Event venue
Nestled just a short distance from Main Beach, Loft Byron Bay exudes an air of coastal elegance with its white walls, comfortable seating, and inviting wooden tables. The venue is open daily from late afternoon until midnight, offering a range of happy hour specials, select beers, an extensive wine list, and unique cocktails such as the lychee chilli coconut martini and the Brookies spring gimlet.
We hired out the private dining room on the 18th of March for a meal after our wedding ceremony. It was absolutely perfect. The staff were fantastic - Whitney helped me In the run-up to the day with the food menu, drinks and the room. The food was incredible and service was outstanding. So accommodating! Our guests have continuously commented that the food was beautiful. We thought that the cost of the meal and the drinks was extremely reasonable! We planned the wedding from the other side of the world and the meal could not have gone any better. We are so grateful to the team at the loft and we are confident that we will return again! My only disappointment is that we live at the other side of the world or else we would be regulars!! thank you for making it so special! Harriet & Kieran xx

Still a favourite place to go. The best lychee martinis around. Quites possibly the best fish I have ever had. The owner came out for a chat which was great. Highly recommend

Our favourite place in Byron for oysters and cocktails. Every time we come back the staff make us feel so welcome. Beautiful view of the ocean and Main Street. Family friendly and absolutely delicious food.
Allanah H — Google review
Lovely lunch at the Loft almost all the dishes were delicious. The Lobster Spaghetti was exquisite and the Crispy Twice Cooked Pork Ribs fabulous. All the sides were lovely and paired well with the mains. The only dish that dissapointed was the Spinach & Nettle Pasta subtle flavours- under seasoned and couldn't taste the crunchy chilli flakes. Staff were friendly but keen to drop and go and not ensure anything else was needed - drinks .
Sophy G — Google review
The food in the loft is nothing short of excellent. From the service to the food I couldn’t fault a thing in here. Cocktail menu and wine menu has a great variety to choose from. Our waitress Paloma really made our night here she was brilliant at her job and made us feel right at home. Can’t wait for my next meal here!

Came here just for a few cocktails in the afternoon. Siting up by the balcony watching over the street seeing the world go by is the way to go! The restaurant decor is fitting for the beachy vibe, The staff are very attentive and kept the cocktails (which all were very tasty) rolling! Definitely worth a stop even if it’s for a drink and just a chill out overlooking Byron’s streets
Rick C — Google review
The food & drinks here are amazing! Also has a great atmosphere with super friendly staff. It’s so nice to see the owners/management also treat their staff so lovely as well. Great vibe. Will definitely be back :)
Natasha M — Google review
Not quite 4 stars... Happy hour specials, especially the drinks, seemed to be the rule when checking out what other patrons were doing. And if you only come here once, I would recommend it for happy hour - oysters for $2.50 (very fresh, recommend without the sauce), half price deli board that was loaded with meats (really nice pickle & chillies), a nice house white (easy drinking) and a decent margarita. On-trend decor with a decent vibe. Get a table overlooking the steet below for some people watching while you sip. Was it the best ever? No. But it was decent. Would I come here again? Glad I tried it.

Oyster bar restaurant
Cocktail bar
The Balcony Bar & Oyster Co. is a lively and airy restaurant in Byron Bay, offering a relaxed atmosphere with a balcony for outdoor dining. It's known for its delectable oysters and other seafood delicacies, making it one of the top seafood restaurants in the area. The menu features seasonal fare, tapas, cocktails, and brunch options.
Great place for a lovely dinner. Excellent crab linguine, fabulous lycée iced tea. Sauce with the rump steak a little rich but tasty. Very attentive service by Meg and colleagues. Very nice decor inside and on the balcony itself, good views over the main town street. Varied menu and deals for different times of day etc. Would thoroughly recommend!
Georgie W — Google review
My husband & I came for dinner on Sunday night. Sitting outside on the balcony. Love the decor & atmosphere of this place, cozy & pretty. We had the chilli Moreton bay bug pasta, spiced chicken & fries. Everything was so good, especially the bay bug pasta so tasty. The portion was quite generous to share for 2 persons. We were so full. I also had their classic margarita, it’s perfect! They have drag show on Sunday night, sadly we didn’t stay until the show start. The staff were all lovely and polite. Highly recommended to come here if you visit Byron Bay.
Monica S — Google review
August 2025 Our Sunday dinner at The Balcony was far from the enjoyable experience we hoped for to end our weekend. We used to regard this restaurant as a fantastic venue and visited every time we were in Byron, but after tonight, we will not be returning. Upon arrival, the receptionist attempted to seat us outside in the cold without asking for our seating preference. The waiter, a tall young man with a tattoo on his arm (I couldn't catch his name as staff were not wearing name tags), seemed disinterested, often looking up at the ceiling while we placed our order. Unsurprisingly, our bread was forgotten—though perhaps that was for the best. My glass of rosé arrived warm and had an unpleasant, sour taste; I couldn't bring myself to drink it. The grilled snapper appeared and smelled questionable, so I opted not to take a chance and requested that it be returned to the kitchen. After consulting the chef, who indicated he couldn't offer a better option, I canceled the order. The second main dish, the pork cutlet, was not much of an improvement. When we settled our bill, no one inquired about our experience or whether we enjoyed our meal. The service was disappointing, and the atmosphere felt quite dreary. It was evident that they were busy, likely due to many other restaurants being closed on Sundays, leaving patrons with few options. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money for a restaurant that values its customers and provides quality food and service.
Inna M — Google review
Absolutely brilliant experience. So wonderful to revisit one of my favourite restaurants in Byron Bay . Incredibly beautiful atmosphere and the best service always. The place was packed by 6 pm and two stand out staff members were Alice and Sarah . The food was absolutely delicious and quickly served . Great choice of food and fantastic drink🍷 menu . Highly recommend. Congratulations to the management for such a well-oiled restaurant and amazing staff .
Tracey A — Google review
I love the drinks, food and service here. This is why I came back again to celebrate my birthday alone. Anna also gave me amazing service. I really love this moment in the restaurant!!!
ชลธิชา อ — Google review
The only redeeming part of this restaurant is its vibe and balcony view. Otherwise the service is horrible and the food is overpriced. Flagging down a server for any request took forever and our food was either incredibly bland or over salted.
Sadaf R — Google review
Either the staff who have had good reviews here get their friends to post them, or not one of them happened to be there for our visit. We went on a weeknight, so it wasn’t too busy, yet the staff were very inattentive. The music was too loud to be able to have a conversation and once we got her attention, even the waitress had trouble hearing our orders. There was a few of us so we got to sample a range of entrees which were quite good, however when it came to the $120 hot seafood “platter” we felt jipped. For that amount of money you receive 2 medium prawns and 1 Moreton Bay bug cut into halves, a couple of octopus tentacles (not calamari as stated on the menu, but it was cooked to perfection) and 2 small pieces of fish which, to be honest, could have been cat food. I understand there’s rent and wages to pay, but come on. After our meal no one asked came to check to see if we wanted drinks or dessert, which we did, so we ended up leaving and spending the rest of our money somewhere where it was appreciated.
Ros W — Google review
We had such a great time at the balcony bar! The staff were next level friendly but particularly Morgan, she stood out for her kindness and genuine approach. Every interaction with her was super positive and full of enthusiasm! She was so nice and kind it really amplified our experience here. We will definitely come again! Thank you Morgan, she’s definitely one to keep! Keep the positive energy around here, she’s got what it takes! Merci xxx

Stone & Wood Brewery in Byron Bay is a laid-back and popular spot offering guided tours, tastings of their signature ales, and one-off batches. Located at the Old Arts Factory, it's known for its live music venue that has been hosting artists from around the world for over 35 years.
Outstanding from Start to Finish This was hands down the most informative brewery tour I’ve ever experienced—and the generous beer tastings were a fantastic bonus. Our French host was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also warm, engaging, and eager to share insights. In fact, every staff member we encountered was exceptional—genuinely friendly and full of personality. The beer itself? Absolutely top-tier, with a diverse range to suit every palate. And the in-house restaurant holds its own too, serving up delicious food that pairs perfectly with the brews. If you’re in the Byron Bay area, this place is an absolute must-visit. 💯
Jay D — Google review
This is a great spot to include in your family day trip itinerary—especially if you're exploring around Byron Bay. It's a place where you come for the vibe as much as the drinks. There’s a wide variety of beers available, and you can sample them on site. If you find one you like, you can even take some home. Overall, it’s a really nice place to relax and take a break along your journey!
Lois C — Google review
Beers itself are excellent, nice choices. The brewery looks amazing and although we didn’t get a tour, it’s fascinating to see the inside. One comment about the staff, they were not customer friendly- especially the blonde woman serving us, impatient and dismissive, seemed like she didn’t want to be there and super short in her answers. As a bar manager I would have had a conversation with her about this, but of course could just be an off day. Other staff seemed more interested in whipping each other with towels and cliquey in a smug way (customers appeared as a hindrance instead of a means of business). This kind of let the place down. Some smiles would be nice
Zach — Google review
Delicious beer and food. The atmosphere is chill. I did not take pictures of our food, we ordered the wing BBQ plate for 2 to share and it was perfect. My favorite was the easy pale ale. Cheers.
Yazmin B — Google review
We had a brilliant time enjoying a tour of the brewery. Rhianna was a wonderful guide and shared her knowledge and made it all fun. We must have had 8 different tastings. Food started at 1/pm on the Saturday and the place was pumping by then. Definitely worth a visit.
Megan R — Google review
Good food and beers...strong selection of classic Pale Ales. Pretty chill lunch in the sunny beer garden at the front. EV charging onsite is a bonus.
Alan N — Google review
Great venue…for beer drinkers. $25 paddle with 5 beers good value. About a $15 Uber drive out of Byron. But Not a single wine option for those accompanying the beer drinkers. (Only non beer alcoholic option was ginger beer). Would have spent more time here-and eaten lunch here-if there had been wine as an option. Seems an odd choice not to cater to everyone, lost $ from us.

Located in a trendy area, The Mez Club is a Mediterranean restaurant with stylish beach-themed decor. It offers flavorful cocktails and delicious bites like warm pita with dukkah and crispy haloumi. Other recommended dining spots for a great night out include Barrio, St Elmo Dining Room & Bar, Raes on Wategos, and Beach Byron Bay. Just a short stroll from The Atlantic, The Mez Club provides an after-dark experience inspired by Mediterranean culinary cultures.
The atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was absolutely delicious, especially the grilled scallops. We loved every dish we ordered, and you really must give it a try.

OMG! So yummy, food was absolutely delicious! Don’t get me started on the cocktails!! Our waitress was absolutely amazing and lovely! Bartender killed the drinks! Heaps of recommendations were given! Was amazing!

All of the dishes can be shared which we loved, perfect for date night. Not only was the food unreal but the service was outstanding. Fellow foodies you will love this place! Incredible flavours.

Hugo was a delight! Made our night. Great food. Fabulous atmosphere. Thank you for having us.
Jessica — Google review
Amazing meal and service here on our weekend wedding anniversary getaway in Byron. Started with cocktails and then enjoyed the little Mez banquet for $70 each. Each dish was mouth watering. I particularly enjoyed the haloumi with smoked honey, balsamic onions, pecans, seasonal fruit and the wagyu strip loin. Thanks Hugo for looking after us so well. Atmospheric music from the DJ was just right too!
Kerry D — Google review
What a fantastic experience! Excellent service was just the start. The place itself looks and feels great to be in, the food was incredible and all for a very reasonable cost.
Peter A — Google review
The place is so cozy and the vibe is very relaxing. I love the interior design especially the central fireplace as a focal point. The food is sooooo delicious! It’s absolutely perfection! We ordered the Wagyu Striploin and the Slow cooked Lamb with Burnt Broccolini and Moroccan Roasted Carrots. Shout out to the amazing chef and to Elena-the lovely host. I enjoyed having my birthday dinner here. 💯
Judel O — Google review
We dined at The Mez Club and ordered the halloumi, which unfortunately tasted very similar to meat. As vegetarians, we had mentioned our dietary preferences to the waitress, who specifically recommended this dish. The flavor was quite off-putting and didn’t seem appropriate for a vegetarian option. When we raised our concern, the response was rather disappointing — instead of offering an alternative or a gesture such as some bread or removing the item from the bill, the dish was simply taken away. A truly good restaurant shows its quality through care and attentiveness to its guests. Unfortunately, that sense of care seemed to be missing during our visit. It’s not really worth the money.

The Northern Hotel is a charming, two-story tavern that offers hearty pub grub and locally brewed beer. Recently refurbished, it now includes a speakeasy-style cocktail bar where you can try the infamous Devil Bird cocktail. The pub also features live rock bands and has hosted famous musicians like PJ Harvey and the White Stripes in its Backroom.
Can not beat the piano bar for a night out in Byron. Been twice in a row probably will go tonight. Make sure to request love story by Taylor Swift

The most amazing atmosphere with the duelling piano night. The service was first class, my only criticism is only the sweet potato fries were a coeliac safe gluten free options.
Em — Google review
A friend and I went here for steak one evening a couple of weeks ago, she ordered medium rare, I ordered medium. After an hour long wait we were greeting with two steaks which were burnt beyond recognition. I notified a staff member that our meals were wrong, and we instructed to go back to our table and wait for the manager to come and inspect them. After a 15 minute wait in which the manager failed to materialise, we ate the steaks which were by this point cold. After this cold and calamitous culinary conundrum, I went back to the original staff member and notified him of the situation, and we were told that had we not eaten the steaks, we could have a refund or another meal. I told him that the only reason we ate them was because the elusive manager never appeared, and we’d already waited an hour and ten minutes for the food to arrive. He said that there was nothing he could do, and when I asked to speak to the manager he gave me a careless shrug and said that he didn’t know where he was, and that I could explore the venue and look for him myself if I wanted - a perfect solution. I told him I felt as though we were being treated poorly, and he said dismissively that there’s nothing more he can do for us. This was a shame as we frequent the Northern regularly for trivia night, and quite like the venue, however after this experience I’ll take my business to someplace that cares about its customers and can produce a somewhat edible meal. For a venue of this size and reputation, the quality and service were negligent and disappointing. A simple steak and basic customer service should not be an unreasonable expectation. Sadly, this experience has put me off returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a decent meal and some reasonable treatment in Byron.
Jarad D — Google review
I went there twice for the piano bar and it was Amazing. Such a fun environment. Drinks were great, and the environment was also incredible with everyone singing along with the pianists and you get to put in requests for songs.
Niamh S — Google review
The duelling pianos, every night at the pub. Just the best. A must do when you visit Byron and The Northern!
Maria B — Google review
Best everyday bar in Byron’s Bay. HH everyday 3-6p, good local brews, decent food, fun music, live TV sports and live music.
Leo M — Google review
Do not queue and do not wait on the 'waitlist.' Waited for almost 2 hours, bought multiple round of drinks in the meantime at the poorly serviced front bar. Eventually let into the dueling pianos (with an overpriced fee) only to be met with rude staff, a full bar and had to go back out to the foyer and into the disco room to find a usable toilet. There seems to be no point in queueing for over an hour for such a rubbish experience. Go literally anywhere else if you can.
Aoife S — Google review
It’s great fun at the piano bar but for gods sake only go if you’re going to get with the vibe!! Don’t just stand there, put your hands in the air!! Sing and dance! It’s the perfect opportunity to.

