Cocktail bar
The Hockley Arts Club is a multi-level cocktail bar with various unique spaces, each offering its own distinct ambiance. The ground floor, known as Stockholm, features Scandinavian-inspired decor with deep leather sofas and warm carpets. On the top floor, the Electric Garden offers an exotic conservatory-style setting for enjoying gin and prosecco. In between these spaces lies the Blue Rooms, where intimate tables and private booths provide full table service.
We visited here as part of Nottingham Cocktail Week and it was one of our favourites so my partner decided she'd like to visit again for some birthday cocktails Great service and great drinks, it's a little pricey but no more than any other good cocktail bar and I feel like you're getting what you pay for so it's still good value
Jack G — Google review
Nice atmosphere and good vibes overall. The drinks on the menu were quite meh, personally not a fan of “non-classics” that are overly fruity or juicy. Luckily our bartender was “Cas” who guided our cocktail journey and made us some classics and some special “off menu” items. Recommend asking for a 1910 if you are served by him.
Marton S — Google review
The service was really good and attentive. I had a twister cocktail which tasted exactly like the ice cream lolly. It was incredible. I then followed up with a espresso martini. Again, this was great. It was table service. They are a little pricey but for the ambience, service and cocktails, it's worth it for sure. Very tasty and enjoyable.

Great little find in Hockley! Amazing cocktails, the gentleman was impeccable! Would recommend for those who like a cocktail with a difference!
Lynette O — Google review
Such a great place for delicious drinks! You can choose between three floors which have different vibes (Stockholm is more for dancing, The Blue Rooms is great to chill and chat in a very cosy, warm atmosphere, and The Electric Gardens is perfect to chat and hang out in a nature oriented decor). The cocktails are slightly different between all three venues (although a couple of drinks are available on all three menus). The staff is super friendly. My personal favourite is the Blue Rooms. The cocktails are honestly amazing and well worth the slightly higher prices. Even when a drink isn’t quite what one would go for, they still taste great, perfectly balanced and full of flavour! Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a chilled vibe and delicious drinks.
Marjolaine L — Google review
Used to be a really good bar. Now serves cocktails from pre made mixes, then the staff shake them like they are making a cocktail from scratch. Price is like they are making them properly. Really disappointing! Used to be a hidden gem in Notts! Now shocking tbh
Tom P — Google review
The vibe felt off as soon as we walked in. Two members of staff looked directly at us while we waited to be seated, but carried on chatting to their colleagues rather than acknowledging us. Eventually, we were seated at the bar, where the barman asked if we’d been given menus (we hadn’t). He then asked a blonde staff member - Alice, I think—to bring us some. She rolled her eyes and did so reluctantly, which we later realised was because her shift was ending. Regardless, that’s not a professional look in front of customers. When my partner placed the menu on the bar, the barman asked us to remove it in a passive-aggressive way. It wasn’t clear why he couldn’t have just moved it himself, but the way he said it came across as unnecessarily rude and uncomfortable. The drinks were fine, but overpriced and nothing memorable. The real issue came later: my husband left early, and as he was walking out, a staff member actually chased him down and demanded payment. He tried to explain that I was settling the bill, but was treated as though he was lying and pressured to pay on the spot. He messaged me afterwards to let me know, which meant I didn’t need to pay again but by that point, the damage was done. I left feeling humiliated and unwelcome. The atmosphere was neither friendly nor inclusive, and unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Great bar with a fun vibe! Alice was amazing — friendly, quick, and made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!

Coco Tang -Asian Cafe is a trendy spot in Nottingham, UK that offers Vietnamese dishes, Asian-style cakes, and cocktails. The bi-level space includes outdoor seating and operates from 10 am to 4 pm on weekdays, with extended hours on weekends. Visitors praise the homemade hoisin and fish sauce along with the homely atmosphere and service. The cafe's rooftop garden provides an ideal setting for enjoying sunny days.
I saw a recommendation online for Coco Tang and it lived up to its recommendations. We decided to order the seafood platter, sirloin steak and with rice and the pork Vietnamese fried spring rolls. Every bit of our meal was super tasty. Our 3 year old loved every bit and was very keen to eat all the prawn summer rolls and sirloin steak! We also ordered desserts after that came beautifully presented and yummy to eat. The Service was great and the drinks matched the deliciousness of the food! The toilets were very clean and the decor of the whole restaurant & toilets were beautiful. We can’t wait to come back again.

If you come to notts for food it is a must visit. great selection of food and drink. The staff is excellent. I have both eaten in and had a take out, the quality doesn't dip. worth every penny

This place is full of great atmosphere, delicious fresh food beautifully presented on the plates. Everything was fresh and full of flarour. Great choice of food, the menu has variety of everything. Lovely desserts. Great choice of drinks and moctails. Drinks and moctails are delish! All reasonable prices, including the food. The staff were absolutely great, very attentive to order details, very friendly and helpful. Despite it was very busy they were very efficient and the food was served very promptly. The atmosphere of this place is just unbelievable. It's chilled with music in the background. What it's really worth seeing if the roof garden- if you're lucky with the weather and table available there, you will soak the atmosphere of this place even more!

Good vibes and good food and attentive staff (to the point where you get a seat as they want you to order right away)🤗. But yes, definitely recommend. Seen it online so I thought I might try it since. Though quite disappointed as they don't serve egg coffee anymore.

Finally managed to get a seat at Coco Tang! It’s been on my list for three years, but every time I’ve gone. The queue’s been ridiculously long. After waiting eagerly for over an hour, my friends and I finally got seated and ordered the pho. The taste wasn’t quite what I expected, and the price was on the higher side, but I’d still love to go back and try other dishes from the menu. The vibe was lush beautiful interiors and even the desserts on display while waiting in line were super tempting. Because it’s always so busy, the service was a bit slow. The pho didn’t quite hit the mark, but the restaurant itself was definitely impressive.
Priyanjana K — Google review
Coco Tang in Nottingham is a vibrant spot that delivers a memorable dining experience with every dish. The meal started with a refreshing green papaya salad with prawns, which provided a zesty, light, and invigorating start. For the main course, the Ultimate Pho Bo impressed with tender slow-cooked beef rib and oxtail, all simmered in a signature rich broth deeply infused with traditional aromatics—perfectly balanced and aromatic. Dessert was a standout: the pistachio & raspberry choux was an absolute heavenly treat, showcasing the skill and creativity of their baker, Erica. The house drinks selection is equally impressive—choosing a passion fruit cooler added a sweet and tangy twist to complement the meal. The restaurant itself is a buzzing, vibrant place with unique decor and plenty of atmosphere, while the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive. Even the facilities stood out, with toilets that were very clean and well presented. Coco Tang deserves high praise for both its culinary quality and its warm, welcoming environment.
Milan M — Google review
I had this many years ago and wasn’t impressed so thought to give it another go since I’m in tje area but again the food just wasn’t great. Had ribs as a starter which was okay and ordered 2 pho: a mixed beef and a short rib pho, which in my opinion is really disappointing, the broth was so so not the richest, the noodles tasted out of packet and had a weird taste and the side veg like bean sprouts and lemon wedges weren’t fresh either. The service was nice enough and decor was great too just which they would hone in on the food part.
Yanners — Google review
Absolutely phenomenal establishment, i travelled to Vietnam in 2024 and the food was definitely on par with the delicious food I had there. The menu was creative yet not overwhelming, my friend and I shared the vegetarian platter and it was everything we could’ve hoped for. Delicious salt and pepper tofu and friend spring rolls and fresh salads. What a dream of a place

Live music venue

Night club
Rock City is a renowned independent stage that has been showcasing up-and-coming bands since it opened in 1980. Over the years, it has hosted iconic acts like Duran Duran, The Smiths, Guns 'n' Roses, Nirvana, and many more. With two stages and multiple bars, the venue offers a fantastic live music experience. It recently won the Best Major Club award at the Live Music Business Awards 2019.
From American to the UK to follow a tour- this was my last show in Manchester. Not going to lie, it was very crammed and the place seemed to be falling apart and maybe a tid bit haunted BUT I hear tons of iconic artists have played here over the many many years and that made the experience even cooler. It did feel quite intimate which I loved personally. Security was on it too! The queue was well organized and there’s nice hotels to stay within short walking distance. Super freaking insane, I bloody LOVED it!
Megan S — Google review
Great venue with great unobstructed views of the stage. Up close and personal. Friendly staff. Great location in the city with tram stops a short walk away. A premier inn is less than 5 minutes from the venue too which relieves the thought of having to drive home straight after the gig. We saw The Lathums supported by Arkala. Great gig, great venue.
Mick G — Google review
Been to many gigs here and the layout is actually decent for a show. Quite a few big car parks near by, plenty of restaurants and bars for preshow. The view from most places in the venue is good too. Most recent was New Found Glory.
Matthew C — Google review
I’ve never felt so humiliated trying to go on a night out. I bought my ticket online for Rock City, showed up excited, and after showing my ID I was asked who I was with. When I said I came alone, the bouncers told me “no single males are allowed in tonight.” What makes this worse is that I know there are nights when single males are allowed in — and that same night, I saw British men walk in on their own with no issue. For me, as a Romanian, I was turned away. It felt like I was given an excuse, but the real reason was clear: I was treated differently because I am foreign. To pay for a ticket in good faith, only to be refused entry while others are let in, was humiliating and discriminatory. This isn’t just poor customer service — it’s unfair and unacceptable. I left feeling embarrassed, angry, and unwelcome. Nobody should ever be treated like this. The big guy with tattooes and the one near him refused my entry.
Claudiu S — Google review
First ever visit to Rock City the other week for WASP. What a venue! Love the fact that security just scanned everyone in quickly and left people to it, rather than getting all over involved like Showsec do at other venues. Parking so close, perfect! Will definitely be back!
C T — Google review
Good: The staff were great, really helpful in getting a seat side stage and helping me get in. A good view across the stage about 15-20 metres away. Acoustics ok for being side stage. Staff going round during the show to collect rubbish was something I have not seen in other venues. The room was free from the usual dropped plastic cups you see elsewhere. Top marks for that Bad: I needed a disabled parking space and the nearest I could find was a couple streets away. Walking into the venue, there were about 4 lots of stairs to get into the concert room. So not great on crutches. I tried phoning the venue 4 times on the day of the show to ask management about accessibility, no one answered nor returned a call even with 3 messages left. That was a bit rude... Ugly: The place looks like it could benefit from a lick of paint and a refurb. Just seems dated in places. Reminded me of old cinemas when I was a kid in the 90's. Overall: Worth 4 stars for the staff. But if you have a long drive to get there, especially if you have accessibility issues, plan ahead.
Keith P — Google review
Great gig, queue before doors open was long but well organised and stewarded, the line for those who needed special assistance similarly seemed well organised. It went down very quickly when the doors opened as bags had been searched while in the queue by two very polite and courteous security guys. Went as a lone young woman and never felt afraid or unsafe- queue for the bars weren't long even between sets, the toilets were clean (cleaner than when I've been in on nights out!) but as they were busy did run out of loo roll so maybe stash a packet of tissues in your pocket. The gig was great, definitely busy but never felt crushed or overcrowded, and water was passed through the crowd when it began to get hot. The merch counter was also well staffed and everyone was very friendly. I've been on club nights also and definitely one of the best clubs I've been to, great place, even when it's rammed it never feels unsafe- with security and safety team in the bathrooms and checking on anyone who's been in a cubicle for a while. The drinks aren't too badly priced and you generally don't have to wait ages to order/get your drink. Tunes are amazing and one of my favourite places to be!
Alex C — Google review
Band was amazing (Spacey Jane) and the venue space was great. However, on this night the sound of the band was so quiet you could barely make out what he was singing or saying over the band, which was still fairly quiet for a concert. The volume of the support act had been perfect so it’s not a venue issue but me and my friend actually moved closer to the stage to see if it was just where we were (it wasn’t). Very disappointed in this as we spent money to hear the band and didn’t get the full experience.

Nestled in a charmingly converted lace factory, The Lacehouse offers a unique blend of history and modernity that sets the stage for an unforgettable experience. With its exposed brick walls and eclectic seating areas, this venue is perfect for both daytime relaxation and vibrant nightlife. Guests can indulge in an impressive selection of rums, cocktails, and world beers while enjoying live music or DJ performances that keep the energy high.
The food was beyond awesome! These guys import some of the best produce and it shows! My time here was great. I met the owner who is extremely chilled and a great host. I felt very welcome within minutes. Shortly after arriving an aspiring magician performed some amazing tricks and made the wait for food pass by in moments. Some of the staff joined in and before I knew it I felt like a regular. Would definitely go again and I think the food gives Annie's a run for its money. 👏⭐🌟🌟🌟🌟🍕

They do have a great selection of rhum and the staff is friendly. One little thing that bothered me is that they kept changing the music in the middle of songs. It kind of killed the vibe when they put the same spice girls song on 3 times in a row.

