American restaurant
Perched high above the bustling streets of downtown Indianapolis, The Eagle's Nest is a chic revolving rooftop restaurant located on the 23rd floor of the Hyatt Regency. This elegant venue offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline, making it an ideal setting for both romantic dinners and special celebrations. With its sophisticated ambiance, it's perfect for intimate gatherings or business meetings alike.
Decided to celebrate our 10 year anniversary here. We had a great experience, the food was delicious. The view was phenomenal. Service was great, our server was amazing ! She went out of her way to write us a card & gifted us dessert! Thank you Rene & Jape for the great service.

I had the absolute pleasure of taking my mother Sherry and my niece Raelei out for an amazing dinner (in part to celebrate Raelei's 14th birthday) and to experience one of the best and most unique restaurants that Indianapolis has to offer! And I was completely blown away by the ambiance of this gorgeous restaurant, by the breath taking view of a city that I've lived in my entire life, by the absolute best Salmon, and food in general that we've ever had! What sent this over the top, and was beyond anything I've ever experienced dining out was the top tier, gold medal deserving service we received from our waiter/server Anthony! This young man was the most polite, respectful, hospitable, attentive, knowledgeable, professional I've ever had the pleasure of interacting with at a restaurant! He was on top of every single request we made, and absolutely made this dinner and experience the three of us will never forget! And has set the standard for service so high that I don't think anyone will ever surpass it! This young man made this dinner a truly unforgettable experience for us, not just a nice dinner! So thank you to the young man Anthony and to Eagles Nest for the unbelievable food, drinks, atmosphere and views of this amazing city! Absolutely a 10/10 for everything across the board! 100% would recommend and will certainly be going back! -Douglas Carter

We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. The food and drinks were amazing. Our server, Nicolas, was great. He was very attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Overall it was an incredible experience. Great views, excellent service, and delicious food.

The view is beautiful at night. The food is different but tasty. Had fun with the wife. Don't forget to drink alcohol ir makes the atmosphere so much better. Lmao🤣🥂🍻

Lovely atmosphere and very good food, especially the seafood chowder. Also, they have mocktails for $8 which we didn’t know but enjoyed very much! The service was good as well.
Emma — Google review
Is a rotating restaurant a gimmick? Perhaps, but a very good one. The slowly changing view that goes for miles is quite enjoyable and I can't imagine there is a better way to see the Indy skyline. Food drinks were all good, but nothing exceptional. Service was very attentive. (Pay attention to the designated elevator - not all elevator cars go to the restaurant. If there isn't an 'R' button, you're not in the right one.)
Scott G — Google review
This restaurant is located in downtown Indianapolis and offers a 360-degree view of the city. It’s not exactly an observation deck, but rather a rotating restaurant that slowly turns around its axis. While sitting at your table, you get to enjoy the stunning views of Indianapolis, which constantly change as the restaurant moves. I’ve been to a similar place in Vienna, and it’s truly an impressive experience. You enter the restaurant through the hotel, and the elevator ride is beautiful – one side is glass, so as you go up, you see the entire hotel lobby below you with its open space and people sitting down, almost like you’re floating to the very top. I believe it’s located in the Hyatt, and it’s really cool. The service was very good, and our server was kind and attentive. However, when you come to such a place, with panoramic views, valet parking, and this whole upscale atmosphere, you expect something extraordinary – a “wow” factor that takes your breath away. Unfortunately, the food, while good, didn’t live up to that level. I ordered the tuna poke (or tuna tartare), and honestly, it didn’t impress me. I’ve had better versions of this dish in simpler restaurants where it was fresher and more flavorful. I didn’t even finish it. My husband and my mom both ordered the duck and said it was very good. My dad ordered fish, and my son had a steak – they were happy with their meals. We also had crème brûlée for dessert, and they brought out a birthday cake for my dad, singing happy birthday, which was a lovely touch. Overall, the view and the experience of being in such a unique rotating restaurant are unforgettable. But considering this is one of the most pretentious and upscale restaurants in Indianapolis, the food just didn’t reach the level of excellence we expected. The entire arrival experience – valet parking, beautiful glass elevator, luxurious hotel lobby, and breathtaking views – sets the bar high, but the food fell short of creating that final “wow” moment. It’s a bit sad because everything else about the place is truly special.

I have lived in Indy for 3 years now but it took me until now to finally eat at The Eagle’s Nest. I’ve visited the Hyatt Regency a ton of times and have always wondered whether this place lived up to the hype. I finally after all this time managed to eat here. Came on a Tuesday at around 7 PM and they weren’t that busy. Just an fyi, but they DO have a dress code (business attire basically) so plan accordingly. The views up top are incredible, combined with the fact the place rotates around and gives you 360 views of the city. First off, I have to give HUGE props to our waiter Anthony. He was SO kind, attentive to our table, gave incredible menu suggestions, and made sure we were doing fine the whole time. Honestly, he was one of the best waiters I’ve seen in the industry so we tipped him very well. We started out with the Shrimp Cargot and the Thick Nueske’s Bacon as appetizers. Both were unbelievable. The shrimp was great and the bacon was unreal. I then got a bowl of the seafood chowder which was fantastic. Then as my main course, I got the Braised Short Ribs with Polenta. Overall, it was phenomenal all around. The ribs were juicy, flavorful, and the sauce was delish. The polenta was good and the carrots were good too. Overall, Eagle’s Nest was way better than I imagined! If you’re in Downtown Indy or are staying at the Hyatt, get yourself a reservation here. Was so worth it! I’ll easily be back.

Parks
Eagle Creek Park is a sprawling natural oasis, boasting 1,400 acres of water and 3,900 acres of lush greenery. This expansive city park offers an array of activities for visitors to enjoy. From hiking and biking trails to a marina and beach, the park provides numerous opportunities for outdoor adventure. Nature enthusiasts can explore the Earth Discovery Center with its live exhibits of native wildlife and interactive educational programs.
★★★★★ Love It Here – Just Missing a Water Park! Eagle Creek is one of our favorite places — we’ve been going almost every Saturday or Sunday since 2023. The hiking trails are beautiful, the nature is peaceful, and it’s a great place to relax. The only thing that would make it even better is if they built a beautiful, amazing water park with pools and fun features for families. It would make Eagle Creek an even more exciting destination, especially in the summer. We already love it, but that would take it to the next

Hiking at Eagle Creek is seriously such a blast! I love wandering along the trails and taking in all the crazy cool views. , the peaceful sound of running water make it super relaxing but also fun. Every turn gives you a new awesome sight, and I can’t help but stop and just soak it all in. The fresh air and beautiful scenery make it one of my favorite spots to chill and enjoy nature. Honestly, I always have the best time there!

A very nice park! We saw a raccoon who was getting in to the trash, and the birds in the sanctuary were quick active! LOVED the buzzard gal! I wish I could remember her name. She was so curious! <3 A lovely please to walk, jog, or take the kids! I am sad to see that people arnt picking up after their dogs at the main entrance, it's quite rude. Hopefully those pet owners do better.

Lovely place for hiking within the city! Visiting the park was a truly delightful experience, filled with natural beauty and tranquility. The trails were well-maintained, offering a pleasant walk for all skill levels. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of activities, from bird watching to simply relaxing by the water. The park's cleanliness and overall atmosphere created a welcoming environment for everyone. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone seeking a refreshing escape in nature.

Come here frequently for paddle boarding and it's always an enjoyable time. They have a great area for loading in your boat and even a small dock to temporarily rope up. I appreciate that there are speed limit for boats and that there are safety boats in the resvior. It's also pretty decent for fishing, not the best but still fun.
Natalia C — Google review
LOVED this walk but rated it low because I wish there were more accessibility signs and trails. We have an infant so we were pushing the stroller along the blue trail which started out great but I wish there was a sign halfway to turn around because you can’t get back up to the parking lot on one side it’s rocky (we were able to carry the stroller/car seat separately up the hill but it’s not for the weak 🤪). Otherwise we enjoyed the walk & pelicans.
Ayanna N — Google review
Beautiful park around of a lake offering a wonderful landscape where walking, fishing, navigating, or having a picnic or BBQ. Also, you can use a bike. The park offers different trails from 1.25 to 6 miles. It's a good idea to arrive early.

We were at the Eagle Creek Park with our friends for Kayaking today. The water was so calm, you can either rent out kayaks or get your own kayaks too. There’s single and double options. They also have lot of other options to ride on the water. There is also picnic area by the Marina, you can set up and have a leisure day under the shade of trees.

Restaurant
Livery is a Latin-inspired restaurant located in a restored 19th-century horse stable near Massachusetts Avenue, offering a stylish bi-level space with an all-season rooftop patio. The menu features Latin classics such as empanadas, pork belly tacos, and house-made churros, along with a tequila-forward cocktail list. The restaurant is part of the Cunningham Restaurant Group and is known for bringing Latin flair and flavors to Indianapolis dining.
This place is amazing. Very nice staff, Hannah who served us was great…. The food is ridiculously good. The flavors, the way the chef has combined them… we ordered 3 apps, 2 empanadas and shared the skirt steak. Every single dish was a home run. I am a foodie and this place is a really good.

My husband and I first time at this establishment we were referred by some friends. Came for dinner the place was booming since we did not have a reservation there was like a ten minute wait. The hostess was very friendly, informative and professional. Our server Josh was nice attentive with good personality. We had the chicken empanadas which were amazing, Green Chile Lamb, and Chicken Enchiladas. All of the food was amazing well seasoned and deliciously put together. My husband tried the cocktail called “What we aren’t gonna do” with Tito’s in it and blood orange. Would definitely recommend this place and will return🔥🔥👍
Monique M — Google review
Tl;dr we enjoyed our meal very much and would come back to try everything on the menu. The venue is quite lovely with nice outdoor seating and just the right amount of space between tables. Waitstaff was kind and very helpful with recommendations. We were provided with some complimentary chicharrones (vegan) at the start of the meal, which were light and crispy. We started off our meal with the cauliflower appetizer, which was delicious and also quite creative—it had sweet, savory, and spicy elements to it with fun textural components, especially with the crunchy pepita seeds! My only suggestion for the dish is that it be cooked in smaller chunks because the insides of the cauliflower pieces did not get enough of the seasoning and were a bit crunchy/raw cauliflower-forward. For our entrees, we got the paella and skirt steak. Both were well-executed. Paella was solid but did not blow me out of the water. The scallop was cooked to perfection though. I’m also not one to be particularly impressed by steaks, so I thought the steak (medium-rare) dish was pretty good, but my partner really enjoyed it! I thought the machego-polenta fry was a nice addition and the broccolini was my favorite part of the dish. We finished off our meal with an apple and caramel tres leches dish, which was like a McDonalds apple pie filling with tres leches cake! A bit too sweet for me and I did wish there was more ice cream to accompany the cake, but overall, it was a good finish to the meal. We started searching on our phones for other livery locations in hopes that one would be closer to us in our home states. If we lived in the area, we would definitely come back to check out all the dishes on the menu.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional dining experience — the Skirt Steak is a must! Had an amazing dinner at Livery on N College Ave, and it easily deserves five stars. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and vibrant — perfect for a night out with friends or a date. I ordered the Skirt Steak, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Cooked perfectly medium-rare, tender and full of bold Latin-inspired flavors. The seasoning was spot-on, and the sides complemented the dish beautifully. Every bite was rich and satisfying without being too heavy. Service was top-notch — our server was attentive, friendly, and gave great recommendations. The drink selection was also impressive, with unique cocktails that paired well with the food. If you're in Indianapolis and want a place with both style and substance, Livery is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes, but that skirt steak will be hard to beat!
Tuung T — Google review
Came to Livery after the Colts and Raiders game. My husband got Skirt Steak. Probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The drinks were very good too. Empanadas were very flavorful. Would definitely recommend eating here if you’re looking for Mexican food while being in downtown Indy.

Absolutely loved this place. We tried all the vegetarian options on the menu and each bite was amazing and tasted rich till the last bite, staff was absolutely fantastic and took great care of our dietary choices and everyone knew what the menu was and knew each dish well, thats the true sign of a well functioning restaurant. When everyone knows the menu inside and out. The place was packed, good we went there with a reservation, although they allow walk ins but would strongly recommend reserving your spot before. Thoroughly enjoyed each dish and we ended up spending a lot, but worth the price. Last time i went with my colleagues and had skirt steak, just melts in your mouth. Amazing plating skills, with equally excellent quality and tasty food.
Bhargav V — Google review
Absolutely LOVED our experience at Livery. The cocktails were delicious and fun combinations. The food was delicious and great portions sizes too. Presentation was spot on as well. Highly recommend the seasonal flan - we had cherry and again, delicious! Definitely coming back for more. Do yourself a favor and get some empanadas. We did queso and I’m considering the flight for next time to try more flavors. I also love nice restaurants that offer patio spaces - which they do!

I had one of the best experience in this restaurant since we got there until we ate the last bite of the dessert it was amazing. The food was delicious 10/10 the spices, the flavor, the balances wow. The attention was great our server Erika was special to us. You must have to go to this place. Music was a little to loud for me but again the best. I’m coming back.

The Rathskeller in Indianapolis is a must-visit destination for those seeking an authentic German experience. Housed in the historic 19th-century Athenaeum building, this indoor/outdoor beer hall boasts Bavarian-style decor and offers a wide selection of German food and beers. The venue hosts live music events and occasional Oktoberfest celebrations, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
I'm a sucker for German food so I was excited to get to visit the Rathskeller. Not only do they have a huge menu of German specialties, but the location is super cool and historical. It really does transport you to a traditional German restaurant while you're here. The food itself was delicious. I tried the sauerbraten which is a German pot roast and it was absolutely delicious! The pretzels are also tasty, though beware of that spicy mustard! Prices are a little high, but we visited for lunch and appreciated the lower cost of their lunch menu. They do have a kids menu and our daughters enjoyed their food as well. Service was friendly and our food came out quickly as well. If you're looking for a unique dining experience, you have to give this place a shot!

