Parks
Belle Isle is a picturesque island and park located in the Detroit River, offering a wide range of attractions and activities. Designed by the architect of New York's Central Park, it boasts an impressive landscape with various amenities. The island features the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, designed by Albert Kahn, which houses five distinct greenhouse sections providing a tropical escape from Michigan's harsh winters.
Very cool historic park. Lots of nice old buildings to see. The Conservatory is a nice site and so is the aquarium. There a lots of picnic sites and pavilions.
John B — Google review
It's a beautiful island park with amazing views of Canada, the Detroit River and skyline. There’s something for everyone. They have walking trails, picnic spots, a beach, aquarium, a huge playground, food trucks , and even a historic fountain. P.S. Don’t try the lemonade from this place it was NASTY!
Erika — Google review
Reasons why it's five stars: • The aquarium, we'll taken care of aquatic life. Clean, free, and informative. • Plant life, the green houses are beautiful well taken care of. I believe it is all volunteer based so that is even nicer. • I didn't use the bathrooms but just like any public bathrooms, I'm sure they are a hit or a miss. • Lots of walking, bike riding, picnic areas. Pretty buildings, ponds, and nature. Worth a check out. Will go again!
Makalah — Google review
This place has so much potential to be a 5 star location but it appears to be so neglected. No good clean working restrooms. Lots of trash everywhere and some of the people there had loud music. We wanted to relax by the water and enjoy the good weather but it was impossible.
Monica M — Google review
Always a fun experience so relaxing. The sand the water are so relaxing as well. Me and my family try to come here as many times as possible. Perfect place to grill and enjoy family time. With plenty of grills and picnic areas. Definitely recommend for anyone to come and relax. Definitely need to come back again. Watching the sunset here is AMAZING 😍 ☀️
Angel P — Google review
A big island with lots of activities to do and experience including a conservatory, aquarium, boathouse, fishing, beach and a light house at the other end of the island. We didn't have time to do most of the acitivities which are fun and free
Hani K — Google review
We had a picnic and went to the arboretum as an activity for my work, it was beautiful! We will go again and grill something next time. Also good for a bus tour on rainy days, that's what we did last time we went lol

Cocktail bar
The Monarch Club is an upscale club located in a fully renovated Neo-Gothic building, offering small plates and drinks. Situated on the 13th floor of the historic Metropolitan Building, it features three outdoor terraces with expansive views of Comerica Park and Woodward Avenue. The indoor section boasts a mid-century aesthetic with comfortable seating options and a marble bar top.
I absolutely loved the vibe here. Great wine, wonderful service, great small plates. Gregory knew so much about the wines, which I appreciated so much since we've been all over the country trying wine. We will definitely be back again to this rooftop bar. Expect small tables, great views, small plates, and great drinks. It's not a restaurant, it's way better.
Cathy P — Google review
The location is great, you have the option to sit outside or inside. We chose to be indoors because it was just too hot but zero regrets. I had the tainted love cocktail and my cousin had the superfly, which were both amazing!!! I also had an off the menu drink which needs to be on the menu ASAP. Michael made me “The Tickle”. Literally the most amazing & super refreshing drink. Like literally perfect. Make it a permanent drink immediately especially for summer time. If Michael is unavailable ask for Megan because she’s just as amazing. The crab cake was decent but the drinks are definitely the best.
Febeh A — Google review
I was referred to The Monarch Club by my friend Ravan who is a traveling bartender there, and wow, what an incredible experience! I went for the first time on Friday Oct 24th and loved it so much that I came back again on Sunday. The rooftop is absolutely stunning — the views are spectacular and the atmosphere is so classy yet comfortable. On Friday, Jenny made me my very first Espresso Martini (which was amazing!), and on Sunday, Megan made another one that was just as delicious. To top it all off, Sean surprised us with a champagne toast for my birthday, which made the evening extra special. A birthday to remember, for sure! Thank you to the wonderful staff and The Monarch Club team for making it such a perfect weekend. I can’t wait to come back! 🥂✨
Taylor B — Google review
First thing you need to Know: if you come here On a weekend night, you cannot be in a rush. Especially with the outdoor terrace, all 25 tables will be full. It is reservation only however, The poor servers are running ragged outside with essentially no assistance from Anyone. They are hustling back and forth, and you’ll be lucky to get in and out in less than an hour and a half at least. Our server was so friendly, but I could tell She was in the weeds. The drinks were tasty. Also, the chairs are without cushions and they get uncomfortable after a while.
Mateja R — Google review
We were hesitant to make a reservation based on recent reviews. However we were more than happy with the experience. Our server was personable and attentive, the view was amazing and the club was very clean. We will be back!
Donald S — Google review
Absolutely an amazing experience. Our server Walter was great. Drinks, food, atmosphere was so good. Definitely recommend.
Jennifer M — Google review
We loved having drinks at the Monarch Club, the rooftop bar at the Element Hotel. The staff couldn’t be friendlier and our server Gregory was particularly great. He is always in good spirits and makes you feel as if you are his most important customer. The views of Comerica Park and the rest of the city are spectacular. We highly recommend checking out the Monarch Club.
Marc K — Google review
The Monarch Club is a must if you're in the city. Reservations are also a must. It was our first trip there, definitely not our last! The minute you walk in you can feel the pride in the heritage of this club. The drinks were perfectly balanced, service was top notch (Greg is the absolute best), also, can't forget Lizzie who was there decorating for Christmas, everything looked amazing. The intimate environment draws people together, we met two amazing groups of people last night (Despina & her crew). The surroundings encourage togetherness but you could easily have a private romantic evening. The roof top decks (3) are beautiful with fantastic views of the city. The perfect place for a classy/romantic evening.

Architectural Buildings
The Guardian Building, a historic art deco skyscraper completed in 1929, is a beloved landmark in Detroit. Designed by Wirt C. Rowland, the building's exterior features vibrant orange brickwork with tile, limestone, and terra cotta, while the interior boasts a colorful mosaic of Pewabic and Rookwood tile with Native American themes. Stone carvings by Corrado Parducci adorn the entrance.
Amazing architectural design. There was a tour going on when I went in and I'm like don't mind me joining.Has a rich history with how the building was constructed and the stones came all the way from Tunisia.
Keandell P — Google review
What a pleasant surprise! I stumbled upon a paid tour while walking through the lobby I made some inquiries and found that they do tours all day but if you take any of the tours after 4pm you get a special treat. You get to go up to the top floor which has gorgeous views all round the city. But what was really spectacular was the tour guide. He shared history of the building, of the city and of the architecture in the area. Be ready to walk and get ready to also go into the basement where you'll get to see and step inside a bank vault. Totally worth the 60 mins. I recommend the tour for anyone that's walked by this building and has always been curious about the unusual architecture. Also don't forget tip your tour guide.
Claudia C — Google review
The historical architecture and design are absolutely out of this world and one of a kind. The details are amazing. I suggest one go see it for oneself and take a good camera. The building is open 7 days a week, equipped with a public bathroom and there's a nice little gift shop with all things Détroit and all things Michigan.
Rebecca L — Google review
I was thrilled to walk around inside this historic and splendid building. The paintings recorded the history and prosperity of this city. The first floor was free to visit, but we could not go upstairs.
Vincent L — Google review
Absolutely stunning Art Deco architecture — they call it the “Cathedral of Finance” and it’s easy to see why. The lobby is free to visit and worth every minute: colorful Pewabic tile work, massive vaulted ceilings covered in bold patterns, stained glass windows that glow when the sun hits, and the ornate metal gate with the clock at the banking hall. Great photo spot and easy to walk to from other downtown landmarks (Spirit of Detroit, The Fist, Campus Martius). If you want more history, there’s a guided “Insider’s Tour” available (~$12). 📸 Tip: Stand in the center of the lobby and shoot straight up for the best ceiling shot.
Blayz B — Google review
The architecture here is really impressive and I can see why it was designated as a historical landmark. If you're heading towards Hart Park its worth a stop.
Brandon E — Google review
Trying to see all the great architecture in Michigan and decided to finally check out the Guardian Building on one of their tours. Our tour guide was fantastic, and did an amazing job of weaving the information into a story and not just robotically spitting out facts. The building itself is a marvel to behold and the details on the ceiling of the "Grand Hall" and what was done in it's construction to help control noise was very interesting. Really wish it would be possible to see it all in it's original state, but there's enough history preserved to enjoy the wonder of this amazing building.
Scott V — Google review
Amazing building with tile artwork on the facade and interior lobby. The elevator banks are beautiful with stain glass windows at the end of the hallway and the grand Tiffany Clock that leads to the merchant hall.

Hart Plaza is a sprawling 14-acre plaza located in downtown Detroit, right next to the Detroit RiverWalk. It features the iconic Dodge Fountain and hosts major events such as Jazz Fest and Movement Electronic Music Festival. The plaza is adorned with sculptures and offers benches for relaxation, impromptu concerts by talented buskers, and a picturesque view of downtown Windsor across the river.
Went to the motor city pride with my best friend. It was such a wonderful event if you ever in downtown Detroit Michigan come on down here to Hart Plaza and have you some fun don’t you dare miss it. It was plenty of vendors. Plenty of live music plenty of dancingplenty of people. It was just a lot of everything and really enjoyed it. You would too trust me.

Visiting the African American Festival with my family. It was very nice the way it was set up. The poet knowledge had a great performance. The music was even better. I'm so happy to see the fountain going with lights 😍

I love to come walk here in the morning and watch the sunrise and listen to the water. Very intriguing and a must see if you ever visit downtown Detroit. Super relaxing in the mornings.

I visited an EXCELLENT vendor truck, CHEF 3059. I know Chef Dameka personally and her food is AWWWWESOME. Her truck and food are compliant and delish. She's clean and her staff is friendly, professional and timely with orders. Next time you're near HUNTINGTON also known as Cobo Hall, check out her food menu. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her fried Catfish and Chicken Wing dinners. They're well worth the money. You won't be disappointed.

Went to the African World Festival there. Lots of vendors selling a multitude of things and many great food options to choose from. Also, live entertainment. It was a great summertime outing.

Wonderful public space on the river downtown. Lots of upgrades and renovations done. Really miss the Pyramid Stage home of some of my fondest memories of the Detroit Jazz Festival.

This place is such a vibe. Everyone was nice and pleasant. The event i attended was awesome. Will love to visit again.

I thought that the most interesting thing to do in Detroit would be visiting motor museums because of the name “motor city”, however, the river walk around this area had a lot of fun. This fountain park had a beautiful view of Detroit city and Canada across the river. There were many people who playing skateboarding at this park. The weather was pretty hot in August. We took a rest here and cooled down standing in front of this fountain with heavy water flow. Definitely a signature landmark of Detroit to take pictures and enjoy the view. The city landscape here reminds me of that at Millennium Park, Chicago.

Bodies of Water
William G. Milliken State Park and Harbor, also known as Milliken Park, is Michigan's first urban state park offering a mix of recreational activities and conservation efforts. The park features a lighthouse, river walk, trails, picnic areas, and shoreline fishing spots. Visitors can enjoy stunning cityscape views from the 25-foot summit called Ze Mound.
This place is gorgeous! I got to walk around and I love that while you can look across and see the Canadian flag the water is beautiful! There are plenty of places you can sit in nature in the grass or on benches. It’s a beautiful scenic walk and they also have stationary public binoculars that allows you to see on the water etc. plenty of things to do!
Shimekia W — Google review
William G. Milliken State Park is such a beautiful and refreshing escape right in the heart of Detroit! 🌿✨ Located along the Detroit River, the park offers stunning waterfront views, peaceful walking and biking trails, and plenty of open spaces to relax. I especially love the lighthouse and the marina — perfect spots for photos and just soaking in the scenery. It’s a great place for a calming stroll, a picnic, or even just sitting by the water and watching the boats pass by. The riverfront pathways connect to the Detroit RiverWalk, making it ideal for longer walks or bike rides. Everything is well-maintained, clean, and safe, and there’s always a lovely breeze coming off the river. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this park is definitely worth stopping by if you want a slice of nature with gorgeous city and river views. 🌅🚴‍♀️🌊

Review for William G Milliken State Park ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The park is simply beautiful, especially at night. The calmness of the water, combined with the reflection of the lights, creates a peaceful detachment from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It's a serene experience that allows you to unwind and enjoy nature's beauty. This park is definitely one to remember and a place I look forward to revisiting. Highly recommended for anyone seeking tranquility and picturesque scenery.
RJ S — Google review
I had an amazing time at this marina, my friend is a slip owner here and offered an up day fishing trip, and all the folks were awesome. I honestly can't say much about other attractions since I just boarded him boat and hit the river. However he did share that there are plenty of walking areas around the facility and that the DNR museum is a great place to visit.
Carlos P — Google review
Very, very rare that you would have a state park right in the city right on the riverfront, but that’s what is here. They well for lack of a better word “beautified it“ but they’ve brought back the natural environment so it’s all wildlife and I’ll have to take more photos since the sun is going down These places are new to me. I’ve never been on top of this hill. It’s absolutely stunning view of the city of Detroit downtown Detroit, and just about everything.
Sharad D — Google review
So beautiful! I recommend getting a cocktail at the adjacent tiki bar and then taking a stroll through the park. You may be in downtown Detroit but you can get completely lost in nature as you wander the trail, cross foot bridges over streams and observe dozens of different butterflies. I love seeing milkweed grow here to help the monarch butterflies! Such a gorgeous piece of nature.
E. W — Google review
Fun water side walk with cool views of Detroit river. There is a nice walk path with great views and a lighthouse. Even more fun to rent one of the scooters and ride through. It only costs 14-20$ a scooter to ride around for 40 mins to hour. Lots of cool exercise areas and we saw people fishing as well.
Chris P — Google review
It was a nice nature walk on the river front. I saw lots of different birds this morning. It's a perfect place to see the sunrise. Although there was a lot of fog this morning, it was still a beautiful site. Seeing nature in the city is something on its own. There are places to sit, exercise, and play. The walk connects various parks together. You can even walk trails through the wetlands. I walked to the lighthouse and back. It was very beautiful. You can also stop and visit the outdoor adventure center since it's on the way to the lighthouse.