Came here just after lockdown and was greeted by the friendliest team. The venue, the food from Happy Dough Lucky and cocktails were all spot on. The Lacehouse is the best bar in Nottingham and Happy Dough Lucky the best Pizza in Nottingham

My husband and I visited from Somerset and booked a table for brunch for my birthday, we were slightly skeptical when they had called us at 10pm and 5/6am to tell us they had to push the booking back a few hours. When we turned up and realized 1 man had been left to cook pizzas, make cocktails and do table service all on his own, coming from a hospitality background, we could completely empathize. This man deserves a medal. 5 stars simply because of the manager Rob. After clearly experiencing a staffing problem he ran that place single handedly when most places would have closed. I can not compliment this lovely Geordie man enough, I hope that they finally find the right bar team to back him up because he's a legend. Stuff happens, nothings ever perfect but how Rob dealt with the situation earns him 5 stars.

Attended a private event here, felt very run down and tacky. Drinks very very expensive.
Chris H — Google review
Terrible service. Originally booked for 8pm and was a few days before to be told that it "shouldn't have been possible" on their system, and that we were being moved to 9pm. On entering could see that the venue was reasonably busy, so ordered 2 drinks each. Drinks took 30 minutes to arrive and we were only given 1 each. Waitress said that they were on the way but they did not come. Ordered a second round of drinks that were also never delivered before our reservation was over. Was told that we would not receive any of our deposit refunded even though we were there for over an hour and were only served 1 drink despite ordering many. When complaining on the night the staff seemed confused saying that they did had not been busy and admitted that the were in the wrong, despite this they refused to provide any compensation. Additionally they charged us £68 for a two person reservation, when they advertised it as £30 per person. Some bars have re-opened and made the best of a bad situation - this one has not. Best stay away, we lost £50 to this con.

Stealth Nottingham is a renowned nightclub in the Midlands, known for its vibrant atmosphere and top-notch sound system. Since its establishment in 2004, it has become a popular hotspot for students from both of the city's universities. The club hosts various genres of music throughout the week, featuring guest DJs such as Annie Mac, MK, and Disclosure.
I found a video from this club in 2010 on my dads old camera it looks so fun i definitely want to visit and have an experience of my own. And I wanted to share the video❤️🤗

been a few times. got very badly spiked there - ended up in hospital and police reported and said there was another police report from that night for another spiking. charges for spiking got dropped as ‘not enough evidence’. seeing the photos and videos of me (i have no memory obviously) i was very clearly spiked but bouncers turned a blind eye. staff are quite poor and defo gets oversold and too crowded on some nights. the average scene of it is rough and not somewhere i would voluntarily go to now. since being spiked i’ve only ever been back to certain event nights and have mostly enjoyed but had to have such a high guard up which hasn’t been great. not somewhere i would recommend just for a club night out. drinks are expensive too.
Enji E — Google review
So I have been to stealth a fair few times as they regularly have a good DJs on that I’m a fan of, atmosphere usually good for these events. Drinks a little expensive but it’s a club so it’s expected. Anyway I went out for NYE and I went straight to the bar to get a drink (single disarano and coke) in a small cup - I put my card to the machine but the price was still loading. It went through at £12 and I was thinking that’s bloody expensive for a tiny single drink. So I checked Apple Pay to make sure it was £12 and it was so I asked the bartender and she said it should’ve been £5.50. And I said okay, but it was £12 (showed the charge on Apple Pay and explained it was £12 on the machine). She asked if I wanted another drink or a refund to which I’d have to come back later for, but at that point I wanted a refund because her attitude was not on. She then proceeded to roll her eyes at me and said “are you joking, fine I’ll get my manager”. Her manager comes and shows me the receipt as 5.50 on the machine, which I say fair enough but it was £12 on my Apple Pay and on the machine which I saw (customer is right should apply here and I know this as I work in retail), I was also very pleasant in speaking to them. I also add on that it’s quite hard to input £12 instead of £5.50 which makes me think that she did this on purpose. But the manager was a bit nicer and refunds me, but I didn’t know if it’ll be £12 or £5.50 refund, she didn’t know either (ended up being £4.90) so she charged me again so I basically lost £7.10. Overall I was treated like crap and didn’t even get a full refund so I can’t recommend the place for other than the DJs

Should I join tonight? Solo! I look NO trouble! Is this the club whose making my style engaged for the "BEAT\(^^)/(^q^) ??? <3
Andrei G — Google review
I paid £5 at the door on a Saturday night to get into this club. I hadn’t even ordered a drink yet and i was only on my first drink of the night so still very much sober. When i went up to the bar after being in there for only about 5 minutes, two bouncers (a woman and a man) proceeded to tell me i was too drunk and that i had to leave. They had apparently spotted me on the dance floor and i was swerving. I absolutely wasn’t, again i was very much sober and there were plenty of people around who were in fact very drunk. Besides even if i was a little drunk isn’t that what people do when they go out? Anyway would not recommend and i won’t be going back.
Isobel B — Google review
An absolute joke , had a friend thrown out for "being too drunk' when they got knocked into by a security guard trying to get past. despite having been only in for less than 10 minutes nope didn't matter ' he was wobbling about drunk" even though the guards knocked into him, yet the people doing powder off of their keys literally almost Infront of them remain unbothered and happy . 1/10 , alright music , had to purchase entry ticket twice.
Nahum B — Google review
My friend was charged twice for a drink and when we asked the bartender about this she tried to get me kicked out. The security were then very handsy and I had to tell them numerous times to stop touching me and eventually they did. I managed to convince them to let me stay but when we told the incident to another bartender to sort it they got me kicked out again. I spoke to the security and the front about the other security inappropriately touching me and it as extremely triggering for me, they said it happens all the time… That’s not exactly what you want to hear. They also told my boyfriend to “control your girl” which is completely outrageous. Definitely don’t come here!
Grace F — Google review
Heard bad things about this place but went in on Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised. Good vibes, staff in the venue all very friendly and was a good night out. In particular I had concerns about the security but they were all professional and had a laugh with customers. There were two security at the front, didn't get their names but they were great and the bouncer in the RnB room Nathan was helpful and assured me we were safe at the venue when I mentioned I was put off coming and we had a great night. Cheap drinks too so good for students.

It's one of the oldest BrewDog venues in the country and is known for its extensive collection of craft beers, including regular guest brews. The venue offers beer school experiences where participants can learn about the history and process of creating signature brews. Additionally, visitors can enjoy craft beer, ales, and burgers at this popular spot in Nottingham.
We had a wonderful time at the Brewdog Nottingham as a family. We were met by 2 extremely helpful and friendly young men who helped my elderly parents with seating and explained the menu really well. We all had pizzas which were absolutely delicious and a flight of beers. Everything was fantastic, thank you. Laurence and his colleague were brilliant, they were A) Legendary B) Charming C) Worthy of a pint and D) ALL of the above!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🐾 🍻 We recently held our very first dachshund charity event at BrewDog Nottingham, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, the team made everything seamless and stress-free. A huge thank you to Jenn, the manager, for not only donating the space to us but also organising an incredible fundraiser of their own to support our charity—an amazing and generous surprise that truly meant the world to us. We also want to give a special shout-out to Joe and Cam, who were absolutely brilliant on the day. Their support, energy, and kindness helped make the event such a success. Our supporters had a fantastic time, and we’re so grateful to the entire BrewDog Nottingham team for helping us pull off such a memorable day. We can’t wait to come back! 🐾🍻

Both Joe and Sophia were very attentive and welcoming. We popped in for a drink and a bite to eat, and didn't expect how good the pizza was (Joe top work). Both my wife and I would recommend coming back, thanks for making our wedding anniversary quick drinks perfect.

Had lunch here today. Joe was great and made some really good pizzas. The nachos were good but not amazing. Atmosphere was OK but we were the only customers sat inside the whole time we were there.

Dropping by for a pre-theatre drink. Great choice of keg beers and samples offered freely. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Nice buzz to the place even early evening in the midweek.

Great service from Joe, who had a wealth of knowledge about all the beers on offer. Joe was running the whole place solo (it was Sunday lunch time and fairly quiet) but still managed to accomplish everyone’s food and drinks orders, preparing and cooking our food himself whilst also engaging with all the customers that came in during our visit.

Cocktail bar
Bar
Be At One in Nottingham is a lively chain bar known for its sweet, sour, and spicy cocktails. The venue offers mixing masterclasses and has become a popular destination for cocktail enthusiasts in the city. With over 90 different cocktails on the menu, visitors can enjoy a vibrant energy and dedicated bartenders.
ZION OR HEAVEN ON EARTH GABRIELLE - THE BARTENDER - THE ANGEL THAT TENDERED TO ME Walking into Be At One feels like stepping into another dimension—one where the worries of the outside world melt away, and you're left with nothing but good vibes, great drinks, and an atmosphere that can only be described as heavenly. Gabrielle, the bartender, or should I say, the angel, was more than just someone behind the bar—she was a guide through the world of mixology. With a warm smile and an effortless charm, she made the experience personal, almost ethereal. You could tell she loved what she was doing, and it showed in every carefully crafted drink she served. And speaking of drinks, I went with the Raspberry Beret, the most popular cocktail on the menu. It’s been holding its place for at least five years, despite the menu undergoing at least three changes a year. That says a lot about a drink—it’s not just a trend; it’s a staple, a legend in its own right. The blend of flavours was smooth yet exciting, familiar yet surprising. It’s the kind of drink that makes you savor every sip, appreciating the craftsmanship behind it. The bar itself radiates a golden glow, reflecting off the endless bottles lining the shelves like treasures waiting to be discovered. The dim lighting, the pulsing music, the buzz of lively conversations—it all comes together to create an environment that feels electric and intimate at the same time. Whether you're here to unwind, celebrate, or simply soak in the magic of the place, Be At One doesn’t disappoint. It’s more than a bar; it’s an experience, a sanctuary, a little slice of heaven on earth. And with Gabrielle behind the bar, you know you're in angelic hands.

We've been in here when it's been busier than today's visit, but we've always had good service and good music! The bar man (sorry, didn't find out his name, didn't want to be too forward lol) found out what we were looking for in a cocktail 🍸 and made our drinks to our taste. 2-4-1 cocktails at this time of day (have to be 2 the same) felt like a nice bargain (£22 for 4 cocktails). We had a chat at the bar, then enjoyed our drinks and the music (mostly 80's and 70's classics) I couldn't rate the place for food as there were no menus. Recommended to visit here!!

Yesterday I was treated to a cocktail making session by my friends as part of my 40th Birthday celebrations and I had a blast! Atmosphere was fantastic and such a wide range of cocktails you can choose to make. Im mainly writing this review though to give a massive shout of to Nate! He made the experience! He was funny, friendly and very knowledgeable on the cocktails. He made us all laugh and feel relaxed while before the bar. Big thanks to everyone 😍

Came to sample a lovely Margarita as the student offer is £6 on a Monday to Wednesday. Was met with the most friendly bartender called Nate and he had knowledge of what various drinks were deliciously spicy as that was what I requested. After hearing that he could provide spice personified, I had to sample his goods and he didn't disappoint. He did a spice verde Margarita and a mango chilli marg...both made with passion and delivered with flavour! I would highly recommend Be at One and ask for a delicious cocktail 🍸 😋

Great Cocktails and Even Better Service I stopped by Be at One in Nottingham on Saturday afternoon and had a brilliant time. The atmosphere was full of positive energy, with great music and a really friendly feel throughout the bar. It is the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and ready to enjoy yourself. The cocktails were excellent. Every drink was well made and full of flavour. There is a wide variety to choose from, so whether you prefer something classic or a bit more adventurous, you will find something you like. What really stood out was the door supervisor, Ray. He greeted us with a smile and made the whole experience feel welcoming from the very start. It was more than just good service. He made a genuine effort to ensure everyone felt comfortable and looked after. Ray absolutely deserves recognition for the way he represents the place. If you are in Nottingham and looking for great cocktails, good music, and a friendly atmosphere, Be at One is well worth a visit. I will definitely be going back.