This is such a unique and historic place. The Rathskeller Biergarden is a super cool music venue. Has an interesting set up separate from the Bavarian themed restaurant and bar. The vibe is fun. Food is great... Check it out!
Mark M — Google review
Really good German food! I had the schnitzel. My husband had the ox tail soup. My grandson had the roulade (without gravy), and we got a sample player of bratwurst to share. On one plate or another, there was sauerkraut and beets and German potato salad. Plus, they brought warm, chewy pretzels as the "bread" for the table. My husband loved the mustard so much he wanted to buy a jar to bring home. Alas, they don't sell it. Very attentive and helpful service.
Janet K — Google review
We love a good German restaurant, this place came recommended and it did not disappoint! Everything was fantastic! The beer was amazing! Staff were top notch and very jovial. The wife and I both loved the atmosphere and will probably always pop in whenever we are in Indianapolis. Cheers 🍻

Rathskeller is a beautiful building with great food and beer. Its unique atmosphere make it a great location for a great dining experience. I bring my family and business associates. It is always a good time. Beer garden is fun when going. It is relaxing and enjoyable.
Clint C — Google review
It's not every day I go to a restaurant and leave a review. It's even less likely that I leave a review that's overwhelming positive in every single aspect of my visit. Not only is the decor of the restaurant really cool to look at there's also a history here. As far as food goes I got the Jaegerschnitzel. It comes with the soup of the day as well as bread service. The soup was a creamy tomato and I'll be daamed if I don't try to find the recipe somewhere it was that good. The "bread" service was a big soft pretzel and a spicy mustard. The mustard was really spicy but really good so use sparingly. The mushroom sauce on top of the Schnitzel was to die for. Not only that but the Schnitzel itself was very flavorful and light. The "accompaniments" that I got were the German Potato Salad and the Spaetzle Noodles. The potato salad was a sweet flavor and very delicious. It was an unexpected flavor but very welcomed. The Noodles were very interesting. From what I could taste they reminded me of really good dumplings. I did indulge in a beer when I went. It was the "Warsteiner Isenbeck" a Stout beer. It was really easy to drink and had a great flavor as well. I'd highly recommend. I went for two deserts for me and my partner to share. The first was the Apple Strudel Alamode. It needs every piece of this plate to make itself work but it's very light and very good. The other was the Rathskeller Bread Pudding. I have few words other than perfection. This last light and not overly sweet. I loved every bite. The last and most important part of this entire experience was our server. Michael who was are bartender/server was an experience. One of the best servers I've ever had it's not hard to see why he's been here for 20 years. I was happy talking with him and he made our experience all that more special. Will I be back? Absolutely they have a outside patio with live music so got to come back for that. They have amazing food so I need to try more. And the staff just watching them makes me feel like there comrades in arms rather than coworkers. My only regret I ate the soup and entree so fast I forgot to take a photo.

Really mcke environment and a really tasty menu. There was an event happening later but they were happy to serve us before it started.
David V — Google review
We shared a hot wurst plate and every one of them were delicious! Nice selection of German and Bavarian beers. After that, I was pretty full, so I opted for a bowl of their tomato soup and a pretzel for dinner and it was all delicious as well. My colleagues ordered the Sauerbraten and the Schlacht Platte, they both looked fantastic, and were enjoyed by them. We were seated in the Kellerbar area. There was also a Biergarten outdoors, with loud contemporary live music. There was a $20 cover to go out there, which we did not do this evening, but it seemed to draw a younger crowd and was very busy. Looks like it would be a fun night out!

White River State Park, located in the heart of downtown, is a sprawling urban park along the banks of the White River. Visitors can enjoy activities like strolling along the riverside trail or exploring the canal walk with options for gondola rides and paddleboat rentals. The park also houses Victory Field, home to minor league baseball's Indianapolis Indians.
Wow, I happened upon this park at the recommendation of the front desk at the hotel I was staying at. Walked around 3 miles or so of the surrounding canal walkway and park area. The area is absolutely gorgeous and extremely well maintained. Being from Cleveland, it was fantastic to see how this park was set up and how the canal path ran through the heart of downtown. Loved being able to sight see while exploring. All the museums and art areas were easily accessible as a result of how the walkway was laid out.

White River State Park is extraordinary! It truly stands out among Indianapolis's many green spaces, and we had a beautiful Sunday afternoon exploring it. The park boasts stunning lawns, serene water features, the river, a lovely pedestrian bridge, public art, and picturesque views. We especially enjoyed walking our dogs along the promenade near the zoo. Plus, its location is incredibly convenient, offering easy access to numerous other attractions like the ballpark, museums, and the canal. You could spend hours here and still not cover it all. In terms of parking, there is an underground parking garage immediately next to the park.

It was a nice river walk. It would have been even better if we had found a coffee shop or some food places and test area near the canal.

I absolutely love White River State Park and the Amphitheater! Always clean, always professional and willing to assist with needs and wants, both in phone contact and on the premises. The venue is perfect, especially on a warm summer night as the sunsets. The lawn is pleasant. It's nice having something like this so much more closer and convenient than...

Cemetery
Crown Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, established in 1863, is a captivating destination that draws both locals and visitors to Indianapolis. Spanning an impressive 555 acres, it stands as the third-largest cemetery in the United States. The site features stunning Gothic Revival architecture, including a striking gateway and a beautiful chapel. With its rolling hills and serene landscapes, Crown Hill offers more than just a resting place; it's an oasis for those seeking tranquility or wishing to explore history.
Gorgeous cemetery. Easy to access and get around. Visited alot of graves here from actors to gangsters to even a president. Love coming to these places
RandomAndysChannel2 — Google review
It's a very large cemetery, nice, peaceful, but there doesn't seem to be any rhythm or reason to the sections. But after driving around for a bit, we did locate the sections we needed. Paid our respects and carried on. This place has quite the history, such as Gatlin, Dillenger, and a former president, to name a few.

This is a well-maintained cemetery with just a few areas needing attention. What's truly impressive is the history and the stories of those buried here. Anyone born or raised in Indiana will find familiar names, and with a little research, you'll discover lesser-known legends who contributed not only to the state but to the entire nation. Be sure to wear good walking shoes and allow a few hours to explore. Don't miss the city views near James Whitcomb Riley's grave and have Google Maps (in walking mode) handy to help you navigate directly to your desired locations. A few of the many that you don't want to miss: James Whitcomb Riley 📖 President Benjamin Harrison 🇺🇸 Irsays 🏈 ( not far from a view Lucas Oil Stadium) Lilly Family 💊 Race Legends 🏁🏎️🏁 John Dillenger 🔫 Crown Hill National Cemetery 💜🎖️🫡 Gothic Chapel⛪ great photo opportunities and public restrooms.

Y. Glazebrook’s team provided outstanding support to us during a very difficult time. Her proactive and compassionate guidance ensured that everything went smoothly, and we truly appreciated being kept informed throughout the entire process. A special thank you to Danielle for her kindness and assistance during both the private viewing and day of the services. Thank you Crown Hill Funeral Home for your exceptional care and support.

My mom decided to prepay for her services several years ago and that made things much easier to handle. I didn’t have to worry about if she had life insurance or figuring out how to pay for her to be cremated. This truly took so much of the stress of having a loved one pass away. They made sure I had all the necessary paperwork to transport her ashes across state lines (which I did not know was something that you needed.) my whole family lives up in Michigan and I am down in Indiana so knowing that she would be cremated to be able to take her back home to Michigan to be buried in her plot next to my dad made perfect sense. My mom was diagnosed with cancer 1 week before she passed, we didn’t even have hospice on board for 24 hours. So, while we knew she would be passing away sooner rather than later we did not expect for her to go 1 week after diagnosis. That made the blow for me much stronger and as i told my mom’s story to Danielle when we first came in to finalize all of the paperwork she actually was crying with me. To me that made working with them even more incredible. I was dealing with a real human being with true emotions. I don’t walk out feeling like just dealing with an animated human that feels more like a robot without feelings. I made that very clear with her and her supervisor that I truly, truly appreciated the fact that she works in the business of death on a daily basis turn her heart into something humans shouldn’t have in it’s place…stone. So thank you once again to Danielle for showing that it is okay to feel the grief the families are feeling.

The same week brought two devastating losses in my family, yet Danielle Love, the funeral director, demonstrated remarkable compassion and professionalism. She skillfully navigated me and my family through the process, providing reassurance and peace of mind. Her team's empathy, support, and dedication ensured a dignified farewell for my brother. I am profoundly grateful for their invaluable assistance during this difficult time.

Simply beautiful! I was absolutely amazed at the magnitude, design and location of James Whitcomb Riley’s memorial. This adoration of this man went far by so many. Not only did we all love his work, but local children personally had a special connection with him. It tugs so much at my heartstrings to know that they donated coins for his memorial. Happy to add some more to make their way to The Riley Hospital for Children. I am so happy that we came across this cemetery and we’re able to lay our respects.

Museums
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis stands as a beacon of creativity and learning, proudly holding the title of the largest children's museum in the world. This vibrant destination is packed with interactive exhibits that captivate young minds, from exploring dinosaur bones in Dinosphere to immersing themselves in a recreation of modern Greece complete with charming sidewalk cafes. Visitors can enjoy a delightful ride on a historic carousel or gaze at the stunning 43-foot Dale Chihuly glass sculpture that greets them at the entrance.
Wonderful adventure! First, I was kind of shocked at the cost of admission. As an IN resident on a Monday, it was $98 for me and my 2 children to get in. Once inside, I was much more understanding! I'll be applying our admission today towards a membership! 5 levels (LL, and 1-4) plus the 7+ acres of outdoor fun! The take-a-break room was fantastic for us when we got sensory overload from the lights and noise and people, specifically after lunch. Speaking of which... cost me $52 for 2 slices of pizza ($6.75 each), 2 breadsticks ($5.50), a salad ($16!), and 3 fountain drinks ($16.85). I expected some fairly high prices but the $16 for a salad and the same price for 3 fountain drinks threw me for a loop. Next time, we'll head out for lunch and come back. 😅 Overall, though, the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are worn out. If you're planning to do all of it in 1 day... don't. We arrived at 11:30 am and at 4:41 pm. We really rushed through after lunch when we realized we still had 2 levels and the outdoor area to still get to. They do offer "second day" passes for cheaper than general admission, but that would've still been another $50 for the 3 of us. With the bottom-tier family membership at $225, 2 visits and it's basically paid for itself!

From the second you see the gigantic dinosaur cracking the building open from the car, it is an amazing experience. Every floor is absolutely packed with amazing exhibits. Things for children and parents, nostalgia at its best. On top of the amazing and beautiful exhibits, they have so many things for little children to do. The playscape is a life saver for kids who need to get some energy out. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They are so open to nursing mothers and mothers with small babies in general when it comes to feeding, relaxing, changing. 100/10 recommend. I'd go even if I didn't have kids with me.
Cindy J — Google review
Very good and large museum for all ages of children. It's interactive and knowledge sharing for children. It's great place to take your children here. You must have enough time in hand to see indoor as well as out door facilities. Nicely made museum.
Sukumar S — Google review
This was probably the highlight of our trip! We spent 6 hours here and recommend planning for a full day here. We bought tickets in advance and took a look at all the exhibits ahead of time so we weren't overwhelmed on where to start. This museum is great for families with kids of all ages. It is super stroller friendly with the ramp to get from one floor to another. You were never more than a tiny walk to a bathroom, great diaper changing areas, water bottle refills, and benches. The Playscapes area was great for our toddler to run around and burn off some energy. All three of our kids loved the outdoor sports exhibit! They played hockey, baseball, football, basketball, took a lap around the mini speedway, and climbed through the tree! This place has it all. The cafeteria was excellent for lunch and has a highchair. Lots of great learning and core memories made here! Cannot recommend enough!
Jenna W — Google review
Great immersive museum for children. There’s areas for babies and under 5 and then areas meant for kids 8-9+ and plenty for adults to see as well. Unfortunately the weather was a bit cold so we missed the outside sports area, but it looked very fun. The blown glass sculpture and water clock were were impressive, as were the large dinosaurs inside and outside. Free parking was great, but I wish adult admissions weren’t so expensive or perhaps a discount for second parent to offset the price. It was around $90 for our family of 3. If we lived closer we’d definitely become members.
Mike V — Google review
The 3 little ones and some family really had an amazing time at the Museum. They were able to create(color) their own dinosaur and watch it come to LIFE! They tried the outdoor sports center and went up the huge treehouse! Enjoyed playing music and seeing all of the different exhibits. They had a great time and absolutely LOVED it!
Sabrina J — Google review
Super cool experience and highly recommend! Going on Thursdays at 4 pm will get you a big discount on tickets. Is a great place for children to be children and explore a safe space where everything is touchable.

My family has always wanted to try this museum but the timing never worked out until yesterday! We went on a summer weekday when some Indiana schools were already in session. We went with 4 adults and three kids ages 4, 9 & 11. We bought tickets in advance and parked in the free covered lot. Entry was a breeze and my kids immediately found activities to interest them. We ate at the museum and the food was good (better than many other museums) and very good choices. Prices seemed fine. We were busy from 11-3 and then had to leave but missed two floors! I think my 11yo might be aging out but anyone into sports or solving mysteries would still love it! I would go back! The special Peru exhibit was our favorite, followed by the sports area and the Rube Goldberg Machine.

The Indiana War Memorial & Museum, located in Indianapolis, is a tribute to the city's rich military history. Situated within the Indiana World War Memorial Plaza, this free museum commemorates the USS Indianapolis heavy cruiser and its significant role in American naval history during WWII. Visitors can explore various exhibits and artifacts that tell the story of the ship and its crew.
The Indiana War Memorial is a powerful and moving tribute to the state’s veterans, set in a beautifully designed neoclassical building. With its impressive architecture, peaceful plaza, and immersive museum inside, it’s a must-visit for history lovers. The memorial honors sacrifice with dignity and offers a quiet, reflective space right in the heart of the city.

