Restaurant
Impossible Manchester is a vibrant and unique nightspot located in the heart of the city. It features a theater, gin bar, and three floors of entertainment. The modern building combines industrial features with contemporary decor, creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors. During the day, it operates as an exclusive restaurant offering Asian street food-inspired pub grub. At night, it transforms into an eccentric nightclub known for its flashy performances including fire-breathing and champagne showers.
I attended the Impossible Theatre in the basement for the Christmas dinner of the company I work for. The service was fast and super efficient. On arrival, we were told which numbered table we would be at. Then at the table itself, there were pieces of cardboard at each place setting with not just the person's name but also details of what starter and main course they would be having. Very impressive. None of the faffing about and people being served the wrong dish that I have experienced at similar functions and, indeed, weddings at other establishments. With the possible exception of the carrots which, to my mind, we're unintentionally undercooked or accidentally al dente, the food was exceptional - really delicious. If Impossible were a standalone restaurant, I would definitely go back. For entertainment, there was a fire eater performer. Her skills were impressive, but I was worried throughout that she would set the low ceiling above the stage on fire. Seriously. This was a distracting worry. There was also a DJ. He kept the music at a sensible volume during the meal so that people could hear each other talk. But after the meal, he just blasted it out, with the result that conversation was impossible. And I didn't understand the point of that as tables taking up the entire floor area meant that there was zero space for dancing. Then, at only three minutes to ten, the music abruptly stopped, the lights came up, and staff told us we had to go up to the public bar upstairs. The street-level bar looked as you would expect any upmarket bar to look. It was a Friday night and bustling . Impossible is located just off Deansgate and is adjacent to the Great Northern complex which houses an Odeon cinema multiplex, so if upmarket bars are your thing and you are in that part of Manchester city centre, it is worth checking out. And, some minor criticisms notwithstanding, I would absolutely recommend Impossible for a corporate function that includes a sit-down meal. Their food and service are top notch.

Came down to support the new ‘Le Disco’ cocktail menu launch and had a great time. The vibes were great and the drinks were even better. Big thank you to Mia for taking the time to recommend her favourites alongside helping me choose what to go for - definitely will be back to try the rest!!

Went to the DTC event here, excellent venue great bar staff. Didn't have food so can't review. But would definitely go back and try . Great outdoor seating

Great Music Great cocktails and Great service. Miah served us for bottomless brunch and she was amazing. no matter how busy it got she ensured that we were happy and had full glasses. The music was very mixed and we loved that. would definitely return !!

We were invited back to Impossible after a negative experience and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great drinks. After the brunch we took our drinks outside and they were nice enough to give us some complimentary drinks which they did not need to do. The new menu regarding food was okay but nothing to scream about but that’s just my opinion and doesn’t take away from the experience as a whole. Also shout out to our server Precious who was great! 🙌

I visited the venue last night for the launch of the new ‘Le Disco’ cocktail menu. Music, atmosphere, and of course the drinks were all 10/10. Thank you Mia for recommending the Velvet Hustle - one of the best drinks I’ve had in a long time.

I came for bottomless brunch with my cousin on a Saturday and we had the best time! We decided to opt for the premium option for the cocktails and additional side, and it was totally worth the money, the food and drinks were amazing. But what really made our experience was our server, Miah. She was so attentive and friendly and made sure we were catered for at all times no matter how busy it was. Our drinks were never empty and we weren’t ever left waiting for another. Couldn’t recommend her more. She’s amazing!!!! We will definitely be returning. Thank you Miah🩷

We tried to enter as a group of 6 (2 girls, 4 boys) as our first destination of the night and one of the bouncers took a look at our group and deemed the boy-to-girl ratio off and told us to go elsewhere. What a shame to have such an outdated policy in 2025, especially when such a group would have gladly been able to spend a decent amount in the establishment. If management could clarify why this was the case along with remediating actions that would be appreciated.

Bar
The Blues Kitchen Manchester is a vibrant blues bar that offers a taste of the Deep South with its hickory-smoked comfort food and regular live music and DJ performances. Located in a beautifully restored Victorian building on Quay Street, this establishment has quickly become popular for its mix of BBQ dining and authentic live music experiences.
We ate at Blues Kitchen for the 2nd time last night and it was such a great experience. The food is delicious, cocktails were yummy and all the staff were so lovely and patient despite it being really busy. We were lucky to have the lovely Alicia looking after us and she was so attentive and we were never without a drink. Highly recommend the restaurant and the club. Been to some great gigs there. There was also live music in the restaurant later on, which I think happens every night, and that added to the ambience. It's a fabulous space, with loads of cool features.
Tina S — Google review
There's a great soundtrack that continues to play in this place. Popped in for a quick afternoon bite on a trip into town so no live music at the time. Had the ox cheek nuggets... Damn they were good. Little explosions of tender pulled meat in crispy coating. Fries were good - hot and crispy but perhaps portion a little small for a fiver! Really friendly service! Perhaps a few more choices for draught beer wouldn't hurt. Camden Hells but not Camden Pale?! Need to come back during live music - can imagine has a great atmosphere.
Ian A — Google review
Came here last year April for a late lunch with a friend. We ordered the chicken burger and cheeseburger and did halves. Both were delicious and came with a portion of fries. I really liked the interior of the restaurant too. They have live music playing most nights I believe but the night we went it was just normal music. Would visit again.
B — Google review
The famed London based live music venue's base in the North West. The best bit about this bar is the building fit out, it's a wonder to look at and must have cost an unbelievable amount to decorate. Judging by the setting, a lot of the features were not original but retrofitted in at fit out stage. Worth going in an having a quick look round at what they have done. This must have cost a lot! I was there on a Friday, and it was full (needed a booking). The live band were tight and very accomplished. Would say that the downside to the rather disparate layout of the venue, was it perhaps lacks a bit of atmosphere. The stage is positioned to the side where not everyone can see it and engage with the musicians... it doesn't quite have the buzz of the Camden or Old Street venues. Food menu was a bit different, more out there than other places in the City that stick to the classics. Some will love it, others may not- so check in advance if you're eating. Loads and loads of staff, very attentive. They definitely go for the upsell and can be on the pushy side of friendly (if you get me) Would perhaps recommend a week day evening - for a chill look at fit out and a relaxed drink. Then save your off the hook Fridays for somewhere a bit more pumping. Or if you want a suave and classy lounge bar vibe, there are other places in the City that cater for this a bit better.

We had a fantastic time at The Blues Kitchen Manchester! Our server Emily was absolutely wonderful — so friendly, full of energy, and really attentive throughout the evening. She even gave us the discount even though we forgot our keyring, which was so kind of her! The food and drinks were amazing too. Great vibes, great service, and such a lovely atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
Linjuan C — Google review
Niiiice! The staff was great, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere lovely, clean and very cute. The food I would give a 8: nothing bad with it and it was good! Would defo return and spend an evening with friends.

This place is just amazing ! The food and service was top tier. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning when I'm back in Manchester ! Both ordered the peppers ,vegan curry and vegan chocolate mouse which were all amazing. Well done !
Naomi L — Google review
What a great place! Every table was taken, so shows its popularity. Even though it was busy it was well staffed and run really well by attentive and friendly staff . The decor and the feel of the place was a definite vibe. We ate there but there was also seating at the front for drinks only. The food was nice enough. ( We had chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger)No complaints. Would definitely recommend and would return as we just loved the feel of the place. We weren’t there when the live music was on but there was a stage where they regularly have people playing.

SOUP, formerly known as Soup Kitchen, is a popular and award-winning venue in Manchester that offers a diverse menu of seasonal soups, sandwiches, salads, and mains. In addition to its food offerings, SOUP hosts various events including club nights and film screenings. The venue has gained acclaim within the raving community for hosting big names in the music scene despite its relatively cozy size.
Classic Northern Quarter eatery. As it says on the tin, great soup. Great for vegans and veggies. But some for animal eaters too! Good selection of beers, very friendly staff. Canteen style seating, DJ booth and a decent sound system. Soup & a sandwich meal deal, and good prices on alcohol. What’s not too like 😉
Haden B — Google review
I disliked this venue because it's in a basement that has damp walls. The toilets were not clean at all. The venue also felt overcrowded. Which made it too hot. The good parts were. The Artists I and my brother had come to see. Food House who put on a great performance, we'd seen them before at a different venue. We'd would watch Food House again in future. But Not in Soup Manchester. The other good part was. The Staff were all very friendly and helpful. It's just the venue itself that let the event down.

Really chilled and alternative vibe in here. Very nice selection of ales/craft/ everything else! Very tasty food. Reasonable for the city centre. Middle of the Northern quarter. Friendly staff!!

A hub for the arts, up-and-coming musical talent and host of great performance art. Soup has been supportive in so many ways over the past 7 years I've lived in Manchester. Keep on supporting this great place and the people who work so hard to make it this special.

Awesome food, huge portions and a super relaxed cafeteria vibe. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat dishes. Good coffee and a bar with wine, spirits and craft beer.

Soup kitchen has always been a favourite of mine, the food is basic (not a bad thing) but tasty. It's cheap and comforting. Theres always plenty of vegan options and the drink selection is always great. They have great bands in that play too, Love it.

Nestled within the vibrant Cheetham Hill area, Hidden at Downtex Mill is a dynamic nightlife destination that pulses with energy and creativity. This award-winning venue boasts an eclectic mix of neon lights, a lively dance floor, and live DJs spinning tracks that keep the party going late into the night. The walls are adorned with unique graffiti art, creating an atmosphere that's both artistic and inviting.
Best night in Manchester. Run by grassroots local artists and made for real lovers of music. This place has zero tolerance for ego or prejudice, and that’s what makes it so refreshing. Don’t believe the bad reviews—if you take the piss, you’ll get humbled quickly. But if you don’t push in, say thank you, and pace yourself, there’s a high likelihood you’ll make friends with the staff and other ravers and find yourself a new favourite spot. There’s real heart here, and a proper sense of community. We need to protect venues like this, they’re part of the city’s history, and the spirit that makes Manchester what it is.