Bar
Joe Muer Seafood is a long-standing favorite in Detroit, known for its top-notch seafood and steak offerings as well as an extensive selection of wines and cocktails. Located at 400 Renaissance Center #1404, this upscale establishment has been a staple of the city's dining scene for nearly a century. With accolades such as being named Detroit's Best Seafood Restaurant of the Year for 10 consecutive years, it's no surprise that Joe Muer Seafood is highly regarded.
Came here for an anniversary. Lovely old world vibes, overlooking the river. Terrific food and perfect portions for trying lots of different things. The experience was lovely. Our server/sommelier was Kyle and he was great! Very knowledgeable and personable. I also loved the personal touch on our dessert plate. We will definitely be back!
Tom O — Google review
Joe Muer was absolutely amazing! Our reservation was honored immediately, the hostess was friendly and welcoming. Our server was very attentive and prompt. Bartenders make very good, strong drinks. Finally the food is phenomenal! We had oysters, hand rolled shrimp tempura, salmon, calimari, and fish tacos. Everything was delicious the sauce for the calamari was some of the best I've ever had. And I most certainly recommend the lavender75. They also validate parking with amazing views to Canada, we will most certainly be back! Often!
Chaz M — Google review
Started out disappointing since I wanted to sit outside on the patio overlooking the Detroit River only to be told it was closed. So, being only myself, I sat at the bar as close to the windows as I could. The bartender was courteous but cold. Not super warm or welcoming but he did his job efficiently. I ordered the Muers Prime Burger. A 28 day aged prime beef burger served on a toasted cibatta bread bun and I surprisingly chose cheddar over american. Of course, I asked for medium rare and was given a perfectly cooked med-rare burger. The truffle fries were amazing! Generously seasoned with an added sprinkle of parmesean. 😋 The burger was pretty amazing... probably my second favorite ever. Being Joe Muers, I'm confident the seafood is just as top notch. Go! But call first if you’re looking to get seated on the patio.
DR G — Google review
I have made a lot of reviews about a lot of restaurants. I'm not much of a seafood eater, but this had to be one of the best restaurants I have ever been to In My Life. The food was so good it made me change things that I didn't even eat into things that I love. My wife said that her crab imperial what's the best crab she has ever had in her life. And if you follow me at all you know we have been to a lot of restaurants. I don't eat fish, but I have a new favorite fish. I don't like spinach, but I had a dish composed so well I had to eat it. I wish it was possible to give 10 stars. The restaurant, the atmosphere, the view, everything about this restaurant was more phenomenal than any place we have ever been. I cannot stress enough I am not a seafood lover. And I love this place period for the first time ever I used a fork and a knife to cut shrimp. I was using their bread to soak up the seasoning from the appetizer. If you like seafood you will be absolutely over the moon when it comes to this restaurant.

Recently dined here for a birthday celebration and had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Our waitress, Victoria, was exceptional, attentive, and clearly committed to making our evening special. One highlight was the old-fashioned dessert cart, which added a lovely nostalgic touch. It was great to see the options in person before choosing. To top it all off, we had a table overlooking the river, which made the evening even more memorable. Definitely on the more expensive side of dining, but everything we ate was absolutely delicious and worth every penny. Overall, a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend!
Alicia C — Google review
To say the food was outstanding, would be an understatement. The calamari was tender, and extremely flavorful. Oyster Rockefeller was simply delightful. Waygu short ribs were so tender with robust flavor and the Tristan lobster tail is bar none the best I've ever consumed. Kyle, our waiter, was not only able to offer recommendations but extremely friendly and funny. We will be back again.
Lionmomalina — Google review
Our dining experience was enjoyable, but fell short of expectations. The server, Mark, excelled in explaining the menu and offering suggestions. The Oysters Rockefeller and Seared Sea Scallops appetizers were delicious, with the scallops boasting exceptional flavor and a delectable sauce. However, the Oysters Rockefeller lacked flavor and were overly filled with spinach, missing a touch of salt. The bread, bean, and vinegar accompaniment, as well as the butter, were unimpressive and lacked flavor. In contrast, the table-side filleted Whole Roasted Mediterranean Branzino with lemon butter sauce was outstanding. The second dish, initially intended to be the Florida Red Grouper, was substituted with a local fish due to availability, which, although edible, lacked flavor. The saffron rice pilaf was overcooked, and the black truffle mac and cheese failed to impress, lacking creaminess and flavor. While the dessert cart offered an array of options, we opted not to order. Overall, this restaurant seems overhyped and pricey, given our experience.

Visiting from North Carolina!! A beautiful night celebrating my mom’s 81st birthday at Joe Muer The food was delicious, the river view was stunning, and the atmosphere couldn’t have been more perfect. Mom was in awe, and everything turned out exactly how I hoped full of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. 🥰

Lumen Detroit is an upscale restaurant offering modern American cuisine and drinks in a stylish setting. It boasts a 45-seat rooftop patio with stunning views of Beacon Park and the Grand Army of the Republic Building. The restaurant's sustainable garden surrounds the patio, creating a picturesque dining experience. Lumen also features outdoor tables in heated igloos, making it an ideal spot for upscale evenings with friends.
We had pork belly, midnight bloom drink, baratta salad with blackened chicken, and Bistro Tenderloin special. Everything was delicious. Our portions were very satisfying. Our waitress, Brianna was great and we had a great conversation with Derek. He was wonderful. I highly recommend this place. They also have a rooftop and patio dinning.

My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner, and I was led to expect great things. She had gone once before and had only good things to say. For what it costs, the main plates that were served for our meal felt underwhelming. They were plated and dressed nicely, but did not deliver on any sort of distinct flavor. That being said, the crab cakes tasted very good. They had a nice texture that wasn't too dry and struck a good balance between savory and spicy. Our favorite item, however, was the dessert (not pictured). I cannot overstate how much we enjoyed the cheesecake. It lacked the fresh berries that the menu suggested it would have, but was delicious nonetheless. I also have nothing but good things to say about their service and space. The server and GM both did their best when they knew I was dissatisfied, and I saw that there were regulars who seemed to look forward to seeing the staff. Were I to go back, it would be for drinks and desserts after enjoying a meal elsewhere.

I didn’t love the vibes of this place but the food was a 10/10. I got the steak and fries, omg can’t stop thinking about the sauce that came with it. We were seated in the bar area which was pretty noisy, we had a reservation which was why we were kinda surprised we were seated near the bar. But other than that service was great and food was amazing!

Went to Lumen a few weeks ago and the food here is always amazing. The service and ambiance is also very nice. Our waitress was very attentive and ensured that we had an overall great experience. She even let us wait out a storm indoors because she knew our next location was down the street. Lumen is the place to go for great food and service.

This place was recommended by a Detroit friend and it didn't disappoint. The service, food and drinks were perfect. It's was in a awesome location near Fox Theater. Great timing for the Earth Wind and Fire Concert🔥

Our first visit to Lumen was absolutely outstanding! From the moment we arrived, we were treated with top-notch hospitality — a special shoutout to Riley, who provided truly amazing service throughout the evening. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, Riley made our dinner experience feel extra special. She also had some fantastic suggestion that we tried, and absolutely loved The food was just as memorable. We started with the crispy pork belly appetizer, which was perfectly cooked with just the right balance of flavor and texture. For entrées, the Lumen Burger was juicy and flavorful, and the Great Lakes walleye was cooked to perfection — flaky, fresh, and beautifully presented. And dessert? Wow. The crème brûléed cheesecake was rich, creamy, and had the perfect brûlée top — a creative twist on a classic. The cookie butter banana pie was indulgent and unique, and it left us already planning our next visit. Lumen combines great food, stylish ambiance, and world-class service. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a standout dining experience in Detroit!

Comerica Park, the vibrant home of the Detroit Tigers since 2000, is a must-visit destination for baseball fans and food lovers alike. Nestled in Downtown Detroit, right across from the iconic Fox Theatre, this stadium boasts unique features like impressive tiger statues and a charming 50-foot Ferris wheel. The diverse food court offers an array of delicious options—from classic Detroit-style pizza to mouthwatering hamburgers and international flavors that cater to every palate.
First time at this stadium. We paid the extra for super close parking right in front of the stadium as we had a carload. Man was that worth it! 1 minute walk into the park and no traffic leaving. Bit of advice is to make sure you don’t errantly stand in the bag check line if you have no bag! Walked straight in with almost no waiting. Chili cheese fries were amazing! View was great and the outfielder kept throwing practice balls to kids between innings. My son loved the experience. Would def recommend it.

Loved experiencing a baseball game here. Lots of restaurants and things to see around the park and less than a 10 minute drive to the tunnel if you're coming from Canada. The park itself had so many neat features from the noteworthy tiger statues to the carousel right in the middle of the food court. Seats were great and reasonably priced. We'll definitely be coming back for a ball game here.

Tigers game!! Comerica Park is a great place to take in a baseball game with something for everyone. There is a carousel and Ferris wheel for kids and those young at heart. There are plenty of bars for the over 21 crowd. It is an airy stadium that managed to stay cool in the shade despite a very warm Detroit day. Sight lines are great from every seat. They have a newer type of netting for fan protection that is more transparent and less obstructive of viewing the game. 100% recommend!

I have been to a few Tigers games and man I love this field! There is not a bad seat in the house and the food and drinks along with the little stores inside are so good! If you get a seat on the higher stands the bathrooms aren’t bad to get in and out of either! Overall and amazing time.

1st time attendee at Comerica and loved it. Nice environment. Liked the carnival smells everywhere as well as a tiger carousel and baseball mini-Ferris wheel. Nice displays honoring Decades of Tigers. Loved, absolutely loved the layout on the main concourse where you can see the field while standing in line for (fill in the blank).

First time here and it was great. We took stadium tour which was very informative and a great chance to view park before crowds. Tin Roof Detroit is a popular spot in the city, offering a relaxed atmosphere and a rooftop deck where patrons can enjoy pub grub, cocktails, and draft beer. The three-story bar provides indoor seating options as well, ensuring that guests can find their ideal spot regardless of the weather. Live music performances add to the vibrant ambiance of this venue. With its location near Comerica Park, it's an ideal choice for pre- or post-Tigers game refreshments.
If you’re going to a tigers game, where else would you go? Rooftop bar with amazing vibes, games, live music, wide variety of drinks, and a solid menu. Food is pretty average bar food, but you know that with a few drinks in you it won’t even matter. Mikey took great care of us and even let me charge my phone behind the bar.

Was hoping for better. I think that they are too busy for there own good. Casadeas and Philly both dry and good luck getting something wet. it was a game night but I would believe that they knew that before I had arrived. Wish I had taken food pics. Live and learn. FYI: Get seated for dine in because at the bar they wanted our stools to go standing room only. No plans to seat us elsewhere. I would pay a couple bucks more for better food. Best location in town.

I love this place and I’ve been coming here for years. But recently I came across a bartender who shorts people’s change, or charges you for what you didn’t ask for. On the second floor of tin roof this bar tender charged me $36 for 2 drinks and when I gave him $100 bill he gave me $34 as my change in return. I then asked him for a slice of an orange peel & he said no because I didn’t tip him. I then told him that my change was short and I needed a receipt. He gave me the receipt and never looked at me again. Or even came near me. Well thanks for tipping yourself an extra $30 and then asking me for a tip after. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BARTENDER

The Detroit Princess Riverboat offers a memorable cruise experience along the Detroit River, showcasing breathtaking views of the city skyline, especially at night. Guests can opt for a relaxing lunch cruise or an enchanting sunset dinner cruise, both providing a family-friendly environment. Additionally, the riverboat hosts an entertaining Motown cruise that pays homage to Detroit's musical legacy with all the classic hits.
Dinner and show was great. We enjoy every minute. Just one thing, we’ve been there a couple of times the last one for our anniversary and with coworkers, one thing I think it’s missing it’s announcing the area and tell historical stories or what some of the bridges and buildings are, I think it would be a great thing to learn a little more about Canada and Detroit. The food and service was great and the view was most excellent.

This was a fun night out with good food and great entertainment. Bar and snacks available with a smooth ride up the Detroit River. The sunset river cruise has absolutely stunning views from each deck of the boat. We will definitely do again in the future.

We did the sunset dinner cruise and had a wonderful time celebrating our friend’s 50th birthdays. The entertainment was fun, music to dance and the views outside were amazing, esp with the sunset and then nighttime the city lit up. The food was probably the only disappointment. Did not care for it very much. Would have been nice to maybe offer some bread or rolls too. Desert was ok. Regardless, we still enjoyed ourselves.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a fantastic time on the Detroit Princess Riverboat! The food was delicious and the dessert was just as good. The customer service was top-notch, and everything on the boat was very clean and well maintained. The Motown music made the whole evening feel extra fun and lively, and being able to enjoy the views of both Detroit and Canada from the top deck was absolutely amazing. They even surprised my friend by wishing her a happy birthday as we boarded, which made the night extra special. Overall, it was such a wonderful and memorable experience — highly recommend, definitely a 5-star outing!

We celebrated our 16th. wedding anniversary by starting with a luncheon on the Detroit, Mi. Princess boat. It was a tour of Lake Huron and we had a buffet, music, dancing and I liked it very much. Tickets for two was $128.49. Two hour cruise looking at Canada from across the waterway. Live music, dancing together and pictures.

I was very impressed with the Princess Riverboat. I have seen it many times but never was on it. We took a Cruise sponsored by our favorite NPR station WDET-FM. The ship is beautiful inside and out. We were on the 4th level and enjoyed the views, River and the music. I will try it again for a Dinner cruise as I was told by a friend that the Food is great.