Excellent history of the US military, from the French-Indian War to the present, told from the point of view of Indiana. Huge collection of artifacts augmented with videos, dioramas, models, and more. I loved the display comparing the shoes and boots worn by competing armies in WWI, for example. Nothing really hands-on for kids, though. Some of the mannequins were worn, with cracks running all over their faces. But most things looked well maintained. I was impressed with how well the museum showed Black and women involvement in military history, including in the state of Indiana. Beyond the historical displays, there was a stunning auditorium. The upstairs was closed when we were there. (They were in the process of repairing a leaking roof.) So we missed seeing what is supposed to be a spectacular shrine up there. There was no cost to enter, but we left a donation. There are multiple levels. I did notice lifts for wheelchairs by some of the stairs. There was plenty of paid on-street parking available nearby.
Janet K — Google review
Such a cool "attraction" in Indianapolis. However, the sole reason for going was the upstairs space with the flag and the soldiers monument. It was closed for maintenance. I was not happy about that, but just bad luck on our part. It is free to visit and I recommend doing so. Poignant section on 9/11 with Hoosiers who lost their lives, and an entire section on the U.S.S. Indianapolis.

This is a really cool monument with a free museum. If you like beautiful buildings you need to see this one. Highly recommend 💚💯💯

This is great museum! I learned information about the 9/11 attack on New York, I learned about the soldiers that were underground they have a proper name and I do apologize for not remembering. If someone knows what they're called please let me know. These soldiers were underground in narrow, dark, labyrinths. They even had to be able to load their guns in complete darkness because they only had a flashlight to use. I learned about the meaning as-salaamu alaykum this means "peace be upon you". There's so much to see here and it's free admission. The lady who works at the front desk was very polite, and friendly. Overall I enjoyed the museum I learned about so much and I would definitely come again.

So glad we were able to see this. A lovely tribute to our service men and women, in a really cool building with lots of history.

Indianapolis, Indiana, has the largest acreage dedicated to war memorials in the U.S., with 25 acres in the Indiana War Memorial Plaza Historic District, honoring veterans from various wars. This district is a historic landmark that features multiple parks, fountains, and various monuments, including the Indiana War Memorial and the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
Chitendra G — Google review
The museum is by donation only. There's no entrance fee. The tower is closed for repairs. They are hoping to open again by the end of this year. It's a large museum with lots of information specific to Indiana war history and the residents that fought in them. The building is art deco, just gorgeous! It's definitely worth going to see.

Went to see the renovated museum and take the track tour. Very nice updates to the museum with many realistic displays. The 8 minute movie was a very immersive experience . The museum was a little smaller than expected with lot of empty floor space for crowds or additional displays later.

Phenomenal historical visit. Not an Indy car or nascar guy, but the place was awesome! Museum was stellar, people were very friendly, and you could feel the history all around you. Amazing racing venue. Unfortunately went on a half rainy day, but it was very cool to walk around the inside of the track. Lots of great angles, specifically the back straight and turns 12-14 (last set of turns). Would definitely see another GT3 race here again.

Designed by renowned German landscape architect George Kessler in 1916, the conservatory boasts an elegant art-deco style with expansive glass panels and houses an array of plant species including ferns, bananas, palms, orchids, coffee, and vanilla.
We stopped in here to pass some time before a concert and were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it was. We didn't realize there was a gnome event and lots of small children were running around. We still enjoyed our visit, just had a bit of loud background noise while we took in the beautiful scenery. I even purchased a plant to take home with us as a souvenir!

First time visiting. Learned about it through my work at a local community center. We like to take our students there. Great space to explore nature, chill, learn about plant life and just be impressed by wildlife. Great reception from the person at the desk. I will say it was hotter than I expected. The structure is well done, there’s a small trail that takes you all throughout the conservancy. Great spot for photos, and a fun spot for a chill date, and more importantly, to wind down. Oh and they have an outdoor children’s garden outside with chickens that have their own garden to feed. Great spot to explore in the city. Cost was $2/person.

Fort Harrison State Park, situated in Lawrence, Indiana, spans 1,700 acres and is built on the former site of Fort Benjamin Harrison. The park offers a range of activities including cross-country skiing, fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. It features historic sites such as a Civilian Conservation Corps camp and a former Citizen's Military Training Camp.
Fort Harrison State Park is a hidden gem, and it's even better when you bring your furry friend! I visited with my cat and had a great time exploring. The Saddle Barns are really fun to check out—unique and full of character. There's a beautiful lake where lots of people were fishing, creating a peaceful, relaxing vibe. I especially loved the free picnic areas with built-in grill tools—perfect for a spontaneous cookout. A great place to spend the day in nature with plenty to see and do!

Great park! I can't believe I waited so long to visit. I went for my New Years Day hike. I was disappointed that there were employees at the gate in New Years it being a holiday and all. I was even more disappointed when she asked for the gate fee and it was 1$ more than the other Indiana State Parks!!! I honestly should say I was appalled. Overall I was impressed. There is a playground with an in grounds slide. The restrooms were very clean and all of the stalls had toilet paper. I walked the 4 mile trail. It was a bit challenging and I found the way the trail winds in and out of the hills interesting. I drove all the roads and found the old barracks and horse stalls. I also drove past picnic areas. The picnic areas had me think about the hot summers we get and how there aren't many trees around for shade. I'd like to go back and hike this park more but unfortunately I think the open hours will conflict with my schedule.
Kelsi W — Google review
The saddle barn was amazing. However, we stayed after to hike around and found the map given to be less than useful due to the trails themselves are poorly marked. I also was not a fan you frequently could see another trail making the trails to feel a bit crowded together. However, for being so convenient to Indianapolis, it is a nice State Park.
Kelly P — Google review
Paved and non paved trails, clean enough restrooms, cool playgrounds, you will need to pay $7 in state and $9 per car each time to enter of you do not have an annual pass.

Absolutely beautiful park just east of the Indianapolis metro area. Very well maintained by Indiana DNR. Many trails, including at least one along side a beautiful clear water creek. Lots of picnic areas, horseback riding, and even a golf course. Great place for relaxing and getting away by yourself or with family. One of Indiana's nicer state parks. I highly recommend. $7 entry for Indiana registered vehicles. $11 for non-Indiana registered vehicles. Worth every penny.

Go here for the beautiful rooftop view of Downtown Indianapolis. We got some great photos and had a fun time! The drinks are good. I enjoyed their summer specials. They’re also doing a good job of monitoring capacity and ensuring spacing and safety during the pandemic. The staff were friendly and bartenders helpful and fast. Something to know, there are no restrooms on the Rooftop Garden & Lounge. You have to go down to Atomic Duckpin Bowling level in the same building. Not great upkeep of those bathrooms but again, you’re there for the rooftop view.

First time being up here, and I fell in love. The views are great, the music is awesome, and their drink selections hit the spot. Very cool spot to be at. You do have to take the elevator to the top floor, and the bathrooms are on the first floor.

I've been here a couple times and overall it's ... fine, I guess? The rooftop aspect is what makes it interesting, but everything else falls short. Drinks are passable but not fantastic. Too expensive, in my opinion. Not really enough seating, and most of the seating and other structures are not permanent fixtures. Glad I've experienced it, but I have no plan to return in the future.

The Indianapolis Zoo, located in White River State Park, is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Spanning 64 acres, it houses over 3,800 animals from various species. Visitors can explore a wide range of exhibits featuring rare and endangered creatures such as white rhinos, Amur tigers, Guinea baboons, red pandas, and Komodo dragons. The zoo offers interactive experiences including live feedings and trainer shows that appeal to all ages.
What’s not to love about the Indianapolis Zoo? Having a membership for two years now, my family has fully experienced all the finest parts of the zoo over and over again. The membership pays for itself after only two visits a year, and we’ve gone at least 10-12 times each year. From ZooBoo to Christmas at the Zoo are the iconic ones, but the times during the weekdays when there are no field trips or herds of children are the best for my part-time home wife. My daughter has fed giraffes, pet kangaroos, had her face painted and ate Dippin’ Dots on her birthday, rode the train, watched dolphins splash her, gave high-fives at the plexiglass at the orangutangs, smelled flowers, asked why Flamingos are pink, and almost has a visual map in her head of the entire park. Have I mentioned she just turned three years old? My son is 9 months old, and he’s had a handful of times already at the zoo, and the amount of experiences the zoo has provided has sustained into our home with imagination zookeeping, making animal noises, reading out of picturebooks her favorite zoo animals, and instead of “Old MacDonald had a farm” it is now “Old MacDonald had a zoo!”. As a former educator for 15 years, I have witnessed students who have had experiences outside of the home greatly enrich their education and their overall social capital. Having my daughter exposed to so much of the world in the middle of the heartland of Indiana, through the Indianapolis Zoo, I know that she will find her passions in helping conserve and create a better world for the next generations with the education she’s learning here. I am inspired to continue inviting her into these spaces, and I look forward to seeing the wanderlust my son will have for these escapades to the jungle and prairie and everywhere in the park. If I could give 10 Google reviews with 5-stars, I would give so much emphasis on how essential it is to get a membership, show up and provide the story of the Indianapolis Zoo to embed into your children, and watch them become fuller with each visit. And you, as the parent of course, can have unlimited soft drinks while you mosey! THANK YOU, Indy Zoo! You have members for life!

What a great experience, went during the week, less crowded. It was our first time at the zoo. It was gorgeous. I loved all the places that you can and just sit and observe the animals. The park was so clean. I can't say enough great things about the staff, they were so kind and offered up all the events coming up at the zoo. You must take the time to visit the chimpanzees and the orangutans. They so much room to move around, you always have to be on the lookout. Love Indianapolis zoo can't wait to go back.

We took the kids to the Indianapolis Zoo during a weekend trip, and it was a great time all around. The place is huge — you could easily spend half a day wandering around without realizing it. We saw all the big hitters: elephants, giraffes, kangaroos, and a bunch of others that I’m pretty sure my kids renamed halfway through (“Look, it’s a long-necked horse!”). We splurged on feeding the giraffes and flamingos, and it was totally worth it — the kids were thrilled, and we got some great photos out of it. We also took them on the little rollercoaster, which they absolutely loved (and which gave us a much-needed break from walking). The dolphin show was definitely the highlight — entertaining, well done, and a nice break from all the walking. The zoo was packed since the weather was perfect and they were handing out candy to kids dressed up for Halloween, so it had a fun, festive vibe (and a sugar-fueled chaos energy). We grabbed some food from one of the stalls expecting the usual overpriced “theme park” meal, but honestly? It wasn’t bad at all. The fries, chicken tenders, and nachos actually hit the spot — maybe we were just starving, but still, solid effort. All in all, 4 stars — great experience, awesome for families, and bonus points for not charging $20 for fries. Just be ready for crowds if you go on a nice day!

I've been to a handful of zoos in my life. The Indianapolis Zoo is my favorite that I've been to. The layout made for a wonderful experience as we moved from one exhibit to another. I also think the gardens and foliage planted along all the exhibits really added to it. We went on a Wednesday in the middle of August. Crowds were light which made for an easy viewing of all exhibits. All the animals were active. Watched the cheetahs chase each other around. Then we were lucky to see them get feed raw meat by the zoo keepers. The dolphin show was fun. The tropical bird and butterfly enclosures were awesome to walk through. I'd highly recommend making this zoo a destination if you visit Indianapolis.

Go now, in October, it is decorated beautifully. I love going. Landscaped and waling layout gives you curvy trails of shade and quiet areas to enjoy seeing the animals. The plants are amazing, such a variety. The front had the cutest Halloween/October themes. If you are a Purdue employee, check out the deep discount, buy it now and use it any day. Everything is just beautiful.

Loved the place. Went with my baby and he absolutely loved all the animals. Even got to see some animals we never thought we'd see in our lifetime. Also great to talk with the zookeepers as they really care about the animals and the wellbeing of their species

✨ As a wedding photographer, I absolutely love working at the Indianapolis Zoo! Not only are the grounds stunning—with so many unique backdrops that make wedding photos truly magical—but the staff is also incredibly kind and helpful to work with. From start to finish, they were organized, welcoming, and made the day run so smoothly—not just for the couple, but for us vendors, too! There’s something so special about celebrating a love story surrounded by nature, and the zoo offers that in the most beautiful way. It’s a one-of-a-kind venue, and I always look forward to capturing weddings here! Highly recommend for couples looking for a venue that’s both elegant and fun!

Hands down, middle of the week mornings are the best time to go. The Zoo has made so many improvements, and is looking amazing. With that comes the constant construction. However, its is 100% worth the minor inconvenience. If this is your first time considering the Zoo, DO IT ! Definitely top of the list things to do with the kiddos. The outdoor event center is absolutely stunning, and provides an abundance of shade for relaxing under.

The Central Canal in downtown Indianapolis offers a picturesque waterway that is perfect for various outdoor activities such as walking, jogging, and biking. The canal provides stunning views of the city skyline and is an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll, especially during sunset. Visitors can also explore the diverse shops and restaurants along the canal. Originally built for industrial purposes in the 19th century, the canal has been transformed into a recreational area with paddleboats and kayaks available for rent.
These are a few photos of the beatiful architecture that you get to see while walking along the canal. I really, really enjoy my weekly walks that I take along the canal. I do it for my health and peace of mind.

I came across the Canal Walk while visiting Indianapolis and exploring the city on foot. It turned out to be one of the highlights of my stroll — a peaceful, well-designed path that winds along the water right through the heart of downtown. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a mix of locals and tourists enjoying the scenery, public art, and shaded areas. I saw people kayaking and even pedaling around in water bikes, which added a fun, active vibe to the otherwise calm surroundings. It’s a perfect route for a mindful walk, with plenty of spots to pause, take photos, or just enjoy the blend of nature and city life. If you’re ever in Indy, it’s absolutely worth checking out.

Passing through Indianapolis and decided to check out the central canal before being on my way. Way more beautiful and clean that I expected. No trash, graffiti, or unsavory elements. Residents walking, or jogging and take it all in like me. I walked pretty far along the canal and enjoyed the relaxation.
TheDSsucks — Google review
It's a special place to run, with a great atmosphere. You might come across some duck droppings along the path, so just be mindful and run around them. The scenic views along the way make the run so enjoyable that you forget you're even tired. For me, one loop is about 4–5 km, which is just the right daily distance.

