller side, they are well-appointed and recently updated. Guests can enjoy breakfast at the on-site restaurant or visit nearby dining options.
We arrived before the official check-in time and we left our bags at the front desk while we went out for brunch and explored the town. When we returned and checked in, our bags were already waiting for us in the room. The room was clean and spacious enough for two people. Everything was easy and hassle-free. There's a complimentary coffee machine on the first floor, and the harbor is just a short, convenient walk away

This is a great hotel. I've stayed all over Victoria in the past and I find this downtown location to be really convenient. The staff is great and friendly, and service was wonderful. Valet parking was very convenient and to be honest was excellent value compared to parking costs at similar hotels in an urban market. Our room was well appointed and the beds were super comfortable. Will definitely be back.

I had such a wonderful experience at the Best Western Carlton Plaza in Victoria! The location is perfect — right in the heart of downtown, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the Inner Harbour. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and welcoming. The front desk team was friendly, professional, and always ready to help with directions or local recommendations. My room was spotless, spacious, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I loved how quiet the hotel was despite being so central. The valet service was quick and efficient, and I appreciated the added convenience.

I recently stayed at the Best Western Crown Plaza in Victoria, and overall, it was a decent experience. The hotel offers spacious and comfortable rooms, which came equipped with a cozy bed and complimentary tea and coffee, definitely a nice touch! The ambiance was quiet, allowing for restful nights, and its location is convenient, with easy access to main attractions, supermarkets, restaurants, and bars. However, there were a few drawbacks. The air conditioning unit was a bit outdated and noisy, although it functioned well enough. Additionally, I found the bathroom to be a good size; however, every time I took a shower, the floor ended up a bit flooded, which was inconvenient. One aspect I found disappointing was the cleaning service, as daily cleaning wasn't automatically provided. I had to request it each day, which was less than ideal. In summary, while there were a few issues, my stay was largely enjoyable, and I would consider returning
Ilves — Google review
My wife and I just got home from a stay here for five nights. The rooms are a bit small, but not too bad. There is no microwave in the room, so you have to go to the first floor to a room with a microwave and laundry machines. We mentioned on our first day that we thought the floor in our room may have been overlooked and the front desk brought us a small box of fancy chocolates and apologized. Our room was spotless every day after. The front desk staff are great, very friendly and helpful. The location is close to the waterfront, restaurants, and a mall. Over all, we had a great stay.

We stayed at this resort for three nights in early October and had a lovely experience overall. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with beautiful ocean views. The beds were cozy—though a bit on the soft side—and the bathroom was well-designed, with a roomy shower and plenty of counter space. We also enjoyed the hot breakfast buffet, which offered a good variety of options each morning. The outdoor hot tub had a beautiful view of the ocean, but unfortunately it wasn’t very hot, which was a bit disappointing after a long day of exploring. One note of caution: the first room we were given had a door that wouldn’t lock from the outside. After an eight-hour drive, we were eager to head out for dinner but couldn’t leave the room unsecured. Maintenance wasn’t immediately available, but the front desk handled it quickly and moved us to a different room. Everything was fine after that, but I’d recommend double-checking that your door locks properly upon arrival.

It has been over a year since I have stayed here, but I thought a review was much needed for this hotel. Everything was top notch here, the rooms were very well maintained and the staff was excellent. The breakfast was nice, with a wide variety of food, and we met some great folks while enjoying our morning meal. We had the loft room, which was fantastic, as we had a great view of the ocean, and during down time, my husband watched tv downstairs, and I was able to quietly read away from the noise of the tv. We are planning on coming here again, and am hoping to have the opportunity to stay in the loft suite again.

Great Hotel ,Really good service, lovely beach view of the peace, quiet and nature of Tofino. But don't stay on a Monday night...We had planned to sit outside on the fantastic balcony and watch the sun go down and listen to the surf . But for some strange reason that I cannot understand the attached restaurant (To loud to eat in by the way) were playing live music (very loud) with the windows open from six pm until nine????? We went and complained but were told that the staff could do nothing as it was "The Restaurant" ??? So sad to ruin a great retreat. What were you thinking?

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The place was very nice and very clean. The view stunning! And a beautiful sandy beach. Although I couldn’t swim in it, it was delightful just to walk on shore. They served a complementary continental breakfast, that was excellent, not just muffins and coffee but scrambled egg, sausage, pancakes, all kinds of breads, tea, coffee, juice and yogurts! Plus fresh fruit.

The Best Western Dorchester Hotel is a downtown gem near Nanaimo Harbour, offering stunning views and top-notch service. The rooms are clean, bright, and quiet with comfortable beds and immaculate bedding. While the bathrooms may show some age, they are well-maintained. The hotel staff is incredibly accommodating and goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. Guests can enjoy the convenience of free parking nearby as well as an on-site European restaurant serving delicious meals at reasonable prices.
If you are coming to Nanaimo, BC stay HERE!!! Besides it being a nice section of the city (it’s hard to find trust us) the views are 20/10 along with a quick two min walk to the harbour. The staff is amazing along with the great customer service…that’s right customer service 👀 it lives at this hotel!! The room was unbelievable, beautiful, views of the harbour, amazing bed, great A/C, quiet. I can’t rave enough… and the MOST amazing restaurant. Not just one but three experiences The View - Seafood, we ate there, highly recommend!! So great, and there is also a burger restaurant, and like a speak easy called Embers - wine and charcuterie restaurant. Easy check in and out, great parking. WE WILL BE BACK

I was blown away by this Best Western. The hotel is located right in the heart of Nanaimo with gorgeous views of the waterfront. You can see sea planes taking off and landing all throughout the day, which is very charming. The room was modern, air conditioned, clean and bed was very comfortable. There is also a lovely patio on the 3rd floor to hang out on, which was nice. The biggest perk is that this hotel was pet friendly, which apparently is hard to find in this area. I do think the parking situation is not ideal, however, the lots were very close and it really wasn’t that big of a deal IMO. That being said, I am a young fully able bodied person, so I could see the parking situation causing unnecessary stress and frustration for others. All in allmy family had a very positive experience.

-The floors were slanted and weird. -The shower made a horrible squealing noise that was so loud and could be heard through out the room, not just in the bathroom. The bathroom was also tiny and the fan was very loud. If we needed the bathroom in the middle of the night it was aweful. The fan turned on with the light. So it was a bright light and a loud fan and everyone in the room can hear it. Oh and the water was either freezing cold or scalding hot. -Parking was out back and not at the building. -They gave us a luggage rack, but after getting off the elevator there were stairs to different levels of 2nd floor so we couldn't actually use it to our room. Not a big deal for us, but it could be for some people. -Our room had a terrible view. We only stayed 1 night but that would be disappointing if you were staying a while. -Most of the outlets were full with tvs and lamps and one that was open didn't work. -Having a separate room with one of the beds (i think it was the pull out sofa) was really nice to put kids to bed. The lights could be off in there and on in the other -The beds were fine and we had 2 pillow choices.

Front desk didn’t offer the same complimentary things as the person in front of us. They were upgraded and offered bottle water and were super friendly. When they got to us they barely smoke a word. Very expensive hotel for what you get. Hall ways have no A/C with windows open at 30’C with a ton of flies. Had to be strategic to open your room door so no flies got in. A/C in room worked well and beds were comfy. Shortened ceilings and small room but that’s fine. No real ammenities at hotel, parking very hard to get a spot and very tight and we were there an hour after check in around 5pm. Location is the saving grace very close to lots of restaurants and coffee shops and views of the harbour. Seagulls are loud can hear them through the window as well as boats and float planes, but as to be expected. Would choose a different hotel next time.

Stopped for one night on the way to Victoria. The location is fantastic. We had a harbour facing suite with great views. The staff gave us an early check in and even texted us to let us know. Mohammad did a great job at the front desk. Parking is two lots and depends on how full the hotel is. Otherwise they will direct you to another a street away on Chapel Street. It’s better to unload on the Church Street side same level as lobby elevators. Parking in front of the hotel in their lot, means carrying luggage up quite a few stairs.

