Beach
Nestled on the south side of St. Thomas, Secret Harbor Beach is a top snorkeling spot suitable for all skill levels, especially beginners. The calm and protected waters are teeming with diverse marine life and vibrant corals on both sides of the bay. This picturesque beach, part of the Secret Harbor Beach Resort, boasts light pink sand and tranquil waters ideal for families and couples.
Amazing beach for snorkeling!!! A bunch of different fish, plus local sting rays, and octopuses!!! So fun! Water is super clear!

This beach is absolutely gorgeous. The water is so tranquil. We came on Memorial Day weekend on a Saturday and there was less than 15 people on the beach. We found a shaded spot near the trees and enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful day. We went snorkeling and saw lots and lots of fish as well as a string ray. Make sure to go around the bend into the next harbor - there is a small reef there. The restaurant they have here is nice and the prices honestly aren’t terrible. There is a dive shop here on the beach that does diving as well as has lots of items for the beach. They also rent chairs, umbrellas and snorkel gear at the dive shop. I highly highly recommend if you’re looking for a Beautiful beach with very little crowds.
Rebekah D — Google review
Nice beach, clear waters. Great for snorkeling. Would recommend some water footwear as it's rather rocky once you head in a little. It is located inside the secret harbor resort and parking can be very tricky. There are a handful spots for parking right in the front of the entrance but if you don't find anything there, just keep driving up ahead where it seems like a dead end and make a left, there are more parking spots up there. If that's full, you can try parking on the road before you enter the resort premises. And also the sunset here is beautiful!
Dhawal U — Google review
This has been our favorite beach so far! It was a white sand beach, no need for water shoes. Snorkeling is amazing even just a couple feet out. We saw a barracuda, conch shells, stingray, turtle, puffer fish, and a huge assortment of tropical fish. There is a restaurant on site which was delicious. I highly recommend the Cuban sandwich. The pepperoni pizza was pretty good too. We rented snorkel gear in beach chairs.
Nicole M — Google review
One of the best beaches and places to stay. We have stayed there a few times. Beautiful location and area. Accommodations are very good. Privately owned condo's which are managed by a resort company. Each one we have stayed in were updated with nice kitchen units and reasonable furniture. Location is near Red Hook with additional restaurants , groceries and ferry to St. Johns or the British V.I. A bit of a ride from Charlotte Amile but a short ride to local shopping
Guy M — Google review
Overall, it’s a nice small beach that’s free when you come with your own chairs, food, drinks, etc… You do have to park quite far up a hill, but it’s free:) It’s worth a visit to see different beaches. This was highly recommended due to the low number of people, unfortunately it’s not a “secret” and it was very clear when the cruise ship people showed up and we were surrounded by noisy people. Also, boats come in quite close to the shore and that was odd with a bay full of people.
Kathy P — Google review
Best beach on St. Thomas. Public beach parking usually full. Proceed to local guy in lawn chair. He will find you a spot!
Alex M — Google review
Came here from Royal Caribbean Cruise Port via taxi. The taxi cost $17 per person each way. Access to the beach is free and there are several areas with tree cover to relax in the shade. There are some beach chairs and umbrellas set out on the beach; however, they are for the hotel guest only. There is a dive shop where you can rent chairs if you want them. I'd suggest bringing beach towels to lay out on instead of hou want to save some money. We are here on a Thursday and it is not crowded at all. We bring our own snorkel gear and saw several sea turtles, lots of different typed of small fish and a large barracuda. There is also a restaurant called "The Patio at Sunset Grille" on the beach (I will post menu pictures on Google)

Sapphire Beach is a serene and inviting destination located on the northeastern coast of St. Thomas. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with palm trees providing shade and an expansive stretch of white sand. The beach is popular among cruise ship passengers, families, and adventure seekers due to its range of water activities such as snorkeling. Visitors can also enjoy amenities like snorkel gear and beach chair rentals, as well as a beach bar for refreshments.
One of the best Beach in the world! The water is warm, calm sand There is a bathroom and restaurant and bars Chairs rental is $15 per each, but is a threes with shade

Pretty beach, close to our rental but loud as hell. Don't know why they need to blast the music to a deafening level but everyone else seems to love going to the beach same having to scream talk to each other. But it is pretty. The water is super clear and there's tons of amenities around there
Jeremy — Google review
I visited Sapphire Beach for the first time in May 2025 and it has gorgeous views of the ocean and mountains, clear water, and is located near restaurants that serve really good food, drinks, and has a calming atmosphere!! The music they play was great to me as well. You can bring your own towels or chairs, or you can rent lounge chairs and cabanas. This beach does have rocks in the sand so be careful, but have fun! I will definitely come back here when I'm in St. Thomas!
Bree W — Google review
One of our favorite beaches!! We got married here in 2020, and continue to come back every year. Crystal blue water, beautiful white sand, and excellent snorkeling over the corals. The beach bar also has great burgers and tacos. Sapphire beach is must when visiting St. Thomas.
Brooke L — Google review
Lots of crowds but amazing snorkeling to the right and left of the cove. Anything close to shore is dead from everyone stepping on the coral unfortunately but if you go out far enough it is amazing. Coral gardens and lots of fish. Come early in the day to see sea turtles feeding on the left side of the beach. Also saw an Spotted Eagle Ray! Good water visibility.
Bryan H — Google review
First time my GF and I had been there, but the beach was absolutely beautiful. Probably considered a medium size beach (by me anyway), nice white sand and super clear water. Chairs can be rented. We did visit one of the shops and use the restroom. Has a nice point near the rocks also for more picture opportunities.
Paul S — Google review
Lots of sea "plants" on beach, in ocean here. Some spots of beautiful water can be found though. Lots of people as public and condo populations are present and it's a narrow beach. Food and bar here. Found it difficult to find the public parking location. 4ish minute walk from lot.
Marcus L — Google review
Cruise excursion crowded area, beach had some lounge chairs and snorkels for use. Most of the corals has been stepped on and sparse sea life remains center of beach.

Magens Bay Beach is a renowned destination, consistently ranked among the world's best beaches. Its expansive white sands and clear aquamarine waters are complemented by a backdrop of lush greenery, creating an idyllic setting for various water activities like swimming, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. The beach also features amenities such as concessions, equipment rentals, lifeguards, picnic areas, and a nature trail through coconut groves.
Heaven on earth. Most beautiful place ever. So clean. Great parking. Great food. So relaxing. You can rent just about any water activity. Paddle boarding, chairs, snorkeling. Seen so many turtles, stingray, so many colorful fish and sharks. Seriously heaven on earth. With sand sent from a higher power for sure.
Rebecca B — Google review
Beautiful beads, clean ,water is calm, not too deep. Changing Rooms clean bars, you can rent chairs but the food is a little pricey entrance fee is also pricey $7 per person for none residence and you’re not allowed to leave and returned same day, you have to pay every time you return.
Out O — Google review
It depends on what you are looking for. If you want nasty water, tons of boats, big crowd, and trashy beaches, this place sucks. But if you want a beautiful beach with clear water, peace, and a place for the family, Magens beach is amazing!!
Charles H — Google review
Beautiful beach, water is so clear ,ez to get to.U have to pay to enter ,for 3 of us little over $20.There is a souvenir shop, pizza and sandwich shop. This may be the most beautiful beach at Saint Thomas.I was only at 3 of Saint Thomas beaches.
Bill S — Google review
Magens Bay Beach is absolutely beautiful. We were there during off season so it wasn't very crowded which made both parking and finding a great spot on beach to drop our stuff easy. Definitely park or head way down to the left on the beach away from the restaurant. That first area is where all the cruise ship people get dropped off and stay and that gets crowded fast. Water and sand are perfect and lots of sea turtles eating sea grass if you snorkel out towards the markers
KJ E — Google review
Water was cool and clear and teaming with fish and other water animals. Beach was beautiful and well maintained with fine white sand. There is a bar and food options on the beach. Also you can rent all kinds of beach equipment including chairs, masks, water floats, etc. It also has a place to rinse off and change before leaving the beach. It was a little crowded with 3 cruise ships in port but that wasn't that bad as the beach is very long. Highly recommended for a dip for a few hours.
Patrick T — Google review
This is one of our favorite beaches in St. Thomas. It has a beautiful white sand beach that is spacious enough to provide seating for large crowds, along with crystal blue waters. We usually attend on days when cruise ships are not in, which makes it nice and peaceful without crowds. The shallow sandy beach does not require water shoes, as there are few rocks or coral in the wading areas. They have public bathrooms, a gift shop, and a place to get drinks and food. We had plenty of space to lay towels out in the shade of the nearby trees, but they also provide seats and umbrellas for a charge. Also, there is a charge for adults visiting the beach plus they charge for parking. I think our party of 5 with parking was around $40. For those who think the snorkeling is not great, I think they may have missed where the action is. I’d recommend walking to the end of the beach on the northern part and swim along the rocky coastline to see some great aquatic life. The south rocky coastline also has good snorkeling. The sandy beaches make the visibility not the best at times, but we saw some turtles and a good variety of fish. Definitely worth the visit next time you’re in St. Thomas!
Mike M — Google review
Costs around 30 dollars for a group of 4 to get in, and there's sewage runoff that goes directly into the area you swim (you can actually watch the brown water dispense into the clearer water) on the other hand, when there's not actual human feces being dispensed into the water the beach is very clear and nice. The food is also good.