This river walk seemed cool ! We went on a weekday & it was less crowded. Didn’t feel unsafe. Well maintained, smelled good . Enjoy beautiful city landscape while walking. Wanted to have a boat ride across the canal but boat riding service was temporarily closed .

A peaceful walk along a well kept canal replete with ducks and geese in the middle of the city is quite a treat. I was staying in an adjacent hotel and returned three times for exercise, fresh air and peace. There is an Italian restaurant complete with gondolas for hire and the boatmen give a running commentary on the area they are passing. It's worth going down to the junction of the canal with White River where manicured lawns and views to the horizon without sight of manmade anything offer some of the glories of nature without the wild danger!

Absolutely beautiful place to take the family for a walk. We were very surprised at how nice the walking paths were and the amount of shade trees throughout was very nice. We're going back tomorrow morning!

Located in downtown Indianapolis, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art is a unique attraction celebrating the art and culture of Native Americans across North America. The museum features a vast collection of paintings, sculptures, and jewelry-making with a special focus on Native American cultures. With over 74,000 square feet of space including an outdoor amphitheater, it offers something for everyone from colorful fine art that appeals to young children to fascinating stories that history buffs will revel in.
What a great specialty art museum! We saw Remington's very first bronze in "Attitudes: The West in American Art." (That bronc rider doesn't stand a chance--he's lost one of his stirrups.) We saw all kinds of contemporary beadwork in "Radical Stitch." There was tons more Native art upstairs, from the coast to coast up to Alaska and Canadian tribes. Plus, there were interactive activities that I just had to play with. We spent about two and a half hours there and explored just about everything.
Janet K — Google review
Beautiful art! For your average spectator, you can be through in an hour. They have hands- on, interactive things like putting together puzzles, sketching art, etc. The family zone downstairs was a hit with our students!! They got so into running the restaurant and taking care of the horses. The onsite cafe has good fresh food options .
Keiron M — Google review
This museum was PHENOMENAL. The variety of artwork was amazing. We really enjoyed how the museum showcased not only “conventional” native artwork, but also made a point of showing how native artists use traditional techniques with modern materials to highlight issues that they currently face in today’s culture. The museum is a must see if you’re visiting Indianapolis. The children’s area is also packed full of hands-on play opportunities.

Definitely a great place to walk around. They have lots of sculptures and random art pieces around the property. Even without going inside this place has a lot to offer. Their grounds were clean with a peaceful atmosphere. Outback they had multiple sets of corn hole/bags which was a nice thing for the kids. Overall this is a nice place to see art and kill some time with the family.

I’m not a art expert but I enjoyed the Eiteljord. Lots of beautiful American Indian artworks, Western paintings (including lesser known Georgia O’Keeffe pieces), sculptures, and other interesting displays. The day we went there was an exhibit of Inuit art which was very interesting. The cafe is pretty good too. Validated parking is a plus.

The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, located in the Northside Historic District of Indianapolis, offers a comprehensive look at the life of the 23rd U.S. president. Visitors can explore exhibits and take tours that cover his boyhood days, early political career, and role in the American Civil War. The site also features lectures, theater performances, and a unique Candlelight Theatre experience inside the mansion.
Always love learning about history! $16 per person entry but well worth it. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable. We threw lots of questions his way and he was a wealth of information. So interesting!

The tour is worth it for adults only. A chance to learn about a president that does not get mentioned very much. A beautiful home with plenty of items from his time in office. I did not know he dedicated the Washington monument.
Lee C — Google review
The private tour was great! What’s even better is the fact that so many items in the house actually belonged to former president Harrison! It helps you to really step back in time! Our guide Gary was great with knowledge on everything! Would definitely recommend checking this out!

Worth the price: the guide gave a thorough introduction of the housing as well as the family structure of President Benjamin Harrison. I loved the interesting stories about Harrison’s children and his early career the most!
Freyr Z — Google review
Though originally from Ohio, Harrison moved to Indiana as an adult and lived here after his presidency. To see the house you join a tour, which is full of information, some well known and some less well known. At the end of the tour we learned his 2nd wife is the reason this house and much of his presidential memorabilia still exists.

Note that spouse and I are US history buffs. Enjoyed our visit and tour of the home/grounds quite a bit. Add time to your visit for stroll down historic Delaware St as well.

We enjoyed our tour. It was very detailed and full of information so be ready to spend close to two hours on site. The tour schedule is spread out so you definitely need to plan your day around a tour time. Parking is primarily on the street and there are a lot of one way streets in the area so map it ahead of time. The house is filled with the families belongings so it is easy to imagine the home as it was years ago.

This is an incredible display of living history, everything from the grounds, the meticulously preserved house, and every item kept within that belonged to the Harrison family tell tales from the past. Our guide Gary did an amazing job and was very well educated about the Former President, the Harrison family, and American politics of the period. He made the tour fun and entertaining, while being informative at the same time. Thanks all who made this historic site possible! 😁

The Indiana State Museum is a must-visit attraction in Indianapolis, offering a diverse range of exhibits that cover everything from fossils to pop culture. Located within the scenic White River State Park, the museum is surrounded by other notable attractions such as the NCAA Hall of Champions sports museum and the Eiteljorg Museum. Visitors can also explore nearby landmarks like Victory Field and Lucas Oil Stadium. Additionally, history enthusiasts will appreciate the opportunity to delve into Indiana's rich heritage, including connections to U.S.
Holy COW this museum was great! Firstly, it is organized chronologically, as opposed to most museums which are organized by genre/concept. This made it feel more akin to a journey through time in Indiana. The exhibits also included miniature images of the state with a pin placed to show where in Indiana each artifact was found! So cool! Certain exhibits, particularly fossils, also included sculpted casts by the information plaques, I'm assuming for blind visitors to "see" the exhibits with their hands. This was very neat as well! The facility was clean and the café (especially the customer service!!!) was great.

Leaving a review and shout out for Erica Montgomery, the Event Coordinator there. My Wife and I booked an area for our wedding last week and when I say Erica is the best, she is the best. From the communication, care, above and beyond effort, to the actual day of running back and forth bridging the gaps, her assistance was vital, appreciated, and treasured. She left no stone unturned and even provided us with ideas that made our day absolutely perfect. I can't thank her enough and to recommend the ISM for your special day. Again, thank you to ISM and thank you to Erica for being a Core Memory of ours for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

Nestled within the stylish Alexander Hotel, Plat 99 is a chic and vibrant lounge that captures the essence of downtown Indianapolis. With its stunning skyline views and an inviting atmosphere, this trendy spot is perfect for any occasion—be it a casual coffee in the morning or artisanal cocktails in the evening. The eclectic decor features bright colors and bold patterns, creating a sophisticated yet playful vibe that encourages guests to linger longer.
Plat 99 is my go-to bar in Indy, located inside the stylish Alexander Hotel. The interior is luxurious and beautifully designed, creating an upscale yet comfortable vibe. They serve high-quality drinks, with a particularly good wine selection and well-crafted cocktails. The atmosphere is always pleasant, whether you're inside enjoying the chic setting or out on the terrace for some fresh air. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for a classy evening out without being too formal.

Love the decor here. The cocktail menu was very limited. I didn’t really like my first drink but that was my fault not the bartenders. As for my second drink it was super delicious I asked for something sweet and that’s exactly what I received. I went on a day they were having a private event so the DJ was playing all old school hip hop music and I loved every minute of it. Half the bar you can tell was the private party but the other half were people who wandered in (like myself).

Worst place ever! Go somewhere else! For breakfast we seen a lady have to wait 30 min just for toast and when the cook brought out toast for her she brought it with her hands! The lady clearly told her do you really have the audacity to bring my toast with your hand? Makes you question the quality of the food but we gave it a try. The food was horrible and food tasted like food warmed up in a microwave. The bar at night has a good vibe however the bartenders definitely need more training, there drinks suck. I thought maybe the first drink was a miss so I gave them a try again YUCK! This place is horrible! I would not recommend this place at all. Go somewhere else to eat and have drinks!! It’s shame for the hotel to be 4 stars but the bar and restaurant makes it worse!!!

Daniel might be one of the best bartenders in the city. We had great conversation and even better drinks while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive. He made some of the signature cocktails from the menu at first and then asked what we enjoyed the most. He then made some off-script custom cocktails. We had an absolutely fantastic experience. I wish I had taken pictures of the drinks we tried, but we were having too much fun in the moment. I highly recommend visiting this establishment.

Great cocktails! Staff is friendly and the ambience is good. They have a bar area and a seated (table) area. You can chose where you want to spend the your time. It is not a good place if you are looking for a sumptuous meal. Plat 99 only offers a wide variety of appetiser that go well with the drinks. We had a liquid nitrogen cocktail that was so interesting visually.

I've always wanted to check out this place and was slightly disappointed. For a Saturday night it was quite dead, not a big deal because I'm not a fan of loud places. Found a spot at the bar, and the bartender was nice and quick. I will say the place could use a deep clean. It didn't smell pleasant and kept getting a whiff of something rotten. Also, many of the light bulbs were out and dusty.

The Indianapolis Cultural Trail is a fantastic way to explore the heart of downtown Indianapolis, whether you're cycling or enjoying a leisurely stroll. This eight-mile paved path weaves through six vibrant neighborhoods, including Mass Ave and Fountain Square, showcasing the city's rich tapestry of art galleries, parks, monuments, museums, and gardens. Officially known as the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick, this trail connects three unique public spaces and serves as an urban oasis that links various cultural attractions.
If you're seeking an inspiring and unique way to experience Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Cultural Trail is your answer! This trail is a testament to the city's unique character, offering a glimpse into its hidden gems, from serene parks and vibrant playgrounds to eclectic restaurants and cozy coffee shops. The trail offers a sense of empowerment, allowing you to choose the mode of transportation that suits you best. Whether you decide to conquer the entire 8-mile-long trail or opt for a shorter, more leisurely stroll, like my mom and I did, the choice is yours. We explored the downtown part of the trail, close to the federal building, all the way down to the river trail. It was a short distance, but it was a journey filled with memorable experiences. One of the things I loved about the trail was how many interesting sculptures and pieces of art we saw along the way. Each one had a description and information about the artist, which added to the experience. We also stumbled upon some fantastic restaurants and coffee shops that we probably wouldn't have found otherwise. Overall, if you're visiting Indianapolis and looking for a fun and unique way to explore the city, I recommend checking out the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. It's a gem that's worth discovering!

Easy way to see the city as a tourist, just follow this paved road by foot or by bike. We did the entire trail (loop + bottleworks district) of 13km by foot, it was a good workout. 2 things to note: 1. You sometimes go around attractions and monuments so good idea to sometimes deviate from the trail otherwise you miss some monuments. For example we deviated to follow the canal at some point which was nicer. 2. Buy some drinks/water beforehand, very little amount of shops on the loop before you get to Bottleworks. Otherwise great idea, more cities should do this!

Nestled just a short walk from the iconic Monument Circle, the Indianapolis Public Library - Central Library is a stunning architectural marvel that beautifully blends history and modernity. Opened in 1917 and designed by renowned architect Paul Philippe Cret, this Beaux-Arts-style building features striking Greek Doric elements, complete with grand staircases and intricate details that radiate elegance. The library's sleek glass atrium and interactive children's area make it an inviting space for all ages.
How is a super fun time bringing the family to the library! Indianapolis Central library location is six stories of pure curiosity and answers! This February is Black History month and there are local artists featured and highlighted throughout each floor of the library. It is so awesome to see the Chinese New Year lunar New Year celebration today. The auditorium was full of curiosity seekers and cultural experiences! I'm so glad we dropped in on such a meaningful day! We were able to stop and read some books, go live on TikTok, and explore all six floors. The only hard part was staying quiet. These girls loved every minute of it! We will come back as often as possible whenever we're bored this is a place to be! Bring your family and get a book and learn something new! Never a dull moment here at the central library

We were visiting from out of town, so we weren't there to check out books. We just wanted to see the place, which is really two places, the old library and the new one, joined by an utterly gorgeous atrium. I liked how the new library continued the tradition of the old, displaying the names of great authors. We all enjoyed exploring the foreign foreign language collections in the upstairs hall of the old library. And I recommend that locals check out the Special Collection. It's always full to discover the hidden treasures a library holds.

Wow- this is where our tax money goes. Beautiful building. 6 floors with spaces to work, meet, study, or just relax. They organize events like chess club, language exchange, kids reading programs and more. There's a Black literature section, a garden, free ebooks with library card and so much more. Lots of homeless and druggies linger around which is the only bad part. All else is good though. Very clean and aesthetically pleasing.

The Indianapolis Public Library exceeded my expectations in every way. The comfort of the space, combined with the well-regulated temperature, made it a joy to spend time there. The library's diverse range of services, from books to printers to DVDs, catered to a wide array of needs. I was particularly impressed by the quiet floors, which allowed for peaceful and focused study or reading sessions. The employees were not only respectful but also incredibly helpful, providing assistance whenever needed. To top it all off, the library boasted a beautiful view, adding a touch of serenity to the overall experience.

How could anyone not give this place a 5 star review is beyond me. I would have felt cheated had I not explored downtown Indianapolis and not have made this a stop. From the impressive architecture and history of the old part of the library, to the new modern contemporary of the new library, this place is nothing short of amazing. We took the time to explore all the floors and they have an abundance of information at your fingertips. Go in, enjoy, explore, and learn.

The Wayne Library branch has recently ushered in discriminatory policies which prohibit patrons from being on library property after hours even though I am not aware of any acts of criminality on this property in the few months I have been coming here. I do not know if IMCPL as a whole has started doing this with all of their branches. Seems odd considering the library has cameras on the outside of the building so they can see what is going on from a security standpoint. And of course people are still parking in the parking lot after hours with no one policing it. It definitely seems targeted at people who are of a certain socio economic status and I think it is happening because they might expect certain individuals to not adhere to said policy and that way library staff can have them trespassed or possibly even arrested. This is is what I am gleaning from the recent policy shift. They don't have these ridiculous policies at the libraries in Hendricks County and the police presence there is much more robust. It's even stranger when you consider the fact that this branch closes at 6 pm Wed-Fri and the staff members are literally telling people to get off the property at that time. Completely bizarre and it definitely feels very discriminatory.

