Night club
Corporation, also known as Corp, is a unique and legendary alternative music nightspot in Sheffield. It offers three distinct spaces for club nights and live shows, catering to a wide range of musical tastes including emo, alternative, and heavy metal. The venue features an indie room with diverse music selections, a white room for mainstream chart hits, and a smaller downstairs space that plays various genres. Additionally, Corporation has recently expanded with a warehouse area.
This was a fantastic venue for clubbing, with classic pop tunes playing! The outside area is sound to chill out in, drinks are really cheap at just £1 each. Blue and pink lightding creates the vibe downstairs, upstairs is where it's at with the booming atmosphere and smoke machine!
K. P — Google review
It's a great venue!!! Very helpful and polite staff, two stages, nice area for socialising and merch next to the bar, which is situated between the stages. Very decent prices. Will totally recommend giving it a go.
Zlati K — Google review
Went on a Saturday night and was a great experience! The music was excellent: a really fun mix of popular samples mixed in with beats. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing and without any unpleasant edginess. This is a basic club with excellent prices to match. But a good sound system. The main room is not too hot either. Had a brilliant time.
Malvolio Z — Google review
Excellent music venue. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced beer. Loud music! Yeeeaah !
Richard F — Google review
Great venue, bar service quick and easy. Sound was brilliant last night, great night!
Richard H — Google review
Came here last night for Zebrahead everything is well sign posted in the building which is great apart from the VIP area but not to worry, professional staff, queuing isn't a long process, the venue itself felt very safe, lots of security for the crazy gigs, theres carpeted walls which is really nice, drinks are obviously very expensive... something I was surprised by was the toilets, the seats are wooden never been anywhere what has wooden toilet seats and doors! Great place for a gig though plenty of space which is amazing considering that it is quite a small venue for a gig, I would go again!
Hayley B — Google review
Glorious! Went to see motley crue tribute who were fantastic, then more recently a black sabbath/ deep purple tribute. Deep purple didnt turn up so black sabbath (Sabotage) had to fill the whole slot. They were amazing! So much energy and really talented.
Lauren G — Google review
I love it here. I feel at home and generally quite safe at Corp. Decent prices on drinks, toilets usually quite clean (though in busy times maybe have your own loo rolls with you hahah).

The Leadmill is a renowned live music venue in Sheffield, known for its diverse band lineup and weekly indie club nights. It has a rich history of hosting big names like Oasis and Arctic Monkeys. The venue offers regular student club nights with great drink offers, making it popular among the local crowd. With two different rooms playing everything from indie rock to hip hop, The Leadmill is a must-visit for late-night revelers looking for an eclectic music scene.
Easy to find from the train station. Excellent wheelchair access and viewing area for our friend, who just contacted the venue in advance to arrange. Used the bar to the right of the entrance which was relatively quiet. Friendly staff, clean toilets. The turn were pretty good as well!
Simon P — Google review
A great smallish nightclub / music venue. We watched an act here. Parking at the railway station around the corner, this was expensive. Bar open selling keg ale, draught cider and lager. Good selection of real ales in bottles / cans. Reasonable prices for a club, £11.80 for 2 pints. Plastic glasses or in a can. Large clean toilets
Russell H — Google review
Great venue, quite small with lots of bars. Perfect for a Louis Dunford gig. Will be looking out for more gigs at this venue. Good sound, good views from floor level, very close to stage.
Stefan P — Google review
Nice venue but otherwise it really depends on what you're doing there. It's pretty much only as good as what it's being used for. Pleasant staff, good security. Toilets leave something to be desired. At least they work. Good location. I'm not local to Sheffield
Will W — Google review
An Unforgettable Farewell to The Leadmill What a truly sensational final night it was at The Leadmill! The atmosphere was absolutely electric, with banging tunes from the DJs keeping everyone on their feet and the energy levels sky-high. Even as the beer ran out, the party didn't stop; we just switched to drinking from cans, proving that the spirit of the night was unstoppable. I'm genuinely going to miss this iconic place so much. It was more than just a venue; it was a home to countless memories. It was incredible to meet a family who had made a special trip just for this closing night, highlighting the deep connection people have to The Leadmill. Jack and I had an absolutely fabulous time, making this last hurrah one for the history books.

Really great venue. First time for me. The sound was particularly good. I would say the space is just about right for getting a good sound. Bar was well staffed and toilets were clean with plenty of soap. We watched Dodgy play Free Peace Sweet in full and they smashed it.

Went to see Ideal, a comedy where everyone spends most of the time sat down. First few rows seemed to enjoy it. Half of us couldn't see, and the sound was soooo quiet we all went into second half not knowing what was happening in the story. Good venue. Good show. Really bad combo. Disappointed.

Night club
If you're on the hunt for an electrifying night out in Sheffield, look no further than Tank. This stylish lounge and dance club is a haven for house, bass, and techno enthusiasts. While entry fees may be slightly higher than other venues, the experience is well worth it thanks to its incredible sound system that delivers authentic dubstep vibes.
Been a couple of times to see Jamie Dugan, really good atmosphere, brilliant nights, will defo be going again 😊
Tony S — Google review
Told the bouncer I got punched twice by the same guy. Bouncer told me to leave the club. I promise this bus the worst run club in Sheffield. Steer clear there are so many better clubs out there. If you wanna get punched round the jaw, this is the place for you!!!!
George — Google review
Came for an event and quite impressed with the sound system and visuals. However, we had to queue for about an hour, despite paying for tickets as they only had one ID checker. Also there is a £10 minimum bar spend and the drinks are quite pricey for up north but to be expected for a rated club I guess. Also no tap water, only bottled which they want cash for.
Robert D — Google review
Changed time of event last minute left us stood in weather until half 9 when the event was meant to start entry at 8, they charge 3.50 for water and don’t let you leave to buy your own Which is just dangerous when 90% of the people there are off their face, they had majority of the main names on early so by 1 am we were that bored of it we left and even if it wasn’t boring you couldn’t cope rest of night with how little ventilation it has, all in all artists was class, staff were rude, and owner knows less about event organising than all garried out 16yr olds they let run riot round there, wouldn’t recommend in the slightest it isn’t a safe venue
Bailey R — Google review
I travelled a far way for the Cru2 event being held in this venue and i strongly regret it. We turned up and straight away the security was very rude accusing us of lying about “showing our tickets” even though the girls scanning the tickets let us straight through without mentioning anything about it. After then accusing us of lying and making us feel very uncomfortable they was very aggressive towards other people in the club. After being made to feel this way we proceeded to leave after a very uncomfortable 15 minutes.
Summer J — Google review
It was my first time at tank night club and most definitely my last, my whole experience was about 15 mins which in comparison to our 3.5hour trip isn’t worth it and it all started when entering, the ticket girls who were occupied with talking to someone didn’t make it clear that they were actually ticket girls, so we missed the ticket scan following that I was then met by a bouncer who clearly forgot that he was indeed a bouncer at a night club and Not an SAS soldier who then proceeded to interrogate me as to why I haven’t scanned my ticket and called me a liar. Once that was sorted we then cautiously headed in realising very quickly that this sweat box could have been used as a torture chamber we made a swift exit before any long term damage to our immune systems occurred. Stay away at all costs.

Pub
British restaurant
Bungalows & Bears is a trendy pub located in a former fire station on Division Street in Sheffield. This unique venue has been a staple of the city's music scene for over a decade, hosting various events and live performances. The pub offers a mix of cask ales, cocktails, brunch, and burgers in an airy and modern setting. It has a vibrant atmosphere with a student-friendly vibe, making it an ideal spot to enjoy craft beers and comfort food while listening to great music.
Had a very enjoyable Christmas lunch with my work colleagues. The three course Christmas meal was excellent value for £17.50, with a nice twist on the Christmas theme. I had Pulled Turkey Yorkie to start, Santa's Christmas Beast burger for main and Festive Guinness Brownie for dessert. Staff were friendly and welcoming, providing and efficient service and we didn't feel rushed. The team seemed to enjoy themselves. Thank you so much to Sasha and all the staff at Bungalow & Bears for the delicious food and being so accommodating. Hope to see you again soon.

The place is very similar to The Flight Club with a wide variety of games to choose from for AR darts. The atmosphere is so lively any time of the day, and the service is super quick, too. Love that our game highlights are recorded for us to cherish.

We did a bottomless brunch at bungalows and bears, and it was the best bottomless brunch that we have ever had! The service was amazing, all the staff were so friendly, positive and always available to take drink orders! It made the brunch very special and the staff made such a great atmosphere, especially Charlotte, she was great, so friendly and positive and she provided an amazing service! Would definitely recommend for brunch, drinks and darts! We will definitely be back!

Me and my boyfriend went on Sunday for the darts and bottomless brunch, perfect way to spend a rainy weekend! Staff were absolutely lovely, we had a great time and would recommend to anyone! The beef tacos especially were a highlight ⭐️

Came in here for bottomless brunch and it was exceptional service, very attentive and friendly. Lauren and Ash were serving us for this and they are so lovely. Thank you so much! Will be back :)

No real ale, very disappointing. How are you able to have 9 kegged beers and no proper beer, this place clearly doesn’t care about British brewing. Music also too loud. Had to drink dog (which is fine, but shouldn’t be the only drink available).