Good night out usally heavy. bouncers fair, my friend was feeling unwell and they nursed her back go 100hp, very nice people good spot
Albert S — Google review
Atmosphere great due to the acts playing, a really good set up.. minus the bar shuts at 3am even though events can run way past this time. This should be highly advertised when booking as the majority would like a drink later on.
Joe A — Google review
MISOGYNISTIC AND RACIST I wasn't allowed entry because the manager at the door claimed I ignored him earlier when he said hi, which I simply didn’t hear. This was purely an abuse of power over a woman who didn’t give him the attention he wanted. I was also singled out as the only East Asian in the group. Disgusting behaviour. I ended up walking straight to White Hotel afterwards, where they let me in for free after what happened at Hidden. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

Loved it!! Only thing was I thought it was weird the fence between us and dj .. so that is why 4 star instead of 5. I loved seeing dj assault! Just was weird to be behind bars 😅

Nestled in the vibrant Northern Quarter of Manchester, Mint Lounge is a must-visit destination for nightlife enthusiasts. Known for hosting Funkademia, the city's longest-running club night since 1995, this lively venue transforms every Saturday into a celebration of soul-funk and electric disco.
Highlight of our visit to Manchester! We came across the Indie night DJ’d by Clint Boon just by chance and it’s one of the best things we did! V friendly staff including bouncers. Drinks well priced and only a fiver for admission. Fantastic music - everyone dancing and having the best time. Unisex toilets.
Kathryn H — Google review
Definitely the worst live music experience in my life. The "sound engineer" did not have a clue what he was doing using his phone as a torch looking like he'd not seen the equipment before. The sound was just awful, no mid/trebles, loads of feedback, couldn't hear the vocals at all. 20 minutes into the gig the band said they couldn't do it anymore but carried on as the audience pressed. At one point, a lady from the audience went in the booth to help to help the sound guy as he was just clueless. Bar very poorly stocked, no draft beer. Bottled desperados and heineken ran out within 30 mins, leaving small craft beer cans as only option. The whole place is just delapidated and I can't believe I paid money to be there.
David P — Google review
Didn't have food. Too expensive for a run down venue. Very little choice of drinks. Nothing on tap, no alco pops like WkD or Smirnoff ice, no cocktails, no known beers... I came for the after party of Clubland and after having an amazing night this was a massive let down. It's unisex toilets which I personally don't feel comfortable with and I regret paying for a ticket which was about £16. I'm from Hereford and this place made every club in Hereford look like a better night and that's saying something! Bouncers and bar staff were nice though. EDIT: To the response. I didn't expect food, I should have been more specific, I only meant I put a 1 star for food as I didn't have any and there wasn't... Also, I now live in Birmingham. I know Neck Oil but personally don't like it. I would have just expected beers like San Miguel, Carlsberg, Carling, Stella etc. And it was a clubland event. I've been clubbing to that music since 1999. Alco pops were very much part of that culture as well as cocktails.
Jolene D — Google review
I have helped to organise a number of events at Mint Lounge over the past 12 months. The management, venue staff and security staff have been second to none. The security staff at Mint Lounge have been the best I have seen at an event. Friendly staff, no attitude, smiling faces, understand the crowd. We have never experienced any issues at any event we have held at Mint Lounge, and we will continue to use Mint Lounge for as long as they will allow 😀
Bev M — Google review
We tried Mint Lounge again after a years break because the bouncers behaved absolutely awfully the last time we were there. I had to leave another review because their behaviour was so appalling. Nothing has changed. Rude men with big egos who really let the business down considering how lovely the bar staff are. A shame because they're also the first and last people you see from the night and considering there's quite a few bad reviews about them, it's a common occurrence.
Emily B — Google review
Quality night enjoyed every min the staff the music and even security safe gotta say how well the bouncers done tonight looking forward to the next one
Kenny C — Google review
Bouncer refused entry for three of us for finishing our drink prior to joining the queue so I wasn't even on their premises. Furthermore, the drink was just a coke and didn't even contain any alcohol. The bouncers laughed in my face, were rude and dismissive, we pre-bought tickets and can't even get a refund. The bouncer told me to take it up with skiddle and according to their terms and conditions they aren't responsible for an incompetent security team so can't grant me a refund. I highly encourage everyone to avoid this club, and judging by the unprofessional managements replies on their google reviews, I can see why its one of the lowest rated clubs in Manchester.
Joe M — Google review
The bouncers were really rude and dismissive. I understand they are dealing with a lot of people but it doesn't harm to be polite. I tried to explain my situation and was not allowed into the club purely because I was drinking a lucozade to keep my blood sugar up - I'm diabetic. The bouncer physically pushed me out of the queue and refused to listen 3 times! Also, when my friend was punched in the face, the bouncers did not break up the fight and instead laughed at him. Shame was really looking forward to going.

Old Trafford is the iconic home of Manchester United, boasting a capacity of 75,000 seats for matches and offering behind-the-scenes stadium tours. The area surrounding the stadium has seen revitalization efforts, with the Stretford Canteen aiming to bring recognition to the neighborhood. Additionally, historical references to Old Trafford include its past as a terminus for horse-drawn omnibus services and its opening in 1907 with an impressive display of 25,000 electric lights.
Not a ManU supporter but we came here for a visit because my brother is. We booked the tour via the contact centre and we ended up getting a private tour with Ian because we needed a wheelchair accessible route. It was a really great experience, we weren't rushed and we got a really good insight into the history of Manchester United and the stadium. Unfortunately as we went in the off season they were doing some refurbishment of the change rooms so we couldn't see that part. Ian was such a great tour guide and he even gave my brother some complimentary souvenirs which really made his day. Highly recommend a visit here.

The Theatre of Dreams. What can I say, I was blessed to witness MANU vs Arsenal on 17th August 2025 in this iconic stadium, steeped in history. The atmosphere buzzes way before the kick-off. The vibe is unbeatable. Although MANU lost, it was truly a blessed moment for me coming from the other side of the globe. Old Trafford is an incredible pilgrimage for anyone who watches sports.

Going to a Manchester United game as a New York football fan was a dream come true. We stayed at the adjoining Football Hotel with an amazing view of Old Trafford. On game day, we had the Red Cafe Hospitality package and enjoyed a three-course meal before the game. The first course was a delicious and creamy soup. Next, I had the pork belly with mashed potatoes, which was astounding. Lastly, we had chocolate and fruit. While enjoying our meal we were charmed by ex-Manchester United players telling us stories of their playing days. The staff were so nice and friendly. Our seats were padded and comfortable at the Stretford end of the field. United won 2-0 and wett returned to the Red Cafe and enjoyed a drink and a wonderful meat pie. I will definitely be back. What a great time.

Visiting Old Trafford is truly a worthwhile experience. You’ll have the chance to explore the main functional areas of the stadium, learn about the rich history of the club, and visit the traditional trophy room. It’s an unforgettable tour for any football fan and a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the legacy of Manchester United.

I waited 27 long years to finally get to experience the theatre of dreams in person. It was worth every single second. I genuinely was almost brought to tears as I arrived to the stadium, seeing the iconic trinity statue I booked the stadium tour and was absolutely blown away by the detail and care taken to properly show off the club I've worshipped since I could speak. The tour guides were absolutely brilliant and you could feel they genuinely live and breathe Manchester United. I took a bunch of photos but the memories I made today will stay with me forever.

What a experience as United Fan, i love it so much. Museum and Stadium Tours is fun, informative we covered the whole stadium. We had a chance to have our lunch at Red cafe it was nice food as well.

We booked tickets for the stadium tour back in April. The tour was thoroughly enjoyable and informative. Old Trafford remains one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world, and it had also been a location I wanted to visit back when I was younger. The tour is roughly an hour long and allows you a thorough walk through the outskirts of the stadium, if paid for you also get a picture inside the signing booth. I am not sure if there is a ticket to get onto the field, though that would have been amazing to have.

Family restaurant
TGI Fridays at Trafford Centre is a casual American restaurant with a lively atmosphere and a wide selection of food and drinks. It's known for its family-friendly environment, offering an extensive kids menu that children love. The staff are consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness, going out of their way to accommodate special requests. While the alcoholic drinks may be a bit pricey, the overall dining experience is enjoyable.
So we come from north wales to the centre as it was my missus 30th birthday and wanted to go some nice shops so as a family we stopped by for food . First food was great and staff was brilliant specially with my 6yr son who isn’t the best when in public spaces gets shy and has broken speech but the staff was polite and respectful and listened to everything he said .the main part was we only mentioned in passing that we was down for my partners birthday well he remembered and brought out all the staff that sang and clapped and made my missus day as we wasn’t expecting it which just made our experience even better so from my partner, my kids and myself thank you so much for everything your staff did for us , the food , the atmosphere just everything was 10/10 and will 100% be coming back

They were very busy as it was a weekend - we waited for 20 minutes before we got a table. But when we sat down, the gentlemen who was in charge of our section was great and very attentive! The food was delicious and the burger was amazing! And dessert was interesting, but the cake on the sundae was very good!

This visit reminded me why I had stopped eating here. While the service was good and the staff were friendly, the food was a letdown. Portions were much smaller than what I’ve had at other Fridays branches abroad, especially for the price. The soft drinks were the biggest surprise; the taste was so bad that even the kids couldn’t finish them. The coleslaw was unpleasant, the salmon portion was tiny (though it tasted good), and the corn was not good at all.

Went here for fathers day as a large family and it was so disappointing, Im giving it 2 stars only because the staff were amaizing and they gave us a big discount for the terrible food. Otherwise it would be a 1. But if you are looking for good food dont go here, the burgers where dry like eating slippers, the lettuce was brown and old with the butt still connected. And the kids pasta was like tomato and cheese microwave meals hard on top. Even the £30 mixed grill was underwhelming with hardly Andy meat on the ribs and we were sawing through our steaks for days.
Amelia M — Google review
We visited TGI Fridays at the Trafford Centre this afternoon around 2:30pm, and it was honestly disappointing from start to finish. First of all, the staff were not attentive at all. Most of them seemed more interested in chatting with each other than checking on customers. We felt completely ignored while they walked around having their own conversations. We ordered the mixed grill with gravy and TGI Fridays glaze, but when it arrived there was no gravy at all. On top of that, we asked for the rump steak to be cooked medium, but it came out so overcooked it was well beyond well-done—dry and tough, basically ruined. We also ordered two soft drinks (Coke and lemonade), thinking they were refillable (as is common at TGI Fridays). When we asked for a refill of the Coke, the waitress abruptly told us they were single-serve. When we explained that we thought they were refillable, instead of clarifying politely or double-checking, she blamed us for the mistake and gave us a long, sour look, despite the fact that she hadn’t bothered to confirm anything when we ordered in the first place. Finally, when paying the bill, the card machine failed to connect properly and the transaction was declined with a “card type not accepted” message. The waitress immediately asked me if I had another card instead. I explained that I didn’t see any problem with my card since it’s a Mastercard, and there was no notification on my banking app about a decline, exceeding the limit, or timing out on contactless. She then called the manager over for help. Eventually, the payment went through just fine using chip and PIN. Overall, really poor service and disappointing food. For the price you pay here, you’d expect at least basic courtesy, working payment systems, and edible steak. No wonder the restaurant is not full on Sunday afternoon while other restaurants were so busy. I should have read the previous reviews before entering. Won’t be returning in the future, not even a single time.