Clean and comfortable rooms in a prime location overlooking the harbour. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating to our late check in. The fitness centre and rooftop relaxation spot are great additions. I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

A wonderfully clean and classy hotel. Front desk personnel are amazing and attentive. Parking is a bit far from the front doors, but it's because the hotel is in a tight location on a busy street. We didn't mind the walk through the Anglican church yard over to a top parking lot. Might be hard for the elderly and handicapped but there is some front parking available. Rooms are clean, spacious, and have great views. Coffee ( Keurig), mini fridge, big TVs, comfy beds, and nice bathrooms with tub. It's a neat old building rather than a new, modern hotel. Classic doors and lighting make for a historic feel to the building. 3 different, connected restaurants on site with very good food and drinks. We'll definitely be back!

Staff was amazing! Rooms were clean and location was central but parking in a nightmare, it fills up by 5 pm and the spots are so tight. No screens on the windows which was odd and there was two ac units in my room, one was a mini split which worked amazing and the other was a portable which had to be vented out the window which meant I had to have my window opened a bit and it was rather loud. I’m not sure about the other rooms but overall the stay was pleasant

The Best Western Plus Inner Harbour is a comfortable hotel with great amenities and a perfect location in Victoria. It offers an outdoor pool, gym, and complimentary breakfast. The rooms come with two queen beds or one-bedroom family suites with a king bed plus sofa bed, and some include kitchenettes. Guests can enjoy the indoor whirlpool, daily continental breakfast, free parking, fenced play area, and coin-operated laundry. The hotel provides warm hospitality and stunning views of the harbor.
Stayed there in May. Was great. Clean, comfortable rooms. Easily walkable to all the major “touristy” things to do. Good rates. One thing myself and my wife HAVE to know, where do you get the pillows from? What are they called (brand, model) we forgot to look before we left. We both loved them!!!

Great location. Beds were comfortable. Rooms are dated but clean. I totally missed that this hotel does NOT have AC. They say with the small fan and leaving your patio open it will keep your room cool at night. Yah wrong! When it’s 32 all day the room doesn’t cool off that much. You leave the patio door open and then you hear all the sea planes landing, boat horns, car noises etc. Possibly a cooler time of the year and the fan would suffice but for us…summer months..we will find a different hotel next trip with AC options thanks.

King suite with kitchenette on 7th floor had a gorgeous view of harbour including Empress Hotel. Room could use a little update but overall it was perfect for what we wanted. There is some construction at the waterfront that is ongoing until 2028 so some noise & view interruptions happen. But watching seaplanes, ferries & adorable little water taxis coming & going was a highlight. Only an outdoor pool; whirlpool was a little small & not too appealing but breakfast was always good & plentiful; staff were pleasant & helpful.

I was a bit hesitant to book here with some of the negative reviews but I personally really enjoyed my stay here! The location is fantastic for walking around downtown. Check in was fast and easy. They have self parking (big plus for me as I hate valet parking) conveniently below the hotel. The gate to get in and out of the parking was a little slow moving but overall it was extremely convenient and there was always space to park. You can access the hotel from the parking garage. The room was definitely older looking but nothing looked dirty or overly worn. You do get a little kitchenette area which was a nice surprise for me! There is also a nice little balcony area off the room. The bed was very comfy. The bathroom overall was very good except the shower head is a bit low - I am 5'11" (180cm) and it was a bit low for me so if you're really tall it may cause issues. As others have noted, there is no AC but if you open all the windows at night it really does cool down nicely. Others also noted that there was quite a bit of noise from surrounding rooms and the outside - this is also true but it wasn't super problematic for me. They were doing some construction out front during my stay so it looks like they are updating things! Lastly, the breakfast was always very well stocked. It was a bit of a tight squeeze and could get quite busy but there was always plenty of food to go around! I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to it to others who want to stay in the heart of Victoria.

The location of this hotel is amazing! A super quick walk to the Parliament Buildings, the Empress, and downtown Victoria as well as Fisherman's Wharf and the Breakwater. Room was a great size with a lovely balcony, beds were comfy and clean and the roomwas equipped with several amenities such as a mini fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, stove, and cutlery! The only thing I will say was I didn't pay as much attention and did not realize that this hotel does NOT have air conditioning! However we were supplied with a strong fan and the balcony door had a screen so we were able to keep cool that way, but if you need AC then this isn't the hotel for you. Overall we had a wonderful experience! Is the hotel and parking pricey? Yes, but it is worth it for the amenities and location to explore all the lovely things Victoria has to offer!

If you are staying here anytime in October 2025 be warned they are jackhammering at the front of the hotel 9am-5pm. It is loud and you can hear it everywhere. Lobby door is closed sometimes and you need to go up and down the ramp to the parking garage which is steep. Otherwise would have enjoyed our stay. Glad we moved to another hotel for the rest of our stay.

Had an amazing stay. Great location. Breakfast included had a large variy. Staff were really friendly. Bed and room were clean and would definitely stay again
Steven T — Google review
All ferries to Victoria were suddenly canceled due to severe weather, and there were no seats available for the later sailings. Despite providing all the evidence and explaining the situation, the hotel refused to issue any refund or even allow a date change without charging a 100% penalty fee. This is absolutely ridiculous and shows a complete lack of understanding or flexibility toward customers facing unavoidable circumstances. I’ve stayed at many hotels, but I’ve never encountered such an unfair and unreasonable policy. Terrible customer service — I’ll never book here again. Travelers, beware!

I had a wonderful experience at Best Western, and a big part of that was thanks to Vijay at the front desk. From the moment I arrived, he was incredibly welcoming, professional, and helpful. He handled the check-in process smoothly and efficiently, and he was always ready to assist with any questions or requests I had during my stay. Vijay's friendly attitude and attention to detail truly made a difference. It’s clear that he cares about guest satisfaction and goes the extra mile to ensure everyone feels comfortable and well taken care of. His excellent customer service reflects very well on the hotel. Thank you, Vijay, for making my stay so pleasant. I’ll definitely be returning, and I hope to see you again next time!

We needed a reasonably priced placed to stay while traveling. Vijay at the front desk was terrific. Went out of his way to make sure we had what we needed, and sent us to our room with a smile. Our room was very clean. There was some road noise, but all in all noise levels were fine. We ate at the attached restaurant for dinner, food was fine, music was kind of loud but they were doing 80’s music video bingo and we won $10 off our meal, so that was cool. We’d stay here again.

I had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Cowichan Valley. The hotel was clean and comfortable, but what really stood out was the excellent service. VIJAY at the service desk was incredibly helpful and friendly. He upgraded my room, giving me extra space, and provided great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. The hotel also has a convenient, good restaurant connected to it, which was a plus. I highly recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay here in August. Rooms were spacious and clean and had all the amenities required for comfort. The complimentary breakfast was fresh and there was plenty of variety. Our checkin/checkout was easy and effortless. Upon our checkin, Vijay at the front desk made sure to explain all the hotel had to offer and let us know about opening and closing times for certain areas. Would recommend if you’re in the area!

Middle Beach Lodge is an elegant, country-themed lodge that offers comfortable accommodations. With its rustic charm and cozy rooms, it provides a tranquil and idyllic setting for couples seeking a romantic getaway. On rainy days, guests can enjoy the warmth of a large stone fireplace while indulging in freshly-baked cookies. Alternatively, they can bask in the sunshine on the outdoor deck, which overlooks the ocean and offers access to a beautiful beach via a set of stairs.
My partner and I loved our stay. The lodge experience was very pleasant with lots of fun people and interesting books around. The breakfast, happy hour and steelhead trout dinner were delicious. The room was cozy and suited to the lodge. The views and fireplaces were beautiful. The service was friendly and professional I would recommend this to anyone going to tofino

The location of the hotel is truly stunning – with a great view of the ocean and plenty of hiking opportunities nearby. Unfortunately, the rooms are very small, extremely noisy (you can even hear the footsteps from the room above), and quite simply furnished. The staff seemed rather unmotivated, and the breakfast was basic, continental, and with little variety. Overall, the hotel mainly scores with its location, while service and comfort leave much to be desired – especially considering the room cost €160 per night.

We had booked two nights to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and had a great time there. They made it special with a very nice personalized note and a sparkling wine, simple things which made us feel so welcome. The highlight of our stay would definitely be the service, all the way from check in to the check out, all the employees were very friendly, especially James at the reception. Not to miss out, the lodge itself is so aesthetic, gives off such a nice vibe and is at such a beautiful location that all pictures come out like paintings. And like James said, we'd definitely be back for our 6th 😄.