Cocktail bar
Public is a trendy bar located beneath Sheffield town hall, known for its extensive signature cocktail menu. Despite its unusual origins as a former public toilet, the bar has been transformed into an atmospheric space with pastel pink and deep green decor reminiscent of a Wes Anderson film set. The venue prides itself on using unique cocktail ingredients like white cacao, fermented rhubarb, fluffed orange, and truffle oil to offer an unforgettable experience.
Quirky space. Great drinks, good service. They'll spin the disco ball on demand. Definitely worth a visit for the cocktail lover
Dean R — Google review
An intimate, first-come-first-serve bar with a sense of occasion. The setting is undeniably unique—housed in a renovated public toilet—which is both intriguing and slightly off-putting. Cocktails are expensive but crafted with real artistry right in front of you, making the experience feel personal and indulgent. Service is exceptional: warm, engaging, and a true highlight of the visit. The atmosphere matches the exclusivity, offering a refined space for those willing to dress the part.
Gastronomy C — Google review
One of my good friends took me here as part of to trying out a few bars/ pubs for my first time in Sheffield and was a lovely bar to have a chat over a cocktail or two. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful asking us if we needed anything/ attentive as well as gave us tips on the drink flavour profiles. It’s a unique intimate setting but quite quirky/novelty place for a drink in Sheffield. Considering how much they fit into one drink it’s definitely worth a try to see if there’s one that fits you and is good to support local bars!
Hannah W — Google review
Really enjoyed our visit to Public yesterday. It's a tiny bar, housed in a former public toilet in Sheffield city centre. The atmosphere and playlist were great and the team are super friendly and welcoming. The cocktails were very good, with unusual flavours and quality spirits. We tried two cocktails each and really enjoyed both. We'll be back!
Oona M — Google review
It's possible I just made a bad call with the drink I ordered, but my partners was similar. Barely any drink, huge price tag, and the spirit overpowered any actual enjoyable flavour. Atmosphere and staff were lovely though. Worth it for a one-off to see what it was like, but can't see myself coming back.
Bradley A — Google review
Previous experience was fantastic, only to be greated with nothing but distant on arrival Although busy we witnessed 7 people leave the establishment , despite being part of a group of 3 we were eventually we were eventually told, “walk ins only”. No body else was waiting and. We were looking for our initial drink of the evening. Whilst I understand the clientele should match the venue it appears 3 gentlemen were not “the look” the venue was looking for. We went there as the cocktails from previous experience were the best annd have on first knowledge was “the place” in Sheffield. Sadly not. Avoid.
Craig M — Google review
After seeing the good reviews, we decided to pop in for a few pre-gig drinks. We didn't book, but they found space for us in a snug booth. Great service from Jack who went through the menu and provided water whilst we chose our drinks. Best drink for me was the Heavy Hitter and the wife's was Can't Knock It. Staff were great and attentive but gave us plenty of time to savour our drinks. Also served by another staff member but didn't catch his name (he was sporting a retro jumper). Good music and vibes. Thanks to Jack and jumpers. Would definitely visit again.

West Street Live is a lively live music venue located just a few doors down from Tiger Works. By day, it looks like an ordinary building, but at night, it transforms into a popular destination filled with energy and great music. The venue hosts nightly bands and DJs, as well as weekend tribute acts. It offers a variety of unique drinks, including the famous Chuck Norris shot made with vodka and chili powder.
Best venue in Sheffield, drinks prices are unbelievable cheap👌 could easily get drunk on £20. great live music venue too, the sound is brilliantand very clear. Very clean and great atmosphere when everyone is in the venue. Great air conditioning too.
Dan H — Google review
Cheap drinks which is good, good music too. But a man kept coming up to my friend and making her uncomfortable and the bouncer was told about it, he said he’d keep an eye out for the man. When the man continued he said ‘what do you expect bringing your girlfriend to a place like this’, and when this was brought up to the bouncer, the bouncer laughed. He replied ‘I can’t help but laugh mate when you brought her to a place like this’. disgusting.
George F — Google review
Since they have now ignored my email and blocked me from both Facebook and Instagram after I commented on posts I thought I would post a little review of my experience at West Street Live on the morning of Sunday 24th August. At approximately 1.15am I was queuing to enter West Street Live with a group of friends when, at around 1.30am we reached the venue entrance where we showed our IDs to one of the door supervisors and my ID was accepted by him before I attempted to enter the venue. At this point another bouncer, wearing a white shirt and red tie (1st pic) approached me angrily to say I had been ‘rude’ because I had ignored something he had apparently said to me as I entered, I did not hear him and this was also in a busy and noisy environment. I explained that I hadn’t heard him say anything to me and continued walking into the building before he used his arm to forcefully block and move me away from the entrance as he told me I would not be allowed into the venue. The reasons for this didn’t seem clear. I once again explained that I hadn’t heard him speak to me and in a reasonable manner asked what the problem was and why I was refused entry. He and his other colleagues then ignored my questions before he then asked me why I was still there, but then continued to refuse to engage with me. When I continued to ask to understand the issue he then told me to go away and pushed me away forcefully at which point I asked to see their SIA licenses, to which they refused and after this I was pushed again by his bigger colleague (2nd pic). This was with greater force to the point where I nearly fell to the ground into busy oncoming traffic, fortunately I was able to regain my balance. As I hadn’t acted aggressively towards them at any point during the altercation, this was an entirely unprovoked assault. I had acted reasonably in trying to gain understanding as to why he decided to deny my entry to the venue and none of the bouncers had any need to defend themselves or others by pushing me. I have reported the incident to the police who are making enquiries at time of writing and my next report will be to the press unless management at WSL decide to respond to me. Absolutely disgusting that the management ignore and block my communications let alone not apologise for the way I was treated. Well done West Street Live, you have lost my custom. Not really an enterprising way to treat the people who keep the venue in business is it?
Harry C — Google review
visited this bar last night with some friends, and although it’s conveniently located, the experience at the entrance was incredibly disappointing. We queued up as usual and were asked to provide ID, which is understandable. However, we were shocked to find out that they refused to accept the UK’s new eVisa system as valid proof of age. Even though our BRP cards are expired, they no longer serve as legal proof, and the Home Office clearly states that eVisas are the current standard. We were not even given a chance to explain — the security staff simply denied us entry without discussion. What’s more frustrating is that someone ahead of us in the line used a photo of their ID or bank details and was let in. Why are the rules not applied consistently? Honestly, who carries their passport 24/7 just to go out for a drink? I really hope the management reviews their ID policy and trains the staff to keep up with updated UK immigration systems. It’s disappointing to be turned away simply because a valid form of ID was not recognized.
Jintao Y — Google review
If you’re a woman trying to fight back against male aggressors, don’t even think about coming here. Security won’t even try to hear you out. Drinks are nice and cheap, the music is great, but the security won’t hear you out
Patricia P — Google review
The bouncers here acted disgustingly, I got manhandled out of the club just for being sick (in the toilet!!!!) as I’m lactose intolerant and didn’t realise the shot that I had contained lactose. I am really disappointed with how the bouncers acted towards me and my friends it was cruel and uncalled for. The bouncers were not willing to hear anybody out except what they had been told to do and it showed a disgraceful and unacceptable attitude towards us as customers.
Daisy W — Google review
Drinks were cheap, music was good, staff were friendly despite looking a tad big exhausted. Great night out!
Maddie W — Google review
I have been in this club many of times and tonight I happened to get hiccups, and when dealing it I got scored out ? For what ? Worse of all my while friend group got kicked out… for what ? The bouncers have turned pathetic and looking out for any issue. Appalled.

Yellow Arch Studios, located in the heart of Sheffield's industrial area, is a multifaceted venue that serves as a recording studio, rehearsal space, and live music venue. This Victorian factory complex has been an integral part of Sheffield's music scene since the late 1990s and has worked with renowned artists such as Arctic Monkeys, Jarvis Cocker, and Kylie Minogue.
An absolutely cracking venue and truly a hidden gem. The acoustics are superb, two bars with a wide range of drinks, craft ales and the usual suspects. Covered seating area outside and all the staff are friendly and helpful. If you love live music, comedy nights etc it's a must visit, you won't be disappointed.

This venue is absolutely fantastic and I would encourage anyone to spend some time here - whether for a gig, or a sunny pint in the courtyard. Staff are friendly, knowledgable and happy to help. There’s even pizza available - it’s great value and tastes fantastic! 10/10, no notes. Keep doing what you’re doing Yellow Arch 👌

FANTASTIC VENUE, The space, food, staff, DJ and manager exceeded our expectations… Such a chilled vibe and nothing was too much trouble for our party. A fantastic venue! It was my first visit and I am very impressed. I emailed in advance to request a seat because of my silly legs and that was very easily and kindly organised. The venue is clean, spacious and cool with brilliant sound and lights. There is a disabled toilet, too. Highly recommended.

We had the most magical and wonderful experience last week when our eldest daughter and, now son-in-law used YAS for their wedding breakfast and after party. The food was a fully vegan fayre, expertly prepped and delivered by Steve and his team. The food was to die for, with every detail thought through and the flavours were divine. The party venue was perfect, with a mix of space for the full on band (@LoudNoises) and a quieter bar for groups to use. The while space offered something for everybody, including an 'off the wall antiques barn' - you just have to visit to fully appreciate it. The staff were collectively, and without exception, brilliant. It was a very special day, perfectly facilitated by YAS.

Went here for the first time while on vacation from Florida. We went with our family, as a friend of ours was performing there at a comedy night. We had a great night, lots of laughs. The guys behind the bar, were fantastic, so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely go next time we visit our family

Incredible venue and team – we had our wedding here in early June and can't sing the praises more of Steve, Ali, Russ and everyone who helped us at Yellow Arches. A unique space where no personalised request is too much, great catering, drinks and atmosphere and a calm, cool professionalism across the board that helped our day feel seamless. Our guests and we loved it. Thank you!

It has quickly become a popular hotspot in Sheffield's nightlife scene due to its blend of upscale ambiance and top-tier entertainment.
The day time disco on Saturday was amazing. All 12 of us who came had a good time. Even though they did run out of red stripe at some point which is my go to drink., but it was swiftly replaced. Always great to be in a place where you can see the team try hard to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. I can’t wait for the next one.

It used to be a decent place a few years back, but it seems to have gone downhill recently. Shame because I used to like it. The bouncers are very thorough, unless you're a mate of theirs, in which case you can walk straight through. Once through security, we had a card machine thrust in front of us with the entrance fee on it. No talking to us as they were more interested in getting chatted up by some bloke. Once inside, it was alright, and we got served relatively quickly. It was time for the people to see our moves, so we headed for the dance floor. We would have danced, but the DJ didn't seem to want to play more than 30 seconds of a track, and even then, it wasn't great. The floor fillers got about 10 seconds if you were lucky. Bit weird that there were random blokes continuely filming on their phones around the dance floor. Don't think we'll return.