If you are looking for a nice relaxing evening on the Detroit River, I might suggest a cruise on the Detroit Princess. We did the sunset cruise. Boarding starts at 6pm with the boat leaving the dock at 7pm. We boarded at 6, were taken to our table and by 6:15 or so the buffet was open so we were able to eat before the ship left the dock. Plenty of food and as much as you can eat. Our main course was salmon and chicken with red potatoes, salad, pasta and veggies. The dessert was vanilla ice cream, pound cake and strawberries. Cash bar was available as well. There was live entertainment, a Motown group, but we were on deck before they started. The cruise was relaxing and a nice night out. The staff and crew were great! They were friendly and clearly knew what they were doing. I know they want to accommodate as many guests as possible, but found the seating to be very tight and close. The dinner area is air conditioned which was nice.
Kelly H — Google review
A fun trip with great food and musical entertainment. I admit, the idea of a cruise down the Detroit river in a repoed gambling boat seemed as hokey as can be. But, everyone loved it. The food was actually great. I thought it would be terrible "wedding food", but it was all well seasoned. The only thing that was horrible was the Ranch dressing had Mustard in it. Who the hell though that was a good idea?? Don't mess with perfection just to try and be different. The entertainment was a band called The Prolifics. They tore through all your favorite Motown songs. Great five part harmony.... they really delivered the goods. There is no nearby parking available at all . You have to walk blocks from the closest lot. If there is any event going on downtown, you won't be able to park. Allow yourself a bunch of extra time before departure or you'll be sorry. There are elevators to all the decks, except the very top, so the boat is very accessible. Highly Recommended.

The GM Renaissance Center, also known as RenCen, is an iconic riverfront complex in Detroit that serves as the global headquarters for General Motors. Designed by architect John Portman, this architectural marvel consists of interconnected blue glass cylinder buildings and stands as the tallest in the city. Visitors can explore a variety of offerings within its premises, including shops, eateries, a 73-story hotel, and a concept car showroom that spans 44,000 square feet.
“The GM Renaissance Center, Detroit's most iconic skyscraper, serves as the global headquarters for General Motors. Located along the international riverfront since 1977.” Enjoyed my visit and checking out some cool cars which is on the lowest level of the building! After this visit you can walk through the building to check out Detroit Riverwalk.

When I visit Detroit, this is the building I love walking inside and also on the international riverfront. This complex of seven buildings is the most important skyscraper of the Motor City. The Renaissance Center is a Detroit landmark. I highly recommend visiting this iconic building when you visit the city, especially if you are Chevrolet (GM) fan!

Loved the city view from the 60th floor. Staff was extremely helpful. Breakfast was a cut above. Rooms are small, especially the bathrooms. But we loved the floor to ceiling, wall to wall exterior window. Amazing!

Definitely a very cool and unique building. It is definitely worth exploring the lobby and the area with all of the cool cars on display. Also having a Detroit people mover station right next to the building with a connecting tunnel is very convenient as well. I also like the very unique and futuristic architecture of the building The hotel and the restaurants in the building are also really good.

We are having such an awesome experience here! Excellent hotel right next to the river walk, and restaurants inside, including Panera. Apple Bees/iHOP is right outside and VERY reasonably priced - $13 for a plate of mashed potatoes/broccoli/chicken breast and $5 for a plate of 3 small-ish pancakes. Anyway - we are staying in room 6419 and the view is INSANE! The entire Detroit is visible from our windows and the sunset/sunrise is absolutely GORGEOUS! If you have a chance to stay at this room, or request it, you won’t regret it! There’s a restaurant on the 70? Floor that has the entire view of Detroit as well. We are dining there today and I’ll post a review if it lives up to expectations. It’s $90 per person with a $25 cancellation fee per person. Highly recommend staying at this hotel! You can see Canada from across the river too. You can even make a trip there (bring the passport, of course).

I love it! The GM Renaissance Center is truly the heartbeat of Detroit – a perfect blend of modern architecture, history, and innovation. The views of the riverfront are breathtaking, the atmosphere is vibrant, and you can feel the Motor City spirit in every corner. Whether you’re here for business, sightseeing, or just to soak in the skyline, this place captures the essence of Detroit like nowhere else. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience the real energy of the city!

A really interesting place to visit if you have the time. All of the current GM models are on the ground floor, as well as some heritage vehicles. The riverwalk is accessible through the back of the building. There are several dining options and a post office, but these tend to be closed outside of business hours. There is a restroom available. Overall very much worth checking out if you are in Detroit.

The Heidelberg Project is a unique outdoor art space in Detroit, founded in 1986 by artist Tyree Guyton. It aims to revitalize the city's East Side through open-air installations made from recycled materials. The project has transformed the neighborhood into an art gallery with painted houses and colorful exhibitions, promoting artistic and cultural relevance in Detroit. This ongoing initiative encourages the reuse and revitalization of found objects, contributing to educational and healing experiences for visitors.
A unique gem - the kind that could only have ever existed at this location, during this particular span of time. The art is beautiful and super cool, but it also serves as a powerful statement about government neglect, civic pride, and the resilience of the human spirit. Kudos to Dr. Guyton for his continued commitment to the project and his childhood neighbourhood. I legit just love the art itself, but the backstory of how it came to be makes Heidelberg all the more compelling!

Provocative in its essential odd chaos yet intentional piles. Both deeply sad as poverty and waste and junk is revealed in these few blocks, right beside proud ND clean yet worn down houses and carefully kept empty lots. Wish for more funding and hope thre is more vibrant connection in this neighborhood. Emptiness is flat yet resilience also evident. Hope that artist and mentors find themselves in this space.

This shouldn't be listed under museums in the area! It's nothing you should go see on your own and is in a very scary area of Detroit. We did not get out of our vehicle and wouldn't suggest anyone to. It was quite the scene...like out of a horror movie. The idea of it was interesting and the artist had good intentions but ....it's not a museum and should not be misleading ppl to go there.

My family and I absolutely love Heidelberg. It's a quirky place to visit that doesn't cost anything. Started by Tyree Guyton to bring Detroit back to life when it was going through hard times. We have been going there for years and have always enjoyed seeing the new creations. Our most recent visit Mr. Guyton happened to be there and he was so friendly. He took pictures with us and allowed me to paint a polka dot on the street. It was definitely a moment to remember. A few years ago my cousin did a documentary on it for his entrance into college making films. This place is truly a Detroit hidden gem and a work of art. It will always have a place in our hearts.

The Heidiberg Project was such a sight to see! There were so many amazing and creative pieces, and we even got the chance to meet the artist himself. He was so down-to-earth and took the time to answer all our questions. I even bought his picture book and got it signed, which made the experience even more special. Nestled in downtown Detroit, Campus Martius Park is an 8-acre public square that has been a focal point of the city since its establishment in 2004. This vibrant space hosts a variety of events throughout the year, from winter ice skating to summer concerts and festivals. Visitors can enjoy the park's fountains, trees, and two performance stages. Additionally, there are dining options like Parc Detroit and the Cruzan Rum Shack for a beach-like atmosphere during warm weather.
We came to this little gem this past weekend and what a fantastic central park it is! My wife and I enjoyed a couple alcoholic beverages while our son had a Faygo. The drinks aren't the cheapest but still cheaper than some restaurants or bars. $8 for a beer wasn't bad but $12 for an alcohol Slushie seemed steep. But the environment is fantastic and our son loved playing in the sand. Central to downtown Detroit. Will be back next time we're visiting Detroit. 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Okay, Detroit dwellers and visitors, let's talk about a true gem in the heart of the city: Campus Martius Park. This isn't your average patch of green; it's a dynamic, ever-evolving urban oasis. What makes it so unique is how it completely transforms with the seasons. I've seen it bustling with a summertime beach vibe, complete with sand and splash fountains – a total surprise in the middle of downtown! Then comes fall, and it's all cozy with beautiful foliage and a perfect backdrop for a stroll. Winter turns it into a magical wonderland with an ice-skating rink and twinkling lights, creating such a festive atmosphere. And now, as spring breathes new life into the city, it's a vibrant spot to just sit and soak up the energy. Whether you've spent the day exploring Detroit's rich history and culture or you're clocking out after a long workday, Campus Martius is the ideal place to unwind. Grab a coffee, find a bench, and just breathe in the city's pulse. It's a testament to thoughtful urban planning and a real asset to Detroit's downtown core. If you need a dose of urban tranquility that shifts with the year, this is your spot.

Beautiful accessible relaxing ! This view is from what I think used to be the beach bar/ restaurant. It’s a great place to sit. The food options are limited but we had a delicious plate of pulled pork nachos(fake cheese but so good) and a salad with all kinds of good stuff in it- can’t remember the name- it’s a little pricey for the quality of food and service but you could sit there all day and just look out the window and enjoy! so it’s kind of worth it. We enjoyed our time there.

This statue made me feel his power and dignity. Definitely a great photo spot. However, a black guy shouted at us “Asian welcome to America” several times. That was not “the spirit of Detroit”. That was racism. Racism should not exist in front of this amazing statue.

One of Detroit’s most iconic landmarks! The big green statue sits right in front of the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, and it’s free to visit. Perfect photo spot and right across the street from the Joe Louis “Fist,” so you can see both at once. What makes it even better is the vibe at Spirit Plaza right outside — today (Monday) there were food trucks lined up and a DJ spinning music, giving the whole plaza a fun block-party feel. Great place to grab a bite, relax, and soak in the energy of downtown. 📸 Perfect for pictures 🚶 Easy to reach on foot from downtown 🚗 Parking nearby (Ford Underground Garage is cheap & close) A quick stop that really captures the spirit of the city.

One of a number of things to see on our road trip, this was a challenge to find parking, but absolutely worth it. The biblical verse adds significant meaning. Nice area downtown Detroit.

This muscular man near the Detroit River is the Spirit of Detroit. It is cast bronze with a green patina that could be copper but isn't. He's 26 feet tall and was dedicated in 1958. At the time, it was the largest cast bronze statue since the Renaissance. In his left hand, he's holding a gilded sphere radiating rays, symbolizing divinity. In his right hand, a family, representing human relationships. Behind him, the marble wall is a quote from 2 Corinthians 3:17, "Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." He seems to get a few people posing in front of him, mimicking his style and pose. I opted not to do that and waited to get clear pictures.

Fantastic sight to see. Very large statue. During hockey season, they dress this status with RedWings clothes. Cool. Every year they update/paint this statue. I've never seen it vandalized. Impressive. There are lights at night too. Highly Recommended!

Belle Isle Park, a 982-acre island located just 4 miles east of downtown Detroit, is a scenic destination offering a variety of attractions and activities. Originally designed by Frederick Law Olmsted in 1879, the park features the Belle Isle Aquarium, Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, Dossin Great Lakes Museum, and James Scott Memorial Fountain. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, and birdwatching.
Very beautiful place to take a walk, jog, bike ride, have a cookout, enjoy wildlife, get on a boat, or just relax in general. The museum and garden are very beautiful and interesting. Unfortunately the aquarium was closed when I went but I'll be going back. You should definitely take some time from your busy schedule and enjoy life and nature here. I'm pretty sure you won't regret it.

Beautiful Escape in the City Belle Isle Park is one of Detroit’s gems — peaceful, scenic, and perfect for a day out. Whether you’re walking by the water, visiting the conservatory, or just relaxing on the grass, there’s something for everyone. Great views, plenty of space, and always a breath of fresh air! 🌳🌊✨

Belle Isle is a beautiful Michigan State Park located on the waterfront of the Detroit River. Since the state took it over the improvements are amazing. Be sure to visit the Belle Isle Aquarium and the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory. If you haven't been there in the last few years, it's a beautiful day trip. You need a Michigan State Park pass for entry.

This was a great place for a picnic with a large group of people. We found the pavilion and started the party. The weather was beautiful even though a little windy, it was a fantastic view!! People could mingle and meet people. Our event was catered and picnic tables were nearby to sit down and enjoy the meal. It was a very special place for a very special occasion!!

If I come back to Detroit THIS is where I intend to come. A Detroit must-see. Come prepared to pay $11 for the day or pay a yearly fee closer to $40-50--Which is well worth it if you are close. Parking can be different, and not ideal if you have mobility issues but unclear what more can be done. Bathrooms are widespread and also not the cleanest. Recommend to come early. Another place I would love to cycle It is wild to notice the difference in American architecture compared to Canadian....

Always wanted to go there but a little bit underwhelmed, we must’ve came on a bad day because the grass was overgrown and looked a little sad. We found a paved trail and walked to the lighthouse. The water was beautiful.!

The Detroit Riverwalk, stretching over three miles along the Detroit River from Rosa Parks Blvd. to the Belle Isle Bridge, is a stunning urban escape offering picturesque views of both Detroit and Canada. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk, run, or bike ride while taking in new developments and lush greenery. The park features amenities such as the RiverWalk Cafe, splash parks for kids, playgrounds, picnic areas, and restrooms.
There's no reason to ever be bored if you can get a ride here. Such a beautiful place to enjoy the city. You can rent stand up or sit down scooters. Walk around or sit and enjoy the view and atmosphere 😉

Lovely break. It was great to see people walking around outside enjoying the beautiful day. Very relaxing. Also appreciated clean bathrooms, the café for snacks/light lunch and a carousel for kids.

The Detroit Riverwalk is such a treasure! 🌆🌊 Whether you’re walking, jogging, biking, or just relaxing, the views of the river and skyline are gorgeous. The path is well-maintained, clean, and feels safe. Along the way there are playgrounds for kids, parks, splash pads, and plenty of spots to sit and take in the scenery. It’s family-friendly, peaceful, and full of energy all at once. Truly one of the best places to experience Detroit!
R V — Google review
The Detroit Riverwalk is honestly one of the coolest riverwalks I’ve ever been to. Stretching along the waterfront with views of both the Detroit skyline and Canada across the river, it makes for such a beautiful walk. The path is clean, well-kept, and full of spots to stop, sit, and take it all in. There are family-friendly touches like playgrounds, splash areas, and even a carousel, plus it’s easy to walk, jog, or bike along. What made it extra special during my visit was the energy — being right across from Canada, I got to catch some of the excitement of a game-day tailgate party happening that day. It really gave the area a fun, electric vibe that added to the already lively atmosphere. It can get a little busy in places, especially where walkers, bikers, and scooters share the same space, but that just shows how popular it is. During the day it feels safe and welcoming, though I’d probably stick to daylight hours if visiting alone. Overall, the Detroit Riverwalk is a must-see — a perfect mix of relaxation, scenery, and big-city energy. Whether you’re out for a peaceful stroll or soaking in the tailgate buzz, it’s a highlight of Detroit.

