If you like great food at a reasonable price, the central market is waiting for you. SO MUCH FOOD! Everything was fresh and was as alluring to the nose as it was to the palate. So much variety, you will hardly know where to start. It's even fun if you're not hungry... just walk around and take it all in. Definitely recommend!

The best open market I’ve ever visited. Traditional meeting the modern in a wonderful mix. Vegetables, fruits, nuts fish, poultry, beef, clothes and lot of other things. I will be back.

I visited Riga Central Market, and it was such a vibrant experience. The market is huge and full of life you can find just about everything here, from fresh flowers and local foods to meats, cheeses, spices, and handmade goods. It’s a great place to discover authentic Latvian flavors and everyday life. The market is set inside historic old Zeppelin hangars, which gives it a unique and impressive atmosphere. Each pavilion specializes in different products, making it easy to explore and sample a wide variety of items. I especially enjoyed seeing the fresh produce stands and traditional Latvian treats. It’s not just a place to shop—it’s also a cultural experience, perfect for walking around, tasting, and soaking in the local vibe. Nice and quick lunch spot in the gastronomy market they have different restaurants where you can have local food and buy local cheeses and souvenirs. A nice quick stop in the city. Haven’t take any picture of the dumplings but they were very good.

Great place to sample the local food. There are plenty of fruit and veg stalls, flower stalls and clothing stalls as well as a food market inside. They sell all the traditional dishes for extremely reasonable prices so a great way to eat like the locals. It’s a vibrant, buzzing area that’s definitely worth a visit.

This place is just HUGEEEE! Lots of different departments, one for fruit, veg, others for meat, fish. cheese, deserts. All different ranges and prices depending on who you buy from. Some prices get cheaper along the way. There is a food department where you can eat lots of food again, depends where you want to eat and what you want to eat. But it is so big you’ll definitely leave with something. Clothes also. We walked here as we seen it was difficult to get parking 🅿️ There was a dumping food stall that was just … beautiful 😍 it’s hard to get a seat because in the food area lots of people are piled up.

A very wide assortment of articles on offer in the five former zeppelin hangars and at stall outside. Numerous local specialities at sensible prices. The fish names were especially confusing. Just a short walk from the train station and bus stops.

We had the tasting menu together with the non-alcoholic beverage selection. Everything was excellent – fresh, creative, and perfectly prepared. The service was very friendly, attentive, and explained the menu in detail, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself has a very nice atmosphere and is tastefully decorated, which makes the whole evening feel even more special. A great place in Riga for a memorable dining experience.

A highlight during my time at Riga. I was lucky enough to score a reservation and had a very early dinner. The space was charming with different sections, food has a modern twist to it (e.g., fish soup had notes of lemongrass to give it that freshness). Loved the layering of flavours and the playful aspect when eating bread. Highly recommend.

Visited in Sep 2025 3 Pavaru Restorans is a top restaurant to visit in Riga as per multiple online lists. It was also recommended to visit by one of my tour guides. Therefore I made a dinner reservation here during my recent visit to Riga. There is an a-la-carte and tasting menu here. We went with the tasting menu as it seemed a very good option to try out the various dishes the restaurant has to offer. There are a couple of complimentary amuse bouche courses before the 6-course tasting menu starts. There was also an extra palate cleanser course before the 2 main courses. Among the tasting menu items, my favourite items were the scallop and lamb courses. Service was fine. For drinks, we just ordered a couple of a-la-carte drinks from the drinks menu. For those interested, there is an alcoholic and non-alcoholic pairing available with the tasting menu too. In summary, this was a good dining experience. If you are spending 3-4 nights in Riga, this is a good place to choose for dinner during one of the days.

If you’re looking for a restaurant with real values, seasonal food, and a place where every tiny herb is picked with care - this is it. I adore it. Wow! What a fantastic restaurant! Put this on your Riga ‘must visit’ list. This is a special occasion, rather than an everyday place but as a treat, it’s reasonably priced. The food was exceptional, with a wonderful surprise to start with off a sheet of different homemade sauces and gorgeous homemade bread to dip in. I visited Latvia for the first time, and if you're looking to experience local food, this is definitely the place! There was a wide variety of choices, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is amazing for kids. I would definitely return.

Very delicious food 🥘 – always fresh, hearty, and homemade-style. The halls are always clean, cozy, and filled with the amazing smell of food. In my opinion, this is the most atmospheric dining place in Riga! And the pancakes 🥞 at Lido are pure love ❤️. I like to joke that they’re the reason to come back to Latvia again and again.

This is one best food places in Riga. Do not overload your plates and your tummy will be happy afterwards! Affordable and very tasty. Can get busy and peak times but plenty odnspace to sit down outside and downstairs if weather not on your side. Highly recommended! Everyone will find something for themselves.

Must come place! Huge variety of high quality food items including vegetarian meals. In one place you could try Baltic, Latvian, Russian, Ukrainian, Scandinavian dishes. And you won't believe how affordable they are! Three stories high, free parking, free public washrooms. Incredible architectural design - all wooden structures, made from huge logs.

Latvian famous restaurant chain, it is a must do when visiting Riga. The food is ok, don’t expect 5 stars meal. It’s an affordable self restaurant place and the food is good for canteen style place! Pleasant experience

If you love noisy organized chaos and endless choices of food, snacks, desserts and drinks then Lido is your place but not for those of us suffering badly from gluten sensitivities. Of course there are gluten-free options but the information you have to check it carefully yourself and the contamination risk is very high if you're extremely sensitive to gluten. I settled for a glass of gluten free strawberry mousse in vanilla sauce which was absolutely delicious and filling, worth a revisit as well. The place is large, huge, a really vast area with different kitchens and menues. The building is divided into many different sections and the patios in a variety of many brightly decorated exteriors, similar to an amusement park. Lido is also easily accessible by public transportations from Riga city center. Very easy to get there by any bus or trams.

Well worth visiting for the food alone. I was there "between the seasons" so not all the bells and whistles going on in the yard theam park. The food is good and so plentiful. The self service almost make it hard to choose among so many dishes. Suitable for all ages.

This restaurant is located perfectly between the old town (historical) and the new part of town. The entire place has a great feel. Even when you are inside it feels like you are sitting outside due to massive windows. The place is decorated beautifully. My server was this young Latvian man who was very polite and informative with a great sense of humor. The food was simply delicious. Well cooked meal and fresh salad with a great glass of wine. I highly recommend Kolonade if you happen to be in Riga!

Mixed Experience During a Special Birthday Dinner I visited Kolonāde during Restaurant Week in Riga for a special birthday dinner, which I had informed the restaurant about in advance. I even mentioned that I wouldn’t mind any additional cost for making it a special occasion. Upon arrival, we received a warm and pleasant welcome, setting high expectations for the evening. After selecting our dishes, we ordered drinks — I chose a wine pairing for each course, while my companion ordered a few drinks, of which only one was served. The complimentary amuse-bouche was tasty, and the duck terrine was superb — beautifully executed and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the cabbage rolls with Greenland prawns were a real disappointment. The prawns were tough and overcooked, which was surprising and disheartening given the restaurant’s fine-dining reputation. When dessert arrived, I expected a small gesture such as a candle or sparkler to mark the birthday — especially since I had mentioned the occasion ahead of time — but there was nothing special added. Finally, when paying, I politely asked to round up the amount to include the tip, but that request was overlooked, which left a slightly awkward impression at the end of the evening. Overall, if the missing drink had been served, the prawns cooked properly, and a small birthday touch acknowledged, this would have easily been a 5-star experience. The atmosphere and parts of the meal were excellent, but the missed details made the evening fall short of expectations.

Splendid dinner at Kolonade! Joined colleagues from around the world for a nice dinner in Riga, Latvia. This restaurant is ideal with its beautiful views of the park and optional open windows. Fantastic (and awarded) wine list. We enjoyed a couple bottles of beautiful premier cru Chardonnay. The food was wonderful as well, including the smoked rosemary and chili shrimp, seared tuna, and chocolate tart. Excellent atmosphere and friendly service to boot. Highly recommend!

Very flavourful, very relaxing and felt very satisfied with the food. Worth it!

At first the waiting times were quite long, but it didn't bother me too much. Our waitress was great and the food even better. We had the cheaper wines to go with the menu and I enjoyed them very much.

It was our first night in Riga and we walked from our hotel for about 15 mins. The restaurant was booked inside, but we were in the bar area. We actually quite enjoyed that space. The waiting staff were friendly and explained the dishes. We went with the tasting menu. The food was very pretty and we got 2 starters and 2 mains. I have to agree with some of the other comments. The starters came out quickly, but the mains took some time. We did get some very clever flavours and things that make you think about what is it that you are eating. There is no doubt that it was expensive. We would still recommend you to give it a try.

I tried the new menu on the first day of opening. The kitchen was a little slow, since it was both the first day with a new menu and they were handling a large group. That being said, all the dishes were excellent. The new wine pairings complemented the food well. There’s always room for improvement, but I definitely recommend this place—especially if you’re focused on the food. The tasting dinner costs only €65 per person, which is a steal for the quality you get.

Entresol is totally worth it! 5 courses for 55 euros, all of which were above average, along with a couple of standouts. If Michelin came to Riga, Entresol would absolutely have a shot at a star. Not everything might look super polished/refined, but the flavor of the dishes makes up for that (and flavor is what ultimately matters). Also big points for super kind/friendly service. Definitely worth it for a night out without overly breaking the bank.

Great dinner and excellent service!

Totally ok food, great service but lacks that final piece of the puzzle to get there. All dishes looked good but not everything tasted that terrific. We had a 5-course tasting meny with a wine pairing which should come in at approximately €70 per person. We ended up with a tab that said over €110 per person not having taken into account some other charges, including their self-charged "tip" and the €60 they charged us for water. I wouldn't recommend this place for its tasting menu, that is for sure.