Located on Jonson Street in Byron Bay, Rails Kitchen has been a beloved establishment for over 40 years. It is renowned for its free live music and vibrant atmosphere, attracting both local and touring bands from various genres such as roots, reggae, blues, funk, folk, and rock. The venue's sun-drenched beer garden offers an ideal setting to unwind and savor classic pub fare while enjoying a summer afternoon.
Went to see Soul'D band and decided to have dinner as well. Food really good, wasn't sure as it's a rough and ready casual fun vibe there. Five stars as one of our friends got up for a dance and staff didn't realise and took her only just started dinner. They had no problems replacing it. Would definitely go back for just the food.

Landed on the Bus station and made this my first stop. The staff were really friendly and tried the calamari. The chef was very nice. After a long journey perfect place to drop in. They have restrooms and beer. Nothing more needs to be said. Pretty much everything is walking dostance from here as well. Large and spacious outdoor area for relaxing. Also has toilets. To get in you may have to go around a winding path from the station. Wheelchair people can definetly access as well as long as you make it to the front. Not sure about disabled toilets though.

Gus was great. The food was very ordinary, very. I think cook wasn't happy. The fish is just small bit and overcooked. The bar staff are friendly and happy except one girl, with long pony tails, who said she was so tired she wanted to leave. I would do permanently. The new USA guy was a good bartender, remembering what you drink and was happy.

Gave us a dead buzzer and had us wait for over an hour for our food before telling us it had been sitting on the counter for half an hour… after asking them to make new garlic bread Because it was freezing cold one the chef was really annoyed about and and put the same bread I gave him back in the oven the. Forget about it for 30 minutes and served me burnt garlic bread after an hour and a half 🤣🤣 head chef with the beard seems like a legend but needs to get on top of the other rude chefs which no idea what they’re doing

As evening falls, the terrace becomes the perfect spot for savoring Mediterranean fare and cocktails before transitioning into a lively dance venue with resident DJs spinning tunes late into the night.
Worth the trek up the stairs for some fabulous drinks and delicious food. Came here for sunset and happy hour - golden rays and gorgeous drinks at good prices. The steak was so drool-worthy we got a second one... We thought the pumpkin hommus was good but then the asparagus came out... And then the lamb skewer. So good. But then the steak... The pic doesn't do it justice. Honestly one of the best I've ever had. And so good, we had to get another one. Almost picked up the plate to lick it clean... Have been here a few times now and never disappointed.

A Truly Magical Evening at Casa Luna ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Last night we celebrated our daughter’s 21st birthday at Casa Luna, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear we were in for a special evening. The atmosphere was warm, elegant, and inviting – every little detail was perfectly considered, creating an ambiance that made the night feel truly memorable. A heartfelt thank you to Bryan, who went above and beyond to enhance our experience. Not only was he attentive and professional, but he also took the time to capture some stunning family photos for us – images we will truly treasure forever. Our gratitude also goes out to the gorgeous lady who attended our table. I wish I had caught her name because her kindness and engaging nature made such a lasting impression. Nothing was too much trouble, and her genuine pleasantness added so much joy to the evening. The food was absolutely delicious – each dish beautifully presented and full of flavour. And the cocktails? Easily the best we’ve ever had! You can taste the care and creativity in every sip. Casa Luna strikes that rare balance of excellence and heart – the value of the entire experience was spot on, and it’s clear that the team genuinely cares about making each guest feel special. We couldn’t recommend Casa Luna more. They get it, and they deliver. Thank you so, so much for giving our family such a memorable night. We will be back!

What a vibe! Our large group tried a wide variety of dishes and we all agreed that the tastes, textures and presentation were exceptional. So fresh and creative. Staff were friendly and attentive and the DJ rocked. Congratulations Casa Luna, best restaurant experience we could have wished for!

So happy we picked this place for a cute dinner while in Byron! The vibe was immaculate and we came just in time for Happy Hour. Food and cocktails were also amazing. Our server, Bryan, gave us recommendations throughout the night and we felt very well looked after. We’ll be back!

A really cool place with a very upscale chic vibe. Would be perfect for couples on a date night. I went to try their Lamb skewers and ended up getting one of their cocktails. The food was delicious and the cocktail entertaing. Lachie behing the bar is a very cool operator who gave me good service and made me the cocktail. The other staff are also very pleasant and hospitable which made the experience for me as a solo traveller very nice. A bit expensive and the portions are small. Do not go if you’re just hungry and want a big feast. But for a date night or just relaxing, very cool place with a beautiful view in the evening. Turns into a club at night!

Incredible hospitality from Lachlan and the team. We were so impressed by the menu and wine list; the food was absolutely to die for. Highly recommend the scallops and scotch fillet. Location is super easy and central and the atmosphere was intimate but fun. Super fast service too. Could not rate highly enough!

Tucked away in a quiet street, this place is a hidden beauty. Atmosphere is exotic and romantic. Service is friendly and positive, but could have been slightly more attentive as we were in the corner and struggled to get attention a few times. Cocktails were excellent. Food was pretty good overall. The appetisers were incredible, especially the warm plump olives and the spicy pumpkin humus. The medium sized plates were solid but not as amazing. Lamb skewers were fresh but lack seasoning and flavour. The tuna was a bit over cured, which made it a bit stringy. Overall a beautiful experience and lovely night out.

Great experience from start to finish. The cocktails were amazing, and the service was excellent with really attentive customer care. The atmosphere was perfect, not too busy or loud, so it was easy to enjoy a good chat.

Bar Heather is a Parisian-inspired wine bar located in Byron Bay. The 60-seat restaurant, nestled in the Jonson Lane development, offers a cozy and shadowy ambiance. The establishment is known for its natural wine selection curated by savvy importers James Audas and Tom Sheer, who also run Luna Wine Store across the road.
Had a memorable night at Bar Heather . food was innovative and outstanding , service friendly and professional, we sat at the chefs table on the pass and felt like we were part of the action , the kitchen team worked efficiently and effortlessly, a mark of a good restaurant and great head chef Atmosphere in the restaurant was very vibey and casual. Would highly recommend to serious foodies and people who enjoy good food executed brilliantly! A big thank you to Nina and the incredible team , will definitely be back soon

We loved this little bar! The vibe was European with great wine options! Highly recommend the betel leaf was our highlight, closing followed by the prawn toast & the chip. We didn’t like the tuna (not much flavour) or the scollops. Also, the ginger custard was incredible, one of the best desserts we have had.

Last night we went on a truly unforgettable food journey at Bar Heather, a cozy wine bar and restaurant right in the heart of Byron Bay. The Chef’s Table is just two seats in front of the kitchen where the magic happens inches away, and every little spark, aroma, and movement tells its own story. From the first moment, we felt completely immersed in something intimate and unique. With the chef and sommelier guiding us, each dish became its own chapter: fifteen bites full of creativity, precision, and heart. It wasn’t just dinner, it was a full sensory experience, a moment of passion, art, and pure enjoyment. I am so grateful to have been part of this incredible journey.

Amazing food, the stand out was the bay lobster maltagliati - 10/10!!! Every dish we tried was delicious. Great wine list with excellent suggestions. Staff and service was outstanding and attentive. The bar had a good vibe and we ended on a good note with dessert. The most interesting and surprise was the ginger custard. Would definitely recommend, it was our best dinner out in Byron.

A bit disappointed. I dont understand the vibes. Tables, seat and space was not comfortable, table is too small for dinning experience. Oysters and local fish - standard Cuttlefish was nice but too much pepper, kill the dish. Prawn toast - over-cooked, can skip, I had too many good prawn toast than this one, nothing special. Cabbage , only 3 leaf of cabbage, chef are you kidding me? Don’t order cocktails here. Maybe just go for wine is better. Or go to Pixie Italian, much better!!

A fantastic night of fine dining. The chef created a unique coeliac vegan menu for the two of us, including a number of small and larger plates that delivered intense flavours and showcased exceptional culinary skills. Some of those courses in pics below. This is fine dining as good as it gets. Accompanied by a great wine list and the perfect bottle to match our food chosen by the somellier. Thanks to all involved. Ps - ok, if we had one request it would be for one of the courses to have been plant protein based but that’s a teeny tiny one ;)

Hello to the coolest kid in Byron! We were transported from the traditional margaritas and poke bowls of Bryon, into a world of incredible wines and elevated snack offerings… the prawn toast and betel leaf dishes,🤌🏻!! There is a lot to call out at Bar Heather, though it was Tess behind the bar, who brought the magic!👑 Tess guided us through the menu and wine list, with experience and passion beyond her years! Sometimes it’s the quietest, smallest bar/restaurant who brings the biggest wow moments, and Bar Heather did exactly that!

By far the best food in the area, potentially even the country. All of the dishes were so unique and unlike anything I have ever tried before. A few highlights from the menu were the Albaoore with Rye Toast, the maltagliati with Bay Lobster and you must must try the burnt caramel ice cream. It was without a doubt the best I have ever had and you cannot leave without trying this. All of the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. There were some incredible wines on the menu and the staff were helpful in making suggestions for the best wines to pair with our dishes. I didn't get to try any of the cocktails but this gives me an excuse to go back for another visit. The Espresso Martinis looked pretty good and I look forward to having one on my next visit. A highlight of our holiday so far and a must visit place that we will be rushing back to on all future visits to the area. A great choice for either a date night or a girls night out.

The Roadhouse Byron Bay is a charming and light-filled cafe with a rustic-chic vibe, featuring a spacious terrace for guests to enjoy. The cafe offers a creative brunch menu that changes regularly based on locally grown produce from Byron farmers.
Perfect place to have breakfast or brunch. You can always spot cool staff, really friendly. We tried the avocado toast, and the Eggs Benedict, everything super tasty and healthy. The coffee is real good! We found the size of the toasts really fulfilling, so worth it.

Having liked the look of the Roadside as I drove by, I decided to drop in for brunch one sunny morning, and I’m pleased I did. It’s a popular spot, but I was fortunate to find parking and an outside table where I could sit with my dog on the ground next to me. The outdoor area is relaxed and peaceful, so it’s easy to forget its roadside location. Staff were friendly and efficient. The wait time for my order was next to nothing. My flat white was strong, flavoursome and artistically presented. For my meal, I chose the eggs, poached, with sides of mushrooms and a hash brown. That was tasty, although the eggs had been poached for a little longer than I would have liked, and were rather on the small side. I guess finding any eggs can be a challenge these days. Overall, a relaxing and enjoyable meal away from the city centre.

We visited The Roadhouse in Byron Bay, and from the moment we arrived, Chef Pedro and Mel, made us feel so at home. They went out of their way to accommodate us, even letting our little pet Luna come in with us, which was very kind. The food was just amazing. Fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. There's a real focus on quality ingredients and simplicity done to perfection. It was such a good experience that we had to go back the next morning for breakfast. As a coffee lover, I can honestly say their coffee is the best in town. Rich, smooth, and made with real care. The atmosphere is warm, rustic, and relaxed, the perfect Byron Bay vibe. If you’re looking for great food, exceptional coffee, and genuine hospitality (plus a pet-friendly touch!), The Roadhouse is an absolute must. Thanks again, Chef Pedro and Mel. We’ll definitely be back!

We ordered a dirty chai, chai latte, and an almond croissant. Everything was delicious, but the croissant took quite a while to arrive. My friend's already finished her chai by then, that's not ideal. Still, it's a perfect place to enjoy the sun!

We usually go here for coffee/brekky - but the SHOWSTOPPER was dinner! Oh my gosh, faultless incredible gourmet beautiful delicious food! The two main chefs are Brazilian who does all the chargrill nibbles/mains and Italian chef who makes the best woodfire pizza we have had….ever! 6 of us dined there and was our favourite meal of the trip. MUST go for dinner. Wish we took more pictures but enjoying ourselves too much. Thank you roadhouse team

An absolute standout! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and incredible service from Melody and the team. The pizzas are delicious, perfectly crisp bases, premium toppings, and the flavours are spot on (the salami with hot honey is a must-try!). Miss Margarita is a lively Mexican cantina located in a trendy open-air eatery, offering a laid-back beachy atmosphere. The restaurant serves up freshly prepared dishes like Chipotle & Lime Char Chicken Fajitas, nachos, quesadillas, tacos, and burritos for both lunch and dinner. The menu also features unique burrito options with ingredients such as crispy fish, mango, garlic mushrooms, and zucchini.
Delicious lunch at Miss Margarita 🌮 Visited Miss Margarita last month for a relaxed afternoon lunch and had a great experience. We ordered the Wagyu beef fajitas and chicken quesadillas — both were absolutely delicious! The beef was tender and full of flavour, while the quesadillas were perfectly cheesy and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and the overall vibe was laid-back and welcoming. Great spot for tasty Mexican food and good times. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Love this Mexican restaurant so much! Every time we visit Byron Bay, it’s our go-to lunch spot. The portions are generous and the flavor is just perfect — exactly what I enjoy! Highly recommend for all Mexican food lovers!

I have been visiting Byron Bay for over 20 years. Always liked the atmosphere as I walked past with my Wife. Finally yesterday we decided to visit (Sunday). WOW seriously please try it as it was seriously amazing. Cannot explain but do try the cucumber margaritas whilst you are there (for those whom do not drink Margaritas). But honestly we are foodys or at least the wife). Best staff I have experienced anywhere and then quick service with amazing Mexican food. Absolutely great value. Not a normal review person but wow. Enjoy if you get the chance. Thanks to each and everyone of the staff as they were all amazing. WOW Thank you.