On our Girls Trip to Detroit, we had to stop by the Detroit Riverwalk. Lots of friendly people from Detroit and other cities. The view was very nice! It was a clear day, so we were able to see the Canadian flag, and took some great pictures. We went later in the day, so there was not much going on. There was a group playing "bongos," so we brushed up on our African dancing! 🤣 Detroit Riverwalk is a must see!
Darlynn B — Google review
This is a very nice park. It's very long along the Detroit River with a direct view into Windsor, Ontario. There are nice areas to sit and take a break, a wide walking path, interesting information about the history of the area, and art installations along it. Many people were walking up and down the path all day while I was there.
Tacoman G — Google review
A perfect spot to enjoy beautiful scenery while walking along the river. You can also rent a scooter for a fun ride. From here, you can see the Canadian flags across the river — only a bridge and the water separate the USA and Canada.
Tarun P — Google review
I took a peaceful stroll up and down the Riverwalk 3 nights in a row. The serenity of my walk was not interrupted by the vehicle driving by on the other side of the buildings. Families, couples, and individuals were sharing lower temperatures and a slight breeze. The views of a large American metropolitan city are juxtaposed with the small town scene of Windsor.

Detroit Riverfront is a vibrant waterside district that has undergone significant revitalization efforts, resulting in 3.5 miles of scenic waterfront trails, parks, and infrastructure. The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy has played a key role in beautifying the area and creating spaces for outdoor events and activities. With its wide pathways for walking, cycling, and other recreational uses, it offers opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors.
Easy to get to and a wonderful spot to just relax and take in the scenery. Super close view of Canada if you're wanting that. The walking area is very spacious and gives lots of room for groups if you have one. Overall it was a wonderful stop on our little trip. Would highly recommend.

This was a very pretty riverfront to walk along. I love how they have places to sit, bikes to rent, a carousal, and a playground. They have a spot where you can also grab food. You can see Canada on the other side of the river, which was really neat.

Amazing, Beautiful place to come and relax and enjoy family and friends. This was my first trip to the river front while visiting Detroit and it will not be my last. They have a bar on the riverfront that plays music and they have a fairy that will take you along the lake. There is also a concert venue where they have concerts scheduled throughout the summer. This is a place you should go and check out. I Highly recommend this attraction.

This place is great, clean, spacious with beautiful views. But not sure if it’s just me , I felt it’s easy to miss an exit and reach Canada through Detroit Windsor tunnel. So stay alert if you are visiting for the first time especially with GPS. Detroit riverfront has been voted as the best river walk in US. Well, it can be argued but this one defiantly is a great contender. Just make sure it’s warm and clear to make the most of your visit.

Make sure to check our the Heart Plaza, the Outdoor a Adventure Center and Belle Isle which are all within walking distance. The building's interiors boast soaring painted ceilings, intricate mosaics, and lavish brass and bronze details.
The Fisher Building is a gorgeous place to visit in detroit with some shops to check out and a theatre inside. The main draw is the stunning beauty of this building inside and out. It’s free to enter and look around and it’s truly a masterpiece. They don’t build like this anymore.

After enjoying lunch at a nearby restaurant, we decided to walk down to the Fisher Building because we were told it's a beautiful building that we should check out. This building gave me very European vibes, like Italian ones, based on the details. The ceiling, the details, etc were great. There are various shops throughout the Fisher Building. Everything from a bookstore to a ladies store to a Born in the D shop. If you're out and about in this area, check it out. The theatre in this building also features fantastic plays, so consider that next time you're in this area. 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Another one of Detroit’s most beautiful buildings to check out. The interior architecture is stunning. There are some really nice clothing stores, gifts shops and a convenience store inside. And of course you can view what is playing at the Fisher theatre and enjoy a show. Highly recommend stopping here whether you live in Michigan or are visiting.

The Ambassador Bridge is a 2,300-meter suspension bridge that connects the bustling city of Detroit with Windsor, Ontario in Canada. This iconic landmark has been featured in several films and remains the largest international suspension bridge globally at 7,500 feet long. The bridge serves as a vital link between the U.S.

The Ambassador Bridge is what connects USA to Canada. It’s a beautiful bridge! Overlooking the river and it’s pretty clean! The boarder crossing wasn’t long at all to cross over to Canada and on the way back as well it wasn’t too bad, but we went during the week, as I’m sure on the weekends it gets pretty busy. Awesome bridge overall!

Perfectly functional. Immigration officers are professional but as friendly as possible. Coming from the south side you have to be very careful in order to catch the exit from the highway to the bridge. There is a lot of construction on the highway. Try to go through during the very early hours of the day. Traffic is much more manageable.

The ornate venue hosts a variety of ballet, musical productions, and special events such as galas and weddings.
Went to The Detroit Opera House to see "The Central Park Five" and it was fantastic! The cast, performance and production were outstanding! Beautiful venue. Both the lobby and the theatre itself were really spectacular. Entry into the venue was quick and easy. The sound from the stage was good and traveled well. The only drawbacks were that the lines for the restroom were quite long during the intermission and there wasn't a lot of legroom at the seats, at least in the upper level. Overall, it was a good experience and I would return in the future.

Today was my first time visiting the opera house as i had won tickets to opening night to Back To The Future The Musical. Not to mention the entire building is beautiful. We were row U on the floor and our view was perfect. Such a great time, I look forward to attending more shows here in the future.

Its minimalist dining room offers stunning views of downtown Detroit and Windsor, Canada. The restaurant features a garden terrace for outdoor seating when weather permits and prides itself on using locally-sourced, sustainable ingredients to create its diverse menu.
When we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and a “Happy Anniversary.” The ambiance was very nice, and our server was knowledgeable and efficient. The drinks and food were very good. I had the pomatini and hubby had the Pinot noir. The beet salad was a great starter. My lamb shank fell off the bone - so good. Chef made a vegetarian dish for my husband, that was also good. Dessert (Nutella Bread pudding) was also fabulous. We walked along the river walk briefly, afterward, and it was a pretty view. Not a bad way to celebrate 20 years!

Great food at a reasonable price. The ambiance is an experience itself. We dinned outside on the patio & ordered a variety of food. The calamari and salmon was my favorite. My wife brought me here on my 52nd birthday. This was our first time here. Being in downtown Detroit I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with the area as it was just down the street from Atwater brewery. There's no signage indicating that you have arrived at the rattlesnake club. However, there is a covered awning-type entrance at the bottom of a flight of stairs that has the rattlesnake club monitor on it. While climbing the stairs I noticed the handrail was serpentine in shape. At the beginning and end of each section of the handrail was a snakehead in a rattlesnake tail. At the top of the stairs to the right was a large patio covered by a pergola. You could also see string lights were out. The day we went it was raining heavily and nobody was seated outside. Plus it was early spring and cold. When we walked through the entrance doors and up to the front desk my wife told the station attendant that we were early for our 7:30 reservation. The woman said that wouldn't be a problem and looked at me and wished me a happy birthday! We were seated by the window overlooking the patio. The service was excellent! I ordered the Prime center cut New York steak which was cooked to perfection as was my wife's Filet. Dessert was presented with a caramel spun sugar pyramid! If you have the budget, treat yourself to an upscale dining experience!

Fantastic views, superb service. The parmesan crusted walleye is THE best fish I have ever eaten. While I don't care for ring shaped calamari they were seasoned well enough and crispy so as to make up for it. My wife's lamb was excellent, too. I would highly recommend this restaurant and the prices were reasonable as well.

Motor City Brewing Works-Midtown is a cozy brewpub with a laid-back atmosphere and local art on display. Since its establishment in 1994, this brewery has been committed to producing high-quality beer. Located in the heart of Detroit's Cultural Center, it's close to various attractions and landmarks. The brewery offers flagship beers like Ghettoblaster alongside seasonal and special series beers such as Summer Brew, Corktown Stout, and Hard Cider.
Enjoyed a Friday afternoon sandwich and ale at Motor City Brewing Works. I ordered the Frank's Buffalo Sandwich, which was quite tasty. It had the Buffalo wing flavour, but it wasn't overwhelming. The chicken was nice and tender. I paired the sandwich with a Ghettoblaster Ale, which complemented the flavour of the sandwich quite nicely. The service was great, the bartender even replaced my buddy's Summer Beer, unprompted, because he said the original pour was too soon after replacing the keg. 🍺😀 The restaurant is a pleasant place to be on a summer afternoon, with a nice patio. This is one of our favorite spots in the city. It’s so cozy and welcoming. They play Motown music which helps add to the warm atmosphere. The service is always great/ They have THE BEST wood fired pizzas, their dough is on point and they have every topping you can imagine- and they don’t skimp! Their beer is delicious and their tasting portions are generous. We had a chorizo pizza that was on special and it was super flavorful. Love this spot.

Nice place. The salad was delicious!!!! The baked wings were just ok. Spinach soup was good. The beers were cold. The bartender was a sweetheart. He let me try several beers before I ordered one. The gin one was absolutely delicious and refreshing! (I'm not a gin fan either!) Upon arriving, there's a guy charging for parking, but you don't have to pay if you're eating at restaurant.

Great eating/drinking experience and some free parking downtown. Love it. No fire sprinklers, so keep an eye out for exits because this is a wood structure. We had four of their beers and each of hs enjoyed them. The pizza was a pleasant change from standards pizza. We opted for the Mary Did Have One. The crust was a perfect texture, and the flavor of the lamb was great. Definitely enjoyed our visit. Will have to visit again to enjoy the outdoor seating.

What a cool spot..met some friends here for lunch on a nice sunny day. Surprisingly it wasn't busy midday. They have a very nice outdoor area with seating and an outdoor lounge on the second floor. Since it was a little chilly we ate inside. The food was good. Our group had the chicken club and Detroit Bratwurst. All of them were very good. It was served hot and the presentation was good. Most importantly the food was good. There is tons of parking around, including a lot next door. This is a good spot to come hang out.

We came to eat instead of drink, and it was kind of meh. Hoped for better tasting food. The Smash Burger was better than the pizza. The meat on the burger has some nice flavor, the rest of it was lacking. The pizza lacked any flavor or spice. The pizza sauce tasted like tomato paste without herbs or garlic or anything that brings flavor. It was smaller than expected too. Not too great. I think this place is more about the beer than the food. The space is smart looking and trendy enough, but the food (on our visit) missed the mark.

Nice space. Classic/flagship beers and standard cider are good. The newer flavored beers taste a bit off with fake flavor addictives. Whiskey and gin seems a bit young but nice to see them trying to expand. Food was good with nice portions but service was slow. Overall, an ok spot that stays open later on the weekdays.

Great service and a wide selection. They really took care of the kids and the wooden games they have are great to occupy kids while you eat. Only complaint is that there were several items on the menu us not available. Pizza could t be made because the dough was still frozen and they were out of chorizo altogether. Not a huge deal as there were other great items menu.

Z Park Garage A is a garage that offers an air pump, public art, and electric vehicle parking/charging stations. It is attached to the Belt, close to other bars and restaurants, and feels very safe. The garage features beautiful murals on its walls.
Easy parking in downtown Detroit. It’s an internet based pay based on your license plate. Just log your plate info and credit card and that’s it. Optical plate readers charge you on exit. We paid $6 an hour including fee.

*Beware* Booked through the park whiz app for an unbelievable price for a Saturday night Tiger game. I never parked here before and decided to use it as we had a larger group with 2 cars. This location @ Grand River is right next to The Belt and several popular nighttime spots so it’s LOUD and busy with people walking and hanging out. Even though I booked a reserved spot, the gates were wide open with signs of $60 premier pricing. From research since it seems like they use digital cameras for Address billing for full amount no matter how you booked. With the gates being wide open, there were way too many cars in the structure, I’d assume thinking that it is free parking. This was a nightmare of a log jam, leaving as we were in the structure for at least 90 minutes. I would rather pay an extra hundred dollars and park in a lot from previous experiences to be able to leave and avoid a nightmare scenario I’ll be stuck in traffic for three hours. I’ve come downtown Detroit hundreds of times and this was absolutely my worst experience in my lifetime trying to leave the structure. Even worse than the Joe Louis parking during the Red Wings playoff days. So, if you’re looking to book, something cheap screenshot your receipts and be prepared to stay until events are well over or leave extremely early During busy downtown nights. Though this is also a popular garage for rooftop pictures bring patience.

$63 dollars and it took over 2.5 hours to exit. No security or parking attendant anywhere. It wasn’t until bystanders began directing traffic that we were able to move. This isn’t the first time this has happened and they really need to figure out a way to improve vehicle exits.
Erin K — Google review
It's hard to like a parking garage. This one I strangely like. There is artwork throughout. Always clean. Parking spaces are a little tight if you have a larger vehicle. Very close to a lot Detroit has to offer.
Chris F — Google review
Came here to watch the sunset at the top and take pictures on skates and was harassed by parking security the entire time as if we were doing skating tricks like Tony Hawk. Tell the security guard is to relax unless someone is in danger if people are just enjoying the structure, let it be. It’s never that serious and you don’t get paid enough.
Arielle S — Google review
I've never had any problems parking here. Pricing is steep, but the art and surrounding area makes it worth it for me. Close to a lot of places in Detroit and a great spot for photographers.
MarkaPhotog — Google review
We’ve been parking at the Z Lot for years, but after 2 separate “grid lock” experiences trying to exit we are now finished with the Z Lot. First of all - $60 “Event Pricing” is way too expensive. And then having to wait over 1 1/2 hours to exit the structure because they don’t pay attendants to direct & control traffic at the exits adds insult to injury. We are never parking at the Z Lot again. We’ll be spending our money elsewhere.
John F — Google review
Parking garage is centrally located and within walking distance of all of Downtown Detroit's attractions. Very clean. Short alley has a couple of intimate resterants. Highly recommend to visit one or two. Parking is $10.00 for a Sunday without a game $25/$30 for Lions or Tigers game. Getting in and out may be a bit difficult with narrow entrance and exit.

Bookie's Bar & Grille is a three-level sports bar in Detroit, offering American cuisine and buckets of beer. The suave space includes plasma TVs for sports enthusiasts and live entertainment. With a spacious rooftop bar, it provides great views of the city just outside the main Downtown area. Whether you're catching a shuttle to Comerica Park, watching a game on the big screen, or enjoying live music on the third floor, Bookie's offers an exciting party atmosphere.
I was in need of some good food and some AC after the Tigers game and did not disappoint. Wings and chilli were killer. Brandon was a beast behind the bar and was greeted with super friendly vibes from Spank the security guy. It was just what the doctor ordered. Have to siesta but prolly will check out the night scene.