Attended an afternoon 70s/80s event. Tickets are too expensive and not many people there. Downstairs room smells heavily of urine. Bar staff "forgetting " to put spirits in our drinks and the glass collector took our unfinished drinks whilst we were dancing. The 2 stars are for the fabulous 80s music.
Lesley J — Google review
Went here for an old skool bingo and the hosts were absolutely great and the music was good however I don't think I'd go back. The drinks tasted awful. Every mixer ended up flat or cheap tasting. Service did take a while and there were limited people in the venue when we went so I can't imagine how long i would have to wait if it was busier. The bingo I went to was also really expensive considering it's a similar price to bongos bingo and no where near as good

I was at the 70’s and 80’s day time disco on Saturday. It was brilliant, atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly. The Dj’s upstairs and downstairs were playing great music. And it was great to be able to switch floors at ease. I’m definitely coming back to the next one.

We attended a 70s and 80s event in the afternoon. 70s downstairs, 80s upstairs. It was very hot but the air-conditioning wasn't on. After a £15 entry fee, we were very disappointed that there were no drinks on draught and it was bottles only. The bottles were over priced. I queued for the toilets, then realised that the queue was unnecessary as the cubicles were free - but a lady selling merchandise had commandeered the sinks and the entrance to the loo. People couldn't wash their hands. On the plus side, great music. We left early.

Came here two Saturdays with my boyfriend. We've never been before, in our early 30s, like partying and been meaning to go. Luckily a promo guy encouraged us and we were happy we went. Music was on point, drinks weren't too expensive and it looks really pretty inside. Definitely will be going back

Scammed and were sold tickets for kojo who never turned up not to state not many people even come here and lastly music was so bad and only 3/5 were actually dancing cause they were drunk. Terrible scammers
Cheesey W — Google review
We were deceived that a show was going on and that the club is filled in with people and they charged £20 per person, with so much reassurance that we will have fun. Getting inside it was just the organizers of the show and no one else, we left to go to other places and still came back around 2pm still nobody it was as empty as what I couldn’t describe and only a south African dj playing. The workers and organizers are not truthful they lied to us so we could pay £20 each and that was it. Has a terrible experience and I’m sorry I won’t want to come around again with my friends.

AVOID. Was forced to pay £15 per person on entry, once inside was kicked out of our seats and forced to stand up the whole night. No seats available unless you’re VIP, when we asked about this we were fobbed off and told we had to book in advance just to sit down. Not to mention drinks were £9 each at minimum. (Mixers were flat) No atmosphere as VIP guests were sat with their feet up on their phones and we were shoved into a corner just to stand there. Will not be returning, trying to be a 5 star club with 1 star service

AVOID - Horrific customer service with rude staff over prices tickets, no seating areas unless pay for VIP, bottle of desperado for £6, after paying £15 entry. The soft drink mixers were flat. Never felt so ripped off

There is a good selection of vegan food, especially pizza. We came here for breakfast, ordered a vegan burger and avocado toast. The coffee was amazing! I am very picky about coffee, but this was the best coffee I have ever had. We came here for the first time and the staff made us feel comfortable. The prices are high, but it is justified by the delicious food and good service. Definitely 5 stars!
Didi — Google review
I was en route to Weston Park and spotted the Forum which is close to Devonshire Green. It’s a big venue but there was a board outside advertising coffee so I went and was directed to the coffee bar area down several steps (there is an entrance to the coffee bar coming in by the external seating area which avoids steps). I ordered an oat milk latte and sat on one of the high stools. I asked about gluten free cakes etc and the barista pointed out a chocolate brownie. This was in a display case next to other products, not correctly labelled with no cover or separate serving equipment. I advised the barista about this but got no response other than a bemused look. NB I am not coeliac but avoid gluten. The coffee was good.

Would recommend for any catering and work events.

St Mary's Church, located in Sheffield, England, is a Victorian gothic-style Church of England parish with a rich history. As a regular event coordinator that uses St. Mary's for a social enterprise, they cannot be nicer and more supportive of the sheffield community. Most places wanted to charge us loads and these guys have always charged us what they can afford to, knowing we are not for profit. The food is lovely and reception staff are the nicest in the world! It's just got it's heart in the right place which in this day and age, genuinely is just priceless. Long may it continue to be such a warm welcome here for whoever you are.

The Showroom Cinema in Sheffield is a vibrant and culturally rich independent cinema with four screens that showcase a diverse range of films, from mainstream blockbusters to art house and cult favorites. The cinema is housed in a stunning art deco building and features a foyer cafe/bar where visitors can enjoy drinks before catching a film. The venue also hosts live music and various events, making it a hub for the creative community in Sheffield.
A favorite cinema spot of mine going back 20 years ago for foreign, obscure, indie & awards contender releases, this is the best venue for a movie viewing with fellow like-minded people who are serious & respectful cinema-goers, not fools who turn up & ruin a screening with endless mouthing off & loony phone antics. After a one-two punch from Co-Vid & bouncing back from struggles with my mental health, I'm back in the saddle for venturing out to see new titles (what there are worth seeing on the big screen that is - do better Hollywood!), so my geek faith has been renewed by returning to this terrific venue. I just saw Guillermo del Toro's beautiful & moving take on 'Frankenstein' there which was even given a tongue-in-cheek introduction by one of their staff members before the lights dimmed. Count me in for the next 'Knives Out' feature!
Lee D — Google review
Somewhat alright cinema. The quality of the video was not even 4k and prices for food too high sound quite terrible as it wasn’t very loud but it somewhat made up for it because of the comfort of the seat and the quick line at the front. It also does smell a bit like old furniture.

Impossible to request a refund! We booked tickets online and unfortunately was unavailable and so I spent days in the lead up to the showing calling the number they provide on the website and no one answered. I emailed the email provided on the website regarding refunds and it kept bouncing back. Finally got through to someone on the phone who wasn’t very helpful and advised us to email the same email we had been emailing so it was the correct email address. Not helpful at all. Would not recommend booking with this cinema and will never again.

My fellow gig-goers were all cool and friendly, a real community vibe. Great stuff all round.

I was here a few months back to see balancing act, and i have nothing but nice things to say about this place. Me and my friend arrived in Sheffield very early, as we were unsure of venue rules and queuing regulations here, as we have both experienced different systems in different places before. After a while we met with some others attending the show and continued up to the venue, as (all of us not being from Sheffield) we were unsure of what to do, upon arrival (still several hours early) i asked staff what time queuing began etc, they informed us that the band had not arrived yet, and the show wouldnt start for a while, but we were more than welcome to come in, hang around and have a drink and stay for as long as we wanted. We went in and the place had the vibe of a proper music club. The venue is set out in a few different buildings with something of a courtyard area in the middle, which had beautiful outdoor seating, the bar area was spacious and the seating spread out. Someone was enjoying a birthday party in a downstairs area but the band could be heard throughout, which provided some nice live music to listen to during our wait. The drinks were decently priced, especially for a music venue with a variety of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, i personally enjoyed the beers on offer. The area in which our show was being held was a space that can be likened to a very large shed or barn area, it was intimate, which i like in a venue, and beautifully decorated. Overall lovely venue, friendly staff, nice drinks and good prices, would happily return again.

We held our conference party at Crystal Bar in July 2022 and hired the entire venue. Ash and his team were amazing, helpful, flexible and did their upmost to ensure our delegates had a great night. Thanks to the entrire team for all their hard work!

This place is such a good night, decent size dance floor, plenty of booths and seating options, big bar with reasonable priced drinks, nice clean and decent sized toilets, and always popping off

Both managers who work here are fantastic I paid 8 quid for tickets for semi final to find out it's free entry they admitted it was the fixr tickets company and they helped me straight away and said to come Sunday and sort me out free round of drinks. I arrived and different manager heard me straight away and was super kind and checked and even gave me free entry it's a beautiful venue and nice atmosphere 👌

R&B/Hip-hop music venue. We came early and got in without cover. Wish the tunes the DJ played were better/more current. Played some good oldies though

I hired house of Hugo for my sons joint surprise birthday party. And it couldn’t have gone any better. The books team couldn’t have done more to make my sons 18th and 21st birthday any better. Exceeded my expectations by far. And the venue is beautiful.

I hosted a 24/18th Birthday party last weekend and thanks to Cam it was a memorable night. It’s the second year in a row that I’ve hired the venue for my birthday and I look forward to many more. Big shout out to Cam for helping with the surprise for my younger brother and ensuring that everything ran smoothly. He even went to another venue on the night to get us a microphone 😂.

Nestled in Sheffield's industrial district, Hope Works stands out as a beacon of the city's vibrant club scene. This unique warehouse venue exudes a DIY spirit reminiscent of old-school raves, making it an essential stop for anyone looking to immerse themselves in underground music culture. With an impressive lineup featuring both local talent and renowned DJs from afar, Hope Works offers everything from summer courtyard BBQ parties to electrifying winter techno nights.
We just love this venue . Brilliant sound and a fun well set up space. There was even someone monitoring the bathrooms and loo roll 😂 which tbh is a high bar for a warehouse venue haha. The bday event had lots of fun extras like dancers etc and was decorated nice.

nice night great atmosphere would have preferred if they played abracadabra by Craig David ft. Wes Nelson. fine i guess
Ruth H — Google review
Been a few times. Would recommend you stay with your friends in a group. I wandered off on my own & ended up getting slung out by security randomly. Being asked if you've done something ridiculous while simultaneously being told that yes, you had done something ridiculous was quite surreal, stasi-esque & difficult to deal with after a few drinks. There's zero aggro here so likely security have to keep themselves relevant by inventing problems like dealing with snowball fights. Bit of a shame because it's decent otherwise but will probably go somewhere else next time
Grzegorz R — Google review
Always an amazing night. The venue itself is simply an empty shell with a bar so each event tends to build amazing and creative stages for the dj with different lighting every time. Reasonable value tickets, everyone is always very friendly, and no matter how long you want to party the event will most likely go until well after sunrise. Facilities and cleanliness could be improved, I always find it a little dusty in the main warehouse room.