Nestled in a charming alleyway called Hurts Yard, 400 Rabbits is a vibrant bar that specializes in tequila and mezcal cocktails, all served up with a splash of funky Mexican flair. This unique spot has made headlines for its playful approach to regulations, even dubbing itself the "Church of the Four Hundred Rabbits" to stay open during strict lockdowns.
Lovely corner inspired by Mexican culture, specialised in tequila and mezcal. It used to be one of my favourite spots before Brexit and I'm super glad it still goes strong. It has an upper floor for larger groups and there's also a cute corner where to play retro arcade games. It's worth giving it a try during happy hour (5-8pm) when all cocktails are £7/each

A cosy and casual yet vibrant, through the gift shop feel to this Mexican themed cocktail bar. Friendly and very helpful staff making superb drink recommendations. Jen was excellent and I put my drinks fate firmly in her hands, barely making a choice myself which proved to be the best decision!! A must for tequila lovers and those that only know the spine shuddering salt and lime experience alike - even their house shot is smooth!

A tiny tequila cocktail bar hidden in the alleyway. Have great tequila selection out there, creative with cocktails and its presentation. If you are not a tequila lover, do not worry there is a cocktail for everyone. Their menu offers many drinks. Recommended to visit earlier hour as at that time still possible to get a table and enjoy the drink. P.S. Ask bar tenders why it is called 400 Rabbits?! It is a nice story behind it.

Pitcher & Piano Nottingham is a modern chain bar located in a converted church, making it one of the coolest bars in the area. Despite its non-independent status, it's a must-visit for its unique setting and spacious interior, perfect for after-work drinks or weekend pre-drinks with large groups. The Grade II-listed church provides a stunning backdrop for dining and drinking on their outdoor terrace, complete with stained glass windows and exposed brick archways.
We had a fab afternoon bottomless brunch! Jessica was a great host, kept us topped up with drinks throughout the time we were there. We paid a bit extra and we all had the steak, egg & chips and it was really good. We would definitely book again, great value for money!

This was my third time coming here on 28.07.2025 and this time I brought my family who flew in from overseas to the UK. We were all really looking forward to it. We arrived at reception at 6:30pm and waited about 10 minutes but no one came to seat us. In the end, we went up to the bartender and were told we had to find our own table — just like a food court. The table we found was dirty and hadn’t been cleared. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy, but there was only 1-2 waiter serving everyone. It took another 10 to 15 minutes just to place our order for drinks( 2 beer,2 cocktail & 2 coke), 5 starters, and 4 mains course. After waiting 30 minutes, we still didn’t have any drinks. We asked the same waitress who took our order — she went into the kitchen, then came back and told us the kitchen had lost our order and we’d have to order again. She promised us a free drink as an apology, but in the end, we didn’t get anything at all. Meanwhile, people queuing at the bar got their drinks straight away, while we waited nearly 50 minutes for ours — it was really unacceptable. It wasn’t just our table waiting — the nearby customers were all waiting too. Another 15 minutes later, our starters finally arrived, followed by the mains, but they still missed one of our dishes. When we asked the waiter again, he told us to wait, but after another 10 minutes with nothing happening, we just paid and left. We originally planned to order dessert, but we gave up because we didn’t know how much longer we’d have to wait. Honestly, it was a terrible experience. Despite the beautiful setting, the service was unbelievably bad. It completely wasted our precious time and ruined our evening. I’d rather go to Wetherspoons than ever come back here again.

History, Hues, and Hospitality: Sunday Lunch at Pitcher and Piano Nottingham Our Sunday lunch reservation at The Pitcher and Piano in Nottingham was an absolutely memorable experience, thanks primarily to its stunning and unique setting. Housed within the magnificent High Pavement Unitarian Chapel, this Grade II listed building—originally constructed in 1876—is far more than just a restaurant; it’s a living piece of Nottingham history. The architecture alone is worth the visit. It's truly breathtaking to dine beneath the soaring ceilings and surrounded by the retained grandeur of the former chapel. The conversion, which happened in 1998, brilliantly preserved key elements, giving the space an atmosphere that is simultaneously historic and modern. It makes for one of the most visually interesting and vibrant dining environments you could find in the city, perfectly blending its past as a place of worship and a lace museum with its present as a popular social hub. For a fun, tangible souvenir, we took advantage of the on-site photo booth. It’s a great way to remember your visit, costing £5 for four physical prints and including a digital download of your photos, making the unique backdrop part of your memory. Making the online reservation was smooth and efficient, and upon arrival, we were treated to excellent hospitality. Our experience was made particularly wonderful by Jess, who waited on us. Jess was attentive, professional, and added a warm, friendly touch to our meal, ensuring everything was perfectly taken care of. Great service combined with great surroundings elevates a simple lunch into an occasion. Overall, The Pitcher and Piano offers a truly unique destination for food and drinks. If you’re looking for delicious dining in a jaw-dropping location, this venue delivers on both history and quality service. Highly recommended!

Nice food and superb church setting. The ambiance was marvelous! There’s nothing to complain about except sometimes when you order and pay via the QR code, it may not go through. I didn’t encounter any problem but my friend did, so she had to go asking the staff to check if it was alright and ended up ordering and paying the analog way.

I had the pleasure of being served by Jess during my recent visit to pitcher and piano, and I just had to take a moment to share how exceptional she was. From the moment we were seated, Jess greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel right at home. She was attentive without being overbearing, checking in on us just the right amount to make sure we had everything we needed. you could tell she genuinely cared about making our experience great. Jess’s positive attitude and friendly demeanor truly elevated our brunch experience. It’s clear she takes pride in her work, and I appreciate how she went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable visit. If you’re lucky enough to be seated in her section, you’re in great hands. Highly recommend!

The Alchemist Nottingham, located in a gothic building on King Street, offers a luxurious bottomless brunch experience with signature cocktails and an internationally-inspired menu at an affordable price. The bartenders are known for their expertise in molecular mixology, creating drinks with meticulous attention to detail and adding a theatrical element to the night out. The extensive drinks menu and mysterious atmosphere make it more than just a bar experience.
I just had an incredible meal with friends! The food was absolutely spot-on—from the Spicy Chicken to the Katsu Curry, everything was tasty and well-presented. Sarah's service was lovely, making our experience even better. The cocktails were a highlight too, especially the Eureka Moment, which was perfectly theatre-served. Can't wait to come back!

Me and my boyfriend and I recently visited The Alchemist in Nottingham and had a really enjoyable time. The interior is super stylish and atmospheric, with a cool vibe that adds to the whole experience. The toilets were surprisingly nice too — clean and well-kept, which is always appreciated. We tried a variety of small plates; the food was okay overall — decent, but nothing that particularly stood out. However, the drinks menu made up for it. There was a great choice of cocktails, and many of them were really creative and fun to try. The staff were lovely as well — really attentive and friendly throughout our visit, which made the evening even better. We didn't take many pictures. I would definitely return in the future.

Maybe dependent on time of visit. I was 4 30 to 5 30. Atmosphere was comfortable, not buzzing but we changed seats twice. High chairs- feet dangling was uncomfy. Some individual seats too low then and some parts of leather couch sunken in! Only 2 staff at bar and no one took away dirty empties quick enough. Toilets are away n far. Disabled a bit closer than the gents n ladies! Barman also counted money wrong and was gonna over charge us! Menu looked cool but no beaker available for my Light bulb-which was the main reason why I wanted to order it, as it was on the menu pic outside! No service, we had to collect our own drinks even though there was a wait. Sunday platter offer looked great but we weren't hungry. Not sure if i would return, esp during the day but think night time visit might be more fun???

I can't recommend this place enough! The food and drinks were absolutely spot on – everything from the Prawn Lollipops to the Lobster Mac was top-notch. Sarah, our server, was a gem, super attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was just right, making it a perfect evening out. Can't wait to come back!
Kimberly S — Google review
I visited for a special occasion on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, and while the staff were courteous enough, the service lacked warmth or attentiveness. Unfortunately, the food did little to elevate the experience. The lobster mac & cheese was passable, though hardly memorable, and the £30 steak arrived looking uninspired, offering neither flavour nor finesse to justify its price. The cookies, sadly, were stale and disappointing. The only true highlight of the meal was the churros. They were crispy, indulgent, and by far the most enjoyable part of an otherwise underwhelming dining experience.
Swapnali B — Google review
Bottomless brunch was good and lots of different fun cocktails included which was great. Service was slow even though we pre-booked however it was a Saturday so have to take that into consideration. Good value for money in my opinion as cocktails here are usually quite expensive by themselves and they were reallt stong. Oyster shots were something different that I've not seen before, would reccomend for girls night!

I was impressed with this Alchemist, particularly the architecture of the building and the sociable seating at the bar. Sitting at the bar suited me and the American tourists who i was chatting to about Nottingham and other tourist spots.
Paul B — Google review
Underwhelming to be honest. Staff were really relaxed and unprofessional. Upon arrival we had to go up to the bar to ask for a table because they were just distracted and chatting behind the bar. They all looked pretty young and this is probably their student job, but come on, I know it’s a Sunday and they probably wanted to go home, but that did make our experience worse. They took ages to come take our order, my boyfriend had to go up to the bar to ask for someone to take our order and even so we were still told to wait. There were only a few tables with people only having drinks, and several members of staff floating about but none seemed to be available to take our order? Fajitas were ok, but nothing special. Chicken was a bit dry and the portion was quite small. There was barely no onions and peppers under the chicken, 🐓 and it was burnt and stuck to the hot plate. Had to scrape the burnt veg off to be able to eat it. And the bad customer service didn’t help. Also a side note, the music was quite loud and made it hard to talk.

Penny Lane is a family-friendly bar that offers vintage arcade games, pub grub, and creative cocktails. It's the perfect spot for anyone looking to relive their childhood memories while enjoying a cocktail. The venue features classic arcade games like pinball machines and end-of-the-pier games, creating a nostalgic fairground atmosphere.
We visited Penny Lane in Nottingham around 5 pm on a Saturday evening and had an amazing time. The place was busy but had a fantastic atmosphere with a really nice, lively vibe. There was a great mix of groups, couples, and even some families with children. Thanks to the venue’s large size, it never felt cramped, and there were plenty of comfortable spaces where you could sit down for a meal, relax with drinks, or enjoy the big games section. One of the highlights was the arcade and funfair games area. Tokens were about £1 each, and most of the games only required one token to play, making it really easy and affordable to have a lot of fun. Buying tokens was quick and simple with contactless payment directly at the machine. They also had the classic horse racing game where you roll balls into holes to race the horses, which not many funfairs still have these days, so it was brilliant to see. If you win three times you get a cuddly toy, and if you win once you receive a little medal, which added so much fun and excitement to the experience. They also had the classic 2p arcade machines where you could put some change in and play the traditional seaside-style games. The cocktails were brilliant at two for £11.95 with a great range to choose from. The ones we had were really well made and tasted amazing. The service at the bar was excellent, and I wish I had caught the barman’s name because he was brilliant and made the experience even better. The location is really convenient, right in the town centre, and there is a large car park next to it in the Lace Market which made parking really easy and stress free. Security on the door also added to the welcoming and safe environment, making it a place where you can properly relax and enjoy yourself. Penny Lane offers something truly different compared to the usual Nottingham bar scene. Great drinks, a great vibe, and a fun and unique experience all in one place. We will definitely be back!

Great fun, and great value for money! Cocktails were made properly and not rushed, despite being 2-4-1 Tasted fab and an excellent and exciting array to choose from! The venue is fun, and family friendly (certainly during the daytime) Good day date bar! The arcade games are reasonably priced too! Would absolutely recommend.

Really enjoyed our visit at the weekend. Tried a few house cocktails all of which were delicious (and strong). Some good deals - 241 on a variety of drinks. Tried plenty of the games, all of which made the afternoon a fun and retro day out. Decent amount of seating, table service available. Great staff, very friendly.

Penny Lane is a great stop for some cocktails and a few games. It does get very busy at peak times, and is noisy with loud music, the games and people playing. There’s a good choice of drinks, food and desserts, though the cocktails are a little overpriced and underwhelming. However, the little added extras of souvenirs on the drinks is a nice fun touch. The venue is well decorated with a good choice of games. Since adding more games is does seem cramped and when busy, but it is a great place for a weekday fun date.
Hayley R — Google review
One of the cheaper arcades in nottingham and good vibes all around. The cocktails are nice and the staff are super friendly. This place is decorated well and super convenient to get to, it's literally right by the lace market tram stop. Prices for cocktails aren't too bad either. It costs about £1.50 for a token and you can use it on a range of games so not too bad of a price. You can use card to buy these tokens as well, you'll only really need cash for the 2p machines. Some of the machines will just eat your tokens tho so beware.
Aimee E — Google review
Nice choice of games to play, we found a lot of the time we would put tokens in and some Games weren’t working which was annoying. The drinks are average prices with an average choice of drinks. Has a slot machine in here which is good fun as well as all the retro games. Good atmosphere and the staff were nice.