Ordered breakfast. Food was nice. However when the food arrived I asked where the mushrooms were on the breakfast and the waitress said oh we have run out! Ermmm it was about 10.30am and only about 4 people inside. This should have been mentioned on ordering as I’d have said could we have extra beans or something. No mushrooms but no discount!
Jo — Google review
Staff lovely, food great. But. I ordered grilled chicken. I received roast chicken. When I spoke to the manager, they denied having grilled chicken on the menu and that when you order "grilled chicken" that's what you'd get. I mentioned that I had the grilled chicken here before, but the manager denied it again and said I ordered off the "wrong menu" as I used the one online. I felt completely bamboozled and gaslit, especially when it was the manager who took my order in the first place and didn't mention anything at any stage. After 25 min to redo my food, they brought out, surprise surprise, the 2 pieces of grilled chicken that I wanted in the first place. When my partner asked the manager what kind of chicken was that, we got a long waffle of how he has to put that through separately and to get the chicken breast out for the chef? Anyway, the GRILLED CHICKEN was great.

All the food was cold, partners chicken wings was nice he had the platter was a big mad mashy mess terribly over priced, shant return sorry only good thing is lovely staff i felt embarrassed for them, far better places to eat. Sheffield Meadow hall so much better. Then was nearly charged for 3 lots of ribs when only had 1, saw lots of unhappy customers 1 family got up and walked away not a good look .

Amy was the best!! Our table wasn’t quite ready when we arrived so we gave us a complimentary free drink. Set up our table really nice. Went out of her way 5 minutes before the end of our bottomless to ask if we’d like another drink before it ended. Really polite, really friendly and always approached us with a smile. Thank you so much!

Jazz club
Live music bar
Nestled in the heart of Manchester's Northern Quarter, Matt & Phreds Jazz Club is a beloved live music venue known for its laid-back atmosphere and diverse musical offerings. While jazz takes center stage, the club also embraces funk and soul acts, ensuring there's something for everyone. With live music six nights a week, including jam sessions and performances by esteemed artists, it's a hotspot for both seasoned jazz enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
Simple done right. When the basics are done well, they’re more than enough to bring you back, and Matt & Phreds nails it. It’s a proper jazz club with great live music, reasonably priced drinks, and an even better food deal. A few friends and I made the most of their “2 drinks, 1 free pizza” offer, six drinks and a pizza each? Can’t beat that. We sipped, snacked, and soaked in the music all night. Great vibe, great value. Definitely coming back.
Shanan V — Google review
I came back to Matt and Phreds the other night for the first time in about 10 years, and it did not disappoint. An absolute stalwart independent music venue putting on superb acts from across the country and from around the world. They host weekly open jam nights for a range of different styles of music too where local musicians can meet and play together making this bar an vital part of Manchester's musical community. On top of this they make a mean pizza and have a sophisticated bar serving nice beers and wines and an impressive cocktail selection. A great place for a date or night out for music lovers and jazz fans!

i had seen a few things online about this place and finally went in after hearing distant jazz music whilst walking through northern quarter. i went in with a friend on a late saturday afternoon. it was happy hour with a great selection of cocktails and they had a free pizza with every two cocktails! we ordered the cocktail special (a refreshing twist on a prn star martini) and a spiced rum cocktail - both were delicious. we had the vegan pizza which went great with the drinks. the performer was brilliant and created a great atmosphere with everyone signing and clapping along to some jazzed up classics. great venue, will definitely be back again!

First time visit and an absolutely fabulous evening for my OH and me listening to The Swing Commanders. Brilliant foot-tapping stuff. It was a Friday night so we paid £10 each to have a reserved table near the front (rather than stools further back). We tucked into two tasty pizzas - around £9.50 each - while we waited for the music to start and enjoyed a bottle of red wine (£22 though others cost more) for the evening. Three sets starting at 9:30 and finishing at 12:30. A great night out. The band is back early next year, I believe.

BLVD Manchester offers a unique late bottomless brunch experience that extends into the evening, featuring a diverse menu of small plates and sides accompanied by an array of beverages including bloody marys, beers, mimosas, gin cocktails, and prosecco. The chic and stylish setting in the heart of Albert Square redefines traditional brunch with its Mediterranean-style dishes. Inspired by New York and Miami bars, BLVD's sleek interior exudes sophistication while maintaining a lively atmosphere.
We hired BLVD Manchester for a corporate party this summer, Layla & the team were FANTASTIC! A special shout out to the Assistant Manager who was superb in really looking after my Executive team, they commented on how attentive the team were looking after everyone. Layla worked with me in great detail to deliver what we set out to achieve, they were so incredibly flexible, which is a rarity with venues nowadays. They allowed us to choose our own champagne arrivals, created cocktails to match our branding (very well received) and even worked with us to create a themed food menu, which everyone was blown away by the quality of!

I’ve walked past this place a few times and finally decided to pop in. It’s actually a really nice place inside, everybody is having a good time partying and singing and the DJ actually plays some decent tunes unlike other places. My only complaints are that the drinks cost a bomb for what you’re getting and the chairs near the bar are way too small, they dig into your side and unless you’re a skinny model, you cannot fit.

Bottomless brunch & old skool bingo, food was nice, drinks were good but along wait for service so didn't feel the bottomless brunch was worth the money. Old skool bingo was brilliant & atmosphere was amazing. Overall a good night

Had a bottomless brunch to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday night!! The service was exceptional. We had the whole of the upstairs. We were asked regularly for our drink orders and believe me I lost count of how many drinks we had, definitely got our moneys worth. The food was ok, maybe a bit more variety could be offered, but we knew the menu before we went 😉

I came in recently to check out the new menu and was pleasantly surprised. There’s a nice mix of familiar favorites and some creative new additions. You can tell some real thought went into updating the options. I tried the Boneless Jerk Chicken, and it was excellent, flavorful, and well-cooked. The Mac& cheese was also a standout. Portion sizes are fair, and the pricing feels reasonable for what you get. Service was friendly as always, and the staff seemed excited about the new offerings, which was nice to see. Overall, a great refresh that makes me want to come back and try more. Definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been in a while.

Disappointing Came with 3 friends for bottomless brunch. On booking the menu was pan Asian however it had changed a week later as Jamaican food. I usually love Jamaican food but this was disappointing. They had no plantain or tempura prawns in stock. The starters came at the same time the the mains which wasn’t ideal. The jerk chicken was rubbery and flavourless and the curry goat did not seem like goat meat and was very dry. The cocktail selection for bottomless brunch was all very sweet so not great for some members of my party. By 3 drinks in we felt sick due to the amount of sugar in even the less juice based drinks. Overall not great at all . Far better bottomless brunches at literally any other location in Manchester

Night club
Nestled just across from the iconic Factory, Joshua Brooks is a beloved establishment in Manchester that seamlessly blends the charm of a traditional pub with the energy of an underground club. By day, it invites patrons to enjoy a casual pint alongside delicious craft beers and hearty pies. As night falls, this venue transforms into an intimate haven for music lovers, showcasing an impressive array of genres such as house, techno, and drum and bass.
I've been at Joshua Brooks now a few times and can say what an incredible venue it is. The staff are really friendly, and the food is exquisite. I've been so a few of the events they hold their and the atmosphere is next level, the venue can get quite busy, but everyone is courteous and just there for a good time! In my experience, I've never had a bad time, absolute must go if in Manchester! I can't wait to go there again!

I went for the student special deal which was a Poboy and a drink for £9. I also decided to have a side order of French fries. The poboy wasn’t exactly haute cuisine, I guess the quality reflected the price, they were a bit tight on shrimp. The fries were awful, far too over salted, so much I couldn’t eat them. This place is ok for a drink while watching football, but I wouldn’t recommend the food.
Mikey J — Google review
If I’m ever caught in there again it’ll be with a gun to my head! The terrible atmosphere starts right at the door with the apathetic thuggish bouncers, piss poor searches as they bark orders at customers with promoters standing around offering no information. The venue stinks. Either open toilet or dirty bar but something stinks. We paid to see Floorplan, advertised to start at 2200-0400, there was no set list and no one else advertised to play but Floorplan didn’t arrive till 2am and despite last entry being 2 there was no re-entry before this so we were basically stuck in there with the lame residential DJs looping the same tired donkey beats while half of the other customers were completely drugged up. Horrible. Juvenile bar staff ignoring customers to flirt and playing rock paper scissors in-front of us while the queue built up. Half the drinks weren't available for club nights and the menus were all wrong, like get a grip. No drug control or safety monitoring half the crowd were drooling off their face bobbing around the empty dance floor harassing anyone that made eye contact. Dusty baggies on the floor and £1.50 for a packet of walkers that are advertised as Kettle Chips!! The cheek of it. The sound system, while loud, had some piercing rattling going on and hardly any bass. There’s an upstairs and downstairs that basically have the same feed so no respite anywhere. Smoking section is a tiny strip of gutter off to the side where you’re surround by police and obnoxious 1st year students. I had to check and last time I was there was actually 2018 where I had a similar experience so it explains the long gap but it’s truly an indictment of the management that in over 6 years they’ve done nothing to improve, presumably making the bulk of their revenue scamming first year students and one-time visitors to Manchester. If this review saves someone else having to go through that then that’s all I can do. Even if your favourite act is playing there I wouldn’t waste my time with it the atmosphere will kill any excitement or energy you had to see them. I’d go as far as using their social media to urge them not to perform there it’s that serious! Hopefully they can’t last much longer x

First time in Manchester, so obviously, first time at JB. Really enjoyed my day in the city and finished off by seeing Stanton Warriors at this venue. The dance area is below street level, and is exactly the environment I'm familiar with after 35 years of raving. This is how all clubs should be in my opinion. Small, tight and sweaty. The middle age crowd (of course) really proves you're never too young to go out and listen to quality tunes in a quality club.

i came with a big group of friends, there were 8 of us. everyone ordered and as it was being cooked, everything was brought to our table. of course, we had to wait for a while, but there were a lot of us and the order was big, so no problem. i ordered BAYOU and it was very salty. i asked the staff if it should really be that salty. the kitchen worker said it shouldn't be like that and he would make a new one. in 5 minutes i was enjoying an excellent BAYOU. so i am very happy with the service. yes, there was a small mistake, but they fixed it quickly and without any problems. thank you for that!