The atmosphere could have been different if we sat inside but we were outside, the atmosphere was coming from the pub. Service, the lady who greeted us wasn't the friendliest but the rest of the staff were accommodating. Sadly the food was below average, tiny guacamole and guacamole side for $6! Nachos, lacked flavour and ingredients; just a whole lot of chips. Fish tacos were also flavourless but sweet. Spicy margy was decent but little on the watery side. Overall very expensive for the quality, so even more disappointing. Wish I had looked into mexican before just wandering the town for dinner.

Whether you're craving classic tacos, flavorful enchiladas, or fresh ceviche, this restaurant delivers delicious and satisfying meals. The service is also excellent. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. The restaurant itself has a great vibe, making it a popular spot in Byron Bay. The ambiance is lively yet relaxed, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. If you visit, don't miss out on trying their signature dishes and house-made margaritas. The drinks menu offers a variety of options to complement your meal and elevate your dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant for anyone visiting Byron Bay. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this place offers a memorable dining experience with fantastic food, great service, and a vibrant atmosphere. It's definitely worth a visit!

Beach Byron Bay is a stylish beachfront cafe and restaurant that offers a modern Australian menu. It is known for its delicious seafood options and provides a memorable dining experience with stunning coastal panoramas across the bay. The open-air terrace above Clarkes Beach makes it one of the best restaurants in Byron Bay for ocean views, perfect for special occasions.
Don't question it, just make the reservation, you won't be disappointed! There maybe multiple restaurants in Byron Bay, but there is NO OTHER as fantastic as Beach. When you see the portion sizes you will not question the price. The dishes are generous in size and flavour and the presentation is stunning. I was spoilt for choice when perusing the menu. A good reason to come back soon! The service is impeccable. The staff are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate. They invest a lot of consideration and care in ensuring you have a wonderful experience. The mussel dish I chose for my entree was probably one of the best I have had from any restaurant. The combination and flavours are unique and delicious. Local Mulloway was my main course of choice, perfectly cooked and served with a light beurre blanc, crispy pancetta and salmon caviar. Both courses were complimented by a beautiful Gros Nore' Rose from the Bandol region of France. I chose Ruby Chocolate mousse for dessert which was again unique and delicious. The chef uses native raspberries from the local market in Byron Bay to perfectly cut through the sweetness and richness of the ruby chocolate. My husband's Rhubarb Mille Feuille was and I quote 'faultless' There was no sunset that afternoon, but a dark, stormy and menacing sky was our vista, making the ocean look like an aquamarine jewel. It was nothing short of breathtaking. I nosily saw a couple nearby ordering from the 'Happy Hour' menu and I was keen to learn further details from our wonderful server Alan. So that is next on the list, Happy Hour, possibly staying for dinner to enjoy the rest of the menu. God I love this place.

We just had the most amazing lunch at Beach. The food was sublime. Oysters, octopus and fish both raw and cooked. Every bite made better by the amazing view of the bay from our table. Thanks for a fabulous experience!

My family stopped in at Beach while we were traveling through Byron Bay and were welcomed without a reservation. Everything that happened after that was a comedy of errors, but I can say with earnest that this restaurant was a highlight of our trip. Sa was our waitress and was incredibly kind to seat us and allow us to wait with some cocktails for an hour until the kitchen reopened after a private event. While we were there, we had a glitch with our night’s accommodations, and since we were traveling from abroad, we asked to use the restaurant’s phone, and when that had issues, Alan very generously let us use his personal mobile to call our villa. Most importantly, the food was delicious. We had the yellowfin tuna starter and can understand why it is a signature dish. The sirloin was perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the asparagus was also perfect - well cooked and still had the perfect snap to it. Last, the roast potatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside and still moist inside. Finally, we had an issue with the payment system which resulted in us paying another table’s bill, but Alan flagged us down in the parking lot so we could get it straightened out. Through all of this, Sa was incredibly kind, warm, and assuring, apologizing profusely for our misfortune. We left wishing we were staying longer so we could try the rest of the menu. If we make it back to Byron Bay, Beach will absolutely be at the top of our list. Cannot recommend stopping here enough for a quality meal and warm environment.

Where do we even begin. Planning a Byron wedding from Melbourne could’ve easily been stressful, but working with Belinda from day one made it an absolute breeze. She was so organised, helpful and just genuinely lovely to deal with. Nothing was ever too hard and she made the whole process feel seamless. Come wedding day, Sara took over and wow, she was incredible. Calm, collected and completely on top of everything. The day ran so smoothly and we honestly didn’t have to lift a finger. Now let’s talk about the food. The food and drinks were honestly deliciously good. From the canapés during cocktail hour right through to the mains, every single bite was a hit. So many of our guests came up to us saying it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding and they weren’t wrong. The service staff on the day were amazing too. They were all friendly, professional and so switched on. And the venue itself... WOW. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. Photos really don’t do it justice, you simply have to see it to believe it. It’s easily one of the most beautiful spots in Byron. We were lucky enough to have perfect weather, the roof was open and we danced the night away under the stars. It was such a dream. We can’t thank the Beach Byron Bay team (especially Belinda and Sara) enough for helping us pull off the best day of our lives. It will always be forever in our core memories. If you’re thinking about getting married in Byron, this place is a no-brainer..!

We decided to stay overnight in Byron Bay while visiting from Sydney and returned to our favourite restaurant. The atmosphere was excellent, and the view was absolutely stunning. Both the entrée and the main were exceptional—definitely 5 out of 5. However, when it came to dessert, I was disappointed. I ordered a mille-feuille, but unfortunately it neither looked nor tasted like a traditional mille-feuille. I truly wanted to give the entire experience a 5, as everything else was outstanding, but the dessert let the meal down. Maybe next time

Light Years in Byron Bay offers a modern Asian dining experience with a menu featuring share plates perfect for group dining. The dishes include prawn rolls, wagyu rump steak, and BBQ lamb ribs. The restaurant also serves popular cocktails like Netflix and Chill as well as new creations such as Kiwi Matcha Margi and Szechuan Sour. The venue has a vibrant atmosphere with a large terrazzo bar, cushioned booths, and terracotta tiles.
*** Highlights: Puts Sydney restaurants to shame. The experience was perfect. *** What we liked: The service was sincere, the rendang was not too heavy on the coconut cream, the firecracker chicken was not oily at all albeit a deep fried dish. The prices are very reasonable. *** Recommended? Pretentious Sydney has a lot to learn. I tipped highest amount possible.

De-lic-ous!!! Stupendous even! We’ve been eating loads of south East Asian cuisine, however this truly is remarkable. My girlfriend took me here for my birthday as we had both flown in and we are both well travelled and quite big goodies and we were pleasantly gob smacked. Firstly the yuzu cocktail is Devine, not my normal style and f cocktail as I’m a whisky girl but it still got all ✔️s from me. Then the salmon ceviche is exquisite (make sure you scoop up the sauce with each bite). The kingfish ceviche with the pawpaw salad is a heavenly match and that salad is one of the best I’ve ever had!! Yes a big claim I know!! Whatever you have here, I think you’ll looove’ like we all did. The staff were so helpful. We had my gf’s daughter with us and the staff were super accommodating for her as well. So thanks team for making all our day extra special!

My husband and I visited Moonlight in December 2024 and absolutely loved it. It’s a super cool, contemporary Japanese hibachi grill and wine bar with a real focus on sharing plates—which worked perfectly for us because we wanted to try everything! Every dish we had was super fresh, beautifully balanced, and incredibly moreish. The drinks menu is also fantastic, with some great sake and wine options that paired so well with the food. The ambiance is moody and stylish without feeling overdone, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and really on point the whole night. We did the omakase and every dish that came out was a delight - special mention to the steak and onion rings, watermelon sashimi and basque cheesecake but tbh we loved EVERYTHING!! Cocktails were also amazing. Nestled among lush palm trees opposite Belongil Beach, Treehouse Byron Bay offers a bohemian restaurant and bar experience with global cuisine, wood-fired pizzas, and live music. The venue provides a casual Mediterranean menu featuring family favorites and local brews. Guests can enjoy their meals in the tropical garden or opt for takeaways to savor on the beach.
This is a great find! It has all of the Byron appeal but without the centre of town hustle and bustle. We struggled to find a table for brunch in town so jumped in the car and headed to Treehouse. Loads of 2 hour free parking. The venue is awesome. An outside feel with cosy little nooks and sofas. The food is great. We ordered the breakfast tacos and breakfast rolls. Both were superb and not as pricey as the cafes in town. We then headed to the beach across the road for some paddling! The Only moan would be they weren’t that busy but food took about 30 minutes to come out. It was worth the wait tho!

This place has a nice seating area outdoors, surrounded by trees as per the name Fish tacos was the best thing we got, was actually delicious. $20 pizzas for lunch was a good deal, there was $20 pastas as well. The treehouse bowl looked great but lacked any real flavour, would’ve been a lot better with some balsamic or lemon zest. We got marinated chicken extra but it was a relatively small portion and didn’t add too much flavour or protein. The burger was pretty average Overall decent place for food

I wish we had more time to dine in cause damn just seeing this place on pickup was unreal while place almost felt like a fever dream haha So anyway we ordered take away 2x pepperoni 2x margarita and 1 kids margarita, my daughter absolutely lost it when she seen it was shaped like Mickey Mouse best thing she’s ever seen, and probably the first time she’s ate a full pizza! My pepperoni was an absolute 10/10 unreal flavours soft and crunchy every bite had flavour, the slight kick from the pepperoni was unexpected but an awesome twist to a standard pep. The margarita was perfect also, not over complicated not trying to be anything more than what it is,great flavours! Wish we had more time I would be back again

On a whim headed down to The Treehouse for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised with the eclectic atmosphere, it’s an amazing place for a restaurant. The food was great and the staff were friendly. I would certainly recommend The Treehouse

It was Sunday. There was live music. We sat around a big long table with 5 dogs. Amazing restaurants with friendly staff. Next to the beach ⛱️ but not so busy area. Dishes were also delicious.

Honestly, nice place, just way out of my price range. I expected to be able to duck over and have a beer after working on a truck nearby and seeing how lively the joint was. Cheapest beer is $12 for a bottle of corona. And I expected more from a $27 cocktail too, presented nicely, but its 80% ice. Still, food looks great, and the drink was tasty despite being so small

The Space! chill house dance music vibes with an incredible atmosphere. The venue smells like fresh p wood fired pizza. My partner and I got the Grass Fed Beef Burger with Fries and it was delicious. There was a lot of bun but the bun was also amazing and the fries where crip and special mention to the garlic aioli.

Restaurant
Bang Bang Byron Bay is a trendy and intimate restaurant with a garden vibe, offering an eclectic menu of Thai fusion dishes and inventive drinks. The menu features classics like pad thai, Bangkok fried rice, and massaman curry, as well as smaller tapas-style dishes for sharing. The restaurant also offers an inventive cocktail menu with Asian-inspired themes. The ambiance is described as a refreshing sanctuary with dim lighting, and the service is praised for being attentive without being overbearing.
We had such a great time at Bang Bang in Byron Bay! The atmosphere is super fun and energetic, with amazing vibes all around. The staff were so lovely and the service was on point the whole night. The food was SO delicious! Everything is designed to be shared. We were honestly surprised at how generous the portions were—everything just kept coming! We’re big eaters and even we couldn’t finish it all. Had to take a doggie bag home, which says a lot. Really great value for money, especially considering how tasty everything was. The wine list is solid, but the cocktails are where it’s at—so many fun and creative options. If you’re visiting Byron and looking for a great place to eat, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out. Such a good time! Note: We dined here December 2024

Last night we went to Bang Bang for my friend’s birthday and it was fantastic. Our waiter Douglas made our night so special. He was the best! The food was delicious. We had popcorn chicken, the Roti and prawn toast for entree and it was to die for! Best I’ve ever eaten and really filling. For mains we shared Pad Thai and a chicken curry and they were both so good. I had the Kokomo cocktail which was yummy and my friend had a special cocktail which they bought out with a sparkler for her birthday. We sat in a booth and the ambience was brilliant. Can’t recommend highly enough. We did book months in advance as it’s hard to get in but if you are going to Bryon please check it out.

I had dinner here during my holiday and truly enjoyed the fish. The flavor was fantastic, with a pleasant spiciness that came not only from mild chilies but also from ingredients like pepper, onion, garlic, and shallots. Even with only a small amount of chili, the balance of flavors was excellent. The chef prepared the fish perfectly—crispy on the outside and still juicy inside. Just 30–60 seconds longer and it would have been dry, but this was spot on. However, we did encounter an issue, as we found a very long hair in the sauce, which seemed to be an accidental oversight in the kitchen. Despite this, I still give a high rating because of the chef’s skill in creating such a beautiful dish. I hope the restaurant takes more care in the future, as I would love to return and enjoy the food again without this problem. The service was also outstanding—our waitress provided fine-dining level service, with excellent English, great knowledge, and a genuinely warm attitude.

absolutely delicious food. 😍 our lovely waitress sarah (from portugal 🇵🇹) recommended a few dishes and they were all top notch. we had the sashimi and roti as a starter and pad thai, beef massaman curry and the bbq trout - perfect to share for 3 people. the absolute highlight was the dessert - banana and chocolate spring rolls. would recommend to anyone visiting byron bay 🙃

Absolutely amazing food. We had the sashimi for starter and was blown away. The beef brisket was so tender and fell apart gracefully as soon as the fork touched. The curry had a very aromatic flavour. Highly recommend!

Bang Bang Byron Bay brings a mouth watering punch of flavors. My wife and I had the dinner for 2 (small option) and it was almost too much for us. We are 5'1" and 5'6" so keep that in mind. Every plate was just right and outstanding. The king fish sashimi has a nice fresh flavor and reminded me of ceviche. The Korean Popcorn chicken was crunchy and flavorful. The sticky pork belly was soft and sweet. The smashed sesame cucumber was fresh and crispy. The braised beef massaman with Jasmine was remarkable with the chocolate smooth flavor and white rice to add a nice blend. This restaurant is a five star must for any local and any visitor. If you must wait in line please do have a drink elsewhere while you wait, it is worth the wait. 5 star quality service.