We recently stayed at Middle Beach Lodge for $320 CAD per night in the off season, so we arrived with fairly high expectations. The property itself is gorgeous — right on the ocean with walking trails and incredible views. The staff were warm and friendly, and the setting really can’t be beat. That said, the rooms feel quite dated — likely around 40 years old with little sign of renovation. The design shows its age, with things like slatted shutters between the bedroom and bathroom (not ideal for privacy). The patio was lovely but would really benefit from a propane fire pit so guests can enjoy it during cooler evenings. Cleanliness could have been a bit better as we found a little bit of dust and cobwebs, but nothing major and everything else was clean. The bed was quite firm for my preference (my wife found it fine), and I woke up with a stiff back each morning. I asked about a mattress topper but never heard back. While it covered the bases and was well stocked, the breakfast was pretty basic and uninspiring. Service was hit and miss, likely due to being short-staffed. The front desk went unanswered and we didn't get a call back to our voicemail, there was no bartender in the lodge resulting in a small wait for the kitchen staff to come serve us and the dinner option ran out early. To top it all off, check-in started on a stressful note when the staff weren’t sure if they could accept our gift certificate because we booked through Expedia — even though I’d noted it in our booking. They did end up honoring it, but it started the experience off on the wrong foot. Overall, Middle Beach Lodge has a wonderful setting and kind people, but for the price, the rooms need renovations and more effort is needed to make sure they are not short staffed.

Incredibly luxurious; warm, clean and welcoming. The views were incredible, the trails maintained by the Lodge absolutely gorgeous. We had excellent recommendations from a lovely Irish lady on the desk and she then made cookies in the evening! Everyone went out of their way to make this a truly special stay.

This is a fantastic property located between two great beaches. It offers upscale accomadation along with rustic less expensive options. Staff are all friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. There is enough choice to satisfy anyone. The dinner at the property was a set menu. For $60 you get a choice of wine. An amazing salad. Then a perfectly cooked salmon with a miso sauce on rice with mixed vegetables. At the end you get a choice of 2 different desserts that are made fresh by the chef. Service was excellent. Before the supper there was a special wine tasting that show cased a winery from the island. This is where the property loses a star. Guests were invited to the tasting. In no way was there any connection made to the dinner which was booked separately. Once we were sat down at the dinner we were told that the wine we had at the tasting event was our wine drink included in the dinner booking. Disappointing as we did not care for the wine. Tonight we are back for the crab night. The food will be amazing again I am sure. The same wine tasting event takes place before the dinner. We will not participate and lose our choice at dinner. Our choice will be off of the menu as it should be. This was poorly planned with no communication to anyone that dinner was somehow tied to the wine tasting. Middle Beach Lodge is a good property. You will not be disappointed with the accomadation.

Stayed here for a couple of nights on a recent visit to Port Alberni. Easy check in. Friendly staff. Clean comfortable room. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but it seemed busy whenever we walked by. The only negative of our stay was that a youth hockey team was in town and they stayed here. While I’m all for kids having fun, the constant back and forth between rooms well into the night made for some disturbed sleep for us.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights. The hotel is generally good, but it is in need of and update and some architectural modifications. The room I had was on small side and the design was poor. Somebody decided to add some partition wall that was not necessary and made the room looks 30% smaller. Bathroom was clean and well attended daily. The breakfast was not included but the paid breakfast was good for the price. Elevators are slow and old and take a while to arrive even when there is not many people using it. My room didn't have a desk to allow working on my computer. I had to put it on a chest of drawer and work standing that was not comfortable. I'm not sure if this layout is repeated in other rooms. If so, at least in some rooms the hotel must replace the sofa with a desk.

Friday evening check in staff did not seem to know what a premium plus membership entailed and this was frustrating. On the plus side, the Sunday morning front desk staff were wonderful! Our room was clean and well maintained and the cleaning staff were friendly. We enjoyed the immaculately clean hot tub. The lobby coffee machine was a real treat! Thanks so much.

Disappointing experience from start to finish. Despite booking 2 rooms months in advance, one of the room was not ready upon arrival at 4:20 pm, and we were told that we will have to wait an additional 15 minutes. Staff offered to switch rooms, but considering we were traveling with friends and wanted to be close, we declined. Unfortunately, things only got worse. After visiting our friends’ room for the evening, we returned to discover that the air conditioning in our room was not working , making for an extremely uncomfortable night and a terrible sleep experience. Upon checkout, we were met with half-hearted excuses and a token offer of $30 off our stay, which amounted to less than 15% of the room cost , hardly fair compensation for the inconvenience. The manager seemed more agitated and uncomfortable than helpful, despite our calm approach. To make matters worse, the unprofessional attitude extended to our friends, who were not involved in the complaint at all. Overall, this stay fell far below expectations. Poor preparation, faulty amenities, and inadequate customer service left us frustrated and disappointed. Definitely not an experience we’d recommend.

Disappointing first stay at a Best Western. Room was tiny, toilet wobbled, breakfast not included, pool extremely cold, all for a very expensive price. The room felt extremely rundown and worn. Luckily we coslept with our children - if we had needed to use a pack and play, I don't think it would have fit. Nothing nearby/walkable aside from the liquor store.

I had an unfortunate car accident just outside Port Alberni, and the someone suggested that my sister and me to stay at the Best Western Plus. We arrived late in the evening after several hours in West Coast Hospital emergency. Annika greeted us with care and compassion. She made sure we had everything we needed—even hot chocolate and extra blankets for us, as we were still in shock—so our late arrival felt as comfortable as possible. Over the next two days, Mary, Sharon, and Desire were extraordinarily helpful, empathetic, and kind. When I ran into several challenges arranging a car rental, Jackalynn went above and beyond to help. From our first encounter with Annika to the dedication shown by Jackalynn and the rest of the team, every interaction helped turn a stressful situation into one filled with warmth and kindness. It’s something my sister and I will never forget. Thank you.

Great location! We live on the North Island, and had an emergency trip down late at night to the 24 hour vet. I wasn't feeling hopeful we'd find a decent hotel at 2am, and had prepared to sleep in the car. I called and was pleasantly surprised there were a few available. Check in was seamless, the rooms were comfortable and staff were very efficient. We were able to sleep for a few hours before picking up our pet post surgery and doing the 4 hour drive home. Thank you for making a stressful situation a lot easier on us.

We arrived around 130 PM and asked if possible to check in. They asked extra fee for checking in early. Which was outrageous, since the room was ready and we were 1,5 hours b4 theposted check in time not b4 or earlierThis is unacceptable and not right to rip off the customers. I do not know why recently all bestwesterns run by Indians but it seems the culture is changing not only the administration. Hospitality service requires respect the customers and help them, not trying to rip.

If you are booking here for their kitchen, don’t book here then. I think most tourists booking here to cook their own seafood, because not every hotel got kitchen ( with big range hood). Unfortunately, after I checked in, found out they are not allowing customers to cook seafood. New policy which is no where found on any booking websites, even their own Bestwestern.com. Kind disappointing about it. Don’t want anyone else getting same disappointment.

Hotel Rialto is a bright and stylish accommodation in Victoria, Canada. Tucked away from the main tourist area but conveniently close to Inner Harbour, it offers easy access to the city's best dining and entertainment options. The hotel boasts modern rooms with comfortable beds and Italian-inspired decor, featuring Aqua di Palma toiletries. Guests can enjoy discounted breakfast at the on-site cafe and savor tasty Italian cuisine at the restaurant.
Unsure where the bad reviews came from but the hotel staff were nothing but friendly and accommodating for my pet allergy, and even somehow managed to fit a small cot into our two bed room upon request! The room was exceptionally clean, came with free coffee pods, remarkably good cleaning service during the day (even hilariously, folding my clothing on the bed because I didn't realize they changed the beds daily unless requested otherwise), and had a small "grab as you want" fruit selection in the morning along with ready to go water bottles. Would absolutely stay at this place again!

Jin helped us book a superior king room with a view of the downtown core. The room is modern and well set up with all standard amenities plus l'occitane toiletries, and complimentary cookies. I've never even seen heated floors in a hotel, but the recently renovated bathroom did not disappoint. Colton was very helpful in checking in and ensuring the room had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.