With its impressive laser light shows and booming sound system, CODE Sheffield transforms into a pulsating dance floor where you can lose yourself to the beats spun by top DJs from around the globe.
Let me in 10/10 drunk rolling deep on MD couldn't even really see. Got in 5 fights within 20 minutes, essentially broke my collar bone twice, regardless staff were oblivious which was a bonus. Left my drink in the hopes someone would drop a mystery pill in there, turns out no one did so i threw a fit and left pushing the bounces as i went. Got a cheeky refund which was an added plus, love it would definitely go again.

The venue, Code, was listed as open on Thursday midnight, although it was actually closed when I arrived. After a 20-minute walk in heels, only to discover it was closed, the experience was rather disappointing.

Bar crawl on the 7th December 2023. Me and my two mates all had online tickets. Last entry says 2am. We turn up quarter to 2ish, no sign of how to enter or an entry point apart from round the back where we don’t get let in by some aggressive and uncooperative bouncer on a next-level power trip. Code is only a sensible choice for a night out if you enjoy wasting your money. If you wanted a good night out in Sheffield, then I would avoid Code so you don’t have to share the same disappointment that me and my pals had.

Came here. All good great place but were politely asked by a girl to move table to somewhere better - which was fine. Proceeded to move several other tables (around 3) which again, didn’t mind. Then a girl came over and took 4 jägerbombs from us and claimed we “stole” them. She moved them to the previous table we moved (“stole”) from. Drinks were there for 10/15 mins untouched (as they were ours). We explained to numerous members of staff, to which the girl ordered the shots were binned rather than returned to the owners (us). Waste of money and unfair not friendly at all. We have all worked in the hospitality/catering industry and understand if we did stole them how wrong that is, but we didn’t and therefore can’t understand how one person could be so unfair to their customers. Aside from her, all the staff are great and the atmosphere fun but she has ruined it and maybe better CCTV is in order indoors to see properly who’s drinks are who’s :)
S — Google review
All staff were rude & very unhelpful, especially the door staff. Only way to describe them is scum on a power trip. None of the staff are there to help you have a good night. Very much the attitude of we’re busy enough not to worry about upsetting paying customers. Definitely wouldn’t have stayed the night if it wasn’t for the fact it was a group of us and we all bought tickets. Anyone who’s given this club a good rating in the past must be working for the company or just don’t know what a good night should be like. TRUST ME...... AVOID THIS CLUB AT ALL COSTS!!!
Ashley R — Google review
Was worried about social safety, but with a great bar man like Adam my fears left quickly. A very quick, swift, friendly barman. He exceeded above all expectations. Had a bit of banter too. Would've given him a tip if he'd have let us.

Poor service and dumb way to need providing of your own Student ID with driving licence, passport and visa for no reason. If you are student of college and university, that your place to go. If adult without student ID, trust me this place is trash without have good reason to fight it right. So move on.

I used to be a student but i still like to go to clubs and code was such a good time, i would have preferred more of a distinct separation in music floor to floor because sometimes it felt as thought it blended it but i wouldn't say thats the fault of the djs who did a great job more just an issue of defining what each floors purpose is. all of the staff was lovely, i couldn't find the toilets and at one point i (a person with a disability) was helped tremendously by a worker named lyal really appreciate how attentive the staff were. obviously this experience was with just one staff member but if the others are half as good i would recommend code wholeheartedly.

Visitors can explore well-maintained landscaped gardens featuring tropical plants and colorful blooms throughout the year. This park and botanical garden is an absolute gem in the city! It's such a cute spot, and absolutely lovely to walk around. I was amazed to see so many people running throughout the park, no matter if it was sunny or raining. It's clear this place is a beloved escape for many.

Firstly, this is a free to enter venue. The botanical gardens are a beautiful piece of serenity within a large city. The gardens are stunning and laid out in a way that enables one to amble around relaxing. There are many varied areas with lots of different themes, all utterly gorgeous. We saw lots of squirrels that are so tame they can be hand fed. We also stopped at the café for a very welcome cup of tea. The gardens are definitely worth a visit.

Great place to visit and free too. We were pleasantly surprised, its really is a hidden gem. The Glass House is full of interesting plants and the gardens are really well maintained. The squirrels were very friendly and entertaining.

The botanical garden is beautiful in autumn, with trees in many shades creating lovely layers of colour. We went in the morning, and the squirrels were very active. Several even came close looking for food, which was really cute.

A great place to get away from it all. Some lovely walks around the gardens, loads of plants and trees (looks lovely). Most plants and trees have labels to help you identify them. There are plenty of seats in all parts of the gardens, some are in lovely quiet places. Spent ages just looking at the plants and listening to the wildlife. There is a cafe and toilets. When I visited the indoor part of the gardens were closed for maintenance. It is free to enter!
Paul “ — Google review
These gardens are absolutely beautiful. At certain times of the year, the vivid colours and patterns formed by trees, plants and shrubs are simply amazing. There are so many features in this garden, something for everyone. You can spend quite a lot of time here on a sunny day, enjoying the grounds, visiting the tropical greenhouse, the rock garden, and many more. There are toilet facilities on site. There is paid parking and also a few free spots if you can find one, or park further away and walk. Sheffield Botanical Gardens is a great place to visit, even as a day trip especially Spring time. And it’s free. Thank you Sheffield.

Wonderful place! I had a great day today walking, not crowded, people having picnics.. just a lovely relaxing day surrounded by nature's colours

A wonderful place to relax with family and alone. It's a beautiful view of different corners. There are a large number of different varieties of magnolia here, about 30 species, so it is worth returning here at the end of May. There is also an alley with roses, both old and new varieties. There is a greenhouse with a great number of plants, especially cool cacti, aloe which was planted in 2003 and looks like a tree, there are also banana trees. Admission is free here, but you can make a donation online. Also on the territory there are many interesting tablets with the history of the garden, which will be especially relevant for children in the study of biology and nature in general. There's a café and a parking lot.

Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield is a captivating destination that delves into the city's industrial history. Located on a manmade island with over 900 years of heritage, the museum offers interactive galleries and skilled craftsmen showcasing Sheffield's manufacturing roots. From steel-making to the mass production boom during the Industrial Revolution, visitors can explore various aspects of industry, including exhibits on knife-sharpening and a working 12,000hp steam engine.
Great museum, well worth a visit to find out more about industry in Sheffield. At 2pm they run the steam engine that is well worth watching. Free entry and accepts donations, don’t forget to complete your gift aid if donating. Staff were very nice and very helpful. Toilets are clean, well stocked and tidy. Cafe is good for a coffee and cake, like other museum cafes a little expensive but well worth it. There is a kids activity sheet to complete and some hands on exhibits and a little dress up area too so kids will like it here. Not one negative to our experience. Suitable for all ages. Free parking or 10 to 15 minute walk to town.

A wonderful museum detailing the history of steel making and the making of tools and of the cutlery trade in Sheffield. Helpful friendly staff. You can wander at your leisure or have guided tour. No entry charge but donations welcomed. Small car parking further on past the museum entrance. The Museum is a ten minute walk from Shalesmoor blue tram stop.

Nice visit to the museum with the kids, free entrance however donations recommended (cash or card) educational for the kids. They enjoyed looking and learning about the dofferent items on offer. Parking at the back, reasonable prices £1.50 for 2 hours.

A must visit for technology and history buffs when in Sheffield. While the museum is free, donations are welcomed. I spent a good deal of time here just exploring and absorbing the steel industry. Who knew that aside from armoury and steel plating, sheffield was also famous for cutlery and other steel based utensils including pocket knives! Friendly staff just enhanced the whole experience. You also get to see the huge steam engine made for rolling steel and which they turn on allow to run on Thursdays to Sundays. Check the times as I missed seeing it run having visited on Wednesday. Still an amazing site to behold!! Love the visit and I highly recommend it.

This is fantastic if you are an engineer or interested in the history of steel making. Lots of great exhibits the best of which are the large steam engine which you can see running it made me tingle watching it. Also a Crossley engine that turns over showing how these things worked plus plenty more things check out their website. Suggested payment is £5 which is frankly very low for the display on show. You must go

The Head of Steam Sheffield is a chain of beer pubs that exudes a trendy atmosphere and offers delectable street food. It is known for its dog-friendly environment, providing water kegs for the furry companions to enjoy. Housed in an old bank building, the pub boasts industrial-chic decor and ample space indoors or outdoors for patrons and their pets to unwind.
I always enjoy calling in here for a pint. A big old building which is nicely situated near the Crucible and close to the Novotel and Mercure, it fits in well. There's a nice big bar in the centre serving a huge range of drinks - including at least one gluten free beer on draught (my fave is Magic Rock's Saucery). The staff are pleasant and helpful when it comes to explaining the beer types. Although not tried so far, I understand they serve gluten free options in their food offerings. A wealth of TV screens surround the bar area showing sport, which has an added atmosphere when the world snooker championships are being played next door! It can get extremely busy, which is great to see so, if you don't want the hustle and bustle when getting to the bar, try a weekday afternoon for a more relaxed experience!

What a great bar! We called in with friends who wanted us to try it, they had visited before, it was an excellent recommendation. Well done everyone.

We are up in Sheffield for the weekend attending a wedding. We stumbled across this place by accident and we were immediately greeted and made to feel welcome by Ben. We didn’t eat but we were sat near where the food comes out and it looked and smelt amazing. We left to attend a function but made a point to come back where we were met by James, again, such a warm welcome. All in all both members of staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and look after us. Being avid beer and food lovers we will 100% be returning when we next visit. Thank you both for such a pleasant experience! A great selection of beers and an amazing vibe and atmosphere.