Rescue Rooms is a popular 450-capacity live music venue and nightclub in Nottingham, known for hosting intimate live performances by renowned artists such as The Killers, Stormzy, and London Grammar. In addition to its music space, the venue features a stylish bar with comfortable Chesterfield-style seating and a welcoming patio. The establishment offers daily happy hour specials and hosts themed club nights like Pressure Tuesdays and Stealth v Rescued Saturdays, which are particularly popular among students.
I love music, but I don't necessarily go to see the big big bands play. I like discovering new bands that have a small following where it is easy to meet the band after. I have had some amazing experiences here, although with my anxiety I normally mix my word and make a fool of myself often but I have never felt uncomfortable doing so here. Again with my anxiety I don't like big crowds of people around me but with this venue I have been able to get in early enough to be at the front of the que. Unless the bands have VIP access which always go through first I would always find myself at the front. This helps so I only focus on the band in front and not the fact that there's a lot of people behind me. The staff are friendly, they have a selection of alcohol free drinks but they don't do food. Not even crisps but they don't mind if you nip to the shop and bring food into the patio area.

This is a great little venue within a bar next door to Rock City. It was a fair size inside for a good crowd, there is space for merchant sales and a fully stocked bar. There is an outdoor area for smokers and those wanting to relax outside which is really nicely set out too. I'm really looking forward to coming back next month for another gig!

I haven't been to The Rescue Rooms for a few years until last week to see Scarlet Rebels Fantastic venue with great staff, a high stage so get a great view, lighting and sound spot on. The Bodega Nottingham is a versatile venue in the heart of Nottingham, offering a unique blend of live music gigs, themed club nights, and a vibrant bar with a beer garden. It's renowned for its diverse calendar of events catering to various tastes, including pop-filled Friday nights and epic Tuesday quiz nights. The venue exudes a laid-back yet lively atmosphere with an open dance floor that keeps the party going until the early hours.
As always a fantastic venue, I had an amazing time watching two amazing bands. Even met them at the end and got a set list signed.

We attended a concert at The Bodega a few nights ago. It was so easy to find so we got there too early, had a drink in the downstairs bar area where a guest DJ was playing - interesting! We had our tickets scanned and went upstairs into the small concert room. I was surprised how cosy it was but as it was a standing concert there was plenty of room. Service at the bar was quick and efficient, we had no problems in getting served. We chose to stand on a railed and raised platform at the back of the room - we had a great view and the sound was fantastic! Great concert watching Toby Lee and his band, would definitely go to this venue again.

Great venue, bar staff always super nice. Have been coming here the best part of 20 years and never had a complaint. Beers are decent, good value and served quickly.

Awesome gig by Scaramanga Six, Tropical Contact and Eureka Machines. Best night of the tour, loved it!

Indie quiz on Tuesday evening- couldn't find the DJ to enter it! Had one pint, no real ales on tap, and gave it up as a 'bad job'! Frontage currently hidden by scaffolding. More of a student venue than a regulars local. NB toilets are upstairs.
Graham H — Google review
i had a pretty bad experience, the bartenders are really slow even when it’s dead and even gave us the wrong drinks - also the women’s toilets were very dirty and extremely cramped 🙁 there are also a lot of stairs so it’s not a very accessible venue either. the concert venue is alright, it’s very small so it can only fit a small crowd and the PA is pretty loud. overall i would avoid coming here for casual drinks and only go for gigs.
Clef — Google review
Last time my wife went there before moving out the area was 40 yrs ago. Great to see it still there. Had some AMAZING times The guys there were so friendly letting us look around the dance room even though it was locked up normally A few changes but wow great memories
Simon C — Google review
I went to their indie night on Wednesday and had a terrible experience. The way they organised entry into the upstairs club area meant anyone using the female toilets had to rejoin the massive entry queue to get back in, which took me 1 hour to get through. Meanwhile, anyone using the male toilets could just go in and then back into the upstairs club area after immediately. It felt extremely unfair and no warnings were given about this system. Many people seemed to get caught out. One of my friends had come looking for me without her phone and got stuck outside the club on her own late at night. Overall, very little concern for gender fairness or safety. Wouldn't recommend.

Das Kino is a trendy venue located in a Grade II listed building in Lace Market. The place offers stylish wood-floored spaces for drinks and games, including ping pong tables and retro photobooths.
Lovely place for drinks and food. Pizza, loaded fries and buffalo wings - perfect combination.

£12 each espresso martinis. Bartender didn't know how to make cocktails and kept reviewing a help-sheet: only put the ingredients in to make one then shared it between two glasses. Asked for manager who asked "have you had an espresso martini before?" then assured us this was correct. Been here before and always highly rated/recommended but certainly gone downhill. Would not recommend.

Omg they offer Gluten free and Dairy free pizza!!! And it’s really good!!! No cardboard base and NOT the cheapest of cheap vegan cheese! I had pepperoni and bbq and it was delicious!! It’s one of the best pizzas I’ve had since developing allergies. The drag brunch was ace! Great atmosphere and great service

Great quirky bar. We found the place by accident while wandering around looking for somewhere for lunch. Great decor and funky vibe. Pizza and chicken wings were delicious and all pizzas are only £5. We had pizza, chicken wings and 2 delicious cocktails for £20 - bargain.

Drag bottomless brunch bingo. Do it. Great Atmosphere. Great service. Can't praise them enough. From booking to event. They cater for all. Communication was spot on. So friendly and helpful. And the brunch. Wow great value. Great food. Fast flowing drinks. A fantastic experience so much fun and worth every penny. We will be back

We did the Friday Night Bottomless Brunch to celebrate my 30th and we had an absolutely fantastic time! 🥂 This was one of, if not the best bottomless brunch I’ve done. The food and drink service was spot on. The servers were friendly, always on hand, and we didn’t have to ask to be served once, as we were constantly being supplied with food & drink. What made the night though was the entertainment from The Trent Sisters… wow, we have some memories to last a life time! 😳🤣 Thank you so much Das Kino for a night to remember. A trip back is definitely on the cards!

It's been a long time since this place was the Old Vic. First time we'd been here as we don't tend to visit this part of town too often. Very nice place indeed ! Pleasant staff, lovely, clean surroundings and a nice atmosphere. We only popped in for a 'swift half' to see what it was like - ended up staying a couple of hours and having fab pizzas there too! 2 for 1 pizzas at that (both have to be the same). Good selection of beers, ales and ciders(try the Berliner Pilsner!) and great food, I could have had 1 of everything! We'll be back, thanks guys!

The BEST bottomless brunch experience! Just everything about it and the value for money is so, so good! The pizza was so delicious as were the cocktails which you had such a good selection of. I am 100% coming back - it was just the best afternoon with my bestie and so much fun!

Loved it here. The whole concept is super cool and fun and the staff were awesome. She took real time to sit and chat with us about special whiskeys that they stock. Cocktails were great, really enjoyed it here, highly recommend!

I have been intending to go here for about two years and after hearing about it then it exceeded all expectations! From the moment you walk in it feels like a special place, the secret entrance concept is awesome fun, although probably not if your stuck outside on a Saturday night! The drinks here are absolutely fantastic, so creative and really well done. The place is low lit and makes it seem very cosy and personal. Staff were great, very helpful when choosing drinks. Well worth a visit and I will deffinately go again.

INK in Nottingham is not just a regular club; it's a vibrant party destination. Boasting four themed clubs and eight bars all in one place, it offers the most extensive nightlife experience in the city. With its futuristic chambers, laser beam nights, and renowned DJs, INK sets the stage for an unforgettable night out. While some visitors note that the venue can get crowded at times, others appreciate the variety of music genres and commend the attentive bouncers who ensure everyone's safety.
Bouncer told us to wait 20 minutes before we can come in which we did, after the 20 minutes we came back and he started acting all cocky saying we're not coming in cos he doesn't want us to, I jumped the fence and the security guard caught up to me and started hitting me over the head again and again as I was walking to the exit. Don't go to this club no wonder they keep offering free nights😂 lowlife bouncers and security that think they have authority and can do what they like.
Robert S — Google review
The night out was so bad. Couldn’t even walk to different floors. Music was incredibly loud. Smelt of piss. Racially abused against white males. Drinks are expensive. Unnecessary barriers blocking off the club.

It’s a good student night out HOWEVER, my phone got stolen from my ZIPPED bag on Halloween. Went in the day after no sign of my phone or handed in anywhere. On my way back home met another girl who also had her phone stolen on Halloween so it wasn’t just me. There are thieves operating in this club and security should surely be checking everything that leaves the club❗️

My phones friend was stolen from her zipped up bag. We told security and they told us to call back Monday morning. The number won’t even ring it comes up as “not recognised” it’s been 3 days and still haven’t heard anything from them. I left them my phone number and we have sent emails and Instagram messages. I wish I read the reviews before we went because it is well known for thieves!! (We contacted the police, hopefully they can put a stop to this)

I’ve been here before and it has been good however recently I’ve been paying for a ticket online to turn up to closed doors. This has happened a few times and I have not recieved a refund for my tickets despite there not being a event which was promoted online
Abbas H — Google review
Atrocious bouncers. We were denied entry and told to wait ten minutes. After ten minutes, we went back to ask if we could go in (because the queuing system is about 20 metres away from the door so it's hard to communicate with the bouncers). And we were denied entry again. Finally they came down to see us after another ten ish minutes and they just let the people behind us in because apparently me and my mate were "too drunk" (because they were just annoyed at us). By which time we had sobered up quite a lot. My mate had a free ticket so we were excited to try something new but we never ended up even getting in after waiting what must've been about 30 minutes. There was no one in front of us so they could've just let us in. Certainly never trying again. Sort your bouncers out.
Alexander P — Google review
After waiting in line we got to the front and the bounce said we cannot come in as we are to old, I am 26 and my partner is 24. Maybe the door staff are better suited to working in a childens nursery if they cannot handle adults over the age of 18

I going on a random night with my friends as this was my first time in ink after the club I saw a girl and boy arguing asked security if they not gonna separate it he said “it’s entertaining” I was oh later just to see my friend getting beat by security and me trying to separate I got dragged and beat up kicked by 5 grown men I will sue this place because this is unacceptable

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is a renowned and peculiar ancient pub nestled in stone caves. It boasts a charming and quirky interior, complete with resident ghosts. The pub provides delectable food options alongside its traditional ale, making it an enticing destination for visitors. Located in Nottinghamshire, England, this historic establishment holds the distinction of being one of the country's oldest public houses.
As good as it gets. An old fascinating and historical pub Built into the cliff side ,Great old architecture, lots of small rooms over two floors. With two outdoor areas. Very nice food and menu selection. Helpful and friendly staff. A must visit for all ,Ghosts Included.
Mick K — Google review
Recommended by a friend in Ohio, and what a recommendation! I had lunch after touring Nottingham Castle, which I would recommend as Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is in a cave under the castle. Like all structures of this era, the ceilings are quite low and the stairs and rooms are quite twisty and full of surprises. The staff was so nice and efficient. I ordered at the bar downstairs and had my meal delivered to a table on the next floor (see video). I’ve taken many trips to the UK, and frequented many establishments with signs claiming the “world’s best fish and chips.”. The fish was amazing and perfectly prepared. The chips were not greasy at all, and very flavorful. The highlight was the fresh peas! Bursting with flavor. I rate the fish and chips second only to the Mayfair Chippy in London, however, the ambiance and experience takes it over the top even if you’re only slopping by for a pint.
Andrew G — Google review
Visited for the first time for a Sunday roast. Best to go before 12.30pm so you can get a table and the Sunday roasts are still available. Ordered the beef roast and beef croquettes. Delicious and reasonably priced. Service was splendid. Inside the pub was literally still like a cave. I will definitely go back again.
K ( — Google review
After visiting the castle and surroundings places stoped here 1st just to take photos and check out the pub but ended up having late afternoon meal. The food was tasty and the atmosphere gives it a cosy and nice vibe. Best was seeing people talking and not with their faces glued to the phones. It's a little tight inside but that's what gives the pub a charm, combined with it beenig carved into the hillside. The staff was very nice, good service. The pub was clean and despite beeing full no bad smells inside. The bar offers a nice variety of drinks. Outside seating with plenty of tables and an inside smaller court. The outside seating comes in handy in warm sunny days to enjoy food and drinks with friends or family. There's on street paid parking next to the pub. Will be returning when visiting Nottingham again.
Daniel A — Google review
It was very easy to give this historical 12th century pub nestled into the caves of Nottingham Castle a maximum rating. I received very good bar service and a generous discount being a CAMRA member. The bartender was quite knowledgeable about local ales and some of the history of the pub; even the regular customer propping up the bar, was keen to chat about both subjects. I can imagine that as autumn becomes autumnal with howling winds, the cooler temperatures and the long nights, this pub will be a gem for supernatural thrill seekers. Will definitely return very soon!
Paul B — Google review
Well this really is a very special pub to visit. Its an absolute gem of a pub carved into the sand stone of Nottingham Castle. Its possibly the oldest pub in England but wasbis for sure is the warm welcome from the staff who are very friendly and knowledgeable of the ales and beers on offer. Lots of great seating inside and out and super fine ales. The beer choice really is very good. I look forward to coming back again soon.

Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem is a great little pub. It is partially underground set in a cave, so a very interesting setting. There is a really good menu catering for almost everyone. Vegetarian, and vegan options available, and for people with specific allergies. The food arrived promptly, and was delicious, as well as generous. Very friendly, and attentive staff behind the bar. Great range of beers and ales. Must go back as I only had two! The others look very inviting and attractive to lovers of Real Ales. No complaints at all. Highly recommended.

Love Junkyard, being a regular spot we visit for beer. Visited 3rd Jan and decided to have some food there for the first time. Big mistake! We ordered a few small plates, but they forgot the chicken wings. We said we still wanted the wings so they cooked them and brought them out. They must have rushed them, as they were still raw in places! I know meat on the bone can be pink the closer to the bone it is, but there were bloody in places! Thankfully we noticed, spat out the first mouthful and left them. They didn’t smell good either!

Easily one of the best places to drink in Nottingham city centre. Always a great range of beers on tap (at least 15) plus very well stocked fridges with some great beers from smaller breweries across Europe and beyond. Very friendly service from all staff who know their beers and happy to offer advice and a small taste before you order. Food is great and goes well with the drinks. Outside seating areas (front and rear) for warmer weather and a great atmosphere inside. Definitely worth visiting!

I have upped the star rating to 5 now, as the food was delicious and the staff were great. Previous review: Nice spot. We had lovely vegetarian food, and there was a nice looking meaty options to. Always a great selection of beers, so plan plenty of time to try them all. I would definetely come back here.

Was recommended this place by a friend. A great shout. Great atmosphere tucked away in a little nook. Its through a small alley so you might have to pay close attention when finding it. Note for cider drinkers: They sell some in cans, but they have no cider options on tap, HOWEVER they do have fruity sours on tap which I'd say are even better. If you're a cider drinker like me and haven't tried a fruity sour before, go on, get one ere, I bet youll like it. Phwoar

We went in on Tuesday, and as we went up to the bar to order drinks the waitress was rude to every single person. She rolled her eyes as I ordered the drink because she “didn’t know how to make it” and was being very blunt. When we all eventually got our drinks, half of them tasted horrific. Tilt Bar in Nottingham is a cozy and intimate venue known for its inventive cocktails and live blues music. The candlelit old-world setting and traditional wooden seating create a comforting atmosphere, making it popular year-round. The bar offers a wide range of classic and daring concoctions, from daiquiris to the spicy chilli dipper martini.
Was excited to visit this cocktail bar after reading through lots of different places it sounded like my type of vibe. Quite dark, candles on the tables and soul music looked a really good cocktail jaunt so in that respect the aesthetic in the Venue is really good. Service was really good a decent level of attentiveness and didn't have to wait long for our cocktails to come and it was quite busy also. Lastly of course the cocktails themselves were superb. Just struck lucky that is was old fashioned week and I had two different old fashioneds both of which were 2 of the best I have had in many cocktails bars. I will take others if I visit again for sure.

Tilt might be my favourite bar in Nottingham, have not visited in ages as I have moved away from Nottingham. Perfect place if you love intimate place for a drinks with friend or date, minimal/ no music which makes it easier to have a conversation. The vibes and the aesthetic of this place is just immaculate. Bartenders also make really good drinks (we ordered classic cocktails which are not on the menu and they are all great.)
Ye Y — Google review
The Ambiance with relaxed Blues music and classic aesthetics made the place very welcoming and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Popcorn, Pretzels and homemade iced tea were complimentary and in my case desperately needed. As a cocktail lover it broke my heart somewhat that I had to leave my drink half finished, the Dark horse Rum and espresso based cocktail was lovely with a perfect texture and soothing after taste but unfortunately I showed up too early and had yet to have eaten when I visited. Before I had realised my mistake though I had asked for a Vesper Martini which the bartender made with a Cacao vermouth rather than the Lillet blanc I am used to, it was again a wonderful drink that in other circumstances I would gladly order again. It is a real shame I hadn't eaten beforehand as I would have gladly spent more time at Tilt.

The best place to go for a cocktail with friends! It's not often we drink but when we do, we go to Tilt! The service is extraordinary and the drinks are phenomenal. It has the perfect vibe for a cocktail bar, plus the snacks definitely come in handy. And if you go in summer, they have the best AC!

Lovely place, dimly lit cocktail bar with excellent service. Sadly the last couple of times we've been in the drinks weren't up to the usual standard and we felt a bit ripped off. 🍻 Bunk – True to its name, an underground pub with a vibrant vibe! 📅 We visited in July during our pub-hopping adventure, and since the treat was on me, we went all out! 🎉 👥 With 20 of us taking over a long table (and a few more on smaller ones), we thought we had filled the pub only to realize there was still plenty of space for others. A perfect spot for big groups. 🍹 The counter was kept busy all night with rounds of cocktails and beers, while 🎶 the lively music kept the energy high. 📸 Of course, our never-ending photo sessions made the evening even more memorable. ✨ Overall, it turned out to be one of the best evenings to remember. Highly recommend this place if you’re planning a party with a big group great drinks, great music, and plenty of space! 🥳🥂

Decent chicken wing restaurant in city centre with a romantic feel. Limited choice on menu focusing mainly on chicken wings with lots of different seasoning and sauce options. Wings with Teriyaki sauce were very tasty however disappointed that the boneless wings were actually chicken strips and not de-boned wings. However to be fair it does say on the menu they are ‘Southern Fried’. Would of rated higher however table was sticky with food residue, no one checked in with me to see how my food was and also no hand paper towels by the communal wash basin.

Very good for a night out. Great place to get a quick bite to eat with a large choice of house drinks that are a great price - especially before 10. Would recommend the refresher if you like sweet drinks.

If you are searching for chicken wings in Nottingham, then Bunk at Lace market might well be for you! You can get a myriad of sauces with your wings and they also have a great selection of cocktails which is their other signature item. Be prepared for lots of students!

What a refreshing change. 1/2 price wings until 10pm every night (Jan 2017). Lovely atmosphere, friendly bar staff. Not a great beer selection, it's all very 'boutique', but of you like that, there are lots of choices to drink something you've never heard of. Worth a visit.

I've been a few times before, however, this was the best. The music was good. The food was superb and plentiful. The service was amazing. The guy was very patient with me, I'd already had a few drinks...he made ordering easy and I felt as though I wasn't a burden. Thanks again guys see you again soon.

Pop World Nottingham is a fun nightclub with a good dance floor that’s perfect for dancing the night away. The atmosphere is lively, and the music is great. However, it does close a bit early, around 3 a.m., and I found the prices to be a bit on the high side and it's filled with blokes. Overall, it’s a decent spot for a night out if you don’t mind the early closing time and slightly higher costs.

Used to enjoy coming here and have had many good evenings here, but today was thrown out with zero explanation despite reasonable behaviour and asking multiple times why. As soon as I was asked to leave I left without question but the fact no reasonable justification was given despite no aggravation or issues has left me feeling unwelcome and has put me off ever trying to return. I am all for removing problematic patrons but at least inform them of the reasons why - poor communication helps no-one. Edited to reply to the response: this was not explained and I have witnesses to confirm this was not explained - had it been explained (which of course is a perfectly valid reason for someone to be removed from a venue), I would have continued to leave immediately without any further questioning. This does not change my response or review, unfortunately, in fact the lies being told only make me further unlikely to return to the venue.

We came here for a hen do. Asked for help to a bouncer as another group became physical with us, they did not help and the bouncer became aggressive with us and kicked us out. Our friend got a salt drink thrown on her. Leaving her to have medical attention. We asked for support but they refused and Left the other party to stay, we felt very vulnerable and not protected by the security here.
Ysabelle L — Google review
I am so disgusted with Nottingham pop worlds security services, my partner was let in by 2 of the bouncers welcomingly and after 20 minutes 5 bouncers came along and asked him to leave or they will “throw him out” my partner said no problem let me finish my drink and I’ll go and within seconds they grabbed him by the throat and all dragged him to the fire exit and took him into one room and absolutely battered him. 5 security on one man. They also took his belongings ect, watch and hat. DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE ON A NIGHT OUT absolutely disgusting.

Friendly staff, but not a great vibe overall We dropped into Popworld Nottingham in the late afternoon yesterday. The staff were really friendly and did their best to keep things running smoothly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience let it down. The place felt dirty, with sticky floors and unclean tables, like it hadn’t had a proper clean in a while. What made it worse was the crowd. There were a couple of men clearly looking for a fight, which made the atmosphere feel tense and uncomfortable. On top of that, there were signs of drug use in the venue, which added to the uneasy feeling. It’s a real shame, because with better crowd control and a cleaner environment, it could be a decent place to go. But based on this visit, we won’t be hurrying back.

Jesal is honestly an amazing person and made the experience amazing. He is part of the reason I love coming every Friday. Truly a special space

This place has the worst service I’ve ever experienced from a student establishment. Truly shocked by the way ticket/security staff speak to customers. It seems like staff welfare training is clearly not done properly as they abused their authority to mistreat me. They refused to talk to me about a concern and they also didn’t call on a manager despite my sincere request.
Miji — Google review
Bouncer shoved me back aggressively and said ‘ Oi mate what are you doing ‘ after I had literally just had my id ticket and student card checked right next to him by his colleague who then confirmed this, not even a sorry for the bouncer. Clearly can’t do his job if he can’t even keep and eye out to see which people his college are checking. He had 0 need to put his hands on me too.

The management and bouncers were really kind and immediately jumped into action when I had an unpleasant experience with a member of security. He was immediately removed from the premises. I really appreciated it and it made me feel safe to return to ng one again. Thank you :)

Absolutely disgusting! I got covered in someone's blood, was a witness to a fight and the minute I questioned where was SIA they kicked me out. I paid £10 each for me and my brother to be dragged out after I got covered in blood and questioned their authority! Do not go here! I'm from Nottingham and it's been 3 years since I have been here and they wouldn't call police last time because "they were off duty" when a man threatened to punch me out! They are disgusting, not even basic human principles! SIA must have got their licences from rice Krispies! I'm simply appalled by their "standards"!

Nottingham Castle is a historic mansion that offers displays on local history, decorative items, and renowned international artists' work. The castle provides an excellent view of the town and features remarkable bronze sculptures of Robin Hood and his tribe by James Woodford. Damaged in 1651, it was replaced by an Italian-styled citadel owned by the Duke of Newcastle.
Nottingham Castle. I was at a loose end and decided to go for a day out. Absolutely fabulous, a lot of interactive exhibits which are ideal for both adults and children. The art galleries are absolutely perfect and the cafe is great too. The shop is perfect for all pocket sizes and the grounds are beautifully looked after. For the adult ticket of £15, it’s free entry for a year so is worth going just for that!
Jess W — Google review
Nottingham Castle played an important role in Britain's history. Apart from being famous for being home to the Sheriff of Nottingham, the castle was a strategic stronghold during England's civil war in the 1600's. Today the castle is museum that houses exhibits of Nottingham's lace manufacturing, studies surrounding the "Major Oak" in Sherwood Forest, and many other interesting displays. Outside the walls is a statue of Robin Hood that is a must see for visitors. Beneath the city is a network of caves that are also present at the castle. Booking a tour of the castle caves provides visitors with much more information about the history and importance Nottingham Castle has played in Britain's history.

Cool castle ramparts encasing a grand mansion steeped in history. Highly recommend booking a cave tour to explore the tunnels within the castle rock. The guides are hugely knowledgeable and give you a fun, educational, story-filled experience.

Nottingham Castle looks impressive and full of history, even from the outside. The grand architecture and its position overlooking the city make it a striking landmark. The grounds and surrounding area are beautifully kept and offer great photo opportunities. A must-see spot that captures the heritage and charm of Nottingham!

Nottingham Castle is a great mix of history, legend, and modern storytelling. The museum inside offers well-presented exhibits about Robin Hood, local art, and the city’s past. The castle grounds are beautifully maintained with lovely views over Nottingham. While the original medieval castle no longer stands, the experience is still engaging and family-friendly — worth a visit if you’re exploring the city’s heritage.