I was having dinner there during the restaurant week. Very good food and tasty combinations to explore goods from the sea. I appreciate the old fashioned way to get a glass of wine instead the modern device they had that prickled your glass. Other than that all good.

The pacing between dishes needs significant refinement. From the time the amuse bouche was served, it was a whole 20 minutes before the next dish arrived. The dishes were all quite heavy with cream sauce. I would prefer a lighter, thinner consistency. Overall, the dishes lacked creativity. The heavy cream sauces overshadowed any potential for originality.

Well, where do I begin? Let's start with the welcome, which was lovely. We chose the tasting menu, so we started with champagne and some oysters. Then the tasting menu commenced. Each course was delicious, and was supported by the sommelier explaining his choice to accompany the dish. Each selection worked perfectly. This was an unforgettable experience, completely delicious, made even better by the wonderful staff. I can't recommend Barents enough, you won't be disappointed.

Definitely the most exquisite dining experience in Riga. It would be an understatement to say that Barents actually deserves a Michelin star (or even two). The service is impeccable, the food is top-notch. Definitely recommend the chef’s 12-course testing menu. All the dishes were absolutely unique and inspired by quintessential Latvian flavours and ingredients. Would recommend it to anyone, simply 10/10.

The food was good, but somehow not reaching top level of enjoyable or excellent. Except bread, that was the best bread I have ever had and accompanied nicely, and for that alone five stars. I had a la carte three course meal, smoked eel least favourite, venison nice, rhubarb dessert the best of the three and with most interesting taste combinations. I suspect my personal taste differs from the chef's concept, still it was undeniably quality food and an enjoyable meal. The service was good.

Visited in Sep 2025 Folkklubs Ala Pagrabs was recommended to us as the most popular bar amongst locals. Therefore decided to pay a visit after dinner. Conveniently located in the old town of Riga, this watering hole is a truly happening place. We tried a few Latvian beers which were quite good. Didn’t try any food as we visited the place after dinner, but there is a proper food menu for those wanting to visit this place for food & drinks. You should surely try the local Latvian beers available on tap here. I would definitely recommend visiting this local watering hole if you want to experience a local bar scene and want to try some proper Latvian beers.

We had such a great time that we went back twice. It was full both times so we ended up at the bar but we had a great time there. They do have great garlic bread but the meal servings are so large that it might be a mistake to order it too. All the food we had was really good, and we tried a huge variety of drinks: the lager tasting flight, hot Riga black balsam in red currant juice (the way to do it), the local moonshine (infused liquor), the burning beer (very good for sipping!), a local cider, and an anise-flavored liquor that was very sweet. Our bartender, Laura, gave a ton of context and suggestions and we were lucky to run into her both times. There was also live music and the atmosphere was great. Great place to eat and hang out for a while. Prepare to be flexible if you don’t make a reservation. It got pretty noisy on Saturday night but not to a bad level.

This place was recommended by our local tour guide. We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant. I ordered the grilled pork ribs in beer marinate and it was hands down one of the best dish I’ve ever had. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and melted in my mouth. Also our waitress recommended the traditional battered chicken fillet folk club style, which was creamy and juicy inside. We loved their ginger beer (ingwer beer). It was refreshing and a perfect pairing either way our meals. The waitress was incredibly attentive, friendly and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Highly recommend!

Ribs were 10/10, best ribs I’ve ever tried Vibe and service was great. From Wednesday till Sunday they have live music and Latvian shows. Definitely a good place to try. Better to reserve as it gets very busy.

Amazing place. A must visit when you come to Riga. We were lucky - that evening there was a live band concert - the performers are unreal, exciting and do not let you be sad. Great place, easy to find, right in the old town. I recommend booking a table during an event - a place to sit is guaranteed. The waiters are nice and helpful, fast. The menu has a large selection - both food and drinks. We tasted everything and shared dishes. The portions are large in my opinion. The food is very, very tasty.

This is a must go place when visiting Riga..!!! Had visited the place for dinner around 7:30 pm and oh boy the place had a fantastic vibe…!!! The staff here is extremely helpful they arranged a table even though the place was full…!! The best part is there was a live band playing songs…!!! Top notch restaurant that keeps delivering. Reliable choice for special occasions. We recently celebrated a family event and the lunch was impeccable. We sat inside. The restaurant also has additional seating on the terrace. The service was very attentive and professional with drinks and dishes served in proper order and at the right temperature. The food was great. Big portions, all ingredients fresh and flavourful. The restaurant has one of the most extensive food menus in the city, with plenty to choose from. They also occasionally offer seasonal menus. Last summer we tried chanterelle dishes from chefs special selection and it was great too. This time round we stuck to classics like ox cheeks, steak, lamb, seafood and salads. All dishes were very well executed. I must also mention the quality of drinks. A place in Riga that can deliver a decent pisco sour is a great find. Thank you Riviera team for making our celebratory lunch so enjoyable.

An excellent spot for lunch or dinner - every single dish was outstanding. Even discovered a great Riesling that wasn’t overly sour like most you find in restaurants. From now on, this is my favorite restaurant in Riga. ❤️ Will definitely be coming back! 👏🏻 The only thing that could be improved is the bread that’s served before the meal, but aside from that, everything was absolutely perfect. 👌🏻

The service is very slow, initially we got the appetizers but main dosh came after one hour. Also service was not in balance some of us got appetizers and main dish at the same time, and some waited for soup for more than 50 minutes. Besides that food was very tasteful.

Absolutely fantastic. A must visit if you want to try a really good food with an exceptional service. If you are into meat - it's perfectly cooked, if you are into fish - it has variety and tastes great. And desserts are nearly perfect.

As for the food, honestly, the only thing I enjoyed was the bread served at the beginning. Everything else made me feel sick—the ingredients didn't seem fresh, and that’s likely the reason.🫤🫤

Perfect place for trying black balsam, I ordered some kind of menu with different flavours- highly recommend this option. Ladies working there was super nice, the vibe and the place is stunning. Be careful- the black balsam is indeed a black magic 😁

Probably a bit touristy but that's the old town for ya. Was fun to try the different balsams on offer in a dark, quirky but fun atmosphere. Definitely should have tried the chocolates but that will be for next time. Just a fun little experience even if it's catered towards tourists.

Gorgeous building with incredibly detailed interior architecture filled with the warmth of candles, old timber, brass, cast iron, artisan chocolates, locally made drinks and friendly staff. OVERALL: Highly recommend. I went back a few times and strongly suggest it as a great tucked away place where you can hear and hold conversations with larger groups of friends/family... Easily seating 10+ or couples or even as a unique business meeting environment.

Visited in Sep 2025 The Black Magic bar in old town is the most popular bar in Riga due to its menu full of items made using Riga Black Balsam. They have a full cocktail menu where Balsam is one of the ingredients in the drinks, and also have food items where Balsam is a component. We ordered a couple of cocktails (the Black Mojito and the Fresh Black Cranberry) both of which were good. Also ordered a few chocolate truffles which I would also recommend ordering, as they were fantastic. However, if you want to buy bottles of Balsam, you’re better off buying it from a supermart (Rimi) then here because the prices are cheaper in the supermart. Service was fine. We did not have a reservation and did a walk in, and were able to get a seat immediately. But this place can get a bit crowded, and therefore visiting during peak hours may be better with a reservation. Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit to the Black Magic Bar when you’re in Riga for trying a few cocktails.

This place looks amazing inside, and the atmosphere gets even better with the candlelight. I went in to make a short break from exploring the city and it was an experience in itself. I really enjoyed sitting and relaxing here for a bit. The only downside is that the truffles did not meet my expectations, so I would suggest skipping them altogether and just enjoying a cup of coffe.

This place is themed and a tourist hotspot, but it is done well, and the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is celebratory. They specialise in sweet treats and the local drink Balsam - try the cherry before the classic to ease you in. Can't recommend enough, real candles, a wonderful aesthetic and friendly welcome - what more could you want. Plenty of seats inside and through the back.

Exceptional, high quality, and delicious food. Everything we tried was prepared and served perfectly. I can understand the hype around this restaurant. They are busy, almost all the time. But for a good reason. The sushi was some of the best I've ever tried. Service can be a bit slow, but understandable. Definitely make a reservation well in advance. My evening at The Catch in Riga was truly exceptional, a delightful exploration of Japanese cuisine. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance – stylish and contemporary yet inviting and comfortable. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and helpful, expertly guiding us through the drink menu and offering thoughtful pairings for our chosen dishes. His recommendations enhanced the entire dining experience. To begin, we shared the Hamachi, Beef Tataki, and Scallops. The scallops were absolutely incredible! They were paired with a butter sauce that was to die for. It was like a symphony of flavors that left me feeling incredibly satisfied. After that, we tried some rolls: Tuna truffle, Spider, Hamachi, and prawns tempura. Each roll was meticulously prepared and bursting with flavor. The prawns tempura stood out. The cocktail selection was equally impressive. I started with the refreshing YuzuZuzu. However, the Electric Bazzer stole the show. This unique cocktail was different from anything I've tasted before, with a secret ingredient that added an intriguing and delightful twist. It's an absolute must-try for anyone seeking a memorable cocktail experience.

It was a very nice experience! Food was really good! Company of 5, food came in fast but only - separately - not bad but first person little felt shy about eating while other still waited. Great fresh seafood and fishes. Perfect sashimi. Though the rolls were very common and rather bland. I was very lucky to be served by a very experienced and helpful waitress. Sorry to say, the other staff did not seem to be experienced nor attentive.

Very tasty and fresh food. Dragon roll with eel was our highlight. Good wine selection with afforfable prices. We were there with our 5-year-old, and she was welcomed as a real guest, with menu recommendations according to her taste. Color pencils and coloring pictures were also offered to keep everyone happy. Dogs are welcome, and they get water.