Lindquist Beach, located within a protected 21-acre park, is a picturesque public beach offering a range of amenities. Visitors can enjoy the soft white sands and calm aquamarine waters, with lifeguards on duty for safety. The beach also features picnic tables, bathrooms, and shady spots provided by coconut groves and grape trees. Its stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and neighboring islands make it a popular spot for weddings and commercials.
This was a great beach to finish our trip on. Breathtaking colors and views. The water was a little bit less calm than others, but not crazy. Good for families. It has picnic tables, bathrooms, and showers. Paid access. $30 for a car and 4 adults.
G B — Google review
The beach is beautiful, but there was a lot of seaweed at the west end of the beach. The park was clean going to the beach and they sweep it up as quickly as we seaweed accumulated. Also be aware of iguana, jumping out the trees. Take your own snacks, water no food available on the beach. There is an entry fee.
Out O — Google review
This beach was $16 to enter for two people. You're allowed to drive down to put your stuff at the table or on the sand but you have to bring your car back up. So the walk is a little ways down on sharp pebbles so bring shoes. Otherwise, the sand and the beach is amazing. The views were great as well. I found some sea glass and it is mostly broken coral when you're snorkeling. They have picnic tables and a nice shower area with restrooms. There's some nice trees there. You can sit under the shade if you don't want to be in the direct sunlight as well.
Caitlin C — Google review
This was a last minute decision to stop at this beach as we stayed on Sapphire beach, but it was definitely worth it. The water is crystal clear and we saw plenty of fish and stingrays. It's not crowded and there are facilities on site with bathrooms and showers. A short walk down the beach and you can see some rock/coral areas.
Zach A — Google review
We’ve been to St. Thomas numerous times over the past few decade and a half, but this was our visit to this beach. It’s a very nice, natural beach without all the crowds and locals preying on tourists. We paid under $40 for parking and beach fees for 5 adults (adults are anyone over 13 years of age), which is reasonable. The beach is part of a nature preserve, which keeps the beach looking great and well maintained. They have you pay at the front gate, then you can drive up to the beach, drop off your gear, then park back by the gate and walk 2 minutes back to the beach. The beach is narrow, but it’s long and has nice shade from the mangrove trees. Probably the only complaint I’d have is that there was a lot of dead sea grass/vegetation in the water and on the beach. The dark spots in the water of our photos were clumps of grass. Workers were raking the beaches earlier in the day to clear the beaches, and it wasn’t a distraction. But the grass was pretty heavy the day we were there. We didn’t go too far from the along the beach for snorkeling, but the sandy beaches and heavy sea grass were not ideal for underwater visibility. I’d suggest walking to the east end of the beach closer to the rocky point if you want to snorkel. We didn’t visit any of the food or drink establishments, but I believe they had some options available later in the afternoon (after 2pm?). They also offered chairs and umbrellas for sale, but we were fine with the natural shade. We saw quite a few chickens and a few iguanas, which was entertaining. Most of the people on the beach were families. The water and waves were pretty tame, but the waves are slightly more than a lot of other St. Thomas beaches, but nothing to discourage families. There was a lifeguard on duty for part of the afternoon. Also, there were bathrooms and showers on the premises, which is a plus. Glad we checked out this old school gem of a Carribean beach.
Mike M — Google review
nice beach, we were told this was a great place to snorkle and particularly see lots of turtles. I understand that every day is different when snorkling, but there was nothing to see. I hope we just visited at the wrong time of the year, this would have been a great place to spend a day exploring
Gary H — Google review
One of the best beaches I've ever been to. Turquoise water like you've never seen. Not too crowded. Beach chairs for rent. Incredible snorkeling. Very clean bathrooms. I might have to move to STT based on this beach.
Michael W — Google review
Head to Lindquist Beach early! This stunning, less-crowded gem is part of Smith Bay Park and offers powdery white sand, calm turquoise water, and picture-perfect views of St. John and the BVIs. Arrive before 10 AM to snag a shady spot under the sea grape trees and enjoy the peaceful vibe before more visitors arrive. Bring a picnic, as amenities are limited—but there are clean restrooms and lifeguards on duty. Ideal for couples, families, and anyone seeking that “postcard” Caribbean beach day without the crowds.

Coki Beach is a stunning white-sand beach with crystal-clear aqua water, perfect for snorkeling. Visitors can rent chairs and umbrellas while enjoying refreshments from nearby stands. The beach offers breathtaking views of St John USVI, the BVIs, Water Bay, Lindquist Beach, and more.
We wanted a great place to snorkel and this is what was recommended by locals. My son and I travelled by taxi from the cruise port to Coki Beach and we saw lots of fish but no turtles. Overall it was a great way to spend our time in St Tomas USVI.
Jeremy H — Google review
The beach is small compared to other beaches in St. Thomas. It is a walking distance from Margaritaville. They offer 7.00 per chair and umbrella from 10-30, depending on how big the umbrella is. They sell fish food that you can use to feed the fish. The fish are so used to people and they swim around your legs. You'll see different sizes of fish and colors. It was an easy swim. there was no need to use fins when snorkeling. When we went, they had no rinsing station. They have the sign, but no water and bathrooms were locked. That is something you need to consider if you go to Coki Beach. It can feel crowded because of the size of the beach. Be mindful of your belongings. Use waterproof belt bags to carry your cellphone, credit card, and cash to avoid any issues. We left our towels and slippers on the beach, and we didn't have any issues.
Jo Y — Google review
I had an absolutely amazing time at the beach! Huge shout out to the fellas who made the day unforgettable! As soon as I arrived, I treated myself to a refreshing pineapple drink from a beach vendor—it was so good I wish I could've snagged another! The atmosphere was lively, with plenty of shops, a convenient restroom, and food being offered by friendly folks walking around with menus. I even spotted some mouthwatering oxtails on the list! I noticed a few local men on the beach who were tapping the tops of the umbrellas and offering rides, which gave me a funny vibe and made me think “Time to pack it up!” But honestly, the overall beach experience was delightful. It seemed like smoking was allowed, which added to the relaxed vibe. All in all, it was a fantastic day soaking up the sun!
Ashleigh ( — Google review
Love it there, will be back. The food, the atmosphere, and the water was beautiful. The snorkeling was awesome, it was like being in aquarium, snorkel by the rocks right side you won't be disappointed. Parking 5 all day, two lounge chairs and umbrella for 30, small problem they start packing up at 5pm. This was really my most favorite part of the island.
Jmy J — Google review
Coki Beach is an experience. That’s all I can say. Gets very crowded. Snorkeling is amazing. Several food and drink options. Chair and umbrella rentals. You have to go once if you’re in St Thomas.
Pat B — Google review
Took my kids here (5 & 7) to relax and snorkel for the day. Overall it was very pretty, lots of little fish, some coral if you swim farther out. Didn’t have a great experience with the locals. Always felt pressured to tip, then was yelled at when we didn’t. To be fair, she demanded a tip when we parked near coral world ocean park even though it was free parking. If you don’t mind that, then it’s a great spot to hang for the day!
Meagan B — Google review
Our favorite beach 🏖️ on the island!! So cool. Beautiful.