11/05/2025 Had a great meal here. Ordered the bug buns to start which were super tasty. For mains we had the beef rib, bbq barramundi and the mixed vegetables. All food was delicious but the beef came out first for the mains and it took a while for the fish to come which was disappointing.

Food & Drink
Located in Byron Bay, Lord Byron Distillery is a family-owned business that has been passed down through generations since 1897. Brian and Helen Restall, the current owners, are dedicated to preserving tradition and crafting artisanal drinks such as rum, gin, vodka, and limoncello.
A must visit experience! For just $25, we got an awesome tour, a fancy gin and tonic to sip while learning the ropes, and a tasting of three incredible rums. The guide was super engaging, breaking down the distillation process and sharing the distillery’s backstory in a fun and easy way. The rums? Absolute winners—each unique, smooth, and packed with flavor. Even if you’re not a rum fan, you’ll leave as one! Great drinks, good vibes, and excellent value. Don’t miss it!
Lukas B — Google review
My husband, our daughter and myself came here for some tastings. The ingredients and how the various drinks were made was explained to us. It was great that it was wheelchair accessible for our daughter. My husband tried three pure rums. He liked them but too strong for me! My daughter tried the Limoncello but it was too strong for her so my husband finished that one off. He really liked it. I had three mixed drinks - 1. Hinterland Gin with grapefruit and lemon Myrtle; 2. Silver cane rum with cola and lime; 3. Kokomo (white rum) with pineapple juice. They were all really nice. My daughter finished the Kokomo and loved it.

Oh my goodness! The absolute best ever Pina Colada I’ve ever had! My friend and I have been here three days in a row, just to get another! Highly recommend! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their craft. Whenever we come to Byron, we’ll be back!
Margot Y — Google review
Tye and Alex are the best. We walked in late this afternoon with no booking and no idea what Lord Byron Distillery had to offer. My wife was able to jump in on a distillery tour and tasting with no problems at all (I had to watch to kids) while I tasted a paddle of three selections. Alex was amazing with his flavour knowledge and after a short bit of banter about what I liked he poured me the perfect tasting paddle. My wife loved the tour, learnt a lot about rum, cane spirit and all the other goodies on offer. Then was blown away by the tasting. All of this for $50 ($25 for my paddle $25 for the tour and tasting) This was hands down the best hospitality we experienced in the Byron Shire during our stay. The guys were accommodating, knowledgeable, charismatic and honestly the best interaction we had all holiday. We walked away with a couple of bottles of the best spirits I have tasted in a long time. Hats off Gents!

We had the best time at Lord Byron distillery. The gin making class was such a unique experience - fun and educational. The pina colada is a must!
Mia M — Google review
Did a cocktail class with Ty today and it was above and beyond any and all expectations. Absolutely amazing experience and a must do when visiting Byron!
Isabella P — Google review
If you are looking for an authentic distilling experience, where you choose your own botanicals to make your own 500ml Gin to take home - do this! Located in a small but super cute and clean venue, the class is run by Alex, who is friendly and knowledgeable. He is either behind the bar, creating drinks or doing a master-class. The tour is perfect for singles, couples, or a group of four. A tour of the nearby family owned and operated distillery meeting Chris was insightful and fun. We appreciated their time and answers to lots of questions. The class is two hours and starts off with a beverage and takes you through the process. You can also simply visit for a drink, tasting and/or, to buy products. Essentially, the Lord Nelson distils Rum. At the end of our class, we enjoyed a couple of drinks. There is indoor and outdoor seating and a unisex clean toilet. I can highly recommend the Pina Colada - served in a fresh pineapple with the special ingredient being coconut butter - it literally was the best I've ever had.

Cape Byron Lighthouse, completed in 1901, is a working lighthouse that offers stunning views of the bay and houses a maritime museum. Located in Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia, this coastal town is renowned for its natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere. It attracts visitors with pristine beaches, lush hinterland, and a thriving creative community.
$10 for a vehicle entry was very worth it! Toilets on sites down some stairs including PWD toilet. The view was stunning! No wait to enter or need to purchase tickets in advance. They offered eftpos to pay!
Alex Q — Google review
The view was amazing however even at 545am on a Sunday morning there is very little parking so if you are not one of the 10 people to get a spot (there were about 100 people there) expect a $140 parking fine from the Byron Bay council. What kind of person sets an alarm to go and ticket cars in an area they are trying to promote visitors? Really put a dampener on a weekend health retreat trying to reduce stress and its $140 not being spent at the local businesses.
Ben R — Google review
The loop walk to the Lighthouse is absolutely stunning. Inside you can find lots of interesting information in the free/donation based Museum. In front of the lighthouse is a thing where you can screw your camera on to get some photos in the light house or sea direction. Great for solo travelers!

Would 10/10 recommend the walk from town to the lighthouse, it’s so beautiful and maybe the only other thing you can do in Byron bay other than the beach. The lighthouse itself has a little history section on the inside which I would recommend taking the time to read, it’s really interesting and you get to here some fun stories

We visited the Byron Bay Lighthouse, also known as the Cape Byron Lighthouse, on a sunny afternoon and were blown away by the stunning views. The lighthouse is located on the easternmost point of mainland Australia, and the scenery is simply breathtaking. Make sure you visit the museum too. *Highlights:* - *Panoramic Views:* The lookout offers spectacular 360-degree views of the coastline, ocean, and surrounding landscape. On a clear day, you can see the Gold Coast skyscrapers in the distance. - *Whale Watching:* During whale migration season (June to November), the lookout is a great spot to spot humpback whales. - *Sunset:* The lookout is perfect for watching the sunset, with the golden light casting a warm glow over the ocean. If you are lucky you can spot BOTTLENECK DOLPHINS too. *Experience:* The drive to the lighthouse is scenic, winding through beautiful coastal forest. The lookout area is well-maintained and offers plenty of space to take in the views. We spent hours here, taking photos, watching the surfers, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. *Tips:* - *Arrive Early:* Get there early to secure parking and avoid the crowds. - *Bring Sun Protection:* Wear sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun. - *Respect the Environment:* Take care to respect the natural environment and Aboriginal cultural heritage. *Rating Breakdown:* - *Scenic Views:* 5/5 - *Facilities:* 4/5 - *Accessibility:* 4/5 - *Overall Experience:* 4.5/5 *Recommendation:* The Byron Bay Lighthouse is a must-visit attraction for anyone traveling to the Byron Bay area. The views are simply stunning, and the experience is unforgettable. Be sure to arrive early, bring sun protection, and respect the environment.

A must-visit gem in Byron Bay. This stunning spot offers breathtaking views, rich history and a chance to connect with nature in a truly special way. From the lighthouse, panoramic views stretch across the Pacific Ocean, Byron Bay, and the surrounding coastline - perfect for sunrise or sunset. ❤️

Nice views. While visiting relatives in Australia we took a trip to Port Macquarie and stopped here along the way. Parking can be a bit tough as you may get all the way to the top just to find out there are no more spots. If you're up for the walk, you can park in town and take the hike up to the light house.

The Beach Hotel in Byron Bay is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Situated across the road from Main Beach, it offers a prime location to enjoy cold drinks and delicious food in its beer garden with bay views. Owned by John Strop Cornell, this iconic Aussie watering hole serves up classic pub fare as well as more exotic dishes like poke bowls and harissa roasted cauliflower. On Sunday afternoons, visitors can enjoy live music and a roast dinner.
I came here on my first night, and it was the only lively bar/restaurant by the beach. It wasn’t peak season, so the area was fairly quiet. There was live music, and they were playing country — our favourite — so we absolutely loved it.

I highly recommend avoiding the calamari, you can’t even taste calamari. It’s just extremely thin batter deep-fried. The beer selection in the staff are extremely friendly and I do recommend visiting, the schnitzel is nice although it’s very high price, understandable though for his location. It’s right along the beach and a fantastic spot for groups to hang out for several hours for lunch, with Entertainment being played at night time. Although the food was bad, I would definitely come back

Great location and atmosphere. Menu was a little lacking when it came to share options, but the food we had was good. Staff were friendly, albeit a little forgetful, but still lovely. Overall we had a nice casual lunch here.

Great location and venue and they seem to always have a band on or setting up. The staff are super friendly, including the security. They don't take bookings, walk ins only. Food.... We ordered entres and mains, the entres came out after the main meals so it seemed like a waste of money. The flat bread entre was ok, I feel like it could be plated better to avoid soggy bread and may look more appealing. They have a yum gluten free pizza base option and they can cook a steak well. The burger was good, chips were super salty but I hid that with dipping into the yummy mushroom sauce. I guess, if I was to go back again, I would order the entres and do a separate order for mains. We paid $170 for 4 mains and 2 entres.

One of the young ladie staff was rude, not a friendly type at all when asked about the food I received but other than that was nice. Zattar flat bread with three dips and I got this and only two dips. Bread was nice but not what I expected

Cool place in Byron, right next to the beach and full of people always. I went there for the pokies which are surprisingly very small. The food was delicious tried their Za something Bread which was absolutely smashingly delicious. I’ve never seen it elsewhere. Good place to catch up with mates and family. They got live music and big screen in sports bar.

The place is beautiful with a sea view, plenty of tables and seating areas. It opens at 11 a.m. and on weekends it stays open until midnight. The best part is the vibe. The only odd thing is that you have to order at the counter with your table number. I ordered the chicken parmi—it wasn’t as tasty as I expected, a bit bland and lacking in salt. I’d rate it 7 out of 10. The price was also quite high.

Great place to have some drinks and watch some footy. Beachfront location is definitely a winner. We came here every night during our 3 nights stay in Byron Bay. Love the live music. Beach Hotel Resort in Byron Bay offers comfortable suites with kitchenettes, an outdoor pool, and a bar/restaurant. The resort is centrally located, just a short walk from Main Beach and close to Arakwal National Park. Guests can enjoy stunning sunsets at The Wreck and take in the view of Mount Warning in the distance. The festive atmosphere draws both locals and visitors each evening.
Phone booking was very easy and pleasant with advice on which street to enter for free parking under the hotel. Phoned back and asked if there was a microwave in the room? There is not, but was advised they could put one in for us. On arrival we were told the microwave is in the room. Usually you have to ask again for the microwave, so was great. Showed to me the staff were on the ball. The receptionist again was extremely pleasant and helpful. The luggage carrier was big and the receptionist even came with us to our room. The resort has recently been sold, so no doubt renovations will occur. The shower is excellent and the bathroom great. The lounge and bed are comfortable and the tv can be turned to see it from the bed. TV options are great with Foxtel available for free. The room overlooks the pool and the balance is great with views of the waves though not the beach. It's winter so not going into the pool but from reports is excellent. I chose this hotel for its wonderful position... Easy walk to the beach and up to the Lighthouse. In Byron Shire meters are everywhere, so staying here means walking is easy to the beaches I want to go to and the famous town centre is at our doorstep, along with the Information Centre. The kitchenette is adequate with the bar fridge actually was enough for all the food we are travelling with. We dined at the hotel next door and the food was delicious and tasty. The staff there, including the helpful bouncer, were so accommodating and lovely. There was no noise whatsoever from the hotel, even though a band was playing when we were there and I am a light sleeper. Thank you. We are enjoying our stay. Your staff are a credit to you.

I love recommending places to eat but this isn’t one of them. Both the food we received, as well as our drinks, did not meet basic standards. Yes, the service was good, however the entrees and mojitos we ordered were deeply disappointing. It seems that as a customer you’re simply paying for the rent and the views. Locals obviously do not dine here and now we know why.

If God had an address, this would be it. … 😇🥰😇🥰😇😇🥰My father was the king of hospitality the first one ever awarded and 3 more times. I was the tourism ambassador for the Gold Coast. I’ve looked after the king of Dubai George Clooney Mel Gibson Dolph London taking them to the most wonderful places while they’re in our country but this was my secret place and I’m now sharing it with you…, and I’ve inherited that passion. When I first arrived at this extraordinary place during my battle with breast cancer, I was uncertain about my future. But despite the relentless recurrence of the disease, I found my refuge here—an oasis of healing that feels almost divine. This isn’t just any destination; it’s a sacred space where beauty and tranquility converge. I truly believe that God has an address, and it resides here. The enchanting landscape, the gentle lighting, and the genuinely kind staff create an atmosphere that is nothing short of transformative. The experience is life-changing, and while it feels almost too precious to share, I want others to discover this magic for themselves. Having traveled extensively and coming from a renowned hospitality family on the Gold Coast, I’ve encountered remarkable food and accommodations. Yet, this place transcends all expectations. It offers not just luxury, but a profound sense of healing and connection. I first visited two years ago while battling cancer, and it has become my sanctuary. The sheer beauty of this location instills a desire to embrace life, making healing feel possible. Byron Bay is not just a destination; it’s a lasting imprint on the soul. My time studying and living in France was once my pinnacle experience, but this place has redefined what I hold dear. It’s my everything—my number one. If you seek an experience that will resonate within you forever, look no further. This is where you need to be.

This place is AMAZING! Tucked in a cute area, it has some of the most incredible pastries. We had the ham & cheese and veggie croissant (super good, and I'm a french picky eater so trust me!). The lemon cake was great too. My favorite was their blueberry muffin. Haven't tried their chocolate croissant but if you do, let me know! Staff is super friendly as well. We will definitely come back here! (#ProTip: Doesn't have a ton of space for a sit down breakfast, although people sat on the lawn outside so it works!) #Update: I had to come back and add more information. I tried there burger today (beek, fish and shrimp) and they are just excellent. This place is a #MUST. Owner is french and surprised us by talking to my mom in French. Just incredible service and great food. I've been here 5 days, and I must have come here at least 4 times!!!

We had a delicious breakfast at Top Shop today. The berry chocolate muffin was basically to die for! The açaí bowls were terrific. The service and atmosphere were also very nice. Highly recommend.

Cosy little coffee shop that’s perfect for a stop if you’re in the area – you can even sit out on the grass! The menu has a great mix of breakfast and lunch options. Portions are generous, especially the fries which are perfect for sharing. I had the American Burger and my partner had the Steak Roll – both were absolutely delicious.