The Albert Hall in Manchester is a stunning music venue housed in a renovated Wesleyan church that had been closed for 40 years. The grand chapel features ornate architecture, stained-glass windows, and a tiered balcony, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for big-name gigs and concerts. With its large standing area and unreserved seating on wooden benches, the Grade II listed Gothic building offers a versatile experience for concert-goers.
I've photographed 2 weddings at Albert Hall and both were absolutely amazing. There are so many great locations within the building for photo opportunities, like the main staircase, the back stairs and the mezzanine. It makes such a dramatic backdrop for a ceremony, either on the main floor or the stage. Rows of trestle tables are a modern way to seat guests, with plenty of space to move about between. The lighting for the evening party is everything you'd expect from a live music venue, with the DJ/band able to set themselves up on the stage, which gives the wedding more of a gig/rave feel, perfect for couples who want something "a bit different" for their day. I can't wait to shoot there again!
Amy F — Google review
Albert Hall is one of my favourite venues. Quite intimate but it's not small. As a 6ft1in person, I can see the stage from anywhere within the venue. The building itself is beautiful but the toilets are a bit of a way away from the stage.
Dawid G — Google review
Loved this venue - the sound was really crisp and good lighting. It feels big with its huge balcony. The large stage is quite high but not too much of a problem if you are standing close. Only negative for me was the treck down quite a few set of steps to find the toilets and the signage wasn't too clear for first timers.
Stephen F — Google review
Great venue for music concerts. Upstairs seating is best, but you have to get there early. Gets pretty busy as most of these small venues do, but it's well managed, loads of bars. The toilets are in the basement, so a trek to get there.
Paul — Google review
Fantastic venue, seating upstairs standing ground floor. Good acoustics. 1800 person venue so when the band connects with the crowd it feels special and intimate. Will definitely be back
Gray L — Google review
This is one of the best venue in Manchester in terms of accessibility, not because they're the most accessible but because they're the most attentive and caring. There's a lift, there are people bringing you drinks and merch to your seat, there's an accessible toilet (bring your radar key or you can ask the staff to borrow theirs), there are allocated seats to make sure everyone is sat somewhere that match their needs, and everyone is very welcoming and smiling which is fantastic ❤️ In terms of could be even better if: - real chairs. The cushions are very hard and not comfortable and the bleacher are too deep to use the back support and fold knees so I ended up seating with my legs crossed which caused pain the day after. - test the artists lighting beforehand. We saw Daði Freyr and one of his spotlight was pointing directly towards us the entire time, so we couldn't see him despite being quite close, and without risking a migraine. - similarly we couldn't see the screens behind the artist as they were angled to face towards the crowd and we were on the side, but that can't really be helped. But apart from that, it's my favourite place to go to. Each time there's an artist I like I hope they perform here rather than at another venue, so thank you for all your work!
Virginie A — Google review
Phenomenal venue. The location, setting, renovations and acoustics of the building are incredible. Can't comment on the bar but plenty of people seemed to enjoy it. My experience may be slightly biased due to the fact I was seeing my favourite artist, but even my rose-tinted glasses couldn't contain the power of the Albert hall. Would certainly go again for another concert. You may need to brush up on the stairmaster and bring your hiking boots to get to the toilets though.
Kayban — Google review
One of My Favourite Venues Albert Hall is probably one of my favourite gig venues. It’s the perfect size big enough to feel like a proper night out, but still intimate enough that you’re not overwhelmed. I love the old church vibes, with the stained glass windows, church organ pipes, and the overall layout. It has a unique character that gives it something special. The space is really well designed, with bars on either side and an upstairs area if you need a bit of breathing room. I genuinely prefer gigs here because it never feels too busy just the right level of atmosphere without the chaos. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older, but I’ve found I enjoy these more intimate venues so much more than the huge ones. That said, the sound quality at Albert Hall is still excellent, and it manages to keep the energy without being overwhelming. It’s also in a great location, easy to get to and surrounded by plenty of good restaurants and bars for before or after the show. All in all, it’s a venue I always look forward to going back to.

Victoria Warehouse is an iconic Manchester music venue that regularly throws some of the biggest names in music onto its stage. From Thom Yorke to Damian Marley, it doesn't matter who the act is - Victoria Warehouse has a reputation for putting on a stellar show. With excellent acoustics and an atmospheric setting, Victoria Warehouse is a must-see location for any music lover in Manchester.
A great venue with lots of facilities and great audio throughout. There is a great view and it can be a very lively venue. The staff are friendly and the process of getting into the venue was very straightforward. The only issue is that it is a bit out of the city centre and tricky to get to.

Watched a concert here on 27th September. The venue was good, staff were polite and helpful. Didn't have to wait more than a minute to get served at the bar. Enjoyed the show and it sounded great. Only downside is the drinks are ridiculously expensive.

At first, when we arrived, the building looked a little run down. But we were wrong, its aged... in a good way. Had a great time. Bar service was quick and toilet queues were small. The venue is large enough to feel "part of something" and small enough to feel close to the act. And of course... Will Smith was amazing!

Entrance to the show was good & secure, toilets stayed nice and clean. Could do with more benches in the seating area, & should also sell peppermint tea at the bar, it’s England in October don’t you know the British love a good tea with their punk rock? 😂

Amazing venue in an old warehouse next to the Manchester United stadium. Easy to get to and well organised in terms of the placement of the merch stands, toilets and bars. Iggy Pop gig was amazing and largely the crowd were well behaved, apart from the elbowy bloke in front of us who selfishly kept vaping throughout, with no sign of security to stop him. Will definitely return, now that I've found a great parking spot.
Graham M — Google review
As a relatively new venue, it's really good. Feel as about the same size as the O2 Academy 1. Clean toilets, quite a few people serving on the merchandise stalls, all set up pretty well. Overall I would give the venue itself 5 stars. However, research where to find parking nearby. The most noticeable parking set up for the venue diverting people to park on normal road with double yellows was £20 which is a rip off for what it is and for what is absolutely not secure parking. Must have permission from Manchester City council to do this so it's really bad on all counts. On principle next time I will find somewhere else to park as this is a massive letdown. Loses two stars purely for parking. It's a nightmare.

WASP concert. Great venue- easy to get to by tram - get off at either Pomona or Exchange Quay ( 8 min walk). Useful yo have screens in bar area so you can watch show there ( menopausal so sometimes get too hot near the front!!! 🤣).

The accessible queue was really long and slow compared to the ga line could do with more than one as it defeats the objective when you’re stood waiting for 20 minutes. The staff inside were mostly lovely. The sound was good. The accessible seating was awful as unless you stand which you’re not allowed to do even if you could you can’t see anything. Also went to the toilet and had my chair taken and then had to stand up and wait for another one to be brought out to me. I don’t think I would Book a gig here again unfortunately which is such a shame as the sound quality was fab.

Amazing venue for a gig or rave night. Way too old but still clinging on. Great atmosphere, brilliant interior. Drinks not too pricey. Plenty WC. Lights and laser show is superb. Proper old school venue. Would recommend to anyone. Bit of a queue to get in but amazing place

We came here for Super Massive and the rooftop bar. All I can say about it was it was a Super massive waste of money. The drinks were vile. I ordered a proscecco and it was warm and tasted like cheap cava. My husband got a bottle of Peroni which was what you'd expect but not that cold. For our 2nd drinks my husband wanted a sparkling water which they didn't have so they suggested soda water. It tasted vile!!!! I asked for half a larger top and she topped with soda water. I couldn't be bothered to take it back. Just left it. Super Massive is advertised as the new date night. It looked really cool on instagram. It was very underwhelming to say the least. The only thing we enjoyed was the blending sound blocks but the rest of it was just a bit dull. Sorry guys. I think this is perfect for children upto the age of 8 max. Or if your microdosing with psychedelics then this could be fun but it just lacked lustre for the price of £37 for an hour and crap drinks at the bar. This has also put me off from attending any club events as the drinks are rubbish.

A long process getting in. Lockers were useful, but with huge queues to get to at the end of the night. Large concrete pillars can obscure view of the stage, and some of the sound seems to get lost due to the size and shape of the venue. No tap water from the bar. Its a unique venue, but not one of my favourites.
Stephen R — Google review
Even if you only recognise a handful of acts on a WHP night, this is an experience you won't forget in a hurry. The sound in the main room is borderline atrocious but the smaller spaces (Archive and Concourse) have a more underground feel, with impeccable audio and actually some room to dance.
Cameron S — Google review
Worst acoustics I’ve ever experienced. Poor Olly Alexander’s words could barely be heard due to the echoing in the main hall and/or the terrible sound system. We would avoid coming back to this venue for any live music events.

Amazing park! Could spend all day here and so amazing that it's in the city centre. We sampled the toasties on site too which were pretty good. Toilets, refillable water station, lovely areas to sit and right by the river.

I travelled from London with eight friends to attend an event at Manchester Depot, with four tickets purchased specifically for this night. I was genuinely looking forward to the experience, but the way I was treated by security completely ruined it. I arrived with a small nike backpack containing only some warm clothes — a knitted jumper and trousers — as the event finished at 3 a.m. and I knew it would be cold afterwards. I passed through the initial security checks without any issue, but right before the lockers area, one of the security guards stopped me and said they needed to call someone to check my bag. I waited patiently for around 20 minutes, during which the guard never found their manager. Eventually, he told me to follow him and about 2 minutes walking back to the end of the queue I asked if the manager is that way, where he just told me that I couldn’t enter because my backpack was “too big” and that I needed to return to my hotel or Airbnb and come back without it or go wherever in a taxi. I calmly explained that my bag was half empty and that I had no problem showing everything inside as I mentioned at the beggining. I was never rude, angry, or disrespectful at any point. However, the guard became aggressive and dismissive, refusing to listen or show any understanding that I had travelled all the way from London just for this event and he just exited the conversation and left. In the end, another staff member was more helpful and pointed me towards a bin outside, where I had no choice but to throw away my bag and warm clothes just to be allowed entry, which I did as I was really looking forward to the event. I ended up leaving the venue at 3 a.m. freezing, feeling frustrated and humiliated. This experience left a really bad impression. I was treated as if I’d done something wrong, when in reality, I was fully cooperative and simply wanted to enjoy the event I travelled so far for. Manchester Depot seriously needs to improve staff training, communication, and professionalism — especially towards respectful guests who make the effort to attend from outside the city.

Ark Manchester is a hip, modern nightclub situated by the canal which offers guests a pub-style menu and some of the best cocktails in town. There's also DJs and events on offer, making it one of the city's most popular venues for nightlife.
We had a brilliant experience clubbing at this venue, covered in bright red lighting throughout the night! The additional tricks like smoke from the ceiling and dancers juggling fire were exciting, atmosphere was solid people are friendly here. Music was suited to the venue with many tunes played, counter is well presented and had a Desperados as part of my experience!