The appetizers were a hit, with nicely portioned and seasoned. However, the entrees were mostly misses. We ordered their special lobster roll, which had barely any lobster. It was priced at 30+ euros, which is a lot, and we expected at least two lobster tails, not just one. The risotto had an interesting flavor, slightly sour because they used seaweed as the base, but the seaweed tasted pickled, releasing that sourness into the dish. The combo was not tasteful. The beef was probably the best entree, but unfortunately, the size was just too small for what it was. Overall, it was good, but not great.

Visited in Sep 2025 The dinner at Tails was undoubtedly my best meal in Riga during my visit to the city. Located near the beautiful Art Noveau neighbourhood of Riga, Tails is a wonderful restaurant specialising in fish preparations. I found out about the restaurant via the Michelin guide and made a reservation. There was an a-la-carte menu as well as a tasting menu. I went with the tasting menu which comprised 10-11 courses. One of the very interesting starting courses was the bread which was kind of made in front of me. There were some very interesting and delightful courses like the beaver meat, the eel and the sturgeon fish, all of which I loved. The other main course of the short ribs was also delicious. The “chaga” dessert course was also wonderfully unique. Service was fantastic and the restaurant staff did an excellent job in explaining the different courses. For drinks there was a cocktail and mocktail menu. I ordered a couple of cocktails and they were quite nice. All in all, I would 200% recommend visiting this restaurant if you’re in Riga. Tails is doing a wonderful job and I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here.

We saw this on YouTube the week before we came to Riga. It sounded so unique, we needed to try. Got ourselves a late lunch after the KGB museum. We started off with 3 mains to share, but then had to get a fourth as we thought the first 3 dishes were so good. The waiters were great and they were very attentive. Definitely worth the visit. —- We had to go back again the next day to try the other dishes. Today, we tried the seafood tartar. The air dried fish gives the seafood stronger flavours as well as a firmer texture. We tried the halibut and the turbot. We were surprised that they offered the 300g turbot as a whole fish. Thought the fishermen might have let the smaller fish back in the sea for them to grow. (Apparently not.) Both fish had a firm flesh and the taste is “sweet”.

It is worth a visit. I tried the degustation menu and was quite impressed by the presentation and taste. Not all dishes were to my liking 100% but that is a matter of personal taste. The quantity is more than enough. Wine and drinks selection is good as well. Some of the staff are very friendly and talkative, others not so much.

Outstanding seafood - visited twice on a long weekend trip and very much enjoyed the dry aged fish. Wonderful flavour pairings and innovative cuisine - dishes that look like art while maintaining exceptional flavour.

Yes! Yes! Yes! - bagels 10/10: they are REAL chewy yet soft (not just donut shaped bread) and freshly made, and so are their fillings - I was there early Sunday morning and they were prepping in full swing. - prices 10/10: it seems they forgot that inflation exists (check photo). - inclusivity 10/10: LOTS of vegetarian, pescetarian, vegan options available. - taste 10/10: I bought plain ones for home (1,5 eur each) and they even taste great thawed from the freezer! - atmosphere 8/10: it's a small space with only two tables, so a romantic dinner wouldn't be your best bet. Go in, have an amazing bagel (actually have two!), continue touring Riga. Overall mostly recommend for two things: taste and value for money.

We really enjoyed our visit for a late lunch in FERMA! We had the Restaurant Week set tasting menu, which was delicious and full of delightful surprises and additional mini-courses. My friend didn't like how the meat was cooked, and the chef kindly re-done it for them. Would definitely come again!

After reaching out in advance, the brilliant Chef Nils Ģēvele (Michelin Young Chef Award 2023) created a bespoke 7-course tasting menu just for us—none of it was on the regular menu! Every dish was exceptional: • A miso broth served in a pesto-rimmed glass with wildflowers and a smoked tofu skewer—umami-rich and beautifully balanced. • A creative take on a deviled egg, gently smoked and paired with asparagus ribbons. • Venison tartare with emulsified egg yolk and vibrant garnishes—full of texture and flavour. • White fish cooked perfectly with a silky, roe-studded sauce. • Tender Wagyu beef with white asparagus, peppercorn sauce, and crisp potatoes—absolutely sublime. • A pre-dessert berry sorbet with bee pollen and sugar discs over a berry compote—playful and refreshing. • And finally, a unique mille-feuille with strawberries and intense strawberry dust—pure magic. The sommelier’s wine pairings were flawless, enhancing every dish with elegance and insight. The service was warm and attentive from start to finish. Chef Nils and the team, led by founder Māris Astičs, made us feel truly special. If you’re in Riga and love food, Ferma is a must-visit. We will never forget this evening!

We recently had a family wedding dinner at Ferma, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional, every dish was beautifully prepared, full of flavour, and perfectly timed throughout the evening. The staff were brilliant and so attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly. The timing of everything, from the drinks and food to the desserts, was spot on. They even went the extra mile by assisting with our own cake and providing plates for it, which made things so easy for us. It truly felt like the team at Ferma cared about making our celebration special, and they succeeded in every way. I would highly recommend Ferma to anyone looking for top-quality food, professional service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would!

Absolutely wonderful dinner experience. Every course was first class, the wine list has a fantastic variety of wines and had some really good value options. Can't speak highly enough of the service, everyone was really warm, professional and lovely!

The food was really good and makes it to the top 10. The service was also friendly, but despite speaking fluent English, there were some misunderstandings. The waiter also changed several times during the evening, which weakened the experience.

What a fantastic spot! All the great reviews are absolutely right — so glad we came. If you love foie gras, game meat, or beautifully crafted cocktails, this place is a must. Even if you’re just after a great steak, you’ll be happy here. The food is top quality, prepared with care, and the service is outstanding — friendly, warm, and professional. I loved the wild pigeon with foie gras, my husband was blown away by the wild deer, and the monkfish with bisque was amazing too. The foie gras dish alone is worth the visit! Cocktails are excellent — try the “Sip of Italy” — and the wine list is spot on. Dessert was lovely, though I was pretty full by then :) Wish we’d found this place earlier. Just go — and make sure you book!

Excellent choice of meat in a fancy ambiente. We enjoyed the quality food and the drinks and had a chilled evening with our children. The price tag is a bit (too) high - roughly 50 Eur for a piece of meat without sides can be found cheaper for equal quality. Service was friendly and attentive.

We had a wonderful dinner at Chef’s Corner! Everything was absolutely delicious — we tried cold appetizers, tartare, carpaccio, and scallops, and every dish was perfect. The cocktails were excellent too. Special thanks to our waiter, Jānis, for his attentive and friendly service — he made the evening even better. We definitely want to come back again and highly recommend this place to everyone!

Unfortunately it's below average, the waiter was below average, the meat quality is below average, I guess the Chef as well, I ordered a medium steak it was well done, the taste isn't good either, we ordered the pigeon well done and it was rare, no complimente nothing. There are much better places in Riga especially for steaks. The starters we're good. But overall experience was not good for that price category. Go to Steaks i.e. if you want to eat a good one.

Incredible interior! Helpful staff, cheap food and central location. It's inside the train station. The couches are made of concrete. Hundertwasser and Gaudi would have been proud. Our table neighbors brought their own bottle of vodka, but I don't know if that's a regular thing. It added a lot to the atmosphere. Harry had a hard time deciphering the menus, which resulted in him not eating dumplings at a dumpling only restaurant. Instead he had a vegetable soup that tasted "nice, no, wait - great".

It's a fast food place located inside the train station (in fact it's under the railways). You can have soup and/or dumplings (price depends on the weight of your dish: 200g=2.4€). You are allowed to mix different kind of pasta with several sauces. Employees don't speak much English, but they are very helpful. I recommend it if you want a cheap and quick meal.

Those ravioli (also known as pelmeni) were barely warm and literally tasteless. Definitely not worth the price. You'd better to grab some extra large kebab for the same money at any other place nearby.

Beautiful place that reminds me of a psychedelic trip from some old childrens movie. The food is overly pricy for being the cold, doughy and overcooked messes they were. This place is a disgrace for using the word pelmen on something this tastless. Visit for the appearance if you like weird, but don't think you'll enjoy any pelmenis here.

Cold food and staff no help. They told us that's how it is. €16 for two of us and can't eat it. Avoid this place, bad food and shocking service!!!

This restaurant celebrates an amazing dinner experience. The food is phenomenal, but so is the attentive service. The evening starts in the lounge, where you get served the first appetizers, then you go up the stairs to the main dining area for a fantastic meal and in the end you go down to the intermediate floor to receive the petit fours. This restaurant is for sure one of the best in Latvia, but it stands the comparison internationally. It was one of the best dinners I had in years. Don't miss it!

We were visiting Riga from the States, and this restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip. The whole experience is so thoughtful - you begin with a drink and small bites downstairs, have dinner upstairs in the dining room, and then finish with dessert and coffee in a softly lit lounge area. It is perfectly paced from start to finish, and the ambiance of each room is perfect. Max’s menu is a love letter to Latvia and the Baltic region, and we left feeling like we knew so much more about the country’s produce and fauna. The dishes were thoughtful, unique, and beautifully presented. Each member of the team is expertly trained and service is personal, polished, and warm. Max himself brought us the last dessert down in the lounge and asked us our thoughts on the meal and experience. We have eaten at a lot of Michelin starred places, but the best comparison I can make to this restaurant is Blue Hill at Stone Barns - which is a very high bar. This was one of our favorite restaurant experiences ever, and one star simply does not feel like enough.