Stayed over the last few days - lovely spot. Room was very comfortable and very clean. Bed was super comfortable. Staff was great, bar was lovely, drinks were amazing! Heated floor in the bathroom was really appreciated on the chilly misty days. Hotel is in a great walkable location to downtown - really enjoyed that. Coffee and Tea downstairs in grab and go style with fresh fruit in the morning is appreciated as well.

The room was quite small, but well kept and clean with the basic amenities that anyone would need. Good for what we needed for the short stay. Lounge and restaurant are well run with really good drink and food options, service was on point and friendly. Would have given 5 stars, but the vacant building roof top right next door has become a nesting area / home for multiple Seagulls. Unlike most birds, they DO NOT sleep when the sun goes down. The two nights in the 4th floor room were basically sleepless due to the relentless squawking and squealing throughout the entire night. Would be a good idea to look at some bird spikes or other harmless deterent to make the nights more peaceful for the multiple rooms facing that roof top. Other than that, decent well located location for a stay in Victoria.

I just had a 4 night stay on a girl's trip with my best friend. We couldn't have asked for a better experience with Hotel Rialto. Our reservation was made through a 3rd party which can sometimes cause issues, but check in and check out were seamless. Arlene was absolutely amazing! What a gem of a front desk host - friendly, welcoming, funny and warm. We really enjoyed our interactions with her. She graciously accommodated my request for having a fan sent to the room. Thank-you to your housekeeping department for giving that up for 4 days. Our room was really nice. The beds are so comfortable. We slept very very well. The front desk agent, on the night before departure, helped us with a taxi reservation for very early the next morning which was appreciated. Victoria is a beautiful city and we enjoyed our time there so much ~ everything about Hotel Rialto only made this trip so much more enjoyable for us. Thank you!

Our third-floor room overlooked City Hall across Pandora. Large fridge, desk, dresser, armoire - quite spacious. The Lavazza machine was a nice touch and could deliver hot water, but wasn't a fan of the plastic espresso capsules. L'Occitane products were great, and appreciated that they weren't single-use. Carpet could have been a bit cleaner, and there were a few minor maintenance issues in the bathroom that should be addressed. Nice touch to have coffee/tea and fruit available each morning in the lobby, as well as filtered water on demand. Much appreciated! On arrival we were able to pull into the loading area on Pandora (one-way) and unload, before moving to the hotel's secure garage in a separate building on the other side of Douglas a half block away. It was fairly quick and painless, and that's what you get for a historic downtown hotel. The self-park option was just over $26.

One of the worst stays. The rooms are small even though it says superior in the hotel confirmation. The bathrooms have standing showers. I don’t understand that concept and no chargers worked in the room. I wish I had booked elsewhere and saved my money. I would not recommend to anyone.

I’ve really enjoyed my stays here (just 1 night this year but several nights 3 years ago). Rooms are very spacious & comfortable, and the staff are lovely to work with. Highly recommend!

Stay here overnight. The property is well-kept, the staff was excellent and the room was very clean. We appreciated their attention to detail but we had one small issue, the pillows were hard as a rock. Kinda strange given how nice everything else was. I would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for two wonderful stays at each end of our latest visit to Vancouver Island. Christian, Prescilla, Karen and the rest of the team made us very welcome. Perfect for exploring lovely downtown Sidney. Recommended!

Suitable room for a stay near airport. Room was clean, breakfast did the job, front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Sidney was charming-hotel is a short walk to waterfront. Would stay again if needing to be close to airport.

Alex at the front desk was great! Had an issue with the AC in my room but she got me a new room right away and apologized profusely. I enjoyed the fruit and lemon water in the lobby.

Our experience was wonderful from start to finish — from the front office to the room, breakfast, and everything in between. Nikolay and Pricilla truly made our stay exceptional. A special thank you to Nikolay for going above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable throughout our visit. We truly appreciated the warm hospitality and will definitely be coming back again!

We've been staying at this hotel for over a week while caring for a loved one at the Saanichton Peninsula Hospital and the staff has been very kind, understanding and accommodating of our needs. We WL never forget the kindness provided. Thank you!

We had a very disappointing experience at this Best Western. When we checked in, the room was in unacceptable condition. There was blood and stains on the walls, garbage behind furniture, weird long winged flys and a dirty bathroom vanity. It was obvious the room had not been properly cleaned. There was a staff member on duty, but after seeing how unhelpful he was when we asked for help with the broken TV, we didn’t even bother reporting the rest of the issues to him. He clearly didn’t care and wasn’t capable of resolving anything. We followed up with Best Western afterward and were again met with a complete lack of empathy or responsibility. What they did do was read off a very obvious script to rectify it with a $25 credit (room was $370). We weren’t asking for a refund. We were simply hoping Best Western would make this right with a one night credit or some form of acknowledgment. Instead, we were ignored. This experience showed us that cleanliness and basic customer service are not priorities at this location or with Best Western in general. We would not recommend this hotel. And yes, they were provided photos of the room. EDIT: - photos were sent to best western corporate upon request & has been confirmed to have been attached to the ticket. Emerald Isle has also been sent them again as per BW customer relations lead - no one from Emerald Isle has ever tried to contact me and I’ve never declined to speak with the general manager - Emerald Isle claims they should’ve been given opportunity to clean our room (we checked in and 1700 with kids after a travel day ) & is taking no accountability and putting blame on the customer for a room that should’ve already been cleaned. The staff on duty was unable to troubleshoot our broken TV — what is he going to do about a dirty room at 1800?

Duffin Cove Oceanfront Lodging in Tofino offers a laid-back retreat with waterfront cabins and suites, providing casual and rustic accommodations. The property features a private rocky cove, making it an ideal place for a peaceful getaway close to the town center and Chesterman Beach. Guests can enjoy comfortable cottages with fully equipped kitchens, private balconies, and coastal views. The resort has received excellent ratings for its location, cleanliness, and overall experience.
We stayed in a premium king suit for three nights this July and loved our stay. The room was sparkling clean, with nice amenities, and the view from the patio was stunning! There was even a little welcome package for our pup that included a locally made vegan treat and a complimentary poop bag dispenser (iykyk) :) Staff was warm and welcoming and easy to contact. If you are surfing there wasn’t a designated spot in the room for gear, but we utilized the patio and shower with no issues. Walking distance to everything downtown, and tucked away in a quiet corner at night. Amazing value for the price point, we will absolutely be staying again :)

I had a wonderful experience staying at this charming boutique hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome with their warm hospitality and attentive service. Every interaction was friendly, professional, and made me feel right at home. One of the highlights of my stay was the view from my room—it was absolutely breathtaking! Waking up to such a stunning view each morning was truly special and added so much to the overall experience. The room itself was beautifully designed, clean, and very comfortable. You can tell that a lot of care and thought has gone into every detail of the guest experience. Thank you to the entire team for making my stay so memorable. I would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and personalized stay with exceptional views.

We had a really nice stay at Duffin Cove and hope to come back to this beautiful place! The view is just amazing (great sunset), the rooms are really nice (great with the coffee machine) and the location is super central but quiet. Staff is so friendly/helpful and parking is in front of the building. Minor things we had wished for are more hangers in the bathroom and a sunbed on the big balcony. We were lucky with the weather, in case it is cold and you’re not able to use the balcony - the rooms might be a little small.

We had an amazing stay at Duffin Cove Oceanfront Lodging. From the moment we arrived, the service was excellent. Dia at the front desk really stood out—he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. He took the time to check the system thoroughly and was able to find us a room that was just right for us. His friendly attitude and helpfulness made the check-in process smooth and stress-free, which set the tone for the rest of our visit. The room itself was wonderful. The oceanfront view was absolutely stunning—we could have spent hours just sitting and watching the waves. It was so peaceful and quiet, with no noise to disturb us, which made it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The atmosphere felt private and calm, yet still close enough to everything we wanted to see and do in Tofino. Overall, Duffin Cove exceeded our expectations. The combination of the breathtaking views, the quiet and relaxing environment, and the excellent service—especially from Dia at the front desk—made our stay memorable. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, tranquil getaway, and we’re already looking forward to coming back.

Soooo amazing! At check in, we were given all the information for touring, food, and how to get to our room. The rooms are small but cozy and the deck more then makes up for any lack. Room cleaning is upon request. If needing anything for the room, needs to be during working hours as the front desk is not 24HR. The staff is incredibly friendly, easy to work with. Everything in town is in walking distance. The whole feel is like being out at a cottage in the woods, super quiet, the sound of the waves is gentle, not overwhelming (I have some sensory issues). Top 5 favorite places I've been.