I ordered Prosecco and it was measured in a spirits jigger and poured into a Prosecco glass so only went a third up the glass. When questioned, the bar maid said that’s how they measured it there, there was only one size and it was a small! And that was around the £6/7 mark!

This iconic cabaret bar offers a warm welcome for those seeking a quiet drink or an exciting night out. With frequent drag shows, lip sync battles, and resident DJs playing camp bangers all night long, Via promises an unforgettable experience.
Great bar, fantastic atmosphere, loved the the decor and feel of the place. Friday night drag show was a hoot. I didn't eat any food, but I had multiple drinks, and they were pricey. But the bar staff was aplenty and super responsive. Multiple levels, rooms and nooks make it for fun and cozy place. You can be partying in a crowd, or hidden away at some small table on the back for more intimate meet with friends or a date.

Wow, wow, wow... What an amazing Gay Bar on Canal Street, Manchester. We all attended this bar for afternoon drinks. The weather was good enough to sit outside, the Halloween decorations were totally amazing. We shall always visit this place when in Manchester and we were lucky enough to meet the guy that did the Halloween decorations, he also does the Christmas ones too.

My first time in this bar. Great bar, affordable drinks. Was extremely busy but the atmosphere was great, and the Halloween decorations were amazing! And some top class entertainment with 3 different singers on Saturday evening including Celine Dion, Whitney and Kylie tributes. A top way to end date day with the misses.

Took my friend here for a roast on Sunday for his birthday, the food was lovely however the staff spoilt it for me and I wish I'd taken my friend somewhere else. There was one guy who was lovely the one who brought our cutlery over, might have been the manager but pretty much everyone else made us feel like an inconvenience for even being there. It was fairly empty when we arrived and lots of staff on but they seemed annoyed to even be there, avoided eye contact when I came to the bar and made sure they finished their conversations before. We ordered cauliflower cheese and it didn't come and when I asked about it I almost got an eye roll. For this reason I wouldn't eat here again despite the food being really nice.

The layout in here is crazy. Absolutely beautiful. Stairways, nooks and snug areas all over. The bar’s really busy but you still get served really quickly. Staff seemed rushed off their feel but still chirpy, friend and welcoming. Just a brilliant bar.

Had a problem with this same bouncer back in March, and now yesterday on Halloween night. This bouncer was constantly dismissing my girlfriend, saying that she is too drunk, and that she’s lying, and that he could force her away if needs be. This bouncer had this same issue with my girlfriend back in March and dismissed her, but said that I was fine to go in. This person should not be working here he is extremely rude and has strange questioning behaviour, also the other bouncer was fine with us that was next to him. The fact that the review below is also expressing the strange behaviour of this bouncer is very concerning.

I was dealt with a bouncer who identified himself as "King" Initially I didn't have my id I am 31. I went home and got it. Despite me showing my ID and my ticket multiple times by 12.28 Mr King said "I don't care who you are I won't let you in" Shame I was only hoping to have a good time. Went G.A.Y. Instead

I am extremely disappointed with the service at this club. On Monday 15th September around 3AM, I dropped my phone behind the DJ set (between the wall and the equipment). Since then, I have called, emailed, and even visited the club multiple times to resolve the issue, but staff have been dismissive and unhelpful. A customer’s belongings should never be treated as unimportant. The complete lack of communication, urgency, or professionalism from the staff is unacceptable. I expected at the very least a reply or some effort to help retrieve my property. Very poor service and I would strongly advise others to be cautious about leaving personal belongings here, as you cannot rely on the staff for help.
Mariah — Google review
The lady who stamps people was very aggressive and shouldn’t be working in an environment where you have to interact with customers. She was a blonde young lady who needs to understand she’s working in customer service where she has no right to be so rude and aggressive. I entered 11.10.25 but she put me whole group off so we left.
S M — Google review
Bouncers here are awful, rude, and are all on a power trip. They need to be fired and replaced. Confiscated my prescription medication for not having the physical prescription on me, and refused to give it back. Shouldn’t they be focused on looking for weapons? Not inspecting every item you bring in with you? Don’t go here, there are plenty of better spots around. I tried to have a discussion with one of them but he got upset and approached me very aggressively. He proceeded to follow me down the street. The audacity to pursue a customer in that way is unbelievable. Wish I had gotten his name

Wasn’t even let in the club my friend had my ticket on his phone and my phone was dead, the bouncer let the group I was with in but made me get out the queue just because I couldn’t prove I was with them. Pretty much got left stranded for no actual reason do NOT recommend

Had such a lovely experience. Have to give a special shoutout to the doormen Jacob & Oliver for ensuring everyone’s safety whilst remaining calm and easy to talk to. My friends were way more intoxicated than me and these 2 men helped me feel safe, showed me where to get my Uber from and made sure that I was protected until my pickup. It’s so refreshing to see bouncers that are caring towards the customers and enforce safety through protection instead of aggression. Highly reccomend. ❤️

I have been working up to visit my first bar for years. Finally plucked up the courage to visit even wore a pink shirt for the firat time in my life and the bouncer first interrogated me as to why i am on my own then searched my bag pulled out my cannabis in its original medical packaging and refused me entry like i was a drug addict or dealer or something. I have with me my medical letter aswell which she refused to even look at. I have been to many different countries over the last 5 month since using this as medication and never once had an issue anywhere other than here. It is discrimination because i need to take medication. Back to my hotel room now as i cant bare to go through that again. Never again

The atmosphere of the venue looked amazing, the music sounded great, was a little busy but wasn't full and looked spacious which was perfect...however door staff had stopped entry and were turning everyone away because they "didnt have enough door staff on". Several couples and groups also got sent away after us, all of us looking a bit lost and depressed. Only 1 other venue was open on canal street so they missed out massively. Bit of a joke really. Went home after this.
George P — Google review
Horrible place, my girlfriend and I were regulars here but last time we visited while my partner went to the bathroom I was stood at a table looking at my phone, next thing with no warning I was dragged out by 3 bouncers who told me “the manager wanted me out” I asked to speak to him directly as I wasn’t drunk or being loud in any way, when he eventually came outside his reason for this was “I looked angry”. What kind of reason is this? After a discussion with him and no apology he allowed me back in but told all the bar staff not to serve me or my partner. Absolutely ruined the night and their reputation in one. We will never return to this bar.
Alex — Google review
I went to this bar with some friends while attending a birthday party in Manchester. The bar staff were extremely rude they barely looked at us and made the whole experience uncomfortable. Even though they did serve us, their attitude was so unpleasant that we eventually decided to leave. Especially the lad working at the bar upstairs.
Matteo — Google review
Expensive, pretentious and atmosphere not great. The staff weren’t rude in any but I felt like I was awkwardly right in their space if I sat downstairs and you feel really overlooked by the bar and the layout of all the seating makes you feel like you’re permanently in someone’s way. Even though it’s really clean it’s just not a relaxing space at all.

Wonderful and inviting atmosphere. Drinks were a very good price so I had quite a bit. The music choices were very well picked. I loved how there is three different rooms with each room having a different type of alt music. Will definitely be coming back. I do follow them on Instagram and I see that they do themed nights so I am excited to attend one in the future.

I had a great night here last week. Everyone was really friendly from the staff to the other customers. The drinks were reasonably priced and the music was great. There was a really nice, community atmosphere you only really find in rock clubs. The venue itself is pretty unique. Even the bouncer who chucked me out was an absolute gentleman (my fault he'd warned me an hour prior moshing isn't allowed). Assuming I'm not barred, I'd absolutely go back. 10/10

Loved it here. Went at the weekend and had a great time for my mates stag. Was in there for around 3-4 hours and the music was on point the whole time, mainly metal with the occasional drum and bass banger thrown in there. I will definitely be returning on my next night out in Manchester!

First time in Satan's Hollow this past Friday with the Girlfriend and our mate. Have to say, what an exceptional night. Great music, good value drinks and amazing staff. Bar staff are constantly on it. Drinks served fast and empty glasses collected pretty much straight away which meant the venue was always tidy and looked clean. Towards the end of the night we had a dude start pestering our friend, she wasn't interested, he wouldn't go away when asked to and started to become a problem, but security quickly intervened and escorted him out of the building. Really recommend this place if you're into alternative music. We for sure will definitely be coming back!

The White Hotel is a unique and exciting dance venue located in a remote industrial area in Salford, just outside of Manchester's city center. The club offers a surreal experience with its disused industrial space, pumping sound system, and enveloping smog, creating a proper underground rave aesthetic. Known for its no rules music policy, the venue hosts events like The White Hotel Presents series featuring esteemed selectors such as Underground Resistance, Batu, Helena Hauff, Anz and more.
Only my second time visiting to see live bands, but this is a great little venue. Drink prices are what you might expect, but not overly expensive. Special mention has to go to the person who does the sound. A fantastic sound system, with the band mixed in stereo, to great effect.
Paul F — Google review
What a place! What a night! There’s something truly unique about the White Hotel — raw, electric, and unforgettable. The iconic cross in the middle of the dancefloor gave it an almost sacred energy (French speakers will get the “White Altar” joke…). Coming all the way from Paris was definitely worth it. Hope to be back soon!

Great intimate venue with a friendly vibe. Never had a bad night here! Solid live acts and electronic nights. It's nicely tucked away too. So you can slope off in the morning light without anyone noticing your swinging jaw. 😂 Bonus! If you can find this pic Google will send you a free Sharpie!

Appalling treatment from security at 6:00am, 5 October. After sitting briefly to rest, a security guard ordered me to stand so he could take the seat. He was abrupt, didn’t ask politely, and as I moved he taunted “go cry.” I’ve been coming to The White Hotel for 5+ years and have never experienced behaviour this unprofessional. It reflects very poorly on the venue’s standards and vetting of staff. I hope management review CCTV, identify the guard on duty at that time, and take action and retrain their team on basic respect and customer care. I was given permission to take a stool from security in the first place - what a childish cohort of security you employ.
Amanuel J — Google review
The most incredible, quirky, personal and arty music venue. Cheap drinks too. Saw Bodega and Regressive Left play in this rough and ready ex-car garage. One of the best gigs I've ever been to, only wish I didn't live so far away!
Hayley L — Google review
Usually one of the best venues in Manchester, however recently the managing of events has been on a steep decline. Overselling tickets to events, with ticket holders having to wait outside due to the apparent one in one out policy, yet this is not stated anywhere on the website, even when ticket holders are in the queue way before the ticket entry deadline. No explanation and pure confusion in the crowd. Shoving and annoyed people, with staff providing little/no communication. Recent experiences have really swayed my opinion of the club, and from talking to people around me in the queue - which I was in for well over an hour despite all being ticket holders- these opinions are shared. Really disappointing.
Hanna R — Google review
I love this place. It is on an industrial estate & at first felt a bit nervous. Boy was i wrong. It's safe. The staff & audience were fabulous & inviting. It's not just art or music. It's an experience that enhances the music. I'd definitely go again.