Great water clarity and snorkeling A little crowded not a place for kids Locals selling food and drinks didn’t bother me pretty common if you’ve been to any other Caribbean island. Tips Go early before 12 or around cruise ship times for more of a chill vibe Pack food, drinks&chairs to save money

Brewers Bay Beach, nestled within the lively surroundings of St. Thomas, offers a serene escape on the University of the Virgin Islands campus. This hidden gem is renowned for its tranquil waters and abundant marine life, particularly sea turtles and stingrays. Unlike crowded tourist beaches, Brewers Bay provides a peaceful haven for both experienced and novice snorkelers to explore the vibrant ocean ecosystem.
Street parking. Lots of seagrasses in the water. There's a mix of warm and cold current. Unfortunately we were not able to see any sea turtles during our visit. It's nice to have a clean restroom and outdoor shower area. Lots of trees for shade and hanging your hammock. Across the street, we were able to try salted fish and beef pates. The chicken pate was sold out, it was highly recommended by another guest. We liked the pates here compared to the one we tried in Red hook.

Absolutely loved Brewers Bay Beach! Crystal-clear water, soft sand, and a calm, relaxed vibe without the crowds. It feels like a hidden gem that mostly locals know about. Perfect spot to swim, snorkel, and just enjoy the beauty of St. Thomas.

Brewers Bay beach is one of my favorite beaches in St Thomas. Usually not a lot of people or cruisers. Sea turtles all over eating the vegetation just off beach. O saw many cool fish and an 🐙 you're staying on island definitely go, if porting for a part of the day, I would recommend Coki beach over Brewers bay as it's far from port.
Todd D — Google review
A nice beach, but the beach itself is nothing special. Sand quality is ok, but lots of vegetation and shells/coral. Water was nice and calm and shallow, good spot for kids. Snorkelling was great if you want sea turtles. We went out twice and saw 4-6 turtles both times! Otherwise it's mediocre for fish and coral. Free and easy and parking though.
Andrew P — Google review
Got to Brewers Beach around 8 am. Plenty of street parking. No fee. So much space to spread out either in sun or shade. The water was a little cloudy but we saw more than a dozen turtles while snorkeling. We could also see them coming to the surface really close to shore. Beach had a good many shelf and rocks but overall it was an amazing experience.

Located on the south central portion of St. Thomas, Brewers Bay is a quiet and secluded beach with white sand and occasional sea grape trees. It is a favorite spot for locals and students from the nearby University of Virgin Island campus.

Had a good few hours snorkeling at this spot! Wasn’t windy, had no currents or anything alarming pop up. Did start raining after we left. We got there by car - easy to find (well marked beach) right by the airport and University. Even the water was a little cloudy we were able to spot the turtles right away! Wonderful to watch them and the myriad of fishes along the coral reef to the right of the beach. The beach itself isn’t sandy. Has a lot of pebbles and rocks. We had booties on so no problems in getting to the water. Laying out was slightly uncomfortable but there are some spots of sand.

Brewers Bay: My Enchanting Encounter with Sea Turtles Introduction: Nestled on the picturesque island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, Brewers Bay is a hidden gem that offers a myriad of natural wonders. During my recent visit to this breathtaking bay, I had the privilege of snorkeling and witnessing the majestic sea turtles in their natural habitat. This unforgettable experience not only allowed me to appreciate the beauty of these magnificent creatures but also deepened my understanding of the importance of marine conservation. As I dipped my toes into the crystal-clear waters of Brewers Bay, I was immediately captivated by the vibrant hues of blue that stretched out before me. The bay's calm and inviting waters beckoned me to explore its hidden treasures. Equipped with my snorkeling gear, I eagerly ventured into the depths, ready to embark on an adventure that would forever leave an indelible mark on my soul. As I submerged myself into the underwater world, a sense of tranquility washed over me. The gentle sway of the sea grass and the rhythmic ebb and flow of the currents created a serene ambiance. It was in this peaceful setting that I first caught sight of a sea turtle gracefully gliding through the water. Its elegant movements and the way it effortlessly navigated its surroundings left me in awe of nature's wonders. The sea turtle's majestic presence seemed to command respect from all who encountered it. Its shell, adorned with intricate patterns, showcased the resilience and beauty of these ancient creatures. As I observed the sea turtle up close, I marveled at its size and the wisdom that seemed to emanate from its eyes. It was as if the turtle held the secrets of the ocean within its gaze, inviting me to delve deeper into its world. Snorkeling alongside these magnificent creatures allowed me to witness their natural behaviors. I watched in fascination as they gracefully swam, their flippers propelling them effortlessly through the water. The turtles' ability to hold their breath for extended periods of time amazed me, as they gracefully emerged from the depths to take a quick breath before descending once again. It was a dance of survival and adaptation, a testament to the resilience of these remarkable creatures. Beyond the sheer beauty of the sea turtles, my encounter with them also served as a poignant reminder of the importance of marine conservation. These gentle giants face numerous threats, including habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change. Witnessing them in their natural

Great snorkel spot to avoid the crowds! Follow the right side of the bay towards Black Point to see lots of coral & fish. Just be careful it gets quite choppy and the current can get intense as you get closer to Black Point. Much of the coral is very shallow along this area. Also it covers an expansive area along the shore. Don't expect to find a place to stand up once you get into the coral. If you feel you'll need to stand, stick to the outside edges of the coral where it's sandy nearby. Turtles and small rays hang in the sandy and seagrass areas just off shore between the beach and the boats. The visibility here was excellent in part due to the massive sandy areas as a great backdrop for turtles and rays. The best snorkel close to downtown and right near the airport. 10 min safari ride + 10 min walk from Frenchtown. To get to the bay by Safari bus, get off at the university and head up the hill. The beach is just on the other side of the hill and is free to enter.

Coki Point Beach is a small and charming beach known for its calm, clear waters and rocky reef area, making it a popular spot for snorkeling. The beach offers various facilities such as snorkel gear and dive rentals, a beach bar, restrooms, umbrella and chair rentals, as well as a playground for kids. However, parking is limited and comes at a cost of $5. It's important to note that the beach can get crowded when cruise ships are in port.
Great snorkeling. Spent the whole day there. We rented 2 chairs & umbrella for 29 dollars. Ate breakfast at Cafe by coral reef, it was delicious. We relaxed and swam all day. The locals are friendly, helpful and kind.

We did a day trip, from the cruiser. Taxi was about 15 usd per person each direction. The beach is nice… however, full of people trying to sell you drugs like cookies and weed. While snorkelling (near the rocks on the left side of the beach), we saw a lot of small fish.

Coki Point Beach is absolutely stunning—crystal-clear waters, vibrant energy, and an unforgettable beach experience. We had an amazing time once we arrived, and Buddy’s food was delicious (see photos!). However, getting there was another story. We took a taxi where the driver insisted on playing a radical podcast filled with profanity. When I asked him to change it because my children were in the car, he became defensive and launched into a rant about how curse words “aren’t really curse words anymore.” It was uncomfortable, to say the least. I wish I remembered the company name—I definitely wouldn’t recommend that ride. Also, just a heads-up: while the beach itself is incredible, be mindful of people approaching you trying to sell drugs. Despite those hiccups, the beach itself was truly out of this world and worth the visit. Oh and watch out for the lizards they were harmless but very present on the beach.