"Duffin Cove Resort" is a name I can only assume was chosen by a visionary who believes the word "resort" means "a collection of small, non-soundproofed sheds charging premium hotel rates." Let me set the scene: We paid top dollar for what is, generously speaking, a motel experience—if that motel were committed to a strict, minimalist aesthetic that eliminated essentials like air conditioning and staff after 6 PM. The "amenities" include being left entirely to your own devices, ample opportunity to self-reflect in a tiny room. But truly, the crowning jewel of Duffin Cove is the acoustic transparency. Forget sound proofing; the walls here offer sound enhancement. We didn't just hear our neighbors; we were co-habitating. We became involuntary audience members to an hour-long, high-fidelity, and extremely energetic "adult wrestling" performance we affectionately titled, "The Cove After Dark: Unscripted." It was a truly immersive experience—so loud and clear, I believe I can now accurately describe the plot, the tempo changes, and the grand finale. It was arguably the most visceral and detailed auditory experience of my entire trip. If your ideal vacation involves spending hotel prices to sleep in a box that functions as a giant ear, providing a live feed of your neighbor's most intimate life choices, this is your paradise. Pro-Tip: Bring noise-canceling headphones, or better yet, a director's chair and a bag of popcorn. You've paid for the show; you might as well enjoy the front-row seat.

Beautifully designed and furnished. All the amenities, perfect for two with amazing views of the Sound from your balcony. Has its own private cove with tidepools to explore when the tide is out. Perfectly located just steps to town and immediately across from a small food park. We couldn’t have asked for a better location or room!

Wonderful location! The rooms were clean and felt very luxurious, looking out onto the resort’s private cove. The staff was friendly and very responsive. Only feedback we would give is in regards to hanger space/hooks — with lots of damp towels, swim suits , and many jackets, we would have loved more closet space and/or coat racks. Absolutely recommend!

The resort is conveniently located between the Pacific Rim National Park sections and close to the Clayoquot Biosphere Reserve. Guests can enjoy well-maintained and updated units with kitchenettes and private hot tubs. The property provides easy access to the beach and trails.
One of the top pet-friendly get-aways to date! Pups even got their own welcome package of towels, soft blankets and treats! 🐾🐾 The location is amazing!! Drink in the salty ocean breeze from the sea view hottub, or along one of the MANY rainforest trailheads directly next to the resort. It's quite simply magic here!! 🙌

Be warned! I had a terrible experience staying here. The weekend was nice enough but they made up a bunch of incorrect/additional charges after our stay and tried to get us to pay over $200 in additional fees. It was a long process that took more than 2 months to resolve.

Beautiful cabins blended in the woods, and steps away from a small beach. Stunning sunsets, lots of creatures when the tide is low. We were lucky enough to see a pod or orcas playing in the distance. The cabbins are quiet very comfortable and fully equipped, the locations is great! Nature, trails, kayaking and more. Do not miss the sunset and the night stars!

Parked in public parking at 8:30am to snorkel Terrace Beach at low tide. Was told after I can't camp there (??) by 'Maintenance' from the resort. After, town bylaw stopped by to tell me the same thing and that I had been camped there overnight. Obviously under the direction of the resort. If visitors are treated with such hostility, what's the point of coming to spend time and money there? Edit - Your 'Maintenance' employee said 'dont shoot the messenger' so clearly this situywas initiated by management. You're right, you don't police the public parking but sure did try.

Stayed here in April 2023 and loved it. The cabins are well furnished, cozy, and very clean. We were lucky enough to have an eagle nest above our cabin and got to watch them throughout our stay. Location is great - the beach is just a moment's walk from all of the cabins. We had no problems with check-in or check-out; cabins had everything we needed for a few days' stay. Ucluelet town centre is within walking distance as is the lighthouse and lots of trails. Some cabins are pet friendly which is much appreciated. Parking seemed to be somewhat "first come, first served" which could be a problem for some but didn't bother us. Lots of local wildlife nearby. We loved staying here!

A little disappointing as when we booked an Oceanside room that it was not in fact ocean side. We thought we had we booked a cabin on the ocean with a deck and we got a condo. Normally this wouldn’t have been a big issue but with a newborn it was annoying we couldn’t watch the sunset/rise as we had no deck. The condo itself was pleasant and the beach and trail access is fantastic. Just very disappointed about the company misrepresenting their property and using word play

Beautiful! We booked our trip for Storm Season. Our cabin was perfect, 5 steps from the ocean and everything was fully equipped for a great vacation. Super cozy and romantic. We had the “Ocean pearl” private cabin on the ocean and we were very happy ! Hiking close by, beaches and food! 100% recommend this place and will be booking again! Ps: we also bought live crab and the cabin had the crab pots and crackers for the meal ! Loved it !

Nestled on the Sunshine Coast, the Painted Boat Resort Spa & Marina offers modern suites equipped with kitchens and fireplaces. The resort features a waterside restaurant, marina, and spa for a luxurious stay. Guests can enjoy stunning lake views from their own luxury apartments, complete with full kitchens and BBQ machines. The resort also boasts a pool and ample open space for kids to play.
We as a family had great time. One of the best place in Sunshine Coast. Very calm and quiet place with beautiful views of the Bay and surrounded by greenery. Pool and hot tub was great place to relax after a day long picnic and hiking. Wish restaurant opens everyday on week— good food. The last day we had an unexpected call from the admin about noise at 8.00pm. We respect other families there too but to complain about noise at 8pm was disturbing. We are well travelled and know rules of hotel/ resorts. I wish the travellers underneath us had a little more sense and had respect for others. Mind you they were travelling with two small children. I realize admin has to do their job and they very politely said that floors are thin and just take it easy. Other note- we took a harbour tour with Slocat — Christian as guide(owner). Highly recommend. Also having dinner or a drink at The Hopper with breathtaking views and sunset is amazing. It’s just 5 minutes away from resort. Will return!!!!!

WOW – what an incredible experience! Painted Boat Resort exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything was spotless, peaceful, and so beautifully maintained. Our villa was absolutely stunning — two bedrooms and a loft, spacious yet cozy, and designed for pure comfort. The gourmet kitchen was a dream to cook in, with everything sparkling clean and thoughtfully provided. The tranquility of the surroundings was simply unmatched. After being in the city, I had almost forgotten what fresh air truly feels like — it was refreshing and soul-reviving. The peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind, recharge, and reconnect with nature (and yourself!). On top of that, the staff were genuinely warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. I honestly didn’t want to leave — this is the kind of place you remember long after your stay. If you’re looking for relaxation, beauty, and a true escape, Painted Boat Resort is absolutely the place to be.

This review is about the Spa specifically. We did not stay at the resort. My mom and I share a birthday and we had booked a spa service for each of us, a massage and facial respectively on our birthday at the Painted Boat spa. When we arrived at 10:00am to enjoy the hot tub before our appointments we were informed that the woman who was to do my facial had called in sick and that while they had tried to call in other staff, they were unable to fill the spot and my facial would be cancelled for the day. While disappointing, I understood these things sometimes can’t be helped and we were informed that they would give me a better rate on a replacement service. Upon leaving her treatment, my mom chatted with the spa staff and manager about future compensation and we were offered 10% off a future treatment. The Painted Boat spa offers 10% off birthday treatments already so this was not more that we were already receiving. My mom requested a 50% discount and was told that that was not possible as it was more than even the staff received. They told my mom they would chat with the staff and get back to us soon with more information on a discounted service. We still had not heard from them 4 days later so my mom called to check in and they had no new information and informed her they would be in touch. It’s now been a full week and we have not heard anything from them. I have gone ahead and booked a service with another provider and feel deeply disappointed in this level of customer service and how what was meant to be a fun mother / daughter birthday celebration has now left us feeling upset, disrespected, and ignored. While the initial cancellation was not preventable, leaving us hanging for a week with no information or offer to remedy and repair a ruined birthday celebration was.

Wonderful experience at this resort. The restaurant lagoon is a lovely experience. The place is spacious and a lovely view. Kids loved the pool! A few tiny things can be improved, we needed more toiletries, dishwasher had a funny moldy smell, and the bowls are more like a plate - but just silly inconveniences.