I was seated in Jamie’s section and she personally went behind the bar and made my drink! Her service was beyond excellent! She was polite, attentive, and an exceptional bartender/server.

I pleasantly enjoyed my time at Bookies. The food was great and I had a very helpful server. I would recommend this place if traveling to the Downtown Detroit area. My server Leah was friendly and made the experience better than it already was. 10/10 would recommend. If you’re looking for a good dish I loved the nachos as well as the pulled pork !
Cam C — Google review
Visited last week during a work event. The staff are incredibly friendly, the drinks were top notch and the food we tried was beyond excellent. The Irish Nachos were crispy and flavorful, and frankly beat the food at the next restaurant we stopped at. I'll make a point of returning when I'm next in Detroit.
Michael S — Google review
We were pleasantly surprised to be seated so quickly and greeted by our server! Leah had such good energy and was so welcoming the entire time. She gave us a recommendation to try the pulled pork and it did not disappoint! It was very flavorful and tender not dry like some others. Great setting and a very clean environment.

Had great food and drinks here. The atmosphere was very nice, and I had phenomenal service from a very kind young man named Dan. He was very accommodating and quick with his service, while making good conversation and made me feel welcome. I will definitely be coming back here!
Michael S — Google review
I give it a 4.5 out of 5! Bookies is thee place for great bar food and cold beer before a Tigers or Red Wings game. Leah was fantastic, very nice, personable, helpful and sweet. Every server and employee should be like her! The pulled pork sandwich was awesome but, just one head scratcher, chicken nachos without diced tomatoes or shredded lettuce? Could also use a few more chunks of chicken, otherwise Bookies is always our "go-to" bar before games or concerts. Thanks Leah, give that girl a raise!

Went here for my first time yesterday before the Detroit rolling pub picked my group up. I was greeted very rudely by the hostess (dark skinned African American woman with an hat and a crop top with a belly button ring) and rushed as I was finishing my phone call. I walked in and called someone from my group to see when they would arrive so I could grab us a table! I wasn’t even at the counter on my phone because I feel that’s rude but I was approached very rudely by the door and then rushed to get a table when there was literally only one other table there eating when I walked in. After we sat down, another large group walks in. I witness the same rude hostess rudely greeting the group and rudely telling them to leave their coolers outside the door! I even watched one lady from the group tell her friend how rude the hostess was. So this now told me, it was not me or the other lady patron, that this is a personality trait within the hostess herself! Thank god the waitress that came to our table was not this woman because I’ll tell you right now her tip would have IMMEDIATELY dropped down to 10% for the attitude. That also brings me to my next issue with the coolers. I understand how Law works, and I understand it is a law to not bring alcohol into a bar. However, this place being the meeting spot for the Detroit rolling pub, I feel that should have been clearly stated in the communications from the rolling pub and clearly communicated outside of bookies. Having the ghetto security guard yelling at people and telling them he will watch their things as I literally watch him holding a conversation in the restaurant not paying attention to anything outside is insane to me, especially when it was never communicated through the Detroit rolling pub communications. But anyways, I probably would go back because the food was great and give it one more shot, but they definitely need to reconsider who they hire as a hostess. Her job is solely to greet people, and she failed miserably at that. I also hope she never wants to become a waitress there one day because she will literally leave with nothing at the end of the night with that attitude. Find staff that cares to be a nice person at the job THEY CHOSE!

Highlands Detroit is a stunning bar and dining venue located on the 71st and 72nd floors of the Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit. This remarkable spot offers guests an unparalleled view of both the Detroit skyline and Windsor, Ontario, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to elevate their cocktail experience. With its glamorous atmosphere, Highlands redefines fine dining with a diverse menu crafted by acclaimed chef Shawn McClain, featuring innovative steakhouse dishes paired with exceptional wines.
The Highlands has an absolute AMAZING view! Seeing the city of Detroit through the elevator glass going up 70+ floors was absolutely beautiful. Not to mention, sitting in the dining room area during the evening gives you an amazing view of the Sunset. Onto the drinks; absolutely delicious! I had 2 different espresso martinis which were amazing and my friend had a drink called Trip To Paradise and it tasted so so good. The Highlands burger was served hot and tasted absolutely amazing! It was served with grilled onions and pickles and it was the best burger I’ve had in a while!

Didnt get to eat but the service, views and drinks did not disappoint. The menu sounded great but was certainly on the higher end side. Would love to go back and dine on a future visit for.sure. If you are close and the weather is clear go up for the views! PS- its not easy to find the elevator and it is glass all the way up so be ready for a little adventure to get there.

I opted for the three-course experience and kicked things off with the beef tartare—a bold move for someone new to raw beef, but I’m so glad I tried it. It was rich, flavorful, and unexpectedly addictive. For my second course, I enjoyed the shrimp prawns, which were plump, perfectly cooked, and seasoned to perfection. My main course was the New York strip steak—tender, juicy, and cooked exactly how I like it. I closed the evening with their cheesecake for dessert—light, velvety, and just sweet enough to seal the deal.

Hands down the best experience I've had at a restaurant in a while. My husband and I decided to splurge on our one year marriage anniversary and it was the correct choice. Jennie went absolutely above and beyond and honestly just such a joy to have take care of us and explain the menu. The General Manager took the time to visit us and congratulate us on our anniversary as well as the Chef Kyle for visiting our table. Thank you for giving us such a memorable experience. The food was exceptional and we are excitedly planning our next visit!

Went here for the first time for a birthday on a monday. Started with drinks in the bar area while waited for our table. The old fashioned was great and their take on the espresso martini was delicious. The milk bread for the table was very salty and soft. First course we had the king prawns and gnocchi. Prawns were fresh and delicious but the gnocchi was the standout. The veal sausage in it was incredible. For mains, we had the New York strip and the chicken. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes with the strip were incredible, so buttery and smooth. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée and pavlova. The crème brûlée was the standout. The birthday sorbet was also delicious. The views are unmatched and it was fun to just sit there and look out into cananda and detroit. The waitstaff was incredibly attentive and friendly. i definitely want to try out their happy hour menu with the burger. will definitely be back.

We came to Highlands Detroit for a special occasion dinner and opted for the coursed menu with wine pairings. From the second we walked in, the experience felt elevated — the view was unreal (floor 71!), the ambiance was romantic and cozy, and our server was incredibly thoughtful the entire night. We started with two shareables: the Maine oysters paired with Prosecco were super fresh and bright, and the foie gras brûlée paired with a lightly sweet Brachetto was so good — probably one of my favorite bites of the night. First course was Wagyu beef tartare and tuna crudo, paired with a beautiful rosé (Matthiasson). Both dishes were plated beautifully and tasted just as good — the tartare especially was rich and flavorful without being heavy. Second course was a split: I got the Wagyu short rib (tender and comforting, but not totally sure it was worth the $15 upcharge), and my fiancé got the bolognese, which was actually incredible — bold and spicy with a peppery kick. The wine pairings here were spot on — the Nebbiolo with the pasta was especially good. Third course is where things dipped. I got the scallops, which were gritty and really hard to eat (I didn’t even finish them, and I usually love scallops). The lamb shank was overcooked and dry — a huge contrast from how strong the earlier courses were. Luckily, the wine pairings still worked well — especially the Garnatxa Sumoll with the lamb. For dessert we ordered the banana panna cotta with an espresso martini but our excellent waiter gave us two complementary glasses of champagne and a crème brûlée on the house. The espresso martini and banana panna cotta were delightful and honestly one of the highlights of the night. Overall, this place is definitely worth visiting for the view, ambiance, and service alone. The wine pairings were 100% worth it — they made each course more fun and flavorful. Some of the dishes were absolutely amazing (the oysters, foie gras brûlée, tuna crudo, wagyu tartare, and bolognese) while others (like the scallops and lamb shank) shocking mediocre. Still, I’d come back in a heartbeat — I’d just pick different third course options next time and stick with what Highlands clearly does best: starters, courses one and two, wine, and of course dessert.

Mike's on the Water in St. Clair Shores is a seafood and burger bar with a nautical theme, offering a coastal retreat experience right by Lake St. Clair. The restaurant is known for its lobster rolls and offers an outdoor patio where guests can enjoy fresh catches while watching boats sail by. Situated along the bustling shores of Lake St. Clair, it features ample marina space for boat docking and has a lively waterfront patio as well as a rooftop deck and food truck area.
Was initially disappointed with the menu. No crab, lobster, major seafood for a spot over the water. No desert. Settled on shrimp and mashed potatoes. Was pleasantly surprised. Enjoyed the sun and a few drinks. Spot is a little small for a crowd. Plan to wait. Also can get cool if the sun is blocked out. Me, I come for the sun. Would recommend + come back. Just don’t drop nothing. The water will be unforgiving.

Tried Mikes because of the "on the water" atmosphere. Being here (especially sitting outside on a nice Summer day) feels a little bit like being in Key West or a similar tropical location... The workers were all busy. Bartender was friendly. Everything seemed to be going well. The only issue I had was in trying their famed lobster roll, I found it to be quite bland. 😔 I heard another guy sitting at the bar near me tell the bartender that he gets the lobster bisque all the time, but this time it was watery and not as good. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, IDK 🤷🏽‍♂️. Im certainly willing to go back and give it another try just based on the atmoshere... but I hope when I do the food will be better next time. But for now I think youre paying for the tropical vibes moreso than the taste of the food.

A nice place you'll never see driving by because the buildings are on the way. Sits back by the docks. Service was terrific: friendly and quick. The place is full of nautically themed items and pictures decorating neatly every square inch of wall space. In my never-ending quest for a good Cuban sandwich north of FL, I ordered it here. It was a good sandwich, but more a Media Noche than an actual Cuban. The size was good for lunch and it was pressed somewhat, but the mayo was on the side and the pork was a bit dry. (B+) The chips had great crunch but little flavor. Music is classic rock at a volume you could easily ignore, thankfully. Several other items on the menu looked good so I will likely return.

I have heard good things about Mike's on the water and was looking forward to trying them out. 7/26/25, the atmosphere was great, and I loved the old look of it. Waited at the host desk for about 3 to 5 minutes before I asked another guess could you order from the bar, she was great with giving directions and giving information about the place. So, I ordered at the bar 2 perch dinners, $23 each. So, I was expecting it to be really good, based on what was told to me by someone who referred me. Got my food and looked at it before leaving. It looked good. However, it lacked an aroma of cooked fish. Not letting that deter my anticipation of enjoying what I was told would be good. I sat down and began to eat. This definitely wasn't worth $23 dollars. Not a fan of the tartar sauce, tasted like nothing more than just mayonnaise. The perch was completely tasteless, with no seasoning at all. The french fries were edible, and the coleslaw was the only high point of this $23 dollar meal. I expected fireworks from this $23 dollar meal and got nothing more than dollar menu thrills.

You guys got to go see this Snoopy collection! And get a Maurice salad! Ask for a shaded spot if it's super hot and be willing to wait for it. Also go for a walk on the other side of the dock where boats are parked next to the restaurant, all the way to the water. It's beautiful and a fantastic date spot! Mine keeps talking about it.

Came here with my partner Valentine’s Day weekend. We stayed at Hollywood casino Greektown so it was about a 3 minute walk from the door of our room to the door of the bar! We reserved VIP and met friends there. The waitresses were all very sweet and helpful. The later it got, it definitely became more “club” but I’m not complaining! Bottle service wasn’t extremely expensive, pretty average for the big city. Had a great time and would definitely come back!

Seated and served right away as it was an early Thursday evening. Our server was very attentive. The music was a little loud but didn't bother us at all. Establishment doesn't normally take CC's, but the manager has a square for payment if you ask. Other than that, it's cash only. WARNING- READ YOUR BILL!! GRATUITY IS INCLUDED ON BILL ALREADY!!!!
L D — Google review
The view was nice. The service was good, and the beer was inexpensive during happy hour. They are the only pub I've been to that has Peroni on tap. The reason I gave 4 stars is because they automatically charge a gratuity for a party of two. I asked the server about it and she said they do it on all of bills. The gratuity charge was no where near what I would have given but it is a real pet peeve of mine that they put an automatic gratuity charge and don't mention the fact they are adding the extra charge.

What could’ve been a good experience turned terrible. The bouncer was super hostile and called me the b word. He initially let us all in, but we were waiting on a friend and said we’d come back while we check out the bar next door. When we returned, he made up an excuse that my friend (the only African American male) couldn’t enter (after he let us enter 20 minutes ago) because he was wearing a tank top. When fixing the solution by giving him another one of our friend’s shirts, the bouncer still said that he won’t let us in. There was 10 of us. This was ridiculous. What I didn’t tolerate was his utter disrespect, dishonesty, discrimination and the fact that he called he the B word. Hire better staff, be more respectful and hopefully you guys will raise your ratings. DONT GO HERE

This is my favorite restaurant/bar in the metro Detroit area - the atmosphere is WOW!! In the summer the place is beautiful but the food is killer all year! Posting this review worries me that I might pump up the business, & then I'll never be able to find a table, but who really reads my reviews ....?? The only negative & problem rite now, is that the construction on the street has to be killing the business in the area. I've even placed a carryout order because the food is so next level & i live 30 Minutes away - that says a lot itself! Chefs Kiss to the kitchen staff & to the menu creators - if I could I'd give it a million stars!!! I love the menu so much!

My friend was potentially drugged & assaulted in the VIP area and I was freaking out. I had the Uber outside waiting and finally get my tab to see it was $92 without tip for our 5 drinks (mind you the bill didn’t list out each item). I was confused but in mom-mode helping my friend, and the over was waiting, so I left a $20 tip too and was planning on getting it all fixed the next day. I DM’d them on IG and turns out they didn’t care about my friend getting assaulted at all. And when they sent me the itemized bill i saw that they added an extra 4 high noon beers to it that we didn’t order or drink, and refused to refund me. Then they blocked me!!