I personally loved Coki beach. We got there at around 11am and stayed till 3pm. Parking is tight but get there early and you can park on the side. Umbrellas are $10 and chairs are $7 each but it's free if you bring your own stuff. It is a 420 friendly beach so maybe not so much for kids but the snorkel here is great for beginners to advanced alike. The water is calm and the visibility is pretty decent. Saw an octopus and the visibility

Best beach on the island! We thought Mountain Top had the best banana daiquiris, no, Maria at Catch of The Day (the bar in the back) made the best banana daiquiris on the island! Thank you Maria for you talents and hospitality 🍻 Jacqueline, I love you, thank you for the wonderful vacation to St Thomas ❤️🏝️🦈😎

Very beautiful beach! The water is crystal clear!! The only down side is the parking. We found a spot eventually but it was pretty packed! The beach is covered in chairs and umbrellas! You had to duck under them to get to the water! Right when you step on the beach locals are selling things. We saw a tent with jewelry and some dresses, a stand selling coconuts, plenty of places to get food and drinks and some of them were cash only! We rented two chairs and an umbrella from one of the men on the beach for $25! Not bad at all! We found plenty of sea glass! We love collecting it and it’s been the only beach with it so far! Very nice water but very crowded! Most of the photos I took were taken all the way down the beach to the left! The first photo is what it looks like on the right side! Tons of people and little to no room to bring your own chair or lay a towel down! Personally, I love secluded beaches but the water was magnificent!

This was our first beach stop in STT. It did not disappoint. The beach is small but the vibes are grand. We ordered food and drinks from the beach. The restaurant owner Lucy, name of restaurant is the same was so pleasant and lovely to interact with. My husband proper enjoyed himself swimming here. Will definitely be back next time we visit.

If you are staying at Margaritaville, you"ll love this place. Also, get away from the Sargassum thats currently there (helps the turtles out, fyi). You can walk there in a few minutes. You should definitely eat breakfast there and enjoy the beach before the crowd gets there. Got to try chef Karma's breakfast!! Bring cash. So worth it. We came back another day to snorkle and watch the pelicans dive into the water to scoop up fish!! Awesome beach. Chairs and umbrellas worth paying for.

Hull Bay is a charming and somewhat secluded beach that is popular among locals. The picturesque setting features small fishing boats adding to the view, but they can limit swimming and snorkeling opportunities. The water is rocky with outcrops, providing hiding spots for juvenile fish and lobsters, although it can be tough on the feet. This spot attracts surfers who enjoy riding consistent swells without the intimidation of big wave surfing found in other destinations like Hawaii.
Everyone who lives in the VI knows about HULL BAY where the Frenchies play. You can get food and drinks and swim out to the surf breaks! Chill under the palm trees and play 3s. Just be respectful. Almost everyone you will see there is a local. 😉

Best place for locals on the island, park on the beach, the hideaway has music, cornhole, pool, family vibe, strong delicious drinks, great food, seared ahi, rib eye. Lots of frenchies, they're not the nicest to strangers, just ignore insults, be very cool and tip well and you'll be fine. The parking lot Beach can get rowdy on some nights. If you want to hang with the locals it's the place. Great memories!

Great secluded beach. Beware of the frenchies they are violent and racist and will try to strong arm you. Steer clear. The bar is nice and the beach is great.

Mermaid's Chair is a secluded beach located on the westernmost tip of St. Thomas. Accessible by foot, visitors can embark on a 3.6-mile round trip hike from a gated community to reach this stunning white sand beach where the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea meet. Snorkeling opportunities abound, with tropical fish and vibrant corals to be found in the waters surrounding the beach.
Ugh! It’s like being on the edge of the world. One of the best spots on the island! It’s a hell of a hike! Down and up are tough! It’s all sun - and wear good shoes! We hit high tide so we couldn’t walk out to the chair itself but the spot itself was so worth it anyways. Highly recommend
Kristen B — Google review
Oh my goodness the hike! So worth it though. This was our second time visiting and we got two completely different versions of Mermaids Chair. The first was cloudy and a very angry sea, definitely looked like a place for Captain Hook and his mermaids. This time was a cloudless day with minimal waves, the water is amazing! My husband and boys jumped from some of the rocks and we snorkeled a little and found some cool rocks. Make sure you wear good shoes, bring lots of water, and be ready to walk in full sun most of the trek. If you make your way to Mermaids you can also visit Sandy Bay, another big hike down, but the water there was postcard worthy! A few pretty fish but most just a pretty view, also worth it! To visit both beaches you almost have to hike down to one, hike half way out, then down to the other!
Lyndsey D — Google review
Mermaids chair is a sandbar that apparently is covered during high tide. While it's a neat area and the vistas on the way down are pretty nice, the trail down is actually just a 1.5 mile concrete road that is relatively steep for the most part. Not really a hike, just a challenging walk. This is good news if you're looking to avoid dirt, but disappointing if you were hoping for a wooded hike. But the drive out was beautiful and it did make for a nice day. Happy to recommend, but keep your expectations low as it's neat, but not amazing.
Mark B — Google review
My wife and I decided to take on the adventure of mermaids chair. We arrived right at 8:00 a.m. The walk to mermaids chair was pretty easy since it was all down hill. Once we got down to mermaids chair, the ocean was rough, I didn’t check the tide schedule but from other photos I’ve seen, it looked as though the tide was in. We navigated on some rocks to get to the “beach” and it was really worth it. Where else can you stand in two different bodies of water? It was awesome. We explored the beach area, found a peace of seaglass and a beautiful conch shell and some other really cool shells. After spending an hour or so there, we headed back. My wife and I are in good physical condition, as we do a lot of cardio on the treadmill at the 15 incline, so the hike back wasn’t that difficult for us and took us about 25 minutes to hike back up to the front gate. We drank one bottle of water on the way up, we had three bottles a piece so we had plenty. I would advise if you haven’t done any physical conditioning, the hike back up to the top will be challenging so leave yourself plenty of time to hike back up, it’s not for the faint of heart, it’s a hard hike back to the top since it’s just over a mile and all uphill.
Doug — Google review
This is a great way to see the tip of the West End of the island. It’s pretty remote and takes some up and down driving to get to the trailhead. As others have mentioned you check in at the gate house and follow the path. When you get to the Mermaids Chair you can explore the spit of land that feels far away from the rest of St. Thomas.
Tom J — Google review
Well the guard shack lied to us and said a shuttle bus comes once an hr, but we didn't wait for the bus we walked down about 25 mins I'm 52 and my wife 39, but we waited for the shuttle bus to go back up, that never arrived. So we walked back up, that was tougher than expected, my wife showed me that walking zig zag( side to side) up the mountain is less stressful. The beach was great, we sat in a channel that was crystal clear. All in all it was worth the experience.
Jmy J — Google review
Not worth it. Though pretty, it’s not worth the effort. This is within a private area and you park on the road and checkin at the gate. Gate guard takes your name, phone number, and photograph (not sure why they need all this info). It’s then a 1.3 mile walk downhill to the beach. The beach is all rocks. There’s no laying on the beach or getting in the water. The gate guard told us there’s a shuttle that would pick us up so we didn’t have to walk the 1.3 miles uphill when we leave. Shuttle never showed. When we finally made it back, the gate guard said the shuttle driver was off that day. Would’ve been helpful information beforehand. We also asked the gate guard if there was a nearby bathroom and she closed the door on us. Rude.
Christopher R — Google review
Absolutely stunning! Something surreal about the 2 bodies of water crashing waves into one another. The hike was strenuous for sure. I still can’t wrap my head around why anyone can’t drive down to the nice little parking area just above the water. You can walk but not drive. I guess it deters from all the traffic but it should be a celebrated area for all to enjoy.

Hull Bay Beach is a charming and laid-back destination with a large bar and food spot known as the Hideaway. Visitors are welcome to bring their own supplies but are encouraged to keep the area clean. The beach offers various amenities, including outdoor grills, bars, and music for entertainment. It's also an ideal spot for witnessing pelicans diving for fish and observing local fishermen at work during sunset.
This quiet, unassuming beach has amazing snorkeling. We saw turtles, cuttlefish, huge stingrays and tons of fish. The Shack restaurant is also right there, with excellent food and stiff, original drinks.