Visited in Sep 2025 Max Cekot Kitchen is the first restaurant in Latvia to earn a Michelin star. Once you’ve dined here, it will be very evident why that is the case. The dining experience here from start to finish is one to cherish. From the time you enter the restaurant till the time you have your petit fours, the level of service offered by the restaurant staff is exemplary. This might have been the best dining experience of mine from a service perspective in 2025. As far as the food is concerned, you start with the amuse bouche courses on the lower floors of the restaurant. There were 4 starter courses served here, post which I was led into the main dining hall which is on a higher floor. The main dining hall is an open kitchen concept where depending on where you’re seated, you can have a full or restricted view of the chefs in action. The courses served here take complex form in terms of preparation, ingredients and presentation. Every course was a joy to consume. Some of the courses are served by the head chef himself, which adds positively to the overall experience. There was a beetroot course which was my favorite dish of the lot due to its uniqueness. After the desserts are served, you are then led again to the bottom floor for the petit fours. For drinks, there is a wine pairing and a non-alcoholic pairing. I went with the latter and absolutely loved my decision. The range of the non-alcoholic drinks served surprised me in a positive way. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience and I would strongly recommend fine dining lovers to visit this restaurant if you’re in Riga.

We absolutely loved our dinner at Max Cekot. The building itself is beautiful, they've done an amazing job retaining the historical elements while transforming it into a magical space to spend an evening. The furniture, tableware and decorations are all works of art themselves and the food presentation is stunning. Some dishes were so beautiful (the beets and cherry in particular), I hesitated to eat it as I didn't want to disturb the art. But I'm glad I got over that because, wow, it was delicious. Loved the focus on local foods and traditional preparations. The non-alcoholic juice pairing was phenomenal! Such creative blending of ingredients that complemented the food well. The staff were all wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. Max and his team should be very proud to have created this restaurant. Paldies!

now this is what id consider a classy place to grab a glass or two of proper wine with a friend after a long week (or day 🙂‍↕️). from atmosphere to wine/food to service, everything was well executed. if you're not too picky/knowledgeable with wines - you're in good hands here and can expect guidance as per your preferences! id just keep in mind that it seems to get busy indoors (rightfully so!) quite quickly but there's quite a few tables outside if weather allows.

Can't express to you how much I love this place. Wine selection is superb, changing frequency and prices are fair as well. Glasses start at 7 or 8 Euros, poured in generously as well. Here you'll find stuff that is far from ordinary and will definitely broaden your knowledge of wine. 12 different wines by the glass (which is a Riga record I think), super nice and staff, very talented kitchen. Definitely #1 for me in Riga.

You had me at "zero BS wine." Incredible selection of wines and staff that can equally match whatever tasting notes you have in mind. Food is tapas style so portions are small but delicious. Not great for budget travelers but absolutely great for wine lovers!! Would recommend to any of my fellow winos!

Discovered on Raisin as one of the only 2 natural wine bars in Riga, I decided to stop by. Loved the location, the service, the food and the wine (maybe some white/orange were too cold but that's still ok). Would be very happy to come back.

We absolutely loved Truff le pig! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a perfect balance between casual and refined. The hosts made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived — it’s clear they put their heart into every detail. The wine selection was fantastic, thoughtfully curated and full of pleasant surprises. Altogether, the vibe was relaxed, friendly, and full of character — one of those places you instantly want to come back to.

Too much fuss over literally nothing. The guys snagged to score a spot in a prime location and making a hype mountain out of a molehill. Mediocre wines. Poor selection by glasses. Snack menu is a mixed bag of quality. Overpriced. Overcrowded due to tiny space. It's like fitting 15 people into a train compartment, packed in like sardines in a cane. Extremely noisy. But the biggest surprise and red flag - they do not change wine glasses for different types of wine! ⛔️ White wine after red one to the same glass )) My friend was poured white wine to the glass with the remains of quite specific and smelly organic orange wine. Insane)

Omg! What a spot! Recommended to me by a friend, and it totally delivered. We had bunch of different foods & natural wines but what especially stood out was their beef tartare sandwich. One of the best tartares I have ever had and I loved the presentation. We were sad the kitchen was closed by the time we consumed the first tartare or else we would have probably order more 😂 can’t wait to come back once in Riga again!

Such a cute little farmers market. We really enjoyed the little vegan stand, we even ordered seconds. So delicious and a friendly lady. We can recommend the sausage rolls, the samosas and the brownies/snickers.

A small but very charming market offering regional products such as tea, fruit, bread, spices, vegetables, ham, street food, and much more. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. The market also features handmade jewelry, linen products, pottery, and other lovingly crafted handicrafts. Our visit during the summer solstice was especially memorable – with many artists in traditional costumes, accompanied by traditional dances and music. We truly enjoyed spending time here.

Very colourful place with variety of local and imported products, from various pickles, through Uzbek pilaw, to cannabis chocolate. A must-see for all who are willing to taste a bit of local life. Everyone will find something for himself.

Great place for local food, craft and clothe. Very interesting things could be found there. Tasty ice-cream, fresh bakery, vegetables and much more. Very few tables to enjoy bought ready to eat. Highly recommended for Saturday breakfast and grocery shopping! 🍓🍒🥒🥕🍎

Wonderful farmer's market a short bus ride from the old town. The people selling are the cheesemakers and farmers. They're happy to let you taste before you buy. Go early though it gets very busy.

 While the service could be more attentive, the food certainly stands out. 

 The ambiance, however, tends to be a bit loud and crowded, as the tables are closely packed together. 

 One area that could definitely be improved is the coat hanger situation, which feels a bit lacking. 

 Overall, it’s a great spot for inventive meals, but a few tweaks could elevate the overall dining experience.

Friendly and polite waiters. Overall, the food was rather bland, lacking distinct flavors. Out of everything I managed to try, the steak stood out as well-prepared and tasty. However, the dish I really wanted to try wasn’t available—it had run out (only 3 out of 7 dishes were available), even though tables are reserved in advance. Food was absolutely amazing! Their chicken dish tasted divine and was incredibly satisfying filled with flavor. Prices are definitely on the higher side. Atmosphere of the establishment is refined and one of a kind. Always make a reservation beforehand, it was full on a late weeknight dinner. Service on the other hand could use some improvements, our waiter seemed a little inexperienced. A solution for a better coat check system definitely needs to be addressed. Will definitely come back to try more exquisite dishes!

recently visited masa on a thursday night, and it truly exceeded all expectations - easily one of the best restaurants in riga. the service, atmosphere, and food were all outstanding. our waiter, daniil (if i remember correctly), was unbelievably attentive, warm, and the perfect reflection of what makes this place so special. every dish we tried was incredible, and as a vegetarian, i especially appreciated the creativity and variety of flavors on the menu. my highlights: the baba ganoush and roasted cabbage appetizer, the risotto with chanterelles, and of course the cocktails. but the star of the night? the pistachio ice cream dessert. hands down one of the best desserts i’ve ever had.

The whole atmosphere is magical – medieval-style interior, candlelight, waiters in period costumes – it truly feels like stepping back in time. 🏰 A wonderful place to enjoy not only a great meal, but also a unique experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something special and unforgettable! 🌟

Very luxurious and posh, but authentic place. The waiters and the entire staff are dressed in medieval clothes. The whole atmosphere corresponds to that age. The menu includes dishes prepared according to ancient recipes, as well as salads for those who eat little :) I recommend sharing some dishes with several people - the portions are sufficient. It is worth visiting just for the atmosphere and be sure to order at least one authentic dish. It seems like you have entered a museum :)

Visited in Sep 2025 Rozengrals is one of the most famous restaurants in Riga and decided to pay a visit for dinner during my trip to Riga. The restaurant is very conveniently located in the Old Town. The restaurant has a very medieval cellar type of feel, and as a result offers a very unique ambience for a dining experience. Almost felt like I am having dinner in one those tavern they showed in Game of Thrones 🙂 The food menu has quite a few item to choose from. We didn’t order any starters or snacks, and just ordered 2 mains (the catfish filet and the rabbit meat stew). The portion sizes were more than decent and us 2 pax weren’t able to finish the 2 dishes in entirety. For dessert, we ordered the sea buckthorn and quince cake which was really good. For drinks, we ordered a couple of beers. Their regular draft beer is quite nice. Service was ok, a bit on the slower side but that’s understandable as the restaurant can get quite crowded. I had made a reservation from beforehand (by calling them), and would recommend making a reservation due to the popularity of this place. Overall, it was a decent dinner. It wasn’t the best food I had in Riga but it was definitely one of the better overall experiences given the ambience and decor of the place. Just because of its unique environment, I’d definitely recommend folks visiting Riga to have a meal (lunch or dinner) at Rozengrals.

I felt transported back in time to the Middle Ages. What a brilliant idea for an experience not just a restaurant. The moment you walk down the stairs, it felt eerie like stepping back in time. The live music enhanced the atmosphere, they were brilliant. The food was tasty and big portions as well. Definitely worth a visit.

The dish was generous, mostly thanks to the sides, and overall quite tasty. The atmosphere of Rozengrāls is fantastic, you really feel like you’ve stepped into a medieval tavern, with the setting and even the waiters dressed in period style. Worth visiting even if you don't want to eat, just take a look

It was good experience to feel some authentic atmosphere and food of old districts in Riga. But I don’t recommend this place if you are finding somewhere to enjoy lunch alone. They served huge amount of dishes, it was hard to find something for 1 person. Maybe better with friends or family here..

Wow.. worth the stop, very cool underground labyrinth with many rooms and even a small bar to sit at if you just want the experience with a drink. Make sure to get the French onion soup, it is nothing like the French onion soup you know. Very tasty. If you have kids this is a must stop. We did not make a reservation and got right in. We would go here again.

Ok let’s say I read many things about this place , so I did booked the table and me and my partner decided to finish our amazing trip to Riga with this little cosy place. I would not say it’s bad or it’s a best food experience I ever had it was… ok. Presentation of the each dish is the win win situation to the restaurant however… salmon tartare taste like … chopped salmon and avocado.. ok .. pikeperch fillet taste like … fish .. lamb shoulder taste like lamb etc etc. there where no this full of flavour dishes. It looked amazing but within this amazing looks the wow effect ends… there where no Wow taste effect. Which was a bit of a shame. Place nice, cosy, can’t blame a thing really and it was the busiest restaurant we saw for this entire Easter weekend. But unfortunately I have to rate as 4 stars but purely because of the presentation. Otherwise it would be 3 stars for actual food taste.