This was a lovely pub for drinking, with a design echoing the grandeur of a theatre! The winding lights are beautiful and decorations dotted around of different beverages add to the feel, counter is really nice with all the options clear there. I had a refreshing pint of Rekorderlig, enjoying the leather seating and table was clean too!

Great atmosphere in an old building in the heart of Sheffield. Huge selection of beers and ciders. We were there on a quiet Monday evening but they still put on live music - a three-piece jazz/blues band. Highly recommend if you're in the city centre and fancy tasting some unusual brews.

The service was excellent, and didn’t have to wait long to be served. The food was nice! I ordered Pizza - however it may be worth checking underneath , as it was overdone and not immediately noticeable until almost finished, since it was not the entire pizza , couldn’t really go back with it when it was almost eaten.

Whenever we go here it’s extremely noisy, sometimes to the point you can’t hear the person next to you. Although it’s a large space there’s often a queue at the bar to be served and it’s not very affordable. They do do a theatre discount if you show your ticket though. Convenient for the theatre but wouldn’t come for much else!

For football fans, Sheffield United's recent promotion to the Premier League has brought excitement to the city.
Fabulous venue. Never visited before-loved all the stained glass etc. The concert hall was really great- good sound, size etc. Holly Johnson and band were amazing. Brilliant night out.

Lovely theatre based in the heart of the city. Loads of eating places and bars outside so can get very busy at the weekend. Not a lot of interaction with staff as the set out of the theatre is clearly marked. Toilets are clean and tidy. Bar was busy but we were served quickly. Decor is beautiful inside and out. Cannot fault our visit apart from queuing outside and bag searching could be a nightmare on a cold evening.
Jacqueline S — Google review
Have been going to The City Hall for decades. Lovely building with great acoustics in main hall, lower Hall great for smaller events. Concourse is roomy and plenty of loos and bars, nicely refurbed a few years back, staff are always friendly and helpful. My one star is reserved because even though leg room is pretty good, the seats are fairly narrow, even for a venue of this size. Not the venue's fault, but changes in town centre have meant it's more awkward for performers to load in and out and it seems to have led to more dark nights as a result.
Bryan C — Google review
Been a long while since I have been set in a open pedestrianised square the building is very good. Met by courteous smiling staff who happily point you where you need to go. We were sat in the circle and had a good view of the stage and was able to watch a superb concert by Holly Johnson and his band. What made even more enjoyable was the leg room I have long legs and for once a venue that i didnt have to sit with my legs to my chest. Easy to get to and they have an agreement with nearby q carpark where you get a discount.
Paul D — Google review
Attended a few different events here now and it is always fantastic - easy to get to with the tram system and plenty of parking nearby. Drinks however can be a little pricey but you kind of expect this when attending an event.

Went to see Divine Comedy at the city Hall 16th Oct 25. Great location for a drink prior to the concert. Seats comfy with plenty of leg room. Great intimate space, with good views from all seats I'd say. Staff friendly and helpful.
M. R — Google review
We often go to concerts here, Jools Holland once said it had the best acoustics in the country. Staff including security are always friendly. My only gripe is the constant queue for the ladies, there should be better signage to the toilets in the downstairs bar which are nearly always empty. Other than that, a great venue for music.
Jane W — Google review
Fantastic show from Sandi Toksvig. Thoroughly entertaining. Great venue. The only downside is that the interval refreshments/service have let them down. No ice cream at one point after having queued for 10 minutes, the last time the freezer was broken and we were sent somewhere else and then this time we got some but it was Ben & Jerry's - such a shame when local, better quality is available and it was clearly old stock. To add to the woes the lager pump wasn't working properly. If this was once, it happens, but there have been issues on our last 3 visits. Shame!

The York, located in Sheffield, is a charming Victorian pub that offers a globally inspired menu and real ales. It's well-known for its traditional Sunday lunch, featuring tender meats like roast beef or pork shoulder served with all the trimmings. The gastropub provides equally satisfying vegetarian and vegan options. Dating back to the 1830s, it has retained its cosy interior with fireplaces, wood panelling, and plush leather seating.
Amazing flavourful food We had a fantastic meal at The York Karobar. The food was fantastic. Each dish prepared and presented beautifully. The flavours were outstanding. Each bite an explosion of flavour. A favourite we tried were the Fish and Pink Prawn Amritsari and the Butter Chicken Curry. The staff were very attentive and quick to answer any questions or offer advice. They were all friendly and welcoming. We will be back again for sure.

Re-opened with Indian cuisine in August 2025. The food was really interesting and reasonably priced. Typically I like a medium spiced curry when eating out but most of the dishes we ordered ended up overwhelming me with spice. The flavours we yummy and the range of food was unusual so it felt a little bit of ashame I wasn't able to eat more!

Dining at Karobar at the York was an absolute delight. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for a wonderful afternoon. The menu truly celebrates the richness of Indian cuisine, offering a mix of traditional favourites and dishes with a modern twist. Every plate was full of flavour, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. The spices were balanced just right like aromatic, bold, and authentic without ever being overpowering. The light bites were bursting with taste, the curries were rich and comforting, and the roti came out niceeee. What really stood out was the dessert . I had the chocolate fondant one and it was the perfect sweet finish to a truly memorable meal. Paired with excellent service from staff who were attentive and welcoming, it was the kind of dining experience you don’t forget. Karobar seems more than just a kitchen it was like an experience. If you love authentic Indian cuisine done to the highest standard, this place is a must-visit!

Really enjoyed our lunch at the York today. The food was delicious, really tasty and generous portions. Our party of five had the chicken biryani, railway lamb, butter chicken and prawn molli. Everyone said how much they enjoyed their choice. We all chose a mix of starters which were plentiful for us all to share. With drinks on top and sides of rice our bill came to £35 per head. We went as a group of 8, it was very busy but we didn’t have to wait much for a table. Great variety of food range, service was really quick for both food and drinks. Food was very delicious. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again!😁 Thanks for being a great host Vishnu.

We were really sad to learn the roast and pies had disappeared as this was a stellar menu and kitchen offering top food. And the name I thought was a little off putting initially, thought it was some sort of new karaoke initiative! That is until we joined The York for Sunday lunch yesterday. Everything was absolutely first class. The service was brilliant, so friendly, not overwhelmingly in your face but there when you needed anything. And the food. Made us pretty much forget what we thought we were missing. Absolutely perfect flavours, so fresh, interesting combinations and beautifully cooked. Spot on portion sizes. Literally nothing to fault at all. Great range of ales and even a fabulous low alcohol IPA on tap! Unbelievably good value as well. Cannot wait to return! Ignore the strange name! Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch.

The Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul in Sheffield, England is a beautiful building that has seen a number of changes and additions over the years. The interior features impressive stained glass windows, as well as a grand lantern tower that was added in the mid-1960s. The cathedral is one of only three Grade listed structures in the city, and it is definitely worth visiting if you are ever in Sheffield!
An absolutely beautiful cathedral with so much history attached to it. Even if you disregard the history it was just so pretty with all the stained glass. The pastoral staff were extremely friendly and more than willing to offer information on the church.

A surprising interior with ancient and modern designs. Good cafe with toilets. Side chapel and Crypt worth visiting while there. Right by Supertram stop and short walk from Station via Pond St etc.

The place is pretty nice and well managed. When I came, it was pretty quiet, which is nice if you wanna have a prayer. Then, there was someone playing the pipe organ/piano, so beautiful, adding good impression of the experience. The gift shop has some cute stuffs :)

The Millennium Gallery, located in Sheffield, England, is a modern museum that opened in 2001 as part of the city's Heart of the City project. Divided into four sections, it features the Special Exhibition Gallery showcasing touring exhibitions from renowned galleries like the Tate and Victoria and Albert Museum. The Craft and Design Gallery displays works by past and present craftsmen and designers, while the Metalwork Gallery highlights Sheffield's metal industries.
As a wedding photographer based in North Wales, the majority of my work is based around the countryside. When I was invited to shoot a wedding at The Millennium Gallery in Sheffield I was so excited. The ceremony was held in the gallery and it was an absolute gem for a wedding! Flooded with natural light it created the perfect conditions. The central location made it easy to explore the city right after the ceremony for some epic, cityscape shots with the couple. I’m now desperate for my next Sheffield wedding!

Always some interesting temporary exhibitions as well as long term collections. I have been to Feel Good Art Club here which is a lovely relaxed evening. Good spot to spend a bit of time with visiting friends or family.

Close to the Sheffield theatres and accessible from the Sheffield Winter Gardens, the Millenium Gallery is a small but very well curated space with some permanent and some temporary exhibitions all situated to one side of the Gallery. The space also includes a small shopping area with books, prints, jewellery and more for sale. The staff are lovely! Well worth a visit if you are in Sheffield for even a short period.

Millennium Gallery is a small but well curated collection in central Sheffield. We accessed it through the Winter Garden. Entrance is by donation. The gallery is informative and well signed. While our visit wasn’t long (under an hour) it was well worth our time. There is also a lovely gift shop. Exhibits and gift shop both tell some of the history and culture of the city. It was a great stop before seeing a show, as it’s right next to the theatre.

Gorgeous place. Love the botanical garden and the variety of exhibits on display. My personal favourite is the permanent Ruskin collection of natural history works. It’s also fab that they’ve recently introduced a place for local artists to sell their wares, as well as a pop up shop for small independent businesses.

We came to visit the Colour exhibition at the Millennium Galleries. We thought the curation was excellent - there was a great range of art, clothing, oddities and interactive exhibits. The blend of art, philosophy and science to explore colour was really engaging and there was something to appeal to people of all ages. The galleries overall sit in a lovely setting close to the enclosed winter gardens and were a fun way to spend a couple of hours.

It’s so worth visiting The Sykes Gallery Metalwork Collection for the incredible display of Sheffield metalwork. The skill set of Sheffield workers past and present on show is just magnificent. Also the short films made to show the process of metalworking are beautiful… Outstanding.

Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, managed by Sheffield Industrial Museums Trust, provides free entry to a historical industrial site showcasing the lives of 18th-century workers. The hamlet was once a major producer of agricultural tools and the largest water-powered industrial site on the River Sheaf. Visitors can explore Grade I and II-listed buildings such as the Managers House, Workers Cottages, and Counting House. Additionally, they can witness four water wheels in action every Wednesday.
I was so pleased to be able to visit this lovely museum on the outskirts of Sheffield. It had been closed over the Winter and it isn’t open everyday, so good weather, a train ride to Totley and I was able to visit. It’s free, but you are encouraged to donate if you can and if you are a UK tax payer please fill in the Gift Aid. The volunteers are lovely, welcoming and very knowledgeable. There’s a good amount of information in different formats which help when visiting the various buildings. These are old buildings so do expect steep and uneven stairs/steps both inside and outside, uneven flooring and uneven and cobbles outside. I didn’t use the cafe but it looked very popular; the loos are just through the arch on the way to the cafe. There is a very small carpark or you can arrive by train to Dore with a short walk or it is on a main bus route on Abbeydale Road.
Anne S — Google review
If you love wandering round historical buildings, this is definitely of interest to you. A little 'hamlet' of buildings full of amazing 'scythe ' making history. An introduction video, worksheets for children, small exhibition area and then the hamlet, waterwheel, traction engine and reservoir to see. This is a free entry museum, with a suggested donation of £5 - worth every penny. A cafe/restaurant (independent) on site. Parking (no height barrier) and toilets. Really really friendly and informative guides here. Couldn't be more enthusiastic. Also a great guy making sword blades, again, really informative and friendly. Most certainly bringing my 13 yr old grandson here, he'll love it.
Polly W — Google review
Been wanting to go here for ages. Very interesting detail to what went on here and those who worked here. Some buildings done to how they were and where they worked. Very interesting how it's explained how much they got paid and what coins they used makes you feel very lucky. Trust me well worth a visit with the kids or on your own. Nice cafe too just remember to leave them a donation please as there's no charge to Go around.

Took my nearly two year old niece here with my brother and sister, we all really enjoyed it! Really interesting way to learn about the industrial heritage of the city. There is even a little room of interactive things for children - dressing up clothes, colouring sheets and lots of play tools.
Sam B — Google review
This is a real gem on the outskirts of Sheffield in the beautiful suburb of Millhouses. It gives a fascinating insight into what made Sheffield the city of steel. When you have finished the historic bit the cafe is a real oasis ...I only had coffee but the food I saw on other tables looked delicious. Well worth a visit.
John D — Google review
The site looked like the most interesting one in Sheffield so I was very exciting to come here and I wasn’t disappointed. I had a delightful and educating morning with wonderful weather and absolutely amazing staff / volunteers. I came here with absolutely zero knowledge about steel and the process of creating tools and I leave with what I think a reasonably realistic. View of the working conditions.
Kerstin H — Google review
Surpassed my expectations, a real eye opener. Learnt so much. Need another visit. The staff were so friendly and helpful, this clearly a passion. You can really immerse yourself in the history of this hard and vital industry. No detail is omitted. Though it fell into decline at the turn of the last century it was revived for heritage sake and indeed played meaningful role in the war effort due to the exceptional quality of the metal it produced, not a great quantity (2.5 tons PW) but it was the quality that was important. When you see what the processes were, I think they were working flat out.
Vince — Google review
Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet is probably unique in that it was an early factory in the Industrial Revolution, but continued to work until it was rescued from demolition by Sheffield Council preserving it as a Living Museum. People can visit and experience something of what happened there over many years. The experience is authentic in that it hasn't been modernised, but it is safe for young and old alike to visit and have an historical experience of Sheffield's Industrial past.

The Common Room is a popular two-story sports bar in Sheffield, known for its American-style atmosphere and abundance of HD TVs for watching sports. The venue features over 50 screens and an American Pool room, making it a go-to spot for football fans. Additionally, the bar offers student deals such as super cheap drink prices and a 2-4-1 student night on Mondays.
We went into the common room to watch the F1 Grand Prix. We have been into several places to watch previous races in the past but they were lacking in atmosphere. However, the common room was brilliant, a great set up and I was surprised how many came to watch. We will definitely be back to watch further Grand Prix races there! (We didn’t eat there so I can’t review their food )

A good place to play pool in Sheffield. However, when it gets busy it can be a bit tight around the tables.

Visited on a weeknight, plenty of seating, friendly atmosphere and bar staff, enjoyed loaded nachos, which was a generous portion, it came hot and was very tasty and a burger with soft drinks, ordered via the QR code on the table, food came quickly. There are screens everywhere that had sports showing, so if you're easily distracted this one's not for you! The venue is accessible by a flight of stairs but the is a wheelchair lift.

Great beer bar, old pub modernized, menu looks good but I didn't try it. Nice back yard, nice mix of ages, locals and students, good beer albeit not super traditional. Bit of a local gem

🍺We always have a great time at The Beer Engine 🤩 They have a rotating selection of cask and keg beers, so there's always something new to try. We love a fruity sour in particular and they always have something great on. 🍲But the beer isn't the only star of the show - their global tapas is the perfect food to compliment a few beers! We shared a bunch of plates between friends, and everything was so flavorful and delicious. 🤤 My favorites were the Korean chicken and the delicious halloumi. The loaded fries are delicious too and a huge portion that's great to share. There's a bit of an Asian influence on most of the food due to their link with sister bars @tramshedbar and @theoldworkshopkelham host @dumplingcitysheff This essentially, is Dumpling City's tapas offering, and they smash it ! ✨The Beer Engine has a really laid-back vibe, and the staff are super friendly. They also have a great beer garden, which is perfect for enjoying a drink on a sunny day. ☀️ For more local reviews follow @sheaf_foodies on Instagram

I’ve heard good things about the roast at The Beer Engine so it’s been on my list a while to try. There is only one option available, it’s one choice for non vegan too, this time it was a Wellington with a lentil filling. Good selection of veg including cauliflower cheese. No Yorkshire puddings for the vegan dinners. Menu is a little confusing and it would be better to have a vegan roast option, rather than the vegan and vegetarian being listed together. They are looking into this however. They are happy to serve half portions if the full portion is too much. My friend did this and was able to try one of the puddings, the sticky toffee, and she really enjoyed this. 3 1/2 stars ⭐️ Would like to see a clearer menu and it would be good to have at least another roast choice on the menu too. Car parking available next to the pub which is paid for.

Amazing selection of craft beer, some regular, some specials. All the beers go well with the pub tapas style food which is reasonably priced and provides tasty, good sized portions. The staff are friendly, helpful and happy to help with suggestions.

Heard about this farm for years, finally made a visit and it is awful. Why? Graves park farm up the road, which is also free, is awesome! So it can be done! This place is smelly and dirty. The small animal house with guinea pigs and rabbits shouldn't smell. It's like someone's grotty allotments with junk everywhere. Look at the pic of the blue kids chair I posted and you get the idea. Never going again. True farmers would never keep their animals like this. The chickens smelled so bad!!! Left in less than 10 mins. We went up to Graves park farm instead. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had our wedding celebration at Saw Grinders and honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. Joe and his team were truly incredible — every single member of staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and the way they supported not just us but also our children meant the world to us. The food was exceptional — we had so many compliments from our guests about how delicious it was. People were also blown away by how fantastic the venue itself is and how warm and welcoming the whole atmosphere felt. We’re so grateful to Joe and the team for making our wedding day so special. It’s a day we’ll always treasure, and that’s largely down to the kindness, care, and effort they put in. If you’re considering Saw Grinders for any event, we couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

Great atmosphere and service with good food. This restaurant is located in the Kelham Island area, around 10 minutes drive from the city centre. The first thing I noticed was the lovely vibe and atmosphere the restaurant had, the decor added to the evening meal vibe. The staff were very, very friendly and accommodating and the waitress gave us notice when our food would arrive. The waiters and waitresses wore face masks which is very appreciated. The cocktails were pretty good, I quite enjoyed the cocktail I ordered, although I can’t quite remember the name of the drink. The cocktails were £8 each. The food was good, I quite enjoyed the bacon cheeseburger. There are a selection of free toppings to add, I added: Grilled onions, burger sauce and gherkins. The burger costed £8.95. The peri-peri french fries were nice, your typical french fries with seasoning. The fries costed £3.95. Overall, a nice place to have dinner or go on a date with the nice atmosphere, decent food and nice staff. I would probably come back if I was around the area.

The Gardener's Rest in Sheffield is so buzzing with life, a truly friendly and welcoming place, I loved the decor, the place has a lovely feel, and the views over the river are great. What makes this pub so special is that it's community funded. This means it was bought by a group of its regulars who raised money by selling shares to people in the community. It's owned and run by the people, for the people, which gives it a fantastic atmosphere and ensures it stays as a local hub. I was delighted when I was told about this! It's also completely dog friendly, which is a big plus, and they have a lovely Lilly's cider on tap. During the day there was some fantastic live music, and the crowd was just brilliant. This place is pretty cool, so many different things to do here like shuffleboard on the floor, Sports on TV, and a comedy show the night we were there. It is completely the vibe I like, very dive bar ish. Staff are all super friendly and knowledgeable about their jobs. There is a nice patio out back but it was raining the day we were there. We were there to catch up with friends and just relax so we didn't get up to any of the activities, but we did each have a pizza and shared some fries. Everything was delicious and my vegetarian Friends were happy! It's very funky here and I really like that, it's a fun place to hang out and socialize. If you use the Ladies definitely push the button! 😀

My partner and I spontaneously decided to go for food at Picture Social House. I was almost sure that we are not gonna be able to find a table without a booking and I was right. It was fully booked but the host was really polite and he suggest that we can sit on a bench and an old barrel was our table and it was actually really cool!!! We both had the beef pizza which was really good and the Henderson's fries which were an absolute heaven!!! And I am absolutely sure that they were home made and not from a packet because they reminded me of my grandma's fries from the olden days! 5 stars!!! 💜

Went here for food and drinks on a Friday evening, really lovely atmosphere and the staff were very welcoming. Pizza was amazing, new menu was great way more choices. We have the lamb pizza and the blue cheese and mushroom, both fab! Had poutine as well which was just as good! Will definitely be coming back

Different. But in a good way. I mean what other bars have beer, pizza, board games, table tennis, arcade machines, projector screen for football and what looks like a mini cinema? There is a good atmosphere and a good crowd. Sits very well with the area it's in. Well worth a visit.