We had a lovely afternoon here. Kids loved the art museum. And so much history. We are most definitely going again. As we still did not managed to explore all the grounds.

Great place to visit in Nottingham! The castle has loads of history, the museum is well set out, and the views over the city are amazing. The best part though is the jack’s cave tour – exploring the tunnels under the castle is such a unique experience. Highly recommend booking the tour when you go!
Manula J — Google review
Personally, we thought £15 entry for adults (£30 for us both) was expensive for a one-off visit if you wanted a tour of the caves that was an extra £8 per adult (we did not go on that). Yes, the entry ticket lasts a year and you can go as many times as you want which is good if you live close by, It's nice that children are free to enter, nice grounds with views over Nottingham, it's not really a Castle more like a mansion building which houses an art gallery / museum in the main building, the Robin Hood experience is more for kids with lots of interactive things to do, we enjoyed the Rebellion part of the exhibition and all about the history of Nottinghams troubled past, Wasn't really impressed with the echos of the Forest exhibition lots of tree photos and a video of some ladies dressed on cloaks hiding in trees, it may be I would prefer to walk in a natural woodland or forest and listen to the natural sound of nature, personally we would not return as we have seen it

My wife and I had such a brilliant time on the Brewery Experience Day at Brewhouse & Kitchen Nottingham. Ross was our brewer and he was fantastic – super knowledgeable, easy to chat to, and made the whole process really fun and engaging. We got hands-on making an American Pale Ale, with Ross guiding us through each step. On top of that, we had a tasty breakfast and lunch, and plenty of beer to enjoy along the way – what more could you want? Honestly, it’s great value for money and such a unique day out. Had a brilliant visit to this pub recently and it’s quickly become one of my favourites. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a great mix of locals and visitors. The food was hearty and well-cooked, and the drinks selection was spot on. A special mention has to go to Sarah, who really made the experience stand out. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. It’s rare to meet someone who strikes the perfect balance between being professional and personable, but Sarah did exactly that. She made sure everything was just right and added such a positive energy to the evening. Would definitely recommend a visit here – and if you’re lucky enough to be served by Sarah, you’ll be in excellent hands!

The food is tasty (the Beer-Can Chicken is a must-try!) and the drinks menu is excellent. What really makes it stand out is the friendly service—everyone’s welcoming, and a special shout-out to Sarah, who always goes above and beyond. Perfect mix of productivity and relaxation—I’ll definitely be back!

Went here to celebrate my birthday and had an absolutely brilliant time! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming – a perfect mix of lively but still relaxed enough to enjoy a good meal and conversation. I had the rib eye steak and it was cooked to perfection – juicy, full of flavour, and exactly how I asked. For dessert, the cheesecake was a winner – creamy, rich, and the perfect end to the meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. Adam and Jack, two of the younger members of the team, were outstanding – friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely looked after. Nothing was too much trouble, and they helped make the night feel that bit more special. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks for a great birthday evening!

The fun Gothic interior is why I popped in with an old friend to grab a beer and hang out for a while. I wasn’t overwhelmed with the choice of ales, but what I had was unfamiliar and not horrible! I’d have preferred something like a Guinness as a decent standard. Anyway we sat downstairs and my friend enjoyed the bookcase toilet door, still looks and works well. It was a flying visit so I’d probably have found a better beer if I’d looked harder. Overall definitely worth popping in for one, especially if you’re in a group and like something out of the ordinary.

We celebrated a special graduation dinner at Botanics in Nottingham with Naina and friends, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional – every dish we tried was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. From starters through to desserts, it was evident that each plate had been crafted with care and creativity. Even the non-alcoholic drinks were outstanding, which was a lovely surprise — thoughtfully created rather than an afterthought, and perfect for those of us not drinking. A huge thank you to Kate, who looked after our table. She was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful when we were trying to decide what to order. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND! HAVE YOUR WEDDING MEAL HERE! ❤️❤️✨✨✨✨ Two days ago we celebrated our wedding by having a meal at the Botanist with 12 of our closest friends and family. From the first contact to the last our experience with everything and everyone was absolutely unbelievably amazing!! The food was beyond beautiful! Everything was cooked to perfection. We loved the personal touches and attention to detail! When every meal was delivered it was addressed to the correct person following our seating plan. We left two boxes of decorations the day before and the lovely Charlotte went above and beyond to make our space look beautiful, way more than I could of expected! Nothing was too much to ask we felt so welcome and relaxed with the team! Honestly I don't think we could have had a better experience or service even if we'd spent thousands and thousands! The whole team should be recognised and celebrated for being such kind, hard working people! True assets to your business! We can't wait to come back for anniversary meals.❤️ xx

Great customer service!

Came in around 1800 with a reservation for 1830 got seated super fast anyway which was lovely. I had the cheeseburger with a side of flat bread, which normally is served with fries but had chips switched with no trouble. My partner had the pie of the day. Both were incredible and the service was near flawless. Jack, our server, was incredible with brilliant and professional banter also. For dessert (no pictures sorry) I had the sticky toffee pudding which again incredible and my partner had the cookie dough which was amazing. A truly satisfying meal. The overall atmosphere of this delightful place is incredible. Very unique with an intimate feel and all round amazing. Two courses with a cocktail each and a soft drink for a hair over 80 quid may seem pricey but I assure you it is well worth it.

Amazing classic british pub that I found in this city. The interior was so unique like a concert hall. They also have a stage in the middle maybe for a live music performance. Beer was drinkable, just. I left half of it, and I love beer. Dinner also sub-standard; veg. underdone, no crackling, watery gravy and none of it exactly piping hot. Won't be returning. A shame as the building is wonderful. A 😕

A Sunday roast like you were at home. The best trad roast in town. Lovely staff and great beers. Brilliant way to spend an autumn afternoon.

Green's Windmill and Science Centre is a restored windmill originally built in the 1800s, located just a short walk from Nottingham's Market Square. It was once the home of mathematical physicist George Green and has been rebuilt after a fire in the 1980s. Visitors can explore the inner workings of the windmill over four floors, learn about flour-making processes, and even purchase award-winning organic flour.
A Fantastic Visit to Green’s Windmill and Science Centre Today, my family and I visited Green’s Windmill and Science Centre in Nottingham, and it was a brilliant experience! The site is a perfect mix of history, science, and hands-on learning, making it a fantastic day out for both little ones and grown-ups alike. The beautifully restored windmill is a fascinating piece of history, and seeing it in action was a highlight. Learning about how flour is traditionally milled was both educational and engaging. The Science Centre was also a big hit, packed with fun and interactive exhibits that kept the children entertained while teaching them about science and engineering. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. It’s a place that truly brings history and science to life, making learning an exciting adventure. I would highly recommend Green’s Windmill and Science Centre to anyone looking for a fun and educational day out in Nottingham!

Such a wonderful place for the local community with most events being free. Lots of engaging activities and a beautiful site - I wish there were more places like this in the UK!

What an incredible and inspiring place. The story of George Green, the miller and genius mathematician, was fascinating. The windmill’s story is just as captivating and there is an interactive centre for children to try science and experiments. And all for free, including 2 hours parking, but donations are welcomed. And George Green’s family grave is just a 5 minute walk away in St Micheal’s Church.

Lovely old working Mill. Free entry. Science centre inside kids loved it. Was nice few hours out during half term kept the children entertained i didnt no of this place it was the in laws that mentioned it. A nice allotment to winder around . A good , clean park and was all free 🙌🏻 we bought some milled flour reasonably priced. You could have a nice picnic on the grounds. Car park with pay and display .

Very cool history and working mill. Great for kids. Lot of ladders and climbing. Gift store and Cafe options

Greens Windmill in Sneinton is a real Nottingham treasure! The working windmill is fascinating to explore, and the friendly volunteers make the history of George Green come alive. The science centre is full of hands-on exhibits that keep both kids and adults entertained. You can even buy flour freshly milled on-site! The gardens are peaceful, and the views from the top are brilliant. It’s free to visit, which makes it even better, but it’s well worth leaving a donation. A perfect mix of history, science, and local charm — highly recommended for families and curious minds alike!

We visited today as a group of 20. What an amazing trip. Lee and Eddy did a great job of leading our little ones on a baking session making it informative (educationally) and fun. Andy gave us a tour of the Windmill and wowed us with so much history and real life knowledge of the working Mill. Jamie was great to deal with in organising the trip and getting everyone booked in. We will be back for sure! Would recommend to anyone 🤩 Thank you so much everyone
Louise L — Google review
Definitely worth a quick visit, unless you’re 7feet tall. A free experience (donations welcome) with a visitor centre containing loads of information on the mill’s history. Videos to watch & games for the toddlers. The mill itself has steep steps with enough headroom for all except giants. It’s informative & enjoyable.

Nature & Parks
Highfields Park, a stunning 21-hectare green space located within the University of Nottingham, offers a wide range of activities for visitors. From seasonal boating on the lake to enjoying the golf course and play area, there's something for everyone. The park also features two cafes and an arts center that hosts special events. Nearby attractions include the beautiful arboretum and the historic St Mary's (The Virgin) Church with its renowned 19th-century glasswork.
Great place to visit as it's full of nature and a very calm stroll if you want to take the fam and the kids along with you they have amazing scenery and you can even hire a boat and go around the lake on. They also have some amazing statues with loads of detail to them they also have a big play area for kids to play on. There is also a castle not the biggest but still a nice area to visit the park which you can go and stand on.

A great park that's really nice walk around. Particularly great in the Spring where the Sakura Trees near the entrance bloom! There's also a big playground and mini-golf course if you have kids
Chris — Google review
Lovely walk, good sized park. Boats are a bonus! Although not cheap, but the young lad and young girl were very friendly! There is hardly any parking, and the spaces are very tight. People seemed to park wherever they like also, with no regards to others. Lovely large grass area to sit on. Shame that people cant be bothered to take their rubbish home with them - or in the bin - theres ample of them!!! Crazy golf and foot golf to. All in all, a lovely outdoor area.

Another Park visited for the first time, I parked opposite within the Hockey centre which is free for visitors...as is also the parking within the park grounds... I'm well impressed by the area and boating lake which is I believe in the University grounds... It's only a short walk around the lake, a casual thirty minutes stroll... Unfortunately the cafe was closed by the time I arrived ...my fault entirely, I'll arrive much earlier next time... There's lots of wildlife especially around the lake, I loved the stepping stones area which is a bit of a short cut instead of going further around the lake... I'll give a more comprehensive review the next time I visit... Very enjoyable two to three hours... Thinking of my next visit already...

Had a quacking time here. Beautiful place to take a calm stroll and take a little time from the chaos of life. We were able to get on the rowing boat and had so much fun. The cafe is clean and has a tasty range of foods and drinks. There's so much to do here, fab day out with family.

Used to visit here on a regular basis, however this was my first visit for over 6 months. Thoroughly enjoyed walking round the lake on a sunny evening and was impressed how tidy and well kept the park was. Rowing boats available for rent, as well as mini golf and football golf. Good for families, with large grass areas for picnics and a regular ice cream van parked up. There is also a small coffee shop in the Lakeside art centre.

Located in the heart of Hockley, The Angel Microbrewery is not just a pub but also a historical landmark dating back to the 1600s. This lively venue has seen it all, from being a brothel to housing a chapel before transforming into its current form. It's known for its raucous live shows and has even hosted early performances by bands like Arctic Monkeys.
Our first time visiting this establishment, we travelled to see Dunes, an excellent band from Newcastle. We enjoyed our food, there's a great selection of craft ales available and all the staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The old chapel upstairs is where the bands play, it's a truly beautiful building and full credit to the sound engineer, the sound was excellent. We will definitely revisit and if you love live music, it's a hidden gem!

Really great building lot's of seating, friendly staff and even manage to meet the brewer who was super friendly. Definitely a place to visit.

I hadn’t been here in years, but stopped by for a quick lunch and decided to check out the menu. I went with the tempeh sandwich, which arrived promptly. The portion was a decent size and the sandwich was quite tasty, though I would’ve preferred better quality bread personally. 3.5 ⭐️
L B — Google review
Our first visit for a gig, and what a fabulous place! The building itself is a wonderful rabbit warren full of history, and the Chapel venue upstairs is superb. The sound is 👌 with the sound engineer commanding from the pulpit 🙏 We ate before the gig, and both had the Buffalo Chicken burger, which was excellent, so tasty 😋 There is an amazing selection of 🍻 as to be expected. All the staff were friendly and there was a great atmosphere.