Great place for a romantic get away or family vacation. Refined restaurant with a view on site. Easy access to resort spa, infinity pool/hot tubs along with boating/kayaking/SUP rentals. Units come with fully equipped kitchen, airy living room and bedrooms spaces. Highly recommend requesting the harbour view to take in the sunrise and sunsets. Remote location that has grocery store, liquor store and village restaurants within walking distance. Farmers markets are within driving distance to communities within close proximity. A wonderful escape into nature at its finest.

Stayed for a good bit in one of the Malaspina units, a high ceilinged 2 bedroom unit with a balcony facing the Harbour, complete with loft with its own balcony. Being there for work, I used it as home rather than resort, I didn't go near the pool, tub or gym. The unit is comfortably upscale, with everything you need - washer, dryer, dishwasher, large stove and fridge, microwave, blender, copious dishes... you name it. A very relaxing and serene setting, with the added luxury of underfloor heating warming the soles of your feet as you shave. A few little gripes. The place is a bit rough around the edges: bathroom door that doesn't stay open on its own. Sink and bath plugs that don't stay closed. A non-jetted bathtub that's triangular, hard to fit into and is a huge waste of water. Tap water tastes woody but luckily I packed my Brita jug. Would recommend.
John — Google review
Beautiful property and we had a beautiful view of the harbour. The villas are very clean, modern and well appointed. I'm not sure if all the villas have the same floor plan, but ours was a two bedroom and it was very big. It's essentially a two bedroom apartment. At this price point though, I'd think that's a minimum expectation. Ours did not disappoint...much. It's just a few minutes from shopping in Madeira Park, where you'll find Japanese and Mexican cuisine and a food truck. There's a coffee shop in town called Java Docks. The coffee is pretty good, but I would not recommend the food there. Maximum price point and minimum effort and quality. There's an IGA and a government liquor store right there too. Just a few caveats for the resort though, if you find any of these things important. The restaurant on the property is closed on Sundays and Mondays. We didn't think to ask or look that up. That was disappointing, as our entire stay was a Sunday and a Monday. The villas are NOT air conditioned. There are ceiling fans and they have extra fans available upon request. It gets hot and humid here in August. We found it bearable, but AC would've been nice. There is NO ice machine here. Villas have full size fridges though, so you can make your own. You may be able to ask for extra ice cube trays, but we didn't need to. IGA sells bags of ice as well. The pool closes at 9 pm. Most places I've been to, the pools close at 10. A minor disappointment, but certainly not a deal breaker. Unless there are extreme circumstances, they do not do late checkouts. Checkout is a firm 11:00.

I only went to the Painted Boat to use the Serenity Garden, and I highly recommend it. It was worth it for the hot tub waterfall alone! The pressure from the waterfall provides a great massage, which helped to relax my shoulders as it fell on them, and on my back. There is also a sauna, and a cool pool that I enjoyed floating in. The cool and warm beverages are also a nice addition, and good for re-hydrating.

Just a short stroll from the ferry and local shops, it offers easy access to everything you need without the hassle of a car.
The hotel staff are super helpful, friendly and accommodating and quick to respond! The villa was very clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the ocean. I found it to be very quiet and peaceful, starting with the cute little stroll through their serene gardens to the villas. It is my favorite place to stay every time I come to Galiano… well, my only place, I book my Galiano trips around availability of this hotel :). I bring my car but you definitely don’t need to if you stay here! It’s in a convenient location and they offer smart car rentals. There are also a number of public beach access points within walking (and even more if biking) distance.

Went to Galiano Island for a day trip and ended up staying here, impromptu. The location of this inn is unbeatable, right off the ferry terminal. I HAVE to mention the front desk staff next - Brian and Mia - they were truly amazing. They gave us a good price for our unplanned stay - on both the room and the smart car we also rented from the inn. The room had exceptional views and was really beautiful! The private beach is exquisite. We had the best time staying here and felt truly welcomed. All our requests were always met with a smile and I am going nowhere else when I go back to the island. They have 2 really great restaurants in the inn and a spa, which I look forward to trying next time.

Had an amazing vacation with my sister for her birthday. The Inn was accomodating with every reques, friendly and helpful. We were in a room with 2 Queen beds with a view of Sturdies Bay. I wondered whether the ferry traffic would be a bother but it wasn't at all. The staff at the Inn were wonderfully friendly from the moment we checked in with Brian to the lovely ladies who were there yesterday everyone had a smile. We used the hot tub both nights we were there and the first night was good but not hot enough. We let the staff know and they were on it. Our second night in the hot tub was roasty toasty. Our room was a good size. It was very quiet this time of year so that's another plus. Continental breakfast in the morning was much nicer than the usual fruit and yogurt. We had oatmeal with compote from the restaurant, big muffins, yogurt, an apple and tea/coffee. I've been to Galiano before so I'm familiar that food on the island can be tricky to find. There's several restaurants including a pub nearby so really you just have to be prepared. The spa there was also amazing. The grounds of the Inn are beautifully laid out with a garden area and fountains. Definitely recommend the Galiano Inn and I'll definitely be back. They also have dog friendly rooms which I didn't take advantage of this time but it'd be a wonderful spot to bring your dog. Leaving at the end you can literally turn right and you're in the BC Ferries parking lot.

Really gorgeous spot. However, the rooms are really hit or miss. We were staying with a large party for a wedding and some of the rooms were nothing but problems. Some had a gasoline smell from their water faucets, broken soap dispensers, fridges not working, and lights being stuck on into the evening to name a few. Staff was helpful but not available 24/7 so left some of us without luck.
Braedan D — Google review
We enjoyed our small wedding there this past May and Autumn could not have been better, she and her team were lovely to deal with. The food and the service was equally as great. The rooms could use a little TLC but overall it was a great experience for us and our guests.
Sandra H — Google review
The inn is conveniently located next to the ferry but that's about it. Staff on site were marginally helpful but you could tell the resort is neglected. Here's a list of everything wrong in our suite: 1. Bar fridge broken 2. Shower soap dispenser broken and leaked until empty 3. Water smelled of gasoline fumes (shower, bathroom, and kitchen sink) 4. Dishwasher broken 5. Pullout bed had dried blood on sheets 6. Master bedroom reeked from dampness of some sort 7. Shower had black mold That room is a health violation begging to be shut down, we were shocked at how many deficiencies our room had. I reached out to staff via text and was promptly ignored. I'm wondering if this may get their attention.

Nice place, but I got very little sleep during our 2 night stay. We were on the lower level. Nice views, hot tub, patio, etc. but young people above us partying all night, thumping, yelling. Unable to sleep due to the noise. I ventured upstairs at 1 am to ask them to please be quiet. We were very stuffed up during our stay. Would highly recommend they remove the vanilla smelling air refreshers they are using in their bathroom. Strong & overwhelming to those sensitive to strong perfume odours. Unfortunately, we would not return or recommend if you want to enjoy peace & a restful stay if there are young people staying for wedding venues, etc. Choose an Air B&B or a VRBO, not this place.

Absolutely fantastic location. Stayed in one of the villas on the ground floor. Awesome to be able to walk out and see the beach and the ferries coming by. Bed was ok - new mattresses are in order I’d say. Could def hear the folks above us in the main area but nothing in the bedroom.

Guests can choose from an array of accommodations, including upscale tents, rustic cabins, and classic trailers like the Airstream Flying Cloud. Each option is designed for comfort and relaxation, often featuring private hot tubs and cozy propane fire pits.
We stayed in the Airstream Flying Cloud for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. The setup, amenities, and surroundings exceeded our expectations. Curtis was incredibly friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back! Oh, there were a couple of deer walked by graciously while we were enjoying the outdoor hot tub. Unique experience :)

We had the coziest stay in Airstream 8, it had everything we needed to relax, have fun, and make meals. It rained most of the weekend, but it would have been easy to enjoy our stay in any weather. We slept great, the bedding is high quality, plush, and warm. The private hot tub was so much fun. We even made use of the outdoor shower for a cold plunge experience. Curtis greeted our shy dog with so much patience and such tasty treats that she quickly warmed up to him and became more confident in this new environment. Can’t wait to come back and would recommend WOODS on Pender to anyone.