Super chilled and great value. We had the breaky burgers and they were amazing, super tasty and non-greasy and packed with yummy filling & hash brown. Friendly service and down to earth vibes 😀

Outdoor Activities
Wategos Beach is a picturesque and sheltered sandy beach in Byron Bay, popular for activities like surfing, swimming, paddle boarding, and picnicking. It's a 600-meter curved stretch of sand that's favored by families and backpackers due to its calm waters. The beach is accessible via one of the Byron Bay walking tracks from Cape Byron and offers a quieter atmosphere compared to the nearby lighthouse.
Lovely spot! Wasn't too busy when we were here. Great setup for a quick bbq and swim. It has a beautiful scenic walk to the light tower, which is perfect during whale watching season!
Zurika B — Google review
Beautiful beach here. But it gets really busy here on the holidays. Not many parking spaces here and it will cost you $5 an hour. Get here early for a good spot on the beach. There is a walking path leading up to the lighthouse but it isn't wheelchair friendly. There are toilets close by as well as a cafe. Highly recommend going to have a look 🙂.
Ruth M — Google review
Outstanding beach. Smaller waves that others but a great location for beginners. Small beach area compared to other beaches but still plenty of room to lay down in the sun. The area has showers and BBQ set up near the bathrooms.
Bruno A — Google review
Although publicly accessible, Its like a private beach. Let's maintain the sanity and not make it like a public beach. It will ruin the peace of locals. I visited as it was highly rated but next time will avoid

What a beautiful little spot. I wish I could have stayed for a week just there.
Adelyn C — Google review
A quiet not so busy beach. Big enough for surfers to dominate the waves areas, kids and families to enjoy another. Super clean beach, gorgeous nearly white sands and has lifeguard duty near the beach restaurant.
Bushra K — Google review
Most stunning and beautiful beach in whole Byron🩵(and probably world) Good longboard waves🏄🏼‍♀️
Sharleen R — Google review
I really like this beach. It's not very big, but it's beautiful. I love walking along the beach during low tide and seeing the rocks that appear. The available restrooms and BBQ area are very convenient. Parking can be challenging, so I recommend coming by bike. Another perk is the short distance to the lighthouse, making the beach even more appealing. Definitely one of my favorite beaches in Byron Bay! Be careful with your belongings when you go swimming. There are many turkeys that love to open bags to find food.

Flea & Street Markets
The Byron Farmers Market, held every Thursday morning at the Butler St Reserve, offers a wide array of local delicacies including organic sourdough breads, farm cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts from the Nimbin Valley and more. The market is not only a place to shop for high-quality produce but also serves as a social event with locals gathering as early as 6:30am. However, due to high stall rents, prices can be on the higher side.
Okay - you have to come early on Thursday morning by 7am - eat breakfast from the stalls, buy brilliant local produce including cheeses, meats, seafood and honeys. There is live music to listen to on beanbags if you feel chilled. Easy to walk of cycle to. Everything is priced at a premium however you can be assured of supporting local farmers. Maybe buy enough to cook one fabulous meal if you are on a budget. My favourite are the heirloom Coopers Shoot tomatoes and Dorper Lamb. I tried a sample of the hemp oil and it was quite relaxing. Kool the Byron hula hoop busker is always here to brighten your morning. It is worth it and an authentic local experience.

A nice lady on the street told us about the market. We didn’t know what to do and were just wandering around. Thanks to her, we didn’t miss this amazing market. I loved the vibrant atmosphere and the hippie vibe. The food was amazing — we had a burger and dumplings. People were so nice and friendly. I’m happy we got to visit this market on our last day in Byron Bay.

The hotel's refurbished gastro pub offers a spacious beer garden and outdoor playground for kids, making it an ideal spot for families to enjoy wood-fired pizzas and live music.
This is such an awesome place to have lunch. We drove all the way from the Gold Coast and it was well worth the effort. There was 15 of us and we road the Byron Solar Train then finished with lunch at the North Byron Hotel. The meals were amazing and everyone enjoyed what we ordered. The staff, waiters, chef and his team were fantastic. When in Byron I would recommend the North Byron Hotel to everyone.

We recently celebrated our wedding here on 1 November 2025 with 50 of our closest family and friends, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. From the very beginning, communication and organisation were exceptional — everything ran so smoothly thanks to the incredible team. A special mention to Clara, who went above and beyond in helping us plan and bring everything together with ease. On the day, the atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, exactly what we hoped for, and we had so many compliments from our guests about how effortless and welcoming it all felt. The food was absolutely outstanding — our compliments to the chefs working behind the scenes who delivered such amazing dishes that everyone is still talking about! Thank you for making our day so memorable — we couldn’t have asked for a better venue, team, or experience. — Deb & Danielle 🤍

What a fabulous place! We came here as part of the Solar Train Ride in Style option which included a meal. We bumped into someone from a tour who came to the same pub by horse. My Parma was huuuuge and my friend enjoyed her burger. We also ordered a dessert which was also delicious and decadent! Great way to spend an afternoon

We were told of this super venue in Byron Bay so thought we should check it out. It was FABULOUS. The setting is gorgeous, the food was spectacular and the beers were icy cold. The staff were friendly and the General Manager Jed- what a champion bloke. He took time to come and say hi and chat to us about the menu- he is also Head Chef. We will be back- to try more of the delicious food- we had the calamari, the prawns and the twice cooked potato with chorizo and the freshest Caesar salad I have ever eater. This place rocks!!!!! Worth a drive for lunch and such a good vibe. We loved it!!!!!!

The reserve holds cultural significance to the local Arakwal people, with Dreamtime stories associated with the area.
Wow! What an amazing place to snorkel and see so many fish, sharks and coral. Felt very safe too. I’d recommend Wild Byron from Brunswick Heads, they will take good care of you!

This place is great to snorkel and dive at, just 3 km off the shore from Byron Bay. You see amazing beautiful creatures all year round. Manta Ray, Leopard Sharks and in the summer. Nurse sharks, and humpback whales in the winter, as well as the occasional different species of sharks cruising through. The best dive site I’ve been to!

We took a boat there and saw two dolphins on the way there...then we went to watch humpback whales breaching (thanks Byron Bay Dive Centre for the personal whale watching session). At the snorkeling spot we saw: Grey nursing sharks, Wobbegong shark (wobble), sea turtle, sting ray and eagle ray, octopus & eel + dory and plenty of other fish 🐠 🐟 We were there in the afternoon - 2pm

Cape Byron Walking Track is a 3.7 km loop that takes about 2 hours to complete, offering stunning ocean views, a historic lighthouse, and opportunities to spot wildlife such as dolphins and whales during their migration season from May and August through October. The track passes through coastal rainforest, along cliffs, and provides panoramic coastal views.
Fantastic walk and the views at sunrise do not disappoint! Just make sure you park in a designated parking spot as even before 7am, there was a parking ranger there slapping tickets on cars parked illegally... also, there's a sign that says "most eastern point of mainland Australia, but you can keep walking down on the track to get to and what feels like more of an eastern platform. Overall great morning walk. Lots of steps going up and down so if you're not great with them stick with the footpath of road leading up to the lighthouse only.
Andrew J — Google review
This walking track is a wonderful experience for nature lover. If you are visiting during July - November you can enjoy seeing whales and dolphins from the view points there. The place is clean and have drinking water facilities and washrooms too. You can reach the most easterly point of Australia mainland from the walking track. View of the ocean is amazing. I had a wonderful time there, watching waves and listening to bird songs..❤️
Shamali R — Google review
Just beautiful. The loop is 3,6km or 4,2 if you do the last little bit in trail. Obviously touristy, but we did in winter with good weather and not many people were there. Just at the lighthouse was a bit more, but still extremely enjoyable. Definitely worth it. We spotted many whales and dolphins
Nerea H — Google review
Sensational. Absolutely sensational. Oh… it was a bloody challenge and not for those with knee or back issues but it was a GREAT walk! Dragged 4 kids along who managed the walk we did from ‘The Pass’ to the lighthouse and back. Many steps. Steep gradients. Lots of chairs and rest stop areas along the way. Very glad we did it if only this section. Saw lizards, koalas, and whales!!!!!!!!
Corrie B — Google review
We walked the Cape Byron Walking track circuit, starting at the Palm Valley carpark. The track up to the most easterly point and the lighthouse hugs the coastline. The track is fully paved and concreted up to the Lighthouse, with steps and some steep inclines. There are many places to stop and catch your breath if needed. We experienced incredible views and we lost count of the amount of whales frolicking in the waters, near and a far. There is a small cafe at the top and toilets as well. On the way back we continued on to the Tallow Ridge track. This track is not paved and whilst the views are not out to the ocean, the rainforest is beautiful to walk through. There are stairs, as well as flat bush tracks. This part of the track could be a little slippery in the wet. A much quieter track and a beautiful walk. The Tallow Ridge track may be a little hard for smaller children due to the steepness of some of the stair heights.
Helen F — Google review
We enjoyed the Cape Byron Walking Track. The views were stunning, and the path was well-kept and easy to follow. I stopped at a few lookouts and just soaked it all in. A great spot for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some amazing ocean scenery.
A A — Google review
A beautiful sea view walk. Make sure you look out for the dolphins or whales that I believe swim around the bays. I saw some cool wildlife and the views from the lighthouse are beautiful. It’s a bit of a difficult walk and contains some steep stairs but worth it if you can manage.
Anya — Google review
For those new to the area, pay no attention to the "Open/Closed" indicator within Google Maps for this location!! It's simply a very nice and well maintained coastal track with great views and without entrance gates -- so it's always open! It even has a very nice (unexpected) cafe along the track called "The Pass Cafe"!

Over the past decade, I’ve visited Byron every year, and with each trip I’ve tried to discover a new breakfast spot. This year’s find was Bayleaf. I know it’s been around for a while—maybe that’s exactly why I never tried it sooner! The food is wonderful, and I really love the curated menu. I’ve had the chance to taste both their winter and summer dishes, and each one was a delight. The staff is equally lovely, and if you go, don’t miss the matcha cloud—absolutely delicious.

Perfect 5 star experience. Coffee was 10/10. Servers were very attentive and friendly. And the food came so fast it felt as though I had only just finished the order as it had arrived! Nestled in Bay Lane, just behind the Beach Hotel, The Cyprus Tree is a long-standing culinary gem in Byron Bay. This classic restaurant offers a Mediterranean journey with its delectable specialties like moussaka, klefthico, and octopus. The diverse seafood menu is a standout feature, and the two-person mezzare platters provide an excellent overview of their offerings. Cannot recommend this place enough. Staff were very nice and friendly. Very knowledgeable of the dishes and talkative. Food itself was very tasty and came out quick. The pitta and dips were bursting with flavour and just as we finished the mains came out promptly. The Halloumi stack was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and came out very hot. Partner said it was just like being in Greece and offended the staff when she said she didn’t like Feta cheese haha.

Don't let the photos fool you the amount of food we got for what we paid was minimal but if youre willing to pay upwards of $160 for a minimal amount that's fine. Besides the small portions the taste was good. The best thing was the espresso martini tbh. Atmosphere was ok one waiter was yelling at us like we were hard of hearing but that's fine guess she couldn't hear herself over the noise. The artwork was nice inside

We had warm Turkish bread with creamy taramasalada, I enjoyed this & the saganaki was a bit too thin so hardend up pretty quick and we tried the zucchini & haloumi fritters. The Meat Platter was priced for 2pp at $46.5 pp being $93. but I would say it was more for 1 person so rather overpriced for the serving size and the Cyprus Seafood Mix - was average!

Edit: one of the owners, the lad who responded below, reached out and the concern and customer service after was excellent. They clearly care and were concerned about my experience. I feel perhaps they had a bad day, as we all do from time to time. I'll give it another go. This burger cost me $22 Quite possibly the driest I've ever had. Meant to have chipotle aioli, however you can see, or not see, how much they put on. Meat patties were like hockey pucks. Over cooked and definitely not made here. Service was average. I think they have a new lad on though. Didn't get asked if we wanted drinks so I sorted that out at the front, then at the bar, only to be told it's table service... I'm not sure what was going on there. The kids burgers, for $12 were the same. Dry and awful. Neither kid wanted to finish theirs. The kids said the chips were good. I don't review chips as it's like reviewing McCain frozen fries. In saying that, I feel like I've just reviewed a frozen meat patty Definitely will not be returning $95 for 1 adult and two kids

Unfortunately we thought the food was pretty average! Classic beef burger tasted very cheap, something you’d buy at a fairground. Halloumi burger was better, but wasn’t full of flavour. Burger buns were average. At least the chips were good! Spent $50+ and was unsatisfied. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is great.

Ordered the Nashville burger that would not stay in the bun. The maple wings were in a watery sauce. Kids meal. Wow, $13 for a small burger no fries. Add fries and comes to $19. Cold beer was the winner here. Must add - service was good.

Combi Byron Bay is a popular breakfast spot with a central location and a small but enticing menu. The highlight is their epic acai and smoothie bowls, particularly the Organic Chia Party. In addition to staples like avo on toast and toasted sandwiches, they offer unique items such as the Sweet Sprouted Bread. This vegan-friendly eatery also serves delectable raw vegan caramel slices and other plant-based dishes.
We really love the menu here and we think that the staff are terrific we really appreciate the effort they put into their food it looks great and it tastes delicious and we're all very happy to return

Very busy cafe and we were lucky to get a seat last minute. You can order from the tables but this finishes at 1:15pm I think it was, so it wouldn’t let us order. We had to then go up to the counter. Buckwheat pancakes were pretty good. Husband loved the flavours of the mushroom toast. We didn’t order drinks as we’d already had a coffee. Good selection of vegan options. Love that it’s organic

Such a cute cafe. We had the mushroom on toast & acai bowl. Food tastes quite good but nothing special just like any other breakfast cafe. The menu is quite pricey, $30 for eggs benedict with ham but I guess that’s the standard price in Byron Bay. We also had their smoothies, shine on me, it tastes refreshing.

We went for coffee with my friends and, honestly, we were a bit disappointed. The coffees took almost 20 minutes to arrive, and the taste wasn’t very pleasant. I ordered a sweet muffin and the banana flavor was terrible. One of the waitresses wasn’t very friendly when we asked why the coffees were taking so long. I hope you can take the feedback into account to improve some aspects of the service :)

I'm not a crumpet expert but mine were a bit harsh to eat :( not fluffy or soft at all. I wouldn't recommend eating them to anyone, sorry about it! The atmosphere was nice and I could read my book there for a while without being bothered (it wasn't busy).