The food had lovely presentation but was lacking flavour. We started with trout tratare with avocado which was lovely. Then we got the signature pork ribs and the fish. The pork was good but the fish was lacking a bit of flavour. The staff was really nice .

Cozy spot in the heart of Old Town! The food was absolutely delicious - the baked Camembert with balsamic-roasted grapes and green pistachios was a standout, and the pan-fried pikeperch fillet with green pea purée and mango-pistachio tartare was truly exquisite. Kudos to the chef! Though, the atmosphere was a bit of a letdown. The space is quite small, and somehow the noise bounces off the walls and becomes overwhelming - it really affected the overall experience, we had to scream to hear each other. I would expect such a noise at a bar/pub, but not at a good restaurant. But probably it happened due to this evening the restaurant was packed with some really loud groups. A reservation is definitely recommended, as the space is limited. One interesting observation: we were the only locals there, which likely explains the pricing. It’s more tourist-oriented in that sense, not really a local’s everyday spot. All in all, a charming and cozy place with fantastic food.

We have just finished a superb meal at Domini Canes. The service was attentive, the food beautifully presented and menu choices really interesting - we loved it! We also thought it was excellent value for money.

We (a group of Americans) enjoyed this restaurant so much that we ate here twice (one week apart). Only 4 of us were able to go the first time and sat outside on the very enjoyable patio. The second time we had a group of 8 and were seated inside. I would recommend making a reservation! The food here is incredible! They provide a nice assortment of breads and butter - and both times they brought us a "compliments of the chef" appetizer, which makes you feel really special. Everything I had was flavorful and well prepared. My favorite dishes were the local venison salad and the summer tomato salad. I would also recommend ordering the ABAVAS rhubarb wine - it was our favorite the whole trip!

Very nice and cozy atmosphere. Startes and complimentary were great. The main course fish had bones, which wasn't a problem, but maybe a bit strange when ordering a portion. Also I would prefer it more salty. The service was fast and friendly.

In two weeks of road tripping around the Baltic countries and frequently dipping into Michelin-recommended restaurants, our lunch at Petergailis, with its emphasis on fresh Latvian ingredients, was one of our highlights. On a brisk September day, four of us sat on their urban terrace in the shadow of magnificent architecture and shared as many dishes as possible: crisp potato roti with local goat cream cheese, salmon and capers; fish soup with lots of seafood; salmon tartare with avocado and a honey-lime sauce; an exquisite summer tomato salad with stracciatella cheese; and local pike-perch with cauliflower coconut puree, asparagus and edamame with lemon-dill aioli. As tasty as these were, the scarlet and white Pavlova with raspberries blew us away. Lunch was topped off by our server, a mom of two, whose wickedly dry sense of humor kept us chuckling.

Absolutely 1st class experience! I've been coming to Riga for the last 16 years and for some unknown reason have never eaten here - cue a quick phone call on the off-chance they may have a free table for 4 and boom 💥. 15 minutes later I was seated on the terrace with my family! Service was excellent - efficient, professional, and never having to look for the staff as they always appeared at the right time! The food was fantastic! Not just "for the price point" or "for the city" but simply flat out fantastic. There are Michelin stars and Bib Gourmand in Riga, but I will be returning here first. From the amuse bouche with its playful sweet and salty contrasts, to the excellent breads and the simple but thoughtful menu to the ambience, you start to anticipate a great meal - I'd heard good things courtesy of other reviewers and they were right! Delicious, well-priced, well presented food that satisfied all the senses! 4 very happy Anglo-Latvians! (2A,2C(15 & 11)) Beef Tartare 5/5 Potato Rosti 5/5 (11 didn't like capers or the goat cream cheese but thoroughly enjoyed everything else!) Scallops 5/5 Venison Salad 5/5 (I don't do salads, but this was exceptionally well balanced and seasoned.) Homemade pasta with local venison 5/5 (arrived at table 1st, it smelt amazing and had us all wondering if we'd made the wrong choice!) Beef cheeks 5/5 (11y.o. loved this even though he didn't touch the caramelised onions) Duck confit 5/5 (Perfect! Every component was excellent and the combination absolutely nailed it! That carrot puree though, I'd happily eat my own bodyweight in it!) Salmon fillet 5/5 (The smile and doe-eyes on my wife's face said it all!) Chocolate fondant x 4. 5/5 (2 with vanilla ice cream & 2 with sea buckthorn ice cream) It can be challenging for fondant to turn out correctly - we all seen people get it wrong, even experienced chefs but all 4 of these had that satisfying gooey ooze of chocolate when broken into! Unctious and positively sinful! (The sea buckthorn ice cream went very well with the fondant and is worth trying on its own, it is delicious! All in all, I would absolutely recommend that anyone with a palate that likes the finer flavours, textures, and presentation of their food gets on the phone or the Internet and gets themselves here for some excellent food in great surroundings! 4x 3 courses and drinks.

Booked last minute and got a later table on a Friday evening. We had caramelised goats cheese and venison carpaccio to start, both excellent. Mains were a highlight, with delicious beef cheek and lamb shank. My partner said the meal was one of the best he'd had ever- and not just because we were eating later than usual. Can highly recommend, but do book in advance if eatiyat peak times.

Im very thankful for all kind heart people from restaurant “Pētergailis”. In October 15 2025 we celebrated my Dad’s Birthday. I reserved table and kindly asked about small desert for this occasion. In fact, I only need to change amount of days spent in Riga and special greetings to Kristina and Roman, the rest remains the same, the highest level, unchanged since I discovered this place. Great restaurant in the very center of Riga, fantastic food perfected in every detail. During my 4-day stay in Riga I was there three times in a row. Each time I tried something different and each time it turned out to be a sensation. Great and professional service Kristina and Roman, thank you very much for the atmosphere you create in this restaurant. If I am ever in Riga again, my first steps will be directed to you, you can be sure of that. we went there for dinner and it is a really nice place. it is self service and there is a vast variety of food, it’s so hard to choose. the food was really good but a friend of mine took a cooked chicken which wasn’t really cooked, it was a bit on the pink side. it is often crowded and you may have to wait a little bit to find a free table. overall, it is very recommended

📍Place: a few steps from the main square, a smaller outlet of the famous chain, more seat on the terrace. 🍛 Food: I only came here for the garlic bread - with a garlic sauce I paid 2 euros which is a bargain, and it was okay. Certainly wasn't fresh out of the oil, but it was made not too long ago and for this price perfectly fine. 👩🏻‍🍳 Service: you collect everything on your tray and pay at the counter either with cash or card. The lady was helpful and patient when I changed my mind from card to cash.

Just a few steps from the main square, this smaller branch of the well-known LIDO chain offers a cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating both inside and on the terrace. Despite being right in the center of Riga, the prices are still excellent, and the place feels relaxed rather than overly touristy. We tried the Solyanka soup for only 2.25 €, and it was absolutely delicious — rich, hearty, and full of flavor. Together with a glass of excellent local beer, it made for the perfect casual meal. The portions were generous, everything was fresh and tasty, and the overall quality was far above what we expected for such a price. The staff were friendly and smiling, and the self-service system worked smoothly — you just take a tray, pick what you like, and pay at the counter. Everything was quick and pleasant. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit — great food, good beer, fair prices, and a nice atmosphere. We left happy and will definitely come back next time!

Our group of 10 enjoyed a late lunch at this mostly-Latvian restaurant. We grabbed our trays and parade thru a selection of 2 soups and I chose the tomato based sausage soup that I had to top with fresh parsley, 🌿 sour cream, and chopped garlic. I chose this over a Russian-Latvian beet soup. I also chose pork kebabs and a traditional grey peas with cabbage. The peas and cabbage was a lot tastier than it sounds. Our chose the kabobs and traditional salads. We passed on the nods to tourists with chicken nuggets. Here we passed thru the line to grab cold and hot beverages. We paid before sitting at outdoor covered tables and chose not to sit indoors in accessible tables Menu items are written in Russian and Latvian sone in English. At the entrance a large posted menu gives items in English also. This is a good option for local favorites in a quick stop ambiance

Fanatic value and the food was delicious. You order "canteen" or buffet style that's includes various local meat dishes, salads and desserts which gives you the ability to try as many dishes as you would like. You can also pour your own beers. Service is also very efficient. I can highly recommend.

The herring started was served with potato croquettes, a quails egg and trout roe. A wonderful mix of flavors. The pike filet with vegetable caviar and scalloped potatoes was subtle yet beautifully cooked. The all-stops-out dessert of honey cake, fresh fruit, orange sorbet, rye bread crumbs and a spoonful of local honeycomb was simply sensational. Marta was my knowledgeable waitress; service was attentive, friendly and professional. The interior design is stylish, modern, and comfortable.

Very nice food, excellent service. The restaurant looks a bit empty but it was a good surprise. We recommend especially the rye bread with garlic, excellent! The waiter recommended us a Riga coffee, a coffee with balsam liqueur and milk foam also very good.

We came in an hour before closing, thinking that we had to settle for mediocre food. BUT NO! we were pleasantly surprised with the food and cocktails from this restaurant. Our waitress, Simona, was soooo accommodating, super friendly and always has a smile on her face. She catered to our needs and made us feel special. Dainis, the bar tender made amazing drinks, wow! Worth it!

We truly enjoyed our evening at this cozy restaurant with delicious food. The presentation was beautiful, and the service from the staff was very attentive. It was our first time here, but this is definitely one of those places I feel I've discovered and would love to return to again.