The Indianapolis Art Center is a renowned riverfront arts center located on a 9.5-acre campus in the Broad Ripple neighborhood. It has been showcasing modern and contemporary art for over a century, offering free exhibitions, classes, workshops, and events. The center features stunning exhibits with a focus on photography and sculptures, as well as an outdoor sculpture garden and a peaceful cafe where visitors can enjoy alfresco dining while admiring the artwork.
Art and nature interspersed to create a charming place to enjoy the outdoors. Kids can roam around with plenty to entertain them. There are places to look over the river. When we went there was a fun community art project inside where you create an ornament to add to a tree on the wall using recycled items. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely go back.

Today’s August 2 it’s a nice summer day, and we came to walk through the sculpture garden. They’re limited sculptures. The landscaping is poorly maintained. The walkways have inconsistent gravel. And there is zero art installation inside. Today is a Saturday. Experience not worth going. Attendant at the front was very nice and helpful and said that at the end of the month, the art exhibit will actually have art

For years I had dreamed of having my wedding reception at the Indianapolis Art Center, and working with Mason and her team was a dream come true. My husband and I toured the facility 15 months before our big day and highly recommend approximately that time frame for a place as popular as this. The IAC referred us to our caterer, and set up our reception seating with tables and linens. Additionally, they took care of tear down after we made our exit. Our guests enjoyed cocktail hour under the portico while we headed to the river for our family pictures. The pergola and Ivy wall were a gorgeous backdrop for our sweet heart table and most breath taking of all were all the hanging string lights. I could not imagine a better setting for an outdoor wedding. Beyond that, we booked the library as a place inside to escape just the two of us for our last dance. Magic.

Nice facility. Great especially if you're interested in creating art. Workshops for just about every medium. Very nice grounds to stroll as well. Enjoyed our visit.
Don C — Google review
Such a great spot! We walked the trails and saw the sculptures. We headed inside to warm up at the little coffee shop. The library was cozy and clean with even some sweet little kid art books. The inside galleries were super cool and the workshops looked fascinating!
Jaime C — Google review
The outside area is pretty with some interesting sculptures, and nicely shaded by green tunnels. The nearby river is calming, with some decent views via the wooden walking platforms. You can also stroll right down to the water if you don’t mind getting a little dirty. The art on display when I visited today is a little too leftwing for my tastes, but hey, that’s art. I wouldn’t bring children through it. I’m not in town long enough to take any classes, but it seems really cool. There is a nice little library down one of the halls. The art center looks nice and pretty well maintained, and the few staff members I ran into seemed polite and helpful.

Easy to find. Easy to park. Lots to see inside. Friendly staff. The exhibits and the river were awesome. My main goal was seeing "the crooked house in the woods". My kid is disabled and while there was ramps to walk, the transition from sidewalk to path was rough. The platform to the river was not accessable via wheelchair but amblitory ppl can access it easily.

Pivot Bar and Balcony, located at Hyatt Place Indianapolis Downtown, is a popular rooftop bar with a sleek design and an impressive drink menu. It has become a favorite spot for locals and tourists alike, offering signature cocktails like the Pivot Paloma and The Southern Gentleman. The 3,000-square-foot balcony features fire pits, comfortable seating, big-screen TVs, and an excellent wine selection.
A great rooftop bar located in the Hyatt House in downtown Indianapolis. The staff was very welcoming & friendly. I tried the grilled chicken caesar salad and the ingredients were fresh. Great view of the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Daniel S — Google review
After two years of frequent stays at the Hyatt House Downtown Indy, I’ll admit the menu at Pivot Bar + Balcony has started to feel… let’s say familiar. But there’s one reason—two nights a week—that I always look forward to dinner here: Angel. And let me be clear: that’s not just her name, it’s her culinary identity. Angel is, hands down, the heart and soul of the kitchen on Wednesday and Thursday nights. She doesn’t just make food—she crafts experiences. She’ll ask what flavors I’m into, what I’m craving, and then—like some kind of kitchen wizard—she creates something custom, delicious, and totally within the limits of their in-house ingredients. It’s like a choose-your-own-adventure meal… but every path leads to “WOW.” Beyond her talent, Angel has that rare kind of warmth that makes you feel like a guest in her home rather than a hotel bar. She regularly steps out of the kitchen to check in, always with a bright smile and genuine care for how you’re enjoying your meal. So if you’re staying at the Hyatt House and find yourself hungry on a Wednesday or Thursday, do yourself a favor—ask for Angel. Your taste buds will thank you. Probably your soul, too.

The service provided by Jacob was both amazing and admirable. The receipt reads, “Jacob.” However, I saw a bracelet that reads, “Jake.” The calm under pressure displayed by Jake maintained a positive atmosphere. The restaurant experienced increased foot traffic due to The Queens Concert June 1, 2025. Then the computer system shut down. In the midst of it all Jake went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was electric. It was the Sunday following the Saturday that the Indiana Pacers won the Eastern Conference Championship. If you are in the downtown Indianapolis, Indiana area this restaurant is a great choice! It is where great food and great people meet to maintain a great atmosphere.

If you're looking for a laid-back yet elevated experience in the heart of the city, this rooftop bar inside the Hyatt is a must-visit. Offering a solid selection of cocktails, wine, and beer, along with a menu of light fare, it's the perfect place to unwind or kick off your evening. The prices are surprisingly fair for a rooftop venue, and the friendly, attentive service adds to the welcoming atmosphere. What truly sets this spot apart is the view—absolutely unbeatable. Overlooking Gainbridge Fieldhouse, it’s an ideal vantage point whether you’re in town for a game, a concert, or just soaking in the city vibes. It’s also a prime location for people-watching, with a clear view of the bustling streets below. Whether you're a local looking for a new favorite hangout or a visitor wanting to take in the sights with a drink in hand, this rooftop bar delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended!

Nice place, beautiful outdoor roof-top-like patio. Terrific bar tender! Food was great . Tried the nacho and Caesar salad topped with a delicious piece of tasty salmon. The only reason I didn’t give the food 5 stars is because the salad was described as “grilled Romain” on the menu…hopefully I didn’t read it wrong. In any event, the salad was good. Cocktails great!

Its a rooftop in indy. So not many to choose from, however there are a few things I'd consider. Seems like the kitchen is used to more of hotel service not so much a restaurant kitchen. Had an experience where i was waiting a lot longer than I predicted.. 1.5hr experience. Drinks are solid, cocktails are a little on the sweet side but again... It's outsiiiiddeeee. Servers aren't terrible, their kind but the service is not fast. Overall just an experience i was hype about and it started to fall down hill. I think if you just want a pretty spot. Here is the place. But if you want good food (across the board) and more of a restaurant experience. Then not really the spot. Beautiful though.

Took along trip to clear my head from Chicago to Indianapolis, and had a Chronic Migraine that I felt was something serious, so I checked myself into the ER around 3am and when the nurse asked why I was there I let her know and she ended up fronting me off telling her co-workers right outside my room laughing about my situation and very unprofessional. not a single person there at night was professional except for the ladies at the front desk you first check in with to be seen. It's sad to see how terrible the healthcare system is when its in your profession to help people no matter the issue, lacking empathy or disclosing my information to colleagues for your own humor is beyond shameful to the line of work you are in.

Went here at the end of May because my husband was having a heart attack. Walked in saying his chest hurt and he just had a stroke last month. They took his oxygen and his heart rate and told him to get at the end of the line. Thankfully I made it to St Francis & didn't wait in line. The whole time my husband's in the passenger side seat screaming and pain. He made it through what the doctors kept calling on Widowmaker thanks to St Francis. Have to be honest - this place was terrible. Drinks order was placed. Took forever (1000 pm) 10 minutes later I asked “Josh” if I could get the Diet Coke I ordered. He responded with “I have other people in front of you. You’ll just have to wait. I can’t put you in front of everybody else.” Given the hostile atmosphere we left. Would not recommend to anyone. Spoke to Leana who was nice and offered us another treat, but given the hostility from the other service member “Josh” we declined and left for another late night establishment. Only visit if you want to play Russian Roulette with the service members (“Josh”) and risk being shouted at when your orders are delayed. Recommend Lobby Bar across the lobby. High velocity is risky. Very disappointed.

Rick’s Café Boatyard offers a beautiful dining experience with a great view and friendly, attentive staff. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for enjoying a nice meal by the water. I ordered the Beef Short Rib Grilled Cheese, which was good but could’ve used more seasoning to really bring out the flavor. On the other hand, the French fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. The service was excellent throughout my visit, and the overall vibe of the restaurant made it enjoyable. Located at the entrance to Massachusetts Ave, The Eagle Mass Ave is a lively eatery and beer hall known for serving up Southern classics like fried chicken and spoonbread. This rockabilly restaurant uses cage-free, free-range chickens brined and coated with special seasoning, served with their signature hot honey. I’ve seen one of these restaurants in Pittsburgh and wanted to try it, but never got the chance. So, when in this area and seeing they had one and the reviews were really good, I went in. I sat at the bar during lunch and they weren’t busy at all. They feature a menu which centers around their fried chicken, they have related sides, and sandwiches too. I opted for a ¼ chicken dark meat, which actually comes with 2 legs and a thigh for $10, which I thought was a great deal for a “restaurant” style fried chicken. I also ordered a side of cole slaw with it. The fried chicken was excellent! The meat was very moist and flavorful and I loved the breading too, which was very light. It comes with their hot honey, which actually had a nice little kick to it and was a nice compliment to the chicken. Their cole slaw was excellent! Made with light mayo which seemed to be mixed with vinegar and large slices of cabbage – nicely seasoned, it was great! Service provided was excellent too! Highly recommend stopping in!!

Great vibe, Good Food, Minor Letdown We celebrated my birthday at The Eagle tonight, drawn in by its reputation for having the best fried chicken in Indy — especially the dinner with five chicken legs, my all-time favorite since childhood. The atmosphere was exactly what I hoped for: casual, laid back, and relaxed. We sat at a picnic table outside, where blues music played just loud enough to mask the sound of rush hour traffic. It set a perfect tone. Our server, Luke, was excellent — helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. We started with the hush puppies, which were hot, crisp, and very tasty. For our entrees, I ordered the 5-leg chicken dinner, and my husband went with the half chicken. We shared the mac & cheese as a side, which was rich and creamy — definitely a win. Shortly after placing our order, Luke returned to let us know they were running low on legs due to an extra busy Indy 500 weekend. Unfortunately, they couldn’t fulfill my 5-leg order, but they offered a 1/4 chicken dinner instead (which came with 2 legs and a thigh). Understandable, but still a bit of a letdown — especially from a restaurant known for chicken. Luke handled it professionally, and I appreciated the explanation. Cocktails were a highlight: my husband is a Maker’s Mark & Coke guy, and he was impressed with the strength and pour. I had the spiked lemonade, and it was refreshing and well-balanced. Overall: ✔ Great vibe and atmosphere ✔ Excellent service ✔ Delicious sides and drinks ✘ Slight disappointment with limited chicken availability — on my birthday, no less! We’d definitely go back.

I came to Indy for a work trip and met up with a local friend for dinner here on his recommendation. We were seated quickly outside, the server was friendly and helpful. The grilled cheese with fried chicken … let me tell you - was SUPERB. The Mac n cheese was great, and the sweet potatoes… mmmm. I’m drooling just thinking about this dinner. If I’m in Indy again, this will be a must-go. Fantastic. 10/10 would recommend.

This was an uneventful lunch that left me wishing I’d gone to Chick-fil-A instead. The chicken was decent, but beyond that nothing stood out. It started with my waiter; I felt like I’d have to buy a smile from him. Maybe it was just me, but the wilted salad from too much vinaigrette definitely wasn’t. The mashed potatoes and gravy looked better than they tasted bland and forgettable. And the biscuits? Cold, with a glob of butter just sitting on top. Collectively, the meal fell flat.

My wife and I had been hearing about this place from friends for quite a while so we finally got the opportunity to try them out. Our server was pretty good and made some suggestions to save us some money based on our individual orders. We tried as many things on the menu as we wanted to try. The chicken was very well seasoned and good, the shrimp and grits was excellent, we got cornbread individually cause we BOTH love cornbread and it didn't disappoint. The greens, Mac 'n cheese were fine. Overall a great experience AND the hot honey, wooo hoooo be ready! Check em out if you haven't and go back if it's been awhile

What an awesome place! Our server, Logan, was fantastic—genuinely kind and attentive. He truly turned our experience around and saved the day. We were honestly on the verge of leaving due to a rocky start, but thanks to him, we ended up having a wonderful meal. The food was outstanding. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned, and the hot honey was a standout—sweet, spicy, and absolutely delicious. The mac and cheese was rich and flavorful, and dipping the biscuits into the cheese sauce! WOW! Pure comfort food bliss. The Bourbon Punch cocktail was also a hit—refreshing, well-balanced, and generously sized. Just to give some context: we arrived at The Eagle around 3 PM on a hot and sunny day with our 1.5-month-old granddaughter and a party of six. We asked the host to seat us at a specific outdoor table that was shaded, but the initial interaction wasn’t ideal and made us feel unwelcome. Thankfully, our server completely changed the tone of our visit, and we’re so glad we stayed.

The chicken was phenomenal. The place itself has an enjoyable atmosphere, although the service could use a little personality. Bartender was on her phone when I walked in, no greeting. It wasn’t until I sat at the bar that she acknowledged me. I even let her know I was there to give a review! I’d still go back for the chicken though!!