Fantastic to see great effort put I to the vegetarian and vegan options. So much choice, seitan on the menu too which was nice to see I like mine a little tougher so might have needed some battering before the first boil, but I was absolutely thrilled to be able to order it. It was good. The veg was lovely and so was the Yorkie and gravy. Toilets are frankly the worst I've seen in some time. Hot tap completely destroyed, facilities a bit rank to be honest. Service was generally okay, first chap we said hello to was really nice, fella who brought our food order was decent too. Bar staff were unengaged and didn't really seem to care about anything but the basics of why they were there which is a shame. It didn't feel very welcoming. DJ was a nice touch, the soul and soft disco played was really nice. Sort the toilets and the customer experience side of things and this place would be incredible.

Great pub with good food on a Sunday! There was a group playing Irish music which was really nice. After drinking a few pints next to the bar, we moved to another area to sit down for the Sunday roast. It was delicious.

Best pub in Nottingham City centre providing great beer's brewed on the premises, excellent unfussy food & the best mix tape around. The angel has a very eclectic mix of customers adding to its appeal & the staff are superb Well worth finding out & enjoying Easy 5 stars
Stevie B — Google review
Always love a visit to The Angel - great old fashioned atmosphere! However I’ve knocked a star off for what is (for me personally) a terrible beer selection. I always struggle to find a decent pint here; yesterday I counted on the boards 12 IPA type ales, along with 1 stout, several lagers & ciders and not one bitter. Why do pubs today assume that everyone wants IPA? All I want is a smooth, drinkable bitter like Landlord, Abbott, Old Pecular.

Love this pub, and it was great to be back again for a couple of beers on a visit to Canning Circus! Always a warm welcome here, but even better this time, as the fire was glowing!

This is a Lincoln Green pub. It has a good range of beers but they are mostly their own. It has a couple of nice rooms but is a little tired in places. It was early when we visited and quiet.

Fantastic traditional pub with great selection of drinks, friendly bar staff, outdoor seating and chill out areas. The prices were really good compared to the city centre so it's definitely worth a walk up to if you are visiting Nottingham. There was a beer festival on for the weekend when we attended with some excellent local hand pulls.

A place with an impressive selection of gins, lagers, ales etc. Different places to sit in. Thankfully lacking university students. Our drinks bill came to £30. This would have been nearer to £120 in my home town. Definately worth visiting. Food menu looks great but didn't eat. Lovely atmosphere and great bar staff. Nice to see this place still have jugs for ale.

Was quite quiet when we went in, however the service was fast and they brought our drinks to the table. There are also plenty of board games to play which are free. Not too expensive for a pint. Dog friendly too.

The music is too loud, there was no band or singer on so it was just background music it was so loud you had to shout to hear a person next to youi do not have a problem with loud music by when you go to a pub you expect to be able to hold a conversation. The music was a level you would expect at a night club no a pub.

Not been into town late at night for quite a while. But must say it was quite enjoyable. Went here for their Bongos Bingo night. There was quite a queue when we arrived. It is very stricked on the door with searches etc. The door staff were very friendly though.

Me and my friend had a phenomenal time at this club, where many tunes were played over the speakers. We also appreciated the lighting and seating styles, as they boosted the experience! The drinks were affordable and we went for a four bottle vodka deal, but it is unfair that payment is required for belongings to be looked after.
K. P — Google review
Went to the club on a Saturday night. What I loved about it was the fact that there were different rooms which had different vibes and genres of music playing catering to a wide audience! We got the bottle service booth in the grime room which was a good experience. Slightly pricey in my opinion but a good place for a night outside in Nottingham.

When your brother fights in an MMA. And they permit you to leave the building after you get your hand stamped. And then they prevent you from reentering when you come back an hour later. And you miss your brother’s fights. After you travelled to be here. For charity, where you paid a fortune on the tickets. The manager, Joe Marshall, made up some tall tale to keep us out of the club. And their bouncers were rude and condescending. They like people who pay the premium hence they let VIPs in except for us.

Saw Sharon Needles here last Saturday which was excellent. I like the venue though I wouldn't probably come for a general nightclub evening as I'm not into that sort of thing, plus I'm far from local. But the event was great and I love the ambience of the venue. Drinks at the bar I didn't bother with, bottles of water are £2.50 and most drinks about the £5 mark. I did find the seating arrangement a bit disorganized. We were told to wait on the balcony so the VIPs could choose their stall seats first but in the end we sat down anyway as noone called otherwise. It was a fab evening if drag and would visit again next time Sharon's in town!

Nestled in a stunning Victorian building at the heart of Nottingham, BOX Nottingham is a vibrant sports bar that seamlessly blends modern flair with historical charm. With its eye-catching neon signs and colorful decor, it’s an inviting spot for both sports enthusiasts and food lovers alike. The venue boasts an impressive bottomless brunch available daily, featuring delectable dishes like steak frites and barbecue pulled jackfruit burgers, all paired with 90 minutes of unlimited drinks for just £32.95.
Great atmosphere, excellent service. Lots of screens. Perfect for the football or the boxing. Bottle of Prosecco for £36 which is good value. Food was decent I had the salt and pepper fries, pizza and garlic pizza bread. I pre booked a table which I would advise to get a seat in front of a screen. Bar staff were polite. Live music before the boxing was fantastic, people were up dancing so that’s always a good sign. I would go back!
Monisha A — Google review
Hired a private karaoke room. TV broken, couldn't be fixed, no prior warning for us. Gave us a bottle of prosecco to apologise as couldn't refund or reschedule. Then no microphones, waited a while for this to be sorted, no further apologies or help. However, the room itself was fun and great to be just for us. The drinks were also nice and were delivered to our room.

Great spot in Nottingham! BOX has a small outdoor seating area which is nice if you want to have drinks outside, but the real win is the spacious interior — loads of screens everywhere, making it a solid choice for watching sports. We ordered two Long Island Iced Teas, but they came out blue (bit unexpected), and the cocktails in general felt a little overrated, especially considering how many people were there for bottomless brunch. That said, the atmosphere made up for it — really lively vibe, good crowd, great music, and there's even a stage for live performances which adds to the energy of the place. Service was excellent throughout, super friendly and attentive staff. Overall, a fun venue with a buzzing atmosphere. I'd definitely visit again!

Great meeting place with friends. Good food sharing options. Can get loud but what isn't in this area? Good drink selection.
Sheldon P — Google review
My second visit to this amazing place was not disappointing. They seem to have placed the customer at the heart of their thinking in just about every angle. The live music was well chosen with a very talented band who played the audience like a fiddle probing for what would work and then going for it. When things go right without a hitch then it speaks volumes about the chain of command. Everything from the drinks range the decor and ambience and super cleanliness of the rest rooms is something to be proud of and celebrate. The staff were engaging and enthusiastic and left little to chance and that does not happen by accident If there was one word of warning it would be this; the higher the standard you set then the higher standard you have to maintain and that is where you have to leave no room for complacency. As a retired hotel manager I know acutely this dynamic. For now well done.

Perfect place for a relaxing drink after work especially if you work in hospitality! It's open late but keeps the calm vibe, and the staff are all so lovely. A decent range of drinks, with the cocktails being the standout item for me. £5 for good quality cocktails! I had the Espresso Martini, Wrong Island and my favourite the Amaretto Sour. The Blind Rabbit: A Must-Visit for Cocktails and Cool Vibes Rating: 5/5 Stars The Blind Rabbit is exactly what you want in a destination bar: a spot with serious personality, incredible drinks, and fantastic service. We stopped in just for cocktails and were immediately charmed by the atmosphere. We were lucky enough to snag a window seat overlooking the square, and watching the rain fall outside only added to the wonderfully cozy and intimate vibe. The decorations are absolutely everywhere—a wonderful, maximalist feast for the eyes that makes you feel like you've stepped into a hidden world. Every corner holds something unique to look at, creating a fun, intimate, and engaging setting. The service was top-notch. Our server was attentive, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable about the menu, helping guide us through the creative drink selections. Speaking of which, the cocktails were expertly crafted and delicious—a testament to the skill behind the bar. If you’re looking for a memorable night out with high-quality drinks and a truly unique, hidden atmosphere, make sure to find The Blind Rabbit. Highly recommended!

We recently had our wedding celebration here and it was absolutely perfect. The venue was exactly what we were looking for, and the whole day ran seamlessly. We catered for all our guests with a selection of wings and fries — they were a total hit, and people are still talking about them! The staff went above and beyond to ensure every little detail was spot on. It was honestly the best experience any of us have had with venue staff — they were all exemplary, and the company is incredibly lucky to have them. Special thanks to Sunny, who we liaised with during the planning. They were so thorough, supportive, and helpful every step of the way. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Upstairs looks perfect for groups to have fun on the arcade machines with plenty of screens for sports, and also it’s own bar. The food was great value for money, if I’m honest I don’t rate the cocktails and they are over priced so I wouldn’t recommend a cocktail. It’s in a great location with a car park with in 1 minute walk, and tram stops just as close

The Brickworks in Nottingham is a unique warehouse-style nightclub known for its intimate atmosphere and live music events. It features guest DJs like DJ EZ and Chris Lorenzo, offering the best in house and techno music. The venue also hosts regular in-house events throughout the week. Despite some comments about its gritty ambiance, it's popular among those who enjoy the music scene. The large bar inside serves delicious cocktails, adding to the overall experience of this vibrant hotspot.
Saw TEED here in October 2016 and had a sick night. Perfect amount of people let in and the bouncers were incredibly friendly so there was no hassle at all. There's a really nice little smoking area with a fair amount of seating. Beers were 4.50 if I recall correctly and there's plenty of bottled water and other drinks to be had. One of my favourite venues now and would happily go again to see more dance music.

Saw Notion and Oppidan. Sat 28th Sept 24. Positives - The sound system is surprisingly good, and lights are cool. Atmosphere was decent. Quite a cool venue! Active welfare tent. Great bouncers. Negatives - technical difficulties interrupted Notions set a few times, killing the vibe. £5 for a single drink. Toilets are upstairs and small.
Tom R — Google review
Brilliant venue, nice and intimate. Bouncers are some of the friendliest I’ve ever met, as long as your sensible you won’t have any trouble. The venue also attracts friendly people, never seen any trouble there, just 150-250 people all getting along and having fun.
James H — Google review
Although this venue is a great space for music events the last time I went I was searched multiple times, once on the way in, once in the crowd and once after coming out of a toilet cubicle. This was extremely unnecessary and invasive, being accused of having drugs on me and having to go through this put a huge downer on the night, as a result I left early after paying £20 for a ticket. Such a shame as the previous time I went to the venue I had a really good time but this time was quite the opposite.

If you want that pure underground rave feeling and energy, look no further.

Inadequate venue...premium prices for drinks...and tickets but can't manage to provide sufficient toilets so you're either queuing for ages or forced to leave and then refused re entry. Want to be treated like cattle ..this is the place to be.

Wollaton Hall, Gardens and Deer Park is a 16th-century English Renaissance style mansion located in Nottingham. The ancient building houses a natural history museum and is set in parkland with walking trails, a botanical garden, and a variety of flowers. The picturesque park spans five hundred acres and offers ample space for relaxation. Visitors can enjoy bike rides, observe deer in their natural habitat, and marvel at the grand gardens.
Wollaton Hall and Deer Park is a place you want to visit if you are visiting Nottingham. It has a kids' play area, Wollaton Hall, restaurants, cafes, museum, shops, a golf course, and a lake where you will find lots of ducks, swans, and other bird people feed them. Toilets facility available. Lots of open spaces for kids play and run around. It is really nice to visit during summertime with friends and family for picnics. If you ride bicycles, do get it. You will enjoy the ride around the lake and to the top. Ample pay and display parking inside the park. You will certainly enjoy the place.

Visiting Wollaton Park was a dream come true for me as a Batman fan. The moment I found out this was the filming location for Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises, I knew I had to see it—and standing there in front of Wollaton Hall honestly left me in awe. The building is absolutely stunning, with its towering windows and intricate stonework. For a moment, it really felt like I was stepping into Bruce Wayne’s world. The park itself is just as beautiful as the Hall. Wide green spaces, autumn leaves scattered across the grass, and peaceful paths made it feel both grand and calm at the same time. I could’ve stayed there for hours just walking around and taking it all in. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. You can tell they care about the place and its history, and they were happy to chat and answer questions. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. As a Batman nerd, it felt like a pilgrimage to Wayne Manor. But even if you’re not into Batman, Wollaton Park is still an incredible spot to explore—beautiful, relaxing, and full of character.