We had lunch here and it was very good (beetroot soup, herring, Caesar salad and barley), especially the herring and the soup. The barley should have had more spices. Everything was served in a beautiful way and the staff is very nice. Overall a great experience.

Really cosy higher end restaurant, service wasn’t perfect on the day I visited. There were lot of mistakes on my order but also other tables but it was promptly rectified. Didn’t mind so much as I was on holiday. The food was good: mushroom soup was really creamy but could a have been stronger in mushroom flavour. The bread was really nice and grey peas falafels were also tasty but slightly dry.

Lovely, cosy interior and with an outdoor terrace - perfect for a drink. For food? Nah.. nothing to write home about. We were a party of 6 and the food was mediocre at best with the beef burger probably being the safest bet. The poke bowls were really not worth the money but at least they used short grain Japanese rice and it was edible, the kids meal arrived 25mins before everyone else’s so he was of course finished with his meal whilst the rest of us were waiting quite a while. Lovely service from the waiting staff and the tomato soup was good. I was disappointed that the only vegan dish of wok noodles with oysters mushrooms so the only thing I could order was poke bowl without any toppings. I left hungrier than when I came.

Incredibly unique frog themed restaurant serving up fresh food, relatively quickly at very reasonable prices with small nooks for couples, large seating areas and gorgeous surrounds. FOOD: Selection of salads, poke bowls, burgers, pastas, steaks and other various vegetarian, vegan and meat options. They also have a few gluten free options and are happy to accommodate special requests where possible. I enjoyed a salad, there are a number of mains and there are gluten free poke bowls too. * They also do a unique espresso and cola drink which is really rather good. STAFF: Absolutely lovely. The best we've had in Latvia so far: super friendly, accommodating, efficient and attentive to detail. SEATING: There is a significant amount of indoor and outdoor seating options. With groups of 12+ easily being able to sit. This is a very family friendly place! Staff ensure kids meals get served up quickly. There is a dedicated kids space for them to hide, hang out, colour in at their own table and chairs and also play with and assortment of frog themed toys. They also have a number of fish tanks throughout, which makes this a parents dream. See video. OVERALL: INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! HIGHLY RECOMMEND visiting even if you're not in the area.

We visited Lidojošā varde as two families with kids. The children's menu was okay – nothing special, but acceptable for the little ones. Unfortunately, the experience for adults was very disappointing. We ordered the Striploin steak, and it turned out to be the worst we’ve ever had – tough, lacking flavor, and poorly cooked. The garden itself is nice and has potential for a pleasant dining experience. However, during our visit, there was a noisy group of young people drinking and shouting, which completely ruined the atmosphere. It didn’t feel like a family-friendly place at all. Overall, we left unhappy and won’t be coming back.

I had the frogs legs and the vegetables/sauce was like from a supermarket wok dish. Not recommended. From a restaurant decorated in frogs I would expect a much better frog meal than this. However, the in garlic fried bread as appetizer was really good.

Loved the vibes here. It is a busy and popular eatery situated on the posh Elizabetes iela, despite that the service was surprisingly fast. Loved how they gave attention to each customer. Very good place to have a delicious meal and watch the world go by. Considering the prime location, the rates were pretty affordable. This was one of my favourite restaurants in Riga. Highly recommended!

Went for lunch, somehow we got lucky when it was super busy so waiting time for food was about 50min, the terrace is nice to sit in, food was good but the duck was not the best. Would suggest making a reservation for busy days and holiday’s beforehand. Overall a nice place.

An incredible culinary experience! I been there during a business trip, for lunch, and I decided to try 7 dishes + 7 wines menu. Every dish is a symphony of tastes, colours and perfumes, with a dedicated wine. The waiter kindly explain you every dish, and sometimes he finalize it directly. A must to try place if you are in Riga.

Authentic, modern Latvian cuisine. Pleasure for our taste buds and many new flavors on our palette. Tasting menu was not yet available, however everything we wanted to try was available a la carte. Great memory, thank you!

Unfortunately the food didn’t meet our expectations, one of the starters was unbalanced, we barely could feel the taste of shrimp and both of the mains were served cold. The restaurant overall has good potential but for now I cannot recommend. Also quite overpriced.

3 Restorāns is a highly rated restaurant in old town of Rīga so we thought we would give it a go. It’s delicious with a lot of care put into each dish. The portion sizes are quite small so it’s a good idea to order some sides to pad out the dishes. It’s a bit pricey but still better quality for cheaper prices than home in Australia.

Came here by myself on a less busy Thursday. The vibe was really welcoming and staff are all friendly, wasn’t intimidated dining alone. I tried the tasting menu. Top notch ingredient and food quality. I tasted many interesting tastes that I’ve never tasted before. Awesome experience.

We spent a wonderful evening at Restaurant 3. Great food, nice ambience and good service. Everything was lovely and to our satisfaction. Amazing food. We came actually to go with the five or seven course menu, but ended up with the set menu. Good wine as well. Dinner delivered with the drama of natural elements fire & water thanks to the use of dry ice and wood smoke. The crammed interior and rusty service unfortunately needs to be tinkered for it to be on the same level as its competitors. The food was excellent, fine dining quality and great value for money.

Hands down best dining experience I’ve had in Riga. And the competition is fierce! But COD greets you with all wooden beautiful interior, a very kind and attentive staff, and just fantastic starters and sushi. Also, big plus, super friendly to kids! Price-wise, it’s priced just slightly above restaurants of similar quality in Riga. This is my top pick in Riga, and definitely a place I’ll look forward to visiting again!

We go to this place continuously over time for some years…when they first started everything was perfect however nowadays the general feeling is not the same. Lame waitresses, the food quality seems a bit odd, new menu that can’t be compared to the one before. We used to really enjoy this restaurant but now for the price it’s not the same experience. Sushi is nice but main courses is around 25€ and the flavors are very basic…not worth your money! However nice drinks!! :)

Excellent! Black cod was exceptional. Normally I'm not even that fond of this fish, but made like this it was just too good, a must have. Raspberry - rose mousse was pretty nice as well. Service could be a bit more relaxed and better organised, in particular the greeting and seating part: hostess is busy with other guests, another girl just standing around but apparently not empowered to seat me, so now we loiter togerther at the entrance waiting. The waiter in charge of serving food however was doing a very good job. The menu online was different from the printed menu, apparently the latter was updated to add seasonal changes, the online one still not updated a couple of days later. And I had already set my mind on a dish no longer available... sniff. Nevertheless, the food is what I really care about, and that was top notch, absolutelly recommended.

Probably the best sushi in Riga. If you enjoy cream cheese and intense sauces then skip; this restaurant’s approach is different. Do opt for starters and grilled dishes too, they are quite delightful. My personal favs were beef tartare, scallop nigiri, roll Trio and the black cod. Paired with Azure sake - pure perfection!

Very interesting maki roll combination. The dessert was an interesting choice - matcha crème brûlée, I'm not a fan of matcha but you couldn't feel the typical matcha flavor, tasty. Great place overall

Beautiful view, good food, and a touch of elegance on the rooftop We arrived without a reservation and were lucky to get a table – a good start. The view over Riga’s rooftops is lovely, especially in the warm evening light. The service? Impeccable – attentive, fast, and with a smile. The food is good – nicely plated, with interesting combinations and clear attention to detail. Not exactly the kind of taste you’ll remember forever, but the colorful bread selection and the lobster risotto were the stars of the evening. Prices are a bit above average, but you’re also paying for the atmosphere. Would I come back? Yes – especially for a quiet evening with wine and a beautiful view.

Amazing view as restaurant is located on 5th floor. Service was kind and fast. Food was tasty. As it was restaurant week - had menu of 3 dishes. Dessert was a little bit too sweet but other dishes were fine.

Our small group stopped by here for supper the other night. What a great spot! The rooftop restaurant (go in the main entrance of the hotel, take the elevator to the 5th floor) has an amazing view, and on nice warm days, can retract part of the roof. We had a great waiter and seats by the window. Their menu has a silhouette of the city with numbers so you can identify everything you see - great idea. The food was delicious and was presented very well. I will say that although a few items may be a bit overpriced, the view/location is worth it. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the Strawberry soup with a scoop of ice cream and waffle was delicious. We finished off the meal with a serving of Black Currant Balsam. The entrance to the hotel is tucked in the alley just off a main road from the square. Thanks for the great meal. Definitely recommended.

Lovely rooftop restaurant with stunning food, great service and wonderful views. The restaurant had a canopy extended and heaters available when we visited to ensure comfortable temperatures on a chilly evening. The service was excellent and the food was superb. Well worth a visit if you are in Riga

Atmospheric place, beautiful view from the window. good service, good cuisine. Octopus was excellent. One of two steaks (medium rare ordered) was overcooked. Tartars were completely unbalanced , there were too many capers. I do not recommend carpaccio either for the very same reason (half of the portion was in capers as you can see it in the photo). It has to be corrected adjusted definitely. Though desserts were just fine.

We came here for a friend’s bachelorette lunch and it could not have been more beautiful. The food was fresh, delicious, and surprisingly affordable, with every plate tasting as good as it looked. The staff were so kind and attentive, even opening the windows to bring in more breeze since it was a warm day, such a thoughtful touch that made us feel truly taken care of. The views of Riga from the rooftop are breathtaking, easily some of the best in the city. It genuinely does not even match the hotel below. The rooftop feels like its own magical, chic destination. Everything was literally perfect, from the service to the food to the atmosphere. I highly recommend it. This rooftop is a must visit while in Riga.

Almost every time we visit Riga we stay at the Gutenbergs Hotel and of course visit the rooftop restaurant. A stunning place with a wonderful view of the Dome Cathedral and the rooftops of the Old Town. The cuisine matches the high standard of the restaurant.