Holliday Park is a sprawling 94-acre city park in Indiana, offering a blend of history and natural beauty. Visitors can explore the park's arboretum, playground, and nature center which hosts programs for all ages. The park features picturesque woodland paths along the White River, making it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls and wildlife observation. With over 400 species of trees and flowers, as well as native animals like deer and foxes, the park provides a rich natural experience.
A beautiful place with ruins and little gardens throughout. There are some nice trails some of which lead to the river. Seems like a great place to take your dog, too. They have yoga and meditations here during the summer and I believe concerts as well.

This park feels like a hidden gem. The grounds are so thoughtfully cared for, every corner inviting you to slow down and breathe. The ruins stand beautifully against the landscape—quiet, timeless, and full of character. Though I didn’t walk the trail this time, it calls me back for another visit. The peaceful atmosphere, paired with the joy of being able to bring my dog along, made the experience even more special. Truly an amazing place to escape and just be.

My favorite park! Love how it was thoughtfully designed throughout the years. Absolutely beautiful mature trees and stunning ruins great for photoshoots. Picnic areas, trails, river, there is always something going on all year long 🙂 Can’t wait for the playground to open on November 2nd.

Absolutely a peaceful and beautiful place to sit and read or go for a walk. Fountain is gorgeous as well are the ruins with a water feature as well.

Very enjoyable experiences here. Nice wooded trails to get away from hectic day to day and just relax. The ruins are an unexpected but welcome addition to a well kept park.

One of my favorite Indianapolis parks! He brings me here because he knows it is one of my happy places! The scenery is beautiful!

So beautiful! Some mucky terrain in the trails going nearer the water so wear shoes that can get mucky! Really nice observation spots sprinkled all around! The Rock Garden closest to the Nature Center and The Ruins is so enchanting! Great spots to sit and rest all over! The playground area was bustling with kids on a Saturday afternoon! If your looking for a more quiet serene nature experience, I recommend early mornings and/or weekdays! Update........ Had such a great day recently at Holiday park. Did much more exploring while also creating a meaningful hiking experience and work out! We love the paths closest to the water. The deer tracks, racoon tracks and all the clam and snail shells really transport you!

Rhythm! Discovery Center is a unique destination that offers visitors the chance to delve into the rich history of percussion. As the world's only interactive drum and percussion museum, it provides an immersive experience through exhibits, archives, and hands-on opportunities to play various percussion instruments. The center showcases a diverse range of artifacts from different cultures, allowing guests to explore the cultural and historical significance of percussion in shaping music.
Kids of all ages 2-102+ should love this place. All kinds of different drums to bang on with some nice samples of of display sets. Cowbell? Yes, they have that as well. They have a couple rooms with a drum set that you should definitely check out. You can change the acoustics of the room to get a different sound. Unless you are sensitive to loud sounds, check it out. Well worth the Admission and more. Don't miss the Lego drum set and the set made during WWII when raw materials were rationed.

This place was super cool! I highly recommend going early because the kids and I went when it first opened and we had the place to ourselves. There’s a ton of gongs, bells, shakers, and various other instruments for the kids to try out. Tons! There’s also a few areas which are roped off but the employees explain to you that the museum is interactive except for the roped off areas. There’s interactive screens which tell you about the instruments and two awesome studio spaces you can drum on and change the venue with buttons. Love, love, loved it here and highly recommend it.
Brianna D — Google review
Get ready for some noise. They have earbuds for free and earmuffs for little people. My kids had a blast. We definitely went through the whole Museum quickly though. It would be great if they offered headache medicine for the parents lol. Bathrooms were clean and they have water fountain. Drinks aren't allowed which is understandable but with little people extremely hard. Not much staff walking around. Had to go look for someone a couple times.
Yvette K — Google review
Overall pretty interesting place if you like drums, gives you an overall look into the ancient history of percussion and some recent history too. Be prepared to spend about an hour if you're not going to read all of the wall information and about 2 hours if you're going to interact and read and watch absolutely everything there. Big takeaway for me is the 2 soundproof chambers that have drums in them. Super fun but the drawback is that the seats and setup in general is pretty bad for posture. Otherwise cool room!
Timmy L — Google review
Visited Indy so many times and didn't realize this place existed. I started drumming a couple of years ago, but whether a beginner, expert or someone who never played before in their life, this place is a great way to spend an hour or two. Pretty much anything you can hit to make a sound (including giant cymbals, wood blocks and more) as well as classic drum kits (and even one made out of Lego) are here. And much of it you can have a.go on!
Neil F — Google review
I was very fascinated by the different drums and xylophones.. It's a very large circle with instruments you can play and some just for show. It was an easy self guided tour. I would love to come back the next time I am in Indy.
Myrtle M — Google review
It was raining on a Saturday morning, so I decided to take my 4 yr old son to Rhythm! I couldn't have made a better choice. This little enclave of drum heaven is truly a gem. Amidst the hustle & bustle of the mall area, this place is located in the same building as Panera, but has its own unique walkway to reach the center. First and foremost, the staff was courteous from the moment we walked in. The center is designed in a way that leads you around a circle in order to explore the various drum-related activities. Due to this factor, you never feel cramped even though the center is not that large in size. There are more drums located within those walls than I had ever seen in my life, and my son had an amazing time playing the different instruments. Rhythym! provides kids with a safe and creative space to enjoy music.

Nestled within the picturesque Newfields in Indianapolis, Oldfields–Lilly House & Gardens is a captivating historic estate that transports visitors back to the early 20th century. This magnificent French chateau-style mansion, once owned by a prominent businessman, showcases exquisite antique furnishings and classic artwork that reflect its rich heritage. As you explore this National Historic Landmark through guided tours, you'll gain insight into life over a century ago while admiring the beautifully restored interiors and charming Victorian decor.
Orchids and other verdant denizens populate this delightful greenhouse. It's not spacious, but if you enjoy plants and colorful life in any capacity (since you're visiting Newfields, I assume you are), it's 100% worth the detour. Unlike some public gardens, it doesn't seek to achieve lusciousness and color by being overly ordered and sanitized - instead, there is an air of walk-ability that really does provide a "lived-in" sense, and it is all the more welcoming for it. I wonder what the estate grounds look like at night - does it flip towards an eerie Hounds of Baskerville? Or is it even more romantic than it is during the day? Either way, a stroll through it feels like a storybook. By comparison, the inside of the house was much more of a historical site - excellent primary experience of an era gone by in this country. Still very much worth seeing, with an audio tour and a much needed, air conditioned reprieve if you're visiting during the summer months.

Beautiful gardens. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the grounds and ended with a giant pretzel and 2 glasses of cider! Perfect day spent with my wife!

The property and greenhouse of this estate are beautiful. I recommend making sure you have time to see the greenhouse because it is jam packed with plants and tons of orchids. I have never seen this many orchids in my life. I believe the greenhouse itself is from the 1930s, so also cool just to see the building itself.

* The Lily House (Mansion) is gorgeous in its lighting and antique furnishings. * The Madeline F. Elder Greenhouse is charming, if crowded. * The Wood Formal Garden has a Victorian/neoclassical feel. Entry requires the same day's ticket as for the Newfields Museum. Nothing vaguely resembling a weapon is permissable.

Beautiful place and garden. The beer garden was very nice! We had a pretzel and a couple drinks. One downside was that they were sold out on a Sunday afternoon and had a fairly long wait time when all we wanted was to walk in garden which was not all that busy at all.

First and foremost, I highly recommend visiting the Lilly house during their holiday festivities. I have included photos from the Halloween events but the house is also used for Christmas activities. It’s clever, interesting, and well-worth the money. I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Lilly House and Gardens at Newfields, and it was truly an enchanting experience. The meticulously maintained gardens were a breathtaking sight, with an array of vibrant flowers and lush greenery that created a serene and picturesque atmosphere. Walking through the garden pathways felt like stepping into a tranquil oasis away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Lilly House itself is a stunning historic gem, exuding elegance and charm. The carefully preserved interiors provide a glimpse into the past, showcasing the rich history and cultural heritage of the region. The knowledgeable staff added to the experience, offering insightful information about the house and its former residents, creating a deeper connection to the space. What truly stood out to me was the seamless blend of art, nature, and history that the Lilly House and Gardens offer. It's a perfect destination for art enthusiasts, history buffs, and nature lovers alike. Whether you're exploring the beautifully curated art collections within the house or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll through the gardens, the Lilly House and Gardens at Newfields is a must-visit destination that leaves a lasting impression of beauty and tranquility.

This restaurant is probably the highest place in Indianapolis. You have the best view all around the city you could see the capital building and many other great things. The restroom has nice modern design. You could sit right next to a window and overlook the city from the 36 floor. The service was quick and polite. The food was well prepared and delicious. Definitely a place I would recommend to visit.

Beautiful place, beautiful view, and amazing food! -view is amazing anytime of day. - old fashions are made perfectly by the bar tender Lobster bisque is probably the best in the city. Large lobster and the brisket has a perfect non heavy texture. Now that's a piece of salmon cooked to perfection (not the sliver you get most places) Now the wedge salad (didn't do wedge) was very tasty as well. The bread mixture is great as well. Definitely one of the best places in Indy.

Loved this restaurant. I attended an event a few years back during the day and had always wondered what would the view be like at night. So I went back one night to enjoy a nice diner with my date. Needless to say: the overall experience was great. The place was not crowded since we went there on a Friday night. The servers were nice & very welcoming. Thanks to the Christmas decoration, the atmosphere & the vibe were top tier: Sure took a long of pictures 🤭 There was even a lady who played some contemporary music on the piano. The foods were delicious : we went for a 3 course meals menu and got to taste their delicious steak & chicken, accompanied by a soup. Then we finished with desserts. The cocktails were also good: had a maragarita. Can never go wrong with it. Coming back to the famous view: that night was a rainy one and a bit cloudy. So the view was not as good as we expected. But it was good enough to admire the downtown Indy view. Overall, I’d recommend this restaurant & cannot wait to come back.

Went for Devour winterfest and overall had quite a fantastic meal. Despite the very slow service in general and being seated in a small conference room of sorts [not exactly the showy experience i hoped for when 2 guests we brought had never seen the place before] , it was a really terrific time! Our waitress was stellar and really made up for the oversights and delays with her wonderful personal style and hospitality. Always an experience coming to this place... would recommend again, but preferably when less busy. Views are killer... it's a unique place for sure.

For literature enthusiasts, the Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library is a hidden gem nestled near the Canal Walk in Indianapolis. This captivating museum pays homage to one of America's most celebrated satirical writers, known for iconic works like 'Slaughterhouse-Five' and 'Cat's Cradle.'
Stopped in for a quick visit today to avoid the rain and would have loved to curl up there with a book. There’s lots of spots to sit and read & write, a cocktail bar, a gift shop, and of course the history of Vonnegut’s life and works. The displays are modern and interesting. There’s a small parking lot, clean restrooms, and an elevator.

Loved them museum. Such a nice tribute to one of our country’s best authors. The gift shop had a lot of his books some of which you don’t see as often. They also have a coffee shop and a great balcony to sit and enjoy a nice day. I would stop back again.
Josh H — Google review
This is a great museum. It has many artifacts from Kurt Vonnegut's life and work. But that's not all. There is a focus on the things that mattered to him: freedom of expression, local jazz and being a decent human. There is a small concession area that serves snacks and drinks, including some alcohol (after noon for that) as well as a beautiful balcony with views of downtown. Patrons can even rent books. Each time I go I am delighted by something I didn't notice the time before. They offer multiple educational activities and are activists in the fight against censorship. It is also part of N.A.R.M. (North American reciprocal Museum) program. What else could you ask for? Yes there is a small gift shop too.

This was #1 on my attractions in Indy list & I'm so glad i made it! We made it in for Free Visit Mondays (first Monday of each month) ! What a great exhibit with passionate staff. My mom and I spent a good maybe two hours exploring the 3 levels. I think my favorite memorabilia was his actual type writer that you are allowed to try out. A lot of great art as well. They also have a little bar with coffee and alcohol. I will say though, yall are severely missing an opportunity by not having any merch with "So it goes" on it, and or "everything was beautiful and nothing hurt." Those are my favorite quotes and i was a lil sad there wasnt more of that incorporated. Would've loved a little gravestone tee or sticker with one of those slogans. I did however purchase 3 books and another sticker :) happy to have been able to experience this and it's very appreciated to see the activism and education that this establishment brings. Thank yall so much! Hope it stays open forever!

The perfect stop for any true Vonnegut fan. The slaughterhouse five exhibit on the third floor is worth the visit alone. It's a miracle he survived. God must have had a plan for him to write those great works....

The genius Kurt Vonnegut!! Being a big fan, I took the opportunity to check out the museum. I enjoyed it! It’s three levels of a building, so there’s a lot to see. The ticket price was fair. The staff were friendly. If you’re a fan I would definitely recommend checking it out!

What a wonderful tribute to one of the best authors that ever lived. Many times I was moved to tears in this, not just from excitement but from the stories shared within the exhibits. Each floor was exciting and new, offering different insight into KV’s life. Lots of awesome items on display, such as his personal typewriter and numerous copies of Cats Cradle in different languages. The gift shop had the best gifts for any KV fan and even some books you don’t see very often. The young woman in the gift shop was super friendly and made our visit seamless. I will absolutely be back! Loved this place!

I had the pleasure of visiting in July, and this turned out to be the highlight of my summer! I highly recommend that all Vonnegut fans go out of their way to include this stop in their travels, as it is a true gem. Their collection of artifacts is amazing, and the staff are knowledgeable and extremely kind. My personal favorite part was getting to actually sit at Kurt's desk and type on one of his typewriters. What a treat! Thank you, Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library for going above and beyond to offer a wonderful experience. You're doing important work :)

The Labor & Delivery & Postpartum unit team at Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital is exceptional. They provide excellent care, demonstrating compassion and efficiency during labor. Many choose this hospital as their preferred option due to its reputation for quality healthcare services. However, there may be some individuals who are uncertain about their healthcare decisions or lack knowledge in this area of life.
My first visit here was when I had a car accident on the interstate. I can’t remember that trip very well as I was critical. But my family said they were good. I’ve been there since then a few times. I’ve had several issues over the years and they have always seemed to be understanding and kind. They always thoroughly check me and listen to what I have to say. The wait time varies but we usually get in and out in a decent amount of time. Staff was nice and attentive . I can’t say anything bad about this place.