The first time I came to the DIA I was suprised to see they had a native American wing. Michigan is home to a few tribes. Was bummed to see nothing about the local tribes there. I asked a docent " you have so many local tribes one being the largest remaining tribe in the united states and there is no mention of them " is there some reason why? I know most museums repatriated a lot so injust said i think your really missing out on showcasing the art of the ojiibwe the rest of the annishinabeeg tribes. Some ofntheor art and embroidery is stunning. That was in 2023. 2025 im on public radio and I hear your opening an exhibit of a contemporary indigenous ojibwe artist? Wow. That's really cool im impressed. I love the DIA but now I really dig ya! Keep on getting better and giving me good reasons to come in. By the way their open sketch is way cool! Thank you DIA your one of a thousand reasons ill never move out of this city!

Beautiful building filled with great art and historic artifacts. Only spent 3 hours in there so I didn't get the chance To explore the whole thing, it's definitely worth another trip or 2 to really take everything in. The Cafe was super busy by the time I got hungry so I skipped it but it looks like a nice relaxing courtyard to take a break in if you're planning on spending the whole day there. The Diego Rivera mural is truly a masterpiece. Shout out the lovely Michelle at the front desk!!!

It was a dream of mine to visit this museum one day. I finally got the opportunity while visiting the University of Michigan and had some hours to kill while waiting for my flight. The access was very quick and the staff gladly took out carry on luggage and bags at the cost check so we could visit the place, something other museums don’t usually do. The place was even more magnificent than I imagined and crowds were light on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The store is also worth noting, since I collect museum catalogues I purchased one and was pleasantly surprised by the affordable prices, compared to New York or Paris, where you can find world-class museums such as this one.

I could have spent days and days here. Loved all of it. Every single piece of art. So much to take in. So many things to do, not just look at beautiful art! Workshops, preformacnes, two delicious places to eat, and an amazing gift shop that is its own art gallery. So much fun, I cant wait to go back.

I was super impressed by the museum’s wide-ranging collection—there’s so much to see! The mural in the central room really stood out. Definitely recommend listening to the guided tour for that part—it’s fascinating. The museum also has a mix of functional spaces with different styles and programs, which keeps things interesting. When you need a break, don’t miss the courtyard café—it’s one of the best I’ve seen in any museum and makes you want to linger. We happened to visit on a weekend when they were hosting a Taiwan tea culture lecture and tasting. What an incredible experience! Not only did we learn a lot about Taiwan’s rich tea traditions, but we also got to enjoy some truly amazing teas. Another highlight is the building itself. The size feels just right—not overwhelming, not underwhelming. It’s easy to navigate and still offers plenty of exhibition space.

This was my first time at DIA. The experience was so so in general. I brought my girlfriend, a 12 year old and 8 year old. We hit the awesome cafeteria before the adventure. The art itself is amazing. The map is ridiculously bad. I struggled finding my people once we split up. It's hard to navigate one section to another and pieces are kind of in random spots at times. I know I am there to see the art, but the rooms were drab and dark, sometimes the lighting on the art made it hard to take a photo. It was hard to figure out what I truly was there to see. There is a few lobbys and there wasn't nothing with the special exhibition I wanted to see. If I decide to go again, I would go by myself or take someone that appreciates art at its finest.

The Motown Museum, located in Detroit, is a renowned landmark and a must-visit for music enthusiasts. It was the birthplace of Motown and played a pivotal role in launching the careers of legendary artists such as Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross & the Supremes, Smokey Robinson, and many more. The museum preserves the '60s charm of Hitsville USA and features Studio A where iconic music that transformed American culture was created.
I literally couldn’t tell you the awe I was in finally going here. I absolutely love and adore soul and blues, and coming here myself (despite the location being local) was in the works for a long time. Firstly, phenomenal museum; I recommend getting your tickets in advance and then showing up for your tour. The tour is lead by one person usually, and you’re in a larger group. So there’s really no pressure to the visit. You’ll learn some neat little facts about Motown Records and see some of the coolest memorabilia ever. You walk in the studios, basically as they were during the peak of Motowns musical presence in Detroit. If you’re reluctant to go, don’t be! Genuinely one of the best hours spent.

This is MOTOWN so there's not much to say because the history speaks for itself. To see and hear about the history in person was a great experience. There are plenty of facts to learn about Motown that will surprise you. To see the original items and hear the back stories is captivating. Viewing the wall with the album covers was interesting because I still have 11 of those albums. The staff was courteous and friendly. The tour guide kept you informed and interested throughout the tour. They are in the process of expanding, so it will become even more intriguing.

So I really wanted to give this place five stars however be aware that it is a very short tour and when they have accomplished their new building I am sure I will be coming back to edit. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and we definitely learned a lot. My aunt who I was there with is high functioning autistic so people sometimes dont notice and I felt like the tour guide was a little short with her. The tour I believe last less than hour and the end of it getting to walk through such an iconic studio is very cool. The gift shop is well stocked and what made this place was the knowledge of the tour guide. I feel that with out her I would have not really learned much and as I said even though she was a little short with my Aunt I will not take away from her knowledge, her enthusiam, and cadence was superb.

This is literally one of my top three favorite museums in the entire country. It was so meaningful, not only to trace the history of music in Detroit, but to see how the producers created such a culture of mentoring and guiding musicians through the entire process. It was inspiring on so many levels, and you will not go go home without singing your soul out. I’m thrilled that they will have a new and improved space to tell an amazing story.

Absolutely essential to visit. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. And a performer in the best possible way. Thought we knew alot but learned so much more! Also. A woman on our tour had worked there in the early 1970s. This was her first return... 2025!

I’ve never been to the Motown Museum before. We were in Detroit for a family reunion, so we all bought tickets to try it out. It was the best money I’ve spent in a long time. Our guide was enthusiastic and had the knowledge to spit knowledge to everyone on the tour. We were thoroughly impressed. If you’ve never been, do yourself a favor and learn something about Motown. You won’t be disappointed. 💯

Such a historical beauty! The neighborhood is well maintained. While we did not go inside, the grounds were manicured and the staff appeared to be engaged with the customers in a positive way. Side street parking is available, but there may be a short walk on a busy day. Do not park in the funeral home parking lot next door. I admire the work being put into maintaining this historical gem.

I did the tour and it was very interesting. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and fun. The history was amazing and hearing the stories brought the place to life. Arenas & Stadiums
Ford Field, located in downtown Detroit, is the home stadium of the NFL's Detroit Lions. It offers behind-the-scenes tours and hosts various events throughout the year, making it a popular destination for sports enthusiasts. The stadium's multifunctionality allows for concerts, monster truck shows, and other events in addition to football games. Situated in historic Corktown, it is within walking distance to Comerica Park and Little Caesars Arena.
Ford Field is an epic venue for football and other events. We have been here several times, and once last year during a game, it hit 135 dB! Crazy. The Lions are fun to watch and there are lots of good food choices (at NFL prices) and some history too. It's built into the old Hudson's warehouse which is pretty historic. There is plenty of parking in ramps or surface lots.
John C — Google review
Nice, indoor football stadium near downtown Detroit that hosts the Lions and other events. Plenty of parking is located nearby and there are attractions in the area too so it is in a good location. There are a lot of restaurants around so if you want to eat before or after going to the stadium, you will have plenty of choices in that regard. The walkability to and from the stadium is nice and it being surrounded by so many other options is a plus when you visit. Overall, it is a good venue.

Hard to beat our first experience to Ford Field. Stadium was fantastic. Entertainment was awesome. Didn’t hurt that the Lions put a beat down on the Bears. Everything was super expensive, but that was no surprise. Can’t wait to go back.

My first time at Ford Field, for a Detroit Lions game, and it was amazing! It was clean, easy to get in, out, and around, the security people were thorough, but still friendly while doing their jobs - I never felt UN-safe. Compared to old Cobo, and Joe Lewis, it felt more open and airy. I had a great experience tonight and can't wait to go back!

I took my nephew, a huge Lions fan, to the preseason game on August 16, 2025, and we had such a great time! The staff, both outside and inside the stadium, were extremely helpful — they guided us to our seats and even helped us find the food stands we were looking for. We enjoyed some pizza and snacks while watching the Lions battle it out on the field. The atmosphere inside Ford Field was absolutely electric, and it made the whole experience unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back for our next game. GO LIONS! 🦁 5/5 ⭐️

I love Ford Field! The roar from the crowd is heart pounding! I took a star away only because of pricing. The food was way too expensive! 1 slice of pizza was $12 and one slice of cheese cake was $15. I restroom were clean and plenty of supplies. I recommend this place 100 %. Just bring lots of money with you to spend 🤣

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Ford Field Sets the Standard for Game-Day Innovation” Ford Field isn’t just a great stadium—it’s a pioneer in fan engagement. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the energy, but behind the scenes, advanced technology is working to make every second better. The Detroit Lions have invested in an Analytics War Room, the first of its kind in the NFL, to monitor real-time data on crowd movement, concession lines, and even where fans are looking during key plays. This means smoother traffic flow, shorter waits, and perfectly timed content on the massive LED boards—whether it’s a replay, a hype video, or an ad for your favorite drink. The integration of CrowdIQ attention tracking and AI-powered insights ensures that every message—whether it’s an update, a promotion, or a highlight—is delivered at the right moment. Combined with the stadium’s top-notch sound system, crisp visuals, and comfortable seating, it creates a seamless blend of excitement and convenience. Add in the friendly staff, clean facilities, and prime downtown location, and you’ve got more than a venue—you’ve got the future of live sports and entertainment right here in Detroit.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown Detroit, Wright & Company is a culinary gem that offers an exquisite dining experience with its creative small plates and craft cocktails. The restaurant's ambiance reflects polished vintage charm, making it a perfect spot for both casual outings and special occasions. Under the guidance of James Beard-nominated chef Marc Djozlija, guests can indulge in a seasonal menu featuring delightful dishes like paella arancini and Spanish octopus.
Great food, first time in Detroit and I was impressed. Service was great, food wast tasty and well prepared, and the atmosphere (which was amazing) was probably the least impressive part. We tried half the menu and walked away bellies full with big smiles

November 2024 - came here before going to the Fox Theater with my wife. It's a very nice restaurant. We sat at the bar but it took almost 35 minutes to get our last good order. The sliders are ok but the chips are really good. The drinks and the steak was really good. Worth heading here if you want a great drink. The bartender we had did an amazing job. Overall, we would come back again but with a small group.

We were passing through Detroit after leaving a taproom and stumbled upon Wright & Company in my Google search… what an incredible find! The space is gorgeous, with that perfect mix of historic charm and modern elegance. Our server (I wish I remembered her name!) was amazing. I let her know my friend had a less common allergy but on the more serious side, and she came back with a fully chef-curated menu showing exactly which cocktails and dishes were safe. That level of care and attention was such a standout, truly some of the best service I’ve experienced. Every dish we ordered was delicious, but the housemade potato chips and the crab gnocchi were the stars of the night. I also ordered the Phoquiri cocktail, and it might be one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Maybe I’m biased as a Vietnamese person who ate pho most of her life, but it was brilliantly crafted by their bartender (who is also Vietnamese). Served in a soup-like bowl, you literally sip it as if it were pho broth.. creative, fun, and absolutely delicious! What started as a quick, last minute dinner turned into one of the most memorable meals we’ve had with these friends. So glad we stumbled upon this place. I’d definitely come back to Detroit just for this experience.

"Full but unsatisfied" was our experience. I'm sure under other circumstances it could have been better but we had a lot of things that impacted out visit. We did make reservations, for Sweetest Day, and were seated at the bar. Typically when we make reservations we get a table. The bar was not as comfortable when we expected a table experience. The temperature in the restaurant this night was too high. We spent a lot of time needing to fan ourselves with the menu. There was a window right behind us that looked like it could have been opened but nobody seemed to acknowledge it wasntoo hot. Other customers avtually said "yea it's hot in here". Our first drinks were great! Well done! Unfortunately it went downhill from here. We often ran out of water. Being hot this was unpleasant and sitting at the bar this was rather confusing. You often get top notch service from the bar area. We ordered all the sliders. The crab salad sliders were good...but maybe seemed overpriced for how much you got. The pork belly sliders were very good and priced more reasonable. The cold carrots were more spicy than flavorful...which I like but my wife does not. We ordered a sage gin drink and it just tasted like a gin and tonic. No other flavors at all. Needed to ask for the bill twice and then we then had to wait to pay which honestly is the part customers should not have to sot and wait for a long time. Our bartender dropped off the bill and then disappeared. We had to flag someone down to pay after waiting. Overall not a great visit for us. The first two drinks were the best thing but not enough to offset the rest of our experience.

Having visited Wright & Co. many times across various menus, I can confidently say it's always exceptional. The atmosphere is captivating, perfectly complemented by a thoughtfully curated music selection. Every dish I've tried has been a testament to their culinary excellence. The food is consistently outstanding, innovative, and memorable. Even our picky friends and vegetarian family members found dishes that called to them and absolutely loved their meals. The cocktails are also expertly crafted and delicious, adding another layer to the fantastic experience. What truly sets Wright & Co. apart is the impeccable service. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enhance your dining experience, ensuring there's truly something for everyone. Wright & Co. consistently delivers an unforgettable experience, making it a place I eagerly return to.

I visited this restaurant last night, and let me tell you... I had a wonderful experience! I will definitely be back. The menu immediately made me excited because there were so many delicious options to try. I started with the cornbread. At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about it on its own, and even with just the butter it seemed okay. But once I added those peppers… wow! It all came together, and I totally understood what they were going for. The Brussels sprouts were amazing. I especially appreciated that they don’t automatically add pork. The sweet potatoes were fantastic, and one of my friends ordered the chips and absolutely raved about them. Another friend got the chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it. I also tried the crab slider, which was excellent. Honestly, I’d go back just to try three or four more things from the menu! I even ordered a non-alcoholic coffee mocktail, which was delicious and gave me the perfect pick-me-up after a long drive. The overall vibe of the place was great... warm, welcoming, and stylish without feeling pretentious. I was driving from Indianapolis to Detroit and came straight off the road wearing sweatpants and a T-shirt, and the staff was so gracious and kind. Everything about the experience made me feel comfortable and cared for. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. I can’t wait to come back!