Really nice place! It is definitely different and had a bit of edge to it. You walk down the stairs and there's the bar. They do some food as well and we had the katsu chips and they were lovely

In seach of a Sunday Roast dinner? This place hits the spot! HUGE portions, FRIENDLY staff, DELICIOUS food and drinks. A MUST TRY if you're in the area.

We booked the snuggle room for my best friend's birthday Sunday lunch. A prepayment deposit had been taken in advance. Very limited car parking around, but we managed to find one. Staff were alright, made foods and drinks order at the bar. We ordered beef topside, brisket, and three meats sunday roasts plus £10 for 2 sides. Beef brisket and beef topside were super tender and wonderfully tasted as cooked fresh. However, the three meats roast plate was way too disappointed as the stuffing was cold, pork belly slightly sour and tasted not right, gammon not tasty and the beef thick cut was so dried. I regretted ordering that plate. I left the whole plate of meats. Wedges potatoes cooked in beef dripping was hard outter unpleasant to eat. All in all, some good and some bad. Please don't serve customers where meats you were unsure or not freshly cooked.

A bustling pub, with a wide range of clientele. Service is efficient and the door staff are also chatty and welcoming. There’s a good range of stock and craft beers on and the DJ on the night played a good range of tracks at a noise level you could still converse at.

Nice boozer in one of the more trendy parts of Sheffield. Good selection of beers, including some locally produced Kelham Brewery beers. Typical pub grub is available (burgers, chicken etc) but didn't try any.

We went here for a Sunday roast after seeing it on instagram but it was really disappointing undercooked, hard veg, 2 undercooked (readymade) potatoes and flavourless thin gravy and no one checked how it was or cleared the tables or anything really the pie was ok 🆗 But it was £17.50 so far too expensive for a really poor meal! Overall no I wouldn’t recommend it or go back here much better places in Sheffield for a roast dinner! Sheffield vegan blogger 💚

Exploring Kelham while visiting my daughter. Dropped in for a drink and liked the look of the menu so much, we stayed for tea. Although we would like to try the Greek dishes, there is a pie offer on Tuesdays, so my wife and I both opted for Steak and Ale Pie with chunky chips. The pie, chips and gravy were superb - (5 stars). They were let down by the over-salted mushy peas (1 star), which would also have been excellent had it not been for the excessive amount of salt added. Nice beer garden, friendly and efficient service. Will definitely be back for food and drinks.

Good Summer vibes on the balcony. Liked the DJ mixing feel good tunes, but not so loud that you can't speak to each other. Not been in for years and really enjoyed the hot weather and real ales and tunes.

Nestled in the lively city of Sheffield, O2 Academy Sheffield is a prominent live music venue featuring two auditoriums that host an array of rock and pop acts as well as club nights. As part of the esteemed group of O2 Academy venues across the UK, it has become a significant hub for live events, including concerts and private functions.
Fabulous venue! Best sound I’ve ever heard at a gig. Great light show. Bar staff are really friendly and helpful. Brilliant security. Felt very welcome and safe. Bar is a bit expensive but that’s to be expected from this type of venue.
Paul G — Google review
The venue itself was very nice and spacious, they took great care in making sure the accessibility line got in first and got comfortable before allowing the others to join, which we were very happy to see (as not all venues have been as considerate). The staff were absolute troopers throughout the whole concert and after, constantly giving out cups of water and keeping an eye on the crowds, acting fast when someone had to be pulled out. Even after the show, they never rushed us to go out and were very nice to us! The only issue we had was that they gave us a numbering system with some bracelets and told us to come back at a later time, but then didn't actually make sure people were in line according to that number, so a lot of people ended up sneaking in the front, which was annoying. But otherwise, we had a great experience at the venue!

Nice venue, access was well organised and staff and security did a great job. Went to see Little Man Tate's reunion gig as a friend plays for them. Absolutely awesome reunion gig, hope for more. Drinks ridiculous, £10 for 2 bottles, £12 for 2 pints...

We were fortunate enough to see Dirty Honey for the first time when they were supporting Skillet and Alter Bridge at The House of Blues Orlando USA. They were awesome that night. We managed to speak with the band at their "merch" stand. Asking them when they were set to visit the U.K. We advised them to visit our local venues at Newcastle upon Tyne. Imagine our joy seeing they were going to tour in the U.K. Sheffield was closest for us. Undeterred we travelled down south to Sheffield. O2 Academy Sheffield was a very pleasant surprise. It was our first visit. It was certainly larger than what we had anticipated. The layout was also quite a surprise. There seemed to be a decent view of the stage from most places in the building. A balcony was a feature we haven't seen for quite some time. We saw Dirty Honey who were supporting Rival Sons. The performance at Sheffield surpassed their show at "Download " even. The acoustics were better than usual. Maybe the shape of the room helped. They were well received and played an enjoyable set. Rival Sons were equally a quality sound. Although to be honest, we haven't heard much from them. That is set to change. Had a great night , thanks to all concerned.

One of the best O2 Academy places in my opinion. I love how it is set out, say in comparison to Leeds. There seems to be a better view wherever you are standing. Loved it.
Elle R — Google review
Great venue for any concert, particularly for the high octane The Prodigy one that I attended. Plenty of bars with lots of staff contributed to short waiting times to be served, I offered to buy them a drink with my round which was politely refused, they wouldn’t even accept a tip. The toilets, chill out areas and upper levels were clean and refreshing. Lastly, I lost my phone whilst there but, incredibly, it was found in the clean up and I got it back the next day. The staff were extremely helpful when I contacted them to see if they had found it. Overall, very enjoyable experience.
Ali G — Google review
Sheffields best live venue now the arena has stopped putting live bands on. The venue and sound is excellent, but don't buy a beer whatever you do watered down and costs whatever the person serving wants to charge you as they make it up as they go along £28 for 2x 2pint beers! Let that sink in absolute rip off on the ale, the venue is good though

Went to see lovejoy with my daughter 1st concert I’ve been to and it was organised really well this place is smart the security are decent people really helpful I’m definitely coming back here again even though there is loads of drunken idiots hanging around saying that security did come down the line to check everyone was okay great venue

The Washington, also known as "The Washy," is a popular spot in Sheffield with a rich history dating back to the Industrial Revolution. It was once a refuge for workers seeking solace from their hardships. In more recent times, it has become a favorite haunt for local musicians and students. The venue hosts live music events and boasts a late license until 3 am, making it an ideal place to enjoy drinks and entertainment into the early hours of the morning.
Great little pub that has plenty of character and personality. One of my go-to places when I've finished a long shift. Staff are great and always welcoming. Good groups of people go here and never really had any issues when I've been. Amazing All around.

This review is for the record shop upstairs. It's possibly one of the worst second hand record shops I've ever been to. The stock is laid out in a horrible jumble, pushed together in tight racks causing damage. Most second hand stuff has no protective sleeves on so is getting endless browsing damage. The pricing is insane. Most records are priced above what they are worth, from tatty 7" singles that should be £1 for £5 to VG copies of albums priced beyond what a Mint copy has ever made. I understand adding a few pounds to things but they are often adding 50% on to the price There is a vast amount of stock and some great records in the shop it's a pity they are so badly stored and priced. Great little Aladdin's Cave style music shop, great selection of instruments and amps downstairs. Upstairs large selection of vinyl and some CDs. Could have spent hours looking through them all, generally well organised, good selection of reasonably priced new and used vinyl and some rarer items with higher but competitive price tags. Held back and just bought one Queen and Adam Lambert EP this time but will be back.

We went to support Saint Claire, great band and a great lil venue, friendly fun staff serving a surprisingly good choice of stuff! I drank Hooch! 🤣
Wes B — Google review
Great selection of records at a decent price. Now, the owner is a bit of a sardonic who, without much effort, can dampen the otherwise friendly dynamic of the store and its staff members. Not much has changed over the years. Not gonna get too annoyed because some people are just like that and I get it. Although it could definitely be off-putting to some people; the otherwise loyal customers who are clearly avoiding the place because of this reason.

Shocking customer service. Received a damaged item due to the pathetic makeshift packaging for a vinyl. No apology, no words other than a response with a return address then took a long time to process refund. Had to involve PayPal. Could have been resolved through conversation then negative feedback would not have been left. Not a pleasant experience. Seller then left me childish negative feedback. Pathetic

Neepsend Social Club & Canteen is a throwback to the 1970s with its retro decor and affordable prices. The venue offers a variety of comfort food such as burgers, fried chicken, and poutine for £12 or less. Visitors can enjoy games like darts and table football while savoring their drinks. The club also hosts entertaining events like Drag Bingo night with a hilarious drag queen, great beer selection, and tasty fried chicken.
Nice bar virtually in the centre of Kelham Islands bar crawl. Decor like a posh social club - dartboards, bar billiard table (I think). Basically craft keg outlet and food. Nice to chat with some customers and the bar operative in there on my visit a few weeks ago. I'd definitely recommend this bar if you are in the area. Highly recommended nearby - Heist Brewery, Factory Floor, Alder Bar. Please note it is not a social club .... no membership is required !

Came here for some chill work drinks after work on a Wednesday. Was extremely quiet so didn't need the reservation I had made in the end! I would guess that it gets very busy at peak times though given the area that it's in. Everyone really enjoyed their food and drinks, and the outdoor area too which was nice as it was sunny. The staff were also great about my allergies that I mentioned - the chef informed me that he just wasn't sure about the sauce on the burger so would I like to swap it for something else, which I appreciated - I would rather they be honest about any uncertainty! It made me feel really confident about what I was eating. Would definitely recommend coming here!