As a person that brought someone from out of town for emergency surgery we sat in the ER over 16 hours to be told to come back the next day at 6 a.m. for surgery. Some staff was rude, and short. As a major city, you would think they could afford a bit more comfort for the patients as well as the families that are accompanying their loved one. I hope to never have to experience this hospital again.
C W — Google review
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I visited this ER by mistake due to it getting dark, the misleading Riley signage near the parking lot entrance, and my overall rush to have my infant daughter seen. I start getting checked in referring to the hospital as Riley the entire time and wasn't corrected once. They get my back in a room and the Dr comes back to tell me that this isn't the Riley ER and that I had went to the wrong ER and that Riley is just down the way. He said this happens often and that I could call billing during business hrs to dispute the room charge and sent me to Riley. The next day I call billing only to find out they charged me for the room and an IV!?!? My daughter wasn't even examined let alone given an IV or treated in any way. I was told they would need to send it to upper management for them to evaluate, and I would get a call back in 4 days. Here we are a week out, and I haven't received a phone call but a 600 dollar bill for services she never received. My daughter is battling severe kidney problems that are being treated by Riley Hospital, and I am already drowning in hospital bills. It is disgusting to me that this hospital is trying to take advantage of this mix-up during distress when they didn't even do so much as look at my daughter.

3a.m check in , lady cleaning emergency waiting room couldn't say excuse me while sweeping instead she just sweeps the tops of peoples feet. The front staff are very rude then sit and talk about patients that are in the waiting area waiting. I literally sat and listend to another patients entire medical history from one check in person too watching two other nurses sit and talk bad about the women that who by the way has a mental disability. They was very rude to another women about her not having a phone to do proper check in since when is it a requirement to have a phone to be seen by a hospital especially in an emergency. This has been one of the absolute worst visits I've ever had to a hospital.

I was admitted to observation on 9/10 approx.10 pm I stayed was treated ok and they took tests today they couldn't answer any questions and said they had recieved no results as of that time well I was restless I'm a smoker and hadn't had a cigarette in over 20 hours I was walking back and forth in the hall 2 times pass the desk returned to my room in a couple of minutes passed heard the nurses talking about me and laughing because I wanted a cigarette so I left removed IVs and heart monitors how are you supposed to stay and be cared for by people that are making fun of you and laughing. They were very unprofessional especially in today's world where people's mental health is so important I should have stayed because my problem is pretty serious but how can you trust them to care for you when they so blatantly just showed they don't care Sherri Scruggs

I really hate that I’m doing this right now but the emergency room at Eskenazi hospital has the worst night shift ever! Just lazy!!! I have never came here and been so mistreated in my life and the craziest thing is I really use to love coming here on the count of I work for Community North Hospital!!! Their timing is so inconsiderate of others, instead of working they sit around eating and talking about non related work problems which is very unprofessional!! I really wish someone would reach out so I can speak more!! Very unacceptable please do better people are counting on you guys

Absolutely horrible experience! I would have never guessed that people could be disregarded and treated so badly in our states. I am a long haul trucker that travels all 48 states....and Friday about noonish i came down with a tremendous amount of pain along my diaphragm/ lower rib area. Im 56 yrs old, and have bore 5 kids that this pain topped the chart! I was vomiting and in tears when one of my sons called for an ambulance to help me. The ambulance responded within 10 minutes! Awesome work first responders!!! They brought me to this hospital I was asked for my I D, and was put in a wheelchair and moved to a distant waiting room probably about 1 p.m? I squirmed out of the wheelchair, onto the cold concrete floor to try and find some relief from the intense pain. Hours went by....one attendant came to me and told me I must get up off the floor...I told her I CANT! At one point I tried to leave...I was in so much pain I would have rather crawled out in traffic to end my misery. She told me I'd be taken to a room soon...I kept waiting....About 9 pm they finally took me for an x-ray, and ultrasound. By this time I've heaved all the bile I could from my stomach, and peed my jeans. At last they put an IV in me and gave me some pain relief!!!! Told me I have gallbladder stones. They decided that I showed no infection....and discharged me. Just after midnight, I took an Uber back to my hotel room very sore and extremely upset. If I had ruptured anything during those hours of waiting to be even considered human, I wouldn't have been so lucky. I saw quite a few people in that waiting room that needed help....as I listened to the staffs weekend plans, and who is planning what in their personal lives...while people needed help and just a little compassion. I was a CNA in Michigan for years....I know emergency rooms can be over stressed...I get that...but for example....an oral pain reliever, and a hot compress would have helped me wait...people shouldn't have to suffer hours for triage. Find some solutions! Im sure they'll be quick to bill me! Im sure that is already headed for my home address! 🫤

Originally constructed in the 1800s as part of the Indiana Central Canal project, it has been revitalized into a vibrant urban space featuring pedestrian paths, cultural landmarks, and recreational activities. The canal offers opportunities for paddle boating and gondola rides, providing unique ways to explore the area. Additionally, the nearby Colts Canal Playspace offers a playground for children, making it a family-friendly destination. The Canal Walk is open year-round and is especially enjoyable during spring and summer months when the weather is pleasant, and the surrounding flora is in full bloom. It's easily accessible and connects with other trails like the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, offering extended exploration options.

We enjoyed the beautiful walk along the canal after we visited the Colts Playscape. The canal path was nice and wide, great for a stroller and two kids who like to go at their own pace. The ducks and swans were neat to see and they were not shy around humans. Only downside was there being no bathrooms nearby.

Definitely a nice place to take a stroll. Lots of beautiful artwork along the path. A great place to take kids as there were quite of bit of animals throughout the walk. You can easily spend a couple hours walking f you take the time to admire all the sculptures and murals.

Gorgeous area. I really enjoyed exploring the city by way of the canal walk. Lots to see and do. Museums located along canal, paddle boats, gondola rides, parks, etc.

The canal was a lot of fun! There’s plenty of space to walk, and you can rent all kinds of stuff such as multi-person bikes, paddle boats, and canoes. If you take a paddle boat, it’s about a mile one way or around 30 minutes the other. Along the way, you get some nice views of the sights around the canal.

I visited the Indianapolis Canal Walk while exploring the city on foot. It’s a calm and pleasant spot to walk, relax, and take in a different side of downtown. There’s water activity like kayaks and pedal boats, and the surroundings are clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the main fountain wasn’t running during my visit, which took away a bit of the atmosphere. Still, it was a nice walk and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. That said, the Chicago Riverwalk is more impressive overall more energy, more scale but for Indy, this is a solid spot for a scenic break in the city.

The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park, located on the grounds of Newfields in Indianapolis, offers a unique blend of contemporary art installations set within 100 acres of woodlands, meadows, and a serene lake. Unlike the ticketed museum, this park is free for all to enjoy and is open daily along the eastern side of the White River. Visitors can explore permanent and temporary site-specific art pieces by renowned artists like Kendall Buster and Los Carpinteros.
This is by far a beautiful nature park to just get away. Walking a dog around the lake, seeing the wild animals, nature in its glory - all wonderful. Every time I go I see something either new or that I missed on my previous visit. The other visitors and dogs have also always been very friendly. I do recommend that you bring some doggy poop bags as I always do, just in case they’re out like they were today. A word to the visitors - clean up after your dogs. Some people are disrespectful of the park and let their dogs do whatever without cleaning up but the park staff work hard to keep it the beautiful place that it is. Also, parents/guardians let the young ones be destructive. This is why it’s so hard to have beautiful things. Again - my hats off to the fantastic and ultra hard work that the park staff does to keep this place a beautiful attraction. I highly recommend this place - and give the Labrynth a walk through with the Indiana Grass. It’s definitely mind calming if you allow it to be. I can’t give this place enough stars.

Absolutely love it! So glad I found this gem. Perfect for walking, running, biking, picnicking, etc etc. Dogs on leashes are welcome. It's free and there is also free parking. At the time of writing, the visitor pavilion is not functional but the sign says they are working on it. Would definitely recommend.

Great park! Lots of open fields where people brought blankets and food. Lots of dogs and neat artwork. I met several good people with dogs and my own dog loved the interaction. Hard to believe this amazing park is in an urban setting, but it's here for us all to enjoy. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful place. Take your friends, your kids, and your dogs. You will be glad you went!

We had a truly lovely Sunday afternoon at the Virginia Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. I was initially worried about parking, but it turned out to be surprisingly easy with plenty of spots available. Since we had our dogs with us, we stuck to the 1.4-mile loop trail around the lake. It was perfect for them! The path itself is a mix of crushed gravel and packed dirt, winding through both open meadows and peaceful wooded areas. Along the way, we really enjoyed the beautiful plantings and the interesting artwork accompanied by helpful information placards. Just a heads-up: the path narrows considerably where it runs between the lake and the river, so be aware of your surroundings, especially if it's busy or you have pets. Overall, it was a fantastic, fun walk and a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
N F — Google review
This is such a wonderful and beautiful place to visit. The nature part of the park is worth it by itself to visit, but then you add in all the great and unique artwork and sculpture as here, and it's all free to enjoy. The trail along the lake is a great way to get some exercise and enjoy nature. There is quite a few sculptures around the park, so try finding them all.

I stood still at the 3 binoculars next to the lake mesmerized by a crane on a log for like 15 mins! I then felt inspired to write a poem. 🤣 it’s an interesting art park with cool nature too! Minutes from Newfields museum.

Ellenberger Park, located in the historic Irvington neighborhood of Indianapolis, offers a variety of activities for families to enjoy. From ice-skating and swimming to tennis and playgrounds, there's something for everyone. The park features shady wooded areas and winding paths alongside a babbling stream, providing a retreat from city life. Throughout the year, visitors can participate in entertaining programs such as swimming lessons and inline ice hockey leagues.
After dinner with another ICU Nurse, we went to Ellenberger Park, just to walk...catch up. The " energy" and " essence" of that park is magical, spiritual,.almost like stepping into another time zone/universe... sounds all hooey pooey hokey ( I know) but look... This one tree had an incredible aura all around it...in the distance another tree's leaves and branches align to project a perfect light from top side to bottom. We'll be going back, and soon. Next time we'll bring dinner there. Can't get enough of that magic! Look for yourself.

A decent place for a walk on the east side of Indy. There is play equipment for the kids, a walking trail, tennis courts, a pavilion with a grill, volleyball nets and plenty of open green space for kids and pets to run and play. I saw several people walking their dogs. There is also a swimming pool, but it was closed and drained. Part of the walking trail was closed due to construction.

We had a wonderful time at this clean park for the solar eclipse. There was plenty of room to sit and eat our snacks. Cute playground with lots of people playing outdoor activities. Bathrooms were locked but a couple porta potties were provided for use.

It's went down hill badly since when I was a kid and the most recent counter productive construction for the park itself. Nothing new , fenced off everything , can't even cross the bridge , n I understand things have to take place with change n whatever project they are working on but it's been going on for way too long and it's like someone forgot about such a lovely place locals miss n wanna see it blossoming , no pool , skating , really old play ground equipment , they definitely could use some updates , mabye a splash pad for the lil ones , a basketball court , re open the pool , host events, new grills n more n. New picnic tables. I'm trying not to be negative , but I don't think money or the right people on the board of Irvington are speaking up. I hope someone does soon .

This is a beautiful spot to sit in downtown Indianapolis, maybe have a picnic. We just went here for the 4th of July celebrations. It was the best view of the fireworks that we've ever had. There was also plenty of space. We got there after 9:00 p.m. and we're easily able to find a spot. There were food trucks with a decent selection, but the lines were really long since it was 4th of July. Usually the food trucks aren't there. I think Black expo is also held in this mall.

Great pool for younger children the deepest is 4 ft I think. Large area with 1 ft of water. Many chairs. Very few shaded spots. The life guards are very attentive. At least the day we went which wasn't very busy. Monday at 12:30pm. We just used the pool. It very reasonably priced.

Completely not happy with how our trip went here. First off they said they had no skates to fit my 7 year old. I asked how that was going to work and the not so helpful young women had no clue how to perform the acts that was needed to be in the position they were in. There was three people that got skates of the same side and then I got a pair that I had to trade in cause to right feet. Then I get a pair that needed thrown away. Then finally I got a pair I could use. It took three different tries for my son as well. Then no one watches the ice. There was three adolescent boys with one of the walker helper for the younger group. They had one sitting on top and one on each side twirling and pushing it. Hit the side then the back of us. We didn’t even stay an hour. SMH total waste of money.

PanIQ Escape Room Indy is a popular attraction in Indianapolis, drawing both locals and tourists. Visitors rave about the thrilling experience of trying to escape from rooms like The Haunted Manor and Stranded In Space. Many appreciate the immersive themes, challenging puzzles, and helpful guides who provide hints when needed. The facility's well-organized setup and free lockers also receive praise. Whether it's a first-time visit or a return trip, PanIQ Escape Room Indy promises an exciting adventure for all participants.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jake who wore a lovely smile, explained everything to us thoroughly and made sure we were totally comfortable. Upon beginning the room, we had a game master named Jace who did a great job making sure our game ran smoothly and kept our hints quick and helpful without being TOO helpful if that makes sense. The room was awesome, and “Next Gen” meaning there were no physical locks and keys, etc… instead, drawers, doors, cases and such opened automatically upon the completion of each “puzzle”. It felt very high tech and also very smooth and left no room for error, which I love! After finishing our room (with over 7 minutes to spare thanks to Jace’s helpful hints 😘), Jake came back into the room to guide us back up front, but happily snapped a photo of us in the room first. We were incredibly impressed with the entire experience and will be back to PanIQ again soon!

This is definitely the best escape room experience I have ever been to! From the aesthetics to the puzzles to the game master, everything was top notch! My daughters (11/14) and I played the Stranded in Space room and had a great experience. Our host, Stephanie, was helpful and attentive and the puzzles were interactive and fun to solve. The room had a lot of technology which fit the theme well, but it was also mixed with a lot of hands on and puzzles requiring teamwork and communication. Everything a fun escape room should have! If we are ever back in Indy, we will definitely come play the other games.