Mio is an absolute gem in Riga. The owners are warm, welcoming, and share the history of the place in such a heartfelt way that you immediately feel at home. Their family touch adds something truly special to the atmosphere. The interior is full of beautiful historical details, and dining here feels like being in a glamorous manor with elegance in every corner. The food is outstanding — perfectly cooked meat, rich sauces, and every flavor in balance. Everything is made with care and passion. I will definitely return and highly recommend Mio to anyone visiting Riga.

Waited for an hour (literally) without any food or update or checking on, only to be told that it was a mixup when flagged and needed another 12 minutes. Was offered refreshments, non alcoholic drinks, or desserts afterwards. We refused because we did not want any anyways. They still gave us a scoop of sorbet each. At least the food was good. The last thing we wanted after an hour long waiting is mediocre food All in all, we feel that the service is inadequate, not attentive. Considering both the price range and mixups, we didn't get any checking on from the waiter when we did actually get our foods

I was looking for the place for the last minute dinner and feel very excited that I was lucky to have a table in Mio restaurant. The whole dinner experience was wonderful! The beauty of the place, romantic music, the polite service, tasty food - juicy duck breast is the most delicious that I have ever tried. Looking forward to return again and try more food for the soul🙂

Let's start from the beginning. The staff barely smiled at us. I understand that everyone has their own things going on, and perhaps we visited on a bad day, but you're getting paid to at least offer a smile—even a fake one would’ve been better than nothing. The place was dirty; there was dust on the walls, pictures, and other surfaces. Fortunately, the tables were clean. We ordered one starter, one pizza, and one pasta dish. I would honestly prefer getting a pizza from Rimi—it had the same shape and taste as the one we were served. As for the pasta, it was served without any cheese. I assume this might be a cultural difference, but it still felt incomplete. Overall, I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I had high expectations after reading the reviews, definitely not worth the money.

Everything was okay but nothing was super, I didn’t feel something special in the restaurant more than the atmosphere, I mean the design. Also I can’t complain about the food, we finished it all 😁 Thank you

Visited this place with colleagues for a weekday lunch and the place was buzzing. This alone makes you think that there must be delicious food. I chose the melt-in-your-mouth carpaccio and the lamb fillet. It was cooked exactly as I asked for, medium-rare. Wonderful. The others also liked everything, especially caramelized goat cheese. The service is a little slow, but the quality of the food makes up for it.

Our small group visited this restaurant lately, and was definitely a great choice. Although there were seats available when we arrived, I would suggest making a reservation. The atmosphere is great, both inside and out. There are a lot of great choices that should cover everyone's tastes. The tuna starter was described by one of our group as one of his favorites he has ever had. The pizza was very good, and the T-bone was delicious. It came out on a hot plate with the steak sizzling. I thought the presentation was a bit off though - it came cut in pieces and "piled" on the plate instead of nicely carved off the bone. Overall a great meal. Thanks.

I would like to say big thank you to the service! Great job. But bad food and no taste and no flavour. Ordered pasta carbonara, spagetti broken and over boiled, no need for spoon, not great, sorry. And about the pizza alla carbonara- tastes like supermarket frozen pizza. I would say that the Lulu pica is better than that.

I like Italian food and there are few places which I visit in Riga. Here I am at Rossini. I think food here is delicious and is rich in taste. Prices are quite democratic (comparing to other restaurants in Latvia). There is great design elements. Must have to visit, if you like Italian cuisine.

Visited this restaurant three times already, always has great quality food and professional service. Everything I had was as supposed to be. Recommend: Florentine steak, carpaccio, sea-bas fillet. But the best was the Sicilian seafood soup.

It was a pleasant experience. The service and atmosphere was nice but unfortunately the flavors weren't quite there for the prices they were charging. It's nice Italian food but doesn't push it enough to meet the demands of what it's asking for. I definitely think the menu is too big and if they focused the menu more it could potentially have lots more flavors.

We visited this restaurant and unfortunately were disappointed with the food. The pizza arrived cold and did not taste good. Other dishes were also strange – some had too much pepper, others just tasted odd. The service itself was friendly and good, but the quality of the food did not match the price.

However, the evening and the cuisine were a bit disappointing… We reserved a table for two but arrived at different times; the waiter seemed unsure of where our table was, but all was eventually found 😅. Service was slow and lengthy, but drinks arrived promptly, thank you. The taste quality of the dishes leaves something to be desired… the meat in the carpaccio was cold, the cheese was questionable (it said Parmesan, but clearly wasn't), though the fresh greens were hard to mess up 😄👌. The chicken pasta was average, except for the portion price; it was odd that it was overcooked for an Italian restaurant where you'd expect al dente… As for the veal medallions… tough; we asked for medium rare, which was correct, anyway the meat was so hard but sauce saved the dish. The pistachios and gorgonzola were clearly the highlights, special thanks to the chef 😂🙏🤌🏻. I'd like to mention the wine list separately; it's exceptionally good with pleasant bottle prices. You'll probably find everything you desire there. Perhaps we were just "lucky," and maybe other dishes truly deserve praise, such as the pizza, seafood, and desserts…idk Overall, it's worth noting that they don't serve bread baskets with oil and olives while waiting for your food; you have to order them separately, which slightly disrupts the concept of an Italian restaurant. The vegetarian burger was amazingly tasty! The thai cream soup is interesting as well, but a toast would have made it better. The portion of crepes is too tiny.. For the price, the portions should be larger. The kids' menu options were disappointing, however. The pasta was all covered with sauce that kids do not appreciate. Children were given tall glasses with super long steel straws... How on earth that could be safe?

Tasty food, big portions, great terrace vibes! Andalūzijas Suns is a cozy spot offering solid European comfort food. The menu isn’t trying to surprise you with anything new- it’s more about doing the classics well. The food is tasty, portions are big, and prices are fair. They serve breakfast until 14:00, and on weekdays they offer a business lunch. It gets very busy in summer, especially on the terrace. Drinks are a highlight, especially the gin-based cocktails. Cool fact: they have their own locally distilled gin called OBDO. The interior is warm and artistic, with rotating exhibitions. Chairs aren’t the comfiest, but it’s fine for a casual meal. Plus, they’re kid- and dog- friendly- even offering menu options for dogs! Service was okay- our waitress seemed new and unsure, and I’ve noticed staff don’t always smile, though there are exceptions. Still, I recommend visiting- especially on a sunny day when the terrace is open and the cocktails are flowing.

We have had a bad breakfast experience and a terrible service communication. Our order contained “butter toast with eggs Benedict” which was not a toast, but soft bread instead. However the accident with my order happened when i found a huge plastic package part from prosciutto hidden inside my meal. I asked a waiter to pay attention to this outrage and to pass the complaint to the kitchen stuff. Reaction of a waiter was reluctant and negligent, as he was in hurry and busy like it happens twice a day 😳. Then he came back saying that he apologises and that I will have a discount. He estimated ordinary price 😳 NOT RECOMMENDED

Kids and dogs friendly place. Been open since forever. This is not gonna be quiet and intimate place rather loud and that not a bad thing. My overall choice to go out. Near city center. Good choice of food and beverages.

Cozy restaurant in a closed space, food was amazing. Service was questionable, the waitress we had was extremely slow and it took her 15 minutes to just bring the menu while other tables got premium service.

I stopped by here today with my wife for Brunch / Light Lunch. There is seating both inside and out, but I must say that the eating area in the courtyard is definitely a great location. Our young waiter today was really great - he even noticed the wobbly table when he first arrived and adjusted the leg to make it nice and sturdy. The food came out fairly quick and was very well done. I will say that their garlic bread is one of my favorites I've tasted (crunchy outside and soft inside). The dipping sauce (slight horse radish added) is also really good. This place also prides itself on being dog friendly (check out my menu photo), This was not our first time here, and it won't be our last. Thanks.

My visit to Labietis was in March 2025. It was very busy, obviously very popular. The range of beers were amazing, and I couldn't get over the strength of some of them 🤩. The barman was very helpful, even offering samples before you commit to a drink. The bar snacks were great too, taking the edge off. If I go back to Riga I'd definitely go here again 👍🏻

Lovely and cozy atmosphere with plenty of space both inside and outside. Great selection of beers – both on draft and in cans. We were served by a very friendly and articulate female bartender, and she kindly offered us a few tastings before we decided. The beers and snacks were excellent. If we hadn’t had plans elsewhere, we definitely would have stayed for another round or two. The olives were some of the best I’ve ever had!

This place is a million stars out of ten. The beer (and mead) is utterly sublime - every single one of the seven we tried were stupendously good. Juniper ale, ginger mint, mead… and the absolute star of the show… braggot… all just brilliant. Very very highly recommended indeed. Rye chips good too.

My new, favorite Latvian beer is Labietis. After tasting their offerings in the big market downtown, we decided to trek out to the brewery and check out what else they had available. A cool little section of town, some light snacks and 16 different beers on tap. If you are a beer lover, it is worth the trip. And oddly, they were playing the entire day of one of my favorite albums of 1989, The Sundays “reading, writing and arithmetic”. Very random…

This is such a great brewery. They have a large selection of beers on tap, many of which are very unique, and include beers made using medieval ingredients and techniques. They also have some unique beers infused with herbs.

Went to Riga and missed this place. big regret. Bought two of their beers at the airport since we had a delay. The juniper Red ale, and the Witch of light Bronze age braggot. The juniper was delicious with its crisp light flavor with a hint of tart berry, but the Bronze age braggot was the standout to me. very unique taste of sourness, beer and almost a liqouricy tartiness. very unique flavor. ended up ordering a lot of beers to my home in Denmark from their website. also went without a hitch, they handled all issues like the danish Excise duty so the delivery went without any issues. big respect to this brewery for their innovation and super high quality for a very reasonable price. a must visit for you, and definitely for me when i make it back to beautiful Riga.