I wanted to love this place!! I really liked the simple aesthetic of the motel, great quality bedding and sheets, nice and clean, good non-overhead lighting, the communal hot tub would have been great,... but the mattress was terrible! Saggy and I could feel the springs through it. Terrible 2 nights of sleep. Service was great, and the restaurant is great when it's open. But I couldn't stay again without knowing if they'd updated their mattresses.

This is for the restaurant, though it also looks like a great place to stay. The chef was kind enough to let us in to see the menu while closed, and we had a long and lovely chat about his work. He kindly found a spot in the full weekend schedule for our friends for dinner. We bought his remaining morning pastries, and they were outstanding. We had picked up some treats at the island bakery, and they were but pale shadows compared to his homemade turnovers, gallettes and vegan cookies.

I didn't stay in a room, so there was no rating there. The location was chill, beautiful, full of wild flowers, places to sit in the shade or the sun, and varied types of seating for comfort. I thought it was a bit odd for my order to be served outside when I was standing in front of the counter. The lemon poppy seed loaf was decadently flavoured and lavishly decorated with strawberry icing and coconut shreds. The matcha tea was good but small for what was charged. Thank you for a lovely morning on the deck at Woods :)

*Only a review of the cafe* Woods on Pender is a charming spot for a morning coffee and pastry. The atmosphere is inviting, and the coffee is well-made and reasonably priced, making it a great stop for a caffeine fix. While the pastries are on the pricier side, they’re well worth the splurge—beautifully made and absolutely delicious. If you’re looking for a cozy place to start your day with a treat, this cafe delivers.

After the culmination of some difficult heath issues, my partner and I needed an escape and Woods was exactly what we needed to get away from it all. We stayed in Airstream 3 and I felt relaxed and calm and happy. The hammock facing the woods was a highlight and we put the hot tub to good use as well. The bed was cozy and comfy, the kitchen impressively well equipped and we will definitely be back and definitely recommend this place! Unique and the perfect escape. 10 out of 10!

Nestled along the stunning waterfront, Cox Bay Beach Resort in Tofino is a delightful blend of modern comfort and rustic charm. This inviting resort features polished apartments equipped with kitchens, cozy fireplaces, and complimentary Wi-Fi, ensuring guests feel right at home. Just a short drive from popular spots like Chesterman Beach and Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, it’s an ideal base for nature lovers.
Truly a relaxing and amazing resort - we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. All rooms from the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were well stocked. We were even able to do laundry in our suite. The beach is also steps away and offers one of the most beautiful views in Tofino! Staff were very kind as well and told us about the shared amenities which were cool.

Excellent experience staying at the Cox Bay Beach Resort. Staff were friendly and more than accommodating with misc. questions and requests. It's an ideal location on Cox Beach for surfing and exploring the coast line. The rooms were spacious and had all of the essentials for cooking our own meals during our stay. We will definitely look to stay here again for future trips to Tofino.

Cox Bay Beach Resort was a fantastic experience! It was spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Specially, I loved the sauna and outdoor hot tub for spending time with family. Also it’s perfect location for access to the beach with little kids, surfing was special impressive experience. All the kitchen equipment and amenity was clean and well organized. We loved the thoughtful touches and the beautiful beach right outside our door. I asked to staff for Aloe gel after sunbun we were able to get it right away, thanks for the great service. We will definitely be back!

We had a perfect stay in the 2 bedroom. Suites are spacious and they have excellent amenities. This is not a full service hotel, so if you are looking for daily room cleaning, room service etc. it is not the place for you. If you want extra space with a full kitchen, bbqs, in-suite laundry, I can't recommend enough!
C B — Google review
Such a magnificent place to spend time with family. Steps from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Accessible surfing waves to the whole family, including local lessons, hot tub, & sauna for afterwards, and comfortable rooms as well as lots of amenities. Our dog was in heaven on the beach!

Truly a relaxing and amazing resort! My husband and I stayed here for a couple of days and loved it. The suite was clean, well-stocked, and even had laundry. The beach is just steps away and offers one of the most stunning views in Tofino. It was so convenient to walk straight to the ocean in our wetsuits and come back to relax in the hot tub. The staff were super helpful and quick to provide anything we needed. Everything is very close to this location — shops, restaurants, and all the key spots in Tofino are just a short drive away.

My wife, 2 teenage sons & dog loved the resort for our week stay along with 3 other families. The grounds are gorgeous, give the female gardener a raise, she does amazing work! All front desk staff were extremely helpful. Maddi was a smiling face when we had our room cleaned. We started calling the resort "Shangri La" as it felt like we were in a magical part of the world, SE Asia feeling. We have already reserved for next summer, see you then.

It is a little pricy(we booked for CAD$1000+ for two night stays) but if you pay US$ it is pretty reasonable. It is very clean, the towels, the bed sheets and the bathroom. The location is great too if you want to go surfing at cox bay.

Wya Point Resort offers guests the choice between rustic yurts and contemporary lodges, both equipped with private decks and kitchens. Situated in an oceanfront location, this resort is run by the Yuulu lath First Nations people who have created a sustainable village on Vancouver Island. Accessible via a dirt road off the main highway, Wya Point Campground provides a unique experience for those seeking solitude and beautiful scenery.
We stayed a weekend in their off grid yurt option. And oh my goodness. It was the greatest overnight experience I have ever had! They come equipped with little fireplaces to keep you warm and toasty during the night. It was so awesome not having power. We were able to cook our food using the BBQ they provide. Beds were comfy with lots of extra blankets if needed. Shower and washroom were a quick walk away and clean. There is also access to a private beach which everytime I went to I was literally the only person there. Hosts were super friendly and responsive. Cell service was a bit spotty but I expected to have none. Love that its just tucked away right outside town but felt like you were in the middle of absolutely no where. Will definitely be back for another exceptional experience.

Pictures and videos just don’t do this place justice. I loved everything about this cabin in the woods. I wasn’t able to hear my neighbors. It was so so peaceful and quiet. It had some of the best sunsets that I’ve ever witnessed.
Ryan L — Google review
Not sure why other reviews were so scathing about the road! My car is low and about to fall apart and I made it in just fine by going slow. I guess some people are just city folk and scared to bring their car on to gravel.... also the people complaining about no water just didn’t bother to read their check in emails which warned them. The host (zach?) was so helpful and gracious. The place is GORGEOUS. Beautiful sights and felt private. Basic facilities but they did the trick. I will be returning.
Sam E — Google review
NO POTABLE WATER. This is not advertised on the website anywhere. In fact the map shows water icons. They also require “bare” camping. But do not define it. This is not “OFF GRID” or “RESORT”. It is back country, four wheel drive bottom out your trailer access with limited showers, be prepared to camp backcountry style - don’t bring much food or cooking supplies, all must be stored in bear cashes. It is mildly accessible back country style camping at “resort” prices $149/night camping without water. It is highway robbery. Is this even legal? I will be following up with the province on if/any camping business certificate.

We only stopped in to have breakfast at the Driftwood cafe. Food was excellent as was service. Pricing was as expected for a high end establishment.
Ryan K — Google review
Stayed in a Yurt. No potable water, not a drop. Wash your dishes and shower in yellow water. Generators they provide only work for a single lamp apparently and aren't to be used for anything else such as charging a cellphone? Forgot to turn it off and in the middle of the night we were abruptly awoken by a high-pitched squeal coming from the generator. Got a noise complaint on night 1 (the yurts are painfully close together). First morning, tried to shower but the lights turned off every minute because their generator couldn't produce enough power to sustain all bathrooms and 2 were out of service. Few dishes, no seating, subpar bedding situation. The hosts were awkward. We got in on the off season at ~$140/night, basically for a walled shelter and some futons. High season is INSANE, and I would never spend more than we did for the mediocre experience we had. The view is INCREDIBLE, there's that.
Dan K — Google review
We loved our stay here because we read others reviews. We had a beautiful spot beneath giant trees that was very private and surrounded on all sides by gorgeous banana slugs. The beach is perfect with amazing tide pools and rocks all in a pretty private cove. Helpful: the water you can not cook with or drink or even boil, bring water. You can shower but a young child can’t who might drink it. They have a dish wash station. Some spots are way better than others and you can’t change even if it’s wide open because you reserved already, many spots with a gorgeous beach view remained open for our entire stay, we tried to email the operators but never got a response, they are difficult to get ahold of. The camp hosts are a very nice couple who surf all day so you will see them later, they will deliver fire wood if you text them. The rocky drive in is not that bad at all and takes about seven minutes, the first time you will be slower then you will be fine, it’s not an inconvenience at all.
Seth H — Google review
One of the best places to camp, hands down! We camped at this place for 4 days in early September. Place is about 2.5 hours from Nanaimo and once you’re there, you would still have to drive from the highway onto the parking lot. Once you arrive, all you’ll hear is the sound of the ocean. From the parking lot, it was about a 3 minute walk to our campsite. The price was absolutely reasonable, for $99/night per oceanside campsite. It’s worth it. They have strict guidelines on how you should put away anything that has a scent, just store everything in the food caches, if you follow the rules and be diligent, you should be good. Place is 10minutes away from Ucluelet. A great place for camping!