We went twice while visiting! The crime was extremely hard, however I went with a 10 year old. The second one was the horror story one and we got out and it was amazing! They both are set up so amazingly! Kudos to the game masters. Also our second time visiting Friday Aug 1 I think we have (Elisa, elyssa, Alicia) can’t reminder her pronunciation of her name but she was the best game master to date! And I’ve done plenty of rooms! You can tell she just love what she is doing, and I love that! She was also funny and just made the experience wonderful!

Our group of 9 did the “Perfect Crime” escape room and had an awesome time! The puzzles were just the right level. They were not too easy, but not too hard either. Everyone got to help out and stay involved, which made it even more fun. Our host, Jace, was great! Super friendly and helpful, and made the whole experience even better. You can tell he really enjoys what he does, and that helped set a fun tone for the room. We laughed a lot, worked together, and had a blast. If you’re looking for something fun to do with a group, we definitely recommend this room. We’re already talking about coming back for another one!

Nestled in a charming retro setting, Imbibe is a delightful destination for cocktail enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike. This inviting bar features an impressive array of craft cocktails that blend classic recipes with modern twists, alongside a selection of local beers and curated wines. The cozy ambiance, complete with wood-paneled walls and intimate seating, sets the stage for memorable evenings. Imbibe also offers delicious bar bites that are perfect for sharing or enjoying solo.
We didn't eat here. We only played pool and darts and ordered a few cocktails. It seems like this once was a very popular place but might not be as much anymore. We also attended on a Wednesday around 6:00 and stayed for a few hours, so that might have also made it seem less crowded. The pool tables, as well as the sticks, have seen some action but still played just fine. The dart boards and darts were in good shape. You must get your balls/darts from the bar downstairs to play. There is a nice view from the second floor. Prices were very fair and we did enjoy out time there.

I was visiting from Miami, FL and me and my man decided to take a stroll around fountain square and we stumbled upon this place. It was such a vibe. We played pool upstairs and it was only 5 bucks for 1 hour! It was such a vintage little spot. We decided to eat at the bar and I had the best sampler of life! I decided on the lemon pepper wings and everything was made fresh. I will be visiting Indianapolis again and this place will be our go to again.

Came here to get some drinks with some friends at about 12-1 am the upstairs bartender was drunk taking shots and flirting with a girl at the bar so I didn’t tip and then I asked if he had a lime and he says “not for you.” I then decide to get more drinks but think ‘maybe downstairs will be more professional’ I was wrong. The bartender down there walks over to our corner of the bar where we were simply standing and waiting and slams down a tablet on the table multiple times and then throws it across the bar at us. My friend reasonably upset began yelling at him and we were told “you can leave if YOU are gonna start problems.” WHAT!? Quickly another bartender realized her coworker was the issue and offered us free drinks but after all of this I will never spend my money here again and suggest others avoid it.

I go for the game night they have every 2 weeks. Very chill vibe. But lots of fun people come out to play. I was new and everyone made me feel welcomed! Drink selection is good and I enjoy the burger on the menu. Also, I am not a huge tater total fan. Usually places cook them too soft and the cook here makes them crunchy and perfect every single time! I come here to have tater tots and don't eat them any other place! Great food and the bartender Casey is the best! Funny & personable!

Driving through town stopped in to have a few beers and shoot some pool because we had heard of there game room and pool tables being a good experience. Asked for a bucket of Budweiser they don’t have carry that beer nor do they offer buckets or any drink specials which was disappointing to start. Go upstairs to there game room almost every pool table had torn felt and stains from various fluids carpet was greasy and dingy. We find a decent table to shoot pool and find that the bar had no chalk for the ques anywhere mind you it costs $10/hr for a table then per asking the bartender for chalk she has no answer to providing any I request money back and she denies so we play a miserable game of pool have our $30 bucket of beer set our pool balls to the side so nobody takes our dingy table and take a smoke break outside when I receive an emergency call for my daughter so we leave. Next day my card is charged for $75 for the hour of pool because of the pool balls we set to the side. Two days later I decide to go back and have a civil conversation upon the misunderstanding where I am then denied service because “the cost needs to be set right with the bar” for what seems to be an up and coming area this establishment appears to be drowning in the pond of businesses that are flourishing around it. I’m a frequent flyer at bars and will be sure this business receives feedback from my groups. To any future customers here I know you can do better at finding a place for entertainment

State government office
The Indiana Statehouse, a neoclassical capitol building in Indianapolis, has been the seat of the state government since 1888. It offers free guided tours on weekdays and showcases 19th Century Neoclassical architecture. The building is adorned with over two dozen sculptures of notable Hoosiers and houses the three branches of the Indiana state government. A recent $10 million renovation restored its grandeur, including a collection of over 30 artworks depicting Indiana's history and important figures.
Among the over 20 state and provincial capitol buildings we've toured, Indiana's is a definite top-tier favorite. Our guided tour was exceptional, largely due to Pat's excellent knowledge and engaging presentation of both history and government insights—a true credit to the state. The tour provided unique access to areas not open to the public. The grounds are immaculate, adorned with beautiful gardens, statues, and historical markers (though expect some construction on the north side). Inside, the building is monumental, featuring stunning architecture, sculptures, woodwork, stained glass, and skylights. If you're in Indianapolis, this is a must-visit!

We had a good time walking around the downtown and exploring the capitol. We did a self guided tour and enjoyed the architecture and artwork throughout. The senate and house chambers were no open but looking through the windows they weren’t very impressive. More modern than most Capitols but lacking any character and impressive craftsmanship.

I enjoy touring state capitol buildings when I travel. We went through security & got a self guided tour pamphlet at the tour desk. I did call up in advance to check if they have guided tours, unfortunately they did not have one when we planned. I would recommend a guided tour, as it gets you in to the house and senate chambers. I did some research before visiting the capitol so was able to relate things. A very nice capitol building with ornate interior. It is beautiful and well maintained. The interior is modeled in the Italian Renaissance style with doors made of Indiana oak and Indiana limestone used throughout the structure. The pinnacle of the building is 256 feet high, it was the second tallest building in Indiana at the time of its completion. The four-story building is designed in the shape of a cross. A large central rotunda with a glass domed ceiling connects the four wing. The interior is marked by beautifully intricate blue stained glass dome, marble floors, granite columns, an ornate balcony, and period wall and ceiling designs. It was remarkable and best viewed from the upper floor. The Indiana Capitol is one of the few where all three branches of government still meet in the Capitol! There are stairs/or elevators to all the levels and each floor is different. The first floor houses the governor's office and the offices of the administration. Enjoyed walking around the third and fourth floors taking in the architecture and viewing the various chambers through the windows since they were not open for access. We saw the statues of past presidents and other public art structures surround the building. It's worth a visit learning something about history. This was one of the beautiful state houses I have been to and also one of the state house that didn't explain much about their rich history. We wouldn't have known much about their history if I did not do research prior visiting. We couldn't get much information on the two page pamphlet they provided. Also there was no attendant in the tour desk so no information was provided about anything. Comparatively I felt they didn't care about their visitors, so three stars. The entrance was not stroller friendly. There is paid parking and metered street parking around the building.

Open to the public during regular business hours. You can come in the east side entrance, pass through a metal detector and you are free to roam the Statehouse. The governor's office is on the first floor, lieutenant governor the second floor and both the Senate and House of Representatives is on the second floor. Other important state offices are also located throughout and can be visited. There is also an information desk. It has lots of neat info about the Statehouse, history and more. I recommend visiting for info. Tours are also available. We were lucky enough to visit on a day when they were out of session so parking on the street was ample (parking meter). It also gave us the chance to visit the different offices to include the governor's. We were able to visit his office, sit in his desk chair and more. It was a pretty cool experience and I highly recommend visiting!

Whether you love Indiana history, appreciate art and architecture, or geek out on civics, the Indiana Statehouse is a place every Hoosier should visit at least once. Yes I know, you probably went once on a school field trip. But be honest, you probably weren't paying attention through most of that, so it’s worth it to go again and really experience it this time. The mature trees around the grounds are quite lovely, especially in the fall. And one of the sycamores located just south of the main entrance grew from a seed that went to the moon — THE MOON! Don’t’ believe me? Google “NASA moon trees.” Yep, totally true! The building’s architectural elements are also really remarkable, both inside and out. Corinthian columns, marble floors, carved wood doorways, glowing chandeliers. Of course, the crown jewel is the glass ceiling in the rotunda. Happening beneath this colorful masterpiece, you’ll often find public demonstrations and gatherings about key issues for the state legislature. But as long as you’re quiet and respect that this is an important workplace, you can still walk around and enjoy the building even when they’re in session. I also think the building is interesting for its significance in our state’s government process. And as you walk past the house and senate chambers, you’ll also see beautiful statues and paintings depicting many of Indiana’s key historical figures. Park
Glenns Valley Nature Park, a smaller but charming park in Indianapolis, offers wooded hiking trails, grassy picnic areas, and a sledding hill for winter fun. The park features the picturesque Glenns Valley House available for private events and wedding photography. Managed by Indy Parks since 1992, it boasts diverse habitats for birdwatching and native plant growth. Originally known as Bluff Road Estates, the park has been transformed into a serene nature area with lush landscapes and historic charm.
We enjoyed a short, easy hike that’s perfect for a casual outdoor adventure. However, it’s not stroller-friendly, so keep that in mind if you’re visiting with little ones. A fun bonus: there’s a Geocache item to find, adding an extra layer of adventure to the experience!

We were only here a short time but may go back tomorrow. Quite a few birds on a very nice trail. Only caught pictures of a few. Hopefully we can go here again.

Beautiful little park! There are way more trails than it seems from the road, and you could easily spend 30 minutes walking them, more at a leisurely pace. The trails are neat and wide dirt paths, with the occasional root and moderate hill. The fall foliage is beautiful!

Wonderful piece of nature good trails greenery and mot crowded at all it's my go to place to walk my pooch

Very nice nature park with trails to walk. A lot of birds, squirrels, and chipmunks running around. When I went there was nobody else there so it was very quiet. There is a house in the park that apparently can be rented out for events. It does border other people's property and an elementary school and they are visible from the trails in certain areas.

Lovely little place with a small trail and a historic old home that is now used for events. Safe and is very clear of litter. Nature is the vibe here! It's a location stop on the Indiana bird watching trail.

Trails are great my dog loves coming here for walks and I really enjoy it too. Peaceful and quiet, it's a great place for a relaxing trail walk/hike.

Perched atop a building in downtown Indy, Cannon Ball Lounge offers a unique rooftop experience with stunning views of the city. The modern and sophisticated space provides a cozy yet classy atmosphere for visitors to enjoy light local cuisine and innovative drinks. Guests can celebrate Indianapolis icons with specialty cocktails like the Daredevil Daiquiri and an array of local brews.
Chelsea with Offline - I had a great time. The server was fantastic, I just feel bad I didn’t hear his name. Me and my friend enjoy bourbon so he picked some cocktails for us that were delicious. Then we ordered two appetizers Butternut squash + pita and winter flatbread and both were yummy! Definitely would love to come back. The seating also helps. Nice and cushioned. Ha.

Pretty solid rooftop in downtown Indy. It's perched on top of a swanky hotel. The drinks are creative but just normally executed -- nothing craft here. The prices are on the higher end for Indy but still acceptable. Nice views especially at sunset.

I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, there was a palpable sense of rejuvenation—warm, welcoming energy paired with elegant, modern touches that immediately set the tone for 10/10 drinks and 11/10 food (the Romano chicken is a must get). Every detail, big and small, reflects thoughtful attention and care.
Michael H — Google review
I love the atmosphere and ambiance - cozy yet classy. Views of the street from the edge-seating behind glass panels. There is also a balcony if the fresh air and a tinge of downtown smog is more of your forte. Overall, a beautiful gem and I would love to give this lounge 5 stars if the drink menu lived up to their prices at least in presentation. Will visit again!

Staff was visibly taking shots behind bar and clearly buzzed. They were awkwardly flirting with us to the detriment of service. Place had cool vibe but the service I had was abysmal. We went for the advertised happy hour which the bartender claimed didn’t exist. I had 2 drinks and they had a mandatory tip. 20% is reasonable but for the drunken service I had… no thanks.
Chris C — Google review
I wasn't a fan of the artichoke dip. It was too tangy. The drinks and food were overpriced in my opinion. The atmosphere was beautiful. It's definitely a vibe. Good customer service.

I come to Indianapolis for business every few months and always stay at Hotel Indy. For years, the best part of my trips was the Cannonball Lounge — a classy, low-key rooftop spot with mid-century modern charm, a small but stellar staff, and cocktails that were genuinely works of art. The bartenders knew their craft, the atmosphere was relaxed yet sophisticated, and it felt like a hidden gem. I came back last week after three months away and… wow. What a letdown. The Cannonball Lounge is gone, replaced by something called “Elevate Bar” — and they’ve stripped away everything that made it special. The decor now looks cheap and clubby, the unique cocktails have been replaced with generic, forgettable drinks, and the expert staff I looked forward to seeing has been replaced mostly by very young, inexperienced bartenders. Loud club music blasts late into the night (and yes, you can hear it in the hotel rooms on the same floor — terrible if you actually want to sleep). And the kicker? There’s an arcade basketball hoop on the rooftop. Who thought that was a good idea? I watched balls flying across the patio like projectiles — one nearly took out my drink. This is a liability waiting to happen, not to mention incredibly out of place. The only thing that’s improved is the food, which is decent. But overall, “Elevate” feels like a cheap attempt to make the space “chic” and “Instagrammable” at the expense of actual quality and atmosphere. They took something exceptional and authentic, gutted it, and served back a loud, unsafe, overpriced shell of its former self. If you’re looking for a cool, unique rooftop bar in Indianapolis — this is no longer it. Huge disappointment.

A decent 6-story view, but drafts are $13 after tax and mandatory 20% gratuity. The rooftop bar in Fountian Square has a far superior view and is way cheaper.