Great drinks, well informed and courteous staff! The drinks are truly delicious, well worth the money! This review would be a five star, if it wasn't for the overly loud blaring reggae music being played over the sound system. It's a tiki bar, it's there for chill and social. You can't social when you can't hear each other over the music :p Won't stop me coming back, but perhaps some thought can be put into knocking the volume down a bit. Or at least get someone to lower the high end/treble so it's less painful on the ears :)

Came across this bar after having dinner next door and it houses over 100 different rums which the staff (especially James) were very helpful and knowledgable about. If you’re into rum, a beautiful “beach” location and incredible staff make sure you come down and keep an eye out for their new menu and make sure you ask James to help you choose a drink if you’re unsure ;) Also highly recommend trying the best rum on the bar Monymusk 2010, definitely worth the price point if Rum is your drink of choice!

If this is the case then it needs to be specified on the card if it has to be alcoholic because to me ‘purchase of a drink’ means any type of drink, soft or alcoholic.

Went here for a nightcap after an amazing night in freight island and wanted to take my better half in as this was known back in the day as spirit. Severely disappointed as it was quiet even at almost midnight. One point to make is if you go up to the smoking balcony watch the step! Nearly broke my ankle as the step was not clearly marked and it just seems you’re walking onto black flooring. The most disappointing and embarrassing is that the young ones seem to like taking photos in the same sex toilets upstairs. I’m not opposed to this set up as this is the norm in canal street, but the guy in the cubicle next to me was taking photos up high above the cubicles of his friends and my fiancé saw this and took great offence! As so he should as this is inappropriate! No one should be allowed to do this and none of the staff interacted. It was only when my partner intervened that security was called and he was told to leave! He was protecting a woman in a cubicle in a vulnerable position when others were apparently having fun. This is not on and should not be tolerated and management should take responsibility of what goes on in the premises. Avoid the venue at all costs!

Used to be one of the best places to go for a night out in the gay village, now it might aswell not even be a part of it. 80% straight men 20% queer people, I understand inclusivity but it’s to the point where you don’t even feel comfortable as a lesbian or a gay woman coming here as you’re the minority and constantly get single straight men hogging all the seats to sit and stare from the corners stone cold sober. My friend literally got punched and kicked onto the floor by a man and had a drink poured down her back here for rejecting him because she was with her girlfriend. The staff did kick him and his group of other straight single men out so atleast they stepped up when it was necessary but as far as them being banned or not, I’m not sure. I wouldn’t come here if you’re a lesbian couple or queer woman as you’ll likely just get harassed by the majority of the straight men in here who are let in on their own and in large groups of men, not a good night out anymore as you’re constantly getting leered at, judged and harassed by the sheer amount they allow in. Doesn’t even feel like a gay village crowd or atmosphere anymore, I can’t remember the last time I actually met a gay person in this bar.

Amazing atmosphere once you get past security. The security leaves a lot to be desired but if you can get past that, or they let you through, you will have a great time. Clean. Toilets where you can actually wash and dry your hands. All staff were great except security.
Sumu J — Google review
Crazy cheap drink prices. Absolutely no atmosphere and the staff all seem preoccupied and disinterested but the music’s loud, there’s a great smoking area and the drinks are ridiculously cheap. Gets uncomfortably hot when busy though, which isn’t that often anymore.

Nestled in the heart of Deansgate, Club Liv Manchester stands out as a premier destination for those seeking an upscale nightlife experience. This stylish nightclub boasts a spacious dance floor and offers table service, making it ideal for both spontaneous nights out and planned gatherings. With its chic ambiance, complete with LED walls and a lavish marble bar, Club Liv is perfect for students eager to immerse themselves in the vibrant party scene that Manchester has to offer.
Amazing table service with the nicest waitresses! Easy communication and booking, friendly staff who accommodated our needs during booking. People at the door so so, for some reason priority entrance was not given and we were asked to get into the queue....not sure why, but it was quick. So not an issue for us, but still! Clearly door staff should chill out. Luckily our night was not ruined by them.

Not even worth a star. Travelled 4 hours for a night out for my fiancés birthday. Had a vip table booked over a month in advance. Paid the deposit and reconfirmed it on the day when we got to Manchester as we added an extra person to our table which they said was fine. When we arrived at the club the little girl on the door said our names were not on the list. We showed her the confirmation and explained that we’d travelled 4 hours for this night out but she refused to help even after seeing the confirmation. All she done was refund our deposit. DO NOT BOOK AT THIS CLUB. Even after reconfirming on the day and after paying the deposit they still got it wrong. Never felt so offended by an establishment that should be trying to assist you. The little girl on the door was so rude and couldn’t care less even after admitting it was a mistake on their side they done nothing to attempt to make things right. Wish I’d checked the reviews before booking as it seems like a regular pattern. Not sure why these club staff feel they have to be hostile to their clients, surely the opposite approach is what people are paying for? Honestly, I can’t stress enough how badly managed this place is.

I recently visited this venue with the intention of scoping it out for a significant business event. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by unprofessional behavior at the entry point. I purchased three tickets in advance via their website, only to be told by one of the staff that there was an “error” and my tickets were invalid. A second staff member confirmed the tickets were valid, and we were eventually allowed in. I strongly believe that the first staff member’s decision was influenced by age discrimination. His attitude and the hassle he caused have led me to question the integrity of this establishment. Needless to say, I will not be considering this venue for any future personal or business events.
Kash H — Google review
This club operates unethically and is a scam. Do not buy tickets online because they'll refuse entry without a table booking and won't refund you. Despite advertising tickets at £20 for men and £5 for women, they'll still deny entry if you haven't booked a table, even with a purchased ticket. Advertising tickets while knowing entry requires a table booking is deceptive and immoral.

Extremely rude bouncers and it is not safe. Especially for girls!! I can’t emphasise more. Being push out of the club after an hour because one of the bouncers pushed me out of his way and I told him not to touch me. After that he continued to grab my arm and basically throw me out of the club. He must’ve been the head of the bouncers cause when I asked another guy from the security to help me he just looked at me and he didn’t do anything to help. First and last time going there. Girls stay safe up there!
06DiaDia — Google review
Travelled to Manchester for a night out yesterday. Only to wait in a queue for over an hour. A queue that bouncers had no control over to the point it was actually dangerous. They kept asking people to join a queue that wasn't even a proper queue. People entering the queue were just going to the edges and essentially jumping the queues. On busy nights they need to have longer barriers and also have bouncers on the outside to keep an eye on the queue. There were 8 of us in our group (1 male and 7 females). 3 of the girls were at the start of the queue and 5 of us just behind another group of lads of 3. The 5 of us were getting pushed and shoved therefore we left the queue after an hour to go to the front and ask how long it would be. One of the bouncers (Jay) had even seen us standing and waiting all that time. When we seen 3 of our group bring let it we spoke to the bouncer to say please can we go in as we had been waiting in the queue. The head bouncer Max said go in line go in line not listening at all to what we had to say he then proceeded to say I will not let you in. Right you're not coming in. We then went over to the exit area to the bouncer and said please could you let us in. He sent a text to one of the other bouncers and said go there and they will let you in. Again we approached and at this point Max even touched 2 of girls in our group moving them out of the way. He was rude and arrogant and had no control of the situation. Someone like this should not be not be in charge of doors! He couldn't even control the queue. Having someone line this will deter people from coming to the club at all.

Will never be returning to this club. Booked a table for my birthday. 7 of us spent over £90 each. Rude staff from the minute we walked in walked down the stairs to get told to walk back up the stairs. The table we got put on wasn’t the best but we put up with it as we knew they wouldn’t move us anywhere else. Tried to charge me more than said. Bottle price is ridiculous. Every staff member In there seemed to have a problem with anything we did. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone.
Ellie B — Google review
As described so many times already, this club most definitely is racist. Myself and two other black females were turned away as our “names were not on the guest list” despite us having confirmation on our phones. I’d like to add that we are pretty successful corporate women, and we were dressed accordingly - in hindsight, maybe even a bit too well for an establishment like Liv(!) This is actually a very clever way of ensuring the club cannot be sued for discrimination as it removes the notion that we were denied entry based on our race or how we looked, and rather on the fact that they couldn’t find out names on the list - even though we all know it’s B.S. Anyway, they did us a favour & saved us from spending our £££ there, as we were too good for a club like Liv, and we instead had a fabulous night elsewhere!

This lively destination has adapted creatively since the pandemic, transforming into a 'nightpub' to keep the dancefloor alive. Went out with my big brother and friends and we had a blast! Great vibes and even greater music the DJ was surprisingly brilliant! Drinks were pricy though I spent like £27 on just two doubles… best advice is to have your pre’s but within reason as they are selective on the door.

I think you need to have a conversation about hygiene with some of your new staff, there was an out right offensive smell coming from a staff member in the box office. New ‘ renovations’ have been made, the place now looks cheep and tacky. Overall an uncomfortable vibe as soon as we stepped through the door, will not be returning which is a shame as I used to be a regular.
Summer S — Google review
Worst club I’ve been to so far. It used to be one of my favourites however have recently gone very down hill. Other than the door staff, newer staff made me feel very uncomfortable with stares and conversations I’ve overheard from behind the bar about customers. The audacity of them to even make them is beyond me as they’re disgusting. Especially since the older staff who I have regularly been served by have always been amazing and the club has always felt like a safe space. Last time I went, there was a weird smell just lingering (not sure where it came from) which made me feel nauseous and there was no toilet roll in the women’s bathroom which is a basic necessity. As a young female I no longer feel safe in there due to the new staff and comments and would recommend people to be careful when going!! Who knows what could happen if they already feel comfortable to make disgusting comments about females.

The bouncers were amazing, a guy was being weird with us and they were immediately on it. Afterwards they were checking on us to see if we were okay. Definitely recommend good music and good vibe.