The Union Club of British Columbia hosted the 2024 Torch Award winners announcement by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Vancouver Island. The event recognized various businesses across different categories, including customer service, community service, and home improvement. Additionally, for a peaceful Vancouver Island retreat, consider Gordons Beach Farm Stay. Nestled on 10 acres of land, it offers serene spots for bird watching and outdoor activities like mountain biking and stand-up paddleboarding.
The bed, sheets, and pillow were exceptional. The rainfall shower was also an amazing experience. It can get HOT and pressure was also great. Lighting and a bit of the finishing could have been better, especially at this price point. Great location not too far from everything.

Wonderful building with lots of beautiful wood trim etc. Truly a place that speaks to the historic quality of the venue and screams “Old rich men’s club”. Very similar to the Rideau Club in Ottawa. Played snooker on beautiful table. A room of snooker tables. An amazing library and a lovely dining room. Hardly anyone there. Not sure of its future as the cost of joining is prohibitive for most people and I think a bit intimidating for young people. Had dinner. I was a little disappointed with menu choices and although it was tasty I would not say it was even close to 5 star dining. I had the lamb which was served on skewers but the meat had been Flattened. The crème brûlée was a pudding served on a plate with a thin slice of heated sugar on the side. Waiter didn’t ask about replenishing drinks and although service was ok, it wasn’t great given there were only 2 tables dining.

I understand that they don’t want the unhoused to sleep in their property overnight but using a loud speaker to tell them to move on is disruptive to guests. It woke me up around 2AM. I didn’t appreciate that. Security has to have a better way of addressing that issue.

The service at this hotel is probably the worst I have ever experienced. We booked in with two children and then were told they couldn’t go into any common areas. The only time they are allowed to be visible is at breakfast (if you have booked breakfast). When we asked front desk where in the building we could go with our two (appropriately dressed well behaved) children the person actually said “out there” pointing to the street. We are tourists from Ireland and have had a wonderful time in Victoria apart from the Union Club. VERY unwelcoming.

Hidden Gem of Victoria, excellent food and beverage options! Also best place to stay overnight in the city. The room rates are amazing value
Rick S — Google review
This hotel isn’t for everyone. It’s meant to be a destination, in and of itself, for a very specific type of person… and if you aren’t that type of person you will likely feel out of your element. It demands quite a bit of its guests while giving very subjective payback in return, offering some impressive luxuries while whiffing on the basics. First, the downside: Our room was bad. $50 motel bad. It gave strong “Romanov Escapee” vibes: the shabby remnant of a once-glorious institution that is kept afloat by people who demand tradition in lieu of quality. The bathroom remodel was cheaply done, there was staining on the grout, stains on the carpet, the room door didn’t shut all the way, no AC, the courtyard view is an eyesore, and the bed was undersized (full?). Worst of all, there is no elevator. They say it’s being replaced, but in four days we saw no evidence of work being done. Getting to our room on the top floor was unpleasant for my pregnant wife. People with mobility impairments should know that there are no stair-free rooms. I thought I was paying for quality for our ten year anniversary; I got a decrepit, overpriced relic. I’m pretty frustrated by the lack of value. It was hard to shake the feeling that as non-club members, we simply didn’t belong. The dress code and etiquette are just enough to leave you wondering if you’re adequately following the rules or not. We’re educated middle class professionals in our thirties and the sense of being fish out of water was just hard to shake. Now, the upside: If the room was fit for impoverished former nobility, the common spaces were fit for Winston Churchill. And I guess that’s the point. The lounge is awesome. It’s anachronistic in a lavish, decadent way. I appreciate some things about the dress code and etiquette. They create ambiance and decorum. I think perhaps they could be communicated in a less complicated, intimidating way. Reading while drinking a lager in a plush chair in a wood paneled room was a wonderful experience. The drinks themselves were priced affordability. The president’s library was a knockout room for focused work. The hotel restaurant was good. The club members we had conversations with were very nice. The quality of service was quite good - bartenders, servers, and clerks are all bought-in, helpful, friendly, and approachable.

Cusheon Lake Resort is a peaceful retreat nestled on Salt Spring Island, just a short drive from Ganges. The resort offers cozy log cabins and cedar chalets equipped with kitchens and decks that provide stunning views of the lake. Guests can enjoy various activities such as canoeing and relaxing in the hot tub. The accommodations consistently receive high ratings for their cleanliness and overall experience. Visitors appreciate the serene atmosphere, with some highlighting the convenience of amenities like fireplaces and complimentary wood.
A beautiful family own resort with a perfect location. It has everything you need and the staff is kind and friendly. We are a family of three with an 18 months old and the perfect getaway. They are super accommodating and we’re able to provide us crib and highchair. We will definitely go back and probably with more friends. We had the one bedroom cabin and it was perfect for us.
Cyntia C — Google review
Beautiful lake location, however very rustic. Cabin had an ovewhelming smell of wood fire. It was hard to get past that. Wood floors and cabinets are very well worn and there were large ants on the living room floor at the entrance. The 2 ladies at the visitor centre were very positive about this resort, but it is definetly not for everyone. Had it not been so hard to find a place to stay, we would not have chosen this resort. No place to get food or drinks close by.
Marianne — Google review
I found this cabin when I was looking for a place to stay on the island to extend my visit and it blew me away. I was expecting the basic but I got the luxury. For a little place in the middle of a forest they had everything. Kitchen was stoked up with equipment, there was a fireplace in our house (with firewood being refilled daily for our use) plenty of towels, a comfortable king-size bed, a beautiful deck looking out onto the water, canoe rentals and my personal favorite a sauna and hotub to use at your leisure. The place is well maintained and everything has care and dedication put into it (they had a hexclad pan to use for cooking with instructions on how to clean and take care of it for people that are not familiar). It was such a relaxing spot and enjoyable stay it made it difficult to leave the cabin yo explore the island at times. Anytime I tried to find something negative to say about the place I was stopped by finding the answer like needing salt and pepper or sugar, tea at the office, recycling outside. The owners went above and beyond to make my stay better then I could have hoped for.

We were there in early spring for 3 nights, so the weather was not perfect, but the views of the lake were! The hot tub and sauna were a welcome respite to the day. If you want hotel-like accommodation, don't come! It's simple, it's wonderful...wonderfully simple!

We stayed here for three nights on a recent visit to Salt Spring Island. The location is fantastic – on a peninsula into Cusheon Lake. It is a little bit far from town, so keep that in mind: you’ll want to have access to a vehicle. The cabin was quite clean, there’s plenty of firewood, and we borrowed the canoe for a brief foray on the lake. They also have free electric car charging.
Matthew M — Google review
We're in cabin 5 and it has an additional day bed in the living room, super clean, so quiet, definitely rustic but so relaxing, has wifi - what more do you need! Fully equipped kitchen, having a lovely anniversary here!

Beautiful little corner in Salt Spribg Island. Facilities are basic but well setup. Tranquil setting with private cottages for each guest.

Had the nicest weekend ever at this place! Beautiful setting, well appointed cabins with everything you need. The fireplace was perfect, stocked fire wood daily, a rustic feel but also extremely comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The bed was huge and comfy, and the sofa bed was also perfectly cozy by the fire. The hot tub is also awesome. Loved coming here in cold/slushy winter as much as I’m sure I would love it in the summer. Close to ferry terminals and shopping and hiking, but warning you’ll never want to leave the resort once you get here. Can’t wait to come back!