The winter porridge was absolutely divine! The adaptogenic hot choc was delicious and perfect with a shot of decaf. All food was displayed beautifully and tasted incredible. The staff were kind, professional and welcoming. The heaters on for winter was a lovely touch. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

A leisurely dining vibe. OMG…. The sourdough is super perfect…It seared with chili oil, releasing irresistible aroma. It is the best sourdough I have had in this trip!

Service was far too slow. The waitress forgot our order and brought a simple dish out last. They also add a 10% weekend surcharge, which is ridiculous considering weekends are when cafés and restaurants are busiest. Ultimately, the breakfast was way too expensive for what we got. It honestly felt like we’d gone out for dinner rather than breakfast, given how much we spent.

Nestled beside a vibrant rainforest oasis, Forest Byron Bay is a contemporary Australian dining gem that truly embodies the spirit of sustainability. This remarkable restaurant prioritizes local ingredients, sourcing over 80% from within a three-hour radius, ensuring an authentic taste of the region's rich culinary offerings. The atmosphere is both social and approachable, making it perfect for those looking to enjoy an immersive dining experience in a stunning natural setting.
Food was outstanding, excellent, but the wait staff need to be more attentive and knowledgeable; they should certainly be able to explain the ingredients. Having said that we would definitely recommend the food, - the vegetable salad with poached egg, the octopus and sausage skewer, the rice pudding were particularly good. Thank you

Went here for what thought would be a nice treat for breakfast and ordered the forest eggs, medium firm. First the menu clearly says mushroom HASH but there was no hash to be seen just some slightly wet, grilled mushrooms.. and the eggs were extremely runny.. I’m a new mum with a baby who was needing attention so I didn’t even bother complaining. Just paid over $30 (once you pay Sunday surcharge and gst) for a few soggy mushrooms, peas and undercooked eggs. Never again! This should not happen at a place that is considered high end. Very disappointed as we don’t get to go out much anymore.

Hands down the best place we have ever eaten. Service was outstanding food was absolutely Devine. We had a variety of seafoods, all of which was so fresh. We also ordered the duck, which was so tender. Could really tell the freshness of all dishes. Thank you crystal brook for an incredible experience, being massive foodies to say this was the best food we had ever experience is huge! We will be back, could not recommend this place any more! Overall, a wonderful experience with a beautiful ambience and a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was enjoyable, though fairly simple. The bacon side dish was over generous in portion and could have been presented with a bit more care — it felt a little rushed compared to the rest of the meal. The toast also arrived without butter, but that was quickly sorted when I asked. Despite these small details, everything else was excellent and I’d happily return. I cannot fault the serving staff - excellent.

High-quality food and warm services! Each dish is unique and well combined with local vegetables. The sauce is also unique. Had dinner and breakfast here with my family and made our trip even sweeter.

If you get the chance, try the chef’s choice degustation menu! My husband and I were blown away by the chef’s expertise and the personal touches to the food. My goodness what a wonderful place. I visited here twice in my time in Byron. Perfect for anyone who’s vegan or gluten and even better if you’re both! Incredibly tasty food, even one of my friends who is a massive meat eater enjoyed himself and orders dessert as well. One of the best mojitos I’ve had also, such a lovely atmosphere. The host was so welcoming. High recommend!

I loved my humble burger and fries, but thought that the nourish bowl (aside from the Pattie) was a little too plain. The drinks are quite nice and the ambience is good to. It is a little pricey for the amount of food that you get (I think the burger is decent value, but the bowl was not). Overall it's a 5 for the burger and 3 for the bowl.

This is a must visit when coming to Byron. A vegan restaurant with extra tasty food. Everything we had was amazing. As for the drinks, botanical beers, plenty of cocktails and mocktails, everything was superb. And for the ambiance, I can't even describe the atmosphere there. Full of wood and beautiful carpentry, you will feel like you are visiting a restaurant in a fairy tale. It is a unique and exquisite visit, but definitely worth it. Be sure to book especially if you are in a larger group as the place has few sitting spots. They do takeaways, but dining in is an important part of the experience here.

I LOVE this place. Only wished I came here and knew about it at the beginning of our Byron trip. I would’ve come more often. From the minute we walked in... the service was just amazing. First time being there she went through the menu and gave us suggestions for the popular dishes. The menu had so much variety and this included the food as well as the drinks with all their botanical beers, housemade sodas and elixirs. We ordered the smoked tea mushrooms and raw kimchi dumplings for starters. And the hemp burger and jackfruit lettuce wraps for mains. We were definitely not disappointed and enjoyed every bit of it. I came to a point I was so full but had to finish the dish. The decor itself is magical and quirky. It felt like you were in an enchanted forest.. from the furniture to the greenery like it was built by fairies. I absolutely loved it and the elixirs been served on the menu really just complimented the decor. The girls working there are so amazing and so friendly and attentive. Will definitely visit again when we come back to Byron.

That was just bloody delicious. The moctails were not too sweet. The burger was well textured and the seasoning was just right, even on the fries. The paleo bread was perfect and not too heavy. I just loved it. To boot, the fit out is adorable and on theme. Loved it

Nestled in the heart of Byron Bay, No Bones is a vibrant plant-based eatery that champions the idea that ethical food can be incredibly delicious. With a focus on organic and locally sourced ingredients, this culinary gem serves up an array of mouthwatering vegan and vegetarian dishes that cater to all palates, including those who typically enjoy meat. The menu features innovative creations like crispy fried "chicken" with kung-pow sauce and oyster-mushroom souvlaki paired with almond skordalia.
We had the best time at No Bones! A friend recommended the restaurant to us, and after reading the reviews, it was an easy decision to go. We're not vegan and we eat meat occasionally, but we're used to plant-based meals, so we weren't surprised by how good everything was (because YES, you can create wonders with vegan food!). The dishes were absolutely delicious, and we really loved the cocktails too. We tried the Margarita, the Paradise Pearl, the Outback Sour and the Heat Wave (the Heat Wave was surprising! 🌶️) We ended up ordering so much food that we couldn't finish it all, but luckily we were able to take the leftovers home. We tried the bao buns during happy hour, the mac 'n' cheese, the crispy chicken, the organic focaccia, and the eggplant parmi. Everything was amazing; it’s hard to choose a favourite! We were too full to try the chocolate tart, which we regret a little... Service was exceptional, Yasmina was truly amazing. It was a bit chilly inside (winter time...), but that didn't stop us from having a fantastic evening.

We had an incredible dining experience at No Bones! We shared a selection of starters and small plates—every single dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The service was fast, friendly, and super accommodating. We brought our infant along and felt totally welcomed. We’re not vegetarians, but you’d never guess it from how much we enjoyed the food—it’s just that tasty! Easily one of the best spots in Byron Bay. Highly recommend!

Food is pure art here! Every dish is super creative and packed with flavor. Even my hard core meat- lover partner couldn’t believe it was all plant- based. We left totally impressed (and full! 😋). Staff were super friendly and took time to explain the inside of every dish. Only one request… please bring back the croutons in the Caesar salad!

I stumbled upon this gem and couldn't be happier with my discovery! The atmosphere is incredibly inviting, with flexible seating that lets you choose your perfect spot whether you prefer the comfort of indoor dining or the fresh air of their outdoor area. Their menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated, offering something for every taste. I decided to be adventurous and ordered two different main courses, and I'm so glad I did because both dishes were outstanding. The flavors were spot on and the quality was exceptional. What truly elevated my visit was the exceptional service. The team was genuinely caring and made sure my dining experience was seamless from start to finish. Their attention to detail didn't go unnoticed. Being located in the town center makes this place incredibly convenient and accessible.

Visited for dinner with my partner, we chose the gluten free tasting menu. The server asked about allergies and food restrictions before we ordered. The food is absolutely sensational. Neither of us have any dietary requirements, this is the second time we've eaten here. Brilliant flavours, thoughtful presentation and intentional combinations of textures. The Caeser salad was unexciting, the Beetroot ravioli were delicious. The chocolate tart was out of this world and who would know that wasn't actually fresh calamari? The drinks list is varied, with many beers, wines, cocktails, mocktails and spirits to choose from. The service was impeccable. Highly recommended.
Rebecca W — Google review
We were there a couple of years ago and our re-visit certainly didn’t disappoint. Beautiful food full of flavours and well presented. If you enjoy vegetarian food I would highly recommend it.

I had high hopes, but was severely disappointed. Service was slow, unfriendly, and drab. Food was uninspiring. I ordered the carbonara. Was lukewarm. Found a hair in my food & after confronting staff had to wait over 15 minutes for another plate, at which point I just wanted to pay my bill and leave. I’m sad to say that I don’t recommend this restaurant. There are many cheaper, much more inviting vegan restaurants to visit in Byron Bay.

It's a notable vegan-friendly restaurant offering wholesome, hearty dishes. The Top Shop is another favorite weekend destination for locals, featuring an extensive menu of smoothies, juices, and cooked breakfasts.
Folk truly became our happy place during the two months we spent in Byron. We came back again and again — not just for the delicious food and coffee, but for the warm, soulful energy that fills this little oasis. Every visit felt like a hug. The people here are kind, genuine, and make you feel right at home. There’s a magic to this place that’s hard to put into words — it’s calm, creative, and deeply connected to the spirit of Byron. We’re counting down the days until we’re back in just a few weeks. Thank you for being such a beautiful part of our journey.

This place is all over Instagram, so I went and honestly, the food is a 10/10. I had the avocado toast with an incredible bread that tasted homemade, soft and fluffy, like sourdough. All the food was full of flavor and made on-site. The coffee was excellent. They had boxed oat milk, and they make their own almond milk in-house, though I didn’t try it. The space is very open and designed for outdoor seating, but the day I went it was quite windy and cold, and I didn’t see any heaters maybe that’s something they could improve.

A Must-Visit in Byron Bay! 🌿✨ Folk in Byron Bay is an absolute gem! I ordered the vegan burrito, scrambled eggs, and a vegan blueberry loaf - and every single dish was incredibly delicious. The flavours were fresh, well-balanced, and honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. The vegan options were especially impressive! What truly makes Folk special is the atmosphere. It has such a unique, calm, and cozy vibe - the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed and inspired. Decided to give folk Byron Bay a try on Sunday as it kept popping up on my socials and looked sensational. Online arrived to find there is no car park or parking. It’s right next door to the caravan park so parking is a nightmare at a hazard has the car park king that is available is a shared zone with the entry to the caravan park so it is a hazard on street parking on the main road is mostly zoned no standing so if you do park there you’ll get a fine. We spent $91 on what you see in the pictures. Order at counter pay at counter atmosphere. It was very average and spoke to staff about the 15% surcharge that we were to pay for and was told that it goes to the employees. No looking forward to the law changing when they’re not able to charge you 15% for nothing on top of what you’re already paying for overpriced and average food. These meals could’ve been made at home for cost of around $20 As after all we were only ordering simple eggs and avo smash one cappuccino and one Chai latte $91.00, sorry not sorry I am honest when I do a review on somewhere that I am paying good money to eat at We will not be back !
Caroline G — Google review
It's located on the side of a road on the way out of Byron bay. The setup is great with plenty of trees to provide shade and nice alcoves outside. The service was friendly and quick. I really enjoyed the double egg roll, it was sizable enough. The granola bowl however felt oddly dry despite the yoghurt and the fruit. It wasn't sweet so if you opt for it I'd recommend asking for some honey to sweeten the deal. The price was to be expected for the area and the portion sizes are big enough. Overall this is a great place for brunch around Byron bay, I would highly recommend it.

What a beautiful little gem! I couldn’t believe my luck when I found this cafe and went back another two times. Fantastic drinks and food with vegan options, good coffee, very friendly service and comfy outdoor seating. I loved the nourish bowl and the soba noodle salad, both contained an exquisite mix of interesting spices and flavours. Also really really good (and hot!) is the spiced cacao. The only negative experience was that when I cam for the third time we had to wait for 40 minutes to get our drinks.

We came in for a late lunch today and had such a wonderful experience! The staff were absolutely lovely — warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend Ember Byron Bay if you’re after a relaxed spot with great vibes and delicious food. We’ll definitely be back!

Food was really good. Two things that we did notice could be improved: 1- when you do table booking their ask if it’s for an special occasion. In this case was my partners birthday. I was expecting a dessert or something for her. 2- closing time is 23:00 at Friday. At 22pm they starting tidying up and turned off the heating and everything. We felt that we had to leave even though it was not even 22:30. It felt colder inside the restaurant than outside. Did they turn on the AC to make us leave (?) As expensive this restaurant is you would expect more of a quality service. This is the second time we go there but I don’t think we will come back.

Legitimately one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. If you’re ever in Byron Bay you must come and try this restaurant. Service was absolutely amazing.. My partner and I spent the weekend in Byron Bay and stumbled upon Ember for dinner — and wow, what a find! The photos online were stunning, but the real-life experience was even better. From the moment we walked in, we were met with genuine warmth and hospitality. We didn’t have a booking, yet the lovely gentleman at the front worked his magic to secure us a cosy table for two. The atmosphere was electric yet relaxed — the kind of vibe that makes you want to settle in for the night. Soft lighting, beautiful décor, and the gentle hum of happy diners set the perfect scene. And then came the food… absolutely flawless. Every bite was bursting with flavour, clearly crafted with care and quality ingredients. Worth every single dollar and then some. What really made the night was how welcome we felt. Every member of the team seemed to truly enjoy what they do, and it shows. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Ember isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience we’ll be coming back for every holiday in Byron. My partner proposed to me before hand so the night was purely wonderful.

We love food and know how to cook. We must say for the price they charge, the food is underwhelming. We had high expectations. The octopus was undercooked and was chewy like rubber. The clove on this dish was off and the flavor was confusing. The cheese pastabake was not cheesy and rather bland. This was a comment from my 8 years old daughter. The arancini ball was nothing special. They did nothing extraordinary than a packet arancini ball you can buy from supermarket. The dipping sauce for the chips was runny and watery. It taste bad. Perhaps they’re trying to cut cost. The crackling pork was burnt, dry and overcooked it tasted bitter (see picture). You can tell this has been cooked multiple times. And for the size they served it was overpriced. We won’t be back.