Great place for snorkeling. Found this beach to be less crowded than others. No cost to visit. Saw sea turtles, various fish, jellyfish, sea urchins, squid or octopus, or cuddle fish(?). Sand beach transitions to rocks before water's edge. Bring water shoes or flippers.

I never miss an opportunity to stop and spend some time in Christmas Cove off St Thomas. Pizza Pi always serves up delicious hand tossed pizza made with fresh ingredients, and the free moorings make this a "must do" overnight stop. Snorkelers can explore rocky patch reefs adorned with sea fans, gorgonians, mustard corals, and brain coral in 5 to 15 feet of water.
I parked at the tourist center and took the trail over. It was a pretty flat trail, and great for running! I think on a map the lower trail looks longer, but it’s flatter. The upper trail goes uphill a little bit and looks shorter on a map. I ran into a couple coming down from NPS offices, but it seems like a much harder hike. The beach was beautiful! There are snack bars, bars, and plenty of space. It looks like the two roads leading into the beach are private and not for public vehicles.

Honeymoon beach is beautiful, quiant, with wonderful blue waters. Unlike the previous reviews their isn't a place to rent chairs or umbrellas. I'm not sure if this was because I went on Wednesday. There is a trail from the road that leads to this spectacular beach, around 15 to 20 minutes of walking downhill. There is a nice little food place with sandwiches and drinks! A store to buy or rent floaters, chairs, paddleboats, etc, with washroom and changing rooms.. They close by 5pm, so please buy your food and drinks before that. Beautiful at sunset too! St. Thomas is a renowned destination famous for its picturesque beaches, snorkeling opportunities, and historical landmarks. It's a popular spot for luxury Caribbean vacations, attracting numerous cruise ships and affluent travelers seeking oceanfront villa rentals with stunning views of the turquoise sea. The island offers a blend of cosmopolitan scenes and traditional island charm, making it an ideal getaway for families as well. Additionally, investing in real estate on St. Thomas provides similar processes to purchasing property in the U.S.

the locals drive like it's Pakistan. Beware the sea weed in the summer. bring at least $300.00 a day for food... duty-free stores are a joke , they say no tax , however, everything you buy is at least 3x more expensive than anywhere else. Just price some booze... aside from the horrible drivers and way extra priced everything the views are great the water is super clear ,and if you get away from the cruise area it's better. I did not cruise had a car so I did see entire island.

If we ever make it back to the island I would stay here in a second. We stayed here for half of our honeymoon, after fleeing St. John to st Thomas right before Hurricane Irma hit. No one would take us in. I begged them at the desk while my wife sat in the rental about to cry. They took us in and boarded us up in a concrete villa. Hurricane shutters and all. After the complete destruction we all became a family and took care of each other and waited for rescue. The cooks there made us our first hot meal maybe days later down by the water. We ate MRE meals from the military throughout and had saved water in our bathtub and all the bowls in the villa. A lot of the lower buildings were destroyed and roofs ripped off. It was terrifying. The aftermath was almost more terrifying than the storm as the island was so destroyed no one could get food or buy anything let alone drive anywhere with phone poles blocking roads and electrical wires everywhere. This is but a short description of the ordeal. We were eventually rescued by a ln old cruise ship. I believe we might have written a thanks shortly after but with Hurricane season starting it made me remember how wonderful the people at this place were to us. Truly like saved our lives. We had nowhere else to stay and time was running out. Thank you again from Buffalo NY. We stayed in B-15. I have tons of professional photos of the damage and trip 😞

From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the island's stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant culture. There's so much to see and do in St. Thomas. I spent my days lounging on the beach, snorkeling in the turquoise waters, and exploring the charming town of Charlotte Amalie. I also had the opportunity to hike through lush rainforests and visit historical sites like Blackbeard's Castle. The locals were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The food was delicious, with a variety of fresh seafood and Caribbean flavors. If you're looking for a fun and relaxing vacation, I highly recommend visiting St. Thomas. Henley Cay is a top snorkeling spot in the U.S. Virgin Islands, known for its vibrant marine life and healthy coral reefs. This remote cay offers an advanced snorkeling experience due to strong currents, making it suitable for confident swimmers. The reef system is fed by the current passing between the cay and St John, resulting in abundant gorgonians, sea fans, brain corals, and diverse reef fish.
April 4th, 2023 Today, I had a life-and-death moment while snorkeling at Henley Cay. I had heard so many great things about the spot, and it truly is one of the best snorkeling locations I’ve ever visited. However, five minutes into the water, I encountered the strongest current I’ve ever faced. My partner had warned me, but I didn’t realize the danger I was in until it was too late. I fought hard to swim back to the boat or reach the beach, but the current was relentless. As I grew more exhausted, thoughts of not making it out alive flooded my mind. I saw my partner trying to guide me towards the bay, but I felt hopeless, picturing my family and friends mourning my death. I kept telling myself not to panic, to stay calm, and to conserve energy. Yet, I continued to drift further from safety. Time seemed to stand still in those terrifying moments, but then, out of nowhere, I saw George—the boy from Michigan—approaching on his uncle’s boat. At that moment, I knew I was saved. I wasn’t going to die in St. John that day. George, if you’re reading this, I cannot thank you enough. You are quite literally my lifesaver and guardian angel. I owe you so much! You can proudly tell everyone that you saved a life at St. John! And if you ever find yourself in NYC, please reach out—I’d love to treat you to the best the city has to offer. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart! To future visitors of Henley Cay: Please, always wear a life jacket. The bay might seem calm and peaceful, but nature can change in an instant. This experience taught me that you should never underestimate the power of the ocean. One careless decision can be fatal. Stay safe and always be cautious in unfamiliar waters—you never know when your life could depend on it.

I chartered a dinghy boat from Wharfside Village in Cruz Bay, St. John. From there it was about a 20 to 30 minute boat ride to Henley Caye. Because the only way there is by kayak or boat, not a lot of people go there. The coral was gorgeous....best I have seen in the entire Virgin Islands! So many different species of fish. It was like a rainbow of colors underwater.

Coral World Ocean Park is a 5-acre marine park located near Coki Beach on the east end of St. Thomas. It offers a variety of activities such as an undersea observatory tower, aquariums, and interactive exhibits where visitors can get up close with marine creatures like nurse sharks and sea lions. The park also provides unique experiences including Sea Trek and Sea Lion Swim.
We went mainly for the dolphin encounter. Our grandson loved that, and we appreciated the enthusiasm of the staff. Then we made our way through the exhibits which were done very well, considering this isn't an enormous park. The underwater observatory was unique. The park wasn't overcrowded. Enjoyed the gift shop and food stand.

At the tail end of our vacation and looking for a few hours to kill before our flight we stumbled on this little gem of a place! We got there in time to see the Macaw presentation which included information about them, and feeding. We spent a good amount of time chatting with Mary at the touch tank who was super friendly and knowledgeable! We got to catch the shark feeding demonstration as well. We learned that Coral World has some really cool exhibits and is very involved with rehabilitation and research to develop more resilient coral species. Would absolutely recommend visiting and taking the time to chat with the different staff and learning about all of their animals! You can tell that they care a lot about their animals!

Great place. Nice paths and the bird sanctuary was nice. We were able to catch a few shows even though we arrived in the afternoon. Just this had everything you could ask for. Exotic plants and plenty of lizards ! Wonderful aquatic life. Staff was courteous and knowledgeable. The large aquarium was great and the staff knew a lot about the fish. Plus the beach is right around the corner. Don’t want a plus !