The Monument to Joe Louis, affectionately known as "The Fist," is a striking 27-foot bronze tribute to the legendary African-American heavyweight champion who hailed from Detroit. This impressive sculpture, weighing over 8,000 pounds, stands proudly in Hart Plaza and serves as a vibrant symbol of both boxing prowess and the fight for racial equality. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the city from nearby Renaissance Tower before exploring other iconic sites like Campus Martius Park.
Passed by and took some photos here. There are quite a lot of monument, statues and arty stuff, grafiti in Detroit! Also safer than I assumed.

A must-see stop in downtown Detroit. The “Fist” is bold, powerful, and instantly recognizable as a symbol of the city’s fight and resilience. It’s right on Woodward & Jefferson, across the street from the Spirit of Detroit statue, so you can check out both in one visit. 📸 Great photo spot — day or night. 🚶‍♂️ Easy to walk up to, no cost, and well maintained. 🚗 Parking is simple if you use the nearby Ford Underground Garage (about $5 for 2 hours). Quick, memorable stop that really captures Detroit’s spirit.

The Fist represents the power and ability of all the great Detroit people. However, a black guy shouted at us “Asian welcome to America” several times. That was not “the spirit of Detroit”. That was racism. Racism should not exist at Downtown Detroit.

"The Fist" is a sculpture tribute to the great legendary boxer Joe Louis, well known as the "Brown Bomber." A gift from the Sports Illustrated magazine to the people of the City of Detroit, it was installed near Hart Plaza in 1986. The 24-foot-long bronze forearm and clenched fist is suspended from a 24-foot-high pyramidal frame and weights an amazing 8000 pounds! Joe Louis was World Heavyweight Champion from 1937 to 1949. His 1938 victory over German boxer Max Schmeling was seen as a symbolic blow to Nazi ideology. There might be other "Fist" monuments in the world. This one is the best.

While in Detroit I had to visit this art piece tribute to Joe Louis for a photo because… well, I’m a tourist and that’s what tourists do. I went late in the evening so no crowds at all. I was disappointed there was no plaque or description of this sculpture (or at least nothing I could find). Those without prior knowledge would just view this as a fist sculpture with no understanding of what/who it represents. The park south of this sculpture was closed, I think it is being renovated.

We stopped by on a whim as we drove by from visiting the new park on the river. You’d think a fabulous ramen spot wouldn’t be surrounded by concrete landscapes but it’s here! Love the vibe of this place! It was too cool for the rooftop seating but Id imagine it would be pretty fun and great views of the Ambassador Bridge. My wife had the New Seoul and I had the Tonkotsu. We did try the dumplings too. We’ve had better ramen in other downtown spots but this was real good! The waitstaff was informative and attentive. Let us know its takes 16 hours to make the broth. The dumpling were ok but still tasty. They did have other more unique ramen like corn beef & catfish that may be consumed next time. Yes, definitely will be a next time.

Michigan Central, a historic train station that first opened its doors in 1913, has undergone a remarkable transformation from abandonment to revitalization. Nestled in the heart of Corktown, this architectural gem stands as a testament to Detroit's rich history and resilience. Recently, significant investments have been made to establish the Michigan Central Innovation District around it. This initiative aims to create a vibrant hub for innovation and entrepreneurship while fostering community engagement and sustainable development.
Our family loves going here! The restoration is unbelievable, and the coffee shop has the best donuts. We visited during the auto show and then ventured into train station - 5 stars. Beautiful building that celebrates its rich history and is built for the future. Well done, Detroit 👍🏽

Beautiful architecture. Amazing restoration! Love all the photos around that shows what it looked like when it was abandoned and the things they kept for display. Ground level is mainly all that was available to explore. Some of the large open areas were blocked off to walk through on the Thursday I went.
Ilyanna B — Google review
What an amazing job the Ford family did saving the building! I highly recommend going on a guided tour but it isn’t 100% needed as you can access all but a couple of places the tour offers. I hope that one day they can get trains back to this magnificent building. If you are looking for something to do while in Detroit this is it!
Frederick J — Google review
Five stars for Michigan Central — a space that’s as much about history as it is about the future. Once an iconic but abandoned train station, it stood as a symbol of Detroit’s decline for decades. Today, after an incredible restoration, it’s been transformed into a vibrant hub for innovation, community, and culture. The architecture alone is worth the trip — historic details beautifully preserved, paired with modern spaces designed for collaboration. Beyond the visual wow factor, Michigan Central offers unique assets to both guests and the community: public gathering areas, cultural programming, tech labs, and a shared sense of pride that radiates through the building. It’s not just a renovation — it’s a rebirth, and a shining example of what happens when a city invests in preserving its past while building its future.

What an amazing restoration and revitalization project. Thank you to everyone who funded this, especially the Ford Foundation. Absolutely Beautiful Restoration! I recently did a photo shoot at the Michigan Central Station, and the experience was incredible. The building is absolutely gorgeous — beautifully redone and restored while keeping its historic character. Every detail inside and out has been brought back to life with so much care and craftsmanship. It’s amazing to see this Detroit landmark thriving again! The space is perfect not only for photography but also for events, galas, and even weddings. It’s truly a must-see location that captures both the history and the future of Detroit.

Thank you Ford for rebuilding this space in Detroit. Amazing craftsmanship. What Detroit is all built on just like all the old historic homes? This place has a elegant charm combining new with old, highly recommend. Right now the lower levels are only accessible. There is a study to kind of hang out, relax, get a drink. Located on the outskirts of William G. Milliken State Park, the Outdoor Adventure Center offers a variety of simulated outdoor activities and nature displays suitable for all ages. Visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences such as biking, climbing walls, zip lining, snowmobiling, and even journeying behind a waterfall. The center also features exhibits on forest and wildlife preservation as well as information about how the Department of Natural Resources manages state parks and wildlife.
Absolutely LOVED this place!!! My kids wore themselves out. Learning and playing and having a blast. They loved the airplane and suspension bridge. I loved the animal pelts and skulls and poop! My kids got a kick out of that. My husband beat the high score on the shooting game. The tree was a huge hit too. I was not expecting this place to be so cool. I will def return with my family and you should go too.

SO cute. The staff was super engaged and kind. The center is sweet and hands-on. It is "3 floors" but the top floor is just a minute or two to walk through and my kiddos had no interest. We have a 5.5 year old, 3 year old, and 1.5 year old. 4 stars because it was smaller than anticipated and really only took our family about 1.5 hours. The facility and staff itself was 5 stars. Parking was *seamless* and so close.

Seven years ago today was my very first visit to DNR Outdoor Adventure with my children, and it was truly a wonderful experience. We still have plenty of pictures to look back on, and the memories are priceless. It’s not just fun—it’s also a great learning experience for families and kids. I definitely recommend visiting if you’re looking for adventure, education, and quality time together in nature!

The Outdoor Adventure Center in Detroit is a true gem in the city. I encourage everyone to bring their children here. It is a wonderful place to gain a love and knowledge of nature. OAC has packed so much learning everywhere you look, and the staff are great! There are a lot of hands on activities that you can climb on and through. It's a beautiful place, full of wonder. My family and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously and I can't say enough good things about the place. Give yourself plenty of time to explore. Parking is easy and close.

Great value for a quick, unique stop with the kids - highly recommend for an hr or two. The simulations were very cool (snowmobile, 4 wheeler, kayak, fishing, etc...)

TEN OUT OF TEN!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! ❤️ Great exhibits. Family friendly. Interactive. Affordable. ... Just all around amazing! Take your kids. You won't regret it.

The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, also known as MOCAD, is a cultural gem housed in a former auto dealership. It showcases an ever-changing array of contemporary art exhibits and hosts lectures. The museum features both permanent and rotating exhibitions from leading artists across various mediums such as painting, sculpture, video, and unique installations.
Beautiful exhibits while I visited. Front desk was very nice, cafe was fun to stop by on the way out. Artists did a phenomenal job. some exhibits held a deep sadness displayed within the works. Each piece serves as a powerful vessel, capturing and preserving emotions, allowing them to be experienced by others over time. This museum makes a true impact, and i am grateful for the time I was able to spend in it while visiting Detroit.
Zach B — Google review
I cannot convey the beauty, impact, and introspection I experienced at the MOCAD. It was a school field trip. My students made screen prints, and we were all moved by the Gun Violence exhibit. This is a must-visit spot for everyone. They have a bar and several ongoing events. Make it your place to go this summer.
C. W — Google review
I’ve been to this museum maybe 3-4 times and I actually do sadly feel like it was a declining experience. While I think this museums nice, it’s in a lovely location and, I’m a big fan of the rotating exhibits, no two visits will be the same. I’m just not quite sure it’s worth the price range it packs as an avid museum goer. Something that I think would greatly improve this museum, is if they had night exhibits. Or a “late nights at the museum” premium sort of ticket exhibit. They have a bar, and I just can’t wrap my head around day drinking and studying. Overall, I think it’s a great concept and I do see the vision it just hasn’t been executed to its fullest extent.
Christian P — Google review
I went on a field trip. The event was so engaging. The art was great. There is something connected about contemporary art. Unlike museum art, it can become a permanent part of your life.
Rochelle D — Google review
If I could, I would give a zero rating. I have booked the MOCAD for my event (higher education institution) in mid-May for the event in mid-September, after hosting there for at least a couple of years. At the end of July, I had reached out to them for scheduling a meeting to go over floor plans and details for the event, and it took them a whole week to reply, where they communicated to me that due to renovation, they would have to cancel my event. Needless to say, with a month a half way from the event, this presented several challenges. In my response to them (which went unanswered), I have asked them whether this renovation had been previously scheduled, as these are usually planned years ahead, and if so, why had I been allowed to book my event, if they knew they wouldn’t be able to accommodate. It also was extremely challenging to get back the refund of the deposit originally paid (after several attempts, it was received at the end of August). I have been in the events industry for several years now (both as venue manager as a planner), and I have never dealt with so little professionalism and lack of integrity and communication. The least that the venue could have done was to go above and beyond and help me find a substitute venue, but there was very little to zero care about a lost standing client.
Martina S — Google review
Simply put, the MOCAD is an amazing museum that not enough locals or tourists know about. There is no admission fee: they take donations and have some items for sale that go towards the museum. They regularly cycle out the exhibitions, which are usually from local artists. Each one I see is masterful, and they incite commentary. I'm particularly fond of the viewing room, which always has some cool short film or exhibit that forces you to be present. The rest of the space flows nicely, allowing you to walk through each area confidently and without confusion. It's always clean (even the bathrooms) and the staff are very friendly and chill. The MOCAD Café is also a delight. You don't need to visit the museum to visit the café, as it's located directly to your right as soon as you walk in, bypassing the museum all together. The space holds plenty of tables with seats, and there are more seats at the stocked bar. The bartender, a young black guy with a great sense of style (of a name I have forgotten), was a peach. He's always friendly and quick with orders. He claimed that he was the curator of the drink menu for the winter season and let me say: he did that. I tried two drinks, and they were both outstanding. They also sell baked goods and non-alcoholic beverages like coffee and tea, and most are locally sourced. I had a slice of vegan orange cake, and it was delicious. Parking is a breeze. There's plenty of street parking, and even on busy days, the furthest you'll walk is 1-2 minutes. Visit the MOCAD and make a donation, big or small. They deserve more support from the community they already support so much.
Nikyra H — Google review
entry by donation, so please donate what you can. MOCAD was a great sunday funday stop in the D. they had 5 different exhibits by some amazing artists. Staff is super friendly. If you have time, stay for a drink on their cafe (espresso bar or full cockatil bar)

I think this museum is perfect in size, layout, and location. Big enough to house a small number of installations with an intimate feel. Its not too exhaustive so you can enjoy all art even if you visit to see one artist.

The James Scott Memorial Fountain, located on Belle Isle, is a stunning piece of architecture and sculpture. Built in 1923, it features 109 white marble water outlets shaped like turtles, lions, horns, and other artistic figures that spout water up to 40 feet high. The fountain is a popular spot for photos and offers a peaceful atmosphere for visitors to enjoy during the summer months.
I was there in the beginning of spring. So the weather was great and it was a nice place to simply bask in the sun. Noticed a lot of families taking their children graduation photos and couples having their wedding photoshoot with the fountain as the background.

On Belle Isle and an easy drive across the river. At 510 feet around and spray water 125 feet in the air, it is quite the fountain. It could use a little work but is still beautiful. A nice area with walking paths, lighthouse, museum and areas to picnic. There is a fee to enter. Read the history of the fountain and why there is a statue for James Scott.

There is some much park and beauty to enjoy here. The Fountain was so clean and the marble as well as attention to detail is beyond belief. They also host different events here from time to time and on this visit was a market and many vendors as well as food trucks. A sight you must pass by to enjoy. You have picnic areas, an conservancy, aquarium, museum, baseball field area, fishing pier and so much more… Oh and fun fact, the views also include looking over to Canada from this location which was fun.

When I was a child this fountain would be lit with beautiful lights. Now is sectioned off, dark and non accessible. It takes away from the beauty of Belle Isle not to be able to walk up and feel, see, & hear the splash of the water that comes from the fountain. I used to feel like I was visiting on vacation.

Nestled in Detroit's New Center area, the Lincoln Street Art Park is a vibrant transformation of an abandoned industrial site into a contemporary sculpture park. This hidden gem showcases an array of unique artworks crafted from recycled materials and adorned with colorful graffiti, making it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts. The park serves as a collaborative space where local artists come together with community members to celebrate creativity amidst the evolving urban landscape.
It is a very interesting installation on a side of a recycling place. Get ready to be curious either wise you may find it boring or not worthy of your time. We actually made a game out of our visit - we all photographed some closeups of the objects and then showed each other and made guesses of what the object was.

Coriander Kitchen and Farm is a charming farm-to-table destination located near the Detroit River. Situated in Detroit's canal district, this former marina-turned-restaurant offers a home-like vibe with ample outdoor seating for families to enjoy. The restaurant takes pride in its vegetable-forward dishes sourced from its own garden, providing a delightful canalside dining experience.
We came here based on a recommendation from a friend and loved it! The food was fresh, light and delicious. We started with the jalapeno corn hush puppies then shared the 7 layer dip and flat bread pizza. Amazing !! The service was excellent. Great vibes and atmosphere with lots of lush flowers and plants. We were fortunate to have canal side seating on a beautiful day.