The Brewers in Manchester is a vibrant and diverse venue located on Canal Street. Despite being relatively new, it offers an impressive lineup of events, from glitzy drag parties to variety shows. The club's commitment to documenting its events is noteworthy, and it's a great spot for those who want both great cocktails and dancing. The energy of the LGBTQ+ community is palpable even from outside, with rainbow lights streaming out of the ornate windows.
Had a couple of pre gig cocktails here. Sadly though, it was at the tail end of bank holiday weekend and I got the impression the majority of the punters must have burned themselves out on the Friday , Saturday and Sunday nights. Great service and cocktails . Very communicative staff and great location . But unfortunately the place was lacking in customers. But I can well imagine the bar jumping and huge fun on a regular night 🍸🍹

What a gem of a place! Visited here a few times and it is always a brilliant night. Stood in the secure smoking area observing the Doorstaff separate the wheat from the chaff. Danced with a lot of people who were just being themselves. Great show at 1a.m and drink prices at a sensible rate! Bar staff all ideal staff for the venue and enhanced the experience. Highly recommend and so busy on a Tuesday!

As an international traveler I was pleasantly surprised at the way I was treated with my friends. There was understandable caution from the door team but after a positive interaction with the head door person we were allowed entry, there was quite a few of us . We all go out ID checked and that was humorous. The venue was just what we needed the place and the music was amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and we had had an absolute blast! Thank you so much everybody at the Brewers, credit where credit is due!

Incredible Service – Peter, Lewis, and Luke Are the Dream Team! Every time I come in, Peter, Lewis, and Luke make me feel completely welcome—like I’m part of the family. Their service is consistently outstanding, and they always go the extra mile with a smile. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality, but these three have absolutely nailed it. They’re the reason I keep coming back. Whether it’s their warm greetings, attention to detail, or just the great energy they bring, they’ve created an experience I genuinely look forward to every time. If you're looking for top-tier service and a team that truly cares, Peter, Lewis, and Luke are unbeatable. Highly recommend!

Nestled in the vibrant Deansgate Locks, Popworld Manchester is a trendy canal-side nightclub that perfectly captures the essence of urban nightlife. With its stylish decor and lively ambiance, this hotspot is ideal for those looking to dance the night away while reliving the best hits from the 90s and 00s. The venue boasts an impressive VIP area, club rooms, and inviting balconies overlooking the water—perfect for soaking up some sun during Happy Hour.
This was a fantastic venue for clubbing, with an electric disco atmosphere! The dotted lights above the disco floor top this up, while the luminous blue lighting and small elevated areas also contribute. Seating is fun to chill inside the lips and staff were friendly, serving me good bottles of Corona Extra!

Great little night club with a great atmosphere, we didn't have to wait too long to be served. The bar staff were all lovely and friendly, the DJ played some great music. Entry fee wasn't too expensive, the drinks were a bit expensive but that's to be expected these days. I would go back again.
Rachel Q — Google review
To put it simple for PopWorld Manchester, the venue is quite small compared to other nightclub locations and doesn't offer much of a dance floor space, not a big issue but something I noticed whilst there. The service I got provided was great the bar man serving me the whole night was chill and was calm and collective. Bouncers were helpful also. The main area that spoiled it for me was the DJ he played decent songs for the first couple of hours but as it got to the end he was playing boring non dance songs and stopped taking requests an hour before closing which seems ridiculous to me. If you're looking for a semi decent night pop world is your place. Friday was pretty dead so if you're planning on going Saturday will be your best bet.

Nothing like Popworld, all the songs are remixed. If you are looking for a good sing and dance you won't find it here, all the songs are played super fast, and never finished. Loads of drops that turn into nothing. Not 00's or 90's tunes. Could be any club

Chinawhite Manchester is a high-end nightclub located on Deansgate, offering a luxurious and exclusive experience for those looking to elevate their night out. While it may be on the pricier side and doesn't have specific student nights, it guarantees an unforgettable evening. With its long list of celebrity clients and a constant buzz outside, this London import stands out as one of the best clubs in Manchester.
Went here to celebrate my birthday, what I thought was the one really good R&B club in Manchester as it was my kind of vibe and my taste in music. I’d put me and my friends on the guest list and when we got there they looked us up and down and told us we couldn’t get in. Snobby if you ask me. They then let in a girl dressed in barely anything… in other words unless you dress like a stripper they ain’t letting you in. Fair to say I’m NEVER going again. Nobody looks down at me. We will go elsewhere. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Paid over a £1000 for a table on bank holiday weekend for everyone to be forced into one area and the rest of the club was empty. Full of tragic girls saying they’re invited as ‘influencers’ begging for alcohol from tables. Not a safe environment being pushed into one area and security not removing people causing problems. Also the club was holding onto alcohol we had paid for. Awful establishment. Tragic.

ADVOID AT ALL COSTS. Staff are RUDE! The lady manager blonde curly hair mix race on the door ADVOID her like the plague my girl needs a reality check thinks she's above everyone! News flash she's not! Door men needs to relise that badge does not make them something. Don't even attempt to book a vip table straight out sexist we booked for 8 of us 4 of male and female took one look at us girls absolutely fine one look at the the lads who met all criteria and then proceeded to tell us table has been taken! How it's still running I would love to know?! Go spend your money somewhere else the best place for this to be is run down into the ground. Go somewhere else and spend your money to enjoy yourself and not to fund this absolute shambles of a "club"! My first and last time visiting China White. I have always heard bad things about this club and was always reluctant to go here. I decided to give it a try halloween weekend. Had no trouble at the door getting in at around 1:30am. But once you are in… £15 entry. £12 for a single vodka and cranberry juice. About 5 girls for every 1 boy in there. And the girls that are there are so snotty and moody. Bad vibes. I stopped and looked around and noticed that literally no one is dancing everyone is stood around super awkward, on their phones and no one smiling. There is no dance floor. Only VIP tables. Anyone that isn’t on a VIP table is squished near the bar area. All that is at the bar area is thirsty girls dying to be pulled on to a VIP table. Finished my drink and left. Super bad vibes in here. There are much much better places to spend your Saturday night.

I and my friend bought the tickets but they said the tickets were oversold when we arrived and we didn’t get any notice before that. At the end, we were not allowed to get in. No vibes at all, people were stood around taking photos with their ringlights. The bouncer asked me if I had gum in my mouth coming in, when I said no he shone his torch in my mouth and asked to see under my tongue?? Am I at the dentist? We left after 10 minutes.

My phone was stolen/misplaced at an Animalz night. The staff went to hell and back to make sure that it was retrieved, from searching every corner of the venue to letting me use a staff member's phone for Find My functions, for almost 2 hours. It's nice to see a venue that genuinely takes care of its clientele.

I came across these reviews by accident having been there a few weeks ago and have to say I found the bouncers rather hostile too. I don’t drink alcohol so was sober when I was in there. I was approached by a very short bouncer with a ridiculous large red hat and he was very aggressive telling me I didn’t meet the dress code. He was downright hostile looking for confrontation. Save your money, there are better venues. Angry short little man.
Speak F — Google review
Listen to the bad reviews. Got told to take a walk and get some water 2 times even though I was sober and then finally let in. I went to the toilet and not only saw people be physically and verbally attacked by the bouncers (male and female) but then had the same happen to me for no reason at all. When I asked why they made fun of me and threw me out onto the street where when waiting for my uber all I could hear was them bitching about me. Avoid at all costs. Do not give this place your money when other LGBTQIA+ venues actually hold up the inclusive standards.

One of the very few locations around Gay Village that genuinely seems to cater to its LGBT audiences. Cruz has virtually no competition if you're looking for a late-night party. Big thanks to John and the bouncers for retrieving my belongings and genuinely taking care of me more often than they probably should!

From what I can see, a friendly environment for people (especially for special events) amazing service and friendly attitude. Lovely staff, lovely venue and just brilliant customer service. I want to thank Connor, Oliver, Shemas, Spencer, Winona and others for the event I attended 9th August. Thank you all for your amazing service today, the other times this event happens and in general. Keep on making your guests happy and for the fine times and you the laugh out loud moments!

Generally, not good. The place is really poorly managed (queues lasting far longer than they should have), the drink price information isn't accessible (they have one printed laminated A4 on a wall that's obscured) and when you get charged for your drink, you're met with an astronomical price. Save your money, save your time (unless you want to see a RuPaul queen in Manc, then just avoid drinking from the bar and make sure to get to the front otherwise you're not gonna see anything because it's a tiny stage and tall people couldn't care less about who is behind them)

Cocktail prices like in central London — for what, exactly? The place was almost empty. And the worst part? My unfinished drink was taken from the dancefloor without a word! I spoke to the supervisor, and guess what — nothing. It’s not even about the drink anymore, it’s the complete lack of respect and basic service. Totally disappointed.

Claims to be a LGBTQ night club but decided to hire a person who has purposefully harmed the LGBTQ and transgender community so much, to perform for the wicked after party. Elphaba Orion Doherty has mocked both communities including the autistic, Tourette, disabled and adhd community. The fact this venue hired him means they support self harm in front of a underage audience, animal abuse, violence and makes a mockery of transgender people. I can’t believe I’m writing this but I’m actually VERY disappointed with my food that I ordered at this place. I’ve driven by this shop a couple times & their big bold logo and banner is what caught my attention each time. I don’t live in the local area, so I had to drive down to check these guys out. I went inside and ordered my food, I paid a good amount for this as I had just gotten off work and was hungry. Tell me why my wings were burnt & covered with buffalo sauce, they were not fresh, juicy nor succulent..Chips were dead, not even seasoned properly and even the BBQ sauce couldn’t revive them & Last but not least, the Philly Cheesesteak tasted dry and very bland. I am a food connoisseur & I love trying need food and new places. Let me tell you..THIS? Was not up to standards. I know what good food looks & tastes like and this was not it what so ever!! I’m not even one to make a fuss about this but I would have asked for a refund on the spot had I known the food would disappoint me that much. I’m being generous even giving it 1 star. Honestly just having a big flashy sign isn’t enough when the food quality is poor? Do better guys!

I've been going to Mash's once (sometimes twice) a week for the best part of a year now on my lunch break with my colleagues and we all love it. The chicken burgers are delicious, and they have a solid variety of sauces to choose from for your chicken wings (honey barbecue is my fav). The food is consistently fantastic every time - it honestly puts other big name brands to shame. The owners are super friendly and the service is excellent too :)
Shaun G — Google review
some of the best food available in manchester not many people know they bread their tenders from fresh chicken not processed, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The fried tenders with Cool Ranch and Thai Fighter Sauce. INSANE. The grilled chicken is always beautifully cooked and flavoured as well :)
Anees S — Google review
Had some various food today. Beef burger, chicken burgers, prawns, wings. Must say all the food was nice and fresh. Not greasy and quality meat. Fast service and clean takeaway. Definitely worth trying it.
Shebby M — Google review
Wouldn’t even give one star. Brought food home to find the lettuce on the burger was practically rotting, brown and basically decomposing and has probably been in the fridge for a good few weeks. Being pregnant, I don’t think you’d want me complaining to environmental health to have a potential case of Listeria on your hands, but I think I might. No answer from the branch for us to complain directly to the incompetent employee about this either. I didn’t even bother eating the burger after scraping this off as it’s made me feel physically nauseous. Also didn’t have cheese on it despite the menu stating this is on the burger. First and last time, will NEVER be coming back again based on this experience alone.