We had a WONDERFUL time at the dolphin swim! It's a bit pricey but you can get a discount if you stay at Margaritaville and sit through their sales pitch 😁 still, it was a ton of fun. We're very happy to support the dolphin team! Jasmine was an absolute delight and so much fun! My daughter got to dance with a dolphin - her dream!!! My only thought/recommendation was that the aquarium itself was kinda meh. You can only see a sea lion if you attend one of their presentations so we completely missed it. It's next door to Coki beach and you can park in coral worlds lot if you attend the aquarium. Pretty sure you get a free ticket into the park if you book an excursion -so don't pay twice!!!

Awesome experience doing the Sea Trek - walking on the ocean floor in a helmet!!! We held a sea egg, star fish, and invertebrate and got to see so many beautiful creatures and coral! Our guides made it the best. In addition, we caught the sea lion talk, walked the nature trail to see tortoises and iguanas, caught the sea turtle talk, saw the dolphin that another family was enjoying swimming with, and several small exhibits. We ate at the Shark Bar onsite; they had a decent menu. We got the burgers and a “Shark Bite” rum drink. My family of four with two teen boys enjoyed this place. Highly recommend.

Don’t come here…the underwater observation is under construction (3 month from now). Of course it’s not written anywhere in the website. When we realize that , we go to the ticket office and the manager try to apologize but she insists that the lady at the counter told us that the observation is closed and also give us 10% off. We try to get refund (even partially)for this scam but the manager told us there is nothing she can do. My main problem was that it’s not written in the website The staff in the park was very kind , but it’s 30 min taxi from cruise pier(that cost 90$ for 3 of us and 75 $ admission ) for park that the kid get board in 1.5 hour.

Honeymoon Beach is a serene and picturesque getaway located on Water Island, just off the southern coast of St. Thomas. With its powdery white sands, crystal clear turquoise waters, and coconut tree-lined cove, it offers a perfect retreat from the bustling city. Visitors can enjoy activities such as snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, or simply unwinding under the Caribbean sun with a refreshing cocktail in hand.
Came as a cruise passenger, which made getting there a bit tough. But the water ferry was reasonably priced and reliable. The beach is nice but nothing spectacular. The real reason we came here with our kids was to try and snorkel with sea turtles. And happily, we did! We saw at least 8-10 different turtles and it was the highlight of our entire cruise!!!

20$ water taxi to Water island. Private beach with a great bar and restaurant (Dinghys). Good snorkeling, 10$ beach chairs, free access, clear calm water. Just beautiful views all around. Free shittle from the water taxi to the beach or a 15 minute walk through a cute beach town. 1 of our favorite spots in all the Caribbean.
Gaston P — Google review
A short ferry ride to this beach is worth the day trip. Pay $15 per person for the ferry ride that is offered on the hour throughout the day. Check the schedule for weekends and holidays. Free transportation is offered to Honeymoon Beach from the ferry drop off on Water Island. There are golf cart rentals available but reserve in advance. Chair and umbrella rental available for $10/each. Beach is located in a small, protected harbor so the water is calm. Busier than normal on Easter Saturday but not overcrowded.

We visited mid January. It was a gorgeous beach with full amenities from restrooms, restaurant, gift shop and water rentals. They also had chairs for rent. Amazing boats come in and out of the bay all day long. We hoped the 10 minute ferry over from St. Thomas and rented a golf cart to spend our day here. It was totally worth a day trip here.

I loved going over to Water Island! We rented golf carts to drive around the island and relaxed at this beach, too. The beach was pretty empty when I went. There was a fun floaty ring out in the water that was hilarious to watch my friends try to balance on to sit. The beach is beautiful.

Free parking translates to $20 golf cart ride to beach.....That’s fine they are maintaining the area. Very nice, clear and clean beach. Bring your own stuff or you can pay a premium but they are friendly and your on vacation so. There are many other beaches that are absolutely free but if this place is on your checklist you gotta go. It is pretty neat and probably worth it.

Nestled conveniently next to the airport, Lindbergh Bay Beach is a delightful spot for sun-seekers and families alike. This picturesque beach, often referred to as Emerald Beach due to its stunning turquoise waters, offers a welcoming atmosphere with lifeguard services and essential amenities like restrooms and a bathhouse. Just a short taxi ride from downtown Charlotte Amalie, it’s easily accessible for both locals and visitors.
This beach is right next to the airport. Free to park. You just pull right up and walk to the beach. There's also emerald resort nearby for you to get some food. There is also a small bar on the beach with music and fun toys to rent.

About the play area: The park is in pretty bad shape. Fence has been knocked down around the playground and the grounds need some loving care. Most of the parking is completely consumed by airport folks so even finding a place to park is tough. During my visit, the shelters were being used by a couple folks smoking pot. Skip it...nicer places to visit.

Walking distance from the airport. Can kill a little time if you find yourself with hours of flight delays…. Certainly not “special” in comparison to other area beaches. Just a place for killing time since there are zero options near airport.

Came to St. Thomas via a cruise ship. Been here numerous times and decided this time to change things up and visit Lindbergh Bay. Great decision. Beautiful beach. We had a nice relaxing day.

This beach is amazing with clear waters and soft sand. Whether you are alone or planning a family beach day, this beach is one if the most visited beaches in St. Thomas. During the weekdays, the beach is pretty much empty so if you are looking for a peaceful and meditative spot during your lunch break, look no further. If you are okay with a crowd and a little loud music the weekends are usually packed.
TeAhnnie L — Google review
Be carefully with the ones offering you beverages at the beach, some are taking advantage of tourists, they ask for money to go for drinks but then they disappear. Beach is beautiful, location is worth it, just be careful of locals.

Perfect for personal, couples and FAMILIES experiences! 1. The shorelines are super shallow, as parents your mind can be at ease knowing that your child could be about 3-5 yards out and still be able to stand (experiment for yourself for different heights will apply). 2. There is a jet ski company on the far right of the beach accessible for your adrenaline fun! 3. It’s a CLEAR & CLEAN beach, which makes it so beautiful to see at any time of the day Unless your willing to spend money on a chair, I do advise you to BRING YOUR OWN SEATINGS. Please do enjoy your stay! #Local

Peter and Sparky were great! We came away wishing we could just have a beer with Peter sometime to continue chatting, and Sparky was a great dive master. We found September for the off-season to be great for getting personalized service. Sparky covered everything we needed to cover, the dive shop could not be in a better spot for access to the shore dive, and we especially appreciated chatting with Sparky after the dive in the shallows about the dive, his life in St. Thomas, and anything else we wanted to chat about. We saw our first sea horse in the wild, especially appreciated the gradual decent in the shore dive, and decided to book a second dive because the first was such a great experience! Just be careful waiting for your taxi to get back to the cruise ship - we waited 5-10 minutes for a second group who wound up getting dropped off before us, leaving us 15 minutes to spare getting back to our ship - a bit too tight for comfort. We also wish people would not smoke next to the air tanks - a real bummer. But, all the key experiences where it counts, were some of the best we've had in our time diving.

Great dive center right on the stunning Coki beach. Good diving right off the shore! Brit, Peter, and Brett were very accommodating and helped us out with gear rentals and a dive briefing. If you are a beginner diver, or have no experience at all. This a great shop to go with. An amazing beginner level dive is right out front. Experienced instructors will give you the proper training required for an amazing experience.

I had a wonderful time diving with this company! I did 2 boat dives one morning with them and we had a dive group of just 5 people, including our guide Triscuit. Triscuit was really knowledgeable and made the dive so much fun, pointing out lots of different sea life using his many hand signs (some of which are hilarious jokes - pretending to hold a cigarette to signal a pufferfish, covering one eye like a pirate eye-patch to sign for a parrotfish, etc). He and the captain also took great care of us - we hardly lifted a finger in preparing any of the dive gear, they got it all ready for us and helped us get it all on and off, and in and out of the boat. I enjoyed their great service for someone who only dives occasionally on vacations and isn’t always the most confident in putting it all together. We had absolutely beautiful dives at Straggler’s Rock and Ledges, seeing a green sea turtle, 3 nurse sharks, a giant pufferfish, a barracuda that followed us around for a while, an eel, and so much more! The reefs were gorgeous and in pretty great shape, and I’d say these were some of my favorite dives I’ve ever done. I’d definitely recommend diving in the Virgin Islands and with Coki Dive Center!