Myself and family went here for lunch shortly after Christmas. The food had a dynamic range of flavours with beautiful sauces, purees and dressings. We loved the starters and desserts. What an amazing find! Great food and very friendly service in a nice setting on the outskirts of town. The staff could not have been more friendly and the food was superb. I highly recommend if you are Byron Bay that you come check this very cool spot out. The salad was delicious (not sure I've ever said that before) and the perfect compliment to the rib. The restaurant was quite busy with several large tables so the chef sent over appetizers due to the longer than expected wait. Amazing choice be sure to check it out!

Although the space itself looks very inviting, I was quite underwhelmed with the breakfast menu. It was quite limited. The avocado on toast was also with pickles and seaweed which I don't like so I got toast with a side of avocado. The avocado was more like a dip. It is possible that breakfast is not their main draw card, but was hoping for a bit more.

Went to grab a coffee here yesterday morning while visiting Byron for the long weekend. Honestly, the younger guy working was so dismissive it completely put me off coming back. I politely asked whether the flat white was a single or double shot, and he acted like it was a ridiculous question - super smug and couldn’t give me a straight answer. The attitude really soured the experience and the coffee wasn’t even that amazing. Had great coffee outside Woolworths!

We stopped in a few months ago on our last day in Byron and wished we'd popped in on day one. The coffee was much appreciated and they had some limited snacks available too, probably one of the best coffee spots in Byron, they let me try a new blend they had in stock for free while I waited, great service and very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Been coming here for 10 years, coffee amazing aa usual. However service today was very poor (not the owner, the younger, tall guy). Not sure why he had an issue with my older loyalty card, instead he insisted on throwing it in the bin. Hasn't been an issue in the past. Not exactly the response I was expecting.

One of the best coffee spots in Byron! Great for sitting in the sun, sheltered from the wind, with a book and an amazing coffee. Highly recommend!

Best coffee I have tasted. The owner knew everything there is to know about coffee and it showed in the coffee. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a coffee in Byron Bay.

Nestled in the heart of Byron Bay, Yulli's Byron Bay is a delightful haven for those seeking a relaxed dining experience. This charming spot offers an enticing blend of contemporary Asian and Mediterranean cuisine, all while focusing on plant-based dishes. With a menu that boasts vibrant flavors and creative options, diners can indulge in everything from ginger shiitake mushroom gyoza to turmeric cauliflower pad thai. The atmosphere is inviting, featuring sidewalk dining that enhances the laid-back vibe of this coastal town.
We spent a pleasant evening at Yulli's for dinner on a Saturday night. We had the $48 pp banquet menu which was good value. Great presentation, tasty dishes and excellent service. We had the paired drinks which included a cocktail, two wines and a sake, the standout of the four drinks being the sake. It's great to see that in these times, there is still quality food to be had at a good price.

I have been waiting an age to go here. It was so worth the wait, the food was amazing. Every dish absolutely delicious. The food ten star, the atmosphere was 3 only because the secret has not got out and there were not a lot of people dining. It was lunch on Saturday of the long weekend. What a hidden secret in Byron Bay. Can’t wait to go back to try different dishes.

This is a lovely vegan restaurant hidden away in delightful Byron Bay. The banquet came in 5 courses of wee fancies that were tasty and quirky. The non alcoholic warm cider is die for.. . Great to have a fab vegan restaurant. Ppl need to use them, experience them and patronise regularly. Cheers team.. 🍻 👏

Couldn’t recommend enough!! We had the banquet for $45 each and it was a bargain for the amount of food we got. Every dish was delicious, and we had some leftover pad Thai to take home. A special mention has to go to the two desserts at the end. We were so full but nothing could have stopped us from demolishing them. Already planning to go back with family in the future!

An absolute gem in Byron Bay. Yulli’s delivers a fully vegan banquet experience that feels more like a global culinary journey than just a meal. Each course showcases techniques and flavours drawn not only from across Asia, but from all around the world – masterfully blended into a cohesive and elevated tasting menu. Coming from Hong Kong, I’ve grown up surrounded by complex and bold Asian flavours – so to find a restaurant in Australia that captures and reimagines those tastes with such skill honestly blew me away. My tastebuds were thrilled. The second course was a true standout: Sesame-crumbed shiitake mushrooms. The layers of flavour and texture were perfectly orchestrated – crunchy, savoury, bright, and deeply satisfying. And that final bite of pickled cucumber? An absolute stroke of brilliance – it tied everything together with a refreshing, zesty lift. (I sincerely hope this dish becomes a permanent fixture on the menu – it deserves to be.) The Korean fried broccolini was another highlight – bold, sticky, and tangy in the best possible way. It’s clear that this is not just about fusion for novelty’s sake, but a genuine, thoughtful celebration of culinary traditions, brought together with creativity and flair. If vegan food tasted like this every day, I’d go plant-based in a heartbeat. ♥️

Absolutely delicious food. We had the banquet (one with matching drinks) and it was all very tasty. Great way to try out a lot of the menu. We ordered a couple more things too just because it all sounded amazing (and was). Will definitely come back to try more of the menu when next down that way. Pet friendly which was great, and most importantly, 100% vegan, which is why we chose it.

All vegan decadent menu. We walked in without a booking and were able to be seated on a Saturday night. The 2 of us ordered the set banquet menu which has 3 small share items per course. With 3 courses plus desert. A bit of a wait for food but that’s because each plate was elegant and extremely tasty. $44 for so much food. We were full by the end. Would totally come back! 💖

Kouzina Byron Bay is a hidden gem tucked away in the industrial estate of Byron Bay. This Greek restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its no-menu policy, making it an ideal choice for groups who enjoy lively conversations. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by friendly staff and treated to a set menu for both lunch and dinner.
A friend recommended this restaurant, and it truly became the highlight of my trip to Byron. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the lovely Maria, whose beautiful smile and attentive service made me feel right at home. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The food took me on a journey back to Greece, reminding me of the first time I experienced authentic Greek cuisine. Each dish tasted like it was made with love just like a home-cooked meal. The dedication and care put into the preparation were evident in every bite. All the staff were incredibly friendly. I highly recommend paying a visit to Kouzina. It’s an experience you won’t forget.✨️

It’s hard to say what I loved the most about Kouzina, but if I had to pick I’d say its authenticity. If you have ever been to Greece you will recognise a lot of small details. The staff is very friendly and the food is amazing. It’s BYO so bring a bottle of your favourite wine or beer. They are also dog-friendly. We will certainly go back.

We had an absolutely incredible experience as a large group! The food was beyond delicious — every single dish was prepared with so much care and flavor. The service was outstanding, they looked after us incredibly well from start to finish. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and it was such a pleasure to be able to share the space with such a wonderful team. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!

What a hidden gem. It is almost inconceivable that one could be transported back to a family run taverna in Greece or the islands of, in the burgeoning Industrial estate of Byron (just down from Elements) and yet here we are. Its a wonderful set up, the outdoor bbq coals with the bbq wafting through air and the set up give a wonderful ambience. There is no menu as such (like excellent family run places in islands) but food depending on your dietary preference is brought out first as mezes then the mains As a fan of Greek cuisine, all was delicious, and so it commenced...perfect balanced vegetarian dolmades, creamy fava dips with octopus, tiropitas (cheese filo) doused with honey (popular with all incl the toddlers) perfect tartness and sweetness, tomatoes Gemista (tomatoes filled with rice n herds) had the perfect balance of sweetness of baked tomatoes and herbaceous filling, and lamb with rissoni that was sublime. As i walked past the lovely set up and bustling kitchen (Kouzina), I was half expecting to see a Yiayia in there cooking away, as it turns out i asked one of the lovely hosts who came to check on our table, where she was, She promptly confirmed that she was in fact the chef and learned her recipes from her Yiayia "good olive oil and produce" she modestly responded on being complimented. Its BYO only but theres a bottle shop nearby.

Come for the beautiful food, vibes and aesthetic - stay and return over and over because it's actually *moving*. Kouzina and it's creator show the difference between a restaunted born from passion alone vs true legacy and honouring. Especially if you have immigrants family, you'll get it.
Katie Z — Google review
Honestly? Portion sizes are tiny considering the $65 per person cost. Sold as a "Greek Feast" but more like a series of light snacks. Left hungry. One skewer per person (add more at a cost of $5 per skewer), small dips and pitta starter with one dolmade per serve, and a scoop of lamb orzo as a main between two people. The flavours were nice, home cooked vibe and the atmosphere could be charming, but left feeling out of pocket.

The Greek salad with shaved radish was out of this world the flatbread with hummous and caramelised onion brings fish and red wine together like never before the stuffed tomato with rice and secrets was caramelised in the bottom and reminded that tomato is a toffee apple fruit Meat balls amazing with herb infused baked potato to perfection The spanikopita was like a thin soufflé held in pastry crisp The rest is a secret …… keeps coming Arguably too much A culinary traditional Greek manifesto Thankyou Phoebe and team and cardomon baklava , squid the ultimate protein , lamb from god and rice pudding that someone’s great great grandmother sent her blessing We love that you exist Knowingly

Pixie Food & Wine is a new Italian eatery in Byron Bay, created by renowned restaurateurs James Sutherland and Kim Stephen. It offers a blend of coastal Italian cuisine with a modern twist, combining the laid-back vibe of Byron Bay with the sophistication of city dining. The restaurant aims to fill the gap for a venue that embraces beach culture while maintaining an urban level of refinement.
We had a fabulous experience at Pixie! We had seen many people raving about this spot on Tiktok so thought we would give it a try. Very friendly staff, attentive to water refills and clearing the table. We had: Focaccia - I really enjoyed the balsamic vinegar Mozzarella di Bufala - this was delicious! Would definitely recommend ordering this. Casarecce, Vodka Sauce - vodka pasta is hard to get wrong but this one was very nice and we were surprised how much we enjoyed such a simple dish. Paccheri, Wagyu Bolognese - lovely flavours, the meat was high quality, no fatty or gristley bits. Fries, Rosemary Salt - well seasoned and the aoli was not too garlicky, nicely flavoured. We finished with the tiramisu - we have tiramisu everywhere we go when it’s on the menu and this one was up there with one of the best we have had. All our food came out in great time. Overall we had a fabulous experience and will definitely be back.

Pixie is a must. After 10 visits to Byron and trying every new restaurant along the way, Pixie capture hospitality at its finest. The food was elevated yet approachable, classics done well. Everything you’d expect to see on the menu, with. Few surprises. The vibe was awesome, the music was killer and paired well with the warm interiors. We were so comfortable, and wish we had a house like this. The service was friendly, professional but not forced. The team here clearly respect and care about giving their customers a wonderful experience, and showcasing the finest of Pixie. 10/10 can’t wait to come back

12/05/2025: Food: Fritto misto was an absolute waste of time and rip off. Do not order. Mezze maniche with pork was lacking in pork and tasted like the cheap Leggos Alfredo ready to heat pasta that you buy from the supermarket. Vegan eggplant was tasty but too much crumb. Broccolini came about 10 mins after the mains despite us asking for it. Seems it was forgotten. Tiramisu was very nice. Atmosphere: Very cold inside with a cool breeze, so it's not overly pleasant. Service: Greeting at beginning was friendly but it went downhill pretty quickly. Young Italian waiter from Verona lacked interest in patrons and I had to ask so many times for water refill which he clearly didn't want to do as they wanted us to buy alcohol which I didn't feel like. Hard to get the attention of staff and service of main was very slow and to forget the broccolini is unforgivable. This place is completely overrated. This was our last night in Byron Bay and it was a real disappointment 😞.

One of the best dining experiences we had in Byron. Food was incredible, staff were helpful and attentive & the wine list has some great offerings. Inside looked pretty busy so we sat outside & had the front all to ourselves which was nice. I’m pregnant and don’t usually bother with mocktails but the watermelon with coconut cream was incredible and scratched the cocktail itch. We shared the scallops & focaccia, my partner had oysters then for mains we had the crab pasta & pork cotoletta special. We will definitely be returning next time we’re up & recommending to friends visiting Byron Bay!

A bit disappointed. I am not so sure if I am Asian, the manager (the one who wearing white suit) doesnt feel like want to serve me but others. I would say the pasta is very good, while other food is overrated. No one to serve for water when your glass is empty, as well as your wine glass too. Anyway.... I feel its a so so resturant, not that high rate as google. Scallop: 6/10 taste good. But its not hot enough. Pasta: 9/10 very tasty. The best cuisine of tonight Slow cook beef: 7/10 Good. But not stunning. Thanks

Campground
Ingenia Holidays Byron Bay is a beach holiday park located just a short walk from Arakwal National Park and Byron Bay Golf Course. The park offers various accommodation options including powered and unpowered sites, as well as cabins and villas with amenities like kitchens and living areas. Guests can enjoy an outdoor pool, games room, and playground, while also having access to facilities such as a coffee shop/cafe and grocery store.
A very well-maintained and well-managed campground offering plenty of options for every type of traveler – from powered and unpowered sites to comfortable rooms and tent spaces. The facilities are clean and tidy, with toilets and showers that are regularly serviced, though a few more would be great during busy times. The campground has lots of nice extras such as a pizza van, bike rentals, and even skate sessions for kids, which makes the atmosphere lively and fun. The location is perfect – right by the beach, only about 10 minutes by bike to the city center, and a Woolworths just around the corner for all your supplies. The camp kitchen is spacious and well equipped, ideal for cooking together or meeting other travelers. Overall, a great place to stay with a relaxed vibe, friendly management, and everything you need for a comfortable beachside camping experience! Price was average but absolutely worth it.