Great place to visit. The car park is £5, I paid for this in the shop, giving them my number plate. The park is very extensive but it was fantastic to see the deer so close. The house is fascinating with all the natural history displays. This was £15 but the ticket lasts a year. The gardens were also very nice and the view down to the lake was beautiful. The cafe was ok, not the largest selection of food and the drinks were all served in cardboard drinking cups. All the staff everywhere were very friendly and helpful. The shop was nice to look around and standard prices. The toilet facilities were good and clean. There were some near the cafe and in the house. I definitely recommend a visit. On a warm summers day it would be a lovely place to bring a picnic and make a day of it.

Visited the walled gardens specifically. A wonderful, relaxing and fascinating project to restore the site. Lovely volunteers working at the site and amazing progression being made. Only open set times during the summer for tours. A warm welcome. This is a very special place.

Lovely grounds, plenty of deer and a nice walk in fresh air. There are toilets, a café and gift shop.if you need them. You need the Ringgo app to park and pay £6.10 for all day.

The park is about 500 acres. Many children at the playground, families on picnic rugs, deer wandering through acreage. Camellia House & Wollaton Hall are so different. Enjoyed every moment.

Not the best of days from a weather point of view but certainly from the number of people there. We will definitely be coming back and hopefully on the next visit go around the house. The cafe coffee and smoked bacon baguette was superb imo.

The City of Caves in Nottingham is a fascinating underground attraction that offers a glimpse into the city's rich history. The network of over 500 sandstone caves has been developed since Anglo-Saxon times and now serves as a popular family destination. Visitors can explore various historical sites within the caves, including a medieval tannery, Victorian slum remnants, and an air raid shelter from World War 2.
What an awesome tour guide Stephen was. Brought the unusual caves of Nottingham to life with some great stories told with wit and passion. The best thing we experienced in Nottingham and value for money, purely for Stephen let alone the interesting cave/tunnels. Total time 1-1.5 hours

These Guided tours are very informative and interesting, great on a hot day as it's lovely and cool down there. We visited with the intention of us all going in, however it's not ideal for toddlers. Our 1 and a 1/2 year old son would have found it very frustrating had he gone down. Our kids between 9-13years loved it as a lot of the tour was about children! Would recommend a visit with kids or as a couple of you are Into hidden history of cities!

Had a nice experience while visiting the place. Better to buy tickets in advance. The entrace is under the flyover next to the Contemporary Art Gallery. The staff is nice you can ask many questions about the cave system. Our guide was very nice giving good information about the life people had in the past and how the cave systems were used in the past. The way he explained some interesting facts were funny, engaging and informative in the same time. Inside the temperature is comfortable. If you're visiting Nottingham give it a try you'll like it.

Dave our guide put on an entertaining tour with fun and drama to keep the younger members of the group entertained. It’s great when someone puts so must effort into making this tour so memorable in the forty five minutes time frame. Thanks for giving me an insight into life in the caves as I’d no idea so much took place there.

A must-see in Nottingham! The caves are fascinating, and our guide Andy was fantastic — funny, knowledgeable, and full of great stories that brought the underground history to life. Top tip: wear comfy shoes, as the ground can be uneven. Such a unique experience right under the city centre!
Leftheris R — Google review
Hidden beneath the bustling streets of Nottingham lies an extraordinary network of history, atmosphere, and intrigue — the City of Caves. This subterranean wonder is more than a collection of ancient sandstone chambers; it is a living chronicle of the city’s past, beautifully preserved and thoughtfully presented. My visit was made all the more memorable thanks to our fantastic tour guide, Sam, whose warmth, wit, and depth of knowledge brought the caverns vividly to life. From the moment the tour began, she effortlessly balanced historical insight with engaging humour — even jesting that if we didn’t enjoy the experience, we should attribute it to “Philip” instead. Naturally, there was no need for poor Philip to take the fall; Sam’s delivery was impeccable. Her ability to weave fascinating anecdotes of medieval tanners, wartime air raid shelters, and long-forgotten dwellers transformed what could have been a simple historical walkthrough into a truly immersive journey. One could almost feel the weight of centuries pressing gently through the stone walls, softened by Sam’s charm and enthusiasm. The atmosphere below ground is simultaneously eerie and comforting — dimly lit tunnels giving way to surprisingly spacious chambers, each echoing with the whispers of those who once lived and worked here. It’s a setting that invites reflection, curiosity, and, for those with an appreciation for the finer subtleties of history, genuine awe. In short, the City of Caves is a Nottingham treasure — a reminder that some of the most remarkable stories are told not in grand halls or museums, but in the quiet depths beneath our feet. With Sam as your guide (or perhaps “Philip,” should you prefer the mystery), it is an experience not to be missed.

Buy tickets in advance to get a time slot. The tickets are valid for twelve months. The guided tour was great, lots of stories and information from our guide. Would recommend, along with the Halls of Justice. Maybe not for the claustrophobic!

The venues are known for their good acoustics and attention to detail, providing an unparalleled experience for entertainment lovers. With seating options catering to all guests and professional stage crew ensuring a perfect show vibe, these venues are must-visits for culture-rich experiences or casual entertainment.
This is a lovely venue, nice and impressive from the inside and out. It has comfortable seating and the view from the stalls are great for the price. I look forward to coming back. Getting there could not be easier- basically get the Park n Ride Tram and you are right outside the front door. Great for those not keen on walking or those who use wheelchairs. The snacks on offer and drinks are nice, well-priced and tasty. Nice place to visit.

Stunning venue, feel like you're taken back in time in the actual theatre, itself! Not much foot room, though, in normal seating. But that just me being a little picky! Great access for disabled, wheelchair user's etc, Informative & friendly staff! Bars on most levels, lift to all floors!

Amazing venue! Performed at the Royal Concert Hall for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been to gigs here but always wanted to play on the stage. It didn’t disappoint! Just a wonderful room to perform and the audience were brilliant. Highly recommended!

We are so blessed to have so many great concert and theatres venues in Nottingham. The theatre royal is fabulous for plays and the concert hall for artists. On this occasion I went to see " Queen of the Night " A Whitney Houston tribute . The whole show was fantastic, she looked and sounded like Whitney , the band was top class and all engaged so well with the audience. Loved the show. As for the Concert Hall, great seating and views, fabulous acoustic, friendly helpful staff and very good pricing. Downsides, no bar and very poor toilet facilities, especially for women where the queue is huge. If they got those two things upgraded would easily be a 5 star venue.
Sam B — Google review
My first time since childhood, probably about 50 years ago. There's a strange kind of beauty within the theatre slightly haunting and enigmatic which draws the eye around theatre and up to the beautiful ceiling. If you get the opportunity to go to a show, take it, it's an incredible place .

I loved my visit to see Kinky Boots at the Theatre.. my 1st visit in over 20 years. I was so chuffed to get a wheelchair seat and one where my sister (carer) could be with me too. She helped me and made sure I was okay everywhere. The view from accessible seating is a touch restricted as it's under the dress circle at the back of the stalls (any action high up is hard to see but as most happens at stage level.. all was good and I loved the show. It's got to be good views as its at the side of the lighting desk and they need to see too! See my video for your view.

We recently went to see Explorers with James May, which was excellent. However please be aware when visiting this venue, that you may need a mortgage to have a drink. The bar prices are extortionate, 1 pint and a soft drink £11!! I understand the bars are run by a third party, if I were in charge of the venue, I would ask if profit is coming before customer satisfaction! This does not give the venue a very good image, especially when paying for tickets which were later reduced, if I left my booking nearer the date of the show.

Rachel Cheung at Nottingham Royal Concert Hall – A Moment Never to Forget At today’s recital by Rachel Cheung at the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall, I was graced with a front-row seat barely ten feet from the piano. The experience exceeded every expectation by a furlong. To hear someone perform Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata — all three movements — is a rare and unforgettable privilege. The tension was almost tangible as the climactic third movement began: a storm of emotion expressed not only through her fingers but also through the intensity on her face. It cast a spell over the entire audience. Between movements, the hall was so silent that one could hear a pin drop. The audience, deeply respectful, withheld their applause so as not to break the spell. It was a shared moment of reverence — performer and audience bound in awe. To listen, to watch, to learn, and to love such exceptional talent is one of life’s rare blessings. To have been seated so close — to witness such mastery and emotion at arm’s reach — made it an experience I will never forget.

The Framework Knitters Museum in Ruddington, just south of Nottingham, is a living museum that showcases the traditional craft of framework knitting. This unique museum offers a glimpse into the region's rich knitting heritage, with historic cottages and workshops where visitors can observe knitters at work using techniques passed down through generations. The museum also features preserved workshops, workers' cottages, a garden, cafe, shop, exhibition spaces, and a chapel.
Lovely little museum you can easily spend a few hours in surrounded by local history. Gill and all the volunteers were so lovely and passionate about the site and Nottingham history. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you, Gill!

An absolutely fabulous museum with friendly, helpful and knowledgable volunteers and staff. By far the best small museum I have ever visited. An informative experience in terms of social history, engineering advances and the subsequent industrialisation of the craft of knitting. The cafe served great coffee and tasty cakes, so make time to enjoy these. The shop is an excellent chance to purchase beautifully crafted goods.
Maggie S — Google review
The name of the museum is reflective of its subject, however you have to listen to the history of framework knitting and the cottage industry to fully appreciate just how wonderful this museum is. If you are unfamiliar with this subject it would be easy to assume the museum will be a few rooms with wool, bobbins and knitting needles. This museum is not how you might imagine it and has a wealth of information on its inception, its inhabitants, the working conditions of the community, real working examples of the machinery and a group of volunteers who clearly hold a special place in their hearts for this museum. Upon arrival, we had a very warm and informative welcome as first time visitors, and this was reflected with every single person we met throughout. After being shown the way to the museum by the lovely receptionist, we met Sally, who's knowledge and passion shone through in what felt like a private personalised tour of the cottages. Sally didn't talk at us with factoids in a rushed manner, she interacted with us to understand our current knowledge on each subject and would provide insights into both the general historic knowledge of the industry and the specific history of the premises. She was incredibly warm and friendly throughout and we cannot thank her enough. We then met, (I think) Eva in the circular knitting building who again was incredibly passionate and happy to explain both the history of the circular machines and the history of the museum. Again, happy to answer any questions we had and allowed us to try our hand at using some working examples of the machinery. The passion and energy in talking about the subject with her was equally as pleasant and memorable. Finally, we met Gill in the framework building who matched the energy of her other colleagues in showing us the machinery, providing historic insights into the development of the industry and explained how the machinery worked. We were able to witness her skillfully demonstrate one of the machines operating which was a sight to behold. Overall, we had a great time and we are looking forward to coming back again. Thank you to everyone we met today.

I’d give this place 10 stars if I could!!! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it certainly exceeded all expectations. Such a hidden gem, definitely worth the trip. The volunteers and staff were so wonderfully knowledgeable and passionate, I learned so much during my visit today. The museum portion was fantastic, I even got to try out the circular knitting machine myself! Also there is a lovely cafe where you can grab a bite to eat where I saw babies and a dog, so it’s a very welcoming place. On my way out I purchased a couple souvenirs/gifts as well. I so enjoyed learning the history of framework knitting (I had no idea what it even was prior to my visit), as well as the personal details of the Parker family who owned it for generations. Thanks for a great day!!

Excellent little museum of framework knitting machines. Great for anyone interested in the past, machinery, how people lived and worked around the Victorian era. Guides were very knowledgeable and super helpful with our grandchildren. The drinks and cakes from the cafe were top notch. Lovely garden area to sit in to have our drinks and food. Lovely little shop and friendly staff. 90% is on the ground floor so the majority is accessible. Parking is a little limited but there is parking within walking distance. We would definitely recommend visiting. Our grandchildren 7yrs and 11yrs also said they liked it.

A wonderful hands on museum, I loved it. Didn't expect to spend so long there, but it was fascinating to hear all about the history and to try a spot of machine knitting. Such enthusiastic and knowledgeable museum guides were a great surprise, thank you The on site cafe was equally good. I would suggest allowing about 2 hours to visit.

This little gem went completely under my radar for the 50 years I've lived in Nottingham! Glad I finally visited the best example of framework knitting history in the country. It's a small place but packs a punch in terms of engrossing information and actual working 200 year old machines. You can even have a go yourself and produce clothing exactly as it was a century or so ago. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and transform what could have been a very dry experience into a fascinating few hours of information and hands on experience. Whether this sort of thing interests you or not (and I thought it probably wouldn't for me!) you'll come away with a much better knowledge of working life for historical knitters, aswell as an insight into just how important Nottingham was for the textile trade. I for one recommend this for anyone interested in history.