I would say it it THE BEST coffee shop in Riga. It always full and there’re few reasons for this. There are few options of beans for espresso. I choose Ethiopia beans with fruity and sour taste. Next time I will try another option. Also, would be great to ask for different water proportions and grinding. I like 1 to 2 water proportion, it should make it less sour. Cool place to have a coffee! It is also possible to work, many people does. I got the batch brew from Brazil but I wasn’t very impressed, the tones I got was reminder the vinegar most. It is a personal taste as well I am sure that they have other coffee beans more suitable to my taste. Mozzarella sandwich with rye bread was great though. Also the staff is very nice and helpful, they let me try also the other batch of the from Tanzania (which I also also didn’t like much because it has the citrus tones). I would recommend if you are in the neighbourhood. This is one of the best cafes in the town..

I wasn’t really a coffee person, but man, this place literally changed me! Great coffee, pastries as well as other drinks and foods. Plenty of seats, super welcoming staff and atmosphere, you can see the guys making your sandwich, roasting your coffee, location is among the best streets in the city. Fantastic dinner, it was my third time in Garage, and it never disappoints. Every dish was on top level, my personal favourite was the starter - scallop ceviche, which surprised me as I don’t always like sea food. All dishes were elaborate and interesting, products fresh. They change menu every day. Waitress was very friendly, and recommended nice wine pairings to every dish. Definitely can recommend their tapas. Good choice of vegetarian options too. This place deserves a Michelin star ⭐️

Very tasty food. Tried tulips and other vegetarian options during Rīga restaurant week. Portions are very small as expected in most restaurants, but the taste of the food was excellent. And dishes were delivered very fast. View outside the windows is also nice.

Excellent - we visited Vina bars Garage with a group of friends on 26.04, late in the evening. It was past closing time, the place was still packed, but the nice girl working there let us in (for one drink), arranged us a bigger table. As she was very busy, a guy who was actually working in the kitchen, took our orders. We ended up being the last guests, had more than a drink, were organized tapas plates and at the same time felt welcomed. In a very positive way the guy and the girl acted as I imagine an owner would/should act - proactive and finding solutions which results in more sales (but they were not the owners, we asked), so a huge thank you and we'll be back!

For the quality and quantity of food served at this place, the price is really good. But I must forewarn you that the serving size is quite generous. We had the onion soup, potato pancakes, halibut, duck, garlic ice-cream and wine and just about rolled out the door cause we were so stuffed and couldn't sop ourselves from ordering the dessert thought we were full cause we were just so intrigued by the selection available. If I were to do it again, I would drop the onion soup. Not because it is no good, just that we were too full and could probably do without one dish. This place nails simplicity, texture, doneness and flavours well. The potato pancakes were crispy on the outside and surprisingly light on the inside, paired really well with the accompaniments. The halibut was melt in the mouth and absolutely delicious with it's contrasting crunchy crust. Duck was again, done well, good bite, not so much of the heavy duck flavour and paired well with the berry sauce. The garlic ice-cream was not as garlicky as we feared it would be - it came with dried and preserved fruits, reminding us of the flavours of a fruitcake or Christmas pudding served with a dollop of bread soup ice-cream with a hint and heat of ice-cream instead of brandied cream. The rye in it gave the dish a nice textural component. All -in we paid under €90 for the two of us. Service was efficient. We were given excellent recommendations. The setting was pleasant. We rolled out the door happy. 😊 Btw - pet friendly place.

It was very nice, I went there with colleagues. For all of us food was nice and delicious, isn't massive portions but - just what needed! Everyone was satisfied with choice. Quirky and upmarket restaurant in the heart of Riga. Their signature black garlic is delicious. Wide selection of items on the menu. Seafood soup was savoury and rich, beef tartare was good and highly recommend the lamb chops. Succulent and tender.

Came to Riga on a Business trip, and glad I could experience this place. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent. All courses were fantastic and I liked how the waiter gave me a sorbet to cleanse my palate in between my starter and main course. Definitely will come again when I’m next in Riga!

We just stopped in for a quick bite. We didn't look at any reviews or anything... just picked a place "near me." We were pleasantly surprised... the food was great and so was the service. We actually stayed a little longer than we originally intended to, but the drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was laid back... no rush. If you get a chance, you should try this one out.

I still have the first memory of coming to this cafe last year January, on a very cold winter. Everything seemed so lifeless and gray in Latvia until I found this place. The smell of croissants and coffee and very nice music that goes along with the atmosphere completely changed the mood of my day. Not just pastries and salad are good, but also the cakes are demuring. I personally recommend the traditional cake Napoleon. I have tried in many different cafes in Latvia to compare the taste. However, none of them has won over Kūkotava yet. The locals have known this place since long, while nowadays many tourists come as well to enjoy brunch or dessert after a meal. Hope you go and give yourself a nice treat. Never bad to start a day with a sweet cake and a warm coffee🍰☕️

I’ve always loved the sweets from this place — everything I’ve tried before has been delicious. That’s why I was so excited to visit the new branch on Antonias 11. Unfortunately, this time I was really disappointed. The pastry I tasted was rubbery, as if it had been baked days ago, and the lemon cream had no lemon flavor or aroma at all. During our trip, we kept coming back to this place — both to their dessert shop and their gourmet deli. The desserts are absolutely wonderful, and the deli is perfect if you’re looking for a quick but delicious lunch or light dinner. They have amazing salads with avocado, shrimp, tuna, or duck, plus tasty quiches and many other options. The coffee is excellent as well. It’s a lovely spot to sit both indoors and outdoors when the weather is nice. We stayed nearby for three days and ended up visiting every single day — and even grabbed some snacks to take home with us. Prices are very reasonable, and whether you’re in the mood for something sweet, savory, or just a little bite to go, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Exceptional Croissant in the City Centre — France, Step Aside In the first paragraph, the heart is secure, free to love, and the rest is limitless peace. That’s exactly how I felt biting into this croissant — in the middle of the city, yet completely transported. Forget Paris or Rome. This almond croissant was filled with rich, authentic almond paste — the kind you’d find in an elegant wedding cake, not the diluted stuff served across most of Europe. Baked to perfection: crisp shell, tender center, no excess butter or raw chewiness. The coffee? Strong, rich, and full of personality. A proper roast that lingers. Only downside? The service. When I asked for soy milk, I got a blunt “no” with no follow-up. No smile. No suggestion. For a city full of tourists, that moment lacked grace. Still — for the pastry alone, it’s a must. Pure craftsmanship in the city centre. France, tapisols.

Visited this place for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the honey cake was as well as coffee. The place is conveniently located near the Vermanes park where I went after for a short stroll to burn calories:) The only thing is that music could be a bit quieter as we had to raise our voice to hear each other

We visited Street Pizza on a Saturday night. We tried the Margherita and Capricciosa pizzas – both were absolutely delicious, with a rich and flavorful tomato sauce. The dough was perfectly risen, giving the pizzas beautifully puffy crusts, which I personally love to see in a good pizza. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt inviting and cozy. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more pizzas. Highly recommended!

This is our favourite place ,my family, especially my brother often visits there. When we travel to Latvia ,we go there to try delicous pizzas. This time we have ordered "Margherita" pizza, as always pizzas were perfect. Restaurant simple and cozy. Location nice. Highly recommend to everyone👍

We visited on September 1st to celebrate, and were immediately impressed by the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The space feels warm and welcoming, and the staff were attentive, polite, and genuinely ensured that everything was perfect throughout our visit. We ordered the Milano and Pancetta pizzas, which were absolutely incredible—easily some of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The cocktails arrived promptly, and the pizzas were served within just 10 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be returning, not only for the delicious food but also for the great service and atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Hands down this is the BEST pizza in Riga, maybe even Latvia. If you are looking for a true Neapolitan pizza, with the best dough, sauce and cheese, Street pizza wins the award. Hardly anything to complain about, the service is good, prices are reasonable (for the quality of the pizza). I will be making a few more trips here while I am in Riga, and try all their varieties (which are quite extensive)

Our experience was very satisfying: we had ciabatta with truffle honey and a prosecco for a starter followed by a Nordic pizza and a pizza with anchovies and then affogate and tiramisu for a dessert. All were very tasty and we really enjoyed our meal on the outdoor terrace. The pets from the neighbouring restaurant came over for a dinner as well ;-)

There are a number of coffee places in Riga (most of them outside the old town) that claim to serve specialty coffee. Some of them are quite decent. Strada however is exceptional. Judging by the coffees (did not eat anything) I have had there, they have superior water quality, a great grinder and very good beans. If you have high standards when it comes to the taste of coffee, go there: You will love it!

Strada gave a decent impression with food that was steady and reliable rather than remarkable. The service was fine, and the restaurant handled guests smoothly. It did not stand out compared to other meals in the city, though it was acceptable for a casual dinner.

The only non-chain specialty coffee shop that truly deserves all the respect! The interior is cozy and full of character, with a rare and wide variety of teas and coffees, and the terrace during warm months adds a lovely touch. It’s also amazing that they roast their own beans and do it exceptionally well. It might not be “the” spot for someone looking for a full meal with their coffee, but they do offer some cakes and sandwiches that pair nicely. On top of the wonderful tea selection, you can even buy a teapot or a cup for drinking mate. Speaking of their specialty offerings, their V60 is magnificent, I often order it along with chocolate cake. Sometimes I go for a cappuccino, which is always velvety, or an iced latte with a perfect balance of flavours. Another standout aspect is the service. Baristas are always caring and thoughtful, taking drink quality seriously and investing time and effort into preparation. You can ask them about ingredients, recommendations, or even the origins of a particular drink. Special kudos to Daniels for never hesitating to share his knowledge and kind energy. Finally, it’s a wonderful space to work in. There is no discrimination against people using laptops. Perhaps, don’t just work: make sure to try the many amazing options from their drink selection.