Canvas Manchester, located on Oxford Road, was a popular late-night spot that closed in February. It was known for its community events, pop-up food stalls, and live entertainment. Guests praised the spacious rooms with great views and essential facilities. The location near the city center and Castlefield canals area was also appreciated. The cozy atmosphere and helpful staff added to the positive experience. Residents highlighted the well-organized events and top-notch amenities catering to a university lifestyle.
I had a fantastic month-long stay here. The place is exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I eagerly await my university acceptance to return here again. I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a pleasant stay.👍

Wang Z — Google review
I had the pleasure of living at Canvas for the entire two years of my course, and it has been an incredible experience from start to finish. The staff here are exceptionally helpful, conscientious, and kind, always going above and beyond to ensure that I have everything I needed. Their dedication truly made a difference in my stay, making me feel welcome and supported. The accommodation itself is beautiful, it is modern and well-maintained spaces and facilities. The communal areas are always neat and tidy, thanks to the cleaning staff, creating a pleasant and comfortable environment to live and study in. The rooms are spacious, with plenty of natural light and all the amenities a student could need. The best aspects of Canvas is its location. The walkable distance to the university made it incredibly convenient to attend classes and participate in campus activities. Additionally, the proximity to the city center was fantastic, allowing easy access to shops, restaurants, and entertainment options without really needing to rely on public transport. I would highly recommend Canvas to any student looking for a place that combines comfort, convenience, and a supportive community. My time here has been one of the highlights of my university experience, and I am grateful for the wonderful memories I’ve made. I’ll miss you guys 🫰💕
Titilayo A — Google review
Overall, it met my basic expectations. The location is great—quieter than Oxford Road. A convenience store is just a short walk away, making it quite handy. I stayed here for a year during my master’s degree and found the staff to be very friendly. The communal spaces, gym, and kitchen facilities are modern and well-maintained. However, the room itself was a bit disappointing. While the window provided decent ventilation, it also let cold air seep in during the winter months, and the heater would cut off every 20 minutes 😭. The water quality wasn’t ideal either, as it often contained dust and developed limescale quickly, requiring frequent cleaning of the bathroom to prevent unpleasant odors.

So rude,. Went to get advice on how to clean my shoes and the person there said and I quote 'oh a women taking accountability, I should record this'. Such a misogynistic man. Proceeded to be unhelpful and not answer questions. My friend was very uncomfortable and felt they couldn't ask, or say anything.

Event venue
Progress Centre, located in Charlton Place, Manchester, has undergone a transformation from hosting temporary summer parties to becoming a permanent outdoor club. The venue is set to host a series of large-scale parties throughout the summer. Visitors have praised the vibrant atmosphere and top-notch sound system at events like Hit & Run reopening rave. Some have suggested improvements such as addressing safety concerns related to the dance floor and offering daytime raves for those who prefer earlier hours for partying.
Awesome venue on a sunny day, great sound system and good vibes. Nothing wrong with the portaloos or crowding but it was sunny so lots of space to dance at the back. Slightly annoying, I was told by door staff that my bag wouldn't be allowed in but that the train station have bag storage, which I used (£10), but then later found out the cloak room did allow rucksacks and it would've been fine. Please make sure the door staff know this as they were adamant and wouldn't even let me try.
Tom L — Google review
We had 4 tickets (paid £28 each) which didn't disclose a last entry time. We came at 6:30pm to an event which was on 4pm-11pm and were originally turned away. We saw others experience the same. We the returned and explained that we had come from Sheffield and had bought tickets. We were then allowed in but my dad was turned away by the owner of the venue (she said her name was Ellen) who said that he could be at risk of being hurt. My dad was sober and displayed no physical weakness/limitations. The staff were extremely rude. We even spoke to the headline act (Chaos in the CBD) who was at the door and even he asked if they would allow my dad in but they then said they didn't have tickets scanners so were then turned away again. We stood by the doors for a while after and saw many other groups experience issues getting in. It looked very crowded when we looked over the fence. I believe they turned us away as they may have over sold tickets but tried to use different reasons as a scape goat. I'm not one to ever write reviews but we had this planned for months, we drove a long way to see the artist we had waited a long time to see, just to be treated very poorly. I hope this feedback con be used constructively. Maybe consider that this was for fans of music not just people on a random night out. Thanks, Chris.
Chris M — Google review
Reading the negative reviews I was anxious about attending. Was pleasantly surprised. Door staff very kind and respectful, crowd was a mix of young and older but still super friendly. Enough room to dance and some places to sit. I got lucky with sunny weather, can imagine when it’s raining it’s not as ideal due to the lack of cover. Had a great time. Leaving off one star due to the drinks and toilet queue.
Jengira B — Google review
The worst event space in Manchester. Always dangerously oversold. 0 room to dance. People getting crushed. Had to drag a girl out the crowd in tears coz she was getting crushed. Organisers have no consideration for your experience, they just sell nearly double the tickets they should. Should be shut down.
Liam M — Google review
PLEASE stop over selling these events. The capacity was ridiculous, there was no room to move around and dance. The lack of space meant we were stood in the outside area which could really do with more speakers and better vibes. It’s such a shame because we were extremely excited to see Kolter but it’s not an enjoyable experience when you sell too many tickets for the space.
Olivia H — Google review
As a local resident, I have started hearing the noise from this place on weekends. Not really a problem until 11pm but they seem to have after parties playing until gone 4am? It’s 4:08 writing this & the MCing has stopped but the bass is still rumbling.
Neverget M — Google review
Horrible neighbours. The sound is so loud every Saturday, I have to leave the house just to get away from it. The council have told them and they still keep the music so loud. I don’t even live right next to it so I can’t imagine how neighbours that live closer are feeling. Makes me wonder how many complaints they have received. Why don’t you spare a thought for the local community?
Sara A — Google review
Security staff are awful. When leaving security was aggressive and punched my boyfriend in the face when he didn't immediately bin his can even though he was yet to reach the bins. Then the security punched me in the face, then removed his uniform and ran off to avoid being held accountable by the others. Halo security, in particular Mark number 0260, escalated the situation and made everything 100x worse.

Intimate club space with a nice atmosphere, did feel a bit too packed out though. Friendly bouncers/door staff and there's a little lounge room if you want to escape and relax for a bit. The main problem is the toilets- not enough of them, long queues.
Aimee S — Google review
All great until they cut the show off 2 hours early. Cut the lights and music without warning, and kicked everyone out. Not enough tickets sold. Ridiculous. Everything was great up until this, but it's unacceptable as a club to do this in the middle of an event.

Closes at 3am because "not enough ticket sold" even if the event was sold ending at 5am. Scandalous, will never come back again

Really disappointing experience, event shut off early due to poor ticket sales. Slippery unsafe stairs, poorly lit and security staff left to escort very unhappy customers off site. Total lack of accountability and real shame given the line up and potential.

Went for a comedy night for a friends birthday. Compare not funny and seemed to think bullying us was acceptable (saying we were disrespectful for talking, we were not talking) god forbid you laugh wrong and do not heckle! Just sit quietly and do as you are told!! Would not recommend. On the plus side the audience was funnier than the acts. Also the bar staff were lovely.

The bar staff were friendly and overall great night. There was a particular bartender who was being great at the bar but however in the bathroom came across to me as passive agressive and provocative. He had told us it was one person policy to the bathroom, so i left. My friend was then talking about how rude he was (NOT me) unknowingly to us he had came back in. He then came over to me again very rudely like he wanted an argument and told me to finish what i was saying even though it wasn’t me who was saying anything and i had previously warned her to stop when he came back in due to the disrespect that would show on our end. Gave me a “good cause otherwise youll be leaving”. Overall very rude experience as he had opened the door while said girl was undressed as well.

Booked a table for lgbt comedy night. 18.30 start. Still hadn't started at 19.30. Chairs very uncomfortable and crammed in. Toilets filthy and no soap so we drank bottled beer only. Staff were pleasant. Show itself had a great headliner but the other acts admitted they were nervous and it was only their 3rd time performing! We wouldn't have booked an amateur night if we'd known. Sitting around for 3 hours and about 60 mins of show.

Lovely bar staff Liya & Iran? Drinks are really expensive though but the drink brands are cheap. Jäger master was a cheap alternative which brought my overall stars down.

This area claims to be wheelchair accessible to event organisers but it's not. It's disgraceful that they continue to lie like this when it's so clearly inaccessible to most folks with mobility issues. Steer clear!

Well the atmosphere was great, the compare, DJ, ABBA and Lady Gaga were fabulous 👌. Had a great afternoon celebrating. The food wasn't anything extravagant BUT for a bottomless brunch it was well worth the value. The staff and in particular Sophie were so friendly and we felt totally looked after. I can confirm is a place to avoid absolutely. The workers including the desk staff are lazy unprofessional and moody, especially Isabella. Went there on Monday 29/07/24 8.40 pm The worst experience with the girl name elina She’s was hesitant to even open her legs And after literally five minutes she said if you don’t come in one minute I’ll walk out Just wast of money And when I complained at the desk staff That middle aged woman give me terrible attitude, like you’re not welcome anyway Hope whoever in charge will deal with them.
Mike C — Google review
Do like the place for the price, and convenience but it looks the same now as it did 20 years ago, not been redecorated or cleaned since. Girls vary from fit to not. If a few aren't busy they're all seated cross legged with their hands crossed in front of them holding their knees, all to hide their belly gut. If you call ahead to ask about the girls you get names only, if you ask for details (so you can decide if the girl is to your taste) you'll get false numbers for their figures. If they tell you a girl is waist 8-10 she's probably a 12. You ask which girls are available now because you could be there in 10 minutes they tell you all 5 but when you arrive they're all busy. It's not a bad place but the deceit on the appearance of the girls and their availability is aggravating as it wastes your time, could stay at home and knock one out instead.

Oh no seating area so would probably take a fold away chair next time .

Went here for taco town. What a rip off, it cost us £20 each in then £7 a pint and a fiver for a thimble full of rum. There was only about 7 stalls and the queung was a joke and the size of the tacos for the price was laughable... We only stayed half hour as decided our money was better spent elsewhere. Never again!