Spent 3 days here diving. This review will be long, but worth the read. As an experienced diver with multiple certs, I can with confidence say these were THE best dives I’ve ever been on thus far. On the boat we went with Caesar & Brittney. Both were highly professional, Brittney was teaching new divers and you could tell she was an expert just by listening. Caesar was very friendly, and brought his camera on the dives. The pictures he took were great, and saved us the trouble of having to bring ours. They’re totally worth the gallery price on the website. Even the captain (apologies, I forget his name) was so friendly and full of great conversation- he gave us several suggestions on places to dive up north where we live. But here is where Coki REALLY delivered. You HAVE to do their night dives off the beach. There is a reef right there. First night we saw a reef shark, eels, shrimp, and rays while diving with Pete, the owner (who was fantastic the entire time despite us having to change our reservation a few times). Our other night dive we went with Neil & Brett. Breathtaking was an understatement. Neil is a marine biologist & Brett is a dive master in training. Their expertise is finding creatures. The key to night dives is going slow, look in crevices/rocks, and enjoy the scenery. Neil found us decorator crabs, these tiny crabs that use sponges & sea anemones as their shells. He carefully and skillfully found several for us to look at, though they were so small. Brett found us multiple (~20) eels, several shrimp and crabs. The real treat though was we saw FOUR OCTOPI. Right up close, beautiful blue/green reef & a huge brown common Atlantic. Even if you are regular diver like me, go with a guide because they know ALL the best places, are SUPER friendly, highly professional and ALWAYS go the extra mile to give you an experience you cannot find anywhere else.

I was in St Thomas for a cruise ship port day. Setting up an excursion with Coki Dive was zero stress. Peter was in constant communication the entire time leading up to the arrival. Ryan was the dive master that was very thorough in safety and ensuring everyone enjoyed the dive. Ryan is a fantastic dive master that will ensure everyone is safe and comfortable and enjoys their dive. Highly recommend Coki, I’ll be back to dive again when I’m back on another cruise. 10/10!

Great place to have your first dive! I had a bad experience diving in Jamaica and because of the owner and instructors encouragement I was able to have a successful dive! Pete the owner talked to me on the phone for almost an hr listening to my concerns and previous experience and encouraging me that I could in fact dive and be successful! Then my instructor Lindsay is such a gentle soul she put me at ease as soon as I meet her! And of course Caesar the divemaster that joined us to take photos kept us entertained and took great pictures of all the fun and wildlife for us! Definitely the best place to go!!!

Honeymoon Beach is a stunning coastal gem nestled within the Virgin Islands National Park, boasting crystal-clear waters and soft white sands that beckon visitors to unwind. This idyllic spot offers water-sport rentals for those looking to add some adventure to their day. Accessible only by foot or boat, it’s part of a network of scenic trails leading from the park's visitor center.
Getting there was an adventure in itself - ferry from St. Thomas to St. John's, a bus ride from the ferry to the gates, followed by a shuttle that drops you right at the beach. The facilities? Let’s just say they’re functional, but don’t expect anything fancy. Still, once you set eyes on the beach, any minor inconveniences melt away. This place is pure paradise, even with the water a bit clouded from recent storms. It’s still one of the best beaches I’ve ever been to - a peaceful atmosphere that makes it feel like your own private escape. And here’s a surprise: there’s an on-site bar! A little unexpected for a national park, but hey, no complaints here. Sipping a cold drink with that view? Perfection. It wasn’t crowded at all during our visit, which made it even better. The few people we did chat with were laid-back and friendly, adding to the welcoming vibe. If you’re looking for a quiet, picturesque spot to relax, this beach is absolutely worth the trip.

No hiking required if you park at Caneel Bay and take the $12 shuttle to and from Honeymoon beach. The chair rental is $25 for the day. Don't pay the $75 fee for a server and a chair. The same crew takes your orders regardless of how much you pay at the gate. The beach is very peaceful and we found a family of sea turtles feeding off the beach so bring some snorkeling gear.

Just gotta say, if i have to hike 40 minutes to get there, it really should be a nude beach. But very lovely. Clear water, amenities, drinks, quiet.

Great beach. You will have to hike from downtown or from the parking area up the hill from town. The hike from the parking area is 20 minutes down and 15 minutes up. Beach has a bar and rental place that looked like it was opening back up soon. If so, there will be a lot of people at the beach from boats. Snorkeling boats stop here in the mid morning for about an hour.

This dive center offers an array of services, including boat dives, rental equipment, and even a retail store for all your diving needs. For those eager to extend their adventure, multiple-tank packages are available for multi-day diving experiences. Visitors rave about their time with Admiralty Dive Center, highlighting the friendly and knowledgeable staff who make every dive memorable.
Did 2 dives last minute w/ Admiralty Dive Center on 5-18-24 and had a fantastic time! Brit and Jerry were a pleasure to be out on the water with. We dove the W.I.T. concrete and Bad Government on a Saturday with some of the local divers. I felt special to be on board that day. They invited me out and everyone was great. Didn't really think I was going to enjoy the W.I.T. and was soooo wrong! It was a cool dive. I, along w/ one other diver, pretty much had Brit as our personal guide and she was super! Such a relaxed person to be on a dive with. Took the time to point out lots of stuff, going in swim throughs as well as letting you explore this neat site. The coral was top to bottom with a good amount of fish and even a reef shark. Bad Government was a reef dive. Nice reef, cone sponges, small school of Angel fish, Queen Angels, Tiger Striped Angels, Cleaner shrimp and too many others to list. Would definitely dive with them again! My thanks to all of the people on the trip that day for making it a fantastic day to be alive!

We had a great time with Britt exploring the WIT Concrete site. This was our first shipwreck we dove and it really opened our eyes to a new territory to explore. We also did lobster hunting off Water Island and got lucky! 5/5 Highly Recommend Britt and her team.

The entire Admiralty dive crew (Jerry, Britt, Davin, Trisket) is stellar. They are all divers who actually dive, and you can tell straight away. We dove two different wrecks, we were allowed a long leash, and everyone had great dives. Admiralty are a great dive outfit for experienced divers in particular, and photographers will feel right at home. Note: The dive location is the dock where the boats are stationed, and not a dive shop. Park near the Frenchtown Deli and Coffee Shop (pink building), and walk with your gear the rest of the way. See my photos for details.

If you’re an advanced diver looking for an unforgettable dive experience, look no further than Admiralty Dive Center! This dive trip is for divers who are comfortable at depth and have recently been in the water. Now, with that intro out of the way—WHAT A GREAT 2 DIVES! Admiralty Dive Center checked all of our boxes. We had the perfect mix of depth, wreck exploration, marine life, and everything in between. We encountered sharks, vibrant coral, octopus, and an array of other creatures that made the dives truly magical. The boat is no-frills, which I personally loved—it’s focused on diving, not luxury, and caters specifically to experienced divers. The relaxed, professional atmosphere made it easy to enjoy the trip without any unnecessary distractions. Highly recommended for advanced divers looking for a real adventure in St. Thomas!

An Unforgettable Dive Experience with Admiralty Divers! 🌊🐬🦞 We had the absolute best time diving with Admiralty Divers—this crew knows how to deliver an unforgettable underwater adventure! From start to finish, Captain Dave, Brittany, and Tristan made us feel safe, welcome, and totally pumped for every dive. The marine life we encountered was nothing short of magical—blacktip reef sharks, majestic turtles, graceful stingrays, and the highlight of our trip: a curious dolphin that swam alongside us! It felt like a dream. To top it all off, they guided us through some fantastic lobster diving, and we caught a few incredible ones with their help. They really know the best spots and make the whole experience fun and effortless. We’ll always dive with Admiralty Divers whenever we’re back in town. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or trying it for the first time, this is the team you want to be with. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

My son 13 year old son wanted to get certified in scuba without much advance warning. They were absolutely fantastic in accommodating this request and letting my wife and I to also take refresher course along with him. Christi was absolutely amazing. She was great with our son, coaching him and making it fun while holding a high level of expectations and standard of excellence. She went at his pace and tried to accommodate all skills in day one so that the last couple of dives we all could just go diving and enjoy the experiences. The whole boat crew and locals on the dive were amazing and a lot of fun, friendly, and encouraging. It was a fantastic experience and will 100% use them again. The dive itself was fantastic, they did a great job point out incredible sea life, we went to a wreck, and a couple of reefs. We saw a few sharks, sea turtles, and even a stingray as well as 1000s of fish, coral, fauna. It was great! Thank you Admiralty Dive, truly an incredible family memory.