A group of us stayed this weekend, some in tents, some of us in small motorhomes. We could not fault the facilities, 4 small camp kitchens through out the park, 2 toilet/shower blocks near us. Great hot water and supplied body wash, shampoo and conditioner... amazing...never seen this before. Staff efficient and accommodating, only thing was the access to the beach, more than a 10 minute walk, lots of erosion and for us older chicks having to climb down a 3 metre drop and back up again. Pet friendly would definitely come back again.
Fergcharminx C — Google review
Nice little cabin with private parking, set in a quiet camping/holiday park. The unit is cozy and includes a well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable bed. On the downside, the bathroom is extremely small and the sink is so tiny that it’s hardly practical to use. Still okay for a short stay, but not ideal for longer visits.
Jens T — Google review
We stayed here recently and the place is really, really good! The structure is amazing, great kitchen, laundry, pool, and plenty of spaces to sit, chat and relax. For families, there are so many options for kids: a small skate park, a little basketball court (or just space to play whatever they want), and a playground. The toilets are a great size too, you can actually dry yourself properly without getting everything wet, which is a big plus! Everything is always super clean and tidy; the staff do an excellent job keeping the whole place well-maintained. There are many accommodation options too: camping, glamping, rooms, houses, etc. The only downside for us was that the campsites are quite close to each other. You really feel like you’re sharing the same space, which takes away a bit of that “nature and peace” vibe we usually look for when camping. But it looks like there are some sites further away (around Jasmine Lane), so we’ll definitely try those next time!
Michelle P — Google review
We had a 6 night stay, booked a grassed site. Had I been told the grass was actually sand I would have booked a slab site. I didn't realise there was a superior area, I did booking over the phone no info given about different sites. The site has a mat to park on, it could do with another mat alongside to help cover the sand. It was very windy for two days and the sand blasted everything. Most sites are so close when you put the awning out your almost touching. We were parked under a big tree full of birds. Yes the shade is nice but the bird poop not. Small branches and tree nuts and litter scattered the top of the van. Had we realised how noisy and messy it was we would have asked for a move. But once set up we couldn't be bothered moving, that's if they had a site available. I don't think they should put vans in this site 48. We are on the road for 12 months with limited opportunity to clean the van. Amenities not sufficient for the amount of unpowered sites approximately 90. The toilets shower always disgusting with the campers just leaving facility unclean not bothering to use mop to clean floor after themselves. Needs more regular cleaning and more amenities. There was another block by the glamping tents I preferred, it seemed much cleaner not used by the unpowered sites lots of backpackers there. There was a pool, play ground and bouncy pillow that didn't seem to be inflated or used. They had a bridge access to the beach but this has been closed due to termite damage apparently. Couldn't park car by van due to bird poop. After first night hubby took it to the car wash it was in such a mess. We left it in a parking bay by the reception. I wouldn't stay here again, this has been the only park in over 5 months of travel I have been disappointed with. Not sure why check in at 12 as sites vacated at 10 and not one person checked on or looked at the site from one leaving to another coming.
Pamela R — Google review
We booked an ensuite powered site (because the regular powered sites were fully booked). We paid 104 dollars per night (!!) It was both the most expensive ánd the smallest spot we stayed at during our roadtrip. We were completely boxed in by huge caravans. Not very nice. The ensuite itself was very clean, but unfortunately the shower drain didn’t work properly, so you ended up standing in a pool of water. We didn’t see much of the campsite, as we spent most of our time in Byron Bay itself. (Byron is amazing)
Susan E — Google review
The toilet flush has almost no pressure so it just stops working at night time. There are some lovely staff (the guys on the buggy carts and Rhi at the front desk) but every time we do visit we always remark on the attitude you seem to cop from the front desk. Always feels a little off putting as you’re there on holiday, paying a fair bit and you get treated like you’re an annoyance. Anyway, we usually camp or stay in tallow pod both are amazing. This time I stayed in beach cabin 6. There were 4 centipedes (that I found, hate to think how many there really were) that I had to kill I saw one entering my room from what I assume was a hole behind the shelving. So gross. Apparently this hole was found and plugged up but there were still bugs so who knows. The cabin itself was so filthy, footprints all over the tiles when we arrived. It’s like no one really cares all that much about those cabins. We do love it here because it has extremely special family memories and will be back, just will never book a cabin again, and hope and hope that we get looked after by Rhi again!

Very happy with our stay. We were on an unpowered site camping and had a great time. Toilet and showers were clean. Would have been great to be able to access the beach but council as repairing bridge. Not the fault of the site though.

Good and service were great! With such an abundance of choice in Byron, it can make it hard to pick a cuisine, let alone an establishment. Rest assured of this restaurant’s quality. Busy most of the time and limited seating however this kitchen smartly offers takeaways also 👌 A truly “must try” if you live in the area or are passing through.

Great food in a cozy atmosphere. The cocktails are outstandingly tasty. The food was delicious, unfortunately I was too busy enjoying my dinner to be bothered taking photos of the beautifully presented dishes. I would definitely visit again.
Armani A — Google review
The service was disappointing. There was no acknowledgment that it was a birthday celebration, and no consideration for the fact that we had small children who couldn’t handle spicy food — especially since the menu didn’t indicate the spice levels. The food was good but quite overpriced for the small portions. It had a vague resemblance to Middle Eastern cuisine, but honestly, nothing truly authentic or distinctive about it. With so many great dining options in the Byron region, I don’t think I’ll return. It just wasn’t particularly special, and the service didn’t make up for it.

It's the perfect place to relax and meet new people while enjoying feel-good music, daily happy hour, and free dinner every night between September and May.
This has been the best hostel experience of my life. The rooms were clean, an abundance of activities and services. Really great for solo travellers. It was a safe environment and there was parking. All conveniences were pretty close to the location, the beach right around the corner. Yanni was an absolute legend and helped me out at the hostel!

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel! Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the rooms and facilities were good! Yanik in particular was very friendly, kind and supportive throughout my whole stay in Aquarius. He was always happy to answer any questions I had. The only thing is that the room could have been slightly cleaner. Below my bed was quite a lot of dust and bits of litter. However, it was still comfortable, I had a good sleep there, and everything else was fine!

Perfect place to stay in Byron Bay. It's ideally located, close to the sea and all amenities, and the lighthouse is within walking distance. The rooms are spacious, clean, the beds comfy, and the kitchen will do even if it stays simple. There's also a fitness area and a swimming pool which was under construction at the time of my stay. Big shout out to the staff who are the friendliest and easiest to deal with, when I encountered some issues with my booking they fixed it the same day and also offered a refund if I preferred to book somewhere else. Amazing service, needless to say I'll book again if I get a chance.

Honestly, one of the cleanest and most spacious hostels I’ve stayed in. Loved the rooftop gym and the morning yoga class was such a nice touch! and all the free activities you can join. The big kitchen is super well-organised, and even the 10-bed female dorm was spotless. Also , you get 15% off at the restaurant bar next door. Yanni at the front desk was super lovely and helpful. The Surf House, Byron Bay, is a hostel that occupies a central and prime spot in the beachside town. The property features a rooftop bar and free surfboards. The hostel provides easy access to the beachfront, making it an ideal place to stay if you are visiting Byron Bay for its natural beauty or cultural offerings.
I had a wonderful time staying at The Surf House, I felt safe and secure staying there and it had great facilities. The staff/volunteers are so welcoming and kind. The hostel is in a perfect location allowing you to walk everywhere. I had left a personal item at the hostel and the staff have been so helpful and amazing by posting it back to me. I can’t recommend it enough, I will be going back there to stay again.

I stayed in a private room. The location is great and the staff is really friendly and accommodating. I got upgraded to a room with a balcony, which was really nice! There were a few ants in the room, I guess they came from the balcony, but the staff offered to spray them for me. So the service was great! It is a bit expensive for a hostel, but that seems to be often the case for hostels in Australia, or specifically Byron Bay. There were regular social events, but it’s not loud at night and not a party hostel. The kitchen is big, as well as the laundry room. I feel like shared spaces could be a bit cleaner, but obviously guests have to take care too. Overall I would recommend it, if you’re set on a hostel. If you don’t need the social aspect as much, I’d recommend getting a hotel room for the price.

Best hostel I’ve been to in Australia , the atmosphere is perfect: friendly and lively but also relaxing, a perfect environment to socialise, thanks to the daily activities organised by the hostel. I loved that they have free yoga classes four times a week, free surfboards hire and the location is also perfect, literally five minutes walk from the beach. Also super clean !

I stayed in a 6-bed mixed dorm for 6 nights. I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was always very helpful, even so that when I arrived, the guy in reception noticed my big luggage and helped me carry it up the stairs! Hostel was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen area big and well equipped. The rooftop bar was lovely and the hostel had all kind of nice activities, for example free yoga in the mornings from Mo to Fri! Location is perfect, with beach just few minutes away, all the best night life places close by (but not too close, hostel is very quiet). ALDI also very close. Really liked my stay, would stay there again!

Honestly the best hostel I’ve ever stayed at. Super clean rooms and bathrooms, the beds have curtains and ample locker space. Amazing location, near to literally everything, on the door stop of the beach and the Main Street. The happy hour is great too and the rooftop bar has great vibes. Only possible downside is that they didn’t have enough locker storage and I had to leave my bag in the lobby. But otherwise great stay and helpful staff.

The best hostol I've stayed in so far in Australia. The staff made me feel welcomed and relaxed and offered to check me in early, and upgraded me! which I appreciated very much. Good value and it's amazing that they have free bord rental. Will stay again!
Seán P — Google review
Absolutely great location in Byron! The bunks in each room were nice with lights, curtains and plugins. I do wish the rooms had hooks for wet towels and bathing suits to hang up. The kitchen was nice and big with lots or cooking tools. I did find that the bathrooms got a bit unclean during the day and it would’ve been nice if they were cleaned twice instead of once a day.

Loved it here. Best location in Byron. Rooms were extremely clean. The guy at reception was the best. Will definitely stay next time.

National park
Arakwal National Park, located just south of Cape Byron Lighthouse, is a charming and unspoiled haven co-managed by the local Arakwal Aboriginal community and the state government. Established in 2001, this scenic area boasts a 3 km stretch of Tallow Beach and is home to diverse wildlife such as migratory birds like osprey and white-bellied sea eagles.
A beautiful place to escape the more crowded areas. Steep walking tracks, rough in places, lead you down to small beaches with interesting geology at each end. Great to know it’s protected under national park status. Please pick up any rubbish you find along the way; I removed about 10pieces on my visit. X

This beach is a power of nature and with all the whales splashing in the water the view from the top of the dunes was extraordinary. Once again a pristine example on how a National Park should be preserved.

Looks the bush had a recent fire. You can still smell the burnt wood smell as you walk through the trail. Pleasant easy walk, the sand was beautiful on your feet. The birds were going crazy it’s very beautiful to see the chaos in the sky. When you get to the main beach it took approx 10mins and it’s super relaxing and there’s not many people around when I went. You can see the light House a long distance away, recommend grabbing some food and drinks and a very good beach towel

Nice and quiet for a short walk to the surf beach.
Pepper S — Google review
This is the very best beach in New South Wales. Part of the Seven Mile Beach, there is so much space that you can feel alone, even on a most busy day when all of the parking space is taken. Curious crabs occupy the beach. Give them time to show themselves. Also, the ocean is amazing. The current and the waves are strong, so be cautious how in the water you want to venture. People do surf here. No life-saving on the beach
G G — Google review
Beautiful beach, next to a little mountain that makes it look even more beautiful. A lot of waves, maybe a little bit too big if your plan is going for a swim. We thought there might be a walking trail but all paths between the trees seem to lead nowhere. I recommend!
Anto N — Google review
Good walking paths nice little nature park good for little ankle biters to home there Steve Irwin skills on has outdoor barbies But stay on main paths dont go outback or you come across snakes Lizards. But all paths will bring you the beach

Love it. Tallow beach is awesome. Great waves bit hard for newbie surfers. A little rippy watch it. Great for dogs at the other end. 10/10 on the bear surf report

The new cinema complex in Byron Bay offers a delightful setting with friendly and helpful staff. Cinema 6 stands out with its unique and stylish decor, reminiscent of the outback. The toilet facilities are of high quality. However, visitors should be prepared for the large crowd of shoppers descending the escalators in the newly revamped Woolies store, which may require some navigation after watching a movie.
An excellent experience all round. Lovely new premises, great local restaurants on the doorstep, great atmosphere, easy access and plenty of local free street parking (I’m happy to walk 200m rather than pay the incompetent Byron Shire for parking on their pothole ridden streets 😡!), very clean, and the movie was sold out but I had no problem finding my seat. Great sound and comfort. I signed up to become a Member and I will be back often!!!

We had a great time on Saturday night: nice staff, cool movie in great seatings, and afterwards we sat in the beautiful armchairs in the lounge to discuss our impression of the movie. The atmosphere in cinema is fabulous, well done!
Veronique C — Google review
Staff were really nice, cinema was really comfy and clean and overall had a lovely time :) Definitely recommend going to see a movie here
Cyno — Google review
Greeted by the remarkable atmosphere as you get upstairs, you just want to order yourself a drink. The ticket counter is with the food and drinks. There’s 3 popcorn and drink combos with Standard starting from 10AUD. The tickets are around 21 for adults and I had the medium featured combo which was 12, totalling $33- was not cheap, but the venue was very nice. The theatres inside were also tidy and on top of the normal cup holders between seats there were mini tables, which can be handy(?) or a bit bulky(?) depending on whether you need to use it or not. As we watched a 20:15 movie on a Sunday evening, only the ticket counter had staff. Overall experience was great. Staff, cleanliness, popcorn and restrooms were all too standard. A bit pricy, though, but if you like cozy atmospheres, it would be for you.

I like the cinema and the bar is also very pleasant however I bought the popcorn 🍿 twice this week, seeing 2 different movies and the first box was very good, the second box was excruciatingly salty and totally inedible, confirmed by my friend who also couldn’t eat it! I returned an almost full box of popcorn to the foyer but the guy who sold it to me said ‘too bad’! He said people have different ideas about how salty popcorn should be! I said this popcorn is inedible can you give me another box with less salt and he said no. So I bought a vanilla choc top icecream which was delicious!

Lovely set-up to new cinema complex in Byron. Staff we met were helpful and friendly. Smart unusual decor in cinema 6 reminded me of the outback. Very good toilet facilities. But beware the hordes of hungary shoppers down the escalators in newly revamped Woolies, as you might have to navigate your way through them after the show. Soooooo many people. Cinema complex has excellent online services for booking sessions, joining movie club, general information.
Marie W — Google review
Took my daughter tonight to see a movie. The cinema we were in was not cleaned, there was food everywhere and stinks like mould.
Clint A — Google review
Beautiful Cinema world class, great food and drink ($14 aperol spritz, toastie $10, which is affordable for byron!). Tickets can be pricey but they have membership discounts and family movies sometimes cheaper. A nice intimate cinema date.