We stopped on a Saturday for lunch. They're quite busy here and seating is limited. We sat on the patio, which was all that was available, but it was hot, hot, outside for that. We tried a few items and everything was excellent, their salads are fresh and dainty. The fish and chips were also very good. The goat cheese today was good. The server was attentive and engaging. The restaurant is eclectic and truly a neighborhood gem. Check for events before you go, they have a calendar of private parties. I'm thinking reservations are needed for prime seating. We'd visit again.
Ang G — Google review
The food and ambiance in here were awesome! Everything was fresh and tasty, and our server was friendly and had great recommendations. It is a cute spot to grab lunch, and I am excited to try more menu items next time. It’s such a fun spot!
Mateja R — Google review
First timers, and our experience was just okay. Looked the atmosphere, but the food was extra salty (check out the pictures). Salt on a sandwich bun, never heard of it! When I say every items was salty, I mean it. We wanted to send our food back but our waiter was no where to be found. So we took the bun off just so we could at least try to the falafel, and it too had salt sitting on top of it. My daughter was so hungry, so she peeled the crust off the hush puppies, only to be told by the waiter that she couldn’t take the meal back because she had eaten it already. I love supporting small businesses, so I will try this place again with an item that’s not loaded with salt!

What a GEM! Beautiful location by the canal. Delicious food and excellent cocktails. Got 2 different cocktails, and both were delish. We got a kale caesar salad, thai chicken (like lettuce wraps), and white fish - all were excellent. Beautiful decor. Unique spot along the water. A must go! Highly recommend, will be back! There is apparently a nearby kayak place where you can rent kayaks, which I'd love to do next time. You can walk to the local park and see the Canadian Islands and a beautiful view of the Detroit cityscape.

Decent experience at coriander! Service and food was hit or miss. Our waitress was great, but the hostesses were a bit snarky. The hush puppies are a must. The marrow burger is delish!! My heirloom tomato and burrata salad came with cherry tomatoes instead of heirlooms… the carrot tacos were surprisingly very bland. The turnip salad is SO good and the best thing we had.

I don't even know where to begin with all the fails, but the biggest problem with the manager not addressing the real issue of compensating us for all that we went through. First of all, it took us 15 minutes for the waiter to bring us menus that he disappeared and he was supposed to bring a beer to one of our people and he said that the bar was backed up but a table that sat down behind us had their drinks. We were there an hour and a half before half of the dinners showed up. Their food was cold Then we waited another 15 minutes for the rest of the dinners that never came we then asked for a manager and it took him another 15 minutes to show up, then blamed it on some button that said don't make these dinners which did not make any sense whatsoever, he said he would take care of us but it wasn't another 15 minutes before our dinners came cold and then when we asked our waiter if these two meals would be comped he disappeared for another 15 minutes and came back and said no and then I said I did not want this meal on my bill. It was either going to be comped or I don't want it and take it off the bill. instead of appeasing us for all the hassle that we were given. They took the food away to throw out instead of comping my meal. He gave us a discount off the bill that we probably could have found a coupon for. He did not make the customer feel good about our experience there. The manager did nothing to alleviate everything that went on. The server had not been there very long but he disappeared and did not give us any explanation of why our night went the way it went.
Elizabeth S — Google review
Waitress/bartender was absurdity rude but the waiter who actually brought us our food was the nicest person working there out of 3 workers we talked to and he said he was new. There was a band playing, it was way too loud. I was sitting at the bar and couldn't hear the person next to me. Although they sounded good, too loud for a small space. The salad had bad lettuce and tomatoes, and the kabob was dry despite the dressing it came with. The best thing was the drinks, and the salmon but that's it. Pretty disappointing because the inside of the restaurant is beautiful with great views. After coming here and then reading the reviews, I'm not the only one who had rude workers who don't care about their customers.
Maddie K — Google review
My family had dinner on Saturday night. Kevin was our server. Everything was excellent. Kevin did an excellent job our food came out super fast, hot and deliciously. The atmosphere was great, band was enjoyable, not too loud. We had the Grilled Octopus, WM Burger, Chicken Alfredo, and the spicy sandwich! All great. Lemon rice soup was perfect. Will definitely be back soon. Pistachio gelato desert was great too!👍👍☺️
Eleanor D — Google review
Waitress was awesome! Atmosphere was great outside of constant flies and bugs flying in our drinks and water. Definitely didn’t know there was going to be a $5-6 difference paying with a card compared to cash. Wish that would’ve been stated. I’ve been wanting to come here for a very long time but I have no desire to go back. The food was bland as ll get out. I ordered lamb chops, they almost tasted boiled with no seasoning. The drinks, don’t even get me started. My mom isn’t a drinker by no means and she even thought we ordered a mocktail and not a cocktail. It was her bday and I feel like I blew it going there. That was the most lackluster food and drinks I’ve had in a very long time for $160

Paulina was our server, from start to finish we were impressed with her smile and knowledge of the menu. We ordered drinks the number 9 and 7, both were delicious. The cheeseburger egg rolls were hot, fresh and delicious. Pauline suggested the chicken kebab, they did not disappoint, they came out on a tower and were moist and flavorful. Last but not least we had a slice of chocolate cake with raspberry drizzle and vanilla ice cream. The cake was moist. We can't wait to come back. The portions are shareable, we were able to bring home a doggie bag.

Nestled on the 16th floor of the chic MotorCity Casino Hotel, Iridescence is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its stunning 40-foot-high windows, this upscale restaurant offers breathtaking views of Detroit's skyline, making it an ideal spot for romantic dinners or special celebrations. We made our reservations online. By reading other reviews we found out that we can pick our waiter. We asked for Helios based on a number of outstanding reviews and he did not disappoint. We were seated promptly. Food was served without delay and it was delicious. This restaurant is beautiful and our experience here was superb.
Jolita S — Google review
The restaurant is located inside Motor City Casino on the 16th floor. The atmosphere and ambiance is carefully orchestrated, exuding luxury and class. If you are lucky enough to get a window seat you will enjoy one of the nicest views that Metro Detroit has to offer. The waiting staff is phenomenal, they frequently check on the table topping off water, and their recommendations are catered to the customers restrictions and preferences. I personally requested meals with no alcohol or pork and our waitress was wonderful in suggesting entrees. With that being said the one big downside is the food. It looks wonderful when brought out but the flavor was absent. I ordered the Half Ribs entree which was 70% fat and was lacking seasoning of any sort. My wife ordered the halibut which itself tasted flaky and moist, however the broth tasted like just tomato and water. The reason for the 3 star review is because the meal costed $155 and I expected a meal that tasted like the price. I was utterly disappointed by what I tasted. The price did not justify what we received.

I have been here a handful of times and each and every time they have outdone themselves. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Detroit. Service, food, and ambience is 10/10. One of the guest in my party has a gluten intolerance and they brought her gluten free bread and her own oil so she doesn't have to share oil with all the gluten eaters. Then for dessert, they made her a dessert that was not on the menu because she couldn't have anything due to her allergies. Our table ordered the Frito Miso, cheese plater, lamb belly ragu, Ribeye, and a couple of desserts. The ribeye is one of the best steaks I have had in Detroit. I would highly recommend Iridescence.

Love coming here and having the Kaiseki w/ wine pairing. If you have the time and the open mind about food you must give it a try... once you have it you will only want to order it again on the next visit. The chef is very accommodating to likes and dislikes so make sure to tell them ahead of time! Great atmosphere and service.

The views were amazing, the ambiance was great, the bread they give you to start tasted so dang good! Why the 1 star, you ask? Because I found a HAIR in my food. The server tried to blame my sister and I for it. The hair was blonde.....we have very dark hair. No blonde in sight. But our server was blonde....yup. Anyways, she didn't seem to care that we had hair in our food. She remade the order, which was nice. Their bathrooms are nice. That's all.

First time here- incredibly romantic and elegant. I came here, as a gift to my twin, to celebrate our 19th birthday. Booking the reservation was fast and easy, which I wasn't expecting. We ordered and split a cheese plate appetizer, which was incredibly delicious. Next, we both had the Ora King Salmon, which was lightly smoked and came with sweet potato brûlèe, and marinated kale as sides. The dishes were portioned well, and it was absolutely splendid. The manager(?) approached us and asked how we were and told us that dish was new, having only been there for 2 months. Kudos to the chef for a job well done! For desert, the resturant gave us complimentary desert, and I cannot recall the name of it. In the image, it was melting, but it came as a sphere of dark chocolate with hot caramel poured over it. A small chocolate cake, with raspberries, was inside. Again, this dish tasted amazing. Our water glasses were never empty, and the water was poured straight from Fiji water bottles (which I have never seen before). Our waitress was incredible, and I cannot recall her name for the life of me, but she was a slightly older woman, natural hair braids, glasses, and was an absolute sweet heart. She cleaned our table, even after I insisted that I should, was patient, soft spoken, and lovely. Very professional, honestly. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a romantic spot, or even for a classy place to take a loved one out to. Will totally come back again, thank you for showing us a good time, on our first time!

Great place! Visited with my sisters for a fun night out and this place was the perfect energy. Comfortable, casual, welcoming, clean, quick service. Our server Deontae was fantastic and served us incredibly well! 5 stars just for Deontae alone and then our food was great. Waitress was nice but it was burning hot in there, couldn’t open patio curtains but just a little crack. No fans. Was told 20% gratuity but it was really 25%. My catfish was gummy. My son full size pasta was less than one would receive for a lunch portion. My mom received raw wings, not once but twice, just asked for them to be taken off the bill after the second time. Greens weren’t cooked all the way and not chopped or cleaned

Had a quick trip and this was by far one of the most amazing places I’ve been to. From the moment I walked in, Precious set the bar for what true customer service should feel like. The way she greeted me instantly made me feel at home and comfortable. She goes above and beyond with her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail — qualities you can’t teach. It’s rare to meet someone who not only does their job well but truly elevates the entire experience. Precious is a real asset to this business, and her level of care is exactly why I’ll be coming back.

This place is incredible and I recommend the lamb chops or shrimp and grits. The service was professional but not stiff. The music was Detroit, air conditioning, and people watching all support me returning the next time I visit my old neighborhood.
Marcus E — Google review
The fact that they charge mandatory tips for carry outs is quite scam like. Then they take your change and act like you inconveniencing them when you ask for it. Then the furniture is quite washed up to be having such extreme prices and poor attitudes.

Good music. Everyone was nice. I didn't try the food. (Yet) Great drinks 🍸

Stopped here after dinner. It was free before 11:00 pm. The DJ was spinning and mixing with some nice house music, that was off the chain. The lounge set up along the wall, with the dance floor in the middle along with the open roof top, made for an amazing party vibe and dance atmosphere. Come with your dancing shoe.

Great music! Everyone was very nice. I didn't try the food. (Yet) definitely will be back. Good drinks 🍸 😋 😌

Amazing food! You get a cool place to see Detroit and feel like a VIP at the same time. Rooftop music, light shows on the building, good friends and private rooms for groups. Recommend all day.
Jose R — Google review
Claim they are part of a pub crawl event and then they reject people at the door because it's a private event and you have to pay more. Sounds pretty pompous. I went back after the reply and you know what they said? The girl cashier from Chicago and the blonde dude with the accent. Maybe this isn't the place for you! They are right. Shame because the DJs were dope. If they only followed through with what they were representing.

If you want get sexually harassed. Look no further this is the place as I was leaving this guy smack my butt and the security was standing right there and didn’t do anything do not go here
Hailey D — Google review
Went there for a garba, it was no garba just a dance floor with a dj with limited space. If I knew it was not a garba I would of not even booked a ticket there. Who ever sponsored it made false advertisement for a Garba. Won't ever go back there again unless I wanted to get drunk.

I have plenty of years of experience partying on the Florida coastline and dancing to Caribbean Spanish music. This event in Detroit on Friday nights is BOSS'MATIC. Keep up the good work. My investors had a wonderful time. Stay BOSS'MATIC.

As a Mexican in Detroit I’m always excited to find places that offer Latin nights. I saw that 3fifty terrace had one and I had to be there. This is my 3rd time here and the 3 times I’ve been here this place hasn’t failed to show me the most trash Latin music I’ve ever heard in my life. I don’t know where they get this music from but it’s absolutely horrendous. One goes out hoping to be dancing to some Bad bunny, some J balvin, one hopes to be shaking ass all night but instead I’m met with the most absurd and disgusting mixes I’ve ever witness in my life. This is not for Latinos, this is trash fake Latin music. I hope next summer this is actually catered to latinos. Please do better.

View is really nice. Depends on who's hosting the party I guess, if you're gonna have a nice time. Those stairs are ridiculous!

Probably one of the worst bars I've been in when it comes to service And the staff members two of the staff members play rock-paper-scissors over my friends unconscious body and the level of rudeness and immaturity was disgusting and that is my personal opinion on the matter there was a lot of other things that happened when I tended this bar I do not recommend going here I felt very unsafe
Siren E — Google review
Attended this nightclub for my brothers birthday. We got a booth. Extremely small booth. $1000 includes only 1 bottle of alcohol. We ordered 2 CANS of red bull , server brought us a bill totaling $45.00. For two regular sized cans of Red Bull. Overpriced and overhyped , please do yourself a favor and stay away from this overpriced and small venue. Not even in Las Vegas nightclubs are the prices this high , and such a small environment.

Safety concerns!!! I don't believe this is a safe place. I tried to alert security about a severely intoxicated young woman that was being nearly carried out the door by two gentlemen that were clearly not intoxicated and did not know her. At the same time there was a young girl waiting in the restroom to walk out with the bathroom attendant because she stated she felt unsafe, It was the same gentleman that we're making her uncomfortable. I tried to alert security three times, asking them to stop her from leaving with these men so we could get her a safe ride home. Security told us that it was not their responsibility, and that they were busy with other things. We tried to find her outside but she was gone. It is absolutely a bar's responsibility to not to overserve and for security to keep not only the employees but the patrons safe . I also caution anyone showing up here in high heels. Many of the tiles on the upper deck are not secured and it's hard to see certain walking paths, One of the ladies in our group rolled her ankle on an unsecured tile. If I could give it zero stars I would! No concern for customer safety, overpriced drinks, rude staff and filthy bathrooms