The greatest water experience I’ve ever done in my life, Scuba diving is now in my top 3 hobbies I’m gonna do regularly. Looking at the ocean floor is a scene so beautiful it’s hard to put into words. Highly recommend doing the experience with Admiralty, Kellen is a phenomenal instructor. He broke down and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. He’s extremely knowledgeable about his craft, even breaking down the scientific aspects of diving and still making the information palatable. 12/10 experience, will never forget for the rest of my life, and might even get certified just because. At some point in the near future I’m definitely gonna come back and link with Kellen for sure.

Tristan and Britt are the absolute best! I’d wanted to learn to scuba dive for years and had two previous bad experiences with open water that o never completed and worried it wasn’t for me. I love sharks and really wanted to be able to see them and dive. I tried one more time in the Virgin Islands with Tristan as my fearless instructor and had the best time (and saw sharks in every dive)! Tristan made me such a confident diver that Britt took me to a wreck on my 5th ever dive and I fell so in love with it I just completed AOW a month later. I could not recommend them both and the team at Admiralty more. They not only helped me complete a goal I’ve had for a very long time, but they made it a truly life changing experience.

Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, Neltjeberg Bay is a hidden gem on St. Thomas that promises an unforgettable escape into nature. This stunning half-moon beach can be reached after a 20-minute hike through lush greenery, where wild pineapples and guavas grow freely. Unlike the more popular Dorothea Beach nearby, Neltjeberg Bay offers a sense of seclusion with its pristine sandy shores often enjoyed by just a handful of visitors.
A true hidden gem! An off the beaten path beach and bay and a place almost guaranteed to be free of the cruise ship hordes. A high clearance vehicle is highly recommended although a 4WD might be the way to go if the road to the beach is wet even in the slightest since the surface is rutted and muddy and will definitely get slick in the rain. We spent a few hours on the beach and did some snorkeling as well. The beach has sandy patches between rocks, so I recommend water shoes. The snorkeling is best in the middle section near the swing. There are plenty of fish but the reef isn't vivid. However because the reef is in shallow water, the snorkeling is up close and personal. Which also means, that a life jacket and fins are a good idea in order to stay afloat and not touch the reef. Overall, a great place to avoid the crowds and experience some reasonably challenging driving.

Cannot get to it on the road without a 4x4! We arrived around 9am and there was only one other couple on the beach. Eventually a few other families arrived but we never had anyone close to us. The water has different areas: rough with waves, super calm and coral to snorkel. We spent many hours relaxing and enjoying the pristine beach. No facilities so please take your trash with you!

Neltjeberg Bay: A Hidden Gem for Adventurous Explorers In a world where tourist hotspots are often overcrowded and commercialized, there exists a hidden gem that remains untouched by the masses. Neltjeberg Bay, nestled away in a remote corner of the world, may not be easily accessible, but for those willing to embark on an off-road adventure, it promises an experience like no other. With its pristine waters and abundant marine life, this secluded bay is a paradise for snorkelers and divers alike. Located in a remote region, Neltjeberg Bay is not your typical tourist spot. To reach this hidden treasure, one must possess a 4x4 vehicle, as the rugged terrain leading to the bay demands a sturdy and capable mode of transportation. However, the journey itself is an adventure in its own right, as you traverse through winding paths, surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking landscapes. The anticipation builds with every bump and turn, knowing that the destination holds something truly extraordinary. Upon arrival, the first thing that strikes you is the untouched beauty of Neltjeberg Bay. The crystal-clear turquoise waters gently lap against the pristine sandy shore, inviting you to dive into its depths. As you swim out approximately 75 feet from the shore, a mesmerizing underwater world unfolds before your eyes. The reefs that lie beneath the surface are teeming with a wide variety of reef fish, creating a vibrant and colorful spectacle. The diversity of marine life found in Neltjeberg Bay is truly awe-inspiring. Schools of tropical fish gracefully glide through the water, their vibrant hues creating a kaleidoscope of colors. From the majestic angelfish to the playful clownfish, each species adds its own unique charm to this underwater paradise. The coral formations, too, are a sight to behold. Delicate and intricate, they provide a habitat for countless marine organisms, creating a delicate balance within this fragile ecosystem. Snorkeling or diving in Neltjeberg Bay is not just an activity; it is an immersive experience that allows you to connect with nature on a profound level. As you glide through the water, weightless and free, you become one with the marine world around you. The tranquility and serenity of the bay envelop you, transporting you to a realm untouched by the chaos of the modern world. It is a moment of pure bliss, where time seems to stand still. While Neltjeberg Bay may not be easily accessible, the effort required to reach this hidden gem is undoubtedly worth

Absolutely gorgeous! Definitely have a 4x4 to take the trail down. There are some old ruins there as well. But the beach alone is by far one of the prettiest on St Thomas

No marked entrance. Unimproved road. Empty peach to play on. This is an uninhabitated beach. If you don't bring it, you don't have it. But you can do whatever you want at this place. When I say unimproved road, that means a 4X4 is needed to access the beach. If you don't have a 4WD there are plenty of spots to pull over on the side of the road when you get nervous about the drive. That just means you have to walk back up to get it. Fun beach. Never crouded, unless there's a planned party. Not the clearest water as there is a northern surf that stirs up sand most days. But there is a fun rock island you can swim to. 5⭐ for secluded beach, 3⭐ for VI beauty and 4⭐ overall. Reccomend.

Amazing place, you get the beach just for you! You will get there via the walking trail from Dorothea Beach (ca 15min.) Looks like a paradise <3 There are waves so snorkeling can be more difficult, but there are also a lot of fishes. The most clear water for snorkeling is on Brewers Beach

About a 15 minute hike from the condos at Dorthea Beach. Pretty easy but wear good shoes and don't go after a rain. You'll be rewarded with an incredible deserted beach and mostly sandy bottom. Hoping to take the trail with a 4x4 in the future!

I nicknamed this absolutely gorgeous beach, "Swing Beach"! The view is spectacular! A great beach just to relax and snorkel at. It is definitely off the beaten path and you need an all terrain vehicle to get there, but it's worth the drive. There aren't any beach bars, restaurants or bathrooms here, so stop on the way! 5 🌟 ⛱️!

Such a cool little island filled with hermit crabs! If you visit St. Thomas, go kayaking/snorkeling here on a guided tour. It is so cool, have been twice in my three visits.

Beautiful place, best view, small hiking on the rocks, fantastic wild life on land and in the water

In case you've ever wondered where hermit crabs come from, this is it!

12-20-22 Love this island! This will require a boat or kayak to get to. I did a kayak trip with VI Ecotours that is about a one mile paddle one way. Relatively calm water. Cas Cay is a wildlife preserve. On Cas Cay are thousands upon thousands of hermit crabs scurrying about. Understatement. You can pick them up but I like to watch em run and climb. You can hike the main path (coral dried up everywhere but flat), pass a manchineel tree (extremely deadly), and get to the blowhole that is Red Point. Very rocky and scenic. Expect to see other wildlife such as sea urchins, etc. Cas Cay is also a popular snorkel destination. I would say that is an ok spot for most people but we saw a lionfish, octopus, and schools of other fish. This spot isn't a colorful snorkel excursion and not the most plentiful for fish. It is decent and those new to snorkeling would find it good. A lot here and an excellent nature outing.