Great spot for grabbing a pint in Neepsend! The vibe’s laid-back with both indoor and outdoor seating — perfect whether you’re chasing sunshine or hiding from the rain. Staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home. Bonus points for being open late, which is always a win in this part of town. Plus, they’ve got dart boards if you’re feeling a little competitive after a couple of drinks. Definitely one to keep in the rotation!

Came here for the Sunday roast and it was absolutely fantastic and delicious. You get a lot for your money too (Sunday Roast £13). We thought the price was excellent. I went for the Lamb, tender and full of flavour. Staff were friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome. The interior was very cool as well, plus very comfy seats. Already recommending this place to others.
G R — Google review
Great food and service but I would recommend not going if you’re a Sheffield United fan! I went for the SUFC play off final, obviously the bar can’t control who goes in there and this is no criticism on the bar but during the second half of the match there were a group of Sheffield Wednesdays fans by the dart boards who were walking up and down cheering when Sunderland scored and being quite intimidating towards me and other united fans in the bar. Like I said it’s not the bars fault but if you ever want to watch a united match I’d suggest going elsewhere
Kimberley O — Google review
Excellent food and brilliant staff. Beer decent, but the whole place tries a bit too hard to be retro. Won't be a problem to most, but I have to knock a star off for it.

🍽️🍗🍺@neepsendsocial 🍺🍗🍽️ 📍Unit 2, 92 Burton road, Neepsend (aka Kelham) What a great addition to the area! Theming itself like a social club, you would be forgiven for presuming that food wouldn't be prioritized here, but you would be wrong- wow was it good! Unpretentious British food, cooked extremely well and presented beautifully. This place does the kind of home cooked style comfort food you really want to eat, and does it with a focus on flavour and quality. Prices were also very affordable and fair. It's a really fun chilled place to hang out, with great local craft beers on tap, games like darts and table football (that James won a match of by the skin of this teeth), and a really cool interior reminiscent of a working men's club but with a new modern twist on the theme. Staff were also super friendly and helpful -and there was Aircon! Food we tried - 🥚🥔 Cheese and leek rissole with a hendos egg, crunchy and cheese and the hendos egg went perfectly. 🫒🧀 Green veg with fetta on toast, fresh and delicious 👌 🍗🍟Chicken in a basket with chips gravy and slaw - I'm gonna say it - the best fried chicken I've ever had 😱 really juicy and crunchy with a sticky drizzle. The peppery gravy just made it too 10/10 meal. 🍖🌿Pork chop with bubble & squeak and cider gravy - super juicy tasty pork ! Caper herb salad made it spot on too. Another top notch plate of food. 🍧 Knickerbocker glory - one of the best puds I've ever had ! Yummy red berry compot, cream and custard and crunchy nut brittle and biscuit bits. Absolute heaven. Might have to get one just for me next time 😂 On another note we are so happy these guys went with the honest Neepsend name 💪 -Instead of all this extended Kelham washing. 😂 If you know you know 😂 Already planning my next work do here, and we will definitely be back on the regular. Make sure you get down before they are bursting at the seams with customers and you can't get a table anymore. Thanks so much for having us @neepsendsocial ! It really was excellent. Brilliant small venue. The lads on the door, very friendly and l got in very quickly, fast service at bar and then straight to front of stage. I saw Babybird as support, very good, and Echobelly, who were brilliant. Took me back to the 90s

Network seems like a small venue but THREE stages, multiple bars and clean toilets for a festival venue. Amazing night! In the middle of the night when it got pretty late however, it did get extremely dirty and smelled bad but didn’t ruin our night!

Could have been soooo much better The event was definitely not as advertised, no food vendors, cans only and warm ones at that for over a fiver each. Tidy it up a bit and get rid of all the old dirty broken furniture might be a start. Really wanted to like it and would definitely go again if it gets it act together

We saw Echobelly at Network and they were great but the bar was rubbish, with so many taps off. The toilets also need some work, they're not very nice! If they just made some improvements, it could be a great venue. And Sheffield is short on great medium sized music venues!

Advert for ska all day said various food stalls, no food at all. No draught beer, only tins & bottled. Toilet door had no locks in ladies. Came down from Wakefield for this event, bands were brilliant, but venue wasn't for me. Won't be returning.

Disappointing. Ridiculously dark and virtually no seating. Went to an all dayer and the bands were good but although it was advertised as food available there wasn't any, and no decent beers either, just cans and bottles. They have a facebook site but when we asked a question on their posting they didn't reply, so we emailed them and they didn't reply. Ignorant. Certainly wouldn't bother going there again.

0 stars they let underage children in without an adult, on events that clearly state they need an adult. They let 16 year olds in without an adult and even at the age of 14 without an accompanying adult! This happened to my child who ended up in a dangerous situation. Ive heard they are also accepting fake ids off 16 year olds and fake photo ids on phones. I will be reporting for childs safety reasons. Children under the age that is required on the website should not be able to purchase tickets let alone be allowed in the venue.

I went to an event last night at Dryad works. It's the first time I've been. The venue has a nice amout of space for live events and the sound is good. The reason I'm only giving a 2 star review is because one of our group had to leave early because there's no disabled toilet. It put a downer on our night. I'm not even sure if this is legal but should be a given either way. Portaloos were hired for the event, disabled ones are available for hire but still none were provided.

I’ve found this to be such a welcoming and safe space to explore music and dancing. I’ve met so many of my wonderful friends through gut level since moving here from overseas! Sheffield wouldn’t be the same without gut level <3
Jayden — Google review
An Appalling Experience – Unsafe, Exclusionary, and Prejudiced I tried to attend an event at Gut Level Sheffield on Saturday, 14th September, and to say I was appalled would be an understatement. From the moment we arrived, the entire experience was disorganized, hostile, and unprofessional, starting with the front-of-house staff and culminating with the manager on shift. After arriving with our tickets, we encountered issues with needing a membership, which we were unaware of. We questioned why this requirement wasn’t clearly highlighted or mentioned when purchasing the tickets for the event. Instead of addressing our concerns, the front-of-house staff was dismissive, impatient, and unhelpful. They immediately passed us off to the manager in a dismissive manner. When the manager came to speak with us, things only got worse. We were met with a barrage of microaggressions, being labeled "aggressive," "hostile," and even called "dicks." Throughout the staff and manager still seemed unwilling to accept responsibility for ensuring that event organizers and ticket sales properly communicate the venue’s policies and protocols. It was as if they couldn’t acknowledge that their needed to be any accountability for their fault and lack of management . The security team only made the situation worse. Their behavior escalated the tension unnecessarily, making everything feel more hostile than it needed to be. To add to this, I didn’t appreciate the security gossiping about the situation in front of us outside, whispering to someone else while looking directly at us. It was inappropriate and unprofessional. There were undertones of prejudice throughout the interaction. For a venue that is meant to understand and embody intersectionality, this was disgusting. The manager seemed to rely on stereotypes and assumptions about what an LGBTQ+ individual should "look like," and because I didn’t fit their perceived mold, I was treated with hostility. Their behavior felt performative at best. What made the situation even more disturbing was when the manager implied that, due to their identity, they felt intimidated by us? This assumption was made without asking anything about us or our backgrounds. As a queer person of color, I was stunned into silence. I was left feeling neither welcomed nor safe. The manager later admitted they were tired and frustrated from working long hours, as if that justified their behavior. We all have our own challenges and long work hours, but that is no excuse to treat patrons so poorly. In an attempt to salvage an already dire situation, they offered to let us into the event, but by that point I felt extremely uncomfortable and emotionally drained. Why would I attend an event in a venue where I had been told I was giving off a bad vibe and that my energy wasn’t a good fit for the space? Those words truly stung. I have only now mustered the strength to write these lengthy paragraph. I strongly advise anyone who is a person of color or doesn’t conform to stereotypical LGBTQ+ presentation to avoid Gut Level Sheffield. What should have been a safe and inclusive environment turned out to be one filled with judgment, exclusion, and prejudice. I will never set foot in this venue again and cannot support an organization that treats its patrons in such a discriminatory and dismissive manner.

Went on my own to check the place out as Sheffield's queer scene is lacking, it's members only but if you fit the bill and become a member I'm sure you won't be disappointed there's a friendly queer focused community atmosphere and I can't wait to return for future events and gatherings.

Amazing space, great people, this place has great potential. We are in desperate need of a place like this in Sheffield. QTIPOC cinema night is amazing as well.

Grateful for the environment and community that exists within and around the space, thank you 🙏❤️

Really lovely inclusive venue. Really nice layout with open air rooftop to sit out on when it gets too warm inside! Really welcoming staff and friendly, inclusive atmosphere

One of the most valuable spaces in the city, and I don't mean monetarily. It is worth far more than money can account for & a lot of people don't realise that.

Bar
Located in the Kommune food hall in Castlegate, ARIA Bar is a bookings-only establishment that offers handcrafted cocktails and a rotating 10-dish menu. The bar was created through a collaboration between the founders of Kommune and Campari, known for its cozy atmosphere, aperitivos, and local craft brews. In Sydney, ARIA Bar offers stunning views of iconic landmarks like the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
I’ve been to Aria bar on launch evening ! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the staff is really nice and professional. Cocktails are amazing (especially if you’re a Campari lover 😍). We’ve tried the slow cooked lamb and the beef sirloin and they were very tasty 🤤 The sweet whipped cream dessert was so good !! Will definitely come back !

I assume they've given up on the concept as we went on a Saturday night and Aria bar wasn't open and there wasn't table service. we didn't mind but we were led to our table and left and they didn't tell us our table number or bring us cutlery so we had to go find both. it is nicer seating than just kommune seating so they get a star for that. and the traders had to call us to work out where we were as they didn't know the table number. overall just book into kommune at least you will have cutlery on your table
